    « Very Comfortable & Centrally Located »

We stayed here in early May with our dog. Room was exceptionally clean and quite comfortable. Room is a bit smaller than we would have liked and there could be better light, but we were very comfortable. Staff is excellent - very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was quite substantial - eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, biscuits and sausage gravy plus all the standard breakfast items. We especially liked the mini waffle maker that gives you 4 small round waffles instead of one big Belgian waffle (that machine was available too). Great way to start each day.

« Best in Traverse City, MI »

We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The staff are wonderful. Very clean property, very good breakfast, wonderful pool. Close to everything. The manager was so friendly and helpful and wanted our stay to be perfect and it certainly was.

    « Great staff »

Angela and the rest of the staff made sure our rooms were ready early, so we could make our wine shuttle on time. I had also casually mentioned it being my husband's birthday weekend, so when we checked in, they surprised us with wine, birthday card, and chocolates. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others. The hotel is in a quiet location, is clean, and the staff is the best.

    « Helpful staff »

Very kind, professional, polite staff. Nice room. Nice location in a beautiful city. I will return in the future with my wife and family. I will recommend this motel to friends and others who may be working in Traverse City in the future.

    « TC 2018 »

The Best Western Plus Traverse City was a nice location for our weekend stay. Angela, the desk staff, was so helpful and friendly. The breakfast included hot items (eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles ) as well as standard items. The hotel provides a shuttle to the downtown area which was really helpful and the Happy Hour next door at Cambria Suites is must!

    « Birthday Celebration »

A group of us went for a birthday celebration! Angela was great and helped us get into the room early so we could enjoy a day of wine tasting! The hotel also sent a bottle of wine, cake and flowers to the room! Great stay and I would recommend this property! Exceeded my expectations, thank you!

« Traverse City...Great Stay at the Western Plus »

Going to northern Michigan...consider the Western Plus in Traverse City. This hotel is a gem! Every time we stay here our expectations are met with flying colors. From the Front Desk staff and their congeniality and attention to details it is so easy to feel you'll feel like you're at home. As mom always says,

« Reliably clean, neat, and quiet »

Stayed here off-season. No complaints at all from this picky traveler. Quiet room, good linens, clean and spiffy bathroom. Off-season rate could have been less. Attentive staff who made sure our accommodations were satisfactoryn

« A quality Traverse City hotel with a great staff »

I chose this hotel based on other TA reviews, along with the good location close to downtown TC and reasonable price. My stay lived up to expectations, but it was Jian's fantastic & informative customer service and attention to detail that really made my stay exceptional. My room was clean and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and good-sized bathroom for my needs, and having a complimentary parking space within 50ft was a nice amenity as well. I'm keeping this hotel on my favorites list whenever I return to TC for work again.

    « Anniversary trip »

The thing that makes this hotel great is the staff. They are all so friendly and helpful. They provided us with great suggestions from where to eat to which vineyards are their favorites. They even provided us with coupons for several of our activities. The free breakfast that was provided was fantastic. You can tell that the lady that is in charge of that area takes pride in her job. Because we mentioned it was our anniversary they left a very thoughtful gift at our door for us. Made it easier to be away from our babies. We will DEFINITELY be back.

    « Staff is amazing! »

The hotel is a little dark and could use some updating, especially in the hallways and pool area. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. What made this stay was the incredible staff. We encountered severe weather with a major spring snow storm and they were so kind and did everything they could to ensure our safety and comfort. Christy at the front desk went above and beyond to help us make decisions and take care of our needs, we are so appreciative of her (her husband even cleaned the snow from our car because he was concerned about our safety!!). That kind of commitment to the customers is what will keep people coming back to the hotel, even when there are many other options available. I do wish they had a hot tub and as mentioned a little updating or brightening the halls would be wonderful. But A+ for the staff.

« Helpful staff, clean, comfortable bed. Great price at in a convenient location. »

I called the hotel directly, from across the street. The person on the phone was very helpful and took a long time to explain my options. He helped me get to a fair rate. The hotel is located right on the main drag through Traverse City, which makes it close to everything, yet not in the priciest locations. My room was in the back, with made it very quiet. Check-in was quick - AND, they found my Best Western rewards membership, which I didn't even know I had, and saved me an extra $10. The room wasn't huge, but it was set up well and didn't seem too small for anything I needed. The internet, cable, etc. all worked great! It was the rare hotel TV that had the channel guide work on the screen (when will hotels get DVR so I can pause my shows like at home?!) Angela helped me check-out and and a provided a lot of other info. She and the rest of the staff were awesome throughout. If you're reading this, you probably know all TC has to offer. The Best Western is a good option that doesn't have quite the price tag of some other others in the area. It's not on the beach, but it's close enough.

    « Great Stay & Pet Friendly »

The staff was extremely friendly and outgoing. The room was spotless! The mattress was wonderful. The winter room rate was very reasonable. Pet fee was only $15. We were very happy with our stay. This hotel does not have a view of the water, but if you just need a good place to stay this is it. This hotel also offers free shuttles to downtown which is a great perk.

    « Great weekend!! »

Great room. My girls loved having their own space with the loft style room. Everyone was so friendly and the breakfast was awesome. Pool and exercise room is open 24 hours. Definitely will be staying again.

« Warm, Clean and Room for Lucy »

We travel extensively and are always in the company of our English Bulldog Lucy. Many places claiming pet friendly end up being rooms I wouldn't even let my dog stay in. Not here at Best Western. The room was clean and warm. The staff friendly, and the stay perfect. This is not only a people approved stay, but Lucy approved. When we arrived she was ready for a nap, as were we. Thank you Best Western TC for a great stay!

    « Friendly staff »

Just wanted to drop a note and describe what I saw and experienced the night of check in. Walked into a clean and bright office check in area, Jian was right behind me. As we walked up to the desk, a young lady walked up and her key quit working, another couple had questions, phone was ringing and I was waiting to check in. Tough situation right? well Jian was able to quickly get the young lady a working key, answered the phone, and put the person on hold, and immediately answered the couples questions and had me checked in in minutes, and then answered the phone. ALL while making each and every one of his customers feel like they were the most important person in the room. Every one walked away with a smile. After the storm had subsided Jian had even noticed my company logo, which he was familiar with and we had a nice short conversation. Jian in my mind had his customers interest at the top of his list. Nice Job Jian! Wife and I and my four legged friend are planning another visit already.

    « Perfect Weekend Away »

Everything about our stay was top notch. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, made us feel right at home. Pet friendly, which is a huge plus for us. The hotel was well maintained and very clean! We checked out on Easter morning and to our surprise there was a little Easter treat bad hanging from the door which again made us feel right at home over the holiday. When we come back to town we will definitely be staying here again and will recommend to our friends and family!

« Great Hotel - dont pass it up »

Did a ton of research to find this hotel and had points so ended up booking. Pulling up to the hotel, it looks a bit unusual from a standard hotel. Don't be fooled by that, the hotel is definitely worth the stay. Had a queen suite with a lofted bed (the one with the spiral staircase). It was very nice, clean, comfortable and worked well for 3 of us. The climate control is a wall unit and it worked great, plus the fan can be run on continuous mode for those needing extra white noise. Carrie at the front desk was awesome when we arrived. She was super friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome.

    5
« Awesome hotel and very friendly staff!! »

I did a ton of research to try to find the best pet friendly hotel in Traverse City that was reasonably priced. Unlike some of the other so-called ?pet friendly? hotels that I found, the Best Western truly is pet friendly. They allow you to leave your dog in the hotel room when you leave, which was helpful for us when we wanted to go out to dinner or do some quick shopping! The hotel was nicely updated inside!! Continental breakfast was great - waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, bagels and cream cheese, etc. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming of us and our puppy. We will definitely be back!! Thank you Best Western for a great trip up north :)

« Full Sized Bed In A Queen Sized Room »

We ordered a queen sized bed because they didn't have any King room available. We ended up sleeping in a Full sized bed that was incredibly uncomfortable. I won't stay in a Best Western Plus again. Holiday Inn is the same price and way nicer.

« Good Old Fashion Customer Service »

We found this hotel by accident on the web, sure glad we did. The rooms are newly renovated, 24 hour pool, and the customer service makes you feel like you are part of the hotel family. Enjoyed our stay and plan on staying again. Front desk agent Angela and breakfast lady Penny were most friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel when in Traverse City.

« All around great experience »

Amenities are a plus here with a free shuttle to downtown and a free breakfast. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful with anything needed. We've stayed several times now and have no reason not to come back again.

    « Family vacation »

Chose this hotel on a wim while traveling and So happy we did. Extremely satisfied with the room and staff. Amazing breakfast, clean rooms, modern decor and great price. Already planning our next stay!

« Great, quaint hotel, just right for the budget. »

Great staff, perfect location, the property looks a bit older, but it's been redone and is very clean. The staff are the highlight of the visit, from Judy in the kitchen, Cindy on front desk and Blake the shuttle driver. Super awesome experience.

    5
    « Very nice hotel. »

The rooms were very beautiful, clean and characteristic. Is in a good position if you want to visit Traverse City and Is not so far away from Boyne if you want to go to ski. Thanks to Mrs Angela at the reception. She's very kind and professional.

    « Best Hospitality = Best Winterbreak »

Four parents + 2 young adults + 2 teenagers + 2 dogs multiplied by a hotel full of the friendliest staff ever = Great Winterbreak vacation. Haven't experienced a hotel as warm and friendly as our experience at this Best Western beginning with the desk clerk, to the housekeeping, and the breakfast hostess. Greeted with a good morning or is there anything we needed to a genuine interest in making our stay pleasant. Only thing missing was a bar for a night cap. Thank you for a well run establishment and great launch pad for making some family memories.

    5
« Very nice and CLEAN! »

I love a fancy hotel room (who wouldn't), but most of all I want a CLEAN room! The Best Western in TC was very nice and very clean. Would definitely stay again. I'm not sure it is within walking distance to many attractions (we stayed in the winter), but it is centrally located and very convenient for driving. We drove to downtown in a few minutes and passed the beach on the way.

    5
    « Wonderful Stay! »

Had a wonderful room, in fact, we've requested it for our next time in TC already. The staff at this hotel is most accommodating, friendly and professional. Breakfast was more than just the normal continental breakfast most places have, had many choices!

    5
« Great Stay, Great Service »

Very accommodating, great rooms and service. The breakfast was good with lots of options-even almond milk. I had to alter my reservations a few times and all the staff was helpful and extremely friendly. Staff has great area recommendations. Talk to Judy who has great suggestions and keeps the breakfast bar full. I highly recommend this property!

« Great place to stay »

When making our reservation over the phone John was very helpful,he told me about Best Western rewards program and he signed me up. From the moment we arrived front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us a free upgrade to a suite and a bag of goodies. Our room was modern and clean.

    « Quiet Night's Sleep »

Even though this Best Western is located along a busy four lane street the rooms were very quiet, I could not hear a sound from the traffic driving near by. I feel the windows and walls are well insulated.

    5
    « Great value & clean »

Judy in the continental breakfast area treats you like a customer in a fancy restaurant... she goes above her call of duty to make you feel at home and your breakfast meal perfect... I observed her helping a customer make a waffle...she even picked up our dirty dishes for us. Superb we visit again.

    « Nice basic hotel »

Nothing super fancy but not a crappy hotel. Very clean. Mostly updated. Good warm breakfast. Friendly staff. In the heart of traverse city. Had a decent sleep. Free WiFi. Pet friendly. Very easy to find off the Main Street.

« Heading home from snowmobiling the U.P. »

Stopped here on my way home to hit a few wineries. Everything was great from the front desk to the breakfast. It is very close to the Mission Point arm of the Bay which is where I wanted to go. Will return.

    « Memories made... »

We stayed at BW for the holidays. When we woke up Christmas morning there was a beautiful card and handmade goodie bag. We were greeted by Angela at the Front Desk with, "Good Morning and Merry Christmas. I hope you slept well." We got coffee went back to our room and were greeted by Heather and Bianca, wishing us a very Merry Christmas. Later in the afternoon we walked by the front desk and Jon was very nice and making sure we had everything we needed on Christmas day. I can not say enough about the amazing and caring staff at the Best Western Plus in TC. We felt that we were at home. For the staff to spend their holiday with smiles on their faces and away from their families says so much about these special employees. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are far above any I have encountered in my years of traveling. Keep up the awesome work Angela, Heather, Bianca and Jon. We look forward to seeing you soon.

« Best Western Best In Town »

We picked the Best Western in Traverse City, Michigan. We were impressed. The room and bathroom were very spacious and all amenities covered everything we needed. This isn't your grandfather's Best Western.

« Great place to stay »

Clean place to stay. Everyone there were helpful and friendly, very accommodating and pet friendly. Good location, breakfast has a good selection and fresh baked cookies at night, good food at the restaurant next door, will stay there anytime we go back to Traverse City.

    « New Year eve »

We spent 4 days in Traverse City, celebrating the new year. We had a very good time at the hotel (including our small dog). Room was very comfortable and on two stories. Customer service was excellent. Angela was great in satisfying all our requests !!! Thank you !!!

    3
    « Convenient »

It's a good place to stay if you have a pet or a family of 2-4. But if traveling with friends or extended family you have to get more than one room. We were surprised to find out that they had no rollaway beds and the only room with a sofabed was the king bed room. We needed 2 queen beds and either a rollaway bed or sofabed. The rooms are small and dated. But the staff is fantastic, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was like most hotels.

  • 5
    « winter stay »

We stayed again between Christmas and New Years Dec 27 to Dec 30 at the Best Western. We chose this hotel as it allows dogs to stay with you. Again we had a great stay. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Rooms are great, clean and nicely decorated. Great continental breakfast. Lady looking after the breakfast area was very friendly and did a great job.

« Snow Storm Makes for GREAT Experience »

Severe snow storm had us stop in Traverse City unexpectedly. We called late at night to see if there were rooms. I knew as soon as I spoke to the delightful person on the phone this was going to be a special place. We ended up staying an extra day, and the staff was fantastic. They treated us like part of their family to take care of inclement weather. I travel all the time, and there was something special about the hospitality and the service of this team. We will for sure come back.

    5
« Nice hotel, friendly staff »

We stayed two nights there and we are very satisfied. The rooms are nice and clean, the staff is very friendly and professional and we had a very relaxing weekend for New Year. Sincerely recommend this hotel.

« Very good expierce down to the Christmas present hanging on the door in the morning! »

Very good expierce. Room was nice and clean. Loft was excellent. There was even a Christmas present hanging on the door in the morning. Pet friendly and very clean. Will be back for sure!!! The bed is a little hard for my taste but to each their own.

    3
    « Early flight time »

We booked the suite. I stayed here with 2 teenage boys. Luckily I read the reviews beforehand and knew it was noisy and the fridge made a terrible noise. Apparently the room key cannot touch a cell phone because that will deactivate it. It's nice to have a separate space for the kids but the rooms are small. Pool was warm. Work out room was okay. Breakfast was okay. The property is dated. Check in was a pain. The parking lot was icy getting in and out of the vehicle. The room was clean and the sheets were soft.

    5
    « Extremely satisfied »

We cannot say enough good things about the Best Western Traverse City. Everything from check -in to check-out was perfect. The staff is friendly, helpful, caring, and professional. The full breakfast every morning was delicious. Coffee was always available. Cookies were served in the evening. Our room, as the rest of the hotel was VERY clean. We loved, and took advantage of the free shuttle service to the downtown area. We especially like the fact that they are a "pet friendly" hotel. We brought our dog, and the staff adored him. We have stayed here twice within the last six months, and plan on staying at the Best Western every time we're in town.

