« Good and not so good »

    1. Staff is friendly and professional 2. Rooms are spacious 3. Beds are really comfortable 4. Rooms are clean overall 5. Good location 6. Way too much febreeze in the rooms. Is it because we had a dog room? 7. Super noisy-from hearing all the Hall traffic to the people and kids in the room above. Thankful I brought our own fan to drown out some of the noise. 8. Although some upgrades the room, like most in ocean shores, seemed old. 9. Don't expect to use the coach/bed to sleep in. They gave us bedding but the mattress was really stained and full of crumbs. Regardless it was so old, lopsided and thin that no one could sleep on it. 10. The breakfast area was nice and clean, as always through out the hotel-the staff was efficient and professional. The breakfast food was average or less. The only thing edible to me was the bananas.

    « Can't beat the location »

We are platinum members and try to stay at Best Western when we can. This property is so close to the beach. It is dated but the carpet was new. Wish the Waves restaurant was not closed as there are just no excellent restaurants during our week long stay. Bed was comfy and suite roomy for hubby, myself and 3 boys. Loved the lighthouse viewpoint. Have loved some BW breakfasts like at Arlington they make you an omelet as you wish. This was a usual hotel breakfast. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Did call in the morning and request early check in since we were moving from Worldmark to here but never did receive a call. Arrived 15 minutes befire check in and our room was ready. Super close to beach! Loved fireplace and balcony too! Dugan's pizza delivers and they have salad, pasta and grinders too!

« Mary saved the day! »

We originally had a king with sofa sleeper room. But the sofa bed mattress was stained and ripped. No way was my daughter going to sleep on that! Mary at the front desk saved the day and moved us to a double queen bed room. This room was great - clean & spacious. Great view of the ocean (see attached picture) and a quick walk to get there! I strongly encourage management to replace the sofa bed mattresses. If it hadn't been for Mary, we would've gone elsewhere.

We stayed a night at the Ocean Shores location. It was a great, clean room with a tv, microwave, and mini fridge with a balcony overlooking the beach. Continental breakfast was great with many options.

« Beautiful rooms, excellent staff! »

Madison thank you for going above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed, our stay here has been great! Our view is great, everything is CLEAN, great place! Pool and hot tub downstairs are nice and even has a place to work out in the morning

« cozy rooms with a spectacular ocean view »

When we arrived, we were greeted with open arms and warm hospitality. The staff got us checked in very quickly and gave us detailed directions to our pet friendly room. Once we got into our room, I was very surprised with how spacious it was. The room was very clean and up to date. The bed however was slightly firm, but that wasn't much of a problem at all for us. Our room was on the first floor which is very convenient when traveling with a dog, no elevator rides to bring him outside. We stepped out on the balcony and had a decent ocean view. The property is very well maintained and very clean. The hotel is also a short walking distance to the beach or a quick drive to the beach, whichever you prefer. The hotel has a very nice hot tub and pool, both were very clean and well maintained. They also offer complimentary breakfast in the morning during your stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Lighthouse Suites Inn, and we will definitely be returning.

« Great stay and pretty impressed »

So a lot of times when you go to the ocean you find rundown places they just aren't up to par. But I found this best western although not newer to be quite charming, have great views, and very friendly staff. Check in was very friendly and easy. I was actually able to check in early and the front desk even called me once the room is ready when we are having lunch. I was really impressed. We were in a full Oceanview room with two queens which had a great view. The room is pretty clean there were a couple small toys that had been left over from previous gas that was not a major issue. The room had a sofa bed they pulled out which was older and run down and didn't look that well but it functioned. I was able to call down to the front desk and they brought up bedding for the sofa bed. Enjoyed having the counter with the sink and coffee maker as well as the fridge. The kids love the pool area and was very clean and up to temperature which was nice which included the hot tub not being too hot which is always a pet peeve of mine.

« spacious room, firm bed »

we had a good stay. the room was large (we had one king) and had a small balcony with views of the dunes and the ocean (in the distance). firm bed. they had a heat&glo that only glo'ed (no heat). there was a bar sink in the room. breakfast was good (tasty sausages) although I miss the days of real oatmeal. the on-site waves restaurant has closed. we find ocean shores very relaxing (more deer than people) and will visit again soon.

« Ocean views, cosy and comfortable suite, beach walks and wildlife viewing »

We spent 2 sunny February winter days at Ocean Shores. Were very happy with the hotel we chose. Very spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated suite with perfect ocean and dune views, including sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Very private and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and indoor swimming pool larger than we expected. Room rate was extremely reasonable for comfort provided. Location was great for taking a long beach walk at demon point and exploring the town and going to shops and restaurants. Saw eagles, shore birds at demon point and even found agate stones. Saw northern see lions at Point Brown. Highly recommended.

« An Ocean View For The Taking »

An ocean view for the taking. Very generous size room. Clean and welcoming with good space between everything. Our room was full ocean view with a good size deck, two queen beds and a kitchenette, sofa bed, small table with two chairs. The electric fireplace was nice. Management shared new furnishings are coming. The sofa did communicate its condition as it was not so comfy to sit on. Breakfast area was spacious and clean. Food items were typical. We did not use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The price to stay was up there; however, Thursday cost $30 less than Friday. We always enjoy visiting this great community.

« Perfect for a beach visit & clam digging »

This property is right on the beach, or at least the dunes of the beach. The ocean side has views of the beach and ocean while the dune side has a peek-a-boo view of the ocean and beach which gets better the more floors you are up. If you are on the first floor, you have a little patio outside which was nice to store wet clamming gear. If you are going for a clam digging outing, (Razor Clams) they even have a covered clam cleaning station. There is no hot water at the cleaning station so get a bucket full from the breakfast area which is close to the cleaning station. The rooms are all suites which gives you more room and a couch, chair coffee table and a counter with a sink, microwave, under counter fridge and a one cup coffee maker. Very quiet during the mid week when we were there. The pool, hot tub, sauna area is very nice. You can walk to the beach but have to use the access road as they do not have their own trail. The breakfast selection was good and the staff person was very helpful and attentive. Room Wifi worked well. There is no restaurant on site, so go to Bennett's Fish Shack for Fish and Chips. Price was very reasonable and I'll stay here again.

    « Relaxation »

Good service friendly staff great view. Might want to loosen the faucet so easier to get the shower on and reverse so hot is hot and cold is cold. Staff were great always had a smile and were working on the place. No restaurant on site but did have a continental breakfast

    « Excellent stay »

The property has been remodeled and is quite nice. We took our dogs and the pet friendly rooms are quite spacious. The access to the grounds are easy and the grounds are kept quite clean Staff was quite accomodating and provided excellent service. A wonderful stay at the ocean..

« The best views from awesome rooms. »

Fourth floor ocean view rooms are amazing, the winter storm season brings amazing waves and wonderful sounds. The sound of the frogs in the marshy lands between the hotel and the shore is lovely. The rooms are roomy and well equipped, you could live in these no problem. Been here multiple times now and come back here every year now, the staff are helpful and friendly, Perfect.

    « wonderful staff »

Nice place to hang out for a few days. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms and they allowed pets, I will stay there again. Helped add points to my rewards membership too. The beach is just a stones throw

    5
    « quiet time »

exactly what we were looking for. Love the staff, the rooms and the views. thanks to all for always making my stay there a memorable one. This location stays true to BW name. The staff works hard and always remind you if you need anything to let them know.

    « December get away »

Beautiful ocean view, bed was comfortable, front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Pool was warm and relaxing, enjoyed our time there. We will return again, this was not our first time enjoying this hotel.

    4
    « On the beach »

Comfortable and clean rooms. Friendly staff. A bit spiffy on the price for late fall. Restaurant was closed until further notice. Unknown reasons. Tower atop of hotel was closed due to storm damage. Unknown when, but saw no one working any repairs. Standard breadfast fare. Probablly a notch below very good but still above average. I would research others to compare.

    5
« Weekend on the Beach »

Excellent on the sand experience. Wide open space for the kids to run and fly a kite, build a sand castle or search for sea shells and drift wood. The Best Western Lighthouse Suites Inn is the excellent choice for lodging when visiting Ocean Shores.

    5
    « Relaxing and calm »

We always rent the suite with a whirlpool, looking towards the ocean. It is lovely every time. The room is clean, the view is perfect and you cant get closer to the beach. Good breakfast and great location.

« Great location, helpful staff, large rooms »

Great location by the beach, super friendly and helpful staff, and clean, large, suite-like rooms with balconies facing the ocean. The pool was heated and with a sauna. Also had laundry room available for guests. Reasonable rate and ample parking.

    5
    « Fantastic »

The staff was curtious, the room was amazing, the amenities were great( gotta love the querage) breakfast was great and the pool, hot tub was great of all the hotels or motels I've stayed in this was the best.

    « Showing its age »

This is a beachfront property at the north end of Ocean Shores. There used to be a restaurant on-site but it has closed "until further notice." There is a lot of wear and tear evident and the rooms need a total renovation. The bed was clean and comfortable, and I slept well.

    4
    « Wonderful Travel Experience »

Great place to stay, right on the beach. Easy checkin, lots of parking, extremely friendly staff who assisted with further travel plans/directions and good breakfast provided. Will definitely stay there again.

    4
    « Clean and nice »

Traveled to Ocean Shores on business, so my requirements in a room are a little different than most here. Love the laminate and tile floor in room, the tv has direct TV so it's nice to not have to scroll through every channel to find something to watch. Check-in staff was very friendly, room keys and paperwork we're ready to go upon arrival. The attached restaurant was "Closed Until Further Notice" so I had to drive in to town for dinner.

    5
« Wonderful and exceptionally clean. »

This is a great place to stay. They are pet friendly and our cocker spaniel enjoyed his welcome treats. We enjoyed the warm chocolate chip cookie treats. Absolutely spotless, impressive. Quiet and restful. Staff was great and breakfast was very good.

    5
    « Nice »

The phone map of hotels made it look like this hotel was the closest to the beach so we chose it but it's really in line with the other hotels. However the view was beautiful and unobstructed and only a short walk to the beach. Breakfast good. Service good. Main restaurant was closed but their continental breakfast was available. They were doing some tv cable work on the roof and we're not letting anybody check in before 4 so there was a wait while all the clerks were doing checkins at once but there is a nice lobby with hot tea and fireplace while we waited.

    4
    « Love the suites »

I don't think Ocean Shores has any motels closer to the beach than this one - just a short walk (or drive) and you could be clam digging (in season). Our room had two queen beds in one area, and a second area with a table, couch, counter with sink, microwave, fridge. Fourth floor, so a beautiful view of the beach. Staff was excellent, personable and helpful. Continental breakfast (eggs, waffles) was offered, but we weren't up in time so don't know how that was. The only flaw was reported by my friend - the hot tub and pool looked like they needed refinishing, although she enjoyed the hot tub. The attached restaurant was not open, but that may be seasonal as we were there in November. I thought the price was reasonable - about $110 total, although it was off-season and midweek.

« Best Western Ocean Shores »

Nice hotel, clean, decent breakfast offerings. Pool and hot tub clean. Friendly staff. Room was well-kept up, spacious, and nice ocean view. Located a bit away from the "downtown" area, but not too far. Would stay here again.

    4
    « Great Ocean Views »

Lighthouse Suites has beautiful rooms with gorgeous views of the ocean. Within walking distance to the ocean and town. Friendly staff that offer you a host off ideas as to what to see and do... Breakfast is ready in the morning to get your day started, pool and exercise facility. Enjoy your day flying a kite on the beach, looking for shells or driving along the ocean. A quick trip back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner. They even offer a noon check out. What more could you ask for!!

« BW Lighthouse Ocean Shores Experience »

Excellent hotel. Even though it was not a Best Western Plus, it was better than many of the BW Plusses we have stayed it. The internet showed the breakfast as just a continental breakfast - but in actuality it was a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, and many other things

    4
    « Great hotel »

The hotel and the amenities were excellent. I would definitely come back and recommend to others. Only issue was they ran my card the night before my stay when they said that I would be charged when I got there. Almost overdrew my account since payday was the following day. Other than that everything was great.

« Outdated, VERY noisy, baaad breakfast. »

We had a romantic trip planned and it was ruined by this stay. The view was great and that was about it for the positive. The noise level, food and quality of the room was unsatisfactory to say the least. The outdated and mismatched décor was as not charming coastal chic as it tried to be. This is NOT the best option for your money in Ocean Shores.

    1
« Poor value, poor quality »

We stayed here with 3 people on a business trip. We were given a king bed with a sofa sleeper which normally would have great as my wife and I like the king and my 12 year old son would take the sofa bed. Upon check in we were the sofa beds in those rooms don't work anymore. So they offered to send up a rollaway and set it up. It took 4 hours for the rollaway to show up. They pushed it in the room and left us to figure out how to set it up. So we just left it until we came back from our convention. We quickly set it up and found out they did not send any pillows for the bed. When my son played down the bed sagged horribly and he complained of the springs and metal rods poking him. I tried it out and sure enough the mattress was worn out and it was very uncomfortable! So he decided to sleep on the couch. We then started in with a howling dog in the room next door. This continued until almost midnight when we couldn't take it anymore so we asked what could be done. They offered us a double queen room on the other side of the hotel if we would pack our stuff and bring them the room keys. We changed rooms and found this one to be in just as much disrepair. We just went to bed because at this point we were all exhausted. Generally the hotel was in poor condition with torn and scratched paint throughout. Our first room had a large chip in the tub that was rusting, the room was dingy and the couches are so old the sofa sleepers no longer work! The restaurant in the hotel called Waves simply has a sign stating closed till further notice. I will not stay here again and regret staying here this time. The room was $60 more than the ship in where my convention was be I g held and I wish I had stayed there as they obviously took great pride in their property which the Best Western did not.

« Oceanside to the beach »

My favorite Best Western to date! The room is spacious with a separate seating area with sofa. Sliding glass door to balcony overlooking the dune to the beach. Well kept fixtures and housekeeping seen to know their jobs and do it well. Along with seating area is a frig, microwave, coffee maker, small sink, counter top and cabinet. Nice size desk with drawers, dresser, closet, double sink outside of bathroom. Right off the beach, with a beach access road right outside the driveeway. Take a drive on the beach or ride one of the horses for rent right there on the beach. Wouldn't mind staying here for a week or so, wouldn't feel cramped in this spacious room.

