« Best Western is the best in Clarkston, WA. »

Had a great stay and excellent restaurant recommendations while staying at the Best Western RiverTree Inn in Clarkston, WA. The room was clean, stylish, inviting and comfortable very quite, so was able to get a good restful nights sleep.

    « Clarkson stay 10-2016 »

I always enjoy when my work brings me to clarkston ( usually once a year) The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. I really appreciate that the breakfast is set up early in the morning as i need to be at work at 6:00 am. Thank you!

« Great Place to Stay »

The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious and was a really quiet room. The hotel was convenient to other amendies (restraunts etc.) Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again. Best Western Hotels never disappoint me and for road trips they are the best. The breakfast was great with a wide variety, since I have a restricted diet, I certainly had no problem finding something and enough to eat. We found the cookies and coffee available in the afternoon a bonus also.

    « A typical, older motel-type facility located in a commercial area »

We stayed here one night because it was very close to the departure point for a Hell's Canyon jet-boat tour that we were taking the next day. It is an older facility that apparently caters to the budget- minder traveller. Our room was on the inside of a courtyard, the center of which was a swimming pool. That was OK except the sliding glass door of our room was literally no more than 15 feet from the pool and on the afternoon we checked in there were two young kids using the pool and they were somewhat noisy. Fortunately they were only there for approx 2+ hours. This place also had a number of construction workers in residence (working on a major maintenance project at the local paper mill,l I learned) and those staying above us (a two-floor property) were up (and making noise) at 4:45 AM the next morning; not exactly the timetable that I was operating on, but then I learned that the free breakfast at this place started at 5:00 AM, so connect the dots. Not a place that I would choose for a return stay, but considering that the breakfast was pretty good (all the construction workers had been gone since 6:30 AM) and the one night cost was $109, I cant complain too loudly!

« Does everything you need a hotel to do! »

This is one of the older style Best Western's. It is kept very clean. The furnishings are a bit on the older side. Linens could use to be updated. The staff truly goes out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast is good enough. Hot and plentiful. Plenty of hot water. The price is low compared to the other hotels in the area. If comfort and cleanliness are what you are looking for, you will be very satisfied.

« Room Not Clean, Smoke alarm malfunctioned »

At 15 minutes after midnight, the battery in the smoke alarm malfunctioned and started beeping. Moved us to another room. Next morning, after I showered, walked across the floor and noticed the bottoms of my feet were black. Took the white washcloth and rubbed it on the floor, it was black. Floor hadn't been cleaned in weeks! Took it to the front desk and the clerk looked at the other clerk and stated "That's your department" Outside looked bad. Rooms dated, HVAC system noisy. Worst Best Western I've ever stayed in. It should not even be allowed to call itself Best Western, and I've been a BW Crown Member for about 30 years.

    « First Stay »

Employees were helpful and friendly. The room was clean. Breakfast area had a nice variety of foods including gluten free items on request for those with that need. We did not use, but they had a nice pool area with hot tub and pool side rooms available. Would definitely stay again.

This place was spotless. Bed was comfortable. A little road noise, but not bad. Did I say clean? We didn't go in the pool, but it looked very inviting. Better than average food selection for breakfast. And the staff were extremely helpfully and kind .

    « Love this place »

We were in Clarkson house hunting for 4 days and we found this motel more than exceeded our needs. The room had every convenience, including a spa tub. The breakfast was delicious, even biscuits and gravy! We will stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

« Perfect stop during hot camping trip »

Camping in May was surprisingly hot, so we stopped here on our drive from Idaho to BC, for laundry, a real bed, and air conditioning. All were provided! The parking was suitable for a truck with trailer. The hotel was scrupulously clean and we had a brief escape from the 98 F weather. I recommend this place to travellers with families (nice pool) and to people with big rigs (good parking).

« Not good at all »

We have been using Best Westerns for our recent road trip. Good rooms on most stops except for this one. We started with a 2nd floor room and then found out they have no elevator. The 1st floor room they gave us smelled bad. Our internet did not work. Our bathroom was dirty. DO NOT stay at this place.

    « Thursday Night »

An older BW that is clean, comfortable and good staff. The AC is horrible...but with it over 100, you had to have it on. Disappointed in the Breakfast compared to other BW's. Area to eat was to small and limited items again due to a small area. Had breakfast at a local place.

    « Better than expected »

Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast. This is and older motel but is well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood looked a little dicey but we experienced no problems. There is also a great but kind of hidden Micro-Brew near-bye. *mattress due for replacement, had the taco bed effect.