    5
    « Great Place »

This property is perfect especially if you need to bring a pet. Very clean with a friendly staff. Anything we asked for was at our disposal. We will definitely stay here again. The breakfast was really good and the staff very helpful. Location was good for our needs and the price was good also.

    5
    « I will be back! »

We had a wonderful stay in Traverse City. Friendly, thoughtful staff, very clean room.. Every staff member we encountered said hello, asked us if we needed anything and were around if we did! They learned it was our anniversary and had left us an anniversary card and a bottle of wine in our room!

    5
    « Great Overnight Stay »

We spent the night in Traverse so we could transport my sister home after surgery. This was the best hotel experience we have ever had. The room was arranged very conveniently, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was wonderful!

    « Make this your 1st choice »

The staff here is very friendly and will do everything in their power to make your stay as pleasant as possible. A great breakfast included. Many other restaurants near by. Only a few miles from two casino's as well.

    « Amazing Staff & Service! »

We so appreciated the incredible staff and the clean hotel at this great location. Everyone worked great together and was very helpful and kind. Rooms are nice though the bathrooms needs counter space and the beds and towels could be upgraded a bit. GREAT coffee at the breakfast bar!

« Traverse City long weekend »

Great place. Excellent service by the staff. They were friendly and worked hard to make sure we enjoyed our time in Traverse City. The included breakfast was excellent. The facilities were clean and the room was great. Dog friendly.

    « Great changes »

The last time I was at this particular property was 6 or more years ago - and boy have they improved! The lobby was more spacious and felt more welcoming. The breakfast area was just off of the lobby which is a huge improvement from the maze one used to have to follow to get to it. The halls used to be painted with a tree type of motif and they are now a nice creamy white color - I feel like it gives it a modern upgrade instead of the tacky trees. Though I didn't use them, the 24 hour pool, exercise and laundry is a huge bonus. Internet worked great. Only downside was my bed was a bit on the firm side - but any bed different than my own is expected to not be the most comfortable.

    4
    « Excellent Service »

We booked a suite because we had a ton of reward points through Best Western's rewards program that were due to expire. We would normally take a standard room, but thought, "what the heck, why not?" The suite room is a standard room on the first floor with a loft and spiral staircase. In the loft is a queen bed, a tv, a dresser and a nightstand with a lamp. That's it. Having to get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom is quite tricky if in the loft - the spiral stair case is metal! You could hear every footstep. And the staircase could probably stand to be mopped. The room itself was nice; well decorated, comfy beds, and all the goodies you'd expect in a suite - tv, fridge, microwave. The water closet - yes, that's intentional wording, was TINY. A toilet with a shower unit. The shower was strange. Quite small and only a glass partition between it and the shower. No way to completely close off the whole thing but it didn't get much water on the floor. The in-room coffee was gross. It's the same in most Best Westerns. BUT, the coffee in the lobby was OUTSTANDING. Plus they set out warm chocolate chip cookies at 6 PM! The complimentary breakfast was the standard Best Western one, but the breakfast attendant was so sweet and helpful. The desk staff was great. If they couldn't answer a question, they immediately called someone to try to answer it.

    « One Fantastic Hotel! »

Just returned from a weekend at the Best Western in Traverse City and I have to say the folks there are the best! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, including the front desk folks and housekeeping personnel. Judy, who was managing the breakfast area, couldn't have been any more helpful and efficient! Every time you turned around she was bring you more coffee and making sure there was plenty of food on the buffet. She was a whirlwind in motion! The hotel is extremely pet friendly and this time we took our little dog along with us. They have an outside pet walking area at one end of the hotel that is even equipped with bags for picking up what's left behind. If your travels take you to Traverse City, this is the place to stay... you'll be glad you did!!

« Traverse City in November »

We arrived earlier than 3:00 and were able to check in which was nice. The staff was very friendly. They offered us a choice of rewards for our stay. The lady in the breakfast area was very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

    5
    « Fantastic staff »

We were so impressed with the way the staff treated us. Cristy, Jon, Tracey, and Angela made our stay feel like a home away from home. Then..there was Judy! Her hospitality was above anything we've ever experienced in a hotel or otherwise while traveling! We'll definitely be staying at Best Western Plus on our next visit to Traverse City! Thank you!

    5
    « Friendliest Staff »

The staff is the friendliest that I have ever encountered at a hotel. They went above and beyond to make our stay special even leaving us a birthday surprise and hand written card. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The free continental breakfast was well stocked and offered a good variety. I will definitely stay here again.

    3
« Great location, tired property »

The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size and clean. The property is older and could use an update. The mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable. The sheets were thin, needed to be replaced.

« Great Stay in a Great City »

Great location with easy access to downtown and the winery districts. Very nice staff. The hotel was recently refreshed and the updates are very nice. The front desk staff were terrific and the breakfast host was very helpful with directions.

« A good value and nicely remodeled »

The hotel was completely remodeled two years ago so it is a good value for the pricey Traverse City area. The breakfast is a cut above because the fresh fruit is good and there are lots of goodies to add to the yogurt. The staff is excellent, the rooms are quiet, and the location is good.

« Best Western Plus Traverse City, MI »

This hotel staff was the best! Christy and Angela went out of their way to make our group comfortable and were extremely accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast and breakfast staff were wonderful! I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

    « Very nice Staff & Convenient »

    « Hockey Tournament Weekend »

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The breakfast offered was great. The pool area was also very clean. The pool was larger than we expected, which the kids loved. We would stay here again without hesitation.

« Fall Color Tour Getaway with Sorority Sister »

For the last few years, taking in the extraordinary Fall colors in Michigan and New England has become a highlight of the change of seasons for me. Half the fun is getting there, the other half is staying at welcoming properties with the amenities that suit my requirements...exercise room, breakfast, internet, suite accommodations and an added bonus - shuttle service to restaurants and other downtown points of interest. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Excellent!!!

We spent a weekend at the Best Western Plus to attend a tournament for my son's hockey team. The staff was outstanding and could not have been more polite or accommodating. Christy even baked us an extra batch of cookies! The hotel itself was reasonably priced and conveniently located- just a short drive into downtown Traverse City (or you can take their shuttle). The rooms themselves were spacious and clean. We had a loft room with a spiral staircase. The kids loved having their own private loft, complete with queen-sized bed, TV, and skylight. The bathroom was a bit small, but functional, so not an issue. Our room also had a mini-fridge and a microwave. The pool is on the larger side and is open 24 hours! It ranges in depth from 3 feet to 11 feet. They also have pool toys for the kids to enjoy. We enjoyed the daily continental breakfast which included the usual - cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon / sausage, make your own waffles, pastries, etc. Would definitely stay there again!

    « Excellent experience »

We arrived early (to avoid traffic leaving Chicago) and were given a warm (pet friendly) welcome by Christy. The team was quick to service a room to allow for an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated. The hotel has a real homely atmosphere and welcome. There were a number of nice touches, like the tennis ball and treats in the room for our pet dog, the warm cookies and milk in the evenings, the free shuttle service to/from downtown and a hearty breakfast with a wide variety of options. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel.

    « Our visit on October 17 to 20 »

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The full breakfast was wonderful. Judy was the employee who set up the breakfast each morning. Everything was fresh and delicious. She was constantly out there replacing items that were gone, and cleaning up. She was very kind and friendly to everyone. Made you feel like family. Thank you Judy. Christy at the front desk was very kind and professional. She was even able to extend our stay for us, as we didn't want to leave, and it was a busy week for them. She was able to accommodate us and helped make our stay even nicer. My husband and I were up there for my birthday and wedding anniversary. The pool and pool area was super clean and I enjoyed swimming there each night. Loved the pool. One more shout out to Scott and Brad, who took us downtown each evening. They were very kind and courteous. Their service was very appreciated, as it saved us from having to find parking downtown. We will definitely stay here again. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you again

« Warm cookies before bed too!!! »

A warm hello and it was off for a homey and cozy couple days. Waking up (even in the rainy days) coffee wasn't far and it was all good. Shuttle service offered to take you to the stores or the diners in the areas. Drop off and pick up by kind and courteous folks. I will be back, and if you're smart you will go too.

After a disappointing experience at a nearby "Resort", we were thrilled to find the Best Western Plus had a vacancy. The rooms were very clean, updated, and comfortable. Staff went out of their way to ensure we were greeted whenever in proximity of the main lobby. There were cookies, coffee & tea available in the afternoon and a basic free breakfast fare served in a clean well-attended dining area. The Reflect Bistro is located next door and offered excellent food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on going again.

    « I could live here! »

Our expectations were exceeded. This hotel is very clean and nicely updated. We dealt with Angela at the front desk our entire stay. We found her to be very warm, caring and helpful. She went out of her way to give us lots of information about the hotel and the surrounding area. She gave us a choice of top or bottom floor. The hotel was very quiet. Even though it was booked to capacity Saturday night, we did not hear excessive noise. This hotel serves a hot continental breakfast each morning. Coffee and hot cocoa are available in the lobby 24/7. At 6pm each day they put warm cookies out with it!! They provide a free shuttle to anywhere in T.C. It runs from 5:30 am to Midnight. We took advantage of this exceptional amenity. Our driver was very friendly and courteous. The heated pool is fantastic. It is open 24 hours! They also provide towels in the pool area, so you don't have to take towels out of your room. The pool goes up to 11 foot deep. They also allow you to bring your pets to stay. Our room was very large and featured a king size bed. The bathroom was very modern with a nice size glass shower, no tub. The room had a microwave and mini fridge. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in the area!

« Stay Here When You Visit Traverse City! »

This hotel is a great place to stay. The staff are all exceptional! From the minute you approach the front desk, you will find the staff to be warm and very welcoming. They also proved to be very helpful in making dinner reservations, helping us locate areas in the city and answering our many questions. The hotel is comfortable, clean and well located. However, as mentioned, it is the staff that makes it really a special stay here! Special thanks to the ladies at the front desk and the employee who made sure that the breakfast area was well looked after - she is a real gem!

    « Very Welcoming »

The staff at the front desk, day and night, were extremely friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. The room was huge, clean and appeared almost brand new. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. They also provided a nice and generous breakfast each morning. The lady that works the breakfast area makes sure nothing runs out on the food counter along with clearing tables and always stopping off to a customer or two, to chat. Judy, it was our pleasure that you picked us while we were dining. Folks, this is the happiest lady in the world. We loved talking to her. Great place to stay!!

They had one unique feature that we used, and that was the complimentary rides to town or wherever. The roads were under construction and being able to get a prompt ride there and back was good. Very friendly driver that knew the town well.

    « A Positive Experience »

I have stayed at many Best Western's throughout North America, so I tend to be well acquainted with the brand along with their standards. Below is my list of pros and cons. Pros: The grounds were well maintained Front desk staff were very friendly Our room was extremely clean and organized Plenty of parking available The fridge, microwave and armoire were nice additions to the room Shuttles to and room downtown was very convenient Cons: Compared to many other Best Western's, the bed wasn't overly comfortable While the fridge was much appreciated, it was quite loud throughout the night The layout of the room itself was a little awkward Overall, it was a positive experience and we were satisfied with our choice of this 2-star hotel.

    « Amazing place...please read this review »

My dear husband and I recently traveled to Traverse City and stayed at the Best Western Plus for two nights, Saturday, 09/30/17 & Sunday, 10/01/17. I will refrain from repeating all the wonderful, positive comments and observations about this hotel, all of which were evidenced by me and my husband. However, one final event totally defined our stay, a wonderful stay that would have been nearly ruined if not for one employee, Christy Brown. So, after a relatively nice weekend in this clean, lovely, cozy, comfortable, conveniently located & friendly hotel (with a wonderful breakfast buffet), my husband and I returned home where he realized he was without the key fob for his VW Jetta. Of course, after an extensive search of clothes, luggage, my car and everywhere else on earth, my husband insisted he left his key fob in a dresser or nightstand in our room at the Best Western, Room #209. So, the calls to the Best Western started mid-Monday, 10/02/17 and initially no one seemed overly concerned or enthusiastic to help us, even though we basically begged front desk staff to re-check our room for the keys. We were told "room attendants always thoroughly scope rooms when they clean, so keys left would have been turned in, etc." We were told "we will call you if/when the keys are found, etc." We were given the usual "we're still looking into it but we cannot do so now because the room is occupied and we are busy, etc" each time we called ( a total of about 4 calls). Discouraging. In resignation, my husband and I decided to forget Traverse City and just have a new programmable key made for the car. Well, I nearly cried (literally) when an Ann Arbor dealership told me the cost to purchase and program a new VW key was going to total upwards of $600 because the programming process included towing our car to the Ann Arbor dealership (some 35-40 miles from our home), necessary to program the new blank anti-theft key. Needless to say, my husband and I were frantic because my husband is pretty compulsive with his "final sweep" of hotel rooms prior to each departure...we were totally certain the key fob was in the room. Well, after another sleepless night, I decided to phone the hotel one last time (now it's Wednesday) and I asked to speak with a manager. To my relief, I encountered Christy and her compassionate kindness, who sensed my panic, listened to my story, BELIEVED ME THAT THE KEY FOB WAS IN THE ROOM and took it upon herself to go up to Room #209, reassuring me she would check EACH AND EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY FOR OUR KEYS. And behold...Christy called me back about 10 minutes later and said, "Mrs Fiore, I have the keys." Words cannot describe the relief I felt for my dear husband, who works very very hard and (I'm certain) felt awful about leaving his keys behind. For us $600 is a lot of money. Plus, the time involved towing the car and making trips to and from the dealership were going to be a hardship. I could not (and cannot) thank Christy enough. Today, I feel encouraged knowing folks like Christy Brown still roam this earth. No one else wanted to go the extra distance but Christy did and my husband and I cannot thank her enough, from the bottom of our hearts. I hope the hotel managers, supervisors and all the powers that be (along with Christy's coworkers) know how fortunate they are to have an employee & coworker like Christy. Christy saved us our weekend trip, as well as over $600 and a ton of grief, stress, travel wear 'n tear and weariness. The breakfast staff, most of the front desk staff and most folks we encountered were wonderful. Everyone works very hard to keep this hotel as fantastic as it is. But what can you say about folks like Christy? I always try doing so but I will definitely be paying this forward. And I am forever grateful and thankful for Christy.

    « GREAT STAY!!! »

We enjoyed this hotel very much. It was great. The facility has been remodeled. It is attractive, comfortable, and quiet. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and included eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, biscuits, and pastries (YUM). The best part was the friendliness of the staff. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

This is a very clean hotel to stay at. Our experience with Best Western Plus was a great one. Angela at the desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. The continental breakfast was very good. Judy taking care of us eating and cleaning up after us was very kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good hotel to stay at. You won't be disappointed. Great perk to have a shuttle into town too. Our driver Blake was awesome too!

« Home away from home. »

A coworker and I were brought 518 miles away from home for 6 weeks to help open a new Costco building. The staff at our BW+ went above and beyond to make us feel at home, accommodated any requests we had, and made sure to spoil our greyhound puppy at every chance. Each and every staff member we interacted with was beyond helpful, courteous, and friendly. I also have to commend the house keeping crew, as they were faced with mountains of take out boxes and upon our return we walked into a perfectly clean, neat, and straight room. The highest quality service from top to bottom. I'm gonna miss those folks!