« Our wonderful stay at BW/ocean shores Washington »

From the second we walked in, we felt taken care of and pampered. The Staff super friendly and helpful. The rooms, the food, the amenities all showed a lot of care, detail and TLC. We are very happy to have chosen the BW in Ocean Shores Washington.

« Just a Short Walk from a Beautiful Stretch of North Beach »

Chose this hotel because it was one of the few pet-friendly options in Ocean Shores. But it turned out to be a great spot because not only was it a good place to stay, but it was located just a short walk from the beach. Everybody knows that beaches are absolutely overrun on holidays, and we planned to hit the beach at Ocean Shores on the Sunday of the Labor Day 2017 Holiday. Yes the beach was busy and there were lots of cars -- and horses, which was different in our experience. But this beach is so long and so broad that it was absolutely no problem. You do have to watch for traffic, mainly from people on rented scooters, but once you are out by the water its a great experience. The hotel was adjacent to a wildlife area and we got a close view of local deer romping through the small dunes at dusk. They seemed completely unafraid and the hotel staff told us later that they are so tame they will eat apples right out of your hand. The restaurant was not in service during our stay, but we dined at the nearby Galway Bay Irish Pub and enjoyed the best meal of our entire vacation. Who knew there would be such a genuine Irish pub on the beach in Southern Washington? The hotel had some really nice amenities, including a good-sized indoor pool and decent breakfast area. Very much appreciated the large and light pet relief area, with bags provided. If you are looking for a good hotel choice right at the beach in Ocean Shores you can't go wrong with Best Western Lighthouse Suites Inn. If you have a chance be sure to check out the view from the lighthouse tower atop the hotel.

    5
    « Great Pet-Friendly Rooms! »

Pleasantly surprised on the quality of their pet-friendly rooms. I usually expect a lesser quality room when I travel with my dog. Not this time! In fact the quality of the entire hotel was great. I will be back with my beast soon.

    4
    « Nice »

This is our second stay at this Inn. The rooms are very nice and my recommendation would be to get one on the third or fourth floor so you can see the ocean. Ground floors views are limited due to the dunes. Very pet friendly. The breakfast here is just about the same as all other best westerns, just a little bit more limited and no biscuits/gravy.

« Best Deal on our Trip Around Olympic Nat'l Park »

We were not planning on staying in Ocean Shores but after a long day of hitting the coast and the rain forest we were tired and needed a place to sleep. We called Best Western and they had rooms available. Right on the ocean, and we had a balcony, with an ocean view and a mini-suite for $135. AARP rates. We thought it was new but it was just undergoing a renovation upgrade. Very friendly front desk and fairly decent hot breakfast bar. Best deal we had during our 8 days in Seattle area. I wish we could've stayed one more day.

« Some good things, some meh :/ »

My Husband and I stayed one night at this Best Western location for a quick getaway.. I'll start with the good: nice front desk service, spacious rooms, beautiful view, decent breakfast and generally clean common areas. The Meh: We were put on the second floor (I believe there are four floors total) and I think we could hear EVERY single move the people above us made, from the creaking bed to the steps on the floor and even a very adult conversation! We were in room 217 and the people next to us obviously had many small children- which is ok, we have five of our own, but since we wanted a quiet evening away, hearing loud children next door to us and guests directly above us, we barely slept. The rooms come with chairs for outside balcony seating, but when we went out to our balcony to enjoy the ocean breeze, there were lots of bees and lots of construction material for us to look at(picture attached)kinda a bummer to see a bunch of trash (side note: the front of the hotel also had a bunch of general trash and a construction dumpster out front). The hotel was very loud- honestly. I think if we stayed here again, I'd ask for a top floor to avoid the heavy noise volume. One last thing, the room didn't have a/c- which is not usually an issue in Washington but the room was quite warm throughout the stay.

    5
    « Great room »

Room was spacious and spotless. Clerk at the desk made changes in the reservation with no problems and was very helpful. Breakfast was typical, but area was kept picked up by someone that was constantly cleaning up and helping people find things. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area

    5
    « Great Stay! »

This hotel is undergoing some renovation but it was clearly communicated and did not have any negative impact on our stay. It is a beautiful location directly on the water. A great place to stay for a romantic weekend or family vacation with easy access to the beach.

    5
    « Road trip »

On road trip for 2 weeks so its especially nice to arrive at a hotel where you are greeted in such a friendly manner and then to have a really nice room. That's the experience we had here. We were traveling with an ill person and Shlila at the front desk was so compassionate.

    4
    « Pleasant stay »

Excellent view, comfy room, good quality. The hotel was in the middle of deck repair and painting. These types of maintenance activities are necessary and were unobtrusive and caused no problems during my stay. My stay was quiet and pleasant. There are multiple good restaurants to choose from in the area ranging from reasonably expensive to fairly expensive, depending upon your personal preference.

    5
    « Pleasant Stay »

My family and I stayed here on September 10th and 11th. The staff we encountered were very friendly. We all enjoyed the breakfast. They have a pool and hot tub that are very warm. We had a nice view of the ocean from the second floor. The hotel is a short walk to the beach. The room was clean.

    5
« Magic Ocean Get Away »

You will love this place. Right on the beach with a cozy balcony over looking the water. There is a fireplace in the room for when the sun goes down and what a sunset it is it, All you need s a bottle of wine or a dry martini and someone lovely to share the moment., enjoy,

    « A Good Hotel .. but Some Issues »

Had high expectations in the beginning. Excellent corner room .. very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. But, was somewhat disappointed in the end. No connection to WiFi.. sadly.. and, was never remedied..

    1
« No ADA accomodations charge wrong card blames customer »

Staff was rude about ADA accommodations and charged the wrong card, yet blamed us. Manager is a Blamer, and can't own up to their mistakes. Husband is an amputee on crutches with assisted dog. We needed two beds, only truly ADa Rooms that met those two needs were being remodeled. If we were the suing type of folks, there would be a lawsuit. She made no offer of compensation for our troubles. Stayed at Shilo Inn two weeks later. No troubles there and the pool is open 24 hrs. Nicer hotel by far with better rates.

    3
« Okay hotel. Nothing special. »

Decent enough. Not as nice as it looked when I booked online. Average decor. Bedding and towels are scratchy and uncomfortable. No utensils provided for the kitchenette. Could use a remodel with upgraded decor. Nice pool and hot tub. Great customer service and good location.

    « Ocean Shores »

Hotel was clean and quiet but fully booked for the weekend. The hotel is a little outdated and the restaurant was closed during our stay. The Hotel does offer wifi but it was so slow that it couldn't be used. They do offer a breakfast which had a few hot items (eggs, bacon, waffles), muffins, pastries, toast, bagels, juice, and coffee. The breakfast area is really small for how many guest where at the hotel for the weekend. I think we were in room 220 and we had a nice view of the ocean. There is a small balcony and they provide plastic chairs. I like that this hotel is not located on the main road and is more isolated for the other hotels. Enjoyed a nice morning out on the balcony drinking coffee and listening to the wildlife and ocean.

    2
    « Overpriced »

1st flr Ocean front rooms have no view due to overgrown bushes on the beach. Hotel under renovation, being resided. Restaurant closed until further notice. Indoor pool sheetrock ceiling partially covered in plastic. Breakfast area does not have enough seating for peak season. Overpriced for the experience.

    4
« Short stay with family. »

Decided to go to beach for couple of days. Ocean Shores Wa. is close for us. Daughter made arrangements to stay at Best Western since they had stayed there before. Close to beach. Clean room, nice employees, pet friendly. Nice continental breakfast. I'll definitely stay there again.

    5
« Love the updates to the 1st floor »

Best Western has always been our favorite place to stay. We typically stay on the first floor which are the pet friendly rooms. Our one complaint was how old and dated the rooms were. We were completely blown away by the updates. This is really a game changer for the old hum hotels in OS. No more old ugly carpet with staples sticking out. Now there is tile and wood floors. Yes some reviews complain about the sand which is repealed by the floor but that is easily cured with a broom sweep (the second we even brought our own broom). Our group had two rooms with their own pros and cons: Room 103: this is the room that has its door outside on he northern most side of the building (against the beach access road). It probably has the best view on the first floor, has its own raised mini deck (which if you have a baby gate you can keep kids and dogs corralled), and two sinks. Cons are since it's across the camping ground it can a little more noisy, with campers also facing your window. Also the mini fridge they put in is smaller and not stainless steel like in other rooms (the color matches the decor but the area they built for it was larger so it looks like at the end they ran of the nice fridges). Room 118: has a entry hallway making room look bigger. It has a larger stainless fridge. It's on the corner on the south Sound and your windows face the dunes so their is more privacy. The room only has one sink. Also since it is on the far end probably has the least ocean view. Room also seemed to get hotter then 103. They also have a great pool. They re did the meal room but the food layout is go as when the hotel is crowded there isn't a lot of room to seat and everyone climbs over each other at the food counter. The waffle makers are bigger so fill up the cups they give to the brim or the waffles come out all thin. Mary at the front desk is always great to deal with and is always helpful. Can't wait to come back.

    « Pleasant Experience »

Loved the layout of the room and the great view of the ocean. The room was quiet, spacious, and comfortable. It was an easy walk to the beach from the hotel. We will definitely return again and will recommend to friends and family!

    « Cheap cheap cheap »

Cheap right down to the skimpy single ply toilet paper, poor and crowded breakfast experience, cheap plastic coffee pot and awful coffee in the room, dirty windows, crappy amenities, lack of common areas, no air conditioning. Everything was if the lowest possible quality. But the staff was as sweet as could be.

Disappointed in beach area when we arrived. Older stick buildings, sad facades and just tired appearance. Sorry Wish we had booked somewhere else. Hard to find decent food and drink. Really disappointed

    « Mother's Day treat »

It was a beautiful day when we arrived. There is construction going on though it wasn't in our way. The waterfront view from the room was perfect. We had a free brunch with our stay and it's good. Staff are helpful and the room ok. It is old and can use some renovation.

    « Loved our room !! »

The hotel is pretty standard Best Western. Pool, breakfast, the restaurant was closed, good access to the beach and good views over the grassland/brush/greenbelt above the tide line. However, the part we liked the best was our room. I think it was 221; two room two bed (both kings) looking over the greenbelt with an angled view of the ocean. We much preferred this view because there were birds and deer. The room was perfect. I think there is only one of these in the hotel so, if you want it, book early.

    « Prehoneymoon check »

We stayed here in advance of our daughters honeymoon trip. Basically nice. Friendly staff but not restaurant staff. Needs new paint! Hideous color! Carpets worn. That said, grounds nice, location primo! Quiet, big partial ocean front. Cute town. I recommend but like all tourist hotels, it takes a beating. Fair price.

« Ocean Shores Lighthouse, lightsout »

Aging, worn and poor shape. Great location with but, repairs are needed and the staff ignored repair requests and laughed at my suggestion that a broken fireplace should result in a discount to those renting the space. When I rent a room anywhere I do so for all the amenities that come with that room / facility, if something is broken it should be fixed or the price adjusted to account for the lesser product I am receiving.

« Great access to beach »

I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were in town, Ocean Shores, for a motorcycle rally and the hotel was great. They had even blocked off special parking for all of the motorcycles and had towels to use to wipe our bikes down with. It is a tad far from the convention center/main town area (far for walking to) and no close places to eat, which is probably the only drawback. But great access to the beach!

« Nice staff, Clean, Quiet, Near Family friendly spots »

Friendly staff, good night's sleep, walking to the beach, enjoying the view (even has a clam cleaning station when clams are in season)...Breakfast is ok, indoor pool wins kids approval...Hot tub was closed though. Ask for the ocean view side if available. TV and wi-fi and I think a games console also.

    « Wonderful Time »

We had a great family time at the BW Ocean Shores. I was traveling around the Olympic Peninsula with my husband, two teenagers and and two dogs. This was the best hotel we stayed at. the room was large and clean. It was very pet friendly and the breakfast was great.

« Best Customer service EVER!!! »

We had the best ladies weekend ever, and our room was immaculate the view from our 2nd. floor room was out of this world the ocean was right there. But the best thing I can say was the customer service was awesome the two front desk ladies we dealt with was Mary and Madison they were very helpful, they knew the area well, gave us suggestions on the best places to eat, when we needed a bottle opener, extra towels more bedding and paper plates they were fast and supper sweet, ya we were needy! but they never made us feel that way, it's like they wanted us to have a great time too. We will defiantly stay there again when we are back in Ocean Shores WA. Oh ya!! and the indoor pool, sauna and spa that you could fully stand up in, were great and relaxing after a day of horseback ridding on the beach. and did I mention the best continental breakfast!!! We stayed on the second floor, it was clean and quiet, our room had two queen beds a pull out couch bed, a fire place and a fridge and microwave as well as coffee maker that we never used because the continental breakfast was the best, waffles with all the toppings, oatmeal and fruit as well as yogurt and eggs and sausage. Coffee, tea, orange juice and apple juice.

« Nice hotel, close to the beach »

This hotel is in walking distance of the beach. The 1st floor ocean front room we had was very nice and clean but the view of the ocean could not be seen cause the sand dunes are overgrown with shrubs. The restaurant was also closed that was located in the hotel. If you plan on eating there call and check to see if it's opened back up 1st so you don't get a surprise like we did. It wasn't listed as closed on the online booking page. We walked to town to eat but there's lots of places to choose from within a mile. The staff was also friendly.

    « Great Get Away »

Great place to stay. Close to the beach, great beds. Decent free breakfast. Great staff that wanted to make our stay great. The rooms were very quiet, no noise from the room next door. The restaurant was under a remodel, so I can't say how the food was.

