"Hit and Run on the hotel's private ground--no responsibility assumed; no camera coverage"

imagine coming back to your car at night, thinking happily of returning home to reunite with your family. Imagine seeing your car, on the hotel's private lot, completely smashed by a hit and run driver (by the way, it is illegal in the state of Missouri not to leave a note but who care?). Imagine Best Western apologizing (since it does not cost a penny) but not even offering to refund what you paid for the parking. Worst, had my two little doggies been in the car, they would have been killed. This is what happened to me on September 28, 2019. I ought to mention the hotel's night manager who was extremely helpful in such dire straights-thank you, truly.

First opinion was 2, but after seeing a sign at the breakfast room few hours after we checked in that it was closed by the health department it lost a star. Made us lose confidence in deep cleaniness. Hotel needs to quit advertising free breakfast. Staff was pleasant though.

The Hotel was as advertised. I would call it above description. Two secret weapons that this Hotel Property has that are not in the brochure is a Man named Kameron and a Woman name Sidney(hope I spelled these correctly). These individual have a excellent personality, humble, kind and funny. These two could do any job given I would imagine. I watched as they handled a volume of guest that would overwhelm most. I would imagine it was a difficult night for them. Excellent coping skills. I would like to thank them and the other staff for the enjoyable stay. I am a US Government employee on liesure travel. I will come back here any chance I get. I wish I could stay longer. P.S. The very nice front desk team on Morning duty on Monday 9/29/22019 was just icing on the cake. I would reccomend this peoperty to anyone travelling. Thanks again!

wonderful room,quiet, very roomy and clean and the bed so comfortable made for great night sleep. Great hotel for staying when going to airport because low cost for parking. Great for getting to airport on time. But experienced a 30 minute delay being picked up from airport to hotel. Hopefully this issue will be corrected. Really loved this hotel.

"These people just didn't care"

We had called ahead to ask about parking and were told it was free up to 7 days if you stayed for a night. Awesome that's why we booked this hotel. Unfortunately not the case when we arrived the front desk associate told us no there is no way that was the deal. So we explained the situation and he told us that it's not his fault his coworkers are incompetent. We told him no worries this was frustrating and for the two dollar a day savings we'd rather just park at the airport unless he could accommodate us in some way. He made it clear he couldn't discount anything or help in any way. That plus the bad attitude just left us with a one star feeling. Also the rooms are meh and the floors are uncarpeted in the room which is strange. I'm sure there are better options near the airport and honestly for the cost booking further away and just taking an Uber would have probably been the better choice.

We decided to stay at this hotel in order to make our next day flight on time. Extremely easy check in and imagine our surprise at the new renovation in our room. The colors were beautiful and the carpet gone which was great! The breakfast advertised continental but was a full spread. I have no problem staying there again if I fly out of KC>

This place is so outdated with ok rooms nothing special... Dried up Blood stains on sheets and towels! Hallways and elevators were sloppy and greasy fingerprints all over the walls. Urine smell in hallway by elevator! Breakfast was disgusting better off getting a breakfast sandwich from one the nearby gas stations. if you wish to be in the middle of a war zone this hotel is for you. the hotel parking lot was riddled with used syringes and discarded feminine hygiene products. Potholes the size of tires.. Absolutely beware and stay away. Never again will I stay at any SureStay!!!

"Weird experience"

Nobody's faulty, really. When we arrive at hotel at almost midnight, two police officers were questioning a man who claimed his girlfriend was locked in one of the guest rooms and had fallen asleep with him locked out. It was a bit unnerving, wondering what was going to happen next. But we got up to our room and slept well on a very comfortable bed. Staff was fine.

"Good place to stay when flying out"

Room was fine for a one-night stay before flying out. Bathroom area is not big, but adequate. Carpet was dirty in hall, but we checked in late at night, so I'm sure it was taken care of in the morning

"THE ABSOLUTE BEST WITH GREAT STAFF!!!!"

