    « Charming hotel »

We have stayed in this hotel previously but not for some time. Although this was only a one night stay, it brought back happy memories. The check in was well organised and, although there was a problem with the room we were originally allocated, the very pleasant receptionist was most apologetic and speedily and efficiently checked us in to another room. This was spacious, comfortable and had lovely decor. We only used the restaurant for breakfast but this was freshly cooked and served by a friendly and attentive waitress. Another of the receptionists handled our check out and again, was very efficient and apologetic regarding the problem we encountered. One minor criticism, relates to workmen arriving in the morning to fit replacement windows. Whilst recognising that properties need maintenance, prior warning of this would have been appreciated as there was some noise. However, I would like to congratulate the team for their attentiveness.

    « Perfect Wedding Venue »

We had our wedding here yesterday (12.05.18) and it was perfect. The food was outstanding and the staff were so helpful. But on top of all that Dani was amazing! She helped us with our wedding and made sure everything went so smooth. Didn't have to worry about a single thing as she was on top of everything! We also had the privilege to stay in the bridal suite (room 23) and it was gorgeous. The bed was super comfy and in the bathroom was a heated towel rail (lush!). There were tea and coffee making facilities and then also room service. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything the venue and Dani did for us. It was a perfect day (minus the rain!). « Weekend break »

Lovely hotel, our room was clean , warm and comfortable with a great power shower very welcome after a day walking. The breakfast was lovely, and the evening menu extensive and tasteful. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The hotel is well positioned for walking into town and the nature reserve. Would certainly recommend.

« Poor value for money and not up to the normal Best Ewstern standars »

I paid £90 (room only) for a "superior" room and stayed in room 3. It was okay but there was nothing superior about it. The bathroom had no heating and was cold, the bathroom lighting was totally inadequate and it didn't have a proper shower. No bathrobes, no chocolates, not even a bottle of water. In what way was it superior? As it was Saturday, there was a disco somewhere in the hotel going thump, thump, thump until late into the night. The Indian food has been discontinued and the dinner menu was steaks or burgers and very little else, so we had to go into town to eat. We have stayed in best western hotels quite often and this is the worst so far.

« Great apart from the noise at night »

We enjoyed our stay here apart from the fact that we were kept awake virtually all night from the noise of the kitchen extractor fan (room 3). It's a lovely hotel with a great bar and restaurant and helpful staff. Just wish our weekend hadn't been so badly affected by a lack of sleep.

    « Bar meal »

Had a lovely lunch time meal, I ordered a small meal and believe me it was large.Lovely fish and chips. Very nice staff, dog friendly . Would recommend it to anyone. Bar area does not have many tables and we arrived at 12.

« Stopped doing the Indian menu »

As the Indian menu was virtually gluten free and the best Indian in Skegness since the Bollywood up the road closed, we couldn't believe when we visited at the weekend that they have stopped doing it! So instead I then had a look on the normal menu which is very clearly marked with all allergens however all there was that was suitable for gluten intolerance was Gammon, liver or the expensive Steaks, the Lamb rump I occasionally had before when I wanted a change from the Indian has now also been taken off the menu, when we enquired we were told they had stopped doing the Indian and had taken the lamb off the menu, so as I don't like gammon or liver and I'm not a big enough lover of steak to pay the high price that it is and wouldn't be able the have the onion rings, we had to leave and find somewhere else that had a bigger selection of gluten free options to choose from! Such a shame as it is/was lovely and well presented good food!

    « Loved it »

This hotel is so well run. And the staff were very friendly. We only stayed 1 night and really enjoyed it. Our room was lovely (no hair dryer though). The food at breakfast and our evening meal was delicious. Plenty of car parking. Would definitely recommend it

    « What a lovely hotel »

Our visit was sadly to say goodbye to a dear friend but it was made easier by the lovely team at The Vine, we were looked after from the moment we arrived. So genuine and so caring. It was really appreciated. Thank you so much. I would not hesitate to recommend the Vine.

« OVERNIGHT STAY TO PICK FRIENDS UP NEXT DAY »

Arriving at hotel around 9.00pm at night there was still plenty of space in car park. Have been to this hotel five years ago. It has improved its appearance as there are no lifts as its a old property. The rooms have been upgraded with all modern amenities and very good wi-fi.It is a quiet hotel during the night to earn a good nights sleep as it is at the end of a drive way.The breakfast was as excellent just as it was the previous time, with a good selection.

« Great stay at the Vine Hotel »

This is a lovely hotel: friendly and helpful staff, lovely grounds and rooms and great food. Thoroughly recommend it as a base from which to explore Skegness and Gibralter Point, which both have beautiful beaches and unspoilt coastline.

    « A nice break »

Nice welcome back by some very busy staff. Excellent meals. But please can we have if we have to have any music different noise to BOOM BOOM while we are eating ? Apart from that we have no problems at all. And are already looking forward to returning when the weather is a little better

    5
    « Amazing Food »

    « Couldn't have asked for more! »

Right from the start of booking our accommodation with you,you couldn't have been more accommodating. We were travelling from Derbyshire over the Easter weekend and My husband, his friend and 9 year old son were cycling to Skegness for Charity. You were struggling for family rooms for us but popped an extra bed in the honeymoon suite for our daughter to sleep on.Thankyou. The accommodation was great,a beautiful room which was really clean and very comfortable bed.We ate both nights in the restaurant, where the food was faultless. There is definitely no need to eat out elsewhere in Skegness as I'm confident you won't find better.Over the two nights we all(7 of us) sampled many different foods off the menu which were all enjoyed immensely and a personal favourite of mine was a fantastic sizzling curry dish. The service we received from all the staff was amazing, nothing at all again was too much trouble and everyone had a very happy and friendly personality. We are looking to return again when the weather improves to try out one of your quirky outdoor pods but we will leave the bikes at home next time!Thank you

    « Great Easter Weekend »

We come to The Vine every Easter and it never fails to impress. Alina and her team provide such a warm welcome. The bedrooms are a good size and very clean. The bar is cosy in front of an open fire. The food is fabulous. We didn't bother going in to town - curry one night and bar food the next. Thoroughly recommend for families. See you next year!

    « Second Stay - Lovely Hotel »

Stayed here for an event on the 10th March. We were in the bridal suite which was lovely. The staff were amazing and the event went so smoothly. The food at the event was absolutely fantastic, the only criticism was that I couldn't eat it all!! Well worth a visit, the hotel is lovely, the staff are so helpful and the food is amazing

    4
    « Brilliant food but »

We stayed at the Vine from Friday the 16th March to Sunday 18th of March, first the good stuff, the food is fantastic best ever, the staff are lovely, but this hotel needs dragging into 2018 as it is the coldest hotel we have ever stayed at, in this day and age a hotel with no central heating is a big no, the weather took a down turn and our room was freezing, it did have an wall mounted electric radiator but this was simply not adequate, also the room had only normal sash cord windows single glazed a trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night was not a pleasant experience, this theme was the same throughout the building the main bar had simply a coal and wood fire but it was not adequate to heat the whole room so some areas were cold and draughty. This was the same in most locations in the hotel, also the lack of a residents lounge spoils the hotel there is nowhere to sit and read or just chill out in a comfy chair. We were assisted and helped by Alina the manager who supplied extra heaters for our rooms and assisted in other ways, she found us a table on the last night for the best Indian meal we have ever had, thank you Alina for all your help you certainly turned our stay around. To Summarise The rooms are very comfortable and newly refurbished The staff are friendly and helpful at all times All the food is of a superb standard, portions are big and quality is lovely. All this hotel needs is to sort out the heating and provide a residents lounge and we would certainly return, we are regular visitors to Skegness in summer we will stay at the vine, in winter we will certainly eat there, best food in town, just please sort these things, and you will have an unbeatable business Peter H Tate

    « Still amazing food »

We went in the bar area this time, and the room was lovely and cosy for a lunch. Food was excellent. I had the lambs liver, and it was wonderful. all our party had different things, and everyone said it was very good. will be going back

    4
    « Lovely room BUT »

A lovely room, the room was clean, bright and well laid out but the bed was not comfortable. The corridors were looking a little less than 100% but I would say that is in keeping with a period building like this.

    « Mother's Day - really fantastic! »

Well.... we have just got home, full to our brims! I can't say how really fantastic this experience was - unbelievable value for money. We paid £20 each for a 3 course meal, everything was cooked perfectly, great portion sizes, maybe a little too big. I don't know how they could do it for such little money. The service staff were really good too, a little rushed, but it was Mother's Day! There isn't anything more to say other than a rare pleasure to have enjoyed everything so much, well done to the teams!

    « 60th. Birthday Party »

Thank you to the Vine Hotel Skegness for making my 60th Birthday so special. Everyone there was so helpful and friendly both whilst sorting the party and on the actual evening. A lot of guests, including myself, stayed the night and the rooms were excellent. The accommodation was clean, beautifully decorated but still maintained the character and charm of the building, The disco provided was great and the buffet delicious. Thank you so much to everyone at The Vine for making my evening memorable and special.

« Traditional bar with sky sports »

Called in for a drink and sport and was pleasantly surprised how popular this bar is . Staff very attentive . Ruby's menu of Indian food was excellent . For a good hotel like this bar and food prices were good value . Really good atmosphere here .

    « Amazing Sunday lunch »

We came here for sunday lunch last week and the food was amazing,we had the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection with the most delicious cream and herb sauce, all the side vegetables are beautifully cooked also, with the cauliflower cheese and carrot mash being our favourites , the decor is beautiful in the restaurant and throughout the hotel and we visit very regularly, bringing our family from London here when they come up as it really does showoff the best of Skegness!

    « Afternoon tea »

I was with a party of 18 for afternoon tea , was looking forward to dainty sandwiches and fancy cakes on stands, am afraid was not to be , sandwiches were thick and fillings were different ( tuna and onion ) ( ham and mustard ) whether u liked mustard or not , all on long plates as were the cakes, not one stand in view, at 1st there was 1 bowl of cream between all of us until we asked for more , and am afraid the scones were so dry they were hard even with jam n cream on , this was my 2nd visit to the vine, 1st one was disappointing, as was this one and there won't be a 3rd .

    3
    « Cream tea »

We booked a cream tea at the vine for 18 people, the waiter was friendly but could not say the same about the waitress, who was rather abrupt and quite rude. During our tea the waiter sat with his friends on another table but made sure we didn't need anything else. When we had finished and he came to clear away our pots he asked if we had finished which we had but there we a few cakes left over, he picked them up and put them on his friends table and said ?here lads get stuck in?....... We were all gob smacked at what we had just witnessed, we had spent £12.50 per person and could not believe he gave our cakes away while we were still sat there. I hope you read this and maybe think before you do something so rude again!!!

    « Absolutely lovely »

Had the best Sunday dinner here that I've ever had! The waiters & waitress' could not do enough for us and the atmosphere was lovely.. All 20 of our party agreed that we would definitely go back I can not recommend this highly enough.

Lovely place and meals, very romantic. Haven't visited for a few years until recently, but feel so much safer in bedroom as bill is no longer manager! Lovely place for couples! Highly recommended by all my family from London!

« "Relaxing Birthday Break at The Vine" »

My Wife's 51st Birthday gave us an ideal opportunity to return to The Vine Hotel and once again experience High Levels of Service, Well appointed Room's and a Dining Room Experience to rival many top restaurants ! Room 1 is situated up one flight of stairs from the Reception and ideal for taking your luggage from the car and gives you easy access to the Dining Room for both Dinner and Breakfast. We did pre book Dinner as we were aware of the Hotel's growing reputation in the Area for its culinary offerings. My Wife endulged on the Scampi and I was transported to the Far East to once again be "Blown Away" with the quality of the Indian Food being served, their Chicken Dopiaza is as good as anything I have ever tasted !!. The attentive Staff compliment the Food to complete a Wondeful Evening Meal. Earlier in the afternoon on returning from Shopping My Wife and I sat aside a roaring Log Fire, it might have been freezing outside but the quaint Bar and open fire was so relaxing and just what we needed. A really comfortable nights sleep then down for a Full English it rounded off a Fantastic out of season break and My Wife has already booked a further stay in September for my Birthday !............Can't Wait.....Thank you Everyone at The Vine you gave My Wife a Perfect Birthday Present.

Dog friendly, roaring open fire, clean premises, friendly staff, not overpriced. We both had jacket potatoes with chilli con carne; delicious and not expensive! We shall definitely return. Can highly recommend.

    « Xmas day lunch »

This is our second xmas day lunch at the vine hotel ....i must say that both days were very nice the staff couldnt do enough for us the food was very nice but i feel i must add that the price difference from last xmas to this xmas was a tad much ... £20 more this year per head.We re booked for this year as we enjoyed last year so much and thought well its only once a year so treat ourselves .But i was a tad disappointed if im honest .We found the choice of menu was far better last year and also the room decor was more warming last year too. Having said this we still love the place and it will not deterr us from going for lots of food and drink in the future but thought we needed to express to you for future reference.Happy new year to you and all youre great staff .

