The room was super quite. Couldn't get the fan to continue to run. I was told I would have a room with a jacuzzi then figured out they were all full. There was no meat for breakfast and the eggs were sitting in water. None of these are "make it or break it". Over all it was good for the price and I'd stay again.

I've enjoyed my stay here at Best Western plus Goldsboro location. They have the best breakfast, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. My room was kept clean and fresh throughout my stay, it was quiet and comfortable and felt safe. Really enjoyed my stay.

"Charged $100 upfront for a BS “Incidental fee”"

One thing I DO NOT AGREE with is the “incidental charges” that must be paid beforehand. One either had to let them go ahead and CHARGE MY CARD $100 OR give them $100 in cash for “incidentals that may be needed. IF I did let them charge my card right away, I would get that money back within 5-7 days. I opted to give them a $100 cash so I could get it right back in the morning, oh, which I did get back after I had to wait at the check out for someone to go and check my room to make sure it was ok. This is a BS policy. You have a credit card on file and everyone initials a clause that if there is any damage or smokes, you will be charged.. I have stayed at that hotel 100 plus times over the years, especially on military drill so as well as being military, also a platinum member, they had the GAUL to do this. Until this policy is rescinded, I will never stay there again.

I spent one night in this property. When I went into the bathroom after getting my things in the room, I noticed the floor was wet. So I inspected under the sink and around the toilet for leaks. Having found none, I took a hand towel and manually dried the floor. The bed was extremely hard. The air- heating unit did not work properly. I found it impossible to set it on auto and get a comfortable temperature. The unit kept running, would cycle off occasionally and then come back on and run, run, run, There was a burning odor like cotton fuming in the room. I got two hours sleep. The breakfast was lousy. Poor choices and rude employee that was standing in front of the mini refrigerator. I did tell the front desk about the heating - air unit and that my experience wasn't very good. For the sake of being nice I wasn't going to tell them, I'm coming back to this place. The worst part too was I am a Best Western Rewards member. This was a Reward night. Wow, if this is how the Best Western chain treats their Reward customers. I don't ever want to find out how they treat customers that aren't. The front desk people were somewhat helpful but their customer service was average. This is clearly not Best Western. I would call it Worst Western.

We were in Goldsboro for a funeral. We were pleased that they offered a bereavement rate. The hotel staff were pleasant, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was good.

Constant buzzing sound from hallway that staff couldn't fix. Like a taboo buzzer going off every 30 seconds. No way to sleep. Shower had no water pressure. Tiny pillows on bed. Like decorative couch pillows. No normal bed pillows. Staff was friendly. Room was clean.

Went to this hotel for a 4 night stay excited that it had breakfast included to cut down on costs as I had traveled a long way. Was greeted by a great staff even got a choice of rooms when I arrived and got settled in fast. Too bad the breakfast was beyond disappointing. I ended up going elsewhere for breakfast and would recommend anyone else who goes to plan breakfast elsewhere as well. Everything was great otherwise.

Great staff and overall great experience. Ny daughters and I ended up at Best Western as a result of our original reservation being cancelled unexpectedly by a neighboring hotel, Hampton Inn. The purpose for the reservation was for my father's funeral. Autumn went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure customer satisfaction. She demonstrated exceptional empathy, professionalism, patience, and kindness. Thanks so much and many bless to you Autumn!

If you arrive after 6pm for check in beware the front desk personnel. They are not as proficient as the day shift. Hotel is with in walking distance to food and shopping. Great access to the highway less than a mile from the exit.

I do not recommend unless you just need a place to sleep, although breakfast was good, the staff does not get the supplies they need to properly do or perform their jobs. Could not get a box of tissue (only 2 in box in room) and no Bath Towels until after they did laundry the next day.

The room was clean and service from front desk was excellent. The location with plenty of restaurants in area and one next door in walking distance was awesome. The hotel was quiet at night and the parking lot was safe for vehicles.

Have stayed here previously as I have family there in Goldsboro. It used to be a nice place to stay. I was stuck in the elevator and fire department had to come get me out. Elevator has not had its recertification since March 2021 and was told they had recent issues with it. Will travel further for another Best Western or switch hotel chains.

We traveled for my daughters graduation from AIT school in The Army. It was a five state journey. Best Western is a great brand overall and in most of our experience we have enjoyed our stays in these establishments.

Ac worked great which was a godsend. Elevators broke once while in it and then remained out of order for the rest of the visit. The shower has no pressure on the 4th floor for either of the rooms we received.

The room assigned was dirty with mouse droppings on the phone, rug had not been vacuumed, toilet did not flush, lampshades were moldy and the room smelled moldy. We were moved to another room that was not much better. In the morning, elevator was not working and we were on the 3rd floor so had to carry our stuff down 3 flights of stairs in a filthy staircase. Also no signs were posted to tell us the elevator was not operating so we were waiting for the lift for 10 minutes

MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE EVER. Began with the most RUDE and unwelcoming reception ever leading into the MOST AWFUL NIGHT SLEEP EVER when the Fire alarm started going off at around 11pm throughout the night. Discovered the phone did not work when I tried to call the front desk to inquire about the alarm. Incidentally, I was in town with my athlete competing to qualify for Nationals so a not that a good night sleep is not always expected but on this particular trip was essential. Seemed no one really cared... had nothing to offer about how long it would take to resolve.... if I ever cold have know it would go one for HOURS. If I had packed up my son and slept in the car we would have had a better nights sleep. The room was ok except for the odd throw pillows instead of actual sleeping pillows. and just too angry and exhausted to eat the crappy looking breakfast that was available so can't comment on that part. Very sad.... JUST Awful awful awful :(

The fire alarm went off all night and we had to leave early for a track meet. Got back from the track meet and asked to let us out if the third night, manager slammed a door in my face, called me privileged and refused to let me out of out me third night and did t offer any restitution from being kept up all night the pre ious night. The fire alarm has been broken for several months (see previous reviews) but they can't get the part to fix it. So please ask every time you book a hotel, “ is your fire alarm working properly?” I guess I am privileged to think that I should be treated as a customer should be.

The room I stayed in was very clean, they provided me with bottled water and even left little packets of sanitary wipes on the main desk in the room. The breakfast was a good variety. They even had little cartons of Silk Almond milk in the fridge for people with dairy intolerance issues. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Stayed six nights for business. Requested daily service to room (trash & towels) which was denied. It was disappointing the hotel would not accommodate this request but the staff's attitude was most off putting. Both the desk agent and hotel manager seemed to enjoy denying my request and letting me know that I would have to do this work if I wanted it done. Both were belittling and rude through out our conversation. I will choose another hotel when in Goldsboro next time.

Stayed here, whirlpool tub didn't work for the 2nd time I have stayed. Was charged a $250 for smoking in the room when neither my wife nor me smoke. Employees are rude. Over heard a few employees use racial slur's among each other.

Hotel was full. carpet filthy around bed, closet & baseboards - drywall dust, food-debris. Room reeked of a musty smell and on & off sewer gas! Cleaning staff never came to room for garbage, towels or to replenish toilet paper, we did it ourselves. Front desk people we dealt with were kind but heard others treating military personnel looking for a room very rude!

I booked the Whirlpool King Suite as a surprise for my SO. I made sure to bring LED candles and to clean up all rose petals as I understand not making other people work harder than needed. The decor was from the late 80s/early 90s some of the staff was amazing speaking with others was like pulling teeth. The jacuzzi tub itself is incredibly loud and the switch for the jets is on the opposite end of the bathroom meaning you will have to get out and traverse a tile floor. The room I stayed in also had shoddy patchwork done to the wall near the faucet. Please also be aware that even if you are a rewards member they will hold an additional $100. I would recommend a Marriott or the Home 2 across the street.

The staff is all related and sketchy. When you leave the room staff members will go in and go through your things. The room had a mold odor and ants everywhere. The whirlpool tub didn't work. The front desk workers are very unprofessional and rude. I asked why I was being charged so much and the black guy tried to go off in front of other guests. This is the worst stay I've ever had. If yu smoke AVOID this hotel. If they smell smoke they will charge (scam) you.