« Below Average Hotel, not impressed »

Where do I begin with this review. The good -Not that much, the breakfast was just ok The bad, ugly and the rest.... OMG this hotel is outdated, and overpriced We stayed here on 8/5/2017 for one night and we couldn't wait to leave. As we drove up to the hotel I started to get the feeling this was a mistake, at 212.00 a night, we expected at the very least 2 - 3 stars, The check in process gave how outdated the hotel was, I had to actually write on paper, nothing was automated. Then we check into our rooms and start unpacking and looking over the beds to get the kids ready as we were tired and wanted to grab something quick and then sleep. I reserved a room for 5 people, 2 adults and 3 kids. it was nice they had an option for 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. We opened the sofa bed and was SHOCKED at what we saw, the mattress was so worn out and riddled with holes and marks/stains , I couldn't t tell where they came from. The mattress was probably an inch thick , when you sat on it, your whole body felt like sitting on iron bars. We decided to call the front desk and complain before them we looked for extra sheets and pillows, what hotel doesn't provide extra sheets and pillows knowing we reserved for 5 people? there were none, they sent someone up with sheets, as we open the paper thin very old faded sheets, we saw holes in them , I was shocked and couldn't believe how careless, nasty and rude this was, to even hand anyone sheets like these to use. Then we call back ask for new sheets complaining about the sofa bed and sheets saying can we have a new mattress, they said there were none. We then asked for pillows to put under and decided it was better to just get a rolling bed and move it close to couch (not sofa bed) and then make a bed out of it for the kids, it was painful. All the staff could say I that they were sorry and in the process of changing all the furniture. My cousin got into her bed and pulled back sheets only to find more holes covered deep under the comforter, we were appalled to say this least. I cant believe we still go here This hotel should be a motel and should not in any way charge more than 100.00 a night, this was a complete disgrace to the best western chain. I have stayed at other best western properties before and although there were 5 stars, the experience never prompted me to write a review I felt this was the step child they abandoned and forgot about. With the amount of money they should provide way better service and amenities. I strongly believe they only reason they get away with this is because there are not many hotels in the area and they monopolize on this. I will never stay there again and do no advice anyone too. And really ocean shores itself was cold and boring, run down town with nothing to offer, I will definitely never return, It was the most wasted weekend I have ever spent we couldn't wait to leave. NEVER AGAIN, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP

    « Mostly nice »

Very happy with most of the stay. Rooms were very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Continental Brkf. very good. I liked that coffee and juices were available 24hr. Only complaint was siding construction going on during day so couldn't sit out on balcony during the day. I know remodels have to be done but discounts should be given when there is construction going on. Overall, a very nice hotel.

« Comfortable and good service »

My wife and I stayed here for one night and really enjoyed our room. We had a room with a large jacuzzi tub and really enjoyed this after a day on the beach. The DVD player in the room and the kitchenette (microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator) were also a nice addition. We also enjoyed the two deck chairs provided. We enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony. The one thing I would change here is the ice machine. It doesn't have an ice reservoir and is an ice dispenser instead. The machine appears unable to handle the volume as I tried to use it three times and could get no more than 6 cubes. Other than this everything was great.

« Great Location to stay in Ocean Shores »

Nice, roomy hotel. We had a few issues (smoke alarm beeping at 1:30 am, person upstairs throwing finished cigarettes off balcony without even putting them out, but staff was very helpful and took care of our issues. Nice location within short walk of beach, typical hotel breakfast, clean and nice rooms with sitting area and balconies or patios.

« View of - Construction guys outside my door! »

Sadly I chose Best Western for my beach getaway with my dogs. I had options back when I booked a few weeks ago - but of course now all the hotels are sold out. With dogs you are stuck on the first floor - fair enough - I knew this when booking. What they don't tell you - is that there is construction going on until 6pm every night - 5 feet outside the window. I've had construction guys rattling around just outside my only window/slider. The only way to get any privacy is to close the drapes - which isn't why I paid $180 to stay at the beach for the night!! The screen door - doesn't even slide closed properly (perhaps I can lean out and ask a construction guy to fix it??). Other than my issues - the staff is nice (but couldn't change my room). I'm so very disappointed - I know its just a Best Western - but my goodness - at $180 a night I would expect to have a room that doesn't have construction and construction men just outside my door. And sadly - all the other hotels on the coast are booked so I'm stuck here.

    « Incredible ocean View »

We love the location, easy access to the beach, a short drive to down town for shopping, food & entertainment. Our grandson's love the light house with a spectacular view of the beach, the ocean, Ocean Shores & the beautiful sunset's. A few disappointments; we paid extra for the ocean view, but the sliding door was so rusted, we had difficulty opening the door to access the deck, to be able to sit out & enjoy the ocean view & ocean air. The hot tub was barely tepid, the pool shower was not working. I reported it to the handy man. The hot tub was better, later in the day. Over all it is a beautiful hotel with spectacular views of the ocean. We will stay there again.

« You Get What You Pay For »

Decent hotel. They tried to spruce up the look of things, but there are still problems under the quick fixes (i.e., hide-a-beds that are fixed with duct tape and don't even pull out, wobbly ceiling fans, outside lights thay don't work). Not a bad place for the price though.

    « Fantastic... »

This was a get a way trip for me and two granddaughters and to see my brother. Our room on the 4th floor was very clean and had a fantastic view of the ocean. It was very quiet, probably because we were on the 4th floor. Beautiful place to stay and friendly staff... we were comfortable and hated to leave.

« Decent price and confortable stay »

Very comfortable stay with nice partial beach view. Wifi connection is also great. I like the hot breakfast there. Walking distance to the beach. Conveient and very nice stay. By the way, this 200 charecter minimum in review is annoying. I am typing the last two sentences just to reach the minimum.

    « Nice location »

Very nice location and views of the beach. Easy to walk to and could watch the sunset from the room. Construction was going on but not too bothersome. Restaurant closed but staff gave a (hand-drawn?) map to the town with restaurants shown. check-in crowded but check-out easy. Parking not a problem. Rooms large and clean. breakfast area had issues with drink machines and size.

This hotel's room was huge! It was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices with plenty of seating. The pool was heavenly! And the short walk to the beach was especially nice. We would definitely stay there again!!

« smokey from beach fires »

This hotel is very nice and newly remodeled, It is a great location. It has a great view. I marked them down because there is no air conditioning and the smoke from the beach fires were huge (felt like we were in the chimney) and the room was too hot

« Right on the Beach with AMAZING View »

Again, Best Western can be depended on for a great place to stay. My room was on the 4th floor overlooking the beach - just amazing view with sounds of the waves. Heaven. The room was huge, with a deck to sit out on and two deck chairs. There was a good sized kitchenette and a fireplace. The rooms furnishings were a little dated and the room overall felt 'tired' but who cares - THAT VIEW!!!! The wifi did NOT work at all for me (I have had no trouble at all on a 14 day beach hopping trip from California to Washington at any other hotel) and the tech help they provide (number on a card in the room) was completely useless, half an hour wasted - he kept trying to get me to fix my laptop - reboot it, reload the browser etc etc etc and would NOT hear me when I told him the issue was not my laptop - I was connected to their wifi just fine but their wifi was not connected to the internet. Just totally frustrating. And as I am on a trip for my travel blog, wifi was essential. Thus I stayed only one night here when I wanted to stay two. And I went for dinner to a restaurant that had wifi and connected NO PROBLEM 15 minutes after I got off the phone with Mr. Useless.

    « Very impressed »

I love this location. Always very clean and the staff is very friendly as well as helpful. The location is very convieniant, as it is just walking distance to the beach. I also like the private balconies that look out to the beach so you can enjoy an amazing sunset. The rooms with Jacuzzi tubs are definitely amazing! Will never stay anywhere else when I visit there.

« Right on the beach. »

Best Western Lighthouse Suites is a great place to stay in Ocean Shores. Very kid and dog friendly. Newly remodeled rooms look great. They are still remodeling few areas, but didn't get in the way. Super close to the water, almost on the beach. Staff was great even though we were there on one of the most busy weeks, 4th of July! We will defiantly be stay there again.

« Perfect place to spend the 4th of July! »

We had a ocean front room for the 4th of July. It was the perfect way to be off the beach and the crazy, but get to watch alot (and I mean a lot) of fireworks right from our deck! Our room was nice and clean, very nice size, two queens, a sitting area and small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, sink. coffee maker. We also had a fireplace in the sitting area, but being summer we didn't use it. They are working on the hotel so there was some construction, the elevator went down for a bit so we had to take the stairs. There is a pool and hot tub. They have a good free breakfast in the morning with all the usuals plus waffles (you make), scrambled eggs and sausage. They staff was nice. The resturaunt is no longer open which was a bummer. But we did get some pizza to take to our room while watching the fireworks from a place called Cruisers Pizza in town, it was excellent. In the morning there were deer out in the dunes. Overall all decent stay, will stay here again next time we are in Ocean Shores. Best Parts: Large clean room, great view of beach, easy access to beach, good breakfast, free wifi Cons: Little noisey, thin walls, no resturaunt in the hotel

« Value on the beach »

Great view and proximity to the beach. The balcony is great to sit and enjoy the view. If possible, ask for a room on the south side, away from the access road and campground. The room was quite big and nice amenities, clean and enjoyable.

    5
    « Close to Beach »

Stayed two nights over 4th of July weekend. Pet friendly hotel. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Pool area was great. Breakfast staff had some difficulties keeping up with amount of guests participating in breakfast. Access to beach was awesome. Also close to other areas. Definitely would stay again.

« As expected for this hotel chain... »

We had our adult children so chose to book the 2nd floor Junior Suite. The room has a King bed plus a separate bedroom with another King bed. The couch in this suite is not a pullout bed which was not a problem since there were only 4 adults in our party. All in all, the suite is pretty basic - the layout is the same as the other rooms except for having a separate bedroom. The deck looks out to a large grassy area and the ocean beyond. Being early summer, the weed pollen affected some people in our group who woke up with scratchy throats. Common to this chain, there's a simple cold/hot breakfast from 7-10a. There's also an indoor pool and sauna in the building. The location is convenient to the stretch of wide, sandy beach - the road leading to it is right by the hotel building. Cars are allowed on this beach so it takes no time at all to get on it. Thankfully, we didn't have a problem getting stuck in the sand which we heard have happened to some cars. We saw small groups of people enjoying the beach on horseback. The rental stand is the beach road close to the hotel.

« Very pleasant stay at the Hotel »

I was particularly pleased with the efforts of Mary who went to an extra effort to get us settled after we had decided to extend our stay. This made our extended stay so much more satisfactory. We remain loyal supporter of Best western and are looking forward to staying there again

« Great Ocean Front Views »

You can beat this place for a beach hotel. They are remodeling and updating the inn. It's nice to see the owners are putting the time and dollars into the prime location. When I return to the area -this will be the place I stay.

« Customer service on top of a perfect room! »

    « Location is great! »

This hotel is pretty run down for the price. But the location can't be beat. Just a quick walk or drive to the beach. Continental breakfast was pretty good! Beds need overhauling. Staff was very friendly.

    « Remodeling »

Only negative is that I wasn't warned that the restaurant and bar would be closed, which I'm resuming was due to remodeling. Other than that the staff and hotel were excellent. The remodeling decor is beautiful. The look-out tower is such a bonus and my granddaughter LOVED it!

The jetted tub was large and the jets worked exceptionally well... the lighting overall in room and over jetted tub in main room had overhead lighting. The view from room was amazing of ocean... the hotel is centrally located so the noise is only of the ocean.... the deck outside was big enough for two guests to hang out in ... with chairs provided by hotel... the bed was a king size and very soft and comfy and pillows too...

« Perfect for the 4th of July! »

Our family all gets together every year for the 4th of July in Ocean Shores for a family reunion, fun, and fireworks for the past 7+ years. We started our first year all of our first year and it has become a tradition. We love it at the BW Lighthouse the staff is always so attentive and accommodating. They even put up with all the kids running around and even keep a eye on them when some get loose (THANK YOU) The rooms they let us reserve all next to each other for the next year when we check out. The location is amazing, we can walk to the beach in the a.m and set up our big old group spot around our fire pit and being so close to our room it's easy to walk back and go to the bathroom throughout the day. Between the 2 beds and the pull out you can get 8 people in a room if you need to , even your dog...as long as they don't bark so you don't bug your neighbors! My opinion not the hotels! Finally the kids favorite...The pool where they live if they aren't at the beach,, I love how you have to have a room key to get in and not just anyone can get in. THANK YOU BEST WESTERN I WILL SEE YOU IN A FEW WEEKS!!! -Jacqui Poulsbo Wa.

    « Dissappointed »

We arrived June 9th 2017 stayed 2 nights. We were able to get checked in early wich took several phone calls that got us nowhere finally we had to show up in person to get it in early. The disappointments were the key cards not working , replaced the keycards and still had issues, the sliding glass door screen was missing all the rooms had sliding screen doors but our room, we wanted to use it cause it was warm out and we had brought our puppies, the most disappointment was the ants in our room I saw a few big ants on the drapes but our last night I woke up at 4:25am and what woke me up was and ant crawling on my neck. We paid $213 per night for our room. It was a corner pet room. On our way out the gal at the desk asked how our stay was and what they could've done better and I told them. They didn't refund us anything ! But I told them they may want to take care of those things. We may not go back there again. I gave 2 stars because the continental breakfast is a a good deal .

« Very nice Hotel to stay in especially when remodel is done »

Overall we like to stay at the Best Western at Ocean Shores, for the location, not on a busy spot. I think the value is good for what you get for your money. We keep coming back to the same Hotel each time we go down to Ocean Shores, so that kind of speaks for itself.

    « Get away »

I just love this place every time i go. This time I had a corner room. Great view with great location and accommodations. As always great staff, small elevators but I find it perfect. Nothing bad to say. Close enough walk to get up and run/jump into the cold ocean water in the early morning before I start tbe day.

« Great Location, upgrades needed. »

Booked into the King Suite, top floor full view, which was amazing. They have a nice balcony to sit out on, with two plastic chairs. The hotel is doing upgrades with new carpets on the top two floors (according to the sign) and re-doing the breakfast room. The great part of this hotel is that it is right on the beach with vehicle access to the beach right there. They are not on the main drag in town, which is great during the busy Memorial day weekend. Downside, which is why only a 3 star: The hotel is a bit dated. Traveling as a family the hide-a-bed in the room was not functional as the springs and bars were not connected. The whole thing sagged in the middle just looking at it- so not even comfortable to sit on. The king mattress was not a pillow top and for side sleepers, not a good combination. The bathroom shower curtain- there is only one fabric one and after one kid shower - it was covered in water.