We had another nice stay in TC at the Best Western Plus. The rooms were clean. The hotel was well kept. Breakfast is the usual you find. What makes this hotel stand out is their service staff. From Front Desk to the Breakfast Lady to Housekeeping. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. They are helpful with suggestions and problem solve without hesitation. This trip one of our party left a professional iPad in their room after checking out. Housekeeping found it and reported it to the Front Desk within 20 minutes of our departure. We were able to pick up the iPad prior to leaving town. Kudos to all of the staff for their honesty and quick action!

« VERY helpful desk employee! »

We stayed at the Best Western in Traverse City over Labor Day weekend. My son was getting married, so we had reserved a block of rooms. I wanted to make sure that a friend's room was paid on my credit card and not hers, so I called ahead while enroute to get that in place. The lady at the desk, Angela, was very helpful with making this happen. I actually called her a couple of times on other things, as well. She was very friendly and most accommodating at taking care of my needs. When I reached the hotel and met her personally, I told her that she was one of the most courteous and helpful hotel employees I had ever met, and that I really appreciated this. Our stay there was off to a good start (that continued) in large part due to her. Kudos to Best Western if all your employees are as customer-service oriented as Angela!

« Super cute and ckean »

Dod friendly and people friendly. Cookies at night breakfast in the morning! The rooms have a fridge, coffee maker all we needed. Located on what seems to be the main drag. We requested a first floor room and they were great about fulfilling our request.

    « Nice, clean hotel. »

Either new or recently remodeled. Rooms are clean although there were a few ants in the bathroom. It's pet friendly but really no place for dogs to "go". The road it's on is a bit busy. But a great place. Paid $130 on Priceline for a Sunday night, however, I overheard the front desk person quote $279 for a Friday night in September. That's ridiculous even for traverse city...

    « Great staff »

Stay here twice a year for family visits and love it. Other properties are comparable in cost and amenities but the staff here makes all the difference. Carrie at front desk is always welcoming and friendly even when busy. She never makes you feel you're bothering her. I've stayed here a lot -- she is consistently this way! Other front desk staff are great too. Judy manages the breakfast service and it is great -- she keeps food hot and fresh and plentiful, goes out of her way to make sure you have what you need or want, and still manages to make everyone feel at home and welcome. Staff in general are supportive of each other and help each other -- very refreshing to see.

« Will d be staying here again!!!!!!!! »

We stayed at this location for 3 days and had a wonderful experience! Great price, the room was cozy, clean, and in a great location. The property was well kept and easily accessible. The included breakfast was beyond what we had expected and staff all went above and beyond to be accommodating and welcoming. Christy, Judy, Carrie, Jon, and Angela were all staff who we had the pleasure of interacting with, and they were all very warm and always had smiles on their faces! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Traverse City or the surrounding areas and my family will definitely be staying at this Best Western Plus on our next trip to the area!

    « August 18, 2017 »

The room was way over priced for what the hotel offered. Warm cookies are not worth an extra $150.00 a night when it is not even on grand traverse bay. Front parking area is small but they do accept animals, which wasn't a problem during our stay as all dogs were well under control large and small. They do have a place for the dogs to walk outside and provide bags for owners to pick up after their pets. As far as breakfast, the hotel lacked enough seating when it is raining outside on the patio, which it was when we stayed there. Nice hotel, average room, no microwave, but could make your own coffee. Definitely not worth the price to stay there unless it was Traverse City Cherry Festival week.

    « The Best - Best Western »

My 12-year-old son said it best - "This is the BEST Best Western dad!" The Best Western Plus in Traverse City is a Plus! Sure with every property there are little quirky things that people love to complain about (BTW we have none of these this place was a super clean, great atmosphere, fun place to be!). I had read dozens of reviews about this property before booking and I have to say they were all very accurate, even some of the silly ones. No it is not in downtown, Yes the beds are a little more firm than soft, yes when you look out the window you see a parking lot, fence or apartments, yes people who stay here can bring pets, yes the pool actually has chemicals to keep it clean and safe, yes the paint on the outside is bright and different, yes it was once and older property that has been nicely renovated, and yes the linens have been used at least once and laundered before you sleep on or shower with them. BUT REALLY.......SERIOUSLY, you are not going to make the physical logistics if this place change nor are you going to get a brand new out of the package set of sheets and towels everyday - this is not the White House people! Now for what we as a family with kids (teens) got and also what others accurately wrote about... Without fail every time I entered the lobby Angela at the front desk addressed me by name as if we had known each other a lifetime, when we arrived (a little early the first day) she gave us a little gift bag with some goodies as we were there celebrating our 27th anniversary. she was conversational, informative about the surroundings, pleasant, friendly, warm, and welcoming to the property. Our loft suite which was excellent for our family set up had been cleaned and prepared spotlessly by Vicky, A super friendly and wonderfully accommodating housekeeper. Something about the room: Unlike some other unknowledgeable guest commenters, and since I am a professional kitchen and bathroom remodel contractor I personally loved the single panel glass in the shower which is very vogue and found in high end properties mostly in Europe but also in the States and throughout the world, known for their ease of access and ability to be kept spotless and free of debris that typically gets trapped in shower door tracks or stuck on curtains. We were thrilled to meet Judy who many on Trip Advisor had raved about and certainly lived up to others comments. Judy seems to integrate with everyone in the breakfast room as though she has known them for years. She brings smiles and conversation as well as food, coffee and other items to the table as though you were eating in a full-service restaurant for breakfast. Even clearing your items for you so that you can just sit and talk with each other or the people around you uninterrupted. She added a great dimension of warmth and cohesiveness to the many different people represented in the large breakfast area. Oh and by the way the breakfast was phenomenal even down to the mini waffles topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Oh, and despite how many people ate breakfast, everything was always fresh and full NOT like other complementary breakfasts where once it's gone it's gone. The day we left Christy at the front desk was working and picked up right where Angela left off remembering a conversation that I had had with her the day before and continuing the conversation and also addressing me by name. She also accommodated our late check out request so I could spend an extra hour in the super deep and awesome pool with my family. The staff has been well-trained and brings their own independent uniqueness to the property. If you want to stay at a good place with a great staff stay here you won't be disappointed - they go out of their way for you!

Thank you to everyone. The staff was amazing. We had to leave a day early due to my cat not handling the trip well. Staff was understanding and changed our check out date. We were greeted every time we entered the lobby, asked how our day/evening or night was. Thank you for making our stay less stressful. Breakfast was handled perfectly especially with as busy as the hotel was. Thanks to the ladies who kept everything well stocked. Kudos to everyone on staff we encountered you were all gracious and caring! Thank you!!!

    « Above & Beyond »

The staff including:Angela, Christi & Carrie went above and beyond to accomidate us. We were stranded at the airport due to mechanical issues with a plane. The airport was closing & there was no shuttle or taxi to take us to the hotel. The Hotel sent someone in their personal car to pick us up at the airport and brought us to the hotel. Then they mad sure we had something to eat even calling to see what was still open and serving food. The room was clean and comfortable. The next morning they inquired about how er ere and arranged for a shuttle to take us to the airport. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very accommodating, providing me a tray, chocolate milk & anything else i wanted to take breakfast up to the room. They offered us some of their lunch as we were waiting for the shuttle. the kind and gracious efforts of the staff of this hotel were leaps & bounds above what I have ever experienced at a 5 star resort!

    « A Best Plus stay »

This is an older renovated hotel that is not near the center, but I enjoyed my stay nonetheless. The hotel remodel has modernized it, although the funky exterior colors made me wonder when I first drove up. The staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was hot and filling with the nice addition of two different waffle flavors. If you are in town and don't need to be near the center, consider this nice establishment.

    « Best Stay Ever! »

This was the best stay at a hotel I've had. I mean I've stayed at bigger rooms then the one I did here, but I've never had a more pleasant staff. Every single one from the concierge to the breakfast staff to the housekeeping were wonderful and polite and helpful. The room itself was very well designed, the best designed room I've seen in a hotel before; they were creative with the space they had and made it roomier and look bigger and appealing.

Wonderful place to stay and couldn't find a better staff than they have! Angie checked us in and was so helpful about where to park our motorcycle trailers and anything else we needed. Judy was there and she does the breakfast and cookies, but I think those 2 could run the place. Very knowledgeable about Traverse City and surrounding areas. Judy and her husband used to ride so she gave us some local places to ride and stop to see. Both ladies have excellent customer service and very professional! Carrie suggested, That's A Pizza, for delivery and it was so good!!! Loved the hotel, clean, great breakfast, evening just baked cookies, and other staff members were very friendly too! Judy was there to tell us goodbye the next morning. Highly recommend this hotel !

    « Thank You!!! »

We would like to thank Carrie (Assistant Manager) for finding us a room to accommodate allergies, googling local wineries-to help us locate some before they closed, and overall spectacular customer service. Also, Jian (General Manager) for continuing to serve us as Carrie did the night before, he left a card from the hotel staff congratulating our marriage, wine, and chocolate covered cherries in our room!!! This was such a wonderful surprise to come back to after a very fun day on a wine tour. Not to mention, Judy (breakfast) she never stopped running around with a huge smile on her face, and personally spoke with every guest who was eating breakfast. She brightened our morning! Guests came down a couple minutes after the breakfast time frame, and she made sure they got whatever they needed/wanted. Angela, another woman working at the front desk also helped us with anything we asked! We are happy to report that the staff at this hotel is fantastic and they went above and beyond!!! We hope they are recognized for being positive, caring and dedicated to this hotel. Thank you, Jennifer and Jason Bock

« older updated property very enjoyable »

This hotel is not in the hottest of areas but is very convenient and accessible. This is a probably 1970's building that has been beautifully updated. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and available - the breakfast hostess was great - hospitable, helpful and kind. One unfortunate occurance during our two night stay: a large dog was the wake up call each morning in the hallway with a vaulted ceiling. Rather alarming way to wake up.

    « Family weekend up north :) »

My wife, son, mom, two dogs, and I went up to Traverse City this past weekend and stayed at the fabulous Best Western Plus! It was a treat! A nice hotel such as this allowing dogs is a huge plus for all dog lovers. We had a great stay, the staff was fantastic, the nice front desk people, the lovely breakfast lady, and the Manager and his assistant. We were greeted with smiling faces and friendly service. We had a great two bedroom style room with a loft. The beds were soft and comfy. It was perfect for all of us. You really cant beat the location, just outside the hustle and bustle, but within walking distance to beaches and downtown. They even offered free shuttle rides to and from downtown. You guys definitely exceeded our expectations and we will be visiting soon in the near future. :)

High price for what you receive Staff friendly and usually helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Loved pet friendly accommodations. Would probably stay here again if in Traverse City again during different season. Close to attractions and downtown.

« Great Place to Stay! »

Great location, excellent service, nice comfortable room! Good hot breakfast, liked that the pool was open 24 hours, very clean and nicely updated hotel. We had a loft room, and everyone had plenty of space from each other. We were able to bring our dog!

    « Walked Right Out »

I stopped in at the Best Western Plus in Traverse City, MI after a long day of driving. I entered the lobby and waited at the front desk which seemed like forever. Finally, a skinny, greasy haired guy comes stumbling from down the hall. He appeared as if he was drunk. He stopped and just stared at me, as he leaned against the wall. I swear I was in a scene from Bates Motel!! He freaked me out so bad that I just turned and walked out and found a different place to stay. I called the following day and left a message for the G.M. After talking to another lady about the situation I encountered, she knew exactly who I was speaking of. Why would you have someone like this on the front lines? A friend suggested I place a review on here to make others aware of this man lurking around the hotel! If safety is a concern I recommend not staying here!

« Great Pet Friendly Hotel »

The location of the hotel was wonderful in that everything in Traverse City was accessible. The hotel was quiet and accommodating towards pets. It was very easy to get in and out of the hotel. The room was clean and made good use of space.

« Great Hotel in Traverse City »

The Best Western Plus was a great place for my family of 4 and dog to stay during our visit at Traverse City. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly. We stayed in a double suite and it had plenty of room for all of us. We could park right next to the entrance close to our room and there was a nice area for our dog to walk. The hotel was at at a good location close to downtown. I only wish it would have had an outdoor pool but it had a nice quiet area to sit outside and enjoy the sun and book after a day of sightseeing. I would highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Traverse City.

    « Wonderful Stay »

The employees at this hotel are wonderful. They are thoroughly hospitable, and they were very welcoming and helpful, especially since this was our first time staying in a hotel with our six month old. Angela at the front desk went above and beyond. Also, the rooms are comfortable.

    « Perfectly Fine »

This hotel was perfectly average but a little expensive for the quality. We booked this hotel as we were driving through Traverse City. We probably could have found a better hotel for the price but it was short notice and we just needed a place to sleep. The only problem we had was with the cleanliness. When we checked in there were a few raising on the floor of our room and a bottle of febreeze on the bed that seemed to be missed/left behind by the cleaning staff.

Very polite staff. Would stay here again. Location was great, very close to lake and downtown Traverse City. Got complimentary upgrade which was also great. And always great to get breakfast included.

Our 5 day stay at the Best Western Plus was a very pleasant & comfortable experience. Breakfast was very basic but that could not be said of the staff. Judy, Angela & Carrie were delightful and we enjoyed the caring and professional service they provided.

    « Sandusky to TC »

Our stay here at the Best Western Plus in TC was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This includes Carrie, Christy and the breakfast lady. I can't recall the other staff's name, but they were just as friendly. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was great. We were thrilled that they offered a shuttle to downtown TC. The shuttle driver that we had, Scott, was very helpful. Would recommend it anytime.

    « Great Loft! »

Were referred to this hotel by the staff at the Comfort Inn down the street, which was full. So glad we took their advice and checked it out! What a cool room we got: a two-story loft! So beautiful and relaxing! Never thought I'd find a hotel in my price range that I liked as much as the Comfort Inn, but I've got a new fave! Would definitely book again!

    « Ok Not Great »

As a Best Western rewards member, I opt for BW hotels first if possible. Came to Traverse City for the Cherry Festival parades. Was shocked by the room prices, but realized all were high so booked. When we arrived, our reservation was lost, concerning as all hotels were booked. The staff was polite and did have a room available so no harm done. The room was nothing special, but adequate. While comfortable, the beds were very high! Had my elderly mother been along I'm not sure she would have been able to get in, and certainly would have been a fall risk getting out! The room seemed clean, but when we opened the armoire, the previous guests had left two beach towels drying. We returned them to the desk - again the staff were appropriately embarrassed and apologetic. The pool area was nice, but smaller than appears in the pictures and kind of dark as it is in the lower level of the hotel. No hot tub. On the plus side, the breakfast food was typical BW fare, hot and tasty. The lobby was clean and neat. Angela at the front desk was very nice and did go above and beyond to try to make things right, but for the price, I expected much better.

« Delightful Cherry Festival Weekend. »

I want to give compliments to Angela, the front desk clerk, who helped us set up our reservations and then checked us in upon arrival a few days later. We are platinum rewards members and wanted to use one of our free nights during this trip. She took care of everything for us including the billing for using a free night w/o any hassles to us whatsoever. Thank you, Angela, for doing such a fine job.