    « Good night's sleep »

Stayed for just the one night whilst working in the area. My room was decent enough - no window with a view but I only needed a bed so I was not concerned. The room had all the necessities including a bed, tv, kettle etc. The bed was a decent size and had nice fresh linen on it. It provided a very satisfying nights sleep. The bathroom was a again decent size with bath, sink and wc and had nice clean linen and shampoo and shower gel included. Had dinner in the bar and the choices available were very good and included a seperate Indian offering and a pizza one as well. I plumped for a crab and crayfish macaroni cheese which was very satisfying. Breakfast was very nice and the sausage and black pudding were particularly good. Pleasant staff on reception, the bar and in thebreakfast room. All in all a decent stay but if I was holidaying I would check I had a room with an outlooking window.

    « Home from home! »

We called in for a snack at lunchtime. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We sat near a lovely roaring fire. Very cosy. The food was delicious. There was plenty of choice on the menu. They get very busy and for large groups, it could be better to book. Wheel chair friendly. A large free car park. Enjoy.

« Went for Sunday lumch »

Went to the Vine hotel for Sunday lunch. Very relaxing feeling to the restaurant. But of a wait for the food. Service very good, music could have been a lot better, food slightly over cooked for my liking.

    5
    « excellent customer service »

Recently attended a company christmas party. The hotel and food is very good. The staff are all very polite and attentive. I am almost completely deaf and the room we were in the subtitles did not work on tv so they moved us. Excellent service. We arrived late for breakfast and they still provided us with one. Really great staff and service particularly glynis on reception/ well done.

    5
    « A Birthday Present »

Absolutely Fantastic. A great welcome, as we walked in, I was presented with a Birthday Card from the staff!! Who were very friendly and helpful. The room number 21 was just great apart from one small niggle, the sound on the TV was not great, but we did not spend a lot of time watching it anyway. Meals were great and a good selection

    « Excellent value »

Been to skeggy for more years than I want to remember and always liked the look ?? of the Vine Hotel but could never afford to stay there with 3 children but now we said the kids have grown up let's do it and by golly we did only one comment and that is Fab-u-Lous

    « The Booths, Lincoln »

We had a family get together today in your bar area, which we was very grateful that you allowed our dog. Most amazing Sunday dinner we've had in a long time and staff were very friendly. Thankyou so much, we'll definitely be back.

« Nothing to write home about »

The hotel rooms are a little shoddy and need updating, furniture and facilities Are very basic and dated. Room service and rooms are expensive for what you receive. Would like more attention to detail and the basic added extras like room service, breakfast and so on to not be as expensive for guests. It does the job if you need somewhere in the area to sleep.

    « Relaxing stay »

Lovely big room and very clean best sleep I've had in a hotel plenty of choice on breakfast menu and was delicious as was the evening bar meal husband had curry said best he's tasted staff exstremley helpful and very friendly would recommend this hotel

    « A Wonderful Getaway »

We reserved a room due to us attending a function at the hotel. From checking in to departing everyone was most welcoming. A beautifully decorated, warm comfortable hotel with good sized rooms. The function was very well managed with great service and excellent food. A very pleasant change to be able to order a freshly cooked breakfast rather than line up at a buffet. A very comprehensive breakfast menu choice as well! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

    2
    « Sunday dinner »

My family and I came for Sunday dinner the weekend just gone, there were 10 of us in total so we appreciate waiting a while for food due to awkward orders and size of our party but after waiting a good hour for 4 starters to be brought to the table the children in our party were starting to get restless, the table next to us had been brought their starter and main before we even got our starters. When the mains came they weren't great, the lasagnes were tiny for the price and not of a great standard, the lamb was fatty, the roast potatoes were dry and you could have broke the table with the staleness of the Yorkshire pudding! We didn't order puddings for fear they wouldn't be with us until 4pm, altogether very disappointed with the meal and would not return for another Sunday dinner, but we have had some lovely bar meals here before

    « 60th Birthday »

Booked the vine as we were visiting family for a birthday weekend I booked 3 rooms and a table for 13 of us. When we arrived the receptionist was very helpful and professional and we found this with all the staff. The service, the food and the rooms were lovely would definitely book again. So thank you THE VINE for making our weekend so enjoyable..??

    « Exceptional Food »

Eaten Sunday lunch and from the Bar menu here many times. Can't stress enough how great Sunday lunch is! Other food we've eaten here just as good. Well done Chef and your team! The hotel itself is in a lovely setting and has a delightful faded charm about it. Not stayed here yet but would like to.

    « Great hotel »

Just returned from a one night stay and we really enjoyed it. We arrived too early for check in but we parked up and walked into Skegness. We went back after 2pm to check in, which was friendly and efficient. The room was spotless, quite a large bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities and a paper delivered in the morning if you require. Bar had a good choice of drinks, nice beer garden ( as it was lovely weather so we made the most of that). Meal good in the restaurant and breakfast was really great, with plenty of choice. We had the same waitress for both dinner and breakfast didn't catch her name but she was friendly and efficient.

    2
« It was ok but the ham hock was inedibly salty... and the response was more so! »

Having been on the receiving end of reviews, it always used to irk me if people, when asked if everything was ok, said "oh lovely thanks" then took themselves off to write a negative review without first giving the place a chance to rectify or respond. Thus, when asked at the end of the meal if everything was ok, we replied that it had all been great apart from the ham hock (triple piggy burger) which was inedibly salty, eyewateringly so, and could they perhaps ask the chef to taste it. We were not seeking recompense, nor were we loud or obnoxious about it - unlike the waitress (manageress??) who subsequently arrived, leaned over the bar and asked "who had the triple piggy". I replied it had been myself, and she proceeded to tell me that it was always like that as it was cooked in brine, and asked was I a local. Not knowing why that might be relevant and quite taken aback by her attitude towards us, I replied that no i was not. She said that she thought that I was, and assumed I had had it before, and had she known I wasnt she would have come and told me it was cooked in brine so would be salty! Several things astounded me about her statement - not least that If this is indeed the standard proceedure when a customer orders a triple piggy burger, perhaps it might make more sense to change the recipe if every order needs to be warned..as well as the fact that she had not even served us or taken our order! I asked her if she had actually tasted it as I had asked and she said yes and it was always like that - again a very good reason to change the recipe as I and my fellow diners are all salt fans, yet each found it far too salty to eat. I should perhaps also mention that I am a qualified chef with many years experience, so can make suggestions as to how this can be avoided in the future should they need advice. I was offering my feedback on an inedible meal, in the hope that they might avoid any potential other complaints. Instead I got an incredibly off hand unprofessional response from a very rude waitress! My fellow diners / drinkers were locals and I am sure that they will not be recommending the food or the waitresses attitude either! Word of mouth is the best form of advertising (not wanting to teach granny to suck eggs) and had we had a more professional response at the time, then the overiding feeling would have been one of a good experience, however, that is sadly not how we will remember it. As I said, the other meals were very tasty, the other staff were really friendly and efficient, just the one that let it down, on both counts.

    « Mr dent »

Just came home for a fantastic weekend from the hotel room staff and food was top notch we ate at the hotel on saturday I opted for the Indian food which was the best my wife and the liver pate which she said was amazing then the mixed fish main which was also brilliant so defiantly the place to eat

« Probably the best hotel in Skegness »

Nice hotel in its own grounds, plenty of parking, excellent food, friendly staff, two wood panelled bars serving local Bateman's beers on handpumps. Only 5 minutes walk from the beach / sand dunes, about a mile from the town centre. Also close to the Nature Reserve and SSSI. Only downside was the size of the room and the soft beds. Tub chair blocked access to the wardrobe. Large bathroom with quality towels, toiletries and a heated towel rail. We would stay here again if visiting the area (wife has a friend who lives in Chapel St Leonards).

    5
    « wedding day »

We chose to have our wedding here because of its pleasant surroundings and lovely garden, perfect for the children to be entertained with there own bouncy castle. Our day was perfect from start to finish, the food was delicious and the staff could not be more helpful throughout the day and night.I would highly recommend this venue for any event.

« Ok stay but nothing to write home about »

My husband and I stayed at the vine for 1 night and well all i can say is that it was pretty average. We were advised when we arrived that there was a wedding on and so we had been put to the side of the hotel furthest away which meant there wasn't any view but at least we were unlikely to be disturbed. The room was small and a bit shabby but clean and was basically somewhere to sleep for the night. The WiFi worked fine but the tv had only a few freeview channel, most didnt work. The bed was relatively comfortable but the duvet was just too heavy and too hot ! The room was sweltering and although it had a fan in it didn't make much difference. The noise wasn't too bad from the wedding but I could still hear what songs were being played and I'm partially deaf. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice and I have to say the waitress at breakfast was the most pleasant off all the staff. All in all an average stay but the price is a bit steep based on the room that we were given so probably wouldn't recommend or return.

    « Very enjoyable stay. »

Just back from a four night stay at the Vine. We had an Executive room on the top floor which was a great size, well equipped and very comfortable. We stayed on a B&B basis but had evening meals and drinks in the Hotel. We found all the staff very friendly and really helpful. We have stayed in numerous hotels in the past and can genuinely say they were the best so far. Breakfast and meals were not excellent, but very good in our opinion. Housekeeping was good, but we have to make a small comment regarding attention to detail. Our room was very ornate with intricate carved mirror frames. It was obvious that the frames were not cleaned regularly and detritus had accumulated in the crevices caused by people standing at the mirror while brushing their hair. Not a big problem, but worthy of some extra attention. Despite the minor problems, we have to give top marks to the Vine Hotel.

    « Enjoyable stay »

We have returned from five days at Vine Hotel. The hotel, which dates from 1700, has large gardens to the front and rear with plenty of car parking. Our luxury king room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts were generous with good choice and well cooked. We ate in the restaurant each night and the food was of a very high standard. We particularly enjoyed the Indian meals on two nights. The quality of the food is testified by the many locals who come to eat and the seemingly many regulars who return to stay. The service at breakfast and dinner was fast and efficient. Staff throughout were pleasant and friendly. Skegness is a typical, brash UK seaside resort with amusement arcades, funfairs, donkey rides etc and very popular with families. It has long, flat promenades and its clean sands stretch for miles. The hotel is situated on the southern outskirts and we enjoyed the 30 minute walk along the edge of the sands to and from the town. We visited Mablethorpe and enjoyed long walks along the promenade and sands; spent a very good half day at nearby Gunby Hall, its house and beautiful gardens; and spent two days at the reserve at Gibralter Point ( thee miles to the south of the hotel ), with its laid out paths, hides for watching the wading birds and quality cafe. The sight of thousands of seabirds flying en-masse over the shore was unforgettable. A thoroughly enjoyable stay in Lincolnshre and we can recommend the hotel unreservedly.

« "Special Birthday Treat at The Vine Hotel" »

For some 20 Years We have been to Skegness with the Children, normally stopping on various Caravan Sites around the Town, with the Kids now having left Home My Wife and I decided for the last two years to seek other Holiday Destinations, however knowing how much I particularly Loved "Skeggy" my Lovely Wife booked a surprise trip back for my Fifty Sixth Birthday with a stay at The Vine Hotel. Where to start we arrived in town at 10am and took in all the old haunts, Market, Pleasure Island, what was "Joe's Bar", The Theatre and My Wife's Favourite Shops which we actually visited on both the Friday and Saturday.....what a surprise !!! Eventually made our way to The Vine Hotel hoping to grab a Bar Snack before booking in, the Charmer (Italian I think?) Barman Indicated that the chef had just finished but would ask him if he could do a couple of late meals, he duly obliged serving up a tasty Jacket Potato with a plate full of prawns and a really well presented plate of sandwiches and salad, reasonably priced and filling the spot!, a great start to the stay. My Wife booked Room Number One , which was perfect, Michelle said it was "Shabby Chic" whatever that means but to me Clean, Spacious and a Lovely relaxing feel to it with views out beyond the Large Hotel Grounds. Directly opposite Room One is a Drinks Terrace where a couple of Ice Cold Pints of Lager on a Beautiful Sunny late Afternoon went down incredibly well !!, Michelle nipped out to remind me that Dinner was in a Hour or I could have been there till the sun went down. We dressed for Dinner and were offered a well appointed table by a Russian born Waiter and as throughout the Evening His Service was of the Highest Standard, explaining Intelligently the Menu and offered us Interesting facts about the Hotel. The Food was Superb, served promptly and Presentation was "Top Class", Michelle had a Wonderful Scampi Dish followed by a Sticky Toffee Pudding in Hot Butterscotch Sauce Topped with Vanilla Icecream......"Brilliant", as for me I can honestly say I have had Hundred's of Indian Meals all over the UK, this ranked up there with the Best, Onion Baji Starter, Chicken Dopiaza and Pilau Rice with a Keema Naan..."Awesome" I mean "Awesome" washed down with an Inexpensive Bottle of White , the whole experience was "Unforgettable" writing this I want to go back and try more of the Exceptional Indian Menu, We were told that the Vine has two Indian Chefs to be able to deliver this extraordinary offering. Wished the Waiter "Good Luck" in his Studies at Preston University, being able to have this type of dialogue really adds to the experience, we are sure he will be a loss to the Hotel. We retired to the Bedroom, feet worse for wear after the earlier Tour of Skeggy', settled down to watch the Footy (England) made you appreciate even more how Special the Hotel is. Despite a Wedding in the Hotel, We slept right through and once dressed headed down to Experience a "Full English" Large portions and ample additional options, I haven't time to describe "The Pods" which can be reserved outside in the Hotel Grounds to recreate whatever ambiance you are looking for, Fully Heated I am told they offer a totally different "Drinking Experience", time to go ...A perfect Birhday Treat and saw a side of Skegness that We had not seen in the previous 20 Years, Highly Recommended.

