    « Door Slammer Inn »

But for not the wonderful staff I would have given this hotel an even lower rating. The hotel is clean, breakfast is fine, parking great, and you can access most of Boise from I-84 in minutes. The problem is the plethora of unaware door slammers. The doors are heavy and slam all hours of the night and day. I feel staff could inform guests of the room door slamming, especially after 22:00, and remind late check-ins there are other guests sleeping. If you are expecting a nice, quiet, restful sleep, this is NOT the place!

    « Great surprise »

Stayed here for two nights and hotel was clean and very nice. The lobby folks were phenomenal and kitchen staff equally nice and very helpful. It's away from everything but that's alright, only 10 minutes from the airport, quiet out there. Beds very very comfy and bedrooms were clean. I will stay here again when I am back in Boise.

« Quick Trip to Boise »

Made quick trip to Boise to visit friends. Hotel was affordable & conveniently located. Only down side we had a broken lamp, which hotel staff couldn't fix but offered another service instead. (Hey these things happen.) staff had to reissue keys because keys were demagnetizes theroughnout the day. Overall nice place to stay & at good peice

    « Pleasant stay »

The BW Northwest Lodge is a very pleasant hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in early November. The front desk stay were very accommodating and helpful in many ways. The breakfast is about the same was it is at other Best Westerns we have visited. The housekeeping left a little to be desired, but the front desk was very attentive to our complaints. The beds were comfortable, though a little soft for our tastes. The them is rustic and quite appealing.

« Very Nice and Newish Best Western »

The Northwest Lodge, on the eastern boundaries of Boise, is a very nice hotel, especially for a Best Western. The exterior is rustic, and that same theme continues into the lobby. The two times that I have stayed there, the rooms have been very clean and the beds comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful in finding me a nice restaurant, and overall very pleasant. While summer rates are higher, I was just looking as I have to go to Boise again, and the room rates (for one person) were in the low $80's/night, plus tax--don't let that rate fool you, because in the summer the rates were $120-$140 range, so $80-85/night off-season is a bargain for a place this nice. If you are headed to Boise, and want a nice, clean room at a newer hotel, I would encourage you to check out the Northwest Lodge!

    « 24 Hours »

This Best Western is outstanding. I enjoyed the fact that the pool/jacuzzi and gym (albeit small) are open 24 hours. Want a swim @ 02:00 ... No problem. The breakfast served here also was a cut above. Better than most "free breakfast". Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good value. I'll stay here again.

    « A very nice Best Western »

We were looking for a hotel on the east side of Boise so we could continue our journey early the next day and this Best Western fit the bill. It was clean, had a friendly, helpful staff. The early opening of the breakfast area is nice for travelers who want to get an early start on the road.

    « Great! »

This place is Awesome!!!! We passed it on the way in and ended up coming back to it. Great staff - clean property. Room layout is good bathroom a bit small but clean up to date and functional. Food / beverage and grocery in walking distance. The hotel sells adult beverages on site. Great lodge atmosphere with lots of truck parking

« On east side of Boise near Gowen AFB »

The rooms and the hotel and very nice. We were concerned that it might be noisy because of the AFB, but we never heard any planes. We did drive past the hotel because the signage is not very good on the road we used to approach it. It is behind the Jack in the Box restaurant. The breakfast was good--better than the average BW fare. There is an elevator for the upper floors. Quiet even though the hotel was quite full.

« Excellent Service And Amenities »

Very clean, nice looking, very good service, excellent continental breakfast. My only complaint was that the decaf coffee was not changed and kept fresh, it was left in the serving thermos for over 24 hours so I was disappointed when I went to have coffee. I have no other complaints and would definitely stay there again. It is in a great location. The staff were all very helpful and courteous.

« Another better than average Best Western Plus ! »

I was looking for a place to stay a little closer to downtown, but balancing price and location, we settled for the Best Western Northwestern. The advantage to being close to downtown is not having to hassle with parking, although often there is an added charge for that ?. In the end, it worked out anyways because we ended up at a great mcrobrewery which we would have otherwise missed. The Northwestern is really well decorated and if you don't look outside, you'd think you were in a lodge somewhere ! There is a cute fish pond out front (they say you can even feed the fish !). The chair rails in all the hallways, which look to be lodgepole pine ? very lodgey ! The lobby also hosts hot beverages all day and at 8pm ? milk and cookies ! Although there is no bar, the front desk does have beer and wine available for purchase. The room is comfortable with two queen sized beds and minifridge and coffee machine. I can't remember if there is a microwave, but there is one available in the breakfast area, along with plates and cutlery. Breakfast was the usual filling spread ? eggs scrambled/hard boiled; sausages; diced potatoes; pastries; cereals/oatmeal; waffles; yogurt/toppings; apples/bananas/oranges and all of the condiments and hot beverages. Very nice hotel with a nice ambience.

« Home away from home »

Great lodge decor with a two sided fireplace in the lobby and comfortable couches to relax in. Just like a home away from home! Clean and updated slate flooring throughout. Breakfast bar includes scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes,,,nice selection of coffees always ready. We will go back and stay when visiting Boise. Not far from airport, but a much better location for extended stays.

    « Great Hotel »

Northwest Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. It's quiet, clean and you get good service. The location is ideal. Easy to get to and close to the freeway. My husband is disabled and they always give us a room that we request. The staff is top notch.

« Great staff and good value »

I have been staying at this hotel for a number of years and I am consistently impressed with the helpful staff and overall quality. I stay at many other hotels and this is one of my favorites. It is very convenient for my work in the area and a pretty easy drive to downtown or area restaurants.

« Be careful. Doors to not close well. »

We stayed for two nights. Upon arriving it took a long time to check in as the hotel was understaffed. The desk agent was bright and knowledgeable and helpful. My partner could not get into her room even after three sets of rekeying the card. ended u giving her a second floor room. My 1st ADA room; the bathroom was locked and the housekeeper came in with a flat screwdriver to get it open. (??) didn't work. Second ADA room wreaked of cigarette smoke in a non smoking room. 3rd room. The doors do not close well. Make sure you pull it hard and that it is locked when going in and out. Be sure to use deadbolt and latch over when inside the room. Jets in both the tub and the pool were broken so either over jetted or under-jetted. Breakfast was blah yet better than no breakfast. No spoons the second day.

