« Exceptional service, lovely room & tasty food! »

Couldn't reccommend this hotel enough. I have been staying regularly for business trips and each occassion is worth of a review! The staff on reception are always polite and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. Clean comfy beds, which is really important for me as I stay away from home so often. Always a great choice of food, and I have never had any issues dining. Well done, a superb hotel.

« Beautiful hotel wonderful staff »

We used this hotel to attend my mums funeral, I was so pleased to find a lovely bath to relax in after a really emotional day with hot bath and it was hot. The bed was huge and very comfy as we had out kids with us it we where worried they wouldn't sleep well but the beds where so comfy they fell straight asleep. So for me this hotel was brilliant

    « Tired »

Booked this hotel as it was close to my parents home visiting as she had had an accident the hotel on first appearances looked ok and clean which for a boy from Widnes is what I was looking for however the room was tired it had a valley in the bed that the Lake District would have loved a coffee stain on the wall paper and a real needing a hug feel we went down to the restraunt and ordered food and from us both well done kitchen lovely food piping hot as was the breakfast the following morning however after the wife was asked are you finished sir she has short hair but really we felt service was lacking overall decent enough and apart from the waiter staff trying pity the building lets them down slightly

« Blamed as a guest for booking late!!! »

Stayed here with my daughter for Mothers day this year. Had a busy day planned the next day with family and arrived back to the hotel to find a party going on. Noise both sides of our room was excessive and combined with partygoer's running up and down the corrider. at 1:30 am, tried to contact the night porter who eventually quietened things down. My daughter had to get dressed and go down as the phone wasn't being answered ; probably due to other guests complaining. Registered our disappointment the next morning and followed this up with formal complaint. The response blamed us for booking late and advised they were not going to offer anything more than an upgrade next time. Maybe next time, they need to advise guests on check in that there's a party at the hotel so alternatives can be sought and guests have a choice. Won't be seeing me for dust with their really poor customer service (!) response. The response worsened an already poor experience

« Doesn't even deserve the one circle! »

Stayed here last night, checked in, room card didn't work, back to reception. Finally got in the room, huge stain on the bedding and an extra campbed in the room, fair enough must be a family room. No the room hadn't been touched for cleaning. Don't you just love finding condoms, used and unused, a full bathroom bin and makeup and dirt in your sheets. I would never stay here again, very let down as we've had good best western experiences but this one was vile not worth the £69 at all. Wedding function on at night which isn't a problem but having people running up and down the corridors shouting about pizza and trying to get in your room isn't fun. Yes we were moved to a cleaner room, but that's not the point the staff didn't know their a**e from their elbow and frankly seemed to not care less at their lack of standards.

    « Visit for work »

Stayed for 3 days at this hotel Pleased with room which was clean n tidy Food n drink fine but not cheap Nice as a short stay base A little dated but staff were very helpful and courteous Nice breakfast buffet and on site restaurant available for evening meals or bar food available

« Nice hotel with some differences »

I stayed a single night and had a comfortable stay with 2 lovely meals (evening meal and breakfast). The staff were lovely and for the most part very attentive. I would say the bar staff were busy attending to those in the restaurant more than those in the bar, which I suspect was Purley down to too few staff members. The room itself was comfortable but did lack two main items for me. 1. Anything to hang clothes on, a simple clothes rail would have been fine. 2. The climate/air conditioning option was a keyed box on the wall with 2 options... Hot & cold and as a guest I was not trusted to choose as the key to select either was removed. My room was on the ground floor and as such I did not want to sleep with a large window open. Nice enough but will not be 1st choice in the future

    « A treat to stay there »

The staff were exceptionally helpful. Rooms clean. Food Excellent. Plenty of easy parking Just 15 mile from Aintree racecourse, so a taxi was easy - and no hassle. Nice quiet surroundings........... which I like !! Will use them again

    « Comfortable stay. »

The hotel was up to the usual standard for parking and accommodation with helpful staff in the reception and the restaurant and the staff in restaurant were quick and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was good and came to the table hot and well set out. Breakfast was buffet but good and hot.

    2
    « Party »

Bar prices are just plain extortionate, avoid avoid avoid. If you drink here take a loan !! Food ( buffet ) only just ok poor quality so be careful. Nothing else - that's ur rip off Britain in my own view.

    « Wedding »

Amazing wedding venue - the room was just beautiful & I'm quite picky!! The rooms were nice enough but need a bit of a re-vamp to be honest. Breakfast was hot & miss with the hot food being cramped up in a small area making it difficult for more than one person to serve themselves at any time. Staff were friendly - especially the housekeeping staff who were absolutely lovely.

    4
    « Wedding party »

Stayed here as part of wedding party. Rooms comfortable and clean. Comfy beds with a small selection of teas & coffee in rooms. Rooms also include hairdryer, iron and board. Some bar staff a little slow. Only thing to let it down forn5 stars was the cooked breakfast was cold.

« Our wedding was just perfect ?? »

We had our wedding on 17th March and every step of it was such a breeze because the staff here are amazing. I genuinely couldn't have asked for more. The food was beautiful, room just gorgeous and the staff throughout just couldn't do enough for us. They made our special day just perfect. Thank you Zoe and the team xxx

    « A disappointing experience »

I stay in a lot of hotels on business and I realise hotels can have good days and bad ones, my experience was a bad day. First impressions and all that... a cold room with dirt on the carpet that hadn't been hoovered up. Towel in the bath...had it been changed or was it thrown in there by the last guest?? I was warned that there could be a 20 - 30 minute wait for dinner, that wasn't a problem. It eventually turned up an hour later and to be honest it was pretty basic. No waiter to be seen so I could sign for my meal, after five minutes waiting by an empty bar I returned to my room. Time for coffee. Ah... no spoon, dirty mugs, impossible to open milk cartons (how long had they been there), dirty tray... and the toilet seat was broken. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 star was because the receptionist was helpful. However, I won't be coming back.

    4
    « Comfortable »

Nice warm welcome from the staff all very friendly room was good but desperate need of painting yellow gloss paint and peeling wallpaper never a good look (thats why its a 3 star not 5) but apart from that the room bed was very comfortable nice mattress. Great choice for breakfast caters for everyone

    4
« Be careful getting in the bath!!! »

We booked into here for the night as we were going to a party nearby. My first impression when we got to our room was how cold it was, we had to put the heating straight on! The room was nice & spacious & the bed was comfy. I don't know what they use to clean the bath with but whatever it is it makes the bath really really slippery resulting in me banging my leg & gaining a large bruise. Once I did get in the bath the shower was amazing. We were told we couldn't drink in the bar as there was a function on, this didn't bother us as we were going out but it would have been nice to have that option. All in all it was a nice stay in a reasonable priced hotel.

Basic hotel with pleasant clean room. Restaurant a bit cold as was bar area however, food as good with some very interesting combinations Staff generally friendly Good price for B and B Plenty of parking

    « Car Club Meal »

Went to the Evergaldes for the North West Casual Classics Christmas meal last Sunday. The carvery was generous to say the least and the service excellent. My wife doesn't eat meat but found the spicy penne pasta most agreeable. Worth noting that the drinks prioces were not excessive for this type of event! As always great company from fellow classic car enthusiasts made the day.

« No problems, great price! »

Booked a stay here for one night with breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean and tidy with kettle, hairdryer, towels etc and a comfy bed! The breakfast was brilliant, unlimited buffet style with some great rashers of bacon and sausages! (Unfortunately no hash browns however). The bar area was again really clean and the staff throughout our stay was friendly and approachable. People have complained about the walls being thin, we personally couldn't hear anything from next door but there was a pretty disrespectful party celebrating a 21st going to bed that was banging about the bedroom doors in the early hours of the morning. Honestly couldn't recommend the hotel enough, great location and for the price there really wasn't any faults.

    « Wonderful afternoon »

Booked our car club meal for 46 people, the room was very welcoming, well presented + warm. The cavery meal was lovely and of a high standard. The staff were friendly + nothing was too much trouble. Many thanks from all at Northwest Casual Classics

    « New Year Celebration »

A group of friends and I spent New Years Eve here and stayed the night. All did not start very well as we arrived at 2pm to find that the bar was only due to open at 3pm however we were rescued by the receptionist who served us whilst dealing with arrivals and a major software problem with the room key system which meant no one could enter their rooms without a staff member using their pass key. The night started with canapés and champagne then a formal meal followed by entertainment and dancing. All considered a good night and a great way to start the New Year

« Ticked all the right boxes. »

We needed a place to stay as we were attending the International Horse Show in Liverpool, we were also bringing our dog along for his first road trip. The hotel was easy to find and very quiet for a Friday. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. The room was more than I had expected for the price we paid, they even provided an eating area for our dog with a bowl and rubber mat. Room was clean and the shower was hot and powerful. I was expecting a let down at breakfast but again I was surprised. Continental breakfast was plentiful and fresh and the cooked food looked and tasted like it was just prepared. I would definitely recommend the hotel to my friends and we will be going back. Thank you staff, you are doing a fantastic job.

