    « Birthday weekend »

My husband and I stayed here fir my birthday, we had a fabulous time. The room was clean and so comfortable!! Service was fantastic from check in till check out!! We enjoyed the lounge, had many laughs we the fabulous staff and will be back for sure...this will be our go to hotel when we need a weekend away ?

    « beyond my expectation »

It is located in the downtown area and it is quite close to all the senic spots nearby. The twin bed room is really clean and big and beyond my expectation. It is worth every penny! The only demerit is the parking fee but if you can accept around 10.5 bucks per day then it is not a problem. ??????????????????????????????10.5??????????????????wifi????????????????????????????????????????????

« Best Western downtown Winnipeg »

I found that this Best Western was ideally located for visiting downtown Winnipeg and walking to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, The Forks Market, St. Boniface and many other points of interest. The service at the hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and more than willing to help. It was my first visit to Winnipeg and the staff helped me with directions. It was so convenient to have a restaurant and lounge/bar on site. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff called shortly after I arrived to make sure that all was well with the room, and asked if I needed anything else.

    « Weekend in Winnipeg »

I had never been to Canada before so I decided to get away. I chose this hotel because it is downtown and close to so many things. I enjoyed my stay and will return. I cafe was nice and so was the staff. The bar was great and the bartender shared some things about Thunder Bay . That will be my next trip. I wish I could have made it to the Rib Room. I really wanted prime rib but they don't do room service and I was to tired to get out of bed. The night manager does not really have a personality but all in all I am very satisfied with my stay. The only other thing was that parking was not mentioned on the hotel website so I assumed that it was complimentary.

    « Conference Sessions »

Our company has held a number of conferences at the hotel over the past 6 months. The staff is extremely accommodating to our needs and the rooms comfortable and setup to handle 20+ people. The restaurant was able to accommodate us on a daily basis so we were able to compress lunches as needed. All in all, excellent experiences!

they changed our room but that was it - while I don't yell at people about most things I would have thought, from a customer service standpoint, that I would have received SOMETHING for the inconvenience but NOTHING - I never ask for anything to see how far they go, these guys did not get out of the gate

« Friendly service, great location »

I've stayed at this hotel twice over the last few years. It's obvious they have a large number of repeat customers as I heard staff calling customers by name when they arrived. They go out of their way to ensure your stay is the best possible. The room was clean, quiet and the hotel is close to locations in downtown Winnipeg.

« Great place to stay »

Stayed there for 2 night when we were in town and I couldn't have been more impressed with the room daytime staff were very nice and friendly and the bed was very comfy.Rooms were very clean and it was walking distance to a lot of thing to do and shopping...would stay there again in a heartbeat.

    « Great Customer Service »

The staff were very accommodating and worked hard to ensure our stay was pleasant. The location and age of the hotel are its biggest downfall. I was also surprised at the lack of options for gluten free diets at both the Rib Room and the cafe. However, this was not exclusive to this hotel, it seemed to be similar in many restaurants in Winnipeg, including the airport.

    « Event Planner »

The staff, specifically, Chris Martin, was amazing. He went above and beyond to accommodate the needs required for our training session. One of the facilitators could not sleep and Chris made sure she had a pillow that better suited her needs. I have been told by the staff attending that the accommodations were exceptionally clean.

    « Hit & Miss »

Decent location within walking distance of many good restaurants and the Conv Centre. Room upgrades are worth it if your Corp deal includes it. Std rooms are often tired with noisy a/c. Too often, rooms seem to be filled with 'social' guests relocated by various Govt agencies. While a money spinner for the owners, It was enough to make me book the Delta on my last trip. Their free shuttle is anything but. Last 3 trips I was told to take a taxi... And they only reimbursed to $10. Still, if you need to be downtown, it's worth a punt. If just passing thru the Peg, stay at one of the modern bed factories out by the airport. Handy Tip: Never book a room overlooking the huge public parking lots in Winter. The snowplow reversing sirens will keep you awake ALL night!!!

« Great spot. Stayed for Grey Cup 2015. »

Booked this hotel one year in advance in anticipation of Grey Cup 2015. Chose it mostly based on location from the Convention Centre. What a great spot in downtown Winnipeg. Easy access to downtown and The Forks, on foot. We got a great rate on king room - only thing missing was breakfast. The bar was busy every night.