    « Visiting Boise »

We chose B.W. Northwest Lodge while on a vacation stop at Boise. This hotel is beautiful inside looking like a lodge you would find up in a forest not in town. The rooms and hotel were spotless and the rooms spacious. Using B.W. pts for our stay we were upgraded to a spa room which was great after a day of driving and doing the tourist thing in Boise. Our only complaint is that unless you want a fast food burger you have to drive to get restaurant food in which there are none close by. Also Boise is quite a ways from this location. If this doesn't bother you then this is the place for you. w.pts for our stay we were upgraded to a spa room

« Two-Star Hotel Masquerading as Three Star »

I booked this hotel because it seemed like a good value. It was the most economic three-star hotel in the Boise area. After staying there, I understand why. The exterior lodge appearance is the most attractive feature about this hotel. The interior decor is tired and dated. The room and the hotel overall was clean, but that's the extent of the positive qualities. Our bed was sagging and uncomfortable. The breakfast was uninspired and limited, not at all up to par for a supposed three-star hotel. The hotel is close to the airport, but it's about a 20-minute drive from downtown Boise. My wife and I stayed at a 2.5-star hotel later in our trip that was superior in every aspect to this hotel. Overall, this hotel was a poor value, and I would recommend passing on the Northwest Lodge and choosing another hotel.

« Reasonably OK for a night halt when crossing Boise »

Good location. Reasonable place to stay if you have to spend a night in Town. Breakfast limited choice. The town itself is also good and has a few places to go around and shop. The town has quite a few good places to eat.

« Nice place; poor customer service »

Overcharged for the room. Was told manager would call me and resolve this but have not heard back from anyone. Very disappointed in their level of customer service. Be aware of everything before you commit to staying here. Breakfast was just o.k.

    « Go Cougs »

Very nice staff. Printed out driving directions for us! Pillows were too fat but no big deal! We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel but had a very nice stay. Would have like fresh fruit for breakfast but the coffee was delicious! Parking was a little tight when we got back to the room fairly late.

    « Hotel »

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, would stop here again. Rooms are very clean, great breakfast included. Convenient location. Asked directions for some place in town, given good directions and map on how to get there. Staff very helpful.

« Just What You Hope For »

How's the family we had five separate rooms. Each room was well-appointed clean and exactly what we wanted. The staff was helpful in every way. For us the location was ideal. As for breakfast, well it was breakfast. Coffee was good.

« excellent budget friendly stay »

This hotel is clean, in good repair and has good amenities. Most of the time the staff is friendly and very helpful. It is my new go to place to stay in Boise, I really like that the pool is open 24 hours as that is my main form of exercise. It is very convenient to both I-84 and East/SouthEast Boise

Beautiful lodging, great rooms, clean, nice customer service. definetly my favorite property when visiting Idaho, consider no other brands, this is the place to stay. 24 hour pool and hot tub and wine hour!!

« Nice acomadations, great service »

Great Staff, very helpful, rooms could be updated a little but the breakfast was awesome and the price we well below comparable hotels in the area. Convenient location, just off the freeway but minimal noise, close to the airpoet. Very helpful staff, we will stay there again!

« Wonderful hotel in lovely setting »

I would highly recommend this venue if you are traveling in the Boise area. Pet friendly was important to me and all services were of excellent quality. Lovely decor and helpful staff! Did not use the pool, but others were having a good time in it.

    « Great service »

I had booked this hotel for just 1 night. Since we made changes in our trip we arrived a day early and wanted to stay for an extra night. Not any problem, we got the room an extra night at the same rate I booked it for. Unfortunately the toilet in our bathroom didn't flush. So after a couple of hours, we had to move to another room. I don't know if the hotel was fully booked, but we got a room in a family suite including a hot-tub. Wow.... The breakfast room in front of the frontdesk, not so big, so crowded in the morning. You have to be lucky to find your seat. And although the interieur looked old and dated it was a nice place to be. Friendly staff and great service.

    « Great »

This place was decorated just as a Lodge Should be decorated. Beautiful decor. The staff so helpful and they had cookie and milk at night. Our room was clean and again had an old lodge look. Indoor hot tub and pool. Really nothing but good things to say about this place

« End of the trail. »

Travelled from Boston to Boise in 5 days. This was hotel was the best stay of all our stops 3 days of stay and it was super! Clean rooms. Great breakfast ! The lobby was a good place to sit and eat. Super coffee! Staff were exceptionally friendly Easy access off highway 84 . Highly recommend !

    « Great stay! »

This place was great, starting with the front desk guy (Colton). He was very nice and friendly. Our room was nice and clean, the pool was nice and warm, but the topper for me was the milk and cookies served between 8-9 pm. After a long day at the Boise Zoo, it was nice to come back to a tasty treat. Also, the breakfast was pretty good too. It was your typical breakfast, but it was kept up well and had potatoes, which you don't typically see. Not to mention, the waffle iron stamps a heart in your waffle. Super cute. Over all it was a great hotel. Nothing creepy or weird here. I would stay here again and again.

    « Best hotel ever! »

This place is awesome! When we arrived we were greeted by Colton, he was friendly and quick to check us in. Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool was warm and only 3-4ft deep, perfect for families with little kids. Breakfast was satisfying. Milk and cookie was definitely the highlight for our family, delicious! I would highly recommend this hotel, it's the only place we will be staying while in pass through Boise. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it!

    « Nice Hotel »

I loved the unique look and feel of this Best Western lodge. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find the lodge was much better than we expected. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the milk and cookies they had in the evening in the lobby. The pool is quite small, but is open 24 hours- which is nice for traveling families. We stayed one night as we were passing through town. We will book here again on our way back through. Best Western has a good rewards program too that you can sign up for on their website.