    « Christmas Party 2017 »

We booked our work Christmas party here and 12 of us attended on Saturday 16th of December. I'll start with the positives first ? the drinks offer was very good and lasted from 8pm until midnight, it included wine, beer and shorts as there was good variety on offer which suited us all and most of us feel we had out monies worth. The food was also very good, the starter and dessert were served to you but the main meal was a carvery which was self serve. We were all very impressed with the food as it was hot, tasty and we all asked for extra meat and the server obliged. The negatives, the downstairs room is far too small to accommodate the amount of people, with rows of tables squashed together we felt like sardines, it just wasn't comfortable and incredibly hot. We had to ask for the air con to be switched on as it was unbearable. The bar was always extremely busy, with only 2 staff serving and only 1 drink allowed at a time, this meant I felt the entire night was spent in a queue for the bar. There needs to be a bit more leniency with this, whether its two drinks at a time or have some wine on each table to try and relieve the demand for the bar. The final criticism was that the DJ wasn't that great, it was a room full of people on their works Christmas parties and yet he didn't play any Christmas songs until midnight! He also played a lot of recent songs as opposed to the usual floor fillers you would expect to hear, non of our group really danced much but to be fair there wasn't much room to anyway!. Overall the food and value for money was good enough to not mark the venue down completely but Christmas 2018 we'll be looking for another venue to celebrate, one with a bit more space.

« A good car park, but the room was disappointing »

We booked a room with king size bed, but though a large duvet it was just 2 single divans pushed together. The shaver light did not work and bathroom fan very noisy. Bedside lights which were linked to main overhead light so you could not get out of bed in night without putting large light on. Only 2 free plug sockets and none by the beds. Walks very thin, could here people next door talking and also could here when they were using the toilet!

The Everglades Park Hotel, Widnes is a great place to stay when visiting the north west. Easy to locate. Plenty of parking on site. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel clean and well maintained. Would recommend this hotel.

« Don't stay here if you want sleep »

The staff at the hotel are good and make you feel welcome from the start, especially the breakfast girls who make an effort to say hello and ask you how your day is. However the rooms are basic which is not a problem. The problem is the walls are so thin that any time someone moves in another room it's like actually being there and that's lucky that if you don't get a noisy neighbour. There was also a wedding when I arrived late on a Sunday night, which is fine but to be greeted by lots of drunk noisy guests in the reception area is not what you need after a 6 hrs drive. I was placed at the other end of the hotel by the receptionist so the late disco would. It keep me awake, which was great. However there was no forward thought and they had placed wedding guests at that end of the hotel, so through out the night I was woken up by drunk loud people returning to their rooms.

    « Bad nights slleep »

Had an overnight stay here Very alarmed by a joining door in room with only a flimsy lock on it and could see straight through to next room People next door very noisy On the bonus the breakfast was better than previous reviews

« Beautiful deep baath, but needs hand rails »

We stayed for a second time as we were attending the Allergy show over the weekend. As a wheelchair user I had requested a ground floor room with a bath and that is exactly what we got. On arrival the room was very cold and the first room allocated hadn't been serviced, thankfully they found us an alternative room, but this room was equally cold. Trying to find out how to make the heater work was more than problematic. Knowing it is now cold we would expected the rooms to be as least aired. No excuse can be given, that this wasn't our allocated room, as the original one was equally as cold. In the middle of the night my husband woke up shivering and had to increase the temperature which is a first for us in all the hotels we have stayed in country wide. We ate in the bar and ordered the fish finger sandwich with chips and a side salad and the piri piri chicken and salad. The fish finger dish was extremely tasty, unfortunately the same couldn't be said about the chicken salad, this was a poor lack-lustre salad, but the chicken was nothing more than okay at best. In all the meals could have been better for what we paid for them. In the room the bed is of a good size, but its a health and safety issue to have no grab handles to help get in and out of the bath. You are given one packet of biscuits where we would have expected 2, even though there are 2 biscuits in a packet in hotels of equal standard 2 packets are always provided. Sleep wasn't that good as the pillows provided are well passed their sell by date. They have no poof left in them. The ones we were given bent instantly when we picked them up, in our opinion they need replacing immediately. The curtains and pelmet were covered with cob webs, clearly they aren't on the daily cleaning routine. If you look above the pelmet then you can see torn wallpaper and more dirty marks. Breakfast was good, however when you drink plain water insist you ask for it from the kettle, as the hot water jug is tainted by coffee, making clear water undrinkable. There is a good choice of food to choose from cold and cooked, and there is no limit to how many times you return to the cold buffet. The staff on reception I found to be rude to me. I am a wheelchair user as previously mentioned and entered the foyer first with my husband behind me. Rather than looking at me the female receptionist chose to look straight over my head and speak to my husband. It wasn't until I said, excuse me but I made the booking so you need to talk to me, she never apologised, but did then look towards me. Life is hard enough without being deliberately being ignored. Had I not made myself known I truly believe she wouldn't have acknowledged me at all. Had it not been for other areas been better they would have got a much lower mark. This is the 21st century disabled people should not be ignored, it's bad manners. We stayed in room 127.

    « Fabulous short break »

Just needed a couple of nights away with hubby to chill. Excellent room, food and location apar from roadworks and diversions. Great hotel for a visit the Cheshire Oakes and the main reason for this hotel was to visit Tatton Park. Awesome.

    « All satisfactory »

We had a one-night stopover in Widnes. The Everglades had all the necessary amenities to make it a comfortable place to stay as the rooms are well-equipped. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that. We did stay on a Saturday night when there was a private wedding function taking place but as we had a room at the back of the hotel we did not hear any noise. All round a good hotel.

    « expext more »

have stayed here on many occasions, but this time was not quite upto scratch, all the staff try hard but they are few and far between. Breakfast was not good, the coffee out of a flask was disgusting, undrinkable, decided to have some continental bits and pieces everything was stale.

    « Disappointed »

Recently stayed a week at the Everglades hotel widnes. Only allowed 1 toilet per day ran out of teabags in room . Shower broke and had no scald protection. Shabby carpet. Receptionists never Greeted us and never made eye contact. The only people who were welcoming was the waitresses in the week days at breakfast. The breakfast was bad . Eat as much as you like if you dare. Bacon like shoe leather. Eggs over cooked . Kept in bain Marie forever. Worst breakfast . Lounge bar dark with no windows . Wrote on the comments form and left my email address and they can't even reply

    « Wedding »

Just stayed here for wedding our room was good apart from toilet wobbling about . As for breakfast we had to keep asking for things I.e glasses, juice, bread, eggs and coffee no consistency of replacing things that have ran out , most of the staff looked like they had hangovers with their hair not even tied up

    4
    « A Great Time at the 70's and 80's night »

A group of 6 of us attended the 70's and 80's evening. The venue was full but service for starters and dessert was good. The queue for the carvery was long but service was quick. You can't fault the value for money at £21 for 3 course meal and entertainment. The DJ was great and the dance floor was full all night. The hotel runs a series of different entertainment events throughout the year and we would definately attend again.

    2
« Room big but everything else poor »

Hotel grounds and parking are great, and a good location just off the main roads. Check in process was quite slow and average with regards to info on breakfast / getting out the car park so when i tried to get out in the evening i couldn't so had to go back and get the code! Room was nice and the bed was great however a few little things - few bulbs out in lamps, very loose cheap plastic toilet seat, poor TV. £10 for breakfast was shocking - sausages cold, bacon hard and overcooked, hard eggs and NO hash browns! Shocking. If the breakfast was half decent i would have said average hotel, wont stay here again.

Family wedding at the Everglades. Brilliant day, everything taken care of, they delivered exactly what they said. We also stayed for two nights at the hotel, rooms were fine, breakfast was very good. Service was exceptional, drinks rather expensive.

« Over night stay for work »

Can't really fault this hotel , a little untidy out in the patio area but apart from that a good stay which was reasonably priced , clean rooms and attentive staff , very quiet area , would stay again no problem .

« MARRIED IN THE EVERGLADES »

A great hotel, in a reasonably secluded spot. The rooms are clean and cosy and the all you can eat breakfast is very tasty. The staff are proactive and friendly and very accommodating. My now Wife and I got married at the Everglades August 19th 2017 and I can't even begin to tell you what a brilliant job the hotel did of decorating the tables and the room for our after ceremony meal. The Wedding planner Amy is amazing and she spent weeks ensuring our special day went without a hitch... We can't thank Amy enough. I consider myself well travelled and count the Everglades amongst my favourites.

    « Very nice »

Great location for everything we needed to do in the area just off motorway. Room very clean and comfortable. Pillows could have been a little softer. Breakfast was very tasty. And all staff very helpful. Older Lady working on breakfast,(unfortunately I did not get her name) was very naturally friendly and helped us a lot cleaning up our 9months old sick one morning in the restaurant.

Having had a superb wedding with all the arrangements and meals, etc exceeding our expectations on 14 Feb 2017 I cannot understand the bad reviews that have been given..All our friends who were at our day and have attended various other functions at the Everglades say the same..well done to all the staff - we will definitely be back

    « Conference »

Stayed here for a conference with work, first impressions were really good, very clean and tidy and smelt fresh! Bedroom was lovely and breakfast was one of the best I have had All the staff were very friendly and helpful The presentation of the conference food was different and modern, felt like we were in the city centre - would definitely recommend

    « 50th birthday stop over »

Clean and tidy room with ample amenities. Bed was a good sized double and very comfy. Despite the hotel being quite busy we had a quiet stay and great sleep. Shower was hot although the extractor fan didn't work meaning I did get a bit over heated. Bar meal was lovely as was breakfast.

    « Good central place »

Second time we have stayed here and some of the hotel has had a revamp. Safe car parking, excellent size rooms. This time we had some problems with our room ( a broken toilet and no cold water) which we reported, these had been fixed by the evening on our return. The rooms seemed clean but there was chocolate wrappers on the floor beside our son's bed which made me check the cleanliness of the bedding too. On check out i was told that I had to pay for the evening meal which they claimed I had in the restaurant. This was not the case and I was able to prove that all 8 of us had eaten elsewhere. The cost of the meal which we had not had was removed from the bill, there was no apology from the staff.