    « Good value/price »

The hotel is okay, as the bistro. The air conditioning system is noisy and you can hear everything happening in the hallway. I had to put earplugs every night. However, the room was very clean. The staff is courteous and professional. The hotel is within walking distance of many tourist attractions.

    « Clean »

Nice place for business stay Room was clean and basic Not to a standard to stay in the room TV is what I would put in my Bathroom Come on tv must be at least 48 if not 56 or 60" But for a downtown local and value This joint rocks that

    « Not for Family »

Scary. Family of 4 including 9 & 11 year old. Looked like drug addicts outside. Clientele in lobby and lounge from "other side of the tracks". Security guard on duty for obvious reasons. 2 Elevators very very very slow. Was on 5th floor. Hallway narrow seemed like 5ft across and no air conditioning. Not inviting given very hot outside. Washroom in room too small, fit one person at a time. Rooms sort of typical BW but at total cost for 2 queen $159 given above and, had to pay for parking (Note: after several indications not happy paying for parking charge $10.50 waived), cost not worth. Stay in many $140+ hotels every year including BW and this one will not be returned. Should have done more research.

    « Business Trip »

Great downtown location. Convenient for almost everything I was doing while in town. Although an older property, rooms were awesome. Well appointed. And a note from my housekeeper who obviously takes pride in her work welcoming me to my room. Good check in/out accommodating my request for a late check out.

« Good place to stay »

very friendly hotel. good place to stay in downtown winnipeg, nice room because you can open the door to the balcony and get lots of fresh air, the house keeping is maticious. better than my spelling anyway

    « Excellent »

I liked to stay at the BW Plus Downtown Winnipeg, specially the balcony. The employes were very helpful when I asked directions. Just 10 minutes walk to go to the Winnipeg Clinic, we can leave the car at the hotel. Near Portage Place, walked again not far at all. The only thing I did not like too much, there was no guide for the chanels on TV.

    « Stop over »

Great visit! Great staff! Easy location. The airport shuttle that was provided with no charge saved me a few $$. Would have be nice to have a pool, but it wasn't listed on your website so guess I cannot complain about that. Had a great stir fry for lunch on the Bella restaurant. The staff seemed busy, but maintained their professionalism still. Thank you.

« Short stay, wonderful experience »

This is the best Best Western I have ever stayed at. Reservation was easy and effortless = check! Called a day before my arrival to request an early check-in. Understanding they couldn't guarantee it, I took a chance. When I arrived nearly 2 hours before check-in time, my room was ready and I had a king size bed = double check! The room was HUGE! the bed was super confortable and all the amenities were available and worked well = SCORE! I went down for breakfast and the staff were super friendly and fun to chat with. The food was good (home fries were delish). The location is very quiet and within walking distance to the Market at the Forks and the Human Rights Museum. Next time I'm in Winnipeg, I'm booking there again. Well done to the whole Best Western team, it was a pleasure to stay there.

« Most affordable option close to University of Winnipeg for TRC Conference »

Needed 4 days accommodations while attending the TRC Pathways to Reconciliation conference at the University of Winnipeg. Price was best offered within walking distance via Nice, revamped hotel. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Nice room, very hot when I entered but cooled down quickly when I turned on the AC. Two restaurant options, but the Rib Room wasn't open both times I tried. Cafe was, and was good. Parking was an extra charge above the hotel cost, so it did add to the cost of the hotel. Sleep quality was great, and was surprisingly quiet for a downtown location.

« Not stellar but staff is great »

Not in the best part of town but good walking distance to most downtown attractions. Rooms are clean, but some amenities are dated in certain parts of the hotel. 3rd floor rooms have balconies and adjoining room if you dont like that...ask to stay on the 4th floor. Great staff...were really helpful and generous w their time when I experienced problems with noisy neighbours.

    « Great choice. »

We stayed here for 5 nights. We found it conveniently located (walking distance to the convention centre, the Forks, the Human Rights Museum, etc.) The room was quite comfortable and very clean. Shuttle from the airport was a bonus. Disappointing was the lack of a free breakfast, although there is a Starbucks a block away and a Tim Hortons two blocks away. Oddly, the Timmy's is closed on weekends! There are restaurants within the hotel as well, but sometimes you just want a quick coffee and a bagel.

