Full of drug addicts…room was filthy, large blood stain on bed…take credit cards and change rooms..highly recommend you never stay at this location. Front clerk will not talk when questioned..treated like a piece of garbage, you will see from picture it's disgusting
This was the WORST hotel we have experienced. We have trusted the name Best Western, but not this time. Drug addicts both inside and outside of this Hotel. It's located in a very unsafe part of Sudbury. Homeless and addicts lingering about in the parking lot questioning whether our vehicle was safe overnight. Couldn't sleep wondering if someone might be breaking into our car. We left before sunrise the next day. Also, The smell of curry permiated the entire building. I love curry but not the lingering smell in my room.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were seamless. Room very dark and felt dingy. Towels were stained and of poor quality. Bed cover also stained which resulted in an uneasy and restless sleep. Stained bathroom walls also. Reading light not operational. Disappointed to have used our Rewards points for this experience however, better a free room than having to pay for this I suppose.
Hasan ant the front desk was amazing! Very polite and He was so kind and patient while helping to book my room! The room was nice and clean lots of space, big closet space fridge yummmy breakfast fruit, waffles and cereal:) Amazing guest! 10/10 recommend this hotel
Downtown location is beside Memorial Park, hangout for Sudbury's less fortunate. Seems to be a drug dispensary nearby. On the other hand, it's super well located for Sudbury Wolves games. Rooms are dingy, cramped and tired. Staff is friendly and helpful but they don't have much to work with. Lobby, elevator and hallways smell like the Indian restaurant on ground floor.
I was very pleased with my stay at Best Western - my room was very clean and cozy, with an incredibly comfortable bed. The complimentary breakfast was quite good as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome during my stay. The location is also super convenient, with many great restaurants within walking distance, and local attractions close by. I was very impressed with the value for the quality of service. Overall, I had a great experience and I would stay again. Highly recommend!
Stains on the bedding, tub, walls and roof. Awful smell in the room. AC unit barely worked, had it cranked and did barely anything. No parking and what parking was available was very little. Road to hotel was blocked and couldn't get through, no email stating so. The elevator was broken and unable to use, had to use the stairs to take 4 suitcases and 2 young children. Not in a nice area, lots of homeless. Not worth the price by far.
Staff are great. U get free coffee 24/7. U stay here and get a free breakfast. The breakfast had plenty of items and the breakfast area is clean and quiet. The pillows were really comfy, and bed was so comfortable. Highly recommend to stay here.
The hotel is new, so it's clean and well-maintained, as one would expect. The included breakfast was a typical continental spread with some hot items like eggs, waffles, etc. Everything was served hot and replenished frequently. Despite the hotel being busy, the staff worked efficiently. Overall, our stay was a positive experience.
We arrived to unclean room, not enough towels, uncomfortable pillows and mattress, air conditioning not working properly and insufficient parking. On top of that, the hotel is located across from a homeless encampment where people were sitting on the ground in the hotel parking lot smoking crack and injecting needles.
Really nice guest service on arrival I would love to come again whenever I have stay at Sudbury. Must try
Parking lot is a homeless encampment Do NOT leave your vehicle here Hotel has a strong smell of curry throughout, I like curry and it was so over powering I had to wash my clothes after. Comforter on the bed had stains. I should have read the reviews before booking and I would have seen this is a know issue
At the front desk, I was greeted by a warm and friendly welcome from Vina. She accommodate me with my room professionally and in a timely manner. Thank you Vina for your great customer service. Great experience would definitely recommend!!
The hotel was clean, well provisioned and the rooms were well designed. Breakfast was complimentary and with that, it had everything needed for a proper breakfast. For the price I'd happily stay here again.
Location, Beside a homeless shelter. No one seems to mention this in any re iews which is crazy to me. We checked in and went to get our bags from the car, and there was someone handle checking cars. Good restaurants within walking distance though Check in was seamless Breakfast was gross. Sausage was hard and pasty at the same time. Congrats on that one. No one to refill the coffee or milk and when they did it was at the bare minimum. - Rooms are dated - Wifi was great - Bed wasn't comfortable and for God's sakes please get normal sized or oversized pillows. I think that's a BW thing though so not this hotels fault - Check out was frustrating. We checked out a day early at 730 am. They informed us that since we didn't cancel with in 24 hrs of that day that we would be charged for that night. He said it's on their website as a policy. I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything other than cancelation must be 24hrs before Check in. NOT CHECKOUT. Even if that was the case Check out was at 11am. I stay at a lot of hotels throughout the year for business and this is the 1st time I've ever had this happen as I do Check out a day early quite a bit. This is extremely greasy and I will never stay at a BW again unfortunately due to this. This specific hotel has appeared to cut costs in ever spot imaginable and then making customers pay for nights they don't use.
I keep on coming g back to this hotel because I always receive service with smiles. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Breakfast is delicious and they even serve scrambled eggs and sausages. Staff is very attentive and courteous. This is my ho.e away from home. Thank you
This entire hotel needs a facelift, breakfast awful, tasteless scramble eggs, cardboard sausage, no staff to bring issues to. Noisy heater, not able to pull bedding up to neck. Lighting poor, can't lower tv audio lower than 5. I've experienced many other BW that surpassed this one. This is my least desired.
Found out the 1-888 numbers on the back of BW points card goes directly to Expedia Was not impressed But talked about it with Management at Sudbury location and they gave us a DIRECT Line to use anytime
Great location. Walking distance to everything. Great Italian restaurant was recommended by front desk staff called Respect Is Burning, to which we got a coupon for. Rooms are ok. Everything you need. Beds comfortable. Want to give a shout iut to Vina, front desk, who went above and beyond. She said she was just doing her job, but she did much more. A pleasure to have been served by her. I would come back
Strategically located premise close to most government buildings where my appointments were scheduled to take place therefor reducing the worrisome of finding a parking space and rushing against time.
Front desk was helpful and much better than overpriced hotels around the city. Breakfast had variety of options enjoyed the waffle as well. Rooms were neat and clean. Will stay again in the summer as well.
This property is old compared to the price they charge. It requires lot of upgrades to lobby, elevator, rooms etc. Breakfast don't have many options and refill was slow. Staff was good but they have limited options as well to help guests.
The best stay I had with my family and I was there for a function. The staff was really nice and helpful. The give me the whole idea about the city and the breakfast was very tasty. The room was clean and organized
This is a terrible property set among homeless encampments and discarded drug paraphinalia. The place is musty and not well kept. Rooms are lacking basic needs and complimentary breakfast is completely unsatisfactory. Forces to stay here on a bus trip we had a terrible night. The air conditioner sounded like a freight train.
Hotel was dated with a very small room with adjoining doors to rooms on either side. Bathroom had a heat lamp and no fan. Limited parking. Poor breakfast. Staff was nice. I would not recommend this hotel although it was clean. Pillows were tiny.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is across the street from a park full of homeless and drug users. The parking lot was across the street from the hotel about 50 feet from the park. I was there with my daughter and we did not feel safe. I tried to cancel reservation but it was non refundable. We went to another hotel. It was an expensive night paying for an additional hotel room but we felt safer there.
As soon as we arrived we knew we made a mistake in prepaying for the room. Unsafe area. The laundry, where they wash hotel linens, off the lobby was disgusting and indicative of the rest of the establishment. The luggage trolls are stained and filthy. We prepaid for the room so we checked it before walking out. It was heavy with smoke - despite nonsmoking signs everywhere. We prepaid and booked the room only hours prior, left before 4pm and the manager refused to refund us. We left and stayed at the Microtel that was located in a safer area and the rooms were clean.
The reception desk was understaffed as the receptionist was also supposed to be answering phones, talk to guests and take care of the included breakfast. He was truly trying to do his best to wear all those hats, but as you can understand this is too much for one individual. The rooms were outdated, well beyond the expiry date and not well cleaned
I had a very nice experience during my stay at Best Western Downtown Sudbury Centreville. The staff was polite and efficient. The breakfast, coffee was delicious. Thanks to The Manger Mr Sohail & your team for such a wonderful Stay.
Great stay hotel was clean and tidy and so was our room breakfast in the morning was very good and plenty of amout and of good quality no problem with Wifi and the hotel manager was of great help when asked about things to do in the City
The staff was very helpful and friendly especially the front desk manger Mr Sohail. The hotel is located in the centre of the city and in the nearby there are alot of restaurants and bars and also there is a private parking for tye client
As many have pointed out, your first impression when you walk in, is the strong ‘spicy' smell that carries through the entire hotel, we later figured out it might possibly come from the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel and that they prominently advertise in the lobby. Ok fine. The young lady at the front reception was friendly and courteous and made sure to tell us to review her as such..Ok fine, done. The parking situation is beyond anything I would expect at a BW, choice is to park across the street or in the back, we parked across and quickly realized there were dozens of homeless hanging out with no regards to the customers cars, ..leaning on them, crouching behind them, we saw all this from our room and quickly moved our car to the back, still an open space for anyone..the area in itself feels unsafe, when we got our car in the morning, there were people drinking around in the parking…at 9am..now for the room…it's big, bed was ok half the plugs weren't working, the walls, the carpets, the bathtub,..everything was dirty, fingerprints, ring of scum in the bathtub, coffee maker still had residue, it's all terribly outdated and tired…like a throwback to the 70's with no attention to cleanliness, there was 4 random holes in the wall,…the size of a bullet hole that had been plugged in an attempt to blend in with the wallpaper, really bizarre…we decided to use the fitness room that night, ..barely any lighting as half the bulbs seemed burnt out and flickering, no towels, no disinfectant or wipes anywhere, no remote to work the tv, a big plastic water jug with murky water that has probably been there for years..everything is totally unsanitized…breakfast opens at 6, by 7 when we showed, hardly anything left and no fruits …apparently they don't do fruits for a continental breakfast at this place…these are not the standards of BW…Stay at your own risk! A real rip off..
I stayed here with friends for 3 night. The rooms was very clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful and also the breakfast and Internet service is included in the price. The hotel has also a personal parking space.
The room was fairly clean but the carpets had many burn marks. Four out of 5 light fixtures did not work as well the TV Remote did not work and we did not get towels until 8:30pm. The downtown area the hotel is in was dead with a lot of closed up businesses and many homeless looking people. Not a nice place to just take a walk.
I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to after my stay here. This is not a place to bring a family to with kids. We weren't familiar with the area but upon arrival, we noticed that the “parking lot” (room for 6 cars) and general area around the hotel were full of people on drugs/homeless. We felt worried leaving our car there. The rooms are dated & in need of repairs, toilet seat was falling off & bathroom door wouldn't lock. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was ok, the basics, nothing amazing. We noticed that there were a number of hotel guests that were members of the homeless community - which it's great that they have somewhere to stay but we didn't feel safe having our kids there. Lots of people strung out on drugs in the hallways and on the elevator. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Just wanted to warn people that this is not a good/safe are of town, which is unfortunate for people trying to run a hotel business because it isn't their fault.
Rooms are well appointed and very clean. They really take care of their guests needs. Vina was very accommodating in providing such excellent service. I will be always staying at this hotel from now on. Keep up the good work Sudbury Best Western. Thank you
My experience at the Best Western Hotel was outstanding. The hotel staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making me feel valued as a guest. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The hotel's facilities, including the fitness center were impressive. The convenient location of the hotel made it easy to explore the city and nearby attractions. Overall, I highly recommend the Best Western Hotel Sudbury for its exceptional hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location.
Stayed here because it was recommended for pets. We didn't expect much, just a place to sleep, walk our dog, find a place to eat and head out on the next day of our roadtrip. The location is terrible. Lots of homeless people, many with substance abuse issues wandering the streets around. Saw a syringe on our first walk to the public park nearby when walking our dog. Didn't feel comfortable leaving anything in the car. Wish I'd stayed out of downtown Sudbury entirely.
What a horrible experience. The lady who checked us in was so unwelcoming, almost verging on unfriendly. We went straight to our room and before we had taken off our coats we noticed the carpet was filthy. Had not been vacuumed at all. The bathroom was dirty, and the bath was full of hairs. The garbage had not been emptied. We also only had one towel. We called down for towels and to ask if someone could clean our room. We were told they had no housekeeper but the maintenance man could help. He came straight away and vacuumed and rinsed the bath etc. He was very pleasant. In the evening we ordered a taxi and the gentleman on reception was very friendly. It was a very noisy room overnight as the heating/air unit was extremely noisy and a dog was barking on and off from a nearby room. We had no idea we were near rooms with pets. In the morning I went to use the coffee machine and turned over the mugs, omg, they had not been cleaned from the last use and were filthy. So we decided not to use it! I went to pull the covers over the bed and noticed that the duvet had what looked like old cigarette burns on it. The hotel is obviously very neglected and very unclean. My advice is book somewhere else, do not waste your money on this place. We gave it a 1 star as there was parking on site!
I stayed for 4 nights at this hotel, they have amazing customer service and fast easy check in. The room was very clean and everything necessary was available. There was a heat lamp in the bathroom that warmed the whole bathroom. The breakfast had great options and tasted good. I will definitely be back.
Hotel is in a perfect location for me price is always right n the staff is amazing always my number 1 go to hotel to stay at rooms r always very clean n they r downtown so there located near multiple restaurants n nightclubs
When you walk in the lobby is clean and organized. The front desk staff are very welcoming, accommodating and easy to get a hold of. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Room has a large television and lots of natural light.
We booked this hotel as I am a Best Western Diamond member. I had enough points to stay two nights free. Check in was easy and the front desk guy was very helpful and nice. There isn't much parking there and we got there around 7:30pm. He said we could park in the bell building next door, Which turned out great as it was only $5 dollars. Only thing is that you can't go in and out as each time would be $5 dollars. The room was not bad. The bathroom looked like it had been updated and the room was standard. The mini fridge was massive. Biggest fridge in any hotel room that I have stayed in. Room was a bit dirty. My wife found a dirty Kleenex and chapstick beside the bed and the coffee had a hole punched in it and one was dirty. The breakfast was included which was nice. It had cereal, coffee, waffles, juice, water, youghart, eggs and sasuage. Other then that it was not a bad stay. it is a small hotel with no pool.
Watch out for potential room problems such as lighting not fixed, shower head maintenance, plus reading lights. The jet tub in the room I reserved wasn't functional. Those who need a healthier breakfast option will be disappointed.
Really wonderful experience and will recommend for future visits to all my feelings and relatives. The breakfast and rooms were really nice and clean, such a pleasent experience this stay was. All the best.
We recently stayed at this hotel. Although the hotel is dated and could use some work the friendly staff and their willingness to help allowed us to overlook the actual hotel. The evening staff in particular was helpful.
The room was visually appealing which I can respect, however the bed & bath linens were both worn down with rips and stains & of bad quality overall. The bed sheets seemed to have a lot of dust and spots on them, possibly unwashed - and the bathtub looked like it hadn't had a proper scrub ever. The price per night is a fair price, however I'd much rather spend the extra $50-100 to have better bed linens, sleep is the most important aspect when travelling.
We stayed here for two nights in late September. The hotel is right downtown, so the neighbourhood is a bit gritty. But we felt perfectly safe -- and the police station is only a block away. But Sudbury's downtown appears to have been hard hit by the economy/pandemic and there is not much open, including not many restaurants. We ate at the Laughing Buddha twice because we wanted something within walking distance, There is an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel, but we do not recommend it. The hotel does smells strongly of Indian food as a result. There is currently no daily room cleaning service. There is a complimentary breakfast but it could do with some more love and attention and staff presence. The juice machine broke down one day, they ran out of coffee cups, no fruit. speciality tea boxes were empty, etc. Staff were helpful when asked. But overall clean and comfortable. Free parking and wifi.
Do not stay here under any circumstances. Smoke smell throughout hotel. Elevator carpet reeked of smoke. Hall smelled of smoke . Cigarette burns on window sill of room. Cigarette ashes on all surfaces of room. Dog hairs on carpet and bed. Bathroom mirrors not cleaned as well as all other surfaces. Very indifferent staff, never a “good morning “ or “ how was your night.”
I wish I could give a better rating because Vina (manager) and Bob (front desk) are courteous and helpful (especially Bob). Unfortunately lack of staff means less clean. The positives, besides staff mentioned above: location, quiet room (504), and a park across the street for our dog. Parking is also convenient. Negatives: Truly needs updating and a deep clean. Bring your own pillows if you can.
Nice room and great free breakfast. Unfortunately we were very tired and only noticed the bath had not been cleaned at all when we were undressed and unpacked. Too tired to call the front desk. Mentioned it on our way out the next day to the lady on the front desk but she didn't seem interested at all. Apart from the dirty bath every thing else was ok. Would stay again but would check the bathroom before doing anything.
The hotel itself isn't bad. The guy at checkin could have been more helpful, he only asked for my last name, didn't say anything about parking/breakfast. Plus he said my room number out loud which front desk shouldn't do, for privacy reasons. Parking sucks!!! Only 30 spots available, for the whole hotel. Definitely NOT a family friendly hotel, nothing to do. The room was pretty decent. Neighborhood was shoddy, saw about a dozen homeless people. Thankful we only used this hotel as a place to sleep, check in by 6:30pm, gone by 8am the next day. One positive thing is we did have a good night sleep, didn't hear anyone else, from other rooms or in the hallway.
The room was not cleaned. There were cigarettes ashes on the floor. Understaffed. The main clerk tried his best. No vacuum, just sprayed a febreez type product. The smell was in the sheets. Loose power receptical that sparked then touched!
Was in Sudbury for medical purposes and booked this hotel. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk for at least 10 minutes. That should have been a warning. Checked in. Went to our room. First thing we noticed was the gross smell when we walked into the room. Then I pulled back the sheets on the bed and noticed blood stains on the sheets and comforter. Called the front desk to tell them. Was given 2 new sheets. Asked about a new comforter and was told that they only have one per bed and could not have another one. Took all the blankets and sheets off the bed and on the mattress cover was a huge blood stain and urine stain. Called front desk for new mattress cover and was told they do not have extras. Asked for a clean room and was told the hotel was full and we could not change rooms. The only thing they said was that the manager would be in at 7am and that I could file a complaint then. Now my mother and I had to share a bed because the one bed was so gross. We slept on top of the covers. Went down stairs at 8am and was told the manager was not in and was given the managers business card to contact. Was told they could not give me a discount or refund because I booked through Expedia. I will be contacting the manager and Expedia. Do not stay here!!!
