"This would be one to avoid IMHO"

You never know with Best Westerns, some are very good, and some are well...like this one. There was some remodeling going which caused issues. The whole place had the vibe of 60s motel recently taken out of mothballs. The public areas needed a good cleaning. Breakfast was more or less par for these places, not very exciting. Bed was fine. Bathroom was very small. Shampoo, etc came from a dispenser on the shower wall giving a gymnasium feel. Staff was helpful.

I usually love Best Western but this visit was incredibly disappointing. In a nutshell, while the rooms are nice and clean and a good size, the staff is rude and the walls are like paper. You can hear everything that the people in the rooms flanking you say or do. If you want a good night's sleep you won't get it here.The pool is the colour of milk and the breakfast was pandemonium (not their fault, they had two bus tours but after a sleepless night due to the tissue paper walls, a quiet breakfast would have been a nice change.)

This place isn't that bad, or that good... it's about what you'd expect for a best western in a small low income town. That's not to slight them, I use this hotel when I'm in the area on business but I wouldn't bring my family on vacation... The staff is very friendly and helpful, it's just that it's a bit dated and in need of updates pretty badly...

In a three-night stay, housekeeping visited once. Breakfast was fair. The coffee maker was missing a vital part for operation. The walls are a bit thin. The hotel could use some updating. I was constantly reminded how much better this hotel was, than the Hampton Inn...

"Cold Swimming Pool"

We arrived at the Best Western to find that they had recently emptied the pool. It was way too cold for our children to enjoy swimming. Since we are locals, we had rented a room specifically for the pool. When we asked if we could just come back later in the week for a couple of hours to swim, we were told no. It seemed like very poor customer service. We had this happen once over in Niagara Falls, and the hotel had made previous arrangements for swimming with another hotel. I thought the Best Western should have offered us something. Anyone with young children knows the swimming pool is what the hotel experience is all about. It was a big disappointment to our family. We won't be recommending this hotel to anyone who comes to visit us in the future.

I've found a lot of inconsistency in the quality of hotels at this level, however, this was a pleasant surprise. It had a spacious welcoming lobby and our room was clean and functional. I would stay here again.

"Comfortable and Clean"

Looks as though the motel was updated in the past 5 years. The room was comfortable and the bathroom updated with stone countertop plus stone walls around tub. The shower made noise when hot and cold water was mixing. TV was adequate with a basic remote. Breakfast room was an ample size for almost 100 rooms, with sausages tasting good but eggs seemed powdery. Coffee was brewed a little weak and the orange juice was blended a little weak. A restful stay with limited occupancy that night.

Used points to stay over while visiting family in Lockport. Huge, former Holiday Inn, now Best Western Plus. Convenient to shopping and amenities. On busy Transit Road. Stayed here in snowy winter, hotel had only 10 guests. While facility has seen some renovations, hotel felt and looked old. Room clean, bath updated with tiny vanity. Hotels should skip tubs when renovating and install walk in showers. Bed comfortable and we did have a quiet night's sleep. Lighting was all table lamps; need overhead. Couldn't see all that well. Although room temp was frigid upon entering, we were able to warm it satisfactorily. Breakfast was standard chain hotel breakfast and not all that great. Coffee not good.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at Best Western Lockport, the cleaning maids were polite and did a good job of cleaning my room, the breakfast had a variety of food and the location was quiet enough for me to sleep well at nigh. Highly recommend to anyone.

The BW Plus Lockport is a old landmark. It hasn't been upgraded in decades and continues to show its age. It is clean and dependable. Bathrooms are small. Room decor is dated and the walls are separating from the building. Reliable but dated.

The heat did not work in our room, it even snowed a bit that night, and we had air conditioning. Discovered in the am that you could not shut it down. The bathroom was not to my liking. The guest upstairs where very noisy, with banging and swearing going on. The location to stores, excellent. The beds where very comfortable, if there had been extra blankets it would of helped. I finally had to put my jacket on to keep warn

This was our 3rd 2 night stay at this very comfortable hotel. We have been staying in hotels in and around Buffalo for over 25 years and I think that this is one of the best in the medium price range. Spacious attractive lobby. Comfortable guest rooms with good décor and furnishings . Excellent king sized bed with good linens. Small bathroom but good to have the dispenser for gels in the tub/shower combo. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection of hot and cold items. The Galleria and Eastern Hills shopping centres are an easy 25-30 minute drive away.

read the previous statement. Gross walked out of breakfast because the action of guess . run do not stop into the breakfast area if there is a bus outside. They do not respect or norms and values. The general manager could not manage to book a more gross group of people that contaminated the breakfast area. I walked out and disinfected myself.

I spent three nights at this motel. I would definitely recommend it. If you are looking for brand new, this isn't the place. But if you want a clean, comfortable, and well-kept motel at an affordable price, try this motel.

My husband called and made reservations with this hotel a week and a half prior to our stay. We were coming from 4 hours away. He booked a 2 queen room. When we arrived, well after check in time, we were informed our room wasn't cleaned yet and would have to wait. They found us a "clean room" after my husband complained. when we went to the room the door was opened because the housekeeping was still working on cleaning it and it was a KING room, not a double queen like we booked. We went back to the front desk to ask for a clean room, and a DOUBLE QUEEN room like we booked. The lady informed us they had NO QUEEN ROOMS in the facility and they didn't know why the person over the phone who booked this for us didn't inform us of that. Needless to say we got our money refunded and left very upset. Being out of town, we had to then call around to several different hotels, all of which were booked because of the buffalo bills football game. We found a room finally at the Lockport Inn and Suites, which was way more money than we planned on, however, was a lovely little Inn. We were satisfied with that at least! Never again will we bother with Best Western!

