Our room was not clean at all. There was hair in the tub and on the toilet seat. There were cobwebs on the wall and the next day we found a cockroach crawling on the wall. I was going to tell the front desk when I went to get more towels however, he was eating pizza and handed me towels with pizza hands. Clearly he didn't care so I didn't say anything to him. We did mention the roach to the cleaning lady and she said they just exterminated 2 weeks ago and she wasn't surprised. I now see another online review from 2 weeks ago that there were roaches.
The room was small, but very quiet! We had a very nice stay! Clean room, and good selection of food at breakfast time! Male staff members were rude, but the female staff were very helpful and always served our needs with a smile. It seemed as though it was a chore for them to do anything!
Not a good property. Usually a Plus property is one of the nicer ones. Not here. Usually there is a place to buy water, juice etc. This place had a cooler, but it was empty. Normally on check in, our Diamond status gets us a free water or snack. No acknowledgement at all here. The towels had black stains. The tub took forever to drain. One drawer of the dresser would not stay closed. The ac did very little to remove humidity. Then there was the breakfast if you can call it that. 7:30am. 1 small nasty looking omelet, 2 pcs of half cooked bacon, some pop tarts and bread for toast. That was it. I spent 25 years travelling and staying in hotels. This one was bad. Never again.
We stayed here last year and liked it just fine. It's still "pretty good" but customer service issues are starting to crop up: > As others have mentioned, trash cans appear neglected. > Desk clerk allowed us to park our bikes under the veranda but we had to share that space with his car. This habit is increasing and a real turn off for me: Employees using this space as their parking spot. > Our room was missing the coffee maker, I asked twice and got a "replacement". Next morning I find out that it's broke and doesn't work - smooth move - front desk guy is long gone and it's someone else's problem now. > TV guide is messed up, channels don't match the guide, so you're left with "channel surfing" to find something to watch. > Fitness center is missing some dumbbells, so there are few complete pairs, we didn't try the equipment. None of these things are a big deal but, they add up to reduce the overall experience and value.
Horrible experience , front desk both check in and check out not friendly at all, dirty property , plastic bottle in grass and trash overflowing, Lamp shades in room is covered in soot, tv guide does not match any channels, so it's hard to find anything, front staff never gave internet code, breakfast was an absolute joke, containers empty all over the place, no eggs, not 1 single bread option.. all empty, when I asked the clerk for more eggs, he said he was getting and did not know the bread was empty however, there was not single muffin or bread anywhere. He put out 6 slices of bread and then stood there, no tongs, nothing. Very very bad experience
The hotel and room were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you are looking for top of the line amenities you will be extremely disappointed. If you are looking for a clean place with an adequate breakfast at a very reasonable rate this hotel will meet your needs. The location was convenient for my needs.
This place is DISGUSTING!!!! Ants EVERYWHERE, so staff EVER at front desk, smelled TERRIBLE. When you tried to call them (which I did more than 10 times in 1 day) to address the problems with my room NO ANSWER ever! I will NEVER stay here again
The hotel was dirty. There was a trashcan outside the front door that was never emptied during the 3 days I was there. The trash was overflowing and laying on the ground. The mat by the front door was frayed and separating, creating a tripping hazard. The elevator was very dirty. Our room door had a self-closing door arm at the top, but it was broken. Rather than fix it, the hotel had placed a wall protector stopper plate so the broken arm wouldn't punch a hole in the wall. Of course, this prevented the door from opening fully. The dresser with the tv stand had a block of wood under it to prevent it from wobbling. The drawer in the nightstand would keep opening on its own. The water from the sink and shower was brown the first time we used them. One of the beds had a broken fake nail melted in the sheets. The room had a strong musty smell. Also, while I was there for 3 days, there was no room cleaning service provided during my stay.
The shower didn't work at all. No hot water to the sink. No effort on the part of the staff to fix it or offer an alternate room. We were not aware until morning. The staff was aware that water had been turned off the previous day. Ridiculous
This place is the lowest end of the Best Western brand. Shabby inside and out. The first sign is the curled up throw mat at the entrance. That message continues inside and out. chipped paint, weedy untrimmed grounds. Seems like the fundamentals are in place, all that's needed is some adult supervision. There are many other stay options within a stones throw. We will use one of those next time.
This is a good hotel, room was clean, breakfast could use more choices, but, hey, it's free, check in was quick, lots of options for restaurants near by, Mishawaka is a very nice area.
room was updated and in good shape. had a microwave and mini fridge. bathroom was spacious. tv had enough channels. breakfast was good. a couple hot items, some juices, a couple types of cereal. pool looked nice but didn't use it. friendly staff. close to restaurants and shops.
We were at the hotel for a one-night stay during a local sports competition. The pool and fitness facilities were closed. Don't have any expectations and this place will work just fine. The service staff were very helpful and attentive. The hotel room floor slanted upward (between beds). The floor lamp was held up by the corner chair. We had to unplug the carbon monoxide monitor to be able to plug in the floor lamp.
This place is awful. We had a terrifying experience, where we heard someone trying to get into our room. Then pounding on the door and yelling that we didn't have a reservation snd wanted us to go to front desk. We had no idea who was requesting the information and it was midnight, The desk clerk was unprofessional and rude , he did apologize for the inconvenience and I asked for compensation for our stress and being terrified and to speak to manager and both were denied. Horrible, terrifying experience.
Very clean, awesome staff, breakfast was delicious ! Beds so comfy ! Nicely updated decor ! Very dog friendly. Jice area for dog to take care of business and roam around. Very nice area. Everything (eating & shopping) is just a mile away ! Will stay again !!!
This is one of the DIRTIEST hotels I have ever stayed in. And my expectations weren't that high, knowing I was booking an older and cheaper hotel home. The musty smell was kind of expected and didn't bother me, but the rest was unacceptable. And the manager when approached was rude and could care less. I checked in late on a Friday night and woke up the next morning (in the daylight) to notice how filthy the room was. Some sort of dry, red splatter all over the wall (which I can only hope was food, not blood?), someone else's toothbrush spray all over the mirror, someone else's hairs on the bathroom counter, and someone else's crumbs all over the carpet. I talked to the front desk staff in the morning. She was very sweet, and just as appalled as I was. She sent someone to clean my room while I went out for the morning. Upon return, literally, the only thing they had done was make my bed and vacuum the carpet. The food/blood was still on the wall, hair and toothbrush, spit/spray still in the bathroom. I go back downstairs, and that woman is gone, but the manager is on duty. At this point, I am still very calm and understanding and explain the situation and ask if I can just change rooms. To which she points at her clipboard with the cleaning log and shows that my room had been “cleaned” and says “I have to believe this”. Still, at this point, I say, I know, they were obviously in there, because the floor looks much better. But they didn't clean the bathroom or the wall mess. To which she just repeats herself that she has to believe the log, and not me (??). She also says she can't switch my room because I didn't say something to her the night I checked in. I politely explain again that I was really tired and got in late and went straight to bed. And round and round the two of us go until I finally lose my patience. Long story short, she moves me into the room next-door, which also has someone else's hairs in the bathroom, dust all over the lamps and bedside tables, etc. But at least I don't have to sleep wondering if its blood or food on the wall. ;)
I absolutely love this hotel. My husband, daughter and I have stayed many times and each time we have had an awesome experience. This last time we got to enjoy the pool and it was warm, clean and all around relaxing.
