« Fine. Food not good. »

Clean. Not as horribly flowery as some best westerns but still very unstylish and old womanish. Room was small but comfortable. Staff were all very polite and helpful. Views from restaurant are nice. Food in restaurant very odd, cooked well but the ideas behind flavours are terrible. I had the wild bore burger, not horrible, but bizarre and not in a good way. Breakfast was disappointing. Pretty basic. Car parking is good. Overall is fine, but not a huge amount else.

    « Not Bad »

Decent enough hotel with helpful staff. Rooms a bit basic and looked kind of recently refurbished . Bed ok. Breakfast average to to fair with a large selection although I have never seen my favourite haggis in a black pudding shape. and it was dry and not tasty. Very plus point its in quite location and not much noise except for saturdays as they had a function on and lots of screaming kids running around the building not checked by staff. I was lucky enough to have a room away from the function area otherwise it would have been problem for me. Management should not allow the kids to roam unchecked. Overall pleased with the stay

    « Pleasant »

Stayed here on business midweek. Scottish victorian baronial front with an extensive modern back. The room was a single - very compact. The shower room was actually bigger than the main room slightly odd arrangement bit like a students room. However it was bright clean and warm and the bed was very comfortable after a long day. The hotel stops serving food very early so i had to settle for a glass of wine and some nuts. It is situated on the Perth road and there didn't seem much around it. It was a very dark wet night and I didn't feel like going out again. It might be a different experience if there was a function on. Now that I know where it is and not how the tom tom thinks it should be found I would probably stay there again as it has good free parking.

« Could not Fault it! »

Booked a room only for one night as attending function at the hotel. It was a single room and was pleased and surprised that the bed was a small double. Room was very clean, bathroom adequate and lots of towels. All the things you'd expect - tea/coffee, TV, ironing board etc. Prices varied between sites on internet and when I phoned to book, the price had gone up - but they honoured the price I had just seen. If I'm in Dundee again will definitely be back!

    « Hospital visit »

We stayed here last week overnight as had early hospital appointment. Room was fine, staff were very friendly and meal was really nice. Would stay again if had to go to Dundee shopping or anything. Breakfast had a good enough selection.

    « Unremarkable »

I speak as one who has been visiting the Invercarse for very many years indeed- about 43 to be precise stretching back to my under age days but on this recent lunch visit one thought struck me - it's tired. I can't recall the last make over but what I can say is it's long overdue in the bar restaurant area. It's dull, dark and dated. But what was the food like? The consensus view of our party of 3 was that it represented no better than average pub grub - over the years, I've enjoyed better fare. A decent sausage and red onion sauce with slightly dried up mash. But also for a nation of chip lovers why do hotels, pubs etc insist on dishing up the most awful tasteless and frozen morsels? And just to cap it all, two further observations - first the service was pretty tardy (surprising given the number of staff on duty) and next why o why is there a positively archaic practice of only having one Credit card terminal at the hotel reception? Average with a capital A.

    « Conference Weekend »

Three colleagues and myself visited Dundee for an conference. We were very pleased with the costumer service and the breakfast. Yummy sausage and other Scottish delights. The room were small but comfortable however updated decor would make the experience a bit better.

    « Fine for a 1 night stay »

Compact room but clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities, fine for a 1 night stay, I wouldn't consider it for a longer stay. Dinner was pleasant. Staff were friendly. Quite a few stairs to our room and no lift or offer of help so if carrying your luggage is an issue ask for a ground floor room. We were informed on arrival that breakfast would cost more if we didn't book it then making us feel a bit hassled (we chose not to have breakfast). Lots of on site parking available. Quiet area.

    « very helpful receptionist »

Having arrived on a Sunday evening. The wife found she had left her bag behind. Clothes were not a problem but the medication was a big problem. The lady on reception could not do enough to help us get a chemist and speaking to the NHS help desk to sort the problem. With a dash across to Perth we arrived at Asda with 10 to go to closing. An expensive lesson learnt. Back at the hotel the receptionist had upgraded our room due to my loyalty card. The room was pleasant and quiet. Breakfast was the usual fare. After the drama the night before we left well rested. Thanks for the help

    « Good hotel »

Stayed here for one night working near the airport, just over a mile away. Check in is quick and efficient, rooms comfortable with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of parking available to side and rear of hotel. Food good on an evening in restaurant, breakfast next day very good with superb views over the Tay. Recommended!

    « Good »

Arrived in the pouring rain so the trek down from the car park to reception was not so good, but check in was quick and easy which was very good. Bedroom small but nice and well equipped. I like a bathroom with a large shower instead of something over the bath and this did not disappoint! Hotel busy with a wedding but what was good is that the wedding didn't impede the enjoyment of the hotel for other guests, as there was space and decent service for everyone. The bedroom was very hot at night with no heat on, but that's quite common. Bed was very comfortable. Down at breakfast, the quality of the hot buffet was better than in many hotels with decent scrambled eggs and flavoursome sausage; haggis and black pudding. A definite plus tho whilst I would have liked the food to be hotter, my companion felt it was fine. Really good thick sliced bread to make your own toast and definitely better than most hotels. My only complaint is the irritating tea and coffee pots serve just one cup and you have to ask staff if you want another!

« As Good as Always »

I have stayed here a couple of times a year for 10 yrs and have never been disappointed. The place is spotless. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent. Eggs cooked to order. Plenty of variety. Evening meal is more than adequate. Rooms well appointed and free Wifi. I look forward to staying there again.

    « Comfy and traditional »

Two nights here for a work related event. Room clean and everything I needed, including an iron. Restaurant reasonable with a set menu. Breakfast also varied and good value. Views across Tay spectacular and as a single woman traveller I felt safe and looked after throughout.

    « Grand! ?? »

Stayed at Invercarse for 2 nights visiting Dundee. Have known the Invercarse for almost 30 years since childhood, so perhaps my review is slightly biased...! Good hotel, staff friendly and helpful with a relaxed yet professional approach. Rooms fine, comfy enough and everything I needed there eg ironing facilities and a kettle and refreshment tray. Nice big airy bathroom with big bath. They accommodated all my requests. Real plus is a lovely bar with great view from big windows over nice lawn and river Tay. Ample parking - free parking! I hate paying to park in hotels...seems an added inescapable cost for guests. Not a problem here. One small point. I wanted to browse the restaurant menu from my room one evening and was told in the room guide that I could log on to the hotel website and do so. Nope. No matter where I looked I couldn't see it! Maybe look into this guys? There is also no (certainly not that I know of) lift in the hotel but then it is an old style building and I think there's only 2 floors... A good choice; good service. Staff were particularly flexible about an issue I had with payment regarding a lost-in-post replacement card I was waiting on. Thumbs up here guys. Thanks. Time has not changed the Invercarse. Here's hoping it never will.

