Best Western Plus Gas City

Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was immaculate (which is not easy at a hotel that allows pets- kudos to the housekeeping staff). This is a GREAT place to stay, with or without a pet.

Our bed was so hard that it hurt to lay on and the pillows were awful. I got up to take a shower in the morning and there were no towels so I went to the front desk to ask for some and the receptionist was recording tik tok dances behind the desk. I got so little sleep that I ended up having to leave my family's Christmas celebration early to nap in my car. The thermostat on the heater wasn't working properly and when it came on it sounded like it was going to fall off of the wall. Constant noise from neighboring rooms and people in the hallway. on my second day here there was a naked man just hanging out in the laundry room. This is a horrible hotel and is probably only in business because there are so few options to choose from. Save the money and sleep in your car. Awful

Staff were very professional, rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable, breakfast was delicious,many items to choose from hot food is a plus....location is perfect.landscape is very clean and tidy. They even have an indoor pool..simply a nice experience..thank you Best western of gas city...

This was a terrible experience. The hotel rooms were not clean, the beds were awful, NO hot water in the morning for shower. Told staff, all they did was make excuses. They don't clean rooms anymore unless you request which is fine but knowing that they don't give you enough of anything for your stay. Had to go to desk for toilet paper, garbage bags, shampoo etc. all this for $250 a night. Do better best western.

Whirlpool tub was filthy cook had very bad personal hygiene no toilet paper or hair dryer in our room there was a woman that was at breakfast that seemed to be the cooks sister and she had an awful smell and she also left a wet puddle in one of the chair in the lobby when she got up holding herself going down the hallway

The bottoms of the dresser/entertainment center had mold growing on them.. Plus when you entered the room you could smell something... obviously it was some kind of water leak or moldy smell it was bad with A.C. on.

This place was okay, but for the $140 I paid I would have expected a newer hotel. On the plus side, beds were nice and the AC relatively quiet. We had a bad experience of a kid or someone just above us running back and forth from 10pm until 4am not good at all. Not sure if this is a traveler of maybe and employee that leaves their kid in a room unattended. As for the hotel it was clean but somewhat dated for the price we pain. Breakfast had a few warm items but were missing a few thing like a functioning OJ machine and maybe bangles with peanut butter or cream cheese.

Beds-plywood feeling Room —Woodstock was cleaner Breakfast—dirt is less crunchy than the waffle mix Employees — decent, but lazy. This hotel was worse than staying at the motel six. We left two days earlier than expected because of the hotel.

This hotel is very nice, clean, and the staff is very welcoming. Twice, I recently stayed here for two days each trip. Good value. Also, there are great restaurants within walking distance. Paynes is excellent, Cracker Barrel works, Burger King, Subway and a good Mexican restaurant all very close. Indoor pool was set at a good temperature.

Great place to stay and for a wonderful price. The hotel is clean and everything works. It was a bit noisy from the highway, but we had the room closest to it. The staff was a bit inexperienced, but very nice. We would look forward to staying here again. Oh - and there is a delicious home-cooking restaurant right next door.

This place fell below my expectations especially that it's named a Plus hotel. The amenities fell below my expectations from poor quality of breakfast to the maintenance of rooms and the pool. I've stayed in better hotels than this place.

Loved the pool and in room hot tub. Breakfast was basic. I enjoyed the fresh fruit and my wife loved the gravy and biscuits. Staff was pleasant and professional. We already book our next stay with best western.

I booked this hotel because of the reviews it had compared to others in the are. When I got to my room I felt like I was on Candid Camera because it's the most rundown room I've ever stayed in. The security lock was broken off, there was a hole in the wall. The plug in the bathroom was coming out of the wall and I had to hold the actual receptacle just to be able to plug and unplug anything. The towel rack was falling off the wall and the sink was missing the top of the pop-up and it looked like someone had shoved chewing gum down inside. It's very obvious that there is no maintenance on staff. I will say though, that the only staff interaction we had both checking in and out was pleasant.

The hotel is in a convenient location but run down. The carpet in our room didn't look like it had been vacuumed recently and the mini fridge had someone else's leftovers still in it. Overall the room maintenance was lacking. The breakfast was good and the employees I interacted with were friendly.

Everything was up to my standards. Pool was sparkling clean. Room was ready and clean. I had to get my key card reprogrammed the second day but the lady at the desk was apologetic and handled it. Everyone made my stay an enjoyable one. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has steadily decreased in quality. The rooms are dirty. The bathroom smells like sewage, the bedding and pillows are the worst I've experienced. There are no blow dryers in room as advertised. The breakfast has few options and what they do have isn't good. We have been staying here for years to attend Ducktail car show. This hotel used to cater to guests attending the car show. They don't anymore! There is no housekeeping services either. You put your trash and linens out in the hallway! I think that for $265 a night one would expect more! We will not return again!

I stayed here for three nights. It was near interstate 69 and a Cracker Barrel was right next door. My bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. I didn't partake of the breakfast any morning that I was there as I had other plans.

We have been staying here off and on for over the last 7 years. It used to be a very nice BW. It is slowly going downhill. You can see it is just not being kept up. The rooms are starting to get dated, and the bathrooms are starting to get moldy and just not clean. It is in serious need of a face lift. The breakfast area is tiny, and not a great selection. Carpets are starting to look stained, and linens and towels look very old. If you don't expect much, this will be okay. But we stayed the night before at the Hampton Inn in Marion, and it put this place to shame. It has been updated over the last 3 years, and the breakfast was stellar with huge selection and common areas clean and updated. We actually took a few pastries from breakfast thinking the BW breakfast may still be poor as it was last time. It was.

Our room was clean and comfortable . Front desk staff was very friendly, and professional . Bed provided good night's sleep . Room was very quiet . We had no issues at all . Breakfast was great , nice selection .

Room and overall facility was clean. However bed pillows need an update. Ours were small and hard. Please update them with a higher quality. Phone attendant Daisy was helpful when I called to change room prior to our stay. Outside lawn was overgrown and needed mowing

Please be aware room 103 has spider on the bed. I called front desk and informed and nothing was done about it. Next morning I complain again and not even an apology from front desk. Please make sure and check everything before you stay.

Nice property conveniently located near the I69 interchange for Gas City. Plenty of nearby eating establishments including Paynes, an excellent local take on a British pub. Our 2 queen room was spacious and very clean. There were plenty of power plugs and some USB ports next to the large desk. There was a nightstand to the side of one of the beds, not just a single one between the beds which is the norm. The wall mounted heat/AC unit was powerful. The room comes with an ample closet for hanging clothes, refrigerator, flatscreen bureau and microwave. The bathroom counter was quite large. The provided hair dryer was quite powerful. Breakfast included the usual assortment of cold and hot selections. A nice touch was the availability of a gluten fee cereal. The only negative was that the windows allowed a fair amount of noise from the nearby interstate to be heard inside the room

I thought this hotel would be horrible. I was nicely surprised. This hotel is VERY clean and I inspect everything. It's outdated (hence my concern-didn't look inviting) but clean. Comfortable beds. Staff were nice. I didn't eat the breakfast but it smelled good. I would stay here again.

Dusty, dead bugs, cob webs, dirty broken down disgusting hotel. Asked fir another room and was told yes, but they couldn't gaunantee it would be any cleaner. It was cleaner but still horrible visit. Hotel smells of air freshener over dirt.

Linda provided Kind courteous checkin In. Checkout was the same. Clean, comfortable spacious room. Pet friendly for a reasonable extra fee($5 higher than other BW for same room type). Easy on off I 69

The beds were okay. Pillows were pretty hard. Daughters bed sheets had stains on them. Our coffee pot and ice bucket were in the bathroom which is one of the most germ prone locations. Our lamp on the desk/table wasnt working and upon looking I found bare wires poking out of the cord. Pool was not open.

Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There was no hair dryer. Was glad I had brought my own as it's pretty cold and windy today. The breakfast area was the most problematic. Barely anything to choose from. What was available was extremely limited.

The room was very dirty, we found hairs all over the room. The pillows were old, lumpy, and small. You could hear everything outside of the room. There were campers around the hotel blocking the window views. The wifi was horrible and the A/C unit fan did not work.

We opted to pay for the presidential suite thinking it would be their best room. Very disappointed. The carpet was stained. Curtains were ripped. The doorknob on the closet was missing. If this was their best room. I would hate to see what the other rooms are like.

Centrally located among several nationally known restaurants and gas stations. Cracker Barrel in front! The lobby and dining area were well maintained. Lots of room. We are working on reserving 20-25 block of rooms next year at the same time for Vietnam Veterans Squadron reunion.

Needs a make over badly and new carpet and don't let anyone smoke in the building. Nothing else.to say...they need to go through each room and fix the problems in order to fix the ratings of this hotel

Chose this hotel for its location, close to Taylor University, but there was nothing else good about our one night stay. The lack of care for the exterior of the building and landscaping told us what to expect inside. From lumpy mattresses and pillows to clearly permitting smoking in non-smoking rooms to the poorly stocked/prepared breakfast this place gets to thumbs down.

We have stayed here many times in the past. Probably 8-10 times. It has gone down over the last couple years. The property looks dated inside, the bathroom walls showed water damage, and the tub was stained...not dirty, but stained. The tub plug was such that it would fill up while you took a shower. Finally had to just yank it out to stop it from doing that. The a/c continually cycled...and we must have been where the staff takes their smoke breaks, because everytime it fired up, you could smell smoke...looked out the window from our second story room, and sure enough, there was the big ashtray they obviously put cigarette butts in. The bed was lumpy, and no fitted sheet. Just a regular sheet on the mattress that kept coming out while I slept. Still no breakfast service....crappy TOGO breakfast bag....blaming COVID. That's a joke, there is a Cracker Barrel directly across the parking lot SERVING breakfast! Just a way for them to cut costs. Hallways smelled like smoke, and it is apparently a pet friendly hotel because we heard a giant dog barking 2 rooms away all night. Will NOT STAY HERE AGAIN! Definitely not worth being close to Taylor for this type of stay. Will try the Holiday Inn Express across the interstate, or the Hampton Inn or Comfort Suites in Marion which we have stayed at before.

Wouldn't stay there again. Seemed like a good deal but should have stayed at the more upscale place. Never been where you had to call to get room service. Fitness equipment was junk. Bike didn't even work.

Second time I've stayed here. First time was good … this time not so much. Our first room had the door propped open and looked like it wasn't cleaned. Second room was not much better. It smelled musty & the desk was filthy. We had to get cleaning supplies from front desk to sanitize. I'm not super picky but this was even below my standards. The ice machine was outside our room and went off every hour. The bathroom door was missing the lock & it looked like someone punched the door & left a hole. Also, a guest propped open a side door with a rock… little safety issue! The front desk was very nice and helpful but we will not be staying here unless there are major reservations.

Taylor's campus is gorgeous and it's too bad the nearby lodging doesn't come close. The Best Western Gas City was dirty and our toilet stopped up so we had to change rooms. Couldn't connect to WiFi and pillows were REALLY lumpy. Breakfast was closed down and replaced by a to-go bag. The front desk staff, however, was accommodating. If we were to visit again, we'd check out the Holiday Inn Express or look for a B&B or something else nearby.

Nice quiet place to relax and enjoy. Can't wait for the pool to reopen though. Staff was amazingly helpful and very knowledgeable. If they didn't know the answer they were quick to find out and let us know.

We will not visit again. When we first arrived and saw the window sheer torn, we reported it to the front desk so as not to be charged for the damage. She asked if we wanted to change rooms. We should have know at that point that she knew the room was defective. We later found out that the toilet didn't flush even a piece of toilet paper and the drains in the sink and shower were slow. When my husband complained we were told we could move rooms or use a different room in the morning if there were any left. We chose to stay in the room because 2 of us were already in bed. In the morning one of us showered in standing water. We used the lobby bathroom toilets. Very inconvenient. The pool and breakfast areas were still closed "due to Covid" even though other area hotels have theirs open. A grab and go breakfast of water and a banana is not enough. How about adding a bagel and cream cheese? If Covid is such a concern, why doesn't your staff wear masks?

The lady that checked us when had to look at the room first, she said the housekeeper that did the room was not the best. Carpet was dirty. Bed was old and mattress was very used. No breakfast offered and coffee was old.

In the past this was our hotel we loved to stay while visiting family in Marion. This last time sent us away to another hotel after one night (We booked two). I am an elite member but there was no mention at all to that like there was in the past. It was noisy, not that clean, stairwells run down, and smelled like smoke due to people leaving the doors open while going outside to smoke. Walking up to the hotel told us it needed attention. The facade is getting worn and not inviting. Due to covid EVRYTHING was shutdown. No hot breakfast, no pool, no workout etc. Other places we stayed had those things running. It seemed like covid was an excuse to shutdown the amenities. They did have coffee urns in the morning, they were empty but they we there. We were going to check out a day early because of dissatisfaction but there wasn't anyone at the front desk so we left the keys in the drop box and left. I do hope they fix these problems because we did like it there. If not we will be finding other places. We are up there at least 3 times a year.

We couldn't have asked for better service. Alea and Tamra were both a great help to our family in such a difficult time. Sheila made changes to our reservation at 6AM! The facility was clean and well maintained. We stayed multiple times at this location while my father was ill and eventually passed. The staff were cheerful, courteous, so very helpful to all of our family. We would recommend this facility to anyone who would be courteous customers for this staff who would bend over to make you comfortable.

Staff did not wear masks, nor require guests to (even though it is a state mandate). When I questioned this, my concern shot down. Clearly not taking virus safely protocol seriously. But they were quick to cite COVID when giving a measly bag breakfast of a warm water bottle, an overripe banana, and a tiny granola bar. They didn't try very hard on the breakfast. Fitness Room and Pool also shut down for COVID. When we checked into our room, there was almost no toilet paper on the rolls and only 2 tissues in the box, both items clearly not refilled when the room was cleaned. The lamp didn't work. Hotel decor was nice, and the beds comfortable. But I would not stay here again, certainly not during the pandemic.

The staff were amazing and helped with my accommodations however, for the amount I had to pay (using my rewards points) I expected the breakfast and pool to be open... neither were! There was no breakfast and they offered my girls a granola bar & a banana with a water! My girls are both allergic to gluten and there was no gluten free option and I had to go pay for hot breakfast even though it was supposed to be included! The pool wasn't open and neither was the gym! Considering these options weren't available I'd have expected the charge to be discounted

Clean, hospitable staff, quick check in and quick check out, and a nice pool-fitness center-and laundry. We came for my son's birthday. Everyone had a great time. It would be nice to see some extra equipment I the fitness area.

I have stayed at this property many times. During my most recent stay, there were several problems with our room. The coffee maker did not work and was replaced twice and still did not work. There were dirty paper cups on the floor and the dust around the refrigerator was thick. The breakfast bar ran out of coffee and the other food items. I asked to speak with a manager. The woman who identified herself as the manager did not even look up at me when i spoke to her but conituned to type on her computer. Another employee kept interupting me. Her response to my concerns was to say that she was sorry that i felt that way. She offered my 5000 points. I told her that i wanted the items resolved not something for free and her response was do you want the points or not. Being in the customer service industry, she should learn how to be more customer centric. Very disappointing response expecially from a member of management.