Might pass a a low budget hotel, Not a best Western, and certainly NOT a BW Plus! On check in the garbage container in front is FULL, when we check out the next morning it is FULLER, and spilling on the ground. Check in staff were good, upon surviving the creaky elevator to the 3rd floor, we are confronted with and overwhelming musty mold stench. Carpets are disgusting, both in the hall, and the room. Wallpaper ripped and peeling on the walls, tiles missing in the room bath. Go for ice, it works (yay)! most of the tile in that room are broken, and an attempted patch job with a caulking gun has just made it worse. The two single beds pushed together to make the king box would have been better if the skirt had been wrapped around them, and the broken plastic corner been removed, or fixed. Thankfully, the window could be opened, ran the AC on high, helped to air out the room. Go for breakfast,,, well, the concentrated mud and hot water they call coffee,,, NOT, Staff is kicked back, feet up in his little room, with some ear buds on. Look in where the fruit tray is, disgusting, that has not been cleaned or wiped out in a very long time. NO bread, go ask Staff if he has any bread, " nope, we got no bread" The dried up egg and cheese 1/2 rounds are cut in half, helps with the drying out process I guess. Several signs around the room, "NO FOOD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE AREA, TO THE ROOM, OT OUTSIDE" gheesh . We are die hard Best Western customers, this place need to have the BW logo removed, simple as that .
Staff was unfriendly. Wouldn't walk in the room barefoot. Did that before taking a shower and black foot prints appeared in tub. Wall outlet across from bed looked as is something shorted {burnt?} didn't use. Stairway used next to room had the same trash the day we arrived as when we left. Last time we plan on staying at this location.
Beautiful area but this hotel was old and had an odor. It was not the cleanest. Staff were not very professional. We were disappointed as we had stayed at less expensive hotels that were very nice. Adequate but could be much better.
We really like Best Western for it's fairly consitant quality and provided amenities. And this property did not disappoint. Ample breakfast, working pool, decent exercise room - excellent morning staff, comfy room, etc. They even let us park our bikes under the veranda. The best surprise here was the price. As mentioned, we like BW but, they tend to jack the prices to exorbitant levels at certain peak times. Either this one plays fair or, it's "off season".
The staff was pleasant and the room was clean. . Breakfast was a disappointment because there was no working coffee pot and no other temporary way to get morning coffee. We were told to make coffee in our room if we wanted it. Since we were not sure about the cleanliness of the room coffee maker we opted to skip the advice.
I was kicked out for cooking on an electric grill and told if I didn't leave they'd call the cops and have me removed all because I was cooking on an electric grill and said I wasn't allowed a refund
Fairly typical Best Western, with some pros and cons. Pros: Nice location but not anything special, parking is plentiful, friendly front desk, room was clean and it was quiet. Cons: tv was wonky in that when turned on, it did not immediately access channels (help was needed), room had a very powerful strong odor which was sweet but overpowering to the point of a headache, there was an odd condensation that formed on the window which had to be left open during the night.
Good budget hotel. Rooms are a bit tired looking but are clean and comfortable. Friendly front desk staff. Had some toilet issues and they quickly brought up a plunger for me to correct the issue. Free breakfast in the morning was pretty good and included a waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon and biscuits and gravy along with muffins, yogurt and fruit. Not far from the University Park Mall and about a 10-12 min drive to the ND campus. Excellent value here.
When we traveled cross country a few years ago, we loved Best Westerns. This location was sub par. Broken elevator, breakfast poorly stocked, and manned with unprofessional appearing staff. Other hotel staff was very pleasant though.
Very poor customer service on the entire front desk. Room was clean but not hotel clean. Sofa had a pee stain on that made it so no one wanted to sleep on it. The fire nozzle in the bathroom is rusty.
There is a reason I usually go with Best Western Plus. The Mishawaka location did not change this view. Shawn was the first person I met there at the counter and set the tone for a great 2+ week business trip. Just ask and you shall receive. Or they will do their best to help point you in the right direction.
Overall, I was delighted with my stay. The price was very reasonable, the property was in excellent condition, and my room was superb (which was a tret after staying in one that was not nearly as good the night before). The only problem--and I have never had this before--was that they had a major computer problem that prevented them from issuing any room keys (!) Someone from the front desk had to go upstairs with me any time I had to get in my locked room to open it with a master key. That was truly annoying, but they knew about the problem and were working hard to fix it. Their front desk clerk Shawn (sp?) particularly deserves kudos. He carefully explained to anyone calling in the situation with the keys, and had to make lots and lots of trips to let people in rooms--and he handled it with professionalism and good cheer. I told him that with the key situation, I deserved a rebate and he deserved a raise! I said the same thing to the excellent manager when I met her the next day (and I told her I would be reviewing them here!) I got a not-particularly friendly welcome at the place the night before in another state. The staff was so professional and friendly here. Great place close to lots of places to eat and a major shopping mall as well. I would be very, very pleased to stay here again....particularly if they have figured out how to dispense working room keys :-)
We drove 2 hours from Chicago after an exhausting weekend moving our daughter into her new apartment. We arrived just before 11PM to be told that there was no one there to check us in. Apparently, the evening shift receptionist left after her shift ended at 10PM. No emergency phone # or instructions on what to do in case of a problem. There was another couple there and they were behind the desk trying to find the phone # for the owner/manager. No luck. On the phone with CS but it's a Sunday night so not much luck there. We wound up going to the Fairfield Inn next door and they took good care of us. Very disappointing as we've had good luck with other Best Western properties.
This place has everything going for it except dim room lights and broken tile. Broken tile in the bathroom, broken tile in the elevator, even broken tile at the gutter down spout. If they could just get someone on staff that could fix tile and up the lumens of the room light bulbs, this place would be perfect!
My husband and I booked a night here with my rewards points while traveling and we had a lovely time! Our room was clean and comfortable, which is all I ask from a hotel. We've stayed here before quite a while ago, before the pandemic, so a lot of things have changed since the last time I was here. The pool and hot tub were closed, which was kind of a bummer but they offered to let us swim in the next door hotel's pool area which was nice. Breakfast was still a bit more limited than I would have liked (I wish they would bring back the bread slices so I could at least make myself some toast) One thing that hasn't changed is how great the staff is!! Jessie was the same front desk person who checked us in the last time and greeted us once again with great service and a friendly attitude! She's very knowledgeable of good places to eat in the area and great to talk to. At check out, the guy working the desk (I think Shawn was his name) was also very friendly and got us checked out quickly. Gave us a noon check out so I could sleep in a little. Big thanks to the entire staff at Best Western Mishawaka for a comfortable stay!!
Absolutely one of the worst stays. Breakfast options were horrible. Milk had expired 6 days ago. Juice machine broken, No lids for coffee. Toaster was there but nothing to put in it. Night time manager left and went home. Left emergency number at front desk. Had a problem with key card not working and had to wait 20 minutes for manager to return to property.