    « Family Weekend »

We choose to stay here because it was close to the family we were visiting. My son enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. I was worried because our room was on the main floor facing the street. We had sliding glass door that opened. I thought it would be very loud from the traffic, but it wasn't. We all had a good night sleep both nights. I would stay here again. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « Worst Hotel of a 3 Week Trip »

Doing a 6 week trip around the country. Have been on the road 3 weeks and this is the worst hotel we have been in. Checked in and got a 2nd floor room. Could not find the elevator so stopped at the desk and we were told there wasn't one. We are 60, and getting luggage up and down to 2nd floor was not going to work. Front desk clerk reluctantly "found" us a room on 1st floor. Unfortunately that room smelled like a sewer. My guess is the carpet got wet at some point and should have been replaced. Since we had already complained about the 2nd floor we just lived with the smell by running the air conditioner a lot. It's an old in wall unit that is extremely loud, so that added to the fun of the stay. To top it off, could not get wi-FI connection in the room. It would connect but signal was so bad it would not load anything. All this for the price of a Marriott, which we would have booked if there was one in the area. Paid a high price for a roadside type motel room. Shame on you Best Western.

    « never again »

this place used to be very motorcycle friendly. not anymore. we've stayed here multiple times and always been accommodated. not this time! I made this reservation in January, asked for a room on the first floor near the pool where we could park our motorcycle outside. what we got was a second floor room as far away from the pool as possible. and on top of that, we had to wait 30 minutes while they cleaned the room. we will find somewhere else to stay if we come this way again. appears to have new owners who only care about how full they are.

« Great place to stay »

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. The hotel was in great condition and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the best breakfast and the pool was refreshing. I would definitely stay here again. This is a great value!

    « Nice, Quiet, Hotel »

Stopped here on our way back home. This is a pretty standard Best Western - nothing special, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quite. Just what we needed. There's a small outdoor pool too, which was a lot of fun. The continental breakfast left something to be desired though.

    « Motorcycle trip »

I rolled into, Clarkston on a very hot afternoon, on my motorcycle. I was so glad to spot the Best Western sign. The desk staff was quite friendly and courteous, check-in was fast and easy, and Best Western offers a motorcycle discount. My room, #137, was super clean and I liked the way it was arranged. The spa tub felt good after a long hot day on the bike. The hotel is located close to a number of good eateries. I am a breakfast guy, and the breakfast here is great and has something for everyone. I spent the nights of the 27th and 28th of June there and will definitely stay there again!

« A nice place to stay in Clarkston »

We enjoyed our recent visit to this hotel with a large group of travelers. The hotel was clean and well maintained by the staff. The staff keeps a clean breakfast buffet, ample hot coffee throughout the day, a nice pool/indoor hot tub in a central courtyard and lots of parking. Laura at the front desk was very helpful, as was the Maintenance Manager and Cleaning Staff, all of which we got to know during our stay. The hotel is kid friendly and close to restaurants, golf, bowling and river activities. Thanks for hosting us!

    « Traveling »

Upscale, very nice walking distance to several eating places and a casino if you so desire. The simple room was like a suite, very helpful. Limited parking for our room, but was workable. Nice court yard with swimming pool.

« Great hotel for week stay »

Our little league baseball team and families stayed at this Best Western the past week. The hotel staff was terrific: very accommodating, supportive, and kept a sense of humor with 11 year olds running around the hotel and using the pool. They even let us use the breakfast room for an evening celebration for 25 people...much appreciated. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and it was a comfortable home for the week. Thanks for the great service!

« A good nights rest on business travel »

I stayed at BW Rivertree on 07/25 and found the staff to be very helpful and the bed very comfortable. It is a bit dated (actually a mix of old and new), but did have some good amenities: an outdoor pool, an in-room jacuzzi tub, and a pretty good breakfast (including make your own breakfast burritos, eggs, waffles, and biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. Although the hotel is right on the main drag, I didn't hear any noise from the road. I'd stay there again.

« Best place to stay. »

My husband and I make a business trip to the Lewiston/Clarkston valley 10 months of the year, and always stay at the Clarkston BW. It is an older motel, but very well maintained. The employees are very friendly, and helpful. They have a great breakfast in the morning. Don't know of any other place we'd rather stay.

    « Deviation from quality »

The hotel definitely needs an upgrade in room decor, furnishings; bathroom tub/shower enclosure. Strong odor in room unfortunately probably from carpet/furnishings absorbing outdoor pulp-mill-like odor. Poor insulation from outdoor area too. Interesting room configuration with 3 double beds (1 in a loft accessible by spiral staircase). More worth a 2-star $70-80 room than in hundreds. The beds were comfortable but bugs were found in the room.