This place is great. Staff Awesome, they are under renovations however it never once disturbed me. The breakfast is soooo good they have scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, all kinds of pastries and alot more. To top things off they had free shuttle services if you park your car which I did. I am thankful for the manager Daren, there was a rude gentleman who was using such foul language during breakfast with many other people and babies and children present. Daren came over to the man and ask him to watch his mouth or he would have to leave. talk about great customer care. I will definitely stay here again thanks for a wonderful stay and taking care of my car!

"Comfortable bed and quiet perfect tv made me feel at home use the tec support for internet worth it."

The beds were Very comfortable The TVs were very nice At home TV stations showed up perfect only bad thing is you can smell cigarette when people smoked on there balcony! If you use tech-support for Internet android box or PlayStation 4 used tech-support and I have no problem watching Netflix and Hulu while at the hotel.

"Park and Fly service very sporadic"

I waited 45 mins and 25 mins to be picked up during last 2 weeks. Road construction slowed traffic 45 mins was unacceptable. The second time, I was told to expect Van shortly. I called back demanding refund to make a point about the service. Front deck declined and provided customer support. I doubt anything happens. If you have time to burn after a business trip, these guys are OK. Plus parking lot is a pot hole mess.

"Dirty sheets and broken elevator"

The sheets on my bed were dirty from the last guest. When I complained, front desk staff (Jesse) didn't seems surprised. He just told me to place them outside my door, like it was a normal occurance. I clarified that they had given me a room with dirty sheets on the bed - no reaction from him. The only elevator, which already looked like a death trap, broke down while I was there. There are a total of seven floors, so that's something to consider.

An excellent hotel to stay at. I was stranded without a room to stay at for an evening and the hotel staff was very accommodating to supply one. A very clean, safe and secure hotel, that I will definitely stay at again when I am in the area. He hotel shuttle was also very flexible. 10 stars Lastly, they offer two types of pillows - the padded pillow and the hammock pillow. A nice choice for us as travelers

Very clean, comfortable, super spacious room!! I only wish I would have been staying longer! There's also a really cool restaurant close by called Scott's Kitchen. GREAT FOOD!! I also love the fact that there's NO CARPET in the rooms!! Contemporary decor!

"They saved our weekend!"

I had made a pre-paid reservation at another hotel in KC. When I arrived at the other place at 11 pm - they had no available rooms... Helpful Agoda Rep suggest SureStay Plus in KC... It saved our weekend. The hotel was MUCH, MUCH nicer than the other. SURESTAY PLUS was very nice. Rooms were nice, breakfast was nice, swimming pool was nice (a little cool - but that is a personal thing). But the real gem of Sure Stay Plus was Jesse, who worked at the front desk. During our two night stay we had several interactions with him... And no matter who he talked with - he gave them his undivided attention and took the time necessary. He is a real asset. We will stay at Sure Stay Plus again.

"Decent for 1-night"

We stayed in this hotel for one night before an early morning flight. It was good for that, however, I would not want an extended stay in this resort at this time. It is currently undergoing what looks like a major reno, which I'm sure will be nice when completed, but the pool area needed serious attention and felt unclean. I had to walk dripping to the front desk to ask for towels and the young man said he'd bring them right out. 30 minutes later when we were ready to leave to our room, I had to go and ask for them again. The room felt clean when you first arrived, but under closer inspection might not have been ask clean as I would have liked with children. There was noticeable dust on the new title/hardwood style floors and lots of hair around the base of the toilet and in the tub. The tub itself was very marked up and my children refused to sit in it which meant attempting to give a shower to a 3 year old. Our feet were dirty as we got into bed that evening which didn't feel good. For the price though and location to airport, it was amazing. We were park in the economy lot in less than 10 minutes.

This location was a pleasant surprise. Reasonably priced, clean, comfortable and quiet. Nothing fancy, but certainly served my needs (and not overpriced). The shuttle worked great...efficient and the driver very pleasant. I would defintely stay again.