The hotel overall was nice, the staff was good. It could use some minor updates. Just more outlets for charging & some lighting updates in the rooms. Bathrooms could use some updates too. A great value for the money.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and full excellent breakfast. Close to all stores, wineries and a local fun murder mystery train trip to a winery. Only a short jaunt to Niagara Falls. I would definitly book here again.

My husband and I were there to visit family and a wedding. I have bad knees and back which makes it very important that the bed and room is very comfortable for me. The hotel was located to all the different family members homes which made it very easy to get to their homes to visit!

Our family and friends travelled to Lockport for my son's wedding Sept. 2017. The whole staff at the Best Western Plus was just amazing. They help me set up a great rehearsal dinner at the hotel and suggested a restaurant to cater from. They were courteous and efficient the whole weekend. We had a huge crowd of people and there was always someone at the desk to help. Couldn't have asked for any better service. The rooms were comfortable and all the kids enjoyed pool time. Highly recommend this hotel.

"Good Place to stay in Lockport"

This hotel is very clean, relatively inexpensive, and located only a short drive to town. The heated pool was a bonus and we took advantage! We really appreciated the layout of the hotel, with lots of parking and multiple entrances so we didn't have to walk very far to our rooms. The breakfast was standard but much appreciated as well. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Outstanding staff all around. Beautiful lobby and breakfast areas. Lots of parking with several secured outside doors so we could park at a door near our room. Room and bathroom was almost spotless... very clean and well maintained.

Without getting into to much detail, I ran into a situation where I ended up with no vehicle, no money and no cell phone. All I had was my Driver License.Thankfully someone let me use their cell phone and I was able to contact my son in Albany ( 5 hrs away ). He was able to call for a taxi and made arrangements for me to stay at this hotel. When I checked in, Pam was expecting me. I explained my situation and what a traumatic experience I had. I told her I had no money for dinner and would it be possible to charge me extra for the room on my son's card in exchange for some food money. She told me that she could not do that but she very quickly reached into her pocket and gave me the needed funds. I cannot say enough about what that meant to me at that time. I told her that I would repay her upon my son's arrival. She said it was not necessary and even though I did repay her she did this without any regard of getting repaid. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. As far as my stay, the room was clean, quiet and breakfast was plentiful. I will absolutely return when I am in that area.

Place is easy access ti niagara falls and other attractions. It is also surrounded by good amount of restaurants and shopping arcades Stay is comfortable and good Rooms are neat and you would have enough parking. Breakfast is good Staff and service is good

When we travel in North America, we almost always stay at Best Westerns and have done so for over 20 years. We stayed at this property for a couple of nights, mainly because the room rate was lower, it was near an attraction we wanted to visit and it was a BW Plus. I'm not sure how BW arrives at its classifications, because we have had better rooms at both the Niagara Falls Summit Inn and the Inn at Buffalo Airport, neither of which is a Plus. The Trip Advisor ratings are the same for the three properties. Our Lockport room had the smallest bathroom we have encountered for quite some time - the toilet was so close to the bathtub, there was not enough space for my leg in between and there was only one bath towel per person. The hallways had a somewhat musty/chemical smell and so did our room when we arrived - certainly not fresh-smelling. My wife purchased a can of Glade air freshener to use in the room. Ventilation is not the greatest - in the morning one could smell the burnt toast from the breakfast room in the second floor hallway. Walls seemed to be thin - we could hear the neighbors talking in the evening. The hotel is also showing its age and requires some maintenance - a lot of little things. A section of floor is buckled at the pool and my wife almost tumbled. It's not all negative though: The beds were extremely comfortable and well made up. The room was very clean. Breakfast was good, typical BW hot & cold selection with a very friendly, attentive staff member on duty. All staff we encountered were very friendly - absolutely nothing to criticize there.

Loved this hotel. From check in till check out this staff could not do enough for you. Very professional and every employee was very knowledgeable about their responsibilities. I do not remember the names and I apologize for that. The one name I remember is Beverly in the breakfast area. What a smiley, helpful, caring love my job type of employee. She not only does her work the way things should be done she makes you feel like family. Thanks for making my visit complete.

This motel has one of the best Break fast and good customer service, you will experience. Staff is very co-operative and helpful. It is 30 minutes away from Niagara Falls and same from Buffalo. Plenty of eating places at walking distatnce.

Great value, great service and very comfortable. Breakfast not great, but coffee excellent. Staff is available, friendly and helpful. Cannot go wrong, especially for a weekend in Niagara. A bit out of the way, but in tourist season that's a very good thing.

If you want to avoid higher priced hotels near Lake Ontario wine country, Erie Canal locks, or Niagara Falls, this hotel is ideally situated near everything you might need and only ~30 min drive to many places. Breakfast included, price OK, decor alittle older

"Not up to BW plus standard"

I stay at a lot of Best Western Plus hotels in Canada, USA and Europe. This one would have to rank near the bottom. For starters, it is pretty old or at least the furnishings are. Unfortunately, there is carpeting everywhere and awful smells seem to love diving right into it. On the first floor, the ice machine was not working. My room had no hair dryer or micro wave oven. The bed was comfortable but I just found the room dark, dreary and depressing. The breakfast was decent and the staff was nice, but I would not return to this BW+

Room 118 was filthy and smelled strongly of urine. On the second day we asked for a different room. The front desk attendant was kind and gave us another room. While the second room didn't smell like urine, it did smell strange. Probably the dirtiest hotel we've ever stayed at.

Decent rooms, quiet and comfortable. Good breakfast and most staff very friendly. Indood pool and gym both need attention. Outside of building neglected too long and needs upgrade soon. One of two computers in lobby area non-functioning.

Very pleasant stay. Unfortunately there was a rather noisy tour group there one night but overall the place was fine. The decor was refreshingly airy and a welcome change from the dark and drab colors of so many hotel rooms.

