Best Western Plus Hotel Stadtpalais

Not accustomed to the bed spread, I am tall and the covers weren't long enough to my height. The layout of the room was small but comfortable. Cleanliness of the room was very good. We were not in the room much only to sleep in

We accidently pulled into the garage for Best Western City Hotel. They let us into the garage and when we went to the reception they told us that we were at the wrong BW but since the other was closed they had changed our booking to the BW City Hotel. So it was fortunate that we went to the wrong parking garage. Not sure if we ended up paying for a room/hotel of lesser value. The City Hotel is smaller and was still relatively empty so it makes sense that they closed the larger hotel.

I stayed at the BW for three nights. The hotel is conveniently located on the southern end of the city centre, with lots of shops and restaurants close by. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, spacious. You can tell from the bathroom that the building itself is a bit older that it appears at first, yet that is not an issue. The breakfast, as other mentioned already, is quite nice. Not too much but what they have is of really good quality. The hotel offers free entrance to a good gym a block away. nice extra.

Stayed a couple of nights while visiting the Christmas Market. I really liked this hotel from the moment I entered. It is furnished in period style fitting well with Braunscweig's Heritage listing. It's colourful, bright and tastefully decorated for the Christmas period. My single room was located on the ground floor, also tastefully decorated, decent size for a single, large bathroom, big TV screen on the wall, tea/coffee facilities, good sized safe, bathroom products, ok wifi in the room. It was comfortable and warm. My only problem was with it's actual location. Being close to the lift and rear car park entrance it was busy and easy to hear other guests in the hall. However, I had no problems sleeping (fortunately). Buffet breakfast was included in my package. The restaurant again in period style was nice and cozy. There was quite an extensive Continental display with a small selection of hot dishes. Everything I tried was tasty. Beware, the small stuffed red things are NOT cherry tomatoes, they are chilies! The staff were excellent and helpful. If you are arriving by train, the number 5 tram or 429 bus will deliver you close to the hotel. Would recommend this place. For anyone who is interested the Christmas Market is excellent, especially at night. Try to avoid weekends.

Hotel in the city center, good accomodation. In hotel s not a restaurant, only little bar, but breakfests are good. Only one bad thing - not too many parking places for guest cars. In hotel is smoking room, good airconditioned!

I stayed 2 months here with work. The rooms are a bit small for a 4 stars hotel and are not good isolated. You can simply hear everything in the hallway or the other people from other rooms speaking on their phone... I, by myself was also denounced that i listen music to loud... and i was listening Bob Marley at my laptop volume 20%.... They called me from reception and even came at my door to tell me to switch off the music. Besides the fact that this hotel is central, in my opinion it is simply a maximum 2,5-3 stars hotel. Not at all 4 as they write on towels and so on... The shower cabin is not good isolated and water gets everywhere even with doors closed. The internet connection is very slow (but i had worse, in other hotels in Braunschweig, so i think it is a general thing in Deutschland). The receptionists are almost all the same (example of good one is the man african-american - no i am not racist and I personally pay all the respect to him. he washes all the clothes and works a lot on all the shifts.). Everybody else are not so ok. Especially the blonde skinny lady with long nails and Botox and so on. The barbie does nothing all the time, on her shift she even disappears from reception from time to time for a long time... aaand lost a train connection to airport because of her (she put me to wait until she receives a mail from my company despite the fact that all the booking details were already confirmed and also the payment details....) The breakfast is ok. Just ok. not a huge variety. after a few days you get used to it and dislike it. But the ladies which serve you are very very kind and provide one of the best service here around. The hotel is central. But does not worth half the price you pay for one room.

A little bit stuck in the 80s (fornitures, moquette, hallways etc) First of all we found a copy of the BIBLE next to the bed.. and guys: we are in 2018. Really? Our floor/room had a really strong smell of smoke and that's not good in 2018. The staff was really kind. Breakfast was okay, nothing special: I'd suggest to improve the salty-part serving good ham, good cheese and not the super market-version.

Stayed one night for a short weekendbreak. Citycenter is within 5 minute walk, as most touristlocations, and tramstation is accros the street. There is free parking but places are restricted. Staff was friendly and efficiënt. Room was spacious and with everything you need, including coffee and tea, but no fridge. Had the room accros the stairs, so in the evening you might hear a guest arrive but at night its quiet; slept perfectly. Also the street outside is quiet. Bathroom was ok, but could use a little upgrading. Space was perfect. Free WiFi thru the whole building was stable and fast. The rewardsmember give aways were highly appriciated. The breakfastbuffet in the morning was perfect with lots of different options, there is something for everyone. The offerde fish-items reminded me of the noerwegian breakfastbuffets and were very tasty. For a visit to Braunschweig, business or vacation, I would surely recommend this hotel

We stayed there during AgriTechnica, a huge tradeshow in Hannover. The room prices in yhe whole region goes way up ay that time. We paid 190€ per night. It should be 70-80€ compared to our hotels elsewhere in Germany. Room was clean. Parking was free. Breakfast was included and ok - except for all the fruitflies. It was simple to get to the train station -10 minute 2.50 euro tram ride.