« Amazing staff amazing day just amazing »

I had my wedding ceremony and function in the beautiful ballroom. The views are stunning the staff are amazing and couldn't have done anymore to help and make my day the most amazing ever. My youngest has allergies and nothing was too much trouble, staff are so professional and helpful and kind. Sean was fabulous Maureen was amazing and I feel so lucky to have been helped by such an amazing team. Service was seamless and I couldn't fault a thing. Thanks so much all the team at the invercarse ??

    « Wedding Venue »

We had our wedding here on Sunday (09/10/16), it was an amazing day. We cannot thank the staff enough and would highly recommend as a venue. The views are stunning, food was fantastic, the service and organisation were amazing; staff were so friendly and attentive throughout the day, they made our day even more enjoyable. 10/10! Special thanks to Sean, Christa, Derek (master of ceremonies) and Jimmy (head of bar) who made us feel very special and catered to our every needs. Mr and Mrs Comb.

    « Relaxing »

Lovely place to stay and eat. Rooms very comfortable. Food is served in an excellent restaurant at reasonable prices. Bar area is relaxing and comfortable with a good offering of drinks. The staff are all friendly and have a sense of humour if you engage with them. The hotel is well positioned within Dundee and offers plenty of parking.

« Best Western Hotels are a great standard that I like »

Best Western does provide a good standard and when the price is right it is always somewhere I would stay. This place is no different. Good sized room. Very clean. Great breakfast. Wifi connection a little slow.

    « Limited Menu »

Nice place with great views in a quite traditional residential setting, lots of amenities close by and only a short walk to town. The friendly staff were efficient and welcoming , clean room with a comfy bed, only limited TV stations but a free Wi Fi, that was fast . The menu options were very limited from the Al La Carte menu, so it made me choose not to eat in the hotel which was a pity

« Never tire of returning to this hotel....stunning views of the River Tay!! »

Wonderful hotel, staff and location! We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Dundee......the staff are always so friendly and nothing too much trouble. The rooms are lovely and clean. The food in the restaurant is outstanding! Not to forget the beautiful view of the River Tay from the Restaurant!! Such a warm and friendly hotel. ....well worth a visit.

    « Felt like 4 star hotel. »

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. First impressions as you drive up are very good. Nice, well kept gardens, quiet setting and a great view over the Firth of Tay. Bus stop on the street outside the gates which was good as we left the car and took the bus for the duration of our stay. Reception, lounge bar and restaurant were 'rustic' and had a nice relaxing and 'feel good' factor. Our room was very nice too. Large with a massive bed - we paid extra for a deluxe double. The room felt quite warm during the night and although there was a fan, I would have liked to been able to open the windows further than the safety catch allowed. Ensuite was large too. Nice strong shower and I did notice that the mirror didn't steam up like most. We ate in the dining room both nights and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was very good too, with plenty of choice. Staff were efficient and friendly. We will go back, but next time, will book direct with the hotel as noticed we would have saved at least £25 per night had we not booked through a very well known internet booking agent?

« Sequoia Trees, a drink, and Sleep »

Arrived by taxi from Dundee train station. Lovely setting amoung the trees with a view of the water. Stayed one night before cruise ship departure. Room basic Best Western with a bit of age. Free Wifi, paid full Irish Breakfast, lovely sunny breakfast room with fine service. Enjoyed a few beers unpon arrival outside, away from the pub and dining room, as weather was terrific and small tables in the tree areas very pleasant. Obviously they do a lot of business for weddings and conferences. Hotel is quite a bit out of the way of Dundee downtown. Taxi mandatory.

    « It was ok »

We stayed here for a weekend. Food was very tasty, especially the wild boar burger. Staff were great. It was just too noisy. We were in room 219 and it was right next to the car park and one way system plus there was a wedding on the first night and the guests would come out and smoke, laugh and shout and between 12-1am the guests the came outside for there taxis and were even more louder. Second night was peaceful tho. Not sure if in would stay here again.

« A real pleasure to stay here »

I only stayed one night at Invercarse Hotel for bed and breakfast, the staff were very helpful and friendly regardless of the question or request. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and it was of the highest standard. They also cater for wheat and dairy free without any difficulty and I got the feeling this is very frequently requested and was not an issue. The room was comfortable and I can only rate it very highly and will be using it again when I come back to Dundee, many thanks.

« We must have been served by the 'B' team! »

We booked for an evening meal for four on Monday which was a Bank holiday in England but we understand not in Scotland but the staff did not seem to know that! We definitely got the impression that the more efficient staff members (that we assume they must have) were all away. Service was slow and poor and they kept getting the orders wrong or muddled and they did not realise not enough orders had been listed for the four people on our table. The food was just about up to standard but very low on vegetables! The men were served first before the women, and when they failed to notice that they should have brought two meals of one kind they gave the one to the man, leaving a woman waiting for ages.(with everyone else of course!) It was a nice dining room with splendid views over Tay but food and service were disappointing. Over 50 years ago when two of us were students at the university there, this place was THE place to be taken to for a treat. In fact, one of us went there on a first date with the person they later married. Best Western can surely do better or lose its 'Best' qualification. Incidentally, they did make an adjustment to our bill for the poor service we complained about.

« Great value with lovely view »

Stayed here to attend family party. Rate was very reasonable and included breakfast. The room was decent size and clean. Free wifi was very welcome. Breakfast buffet was very good with decent selection and topped up frequently. Staff were friendly and all said hello. Party was great and the buffet served fantastic. Location is good in quiet location with lovely view across the water too.

We arrived here on a coach party of 44 on Saturday after a disastrous journey with broken down bus. However, the staff were very friendly and sympathetic. When our meals were being served the service was second to none. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Would definitely return for a longer period, as unfortunately we only had a few hours there.

    « Good as a base »

Room good size, bath with overhead shower and clean. Food good but could do with more variety on the menu especially the set menu. Cups, glasses and cutlery not clean (possibly new dishwasher required). Most of the staff friendly and helpful. This hotel was ok for a base we stayed 3 days and we wouldn't want to stay longer in it.

    « Very enjoyable »

Hotel very good . Staff friendly and helpful. Setting lovely. Lovely bar and restaurant area. Only negative is that breakfast was not included in price and £9 per person is too much to charge . If it had been £5 then we would have certainly stayed.

