    « Nice Enough »

I am here for work and will need to come back as Best Western is the preferred motel chain for the company. Room is ok as far as rooms go. However it is a room set fot up to two people, and yet there is only one face cloth. I hoped there would be 2 clothes. The soap, i cake that has to be shared with the shower and hand basin. You have to go to the shower to get the soap to wash your hands. Very very few people use shower caps these days. You supply a white face cloth and yet no make up removal options. So the nice white face cloth is now brown. Dinner. At the restaurant the sign says please wait to be seated. It is a beautiful looking restaurant. Then from the other side of the room the waitress yells table for 1 take any of these. What is the point of the sign. Service was a bit slack, but they did say they were short staffed, so my next visit will be interesting as far as restaurant servuce is concerned. Apart from that it us ok and ticks all the company boxes.

    « Great Service - Cathy »

I stayed here recently for work and was pretty happy with the room i had, comfortable bed, bathroom was great. I was greeted very warmly by Cathy on the sunday night, she was just amazing super friendly & such a wonderful person to have on the front desk. I usually call ahead when i book a room to make sure the room has a microwave, this time i forgot as i bought my own dinner to heat up. I went to the reception and spoke with Cathy about my meal dilemma as hotels dont usually like to heat up meals for you Cathy was more than happy to do this for me. A huge thank you Cathy for your friendlieness and heating up my dinner for me. Just for the service alone i would absolutley stay here again. Be aware the cockatoo's make an incredible racket around 7am, didn't bother me as im always awake by this time, all the same great hotel.

    « We had a great night »

We booked a spa suite for our wedding anniversary. The room was quite big, very well appointed and clean. The spa was big enough for two people. The view overlooking the lake was very nice. Great for a romantic getaway.

    « No problem here »

Stayed two nights for work purposes and definitely no problem here. Reception and dining room staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and all that was needed for two overnight stays. Swimming pool had a fair bit of leaf debris yet was most welcome on these extremely warm days. Had dinner in the dining room on the first night and this was very good indeed. It's only a short walk into the town centre for other choices and the SPC factory shop is closely too. Would stay here again when next on business in Shepparton.

    « average »

motel opposite a recreation area. nothing at all to recommend this motel. average in all respects. 1 face washer for a couple? hmmm. when trying to have a shower at about 10PM there was no hot water. on phoning reception was asked was i turning the tap on the right way? well i've used taps before & i think i have a pretty good grasp as to how they work. also the great big arrows on the tap handle indicating which way the handle is to be turned is a dead giveaway. asked to wait & was told that i must have hot water as the kitchen has boiling hot water & all water is the same on the property. tried again...still no hot water. phoned reception again & reception came to the room & ran the hot water in the vanity sink. was told it was getting warmer & to give it about 15 minutes. eventually i had a lukewarm shower. next morning reception asked about the shower & that a plumber would be called to probably sort out the washers. i don't think it is a washer problem.

« Reasonable place to stay »

We stayed overnight on a long road trip. Decent rooms, reasonable bed, and nice and clean. We did not eat here, but there were plenty of people in the restaurant which is always a good sign. Not too far to walk down to the centre of Shepparton either (about 20mins).

    « Very comfortable. »

Booked on-line and arrived to an efficient check-in. Room had modern and very comfortable furnishings, ensuite also very good. Most rooms are at ground level with parking at your door. All very attractive. Bar service was excellent, it was a hot day; didn't try the restaurant but it looked good. Would definitely stay again. The Carrington was competitively priced when I booked.

    « Very classy »

My friend and I went to this restaurant with a group we belong to called Just Dinner. We go to a different place once a month. November was when we went to the Carrington. This is a very classy restaurant. Loved the decor. The presentation of tables 1st class. Lovely white starched table cloths, and lovely tea light candle ornaments gave it extra class and sparkle. The menu was very varied. We opted for a seafood fettuccine. Scallops prawns crab meat and fresh white fish. The fettucine was done in a olive oil and fresh parsley. It was fabulous. We also opted for an entree as a main course, it was generous service an d $18:00. Service was attentive. This is a special place for special occasions. Definitely a must.

    « Overnight stay. »

A quiet beautifully appointed motel with luxury fixtures, easy access for parking. Luxury facilities and king size bed. Lovely restaurant attached with very attentive staff which is what we were looking for.

