« Happy to Stay Here »

We were pleasantly surprised at the day's end. To locate the entrance to the facility was a bit tricky since a restaurant is attached to the building. The desk clerk was very helpful and nice. We had to have him deliver some things to the room as well as come to check the TV. Come to find out a previous guest had damaged remote connection to the TV. The facility was nice, the bed comfortable, the room and facilities clean. It was nice to have a chain steak house restaurant on the facility grounds so we did not have to travel to get dinner. The room was a bit difficult to find because of the lay out. It was a quiet room at the back of the property, but we were awakened by garbage pickup in the early morning. The breakfast was good.

    « Love our Stays! »

Very quiet rooms, friendly staff, great location and wonderful pillow-top beds! Rooms are always clean and smell nice. When we've brought our small dog she seemed very at ease and comfortable for a small fee of $10.00, great potty place for her always well maintained. Montana Mikes steak restaurant attached to hotel serving great steaks. 1 block west is a very friendly, nice atmosphered Perkins restaurant. Right across the street is a Wal-Mart. Looking forward to our next stay! Love staying in McPherson, Ks. at the Best Western Holiday Manner!

« Clean and Great Staff »

I stayed here overnight on business. This is an older hotel and not much to look at, but the rooms are nice and clean with comfortable beds and lots of pillows. Everything worked just fine. Only issue was that the "back" door (we were on the ground floor) and these rooms have entrances from the parking lot and courtyard, had a gap underneath that was large enough for the morning sunlight to come thru. And someone had stuffed kleenex in the peep hole. I wouldn't want to stay in that room (129) in winter. The staff person at the front desk was very friendly. They had hot coffee and chocolate chip cookies in the front lobby when we checked in. The price was very reasonable as well. Connected to t he hotel is a Montana Mike's restaurant which was very convenient. Also other restaurants in the area. We like MM so we enjoyed that. Hotel is right off I-135 so it was convenient. But it was not a noisy area.

    « Getaway »

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy, room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool area was nice and not crowded. The complimentary hot breakfast was delicious, and again staff was very helpful and made sure everything was to our liking. We will be staying in this hotel again when we are in the area.

    « Accepts Pets! »

Good, clean hotel. The staff was friendly and informative regarding places to eat, as well as local attractions. For pets, they have a dedicated walking area. I asked for a first floor level and had no problems getting it.

« great place... great satff »

Very spacious rooms. Love the Steakhouse being attached. Always smells good around there.....Staff is very friendly, Great rates for what you receive. Had construction around it that sort of hampered entry, but still you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet .. LOL... place is very nice. it will be great when construction in the area is done

    « Thankful in McPherson »

The hotel does not have a lot of curb appeal but the rooms are comparable to other higher priced competition. The Steak House is a great food option too. Friendly, hardworking staff. A Great location!

« Very helpful and well maintained hotel »

Have stayed here several times. Always economical, very good value. Breakfast good. Staff friendly and glad to assist in any way needed. Location east side of town is convenient to highway and numerous restaurants very close by.

« Hospitality with some Flair »

It's not often that a routine travel stop makes such an impression that I feel compelled to "tell the world". However, after three years of extensive travel all over the United States, I can proudly tell you that I think I may have found the Hotel that all other Hotels should emulate. Every experience there, from my check-in all the way to a most excellent complimentary hot breakfast the next morning was full of competence with a large dose of friendliness. Needless to say, I felt right at home. Some things they do that I never see in other hotels, even the pricey ones. Those include offering a hearty hot breakfast which included Chipotle sausage with the perfectly prepared eggs and Silk Almond Milk as a lactose-free milk substitute. There were many other exceptional items that demonstrated the attention to detail as well as a sincere desire to create a comfortable travel experience. I hope to revist this area again and will definitely choose the Best Western Holiday Manor as my Hotel choice. Tichiganblues

« Quality Room at an Affordable Price »

This is a Great Location. Right off highway 35. The rooms are very quiet, clean and nicely decorated. Beds are very comfortable. This Hotel offers an Excellent Steak House as well as an excellent hot breakfast with quality offerings. The staff is very helpful and very, very nice..

« Decent for this town »

Overall a decent hotel experience. Maybe a little pricey for what it was. I wish the lobby/office were labeled on the outside of the building so it was easier to locate, and I wish there were better parking for large vehicles (closer to the rooms). I did kill a couple large bugs in my room... which creeps me out, but otherwise the room was satisfactory. Bed was comfortable, it was quiet. I didn't go to the breakfast room.