« We felt like we were abroad »

When we first pulled up to the hotel we were really impressed. It looked like something from a foreign resort with well kept beautiful hanging baskets and attractive exterior. The car park was large and barrier secured so it was really easy to get our luggage into the hotel. Inside we were not disappointed as the hotel was very clean and the staff really friendly. Our room was on the first floor and we were lucky enough to have a Juliet style balcony which gave us lots of light and air into the room. The room was very clean and spacious. The only negatives in the room were that there a was certain knack to flushing the toilet which took a bit of practice to get the hang of and the toilet paper was really poor quality. We stayed B&B and the dining room was lovely and open, light and spacious with the staff doing their best to keep everything topped up as it ran out. Again we enjoyed our breakfast (the mushrooms were especially yum) however the only downside was that the food was not very hot -maybe this was because it was buffet style, I'm not sure but it would have been perfect it it was hot as the food was good quality. Overall we had a great stay in a clean comfy room and would definitely stay again.

    « Shabby! »

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding and although the wedding was great and the staff where wonderful the hotel it's self is so shabby I couldn't believe how much I was paying for it. Mould in the bathroom. 3 lights out in the room. It was that dark at night that I had to use my phone light to see at the other end of the room. Lots of things needed attention. Down stairs and outside looked lovely at first but the longer you look the more things we saw. I slept well although every time I flushed the toilet it would make a loud dripping sound for about 15 minutes after flushing. Breakfast and dinner food not good. Although the cheese cake and kids meals where good. Very expensive alcohol tab at the end of the night.. wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely staff, The room was a little dated tbh not what we was expecting!!! The main room where wedding was held looked a lil cheap and dated carpet was in need of a vacuuming as bits everywhere round skirting boards looked like not been cleaned properly, bar very expensive please reduce why does hotels feel the need to over charge at the bar ????

    « Okay Really »

Went against my better judgement in booking this Hotel. Continually travelling world wide I am really not a great fan of Best Western hotels. Having said that I have been pleasantly surprised by the Everglades. It is well located within easy access of the M62. There is an abundance of car parking. The check in was prompt and facilitated by a bright and cheerful you lady on reception. The room was very comfortable without going over the top. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I would definitely stay here again.

« Close to motorway network »

Large car park, late checkout 1pm allowed as a diamond card holder. Room was of good size and everything worked satisfactory. Both breakfast and evening meal offered a fair choices of dishes and there was nothing to be dissatisfied with.

    « Shabby »

Tired rooms with poor upkeep and maintenance. Contact lens on the bathroom door The towel hook wasn't attached so fell on the floor. The cord to the iron was damaged with wires sticking out. The TV was small with poor reception and the carpet was past it's best. Find somewhere else - this is nasty.

    « Shiny bathrooms = very slippy »

I have regularly stayed at the Everglades Hotel on a business stopover, although not for some time now. i find it to be a totally acceptable hotel, certainly has more personality and charm than the usual stopover hotels which are soulless, in my opinion. I have always found the staff to be helpful, polite, professional and most welcoming. I particularly am impressed with the way you are given your room number totally discreetly - a must for any female lone traveller. One negative on my last stay though, which was over a year ago... I secretly admired the lovely shiny bathroom, envious of the dazzlingly bright tiles, bath and mirror. The cleaners here must be very fit with all that scrubbing and buffing, I thought. However, I filled the bath...Great, Luxuriously deep bath, just about to lay back and soak, when I realised I had forgotten to bring in my face cloth and soap...Shoot, had to get out and get it. Went to climb back in bath when suddenly WHOOSH, I slipped right down the full length of the bath, totally submerged and shocked. I managed to get upright in bath, had a little giggle to myself, thanking goodness I had not been hurt. I then lay back, still sniggering and my daftness when i noted that water dripped from the ceiling. The splash was so great it hit off the ceiling and was now dripping on to me. I also had a look at the floor - it was swimming, I wondered why I had to put more water in bath! I threw down all the towels (sorry) to mop up and finished my bath. Got out and guess what? I Slipped again on wet floor. By this time I was rather annoyed. I opened the bathroom door and horrors of horrors, not only had the water gone on bathroom floor, it had seeped through and under the door. I spent my evening mopping up the carpet with what towels were left (sorry again) Anyway, my conclusion as to why the bath was so shiny? It must have been some kind of cleaning stuff that makes things sparkly, perhaps this could be looked into? So, an adventurous trip for me that time. Hopefully the nice reception staff don't notice my blushes if ever I check in again

« Good room and service »

We stayed here for three nights visiting friends in the area. When we checked in the Receptionist told us that she'd given us a room a good distance from Reception as there was to be a wedding in the hotel next day. Nice thought as the guests could have been a bit noisy!! We had a lovely big room with a nice view and breakfast was very good too. So no complaints. Good value

    « Very Good Hotel »

We spend last weekend at this hotel and to be frank, I really enjoyed the stay. A very good view from our room, the room was very spacious and the hotel service was fab! There's breakfast buffet for £10, which I think is worth a try! 10mins away from this hotel is St.Helens and there's lots of restaurants and supermarkets if you need anything. The only concern I had was the room was really hot, there was no fan or AC in the room. But besides that I really enjoyed the stay and will definitely recommend this hotel to my families/friends.

« Best Everglades Park Hotel. Widnes. »

Visited the Best Everglades Park Hotel on 2nd to 3rd July '17. Really nice hotel and once settled in had a nice evening and stay. The meal came with a bottle of wine and the food was delicious with very generous servings. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Our room was fairly clean but nice and comfy. On arrival there was 2 partys going on so was unable to access the bar as they were private only and felt a little uncomfatable being placed on a bar table in what seemed to be the passage to the restaraunt so we could have a drink and sandwich. We retired to our room which was on the ground floor but window opened up onto the gardens with the private party which was noisy and not private. People looking in at you and childrens heads popping in the window. General maintence and housekeeping in room 106 could do with a looking at. Stained matress.s and protectors and dirty sheets left under matress.s. On the whole after 6pm it was a really nice evening away.

    « Don't bother »

This hotel has no idea about customer service. They don't seem to go out of their way for you. Very disappointed. I find that a local bed and breakfast seems to be more attentive to my needs. Please don't bother folks.

    « Comfortable »

Only stayed here one night, friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. A bit confusing exiting the car park, you need a code for the barrier when leaving but you've got to make sure you exit the right way so as to input the code into the machine. So if unsure just ask at reception etc..Would stay here again if visiting the area.

    « Tired »

We stayed here recently as was convenient to the stadium. Hotel is very tired and needs modernising..... it's all beige!. Room was odd, as it opened out into a second room which had another tv, sofa's and a second bathroom..... why ? Free fruit consisted of 2 oranges and free soft drinks were 2 bottles of water !. At the bar they offered raspberry mohito... shame the receptionist that wanted to serve us did not know what she was doing. Had to wait too long to be seated at breakfast as only 2 people serving. To their credit...the cooked breakfast was hot. No sign of the continental breakfast (normally it is all laid out) only basics ie cereal. Had to ask for organge juice as jug was empty, Would I stay again.... yes if there was no where else available !

    « good - as always »

Stay here regularly , I think that tthey have so many regulars says a lot , The Staff always do their best to make the stay a good one. The quality of food is great, and a nice cold Guinness helps it to go down.

« Worst Best Western I've ever stayed in »

Staff very young, not trained and not supervised. Staff seemed to be expected to cover everything, Falty Towers here we come. Staff very helpful, they did their best but there was nowhere near enough of them, they covered reception, the bar, the dining room. You name it the same faces were behind the desk or the notepad. No sign of any senior staff or anyone above the age of 30. Ate in the restaurant the first night, very expensive and very, very poor food. Would not recommend eating here at all. Sunday lunch was going strong the day we left, this looked good but after our experience on our first night we were reluctant to risk it. Our first night there was 10 of us, the only people in the bar but there was nobody to serve us a drink. Only one poor young chap behind reception who had to deal with some unruly late arrivals on his own. There was a lot of noise in the corridor late in to the night, doors opening and slammed shut again and again. As the poor chap on reception was on his own did not want to ring down as he would not be equipped to cope if there was any trouble from the guests involved. Our second night we arrived back, there was a wedding on. Because the function room does not have a bar and the hotel bar was the wedding bar we as residents were not allowed in the bar. Two nights in a row we were unable to get a drink in our hotel. The young staff again did their best, they let us in to the restaurant and ran in and out to us with some drinks. Again, only young people around, no sign of anybody in a senior position. The rooms were okay, pretty clean. The hotel stairs and hallways were not, very grubby, worn carpet which was dirty when we arrived and still dirty when we left. It did not appear to have been hoovered over the length of our stay. Breakfast was included, it was ok. Standard fair, adequate but only just. Would not recommend.

« Great place for weddings. »

We had our wedding here on 26th May 2017. It's fair to say that the hotel certainly go the extra mile to make it special. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave they are available to support you and make it a day to remember. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is very good quality. This hotel is highly recommended.

Just stopped at this lovely hotel and booked through Wowcher which included 2 course evening meal and wine also breakfast. What a lovely surprise the room was very nice, all the staff were so friendly but food was absolutely delicious and breakfast was in abundance there was everything you could want.. but it was so nice not to be treated differently because we had a discount.I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back thanks for an enjoyable stay..

« Perfect midweek break location »

This is a 3 star hotel. So don't expect the Ritz. However the rooms are a decent size, there is plenty of parking and the price is good. Easy to reach all the local tourist things Liverpool has to offer using this as a base. Widnes close by has a great retail park. The food is fine if you are on dbb rate, although the menu for vegetarian is limited. The food is rich! Pack elastic waistband trousers! All in all good value , good service, clean tidy and respectable, value for money. Pets allowed.

