Resumen de la reserva
We booked online. For $110.00 we received: Dirty room, dirty bathroom, dirty 2nd floor hallway, dirty stairs Trash and construction debris in the parking lot and sidewalks - Welcome to the Best Western! Tiny tiny bathroom Ceiling in shower falling down, shower curtain dirty, dirty tub, toilet that didn't flush. Cheap pressboard furniture Horrible Mattress. No boxspring LOUD hvac unit that ran all night. Hallway smells - not of construction. They are renovating, but these are not construction issues. No to the free breakfast. Spend $50 more and go to the other side of the highway.
Place is currently under construction. However, that has nothing to do with the quality of the pillows which is quite low. Security lock on door didn't work. Difficult to flush toilet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great and brought the rating up.
Musty smell when entering the room. Floors are dirty and had blue masking tape over a big soft spot in the middle of the floor. No soap provided. Asked front desk for soap and was told they had none. Do yourself a favor and stay on the other side of 75 at one of the other hotels.
Check in went ok. The front desk person wasn't inviting, and offered no assistance. It smelled “off” in the lobby. There was a sign stating they were doing renovations. Nowhere in booking did it state this, or we wouldn't have stayed here! We drove around to our room, and there was construction materials right outside our door. Rolls of carpet inside the door. The pool was brownish, green and it smelled like chlorinated mold in the pool area. The halls were dark and the carpet was filthy. Our room was half renovated. The fridge fell out of the cabinet when we tried to open it, and there was no door on the freezer part of it. There was a low spot in the middle of the room where the linoleum was cracking and every time someone stepped in that area, the floor crunched. There was no soap of any kind in the bathroom, we had to call and ask for some. The front desk person brought us a bar of zest soap, told us they had no more pillows to give us an extra, and when we showed him the floor, he said ok, he will add it to the list. There were no towel bars and the sink was dirty. It dripped water all night long. The toilet wouldn't flush either. Breakfast was a joke. Nothing was hot. There were only 3 pieces of bread and enough juice for one person. The breakfast attend was friendly. This hotel is very outdated, and the renovations are only half done. It really shouldn't be open until renovations are done. Old Sinks were dumped outside the windows, and it was pretty dirty and dingy.
Check in was great with friendly staff and excellent directions to our room. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. The rooms were nice with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Bathroom was on the small side but had good quality tolietries. The bed was comfortable with a nice selection of pillows. The TV was on the desk which takes up a lot of space. The light runs across the top of the bed and it is either on or off. No other reading light is available. The A/C worked great and was relativility quite. The curtain did not cover the window well and let in some light. The halls were on the dim side and the carpet was dated but as I stated earlier with rennovations going on this should be corrected soon. The breakfast was solid, nothing to write home about but good. Sausage, egg, bacon, toast, bagels, cereal, juice and coffee. The breakfast attendant was very nice. They have pet friendly rooms and a pool with hot tub and an exercise room. There are several restaraunts nearby to eat at. Even though the building is a little dated it is still a good place to stop.
Great hotel, new rooms looks really good. Check-in was a smooth process, staff was very friendly and breakfast was good too. highly recommend this hotel.
We checked in at 4:00pm and was supposed to be on the second floor but they put us on the other side of the hotel in the first floor. The ac in our room didn't work, there was bugs floating in the pool, the shower in our room was nasty there was hair in the tub. I would not recommend this place.
Viewed the rooms at this location and decided to pass. This is not typical Best Western quality. Room rates were reduced ($89) due to ongoing renovation but we would not stay even if free. I was shown a renovated room …no carpet, mirror leaning against the wall and strong cheap paint smell. Long travel to even get to the room. So disappointed because we try to frequent BW properties to get points and are usually nice places.
Worst place I have ever been. The motel was in the process of being renovated but the room (the second one, actually) was definitely not completed. The shower rod was barely hanging up; there were no towel rods; tv remote did not work and the office had no batteries; bed frame was for a queen sized bed but the mattress was only a double; tops were missing on several items of furniture; tv not mounted on the wall although there was an opening for it. After complaining to Best Western corporate and at the motel, was anything done? NO. No refund, no apology, no offer of any kind.
Love the stay and the hotel was very clean and the pool is amazing and very refreshing. I would recommend anyone to stay
Horrible nasty hotel. Rude staff and disgusting pool. Had 2 towels in our room with 3 people. Ask for a extra towel and was denied and told we had enough. Fridge was nasty and rusty. Keycards would work in the doors. I could go on but just save your money and book somewhere else.
From check In to Check Out, everything was very good. Staff was also very helpful. Yes, construction does make it little inconvenient but we spent most of our time in swimming pool area.
I would recommend this hotel always when in Richmond. Definitely everything was perfectly great. The way the management is and the way they handled our stay was smooth. I will consider it first whenever I am in Richmond.
During my stay at the Best Western in Lexington, KY, one team member truly stood out and exceeded my expectations. Hardy provided exceptional service, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and willingness to assist with any request made my stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel, thanks in large part to their outstanding dedication to guest service.
Hardy at the front desk was so friendly! The location is great, nice and safe. Hardy called the room right after we checked in and asked if the room was ok (I wish more people/places did that) I told him it was great. Simple and easy! Was a quiet nights rest.
We had a pleasant stay, quiet and clean. Friendly staff, very accommodating. We will stay here again.
Building is in Building is in need of repair. My bathroom had leaking faucet, lots of someone else's hair in bathtub, dirty towel. Not hangers in closet and not available according to desk clerk. No housekeeping available. Breakfast facility had coffee, juice machines, and empty dairy cooler all market "out of order". Noisy party going on in parking lot and in building.
First off the hotel door did not lock. You literally can open it up without a key card. Second off. Be careful of the hotel staff if you have young daughter, my daughter was asked for pictures and her Instagram. It made her feel really uncomfortable and made her cry because she was so scared staying there.
Worst hotel and service we have ever experienced!! Entire hotel/ room was disgusting!! Walking to our room had to walk thru the smell of weed smoke!!!
The whole place under renovations. Charged full price for a room not completed. Bathroom drain didn't work properly. No exhaust fan. Mirror leaning against wall. One bedside lamp. 2 bedside tables with the glass insert missing. The color of the walls made the room feel dirty. I could go on.. Just steer away until they finish.
We had the worst experience in many years of travel at this hotel. DON'T use this hotel. We had reserved a room and arrived at 7:30 pm after 12 hours on the road and checked in. After being advised there were no luggage carts, we struggled to a second floor room (I recently broke a leg) to find the room completely unfinished…mid renovation. The same with the four other rooms they tried to give us. At that point I requested a refund and we would be on our way. Manager refused saying he would provide a lamp for the unfinished room. Best western customer service also useless. Finally found a room that was not renovated but ready for occupancy. DON'T STAY HERE!!!!
We had a reservation that specified a ground-floor room so my mobility-challenged sister could negotiate the distance between the car and the room. But they put us in a room that was impossibly far from a functioning entrance (the nearest entrance, which required a room key to use wasn't functional). After I brought it too the receptionist's attention, he changed our room to one that was nearer a functional entrance. Nevertheless, I had some difficulty (along with other guests) getting our key to work at the functioning entrance. Our room was okay if a bit noisy during the night. The breakfast was disappointing: only a tub of some sort of eggs-and-meat concoction, dry cereal and waffle mix. The coffee machine was broken and there was no orange juice. The place was clearly undergoing some sort of renovation but probably not worth the price for one night. I'm a Best Western Golden Pass holder, but was disappointed with this place.
Avoid this hotel if you can. We called on our way through as the pictures looked good. There was no place to eat dinner that we had take out from. At that point I wanted to go somewhere else but already had my credit card info. There are no elevators! The room was very dirty. It didn't have enough towels for all of us and when I went down to the front desk the clerk was overwhelmed and said the hotel didn't have enough towels for all. There were random people hanging out in the hallways. One security down was open with a door stop in it. I asked the front desk clerk isn't that not safe? she was like, oh do you want me to close it? I said of course I did! Any random person could walk in. The breakfast was good, really fresh biscuits and waffle maker. But I wouldn't stay here again.
We have stayed at this property a couple times in the past month. They are making some nice renovations and I love the updated rooms. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to make you stay great. We will be staying again in the near future.
I recently spent 3 days at this wonderful hotel in Richmond, KY. The customer service was outstanding, with every staff member going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The ambiance of the hotel added to the overall comfort, making it feel like a second home. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. It's a perfect blend of warmth, affordability and exceptional service.
The bed sheets were dirty, there was no kleenex. Called the front desk, they advised they had no kleenex at all. Took over 1 hour to get a flat sheet and a blanket that's all they had. The shower walls looked like falling apart, the towel rack falling off wall. The fridge was off in the morning and power on desk not working. The breakfast was terrible. Bagel stale, not much to choose from. They don't even have regular staff checking you out. Do not recommend and will never go there again. We belong to Best Western and have never had a problem til now. Don't waste your time.
Hardy at the front desk was so very helpful with a booking error I had made. The room was quiet and comfortable. Convenient location for a stop while traveling. And even had some hot breakfast available in the morning. Would certainly stay again.
Food was not good, lack of options and quality, pool was not heated which was very disappointing, hotel undergoing Reno's, but the ceiling looked like it could collapse in the shower any minute, the white towels were also brown and black stained and small sized. The bed also looked like it had some stains too. Staff was friendly but the vibes of hotel in general were scary-and the fitness center opened at 7 which wasn't helpful since I planned to go before then.
When we checked in we did not get the professional greeting we usually do. Well ok.. no problem… We went to our room . The hallway was dark and dirty. The room smelled. 10 minutes later the front desk called and they said we were given the wrong room . We had to pack up and move to another. We were told it was a renovated room. It also smelled like a wet dog! The hallway upstairs was filthy . We both woke up in the morning all stuffed up. It obviously was a pet friendly room and we were not made aware. My husband has allergies and we should not have stayed. It was late and we just wanted to sleep. We went down to breakfast in the morning. It was very sparse and looked discussing! We were told they were out of bread! We couldn't even take toast. We declined and went elsewhere . My husband and I travel quite a bit and stay at Best Westerns most of the time. This is probably one of the worst. Do not stay here!!
Me and my boyfriend booked this hotel to have a night away from our crazy lives. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. However, the next morning around 9, 9:30 and 10:30 people tried entering our room. I believe it was the owner and house keeping. We had til 11 to check out but left after the third attempt to enter our room. Had we not had the door deadbolted and the chain on the door we would've had visitors. Not what we wanted when trying to get away and get some privacy. The breakfast was not that great either. They told us it was a full buffet breakfast but wound up only having 4 things on the buffet. I don't think we'll be going back here.
I needed an inexpensive room due to visiting a friend in the hospital. I certainly got that, but also - you really do get what you pay for. Dirty bathroom, threadbare towels, poor breakfast. Front Desk staff was friendly - and the bed was clean and comfortable. However I will not stay here again nor recommend it. It felt run down, dirty and in bad need of a remodel
Nasty place. Grimy carpets, mold in the bathroom, cockroach in the sink, stained sink and bathtub. The location is convenient off the highway. but otherwise every thing was very old and grimy and nasty.
This place is an absolute dump. NO elevators. Outlets in the room don't work. The ones that did were located behind the beds where you couldn't reach. Very old and rundown. The manager/owner was extremely rude and unreasonable. I would highly recommend avoiding this place and book elsewhere for cheaper. This hotel does not come close to a $150 price tag.
The whole building and rooms are dingy and dated, however, the staff did mention that the hotel is about to have major renovations. The pool and hot tub were shockingly green and dirty. The carpet in our room was gross and the bathroom ceiling was moldy. The worst thing is that we had brought a bag of snacks in and ants were all in it the next morning. I will say that the staff we encountered were all very kind. I would wait to stay here until after the updates.
This hotel is a disaster. Raggedy decor in entry and lobby, peeling paint and a dirty room. We refused to stay and went elsewhere. In addition to that, the employee who checked us in announced our room number loudly , which is an unsafe practice. Don't waste your time.
Telephone in guest room was not working. Bath towel had stains on it. Water in Pool and hot tub was green. Shaving cream from Reception Desk was dried out and unusable. Check in was easy. Hotel location was convenient. Close to many restaurants.
My experience at this hotel was absolutely dreadful. The moment I entered my room and spotted a bedbug, I knew I had to leave immediately. The fact that such a serious infestation exists in the first place is utterly unacceptable. I didn't even get the chance to sleep there, and I'm appalled by the lack of hygiene and care that this hotel demonstrates. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
We've stayed here every summer (minus covid) for the last 25 years. Affordable, clean, easy access to breakfast and dinner locations. Easy access to the freeway for day expeditions. Cheerful service. Nothing fancy, but Best Western serves our needs well. Staff has been always good to us and a really nice gold course in town.
Outstanding Staff.. Outstanding Staff.. Outstanding Staff!!! Rooms were very comfortable and cozy, and service. They definitely went above and beyond for our group! Breakfast was great every day and They were very sweet to provide us room service at 7pm one day.
We were satisfied with the stay, price was very reasonable and rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice and friendly. Early check-in was not an issue at this hotel. We'll Highly recommend this hotel and be back on the way back home.
Great room, great staff and very awesome breakfast! Swimming pool was sparkly clean and extremely cold but hottub jets weren't working. Wich was a bummer. All together I enjoyed my night. Recommend anyone to stay here if your traveling by.
I will happily stay here again! I had a great experience. Front desk staff is exceptional The pool is very large and clean. Breakfast was nice. Very comfortable beds Its very close to the college and area restaurants.
This place is amazing. So cozy and it's nice to let lose in the hot tub and pool. Kick ass breakfast, free internet, helpful caring staff, clean, coffee, vending, cable Television and ice cold Air conditioner for these hot summer days.
This place needs a lot of work to get it updated and cleaned up. There were a number of shady looking characters in and out of this facility. Staff were very friendly but they could not make needed changes in the one night we stayed. We will never go back.
This hotel needs some major renovations and cleaning up. Missing light bulbs and burned out bulbs in our room. Toilet wouldn't flush right. Coffee pack in room was open when we got there and coffee made with sealed pack in morning had white particles floating in it. Landscaping around hotel is none existent unless you like weeds!. Front desk staff was incompetent. Carpets in the place are dirty all over.
We stopped after 10+hours in a tiny car really that was way to small to fit our family of 5 soon to be 6. Pretty much “hell on wheels” meaning traveling very long distance sitting so packed together with 3 kids and pregnant mama to come here thinking there was a pool. Only soon to find out they were treating it with shock so we could not use it during our short stay to burn energy from sitting all day should have been annouced before I paid for a room expecting there was no amenities I wasn't going to have access to. My kids were so bummed and I had to deal with not only the hearty price tag for a room with pool access I didn't have but now the kids built up energy and resentment that somehow it was my fault “your hotels” pool was out of order. Rooms were basic and hallways smelled funny. Nowhere hear worth $100 I paid for room with no hot tub and pool. Breakfast was great l. Mini fridge in room didn't work well.
The place was awful. The carpets throughout were filthy and hadn't been vacuumed. In terms of our room, there was a stale odor, the comforter was stained, the remote didn't work and to top it off, the refrigerator and microwave weren't plugged in and the heavy unit holding these items couldn't be moved to plug them in. The grounds were full of weeds and there was broken mirrors and a toilet alongside the sidewalk. The only positives were the friendly staff and a halfway decent breakfast. As a Rewards member who has come to appreciate the motels, this was disappointing. Stay elsewhere!!
Extremely pleasant stay. Location was perfect, just off of interstate. Donavan at front desk was very nice and helpful. Housekeeping did a great job, rooms were nice and clean. Staff was very good, and so was the service.
Swimming pool and Hot tub room is huge. Rooms looked nice and clean, very good water force in shower. In the morning we had a good breakfast, Breakfast attendant was very nice and helpful. Highly Recommended!
The clerk at front desk was rude. We ask for 2 wash cloths, 3 times from 5:30pm - 9;00 pm, once on phone and twice by a 74 yr old walking from other building. Never got the wash cloths. We have stayed at this motel multiple times and this time was a disappointment.
