Best Western Plus Albert Lea I-90/I-35 Hotel

This is the nicest hotel in Albert Lea, MN . The hotel and accommodations are top notch. The hotel is spotless, and staff are continuously cleaning the common areas. I've never met such a hardworking, friendly and helpful staff. I don't think I would stay anywhere else but the Best Western when visiting ALbert Lea.

Everything was clean and fresh. The bed was great; I slept very well. A very cordial and friendly greeting at the front desk when I arrived, and at breakfast. Plenty of outlets in the room, also plenty of lights if you want a bright ambiance. Breakfast was well stocked with standard fare for this level of hotel.

Xclellent. ADA many towels in bathroom. Lots of soap. Room was quiet a with power shades. Great feature. Nice chair and Television was the perfect size. I wish there was a pen available, but maybe I did not look hard enough

I have found all the staff upbeat and helpful. From needing to change my reservation or late cancellations, extra linens and supplies to late check in they do it all. Whoops, forgot wake up calls! The rooms are clean and the place is quiet. Even when sports teams have been in residence. Highly recommend you give them a try.

We had no reservation and got a good room late at night, with a dog, 2 Queen beds. Desk clerk was super friendly, warm & nice- just so welcoming!! She deserves a raise for the good will she bestows on your establishment!. Room was clean, had a small table & desk chair, & a small chair by the bed. Breakfast was good, not great, but had a good variety. Very pet friendly! Beds and pillows were really comfortable! Room was very quiet. We weren't there long enough to use the pool or workout equipment but they looked clean and inviting. We will definitely stay here again.

After paying $20 more for a far from satisfactory stay the night before, this hotel was a welcome experience. Clean, comfortable, roomy, everything in working order, good location. Everything was great except slow replenishment on breakfast items. When we arrived scrambled eggs were all gone and there was only one lonely piece of bacon remaining. Both were eventually replenished but not until we had already made due with cereal and finished our breakfast.

One night stop over on our way home to WI after visiting Yellowstone. Perfect way to end our vacation. Rooms were clean, staff friendly, breakfast was very good. Price was extremely reasonable. We would definitely stay again if we're in the area .

We stopped here for one night on a road trip. Exceptionally clean and comfortable bed. Desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

No water in the room (shower, sink or toilet), broken door latch, broken bathroom outlet, dirty room, TV and closet shelf listed heavily. It took over an hour to get the water problem resolved. Noisy room.

If you desire to understand what a hotel looked like 30-40 years ago, this is your place. There has been very little updating. Our price of +$200 was ridiculous. Our room was clean but ancient. Breakfast was acceptable, We would not recommend. There are other properties offering better value.

Let me premise by stating that we are Best Western Diamond members. The cleanliness of the room especially the bed sheets were gross. I have to tell you that they were not washed. The sheets were stained with God knows what, the pillows had oil stains from heads that slept on them. The attending desk staff person was sympathetic. She went and got us some clean sheets, but hold and behold those sheets were worse than our existing sheets. She went to an empty room to get a couple of clean pillows and then found a clean top sheet. Mind you this was around 11pm and we were extremely tired from driving for 10 hours. The attending staff person said she would reduce our room rate by $14, like that would eliminate the gross feeling that we had for the entire night. We checked out in the morning and we spoke to Amy, the manager. in which she blamed the laundry company, and apologized and provided us with an additional discount of $30 and 500 reward points. We felt that we were just swept under the rug, like go away and here is mere token for you. This is an experience that we will never forget and we will certainly think twice in our future hotel stays of not staying at any Best Western brand hotels.

Rented a room for $210.00- it was a handicapped room- did not request a handicapped room-the room was clean,Breakfast was so-so! I was not told it was a handicapped room—I usually rent Holiday Inn Express- I used Expedia! I will no long rent a Best Western or a Best Western Plus-

The hotel was quiet and I was able to get a great night of sleep. The internet was quick, the room was clean, and there was ample parking making the overnight stay very easy. I would stay here again when in the area.

Staff is friendly. It has a nice indoors swimming pool. Motel is a little tired. Just fine. Breakfast is not provided like most motels these days. Best part of the stay was a walleye dinner at the Bean Town Grill.

Do not stay if you have children. Hotel management was out of line with how they interacted with them on a normal request of getting pool towels. There were non in the pool area and only by request at the front desk. Never once did they say anything to the adults and instead threatened to kick 11 year olds out of the hotel.

Overall great experience. Room clean. Bed very comfortable. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good and kept well stocked. Check in was friendly, and fast. Would recommend this place . Thanks.

Easy access front the interstate. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good. The front desk staff as well as the kitchen/cook staff were polite, kind and professional. The location of the hotel felt safe. We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Albert Lea MN.

Good customer service. I called to inquire about having a pet and the staff was very friendly. Pet friendly! Only $20 extra to have a dog. Room was clean. Recommend for anyone traveling on I-90. Several restaurants close by. Highly recommend.

The front desk receptionist and the breakfast staff was all very nice. The hotel was sold out when we stayed and that was why we rated it three rather than four as it felt like they couldn't keep up with the demands of all the guests. (They knew ahead of time that they were sold out) The breakfast area was small and the staff struggled to keep up with the breakfast flow. The room was a standard queen, it was slightly dated but I really liked that the sink was separate from the bathroom as there were three of us in the room. The bathroom was recently remodeled. I would stay here again if passing through but would just recommend to hotel management to try and staff differently if they are at capacity.

Had to find hotel quickly as the blizzard raged on and al roads were being closed down. Front desk staff was very friendly and were able to accommodate us and even adjust the booking. Kitchen staff was excellent as they were able to fully stock the breakfast menu even though the hotel had full occupancy. they extended the breakfast hours to accommodate people that checked in late due to the blizzard.

Thanks for helping us extend our stay an extra night even though you were very full! Having a nice clean & warm room to sleep in and a helpful staff made one less thing we had to worry about for this very sad trip. ;(

BW was clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, great breakfast and pet friendly. My family and I will definitely stay there next year when we come down to Albert Lee for our Pre thanksgiving gathering.

Hotel is a value stay. Nothing exciting but good for one night stop on our way to the Black Hills. Convenient location with a few restaurants nearby. An older hotel, but clean and no complaints. Could use a larger elevator!

We love this Best Western! The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Recently the staff has been super friendly and helpful. You do need to book early as it gets filled up:) Also, it is a very convenient location just off the highway. Near gas stations and restaurants.

Location is great. Just off the interstate and several restaurants nearby too, Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Just what I expect from a good hotel. I saw that they had breakfast and had hot items. I did have have time to eat there but it was appealing to me.

After some last-minute changes, this became the final night of our epic road trip across Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Montana. On the way to Albert lea from Oacoma SD we stopped off at the wonderful Falls Park in Sioux Falls SD, and did a bit of general sightseeing along the way. All in all though, we were like horses smelling the barn: we were ready to blaze on home to Wisconsin. We did get a rude shock checking in here when the desk clerk informed me that our BW-direct online reservation showed we'd booked two rooms, not one. No idea whose fault that was, and I'm not going to dwell on it. Because, while it was past the 4pm cutoff time to cancel, she took care of it for us. So good on her, yeah? That alone rates an extra star in my book. Even though just a 2-story building, the hotel has an elevator. Sure, it may be the most awkwardly located elevator we'd ever seen. But it works. So it had that going for it. The room itself was . . . well, a bit tired. The furnishings were beat up, and the bedding felt badly worn. Cleaning had been, um, uninspired. The bedside alarm clock was broken. And as is too often the case with hotels, the shower water pressure was barely adequate. The provided breakfast was okay, but nothing to get excited about. But even though the breakfast area was tiny, they did have a full-time attendant on staff. Which kept things moving at least. At $94 all-in for the night, this was actually one of the least expensive places we stayed on this post-pandemic, hose-'em-if-you-can road trip. So all things considered, 4 out of 5 stars isn't that much of a stretch. Plus I'm feeling generous having made it home in one piece.

Had a wonderful overnight stay at the Best Western Plus in Albert Lea, MN.. I rated this 4 stars because for this area, there is a great ease and convenience getting to and from the hotel from Interstate 90. The room was very clean and comfortable and more modern than I expected. There was dining ( Applebee's ) that was about a block away. It was a very safe feeling area so we felt comfortable walking from the hotel. The hotel does offer a pool which I did not get a chance to experience. Overall a fabulous stay. Convenience - 5 Star Safety - 5 Star Cleanliness - 5 Star Comfort - 4 Star Breakfast - 4 Star

Pros: Close to highway interchange and charming Albert Lea business district, friendly staff, clean and comfortable guest room. Cons: None. Despite the Best Western Plus moniker, this is a basic property. (I've never understood the chain's criteria because I regularly stay at a tropical paradise BW in Florida that's not a "Plus".) That said, it's a fantastic basic property in which I could have spent many more nights. Everything about my stay was enjoyable, from the interactions with the front desk staff to the time spent relaxing and sleeping in my clean and comfortable guest room. The property is immediately off I-90 (hence the name) and while there isn't much there aside from a grocery store and some chain eateries, I was directed to Albert Lea's main street for decent food options. On the way back I passed a stunning park surrounding a lake- an added bonus and something that endeared me to the area. I wouldn't hesitate spending time here if I find myself in the area again, and the only other recommendation I cane make is to ask for a room not facing the highway. My room was quiet, likely because it was on the side of the building not adjacent to the interstate.

Stayed here 1 night for the Freeborn County Fair. This is a very convenient location and I would stay here again. Carrie at the front desk is super friendly and fun to chat with. Hot breakfast was served in the lobby in the morning (waffles, biscuits/gravy, sausage, etc.) Our room was clean and everything in working order. Beds were comfortable and A/C worked very well. Appreciated that the hotel was dog friendly and there was lot of grassy area around the hotel to walk with her.

you will not be disappointed! on a scale of 1-10, this property is 10+. literally everything about the hotel is a 10. well-appointed, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, excellent sheets & pillows, quiet, close to town and I-90. service was exceptional. I cannot recommend this property highly enough!

We stay in hotels in Albert Lea several times a year because we visit family there. There are other hotels that are closer to our family. But over time we have chosen to stay at the Best Western. We just like everything about it better. It is clean, comfortable and well-run.

After a long drive, what a great place to stay. The staff was immediately welcoming and friendly, and provide a great information with any questions we had. The room was ready and clean, and looks super comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was an overnight stop on our way to the Black Hills in South Dakota. It was a great stay! We stopped again on our way back home because it was reasonable and clean. It was very convenient right off I-90, and we felt safe with a well lit parking lot. There was a McDonalds and Applebees within walking distance and gas stations close!

We felt welcome by the staff. We were comfortable in spacious accommodations. We felt safe getting in and out of the shower because of the safety bar and the textured tub surface. We experienced a quiet sleep. Overall a very satisfying stay.

We were traveling through town on a college field trip. Great value for our rooms, nice facilities, very clean, and good breakfast. Only wished we had arrived earlier to enjoy the pool and workout room.

Excellent stay at this BW. Easy check in - I booked on app when we parked for a great rate and the employee at check in had my keys and check in paper work ready when I walked in. I rated excellent for this budget motel. Lobby, hallways and stairwells are average and clean. Rooms are simple and clean. Bed was comfortable and we had a good night sleep. Breakfast was excellent with soft fresh biscuits, sausage and gravy. Other choices available as well. Truck parking was accepted and we parked on the street in front of motel. We will use this location again!