The rooms are oaky. But the housekeeping staff needs to learn how to thoroughly clean each and every room. Dust is everywhere in my room 705 especially around the refrigerator. The base of the toilet is filthy. Renovations is going on now and it's a bit noisy. Ice machines are not on every floor. The guy at the front desk is a bit rude. Once the renovations ate done this will be a nice hotel.

It was an okay stay. I think they could have done better with the cleanliness. The breakfast wasnt that great. The noise level was distracting. Thank goodness it was our last night. I'm not sure if I will stay here again.

"Great place to stay for flying out of MCI"

This property is an older hotel that has had some updates. We stayed there because of it's location to the airport, they offered long term parking (approx. $5 a day), and airport transfers. The room was clean and I liked that it had a tiled floor and not carpet - seemed cleaner that way. They offer a breakfast, but didn't experience it because we had to leave the hotel by 4:20 am to get to the airport. Transfers were prompt and the employees were helpful!

"Wont stay here again"

Stayed here and left our car before a cruise. very close to airport and shuttle was great. However, we came back from dinner and found a man sleeping on our room. Front desk thought we were in another room. How do keys work if we were assigned another room. Wallpaper fallin off wall in hallway on 6th floor. Just a very creepy stay that wont happen again.

Clean remodeled room Friendly front desk staff, signed up for airport shuttle at front desk very quickly. common areas have that remodeling smell. A reasonable extended parking rate. this is a perfect place for an over nite lay over, or as we did stay for an early flight.

First impressions were good however things quickly changed. Splatters on the wall, roaches and bed bugs in my bed, hot tub closed by health dept and pool is gross. I wouldn't stay here again. Still waiting on my partial refund.

Mold in a lot of places. Stinky common areas. Not clean bathroom. Hot water not working right. Pool cloudy and roof parts falling into pool. Breakfast really poor. Hotel staff on their phones or outside smoking or talking in back amongst each other and not friendly. Hotel is not near anything useful.

we visited KC for tournament and it was great location. close to everything. staff was friendly and breakfast was excellent. we did not have time to enjoy pool but it looked great. great choice for quick stop.

Was recently in KC for a wedding and enjoyed our stay here. Very close to the airport, friendly shuttle driver and very helpful. Check in and out were a breeze the staff was friendly and fast. The room was very clean and a nice size, super comfortable bed. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

I love this hotel! The staff is great! There is an indoor pool, plenty of restaurants near by and an airport shuttle that will take you to catch your flight and pick you up on your return while you leave your car there for only 5 bucks a day! This will be my new go-to when I'm in KC!!

My family and I enjoyed our stay and would visit again for a short trip. The breakfast wasn't the best but that was not a big deal for us as we can always go elsewhere for that. The rooms were clean and updated and the beds were comfortable.

This hotel has several flaws, not recognizing platinum rewards members is where it started at check in and nothing really improved from there. Only good thing about this stay was that it was only for one night. I won't stay here again.

I have stayed at this property 3 times now over the last year. Rooms are very nice and comfy. Lobby is nice too. Breakfast was lacking. Unless you get down there when it opens, everything is picked over. However, for the money, this is a great place to stay.

It is clean, new, modern and so close to the airport. This is not the place to go to relax or vacation but it is perfect if you need to be at the Kansas City airport early or arrive late. Booked 6 rooms, expecting a pool. Came first day pool closed Breakfast the first day no waffle mix no butter no peanut butter no one willing to help. Room had 1bath towel. Frustrated I booked at this hotel. We use the stairs instead of elevator they were dark and dirty. Outside area very run down.

Selected this hotel based on the advertisement of having an indoor pool. Hotel website stated that the bar was closed due to renovation but made no mention of the pool being closed. I did not know the pool was closed for repairs until I was checking in, by then it was to late to cancel my reservation. The breakfast was the worst that I have seen. There were cold biscuits that felt like they had just been taken out of the refrigerator for the biscuits and gravy. The prepared eggs were sitting in a pan of water, sausage was also sitting in water and did not look at all appetizing. I had to heat everything up in the microwave. The second morning we went out to eat breakfast instead of having to put up with the lousy choice at the hotel. Water in the shower had VERY low pressure and did not get very hot, only warm. The walls around the common areas had peeling wallpaper and looked like the hotel was falling apart.