I stayed for 5 days. The 'free' wifi was completely down the first two days. The rest of the days it was on on and off. Gym was out-of-order. How can a gym be out-of-order??? Front door needed maitenance. Staff needed to open the door manually. Breakfast: ok, but they missed the concept of cold drinks. The juice was 22 degrees (celcius). Bacon was boiled instead of fried. The room was nice. Strange sounds from the AC though. Conclusion: Book another hotel.

My friend and I stayed only 1 night in this hotel, but it was very enjoyable. We arrived at night and the hotel is on a corner.The office attendant came out and parked the car for us! The beer was good and the bar was full of friendly people. The room was dated, but clean, and the next morning breakfast was good.

In the centre of Braunschweig, 5 min walk from the old city, Stadtpalais hotel is a cosy and convenient place to stay. Rooms are large and well furnished, hotel has a parking, breakfast is generous (buffet style) and excellent quality. The only weak point is the poor wifi option proposed by the hotel, with ridiculous slow speed that with end-up with your patience. All in all, a recommendable hotel. Staff friendly too.

The hotel is very clean and nice. It reminds me of a boutique hotel. We were upgraded to the junior suite, as a diamond member, and the room is lovely! I peeked in a few of the rooms as we walked by and they are also very nice with hardwood floors. Staff is pleasant, free wifi and breakfast. There is a small parking lot, so if you arrive late, you may be out of luck. Highly recommend.

It's my first time to stay at this hotel. The location is great for you to go shopping and take tram. The room is comfortable despite of it's a little bit smaller than my expaction. Breakfast is fruitful but it's same everyday.

It is a very comfortable, functional and quite hotel in a nice building, well located for visiting the nice and historical city of Braunschweig. Rooms are wide and quite well distributed, with wardrobe, TV, free wifi and table for working. The bath is also wide, complet in dotation and very, very clean. Breakfast buffet is fantastic and again in a wide and open space with natural light and a big selection of meal and newspapers. There is no restaurant inside but near the hotel. Prices are very valuable related to the quality of the hotel. A good choice. I will be back.

The hotel was very clean, quiet, welcoming staff, good service, comfort beds, very centrally located, with parking, rich breakfast. the room was not too big, but nicely decorated and well equipped. (there was no bath in the bathroom, just a shower) shopping areas nearby, great selection of restaurants around, tourist attraction within walking distance who could ask for more ?

Good value for your money in high Best Western Hotels level. Clean and good equiped room. Rich and nice breakfast. Professional staff everywhere. Hotel is in total centre of Brunschweig. Parking inside possible

Stayed for one night only, got a nice room, breakfast was great as well. The location is great ... all within walking distance. Only that the service at late hours even to get a beer can be improved ... tap beer doesn't really work ... receiving your change tricky as they don't have change. Any other than that ... decent place to stay.

Central, old but clean and tidy One space left in car park, which was tricky to access and needed keys left at reception. informed that it was to be kept free for emergency only to discover another car parked there when I returned from the local park house.

Great accommodations; clean, comfortable room. Great location in heart of Braunschweig/Brunswick, Lower Saxony, Germany. Friendly, helpful staff. Very nice breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

Staff at reception quite useless. The morning receptionist speaks english, but doesn't want to help... the afternoon one wants to help, but only speaks german... After a full week there we were treated like strangers... Staff at breakfast service quit better, and smiling... Despite booking 6 week before arrival, we were given a second class room, ground floor on busdy street, and smelling bad. As we have a baby, we just refused it and we were 'upgraded' to the second floor, in a room without real window... Service is almost non-existant: no minibar, nothing but toweels and cheap liquid soap in the bathroom... coffe, tea, iron and iron board, cooton tiges, facial tissues, soap, available at the reception, if you are lucky... How can an hotel pretend to be a four star hotel without staff.service? This been said, the location is very good and the outdoor parking seems to be safe.

The hotel is located near the shopping centre and in the middle of the city. Perfect location. It looks good with nice furniture in the lobby. The rooms are not really big, but ok. Unfortunately as soon as you enter the room, you are overwhelmed with a sigarette smell. I have been a smoker for many years and quit for 2 years now, but it really stinked! Of course I asked for a upgrade, that was possible for €180,-. A bit overpriced! As soon as I start threatening with leaving my room to a different hotel, the clerk noticed I was serious. He tried a little bit harder, but did not find me another room. If I'd left, I still have to pay 90% of the room. The breakfast was very good. Parking was a disaster, I had to park my car in a garage 10 minutes away by feet from the hotel. I always arrive late. Conclusion: Nice hotel, horrible smell in the room, moderate service.