The breakfast was non existent pretty much, the milk was lumpy and past it's sell by and disgusting, the staff were indifferent and not welcoming. The service was poor and there was rarely anyone at the desk. When I did see staff- they were not welcoming at all.
clean room, quiet, great price. i didn't use internet or eat breakfast. front desk personnel helpful and hotel located near many stores, restaurants. I was visiting family. Hotel close to Notre Dame Univ. I'd stay here again
I'm a travel nurse and her employee who checked me in told me I could have late check out on my last of 3 12 hour shifts in a row on night shift. The manager woke me up by pounding on my door the last night I had to work and told me I had 15 minutes to get out. She made me pay for extra night because I needed to sleep to work and she wouldn't help me at all. I feel it was the employees fault who checked me in but the manager could have been more help dial and nice to a travel nurse!
Pull out sofa in 1st room was disgusting- stain that went from mattress through the sheets Police in the middle of the night in the hallway arresting someone Breakfast was pretty minimal Pool a hot tub closed which was not disclosed at booking
The staff was friendly, hotel was clean, and location was great. It was a nice stopping point on a road trip. The hotel was quiet and we all slept well. Happy it's pet friendly. Breakfast area was good for to-go snacks.
The service was great, the room was very comfortable, the internet was more than sufficient for my needs and the breakfast was hot and good. There was enough shows on the TV for me to watch as I relaxed. I wish there was a Netflix or Disney option, but it was sufficient.
Pool was not working, breakfast was limited. They use update the TV and internet. The tv did not meet our needs, internet was slow and had to reconnect daily which was a bear to do. The bath room did not have grab bars, a place to put you shampoo / soap, no non slip mate either.
This hotel needs some serious updating. Carpet is dirty and stinky. Rooms smell like mildew. Upon arrival, had to request a TV remote and hair dryer. Shortly after, had to be moved to another room because the tub wouldn't drain and the shower curtain was full of mildew.
Notre Dame weekend Wanted to swim and use the hot tub both were down. The ice machine was broken on the first floor. The breakfast was terrible. For $300 a night outrageous. Extremely disappointed with my total experience at this hotel. Burnt out lights in the bathroom.A toilet that round nonstop all night.
Place was bad - pool closed, ice machine broken, our heater was noisy, carpets really, really dirty. Staff was friendly and helpful until we complained about the general state of disrepair and atrocious carpets, etc. Then staff was very unprofessional, swearing, etc.
Called before I got my reservation they said pool should be open at my arrival was not, I talked to first person upon arrival he said "oh well" the next morning the lady at the desk was somewhat friendly.
Probably the worst in dirtiest best western I've ever stayed in. The carpets in both the hallway and the rooms were filthy. The breakfast had a little to nothing to offer. The bathtub drain plug was out of the drain sitting on the side of the tub. There was mold in the sink. There was a make up on the wood part of the mirror. When my husband went to take a shower at 9 AM. There was no hot water because maintenance decided they needed to do some work. And the last insult was the toilet plugged on the way out of the room! I will give credit to the women behind the front desk. They were professional and caring. Other than that I will never stay here again.
While visiting the South Bend area for a football game we stayed at this location for two nights. The entire place is dirty and dated. The ice machines were not functioning and other services/amenities were limited. Our room was also filthy with burnt out bulbs and a barely functioning remote/tv.
Upon booking my room the manager Sarah and front desk employee Joanie was smoking a marijuana vape pen. My room was completely dirty. Linen and towels. The note read Juanita but honestly the room looked and smelled a mess. Bathroom toilet and tub was beyond filthy. When asked to change to another room they replied very smartly that they are sold out but wasn't that many cars in the parking lot the nights I had to stay there because they won't refund you your money back if you book from a third party. By far the worst hotel ever. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! BOOK ELSEWHERE! NO HOT BREAKFAST N POOL STILL DOESNT WORK. HALF THE LIGHTS AND THINGS IN THE BUILDING WORKS. WORSER THAN A MOTEL 6
This is a pretty low end BW - certainly not what you'd expect from a BW+. The carpets in the halls are truly gross. Of the 3 lights in our room, 2 didn't work. Price was relatively high due to college move in rush. I'd recommend going someplace else until this place is updated.
The sign may say Best Western Plus but this is definitely a Best Western MINUS. The building is tired and run down. The parking lot is too rough to use a luggage cart. The pool is closed and looking in through the pool area windows it looks like a disaster area. The toilet in our room overflowed. I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk because our room phone was dead. The young lady at desk was nice but explained she was the only staff on-site and didn't know when she could come about the toilet. This place needs a deep cleaning and a little more truth in advertising. I normally like Best Westerns but this one is a serious disappointment.
Comfy bed, clean room. Most of all puppy friendly first floor accommodations. It was a good place to stop while traveling west to visit family. Easy in and out access. Breakfast was adequate considering the current situation.
It's just a hotel. Neutral, impersonal, cookie-cutter. Some are better than others . . . a little cleaner, newer, or with one's favorite shampoo and conditioner in the little complimentary bottles. But all-in-all merely a place to lay your head while you're visiting a new city. What makes a real difference is people . . . efficient, pleasant, genuinely nice people. This past week my wife, my daughter and I stayed in the Best Western Plus in Mishawaka, Indiana. My daughter will be starting a new job and we came in town to help her secure housing. Because we were in the hotel for a week and were routinely coming and going we became quite familiar with the entire hotel staff and them with us. Friendly banter was routine with your team asking how the house-hunting was going, how we were doing, and whether we were enjoying the area. I cannot begin to say how welcomed we were made to feel and how nice it was to see and interact with such friendly and caring people. When we returned from completing paperwork with our real estate agent, Sarah and Akira were manning the desk and asked whether we'd found a place. When my daughter, excitedly told them we had, both ladies cheered! Sarah and Akira were as happy for our daughter as we were. We are eternally grateful for the warm welcome and wonderful stay we had at this hotel.
I have very little good to say about this hotel, although it was not awful either. The two staff I saw in the three days I was here were pleasant. The only time I saw someone at the front desk was when a check-in was expected. The room seemed clean enough, but only two pillows on a King bed. The entry light bulb was burned out and a drawer on the dresser would not stay closed. I had to stick a hanger between the two handles to keep it closed so I wouldn't run into it. Even though they advertise "breakfast", we saw signs about picking up your "Grab and Go" breakfast at the front desk. We asked what they contain and the clerk mentioned a few pre-packaged items due to COVID. The three mornings we were here there were NO items at all, and no staff present, There was coffee and juice available in the lobby, but the cloth to catch coffee drips was not changed over two days. I wouldn't bother staying here again unless it was a last resort. Would probably do better with an Air BnB.
I was just traveling through the area on my way home from a vacation. This hotel is on a main route and easy to find. It was comfortable and clean. I would recommend this hotel to other travelers. Thanks
We have stayed at multiple Best Westerns. However, this was the worst one so far - it really needs an updating. The room had a funny smell, so we were moved. That was nice they did that. However, the new room looked old and multiple things were wrong. First, the black out curtains don't move. They are permanently only to the sides. This was a problem since our room faced some kind of factory/warehouse that had bright lights on all night. Second, we tried to call to the front desk and the phone didn't work. Next, everyone in our family decided to sleep without pillows because they were so high it hurt our necks. Also, the toilet looked like it hadn't been clean. Lastly, the pool and jacuzzi were closed and they didn't even have that on their website. In addition, they are still doing those pick up bags for breakfast. Oh - and there was only one other guy on our whole floor and he had a dog that we could hear bark through the door (that had a big gap at the bottom of it). I was really disappointed in my stay here and won't return.
