    « Visiting family »

We were very pleased with our 2 night stay. Our room was very welcoming and clean. The staff we interacted with were all professional and kind. The breakfast area is a little on the small size but we managed just fine. We will stay here again.

    « A nice place to stay »

We have found this to be a nice place to stay. We often drive up California to the Oregon Coast, and the way we divide up the trip gives us just a couple of hours driving on the last day which suits us. Staying in Salem is so easy, and this is a good hotel. You're outside of the big city, with easy on and off access to the highway. We found it nice and quiet. There is a great indoor pool and large jacuzzi that we took full advantage of. A few laps and a nice soak makes for a good night's sleep. The included breakfast is a good one. Not outstanding, but perfectly fine with plenty of choices of hot and cold food. No microwaves in our room, no matter what the AAA guide tells you.

« good place to stay for the price »

Quality of rooms were just OK. Out dated decor and room doors were difficult to get into. Breakfast was pretty good but nothing special. The eggs and sausage were pretty rubber. For what we were here for the hotel worked out ok since we were only there to sleep in the evening.

« Good Hotel for the price »

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was clean and adequate. The breakfast was so so but you shouldn't expect much at this price point. There is a little bit of road noise so request a quiet location of possible. This is a good choice if you are passing through Salem and need good access to the I-5.

    « Excellent Choice. »

We're on the last leg of a two-week road trip. We had really figured on spending our final night on the road in Eugene. That plan ended when we learned that the Oregon Ducks had a home game today. When that happens, you can't get a hotel room from the California state line to Corvallis. So, I booked a room here, in the first hotel north of CA with rooms. And it turned out to be a great choice. Virginia, the desk clerk, could not have been nicer or more helpful. We had a lovely chat while I was getting us checked in. When I went back outside to park the truck, I realized that I was gonna have to park as far away as possible and still stay on the property. The place is packed. Well, I didn't wanna walk that far with our stuff. So I went back in, told Virginia about my "problem:, and wham-bam! I had a different room that I could actually park in front of. The room itself (221) is very nice. Spotlessly clean and everything works. The chairs by the table could be more comfortable, but that's a fairly minor issue. The vanity area of the bathroom is huge! My wife was tickled silly. Dunno what the last reviewer's problem was, but I can guess. My sister's the same way. Should we happen to stay in Salem again, this will be my first choice.

« Unprofessional Hotel Staff - Unreliable Booking Process - Lots of Unnecessary Static »

Booked on hours before arriving. Upon arrival was greeted (if that is what you'd like to call it) by Virginia. She said you're not here to check in because I have no reservations available and you are not in my system. On top of that she said I turned off the on line booking system hours ago so there is no way you have a reservation. Well yes I do have a reservation. WITH WHO? I am looking at my EXPANDED system and you are not in it! Where is your confirmation? After going out to my email to get a confirmation number, and returning with a booking confirmation, she suddenly announced she had found my reservation. Instead of apologizing for telling me I had no reservation, she then proceeded to tell me although she did find my reservation, but it was not legitimate, but it didn't matter anyway because she had no rooms. She interrupted every time I attempted to ask a question - this is an incredibly rude and unprofessional. HOLD YOUR TOUNGE FOR PETE'S SAKE - this is not a rodeo! Save that for your husband and kids. You are a customer service professional. You provide overnight accommodations for people attending an out of town funeral, or visiting their sister, or traveling after a long day of business. These people are displaced from their homes and in need of a reliable, clean, safe and comfortable place to stay. They expect and depend upon a smile and an accommodating tone in your voice. If a problem comes up, you don't raise a battle flag, you make problems go away. When I asked Virginia if she could possibly just smile and let me finish a question without interruption, she interrupted to tell me now nice she was already being. When I asked if we could skip the problem highlighting phase and simply move forward to the point where she finds us another room at the same price, Virginia arrogantly insisted she had been working this job for over two weeks and she knew what to do. She called the owner and told her twice she had a very disgruntled customer (twice Virginia? really? NOT! I would just like the two rooms I booked). The owner told her to simply take care of it. Right. Unbelievably stupid to put someone like this in a role like front desk clerk. In 30- years of owning and managing hotels, I have never seen attitude more wrong minded. Virginia obviously has no customer relations skills whatsoever. Maybe a role in the operations or housekeeping department might suit her better. Bought her entire staff a negative review. Ruined any chance of a pleasant night or stay at the facility, (OR A RETURN VISIT). Who cares about the location, price or quality of the accommodation when the front desk clerk is such a witch? On a bright note we were finally referred to a sister property a few miles away. When we arrived we were treated very well by the very professional staff there, (that evening and the next morning) who made us feel welcome. Thanks!

« An affordable, comfortable hotel, even for vegans »

We stayed in the Best Wester Pacific Highway Inn in Salem for only one night in September 2016. It had everything we needed, including a reasonable price, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We particularly appreciated the vegan options for breakfast. It was the first time my husband was offered non-dairy milk for his cereal at a hotel!

« Quiet comfort in Salem »

Stayed two nights at the Pacific Highway Inn on a busy weekend when they were full. We came in late on Friday and check in was quick so we could get to our room and to sleep. Breakfast was good and the bed, bathroom, parking, etc. all was fine. Didn't spend a lot of time in the room but it provided just what we wanted, a clean, quiet, comfortable home away from home on our visit.

    « Reliable »

I have always enjoyed my stays at Best Western hotels. They always have nice clean rooms, fairly updated decor, and a good continental breakfast. This indoor pool and spa was awesome. Really big. The hotel was right off of the freeway which is great when traveling. My only qualm is that the curtains weren't as thick as I am used to staying in hotels and I wish I would have brought a sleeping mask to block out the parking lot lights. Other than that, I was very satisfied with my stay.

« Not Great - concerning customer service »

We were down on a quick family overnighter. We were visiting Enchanted Forest. We called on our way down and asked if we could check in early. The woman who answered the phone instantly started complaining, "well, I don't know yet. It's just now check out time. You will need to call back in a couple of hours." Wow - no, can I get your name? I'm sorry I don't know yet. Not a great first impression. We just changed gears and planned to check in at regular time. The room was okay - definitely ready for an update. There was food left from the prior guests. The person at the front desk was very kind and apologetic about that and offered to move us. We likely won't be back.