Quick and easy access off the highway, but very quiet rooms. Feels safe. Staff is friendly and helpful! Rooms are clean and have good amenities. Breakfast is a little lacking, but it's the typical you'd get anywhere. The person who checked us in made it all worthwhile as well!

From the moment we arrived we could tell service was a top priority with this hotel. The staff made the extra effort to make sure our concerns about traveling with our elderly parent were taken care of. We enjoyed a clean safe room and a good night's rest. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Will definitely remember this location for a future visit to the area.

We spent a night here on our way home. At first, we were pleased. The desk clerks were very efficient and friendly. We had a special request that was taken care of quickly. The room was clean, bright and nice looking. The desk clerk had recommended a place that would deliver a pizza so we did that. We travel with a pet so going out to eat is difficult. The hotel is just off the freeway but the traffic sounds were muted. We thought it was a bit noisy but with people checking in we expected that. What we didn't expect is that there appears to be NO insulation between floors. We heard every footstep the person in the room above us took... and they went to the bathroom twice during the night, walking loudly enough to wake us from a sound sleep. After our rough night we tried their breakfast. If you want protein, it's either yogurt or refrigerated hard boiled eggs. Waffles, toaster stuff and cereal rounded it out. The brown orange juice was horrible. I suspect it wasn't supposed to be but turned. Would I stay here again? If it weren't for the noise from the room above, I would. Missing a good night's sleep when traveling hundreds of miles a day is a deal breaker though.

Our car broke down on our trip across the country. The car dealership recommended this hotel to us and gave us a ride there.The front desk staff was unbelievably helpful courteous and very accommodating for us. They even gave us a late check out being our car was not done yet. Would highly recommend to stay here.

Had an excellent stay here. Room was spotless. Staff attentive. Breakfast was one of the best low-level freebies I have had in quite a while. The usual stuff, but no mess, again, spotless. While most people use this hotel while traveling down the interstate, it is far enough away from the highway that there is no noise. Highly rec.

The staff at this hotel did their best making sure that people got what they needed. They were kind & worked hard! They kept the breakfast area clean, hot & fllled.. Our room could have used a coat of paint & the outside isn't real appealing to be honest. The parking area is very small but ok.

Great place to stay. We will definitely stay at the best Western plus again. The location was perfect, we were able to go to Applebee's to have a late night bite and some drinks. Close to Hy vee gas Station. Right on our way to Grand Marais Minnesota

I highly recommend this Best Western Plus in Albert Lea. There has never been an issue with cleanliness or friendliness. If you are passing this way, this is the place to stay. When they offer a promotion, they always honor it without question.

Terrific hotel. Amy the manager was really nice. Hands down, Cary at the front desk was about as perfect as they come. All 3 days was smiling and made us smile. Check-in was easy and she made sure our room was perfect for us, even upgrading our room when the first one we went in was smoky. She gave us a recommendation for Jake's pizza and it was terrific. The fitness room was small but the machines were good. Pool is very tiny. Hotel is very clean, and that's a big reason why we chose this after ready all hotel rooms in Albert Lea.

Unfriendly workers, no towels, no coffee, lumpy bedding, bill not correct and worker would not do anything about it. This was a very disappointing stay. Breakfast was not good. TV didn't work either. This was a totally unhappy time there.

Staff was friendly. Pet friendly hotel. Sheets were dirty with crumbs and hair. I called the front desk. The man was very apologetic. Brought fresh sheets to our room within 10 minutes. He said he would take $40 off the cost for the room due to the dirty sheets but didn't. Other than the dirty sheets the room and bathroom were clean. Would stay again.

Nothing fancy. Just the basics. But done well. We are repeat guests. Duane, at the front desk, found the piece of luggage that we left in the lobby and delivered it to our room. He's a nice addition to the staff.

my son and I traveled to western South Dakota to pick up my wife who spent 5 weeks helping out family there. Most times while traveling we stop at this Best Western on our return trip. Other than a minor problem with the bill at checkout, there were no problems. The problem was easily handled by Amy, the motel manager.

Best Western Plus hotels were for the most part great on our journey cross country. Go to bags for breakfast as would be expected during COVID. Hotel was clean; service was good. This was a good place to stay for the night

We stayed in 4 different hotels during this travel and found this hotel to be the most comfortable and most affordable. We had 3 beds for our family of 5. They followed the mask mandate and made our stay feel safe.

I travel quite often from my home in Iowa to northern Minnesota and Albert Lea is a half-way point to my destination. I make it a point to stay at this Best Western. The Staff is super friendly, the room and common areas always clean, and the breakfast great. There are a number of places to stay in Albert Lea but I really recommend the Best Western Plus.

The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not use the pool or fitness area. I will be visiting again soon and wouldn't stay any where else. The receptionist was very friendly. The staff seems to really care about you and giving their best service.

This is our go to place in Albert Lea. The price makes us happy and the staff make us happier. We just need a clean reasonably priced room to sleep in that doesn't leave us questioning ourselves wondering if we should have paid more for a fancier place. Nothing is fancy but we sure felt welcome and appreciated. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. She loved her job and it showed.

Very easy location to get back on the road. Good breakfast selection. Comfortable beds. I booked online using points, so I thought there might be a little more to checking in. Check in was just like I had paid, fast and easy. The only thing we had to have them do was change the battery in the TV remote, which they did right away, no problem.

Would recommend everyone to stay a night here. Clean, comfortable beds and great hot breakfast.. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Decor is very nice. Slept like a rock. If you need something that you forgot, they have help at the desk.

Great room at a very good rate. But the staff was what made the stay memorable. I was in town for family business and whatever I needed, the staff was ready and willing to assist whether it was copies or a fax. Ashley was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Carrie was also very helpful and her personality and customer service skills were perfect for her job. The breakfast was great and always well stocked and the motel was clean and nicely updated. I will definitely choose this motel whenever I am in the area.

As a business traveler I need a comfortable bed .... and work area, well lit. There were ample and handy places to plug in devices. Internet was quick and good. Bed was comfortable. Parking lot could have been lit better but the area felt safe. Too many nicer places aren't as comfortable. I'll stay here again.

Rooms were clean and beautiful..Staff were super sweet and helpful... Breakfast was just right...A little bit of everything. We forgot toothpaste and they were so kind to find some for us. If ever in the area again will definitely stop...

Walls were really thin Food was bad. The orange juice was something like sunny d and the waffle mix was so thin, it was like water If the are trying to cut corners with something as cheap as waffle mix, where else are the cutting corners

Terrible customer service is right!!..This is the worst customer service we have experienced ever, from Julie at front desk,which is an old sour lady who doesn't smile, Carie and their manager. We had a 4 night stay for a big group, 2 rooms, one of them with 3 beds, they only allowed 4 people per room including children, reason fire code from state, we called corporate they just agreed with them , they did not even checked on state code, I'm preparing a written letter to the CEO David Kong,no options of accomodations either, no roll away beds, they literally told us this is what it is, if you don't like it you can leave so we did, we booked the rest of our stay with Ramada, with the rest of our group 3 nights and the service was way more better. We were in the middle of the snow storm by the way, never ever again will I ever book with them, nor American inn next door, nor Holiday inn from same city same owner, they are not getting my money!!! Really dissatisfied!!

Best western is a great hotel! Free breakfast, great price. Pool, work out room. Clean rooms in a new building. The room even has a microwave and mini fridge! Very quiet with no noise from other guests.

My now husband and I have stayed here often. We had our wedding party and friends stay here and all of us had an incredible experience. Staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled. We didn't worry about a thing. We are having our family and friends stay again for the huge reception in May.

I only stayed out of necessity not by choice. But give my situation and the circumstances I was in, they worked with me on the checkin a little but that is it. And I almost did not get help with that.

Stopped here overnight on my way to Texas. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. The staff goes out of their way to help you. The gal at the front desk was so helpful when I was there. My wife and I wanted to see the Mall of America. And I needed to got to North Dakota to have been in all fifty states. We had a great one night stay. The front desk people were very helpful and friendly.

This is an awesome hotel that is managed very well. It is neat and clean and has friendly helpful staff. That goes out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast is great and offers assorted choices of hot or cold food.

A clean, quiet, efficient stop with a excellent breakfast. When the adjacent interstate highway exit is fixed the property will be much easier to find. Locating it took some doing even with an automive GPS.

We stayed at the Best Western in Albert Lea, MN for 3 nights. Everyone was so kind at the motel and the cleaning staff were immaculate. The breakfast was great. We will enjoyed the stay! We met our daughter and grandchildren there. The kids had a blast in the pool. The beds were great for a restful sleep and there was even a small patio for a BBQ. We will stay there again if we are in Albert Lea.

Staff was very friendly at hotel. They went above and beyond to ensure that your stay was perfect. They had a yummy breakfast with lots of variety from eggs and sausage to waffles to cappuccinos. The rooms were all very clean.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Albert Lea because it was close to our have way point on our trip. The location was perfect for us. The beds were very comfortable and the motel and rooms were clean and the motel was quiet. We were not able to stay for the breakfast so I can't review that. Overall we were very pleased and would stay there again.

Great value for money. Very clean and ample parking. Good location too, but be aware that it is the street BEFORE the strip mall, when you come in from I-90. Breakfast gets a bit crowded, so get there early. Very spacious rooms.

I was in town on business stayed for 4 days, the rooms were clean the staff amazing,friendly and very helpful! A great breakfast. I'd give them 5 stars, if they had a hot tub, and the pool area was bigger. But they did accommodate me on that as well. The owner owns the hotel next door, so they let me use that hot tub and pool. Amy the manager, Emma front desk pm, and the house keepers one was named Barb who helped me with my luggage super nice and just a joy to be around, i cannot remember the other 2 house keepers names. yikes! I definately will be staying there again! Totally recommend!

The staff were very friendly and rooms were very nice.. breakfast could have been a little bit better.. the food was cold and the biscuits were very hard. And the juice was warm. will definitely stay again when in town.

$144 per night for an old shabby hotel was atrocious. Tried to use pull out sofa and it was borderline torture device. Not impressed with this establishment at all and it has tarnished my opinion of Best Western

Located right off the interstate, and within walking distance of a number of chain restaurants, such as Applebee's, this is a good place for an overnight stay. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and courteous.

We paid slightly under $100 for this room which was about the same price as the AmericInn next door. This hotel is WAY Better (we were at the AmericInn first). Great breakfast options for a hotel breakfast bar. Even had scrambled egg patties and breakfast meat. They also had Almond milk, which we don't see very often. Beds were comfortable. Cookies were put out at night down in the lobby. The hotel pool is VERY small but warm. We were on the second floor, and our window did not open or have a screen. It would've been nice to have that option. Front desk staff friendly. Beds were comfortable. Hotel very quiet.

Nice Hotel close to the freeway. Rooms are nice and clean. Beds and furniture look brand new. Room smells fresh. Internet works very fast. Air Conditioning works great and is quiet. Hotel staff are very helpful and professional. If you need a quiet place to sleep for a night, this is the place.

They tell you one price on phone and charge you more when you get there. Ac units don't work well. The breakfast staff is very nude. Rooms are run down and smelly. Pool deck is very nasty. Fitness room has dust all over equipment.

Good location right off Interstate. Restaurants within walking distance. Front desk staff was great. Best Westerns always have great beds. Like having sink in separate room as shower when their are two or more people. Breakfast was very good but a normal breakfast.