« Friendly service and great experience »

    « Location, Location, Location »

In case the title didn't catch you, let me remind you: Location. I've stayed at the hotel twice now and the hotel is ocean front. Stunningly, amazingly ocean front. If you're lucky enough to get a west-facing room, your balcony looks straight out into the forever of the Pacific Ocean. That, alone, should be recommendation enough for any hotel. The rooms are standard-issue hotel rooms, nothing special except the view, which is exceptional. The employees at the hotel are very nice and helpful. The amenities are decent. The price for the location is pretty reasonable, in my opinion. The only issue I had with my stay here was a billing issue that took an extra phone call to clear up. Overall, it's a nice place to stay if you're looking to spend with weekend with the ocean.

Really enjoyed out stay this time. Too bad it wasn't long enough. We brought our dog this time and stayed in a newly redone room. It was awesome!! The bed was super comfy! The hotel was being renovated when we were there but it didn't not hinder our stay. It is going to be so gorgeous for the summer when all the work is done!

« Not worth the money at this time »

We stayed here for two nights and it was very nice and comfortable. There were some renovations taking place but this did not effect us enjoying our visit. Overall an pleasurable visit at a great location.

Overall stay was easy and convenient and location was perfect! They were renovating the lobby area but it didn't bother me. The room was nice with an ocean view but access to the balcony was a problem. The door was extremely hard to open. Luckily my husband could do it for me but even he had a hard time with it. Other than that, the room was great! Also, their internet wifi was awesome and fast!

    « Beach front »

We had a nice room with ocean front balcony. It was so close to the beach. Perfect for beach combing or clam digging. They were undergoing construction on the restaurants when we were there, and we didn't have our included breakfast. Good value for price, and really can't beat the vicinity to the water! We saw a bald eagle eating a fish just down from the hotel.

    « Completely Unsatisfied »

When we arrived, we were greeted by shipping containers in the parking lot, and makeshift construction workstations outside. The front desk was under construction, so the "desk" was a fold up table in the room previously used for breakfast. There was no mention of an additional $20 pet deposit when I booked my room, but they made sure to collect it when I got there. While walking to our room after checking in, we noticed random floor tiles, trash and construction tools laying about. I started to get nervous about what our room may look like. The room itself was visually appealing, minus some brackets that were not removed, or were added and the project was unfinished. We were in a "pet friendly" room, so we didn't have a view, not a big deal. The room had laminate flooring, which looks nice. However, if you go barefoot in the room, and there is the slightest bit of dirt or sand on the floor, you'll feel it! I have no idea why they didn't opt for carpet tiles that could be replaced after "accidents" or pet damage. The end result is a dirty feeling floor and a loud room that echoes. The beds looked really nice. However, they were hard as a rock and very thin. In this case, the wrapping on the box was better than the gift inside! The 2'x8' "patio" off our room was overgrown with grass and weeds and had random pieces of construction wood laying right outside the door. After a long day, we went to use the spa and pool. The spa was not very hot at all. The pool had a green tint to it and was not heated. A shower afterwards was required. While trying to fall asleep on the slab of granite that was our bed, we repeatedly heard other doors down the hall closing. The door closures are set for a slow close finished with a SLAM! Between 10pm and midnight we heard that 9 times! The Waves Restaurant on site is "Closed Until Further Notice", but they still use it for the Continental Breakfast. The selection was basic...pastries, cereal, fruit, juices, etc. They've added a DIY waffle bar, which I tried. The batter had a strange aftertaste so I only ate a few bites of my waffle and grabbed a banana on the way out. Total disappointment for $143 for one night.

« Excellent rooms, views, and service »

We had a top floor room with partial ocean view and it was beautiful and extremely quiet. Room had recently been renovated (nice), with a very comfortable King bed and kitchenette. A very short drive to all that Ocean Shores has to offer. Ocean-front facility, so beach walking was fantastic. Remainder of complex was under full renovation, so their restaurant was not open and a lot was torn up and under construction. Their Manager, Suzanne Frazier, was particularly good to us as Travelocity/Expedia screwed up our billing in a bad way and she fixed all of it. We'll stay here again.

« Under renovation but still nice »

The hotel was undergoing a full renovation but the staff made the stay as pleasant as possible and explained what was going on and when the noise was going to start and stop. They explained what areas were being worked on and made sure all the amenities were still available.

« Great Hotel with beautful view of the ocean »

We had a beautiful room with a great view of the ocean. The staff was amazing. The hotel was undergoing some renovations but they did an amazing job to make our stay great during this time it did not cause any issues. We would definitely stay here again. We are planning a family vacation in the summer and plan to stay at this hotel. Mary at the front desk is great as well as Carolyn.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, spacious and comfortable. Right on the beach, with great views. This was our second time staying here and we'll definitely be back! Good breakfast with lots of choices.

This is my fourth times at this hotel and every time it seems to get better. I would recommend it highly. This Best western has become one of my favorites. The views are amazing and the fireplace is great.

« Closest hotel to the beach! »

Beautiful beach views and fun lighthouse you can climb up and view even more. Always stay here when I'm in ocean shores. The manager Suzanne goes out of her way and all.the staff are awesome. Great big family suite can sleep 8 comfortably! Pool sauna hot tub and full hot continental breakfast in the morning. Best value in town can not be beaten!

« Fun for the family! »

Excellent location to the beach! Good pool and once the restaurant is remodeled it will be great to have that option at your finger tips. Friendly and helpful staff. We will go back in the summer for a warmer time. First time at the coast further north than we normally go so it was a lot colder than we expected. Beautiful area.

« A Short Walk from the Beach »

This hotel is currently being remodeled, but we were not bothered with construction noises either in the morning or evening. We were disappointed that the lighthouse observatory was closed due to storm damage. Also, our hallway on the 4th floor smelled of smoke. The clam cleaning station in the parking lot was very helpful in cleaning up our sand toys. The fitness center was closed, but the indoor pool and hot tub were open. The Suite: it was spacious and comfortable for a family of four. Mattresses were nice and firm. Four fluffy pillows were on each bed. The sofa bed was comfortable enough for our children. The rooms have blow driers, irons and ironing boards in them. The bathroom area had a double sink. The kitchenettes have small fridges, microwaves, sinks and single serve coffee pots. Our coffee pot was very dirty on the inside. We enjoyed our fireplace and also our balcony with an ocean view. Breakfast: during the remodel, breakfast is being served buffet style from 7am-10am in the Waves restaurant. It was very good. Choices included: waffles (with toppings such as syrup, peanut butter, chocolate chips and whipped cream!), bagels and cream cheese, Costco muffins, mini donuts, vaious pastries, apples, oranges, bananas, yogurt, oatmeal packets (with toppings to add), Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Fruit Loops, scrambled eggs with green onions and cheese in them, pork sausage, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, hot chocolate packets & apple cider packets. Customer service was good. We payed $130 (Thurs night) & $150 (Fri night) which was reasonable for what we received. We would stay here again.

    « Great getaway »

We decided to go to Ocean Shores for Thanksgiving weekend. We chose to stay at the Best Western because of the location and they accept dogs. We loved our room with an Ocean view and had a great stay.

    2
    « Failure to communicate »

We planned a Thanksgiving storm watching getaway here with our two dogs. The idea was to settle in at the hotel and not leave except to walk on the beach. We arrived to find the lighthouse viewing room was closed due to a leaky roof. A few hours later when we asked what time the restaurant served dinner we were told it was also closed due to leaks. ?? The plan was NOT to have to drive through the pouring rain in the dark in an unfamiliar city to find a restaurant on Thanksgiving day while leaving the dogs to freeze in the car. Had they notified us in advance that the hotel was falling apart we would have stayed elsewhere instead of spending the rest of our getaway eating microwaved meals in our room. I really feel ripped off that we paid full price for a premium hotel on the beach and this is what we got.

Only at this best western whatever chemicals they use on their bathroom floors makes it very slick I fell cut my toe open and it instantly turned black and blue. I let the Office girls know right away my husband re-wash the floors and I also took pictures and showed her at the front desk

    « Veterans Weekend visit »

My wife and I stayed one night in a 2nd floor suite. We arrived 2 hours before check-in and the staff was very helpful, letting us check in as the room was ready. Our suite was room 202 on the north end of the bldg. It was a partial view of the ocean and storm surf with full view of the dunes and campground below. The room was a handicapped accessible suite. The bathroom was spacious for wheelchair, with a low tub/shower. It was not a roll in shower. Grab bars were plenty as well. The bed was a King size and for a pillow top, seemed very hard! The room as a whole was clean and sharp. The sitting room had an electric fireplace with a fridge/sink/microwave. Very handy. TV service is ok, but you are here for the ocean! Walking/driving access to the beach and ocean is quick and easy. Bring your rain jackets and kickers! We loved walking and being on the beach. We did not use the pool or hot tub, there were plenty of children and families enjoying themselves in them. The evening sleep was ok, but you can certainly hear every footstep from the room above/3rd floor 302 room! Breakfast was very delicious, loved the eggs. Typical egg/sausage link/style breakfast bar with muffins, some fruit, a pancake maker and the like. We enjoyed are stay, have stayed before and will stay again in he future!

    « Enjoy Our Escape »

Wow! What a place? Best Western accommodated us with early check-in without any issues. We booked oceanfront view and it was a great view. The day that we arrived everything is perfect even November weather in Washington. Our family got to enjoy a full day of awesomeness in addition to a nice fireplace to enjoy after our long walk down the beach. Thank you Best Western!!! Special thanks to Mary. She checked us in without a hassle.

« Super sweet and salty stay »

The booking process was wonderful, quick, details on the room and amenities. We have only brought our pups (yorkies named cheese and crackers) to one other hotel so we were super excited to bring them to this hotel. Great location right on/next to beach. Beautiful pool and hot tub area, lobby, breakfast room. The suite on the bottom floor reserved for pups is the room we had.  Beautiful! I loved it! The jacuzzi tub next to the bed, the  electric fireplace in the living room, the tv the shower everything was super nice and super clean. The backdoor that opens to the grassy field between you and the beach was nice. The linens were nice the bed was soft and semi firm but very comfy. There was a 2 inch gap under the front door, so the outside hotel door was loud as it closed every time. We may not have heard it if there was no gap under our door. The ceiling fan in the room was fantastic great power and kept the warm air pushed down with a nice breeze. There was never a smell of dogs and you never heard any dogs. It was lovely.  The breakfast variety was nice. Weve had other best western breakfasts with a few more options but this breakfast was good. It includes scrambled eggs, sausage links, pastries, doughnuts, breads, cereals, yogurts, fruit, waffle makers. If you want to eat dinner/lunch you will need to order delivery or go someplace else to eat, there is nothing within walking distance. I mentioned to the lady on the phone that it was my husband and mine's anniversary.  Well to our surprise when we pulled in to the parking lot they had a sign up for us, it was such a sweet surprise.  They spelled my name wrong but it was still a nice gesture and much appreciated. The main problem we had was our pups ended up getting fleas. Invested with them. Theyve never had fleas and we ended up giving them 3 baths from 3pm to 10am. The tub was filled with little black fleas. The pups scratched all night. My husband woke up with a flea on his face and i had one on my chest and another on my neck later that morning. My husband smashed several fleas in the bed. So needless to say we showered ourselves and the pups and packed up and checked out sooner than we wanted because of the fleas. The staff apologized and asked if their was anything they could do. We didnt want anything done just wanted to let them know. This is the only reason they did not receive 5 stars. Im excited to go back but we wont bring the pups. They are remodeling the pet rooms and removing carpet and putting hardwood. Hopefully that helps.

« LOVE Ocean Shores, a few issues checking in »

My boyfriend and I stayed back in July right before July 4th, which was the perfect time to go because it was nice and quiet. We loved exploring the surroundings, Ocean Shores is awesome! We had a free stay from our rewards points which had been on used to book the stay. The front desk agent had some difficulty finding the account, and after she did and checked us in, she called us up in the room to tell us that we didn't have enough points to have a free night! We had to work with her for at least 30 minutes before she realized that the points had already been applied to our stay.. she wasn't very apologetic for the inconvenience. The room was actually very nice and spacious, and we had a great view of the ocean. We went down for a swim later (after the posted hours stated that kids were no longer aloud in the pool area after a certain time). And we came to find 4 or 5 loud screaming kids running and jumping back in forth between the pool and hot tub, obviously the posted rules are not enforced. All in all I think that it is a very nice Best Western and exceeded my expectations on the room side of things, service is kind of what you might expect. Overall it was still a nice trip.

« Pet-friendly, Nice Amenities, and Reasonable Price »

We stayed in Best Western Ocean Shores in late October 2016 which happens to be the ?rainy season? on the notoriously wet coast of western Washington. There is an unpaved public road from the hotel directly to the beach that I'm sure is quite walkable in the summer. However, during the rainy season, we had to maneuver around extensive ponding and rain-filled potholes on muddy ground to get to the beach. We stayed in a pet-friendly ground floor studio with a partial ocean view. We could not see much of the ocean from the ground floor as most of our view was blocked by dune grass and other vegetation, but we could certainly hear the waves crashing on the shore. I'm sure the views from the second floor and higher were more spectacular, but all pet-friendly rooms are on the ground floor. Outside the sliding glass door, there is a well maintained grassy lawn complete with doggy waste bags and a garbage can. This was a convenient place to take the dogs for their potty breaks several times a day. The studio was spacious with plenty of room for two adults and two large dogs. The kitchenette was nice, complete with a small sink, a mini refrigerator, a small microwave, and plenty of counter space. The bed and pillows were comfortable and allowed for a good night's sleep. We appreciated the continental breakfast which offered a couple of low carb options like scrambled eggs and sausage in addition to the usual yogurt, bagels, toast, fruit, and cereal. We were warned beforehand that building renovations were ongoing and, sure enough, a leaky ceiling in the hall way was awaiting repair. The staff was pleasant, and an indoor pool was available to guests. The wi-fi worked fine for checking email and looking at the news. All in all, the Best Western Lighthouse Inn is a nice place to stay if you're looking for pet-friendly accommodations with nice amenities at a reasonable price.

« Wonderful Hotel in a Beautiful location. »

The rooms are large and many are pet friendly. You are as close to the beach as you can be at Ocean Shores. It has a pool, fitness center and a small breakfast buffet. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They answered all my questions about where to eat, places to visit, etc.