    « On the fence... »

Had to come to Oregon on family business, from California. Idk where to start... The room itself was nice. 2 queen beds, TONS of pillows, mini-mini fridge, microwave, tv, bathroom, shower/tub... you know, your basic room. We stayed 2 nights. The 1st night was ok, my bed seemed to be fine, but apparently the other bed was "like sleeping on plywood" (I didn't notice a difference). In the morning we could hear the upstairs people walking around and taking showers. Breakfast was good! Lots of verity!! Doughnuts, biscuits and gravy, sausage, coffee (yummy creamers), English muffins, eggs, cereal... The 2nd night I was woken up @ 3am by my neighbors dog chewing on a squeekie toy!! I finally had to have the front desk step in and call their room. We were a split room, and could hear everything that was going on in that room!!! We could also hear all the road noise too... our room was near the road so a room near the back may be more quiet. Overall... I say it's a good stay. Just get a room in the back, ask for a non split room and make sure u have earplugs and a shot of zzzzz quil to help u sleep.

    « Salem trip »

When we entered our room ti smelled like a dog had been there. The male desk clerk said it was normal for the rooms to smell because it was an old building. I stayed in the same motel a year ago and I can tell you it never smelled like a dog!

« Great place to stay! »

Very quiet. No freeway or road noise. Nice area. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff friendly and professional. Ample size breakfast area with additional seating outside. Good selection of breakfast items. Easy parking access to lower level rooms. We also have stayed at the Best Western Plus in Salem and found we liked this one even better and at a lower price!.

    « Super Pool! »

This property consists of a two-story, u-shaped area of rooms surrounding a large building that has a beautiful inside pool and inviting area for breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, and we didn't mind walking across the parking area to breakfast because the weather was great. However, this might be problematic on a bad weather day. The shampoo came from a dispenser on the tub's wall. We paid $116.33, which included tax. The breakfast was average, but I had never seen an automatic pancake maker before. It's really fun to try it. The pancakes aren't quite as good as the waffles you usually see at these breakfasts, but still pretty good. You'd be pleased to stay here.

« Don't expect much from the breakfast »

Stayed the night of 5-6 Sept. On 6 sept at 8am I went to the breakfast room to find there was no coffee. Nobody was in attendance, and when I called out a hello at the reception desk, receptionist "Nicole" dashed out of the backroom - making a rather snide comment of being "on a business call" when asking for coffee, 3 out of 4 pots were empty and that 4th one was hidden in the back row. Said she was "making coffee". The pancakes coming out of a machine resemble rubbery headgaskets (as my husband called them), and there was no orange juice, no forks, no egg patties to make egg mcmuffin (was told to eat a hardboiled egg, followed by a stern education about their supplies being based on the number of guests expected, and it would 8 minutes - 15 minutes later still none), I took the last English muffin but lots of bagels left, no variety of jams - just raspberry. It seems nobody is paying attention to stock up. But the parking lot was full - and 8am is still a busy time for travelers to eat. There were other guests complaining about the breakfast quality and the lack of supplies. There is not one person in charge of just taking care of such tasks. We've never encountered such a lack of attention to breakfast supplies - not in a BW - nor any other hotel domestically or a abroad over the course of 40 years of extensive traveling. Bottom line - forfeit this one and go across the street to the Pancake House. On a positive note, the receptionist on Labor Day, Laurie, was excellent and very helpful. She recommended a restaurant with outdoor seating and called to make sure they allow dogs outside. She also found a couple of parks to walk our dog, especially the State Capitol - which by itself is an architectural, modern marvel? after being rebuilt after the 1930's fire. She printed out a map and addresses so we could easily let our GPS find everything. If it weren't for her, I'd have given this BW 1 Star for service! Salem is a very nice, clean city. Other than that the rooms are large, bed is comfy, but the pillows are overstuffed and hard. If traveling with a dog - the grassy area is about 20x20 feet - good for a Chihuahua. Since most BW's are pet-friendly, if would be nice if they offered a larger, maybe fenced in area for their 4-legged guests. We would not stay there again.

    « Not Recommended »

I was booked here for 2 nights for work. When I checked in, they were doing construction and had to move me to a room I did not reserve (to 2 doubles vs 1 King). The front desk lady said to check the next day to see if we could be moved to another room - which was totally understandable. The next morning, the rude front desk lady said she could not assign us to another room since she somehow "won't know what rooms will be open" and to call at noon to check. So... we called at noon and was told "sorry, housekeeping already left, so you can't switch" then went on to tell us she she could set us up in a different room - but we would be charged for 2 rooms that night. So of course we opted to stay in a room that we didn't even reserve. Besides that issue, the rooms are pretty outdated. The shower sprayed water all over the ground, the plug ins didn't work well, the lighting is horrible, and the TV remote didn't work. On the upside, the sheets were clean and it was pretty quiet to at least sleep through the night. The AC works very well, to the point of freezing to death if you set it right. I think I would have rated it higher if the front desk was nicer or better to work with (rather than giving us the run around every couple hours). Due to that, it was just an irritating stay - which I would not recommend to others.

« Be careful when showering! »

The hotel was easy to find off I-5. I had room 107. It was clean and roomy. My complaint is about the shower. I had asked for a Handicapped room as they usually have a shower with a wand. I wasn't given that type of room. The shower head was stationery with no flexibility and placed rather high on the wall. When I turned it on, the spray hit the wall and ricocheted out the shower curtain onto the floor creating a mess. When I got the shower curtain (which was on the skimpy side)rearranged, I realized I would need a shower cap or my recently styled hairdo would be ruined. I didn't have one with me, so I had to improvise using the laundy bag. If a hotel has such a user unfriendly shower head, the least they can do is provide a shower cap on the counter of the sink. Even if they had them at the front desk, I would hate to have to get dressed again just to go and get one. The breakfast was adequate and the jacuzzi was enjoyable.

    « I would stay here again :-) »

Great value. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Several healthy breakfast options. Convenient to the highway. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the area :-)

« Good place if you travel with no kids »

Nice place to stay a night, but you have to walk across the parking lot to a reception desk and swimming pool. Not a good thing to stay there with kids since you have to cross the parking lot to get to a swimming pool. No shower rooms in swimming pool area.

« Good location and great value »

We typically stay in Best Westerns on our vacations and this one was obviously an older property as the room was a bit rough and had issues getting the key card to work in the door properly. But it was ok for the one night on our way through town. The room was clean and the staff was we'd stay here again if in the area.