« Great Location. Nicely renovated. Comfortable bed. »

They have done a nice job on this place! The room was nicely renovated and comfortable. We booked it through our Airmiles and was a good choice if you need to be downtown. You can tell it's an older place still, but they have done a nice job. Air conditioner was a little noisy at night and the new flat screen TV's were difficult to change the channel due to the large piece of furniture blocking the access, so you had to hold the remote in the air while laying in bed, a little inconvenient. But nothing serious. No continental breakfast either, but we knew that when booking. Didn't try the bar/restaurant as there as so many to choose from downtown. Nice and close to the MTS Center and walking distance to the Forks. Also nice to have parking next to the hotel at only $10.00 per day, which was nice when we walked everywhere. Overall, this hotel made our stay nice and comfortable. Staff were always friendly and efficient. Found it very quiet also when trying to sleep. No noise from outside and the halls were quiet at night.

    « Visit to Winnipeg »

Our stay at the Best Western Charter House went very well. Appreciated the abundant parking, onsite restaurants and location in downtown Winnipeg. Would stay at this hotel again. We did a fair bit of walking and if the weather had been better we would have don more. Appreciated the taxi service when required. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

    « Excellent Customer Care »

We stayed here for four nights. The location was excellent - very close to many restaurants & coffee shops. Just a short walk to the beautiful Forks. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the absolute best feature about this hotel was the staff. Everyone from housekeeping to room service to front desk and guest services was fantastic. Everyone I met always asked how our stay was going. We left behind a personal item and they had it shipped back to us the very next day. You don't see that kind of customer care much any more. Very impressed.

    « Usual great stay »

Reliable and well located . Good room with balcony. Low rise building. Good room size. Polite efficient staff. Handy surface parking. Accommodations equal to other larger more expensive hotels in the area. No criticisms Good value.

    « good hotel downtown »

So this hotel was ok, but I don't think I will take that one next time. I will probably try an other one. The location was good, cause you can walk everywhere, you can go easily to the tourism center and the business center where they have good restaurant. But you do have to pay a 10$ for the hotel parking and it doesn't look really safe since so many people lock their steering wheel and the hotel tell you a lot to not let stock on sight. The staff is very nice and they help us with what we need. They even call us in our room to see if everything was fine. Really like them. When we ask for a map, she gave us one but she also show us what we can see and where we should go to the city. Since we didn't ask her that, I really like that she immediately tell us. We had a room with king size bed, the room was really clean and new. Bed was comfortable. But the bathroom is really small, you cannot be two persons in same time. The air conditioning was quietly was is nice when you want to have a good sleep. But my biggest problem with this hotel is : there is almost no power outlet. We find just one for a cell phone. So you cannot charge more then a cell phone or a computer at a time. Also, breakfast was not include, but they give you 10% off on purchase at the restaurant. We didn't try it. Elevator was kind of slow, so you need to be patient. Also the fitness center isn't that good. It was smelly when I went there (maybe it was the person before me, I don't know) But I didn't find any thing to disinfect the machine and the jug of water was empty as well as the towel.

« The NEW old Charter House BW »

Change is not only in the name, but also in the quality of service! It is good to know that the change referred here is the for the better (quality of service)! Quality of service is one of such things which can't be explained, but can only be explained, uh!

    « Great Location »

Stayed for two nights in Winnipeg for work related purposes. The hotel was only a block from my meetings, so very convenient. There are a few restaurants in the area, and it's only about a 15 minute walk to the Museum of Human Rights and the Forks. The service was outstanding! The shuttle came within 20 minutes of me calling from the airport and I had a great chat with the driver. The front desk made check-in a breeze and gave me a map and directions to the Forks, where I browsed the market for a couple of hours. The room was clean, internet worked fine and it was an overall pleasant stay. My flight left late on my departure day, no issues with leaving my luggage at the hotel or using the shuttle to get back to the airport. My only complaint was that the bed was too soft, but that's a personal preference...

    « Hidden Fees »

Was no mention of cost to park as well as the 5% Accomodation tax. Added another $15 to the price of the room. But it is located in Manitoba, the king of hidden fees. I live in this province and would not recommend coming to this city for a holiday unless spending money isn't a issue. 8% PST, 1% Enviromental fee on electronics, 5% accommodation tax, Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the 5% GST. If you're coming on a shopping trip and you live out of Manitoba, best to order online and have it shipped to your residence to avoid majority of these fees. Lego, Ikea, Cabelas.... all ship for free with large enough purchases. Was safe and secure with security onsite.