This was a family mini-vacation, we enjoyed the overall experience of the motel, espy the pool needs more chairs, the beds were comfortable and the little shampoos and things were great I also enjoy getting the warm rags at the front desk.

I have stayed at this Best Western in Goldsboro a few times over the last 4 years. For the 2nd time, I having to basically fight to get my credit card refunded for over-charges. This time, they charged me for 2 rooms and the GM has gotten an attitude about doing the right thing...only charging me for my room...what was quoted on my reservation. Beware!

This was a average hotel. The lobby was not clean. The lobby restrooms were not in clean good working order. The trash was overflowing at night and still overflowing in the morning. The breakfast was minimal and not up to par with other Bestwestern. It looks like ownership doesn't care. Rooms where clean and beds were comfortable though.

My husband got me a night here for Mother's Day, how sweet I know. So I go to check in and mosey on upstairs to my room but not before I was greeted with a scary looking man sitting at the door smoking weed. I get up there and boy my husband outdid himself. I just wanted to sleep for one night, he got me the suite with the jacuzzi tub! I went to slide onto the bed and watch tv while I napped all day enjoying my sleep and day off when I realized the TV remote didn't work for the bedroom. I thought, this is fine I'll just nap. Then I went from the bed, to the jacuzzi tub, and back to the bed where I ate my leftovers from lunch for dinner and passed out. Pretty nice night huh? The next morning I wake up and clean the hotel room, I'm pretty good about that. Mind you I didn't do anything but sleep in the bed and get in the tub. Everything else untouched. I blow dry my hair after my shower and it's almost 11(checkout) So I think alright I'll put my stuff by the door ready to go when housekeeping knocks I will be able to walk out and let them in to clean. No big deal. I wanted to curl my hair for the first time in months because if you're a mother of 3 small children you know that's a luxury of the past. So I'm done, putting my shoes on. No one ever came to my door. I had one shoe on and the housekeeper knocks, it's 11:32 maybe earlier but not later. I open and I say I am putting my other shoe on and I'll be leaving and she rudely says ‘well you need to call the front desk because we don't come back so they charged you another night'... 2 minutes past the 1130 mark... wow. Okay so I don't want to hold her up. I throw my shoe on and I'm out the door before she could WALK down 4 hotel room doors. I get down to my car and check my bank account, they sure did charge my card again! So I call, my call log stated I called them at 11:43. Less than 10 minutes past charging time. She tells me yeah no problem it can be refunded just call on Monday when the GM is in. Okay. Sounds good. I call all day Monday and finally a director is in, I believe her name was Ashley. I explain to her the situation and she tells me that she was told I was in the room all day. Well Ashley how would that be so when I live over an hour from this hotel and I was with my family at home before 1? She then tells me it's policy and I wasn't out by 1130 so she's not waiving the $190+ charge put on our card for the extra night I paid for. I asked for corporates information to which she replied verbatim ‘best westerns are privately owned so you go for it'. What kind of customer service DURING A PANDEMIC worst of all is that? Worst of all I used to work in the hotel industry for a good part of my 20s so I knew to go on and make sure they had my room type available and the price the night that they charged me for and they had multiples of the room type available and for much much cheaper than the $180 I had paid for a Saturday night stay with them. Meaning no one even planned to stay in the room I had stayed in. I am so upset about this whole thing. Outside of policy, there is compassion needed when it comes to customer service. And this place does not have it. May be privately owned, but I will NEVER stay at a Best Western again.

There are plenty of other hotels in Goldsboro to stay at, avoid this one. Discourteous front desk staff, dirty rooms, inadequate linens, pathetic "brown bag" food service mad this emergency trip home, even worse. I used to stay here until service declined and switched to the Hawthorne Suites and Holiday Inn for stays. Because this was an emergency trip over the memorial day weekend our choices were limited, so we stayed there. Customer service based organizations need to stop hiding behind the "COVID EXCUSE" and providing such low service under the guise of COVID and move on, We deserve better!

On Friday, I had the pleasure of speaking to Belinda Gray at the front desk of the Best Western. After being back in the USA for a year, this is the best costumer service experience I have had. She not only answered my questions, but went above and beyond to give me alternative options. She even offered her number for me to call back if the other options did not work out. Her tone was pleasant and her attitude sincere, she wanted to service the customer. Thank you Belinda from bringing customer service back!

"Charged smoking fee with no just cause."

I have stayed here many times over a year and change. However, I received my bank statement only to see i had been charged days later a 272.00 smoking fee. I'm not a smoker- never smoked in the room!! I had gotten a Jacuzzi suite for a anniversary- we had candles lit in the bathroom- but no smoking of any kind. I reached out to the GM- Mr Edward Davis about the trumped up charge. Never even had the common decency to reply. It's not even the almost 300.00 charge- it's the principle. That I was outrageously charged a fee for something they clearly have no proof of and something I did not do. There was no violation of hotel policy. It's the principle- you will not get away with charging people.bogus fees. It's wrong and bad business. I have reached out to the director of operations Kieth Hutchinson and will be sueing them in small claims for the return of my money. And have lodged a complaint with the BBB as well. Maybe seeing this on a public forum MrDavis you will have something to say now- when all you had to do was your job. Customer service- and return or reply to my emails. Do not stay here. Period. What kind of place charges u a smoking fee- when they have no proof of damage to the room. And then doesn't contact you back at all. I've heard of them doing this frequently- bogus charges. That is information directly from corporate complaint dept.!!

This is a second or third rate hotel at best. Be advised that will want to charge your credit card with an additional $50 for incidental fees to make sure you don't trash the room. I am approaching 80, my wife is 72, we have never been asked to leave an open charge to the hotels discretion on what to charge on it. Maybe you have and that is the new norm. We just spend a week in Sanibel, Florida with no such charge. After getting over that issue (I decided it wasnt worth the hassle) we checked into a room. When I pulled my comforter back it was dirty and had some kind of really nasty crud on it. I called room service, they checked us into a different room. That room was nasty, some kind of nasty throw up or something on the carpet, dirty carpet, hair in shower, damaged mirror, damaged door, dirty hallways. Go somewhere else and pay a little bit more. This place stinks, I also agree with a previous reviewer, how could anyone rate this above dismal.

I have no idea how the overall ratings on this hotel are so high. This place is gross! The carpets are disgusting and yours shoes stick the the tile floors in the lobby. The bedding has visible stains on it and the bathroom sink had fake eyelashes stuck to it. Avoid this hotel! I haven't stayed at the Hilton but I would recommend that one for someone unfamiliar with the area.

On this trip, with several nights in BW properties, this was the most expensive, yet the least up to date of all those I have visited. Plastic shower, bouncy mattress, painted over old wall sconce plate covers, sticky bathroom floor. Friendly staff at check in, with precautions for COVID-19, but could be a bit more careful in upkeep.

The hotel exterior is very nice, inside not so. rooms are outdated and black mold in the tub area. no breakfast offered our first morning, second morning we passed. Was charged just under $1000 for damage this hotel claimed I did to their bathroom. I didn't do it FYI, but guilt aside, no call from management, no email, no explanation of the charge. Just bill and hide. Be no different from a restaurant adding $1000 to your bill shortly after you left without any explanation. Completely unprofessional, and five days later, still refuse to contact. Be advised about this place. When you give your credit card for incidentals, they can charge you whatever and be under no obligation to give you any reason as to why. The ladies at the front desk were all very professional, but their masks didn't seem to fit around their faces, and even the manager I've been battling with was not wearing his behind the front desk. It was clean and comfortable stay, but for a hotel so indifferent to customer service when it comes to money, communication and medical advice to cover up in public, I'd stay clear.

First appearance of the hotel appeared clean and staff was friendly. After entering the room I immediately determined the toilet was not working correctly, it would Flush but nothing would go down. When I went to wash my face there was a dead roach in the soap dish! It was disgusting.