My stay at the Best Western Hotel was excellent. I received a warm welcome by the friendly staff. The room was very clean and neat. The general manager was very friendly. Whenever I came back to Sudbury I love to stay in this Hotel. Thank you for your great service.
The service was terrible and the room was dirty. I am in a neck brace and the manager asked me if my husband beat me. Then I asked for more pillows and then he asked me if I would like him to fan me too. The room had hand prints on the head board, hand prints on the mirrors, dirty base boards, the fake plants were stained and there was garbage under the chair.
Room was very comfortable but needs USB ports. Don't forget your charger! Bed was very comfy with lots of pillows. Hot water was quick and good water pressure. Coffee maker in the room was convenient.
Stayed one night for work, staff was friendly, room was clean, and breakfast was great. Would recommend for someone travelling into town, that needed a place to lay their head. Close to restaurants and pubs in the downtown area
This hotel is horrible from the minute you pull up. There is only approx 20 parking spots and while I was there a bus was taking up at least 5 of them. The hotel smells old and musty. It is extremely outdated. Didn't feel safe whatsoever as there's homeless people and crack heads begging for money all over. Gotta make sure to never book non-refundable rates because even with stains all over the bed you aren't getting any money back. I ended up leaving after 1 night and went to a Hilton where even though it was abit dated it didn't smell, it was clean and it felt safe.
Stayed here for 2 weeks. Staff is kind and friendly. Great location. Had an issue the first night with the neighbors smoking and the smoke getting into my room through a common door. Reported it and the receptionist was really quick and happy to move me to a new room. Overall great service.
upon check in, the receptionist was very professional and informative she told me about the area as well as the restaurants nearby. They also have a restaurant on premises and I really enjoyed the food there. My room was neat and clean! Everything was in working order! Breakfast was excellent! At check out they asked how my stay was! I told them 10/10 I certainly will go back and recommend to friends and family!
Hotel is in a horrible location. Did not feel safe leaving my vehicle in parking lot. Homeless people standing outside of hotel doors. Hotel had an unpleasant smell of marijuana, cigarettes, and alcohol. Bathroom sink was falling apart. Trim on shower was falling apart. Body hair on towels and in tub. Rust/green build up on shower head. Ash/dirt on duvet cover. Cracks in wall and ceiling. Staff friendly but not professional.
When I walked into the lobby I was greeted by Veena, who said, "Jay! You're back, great to see you!" I asked how she knew who I was, she shared she knew me from previous stays. That's the friendly service I've always received here <3
My wife and I stay here all the time because we love it here. The rooms are always clean and in proper order and the staff are all amazing and go out of their way to help. We have never had a problem staying here!!
Clean environments to stay and the stuff is very polite and helpful. The room was clean, Tv working and washroom was clean. You cant miss it two minute walk from the bus stop. Breakfast early 7am- 9am.
I stay at this Best Western Hotel every time I am in Sudbury. The staff are all wonderful, and the owner is always smiling, and always goes out of her way to be helpful and accommodating. It's per friendly as well and has lots of parking. The rooms are always clean and I have never had an issue once. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who needs a place to stay when visiting Sudbury.
It's a 5 stars hotel and a 5 stars room and a 5 stars service. Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, room was clean and decor was great. Overall had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back again. the general manager Vina was great and professional. All questions that were asked were answered. very satisfied. Also, I do recommend everyone in the town and out of the town to visit this hotel.
We arrived quite late at this hotel after a long drive from Thunder Bay. I did not look at the reviews on line before we went in to see about checking in and wished that I had. The young man working night shift was inexperienced and somewhat overwhelmed. He had many problems with the check in process and had to call a manger at home to help. He was very polite and apologetic but when it's after midnight and you arrive after driving 14 hours in terrible conditions it's hard to be patient but my husband was. The lad really didn't know much about hotel policy- he said the parking was an extra $10- it's across the street beside a park that sadly has a homeless tent city even in bitter cold snowy winter! He then found out after talking on the phone with the manager there was no extra charge- nice, seeing as we had to lug our belongings across the snowy slippery street! Since the check in took about an hour my husband requested a late check out and we were told yes they would accommodate this request- the lad asked the manager for approval during his lengthy phone call for help. So, we get up to the room and the 2 key cards don't open the door!! My husband goes back down to get cards that work. Meanwhile, I'm standing out in the hall dying to pee because I just drove through a snow storm with no where to stop because it's a pandemic and everything is closed!! Husband returns with card key and yes- it worked and the door opens!! Morning comes and I'm in no rush as we have late check out up to 3pm according to the young lad the night before. Phone rings in the room at 9am- it's the day manager wanting to know if we're staying another night and if not check out is 11am. My husband informed her that we had been promised late check out to which she said we had till 12pm to be checked out or pay for another day- rudely stated. I should say that the sheets were shabby and well used. The bath towels were really scratchy and the heating unit squealed awfully making it hard to sleep. The tv was large but there was a blown speaker causing the speech to sound broken on tv programs. When we went to the front desk to check out the woman working had absolutely no interest in knowing how our experience was and as we attempted to speak with her she answered the phone and began speaking to whomever called. So rude!! I have stayed in 10 hotels in the last 2 weeks due to a trip from Ontario to BC and back by car for a family emergency. THIS is the only hotel that gets my plug for crappiest hotel from Ontario to BC!! I will never stay here again!!!
Service is great, rooms are clean and well appointed. Staff was very helpful and courteous and always willing to go above and beyond for the care of the guest. We always like to check in early and there's no issaue, breakfast is plentyful, coffee is always tasty.
Very clean, comfortable room. Convenient location. Best was the helpful service! We left behind a newly purchased coat, but only realized it almost two weeks after staying there. We realized that we'd left it there because it was the rare hotel room with an actual clothes cabinet, instead of simply an open rack with hangers. Vina, the manager, immediately located our coat, boxed it up for us, and waited patiently for another two weeks while UPS repeatedly bungled the pick-up. Thanks to Vina and the other friendly staff!
Recently stayed at Best Western Downtown. It was amazing experience. Rooms are nice and clean. Showers are well maintained and all the equipment function well. Customer service is warm and welcoming. Must visit once and feel for yourself.
The personal touch is outstanding. After almost two years away when I exited the elevator the next morning vena was there and remembered me right away. Just a nice feeling when the owner of a major hotel remembers her repeat customers
This hotel is very dated and requires full renovation. There was a musty smell as well as tobacco smell in hallway. The rooms were also very dated and had an odour. As for the person who greeted us he was very nice and helpful
I've come to expect a certain standard of Best Western hotels. They're usually clean, decent size for their location, etc. That expectation was not met at this location. In fact, far below it. The room was small. Granted, it's a "downtown" location. But we're not talking about land expensive Toronto. We're talking about a sleepy provincial "town"... Parking too, was precious! I fortunately have the skill to parallel park in Manhattan. Otherwise, I would have a hard time keeping my car in the designated 1-car spot. In fact, some other cars ended up taking up two car spot. Breakfast was the lowest of the low. So this is still the tail end of the pandemic. It's up to the individual establishment to choose what to offer as "modified" breakfast. I can sense some motels really push that definition towards the low cost end. But this particular motel really exceed them all. What's for breakfast? 2 kind of power bars! That's all. No juice. No fruit. No pastry. Nothing else! Some guests thought it was because it's close to the end of the breakfast hour. But I tracked down the front desk person, she confirmed what we saw was what they had all morning! There're a lot of other choices in Sudbury. I'd suggest you all look elsewhere.
My stay here was comfortable and felt very welcoming! I recommend your stay. It's located in a great area! Wonderful staff & helpful. Once you need extra of something it's provided quickly! Even has a fridge & microwave in room.
Great hotel, great staff, professional and courteous. Clean rooms, internet worked well. It is nice to have free parking as well. Continental breakfast was ok. Very convenient with shopping and restaurants around.
I loved my stay at the Best Western downtown Sudbury, it was a convenient location, close to the arena, stores, bars and restaurants. The room were nicely furnished, and check in and out was a breeze.
Nice and comfortable stay, elegantly designed felt like home. After a 6 hours of drive the mattress at the hotel put us to sleep like a baby.Nice and clean hotel, the person at the desk was no kind nice and helpful.
I've been visiting Sudbury a lot and this was by far the best experience I've had. A++ room service , cleanliness, friendliness and amenities. The food was delicious especially the breakfast. Location is prime as well. Top marks , no complaints
My husband and I stayed here for one night to break up the driving on a recent roadtrip. It has serious Overlook Hotel vibes. Very creepy first impressions. We were unsure of the parking situation, so my husband waited in the car while I went into the lobby to ask. There was no staff person at the desk, so I was alone at night with a random stranger in the lobby until a staff member eventually came along. After checking in, we were directed to park across the street in a dark parking lot. Came back in with our luggage which we had to pick up to avoid the sea of cigarette butts littering the main entrance to the hotel lobby. In all seriousness, I would not recommend this place for solo travelers. Having my husband with me made it kind of a funny adventure to laugh about. Neither of us would have wanted to be alone in that place. In the daytime it is slightly less horrifying. That said, I definitely would not return.
bad customer service smell in the lobby and the room and the charge me more and refuse to give me the receipt details. The supervisor did not want to listen to me. The over charge me. The receptionist refuse to let my husband use the lobby washroom.
The staff is patient and helpful, excellent housekeeping service. Everything is well maintained.....with customer's comfort kept at the highest priority. The rooms are highly spacious with soft and cozy beds, hospital standard cleanliness of bathrooms , Would definitely visit again !!!
After staying at this hotel for many years for both business and pleasure I will not be back. The rooms were dirty and with stains on the carpet ...disgusting. I could not believe ho dirty the room was.
All ok except: filthy garbage strewn parking lot where we were blocked in by another vehicle in the morning at check out; smell of cigarette smoke from other rooms surrounding us; heard person in next room snoring while trying to sleep; covid protocols not practiced during breakfast which was a buffet with food exposed to everyone who passed and picked up items, then put them back -- we skipped breakfast there and incurring cost to go elsewhere; front desk check out woman who claimed to be manager told me my charge for the previous night had not gone through when in fact it had and she charged me an extra ten dollars without consent -- when I questioned her about it she initially lied then confessed when I demanded the credit card receipts which she had thrown in the garbage; really disgraceful! The check in gentlemen were really good!
If you want to be paying hotel rates for motel service then this is your place. There was previous guests hair in my bathtub and everything you asked the staff was an argument. The lobby had an odour and the room wasn't much better. Stay elsewhere
I needed a place to stay with my family and the staff here made it absolutely amazing and enjoyable with everything! The front desk lady was such a great help with everything and I would say this is hands down a great family friendly hotel for everyone!
Hotel was so good and memorable, because of staff they helped me lot in every situation when i needed them and house keeping was also very helpful , I enjoyed there i will recommend this hotel to all my friends and known kne to stay there
The hotel is centrally located, although that may not be a plus in Sudbury. Nicer hotels are located in the Northern part of town. The downtown area is overrun by homeless and drug addicts who tend to wonder all over the place, including the hotel lobby. When arriving you can pull over by the front door on Minto St. or in a very narrow one-way enclosed driveway. Parking is free across the street in an open parking lot. The hotel shows a few remnants of the long-gone era. Apparently, prime-ministers used to stay here, in what is now called Presidential suite (why not Prime-minister suite?). We stayed in room 302 with two queen beds with very nice fluffy bedding. Room was facing the parking lot and Minto St. Despite it, it is pretty quiet. Windows don't open. There is a pretty loud window AC unit. The shower had very good pressure. Wifi was slow at 12Mbps. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. They severely cut it down to coffee, a few bananas, juice boxes, bottles of water and store-bought mini-muffins. All in the name of COVID. Luckily, there is a Tim Hortons a block away.
A pretty average downtown business hotel. Clean, quiet neighborhood but rooms on the top floor (5th floor) suffer from noise created by air conditioning equipment up on the roof of the building. Great location if you are doing business downtown, not a particularly good location for tourists - the park across the street is full of feral people, homeless people sleeping rough, all the local winos & drug addicts, etc. Breakfast consisted of a juice box & granola bar in a paper bag - not at all impressed, even with the breakfast room closed due to COVID they could have done a lot better than this... like, some coffee, maybe?
My favourite hotel when I travel to Sudbury for business. Great downtown location close to my favourite restaurants and bars for unwinding in the evening. Clean comfortable rooms And friendly service. Nice breakfast buffet in the morning.
The hotel was very clean and well maintained. It was very quiet and easy to get a good nights rest. Staff is very friendly, and make sure you are taken care of. Will definitely stay at this location again. Two thumbs up!
Excellent service. Great comfortable King bed. Massive room and TV. Free parking. The host Veena was exceptionally accommodating, and helped with all my needs – the Best Westerner needs to cloner her! I use lots of hotels for work and lots of BW, this one stands out!
I enjoyed staying in the hotel as it is in the downtown of Sudbury and is located in the heart of the city. Quite good and docent price. We enjoyed our stay and we will come back for sure. personnel of the hotel were really friendly.
How do I even start? My room was spotless and well maintained Check-in was quick and easy thank to the concierge. And then there's VINA, she is heaven sent...I've been to this hotel only twice so far and she's made me feel welcome and comfortable beyond my expectations. I would recommend this hotel over all the rest in Sudbury.
This will be the last time I will stay here. Drug addicts are being housed in this hotel and probably using. There is yelling and screaming. Its bad enough you have to park off property and the neighborhood is sketchy at best but I was seriously concerned for my safety. Next visit to Sudbury, avoiding downtown.
Beds in the room are very comfortable . Enjoyed my time spent at the property. They are taking all the precautions during covid Hotel is located in the middle of the city. Vinay at frontdesk is Very Caring
Parking could be an issue if the hotel is sold out but more so, if you plan to spend time inside watching TV (like i did because of covid - was there for medical appointments), not the place to do so. There is no on TV guide, the channels don't line up with the online (tvtv.ca) guide and the TV's are hospitality purchases so you can't change inputs and project your laptop or tablet through them.....not to mention, 30 channels, 1/3rd french and 1/3rd sports playing the same game/sport. 4 kids channels. Nice hotel but without them rectifiying the TV situation, I will not be staying there again
I usually love a best western, I stayed there 4 nights ago and it was awful. Couple fighting from 9pm-12:45am before they finally were kicked out. It was intense we are travelling for medical reasons. No discount on the room, a small apology from the front desk person the next day, no one could give me answers when the fight was happening just they were handling it, almost 4 hours of “handling”. okay not there fault but maybe vet who you rent too and not put kids beside them. when your kid who is 10 doesn't sleep all night because there afraid it was heartbreaking. Okay now the breakfast option, again no breakfast due to covid but advertised a grab and go option I was told muffins, juice maybe bagels etc No we got a kids juice box, bottle of water and kids applesauce? How is this considered a breakfast So $140 for an awful party place with an awful “breakfast” that would leave even a toddler hungry, keep in mind that they advertise and tell you on the phone they have breakfast items like muffins and other takeaway options you pick. This is no picking the photo is what you got for 2 adults and 1 kid Will not stay here again, avoid like the plague It's also in a bad neighborhood and people constantly asking for money and cigarettes. I did not feel safe or any warm welcoming stay I usually receive at a best western.
I usually chose this hotel to stay in Sudbury while on a business visit. The staff employed at this location is very friendly and welcoming. They took every possible measure to follow COVID policies and procedures. I wish this crew good luck for their future and hope to visit again soon.
The room has an excellent shower and the air conditioner/heater is top notch. Love the staff at this location and usually the breakfast is really awesome. Pre covid. Tv and internet is fast, complimentary coffee is good
In summary this is not a hotel, would barely consider it a motel. There are 2 people for the entire hotel trying to do everything from front desk work to cleaning to maintenance and you can imagine that nothing works. I always had to ask for clean towels and to have my room vaccumed and sheets changed once a week. Another thing that was really difficult for me was there is NO laundary machine!! which "hotel" does not offer a laundary machine for the guests? Also, there are very weird and shady people that kept coming and going during my stay there. There was once police who came to arrest one of the guests. Another time, I woke up at 3AM as a crazy guest decided to scream in the holeway. The toilet got clogged for some reason and they did not do anything about it for 2 days since they dont have maintenance staff in the hotel. All they suggested was for to move to another room, which is very customer oriented. I am glad to move out . This is by far one of the worst hotels I have been in. Will NOT go back even if they pay me to.
The hotel staff was tremendously helpful and I had an overall great stay. Even during this pandemic, the best western staff make sure your experience isn't limited. I would recommend to anyone that is in the sudbury area.
I booked the large suite and was woken up at 4 am to water pouring in from the room above. Front desk would not do anything and had to wait 3 hours until 7 am when the manager arrived. Front desk would not come up nor would they call the manager
Staff was friendly hotel was clean room was clean decor was great overall had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back again the gentleman that checked us in was wonderful the general manager was great all questions that were asked were answered no problems very satisfied
Every so often I stay at the Best Western in Sudbury and rent the King Presidential Suite. This room is large, extremely comfortable and has everything you need to make your stay a good one. Check in and check out are always quick as front desk staff are always there and friendly. I have stayed at other Sudbury Hotels in the past but will continue to choose Best Western for all future stays. Hotel was extremely clean as well.
Was in town for business and downtown Sudbury was the location. The hotel came recommended by a colleague and it did not dissapoint. The hotel was clean and practiced social distancing enough that I felt safe. The parking was convenient for downtown. If your coming to Sudbury for business or elsewise and would like to experience the downtown area - I highly recommend this establishment.
I won't comment on the breakfast or bagged breakfast because it's a COVID issue - just be prepared to walk to Tim's for a real breakfast! The hotel is a typical downtown hotel - so if you are travelling with family be prepared to encounter a lot of homeless people around the hotel. The parking is limited to a very small tight lot behind the hotel as well as a larger public lot across the street. We had problems getting all the lights to work in the room but the room itself was decent. We had to seek out information about the neighbourhood and activities as there was very little information in the hotel room itself. It is centrally located close to many activities.
Excellent experience to stay in this Hotel at a good price. The staff was helpful and hotel is very clean. Food is delicious as well. I would recommend this to anyone travelling for vacation. Enjoy your trip.
Excellent stay and always safety in mind service given the COVID-19 challenges. Although the restaurant was not available, there were enough options close by to make our stay. It was a great central venue for Sudbury to provide walking access to the downtown while easy driving access to the many local scenic attractions.
I am very impressed with the service of the staff. Very helpful and friendly at all times. Take the customer service seriously and make sure that all guests feel safe and comfortable during the COVID situation. Will always be my first choice for a hotel in Sudbury. Thank you Bob and Vina.