« An OK Place to Stay.. »

My wife and I spent a day and night at The Best Western Lighthouse Suites Inn at Ocean Shores yesterday. The front desk staff offered us a warm welcome when we checked in, they told us about the amenities this hotel offers and gave us directions to our room. This is a dog friendly hotel and they offered our small dogs a snack. Now our dogs love the front desk staff! We saw a sign on the wall explaining there are four rooms undergoing some renovation work ,which begins everyday at 0900am. I was not told of any construction work being done when I called the Hotel to make our reservation, HHHmmm.. We walk into our room and I see the carpet was torn at the entrance to the bathroom. This, to me, did not seem right. We have stayed at many Best Western Hotels before, this is not what I have seen before at Best Westerns. I contacted the front desk to share my finding and concern, they were exploring options when I suggested they correct this after we check out. As we settle in to our room I go to start the faux fireplace, it did not start. Once again I chat with the front desk, who guide me on the start up procedure. Several attempts and it comes to life. A while later I take the dogs for a walk. As we walked the grounds I find several incidents of other dogs waste not picked up. I had bags with me to pick up dog waste, so I cleaned up some of the dog waste. A shame some pet owners do not pick up after their pets, that said, no bags were offered at check in and no bag dispensers with waste bins were to be found on the grounds. A last walk for the dogs after 0900pm we walk out of the front entrance and into the hotel parking lot and I see a person wrapped in a blanket sleeping in a car, a few feet from the front entrance. I share this concern with the front desk. Saturday 0800am We hear drilling and hammering close to our room! OK!, what is going on with this place!? This experience is SO contrary to past experiences we had at other Best Western Hotels. At check out I shared my concerns and disappointment. We received an apology. Sadly, this trip was a disappointment for us, all the staff we met with were great, the room was clean. It seems the hotel and grounds needs some attention and a lot of love. I am sure the renovations are the beginnings of needed love for this hotel.

Enjoyed our weekend getaway. Close to the ocean, great food at Bennett's Fish Shack, closest great tavern/bar with awesome food is the Port Hole Bar. Casino was fun too. I will be back hopefully soon. Staff is friendly and helpful. The wildlife was amazing to watch from our balcony. Deer everywhere we were not in the big city

Place was fairly empty yet they stuck me around the side and half way back?? It would have been nice to have one of the rooms facing the ocean especially since the hotel was not any where close to being full.

the location of this hotel cant be beat. The professional staff, how friendly and helpful they are make this Best Western amazing! Thank you, to desk Clerk Della!! She helped us so many times during our stay and always with a welcoming smile. Della made this location the best staff experience on our trip. She went over and above what we expected and definitely helped with making our vacation a success!! Thank you, Della and the manager. p.s. it does seem time to update the rooms. Other than that, amazing stay!

    « Lighthouse - Ocean Shores »

Very nice place with a great view of the ocean. Had to wait for check in way to long. The restaurant was closed due to remodel (I guess) which was inconventant. One of the front desk personnel should have worn dentures to help her appearance.

It was rather nice to stay at Lighthouse Inn. The map provided to the area could've been a lot better quality. What was given appeared pretty beat up in terms of legibility and was probably copied many times over.

« great beach side inn! »

we visit ocean shores a few times a year. we love the wide open beach, and looking for agates. we've stayed in a couple of different hotels, but i do think the Best Western is my favorite. the staff is very gracious, rooms clean and well maintained and the free breakfast is filling and welcomed! Dont forget this is a pet friendly hotel, so bring your dog!!

« Great Ocean Front Hotel »

They call most hotels "dune front" in Ocean Shores because of the expansive dunes before you get to the water. Don't worry about it. The beach is right there. You can easily stroll into the surf from the hotel. At night the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep. The Lighthouse B/W is a nice hotel. Rooms clean and in good shape. Staff is friendly. There is lots of good and not really and bad here. A great bakery-cafe is located just a couple of blocks away. Definitely the only place we would stay in Ocean Shores.

    3
    « Beach get away »

The pool was freezing and the restaurant we try to order from was a voicemail. Call the front desk and they said it was closed but they still had advertising in the room. Went to the subway and they closed early and wouldn't let us in! So we went to the grocery store.

Great location to watch sunsets and if you prefer, you can drive on the beach with any type of vehicle. Something you rarely find. Great personnel staff. Very informative and helpful. « BW Lighthouse »

Great BW facility. Good hot free breakfast. Gold Crown members are acknowledged. Had ocean view on fourth floor. Price was good. Counter staff was great. The facility is easily accessible, but travelers should be aware that the ocean is quite a ways from the hotel, as all Ocean Shores hotels are.

« Awesome view and great room »

We stayed in 416 and the view and amenities were perfect. Had a great sleep on well supported beds. Actually slept 11 hours! wow what a great retreat. Wish we would have stayed two nights. You can walk out to the beach right from the building.

    5
    « Great wheelchair access »

We travel with a person in a wheelchair and find most hotel rooms are not all that accessible unless you are lucky enough to get a handicapped room. All the rooms here are suites with more than ample room for wheelchairs, except into the bathroom. Toilet is just 1 or 2 steps from the door. We had a room with two queen beds which also came with a sofa/hideabed, twin vanity sinks, and a third sink in the sitting area with the microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. Great access to the beach. Check on renovations during the fall/winter of 2016.

    3
    « Beachy »

Spent one evening there during Labor Day weekend. As is to be expected, the hotel was quite full. The small swimming pool was jam packed with kids and as a result uninviting for us. They do have adult only time, which is an awesome idea. There is an adjacent restaurant. Mediocre but convenient. We had a spacious room that was well laid out with a sitting area closest to the window/balcony. A few issues in that the heat did not work and the plug/drain in the tub was broken and the only way to drain it was to hold it up. I guess the place could use an update. In general, it might be best for families and those who don't require a quiet retreat. Lastly, was disappointed that people were smoking on the immediately adjacent balcony. The no smoking policy should extend to e-cigs, which apparently it does not.

« Good place to stay in Ocean Shores, WA »

It's the closest to the beach, nice rooms, nice people working here, decent continental breakfast (the usual - juice, tea, coffee, fruit, waffles, eggs, cold cereal, oatmeal), great location for beach and getting around, lovely views (our partial ocean view had a perfect view of the ocean and the beachy terrain below, including visiting deer). We usually stay with the parents, but instead we stayed here and were very happy with our choice. We'd stay here again.

    « Ocean Shores weekend »

Seriously dismayed by the room's not having AC. Room was stuffy and hot and had a slight mildew smell. Their only suggestion was to put on the fan over the bed, and when we opened up the balcony door a stream of bugs entered. Room furnishings are also dated and there could have been a better cleaning -there was hair coming out of the couch! Easy access to the beach and the restaurants on a nearby strip. Many of the hotels in Ocean Shores are just sub-par. Yet this was nearly 200 per night Expected a much nicer hotel.

    5
    « Nice place »

A nice place to stay. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, a microwave, dishwasher, kitchen sink, small living room, couch and fire place. The staff were friendly, similar to what you would expect in a family-run hotel. The breakfast was good for a continental breakfast with waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage. I booked a room with a view of the ocean, which is probably a 150 yards from the hotel. Even at that distance, a ocean view room was worth the extra ten or twenty dollars. The hotel is right next to an access road to the beach, which you can drive on. Drove North almost eleven miles on the beach in a four wheel drive after I checked out. Probably would have not done so in a two-wheel drive. Room exceeded my expectations, which does not happen very often

    « Wonderful Seaside Escape »

We stayed at this hotel for our Anniversary. The staff was wonderful, very personable. We loved that the pool was open late and for adults only from 10:pm to midnight. This hotel has a sauna and hot tub also, which we enjoyed. The breakfast was a normal assortment and we had no wait time to get our food. The only down side was my wife did not like the beds, they were very firm and she prefers a pillow top bed. With that said the rooms were spacious, had a separate sitting area and fireplace. The access to the beach was perfect. No steep inclines to get to the beach. We will definitely be going back.

We just checked into our room and are very pleased with our accommodations! Our room has a beautiful full ocean view from the 4th floor, with a nice little balcony. Best of all... it was reasonably priced! We were, however, disappointed that the hotel restaurant, and bar, was temporarily closed. Our room has recently been refurbished, and is in beautiful condition.

« Marijuana smoke flooded our room »

Horrible. People smoked pot on the floor below us on the Ocean Front balcony, and we could not open our sliding glass door or spend any time on the balcony without being exposed to marijuana smoke. Our young kids complained every time someone opened the door. The whole hallway on the floor below us stunk of pot, but the staff would not do anything to determine which quests were smoking and let the rest of the upper floor guests be exposed. Breakfast space was also too small and there were never any seats. Nice location, staff was pleasant but incompetent, and the failure to investigate and oust the pot smokers ruined the trip for the rest of us. Feel ripped off. We paid for an Ocean Front View Balcony we could not use. The hotel is no smoking, and guests know this. Staff should have located those smoking and kicked them out. Just making them pay a cleaning fine won't refund us the hundreds of extra dollars we paid for an Ocean Front View Balcony we could not use. STAY AWAY from this hotel until it gets some guts.

« Remodeled and revisted, both where better. »

It's been over a year since my last visit here and things have changed. Had the pleasure of a dune view room and it was the most peaceful and serene view on could ask for. Smells abound with new carpets, paints and a feel of something new. Found the prices, were lower than previous and I received a value worth the expenditure. Another plus was the staff going above and beyond previous visits. It seems like they were doing more, although there was fewer of them, nice touch! They are truly the unseen actors behind the curtain that keeps the place a hotel where you want to stay. Now the down side, breakfast items are the standards found in any other hotel of this size, nothing to scream about. I was hoping for fresh items, like berries, maybe even an on site mini-egg cook for those wanting a hot omelette. Great place for family and pets, very quiet rooms and close to the beach. Looking forward to many more nights at ths location.

We stayed 3 nights in a hand capped accessible room. The room was great, staff was awesome, however, the bathroom door did not open wide enough to allow easy entrance for my husband's wheel chair we made it w9rk.

« Enjoyable trip to Ocean Shores/Gray's Harbor area except for poor management at BW Lighthouse Suites Inn »

All 11 of us enjoyed our 3 nice, but dated rooms with excellent ocean view. We liked the easy access to the beach, the convenient, although crowded breakfasts, the pool, and the location. Unfortunately, the management was unable to credit my AARP discount due to being victims of computer inefficiency?? It took 3 phone calls to cancel one night's stay?? They are unable to correct a computer glitch on the statement??

« Dated property but in the process of being updated. »

What I booked was a King Size Bed 3 Rooms (1 for my spouse and I, 1 for my 83 y/o mother, and 1 for my daughter, her husband and child) What we got was 1 King Size Room, 1 single Queen size room and 1 room with 2 queen size beds) GRRRrrr!! The Owner manager blamed it on the animal they thought was coming with my daughter and her family and didn't end up coming. The hotel was SO FULL there were no other options. I always travel with a service (dog) animal and I realize that hotel/motel owners are never excited about having animals as guests, but it is what it is and in my case they will just have to deal with me traveling with my dog. When I booked this hotel my ideal room has a King size bed. We both love a shower that has a handheld shower head as we are both super tall people 6' 5" and 5' 9" tall. Most hotel showers hit about the middle of our chests, a handheld shower head eliminates this problem. Most hotel companies/owners don't provide handheld showers except for in the "Roll in Shower" room options, so for two reasons we book the handicap accessible room... (1. The shower being handheld and 2.) The potty being taller and with both of us having bad knees the taller stool as well as hand rails make getting up easier. This room (The 2nd room of our stay, as we were forced to move after the 1st 3 days of our 6 day stay) was definitely NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE, a short stool, no roll in shower/handheld shower, the chair at the desk no arms on the chair, the sofa is so low to the ground it is almost impossible to climb out of after sitting on the sofa. We planned to eat in the room a couple of meals as there is a bar sink, a microwave and a refrigerator but no dishes, no silverware no table and chairs that would make eating in the room handy. The sofa was disgustingly filthy (needs to be replaced) Beds were not at all comfortable. Chair(s) not comfortable. No A/C in the room. The rooms rented as "Partial Ocean Views" were actually NO OCEAN VIEWS, you could hear the ocean, but you can't see it. Since we stayed at this hotel for 6 days (a total of 11 nights between the 3 rooms) at over $200 a night each (after dropping over $2,000 for one family I just thought that they'd go the extra mile to win us over for a future visit, it is safe to say that we were underwhelmed). The staff was nice and they did try with what they could do... They did put up a "Happy Birthday" on the reader board over the front door to my granddaughter "Lili" and for that I thank them. They also were made aware of some housekeeping issues and the staff attempted to resolve them as best as they could but some things just needed a complete overhaul and you can't do that when you've rented out every room in the hotel. Two of the five of us wanted to give this review a 2 out of 5 and 3 of us voted for a 3 out of 5 but neither rating warrants paying over $200 a night :-(

Other than Breakfast, Very Good stay. Breakfast area need an Immediate attention. Only Item, was Waffle and only 2 makers for this busy, Usually sold out hotel. Seating is not enough and long line at the waffle makers. Suggestion is reorganizing seating area and add more waffle makers if this is the only main item serving. yes there is scrambled eggs, omelets, oatmeal and sausages. Once the omelets ran out, it didn't get replaced.

« Last minute reservation for 1 night at the beach »

Check in time says 4pm but got in line at 3pm. 1 person at the desk but was friendly when I finally got up there. Nice quiet dated ocean front motel with unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. Walk out the doors and you are on the beach. I walked both ways for miles. Horses to rent are right out front too. Kitchen suite room had a small frig and glasses and coffee mugs and a coffee pot. Just a 5 minute drive to downtown Ocean Shores.

« don't expect too much for breakfast »

We stayed here in July and August this year and had the same problem with the FREE BREAKFAST. Took our 2 grandchildren on both trips. When we went down to eat breakfast we had the same issue both times. No silverware, No eggs or sausage in the warming trays. I even approached one of the staff there and questioned the missing hot food and was told it would be out shortly. Waited 15 or so minutes and still nothing ever came out of the kitchen. Everyone was trying to make waffles because of the lack of food. Only other option was to eat toast or a muffin or leave. Needless to say, we had to take the kids to McDonald's to eat both times. Front desk was "sorry" for the inconvenience. We are going back to Ocean Shores in October, but not staying here again. Very disappointing. At least this time the pool was clearer and the sauna was working.