I came in December and is currently still living there. I'm enjoying my stay. They are pet friendly for my dog. Since the coronavirus pandemic things have changed like no breakfast but that's ok because everything is good. The manger is a great person and friendly.

Nice and clean Comfortable beds Pet friendly Water stays hot in shower We have stayed here for a week and so far the only bad thing we dont like is we have a pet she had a accident on the bad at 2 am so we took the beding off the bed and put it out side the door for House keeping to get the next morning housekeeping lost the bed sheets saying they dont know where the sheets are so we are having to pay $150 because of housekeeping not keeping up with thing they wash.

The hotel staff was top notch. Everyone had a smile and provided top notch service. The rooms were very spacious. Bed was comfortable and provided a great nights sleep. The night I stayed that had some stir fry from the Applebees next door. Not sure if this is a regular thing or not, but very much unexpected. Great breakfast with both hot and cold options. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

If you are needing a pit stop on your way through town, definitely recommend staying at the nest western plus. A Sheetz within a hundred yards from the room also makes it a great choice!

We reserved 4 rooms for a family trip in early January 2020. We had stayed at other Holiday Inn Express properties throughout the country, and were always pleased with the brand. However, this Goldsboro property had several housekeeping and maintenance issues. Among our 4 rooms, we had 2 cracked bedside lampshades, an inoperative room phone, an inoperative refrigerator, and dusty bathroom linen shelves. The staff, however, took our discrepancies very seriously and courteously, and promised to correct them. They were overall extremely friendly and helpful. Special kudos to Towanda who was working in the breakfast area. She went above and beyond in all ways to make sure we had a great meal experience.

Was in Goldsboro for a soccer showcase that brought in quite a crowd to the town. Had reserved a room at the BW on 08/23 for an early December stay. Arrived at the hotel to a mobbed lobby which included many angry guests as the hotel had given away rooms that had been reserved for months. My daughter and I turned out to be 2 of the unlucky guests whose rooms had been given away. We were forced to relocate to the Hampton Inn across the parking lot (which was great). My daughter didn't get to stay with her team and we had to relocate to a room with only one bed instead of the 2 queens that had been reserved at BW. BW Managment and staff were completely disinterested in looking into the problem or compensating us for our inconvience. Could not be more dissatisfied by the lack of service and concern. I would highly recommend to avoid this hotel when staying in Goldsboro.

We stayed at BW in Goldsboro for one night as a last minute reservation because our usual hotel chain was full. Belinda checked us in and was so helpful /happy that it made me feel good after an exhausting day. Great breakfast available and it was next to everything you need for any last minute prep. Definitely will stay again.

This hotel gets 4 stars on customer service. Tamika was prompt, courteous, and made my check in experience welcoming after a very long day on the road. In the morning, my shower had an issue and it was repaired in less than 5 minutes. Teamwork like that it's so rare these days and it's so wonderful to experience. The breakfast was frittatas, scrambled eggs, and sausages, or Belgian waffles and was warm and tasty. They're renovating the hotel, so some rooms have furniture that's a bit worn... and the wear and tear is the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review.

The family and I decided to take a load off and stay at a hotel while passing through NC and this was definitely the right choice. The rooms were great, breakfast was nice and we loved the managers reception. Remy at the front desk was very kind and helpful. This hotel is in in a great location as well, plenty of stores all around within walking distance.

I had stayed at this hotel many times over the past years. The appearance of the hallway was very appointing. There were bleach stains and wear on the carpet in the hallway. There was also a unpleasant odor when I checked into the hotel. Please don't let this hotel go down.

A few rooms in our group had black mold in them. The door locks were broken on our room and two others in our group and they were never properly fixed. The breakfast food was so gross looking we did not even eat it (and a few others in the group felt the same). We would rather eat at Sheetz than their breakfast buffet. Hotel was dirty. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I've had the pleasure of staying at this location 25+ nights due to my work. Rooms are nice, breakfast is good, and then the great concept of them providing a nice dinner every week Monday thru Wenesday is very nice. Front desk staff is nice and helpful, there is one particular gentleman that works the front desk that I would like to mention, his name is Remy, this young man is very friendly and helpful. Being away from home for work can leave you feeling lonely and missing your family, when Remy is around this nice young man took time out of what he is working on every day when I came into hotel from work to ask me about my day, and then he would share how his day was. The respect, professionalism, and compassion he shows to his job and customers is remarkable. Due to some days at work being rough and missing family would have me down some days but he understands that not all talks have to have a resolution, he understands that sometimes people just need somebody to listen to them and he would do just that, and after him listening and talking the problems didnt seem to bad. I cannot say enough about this young man, during your stay ask for him and just talk with him. I also had to keep going to the desk on a few different occasions for misc. things for myself or the room and not once was he rude, disrespectful, or seemed like he was being botherer. Remy, if you read this a big thank you for all you do for the guest, you are a nice young man and I'm sure whatever endeavours you take on that you will succeed them all. sorry for the review being long but I feel that credit should be given when due. Absolutley cannot go wrong by staying here at this location.

The location was great. Walmart and restaurants were within walking distance. We were welcomed like family by Tamika and Belinda who checked us in. Easy check out with Ashlynn who was very pleasant. A friendly and accommodating staff helped make our stay pleasant. Room was clean and the mattress was comfortable. My one concern was the slow moving, hesitating elevator near the lobby. I was worried about getting trapped in it. Overall, a good place to stay with reasonable price. I plan to stay there again.

I have stayed at bestwestern plus Goldsboro mant times. It is by far my favorite Hotel in Goldsboro. The staff is friendly and definately makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Belinda at tge front desk was extremely nice and professional and went out of her way to see that i was taken care of in any way neccessary. I spend half my life on the road all over the eastern seaboard. This is one of the top Hotels ive stayed in. 5 stars great job guys.

They have a rating posted of 100 and I'm not exactly sure how that's possible! Carpets are disgusting and smelly ! My parents stayed here after booking online they get to the hotel and had to wait about 30 minutes as the clerk tried to find an available room .This was after 5:00. My parents who are senior citizens asked for late check out just because they are seniors and knew because of my Dad condition his morning could be slower . Front desk told them no they couldn't accommodate ! One lady at front desk stated she would take a note and someone would contact them the next morning if they could accommodate . The next morning as we are trying to get our dad dress to leave we get a phone call from Jennifer who tells them if they are not out by 11:30 they will be charged for another nights stay when previously they were told they couldn't get a late check out because they are so booked - makes no sense ! We rushed to get to check out to speak with Jennifer once we get to the front desk there's no Jennifer and the clerk informs us Jennifer is only over housekeeping ! How pathetic that housekeeper called my parents to inform them she will charge them for an additional room and that's their policy! However we watched and spoke to several guest who checked out after 11:30 and were not called and made aware of Jennifer's stupid policy !! They wouldn't accommodate a late check out and then Jennifer Called my parents room to tell them they would have to pay an entire nights stay if they were not out by 11:30!! PATHETIC This was actually discrimination towards senior citizens! I wouldn't advise anyone to stay at this dump and don't trust the 100 rating ! There are several nicer cleaner hotels with much better customer service and where housekeeping is not allowed to call and harass customers !!

If you are a pet owner, getting your room cleaned daily may be an issue. There were 2 housekeepers that wouldn't clean my room unless I left the room with my dog. They were very fearful. My dog is less than 8 pounds and was securely in my arms so there was no danger! You must be out of your room when they come by to clean it or they don't come back for the day. There's no way to tell when Housekeepers are coming by so the first part of your morning may be spent navigating getting your room cleaned. This was an issue 4 out of the 8 nights I was there. Just a heads up.

We were in the area to attend a funeral of a retired Marine Corps Gunny that I have known for over 40 years. Best Western has a good standard to serve their customers and as a former instructor for customer service, I appreciate good service. I would recommend this hotel as one of two in the area to stay at. The friendly service from check-in staff to the guidance on where to find a good steak house and the friendly and fast checkout was awesome! The beds are comfortable, roomy and the rooms are beautiful. We had both a little refrigerator and a microwave oven in our room. I plan to make this hotel one of the places I will stay in when I come to Goldsboro, NC. The only downside was a huge stain in the rug about 6 doors down from us that looked like a bleach stain, but there was no odor coming from it.