« Pool not in operation »

We needed a room for the night and were attracted to this hotel by the view of the pool on trip advisor. So we booked it! It was a hot day and we had been travelling so we wanted to cool down in the pool. Disappointed to find its closed for renovation and has been for some time. Also restaurant closed on Sunday!!!! However, on the plus side room was very clean and comfortable

« Starting to feel dated »

Have stayed at the Carrington a few times. Quite convenient to everything with a good quality restaurant. However now starting to feel worn and although the unit had been cleaned, it struggled. Carpet felt like replacement was a must. I was in late and left early which can stretch the booking system, so confirm your arrangements

« Reasonable accommodation with clean rooms »

I found this accommodation to be good value for money. Rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of free parking on site. Staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with. Restaurant at this property has a varied menu selection with prices reasonable. Maybe staff could have been a bit quicker to take our order but at least you weren't pressured to eat and run. Pleasant view of the lake opposite in the restaurant. Overall I would recommend this property and would gladly stay there again

    « Didn't bother after rude treatment »

I had booked to stay at this motel for my son's recent wedding through booking.com, and had submitted a request for an early check-in via that site. When my request wasn't answered a few days before I rang them direct only to be told it would be impossible to get access to a room just two hours earlier than usual check-in unless I booked the previous night. The person on the phone was very abrupt and would not even try to help us, as we had to leave for the wedding early I had no alternative but to cancel. I was happy to try another motel nearby and they were extremely helpful and accommodating!

« Nice place to stay »

Stayed 3 nights for work. Very neat and tidy. Lovely rooms. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant with lovely food. Ate in the onsite restaurant all three nights, different meal each night. Plenty of choices on the menu. Lovely ordered hot breakfast. Would recommend.

    « Best Western Shepparton »

Very clean and tidy rooms with tasteful decor. Great menu selection in the restaurant with lovely wait staff. Should have been offered an express checkout for early departure as there was no one on the premises until 7.30 am

« Great room with great view over the lake »

Was a great room with lovely decor and fittings. TV was a little smaller than expected but having a view over the lake in the morning made up for it. Spa bath was great addition to the room and coffee machine was a nice addition as well.

    5
« Beautifully appointed and located »

Got upgraded to a spa room with balcony and view over the lake. Very well finished rooms and beds are King size and comfortable. I stay in motels/hotels 150 + nights a year so this definitely rates up there with the better ones

    « Top regional hotel »

Polite and friendly staff, Restaurant was good quality and reasonable prices. Can be hard to get into if not booking in advance. Clean with large screen tv's which also have pay tv options. Recommend this hotel to all.

    4
    « Clean and roomy »

The room was roomy, bright, and clean. A big writing desk was a big tick. Room facilities and amenities were good, nice and big bathroom with corner spa. While it was chilly, I could not help opening the window in the morning to enjoy the view of the lake. The downside is rather personal, no fitness facility. Some kind of arrangements with nearby gym would have been nice, hence one less mark.

    « Shepparton visit »

We were lucky enough to end up in a room in the main building . This was a lovely upstairs room with heaps of space and a balcony. We did not get to see any other rooms so we tried to book the same room again in May and found the price we were quoted by the hotel to be very expensive -we stayed elsewhere :(

    « Great stay »

I have been staying here for 3 nights over this Queens birthday long weekend. The room is very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very helpful. Front of office staff were very welcoming and obliging. I would highly recommend.

    « Beautiful rooms »

I stay here regularly on work trips. The rooms are beautiful and have everything you need. I recommend room service breakfast also. A great location near lake and many rooms have views. Service for cooked breakfast in dining room can be a little slow if you eat early, but the staff are helpful and the food is delicious

« Rude owner using the hotel for family events at cost of other paying guests »

Extremely rude and disrespectful staff! no effort to assist with any issues that we faced during our stay. Overbooked hotel due to owners daughters engagement! Blaring music and partying till 1am! Underage drinking! would never make the mistake of staying here again! 100% agree with the previous reviews, I was not part of this group but can completely understand why they were so upset! Who wants to come back to find no parking available, see underage teenagers drinking and smoking out the front of the building and listen to loud music until 1am! Inside the room there were stained carpets that were coming up from the floor, only one coffee Pod available to drink (too bad if your partner wants one too), house cleaning services only made available for 2 hours in the morning (make sure you don't sleep in). All I can say is BUYER BEWARE there are so many other options in the area, don't make the same mistake we did!

« good value, rooms and decor are a bit tired »

Here for a two night stay, we stayed in the main building and the room was a good size. It could have been a bit cleaner and the decor& fittings are all a bit tired looking. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. I really disliked the cheap soap.