« Excellent value for money. »

Room clean and recently decorated, decor a little dark, but no more so than most motel rooms, there were plenty of working lamps. Bed very comfy and good bedding. Shower worked well and there were plenty of good towels. AC was ineffective, but could have been operator error! I We were tired and just didn't mess with it much. We asked to stay on top the floor to avoid guest walking noise from rooms above. Not troubled by noise, other guest were very pleasant. Booking staff, receptionist, maids and breakfast lady very friendly and helpful. Did not use Wi-Fi., but believe it was available Breakfast advertised as continental. As a British customer I was expecting a doughnut and coffee. There was much more, biscuits & gravy, egg pattie and sausage pattie, a pancake machine and all the other usual cold options. Well presented, well stocked and clean eating area. They sold themselves short here! Enjoyed our stay, would stay again and recommend to others.

« Perfect Night During the State Fair Visit »

Fortunately, we planned to stay at that motel overnight and the local magazine advertised that state fair was located nearby at the moment. We drove down there for several hours sightseeing the fair at the perfect timing as the weather was cooperating perfectly. One flaw we would like to mention is that the bathroom decor needs to be updated, but we enjoyed every moment of staying at the motel in a good environment.

    « Excellent Value »

The hotel staff is extremely helpful. The hotel is clean, rooms are good size, the bath and toilet area are smaller, it was quiet and I felt very safe. There are many restaurants and shopping areas close by to choose from as well.

    « Good Trip »

Good place to meet up with family. Lobby is clean and attractive. Motel is not too big. My brother and I had rooms close to each other. Enjoyed breakfast. Good coffee. Eggs were good, but sausage was not heated enough.

« Good Choice to Spend Night »

Called late in the evening. Room was available. Price wasn't bad. Check-in was quick and easy. Room smelled musty, Needed some airing out. Mattress was lumpy and old. Otherwise everything was fine. Hotel was close to all necessary services. Area was quiet.

    « Way Over Rated »

It is a Best Western but should have really been a Motel 6 ! The property is basically a Motor Inn, drive in to your room, small rooms dark Room and Outdated. OK for One night but definitely not more, The room felt more like a dungeon than a Best Western hotel, but maybe my expectations of a Best western are much higher. Breakfast but OK, with friendly staff. Overall not a 2 Star property.

    « A better Salem hotel »

Right off the freeway without the high traffic noise. The staff was very friendly. There are restaurants close by. Everything in the room worked fine. IMO there are not a lot of high quality hotels in the immediate area and this is one of them.

    « Should be a BW Plus... »

Situated only 2 minutes from the I-5, quite close to ddowntown and scrupulously clean this property met all needs. Very comfortable room, engaging reception staff, good breakfast (I had never seen the one minute making pancake machine before) and nice property layout. I am surprised that this property is not in the BW Plus category.

    « Average »

Located close to I-5. Check in and check out was friendly. Room had a strong chemical smell but seemed clean. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Breakfast choices- fewer than most BW but very adequate. Nothing real positive or negative here. Solidly average.

    « ALways stop here--high quality service »

My wife and I travel through or visit town at least once a year and always stop here. We have never experienced serious problems and the staff has always been able to accommodate our request for a ground floor room--even during State Fair time. I plan to stay here again and have recommended to my son and his family.

    « Exceeded expectations! »

Doing a fly drive and this was prebooked early on and was the cheapest and lowest star rated hotel of the trip so I was a little worried. But the staff were friendly, fast and helpful, the room was an upstairs motel room with good air con, comfy beds and I slept really well. Breakfast was also included and had a good selection. Very happy and will make sure I use Best Western more in the future.

    « Close to I-5 »

Typical Best Western. Nice accommodation but rooms near I-5 hear the noise. Room dark then we realized they had painted the ceilings a dark Brown. Made the room seem dingy. Recently remodeled but the toilets are very low and difficult to use. Beds are nice but we thought they were a little too high off the ground.

    « Stress Free Stay »

The staff at reception are awesome!!!! I made an unconscious mistake of reserving only 2 nights when I thought I reserved 3 nights. Nicole called me while I was hiking and out of cell phone range, however, she went a head and reserved another night for us. We are so thankful to her. Sometimes us seniors make these kinds of mistakes. Rest assure we will recommend your hotel to others. Thank you for all you did for us to make our stay stress free.

    « Good Value »

We needed two adjoining rooms and a very late night arrival. We had four adults and 4 children with easy access to the rooms. The hotel staff was very accommodating and when we arrived, everything was in perfect order. We had decent rooms for a fair price and a good breakfast. Everyone left happy.

« An OK Place for the night »

Stayed there twice in the last week, once on our way to Mt. Rainier ans once on the return trip. Both times we found the rooms to be clean, spacious and attractive. The micro and fridge worked well and the bed were comfortable. The continental breakfast was good, similar to most places in that price range. The staff is very and courteous. On the first trip our room was in the back building, away from the street and it was very quiet. the second time we we in the building opposite the office. It's closer to the street and the street noise periodically bothered us during the night. Request a room in the back building. The downside of this Best Western is that that rooms are not dark enough during the night. The curtains are translucent, allowing light to penetrate. Also room's night light is very bright and cannot be turned off or unplugged.

« Last Minute Choice - Great Experience »

My wife and I always stay at Best Western properties where available so when we needed a rest point on our return trip from Seattle area to home we checked the Best Western website for a convenient stopping off point. While we would have preferred a location closer to Crater Lake National Park, we were very pleasantly surprised to find this hotel as an alternative. Close to I-5 in North Salem Oregon, Pacific Highway Inn is convenient for those traveling either direction. Clean, well-appointed rooms, attractive grounds, and SUPER friendly staff made our short visit very pleasant. Would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel to friends and family; would definitely use it again when traveling in that area.

    « Good Staff »

The Salem BW was good. The staff inparticular, is VERY accommodating. The evening we were there they had a full house. We were given a room that was nice, except for the fact that the sink was broken. They sent in a handyman that was very good.

« Cheap and noisy hotel »

Right next to the highway I was stuck in 101 which was very loud. Followed by workers directly outside my room in the morning beeping on their equipment to fix a light that must have had to been fixed immediately first thing when there was natural light. Kind of throw back decor, you get what you pay for I guess. I will not stay here again although if I did I would request away from the highway and on the 2nd floor.