I have stayed at several Best Westerns and I became hooked on them - Madison, Wisconsin and Staunton, Va. Great breakfast, CLEAN rooms. First the good about Goldsboro - great front desk personnel - warm and welcoming. Then I noticed the dirty carpet - not stained but dirty. Then, my room was dirty. My 93 year old mom was with me, so I didn't want to alarm her, so l talked to front desk and manager early the next morning. We went to a graduation at 9:30am and got back at 4:30. The room had not been cleaned. A person in the hall told me she had done the bed but needed to drop off towels. The bathroom was still dirty, the tables were dirty and the floor needed to be vacuumed. I could go on and on. Breakfast - runny eggs, watery coffee and not much else. If you are coming to this area, there are more hotels - just book early. Graduations are happy occasions - dirty hotel rooms should be the least of the worries.

As I was living a housekeeper actually came running out to my car to bring me my mobile phone charger which I had forgotten in my room. Very impressive indeed. It was a dark and stormy night....we had driven from Savannah to New Bern, and we were tired!! Our hotel in New Bern had our reservation down incorrectly, and they didn't have a pet friendly room available. None of the local hotels had a room. Happily the Best Western back in Goldsboro did. So back we went in the driving rain. We were surprised and happy with the very friendly staff and the large, clean room. The breakfast was very good with eggs, sausage, make them yourself waffles as well as the usual cereals and yogurt. We were quite satisfied and will stay here again.

There is nothing spectacular. The staff is nice and friendly. The food in morning and they have catering for social events during the weekdays are nice. I been to the hotel a few times and stayed for a couple of days at a time. They do not do daily room service unless requested. So that means, they do not come get the trash, make the beds, or restock the towels. They might come by the third day to check in the room. On two different occasions, when I checked in, my room was not ready. They managed to find me another room but still going to a room and then come back down because the room was not serviced. They do not have an usb charger outlet like the updated hotels. Overall I think it is decent hotel but I believe it can do better.

I checked in at this facility on October 17, 2018. Shortly after checking in I decided to take advantage of the complimentary evening meal after a long flight and drive. When I went to the server a hotel host, she in a belligerent tone stated that she had given me one serving and that I could not have another. I quickly reminded her that I recently checked in and that she had not served me, this was very embarrassing. This staff need some very much needed training on customer service. Someone need to please tell her that all people of color are not bad people.

The room where we stayed had comfortable beds. The bathroom was clean but it was very outdated. Overall the room needed a deep cleaning and the carpets need replacing. The facility itself is outdated and needs updating. The check in was very slow since there were a number of people checking in at once and only 1 person at the counter. There was a girls baseball team staying there on the evening we were there and they were running up and down the halls, yelling and so on. We were very disappointed that nothing was done to eliminate this. Our sleep quality was impacted by all this noise. We stayed on the first floor and would not again. Possibly another floor would have been better but we don't know. The breakfast was basic. I felt it was overpriced for the condition. With improvements we might try this place again.

On a preplanned trip to visit family. When we booked 3 weeks in advance it was the only place available that was rated 3 star or above. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The carpet exceeded it's usefullness ages ago. Very worn and faded with multiple bleach spots. It's as clean as they can get it I'm sure. No musty smell. The breakfast is worth the price they charge for it. Nothing. Stick with the coffee and a piece of fresh fruit. The pastries are dry and have little if any taste. You'll need the coffee to wash it down with. The waffles are as bland as can be. Would be better off using the hot syrup on a piece of toast. The bacon was very greasy and the eggs tasted like powdered eggs. The shower; BE CAREFUL. No slip mats and the temp fluctuated constantly from cold to boiling hot. The hotel is surrounded by other well known hotels that are priced 15% or more higher. Had any of them been available we would have checked out early and gone there. As I said at the start; great staff but very poor maintenance.

Apparently there is a recurring problem here of putting guest in rooms that are not ready. I was sent to a room on the 3rd floor (by the way the 3rd floor hallway smelt like a hospital and had the filthiest carpet I've ever seen in a public place). When I entered my room there was a bar of soap in the soap tray, water all around the sink and a towel wadded up on the counter. The trash can by the desk was full and the corner of the bed was untucked. The front desk clerk was super nice and quick to place me in another room. It was on the 1st floor which had the 2nd filthiest carpet I've ever seen in public! My second room was clean, the bed was comfy and the a/c worked; but, when I got in the shower the complimentary shampoo was all but empty (it hadn't been replaced from the last guest), and the shower rod was broke! I left without eating breakfast; but, the two ladies working that area were extremely hospitable. They kept asking me to eat while I was getting coffee and even offered to wrap me a to-go plate. This hotel was difinatly hard to rate: nice people (but apparently someone's not doing their job); filthiest hallways I've ever seen; but the comfy bed; then there's the shampoo? I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Great Hotel to stay in Goldsboro. We stayed for one night. The staff was very friendly and the room was really clean. The breakfast in the morning was actually very good for a hotel breakfast you could get anything from Cereal, Yougurt, Waffles, Eggs, sausage, Fruits, and Pastries not to mention the delicious coffee. The stay started with the room keys not working. After waiting several minutes for the Manager on duty to come to the room his card didn't work either (probably bad battery - lack of maintenance) so had to change rooms. The hotel soaps had been placed in a wet soap dish so were wet. There was mold in shower and the control to change from tub to shower didn't work properly. The breakfast was lacking with items in short supply and eggs that tasted like they could have been powdered.

Everytime I visit North Carolina I stay at this property the staff is exceptionally kind and attentive to all of my needs and I always find that the amenities are in working condition and the property just has an overall great comfortable feel I want to give it big kudos to Caroline who took great care of me and my dad and my nieces while I was there for my family reunion. We always stay at this hotel during that time and this stay was not anything different. From the time that we checked in to our departure they gave us quick and immediate attention and we're very friendly and kind as always this property gives me the best customer service and never disappoints

I have got into a bad habit of staying at another property which I was not very pleased with which I should have known better because BWP take very good care of me ever since I've been going there for the last 4 years. I have always stayed there and my family reunions have had their conventions there as well. The overall treatment is remarkable. This visit I had the pleasure of meeting Caroline, and she took care of me from the phone call that I made to the property to make my initial reservation. I also had my elderly father with me and they made sure that he was accommodated. he did have a small issue with his room. But they quickly moved him and our stay was great.....if it wasn't for the rain I think that we probably would have gotten more use out of the amenities (swimming pool etc) while we were there. But other than that I thoroughly enjoy my stay at this property and I plan on continuing my relationship and making sure that I'm committed to this FRANCHISE when I travel to Goldsboro North Carolina.

This was a one night stay. I am on the road constantly, I know good moderate price hotels, and my experience here was a good one. They served Dinner - not just breakfast. Staff was friendly and very helpful. My room was clean and it was a nice room. It was also quiet there, and convenient to a Sheetz gas station. (walking distance)

I stay here every time I visit my family. The staff is very courteous and friendly. I want to highlight Tisha the morning hostess for breakfast. She is amazing, i watched her assist patrons to their table with their plate while smiling the entire time, very pleasant every morning. Tisha is a very valuable person to have on staff. Adriana works the front desk and I want to acknowledge her people skills as well. The phone was ringing and some guest were not very pleasant but she maintained her composure. These ladies are Awesome at what they do. Working with the public can be challenging! Well done ladies!!

