« Excellent place to stay »

We stayed here for two nights during the week. The place was quiet, with few people staying. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. Despite being virtually on the Princes Highway, which is so convenient, it was quiet in the room and we had absolutely no issues with noise at all. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows great. The towels were huge and fluffy. Apart from the comfort of the room and the sheer convenience of its location, the other reason to stay is the food. The motel has a restaurant on site which serves breakfast and dinner. We had breakfast both days and it was brilliant! Cooked to perfection and fresh and tasty. Dinner was fabulous, fresh seafood, huge portions and excellent service. I can understand why business people would stay here. It's just off the main road, has brilliant food, comfortable rooms, a swimming pool and brilliant staff (family run). If you are travelling up or down the coast and need a break at Batemans Bay, then this is the place to pull in and put up your feet for the night. They also do room service and sell wine, beer etc. Great stay

    « Good size rooms & amenities »

My favourite stay when on business trips. Good size rooms, amenities and love the meals. Also on offer is room service from dinner to breakfast, this is a major plus after driving for lengthy hours. I have learnt not all offer this service other than breakfast, I then have to drive out for dinner. Alan and his team very friendly and professional.

« Good One in Batemans Bay! »

Easy to find - the first on the way into Batemans Bay from Victoria. Excellent staff - quick helpful service. Clean & spacious rooms - very quiet even though on the main road. Great Restaurant on site - Very good food and great not to have to drive to dinner after all day on the road.

« Great Place to stay »

We visited here and I must say, it was a surprise. Big rooms, very clean. The staff I think are family and they went out of their way to help us. We ate in their restaurant and I ate the garlic prawns, lamb and Creme brûlée - the meals were satisfactory.

    « Best is Best »

The Rooms are spacious, the service is excellent, and the restaurant's food is exceptional. When you stay here there is no need to leave, if you feel the need though, it is only a quick 900 m walk into town. It is on the highway, but the road noise is all but not there. A great place to stay after a long day on the road.

    « Ray »

The rooms here are very clean and very large, shower was amazing best I've had in a motel, close to town the lady at reception organised courtesy bus to RSL club, although close to hway very quite nights sleep, fridge noisy vibration noise so just turned it off during night, plenty of parking out front of room, would stay here again

    « Beer on a champagne budget »

Priced at the rate of a reasonable hotel, at $250 per night for a king bed with a spa, we decided to forego the fact that it is a motel and give this place a go...not bad, but significantly overpriced Now let's start at the pros 1. Service by the lovely lady was impeccable, she was warm, inviting and a sincere pleasure to deal with 2. The food at the Trappers restaurant was divine. The seafood platter is well worth a try! Service was a little slow, mains did take 72 minutes to arrive. In fairness to the restaurant, the dining room was running at full capacity. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and had a glimpse of luxury, we'd forgotten we had checked in to a best western motel! Sadly, the room itself left much to desire 1. The room smelt heavily of cigarette smoke 2. The linen had a musty odour 3. The shower head in the bathroom is subpar. At a flow rate which would be equivalent to 2 litres per minute, our showers were frustrating at the very least. We tried the shower during various time of the day to no avail. 4. No cable tv channels per listing on booking website. 5. The clothes iron was horrendous - it leaked a sticky grainy substance all over a shirt, highly unimpressed! At $250 per night, this motel is severely overpriced. After two nights of near no water in our showers, it has me hesitant in returning. If you enjoy a nice shower to start your day and to end off a lovely day down south, I'd suggest you stay at another location...however do drop in and try their restaurant!

« Great Value. Big Size Room. Clean. »

Stopping at Batemans Bay for 1 night. Was pleasantly surprised when we checked into our room. Room is big and very clean. Bathroom recently refurbished. Easily fit a family of 4 with 2 young kids aged 4 & 6. Lady at front desk was lovely. She offered us a lift to the city center if we were going to have drinks for dinner. Overall, I'll be happy to stay here again with my family.

« Disgrace; No Booking on arrival »

I booked with this Motel weeks in advance. My Booking was confirmed over the Phone. After a 10hr Drive with business I did not expect to be told at 8pm that there was no Booking. "They have a Bus Group in". I was later told by another Motel Owner is not the first time this has happened with this Motel. So Pushed out by a Bus Group?? Bus Groups must be more important. Hopefully the Bus Groups keep coming; they have lost my business. The inconvenience of finding a last minute Motel; I did find a comfy stay. Araluen Motor Lodge. Staff were very helpful.

