    « disapointed »

we have stayed at this property 6 times and kept coming back. not anymore. our room was back in the FAR back which was not what we requested in our reservation request. the cooler sounded like a time bomb (it was unplugged by us). the pool was freezing cold. the hot tub was the temperature of a warm pool. the adjoining restaurant was closed. the showere did not drain. we will NOT be back................

    « Quiet and Friendly »

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The lobby was inviting with fresh coffee and comfortable seating. The on-site restaurant was very good with good choices for breakfast. It was a quiet and enjoyable stay.

    « Okay »

In a nutshell we were on a motorcycle ride. We wanted a room with a hot tub. This was the first that was available. Great location, great friendly staff. BUT the hotel is in need of a major update. Bed was not that comfortable and slightly pricey for accomodations.

    « Not a place I'd stay again »

Lumpy pillows and a very hard mattress. Mold in the shower and not plug in by the desk for my computer. My feet got dirty just walking across the carpet. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room smelled like air freshener and cigarette smoke.

    « Enjoyable »

Hotel was very quaint. Room was clean. Comfortable bed. Easy access to interstates. Nice pool and hot tub area. Free breakfast came with room and was order off the menu. The breakfast was very tasty and coffee was good.

« Days of the Motor Lodge Relived »

This hotel was reminisant of the old Motor Inns, where you pulled your car right up to your door and got to know your neighbor in the next room. It was EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN! This was a business trip and we had stayed at three other higher end Hotels with popular names for the two weeks prior to this last stop. This was the ONLY one that had no mold anywhere in the bathroom, the carpet had been vacuumed, the sheets smelled freshly washed, and the list goes on. And it was surprisingly quiet. The lobby and coffee area was nicely done. I loved walking in to see groups of people having what appeared to be a "Bridge Night" meeting at a nice area the hotel has outside the pool area. And about that pool, I regret not bringing a swim suit!! Pool side rooms in a nice area surrounded by lush plants. Not overly chlorinated or hot in the enclosed space. And then there was breakfast. Excellent coffee in the little diner where you are served from your choice off a full menu - included in the low price of your room. Bacon cooked perfectly. Staff was friendly and warm, helpful but not hovering. The upgrades to this place, while leaving that old time 50's & 60's feel to the place were done well. I would absolutely stay here again!!!

« Friendly Staff; Fabulous Breakfast »

What a friendly staff we were greeted by upon arrival. It was late when we arrived and the only room left was a pet-friendly room. The staff member let us see the room, which was clean and smelled fresh. She also went out of her way to get extra towels for us when we inquired at the desk. The complimentary breakfast next door was amazing! The service and food were outstanding! My daughter and I split one breakfast that included two eggs, two sausage patties, two strips of bacon, and two huge pancakes! It was the best breakfast we had on our entire trip! The cost of our room was a little higher for the four of us, but we certainly got our money's worth from the free breakfast!

    « comfortable »

chose this hotel because they allow pets. Usually stay at La Quinta because of their free pet policy but no LQ available in Emporia. The accommodations were very nice and they provide a great breakfast but the price per pet is a little high.

    « Emporia stay »

If I were traveling for pleasure I would definitely consider BW. Dogs are allowed. The price is great if you are watching your money and don't want bugs of other discomforts. I would definitely put these way ahead of Super 8, motel 6's or any other motel.

    « Ok stay »

We spent one night here while visiting the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. We had our dog with us and there were decent places to walk with her. They serve a nice sit-down breakfast. No complaints about the room.

    « Pleasure trip »

Every thing went very well. Room was very clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the accommodations were just great. I definitely would recommend your motel to all my friends and relatives. thanks again for a very nice stay.

« Not the place to stay »

This is an old motel in an iffy section of town. Not particularly clean although you can tell the maids have tried. The water did not drain in the sink, shower was weak, tv did not work until we called the front desk for help, towels were old and thin, the king bed was not that comfortable and had a scratchy wool blanket under the sheet/duvet. The best thing about this stay was a free breakfast that was like a normal restaurant, ordering off a menu and having choices. I would never stay here again.

    « Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover... »

Although the outside of this hotel is a little dated, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and clean the rooms were in this hotel. The service was excellent and you won't find a better breakfast anywhere... did I mention it was free!

    « Flea infestation »

This was, and still is by far the worst travel experience we have ever had. We've kept returning to the BestWestern in Emporia Kansas in spite of not being able to get into our room because of faulty door key cards, clogged shower drains, and unbelievably bad smells from the nearby Tyson chicken factory, all for two simple reasons: it's so close to where we need to be, and the breakfast at Nona's restaurant. The flea infestation is the last straw. After we figured out what was going on we spent the last night (unable to sleep) trying to catch fleas. We put at least five in a cup and took them to the front desk when we checked out. The poor clerk behind the desk was not surprised. He said he had told the owner many times about fleas jumping around on his desk. So the fleas were not just in our room, they were everywhere. The staff and owner had known about them. They had known and still accepted and charged guests, not saying a word about it. My wife and I bought trash bags and bagged all our clothes and luggage up. As soon as we got home we vacuumed out our car and washed the clothes we had on. We've spent all of today washing, cleaning, and vacuuming every inch of our house. We both have flea bits as a reminder of our stay, and have found one flea in our house. This one flea will undoubtedly lead to a month long regiment to insure we have killed any fleas we've unwittingly brought into our house. We will think twice before ever staying at a Best Western again.