Excellent service upon registering and checking out. Room was very comfortable. The bed provided a relaxing sleep. I would recommend this hotel to any visitors to Sudbury looking for an excellent quality hotel in the downtown Sudbury.
Trip was awesome i love the service specially the manager Vina gave us a great discount and great service i love to stay again in the hotel the restaurant was also good and food was best i love to stay again
Amidst of the pandemic, best western served an excellent experience of stay. Express check in and check out services were spot on. Room were orderly and clean. Ambience has good vibes. Will definitely visit again! Cheers!!
My business trip was on a tight schedule. First time in Sudbury I needed lot more than just GPS to find my way through work and leisure. The team at best western specially Ms. Vina were tremendous being said that not only they accommodated my special requests but went out of the way to make sure that I am get the best option available from convenience of my room. I literally didn't need to move an inch and everything from rentals to restaurant reservations were taken care upon request. Thank you so much Best western Sudbury team.
Great downtown location. Very Helpful staff and Beds and rooms were so clean as compared to other hotels.Breakfast is Free and Amazing.Perfect Housekeeping and good custmour servise and got free stay after Two visits. Thanks for the great stay.Overall Perfect Hotel With great prices. Great custmour service and perfect Housekeeping
I stayed overnight in the Best Western in Sudbury for a concert. The room was small but clean. I ended up forgetting my iPad at the hotel and Vina at the front desk was AMAZING. she went above and beyond to ensure this was returned to me safely. I am very grateful.
The hotel was centrally located and near the bus terminal. Restaurants were in walking distance. The staff were friendly and professional. The trip was pleasent and productive. It helped that no taxis were needed.
This was my third time at this location and that's always it was very comfortable. The last two trips I was here for business and then this time it was my pleasure. The breakfast is always nice and fresh and the staff are extremely courteous and accommodating.
Great downtown location...helpful genuinely caring staff....very clean rooms and comfy beds! The food from the restaurant smelt amazing... was sorry to have another commitment for dinner. Next time for sure! Thanks for the great stay.
I stayed at this hotel for a week for work. There was some miscommunication on a couple of instances which shouldn't have happened. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was decent, the only comment I have is that the hot portion (sausages and eggs) could have been changed up if possible to give more variety. Overall it was an ok stay.
This hotel is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. The rooms were updated several years ago, not 'high-class' but still looking good. Beds are comfortable, rooms are quiet. I've stayed here many times and will continue to come back. Walking distance to everything in downtown.
I always rent at the Best Western Downtown Sudbury due to the fact of the hotels cleanliness, service, spacious rooms and always a reasonable rate. Check in and check out are quick and the General Manager Vina is always a pleasure to speak to.
A bit dated but if you need to stay downtown, the location works. The area looks sketchy but it is fine. rooms are clean and functional. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is decent. I prefer the Radisson but this is good.
The location of the Best Western Downtown Sudbury was excellent in proximity of many venues. The staff at the Best Western Hotel were very inviting, courteous and helpful. The room was very clean. My sleep was very good with comfortable sleeping.
I would like to thank the amazing staff at BW Sudbury, ON for their generosity and commitment to great customer service! My BFs band was playing the weekend and we were only going to stay the Friday night, but when we were greeted with an upgrade and great price for our first night and ventured to our King room, we absolutely had to stay another night! Fabulous room, helpful friendly staff, great breakfast! What more could you ask for? Although, you may wanna fix the Jets in the jacuzzi tub as they weren't working....other than that I have no complaints. Thank you again BW!
The area seemed pretty sketchy, but it was okay. Seemed expensive for what it was. The food in the attached restaurant was good, but language barriers made it difficult to order and get what we wanted.
The front service was not friendly ask for all kinds of deposits plus make u pay for your room the night before. Our room was dirty. I know this weird but our view was the roof lol but not a friendly place. A lot of guess smell like pot really bad.
very clean hotel and the rooms very clean, service desk staff on arrival was a welcoming smile, nice and tidy at check-in,just a little disapointment being taj food would have like american type reataurant, would I stay again YES
We stopped here on our vacation. We always try to follow the Best Western brand as we have come to trust the quality. This facility however was not high on the list. The lobby was clean and so were the rooms and breakfast area. The young man who checked us in however seemed bored to death and we felt like we were intruding rather than welcome.
The hotel is situated in central city, places at the parking are too small, staff don t care about guests, the fan of the heating doesn t stop during all the night (I had to use ear plug by night) even if I reported that to the staff nothing was done (during my stay of 4 days), breakfastt too poor, towels are so wear and bad and not replaced all each day. It s my second stay at this hotel this year, and was similar to the first one. For sure will never stay there in future
The serves was good, the room was clean and comfy beds. My complaint is, there was no water in the vending machine (sold out) not restocked (we stayed for three nights) In Sudbury vegan options where everywhere (great to see) but the breakfast offered at the hotel had no milk alternatives and besides bread and apples there was nothing for my family to eat. Hopefully they review this and start to offer more for plantbased people and people with allergies. At the very least over a milk alternative.
We stayed at the BW for 2 nights. Finding the entrance to the hotel was confusing. Although the address is on Larch St. the entrance is actually on Minto. The windows of the lobby need to be cleaned, they look dirty and give the impression that management doesn't care. There are no washrooms off the lobby area, while waiting to be checked in my husband was directed to the staff washroom. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly, pleasant and professional. Our room and bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished. Breakfast was tasty with hot and cold choices. Parking was directly across the street from the hotel. We were disappointed on day 2 when we returned to our room at approx 4PM. Our room had not been cleaned which was upsetting as we were tired after being to a workshop and then shopping and really wanted to relax in our room and have a coffee/tea. While waiting for our room to be made up we went to a coffee shop a few blocks away. There is no place to get coffee/tea in the lobby. Once we were back in our room we were surprised to realize that we could hear everything the person in the adjoining room was saying during his business call. As the call was on speaker phone we could also hear the other person's responses. Overall there were good and not so good things about this hotel. Not sure if we would return to this BW again.
Bed sheets were badly stained and also had magic marker / ball point pen marks on them. Comforter was shredded. This was covered up with a sheet. Expected much better from Best Western. And located in a sketchy part of town.
Literally the only thing I could possibly say was a negative about our stay, was that the reading lights didn't work. We were met with friendly staff at every turn. The room was immaculate, and the continental breakfast was amazing. As someone who has to eat gluten free for health reasons, it was nice to find options I could eat! The bed was the perfect mix of softness to allow you to relax and firmness so you weren't stuck needing help to get out of it. I have severe social anxiety and sleeping away from home is always difficult for me. I can honestly say that this was the best night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel. It's perfectly located a short walk from the downtown mall and the bus terminal, so you can literally go anywhere in the city. We only stayed for one night, but I will most definitely be staying there again on our next trip down to visit our son. I definitely recommend a stay here if you're in town!
At the urgency of my friends and me ,they helped us like an angel from the cold night. They just only had one room left and they helped us checking faster. Very nice service also from the front desk .
Long story short I had booked 2 rooms but had a change in due not needing the 2 room chose to stay in one room together so I had changed the rooms to a bigger room but I was charged for all 3 rooms. I would understand being charged for the 2 rooms if I never stayed at the hotel at all but I changed rooms I wasn't in n was charged for all 3 n the manager would not do a thing about it so one nights stay cost me over 600$ the front desk employees are friendly but the manager to say that their hands where tied was bull. I had changed rooms b4 n never had this issue. There for I will never stay at this hotel again. Where I have stayed multiple times a year.
We took our grand daughter to Sudbury to go to Science North and Dynamic Earth. We wanted to stay in a clean, affordable downtown hotel so that we could walk to the parks and shopping areas. We also wanted breakfast in the mornings. This hotel had all of that, plus a microwave and fridge which worked perfectly. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. It is a fairly old hotel (1976) which has undergone significant renovations and upgrading. Rooms, beds and pillows new, fresh and comfortable. Tub drain certainly needed attention. They sent someone right away who tried to fix it, but even he agreed that it needed a bigger plumbing job. He was efficient, friendly and appropriate. Has worked for the hotel for 12 years. All in all a very good experience. Local restaurants close very early during the week.
We were in room 508 for this one which overlooked the main Larch Street and we could see the car parked in the free parking opposite the hotel. The room was fine, well presented and clean. Bed comfy and usual free Wi-Fi in the hotel. We did have breakfast which was rather minimal and did not stay hot too long, but it was edible. All in all a nice stay.
We could not believe the limited parking downtown Sudbury for the Best western. Let's see I think there is maybe 40 small parking spaces altogether if that. If you have a big truck forget it. There is also s $100 dollar deposit on your stay added to your bill. Not impressed as there is nothing there. Also, there is only 37 cheap channels on the tv! No added movie and specialty channels. How cheap!! Will not stay here again ever!!
The thing I'm angry about is I got back to my room after a long hot day working outdoors and the door was open. I quickly checked to make sure nothing was taken and then called the front desk. I was told housekeeping routinely leaves doors open when customers have checked out. I explained that I was on the second night of a 2 night stay and obviously hadn't checked out, as all my personal items were there. I'm not happy about this glaring mistake by hotel staff. I stay on the road over 100 nights a year and this has NEVER happened to me before! I won't stay anywhere that can't guarantee me a reasonable level of privacy and security. Best Western, you should thank your lucky stars that nothing of mine is missing, but this particular hotel will not get a second chance at my business.
Good rooms. Stayed for a few nights while taking care of business in Sudbury. Walking distance to restaurants and some shopping. Staff was great and accommodating. Would likely stay there again on next trip. Rooms fairly priced
We were in town for a family reunion. This BW is situated right by the Sudbury Police Station downtown. The roims were comfortable and adequaye. Seemed to be a lot of new staff on board. Overall would rate the experience at a 3.5.
My plane was changed and I requested a date change to one night earlier and they rejected that. The manager could have accepted my request for a changing date. I paid 119$ cancellation fee because I had booked the room from booking.com Poor customer service.
Got an upgraded king size room cheaper than the run down suburban Comfort Inn. New carpets, furniture and mattresses. Included breakfast. Close to some good local restaurants. Would stay there again...
everything good would like better shower head pressure.Otherwise very good motel. Staff very friendly and help full.Would stay again and would recommend hotel 100 percent if had better showering experiance.
We had a room with king bed and the fitted sheet were crunchy and filthy. They had no other fitted sheets clean and so moved us to another room with 2 queen beds one which had soiled sheets. Provided 15% discount for the hassle. Really! Never staying here again!!!
was very good, staff and the manager ,vina were outstanding, courteous, breakfast was excellent. we had indian food in the restaurant was very good, enjoyed it. all the amenities were close by and we had no problem reaching them
Spent 2 nites here and we were disappointed. There is a tiny cramped parking lot next to the hotel and a small parking lot across the street. Housekeeping took our dirty towels and some clean towels and did not replace them so we had to get more towels from the front desk. The breakfast was disappointing. The hot water dispenser was cold water. There was no attendant at breakfast so again we had to go to the front desk. There was only one person taking care of it all. The guy at the front desk. There is one ice machine for all the floors and it is located on the fourth floor. Very inconvenient. There is not a 24 hour coffee station in the lobby. The in-room coffee pot only makes very small cups of coffee. The rooms are expensive for the amenities here . There are not enough electrical outlets in the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.
I recently visited Sudbury, Ontario. I stayed at Best Western in downtown Sudbury. It is a very good property at a very competitive price. I had a very good experience right from check in to check out. Staff was very cooperative, helpful and courteous. Food was good, rooms amply spacious with all basic facilities, location wise its also good. I would like to thank manager, Ms Veena, who was always there to help in case of any problem. Would definitely book the same property whenever I visit Sudbury again.
The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Sudbury with all amenities within walking distance. The room were clean and inviting and the staff were extremely friendly. We had a minor issue that was promptly corrected.
Spent one night here enroute to Stratford. Hotel was billed as "newly renovated". Well, maybe the lobby! We were put in a room that had not been cleaned -- stained sheets, no towels. The front desk clerk said that housekeeping had been "slacking off". The next room was clean, but musty and showed little care. The rod to open the drapes was laying on the floor and, obviously, no one cared to put it back on its hook. In the morning, the lone employee managed breakfast and check outs. I wonder if she was also "housekeeping". Not a place I would stay again or recommend.
No service, very expensive for what you get, very poor breakfast, not meat, watery eggs, not very clean, bathtub dirty, noisy all night, do not bring pet to expensive per night. Even when complained at check out they had nothing to say.
I found the place because I am a BW member. I needed a place to stay for a night on a long trip and wasn't I would make it to the next town in time to eat at a sensible hour. The only other place where I had stayed in Sudbury was booked. The location is downtown, which I didn't particularly need on this trip, but was useful for finding food within walking distance. I don't recall any signs on the street indicating the place to me. As another reviewer pointed out, the smell of the restaurant permeated the property. This is neither here nor there for me, but I am sure of interest to others. I noticed some damage on the ceiling tiles, but didn't say anything. I have found the beds in some other BWs to be much more comfortable. I didn't experience any problems, per se, but everything was OK. No more, no less. If I were passing through again, I would probably look for another hotel, but by no means would I say to avoid at all costs.
I travel a bit for work so I look forward to a good night sleep, and you'll get one with BW. I would recommend this best western because of the room cleanliness, and bed quality. Location is great as it's downtown close to a number of shops/stores.
Room decor was nice and was clean. There often is no one at the front desk. They have a pager there, but you have to wait for the person. We didn't get any towels the one night, called the desk and they didn't bring them after saying they would. Also, there is an Indian Restaurant in this hotel so the smell of the food is permanently in the lobby. I am very sensitive to smells and stale Indian spices was more than I could handle first thing in the morning.
I called a week before for a reservation. Once i got there they raised the price of the room by $30!! We had to argue to get the price as reserved. Hey he clerk was mad at us for arguing! The room was dusty, and dirty sheets. Pubbies on a towel! I washed the bed headboard sine it was full of whatever! Will never go there again. Unfriendly clerk and dirty place all around!!
Had a good experience here. Downtown location is close to restaurants, bars, entertainment (Town House Pub has great live music). Breakfast good. Room fine. Wifi fine although you had to reconnect once per day. Room had a good little coffee maker but there was no tea. Bathroom shower curtain smelled. Staff fixed that promptly. Bed comfortable. Room clean other than the shower curtain.
I'm finding myself a bit stumped on how to describe this experience. "Fine" is about as far as I want to commit myself. The lobby looked fine, very unassuming and low-key. Check in was smooth enough, The room was mint, and everything worked fine. So, fine. But some of the usual missteps, which are common to most hotels, were apparent. Doors are paper thin, and people in the hall having a conversation are somehow people in your room having a conversation. Why o why do hotels not invest in soundproof doors? The bed was a bit too soft for my liking, and the room temperature was difficult to set. (And why are temperature settings in Canadian hotels always in F?) Blackout blinds did not close fully (and I tried every which way). The continental breakfast was fine, too (except for the coffee -- not sure what continent it was from, but not from one on this earth). Free parking. A pleasant stay and I'd probably stay there again. Fine works.
Our one night stay was good. The breakfast was comparable to that of the Hampton Inn. We were on the 4th floor and it was fine and very quiet. There was a new fridge, new microwave and good sized TV. We didnt use the pool. It was close to Cambrian College so that was good.
This is my second visit to the Best Western in Sudbury. Again, the location exceeded my expectations. Great breakfast, the rooms are maintained well and the staff are attentive to customer needs. I landed early and the lady at the front desk was kind enough to let me check in early, very helpful after a long journey. Looking forward to my next visit.
The Hotel boasts newly renovated. The shower presssure was great. The staff were friendly. Would be nice if they could use fitted sheets for the bottem sheet. Also, the mirror mounted to the bathroom was so speckled from the past where people brushed their teeth. The most annoying was the constant loud humming of the AC which needs to be repaired. Elevator mirrors were streeked from cleaner, need to be buffed. It is a place to lay your head but hardly measures up to other Best Westerns.
For the 1 night it was okey. Had a very hard time to park my Ford pick up truck. Other then that it was clean and bed was comfortable. Great water preacher. Television channels okey. Wifi was fast and easy to log in.
The breakfast had good variety and the customer service was on par. What sold it for me was the fact that the general manager was willing to give us a good rate for our stay for booking more than one room.
Came in town for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and its amenities. Wonderful continental breakfast in the morning that included delicious waffles and eggs as well as a very comfortable bed for a relaxing sleep. Very friendly staff!
Another stay at this hotel and we once again left happy. The breakfast was great, and the staff is always very helpful. The rooms were nice and clean, definitely one of the better hotels in the Sudbury region.
Right from the time we arrived it was a bad experience. Parking lot was icy (not salted). Front desk clerk had minimal knowledge of his job. Didn't know what time breakfast service was available, didn't seem very knowledgeable at all. Heard noises from the neighbouring room until approx midnight
Hotel smells like Indian food it's overwhelming because of the restaurant attached to hotel. Walls paper thin, heating very noisy, stained bedsheets pubes on shower curtain. No modern bedside connections ie USB or even standard plus to charge our phones etc.
Clean rooms, Beds were very comfortable, frienedly staff.. Parking is not the greatest..Travelled for a DR. appointement, easy acess to downtown. Overall experience was good. I would stay there again.
First problem is that the entrance is nNOT at the address. It actually is around the corner. I drove around 3 times before someone told me how to get to it. The address is a restaurant that apparently was part of the hotel at one time. There is a lot across the street for parking as well as one in a courtyard next to the entrance, which is where we ended up. The cours is best if you have amll vehicles as there isn't much room to turn aroundif you have a miniven-sized vehicle. The entrance is very steep, which is a hassle if you are using a wheelchair or scooter. Lobby was nice and clerk helpful. The breakfast was adequate, but that area is only accessible by climbing steps, which was a problem for my wife. She did manage to make it, but steps are hard for her. If I had known of this I might have stayed elsewhere. Also, the hotel apparently has only 1 luggage cart, so if you several bags you have to wait until someone brings it back to the lobby. This is an old hotel that needs upgrading. The room was okay, but there were no handrails or shower chair in the tub area. All in all, okay for the able-bodied, not so much for the handicapped.
Excellent location to choose in Sudbury. Centrally located in downtown. Warm and hospitable staff, loved the breakfast and the room cleanliness. Ample parking available inspite if being in downtown Sudbury.
Amazing bed great staff great breakfast. Spent valentines day and 2 more. Loved the bed so comfy huge window lots of snow to watch. In the downtown area indian restuarant attached really good buffet. Breakfast was fresh hot and good. Much better time than expected. Def coming back here.