    « Quick visit , great room »

Great sized room , plenty of space with dining table , lounge . Bathroom huge , you can have a swim in summer . Plenty of parking . Room service available and restaurant dining . Not quite on the main strip but still a great spot to stay

    « Nice stay »

Overnight stay after driving along the coast. Nice sized room, comfortable and clean with recently renovated bathroom. Is on outskirts of town but within easy walking distance to shops and eating places. Close to highway but noise not a problem.

    « Michael Ellicott »

Would class this as the worst best western we've stayed in. Supposed to be 4 plus star rating what a joke. Absolutely freezing no electric blankets. Room smelt. Not even a alarm clock. Tiny room out of date snacks. Got extra blanket out should have been thrown away a few years

    « Needs an upgrade »

I have recently stayed in 2 other BW hotels (in Newcastle and Hobart) and enjoyed the experience, but my wife and I were totally shocked when we drove up to this place in Bateman'd Bay. It looked old and tired (like you might expect from a 3-star Budget motel) and when we got into the room it confimed our view that the place has not been upgraded since the 1980s. Old furniture, old bathroom, dark room, poor lighting. Other than a new TV everything looked as I assumed it would have in 1985 - but not deliberately 'retro', just old fashioned. It appears the town bypass has now left the hotel stuck in the backbocks on the now deserted Old Princes Highway and looks as if it has been left untouched since then. The aged owner tried to be friendly but clearly she has run out of money and hasn't been able to do anything to the place in the last 20 years. Sorry to say, but it let's down the standard of what you might expect from a 'Best Western Experience'.

« Big Room - Not centrally located. »

Stop over for work, the motel is located on the outskirts of town. Had to pay for wifi and it wouldn't connect from my room. Otherwise the room was a great size. I would of been happier if there was an electric blanket located in the room, as it does get cool in winter.

« One of the best in Batemans Bay »

Spacious rooms, very comfortable and clean. Minimal noise which was surprising as the motel is very close to the Highway. That was a very pleasant surprise. The room was modern. The staff very very friendly and accommodating. I have stayed at the Sunseeker a few times and have never been disappointed. I would definitely stay there again.

    « Really impressive Motel. »

Arrived on Anzac day looking for a nice Motel for the night. Called in to the Sunseeker Motor Inn and was met by a really friendly owner who showed us to a beautiful room. Large, queen bed, lounge, dining table and three chairs, all good quality. The bathroom is a really good size and despite the poisition almost on the highway, there are double windows and the room is totally silent. Really well done and much appreciated. There is a good sized fridge and all the usual tea making facilities and a toaster. Everything is really clean and well maintained.

« We didn't get what we paid for »

Whilst this motel is comfortable it isn't well located as it isn't close to the town centre If you stay there in April you can expect the pool to be closed (even though your tariff includes the use of the pool) and the restaurant will also be closed and you will have to go offsite for meals. To do so you must drive somewhere as it's too far to walk to any restaurants or clubs Don't expect good customer service as the manager will just walk out of the room if you make a complaint (for example about the unavailability of the pool and the restaurant) If you plan a relaxing break in a coastal environment then this isn't the motel for you

« An old motel that has undergone limited refurbishment »

Our room was reasonably spacious but furnishings were dated. Bathroom was very cramped, to the extent that the door opened outwards. Our room faced a busy road, with a lot of noise from heavy trucks. However there was double glazing to the windows, which was very effective in cutting out the noise, and we slept very well.

« Noisy guests and no management intervention »

I stayed there for business which was clearly stated on my booking and then said to the manager upon booking in. My room was in the middle of a large group who stayed up until 1.36am having a party on the verandah. Rang management who lived on site just went to message and I left a message. Left early before office opened. Never heard from manager. Very poor wouldn't return or recommend. There were other rooms available that were away from the party.

« Nice friendly hotel with excellent restaurant »

Impromptu stop for overnight stay on our way up to Sydney - received a warm welcome and checked into a recently refurbed room which was spacious, with good shower facilty, air con, big LCD TV & very comfy bed. Had to get wifi code for our devices from reception and it worked fine. We arrived late so decided to eat in the restaurant - good choice!!?? there was a good selection of dishes on the menu, it was reasonably priced & the food was excellent as was the service from our waitress, chef and the hotel manager who made this a very enjoyable stay!