« Excellent Sunday carvery lunch »

Called in on a Sunday lunchtime without booking. The staff were very friendly and found us a table straight away. The carvery was delicious with a choice of three meats, beef, Turkey and ham with the usual help yourself carvery items, roast, boiled and mashed potatoes, cabbage, carrots and turnip, green beans, mini sausages, Yorkshire pudding And stuffing all very tasty and priced at £7.95 very good value for money. There were a choice of starter and desserts at a reasonable price but we were full after the main meal.

    « Overnight Stay »

Good location, easy to get to. Pleasant and friendly staff - always had a smile. Ample parking. There was a private function in the bar during our stay so expected to be disturbed during the evening but wasn't and had a very good nights sleep in comfy beds! Room and areas were clean and well presented. Wi-Fi worked in all areas which pleased my daughter! Would return.

    « Very good »

Stayed for a week visiting family in the area and was not disappointed. The rooms are clean and spacious, great bar area with a wide variety of food and drink choices. The restaurant has decent food and the ambiance was very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Housekeeping could have been a bit more aware of what ran out in the room, but overall they did a good job. Parking lot was so large so no problem finding a spot. There was a party one night in the bar but we couldn't hear any noise as they closed all doors in the hallways. Really pleasant stay and would recommend for a basic, clean and friendly property close to Warrington.

    « Appalling »

Please, please do not stay here. Never have I been to a place like this, booked in ok, went to our room - the stairs on the way up were filthy and would be better suited to a factory. The room was disgusting, dirty sheets, saggy mattress that had seen better days and the bathroom was shocking and the smell of the place. I have never complained about a hotel before, but demanded my money back and left as could not stay here. Would give it a minus score if I could.

    3
« Generally good but a couple of housekeeping points let it down.0 »

My room was a good size with a decent sized tv. The bed was large and very comfortable. Room service menu offered a really good choice and was delivered in a timely manner. The only downsides for me were a couple of housekeeping problems...although my bedroom was spotless the stairs up to the first floor and landing needed a vacuum (this may have been because I didn't check in till 5pm so people may have tracked in dirt after it had been hoovered) and the plughole in the bath had quite a few (long) hairs trapped in it (although the rest of the bathroom was clean).

« Very enjoyable stay, we'll definately come back »

The hotel is attractive and there is plenty of parking. At the reception we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff and the standard of friendliness and courtesy from all the staff continued throughout our 2 day visit. Our room was large and very clean, there was plenty of storage and the bed was very comfortable, The food was delicious and the whole experience extremely good value.

« HOTEL NOT TO BLAME FOR BRAWL »

To the last reviewer, first of all sorry to hear we kept u up all night due to enjoying the wedding., which usually play music until 1 am, the norm. As for the brawl, this was unavoidable, it was more me restraining an unwanted guest, trying to keep the peace, knowing that people where sleeping, good reason, the police where called yes so it was dealt in the right way, you make it sound like a night club with people just fighting for fun, now that's out the way, I have stayed in hotels all over the world with my job. (An airline pilot) and have to say it was acceptable in every way, facilities, affordability and competent professional staff not forgetting how young they are, great management, great food, great atmosphere amazing for wedding occasions, BRAVO ALL STAFF, definitely recommend, hope to see you again

« Don't expect to get any sleep! »

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday while a wedding reception was going on in the bar and function room. The staff were all very friendly when we arrived and our first floor room was what you'd expect for the price however we were slightly concerned as our window overlooked the weddings function room and outside area. The bed was reasonably comfy and the TV was very basic with a few channels. Another thing we noticed was the taps in the bath had been mixed up so the hot was cold and the cold was hot! We had dinner in the Hotel which I have to say was excellent, top marks to the chef! We then retreated to our room where by this time the music in the wedding was thumping and could be heard very loud in our room! The door to our room also shook and made a loud noise every time someone opened another door down our corridor which I managed to rectify by jamming the do not disturb sign between the frame and the door! Something that I couldn't fix was the constant, and i mean constant, slamming of a door just below us. Maybe it was a service door or a door that wedding guests were using? We did manage to get to sleep for an hour or 2 but was then awoken around 2AM by screaming and shouting from down the corridor where a full on brawl had started! This continued for about an hour until the police came and people started to go back to their rooms. Of course a lot of the guests were in adjacent rooms to us so all we could here was drunken talking, arguments, falling over etc. This, paired with the constant slamming of doors kept us awake until 5am. When we checked out in the morning the reception staff didn't ask how our stay had been and started talking to another customer. If the food was as bad as the stay and I had paid more than I had then done then I would have stayed to say something but we just wanted to get out of there to be honest. I will just say again though, the food was exceptional and the staff in the restaurant were all very pleasant. A real shame about the rest of the stay.

« Nothing Special but OK »

We stayed for two nights while we attended the Grand National. The first night Friday was very noisy with guests returning from a good day out at the National obviously after a few to drink. No fault of the hotels just rude guests who had no thought for others. After attending the National on the Saturday we decided to have a drink in the bar but due to a wedding we were told to go to the restaurant and staff would bring our drinks to us.Not the best of service wedding guests seemed more important. We had breakfast on both days £10 each resonable value for the money.Staff were very pleasant. One major fault was every time someone closed a door there was no soft close on the doors all you could hear was the door banging shut maybe the hotel management could rectify the problem as i feel its a major issue especially at night.Plenty of room in the car park no problems. If we were up that way again i think we would look around for other accomodation as this wasn't cheap for what can only be described as an average hotel.

    « Party time »

We stayed for one night so that we could attend a birthday party. When we arrived there were two wedding receptions going on and the foyer was full of wedding guests. Even so, the receptionist was courteous and efficient and soon had our rooms sorted. The rooms themselves were of a good standard with tea, coffee, ironing board, etc. The beds were comfortable too and the only downside really was that anyone walking the corridor could be easily heard even when speaking at normal levels. Thankfully the hotel was quiet when we wanted to sleep. Checkout was quick and easy but finding the keypad to raise the exit barrier wasn't quite so. It is away from the actual barrier and can only be reached from the driver's side of the vehicle when approached from one particular route around the carpark. Despite this we had a pleasant stay.

« A proper hotel, great staff and convenient location »

I have been using this Hotel as an alternative to the national chains for single overnight stays on business. It is a proper hotel rather than one of the chain 'Lodge' or 'Inn' that frequent our A-roads! The welcome is warm, rooms clean and beds comfortable. Rooms are quiet although the sound deadening between rooms is not quite up to the newer building standards. Plenty of tea and coffee - even hot chocolate and biscuits too! Breakfast is buffet style when busier, or cooked to order - both are great! Parking is plentiful, you don't have to worry about the car next to you being too close to open the doors! Evening meal menu looks to be a little on the expensive side - but if it is as good as breakfast, is probably good value!

« We like this one »

We have stayed at this hotel previously and found the rooms to be clean, tidy and in good repair with plenty of hot water and as always excellent and friendly staff. We were at one of the parties on Saturday night and agree the music was too loud but I believe this is an exception rather than the rule. Wherever possible we check with the hotels in advance. Breakfast tasty and substantial. Zoe, the General Manager is extremely helpful and professional

    « Very impressed. »

We were visiting our son in Huyton and the Premier Inn at Roby was fully booked so we had to find somewhere else at short notice. The Best Western Everglades came up..it seemed very cheap but beggars can't be choosers so wasn't expecting much and it was only for one night after all. Well it completely surpassed my expectations....the room was a decent size and very clean..the ensuite wasn't large but perfectly adequate and again very clean.Nice hospitality tray..large fluffy towels and comfortable bed..what more do you need? Breakfast next morning was excellent..buffet style but everything you could want.Nicely laid out dining room and again everything clean.Next time we are visiting Huyton we will stay here again...cheaper and actually nicer in every respect than The Premier Inn...never thought I would be saying that when we booked it.

« Attractive venue, friendly staff »

I visited location to attend a wedding. The setting for the wedding was lovely, the right size for a intimate occasion. The food was beautiful, especially the desert (white chocolate mouse). The drinks were quite expensive, and there wasn't a great choice. There were no cask ales, and the Tetley's smooth flow...did not flow smoothly. This is my only complaint, as Zoe and her staff were friendly and helpful throughout the whole day and night.

Usually stay at Premier Inn but all were fully booked. Other hotels seemed expensive so opted for Best Western. Was very surprised at the quality of the hotel at a decent price. will definitely consider again.

    « Nice stay »

We travelled to the hotel as a family of 5 to watch the football at Anfield - it's about a 20 minute drive from here. The hotel were very helpful in sorting our room arrangements, one interconnected room and another double plus chucked in free breakfasts once we were there as there was a confusion with the booking. Rooms were ok, fine for us who used the hotel as just a base to get into Liverpool without paying the high prices of the city. Rooms were clean and tidy but this place needs renovation and rooms need updating, however fine for a night. Breakfast was good, full English with continental options - not sure I would pay the £16 for it if it wasn't included but for free it was great. I would stay again for the night when going up to Anfield.

    « Over night stay. »

Stayed here for one night and it is what it is, a 3 star. Wasn't the best hotel I've stayed in but it did the job and was cheap. Breakfast was nice and I didn't even pay for it when I booked so that was a result. Thanks

« Not the best Best Western I have been to !! »

The room I was given on the ground floor had not been cleaned properly ......hair in the bath, dust and dirt on the skirting boards, cobwebs in both bedroom and bathroom and the carpet was not overly clean. The bed creaked and the matress was lumpy and hard. The bathroom sliding door was not sliding it kept sticking. Being gluten free I was dismayed by the waitress next morning who pointed out i could have toast, no continental and that the full english would be no good !! I pointed out the cereal and the bacon and tomatoes should be ok ! The next morning I and a member of the family I was visiting told the receptionist, they apologised. When I returned to the room later that day the room had been cleaned to a better standard but was still not brilliant, the door to the bathroom had been sorted but the bed was still dreadful. Considering I paid £10/£18 per breakfast it certainly wasnt good value . I was not offered any recompense which I was suprised it being part of such a good group. In my job (before my retirement)as a coaching co ordinator responsible for hotel booking/checking for coach holidays I have booked many Best Westerns but found this one very tired and lacking. The plus note would be the staff who were very friendly.