    « Disappointed »

Recently visited for a 21st birthday party and had a meal. When ordering food l advised our small daughter would only eat plain pasta to which I was informed "our chef can do whatever you wish" Upon paying bill was charged full price for a plate of 20 pieces of penne pasta. Full price being £4.95 I believe. I asked it this was a mistake as it's 20 pieces of pasta, to which I received a very blunt/ rude reply from the manger on that night. She informed me that the chef had to "cook" the 20 pieces! If I was notified that this would still be full price I would have certainly not ordered this. Her attitude to this was far from satisfactory and frankly very rude. Will not return.

    « Three nights away »

We stayed at the hotel for a three night break and had upgraded to a superior room, however although it was clean and nicely decorated it was quite small with only one hanging rail, one shelf , a dressing table and bedside tables, if you were staying for a longer period you would struggle to store your clothes. The breakfast was nice but the fruit salad seemed to only consist of apples. We had a meal on one evening and the meat was well cooked however the chips were not home made and the only accompaniment was a few leaves of water cress. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Lovely hotel, close enough to venue but far enough out of the crowds. Excellent food and helpful staff. Our room was first class and we will be looking to stay again when in the location. Plenty of free car parking, you can use the bar or there is a lounge also.

« Good rooms, good food »

We stayed for 2 nights in room 21 on 2nd floor. There is no lift and the stairs from floor 1 -2 are narrow and spiral, so be aware if you have mobility issues. The staff were very helpful, and Joe happily carried our bags up for us, and refused a tip. The room was clean with excellent bathroom, but no air con, and although a fan was provided it was very hot during the nights we were there. Maybe you have to make allowances for a property that dates back to 1770. We ate in the bar one night only, The service was good, and there is a good choice of draft craft beers. Our meals were good. Whitebait to share, followed by liver and onions, and a chicken breast meal. Parking is good, the WiFi was fine and the grounds beautifully kept.

A pleasant clean tidy and well equipped hotel. The staff are lovely and the food is good. One complaint! WIFI WIFI WIFI! Come on guys its 2017 no WIFI in bedrooms doesnt cut it! There was also no connection in the dining rooms a real shame or it would have been a 4star review.

« Great Hotel. Receptionist Not The Most Welcoming »

We booked a family room here for a day at Butlins with the kids. We arrived early as we had a busy day and parked up which was great. Out of politeness we went to let the receptionist know we had parked. She was verging on rude, no nice welcome. Grumpy. Hotel is lovely, great location, fantastic family room. Set in lovely grounds. Loved it. Booked a meal in the evening and met friends here. The meal was gorgeous. Everyone enjoyed it. Really lovely food thank you. Great breakfast and there was plenty to choose from. We had a really lovely weekend thank you and would certainly recommend and stay here again. Reception lady please lighten up a bit as you are spoiling the first impression.

We were stopping across the road at the crown hotel..we asked about a good place to have an Indian...the chef suggested the vine hotel. He wasn't wrong.the food was delicious and varied....we couldn't fault it...certainly glad we booked it...not what you expect from such a lovely hotel...try it it's very good

    « Ignorant bar staff »

Called in with my two daughters for a meal on Saturday 5th August at around 2pm.All the tables in the bar had reserved signs on them.Asked the barman if we could have a table he said sit anywhere so long as you're out before 5 o clock. His attitude was very rude and he seemed reluctant to serve us.Needless to say we had one drink and left, vowing never to return.I suggest you give your staff some training in customer service.

« Overcharged on Indian Takeaway »

I've always loved the food at The Vine, and even nominated them in the Lincs great food awards, but i was very unhappy with my recent experience so much so i haven't been back since - and we are locals, and normally regulars. We ordered an Indian take out to be delivered - £41 for the two of us. In retrospect this seemed (after we had paid) to be quite high, and when we checked against the menu online it should have been lower. We rang and queried it with the hotel, and they advised us that they had charged us Just Eat prices (not yet published as they were changing over) and not the prices we had ordered to - which had been from their online menu. When we pointed out we should have been charged the online prices, they agreed to drop the money they owed us back through our letterbox during the evening. It never arrived. In principle this isn't about the money, £7 isn't a huge sum, but it is about customer service, and looking after your customer. So disappointed.

Went with friends and the recommendation was spot on. My friend and I chose the pizza and it was amazing. My other half chose the Indian. He was not that over impressed as he said it tasted all the same.

    « Short break »

We found this to be an excellent hotel. Lots of free parking, excellent room and very clean, compact and friendly bar, great breakfast and the evening meals were well priced with a good choice and of a high quality. Well located with a mile walk into Skegness and down to Gibraltar Point.

I had a very good meal with friends on Saturday. The staff were friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed our food. We retired to the front lawn for tea and coffee. Very civilised! The interior is tastefully decorated.

    « Wedding »

Very disappointed with our room (room 11). From all the pics if the rooms we must have had the worst room they'd got. Can't see a pic of ours in the site. The room was tiny. The bed was tiny. There were cobwebs and spiders. The bathroom window was disgraceful and was painted shut! The shower was useless and the taps had bits missing it took an age to work out how to switch it on and off. The bedroom window could only be opened about 6 inches and was on a level to the floor of the terraced area. The room was stifling it was so hot although a fan had been provided but just circulating hot so wasn't good. It was a real shame because the service and the food were fantastic. It was in desperate need of a refurb and air con if you can't open the windows.

    « Beautiful hotel »

We stayed here for a weekend away away with friends, we had already booked another hotel, but I cancelled because of bad reviews, I quickly booked here, and wow turned out to be a great decision! Lovely grounds you can sit outside in, with the most amazing pod like gazebos thank you can reserve for a meal, with Bluetooth speakers inside! Expected just a basic twin room, but it was well beyond my expectations. My very first impression was the downstairs loo after a long drive, wow I was really impressed, lovely Art Deco porcelain cistern high up on the wall with a chain to pull. Sounds daft getting excited about the loos but well done Vine hotel, they are spectacular, lovely decorated and a great first impression. We've already booked our weekend in Skeg for same weekend next year!

    « Good, Quiet Location »

We stopped here for one night on a room only basis. We chose it as we didn't want to be surrounded by noise in the town centre. It is situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac with large grounds and lots of parking. Ideal. Check-in was friendly and informative and helped with our bags to our top floor room. The stairs are narrow and steep on the second set so not easy for some. The room was average size overlooking the grounds and there was a fan which certainly helped during the heatwave. The decor was not to our taste but it was clean. The bathroom was dated but functional despite the time it took the bath and sink to drain away. The bathroom door was sticking as the top hinges were loose. We went down to the bar for a bar meal and noticed some tables already reserved. With lots of people coming to eat/drink both in the bar, restaurant and the picnic tables on the lawn, it is probably advisable to book a table. We ordered the beer battered fish and chips and they were absolutely perfect. We went off into town for a reminisce (over 30 years since last in Skeggy) and returned to find the place still busy with locals which is a good sign. After a quiet night's sleep we did not have breakfast as we wanted to reminisce somewhere else. The only niggle was the patchy wifi.

    « Our wedding »

We had our wedding here this month and am nothing short of amazed at the quality and precision supplied by all the staff at the vine! I was concerned due to the Room change as we had the ceremony there but my concerns were unfounded as they had it all in hand! I couldn't of asked for any more special thanks to danni and the lady in reception (sorry I can't remember your name) it was a truly amazing day with amazing food, not a bad word said from any of my guests!! Thanks again x

    « Disappointed »

My family and I have visited the vine two times before and have enjoyed it, both times sat in the restaurant area, table service great and was even able to run a tab for drinks as well as food. However.... last nights visit proved very disappointing and let down. We booked yesterday (Saturday) morning for a table of 5 for early evening, were told there were limited tables left and that the only place would be in 'the oak' room. Having never been anywhere but the restaurant area before we didn't know what to expect and were just glad to get a table. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly lad who showed us to our seats. We had decided to order drinks before food and just for 5 drinks alone came to nearly £25!! We were also told no tabs were allowed and that we would have to come up and order our food at the bar and pay there and then.. which was fine until it seemed like every loud and drunk male from outside had come in to get more drinks. Very disruptive, couldn't hear ourselves think let alone have a conversation with each other. At not one moment did any staff tell them to keep it down, I'd never begrudge anyone having a good time in this weather but I definitely think there should of been just abit more consideration for others around. Food was okay (quite expensive so beware!) but because of the atmosphere it was hard to enjoy it. We usually like coming to the vine but I think we would only come back if we were to eat in the restaurant area.

« Booked a room and got (virtually) a suite. »

We were only staying one night as our son wanted to see The Sooty show at the Embassy Theatre, so booked a family room. When we arrived we were given Room 8. This was enormous, having two double beds and a single bed. It was really comfortable, and the bathroom was also spacious. The breakfast was brilliant, with a wide range of choice. We had intended to eat out but, being tired, we decided on bar meals instead. This would be our only criticism. There were three separate menus - Indian, Pizza, and British. Unfortunately, there was hardly anything on the British menu that was vegetarian. We mentioned this to Reception on leaving the next morning and were told that, if we had mentioned it at the time, they would have prepared something vegetarian. If that was the case, why wasn't this at least pointed out on the menu? Having said that, the Bateman's beer was superb and we would certainly return to the Vine again for accommodation.

« Nice hotel, great food - awful bed »

Booked in for one night, reception staff were lovely. There is a nice bar, restaurant and garden area. We had a curry from the restaurant and it was lovely and fresh! It was one of the best currys we had eaten for a long time. The breakfast was also very nice, with plenty of options. Our room was a comfort double, it had recently been redecorated which was nice and the bathroom was a lovely size and felt fresh, but the bed was probably the most uncomfortable nights sleep we have ever had in a hotel. The sleep wasn't helped by how hot it was in the room, even with the windows open. There was a fan in the room but it was so noisy, we had no choice but to have it turned on. When we had arrived we were thinking about staying for a second night but after such a bad nights sleep we were happy to get home. The other disappointing thing was that on check out we had pre-paid on expedia and we had paid for breakfast, which had been taken from my account but the receipt from reception didn't include this now my accounts do not add up. I am not sure if this was a problem with the hotel or expedias system.

« drunken foul mouthed aggressive customers »

do not go to this place on a sunny sunday afternoon with family [ especially if you have young children] for a quiet drink and meal as all you will get is totally drunk and foul mouthed local customers using the C and F word in the bar in front of your wife and friends, when challenged it became very aggressive. there was no one in authority to resolve the situation, said our piece to the foul mouthed customers and left half way through our meal, went to reception to register our complaint but no one would come to the counter!! where were the owners???????????

« Disappointed and a rude member of staff »

We came to the vine last night we come alot when we visit skegness as we have always liked the bar food and service. Last night we came there was 9 of us we asked if they did cocktails and a really nice guy who was on his day off said they did and to ask the tall guy. We asked him and he said i do make them he asked what i wanted and i said mojito he said he had no mint so suggested another cocktail i agreed to it he brought it in a class with hardly no ice do decoration it was luke warm and he charged us 5.95. We complained he got agro and said to be fair presentation is not good as i have my daughter with me (who was behind bar) and i have a meeting to get to. He was really rude. If he did not have time he should have said no cocktails. We also had to wait along time for drinks. The white wine which was not the house was horrible. The kids meals used to include pudding and now dont and still same price at 5 pound they had a beach desert which has always been lovely and big. 6 months ago we came the pudding was 2.95 i brought 2 last night and it was 3.95 each which is disgusting when main kids meal was 5 pound. Also 2 meals came way after others and they ordered theres first so had to rush food as had to go I was really disappointed with our visit and how expensive it was. A couple of staff was lovely and kids loved play area.

    « Great as usual »

As usual we had a great experience except for 1 little thing. I ordered scrambled egg on brown toast for breakfast 29.5.17 and out came scrambled egg with salmon. I said that had ordered only scrambled egg to which the lady took it back and brought out what I had asked for however I could still taste the fish so either the scrambled egg was the same and the salmon just taken off or the same spoon/fork was used to move the salmon and replace the egg. My reason for mentioning this is simply because if I had had a fish allergy there could of been more implications than me just not enjoying my breakfast .

Had lunch at The Vine on Saturday afternoon. The food and service was first class! Have stayed here in the past but not on this occasion. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in 'The Pink Room' and it is indeed very pink! Have a meal in the restaurant - you will not be disappointed!

« Back again for an excellent one-nighter! »

It's been six months since we stopped at this hotel and we really enjoyed our stay, despite the bathroom being a bit on the chilly side! We decided to have lunch here too and, although it was only a bar meal, the quality of the food was excellent and extremely good value for the price paid. As ever the breakfasts too were pretty good.