    « Very Average »

I stayed here for about a week on business. It's a very average hotel, no-frills but no real problems either. I had a king room facing the freeway which made opening the window at night too noisy. It was clean and convenient for business with a desk and plenty of plug-ins for electronics. The room had a mini fridge and should have had a microwave but it did not - that is my only complaint really. Breakfast in the morning is adequate - typical hotel buffet breakfast but a wide variety and the buffet was kept clean. Very busy though, I seldom could find a table to sit at. The pool is shallow but nice and warm and is available 24 hrs. I really didn't have much interaction with the staff because I had no problems. Nicely decorated and the room had a great TV.

    « As always »

Can't say enough good things for Best Western hotels!!!! The room was very clean with all the amenities you would need . Easy to get to right off of 84 .Thank you !!! For another good night sleep and great breakfast !!!! Biscuits and gravy sausage and eggs and waffles what more could you ask for ????

    « Greatest breakfast ever! »

Fantastic breakfast and comfortable beds and efficient, friendly staff. the pool and hot tub are lovely and the fitness center is certainly adequate. I appreciated the availability of the computer and printer in the lobby. What more could you want.

    « Mold in bathroom »

Beautiful hotel except there was mold on the wall in bathroom, evening staff was not available, ice machines all broken, tv remote difficult to use, wall thermostat confusing. Not enough milk and cookies as promised.

    « excellent family room »

We chose this hotel for location near the freeway and a tiny bit out of Boise, and the fact we could get a family room for our group of five. The family room was great - large, with three real beds and two separate areas of sink and counter The décor of the public areas is particularly well done, and the breakfast was very good.. We will return.

« Perfect Location and Comfortable Quiet Room »

One night without fanfare. The top floor room was quiet, the bedding comfortable, plenty of hot water and a good breakfast with hot and cold items. Freeway access was easy on and off and check in checkout was straight forward. The internet was somewhat intermittent, working fine one minute then not. The bathroom lacked Kleenex too.

« Lovely lodge style hotel on the edge of the city »

Good hotel with spacious room a little noisy as we like to have the window open and the air conditioners are quite loud- but traffic dies down by the average adult bed time so we didn't find this an issue. Best westerns don't seem to have Insite restaurants but there are good services very close. We have found the best western hotels good value and nice friendly service. Traveling on motor bikes and they let you park under cover at the entrance to the hotels so they can keep an eye on the bikes.

    « Boise Hotel »

for a one night stay this was a safe place though not right next to airport as I thought it wasn't far but nothing to eat around this hotel! The front office Emily was wonderful! Though the printer didn't work at the desk she printed it on her printer.

    « Best Western Northwest »

After a 2 week vacation on the road we made this our last stop. While it was difficult to locate, we found it very worth it. Found the understaffed employees to be exceptional. We had 2 minor issues with a TV and room lock. They corrected those issues quickley. The roam was clean and comfortable. For a roadside stop, it was by far the best in many years of travel. They are on our return list if passing again. Breakfast avg+ for a hotel.

    « Good »

The rooms aren't as big as other Best Westerns we've stayed at, but it was nice. jfdaowjreoirewohjrkamlasdjodsyiowldshoiyxcuihyeknrlaoipm oewrlafdouaorejajdsojhoajlwenrofasufohrekheoiyfdiohnklwjohNLFDSM jworhjeoln

« Okay for the price, but nothing to write home about »

The exterior is very nice & the location is convenient to the highway, grocery store & a small factory outlet center. However the interior decor' feels outdated, the hallways narrow & dark, and the rooms were just average. The hot breakfast items were in fact lukewarm and the scrambled eggs very watery. We left most of that and settled on cereal & pastry - not my usual choice to start the day. I had a concern at check-in which a very polite & professional young man at the desk was not able to address & therefore handed the matter over to his supervisor. She was curt, bordering on rude, unfriendly & dismissive of my concerns.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

I made the reservation through and got a very competitive price. The desk person was very warm and friendly, and got me checked in quickly. The room was a fairly standard double queen. It was clean, but the bed mattresses seemed past their prime and ready for replacement. The included breakfast was pretty standard; nothing special, but we had no complaints. As the name suggests, the hotel is decorated in a lodge theme, which in some places looks a little tired and ready for a freshening. Overall, it was a positive experience.

« Nice place to stay »

It is on the south end of Boise with only a couple fast food restaurants in the area. But, a nice location to get on and off the interstate quickly. Pool was a good temperature, but it was tiny with the four other families using it. The hot tub was nice (pull out the red button for the jets). Breakfast was very good, and my daughter got to feed the fish. Only real disappointment was looking up in the bathroom and seeing mildew on the ceiling.

    « The Best!! »

We choose Northwest Lodge when we visit Boise because it is our favorite Best Western Lodging. The personnel is always very helpful and accommodating. We also feel that Tori is the BEST GM we have met.

« Best hotel stay ever, will never stay anywhere else in the area! »

From the minute we arrived, we were blessed with the most friendly, helpful staff. We came in early and our room wasn't ready yet but Cristal offered to keep our luggage for us in a conference room so we wouldn't have to keep it in the back of our truck while sightseeing. Justin checked us in upon our return from our tour of beautiful Boise, and he was as friendly and helpful as Cristal. I love the lodge look to the lobby and rooms. The lobby, with it's logs, overstuffed suede couches and stone fireplace just invites you to hang out. They had cookies at 8pm and coffee available as well. The rooms are just as nice and I love that they have interior entrances. We had a family suite with 2 queens and a king bed. It was huge and so nice! They have an awesome indoor pool and spa and it is open 24 hours! Their breakfast was the best hotel breakfast of our whole 16 day trip. Lots of choices, fresh and hot, they really kept it clean and well stocked. It included eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. They also had the best hotel coffee I've had too. I loved that they offered a dark roast. Tori, the manager, was helping to work the breakfast area and also checked us out. We also got to meet Rose, the housekeeper for our room. Check out was as easy as checking in and everyone was just as friendly and helpful. It is refreshing to meet such wonderful people who take such pride in their work. It is hard to come across these days. This hotel and their wonderful staff embody what it means to be in the service industry! The Hotel is pretty centrally located, it was easy for us to get to both from the airport and downtown. If you are anywhere near this area and need a reasonably priced hotel you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't stay here! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. The hotel is great and their biggest asset is by far their exceptional staff. One of the best hotels stays I've ever had!