    « Really Good »

Checked in here as my usual choice in Dundee was not available. Good room, lovely bed and good food! Staff were friendly and great parking. View from the dining room looking over the river was splendid! I would recommend for both business and leisure use.

    « Wedding »

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel has a stunning view over the Tay, which is a delight to look at over your meals. The wedding team were excellent. Very efficient and professional. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed!

« So very close to being perfect »

Stayed just one night on business..... Car park is spacious, the check in was fast and efficient. Yes the room didn't have air conditioning, but it does have a fan to keep it cool, and it was clean and roomy. Having booked into the restaurant I was looking forward to the most important aspect for me... As you can see, the view from just outside the restaurant was amazing, and it is glass fronted so you can enjoy it in abundance. The starter of Salmon fish cake on pea foam, topped with sea bass was top class, I really thought I'd found a little gem I could return to time on time. Unfortunately my main, Rib eye steak, which I tend to order in new restaurants to judge a level playing field, was awful. It was supposed to be 28 day matured but looked and tasted more like 28 day old road kill. How on earth can the starter have so much taste and presentation, and the steak appear like no one tasted or even looked at it before service. Nearly, very nearly rose to the top of my Dundee hotels.

    « Good base »

Everything you would hope for from a hotel of this size and reputation. An efficient check in, comfortable room with good wifi and nice hot shower. The hotel bar is pleasant. Very handy for getting away from Dundee but it is a taxi ride to get back into the city centre

« The Redwood Restaurant at Invercarse Hotel »

Earlier in the day we called in and asked to see the dinner menu for that evening, found it very much to our liking, and made a reservation. Arriving several minutes earlier than our booking time, so that we could enjoy pre-dinner drinks in a comfortable and pleasant environment, our order for two large gins with tonic was taken by a manager. When these were poured she beckoned us to the bar to collect them and take them to our nearby table, thus denying herself and/or her staff the tip that we give as a matter of custom, when served at table. This experience prompted us to joke between ourselves that we may have to collect our food from the kitchen, but had we had any such fears they would have been entirely without foundation, for our three waitresses provided friendly and efficient service throughout our meal. From a menu offering an excellent selection of dishes, we both chose the Cullen Skink soup for starters, arguably the best we had ever tasted and so good that we asked that the chef be told how much we enjoyed it. The small accompanying dish of crème fraiche was a nice touch, and all that it would have taken to enhance our overall enjoyment by a fraction, was for the dinner roll to be served warm. A main course of crisply skinned sea bass on a bed of noodles and vegetables was voted an outright winner, indeed so much so that a message was sent to the chef asking how the delicious vegetables had been cooked! But our other main course of thinly sliced minute steak was a great disappointment, being tough, lacking flavour and almost inedible. Most of the generous portion remained on the plate untouched and it would have been nice had we been offered complimentary coffee by way of atonement, but perhaps it would have been necessary to make a fuss for this to happen, rather than leave it to the discretion of the establishment. Three scoops of very good ice cream with each individually flavoured scoop having its own little disc of mouth-wateringly good shortbread was nicely presented, and was the choice we both made from an impressive list of desserts, following which we paid our bill, acknowledged appropriately the excellent service provided by our three waitresses and left.

« car keys, wallet and mobile phones stole from room »

booked in for 4 nights for work purposes, entered the suite late at night closed bedroom window as wide open, lounge window appeared closed. During the night somebody dragged a bin across the car park to stand on and climbed in to my lounge area. He stole my company 4x4 vehicle car keys 2 x I phones and my wallet. proceeded to reception spoke to the night porter (who spoke to him and ordered him a taxi no questions asked with my car keys visible in his hand) he then left the car park driving my company vehicle. the cctv is not monitored only played back if needed and the hotel security is terrible. how can a grown man open a ground floor window wide enough to climb through ??? no latches or locks ??? no air con in summer so beware if you open your ground floor windows. hotel think its fine they have no issues with security and my company had to foot the bill for my losses and the vehicle which was later crashed. I will never stay at this hotel again !!!!!!

    « Enjoyable break »

I can only reiterate what "Clodhopper" had to say as I too have today returned from my nephew's wedding staying for two nights. Wedding itself was fantastic both food and staff. Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. As a wedding venue grounds were beautiful and view out of ballroom full length window breathtaking. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Rooms were spacious and clean and a comfortable bed. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

    « Overnight Stay »

Great hotel with very helpful staff. Room very comfortable but a little noisy with deliveries first thing in the morning. Had dinner when we arrived and there was an excellent choice and value for money. Breakfast was equally good in the morning. Room was spacious and comfortable. No lift though.

« Good hotel if you have a your own transportation. »

The hotel has above average service, good rooms, and is easy to access from the main roadways. But, iit is a fair distance from any other services and the city center. It was very clean with good service from the very helpful staff. There is a good breakfast.

    « A fantastic Wedding Venue »

I recently attended a friends wedding in the Invercarse and I was very impressed by the views, grounds and the ballroom. The service was impeccable and the wedding meal was served smoothly, efficiently and by friendly staff. The ballroom is a good size with a good dance floor but the highlight is the beautiful full length window giving a breath taking view of the Tay.

« Great hotel, thin walls! »

Lovely hotel both inside and out with very friendly, helpful staff. Upon arrival shortly after 2pm our room wasnt ready but we were quickly switched rooms with no fuss which was great service. The room was clean and a good size for the two of us. Small flat screen TV on wall with all the channels you need. The bed was very comfortable and the room stayed a nice temperature throughout the night. The only downside was the noise from the room above us which kept waking us up all night the walls are very thin. Will definitely be back (might opt for top floor next time though lol)

« Friendly restful hotel with great views »

Invercarse hotel Dundee is well placed for touring to St. Andrews,Aberdeen and Cairngorme National Park.Edinburgh is also within reach. There are a few interesting and varied National Trust properties gardens and estates nearby with reciprocal agreements with National Trust England. There's something for all age groups and a wide variety of interests both outdoors and indoors.

    « 2 night stay »

Booked through for a couple of nights away. The staff on reception were extremely helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The room was very clean and spacious. Ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was delicious. Although the hotel is not in the centre of Dundee it is only a short bus ride away, so no need to drive, eliminating any parking worries. Reception staff very helpful with timetables and best bus to get. Would have no hesitation in staying here on any future trips to Dundee and would recommend to anyone. Hotel is also very close to Dundee airport.