Booked well ahead for this meal yesterday and was told would be in the restaurant but we were in the bar . Although the meal was good the service was very slow even though there seemed to be plenty of staff around . There was no communication from staff ie how do we order etc and felt having to get up and down for drinks also irritating .For this reason would be apprehensive about a return visit

    « Absolutely Beautiful! »

Would recommend this place to anyone! We visited on easter sunday and you couldn't fault the food at all! Absolutely gorgeous. Our party of 12 had a mixture of meals from fish and chips to pizzas and from pizzas to curries. The curry was like being at an Indian. Whole family were very impressed. If I had any bad points it would be the bar stuff were slightly ignorant. Overall though, A Fantastic experience!

As one gets older Afternoon tea vouchers are ideal Christmas presents. My wife and I "used one of our presents" enjoying a top quality afternoon tea at the Vine Hotel, Skegness with friends. In delightful quiet surroundings we spent an hour or so spoiling ourselves with a large selection of tasty "eats" No one will be disappointed with what is placed before them. Add the service offered by the pleasing staff and an enjoyable visit is guaranteed.

« Family reunion Easter Weekend »

A great weekend at The Vine @ Skegness. The welcome from Lukasz, Alina and Jess and the rest of the friendly staff was fantastic. The Vine is a firm family favourite and it only gets better. The quality of the food is excellent. The lunchtime and evening bar menu is great value. Caeser salad had succulent chicken and fresh crispy leaves, the burgers are huge with lovely fries and onion rings. The Indian food is some of the best we have tasted. Easter Sunday roast was delicious with large yorkie and plenty of veg to go with the roast beef (could be slightly pinker?). Batemans XB is a great pint of beer and tastes even better served by Lukasz in The Vine bar watching Sky Sports . The breakfasts are to die for - overseen by the lovely Alina (nothing is too much trouble). Sausages are proper Lincolnshire and the poached eggs beautifully done. That's on top of the breakfast buffet. The rooms are spacious and clean. The only hiccup was our room (no.2 ). It is next to a function room and above the main function room and very noisy on a Saturday night. We were offered an alternative (a very nice one too , but couldn't be that far from the kids). Jess and Alina dealt with it extremely well but I have to warn against booking room 2 on a Saturday night if there is a function on. But don't let that detract from an excellent weekend at Skegness' finest hotel!

We have used this hotel before for an Indian takeaway meal but the prices have increased quite a lot.Over £30 for a basic meal for two and a limited choice as one of the chefs was off.Poppadums are 99p each! I wouldn't mind if we were sitting in.Also one of the sauces in the box on the table where we sat to wait for our meal was out of date.I pointed this out to one of the staff and they threw it in the bin.Don't think we'll be using this establishment again.

    « A very mixed review »

Firstly i have read some of the reviews about the unhelpful staff i have to say from the moment we walked through to reception to leaving all members in reception, bar, and restaurant were more than helpful. We were only staying for one night as meeting 4 of our friends for a couple of days, we had booked into Ruby's for 6 for the Thursday night as someone we know who lives in Skegness had said you must give it a go as best Indian around, the restaurant also does a wide spectrum of English dishes too, we had booked a few days in advance and was glad we had as they were fulled booked for dinner including the bar area the service was flawless and the food we had was some of the best Indian we have had and believe me we all eat in very good Indian restaurants.. very reasonably priced too, on leaving I did ask for our compliments to be passed on to the chefs on the night and was asked English or Indian menu having said Indian the receptionist told me they had two teams on one English chefs and a team of Indian chefs not surprising the food was so good then, we did not have breakfast so can not comment on that. The Vine dates back to the 1770 so is an old building however all rooms down stairs are full of character and have a very good feel about them even though they all quite different in style. Plenty of outside area to look around and we had no problem parking and it was busy. However when I booked as only a 1 night stay reserved a standard double booked over the phone, when we did book in all good until we opened the door the room was fairly small it did have a floor to ceiling window but this had been frosted over so you can not see out we have never experienced this before and we really did not like it the window only opened a few inches from the bottom too so was quite stuffy, the room seemed dark as all the furniture and carpet and wallpaper were a heavy brown, obliviously did not help with no natural light. the bed was small and admittedly my fault for reserving a double as we normally have twins so my husband went to ask reception if twin available unfortunately not he however was shown a very large bright room we could have but was considerably more so as just one night thought we could manage. will say before I carry on the bed was exceptionally comfortable and for bad sleepers both slept well after a large problem with noise from downstairs !!!!! The Vine had a Thursday night special help yourself Indian with entertainment very popular and if food quality like ours can understand why, however when we went to bed after a very very long day the noise was horrendous and we would of had no chance of any sleep till finished, I did ring down to reception and I felt the lady dealt with the issue well and told us ti would soon be over it did carry on for a bit so had to ring back down still she was polite and it was eventually sorted phew, however we felt this event/noise should of been brought to our attention on check in we would more than likely changed to the large room with a view. Regarding the frosted glass we realised why very quickly as there is another function room with a lovely terrace right next door to the room ( we did make use of the terrace ourselves ) so anyone using the terrace would be able to see in although there was netting up however our issue was some one sat on chairs literally with their heads on our window talking away which is obviously normal but we might of well of been sitting with them, we had only gone back to the room for a quick nap before dinner which obviously didn't happen ( on realising there was a function room and terrace i did go down and ask reception if there was anything planned and was told no I assumed the terrace was not in use however i later in the bar area found out it is common for all to use as such a busy place so be aware. We would stay here again and certainly would not eat any where else would ask reception advise as to which room would be best for us next time.

    « Excellent hotel »

I had a really pleasant stay here. The staff upon arrival were very welcoming and throughout my stay they were a credit to the hotel. The building is well presented and cared for (great gents toilets). My room was freshly decorated, had good quality furnishings and felt comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and well appointed. The breakfast is exceptional, it was freshly prepared with quality ingredients and had great accompaniments. I only unfortunately stayed the one night but everything I experienced I couldn't fault, this really is a great hotel. I would definitely have no hesitation in returning or recommending!

« Very good especially if you are a foodie »

Visited with my wife on the 17th and 18th of March 2017. Lovely hotel, good rooms even if they are a bit kitsch and some of the best hotel staff I have ever come across. One minor let down was that the bar and lounge areas are full of tables and chairs for people to dine at and nowhere to sit and relax comfortably after the evening meal. The food was fantastic both evenings and I think this chef and his team are going places. The Irish girl who waited on the tables (sorry forgot your name) was great, efficient and made you feel that you were in a top class restaurant. The chocolate bombe that I had for dessert was the best dessert I have ever had and trust me I have had many all over the world. The quality of the food shows why all the bar areas are full of tables and chairs but I still think they should consider somewhere for residents to chill out and spend more money. A great place and it we are ever back in the area this is the hotel we would use

    « Lovely afternoon tea! »

We had an afternoon tea recently and it was lovely! Nicely laid out, with everything you'd expect; variety of sandwiches, scones & cakes. Everything was brilliant except the scones weren't great at all (very dense). But the cakes more than made up for it, they were perfect! Nice variety of sandwich fillings, bit too much mustard in the ham one, but again everything was so lovely this wasn't a huge issue. I was also a little surprised to be charged for extra tea & coffee pots (I've been to lots of afternoon teas and never been charged for top ups), but it's not a problem really. Staff were good & I'd recommend it. I really struggled finding afternoon tea options in Skegness and this is a great venue!

What an amazing Sunday lunch, the best ever and we often go out for a Sunday lunch. Fantastic price but the food omg the food was amazing. I can not begin to tell you the flavour it was to die for. Honestly it is the best. Definitely going back, actually booked for Boxing Day.

    « Not what I was expecting »

What a lovely environment this hotel provides and a little gem hidden away from the main street. Absolutely fabulous with a cosy lounge bar, an open fire and Xmas tree to set the scene. Would definitely stay again.

    « Disappointing pizzas »

Decided to order from the new pizza menu after a leaflet came through the door, unfortunately they couldn't deliver that night so had to collect them. We ordered 4 items, one topping we paid for as an extra wasn't there and the bases were so thin there was no substance to them, so a Tropical pizza was £10 but no way was that good money for value. Our bill was almost £30.00 Knowing how good the rest of the food is here we were just really very disappointed with the value for money of the pizzas, they definitely need to look at making them more substantial. Very disappointed customers.

    « Lovely find »

Staff welcoming and helpful ,always a good start to a visit. The hotel and our room were clean ,comfortable and nicely decorated. Despite not booking a table on a busy Saturday night the staff accommodated us with a quiet table. The food was well presented and well cooked. The cooked breakfast in the morning is a definate must not miss while there. Will definately check in again next time we are in the area.

    « Attended a wedding reception »

Did not stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms etc, only our perspective as guests at the wedding. The decoration and personalised touches for the wedding were beautiful, and although an intimate room, it was organised well. The food organised was tasty but there was cross contamination which prevented true gluten free experience. the biggest obstacle however and the reason for dropping a couple of points, was the extortionate price of the drinks. We also asked for an alcohol free beer to be told we would need to leave the wedding to go to the other bar to get it, as there wasn't enough room to stock it in the wedding bar. One further problem was the parking which, probably due to having a wedding, plus the usual hotel and restaurant guests. But we had to park on a boggy grass area, which when attending a function in your finery, meant we arrived a little muddy. I am not sure that I would ever be an overnight guest as we don't live far away, but the pricing of the drinks would probably prevent us ever eating here.

« Best Western Vine Hotel »

Very nice hotel in good location, about 15 minute walk to main centre of Skegness. I had booked an executive room, which was very pleasant, nice décor and lighting. A couple of issues, toilet seat broke, so moved around, heated towel rail no working, and internet connection not very good in my room nr 3. Skegness always a nice place for a visit

« The Vine Hotel we Adore you !!!!!!! »

Firstly we must thank the wonderful Toni, Lukas, and of course all the super new staff on board, (also good to see Glynis back on reception still miss Dee) for all their hard work perfectly put in to place. Dear readers this fabulous Hotel is one short mile from Skegness town centre which boasts (a bucket and spade holiday , bars, retaurants (Tarantino Italian on Drummond road is lovely), cafes, quirky little shops plus high street names, the numerous amusement arcades, fun fair, the Embassy Theatre with many famous acts I could just go on and on). We stayed for a three night Mini Moon as part of our numerous 20th Wedding Anniversary celebrations this year which was on the 20th August, we were selected a beautiful large room, housekeeping immaculate. Loving the new outside dining pods for 6 diners or more gives an excellent overspill for the always booked up restaurant's and bar areas, every meal we devoured breakfast, dinner, late suppers were oh so very perfect (the creme de la creme had to be Sunday Lunch this was very fine dining puts Michelin star venues to shame which we have partaked this year wish Chef would give me the recipe for the absolutely fabulous cider and shallot jus/gravy!!!! which accompanied the pan roasted breast of chicken. We will be back as soon Thank you all again. Anne and Alan x

    « Excellent meal......again »

Went with my other half and three other couples to celebrate our birthdays. We were a bit late in booking so couldn't get in the restaurant and but were offered a table in the bar. We still had the full choice of menu to choose from so it wasn't a problem. We had to order at the bar but this wasn't an issue. It was extremely busy (7.30pm on a Saturday night) but the order was taken efficiently and checked back for accuracy. Only three of us had starters and these didn't take that long to arrive. All were tasty and well presented. Four of us opted for Indian main courses, one a pizza, two had the gammon and one tried the Vine tin - an American BBQ inspired dish. Everything arrived together and piping hot, was again well presented and the Indian dishes were particularly good. We were so full only half of us had room for desserts afterwards. Service was friendly and efficient. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and we're delighted to see the high standards being consistently maintained.

« A day and nights visit to the east coast »

A group of six friends decided to visit Skegness with an overnight stay at the Vine Hotel. A comfortable Hotel with welcoming staff and within walking distance of the shore. We were directed to a cosy bedroom on the second floor which had an adequate bathroom. An evening meal at the Hotel was of excellent quality and served by efficient polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was also of a very good standard with all varying requests successfully served by Toni, another willing and efficient member of staff. The high standards also extended to the staff working behind the Hotel bar.

    « Fantastic hotel & staff »

I recently stayed here as part of a friends wedding party. Fabulous hotel. Very clean & beautiful decor. The staff and management were very friendly & helpful. Jess, especially was amazing. Couldn't do enough for us. In Fact, she went out of her way to accommodate me and my daughter by moving us into a bigger room. The food was lovely, both from the bar menu plus the function meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Can't fault it here at all. A+ hotel & treatment xxx

    « Lunchtime visit. »

My wife and I have been to this lovely place a long time ago. It still has the old country style charm of yesteryear but has recently received a fresh lick of paint in complimentry shades. The lunch was truly wonderful - I had the fresh stone baked thin crust pizza - Wow!. My wife enjoyed the haddock and fresh cut proper chips and mushey peas. It was so good we had a pudding!!. Fresh ground coffee followed. Couldn`t find fault with anything, and the service was friendly too.

    « Ringside Seating Required »

Stayed here for two nights. Second night ended up with mass brawl ending around mid night. As on business, this was the last thing I and colleagues needed after several days working hard. This went on for over a hour. Not impressed with how this was left to continue.