We were greeted upon arrival by friendly front desk staff. This was the first Hotel booked during a two-week cross country vacation. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and clean rooms so much that on our way home we canceled another hotel and booked this one again! The rooms were clean and updated, breakfast was good, there was a little road noise but by 10:00 all was quiet. Both rooms we stayed in were on the first floor. One was a King and the other two queens.

Had a nice stay here and most reasonably priced stay on our trip. This was our 4th night on the road. Lobby is stocked with coffee and tea around the clock. Breakfast was awesome. Eggs, sausage, hot or cold cereal, 4 types of juice. Staff was great too!

The staff was pleasant and friendly. My check-in was easy and I did the express check-out, so no waiting in the morning. My room clean, I thought it was a good breakfast, cute miniature waffles and pancakes.

I was located here for work and wouldn't chose any other place to stay for future trips! The staff is amazing and rooms are clean. Working construction means showers are important and these showers were like being at home!

We had a quick and easy check-in and check-out. The entire motel, including rooms, are well maintained and kept clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The free hot breakfast had a nice selection of foods and drinks, and all was delicious.

We are in the hospitality industry. And we travel a lot across the county. So when we booked our hotels. We look for clean and comfortable rooms. Does have to be a chain hotel. We look for friendly service, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. We highly recommend the Best western.

Limited type of room available when traveling with a small pet. I booked a deluxe whirlpool king room online and understood there would be a pet fee. When checking in was told I couldn't have a pet in this type of room. Was given a double queen room for same rate as deluxe whirlpool king plus $20 pet fee. Room was very nice but not what I reserved.

Staying this time was a last minute decision, I was pleased when they had a room available. As with previous visits, room was clean as well as courteous staff. It is definitely my favorite hotel in Albert Lea.

We were planning to stay somewhere else and they were full and recommended this place. I reluctantly went not knowing where else late at night. Great location at the Junction of I-94 and I-35. Lots of convenience of dining and fuel options. This is a Harley riders dream with a Harley Davidson dealership next door. Must remember for the Sturgis SD rally as a stop.

I frequently stay in hotels for business travel and I'm a Best Western Rewards member. This hotel is conveniently located off of I35 & I90. The entire hotel and guest rooms are very clean and comfortable. The entire staff was very friendly and provided most excellent service! The Manager, Ms. Luna is a very special host, she's one of the most cheerful, happy go persons I've ever met. She has an excellent work ethic and is a rare jewel in the hospitality business. I watch how all the guests happily interacted with her during breakfast in what appeared to transform into a family atmosphere. I did not want to leave at check out time which has never, ever happen before. This hotels success is directly related to her efforts and if Best Western were to promote Ms. Luna to Vice President of hotel staff training, this hotel chain would soon become the most successful chain on the planet! I found that this hotel is a great place to stay as it was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accomodating. It was nice that it was a short walk to Applebee's restaurant and next door to a Harley Davidson Dealer.

It's a simple, friendly small town hotel. It's right by a McDonald's and a gas station - but far enough that there's no noise or anything to worry about. The complimentary breakfast was filling. And they always had coffee and cookies ready for travelers.

My wife and I needed to get off the roads due to white-out blizzard conditions. Fortunately we were near Albert Lea and a pocket of hotels. The first one we called was full, but the Best Western Plus had rooms. I must say the service was excellent! Ashley was working the desk and was doing a great job with the sudden influx of calls and reservations due to the blizzard. The staff gave great flexibility because of the storm with check-out times and the possibility of staying an extra day. The rooms were very clean. The tile in the bathrooms seemed to be a recent upgrade. The caulking in the bathroom was not even dirty. However, the bed was not comfortable. The sound from adjoining rooms was very loud. The guests above us could be heard walking around. Something was dropped on the floor and it sounded like thunder. I actually felt my bed move when the guest in the room next to us slammed into the wall at one point. The TV could not be adjusted to view the entire screen. I am technologically proficient but could not fix it. I believe it is because the feed was not in HD. We tried to watch the Wild hockey game and the entire score box was not visible. The breakfast was not good. The only egg option was pre-made hockey pucks made to go on a sandwich that are heated in the microwave. I don't even think they were made of egg. They were really bad. The old adage "any port in a storm" made this stay a miracle for us, as they filled up just after we arrived due to the blizzard. Jake's Pizza delivered even in the blizzard. The service was great and the rooms were clean, but the positives end there.

This is a very nice property, with good price we were very happy with this stay. From the front desk to the rooms, for the price its the place to stay. We will diffidently put it on our list of places to stay when we are traveling that way again.

This was my third visit to this hotel. The hotel is located off the beaten path but yet, it's right next to interstate 90 so easily accessible. Shipping, gas, restaurants, etc.are just around the corner. I can only speak for rooms located on the opposite side of the interstate -> they're quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good. The only downside to this hotel was the lack of a hot tub but the pool is very warm. I will be staying here again.

My 3 month stay was excellent! Staff was always friendly and helpful! Room always clean! breakfast was good. Coffee was excellent. Grab bars in showers a plus! I would recommend this to anyone! Location right off I90 and only a couple blocks from where I worked!

Clean room, wonderful breakfast, very friendly staff. When showering the water was very hot, a nice luxury. Beds had high end mattresses. Great location for travelers on interstate. Keurig in room was a nice surprise.

The location of this hotel is fabulous! Right off the interstate and easy to find. However, the hotel itself is loud and makes it hard to get a good night sleep. You can hear every noise (showers, people walking, beds from the other rooms, etc). The positives were the staff and location. Good for one night but no longer.

Very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Used the pool twice. Water was not cold! Had 3 double beds in our room which worked out great for 3 adults and 2 small kids. I've never seen a hotel room with 3 beds before. Room seemed pretty clean which means alot as I do not care to stay in hotels due to always feeling like the room is not clean. Would most certainly stay here again.

I usually just need to be alone and I choose this hotel because it's very clean and The staff is polite and helpful above and beyond. The food area always full and clean . I enjoy staying there Everytime I need to get away.

Recently stayed at the Albert Lea hotel, and found the service top-notch. Arrived at dark, no reservation, yet given a very comfortable and clean room- with an excellent bed. I slept for 9 hours straight! Found my receipt under the door. Was 15 minutes after breakfast cut-off time, still was able to serve myself cereal with non-dairy Almond milk and read a choice of two newspapers. Definitely worthwhile to stay here!

Very comfortable, clean and large room with a great bathroom. The hotel is well located and they offer a good continental breakfast. An extremely helpful front desk staff helps to provide a nice stay. Nothing to complain.

This place is awesome!!!! For the same price as a King room, we got the Jacuzzi King room. WOW, now that is the way to go!!.. The staff there were extremely delightful to talk with. They are friendly and always have a smile for you. The pool was very nice at the end of the day's drive. The breakfast is GREAT. The room is huge. The king bed was absolutely outstanding. Easy location off the highway. The ONLY BAD THING about our stay..... was that it was the last night of our road trip!!! We could have stayed longer and been pampered more than any other place on our 6 week ride!!! Keep up the great job you guys are doing. We will DEFINATELY be going back there whenever we pass through.

Room was spotless and comfortable. Bed and bedding was very comfy. Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast area was immaculate and there was an excellent variety of food choices and amounts. It was a fine stay!

Stayed one night while passing through. Stayed here because it was a convenient stop. Front desk clerk when we checked in was helpful. Had issues with the toilet. Called front desk and asked for a plunger to see if that would help. Room was average. Our view out the window was the roof of the entryway. Breakfast area was fairly small. On checkout the next day my spouse mentioned the toilet that had issues most of the time. Nothing more than an apology from front desk attendent and were told she would talk to a manager at some point about a possible discount. If going through the area again, will most likely check into a different option.

This past week my wife and I were traveling on vacation. It was Saturday night, and we had booked a night's lodging with the Best Western in Albert Lee, MN. My wife, who has developed a walking issue via breast cancer and it's after effects, sounded out to me a note of joy! The accommodations at that BW was one of the best for those with such issues in their bathroom facilities. The room we had (not really a handicap one) was more than adequate with handrails which enabled my wife to more safely and securely use the tub. Most have from zero to one rail...maybe. This room had not only a seat on the inside of the tub but multiple handrails. At the commode was also rails. Among the staff we talked to, she found them to be caring for her and her handicap. The bed was nice--not lumpy or bouncy like some I've encountered. The breakfast was more than adequate. But the face that my wife told me about the rails for her issues made the night 'handicap heaven' for us! And if (she) was happy, ( I ) surely was!

Stayed at this motel for a family event. Staff were friendly and allowed us to check in early and gave us a late check out. Our room was clean with the exception of the recliner. I would not recommend sitting in the chair. Haha It was a standard room with a small fridge, microwave, iron, blow dryer (hidden in the closet), Wi-Fi, etc. They pool was nice. They had gathering/conference room. Every morning there was a standard continental breakfast. I thought the price was a little high but it seemed to be the going rate in town. It hit the basics of friendly staff and a clean room (other then the chair). I reported the cleanliness of the chair so hopefully they will take care of it.

I found no faults with this BW. From the receptionist to the breakfast attendee. All 5 star! Rooms were large, beds comfy, baths clean. One of the nicest hotels I have used. Price reasonable, small town but conveniently located.

This hotel is a easy on/off the interstate and there is access to many nice restaurants and many other places. Clean and great staff to help you no matter what you might need. Parking is kinda small but it could be worse.

Nice place to stay with friendly management and staff at very fair prices. The whirlpool king rooms are the same price as a regular king. Great deal; just reserve early. The location is just off I-90 with many eating places and gas stations.

We usually don't seek out Best Western hotels, but this was a one nighter. Rates quoted on the phone were higher than on their web site even though she assured me her rate was the correct rate-not true. Room was clean and generally well maintained. Did seem like the room was a little dated, but since we did not spend much time there, it was no big deal. Nothing fancy, but definitely adequate. Breakfast was the usual basic fare. Staff was friendly and attentive. Check in and out was a breeze. Would definitely stay there again when passing through.

My room, 126, was filthy. Bathroom floor had grunge in the corners and the carpeting had sticky spots on it. Had to wear our socks due to the dirt and we found that they would be pulled when stepping near the bed and by the door on these areas...eww. As nice as CI&S usually are, this was below par. As a final issue our room was near the ground AC units which we heard turn on throughout the night. Not the best night weve spent on the road. That said, the staff was very friendly and professional at all times. Unless the other rooms are better, Id recommend people look elsewhere for a night stay.

The service is the best we've experienced on our cross country trip. Room was clean with everything listed in their amenities. All day coffee and fresh cookies. Breakfast was satisfying. Plan to stay again.

Great room, comfortable bed, convenient location just one minute off of I-90 near gas and free breakfast. It was bike week and I arrived after midnight, very tired with no reservation. They had only one room left and I was glad to stop driving. the room was clean and cozy with microwave and fridge and a keurig with k-cups. The staff was very nice, offered me a discount on the room and immediately asked if I wanted late checkout because I was so late arriving. I would stay here again. There was a pool but I did not get a chance to have a look at it.

This hotel was great for the night. Everything was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast in the morning offered many different options. Right off the expressway, so easy access. You can hear the expressway during the night, so request a room facing the parking lot if you want a bit quieter. However, it did not disturb our sleeping. We would definitely stay again if we were ever out this way.

My wife and I stayed here on the way home from Chicago. We loved the location and were thrilled to find out that the World's Largest Covered Wagon is on the property too! The rooms were newly renovated and the staff was very friendly.