Highly recommend! Beautiful hotel, ideally located for a tourist. Very friendly staff with big smile!. Very clean and rooms smelled good! We'll definitely come back when we're here or passing by from / to Michigan.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and the overall impression is great. They had room available when we got here at noon, Fast check-in and check-out, friendly staff. The room is nice, clean, no smell. Breakfast options: at the hotel for an additional fee or many restaurants and coffee shops are near the hotel.
Here is the run down. Black mold all throughout hotel. Bad smell, old mattress, bed bugs, stained bedding. Broken fixtures, broken tiles, ceiling falling in, no refunds given only move room to the same
Despite a last minute booking and a very busy week at the Best Western, the staff was accommodating and also upgraded my room. Everyone took good care of me and the location was in close proximity to everything. I enjoyed my stay and the staff was gracious and Clean Rooms and too.
You read it right, Breakfast was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Write off of I-75, very easy to locate. Rooms were old but clean, bed was amazing and shower was amazing too. Highly Recommended!
We waited 20 minutes when we arrived, my niece finally walked the hotel halls for another 10 minutes until until she found the front desk clerk. He was trying to help another guest get into her room. Several of the door locks would not open the door to the rooms, there was only 1 door you could get into the hotel from the parking lot, other than the doors into the lobby. Most of the outlets in the room didn't work. My niece found a bedbug in her bed in the morning. I will never stay at that hotel in Richmond again, and don't advise anyone else yo stay there either.
The hotel was very clean. My king bed room was nice with great linens and pillows. The a/c was super cold and staff nice and friendly. I didn't get to use the pool however my room was close to the pool and I didn't smell chlorine strongly as I have experienced in other hotels with indoor pools.
Usually I don't fall asleep very easily on hotel beds, but this hotel had very nice beds. I slept really good! Breakfast was also super, lots of hot items to choose from, plus waffle. Their breakfast actually saved us $50-$60.
I used to be loyal to Best Western and had their highest elite status because of lots of business travel. A few years ago, I switched to other national brands because Best Western raised their rates too high, and the quality had slipped. Here at Richmond, Kentucky, the trend continues. Not the cleanest room or bathroom, but acceptable. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast looks good on the surface: eggs, sausage, etc. But it all tastes terrible: cheap powdered eggs, and I couldn't eat the sausage because it tasted like plastic. It's clear the owners have cut corners to maximize profits. This is not your father's Best Western. We drove through the area a week later, and picked a different place.
Our stay with best western was perfect. we are members of AARP and was given a discount and that was great. the front desk staff are very kind and pleasant. We felt right at home, no need to worry about any one patrolling and watching your every move, thats what i love the most about this place, its so private feeling, no harrassments. you truly feel like you have the whole place to yourself, i think they spread their patrons out and makes it feel this way. the rooms are very clean, absolutely no smelly rooms ever, the pool area and hottub are excellent shape
The parking lot had a lot of debris and trash. I clearly stayed on the wrong side of the highway (as I realized the next morning.) the building is old which I'm okay with as long as it is kept up. This was not the case!! Dirty carpet, dirty sheets (that I discovered the next morning while searching for a sock in the bed.) The rubber mat in the tub was also dirty and the toilet paper holder had rust on it. The window unit's fan setting would not stay on and I was unable to adjust the thermostat. The refrigerator was not staying cold (and this was the second room I was moved to because the first room had a non-working frig.) I can say it was a surprisingly quiet environment for being right off the highway, but that's all I can say for it. Definitely does not meet Best Western standards!
Disappointed with how outdated it was leaving the appearance looking uncleanliness. We travel back and forth from Michigan to Florida now. Based on this experience we are now hesitant staying at other Best Westerners in the future. The staff was very professional and helpful.
The hotel is located near a bunch of places to eat and activities. The pool and hot tub are both is excellent condition. We stayed when they had a game in town so the hotel was full. But it did not make any of the services slow. Breakfast was hot and good, the pool was cool and had plenty of room for us and 2 other families to enjoy it at the same time.
Older motel but was clean and staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was fair and coffee was not good. I did not use pool or hot tub but it looked very nice. Good value for money and I would stay again
if you want to sleep go some where else and IF the idiot at the desk has their cell phone DO NOT CHECK IN they charges my credit card $224,620.00 they did not pay it but I get to wait for a new card .
Me and my husband wanted to spend a night in a hotel and just get away from our house and responsibilities for a day. The lady who checked us in was super friendly and thoughtful and the room was cozy! We had fun in the pool and hot tub and we watched movies on the tv! The bed was clean and comfortable, and we woke up and got nice and warm breakfast at the dining area! It was delicious and checkout was a breeze.
We slept well at this hotel. Close to Interstate 75 but situated so that we didn't hear traffic noise. Beds comfortable. There's a microwave and refrigerator. My husband was pleased with fitness room. Breakfast room was a decent size. Breakfast offerings were eggs and other hot sides, waffles, cereal. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
This was a terrible hotel as far as the room goes. It was dirty and old. The toilet tub were not clean, chairs stained, dust everywhere, carpet needed cleaning bathroom door had so much dirt on it from never being cleaned. Luckily I had Clorox wipes and cleaned the bathroom. The air conditioner was so full of dust I was afraid I would get sick.the bathroom door picture is after I tried to clean it. Not acceptable. They had soon nerve charging money for this place . They need to hire someone who knows how to clean a room. The parking lot had at least 10 guys drinking and hanging out. We did not feel safe. Breakfast room was clean and decent buffet. Front desk person was nice and helpful. I would have not stayed but it was late we were driving all day and needed to rest.
Stayed here on a road trip to MI last week. I'd made the RSVP via their website for a room with two queen beds. It was somewhat a comedy of errors when we arrived. First, they had us on the second floor, however, there are no elevators on the property! This was NOT mentioned when I booked the room. My mom and I wandered all over the place searching for one, I finally went back to the front desk and was told they didn't have one. Well, we couldn't really drag all of our luggage up the stairs, so I asked for a similar room on the first floor. We walked to the 2nd room (all the way down a very long hallway) only to discover it had a king bed. I walked all the way back to the front desk and was told they only rooms with two queen beds were on the 2nd floor. I explained this wasn't going to work due to the luggage situation, and could I cancel with no penalty. The answer was no. When I reiterated that I needed two beds, the clerk said she didn't realize there were two of us (uh......) but said she could get me two double beds on the first floor. This despite the fact she'd told me earlier there were only king beds on the first floor. So, a bit of a hassle, but we finally got a room on the first floor with TWO beds. The property itself is very care worn and is in need of some serious updating. Our room was functional enough but it had a underlying odor that was icky (it smelled to me like cat urine, despite the no pet policy). I will say the breakfast was very nice (quite a lot of options) although there were signs everywhere stating you couldn't take food back to your room (another thing I didn't really understand). We stayed at a different hotel on our way back home.
Clean but it needs major renovation. I picked the boiled egg but it was not fresh. The parking lot was questionable location and too many people were hang out at the parking lot when I arrived around 10pm local time.
Nice staff, but the room had an old stale smell of cigarette undertone even though the front desk gave me a non-smoking room. The AC unit was dirty and needs the filter changed, but it did keep the room cool.
7-3--22 The hotel is right off I-75. The rooms were clean. It was nice having the A/C on in the room before I got there. The potty was small and low. Shower was okay. Really good hot/cold breakfast selection. Lots of places nearby to eat. The hot tub was relaxing but small. The pool is great for doing laps (see pictures) of both) but alas, the pool wasn't heated which is why I gave an overall Very Good rating. The hotel is close to some local historical sites (within 10 miles). I may or may not stay here again if I pass this way again. I wish more hotels provided safes in the room for valuables.
Good clean older hotel. Good value for the dollar. Breakfast was very good and had a good selection of items. Check in and check out went very well. Room was clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
this is a good place to stay staff was very nice and helpful. the motel was very clean there was plenty places to eat close by some within walking distance the pool and pool are was very clean and well keep good place to stay
We checked in and when we got to the room it had a bad smell. I knew the place was full, so we were stuck. Between the noisy cars in the lot and the smell we were ready to leave the next morning. We will never go to this best. ( Worst) western again. The breakfast was ok
As soon as you walk in you can smell urine. The hallways and rooms reek of it. The room we stayed in was nauseating we had to run the room so cold just to keep the smell away. No other rooms to put us in and no way we could cancel. Floor board in the room was ripped from the wall and all we got was a “sorry”. Very low light in rooms. No elevator to get us to the second floor. How is this hotel meeting standards to stay open? Who knows. I would go somewhere else. This best western is all bad which sucks because all the others we stayed in were in amazing condition.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is an older hotel, and not exactly well laid out. You check in at the front, and drive around to a series of entries at the back. The rooms are dated, and the building looks weathered, BUT the room was clean, and the bed was decent. The parking lot of the burger joint next door was a little rowdy, with honking truck horns and guys riding mini bikes around the parking lot, but there were no issues, and it was pretty quiet inside. We had been driving for 13 hours, and had an early morning ahead, so we had a brief stay and skipped the free breakfast.
The staff was very helpful. We were heading to our winter campground and needed a hotel with lots of parking because we were pulling a 32 foot rv. We called ahead and they were very accommodating. Will definitely return.
I was skeptical about booking this hotel because I saw several bad reviews, but my own experience with Best Western has always been pleasant so I booked anyway. I went to a concert Friday night at Rupp and had a training in Richmond on Saturday morning. I booked a room for just myself and only need one bed. A week or so after booking some of my family decided to go with me. I called the location and they were very accommodating and changed my room from one king bed to two queens and let me keep my original rate! Check out for this hotel was 11am and my training ended at 12. I spoke to them about late checkout and explained that I had family traveling with me and they allowed me to check out later without any extra fees. Wonderful service and I'll definitely be back in the future should I need to stay near Richmond!
This facility was nothing like mentioned/pictured on the sites. Needs a lot of improving unless they can play off all the out dating. My first impressed when entering the hallway was The Shining.. my kids were even teasing each other at bed time “redrum”. At the pool I was kind of what for the Grizwald family to pull in the family truckster on their way to Wallyworld. Totally has the 70/80s feel!! Ps bring your own towels apparently they don't do laundry for extras
Stayed for the night while traveling and did not expect the stay I had here for the price. It may be old but it's affordable, comfy, clean, very friendly and right off the exit. I'll be choosing Best Western again when I'm back.
Loved this hotel, everything was great. Breakfast was a full American buffet and the attendant was wonderful. The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating. It felt like I was staying at a home away from home.
Great place to stay for a midway stop. Lots of restaurants around. Friendly staff, terrific breakfast, clean rooms. Huge pool with a hot tub that was amazing after a long drive. A little older but very well maintained.
The room was dated, definitely could use a new carpet, but the bathroom looked like it was recently updated. We had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. A very good breakfast with all the basics was provided.
First room the carpet and chair was wet. Was moved to smaller room across the hall and it smelled of pet odor. In my experience, this is not usual for a Best Western but it will be awhile before I am willing to go again.
This property is conveniently located off I-75 but with the room locations secluded enough to eliminate road/truck noise. The hotel serves as a small conference center so parking is plentiful, especially for travelers with a trailer. The property is well maintained albeit a bit dated in its décor. However, the rooms have plenty of outlets for charging electronics. A nice size pool is available and family friendly. A key feature is the breakfast area which has a very well designed cafeteria-style serving area and plenty of seating options. On our stay, the breakfast area was fully attended with food regularly refreshed and tables cleaned between guests. There are many dining opportunities in the vicinity and major grocery/department stores. Overall, a nice property with service-oriented staff and comfortable rooms.
The staff was all friendly, helpful and did what they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The front desk staff are so professional and pleasant.. The breakfast was really good. They delivered!
Staff was super nice and helpful. Our room was very clean and had a fresh clean smell to it. Bed was comfortable and my pillow was the best! The pool/spa area was big and spacious however, there was green algae in some places around the rim of the pool. The pool and spa could use a deep cleaning and fresh paint. The hotel itself needs updated badly. The lobby was not very inviting to look at and the carpeting in the hall ways smelled bad, old. And we prefer full breakfasts and they only had a continental but that could still be from COVID, I'm not sure. We did not eat there.
Poor breakfast. Dirty breakfast room. Tables dirty at 6:30am and no attendant. Ended up eating in a restaurant. Dirty pool with pool scum and algae around the edges. Workout room nice but there was nothing to clean off the equipment. Room was musty. Never staying there again.
This should not be called a “best” western. It is more like a “worst” western. The place is dark, dingy and very musty smelling. Terrible. Not what I am use to from best western chain. I would have left except we arrived late and had to continue on the next morning.
Once it got dusk, there was prostitutes everywhere! One approached my son! Our door wouldn't lock, Dog barking down the hall. Absolutely horrible this time around. I will never go back. Disappointing.
Best Western Colonial Inn is very comfortable and convenient overnight location off I-75. With some restaurants and places still closed, Breakfast is still very good despite COVID-19. Homemade waffles and sausage links are the best
Tarring of the roof being done and smell was nauseating and gave me a headache. Tried calling front desk from room, did not work. from my cell talked to front desk and asked if I could get a refund (less than 2 hours there) said she would contact manager and get back with me. When I went to check out(could not stay and breath in that horrible smell) she said the manager could refund partial( how much, couldn't say) but bc I booked through 3rd party would have to reach out to them, which I did. The reply they received from the lying manager were blatant lies. Said I was told about the work being done prior to checking in and offered another room or that one to be cleaned(what this has to do with smell permeating in entire place, I don't know). The manager is refusing to refund anything now. Would not recommend this place at all. I have contacted Best Western customer service to see if maybe they might vet management of their chains! We shall see!
This hotel was as expected. Nothing fancy but it certainly meets the need for a weekend trip/overnight stay. The property is dated and could use updating. The location is very easy access to freeway and within reasonable distance of the hiking/wineries/breweries which we wanted to visit.
I also feel cozy and spacious when I come to the best western hotel. I love the bed it's very comfortable and the tv and atmosphere is very clean only improvement needed is the air conditioner on the very top floors!
a great dane visiting my son in Richmond, we stayed at best Western. Got a pet room, $20 a night, no problem. Then my wife went up front to get towels, the owner starts telling my wife that they had a lot of complaints about our dogs barking. We have been traveling withe our fur babies for six years and have stayed in much better places and NEVER had any complaints from any hotels. But of course if someone jiggles the door handle, a dog is gonna bark, but not all day. Then the owner went into our room and said the dogs barked at him. I don't think owner and manager liked white people with dogs. There were other dogs on the property, 2 pitbulls & a great dane, no leashes. Will never stay here again. Will drive to lexington.
Being Best Western Rewards members we looked for that hotel chain traveling to and from Naples, FL. We were very happy to find them along the way with friendly staff, reasonable rates and accommodations that met our needs. Even though the usual hot breakfast could not be served due to the corona virus, we received "to go" bags with water, fresh fruit and a granola bar to start our day.. Great job Best Western!
I needed a clean bed and bathroom for a few nights. I was able to get that here. The outlet in the bathroom wouldn't hold a plug and one didn't work, which is frustrating. The heat did not get our room warm and the temperatures were colder than normal during our visit. In fact the hallways were almost like being outside. The breakfast was unappealing. The building gives off a less than appealing vibe. A little paint and updating would take this place a long way. Again, it sufficed for my needs.
If you need a place to stay and the price is decent than go ahead. Personally I feel like the hotel is quite dated and desperately needs some updating. Upon check in we were given a room and was told no smoking, only our room smelled like a hot ashtray. We were lucky and there was other rooms available, they were able to switch us with no problems. If staying the rooms that are even numbered seem to be louder than the ones that are odd. Just because of the business next door.