« Good location but a tired facility »

This is a popular hotel at the north end of Ocean Shores. Pluses? Location, location, location. Good view of the beach from west-facing rooms. Plastic chairs for lounging on balcony facing beach. Easy beach access. Comfortable bed. Clean, spacious rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Minuses? Bath fixtures and some room amenities are a bit tired. Slooow elevator. Balcony railing was flimsy. If you're at the north end of the hotel your room will be adjacent to a road with lots of beach traffic in the summer. There's also a campground across the road (to the north) with colorful inhabitants who like to party.

    « Great ocean vista »

Do NOT be misled by use of term "fireplace". Ours was nothing more than an electric look-alike which gave NO heat. Pass on this feature if you are looking for a gas or wood fireplace and opt for a room without one. You can play a YouTube video on you laptop with better effect.

« Great Hotel on the Beach »

We were so pleased to see how fantastic our suite was. The view of the beach was great. The onshore breeze was wonderful, The ceiling fan was fantastic. Even thought the location looked a little out of the way on Google Maps it turned out to be perfect. Ocean Shores is a very small town so we were able to walk to and from lunch and dinner with ease.

It's a Best Western. We use them a lot and this is one of the best. We particularly appreciated the Keurig coffee maker with decent in room coffee. Large clean well appointed rooms, view of the ocean.

    « Great oceanfront location »

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in an oceanfront second floor room. We LOVED the roominess, the view, the comfort of the bed, the fast internet, and the friendly staff. There were some negatives: the sliding door to the ocean balcony did not lock. The toilet/shower room door had to be closed to use the toilet, making it necessary to turn on blinding light or use toilet in total darkness (which wasn't great in middle of night). Breakfast started at 7am, which isn't great for guests like us who are still transitioning from east coast time. We happened to arrive on a record breaking hot day, and we discovered there was no air conditioning! In order to keep the room below 80 degrees in the afternoon, we had to keep the blackout curtains closed on the sliding door to the ocean view balcony (although the ceiling fan helped a bit). I would not stay here again in the summer for that reason. Overall, this hotel was a great place to stay near the beach, close to a good local golf course, and had lots of restaurants and things to do.

    « Don't listen to the complainers! :-) »

The best western inn is really a great hotel. I am eleven, and I stayed with my grandparents for two days. I loved that there is a pool, and the breakfast is really good for a hotel. Its true that they only have half of a veiw of the beach, But im not upset about that. I stayed on the first floor, and I had a great time. Me and my grandparents stay here every year.

« Nice location on the beach »

Cute, comfortable, large room right on Ocean Shores beach. Nice value for a family. Our patio overlooked the beach dunes and we had plenty of room for a family of four. Pool was a little small, and the "observation tower" was not really worth the look. Windows were dirty and stair case a little rickety. But the kids liked it and it's the closest to the beach on that block.

    « spotless clean »

We were in town for a fund raiser, and only could stay the one night, most the hotels had two night min, and we were able to get one night at the Best Western. Check in is at 4 and we did have to wait till 4, I should of asked for early check in at time of reservation, because this put us tight for dinner function. what little time we spent in the room we really enjoyed, and I was really impressed with how clean it was. Defiantly would stay here again.

    « Spacious, clean rooms »

What a pleasure to stay in this facility with its large, spacious, and clean rooms. Towels and bed linens were top notch, and bathrooms were good, with a double sink outside of the bath area. Our room had a balcony that looked toward the beach. But be aware that the beaches are far away. Beach access road was beside the hotel. There is a tower for a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Breakfast is good, but crowded during peak vacation times. Swimming pool looked good but hot tub was not operable due to recent damage. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Bring a fan »

Hotel is in a great location right on the beach and at the end of town (easy 1.5 mile walk up the beach to shops). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is comfortable and feels big with a separate sitting area. Rooms do not have A/C though, so if it gets hot (and ours did) you need to open the slider. Not ideal when you're on the first floor (lots of traffic in the area and campground across the street), so not a secure option. Breakfast was usual free fare you find at hotels.

    « Awesome!! »

My wife & I stayed here for 1 night on our trip down the Pacific coast. I called ahead and asked for the top floor and my request was granted...... Great customer service!! The views from the top are amazing, especially at sunset. The room was clean and comfortable, and I found the room to be extremely large and reasonably priced. The Breakfast was good. The swimming pool area was outstanding!!! It's an indoor pool with lots of room. I highly recommend this hotel and I can't wait to return.

    « Warm Pool! »

My son and I stayed here and had a great time. He loved going up to the lighthouse and looking through the telescope. our favorite part was the warm pool. It is the warmest indoor pool I've ever been in. However, the pool water was a little cloudy and I could barely see my feet. The hot tub was closed when we were there. They did have a nice sauna though. The breakfast in the morning was good but a little crowded.

« Large rooms, great views. »

Very nice hotel for a great price. Room was very large, had a great king bed and a view of the beach. Road to beach runs next to parking lot. A very short walk or drive onto the beach. Provided breakfast was usual fair. Attached restaurant is only open 3 days a week, Thurs, Fri and Sat, from 5 to 9 PM. There is a restaurant within walking distance but it's pricey. Will go back.

« Great hotel by the beach »

Everything was great about this hotel except that it does not have A/C. I'd recommend this place for a beach getaway without any hesitance. Good staff, decent breakfast, fairly good WiFi signal in the room, great view from the room and from the lighthouse, nice heated pool and hot tub, all Good!

« Nice hotel with very friendly staff »

Nice accommodations, very close to beach, less that 5 minutes and you are at the waters edge. Beautiful views from the oceanfront room. We stayed in the double Queen that had seating and kitchen area, lots of space for the four of us. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we will return to this location.

    « Hug The Ocean »

The BW Lighthouse Suites Inn located in Ocean Shores, Washington is in a Perfect location. Great, unobstructed view of the ocean and the lovely, soothing rumble of the surf. Hotel staff - everyone from the desk to housekeeping - were pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. Hotel services, breakfast, and suite were all top notch. New beds were just what the doctor ordered; in one word: "Heaven". Thank you for making our vacation wonderful!

« Great view! Great Experience! »

We upgraded to a corner room when we used our rewards discount. It was worth it -- corner room on the top floor away from the road was very quiet.. You could look up and down the coast, as far as the eye could see. The staff was friendly and efficient. We have used this hotel for many visits over the years and have never been disappointed.

    4
    « Great Ocean View »

The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were spacious enough as for noise, there was the typical from the room above us but it wasn't too bad. There is a grassy area between the hotel and the beach and we were able to watch a couple of coyotes from our deck. (Don't worry - they aren't dangerous at all and run when people got close.)

    « Love the sunset »

We stayed here many years ago and loved the town & the motel. It was like we remember. Beautiful view from room of the sunset. The room was very clean. Dishes in cabinet, sink, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot with coffee made it nice. Sofa and fireplace, made it homelike. Bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the horses on the beach. Breakfast was great, eggs, sausage, waffles, juice, fruit and dry cereal. We eat at the Waves Lounge, which is on the premises, excellent food and prices. Make sure you drive through town to see the deer. Hope to visit again one day.

    « Really Nice »

We just stayed for one night but it was really nice. We had a king ocean view with balcony. It had a fireplace and a couples jacuzzi. It was too cold to sit on the balcony (59 degrees and windy at the end of July) but there were two nice chairs we rolled up in front of the slider to the balcony that allowed my to enjoy the view while staying warm. It is a really nice room with double sinks, granite counters, and a really neat little living room area. Wish it were a hair warmer and we were staying longer

    « Excellent hotel »

In our area that we live, Best Westerns are not in great shape. I had seen this one had good reviews so we tried it. While the hotel is older, the renovations they have done have modernized it. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The observatory had a telescope that was really neat. We had a balcony ocean view room..,the sunset was gorgeous. The breakfast was a good hot breakfast. We would definitely stay at this location again.

The location of the hotel is great. The view was very good. The room was very nice although there was some noise from the room above us. The room was very clean and was comfortable. The room was of good size and was a very good value for the price. We were glad that we chose this hotel for our stay.

    « Most Friendly Staff »

The is by far the best hotel to stay at in Ocean Shores. They are SO accommodating and nice. I had to arrange to rent a lift chair for my elderly mother so that she could sit and sleep comfortably (she has an adjustable bed at home). The hotel had no problem having the chair delivered to the room and even kept the chair an extra day so the rental company could pick it up on Monday instead of Sunday which would have cost me an extra charge. Really exceptional service!

    « Consistency Well-Done »

You almost always know what you are getting into with Best Western. I think that is a good thing most of the time. We have never been disappointed with our stays anywhere in the country. Our most recent stay in Ocean Shores, WA. was a delight and the location right on the beach was a bonus.

    5
    « Great sunset views »

Check in went well, good staff took time to take care of our pet friendly room and the coupon to pay for the extras. We were given a room on the wet side which opens up on a lawn and a ocean view. Easy to take the dog out and great view of the beach area. Rooms were comfortable with gas fireplace which gives great ambiance to the room in the evening. the room was large enough to move around without bumping into each other.

    « ocean shores getaway »

We stayed at the Light House Inn last year for the first time. It was right on the beach which was wonderful. Our room had a balcony facing the ocean. The accomodations were clean, staff was friendly, we ate at the restaurant and had a very good meal. The only thing that I think could improve is guests letting their children run wild down the hallways all night. It is distracting and hard to sleep with children being left unsupervised. I had my small grandchildren with me, and I didn;t let them do that. The breakfast room was too crowded, lines for food, and the hotel would only bring out small amounts each time, so it took forever to be able to eat.

    « We had a wonderful time! »

We had an ocean view room on 2nd floor with whirlpool. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Continental breakfast was great. Eggs, sausage, waffles with the typical fruit and dry cereal. The indoor pool is in the lobby, but there weren't a lot of people hanging around so it was comfortable. Pool was very warm. We did have an issue with the hot tub. A piece of tile cut my husband's toe pretty good and the first aid kit was empty. We notified the front desk and someone came quickly with a band aid and alcohol wipe. He seemed very concerned and said he would have someone look at the tub to find the tile, but they kept it open for others to go in. There is a 10pm - 8pm quiet time and they ask that you not use the whirlpool during that time. Overall we had a lot of fun, would probably stay again.

    « Lighthouse Stay »

Really liked the inn. They have a great view of the ocean, there is a lighthouse style lookout on the 4th floor and a viewer so you can see far out to sea. Beach is 500 yards from the hotel. Room was spacious with a large sitting room.and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was warm and the jacuzzi was great. Breakfast was better on the Sunday, more fresh fruit, coffee, very good.

« Great location, near the ocean »

Next to the ocean the BW Hotel a fantastic location. It's worth getting a room with direct ocean view because the view, especially at sunset, is really terrific. The rooms are equipped with a separate seating area and balcony or patio. My room even had a fireplace. The staff is very friendly. In the morning, a free breakfast is served. It also has a pool, which I did not use.

    « Pleasantly Surprised!! »

We booked our trip to the Ocean last minute and chose the Best Western for our stay. The room was nice and spacious for all (we had 3 adults and 3 kids), we even had a partial ocean view!! :-) The front desk lady was super helpful with suggestions for dinner out, and the kids couldn't get enough of the pool! We've stayed at other hotels that we paid more for with less amenities and friendly staff. I was so impressed, I signed up to be a Best Western 'regular' to earn points! I'll definitely be using this hotel again and again!!

« Beachfront with the pup »

We came for a quick weekend getaway with kids and our dog. Great location on the beach, however I wish there were a path through the dunes rather than having to walk along the gravel road back and forth to the water. We stayed on the first floor since we had our dog with us, brought our camping chairs and watched the sunset from the patio. It was nice to be able to dry off the dog on the patio before bringing him back inside through the slider, wish it could be locked/unclocked from outside somehow (we had to have one person wait on the patio with the dog while the other ran around to the front and entered the room from the hall to open the slider). Room was clean and well stocked although the coffeemaker was missing the drawer that the coffee pod fits into. Free breakfast was ample with waffles. There was a fruit bowl with apples/oranges, would have been nice to have a fruit salad or berries in addition. I did have to ask for the milk and decaf coffee to be restocked. My main concern at this hotel is security. There were two exterior doors on the first floor with key card readers that did not work (doors were unlocked at all times). Also, the sliding door in our room did not lock although it did have a bar that went across when it was closed. If I had been alone, I would have refused to stay on the ground floor but luckily I had my dog for extra security!

« Wonderful views at a comfortable relaxing hotel »

Great hotel right at the end of the road to the beach, stunning westerly facing rooms give the best views and the view from the tower is worth the few stairs to the top. Good breakfast available and a restaurant available for other meals. Fast a friendly check in and for a 3 night stay good value for a beachside hotel. Finishing some remodelling work around the place while we were there, but never interfered with us at all.

    « Great Ocean Shores Get-Away »

We are return customers to this Best Western. The room is very comfortable, including the bed and the pillows. This is the first hotel I've stayed out where both my husband and I do not wake up with a neck ache from horrible pillows or mattress! The continental breakfast is a definite perk as well, and the hotel is pet friendly. To note, you do not notice any pet odors in the pet friendly rooms - only difference is they are all designated to the first floor which seems to be standard for any hotel. They are currently remodeling the hotel, so upgrades are happening to all of the guest rooms, so I will be looking forward to staying here again in one of the newly remodeled rooms. The location of the hotel is perfect also - quick access to the beach and if you want to swing onto the main strip to shop or have dinner. Staff are all very friendly, and the GM Suzanne really cares about the satisfaction of every guests stay. We had a couple of problems during our stay last year, but we voiced our concerns and were extremely pleased with the response of management to resolve our dissatisfaction. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are searching for places to stay around Ocean Shores.

    « Dog Friendly Hotel »

The hotel has just gone through a remodel and it looks great. I was very surprised at the size of our room. We are a family of four and it did not feel like we were stepping all over each other because there was plenty of room for all of us, including our Boxer dog. Before we had even checked out I had already called my mom and told her that BW Lighthouse is the place to stay next time she is at the ocean. The only issue we had was the Wi-Fi. It had very spotty service but we were there to enjoy family time and not play on the internet so I was ok with it not working that well. The hotel was fully booked during our stay, yet the hotel was very quiet. Not a lot of noise from the hallways or upstairs and we were by the ice machine and elevator. We had a great time and will very likely be back this summer for another stay. Thank you for the great hospitality!