I stayed 3 nights here, and though the room was nice and the hotel clean, the charges kept piling up on my bill. When I arrived they charged me for three nights as discussed then were supposed to take off $100 for the four gift cards I had. Instead I was charged another $143, then woke up to yet another $78 the next day, and an additional $236 the day after that. In the meantime I was told twice it would be deducted and it was not. By the fourth day, prior to check out, I was charged another $236! Altogether I was charged three times the price of three nights. It is the day after I returned from my trip with an additional $236 being charged again this morning! There never was a manager on site to talk to, always the staff had no clue about how to reverse the charges, and I came home very distraught over this situation. If I had not had some money to back me up, I would have been charged multiple bank charges and would have been stranded 400 miles from home. I will never stay at this location again! How this location stays in business with this kind of practice is well beyond me!
My stay here started out north of great since it was free -- 16,000 of my Best Western Guest Awards points balance covered it. This hotel is kind of hidden behind a more pricy Fairfield Inn; I wondered if that impacted the prices I was seeing prior to check-in. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful property and a very comfortable, clean, well stocked room, with rock-solid WIFI. And there were a few extraordinary niceties. The desk clerk seemed extremely professional and put me in the exact spot on the first floor I wanted. That part of the building was quiet with no other guests around; I knew that because all the doors were taped and marked as sanitized (kind of like motel toilets used to be paper-ribbon "sealed"). I got the comfortable, peaceful stay I wanted and, more than not, what I have come to expect from the vast majority of Best Western properties.
The hotel was open for business. Room was clean, but extras were removed--extra pillows, coffee maker, etc. The breakfast was a to-go sack. Disappointing, but I don't blame BW--they are doing what they need to do. Was glad they had tea (and coffee) available at the front.
I booked this room for my son. When he pulled back the covers to go to bed he found it visibly full of bugs. The staff was apologetic and moved him to a different room. In the morning he realized there were bedbugs in this room too. Now he will have to isolate everything with him and hope he does not infest his bed when he gets to his destination. A disaster!
I realize we are Coming out of the covid thing but no ice, no pool, no breakfast. which would all be fine if this was conveyed before i paid full price for the room. I would have switched hotels but i was tired from traveling and figured the other hotel information would be inaccurate as well. it was a fine place to sleep but thats about it.
Most hotel brands you can count on an expected level of consistency wherever you stay. That is not the case with BW PLUS. This is a very dated property. I have never written a review but my business colleague told me it was my duty.
We stayed here December 21 - 28, 2019. The good: The staff, especially the woman at the front desk with the red hair and glasses, was very friendly. The lobby is being renovated and even the workmen were friendly. The beds are super comfy, and the towels were big and soft. The rooms were up to date, which leads to me to. . . The Bad: For whatever reason, when they updated the rooms, they didn't update the carpet in them, or in the common areas. They were worn, there were holes in several places, and looked dirty overall. The carpet in the elevator was the worst. The cleaning crew needs to be completely retrained. When we checked in on Saturday evening, my DIL pointed out a used band aid by the pool. It stayed there until I pointed it out to owner on Monday. I think the carpet in our hallway was vacuumed once. I know it went several days without being vacuumed because a small piece of paper was on the floor from Sunday through the day after Christmas. Our bathroom floor wasn't cleaned on Sunday because I noticed several long hairs from our daughter on the floor when we came back in evening. Our room wasn't cleaned at all on the final Friday of our stay. The Meh: Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast fare including some sort of eggs, biscuits (super dry) and either bacon or sausage each morning. The first day I had a bagel that was stale, so I stayed away from them the rest of week. Unless they literally "clean up" their act, I probably won't stay here again.
Stayed here 5 nights with my fiancé over Christmas week. Property seems to be well-kept and clean. Good value with very reasonable nightly rate. Hotel was not very busy and housekeeping comes very early before we wake up, so they were nice to leave a basket at our door with fresh linens, fresh roll of tissue, and more shampoo/soap. We put the dirty linens in the basket and the housekeeper took it in the morning from in front of our door and put fresh linens in the basket for us again. I've never had service like this before, but it suited our needs. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
My husband and I stopped in Mishawaka on our way to Rapid City, South Dakota with our dog, Harley. Mishawaka was a good 750 miles from home and right off route 80. Convenient location and clean rooms, easy check in and out. Comfortable, quiet room with quick access to outside for walking the dog on the grassy area designated for pets. We got on the road before breakfast, so can not comment on that. Highly recommend friendly staff and soft pillows and great matress.
Excellent service, rooms are neat, more towels in the room would be great. The staff are professional and courteous. The breakfast was great, the menu could use sausage. The surrounding area has lots of options!
This best western is off the turnpike no road noise heard. However this Best Western is in back of another motel and sits besides another and is a bit hard to find when dark. Front desk staff was great and room was small but comfortable. Price was very reasonable. Breakfast looked great but did not partake in it because of diet restrictions. Room was great for the price and would stay here again when in the area.
The room wasn't "blow you away clean" and there were no pool towels for over 24 hours however, for the location and price it was decent overall. I would consider returning if I needed a quick, inexpensive stay but if you're looking for top notch this isn't it.
Excellent Experience with staff, breakfast, work out room had everything I needed except sauna. The house keeping was amazing. The food was really good and every morning it was hot and ready TO GO BY 6 AM. Even though there was children they were not too noisy.
Stayed at this Best Western for one night to attend a 50th anniversary party. Hotel was clean and a great stay for the price. My only issue was the sheets on the bed. They were not the most comfortable. Clean, but not comfortable.
We love this Best Western! The staff is super helpful and friendly! The hotel is always clean. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. The close trip to Costco is always a part of the trip. We make Mishawaka Best Western a must stop.
Very expensive due to football weekend. Room was not cleaned after first night. The breakfast was the same thing every day. The hotel needed to be updated and did not offer many outlets to charge phones. Also did not have a hair dryer. We will not return to this hotel again.
The Best of Best Westerns! Clean, indoor pool, separate Jacuzzi! Towels at pool! Towels in room! Spotless room (1st floor). Everything works. Side entrance with bench, trees, well lit- just use your door key for everything. Hospitable staff! We came in from 2l3 states; had 2 rooms for 4 nights. Full hot breakfast, yum!
very nice updated clean hotel. Excellent breakfast. Front desk girl gave a card for a free dessert at Longhorn when she heard we were going there. Refrigerator in room needed defrosting. Lamps did not have plug ins for our devices. Hot tub had two jets not working.
The first room we checked into smelled really bad. They gave us a new room and we found several pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and the shower had hair stuck to the wall and hair in the base of the tub
Excellent hotel experience and people close to restaurants and extremely nice staff Cgjb xdgg cfg v fs x bj uh d cfhjg ccghb CD hgv cdfhh 200 letters is too much 200 letters to much 200 words is way way way too much
This is a nice hotel and staff generally try hard to make your stay a good one. Clean, newer rooms with all the stuff you need. Have a pool and fitness center and it is close to everything. I stay at this hotel at least a couple times per year.