    « Meal order »

A party of 10 went for a curry here as we do most years and as my only gripe is about that then I shall get that out of the way. 10 orders for starters and mains were taken and the starters duly arrived and devoured. Then the mains came but in dribs n drabs, the person next to me had his naan bread first, his rice a few minutes later but by the time his curry came, the rice was Luke warm and he'd eaten most of his naan. If I could suggest serving people individually as they ordered and not as one big order. Moan over! The food was superb, especially considering it's not a restraint, staff are very friendly, cheerful and helpful and the choice of drinks is decent. Pub itself is clean and tidy. Be back next year for sure.

    « Amazingly good service »

2 friends and I had the pleasure of staying at The Vine ...the reception staff were friendly and most welcoming...Thanks to the Chef for the excellent food and especially to Rob for the superb Cajun Prawns...Thank you too also to Lucas and Joe who efficiently ran the bar...nothing was too much trouble for them.( even endless pots of tea for me)...special mention has to go to Paul Evison the night manager who gave me a wonderful History of the grand old building. He also went out of his way to help me find our next Best Western in Nottingham and tips on best places to see. A thoroughly enjoyable visit enhanced by excellent service....Heartfelt thanks to all.... Maria, Janice and Kim

« Our stay at the Vine »

Stayed for one night, booking a superior double room. Check in completed quickly and directed to room, assistance with bags was offered. Rather awkward stairs to room carrying a case but on entry was roomy, clean and well furnished (if not quite to my taste). Plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water. Wi fi excellent. As this is also a pub/restaurant it was slightly noisy at first due to outside diners/drinkers but soon quitened down by around 11. I found the mattress a little hard but my wife slept soundly, there were two pillows each but both of similar thickness. In the morning we used the over bath shower but found the water temp tap stuck fast so couldn't adjust the heat which was rather hot. Other than this the bathroom was clean and fresh and well equipped with toiletries. We took breakfast in the restaurant and was well served by a very pleasant young lady. The breakfast menu was excellent and a good variety of cereals, yoghurts, fruit etc was well laid out. We checked out after breakfast but wasn't asked whether we enjoyed our stay.

    « Weekend Party »

We have just held a celebration party for my husbands Birthday here. Our who stayed over were made welcome, enjoyed nice comfortable rooms, good food, with friendly heplful service. The Party room looked lovely with French doors opening onto a garden with a Bouncy Castle and outdoor seating. Our Buffet meal was tasty and plentiful. Altogether "a good time was had by all".

« Wonderful staff just made this great »

Our extremely fussy group stayed here for two nights. It was very good. Our room was very small, but it was extremely clean and everything in it worked well. There was even a rubber bath mat without asking! And nice toiletries. We didn't like the tight spiral staircase up to our top floor room, but we should have checked before we went. It was really quiet, other than the owls dung the night - wonderful! Exterior of hotel needs a bit of paint - some of this was being done while we were there. But a huge chunk of paint flaked off and fell to the ground when I opened our window, and others were in worse condition. WiFi was a bit iffy. Breakfasts were good. Dinner was OK. Most of our party enjoyed the curries, but mine, described as hot and spicy, was nowhere near that. But the best thing of all was that all the staff went out of their way to keep us happy - all were so cheerful and so much appearing to want us to have everything we needed. This was well up to Best Western standards - a good hotel we'd stay at again.

    « Great takeaway pizza »

I think The Vine does the best food in the area - so much so i nominated them in the great taste awards - to add to their wonderful indian food and bar food, they now offer artisan pizzas - very reasonable and delicious!

Excellent food and service from all the staff. Well done Georgie and Tina plus all the team .Cleanliness of the rooms is also worth noting . Lovely hotel setting with outdoor seating areas. The food is very very good. Be warned you need to book restaurant and or bar meals table in advance. our standard double room was more like a single so disappointment on that score but on the plus side it was a quiet room away from the function area and lovely and clean. nice little soaps in bathroom and bottled water

    « A wedding to remember »

We went to a wedding reception here on the 10th September 2016. It was brilliant. There were were great staff whenever you needed them. The room was lovely and airy with doors opening out onto the garden. The food we had was amazing nothing fancy but it was really good. The only other thing in my opinion was the room for the reception was a little bit small which made the music very loud but thats only my opinion.

    « Ruby's Indian at the Vine »

Period looking hotel with plenty of parking a 20 min walk out of town centre. Booked for 7 30 on a Saturday night the restaurant was a bit busy but not to bad. Service was pretty quick and the staff were attentive. All three Indian meals were very good ( one vegetarian). There is also a traditional menu available but we haven't tried it. Prices compare with the other Indian restaurants in town and food is as good.

    « Gingerlily Restaurant »

My wife and I visited the restaurant whilst staying in skegness for bank holiday weekend with our 2 year old daughter. The food was absolutely beautiful and the service was excellent. A special mention needs to go to an Irish girl called Jess who really made our night with how she interacted with our daughter and all round brilliant service. Jess is a credit to this place and our daughter thought she was as great as we did. Keep up the good work. We'll definitely be back

« Comfy but quite expensive »

Stayed here for our mini moon. Hotel is in a stunning quiet location, with great outdoor space. Room was gorgeously decorated and the staff where very polite. Couple of downers though - room was excessively hot 2 X fans going 24/7 did not make it any better (room 3 above kitchen). Cold water tap ran hot for a while. Food gorgeous but expensive. One night waited over an hour due to an issue with the ticket machine in the kitchen.

    « Mini break »

So happy with our choice to stay at the vine when visiting skegness with my partner his parents and our 1 year old recently. The staff were friendly and you felt like nothing was an issue when you asked. Our daughter loved the gardens and bouncy castle. The evening meal and breakfast was real quality. Our room slightly dated still had the wow factor with bags of room. Slight noise at night could be heard from others guests but not enough to wake my baby so no issue. Bit of a walk to the main drag but again no issue we enjoyed the walk but couldn't do it in non suitable footwear. Would definitely recommend and if we go back to skegness would be straight back to the vine!

« Another excellent visit to the Vine »

The moment we arrived we were welcomed by the young lady on check in and the rooms were ready even though it was only 2pm. The room we had was up two flights of stairs but it was worth it because it was very quiet. I think we have stayed in that room before, room 23, highly recommended. As it was a lovely sunny day we all spent the afternoon on the raised terrace at the rear. The beauty of this hotel is that the location is superb. You may be in Skegness but you are a million miles away from the bingo and slot machines. It's like an oasis of good service, nice gardens, trees, plenty of parking and good company and a nice drink. The dinner in the main dining room was very enjoyable as was the breakfast in the morning. All in all another very nice stay.

« Nice hotel very small room! »

    « Don't judge a book by its cover »

When u first arrive u think quality hotel everything is very good the decor cleanliness but as u put the key in your door it's the complete opposite to the rest of the hotel , a small room with dated decor , the room has no ventilation and extremely hot , alittle sleep on first night , on second night there was a wedding at hotel is fine but what is not fine is half the hotel closed for them . I think owner of the hotel plus the manger should share a room for the night just too experience how poor value for money the rooms are.

« A hotel of potential, let down in places »

We stayed for two nights for a wedding in a double room (with additional Z bed). Lovely room - clean and airy with comfortable beds. Unfortunately, on the first night, the bar below our room was frequented by guests who were permitted by hotel staff to be very loud and to play darts until 3.30am in the morning. The dart board was directly below our bed and we were woken and kept awake - we tried to call the night porter but the phone call went unanswered. We did complain the following morning and reception staff apologized and said they would inform the manager but no one spoke to us further about our complaint and our lack of sleep made us very tired for the wedding taking place that day. Breakfast was lovely on the first morning, well cooked and served quickly. The second morning - breakfast was a chaotic affair - with so many guests staying there really ought to be a better system of knowing which guests are in the breakfast room and who is sitting waiting to be served. We waited a long time to be served and in the end had to ask for a member of staff to take our order. I suspect there are simply not enough staff on duty at this hotel. The wedding breakfast was beautifully served - fantastic food but again as the evening got busier the evening buffet was served far too late (gone 9.30pm when it should have been 8.30pm) and I don't feel that there were enough staff on duty. As a keen gardener I do feel that such a beautiful hotel is badly let down by the state of the gardens - what a wonderful mature space out there that clearly lacks any investment and desperately needs to be maintained and re-planted to enhance the facilities. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not return.

« Lovely hotel, away from usual Skeggy attractions! »

Called eher for a relax and drink on way back from walk to Gibraltar Point nature rserve and back. An oasis of calm with a comfy, welcoming and realxing atmosphere. Set back along Vive Street, off Drummond Road. You wouldn't know that you were in Skegness at all!

« Wonderful cosy welcoming hotel »

We had our wedding reception here 16 years ago and had superb day ! However under the more recent management the hotel has undergone a sympathetic yet modern refurbishment. The main bar are has maintained its rustic charm with open log fire, and cosy ambiance, yet the Ginger Lilly restaurant has a more modern decor but is also intimate and cosy. We have been for a bar meal recently and aboslutely LOVE the garden seating Pods ! With Wifi, Patio heater and plenty of seating. Simply Perfect!!! A must visit !

    « Lovely weekend stay »

Great weekend with friends, our room was very clean with plenty of towels, tea coffees and biscuits, a big bottle of water was also very welcome. Water pressuure a bit low for a good shower but, it is an old building so perhaps to be expected. Most staff friendly and welcoming, mostly good food and a well stocked bar. The roof terrace is a lovely spot for an evening drink and tasty bar snack. The hotel location is about 20 minutes walk to beach and the centre. We would certainly stay again.

« Rooms stifling and dated »

We paid £100 per room per night for our family's rooms over a weekend. Thus cost does not reflect the quality of the experience with the rooms looking and feeling tired and dated. We had two 'adjoining' rooms with a small private corridor separating them. Due to the oppressive, stifling heat - and no air conditioning- we had to leave both bedroom doors open to relieve some of the pressure. This meant that we had no privacy and at one point a 'lost' guest walked into our children's room in the night; not clever! Breakfast on day two was very tasty but on day one our waffles were dry and tasteless. Generally very poor.

    1
    « Poor room standards!,! »

Our room was terrible, we had no view as the windows were frosted, a wedding was also on where the guests took over the hotel, at breakfast the following day was like being in a Star Wars bar with the previous nights wedding guests, the restaurant called itself Indian but was as Indian as the polish waitress, and to cap off a fantastic stay we suspect our card was cloned as we only used it there for our stay and it was being used in Poland? coincidence? We complained and guess what. They did not care so avoid this hotel or you too could be scammed .

« Brilliant Food and lovely surroundings »

We have visited the Vine hotel several times but probably about 5 years ago now. Last week we went for evening meal, and were amazed at the lovely new decor, and the food we were served and the service we received. Our exact words were this is a hidden gem but we are really glad we know about it. We enjoyed it so much we came back the night after for a meal too. Can recommend the burgers and the chicken pot pie, oh and the pan fried chicken. We will be back.

    3
« Nice looking Hotel but the grounds need more care. »

Whilst the outside of the Hotel is pleasing to look at the up keep of the grounds at the back is very disappointing. The beds are overgrown with nettles and bindweed and a whole section has been left to be completely over grown. In view of the connection to Tennyson and his love for the garden this seems very short sighted and a great shame. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the food in the bar and for breakfast was delicious. So why only average rating then? Because of the very loud hum under room 12 that woke me up and kept me awake. I do not recommend this room despite the nice view - it is very small indeed, Central London size, which given the fact you are in Lincolnshire is a bit strange. It was indeed very stuffy as several reviewers have commented, but a fan is provided. I was very surprised that Reception could not provide a map of Skegness and again this seemed to be not very on the ball. I have rarely been impressed by The Best Western chain unfortunately, and despite many positive features, this too seemed to suffer from that lack of over all care that many in the chain seem to have.

« Great hotel and staff »

Stayed 2 nights, lovely hotel with lovely garden and outside space. Staff were very helpful and efficient, food was excellent, particularly my curry from Rubys. It is a 15 minute walk into the centre for attractions and beach. Rooms a little small but well equipped, clean and well maintained.

    « Fantastic, fabulous staff! »

We stayed for 2 nights on a mini break with our 8 month old son and the hotel made the holiday! When checking in we were given a room on the second floor as it was larger for a travel cot, we were then informed there was no lift. Initially I felt inconvenienced about having to carry all the luggage up the stairs but the staff had already rallied round and volunteered to carry our things up and that we could leave the pushchair at reception. The room itself was immaculate and had recently been redecorated. The whole hotel was clean and finished to a high standard. The food was amazing, especially the curries and the bar staff and restaurant staff were the most helpful and polite bunch I'd ever seen. The staff were amazing and no request was too much. We had a fantastic break, many thanks to all the team at the vine.

    « Brilliant stay »

A superbly located friendly hotel. Parking was easy and the hotel grounds complimented the hotel. Very fast and efficient reception, with a great traditional bar which has a huge meal selection. Our room was spacious and tastefuly decorated, could not have asked for anything more, given that you see the hotel owners working tirelessly you know your in good company. It was a great experience and showcase for softness.