Excellent night out with partner and friends. Yet again another brilliant night. well organised. Food superb, always a good selection of well cooked food by Andy the chef and his team. Service from waiting on staff also excellent. Zoe, James, and Michelle had everything well organised on the night and staff were so helpful and friendly. Excellent value for money which included 3 course meal( NOT a set menu but a choice), cabaret artist and DJ Will certainly be returning to another theme night.

    « 1st visit to the Everglades »

Arrive at the Everglades 22nd October after a long drive . Staff friendly, given our room key . Our room wasn't great or that clean , spillages all over the walls. Bathroom old and dated . We had booked a family room, only to be told on arrival they was none left. The camp bed they had in the room was appalling. My 9 year old son sat on it and it collapsed. Complained to reception and where told they would replace it with a proper single bed . Breakfast was fantastic. Best western no way , but staff are a credit to the hotel. Would I stay again ? No way rooms are tatty not that clean and in need of a major update .

    « Good 3* Hotel »

Stopped at this hotel as part of celebrating the 50th birthday of good friends. Easy access from the motorway makes this easy to find and it is a very pleasant comfortable hotel. Rooms are spacious and well decorated and the public areas are spacious and clean. A hotel we would use again.

    « Fantastic little hotel! »

I've stayed here a number of times over the past few months, and I've got nothing but positive things to say about the Everglades. Hotel staff are always friendly and welcoming, from the reception desk, to the restaurant and bar. I've always had a warm welcome when arriving at the hotel, and nothing is ever too much trouble! Rooms are well sized, and have always been spotless when I've stayed, and the bathrooms are fantastic. It's one of the only hotels I've been to where I actually fit in the bath properly (I'm 6ft2). This is especially welcome after a long day in work! Restaurant, I cannot fault the food. If you like pasta, give the carbonara a go, you won't be disappointed. The only thing that could be improved on is to put the pasta dishes in a larger bowl. The smaller bowls make everything seem a bit squashed. All in all, fantastic little hotel. Would definitely recommend for people staying in the area either for business or pleasure.

    « Uncomfortable Bed »

Stayed for just one night as we were visiting a couple of places nearby over the weekend. Car parking is good and free and check in was smooth and friendly staff member on reception explained everything. Room and bathroom were fine however the bed was one of the most uncomfortable ones we have slept on. This is due to the "king" sized bed actually being two singles zipped together leaving a large uncomfortable space in the centre with ridges and bumps. One night was enough! There was a note given to us explaining with the use of a traffic light system the best time to go down to avoid queues at breakfast. However this only works if breakfast is ready at the "green light" time. We arrived to find that everything was not set up and ready so it took another 15 minutes before it could be served there were people who had been there 5-10 minutes before us also having to wait. So queues started to form - not the greatest selection on the buffet but what was there was fine. Remember to get the code for the barrier on the way out of the car park.

« Get what you pay for »

Considering the price I paid for the night I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. Very clean and well presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there was a wedding taking place the night I stayed and the rooms aren't very soundproof to the hallways so lots of people running up and down was quite disturbing. Although this was the only thing I could fault the hotel on, I can imagine on a quieter night it would be alright. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast or bar so can't comment on them but for the purpose of my visit it was perfect. Would definitely stay again.

« Disturbed sleep, disappointing breakfast »

Unfortunately we stayed over a weekend when there were wedding receptions both evenings. The closers on the room doors are very fierce so it's difficult to close the doors quietly so woken up in the early hours both nights be banging doors and one one night by loud talking in the corridor. However, room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing - staff not very attentive, orange juice and coffee very weak.

    « Good quality 3* hotel »

Stayed here while leaving our son off to uni. The rooms are bright, clean, airy and a good size. The shower is fantastic with really good water pressure. We had a bit of a blip over breakfast - which was very good. We were told on checking in that it was £10 each and my husband asked if we could just pay the next day and were told yes. When we went into breakfast the next morning the waitress said breakfast was £14.99 as we hadn't pre-booked. I complained that we hadn't been told (we obviously would have booked it) and as there were three of us, it did make a difference. She was adamant that this was their policy and we were annoyed. However when we checked out, we had just been charged £10!! I would recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay but just make sure you pre-book your breakfast.

    « Wedding »

Staff were really friendly. The hotel was clean and well presented. Food in the restaurant for the evening meal was good . The room for the wedding was beautifully presented. Plenty of parking and really close to the motorways, signage to the hotel was good. However the sandwiches for the high tea at the wedding, were slightly stale, the cheese plate needed more biscuits/bread and staff forgot to pour champagne for the speeches. Just a few tweaks and it will be perfect.

« One of the better hotels in Widnes »

The Everglades is situated on the edge of Widnes and there are fields on the other side of the road. So not the usual Widnes vista. The downside of this there is only one alternative for eating and drinking within normal walking distance ( a pub about 10/15mins walk away). There is a large car park but the outside appearance of the hotel is of a faceless motel like structure. Inside it is better although has a style from a few years ago. Everything seemed clean and check in was efficient. The room was very similar to a travel inn , so was fine if not bursting with character. Choice of beer was limited in the contemporary style bar and the restaurant was quite expensive , probably because they have a mainly captive market. Breakfast was OK for a buffet style. Did the job for a short business stay and as Widnes is not blessed with an abundance of acceptable hotels then will probably stay here next time I am in the area.

    « Nice place »

« Good hotel under refurbishment »

Good hotel under refurbishment, good clean hotel, room a good size with housekeeping excellent. Hotel appears to going under refurbhment, from the outside it is not particularly pretty, similar to an old eastern block concrete structure, however inside it's much nicer. The hotel is a bit remote, and nearest pub is a good 15 mins walk away. Had meal in bar area in the evening, which was OK. Breakfast is cooked buffet style and was excellent. Overall would recommend

    « Best Western-slight let down »

Not what I expected. Was in a coach party of 25, stayed 3nights 4days, arrived at 5pm Friday 22nd July . Surprise,a wedding party in progress. No problem with check in . Dinner was at 7pm(not in the main dinning room) ok no problem I thought. My table was tucked in a corner, service very slow-waited 10 minutes after ordering soup(no bread rolls-sorry we do not supply) ??Had to wait 30 minutes before I received my main course. No reason given for the delay. By this time a party of 12 had arrived and seated themselves next to me . The noise from this party was ---!!! To say the least. Oh well, it was a Friday night. Next morning management did apologise to our driver for the delay at dinner. From then on the service did improve 100"/" .Arrived deck at the hotel Saturday at 5pm. Red carpet down -yet another wedding reception . This time a notice was on the bar door " Wedding Party Only" I felt what on earth am I doing here. Main dinning room again not available to us , therefore we had to be content with 6 easy chairs and a small table to use after dinner. Thank goodness the bed room was clean and spacious , bed comfortable. Only one "health and safety hazard " (all bathrooms) Most of us had a problem getting into the high sided bath , there being no safety fails and no bath mat for the shower. An accident waiting to happen.

    « Wedding Venue »

We stayed at this hotel on the 22nd and 23rd of July for a family wedding. The hotel and staff were absolutely fantastic and could not do enough for us, especially Amy Potter. She was there all weekend and was always smiling and helpful beyond words. A great credit to the hotel. Would recommend if you are looking at wedding venues in the area. Alan and Jean

« A rare bad review for a Best Western Hotel »

As a Best Western Diamond member - I normally stay stay at Best Western Hotels 30-40 nights a year - I've become accustomed to my free water, biccies and a nice smiley welcome. Here I got none of that and the wifi didn't work and I wasn't given the option of keeping my bill open so I could pay for drinks at the bar. For a hotel that is supposedly a conference centre the wifi was truly awful, and not for the first time. The rooms are lovely and the food is good, but the staff need lessons in how to smile at customers.

    « In need of a refurb! »

We stayed here after a party at the hotel. The catering was really good, we enjoyed the food and breakfast was excellent. However, the hotel rooms are in dire need of an update. It is all very eighties-very clean but all the furnishings are tired. The bathrooms are functional but far from sumptuous. Very lumpy pillows! It did the job but wouldn't recommend unless you have no other option

    « Better than expected - 3* hotel »

No complaints about this hotels exc you'll need earplugs if you're not staying up until late for a wedding or event; you can hear everything. Hotel staff are lovely although the bar is definitely overpriced. The place could do with a modern update but the bed was really comfy which is always a plus for any hotel. Worth the price we paid, breakfast was piping hot and hearty

    « Paper thin walls. »

My room on the ground floor had curtains off the rails, dripping ball cock in the toilet along with paper thin walls, you could hear everything in the rooms next door, tiny duvet covers that didn't cover you if you turned over, carpets in need of a deep clean, window latches broken, did not make a good first night sleep. I was moved to a slightly larger room the second night on the second floor which was very basic. The hotel is in need of a total revamping and updating to more than a basic hotel. The food was above basic but hot food was not available after 21.30.