Quiet, clean, friendly and a decent breakfast. Everything I need when traveling for business. I stayed at a Sheraton Hotel just before the Gas City Best Western, and the Best Western was hands down the nicer option.

We stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years for my daughters birthday. We do this instead of big parties. She enjoys it and has around 5 friends/cousins come each time to help us celebrate. Normally we don't have any issues. This time, however, was nothing but problems. In fact, the first thing the check-in lady said was, "ugh, it's a birthday. You're not gonna have 20 people here are you?" (insert drawn out eye roll). The room we were given had mouse droppings on the bed and side tables. I'm sure it was on the floor, but we couldn't see it. My husband implored me to let it go and not change rooms because the front desk lady had already been rude and seemed disgruntled. The size of the room was great, but we found out later while we were sleeping, there was something seriously wrong with the fridge (couldn't unplug it due to leftovers). The pool was freezing cold and the pool room temp was set at 60. When we asked if they could turn it up, we were told "It is what it is." The previous 2 years, the breakfast was delicious. This year, it was abysmal. The food was always empty and there was only 1 worker trying to do everything so we didn't want to ask her for anything and add to her task list. Almost every worker seemed annoyed, unhappy, and was generally unapproachable. I think we will have to find a new location for our annual birthday stays.

We were disappointed that they don't give a veterans discount, indeed it actually cost more $96 to $94 so we didn't mentioned being a veteran. We drove a car that had four tires. How is that for 200 letters.

Very nice. I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and every time clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Location is convenient. A Cracker Barrel and English Pub within walking distance. Convenient to events at Taylor University

We have stayed here 10 times in the past 12 years and this stay was perhaps the best. Our room was ready early and the young lady who checked us in was very nice. The older lady who takes care of breakfast is also very nice. The women who work at right,, however, smoke right outside the door and the language they speak might be best identified as "Grunt." Probably hard to find good people these days... but overall we were satisfied with this visit.

The rooms and the hotel were CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, CONVENIENT. The Breakfast was great and we treated well by the best staff. IT appears the linens are refreshed/replaced regularly because we have stayed here many times and it always seems the linen are very clean and white and fluffy. WiFi is always very good. Did not like the fact that a pet, which did not appear to be for medical or disability purposes, was in the breakfast area.

We have stayed at BW for the past 9 years to attend this event at the Gas City park. Previously our experience has been positive staying here. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable. This year it seemed the quality of the breakfast was not what it had been in the past. And when I received via email reservation confermation for next year the rates went up about 14%.

I stay here often. I do feel the price is a little high. Please dont price galge just because there arent many hotels in the area. Sometimes when the price goes up, I book in Marion instead. Otherwise, nice quiet location

Nice large rooms,. Great location, right off interstate. Cracker Barrel and Starbucks within walking distance. Friendly staff. Free continental breakfast. Though I didn't use it, there is an indoor pool. Great for families.

Pleasantly surprised with our 2 night stay. Our room had NO issues, was clean and everything in working order. Our only complaint was that housekeeping did not replace towels, take garbage or touch our room after the first night. I had to ask for the towels at the front desk. Breakfast was as expected. Hotel was quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

I am a Diamond Member and we stay at Best Western properties almost exclusively while traveling. We were traveling from OK to MI and decided to stop over at this location for the night. I called ahead and made the reservation with Taylor, she was very pleasant on the phone and said she could accommodate us with a Diamond upgrade. Upon arrival Taylor provided us a room on the second floor adjacent to the elevator, she stated that was a large wedding party that had a block of rooms at the other end of the hall so she gave us this room so we would be away from any potential noise. The hotel common areas looked very nice, like it had been somewhat recently updated. The same was true in the room. Where they completely missed the mark was with housekeeping. When we entered the room we immediately noticed that it looked like the carpet had not been vacuumed, there was debris along the edges of the wall, around the bed/nightstand, white strings out in the middle on the darker carpet (very obvious) etc. The bathroom counter was not clean, the mirror was only cleaned as far as the person could reach. Then when we went into the bedroom the linens on the bed were loose and very wrinkly, almost as though it had been slept in and the covers had just been pulled up Not al all what we are used to with a Best Western Plus. So I called the front desk and reported the problems to Taylor, inquiring if there was a better room. She apologized, offering us the one across the hall (next to the elevator), believe it or not it was worse, they was human hair on the furniture, dried cheese on the carpet in front of the sofa where someone had been eating while watching the TV, the bathroom floor was dirty with hair, toilet paper bits, and a piece of plastic from a container that had been opened by the previous occupants. The drapes were stained with what looked like blood spots,the bottom hem was coming out on one, and they were not hung correctly in order to close properly. The seat cushion of the chairs had a disgusting looking stain on the underside. There was a bad iron burn on the bench fabric, and when I went to the closet to grab a spare pillow from the shelf it also had human hair on it! And again the carpet did not look as though it had been vacuumed properly. I went back down to see Taylor again, she was very embarrassed, gave me another key card to check, this time it was just a standard room no upgrade. I opened the door and it smelled heavily of smoke so I didn't even go in. Apparently the first room was the best they had to offer that evening, it was late and were were exhausted that was where we stayed. Taylor said she would email the manager and suggested I speak with here about our problems in the morning when checking out. I spoke with here and showed the photos, she was very apologetic and insisted on comping the room charge. I explained I that wasn't what we were looking for, but she insisted stating that she was sorry for our experience. I told her I was grateful for the refund, that I thought the staff was wonderful, breakfast was fine (fresh and plentiful), and the hotel itself looked very nice, but there was definitely a problem they needed to address with the housekeeping staff. And that I would not be able to provide them with a good review - She said she understood. I hope they take this serious and bring new staff that can take care of the rooms properly.

The Best Western PLUS in Gas City is a highway gem. The hotel staff makes this a highly rated hotel. The front desk staff is welcoming, the cleaning staff was friendly and the breakfast staff couldn't have been more attentive. We were surprised and pleased.

Second time staying here, and will stay again in the future. Walked over to Payne's Restaurant for a very good dining experience. Quite a variety of home cooked meals, soups and sandwiches, and yummy desserts!

We were supposed to get a group rate; that didn't happen, and I'm still working on that. The room was a huge L-shaped space, sparsely furnished and poorly lighted. The small part of the L had only the fridge/microwave/ coffee-maker off in the corner near an outlet that allowed two of the appliances to be plugged in. THERE WAS NO LIGHT IN THIS AREA, so trying to read the machines' instructions was accomplished with the aid of the cell phone flashlight. The security loop on the door was broken off. There was a used soap bar on the tub upon our arrival. The lamp bases (where the switches are found) were very dusty! Breakfast was just basic, not providing very much in the way of healthful choices. This place obviously has captive clientele with the nearby university activities and limited hotel options, so rate hikes on event weekends are outrageous.

DO NOT stay at this dump. Hard beds toilet kept backing up their solution.They gave me a Plunger to unplug it my self.122 dollars a night had to be my own maintenance man.Staff very rude.Breakfast was luke warm eggs. The worst was housekeeping.Never vacuumed whole week I was there.Our last day there we came back to our room after being gone all day,they sloppy made our beds.Pillows on the floor.The front desk lady didnt even apologize for her staff.

We arrived late at night with no reservations. The desk staff was fast and efficient getting us into a room quickly. Hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We didn't make it to breakfast since we got in very late and had been driving all day. Breakfast is over at 9:00 so be mindful when you stay at this location. Definitely will stop here again

Reality is this 24 hour cancellation process has me baffled. it seems to be a Midwest thing. Yet I booked a room just down the street that has cancellation up to 6 pm the day I arrive so if there are any difficulties as we travel we will not have to pay for a room we cannot use. Best westerns with this cancellation process are now off my list. Wyndham seems to know how to treat a traveler.