Everything was very good. Guest service was excellent. Cleanliness was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very delicious. Big area for parking of car. It is near transit terminal in sudbury.
Hotel was nice but I found the rooms a little small from other Best Westerns with stayed at. Front desk staff was polite and check in with quick although the key they gave us would not open our door and I had to go back down a couple times until I finally got a key that would open our door. Room was comfortable all those small bed very comfortable and I love the pillows. Parking there's not a lot of parking and it's across the street. It is free parking but I wonder what happens when there's more than 14 cars. Continental breakfast was decent. I would stay here again.
Nice & warm rooms, great location - right in the downtown. Excellent staff at the front desk. It was a buisness trip, had a quite comfortable stay.Would recommend this place in Sudbury. Value for the amount booked in.
Hotel looks dated and forgotten, towels had stains, room had holes in the walls, there's no central light in the room so you have to go around turning on and off all the lamps around the room, I used the lotion in the bathroom and once it was done I threw it in the garbage but on the next day staff had taken the same empty lotion bottle and placed it back on the sink counter still empty, internet didn't allow me to use WhatsApp or make FaceTime calls with my family, breakfast options were very narrow and when I went to make my own waffle the batter that came out of the machine was clearly old looking like a dark brown greenish liquid, ended up eating eggs and sausages even though the sausages were either uncooked or completely black, it's also located in a sketchy area of the city, I went to a Tim Hortons nearby and was scared for my life. Do not recommend.
It was very relaxing experience. Staff was very Polite and friendly and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. They checked us in very quick. Rooms were ready and very clean. Internet was fast so I could work there as well.
If you want to be downtown this is the right hotel. There are buses running regularly so there is a bit of noise from them. There is also a homeless shelter nearby so there are homeless people in the area but we never felt uneasy. The hotel is comfortable and the hotel parking is across the street. The breakfast was okay and the internet works quickly.
Everything there for comfort. Near everything we stay the night of Hockey Tournament. Busy downtown,a lot of children. We booked the last room. Good breakfast, plenty of food, and good coffee. Very clean. Large TV very modern. We went to Indian restaurant next door from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay in Sudbury.
Best location in downtown, flexible & proficient staff and the Value for money hotel. Would recommend this place to stay in Sudbury even if its just a night. Convenient parking and great proximity to all the facilities nearby.
Specially i would like to tell about the service of the hotel, they have well experienced staff the food was also awesome it was my best stay ever before the way they care about us really its like heaven...!!
Very welcoming, answered every question I had, room was very clean and newly renovated, they doing some renovation outside, Vina was excellent in helping me with my luggage. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
I normally don't complain too much about rooms. My expectations aren't difficult to meet usually and I don't consider myself overly picky. I try an choose Best Western for most of my business travel and rewards points. Room was modern and clean, however I had a couple of issues with my stay. 1. No towels in the room - I arrived after a very long drive and went to bed straight away, so I didn't notice the missing towels until the morning. By that time, it was too late as I had to get back on the road 2. The selection of channels on the TV was limited, compared to other properties I've stayed at. Some of the channels were blurry and the audio quality was less than ideal. I think this is a source issue, not the TV itself, but... 3. Every other BW I've stayed at has gone out of their way to acknowledge or at least ask for my BW Rewards card at check in - not a peep and almost seemed surprised when I presented my card. 4. In the morning, hotel lobby had an almost overpowering smell of curry type spices. Understand the hotel restaurant is Indian - but it was most unpleasantly strong, even in the lobby 5. Breakfast was ok, but not the nicest selection I've seen. Also, the breakfast area seemed disorganized and not particularly clean (sink filled with debris?) 6. Upon checkout, I stood at the desk for 5 minutes. Ringing the bell on the desk didn't summon anyone, Finally I called the hotel number from my cell. It rang several times, then a guy emerged from the office. He seemed confused and surprised to see me - almost as if he'd been sleeping until my phone call. I've worked shift work for most of my adult life so I know nightshifts can be hard, but the time of morning I checked out I'd expect someone to at least be at the desk. Overall, just a disappointing stay due to the missing details that usually aren't a problem at other Best Western properties I've stayed at.
As per usual, Best Western Sudbury provided a comfortable stop-over. Free parking across the street and a nice breakfast in the morning. Staff was helpful and friendly. Internet worked flawlessly. Highly recommend.
First time staying at the BW in Sudbury Ontario. The place seems to have an air of old style architecture with modern subtle tones. Very quiet and clean considering it is located pretty much in the city centre. The staff made my stay a very pleasant one. I do recommend!
I had visited this place last month for some business works. Very impressed with the way staff deals, amazing hospitality very caring. My room was very comfortable and equipped with best of ameneties.breakfast just amazing, u cant think of skipping a single dish. Next time when i go for next meeting i will ask my secretary to book thr same place as it was very convenint for my meeting as it located at the centre of downtown. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.
This was my first time to Sudbury and I stayed at the Best Western. The staff was very helpful and rooms and lobby were spotless. I had a great breakfast there in the morning. I will surely stay at the Best Western when I go back to Sudbury.
This is my second time staying at this BW and the location always exceeds in service and value. I arrived early and the staff were able to accommodate an early check in which was great. Very comfortable rooms, I think they upgraded the rooms recently which is a very nice touch. The location is perfect for my work and parking is right across the street. Restaurant on site is great and the breakfast is always good. Will be back for my next visit too!
Room was dirty. Found hair on both comforter, sheets were all wrinkled, floors were no cleaned in bathroom, carpets definitely not vaccuumed, hair in tub and bathroom mirror dirty. There was an odor in the room. Went down to get coffee at 9:15 am and was told sarcastically that the breakfast closes at 9 a.m. TV kept shutting off and never seen an employee the whole time we were there. No parking available in both parking lots.
Booked 5 rooms for 3 nights. After the first night, cancelled and we all moved to another hotel a few blocks away that was clean, great breakfast and for the same price. BW staff were not friendly and said that renovations are only a few years old - you wouldn't know it. We use BW a lot but never to return to this one.
Upon check-in the staff was very friendly and professional, we had Vina help upgrade our room to accommodate the change in plans as we decided to bring our kids along. When we got into our room, it was very clean and far exceeded our expectations for the price that we paid. The following morning we had a great breakfast in the hotel lobby. All aspects of our short visit at this hotel made us feel like home. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.
We had read the great reviews and arrived weary from a long drive and were so looking forward to a quiet evening in a nice hotel. The area that the hotel is in is questionable if you want to walk at night. The parking awkward but free. There were no carts to bring our things up. Again the poor front desk person with no help to go look for the carts. We arrived at 3 the check in time. The desk person should have had help or a manager to help her. She was terrific and held her positive attitude though being pulled in different directions. The first room we went into had a broken toilet seat and no towels. There was no maintenance to fix things so she took us to the room next door which also had a broken toilet seat which this sweet young woman crawled under to do her best to fix it. She said there were no other rooms to offer us so we took it. There was no compensation or contact with a manager. There were parties up and down the hall, loud yelling and the people in the room next door were talking loudly (or the acoustics were awful) until 11pm and woke up at 6 am still loud. It was a huge dissertation for what we paid and for a Best Western. The room looked good but the bathroom was not very well remodeled. If everything else went well we wouldn't even have thought twice about it. We couldn't understand why anyone would like this hotel.
I recommend this hotel if you are staying for a night only. Room is clean, bed is comfy, washroom is okay. Breakfast room is not okay. Waffle batter is not functioning properly and the handle of the waffle machine is dirty. Other than that, our stay was ok.
Checked in a bit early no problem; business colleague had stayed there before and is creature of habit. We were booked into a 5th floor king suite and it was very spacious, comfy bed, clean bathroom and a bit of a view of the city. The hotel is downtown and almost seems to be an office conversion at some point. as the parking is very limited and after an evening meeting, we ended up parking on the street in front of the hotel. The hotel does not have an actual parking lot. The deluxe continental breakfast was nice with hot eggs, sausage, bagels etc. I may try another hotel in future near the highway but this BW, despite being downtown, was very nice and clean.
Long drive that day and we checked in late. Staff at time if check in were very friendly and even went out of the way for us so we could have a parking spot right in front of the motel lobby. Got to our room and was very disappointed. The cleaning standards were well below par from any Bestwestern I had stayed in before. We were scheduled for two nights but checked out first thing in the morning. Again very friendly staff but very dirty. Found a cap to a syringe while plugging in our cell phones under the night stand. Free potatoes chip. Just gross. So when I went to check out I asked the manager if she wanted to see the pictures from my phone and she said she didn't need to see them. To me that seems like they know they have an issue.
Upon arrival very late last evening, we were greeted by Jordan, who was working the evening shift. He was incredibly helpful and charming, and explained everything about our room with ease and kindness. In the morning we had a wonderful spread of breakfast (complimentary) and checked out with the manager, Vina. Vina was very professional and even went the extra mile to cut down costs for us on our next hotel, which she booked online for us happily. Very short stay, but the staff made it exceptional with their attention to detail. Great price and even better service!
Best Western hotel was a vibrant hospitality experience where contemporary meets elegance, located in the heart of downtown and just a few minutes away from the gorgeous Ramsey lake. Without a doubt one of my favorite hotels we called home during our time in Sudbury. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff and our check-in was quick & smooth. The staff was simply the best - we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing hospitality we were extended. The suite was spacious, clean with wooden detailing- equipped with a comfortable bed and a flat-screen cable television, a minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. We really enjoyed our stay here- everything was beautifully well taken care of! Thanks!
Have stayed in many hotels in the last ten years in Sudbury. Many have been nice but this hotel is by far the best! You're right downtown, clean and affordable. The best part of our stay was the staff and the service. Everyone was polite and friendly. We had a large group and the staff was extremely nice to everyone. I will continue to stay at this hotel for business every year.
We stayed at Best Western Sudbury and it was amazing experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to warm up our babies food and milk bottle. Upon walking in the hotel everything is spotless and has an amazing smell. My kids and I had a wonderful time outside walking around downtown. The breakfast was exceptional and was included with our package.
My boyfriend and I, along with another couple stayed here this past weekend. It was our first time in Sudbury, the staff was very friendly, especially the friend desk manager who helped us with a lot of recommendations and navigate our way around the area. Rooms were clean and service was very prompt. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the restaurant but heard good things. Overall a great value for your buck!
Price was right, room was cute however the view was not too nice. Found some sort of a cricket in the washroom this morning, after I squished it we felt better. The counter in the washroom was completely broken and they had tried to silicone it. Bed was comfortable but not the pillows ... lots of little foam bits. Overall a nice room.
I travel most of the time for work and frequent Best Western's across the country and I have to say that the Sudbury location is probably one of the worst. The physical location is not in the best area and as a women travelling alone I did not feel safe in the location. Rooms were old/outdated and bathroom was not clean with still having someones hair all over the tub. I could hear lots of noise from people loitering outside for most of the night and I was even on the 4th floor. I would not recommend this location and would not stay here again.
Our stay in the Downtown Sudbury Best Western was enjoyable. The car was parked safely in the hotel parking lot which is right across the road from the police station. The room was lovely and the temperature was easy to adjust. The breakfast that was included was a great way to start the next part of the journey.
AMAZING HOTEL!!!! Very clean rooms and amazing staff. We took a family trip from Vermont to The Polar Bear Provincial Park and stayed at the Best Western in Sudbury over night (each way). On both stays our rooms were very comfortable, clean and welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel! There is also a delicious indan restaurant in the near by area with an incredible potato dish!!
Family moving from Alberta to Ontario. I'm an ex Best Western employee as well as a housekeeping trainer. We couldn't leave the Sudbury Ontario Canada location fast enough. The rooms were filthy. Management should be ashamed. BW needs to inspect this location. Food on the room floors. Hair embedded on the bathroom walls. Hair on hair dryer. Hair and dirt in beds. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED?
My husband and I are traveling from Alberta with his son. I'm also a Best Western Employee in Alberta. Last night while staying in Thunder Bay I started reading the reviews, I got a serious feeling of uneasiness but I know from working at my hotel that some people lie and stretch the truth. Well my first impression when we arrived was *where the heck is hotel parking* and *there is a homeless shelter right across the street will our truck be safe* but since we are here and it was too late to cancel reservation. So we went in, and waited 25min for a front desk agent, then we had to go back outside in the rain across the road to get our belongings out of our truck. Once we got into the elevator I looked around and was afraid to touch anything as it was filthy and smelled of BO, then we get to our room needless to say the room had a fould odor, went to use the bathroom and there was pubic hair on the toilet seat. I had to line the seat with toilet paper. When I sat down I turned to my right to look at the tub, which also had not been cleaned in a VERY VERY long time as there was pubic hair and thick black scum all over. Also if it had been clean is it not proper to remove the nasty tub mat?? Needless to say I left with my husband and step son. No point asking for another room because I already feel like I need a tetanus shot. Spent the next hour trying to find a clean hotel to sleep. I may have been in with an employee discount but still I'm going to be out that amount plus the cost of our new hotel
This hotel was very excellent condition and the service was very excellent and tidy. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The comfort in the hotel room was very comfortable and tidy. Next time I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
A very disappointing stay. The air conditioner wasn't working 100%..and only working some of the time....it was one long sleepless night. The biggest complaint is the lady at the front desk in the morning. After telling me that they try their best ??? she would send maintenance to verify my complaint...it was verified I asked about an adjustment....room was $152.54 after tax...she offered a $20 discount.???? . I suggested that I should write an online review and she couldn't understand why anyone would do that...because they try their best and that I was threating her and she would withdraw that credit ..she finally offered a $25 credit because they're trying to do their best...which I suggested wasn't good enough. I should also mention that the pillows are terrible, the towels are starchy and the alarm clock didn't work. Thank goodness we have other choices.
It was a pretty standard room eith a decent breakfast spred. I found it to be clean and the mattresses were comfortable. Internet works, hair dryer worked, heat lamp worked, one night light didn't but that is hardly a problem. The staff are really friendly and helpful which sets them apart though.
Rooms were clean decor was really nice rooms were inviting and comfortable only downfall was the free breakfast eggs were not satisfying muffins were dry and crumbly hotel receptionist was awesome he was very friendly super nice guy, more hotels should have people like him two thumbs up to your employee.
PLEASE! Do not ever stay at Best Western Sudbury Downtown. Staff poorly trained as confirmed by Kumar T (Supervisor) and management Christine Megamory will not attend to your concerns or have the common decency to return your calls. Learned today that communicating with customer service Best Western resolves nothing. “We can't override the decision of a hotel Ma'am”. Well as always we can make decisions to advise our friends and family to stay at other chains and hotels. File a complaint with the better business bureau, and the chamber of commerce, review on several vacation sites....going to be busy but I will be heard....
This best western is located right across the street that was frequented by questionable people throughout the day and night. It is clearly in an undesirable part of town. The room was incredibly tight, and the hotel was unbearably warm. Even at maximum settings the dates AC unit was unable to bring the temperature down. The lack of a fan in the washroom meant that even a brief shower left the whole room warm and damp.
Excellent Stay! Great Location! I received great service from the hotel staff, very friendly and helpful! Vina who assisted me at check-in, called the room to make sure everything was to my satisfaction! Its great to stay in a hotel that invests in new updated rooms and new technology. I did not have to worry about card deactivation as they are using tap! Definitely a relaxing stay!
The staff was very knowledgeable even the little trainee woman got us to our reservation quick. In less than 5 minutes we were in a clean bedroom with modern style furniture. The only minor glitch was the AC unit but an employee came quickly and fixed it.
My wife recently visited Sudbury to attend a family memorial; the Best Western was chosen due to it's proximity to the venue. The front desk staff were very helpful; Vina in particular was friendly and quite knowledgeable. The room was clean and breakfast was great. This area of town may be a little sketchy, but the Hotel was certainly a great place to stay. Parking is right across the street.
My husband wanted to go to Sudbury for his birthday getaway, we got to Best Western hotel downtown at around 1 am after a long drive from Toronto, it was a very small hotel with only 1 person working at all times, we checked in, I told the front desk that we were celebrating my husband's birthday, he said " don't worry mam I will give you a nice room". We got to our room tired, exhausted and sleepy, we washed up and went to bed, the first towel I got did not feel fresh, I used another one and went to bed, the sheets/ bedding were not tucked in properly on the sides, were not clean, I can smell perfumer on the pillow and dust around, the light on the side of the bed did not work... I could not sleep. In the morning I open the curtain and looked around and saw (I wish I didn't see) stain on the sheets, chocolate crumbs in the side night table drawer, can food and junk food in the dresser drawer, baby foot prints on the desk, baby hand prints on the picture on top of the desk, shower curtain was dirty, stains and the big mirror on bathroom door, we could not find the remote control for the TV.... as soon as I got to front desk, I told the lady Vina about the things I saw in our room and she said "oh! So sorry about that, I will get the cleaning lady to clean everything", we went for breakfast, YUK! Coffee was watery, eggs were not cooked well, there was 2 donuts, 4 bagels, around 4 small muffins, not much to choose from, waffle machine was dirty, stains on the dishes and cutlery... I had cereal and tea only in a take out cup When we went up that after noon the room was a little cleaner, all the things I told Vina about were cleaner but not perfect, there still was crumbs in the drawer and stains on the mirror… I gave up. At check out time, the front desk said “sorry but we cannot give you any discount, we can only give you points for other stay at Best Western”, I did not like that but there was no manager to complain to. He gave me a phone number and said “call Vina and talk to her, she is the owner”. I called Vina 2 days after we checked out, she said there is nothing else she can do, only offered me point for my next stay. I/We will never ever go back to this hotel, it was an overall bad experience.
The one thing a hotel can not change is it location. It is a downtown hotel. But looking past that it is a great hotel. Clean rooms, helpful staff. great breakfast. We parked across the street with no problems. One of my pet peeves is finding the ice machine. It never seems to be on my floor. Oh well I needed a new hobby.