We return to this Best Western each year because it is always very clean and everyone is helpful. We never have problems. It is almost like home away from home for us. We return every year even after a new hotel was built right down the street we would not switch. The staff is great and everything is just as we would like it.

convenient location to Niagara Falls and the locks. Also plenty of eating places within walking distance. Walmart just down the road. about 40 minutes to the falls. I've stayed at better best westerns but this was convenient for the trip home

friendly, honest and caring people work at this location. I think they take pride in their work, they seem to really care about the guests and making them feel welcome. They are very helpful and polite, I found it very refreshing to feel relaxed while in a strange place.

This place was great, on a long strip road lots of stuff around, the woman at the desk told us where we could see Fourth of July fireworks without all the traffic. It was convenient to the Erie Canal locks.

The values on this deal was great. I booked three rooms for $90 for 2 nights over July 4th Weekend! The breakfast was better than expected; they continuously refilled the breakfast items. There was a pool, which is great for rainy days. Rooms were VERY clean :). Only negatives for me were the slow (barely there) wi-fi & that it is 30 min. from Niagara. You have to drive through towns; it doesn't have great access to the highway, but that is why it is so cheap. Still would recommend and plan my day around the travel time.

"Nice last minute stay!"

My wife and I had an extra day off work so we decided to start our trip to the Niagara area early. I had enough BW points for a free stay at my choice of four BW hotels within an hour of Niagara and chose Lockport. When we arrived I have to say we thought it looked a little sketchy. we were unsure if the whole building was the BW, the left end looked like an apartment building and a little dated. as we entered the lobby our opinions changed. Very nice clean lobby (maybe décor a little dated). The front desk agent was very friendly and got us checked in quick after our long 8+ hour drive. Our room was very clean with a nice bed and very nice bathroom and AC system. The only thing was the Décor but as I write this I am starting to think this is a best Western thing and not hotel specific. The breakfast area was very nice with an adequate breakfast options (once again very clean). Niagara falls is under 30min away also. So to sum it up (remember this is only a 2.5 star rated) NICE HOTEL, GREAT STAFF, GREAT STAY. Corridor had been freshly painted so the smell of paint was strong. Nothing that would have made me not stay. Everything was clean and fresh, value was good and staff was very attentitive. Would stay again

This hotel offered great sleeping accommodations. The pillow, mattress and bedding were very clean and comfortable which made for a great stay. The bathroom was up to date and I love the shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispenser in the shower. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. This location offered a continental breakfast of a variety of selections. The sausage was delicious both mornings and the potatoes were worth a second helping. I also was pleased that the water was available all day. The staff was also accommodating with letting us eat other meals in the dinning area and using the microwave. They do have an indoor pool which I would have liked to use but I was short on time.

Old and needs renovations ....Will not be staying there at anymore baseball tournaments....on our way to our room we encountered a dirty smelly toilet plunger on the elevator...rooms were old with stained walls and dirty carpets

Stay was not good as expected. Room was smoking. It was too late for me to change it. I opened windows full night. Batch room is tiny. Rest all was good. Breakfast was very good. My family enjoyed that.

Our family stayed in this hotel for 4 nights while visiting family in the area. It's an older hotel, but very quiet, even when there were baseball teams and tour groups staying there. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We requested a 2nd floor room but she was open about the large groups staying up there. She gave us the option and we decided on the 1st floor room. We had no problem with noise. The room with 2 queen beds was fairly small. The breakfast area is moderately sized but there's an overflow room that allowed extra space. The breakfast food was pretty good - pancakes, sausage, eggs, cereal, etc. Overall, I would say we'd stay there again.

The room was very clean, and even though it is a bit on the older side, everything worked, especially the A/C, and it ran quietly. A big breakfast area with lots of seating and quite a few choices. Lots of room to more around the hotel as well. The pool was smaller then some, and no hot tub, but nice just the same. Ample parking. Could use more power outlets for electronics. A good choice to be sure!

"Winner...of our worst stay! UGH!"

Don't be fooled by the lobby lipstick and glowing Trip Advisor reviews. This place is not worth the meager savings. Done with Best Western after this stay. After checking in and pulling around the building to access our room, we were greeted by about 6 sketchy looking characters hanging out at the end of one of the building entrances. Scenes from a barroom. Downhill from here. I am not sure what the acrid stench in the hall was, a cross between paint fumes, Fritos, and stinky feet. Pungent is an understatement. More sensory experiences awaited once in our room, as I opted to leave my shoes on after sticking to the carpet. After a quick bite out, we returned to our room for the evening. The fire dept greeted us this time. Apparently some hooligan thought it amusing to pull the fire alarm. Hours of flashing lights and a frazzled desk clerk on the edge of tears. Classy place. Unconsciousness couldn't come quickly enough, but this proved challenging with rock-hard beds and a too stuffy room thanks to a broken A/C. In addition, we could hear every syllable of conversations in neighboring rooms and from passersby in the hallway. Sound-proofing must not be in the BW building budget. In the morning, hoping to salvage something of the stay, we banked on the breakfast Trip Advisors raved about, only to be met with a bus load (or 2) of Chinese tourists. We witnessed the diners descending on the breakfast refill cart like ravenous vultures. We returned to the room to wait them out a bit. When we tried again, we found that they had all but wiped out the breakfast offerings. A pitiful vestige of half-frozen pastries, filthy serving area, and a forkless canister beckoned us to dine. An apropos ending to our worst accommodations yet. Glad to be leaving you, BW! We won't be back!