« Excellent location, good breakfasts. »

Booked for 8 family members to stay here for a family occasion locally. Rooms all bright and clean with good bath or shower room. One room unfortunately had a double bed with broken springs - v uncomfortable on one side. Staff said would report to housekeeping but no apology or reduction given, Breakfasts were in the bright dining room with good view of the River Tay. Good selection of hot and cold items, fresh fruit, juices, yogurt etc. pots of coffee and tea supplied. Staff a bit stretched as rather more guests than they expected but pleasant and helpful.

    « A wedding overnight »

Recently stayed here for one night following a family wedding. Overall the staff coped admirably with the usual level of drunkenness and debauchery associated with such a do for over 100 people. Food at the reception was excellent and again highly attentive and well co-ordinated staff meant service was brisk. Room was well appointed but lacked air conditioning and the toilet handle had obviously broken at some point and had been bodged with a spare door handle! Breakfast was definitely a curate's egg - the danish pastries were excellent but the toast was barely browned for example. Overall a good standard and I'd certainly recommend it, let down only but a couple of little things.

« Good hotel and friendly helpful staff »

This hotel is not in the centre of Dundee but has great views of the Tay. The staff go out of their way to help and are all very friendly and approachable. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant serves local produce which is well presented.

« Great hotel with helpful staff »

I chose this hotel for my annual visit as the hotel I used to stay in had hiked their prices for graduation week for the university that I had not realised was on. Invercarse is a 10 minute bus ride from the centre and is well served with buses. It is set in beautiful well -kept grounds and has a huge free car park. They have a large restaurant with views over the river Tay. It is a two storey building but has no lift. My room faced the side car park but was quiet and spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom a good size. The hotel has free wifi and has a terminal in reception for those of us who don't have smart phones or bring tablets. Breakfast was great - lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, croissants, bacon, sausage etc and porridge and scrambled eggs made to order. Free morning paper. Bar snacks available. All reception staff helpful, especially Nadine. Only niggle - I was next to a fire door that knocked three times when it closed which made me think someone was at my door. That wasn't able to be fixed. When I lost Sky news on the tv, someone rebooted the Sky box for me.

    « Back again »

Still no upgrade. The hotel as usual was good breakfast a bit poor on the hot choices. Overall a good venue easily accessible for where I wanted to go. Staff very helpful and pleasant as usual. Will go back again.

« Lovely hotel for leisure trip »

We booked this using Tesco Clubcard vouchers and the process was easy. All staff from initial booking, to checking in to restaurant staff were lovely. Hotel was in a good location, close to the city with plenty of parking. room was nice and spotless. Hotel groungs well maintained and good view of the Tay from the restaurant. Food and drink prices were very reasonable for a hotel of this type. food quality at dinner was excellent

« Best thing about Dundee »

I've stayed here a few times and you always get; - A good sleep - A really nice meal with a view - A great breakfast - Pleasant staff - Clean room at a good price - Free wifi - Easy and free parking It's also far enough away from the 'undesirable' areas of Dundee.

« Far enough from the city centre, but convenient location within 20 min walk to city centre »

This best western hotel is ideal location if you do not want to stay in the city centre but within within walking distance to city centre. it is also convenient to Ninewells and Medical School and Dundee Airport. All within 5 min ride. If you have a car it is ideal, plenty of free car parking and not too far for waking, taxi or bus. It has great bar and restaurant if you want to relax and eat/drink in the hotel. If the weather is okay why not walk for few minutes to the Botanical Gardens and Botanical Gardens Cafe. Great place for functions with its meeting rooms and ball room. Large group dinner or reception is great in this hotel, the best in the area.

« ?Bring your ear plugs if you want to sleep!!!!? »

My stay was completely spoiled by things that you expect from a hotel to cover. Trying to sleep I had to phone reception because of a terrible noise from some hotel machines, I dont know. So I was moved to another room but it wasnt much better, still some background noise in a hotel!!!! the bed was terrible and the toilet was dirty also. I could hear the people from next room at night as they were in my room. So dissapointed everything. Having said that at the check out I was not offered any discount, thank you!!!. I had a terrible stay, completely spoiled. I will not recommend this place and I will not be back.

    « Comfy hotel »

Comfortable beds, good food in restaurant, overall good value for money. The view from the rstaurant was nice, plenty of car parking space. Only down side was our room was on the ground floor looking onto the car park, but wasn't bothered much by noise later in the evening. Would recommend and stay there again.

« A decent hotel, a little out of town »

The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly. It's not outstanding but it's certainly hard to fault. I had a single room which was a touch small but totally fine; the room was pretty warm on a warm day though and there didn't seem to be a way to change that - i.e., no air-con in my room.

    « Retiral dinner »

Private function for retiral dinner staff very attentive. Food very good for the price per head excellent value for money. Would highly recommend nothing was a bother very good atmosphere and all needs catered for from gluten free to nut allergies.

    « Pleasant - but a bit Hap Hazard »

Attending a wedding, at Inchture, we booked a stay with our daughter for one night. We decided to eat in the hotel before going to the Wedding reception. Room looked like it had been cleaned, but not hoovered? Arrived in plenty time for our 6 oclock booking, and had a drink in the bar. (barmaid was very friendly and helpful) we were shown menus, Got shown to our seats and waited quite a while for someone to take a drinks order, My wife ordered a salmon/prawn thing, which she thought was a prawn cocktail type starter. i ordered a fruit starter.. When they arrived, mines was OK cant go wrong with Sorbet and fruit chopped in a bowl, my wife had a strange starter with 3 bits of bread, bit of salmon and a prawn on top ..)with "micro salad".. small bit of "green" dotted about the plate. We both ordered steaks (9.00 supplement each) with "real chips" and my wife opted for a peppercorn sauce. My wife's sauce was extremely runny and the real chips were from a frozen packet. Presentation was poor, but tasty enough. not the best experience.... I had a good nights sleep and hotel room was very quiet. (room 123) breakfast, is a hot and cold buffet style with good variety . although a woman took my wife's plate away while she had a drink of tea mid meal? and when asked for more coffee, the girl asked if we wanted more milk, so she did hear me, but never got any more coffee..

« Good value but let down by the noise »

I stayed 3 nights, 23rd - 25th May, and for the money everything is pretty good, nice clean room, pleasant staff and great breakfast, but on the last night the Ballroom was in use and the noise was simply unacceptable. My room was on the Ballroom side which really didn't help but even with the window shut it was far too loud and too late. This is within the control of the management and needs sorting. Not all your guests are 'at the party' and as the following day was an early start and a 400 mile drive at the end, a good nights sleep is not too much to ask for. When I mentioned this at check out, all I got was "oh, sorry about that, it was a group of student teachers who has graduated!" If you are thinking of staying here, check if there are any functions planned and if so insist on a room on the other side or consider elsewhere.