« Wonderful staff and hotel »

We came for a couple of days from Canada for a visit. From the moment we walked through the doors it was almost as if we hadn't left. The staff were easily the most friendly people we met on our trip to the states and did everything in their power to ensure we had a good stay. The managers Sara and Jason were so helpful and all of their recommendations for places to go and see were on point. It was almost as if we had a travel agent at our hotel. Rooms were clean and reasonably updated and it's clear that the staff care about the quality of your stay. Hot breakfasts instead of the regular continental were a wonderful touch and really gave us the motivation to go out and explore with a good start to the day. Would highly recommend this hotel for any persons stay in the area. It was a wonderful experience we hope to repeat. Really living up to the best western expectations! Thanks guys.

« Great Hotel, but in a run down part of town »

Helpful, friendly employees and clean, comfortable, large rooms. Nice pool area with a hot tub. The only downside is that the hotel is in a run down part of town with a rough looking casino across the street. Good breakfast for a small hotel.

« Better than most in town »

Although the city is getting a bit shabby, this hotel is managing to stay nice. Room was quite nice and the bed was delightful. Really enjoyed the pool. The pizza place next door was great. Lobby is a bit simple and some public space carpet/AstroTurf is getting shabby.

    « Clean & Comfortable »

We stayed here on a bicycle tour. The rooms and grounds were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel as a good place to stay in Clarkston. I was a little surprised that our room cost more than a higher end room at a brand new Best Western Plus hotel in Dayton, Washington just the night before. I suppose that is related to higher demand in the larger town.

« Very Good Best Western »

We thought this was a good hotel. A typical Best Western. A good place to stay to drive around the area We were happy there. Very Large Room - very clean, Good Bathroom. Good Wi-fi, Comfortable bed. OK Breakfast

    « Considerate of motorcyclists »

The Rivertree Inn staff were fully on board with their motorcycle brand tie-in. I was asked to park my bike in a prominently visible spot up front, where it would be visible from the front desk all night. In the morning, another rider was parked nearby. The rooms are spacious, the bed comfy. Breakfast was available early (5:00 am), which I appreciated. Others have noted the property as old and it is, but well maintained and very clean.

    « Weeding stay »

We were in Clarkston for my daughters wedding and had numerous family members stay there as well. The staff was incredible and was able to work out all the cancellations, moving folks around and catering to our needs and changes. We could not have been happier with the price, surroundings and staff. We stay in numerous hotels over a given year, from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston and Portland, but you will find a no better staff anywhere. For the price an GREAT deal!

    « Bitter Suite »

This is a dingy little place that is oversold on the Best Western website and is overpriced. The staff is nice and earnest (three cheers for Bill the super-friendly maintenance man who went out of his way to say hi to the kids and open the pool early!) but the product itself is not worth the price and is not up to the standards you might expect from Best Western generally. Most especially, do not be tempted by the lure of "suites" which are billed as "unique loft rooms" suitable for families. These are priced virtually the same as other suites in normal hotels in town and in neighboring Lewiston, but they are not what they sound like. The "loft" is a cramped, treacherous and rarely cleaned little shelf with no room to stand up unless you're four years old and small for your age. It is reached by a narrow and steep spiral staircase of black steel, which greets you the moment you open the door to the room (the staff has helpfully placed pipe insulation tubes around the edges so you won't crack your skull on it when you walk in unawares). This all seems like it was shoehorned together as a sorry attempt to sell these rooms as suites suitable for families, and it is priced as if it might be a legitimate "suite." It is not. It is a jungle gym with a double bed on top. Small kids may get a kick out of it, but Mom and Dad's value-o-meter will definitely not. This is essentially a substandard motel not unlike any rundown Motel 6 or the like. The walls are paper thin so the sound of the neighboring guests' TV and resultant guffaws kept us up late. There is very little water pressure in the shower, thanks to one of those cheap low-flow shower heads that scream "we care more about our bottom line than your comfort." The sliding glass door in our second-story "suite" opened onto a common exterior walkway that is a busy thoroughfare around the interior courtyard and pool area, so you can't open your curtains lest you become a zoo exhibit for the staff and other guests, one of whom actually stopped and watched us unpack for a moment. The breakfast room is so small that it was shoulder-to-shoulder with noisy people at 8:00 o'clock in the morning, and our family of four had nowhere to sit and eat (To its credit the staff reluctantly allowed us to tote our plates out to the pool deck). When I checked out, the caring clerk asked what they could have done to improve the stay, and I honestly told them that there was nothing they could have done. The facility is just not up to what I had expected from Best Western and as a result I'll be very wary of booking at another Best Western hotel without careful Investigation, because now I don't trust the website to give me a realistic portrait of what I'll be getting for $115 a night.