« Love the renovations at our favorite place to stay »

Hotel is under renovations which included updating the carpeting and a new paint coat. Can't wait to see what the rest will bring. Rooms on first floor are dog friendly and couple of rooms are handicap friendly. We love the partial ocean views on the first floor (rooms 104 and 105). Room 103 has its door on the outside of the hotel and its own mini deck and has always intrigued us. There is also a good pool, sauna and hot tub. Staff is always friendly and if there is ever anything that needs to be fixed they get right on it. Rooms have little kitchenette which includes a microwave and mini fridge. There is also the typical Best Western free breakfast. Hotel has washers and dryers (hopefully dryers will be updated in renovation process since they didn't work that great. Hotel is at a great location, with just a few feet from the beach and a short walk to downtown Ocean Shores.

    « Getaway »

For a one night stay, this hotel is perfect. You can walk to the beach so you can leave the car once you arrive. The rooms are spacious. The indoor pool is nice and warm. Breakfast in the morning has a lot of variety. They allow pets and there is plenty of space to walk the dog.

« Great stay in Ocean Shores Best Western »

Great location, room was extremely clean and spacious including the handicapped bathroom. Couch and chair were very comfortable. Queen size bed was comfortable. There was not an A/C unit in the room, which is unusual due to we are from Florida and like it very cool in the room to sleep; this was only a minor issue. Great view from the balcony; we saw several deer the evening we were there and also early the next morning. Staff was exceptional; very professional, outgoing and helpful on the local area places/activities.

« We Loved Our Stay »

We spent one night here and would have loved to stay longer. Check in was quick and easy and we had no problems. The hotel is under remodel so the hallways smelled of new carpet but looked clean and new. We had an ocean front King suite with a balcony. It was great. The room was clean, well appointed and the closest one to the beach, the balcony was just wonderful, the beach was as close as you can get in Ocean Shores. The bed was comfortable, we slept great and heard no noise above us. We would love to return to this hotel and spend more time on the balcony. The service was good and the breakfast very regular. A clean room near the beach, I would highly recommend and hope to return some day.

back sliding door to deck was extremely hard to open/close and lock was broken completely. No utensils or dishes of any kind in the small kitchenette. Only a 1-cup Kureg coffee brewer. I brought my favorite coffee to brew and nothing to brew it in. Breakfast only served till 10am. This is a vacation destination, where guests like to sleep in before breakfast. Found two spiders in bedding.

« Great for what we need »

Staying 2 nights and really enjoying our time. We have our 4 and 10 year old with us and our golden. We are staying in a first floor room which also has a mini fridge and microwave. The room has a sliding glass door with a little patio. It's perfect for the door and for beach views. The hotel is going through construction, but they are doing a great job concealing their "rough" spots. The breakfast area was small for the amount of people, but their team did their best to keep everything fresh. We really enjoy it and it's soooo convenient.

    « Good family visit »

We recently visited this motel for two nights as part of a family gathering. The motel was pet friendly and that was a must for this trip. Check in had some issues -- the rate quoted was correct for the first night but went down for the second night which was not communicated by the front desk. Everything was resolved quickly with that. The room was nice with a refrigerator, separate sitting area, and a couch as well. Overall the room was in good condition but the lamp had some issues. We did have routine issues with our keycards -- they worked but you had to get the speed just right. Breakfast was on the high end of average for a continental breakfast. The hot tub and pool area was good. The location was great -- right at the beach and convenient to the amenities of town but not in the middle of town. We had a first flight floor pet friendly room which had a sliding glass door to take the dog out which was very convenient. However that also allows unleashed pets from next door to try to come in to your room as well. The lighthouse is also a nice feature. In total, this is a good choice for Ocean Shores.

    « Great Stay! »

The staff was excellent! We accidentally left an item in the room and the property manager called us as soon as they found it and were quick to return it to us. The staff is super friendly and were quick to answer questions and help in any way. The hotel is right on the beach with a direct access beach that is right next to the hotel. Wonderful get away!

    « Outdated - not a good deal for the $ »

There are plenty of better hotels for the price! The rooms are outdated and have a musty smell, The bathroom ceiling had a big crack and the bathroom fan sounded like it was going to take flight. The room was hot and no temperature control. TV channels were limited and one of the closet doors was off the track. Every time someone open and closed their door in the hall, I could hear it. An up note... the bed was comfortable (pillows were not).

I enjoyed my stay here, we brought our little pup along for the trip. It was perfect weather, staff was friendly, and our room was perfect as well. I loved that there was a patio, and the room was huge! Very relaxing, and nice to get away, we even had breakfast before off to the beach!

    « Fun »

Was a fun stay! The floor we stayed on smelled of weed but they said it was due to painting... The stair well had mold but our room was fine! I like the continetntal breakfast! Staff was friendly! We will most likely return!

    « Not bad »

Make sure to check your bill and ask questions at check in. I was overcharged, but once brought to their attention, they fixed it right away. breakfast was good. internet did not work in the room though. View was great for the ocean view rooms. Pool is nice, but hot tub wasn't hot enough..almost the same temp as the pool. hot tub also very slick as you get in. I ended up slipping as I went in and got a nasty bruise from it. walls are thin, and you can hear anyone above you walking around. great location right on the beach.

    « Ocean Getaway »

The Best Western at Ocean Shores, WA was pretty close to perfect. We stayed with our dog which limited our room selection but all three of us were content with our location and we will select this room again. The internet/tv situation could use an upgrade but was adequate. The continental breakfast was also well suited to folks who do not want to pack up and go out for breakfast. Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereals, toast, pastries, and yogurt should suffice for most. And a Costco discount...

Great hotel right on beach. Razor clam digging just steps away. great sleep with ocean noise. great little town with great food. just 25 minutes to great winery and fish charters. In northwest Washington a must stop on your journey. The staff is friendly and hotel very clean. Continental breakfast could be a little better but satisfying. just 2 hours from seattle. great drive full of scenery

The hotel over all is great, fast check in/out, friendly staff, nice clean rooms. With the pool, hot tub, exercise room, also a restaurant and bar right in the hotel you really never have to leave. And with a room that faces the ocean you get a beautiful view during the day at sunset and night.

This is Best Western at its best. This hotel was great. Nice big room with comfy beds. Everything was sparkling clean in the room and breakfast area. I always check online before booking and see what people have to say . I will always try to book Best Western if the price is right. This hotel was above our very high expectations.

    « It's What It Is...... »

First off, it is Ocean Shores. And it is also about the closest you will be to the beach. So there is that. However, they are doing work (which we did know about), so the interior is a bit messy right now. We were on the first floor, right by the road that goes to the beach, so those rooms will be LOUD early in the morning, as vehicle after vehicle flies down to the beach for crabbing. It is also the only way to the beach, and can be a bit scary walking it with young children (so be forewarned). The breakfast is well run, and efficient. I used the exercise room and on our first night OS was having a mini heat wave, the man at the desk was happy to help me open up the door so I could get a breeze in there. (also, the map on the hotel room door is not accurate, about where the exercise room is located) The desk employees were overall very helpful and courteous, as were those manning the breakfast. I found I needed the windows open for fresh air nearly the whole visit. It isn't easy to keep a building fresh that close to the ocean - and the rooms are on the musty side. Fresh air, no issues. Overall, it is better than the last place we stayed at on OS, but not at the level you expect of Best Western (my husband stays with them often for work). But, if you are there, be sure to take the elevator to the 4th floor, and walk up to the top of the lighthouse. That was my sons' highlight of the stay!

    « Spring break with a view »

This is our first time in this hotel but we often stay in Best Western hotels. The breakfast was good, although crazy busy as the hotel was booked full for Spring Break. The staff were quick to replenish food and clean plates while people waited for an open table. The suite room was nice with a small table, sofa, kitchenette (microwave, coffee, mini-fridge), electric fireplace and balcony. The rooms were noisy so pay extra for top floor and non-connecting rooms if you like quiet. The best is the lighthouse tower which is accessible from the fourth floor via a spiral staircase. The walk to the beach is short. We'll be back again.

    2
« Pass on the Jucuzzi »

We had a very large, comfortable room with an ocean view as good as any available from a motel room in Ocean Shores. Unfortunately, we unwittingly booked a 3rd floor room with a Juczzi, and the folks on the floor above us decided to use their Juczzi at 9:05 p.m.--15 minutes after I went to sleep. When I called the desk to report that I had been awakened by the racket coming from upstairs, the woman at the desk told me that quiet time doesn't start until 10:00 p.m. I told her the folks upstairs weren't violating quiet time, they were using the noisy equipment for which they had paid good money. She didn't want to understand the problem. At 10:00 p.m. I called to remind her that "quiet time" had arrived. At 10:08 p.m. the noise stopped. I received no apology for having lost a night's sleep.

    « Excellent girls weekend »

My best friend and I went here 2 nights for a girls weekend get away. Everything was perfect. Room was spacious, clean and the view was incredible. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very yummy. Waffles, Danishes, yogurt, toast, bagels, cereal, scrambled eggs with cheese, onions or plain. Sausage, Apple and orange juice or coffee. Highly recommend this hotel.???????????? already have booked our 13 year anniversary and birthday romantic get away. Can't wait!!

I like standing in ankle deep water - NOT! I asked the front desk to have maintenance correct the problem, they had all day to fix the problem. The next morning, ankle deep water again! I complained to the front desk, but to a deaf ear!

the BW Lighthouse is located outside Ocean Shores and very close to the beach. Checkin Staff was very friendly. We got a room with oceanview located in the 3rd. Floor. « Okay stay »

Hotel staff were nice and it was a great location on the beach. The pool was shut down and the hotel was being painted and cleaned up - so some inconvenience. It would have been nice to know these facts and/or offered a discount.

    « Light House Suites »

Overall a nice place with good ocean view frontage rooms. Even in stormy weather you can enjoy the ocean views from the comfort of your room. Enjoy the warmth of the room, fireplace ambiance and a hot cup of coffee while you view the raging surf during a storm. Excellent view rooms. Or just enjoy the pool, whirlpool and sauna or use the exercise room. Breakfast that will please anyone.

« A Great Place to "De-Compress" the Stress Away »

For Spring Break this year, we decided to come back to the place we really can sit back and relax. We were given a corner room on the fourth floor with an awesome view of the ocean. The room exceeded our expectations. Due to an extended power outage due to a storm, we had trouble connecting our various devices and phones to the hotel's internet. After a few tries, we were able to get the matter dealt with. To improve this hotel, more effort should be put into the free breakfast that is provided. The staff for the most part were very kind and helpful especially in giving us directions to a place to eat when the power was out in Ocean Shores.

« Best bang for buck + clean »

I always try to stay at best Westerns, they are usually moderately priced and CLEAN. I also like the included breakfast which i think saves us money. The breakfast at this location was a little disappointing, green bananas, not much of a pastry selection compared to the BW's that I have stayed at. They called me the day before and said my room w/ 2 queens had a plumbing issue and replaced it with the only available room which was a king bed. I was traveling with a friend and we had to share a bed, it worked but was not the best. They discounted my room to make up for it, so they did what they could.

« Best Place on the Beach »

With great beach access this contiues to be one of my favorite places to stay at Ocean Shores. The staff are professional and helpful. My only negative is the restaurant isn't open often enough and has a limited menu. If it weren't for this, this would be an Excellent Rating! If you want to walk out of the hotel to the beach or want a quiet place to stay this is a great hotel. Far enough off the main drag to be quiet, but not so far that it's an issue.

    « Great staff! »

Every time we visit Ocean Shores, we always stay at this hotel. Their jacuzzi room is wonderful! You can actually see the ocean from the jacuzzi!!!! Their tub is HUGE! Youcan easily have four people get in it! The hotel is also right by the beach and you can walk to the beach! But the best part about this hotel is the staff. Their staff is very friendly, nice and welcoming. Custmer service is the key point of how my husband I chose which hotel to stay at. After trying out different hotels in Ocean Shore, we know this is the place! If you want to receive great service, stay here!

« A Beautiful Two Day Stay in February »

We had an ocean view on the 4th floor and it was fantastic. You need to be on one of the higher floors to get a good view otherwise you have the sand dune as your view. Friendly staff and good service. Breakfast was typical hotel serve yourself, but adequate.

    « Beachfront Hotel »

This Best Western is the only beachfront hotel in Ocean Shores, just a short walk to the beach. The room was awesome. I wasn't aware when I booked the stay that the room had a fireplace, cool. Also, the partial view was actually a full view to the south. The breakfast was good, scrambled eggs and sausage links, cereals, muffins, fruit and waffles. The property was in the process of renovation, I know once finished the Best Western Lighthouse will be a very good value for future guests.

« Okay stay, really it was 2.5 stars but I'm being generous »

2.5 stars for our stay here but can't post that so I will give it 3, to be generous. Okay stay, with a few exceptions. They closed the hot tub and pool, for only the few days we were here! No discount for loss of these amenities and zero mention of this while reserving the room, didn't mention the constant construction too. (Actually a good thing as they really need to update) Restaurant and bar also closed, no mention of that when we reserved either. We had a lovely fourth floor room (at a premium price) that needs a few changes like new carpet, with a full view of the ocean but there were so many people smoking on their balconies next to and below us we couldn't sit outside and enjoy it. There is a non smoking policy on the balconies clearly posted but obviously not enforced. I'm sure the clouds of smoke and vape helped a bit with the hordes of Mosquitos that swarm you from the marsh below the rooms. The room was clean, nice comfy beds with good linens. The pillows are terrible, bring your own from home. The curtain pull was broken and the sliding door and screen were sandy or rusty, hard to move back and forth. Some areas quite dated, I will come back after they renovate but they will probably hike the already high prices (wayyy over priced for off off off season with the pool and restaurant closure and the ongoing construction). For now stay elsewhere, lots of deals to be had during the winter months. The free breakfast was ok, (hey it's free). But zero variety from day to day. Great waffles, butter is in the mini fridge across the room. Oranges, boring red delicious apples (who even eats these kind anymore?), and brown spotted bananas. Your one choice of yogurt is Yoplait, full of chemicals and aspartame. They had some sugar cereals, and pretty dry bagels and bread to toast with the boring standard grape and orange marmalade. They did offer peanut butter and honey, nice touch. The hot portion of brekky is powdered reconstituted eggs, and greasy sausage links in pork skins that had to be peeled off. Horrible, no thanks to this part the next days, having tried it the first. What's with the coffee and tea? Nothing fresh made, and only black tea (no green tea available, would be much healthier) and a few sugary herb teas). Good thing I brought my own. Orange and apple juice rounded out their breakfast. I made a meal of a waffle and an orange with juice. My friend loves processed food and ate my eggs and sausage. :) For now in the off season unless they offer a killer deal, stay elsewhere.