    « False Advertising »

We paid for a King Executive room through cheaptickets.com. At the hotel we were provided with what they told us was a King Executive. It was not a King Executive, it was a queen room. Our room was exactly as depicted in the photos of the queen room on both cheaptickets and the hotels website. Exact same decor, exact same size couch etc. King Executives are depicted only as rooms with modern decor. When we raised our concerns with the hotel staff they wern't helpful and kept telling us that it was a king room. In the end we just gave up as we were not getting anywhere with the staff. We chose the room when booking based on the modern look of the room and paid extra for that. We were not provided with what we paid for and were really dissapointed. There seems to be an error with the advertising somewhere that needs to be rectified.

« Poor facilities and rude management!!!! »

We had checked in to The Best Western Carrington for a two night stay, as my daughter was getting married in the area when the rudeness from the receptionist began. Travelling as a group most of the party all experienced something of disappointment. Our concerns and issues started from Saturday evening when we were unable to park our cars in the hotel carpark facilities dedicated to hotel guests. The carpark was full from the engagement party we were advised was happening in the hotel from our friends/family staying with us. As paying guests this was very frustrating. We were unable to go to sleep when we did get back due to the thumping music and crowd lingering out the front of our accommodation room in the carpark, so we went to one of my daughter's rooms that was at the end of the car park to avoid the noise as much as possible. When heading back to our rooms it was pitch black, the hotel staff had turned off all the lights in the carpark and the lights inside the main building. Thankfully my husband and our friends had their phones with them and we used the torch to see where we were going. It was so dark we couldn't even see the numbers on the doors. Currently I am on crutches and this was a dangerous hazard for me fearing I would trip over and injure myself further. The remaining of the stay was disappointment after disappointment, the hotels cleanness isn't to a standard paying guests should experience. The description on the website for guest rooms don't match the live product. There is also no service for disability guests despite having a wheel chair sign in reception just near the staircase. The staircase railing is loose towards the bottom it slides forward creating another major hazard which I personally experienced a near miss but was lucky to have my daughter with me to catch and support my balance and the shower tiles and vanity are extremely slippery and either need to be resurfaced or cleaned to a proper standard to remove any residue. Wouldn't stay here again nor recommend to anyone, Parkview next door seems to have better service and facilities if you need to be in this area - stay there!!

    « Rude and disrespectful receptionist/owner Mary »

I am absolutely disgusted with the way I was spoken to upon arrival to this hotel by Mary. We were attacked straight away she would not let us get a word in. We were told 20mins before arrival that our room is not available because it was flooded and if we didn't want to except standard room they will cancel our booking, making it out like it was our fault. Mind you we travelled from Melbourne so a 2hr drive for a wedding that we needed to get ready for and I'm pregnant which I advised her I didn't need the stress. When we were checking in Mary completely attacked us as soon as I said my name, making it out like it was our fault. No customer service what so ever very unprofessional. I have never been spoken to like that and I have travelled the world. Mary actually had me in tears and still continued to attack me in the foyer. Thank you for wrecking our kid free weekend Mary. I am incomplete shock how somebody could be so rude to customers and I believe you are the owner. I will never stay there again or recommend staying here.

    « WORST STAY EVER!! »

The host Mary double booked people on the weekend of the 6/7 of May. We had friends already staying there and they gave me the heads up of the double booking of everyone and the nightmare they called 'Mary'. I thought how bad could she be?? Literally 20min before getting to the hotel we received a phone call saying that our room was flooded. Either we get moved to a lesser room (we booked the presidential suite) or they have to cancel the booking. Knowing they already double booked I called there bluff and said 'that's fine I want to personally see this flooded room'. Let's just say I got my room in the end cause there was no flooded room. Good luck if you want to stay here, no customer service what so ever!!We were also attacked with abuse from the get go by Mary. Absolutely disgusting behavior to show a paying customer. « Poor management and respect !! »