We stoped for the night on our way to Florida it was a pleasant stay room was comfortable and clean pool and hot tub was a plus very good mexican resturant within walking distance to motel staff was friendly and breakfast was good
Hotel was extremely cold. Heat did not work. Left it on 86 all night and was still cold in the morning (and I like the room cool usually). I heard another guest ranting to the staff about how cold it was. Area where you check in was warm, hallways leading to your room were freezing and your room.... artic. Room needs upgrades, a huge patch above shower that looked awful. Must keep all food in the breakfast area (posted). Also the biscuit would not cut with the plastic knife #hardasabrick. Worst Best Western I have stayed at in several years. I stay at a lot of them as well with work. We had to stay in a handicap accessible room yet the hotel was fairly empty. Had 1 double bed, not queen, not king a double. Will not stay here again! Hope this helps you avoid this hotel. Thanks
Room was clean but dated. Rating this continental breakfast one of the worst we have had. Eggs tasted artificial, bagels were so hard and dry you could not eat them plain. Tried toasting them but only one side of the bagel/toast toasted other side was obviously broken down. The so called fresh bananas were days old spotted and brown. Left there dissatisfied and hungry.
We stayed 1 night and would definitely stay here again. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The price was reasonable and breakfast was good. There was a problem with the computer on checkin but the front desk staff person was excellent and we were compensated for the inconvenience.
This hotel is well maintained and very reasonably priced. Very Good value. However, this is the first hotel I have stayed at that had Gluten-free options available and some on display for breakfast. A major plus for our Ciliac daughter.
This hotel is older, but the beds are comfortable and the whole place is CLEAN. I have seen some older hotels go to crap because their owners didn't want to put the work in to maintain them, but it's obvious these owners care. The pool is HUGE AND WARM. There are two stories without an elevator. The doors do require closing, it's an old building. The breakfast was a bit of a letdown, only because of the size of the kitchen and how underutilized it was. We stayed here on a Thursday and came back in the following Sunday. Two different rooms and both of them were clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was the hot tub. The first night it didn't have enough chlorine and the second night it had way too much. My hands still smell of chlorine despite a full shower afterward, and that was last night. I did like the fitness area though.
Rooms need updating and the shower is lousy. Hot breakfast was poor - eggs and potatoes cold and the coffee was lousy, so was the drinking water - tasted strongly of a chemical and needed to spit out first sip. Needs improvement.
This hotel is located near the I 75 and it's perfect for a nighttime stopover. Staff at the desk is courteous. and friendly. Breakfast is ok, just basic staff. Overall this place offers a decent value for the money you pay.
Room was good. Nice bed, hot shower. Breakfast was ok. Hallways were cold. Little to no heat. Hot tub was on the green side, didn't use. Pool itself was ok but the walk back to the room was freezing due to no heat in the hallways. We stayed a few years ago and it has went downhill.
This hotel is the best. We stop here on the way to and from visiting family, and we are satisfied customers. The room is clean, the breakfast is good, and the price is right. Plus the staff is very nice.
Hotel is onvenient to Earlham College and a variety of shops and restaurants. It's very accessible to highway. Hotel very clean and updated. Staff professional and friendly. Bed was a bit soft for my taste, but my co-traveler loved it.
Our hotel rooms was nice and clean. The lobby and downstairs area smelled of moth balls. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast areas, were lacking in every area. The food was not good, and the rooms was in need of an upgrade.
Property not up to par. Needs paint and carpet cleaning! The breakfast room was spacious but the food was not good. Especially bad was the biscuits Nd gravy and sweet rolls. Coffee was good and cereal was fine.
This Best Western is great if you are using the airport. For us, it was close to the expressway which is why we chose it. The room was typical but larger than many and included an easy chair with a foot stool which we used. The carpeting did need to be replaced and the wooden furniture was a bit worn. Still, it was clean, had a decent breakfast, and was good for a night. We would stay here again if the price is right.
First of all, Parth at the front desk is AWESOME! His customer service skills and customer interaction was professional PERFECTION:) Our room came off clean:) Bed comfortable:) Plenty of hot shower water:) Breakfast is FREE and like most BW hotels, and thank you for providing it:) The ONLY thing I didn't like and never do, is the adjoining room doors, noise:( Would I visit again, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes:)
When I went to my room in the "A" pod, I was greeted with a hallway odor somewhere between musty janitor's closet and toilet backup. Had to cancel the room, which the desk clerk was helpful with. This does appear to be an older Best Western. The room itself looked OK but I'm not sure what's up with the corridor aroma. There are multiple other options for travelers in the general area.
Hotel is Extremely outdated. Needs a complete renovation. When we arrived to check in, the glass entrance was filthy. Didn't appear to have have been cleaned in weeks. Was given our room number wand was told to drive to back of building and take the stairs, no elevator. Once inside, an IMMEDIATE moldy/old smell just hit you in the face. It reminds you of on old apartment building, gloomy and smelly. Shower curtain falling off the wall. I understand you get what you pay for but this wasn't even worth that.
Great location just off the freeway. They offer a terrific complimentary breakfast. They're swimming pool is open until 11 PM but I didn't see it. This hotel was disappointing. It is outdated with sad, dreary colors scheme. Our room didn't have heat and it was very cold.
This was an overnight stay on our way home from visiting out-of-state friends. The hotel was functional; the room was nice, the bed was comfortable. It was nothing fancy, but it was adequate for our purposes.
I read the mixed reviews of this hotel and was torn between staying here and staying at Holiday Inn. When I checked in the person behind the desk Mr. Patel was nice. I did notice that the cloth furniture in the waiting room was worn down and older. I drove around the building to Door A to get to my room on the second floor. I don't believe that the building has an elevator so you have to walk up stairs. This would normally be fine but I had my elderly mother with me and this was hard for her. Once I got to the top of the second floor I noticed that there were two swastikas drawn in red marker on the marble tile the sticks out from underneath the door of the storage room. While I am sure the hotel staff probably didn't put those there I did not the symbols remained there during my 3 day stay and I saw the cleaning staff walk in and out of the room several times. I took pictures of the symbols in case someone needs to reference them. The hotel had a foul odor to it in the hallways and a lesser but still present smell in the halls. Its one of those things where if you work there you don't smell it but if you are visiting you pick up on it for the first time. When I got to my room there was a small label about the slot that you put the key card in that says "Push Up". I thought that meant that once I scanned the card that I needed to turn the handle down and lift up on the door because it sticks. After trying to get in the door for 5 minutes I asked the cleaning staff to help me. They tried to get in and failed several times before they realized they needed to lift the handle up towards the ceiling not down towards the floor when opening the door to get it to open. The label probably should read "Lift Up" not "Push Up" or maybe fix the door all together. It looked like several doors had this label on them so this must be their long term fix to the problem. When I opened the microwave door in the room the microwave actually turned on (like emitting the energy to cook food). That is completely unsafe! The toilet seemed to be extremely low to the ground and smaller than standard size. I am a thin guy and had a hard time fitting on the toilet properly. The toilet paper was the thinnest I have ever seen in my life. There was also no fan in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet bar WAS NICE and had plenty of options. MY BIGGEST ISSUE with the hotel is the pool. We specifically chose this location because they had a pool. I noticed when I first entered the room with the pool that it DID NOT smell like chlorine. I wish I would have taken that as a warning and walked right back out in that moment. My daughter jumped in the pool and within seconds said "Dad this smells like urine". I told her to get out and get in the hot tub to get it off her skin. After about 5 seconds in the hot tub she started crying uncontrollably saying that she felt like her skin was on fire. The water in the hot tub was bath water warm. I took her back to the room and told her to shower. Unfortunately that did not stop the burning. I spoke with the man at the front desk who assured me the PH levels in the water are tested daily and that he would leave a copy of the history with my checkout paperwork. The man was nice and apologized saying maybe my daughter had a skin reaction. Unfortunately he never left the PH level history with my checkout paperwork. I don't know if the pool or hot tub had a bad PH level or they both did but something was clearly wrong. My daughter swims in pools all the time and has never has this issue. Ultimately I had to take my daughter to St. Joe's hospital in Lexington at 11p that night to be seen because she was in such pain. The hospital said that the burning was likely the result of high levels of bacteria in the water and/or an improper PH level. I probably have a $1,000+ bill coming. In summary here, the property has the potential to be a nice place if they brought it up to 2019 standards and fixed the issue with the pool and hot tub. I recommend staying at the Holiday Inn where I feel like most if not all of these issues would have never happened. The pool always smells like chlorine at Holiday Inn.
Quick overnight on business. Every thing I wanted. Staff was friendly and efficient. Check in was fast, no hassles. Parking near room even though the place was full. Nice clean work out area, with good equipment. Breakfast was ok, I would stay here again alone or with family.
It was a nice place to stay, clean and we received good service. it was well located right off the interstate, i would have no problem recommending a stay here. The breakfast assortment was above average and good. The price was a little high for my taste.
The hotel itself was fine. Had an average stay. However, the woman working in the breakfast room was very racist & rude to another customer in front of everyone in the room. There was a woman with her grandson just watching this whole scene unfold..it was disgusting. I went to the front desk and complained but the woman I complained to, although very nice and apologetic made it sound like nothing would happen. I will never stay there again.
Great place to stay ! We stay at this hotel every time we go to Richmond . The staff is so friendly , the rooms are nice and clean and our grandkids love the indoor pool. The breakfast is awsome hot gravy and biscuits , eggs, sausage, waffles , fruit just about anything you would like to eat .
The toilet seat lid was broken and not attached, the toilet flapper leaked and the tank filled with water every few hours, the card reader at external door "B" entrance was cover in duck tape and the door was constantly unlocked, 3 external doors at the swimming pool building were propped open with rocks throughout the day, the room smelled like mold or water damage.
Staff is very nice and friendly, hotel conveniently located off of I 75 and easy to get too. Conveniently located in close proximity to many wonderful restaurants and strip malls to go shopping. Hotel itself has an early 90s feel to it and could use some modernization. Rooms are a bit on the small side, mattresses are a little bit stiff, and the desks are small and bathrooms could also use some updating. So if you're a business traveler and you need ample desk space to work, than you might want to reconsider. They have free buffet breakfasts with a wide variety of things to choose from and a nice common area to gather. All in all not bad, but you can probably get a bigger bang for your buck elsewhere.
Staff is horribly rude! Tried to talk to the owners and they would NOT talk to me. Breakfast is gross. My room had bugs, dirty, dark, smelled like mold. I've been here for couple of days and its horrible! Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Would not recommend to ANYONE!
The rooms were clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are a bit older and somewhat on the smaller size especially the bathroom but we had a good experience overall. They had a very nice workout room and the pool was refreshing and clean
Very close to many restaurants, East to get to..Pool and hot tub was great..Rooms were big and clean..Lobby and breakfast room was clean and very nice..Very nice staff..I Will stay there again..I was just on a short family vacation and his place made it very comfortable..
Excellent, clean, huge almost new pool, Superior breakfast. English American folks manning the front desk, excellent value, we would recommend this hotel to any or all who might be interested. All good. Stay here!
This became our home after 14 hours of road trip to our destination. It was great to know that they had an indoor pool with a hot tub, this was the cherry on the top for the kiddos and us the adults who were exhausted. Service was great and the rooms were very comfortable. It is close to a variety of different restaurants on walking distance for those who want to take a break of driving; and is very close to the main highways to continue on the Adventures.
It was a great place to stay. The stay is cheerfull and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and affordable. The pool was clean as well as the breakfast area. The breakfast bar was fresh and really good. I would tell anyone to stay here.
We stayed here on our way back from GA. Our other hotel was a nightmare in TN. (It was NOT a Best Western) The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The price was great, the rooms were clean as well as the pool area and lobby. It was close to walking distance to restaurants. The Mexican place was great. It was a pleasant surprise and a great price. I will definitely stay there again!!~!
Stayed here for one night. Was ok, plenty of parking and good breakfast. There is no elevator in this hotel if you end up on second floor. Short distance off of highway and next to a Cook Out burger place that looked pretty good but didn't have a chance to go. Well kept for the most part.
The breakfast area was nice, the food was good, and good variety. The pool area was nice. The only problem we had was room smelled musky and the cooling unit did not cool well the first night. When we got up the next am the carpet was all wet in front of unit. We called desk. Maintenance came. The unit cooled better but continued to get carpet wet.
I had a great visit at the Best Western, I used to stay at the Red Roof Inn but after the management changed, I no longer wanted to go there. I was pleased to see that this was a great hotel, great breakfast and just a little bit more money. We will be back!
This is an older property, and with that comes some mustiness. My room was very clean, though. Overall, this property is nothing special, but fine for a night. One good thing about an older property is that the walls aren't as thin as in new places. The bed mattress was broken down a bit in the middle where lots of people have gotten in and out of the bed, indicating that the mattresses haven't been replaced in a while. The breakfast room isn't big enough for peak weekend times. I had to go back later to get a table. It's right next to the interstate with lots of restaurants nearby. It's a two-story, and I saw no elevator. I was on the first floor, so that didn't matter to me, but be aware you may have to lug your things up stairs. I did have a very long walk to breakfast as my room was at the far end of the long hallway.
Stayed overnight here as part of a Kentucky road trip. The property was a little bit dated, but still clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included hot items and was definitely above par for other hotels in this price range.
Quick summary: very comfortable stay in a clean, quiet room with nice amenities. Good price value. Friendly, professional service. I base my evaluation on what I expect of a 3-star property. This is not the Ritz, but very good price/value. R #124 had two queen beds, very comfu mattresses, nice bed linens, many pillows. Very quiet room, even though the hotel seemed full. As with many BW locations (we belong to the loyalty program, and are generlaly happy with our stays,) there is a good chest of drawers and an open closet. Fridge and microwave. Coffee maker, iron/board. No in-room safe (most BW do not have this that I've been to recently. Good desk and outlets for charging you rdeivces. Complimentary wifi works well. Two sitting chairs. Nice tub/shower bathroom with good toileties, i.e. shmapoo, body lotion, shower cap, .. Spotless housekeeping. Very clean. Good complimentary breakfast as seems expected at BW's -- variety of breads & bakery, hot dishes of eggs and bacon, cereals, juice, make-your-own fresh waffles.... Also as usual, weak coffee and bagels that don't come from a good bagel place, but serviceable, and I don;t expect good bagels at most places outside of major metro areas. There is an indoor pool that looks good, and a fitness center. We did not partake as we were just passing through for the night. I can imagine that any family who wants to keep the kiddoes amused would like the pool. Contrary to another review's post, there are some non-chain dining options if you go into town, which is a good idea. So - a very good stop that lives up to Best Western good price-value standards. We'd be happy to stay here again.
Best Western Richmond Hotel was centrally located for attending the graduation of a friend at Eastern Kentucky University which was about a mile or so away. It is on the "main" strip Eastern Bypass and easy access to Route 75. Plenty of restaurants. Unfortunately they are all chain restaurants. This hotel had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, better than mine at home. It was remarkably quiet consideration its location along a busy road. It also had a nice pool/hot tub area. We were with friends and brought our drinks to the lobby a couple of nights to sit and social. The biggest drawback to this hotel is the left you have to take to get out of the parking lot. It is at a light and across from a gas station. People were not always forgiving of letting you out.
The room was a bit on the small end of the scale. But everything was clean and in good working order.Breakfast was maybe a little better than normal hotel fare. is located on a busy interception so there are lots of dining options. Including one right next door.
We usually stay at best Western plus properties, but ‘‘tis one was all that was available in Richmond. The room smelled either old, or had dog and/or cat in it worn a period of time. Just not clean smelling. Shower water was really hot, better than tepid or cold. Convenient to many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was ok, although gravy for the biscuits was as thick as pudding. I mentioned it to the person behind the counter, and her response was “I didn't make it”. Just a middle of the road property.
The price was great. Cheaper with trip advisor then any other discounts. Room was nice, quiet, peaceful sleep. Breakfast was a long buffet, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. By what we could tell it was a good neighborhood but still had the added security of (room) key card entrance from outside . Very nice place to stay, will book again
The location is great for travelers. It is right of the I75. There is gas stations and restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and well cared for. The bed is very comfortable. It was very quiet at night.
Very dim Light in bathroom, had to bring in additional lamp to see better. Lots of noise from parking lot motorcycle gang party, Kept us up until about 1am. No TV channel guide available. No news paper available.