Considering the price payed for one night stay I couldn't complain. The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable. They offer a 24/7 coffee for free but is horrible. Breakfast was included and wasn't the worst I've had.

Rooms were reserved at this hotel as part of a stay and play for a volleyball tournament by a hotel parent. The quality of the cleanliness, decor, and lighting is very poor. Many of the rooms were dirty and recent upgrades were sloppy.

Check in was less than friendly. Was told we should have called them to book directly, since we wanted the parking package while we are on our trip. Felt like we were putting them out when asking to take advantage of paying to park while we fly. Floors seemed dirty/sticky, had an open hole in the wall where an old thermostat seemed to be. 6th floor has barely any water pressure, and I took a luke warm shower, at best. Bed was comfortable, so I did get a decent nights sleep. And nice to have an early morning shuttle to the airport (4:40am!).

We parked our suburban here while our family was on vacation in Florida. When we returned our car was gone. The manager was completely rude and refused to help us in any way. They refused to give us a ride to the impound lot, refused to call us a cab, and refused to give us our money back. After speaking with KCPD, I found out that this establishment lets drug addicts loiter in the parking lot. DO NOT PARK HERE!!!!

I booked this hotel the night before a 7 AM flight out of MCI. It ticked all the boxes: only 3 miles from the airport, pretty easy to find with a good GPS (in a complex with other hotels), frequent shuttles. Note that if you're using the Park and Fly package you have to park behind the hotel after unloading. The hotel appears new or newly-remodeled; one aspect I rarely see is tile floors rather than carpeting. Probably much easier to keep clean but it was cold to my feet before the heat kicked in! Room was equipped with a coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge. There was a fitness center but I didn't check it out. Wake-up call came as requested and they were able to accommodate me on an earlier shuttle than I'd booked when I was ready early. I left before breakfast was out but it had a reasonable variety of things: waffles, cereal, yogurt, 3 types of juice and a basket of apples. I was grateful for the in-room coffee maker. Good stay and would use again.

Sure Stay is fairly new, and part of the Best Western family, but don't think Best Western here, as the hotel does not try to emulate BW. It is extremely affordable and for a business trip exactly what was needed over five nights with no time spent there during the day. Shuttle service to/from MCI Airport and/or rental car agencies (both 5 minutes away) was frequent and easy, morning breakfast more than adequate, and the king bed was extremely comfortable, so large that one side of it may have been in Kansas, not Missouri! The staff were very accomodating and attentive, and all seemed trained to do anyhting required, covering and helping each other. Only two items were of concern: 1) both the bathroom sink and tub drains backed up and it took two days to get those fixed; 2) my 7th floor room had no water pressure in the shower and the “hot” water was warm at best. The sink was fine. That never changed. But for a business stay only 20 easy minutes to downtown Kansas City at a rate that can't be beat, SureStay is THE place with incredible convenience to the airport.

We parked before our trip. The shuttle was very nice, driver was very helpful. When we returned it was late and after gathering our bags we called them and they picked us up within 5 minutes. The room was clean, warm, and comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

The room was nice when you first look. Balcony was pretty on a snowy day. Closer look at the room, was a little ghetto. The outlet was crooked like super crooked. And then we tried to see if we could plug something in to it. Didn't even work. There was blood on the wall, gross, and I know someone saw it because I noticed it first thing when I turned around. The floor was not swept or mopped. I went to take a shower and the drain to the tub was so stopped up that there was still water in the tub 2 hours later slowly draining. The breakfast was disgusting, water down fake eggs and the gravy was straight liquid with something that sort of looked like sausage. The only thing that was edible was the prepackaged yogurt. I would never go to this hotel again. Not even at an even more discounted rate than what I paid.