We were suppose to be on a high celebrating my sisters wedding and did some research on which accommodation appeared to be the nicest to help celebrate a magical day. Wow, did we get a surprise when checking into the Best Western, Carrington. Upon check-in of three guest rooms, we were told that our rooms weren't available and we were to be placed into queen rooms vs the executive king rooms that had been booked & pre-paid for. The reason for this was due to management having an engagement party on Saturday night. With confirmation letters we demanded to have the rooms we had booked. After 30 min of being spoken to rudely by the receptionist we finally we given our room keys. We went to one of the rooms which over looked the car park to find out this wasn't the room we had booked via the website. Working for a hotel myself, I went back and politely advised the receptionist she had given us the wrong room and I was not leaving until she gave us the correct room. She told me that hotel was fully booked and she couldn't give us what we had booked. I advised the images on the website are false advertising and again wanted the keys to the room type we had booked and paid for. After another 40min of discussing there rude service and manner in which they treat guests, I finally got the room we had booked and paid for which was upstairs overlooking the lake, this is known as the executive king room. The disappointing thing was this room was booked for my sister who was the bride we were here to celebrate her special day. We had purely booked this room based on the photos we saw on the website so that my sister could have beautiful wedding photos taken whilst getting ready. I was in a different room, which was in the carpark. This room had such different facilities to the one my sister was in, yet the receptionist said they were the same room type. The room we were in had a pull out sofa, view of the carpark and no pod coffee machine nor DVD player which is listed to be a feature of the room. The decor was very different and slightly smaller in size, the room the bride had booked had a balcony overlooking the lake, a pod coffee machine - which was broken, a new corner couch for photos and was slightly larger in size. It got worse; when we received a knock on the door by someone we believe was the manager who started abusing us and saying we are not allowed to have this room and have to either move it pay more money to stay there. We re showed this lady the confirmation letter we had from our booking which stated this room type was what we had booked and she stormed off. After the wedding Saturday night the party all headed back to the hotel where we all found it frustrating that we were paying guests and we couldn't get into car parks. I walked into the venue and had to demand two spots so We had somewhere to park our vehicles. The facilities of this hotel really need to have some attention, the fountain down stairs doesn't work and is completely empty, there is no lights on the outdoor rooms so walking back from the reception area to the rooms down in the carpark are very unsafe, especially when they have carpark concrete blocks which are an extreme trip hazard. The staircase coming down from the upstairs rooms is very loose and falls off, the hotel doesn't cater for disability impaired guests and management needs a refresh. They also need to correct there cleaning notification as we tried to get the room refreshed on Saturday and were told this wasn't possible due to the cleaner not being available when we had a cleaning card left in the room saying dial 9 for such service. Would never recommend this hotel, stay next door or anywhere else but here!!!

« A rude and disrespectful hotel ... never stay here! »

I recently was staying for two nights at the Best Western-Carrington and experienced the worst customer service I've ever faced. I had booked a king executive room based on the look from the photos I had seen on the website & was staying with my friend where we were planning on using this room to get ready for her wedding and have pre wedding photos taken in there. Checkin took over 30 minutes where we were told the hotel was booked due to the owners daughter having her engagement party there on Saturday night and due to this they had to move us into the queen room in the carpark area. I was disgusted that the management team of this hotel put there family and friends prior to paying guests. We refused the queen room as we looked at the decor and look of the room and were not impressed. It was so different and we were shocked thinking how were we suppose to get photos in the room for my friends wedding with where it was positioned "over looking a carpark". The room we had booked had a balcony and we knew we could have photos over looking the lake. After an hour we finally were able to check into the correct room type booked. I was in there alone when after 20 min in this room I received a knock on the door. Thinking it was one of our friends traveling with us I opened the door to get abused by a lady I believe was the hotel manager. She spoke to me in a manner I have never been spoken to before. Yelling and screaming at me saying I wasn't allowed to be in this room and it had been given to me by mistake. In shock I said I had a confirmation letter stating I had booked this room type and prepaid for the room and showed her. After this she rudely grunted and walked away. I was so distraught and upset didn't feel safe in this room or hotel for the entire period I was staying there. The room itself had a pod coffee machine which didn't work, as well as a lot of cobwebs and dust in the corners of the room. When also adding some additional juice and water into the mini bar I noticed that the bottle of water that was already in the mini bar had been half drunk and placed back into the fridge. Clearly house keeping don't check these facilities daily. Saturday morning we tried to get our room refreshed and as per the card left from the cleaner stating "we clean between 10 and 2 or if you require cleaning outside these times please dial 9". When we did this, the response we received was "we leave at 2 and wont clean your room today". In the end we had to make the bed ourselves just so when the photographer came the bed looked nicely made. We also tried to ask for some additional champagne flutes to have a toast in the room with the bride and the family before departing. This was organized Friday evening and Saturday came and no flutes. We went downstairs to ask for them again and got told we had to bring them to the room ourselves. So we did!! What sort of customer service is this. Saturday evening after the wedding we drove back and to much disgust we were shocked that we had nowhere to park our cars. As paying guests how can the carpark facilities be full, when each hotel room is allocated one carpark! We also had issue going into the hotel Saturday night as the engagement party downstairs had taken over the entrance, foyer, car parking facilities and venues downstairs. The noise from the party was so loud it vibrate the entire hotel lobby and guest rooms. Very disrespectful I think when we had all booked our rooms back in February and when booking them we had no issues of choosing any room category, so clearly this hotel has no hotel management skills. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone! Worst vibe and service ever!!