    « It's okay »

We stay here every year for the Scottish festival. Room was okay. I woke up with bites on my torso and so did my dad from another room. Air conditioner didn't seem to keep very cool. A little black mold above the shower. Staff is nice and retrieved my son's remote control airplane from the roof. (Which is above and beyond in my opinion) Room was clean, just smelled mildew. It's nice to be connected to the restaurant.

    « Great hotel! »

We always stay here when attending the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. The breakfast is really good and the rooms are very nice. My only complaint is that I wish they had recliners in every room, as I need that to sleep in. Otherwise, great!

« Awesom Place to Stay in Small Town Flavor »

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Rebecca and Heather. They made our whole stay very pleasant and they were very accommodating. Jody in the breakfast parlor was excellent. She made us feel right at home as though she was cooking our breakfast in our kitchen. My family and I reserved 3 rooms for 6 days and we totally enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of everyone in the hotel staff. Kudos to everyone. Cant wait to go back

« Good value, friendly staff »

I have stayed at this Best Western twice in the last 6 months. I tried to book another time, but they had no availability. Good value for the money. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant on premises is very handy....especially after a long day of need to go anywhere but 20 steps from room entrance. The exterior pool area is very nice, grass lush, pool clean.

    « Another Great Stay »

There are other new hotels in Mcpherson but this Best Western is our go to place every time. The room we had was updated and clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was perfect. We has stayed at this hotel several times over the past 3 years and have never had a bad experience.

We travel cross country yearly and by far this will be a place we'll be returning to. Not only because of its price value but because of their comfortable beds, clean and quiet rooms and fantastic staff. Like other visitors I must also mention their excellent breakfast. I give this place three stars and wonder why AAA travel book only give it two stars. One reviewer mentioned the place doesn't provide a shuttle van to the Wichita Airport. I image shuttle service would add another $30 or so dollars to the cost of every room booked.

    « Excellent Motel/Hotel in McPherson, Kansas »

I booked multiple rooms August 26 through the 28th, 2016, and I and my group could not have been more pleased. The staff was warm upon arrival. They allowed me to select the rooms for family members that were attending my mother's 90th birthday celebration that weekend. While the rooms were not all together, all but one were pool side. The hotel was completely full, but you would not have known. The rooms were cool and the beds were very comfortable. We had a party by the pool on Saturday evening and really enjoyed the facility. Great ice machine for the drinks. Really good food for breakfast that was provided, and I really can't say enough good things about this hotel. I will be back for future events, and it makes me proud to have grown up in McPherson.

    « Good location »

Pet friendly. Nice area to walk the dog. The room was spacious but dark. Nice shower. The room was clean. Bathroom could have used a more through cleaning. Nice pool area. Restaurant attached to hotel. Many other restaurants in the area as well as shopping and gas stations.

« Stay in Best Western McPherson »

Pool looked clean, breakfast buffet nice. Hotel itself dated and smelled off smoke. It would of also helped if there where a shuttle van provided by the hotel for the Wichita air port. Taxi's are very expensiveness and don't really want to travel to McPhereson

« Catch up with sister »

Totally satisfied with my room,,,,,,,,,,,reception had no hesitation in changing my room for me as the first room was so claustrophobic ,,,,,,,,,,, my current room by the pool is exceptional,,,,,,,,,,, beds really comfy and very clean with everything I need. Staff friendly and a pleasant surprise to get a phone call to welcome me to the motel and a second call to ask if I was satisfied with my room and was there anything they could do to improve my stay. Would love to stay longer but have to head back to Australia. Will stay here again if I am able to come back to this lovely part of Kansas. Thank you staff for a lovely stay.

« Kansas Lions State Council Meeting »

Always a good experience with this facility. Rooms are pleasant and clean with comfortable beds. Food for council meals is excellent and Montana Mike's Restaurant does a good job with other meals too. Hot breakfast is a bonus. The price is right as the management works with the Lions of Kansas twice a year for a council meeting-one in August and the second in October.

    « Filthy »

Exposed electrical wiring due to improperly sized light switch plates, mildew, body hair on toilet and bathroom floor, and filthy doors, ceilings, and walls encrusted with dirt, food, and who knows. Would have left ,unfortunately paid in advance and would have lost money. Look elsewhere.