« Jem in st Winnipeg »

Very welcoming and cheerful staff made this an easy stay for my work trip. The rooms a bit on the smaller side, are very clean, modern, and comfortable. We would love to stay again! The free shuttle they have saved me some money on my trip budget, and was appreciated. This is not your average Best Western.

    « Wouldn't stay here again »

We had 5 rooms booked for a 8 of us going to a concert. When we checked in after 3 only one of the rooms was ready. It was NOT properly cleaned, there was a empty Baggie of drugs on the floor near a garbage can, and a white smudged hand print on the head board. (Travelers with little kids please inspect rooms before letting ur kids explore the room) this baggie could have been fatal to a child. All the rooms smelt like smoke, air conditioners didn't work very well. Food wasn't good in the restaurant. Room doors didn't close properly unless u push/pulled. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Happy Customer »

Wonderful Hotel !! great location! great staff! great services! This was my first stay and I was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean and loved the balcony. Lounge/restaurant was bright and clean with a variety of choices. Thanks for the great stay.

    « Winnipeg DwD »

Convenient location, although the neighbourhood is a little shakey after dark. The location is good close to MTS centre. The hotel itself is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The restaurant offered good food for comparable market prices. The Rib room is a little higher end but a good dinner is offered. All in all I was very pleased with this facility.

« Great place to stay - close to the MTS Centre »

Room was average. When we checked in the lady taking care of the rooms was just finishing adding fresh towels to the rooms but it was no problem. Quick turn around time for them noted. Checkin at 2 PM Checkout at 11 AM I appreciate these times. Checkin staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and had everything that you need to be comfortable.

    « Great Stay »

An older hotel in downtown Winnipeg, but a great place to stay if you need a place in downtown area. Only 2 blocks to the MTS Center for concert and hockey fans. There is parking across the street for a small fee. It may be tricky to get to the hotel but the best route seems to be straight down Portage Avenue then turn right on Donald Street. Watch out for the one way streets !! The hotel is very clean and staff are professional but friendly. There is no pool/hot tub but that is not a concern for us. There was some noise in the hallway during the day, but not a problem at night. Good restaurant/bar with informed staff. Clean and good price. Did not use the dining room. Have stayed here before and will continue to do so.

« overnight to see Garth! »

Hotel was perfect for the entertainment we were going to see. Walking distance to venue. parking available at a cost. Rooms were average, Hallways were very warm. This suited our needs for our evening in Winnipeg

« Good value with great service and comfort »

The front desk staff were proficient and courteous but not as friendly as in most. It was the business approach to get work done but did not have the friendly atmosphere I find in most BW. The check out staff were friendlier. The price was right for the hotel and a good value for maintaining the BW standards and with a comfortable bed.

« Great option when staying in down-town Winnipeg »

I have been staying at this hotel for one week each month for seven years. This hotel compared to a few others in the area is more conveniently located to the business and government communities. My rooms have always been very clean and comfortable and the staff have always been very friendly, polite and helpful in every possible way. The hotel is noticeably very well managed to meet everyone's needs and comfort. I am particularly happy with the food and food service. After a hard day I prefer to stay and eat at my hotel and this is no problem here. In my view, the food is excellent with a wide selection, professionally prepared and served and at a reasonable price. I truly look forward to eating my meals here. I stay in many hotels and motels and if they were all like this one my travelling life would be much happier.

    « Comfortable excellence »

This hotel fully met my standards of Best Western. Comfortable beds, sheets and pillows. Located in a convenient spot. Staff were friendly and the breakfast that was available in the restaurant was perfect.

    « First time staying »

Bright, clean and welcoming environment. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Conveniently located to the areas I needed to be during my visit. Enjoyed my stay, would recommend to others and stay there again myself.

    « Good stay in down-town Winnipeg »

Roomy and comfortable, (mostly) outstanding staff, convenient in the middle of the CBD and a choice of excellent restaurants. Pretty much ticked all the boxes. Would have rated as excellent had it not been for one odd staff member at reception, whose surly attitude (on asking about the hotel shuttle) spoilt things for the otherwise outstanding staff on site. One other niggle was the inability of hotel maintenance to correct a reception problem with the TV. Minor issues, otherwise.