    « Good country accommodation »

The rooms, although a little outdated, are very comfortable, very clean, good air conditioning, lovely large bathrooms, and mostly very quiet. Parking by Shepparton standards is excellent. All staff are very friendly and helpful.

« Disgusting reception and room »

Grumpy dont want to be here receptionist. On arrival I asked do you have a nice room for us. Reply " You booked through the agency ( best western) so you only get what you paid for." The room externally as with all others was tired. It had a low cost low experience refurbe. The security catch was incorectly fitted and did not operate. The bathroom door was incorrectly fitted and only closed to a 4" gap. The toilet seat was incorrectly fitted and moved 2" left or right at its descretion. The shower screen was incorrectly fitted and floded the toilet area when using the shower.

Stayed there with my husband & 2 children (9,7) for 2 nights midweek. Room was clean and bathroom was also clean and modern (and had a hairdryer).Kids slept on sofa bed (comfort level was ok). Room cleaned daily & fresh towels provided.Room had a mini fridge, kettle and toaster and huge tv. No DVD player though. Motel is directly across from the lake -about a 2 min drive to the town centre.

« Comfortable, clean, spacious room opposite the lake at a reasonable rate »

We are staying here for a business trip. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a spa room. The location is great, across the road from the lake and close to the city centre but need a car unless you don't mind walking. The room is spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable. Has tea and coffee making facilities. Can hear a bit of the street traffic but not too bad. Nice hot showers. And a good accommodation rate. Very happy staying here. Also, it was a warm day and the air conditioning works well too.

What a great place to stay!.. Great location, excellent facilities, helpful, friendly and accommodating staff.. This was the perfect spot to stay while attending the Shepparton Shake-Out... only minutes from the showgrounds and the centre of town with easy parking.. The restaurant is great, with a good menu at respectable prices.. I'll be back next year!

    « A Fabulous Weekend... »

We celebrated our 40 year School Reunion at the Carrington in Shepparton and it was a huge success (there were around fifty of us). This was mostly thanks to Mary, Kathy and the staff at the Carrington, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The function room was perfect, with facilities for a powerpoint, and music throughout the night. The food was wonderful - plenty of it and beautifully cooked. Although it was finger food, everyone was happy with the amount and quality. Drinks were served at bar prices, and the range catered for all tastes. Mary and the team made sure that we had everything we needed for the event to run smoothly and everyone commented on the great choice of venue. A number of our ex-students stayed overnight in the accommodation which was terrific - lovely and quiet. Breakfast next day was held in the restaurant, and again, nothing was too much trouble when quite a number of us turned up! Two of the restaurant staff particularly, went out of their way to make us welcome (I think Linda? and a gentleman whose name I didn't catch). All in all, I would highly recommend The Carrington for a fabulous experience!

« Good Location, Average Stay »

This hotel is in a good spot in Shepparton and for the price was not a bad value. However, the staff seem to have some serious tension between upper and lower-middle management. They had trouble getting us checked in due to miscommunications between faculty and blamed each other. There was a wedding party going on during the weekend of the Triathlon so those who needed to sleep were kept up by loud music and people drinking in the car park until 11pm. The rooms were ok, small bathrooms with some average plumbing but bed was large and comfortable. The TV and dvd players were very old and dvd player was broken. There was nothing special about the rooms and we were glad we got the booking at a low price. Overall, I think for Shepparton it is one of the better places to stay as some of our other mates who were racing said their accommodations were even worse elsewhere. We did not try the restaurant in the hotel but it seemed clean nice and was open for breakfast. The main lobby and toilets were clean and comfortable. For a discounted price it is a good value. There was parking and again all in a good location, across from Victoria Park and near shops and cafes.

    « pleasantly surprised »

Business trip again and one night in Shepparton. Checked in and found booking had been made for one week later. This was not a problem, still got the same standard of room that was booked. Reception staff very helpful as she was about to go off duty but stayed to make sure all was okay. Room was half way down eastern ground floor side of rooms. Parking outside room not designated and was warned that external dining guest may take park spot if I was out for the evening! Room was very surprising. The decor made me think I was in an upmarket Hotel rather than a rural motel in NE Victoria. Very neutral tones, and a comfy chair. Dinner and breakfast in my room. Dinner was pretty slow to arrive but was not too bad when it got there.Staff friendly. I have noted other comments about the grounds. It was hard winter and obviously outdoor pool was not in use,BUT it was pretty grotty with leaves and general detritus around the enclosed area. For later guests, I doubt the area had been touched since the previous summer. Suggestion to Best Western plus Carrington: Designated parking for your in-house guests. They are your bread and butter and casual external diners find parking in other areas.