    « Excellent and worth a Stay! »

Wonderful guest rooms and hotel. We loved the rooms, fresh baked cookies and milk from 8-9 pm. Very comfortable and homey cabin decor. It felt like we were staying in a log cabin. Beautiful hotel and caring staff.

    « Our Go-To Boise Hotel »

We have stayed here often, as a good stopping point on a route we take frequently. It is mid-range, basic, but always clean, which are my deciding criteria. It also has the sink and long vanity outside the shower and toilet room, which helps when traveling with several family members who are all trying to get ready in the morning. When we checked in at 11 pm, the clerk was happy that we had a prior reservation through the hotel directly, as several people used Expedia and were falsely promised rooms when it was sold-out. I never use third party sites and get the best rates on my own.

« Best Wester Northwest Lodge »

It is beautiful driving up to it! Inside that big timber theme continues. Check is was a breeze, so profession - it's nice to work with someone that knows what they're doing. The room was spacious for us, clean and everything working. Took advantage of the pool this time. We were able to focus on visiting family, and brag about the room. Shopping center, bank, fast food, and two gas stations within walking. Real plus for us.

« Best Western in Boise »

Motorcycle friendly place. Good overall experience with extremely helpful staff. On the southern end of town, so no dealing with downtown rush hour traffic. Eay access the next morning to the back-roads heading North the next morning for an awesome ride to Missoula.

    « Excellent Best Western »

Everything was fantastic from the atmosphere being spacious and very pleasant, to each and every one of the staff that we encountered being genuinely friendly and helpful, to the pool, spa, and workout room being cleaned and accessible 24/7, to the delicious hot breakfast with plenty of room to enjoy it. We will definitely stay here when in Boise again.

    « Nice clean stay »

It was a nice clean hotel. Easy access to airport but not next to airport. Easy access to freeway. Good breakfast which made one less stop before my adventures. Laundry facilities. Nice décor. Met my needs.

« Good place for family »

the room was clean and cool on a hot day, it was quiet despite close proximity to the airport, the breakfast was delicious and the pool was a hit with the youngsters. I will definitely stay here if I am in the Boise area.

« Fantastic Hotel and Amenities »

The breakfast included anything you could want (waffles, yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, fantastic coffee, hot cereal, cold cereal, scrambled eggs, hot home fries, etc.) The hotel offered afternoon cookies and milk, snacks of apples or oranges which were available anytime, internet service and daily newspapers.

    « Not what I expected... »

I don't want to bash the hotel. But you guys really need to make sure 3rd party booking sites have full details for whats included in each room type. Very disappointing to request one thing and receive something COMPLETELY under standards/expectations.

    « One night stay »

We stayed here on the last night of our 2 week vacation. The hotel is very nicely appointed. Staff was very nice, both at check in and check out. Rooms were standard. The breakfast was pleasant. 9 of us on the road for 2 weeks, and a respite this was!

    « Uncomfortable »

nice decor pretty grounds ,check out the room before you decide to stay,we had a noisy room at the back of the hotel dog barked off and on not sure where the dog was, noisy toilet and refrigerator ,room smelled, mattress was bowed in the middle bad bad could not wait to leave our worst experience at a Best Western

    « completely satisfied »

from check in to departure this facility was very enjoyable, the staff was pleasant and helpful. Plenty to eat for breakfas and all issues were quickly handled by staff. The location made all of our outings easy and quick. For the price, this facility is well worth your consideration.

« Nice hotel, everything you need »

Lovely hotel and very clean which is always good. Rooms had all facilities required and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We found the location really good and easy to find straight off highway but was a bit of a distance to the town centre (probably 20 mins or so). Didn't stop us having a great time though

  • 3
    « Week long stay »

The staff was very friendly, good location right off the highway. If you are there for a long stay, get used to the breakfast because it is the exact same every day. Wear slippers in the rooms, the carpet is not very clean.

    « Relaxing Remote Location »

If you are looking for a place in the center of action and nightlife, this is not the place. The area around the hotel doesn't really have any restaurants or other places of interest. It is conveniently located to I-84 and on the far east side of Boise. However, the access is a little tricky as there's not access from the freeway side of the hotel and no sign for the hotel on the street where you turn in to the hotel. We drove past it the fist time as the GPS was not able to find the exact location. This property itself was quite nice and we enjoyed our stay there. The room was comfortable and very clean.

« Close to Airport Far From City Center »

I was really unhappy that we couldn't cancel our 3 day reservation after we viewed the hotel the day before. This hotel looks okay but it needs some upgrading. There are stains on the carpets and the furniture is worn and looks like it needs cleaning. The washer and dryer are on the 3rd floor next to an executive sweet who thought of that bright idea? And they are so old it takes 2 hours to dry a load of jeans. We were there 3 days 2 of those days breakfast was set out so early that it was cold by 7am and when it ran out it wasn't replaced immediately. The beds are hard and could use some padding.

    « Great hosts »

I have stayed with the Northwest Lodge, sometimes for an extended stay. I have always found this a clean, friendly place to stay. The staff, from housekeeping, front desk, and management at Northwest Lodge are what raises this motel to five stars in my eyes.

« Very relaxing place to stay »

This is one of the best Best Western Hotels I have stayed at. If in the Boise ID area, I would highly recommend this Hotel. They also sold bottles of wine at the lobby for just $9, and it was good tasking. What a great idea. Great pool and Jacuzzi.

    « Nice place »

Stayed here with 6 others on motorcycle trip through the area. Hotel seemed pretty new to me. It is pet friendly and we usually do not stay in pet friendly hotels but a friend made the reservation. When we came up the elevator we could hear a dog yapping and a guy was knocking on the door. He said the dog had been yapping all day and the owner had left. We could not hear it in our room and the room was clean. I would stay here again.