Stay was nice. Some things need updating but it was overall not a bad place to stay. Bathroom, shower seemed to had been updated recently. Had a glass / tiled shower. It was nice. Pool area was nice as well as we did use the hot tub.
This hotel has a very convenient location right next to the interstate with plenty of dining (some with in walking distance) and shopping options. Huge pool, very clean and welcoming, decent fitness room and very friendly staff.
A clean, beautiful and safe place to stay!!ltravel by myself 21/2 hours to take care of my dad at an assisted living facility which is a wonderful place but need a place on a regular basis for me. THIS is it!! Safe & sound with the feeling of luxury.
Room was decent and clean had no issues until 2 am when heat went out then electric. Manager was rude went complained at check out then 3 days later they double charged my account and refused to refund the double charge or even discount the original price do all the maintance issues they had
We love this hotel. We've always typically stayed at higher end hotels...Marriott, Hyatt... This hotel meets all those standards and then some. The breakfast is amazing, so many choices, cereal, waffles, biscuits and gravy, fruit, milk, water, juice and the best waffles in the world!!
The hotel could use a little sprucing up, but the staff and the breakfast were amazing. Just proves you cant judge a book by its cover. Location is easy to get on and off the Highway, and you are on a main drag so food option are all over.
Meeting up with family in the area so we all stayed her for the night. Close to meeting location and price was right. Friendly staff and nice breakfast bar. Didn't have time to use any other amenities. Hotel could use updating but it was clean and bed was comfortable. Would stay again if in the area.
Stopped for the night going north from Florida. Hotel was clean, room was typical - comfortable, clean, but not too quiet. Property is right by I75 so you hear traffic noise from that side of building. It wasn't too bad and we slept well. We are vegan, so we didn't find much on breakfast bar that we would eat, but other folks seemed to be enjoying it. Staff was very pleasant. We left quite early so we didn't use any other amenities the hotel offered. Also, side door unlocks with room keys - very safe. Overall - good stay.
We have never stayed at a Best Western before but it will now be our first choice. The rooms were awesome and the amenities nice. Breakfast buffet was far beyond what I expected. Peter and Clay in the morning could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We were broken down on the freeway last night so this was an unplanned trip. They were so helpful; Peter even drove us to the car repair shop to pick up our vehicle when it was done. Five stars all the way around.
Really nice motel, beds were super comfortable. The front desk guy was super nice and we loved how big the breakfast bar was. Pool and fitness room was also nice. Only issue was we had no soap in our room like at most hotels.
very excellent place to stay. very friendly staff. After driving all day from Tampa I just was looking for a place to rest for the night. More room than I needed but with being a BW rewards member I recieved an upgrade at a fair price
Was an enjoyable experience would highly recommend stop by and stay if traveling through area breakfast was best I have experienced in any stay staff was awesome and rooms were nice and clean pool was clean and hot tub was nice
I booked this hotel because of a campus visit at Eastern Kentucky University we were attending the next day. Unfortunately for us, we didn't get into the area until 1 am. I had called the front desk before we finally left our home area, to alert them of the situation and that we'd be a late arrival; they were extremely accommodating. Even at the late hour we arrived, the front desk clerk was smiling and friendly. We quickly found our room - a little too hot to sleep in at first, but a quick adjustment of the heater/AC unit fixed that. The beds are very firm, but I think I was just so exhausted from almost nine hours of driving that I was asleep quickly. It wasn't until the morning we discovered the hotel has a pool and hot tub; I just wish we had had the time to check these amenities out for ourselves. As for the continental breakfast... look, I've had much, much worse. This was actually fairly decent (even if my 17-year-old ruined her waffle because she didn't spray the iron before pouring in the batter... live and learn). At no time did I feel that we were in an unsafe location, or that there were people around who perhaps didn't belong... though I found it odd we were able to get into the hotel by the back door without using our room keys. That door probably should have been locked. All in all, our stay was extremely brief, but served our purposes well. We paid a fair rate for a clean, comfortable room, and I would not hesitate staying there again!
Had a great stay and good night's sleep. The staff was very courteous and accommodating and our room was clean and comfortable. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is because I requested expedited check out and it was somehow overlooked.
Clean rooms horrible breakfast. Good location, friendly staff, would definitely recommend. Only complaint was the breakfast. It was not good at all. Lady working breakfast was very friendly and nice tho.
The rooms were clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of shopping and restaurants around hotel. Breakfast buffet had both hot and cold items with lots of choices.
To start, we traveled 6.5 hours for EKU graduation, got in at after 10pm, got in and showered finally laid down around 11:30 to find cockroaches when the lights dimmed. I took many pictures, went down to the lobby to show the man E.J, who was kind at the front desk. He confirmed they were cockroaches and noted the file and that we were leaving. We went down the road to the TRU Hilton( it was wonderful) in our PJs at 11:45pm wet hair and all. Mind you we had to be at graduation by 8am, and were tired( I had a child with me as well). When I called to get my refunded through Expedia they claim Clay, the manager had no record of this and stated we stayed there. I have photo evidence, which time stamps and location and my Hiton receipt and could obtain an affidavit from Hiton I'm sure along with security tape evidence of our check in, and yet Clay is still refusing my refund to Expedia, stating we stayed which his cameras and Hilton's can confirm we DID not. This is horrible customer service and an issue that if not rectified I will be bringing to the BBB
When I checked into the hotel, I noticed the next morning the bathroom was dirty. I complained, and did not get offered to change rooms. It was a Tuesday morning and the parking lot was empty. A couple nights later, I heard a woman say, “Someone please help me”. I entered back into the building and heard her say, “Stop, wait a minute”. I went to the front desk and brought him to the area where I heard the noise. No doors were knocked on to make sure everything was ok. Their cameras point to the back of the lot. After this incident, a few nights later there was a police man standing in front of another door. My daughter sent me on this trip as a surprise to see my grandson. Cooperate told me the only person I can talk to was Clay. Cooperate told me that Clay was the only one I can talk to. Clay doesn't talk, but told cooperate that he apologized to me many times. Which he did not, if you stay here and need help ask for Larry. I'm so surprised this is a best western hotel. We will not be staying here again. We have also warned family to not stay here as well.
Stopped to rest here as we were driving home to Michigan from Orlando. Service was great and the breakfast was wonderful. Right off the highway and easy to get to. Lots of restaurants, stores and gas stations nearby.
Had paid for 4 nights for family from out of town. They arrived around 10 pm and was given a room on the second floor but could not find an elevator. Room was supposed to have 2 queen beds but was 2 full sized beds. There was hair in the sheets of one bed and some trash under the bed. Room was also infested with ants. For some odd reason several rooms had bags of trash sitting just outside the room doors. Needless to say our guest checked out first thing in the morning and went to a better hotel. I was given a refund for the 3 nights not stayed. Very disappointed.
Stayed one night for a business trip in town. Room was clean, staff were friendly, easy to find right off the freeway, breakfast was a good variety of hot and cold items. The price was very reasonable as well. Highly recommend to anyone!
this exit has everything you need: shopping, food, gas and great hotels The king size bed was extremely comfortable!!! We left very early so didn't have breakfast at the hotel. Culver's is our favorite and there is one just down the road!
My daughter goes to EKU and wanted her little sister and I to come for a visit for a couple days so we stayed here for 2 nights. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Everyone we encountered were welcoming and very nice. The breakfast was way more than I expected. There was something for everyone, even the pickiest. It tasted good too. Sherry was the employee who made the food and was there if you needed anything else. She was so friendly and inviting. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, home fries, waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, and yogurt. They even had almond milk if you didn't want cow's milk. The service was amazing and the hot food was hot. The rates for the room were very reasonable too.
Even with many hotels to choose from, Best Western is the best, for not only the price but the cleanliness of the hotel and caring of the staff. It is an established hotel, but has been updated in both appearance, rooms, and services. I always stay here when traveling to Richmond for a craft show. Felt very safe in the parking lot and inside the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel, the price can not be beat for the excellent service.
Hotel conveniently located off the interstate. The room was ok for the night for us to rest as a mid way point on our trip. Bit of a musty smell and carpets looked pretty old and worn in the halls and our room. The hot breakfast bar was good with plenty of choices and nice big room to sit and enjoy a free breakfast. The indoor pool was large and clean and hot tub was nice and relaxing. Overall for the price we were satisfied.
This hotel is just off the exit from I-75. There is lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We arrived early for an event at EKU but could not check in until 3:00pm. No big deal, we just left our car and walked the one mile to Alumni Coliseum. The hotel could use a little refreshing but was good for the price and location and room was clean and bed comfortable. The showerhead in our bathroom was great for a hotel as was the water pressure. Bath amenities included make-up remover wipes as well as a shower cap. The breakfast was well beyond what we expected. Hot eggs, meats, buiscuts and gravy, fresh fruit and pastries and many more items available. Eating area was clean and inviting. Good, quiet stay.
Room was very clean, queen beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Full hot breakfast bar. Rates were very reasonable! Staff was courteous. Only complaint was no elevator and not enough parking spaces.
We stopped here for one night while traveling home. The lobby is a bit small and outdated, but the room was clean and fine. I did have the free breakfast here and it was your average free hotel breakfast; good enough for breakfast but nothing to brag about. Overall, this place is fine for a night and reasonable for the money, but it is my no means fancy or upscale.
Was on a motorcycle trip and decided to stop here for the night since I am a Best Western member. Very nice best western little dated but still nice. Staff was very nice service was great. The breakfast was very good. My room was also very nice. Glad I stop here.
The hotel is located conveniently off Interstate, the rooms were clean. The fitness is like a small gym and the pool in the largest you can find in a motel setting. Also its indoors. The desk was always manned and the people very courteous, helpful and neat in appearance. We will be travelling this route often and plan to stay again.
The rooms were clean, The fitness center needs an update but overall hotel was comfortable and staff was very friendly. Would stay there again if we are in the area. Also within walking distance of a Mexican restaurant that had excellent food
The room smelled musty and dirty; the pillows had a foul odor; half of the outlets did not work; there was no ventilation in the bathroom; and housekeeping did not clean our room when we left for the day - did not even come to the room!
We stayed here for a quick overnight. This exit has many different hotel choices. If we were in Richmond again, I would probably try a different hotel. PROS: Staff is SO friendly! I wish I had gotten names. The front desk clerk and the woman attending the breakfast were extremely friendly and helpful! The indoor pool area is HUGE and very clean. Would be a nice gathering spot to hang out with a larger group. The breakfast offering was large and good for a free breakfast! The lobby and breakfast area were updated and quite nice. CONS: Our room looked as if some updates had been made, but more are needed. It was so old and musty, I wasn't sure how clean it was. The hallway was very stuffy and musty.
It was a nice hotel the staff is very friendly. Rooms are nice. Location is great. Great breakfast. Clean rooms great The only problem is the bed sizes. We were on the first floor the beds are very small. We couldn't sleep in the same bed. If we were on the second floor the beds are bigger and also kings. But because the hotel doesn't have elevator and my wife doesn't do stairs because of her medical condition we had to have a first floor room. The rest of the stay was great
Good location just of the interstate. Gas and food close by. This is an older property with some updates but the age shows up here and there, i.e. the bathroom door wouldn't close because of excessive paint build up. Not a deal breaker. Parking is a little awkward especially if you have multiple bags or physically challenged. I was a little disappointed in the breakfast as the options were not great, not much to choose from, but I'm finding that to be the case at a lot of Best Westerns anymore.
Property was older but clean. Good Breakfast and a good value overall. Good location for travelers - right off freeway. Only a few minute from Eastern Kentucky University. Nice pool and Hot Tub area and and exercise facilities.
the location is easily accessible from the freeway, convenience store located in close proximity, room was fine, nothing outstanding. Only complaint was that the a/c unit fan would not run continuously when the unit was cooling. A/c cooling had to be shut off for the fan to run all the time.
I have seldom been disappointed with a stay at a Best Western property. The hotel at Richmond was clean, nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and efficient. The king size bed was heavenly after a long drive. The handicap bathroom was clean and well appointed. The included breakfast was your average fare. Good coffee, delicious waffle, but the eggs were meh. If I could have only taken a 1/4 point off for that, I would have! Everything was spotless. All in all a great stay.
We were traveling through Kentucky and needed a place to stay that wasn't too expensive, but clean. We found this Best Western and were hesitant. Our last stay in a Best Western a few years ago was not so pleasant. This one earned claps and kudos! It was clean, well "groomed", had friendly staff, updated linens, comfortable.beds, a surprising hot.breakfast buffet, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Even the sidewalks outside had been recently pressure washed, and the signs were current, and building well maintained and painted. Stairway carpet needed some cleaning, but everything else made up for it. Staff was friendly. They have a fairly large I door pool and a small fitness room. It is two floors, and there is not an elevator, so handicapped people need to know that when choosing a room. We would definitely stay here again. The price was right, and it exceeded our expectations.
This hotel is on the low end of things. It is older and a bit run down. I feel that the price is too high for what you get. The hallway was especially worn and smelled. The furniture in the rooms was old too. All in all it seemed to be clean and safe, but it just wasn't that great of a place. In my experience most BW's tend to be better than this location.
its ok hotel, for the price - 70$ was better than I expected. just off the highway. comfy beds, cable, good wi fi. funny thing we were given keys to building B by mistake we went to building A and the keys worked.
Beat Western is not fancy and has no elevators (huh). Rooms are for crashing at the end of long day. Staff are great compare to others motels. They tool my coupon with no hassle. Good location. The biggest surprise was the breakfast and selection. Best Western seem to place importance on their breakfast selection. My boss stayed down the road and he was shocked. Will return.
First off the front desk manager actually called my room once I checked in to see if everything was accommodating, this is the first time I've had a hotel actually ask me if everything was OK once I checked in. That impressed me the most along with a very clean room and the awesome breakfast, thank you.
Everything was good and clean. Breakfast was amazing!!! I would recommend this play to anyone. This place as a great indoor swimming pool and hot tub. They have a very nice fitness center. Something for the whole family to do!
This property had the best rate in the area, a comfortable clean room, & one of the better hot breakfast bars for the money. Check in was a breeze & the gentleman working the front desk that night was very nice. We would definitely stay here again.
The room was clean and comfy. The pool was nice and there was a jacuzzi. Hallway was a bit stuffy, but our room was fresh and cool. The breakfast included biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, potatoes, and waffles. It also included fresh fruit.
Another short stop night. The hotel has had renovation. The room paint and furniture were nice. Pillows were good and the bed was stiff! We love stiff/hard beds. If you want soft beds then don't stay here. We do!!!! The air conditioner was very good on a comparative basis. The bathroom and shower were good, clean with hot water. Unfortunately, the paint didn't cover the rust on the interior bathroom door hinges. Kind of a bummer, but the door worked. Another slightly loose toilet seat. A reminder, this is an older, two story hotel – no elevators. If you have trouble with stairs bear this in mind. Also remember that some ground floor rooms border the parking lot. There seem to be a lot of workmen staying here with diesel pick-up trucks. Many leave early………3:30 +am!!!! All in all a pretty good place to catch some winks before moving on at 5:30 am.
We were in town for our son's orientation at nearby EKU. When we arrived we were tired after many hours of driving and it was dark and raining. The men at the front desk welcomed us with smiles. At that moment, we knew we made the right choice. They got us an extra pillow and toiletries that we forgot in our haste and directed us to our room. The room was clean and the beds comfy. The continental breakfast was delish. The spread is much nicer than normal and there were many places to sit. The young lady working in the room was nice to speak to and she helped us maneuver around a bit as our hands were full. Mr. Shah at checkout was helpful too. We told him that we're definitely going to be staying here when going to EKU in the future. You won't be upset by staying here.
A quiet, convenient well maintained hotel with friendly staff. The rooms were beautifully appointed and well maintained. Conveniently located off of l 75 We would highly recommend staying at this hotel, I know we will.
We were very pleased with our recent stay. It was a very late night / early morning stop for us on the way back home. It was a quick and easy check in with a very clean inviting room and great breakfast. Beds were on the smaller side, but comfortable. Staff was very friendly. I feel like best western hotels can be a hit or miss, but this one was great!