« Stay here at least once a year - Always seems to be changing owners. »

This is the first time I visited without my son. I came down for a friend's 50th birthday party. It seems as though the hotel might have changed ownership or management yet again. The breakfast bar has cut back quite a bit. Use to have biscuits and gravy in addition to the sausage and eggs. No bacon, cinnamon rolls or fresh fruit this time. Also the card key wasn't working to my room. I carried two cards up in my hand and inside the little sleeve they were given to me in. Neither of them worked so I went right back down to the front desk. I went right upstairs and only one of them worked this time. I put my things away and on my way out I asked them to fix the keys again. This time I was told, "Don't put them next to your credit cards or cell phone this time." I told them that I hadn't put them anyway the last two times, I just carried them in my hands. I didn't appreciate being treated as though I was the problem with the keys. It happened over and over again during my stay. Kind of a pain in the butt.

« Friendly staff, got a bad room »

Although the room was nice, the location of it was not so nice. Paid a premium for a corner room, got one on a lower floor next to the entrance to the beach. Traffic going back and forth most of the day and night, people walking could easily see right into the room if we had the drapes open to view the ocean. Felt like we were on display at a zoo. Then the people above us checked in... (Interesting since I asked for a top floor, and the people checked in after us got a higher floor. They do not assign specific room numbers when making reservations, they assign when you check in.) I don't understand why people have the need to stomp across the room over and over. Felt and sounded like a herd of elephants were doing the tango! The front staff was very pleasant when we checked in which is becoming a rarity. I would definitely stay here again, but only on a top floor.

    4
« Good location, Close to the beach. »

The hotel is steps from the beach Which makes it great if you want to take a walk or a quick run. They have a great observation tower to sit and sip your morning coffee or watch the sunset! The rooms are spacious with a couch, large screen TV, and fireplace. Our ocean front rooms had a beautiful view with a nice balcony. The Staff was friendly. They had a great free breakfast with a nice assortment of food. They also had free newspaper, business center and indoor pool. We used the free shuttle to the Casino. Our drive Stan was funny and very knowledgeable. It made this a wonderful place for a weekend getaway.

    « great winter getaway »

the oceanside upper floor rooms and balconies are excellent for storm watching or catching the sunset. great staff and wonderful rooms, plenty of space to move around without bumping into furniture or other people in your room. the rooftop 360 degree lighthouse-style observatory was a hidden bonus, you can see into town and miles down the beach in all directions. the only downfall is breakfast. skip it and go into town..

« Charged $100 for throwing cigerette buds in our room garbage instead on ground »

WOW! BEWARE of this hotel! I just checked my checking account balance and noticed a $100 charge besides my $274 charge for two nights at this hotel. When I called the hotel I was told the charge was because we smoked in the room. LIE! NOT TRUE! We threw cigarette buds in our room garbage instead of leaving them on the ground outside the front door area (because the hotel provides no ashtrays outside) that was why charged $100 ...yes $100 for having placed used buds in the garbage in our room. I was told that the maid said the room smelled like cigarettes (after she emptied the garbage) NO ONE smoked in the room, I do not even smoke only my boyfriend does.. I'm the one who told him to throw in garbage and not litter on the ground. This is crazy! So.. I won't trust this hotel if I was you. Wonder what else they unfairly charge customers for and get away with it? They cannot be trusted with your credit or debit card. I will be calling Best Western corporate and posting on other travel sites to share my story as well. Can you believe it?

    « Super friendly staff »

I was originally staying at another hotel however when we arrived we were extremely unhappy. I called the Best Western and they were very friendly and the rooms were equipped with the items we were hoping for. The switch was very easy. It was a great hotel to bring a dog to.

« Good for the price »

Good location, close to the beach. Clean and updated, nicely appointed except for the phony electric fireplace. Ocean front rooms have a beautiful view and a nice balcony. Our room was directly across from the elevator and we would have requested a move, but it was New Year's Eve and they were booked. As it turned out, we weren't bothered by any noise except hearing footsteps above us. The Waves restaurant adjoining has a great view to the south and the surf. We didn't eat there so I can't give it a review. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will return.

    5
« Great rate on new years eve »

All the other hotels we normally stay at, Ocean Shores all jacked up there rates for New Years Eve. We had stayed here in the past. But have stayed mostly at other hotels up the road. We generally visit the ocean about once a month. We will look at staying here more.

    5
    « Winter Fun »

We enjoyed the viewing tower at the hotel. You can see the area from the comfort of indoors. The pool was comfortably warm for our young children and we enjoyed the hot tub too. The hotel is a convenient walking distance to beach, but also right on the beach approach road if you prefer to drive on the beach.

    5
    « Best Winter Getaway »

What a best kept secret! The hotel is steps from the beach and they have a great observation tower from which to watch the sunset! The rooms are large but a bit rustic. They boast a fireplace but don't get your hopes up as it is little more than a picture of a fire. Go for the rest of the experience! If you want the casino experience, take the shuttle from the hotel door rather than driving.

    4
« winter visit to Ocean Shores »

The motel it close to the beach. The pool and sauna were nice to have when the weather is terrible. All the exercise equipment worked fine. I still get irritated when Best Westerns still charge $20 per night for a small dog. The properties sure allow children for free. Also, I get irritated when the Best Western web site, the reservation system, and the hotel all give different prices. Usually we are happy with the properties though.

« Great Views! Lovely Rooms! »

"Oceanside" truly is that - you are right on the beach. Our first floor room was dog friendly (we had our Golden Doodle and Boston Terrier) - and we loved the sitting area with the gas fireplace in our room that looked right out to the Ocean. We will stay here again for sure!

Stayed at the Best Western for our anniversary. Room was spacious, good condition. Had a jacuzzi tub in the room. 1st floor rooms have a patio door, good for pets. Suggest an upper level if you want a view of the ocean as 1st floor rooms do not have a view. Friendly desk staff, easy check-in and check-out. Bed was a little noisy, but comfortable. Will stay here again.

« One person spoiled the visit »

Enjoyed the facility and all but one rude person at check in desk spoiled my stay. Not willing to give assistance as I had my hands full getting down the hall to my room with cart full of bags and small dog on leash. Too bad she did not know how important her attitude was. My friends mentioned it to someone at their nearby hotel and they knew of this person. She obviously has a reputation. Too bad.

« Storm watching at Ocean Shores Washington »

the hotel was very good. very nice breakfast facility. It had free newspapers, 2 PCs, printer, large screen TV, fireplace, large selection of continental breakfast. 3rd and 4th floors have very good views of the beach. We drove to the south end of town and watched the breakers hit the North Jetty. That was exciting. At high tide and with the 20 ft swells, it was quite a site at the jetty.

« Great place for pets! »

We stayed one night with our dog for a quick get-away to Ocean Shores. Their dog policy is one of the best of any hotel I have encountered. Their entire first floor is dedicated to pets. Other hotels require you to pay for relocation if your pet barks and disturbs the neighbors, this hotel requires a phone number to contact you if you leave your pet in the room alone. Our dog doesn't bark as far as we know but I had never felt comfortable leaving him alone in a hotel before and getting hit with a couple hundred dollar fee! We were able to leave him alone here and go to dinner, without worry. They also are all-breed friendly! The rooms are spacious and nice enough. Nothing fancy, just a regular hotel room. We didn't feel the room smelled at all, as others have mentioned. Our room had a fireplace which was hard to get to work. The beds as others have mentioned are a little on the firm side but doable. We had a 'dune view' room, which faces parallel to the ocean. Be sure to get specifically the ocean view room if you want to look at the waves :) The hallways on the first floor were a little yucky (nothing terrible). They had obviously been cleaned thoroughly but animal residue stuck around. Breakfast was great; coffee, teas, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, sausages, eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit and more! The pool is nice and big and has a 'adults only' time in the evening. Great for couples who want to spend some time together without splashing/screaming kids! The front desk was exceptionally nice and helpful. And this is the closest hotel to the beach, a quick walk and you can enjoy the sand! I would definitely go here again, if we bring our pets with us.

    5
    « Storm Watching »

Full ocean view on the third floor at the Lighthouse Best Western is the best seat in the house at Ocean Shores. High winds kicked up the surf while my wife and I watched the action from our cozy room. We even saw a mamma coyote and her three pups playing near their den in the high grass of the sand dunes below. The beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet, very clean, and the kitchenette was spacious. The rooms are also spacious and smartly set up for privacy.

What a great room. Large with a fireplace. When I booked my room it specified a "partial ocean view." However, I thought it was actually a full ocean view even tho it was a side room. Breakfast was excellent even tho somewhat crowded on Sunday, but plenty of room on Monday. A good selection of breakfast foods.

« Beware, Needs A Full Remodel and is Very Dirty! »

We stayed here for two nights this Summer. We opened the door to our pet friendly room on the bottom floor and it smelled like a litter box. We opened the window, but it too strong of a smell to stay in the room. Also the fire place did not worked. After 10 minutes we wheeled our suitcases out and we asked to be moved. They found us another pet friendly room and we smelled it first. Said we would take the room, but were stopped by the maintenance man before heading there because that fireplace did not work either. They ended up upgrading us (is what we were told) to a suite that you had to go outside to access. It did not have a couch and was super small compared to our other double bed room with a living room. Not an upgrade at all, it was worse. At least the fire place worked (I guess). It was on the end to the next to the busy public beach access road which was terrible. The furnishings were old and it was so dirty. We kept seeing spiders all over and realized there was a spider nest in the inside window next to the little tiny dining table w/ two chairs. Ended up killing more than 15 baby spiders. This hotel had the worst beds I have ever slept on. Woke up the next morning and had to ice my back. I don't have a bad back either. The beds are hard as rocks. This hotel room should be charge at nothing more than $69.99 a night. We paid $183 a night (that was with taxes). You also sign a pet waiver that says at no point will you leave your pet in your room alone even in a crate, yet you are not allowed to have the dog anywhere else in the hotel. If you have a family plan on eating separately in the breakfast area while one person stays behind with the dog. Other choice is to take you food back to your filthy room where you will not have an appetite to eat. Not pet friendly at all. There was also another guest at breakfast that was complaining about this pet rule to a staff member. We decided to only stay at the the Quinault Resort after this experience and leave our dog behind. Which is exactly what we did later in the summer.

Nice place to stay for the night, pet friendly which is why we stay. No in room movies, makes it kind of boring at night. They do have a DVD player though. There is a Redbox at the local grocery store. Not much of a night life in Ocean Shores. The dogs like the room and the beach.

The overall experience was nice. The Wi-Fi was terrible. WE unable to stay connected at any given time. We spent a lot of time in the room being it was the first time in six months we got away for a couple days. I had been recovering from back surgery.

I used to stay here at the BW Ocean Shores on business. Now that I am retired, I can enjoy what it has to offer al the more. I especially like the proximity to the beach compared to other hotels in the area. A great value! Thank-you for your hospitality!

« Poor Quality for the Money »

The bed quality was poor, this location was the least desirable overnight in the 7 days we spent in the USA. The beach location was terrific, but evening and foggy weather didn't allow us to enjoy that too much anyways.

Room & view were great. They have managed to minimize the smoke smell from the casino, in the hotel area. The seafood buffet was awesome, & the music in the bar made you want to get up & dance, but was Not impressed with Emily"s breakfast.

I stay at this hotel every year for a couple of nights. I have dogs that they accommodate. The rooms are clean. I have never had a pet odor in any room. The staff is professional and very nice. I had the pleasure of eating at the Waves Restaurant and it was amazing. The view spectacular. Value is great. I would never stay anywhere else.

« Beautiful Ocean View , nice room - horrible management!!!! »

My husband and I were on a state wide motorcycle trip-enjoying the ride and all that Washington state has to offer. All that fresh air - we were tired by 10 pm so we were asleep when the banging and pounding started. It continued waking us both up , my husband called and was told the people next to us had locked themselves out and they had a dog in the room- maintenance was working on it. Ok- we lay down waited for it to end after another 1/2 hour , we called again. This time we were told that the manager was also there and that that person had instructed them to say that they could give us a discount on a future stay or a reduction in our night. At midnight the banging abruptly stopped. Come morning, no apology or discount was given, in fact nothing was even mentioned! My husband who is a member of the rewards program complained to the manager who answered us with the usual blah, blah, blah. My point is there has to be a master key to get into a room! No way should maintenance be banging at all hours because someone comes in late and locks themselves out of their room!

Services and staff all do their very best to welcome you and keep you comfortable. The location so close to the breach was beautiful. I had an excellent experience. I will recommend it to anyone. My main reason for my trip was to locate a home for relocation and retirement. The staff helped me by providing me many pieces of information that was both helpful and beneficial. They made my search fun and personal to themselves.

Rooms were great, but there as a mix up from the get go. We has asked for a ocean view with a King and ended up with a ocean (almost) view and two double beds. I liked that we could bring our Dog along and I am sure that she enjoyed it. I did like the fact that I asked for my wife's name to be on the Marquee for her milestone marking birthday and it was. Overall all I would say it was a nice stay for just the one night. But the cost did out weigh the comfort.

Wonderful location. It states that it is ocean front, but it is a bit of a walk to the ocean. Beautiful hotel. Great breakfast. I would recommend this to anyone in the area. There is a "crows nest" on top of the building for a great view for pictures.

    « Excellent, Welcoming Service »

I made reservations at the Shilo Inn where I asked them if they had flat screen televisions as I usually like to watch Netflix when I stay at a hotel for pleasure. They told me they did, but when I got to the room the television was one of those big huge boxes. For almost $200 per night I definitely thought there should have been a flat screen TV. The most annoying thing was that they lied about it. I called the Best Western where they informed me that yes indeed they had a flat screen TV. The lady at the front desk was delightful, funny and made us feel welcome. She explained all of the amenities and has us checked in within 10 minutes. If I go to Ocean Shores again, there is no question that I will stay at the Best Western. The Lighthouse view with the telescope was fantastic. I could see a 360 degree view of Ocean Shores. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a beautiful, full view of the Pacific Ocean!