    « Our Second Stay »

Emporia, KS, is a good halfway point for us on an annual trip from TX to MN. It's easy to find when you come off the highway, and if you're looking for fast food, there are options close by. The hotel is an older Best Western, but appears to be well maintained and managed. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was an ironing board and iron, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, and two luggage stands. There were enough cable channels to keep us entertained after 10 hours in the car. Our check-in and check-out were handled professionally. The only problem that we had with the room was the recliner. The headrest and armrests have a greasy look, which is common on upholstered furniture that gets lots of use. Using fitted plastic covers that could be sanitized on those areas would make use of the chair more appealing.

    « Good stay »

Desk clerk was very pleasant upon checking in. We found the room to be smaller than the newer places but was very clean. Sheets on bed were really soft and clean. Old style motel where you parked vehicle immediately in front of the door. Easy access to the room. Did not feel insecure about that. Breakfast was fine. Complimentary and cooked to order. Will definitely stay there again if in the area

« solid room, met my needs »

hotel was provided by conference, might have stayed here on my own anyway from trip advisor reviews... we were in the back row of rooms, were party rooms where they connect internally.. seemed like noise traveled more than most... comfortable bed, nice water pressure... that's all I need...

« Wonderful place to stay »

After originally being put in a disgusting hotel by the student conference I was with, the girls I was rooming with and I decided we couldn't stay there any longer so we called Best Western. It was late at night and we were hoping and praying for something, anything, a little better than Knights Inn in Emporia, KS. When we arrived at Best Western, the management was so welcoming and friendly. We told him about our horrid experience at the Knights Inn and he gave us a discount. As young college kids, we were so thankful for his generosity. This hotel has a great complementary, sit-down breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was great! The hotel is well-kept. I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel to anybody going to Emporia, KS.

« Excellent, I'm satisfied from this stay »

Hotel is nice, staff OK, everything was OK. It was my first visit in this hotel and it was nice stay. Thank you very much, I tell the others about my positive opinion. I wish you all the best in the fiture

« Great hospitality and service »

I am so thankful that my two friends and I came upon this hotel while we were in Emporia, KS for a conference. We were placed in a nasty hotel just down the road, and we decided to pay out of pocket for a better hotel (the other hotel was paid for by the conference, that is how bad it was). After we told the man at the front desk of our situation, he gave us a manager's discount on our room! As poor college kids paying for a new hotel we did not plan on paying for, we were extremely grateful. It was very home-y on the inside, and smelled like pumpkin spice. We had a free sit-down breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee. It was delicious! I would highly recommend staying in this hotel if you are stopping in Emporia, KS!

« Galveston, On the Wall »

was very happy, enjouyed our stay, everything was clean, towels available at all times at the pool, staff and all were extremely friendly, and they went out of there way to surprise my family with a birthday slice of cake and a bottle of champagne, was far and beyond. We will deffinately stay here again for sure.

« Great breakfast ,average hotel »

The hotel is mostly outdoor cord or older property but still in good shape staff is helpful at that time they didn't have a luggage cart or a water cooler the owner did promise that those two things would be taken care of so here's hoping

« Wish I Could Give an Average Rating but... »

This is an older facility that does not feel warm and welcoming. The exterior and reception area were very unattractive. The room itself was fine; it was clean, the carpet was in decent shape and the bed slept well. Our room had a ripped bed skirt that should be replaced. The room had a good size refrigerator, microwave and the AC worked well but it dripped all over the sidewalk out front. The hand towels need to be replaced as they were very scratchy and uncomfortable for drying your face. Breakfast was as others have described but we had no problem being served as we were the only people in the restaurant at 0700 in the morning. You have 6 to 7 meals to choose from or you can select two al a carte items. The size of the breakfasts could best be called meager but I anticipated this. The western omelet I selected said it was a three egg omelet but they had to be small eggs as the omelet itself was the size of a two egg omelet. To go with the omelet you had a choice of hash browns or toast. We did ask about getting pancakes instead of hash browns and were told ?the hotel has told us we can no longer substitute items?. In fact the server said this is difficult for people who must eat gluten free as they cannot substitute an item with gluten (toast) for potatoes. A time when this would be helpful is with the two eggs, bacon and toast option. You do get coffee and a glass of juice with the meal. My feeling was that the cost of the breakfast items must have increased to the point where they had to severely cut back. My advise would be that the hotel quit offering free breakfast entirely, that way their guests will not be disappointed.

« Best Western Hospitality House »

We were very well taken care of at the Best Western Hospitality House. After spending close to 9 hours on our 2 motorcycles, my wife and I were able to enjoy a comfortable stay on a warm Sunday evening. Also, the front desk gave me a military discount seeing the veteran on my drivers license.