    « Clean bedroom/bathroom but....... »

We booked into the Vines for one night only (9th July) and upon check-in we were told they had a wedding on and were busy but as far as we were concerned that was no problem. The room was small with a decent sized bathroom (both very clean), but the twin beds were tiny (narrow) and the furnishings dated. Our room was positioned overlooking the hotel yard and over the kitchen/staff room, we were woken up at 4.30am by the staff (x 3-4) downstairs, talking/changing and banging things around. Tea/coffee making was in the room and a small TV on the wall, unfortunately the reception on the TV was useless and locked up every 20-seconds! I can't really comment on the staff except for the receptionist and she was friendly, but to be woken up at 4.30am by staff talking/changing was annoying/frustrating. We paid £100 for a twin room without breakfast, which after considering the size of the room/sleep quality was in my opinion over priced and we will not use this hotel again, nor this chain.

    « Excellent surprise »

Having stayed in the other BW hotel in Skegness last year while on business I was pleasantly surprised by the Vine Hotel. A character hotel with nice authentic features it offered a wonderful haven away from the business of Skegness. My allocated Room 28 was the very top room in the hotel but it was fine: enough space, comfy bed, clean, nice spacious en-suite. Coffee/tea making facility with nice biscuits and two bottles of mineral water. Breakfast is lovely and of high quality - plenty of choice plus pastries, cereal etc on the side. Enjoyed the pub watching footie and the lovely extended gardens. Highly recommended and will make sure this is where I am booked when in Skegness!

    « Beautiful hotel , quiet location »

We stayed here about 5 years ago and since then the hotel has had a quality refurbishment. Receptionist friendly Ample parking and lovely walks either side of the hotel. Rooms on the small side but you only sleep in them. Bathroom decent size. Cobwebs in rooms though. Like a few of the other reviews the room was very very warm, nice there is a heated towel rail but perhaps turn it off in summer. A tray with tea and coffee making facilities, couple bottles water replaced each day. Sat down for breakfast but after 12 mins of no one approaching us or being able to catch attention, we ate somewhere else. Left very early to go to work , night porter not immediately obvious, but he was there and helped let me out . Would return , the hotel just need to re-assess staffing levels at peak meal times. All staff we spoke to were friendly. Free wi-fi

« Beautiful building set in quiet grounds »

First time visit, peaceful nights sleep. Very hot room (glad there was a fan and window opened well). Part modern/part quaint. Quite a few cobwebs was only negative with room. Had an evening meal (main restaurant menu not available on a Tuesday), so opted for fish and chips- chips hand cut and tasty, fish good size but after 5 bones I gave up, mushy peas watery with funny taste.

    « Wedding party »

I stayed here as part of a wedding party. After a long time travelling we tried to check in at around 11.30am for the moody receptionist to tell us no without even asking us for our surnames. Managed to leave our bags with her, but her attitude was not the best. I work on a front desk too and couldn't believe the way she was with us. Managed to check in with another lady at around 1 and she was lovely. The hotel is beautiful, Very clean and looks fairly new, maybe refurbished. The rooms were a bit on the small side and really warm, the fan came in handy! Our room faced the staff smoking area which was not the best. Only down side would be that we was only given two tiny bottles of water which was used to fill the kettle up. The wedding reception was beautiful with a lovely well decorated room, everybody had a great time. Young man on the bar with the tattoos was pleasant and funny. The prices were extortionate, refused to pay it in the end, Breakfast nice, not much selection but nice food and helpful staff, although I did overhear the lady serving telling some guests to hurry up because she was in a rush. Oh! All in all I would probably stay again if i needed a hotel room in Skegness.

« Ideal Venue For Party »

Attend a wedding reception the buffet was first class, the setting ideal, the music provided was right for the occasion the only downside was the bar prices otherwise i would recommend this venue also good location with ample parking.

« The Restaurant is an Untypical seaside haven »

The restaurant is an Oasis; making you forget what the weather is like outside. The choice of food options is very good, the quality is high, service superb, with Ruby Tuesday's being a speciality! The only suggestion from our table was for there to be a more seasonal, varied menu, for those who dined there on a more frequent basis.

« One night stay for a wedding »

We have stayed at the vine on a previous visit to family, and this time had a one night stay for a family wedding that the hotel catered for in the evening. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the hotel is clean, and the food is amazing. We would like to thank the staff for making my mothers wedding evening so memorable. The buffet was out of this world and the function room looked beautiful. So many thanks for your welcome and the high standards you maintain

    « Our Stay »

The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the staff are most helpful and went out of their way. The food in the restraunt was also lovely especially the Indian meal we had. We stayed in one of the kingsize rooms which was decorated very nicely.

    « Little Gem »

Wasn't expecting much considering it was a Best Western and in Skegness. What a pleasant surprise. Very quaint from the outside with a mixture of Old and ultra modern. Staff could not have been more helpful with some going beyond the call of duty. Breakfast was really good and in a nice relaxed environment. The waitress that served me was utterly charming. Wifi was very intermittent which was frustrating. The hotel bedrooms were far too hot and even with the windows open I found it difficult to initially fall asleep. I would book here again if I ever go back to Skeggy

    « Excellent Wedding! »

The Vine Hotel is down Drummond Road away from the hustle and bustle of Skegness. Turning in the drive you see the very impressive buildings with a large garden area to eat and drink. The hotel was superbly run and it was a lovely comfortable stay. It had two bar areas..three including our venue room and I have to say, one if not the best wedding food we've ever had. Well done to you all, it definitely added a touch of class to our weekend!

« Best of both worlds »

This is a very old traditional coaching inn which has been brought up to date without losing any of its charm. Rooms are large, clean and tastefully decorated. The evening restaurant service has a really lovely menu with a lot of home cooked foods to suit all tastes. All the staff were more than helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and would return for another stay if in the area.

« good value and away from all the hussle and noise of the town centre »

this hotel is nicely located away from all the noise etc of the town centre. The food is well presented and good value. they do steak nights and curry nights which appear to be very popular. All the rooms have been refurbished and are comfortable. you need transport to have access to all the facilities in town. Staff are all pleasant and go out of their way to make sure everything is as you want it.

    « Went for a curry. »

We visited the vine on a Thursday night during a short stay in Skegness. There was me, my boyfriend and his mum and dad there all ordering a curry and it was absolutely delicious! The mother in law is a very fussy eater and doesn't eat a lot anyway but she cleared her plate! It's not an overpriced place apart from the bottles of wine which are quite pricey and there's not loads of choice, but we ordered some anyway as we were on holiday so why not! We will be visiting again in the future.

    « Beautiful setting »

This hotel is set in beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Skegness. It sharers modern, contemporary with traditional and it works well here. Only downside is that the food is so good in the Bars and Restaurant that it is very bust plus lots of functions on which means that we were not able to use all of the facilities advertised. The Indian menu is absolutely gorgeous as is the cooked breakfast. In fact the best cooked breakfast we have has at a Best Western Hotel. We took our 12 year old grand daughter under the 12 and under go free scheme, but be aware that she only got a blow up air bed to sleep on!!!

    « Nice meal »

We met friends for lunch in the bar. The food was very good and tasty and good value. The portions were big and arrived promptly. The staff were very friendly.and we had good service throughout our visiit.

« Nice Hotel, Shame about the Wedding Guests »

A nice hotel, old and with history, I didn't know there was was such a quiet area in Skegness, well until later when the wedding guests were drunk. There's a walk though woods that goes in two directions with plenty of birds and squirrels from the hotel. Food was good, beers are kept well and the staff efficient and friendly. We paid for a superior room which had a 'designer' theme which was large and the bed very comfy. Only problems with the room was the bath did not drain fast enough as you showered, I did report it as we left (only stayed the one night so no major problem). The real problem was the room was on the front as we're very noisy drink wedding guests until past 2:00 on the morning then some 'retired' to their rooms to party while 3:00 so sleep was disturbed - not the staff of the hotels fault though we feel they should have asked them to keep the noise down, especially outside. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice well cooked and well presented. Would We stay there again? well as Skegness is not one of our favourite places and we don't live too far away we were only there to meet up with friends who were staying around the corner but Yes! We would stay there again as long as there was no wedding on. The wedding gang were allowed to get away with a lot (both inside and out) as they were the 'big money' that weekend at the cost to other guests.

    « Our wedding day »

We had our wedding day here on the 21st may and it was amazing. Jess lukasz (think that's how it's spelt) and the team went above and beyond to make it special for us. Especially after the outside company we were using for several bits let us down on the morning of the wedding. Me and my wife are from Skegness and by far this is the best place for miles to have a wedding. The food was lovely (as always is here). Our honeymoon suite was amazing. Massive bed great shower and a sitting room too. Can not fault a single thing about the service we got from the vine hotel Skegness. One again MASSIVE thanks to Jess lukasz and the team for making our day extremely memorable. Wayne and Jolene cussons

« Food very good, butt meals did not arrive togther »

Visited on Wednesday 18th May. It wasn't very busy so we decided to eat in the bar area. Husband had rib eye steak, I ordered tandoori chicken. My husband's meal arrived and I waited and waited. When he was half way through his meal I went to the bar as felt my meal had been forgotten. It arrived eventually and was very nice, but it really annoys me when this happens. Barman did apologise, but no other recompense offered. We are local and love the food at the Vine, but this is not the first time this has happened to us. May stick with the lovely Italian restaurants in skegness in future.

« Comfortable, Friendly hotel. Good location »

Have stayed at the Vine Hotel on several occasions now and always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The hotel has extensive grounds both back and front, making it an ideal place for a drink / lunch etc. if you have children. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. We have eaten in the restaurant in the evenings and have had breakfast on several occasions and the food has always been good - as is the service. The hotel is in a good location in Skegness, fairly quiet but not too far from the centre. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

    « Lovely meal »

A large group of friends came to the Vine for a retirement meal. I had only been to weddings before and never for just a meal! Really good service and the food was lovely and good value for money . I will definitely be back for another bar meal.

« Better than a John Wayne classic »

We were staying locally to the Vine Hotel so cannot comment on the amenities there as we only ate in the bar area of the hotel. We booked a meal for last Friday evening, 13 May, and enjoyed the meal tremendously. My steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and my wife had a Caesar salad which was one of the best she had had. On Saturday we again booked a meal and this was comparable to food we had received on our recent cruise, fine dining at its best and not too expensive too.We had a whitebait starter which was superb then l again had steak and my wife had a sizzler tandoori chicken with vegetable rice which we found was excellent. All the staff were very attentive and their service was excellent too at a time when the hotel was extremely busy.

    « Lovely lunch »

This is a little out of the way but worth the short drive or sunny walk. A quiet little niche in the otherwise busy town, Beautiful bar lunch ... Very nice atmosphere ... Well worth a visit ... Good value for money and not an overwhelming portion ?? ... A big thumbs up ????

    « Our Wedding Day »

We recently had our wedding at The Vine Hotel on the 30th April 2016 and our whole experience was amazing from start to finish! The staff catered for everyone who stayed at the hotel as well as people just attending our wedding. The hotel rooms were spotless also and the housekeeping staff were very pleasant & friendly. Our breakfast over 2 mornings was fantastic & cooked perfect, we really enjoyed it. We couldn't have been happier getting married here and wanted to stay for a lot longer. Wish we could do it all over again. Thank you so much xxx

    « A little bank holiday luxury »

Overnight stay for the Bank holiday. We booked a suite room 23, it was gorgeous, very decadent, the king size bed was on a raised platform with up lights and we had a separate lounge area. Bed was so comfortable, everywhere was spotless and bathroom was lovely with white fluffy towels. Staff were all freindly and helpful and breakfast was excellent lots of choice if you don't want the full English. We will return.

« Really interesting and restful getaway! »

We stayed in the Vine Hotel, Skegness in November 2015. We arrived to a very warm welcome, and when settled in our cosy and I have to add, very warm room, we went downstairs to the lovely olde bar. So comfortable with it's leather armchairs and the olde worde atmosphere. We enjoyed a huge bar meal in there, although the dining room was very nice too. The Vines does have a lot of history and dates back to to smuggling days. I enjoyed reading all about it. I was very surprised and, to say the least, interested to learn it has it's own ghost! And in the very place I was reading about this, discovered that it was only a few feet away that the skeleton of a tax collector who apparently was investigating the rumours of smuggling at the Inn, as it was then, was found, he had met a rather horrible death of being walled up! His skeleton was fully clothed in very elegant red attire. I love history so all this was a bonus for me! It was a lovely two night stay. Perhaps a little too far to walk into Skegness but a taxi only cost us £3. If you like golf, it's certainly the place for you! Also , there is no lift, so I would advise you to book a room on the first floor, as it is an old building and the stairs are turny, and a little steep. But all that adds to it's ambience!

    « Avoid room 11 »

Lovely hotel , nice grounds , good food . I had booked this as an Anniversary treat for my husband who hasn't been well we were given room 11 which has both windows frosted and you cant open them it made us feel very claustrophobic I think we should have been warned as at £ 90 it isn't cheap. Reception staff just said we have had a lot of complaints and will be changing that room , don't think that was the write answer. We were very disappointed as it would have been a lovely break apart from the room.

« A shadow of its former self »

My family have been staying at The Vine hotel regularly for 35 years, this time we stayed for one night only due to a family funeral. The Vine is one of the oldest buildings in the area and the decor used to reflect this, oak panelling in the reception and bar areas gave a sense of history and the rooms were always subtley and tastefully decorated. Not any more! The new decor is garish and out of character with the building, our room was decorated in vivid pink and all the furniture had been sprayed silver. The reception area and restaurant reminded me of a 1980s Indian restaurant! The hotel's saving grace however was the food, as good, if not better than before everything we had to eat during our brief stay was faultless. I'm sure we will be back but I'll just have to hope that next time we don't get the pink and silver room.