« Best Western in Clarkston, WA »

Clean but dated. Excellent staff and breakfast. Older style motel. Only two floors. TV has older style. Overpriced considering other hotels available in the area. Good to better in rating. Pool, fitness center, and internet available.

    « Very impressive! »

This is probably the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. Very nice personnel, clean and comfortable rooms and very convenient to everything we wanted to do. The breakfast was very good too. All-in-all, will stay there again if we are back in that area.

« Very good value and biker friendly. »

Have stayed in area several times before and this was the first time at this motel. This is one of the better places to stay. Is within walking distance of restaurants and a convenience store. Pool area was good and had a decent provided breakfast. Has a bike washing station.

    « Clean, Friendly, Quiet »

Very glad there were no available rooms with two beds at the "better" hotel in Clarkston. Our room was SUPER clean, and the bed was comfortable. The layout of the room with a third bed in a loft area would be great for families. I could picture my granddaughters fighting over who would sleep upstairs if they stayed here. Free in room wifi had a better signal than what I've had in many higher end hotels. Free breakfast is quite ample and had a good selection, biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles with blueberries, oatmeal, and cold cereal options for those who want it. All the staff were very friendly...even the maintenance staff said hi and wished us a good day. Next time I'll make sure I bring a swimsuit so I can try out the hot tub. Suggestion for the management, go green. we hung up our towels expecting to reuse them the next day...all our towels were replaced with fresh when the room was serviced.

« Not up to what I expect from a Best Western »

Had a double queen room near the pool, the area was reasonably quiet. The room was clean, but had a musty, mildewy smell. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. It was a cool evening, so we had the heat on for a few minutes, it cycled off, and during the night it came on again and the smell coming out of the unit was awful - rancid, mildewy... ugh.... I turned off the heat and fan, but the smell lingered for hours. Also don't appreciate being able to hear the guy in the room above peeing in the toilet. I was disappointed that we paid almost $130 to stay here. We did not eat at the hotel, so I can't speak to that.

« Peaceful, relaxing, friendly, priced reasonably »

We have used the Best Western River Tree (Clarkston, Wa) about six times now (past four years) in our trips from Boise, Idaho to northern Idaho. We find this Hotel as the best in all categories between our destinations in the north and our home in Boise. Friendly, clean, pet friendly (out little dog loved the fenced area off of the room to stretch and play), great coffee, great rooms, great Continental breakfast. Cleanness overall, from the parking lot to the interior pool & hot-tub & fitness areas is exceptional. We learned of this Best Western through friends who travel our same route several times a year. Pricing of the stay, plus the pet fee, is quite reasonable. So, far, we have yet to find any other hotel/motel from Boise to the Canadian border as pleasant and relaxing. Thank you Best Western - River Tree in Clarkston, Wa.

« Very nice place to stay »

The people here were very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again if in this area. Outdoor rooms, pool, hot tub, pizza place next door, Chinese place that delivers. On Main Street, nice breakfast with hot and cold food, super to deal with.

« Clean, quiet, a bit cramped -- GREAT hot tub »

This was a stopover stay for us on our way elsewhere, but it was better than expected. The room was crowded, but the was comfortable seating, and it was immaculate in cleanliness. We travel with two small dogs, and they have a quirky requirement to take them to and from the rooms via a gated gravel walkway and we had trouble with the gates' locks, but it was nice to be able to let the dogs out into the area from the room'so sliding glass door. It was generous of them to give each dog a gift bag with pick up bags, milk bones and a toy. The surrounding area was walkable, but the neighborhood was a bit run down though not scary. The location was a convenient drive to the city'so amenities.

« Stayed here multiple times »

My group has stayed here multiple time. It's a great place for us to connect, especially around the pool during the Summer. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are quite comfortable. It's very centrally located and the desk staff has always been helpful in providing recommendations for places to eat and drink around town. The breakfast has also improved over the last couple years and we have actually opted to skip our normal breakfast spot a couple of times to take in the breakfast served by the Rivertree Inn. I can't wait to come back again this Summer!

    « Just like family »

We have stayed here several times and intend to continue coming here when we need a hotel in this area. They have one of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever met. The breakfast was good and the rooms are exceptionally clean. I love the fact that they accept animals and do have several "dog" rooms with a sliding door leading out to a penned area for your pet. Also they give you a bag with treats, a toy, and puppy poopy bags in it. Really a nice gift to the puppy with you.