« Great find - fairly priced well-maintained and upgraded »

We have previously stayed at a Best Western about 4 miles away but this time its rates (July) were quite high, so we booked through BW's central booking system and they suggested the Pacific Highway Inn. It is about a quarter mile off the freeway, and on arrival it gave an excellent impression. There were flower beds at the entrance and the buildings looked relatively freshly painted. It is a standard design hotel with several two storey buildings each with outside walkways servicing the rooms. The lobby was spacious and attractively furnished with plenty of comfortable chairs. The breakfast room is a good size and there are even tables and upholstered chairs along the edge of the lobby if one doesn't want to listen to morning television. There is also an outside patio with tables and chairs. We selected an upstairs room to avoid any footsteps above, and it was well furnished, even having two comfortable chairs and a side table for us to enjoy our evening wine at. There was no road noise overnight, but the air conditioner is an old one with fan settings mounted on the machine itself, which is up near the ceiling of the bathroom area. It proved to be noisy even on the low fan setting, but on speaking to the very pleasant desk staff in the morning, we learned that this is one of the remaining upgrade items on their to-do list. Breakfast was a continental one but with everything that we needed. The price for the hotel was most reasonable at $89, almost half of what the other BW was charging. Overall, this has been a very good find ? a clean, well-kept and convenient hotel at a most reasonable price and with friendly staff. We will be back.

    « BW Pascific Hwy -- Salem »

This is a very clean, well-maintained property. Good location just off I-%, but far enough away that no traffic noise. While a bit older in construction, as mentioned it is very well maintained and clean. Housekeeping and maintenance constantly keeping property clean and attractive. Unit we stayed in quiet and comfortable; breakfast quite nice. We've been here before and were not disappointed this time. Will return when need arises.

    « Clean and Comfortable »

Good Value for the area. Clean grounds, clean rooms. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, but not many choices compared to other places. In an industrial area so is fairly quiet at night. Staff very friendly and helpful.

« Surprised this is rated as high as it is »

Nothing too exceptional. Ok for a stop over but will try something else next time. It was very quiet. In the evening to stretch my legs I walked around the block to a quiet modest residential area. Nice breakfast touch with the cranberries and coconut for the oatmeal.

    « Beautiful flowers »

The hotel was nice enough, room was modest but the internet stinks. That's two night in a row. Bed was comfy but the pillows were not my type. Shower head is fix and doesn't move, but the water was hot??Breakfast was good but limited. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has several verities of flower around the hotel that make it feel very warm and friendly

    « Good price »

We stayed because the price was right. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. But wow was I grateful for the windows that opened with screens. Otherwise the smell of the cleaning fluid they use would have been very difficult for me. I am not a fan of industrial strength smelling cleaning products, especially if the room cannot be aired out. So beware if that bothers you.

    « Nice family place »

Looks like a motel style layout, but well maintained, clean and comfortable. Check in is smooth, with check in parking. Pool and hot tub are sparkling clean and they furnish pool towels too. Bathroom is small, but nice and clean. Room has air conditioning and heat, beds were firm, but in the morning, no sore spots on the older body. Nice bedding on the beds and a little table, two chairs and desk and chair. Microwave and refrig, plus good lighting for reading or work. Good value here and right across the street from the Original Pancake house, one of our favorites. Grandson is sleeping well, having used up all his car energy in the pool. Nice breakfast with a championship pancake machine to fill the little one. We'll stay here again.

    « OK for a stopover »

Kind of on the low end of BW standard. Air-con shut down in the middle of the night. Attendant came to look over and had no clue. More like controlled by timer than thermostat. Rooms just ok clean. Only upside is the hot breakfast. Not value for money. Will not go back again.

It is always nice to be surprised in a pleasant way. This Best Western is neat, clean, with very friendly employees. Room was large, comfortable bed, GREAT breakfast with a superior host. Location is just off I-5, with a turnaround necessary if you area going South. NOTE: This is not a "four star" hotel with a bunch of amenities, just four star with service, room, bed, and the staff. Give it a try!!!

« Very convenient for a Sunday night layover for early Monday morning Business meeting »

Convenient to I-5. Minutes from down town. Room had all the basics. Was clean.. Carpet was showing its wear. Staff was very friendly. Had a computer and printer in lobby, Free wi-fi. pool and spa. Out-door parking and room access, Be security aware. We had no problems. Recommend this hotel for short stays. I will stay here again if in the area. Fit my needs very well. Price a bit high for the room but was made up for by the convenience of location,

    « Very good experience »

This BW has well laid out rooms, is clean and well kept. The breakfast includes eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, breads, pancakes, yogurt and juices. Good selection. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. I'd stay again if I was in the area.

« Ok for a night or two »

For one night in transit to the south or north, the BW hotel is quite OK. The rooms are equipped with everything that one needs. It has an indoor pool (did not use it though) and a free breakfast is served. The hotel's location is very good, right near the highway entrance to Portland/Seattle. For restaurants, a car is needed as there are no proper places to eat within walking distance. The staff is very friendly.

    « short notice stay »

I have stayed here before and this time was no exception as to quality for price. Room was clean and everything worked. The rooms are quite quiet as for room to room noise. Good TV reception and Wi-Fi was adequate for my needs. Breakfast was well presented and kept full and tables were clean and bussed as they emptied. The rooms I have had the road noise in very low.

« OK for a stop over hotel »

Originally wanted a Queen room but it wasn't available the day we wanted so we had to pay the extra $20 for a King. All the rooms are accessed from the outside so security may be a concern. Room was a little noisy right next to the road and the room next door you can hear the TV. Location was great, right off I-5, staff was friendly, lobby was clean, they have a pool and hot tub but did not have the chance to use them. The room did smell a little like a doctors office, the bed was comfortable, bathroom clean but the carpet could use a good cleaning. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, donuts, biscuits and gravy and good coffee. Because of the higher price, probably won't stay here again.

    « Breakfast was awful »

Good rates. Clean rooms. The afternoon desk clerk was really nice and friendly. But the breakfast was greatly disappointing. The pancakes from the machine were chewy like they were stale. Had to ask for silverware, had to ask to have the table wiped down, and at 7:30 in the morning had to ask for eggs and sausage since whatever they had up was gone already. Been waiting for the food now for 10 minutes. Maybe they should pay attention to what the breakfast area is doing.

    « Perfect family getaway »

We had a wonderful time on our recent visit. When we first arrived, I was worried because the doors are on the outside of the hotel, but the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and we felt welcome right away. Our kids loved the pool and we enjoyed watching them play. The free breakfast in the morning was good and gave us the start we needed. This hotel isn't fancy, but it suited our needs very well. We will happily stay here next time we visit Salem.

« Nice place great service »

I stayed here two nights when attending a wedding. It is on a busy street, but the rooms were quiet - not only did I hear no street noise, but I didn't even hear neighbors and the place was sold out both nights. There is a really great breakfast that serves pancakes, bagels, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt and many other great things and they serve from 6am-10am, which is great because it was not too crowded as people had plenty of time to drop in. There was an indoor heated pool and spa, which was clean and well maintained. It is a motel, not a hotel, but I felt safe and the place was well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Affordable, clean, safe »

Nice place. Excellent value for the money. Nothing in walking distance, but less than 2 miles to shopping and restaurants. Room seemed newly remodeled. Everyone pleasant and helpful. Will probably be my usual place to stay now if I'm in the area.