We stayed at this hotel several times during the past few years when our son attended EKU. We have always been impressed with the hotel staff and the breakfast choices. Rooms and clean and comfortable. The hotel is located near the campus so it is convienent.
If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton this isn't the place for you, but if you are looking for a clean place to stay in the Richmond area check this one out. The indoor pool area was clean and looked well maintained with towels in the pool and hot tub area. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast area was busy but the food was at the appropriate temperatures and well stocked with a very nice variety of food options. Would definitely keep this in mind if I'm in the Richmond area and need a place to rest overnight.
We just returned from our annual golf trip to Richmond KY, and stayed at the Best Western for the 12th time. Our group enjoys this hotel for the amenities, the cleanliness , the friendliness of the staff and the proximity to everything we need in Richmond. Right from the moment you walk in the door, it feels relaxed and like every thing will be taken care of. Check in was quick and all rooms were ready upon our arrival. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious and very clean. The breakfast in the morning is a great way to start the day. Lots of choices to start the day. All staff were friendly and always said hello and were all smiling. Thank you to all staff for another successful trip. We will see you again next year.
Great location and easy to get to. There are many restaurants and shops near by, but still quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Eastern Kentucky University right up the road and a very nice campus.
This was a quick stop as we traveled to Florida. It is conveniently located. Check in & check out were easy. Room was clean & everything worked. Breakfast was fairly typical of Best Western. There were a few more hot items (like potatoes) than most. We did not have a chance to try the pool or fitness areas. Would stay here again on route to Florida.
Arrived early in the day and was accommodated to an early check in. Room was very nice and on the backside of the hotel. Very quiet even though there was a traveling school group. TV in room didn't work properly but since I was there on business I declined to move. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice and the entire hotel had a great overall look. Will definitely be staying here every time I am in this area.
This hotel is convenient to the I75 and food establishments. It is always clean and has been updated in recent years. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. Definitely excellent value for the money.
My two sons and I love Best Western Richmond. My 10 year old son calls it "our hotel". They love the pool, and I think the beds are so comfortable. The hotel is clean, and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
While traveling with my handicapped mother we found we needed to split our travel in to two days. The staff was very helpful in accommodating us with rooms next to each other and as close to the door as possible. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was presented very well and enjoyable.
Great hotel, helpful staff, comfortable bed, quite night, breakfast was good and quite a variety. Internet did not work very well. We have used the pool on previous stays but choose not to this time. Easy on and off I-75.
Friendly staff, welcoming and eager to help. Easy online booking, save money with coupons. Easy parking and rooms are all on first floor. Beds are comfortable and cable tv had the channels we like to watch.
This hotel was on the road during a two day driving trip. It was a convenient break point. After spending all day in the car, it was nice to receive a friendly greeting and clean rooms. I have stayed at this motel on a previous trip and made a point to arrange a stop at this Best Western.
Very close to highway, very nice staff, very nice pool and hot tub. GREAT BREAKFAST!! Rooms are very spacious with excellent flat screen televisions. Digital cable with a guide. All in all this a a great place to stay.
The hotel was very quiet. The room I stayed in was on the backside of the building away from the expressway and traffic noise. This is a college town and I expected it to be loud in the hotel. I was surprised. There are newer hotels close by but I'm sure they are more expensive. I was very happy with my stay and felt that it was a good value.
The place and staff were great but trying to turn on the closed caption on the TV was a mission. The breakfast was OK compare to other Best Western Hotel it could have been better. I will be staying again at this location again, hopefully somebody can help with the closed caption
I would have given a higher review but our bathroom was apparently never cleaned after prior guest. TP and what appeared to be snuff in toilet, used soap in tub, and long black hairs all over bathroom floor. No toiletries were in room and it lacked enough linens in the bathroom. The room itself appeared clean, the beds were a little hard. The heat/fan worked and had a fridge in room. Breakfast was nice, good varieties and fresh food. I was disappointed that no manager was on duty at check out to resolve issue with bathroom and I have to wait for a reply.
we always stay here in our travels from Myrtle beach to home. the people at check in are very friendly and greet you with a smile. the breakfast is alway good and also hot . this is why we spend the night here
Looking forward to staying at other Best Westerns and hope they are as good as this one in Richmond, Kentucky was since we've been enjoying the level of comfort and Wifi and breakfast and check out times. Would love to see the carpet a little more clean and some newer shower faucets, but otherwise clean and comfortable.
was very tired from traveling. Pulled into the parking lot and called to be sure there was vacancy. Was quoted a price over the phone but since I'd pulled it up on the computer, I noticed that the website quoted a significantly reduced price. I asked again but....was told that was the best price. Booked on the internet, went in and checked in. The bed was really firm but....the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! Actually, the breakfast made it worth the price we paid!
We attended our grandson's graduation from the police academy at Richmond. The hotel is off of I-75. It's a quick turn after exiting the interstate, but fairly easy access in and out to the main fairway to restaurants and shopping. A hot breakfast was available daily. Has a indoor pool and an exercise room. Very quiet halls. WiFi was a little slow, but didn't really pose a problem. The handicap accessible was quite adequate. Had no problems with check-in and check-out. A very pleasant stay!
This BW has updated the rooms and what a difference it made. Please remember that it is a 2-story without an elevator, but the staff is quick to accommodate a first floor room when needed. Very quiet in room despite the fast pace road and interstate around the property. A nice surprise to find a heated indoor pool, after a long car ride, it was perfect for getting the aches out. Yes, I will stay here again & would recommend this BW to all travelers.
I booked this room never having been to Richmond. We arrived in the evening on vacation. We were disappointed when we pulled into the parking lot. Very dated. We were afraid to let our child touch the floor and we tried not to. The bed, under the fitted sheet was hairy and dirty. Gross. The place is a dump. The ratings on trip advisor were misleading or out and out lies.
We love the Best Western Hotel in Richmond, we always stay here on our way to Florida!! Great service, clean rooms, friendly staff. If we have a concern with an amenity or the room, we are helped immediately. Nice to have a hot breakfast before continuing on our long trip south.
On the way home stop for the night. BW is a brand I trust to hold their properties to a certain level. The price was low so I did not expect more than I got. It was clean, comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Slept well and staff was friendly and helpful.
Like so many other reviewers we had a nice, clean room with comfortable queen mattresses. The breakfast assortment is large! We had scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and fruit. There are cereals, yogurt a waffle machine and assorted sweet rolls. The staff is friendly and helpful.
To be clear, this is a nice hotel and I will stay there again. I got a great night's sleep; the staff was friendly; and the very clean room was big. The price was reasonable and you can't go wrong staying here. Having said that, I was disappointed (hence a 4- rating) in the breakfast. When I was choosing, the breakfast received a high rating. I looked forward to something other than the dead sausage patties, over chopped up scrambled eggs, and bargain basement cheapy danishes I see at every other motel. I was definitely wrong. Granted the server was nice but that was the best part of the breakfast. The eggs had been stirred /chopped up so much I had to use a spoon to eat them. If you want cereal or a waffle, you'll be fine. If you want anything else you'll be disappointed. Even the coffee was cheap tasting. Again, I only bring it up for "truth in advertising". I will stay there again but skip the "breakfast". In fairness, this breakfast was typical of the chain motels. I should know by now not to expect much... Along with knowing the toilet height is great for a 10 year old but not an older person with arthritis.. But that's for another time's comments..
I always stay at Bestwestern hotels because of the quality of services, the many amenities, especially the breakfast, plus the rooms are spacious and clean. This is the first time I stayed at the Richmond Bestwestern, and I have to say that this one was the best one yet. Exceeded my expectations.
Hotel looks outdated and a little scary, but breakfast was really great and nice not to have to spend money on a breakfast for my kids. Variety was great. The hotel over all was really good just looked outdated and old. Some upgrades would be great. Bathrooms were also a little small.
Accommodating staff, clean and comfortable rooms that are isolated from noise outdoors or neighboring rooms, plus indoor pool and whirlpool. Continental breakfast quality and selection were better than most and served by hotel staff.
This hotel is awful. It is dated ..smelly ..dirty...stained sheets...hair in bed...I could go on and on and on...staff was very unhelpful. We travel a lot and have stayed in several hotels and this is by far one the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
This is an older Best Western but very well maintained and a friendly staff. Even though it sits on the interstate the rooms are quiet. Breakfast is very good in a roomy breakfast room. Hot entrees and of course waffles. Fast food is within walking distance.
Everything was perfect! I will come back next vacation. Room was immaculate. Customer service was the best. Loved the TV control cover meaning it was cleaned before we came. The breakfast was the best we have had on the road. CLEAN!
My son and I were traveling home and stayed here. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I used the pool, which was clean, and large! Very nice after a day of traveling. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel clerk was very courteous and kind. I would stay here again.
The staff at this hotel are great. Comfortable rooms, good bed, quiet, nice pool, excellent breakfast and the woman who oversees breakfast is fantastic. Location excellent, highly recommend. Ample parking, and staff are very accommodating. All day coffee is excellent quality.
If you need a place to stay over night or a vacation you must visit this motel breast is great always something for everyone. Pool ,hot tub is great gym is awesome you won't want to leave to have fun staff is great if you need anything just call they are happy to help. Our grandkids loved it all .we enjoyed the rest.
This is our second visit here and we will stay here again. We use this as a part way stop to South Carolina, to visit relatives. The location of this spot makes it very convenient to the interstate and there is a mall across the interstate if you need anything. The restaurants in the area are good as well.
BW has really stepped it up a notch. The Hotel is a little long in the tooth, but the recent renovations and upgrades really show, making this a very comfortable stay at a reasonable price. Staff was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Close to local restaurants, Downtown, the interstate and University. Prices are up but not unreasonably so.
We have stayed here twice. This is a good value, mid-priced range hotel. For us, the hotel ammenities are quite acceptable. Much room to enjoy hot and cold breakfast choices in dining area. Away from highway noise but easily accessible. Clean rooms that are in decent repair. Good senior's rate at 55 years.
We have stayed in several hotels over the past few years. The Best Western was one of the best. When we pass through Richmond, KY again, we will try to plan our journey so as to stay at this Best Western.
My husband and I have been to the Richmond, Kentucky Best Western a few times each year - we go to Richmond either to see our son OR as we are "passing through" on our way to Gatlinburg. This hotel has always gone out of their way to answer our questions and take care of any concerns or requests we have! They even offered us the use of their refrigerator when the one in our room wasn't working properly - that was nice! The hot breakfast is very nice and has a good variety of items - pastries, bagels, waffles to make, cereal, yogurt, cheese eggs, toast, fruit, etc. The beds are quite comfy!!! and the indoor pool area is AWESOME with chaise lounge chairs to relax in! Can't say enough - this will ALWAYS be our "go to" place in Richmond!!
Very comfy bed and heavenly pillows. Front desk person was great and people friendly, helpful. I was just passing through on my way home and wanted to rest. I was given a king room since there was just me instead of two queens. Good value for the money which was reduced to a reasonable amount. Always have a good stay at a Best Western!
I would wait until they do renovations. Room, hallway, and building smelled bad musty. Toilets clogged, carpet dirty, a general feeling of uncleanliness. Staff did all they could do with what they had to work with. Man at front desk gave us a new room in the morning so we could shower in the morning when our toilet clogged and they didn't have a way to fix it. Give them another chance once they do renovations because of the price.
Clean, comfortable, and folks that make you feel welcome. Easy access on and off freeway for travelers, close to the historic downtown for visitors - really a treat! The staff is helpful and the surrounded area is full of history and Kentucky bourbon!
Very nice hotel. Clean and friendly. We pulled in late at night, slept, ate a nice breakfast and headed down the road. We didn't use the pool, but it did look very nice! We would stay there again if we are in the area!
We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at this Best Western. Christopher at check in was very welcoming and helpful and made check in a breeze. The hotel pool was very clean and big! Very nice stay. Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again!
First night was perfect, second night a drip kept us awake but hotel staff was very apologetic. Could not sleep, checked out so early left before breakfast. They gave us water and granola bars for the road.
We have stayed at this hotel for the last 7 years on our way to a convention in Columbus - we have always had a great experience with the staff and all personnel - The hotel is conveniently located with all kinds of eateries and Gas nearby.
I came to Richmond, KY due to my sons baby deciding he would like to join this ole world a month early. After a long drive and an extremely long day at the hospital, Grandma was needing a nice quiet place to unwind and lay my head down to rest. I walked into a very pleasant atmosphere, was greeted by a polite warm gentleman at the front desk. Our check-in was quick and desk clerk was helpful. Our room was very clean and king size bed was a sight for sore eyes.
Desk reservation clerk was extremely helpful and considerate. We had driven from Orlando area to Richmond, Ky, in one day and we're exhausted. Excellent, courteous service. This young man will go far!
This is the 7th or 8th time our family istayed at this particular BW. This isn't the newest facility but it is always clean and the staff are always friendly. AND THE BREAKFAST!!!! It is always great. Special shout out to Ms. Sherry who was the breakfast attendant this morning.
Have stayed at this location 3 times recently on 2 separate trips with family. Very satisfied with this hotel. Check in was quick and efficient, pool area is nice and breakfast is good. Hotel location is easily accessible from I-75 and we enjoyed a good night sleep.
The Wifi is weak, had to sit on the floor by the entry door to get a signal. Small bathroom, dirty toilet, floor and counter top. There was no lotion in bathroom, only shampoo, shower cap and soap. Nice TV set, Fridge has freezer space. Fairly quiet room, comfy beds, nice large pool and hot tub area. We were on the 2nd. floor, stairs only, no elevator. Nice bright lite hall mirror area. Comfy A/C temp and not to noisy. But I had a very frustrating breakfast experience. The breakfast room area was very cold. They had 2 waffle making machines, I poured the mix into one, waited and waited for the timer to go off, found out that the machine wasn't even plugged in, what a mess it made. Then I used the other machine, and then when I went to use the syrup dispenser, it was not working right, the syrup dispenser was hard to reach, and wasn't working other then a trickle, so needless to say, my waffle was cold and hardly had any syrup on it. Then when I got my coffee fixed and tasted it, it was horrible, tasted burnt and weak. AND when I told the girl that was standing behind the buffet area counter about the room being cold, she did nothing. So I went out to report it to the front desk area, and told a employee, she did report it to maintenance man. NOT really sure if anything was done about it, when the maintenance man came in to the breakfast area, I heard him tell the girl behind the counter about the room being cold, she said that she was HOT !!!!
The hotel was wonderful. Clean rooms, close to my destination. Breakfast was great and hot food. There was two young men at customer service that was wonderful. Easy check out. The hotel was the best I have stayed in a long time.
For a so called handicapped accessible room, ours (#303) was OK. No walk-in shower or handheld shower head. The portable shower chair just barely fit in the tub. The bathroom was large enough but the room was cramped with a hard mattress king size bed, and desk with chair. The space around the bed and furniture was tight. It was clean except for the carpet that left a black bottom on my white socks after walking around. This is a two story hotel with NO elevator.
Great staff. Nice rooms. Nice clean pool and hot tub. I would highly recommend this place. Staff went above and beyond what they needed to do to make my stay a good one. Breakfast was nice with a lot of choices.
I stayed for one night with my two sons, ages 10 and 14. We really enjoyed our stay, and the kids loved the pool. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I will definitely choose to stay there again!
Although this Best Western was clean and quiet, it didn't measure up to other Best Westerns or similarly priced hotels where we'd recently stayed. Overall, the staff was unprofessional ( ie woman clerk and two others were outside smoking in front of the main entrance about five minutes before we checked in) and not very welcoming or helpful. No washer/dryer for guest use. No information notebook or TV channel sheet in our room. Bathroom: no bathmat and problem with tub draining. Hot breakfast was good served by a friendly young woman. I did write a similar review directly to this hotel and Melissa, the manager, offered us a 30% discount for our next stay there. I doubt it.
Stop over enroute on vacation. Location very good and many restaurants in the area to choose from. No problems with this hotel. Room clean. However, all hotels need to upgrade to remove carpet and bedspreads. Appreciated the TV remote cover. Breakfast was very good.