We stayed here on a getaway to the St. Joseph/Lake Michigan area. We wanted to stay at a Best Western, so we stayed a bit outside of St. Joseph. Best decision ever! The location of this hotel is great! It's located in a nice area with a mall, restaurants, and plenty of shopping. The staff was very pleasant and the whirlpool is amazing. You can't go wrong staying here.
Comfortable and quiet. Great bed. Nice town with less traffic than the cities nearby. Close to the highway. Staff was friendly and helpful. Air conditioning stopped working in the night, but it was still reasonably comfortable.
Great value, location, clean pool and hot tub. Very friendly staff. Close to shopping, restaurants and few miles away from the zoo. At the corner of main roads to connect with options for traveling in the city or to the Michiana area. Beds could be more comfortable but overall good option.
The carpet throughout the building was stained and seemed dirty. The room was okay but again the carpet didn't seem like it was clean. Room was dark even with all lamps on. Seems to need to be updated.
Wonderful hotel. Front desk staff was great. Had a free bonus points drawing going on. Bed was nice. Room was clean and bright. Left early before breakfast. Easy drive to airport. Would definitely use this hotel again.
Hotel was very well priced and has a lovely pool and spa. Breakfast is good with a good selection of food. About 4 miles from Notre Dame Stadium easy by Uber access. There is also a nice Indian restaurant close by called the Indian Garden.
My wife and I have stayed at Best Western several times and have always enjoyed our stays, however, this was NOT a great experience! We did not receive our welcome package, pool had no towels, breakfast was out of food and milk.
We had a pleasant stay at The Best Western Plus in Mishawaka, Indiana. Quiet room with comfortable bed and nice bedding, refrigerator, microwave, good wifii, and nice shower with good water pressure. There is ever an iron and iron board in the closet, if needed. Close to many restaurants, a shopping mall and a good location (short drive) for visiting Notre Dame Univ. Breakfast was ok. They have a waffle maker available to make your own waffles which was good. Evening access to the coffee machine in the lobby is a plus. Aaron Rogers who works at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful in checking us in and answering our questions about nearby restaurants, directions, etc. When another guest advised their smoke detector was chirping, he immediately grabbed a battery and went to their room to fix the issue. We would stay here again if in the area.
Treated to a wonderful, clean and comfortable place to stay. We were looking for somewhere to stay and had tried a few other places close by. BW was by far the cleanest , most friendly. The beds were so comfortable we over slept. Breakfast was good and we will be back.
Really nasty. Filthy floors made feet black by walking on carpet. Stained bedding & towels. Rude staff. Breakfast was nasty with no choices. It's also located behind another hotel. Absolutely disgusting. Select any other hotel but this one.
The hotel is very clean and well kept. Staff members are very nice and super helpful. The room was up to date with all the conveniences you could ask for. I really enjoyed the breakfast, so many choices!!!
Nothing extra like Bottle opener (in the entire hotel!) Wine opener(not one in the whole hotel) Glasses -nope Extra shampoo-got ask. Minuscule bottles Extra towels-gotta ask Not sure all considered that I would do this kind of hotel again. $200 a night. For a bed and shower
This is a favorite hotel! The staff and physical appearance are always spot on! The location is central to shopping and restaurants while the physical area of BW is private enough for anyone's taste! We will come again many times!
Not sure what makes this a BW Plus. Nice enough hotel but no frills. Comfortable room and very quiet. Applebee's restaurant close by. Breakfast ok but limited. I thought I had reserved a 2 queen room but ended up in a king room.
Outstandingly quiet atmosphere. Breakfast is always good, and well presented. Service is good and value. Service and location are good. It is in the middle of the South Ben, Indiana Grape Road Shopping megopolis. Rooms were clean and welll-kept.
The room was spacious enough for the 2 queen beds and a roll away bed. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were both very nice and not very busy any time we went down there. The hotel was close and convenient to quite a few places! The breakfast was always hot and fresh and there were plenty of options of food to eat. Overall this was a very nice place to stay!
I was traveling from out of town to see a show at Morris Center, quick 15 minute drive. Wonderfully clean, nice staff, awesome hot tub. Price was the reason I booked, but when I return to this area I will DEFINITELY be picking this hotel because of its quality!
This is great place to stay don't pass it up. The people were sooooo friendly and helpful.beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect. The pool looks so inviting and the breakfast area was clean and neat and the food was welcoming
At first glance, the entrance was inviting, a bowl of fruit was available. Check in went well-they acknowledged we were Rewards members and gave additional points as a promo. While unpacking, we found clothing in the drawer from the previous guest. We also noticed that the bathroom mirror had water spots on it as well as the counter-top appeared to have large drips on it. The carpet had lots of debris especially by the bedsides . The hallway edges & elevator looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. We were in a hurry & had to leave but brought the clothing to the front desk and informed the person working about the lack of cleanliness. She apologized and said she would inform the manager. The room was quiet & breakfast was very good.Upon check out, I stopped at the front desk to verify the manager had been informed. The person working at that time asked if we had been given any points & looked on a log and said there wasn't anything documented. She indicated she was going to e-mail the manager and she would send me her reply via e-mail. We have not heard a response. This location needs to significantly step up their cleaning!!!!
Great experience at this hotel. Staff was friendly. Large pool and spa. Breakfast food was good but there was limited seating which made it difficult. Rooms and bathrooms were super clean. Large parking lot and easy to do find as well.
Our stay at the Best Western Plus in Mishawaka was a last minute booking. I wasn't sure what to expect since the location was near shopping centers. The decor was very nice and overall the property was clean and well kept. The rooms were as described with very comfortable beds! The breakfast offered a variety of items, including several hot items. The staff were all friendly and knowledgable.
I did not have any issues staying at this hotel, clean, accomidating, all amenities provided,, great internet, good breakfast choices, friendly caring employees, great location, good parking that was quickly cleared of snow.
Clean comfortable stay at this location has a very good breakfast in the morning. I also enjoy the pool and hot tub. The bed was very cozy and I like that you can walk to several restaurants that are close by.
Housekeeping went two days without cleaning the third day open my door with do not disturb sign up take pictures tell me I have to pay a $150 cleaning fee and I have a special needs son and two daughters both toddler aged.
A comfy place to stay with all necessary amenities, great breakfast, pleasant lobby. This is the 4th time this year we've stayed here with great satisfaction. Call hotel directly for best rate. Fitness center, pool and large hot tub are included.
We have stayed at this Best Western many times because it is exactly half way on a trip we make often to see family. It is like coming home. The staff is always super. Highly recommended! The location provides access to many good eating spots!
Room was clean, breakfast was hot and tasty. The pool are was not so great and bed was way to soft for me. But for 1 night it was more than enough. It was super close to Notre Dame, which is where we were headed.
Had a great Christmas stay, Karen, the breakfast hostess, was awesome. Kept breakfast going late on Christmas day and even provided special snack bags for our travels the next day. Amber, the desk clerk was very accommodating when we needed to change our multiply room reservation.
The breakfast hostess and staff was great. Wonderful breakfast selections, each day there was a different menu item. I looked forward to the great healthy choices that the hotel provided for the guest. Enjoy the fitness equipment, I was able to get in a hard and long work out!!