Although I was not impressed with Albert Lea, I was impressed by this hotel, (maybe because it appears newer). The room was large and clean with adequate lighting. There were extra towel sets (i.e. more than 2 sets). Our room faced a parking lot/shopping mall and was not noisy. Everything (TV, refrigerator, microwave, iron) worked fine. Did not use WiFi. Shopping mall had grocery to get food for dinner. Breakfast was average BW fare and was well supplied.

Separate shower and toilet. Basins are in bedroom. Seriously awkard if you seek privacy. The only time I have seen this arrangement was once when I had no other choice than a Motel 6. Lighting is daylight LED bulbs so is not exactly pleasant. TV is cheap brand and either defective or worn out. The view is directly onto Interstate 90 with truck traffic all night long. Truck traffic only slightly noisier than the air conditiong. Could be slightly better than a homeless shelter.

Stayed here on our way to South Dakota. Hotel looked very new and clean. Lots of parking and had everything you could want. Our room faced the parking lot as apposed to the interstate so it was quiet. Nice helpful staff both at check in and night. Breakfast was busy once it opened but enough food and coffee for everyone. Would stay again and recommend this location to other travelers.

Rooms in the back are quite noisy with the interstate. Weather was cool and you could open window. Very clean rooms, comfy beds. Nice area to walk dog. Little off main interstate, but quite nice. Nice breakfast sausage, eggs, waffles.

GREAT HOTEL! FANTASTIC VALUE! AAA DISCOUNT TOO! On the way to the Bad Lands Distillery for an exclusive tasting of the all New Gumbo Chocolate and Caramel Flavors. Can't wait to taste the Latte and the Honey. Oh and then Special Reserve......Perfect midway stop point. Rooms were fresh and clean and the continental breakfast was fresh. Eggs, Sausage and biscuits. Fresh fruit and everything you need for an easy quick meal early. Coffee was fresh too! Soft pillows…. Easy in and easy out right next to the interstate. I will stay here again Only 422 Miles from the Distillery at exit 150 and 541 Miles to Sturgis SD

Rooms are nice. Breakfast was the usual hotel stuff. The pool was kind of small. I had it to myself so it wasn't an issue. The main thing is the noise. The hotel is right next to I90. I mean it had to have been built as close as it legally could to it. It is literally feet from it. We get checked in and they put us on the interstate side. We noticed the noise and requested to be moved. They agreed with no problems and they moved us to the first floor but away from the highway. Now we can hear the upstairs occupants walking around their room. The building must have been cheaply built because normally you don't notice this in hotels. So if noise bothers you, top floor, front side is your best bet. Other than that, no complaints. It was a nice place.

I go to MN a couple of times a year, and stay here when rooms are available. Amy (Mgr) is great, in fact all the staff are above average! Quiet rooms with a great breakfast in the morning. Motel is close to both I-90 and I-35, has decent dining/shopping nearby.

Great value for a group setting. Hy-Vee close by for the forgotten stuff. Used the BBQ grill while there for a last night picnic and it was a great hit! Ashley at the desk in the evening was a great help for anything that our group needed! Wish we could have that service at all of our outings..

This hotel has a lot going for it, but one very big flaw. It's fairly new and the employees we encountered during our visit were excellent and very customer oriented. But, the modular construction of the hotel means if you stay on the first floor, you will hear every little footstep from the people in the room above you. We have stayed on the first floor of numerous hotels, but this is the worst noise we have ever encountered. The people above us had a child who ran around the room nonstop from 8pm to midnight. It was very unpleasant. I'm not sure there is any sound deadening between the floors. Other than that, which is a very big thing, the hotel was good. Breakfast was fine, other than the breakfast area being a little small. The room was nice and clean and well stocked with toiletries.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, with comfortable bed and pillows and included a fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. The only issues preventing a 5 star rating included a slow draining sink, a low definition TV service, and a remote control that failed forcing use of the buttons on the side of the TV late at night. Plenty of services nearby including food, grocery, fuel, car wash, and Caribou coffee. Fast and easy access to I90. I would definitely stay here again. AAA rates.

Had a quick weekend with my daughters for Mother's Day. This was a halfway point for everyone. Service at check in was very professional and friendly. Used the pool during our stay, it was very nice. Location was easy on/off from I-90 and close to restaurants, shopping, and fuel. We will stay here again.

This hotel was amazing with service and comfort. I will be staying here again if in the area in the future. The hotel was clean, they had free parking, the rate was great. Would recommend if you are in the area to stay here. The rooms offered more room than the Hampton Inn we recently stayed at. They also serve a free breakfast with hot options.

The staff was very attentive to our comfort during our stay. Breakfast was clean and well stocked. It also offered gluten free bread and almond milk. Great stay here. It was not right off of I 35 but was only about a mile away.

My go-to hotel in Albert Lea. Good services within easy walking distance, friendly and helpful staff, large, clean, nicely furnished rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast has a good range of options for one or two days, although more healthy alternatives and some variety in the hot selections would be desirable for longer stays.

This hotel has been by far the best we have stayed in, in Albert Lea. The room was big and comfortable. It had a sofa bed, king sized bed, coffee table, microwave, fridge and large desk. We had family come out to visit and, there was more than enough room for everyone. Breakfast had plenty of choices. Dorothy was fantastic at keeping things stocked. Amy and her front desk always made us feel like family. Helpful, is an understatement! Barbie and housekeeping staff stayed right on top of things. Maintenance immediately brought us a new fridge and fixed a broken dresser drawer. We would 100% stay here again. Thank you all staff at the Best Western Plus in Albert Lea, MN. This hotel is EXCELLENT, the manager and all the staff are all very very friendly and family orientated and it matched the rest of the hotel from the nice warm breakfast in morning, to warm cookies in the afternoon, to a clean room, everything was great. the pool was nice and warm so that was a big plus also, I will definelty be back here.

We were given a room with a dirty shower and toilet, and used tissue on the floor. We requested to be moved, after the kids had fallen asleep, which they gladly offered. The worst part was something beyond the staff's control. The traffic noise from I- 90 was horrible. I woke up at 5:41, and could not get back to sleep, it felt like I was in a tent in the median, with non-stop trucks passing me. Our family would not go back, but to be fair, the staff was extremely friendly. Especially Amy.

I was in albert Lea on business. Due to vehicle problems had to lay over for 3 days. Was given a large ,spacious room. The room was nicely furnished, included a couch and writing desk. Bed was excellent, great mattress and linens. The location was excellent, grocery store and restaurants close by. Due to no fault of staff, as they addressed this issue, many times my stay was ruined. A child's hockey team was also occupying the hotel These children ran up and down hallways, yelling and running through the hallway, resembling a buffalo stampede. At one point the girl at desk found them on the second floor, playing ball in the hallway. The desk and myself asked these kids numerous times to return to thier rooms, they were disturbing other guests. This went on for 2 days, except the few hours they were gone to thier game. Where were the chaperones? Perhaps at Applebee's sipping martinis? Certainly not proper supervision. Not hotels fault but it disrupted my whole stay.

It was a cold ,windy day. We were ready to get into a warm place on our long trip to California. The hotel was easy access off I 35 on I 90 west. The front desk greeted us with a smile and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Our room was warm and comfortable with a KING bed and a sofa at the very end of the hall. It was New Years Eve and we were thankful where the room was . We knew it might be a busy night with guests returning from party's. The breakfast was good. It was a bit cold in the area it was served in because of the cold air coming in from the front door . It was minus 22 that morning with a powerful wind . The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. It will be our stop again when we go through he area. Our room faced the highway but we heard very little traffic noise.Their are some good restaurants close by.

The stay was very comfortable; We arrived very late due to weather but staff was very nice when we called to inform saying everyone was coming in later than expected and to drive safely. room comfortable, internet easy to access. Breakfast very satisfying and check out easy. All staff accommodating and friendly.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. The price was excellent for the quality of our stay. We checked in very late (after midnight), but were still quickly and warmly welcomed. We also had our dogs with us, but that was no problem. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to family passing through Albert Lea in the future.

This was a very nice Best Western for the price! I rarely say that. The room was clean, nicely decorated and very large. We did not use the fitness room or the pool. The breakfast was more than enough! The employees were all very helpful and friendly!

Everything was perfect. I used to regularly stay at another well known chain but after a couple of bad experiences regarding the use of reward s points I switched to Best Western and have been extremely pleased with my accomidations. This is the 1st time Iused rewards points for my room at a best western and found the experience to be top notch.

The young man at the front desk started the stay off perfectly with his helpfulness. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was great. Our bulldogs were welcomed. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent experience! Friendly staff and comfortable accommodations. Breakfast was the best we have had at any other motels. Our room was vary clean and the motel was located close to other shopping and restaurants. Easy on/off the expressway. Highly recommend!

The staff seems nice. The room assigned to us is OK. And the manager will likely justify that she gave our group a nice discount. But 2 consecutive nights of not sleeping in 2 different room because the A/C is not working in the middle of August; slow drain on the tub in our first room & then being witnessed to a disgusting drain plug after the handyman pulled it out in front of us & showed it full of disgusting hair & gunk; & housekeeping forgot to clean your room even though it showed "cleaned" in their log then don't you think the best thing to do is to give you credit for the 2 nights you didn't get the rest which is that you're paying for in the first place (we were there for 3 nights for a family event). The manager seems to think 1 night of credit is perfectly fine. The handyman admitted that they've been having problems with their A/C since they switched to another vendor. We told him that another family member had problems with the room A/C. Oh, and some staff lied by saying that front desk person was breastfeeding that's why the front desk is unattended during the peak of check-out time & the manager later on says that the person was actually in the back doing some paperwork. Unprofessional. Seems chaotic. Don't understand the high ratings. It was really bad.

Room was nice but work out room was not good at all! Weight machine broken television broken bicycle and elliptical are really just there to look at as they are poor poor quality and don't work! The treadmill works but not very well! Overall hotel was nice other then the work out room!

Very nice BW and great staff. The location is perfect for getting on and off Rt 90. Close to restaurants and fuel. Well worth the value. I was traveling with 2 dogs and the site was dog friendly and helpful.

Most aspects of this hotel are very good to excellent, BUT the road noise from the freeway brought the rating way down. The hotel is too close to the freeway! The staff are great, though. I doubt I'll be back, but you never know.

We had a great experience at the Best Western Plus Albert Lea Hotel. There was training of a new desk person going on as we checked in and the young man did a great job taking care of us. The training person was right there but did not have to help. The room was great and the breakfast exactly what we expected. The Chocolate Chip Cookies were SUPER>

After a long day on the motorcycle, my husband & I lucked-out in getting a room with a hot tub! What a great way to end the day! The hotel was clean & the staff courteous. We will stay again when we are in the area. Very reasonable rates.

We were in a 1st floor room that had a whirlpool tub that took up a huge amount of space. The ventilation in our room would not turn on so we had no heat, AC or fan. This was an issue that prevented us from using the fan as white noise so that we could sleep. We were treated to hearing the person above us & everyone in the hall & pantry area.... not a good nights sleep. Breakfast was nothing special but the coffee was good. The staff member who checked us in obviously didn't want to be there. He barely went through the motions of checking us in. Next time we'll look elsewhere for accommodations.

the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. the waffles were delicious. the room we stayed in was quit even when people were in the hallway. if your traveling by there it's worth staying here.