I apologize if you felt that foreign travelers impeded your efforts at breakfast, although they are paying guests also. I am troubled by the questionable characterization of a few other guests staying at the hotel that you encountered. The fire alarm event was unfortunate and unavoidable, but having a safety plan in place with fire department response is hopefully what guests would expect & respect in the event of an emergency. I stayed at this Lockport hotel again this last weekend while in town for business. It is always clean and accommodating, with lots of amenities you don't expect to find for under $100/night. I've also never had a problem with noisy neighbors in my hallway. They breakfast is always good, and the other "common areas" (i.e. swimming pool) are also great for the price. I enjoy this place as THE hotel to use when you are watching your wallet.

We were with a group of 100 people and the hotel bent over backwards to ensure that we had a good 5-night stay. The breakfast staff were amazing. They maintained pleasant composure and were responsive when our group and a bus group converged for breakfast in a 45-min. period. The hotel is well maintained and we received good value. Management was very helpful and Beds were quite comfortable. The hotel is located conveniently for restaurants and tourist spots.

Our car club used this hotel as our base for daily car tours to visit highlights in the area. The hotel has many good restaurants nearby from fast-food to fine dining. Some of our members enjoyed the pool and workout room. Staff and accommodations were wonderful. There was one hiccup, they permitted 2 semi-trucks to park in the parking lot and the one ran its engine most of the night (varying speeds) which kept me awake most of the last night. The desk clerk did go out and talk to the driver and he'd turn it off for about 10 min. (3 separate times).

This hotel is located exactly where you want to be. Close to everything, yet just enough out of the way to not feel crowded by the "big city." The staff here is friendly, wonderfully helpful, and quite conversational. The WI-Fi is fantastic, the pool is clean (though the pool area is a bit on the cool side) and the breakfast options are plentiful, even for gluten free folks. We have stayed here before, will stay again, and recommend highly. You can tell the staff takes pride in this location.

We stayed at this BW+ for a change of scenery. We normally stay in Niagara Falls when in the area, but thought we'd check out Lockport, which doesn't have the same 'tourist trap' feel to it, and room rates to match. Cherie checked us in for our two-night stay (paid for by our BW reward points-you gotta love it!) It was a quiet weekend at this Hotel, and we had the beautiful pool all to ourselves.There is also a well-equipped exercise room on site. Our room and the common areas were very clean. There were a few minor maintenance and maintenance staff issues which I'm sure have been resolved. One pet peeve- the shampoo/conditioner/wash gel dispenser in the shower. Please remove and mail back to 1965. The complimentary breakfast far exceeded our expectations, and the lady in charge pampered us. She's a 'keeper'. There isn't a restaurant on site, but there are eateries of every type and description within a very short walk or drive. If you like to check out the countryside, take a drive through Olcott and Lewiston, following the shore of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River, a short distance away.This is a very historic and picturesque area of the region. The Erie Canal is also a stones throw away. This Hotel is perfectly located for a day trip starting point. It's close to everything, but not in the middle of anything, which is great. Check it out.

The hotel was very quiet and clean. All staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and well presented. We were there on a very cold , windy night and found it difficult to keep the room warm. (This was not mentioned to management as we were just spending oe night there. Overall, I would still stay there again.

Hotel lobby displays some elegance. Breakfast and Beverly, the service staff, were fabulous. Cherrie (F/D) was helpful and friendly. Bed, duvet and pillows were comfy. TV channels were not working as against the list. Room was good. The Jennifer (F/D) was not helpful. The GM was great.

When inquired about the Local Tours, she took personal interest in finding few Tour providers and in fact she personally reached out to me and explained different options, which was very helpful. My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Lockport, NY while attending a funeral in the area. The front desk staff was helpful, efficient, and made us feel welcome. The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable. I would have rated the hotel excellent but for a few minor glitches in that the tissue dispenser and the shower wash dispenser were empty, although these issues were quickly resolved by the exceptional front desk staff. If I ever stay at a Best Western Plus hotel again, I would bring my own shampoo and conditioner since the provided amenities were of poorer quality. Also, as senior citizens, we found the entrance to the hotel very difficult to find and navigate at night. The best part of our stay was the amazing breakfast. Although the hotel states that it has a continental breakfast, it is much more than that. There is a warm breakfast with some of the best food I have ever had at a free hotel breakfast. You have to try the pancake maker. Pancakes are made individually (very quickly) with your choice of syrup, whipped cream, blueberries as toppings. They are amazing. Yum, Yum, Yum. There were also omelets, sausage, potatoes as well as the usual pastries, toaster items, cereal, juice, yogurt, etc. We would stay at the Best Western Plus again just for the breakfast!

"Nice Property"

Wanted a place to stay in Lockport as we had a tour at the Underground cave and along the Erie Canal Locks. This was perfect and we had enough points for a free stay. The room was bright and cheery, very comfortable bed. Nice shower. We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were all very nice. I especially liked that there was a door separating the guest rooms from the lobby. Makes for a more quiet experience. I also liked that they had smaller carts for luggage like at the airport. Much easier to manage. Nearby Walmart and other shopping and fast food.

Stayed here with my husband and kids on our way to Niagara Falls. The woman who checked us in was pleasant. We stayed on the first floor. The hallways were quite dark. The room was a standard room, but not as clean as I would prefer. The bed was quite uncomfortable as well. My children were hoping to use the pool, but it was murky so we didn't chance it. Breakfast was fine.

Having stayed at other Best Western properties with good experiences we choose this property because of its advertised value and close proximity to our destination, Niagara, Falls. We were not pleased with the stained carpet and lack of cleanliness ( vacuuming, unclean windows ) in the entryway and hallway to our 1st floor room, however the lobby was clean and staff courteous upon check in. Room cleanliness was poor and remained so even after reporting to the desk! We would not stay there again!