    « Convenient »

Love the location for our visit. We were attending the Fair Grounds for the week-end. Location was close and easy to get to our location. The motel and lobby area were a welcoming site. The location was quiet and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We appreciated the clean rooms and comfortable beds. Would stay there again.

    « Noisy needs work »

I spent one fairly sleepless night here. The room is old for the price. The highway noise kept me awake all night. There is also a small window in the bathroom that keeps the room light all night even with the door closed. Staff weren't particularly friendly but not rude. Would not stay again.

« Not as scary as I thought »

Someone else made this reservation. When we rolled up on this place I was like oh no. I have not stayed in place with doors open to parking lot in quite some time. It turned out better than it looked. My only real complaint was the miniature ironing board.

« BEST Best Western I Have Stayed On My Trip! »

We had a very pleasant stay at this motel. The property is well maintained with attractive landscaping. Our room was quiet and clean. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in a good looking lobby/breakfast area. WIFi reception was excellent. Our only regret is that we did not plan to visit Salem longer. We would definitely stay here again.

« Good Hotel Great Location »

Good hotel. Free parking. Just outside of Salem downtown. By the highway. Great breakfast. Good rooms. They a pool. 45 mins away from Silver Falls State Park. It is a must see. By a few other attractions.

« Attractive, reasonably priced hotel for the area »

This place looks nice on the outside, particularly on the outside, and the price was significantly cheaper than other hotels in the Salem area. The rooms are a bit outdated, particularly the climate control system. There was an ancient thermostat in the room plus a switch Heat and Cool. There were no directions on how to operate it. Nevertheless, the room was very adequate and clean, the bathroom fixtures all worked well, and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.

« Good option if you're passing through »

We chose this hotel for the easy access from from the I-5. This was a short stop en route to California. Arrived very late after being on the highway a number of hours. There were 3 travelers in a row that arrived around the same time. The front desk was efficient and checked us in quickly. If you're just here for a sleep, the hotel is a good option. The room was large, and the beds fairly comfortable. We did not require the shower, and I'm thankful we didn't need it. The bathtub wasn't the cleanest, as you can see in the attached photo. In addition to the hair, there was black residue in the base of the tub. Almost like it hadn't drained well. The rest of the bathroom was clean. The ladies taking care of the front desk and breakfast room were very friendly. Breakfast was good, with a variety of the usual continental breakfast options. Overall, I wouldn't rate this motel badly. I hope the lack in housekeeping in our bathroom was just an anomaly. I would stay here again if a quick stop was needed when traveling the I-5.

« Just ok compared to other BW's »

I was highly disappointed when my special request for a first floor room was not honored even though I had a guaranteed reservation. I have a service dog and it's difficult to carry all our bags with a bad back up a flight of stairs. However,I wanted to stay at a BW so I reluctantly accepted the 2nd floor room that was available. Unfortunately once I got into the room and realized how hard it would be to take the stairs several times during our overnite, I chose to check out and go to another hotel. When I went to the front desk to get a refund the clerk miraculously found a first floor room for me! I'm very disappointed and now reluctant to stay at BW knowing they do not honor special requests when there is availability. Also, carpets need to be cleaned. My dog was uncharacteristically interested in the embedded smells.

    « quick trip »

Older hotel, well repaired and has been updated and or remodeled not to long ago. Clean, fresh paint, new tile in bathroom, furniture in excellent condition, adequate seating and work space. I was a little skeptical at the location but is was quiet in reference to street noise and next room was not easily heard, water ritual did not exist. Breakfast was a little short as some (unknown if attended or not) wiped out pastries completely, sausage and biscuits were quite good, fruit and yogurt were avail, lacking in eggs(they had hard boiled) and meat(none) other normal items were fresh and filled. I would stay again.

« Nice Motel in North Salem »

Nice motel located in north Salem close to I-5. This is an older Best Western that has been maintained well. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. With easy access to down town, the Lancaster area or Keizer this is a perfect place to stay when on business or visiting the area.

    « stay at hotel »

the service provided by the desk clerk when we checked in, was very friendly and very helpful given the fact that it was so late at night around midnight. The room was very clean. the bed was very comfortable. slept very well. Had a good night sleep. We got up early the next morning and the desk clerk on duty was very courteous and friendly.

    « High Review »

This is a very nice hotel. Friendly greeting staff and eager to help with questions. Such as good local resteraunts and places to tour and visit. Bed is comfortable, room very clean and a very nice morning breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

    « Clean, Friendly, Helpful »

The room was spacious and kept cleaned. We were there for 4 days and nights. The staff was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast had a large variety of hot and cold items. Checking in and out was simple. It is located near many attractions in the Salem area. It was quiet at night. I would stay there again.

« Standard road-side hotel, perfect for travelers passing through »

The Pacific Highway Inn is a very standard, on-brand Best Western that met all of my needs during my one-night stay. I thought the front desk staff was nice and reasonably helpful with issues. Rooms were clean and adequately furnished, although the room I stayed in (2 Queens) definitely wasn't the most comfortable bed I've had. That didn't stand in the way of a good night's sleep though :) I particularly thought that this hotel was a nice value - I feel like I got what I paid for. The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard, but I've never seen an automatic pancake machine like they had and I was really impressed. Not even bad pancakes either! I will add that the location of the hotel was a little further from downtown Salem than I had realized - I ended up getting a taxi into the downtown area for dinner, which I hadn't expected needing.

    « Good Value »

The room and property were clean and comfortable. We stayed for a graduation in Salem and the location was ideal. The hotel is on a busy road so we asked for a room farther back on the property and they gave us a room that was more quiet with no issues. The cleaning staff was courteous and the rooms were clean. The internet was weak but workable.

    « Simple yet satisfying »

Room is normal, yet clean and simple. Everything was clean and tidy. Reception area is very big and nice. Ground infront of motel rooms is actually carpet, which was odd, but it helps to muffle sound of walking or rolling luggage which is very nice. Almost no sound from outside of the room and every room was full when I stayed. There is a subway about 50 yards away from the parking lot that is open 24 hours. A gas station beyond that. Plenty of places within walking distance to get snacks, drinks, etc. Wifi reception was suprisingly good, despite having hotel completely booked. Better than some hotels I've stayed at that were 2x the price. Only complaint is that the parking lot doesn't have many places available to park right outside of your room. If you arrive late, you're likely going to have to park on the opposite side of the lot.