Did get a parking spot in back note parking spots are across the street. Christine the woman who checked us in allocated us room 516. We were experiencing issues with AC unit, it kept shutting down and not turning back on even though the temperature was set low. I later find out from the reviews that this is an ongoing issue. Also when I turned on AC right away you could smell dust and mold and I knew the filter needed to be cleaned. I washed in sink and it was filthy. called front desk and Christine gave us tips for AC unit. As soon as we walk in the room it is warm. We do the trick that Christine told us and it started again. at 9 pm we are in bed again the AC unit kicks out! I call down to Christine, who not once apologized. We told her to move us or give us a discount (but she would only credit us $20 credit for the AC) not good enough for us. We told her to move us, she said the hotel was full! Okay we are leaving and we want a refund. She came to the door and said she would move us next door. Fine! we move to 517 I pull off the foot of the bed cover and WHAT! it looks like wine or who knows what is sprayed all over the cover. I pull the duvet cover off and WHAT! There is blood spots on the duvet! I call down to Christine and asked for a new duvet - her response "oh we don't have anymore". I went back to our old room and got the duvet from the queen bed and used that and put the dirty one in the other room. We then crawled into bed and damn the AC unit shuts down again! I give up. In the morning we quickly shower and there is mold on the shower curtain! I just did not want to touch anything! We grudgingly had breakfast downstairs and I checked out. Christine was back at the front desk and she said nothing about the mess we encountered yesterday. No apology, no offer of compensation, no sympathy, nothing! Obviously the lack of caring from the front desk manager shows thru all the staff. It flows down and this hotel is a mess. Even the coffee table in the lobby that had a layer of dust on the shelf below that someone had written in. Obviously cleaning here is not a priority. It comes down to people caring about their product or service and they don't here.
We were not told they were filming a movie in the hotel restaurant. The streets were cluttered with movie staff, trucks and generators (noise) - had we known we would never had stayed here. Light by bed didn't work. Turns out it was unplugged and we had to move furniture to access plug but when we did get it to work, the light bulb was burnt out on one side. Bed was comfy. Pillows not so much. Noisy - sound from hall and next room and music from street bothersome. Men talking in next room until well after 12:30am and in hall kept us up. We do expect "city noise" when we are downtown but not all the hotel noise. Went for breakfast and they were out of eggs and cutlery. I went to the front desk and was told "they were coming". After about 20 min someone brought plastic cutlery to replace the metal that they were out of and eggs. By now we were late to depart. Parking was in a tiny lot in the back or across the street in another very small lot. A lot of kids, people etc. wandering around. Don't leave anything in your car. I would never return to this hotel. Best Western Plus? I don't think it deserves the plus.
Being downtown, this is a great place to stay. Absolutely no issues at all! Clean rooms, great breakfast, easy walking distance to great places to eat! Staff is so helpful and highly recommend it as a place to stay.
We sleep for one night and the overall was very good. One thing we did appreciate the most is the fact that we forgot our iPhone and they keep it aside for us! My daughter was very happy to have it back! Thanks again :)
Commute is excellent. 3 minutes away from downtown bus terminal. Staff is friendly and caring.continental breakfast is hot and good. Taj bistro restaurant is right in the hotel makes your dinner more enjoyable. Overall stay was good. I would recommend to stay this place.
The hotel itself is nice. Room was large and comfortable. The lack of parking or any help from the hotel to find parking was frustrating. I would in all likelihood not stay here again, despite the hotel itself being adequate.
Location is good if you need to be downtown otherwise the parking is limited and difficult to get in and out of especially in the winter. Some good restaurants just a walk away. Breakfast (eggs) were not eatable. Check-in was 30 mins because no one was at the front counter. Other staff passed by and could not help.
Overall we were very satisfied with our experience at the Sudbury Best Western. The breakfast was very good and the staff pleasant and very helpful. The only thing we disliked was the lack of parking. We came back around 8.30 pm and there was no parking available. It was very inconvenient to have to find a spot to park. There should be an available spot for every room at the hotel. Our room was on the parking side of the building so we watched for a spot to come empty so we could use that spot rather then move our car before 8 the next morning. We watched people from buildings around the area leave their car in the lot and not come near the hotel. Security for parking was non -existant..
Have stayed in this facility on many occasions - and they provide service as expected by a Best Western - staff are friendly and professional - not the most inviting part of town - but a good location to do business - close to some good restaurants ( have not eaten on site ) - try the Hour Glass - the hotel was very busy on this visit but they were able to accommodate a request for an extra room - like room # 317 - quiet - good internet and great bed - good place to stay on a business trip
Had stayed here before (see review Sept 2015) and found it to be average. Returned again with kids due to convenient location in hopes of having at least equivalent experience. Although parking issue was worse and it was noisier, the personnel were quite pleasant and breakfast fine. However there was an incident that ruined it all. In the morning there was violent fighting in the next room that frightened the kids. Lots of loud swearing and banging which ended up in the hallway. Called front desk who then called 911. Cops and ambulance eventually showed up. Realize these things happen and was out of personnel's control but this ended up being our memory of the place. Unfortunately we will be looking elsewhere to stay on our next visit to Sudbury.
Excellently located hotel! Friendly, helpful staff! The restaurant was exceptional!! Great hotel, needs better signs, especially, as it's located on a one way street! The sign is way up on the top of the building! As a person, not familiar with Sudbury & arriving at night, I had to circle the block on several 1 way streets to find it!
From the outside, the area and hotel don't look overly inviting. Reception/welcome area could do with modernising. However, my room was fresh and up to date, very comfortable bed and warm, especially as it was -17 outside. Bathrooms are quite small, but manageable. I'd stay here again. Definitely visit the Taj Bistro - lovely food. Not as good as curry in the UK, but the best I've had so far in Canada. Parking not too easy, especially when snow has fallen, spaces are quite limited.
Terrible experience. Parking was atrocious and very unorganized, pipes had burst and the water was shut Off for several hours. We were sent to super 8 to stay rather than lose our money. Would not refund our money. Terrible start to our family getaway. Owner and management staff was very unprofessional and oblivious to proper customer service and social skills. Would never give these people money again, regardless of the state of this hotel.
Restaurant serves very good East Indian food, with good beer on tap. Bed was very comfortable and rooms were nicely upgraded. Recommend to all travellers to Sudbury. Only complaint is that the room was not given at more of a discount price as the hotel seemed quite empty and it was a weekday- in order to keep customers....taking another 10$ off our bill would have kept us coming back for more later.
Very nice hotel, extremely friendly and efficient staff , Very good breakfast, great rooms so clean and tidy and very comfy beds, very well situated in the middle of everything in downtown Sudbury. Good parking space.
Staff went out of the way to help us for any requirements. Vina, Christine and front desk was excellent staff. The food at the Indian restaurant was delicious, clean and professional. The breakfast was excellent.
I stayed at BW, Sudbury for 1 night on a business trip. The front desk staff during check in and check out were very friendly. I am giving a 5 star for their services. They were pleasant to approach and were accommodative with my requests which comforted me during my stay.
We thought we would give Best Western Hotels a shot as we frequently travel and book hotel rooms when we do so. This hotel is worn, tired, the room smelled of sewage, the towel rack in the bathroom would have broken from the wall mount had a single bath towel been hung on it. Wall paper and paint and wall condition was very worn and outdated, no parking available when we returned in the evening. I had to park on a sidewalk across from the hotel as instructed by the night attendant, so had to run to the hotel in the rain in our formal wear. We are not impressed.
Good location in downtown Sudbury and close to some really good restaurants that provide excellent service and good food. The hotel sign is hard to locate and not readily apparent to see where the hotel is actually located.
Very courteous staff, clean rooms and walking distance to a nice Irish Pub. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Would stay here again. There is a lot of stores within walking distance and also a Timmies for you timmies lovers.
helpful staff / great location / Very clean - pleasant lobby. I would stay there again for my next business trip to Sudbury The owner was very involved in the management of the hotel and seemed to really care about the property
Showed up late and tired, took 45 minutes to check in. Man working front desk was incompitent. Must have been new, called for help and spent entire checkout process talking on cell phone in different language without telling us what was going on at all. Would not come back.
Very comfortable room with excellent wifi. Helpful and caring staff. Breakfast was included, self service and excellent. Only concern was a back-up alarm on a truck at about 5am and the congested parking. (There is another lot across the road but this also tends to be somewhat difficult to get into.
I stayed at the BW in Downtown Sudbury to attend the CHL/Russia Series Hockey Game. My stay was excellent and the location was ideal for attending a game. The hosts Surrinder and Vina were fantastic. I would definitely stay there again.
Good experience. Breakfast needs improvement but otherwise good hotel. Good location. The elevators were pretty slow. Nice rooms and washrooms. Right next to downtown Sudbury. Walking distance to everything I'm the downtown core.
Down Town Sudbury is a good place to stay if you want to be close to everything and this Best Western offers Indian food in the Restaurant it was my first time trying and I loved it ! The parking can be tricky sometimes it's across the street but you get use to fast . All in all this is a very nice Hotel to stay in LOVE IT
I was in Sudbury on business and spent two nights at this hotel. It was really quiet and a good place to rest. The rooms are "half way" renovated, by that I mean everything looks fairly new and modern in the room, but you can see the bathroom is rather old. But still it's very nice, quiet and clean. Location is ok, very central, but the general area lacks of restaurants and activities, you have to drive 10-15 away to get anything interesting. The biggest drawback is parking space, the parking is very very small across the street, I was lucky to get the last remaining spot both evenings I was at the hotel.
Clean room and a comfortable bed. Good pillows. Tubs are shallow if that matters to you. Great if need to be near the university. Breakfast is free, but you get what you pay for. Parking could easily be an issue for people.
Very clean and comfortable and very nice staff gave it a 4 because not much parking everything else awesome breakfast was good and rooms were quiet parking is across the street and not many if then but loved my stay
We attended an event at Sudbury arena and the hotel was only a short walking distance away. I found the rooms to be larger than other hotel rooms and our room fit a cot quite nicely. Breakfast was hot with standard choices. I would stay there again if I was in the area. It would have been nice if there was a pool for the kids.
Hotel was very good. The room was nice, good shower.. bed was comfy, tv worked. Room had a microwave which was great. The breakfast was very good, coffee was hot. Over all the stay was great. Only negative thing id have to say is the parking.. the parking was not convinent or user friendly as all.
While passing through Sudbury on the Thanksgiving weekend we stopped for dinner and then realized we were both too tired to drive further. We booked a room at the Best Western and shortly afterward found ourselves in a clean room with a nice comfy bed. The front desk staff were lovely and welcoming. We missed the breakfast the next morning but even so it was a nice stay. The pillows are kind of small and poofy but if that is the worst thing that happens to you, life is good!!
Well done, BW! Bedroom refurnished and great decor. Comfortable beds, with crisp white comfortable and bright turquoise sash, make room inviting. The bedsheets are unbeatable! Drycleaned and ironed and no pilling! Room darkening blinds, bedside night lamps, oversize fridge with freezer and microwave are an added bonus. Although you can see some evidence of the old in the carpentry and what they have had to work around... the bathroom is spotless and has new modern edge to it. Breakfast served without plastic utensils... when did you get that last at a hotel? Glass mugs/glasses/plates make an at home experience. Great hot/cold options. Definately stay again.
Another lovely visit to Best Western Sudbury! The bed was very comfortable ant the shower was hot. Its a great location, close to everything. This is the second time staying for us and I am sure we will do it again. Thanks Best Western... you didnt disappoint!
Stayed for two nights over the weekend. Room 504 with two queen beds, decent size, large fridge, microwave. Beds were reasonably comfortable. Bathroom was NOT clean. Black mold on the counter, shower and shower curtain! Toilet was off balance and smashed against the wall when you stand up. Only two small bath towels in the room, had to call and ask for more, and they were delivered quickly. No kleenx in the washroom for some reason. Hotel is in a seedy area and I worried about my car in the open parking lot, but there were no problems. The breakfast is more than continental, with make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, yogurt. Only fruit was apples though. The cost of this hotel is not appropriate given it's limited quality.
Our initial 2 queen beds room had a very stuffy smell, but the hotel quickly resolved our complaint and moved us to a much better room. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was your usual hotel breakfast, with eggs, sausage, toast, fruit, yogurt, coffee,oj. Wifi is free as is parking.
The entrance is hidden from some directions. Poor drive in entrance and very limited and crowded parking at the building. The rest is across the street . One staff person at arrival and desk clerk serving breakfast and washing dishes in the morning plus checkout. Limited choices.
This hotel offers great service that begins when you enter when you check in. The staff are extremely friendly, professional and go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel special. The rooms are decorated in a comfortable way. I have been coming here for the last 8 weeks and love staying in this hotel. There is wifi throughout the hotel so you can get easy access to online.
Beautiful rooms, unfortunately the whole place from the lobby up to the rooms and most importantly the room I was in could use a good scrubbing. There was mould in the washroom and it smelled horrid. The high speed internet kept shutting down and when getting ready in the morning a fuse blew, although the front desk quickly fixed that problem.
I have not stayed at BestWestern for over a year. I think I must try it again this trip. Very satsified. Good location, good breakfast items. very clean, and quiet. I will stay more nights in the future.
great hotel to stay at downtown, close to restaurants, bars/pubs.. a mall, banking and everything else that is located in downtown Sudbury.......park your car and you can pretty much walk to anything you need from there.......hotel staff is very friendly and always ask is there anything else you need when they see you,
I had a chance to stay at this location, its an Excellent Hotel with great restaurant in the center of downtown. Staff was friendly. Overall highly recommended for business or even families with children.
located in the centre of the city ... the acces is easy staff are friendly ... breakfast is good include in price ... In general I has a good stay .... I'll recommend it for people looking for a hotel with a good qu7ality-price . thanks
We arrived and got our room. Went up stairs and settled in our bags and everything to realize the sink didn't work. So we called the desk and waited for a half hour for the guy to bring up towels for the room and to fix the sink. He never showed up. So we went down and talked to the front desk. Instead of fixing the sink or even looking at it they decided to move us to another room. So we had to pack back up and move all of our bags and what not to another room. The man at the front desk was reluctant to give us a receipt for the room. That became an unneeded hassle. Then at 3 in the morning a party broke out in the room next door and nothing was done about that. And then the continental breakfast, which I have come to expect as usually decent to good at best westerns was absolutely horrendous.
This Best Western has no readable exterior sign. We just stumbled across it. Entrance on the side in a dark alley under the building. Virtually no free parking. Badly laid out lobby with on elevator. In the morning the one staff members had to check out guests and run to the breakfast room to refill the dishes.
Depending on the type of person you are you will either like or dislike the location. It is downtown so there were quite a few people hanging around the streets other than that it is within walking distance to restaurants, banks, liquor store etc. Outside of the hotel is not great but the inside is nice. Good bang for your buck. Complimentary breakfast was good as well.
Quick checkin, free parking, defend internet and spacious enough rooms. Standard 3-star fare. On the negative, toilet has a urine stain and hair on it but I don't want to downgrade the mark too much as this is the oversight of just one member of their staff. Overall, the rooms are clean.
travel card issue pending, no one at desk and did not get to use my travel card, i called later but was told that it cannot be done. the hotel location is pretty good but the hotel needs to be revamped. breakfast was ok but too busy the time we were there.
good place to stay downtown. room was pretty clean but for the size of the room with a king bed it could of had another small couch along with the one that was there. All in all a pleasant stay. Staff was courteous and friendly. Although nobody at checkout and there was a line waiting to check out. Just left my key at the desk walked out. Guess the front desk person was pulling double duty by working at the breakfast.
This hotel is situated no more than 10 minutes from downtown Sudbury. Its in a great location and provides a very impressive breakfast in the morning. The rooms are clean and comfortable and BW offers free wifi and parking. We would definitely stay again.
Stayed here because of it's location and price. Room was clean and staff were all friendly. Breakfast, which was included, had lots to choose from. The only complaint was the parking. They have space for about 7 vehicles right beside the hotel but the main parking area is across the street. It doesn't have a lot of room to manoeuvre in and the lot fills up quickly.
I frequent this hotel when in Sudbury for business. The staff are very friendly and polite. The overall decor is very nice. The beds are very comfortable, nice linens and there is plenty of hot water in the morning.
Just passing though but hotel staff are friendly and hotel was nice and clean. Downtown location didn't seem to have too much within walking distance but staff were helpful. Breakfast was hot and good. Lots to choose from.
They have a sign that encourages guests to create their own breakfast sandwich, more than three types of bagels, and a waffle making station. The customer service is second to none - with a front desk clerk who actually makes a courtesy call within 15 minutes! Location, location, location: You're right beside a hipster latte place called Kupajoe, an incredible Indian Tandoori oven joint (Try the wings and their mango shake), and a karaoke place. It's downtown. The rooms were incredibly clean. Beds were comfy. 10/10 would Best Western again.
Very centrally located, the Best Western Sudbury is a great place to stay when visiting Sudbury. Close to Laurentian University and downtown shops and services, I had an overall great experience during my recent stay.
Room was nice and clean. Hotel is clean and in good location. Breakfast was typical continental style. Lots of restaurants in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is across the street but convenient. The surrounding area has a fair number of people that could use some help, but they weren't a real nuisance. Would recommend it.
There is nothing to do at this location. Dowtown Sudbury is like a ghost town. Not the nicest part of town. I didn't feel safe walking around at dusk. The staff is very nice and did try to help out on restaurant locations.
We typically like to stay near the downtown so that we can walk anywhere we want from our hotel. In downtown Sudbury though we felt there wasn't a lot accessible from this location except for restaurants as many of the main attractions in Sudbury or at least a drive away. The hotel service staff were great on check-in and check-out. The beds were comfortable but the Linens were simple with no duvet covers and the pillows were kind of small and lumpy. The breakfast was great for our kids but for adults it could have had some protein like eggs. The main reason I didn't give this hotel a higher rating is out of its control and that is the location. Next time I would choose a hotel closer to science North so that we had access to the lakefront Trail and one of the main attractions that we planned to go to.
Terrible terrible customer service, especially from the supervisor. They really frown upon anyone using Priceline. She purposely lied to us and told us the entire hotel was booked and said we can't help people using Priceline. All we wanted was 2 doubles instead of 1 queen for me and my two young kids. My brother came an hour later and booked a room for the regular price no problem at all. Only problem I ever had regarding any hotel bookings I've had. Always use Priceline.
Great hotel, near everything in center of city. got to see many sites in this town. i would reccommend this place to my fellow friends and family. i will come back for another stay in this beauitful town of sudbury.
On our last trip to Sudbury we again stayed at the downtown Best Western and were looking forward to the always so friendly welcome of the hotel staff. The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of the city and also offers a nice Indian restaurant and free parking. Since our last visit the large rooms were beautifully renovated and the breakfast service did improve very much. A large fridge and a microwave is now available in the rooms and the Wi-Fi connection worked perfectly. All in all, like always, an excellent quality to price ratio and we certainly will be back for our next stay!