A lovely Best Western. Great lobby, great room, great breakfast, and great value. The receptionist, Ashley was very sweet. With no reservations, she still gave me a super room which met our needs. Breakfast was ample. Lots of food. Bright, cheerful, upbeat facility. Nice clientele. I thoroughly enjoyed this Best Western. Absolutely delightful!

Great place to stay. Very nice . Lots of choices to pick from for breakfast. hot and cold to pick from. Easy on and off highway and right next to a Harley store too. Has a pool but didn't use. Beds were very comfy.

Lovely staff, very helpful and courteous. Room was huge including a corner spa bath. Though this didn't work as I thought, just squirted instead of pumping through. Never mind the shower worked fine! An overnight stay for us as on the way home via Minneapolis and that was fine as there didn't seem to be a lot to see in that area. But the hotel was clean, breakfast was nice and staff were lovely!

We stayed one night on our way through to visit friends and family in Wisconsin and Michigan. This BW was located conveniently close to the highway. There were several fast food type places located within sight. Applebees is close enough to walk. There is a grocery store within the block where you can get snacks, fruit and maybe some aspirin. We enjoyed our stay.

We have been on the road since Sept 11th and on our way back home. This was by far one of the best places we stayed at. The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one. From fixing the TV remote and box, to recommendations for stores, to welcoming you at the start of your day and ensuring all your breakfast needs are taken care of. Kudos to Best Western for hiring these ladies and giving exceptional customer service. They take pride in their work. Something you don't see very often these days. We highly recommend this hotel to stay.

We stayed at this hotel one night on the way to an adult sibling couples reunion and Vikings game. We have never stayed at Best Western, but selected this hotel after reading so many great reviews on TripAdvisor. We obviously had a high level of expectation... And this hotel did not disappoint! The hotel was so amazingly clean, all staff friendly and respectful, including every single housekeeping staff member we passed by! We decided to stop early and stay again on our way home! Breakfast food was well maintained by friendly, yet efficient women. The food was good quality for complimentary breakfast. Bed and pillows were clean and firm, allowing restful nights' sleep. No noise. We will definitely plan our future travel routes to include this stay! However... Don't make the same assumption as us. We erroneously thought this must be the quality level of all Best Western hotels. (Read my upcoming review of the Best Western Plus in Des Moines/Clive - like day and night in quality.)

Hotel is fairly new and in great condition. The only negative is the eating area for breakfast is very small. Also, moderate traffic noise if your room is on the back side of the hotel. Other than that, the location is convenient and the room and hotel were very nice.

We were moving and couldn't find a hotel that was reasonably priced in the town before so we booked this one online out of desperation. We were very pleased - clean, neat, friendly, comfortable bed and easy in/out. It was also a great value. I'd stay again at another Best Western Plus to see if they are all this nice.

Thought the motel was pretty much a very nice place to stay with the proper amount of amenities to make your stay very comfortable. Pool was nicely done. Desk personnel was friendly and efficient. We were just traveling through, but I would go out of my way to stay there again. For the price, it is one of the best motels I have stayed at for several years.

Good stopover location en route from Jackson Hole to Chicago. Very close to I90 do a bit noisy. Smoking odour in room even after ozone treatment. Close to Applebee's for a late dinner up till midnight.

One of the most enjoyable stays my wife and I have had at Best Western. We try to use this chain exclusively during trips. We get the best service and care for the money we spend. Staff at Best Westerns seem to be superior to other chains we have stayed at. A real joy to use Best Western.

Our son had traveled through Albert Lea on his way home and stayed at this hotel. He recommended it for the return trip. Hotel is conveniently near the interstate, gas stations and grocery. It's an attractive hotel.

This was a good facility, very conveniently located just off the highway. The staff was very friendly and room was very clean. There was one problem. The breakfast area is very small. Five tables in a hotel this size does not seem reasonable. The breakfast offering was OK but it would have been nice to have a place to sit.

This young woman who is starting her life with a young 3 year old all on her own, could be president of Best Western. She is amazing in her demeanor, politeness, ability to fix anything electronic and handle the front desk at the same time. I told her she is unique and I would hire her in a heartbeat if I needed an employee. She needs to believe she can be anything and do anything and nothing can keep her back. I so admire this young woman and so does my husband.

This is a perfectly adequate mid-range hotel. It's conveniently close to I-90, and the price was acceptable. I arrived fairly late and very tired, and the room was hot and the A/C not working when I arrived. With some help from the front desk staff, it was coaxed into working. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. There wasn't much soundproofing between floors, so I was able to hear the people in the room above me walking around. I generally skip complimentary breakfasts, but did try this one for reasons of convenience. It was about what you would expect, plus a couple of hot items. Biscuits and gravy always makes me happy. The wi-fi was lagging a bit in the morning, which made working on my computer slow and annoying. For a night to break up a long road trip, it was fine.

I would recommend this motel to anyone looking in the Albert Lea area. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean and very pleasant to stay in. The beds were comfortable. For those of you who enjoy Harley stores, there is on next door.

The hotel and rooms have been nicely updated. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. Friendly, welcoming staff. Beds could have been softer. Good breakfast, could be to go if needed. In an area easy off and on the freeway. Gas and convenience items close by.

No Problems here at this Best Western Plus ever, there is a Harley Davidson dealer next store. Nearby a Applebees within walking distance, and some fast food nearby, a 24 hour HY Vee supermarket. Has indoor swimming pool and gym, we did not use. plenty of parking, even for truck and trailers, if you have pickup and trailer. Not very large breakfast area, but you can take to your room, probably about 6-8 tables, but you usually don't have to wait for a table. Highly recommemd. We stay he frequently at least 1 time a year.

Very pleasant stay. We did not have reservations but they were very accommodating. The hotel was very clean and the staff was courteous and friendly. We arrived on motorcycles and therefore thought we might be treated differently but quite the contrary happened.

Nice hotel right near the highways. Easy and convenient. Front desk very nice and polite. Clean rooms and comfy bed!! Breakfast ok (normal fare) seating area congested and to small (5 sm. Tables) but you can take back to your room if you want. Elevator is literally in a small room (not the easiest to navigate with a few bags). Is a good little waypoint hotel - I would stay again.

I have stayed here three time now and it is quite with friendly and helpful staff. Restaurants close by along with shopping. If you are on two wheels the Harley Davidson shop is right next door. Travel safe.

This is the first time we ever stayed at this hotel, if we are ever in that area again you can bet we will stay at this BW.The service was great, the breakfast food was very good, some of the best we have had in a long time. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

That's all we were looking for... a good nights sleep... and we got it! Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We worried because we were right by the elevator, but it was quiet! Breakfast was the 'normal' quick hotel fare... fresh fruit was ample!

Would recommend to others. Nice clean rooms, nice small pool, typical motel breakfast but with a few added things like tiny M&Ms and nuts for waffle toppings. Very pleasant staff. Large parking lot and good location right off the interstate which made it easy to find and park.

Stayed here 7/20/17 for one night. Ez on & off I90. Clean and comfortable. Room was spotless. Booking was easy. Girl at check in was really nice and helpful. Rate was reasonable. A few restaurants and other stores nearby. All in all a great stop!!

Fine for a one night stay nothing bad or great. Black hairs in bathroom but otherwise clean, however ick to the hairs. We had been driving for a long time and were tired. I wouldn't stay here for a week but overnight was fine.

We like to stay at Best Western because they welcome dogs, the price is always fair, and the hotel is very clean. The breakfast was very good, they had two kinds of waffles you could make, which was a pleasant surprise. All kinds of choices for cold breakfast along with eggs and sausage and biscuits and gravey. The manager, Amy, was so sweet, and made me feel like family. I hope to keep coming back each year I travel this way.

Gnats in the room. Bed incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable. Walls thin. Decor tired and dated. Priced too high for the experience. And their hot breakfast is simply gravy, everything else cold. Desk help dishoveled appearance as if we woke him up from sleeping and he was mumbling curt responses to guests.

The room was excellent, check-in was fast and pleasant. Breakfast was great. Good variety, hot and flavorful. The pool was nice and relaxing, albeit a bit crowded. Amy was a delight, there was a problem with the billing of the first night, but she corrected it quickly with little trouble. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed one night on our family trip out west. After a 12 hour drive from our home in Ohio, this was a comfortable place to spend a night. Located just off I-90, it was very accessible. We appreciated the friendly and accommodating front desk staff, a clean room with comfortable beds, a quiet street to walk and stretch our legs, a nice warm pool for a swim before bed, and a delicious breakfast the next AM. Would return if our travels bring us this way again!

Great place to get away from life to get some work done. The rooms are clean, and mid week the place is very quiet. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good. The hotel is easy to get to at the intersection of Interstate 35 and 90. Good places to eat nearby

This was the first time I have gone through or to Albert Lea, MN when I haven't been traveling through blizzard like conditions all day. On this most recent trip I learned whether you stay here in the bleak mid-winter or a hot humid day in June the staff makes you feel at home. I chose to stay here overnight before visiting the SPAM Museum in nearby Austin, MN the next day. My room was clean and quiet & the bed quite comfortable after driving all day. The coffee they serve is excellent and I saw that it is brewed in Albert Lea. I asked the Desk Clerk where I could by some to take home and she found the address of the factory but another staff member offered that they also sell it at the nearby Travel Center which was even better. They could have just shrugged their shoulders and said "We don't know" when I inquired after buying the coffee but they'll always go out of their way here to make their customers stay a positive one.

Again we weren't disappointed by this Best Western. we stay here on our drive home every Spring. Very nice location for walking our dog. Room clean and welcoming. Very comfortable nights stay. Staff very friendly.

Try to get the highest floor here. This hotel appears to be wood construction and therefore the floors creak when people above you return late at night. i.e. - Sleep quality is poor. The place is very clean. Service is good. Breakfast is typical.

The front desk check in employee was courteous and helpful. My room was nice. I loved the hot tub in my room and I was located directly across from the pool and exercise room. Everything was clean. I found that the housekeeping staff was professional and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. General Manager, Amy Luna, was particularly helpful on several issues including making recommendations for local places to go for essential services (pedicures, shopping etc.)The freshly baked cookies in the evening were an especially nice touch. Breakfast in the mornings was adequate, and the arena was kept clean and well stocked. I was very happy to see they even had almond milk. The one negative and boy was it a big one, were the people in the room above me. The noise, the stomping of the feet. It sounded like the room above me was rented to a troop of clog dancers and that they liked to practice starting at about 5:30 in the mornings. Thankfully, they soon checked out. I think perhaps this noise disturbance is directly related to poor soundproofing on the part of the building construction. I would definitely stay here again. But next time, on the second floor.

I would recommend this hotel for an overnight. The breakfast bar is in very cramped quarters but manageable. Friendly staff on check in but on check out the lady didn't have a clue what was going on. She got flustered with my request to use my points to pay for the room. Didn't think it was a big deal but....I would stay here again.

This hotel is a newer hotel just off I-90. The rooms were clean and well kept. The grounds were in excellent condition and parking lot was pothole free. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was above ave which included an option to make your own breakfast sandwich.The only downside and it's not the hotels fault is the area doesn't have local dining only Applebee's McDonald's Hy-Vee etc and a half empty mall which did contain an older movie theater. A good place to stay with good people.

Great staff and service will be staying here next trip though, pool was warm and the room was very clean, the young lady at the front desk upon check in was very pleasant to talk to and professional. access to the hotel was very easy from the highway and close to stores and a variety of restaurants

Our room was clean, comfortable and roomy. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will always choose a Best Western when we have the choice and this one is very nice. If you are looking for a nice room at a reasonable price, this one should be your choice.