We was so happy to find this hotel in this area. friendly staff ,clean room and excellent customer service. The breakfast attendants made sure that all items was fully stocked. The manager can out and greeted all of the guest during breakfast to make sure our stay was the best that it could be. At the time we need a larger room and he did just that for use he took care of it right away. He real don't know how much that really meant to our family doing this difficult time just wanted to say please keep the good work up my Family thank you again. I was happy to find a hotel that allowed small pets and luckily they had a room available during my 4 day stay. Average older hotel that is in need of some updating but it was decent. Staff was very helpful and nice during check in/out. First room i was sent to was not made up or cleaned so I was sent to a 2nd room. Room had a stale oder and I actually had some roaches on the bathroom walls. It was short notice and i had to have the room so some things are overlooked. One thing I should have reported but chose to ignore it was that when exiting the rear door they have AC units above that exit. The water drips onto the steps below and it stays wet.. An employee was standing by the back door as i exited. I slipped on the wet step and fell landing on my back.. My wife was freaking out thinking i was hurt badly and the employee jumped in the elevator and just left me lying there. I guess the front desk doesnt watch the cameras either because i stayed there for a few minutes gathering myself. That situation is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Thankfully I was only bruised with no breaks. I chose to go on my way and have a nice day.. Someone else might not have been so eager to let it go. It was what it was. I would stay here again but I would certainly look at other options if available in the future. Hence my average rating.

We have eaten here before and the food has always tasted good off the menu and the food bar which is always full clean and appetizing. The owner does as much work as her employees. She is there from open to close. She puts her heart into it. Check it out one time and ask to speak to her she is always happy to talk to her customers. High sanitation grade too.

Don't expect cleanliness or attention to detail at this hotel. We were sent to a room that wasn't ready. Icemaker on 4th floor broken and they put up a sign but never cleaned up the watery mess on the slippery floor. Housekeeping left their food in the frig then came in to get it without knocking!!! Good that my wife and i still at least partially dressed as we were getting ready to go to a wedding! Breakfast was a waiting game while the one person staff unsuccessfully tried to keep the service supplied. The hallway carpet was filthy and the entire hallway smelled strongly of cleaning agent. I won't go back and can't recommend this facility.

Have to say the staff of your hotel is one of the friendliest in the business. Everyone is most pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself needs a few repairs. Toilet would not flush properly, safely latch on door was about to fall off, large bug at bottom of stairwell - that kind of thing. But it was a good 1 night just-passing-through stay.. Would not hesitate to stay again.

We traveled several hours for a funeral. Since I've had good experience with Best Western Plus in the past, it was my first choice when we got into town. I was disappointed right away when I couldn't get either card to work on the door, but in the end it was my own fault. I've been able to open hundreds of hotel doors before, but I was removing the card too fast for this reader (which was a little loose). Once in the room, I felt like it was an ordinary Best Western attempting to be a Plus. It just felt old and not up to par when we walked in. The commode didn't flush properly, door didn't open smoothly (Plus reader was loose), shower curtain was on backward, etc...little things. They did have an evening “meal” from 5:30 to 6:30. When we got there at 5:45, though, they were almost out of the main course. Had it not been for Sharon's pleasant demeanor, we would have been extremely disappointed. Surprisingly, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. And the breakfast was totally made enjoyable because of Tisha! Such a wonderful person! And she was always cleaning! The breakfast bar was the cleanest I've seen in a long time. So, in my opinion this would have been rated 3, but the dining staff pulled it up to 4.

We travel to Goldsboro several times a year to visit with family and stay at the Best Western Plus exclusively.... until now. We always have 2 adjoining rooms as my elder sister is handicappedand and it is safer for her. To insure we have this, I make reservations DIRECTLY with the hotel in Goldsboro. After a long day, it was late on the evening of May 22, 2018 when we finally made it into the hotel for some much needed rest. I was taken aback when I walked into the bathroom.... (please look at the pictures.. the very same ones I showed to the Housekeeping Manager).... the toilet was NASTY and I do mean NASTY. Given the late hour we used the bathroom in the adjoining room. Tuesday morning, 10:55 am, as we were leaving the hotel on May 23, I first asked to speak with the hotel manager only to be told he had "gone to the bank". I told the young desk clerk about the unsanitary conditions of the room and she called the head of housekeeping to come and speak with me. I am also handicapped and using a cane, was left standing at the desk for about 15 minutes before the head of housekeeping finally arrived with some papers in her hand. Never bothering to introduce herself OR call me by name, she snapped into a litany of excuses headed by "Room 204 has been offline and not suitable for occupancy for the last few weeks..." And I am somehow supposed to know this? No one said anything about it when we checked in... my crystal ball was left at home and the staff of the hotel were being disrespectful and rude because I had the audacity to complain about feces and filth left in the handicapped toilet in Room 204. The housekeeping woman then adds in a hateful tone, "Well, we gave you an extra half hour to check out!" as she turned and walked away. I was speechless! If this sounds disjointed and odd.... it was!!! No one asked for an extended check out and no one needed it. I spent the better part of the hour from 10:55 am until..... waiting for housekeeping or the absent hotel manager. It boils down to this: We were unknowingly checked into a room that was "offline for use", the bathroom was disgustingly filthy and unsanitary, and while checking out and notifying the employees of the problem, the hotel extended our check out time. This rates as one of the WORST experiences while in a national chain. The employees were disrespectful and rude and didn't care one whit! My family spends 6 or so nights per year in this hotel and we have done so for many years now. The loss of our business will not make or break this hotel and it was quite obvious the hotel staff could have cared less! THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS!!!! NEVER, EVER WILL WE STAY HERE AGAIN!!!! A hotel is supposed to be a refuge away from home where its patrons are "guests". Someone forgot to tell this to the employees of the Best Western Plus in Goldsboro NC. Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Just left the hotel after staying 5 nights. Very good experience! Rooms clean, pleasant staff and great breakfast. We will return to this hotel in the future. The morning breakfast staff really caters to their guests needs and leave you feeling ready to start your day. Only downfall was that the pool was closed during our stay. Not sure why, but if it was open we would have used it.

First time staying in a Best Western Plus, but was very impressed. Check in staff wasn't unfriendly, but not as "happy" to guests as I think they should have been. However, there was another employee there working their dinner table. Which is where local restaurants provide food (samples really) to the guests checking into the hotel. This was great because my co-worker and I had been traveling all day and in some more remote areas of the state and had not eaten lunch. When I got to my room I was impressed with the updated features and the cleanliness. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

The rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained. The front desk staff is friendly and highly accommodating. The hotel is located close to everything and there is plenty of parking.The daily breakfast is an added bonus.

From the time I arrived all of the staff was friendly and helpful. At the front desk, Ariadna excelled in making sure my sister and I (with separate reservations) were on the same floor. She was so professional and kind; I really felt welcomed. Our room was very clean and sound proof. There were some sports teams staying there also and we never heard a peep. Not a common experience. During our stay, we had a problem with our toilet and the maintenance person (didn't get his name) was there within minutes and settled the problem so efficiently and with a smile to boot! At breakfast, Towanda was there to help but courteously and quietly walked away if we didn't need her. You could tell the pride she had in her work and made sure everything was properly cleaned and all items were stocked. I only experienced one issue while at this hotel; the scented plugins in the eating area. They were overwhelming and I had to eat in my room due to strong nasal allergies. I would give it a five-star rating if this had not been an issue. One more thing, please be aware that the ceilings in the rooms are very low. I am 5'7" and my husband is 6' - if you are taller you may find the room to be confining, especially in the bathroom, we both could touch the ceiling with a flat palm. I highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

I'm giving this hotel an excellent rating in that in this price range, the accommodations and hospitality were impeccable. The staff was friendly making sure we had enough to eat a breakfast which is included in your stay. Yes, it's eggs, bacon, muffins, the basics but always with a friendly face asking if we needed anything. The room was clean and tidy. Our friend left a shirt behind but the housekeeping staff picked it up and had left it at the front desk for us. Our room was close to the elevator which i'm Never a fan of due to noise but our stay was very quiet.

The breakfast was great. The best part of breakfast besides the delicious food was Miss Tiwanda. She is in charge of taking care of all the breakfast duties. She is so welcoming and kind. She keeps the breakfast area immaculate, keeps the food filled up, and she goes out of her way to be helpful and to make sure your breakfast experience is outstanding. She is the nicest hotel employee I have ever dealt with. She is amazing, and I hope Best Western appreciates all she does. Also, the rooms were very clean, and the employees at the desk were very welcoming and efficient. My only negative is that the mattress was too hard for me, but I am sure many people like a hard mattress.