Mismanagement is the biggest problem along with broken equipment in the gym and issues with billing. The staff at the entrance don't know what they're doing or the hotel manager. The cleaning staff are very nice, but they don't clean until 7pm when you're back in your room and want to rest. The front desk told me it's because they often quit... well then pay them more! They're the most important staff in my opinion when I'm staying in a hotel.

We stayed 2 nights here for a wedding and a visit to Niagara Falls. Clean, decent breakfast (out of coffee both mornings though). TV remote broken..but didnt ask to be fixed. Quiet, clean room, good climate control. Would stay here again.

The General Manager, David, was so caring and understanding! Beverly, in the breakfast area, is a true credit to this facility. It shows in everything she does. She also makes all the table decor. We were exhausted when we arrived late at night driving there form Northern Kentucky. We were told that the price of one night stay would be about $80.00. Turns out we did not read what we signed. The bill was $116.00 before they added the NYS Room Tax which was $9.36 and the Bed tax was another $4.86 bringing the total to $131.03. When I spoke with the front desk person in the morning she showed me the paper that I had signed...$116.00. We though that the breakfast was to be open until about noon. We probably misunderstood. There was free wifi in the room. Our view was of a brick wall. Beware!

I empathize with you that what you expected to pay when renting a hotel room, wasn't what you ended up paying. I am looking to better understand the $80.00 rate that you felt was offered, yet I don't have any rate structure anywhere close to that price. The hotel is in the high demand season still and at any given night our rates wouldn't have been under $129.99 + tax unless offered a discount. Hotel taxes are unavoidable in most if not all states, which generally skews the end billing number for guests. Our complimentary Hot Breakfast Buffet, which is a great amenity of our hotel, is mentioned at check in and printed in our in-room guest directory, which is 6a-930a weekdays and 6a-10a on weekends. I feel bad you missed a chance to enjoy our great breakfast offering. I would love to have you stay again at my Best Western Plus Lockport if & when you travel back into the Niagara Region. Was an ok stay.But felt we paid more than what it was worth. Were told we had to pay for an excutive suite....and it was not any different than a regular room we normally pay around $100 for. We were told they were all booked up and that was all that was left but there were not hardly any cars in the parking lot.

The time you took to provide your review of your stay at my Best Western Plus Lockport Hotel is greatly appreciated. I apologize that you felt you paid a higher rate plan than you are accustomed to, yet this is a high demand period (May to September) that generally has a higher rate associated with it. The Hotel doesn't have any Suites, so I'm not sure of the room type you spent the night in, with only a 1 King Executive room that might have been your accommodation. We have had many sold out nights & with our large accommodating parking lot of over 250 spaces, guest perceptions are sometimes different than what truly occurred. My Best Western Plus Hotel has a Tour Bus Series almost every night with 1-2 buses occupying our lot, which could potentially be another answer. First, let me say that I believe the "small things" are what pretty much makes or breaks a business. The big, obvious things are pretty easy to get right and to stay on top of, but the small things paint a much better picture of the quality of a business and the attitude of the owner and staff. I booked this hotel for our stay in Lockport because the nearby choices were few and the overall reviews were pretty good. My first red flag was when we arrived and my wife, a native of the area, recognized the hotel as being one that had changed hands several times over the years. The exterior, grounds, and common areas all appeared clean and kept up and we were greeted by a very nice young lady at the desk who checked us in. The issues began when we opened the hall door to our first floor room behind the front desk area and were greeted by a hospital-like odor and noticed the very poor and sloppy paint work on the door frames. When we entered our room, the odor was, again, not unpleasant but very hospital-like with another odd odor we couldn't identify, nothing we couldn't live with for a night. The room itself, at first glance, appeared clean and somewhat updated except for the closet which appeared to have been forgotten when the last update was done... door missing with a curtain for a replacement, chipped paint, rusty bar, cord for iron not stored, etc. We also discovered the lamps apparently had not been dusted for several months. It wasn't until the next morning that I discovered the coffee maker had apparently also not been cleaned in several months, if ever...thick mineral buildup in reservoir and the same, along with dried coffee stains, in the pod holder(see attached pictures). I accidentally discovered at least part of the reason the coffee maker wasn't cleaned, it was secured to the cabinet by a clamp holding the cord so the machine could not be taken to the sink for cleaning. Again, these are all small things but they add up and definitely give a very poor impression of the staff and management. We discovered that a Hampton Inn had opened the day we arrived and was $10.00 per night cheaper so we decided to go ahead and stay at the Best Western Plus for the first night but cancel our second night. I was told by the desk clerk that would not be a problem but they would have to go ahead and put the charge through for the second night and it would later drop off our credit card(made no sense but hotels tend to have some strange accounting policies sometimes). When we got back home from our trip, I discovered that they had not only charged my credit card, which was used for the booking but changed to another card upon check in and should not have been charged for anything, let alone for two nights, but had also charged my wife's credit card, the one we authorized at check in, for two nights. At the time of this review, we are waiting to see if the charges drop off my account before calling the hotel, but they still should never have been made in the first place, one more reason for you to be wary of booking with this hotel.

I can value the statement of small things being the key to a successful business, yet I would like to provide some clarification on a few viewpoints that were noted from your review. My company has been in ownership of our hotel property for the past 13 years, and the brands have either been a Best Western (18 years) or a Holiday Inn (12 years) for the past 30 years combined. With regards to the closet area & curtain amenity in place of a door, this was specifically proposed & approved by Best Western Corp Office and supplied for our Hotel. I recognize it is a unique style, but it was not an oversight during our renovation package 3 years ago. Coffee makers have been found missing/taken by our guests which forced a decision by me to secure them, so as to avoid a missing amenity for our next guest. I have spoken to my management team to ensure consistency within all of our guest rooms. Stayed at this hotel two separate times during vacation. !st was excellent; very comfortable, nice clean room. 2nd stay was in a different room (probably older part of hotel) beds very comfortable but room could use a little tlc and the bath tub had no stopper.