    « friendly Manitoba »

What a welcoming hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant opens early and serves hot food until 10 PM. The home made soups change daily and are simply delicious. Situated downtown it is walking distance to The Winnipeg Art Gallery, the University of Winnipeg, the Manitoba Archives, and the RBC Convention Centre. I would definitely stay there again.

« Clean, comfortable with a very helpful staff »

This appears to be an older property that has been well-maintained. It was clean, the bed was good and the room was comfortable except that it did not have anything other that two straightback chairs, with no place to really relax and read. There are two restaurants, one casual and open most of the day and one more formal. There was almost no one in the more formal restaurant when I was there and I think the food suffered a bit from that. The hotel manager, Janet, does a great job. I had a problem with my reservation when I arrived but she was able to get everything straightened out for me. Their airport shuttle will also take customers to the train station upon request.

« Very accessible hotel, friendly people »

Came for a one week vacation in Winnipeg. Decided to stay at this hotel based from a friend's referral. The two nights that I stayed was great. Room was clean and beds were nice to sleep in. Housekeeping did a great job in cleaning my room. The Hotel is accessible. I like that it's walking distance to many places. It only took me 10 minutes' walk to get to the Forks Market and see the sights there as well as the Human Rights Museum, which I think is a must see when you visit the city. There are bus stops just in front, which made my city travelling way easier! They also had free shuttle to the airport, so I save almost $40 for a taxi ride! My room had a view of the Convention Centre with a balcony. People in the hotel even the other guests staying there were friendly. Food in their restaurant was delicious! Prices are not too bad either! Coming first from Toronto were the prices were steep, it's great to find a place that has food choice that are less than $10! It's also great to see staff who speak Filipino, I felt like I found my home away from home!

    « Best Western »

So I came to the city to see my old friend. She booked me to this hotel which is just a block from where she works. At first I'm hesitant cause seeing the so-so, not so good review posted here. But since she paid for it, I really don't have much of a choice. My adventure started?I arrived from Edmonton, phoned them from the airport, and they sent the jolliest hotel driver I've ever met and I've stayed with hotels in the past where the drivers are either grumpy or a snob or simply avoids conversation, so this one was the first one to have all smiles at me and answered all my questions! He even helped me carry my luggage! The lady at the counter checked me in, again, first time I was asked if I have any preference on which floor I wanted to be in! I did notice that the hotel was showing its age, but the rooms are quite nice, I think they renovated or something like that. I had a flat screen tv in my room and HUGE bed! I was on the 3rd floor, I think it was 301 or 302, my room was big! And Wifi is FREE! When I had to print my boarding pass before I left, they helped me navigate my way to West Jet's website and printed my pass again for FREE! There's only a few places that gives extra stuff to people, and this I like the most! Oh and I got those little bags with an apple, a bar and water in it, I asked the guy when I checked out, he said because the restaurant is still closed and so I can have the most important meal of all! Cheesy, but it really made my day!

    « recommended »

Be smart when booking, I got a higher rate dealing direct with the hotel. The hotel has great location, walking distance from most interesting things in the city and it is very clean. Staff is very friendly. Basic features hotel. Don't expect luxury.

    « Good hotel »

Good hotel, has free parking, no free breakfast, as in any other Best Western hotels no hot food of vegetarian kind in breakfast menu (cook may do something for dinner on special order). Rooms are clean and quiet

    « convenient for downtown »

This is an older hotel and apparently has a few maintenance issues. I saw a couple of rooms where the doors didn't quite close although they were in use. My room was hot for the first night and there was no temperature control. The air conditioner was quite loud. Maintenance repaired the thermostat and it was fine the next night. At least one of my passengers had the same problem. The room had the usual equipment and was kept clean during my stay and front desk service was friendly enough. There is a cafe on the premises and a fine restaurant, both with good food.

    « The downtown experience »

Tried this because it was close to convention centre and the forks. There were people loitering in front which didn't bother me but might some. Staff were friendly and place was clean. It is a refurbished older hotel but although nicely done and looked after still shows it's age. Parking can be tight and is NOT included ($10 per day). They give you 10% off of the breakfast buffet which is decent but included in most hotels these days. The restaurant (Stellas) was good but loud rap and hip hop music in the morning was a bit much. All in all after staying in several downtown hotels I would highly recommend if you are coming to Winnipeg to stay at the Best Western on Pembina Hwy or the Best Western in Headingley - they do it better and are just better value and experience - and decent pools for less money. If downtown wants our business they will have to step up to the next level or we won't come.