Arrived and hotel was pleasant and clean and staff good. Over night my mother of 85 had to walk her dog. Outside harassed by people smoking drugs and drinking. Then she had someone enter her room when she was sleeping. She had her German Shepard so no worries. She did not bother us as she knew we were tired from our 9 hour drive. In morning she informed us and I was pretty upset. Told the manager and they investigated the incident . We had checked out and started our drive home.A few days later we received an e mail explaining what had happened and we were credited with our room charge. The hotel followed up again and assured us this is not the norm and encourages us to return. Thanks BW
Fantastic place to stay and a warm welcome from the guy on reception at 1:30am after an horrendous flight into O'Hare! The rooms are clean and very comfortable, we had to turn the fridge off due to the hum, the breakfasts are tasty and the staffs are very helpful, so much so I booked again for another trip! We picked a busy weekend when the Notre Dame football was on and the hotel was at around 75%, still nothing effected the functionality of the hotel, restaurant or car park. The all day coffee was fabulous! We highly recommend this hotel.
Stay here if you are looking for a nice reasonably priced room. We had the king suite and thought it was perfect for a overnight. The room was up to date and clean with nice touches.Very comfy bed.The pool and hot tub were great after a long drive.
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel for the Garth Brooks concert. The hotel and room were very clean. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady in charge of the breakfast did an excellent job. Better breakfast than similar hotels. I will definitely look at staying here again.
I had a good experience staying at the hotel. I will be back for sure. From the moment I walked in I was helped right away. The location is great its close to the shopping mall and a large variety of fine restaurants. Great price for the rooms.
I basically start with 4 stars, and add or take away from there. This hotel loses a star for its terrible internet. Otherwise, it was mostly fine. The room was older, but nicely redone and clean. The shower pressure was a bit low. The price was very reasonable, though it's not like there was anything going on in town.
Fair price for a basic hotel. Clean enough for a good night's rest. Do not expect help with your bags or room service. You might need to remind them to clean your room. Internet was decent enough and works everywhere in the building but not outside and breakfast is good enough
Last stop on way home to Ontario from Hope BC. Hotel was clean staff friendly and the rate was very good. Breakfast was good and the area is safe and loaded with shopping and eating just steps away. The general manager Connie was fantastic with us. The staff at the hotel make your stay good. Thanks Connie
My sister in law is a Best Western Member and insisted on booking here as she would get a discount. It was also pet friendly for her 10 pound Yorkie Poo. It was booked over 10 days in advance, requested a room on the ground floor with easy outside access for walking the dog and being handicapped. Upon arrival they wanted to charge her more than the original agreed price (do to the dog) and the room was on the third floor. We where able to negotiate back to the $120.00 but had to take the third floor room. The third floor hallway was stained and a bit dinghy, upon entry room was musty smelling and a bit outdated, although it was clean. In the morning, breakfast was delayed & the garbage bins where overflowing not giving you the best apatite anyway. All in all not some place we will strive to stay at again especially at the price with a Best Western card. On the good side It was midway on the trip from upstate N.Y. to Indiana, but was not easy to find. They do allow pets at a Price but would not call it pet friendly. The staff was reasonably competent, the facilities OK but not outstanding.
The pillows are bad and the WIFI is so bad as to be non-existing. The check in and check out were hampered by system failure. There are many other hotels in the area from which to choose. I am a Best Western fan, but when I return to this area, I'll look into other options.
This is not like the Best Western Hotel from days of old! This hotel is modern, clean, comfortable, quiet and the hotel staff is happy to accommodate. I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in the area.
Stayed here for two nights, room was nice and clean but had a musty smell when we walked in. Went to breakfast the first morning and everything was gone. No eggs, no pancake mix, no syrup, no coffee, no apple juice and no service. Went to front desk and she just kept saying she was new and didn't know anything about it. When I asked if there was anyone there to help the guests I was told she didn't know for sure. No one ever came to replenish the food and no apologies. Later in the day went to use the pool and hot tub I found out the hot tub did not work. When I went to the front desk the same lady from the morning was working and said she didn't know anything about it. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she already left for the day. We paid over $120 per night and the services we received were extremely poor. Their service promise states “If something is not meeting your expectation, let us know. We want to make it right.” Where was the management team the whole weekend and why did no one receive the services they were promised?
We were travelling from Iowa to Virginia and needed a stay where we could have a pet. The hotel fit the need, but the condition of the hotel was rundown. The bathroom tile was cracked and the tub did not drain, toilet used about 7 gallons of water when flushed. The window to the outside was not properly secured, giving us concerns with leaving the pet for dinner. Overall it's not a place I would stay again.
The facilities are very nice, so I do not like to have to leave a negative review. Plus, my check-in staff (Mo) was very professional and did a great job. However, the morning staff was not good at all. I came down about 15 minutes after breakfast was scheduled to start, and there was nothing happening. A sign at the front desk said to call "0" since they were off doing something else, and a man was ringing the phone over and over for literally 5 minutes. No coffee or anything ready, and I found out why - the young man in charge was sound asleep on the chair in the breakfast room. I came down 30 minutes later - same thing. Another 30 minutes, I came back and he was racing around and said "sorry - we are a bit behind schedule." Of course! He was literally sleeping on the job. How offensive - and what a shame because people have obviously invested a lot in making it a nice motel. Even when checking out, once I found the man who handled that (he was outside smoking) I mentioned the sleeping man, and he said "yes, he was just catching up." That's preposterous. An example how the weakest link can ruin the whole experience
Too many people on pool/hot tub area-more than capacity which is the main reason why we stayed here at this particular hotel. Now they have double charged my debit card from 2 months ago when I stayed. They said was a "glitch" in the system. Not only did they cause my account to be over drafted, I have been waiting for 2 days now to get my money back. OH AND when some friends of ours try to get a room the same night, they said they were "booked" when in reality they were short on the cleaning staff & couldn't get all the rooms clean! Now when I call no one answers the phone!!! How do you run a business & not answer your phone??!!
This has to be the best staff around. They were absolutely amazing. Every time we walked past, they stopped us to see if we needed anything and ask how are stay has been. They were so friendly and smiley. Amazing breakfast, clean hotel, and a great pool/hot tub area are a plus, too!
Good hotel for the price. Conveniently located to many shops and restaurants. Short drive to Notre Dame campus. Very friendly and helpful staff. The fitness center was average. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
i don't think i've ever seen such a poor staff. hardly any staff if that. rooms were poorly cleaned. housekeepers were snobby, breakfast was a disaster. hardly any food out at 7am and when i went to leave the hotel food was still out at 1:30pm! only one person works the desk and seems to be doing everything. i stayed back in February and the girls for breakfast and front desk were amazing! don't know whats happened to the place since. seems like management could use some training. way to keep your guests happy right?
The hotel needs to hire more people. On checkout day there was ONE person cooking, and checking out. He was running back and forth and very stressed. They should give him a raise because he kept himself together despite being the only person there...on a Sunday checkout! Bathrooms were dirty, floor was vacuumed, beds looked clean, but who knows.