    « Great experience »

From the moment we arrived till we left the staff where great, anytime we needed something that wasn't provided in the room they gave us freely at the front desk. The room and other facilities are clean and kept up. The breakfast was good considering it was continental (you know how those usually are) can't complain. Over all I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Motel Friendly »

We have been gathering as a family at this motel for different events (reunions, weddings, funerals) for over 30 years and are never disappointed. Comfortable beds, updated rooms, friendly staff and service. I would recommend this motel for any travel, business or pleasure.

« Still a best value, except when hot »

I raved about this place in a review about ten years ago, and it still rates very high. You still enjoy nice touches like real glass cups and stoneware mugs (no paper throwaways), a huge indoor pool, good breakfast, big fluffy towels, and furniture and carpets that are a cut above what's the norm for under-$100 rooms. I had no quibbles with my earlier stay in winter, but on this record-hot April day I needed the AC. The older unit was a bit noisy, and the rear location in the bathroom sink area made the circulation poor into the main room. Heat is separate no-noise radiating.

    « Disappointing property »

Recently stayed at this property, which is near the freeway. The staff told us the hotel is undergoing renovations. The room was noisy, and requires some assistance from maintenance to address non draining tub and sink, flickering lights above the sink, and a non working phone. The pool was closed for repair the day of our visit. The breakfast items were average, and the pancake machine should be removed. The lobby are is lovely, yet the areas walking to the guest rooms require some housekeeping assistance. We would not recommend this property if staying in Salem.

« Clean, convenient, but not quiet »

This is the hotel we always stay at when visiting family in Salem. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. The rooms are ALWAYS clean. And the price is reasonable. We try and book a handicap accessible room each time but this is the first time they actually had one available. The room was AWESOME and we even had space to park our mobility scooter inside without rearranging the furniture. The only problem was that this room was the closest one to the road. The road is a VERY busy one and we could hear road noises all night. The continental breakfast is excellent! There is something for everyone because of the variety of foods served. The staff even came over to offer me assistance during breakfast because it was obvious I had a severe headache. You can't go wrong when choosing to stay here. They even allow pets for a modest fee.

« Just right for the traveller »

This hotel is located within 3 minutes of Interstate 5 but there is no traffic noise within the rooms. The quality is reasonable and certainly value for money. The room was clean, in good repair and contained all the basics. Breakfast was a bit basic but there was sufficient choice and it was adequate quality.

1st room they put us in was not even an option. GAG! Second room was better but still horrid. Smelled bad even when we sprayed the febreeze we went out to buy. Front desk person told us all rooms smelled the same! Toilet seat moved when you sat on it. Several hairs in the tub. Bathroo ran for a bit then shut down. JUST PLAIN ICKY! When we complained to the front desk girl she just shrugged us off. When checking out we complained again to a different gal..her response was..WE ARE STARTING OUR REMODEL. We couldn't go elsewhere as we had a funeral to attend and family to meet.

« Better value somewhere else »

For the money you should stay at the other BW in town or at a different hotel chain. The room was clean, but the furniture is older and in some disrepair (bent table leg, tissue front plate falling off, uncomfortable bed, carpet showing a good amount of wear). The only thing that looked newer was the bathroom countertop. It's not a bad hotel, but considering the price it is not worth it. It was a half step above Motel 6 which I've stayed at many many times as well in that it has breakfast and internet included. It did have TV, a super mini fridge, hairdryer, a desk, and a table with two more chairs. I don't recall if it had a microwave. I have stayed at BW around Oregon and Washington and recently 10 times on a cross country trip over the last 2 weeks and this was the worst one. I was paying $95-$115 for much nicer rooms and amenities. I paid $95 for this one.

    « Good Stay »

I always choose BW hotels when travelling. My expectations of comfortable beds, clean, and friendly courteous staff was met once again at this hotel. Best Western is my main stay. Will stay again if travelling this way.

« Great place to stay »

Everybody from when I made the reservation, to when we checked in, to the maintenance man, to the housekeeping staff were friendly and polite. We are light sleepers, so I'd asked for a quiet room, and it was. The price was cheaper than other Best Western Hotels in the Salem area, it was fine.

    « Zane and Mommy »

My son loves the pool! Perfect place for us! The continental breakfast has an excellent variety ranging from biscuits and gravy to fruit, donuts, eggs, and great coffee. I stay there over anywhere in Salem. Clean rooms cozy bed and great on low noise.

    « Sadly, going downhill »

As a Gold Rewards member, I've been to my share of Best Western facilities. I have to say that, up until this last visit, this hotel was meeting my needs just fine. Sadly, this last visit I had to admit it is going downhill. Lighting in the rooms leaves something to be desired. They're pretty dim. The last room I was in on 02/10/2016 had a tattered rug with threads stretched out from the tears. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best, even after requesting a room with good reception due to the need to do some on-line work. I have tried to stay loyal to the Best Western brand whenever I travel, but I will probably be removing this one from my list. Sad, because the staff are VERY friendly and nice people.

    « Good Location »

This motel is located in the Northeast part of Salem where there are several shopping centers and restaurants, some within walking distance others just a short drive to them. Plus the Fairgrounds is only a few blocks away.

    « Would stay again »

We stayed one night and found it perfectly fine. The rooms are spacious, the beds very comfortable, linens were fine (tho the towels are a little on the short side - but thick enough). It was very quiet - no freeway noise, no traffic noise of any kind - and the staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was just OK, but I'm kind of picky about my food. If you just need a clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay as you're traveling through the area, I would definitely recommend this Best Western.

    « A good stay »

Upon arrival I had some issues with the billing, but the friendly staff helped me out and corrected the mistake. It was a very nice place especially the pool and hot tub area. I did have a few issues with the tv, remote having to replace it twice, besides that a very nice stay.

    « Nice »

Booked two nights for two people. Our room was very clean, there were plenty of pillows, towels And coffee. The beds were really comfortable, The staff was polite & professional. wish I had brought swim trunks, the pool looked nice. I would gladly stay there again.