    « Pleasant stay »

The hotel is currently being refurbished - at least the communal areas - and so is looking slightly battered! The room was in need of the same but was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were delightful and the food good although not outstanding. The location is great with beautiful views from the bar and dining room. I would definitely stay again if in the area!

    « Recent visit »

Clean helpful staff good breakfast Hotel could do with being redecorated but overall a good place to stay near the town and botanical gardens Room was clean and hotel staff very helpful especially the receptionist and night porter nothing was too much bother to them

    « Wedding sleep over »

Absolutely brilliant, stayed over after our son's wedding which was held at the hotel, cannot speak too highly about the hotel and their staff. Room lovely, bed comfortable, breakfast wonderful. What more do I need to say!!

« Traditional Best Western hotel »

We booked a double room for an overnight stay and were pleasantly surprised to find that we'd been given a suite. Great to have the separate sitting room when the weather outside was hot and sunny. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very good value at £8.75 a head for the works. There was plenty of juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals. We also had a choice of 4 types of bread plus pastries. The hot buffet was excellent. A good choice of locally produced dishes plus scrambled eggs, real grilled tomatoes and baked beans.

« Weekend at Invercarse Hotel »

Excellent stay at this hotel. Staff friendly , food very good particularly the breakfast. Nice views , no complaints whatsoever. Bed comfortable and room very clean.Generally a good stay in this hotel in a very nice location. Quiet in the hotel at night.

    « Hotel stay »

Stayed for the weekend of May Bank Holiday as part of 57 from Elgin Rotary Club. From the Check in, to the overall Service, the food, and the rooms, everything was simply fantastic. Top class service and would recommend anyone to stay here. Thank you for a 1st class weekend stay.

    « Nice hotel »

Stayed here for a night last minute on our way home. The hotel was really easy to find with the sat nav and plenty big parking spaces. The lady that checked us in and out was lovely and so was the staff in the bar/restaurant. The room was really nice, bathroom quite plain but really big! Bed was really comfy! Only thing that was disappointing was the food. It wasn't the best and was quite expensive for what you got. Would stay here again!

« People who actually care »

Staying in single room could quiet easly fit dubble bed in ,staff outstanding ,food good and very clean the hotel in quiet bit of town but not much around need to taxi into town if your looking for night life

    « Distinctly average »

Stayed for 2 nights. The room was fine with a comfortable bed and a functioning bathroom. A colleague however was less fortunate and described being shoehorned into a broom cupboard. My goats cheese risotto was am amorphous mound of fatty homogenous gloop which I abandoned after 3 mouthfuls. Breakfast too was disappointing and I have never seen such tiny pots of tea and coffee. The view from the restaurant was pleasant though On checking out I had a dispute over whether I had paid already for B&B or room only, requiring me to pull up the details on my laptop to confirm the former. Embarrassing with other people also waiting to check out. I doubt I'll return.

« Comfortable stay in a spacious and clean hotel »

Daily supply of clean towels. Daily attendance to en-suite and supply of sachets (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar) and UHT milk. Wi-Fi included. Well-situated with access to Dundee Technology Park, Ninewells Teaching Hospital and Dundee University. Good long walk into Dundee City. Bus stop within minutes with regular and punctual buses at reasonable prices. To improve would be having a light switch new the bed to switch off the main light instead of going to the door to do this. Would go again

    « Wedding »

We recently had our wedding reception at the Invercarse. The service received throughout was professional and helpful from the start. Our experience was amazing on the day & the staff played a huge part in that. Our room was set up exactly as imagined/explained and the food was delish (everyone wanted to know how to make the potato cakes)! Our stay was comfortable and breakfast was also very plentiful. We would definitely recommend the Invercarse for a wedding, or function.

    « Comfortable and Friendly »

Very nice place to stay. Rooms are of a good size and clean. Good beds and the ensuite is of a decent size. In some places I find the bathroom is smaller than the wardrobe. Staff are friendly. Great location. I'd stay here again.

    « Overnight stay »

We stayed for one night to save us haveing an early start the following morning as we were sailing from Dundee. It was a very comfortable stay, spotlessly clean and the staff couldn't be nicer. We were so pleased we stayed for another night when we returned from our cruise. Anytime we were in Dundee and needed a hotel we would definately book this one.

    « Visited for a wedding »

We attended a wedding here (which was lovely - nice venue and food was really good). Room was fine, nothing fancy but we only needed a bed for the night. Comfortable bed and reasonable price. Breakfast was pretty good (potato scones should be fried not steamed though!!).

« Great spacious hotel and very close to Ninewells Hospital. »

Booked last minute for the Invercarse mainly on the basis it was the closest hotel to Ninewells. The #5 bus goes from right outside the hotel throughout the day and takes approx 5/6 minutes. You can walk but it's a steep hill on the way there. The hotel was lovely and all the staff were very friendly. I was travelling alone and felt very safe. My room was great, spacious, clean, a very comfy bed and a great place to relax in between visits. I needed to add an extra night onto my stay and reception added it no problem at the same rate. The wifi was brilliant, never cut out and was free - much appreciated. The hotel's easy to get to from Dundee city centre, regular buses along the Perth road. Recommended and if I'm staying in Dundee again I would definitely stay at the Invercarse.

« Attended a wedding just down the road »

Stayed for one night in one of the executive doubles. Fantastic room, great spaced bathroom with full wet floor, disabled supports for the toilet and full patio door access to the car park for disabled access direct to the room with a disabled parking bay right outside. Great bar with 24 hour access to the bar for guest residents which is great at a wedding. Fantastic food and breakfast and very helpful and welcoming staff. Great prices and great hotel. If we're ever back in Dundee this will be where we stay. Botanical gardens across the road and 10 minute walk to the airport. 5 stars.

« Rugby charity dinner - Great night, great food, great service »

Guest at a rugby charity dinner which not only saw great entertainment but food & service of a high standard. Faultless, across a very busy room. Well done & thanks to all at the hotel that supported the event. I'll not be alone in being impressed.

« Invercarse one night stay. »

Got an early booking great value BB deal. Room could do with a freshen up as both it and the bathroom are a little dated but perfectly acceptable. Clean and comfortable bed, good breakfast and well situated for travel into Dundee or to explore Tayside. Airport is 10 mins away. Would we go back, yes.

    « Overnight stay »

Staying here tonight 23/03/2016 so far so good, quick check in,good parking, comfortable warm room, dinner £15 for two course meal before 7.30pm,food not bad at all, dining room a bit chilly though so wear a sweater, staff keen to get rid of diners at around 8.30 pm take it they want to set up for breakfast, good location, good value for money. Would recommend this, for a Best Western this is an ok choice.