    « unique rooms »

This location is definitely creative in condensing space. The room layouts would not be suitable for tall people or the handicap on the second floor. It was clear that the staff was very hard working, cooperative, and good at multitasking

We stayed in a room with 3 queen beds and loved it!!! The layout of the room was unique and roomy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. They had an awesome continental breakfast with a gluten free option (not something we used) for those that needed it. They also had fresh strawberries and blue berries for the waffles as well as whipped cream.

« All the amenities for a reasonable price »

When we first drove up the area was a little sketchy but we were pleasantly surprised. The layout is unique and if it was summer would have been even better the sliding door goes right to the pool. The hotel had all the little amenities higher end hotels do, makeup wipes, nice shampoo ect. but without the price. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful with tourist attractions and the continental breakfast was also very good.

    « Very best »

We always stay here. They have done a lot of up grading. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable, beds especially. Breakfast is outstanding. Great internet connection. We highly recommend staying here.

« Our second stay worse then the first! »

We had stayed here a couple of years ago and thought it fine enough to use again. For some reason our key cards were a problem, the wifi didn't work well even when I hard lined my laptop I still had problems with the connection. We found a urine soaked wash rag neatly folded on the shelf under the others as we were packing to leave and the breakfast was lacking half the choices and made my tummy upset. What the hell happened? I used to recommend this site... not so much any more.

Excellent room and the workers are wonderful. Friendly and always there to help you if you need it. Breakfast was very robust and enjoyable. Something for everyone. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Love the pet rooms with a kennel attached so your pet can go out after being in the car and riding for a distance. Also, pets get a gift sack with little treats, a small toy, and "poopy bags" for their masters:)

    « Plesant »

Really like this hotel and its staff. Clean, friendly place to stay. Staff is so helpful and always good humored and happy to be of assistance to you. Great place to stay. The breakfast has a wide variety of food, and is kept fresh. They do allow animals, which I appreciate since I have a service animal that goes with me everywhere. The staff give the dog a doggie bag with treats and a toy in it as well as "poopy bags" for the humans:) You won't go wrong staying here.

    « Pleasing surprise »

The wife and I decided to head to Moscow for a University of Idaho basketball game and motel prices had been jacked up for a WSU football game. We were really surprised to find a room less than 30 miles away for such a reasonable price. The motel was clean, room was very nice and had a small couch and chair. The breakfast area is a little small but they had a full breakfast.

« Business trip to Clarkston »

Best Western has been a reliable "brand" for us on business trips, and this time was no exception! While the "curb appeal" wasn't sexy, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful (Bo Jack's Grill was amazing!!) and the room was roomy, clean, and as nice as any other BW property. Breakfast (included) was above par: eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit (strawberries and blueberries, too) in a cozy room with NO blaring TV!!! We'll be back!

« Thanks for the great stay »

As always enjoyed the stay at your hotel. Really appreciate the new security updates. Staff and management were very helpful. Will stay there again. Always happy with Best Western hotels/motels. Thank you

    « Best Western Clarkston »

Easy access from freeway to hotel. On major street with many restaurants in the area. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in months. Clean, modern, great staff, breakfast awesome. Quiet We did not use the pool due to time, but it appeared clean. Really liked the jacuzzie bathtub!!!!

    « Nice Motel »

This motel is centrally located to restaurants and other businesses in the Clarkston and Lewiston area, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The staff is very freiendly and helpful, rooms are clean, and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is also the best we have seen in the area for the prcie of the rooms. I would definitely recomend this motel.

    « Very nice motel »

Staff were welcoming and friendly. They allowed me an early check-in and even went out of their way to get the room ready. It was an odd layout for a motel - had to negotiate different pathways, but once in the room it was no problem. And my room had a sliding glass door that allowed me immediate access to my vehicle. Room was clean if not a bit small.

    « Very nice »

We arrived in town with no reservation not knowing there was a football game that night. The first place we went in Lewiston was full so we decided to try across the river in Clarkston. A couple who we were travelling with had stayed at the Best Western there and knew where it was. There was only two rooms left and they were suites. The gal at the front desk gave us a nice discount and we were very happy. The rooms where very spacious and very nice. The breakfast the next morning was really good also. Although the space was small the food was better than some I have gotten at newer fancier Best Westerns.

    « Happy »

This motel is very motorcycle friendly and offers an excellent breakfast to start your day. The rooms are clean and well maintained. My choice when traveling. The Pizza and pasta place next door is good but not fine dining.

« Great room and service »

This was a great room and the service was very good. Nice and clean, we enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Our room faced the pool and had a small table available to sit right outside the sliding door of our room. Breakfast was great. Had biscuits and gravy, scrambled as well as boiled eggs, fruit, pasties, waffles etc. Great little spot. Pizza place right next door if you don't want to drive or walk much.