« Its about customer service »

Thank you to Emily she did a great job in handling a upset customer. I could tell she cared about her customer, she owned the problem and did what she could to make it right , she exceeded my expectations of what hotel should do for there customer. She did it all with confidence. Every hotel that i have stayed in has had some kind of problem. It how your staff handles it that makes us come back

Be careful about booking a room with them I was thinking of changing my reservation with them. We went in there to check it out today and I was thinking about cancelling when I got back to my room in Ontario, Oregon. It just didn't seem that great and is far from everything in an industrial area. I have never booked a room that I couldn't cancel the day before but Best Western's website says that I can't I'm really, really disappointed! I don't believe I will book with Best Western again, I think this is a BAD policy!!!!

    « Nothing Special »

This is not a poster-child of hotel for the BW group. It's old & needs a lot of TLC to bring back to BW standards. The staff was very nice, helpful. Room seem "old" yet very clean. Pool was so cloudy x 24 hrs. I could not see the bottom in the deep end(safety problem?). Breakfast area clean, good selection of Hot & Cold food.

« Nice lean rooms, well groomed landscape, friendly staff, pet friendly »

We stayed for one night for an event in Boise. Easy to find on Federal Way. We had pet dogs with us, but found we were on the 2nd floor, and preferred ground floor for pet access. Colton checked us in and re-arranged the reservation, and gave us an available room on the ground floor. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The motel was quite full, but yet was quiet. The complimentary breakfast was very good with many choices (hot and cold). In checking out, Crystal was very friendly and helpful with some questions I had. She is the kind of staff that makes you want to stay there again.

« I must have missed the good stuff... because this was bad. »

This is probably one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I checked in on May 30, and checked out June 4. If I hadn't prepaid through a third-party website (priceline), I would have demanded a refund and left the first night. Absolutely terrible. 1. We reserved a two queen bed guest room. Dresser was broken, several of the drawers did not work and the front wood fascia was missing in some areas. There were several huge cobwebs on the ceilings and windows. 2. There is a two-sided door sign placed in the room, one side printed, "Quiet Please." and the other side printed, "Please Clean." After our first night, we placed the door sign on our door the next morning with the, "Please Clean." sign clearly displayed. We returned late that evening and discovered the room was not cleaned and left untouched. We spoke to management and told them we would be stepping out again for a few hours and requested they clean the room in our absence, since they did not earlier. They agreed, but when we returned hours later, nothing had been cleaned. We were too tired to deal with it that night, complained to management AGAIN who gave a half-hearted excuse, gave us new towels, and said it would be done the next morning... Same thing the next day. We leave, we place the "Please Clean." sign on our door, and return late that evening and it is still NOT cleaned. You're kidding, right? We spoke to management and said this is two days in a row that we requested cleaning and it hasn't happened. Management wasn't aware there were new "Please Clean." signs and said the cleaning staff doesn't read/speak English, so they didn't know what the sign meant, which is why they didn't clean the room. Luckily, we were leaving again, so they called their staff and cleaned the room right then... They cleaned the rest of the week, but it was unacceptable that it took speaking to management three times to get the service we requested. 3. Continental Breakfast- gross. It was not fresh, cold, and a complete mess all of the counters, food containers, and appliances. It looked like friends of the cleaning staff were coming in and helping themselves to breakfast, despite not being guests of the hotel itself. 4. Indoor Pool/Fitness Center Indoor Pool and spa was heavily chlorinated. It scared me to go in because it would probably give me chemical burns. Not to mention, the water had bugs, hair and dirt floating around. Fitness Center is a complete wreck. Their total body machine is completely rusted and hard to use because of this. Elliptical machine is rusted and broken. Resistance does not work and the pedals are falling off. Treadmill is completely inoperable. The safety piece that is required to run the machine is rusted and does not make a connection to allow the machine to function. Needless to say, you won't be working out here. Save your money, book elsewhere. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

« A really friendly and nice hotel »

I have been here twice in the past month or so--I would be back again next week but they were sold-out on the dates I needed (I waited to o long to reserve--sigh). Just has a very nice rustic feel--like a lodge--when you enter. One of this nicest lobbies I have seen in some time--not swank or posh...just...welcoming. I like that. The employees reflect the same welcoming attitude. I will be back--I will just make sure I reserve with a proper lead time!

What a great hotel! The decor in the lobby, in the rooms, and the friendliness of the staff all said "Western Hospitality." The lobby was comfortable to hang out and meet, the milk and cookies at night were a special touch, and the landscaping outside just perfect. The beds were very comfortable, as were the many pillows provided. If in the area again, I would DEFINITELY choose this hotel again.

« Great Place to Stay when in Boise »

This is a great Best Western property. It is near the freeway and close to downtown, has very nice rooms and suites, the breakfast is excellent, and the price is right. It is quiet, comfortable, and has helpful staff.

    « Quality Stay »

Staff were helpful and check in and check out was perfect. The room was very comfortable and quiet, I did not hear traffic noise from the interstate and it is only 5 min to down town. Location was good for my business stay.

« The Northwest Lodge in Boise - Must Stay »

I have to highly recommend this hotel. It was right off the freeway, but without the noise. The staff was amazingly friendly, professional and helpful. The lobby area was like a lodge, and you felt comfortable going down there and visiting with other guests, or reading a book. The breakfast was A+. The value was excellent.

    « Comfortable hotel »

I found this hotel on the Tripadvisor site, but called to make a reservation due to limited Web access. TA had rooms from $109 but the best price by phone was $113. The lobby and our room was clean, neat and tastefully decorated. The lobby has comfortable seating areas as well as table and chairs. The carpet in our room had some "ripples" which would probably resolve with stretching. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. I noted some guest rooms labeled as family and business suites. Beer and wine can be purchased at the desk. They serve milk and cookies in the evening. Breakfast includes hot and cold options. Staff were pleasant.

« Large Room, Great Staff, Warm Pool! »

What a comfortable hotel. Right off the freeway and especially convenient if you're coming from the south. The room was very large and the beds very comfortable. Best of all, the pool was warm and clean. We love morning swims when we have it to ourselves! Then there was breakfast. A notch above the usual with many options - all delicious. We'll stay here again!

    « Good Night Stay »

I stayed at the Best Western Northwest Lodge on the east side of Boise, ID. I chose it because of other good ratings and it was close and convenient to my travel. The staff were very efficient and helpful with dining recommendations, etc. I would stay there again when next in the area.