The room were clean and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast had a nice choice of food. Whole place was very clean and I was very comfortable there. The bed was very comfortable.Great job team
The room was updated and very clean. Staff were friendly. Overall was happy with the experience. I will certainly sty here again. If you are looking for an affordable, friendly nice place to stay without a pool come here
We've stayed at the Best Western Downtown Sudbury many times over the past dozen years and like fine wine it just keeps getting better and better. Our double queen room was clean, spacious and quiet, wifi quick and dependable and breakfast selection varied, fresh and served on real china and cutlery rather than paper and plastic. Add in free parking and what more could one ask for?

If you have anything larger than a small car good luck getting into the parking lot and don't go out in the evening and expect a parking spot when you return, they are quite limited!! The room was small and smelly. Air Conditioner would turn on but couldn't keep the room cool. Exhaust fan in bathroom wouldn't work. Put it this way overall the hotel is old and needs updating and repairs!
We reserved through Hotwire. After reading some "so so" reviews we were pleasantly surprised. Outside is not overly apealling, but the the staff and service made up for it. Can't hold the neighbourhood against the hotel.
Celebrate wedding and Canada's 150th. Visiting family and friends across canada. Enjoying what canada has to offer and see the country from a car. Took over a week to drive from Edmonton to Toronto and go to the blue jays games
the hotel is situated in a nice area in downtown the staff were very helpful and very courteous.the hotel rooms were very clean as well as the bathroom, there is some great resturants within walking distance.
staff friendly but, needs new equipment, more supplies and a much better breakfast. had booked this hotel well in advance for 4 people. the room had only two towels. we had to wait for the two other towels to arrive. we had to request extra towels everyday and had to wait each and every time into the evening hours. we had to remind them on several occasions to bring us towels. breakfast was worst we have ever experienced and we have stayed in lots of hotels across north america. food was substandard and lacking any type of presentation. the waffles were terrible and they would not provide the non-stick spray so they stuck each and every time. i will not be returning to the hotel. the area surrounding the hotel is dead at night and hard to find anything that is open. i would not recommend this hotel, might have been marginally better if it had a pool or hot tub.
Hotel located in a central location. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable clean rooms, very comfortable beds. Pet friendly with a park across the road to exercise the pet. Very good complementary breakfast. Would stay there again.
thanks for everything. i enjoyed everything about my stay. you folks were wonderful! I came to sudbury on a leisure trip, and was greeted with friendly staff who upgraded my room for me to a very comfortable king sided bed. The cleaning staff were super friendly as well. Breakfast in the morning was great for a continental with hot waffles, sausage and eggs... considering they didn't have a kitchen to cook anything in, they do pretty good.
Very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was gorgeous! The bed was super comfy, it felt like my own bed at home. It is not far from everything, very easy to get around. This is a place I would stay at again.
Best Western has been my number 1 choice of hotel for the past 5 years. The only reason I would stay at any other hotel, is if a Best Western is not in the area I am visiting. I have never received less than excellent service.
Staff at front desk was wonderful, very helpful and friendly. The room was nicely decorated but I'm pretty sure housekeeping just gave the room a very quick once over. There was garbage on the floor, thick dust on several surfaces, hair in the tub and ice bucket, and some sticky surfaces. The floor lamp didn't work and my husband had to fix the drain plug in the tub. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection.
The staff at this hotel are polite and friendly and efficient and helpful. I stayed here for a night in February and so came back to it this visit as I was pleased with the location , the room and the staff.
Nice people and a comfortable stay. I definitely would recommend staying at the Best Western! Also, is you are a rewards member, you will receive a discount. Which is a bonus for us! Thank you Best Western!
I like the location of this hotel and the friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to anybody that has to be downtown Sudbury for any reason. It is my number one choice when I go to Sudbury for work.
First off as an FYI I have over 20 years experience in hotel management and understand the challenges hotels have but no matter what the challenge there is no excuse for a dirty room and no excuse for a manager who seemed to shrug it off. I will try to summarize to keep this brief. Lobby are very nice and inviting, check in was quick and efficient Elevator smelled musty as well as the guest room hallway. 1st room on entry had a very strong musty smell, windows do not open to allow fresh air. Fridge was off and had a towel stuck in the freezer compartment i assume to defrost. Towel was bone dry showing it had been there awhile. Cabinet it was in was filthy. Also notice bathroom floor was dirty. Asked for a new room and clerk quickly obliged and gave an upgrade to a king. Room hallway again smelled musty on a different floor. 1st thing we noticed was the room carpet was not vacuumed very well. You could see bits and pieces of whatever on it. Room had a hint of a musty smell and only a hint because the A/C was on keeping the air moving. Bathroom floor was again not very clean. Mirror on the wall beside bathroom door so dirty I could write "clean me" on it and see it very clearly. Above the bed it looks like there was a leak a long time ago. Wallpaper was peeled back and was very dry and brittle. It had been like that for awhile. At that point we decided not to stay Saturday night and move to a different hotel. Saturday morning my partner showered and then I went to shower while she packed up. As I was showering i noticed something on the shower wall and scraped it with my finger. There was some sort of crud all over the wall. When i got out I took one of the key cards and scraped the wall in a very small area and the crud that came off the wall was disgusting. Stuff like that does not build up overnight. It clearly had not been washed in a very long time and it was not just a small area but the entire wall. With the bathroom door closed you could see that the maintenance staff had painted the wall behind the door. They got paint all over the door hinges and did not clean it up. there was also paint drippings on the cover of steel Kleenex box cover. No excuse for sloppy work. then i noticed they had painted the wall around the bathroom mirror and there was paint all over the mirror edge's. All three could have been cleaned up very easily. No excuse. On checkout we voiced our concern. Clerk was appalled but of course was not authorized to do much other than give us a $20 discount. I emailed the Reception Manager my concerns and basically received a form letter reply both times. When i asked for compensation i was told i was given an upgraded room and $20 off so that's it. Yes i received an upgraded room but it was a room so dirty that I felt it was worth $0.00. It has also made me wonder what else was there that I couldn't see that myself and my partner were subjected too. When was the last time the carpet was steam cleaned? Although the sheets looked clean were they? The cleanliness and maintenance issues i noticed were not just a one off overnight thing. They had obviously been allowed to build up over a period of time. Shame on the maintenance and housekeeping staff, shame on the supervisors who obviously do not do routine checks for cleanliness and deficiencies and shame on the management for not seeming to take these issues very seriously. Will never stay there again
I always stay at the Best Western in Sudbury when I go there for business. It's in a convenient location, right near our office, it includes high speed internet, free breakfast, friendly staff, clean rooms, and I've had no problems there. Highly recommended.
our stay was fine and dandy for the price you paid per night. we stayed for two nights to attend a wedding. the free horse and buggy ride in the downtown area was a bonus. the free breakfast was a nice added touch. I am not a breakfast eater, so to have a coffee and muffin, toast and yogurt was a nice start to the day!
I typically don't stay at Best Western hotels unless it's the Plus or higher. However, this was a nicely renovated property in a good location downtown. I enjoyed my upgrade to a king room and Sarah at the front desk was very helpful! Great staff and comfortable hotel. Free breakfast as well.
I was blown away with how great the customer service was at this Best Western in Downtown Sudbury. I was thrilled to eat at the Taj restaurant, the food was amazing. Authentic Indian cuisine and the ambiance cannot be beat. Loved that it's inside the hotel. Super friendly environment and helpful at all hours was the staff. Vina was very thoughtful and made me fee comfortable the second I met her. Christine made me feel like I was at home. On the last day I really needed help getting a ride back to the airport-to my surprise she arranged everything and ensured I got the best flat rate possible through Sudbury cabs, who were also outstanding. I loved the continental breakfast, and those VERY comfortable beds. The room was immaculate and clean. The Taj restaurant is so posh its jaw dropping. The food is authentic and delicious too. The lighting in there is mesmerizing and I wouldn't change one thing about it. Thank you and hope to be back soon, Mark
Although I stay at many Best Western's, this is one to avoid. Parking is limited and tight for a pick up truck which is a common vehicle in Northern Ontario. The room is overpriced at $170.00 a night especially when there are far more places nearby at a significantly lower amount. Hair dryer was on it's last legs and falling off the wall. Check out was brutal and after waiting five minutes for someone I went into the area where the continental breakfast was and the person there was apparently handling both positions but there was no sign to indicate this. Internet was slow and the end result is this Best western is the last place I would stay in Sudbury again.
-Great location - downtown Sudbury -Very friendly staff service -Clean room and -Good Indian restaurant on site. -Will stay again at this hotel next time I am in Sudbury. I highly recommend this hotel!!!
I went to the best western, amazing service. Vina is amazing. Beautiful rooms. Very quick service. Very clean and good smelling. Beautiful location. Great Great, close to all amenities. Clean bedding, and very comfortable. Feels just like home. Couldn't ask for better.
was a fair price for the room I got, had a pretty good internet connection which was my main concern. had a cool heat lamp thing in the washroom to heat it up, cause no one likes cold washrooms while donating to the devil.
Good location, Friendly staff, clean, good breakfast. Also have a decent fitness facility. Will likely stay again if I am in the area in the future. Looking forward to trying the restaurant downstairs.
I am a picky and particular business traveller spending more than 200 days on the road. The Best Western in Downtown Sudbury provides extraordinarily friendly and competent customer service by reception and maintenance staff alike. The rooms are 100% clean, neat and provide all necessities for a business traveller such as myself. Price/quality ratio is great. Parking is ample and did I mention the staff???
Worse Best Western I've every stayed in, smelled like the 3rd world and noisy as heck. All business travelers should avoid this place. The hotel staff are fantastic and could do way better than working in this crap hotel
I have nothing but kind words for the staff at this Best Western! Everyone was always extremely kind and tended to our needs promptly. The rooms were always kept clean. Although the rooms that were on the street side were a bit noisy and the room made sometimes forgot to refill shampoo or coffee, everything else was spot on!
We went to Sudbury for a funeral and chose the Best Western because we've never had a bad experience there. They are generally very standardized and this makes for a pretty safe hotel. However, this one was NOT the usual Best Western and here is a breakdown of why: 1) Location. Perhaps "downtown" was accurate years ago, but it is in the "old downtown" which has fallen into a bit of disrepair so the whole area is depressed. 2) The room (304). At first glance the room is fine, but our heating/cooling system didn't work properly which meant that despite a setting of 60 degrees F, the air would shut off after a couple minutes and the room was constantly boiling. When we asked for it to be fixed, nothing happened. The bathroom had no fan and overall it looked quite depressing. TV remote didn't work though the woman there at night fixed that for us (she was a bright light that I'll mention below). 3) Housekeeping (or lack thereof). So the morning of the funeral we got up and housekeeping knocked just as we were getting ready to leave so we said we were heading out in a couple minutes. I should mention here we have a toddler with us too and a younger child. We left and returned 3 hours later to a room that had not been cleaned except for the garbage emptied. When the housekeeper knocked again, my son was already sleeping on the bed and she said she couldn't clean or make the beds because she wasn't allowed to touch anything of ours. No where was this stated and I've never heard this before, but even if true, I would hope the hotel would make a big deal about this because in our case, one bed had a stuffed animal on it and the other had the big change pad we bring with us. That's it. Nothing that was risky to move. So we accepted a room that didn't get made up. But to top things off, when we moved a chair we saw a lighter that was not ours and more dirt that clearly hadn't been cleaned between people. We also had to ask for tissue as there wasn't any in the room when we checked in. The high point was the woman who checked us in and worked overnight. She was great at helping where she could, but she was unfortunately not enough to overcome the overall negatives of this hotel.
The Sudbury Best Western in downtown Sudbury is a really nice central spot to stay it is walking distance to good restaurants and a nice park. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. They have a daily hot breakfast as well which is a nice way to start your day. I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and willing to help and talk about the area.
Really enjoyed this hotel. Great breakfast. Super location. Parking across the street. About 30 minutes from the airport. Supportive staff. would recommend it to the business traveler. Good location to see the city.
I stayed in room 301, King Bed. Room was clean -except when I went to move the loveseat/sofa to retrieve a pen I dropped - wasn't horrible, but was dusty and what looked like cracker or chip crumbs. Bed was comfortable, but there was no extra blanket available in-room. That said, front desk was helpful and accommodating when an extra blanket was requested. Washroom was clean, but the shower curtain was a little ratty looking and took away from the overall clean feeling of the room. Not overly big - had enough counter space, but lighting was poor and the fan didn't seem to work so the room became very hot and steamy when running the shower. This created condensation on the walls/ceiling which dripped on to the tile floor making it slippery. Desk space was rather small for spreading out laptop and paperwork, but moving the coffeemaker that I don't use anyway made a little extra space available. I did appreciate that they had outlets in the lamp for easy laptop and phone charging. It would be nice if the bedside tables had this as well. I have a 6ft charger cord for my cell and it was just long enough to reach from outlet to bedside. I hate when I have to stand on my head to get to an outlet or have to choose between using a lamp or charging my phone because there aren't enough outlets accessible or available. Windows run full width of the room which allowed for lots of natural daylight. Curtains were easy to draw for privacy and closed well. The "business center" needs some updating. A printer was available (for a fee), but providing a simple all-in-one printer would allow access to a document scanner, particularly for those traveling for business. The parking lot is across the street from the hotel and was very small. It was hard to maneuver in and out of parking spaces when there were larger vehicles such as pick-up trucks or vans. The rows are very close together so there is limited room when backing out or pulling around larger vehicles. Overall a clean and comfortable stay, but nothing that stands out. I understand from reading previous reviews that this hotel is under new management and has undergone some renovations. I'd say they are headed in a good direction of bringing an older building up-to-date, but still have a ways to go still if they want to attract the business traveler market. There was just a feeling of, "we want to appear upscale, but we are on a budget". Kind of like shopping at the dollar store for items you can use in a clever manner to try to mimic authentic higher end decor.
They tell you anything about the amenities or offer early checkout missing towels . A restaurant inside but no one tells you and no sign to let you know .You could walk in the restaurant and let you sit down leave you alone 5 minutes then tell you its closed, NO sorry we are closed just WE ARE CLOSED very nice but no thanks a fast food joint gives you better service.
They always live up to their standard. Sure you have the odd complaint, but get over it. Life is not a full bowel of cherries all the time. Things and people are not perfect, but I see that Best Western staff always try and go beyond, ignoring their own personal feelings for that day. Comfort, satisfaction, cleanliness, are here at the Best in Sudbury ON.
This was a personal visit that needed to be made. Although I use to live in Sudbury but moved away I was no longer orientated in the different areas that were in the area. I lucked out and found the places that I needed to attend with ease through the guidance of the staff. If they didn't have the answer at hand, they were quick to find it through other sources. This was my 4th stay at this Best Western and every stay was the same or better. I have stayed at other hotels for comparison purposes but I always went back to Best Western. My hat goes off to the entire staff. Keep up the great customer service.
found everything excellent. staff were kind friendly and helpful. breakfast was excellent. very accommodating hotel and absolutely stay there again. Right on the main route and easy to get to. what more do you want me to say.
The room was very small and there was NO view (we looked into the heating system) The staff was very pleasant to deal with. The curry from the in house restaurant carried throughout the hotel, and we are not curry fans. The breakfasts were lovely and hot. No pool facilities, not what we had come to expect from Best Westerns. But considering the sate of the city, one could not expect a 5 star hotel in the down town.
the bed is comfortable. the shower tube is comfortable and the water is warm enough. the hotel stuff is welcomed.everything is perfect. nothing to tell very recommend to leave in this hotel again.and also for couples and family travel.
Good value. Comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staffs. Rich breakfast. Worry-free stay. Convenient location, close to our destinations. Will come back again if visiting Sudbury again. Will suggest to friends.
We had great service from staff, however, there were very few staff members around. (To our benefit, no complaints about noise level). Clean and comfortable and centrally located. Walking distance to all amenities within the downtown area.
If I'm just reviewing the hotel, it was great. Clean lobby, helpful staff, comfortable room. The only thing that detracts from the stay would be the area. You need to park across the street from the hotel and throughout the evening random people walk through the lot. Not a great area of the city.
Nice Hotel. Great Staff, very attentive and conscientious. Very good value compared to other offerings.. Excellent Location in downtown Sudbury. Very clean rooms also good size. Will definitely return when business brings us back
It was great trip and will continue to stay there. I think you should not be asking so many questions for survey because people don't have time to answer superficial questions. You guys wast too much of guests time and hope you don't punish your guests for submitting reviews that is less than 200 words
I stayed here during my trip to Sudbury a few weeks ago. It was a last minute trip and as such I made the reservation on Expedia after landing in Sudbury. I called the hotel to confirm and they took care of everything right from the start. Parking is conveniently located across the street, which is literally a 30 second walk to the lobby. The front desk associate was courteous and got me checked in right away, he was also nice enough to help me bring in my bags from the parking lot. The rooms are fresh, clean and inviting. Great amenities and a comfortable bed. I had a chance to work out and enjoy the breakfast provided which both exceeded my expectations. On my next trip Sudbury I will definitely be staying here again!
Great staff, they are very friendly and they take care of everything and make you feel at home. Clean, pretty, bright rooms with a fantastic Indian Restaurant in hotel. Walking distance to everything for a great weekend.
Fantastic place to stay. This hotel is extremely well kept, very clean and conveniently located. Comfortable beds, amazing breakfast and I simply can not say enough about the wonderful staff. You simply can not go wrong picking this hotel.
Bestwestern hotel served a wonderful hospitality and services. Rooms were fully organised with all the facilties provided. it also serves an excellent facility of fitness centre. hotel staff handles with warmth and care. prakshay kapur is the best employee i have came across.
I truly enjoyed my stay here! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was very quiet, so definitely a great place for rest and relaxation. I found the rooms to be clean and cozy. The continental breakfast had so much variety and was very fresh. It definitely catered to everyone as there were many options to choose from. My overall experience was extremely pleasant and I highly recommend staying here whenever in town!
We were in town last week end and stayed at best western hotel. Our stay here was amazingly comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Location is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Taj Bistro inside the hotel is very nice. We are definitely going to stay here again on our next visit to Sudbury. Tina
My family and I checked in to Best Western hotel, Sudbury. It was an amazing experience! relaxed ambiance and the best quality service. The staff was great and really co-operative. the stay was pleasant and their service made the journey even more beautiful. Rooms, washrooms and all other areas of the hotel were super clean and pleasing to the eye. This is the best hotel to go for best service at amazing prices!!