Front desk staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was several notches above continental with eggs and sausage that I wasn't expecting. Toilet and bathroom floor could have used a good scrubbing but otherwise the room was fine. Surprisingly quiet for being right across the highway from the airport. The room was not carpeted which I'm sure is easier to keep clean but made the room feel cold and institutional. The worst part of this stay was the number of text messages I received afterwards asking me to write this review. :-)

I had a reservation at the SureStay for 1am. Temp at time of arrival in KC MO, 16*. My room had NO heat turned on. Temp at time of arrival to room, 54*, at 11am check out it had climbed to a whole 58*. I am attributing this to body heat. At 5am, they did offer to move me to another room with NO heat on. Customer service, POOR. SOOOOOO, my moral to this story, if staying here, take your own heat.

Stepped & slid in vomit at door in brand new shoes. Desk clerks could care less. Stood there for 20 mins before 1 would even look at where it happened. No offer of help cleaning my shoes. Sink clogged in room for 4hrs before they fixed it. Shoes smell like vomit for my first cruise ever! Very unhappy.

We stayed at this hotel in November, 2018. It is ok for the rate. The check in staff was very nice and fast. The hotel was under some remodeling, so there are some things left to do. Upon return to Kansas City, I called the hotel for a ride and was advised that service ended at 12:00 midnight. I ask what time it was and was told 12:02 and was advised that they would not pick us up. I had to find a cab at midnight. For this reason, we will not be staying at this hotel again.

I drove 12 1/2 hours to come stay for ten days at this hotel and I have talked to the day shift and mid shift and they new I was paying in can and I was told the deposit was 100 i come to check in and the night auditor was really rude then she came out side stood behind my car and acted like she was on the phone with the police for what I don't know but I would have loved to spend 700 in cash with this hotel but it only takes one rude person

Took our kids on a mini vacation away from home , even though they are going through renovations we enjoyed our stay,staff was very friendly, breakfast was nice,room was awesome,we will definitely be back again.

"Price $5 higher than booked through BW"

Booked this hotel thru BW a month in advance using my Gold Membership number. Price was $5 more on check in than my BW reservation...Had my guarantee in hand. Did not honor my price because I made it thru BW. ?? Never have had this problem with any hotel chain. I finally ended up talking to BW customer service and a refund will be issued to my card on file. Hopefully. Staff was friendly, room was ok..apparent that the hotel is under remodeling. Many areas where cleanliness is an issue. Management needs to step in and get things under control..perhaps they opened too soon, before they were ready. Won't stay again.

Stayed at this hotel the first and last night of our week long visit to Branson. I chose this hotel because of the location close to the airport, the price was reasonable and I prefer the Best Western chain. The hotel has obviously been recently renovated/redecorated (not quite complete) and had large comfortable rooms. We found the bed comfortable and the room clean. I like that the carpet has been removed and replaced with laminate/tile. You never know what is hidden in the carpet of hotel rooms. We had a long delay checking in the first night due to a computer problem, which obviously was out of their control, but it was frustrating that they did not offer to put us in our room while they tried to fix the problem. After an hour+ I asked to please get a room. We were tired from a long day of travelling. After some paperwork and ID photo copies we finally got to the room and signed in later. The breakfast is average, convenient and appreciated. The staff were polite. There are a few negatives. Both stays we had problems with the Wifi constantly dropping. Had to log in with the password way too often. And... there were plumbing issues in both the rooms we stayed in. First night, Rm 613. When I pulled the shower leaver up on the water spout, the spout came off the wall and spun around. So... I pushed it back into place. The toilet did not flush properly. Seemed like the tank was not filling properly. I took the lid off and noticed the water draining as It came in. To solve the problem I pushed down on a piece of plumbing in the tank which let the tank fill up and I was able to flush. Rm 710, our second night, the sink tap has the hot and cold reversed, and this time the water handle in the tub/shower fell off when I turn the dial. Seems the plumbers are not paying attention to detail. Lastly both rooms had Poor water pressure in the shower and the drain would back up. Did I tell someone at the front desk when I checked out...yes! But they didn't seem all that concerned or interested. Would I stay here again? Maybe... but not likely to be in Kansas City again.