« Lovely spacious room; beautiful reception decor; no indoor pool as advertised; outdoor pool unkept and dirty. »

This review may sound a bit heated, as i am so upset i am writing even before checking out. I am heavily pregnant and booked a night away before baby comes - i chose this hotel as it had a beautiful outdoor pool and all i wanted was to enjoy the water. Check in was delayed due to computer issues so it gave.me time to go look at the pool - it was very dirty....  When asked about it, reception staff said they couldnt do anything as 'the boys' werent there and she did not know when and if that could be fixed. Later i was told it would take up to 4 hours to clean it so they wouldnt do it - they didnt even take the bugs from the top! I even offer to do it myself and heard a big no. Back in the room i had a look on Booking.com and realised an indoor pool was advertised; i went to reception to ask and was quickly shut down by another reception lady 'Wotif is wrong, there is no indoor pool'. Followed by not believing me that the outdoor one was dirty, saying the problem was a storm 'the other day'. The pool area was covered in cobwebs, the water feature was off, chairs with thick brown dust, branches and bugs in the water and the worst: black slime coming off the pool floor tiles. To make a long story short: in the 2 instances - with 2 different staff members i was antagonised. They were confrontational and actually raised their voice to me, acting like i was being a total inconvenience. They did not feel accountable for any of the issues, blaming the weather, the external websites, changes i made to my reservation, the busy wedding they were having that day.. Not once i  had an apology or any show of good customer service, a show of care and concern - even if nothing could really be done, their attitude was the biggest problem: lack of care for the customer. The second lady walked off on me saying i could come for breakfast the next day. As if getting free breakfast was the reason for this. They didnt spoil my weekend because I didn't let them, but this was a terrible experience. Certainly not coming back, a shame as the premisses are actually lovely. Latest news: coming back from dinner our parking spot was taken and apparently is a free for all and you might have to park in the street...

Lovely place , great staff, even with the out break of Mozzies there were right on hand to fix it . Asked the lovely lady at night for a plates and cutlery after restaurant was closed and it was no trouble for her to get them for us .

Checked in to this hotel. Went to have a swim in the pool however it was dirty so wasn't able to swim. Very disappointed with this. Room was lovely. Bed bit uncomfortable. Great big tv. Would still stay again. Extra bonus was the fly/bug spray to get rid of the mozzies that made their way into the room.

« Great location opposite the lake »

In Shepparton for work and this was the last available room. The suite was very large however little furniture where you can sit and be comfortable. Heating was cranked up to 30 degrees to keep room warm, no hope for bathroom which is very spacious but it was like walking into a cool room.

« Not bad for Country accommodation »

I grew up in Shepp so I'm not always a glass half full with views of the town. This place was great. Fresh clean and modern. Rooms were smallish but no biggie. It was clean and modern so that suits me. Parking to the front of the room so under our watchful eye. Sounds weird but it's that old style Hotel where you can drive up to your room past reception. Even though it was to cool for a swim there is a pool and a restaurant so all services at hand. Can walk into town centre but we drove. Don't want anyone remembering me !. Overall quite good and for a special price under $120 I'd stay again.

    « Overnight Stay »

Check in was quick and smooth, I had a room upstairs which overlooked the back garden and parking lot. Parking was easy for my large 4WD. Room was generous in size, clean and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower pressure was great. TV had a great selection of channels. Great stay and friendly staff. Check out was also faultless.

    « A Cut Above - Classy »

A quality & tasteful motel, fitted out to impress! A delight to stay in. WIFI internet was not secure & very difficult to get connected to. cobwebs on ceiling cornices in bathroom didn't quite go with the decor though.

How hard is it, regional Victoria? To drag yourselves from the till and into the rooms you're providing? Freezing cold in Shepparton..freezing. Three rooms booked..none together as 'we're full with corporates tonight'. The globe in my bedside lamp has blown..the room is freezing and ordinary. The Tv control doesn't work properly and the milk for tea/coffee,long life rubbish...seriously...how hard is it to replace this crap with a little jug of fresh milk..? Or to pop down a little prior to our expected arrival to turn the heaters on? It's the little things, always...

    « A great experience! »

Stayed here for two nights and it was lovely. Very clean and everything was new and well looked after. Service was exceptional. Staff very friendly and willing. Overall an extremely pleasant experience.