    « 2 nites »

Stayed here two nights while in town from Seattle. Other than being on the edge of town I have very few complaints. It's location has little to do or eat nearby if you have any free time. The room was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. The wifi was fast and the location had easy access to the freeway. Never heard the nearby airport which was nice. I would stay again if passing through.

    « Excellent Stay »

We would stay here again. The facility was clean and pretty and updated. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was hot and had very good choices. I would recommend this as a place for people who are traveling through Boise.

    « One Happy Customer »

I arrived late driving a U-Haul from Phoenix Arizona. Being tired and being greeted with a friendly smile, made me a happy customer on the spot. Crystal, at the front desk, was very welcoming and made every effort to accommodate me on my late arrival. She was speedy in checking me in so I could get to my room. Walking in to the room I was pleasantly surprised by how big the room was. Too bad I was only there for 1 night. The bed was comfy and large.(Queen i think) Direct TV, free wi fi was all part of the room rate. If I am ever back in the area I would not hesitate to call here first. Thank you Best Western!

« Best Western Northwest Lodge »

Very Clean and friendly. one comment, pillows were not comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. the breakfast was great and the cookies and milk served at night was a nice added touch. I wish there were disinfectioning wipes in the gym.

    « Lovely Place »

The Best Western Northwest Lodge here in Boise, Idaho is an ideal stop. My stays here have both been lovely. If you are looking for a place to swim on your stay I would recommend here with their indoor 24 hour pool and hot tub. The staff is amazing. Always friendly. Both of my stays Dena has always been helpful. If you get a chance and need help late into the night, she is definitely the one to ask!

    « Nice Hotel »

Nice hotel, competitive price. Rooms need some updating as wood furniture is getting worn. NO place to eat nearby except fast food. You have to drive 4-5 miles to get dining experience. Beds better than average but not as good as some other major chains.

« Good, but could be better »

Nice rooms, nice breakfast, yummy cookies in lobby before bed. However, pool room smelled funny and had no towels (even upon request). Breakfast was delightful BUT garbages were overflowing all over the floor and the kitchen helper didn't speak enough English to help me with what I need at breakfast (butter), which was missing. They have the bones of a great hotel, but definitely need some polish!

« Great Value for Price »

Everyone was very friendly, everything was very clean, the hotel is well-decorated, the bed was soft, and the hot tub was great. The breakfast was very good, but I would have appreciated more gluten free options. It's a bit outside of town, which could be a positive or negative. Overall, fantastic value for the low cost I paid.

« Perfect layover for family of 5 on way to Sun Valley »

Family suite has 3 beds, sleeps 6-7 was clean, spacious and just right. We booked online 1 hour before arriving and it was dead easy. Location is about 5 minutes off 84 but worth every bit of the time.

« A great place to stay in Boise »

This is an excellent Best Western hotel. Everything in the room was clean and functional. Comfortable bed and writing desk chair. Breakfast was very good, nice selection of real scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, breakfast meats, fresh fruit, bread, muffins, etc.. the only negative is lack of signage on S. Federal Way makes finding this gem a real challenge at night.

First Class All the Way! The New Decor is fresh and trendy.Nice touch in Lobby and updates throughout. Interior lighting has been changed to new and brighter * lighting,so nice! Thanks Tori your new changes in Decor is impressive! Great Breakfast served up everyday with nice seating in the Lobby. I try to stay here every time we travel into Boise Idaho. We were here two weeks ago. Good Location close to shopping and restaurants, don't miss this one.

    « a great place to stay »

Very nice accommodations all around. Highly recommend this place to stay either business or pleasure. Very clean and staff was helpful at all times. The breakfast was great. A full service menu and then a help yourself. Great coffee which is always a plus!

    « More than expected »

My Company booked this hotel for me staying 4 nights,I read a few reviews and was not sure what to expect...I stay in Boise area hotels every year and have stayed at 5 star most of the time.. I arrived at 11:40 am the hotel manager had a room cleaned and checked me in 3 hour prior to rrgular check in at 3:00 pm. I would rate my experience 5 Room was awesome !! The morning Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The pool and hot tube were available 24 &7 as well as the exercise room. All of the staff form the Front desk management to the breakfast servers were friendly and curious . The all went out of there way to make this year's BOISE trip one I will not forget...I will be staying here for. Now on...A GREAT BIG THANK YOU !!! Northwest Lodge for a memorable Trip this year...Phil Olson's Greenhouse Territory Manager

« Great Staff and Room »

The room was clean and welcoming and the staff was fantastic. They made me feel right at home and was very welcoming and friendly towards my cat too! It can be hard traveling with a pet and even harder to find a good hotel that allows cats. This place was great and I plan to stay here every time I travel to/thru the area.

« Personal Service in a mountain inn atmosphere. »

Very hometown personal service. Very clean. Nice amenities. Very friendly, caring and intelligent staff. Great breakfast. Good size pool and Jacuzzi. Excellent exercise room with treadmill, elliptical, and hand weights.

    « Breakfast »

Best complimentary breakfast ever offered anywhere!!! Everything from six different offerings of hot coffee and tea to scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs, toast, jellies, cream cheese, bagels, peanut butter, four different cereal offerings, and to top it off, even chocolate waffles!

    « Not sure... »

First time we have stayed her and I was ready to write a five star review until...second day. No maid service due to listing us in the wrong room. Keys don't work due to listing us in the wrong room. 9:30 at night changing rooms due to listing us in the wrong room. OK, I can understand the mistake. But the new room, filthy. So much "stuff" on the floor, I quit taking pictures to show the management. Dirty toilet. Wrinkled bed linens makes you wonder. We really liked this place and planned to stay here in the future when visiting family. Now...I'm not sure.

« Easy location, nice hotel »

The front desk folks went out of their way to help us out with a couple of problems (not with the hotel!) that we had while in Boise. Friendly, competent people, nice hotel, good location for us. It was easy to find (just off the freeway). I was surprised there was not more freeway noise since we were facing the freeway. This location on the edge of town was perfect for us. Easy access to downtown.