    « Room was chilly-damp all night »

The dampness of the room might have been related to all the rain Kansas was receiving when we visited. But even with the AC on high, the dampness never seemed to go away. The next morning when we ate at the adjoining restaurant, which was good, but the men's bathroom there was grim.

    « ESU Hornet Football »

Great place to stay, easy in and out. We stay here for ESU football games. Watch a little football, hot tub at night, wouldn't stay anywhere else. Treat you like family. Top it off you get free breakfast at the diner. We have reservations for all home games.

    « We'd stay again »

Pool area freshly painted. Parking lot sealed and new striping. King room with nice recliner, fridge and microwave. Cold AC. Breakfast included off the menu in the resturant. Great, fast service. We'd stay again.

    « Nice Facility »

Older facility, what's important to you, air conditioning great. Hot days are here again but the room air was ice cold. Clean facility. Friendly staff. Breakfast was included with the room, the breakfast was very good, but very rigid, you had the menu and the hotel menu, no substitutions or alterations permitted. WiFi was pretty decent compared to most, did not use the pool but looked clean, indoors and the people using it appeared to be have fun.

    « I expect better from a Best Western »

The good: Room seemed clean, decent bed, receptionist/front desk clerk was polite and helpful. The bad: Room was very outdated (maybe 1970's), external entry rooms. For breakfast, they have a partnership with the in-house restaurant for an item off their menu. I'm not sure which items are included because we waited for 15 minutes in a not that busy restaurant at 8:00 am on a Sunday morning and got no service. We weren't the only ones, several others walked out as well. TV was also setup wrong, had to go through some setup to get the input to work, then everytime it started I had to set it up again. Could barely get wifi and then it would always drop, essentially unusable. In general, I've come to expect better and have had way better stays at Best Westerns. I should have settled for the Motel 6 down the road.

    « Not Too Bad »

We have stayed here twice. It is not a bad place to stay. Front desk people have been very pleasant. Don't believe it is worth the price though. They give vouchers for breakfast at the adjoining restaurant. The food was okay but not good size portion. I noticed a paying customer had something similar to mine but larger. We understand this is "free" with staying at the motel. I'm sure that is built into the rate.

« We will be back »

This was a great place to stay. We have no complaints and will rebook the next time we are in town. The room had more than enough space, the bed was very comfortable, The pool and spa was nice and the breakfast was delicious.

    « Poor breakfast service »

The hotel was great for our experience except for the breakfast. We waited for over an hour and still hadn't received our food. Several guests arrived after us and had finished their food in less than 30 minutes. We left after we asked our server if our food was almost ready and she said it was just getting started.

« Ok but not what I expected »

Very disappointed in this stay.Asked for a roll-away bed didn't have any or extra blankets either. The bed we slept in was very uncomfortable. The restaurant next door where you get free breakfast item was changed. You no longer get to substitute any breakfast items.

    « Decent Value »

Room was clean, bed comfortable, AC worked fine, but early in the morning when next room was showering, our bathroom pipes started making horrible noise.......I had to go into bathroom and opened our shower spigot to stop it.

« Best Western Emporia, Kansas »

The Best Western Motel in Emporia, Kansas is a good value. It is an older but well maintained brick motel so appears to be dated. Our room was clean and neat. The employees were very helpful and accommodating when we asked for a non-adjoining room. The restaurant breakfast was an outstanding value. We would stay at this facility again. Del Chausse

« Find somewhere else to stay in Emporia. »

We stayed at this hotel during a family reunion that was held in Emporia. Another member of the family had chosen this as a place for family to stay. Not sure if they chose it based on experience or not. We arrived on a Friday afternoon around 2pm and left on Sunday morning. Our room was not ready for check-in as they said it was being cleaned, so we went and ate a late lunch and checked in a bit after 3. Pros-beds were comfy, shower was nice, fridge and microwave, breakfast included each morning in the attached restaurant. Pool was nice although it was so deathly hot in there that you couldn't hardly stay in there over 30 minutes at a time. (No ventilation) Cons-Our room was never cleaned the entire time we were there. We put a do not disturb sign up our first morning to breakfast, but since it wasn't cleaned anytime during the whole stay, I doubt they tried during that brief time in the morning. The first day at the pool, there were no towels at the pool, so I went to the front desk to ask and was told they only had one towel and would have to go to the maintenance room to get more (as if it were an inconvenience). I waited politely for them to go get another towel for our two swimmers. The second day of stay, I went in the late afternoon to ask for clean towels for our room (no one asked me if our room hadn't been cleaned, and they didn't mention anything as to why we would need towels). I asked for 3 towels for 3 people. They looked under cabinet and only had 2. I told them I had 3 people. They had to leave the building and go elsewhere again to get one more towel. Another couple in our party, in a separate room, didn't get their room cleaned either, and asked for towels to be brought to their room (while they were out of the room). The towels were brought in and none of the dirty towels were picked up out of the tub. Meanwhile, there were tags hanging in the room that if you wished to have towels replaced, please leave towels on floor. Not sure why no rooms were getting cleaned or what the shortage of towels are, but it needs to be looked into. This motel has rooms that open onto the streets, in two building strips that are behind the main building. I might say it's a little creepy, especially if arriving at night (as some of our party did that were in other rooms).