    « Great Hotel »

We usually stay in Winnipeg for special events. Its great to stay at a hotel that is close to MTS Center so we don't have to look for parking and deal with traffic at the end of the event. Wished the breakfast was cheaper or free.

« Good service, sad location »

My first visit to Winnipeg and on the basis of the area around the hotel was not impressed. The room was uninspired but fine. The biggest issue was the heater/ cooler which was constantly running and loud. Tried turning it off but the room got very cold very quickly. The cafe is ok but nothing to write home about and a bit overpriced for what you get. I skipped the breakfast buffet but my fellow traveller tried it and was disappointed. But good luck finding an option nearby. Took me ages to find a coffee let alone food. And good luck finding anywhere in the vicinity of the hotel open at night. It is a decent walk to The Forks if the weather isn't too bad and you have the time. Also convenient for the VIA station. The staff are helpful and personable, and the airport shuttle is convenient. Overall, though, this place is just OK.

    « A nice place to stay »

This was a decent place to stay and nice and close to the MTS Centre. I prefer when the BW's I stay at have breakfast included but this was still nice. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, really that is what you look for in a hotel

    « It's ok »

The room was clean however the fan was very loud on the heating unit. I did not eat at the hotel so I have no comment on the food or dining. The lobby is plain and was fairly clean. Housekeeping did not replace the towels I used the second day.

    « always good »

Great rooms, great location. restaurants are nice. Especially the rib room. Close to MTS center if you wanna catch a game! They offer a game day meal special as well. Close to the businesses I visit. Close to the forks,

    « Great hotel »

Great hotel if you need to stay in the downtown area. We had a doctor appointment and the hotel was within walking distance from the doctors office. I was able to leave my vehicle in the hotel parking lot until after we came back from the appointment.

« Good place and great people »

We always go to the city during the holiday season, this place is close to all the places we want to include in our trip. Good food in their restaurant. Great people in the hotel. No smoking in the rooms is the only problem but I guess that's a good thing nowadays.

    « Central Location »

Stayed here when we visited Winnipeg, hotel has a very Christmasy theme when we checked in, lobby was cozy, rooms were clean, staff were genuinely caring. We ordered food from the restaurant for our stay, and it had big servings. They had free shuttle to the bus station which was a big plus. Over all our stay went great!

« Good quality for price »

Came in for the weekend and stayed one night. The room, lounge and all amenities were good. The bed was a bit hard - that would be my only complaint. The VLT lounge brought in people who lowered the standards of the Best Western PLUS.

« Good room, good location »

We stayed over one night. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and is just as comfortable as it always was. The location is excellent and the price is not outrageous. We will definitely be back. We found the beds somewhat hard, but that was the only niggle.

    « great central location »

i like this location as its close to downtown amenities and easy to get to where i need to go for business. Close to the forks and easy to get to airport. I like the balcony in the summer to get some fresh air into the room. restaurant was great food and servie and it was a hockey night so people were in a hurry. I plan to always stay at this proerty when i visit winnipeg.

« Great location and great stay for downtown events »

Stayed at the Best Western for 4 nights over the 103rd Grey Cup. Had the executive king suite. First, I have to say a huge thanks for the advanced booking - that could not have been better! The hotel is literally across the street from the Convention Centre, 1 block from Broadway (Starbucks), 3 blocks from Portage, and maybe 4 or 5 blocks from Main and The Forks. You can get around downtown Winnipeg on foot pretty easy from here. The room was spacious enough and included a microwave and fridge. It took a bit of thinking to get the heat turned on from the AC unit. Its a busy hotel and the restaurant was good the night we went. I would have liked to maybe try the Sunday brunch buffet, but never got to it. Staff were polite and accommodating. Mind you, we made very little requests. No reason to do so. Wi-fi worked great. And its not the kind that you continuously have to re-sign in to use. Overall, no issues with this hotel.

    « Great Location! »

Stayed in room 202 (mini-suite). This room has a balcony but it is locked for the winter. Bed was great (king). Room nice and clean - no issues. Front desk staff and shuttle were great! Would recommend this property if budget conscience. Wifi is free for all of your gadgets.