    « Skegness »

Our stay was for a show at the Embassy Theatre and was well located for the visit. Unfortunately other guest were noisy until 3am which meant we didn't sleep well but do not blame the hotel for this. We would stay there again.

Recently visited with a group of friends. Good service however a little slow hence the 4 stars not 5, great atmosphere the food was excellent and plentiful. Lovely local place to eat or for a quiet drink. Will definitely be returning again.

    « Sunday lunch! Amazing! »

We have been to this hotel for many meals; their curries are the best in Skegness and now I can say that Sunday lunch is the best in Skegness. The menu is a three course option, and we just went for mains. There was a really good choice of starters and mains, but puddings were limited and I think I could've been tempted! We chose a turkey dinner and a less traditional Thai curry. I cannot fault the quality of either. The curry was fragrant, fresh, and packed a punch with beautifully cooked vegetables. The turkey dinner came with an array of veg served separately. This was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Portion size was good too, especially the turkey dinner, and our plates went back clean! This meal was served in lovely, serene surroundings which made for a relaxing and laid back Sunday lunch. Our waitress was friendly and really helpful too; in fact all the staff seem nice. I can't wait to return!

« great food shame about the cleaning. »

There for my sisters wedding so did not want to cause a fuss but £90 per night was not worth it. Room 3 called a luxury kingsize suite..... there was nothing luxury about the room and it was not a suite room 1 is a suite. The room was tired and dirty the toilet seat was faulty the taps wouldn't turn off properly. The heated towel rail would not switch off it was roasting so the window was open all the time but the room was at the side of a a function room balcony and above aircon units and above the kitchen so very noisy . I went in 3 guest rooms and all had problems with dirt. On the plus the food was great at the wedding and the night reception. Overall very dissapointed and will be writing to the hotel and best western. They say free internet but most guests could not get on it is so weak. Phone signal terrible although not their fault to be fair.lovely staff but not once asked if all was well.

Stayed this weekend 8th - 10th April.. we had 3 rooms between us and all 3 were very clean and spacious the hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The food was excellent really enjoyed. Can't wait to book again... thanks, see you soon.

    « Inconsiderate and mucky. »

It is 00.35 television in the bar blaring out. No consideration for guests who are trying to sleep! The voices in the bar below room 14 are tolerable. Cleanliness needs improving filthy and door knobs falling off. Expensive for what you get. Needs a deep clean, the function room lighting cobwebs look years old! Here for a wedding otherwise would have stuck to nice clean premier inn! Want value for money go elsewhere.

    « Nice hotel »

We have stayed a few years before, so came back. Staff in reception, the bar and restaurant were all great. We stayed on a Monday night and there must have been a function on as the music was quite loud went on quite late. Might not be the best idea to put a family with a child on a room which is directly above the noisy bar... However, room was clean, comfy beds and lovely staff so can't complain too much!

« lovely place, amazing food »

I had my 21st birthday family meal here. We were taken straight to the table which was set out beautifully. They were very quick to ask us what food we wanted and the starters were out in good time. The main meal was slightly slower coming out, half the table receiving there food and the other half waiting for a while, however there was 21 of us so this is understandable. Although the food did take a lot of time, it was defiantly worth the wait, it was incredible. I will 100% be visiting this place again. Some of the staff did need to cheer up a little ( the waitresses) but the bar staff was very polite.

    « Good breakfast »

We stayed here for 1 night b and b,2 adults 2 children age 8 and 6.when I booked (well in advance )the person I spoke to said we would get 2 double beds,we had two connecting rooms!one rooms was nice ,toilet bath shower etc, double bed and television.the second room had a put you sofa bed,now I didn't have a tape measure but the matteress if you can call it that was about 1inch thick and maybe just over 3ft.it was so uncomfortable I hardly slept for trying to keep me and my grandson away from the tubular steel edges,it was awful. It was late when we went to bed so complaining at the late hour wouldn't have done us much good.then to top it all we were woken up by the decorator outside our door, the hotel was empty so we couldn't understand why we were in that room.the staff were nice and welcoming.there is no residents lounge.we stayed in room 23.

    « Cheeky Indian takeaway »

Really fancied an Indian last night so imagine our delight when we arrived at the Vine to be told that they were only running the Indian menu because the English chef had gone home!! We proceeded to order from the extensive indian menu and waited for our food to arrive with some overpriced drinks. A member of our party went to the toilet and on her way back saw no less than the manageress collecting our Indian food from a delivery driver who had dropped it off at the side door!! We didn't believe her until the waitresses bringing our food didn't have a clue what they were serving...and the english chef who had "gone home" turned up behind the bar!! Don't get me wrong the food was lovely, but the cheek of it!!!

We had originally intended to stay at The Royal for one of their music weekends but they were fully booked and so The Vine it was. Food, comfort and cleanliness were all first rate and the customer care from all the staff was exceptional. Defin itely on the list for a return visit!!

    « Not a bad find! »

The staff were very helpful and the food was nicely presented, a couple more veggie options wouldn't go amiss. The hotel has a cosy feel with small bars with fireplaces. My bedroom was small but well appointed. Everything you would expect and need. Beds were comfortable. If I needed up in Skegness again I'd stay here.

« Very helpful receptionist thank you :))))) »

only stayed for one night and I am from outside the area I was not aware how bad the phone reception / wifi would be in lincolnshire!!! So I would like to say a huge thankyou to the receptionist that gave me the office wifi code and found me a quiet area so I could work. Much appreciated indeed. Room was very clean, bed comfy, room 4 was very quiet and both dinner and breakfast were to a high standard. Have already rebooked for when I return to the area for work next month.

Great staff, even though the team was short due to illness they did everything to keep us happy. The waitress was great, it was mothers day, very busy and she was on her own but she was truly amazing even remembering that a little boy loved hash browns the day before for breakfast. The food was good quality, with generous portions. the room we had (room 3) was a good size and slightly away from the rest on the first floor so it was very quiet.id stay again.

« Helpful staff and amazing food »

My husband and I spent a long weekend here for a family wedding. From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful, anything we needed was quickly dealt with. A special mention to the bar manager Luckasz who never seems to stop and goes out of his way to provide a friendly face or a bit of chat whenever we wandered into the bar. We ate in the hotel a couple of times and the food is to a very high standard, its worth booking a table as the restaurant is very popular. They serve a variety of English and Indian food all of which was delicious and the serving size generous. If you get the chance do try the food. We were there during mothers day and the whole hotel was very busy but I didn't see anybody turned away as the staff did all they could to accommodate people. Breakfast was included in the price and is cooked fresh for you so no rubbery eggs or overcooked sausages. The waitress came in on her day off to cover a sick colleague and yet she constantly had a smile on her face and the service was quick. The rooms were clean with all the facilities needed and serviced daily. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beach and town which for us was perfect as it was close enough to go for a stroll but far enough away to avoid the noise of a busy seaside town. We would definitely visit the hotel again if we were in the area.

    « Once was enough »

Booked family room & double room for one night, main areas very clean, locals in the bar using the 'F' word at lunch time when young people in the room, no sky remote as it had been stolen the week before I was told!!, Very loud noise coming from room next to us at 12.15AM so tried to ask if they would turn it down, met with torrent of verbal abuse and then the person tried to punch/kick our door in, my wife had to stop me calling the police. After a sleepless night we checked out, appreciate the Manager deducted the cost of our room from the bill, but we will never be back

    « Two ladies lunching »

In the bar, we ordered mains and desserts, which included a taster dessert platter with 5 tiny, sweet tweets on it. Service was excellent, I only drank coffee which the bar staff served with a smile, and the premises are pleasant, indeed, could say quaint. A great place to dine prior to a long and calorie burning walk at Gibraltar Point. I'm not giving a 5 because the card machine wasn't working for payment, and also sometimes the bar person was elsewhere, meaning quite a long wait to be spotted at the bar. I think this is most likely because it was very quiet. We like eating at The Vine, and the restaurant area has recently been renovated providing a lovely atmosphere. Well worth a try.

    « Welcoming staff »

Had a two night stay, staff welcoming and helpful. The room was not what we would expect from Best Western hotel, decorated in pink with silver furniture,a bit tarty, although spotlessly clean. It would gave been nice to have had a residents lounge rather than noisy public bar lounge, only one chair in bedroom but plenty of room. Breakfast very good and cooked to order.. Did not have an evening meal, rather a limited choice,

« Home along way from Home »

We had stayed at the Vine Recently for Two Nights while visiting an Old School friend who has just hit a certain age shall we say, It was a surprise visit so we didn't want to ask him for a Hotel recommendation, We chose the Vine mainly for its location' and on the strength of the recent reviews, I have to say that both my partner and I had the most enjoyable experience, Our room certainly wasn't enormous' but it had recently been refurbished and was very pleasantly decorated and extremely comfortable and functional, The Quality of the Bed and the Bedding deserve a special mention, They were so comfortable, During our stay the hotel has hosting a function' and following a nightcap at the Very Pleasant Bar, I went off to Bed slightly concerned about the Quality of Sleep that we might get, Well I need not have worried, as somewhat Surprisingly neither of us heard as much as a Whisper, and enjoyed a great nights Sleep, followed by a nice Breakfast.. We had Dinner on our Arrival night which was from an Indian inspired menu' Which was as good as any Indian I have eaten anywhere in recent times, Apparently they have an Indian Chef which would explain the quality, We also eat Good old Fish and Chips from the Bar the following lunchtime' and again' it was Excellent .. We dined with my old School Chum's Friends and Family at a Restaurant in town on the 2nd Night' Which We both agreed had not been as good as either the Lunch' or Previous Evenings dinner at the Vine, All in all We had a Great couple of Days at this Hotel, it was a Stay that far Exceeded our Expectations, Especially the Food on offer, The Staff were both Friendly and Helpful, and we left happier than when we arrived, I would definitely Recommend The Vine, and I would use it again without hesitation' on the off chance I visit the area in future...

    « Most amazing wedding! »

We were initially skeptical about getting married in Skegness particularly in the summer. However, Jess and the other staff at the Vine made it absolutely perfect! Julie and Jess were there every step of the way for us advising and guiding how the day would go and even how we could save little bits of money. The actual hotel is stunning and extremely clean and modern. All of our friends and family told us how impressed they were with the hotel itself and the gorgeous rooms (which actually look like they do on the pictures!) The food... Well this needs a paragraph of its own!! I can only tell you how amazing it was. After all the my we spent for the entire wedding people still comment on the food! It was incredible and such a choice for the money. Please, please, please if you are thinking of choosing this amazing venue for your wedding listen to Jess as you really don't need to order much evening food! We completely over did it! Jess sorted the Dj out for us and even gave us a free bouncy castle and small gazebo. I honestly cannot rate this hotel high enough across every single area. I can honestly say they did an amazing job and made the planning process a piece of cake!

    « Nicky work stay »

an excellent hotel,in a nice quiet part of Skegness, away from the busy town, but only a short walk/drive away. The staff were all very freindly and efficient - both in the reception and eating areas, very helpful when i had left my coat there - it was posted to me without delay. The food was superb, both the English & the Indian - all fresh and quality ingredients, good size portions. This is a hidden gem in Skegness, a lovely getaway, will be back each time in the area for work and for a leisure trip away.

Perfect stay , room very nice . Great breakfast , and staff very friendly. Will stay again. Best Western was always a chain that I used for week-end breaks etc for several years , this was approx 10 plus years ago . But then the Hotel chain seemed to lose the quality . Recently trying them again has been brilliant , much improved.

    « Over cooked food »

This review is just based on the food and not the hotel. Ordered the fish basket, it arrived quickly, however the chips were over cooked to the state that they were crunchy and inedible. I left all the chips, the salmon fish cake was nice the haddock was a little well done for my liking. There was no table check, the cost of this meal with a drink was just under £15 so would of been good value if the food was enjoyable.

« Cold in more ways than one »

Pleasantly located a fair old drive along a road leading from the town centre, Vine is unusually situated at the end of the a cul-de-sac. Got myself parked and headed towards reception to find it unmanned. Fair enough, as it was around 9.30pm on a Friday night. I poked my head around a couple of corners, and after about 5 minutes a barman appeared, who told me he'd just be a moment. He wasn't, and I didn't see him again. After another 3-4 minutes, another member of staff turned up, making a vague apology. As she was signing me in, I politely asked about the times for breakfast, to which she bleated, "Yes, I'm just getting to that in a minute." So, a fairly cold welcome - almost as cold as the bathroom in my room, which was absolutely freezing. It reminded me of my Grandmother's council terrace in the 1970s. The single room was tight but comfortable enough aside from the temperature issue. On check-out, I waited a couple of minutes at 8am, which I assume is normally a fairly busy check-out time. Again, no-one showed, so I placed the keys on the reception and left, wondering if it was something I'd said....