    « Fantastic Weekend »

An amazing weekend at the Best Western Plus. Our first visit but not our last. The Front Desk clerk Angela was very welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. We had no idea we were in TC during Cherry Festival. She was so informative, which just added to our great weekend. Our room was spotless all weekend after being serviced by Beanca and Gege. The pool was warm and clean even though many people were using it. The management and owner of this property should be very proud of these ladies as well as the rest of their staff for a spectacular hotel. Oh, and the rewards program...get signed up! Thanks Angela for telling us about it!

    « Awkward & Uncomfortable for Everyone! »

Here goes: booked for 2 nights during Cherry Festival.. prices were insane but we sucked it up bc BW usually are hassle free & a smooth experience... unfortunately this was not. When we got there, there was a debate amongst the workers regarding our 2nd night/checkout & what time we can cancel our res if we decided to leave Traverse City a day early... it was very unprofessional. We finally got to our practically $300.00 a night room & the shower had one 1/2 a glass door which left the other half of shower exposed.... I assume this is supposed to be an aesthetic eye pleaser... which in fact it was not & furthermore the entire bathroom floor got wet from that part of the shower exposed. It also left us feeling cold since the steam escaped easily... and water pressure was meh. Here's the dooozy... we left our room & I made my boyfriend double check our door to make sure it was locked... and he came back acknowledging that it was. We left at 7 pm for the cherry festival and when we got back at 11:30... we came back to a hotel room door that was 3/4 open. Needless to say we were both freaked out. We called the front desk and the two men came up and insisted that we probably left our door open & that these doors had problems closing all the way (real reassuring!!!!). I asked if there were cameras in the hallway so they can check, but he said there were no cameras & that we should call if anything was missing. My boyfriend and I checked the best we could but did not find anything truly awry so we got into bed... Lo and behold, as we were in bed probably 30 minutes later there was a knock at our door. It was one of the front desk workers ( who's shift was over might I add) who came to ask my boyfriend if he wanted to see another door that was "supposedly" left open by someone else staying at the hotel........ now you tell me.... is that weird ? YES!!! Was that professional??? HELL NO! Did my boyfriend and I get even more freaked out by this man who was off his shift coming back to our room after midnight??? Ummmmmmmm YES!!!!! Bottom line is this..... the hotel was meh.... but overall this was the most awkward and uncomfortable experience we've ever felt with hotel workers..... plus that hotel door being open makes me wonder what was going on in our room while we were out .... kind of grosses me out if I think too hard about it.... how bout you?

« Fun on the Fourth at Best Western Plus in Traverse City »

The breakfast was plentiful and Judy served with a smile. The shuttle to and from the hotel on the busy Fourth holiday was an unexpected luxury. The 24 hour pool, the outdoor patio, the friendly staff, and the cookies and coffee at 6pm made the family trip to Traverse City a memorable event at the Best Western Plus!

« Could have been great »

This hotel is easy to find and has a good location. This hotel and our room had lots of great perks like a pull out sofa, two TVs, nice decor, exceptional staff, NICE breakfast and a comfy bed. The layout of the bedroom area was strange due to the shape of the room. It caused us to have to turn the TV on the dresser because of where it was placed. The WiFi did not seem to work all that well. It was spotty at times. The big drawback was the bathroom. The bathroom had a shower without a door which caused water to spray all over the floor which caused us to have to clean the floor every time we used it. Secondly, the only shelving in the shower was a tiny, wire shelf. I couldn't fit much on that shelf at all. The vanity could have had more counter space, too. Decor is important but so is function.

    4
    « Nice Place »

The staff was great, hotel was clean, and the location was good. There was even a shuttle to take you downtown, which was great during Cherry Festival because parking is crazy during this time. We got a room with the spiral stair case, it can be kind of dark, so would recommend a night light so people don't slip and fall at night. The shower was a bit unique, as there was only one panel, was worried the water from the shower would splash out. Overall a good experience and would recommend.

« Great staff and VERY pet friendly »

We stayed here several nights and all staff members went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We stayed in the room with the loft and it made it feel much larger. Took our pets and it was a very pet friendly hotel

    « Awesome! »

We were just there for our first Cherry Festival. We stopped before check in time to get information about the Festival. The staff was so helpful, giving us maps, info and telling us about the motel's free shuttle service to avoid traffic and parking downtown. We received a call shortly after checking in to see if the room was okay, all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dan even went out of his way to put our FreezPak in their freezer for our trip home. The breakfast had a good variety of choices and the shuttle service and drivers were great during this busy time. We will definitely stay there again!

    3
    « Wonderful staff! »

We loved our best western plus visit. Staff was wonderful. The breakfast was ok (generic eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, coffee). They never ran out of food. My kids enjoyed the pool. The beds were comfy. I'd recommend a more robust breakfast and wifi was spotty.

    5
    « Great hotel »

This was the best accommodations we experienced on our ten day vacation. Staff were excellent. We gave the hotel our "best breakfast" and "best shower" awards. Free shuttle will take you anywhere around Traverse City and will pick you when you are ready to return to the hotel. We stayed in a BW Hotel in Richmond, Kentucky on our way home, largely due to the experience we had at this BW Hotel.

    « Great stay »

My brother, sister, and I stayed for 3 nights while visiting Traverse City. The price was reasonable especially for everything that is included. Room was comfortable and updated nicely. We enjoyed a lot of the amenities like breakfast, workout facility, and the pool. The most impressive aspect was the friendliness of every staff person we encountered. Everyone was helpful and very pleasant to interact with. We would definitely come back in the future!

    4
    « Great »

This hotel is in great condition with friendly staff. I stayed in a loft room so I could stay with my elderly parents but have my own area to sleep in the loft. Breakfast was average. Would stay there again

    5
    « A very nice property »

I am a former hotel owner so can be more critical than most folks. This hotel, as reflected in the quality of the staff and of the property, is obviously owned by someone who has pride in his/her hotel.

    4
    « Clean and reasonable »

We got a suite with a spiral staircase, which was unique and cool for the kids. Wasn't any privacy though as it's a loft room upstairs. The room was clean, pool was clean. They do offer free breakfast but I didn't check it out so I can't speak as to the quality. Only complaint was all of the dogs barking in the morning! This is a pet friendly hotel and not soundproofed! You can hear everything in your neighbors rooms.

    5
    « Amazing facilities »

The 24 hour pool is surrounded by pebble finish, so there is much less worry about the kids slipping, great touch. There are fresh baked cookies in the evening, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The loft room was perfect for a little bit of privacy while the kids slept downstairs. They even accommodated our dog, which was an amazing benefit.

« Only hotel for me! »

Whenever I stay in Traverse City, I'll only stay here. I would change my plans if there was ever a time I couldn't stay here. The staff are great. The renovations are outstanding! And the BW rewards the best.

« Lovely amenities and great breakfast »

This hotel feels recently renovated and is colorful and very clean. Pretty tiled walk-in shower. Breakfast was excellent...biscuits and gravy, sausage links, scrambled eggs, cereals hot and cold, pastries and muffins, juices, cookies and milk at 4pm. Microwave and small fridge. A happy find!

    « Very Nice »

To see this hotel from the outside, you would not be impressed. The colours are yellow and pink. Inside it is a different story. Very wide halls, attractive lobby and nicely appointed rooms. We had a king suite with a spiral staircase that led to a second bed with large tv. Everything worked well and there were electrical plugs everywhere. breakfast had a good selection. We were impressed with the two girls at the front desk. Very polite and willing to look after every concern. We would stay here again if we return to Traverse City.

    5
« Great time in Traverse City »

We had a terrific time in Traverse City. The staff at the BW hotel were helpful and informative. This hotel gave us easy access to Sleeping bear national lakeshore park. We also visited the Commons including the botanical garden. Great places to eat and drink. Microbreweries and Wineries are great for tastings. We had so much fun we can hardly wait to come back.

    5
« Great Place to Stay »

The Best Western in Traverse City is a top place to stay when in this fun city. With clean rooms and the accommodating staff makes your stay here very comfortable, adding to this the pool and workout area gives you wide options for a relaxing stay.

    « Great TVC hotel »

Clean rooms and quiet upstairs room. Downstairs room by hallway to lobby is noisy in the am with people heading to breakfast. If you want to sleep in select a room away from the lobby area. I thought the hotel was a bit pricy but we booked at the last minute. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice and helpful staff. Central location in TVC close to airport, bay and downtown.

« Great stay by the Great Lakes »

We rolled into town not knowing what to expect from either Traverse City or Best Western--this was our first time visiting either. Thrilled to say it was a wonderful experience. From our first step in, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The kids LOVED the loft room (which was great, since that was what had made me book this hotel in the first place.) Was shocked to hear they offered fresh-baked cookies each evening (don't tell the kids! We missed them while having too much fun at Sleeping Bear Dunes N.L.). I was even more shocked when, the next morning after our midnight return, after asking how I was doing, kind breakfast Judy offered to make a new pan of eggs and EXTEND BREAKFAST HOURS for my late-sleeping spouse and kids. WOW. Just as impressive, Judy proved an avid fan of starry nights and the aurora borealis, providing me great intel on the area and future stargazing spots. Front desk clerk Angela was kindly accommodating to my aforementioned sleep-deprived family as we (slowly, very slowly) made our way out of her hotel. Bottom line, my 12-year-old daughter's reaction to the room, which turned out to be apropos for the whole experience: "Mom, can we stay at Best Westerns from now on?"

    « Family Vacation »

    « Great Visit »

From the moment we checked in, to when we left, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Christy checked us in and was very helpful with letting us know about their shuttle, plus gave us a map and showed us where different things were. The room was very clean and welcoming. We did use the shuttle, and the drivers were also very friendly. We would definitely return to this hotel.

    « Very Cool Room »

In town for a wedding. Layout was perfect for sharing with my parents. I was able to stay upstairs in the loft and my parents stayed downstairs. Having a microwave and fridge for meals was great, as we were very busy with wedding events. This hotel is also pet friendly, which was very convenient, as we have 2 small dogs. The staff was excellent and friendly. There is a full breakfast every morning and cookies and milk every evening included. It was a little too warm up in the loft and the lighting was not good for putting on makeup, but having my own space was very convenient. I would definitely suggest another AC unit for the loft area.

« Friendly staff, convenient location »

The staff was great - all very friendly! I'm a fan of "breakfast included" and this was no exception - the mini waffle maker was a particularly favorite. The suite was... interesting; wasn't expecting a spiral staircase up to a loft. We were there before the season officially started - suspect that parking lot can be a bit awkward to navigate when more people are staying there (apparently there's more parking that they share with the Cambria Inns - might be an easier in/out if the lot is full).

    5
    « Amazing »

Cozy room, comfy bed, breakfast was delicious and the staff was absolutely phenomenal!!! They all were sooo friendly and helpful to travelers offering advise and maps on where to go visit. I mentioned we were up for my fiancée birthday and they surprised us with a little gift on our desk after the room was cleaned! Angela got 10 gold stars for that one!!! I would most definitely recommend staying here and I'll certainly be staying here again next time I'm up for a visit!

« A quiet, comfy room, very clean, good value, convenient location - love the king suite! »

My husband and I stayed here just prior to Memorial Day weekend. For a small premium vs. a regular room, we had a king suite, with more space, an extra TV and a quieter room. The suites are on the second floor, so instead of facing a long hallway full of rooms, we had a more private space. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, with a few hot options, plus cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastries and fruit. The hotel has an exercise room and pool, too, on the lower level. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I couldn't see how to lower the heat, so we opened a window in our room. Extras include USA Today delivered to your door each morning, and fresh baked cookies in the lobby every evening. A great place for the price - I recommend it.

    « Great staff »

My sister was at pavilions Nursing Home and I stayed here while visiting her once or twice a month since Feb. I cant say enough GREAT things about your staff. They always have a smile and will carry on a conversation with you. You can sure tell its not JUST a job to them. The rooms I have been in are very clean and you couldn't want for anything more. Even the ladies in the dining area are GREAT. Knowing how hard it was for me there each time they made it easier. I will always choose Best Western. Please thank the staff....

    « Fantastic! »

We took a road trip to Traverse City for hubby's birthday, so he could visit relatives in Leland. Even though we arrived early, they were able to get us into a room quickly. When Jian, the manager, heard that it was a birthday, he surprised him with a bottle of wine! So, great customer service, large, clean, comfortable room, plenty of choices for breakfast, mean we will be back for other road trips. Kudos to the staff!

« Good Hotel, Great Staff! »

Rarely do I write reviews, but our experience warranted one. At first, it was tough to find a hotel that was truly pet friendly in Traverse City, MI. Some say they are "pet friendly" but do not allow you to leave them unattended in their crate during your stay (which is tough anytime you want to grab a quick bite to eat). Best Western was not only pet friendly during our stay, but the staff couldn't have been more welcoming to us and our dog, which gave us a peace of mind. They even posted a photo of him on their Facebook account because he was so well received! I travel very frequently for work and have become critical of hotels. I've never stayed at a Best Western and I was somewhat skeptical. However, the hotel was newly updated and I was surprised by the décor and amenities. We stayed on the first floor, king size bed and the room was nice and spacious. The gym was not big, but the equipment was updated. The free breakfast bar was good and the head cook was very gracious. To summarize the hotel, it's a great value. It's priced as a discount hotel, but exceeded the discount standards. The biggest difference was the staff. Any hotel & restaurateur will tell you how important customer service is, and this is why. Anyone who has a pet and needs a hotel to stay in Traverse, this is your place. My fiancée and I want to personally thank the staff for being so friendly to us and our pet, going above and beyond. Keep up the good work! P.S. There's a park across the street from the hotel with a mile long walking path - perfect for dogs!

    « Like New »

Recently remodeled, it's like staying in a brand new hotel. We had a king suite over the office and right along the main road and never heard any noise all night. Very quiet, spacious, and clean throughout. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a great walk-in shower, both rooms in the suite had a flat screen TV, and there was room for a family of five to sit. The breakfast was the usual hotel fare, but was well presented and there was plenty of seating. The staff at check-in was excellent and very helpful. It is a great spot for visiting downtown Traverse City ( a free shuttle is available), and is also a great starting place for a tour of Old Mission peninsula. The price in May is extremely reasonable and is a good time to view the cherry blossoms. Highly recommended.

« Great location, even better employees! »

We traveled with our 80 pound fur-baby to Traverse City, and we could not have picked a better hotel. Every person that worked there was committed to making sure that both my husband and I, AND our dog had a fantastic stay! And the location is ideal for exploring the entire area. The only issue we did have is that we booked a King Suite, but received a call that none of the King Suites are dog friendly. They moved us to a 2-queen suite. This room was great for a family, but having a metal, spiral staircase in your room with a dog is not the best idea. We made due. Overall - highly recommend. The hotel is updated, the coffee in the lobby is actually good, and the staff is top notch.

    5
    « Great customer service »

We checked in and found out that Priceline had somehow booked us a single king room for our family of 6. Dan was amazing and quickly got us set up in a double queen room. He even personally delivered a pack-and-play for our little one. Couldn't have asked for better service. As for the hotel, very good quality for the price. Milk and cookies for the kids in the evening and free shuttle into downtown area. The pool area is clean and nice. My boys loved it.

« Staff Go Above and Beyond »

This was our second stay at this hotel. It was recently remodeled and is well maintained. We tried the 2 queen loft which provided plenty of space. The breakfast is above average and the attendant is efficient and friendly. Front desk staff are very good. They provided whatever information we needed. Most importantly they went above and beyond assisting others. We observed staff taking time to kindly acknowledge children, assisting someone with special needs as well as an older couple heading off on a long road trip. This type of service will bring us back time after time. I should also mention this hotel is very pet friendly.