    « Mothers Day Meal »

Have been to this hotel on many occasions and have always enjoyed going. After having been there again for Mother's Day this year and having a few issues with the service I sent the following email to them 12days ago. Extremely disappointed that nobody has even bothered to reply... My sister and I booked a table for Mother's Day for High Tea for 5 people on Sunday and received email confirmation (see attached) advising that the table had been booked in the ballroom for 5pm. On arrival however, I was unable to see our name listed on the table planner. We spoke to a staff member who said that the table might have been booked in the restaurant instead and went to check. He came back and advised that there was nothing booked for us, however there was a 'spare table' We were then seated at the back table nearest to the bar. There was one other table beside us but all other tables were at the other end of the ballroom. We honestly felt like an afterthought being so far away from everyone else! Also because of where we were seated, every time the door to the ballroom was opened the draft came right to our table and it was absolutely freezing. Our orders were taken and we were served our food promptly but given the toast at the same time as our main course. We also asked for tea for 3 and this was served in a really small teapot. We were given a refill when we asked no problem whatsoever, but my mum was sitting with half a cup of tea until this arrived. Lastly, we were asked if we needed any condiments and we asked for vinegar. My mum used this and put it down on the table and it was removed before anyone else had the chance to use it! I would never normally complain as have been to the Invercarse on many occasions, including my sister's wedding and mother's day last year, the service has always been excellent. However, on this occasion, I felt really disappointed and actually felt a bit embarrassed as although my mum kept assuring us everything was fine, the rest of us were of the same opinion that the usual high standards had definitely slipped on that evening.

« Great location, friendly staff and fantastic value »

We went over to Dundee to visit the city and go walking and the Invercarse was a good location to do everything from. Close to the City, with views over the river Tay it was a great place to stay and only a short distance from a wide range of walks at Broughty Ferry and Tayport across in Fife. With comfortable rooms, free wifi and friendly attentive staff, the Invercarse is a great place to stay and offers accommodation at a good price, with some nice wines and food on the menu too. The staff here were a real bonus and their friendly, helpful approach made us feel very welcome. If you want somewhere to stay with fine views, private grounds, ample free parking and with an air of peace and quiet, this is a good choice, though it can be a busy place at night and a little noisy with a range of events catered for in their function suite. But all in all if your not bothered by a little exhuberance... this is a brilliant location for a short break and for all you walkers and ramblers, dont miss a visit across the river to Tayport and a lovely walk through the forest to the sand dunes with a cool sea breeze to refresh you. Our thanks to the Management and their team for making our stay such a pleasure JIm and Sue McHarg

    « Lovely Mother's Day treat!! »

Having only decided last minute we wanted to go out for Mother's Day, and trying everywhere, the birkhill inn told us to try Invercarse, somewhere we'd never even thought of! I was sadly working until 7 but the restaurant gave us a table at 8 no problem! We wandered in and were seated at a lovely table at the back. We ordered a round of drinks and then decided on our food. We were struggling for a while as everything on the menu sounded delicious! My mother and I decided on the black pudding Bon bons and my grandparents had the artisan bread to share. Starters arrived quickly and oh my goodness they were so tasty! I don't like celery or nuts, but they accompanied the black pudding down to a T. The breads my grandparents had ordered were lovely and hot and came with oils instead of butter (which I love). So tasty! Our mains then came and my mother, grandmother and myself ordered the fish and chips, delicious! We were glad we ordered the regular instead of the large as the regular was big enough. My grandfather had the meat board and he loved it! We then ordered desserts and coffees, I had the chocolate brownie and my mother had the cinnamon tart but the masterpiece was my grandmothers knicker bocker glory, oh my goodness, what an impressive site! We all loved the food and we built up a good rapore with our lovely down to earth waitress Suzy! Will definitely be back and reccomend to those struggling on where to go!

« after funeral cup of coffee »

the facilities for after funeral coffee are not very good as up stairs and the food is sparce, the sandwiches are like door steps and very thick, when I complained about the sandwiches the receptionist was very abrupt and said they could do nothing as the chef would only use that type of bread, the cakes were not plentiful and very small. The venue is not worth the money paid and there are far better for value venues

« Anther stay for work »

Having stayed here before I was happy to go again. This time a colleague was with me. She arrived two days before me on booking in with her points card she was upgraded to a suite. Which is good saying she was their for 5 days. I booked in and asked for my upgrade as I also have a card (the highest level). But did not get I did ask was the hotel busy and was told no. As previous the stay and the facilities were good staff very helpful. Will be back

    « Excellent stopover »

I base my review ratings on my expectations which are generally guided by the price I pay. That said and to be clear, an average or low price is no reason to offer shoddy service or unclean amenities. The price I paid for the two rooms I booked for myself and my colleague were in alignment with your average budget provincial chain hotel, around £50-60 per room. This place without doubt exceeded my expectations. A 10 minute drive from Dundee centre and off the main road means a quiet location. It's very close to the airport but Dundee Aerodrome isn't exactly an international hub. Late night check-ins are common with my work commitments and we were greeted and swiftly processed by a friendly, helpful night porter. Rooms are spacious, as are the beds. Slightly dated decor and furniture, a bit of threadbare and very slightly torn linen but clean. No view from the window to speak of but I was only interested in a good night's sleep which is exactly what I got. WiFi is complementary and decent quality. The breakfast buffet was well presented, a good variety offered and very tasty. The coffee is real (not instant) but the only request I made for natural yogurt, rather than flavoured, was unable to be fulfilled. No matter, the sausages and haggis made up for it! For £7.00 that's better value than a Premier Inn breakfast and to top it a lovely Tay view from the restaurant - see picture. Well done and thank you, I'll be visiting again on my next trip to Dundee.

    « Noisy at night »

Hotel nice with free parking. Beds ok but cobwebs on the ceiling. Used cotton buds and an empty biscuit wrapper in bedside drawer. Stayed because had an interview early the next day but from 10.30pm until 2am the noise from people partying in the ballroom was terrible. Whilst could have coped with the music it was the people spilling out for a chat, shouting, horns sounding, wheels spinning etc. Once one lot had gone another crowd replaced them. After driving 250 miles I got 4 hours sleep. I wouldnt like to live near the hotel. Reception informed me it was the christian union ball and they dont normally have functions during the week! Breakfast very nice but evening menu a little boring and exoensive for what it was.

    « Lovely Stay »

Had a lovely comfortable stay nice & warm & the bed was so comfy. Lovely grounds & on a main bus route into town. Free parking & plenty room for all. Never had breakfast so couldn't comment on this as we were room only.