« Amazing Food, Service not so »

Large party, asked when booking if we should pre-order due to the amount of people. I was told no it would be fine. Starters came, slowly, however one was missing, staff informed and still never arrived. Main courses came 2 and a half hours after the time our table was booked for, main courses came bit by bit, so no one was really eating together, three main courses missing, they eventually came after everyone else had finished, 2 meals were burnt on the outside, under cooked inside, so were sent back and told not to bother again. only a handful had dessert, they all arrived ok but again slowly. Food as absolutely delicious just a shame about the service, however the 3 main courses and starter weren't charged for so cant complain too much, also a round of drinks as a gesture of good will was given. Most staff were apologetic and our experience would not out us off returned as a few of us have been before and everything had previously been perfect. The restaurant, bar and function room were all very busy too, so hopefully a one off. Only other moan is that there was no Indian food being served on this evening which was also the case on my last visit.

« Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. »

Extremely friendly staff and the bar has a lovely rustic feel to it. Always feel welcome and nothing is a problem. The food is always good and you get a good size portion. Never had a bad meal. The triple piggy bun is to die for.

    « Amazing »

My family and I visited the hotel for one night and I couldn't fault the service, cleanliness and overall feeling of welcome we received upon arrival. We, as a family, would like to applaud the service and overall professionalism of the Vine Hotel and all staff, that made our stay one to remember for all the right reasons. Xx

« Great bar and restaurant »

This is a review of the bar/restaurant, not the hotel. There are 2 bars and a restaurant that you can eat in. One of the bars is cosy, with a roaring fire during the winter. The other bar has a large screen tv showing sport. Or if you want more formal, the restaurant. A great and varied lunchtime menu, which includes a 2 for £10 offer of 5 or 6 dishes, mon-fri. Most other dishes around the £10 mark. I had an amazing mushroom burger with blue cheese. It came as a huge tower stuffed with 2 big mushroom, onions, tomato, lettuce, gherkins and Mayo all delicious and juicy. Hand cut chunky chips were lovely and crunchy as were the onion rings and a nice homemade coleslaw. The 2 for £10 small fish and chips was a decent enough portion, plenty for lunch and a lovely chunky piece of fish. In the evenings there is the addition of Rubys curry to the menu. We also went on a Wednesday evening when it was curry night special where a Thali and bottle of wine for 2 is £26. The selection of curries in the Thali were very nice and we will probably go back to try the full curry menu at some time. There are specials like this each weekday evening, Mon is pasta, Tues is tapas, Weds is curry, Thurs is Steak and Fri is Fish and chips. It is shame that they do not advertise the bar food/ restaurant more on the hotel website, or even have a copy of the menu at the entrance. I have lived here for 8 years and have only just got round to trying it but might have done so sooner if the menus were more easily accessible. But now I have tried it, I will definitely be back

    « Christmas Party »

Excellent Christmas Party Night and food was delicious and restaurant quality. The food was a little slow coming out but not bad considering the 80 or so people the staff had to serve all at once. The staff were all well presented and polite and helpful. The music played by the DJ was a bit dated for us. Bedroom was decorated well and comfortable but a little on the small side. Bathroom was clean but shower was a little temperamental and the bathroom door a little tired (hinge cracked).

« Fantastic pub which we visited again and again and again... »

We come to Skegness on a relatively frequent basis as we have a holiday home nearby to the Vine, and thank goodness we do as our stay is made better knowing the vine is only a short walk away. The service and food is always excellent, kids absolutely love the varied selection and the amazing Ice cream beach scene is always a winner. Lukas (bar manager) is always a pleasure and very helpful. In the summer it's a great spot to sit out front or back and they generally have a bouncy castle which the kids love! I have not stayed at the hotel but my Dad does with his golfing friends and he is always impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. We have never had a bad meal from the Vine and their currys are amazing! Keep up the good work guys and thank you for looking after us!

« Lovely old hotel but wouldnt stay again »

Old building so there is no central heating, no double glazing. The rooms were cold but they did have electric heaters in which had to be left on. The walls made from plasterboard so can be noisy. Its a dog friendly hotel, or so it seems as there where dogs running around the pub dining area with people trying to eat. The WIFI worked sometimes. The rooms were mostly clean and house keeping did a good job. The meal service was a little slow. Top tip dont book the restaurant just eat in the pub area of the building where you dont have to book you get the same meals as the restaurant and you get them quicker!! The meals, including breakfast were excellent. The staff were nice, polite and friendly. Won't be staying again though, I thing I prefer the more modern hotels to this type of hotel. That is no reflection on the hotel.

« Best Western- Best meal »

Went here I didn't know this hotel existed. Four of us (2 couples). The hotel is a bit dated, one of the older hotels in Skeggie, did not detract from our evening there, staff very welcoming, smartly dressed and very attentive. Varied menu & drinks, food was outstanding and plentiful. May be a 3 star rating, but earns a 5 star from us.

    « LOVELY HOTEL »

We only stayed one night celebrating my husbands 65th birthday. We arrived early so had a coffee in the bar. Used the public toilets which I have to say are AMAZING. They smelt lovely and were decorated to a very high standard. There was quality soap and handcream. The room (24) was big, nice and clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom a little on the small size but had nice toiletries and clean towels. The bed was a king size (if not bigger) and the bed linen clean, fresh and white. The breakfast in the morning was fresh, plentiful, hot and tasty and was served by Joanne who was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this Best Western Hotel above the other one in Skegness.

    « Amazing Food »

Just had another amazing meal from Ruby's it was worth the drive all the way from the Parrot Zoo. We had 5 different dishes and all five were lovely. Five stars isn't enough the quality is excellent. Do not be shy get yourselves there for a meal.

« The best Best Western in skeggy »

This was our second visit to the vine, as before the staff were very friendly. The hotel is only rated at 3star so don't expect 5star amenities but it is very clean and comfortable. The food is excellent and freshly cooked to order and I would definitely say the food is worth 5star plus. If you make a reservation and you are not to good on your feet then I recommend you ask for a first floor room. If you want a evening meal I suggest you reserve a table as soon as you check in as the resturant is very popular

    « Comfortable stay »

I have stayed at the Vine many times and OK no lift, strange steps to the second floor, but the rooms are always comfortable and clean, the staff are usually very efficient and friendly, and breakfast is always good, the waitress for breakfast who has been there a while is always excellent especially when a grumpy morning person like me is around, she is a credit to the Hotel The bar serves very good food and again very friendly all in all a good place to stay

    « Alright my Luv!! »

A typical Best Western hotel, some money spent but not enough to ever encourage me to visit again. Restaurant bar has been modernised. A shame the decorations are rough at the top of the stairway to bedrooms. Room OK if you like plastic crystal on your bed and curtains. They have tried but not to my choice. My visitor and myself did not eat in, as there was a dog running around the bar/restaurant jumping up on chairs and knocking things off the table. Menu was very Indian from my limited reading, after picking menu up off the floor after the dog episode. I was not sure if the waitress was speaking to me at breakfast when being addressed by the waitress as "Alright my Luv" The breakfast was horrible, all appeared to have been deep fried in a nasty tasting fat I will certainly not be back. Would recommend others to carefully consider, think there must be better options

    « Always a lovely meal »

My family have been frequenting the vine for years it's recent room refurbishments are nice and the restaurants and bars have never failed to keep us all fed and watered with good food and drinks :-) That said just had the curries available via the vine and we thought they were excellent too.

« Best Western in Skegness? »

Poor reception area. No lift to upper floors. Windows in room frosted glass so no chance to admire the view or to check the weather, like being in a prison cell. No heating in bathroom, except towel rail, so it was very cold in December. Dirty tables in bar / lounge. Expensive bar snacks. No English food in restaurant. If this is the best "Best Western" in Skegness, heaven help the other one!

    « Return visit »

Another lovely couple of days ?? ..... Great room , friendly staff always offering excellent service, tasty food ( wish we'd had the Sunday lunch instead of going up the road) and a very peaceful atmosphere ..... We did check that there were no big functions on during our stay as this would have put us off ! The log fire was super too. The location of this hotel is just right for us .... A stroll into town one way and a brisk cycle to Gibraltar Point the other way ! Big thank you to the excellent staff in particular ??????

« Klassiskt engelskt pub-hotell med indisk smak »

Rural hotel in traditional English style with nice garden . Secluded from the main road in Skegness. Courteous staff , good breakfast, cozy pub atmosphere and Indian menu . The food was not the same class as the hotel. Easy to get lost in the narrow aisles , passageways , stairs and level differences , not for the disabled . Wifi connection is screwed , a helpful employee managed to restart the router . The staff was very flexible with rebuilding and bookings so that we could stay several nights.

whent for 60th birthday meal it was fantastic .the restaurant was well set out and looked great .the staff could not do enough for us .looking forward to going again sooner rather than later .would recomend this all day long .

    « Birthday meal celebration »

The food was excellent and we will most certainly be returning. My only niggle was there were no desserts that were what I would call sharp or citrus.. As with most places it all seems to be heavy desserts. It's nice to have a sharp tasting dessert sometimes that doesn't sit heavy. That said I will be returning very soon!

« Best hotel in Skegness »

An excellent hotel with wonderful staff, esp Helen, Jules , Toni and Lukasz. Will always be my 1st choice in Skegness . The restaurant is always busy, which indicates that the locals frequent it, so I would suggest booking a table. Ample parking, and a 25 minute walk from the town centre.

« Dad in Laws 80th weekend away! »

Lovely staff, comfy clean room & food was delicious! Bedrooms looked liked they had been recently refurbished. Corridors obviously hadn't yet been done yet. Stair cases steep for 80 year old so if you're taking the elderly or disabled just make sure their rooms are on the lower floor. Overall an excellent stay.

    « We found a real gem »

We booked 2 family rooms for us to extend our trip to Butlins in Skegness. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast as soon as we arrived the kids all jumped out the car with a football and ran off to play! We received a really warm welcome booked our dinner time for 7 PM and went off to find our rooms what a pleasant surprise the rooms are a really great size and beautifully decorated in modern decor the beds were so comfy! We arrived for dinner early as the kids were hungry and we were so well looked after and the food was amazing we all really amazed at how great the food was the restaurant is really modern and has clearly been recently renovated. Breakfast was really yummy so much choice for everyone. This hotel was a great find and we will certainly be back again it's rare to find such a friendly hotel with fantastic service and great food these days.

« Pleasant Stay in Historic Building »

Very comfortable night and a good breakfast. Very helpful staff especially the girl from Belfast. Historic building with a great deal of history. Set in a quiet location with pleasant grounds I imagine it gets quite busy with locals at the weekend, I didn't have the opportunity to dine in the evening but locals tell me that the restaurant is very good indeed.

« Good but could be great »

A good meal well cooked. The dining room has been modernised and the entrance is being done at the moment. Spoilt by silly little things such as small tables pushed together to form a larger table but they are different heights. Meals brought out for everyone except one who had to wait a good five minutes. I feel sure it had been forgotten but staff kept saying "it won't be long". Bread and butter had been ordered to go with the Fish and chips and it was forgotten. We had a good evening and enjoyed the food and probably will go again but someone needs to sort out the details.

« Glad we changed from North Shore »

I must say what a totally different hotel the Vine is compared with the other Great Western Hotel in Skegness, The North Shore. Friendly happy staff who can't do enough for you. As I stayed for 2 nights, came back the 2nd day to find my room had been made up, unlike the North Shore. Hotel currently under minor refurbishment, but the work is being kept to a minimal. Will defiantly be using this hotel again whilst on business in Skegness.

    « A difficult day made better »

Visiting family to organise a funeral and stayed overnight at this hotel. A warm welcome and the room was clean and comfortable, the bed had fresh sheets on and we had a good nights sleep. We sat downstairs in the bar before going to bed and fancied a cheeseboard and even though it was 20 minutes after the kitchen closed they happily obliged, only one comment which sounds picky but no cheese knife! However my husband got a knife and fork and I got a fork and spoon! Food was lovely and staff friendly. We will be going to Skegness again soon and will definitely go back. Thank you.

    « Our wedding »

Myself and my husband recently got married at the vine hotel. Throughout the day we were looked after by Jules manager of hotel. She was organised and very kind putting us first and making us feel special on the day. The wedding, reception and evening party was all there and the use of the garden also. I feel I need to mention a comment about the food. It was divine I had many guests coming up to me saying how good the food was. The hotel staff all worked long hours on our wedding days and still had a smile. I wish to thank them for making our day so special. Would recommend anyone wanting to get married to have a look

« Great Hotel, Staff and Food »

Stayed 2 nights while on business in the area. Fairly small hotel - 26 rooms - and underg going out of season refurbishment. My room was 26, top floor and was very clean and had plenty of room. Bed was nice and comfy but shower wasnt very powerful. Nice views of the grounds though. Breakfast started at 7:30am which is a bit later than I would have liked, but you couldn't fault the service or the food which was freshly cooked to order. I had porridge one morning and poached eggs the other and both were very nice. We ate (party of 4) in the hotel bar each nighy while watching sky sports on the large screen. Food was again very tasty and freshly cooked and also reasonably priced. I ate from the Indian menu on the first night and it was as good as any Indian restaurant I have been in. I ate gammon the next night and again had no complaints. The menu offers a Tapas special on a Tuesday which means the Indian menu isnt available that night. Only small complaint was that the bathroom toiletries were not replenished on the second day, but other than that, a great hotel for the price with friendly staff (Tony and Lukasz on the bar) and tasty food.