This hotel had a good location. You could walk to places to eat. It was close to the canal rides. It was a basic hotel, nothing stood out as being outstanding. It could use more updating. The breakfast was average. Hotel staff friendly and helpful, person in charge of breakfast area had great interpersonal skills.

I want to recognize Beverly, who provided breakfast. She was constantly alert to customer needs. As entered the dining area she immediately asked to fill my water bottle and offer coffee to an elderly woman. She was constantly on the run, always smiling and making friendly comments. She even tried to use Japanese words with some foreign clients. Cudos to Beverly

A dump! This hotel is very over priced and out dated. The walls are paper thin and the people in the next room were talking until 1:00 am when they then turned on the TV. I could hear everything they were saying. The room was small and dark and the bathroom was tiny. The faucet leaked like a shower, there were no extra blankets in the room, and the pillows were flat and old.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast. Coffee was good. Hallways could've been swept. Bathroom was clean and updated. Bed was comfortable. They need real curtains to block the lamplight outside. Had trouble sleeping.

Way overpriced for 1 night. While the room was adequate there was no ironing board. Ice machine was a task to find and hallway door was creaky and I could hear it every time someone entered or left the wing. Do yourself a favor and price shop. cost me 167.00 for the night and only stayed there because of wedding group discount which I have no idea actually existed. You could do better at a motel for a lot less.

Spent two nights here and found the place to be "okay". It's an older building but well taken care of and it seems like they have done some renovations recently. The staff was friendly. The location is pretty good but it can be tricky turning out of the parking lot into the main road due to all the traffic at times. Our room was clean but I did notice a layer of dust on the head board of the bed. The bathroom was small and the shower curtain was falling apart. All in all this hotel was fine but you can tell they don't have much competition to make them try harder.

This hotel had a serious security issue causing me to leave in the middle of the night. I requested a refund because of the lack of security, was promised the same but received NOTHING. The lack of security is a serious problem. Even management knew security doors were being blocked open with things such as stone, beer cans littered the rear entrance area, beer cases where used as seats nothing was done. Not feeling safe of allowing who knows who to roam the halls I left the hotel. Never have I seen a Best Western with such conditions.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Apparently there was an issue with the pancake/waffle maker, but they had french toast sticks available, so the kids were still pleased ;) Perfect location!! Close enough to all the attractions we wanted to visit, but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet.

My family and I traveled to Lockport, NY to visit Niagara Falls, New York. We were extremely pleased with the hotel and the services received. The breakfasts were fabulous. Be sure to check out the pancake machine! My daughter's vacation breakfast of choice were pancakes with whipped cream and chocolate chips! The pool was clean and stocked with towels. The check in and check out process was easy and those at the front desk were friendly. We had an issue with housekeeping leaving our door open one day. I immediately reported it to the front desk and then spoke with the GM when I checked out. The issue was taken care of immediately. The hotel is approx. 30 minutes to the Falls and very close to the Erie Canal! We enjoyed exploring the town of Lockport, as well.

Staff and breakfast were wonderful, i.e., pleasant, helpful, always smiling. Was surprised by the sounds that penetrated the room. I know you can't control guests' noise, but this was normal conversations and foot traffic. We'd stay again, but I think I'd ask for a different room.

The wife and I stayed here 4 nights in a row as we had some things to take care of nearby. The hotel staff was outstanding. They were all friendly, helpful, and every single person who worked here would greet you if you passed in the hallway. Breakfast was the typical standard offerings that is typical of any chain hotel, so nothing special or surprising in that regard. I am deducting one star for the lack of upkeep for this hotel. It must be known that while there is a lot of upkeep that needs to be done, it had absolutely no negative outcome on our experience. I am noting it here on TripAdvisor simply because these reviews are generally seen by management. Although spotless and impeccably clean, out room was showing its wear and tear. There were paint chips taken out of furniture and the bottom edges of the doors of our room. Specifically the shower wall had mildew stains everywhere, and the shower curtain was ripped and torn in several places. Again, not a big deal to us, but somebody is bound to notice and make a big deal out of it. The hallway was another matter. There were scratches all down the walls as if Edward Scissorhands had been playing in the hallway. Also the carpet had small bits of garbage scattered all over the place. Again, no big deal to us, but it is worth noting. All things considered, I would stay here again if I were to be in the area.

Great Hotel with excellent staff! Wonderful breakfast and especially clean rooms. I felt like I was being spoilt by a great group of friends and family. We were in western NY for a family reunion and several of us stayed here. From check-in to check out, we were treated so well. The staff is terrific and very helpful, the rooms are clean and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming. There was a tour bus that visited as well during our stay, and the breakfast crew did a tremendous job keeping up with the constant clean up and refilling the chafing dishes. We will certainly return.

the staff, and I will name them all: Dave Juan Joanne Theresa Tina Marissa Candy et al where so friendly and kind I nearly extended my stay, Don't get me started about breakfast!' In Los Angeles I rise at 11am for my day. I was at the buffet at 6am (3am my time) and it was full of variety and quality. Spent a lot of time in the indoor pool and it was amazing! The room (110) was so clean fresh and comfortable I hated to leave.The shampoo, conditioner, shower gel dispenser was awesome. I was here 4 days with part of my family. we had 6 rooms. I hate to leave but must return to a responsible like in Los ANgeles! is 6 starts out of the question?