    « Wonderful staff »

We arrived late due to airline hold-ups. The host, Mary, was so accommodating in ensuring that we would be able to get access to our room no matter what time we arrived. The dining room staff were also friendly and helpful. It sounds cliche but real country hospitality. The room was clean. We would recommend this motel.

    « Sensational »

We stayed two nights at the Carrington and could not fault a thing. Great location (across from the lake) and only took a few minutes to walk into the CBD. We had one meal in the restaurant and all the staff were just magnificent. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms were modern and stocked with great quality toiletries. We will definitely stay at the Carrington again.

Food & service here is very good quality. Ambience is warm & welcoming. Has a small relaxed couch area for pre dinner drinks or coffee/dessert. Always a favorite for us. Nice view across the lake. Open for dinner only though

    « Not a Best Western Plus »

I would compare this hotel to Kew Victoria, another Best Western Accomodation. Certainly not in the same category. The rooms are certainly a lot smaller, specially for a Excutive King. Sure yes it is very clean, as it should be. The shower was just a common one, nothing out of the ordinary, not that you stay in the shower, however comparing it to Kew the Carrington is the same as any Jo blow motel on the side of the road. I think I would try somewhere else before coming back. Oh, we stayed in the Excutive King Room, what a let down.

    « Clean and tidy »

Stayed here for a night on our way to Melbourne and this motel is pleasant, easily located on the main road and quiet. The room was smallish however clean and tidy and had all the necessary amenities one would need to rest up after a long drive. The receptionist was friendly and recommended several local eateries for us to choose from. A very pleasant stay.

    « good value »

Stayed for 1 night in early June as part of a work trip. My room was very comfortable, good size bed and tv and the shower was really really good. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious ( i had the pork belly) and there was a good wine selection. Breakfast was also tasty and ample. The room and breakfast deal was value for money.

« Can be noisy on the weekend »

Stayed here on a Saturday night and called while on the road and paid $150 for a room. The Good: Comfy Bed, Clean Room, Big TV, real milk. Pleasant receptionist. Room ambience. The Bad: Poor range of pillows, carpark was being used by restaurant patrons so no parking right outside room, noisy (but it died down as the restaurant closed). Wifi that is free but continuously kicked me off - so annoying. For the price I probably wouldn't stay here again I am a light sleeper and enjoy winding down surfing the net and playing Words with Friends.

« A little bit of bling in Shepparton »

We stayed for two nights in Shepparton during a recent road trip to Victoria. The Best Western Plus is a fine accommodation choice, with comfortable and spacious rooms and importantly a very clean bathroom. It is a bit of a walk to the main shopping area but we weren't there to shop, we spent each day touring. Our main purpose was to visit Cactus Country in Strathmerton. We ate in the dining room on the first night and the food was good and plentiful. The second night we ordered room service and again the food was really good - a warning though, don't order too much, the meals are very large. The lobby and dining room are very glitzy with a touch of Hollywood, and we loved the added bling in the rooms by way of the lampshades with the glowing New York skyline. These little touches make a difference, especially in a regional hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room was quiet and restful.

    « Great stay »

Stayed here for one night for work and it was an excellent stay. Wonderful staff. Beautiful rooms and lovely restaurant. Loved the way I was treated as a single person, dining alone! Great location near the lake and within distance of everything I needed.

I stayed in Mansion room on opposite side of hotel. Quiet charming and spotless. The grounds gorgeous. The staff beautiful. Great for a romantic weekend. Will definitely stay again. The restaurant has a great wine selection and great food

« Stayed in "Shep" overnight, really nice staff and modern clean rooms »

I drove from Melbourne for a meeting and because of the distance stayed overnight. The internet was good (10 mbs) and reliable. The bathroom was modern and clean. The bed was great. I like to charge my phone overnight next to the bed, the power points were behind the bed, just a bit difficult to get to. I was really quiet in room I couldn't hear any traffic but I did hear the train at 5:30 am ( rain line more than 100m from the hotel). The breakfast was great, great coffee overlooking the lake. We had a late dinner (8:15 pm) the staff were fantastic and food really good.

« Nice rooms but snobby service »

Stayed here multiple times for work and eventually had enough of the pretentious, moody receptionist.Have moved on. Overall, the hotel rooms are new and well furbished. My preference is to stay in the upstairs rooms as they are larger, and some have nice views of the lake.It is a main road out the front though so it does get a little noisy with traffic. The regular downstairs rooms are newer than some of the other motels but still suffer from bugs which come in when the lights are on. The Manor has very plush rooms but the doors pretty thin so you'll hear your neighbours leave. Also, it's a short walk to the car park.