« Very above average for the usual Best Western »

I stayed here for one night on business and I have stayed in quite a number of Best Western hotels and this one is way above the average. My room was very good and well equiped with Hair Dryer, Iron and Ironing Board, Tea/Coffee facilities and biscuits and also fairly good quality bathroom extras. there are two areas where you can eat one is the formal restaurant where you can get a 2 course meal for £19.95 which if you are on a business budget is a bit high once you have put a drink or two on the bill. The other area is the bar where they still have a good menu selection, however there are only a couple of stools where you can sit up at the bar otherwise you have your meal on a tray on your lap sat in an armchair or sofa, would be good to have at least a couple of tables for people to sit up properly and eat. All of the staff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was also good, nice and hot and fresahly cooked. One negative is the lack of window locks in my room for a first floor window, easy for children to openm the window and potentially climb out. If I am back in the area I would stay again.

    « Nice stay »

We arrived, checked in (2 couples so therefore 2 separate rooms). Myself and my partner went to our room, and unfortunately the bathroom was not clean at all; I phoned my brother to see if his room was okay and it was. So I asked the lady on reception if we could move, and she was apologetic and moved us closer to my brother on the first floor. That room was fine although could do with a revamp; the hairdryer was very old and the pillows very thick and hard to lay on. My brothers room on the other hand had a door between his room and the next room (Presuming these are used when families stay). He did not like it because he could clearly hear everything that the people in the next room where saying and felt like he couldn't put the t.v on as he didn't want to disturb the people next door. I liked that every room had a iron and a power shower also the complimentary teas, coffees, hot chocolates and cookies. Overall a nice stay.

« Tired and in need of some attention »

Stayed here for a night. Shockingly uncomfortable bed that was so soft that you sank at least 2 foot just lying on it. I ended up having to put the duvet on the floor and sleeping on that. The hotel was tired and in need of a lick of paint - it looked like it was a bit unloved and past its best. The food in the restaurant was ok - even though that again was pretty drab with dirty glasses and culvery and damaged and sticky menus.

    « Welcoming, comfortable hotel »

This was our second stay at the Everglades and once again we were very satisfied with most elements of our stay. The hotel is perfectly placed for the short drive to Langtree Park for rugby, which was the purpose of our visit, and is also only 30 mins from Cheshire Oaks and Ikea, both of which we visited during our weekend stay. They staff at the hotel are, on the whole, very welcoming and attentive. Our only disappointment was the service we received at our first breakfast when we were made to feel inferior to guests who were staying at the hotel due to being guests at a wedding there. Other than this we enjoyed our stay in a lovely room with French doors and an extremely comfortable bed. The free internet service is excellent. A special thank you to the lady from housekeeping who went above and beyond in finding me some lavender pillow mist!

    « needs a revamp »

Stayed here as we were at a wedding nearby. The room was clean but seemed a bit dated and carpet stained in quite a few areas. We heard very little noise during the night but didn't sleep well due the very lumpy pillows. Breakfast was okay but even at eight o'clock there was very little left on the continental side which didn't get replenished even though we were told they were fully booked. The location was perfect for us and we appreciated the secure car park. For what we paid it was a bargain but I would have been unhappy paying full price.

    4
    « Pleasant western »

First visit and probably won't be the last to be fair to the place. Safe secure car park, clean, tidy, good staff, nice food, central location, reasonable price. No negative comments. Speedy check in and out by a very very pleasant well inked lady. Room was an ok size, double bed and seating area. Brilliant shower very powerful gets a 9. Food in the bar was very good and staff very welcoming and polite. The restaurant has had some money spent on it and it is to a high standard. Breakfast was good what you expect hot and cold buffet style. For the price it's a treat.

    « 'Worst Western' »

At the time of booking (same day) we were never made aware that there was a wedding on which would have been a no go for us to start with. I'd always advise a hotel to make guests aware of this. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect anyone to curb their big day, but I don't expect to be treated as a second rate citizen by the hotel just because there is a wedding on. I have stayed at hotels hosting a wedding before and they have been brilliantly managed. Upon arrival we didn't get the greatest reception, "Can I help you?" Would have been nice. Many guest were milling about and two even pushed in front of us unchallenged. Clearly the girl on reception had had a lot to deal with already but each new guest should be treated with a smile. When we got to our room the pelmet was quite thick with dust and there was also a ripped bed sheet. It was rather noisy. The room was old and tired and needed a damned good clean. The electrical sockets around the room looked very questionable, sometimes one socket was layered on top of another! Certainly misleading from the pictures online. At 8pm we went down to our meal. The ambient music in the restaurant was only a background against the music of the wedding. The wine list was extortionate £72 for a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne and the meals certainly weren't worth the prices being charged. We had a bottle of wine for around £25 which would have probably been about £14-£16 in other hotels. Some of the waiting staff seemed inexperienced and weren't familiar with the menu or how things should work. The food was nice but not extraordinary. We had our starter and main then ordered dessert and an espresso. Our espresso arrived with the message that we would have to wait for our dessert as they were serving food to the wedding party! I always thought the coffee was served at the end of the meal. We made our way back to our room (discovering a very dangerous bannister on the stairs as we went) and as it was hot we opened the window. Unfortunately this meant we could hear the disco very loudly. The TV remote had seen better days and not all buttons worked. Eventually we had to make the choice between being too hot or no longer hearing the disco. Closing the window helped a little but it still took a long time before it was quiet enough to sleep. Shortly after, my husband awoke and began to feel ill. It could have been the chicken or the pork but something certainly had disagreed with him and he was kept awake for most of the night. All in all a dreadful nights sleep. We got up early for breakfast at 7:30 and already the continental choice was lacking / non existent. I asked if they were going to bring out any pastries only to be told that they only had a couple left as the ovens has been turned up to cook breakfast and they couldn't bake more. I remind you, this was at around 7:40. We even had to use table spoons to stir hot drinks and our table had been picked clean of jam for the toast. When we checked out we were never asked if we'd had a pleasant stay so I relayed our concerns to reception anyway. I was told that the manager would contact me when she arrived but it's now 4:30 and I've heard nothing. I can't say I'm surprised. We've stayed at many Best Westerns and been thrilled, even choosing one to spend the first night of our honeymoon at one. This hotel was by far the most disappointing. The one positive is that the wireless was adequate so we were able to drown out all of the noise by watching Netflix.

« Meal and entertainment ( hen party) »

1st time here, not sure if I would ever go back!! The meal was really nice, they take your orders for starters and desserts then you help yourself to a car very for mains. The food was hot and tasty and for the price was more than I bargained for. Entertainer was good and tried his best to get everyone involved. My problem was the place feels very cold and no atmosphere!! The bar is really small and there was only 1 person serving which meant you spend most of the night queuing for a drink!! Staff were friendly but I am always truthful with my reviews and I don't think it's my sort of place

    « Great choice »

Arrived around 5 pm, was welcomed by the very friendly receptionist, after a nice chat and exchanges of witty humor we checked into our room. The room was clean and spacious, lovely linen and cozy bed. The shower was very powerful and just what you need after a long drive. We went to dinner around 7 pm, it was very quiet, didn't expect much more being a Sunday, we were taken care of by lovely Laura, she had a natural enthusiasm for her work which I love, she described the particulars of our deal as we travelled on a wowcher. My partner and I thought due to this we would be served up half portions as you do in most places on these deals. Couldn't of been more wrong, the portions and quality were Fab, forced my way through 3 delicious courses highly recommending the pancakes for desert fantastic. We travelled with our 9 nth old, the staff were more than happy cooking requested items for her at no extra cost. Just had yet another shower before going to breakfast which could consist of fried spam, would still leave us waxing lyrical about the place...... All for 69.00 quid, feel like leaving 50 quid on the bed.....

    « Excellent can't fault it »

Just had a night stay here for my friends wedding and I've got to say I can't fault the hotel. Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. The double room we had was very spacious clean and comfortable. Iron and board in room aswel as tea and coffee making facilities. The bar area and function room was modern and clean. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style, it was hot , fresh and replenished regularly. I would definitely stay here again. 5 stars

Very clean hotel rooms are clean with fantastic showers. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Good food at a price. I had 10 weeks here and the stay was made easier by the staff Will be staying here again. A* Plenty of parking and very close to a good Indian restaurant and close to shops and good transport links.

« Pleasantly surprised, and good value »

Booked for a business trip with a colleague, and was very impressed - OK the decor was a little dated and tired (not too much) but decent WiFi for working, hot powerful shower and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was EXCELLENT quality, better than I've had in recent weeks, and I travel a lot. Final gift was the price - all in all - very good value.

« Top Stay in Widnes »

When ever I tell people I am staying in Widness I always hear a groan of "poor you". However the Everglades is a lovely hotel, quietly situated opposite the Golf Course with great access to the main roads. And because Widnes is not considered to be as nice as Warrington or other parts of Cheshire its superb value for money. Bed in a large twin room, breakfast & 2-course evening meal £110. And of course BWs free Wifi. What a great deal !!!