    « Family trip »

My kids and I went up over Christmas break for some relaxation. We stayed at Best Western Northwest Lodge. This is our favorite hotel. We were able to just relax by the in the pool and hot tub. We really enjoyed this trip.

    « Hotel »

The children love to swimming but it was not enough warm pool. It is great breakfast and need extra table and chair. The bed was okay but need update the beds. Good thing we can walk to jack in the box.

    « Northwest Lodge »

Have stayed here many times over last several years. Always a nice stay, just out of the hustle but still easy access to everything. Staff has always been great and hot tub always clean. Evening beverage is nice and breakfast is descent. Quiet rooms. They have several sizes of rooms so sometimes have to ask.

    « Great experience »

We stayed in a double queen room the room was super clean and the staff was very helpful experienced and very friendly! I don't think TripAdvisor should be putting limits on our words requiring us to type 200 minutes or more ridiculous

    « Passing through »

This place is a great place to stop after a long drive. We've started in Louisiana and this is the last stop before heading to Washington State. We would recommend this place to all our family and friend. Great with pets and room size, to save money they also offer Breakfast.

« Grizzly Bears on the Pool wall! »

Checked in here at the last minute, and was given a tastefully decorated room that was sparkling clean. Lobby is comfortable and welcoming, with comfy couches. Breakfast is nothing special (does every "free breakfast" place order their food from the same vendor- the one who makes "eggs" that look like taco shells?), but the bath products are luxurious and the pool & hot tub are excellent. Log benches even in the pool room, friendly and highly professional staff, good prices. Only issue is traffic- road and air. This place is right by Micron, a set of major intersections, and the landing area for the airport, so earplugs would be a good suggestion. Other than that, a nice place to stay.

    « STaycations are great! »

Thanks for the wonderful stay, Torri. And Thanks for addressing our issues. I look forward to our next stay-cation in February! We take a Stay-Cation monthly and this hotel is on the top of my list. I like how it was like being transformed back in time with the rustic features, furniture and style. It was truly like getting away though we live in town. Thanks, Best Western Northwestern Lodge! The Migels

    « Boise fun »

We booked this hotel on the advice of a friend who had stayed recently. We didn't do any other research as to the location of the property (our mistake) and it wound up being about 15 miles from our niece's house and not real close to downtown. Turned out okay though since Boise is easy to get around AND we got to see some sights while traveling to the house. Accommodations were good and the staff friendly. A good value for our money.

    « A Western Themed Lodge/Hotel »

Check in and Check out were easy. The room was very nice - it was western themed in the decorations and attractive. There was a refrigerator which actually had a small freezer unit for our freezer blocks. There were two chairs at the table where the computer hook ups were located. The sink and bathroom were separate so one person could be showering while the other was using the sink. The fan in the bathroom was loud and the bath tub made creaking noises. The third floor is kept as pet free which is very nice for those with pet allergies. The breakfast had the standard hot and cold offerings but they did have fresh fruit and yogurt.

    « Beautiful Hotel »

Superb rooms and organic bath products. Staff was professional and gracious. The lobby was beautiful. Breakfast is the usual fare, not much fresh stuff, prepackaged gravy and biscuits. The place is well done and has comfortable, beautiful rooms.

« Good Value for Money »

Not an upscale hotel, but great value for money. Clean, reasonable breakfast, helpful staff. Bed could me more comfortable. Adding more variety to breakfast would make this even more appealing. Hotel maintenance was good.

    « Northwest Lodge Boise »

Room was very nice. Sorry we missed the cookies in the evening. Clean, nice, fairly reasonable. TV remote would not change channels. Pool area open 24 hours. Could not walk to any events, as to far from main stream, very nice otherwise.

« Staff very inconsiderate, rude and not truthful »

I looked up hotels with indoor pools as our two little children wanted to go swimming so we were going to take them on a fun little overnight trip. I found this hotel advertised at $76 online for the night of 11/2. We decided to go to the hotel and check it out - see the pool etc. When we arrived we liked the pool area so asked the hours and if the pool was heated. We were told it was 24 hours and yes, it was heated. We then asked if we could book the $76 room. We were told the cheapest room available was $99 in a snotty tone. I advised that it was advertised online for $76 and was then told well you will just have to book it online then, but if you do that you have to stay here as we won't give you any money back. I never said anything about getting my money back so thought this was really quite rude. I said ok, let me just go back out to the car and I can book it on my ipad. We literally walked back outside to our car, pulled up the site again and it now said $89, however when you clicked the link to book it - it kept coming up as $99. So we took the ipad in and showed the gal at the front and she said, that is strange as it's showing that price, but I still can't give you that price. Hmm. Ok. By this time our children were getting anxious - all they wanted to do was go swimming. So, we paid for a full price room - Ended up being $111 and some change. About an hour later after getting our things settled in the room and the kids in their swim attire, we went to the pool. My four year old puts her feet in and immediately yells - Mommy!!! It is freezing!! My two year old then puts his feet in and immediately says he is cold. I then put my feet in and wow... the pool is NOT HEATED. It is freezing cold. The hot tub is not suitable for children of this age. The pool, my daughter with stood for about 3-4 minutes at which time I see her teeth chattering and she is physically shaking so I make her get out. I go to the front desk and the lady who booked us in to the hotel has left for the day. I let the other lady there now know that we specifically booked this hotel for the pool for our kids - we live in Boise and just wanted to do something fun for our children. We were told the pool was heated, it is clearly not - my little girl is freezing and my son cannot even get in past his feet. I am very unhappy about this. She told me there was nothing she could do as she didn't book me in. We then went to our room and watched some TV. About 4 in the morning the people next to us were so loud - banging things, sounded like animals in the next room. Woke both kids up several times between 4-6am so at about 6:15 am we finally just packed our things back up and went home. What a complete waste of our time and money and a huge disappointment to our children. I am so unhappy with this experience I cannot even express how much.

« Good location, nice staff »

Breakfast was terrible., The room was large enough for us to have our own beds. The bathroom was little for a suite, however, there were 2 sinks so the rest of us could continue to get ready while others showered. The staff was pleasant and helpful. .