I had promised my son a hotel sleepover with a pool for the past 2 years. We got a great online deal on the internet. The pool is a 5 ft pool but it was fun. The water is just below lukewarm. The fitness room we didnt use but we did take a peak and it looked nice as well. The entire hotel is spic and span. The consierge got us our room . This he only issues we had was a clogged toilet but they gave us another room and the pillows are awful to sleep on so bring your own. The beds are great but the pillows are yuck. The free breakfast that is offered has a large variety of foods to choose from as well as coffee, tea, juices, milk, non dairy beverages, and even almond milk. All in all it was a good stay and my son had a great time.

The staff is amazing. Very helpful. Housekeepers interact very well with guests. Very clean. Overall, the best place to stay. Comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, heated pool, fitness room, definitely gets 5 stars from me.

Best breakfast selection of any hotel ever. 2 types of sausage, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal and waffles with a dozen different toppings, regular & greek yogurt. Lots of different drinks including almond milk. Something for everyone at this FREE breakfast.

Several of my friends and I get away at least once a year for a road trip. This year, the weather turned unexpectedly poor and we made an unscheduled stop at the Best Western Plus in Gas City and it became one of our most enjoyable stays of the trip! We arrived without reservations in the middle of the night during a winter storm. The front desk attendant greeted all of us with a smile. That smile was so nice to see after lugging in our luggage from the cold, wet and icy, sleety night. Best Western was able to match the online Priceline quote at the front desk without a management call and we were even offered a noon check out (rather than their normal 11:00 a.m.). When we arrived in our rooms, we were more than pleasantly surprised at the comforts our rooms allotted us. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were stocked with quality necessities and the towels were clean and soft. Our stay was unexpected but I would go back again and again for the friendly staff and the clean and comfortable rooms!

Our son now coaches at IWU in Marion. We decided to stay 1 night rather than driving back & forth. We were very impressed with this hotel. The room was spotless from floor to ceiling. The hotel was quiet and up to date. Beds were comfy. Staff was kind with check in and check out being quick and easy. The parking lot could use more lighting but that's the only "down" thing I have to say. It's behind Cracker Barrel and next to a little local spot to eat. We have no complaints. If we didn't have dogs to get home too (even though this hotel is pet friendly, our pets aren't travel dogs) we would have stayed another night just because. They offer tons of cable channels. Coffee was good. We'll stay again.

The beds were comfy, the room was clean and modern. It's small, but there is a pool. I was there for business, and the hotel served its purpose. The only problem I encountered (which wasn't really a problem) was my door didn't shut all of the way on its own. Average, normal hotel.

Clean, comfortable and convenient. Good for business or leisure. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. I prefer to be further from the pool area because of the noise but overall it's pretty quiet. Good value.

We had a good stay although the phone didn't work for 2 of our 3 days, I guess it wasn't that big of a deal it was a simple fix once they attended to it. The worst part was, it was an event weekend and all the local hotels were price gouging.

Left two pairs of pants accidentally in the hotel - then tried to get them back - big mistake. Tried to charge me $45 to send them to me including a $10 pickup fee. Not against paying the shipping - this was outrageous. I will find another hotel to stay in next time I visit my family.

We stayed 2 nights at this Best Western. We were in the area to move our daughter into Indiana Wesleyan Univ. We arrived late and were greeted by a nice young lady. Check in was very fast and efficient. No issues. The rooms was newer, nice enough and clean. My wife is pretty particular and she had no issues with the room either. The bathroom was clean and the shower had plenty of hot water (a major point for me). The only complaint with the bathroom could have been that the water pressure was not that great, but it was not anything to complain about. The hotel is right next to Cracker Barrel and we ate there the first morning. The second morning, we ate the breakfast at Best Western. The food was as expected and hot. Plenty of selection; eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, yogurt, French toast, cereal. Plenty to drink: coffee, water, orange and apple juice, milk (2% and skim). The breakfast was good and there seemed to be enough for everyone. The bed was very comfortable, but maybe a bit too soft? This is not anyones fault, just my personal preference. There were plenty of pillows and the bed was clean. When we got home at the end of the first day, the room had been cleaned, bed made and bathroom cleaned. This hotel checks all the boxes. If I were to complain about anything, it would be that I feel the price was just a bit on the steep side. Again, everything was very good about this room and our stay, but I would expect to pay about $125-$150 a night on the high end, but our 2 night total was $387. Im sure this had to due with demand for lodging as it was move in weekend for all the students at Indiana Wesleyan University. We would consider staying here again if/when we return.

Came down here for my graduation at Indiana Wesleyan University. I didn't want to pay $200 for a night at the Holiday Inn and figured paying $110 would get me a decent room. We stayed at a Best Western in San Antonio and it was really nice. I was completely disappointed arriving here. The car is a hit or miss to open the room door, we had fill handprints on the back of the bathroom door, the bathroom door does not lock, my moms phone did not work, the key card reader from the back patio shows it's unlocked but the door does not open. I drove 2 and a half hours to come to graduation and next graduation I will be driving home after. Graduation was the best part of it all. Absolutely would not stay here again. Wouldn't recommend it.

Just recently started staying at Best Westerns the last few years and they are now my go to hotel when traveling . Will look for them first in the town/city I might be visiting. Got to say the Gas City Indiana hotel has got to have some of the nicest pillows ever had to sleep on when staying at a hotel. Also loved how easy the doors opened with the slide in card, I am handicapped and sometimes they give me problems. The room was clean . the staff very nice. Even the breakfast was good, it was a nice convenience too

Lovely entrance & lobby area. Breakfast is provided each morning...very economical since breakfast is included. Nice variety of breakfast items. ALL employees are helpful, nice & willing to go the extra mile. We have stayed at this particular Best Western quite a few times & each time we have been pleased.

Wonderful place to stay for a family event. Breakfast is excellent with a good variety of hot items that are quickly replenished and tasty. Staff was helpful and there are several good nearby restaurants.

We have stayed here several times before because the location is handy to the church that has me preach... but we will be looking at other places since the price has nearly DOUBLED ... Nearly $200 for this very average hotel is ridiculous... Next time we'll shop around and stay elsewhere We are in our seventies and the genius at the desk put a family with a loud obnoxious five year old in the next room..........Not smart.

Over all good experience. My biggest complaint which started my day off on the wrong foot was that the breakfast was not great as they had ran out of scrambled eggs by 7 am and the orange juice was empty.

Great Place to stay in a pinch while on the road. Rooms were very clean and the pillows were soft and fluffy. Staff was nice and professional, good bargain for being in the middle of nowhere. Definitely would stop again when I'm passing through this part of the country

This was a great location, as it is right off of the highway and about 8 minutes from campus. The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend this place if you have to visit Taylor.

I was traveling through this area on my way back from Arizona with my pet. I had a small pet with me and they charged 30 bucks a night for this! My pet is paper trained and under 10 lbs. could not comprehend this expence for a small pet. Other than that acomadations were nice room was as clean as it could be for carpet in a pet room.

Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and proficient. The rate was a good value and we choose this particular hotel because it is pet friendly. We have had good luck with best Western hotels.

Clean, friendly staff, extremely comfortable beds. We slept well. Good shower but an exhaust fan in the bath would have been nice, it got humid and steamy. Loved the white fluffy towels. Would recommend this BW to anyone.

The “Plus” to this hotel is that there are other hotels right around the corner. Do NOT stay here!!!!!! Horrible customer service. Consistent reviews and we personally experienced the room you book either not being available at all or not the room you booked.

We had a wonderful registration handled by Jake, evening front desk attendant. Very nice, excellent demeanor. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was fine. Beds were comfortable.All in all, a wonderful visit.

Rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast was cold. I have stayed here before and had better quality. A bit disapppinting. Staff is friendly. It's a BW not the Ritz but ok. Would have like to have had a hot meal with decent coffee

The Best Western in Gas City I.N. has clean rooms and friendly staff. And is responsible rates. I would recommend staying there. It is close to the high way also. But you don't really hear the traffic

This was a great choice for our family. Super clean family friendly hotel near our thanksgiving destination. Our usual choice has gone down hill and this hotel was one exit down so we went for it. We booked a two room huge suite for a very reasonable price. The bathroom was nicely renovated with a huge tub, room was clean, functional and had all we needed. Ashley at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. There is a Cracker Barrel, Starbucks and British restaurant at this exit which is very convenient. Our kids used the pool and it was clean and warm. Breakfast was decent and the coffee was good. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean and comfortable and a great value for the price. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Good breakfast and great location. Didn't use the pool but saw families that were and it was a good size. Hotel was very quiet even being so close to the interstate.

Review title says it all, however we were not familiar with the area. We were not even ten minutes away at an event we planned on staying at for quiet some time, but didn't because we had gotten a call about our dogs causing a noise complaint. Our dogs have never acted like that, but it is whatever. We have no plans on coming back.

Stayed overnight for my daughters 5th birthday so she could swim & do something fun. We were able to swim one day, but when we went back the next day the pool was closed for whatever reason. The room was pretty decent... a little outdated in appearance, but good size for the 4 of us. However, neither remote in either room worked on the TV. Not a huge deal to have to change the channel manually, but still not an expectation when you're paying to stay somewhere. The bathtub in our room was great & breakfast was awesome. Probably the best breakfast I've had at a hotel actually. Overall, I think my daughter had a wonderful time which was the whole point of the stay. I would consider going back here.

We absolutely loved every single thing about this great hotel! the daily breakfast was terrific, the staff friendly and helpful, the hotel and grounds immaculate, the rooms and WIFI great as well! We would highly recommend this hotel to any and everyone!!!

Though comparable to the nearby Holiday Inn Express, I Have repeatedly found the cost to be lower. It is also located right behind Cracker Barrel and across a side street from a local favorite, Payne's (restaurant).

Having stayed here previously, we knew what to expect, and there just aren't that many choices in Gas City. We found improvements, especially the breakfast. The internet connection was fast, and everything was nicely clean.

Always a pleasure to stay at Best Western. The .Location is between two campuses. We have two grandson's in college in this area. One at TU and one at IWU, so we come every year to watch them play football.

The beds were comfortable, staff was helpful and polite. Breakfast was good and the server was great! Highly recommend! Being in a small city I was surprised at the quality of this hotel! (Could use more art on the walls)

All very good great place for sure for the $ of the room! Really interesting eclectic restaurant adjacent to the GC location. Personnel excellent and NO idiot guest problems. And good interstate location to get up to Ft. Wayne, or down to Muncie as to regional local.

My check in went well. However, when I went to my room someone was already in it! So I had to go back to the front desk and get a new room. That was a first! Overall the room was large and clean. I was pleasantly surprised to see fridge an microwave. I enjoyed my stay overall. I ate at Payne's restaurant and this was also a pleasant surprise! I recommend going there to eat! I was a bit rushed in the morning at check out as I had to present a workshop that day with the Marion schools. They asked me for my email which I gave upon check in. I did not get my receipt and had to call the next day. That was slightly annoying as I had already given my email and wanted a speedy check out. Nevertheless I would stay here again. It was a nice stay. Not extra ordinary --but nice and the staff was overall nice too.

Best Western Plus hotel in Gas City, IN is conveniently located to IN Wesleyan Univ and Taylor Univ. Nice accommodations, comfortable bed, and a spacious room. We would be happy to stay at this hotel the next time we are in Indiana.

We have stayed at this hotel for past 9 years during 'Ducktail Run' car show and have never had a problem. We usually stay five or six days. The accommodations have been wonderful and very nice desk, cleaning and breakfast staff. Absolutely no complaints.

I stay here frequently when visiting family in the area and the hotel meets all your needs. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is decent and there's a pool and fitness center that my family loves to use. Sometimes rooms can be a little pricier than you might expect, but the hotel is overall good value for money and we have never been disappointed.

We were pleasantly surprised with the state of the hotel. This is the best Best Western we have ever stayed at. I was happy to find hotel that accepted our cat for an overnight layover. The late check-in was great. The room was neat and tidy. It was great to be able to go to the lobby in the morning with the option to bring breakfast back to the room.

This is the second year my son and I have traveled back home and stayed here. The staff was very nice and helpful. The facility was clean and in working order. We had adjoining rooms because my son 15 wanted a place he could reconnect with some childhood friends. It was perfect.

We have stayed at this hotel many times because we have children who have/are attending Taylor University. It is always clean, the staff is competent and friendly and it is convenient. We will be back!

Traveling with family is always an adventure. We decided to take our chances and see how far we could drive on our way to the next destination. We made it to Gas City and were happy to find clean and comfortable accommodations at this Best Western. Since we had a teenager with us we would have liked the pool to be open later in the evening and earlier in the morning. We did find exactly what we came for, a pillow and a bed so we could rest well and get on the road again.

The Best Western Plus in Gas City, IN was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The staff is very professional and courteous. It's a very clean hotel and the beds are very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying here again.

The room was dirty: bathroom floor with stains, carpeting in room needed a thorough cleaning, and overall cleanliness was horrible. Also, could hear the people in the rooms next to me and above me. Definitely no sound barriers present. Paid >$150.00 to stay here and have paid much less at Holiday Inn Express where the room was exceptional! Will NEVER stay here again!

The bathroom was not well cleaned and the bed was uncomfortable. when I work up the next morning my back was hurting. I do not have back problems. They could of did better with the breakfast. The eggs were plain no salt, pepper or cheese and it was cold.

This was a great hotel for a Best Western. Large, clean rooms. No spots on the carpet! I am very picky so this was a pleasant surprise! I will stay here again when I am in the area. We have stayed at this Best Western more than once - and each time we get the Presidential Suite. Great price and love the space. Breakfast was wonderful. This was a nice, clean quiet, hotel. its right off the interstate. its a small town but plenty of options for food and gas. the rooms were clean and comfortable. the staff was nice and helpful. we've stayed at Best Western before and will continue to because we haven't had any problems so far.

We didn't have any grand expectations for this Best Western Plus in Gas City, Indiana. However, a couple of things that happened definitely raised our eyebrows. We arrived back in our room the second day and found that our bed had not been made even though the towels had been replaced, and that the room had not been cleaned. Ok, no biggie, we thought. However, the next morning, as I came out of the shower into the room, a large male housekeeping staff member opened our room door without knocking. He seemed almost as shocked as I was, and took his time closing the door. We were quite disappointed with this lack of professionalism.

The room and hotel were very nice and staff was friendly. I wish there was a restaurant on site as there is very little in the way of food in the area after 9 or 10 pm on week nights. We got in late and had to drive a distance to find food when we were already tired of driving.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and told us about the rewards club. With the rewards club we were able to get an upgrade so we went to a King jacuzzi room. The room was very large. The room had a frig and microwave. The bed was comfortable and they had coffee in the lobby all evening. We had a great start to our day with the breakfast that was well appointed. We would stay her again for sure.

From the moment I arrived until check-out the hotel staff I encountered were polite and professional. The hotel was clean from the lobby to my room. Breakfast both mornings was hot and tasty. I will stay here again next time I'm in the area. The cost of the stay was reasonable.

Our king size room was large, clean, had comfortable mattress, frig and microwave. The facility had an indoor pool, offered a good start up breakfast, and was conveniently located next to a Cracker Barrel and an English fare restaurant. Staff were friendly.