    « False advertising. »

Traveling via our Harleys and chose this facility based on website info. After 450 miles wanted to enjoy restaurant on site as stated on website. CLOSED. very disaponted. Rooms ok, while facility appears old. Asked for additional decaf coffee for room which only had one bag, told they had no more. Not one of Best westerns better facilities. May now choose other chain hotel on my cross country travels.

    « Business travel »

BEDBUGS!!! This hotel is so old, nasty, smelly, dirty. It should just be torn down. I stayed here 2 nights June 2016. Worst hotel I ever stayed in. Woke up the 2nd morning, bed bug on my pillow!! Bites on my body! The free breakfast was a sham. One waitress, one cook, no food on any tables. People at the next table had been waiting 45 minutes, still no food. Save yourselves, save your luggage. Go out to freeway and stay at one of the newer hotels, there's a holiday inn express there looks new. I wish I had. I drove back to KC and deloused my luggage and body!!!

« Rate Hike during the Dirty Kanza »

We paid roughly $200 for a room during Dirty Kanza early June for a room that normally would have rented for $50 or less. I do appreciate we were able to get a room but don't appreciate the gouging that happened here. I would opt to stay in a tent next time given the option to stay here.

« Hospitable, comfortable, clean, renovated »

Lives up to it's hospitality title. Dave greeted us with a cheery smile and we felt truely welcomed by his attentive attitude. The outside structure appears 70s but the rooms are nicely renovated. Everything is clean including the carpet. We were in our room 10 minutes and received a call from David to make sure all was well with the room and to please bring to his attention any problems or needs. Well done! The room had refrigerator, microwave, 2 baggage stands, hair drier, ironing board and iron, pillow-top mattress (both of us very comfortable, not too soft, my husband likes firm mattresses) and soft to firm pillow choices. The bathroom wasn't cramped, nice shower with plenty of hot water, nicely stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. Excellent! The indoor pool and whirlpool were nicely landscaped and well kept. Nice touch with rock waterfall on one side. Complimentoy breakfast was in the attached restaurant served off a limited menu. I was able to substitute fruit for hashbrowns, thank you. Paula efficiently served with a cheery attitude, very attentive and kept the beverages full. We are well rested and cared for to continue our journey. Definitely recommened!

« Business Trip in Emporia, KS »

Hotel is decent, have the service expectation of a motel. Pillows are tiny. Bed and room is clean. Couch sinks in. Most of the rooms open to the street, no hallway. Definitely heard the cops, dogs barking and yelling one night. Breakfast is made to order. Staff are nice and try to make the stay pleasant. Hot showers.

    « Lovely Stay »

It's a standard motel setup, but the staff make you feel very welcome. The breakfast and the staff at Nona's were wonderful. The cleaning staff did a great job working around all the crap we had in our room. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and we slept great. We stayed here last year and are glad we chose the BW again. Didn't have the chance to use the hot tub this time unfortunately.

    « good stay »

Very friendly staff and the free breakfast is delicious! Rooms and the overall decor are a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. Hopefully in the near future the hotel will get a makeover. I would definitely stay there again if I am in Emporia.

« Jeff and Amanda are the BEST!!! »

My car broke down on the turnpike on our way home from Oklahoma. We made it to the Best Western on Sunday afternoon waiting for Ford to open up on Monday. Jeff was very helpful and kind. I had no idea what was going on with my car or how long we would have to stay - both he and Amanda let us stay in the room longer then the checkout time in the mornings which was wonderful because we really had no were to go. It turned out we had to stay until Wednesday to get my car fix. This could have been a bad deal for us but it wasn't and that was because of Jeff and Amanda. They helped us with everything and were very friendly. It was what we needed while waiting for the car. Thank you again for everything. Ann P. - aka The Minnesota Girls.

« Won't stay at this hotel again »

There are positives and negatives about staying at this hotel. First the positives. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location close to the interstate. The negatives are very dirty. I walked across carpet just a few times and the bottom of my socks were already dirty. Obviously needed vacuumed and cleaned. In one corner of the ceiling adjacent from our bed was a cluster of cob webs. Looked behind the chair where a lamp sat looking for a plug in and obviously the base of the lamp had not been dusted in weeks. The walls were thin to the point I could hear our neighbors talk and understood the words being spoken. The housekeepers were anxious to service our room. We were there for a family wedding and my husband and I repeatedly told them daily when we were leaving so they could service our room. The day of the wedding, we were bothered 5 times and 3 of those times we told the housekeeper the exact time we were leaving. Then the last 2 times 15 minutes before we left as already told, the housekeeper knocked on the door wondering if our room could be serviced and then 10 minutes later we received a phone call wondering if we wanted our room service. Very irritating. The pool area was not kept up on. Dead leaves from plant was left laying on the floor all few days we stayed there. Could see dirt and grime sitting at bottom of pool. We will not be staying at this hotel again. This hotel is definitely is in a much lower class than the Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt hotels we have stayed in. There are several opportunities for improvement.