« Quiet haven for trying times »

Quiet & comfortable. Made reservations directly, & spoke w/ Christy.. when she heard we were coming in for a family memorial, she gave us a discount for a larger room. Angela checked us out & they were both so friendly, warm & comforting by their demeanor & conversation. When i inquired about hot water for my thermos, Judy quickly offered to fill it up for me. We will stay again, when next we come.

I stayed for an extended period from March 13, 2017 through April 13, 2017. My room was very clean upon arrival. Checked in on a Saturday night. Only planned on one night. Room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was terrific. Booked additional night, they forgot to clean, but provided fresh towels and an apology right away. It wasn't really inconvenient as we had only been there one night. It is convenient to town and all area attractions. Would stay again.

    « Terrible Tiny Room »

The room was as if someone got the bright idea of converting the utility closet into a "guest room." Thought we had booked a double queen, but the tiny room contained 1 very uncomfortable bed with an extremely thin, worn blanket and a coverlet. Even with cranking the noisy heater, we were still cold. The foot of the bed was so close to the wall where the TV was mounted that we kept clipping our shoulders as we passed by. The curtains were closed for a good reason. The view was of a privacy fence about 3 ft from the window adding to the claustrophobic vibe. The room had a pseudo armoire instead of a closet, but in order to hang clothes up, you had to remove the suitcase rack and ironing board. The bathroom vanity continued the "tiny room" theme. The placement of the shower head was too low for my 6' tall husband. He had to tilt the head forward in order to get wet causing water to spray all over the floor. The desk clerk was ill informed regarding the rooms. She told my husband that the room had down pillows and comforter and they did not have alternative choices. Would not allow a refund due to my feather allergy. Went out and purchased pillows only to discover the room's pillows were fiber filled and had no comforter at all! This hotel did have one bright spot and that was the breakfast attendant who I believe was named Trudy? She was a breath of fresh air after a night locked in a closet.

« Nice hotel, great staff »

Our recent 1-night stay here was perfect. A clean, affordable room. Nothing fancy, but that's not what we wanted. We wanted something close to town, not out near the casino. And also something near Mission Bay peninsula, for some scenic drives. This location was perfect, basically at the entrance to the peninsula, and maybe 5 minutes from downtown. The hot breakfast was more than expected, and every staff member we encountered couldn't have been nicer. This is a well-run hotel.

    « Excellent staff »

Helped me out in many ways , would definitely recommend them as a go to place to stay when in town. The family I booked the room for enjoyed the property. Once again thank you to every one and Antonia and the desk staff

    « Beautiful cozy pet-friendly hotel »

This newly-renovated hotel is perfect for anyone traveling with pets. The cost was reasonable, and the facilities are beautiful. From the sunny lobby area to the clean rooms to the attentive staff, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Loved the free shuttle service - while the others in my party stayed in, I went downtown shopping!

    « Nicely remodeled »

We stayed here for the annual FIRST Robotics competition. The hotel has been remodeled since the last time we stayed here. The rooms are very nicely done. The have a bureau near the door with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and hanging closet. There is a small desk with an office style chair plus an arm chair. There is also a dresser. The TV is large and wall mounted but it intrudes into the aisle at the foot of the bed. A nice touch is the power strip on the desk and one of the nightstands which include USB charging ports. The bathroom has a nice modern shower but no tub. There is a pool which I didn't use. They also have a nice hot breakfast in the morning. I like the hotel and will stay here again next year.

    « GREAT place!!! »

We stayed at Best Western Plus for one night....we checked in on a cold/dreary/rainy day. Antonia and Christy welcomed us with so much sunshine, the outside didn't matter! They offered us fresh baked cookies, told us how to get to where we needed and also told us of the great restaurants in the area. The room was clean and the bathroom impeccable!!!! The next day was equally dismal and yet our hosts were happy and warm. Judy took great care of us at the breakfast!!! We will go back there for a much longer visit for sure!!! Thank you!!!

    « Nicely pet friendly! »

The facility was very clean and quiet. Although the room was on the small side, there was enough room to set up ours dog, Sophie's crate/bed so she was comfortable. The desk staff graciously dog-sat after we checked out so we could enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and Sophie didn't have to wait for us in a cold car. Breakfast nicely done. Staff very friendly. Great off-season price for Traverse City.

    « Great Place »

This is my second stay at this hotel and the service has been exemplary! This stay i am traveling with a friend so we reserved a suite. The room has a private loft so that we both have our own seperate and private sleeping areas. I also brought my elderly dog along and the staff has been nothing but friendly and sweet to her. The room is clean and spacious and comes with a microwave and mini fridge. It is also very conveniently located, just down the road from the downtown shops, and very close to the old mission penninsula where all the winerys are.

    « Convenient »

First the good: in addition to the listed amenities, this is a very clean hotel and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good, and the eating area is clean. Shuttle service is friendly and prompt. The hotel is dated and not convenient to downtown. The interior is classic Best Western: large, open area and any noise echoes endlessly. Room prices on the weekend are standard for Traverse City - designed to separate one from one's money. A general comment for visiting Traverse City. Weekends are always crowded, prices for a hotel room on the weekend are outrageous for the northern Michigan area and parking is a problem - bring pocket change for the meters. This city is designed to clean tourists pockets. However, it is a foody paradise and colors in the fall are fantastic. Make sure to visit the local parks and lighthouses. Go during the off season, during the week (after Labor Day, but before ski season) and look for the "off Main Street" diners and shops.

    « Wonderful Stay! »

What a wonderful hotel! We were thankful for the hard-working staff and the upgrade we received, without charge. The pool was clean, and warm enough for a swim. Breakfast provided for a great family atmosphere. The front desk staff member was even willing to give several tips on where to go to enjoy family activities in Traverse City. Would 100% recommend!

    « Just great. »

We stayed three nights. The hotel is freshly remodeled, clean and well maintained. Very good breakfast, including eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, waffles and really good coffee. The room was nice sized, and we liked having a small refrige and microwave in our room, and a very comfortable bed. It was a slow weekend so the hotel was quiet. One night we awoke to people talking ( in normal tone of voice) in the hallway at 2:00 am. I would suspect it could be very noisy during peak season, or full house, esp. if kids ( or adults) were being loud. This hotel has everything you need : laundry, pool, computer and printer, work out room. Only thing to improve upon - we needed more room to put toiletries in the bathroom. Hardly worth mentioning because otherwise everything was so nice. Definitely recommend.

    « Great stay!! »

We can't say enough good about the hotel, staff, and everything about this hotel. We so appreciate their accommodating our pets. The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast was very good. The staff was so helpful and accommodating.

« Good place to stay »

Very clean. Friendly staff. Well located. Room was small. Breakfast relatively limited but tasty. After 3 days we were looking for something else to eat. Most traditional breakfast items available. Weekday prices are a bargain, especially for this resort town.

    « Weekend Getaway »

Comfortable hotel. Nothing fancy but updated, clean, polite staff, good breakfast, and nice location. Disappointed beds were not made and bathrooms were not clean after our first nights stay but I guess that is conservation effort. Maybe we should have requested service.

« Very Clean and Updated »

Hotel is very clean and clearly recently updated. Rooms were very nice. The choices at breakfast were good but I would avoid the "cooked" food. The eggs did not seem to be real eggs and the sausage was precooked. All of the items were well stocked and tended to. We found the 3/4 glass panel in the shower a bit odd. Much more sanitary option then a shower curtain but a full glass door would have been better. Also, the pillows in the rooms are very small. About half the normal size. I am not sure what that is about. Hotel staff we very friendly and great location. We would definitely stay again.

« Best Western Plus Four Seasons, Traverse City, MI »

Very helpful staff, attentive to meeing a guest's satisfaction. Rooms are spacious, updated, and clean. Wonderful in room shower and great indoor pool. Easy access off main highway and close parking for entry to guest hotel rooms.

    5
    « Excellent Accomodation »

Best Western Plus Four Seasons has fairly recently been remodeled, updated, redecorated. It looks and smells like a new hotel. The whole place is sparkling clean, bright, and inviting. Extremely friendly, accommodating front desk crew, friendly, helpful housekeeping staff, and the breakfast hostesses were exceptional. Breakfast nothing fancy or different from most hotel offerings, but maybe a few more selections. 24/7 hot WONDERFUL coffee in lobby with cookies in the early evening.. Comfy bed, excellent walk-in shower with 3/4 length glass panel rather than a shower curtain. Rates were a little higher than we are used to, but is was worth the splurge.

    « Great family stay... »

This was a great room for our family's visit to Traverse City. The hotel is dog friendly and this allowed us to bring our Mulligan! The loft room allowed our kids some privacy and we all enjoyed the extra space. Very clean, comfortable, and in a nice location. Breakfast was nice and a great staff. I'd visit again!

    4
    « Nice stopover »

We stayed in the King suite, well worth the $20 extra for the night. Lots of room, separate couch/desk area from the bedroom. Place was spanking clean, and free breakfast was very good, hot eggs, pancakes, waffles, yogurt and fruit. Would stay here again.

    4
« Comfortable beds and room »

We were traveling with our dogs and this hotel is dog friendly (there is a $15 fee). We had a room with a queen sized bedroom plus a loft which also had a queen sized bed and tv. There was also a small dorm size fridge, coffee maker and microwave. There's a area to walk the dog dogs. Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast also.

    5
    « Very nice hotel »

We stayed two nights. Phone call from front desk to our room after check in to make sure everything was okay was a nice touch. Nice sized room with king bed. Clean. Nice breakfast. Staff very nice. Would stay again.

    « Rooms really small »

Just wonder why it is "plus"? The rooms are very small, even a very small bathroom cabinet. No place to put suitcases but the floor. Nice size tv .The décor is brand new and the beds really nice, but really small rooms. Glad BW takes old places and renovates them . Has more charm.

    3
« Chain hotel but smaller than average rooms »

This is a typical Best Western property (clean with nice décor) but had a few faults that keep it from getting a good rating from me. As a Best Western Platinum Rewards member I stay in Best Western hotels pretty often. The room I had (# 120) was the smallest room I have ever encountered at a Best Western. Although it only had one queen size bed the space was really limited. When walking from the desk to the bathroom you had to walk around the end of the bed and angle your body over the bed to avoid your shoulder hitting the wall mounted TV. My friend had a king room (# 125) which was also pretty small. I stayed at 3 Best Westerns on this trip and this property was far and away the most expensive of the three. Nice trees on the property but the best part of the stay was the staff who were friendly and helpful. I can't really recommend this hotel since there are a lot of hotels in Traverse City some with lakefront rooms. I would look around for an alternative in the future.

    « Totally renovated »

This is now a very beautiful place to stay. So clean and nice renovated makes the place very comfortable. Location is excellent. Staff is wonderful and very helpful when it comes to giving directions.

« Three block walk to the lake (bay) but 2 mile walk into town »

The hotel is located about four blocks from the bay and has recently been remodeled. We stayed here four years ago and it is very nice today. The pool is below street grade and a good 11 ft. at one end, but no hot tub. Rooms are nice and very well appointed. The breakfast was just off the reception desk and rather cozy (overall a very nice place). Oh, and they had freshly made chocolate chip cookies in the evening! Giving this place a 3.5 hinge rating (scale 1-5). The only drawback is there is an external walkway to the pool / reception / breakfast (would be an issue in the winter). We walked into town (about 4.5 miles around trip) and found the main street shops very nice, and entertaining. Took the hotel free shuttle to the Elks and had one fantastic meal.

    « Compliments to All »

Haven't travelled much as of late. My best friend and I are both seniors and wanted above all a clean place to stay. We just can't say enough about the super clean room. The breakfast was so wonderful and so much. The staff, starting from the desk personnel, the housekeeping and the kitchen staff were all so friendly and very efficient. Everywhere from room to lobby to elevators were very, very clean. Great experience. Staff wonderful.

« Decent place to stay »

We stayed in a king room. The room was OK, but a bit lacking as far a natural light. Just a single small window that looked out at a fence. But we weren't there to sit in our room, so not a big problem. The room seemed quiet enough and we were able to sleep OK. The rates were reasonable for the area. The location was not on the water, but was at the base of the Old Mission Peninsula where we were headed to visit wineries there. Breakfast was decent.

    4
    « Nice and clean »

Got what expect. Even on main highway, quiet but maybe because of being weekend. Nice to have first floor room with interior entry. Request for wine bottle opener graciously accommodated. Not very large sink area.

« 5 nights in Delightful Traverse City Michigan »

This Best Western Hotel was delightful to stay in, breakfast nutritious and ample, giving us plenty of fuel to go about our days activities of hiking and swimming in Lake Michigan. The staff was kind, helpful and useful in our planning and with our desires, from the front desk to the breakfast assistance, they were great! There is easy access by car to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Shore park, as well as many state parks to hike around. Local restaurants were decent, and some even high end, but that isn't our style. Walks along the Traverse City lakeshore area were beautiful, and the nearby Mission Peninsula provided opportunities to view the sunsets, with lookouts and the light house point less than 30 minutes away. We thought that this was a good value for the money, and close to the locations we wanted to see and the walks we wanted to do.

    4
    « Nice quiet hotel »

We were pleasantly surprised. Nice friendly staff, good big rooms. We asked where to get dinner. They said Cambria suites next door had a new chef. Walked over - food was great. Glad for the recommendation They have a shuttle for downtown. Two miles away. Would recommend this hotel if in the area

    4
    « Clean & Friendly place »

A very clean and fairly reasonably priced Inn. We were in the area for a family reunion. The place we had stayed at last year had increased their price $140. We save over $100 each night. Would stay there again.

    « Excellent Experience »

Very friendly staff, great variety of hot breakfast options, 24 hour heated, clean, pool, clean and updated rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable bed. No complaints! Within a couple minutes from downtown Traverse City makes it very convenient.

    « Lovely Accomodations »

We had a beautiful suite on the second floor. Staff was extremely attentive. Chocolate cookies at 3pm each day! Rooms were remarkably decorated with flat screen tv's and updated "cool" furniture! Loved the accent pillows! Rooms were large and suites were nice with the separate rooms.

    « Weekend away »

Went as a casual weekend retreat with my husband, clean rooms. Decent location, no views. But the drive up in the fall, great for the colors. Skip the hotel breakfast, great breakfast at the diner across the street. Good shopping nearby, and visit the shore and casino in the area. Hotel is average, expect a little more for the price.

    5
    « Always a first class stay. »

We enjoy the cleanliness, complimentary breakfast, and friendly service. Two employees that always stand out work at the front desk-Christy and Angela. Both ladies are very hospitable and accommodating.

« Decent for the price »

I was happy to see this remodeled hotel had a decent price for August in Traverse City. Rooms were clean. Bathroom had been remodeled, but there was mold in the shower which could easily have been bleached out making it feel/look much cleaner. Disappointed management let this type of cleaning be allowed.

    5
    « Spontaneous Road Trip »

We booked a room last minute and were pleasantly surprised! The price was reasonable and the hotel was beautiful! Super clean, friendly staff, and recently renovated! Our room was much larger than expected (corner room). Breakfast was very well maintained and tasted pretty good! Despite being really busy, the staff kept it clean and full! It went until 10 which was nice as some end earlier. We will stay again.