    « Northwest Lodge »

Nice facilities, caring staff, clean and confortable. Lack of having available mobility accessible room as reserved. Noisy as near freeway. Easy on and off from freeway. Milk and cookies in the evening a plus.

« Super Happy Fun Time »

If you're looking to stay in an inviting, comfortable and quaint hotel that's minutes from the airport, this is your destination! The rooms are clean. They offer great cable channels with HD and wide screen tvs. All accommodations were up to par! The staff is what really makes this hotel truly memorable! Arriving in the evening, I was checked in by Brook who was extremely friendly. She informed me of the Internet code and any other questions I had. Falling asleep was difficult so at around 2am I thought I would try my luck at asking for a cup of milk which is when I met a very kind Shelby who, without hesitation, promptly acquired a ice-cold cup of milk! I couldn't have been happier!!! The next evening after my attendance at a friend's wedding, I was greeted by Jamie and Yaslinn upon my entry. Extremely friendly ladies who engaged in conversation willing and earnestly, if I choose to do so, which is a breath of fresh air!!!! While I was there I met Yaimara, a very pleasant person and the hotel manager. I conveyed my appreciation of her staff and accommodations. Kudos to the engineer who helped me with the desk mat. Cheers to the housekeeping staff.

« Fabulous place to stay »

Extremely helpful people at main desk, decor is very comfortable and impressively beautiful, fun Halloween decorations made it festive, extremely quiet,it is obvious the staff cares about their jobs and are extremely helpful and professional, makes you feel like family.

« "Great" (Best) Western Northwest Lodge »

The lobby really looks like a high-end mountain lodge with a large stone fireplace, log columns and plenty of room to relax in seating areas with overstuffed chairs, couches and wood tables. The western mountain lodge theme continues in the guest rooms with modern amenities and very comfortable beds. The hotel is located in a safe area of Boise near the tech industry headquarters. Brooke Olsen at the front desk is very cheerful, helpful and will make you smile.

    « Best Western Boise »

The exterior of the hotel is very inviting. Close to freeway access for easy on and off. The room was clean, but just seemed a little lacking in normal maintenance issues. We didn't mention it either, so maybe that's why they haven't been taken care of yet. Overall a nice hotel

« Could have been better »

We stayed here for one night on our way to Yellowstone. We've done this before, due to the property's location next to the interstate. The room was nice. Comfortable and quiet. But, there were some concerns. The front desk agent seemed to be out and about a lot. We had to wait for her to return to check in, and had to wait for her to come back when we wanted to discuss a problem. The problem was really kind of silly. The hinges on our room door hadn't seen any kind of lubrication for some time, and make very loud noises when we opened or closed the door. I pity the people in the rooms around us. I spoke with the front desk about this, and was informed that there was nobody who could oil the door on weekends. I just shook my head. Perhaps the maintenance person should have been paying attention to this during the week. Another issue that I saw involved the fire doors in front of the elevator landings. These were propped open because the hold-open magnets weren't working. Fire code violation, people! The breakfast was standard Best Western breakfast fare. Not great, but not terrible. The employee keeping the breakfast area stocked and cleaned was very surly. If these little details had been attended to, I would have given this hotel a much higher rating.

    « Yeehaw »

In case you're not annoyed and exhausted enough after a long day of travel, they've got country "music" blaring in the hotel lobby. This might be fine for the local potato farmers and welfare cowboys, but most hotel guests are from somewhere else, and probably aren't enamored of this barnyard and honky-tonk noise. I cancelled my second night and stayed elsewhere.

« A Lovely Rustic Oasis in a Convenient Location »

This was my second stay at this location and the second visit was even better than the first. Lovely rooms with upscale western theme and cozy lobby makes you feel right at home. Rooms were clean, breakfast was just right and staff was more than accommodating. Good value for your money. The only down-side is that there is no family restaurant close by as the Perkins that was on the same site has closed. Jack-In-The-Box doesn't quite cut it! Great stay though all the same. Come experience this gem for yourself!

« nice pet friendly, indoor pool clean rooms »

very clean rooms ,pet friendly close to stores has an indoor pool breakfast and coffee. lodge stayed here traveling from tampa to portland nice helpful staff has a jack in the box resturant in front parking lot.. A++++

    « Western Themed Hotel »

Great little hotel that exceeded our expectations. It's got a great western themed style and the staff is excellent. Only downside is that road construction is finishing up in the area that makes exiting the place a little awkward - hopefully completed by late 2015. Excellent breakfast - fresh cookies in evenings.

« ADA room problems and over all maintenance »

ADA room too big of furniture no room to move around in wheelchair. Roll in shower pan was not even floor so could not use.Second room for family the tub faucet would not shut off.Moved to different room and thermostat did not work.Moved to third room. Lights not working in stairway and lights totally kurt on second floor. No automatic doors to enter building - can't believe how cheap this is being managed.Matresses floated so difficult to use in ADA room.

« Get bed and accessories »

Stopped here on the way home from vacation. Great location; east side right off freeway. Staff was great ... cookies and milk and free breakfast so-so. Best Western needs new menu and better food. Bed was great. Fans in bathroom and heater were way too noisy. They need wd40.

    « Family Suite »

This suite was very nice for the price. I think an improvement would be to have a closed wall with door (or some type of room divider) between the King bed and the two queen beds. The breakfast was not the same high quality found in the rest of the hotel.

    « Highly Recommend »

Super friendly staff, lobby had very nice ambiance, they serve milk & cookies in the evening which was a cute touch of home. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely appointed. There are a lot of very nice restaurants within a short driving distance.

    « Road Trip Lodging »

Overall...great! Great beds...slept soundly! Loved having elevator as we were on the third floor. Pool area looked very inviting, but we did not have time to use. Motel a bit difficult to leave as median in road. Also, road construction made it hard to find in the dark, but conveniently located right off the freeway!

    « Lovely stay »

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is close to the airport and offers very nice accommodations. Our room was clean, roomy, and also had a micro-fridge. There were cookies in the lobby around 8 and breakfast in the morning was good. Definitely recommended!