    « Great Location »

Modest and clean hotel in downtown core. Great location for getting around downtown. Staff were professional and very helpful. Shuttle to and from the airport was a bonus. Great breakfast at attached bad it wasn't included in price of stay.

    « Birthday »

Travelling with two persons of limited mobility. Room was well equipped and level of service from all staff well exceeded our expectations. Even though we were there week before the onslaught of guests arriving for Grey Cup.

« Close to MTS Center »

The hotel was very clean and the lounge staff are incredible. we had a late supper and an early breakfast. Nice buffet and interesting omelette choices. The hotel staff were friendly enough, yet could smile a bit more.

    « Bed Bugs »

The hotel looks relatively well kept, but after waking up in the morning I was covered in red, intensely itchy bed bug bites. Management did not seem to know what to do and offered me a $50 gift certificate for my troubles. They also had moved me rooms when I reported the bed bugs & later on I was told that ONLY the room that I initially got the bites in was treated .....well guess what....bed bugs travel and were probably now in the room that I was in while looking for another hotel. I checked out immediately. They also had no hot water for 2 days so the laundry I did to try and clean my things probably would not do anything to treat the bed bug issue. It has been about 2 weeks since my stay there and my bites are still healing. Do yourself a favor & never stay there!

    « No hot water »

Other than the no hot water issue, I was pleased with my stay at this hotel. The decor was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the location was only a few blocks from the MTS Centre and the Shark Club.

    « Inconvenient »

The staff were relatively friendly, the room was clean and comfy, and the location was in close proximity to the RBC convention center. The hotel was able to accommodate an early check-in, which was good. Unfortunately, they do not run their airport shuttle before 730am - EVEN WHEN MANY OF THEIR GUESTS ARE LEAVING EARLY IN THE MORNING AFTER A LARGE CONFERENCE. I was really disappointed that the hotel made no effort to accommodate a large number of guests by extending shuttle service hours under these circumstances. Additionally, there were many periods of time (reported by many guests during my stay) when the hot water wasn't working.

    « Internet »

Checked in late Sunday evening, got last room where Internet signal was very weak at end of corridor, Janet the manger refunded me for 1 night stay which was very much appreciated, and moved me to a better room (BW Diamond status)

    « Comfortable & Homey »

My stay at the Best Western Downtown was great, the service of the staff was excellent, they made sure I was taken care of & also made me feel at home. This was my first time staying at the hotel by myself and I was a nervous wreck but it wasn't oh so bad :) I stayed here with my mom and sister for the One Direction concert back in July, overall it was great! but me and my sister experienced harassment by a drunk guy in the elevator, well it wasn't exactly harassment but just thought he can sweep us off our feet but hellll nooo! Anyways we told the front and he was taken care of right away. Food is not so good honestly, NEVER ate there but overall this hotel is awesome, great stay and affordable prices :)

« Best Western Plus (Winnipeg) »

This hotel does not warrent the Best Western Plus badge, decor is very dated, restaurant, lounge food was poor. They do not control folks wandering through the hotel. Music in the lounge was very load and I requested that volume be lowered I was told that the manager was not in and staff could not turn down the volume. Would not use this hotel again.

    « Great Training Venue »

Took a one day training course at Best Western Charter House and it was great. The location downtown is nice because you have so many food options for lunch. The rooms in the basement were great, not too hot and not too cold. Parking is convenient and the restaurant is very nice to grab a snack. This is a great venue for training courses.

    « Clean rooms but... »

Clean rooms but the hotel had a bit of a smell and could use some cleanup. Convenient location in Winnipeg. Airport shuttle service is very convenient. Friendly and courteous staff. Top floor room with balcony was great.

« Charterhouse is my home away from home in Winnipeg. »

I've been staying at the Best Western Plus Downtown Winnipeg several times a year for over 10 years. The location for business or tourism is excellent. Staff is outstanding. Many have worked there for years and greet me by name. The Bella Cafe for breakfast and Rib Room for dinner are both excellent. Hotel guests receive a discount on dining.

    « A great weekend »

The room was clean and comfortable. It was busy the night I checked in and lots of children running up and down the hallways. But the room forked well for my weekend. The location was great, walking distance to the Village and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Will stay here again.
