    « Ara solis »

A good hotel with a Very helpfull friendly staff in a Nice enviromental area. THE choice in THE restaurant is not so good and Some more choice of Nice Whiskey, rum, brandy would-be be nice. The pool is also Very Nice, only the WiFi coulant be a lot better because Facetime does not work Very good

« A nice off-season long weekend at Ara Solis »

This hotel has a great infrastructure, location and personals. We were there with our 4-year old, and he loved it. The beach and the pool as well as the available facilities in the garden are very good. Taranto is just 10 min drive but the in-house restaurant is also very good. The beach was excellent.

    « Lovely stay »

On the plus side, the room was big with a lovely sea view, clean, good parking and very near to a the long sandy beach. On the minus side, breakfast was quite poor, bathroom fittings need some upgrade and staff were not the most friendly as they seemed to be doing that job in the absence of something else to do.

    « ok! »

The best thing about the hotel was the pool! plenty of sunbeads and shade- the rooms were ok , clean but average.... definitely ask for a sea view otherwise you will overlook the carpark. The food was below average, and not what i would expect from a 4 star hotel......there was no way to control the air con unless you asked reception to do it from their end! .. the area around is an industrial estate so would not choose to stay there unless no other option

    « Very average »

As previous reviews, the rooms and hotel were clean and the housekeeping staff were very good and cleaned our room every day. The pool was of a good size and also clean, but this was pretty much the only entertainment. The food was poor, breakfast was awful - an English breakfast consisted of cold scrambled egg, cut up frankfurters and if you got there in time, fatty lukewarm bacon, in the end we didn't bother going down for breakfast as it wasn't very enticing. We also ended up visiting the local shop for our evening meal where they cooked fresh roast chicken and chips for us, they also had a good selection of cold meats and cheeses. The waitresses at the hotel were friendly and helpful, the waiters were extremely brusque to the point of rude. I would not stay here again.

    « Very good choice »

Room was spacious with nice see view and very clean. Staff was very helpfull and friendly. Everything was excellent, only the breakfast coffee was not as perfect as one could expect for an Italian Hotel.

    « Very good »

The location is great. It's on the beach but only 15 minutes from the center of town. Nice clean good size rooms. The staff are terrific. We arrived around 2 pm when their restaurant was closed but thanks to the front desk manager Donato and the chef we had a nice lunch/dinner with great service provided by Antuanella - just for the four of us. Great Italian hospitality. In stark contrast to the warm welcome of the previous day the morning of the next day was a complete opposite when we came down for breakfast. First, the selection looked really tight - only bread, croissants, yogurt and water. When we asked for coffee an angry little man wearing a red jacket started screaming and yelling at us demanding to speak Italian, "no English." Then he brought in a few slices of cheese and ham. It was really strange but it looked as though everyone was used to such a scene. I give the hotel 5 stars anyway as it is really a good place and the rest of the team did their best to provide the best service they could.

« Modern hotel with good service, away from the noise of Taranto »

Friendly staff, good breakfast. This hotel is by the seaside a few km. from Taranto. It is part of a seaside community (which was shut down when I was there) separated from Taranto by a container port, an oil refinery and a train station/bus depot. One thing to watch if you have a car. There are some trees in the paring area which will shed sap on you a=car if yo park underneath. That sap will collect dust and look awful until you find one of those rare carwashes and clean it off.

    « Beautiful Location »

It was good experience for beach front hotel with very nice view, even if I did not have swimming due to cold weather. Fresh breeze in the morning I enjoyed wonderful view and hot in room coffee with balcony. Clean room and god staff with helpful advice for seafood restaurant where located 10 minutes driving to the port. Thanks and I wish to visit again this hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here during our touring trip of the Heel of italy. We have used Best Western Hotels throughout and they are well located, well prices and owner operated we find all ways the better than chain hotels

« Incredibly Fast WiFi Connection... Fantastic Setting!!! »

I'd like to start of by saying that as a Solo Traveler driving around Europe and Italy this summer the number one complaint of mine is Slow or Non-Existent WiFi. I have to say the this hotel has the fastest WiFi so far and FREE. The location was a bit difficult to find but the Hotel and the Location is perfect for the Beach Lover without the hastles of traffic. The room was very comfortable and the pool a dream after a long days drive. The only complaint here would be the choices of food. Not the best and the breakfast wasn't all that good either.

    « Disappointing »

This was at best a 2 star hotel. Generally clean but during our 9 day stay it was apparent that the vast majority of guests were businessmen working in the heavy industries - huge oil finery, Europe's biggest steel works, 2 huge cement works etc. all right next to hotel! Learnt that Taranto is also europe's most heavily polluted city! Although immediate position was on Lido Azzurro which was pleasant although busy and loads of rubbish left by the locals, no restaurants or shops for at least 10 miles. Staff were surly and rarely smiled. Senior receptionist chap also smoked within the building! Breakfast was very poor with items running out but no staff to replenish unless you went to reception. In fairness, we were given best room on top floor which was very large but spoilt by air con breaking down occasionally and shower pipe broken so little pressure. At one point there were no lifts for the morning period. Good pool but no service whatsoever and no bar service. Receptionist had to be called each time for a drink. Unless you want to stay in the hotel full time, there are far better locations for visiting Puglia. Not recommended.

« Very Nice But Isolated »

This is a very nice hotel for business and relaxing. It is a bit out of the way from other areas and restaurants. The restaurant seemed to have a limited menu for guest and workers. The pool is nice and you can walk down the beach a long way.

    « Nice location »

I was in the hotel twice during last few month becausa I was in Taranto for business. The hotel is great! When you arrive the staff is very kind and you quickly check in. Some more problems at check out: longer because there is only one person at the reception. Rooms are perfectly in Best Wester style: essential, not too big but very clean and with all confots you need. Bathroom is quite small but absolutely well organized and very clean. Breackfast is good but quite poor. The very bad point is the location! Even if the hotel is on the seaside and you have a great scene looking outside the window if you turn your head you will see the wood of chimney of ENI! Moreover you can have some difficulties in finding the hotel. It is very close to ENI but not well marked and if you don't have a detailed map or a GPS you will not be able to find it. It is quite far from Taranto city center and you must use your car if you don't want to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. (I didn't tried it) However the overall judgement is positive if you have just to sleep and you travel for business.