« A Welcoming Place Away From Home »

A family member has medical needs that prevent regular travel. Though Emporia is not a great distance from home we needed a home base while she visited her best friend who had just graduated from college. Emporia Best Western was perfect. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our special needs. Thank you for helping make this a most pleasant experience!

    « Motel not Hotel »

This is an outside entrance motel (not a hotel) with multiple, separate buildings. From our room we had to walk around another building and through 2 parking lots to get to the pool/restaurant in the main building. The room was clean other than a couple of tiny bugs crawling around on the bathroom floor. It was definitely an economical choice, which worked for us because we were mainly there only to sleep at night. I will look for a nicer option next time I'm in town.

    « Average to bad »

Would rate as "OK" if employees were nice and the price was closer to a value. No one seemed to care. Broken items fixed but left on the sink, nothing done to protect anything dropped in sink. Pillows were the smallest I've ever seen. Air conditioner blows directly onto the bed so had to block the air flow with easy chair. Not enough room to open and leave open, two carry on bags. Trash and ?? on walkway/sidewalk.

    « okay, nothing special »

We were in Emporia for a graduation and most of the motels were booked up. We usually prefer Best Westerns for their cleanliness. This room was small but clean. Problem we had was the toilet. It wouldn't flush without my husband having to reach in to the tank and manually flush it. It was late when we arrived and we were tired so didn't even attempt to contact the office. While checking out, my husband told the clerk (who acted like he was upset that he interrupted his computer time) didn't apologize or try to make it right. We won't be back to this best western. There were very few plug in's. Had to unplug lamps, etc. to plug in our cell phones, etc..

    « My Stay »

Everything was fine except the room wasn't as clean as it could have been. The carpet wasn't vacuumed well. The bathroom wasn't real clean. The waist basket had not been emptied. Other than that the room was well furnished and everything operated correctly.

« Very nice place to stay »

The hotel is old school as far as decorations and furnishings. If you bypass all that its a great place to stay and the restaurant next door is super yummy for breakfast. The rooms are really clean and the beds were comfy. My daughter loved the pool as well.We will come back!

    « Will do in a pinch »

Friendly staff and clean rooms. Food at the restaurant is very average and the buildings could use a serious face-lift. The internet was reliable and fast enough to get work done. The location is close to town so everything's within a 5 minute drive.

« Spacious rooms and a good breakfast »

Rooms are a nice size and appeared to be clean and well maintained. I loved the "fresh remote" concept. Wifi was a bit slow. The complimentary breakfast was from the attached restaurant and was very good!

    « Pet Friendly »

We like to stay here because it is very hospitable to pets. Rooms are clean and nice sized. We like being able to park right in front of the room. The breakfast is cooked to order and very tasty. The location is excellent, just off the interstate.

    « Emporia, Kansas »

Exceptionally clean and absolutely no smoking! Wondeful ! Cooling and heating unit worked efficiently. Nona's Restaurant is attached and offered your choice off a full breakfast menu with a couple of exceptions.

    « Rooms »

We had a king bed, even though the bed was hard I liked the size of the room and able to get around somebody else. Same in the bathroom if 2 were in there you could get around each other. I think the trash can was kinda of small. Our room ended up being the hang out room and the trash can filled up rather quick.

Very comfortable room at poolside. However, it was occupied by kids most of the time we were there, so didn't take the time to sit in the hot tub as I had planned. Breakfast was at the attached restaurant vs. the regular Continental offerings. Choice was O.K. but service was slow. Not very appealing for travelers who are anxious to get on the road again.

    « Good Value »

Our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast at the restaurant was very good. The current exterior appearance does not reflect the overall quality of the hotel. The location is also very convenient near the crossroads of I 35 and US 50.

« Clean room and cheerful staff »

We were traveling with my elderly mother and stayed overnight to attend an early morning event. The room was spacious and quiet which surprised me because they were full. Our room was very clean! The staff was very helpful when I asked for extra blankets for my mother. The blankets were provided with a cheerful attitude!! Front desk staff very cheerful, helpful and pleasant.

« 2nd Stay at the Best Western Hospitality House, I will stay again!! »

We have stayed at this hotel several times. We frequent the Granada Theater for rock and country shows and enjoy staying at this property. Staff is always friendly and rooms and grounds are kept clean. Bed is comfortable and clean. We always take advantage of the free breakfast at Nora's the attached to hotel and very convenient. This has become our go to place in Emporia.

« Small but well maintained »

/this is an old building right off I-35. The rooms are small but ours was very clean and well cared for. The heating system was not loud or drafty. We could park our car right outside our room so we didn't feel we had to unload it all at night. The pool and spa were very handy, and very clean. The attached restaurant is not fancy, but the food was good and the wait staff was great. We could order off the full menu for our free breakfast. Don't let the age of the building keep you away. It is a great value, very affordable. We are glad we found this place.