Bed was very comfortable. Room was spacious. Everything was clean and in good working order. We felt safe. Close to many choices of restaurants. I just wish there had been an elevator. We only had to go up one flight of steps, but we were tired from a lot of traveling.
Staff was very helpful from the time checked in to the time we checked out. We had small children and very was very helpful with getting them in the room I'm glad that we were able to get a room on the first floor
This hotel has the friendliest staff that keeps the cleanest hotel ever. The breakfast was presented in the classiest of presentations and the beds were the most comfortable beds you ever slept in. Check in was swift and easy and check out was a breeze.
The rooms were nice the staff was too. There was a nice hot breakfast with lots of choices. Clay did a good job keepimg the food items filled. The indoor pool was large and very clean. We enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.
We checked in late on our way to home (Atlanta) from Ohio. It was raining and we were very tired. The front desk staff was very accommodating and professional!!! Their Breakfast was very very good and much more than we expected. Thanks to their wonderful staff.
I thought for the price you pay the rooms are good. I did like that it was clean and seemed well maintained. They do need to improve there wifi. I couldn't pick it up. Overall it was a good stay the rooms could've been bigger but for the price I can't complain. It was very clean and I didn't have any real issues.
Needed a room while traveling through the area. This hotel was conveniently located and served the purpose after driving all day through storms. Staff was very pleasant at check in and beds were comfortable. We did not get up early enough for breakfast so I can't comment on that.
We stayed 1 night while heading back to FL. Our room was as defined in hotel listing. Clean, nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Breakfast was good with hot menu items. Breakfast server was friendly & accomodating. Liked the big breakfast room which was clean & tidy. Unfortunately, the outside sidewalks are torn up which made some of the doors inaccessible and also affected available parking spots. Although our room was quiet, it took quite a bit of maneuvering to get our bags up 12 stairs since the hotel does not have an elevator. Getting ice required quite a hike!
Great place to stay and a great careing staff, but, a better breakfast selection vould be had for us early risers ,best western should step up, very close to many restaurants ,easy on and off the freeway
We were very pleased with the size and cleanliness of our room. We had a long day of travel and this was a nice, comfy surprise. We also enjoyed our breakfast the next morning. Very convenient to the highway.
great location, very convenient. even if it's close to the freeway it's not noisy at all. clean. good value for the money. they have free breakfast buffet but we had dog hours and where not able to take advantage of that!!
This hotel was right off the interstate. The breakfast area was roomy. The breakfast ladies were super nice. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was small. Great location for events at Eastern Kentucky University.
The hotel staff and amenities were great. The room was large enough to enjoy watching tv and very clean. The hot breakfast had many items to choose from. A great stopping place to visit Berea Kentucky
Pillows and bed were very comfortable. The front desk clerk recommended a great Chinese restaurant that delivered. The hotel was clean and quiet. We would recommend this hotel to others. The value of the stay was excellent and affordable.
This Place should be called the Super Best Western because the staff were super nice, the accommodations were super nice the amenities were super nice, just an all over great place to stay. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this Best Western location during the state Special Olympics competition. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful during our stay. The breakfast was excellent, our only complaint was the slowness of the internet service which could be attributed to several people staying at the location.
Hotel is an older property and is not impressive looking from the outside. But it was great place to stay the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean even in the places that most hotels tend to miss when cleaning. Both of us have bad backs and the beds were great. And to top it off the BREAKFAST WAS GREAT a wide variety of food and drinks. We highly recommend this location.
Was a great hotel to stay at. Room was spacious and the Pool are was well equipped. The breakfast was good and hot. We had a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a good place to stay. Was very reseasonable too
I work and pass through the area quite a bit and always choose this hotel to stay at. EJ at the front desk is the absolute best. Lots of police (traveling to the nearby academy in assuming by the various marked police cars from all over the state of Kentucky) and construction/road crew/contractor workers seem to stay here. There are families as well. The indoor pool is fantastic, along with breakfast! My only complaint is that the parking situation is a bit of a nightmare at night so be prepared to walk (the hotel has adequately parking, people here just seem to park very VERY crooked and take up two to five spaces (trailers) so that you can't park next to them and it eats up available parking. The place is right off of the highway and within a quarter of a mile of anything you could need (Meijer, pharmacy, fast food, restaurants, a bit of shopping, and a Starbucks).
Hotel was very nice. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was very good and hot. Location was easy to find.Would use this hotel on future trips to Chattanooga, Tn. Would also recommend to others.Good value for the price.
We stayed here on our way home from Georgia. Nice, clean facility. Beautiful indoor pool and whirlpool area that may be a new building addition. The guest breakfast was terrific - cafeteria style with the hot food served up by a staff person. Friendly manager gave a good recommendation for dinner. Easily accessible off I-75.
I needed a room to rest and try to sleep so I could continue my drive home. That is what I got. The staff was friendly enough. The room ac/heater unit was noisy even on low. The hallways were quiet that was good
Best Western in Richmond KY was clean, attractive, and the staff was courteous and friendly. Very happy with my stay. They offered an indoor pool which we used and we also utilized the complimentary breakfast one morning.
Our second time staying here and still the same. Clean and well maintained. All of the usual amenities and a decent breakfast included in the price. Nice people and located right off the highway at an exit where you can find "Absolutely Everything". No matter what store or restaurant you enjoy, you will find it here.
Moved from another hotel in town which was not suitable at all. A bit noisy when we arrived. A very extensive hot served breakfast before we left. Hotel staff were helpful and the hotel was very easily accesses fro I75
Quick check in/out procedures. Close to many restaurants. Easy access to interstate. Staff friendly and breakfast was hot and fresh. Easy parking close to rooms. Had a problem with room keys not working just had to have them rescanned a couple times.
This BW is just off the Interstate next to a CookOut and near a lot of other typical restaurants. It was quiet and felt safe; room large size with comfortable beds, refrigerator [without freezer] and everything worked well. Staff extremely friendly both day and evening. Breakfast was typical BW fare, with many options [hot and cold] PLUS almond milk choices, fresh, attended to well. Only thing to keep in mind, it is two floors without an elevator. I had not requested a first floor room but we had limited luggage so was not too bad. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel was extremely clean and the front desk very accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the rooms have access to WiFi, microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom was fully stocked with everything you might need. Plenty of fluffy white towels, great shower and tub. There is a delicious hot breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am in the morning with various juices, sausage, eggs, cereal, rolls, waffles, etc. There are restaurants nearby and a beautiful shopping Mall across the highway with a Steinmart and Marshalls.
This place was reasonably priced and we generally like best westerns so we stayed here. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The room was simple but comfortable. BUT the breakfast was PHENOMENAL! It is a motel buffet breakfast but the best I have ever seen. They offered soy milk, almond milk and coconut milk as options. I've never seen this. I need soy milk so I was ecstatic. The hot options were sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage and waffles. They had fruit, several cereals, breads and yogurts plus coffee, milk, juices. There were 2 staff people serving you. The pool and tub area are pretty big and nice for kids and adults. They are indoors. We will be back when traveling through.
The location of this hotel was very convenience and the room was clean and enough space. The breakfast was good enough for anyone, just no fruits. i will stay in this hotel on my way back home. It would be perfect if the price is a little less, as i am very frugal.
I stayed at this Best Western on the way to see friends in South Carolina and was impressed in every way. Reception at 10:30 pm was quiet but friendly and efficient. I was a little wary of what was in store as I entered the outside entry. It was old and worn looking and the door to the hallway creaked upon closing and then banged shut. So much for being quiet and not disturbing other guest. The hallway carpet was a little dated, but it was clean and well lit. The room was impressive. There was a very comfortable king bed, desk, easy chair, ample dresser and 50 inch newer tv. Wi-fi was easily accessed and the signal was strong. Each lamp had 2 electrical outlets for charging devices...Nice for the business traveler who would need to do some work from their room before retiring... The bathroom was also a little dated, but spotless, provided hot water with only a little wait, and had drains that flowed freely. I woke rested and ready to go the next morning. I didn't have a chance to use the pool or exercise center. However, both looked well maintained and the exercise center had a good selection of modern looking equipment. Breakfast the next morning was very satisfactory. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, etc. The steam table was well lit, clean and inviting and there was staff present keeping food stocked and cleaning as needed. They all were smiling and friendly. The coffee was really weak, but there's a Starbucks across the interchange that I was in and out of fairly quickly. So, if you are looking for a place to stay overnight, or even a couple of days, the $94 rate was very reasonable for what I would characterize as one of my better motel encounterss.
We have been going to Richmond Kentucky for the last 14 years as our golfing trip. We have stayed at the Best Western for 12 of those years. The hotel is always clean, staff is always very pleasant and helpful and rooms are always prepared on time. The breakfast offered in the morning is a perfect way to start the day and has a great variety of food to get you going. The pool area is clean and the hot tub is a nice way to end the day. The hotel is close to restaurants, shops and has easy access to I-75. If you are staying for 1 night or multiple nights, this is a great hotel worth checking in to.
What you expect and hope for in a one night stay on to your destination. Nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. Seasonal rates were up in March, AARP $112 for King bed. We left early in the morning and were not hungry but the included breakfast looked good.
My husband and I had a great sleep! Bed and pillows were both comfy. Room was clean and hot breakfast in a.m. was same hot breakfast as other hotels we stayed in. Lots of stores and restaurants to visit in this area. Would definitely stay here again.
We ended up here because everything was sold out and they had a last minute cancellation. We usually stay at a holiday inn express or one of the choice hotels. I haven't stayed at a best western in years. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean even the bathroom. beds were comfortable. They served a hot breakfast scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, gravy and biscuits. Staff was friendly. Full price was 85.00 for room with 2 beds on a Saturday. They also offer coupon discounts.
This hotel needs refurbishing. Very old and worn. Rooms are run down. Bathroom is super small. Really only room for one person at a time. Great location off I-75. Staff is vey friendly, courteous, and helpful. Good breakfast buffet - they served, which we liked.
One of the things that can make a place great is the staff. This hotel has outstanding people. Our room was not ready when we arrived because of their being short of cleaning staff. The desk clerk set us up in the lobby lounge with drinks and snacks as well as adjusting the TV to a channel I wanted to watch while we had to wait. She checked every now and then to make sure we were comfortable. Then the next morning at the hotel breakfast, the woman was accommodating. She was friendly serving the very good hot choices and keeping the dinning room clean. Yes the rooms are clean and comfortable, but it was the people who will make us choose this hotel when we are in the area again.
Room, breakfast, and especially service were excellent. Clean with updated touches. Kim at the front desk was very helpful, and the staff at breakfast were amazing. Only complaint is that there is no bathroom at the pool area.
While the decor is somewhat dated, the hotel was very clean with comfortable beds. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The rates are modest for a hotel along a major interstate highway.
Checked in, service was exceptional. Got to the room to find the bathroom dirty, floors not evwn vacuumed. The only thing clean was the bed sheets. The beds were horrible, woke with horrible back ache. We couldn't switch rooms and everyone was booked :(
This was one of those much better than expected experiences. For once everything, and I mean everything, was better than expected. The people, the building and facilities and the food. And I am not usually that easy to please.
worse hotel I've stayed in. At check in the guy at the front desk George down grades us and treated us like we wasn't worthy of staying there. Our sheets in our room was stained and had hair on them and we was told there was no housekeepers and they was full so there was nothing they could do. And to beat all next morning at breakfast we was trying to enjoy our breakfast and we look over the lady in breakfast Jodi was picking her nose and didn't wash her hands before handling the food we just got disgusted and left we will never be back there and we will never recommend anyone to stay there
Very nice hotel, would recommend to others. I am very particular about my hotel room being clean (because of a health issue) and comfortable, this was all of that compared to other hotels on our trip. I also feel that a good hot breakfast is important, too. This hotel was also secure; a great plus.We will return to this hotel if in the area ever again with no question. I am a good inspector and fee I am fare in grading hotels during my travels.
We stayed here last night after driving up from South Carolina. Looking for reasonably priced place with good reviews, close to I-75, hot tub and free hot breakfast. This is not easy to find but this hotel met all those requirements and more. Easy access to I-75, plenty of parking. Kim at the desk was very friendly and helpful (suggested Sonny's when I asked for a good BBQ place and she was right on the money). The pool area was deserted and the hot tub was deliciously hot. I would like to see more action with the jets, there were barely any bubbles - but it still felt wonderful. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We really appreciate when there is a refrigerator included in the room, so our soft drinks are nice and cold when we take off in the morning. The breakfast bar was plentiful and the food hot. We will definitely make this our go-to place on future trips.
This is a great hotel. I've always been pleased with Best Western hotels. I was surprised with the quality of this hotel in particular because the price is so low! Breakfast was awesome- great for kids- and the room was terrific. The entire hotel was really a great bargain! And- you're near gas stations, shopping, restaurants. Great location!
The only thing was we could not check into our room when we were ready to but otherwise everything was fine. We had to come back later to check in. But the room was nice and clean. Coffee was hot in the lobby
This hotel was in a great location next to a variety of restaurants and stores. It was clean and had a nice pool and hot tub, The breakfast had many choice for the whole family to choose. My family enjoyed this hotel
The location was very easy for traveling because it was not a great distance to get back on the interstate. There were restaurants and gas available right in the same area. The property was very clean and well kept.
This is a great hotel, the staff was wonderful, the room was comfortable and clean. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We were on a 2500 mile road trip and this stop was excellent. I would stay here again .
Very nice Hotel with friendly professional staff. Ground and surrounding were fine. Nice pool and spa. Nice selection for breakfast. Easy access to highways and restaurants. Beds were comfortable. Thank you.
This Best Western is in serious need of an upgrade. Our first room was so moldy/musty smelling that we could not stay in it. Fortunately, the manager did juggle reservations and allow us to switch rooms. No odor in new room but a/c unit still worked poorly. Toilet had not been cleaned and contained fecal matter upon arrival. Hotel was quiet and convenient to I-75 and EKU.
The service I received from the staff was very good, they were polite and helpful. However, the outer appearance and the rooms need to be updated and the cleanliness did fall below my expectations. Not the best place I've stayed but not the worst either.
Enjoyed the stay. Just stayed one night. The front desk was very nice, very helpful. To me the bathroom needs the light to be a little bit brighter. The breakfast was good a lot of variety that we all little. The price was right. The next time I am going that way I will stay there
The hotel looked a bit old on the outside, but the room was very clean and spacious. The front desk staff were very pleasant and interacted with guests very well. The indoor pool was good sized with a nice hot tub. We stayed here on our way home from Virginia. A pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I'm in the area over night.
The hotel is not new, but well maintained, breakfast was excellent for a BW. Lots of choices, and eggs were actually scrambled, not just the frozen "patty" variety. Unfortunately, shower did not drain well which made what was an very good stay just average. For the price it is a good value.
This was one of the older Best Westerns we stayed at but was very well maintained. The rooms are easy to get to. The rooms were a little smaller than at the other Best Westerns we stayed at. But the room was comfortable and clean. The number of cars in the parking lot indicated that it was a very busy place. For all that, it was very quiet. Of all the hotel/motels we stayed at during our vacation, this one had the fall superior breakfast of them all. They served a wide variety of foods for breakfast that were well prepared.
This Hotel is well worth the price. It is an older building but that does not matter to me. I look for Cleanliness and good Customer Service. I received both at this Hotel. We stayed there on our Trip down South and stayed again, on our trip back home. We will use this as our hotel when we travel to Georgia from time to time. It is right off the expressway and we loved having a full breakfast buffet the next morning. Well worth the price.
This hotel has been renovated making it a future stop for us. The rooms were nice and clean, the hotel property was clean, the pool looks great (we will be bringing the grand kids), and the breakfast buffet was really nice. If you're looking for a place to stay in the area, for a reasonable price, this is the place. Bonus.....there is a Cookout restaurant next door, it's fast food at a reasonable price with GREAT SHAKES!! Chocolate please...