"Too many cons"

Pros- Newly remodeled Neutral- Breakfast buffet- not great, not awful Cons- Hot in hallways Smelled like dog ( pet friendly) WiFi down most of the time or would drop Mediocre staff Cheap amenities- slivers of wrapped soap, 1 TB shampoo/conditioner packs

First the good it id remodeled th rooms are nice. The bad after checkeng out found out i was bille an extra $150 for smoking pot. I smoke nothing. said could do nothing about the charge. They are crooks do not stay

"Disappointing for a BW"

This stay didn't “wow” me by any stretch of the imagination. You can tell they are “hiring” as they seem really understaffed and I'm guessing the staff they do have is wore out from doing several jobs like front desk/cleaning/breakfast. It's being re-branded and renovations are being attempted I think but it just wasn't a place I'll stay at again (and we are in KC quite a bit). Room was clean, breakfast was “ok”. Didn't even get asked how our stay was at checkout.

It has been recently refurbished with new beds and furniture. The new pillow top mattress was great and the property is quiet. I felt bad for the owners as I looked at the quality of the construction work. Our room was clean, but the halls and elevator have lots of construction dust and dirt. Only one working ice machine on 4th floor. Once it is cleaned up, it may be an ok place. I'm just glad my wife is a good sport!

I'm sorry your stay with us was not exceptional. Unfortunately, it is very hard to keep up with the dust and dirt from the renovations and construction debris. Good news is we have another ice machine in the kitchen and will gladly get ice for guests from it. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will sty again once everything is completed.

I am a Best Western Gold member and chose this hotel to use points and credits. We stayed twice within 10 days. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The King rooms were clean, large and comfortable. We stayed on the 6 and 7 floor and there is only one elevator which was old and slow. On our second stay, the fire alarm went off 3 times in the night, we called front desk after first alarm and they said it must be dust from construction. It was a little unsettling. But they are trying very hard and the airport shuttle was right on time and very friendly. Once renovation is complete should be a great budget friendly choice.

We stayed at this share stay hotel for the first time. They have completely remodeled and old hotel near the airport. Everything is modern and clean. Staff at the front desk was very courteous and polite. The rooms are huge and completely remodeled with new fixtures new beds and a large TV. Bathroom has a sink outside which really helps and everything was in great working order. I have airport shuttle and a nothing fancy but I had a quick breakfast. We would definitely stay again highly recommend also a very nice pool area

Stayed at this hotel during a convention. The hotel is under construction and will look nice when done. I was told when booking I could check in early no fee if a room was avalible . I would not otherwise be back to the hotel until midnight and was already told they could not store my bag. Yes the hotel does not hold ones bags. When I got there they had a new person at desk who was very nice but did not know how to check anyone in. I was told I could not store my bags would have to pay a early check in fee and a room increase . This was different then I was told before. Had to do it for I had to be at the convention . Oh they had over 20 empty ready rooms. Got to my room and it was dirty. Not a great start. I tried talking to manager but was told nothing they could do. There are many hotels around this one and feel I would have received better service. I hotel should provide customer service mostly when my room was dirty, they had construction going on and had many empty rooms Will not be going back

We stayed there the night before a 5:30 am flight. $5/day parking. Free shuttle to/from the airport. Close to the airport, and Zona Rosa. This hotel is a clean, budget friendly place to stay by the airport if you need a quick place to crash.

I was impressed with the re-model as I have stayed there before. Room was nice and well appointed with a boutique feel. Breakfast was included and they have an airport shuttle. Location is excellent near the airport.

Very comfortable room, everything is new. Big 50 inch tv, free hbo, WiFi Very clean. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when asked about places to dine and such. Shuttle service was great and appreciate the availability of long term parking. Highly recommend