« Rude staff dirty room »

My wife and I booked a room paid 180 a night was placed in room no 2 of the old building, on first inspection the room looked nice and tidy but the closer you looked the worse it got their was a large Mould build up on the ceiling above bedroom window, the front of the toilet below the seat was covered in what looked like caked on poo. I noticed half a can of insect spray in the cupboard, I later found out why they had it after been in the room for 2 hrs I had 10 insect bites on my face alone. After calling the hotel reception at 1130 pm I was told they would bring up another can on insect spray to help Fum agate the room, no apology no nothing we left the hotel the same day we checked in, I have stayed in a lot of best western hotels both here and in the states and after this episode we will never stay in a best wesrern ever again

    « Shepparton overnight »

Had an overnight stay in Shepparton and chose this Motel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. We chose a renovated room, and found it to be of very good standard, lovely new bathroom, plenty of room and a comfortable bed. As the room was at the rear of the Motel we did not have any traffic noise. Do not be fooled by the "Grand" reception. The rooms behind the facade are normal motel style rooms.

    « Business Stopover »

Recently stayed at The Carrington while travelling for work. Did not pre booked but upon arrival the reception lady was very helpful and pleasant. Hotel is located across the road from the lake and has a big walking track if want a evening or morning walk. Had the option of executive or standard room. Chose the standard and was very impressed. Ground level parking outside your room which is great for any sales rep who carries stock and samples as usual requires countless trips to the car grabbing stuff through out the evening. Room was excellent, comprised a large bed and 42" LCD T.V, was spotless and bathroom was modern with excellent shower pressure. Room had a great sofa chair that was so comfy actually fell asleep in while trying to catch up on work. My only suggestion would be a more comfortable chair at your work station as the current was solid and a little sore on the back after driving all day. Had room service dinner. Do yourself a favour and make sure you eat in house as the connecting restaurant is amazing. Overall a great hotel and would recommend

    « Successful Shepparton »

Travel in the Shepparton region can provide some long days, then one can be assured of a fantastic stay here at the Carrington. This was my 5th or 6th stay here & I have never had a bad nights rest, it is a great hotel close to the centre of town. The rooms on the upper level over look the lake which provides some time to reflect on the days work while sipping on a drink from the mini bar. Beds & pillows I have always found to be very comfortable while the bathroom is well lit with a good shower. Room service menu has plenty to choose from for both Dinner & Breakfast. Will be a returning customer when next in the region.

    « Less than perfect »

Room I booked wasn't available and tried to pass off an inferior room in the manor house as an upgrade. Found Condom wrapper on floor in the room. Room had a very strong musky odor(mold?). Tried to switch rooms but was no better. Door to balcony was broken. Door into hall was of poor quality and didn't block light or sound from hall. Rooms need an uplift. Staff was pleasant but didn't appreciate being questioned by house keeping the next day about the condom wrapper found in the room and they didn't even apologies for not seeing it when cleaning. Restaurant is very overpriced for what it is. Ordered a $16 chocolate mousse which was made with nestle melts(cheap cooking chocolate). How do I know this? Well the waitress told me after I complained the the dessert tasted of cheap chocolate. Could understand why it would taste bad if the chef had used nestle melts.

« Great hotel, request quiet room »

Arrived quite late after driving through thunderstorms, to a warm welcome from the lady on reception. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped, including free WiFi. There restaurant offers breakfast but note that it is is closed on a Sunday night with no room service available either. Very comfortable bed and pillows but unfortunately, thin walls so I could hear the neighbour snoring for most of the night! Also, there is a train that runs thorough the night which would be heard from the room I was in. Friendly, efficient check out. The hotel is well located, opposite the lake and in close proximity to the town.

    « R and r »

Stall hear for some r and r and it was great becomes cit was my birthday so I had it there and we got the room was or ready made up so you had to do was just sit and watch TV and the good bit is that the kitchen is heady behind a door so you don't have to looking at it but it looks like a motel more then a hotel becomes or the rooms are on the ground so you can just walk to them

« modern and clean motel - almost 5 star. »

The hotel is modern, very clean, spacious and comfortable - a level above other Best Western Hotels. All modern amenities including fridge with mini bar, Austar cable channels on TV, pool with a sun baking area and on site parking. There is a restaurant / bar - but i did not attend so cant review. Located on the highway opposite the Lake and green zone. WiFi was available for a small cost (from memory).

Stayed 1 night in King room with spa. Great size room with all the creature comforts. We had a balcony with a view to Victoria Park Lake which was very nice. The staff were friendly and the quality of the hotel in general was very high. Great location, short walk to centre of town.