Best Western in Gas City is awesome they treat me awesome every time I am there. I love this place convenient and easy to get to get to food places I stay there at least 20 nights a year. I love it here and would recommend it to anyone in the area.

I spent an overnight mid-week and found everything to be just right. The location and breakfast were what drew me to this hotel, and I was not disappointed. The room was comfortable, bedding and towels fluffy, carpet clean.

I stopped at this facility on a Sunday night, very tired from a long day of traveling. I didn't have a reservation, but was able to get a room for a very reasonable rate. The room had both a mini fridge and a microwave, plus free wifi. The best part was the breakfast: bagels, toast, sausage, gravy, biscuits, eggs, French toast, freshly made Belgian waffles, plus the usual fare. It was very impressive. I will definitely stay there again.

This is a great place for us to stay while we visited our granddaughter at Taylor U. Have stayed here before and have always had a good experience. We will certainly stay here again and will also recommend it to our friends.

I have stayed here many times on business. The staff is always friendly and my room is always clean. They have a great quality hot breakfast. Also a couple of good restaurants in the area. Check out the little restaurant next to the hotel- Payne's. It was great! I recommend this for business or pleasure.

This hotel is the best place to stay in Gas CIty/ Marion area. It is right off the interstate and they have the best customer service and nice clean hotel. The atmosphere of just walking in makes that clear. The other hotel we visited was dark and gloomy vibe and rude employees. Nice restauraunt places to get a bite to eat and drink within walking distance.

Our family was visiting Taylor University in Upland, IN. This hotel was just right: comfortable, attractive, friendly staff, good price. Good selection of breakfast options, including make your own waffles, almond milk, hot breakfast (biscuits & gravy, sausage). It also had a conveyor-belt type toaster. The orange juice was very good - I don't normally drink it or like it because it's too acidic for my stomach, but I didn't have any problems. The ice maker was across the hall but I didn't hear it while in the room. It was interesting that there were only 3 towels when we had registered for 4. As it turned out, my daughter spent the night at Taylor so we didn't need the 4th, or I would have called for another towel. Good pillows!

I was attending a conference in Marion, Indiana and had booked two rooms with a hotel online. When we arrived to the hotel we found it to be dirty, rundown, and unsafe. Needless to say we could not stay there! Unfortunately, because of the conference all the hotels in the city were already booked. I found the Best Western in Gas City (10 miles from the conference) with one available room. I booked the room and we drove to Gas City. When I arrived the staff was extremely friendly. While paying for my room, I explained my situation with the other hotel. I mentioned that I really needed two rooms but was just thankful to find at least one in the area. The manager, Charity, started to look in her system for any rooms that they might have for me. She even called people who had reservations and had not shown up yet! Because of her efforts, she was able to find one reservation that was not going to be used. I booked the other room right away. I can't thank her and her staff enough! We were able to have a comfortable stay and focus on the conference. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

My family from 4 different states, stayed at the hotel for my Dad's funeral and the staff were so kind and allowed us to bring food and have it in the eating area. The kids were allowed to play games and enjoy all of the facilities.

A fine property to stay in, when in East North Central Indiana. Located near enough to serve Marion, Upland, Hartford City, as well as it's host community, Gas City. The free breakfast is far better than most other hotels/motels offer, and the pool was very nice.

Had a family emergency in my home town; I was able to get a room at the last minute. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, no complaints. There was some construction/remodeling on the other half of the 1st floor. But that didn't cause any issues.

We wanted a modern, clean motel near a good restaurant. We got it. The check-in process was semi-painfully slow and a bit odd overall ("You have to take two keys even if it is just one person, that's how we do it.") The clerks seemed a bit unaccustomed to it all, and somewhat friendly but it felt like we interrupted their time together. The room was newish and clean. Everything worked (except the treadmill), The breakfast was motel standard, but the cereal was fine and we weren't into the biscuit gravy thing or the big waffles. We were glad we found this place, and the Paynes restaurant next door was the hit of the night - absolutely delicious.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and kept up. The price is right for the stay. Absolutely loved the full hot continental breakfast. You get what you pay for. I will definitely be returning to this Best Western Plus in the future.

This is a clean hotel with professional staff. The room was very nice, very clean, and there was good water pressure and lots of hot water. Coffee was available in the room, and there was ice in the ice machine in the hall. The only snafu was that either there was a deaf person in the room next to mine, or the walls were very thin because I could hear their television quite clearly through the wall.

This hotel is good overall. However, the noise from the highway is pretty intense. Even with earplugs you can hear traffic go by all night. Air conditioning/heating is a loud window fixture as well, so that doesn't help. Either noise from highway or from machine. Otherwise, breakfast was pretty good (though microwaved eggs and all other hot stuff isn't quite great) and they've updated it well enough. You can tell it was an old Best Western. They put a face-lift on it. Not much nearby except Chinese, Mexican, and an interesting but expensive restaurant across the street.

I was very pleased when I arrived at this hotel. The room was big and appeared clean. My first night there my friend said she killed a roach in her tub. I brushed it off because there Can be a random bug. The next night I woke up at 2:15 with a roach crawling down my arm. I screamed and knocked it in the floor and beat it with my house shoe. I turned on the tv to calm myself down. In about 10 minutes another roach crawled on me. I screamed through my covers off and there was a roach in my bed. I threw a shirt over my gown and put a pair of pants on and ran to the front desk. She asked me if I wanted to change rooms??? (No-I love to have roaches crawl on me as I sleep). I moved to an upper floor but had to check out the next day because I couldn't sleep. None of management ever called to apologize everyone acted like nothing happened. Bottom line. Stay at your own risk

This hotel was so clean and nice! It is reasonably priced too! The hotel staff is courteous and helpful. I was there for 5 nights and was greeted each time I entered the hotel by their friendly staff. I stayed in a king size room and the room was very spacious. It was nice to have extra space so it didn't feel crowded. The bed was comfortable. There is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. There is also a NICE blow dryer that you can hold in your hand easily (there is also the typical blow dryer on the wall, if you prefer that kind). Breakfast was good too. A little above the average hotel breakfast. I look forward to returning to this hotel in December.

Very nice, clean room. Comfortable beds. Very affordable. Workers at from desk were very friendly. Nice pool. Close to interstate and restaurants. Would recommend Payne's for dinner and dessert, or coffee. It is just across the parking lot.

Gas City was my home town. Went back for a visit this past August staying at the Best Western. The hotel was spotless and more important was the staff who was awesome, answering any questions we had. It was an enjoyable stay & we thank you!

With the kind staff, great amenities, and central location, this is a great hotel to consider staying at. They had a fitness room, meeting rooms, a nice sized pool, and very pleasant rooms. The Wi-Fi also worked very well and at high speed.

If you need a hotel in Gas City I recommend this one. Very modern up to date with all the amenities you would expect at a competitive price. The hotel was also located next to Gas City's best restaurant, Payne's.

First impressions for a hotel are critical. Mine was booking the room over the phone. Agnes, the clerk I spoke to left me on the hook (what she called hold) over 5 minutes as I overheard some employee kerfuffle in the background... Loudly! When she finally came back to me, she had difficulty with our info input (could not locate our pref cust#, messed up our phone # and last name, all having me to repeat several times.). Upon arrival was surprised we actually had room. The lobby was dated, but exceptionally clean. The rooms, however were not. The room smelled musty, like dirty linen, so much so I did a sheet check. The room was also dusty and had cobwebs hanging off the fixtures. From the outside, the sun curtains looked shabby, as did the hotel exterior. They do get kudos for their breakfast service. In a place where never expected to see healthy choices like egg whites, they actually when above and beyond. Overall, this BW is OK but a Plus? Nope! This hotel could be so MUCH BETTER with just a little staff re-education.