Went down to Sudbury for a couple days with friends and stayed at this hotel. The rooms were maintained very well and clean. The staff made sure our stay was pleasant and accommodated our late check out. The price we paid for the hotel was also very good compared to other places we have stayed.
Stayed here last weekend with my family. What a wonderful, clean hotel, with great staff! - Rooms, beds and washroom were super clean. - Location was perfect for the reason of our stay. - Front desk and all other staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel, and will stay here again when in Sudbury.
Stayed 1 night. Rooms are OK and semi updated, the rest of the place is a dive. Parking does not existing unless you get there early and don't leave. 20 spots across the street. Lots of other places to stay in the same price range, this won't be a second third or fourth choice
This is our third overnight visit to this hotel. It suits us well. Good rooms, wifi cable tv, Breakfast. Staff are very friendly and prices are reasonable. Parking is not great being across the road. We will continue to use this hotel when coming to Sudbury on shopping trips.
The customer service experience was great. Especially thanks to Brakshay, the night auditor . He was professional and connected with us on more than a customer/ client level. I would recommend that anyone and everyone stay here.
Booked here for a couple of nights while on business. Parking is a joke. About 19 spots across street in a very tight parking lot. Under construction so no other spots. Didn't want to leave spot after parking for fear of not getting a spot upon return. Actually cancelled a night later in the week. Very small rooms. Stayed in North bay best Western last night and would definitely recommend. Won't stay here again. Too many better options in the area
The room was clean, but the tv remote stopped working, the air conditioner would not come on, only the fan, and in the morning there were only conditioner bottles in the bathroom and NO shampoo. We were very disappointed with this hotel.
We stayed during our road trip. The lobby is a bit old and I didn't like the parking being cross the street, but room nice and clean, good location, price is good, and service was wonderful. Will stay again.
When we called to book a room, from the road, we were told that this hotel had undergone a renovation. The room was a bit more pricey than we would have liked but we thought, "what the heck, a renovated hotel will be nice". Boy, were we wrong! The elevator was old and cranky and the carpets in the hallways were old and stained and smelly! There were toe big bags of garbage outside one of the rooms on our floor, and they were still there hours later. We did not get any sleep for doors banging and people coming and going all hours of the night. We could hear every word spoken in the room next door and the TV was on past 3 am. We called the front desk and they did come up and tell them to keep it down, but really, they should have the right to watch TV, as they are paying guests also. I cannot understand why they don't sound proof hotel rooms better. This could have been done while they were "renovating". We had a nine hour drive the next day and we had not slept! Check in and out staff were very indifferent. Breakfast was average.
Upon arrival, around 12am, our room smelled like cigarette smoke. We were so tired that we just slept in our clothes and left early in the am. We didn't take in the free breakfast either. Received a discount on our room though.
Beautiful and clean lobby, nice clean rooms. The hotel staff were very friendly and always trying to be helpful. They also have a wonderful hot breakfast. I simply can not tell you enough how much I enjoy this hotel.
I have stayed there multiple time. Excellent service rooms are always very clean and service is perfect. My advice ask for Prakshay assistance manger "should be a manager" young guy very friendly very fast at what he does and never complains if anything is needed he always provided us with the highest customer service.
Prakshay is an excellent staff member at Best western , he's a very plight and respectful gentlemen ...service is always %100 ! Good !Location is good it's in the are near by everything down town .. Parking also is provided :) come stay at the BEST WESTERN ??
I've stayed at this hotel a few times. Its a good Central location in Sudbury for my work. It's a bit of a sketchy neighborhood, but that's usually the case in most downtown centers throughout Canada. The Police station is right there so I'm sure it's safe enough. It's worth noting that there a new restaurant called the Taj Bistro that just opened. They were running a grand opening event last week and it was all you can eat for under 20 bucks...tax in. Its food is really good, it is family run and staffed and all of the employees were earnestly proud of their accomplishment in what they were offering. I was in town for 2 nights and ate there both nights. I felt it was important to write a review because I did some reading on trip advisor before my trip and it seemed like people were saying things about bad smell bad location and all that. The place is clean. I didn't smell any funny smells. I'm a non smoker, so my nose works pretty good. The staff are nice. 'nough said.
The best location for downtown Sudbury's entertainment district - - night life and dining all in walking distance. Very clean/newly renovated rooms. Very friendly and professional service, would high recommend this hotel. Complimentary breakfast was actually decent.
I stayed for 2 nights at the best western at sudbury and couldn't be left with a more fulfilling experience. The reception staff, in particular the night manager were very helpful and courteous. Large and comfortable rooms and awesome location. Great housekeeping, breakfast and wifi service throughout. Would love to return.
Was in town for a friend's wedding and we spent 2 nights at the best western. The rooms were very spacious, and clean. The staff was friendly throughout our visit. We woke up for the hotel breakfast both mornings and found that there was a wide variety of selection. Overall we were pleased with our stay.
my experience at this hotel was good until the 3-11 shift showed up and unexpectedly started staring at my wife inappropriately and making comment about her looks and following her threw the hotel we travel a lot and my wife is now scared of her well being to stay at such hotel. the only postive outcome from my stay at the hotel was the night shift who was more then helpful with everything we needed and always kept a positive attitude during his shifts.
This was a very quirky hotel. Some may like this, but not me. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, so nothing wrong with the service. But I found it hard to find the hotel, and parking really inconvenient. You can either park across the street where it was full and the stalls are very very small, or the underground parking garage that is not connected to the hotel, so a bit of a walk through a dark parking garage and around the building with my luggage. Which was not fun for me being a female travelling alone. There was also a lot of drunk loiterers around. It's an older hotel, so I found it had that old hotel smell. I'm not sure what else is in Sudbury since I was just passing through but I would not want to stay there again, at least not by myself.
Very disappointed in this hotel. Very short staffed (nice people though). The front desk person was also the breakfast person, and the customer service person ie if needing towels etc. one day the bed was not even made or towels replaced even though we were out all day. It's a downtown location but no stores, decent restaurants around this area apparently everything in New Sudbury nice hotels, restaurants and shopping malls . The Fitness room was dilapidated treadmill and bike were not usable, mats were very dirty. The hotel is older and run down making it look dirty even though there was cleaning happening. We used Airmiles to pay for our 3 night stay but it was a waste of points.
Staff is very friendly, had a smooth checkin and checkout experience. Great location and I thought the gym has everything you need! The front desk was very helpful in recommending places to eat in the area. I have stayed here multiple times now and the service never changes - no need to book anywhere else!
-Friendly, informative, efficient Staff -Clean rooms, elevator and hallways could be cleaner. -Great breakfast with hot options -Walking distance to many downtown sites like Farmers Market, Rib Fest and Restaurants. -Fridge and Microwave in rooms
I was actually surprised not in good way. The bathroom had a horrible mildew smell that generated throughout the whole room. Air conditioner didn't work properly. Where the hotel is located is in a very shady area.
My husband and I had an opportunity to stay at this hotel recently and overall we quite pleased with it. The location was good but maybe a little difficult to navigate initially given the address is one street and the entrance on another. Parking is free which is nice but I wonder what they do when they are full because there isn't much of it and it is outside. The room was clean and comfortable and we were pleased. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Unfortunately the airconditioning wasn't working properly and kept turning itself off even though it was set on a very cool setting leaving the room much warmer than we like for sleeping. Breakfast was included and looked good with a variety of options but the room was so hot we couldn't sit long enough to enjoy it and just had coffee. The front staff were great and super helpful in suggesting places to eat. I wish I could remember her name, she was sweet and we were very pleased with her service. We definitely would come back again, thanks Best Western
No assistance was offered for my handicapped wife except to be told to take a cart across the street to parking lot Strong odors in lobby was surpassed by stronger odor in elevator.Strongest odors awaited in the room. With such strong odors, I checked the AC filters and they were dirty. Exhaust fan in bathroom was plugged with dirt. Electrical outlet covers were broken. Room was so bad that we slept on top of blankets with our street clothes on. By 3am, my wife was having trouble breathing and we had to leave.Parking is so cramped that it was a 15min ordeal to get out on the street. E-mails to Christine were never answered.Worst hotel in our journey across Canada
Not a modern hotel but overall facility is pretty good. The breakfast area is very neat and relaxing. Walking distance to bus terminal Must stay if you play Pokemon Go (a Gym right at the hotel and 3 poké stops at the park across the road)
The rooms are older and not great. We had significant issues with the A/C in our room, and were up until 1am trying to get the issue resolved. Unfortunately we couldn't get it working and they didn't have another room, so we had a horrible experience trying to sleep in 30C+ degree weather in a room with little to no A/C. The location is also an issue. I really did not feel great leaving my car parked across the road from the hotel with people walking through the parking lot constantly. We were offered a full refund for our issues, but somehow when it came down to it being issues, it was a minimal refund that was actually given. I really dislike being promised one thing, and then having something else actually happen. We were honestly looking for a new hotel chain that we could stay at comfortably, however after this experience, Best Western is definitely not it. I don't recommend staying here at all.
I have called the sudbury location 7 times now. Clearly they do not have competent staff working at the front desk. My credit card was charged, my husband asked to switch to put on his credit card, and it was charged, and then we paid cash the next day. We asked if we would be reimbursed, and they guaranteed it. So we paid for 3 nights, when we only stayed one. My husband finally got his credit card reimbursed, and they still have not reimbursed mine. I called my credit card company and they will be disputing the charge. So frustrating to be told that you will get your $$ back, and it's been 3 weeks, and no refund. Beware everyone. Absolutely appalled that I have to deal with this.
a very enjoyable night in Sudbury - hotel room was spotless, staff were pleasant and a reasonable breakfast was included with our room..no complaints about the quality of the hotel, location, or experience. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable place to stay while visiting Sudbury, Ontario
no restaurant/bar in the hotel (as stated) as it was under construction. very pleasant overworked staff. free parking across the street was very small with large trucks parked in tight spaces making it difficult to maneuver. room was nice however bathroom and amenities were just okay. wouldn't stay there for any length of time but was okay for the 2 nights. we needed to be downtown.
Decent hotel but location is a problem. Downtown Sudbury can be a bit seedy with lots of street people asking for handouts. Near to CityHall and several government buildings and the downtown municipal park. Just a couple hundred metres from Sudbury Arena, the bus terminal and shopping. Ten/15 minutes drive to Science North and Dynamic Earth. About 15/20 minutes to shoppng malls in N. Sudbury and the same to Trans Canada Hwy. Hotel needs an facelift but was clean, well managed and staff was friendly and helpful. Well priced. Continental Breakfast was adequate but the restaurant was under renovations and closed when we were there. Due to re-open soon. I walked outside in the evening and early in the morning with no incidents except for some polite panhandlers (beggars) but my wife felt uncomfortable. Downtown in most cities can be unnerving when dark. Unless you have business downtown, I would suggest a hotel a bit farther away, if you want to explore the surrounding area.
Terrible hotel. Do not stay at this location. So many better options in Sudbury. Hotel old and needs up grading. Rooms smell and beds are ancient. Do not waste your money. Breakfast was cold and staff Un aware that items had been depleted.
Good location in downtown, Free parking, good wifi speed, Professional staff and kind-express check out. wonderful day with great service. I will stay this hotel again and recommend this hotel. room is very well equipped and comfy beds
Now admittedly the hotel was under renovation. Fortunately the bed was comfortable but the complimentary items had not been refilled including toilet tissue. I think there was about 1/2 and inch on one roll, no spare. The worst was watching a maintenance man fill his buckets at the sink in the breakfast room. Could have at least waited until folks had left. More expensive than the nicer BW we stayed at the night before. Downtown rough, not much around in terms of restaurants, etc. Won't return.
We spent three nights at the BW. The room was clean , the bed comfortable, the breakfast ok. The neighborhood is sketchy but there is nice place to eat around there. The parking is free but not very spacious. We would recommend it if you are on a budget.
professional staff and kind-express check out.Feel home Quiet place.easy access to everywhere. Parking pretty close.walk out to down town lots of live stuff around it. hot breakfast and variety choices. clean and neat rooms and service
good location, prices in line with the local market. The government offices are in the area and this hotel has many corporate guests. Therefore, the prices are not low. Staff was friendly. Parking is available, free of charge.
Vena and her team always deliver a great overall experience at this downtown location in Sudbury. The rooms are newly renovated and are extremely comfortable. The hot breakfast is very convenient when staying for business or for pleasure. Thanks!
Excellent stay, good location, bed quality was excellent Went to the Ontario Hog Rally last week in July -- 5 minutes ride from events. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again. Thanks Best Western Hotel Sudbury
Not very good. The hotel is undergoing renovations and is not properly prepared for guests. Staff tries but does not seem to be able to cope. The breakfast area was very marginal and the maintenance crew used the kitchen sink to get water for their cleaning. The maid 'forgot' to give us proper supplies 2 days in a row. The parking is almost non existent, but free.
The hotel is located in downtown Sudbury. There is parking across the street and some limited parking behind and beside the hotel in a little alley. My intuition said not to park in the alley and I was proved correct as the next morning the vehicle of one of the guests had things stolen from it overnight (next building over appears to be a police station!). The room is comfortable and clean and everything worked but the air conditioner. We had to turn the AC to maximum or else it would just cut out after about 10 minutes. It was noisy and annoying - bring ear plugs. The breakfast was the usual BW fare. The eggs were overdone and were just clots of yellow - not very appetizing. Would I stay here again - maybe - if I didn't have to use the AC and made sure I parked across the street.
My son and I checked in for the long weekend and the staff was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. Even though it is right downtown, I found it very quiet. The rooms are very clean and updated and the continental breakfast was fantastic. We will continue to stay here when we travel to Sudbury.
Room was very well appointed, but very, very tight. Two people can't walk around at the same time. The staff were nice and pleasant to deal with. Breakfast was acceptable, with a fairly good selection for everyone. The coffee was good quality. Being a bit of a coffee connoisseur, I enjoyed several cups. The one issue was the parking. Parking was very tight and at a minimum. There was several young people hanging around the parking lot at all hours of the day and night, appearing to be stealing the hotal Wi-Fi. Because this was very disconcerning, I went out several times to keep eye on the car. I should feel secure about my well being and my car, but was definitely not. It seemed to be a seedy part of town and there was a homeless shelter across the road, so I didn't cross the street at any time. We were booked in for 2 days, but after 1 night decided we would be better off at another hotel. We will not ever be back to this hotel because of this. There is a police station one block away, but only ever saw 1 cruiser up past this way. It's a real shame, because it is a nice hotel, but in a bad, bad location.
front desk personnel very helpful and lovely I want to marry her but my wife wouldn't let me. Our bed and pillows felt like they were just purchased along with the linen and towels. The room was very quite and well appointed, microwave, tv, wifi, coffee maker
Our room was changed at the last minute due to a lighting issue and we were given an end room that was very large. Big bathroom with jetted tub, however the jets didn't look that clean so we did not use it. Typical breakfast, lots of choices, waffles, eggs, cereals, breads, fruit, etc. Most places in the area close down early in the evening. Nice park across the street.
I checked in with my 9 year old daughter for a 2 night stay. The room was exceptionally clean. I left a note after the first night about how many towels, shampoos and conditioners we require for the next day and housekeeping obliged. Asked front desk for restaurant suggestions and they got on the front desk computer to help me find what I needed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Sudbury area. Very close to both Dynamic Earth and Science North.
By far the most run down best western we've set foot in. The front desk clerk was swearing and making fun of the clients served before us. Took over 3 hours to get our roll away bed. The elevator looks like it was used in American horror stories hotel ash the counter was broken and poorly repaired the toilet bowl was barely attached.
Nice downtown location and the Nicest Best Western I have stayed in. There is Great food within walking distance away. Nice people at the hotel all around. Motorcycle friendly. And even the price was within reason.
Checked in late and all paper work was ready and front end staff members was very friendly. Room was very clean and bed was amazingly comfortable. NO complaints. Lots to choose from in the continental breakfast area.
We like walking everywhere to really experience the place we're staying in. This is the third time we've stayed at this Best Western because it's close to everything (Including the Northern Lights Festival) and is perfect for walkers. It is also the quietest hotel we've ever slept in!
It is very clean. We received a quick check-in with a surprise free breakfast. I used the CAA discount which gave me 10% off. With the cheap price and the decent room, I just can't complaint. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Looks a little run down on the outside and lobby/hallway areas but the rooms are alright. There's a police station nearby and saw lots of cop cars rolling down the street. Good enough for a one night stay
Decided to stay at this hotel on our way to Sault Ste Marie. I should have kept driving. Price was high for what we received - the hotel is in a run down area of town - bus station one block away, and a shelter is right across the street with the nightly boarders hanging around literally 20 yards from the hotel entrance. Nothing in the area - no restaurants. The rooms were well done! Once inside the room, it was great!
Like other Best Western hotels, the Sudbury hotel has an attractive lobby and the rooms are pleasant and clean and the bathroom very attractive. There is a business office with free computer access. On the negative side, the air conditioning in our room kept cutting out unless it was turned to max. It was very noisy and then ran almost continuously. It almost seems this hotel is trying to get by "on the cheap"; ex, only 2 flimsy plastic glasses in total in our room. Best Western's usual hot complimentary breakfast was offered but pans (notably the scrambled eggs) were not refilled. There were waffle and pancake makers but waffles seemed heavy. Just not the usual good breakfast I expect at Best Western. A disappointing stay.
Great people. Great service. I'll recommend this Hotel to my friends, colleagues. There was an employee who helped me to find the food I wanted. She went beyond her duty. Clean, quiet and overall great.
After driving for 6 hours we don't want to stand in an empty lobby for 15 minutes with a permanent apology sign on the desk saying the manager is helping another guest. Looking for the manager we found the breakfast room with dirty dishes from the morning. The phone rang nonstop while we waited and after she came she juggled is with calls as best she could. The upgrade to a suite meant a large room that was well furnished and had a two part bath with all amenities. The room had some wall paper coming up and we did find a couple of bugs. Location in downtown has free parking.
First off, had someone open my truck door while checking in, but anti-theft kicked in.....bad part of town, and secondly if you drive anything bigger then a Yaris (tiny compact) then stay elsewhere, Parking here is horrible, sat in my truck one night and watched 3 cars get hit from ppl trying to cram into this tiny parking lot.
ac don't work, all my luggage was gone through today, june 7 2016. 2 day stay, I told front desk attendant at 7 am tyhis morning the ac did not work, now 9pm and not fixed, they wont give me another room. terrible attitude at the counter day and night. manager will not talk to me.