Great hotel, great breakfast, I would go back. Room was great. The only thing I can say is the hallway could have been a little bit cleaner but we arrived late around 6:00pm and there were alot of people there. The pool was great very large. Great whirlpool.
We stopped here on our way to Daniel Boone National Forest. It was conveniently located, clean, and it provided some well-needed rest. Since we were only staying one night, we didn't take advantage of any of the hotel's amenities.
Hotel was fabulous, staff was very nice. Breakfast was delicious, open till 10 on weekends and have 2 servers that are very helpful. fresh fruit. pool for girls was fun and hot tub was good and hot. just a rally great horseshoe fun weekend. Special rate available for the event stayers Lake Reba was extravagant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We stayed two nights. really nice place to stay big pool and very friendly staff. Kim in the dinning area was so nice and helpful. the rooms were nice and clean. For a older BW it really was very clean. Would definitely stay here again
Large clean room. Beds and pillows very comfortable. A/C could have been a tad bit cooler. Great country breakfast (fried apples would add to that country feel), good coffee and all in all a nice variety.
Extremely satisfied with all aspects of this stay, from check - in to check - out all staff were very helpful and professional. Would not change anything not sure what the music and very busy parking lot was about but did not hear a thing once inside would recommend Best Western to every one that passes by.
Room seemed clean. Bathroom had a very strange smell that we couldn't figure out what it was. But it wasn't good. I didn't see any mold or dirt though. Room was okay for the price. Not sure we would stay again. Hotel is dated and could use some updates. Refrigerator was nice and cold which is unusual but a pleasant surprise. Continental breakfast was very good. I
This Best Western is clean and comfortable with a very friendly and courteous staff. The bed was extremely comfortable and room was attractively decorated. The room price includes an all-you-can-eat breakfast consisting of eggs and sausages, biscuits and gravy, waffles, fresh fruit and more - served by a friendly and helpful serving staff.
We stayed here bringing my don to college. This hotel is old no elevators. Dirty room and Internet real slow . I got up at 2 am to use the barroom. On flushing the toilet I discovered the room had no water. I called the front desk and was told this happens every night due to maintence on the water line so therefore you could not flush the toilet. Wow talk about not sanitary. In the morning about 730 am I went down to eat. I was told any hot food needed to be microwaved since the lady in charge forgot to light the warming burners. What a disaster. This hotel is old no caring attitude by employees and very slow internet. The Internet was so slow we used our phones as a hot spot. Stay away from this hotel even if you have to drive 20 miles further north.
If you are visiting eastern Kentucky university this hotel is for you. It is almost across the street. We used points, so our stay was free, but the rates were competitive with all the other hotels in the area. It was very clean, good free breakfast and easy access off freeway. There are many restaurants and fast food chains nearby so finding somewhere for dinner was not an issue. I would stay there again.
We chose this hotel from reviews on Trip Advisor. While driving back home. All of the reviews commented they were impressed with how clean the hotel, helpful staff, and a very good breakfast. We found this to be true. While checking out, Cindy asked us if there was anything that wasn't working properly. Who better to know, than people who just used the room. Great experience. You won't be disappointed.
Great staff, but, I wish there was a way to get a little more than a grab and go for us early risers.or perhaps a light dinnerbar.the pool and all the areas are clean.its very close to many restaurants.
Been staying here for years. No bid frills but a clean room great service. Only complaint in leaving the parking lot on busy days due to a bad intersection. Other than, that I totally reccomend this motel
Clean hotel. Very Friendly staff. Big hotel but there is Easy access to rooms with luggage. Slept well. Breakfast was good. Lots of choices. Easy access off 75. Would stay here again. My daughter was impressed that they had Pantene shampoo and conditioner. Lol
This appears to be an older facility but is pretty well maintained. The staff was very helpful. When we found that there was no remote for the TV, a quick call to the desk had a nice lady from Housekeeping there in just a couple of minutes with a controller. Unfortunately, the microwave was on its last legs and there were a couple of other very minor issues. However on the plus side, there was a hot breakfast with fresh fruit and a very cheerful attendant. Overall, we felt it was a good value and would happily stay there again.,
This was an awesome stay. Front desk was very helpful and took care of our needs. Within walking distance to about 5 restaurants. Quiet comfortable room. Very nice bed. We stayed at the Crown Plaza in Atlanta and this room was 95% as good as that room for half the cost!
Our room was very clean. Missie working the front desk was very accommodating. The continental breakfast was excellent. It was a buffet with eggs, sausage, hash browns and more. This is right off the interstate - great rates and friendly staff.
Excellent hotel, very good value for money. Lobby very nice, roomy. Well maintained. Room was very clean, well appointed, and with a mini-fridge and microwave. Room large and beds were firm. Breakfast was very good, with plenty tables and chairs to sit.
Started with a great price.friendly staff. Got to the room everything was clean .large HD TV with free on demand .bathroom clean and since I am 6ft 2 .high shower head didn't have to duck.pool and hot tub area clean.then to top it off hot breakfast .eggs, sausage, gravy potatoes and waffles. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming through richmond, kentucky
Stayed here for a quick overnight on our way through. We had made reservations and had two rooms. We became a little concerned at check-in when we learned the hotel was all booked up with Little League, but had absolutely no problems. Room was clean and quiet. We had rooms on the back of the hotel by the interstate and could hear none of the traffic.
I very much enjoyed my stay ,it was very clean, and quite. the front desk people was very nice. would tell anyone to stay at this Best Western . Enjoyed the stay. When arrived at the hotel the children wanted to see the pool . Took them to them room the water was alittle cold but over all the kids loved the pool.
My high school reunion was held at this motel. The motel held rooms for the returning grads and provided a great facility. Everyone was exceedingly pleased. The only negative was the fact that a Little League baseball tournament was being held that weekend. The parents of these kids had absolutely no control over their kids nor respect for the motel or the other customers.
Very good hotel. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast bar is outstanding. Lots of nice shops in the area. Would stay there again. The room was nice had a king bed and ice box micro wave. The building was nice and clean
Stayed here overnight with kids and grandkids. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool was really nice-bigger than expected. Only negative was ac didn't work in room and too tired to switch rooms. Advised staff upon checkout and they apologized and put the room on their list for repair. Will definitely stay here again
Nice spot for the family to rest 1 night during a long trip on I75. Saved a lot of time here because it has a very nice breakfast included and has quick and easy access to I75. Clean room, indoor pool, breakfast area. Coffee, tea and cocoa was always available in the lobby. Front Desk staff and Breakfast attendant very very nice.
great hotel for the price and a hot breakfast Missie and Kimmie at the front desk were so friendly room was neat and clean with no bleach or excessive chemicals very quiet and the bed was pretty good nice places to eat and shop nearby
Stopped at this hotel on a whim due to last second deal online. Room was great, sizable for 2 adults and 2 teens. breakfast in the morning was fantastic, the largest dining room out of all the hotels so far this year (10 different ones) with the best selection and quality of all the ones we have been to. The ladies running the service were super and a joy to chat with as was the size of the eating area, plenty of room to spread out in.
Had a great time with grandkids this hotel is very kid friendly . We had fun swimming in a good clean pool and they have a wonderful breakfast as added bonus. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Every time I visit Richmond KY this is where I stay. The hot tub was out of order but they had it posted on their web site before I booked with them. They have indoor pool, A nice fitness center. Easy access from interstate. Everyone very friendly.
The hotel needs to be updated and it has an old musky smell. The breakfast was hard and tasted hold. The outside needs to be updated as well. The location is fine but it is difficult to get in and out of as well.
Motel is right at the exit from the Interstate and close to nice places to eat and gas for the car. We wanted a quiet supper, no fast food. Lady at the desk had several excellent suggestions at the up-scale mall that was within sight of her window.
The experience of our stay was very pleasant, the staff and service was excellent. The breakfast and variety of food was all one could ask for. We would recommend it to our friends that may be passing that way.
This was him Hotel experience for her family we travel to the hotel from Atlanta Georgia on a trip headed to New York City we stayed on departure trip as well as our return trip from New York City the facility was clean modern up-to-date staff was friendly and cooperative and gracious the breakfast service with clean and prompt and opened at 6:30 sharp the gym facilities were at 4 facility the Panthers staff was orderly and helpful I would highly recommend this ility to anyone looking for a reasonably priced excellent quality up-to-date Modern Hotel experience
We often stay at BW and this one is right off the interstate in Richmond, KY. The rooms are a great value, pleasant staff, and the breakfast area has a single devoted employee to serve the eggs, sausage, etc and keep the place looking very clean and pleasant.
They were painting the interior of the hotel, and you could smell the paint. the room was a little run down, but the bed was really comfortable. Staff was helpful and excellent. Professional and very helpful.
The experience of our stay was very pleasant, the staff and service was excellent. The breakfast and variety of food was all one could ask for. We would recommend it to our friends that may be passing that way.
This hotel has nice clean rooms. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They had a awesome breakfast with gravy and biscuits, sausage and eggs and a whole lot more. I will stay here again in the future.
I would recommend this hotel for a safe, comfortable place to stay the night. The staff are darlings and really treat you as if you matter, which is nice. The beds were good quality, on the firm side, which isn't to my liking but I'm sure fans of firm mattresses will love them. The room was clean and it was very nice. I would most certainly stay there again.
Checked in later in the evening, front desk staff (wish I could remember her name) courteous, had a great sense of humor, knowledgeable. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay at a Best Western again!
We really enjoyed our visit to Kentucky and the hotel was part of the enjoyment. We travel with two cats and pet friendly hotels are important to us. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was good. I'm sorry but I can't think of anything more to say and requiring 200 characters to file a review makes me want to not bother reviewing anything ever again.
The hotel was cleansed roomy and the staff was very friendly. Great rates too The breakfast was one of the best we have ever experienced-way more choices than most continental breakfasts. Will return.
one of the worst hotels we have stayed at we spent over 6 days traveling and this was one of the worst hotels we stopped at the room was nasty smelling the shower was dirty the internet didnt work correctly the pool was closed the ice machine was broken
Me and my wife and 2 granddaughters stayed for 1 night and it was very good. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. It had easy access on and off the interstate. The hotel was very close to places to eat,
Made reservation by phone, great price . Hotel was right off the exit Check in went smoothly. Room was great very quiet. Breakfast was good. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from. Would stay there again.
Older hotel but great upgrades to room and amenities. Staff handled all our needs quickly and without reservation. Busy parking lot and road area but the rooms were extremely quiet and spacious. Would stay again.
Nothing exceptional about this, hotel, but was clean and average. Only one complaint...no ice machine. One was broken and the other was empty. Fortunately, we had a cooler with us so we were able to go buy a bag of ice to use while there. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful.
The pool has been "under repair" for several months. Have stayed here several times over last several years always a pleasant experience. Free breakfast is ok--could be a little more variety and better quality eggs.
I travel to and from Florida every year. This is the only hotel I always stay at. Their employees are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean, and the bed is comfortable. They have a complete hotel breakfast that covers all bases. The cable television has been upgraded and is the best I have ever had at a hotel. It includes an on demand feature which I have never had before.
Teejay was an amazing customer service rep.! He told us excellent places to go and was very welcoming! The hotel was very clean and had a great location. The room was just what we were looking for during a night away! We had a great time with this hotel and would recommend to anyone!!
Stopped at this motel on trip home to Michigan from Florida, nice, clean with restaurants close buy. We are best western rewards card holders so we really enjoy staying in one when available. Enjoyed the breakfast nook, everything was clean and food was warm and tasty, coffee was exceptional. The front desk representative was friendly and suggested a couple restaurants to go to for dinner, we took her advise and enjoyed one that she suggested. Definitely will use this best western again!
We love staying at this BW! It is in a college town so it is a lively place to be! Plus for us, we feel like family here because my wife's Grandfather was a teacher at EKU and there is family history here.
We got there late, but they were waiting for us. The check in procedure was quick. The room was clean and quiet. I liked the extra security of having to use a card to get in the building, and again to get in the room. Breakfast was good, and lady in the breakfast area was very helpful. My husband said the biscuits and gravy was good.
Driving home to Canada this was our half way point stop over for the night. My husband had just driven 14 hours straight and was exhausted. Last year we stopped over here and everything was booked due to a horse show. And wouldn't you know it, the horse show was on again. No rooms to be had any where. Thankfully Matthew had just received a last minute cancellation and a room!! Yeah! Matthew was so nice and accommodating, gave us tips on where to eat. Thanks Matthew!!
My stay was short only approximately 14 hours! Meet my requirements good bed and great breakfast in the morning!! Great location right off the Freeway and several locations for dining! The complimentary breakfast was huge and the room was also large so you had plenty of room!
The parking lot is behind the hotel so when you drive in the place looks almost deserted - however, that is not the case. The hotel is also larger than it appears. Even though it is just off the expressway, the rooms are quiet. Our rooms were clean and updated although we have to agree with others that the pillows are lacking. We had to leave early in the morning so did not try the breakfast so cannot comment on it. Overall we were content with our stay.
On the way back to Canada after a winter in Florida we stayed at the hotel. Was quiet, clean and had an excellent breakfast. Although we didn't use the indoor pool or fitness center they appeared to be well maintained. Lots of restaurants close by too The rate was reasonable as well.
Comfy beds, new TV, and friendly staff! Paper thin walls, ants and mold in bathroom, strange/foul odor in room (I needed to use air freshener) and loud hallways. Breakfast was okay. For the price, it could have been better.
We did a last minute booking for this hotel on trip advisor, and were not disappointed. The hotel has easy access to the expressway, the rooms are clean and even though we were on the first floor the room was quiet and peaceful. The only drawback was the pool was closed, but that is the worst thing I can say. One more thing, they did not have any shampoo/conditioner in the room but there was a sign to say ask at the front desk. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, but there is a Waffle House about a block away if you want something else.
Clean room, easy check in, lots of variety for breakfast, but did not enjoy the pillows. Good value for the money, easy on off for travelling home from Florida. Internet worked great, large room, loved the king bed. Very quiet in our hotel, did not hear any noise above or in the hallways, we were on the ground floor.
Looking to stop somewhere for the night and this rated better than others in the area. I should have read the lower reviews a little closer. It wasn't the worse but they could have been a little better. Rooms and hallways had an odd odor. Our room was not swept - which was obvious by the crumbs and debris on the floor. Bathroom floors need a good scrub down. It makes me question the bedding when other areas are not clean. I could sleep well due to lumpy, overly worn pillows and the creeped out feeling I had in a subpar room.
This is a great stop if you need rest while traveling! Right off freeway, plenty of places to eat. Great price for clean rooms, clean hotel comfy beds, quiet, and free yummy awesome big breakfast!!! Those ladies know how to set up a buffet and it's free!!
Not worth $90 a night. We stayed one night and while the beds and pillows were comfortable, the whole hotel could use a deep cleaning. Every door we went through was dirty and smudgy, there was lots of dust in our room and a few hairs from previous guests on bathroom floor. Son has asthma so we chose this place primarily because it was non-smoking and pet free, but after a night there, he was wheezing. I used the exercise room and the treadmill had a sticky layer on it. With a bit more attention to detail this place wouldn't be bad but the but the overall cleanliness just kind of skeeved me out. Breakfast had good selections. Room was quiet.
Not a fancy hotel but the room was clean and location was quiet. The breakfast had a full variety of food options. Beds could have been a little softer but for one night it was just fine. Would stay at the hotel again.
Honestly, we were just driving through a 100 car-detour bumper to bumper (rockslide/TN) 33 miles loong...and we were reallty spent and tired. Best Western is always a good sign to see up in the sky. It speaks of trust, seurity and good clean rest. Best of all the Manager on duty was very accommodating and nice. He made it the best.
Great place for a stopover on your way up or down I75. Easy access, clean and a good breakfast. Everything you want on your trip. Helpful staff and management followed up on an issue we had and it was solved to our satisfaction.
Very nice, renovated hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast room. Parking adequate near entrance to rooms. Great location with many restaurants nearby. Will be back.