Great hotel located near Niagara Falls in the beautiful city of Lockport New York. David the manager takes very good care of the hotel and gives it a personal touch. Wanted to take the time to let everyone who is thinking about booking a room from the Best Western Plus hotel in Lockport, NY know that I checked into room 201 on Friday the 22nd and immediately got my son into the shower to turn around and see my 2 year old standing next to an open refrigerator with a HYPODERMIC NEEDLE filled with 5 cc's of God knows what. Upon further complaint I was reluctantly given my $86 dollars back and then told that the manager of the hotel had personally examined the room on March 27th and found nothing in it at all. Furthermore, he stated I was the only one to rent it out and without saying so, STRONGLY insinuated that maybe I had placed it there myself. Totally inappropriate treatment of a guest by not even attempting to apologize and then insinuating that I would make this up for fun, complete lack of compassion and understanding, and absolute lack of quality training if indeed the staff is not checking all areas of the room before re-renting it, or worse, going into the rooms sporadically to eat lunch and get high. Highly disappointed....

Everything about this hotel was great! I couldn't have been more pleased with the service and the accommodations. Comfortable room, very clean, and most of all friendly and efficient staff that helped us to really enjoy our stay. The breakfast that was served each morning was very good. I would Definitely stay here again if I travel back to Lockport, NY. =)

Best price in town! Had to stop by the area for a night, on my way travel to Canada. Honestly with this price, I wasn't expecting much more than a 3 star hotel, Check in and out are smooth, room are clean, beds are comfortable, great complementary breakfast, That's all I'm looking for! I have stayed at the property for my two days trips. it was impressed me that how nice their front desk lady is!!! when I got into the room which is in the back of hallway, it was quiet and clean. I enjoy the trip petty much.

We had to be up in the area Buffalo/Niagara Falls for a new business venture and we didn't want to spend a fortune so we chose this property. From the front desk to the breakfast and most comfortable bed, our stay there was exceptional. I would totally recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay!!

Conveniently located near the Niagara Falls and Eerie Canal attractions. Accommodations were good, and the people were wonderful. Breakfast was great with a good selection. I felt very comfortable here and enjoyed our visit. I would stay again!

I wouldn't normally give this hotel a '5', because it is not a luxurious place. But for the price, it cannot be beat! I got my reservation on a common hotels website, and paid less than $80 for a really nice room that offered me everything I needed. Neat, clean, comfortable, and more. The breakfast buffet (which I did not use this time) is also more than enough, with a wide array of breakfast items to satisfy almost anyone. I did have a loud family nearby my room, but they didn't really bother me. They were only noisy around checkout time. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for the value and price.

When looking for a place to stay in the area, there were not a lot of options. This place is only a 3 star but staying here for 3 nights we realized that this hotel had 4 star service and a very good breakfast especialy for the price. Everything was also very clean. Check in and out was very easy and mentioning to my wife about getting a bottle of wine they offered an wine bottle opener. When we were getting read to leave the day Manager offered to print our boarding passes. When is the last time somebody did that? They had a variety of breakfast items and the attendant made sure everyone had everything they needed and took completed plates away! I guess this is what you would call above and beyond expectations. I highly reccomend this hotel.

"more than we hoped for"

Visiting family in the area, we were hoping for something that would be clean and nice. This hotel was much more. Very clean, well maintained, and apparently recently updated. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good, the usual choices, but in a bright and cheerful room and it was well stocked every time we were in there. The room was very clean and updated, with a desk area and a couple of chairs. The bed was, happily, comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Best Western Lockport is a very good option if you are staying in the Lockport, NY area. Rooms are clean and nice décor. Bathrooms a little out dated size of room is average. Very nice continental breakfast, nice pool area for kids. The price for the room was a good value after checking other options. I will stay again here if I am in the area.

Just a quick overnight stay, but super friendly staff and very clean rooms. The breakfast was quite good and not your usual toast and coffee. Eggs, Sausage, French Toast, Pancakes, Muffins, Bagels, Juice, Fruit. Great spread and the lovely lady that looks after the breakfast area is super nice. Indoor pool and gym as well. Would stay again for sure.

Nice enough in all regards except for lack of soundproofing between rooms. We were in town for a funeral and got little sleep due to...literally...all night partiers in next room. They were still going strong at 8 am!

Decor needs a little refreshing but a great/clean hotel. The staff (and there aren't many!) were so pleasant and did everything to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast was good and the woman (Beverly I think her name was) worked her butt off to keep it stocked and clean. We would come back again simply because of the great staff.

We stayed here 6 nights November when visiting family over Thanksgiving. It's a great option for us and the standard of the hotel is good. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend it and we will definitely stay here next time we visit Lockport!

I stayed at this hotel as the sewing seminar I attended was located here. It was an excellent experience. Hotel staff was friendly and professional, and the hotel was very neat and clean. Breakfast each morning was an added plus. I will consider staying at a Best Western in the future.

"Weekend Break and Shopping Spree"

Breakfast was great prepared by Beverlyjo who was looking after in this area (excellent job). The night FD was good and efficient. On the other hand, I was shocked to get a room with many grab bars plus a shower seat in the bathroom upon checked in. I immediately reported it and explained to the FD that this is very insulting as we're not handicapped and old. I did not ask for it/them prior to booking over the phone. I was about to cancel but the FD found a replacement, a better one. No idea whether the FD knew about the bathroom. I would give her the benefit of the doubt. Overall, the hotel is nice except that there's no sauna and hot tub to complement the swimming pool and fitness center. Other Bestwestern locations do.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights(Nov 27 & 28th) and had a very good experience. The lobby reception area is very spacious and attractively decorated. Our room with 2 double beds was very comfortable. The beds were excellent and the linens and towels were very good. The bathroom is small but adequate. Nice to have a dispenser for gels and shampoo above the tub. The buffet breakfast offered a very good selection. We would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, good beds/pillows/linens (holiday inn branded bedding :) ) and a better breakfast than the Hilton I had stayed at the night before. Rooms had been remodeled in the past (probably when still a HI), but design flaws of no soundproofing between rooms can be an issue for lighter sleepers. Basic noise can be heard from adjoining rooms (regular conversations, tv, taps/toilet).