    5
    « Great night »

We had a great night here. Clean, comfortable, they provided a loft room for the second queen bed for a bit of added privacy. Desk very helpful with directions to see the sights. Great enjoyed. Location is convenient to restaurants and shops

« Great place to stay in Traverse City »

The BW, Four Seasons in Traverse City is a wonderful motel. Services and amenities are super, pool, exercise room, laundry, breakfast, and Wi-Fi. So close to the lake and downtown, and fine eating if you enjoy that. We will visit again!

    « Don't hesitate......Wonderful Hotel!!!!! »

We loved our stay here, the room was extremely clean. The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. Free cookies by the front desk were so good. Pool area amazing. We will definitely be staying here again!!!

    « Highly recommend - great service »

Was displaced due to a flood at my condo, and with this being the busy time of year in TC I needed to find an affordable room that accepted animals - I have two Labs. The front desk was fantastic and the room was spotless, they put me right next to a door for convenience. Never had any issues. I'd stay here again no doubt.

« Superior Service at Best Western Plus Four Seasons!! »

My family and I stayed at Best Western Plus Four Seasons, and checked in at 3:00 pm. The check in with Dan and Carrie was incredibly smooth, and I found the entire staff to be welcoming, knowledgeable and pleasant! The reason for my trip to Traverse City is simple... I was celebrating my 60th birthday the day I checked in! Traverse City is one of the most beautiful places in Michigan, so I selected it for my birthday destination! I happened to mention my birthday to the staff during my check-in and was given an enthusiastic " Happy Birthday!" It brought a smile to my face!!! How nice and caring, and such a fun way to check in!!! Once we went to our room, I received a courtesy call from the front desk, asking if the room was up to my standards, and if anything was needed. I said, "The room is just fine!!!" I jokingly told Dan... "I was hoping there would be a birthday cake waiting, but that's ok, because you told me that fresh cookies would be baking later on! We both had a great laugh!!! Less than an hour later I received a knock on my door. Two friendly voices said, "Front Desk!" When the door was opened, Dan and Carrie said, "Happy Birthday!", and presented me with delicious chocolate fudge cake, on a white plate, complete with chocolate ganache, a white chocolate swirl AND a birthday candle!!! They even brought extra plates so that my family could share!!! This was the highlight of my day!! What a beautiful gesture of respect and appreciation for a guest! Yes, indeed, the staff of the Traverse City Best Western are deserving of the highest customer service rating!! The facilities were immaculate and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was amazing!! When I checked out, a very nice lady from housekeeping said, and a man from maintenance both said "Happy Birthday!!" It was clear to me that Dan, Carrie and the entire staff, are in this profession, because they enjoy providing quality service that goes above and beyond the industry average! I give The Traverse City Best Western Plus Four Seasons, the highest rating...EXCELLENT!!!!!! I'll will most definitely be back!

« Excellent Value, Great Service »

I wasn't sure about staying here as I hadn't done my research, but once we checked in I realized we made the right choice. The room was great. The atmosphere was great. The price was very good. The staff was excellent. This is a great place to create your "base camp" for a Traverse City vacation. I think they have a pool for your enjoyment as well as some other highlights, but this isn't where you want to spend your time in Traverse City. You want to go out and enjoy the area. So even though the hotel is great, it isn't a "resort", but you won't be disappointed.

« Best Hotel Room Ever! »

We LOVED the loft "bedroom" for our daughter, although it did tend to get a bit warmer up there. Staff was very friendly and hotel and rooms were clean. We even got delicious cookies at the front desk each evening (which is more than I can say for our recent stay at another popular--and more expensive--chain, which is supposed to be known for their cookies!). Great hotel and great value!

    5
    « Love staying here »

My grandson and I spent a week there this July. The staff could not have been nicer. It was very clean and efficiently run. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The pool was warm enough so it was comfortable for swimming, and they even had some toys to play with. They have fresh coffee in the lobby 24/7- a nice touch. The morning breakfast included the make-your-own waffle maker, so my grandson was happy with eating there. The location is close enough to get to many attractions, but not in the middle of the downtown craziness. I was told they have a shuttle service (but we didn't need it). I have stayed in many hotels over the years, so I have enough experiences to compare it to, and it ranks up there with some of the best. It is not a luxury hotel, but the people that work there, and the attention to the facility makes it a great choice for the Traverse area.

    « Loved it! »

This place blew my family and I away! The staff was very professional and friendly in every interaction I had with them, really top notch. The breakfast was plentiful and very high quality, the whole family enjoyed everything we had. The hotel itself is very well appointed and designed in a very sensible way. No long walks from your car to room, very convenient. As great as all the above was, where this place really shined was the room layout. Traveling with two small children it's a convenience bordering on 'opulent luxury' to have a single hotel room with separate sleeping spaces. In this case, our room had a upstairs loft (for the kids) and and downstairs room for my wife and I. After having stayed the night previous in another hotel with a more traditional layout, I can attest the 'loft' configuration is vastly superior; I'll never go back tot radio all rooms when a loft room is available, it's SO worth the few extra dollars it costs. Lastly, though we didn't' leverage it this time, this hotel is pet friendly. The next time I'm in TC, our puppy is coming along; I can't wait!

    5
    « Friendliest staff! »

This place was fantastic! The people at the front desk were deserving of awards. The room was clean and tidy. My wife said that she thought the room smelled a little musty, but I think it was the smell of new paint. It looks as if the room was recently renovated. This is a great place to stay. The kids and I enjoyed the indoor pool. It goes as deep as eleven feet.

    5
« Great place to stay »

This hotel was a great place to stay. From the time of check in to the time we check out the staff was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and up to date. The free breakfast was very good with a good selection. Parking was a little tough with a a full hotel. Over all a great hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Highly recommend »

Great front desk service. Very clean facility. Everything looks newly updated. The room was large with a beautiful tile and glass floor to ceiling shower in the bathroom. The ONLY critique I have is that the lighting in the rooms are poor. Also be aware that the hotel does allow pets, so you may hear dogs barking during your stay. Morning breakfast bar has options for every palette. Clean, well stocked, plenty of seating. Coffee was good too and I consider myself a Coffee snob??. Location to old mission peninsula and downtown was ideal. If I need a hotel in TC again, I will definitely stay there.

« Excellent accomadations in Traverse City. »

A two nite stay for a relaxing visit to Traverse City. My wife and I were received by Christy who was friendly, informative and helpful. The location of the hotel is on the "main drag" and it is close to downtown (shopping and dining) tho not really close enough for walking but there is a free shuttle service for nearby travel. It is also close to the beautiful Bay, too,. The room was neat as a pin, well appointed and quiet (with a capital Q); no noise from the road or other rooms. The bed was quite comfortable--no complaint. The pool (which we did not use, mostly because idiot me forgot my swimsuit) was large and pristine. A complimentary USA Today welcomed us each morning. The complimentary breakfast offerings were numerous, hot and cold, and superior to what we often find. The staff was very, very, friendly and efficient. Tables were kept clear and clean. The place was spotless--everywhere. A full approval and recommendation from us.

    5
« A wonderful stay at Traverse City »

We could not have chosen a better place to stay. Close to downtown and the bay. The staff was friendly, efficient and most of all helpful in answering all our questions about the area. The room was neat as a pin and well appointed. The complimentary breakfast was quite good, ample in choices, hot and cold alike and the staff was friendly, kept tables clear and the area was spotless. Lastly, it was, despite being on "the main drag," really quiet--no noise, either from the road or other rooms.

« Guest Services at Best Western Plus Four Season »

We were so impressed with the Guest services: Carrie and Derrek were outstanding. From the moment we arrived they went out of their way to assist us - We cannot find words to express our gratitude. They have a natural gift with people. We wish them the best and a bright future. Christy Brown was very kind and helpful, too.

    5
    « Overall Experience »

The reception was warm and friendly over the phone and face-to-face. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was spotless. I called before I arrived to let them know we would arrive prior to check in and the gentleman said it was no problem and offered to sign me up for the rewards program, which allowed early check in at other properties in the future. Very helpful, pleasant, and professional. I would return here the next time I visit Traverse City!

« Upgraded and very nice »

Best Western is in process with upgrading their top hotels to "Best Western Plus" and this is one of the upgraded properties. The room was very well done, reminded me of a Marriott Courtyard, which tells me that Best Western is "upping their game". A little pricier than expected but reflecting their move to more "upscale". Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Good breakfast.

    4
    « Very well managed »

We booked a king bed room at this recently renovated Best Western. When the shower in our room would not shut off, staff quickly upgraded us to a two room suite to make up for the inconvenience of having to change rooms. Pros: comfortable mattress and pillows, nice decor, close to downtown and not too far from Sleeping Dunes National Seashore, wineries, etc., very clean, helpful, friendly staff, very good wifi Cons: The elevator was not conveniently located. The included breakfast, which featured scrambled eggs, sausage and the usual assortment of motel breads and pastries, could have been better.

    « Highly Recommend!!! »

Hotel was remodeled from nearly the ground up a couple years ago. We stay here every time we come to Traverse City. The hotel and rooms are exceptionally clean. « Great location and very friendly staff »

The hotel has been remodeled and has a southwestern feel to it. We had a room on the main floor around the corner from the lobby and it was very quiet. Big plus for us was sitting under the open patio cover to enjoy breakfast and cocktails in the evening (We brought our own). The hotel does not have a bar. Breakfast was the typical free breakfast with cereals, waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy etc. Everything was fresh and clean thanks to the staff member whose only task is to keep it fresh. She was very friendly. We will stay here again.

    « Wonderful stay »

We were pleasantly surprised by the improvements in this always good hotel. The entire establishment is recently remodeled & furnished. It absolutely sparkled, all staff was pleasant & efficient. We saw families & couples without children & everyone looked happy to be there. The full hot breakfast was wonderful. We'll always stay there in the future.

    « Loved this place! »

We totally enjoyed our stay as a family. The hotel looks great. We loved the 24 hr pool, loved the fresh cookies each evening between 6-8pm, LOVED the 2 bed LOFT, loved the easy parking, loved the breakfast, loved the blueberry waffles at breakfast, etc.... Absolutely NO complaints!

« Easy to find but a little pricier than other Best Westerns »

The stay was wonderful but a bit pricier than other Best Westerns so it might not be as affordable for families with small children. Mattress quality was soft and might not be for everyone. The location was close to the highway but I found the depth of the swimming pool at a depth of 11 feet to be too deep for hotel guests. There was no hot tub at this location so I wondered why was this done this peculiar way.

« Convenient location, good price, comfortable bed, poor breakfast. »

We decided to stay in Traverse City at the last minute and called the Best Western based on Trip Advisor reviews. We got the last king room which was handicap accessible and unfortunately did not have windows. It was very clean and comfortable though and was very inexpensive. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very quiet. As with other Best Westerns, the breakfast was not very good with very few healthy options.

« Nice place to stay »

Nice hotel and comfortable beds, only concerns I had is the shower is setup so when you use it water goes all over the floor, there is only 1/2 a shower door. Ended up using several towels on the floor to keep it dry

    « Great stay! »

My husband and I were both very pleased with every aspect of this hotel! It was renovated recently and looks beautiful (and you cannot beat the price!). The staff was also very friendly and helpful. There's cookies at the front desk each night but we missed it because we were always out doing something. The continental breakfast was also very good.

    « Dissatisfied traveler »

The hotel is beautiful renovated, unfortunately the rooms are small and the wall are thin we could hear everything in our room. The first night we we're awakened by loud talk several times in the night and the beds were extremely uncomfortable, I did mention something at front desk when we went down to enjoy breakfast. I then decided to contact the main 800 #, we were moved to a suite which was bigger but the beds were still hard as rocks. I did want to compliment the staff Carrie, Derek and Christy because they did try to accommodate unfortunately besides getting new mattresses there wasn't anything they could do.

    « What a pleasure! »

Staff was helpful and friendly, from check in to maintenance. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Breakfast choices were varied and you could have a healthy breakfast. All in all a most pleasant experience. I needed to do laundry and the laundry room was clean.

    « Great place! »

Stayed for one night in rooms 129 and 130. Very nice, clean and comfortable. These were loft rooms with a queen bed on each level. Rooms have microwave, coffee maker and fridge. Staff was so professional and friendly. Good location and easy to access. I would stay again for sure!

    « Horrible stay »

I've been traveling to Traverse City every chance I get on and off for 15 years. My stay here was not pleasant. It was the second time I had stayed , the first was not so bad. We were checked into a room that hadn't been cleaned although seemed to be recently upgraded. We were moved to another which seemed better. The location was decent. The staff seemed disconnected, not unpleasant. The temperature control didn't seem to be working in the room we were in and were too exhausted to move rooms again.

    5
    « Great Service »

All of the employees are very professional. We met one that was outstanding. Daniel at the front desk is exceptional. He is very courteous and friendly. We plan to stay here again in the near future..

    4
    « One night stay »

The room was oversized, the front desk staff was very pleasant. The shower was the European kind with half a door. The breakfast was more than adequate altho typical of all BW. Unfortunately, there were some large families staying there with unruly children which made the breakfast experience less than pleasant, but not the hotels fault. Convenient location on main road. Downtown just a few minutes car ride away. We would stay there again when in the area.

    4
    « Nice room »

Comfortable, clean room recently remodeled. Comfortable bed. All the staff we interacted with were very nice and courteous. Great price and value. The Free breakfast was tasty and there was a nice variety to choose from. Would recommend.

    « One Night Stay »

My husband and I were traveling through and looking for hotels that were nice but still allowed pets. This Best Western seemed to have been updated as far as décor and amenities go and allowed dogs of any size (we have a 70lb shepherd lab) all with a fairly reasonable rate. Overall- since we only stayed one night I'd have to say our stay was great! The staff was friendly and helpful when we were looking for a restaurant that also allowed dogs, they even gave us a map and directed us to the easiest route there and back. There were a couple stains on the carpet, a weird dent in the ceiling and a "modern" shower that did not have a full door which as a result our dog was in and out of the entire night whether someone was showering or not. However, thank you Best Western if we need you again we'll call!

    5
    « Outstanding »

The staff at this hotel is absolutely outstanding. The kindest people I have ever encountered at a hotel. We travel often and stay at a Ritz Carlton at least twice a year. The staff here is better then at the Ritz. We had an issue and the staff was genuinely concerned. They went above and beyond and even put us in a different room. The hotel is very nice and new. We stayed in the loft room and our daughter really enjoyed her space in the loft. Do yourself a favor. Book this hotel.

    5
    « Nice updates »

We stayed here just over 2 years ago and they've done a lot of improvements since our last visit. Very nicely remodeled! Room was nice and clean. The cookies in the evening were a yummy bonus. The staff were helpful and friendly.

« We always stay here. »

Very friendly staff. Room was clean but there was insufficient lighting made the room feel dark. the room wasn't very big and there was no room for a comfortable chair. Nice upgrades to bath area. Kudos for the breakfast and the very friendly and helpful staff.

« It Worked For Our Needs »

My buddy & I stayed here recently while passing through on a Michigan golf trip. I picked it because 1) it looked like the best bang for the $, 2) good reviews, 3) I kinda liked the 2 Queen loft option providing us a little separation and privacy. When we checked in the place wasn't quite as cool as it looked on their website but it was clean & comfortable enough which are my priorities when picking a hotel. Good location to downtown Traverse City being just a couple of miles down the road. They had a decent complimentary hot breakfast in the morning which we took advantage of. The ladies working at the front desk were also very friendly and helpful showing me places of interest to go check out. No regrets but IF I'm every in Traverse City again I'll probably look for somewhere else to stay along the lake or where there's some scenery.