    « Great Stay »

My company put me in a Double and they didn't have any at the time of check in so they made a decision to upgrade to a single...check the room for me and Front Desk and Management was very respectful. So my stay was peaceful

« DO NOT Stay at BW Mcpherson, Kansas »

The overall experience for this BW motel, rated from 1-10, 10 being best, is a 2 at best. And, the only reason I rated it that is because the breakfast was fairly good. When we checked in the desk clerk was more interested in her phone than us. And, our room was in a whole other building

« Professional staff, Nice Property »

All staff were accommodating and professional in their work. The property was as clean as possible. It isn't a brand new motel, but clean and comfortable. We used an accessible room and the facilities met our needs. The breakfast room was clean. There was an excellent selection of breakfast items with some provisions for gluten and lactose need diets. I will stay here in the future.

I would say that this property definitely offers bang for your buck! The breakfast is way more than you would expect and ready to go by 6:00 am everyday! The front desk staff is a pleasure to deal with and quick. Housekeeping does a great job as does the maintenance crew. I've stayed here 4 or 5 times in the last year and it's always the same....fantastic! Enjoy your time in McPherson!

    « Family gathering success »

Helpful staff, convenient location, nice amenities - most important for us, a comfortable bed. Any time I am in McPherson KS, I'll be staying at the Best Western. It's like a little oasis on the prairie :)

« Great family friendly spot »

Found this spot by luck and my entire family was very pleased. The staff was very friendly, room was clean and indoor pool was very well maintained. Would stay again and recommend to anyone ..................

    « Not the best »

Stayed Wed to Fri. No hot water till Friday morning. In room coffee pot missing parts. Card key was hard to swipe and did not work well. Breakfast, no coffee cups one morning. Pancake machine out of service two mornings. Seemed like lots of employees outside breakfast area standing around smoking. Room was clean and comfortable. At dinner at attached Montana Mikes Restaurant and ordered pork chops. One was undercooked and the other was browned on one side but was raw on the inside. They did replace and dinner was free. Would not stay again.

    « Good Place »

Stayed here with a group of people that were getting ready to head out on a motorcycle fundraiser around Kansas. Everything went well at this property, you can tell it is a little dated but it is very clean and the Staff was exceptional. Breakfast was y our typical Best Western Fare. It will get you going, but it does leave you wanted a bit more. The room I was in was very nice. Large and plenty of space to spread everything out that I was needing. I had blocked several rooms and I never heard any complaints about this property. Good Job Folks at the Holiday Manor.

    « fun weekend »

The room had Bugs in the room and in the other room next to me anmd the out door pool was closed to many people in the indoor pool to enjoy andmy niece got pink eye from being in the pool. The restraunt was very good that was next to it and motel easy to find from interstate easy on easy off

« Stay at the best Western »

The counter lady was very busy seemed to be doing several peoples job which did not allow a speedy check in for us. She was trying her best to be friendly however I could tell she was stressed she was never rude to us. I had to ask about the breakfast and the pool things that you normally are given instructions to but I can understand she had her hands full. Took awhile for the room to cool down if you know there are guest coming maybe maintenance can turn down the air it was not even on. It smelled in the room we were in. The beds were not that bad and the breakfast was not the best we ended up buying Sonic our second night.

This is a very good hotel. First I want to let you know that this is a PET friendly hotel. We did not have pets but I saw the sign stating they accept pets for a $10 fee per pet, per night. Our room was very big. It had to entries. Also, were the refrigerator and microwave. Coffee machine in the room. Staff was friendly. The provide a fantastic breakfast ( oatmeal, pancakes, ham, fruit, yogurt, cereal, various milks, biscuits and gravy, donuts, bagels, etc. etc. Hotel is easy to get too from highway. Across the street is a restaurant and Walmart and other stores.

« Very Clean, Great Staff »

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. Both times the room was very clean, and the staff very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to assist you in any way. On our most recent stay, we were traveling with our small dog, and she even got a goody bag at check-in! The pet area was very nice, with plenty of room for multiple dogs to be walked at the same time. Their complimentary breakfast is also wonderful, with a wide variety of foods for any palate. We will definitely stay here again if in the McPherson area.

« Great Stay, Wonderful People »

This BW was very clean and comfortable and the room was huge. We travel with our dog and there was a very nice area for her just across the parking lot. The motel does not look impressive from the outside, but it is well maintained and clean. We had expected to stay just one night, but a medical emergency kept us in town for another day. The front desk manager was very accommodating when I asked if we could keep our room for an extra day. The breakfast in the morning was great. Everything you could ask for: a full complement of cold and hot items, and an attentive person overseeing the breakfast area.