    « Nightly Stay »

Staff was friendly however the Hotel is in dire need of being updated, many other options in the local area that offer newer facilities. Breakfast was good, many options. Hotel was just off the freeway, however, there were many others, much newer, would not recoomend staying here, did not think the nightly rate equaled the condition of the hotel and mainly the rooms. Hotel is in need of being updating to compete with the other local hotels

    « Great stay tue b.w. »

We had a wonderful stay and we booked 2 more nights in April once again very nice and clean. Breakfast was very good Cant for wait April. We had a bad stop a motel down the road got my refund and went to b.w. it was worth the extra money for a peace of mind we slept with both eyes closed not worrying if the vehicle would get broken into there . once again glad best western was just a mile down the road

    « Best yet »

Loved this place very rarely you can say this was a perfect place. Everything was very well kept. The staff were very courteous and attentive. The establishment went out of its way to accommodate the wins of guests. Pool hours were extended great for early swimmers. Rooms had baseboard heat which means a nice quiet sleep even a nightlite near bathroom door. Rooms clean clean clean a real joy to stay will return again. Breakfast well done also

    « Convenient »

Clean rooms, very comfortable bed, good breakfast included. Very convenient location in north Salem yet easy to get to main areas such as the Lancaster Mall. Easy to get to Keizer Station also. Would stay again.

    « Lovely Little Spot »

Super friendly. Super clean. Great location. The rooms are baseboard heating but work very quickly and efficiently! The bathrooms are super small but nice tub/shower size however the entryway to the bathroom is spacious and really pretty. Beds are comfortable as well as the pillows and they supply a good amount. There's also a little fridge and microwave which is an awesome bonus. A crib can be requested if you find yourself in need of one. I'm not disappointed at all!

« Impossible to rate this over average »

I am amazed that there should be any reviews above 3 stars for this motel. It does not go below average because there is nothing inherently bad or disgusting about it. We did not feel like we had to try to get out of the motel and find a better one. It was clean. So, it is a serviceable and functional motel. But it is very old and has not been updated in perhaps 20 years. When your 11 year old son's first words are, "Wow, this is a really old motel," then you know it is old, because this is a fairly undiscerning person saying this. When we first got in, the room was freezing cold because no heat was running. Because the rooms have only electric baseboard heating, which takes a long time to heat up a room, we had to go to the pool while it was doing its job. When we got back about an hour and a half later, the room was finally warm. The pool was in great condition and kept at a comfortable temperature. We enjoyed the pool very much. The spa was hot and running, but for no discernible reason there was a sign saying that it was closed. We just took off the plastic cover and used it anyway. It worked fine. Even though there were only about 8 rooms occupied that night, the clerk somehow thought it was best to cluster everybody next to each other. I understand that this makes it easier for the housekeeping staff the next morning, but at least separate the occupied rooms by one empty room, if you choose to do this. As a result we were woken up at 3 o'clock in the morning by a couple screaming to each other. The other sound problem is that the hotel is bowl-shaped, facing the road. So you can expect heavy traffic noise to start at about 5 am. This has nothing to do with I-5 at all. So, requesting a room that is facing away from the freeway will do you no good at all. This is an average-at-best motel that performs the basic service of giving you a clean bed and bathroom, perfect if you are checking in late and just need those two things given to you so you can take off early the next morning.

    « Best Western »

Great stay. Nice clean hotel. Lobby was super clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. Close to amenities and a fantastic restaurant within walking distance called the Guest House. I travel for business and have this listed as a favourite.

« One of the best hotels we've stayed at »

My family and I come here almost every summer and sometimes during the winter, and this hotel is hands down one of the best we've stayed in. They are so welcoming and nice! And the breakfast in the morning is amazing. Everyone also likes the swimming pool and hot tube. We will definitely be back soon!!

    « Worth the money »

The majority of the staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and the hotel is in a great location with just a few minutes drive to most attractions. Close to Portland without the high price. Pool, work out room, great breakfast and pet friendly.

« Detail was not there »

It was pretty good.,wi if not good kept kicking out. Breakfast .butter not out knives not out had to ask for them eggs and sausages looked like they been there forever. Instructions to restaurant not clear.

« Business work in Salem »

At first glance the place looked slightly dated needing some remodeling work, but upon closer inspection was well kept and clean. Service was exceptional and we were even able to make some schedule changes with our team of 3 guys staying different nights. The continental breakfast was typical faire, but the pancake maker was a highlight. Just push a button and out comes two fresh pancakes!

    « Enroute to Seattle »

This older hotel is updated with friendly, helpful staff. Check-in is easy. The room met our travel needs and was clean. The breakfast was a typical Best Western breakfast. The pool and fitness room look nice but unfortunately we did not have time to use either one.

    « Great hotel »

We stay at this hotel 3-4 times a year. Have always had a great stay. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. Breakfast is good and always lots to eat. Recommend asking for rooms away from the new stores behind the hotel as it can get a little noisy.

« The WORST hotel experience EVER! »

Travelled to and from Colorado back to Oregon. Each hotel we stayed at I had confirmed in advance that they accepted cats as most hotels we discovered do not. After check-in around 4pm we discovered that the room had a horrible odor, the beds were in awful condition, and the electrical and heating/cooling not only wasn't functional but looked like it hadn't been upgraded since the hotel had been built. The entire room appeared like it had been part of a really bad scene at a trashy hotel from the 70's. It was awful -- and we were to be there for two nights! Admittedly, we had already experienced some nice, and some not so impressive BW hotels during our trip, but this was the bottom of the barrel -- and in Salem? In order to close the bathroom door for privacy you had to stand sideways between the tub and toilet. Really? Yes, really. The cats were stressed more than normal as everything smelled in the room and there was no way to get adequate ventilation without opening wide the door, which meant the cats would disappear. When I returned to the office to inquire about the condition of the room I was informed by the front desk employee that 'yes, there had been complaints made previously regarding the beds & housekeeping had been requesting the $ to replace the beds.' I then made a comment that I would have stayed at the other BW in Salem for proximity to our destination but had confirmed that cats were not allowed at the property. At this point the employee informed me that both hotels had the same owner! I was surprised that BW would allow a franchisee 2 hotels in the same area. The employee then informed me that cats were not allowed at this BW either. At that point I countered the employee indicating that if she looked at my reservation, Diamond Reward status, & all previous reservations she could clearly see I had confirmed each stay with cats. Our room was directly in view of the front desk & we made no attempt to hide the cats as I had called each hotel directly to confirm & review every reservation. From this point our nightmare grew worse! Over the course of the next 2 hours we were informed we were being evicted & our credit card would not be refunded as the manager was not 'available.' I called BW Rewards customer service to register a complaint at the atrocious way we were being treated & now forced to leave. My complaint was escalated to a higher level with a BW rep who made numerous attempts to reach the hotel manager as well. His calls were never returned either. Many other assaults occurred over the next 2 wks including fraud which is incomprehensible. The sad reality is I am confident that this is not the first customer this hotel has shafted before. My repeated calls to BW customer service resulted in my being told that I had sent a letter of apology from the hotel -- boldface lie, & that my money had been refunded -- another lie. The truth -- never heard anything from the hotel (no call, email, fax, letter, nada) and my money was refunded eventually though briefly. Five days after the money was finally refunded to my credit card the hotel manager resent the transaction through without my authorization -- today known as fraud, otherwise known as stealing. When I called my bank to dispute the charge, VISA then got involved because of the fraud. The major inconvenience of my primary credit card for business being unavailable because it took almost 2 wks to get it replaced is reprehensible -- all due to a hotel committing fraud because a Diamond reward member was unconscionably evicted & the customer complained to get the record and matter resolved and corrected rightly! Clearly I couldn't recommend anyone staying at a BW in Salem as the owner doesn't care at all about the property or the guests, and the hotel manager was only interested in keeping her job, not about taking care of the guest or doing what was right in the first place. No issue would have been at the outset if we had been informed that cats were not allowed when the reservation was made. We never were anything but honest about travelling with the cats -- that's ludicrous. Pet owners who have any integrity at all don't try to hide their animals but accommodate them because travelling is stressful on everyone! Though I obviously support BW (Diamond rewards member status), I cannot ever recommend a BW in Salem, OR. My apologies for how long this review is -- this was a synopsis of the nightmare we lived through. Would have been a rating of "-5" if that was an option!