    4
    « Last minute booking »

Managed to get a room booked on the morning I was going up to stay. Reasonably priced, clean and really comfortable beds. Has everything you need in the rooms, really good value. Also easy to find, signposted as you come off the motorway. What was really lovely was the fact it's surrounded by trees so you wake up to the sound of birdsong. I didn't have breakfast so can't rate the food

« Lovely ,bright ,spotless and friendly »

Well what a lovely surprise on arrival we arrived for the night to stay over as we was going to a party night at the hotel .They did a good deal in the room as we where at the function the room wad lovely bright clean and everything was catered for .The party night was excellent and great value the food was good to and great value .The only small compliant is there was a long long wait to be served at the bar and when we went down to the residents bar we where told we couldn't use it as we where at the function !!! Breakfast was very good would recommend the hotel and would definitely return thanks everglades

« Pleasant location in suburbs »

The hotel is used for weddings and other events and so I recommend checking what is on and asking for a quiet room as far away from the function rooms as possible. We were not disturbed by noise in spite of a wedding, hen night and 30th birthday party. We were also able to eat in the restaurant which is good as there are no restaurants within comfortable walking distance. There is no residents bar and so on some nights there is nowhere to sit apart from a small area in reception if the main bar is in use for a function. The problems people mention with hot water not being available seem to be resolved. The helpful lady on reception said that a new system being put in had caused problems for a while. If you are going by train into Liverpool then take your phone and taxi numbers as it is about 25 mins walk to the station which after a day out might feel too far to walk back. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

    « Wedding 22/04/16 »

I would just like to thank Amy, James and Zoey along with all the unseen and dedicated team who contributed in making our day so complete and perfect. The whole process from booking the venue to the day itself, ran smoothly, Amy ensured it was stress free and all our needs and wishes where met. The bridal suite was amazing with a few surprises and special touches thrown in, both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, each and every guest commented on how spectacular the food was.. I would therefore recommend the Everglades as a wedding venue if you are seeking the perfect wedding package with that personal touch. Mr & Mrs Prescott

    « Christening 28/02/2016 »

I had my daughters Christening/1st Birthday party here on Sunday 28th February 2016 and it was fantastic. We had the Biscayne Suite and a Carvery for 100 guests and every single one of our guests commented on how amazing the food tasted and how beautiful the room was. I want to say a huge thank you to James and the staff who made our day run so smoothly. It was perfect from start to finish. Our Family from Ireland also stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and could not fault the hotel or service.

Would stay again if going back up to Widnes. Clean. Good room facilities. Good breakfast. Very hot water so be careful. Not complaining. Better than too cold. Just keep an eye on little one using the bathroom on there own.

    « Worst Western hotel »

Stayed here because we thought it looked the best in Widnes where we were attending a function. HOW WRONG CAN YOU BE. Room generally dirty. Lamp shade broken. Wall paper damaged. Dust on bedside lamps. Nasal waste on wall paper next to bed. Dressing table sticky. Heater coffee stained. Bedding clean but had a stain. Light switches and sockets dirty. TV screen not cleaned. Phone filthy. Kettle not clean. You couldn't have a shower without soaking the bathroom floor. The breakfast is OK but very average except the serving facilities are terrible. If you don't want to queue for 15 to 30 minutes you need to be up early. It was the only room as the hotel was fully booked with a wedding and we didn't have time to go elsewhere or we certainly would have. All this and it's not cheap at £84 a night which is OK if it's good. It's obvious that there is a lack of care and little management. Because it could be good. DON'T GO!!!!

« Check to see if a wedding function is on before you book. »

The hotel was of a good standard, the staff are lovely but the promotion of weddings now means travellers suffer when drunk wedding guests take over the hotel, disrupt the peace and tranquility of what should have been a pleasant stay, we weren't allowed to sit in the bar, very disappointed with my stay and no apology or recompense was offered.

    « Home from home »

Finally returned to my favourite hotel! Stay was fab; clean, quiet and staff doing above and beyond as always. I honestly can not thank management and staff enough on how well I'm looked after. The new biscuits in the rooms are lovely and the shower system that is in the middle of an upgrade will be great when its done. Honestly can't wait to be back again!

    « Needs updating »

Upon arrival we were given room 128 and can't fault the room whatsoever, lovely big room with a big tv, coffee and tea, fruit, cookies, bath robes and slippers etc and lovely and warm! We had the afternoon tea for two which we got off wowcher, which was ok could of been better not worth the price! Two tiny profiteroles, 2 tiny pieces of carrot cake and 2 tiny pieces of sponge with a scone each and not very nice sandwiches which where really skinny. The leisure facilities need updating badly, the hand rails on the jacuzzi are very wobbly not very safe and everywhere needs a good clean and scrub! The sauna and steam are ok again they need a good scrub and especially the changing area. I had a massage in cleopatras which was amazing however not very relaxing you can see the pool area from the spas reception, looks quite tacky to me, basically needs a whole makeover to look more relaxing and needs to be more separate from the pool/gym area, we decided to have tea in the restaurant as the bar food although cheaply priced could only be eaten at the bar where there were people constantly walking in and out as you could see reception from the bar etc all open plan, did regret this because in the restaurant the lights were on really bright, noisy children and people walking past constantly they need to do something so the layout of the restaurant is more relaxing, quiet and so you can eat your meal in peace. The Meal was nice, the spring roll slightly greasy, the pork was lovely but the potatoes a little soggy. We did see someone eating the bar food in the restaurant which we were told wasn't allowed which was annoying! The bar area was full of kids at 10pm running around etc so we just went to bed haha! All in all was nice to get away for the night with my partner after having twins 3 months ago wouldn't go back but was an ok stay x

    4
    « Friendly stay »

Stayed overnight and was pleasantly surprised due to the price i paid. Rooms clean and tidy and staff helpful. Happy to stay again and would recommend for a overnight stay. In a quiet part of town so no noise from passers by or traffic as the road is a good distance from the hotel.

« Convenient for the airport »

This was used as a stop over prior to an early morning flight from Liverpool, airport is about 15 mins away. Hotel presents an impressive image, however, the budget price we paid reflected it's location which is convenient rather than a destination in own right. Room was comfortable, bar food excellent and staff were helpful. Restaurant looked expensive. Beware, booking requests didn't seem to have filtered through to hotel - e.g no bed prepared for our 3 year old. This was quickly resolved on arrival however.

    « Exceeded Expectations »

I had read a few poor reviews on this hotel prior to my stay. Was pleasantly surprised by the decor and quality of the room - windows opened out onto veranda, bed was large and comfortable. The highlight was the food in the restaurant - much more high-end than you would expect, and service was excellent. After meal, relaxed in tastefully decorated coffee lounge with delicious Russian coffee. Good location, easy to find and ample parking.

    « Daughter's Christening »

Lovely venue, been here many times and always had a very good experience. We recently had my daughter's Christening here and we were very pleased with service. The staff took care of everything and were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend as a party venue!

    « Extremely noisy stay »

Room was dated and cold. There was an old electric heater on the wall but the heat was escaping through a drafty window. Only 2 plugs in the whole of the room so had to keep unplugging the TV to use the kettle or chargers. The rooms nearby were occupied by noisy visitors who didn't care about other residents as they shouted to each other along the corridor at 2.15am. Very limited choice for breakfast. Had to keep asking for simple things like sauce and it took ages for staff to remove used crockery from the table even though we were the only people in the restaurant. Very disappointed and did not feel we'd had value for money.

« Simple, private, quiet, ideal! »

Stayed here during a business trip. Location is easily accessible. Hotel staff are friendly and informative. Rooms are ideal; warm, very clean, with ample storage and no evident outside noise. Room facilities are good, comfy bed, flat screen TV and wifi is above average reception. Bar and food are very good. Will defo stay here again if working in this area.

    « Regular stay from October 15 - February 16 »

During a contract with United Utilities Oct 15 - Feb 16, I have stayed at this hotel from Monday to Thursday each week. In all this time I have not experienced one cause for complaint. The service, food and room keeping have all been first class. I was also able to agree a regular day rate very quickly. In addition, due to family circumstances, I bring my 2 dogs with me who stay in a dog day care near the hotel during the day - a Labrador and a Dalmatian. The staff have been superb in welcoming them and helping me with these arrangements. Overall, top notch and I'd recommend to anyone.

    « Perfect for a family »

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family over Christmas. Finding a hotel to accommodate our family of 5 usually proves difficult. We were really pleased that we were able to book 2 interconnecting rooms here which was perfect. Our evening meal on arrival on the first night was brilliant, we all really enjoyed it and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were fab, a choice of a continental buffet style breakfast and a full English (and anything in between). The staff were great and very attentive. Great location and easy to find - would recommend and will stay again next time we're visiting family and friends!

    « Staff night out »

We are still very disgruntled as to why you haven't replied to a grievance email that was sent to yourselves the morning of our departure earlier on this month. Surely customer satisfaction is a massive part to any companies infrastructure in modern business. From the moment of entering the hotel we was greeted by a young lady whom seemed to of been distributed and looked as if I had rudely interrupted her chat with her colleague. Then upon arrival into my room; granted I was not expecting the Ritz but bath panels hanging off ? Even when the shower door ( if you can describe it as a door ) was closed the water that was on the floor was horrendous ! Which was reported after another guest forgot to put his wellingtons on to get out of the shower and slid across the floor.... Wall paper pealing away from the walls ? I could carry on but all in all a reply to the email sent would of been at least a small gesture of recognition.

    « Christmas Dinner!! »

This is our fifth year for Christmas dinner and as always we couldn't fault it! Excellent choices of starters and well presented and so tasty! The carvery is delicious 4 different choices of meat or vegetarian choice. 3 choices of desserts which just finished the meal off perfect! Followed by coffee, tea and mince pies! Value for money is excellent! All staff were so friendly and attentive!!!! Only fault I have and it's no fault of the hotel or staff, parents need to keep a check on their children we were punished by children running around and shouting whilst we were eating! Maybe a suggestion for the hotel keep the smaller room for people without young children!