« Neat and clean , average hotel »

Stayed the one night as attending a function. Room nicely decorated and looked to be a super king sized bed which was very comfortable. Pillows a bit on the hard side but some people like that. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the rooms but only full fat milk. I did ask for semi and was given a small jug of it. Room was cold when we arrived and it took me a while to realise that both the radiators were turned off. Soon warmed up though. All in all a good average hotel. Did not have breakfast as the restaurant meal the night before was very uninspired so stopped on way home for food.

    « Amazing view »

I stayed in best western invercarse in February during my trip as part of the college with the rest of the group. I must say the hotel staff were very welcoming, nice and sweet. The rooms were clean and the space was good enough. The view from were I used to sit for breakfast was amazing I could see sun rise and the beautiful color of the sky and the river as well and at night the stars and the moon looked soooo beautiful. By the time we reached to the end of our trip we felt that best west was like home and I must say thank you to the head of housekeeping Ms. May Cummings she was very helpful and so nice and sweet and the whole team came to say goodbye when we checked out. Thank you for making our stay in Dundee amazing and memorable Reem Alhammadi

    « Overnight stay »

We booked this hotel as a stop over on our journey. On arrival we were greeted by a row of windows onto the carpark with yellowed net curtains, not inspiring! We were shown ,unfortunately, to one of these rooms. There were two lightbulbs out and the sliding door on the wardrobe was off the runners. The bathroom was clean enough ,however the corridor the room was off was very noisy as there was a large gap under the door. The person in the room next door sneezed and it sounded as if he was in our room.We actually didnt stay as we were very disappointed with the room.We were told the hotel was full of Arabian students and they had no more rooms. Not sure we'll be staying at a Best Western if thats the standard.

    « Top Class »

The Redwood Restaurant is in a great location within the Hotel with magnificent views out across the River Tay there are two incredible Redwood trees in the grounds We had a family Sunday Lunch to celebrate a special birthday The menu is quite extensive and there is something for everyone As expected on a Sunday there was a choice of two roasts with vegetables and Yorkshire pudding The young staff are a credit to the Hotel management with a top class service The Food All starters were soon consumed with gusto and the different tastes from haggis to black pudding to smoke salmon and assorted breads and soups everyone agreed the tastes were exceptional Roasts were very good with really Tasty meats ,the vegetarian dishes were good although maybe a bit too much macaroni cheese , everyone cleared their plates ,the trawler plate looked and tasted first class Trios of ice cream, knickerbocker glories, meringues ,sticky toffee pudding were all very tasty The place was busy and I would recommend you book your table We left feeling really great ,we had a wonderful lunch made even better by a great team who, looked after us very well and all things considered The bill was pretty good too The food looks good and tastes good and this place is better than any of the chain restaurants attached to some local hotels

    « £3.70 for a bottle of mineral water? »

Yep, £3.70 for a bottle water to take back to the room. Stayed there last weekend. Actually our room was clean (and spacious though the other 3 rooms taken by our friends were less so). Breakfast was plentiful (but we had to clear our own plates away on both days). But; £3.70? for water? Some people might call that profiteering.

    « Nice hotel »

I stayed here while wicking in the area. The room was nice, very clean and plenty of space. The hotel bar and reception are are also very well kept. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were very polite and friendly. I'll definitely be staying here when working in the area in future.

    « Good value »

Had the set two course lunch everything arrived nice and warm no lag between courses attentive bar and waiting staff. Lovely grounds and surroundings a nice area to stay when visiting Dundee not to far from the city centre on a good bus route.

« Attended the BBC Alba Folk Music Awards at the Caird Hall in Dundee where the Strathaven Folk Club was nominated. »

Lovely hotel, we stayed one night in a deluxe double B&B, delicious full Scottish breakfast the next day in a lovely dining room with great views of the river. Only complaint was we could only stay one night. Staff very helpful and particularly liked the male member of staff on duty at reception when we arrived home about 1am, he gave us a warm welcome, thanks. Would definitely stay again and I like Dundee Town Centre, Caird Hall was beautiful and all the Christmas trees abd decorations around the town were beautiful. Would definitely recommend Nandos for a quick bite around the corner from the Caird Hall.

« Good value for money »

I stayed at best western invercase hotel whilst working away from home it cost around £60 for bed and breakfast and I could not fault the place the room was clean and warm, food was good and came out quick, there was a good choice at breakfast, friendly staff I really could not fault it good value for money

    « Warm and clean »

We stayed here for two nights in December. The room was very warm, quiet, clean, with comfortable beds. Food in the restaurant was disappointing, and, although the staff agreed that the meat served was riddled with fat, offered nothing in compensation on the evening itself. However, we were offered a discount for it upon checking out. Good for a place to lay your head after a long day.

« Pleasant and friendly hotel »

This is the first time we have stayed at the Invercarse Hotel whilst on a short break visiting friends and family. We were pleasantly surprised. Our Diamond card usually secures a ?free upgrade' but on this occasion this was not available, however the standard double and was perfectly adequate, with an excellent bed and well equipped bathroom. We had two evening meals at the hotel and the quality and presentation was very good ? as was the service. Bar staff were attentive and helpful. The choice at breakfast was very good. All in all, it was a good experience and we would certainly consider staying at this hotel again. Richard and Elizabeth

« Very Comfortable Hotel in good location »

Very Comfortable hotel in lovely area on southern outskirts of Dundee. About two miles from the city centre, the hotel has lovely views over the River Tay and a large free car park. Reception and the public areas were warm and welcoming and the staff were courteous and helpful. Particular mention for Jennifer on reception in this regard. Our upgraded executive double room was bright and spacious. The en-suite bathroom was also spacious and well appointed. Dinner was a high standard, as was breakfast. We will stay there again.

    « Excellent »

I stay here on business a few nights in the same week at least once every few months. The staff are excellent, friendly and courteous. There is always a friendly welcome back as if being greeted by old friends. The rooms are always clean and tidy. The breakfast and restaurant facilities are great. Whenever in Dundee this is my first choice of hotel and I am always disappointed if I find they are fully booked.

« Good place to stay »

Good deal for bed and breakfast at this hotel overlooking the firth on a clear day. Not too fat from city centre and on a reasonable bus route so no need to worry about parking. Lots of space in the hotel to sit and relax outside your room

    « Great Scottish Breakfast »

The Invercarse is a lovely old traditional and welcoming hotel, with friendly staff and clean well appointed rooms. We really only used the hotel for bed and breakfast, but the breakfast was outstanding. Haggis and Honey were my favourites! Not just any old honey, but Manuka honey. Our waitress was lovely with a great personality and a happy smile. The view from the dining room I understand is stunning, but sadly our morning was cloudy and wet. Overall great value for money and we will certainly use the Invercarse again when next in Dundee.