« Great Stay in Emporia, Kansas »

I found this hotel/motel to be clean and well managed. Emporia is a small town but the stay was better that the hotel in Las Vegas. I will recommend this motel to anyone that is staying in the area. The restaurant has simple good breakfast and better than any other motel that offers free breakfast.

« Nice hotel, great service »

I was here in town for a business meeting and this was my first time staying at this hotel. Good lication. The hotel is conveniently located off the I-35. Great staff and service. Was able to relax for a few hours and enjoyed the pool and the spa. The free breakfast in the mornjng was amazing - I was able to choose from the menu and was served at my table. I'll stay here again the next time I'm back kn town.

« very comfortable night stay »

we were travelling to kansas city and wanted a nice place to crash enroute. this Best Western hotel was the perfect choice we made. we arrived late at night and the check in guy ensured to quickly get us the room and helped us move our luggage to the room. this was very kind of him as i had 3 kids sleeping to carry with me to the room. the free breakfast for my entire family of 5 was great. we could order anything from the menu which you dont get in hotels these days. Highly recommended

« Excellent Place to stay »

I use this hotel every time I am in Emporia. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to my requests. The security of the area is appreciated. WI-FI is easy to connect to. Desk clerks are friendly and helpful when needed information about the area.

    « A dod-friendly motel near I 35i n Emporia, Kansas »

There are not a lot of dog-friendly motel choices in Emporia, Kansas. The Best Western Hospitality House is just off I 35 - on Highway 50. It is an older, single story motel. Our room was small, but it had a microwave, a Flat-screen TV with DirecTV satellite, a refrigerator, and free WiFi. The water was hot and the pressure was high - so great showers! The bed was comfortable and the heating/cooling system worked OK. There are only a few "strips" of grass to walk a dog on by the motel parking lot - but larger areas are available in a short distance walk. The room was clean. A high point is the free breakfast in the adjoining restaurant ... a real breakfast ! The office staff was friendly and helpful - and there is an indoor pool. It's a good place for a night's sleep for you and your dog.

    « Visiting Family »

I was in Emporia to visit my family and this is the first time at the Best Western. The room was clean and the price was right. The only disappointment was I wanted to swim (I picked a motel with indoor pool specifically for this) but there was a party going on with about 15 six year olds. I didn't mind that they were in the pool but the spa also. I wish I could have at least used to spa.

    « Good Value »

I stayed at the Emporia, KS Best Western, which was hosting an ACBL Bridge tournament. The staff was competent and friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the free breakfast was served in the restaurant by a waitress. Over all, this was one of the best values I have ever experienced at a hotel.

    « over nite stay »

The room was very well clean and nice the front desk clerk was very nice and respectful i stay there when in san Antonio tx and I will tell all of my friend's about it and all of my coworkers and all that i come across

« Old Motel Room. Good Hot Breakfast from Nona's. »

We ended up with room 430 separate from the main building. The room was small with old furnishing, shower/tub had black mold around grout. The main building had a indoor pool which looked nice. The biggest plus is the complimentary hot breakfast from Nona's which is connected to the motel. There were a number of choices from the menu and it was very good.

    « Great Stay »

I have stayed here 2 times great room, great service, great breakfast, had a Jacuzzi room both times love the room lay out, very nice and private. the ladies at the front desk are wonderful and they go out of above and beyond to make sure yoru stay is wonderful

« Service above and beyond »

Clean modern rooms. Wonderful pool and hot tub. Restaurant breakfast, order off menu. Stay that go above and beyond! We left an item behind, called hotel. They went through our room and found more items we left behind and had everything boxed up waiting at the front desk. Our choice when ever needing a place to stay in Emporia!

    « good stay »

very good stay - enjoyed the pool and the breakfast is a good addition - bed was comfortable - tv and internet was very good - liked the Direct tv available. Staff was helpful. has a meeting area that would be good for families or business

« I always Stay at this Hotel.... Very NICE »

I always stay at this hotel when ever I'm in town for Business. The staff know me by my first name now & understand what I want and need in my room. The entire staff is very nice and professional. They go above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The free breakfast at Nona's is excellent. The hotel is going through renovations and they are really making this hotel more and more comfortable. I've already referred my friends and coworkers to stay at this one as they understand how to treat their guest special. Keep up the great work... Highly recommended.

    « Northern Wisconsin Gem »

Very nice motel considering it's age. second time we've stayed in this motel. It was very clean and had recently been painted. Excellent breakfast. The staff behind the desk was courteous and business like. We'll stay again.

    « Repeat Visit »

My husband and I travel through Emporia once or twice a year and have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions. It's not fancy, but it's a good price, a clean room, accomodating staff, a complimentary breakfast in their cafe. The bed is double sheeted (I like!) and the remote is (supposedly) sanitized and put in a bag. We even got a little complimentary goodie bag this year in our room - a bag of chips, a bag of cookies and a bottle of water. Nice touch! We'll return.

« Good Value For The Money »

This is an Older Best Western on Hiway 50 in the older part of town, but the hotel has been remodeled and every amenity was clean and in good shape. We've stayed there twice before and the staff and facilities have been very good. You could find a newer, a little nicer hotel elsewhere, but you'd spend twice the money.