I really enjoyed the quietness of our room. Sleeping peacefully was not a problem. The room was exceptionally clean. One of the best breakfast bars of any place I have ever been. Plenty of dining and shopping within a 3 mile area.

The hotel itself is not bad. The staff was really friendly. The rooms were clean, simple layout & parking. The pool size (tiny) was disappointing. However, the worst thing about this place they can't fix!!! The highway noise is awful! I don't know what the deal is but it echoes terribly and is loud all night!! By the second night I was so frustrated I downloaded a sleep noise app on my phone just to get some sleep.

We stayed here for our son's wedding. It was a perfect location for us because it was right off the interstate and close to where we needed to be for the wedding. The breakfast was delicious each morning and we really appreciated the use of the pool each evening as we were so tired and ready to relax each day. The staff was friendly and always honored our requests. We had the princess suite, it allowed for a lot of space and comfort. I was concerned at first because we were right next to the elevator and thought it would be noisy. It was extremely quiet our entire stay. I would definitely stay here again. Keep up the good work.

The facility was nice and clean, breakfast as always was awesome. The staff on the other hand were a little lack luster. Wife and I booked a king room with a jacuzzi tub, no issues... When we arrived we were provided a standard room with two queens. Called the front desk to discuss and they were somewhat flexible and indicates they would probably be able to put us in a different room but sounded put out for having been asked to do so. We opted to stay in the room provided, but upon inspection of the room invoice in the morning, they charged us the full amount for the king room with the jacuzzi tub. So we got to spend 20 minutes of quality time with the front desk staff in the morning to try to get our biff corrected. They were finally able to do so.

Clean - priced right - good location - Would stay there again - and refer friends and family. Cracker Barrel in walking distance and also a family type restaurant right next door with great food. Our stay was in June 2015

the room was very nice,updated,clean.the pool area was clean. the front desk staff took care of our every need.the only negative thing was noise at night, doors slamming and people talking. would stay there again though

Overall, we were satisfied with the quality of this hotel. Outside appearance was nice. Lobby was simple and clean. Room was clean and free of any odors. Pillows could have been softer. Bed was ok. Did feel the springs a bit. Did not get to the breakfast bar in time, so that is unknown.

It was a nice place to stay on our way to the race with our family. Restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast selection was good and served early enough that we got an early start. 1 1/2 hour from the race track. Helpful hint though, DO NOT get off the interstate at Binford Boulevard to 38th street. Took over two hours to get to the parking lots going that way. Stay on the interstate.

We stopped for the night on our way to our destnation. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. Fresh made waffles and eggs for breakfast were delicious. We would definitely recommend his hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and it has always been a good stay. Convenient to the Interstate, good dining options and a clean hotel. Their breakfast is always good, although moderate. They have an indoor pool and I think they have an outdoor pool although we have never used it. The area around Gas City is growing. The really nice thing is that it is near a really good ice cream parlor in Upland, called Ivanhoe's. Worth the trip.

I can recommend this hotel for people due to the quietness and cleanliness. The bed was so comfortable that my husband doesn't want to get up from bed the following morning. In a nutshell, the room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable......Olu. A

The hotel is at the intersection of the Interstate and Gas City main street, so it was easy to get anyway. The facility was very clean. The pool looked great. The business (computer) room was very functional. Breakfast was quite nice - lots of variety. All the staff were very friendly and ready to help any way they could. Their vending machine had real snacks, not just drinks, for those late night munchies. The refrigerator and microwave in the room was convenient for when we wanted to stay in. The jet tub was awesome.

This hotel is always clean and neat. The Breakfast was excellent. I have stayed her many times and I always find the staff friendly and helpful. It's a convenient location next to the highway (does have some highway noise - but not horrible). Thank you BW for your great service and a good value.

This is a great hotel. Easy access off of the interstate. Its clean, has comfortable beds and a good breakfast is included. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We have stayed here before and will be back on our next visit

My husband and I stayed at this Best Western Plus when we were in the area to attend the funeral of a precious friend. When we arrived, we were greeted by Christina. She was very friendly and promptly checked us in and was very helpful. The following morning, we meet another staff member, Janelle. She also was very friendly and was taking care of the breakfast area making sure it was well stocked. Upon checkout, we were then greeted by Alisha. She too was a helpful staff member that helped us get signed up on the rewards program. I have nothing but good words and praise for this location of Best Western Plus. This location is pet friendly and recently updated which is a big plus too us. Our room was spotless and our bed was comfortable too. My husband and I had never stayed at a Best Western before and will be trying other locations for future travels. This hotel delivered all and more of what the website had listed. The staff made our trip. Christina, Janelle and Alisha made us feel so welcome.

Super clean, friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is in great condition. Room was super clean, nice decor, comfortable bedding, every thing was spotless. Everything seemed brand-new. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was comfortable and the employees were helpful and friendly. The non-smoking room had a bit of a "smokey" smell to it but we opened the windows to air it out and it seemed to help. The breakfast was very good and the beds very comfortable. Would come back again...!

The pool was on the small side and we had to get our towels from the front desk for some reason, but other than that, the hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean and up to date, we had no issues with wifi, the staff was friendly, and breakfast was delicious. We paid less for the same amenities elsewhere but at a much older hotel whose rooms were out of date.

Our one night stay was very nice. The room was clean, the furniture was in good shape. The mini refrigerator was actually cold. We have been to so many hotels where the mini refrigerator barely chills the food. Good TV. My only minor gripe is that on the complimentary breakfast buffet, they had scrambled egg whites. No regular scrambled eggs. I thought that was odd. The rest of the buffet was very good.

Easy access with eating options within walking distance. Large parking lot which is nice. Rooms great.. didn't notice any issues with the soft water mentioned in another review. Beds and pillows comfortable. Friendly staff with a decent morning breakfast.

The property itself is nice enough - a multi-story building with an elevator and a big lobby with adjoining breakfast room. The woman that checked us in was pleasant. The room (#238) was a good size, and the bathroom had a large counter (granite even) and mirror, which was helpful since there were two of us. The breakfast was the usual bonanza of S.A.D. processed food, but the coffee was good. That all said, the water was horribly soft. I HATE soft water and that slimy feeling you can't get rid of. This wasn't a problem the last time we stayed here (maybe a year or so ago?) and the water wasn't soft next door at Payne's (a wonderful restaurant where we had dinner the night we arrived on this visit). Therefore, all I can guess is that either the personnel maintaining the water softener at the hotel are careless or don't know the right amount of salt to use; or management has directed those personnel to over-soften the water in order to extend the life of the plumbing. Either way, we probably won't stay there again.

I'M very particular about cleanliness and staff attitudes when I travel. This Best Western Plus is an exceptional facility. very clean room. Clean Carpets (Very important to me), courteous friendly house keeping staff, clean pool area. My ONLY negative was the VERY under cooked bacon for breakfast both mornings. Otherwise, the breakfast options were varied and tasty. I definitely recommend this location.

Everything was wonderful!! The complementary hot breakfast was delicious!! Biscuits and Gravy, French Toast with yummy peach slices on top, Egg Whites, Orange Juice...! The pool was warm. I loved that it only went to 5 feet! We are from Indy, and was here for my Mother in Law's funeral. The staff was very comforting! Christina at the front desk was very helpful! I would give her 10 stars! Tamara did a great job cleaning our room during our stay! We felt very special with the way we were treated! Anytime you need to go to Gas City and want to be treated special, stay at this hotel!!! God Loves You! Have a blessed day!!!