« Our stay at this best western »

Room bit of a letdown as it needs a lot of updating.. Shower pretty horrid with rust . But it was a good welcome in reception. And best of all was the breakfast which was excellent. Although I don't agree with having to do your own toast !! It was in a nice quiet setting .. Break was great pastry and good fresh bread too

    « Wonderful Wedding Venue »

This was my son and future daughter in laws choice of venue for their wedding on the 30th of October 2015. Firstly the venue was beautifully set up, all of the staff members performed in a very professional way with almost military procession. Nothing was to much bother and staff were very attentive at all times. I was so happy with the way everything was handled and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Everyone has said what a fantastic day and night they had and therefore I have given the hotel an Excellent. The lady manager on shift was fantastic! Well done to all the staff and thank you for making it a day to remember for everyone .

    « Second Visit »

This is the second time we have been to this hotel this year. It is a very nice hotel, lovely setting. Rooms very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Bit disappointed with the evening meals, portions are on the small side. I ordered a large fish, I have seen bigger goldfish. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay

« Lovely hotel with fab views »

We (3) booked the hotel as it was the location of a friends wedding. Rooms are a decent size and layout, the hotel especially downstairs is beautifully decorated in shades of golds and Browns. The view from the ballroom and restaurant was fab even with the rain. Food, both breakfast and for our friends wedding was lovely, the staff were polite, welcoming and accommodating when we asked to split bills 3 ways. The only niggles were room temperature as the towel rail is always on so it was a bit warm and because it was blowing a gale you couldn't keep the window open to counteract. And no flannels provided along with the towels.

« Well worth the price »

Best Western Invercarse in Dundee was a great bargain. While not in the center of town it is just a short bus ride or straight shot by car to where the action is. The rooms are clean and up to date. The made to order breakfast is well worth the price. There is plenty of parking. The hotel itself appears to have been a large residential home at one time. There is beautiful woodwork and details in the old part. The staff is quite friendly and attentive.

« nice enough hotel but small basic room »

Have stayed in a few Best Western hotels and usually older buildings with nice big rooms. This was also a nice hotel but with additional rooms built into back so was slightly disappointed in smallish basic room. Dinner was nice and staff friendly though so would go back

    « Pleasant Hotel »

This is a pleasant hotel, whist not a top flight establishment, it has well presented rooms, which are reasonable value for money. The staff all seemed very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent, although the coffee was not pleasant. We had one dinner here, the food was passable but showed little imagination in the menu, but the dining room was totally devoid of any atmosphere a little cold but the service good. The bar was a cluttered mess of chairs, again rather cheerless, and again saved by pleasant staff.

    « Invercarse stay »

Stayed at this Dundee hotel for one night and found it to be very good. Staff are all very pleasant, room was clean and comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast were very good with a good choice on the menu. We will certainly use this good hotel when we are next in the area.

    « Very disappointing »

Went for family meal. Started off fine with a drink in the lounge bar. Then were seated at a nice table but unfortunately it all went downhill after this. Service very poor, very slow, forgetful staff. Had to ask for drinks order to be taken, then had to go & collect drinks from bar. Had to ask twice for wine menu. Food order taken incorrectly. Ordered wine then had to go to bar again to remind them. Food was ok but overall a very disappointing night. Safe to say that we won't be back.

    « a lovely cosy welcoming hotel »

My husband and I were booked in for one night, (last sunday night), when we arrived at reception it was cosy and welcoming and the staff were lovely, as was our room, just right, we came down to the bar to get a drink and something to eat, and again the staff could not do enough for us, and the food was excellent, I had scampi and haddock combi, and it was fresh and tasty. our overall experience of this hotel was excellent. would highly recommend it.

    « Great Hotel »

Spent a Saturday night here in October and it is a great hotel. It is rather far to walk into town but for the price it is fantastic for an overnight stay. We had dinner at the hotel which was great and a good choice. The breakfast was one of the best I have had at any hotel with fantastic choices of fresh fruit, cereals, and full cooked breakfast with everything to choose from. The rooms were very clean and just perfect for an overnight visit. There was a wedding on when we were there and never heard a thing all night, so very quiet. A two minute drive and you are back on the main Perth/Glasgow road and almost directly across from Dundee Airport.

    « business stay »

Attended an NHS induction course ,so location ideal. Hotel clean and comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was good value and beautifully cooked. Wonderful views over the Tay from the restaurant.Superb location all round. Room quite hot and with windows open was quite noisy due to some heating unit or similar outside, Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was once again tasty and beautifully cooked. Only criticism was that when leaving and waiting for a taxi outside, reception staff were smoking outside and left with my clothes smelling of smoke. It was not the image I wished to have. Perhaps staff could smoke elsewhere?

    « Surprise 60th Birthday Party »

Great venue for a celebration. We received excellent service from check in to check out. Room was very clean and comfortable. Could not fault the catering at the event, followed by an excellent breakfast the following morning in the restaurant with magnificent views over the Tay. Ample free car parking at the hotel which was a bonus. If staying for a lazy weekend break would request a room at the opposite end to the ballroom to avoid noise, but that said I would return to the Invercarse Hotel.

    « Fair Hotel. »

    Good customer service provided by staff. Access for disabled people good. Hotel room superb including wet room. Could recommend this hotel to anyone. Food excellent (hot plates for hot meals and cold plates for cold meal);

    « Work related »

Attended an NHS course at the local hospital and the hotel is within 15 minutes walking distance and easy to find. so great if you don't want the hassle of parking or have no car and have never been to Dundee before. Parking was ample, price was reasonable at the hotel and the rooms were lovely and clean and staff were friendly and welcoming. Only disappointment for me was that i was out in a room with a disabled wet room so it was sore on my back having to bend so low to wash my face and brush my teeth. This has happened before in other hotels and was not a big enough deal to ask to change rooms as it was only 3 nights but something that is worth mentioning if you have similar issues.

    « Don't judge a book by it's cover. »

We stayed here for one night to celebrate a family wedding. Checking in time was 2pm but they allowed us to check in at 12.30 which was great to chill before the wedding. Twin bedded room was clean but basic. The banquet room overlooked The Tay which is beautiful. Wedding meal was very good on hot plates. Good night sleep. Fantastic breakfast. Waiting staff were very friendly and polite.