« Not the best Best Western in the chain »

I'm not a fan of the outside doors on hotels. Room had kind of a musty smell. Found a spider in the tub this morning. Just did not get that comfortable feeling at this hotel. The beds were the worst I've ever slept on ever at a Best Western and I've stayed at a lot of Best Western hotels. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Indoor pool was nice and clean. No problems with the staff.

« Horrible impression for an overseas visitor to our County »

I reserved this hotel for a visitor traveling on business from France as it appears to be a very nice place to stay on the website. The first night the room smelled so overwhelmingly bad from cigarette smoke he asked to move rooms, was placed in another stinky room. Couldn't sleep and we ended up having to book him at another hotel for his second night so he could get some rest before traveling back to France and could not receive a refund for the night he was not staying due to "policy" what about the non smoking policy???????? HORRIBLE

    « i stay at best western »

Over the past 8 years i have found that if a Best Western is near my travel locations i always will pick Best Western. Reason 1, never a bad room. 2 like the breakfast better than any others. 3 Always clean, friendly.

    « Daughters Wedding »

I came to Oregon for my daughters wedding It was a very pleasant stay At Great Western. when I have to go out of town I will be looking for a Great Western to stay at. My daughters step mom stayed with me there and she was very happy with her stay there to.

    « Great Find »

Everything is spotless and in great condition. The room was large, and very clean. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was well managed. The room was very quiet even on a busy street. The only disappointment was the cheap small screen TV.

    « Room ODOR=0 stars/Amenities&service=4Star »

Unfortunately we were provided with a room that had a very strong musty odor. While the room looked clean, there was something in the carpet, curtains, walls, or A/C that generated the very strong foul odor. We kept the door open as long as possible. The bathroom and front windows were kept open all night to provide ventilation, but the odor made it difficult for us to get a good night's sleep. The front desk staff was apologetic and offered to spray air freshener, but that just covers up the problem rather than eliminating it. No other rooms were available for making a change. Due to allergies, this caused me considerable discomfort. Perhaps I needed to have been more explicit in my request for a odorless room. I had only requested no smoking & no pets as the special request box was too small to add much more.

« Easy access to Freeway »

We wanted to stay close to the Factory Outlet stores in Woodburn Oregon and did not know that there was a Best Western there so we opted to stay in Salem. All of the reviews seemed to be good so we booked. The hotel has the same floorplan as the old motels of the past. Bathroom in the back with an open doorway, cloths hanger and sink and two beds with TV. The main door opens out into the parking lot and a large window in front. The beds were soft but very saggy and uncomfortable depending on how you sleep. It is easy to find and easy to get back on the freeway.

    « Great stay »

This was the best nights sleep we had in a 6 day trip, the room was exceptionally clean, internet worked with no problems. Front desk was very helpful and clean had a good fresh smell too. They had coffee till our bedtime, and even had an alcohol selection to choose from, those with a sweet tooth also had some popular choices from which to choose.

Location was excellent for my purpose of visiting. Easy access to freeway. Room was average, but very clean. Fridge was marginal, heating/ac was noisy but worked. Breakfast was average. Internet was terrible. My key card had to be recoded each day after the room was cleaned. I visit Salem on business a couple of times a year and will consider staying here again due to location and clean room

    « Good hotel »

We had a clean, quiet and large room. The bath area had lots of counter space and the room had lots of desk space. The floor was squeaky so not good for the ones below. The mini-fridge was smaller than normal. There were limited choices at breakfast as well as limited seating but it wasn't too busy so no problem for us. There were 3 deadbolts on the door (opens to the outside) which kind of makes you wonder about safety in that neighborhood. We didn't see anything which made us feel unsafe.

    « Clean, reliable, convenient »

This facility lives up to its longstanding reputation for very good value and great convenience to North Salem and the northern parts of Marion County. In addition, although it seems far from downtown, it is barely 10 minutes by surface streets and even less by freeway to the heart of Oregon's capital city. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the service is good, fine companions to very reasonable rates. When the occasion arises, we will stay here again.

« Another very nice Best Western hotel »

when on a road trip in U.S., we like motels that are convenient to major interstates and that offer first floor rooms in front of which we can park our car. This was an excellent motel, courteous staff, free WiFi (a bit slow), continental breakfast, just a half mile from I-5, not far from some excellent restaurant options. Room clean, quiet, comfortable; price was very reasonable. We are members of Best Western Rewards club, and have had great luck with BW facilities throughout the USA. (For dinner, there is a very nice Olive Garden restaurant just one freeway exit south of the exit for this hotel; and there are other highly rated restaurants even closer) Hotel is less than an hour from rental car dropoff points at Portland airport, so this is a great place to stay if you are planning to fly out on the next day.

    « Enjoyable stay »

I had an enjoyable stay for the night I was there. The fitness room had newer equipment, the hot breakfast had a lot to offer and the beds were very comfortable. There were a few things that could use updating, but it was obvious they haven't the place get run down. I would stay here again!

« Noon room change request is a little late »

After 1st night requested room change around Noon due to upper floor noise. Front desk said it was a little late for a change request then continued to find an upper floor room. I was able to get a friendlier interaction towards the end, but was that "reminder" necessary? ALL room change requests at other facilities have been welcomed, whether fulfilled or not. Never questioned.