    « Great Staff »

Great team on reception during my stay, nothing was too much trouble. Evening meals were excellent and the chef certainly knows how to cook a steak to the way I wanted it. Room was clean and tidy and I got a great nights sleep. The only negative comment is the Hotel WiFi - a bit slow but it was Free

Every year for the past 5 years we have been coming to this hotel for the Christmas party firstly when we arrived at the hotel they had raised the price then while the men where waiting for us to join them they were sitting in the lounge having a drink and we're told to move out of there in a very unpleasant way then we were told that are party had been moved to upstairs we had to disabled guest with us who found it very hard to go up and down the stairs we were told to just get on with it then when we went upstairs the we were squashed between to table with not much room to move then when my husband when to the bar we were over charged then one of the staff took a bottle of wine that still had wine in it also the drink are so over priced I mean 18 pound for a house wine really then in are room the bed was just two single bed pushed together also the socket in the room doesn't work there was no remote for the TV and the shower was freezing and the on arrival we were asked to fill in are details so we could get a free paper which we never received and all the reception could say well we have got none left so what you want us to then after coming from breakfast none of are card to get in room would work one of are parties are disabled and another has had cancer and couldn't get in his room to use the toilet when I asked why none of are cards worked there reply was they get shut off at 10.30 well we paid until 11.00 so overall are stay was disgusting and we will not be returning after 20 of us paying 139 pound each and buying overpriced drinks at the bar we were treated disgusting and the 3 lady on reception are very rude and I would consider giving them a lesson in manners and customer service !! So I dont advise you stay here

« Ok for one night »

We stayed here as part of a National Holidays trip. When we pulled up outside, I was quite shocked as it looked very dated and needed to be painted outside. I felt it was in the middle of nowhere so you couldn't go out and explore. We were then given our room which was located on the second floor. The staff at reception were very efficient as there was many of us to check in. I felt like our room was basic compared to other hotels I have stayed at. The food was very nice from our set menu but the prices at the bar was very expensive for both alcoholic and soft drinks. Breakfast for a buffet style which was great and nice range of food. The food and staff service made the stay more enjoyable.

    « Basic good hotel »

This a basic hotel in Widnes for the casual traveler. The rate was pretty good for England. The staff were excellent. The room came with breakfast. While the dining arrangements were Spartan, the meal was adequate if not great. The room was clean and large enough. The view of the parking lot left much to be desired. The security is odd with a passcode available in the lobby so you must be checked in to know it.

    « Welcoming Smile! »

Like many other guests of this hotel, this is my home from home four nights a week whist I have been working in the area these past three months. When you arrive at the hotel, you are always greeted with a warm smile from the members of the efficient reception staff headed up by Michelle. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you will always find the documentation ready for you so there is no delay getting to your room. All the rooms are comfortable, with light and airy decor and large comfortable beds. A nice touch is a fresh bottle of water replaced every day with the usual coffee and tea making facilities supplemented with hot chocolate and shortbread biscuits. There is also a nice food selection of bar menu, or in the restaurant, a la carte or table d'hote. Breakfast is a buffet style of either continental or full english. A member of staff who stands out in this department is Amy. Always happy to ensure your food is right. If I had any criticism at all, it would be that the hotel could do with redecorating in places but I am sure this will happen. All in all, excellent value and excellent staff.

    « Well Managed Hotel »

I stayed here for one night with a small dog prior to attending a Dog Show. I could not find any fault with the accommodation provided. The staff were extremely gracious, the food was excellent, the room was excellent and I had a very comfortable nights sleep despite there being a wedding function. My room was on the ground floor at the back of the Hotel .All in all a very well managed hotel.

    « Great Value ! Perfect ! Ideal ! »

My home from home whilst working in the area for the last seven months. From the moment you walk through the door, nothing is too much trouble, your greeted with a warm welcome and smile by a super efficient reception team. Bar is well stocked, has a great selection and is reasonably priced as far as hotels go. Their is an excellent choice of menus to choose from be it, bar, table d'hote or a la carte, you wont be disappointed and the service provided by the bar and dining staff is terrific. Breakfast is very good, plentyful, buffet style, english or continental, perfect start to the day. Rooms are large and spacious, clean and the beds are very comfortable. All in all, excellent value , highly recommended. Declan

    « Excellent Choice - Highly recommend »

Stayed here at the weekend for 2 nights whilst on a tour with Newmarket Holidays. The hotel is very nice, has spacious rooms, very clean with very comfortable beds, the staff were very friendly and very accommodating, nothing too much trouble. The food was very good with a good choice for starters, main & sweet for the evening meal. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice too. All in all we couldn't fault this hotel and wouldn't hesitate in staying here again if we happen to be in the area.

    « Satisfactory »

Stayed for a Saturday night in October whilst visiting Liverpool. Hotel offers excellent value for money compared to staying in Liverpool itself whilst only a short drive away. The hotel got busy at night with a function on downstairs and the only down point seemed to be how thin the bedroom walls were as we were kept awake by people running up and down the corridor for a while.Apart from that the hotel is on a par with Travelodges and Premier Inns and offers a satisfactory nights accommodation for a budget price.

    « Ok »

It's not an especially appealing place to stay but the staff are kind, the rooms clean and you get what you pay for. They don't really have a variety of rooms too chose from, they're all pretty much the same

    « Location, location, location »

It's difficult to know what customers this hotel serves. It advertises itself as a hotel and conference centre and, as far the the latter is concerned it could not be better sited: there is very little around here to distract; it's situated in a largely residential district. It does mean that you do not have much alternative choice where eating is concerned. We were here for a family birthday party and most guests were staying overnight, the event being planned to go on till late. As far as that was concerned the location could not be better: easy to get to with abundant parking. The hotel though is not new and shows some signs of lack of investment. The corridor carpet to the rooms from reception is somewhat threadbare, improving as the further rooms are reached, a natural result of less foot traffic. Were this alone to be replaced, the appearance of the hotel would be vastly improved. First impression count! However, our room (122) was spacious, well maintained, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hanging space for clothes was just a pole across an alcove by the door but with a generous number of hangers. We had no problems. Heating is by electric convector heater with hard to see controls on the end of the panel, but the one and only heater for the entire suite worked well enough once it got going. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. There was absolutely no problems with noise. The bathroom was clean and everything worked. There was a bath and a wall mounted shower at the end, separated from the rest of the room by a glass screen. The water came though hot quite quickly and with an adequate flow. A wall mounted liquid soap dispenser is provided for shampooing and showering. Towels are sufficient in number and good quality. If there is one complaint it is one that can be made of just about every hotel: not enough hooks and rails. The towels were hung at the end of the bath where they could have been better located where they had better opportunity to dry. We didn't have dinner here but we did have breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. The restaurant is clearly one part that has received attention. It was attractively and, seemingly, recently decorated. Breakfast provided a good range of choice, both hot and cold, and all at the same price. I did have to ask for scrambled eggs as only fried where on display, but this arrived promptly. Otherwise, no issues. Service was friendly and welcoming. At just under £90 for the two of us, including breakfasts, it was decent value for money. All in all, so long as you are prepared to overlook the signs of wear, this is a good hotel. We would have no qualms about staying here again should we find ourselves in the area.

    « Staff are great »

Lets be clear , Decor wise -the hotel could do with a few being spent on it, But having stayed here many times now 20+ nights this year alone, I can say that that is more than made up for by the attitude of the staff who i always find helpful and very welcoming. The beds are always clean and rarely do you get a disturbed nights sleep. The food I usually have (steak with peppercorn sauce) is well prepared tasty and gristle free. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

« Not good for a disabled room »

Booked so that we could attend a funeral locally, and specifically asked for a disabled room, whilst the location of the room within the hotel was good, and all the amenities were on the one floor, it was not suitable for a person in a wheelchair. The shower was over the bath so no chance of using it, there was a grab rail over the toilet with the toilet roll holder just below it! etc etc

    « What a dump »

Standards in this hotel have hit rock bottom. Had to fix my own bathroom door to take s shower. Actual shower was filthy, asked for it to be cleaned and nothing happened. Hotel carpets were threadbare in some places Book somewhere else if you can

    « excellent hotel »

spent all day at a wedding here at the Everglades Widnes. i had preconceptions of the hotel, don't know why, but what a suprise. The hotel was fantastic. Clean. large clean room. Excellent staff throughout the hotel. i would not hesitate to stay here again. Only negative was the price of soft drinks at the bar. £1.95 for half a lemonade was a rip off. Drinks were otherwise in line with what you get charged at a wedding.

« Great stay for business and pleasure »

The staff at the hotel are nothing short of phenomenal. Extremely friendly welcome and your made feel very at home. Wee 'Amy' will tend to your every need with a smile and a spring in her step. Rooms are clean and comfortable and they have all you need to make your stay relaxing and leave you wanting for nothing. The hotel food is nothing short of satisfyingly tasty although a weekly change of the bar menu would be advantageous, especially if your here for work and eat in the hotel each night. All in all its a hotel worth visiting for business or pleasure and its location is also handy to Liverpool airport and Docks.

« Worst night "no" sleep after long flight »

The hotel was ok. However, there was a group of rude guests who were in the hallway falling all over the place, talking vey loudly and knocking on doors and slamming doors. They came in around 3am and were rowdy until about 4:30 and then were up at 7 am knocking on their doors. My husband went out three times to tell them to quiet down. They had the nerve to ask him to help pick up their drunk friend off the floor. We called the front desk and ran and ran. No one ever answered the entire time. We told the desk clerk in the morning. She said the desk was staffed 24 hours. Well not sure where that person was. We were offered no resolve. I thought those people should pay for our room or at least the hotel should have done something more. We got no sleep!!!! The clerk said the manager wasnt going to be in until later.

    « Exceeded all expectations »

The Service was what made the stay fantastic. The room was spacious and very clean. Toiletries and free mineral water were great. Breakfast was very nice and the staff serving were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The only thing that could be improved would be more powerful showers. Other than that I could honestly say that this hotel is the best value for money I have ever been to. Every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and just very nice. The receptionists were amazing and the cleaning staff were always happy to clean the rooms whenever it suited you. I never felt hurried out of my room. It is a 3 star hotel as far as amenities etc but the staff make it a 5 star hotel.