We stayed here last night and had a great stay. We needed a rollaway so they put us in a larger room which fit the 5 of us perfectly. Amy at check in was very friendly, Pam set out some bagels for us ahead of schedule so we could get on the road, and Jedediah entertained us with some stories and book recommendations while we had our coffee. The location is perfect, right on the interstate. We would definitely stay here again; thanks for great service!

Good breakfast, clean, comfy room. Pool a plus. First floor request honored. Variety of food and services nearby. Late checkout request honored. Hot breakfast had breakfast meat and not just biscuits and gravy (ugh!). As with most places, weekday breakfast could be extended until 9:30 am

Passing through on way to Wisconsin. Our room was clean, staff friendly, breakfast was the usual egg, sausage, breads, cereal,waffles yogurt,bananas and apples. Cookies out in lobby in late afternoon along with the coffee that is always available. Small patio out front with a few tables and a small BBQ for guest use. We walked to Applebee's & grocery store across the street & there's a McDonalds across from hotel, all an easy walk.

Consistent quality, cleanliness, caring attitudes, and overall excellence! Great choice if passing through or touring around. Warm cookies checking in are a GREAT bonus as well!!! PLUS property for sure!!

I stayed at this hotel for nearly an entire month. I had no significant complaints the entire time, only minor things. All of the staff I dealt with at this hotel were friendly and helpful. My room was thoroughly cleaned and tidied up each day that I stayed. The room itself was spacious and included a mini living room setup with a full couch (a sleeper) and a coffee table. There was also a large desk in the room and also a good size modern flat screen hd tv. I also had a microwave and a refrigerator in my room. The bathroom facilities were fine. Nothing went wrong there. My bed was huge and rather comfy, with plenty of pillows. So I stayed here for nearly a month, as I said, and each day, the front desk manager and staff made me feel welcome and appreciated, and everyone was accomodating and reliable. Even the cleaning crew and breakfast attendants were friendly. This place is not fancy or upscale, but it did everything I needed, and far better than a lot of fancy places I have stayed in. All style and no heart is not my thing. This Best Western is the opposite: all heart and a demonstrated commitment to doing things the right way, and it shows. As a guest, I felt appreciated, comfortable, and I was thoroughly satisfied. All in all, I had a great experience and I would definitely stay here again, and I hope to.

This hotel isn't the newest and shiniest hotel we've ever visited, but it was clean and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The check-in process was smooth and quick. Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in the 3 double bed room which sleeps 6 for the same price as the 2 queen bed rooms. For our family of 5, this was fantastic - hotel rooms usually feel a bit cramped. The beds and bedding look new. The curtains and fixtures in the room itself aren't super new and updated, but everything was clean. It also had an in room refrigerator (slightly larger than most hotel rooms would have). I'd pick this hotel again if we're ever in the area. The pool area is clean and they have a stash of pool toys for guests to use. They have coffee and hot water for tea/hot cocoa/cider out all day, and they put out fresh sugar cookies in the late afternoon. That was a nice treat. We didn't use the fitness room, but it's just a small room with mostly cardio (a few bikes, a treadmill, and a piece of weightlifting equipment). Breakfast was nice - a few hot items, waffles, and some cold items. The hot items were sausage patties, egg omelette rounds, sausage gravy, and biscuits. There were strawberry and plain waffles (with the waffle maker), whipped cream and a few toppings for the waffles. The hard boiled eggs were peeled and fresh, the bread/bagels/english muffins were all wrapped up in plastic so they weren't stale. Everything was fresh and tasty. Checkout was easy (I just told them we were checking out on our way out). Overall, it was a great experience and we'd go out of our way to stay here the next time we travel through the area.

This pet friendly hotel is right off the freeway and easy to get to in a rather odd industrial/hotel/fast food mixed area. Our room was very clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast offered many good selections plus coffee, hot chocolate and cookies offered free 24/7 along with the newspaper - a nice feature. Friendly staff rounded out the good quality of our stay. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.

This was a pretty nice hotel and easy to find. The room seemed clean and the beds were comfortable. The walls seemed pretty thin, but we put the fan on, so we slept good. Breakfast was pretty good also.

I had already made reservation at the Best Western at Albert Lea to break up a ten hour drive home instead of doing it in one day. I was glad I did as my 5 hour trip to Albert Lea turned into an 8 hour trip due to a snowstorm. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff when I checked in and checked out was super. I would recommend this Best Western under any circumstances. The breakfast was tasty and included eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy in addition to the usual fare of waffles, cereals, breads, yogurt, etc.

My stay at the Best Western was very good. Great staff and room. Arrived late at night and the staff was helpful and had all check in paper work ready so I could get to my room quickly! Check out was quick and easy. Was easy to locate along the interstate.

Very nice hotel. Everything was neat and clean. The breakfast buffet was perfect. The staff were friendly. The location is very handy. I would highly recommend for travelers, families, and those with pets.

The room and common areas were very clean. There was a hockey team there that were a little loud but they calmed down early and the hotel was not responsible. The breakfast was great and there was a large variety. The bed was a little soft for me but my husband loved it. Good pillows!!

Super curtious pleasent staff. Clean quiet comfortable room. Extremely affordable! Free breakfast had many options and breakfast area was very clean. I highly recommend this best western to any traveler searching for a good nights rest.

We were in corner room on the first floor next to the stairs. We could hear every move made by the people above us. They were up until 1:00 or so walking around. The front desk person who checked us in was very pleasant and gave us a great suggestion for dinner. I would consider passing it up though if you need a good nights sleep.

Arrived to find that the pool and hot tub were closed due to renovations. We were told we could use the pool and hot tub next door. Didn't feel like walking across one parking lot to another, and back in wet suits. We checked in, had a room on the second floor which was fine, since they have an elevator. Went to supper and return to find the elevator not working, and didn't work the rest of the weekend. I am 68 years old, with asthma, sure didn't appreciate that. On Sat. returned to the hotel from shopping and asked about cookies, around 2'30 p.m. We were told they were in the oven. Checked back 20 minutes later, still not out. Checked back at 3:19, told they would not be put out until 3'30. On Sunday morning, went down at 9:30 for breakfast. Out of Orange Juice, Syrup, waffle batter, and sausage. Everything was replenished, but did take a while. We were told that they were booked solid, and I do understand that, but the person manning the area wasn't around. The front desk clerk had to come and help stock things. Nothing was taken off our bill, and certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel, and won't use it again. I understand things happen, but feel that things should have been handled differently. One thing is acceptable, but just seemed that there were too many things...........

Excellent stay clean and decent service, we stay at these hotels because of their clean and professional manner. I hope to stay at this hotel again the staff was excellent and so was the spa. These hotels are always a nice choice

Hotel undergoing remodeling ... not sure what they're going for as the new carpet looks very modern and doesn't go with rest but maybe it will look good when done. When checked in I asked about getting a better price because price on hotel website was better than my reservation when I checked. Front desk refused saying they are sold out and that "they took down availability" from website. Well they didn't because I saw it. We didn't want to hassle with finding another place so took the room but wish the front desk was more sympathetic vs. acting annoyed and almost aggressive. Room was ok. Decent size and clean. Separate room for bath/toilet vs. sink (and the bathroom had a fan, which is something I wish all hotels had) but light switch was outside of the room and there was no night light so not very convenient for guests who have to go in the middle of the night. Convenient for travelers; right off 90 with an Applebee's, McD's and food store within walking distance.

This was a great choice for us. We needed a place for the night on our way to the Black Hills. We found this on-line as we were travelling. The hotel had good reviews and an affordable rate. We were not disappointed!

Arrived approximately 2:30 pm, heading westbound at the start of our trip. No one at the counter to check in. We waited 10 minutes or so and then left. Even rang the bell on the counter a few times, nothing. Came back around 4:30 and there was a woman at the counter. Check in was quick but I had requested an upper floor room and we received a lower floor. When I questioned this, as the parking lot was still more than half empty, she said that the computer picks the rooms so that is why they cannot guarantee that a request will be met. Our stop a week later, heading home, was much better. Service was quick and we received an upstairs room. Breakfast on both occasions was good and the room was clean. I would stay here again as the price made up for the lack of service on our first arrival. I would rate the first stay as a 3 and the 2nd stay as a 5, so that is why I gave it an overall rating of 4.

I booked it on line not knowing what to expect but was pleasantly surprised to find a really nice place. Newer and clean and comfortable at a reasonable rate. My only beef is that there's no ice machine on the second floor, minor but inconvenient since you have to go to the first floor, middle. The breakfast is like all the rest, average at best.

We stopped for one night on our way to South Dakota. We were given a room (#230) intended for a disabled person so it was a little different from a standard room. Sink did not drain and the shower was difficult to use. It was on the highway side of the building so was a little noisy for a light sleeper. Quite small too. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking. Fridge and microwave. Short walk to Applebee's and Hy Vee supermarket. Gas station close by. Overall an OK experience but not as good as I expected from some of the reviews.

Our go to place traveling back and forth between South Dakota and Indiana. They have upgraded and updated this hotel. New items on the breakfast menu. Very nice and clean and comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly. And our points were put on our account.

Let me explain the title of this review. For one night this hotel is very good, I wouldn't want it to be my multi night destination hotel, then it would be average. Often hotels on the interstate are pretty bad. This hotel has new carpeting, beds and bedding. The check in went smooth and quick and cookies were set out for guests. We didn't stay for breakfast so can't rate that but the eating area is amazingly small. The reason we didn't stay for breakfast is the hotel had no tv or internet service due to storms from the time we arrived (4:30p) until we gave up hope of ever getting it and went to bed at 7:30p So woke up early and left. We thought they should have taken a few bucks off the price of the room but they didn't. The bathroom sink is outside that room which I don't like as is the bathroom light switch, which is annoying. The a/c unit made an annoying buzzing sound every time it went through its cycle.They should replace the towels which are worn. Still it's the best place we have stayed at in the area and would stay here again for a night when passing through.

This was a nice place. Room was very comfy and the breakfast selections were an added bonus. I thought this was reasonably priced for the quality of accommodations, we stayed in a whirlpool room. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here on our last night of the road trip, and it was very comfortable. They offer complimentary tea/coffee and freshly baked biscuits in the reception area... Which is also the breakfast dinning area. With only 5 tables it makes it very cozy. Tip: avoid taking a room with a connecting door as sound travels

We are from Florida, in our mid sixties and travel by car extensively and I am a retired travel agent. We stay in all kinds of hotels. We stopped at this hotel on our way out west. What a good surprise!! The people were great, the room was huge and had been recently refurbished. We had a king suite with a sofa, microwave and frig. The price was very good!! It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay there again if we are up that way.

This hotel was an ok option to stay at, from what I read online people either destroy a place or make it seem wonder and then your disappointed, which this is neither. It's a place to stay with nice & helpful people working there.

this place is awesome. I booked via th BW website-cheaper than thru Priceline. The entire place was very clean, GREAT pillows - I have neck issues so I am a pillow expert! I paid $40 less than the hotel I stayed at a month earlier - that place was loud at night. The AC fan was good as well. Applebee's is a short walk away too. Next time I stay in AL, this is where I will stay!

This is a very nice Best Western convenient to an interchange on I-90, very comfortable with a friendly pleasant staff. Rooms are nice and breakfast was very good and well presented. We were on our way from Wisconsin to Rapid City South Dakota and this was a very nice place for an overnight.