    « Great Motel »

This is a great motel to stay at when traveling in the McPherson area. The staff is very caring, they have a wonderful breakfast and having Montana Mikes in the motel is great. Having an indoor and outdoor pool is an added plus.

« Small Town Best Western »

This Best Western is a little dated but the room was clean and it was fairly quiet. I was there on a Friday and Saturday evening. The staff was friendly and very willing to help. The attached restaurant, Montana Mike's, was a good place to have something to eat and a drink. Just down the street is the McPherson Museum which was pretty interesting - lots of information on the Santa Fe trail if you are a history buff. McPherson may not be a destination but if you are traveling through, the Best Western is an OK place to stay.

    « Comfortable, clean, friendly »

This hotel is very clean and the beds are really comfortable with nice bedding. The front desk staff was very friendly. Especially Demze. The breakfast is much nicer than a standard Continental with lots of hot food options.

    « Amazing pancake machine »

After a long day, the exit for MacPherson Kansas was a welcome site. We arrived at the Best Western Holiday Manor and were greeted warmly and received a welcome bag of chocolate chip cookies. The rooms were large and quiet. Dinner at the adjacent Montana Mike's restaurant was fantastic (see Montana Mike review). Breakfast was included and I was surprised with the pancake machine (not the usual waffle maker). Totally a cool way to have delicious pancakes in a couple of minutes - combined with the cheesy eggs, pastries, and other breakfast items make this one of the best breakfast(s) from our road trip. Pat and Andy Austin Aurora, CO

    « always a great stay »

We stay here each time we attend a campus event at McPherson College with our daughter. We love the fully range of breakfast items and have often eaten at Montana Mikes for a good dinner. Everyone is always very helpful.

    « An okay stay »

Useful for proximity to freeway and stores nearby. Room not clean, with worn carpet that felt faintly gritty and dust on desk chair feet. Major road works and Kansas wind conspire to keep areas outside unappealing.

    « Change of Management? »

We have always enjoyed staying at the Best Western in McPherson, Kansas. Generally, we have had a great experience there. This time, however, we had housekeeping issues. We arrived around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday to find that our reserved room was not available yet because it had not been cleaned. Fine. That was understandable. We left and came back at 3:00. Our room was STILL not ready. My son and husband watched the staff as they did up our room. Then, around 10:00 on Sunday, there was a knock on our door. It was housekeeping. "Just checking," she said. "Did you need anything?" she asked. Well, no, we were getting ready to leave. I was a bit peeved that there seems to be so little communication between management and housekeeping.

    « Group stay »

This was a one night stay while on a choir tour. The rooms were very nice. The only issue is you have to walk outside aways to your room. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was a great value. Would stay here again. Making reservations was a breeze.

« Very good except the shower »

The room was very nice and clean, and the beds were great the only thing I wish would change is the shower head, it needed to be cleaned or changed out as it didn't allow the water to come out down straight

« Staff really took care of us »

Booked a room for one night by phone. System transferred me to central reservations, who promised to request a rollaway bed to fit us all. Request never made it to hotel. Hotel staff allowed us to sleep in adjoining room as well at single room rate to make up for it. Very helpful staff. Their advice that I'll pass on is, "Just Press Zero" to book locally with the front desk. That way any special request will really get attached to the reservation! Thanks, Best Western Holiday Manor! You really took care of my family!

    « Musty not Dusty »

I have stayed here twice now and both times the rooms are clean but smell very musty. The staff is friendly and the rooms are good size. Love the recliners in the rooms. Discounts are nice for Mcpherson parents who come in for a weekend to visit their kids.

« Great place to staY »

Check in was easy and convenient. I needed a room with outside access (traveling with dog) and getting moved to a room that met that configuration was easy and fast. Convenient to steakhouse, McDonald, and Taco Bell. Room was clean and plenty big for my needs. TV and fridge worked great.

    « Large Room »

My daughter, one-year-old grandson and I stayed at the BW Holiday Manor last week and were so happy with our choice. The room with two queen beds was large enough to accommodate the baby's need to crawl and explore after hours in the car. Although older and not posh, the amenities were excellent. Among the things we appreciated were the heat lamp in the bathroom and the comfortable beds. It was quiet and clean. We slept through the breakfast so I can't answer to that. The staff was friendly and attentive. We definitely would stay there again!