We've traveled across county from the West coast to the East coast and stayed at many Best Western hotels. Their hotels have all been accommodating,clean and friendly. They also offer a $10.00 discount when you sign up with a promotion they offer. They are pet friendly BUT it depends on the location and owner of each Best Western about pets too. All in all it's a safe bet for us when we travel. I would definitely recommend.

This hotel is very accommodating. Although the price is a little steeper than I'd like to pay, it will always be my home away from home when I need to go to this city to take care of business. After experiencing such a terrible time at another local hotel, I always seem to go back to this hotel. The breakfast is your typical continental breakfast, nothing too impressive, but honestly. I don't even wake up in time for breakfast, so that's not a big deal. I recommend this hotel to anyone I know who needs to go to Goldsboro. Close to everything, and across the street from Walmart. It's great!

Very disappointed in arrangements and recommendations based on the outside appearance of the hotel that I gave to my parents who traveled from VA to come to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. They checked in on Wednesday night and due to having to kill several bugs, and dirty floors they checked out on Thursday morning and checked into the nearby hotel called the Town's place by Marriott. They nor I will ever recommend anyone to stay at that hotel.

First time staying at this hotel and it was mostly good. Hotel is in a good location near shopping and restaurants. Check in and check out were both good. We had a king bed suite which was two fairly large rooms and a large bathroom with big Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Shower stall was on the small size and had mold/mildew stains in corner seams. Breakfast was okay, but the eating area was small and located right next to the front door between door and front desk.

I have a wedding on Friday and decided to stay with my groomsmen at a hotel so the bride and bridesmaids could stay at my house. I called best Western to reserve a room and they told me that they couldn't because I was a local!!! I called the best Western 1-800 number and was told that they don't have any restrictions on the hotel. I was able to reserve a room. When I arrived with everyone to the hotel I was told I couldn't stay because I was a local. I was lucky that one of my groomsmen was from out of town so we put the room under his name. The room was humid when we arrived and the pillows were damp. There was piss on the toilet seat and it smelled in the room. First and last time I or anyone I know will stay in that hotel!!!

Mobility room booked by phone for 2 people, one night. We live in the area but our house was being worked on and we could not stay in our own home that night. At check in, we were told that we could not have the room because they do not rent to locals, having had too many "issues" of people partying, etc in the past, and that all but one of the local hotels had the same policy. We were never informed of this during the reservation process. There are many good reasons to stay in a local motel (plumbing problems, paint fumes, electric rewiring, moving, a/c or heat issues, etc), and we had no place to stay unless we wanted to go 50 or more miles out of town. The manager finally made an exception after asking if we had a form or some type of verification that our house was being worked on, which we did not give him because it was not his business. He said he would "allow" us to stay because had booked a mobility room, but we still felt very unwelcome. If the hotels are having trouble with people behaving badly, those people should be dealt with. Never again, ever.

This is my first time doing a travel nurse assignment alone, and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted with smiling faces after a very long drive. Cedric and Adriana made me feel so comfortable coming to a new town alone. Now that I have been here a week, everyone greets me, knows me and my dog by name. I feel like I am home staying here. Housekeeping has been wonderful. Towanda and Towanna have taken care of my needs quickly. I can't remember everyone's name but the entire staff, including the general manager Ross, have treated me like family. Very clean and friendly hotel. I highly recommend staying here. I usually stayed at the Hampton and Holiday Inn in Goldsboro. Best Western Inn Plus is definitely pretty up there. Their Internet is pretty good. It doesn't matter when you using it, the connection and bandwidth is constant. You probably have to sign back in once every 8 or so hours. Other than that, everything is good.

We looked at cheaper hotels and once we arrived and saw the locations of said cheap hotels, we were both glad to have paid the extra $50 for the Best Western. Surrounded by a Sheetz, Walmart, any chain restaurant you can think of and easy highway access. Breakfast was great. Super friendly staff, good food and good coffee. Really created a great start to your morning feel. Gigi is so sweet! I was surprised the hotel room didn't have a night curtain over the window. The only curtain over the window was sheer and we were right above the pool (pool was closed for season) and a street light. My husband said it's probably best that there isn't a curtain so we didn't sleep until noon, which we could have done in those comfortable beds!

I stayed at this hotel and prepaid for my room. After checkout they charged my credit card again for no reason. When I stayed here the second time I brought to their attention to not double charge for my room. My 2nd trip was also prepaid. They did it again a second time even after I my warning not to double charge. This is criminal and I strongly suggest that you watch out if you plan on staying at this hotel. Maybe it is one incompetent person that is doing the charging. If so, they should be fired. Otherwise this is a good hotel.

The hotel was easy to find and convienently close to the people we were visiting. The staff were friendly and helpful, they always greeted us with a smile. The room was fairly quiet. You couldn't hear the street noise, but you could hear doors closing and the shower in the next room. The bed was comfortable. The shower stall was small but the water pressure was good. The room was very clean. The wifi connect was excellent. The buisness center was free to use. The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff was excellent.

We stayed here for one night only long enough to sleep. It wasn't a pre-planned stop. We happened to check in around 1/1:30am with two young kids in tow. Check in was fairly quick and painless until we got to our assigned room. My husband and I were not able to open our room with key card given and room number right on card jacket. We went back and forth trying to open and just as we wee about to walk away to go back to reception some man opened the door and said that we had the wrong room. We definitely did not but when we went downstairs to reception the man on staff was somewhat baffled as to why we couldn't get in (he double checked room key in computer) and didn't seem shocked or overly concerned that someone was in our first assigned room. He did mention that someone on staff has been allegedly blocking off rooms for people to stay in and pocketing the cash. He booked us another room right away and walked us to the room to open for us. He was cool, calm, and collected about everything. Not sure if management is aware of this instance as I have yet to call while on vacation but I plan to. While I appreciate the quickness of the staff member getting us another room I can't help but be annoyed over the inconvenience of dealing with this at 1/1:30am with two sleepy kids. The room we got was very clean and as updated as photos appear but had a strong perfume smell which the staff member even mentioned as he opened the door. It seemed to fade after we were in the room and we were tired so we weren't going to complain. ??

Hotel was nice enough, beds where comfortable and rooms where clean. That said the room I had on the fifth floor was so hot that my wife had to go down to a room on the first floor to get around. The staff could not fix my reservation problems using points for rooms as they couldn't get a hold of the manager for some reason. They where friendly and breakfast was good. But there are a lot of other Hotels just as good with air conditioning that works and managers who also work.

I would certainly stay here again. I was there for my family reunion and the hotel was full with others from 2 different family reunions. They even took a bus. When I was there before, it was the Holiday Inn....Seems they have renovated the rooms and they are quite nice. Lovely hotel and excellent staff. Breakfast was good, never as good as home but it hit the spot. The waffles, best thing on the menu.