The room was small but clean and acceptable for 1 or 2 nights. The breakfast was exceptional -lots of healthy choices. The location was great. It was close to many restaurants and there was no need to drive.
Good price obtained online. Large room with big flatscreen TV, very comfy beds, big bathroom, pleasant staff, nice breakfast. Recently renovated although it would have been nice to raise the bathroom counter! Negatives were few parking spaces out back, rest across the street. Blackout drapes don't completely cover. Not sure if it's quiet - we travel with white noise generator. Also, this center city location was deserted on Sunday at 6 Pm when we arrived. Not much around. Salvation Army across the street but that didn't bother us.
This hotel should be half the price we paid. ($135 plus tax plus fees) over $150 all in. On arrival the elevator was out of order, walking to the 4th floor up an external staircase in temperatures above 25 degrees was next to impossible due to my health issues. This area of town has a fair number of "undesirables" open staircases made me nervous. The man on reception did help by carrying a bag. Arriving in the room, it was hot. The AC would only run for 2 minutes then quit. The thermostat would click to switch on but wouldn't run. Thermostat read 74. Looking inside the unit, it was clogged with decades of dirt, explaining its inoperative state, and possibly the presence of untold bacteria and viruses. We opted for the noisy fan to blow the hot air around, the windows don't open so we felt trapped, as if in a hot car. We contacted the man on reception, he said he would come and review, but after an hour he had not shown up, and, as it was almost midnight and we had a morning appointment we went to bed. The bedding is part polyester, which added to the misery by trapping heat and sweat in the bedding. Which hotel in today's day and age does not use 100% cotton bedding? Gross. In the morning, the bathroom sink did not hold water, I suspect a faulty seal on the plug. My partner found shaving to be a new challenge. As well, the hairdryer in the bathroom would not work, necessitating another trip downstairs for a new one. When I got it back to the room, the power cord was secured behind the mounting plate, and required a screwdriver to remove. I don't carry one, do you? We packed to leave and stopped at the breakfast area for a quick breakfast, but the line ups were around the room, apparently a full hotel cannot justify the staffing to operate it. Had I read the trip advisor reviews prior to booking I would not have. It appears many of these issues are long standing, and somehow I doubt the managers assurance that they will be looked into. I add this opinion to others on Tripadvisor with the recommendation that travelers to Sudbury stay anywhere but here. From this experience alone, I will avoid Best Western as an hotel option in future.
Very disappointed in this hotel. The price we paid per night was exhorbitant for the quality we received. The area this hotel is in is not a very good area. The building itself is old and outdated. The parking area was scary! The lobby was clean, but small. Our room, while clean, was small and outdated and had a musty odour to it. The ventilation system didn't seem to work very well. I would comment on the continental breakfast, but we were given the wrong breakfast times and missed the breakfast by 10 minutes. The amenities are very few for the price you pay. This hotel is OK for business travel if you are only going to sleep there, as the beds were the one decent thing about the place. I would not recommend this hotel for a family stay. There is nothing for kids to do and the area is not a great one.
The Best Western is well located in downtown Sudbury. The parking is included, but is not ideal; a very limited number spots in the hotel's crowded courtyard, and the rest of the spots are across the street. The room was clean and comfortable, but the walls are paper-thin. I could clearly here my neighbour conversing on the phone at 11:00 PM. All-in-all, for the price I paid and the location, I rate it a good value.
The staff was ok and the hotel could use a bit of an upgrade, but it was clean and close to a medical office so it was a good fit for a short stay. I probably would not stay longer than an evening though. The breakfast was great addition for an early morning departure.
Good hotel for the value - friendly helpful staff. The bed sheets were not of the same quality that I am used to in the BW Plus hotels and the bottom sheet does not stay tight, but that is not a deal breaker. The washroom is pretty tight in the single queen room but was clean and in good condition.
Good location in downtown Sudbury, limited tight parking spaces. Convenient to get to sight seeing and restaurants. People are friendly. Community is very nice and supportive of local events such as marathon and parc du Bell is a great place to walk and see
Hotel rate was disputed at check in. Foul smell in the elevator and hallway all week. Dirty toilet plunger left in hallway infant of elevator for all to admire. Check out staff rather pushy about giving positive reviews and suggesting high numbers. Over all a fine hotel stay if the rate dispute hadn't occurred. Went over budget as a result. Can't justify staying there again without a regular corporate or crew rate.
Staff are nice and good service but the hotel is old and the rooms are old. Also it used to have smoking in the rooms and they smell bad. They do not offer dry cleaning or have a restaurant or food available to buy. They did offer a free breakfast which had some hot options.
Although this is a tad awkward when it comes to parking, the hotel itself and the staff are top notch! Breakfast is reasonably priced and prepared well and dinner is within walking distance to many restaurants and pubs. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
I stayed about two months in the city of Sudbury for some business. i have changed 3 hotels before settling in best western. The other hotels were either too expensive or the services were too modest. Best western was a good match between both......friendly staff....fantastic location....good breakfast in a good timing
Good and comfortable stay. Should like to stay here again. Location is good and well connected in terms of Banks and Restaurants. Hotel Staff is very approachable.Internet was good.Breakfast quality was also nice.
Booked the stay on my points, but clicked the wrong date. The staff fixed the reservation for me and upgraded my room to fit what they had available. Excellent service, highly recommended. Nice stay in the Presidential Suite.
You know when your in a hotel that looks like at one time it WAS a really nice hotel??? This IS the place. OMG! This place really smells just like a port-a-potty! Even the elevator stinks AND it has a fan! It's so lame with the worst parking and a broken elevator. Oh, it goes up, but if you're on the fifth floor??? You have to call to get the desk person to send it up to you. This isn't a recent emergency break either. There's a sign posted in the elevator that you can tell has been up for some time. I moved mid week to another hotel because the Best Western was SO bad... The carpets, the hallways and the lobby ALL smelled old and musty. I live in hotels for work and this is one I can say for sure should NOT be visited.
The hotel was okay if you had to stay in the center of the city. Cleaner than I was expecting and breakfast was pretty good. Definitely rooms were small, no water pressure in sink, shower was okay. It was tolerable, but preferred the Radisson from a previous trip. Same price but much better value.
We were in town for a Micro Brewery Festival which was a short cab ride from the hotel. The rooms were clean and updated. The halls still smell a little of stale smokes but its not too bad. The hotel is down the street from the arena and close to plenty of restaurants. The best part by far was the bed! It was probably the comfiest bed we have ever slept on.
Their rooms are newly renovated and the beds are very comfortable. WIFI is excellent. The owner or manager is very friendly and helpful. Towels are on the small side but not an issue unless you are used to the large bath towels at premium hotels. Because it is an older building the sound proofing between rooms allows you to hear voices in the next room, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be a good choice for you. Their free breakfast was good. Their workout room has a good variety of equipment although the treadmill looked a bit worn. The parking lots are a bit small in winter when there is a lot of snow but it appeared everyone could find a place to park
The newly renovated rooms are lovely and the pillow-top beds so comfortable. Their breakfast has a wide variety of options, like fresh waffles & scrambled eggs, yogurt and fruit. The staff are very friendly and I was actually able to figure out how to use the television!
My wife and I had a pleasant stay, staff were eager to help.We will stay here again in the future. It is good to stay at a hotel where service still is a priority.Again my wife and I had a pleasant stay and our nights rest was great.
Fantastic stay. Parking is minimal, however, I did secure a spot. Close to all amenities in the Downtown area. Clean rooms and great General Manager who goes out of her way to make your stay pleasurable
Heater broke in middle of night with kids you do not want pair ppl or switch rooms. No parking for our bus, powdered eggs for breakfast. Vina was great and tried to make everything good but... one of our rooms had big yellow stain on mattress, fitness room has multiple broken machines.
Best place to live in sudbury, staff is really helpful, location is perfect, nice and quite place with lots of amenities like gym, breckfast and internet. i will say perfect place to stay and enjoy in sudbury
Great place to stay, was there on business and will stay there again when ever I go back to Sudbury. Good service, friendly staff. Overall very recommendable. Great value. If only their was a little less snow in Sudbury...
I was warmly welcomed to the hotel and my room was updated since i was here last with modern hotel furniture. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Next time I wouldn't agree to a room next to the elevator though because i could hear every time it went up & down. The sound of the fan for the heat blew a little too loud & sometimes woke me up.
Great room and kind service. The staff was welcoming from arrival through departure. I was from out of town and they helped connect me with transit and food during my stay. I found the room clean and quiet. The bed was comfy.
First of all the location it terrible, theres hotel parking across from the hotel but, theres barley any spots. After checking in I went up to my room, this room had a very strong perfume smell. Usually I'm not sensitive to smells but, after being in this room for less then 5 minutes I had a headache coming on. I went to the lobby to get another room. As soon as I walked into the lobby the women at the front desk asked me if something was wrong. i was very confused. The next morning I went down for the free breakfast. I grabbed some eggs and a few mini waffles, I couldn't eat the eggs at all and the mini waffles were very dense. I really could tell they weren't fresh. while getting my breakfast I noticed the women who asked me what was wrong was watching me. While was checking out I noticed a sticky note on the card in the front desk for my room, it said, these guest may have a dog. there was no way I could possibly brought my dog! I do not recommend anyone staying here.
-it was a great experience i love everything about it the rooms were so nicely done and the food was amazing 5/5. Some hotels just don't have the perks this best western did. The service was amazing there right there when you need them. The rooms look amazing to die for and also the beds are so comfy!
Another great visit to the Best Western. I recently stayed the night at the Best Western in Sudbury at 151 Larch Street. I have been travelling to Sudbury this last 17 years through business and have stayed at the Best Western in Sudbry always for a good reason. The rooms are well kept and the staff and management are great. Always smiling faces. They make you feel like family. If you are staying in Sudbury sometime I would advise the Best Western at 151 Larch Street.
Was nice to have the same girl Melanie checked me in and checked me out, was great to deal and easy to talk to. was great location, great walking distance to everything . Breakfest was good, love the idea of hot food. The price was a little costly for what seems to be renovations they are doing, they should maybe bring down the price for rooms while they are in the middle of renos. Also maybe look into the heating system in rooms , the one in my didnt seem to be working right. All in all I would come back , hopefully all renos are done by then.
This hotel was acceptable for a one night stay to attend a funeral. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little run down. The heating system had two settings, too hot or cold, in spite of the adjustable controls. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast.
My girlfriend and I recently were victims of a fire on Jan 1st 2016. The red Cross put us up in the QUALITY INN Downtown Sudbury for 72 hours, where I was treated with very little respect from the front desk and upon entering my room it was freezing and stayed cold threw out my stay. It was a non smoking hotel but the hallways smelt strong of cigarette. After the 72 hours we came to the BEST WESTERN at 151 LARCH ST. Sudbury and noticed a big difference the moment we stepped into the building. The Woman working at the front desk was very helpful upon arrival as we had no reservations. Her name I believe is VINA. She helped my girlfriend and I to get a room fast, so we could get out of the cold. The room was beautiful and it was very warm. The beds and pillows felt brand new and extremely comfortable. Anything I needed I could ask VINA and would be helped with a smile and she was very polite while speaking with us. VINA also organized a beautiful continental breakfast and it was amazing with fresh coffee and orange juice. over all it was a fantastic hotel too stay at and much worth the price of the room. very reasonable.
my family had to spend a night at this location, we found staff very helpful and location was very central to all amenities. There were good food places nearby and we found the rooms clean and big, cant complaint, will recommend and go back to this location
Cozy atmosphere of a boutique hotel with the services of a much larger hotel.Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms looked recently upgraded and bed was very comfortable. Great location right downtown .
I got a free upgrade for a queen to king size room, which was appreciated. The gym is small but have everything I need for a training. One problem: the television was not working ! But I never listen it and did not ask to repair that. The services was very friendly and fast. This is not a new hotel... but clean and for a business trip the quality/price ratio was perfect for me.
Stale odor throughout hotel. Pillows well worn and needed replacement. Internet completely open allowed several hacker attacks that my laptop security stopped but this interfered with getting work done. Basic things missing in room on check in. Just not what I expected from Best Western. Will not return next time in Sudbury.
Lobby was welcoming. Room décor has been updated and was exactly like the pictures but room was very small. We had one queen bed and even 2 adults in the room made it seem squishy. Did not partake in the continental breakfast. It was nice to be able to walk to restaurants and shopping in the neighbourhood. Parking was a problem. There are about 5 spots behind the hotel and a small lot across the street. We went out and when we arrived back in the evening, it was full. The neighbourhood is a bit sketchy at night – I had two men making vulgar comments towards me as I crossed the street. I believe there is a shelter across the street and these men were hanging out outside of it. Although there was nothing wrong (except the parking) with the hotel, I probably wouldn't stay here again.
The location is very central and convenient. Parking is a bit tight because the parking lots are small. The rooms are clean and comfortable, recently renovated; not luxury, but very pleasant and businessy. Breakfast is basic but sufficient, considering the reasonable nightly rate. Staff was friendly.
People in next room were very loud and arguing. Walls are paper thin. We did not call front desk over this issue as at 2:45 am, my husband banged on the wall and they quieted down. We could also hear others as they used their telephone. It is an older hotel. Breakfast was provided however not hot and coffee was weak. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The location was the determining factor for our choice. Nicest staff we have encountered at hotels. Parking was also extremely close for us and we were told that cameras were there so we had no concern over our vehicle while parked.
Hotel was OK but nothing special. Breakfast bar unexciting. Not a very good value for the price. Noisy street, especially early in the evening. Location downtown likely more suitable for business traveler.
The staff especially Sara and Christina always go out of their way to make you feel at home. Its nice to come to breakfast and to be welcome by you first name. The location is terrific if you have business downtown.
I'm always impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the rooms each time I stay here. The location is great being right downtown near the bus terminal so it's easy to get around town. I've never had any major issues.
The furniture and bedding looks all updated. But the bed isn't very comfortable. The toiletries look like their from the dollar store. It's the finishing touches that are missing. Lights didn't work except for two bulbs of the 6 in the room. The makeup mirror in the bathroom looked like it was from the 80's including the plug. Very scary. When you walk the hallway it was very dated, dirty and smelly. Then you enter the rooms and they're all done except for the things I mentioned. You can see the work is being done but the small details show the hotel will probably fall into disrepair before it's completed. Not sure if it's staffing choices or money. But I would suggest before they keep updating they try to maintain what they have. Lipstick on a pig comes to mind.
i enjoyed my stay, i see they are under renovations, they should have more signs up explaining what has been done etc... or they should be spending a bit more time renovating the hotel as quick as possible. all in all the stay was great , no issue booking over the phone. when checking in the smile and energy that i got when walking into the lobby was great, believe her name was melanie or melissa. i hope to visit sudbury again so my family and myself can make out way back to the best western hotel . hope to see all renovations complete.
Not sure were other people have been staying, pretty sure it wasn't here. Right at entering the lobby the windows were dirty and the carpet was dirty and stained. The elevator had the numbers changed on the buttons by hand, for some reason there is no second floor. The elevator it self was in bad state of repair, with dirt and stains on the carpet there as well. The floor to our room had dirt in hallways and peeling wallpaper, frayed and loose carpeting. The room was small and not very attractive. The bathroom was dirty, and dark, tap from the 70's not clean, no soap dish , or cup on the bathroom counter. Two small soap bars in wrapper looked really old and the wrappers were dirty, the small complimentary shampoo bottle looked like it was used by someone before. the bottom of the bathtub was yellowed and stained. mold growing in the soap dish in the shower wall. A very old dial heat lamp, that had little to no heat coming from it. A lumpy bed, and a poor attempt at a breakfast buffet in the morning topped things off.
Great Stay at the Best Western. Clean large room. Continental breakfast with great coffee. Cleaning staff member Christine went out of her way to change our room when we were booked next to a room with a barking dog! Her assistance, attitude & friendly smile made our stay!
I wasn't happy that the hotel charged $200 deposit for the night, although it was refunded when we checked out, but still left a bad taste of things. Most hotels that we been to doesn't do something like that. The bed sheet was very rough with numerous cotton balls. There were signs in the hallway that its under renovation, but no work has been done. I think they should invest in buying new bed sheets instead of doing the renovation.
From check in to check out - things were amazing. The staff - at any time of day or night - were always ready with a smile. I had been staying at the Super 8 in Sudbury and it was a real treat to transfer over to the Best Western while awaiting the release of my Dad from the Sudbury hospital. Overall what can I say - ignore the under construction signs.... there was no evidence nor incovenience due to ongoing improvements! My little 4 yr old son especially loved the logs i.e. the decorative pillow on each comfy bed. My sister and I were so appreciative to be able to book joining rooms. The beds were so well made up, presentable and inviting. And I had the best sleep! The bathrooms have obviously been refurbished and it shows. Makes me want to do a refurb on my own bathroom as I did not know wood could be so appealing! Our night was quiet and we appreciated our rooms with a view of our vehicles and were glad to be reassured that our vehicles would be safe and sound as not only is the parking lot well-lit, but it helps that the Police station is just next door. Overall, it truly was a pleasure to be a guest here that one night and I do dare say it does rival the Hilton Homewood Suites in the comfort and value department.
waited over 15 minutes for front desk attendant to show up. Took 30 min to check in. Others were ahead of me waiting as well. Hotel not clean, hallways were a disaster, I assume due to renovations. Head board had visible hand prints on it. In spite of all this, the beds were clean & the mattresses super comfortable!
Room was good and bed great; breakfast good; parking a challenge (safety?); building supposedly under renovation and it clearly needs it but no sign of work being done. We did not visit local venues or sights so cannot comment on location benefits. Price was reasonable but given state of renovation maybe not as competitive as it could be.
Upgrades were made but they seemed a bit shotty or just an overlay. There was paint print marks on the door, the sink was clearly not replaced so it didn't fit in. The bed was definitely comfortable and the sheets were good. But the AC wasn't working and I could clearly hear the people next to me. The front desk was super friendly and the breakfast was good. The stay was fine but I expected something a bit different from Best Western. It is a big company.
We stayed at the Best Western for a wedding and got what Best Western offers best - a large, clean room and wonderful front desk customer service. Vena was excellent. She upgraded us for no charge and provided excellent local advise. The area appears very dodgy. The area was like a ghost town if not for the questionable people wondering around. However, with the police station across the street there were no problems at all. Would definitely stay here again
I enjoy staying at Best Western as they provide good value for your money. This particular location was quiet and comfortable, but was lacking in parking. We were able to park a moving van out on the street for free however until 7am when metered parking takes effect.