« Very clean room, Staff very friendly with great service »

We had a room on the main road, excellent view and it was very quiet. Our meals were very fresh and well prepared. They were most happy to assist with special dietary requirements. Most enjoyably stay. Easy walking to the water and shops.

« A couple of unexpected small inconveniences ... a grip from me but basically ok. »

We booked this Best Western accommodation for an overnight stay, expecting there would be good internet access (but we could not get ANY at all). Their advertising should state that there is 'intermittent internet access for some devices and not others' rather than the current advertising of internet access throughout the complex. I was also swayed towards booking here based on there being a guest laundry, as advertised but even though the website and the Information Booklet in the room advertised the laundry 'between rooms 28 and 29', the former 'laundry' could be seen to be long-gone and used nowadays as a store room. When I inquired about the laundry the reply was that guests can use the laundry in the town, not far away, and that they 'always tell our guests to go there'. In this case, I thought they should have removed the guest laundry from all advertising online and in-house. The motel is right on the Princes Highway and it was noisy during the day but not bad with the aircon on at night. It was clean and pleasant. I had a swim in the pool in the evening, still sunny around the pool, and it was very pleasant! A licensed restaurant was on-site, open and very nice indeed! So, depending on what you want for an overnight stay, this may or may not suit you!

    « After a little confusion, a great stay »

This would have to be one of the highlights of our Road trip. Batemans bay is a jewel and the Sunseeker made it shine. Our room was very clean, tidy and large. The management went out of their way to help us out the bed was comfortable the sleep was good.Thank you for an absolutely wonderful stay we will be back.

    « Always a pleasure »

Service is always warm and friendly. The rooms are refurbished clean and comfortable. Although on the main road, I never hear the traffic from my room. I haven't eaten in the restaurant for dinner however breakfast is always consistent and the service is fantastic.

« Some of the rooms are veeeery old »

I believe some of the rooms were redone recently, but some of them are extremely shabby and old, My room was old, moldy, not at all like the pictures on their website. If you want to stay here ask for the new room. Pictures of the old rooms are available here. Wish I looked up this hotel here before booking it. I didn't like the restaurant as well, as I found it overpriced. Limited wifi.

    « road trip »

very happy. modern and comfortable. great service.staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.would be happy to recommend this motel. Best Western standards are commendable. would definitely stay here again

« Awesome room and friendly staff »

stayed recently twice during the month of September for work. The 2 seperate rooms i have stayed in have recently been refurbished and are extremely lovely. Nice and spacious, and the bathrooms are very lovely. 42" plasma TV, aircon, mini bar, coffee facilities and free wifi (need to obtain the wifi login details from reception upon check in). The Beds i had were not to bad (not the best and not the worst), average i would say. Had a good selection (variation of pillows) I didn't get a chance to eat in their on-site restuarant but from what I have been told is that the food is amazing. I will have to try this next time for myself to judge. Has a pool in the ground complex which I am sure what be ideal for those summer months. Even though the motel backs a main road, you don't notice the noise at all (or i didn't anyway) Motel is within walking distance to the main street and entertainment such as the Soldiers club (about a 15min walk)

    « A nice visit »

We arrived wondering if this place would be too noisy, nestled between two main roads, but were pleasantly surprised, we had no adverse traffic noises at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice, clean room, with a super comfy bed. Thank you

    « A Friendly place »

despite being close to the princes Highway the Hotel is surprisingly Quiet. I Stayed one night on my way down the south coast from Sydney and had a Fantastic nights sleep here. I didn't eat Dinner at the restaurant as I was going out but Enjoyed A great Breakfast in the Morning. Will definitely be returning

    « Friendly »

Spent the night here. Booked over the phone from the car. Receptionist was very pleasant & helpful. Our room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. After a long drive we were more than happy to try their restaraunt, Trappers, which was a wonderful surprise. The meal was fantastic & the wine was mellow. Only downside is it gets a bit noisy early in the morning

    « Clean but noisy »

Stayed here on a week night, the hotel was great, staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, WIFI did not work, the meal from the restaurant was fantastic and they had a great room service special. The big downer was the noise level, even though the motel is set back from the princes highway you could hear every truck that drove through late at night and in the morning.