Me and my wife arrived a day earlier then our preregistered dates of August 12 and 13 for her 50 Year High School Reunion. The hotel manager and front desk personnel registered us for Thursday night August 11th and stated that they would confirm our dates for August 12 & 13 the next day. On Saturday, August 13th our room was assigned to two other ladies who walked into our room to find out we still occupied it. Both ladies went down to the front desk to resolve the issue and I followed along because our access cards no longer worked. The young lady at the front desk was new and not very accommodating to say the least. To put it quite bluntly rude! I stood in line, but when it came to my turn she was waiting on everyone else who would jump ahead of me. She went online and told me that me and my wife were in the system as a no show for August 12 &13 and that my wife's credit card was denied even though the same credit card she used for Thursday, August 11th cleared payment. The desk clerk called her manager to resolve the issue and told me that we could stay in the room. but we had to talk to her manager before checking out. Her manager was the very same lady we spoke with Thursday night and she was aware that we arrived a day early and reaffirmed us that our reservations for Friday and Saturday would be taken care of. Didn't happen! I talked to two other parties that were their for the same high school reunion and found out their reservations were cancelled too, but they received a check out notice in advance so they had to reregister. Needless to say, we did not receive a notice in advance and I spent close to an hour trying to get our situation resolved minutes before going to my wife's high school reunion. That was more stress than I needed. Needless to say, I am not happy about the service that was provided by the front desk and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Note: I will give the friendly maid service and continental breakfast food service employees and outstanding rating! They are to be commended for a job well done. There was a lot of breakfast entrees to choose from and all good in my opinion and the maid service is Johnny on the spot and very accommodating. This hotel is also in dire need of a lot of upgrades. We seen a few signs where certain things were down for maintenance. Examples: The elevator closest to the front desk was down for maintenance and the ice machine on the Third Floor was out of order. The washing machine in the laundry room could not be used, because the money change box was filled up and wouldn't take anymore change. The elevator floor buttons were quite worn too, but somewhat readable and the light lens covers were missing.

My wife and I neither one smoke, yet after we checked out we were charged a $250 "Smoking Fee". I called several times and management never returned my calls. Staff eventually started hanging up on me. Filed a complaint with the Best Western Corporate Headquarters, hopefully they can intervene.

After 2 failed room assignments, the 3rd was in good order. I usually stay at this hotel when in Goldsboro (couple times a year) and find that the stay itself is amenable. Breakfast and wifi are the amenities I look for and they offer a good choice of food and the wifi is good. This last trip was clouded by two room assignments that led to rooms that were apparently not ready for occupancy. Other than that, my stay was pleasant. I do recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Goldsboro on business or pleasure.

We will always consider a Best Western Plus after our stay in Goldsboro, NC. Very pleasant, has everything you need. The most comfortable bed ever. Very friendly, clean and felt at home. There was a nice pool that was outside which was great since it was hot. The breakfast was as good as if it had been a restaurant. The select was good and it wasn't the same very day. There was staff there to assist if you needed. Very good food. They had coffee 24/7 which was wonderful as my husband is a big coffee drinker. The bedding and towels were very clean and fresh. The internet was easy to connect to and fast as what we had at home. Just an overall wonderful stay. Will certainly tell others about this hotel and will use when we return to NC.

The room itself was okay. The hallways and elevators were very hot, didn't seem like there was any a/c in the hallways. The hotel is in a good location for getting around Goldsboro. Applebee's is right next door so you can walk over. Gas station on the other side of the hotel and good price on the gas. Walmart and Dollar Tree right across the street. The breakfast was okay. Besides the usual waffle iron, you could also make pancakes. The pancakes were a little rubbery, but I only had them once (we stayed 4 nights) so don't know if they are always that way. The waffles were good, and I liked that the waffle iron had a "countdown" on it so you knew how much time was left.

We stayed here for a weekend wedding event. The hotel is conviently located to many places to dine, fuel stops and a Walmart Superstore is right across the street! The rooms are large, clean and quiet, and the king bed was the best sleep I've had in many months. The price is below what I have normally seen. Our family came to Goldsboro for Mud Bash @ Busco Beach back in May and I wanted to take the time to express our gratitude to the staff for there help.When we pulled in the parking lot my husband rearend gave way on his truck.We were due to stay the weekend but cancelled the second night when we arrived without any problems.The next day we were in the parking lot all day.The staff from the night before as well as daytime checked on us.They went above and beyond to the point of offering us bottled water.Everyone there was awesome.Would like to take a shout out to Auto Zone there in Goldsboro as well. I called two times previously to check on my reservation. The last call I made was to let the front desk know that I would be arriving a lot sooner than noted on the reservation. We arrived around 05/27/2016 @ 730 pm. The parking lot was very busy but, clean for a rainy day. I went to the front desk and the stated to the young lady that I needed to check. I gave her my ID and credit card. She never asked my name or confirmed anything about my reservation before she swiped my card ( very nonchalant attitude). The amenities were not explained nor was I given directions to my room (406). I had just enough to cover my total stay that I was given online. She stated that my card declined and asked if I wanted t use another one ( still never confirming my visit). I had to step aside and call my credit card company which took 20 minutes. My card company stated that they were running my card for more than my balance was. The front desk agents never told me there would be a 20.00 fee for incidentals. If I had been given that information the two times I called and at check in there would not have been a problem. I would have told the agent to run two separate cards. We had a five hour drive, in the rain with small children. This was unacceptable! She then stated "Well you booked online that's why" with another company. So if I book online I get substandard treatment? On a good note the housekeeping staff were friendly and nice. I received towels and service in a timely manner. There was also a gentleman on the evening shift who made sure we had towels etc. for our room. He was very nice as well. If I visit my hometown again this will not be my last choice unfortunately.

The hotel was located in a nice area-close to shopping, restaurants, and the main highway. The hotel was quite, and had a decent breakfast option (severed everyday). This is a fairly comfortable and nice hotel. Stayed here for a disc golf tournament, and the place is right on point. Clean place, nice and friendly staff, and a decent breakfast in the morning also. It appears that the whole building was recently updated. Beds were very comfortable - I have trouble with this at a lot of places - but these beds were great, which was a nice surprise. I'll be back to this hotel next time I'm in goldsboro.

We echo others who have complimented the front desk personnel: they are above and beyond what you would normally encounter in a hotel in a smallish city. The rooms were very clean and well stocked with bath amenities. What we didn't like was a huge Jacuzzi tub smack in the corner/side of the bedroom! Very odd. Breakfast was quite good, with lots of choices and plenty of room for all to eat.

From Barbara at check in, this experience is the best I have ever had while traveling for work. Barbara was kind, efficient and ever gave me a cool bottle of water after a hot afternoon of driving. She asked me questions that helped her provide me with just the right room. The room was clean and looked like it had been recently remodeled. The bed was as comfortable as mine at home. Breakfast attendant was delightful, helpful and friendly. The choices for breakfast were plentiful, and the breakfast station was spotless. I will definitely stay here again.

The overall hospitality during our stay was wonderful. The staff provided the charm and warmth you would expect from NC. The room was clean and provided enough room to move around in comfort. The continental breakfast menu varied daily and Jennie ( staff member) was a delight. She was very personable and her smile greeted everyone. As an added note, this establishment also provides dinner Monday - Wednesday nights. The only issue with this stay was about the room on the first night. The phone and coffee maker did not work at all. The hair dryer had been ripped off the wall and hastily put back in place. The last item of oddity was the small washcloth bar that fell into the tub when the clip failed to hold it in place. However, a discount and change of room was provided for the end of the stay. Overall, would I stay here again? Yes. It is centrally located and the staff was great. Thanks for rescuing the hat!!!

I was hesitant staying at a BW, but this property was better than I expected. My only issue was the hot water in room 102. The temperature kept increasing and deceasing, without touching the shower faucet. It's an accessible room; first room from the front desk. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with temperature or not, but I would hate for someone to be scald while taking a shower. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay at this property. Our service men and women were guests too, so I knew I had chosen the right property. It's in a great location too.

Last Wednesday, February 10, 2016, I was working with other family members to secure a number of rooms for Friday night at a nice hotel located in close proximity to my sister. We were, as a family, trying to make lodging arrangements for several of us who would be coming to Goldsboro, NC, for my nephew's funeral services. We were all devastated and in a bit of shock due to the sudden and tragic death of our loved one. However, just as He always does, God intervened and made sure that the lady who took my call could not have been more kind or more compassionate toward our circumstances. Her name was Barbara. Right away she expressed her condolences for my family because she was already aware of the details of this horrible accident. Hearing her kind words and knowing that I did not have to explain what had happened to yet another person was comforting within itself. However, she went a step further in an effort to take care of us in this time of sadness by making me aware of the Hotel's bereavement rate. That night, Barbara was an absolute angel. Generally I like this place, as we've stayed here twice before. I was pleased that they let us check in early, but I also had two issues. The hotel was almost empty, so I can't imagine why they put us right next to the elevator. That was a bit annoying. And the fitness room has no mats on which to stretch or do crunches. Otherwise it was fine. Front desk staff was nice. Very clean rooms with nice decor. Breakfast was ok except for the croissants. (Not airy or buttery in any way, as they should be.) It was great to be able to drop my son at his swim meet for warmup, then come back an hour later when the meet started.