« What You See Isn't That Bad »

We had Tripadvisor to tell us what we could expect and so we weren't expecting a brand new property with plush king beds, his and her robes, mints and flowers on our pillows and a big swimming pool. What we did get was a good night's sleep in a remodeled room in a yesterday's motel. Bed was good. Room was clean, Access to Room 413 was old style park right by the door of the room and walk in, clerk was professional and although there were a couple of problems not yet solved by the remodel (water control on shower, cracked sink) such problems didn't leave us with negative feelings and the price is right. Breakfast is a plus in that you can have all sorts of good stuff like bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc. Price gets even "righter" when you realize the breakfast is "real."

« AWESOME hotel and friendly staff »

We ended up here because the hotel we had reservations at pool was closed which was our whole reason for staying in a hotel. They were super accommodating in the midst of a bad situation. We were given a pool side room. The pool was a little chilly, but it was 28 degrees outside too, hot tub was AWESOME) Rooms were huge and super clean. We were given food vouchers for our whole family (family of 5) for breakfast at their restaurant next door. We were given options of their combo breakfasts, omelettes, pancakes or biscuits and gravy. It was also excellent service and the food was outstanding. I have already recommended this place to friends and family and we will definitely stay here the next time we are in town.

« Absolutely love the breakfast »

We have stayed at this hotel many times and the rooms are nice and the staff has always been courteous and helpful. The restaurant breakfast is so much better than any of the other hotel buffets. Keep the restaurant, clean rooms and "your staff" and we'll keep coming back!

« Clean comfortable room, below average breakfasr »

We stopped here on New Year's eve on our way home, looking for a clean dog-friendly room. Best western hospitality house fit the bill. The first room we were assigned had a plugged up bathroom sink, but they were quick to offer us another room. The rooms are plain, but spacious and clean. The restaurant breakfast was not that nice, below average. Coffee was extremely weak, the sausage patties lukewarm, and the biscuits tough and not fresh tasting (probably from being reheated in the microwave). No fresh fruit even though the menu said so. The waitress was nice and apologized for the bad coffee, but she didn't throw out the pot. Other tables also complained about the coffee. By the time we were done and ready to leave, she came around with a better pot of coffee. Similarly weak coffee in the lobby. Make better coffee!

    « Reconsider »

Personnel at this location were GREAT! Issues with my stay: first room (in separate building) had toilet with slow leak, causing it to refill every so often - concerned noise would wake me. Plus, didn't feel safe (since motel style). Very nice male clerk helped me get moved to 2nd room in main building. 2nd room was next to pool. 4 male guests were jumping into pool, causing water to splash on my room door. Finally called front desk at 10:10 pm, asking if pool closed at 10pm. Clerk offered to tell those at pool, pool closed. Meanwhile, killed a cockroach in my room, which I forgot to tell clerk upon check out (same nice lady as check-in). I truly don't recall if I was offered EZ check out. I didn't think any would actually use the pool during the week, so didn't ask to move 2nd time. I had to get up at 4am, to work from room. So, it was rather a short sleep. It was nice that a breakfast was offered, but ended up not having time to enjoy it, as I had to leave for local meeting & stop at McDonald's on the way. Suggestions: have facility sprayed for pests regularly! Have clerk check pool hourly to verify how being used (splashing on doors of neighboring rooms!). Also have clerk check pool 15 min before closing time & remind any users of pool closing time. Lastly, consider closing pool earlier, 9pm would be my suggestion.. Not sure how to rate, based on bug issue, as the room itself was clean

    « Excellent Service »

I had gone to emporia for visiting EMPORIA University for my son. We stayed at this Best Western and our stay was very comfortable. We enjoyed the free full breakfast at the restaurant. Best part was that you can choose from the menu whatever you like and it's completely free with your stay at this hotel. Loved it...

    « Helpful staff »

Pleasant environment. The staff were very helpful. All around a good experience, the rooms were clean and well kept. the locale was nice as well. would recommend this motel. close to good dinning places.

    « Thanksgiving travel »

We stopped for 1 night on our way to visit family. The hotel was clean, allowed pets, was conveniently located and included breakfast. It was exactly what we needed when we looked for a place to stop at 1am.

« Diamond in the ruff »

It would seem like a dated motel and it is ..BUT it is well maintained, clean and everything worked. The included breakfast is cooked at the attached restaurant. The indoor pool and hot tub is clean and well maintained and in an interior atrium motif. Not many nearby restaurants and close to the freeway exit.

    « clean and comfortable »

I stay at here when I have class in Emporia. The staff is friendly and helpful and the room is super clean. I get a hot freshly prepared breakfast from the lovely staff at the restaurant. Good value for money!

    « A very nice hotel »

I was extremely happy with everything. The large lobby, GREAT indoor pool area, the restaurant, staff and room all 100 percent. This is what other smaller hotels should copy. Thank you to ALL involved!

    « Clean but noisy »

Room was clean and bed was comfortable, however we stayed on a Saturday night and a very large party was going on. The music stopped at midnight so we could now get to sleep. Wall are not very sound proof. The room it self was clean with no complaints. Don't know if I would stay again.