Very kind staff, most attentive and helpful. Room was rather clean but plain--looked like some of it had been updated and some still needed to be done. The bed was very comfortable, however. Really nice TV. Not sure if the AC unit was working well; we were so tired and excited to almost be home, we honestly didn't care. They didn't have a luggage rack, which made us have to use all the other horizontal surfaces for suitcases.

This location is great to stay at. Just off I-90 and less than a mile from I 35W. Very clean. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful. Very reasonable to stay at as well. It's nice that they allow pets as well.

This Best Western has just been completely remodeled. New carpet, new mattresses in all rooms we were told. Our room was very comfortable, attractive and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Staff friendly, helpful and pleasant.

We stayed here on our way to Wisconsin. Newly renovated rooms helped make this a good overnight option in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Applebee's within walking distance made this even more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet had all of the typical hot and cold items. Pleasant front desk staff made us feel comfortable about our stay. Ask for a room away from I-90 for a quieter experience.

Excellent hotel! Only hotel on our entire 2-week trip with 3 double beds in one room. Brilliant! With a family of 5, this was such a nice treat. Room was clean and comfortable, and far nicer than several hotels we'd stayed at earlier in the week that cost twice as much. Fantastic value.

I would not stay here again. Confirmed room type does not mean anything to this motel. They suggested I go to another motel to try to find the type of room that THEY had confirmed to me. I feel that we should have been given the type of room that was confirmed by them. I would not have booked here if they had not offered the type of room I needed.

We stayed here for only one night during a family emergency. The hotel room that we were in was newly carpeted and very nice. There were 2 queen beds. We were given fresh cookies by the desk clerk as we checked in. We had to be up very early 4 a.m. because of surgery at the hospital so we asked for a wake up call which we were assured they would give us. Well, good thing we set our phone alarm because it never came. When we left at 4:30 there was no one at the desk. We called; no one came; and we left our room keys on the desk and left. Not happy about the super early morning staff (whoever it was). The room was fine. It is weird that the shampoo and soap isn't in the room with the tub and shower. Wash cloths also are hanging in the main room and not in the room with the tub. Seems strange.

Stopped here on the way through town. Seemed like new carpet and mattresses in the room. Very clean facility, nice friendly front desk staff too. Didn't partake of the breakfast but it appeared to be standard "business hotel" fare with eggs, waffles, fruit, etc. Would stay here again.

Nice rooms. However, A bit over priced as most hotels in Albert Lea area. We stayed only one night there. Nice breakfast area. I was glad to see hot tea as an option with the coffee. Comfortable beds, hot shower. Clean pool. Order a pizza from Jakes!

Overall hotel is OK. However, DUE TO NO FAULT OF OUR OWN, WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM FOR SEVERAL HOURS. We were on a time schedule. My son and I went to the pool while my husband went to pack car. Door lock malfunctioned and even staff couldn't get in. Nor maintenance. Had no cell phone to call anyone. No keys to go anyplace in car. No purse or wallet to buy anything. No towels at pool. Had no clothes to change into. So I got really pruny (rather than sit there and freeze). Staff did bring towels but no apology. I mentioned as we were finally running out hours behind schedule that a comp was in order. She offered me about $10 and said someone from management would CALL ME. They did not. I emailed the hotel 4 times, leaving a week or two in between and finally decided they did not care to address the issue or deal with a customer who may end up stopping in this area several times a year and will NEVER stay here again after this blatant lack of customer service and disregard for hotel guests! Really poor way to run a business!

its a clean, quick off the freeway, easy and staff was friendly loved the cookies in the evening, didn't get a chance to use the pool and there was no hot tub. all in all easy on and easy off of freeway. the value breakfast helps with getting back on the road for tavel

I made reservations well in advance for a weekend that was very busy with sporting events. On the day I was to check in I called to let them know I wouldn't be checking in until 9:00 p.m. They didn't have a reservation for me. When I said I had a confirmation number I was told my room was cancelled but they couldn't say by whom. - The only saving grace...They got me a room at a different hotel. Hmmm - perhaps that worked out better! I give 2 because I did get a room at the other hotel and was very satisfied with my stay there! :)

This was an easy place to find, just off the interstate, conveniently located. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and very close to many restaurants for your choice. Included breakfast was delicious. If in the area, this is a great place to stay and very reasonable rates.

Very pleasant stay, polite staff, good breakfast, overall, I will be making this hotel my place to stay overnight on my way back home from my Wyoming trips each summer. I have two small dogs, and they supply a good amount of outside areas to be able to walk them. Plenty of close places to eat, and a close gas station to fill up on in the morning. I also loved the fact that this gas station has a Caribou's next door.

Right off the highway. Clean room. But poor lighting in shower area. Our room had a good sized refrigerator, Kurig coffee maker, and microwave. I did hear the highway traffic all night long though. Comfortable beds. Lobby/breakfast area is small. Walking distance to grocery, gas station, restaurants. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean/small. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Traveling across across country on a family vacation-staff was super friendly (especially Donovan at the front desk!), rooms were clean, beds and pillows were very comfortable and the breakfast was good. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool and fresh late night cookies! **Wish they had lids for the coffee cups, though.

This hotel is going through some renovations so you have to be prepared for work going on around you. There is a strange odor in the hotel from all the new carpet they are putting down. Breakfast area was clean but very small and the selection is small. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There isn't much to choose from around here for lodging or food so this is a decent choice.

Upon Check-in was told no hot water & not sure when they would have it on, could only get 1 car at a time under carport due to large rolls of carpet laying there. Several parking spots taken by dumpsters and materials. B-fast area has 5 tables, 2 tables are almost touching counters, there is no comfortable way to eat in there. You are either being bumped, or waiting so long to get food it would be quicker and easier to go to McDonald's across the street! 200+ room hotel can NOT have such a small b-fast area & expect it to work- people got frustrated & just left!!

Very nice hotel. Staff at ch.eck-in was very friendly and helpful with interesting facts about Minnesota and its history and people. Room and amenties were very nice. Hotel was easy to find off expressway in convenient location. Breakfast was ok but sausages could have been more well done and browned. Nice set-up. would stay here again. Good value

We stopped at this Best Western on our way to Chicago. Great stop. Right off I90 E. Super clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds and pillows, and quiet. The breakfast was fresh and good, everything was well stocked, which was not the case at other stops we made along our trip. I highly recommend it.

I felt like I was staying at a Marriott. There was a Keurig in the room. I've never seen that anywhere. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Breakfast was yummy. A great road experience. I would stay here again!

The hotel was very good for the price, rooms were nice size and comfortable. Air condition was very good. The fitness center equipment was not working properly as the cables work not working on the machine. The breakfast was not as good as other Best Westerns that we stayed at. Location very good

Clean and friendly. Provided with a pet friendly room with easy access to exit door. Cookies provided for grandchildren and pet treats for dog. Easy checkout. Easy access from interstate with a McDonald's just a short walk away for a meal. Pool was very nice.

Motel was easy to find off the expressway. We were greeted warmly and were offered some delicious fresh baked cookies! It's a very clean and modern motel. Nice rooms with a micro wave and refrigerator. We had an excellent stay!!

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and have been so impressed with it. We had a great, clean room this time and the front desk employee was outstanding. However, the maids walked in on us without knocking and the breakfast area employee was plainly rude. I told her the milk pitchers needed to be refilled and she replied, "Well that's just too bad". She did refill them as we were leaving the breakfast area, probably 15 minutes later. I still believe this hotel is the best stay in Albert Lea- hopefully the staff can receive some more training in customer service.

This hotel was my home for 3 nights during my visit to Minnesota. I was greeted warmly and felt right at home. All the staff was friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely stay at this location again.

We're came to the best Western on our way home from Mount Rushmore. It is a very nice place and going through a new remodel. Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. Also all day long fresh cookies and coffee. I would recommended to all.

Clean & updated room, comfortable beds, nicely maintained property, friendly & fast service and outstanding, delicious breakfast with a wide variety of hearty choices. Only small negative - kids thought the pool was too small and the water was too warm and had an odd smell/taste on their lips.

Best Western Plus at Albert Lea was nicest place we stayed at on a 10 day trip to the west .The price was reasonable for what we received .It was located close to a shopping mall right off interstate . You not only get a really nice room but a good breakfast . A definite destination if in area .

The trip was for a family reunion at a nearby farm. Our family will get together usually once a year. My wife and I prefer staying in a hotel for comfort and privacy. It's easier than trying to stay with other family members.

Front desk person very friendly. Fresh cookies in the afternoon. A Kuerig coffee maker in my room - great idea. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was more than adequate. Parking was easy and the hotel is very close to the Interstate.

I was very happy with our stay at this Best Western. We were traveling as a family with our two dogs. The room was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate all of us. The room and hotel in general was clean The full hot breakfast was a nice bonus. My only complaint is that our bed had a distinct dip in the middle.

The service was great at this Hotel, rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable. The only problem we had was the upstairs guest was making a lot of noise late at night. It sounded like a child running back and forth, but we did not call the desk to complain so it was not the hotels fault. Next time, I will call so they can remedy the situation.

This was one of the best Best Western motels that I have visited. The staff was so kind and caring, going out of their way to make this a most pleasant experience. Extremely reasonable price, especially for a BW "Plus".

Good rate for the hotel but the mattress was soft and lumpy. The complimentary breakfast was good. This was a mid-point stop between Oklahoma and Michigan. The room a large Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom which was different in a good kind of way.

This hotel was extremely accommodating to us. We arrived with no reservation at 4:30 in the afternoon after having driven for 12 hours. The greeted us pleasantly and were able to get us a room with all of our requests. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was above average and the rooms and facilities were very clean and well kept. We will stay again at this Best Western Plus.

I had a very large group of people staying several days at the Best Western Plus is Albert Lea. We had constant changes and Amy and her staff were always very accommodating. There was always staff at the front desk who were cheery and helpful to our needs. If we had questions about needing stuff around town Amy was very knowledgeable and able to tell us where to go. My hotel room was very clean and looked to have been remodeled recently.

We had a nice one night stay.the hotel is nicely updated and comfortable.the lounge chair however is a different story.it has to be 20 years old and totally worn out.not typical of the rest of the hotel thankfully.the breakfast was good also.waffles,biscuits and gravy,round shaped eggs for breakfast sandwiches,and more.

The breakfast was wonderful--hot and full of variety. In fact, this is the first place I've ever been able to find Chia Tea in the depenser--thank you! And the lady whom check us out was oh so very friendly and polite. The check-in was fast and friendly also. We slept like a log.

Very friendly staff and hotel was in good shape. The king bed rooms are very nice for anyone on a business trip with plenty of room for a laptop to work on at night and even a recliner to relax on. The room overall had a good amount of space. I didn't have time to check the pool out but it look nice.

We've stayed at the Best Western several times on our way to see our daughter in college. Good halfway point. Amy at the front desk is always great to work with and the staff are always helpful making sure you have everything you need. The rooms are always clean and comfortable

This hotel was much better than the last one we chose in Albert Lea. It wasn't awesome but it was comfortable enough and pretty clean. The beds were nice but there were no real blankets just thin sheets and many layers of them. The room was a little small and the bathroom was just ok. The shower worked well and there was a keurig in the room which was a nice treat. Breakfast was average; no real "healthy" options besides apples and bananas. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay just fine.