    « Unexpected Pleasure »

We have stayed at a fair number of Best Westerns over the years and generally know what to expect. However, this location was exceptional. They have done a very good job of updating and maintaining this property. It is a great value for the price. The Staff is very good and helpful. They pay attention to detail. We would highly recommend stating at this Best Western if your travels take you through this part of the world.

« GREAT ROOMS AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE »

What a really great place to stay. We reserved one of the rooms with a loft bedroom. Our daughter just loved it. The staff here go out of their way to make sure that you have good accommodations . When was the last time you received a call from the front desk asking if everything is satisfactory with your room. ? If we ever come back to Travis City, we will definately stay here again.

    « Weekend getaway »

Local staff did an excellent job correcting the error made by the corporate reservation department. Very convenient location and the staff was very good. Our room had a loft set up with a queen bed in the upper room. This would be perfect for children or another couple but not needed on this visit.

« Very happy with our stay! All good! »

« Over Night Out of Town »

We just needed to get out of town for a night so decided on Traverse City. This was a nice place to stay for a night. The pool was nice. We got in a couple hours early and had to waste a some time around town before being able to check in, because our room was not ready yet, but we did not schedule an early check in either. Over all, this was a nice place to stay!

    « Campground Scouting »

We spent one night at the Best Western Four Seasons based on the TripAdvisor reviews. The hotel is very nice - either newly built or newly renovated. The check-in was very smooth and friendly. The room #105 was very nicely decorated with two queen beds, microwave, refrigerator, wardrobe and desk. The bathroom sink is RIGHT inside the door which is a little weird. The bathroom was newly renovated with a nice shower. The bed was comfortable and the room was VERY quiet. I think a thunderstorm was due to pass through town during the night, but I did not hear a thing. There was no noise from adjoining rooms or from above. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. Three kinds of fresh fruit, yogurt and several toppings for the yogurt - granola, fruit and coconut. There were scrambled eggs, link sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, three kinds of juice, three kinds of cereal (is there a pattern of "three" here? :-) ) Cinnamon swirl bread for toast, regular bread, bagels, several kinds of muffins and Danish. All fresh and excellent. The only reason I do not give it a five rating is because of the minimal bathroom counter space and the tiny lumpy pillows. I have stayed in hotels in this price range that have a choice of firm, medium and soft pillows in the room all labeled accordingly. The pillows in this Best Western were small and lumpy. Overall, we would stay there again.

« BEWARE IF YOU LIKE A CLEAN ROOM!! »

The room was very, very, dirty! The stairs up to the loft, had layers of dirt on them, the chair for the desk was covered in food and stains. The bathroom had a few sheets of toilet paper on it, was not even replace with a full room. A plastic cup was put on top of the light above the sink in the bathroom area and left. A dog keep us awake all night, This is our second stay at this BW. The first stay was just as bad, gave it a second try, will not come again!!

    « Time well spent »

This was a great choice for my family to stay. Newly remodeled, large indoor pool with a deep end, clean rooms and a great room with a spiral staircase and a loft. Great hot breakfast in the morning that filled us up. We spent two nights during our spring break and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Kids swam and we worked out in the fitness room. Great pricing as well. Will be staying here again for sure! So glad we stayed here!

« Nice property, convenient location »

Currently staying here at the BW 4 Seasons in Traverse City, It is a nice property, rooms are clean. The location is very convenient to the downtown area and the local community center, and of course the beaches, trails and all of the outdoor things that TC has become so famous for. Staff is friendly and parking is also convenient.

    « Excellent Service + Great Rooms »

We had a great time in Traverse City and a great experience staying at the Best Western. Christy at the front desk was helpful and friendly through-out our stay. We enjoyed clean, recently remodeled rooms, and friendly service! She recommended an excellent restaurant for a party of six and even booked our taxi. Thank you.

    « Weekend Getaway »

We recently stayed in the Best Western for a weekend getaway with friends. The hotel had been remodeled recently and was beautiful. They had a great breakfast in the morning in a very clean lobby and the breakfast had waffles and scrambled egg and sausage amongst other items. It was very nice. The staff however was over the top, very friendly and accommodating from the front desk to house keeping. Great job!!! I would definitely stay here again. The only bummer was there is not a hot tub, but we still used the pool and that was also clean and the pool area was nice and warm. A bonus since it was snowing outside.

« A great place to stay in Traverse City »

The staff at the Best Western Four Seasons is first class. They are all very accommodating, and helpful and knowledgeable of the area. They are professional and very friendly. The location of the hotel seems very private, yet you are right near everything that you would want to visit in Traverse City.

    5
« Great stay for value »

The lobby is clean with a very friendly staff. The rooms are always very clean when you stay there. They have a shuttle service that is free that will take you downtown TC. Also enjoy the option of having a 24 hour pool.

« Great Hotel and Great Staff!! »

Visited our grandson for his birthday and had him come to the hotel to use the pool and spend the day. When the folks at the hotel found out we were celebrating his birthday they made arrangements for us to hold our celebration in their dining area rather than back in our room and even gave him a birthday card signed by everyone. Again, a great experience and the General Manager, Russ, was terrific!

    « Excellent stay! »

We stayed here over Easter weekend. Great location just minutes away from shopping, dining and entertainment. The facility and rooms were very clean. Beds were comfy. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Didn't get a chance to check out the 24 hour pool. Had a good selection to choose from for breakfast. We were really pleased with the experience. I would definitely stay here again in the future and I highly recommend this hotel to future travelers.

    « Clean and a swimmable pool »

The room was clean and comfortable though not as large/roomy as depicted in photos. The staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast is decent and allowed us to save buying a meal out each day while on our trip. We enjoyed swimming in the pool that is actually deep enough to swim in.

« Week end get away »

Room was very clean and well kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was curious why during the upgrade the bathroom electrical duplex was not replaced with a GFI type duplex. That could be an issue. All said we enjoyed our visit and time in Traverse.

    « Great service »

The staff here was the greatest. We got here early and able to check in. Later that night we found a problem with tv in our room and they moved us to a different room without charging us. The new renovations are great. Will be staying here again next time we come up.

    « Great Place/Enjoyable Stay »

I found this hotel on Priceline got a great deal and will definitely return and stay here again. The staff exceeded my expectations, friendly, professional, helpful, reliable, above and beyond. The hotel is clean, the pool is nice and the full hot breakfast was delicious. Yes the hockey kids were having fun in the hallway, lol.

    « Wonderful experience »

I cannot say enough about the positive experience that we had at this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and did some skiing in the area, hiked in Sleeping Bear Dunes Park and enjoyed the local dining. Christy on the front desk was wonderful! She provided us with all of the information we needed to keep our days busy and make the most of our holiday in the area. The entire staff were always pleasant and cheerful. The pet-friendly room was outstanding...comfy bed and nice shower. Breakfast was very good each day. I wouldn't even consider staying elsewhere and will definitely be back to this hotel on our next trip to the area.

    « Beat My Expectations »

This was the best choice I could have made. Everything from the staff to the pool was excellent!!! Could not have had a nicer stay. The continental breakfast was amazing also. Usually when you are told you have a free breakfast, it consists of coffee, juices and bagels. This breakfast was wonderful. Eggs, sausage biscuits and gravy and waffles were just some of the items for breakfast. The pool was also open 24hours, which was great. Thank you Best Western!!

« Hockey Tournament Team Hotel »

This was an ideal location for teams playing at Center Ice Arena. They let our kids play knee hockey in the spacious corridor away from other guests. The rooms were all new and refreshed. Very nice accommodations, very helpful staff and a great pool area. The breakfast was average, but nice for what your paying and perfect for a bunch of hungry hockey players.

    5
« Great Stay! Very friendly and easy to work with. »

The room was great with the second floor, the kids really enjoyed that. The breakfast was great and the front desk staff was exceptionally wonderful. I will definately be staying here again the next time I visit Traverse City!!

« Best Stay in TC ever! »

I have stayed in Traverse City every year for the last 12 years and this was my best stay ever. Our room was a suite with a loft. My girls enjoyed stay above us and it was very safe. Plenty of room for all of us. Our room was extremely clean, bathroom was amazing, the pool was wonderful! The staff was extremely friend, kind and helpful. Our breakfast was great and fresh, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage, assorted pastries, yogurt, waffles, juices and fruit. They even make homemade cookies that are available 24 hrs. The front desk lady even came and picked up our plates when we were done eating. Very kid friendly. I hope that our group reserves Best Western every year!

« Nice location and pet friendly! »

Our Son is enrolled at NWMCC so we spent a Friday night at this Hotel. The Staff were both helpful and extremely personable. We brought along our Pug for her first trip ever. There is a nice area to walk your Dogs on the west side of the Hotel. We were also walking distance to the campus which was very nice. Our room was the King suite, located in the corner above the main entrance. It was nicely updated and perfect for our family. I certainly will be staying here in the future while our son is going to school there and beyond.

    4
    « Convenient Shuttle »

We stayed here for one night and did not have a car. The shuttle was perfect for getting to and from the airport and around the city. The drivers were friendly and made good suggestions about places to visit. The rooms were comfortable, but nothing special. We could walk to the Dennos Museum which had been on my list of things to do. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

    « Great everything! »

This hotel is perfect for singles, couples and very family friendly. The staff welcomes you with open arms. They helped us (boyfriend and I) with any questions we had. Highly recommended and at a great price, especially for the area. Staying here again for sure!

« Moving from the west »

I recently took a position in Traverse City and needed a short term location until my home was ready. My wife and I, along with our two cats, have stayed with Best Western for nearly a week at this time. Without and reservation I will tell all who read this that this hotel in very nice but it is the staff that commands a 4 star rating! From the moment we arrived, throughout the following days, ALL members of the staff were utterly polite and friendly. If you find yourself in Traverse City and in need of lodging, without hesitation I recommend and urge you to stay with some of the best people I have yet to meet. Thank you to the staff at Best Western Four Seasons for a tremendous stay! Jon V.

    « February »

First time here...we had a first floor pet friendly room. The room was very comfortable. We had a 2nd door in our room to bring the dogs right outside! Great plus!! We slept great and the morning breakfast people were so very friendly and pleasant! Only thing I would add would be a short fence near the dog walk area as the traffic from the main road is a little scarey. Would definitely stay here again or recommend!

« Great Satff and Rooms »

I was staying in Traverse for a hockey tournament wth 9 other families. Christy at the front desk was wonderful! So friendly and make sure we had everything we needed. Deb Kresnak in group sales was terrific! She arranged my room block and let us use the breakfast area for a team lunch. Housekeeping was friendly and overall it was a great stay. I would definitely recommend this Best Western to family and friends.

« Best Western Four Seasons - great winter getaway »

My son and I came to Traverse City for the TC Microbrew & Music Festival. The Best Western was very convenient, located close to downtown, had a complimentary shuttle and hot breakfast and full in-room amenities, including a fridge and microwave. The hotel was recently renovated, so all was clean and new. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room cozy, especially after spending countless hours out in cold weather. We would definitely stay her again.

    « VERY CLEAN !! »

What a Clean & Friendly Hotel.. we stayed Feb.11-14. The Rooms were spotless as was the rest of the area.. Pool very warm & 11' deep !!, workout area also very nice. We encountered quite a winter white out during our stay, but with Christy & Carrie at the front desk they told us about the free shuttle they have ( be sure to tip your driver, ours were fun) The Lobby had a fire going, TV on & many newspapers to chose from, I spent some time there reading & visiting (when they were not helping incoming people) with Christy & Carrie they were so nice and always made sure we had everything we needed. A full Breakfast was set up every morning & Very Good !! our room was very nice and the Bed very comffy :) Cannot say enough nice things about this Hotel, very impressed with how clean & tidy everything was. I would also like to thank Beth at the front desk, again a very nice & helpful young Lady. We will be back for sure this Summer !!

« Best Western Traverse City - Great Hotel, Great Service »

I've traveled a bit in my left but never stayed at a Best Western so I had no idea what to expect when I arrived, in a snow storm, in Traverse City in January. To my delight, the check-in process took minutes and I was on my way to my room, which was comfortably warm and clean. The bed was wondrously comfortable and there were enough pillows to choose from that I found the perfect one. The HVAC in the room worked perfectly and kept the room at a comfortable temperature even when the outside temps dropped into the teens. The bathroom was clean, plenty of towels, and refreshed daily. Housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was good, lots of options, but I'd avoid the eggs, all other choices were great. In all I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Traverse City area and will add Best Western to my list of preferred hotels.

« Best-- Best western ever! »

We visited January 16th when the snow began to fall... We love snow, but wow was it a lot. We rented a loft room and it was so clean and modern without a speck of dust or mildew. The hallways are all connected indoors which is nice in January. The breakfast was The usual waffle bar, eggs, sausage, yogurt, toast etc. I thank the nice staff there as we arrived 5 mins before breakfast ended and they were so nice to help us out so my kids and us could eat. We didn't get the stare down some places have given us when arriving later than planned. Laundry was awesome, updated, and modern-- which I usually don't do laundry away from home, but needed to. This was a pleasant experience! We didn't have time to use pool. Staff was helpful. We definitely will be staying here again!

Very friendly staff, awesome breakfast and newly remodeled. Very nice sitting areas in lobby with fireplace and wifi. The king room we stay in was on the small side but very clean with large glass shower. Perfect for young families, there is a large indoor pool and great location close to all Traverse City activities.

    « Awesome stay »

My older daughter and her family were in Traverse City for vacation. I decided to bring my other daughters and grand daughter for a two night stay to hang out with them. I chose Best Western Four Seasons due to the rate and fact that the pool was 24 hours. We were only arriving late on Friday, so the girls and I could go to pool to relax and have some fun after our 4.5 hour drive. Hotel was nice and clean. Pool was awesome 7 good temperature. Beds were very comfortable, slept great! Staff was very professional, and caring. Very relaxing stay! Thanks. Would stay here again!

    « Had a GREAT experience »

This re-modeled Best Western was absolutely beautiful. We were told that our room was a pet-friendly room and right by the dog run. Apprehension was followed by delight. Our room was a "triangle" shape and was absolutely beautiful! It was clean with lovely decorations and colors. It even smelled wonderful. We were more than pleased with this stay and plan on staying whenever we are in Traverse City for years to come. Thank you to the staff for their professional, friendly manner.

    « Had a bad experience »

We stayed at The Best Western and had a bad experience in our room. The room was not cleaned as we have had at other motels, hotels. The bathroom was not the cleanest as was the room. Another reason is that this is pet friendly. Dogs barking as the people had left leaving the dog alone. We complained but no action. We will never stay here again. So, I am not one to complain, but it was a bad experience

    « Nice Best Western »

Room was nicely renovated, it was a bit small but it worked for us. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good but they could use a bit more seating. Appreciate having a mini-fridge in the room, wish all hotels had one!

The site is newly remodeled and very nice with a modern and clean appearance. The staff was great and very helpful. Due to local power outages, many locals were also staying here and even though there were many pets along for the stay, we were not aware of any of them. The location is very convenient to all of the wineries and the shopping along Front Street. It is also easy driving distance to the local casino. The breakfast was good with more options than most free breakfast places. Will definitely come back.

    « Excellent Hotel!!! »

This property was completely renovated. The room was extremely comfortable and very clean. The staff went above and beyond in everyway possible. I'll be staying there again. The breakfast was a nice touch along with the afternoon cookie. I love the pool.