« Business Stay Exceeded Expectations! »

I have had an outstanding experience with the staff of this hotel! Rebecca has helped me multiple times and was fast, and experienced! We had a bad experience with a hotel right before this trip and I was very apprehensive to send our four employees hours away from home without having experience with this hotel in the past, but Rebecca eased my mind. The entire staff was professional, and very attentive! I would recommend this stay to anyone going to a conference in this area! Great job, staff!

  • 4
    « Nice hotel »

Very friendly & helpful staff. We have stayed here many times for conferences. The catering is very good. Breakfast is usually excellent. This time the breakfast wasn't refilled very promptly. Had to wait over 30 minutes for some eggs but they were excellent when they finally came.

    « Good Stay »

Rebecca at the front desk went out of her way to give me the best stay possible, and very easy to work with.Very Quiet area, Nice Room. great breakfast. Great location within walking distance to several restaurants, Wal-Mart etc. No major problems!

« Unusual Best Western experience »

Best Western usually delivers a consistently clean, safe stay. This property was not typical. I did not feel safe in the parking lot. The room was dirty and dilapidated. The sheets were gritty. The towels were stiff and rough. The cost was comparable to the next hotel in which I stayed (not a Best Western), where none of these problems occurred.

« Quiet, comfortable, great breakfast »

Fastest access to the interstate but without the usual noise associated with close highway access. Rooms are large, indoor pool, with standard fitness room. Restaurant on premises and a variety of fast food nearby. Also easy access to McPherson College. Hotel shows some age but well maintained. Coffee available all hours, newspapers provided, breakfast above average. Lobby area resembles a budget hotel.

    « Not the Best »

The hotel is in need of a remodel. In particular, the bathroom was in such poor condition we could not tell if it was clean. The tub and floor edges were blackish and the floor grout was various shades of gray and black.

« Stayed for Hillsboro art show; big but buggy room. »

Big room, beds ok, clean carpet, good size parking area. BUT bugs, spiderweb several places, Big crack under door for bugs to get in. HUGE spider on ceiling over one bed next morning. Desk person TOTALLY nonchalant about bug & spider issue. Manager did respond to query about issues, says on job only 1 week, retraining staff @ desk and housekeeping crew and new standards Will be enforced. We will see how that goes if we stay again. Hard to look forward trying it again.

    « Businessfrom Goodyear »

I normally stay in a Hilton line hotel. However, this Best Western was on par and above anything I have gotten from any other hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had the sink outside the toilet/bath. The bath included heat lamp for a very comfortable shower dry off. Highly recommend this hotel. BTW, the price was also great. I am on expenses, so that is not a concern for me, but if you are paying out of pocket, this is even better.

« Nice enough considering the limited options »

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom needs to be updated along with the entire facility. Breakfast was included and tasty. The breakfast room needs to be refreshed. Had an attendant in the breakfast room but still a bit messy.

« Clean and good value in McPherson »

I stayed here for most of my recent trip. Single female and felt completely safe the whole time. Rooms are a good size and very clean. No issues at all. Reception super helpful to the extent of letting me check in early after leaving a fleapit the night before (Best Western was fully booked). Breakfast is good and plenty of it. Pool is fabulous and I pretty much had it all to myself. Would definitely recommend and if I'm ever in that neck of the woods again this would be where I would stay.

    « Hidden Gem »

Our stay with Best Western Holiday Manor didn't start out well. We drove around the parking lot looking for the front desk to check in for quite a while, only finding it after a phone call to the front desk. It is located next to Montana Mike's under the awning, but it isn't marked unless you walk right up to the door. But, other than that confusion, the rest of the stay was great. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was friendly. Finding our rooms was simple, thanks to a map from the front desk. We were pleasantly surprised to find the hidden outdoor pool was located behind our rooms and surrounded by the building. We had a front door to our rooms leading to the parking lot and back doors leading to the pool area. Our rooms were tidied while we were out for the day and my daughters' stuffed toys were arranged on the beds like they were napping on top of the bedspread. Breakfast had a nice selection. The pancake machine was fun to watch. The only other hiccup was the wi-fi going out during our stay. I didn't miss it. It was nice for the kids to have to play games together before bed. The front desk staff did work hard to try to resolve the issues, even going so far as to obtain Montana Mike's wi-fi password for our use.