    « Nice, Clean Hotel »

I stayed here on a Sunday night and was shocked by the fact the parking lot was nearly full. Turns out there was a Business Conference & hotel looked sold out for a Sunday. In spite, so I was very well taken care of by the staff. The whole area seemed pretty quiet though and the hotel was very nice and clean. My room was great and the common areas were very nicely appointed and clean. Really couldn't beat it at all. I'd be very happy to stay there again if I'm in Emporia next !

    « Business Stay - very comfortable »

Very clean. Love the Best Western hotels! Front guest staff member David the best. Warm greeting wonderful personality! He placed me in the poolside room which is right in front of the pool & the spa. Enjoyed the hot tub & my stay. Would definitely recommend.

« Great Staff and Breakfast with the stay »

I travel a lot and stay at Days Inn but this time Days Inn was sold out and I happened to stay at this hotel for 1 night last week. I was pleasantly surprised at the great attitude of the staff at this Best western. Very Professional. I loved the free breakfast at the adjoining restaurant - Nona. Absolutely worth every penny I spent.

« Looking forward to our next trip through Emporia »

One of the best, cleanest, and friendliest hotels I have ever stayed at and I have traveled through out the western US and Europe!! We travel from Wisconsin in the summer to Texas in the winter. We have stayed in some places that we thought were going to be good until we checked in and found the rooms dirty, uncomfortable and not a place we would visit again. This establishment was CLEAN, friendly, pet friendly, and welcoming!

    « Nice and Clean »

Nice hotel, clean and great for the price. Other hotels in the area can be quite expensive for the same size room and amenities. My room was very quiet and provided a restful place. I would stay there again.

    « Clean and Quiet »

We stayed here one night after spending a week in a cabin in northern Minnesota without any indoor plumbing. This older Best Western seemed like the height of luxury after that! Anyway, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a breakfast pass to the restaurant that was attached to the hotel. Hotel guests were allowed to choose from one section of the menu that included eggs, pancakes, etc. A beverage was included with each meal. This was much more than the typical continental breakfasts that we had eaten at various hotels along our route. The restaurant was unusually busy and meagerly staffed the morning we were there, but the one waitress who was there did a superb job of managing the large number of patrons.

« No Ambiance But Okay For One Night »

We were just here for one night before going to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve the following day. The motel is not new but it is clean enough. Everything worked and the bed was comfortable. I didn't really like the restaurant - it was freezing in there, the coffee was bad, and the free breakfast food items were only okay.

« It was okay, the room was small and in a bad spot. »

I made the reservation on line and got sucked into paying in advance to get the free breakfast. When we arrived a man was registering and got the free breakfast on the spot. Kind of felt had. The place was clean, but small, like in compact. The toilet took an learned effort to flush. We were able to do so. For some reason the desk clerk put us on an end of the building that had a driveway next to it. There was very little parking and getting in front of your own room was a trick. That may not seem like much to some people but we have stuff that we would like to have there in the morning and wanted to keep an eye on it. The breakfast that came with it was in their own restaurant called, Nona's. I tried to get it up on trip advisor but if you do not have one of their approved forget it. The service was pretty good and the server very friendly. I was after some information and she pointed me out to some other customers who were in the know also very friendly and helpful. The people I met in Emporia although few were very nice. The food in the restaurant was okay for the most part but the has browns were sad, very sad and the portions were small. On the second day there were no has browns which I require with eggs and bacon so I had a side order. There was about 1/3 of a cup of very oily for $2.00. The price was reasonable and after where we had stayed the night before I was very happy. I would stay there again but would not accept the room in the same place or order any side of hash browns. I would also have a snack to eat on my way back to the room. The ironic thing about the menu was there was a column for the free breakfast and the one thing that did look like it would fill you up in that column was not a free with room item, then why was it in that column?

« Relay For Life of Lyon County »

This hotel was very accomdating for me. I was staffing the Lyon County Relay For Life Event. This hotel has a meeting room available for us and was close to the event venue. Since I was working from home, it was very nice to be able to set of "office" in my room. A printer was in the lobby for my use. The staff was friendly and always available. I stay here when I am in the area and recommend it to anyone that might need lodging as well.

« Emporia seems to be a nice town. We only stayed one night, as we were passing through. »

The outside of the hotel is very quaint. Red brick with pained windows. The room was clean and quiet. When we arrived in our room, there was a bottle of water, a small bag of Cheetos and some oreo cookies waiting for us Very nice gesture. The pool area was decent. Breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was complimentary. We were able to order off the breakfast menu and it was very good food. The staff was friendly and helpful. We received a good night's sleep. This was probably the best value we ever had.

    « Good Nights Sleep »

My family and I arrived late and the front desk was most helpful. We will be staying here the next time we come to Emporia. The breakfast was really tasty. The last night we were there I sat out in the lobby and drank coffee. The night shift guy was willing to show me the accommodations for a location for our state meeting or Christmas party. He was quite helpful.