Great spot. Nice, friendly, accommodating staff. Terrific breakfast selection. Would recommend to others. Will stay again on way to Florida. Stayed in North Valdosta, GA the following night. Location and staff not nearly as friendly at that location.
On our trip back to Canada, we stayed at the Best Western Holiday Plaza. When searching for a place we always want a half decent breakfast, free wifi and a comfortable room. This place went above and beyond in all 3 areas. They renovated about a year ago, so everything is like new. Nice new flat screen TV in the room. They had a very large assortment for breakfast. And, there's a great burger place right beside the hotel called "Cook Out" that serves up home made delicious burgers. I would definitely come back to the Best Western Holiday Plaza. You won't be disappointed!
I called to make reservations a week or two before our trip. I had seen the reviews saying the pool had been closed for some time for repairs. When I asked about the pool, I was told it should be open by the time we get there. When we arrived, there was a sign on the counter that the pool was closed. I commented to the clerk about the pool still being closed and he responded that that was the reason we got the rate that we did (even though I was told the pool should be open for our stay). The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The fridge and microwave in the room was nice. The location was great. The breakfast had a nice variety of options. I was glad to see they had egg and sausage patties, but unfortunately the egg patties were literally cold.
The hotel was Reasonably priced. Overall the hotel was clean. The staff was polite and the continental hot breakfast had several choices. Conveniently located right off the interstate . I stay here once a week to visit my husband who is working in town.
This hotel is strategically located for a first stop on the way to Florida from the GTA area. Clean and close to I75. There are restaurants nearby but stay clear of the Chinese one down the street. Great people but terrible food !
I've stayed here 42 nights in the past year and it is a great hotel. It has everything you need and it is convenient to 75 and EKU. The wifi works well enough to play online video games, the breakfast is good, the room is always clean, and the staff is very helpful. TJ is my favorite employee and is always fun to talk to at the front desk. He has helped me with everything from getting my favorite room to printing off documents and even getting me a tooth brush and tooth paste when I forgot them. I love this hotel and will definitely stay here again.
Check in was fine and the room was comfortable. Could be a little cleaner. Breakfast was good. Our room (105) was facing on ramp to I75 and traffic noise was present throughout the night. If you are sensitive to that, ask for a room away from such exposure. A little disappointed that the pool was unavailable due to mechanical problems. It looked nice! Fitness room was adequate.
Have stayed here prior and have enjoyed all this place has to offer, clean rooms/good front desk/great breakfast , easy on & off x-pressway. There are many restruants in the area if you need them, also a huge shopping center with a move complex there.
Very kind, helpful and accommodating staff. The rooms are comfortable and clean with good internet connection. It was my first stay at this location. But I can say with absolute confidence it will not be my last.
This hotel was very comfortable and the staff were great. I will stay here again if I pass thru the area again on business. They have a wonderful hot breakfast. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
We where on 9ur way h9me from Florida and needed to stop. Found the Best Western on trip advisor. Easy to find and close to all kinds of food. It was easy check in. The room was very nice, clean as a while, comfortable bed, quite and just the right temperature on a very cold night. It was very reasonable prices. Would stay again.
The hotel receptionist was actually quiete good, He gave me enough informayion when I checked in. the check in was quick too. but when I step into my room, the dissapointment started to pile up. When I booked the hotel, it was for 4 adults and a double bed queen bed. But when I got my room, it was a double bed super single. It is not suitable at all for 4 adults as per my booking. When I asked the front desk, he said that that was as per my booking. The room is old room although quiete clean. But the bathroom was awfull. the door unable to be locked and the finishing was of a "cheap building" type. The wifi was really bad. It was not stable and very slow. It was on and off from my room. Not advisable for those business type traveller. The most dissapointing was the breakfast. It is all the exact same thing everyday. Not a single variations on the menu. I guess they never thing for those long stayer. I stayed for 4 nights and really get sick of the breakfast.
We were travelling through and just needed a place to take a short nap. We chose this place because of a travel coupon. We arrived at around 2 a.m and stayed in a 2nd floor room. The room looked recently renovated but the hotel had a bad smell in the common areas and the grounds looked barren. I would have drove away, but we needed to rest. The bed sheets and linen looked clean, but one pillow had a lot of hair on it and all the other decorative bedding was just as dirty with hair, which I immediately threw off the bed and reported to the desk when we left. We stayed for 3 hours and left. I would not go back to it. I did not see any bedbugs, but I have since read on the bedbugreport site people have reported it at this hotel. Certainly not as well kept as other Best Western Hotels I've stayed in. We did not try the breakfast.
This is conveniently located on I-75 @ exit 87. this is a clean, quiet place to stay. I had a very comfortable stay here. there are plenty of places to eat at within walking distance, including a waffle house open 24 hrs. they have a nice indoor pool. they have enough room for a couple of trucks to park along the side in the car parking spots.
This stay was memorable. We would stay here again, without question, as all lived up to, or exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Access to I 75 was quick and easy. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean.
Easy to find just off the interstate, this Best Western is close to plenty of restaurant choices. Great pool to do laps in or relax in the hot tub after a day of driving. Good breakfast to start the day off right.
Friendly, professional front staff! Great breakfast with pleasant staff actively monitoring to keep serving plates full and the area clean! We've stayed here a few times and have always been happy with our room. Cleaning staff is also very pleasant and helpful.
We have stayed here for the last 4-5 years, mainly for the cost and an indoor pool. Recent improvements to TV , cable and Internet has enhanced the units affordability. It remains an older unit, but OK. Fridge did not work.
We stayed here just for the night as a drive thru to get a good night sleep before we continue on our way to Florida. This hotel has friendly staff and very helpful and concern for the comfort of their guest. I found it clean and comfortable. Would recommend and if other opportunity comes I'm on this route would definitely stay here again without a doubt. They also have free breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi
We stayed here on our way to Atlanta and liked the service, room and facilities. It is very conveniently located off 75 which saved us time getting on / off for driving further. The breakfast had good options. Rate was quite reasonable.
I stayed here with my husband while driving South. I made the reservation at Hotels.com and paid $55 - definitely worth the price. There were a few inconveniences - indoor pool closed for repair (not really a big deal), no bottled water in the vending machines (and lost money in the process), and the breakfast so just fair (used to the breakfast at Country Inn and Suites, which is fantastic). Certainly would stay here again.
We stopped here on the way south. Very friendly front desk staff. Clean hallways, clean room. Very comfortable bed, good shower. Good TV with all HD channels. Nice selection at breakfast. Best of all I used one of Trip Advisor's booking partners and saved twenty dollars.
The rooms were recently renovated such as paint and bedding, but not the furniture. The rooms were lacking a comfortable feel. The breakfast was good as well as the housekeeping. The hallways and carpet looked dingy and dirty. There aren't any room upgrades available. the property owner made all of the rooms real basic, so don't expect anything extra with Best Western Reward status.
Nice remodel motel easy getting on and off the interstate. places to eat thinks to see not far, near by. Clean room friendly staff. I would recommend this motel and will be staying there on my next trip
We normally try to stay at a Best Western when travelling on the I-75 whether it is North or South. We found this hotel in the Kentucky booklet at the welcome centre. We were surprised at all that it offered. Exercise room, free Wi-fi, fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The beds were extremely comfortable, one of the best sleeps I had on the road. The morning hot breakfast that was included in the price was well worth the stay. Our check-in was quick and flawless thanks to Matthew Vaughn who greeted us upon arrival.
Awesome motel rooms were nice and the motel people were very accommodating. Concerned for my well being. The pool was nice and their hot tub comfortable as well. Only stayed one night but very nice. The breakfast was good as well. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.
The weather turned nasty and we decided to stop so I called the hotel while on the road, the front desk gentleman was very friendly and assured us of a room when I asked about making a reservation. We arrived and the same man, helped us. He was friendly and seemed happy to help. The room was clean, smelled good and looked fresh. We have stayed at Best Westerns before and have had good luck.
Although the bed was comfortable and the shower head was strong, I would not recommend the hotel due to lack of cleaniness. It looked like it had not been vacuumed in a while, and housekeeping did not clean my room during my visit.
Check in was fast and the guys at the desk were cheerful and friendly. The hotel is very handy to I-75 and there is about every restaurant imaginable just across the freeway. The hotel and room were very clean, but our room at the far end of the building had a slightly stale musty smell. The hotel wi-fi was fast and was easy to use. The heating system was fairly quiet and the temperature was stable all night. The hotel has a very large indoor pool area with a big pool and a small hot tub. The water temperature was good in both and the pool was very clean. There is a good-sized breakfast area that was well-stocked with a good selection of items.
We moved our son to Richmond for his job and stayed here overnight. We were looking for some place that was not to expensive and Best Western fit the bill. I am glad we choose this hotel. The room was clean and roomy. The bed was very comfortable. We spent some time in the pool and our side of the water being a little on the cold side it was great. A very large and well maintained pool area along with a nice hot tub. The hot breakfast in the morning was also good. The staff was very helpful. We will stay here next time we are in town.
Clean hotel with very small bathrooms and shower heads that hit the wall instead of you...shower head too high to redirect. Older hotel that could use some sprucing up. The front desk checking in was excellent & recognized my platinum membership (no extras offered), checking out was also good, but front desk needs to wear name tags. Breakfast was hot but hostess was not friendly.
Things were clean, everything worked, place was nice, staff friendly. We did enjoy the breakfast; and it looked like the entire Tennessee Titans team did too - they must have been on their way to an out of state game.
We have stayed here before and the benefit is the huge pool and spa although this time the pool seemed cooler than an heat pool should be and they actually increased the heat because of my comment. The breakfast is more than you could want as they have everything and it is more like a cafeteria. Hotel is clean and the staff is friendly.
The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. This is an older property but a very nice hotel. The staff was very nice. We stayed in room 107 facing the grass area and interstate but you could not hear traffic-noise in the room.
We ended up staying here after visiting three other motels that had no rooms available. At first the room was great but that turned south within a few hours. I took a very quick shower because the shower-head had a leak and the leak hit me directly in the face. When I went to settle down and relax, I noticed a lot of tiny ants crawling all over the table which my suitcase was sitting on. I moved my suitcase off the table and we started killing them, but more kept showing up. I did find ants crawling on the carpet. I called down to the office to report it and ask for bug killer but all they had was the cleaner they use. I went down and was handed a bottle of a vinegar & water solution and an almost empty bottle of boric acid. The clerk said that probably someone spilled something sweet. Between the two we did get the ants under control but it was not a restful night of sleep. The clerk was very nice and apologetic for the trouble. He did say that he would give us a discount. The hot breakfast was decent. They offer spongy rounds of scrambled eggs and sausage patties. We inquired in bacon and was told it was discontinued a few months ago. The room is large but one area of tables is tight and too close together. They have locally made donuts that are delicious but extremely sweet. Uncertain if we will stay there again, the ants kinda ruined our stay. Be forewarned, they do not accept cash at check-in. Never heard of someone turning down cash.
GM Matt and the rest of the crew really made my 5 week stay enjoyable. The hotel is newly remodeled with Serta beds, nice size fridge and microwave. The breakfast is delicious with many options from eggs to waffles. Since I was working nights and sleeping days, the housekeeping staff was very accommodating by leaving me fresh towels and coffee on my door handle when I needed them. Nice, large indoor pool and hot tub. Will definitely stay here again when I'm back in the area.
We stopped here for one night on our way to Florida. We had a bedroom with two queen beds. The room met our needs. It would have been nice to have a few extra blankets or heavier duvets, however, it was not a huge deal. The beds were good, room was clean, bathroom was decent. It had an indoor pool which worked great for the kids. The pool area could use some updating (ie, the pool floor seemed a bit old/dirty) however, did not affect the kids swim, etc. The breakfast was plentiful. All food was really good along with the donuts (lol). The pancakes were rubbery, but overall cant complain. We would stay here again.
We had acquired enough points for a free night. I was not aware of this and the very nice person at the desk pointed this out. A very nice surprise. The hotel was clean, well decorated and comfortable. The staff was excellent and the breakfast, while pretty much the usual hotel breakfast, was well presented with lots of options and fresh ingredients.
We booked a room the night of the Auburn / KY football game in Lexington. On the drive up we stopped to see if we could get our room keys even if we could not check in yet. The front desk person Cindy was very accommodating and we were able to get our keys and leave a bag in our room. After all of the feedback on here I specifically asked for a room in a quiet part of the hotel. We were assigned room 127. We arrived back to the hotel late that evening. We always travel with a Homedics sound machine - so I turned the rain on very loud and it blocked any noise that there might have been outside of our room. Our bathroom - although pretty small - did NOT have mold like other reviews mentioned. Everything was clean and in working order (bed, refrigerator, TV, microwave, etc.) We did not take advantage of the breakfast that was included, the fitness center or the pool due to only being there one night. We asked for a late check out - they gave us until noon and were again very accommodating. My only feedback - is the tub drains very slowly after someone takes a bath. We did not have an issue during a shower the water drained quickly.
I stayed here, no reservation prior to arrival. I arrived around 9 pm, the receptionist was really nice. The room was really nice, I thought it was a little pricey, but overall it was a really nice stay!
I stayed here 2 separate weeks for work. The first week my TV didn't work despite having a new cable box installed that day. I know this because they were still working in my room after I was checked in. I left and came back later to discover a nonworking TV. I was there for 3 nights that week and the room wasn't cleaned 1 of the 3 nights. The second week I was there for 4 nights and the housekeeper failed to clean my room 2 of the 4 nights. They never ran a vacuum in the room and it really needed it. I wouldn't stay here again on a dare.
Hotel was recently updated inside and out. Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, quiet and a very nice place to stay. Close to Berea, KY where the KGAC Fall Fair is held at Indian Fort Theatre. Easy access right off I-75 and great shopping and dining at that same exit.
I decided to give the Best Western in Richmond a try after finding the Red Roof Inn to be booked solid the days I needed a room. The first stay was fine. The room was clean and that's really all I needed. The second and third stay I had ants in my bathroom. I just let it slide because I really hate complaining. Even though the ants eventually made it into the bedroom. The fourth stay was a nightmare. A nightmare which I have found after talking to Expedia the staff doesn't care about. I was placed in a room right next to a door that was poorly maintained so it was LOUD anytime anyone touched it. It woke me up over and over again. I was at this hotel to sleep and guess what I couldn't do? SLEEP. What was I told in the morning? "You booked through Expedia, we can't do anything". Yeah, okay well back to the Red Roof Inn I go where they actually care about their customer's quality of sleep. The wifi was horrible as well. I could only use it while standing IN the bathtub. Overall I don't feel I was treated right. I wasn't even given an apology for any of my issues. An apology is FREE you know. The front desk lady was just too eager to get to the dude behind me to apologize or even say "have a nice day". Lovely. I will not be returning to this or any Best Western. I will absolutely stick with Red Roof Inn. They have better quality staff and rooms. Thanks for your lack of help staff at the Richmond Best Western. I am a frequent traveler and I'll spend my money elsewhere.
Our visit was short but definitely recommend staying at this hotel again! We called while on the road and received excellent help on the phone. Upon arrival, the front desk help was courteous and efficient. Our room was great, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was your normal fair, but everything was stocked and fresh. Checkout was painless and my receipt was in my in-box, as well as in "in-hand" paper copy. Thanks Best Western!
We were pleased with the room. It was clean, comfortable, had all the amenities we needed for a short trip. The front desk staff was very nice, helpful. The location is good, near the interstate but not right next to the road, so quieter than you would expect.
Too bad, such a great location to be so poorly run. The hotel is run down, yet the occupancy level is high due to the location. I know they can do better than this. Just takes a little money and direction to get this hotel up to standards. Breakfast area is in desperate need as well.
This is a typical Best Western-comfortable bedding, safe and quiet. Our room was clean, but amenities were sparse. Example, had to ask for more coffee for the room, no Kleenex box-holder was empty. No information in the room for tourists. Breakfast was usual fare, nothing special.
Made reservation ahead of trip, our first time staying at this location so didn't know what to expect. NO disappointments, room very well kept, and everything needed was there. Breakfast was a deluxe cont. type but had many extras and was delicious. We will stay here again.