We stayed here three nights this past week. We were in town for a hockey tournament. Check in went fine and the staff member that night was very nice. Unfortunately, that was the only good part The room was small with very little light. There were hardly any outlets in the room to plug things in. It was also pretty dirty. There was dust on the furniture and the rug was old and stained. Our socks were dirty when we walked around the room in them and the bathroom floor was sticky. The bedding was very tired and worn. There was someone's hair in the bathroom. The beds were extremely uncomfortable (even my kids thought so and they sleep anywhere). The drawers would not stay shut. We tolerated it as we had no choice - others who stayed there from our team had the same experience so we just decided to grin and bear it. Then there was the breakfast issue. The first day we were there early - around 7 am. There was hardly any food. The second day was the same situation. Went down around 7:30 am and there was only some cereal and muffins that were sitting out from the night before. The hot food was empty and there was no oatmeal. Running to a game we grabbed the "grab and go" breakfasts. What a joke - it was a very small apple and a bottle of water. On the last morning, we went down around 9 am. There was nothing there. No eggs, no bread, no bagels - nothing but cold cereal - and only 2 types at that - Cheerios and Raisin Bran. Not what you'd expect from a hotel advertising a hot breakfast, and not what a bunch of teenage boys who are playing hockey need to fuel their day. Find a better place to stay for $130/night. This was not worth the price. We would have left but the tournament folks make us stay in their chosen hotels and we were stuck. if you have a choice - make sure it is not this place.
My son had a guaranteed reservation but upon arriving at the hotel he was told by Mary the front dest agent he could not stay because he was under 21. No where on the web site does it say you have to be 21. He was driving all day and was turned away. I called the hotel and Mary told me it was Indiana state law that you cannot check someone in that is under 21. I told her that was a lie and it was not state law. She then changed her story to, it was a contract and you have to be 21 to be under a contract. Another lie. Luckily my son made it safe to another hotel. The Marriott. Much better hotel. This Best Western that doesn't care about people.
Hotel was nice. Beds comfortable. When we checked in, the front desk seemed unorganized, and our room wasn't ready. Come to find out they were short of housekeepers that day. When we arrived in our room, we opened the night stand and discovered hot sauce in drawer and on carpet between beds. Housekeepers in hall, she came right in and cleaned it up, all the while apologizing about the mess. Did not eat breakfast, but there was a wide selection of cold cereal, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bagels, danish and several other things. Carpet in hallway could use replacing, very worn looking. Close to mall, restaurants, and several stores. Pool area/hot tub nice. Very clean, but no towels, the shelf for them was empty. Very busy when we were there, hockey tournament going on- so several kids all over, but no big deal. Would stay again..apparently there is new management, so I suppose that is the reason for the disorganization. But all in all a nice stay
Hotel was alright. Problems I encountered: sheets weren't clean on one bed. Drawer wouldn't shut; it kept opening. Shower kept backing up and the room smelled (my wife described it as dirty feet, but I couldn't put a smell on it myself). Breakfast was fine, but I wish they would have kept filling up the coffee during the day because they ran out early on.
Good location near the mall and a lot of restaurants and shopping. Staff very courteous. The room was spacious, we had 4 adults. The biggest problem is the tv choice. Very limited. The breakfast is decent. Wasn't the same every day.
This BW has the features and amenities that we've come to expect from the BW Plus brand: full hot breakfast, swimming pool and hot tub, fitness center, comfortable bed, etc. We usually stay here when we visit our daughter, who is a student at Notre Dame. We had a few mostly minor disappointments during this stay. Most significant was that the wi-fi was not working during our whole stay; the front desk was informed, and we were told that they were working on it. More minor was the fact that the bottom sheet on the bed was too small to fit over the mattress and so was just laid on top of the mattress (maybe it had shrunk?). We couldn't tuck it in ourselves. However, otherwise the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet and it didn't impair our sleep. One of the things we appreciate at most BW's is the full hot breakfast. During this last stay the breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausages, as well as a great fruit salad, cold cereals, waffles, etc. I am sure that this would satisfy most customers, but my husband and I were disappointed that there was no homemade hot oatmeal and no hard-boiled eggs. Overall, however, we had a very comfortable stay.
Comfortable quiet stay after a long drive. Small hotel but has everything needed Lots of restaurants nearby also I always stay at a Best Western when traveling. Price is right Staff friendly and helpful and knowlegeable of area
The staff was amazing and very friendly. This was a stop over for me on my way home to Connecticut from Chicago. I was greeted when I arrived and my check in was very quick and easy. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I slept like a baby because the room was nice and quiet and there was no noise coming from the outside or the hallway. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was amazing with excellent water pressure which sometimes does not exist at hotels. This location is quite close to Notre Dame if you are in town for a football game. It is only 1.5 hours from Chicago and makes a great stop over coming or going to Chicago. I truly loved my stay and will stay there again when in the area.
Aaron helped us with some issues regarding reservations and we were happy. Nice, welcoming lobby. Cookies were nice touch. Room was clean, quiet and comfy. Breakfast had a very nice variety. I love having eggs of some sort and I had a different choice both mornings. The Sunday morning when were leaving, breakfast wasn't set up yet. The dining room floor was a mess, like someone forget to vacuum and wipe the tables. That was a put off and having to wait for everything to be set out when we wanted to eat and run. We will return, all in all, great stay. Good location close to mall and restaurants.
It's a normal run of the mill Best Western, same as all the others across the country. Charges five hundred dollars per night when Notre Dame plays a home game. Great value for the hotel. Terrible value for the customer.
The hotel itself, location, amenities, and staff were wonderful. Everything we needed was right there within less than a mile of the hotel, and the hotel actually was everything that was indicated on the website.
Nice place to stay. Great location. Very good breakfast. Room was very comfortable. Short drive to restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in this area. The price is definitely right.
I enjoyed my stay. The bed was fairly comfortable, but most mattresses in hotels aren't the greatest, in my opinion. Staff was very friendly. When I checked out, I just dropped my key off at the front desk and the team member there was the same one who checked me in. She was very nice, but in the morning when I left around 7:45 or so seemed like she was still working on her coffee. Lol - I would definitely stay there again. I travel to that area of Mishawaka, Elkhart, South Bend, Goshen, Niles, Warsaw, etc for work. I'm out there about once per month for 3 or 4 days. The staff is always very friendly when I go. I've stayed there 3 or 4 times now in the past year. The location of the hotel is wonderful. it's close to pretty much anything another traveler may need. Lots of restaurants, a big mall, nightlife, grocery store, Target, Sams Club, Costco, etc. Great locale!
There was a chemical like smell in the first room I was given. I tried to tough it out but ended up getting only a few hours sleep and a pounding headache to show for it. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk they happily placed me in a new room. The second room had the same smell, but it wasn't as potent as in the first room.