While passing through New York on my way to Canada, my fiance and I stopped at this particular Best Western to spend the night. We've stayed in other Best Western hotels in and around the area, but this particular location definitely exceeded our expectations. For one thing, the hotel is visibly quite new. The furniture in the lobby and breakfast areas is in excellent condition and the carpet is clean throughout. The room itself (a King-sized bed in the "executive wing") was generously sized and was in immaculate condition. My one complaint is that the 40" TV was a bit of a waste given the fact that the hotel did not seem to have an HD signal. Despite my initial concern that this hotel appeared to be situated among strip mall after strip mall, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that downtown Lockport is a mere mile and a half away. When we drove into town for dinner, the drive only took about 5 minutes. The complimentary breakfast is about the same that you can expect from other hotels in this price range (pastries, overcooked eggs, etc.) with one notable exception. This particular location features a one-touch pancake machine! You read that correctly, if you want a pancake for breakfast, all you have to do is press a button! Sure, the pancake comes out a little flat and rubbery, but it's still pretty cool. I haven't stayed at any other hotel in Lockport, but given my first impression, I'll certainly stay here again the next time I find myself back in town.

Got a good deal on a King bed room by calling the hotel directly. Stayed 2 weekend nights. We arrived at 6pm on a Friday...the girl at the desk seemed to think our room was not ready...quite upsetting after an hour drive...and a parking lot with only a handful of cars!! Lobby was beautiful. Our room was very tiny. Bed comfortable. Linens very nice. Thick towels. Room and linens smelled very nice. Nice sized tv. Heating/AC very efficient. No plug for bath tub...disappointed I could not soak in the tub. Breakfast was pleasant...and free. All and all a nice place...will use this facility again if we get another great price!!!

Even with a noise issue, this was the best hotel to stay at in Lockport. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Niagara Falls is about 1/2 hour away, there are wineries close by, the Erie Canal is close and a great ice cream shop, Lake Effect Ice Cream, is to die for.

We had to be in town for a few days for a family emergency. This hotel was affordable and clean! The only complaint was there are no microwaves in the rooms. Other than that....it was perfect for our needs! The breakfast in the lobby was well above average for this type of hotel. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The location is on the main street of Lockport. Easy access to restaurants and hospitals. We will definitely staff here again!

watch out my fellow field service engineers they will hit your cc with taxes and cleaning fee the hotel was not clean exterior interior was ok but dated room was terrible smelled had to request sheets the ones on the bed were stained the carpet in rooms is worn out i did not feel my vehicle was safe and the hallway smoke alarms were going off every 15 minutes through out the hotel

Thank you for corresponding about your hotel stay. Unfortunately I am unable to agree with your review of the hotel. The Best Western Plus Lockport Hotel is a 100% Smoke Free Hotel and your room was found to have been smoked in with evidence of a Marlboro package & a cigarette butt. Therefore as stated on our registration card that you signed, initialed and acknowledged, the $250 cleaning fee is valid. A fire alarm did go off for 4 minutes as a foreign traveler accidentally pulled the alarm lever instead of the door opener. It was quickly silenced. The hotel was renovated within the last 1 and 1/2 years and is always maintained very well. I do wish I had been afforded an opportunity to speak with in person or by phone to discuss any concerns you had, yet I was not. We used this hotel for a visit with family nearby. The hotel was clean and employees friendly. They had us on second floor, upon arrival I asked for first floor and they made it possible. At four in five in the morning, check out was a little slow. Only bad thing I can really say about this hotel is, that you can hear the neighbors when they get a little carried away.

Nice hotel. People are very accommodating. The hot breakfast is good with plenty of table space. Like the pancake maker and the lady in charge of breakfast. Very warm, lovely lady! The rooms are clean and spacious but a bit dated. Stayed 2 nights. Would stay again.

Great value. Loved the king bed and the bathroom was very nice. Was in town for a wedding and the other hotels didn't serve breakfast so that's why we picked here. Well worth the extra few dollars. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast attendant lady was very energetic, even at 6am!

This was a three night stay and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service and the accommodations. Comfortable room, very clean, and a friendly and efficient staff helped us to really enjoy our stay and not worry about anything. The breakfast that was served each morning was well stocked, and offered in a very clean breakfast room. There was even plenty of USA Today newspapers to go around! Definitely will stay here again.

"Good size rooms"

We only stayed here one night on the ways to Niagara Falls which isn't far from there is you wanted to use Lockport as a base. The rooms were a goodsize and bathroom too. Desk, drawers iron etc all provided. Furniture dark. Rooms were quiet. We had a downstairs rooms easy accessible from a carpark around the side instead of having to walk through the lobby. A good size indoor poor and fitness centre walking up the hall to the breakfast room. Good hot coffee to drink there or take away, juices, toast, pancakes, cereals, eggs and sausage. Topped up regularly. Plenty of tables

"Top class property, comfortable, clean, good value"

This hotel has everything you could want, an indoor pool, a fitness room, good sized rooms, very clean, and close to all local attractions. Has plenty of parking and you can walk to a couple of restaurants. There is a shopping mall just down the road where you can get supplies. As a bonus Lockport is only about 30minutes from Niagara and the falls and about the same to Fort Niagara.

Lockport has a lot to offer and this hotel is a good location to visit. Facilities are a bit dated, but there is a great gym room & pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included but stick to the basics! Pass on the powered eggs and so so sausage. Rooms are clean, but decor needs upgrading! TV & wifi work just fine.