I have stayed in hundreds of motels. The staff at this Best Western is the nicest and friendliest staff of people I have ever met at a motel ( or any other business for that matter).. Everyone was so kind - way beyond just "putting on a face". They are genuinely wonderful people. The facility is great - the rooms are very comfortable and clean - they have a very good breakfast and they even have complimentary dinner for guests 3 nights a week. Wifi was good and fast. Everything about this place is top notch.

Book this hotel for the proximity to our son's home. The place was clean and staff friendly. Free breakfast was ok, what you would expect. Only one staff was not as helpful as she should have been. Seemed exasperated to get up ftom watching tv but everyone else very friendly and helpful. I had my dog with me so we didn't get a great room ( next to the elevator ) but again I expected this. Stopped here with my family on our most recent trip from Fl to NY. Found a great deal on hotels.com. It was about a 20 min drive from I95 but was well worth it. Upon check in we were given a room that would better suit our family of 5. Large 2 room suite with king bed and pull out sofa, as well as a huge jacuzzi tub in the bathroom (which we did not use). The room also had a refrigerator and microwave. Spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was provided and we were very much accommodated despite our late arrival to the breakfast area. I will surely remember this hotel for our next drive on the east coast.

We chose to stop because our timing on arrival at our son's house was off (3am!). I called the hotel due to concerns about our late check in time (after 11pm) and was told to come on in, they had several open rooms. We were greeted by friendly staff, given a lower rate than what I was shown on Hotels.com, and were in bed faster than I imagined! The staff in the morning were wonderful; the lady working the continental breakfast was extremely charming, and the desk rep. gave me a couple of bandaids when I skinned my knuckle loading up our luggage after we checked out. Our room was very clean, larger than our hotel of comparable price in Hershey PA (half again the size actually); the hotel was quiet; plenty of hot water; comfortable beds. We would stay there again any time!

Upon checking in, we found a number of cleaning issues that caused us to request assistance. The front desk representative was named Barbara, and she was very professional, empathic, and courteous. She, not only corrected the issue but she consistently worked to ensure we were overall pleased with the accommodations. If you are are traveling to Goldsboro, NC (or nearby), The Best Western Plus is the best place to stay. It is conviently located to many places to dine, fuel stops and a Walmart Superstore is right across the street! The rooms are large (for a hotel), neat and clean and quiet, and the king bed was the best sleep I've had in many months. The staff is extremely friendly (from the GM to the front desk to the houskeeping staff) and the complimentary full breakfast is one of the best I've had in the many years I have been on the road. The price is below what I have normally seen. I highly advise anyone travelling to Goldsboro to give this hotel a first look.

This place was awesome. I planned a surprise sleepover for my daughter at the Best West Plus on Spence Ave in Goldsboro NC. When we entered the suite, it was so pleasant, beautiful, and clean. Not only that, but the table was decorated with candy and a letter to my daughter wishing her a happy birthday. Tericka(hotel staff) assisted me in the planning process and she is amazing. Our stay at Best Western Plus was very enjoyable. We had a sleep over for age 10 and 11 year old girls with 3 parents. The Adults had as much fun as the kids. The Hotel staff left a Birth wish signed by staff on the table, Snacks decorated the table in living room area.The girls were also given treat bags provided by the Hotel with an Apple water and A Granola bar. When we checked in after hours, I started to leave. Receptionist was not pleasant. Next morning, everybody made up for it. I am glad I stayed. I am so glad we stayed. Love the staff! From breakfast with Lonnie, bill correction with Caroline to heart warming conversation with Tericka! Oh, I forgot the housekeeping! Wonderful! When in town, we will be here!

Front desk were very welcoming and very helpful helped me out with local bars great restaurants and also warm cookies. Caroline and Barbra made it feel like I was home. I will be making the best western plus my number one pick from here on out thank u all for such a great experience

We would highly recommend staying at this hotel if anyone is in the Goldsboro area. Very friendly staff !!! The room was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast had everything a hungry guest could possibly want to eat. Again, I can not emphasize enough...the friendliness of the entire staff.

Found relative best price through Trip Advisor. The lodging market is overpriced in Goldsboro, and, as a result, I have stayed in Wilson or Smithfield in the past. Good location, close to retail and several restaurants. Breakfast selections are adequate. Very friendly staff, especially housekeeping. Clean and surprisingly quiet despite being directly beside a Sheetz store. Would have been a great stay if not for the question about value.

Very grateful to the staff at Best Western for all your help in making me comfortable in my stay there recently. Special recognition to Tyshera and Tericka for making me feel at home during this grievous time, of the death of my friend. Thanks to Carol Simmons for the her words of condolence, prior to attending my friend's funeral. I will most definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. We chose this hotel as we were traveling with our Scottish Terrier, and this hotel has pet-friendly rooms. It was very affordable and clean. No complaints, other than I wish I had time to take advantage of the fitness center, which looked totally adequate.

We stayed for four days while we visited our young adult children. The kids ended up visiting at the hotel whenever they weren't working. The staff was so kind and accommodating!! The room was perfectly clean and well-appointed. The breakfasts every morning were hot and freshly prepared with lots of variety. Coffee is available 24/7. The breakfast ladies are the best! Special love to Ms Ann. Def recommend.

We stayed here due to everything being booked in Greenville and it saved us 50/60.00 as well. The room was good as always every time we have ever stayed at Best Western. The breakfast was great! Had a variety of foods and everything was super clean!! The staff was very helpful too Will be back again!

Recently renovated, clean and well kept. Beds and linen were very comfortable and clean. Well organized and friendly staff. Breakfast was average but fine, except they had no coffee! . They were busy the night before and were behind in getting rooms cleaned but accommodated us very quickly. I would stay here again.

Just finished a very pleasant stay here. Room was clean, free breakfast was more than sufficient, and the hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Now, what should make this run of the mill review slightly more noteworthy is that I am one of nearly 100 people making up a military unit, that occupied over 50 rooms last night at this property. For a hotel to be able to house a group of this size, without even a single complaint or concern, and to be as friendly and accommodating as it was, is no small feat. Highly recommended.

I always stay here every time I am around Goldsboro, even if I have to drive out of the way. i always enjoy the 5 to 7 snack and beer. Baby back ribs from Applebees last time. the breakfast is always good as well.

I'm here often for business. The staff is genuinely friendly; the morning crew eagerly greet me as I head to work at the local Air Force base. The atmosphere is positive and and welcoming as I return from work in the afternoons to a clean room with fresh linens. Free food is a plus and the living conditions are surprisingly exceptional for the rate. Of course, I get a discount anyway. I usually don't have a say when i'm staying in town for work, but it's a relief to know when i'll be posted up here. As a plus, it's conveniently close to the highway, Walmart, Sheetz, Dominos, and Applebee's when hunger sets in after a long day. One polite employee, Tyshera, is quite knowledgeable of information about the local sights and sounds. I'd give the place three thumbs up, but I only have two hands. So there's that. :)

Reservations not correct but clerk remedied the issue. Painted back sidewalk was wet and slick. Trees in the back had spiders hanging. Rooms were nice, spacious; bed extremely comfortable; HOT water; plenty of towels. Told could not bring pets into front lobby, but some did.

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. I was there on a Saturday night and it was reasonably quiet even though it was in a retail area situated across the road from a Walmart. I would stay there again.

I always try to stay here when we visit relatives. Rooms are always clean and the staff is always courteous and friendly. It isn't terribly expensive and hot breakfast is a bonus when we're traveling with the whole family and not on per diem. Conveniently located off the highway and near the super Walmart and a few eateries.