« Nice hotel, resonable price »

I have been to several hotels that offer a free breakfast. This hotel has one of the better ones that I have experienced. The room appeared newly remodeled? The shower worked fine, however it was a somewhat odd layout. It was a walk in, that had glass on just 1 half (shower head side). If you don't aim the shower head correctly the bathroom floor gets wet.

« Most friendly staff we have ever run across »

On a real off season trip we decided to head to Traverse for some Christmas shopping, a nice dinner and spend the night. Had made a reservation here based on TA reviews. We almost had the place to ourselves, at the pool it was just us, at breakfast there were only ourselves and one other couple (apparently only 9 rooms were rented for the night). Prices get really really dirt cheap in the off season. But what stood out the most was the staff, the most helpful, courteous, accommodating staff we have ever met.

« Great value and wonderful staff and service »

Our room was clean with a really good television and updated bathroom. Our breakfast hostess, Linda, made sure the food was fresh and hot. She was so pleasant to all the guests and many of us appreciated the hospitality.

« Best service of hotel employees. »

Staff was helpful and informative. We met Glenda Thomason and she either answered every question immediately or found the answer for us. Wonderful stay in Traverse City and a large part of our enjoyment was because of Glenda.

    « One Night Stand »

Enjoyable stay, breakfast very good (liked the waffles as they had some taste compared to some places where pancake machines turn out tasteless cardboard; could use some fresh fruit offerings), room clean, staff very friendly, site fairly close to downtown. No street or neighbor noise to bother. Used Best Western Reward points to cover and this hotel required less than others that are comparable in cost; but it was definitely shoulder season time.

« Great value and wonderful hotel and staff »

Our quick get away for our wedding anniversary led us to Traverse City, Michigan. Never having visited the area before but with prior experience with Best Western we didn't hesitate to make our reservations. The hotel decor was lovely and staff was extremely friendly and courteous.

    « Great rooms »

Recently updated rooms, pleasing decor, walkin rain showers and a good and hearty breakfast. Friendly greeting by staff on a wintry evening made me feel warm. Check out front desk staff just as pleasant and efficient.

    « Wine tour accommodations »

Fantastic! Newly renovated, quiet, super helpful staff. Shuttle (free) until midnight! Excellent breakfast included. Nice pool, great exercise facilities. I would stay again and again, and will book there for the next "Wine Tour!" We arrived super early but they let us check in anyways. They gave us great tips for travel in the area. Kudos to the staff on a job VERY well done!

    « Excellent Service »

We know that the service is great and if we are in need of help they are glad to do it. The rooms are clean and fresh. The breakfast is always good. Just a very pleasant experience when having to go to the hospital is on our minds.

    « Great experience »

My husband and I stayed the weekend of Nov 20 for 2 days. The whole experience was wonderful. I was skeptical because previously the building had little curb appeal. The renovations have completely transformed the place! It's beautiful and homey. The room we had was very clean and nicely decorated, including the bathroom. I'm a bit of a germaphobe when it comes to hotel rooms, but there were no concerns with this place. Breakfast was hot and delicious with many options. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Some jerk smoked either inside or with the outside door open which completely stunk up our room, but management took care of it quickly. Check-out day had snow on the cars, but an employee took the time to clear off everyone's cars! It seems they are very focused on guest experience and that is wonderful. Looking forward to staying again.

« Comfortable and cared for like Royalty »

My friends and I stayed at the Best Western four Seasons this weekend. The rooms were spotless, quiet and so comfortable. The breakfast is very good and the area is incredibly clean. The staff was well trained, helpful and very pleasant. They were fast at check in, breakfast service and every other little need we had. Christy helped us plan a fabulous trip to visit local wineries. We will stay again!

« no rest for the weary »

I was in traverse for the annual iceman and have stayed in the past at different hotels. the buddy I shared the room with talked us into trying the best western this year. the room rooms had been renovated but the bed was hard and I did not sleep well. the hotel allows pets and we had a barking dog next door at 2 am. the front desk did not seem to take care of it. it was just enough barking to wake you back up as you were falling back to sleep. room had a slight wet dog smell which i could not place until the barking. our wonderful view of the fencing was a nice touch but I doubt there are better views unless you prefer the road or parking lot. .breakfast was good but we were in a hurry on the day we left so I almost missed my flight. it is nicely decorated. management needs to adjust the pool chemicals -they seem high and irritated the skin of two of my buddies - glad I did not use the pool. lighting in the pool is dark it seemed also. staff was nice but nothing over the top. for the prices charged - it was a city event so they took advantage - bad taste from that feeling with no enjoyable stay or rest.

« Pet Friendly, Clean and Not Too Expensive »

The title pretty much summarizes it. There just aren't as many pet-friendly places these days that don't charge and arm and a leg for you to take Fido with you. The BW Four Seasons is on the more reasonable side for pet fees at $15/night. Of course, I'll never understand why it's a fee per night instead of per stay. If you stay three nights, do they have to work three times as much to clean the room? And having worked many years in the business, I've seen more damage done by children and drunken adults than by any dog. Anyway, the room was clean and had ample charging USB charging stations for your electronics. The location is right off a main street, so if you're particularly sensitive to road noise, this might not be for you but it wasn't an issue for us. The staff was especially friendly and easy to work with (e.g. housekeeping when we get a late start each day during our stay). There are a few lighthouses withing driving distance, wineries and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. The rates are reasonable but more expensive on Fridays/Saturdays. To wrap it up, we'll stay there again.

    « Worth Every Penny! »

Looking for a room? Traverse City, MI., the boardwalk of northern Michigan, has plenty of them-- condos, timeshares, camping grounds, beach shacks, a vintage landmark hotel, golf resorts, Mom & Pop motels (although certainly not your mom or dad)-- but few of them are for the unwary traveler. Unlike many of the gentle and traditional summer towns in the area, Traverse City lost much of its own innocence years ago, helped along by a nearby casino. That can mean that some of those rooms can not only be over-priced, but bear the beaten-down signs of peeling wallpaper and sagging beds that look like they might be rented by the hour. There is a bright spot, even if it's found under the unlikely sign of a Best Western. I also like Best Westerns, sometimes for the adventure in never knowing just what you're going to find. This Best Western Four Seasons may surprise (or even shock) some of those thrift-minded BW shoppers for two reasons-- the best part may be that the entire property has been given more than just a hasty facelift-- it is a totally refreshed, even redefined retreat down to almost every detail, both throughout and inside the rooms, the kind of rare venue that makes you wish you weren't staying for only one night as soon as you check in. I guess you could say the whole place is so bright and welcoming it makes you smile. The rooms themselves are so comfortably furnished they feel tailored in a very stylish and upscale way as if there really was a host preparing for your visit. All the amenities, beds, linens, fridge, microwave, effortless Wi-Fi connection have all been included, many discretely hidden in the console, but the wow factor clearly comes with a semi-glass shower with a true rain shower head (and controls removed to the other side) and, yes, in the cool lake nights, you can even sleep safely with the window open (a high barrier fence with neighboring backyards helps). There is an excellent bistro restaurant with full service (and bar) only a walk across the driveway. The second shock may be that this isn't one of those $99 specials-- although manyT.C. venues will jack up their rates faster than a casino dealer when the traffic allows. A full hot breakfast, free airport shuttle and parking, well-equipped gym and full-size indoor pool may help cushion the room charge-- but sometimes there are just places like this one where the service and the surroundings are just worth it. One sour management note however: with all these upscale touches, why not ditch those plastic glasses!

    « What ? »

We will still use Best Western but not at this one . The service was helpful but the room was dark the view was a big wood fence about 15 ft from the window. Its wasn't what we were used to getting from Best Western. There is not much more to be said .

    « Wow ~ What a Change! »

I have stayed at this hotel before and have always been satisfied. I knew they made improvements/renovations to the hotel but had no idea how incredible they were - WOW!!! Everything was amazing...breakfast space, lobby, hallway, elevator and the new guest bathrooms are incredible! Very well thought out and cannot wait to return!!!

I love very much not only the staff but the cleanliness of this hotel. The staff was very helpful and polite and I loved how clean and nice the swimming area was kept. The management staff did a great job leading and teaching the staff to be professional.

Our stay was two nights and the room was beautifully decorated, very close to Front Street attractions, pet friendly, great breakfast included, and with comfortable beds, microwave, mini frig, and helpful staff.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

Nicely Renovated. Very Comfortable place to stay. Not onsite activities but near many activities including beautiful areas to walk along the water. Table & 2 chairs in room are convenient for reading or using computers. Only complaint is lack of space by sink for any personal items.

« Color tour with the dog »

We were extremely happy to find that this hotel catered to people traveling with their pets. The room was immaculate, the staff friendly and the amenities perfect. During check-in, my husband inquired about a particular restaurant that we had noticed on our way to the hotel. The woman at the front desk (I wish I could remember her name) printed the restaurant's menu and also recommended the restaurant at the hotel next door. We ordered, my husband picked it up and we enjoyed an excellent meal in the comfort of our room. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!!

    « Fall Get Away »

We were quite pleased with the Best Western in Traverse City. This was our first trip to town and found that the location was accessible to all areas we went to. The rooms were small and tight, but clean. Our entire family commented how nice it was to have staff who welcomes you and continues to be pleasant throughout your stay. Two thumbs up to Glenda for making our breakfasts bright and taking the time to chat with our daughter. She was excited to see if Glenda was working the breakfast area on our 2nd morning. Nicely done Best Western. Hope to see you maintain the hotel for years to come! The one suggestion I have is to get better lighting in the pool area.

    « Comfortable »

Hotel was nicely decorated and clean. Desk attendant was very courteous and friendly. Easy access to room from parking lot. Nice breakfast area. Lots of pillows. Heater/Air had a continuous fan setting (for those who like to cover up outside noise and not have it turn on/off all nite).

« Best Western Four Seasons - Traverse City »

This hotel has recently been remodeled so all of the accommodations looked new. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. The only down part was that because we brought our dog, we needed to stay on the end of the hotel that was near the dog run. Our room was a loft room with a spiral staircase. Because the room was rather small, my husband and I both hit our head on the corners of the stairs at various times. Also, the size of our bed was a either a full or queen, I could not tell. We wanted a king but it was not offered in that section of rooms. My daughter loved the loft though - she had a nice bed and her own TV so she was thrilled. Plus being able to "go upstairs" to her own room was fun for her. She has already asked (twice) if we can go back to this hotel again. :) Overall, it was a nice hotel. The pool was beautiful and the breakfast was really good. The staff was also very helpful and courteous.

    « Service at it's best. »

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and it's staff. Everyone was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating. Christy was there for our check in and check out, and gave us a great overview of some fun things to do in TC. We were able to check in quite early, which helped out a lot. The room was very clean, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good, and well stocked. They have a free shuttle that they share with 2 other hotels that was so convenient for getting to and from the downtown area. We used it all weekend and it really put us at ease knowing we didn't have to worry about finding parking and were able to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about drinking and driving. Overall, the entire week was a blast and we have this hotel to thank for such a great stay. I highly recommend it and we will DEFINITELY be back.

« Traverse City fall trip »

Overall, it was a favorable experience, price is a little on the high side. Room size seemed a bit crowded but overall acceptable. The early end too breakfast make for being rushed in the AM; another hour and 1/2 would be ideal.

    « 3 night stay. »

Stayed for 3 nights in Traverse City Michigan. Close to town and area attractions and very very clean. Very helpful and courteous staff. We booked for two nights and stayed for an additional night. We were going to be close in area and decided to just stay there since we were happy with the service.

    « Great place! »

I had the opportunity to stay here while on a vacation with my mother. I had to bring my dog along, who is 14 years old and has some old age issues. Needless to say i was apprehensive about bringing her along, with all the trouble she can cause. My worries were completely unfounded The staff were so welcoming and friendly and even had treats for my dog at the time we checked in. The room we stayed in was immaculate and i couldn't have asked for a better stay in this hotel.

This Best Western hotel is excellent! All the rooms are newly decorated and very clean. We were able to bring our Shih-tzus and there was a nice area to take them out in. The breakfast was very good, and the employees go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Will be staying here again when in Traverse City!

    « Delightful stay »

I stayed here the night before a legislative ag tour of Northern Michigan, and the stay was just wonderful. The staff was friendly, funny and efficient during the check-in process, and very helpful in reminding me of the free hot breakfast and the 24-hour pool. Once I got to the room I found it nice and clean. Within 15 minutes the front desk called my room to make sure everything was as expected, which I think is a great practice. A lot of updated things, such as the docking station for charging my phone and all, made it extra special.

    « Best Western Room »

Overall the stay at the Best Western was excellent. The breakfast each morning was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This was a girls weekend - party of four and we booked the Queen Loft room. I would not do that again. It was okay for just sleeping - beds were comfortable however; the layout of the sink and bath facilities was not good at all. Sink was placed right in front of the bathroom door so anyone using the sink had to move for the other to get in the bathroom. Also, no toilet facilities in the loft and a narrow, winding steps was not good for middle of the night trips to the restroom.

« Good quality for its price »

Nothing posh or extravagant but has everything needed for a short term stay at Traverse city. Room was neat and cosy. The stuff was friendly and helpful. And traditional American breakfast (waffles, scrambled eggs and gravy) included in the price was a nice addition which we used only once though. The hotel is close to a beautiful park but not a walking distance from the centre. But that is not an issue if you have a car which you normally do have traveling in the U.S.

    5
    « A great place to stay! »

On our Michigan trip this was the best place we stayed. Very clean, updated, even a charging dock for electronics (every hotel should have one!). Great service, very professional. A little further from downtown but really a great value and pleasant stay. The bed was absolutely super, love to take it home!

« Nice Place to Stay and a Great Staff »

We stayed here two nights and had a nice experience. The hotel staff is very accommodating - there was a soccer meet in town during our stay and the motel was filled with yougsters. When the kids started runnning down the hallways at night, a call to the front desk brought a quick response and quiet was once more resumed. Great breakfast, immaculate rooms and breakfast room. Highly recommended..

    « Clean room, quiet »

Pros: price was affordable. Room was very clean. Room has a fridge and microwave. A/c and heat unit worked well. Staff was friendly. Fitness room was nice. Lots of pillows and blackout curtains. Separate shampoo and conditioner, some hotels only give conditioning shampoo, for someone with curly hair that's a nightmare so always pleasantly surprised when there is a separate conditioner. They even have free cookies for a night time snack. Close to downtown. Cons: Shower had the type of glass that doesn't go to the other end of the wall. This is just a pet peeve, but I think it's more drafty. Toilet paper and tissues were scratchy and low quality. Result: I'd definitely stay here again!

    « Extremely pleasant experience »

We were very pleased with our stay at the Best Western in Traverse City, MI. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The accommodations were excellent, from the rooms to the pool and fitness center. Breakfast was included and it was plentiful. The hotel was extremely clean and neat. It was a very short walk to the beach and walking distance to town. They also offer a free shuttle service.

    « A gift from the children »

A great hotel to book ahead at. The only draw back I found was trying to get out of the parking lot with busy traffic out front and no restaurant on premises. Surprised at how room rates increase for the weekends when you are staying a longer period including days during the week.

    « Traverse City stay »

This hotel stood out due to the amazing front desk staff. Very knowledgeable about the area and extremely accommodating. The breakfast was above average. Overall we would stay there again. The location made for it very easy to enjoy the wine tasting experience on both sides of the bay, large choice of restaurants, the down town shops and the water front. It is located on busy street but we heard no road noise at night. It was clean and bright lighting.