Very good newer hotel with a very nice pool, nice helpful staff. Bedding smelt clean as soon as we walked into the room, unlike many we've stayed in. The breakfast was better than usual, with a wider choice than we've come to expect, and all at a good price. There's a choice of 4 or 5 places to eat all within a very short walk.

My husband and I did not expect the hotel to be this nice compare to what we paid for. The hotel lobby's appearance is almost like a 4 star hotel. The receptionist this morning when we checkout is super friendly and accommodating.

Booked this on TripAdvisor as we travelled through MN. Nice newer hotel, very clean within walking distance to restaurants, and free breakfast. Will try to stay there on return trip if timing works out. Easy access to I-90 allows quick departure as we travelled on the next day.

I would highly recommend this hotel I-90/I-35 in Albert Lea, MN. Wonderful amenities, close to the freeway, clean rooms and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was more than I expected and ran from 6 am to 10 am, longer than some.

The staff were extremely friendly. The decor of the hotel was really nice. I asked my husband if they would notice a picture or two missing from the hallway. They also had a really nice station that you could go to at any time [we checked in about 1 a.m. from the road - I specifically Googled Best Westerns and we drove a little further to stay here - we were not disappointed] that had coffee, tea, hot apple cider, and cookies. The bed was comfortable. This was the first hotel I found with a recliner in the room. I'm disabled and usually sleep in a recliner as lying flat is difficult. The recliner was a pleasant surprise but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't recline completely. it was great to just put your feet up but not so much for lying back to sleep; but it could have been me and not the recliner. I would definitely recommend this hotel though.

We stayed on a Friday night in room 121, which is right next to and shares a wall with the lobby. We could hear conversations in the lobby after we went to bed. Of course there was also a kids baseball team spending the night and they were a little rambunctious knocking on random doors and just being boys. Other than what I mentioned above , the hotel itself was very nice and comfortable. The staff was attentive and courteous, and when we told them about the lobby noise they immediately handled it.

All good. Used handicapped room due to wife's surgery. Breakfast was excellent and timely. A wheelchair would have been helpful for our situation with wife just put of surgery. Temp and cleanliness of the room was good as well. Bathroom well lit and clean.

Comfortable and Clean. The bed linens and towels were crisp and nice. The pillows have seen a better day or two but not unsatisfactory. Room had a fridge and microwave that were clean and functioning. The overall hotel was up to date and clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I did not try the breakfast. The hits also has a indoor pool and a fitness center. I did not use either of those facilities. The hotel is located next to highway but I did not have any sound issues at all.

Overall good stay. For a good price, we received a king bed with a whirlpool in room. Bed was comfortable. Pool was in good condition. Front desk was pleasant. Breakfast was also good, orange juice was great! Overall, a little more than I expected from a hotel of this class. Would recommend this to friends when visiting.

It was a pleasant and comfortable 5 night stay. The location is good and the hotel is easy to find. Direct exit and entry to I-90. The room was good. The breakfast was sufficient. Friendly people. What else can I say - it was worth the stop.

Excellent service and the room was very clean. We were very pleased and would stay again.My husband has MS and the staff did their best to assist us with his needs. The hotel was close to a mall and had eating ;places nearby which was convenient for us also.

Second stay at this hotel and both have been comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Good value for the money. Standard continental breakfast with decent quality and quantity. Seemed very quiet in spite of being pretty full.

Abandoned the freeway into Albert Lea in a ice and snowstorm; at 11 am. Stopped in to see if a room was available that afternoon and the frost desk employee offered early check-in, which was so appreciated. Spent the day in the pool, which is incredibly warm and clean. Rooms are bright and clean, great beds, nice refrigerator and microwave. Neighboring lodging ws $20 less but don't do it; this is a great choice, really nice cleaning service and all employees were very friendly.

On our return trip from Oklahoma we always stay in Clear Lake, Iowa and somehow this year I mistakenly made the reservation for Albert Lea, MN instead! Turns out it was the BEST mistake I ever made. Easy to find, close to shopping, restaurants & gas stations and the BEST added bonus? They still have a Godfathers Pizza in Albert Lea so of course we ordered for delivery to the hotel and I posted on FB about it, well all our friends back home were so jealous because our Godfathers closed 4 years ago. As far as the hotel goes, front desk staff very friendly and informative about the area. Clean Clean Clean lobby and room, very comfortable beds and clean bathroom. I was VERY impressed and think we found a new stop for our travels home from Oklahoma!!!

For 70.00 I wasn't expecting a lot ,but I think they could have done better. It was nice having a mini frig, kruig, and microwave in the room and the bed was okay. However, the room is outdated. Especially the bathroom (the ceiling was peeling & the fixtures were rusting!). The rooms have thin walls! You could hear everything around & above us. Someone simply walking above us could be heard loudly. Needless to say we didn't sleep well:(. We were not offered wifi or given a code, so that was dissapointing too. We've stayed at other best westerns and had better experiences. Also, the whole town closest down early (fast food and all). So if you arrive after 10-11pm and are hungry plan on hitting a 24hr grocery store (Hyvee & Walmart) or a gas station.

Exceptionally clean room, comfortable bed, a Keurig coffee maker in the room, and excellent service are just a few of the reasons I found this hotel to be a great value for the price. We stayed there on a Saturday night, which is often a noisy night for hotels. You could have heard a pin drop. Made for a restful night and a good start to the day. The wifi signal was strong and the service reasonably fast -- I've had much worse (and more expensive) service in 5 star hotels. For the weary traveler looking for a reasonably priced place to get your head down for the night this Best Western is worth the price. Would definitely stay here again.

We got a great room for 2 adults at a great price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Adequate hot breakfast... Had to do laundry and front desk had the change, detergent and stiffener promptly and friendly.

Being a BW rewards member they are generally my first search when in need of a hotel while on the road. This property came to my attention and I was attracted to the very reasonable price. Since this was to be a one night stay, I wasn't too concerned about the quality of the accommodations considering the price was right. Additionally the BW brand has quality standards that I am comfortable with. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this is a very well maintained property with very nice decorum for the price. I recommend this as a place to stop for the night if traveling between Iowa and Central MN

Our room was very clean. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly. The location was great near restaurants and shopping. I stayed with my 1yr old and we had a great experience. We will definitely recommend this hotel!!!

This is one of our favorite hotels in the area. There are Restaurants nearby which we can walk to. It has Good parking when we are pulling a car. I really enjoy the Kuerig coffeemaker in room. They also have cappocino maker for breakfast.

The breakfast area was very tiny and a lot of people were crammed in. I believe I have bed bug nights which suck. The pool was very warm which was a plus. The room was nice except that the shower curtain would not stay up also the lights were very dim in the bath room

We were passing though and needed a place to stay. This was the average hotel. Positives: - It was clean - Staff was friendly Negatives: - Breakfast area was very small. Only four tables to sit and they were crammed in. When I went to get some food there was minimal space between the counter and the people at the tables behind me. - There was an older lady who seemed to be the kitchen staff, she was in street clothes and at first I thought she was another guest at the hotel. She just sat at one of the tables and hovered over you as you at. Like the lunch monitors back in elementary school. It was a bit odd.

Stayed here based on price as they were $20 cheaper than comparable hotels, did have a dog so additional $20 was added to bill which was expected. This is a older motel that has been updated in areas. 'Pet Friendly' Room was clean and showed no signs of other animals being there in the past. Pool area was older and had no hot tub, although pool felt like a hot tub, it was nice. Breakfast had several choices and was ok, not great. Staff was friendly. Not a bad experience but would not stay here again.

We have been staying exclusively at Best Western hotels during our 5000 mile Holidays trip. This stay was several days ago and the memories are somewhat vague. This actually speaks volumes as overall our stays have been very favorable, which means that the Albert Lea hotel lives up to the standards we expect and there are no unpleasant surprises. The staff was professional, rooms clean and no negative events.

Just passing thru, roads were bad and pouring rain. Needed a place to stay for the night. Staff were very friendly and the place was very clean. Would stay again. Prices were very reasonable, considering that when you are traveling thru and only need a place to sleep and shower.

Clean, quite and friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Warm Pool temp was a plus for me because I use it for exercise therapy! Building could use a few updates but was well kept. Price is average but have stayed at worse hotels for more money!

Very pleased to stay at this clean hotel. Especially since my mother cannot walk far. The hotel booked our room close to the entrance and I was able to park in the disabled spot; with a view and easy access to our vehicle parked right in front of our window. Ideally located for any type of shopping and dining. Very easily accessible off/on the freeway, within minutes. Delicious daily baked cookies and beverages offered during the day at no charge. The breakfast was delightful and plentiful. The indoor pool is available to disabled persons and our particular room had an ample walk-in shower also equipped with seating and grab bars making our stay very efficient and comfortable. Additionally, all the staff (especially our receptionist, Debbie and the morning breakfast cook) were friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed Harold's, Jake's delivered pizza and Zambora.This will be our stay over spot for our future trips to the western part of Iowa. Thank you all for making a long trip into a nice, memorable vacation.

My husband and I were just passing through on a road trip to visit family for Christmas and found this lovely hotel! It was very clean and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They had a wonderful pool, which we enjoyed and a great hot breakfast. Our room was clean and well stocked with towels and many pillows as eel as a Keuerig and many coffee and tea choices! We had a wonderful and restful stay and would definitely return!

Breakfast includes REAL MILK... Whole and 2%. Decent property in a good location. Make sure you check the motel's website as well as the discounters - you might be surprised. I am happy to know that Best Western is getting over the milk myth especially in the middle of dairy country. California sells Raw milk in grocery stores and the motels serve whole and 2%. I really appreciated that during my stay.

The staff at the BW was very good. We had a very nice and clean double room. The bed was real firm which for me is a good thing. Although the fitness equipment wasn't the best by a long shot, it did the job. The breakfast was typical and enjoyable. Overall I commend the place for interstate travelers.

This hotel is very nice and the bed is really comfortable! The staff is kind and caring because my son recently had surgery and he was on crutches. The staff did everything they could to make his stay easier. They made sure he was in a room on the 1st floor and offered to bring him anything if he needed it.

Clean, quiet, large king room, good price. Nice single serve Keurig coffeemaker. Plus the best in room coffe we had so far. Room has frig, no microwave, but all other expected amenities. Easy off I90 with plenty of nearby restaurants. Friendly front desk and efficient check in.

Large clean two bed room w/fridge & micro right off I-90. Good deal for a good room. Location is just off of I-90, and a main north-south street. Walking distance to a Hyvee supermarket and next door mall.

This hotel is a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable, staff is friendly. The only complaint is that they wouldn't put my stay on my rewards card because I booked through Trip Advisor. Breakfast was a nice variety and the WiFi worked great.

The staff is excellent, they are friendly and helpful! The hotel and the rooms are always clean and well maintained. The pillow top beds are so comfortable! The hotel is near restaurants, shopping, theaters; great location.

Room was large able to accommodate wheelchairs Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with hand rails and exceptable for handicap mobility. The morning breakfast was up to the standards expected for BW

This is one of the motels we have stayed in. The cost of the room was quite reasonable, but the property and service were outstanding. Great breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, comfy room, and exceptionally clean.

We were looking for a place to stay on our way home from the Black hills going home to Chicago, we checked the internet and this Best Western showed up. We were happy with the hotel and the room was clean and updated. We also didn't want to pay what the rooms were going for in Rochester or La Cross so we were happy to find this Best Western. The price included a great hot breakfast and also the employees were very nice and helpful in finding a place for us to eat for dinner. Thanks to all of them, we try to use Best Western when we can.