Stay was perfect. Room immaculate, staff very courteous, bed super comfortable. Couldn't ask for a better stay. Hotel was clean and quiet. HVAC unit worked to perfection. Breakfast was a bit narrow for choices, but well presented and fresh.

I highly recommend this hotel. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff was very nice and prompt. The breakfast was good only slight concern there was that it ended at 9 a.m and we slept in tell 9 due to arriving at the hotel late. But they did accommodate us which was very nice.

Overall hotel isn't bad... breakfast was good. Pool area is very loud, even with only two people in it. Key cards were not working properly all weekend and caused frequent trips to the front desk. If you are on the first floor, anyone walking on the 2nd floor sounds like an elephant stomping around. Kept me up a lot of the night. Staff seemed overwhelmed at times and it took several minutes to be attended to at the desk.

Having stayed here previously we could tell at check in that something was different and so I asked Elisha "New Owners?" and she said, "No, new manager." Last year we paid $110, this year $80. The young lady (Elisha) that checked us in was bundled up in her winter coat and we found out why during our two day stay...she and the other two women who work there spend an inordinate amount of time nine feet outside the front door to smoke. There is a sign saying the law requires they be 8 feet from the door and although I did not have a tape measure, I made where they stood to be just barely legal. Breakfast had so odd elements (foldover omlets made with cardboard for example) but I actually expected less since they now has a sign advertising "Continental Breakfast" There was lipstick on my pillowcase, which was also off-putting, but actually our stay was better than I thought it was going to be, but... if I were a betting man I'd guess this operation will not be trending upscale.

will definitely stay again. all the features one expects in a good hotel - beds, access, good breakfast, etc. I was particularly pleased at the disabled room. I use a walker and there was a walk-in shower with bench. and the room door was easy to open so this would be a good choice for a wheelchair user.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past five years or so. Prior to this visit, it has been okay. We stayed there for a family visit over Thanksgiving this year and it was the worst stay ever. The staff, in general, lacks hospitality and customer service. They seem more concerned with getting their smoke breaks in rather than servicing guests. One of the worst experiences with this stay happened to my cousin's wife. She got the keys to their room and when she opened the door there was a man on the bed! The hotel staff said no one was supposed to be in there, but clearly that was a mistake. They didn't apologize, just gave then a different room. The front desk staff will leave their post to go smoke outside and will not address guests on the phone or at the desk in a timely or friendly manner. Housekeeping leaves much to be desired with hairs left in the bathrooms and failure to replace towels. Prior to arrival, I called I make a change to my reservation. I was put "on hold", which meant the phone was set on the counter and I listened to everything going on through the phone. Then, the housekeeper picked up the phone and started dial the phone to apparently trying to get her grandma's office number to get a ride home. Front desk clerk told her to tell me I would have to call back. Needless to say, we will stay at the nearby Holiday inn express next visit.

very nice hotel in Gas City, IN. Excellent value. The best alternative for the area. Its right off the interstate for your convenience. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Includes refrigerator, microwave and cable tv.

Have stayed at this hotel while visiting our granddaughter at Taylor University in the past and stayed here again this time. It is convenient to Taylor, to town,clean, at a good price. The staff is very helpful and has a good breakfast.

This is a good stopping point as you travel through Indiana, as the hotel is easily accessed off of I-69. There are three restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, in this somewhat rural setting, and a Starbuck's on the other side of the freeway. It was a little slow checking in, as the desk clerk had to leave to find a housekeeper to see if our room was ready for occupancy. Free breakfast is served daily. There is a small indoor pool, but no hot tub. Our room was clean and comfortable with a king bed, fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. We snagged a AAA discount and got the room for $98.10, plus taxes. While not a noisy hotel, the fan kicks off and on, so we ran a white-noise app on our i-pad for consistent sound and slept well.

We only encountered two main people on our stay and both had a lot to be desired. On checking in the woman seemed unsure of her job. I had to ask her to please give me my keys and when I asked her if she knew how to get somewhere in Fairmount (8 miles away) she acted like she had no idea where it was. I watched her walk out the front door and start to smoke, looked very unprofessional. The next morning when we went to breakfast we found no knifes and one pastry left on the shelf. It was only 9:15am. The lady in charge was behind the desk talking to the same woman we encountered the day before. I had to go to her and ask her if she could come and restock some things in the breakfast area. I asked her if she had more pastries and she said "no". I said, really there are none left. She said, "yes, but they are frozen". She said I could put them in the microwave I guess. I asked her if she could get them. The waffle machine wasn't working correctly because all of our waffles were dark brown and hard. She acted like we were putting her out. This was 45 minutes before they were to close the breakfast area. The rooms themselves were nice, except for the pillows, but the two employees that we encountered sort of ruined it for us. You could tell they were just putting in their time. Sorry to write such a bad review because the hotel was really pleasing to the eye, but it's your employees that make it or break it for you.

Very pleasant, clean and taken care of. No smell in the rooms, and decor was very nice. Great value for your money! The location is great right off the highway and in an area with restaurants, gas stations and other amenities. Close to a couple of Universities and quaint little towns.

Easy on/off Interstate. Nice clean spot with good services and friendly staff. Good local restaurant within walking distance. Breakfast had good selection and area nice, clean and well kept. We will stay here again if we are in the area.

This facility is definitely our "First Choice" when making our frequent trips into the area to visit our 2 students at Taylor University ! It is nice to know that such a hotel awaits us, when we think about going to Indiana.

If visiting nearby Fairmount and Marion for the James Dean Gallery, Fairmount Museum and Dean Birthsite Memorial, then the Best Western Plus in Gas City is the best of the area. The staff is incredibly nice, the rooms are comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Free breakfast is a plus - Do NOT miss Payne's restaurant next door, it beats any restaurant - anywhere - even my hometown Los Angeles. I tried almost everything on the menu, we went for every meal, and the soups cannot be beat. I miss it already!

We were in Gas City for my wife's high school reunion (I won't mention the year). Our travel agent and personal inquiries indicated there wasn't a great selection of hotels in Gas City, so we didn't know what to expect. We were pleased. Just outside of town on the expressway, this Best Western looks and feels new. The room was your usual motel room. It was clean, comfortable and housekeeping was prompt. Our first room had a drain problem in the restroom, so we were quickly relocated. Two staff members assisted us in the relocation, even bringing an ottoman that wasn't in the new room. An indoor pool is located just off the lobby as are the elevators. The complimentary breakfast bar was attended by two people and included meats and eggs as well as the usual pastries, bagels, cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt. We enjoyed the breakfast time as a Liverpool soccer team was in town to play Taylor University. It was fun meeting some of them as well as listening to their accents.

I stayed at this facility when I was in Indiana for school. I attend Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, but all hotels were booked. This place was a very pleasant surprise. The staff were excellent (Emily, Marcie, Von and Shay) made my stay were nice. I can't forget Aleshia (not shift)...I had an emergency in the middle of the night and Aleshia took care of everything! The room was huge with a larger than most flat screen. A chair and ottoman. Huge jacuzzi tub --King bed with comfortable pillows and a large desk with several USB ports. It was easy to work here. The breakfast served in the hotel was great with lots of food choices and a tray to take your breakfast back to the room of you like. There is a Burger King across the road, a little frozen yogurt place next to the hotel and a Crackerbarrel restaurant directly in front of the hotel. I had several great meals there! Even though the hotel was nice, the staff was nicer, they made me feel like a celebrity!!! I would love to stay there again. As I was leaving, the manager offered to help me arrange a taxi into Marion. Excellent customer service is my fondest memory of this Best Western Hotel!!! Thank you guys!!

This is the 4th time we have stayed in this hotel while attending college events. It is close to 69 and close to the college. We found it to be very comfortable and convenient. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Definitely recommended for anyone traveling through this area!