We were on a leisure trip to visit our son at Bethel College in Mishawaka, so we wanted something with free breakfast, swimming pool, and hot tub. This hotel worked great. The pool/hot tub were nice (water was warm in pool), our room was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast included some sort of protein each day (e.g., eggs and sausage (edible, but not great)), a belgian waffle maker, along with the usual pastries, cereal, breads, etc. It was better than a continental breakfast, but fine dining it is not! The hotel is hard to spot from University Ave, as it sits back behind another hotel. However, this location makes a nice place to stay in the area, as it is very close to lots of stores and restaurants - definitely one of the nicer parts of town. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the value we got from staying here. Unless the rates increase significantly, we will definitely stay here next time we're in the area.
needs improvements needs new carpet and also there is no phone jacks by your bed also better choices for breakfast like cooked oatmeal and boiled eggs we will stay elsewhere next time we are in town there is a lot of things to do around this area we will just have to stay some where else
My wife & I stopped after ten hours on the road on our way to Evanston, IL. At first it seemed a bit out of the way from the interstate but turned out to be a great location. There were many restaurants in the area as well as shopping and the Costco for low price gas fill up. We also had easy access to the Notre Dame campus. Check in, Check out, and breakfast staff were great. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice shower & TV. The internet was just a bit slow. Breakfast was also very good. We would stay here again.
The hotel is going under a remodeling on the outside, but the inside is fine. The room was fairly stinky when we walked in...but the staff quickly cleaned it up and made it clean and fresh again. While it was being cleaned we ventured out to the Riverwalk and were surprised to see the salmon "ladder" run in a side river along the main river and saw a few salmon as well.
This hotel is older & a little "tired" but the bonus is that you can walk to all types of restaurants & shopping. The pool & hot tub is fantastic, plus the price is VERY reasonable. We will stay here again when we are in the area.
ok hotel. Staff at counter excellent, rooms ok, pillows uncomfortable, not laundry facilities, need to go next door to do laundry. Breakfast area too small, make sure to talk to front staff if you sleep in, otherwise room won't be cleaned
I got maybe 2 hours of sleep thanks to the rock-hard bed and relentless hallway noise that wasn't buffered at all by our door. We were near a hallway ice maker that buzzed all night. The doors slam loudly every time they're used. There were blobs of dried shower products left from previous guests. We stayed here because the pet charge was very reasonable, but even that didn't make it worth the price tag. Next time I make this drive, I will stay somewhere else.
My family stopped here on our way from Ohio to the Mall of America. The staff was good and courteous all the way from the top to the breakfast staff. The hotel and room was clean, shower had great water pressure, and the room was of good size. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was very quiet as I did not hear outside noises. The breakfast is average.
Couldn't ask for anything more. Great value, clean with exceptionally pleasant staff. Whenever I need a place while driving through, I will definitely stop here, even if going completely out of my way.
Perhaps we got the one bad room, but....the bathroom had two light switches. One didn't work (above sink, which made putting on make-up an experience), and the other that flickered, about ready to go out. We checked in late and left early so just dealt with that. Strike 1.. Grrr. One of us got up early to work out to find two treadmills and an out-of-service elliptical. That's it for cardio. Strike 2. Oof! Getting out of the shower, and having left the toilet lid up, afforded a straight-on view of a toilet rim that was covered in black filth. Strike 3...Blech! We were wondering what the Plus was in the BW Plus, when I asked my hubby why he wedged a folded piece of cardboard in the dresser drawer. He didn't so I checked it out. It was the only thing keeping the drawer closed! Game Over...LOL at this point!
I stayed here during a cross country drive. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly, including dealing with my pets. The room was no frills, but clean and well-laid out. The beds were comfortable, my only suggestion is that they invest in better pillows - mine were hard as rocks. Overall, a good deal for the price.
Friendly, accomidating staff. Responsive and Attentive to needs. Full breakfast. Easy check in and out. Quiet room, clean King suite,as pictured on web. Advise GPS Location difficult to find from the west without.
Not really sure how this hotel is considered a Best Western plus. It is an older building with a musty smell in the hallway. Smells like old carpet. Toilet had about a 1/2 inch ring of mold under the rim. Hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. Beds we're okay, room size decent. Overall, very average.
Best hotel bed I've ever slept in! On the flip side the pool was not working and the breakfast area was congested. They offered waffles, fried eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels, milk, coffee, water and juices.
After a 10+ hour drive, we needed a place to rest, sleep and refuel for the remainder of our trip. This Best Western was perfect. We were warmly welcomed to a clean, updated hotel. Very comfortable beds - and again, clean. **Pet friendly, we were traveling with our two dogs. Delicious hot breakfast.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Nice pool with a large juccuzzi. Great breakfast with a large variety of items to choose from. Great staff that are helpful and caring. Close to shopping, Notre Dame, and lots of great places to eat.
Nice, clean, friendly hotel. Nice clean rooms with full bathroom. TV was "Analog" with fuzzy and poor quality picture! Nice pool and hot tub. Great breakfast, but breakfast area was way too small. Small lobby. You couldn't just hang out in the lobby and visit, just one couch facing the front desk! ALWAYS had 2 or 3 employees sitting outside on bench by front door smoking! Had to walk through smoke EVERY time! Hotel was in dispute with Pepsi so not a single working vending machine! NOT my problem. Very inconvenient to hotel guests on hot summer days!
Liked the room, nice and clean. Liked that the room was close to a back door for our dogs and they had a clean grassy area, free of dog bombs, to walk our dogs. The only problem was when we left we were in a hurry and were overcharged an extra $20 dog fee and the girl at the front desk was not sure what to do. We were in a hurry so we just left.
Although the room was perfectly clean and very comfortable and everyone who worked there was super helpful and nice, the breakfast was a little disappointing and certainly no different than a regular Best Western. Hotel location however was perfect for getting around to may malls, restaurants and the university.
Our family stayed here 1 night as a stop while driving to the Midwest to visit family. We were travelling with our dog and needed a pet friendly hotel. This hotel was perfect for what we needed. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast was great with several choices including eggs and waffles. The hotel is a little difficult to find off the highway as the BW sign is blocked by another hotel sign sharing the same entrance. Located near a nice mall with several other retail stores in the area and great restaurants to choose from.
Convenient location, clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff. We were pleased with the quality of our pet friendly room with the exception of the fit of the bedding which tended to bunch up. The breakfast staff went out of his way to make sure everyone had what they wanted
This hotel is a great choice among many in the area: clean, friendly staff, ample sized & nicely decorated rooms, good beds, decent pool, spa & workout room, reasonable breakfast. It is also pet friendly, so it worked for our small dog. We were able to use the breakfast area for a quick family dinner upon arrival.
My family and I just stayed at this hotel Sunday night while on vacation. The hotel looks recently updated......modern looking, clean all around. We had a double queen room on the 3rd floor.....rooms are a good size. The beds are comfortable, there was a desk and office chair, TV, microwave, nice sized fridge, an upholstered chair with ottoman, plenty of towels and a closet with ironing board. The pool and hot tub were a lot of fun for the kids. They provide towels in the pool area. The hot tub is pretty large. The hotel overall was very quiet and we slept well. They have a free breakfast in the morning with a decent selection of food. The staff was very friendly too! It's in a nice neighborhood and is close to shopping, which was convenient. And the price was very reasonable. We would definitely go back if we are in that area again.
In town for a family wedding. Hotel was within 10 minutes of wedding venue. Three in our party and the rooms was comfortable and met our needs. Staff was friendly. Would stay there again when return to the area.
Overall a very pleasant stay, only issue with noise created by in room air conditioning unit. Breakfast was good in quality and the area was clean. Location to amenities is excellent, minutes to shopping or the Notre Dame campus.
We had a check in at 3pm and didn't have a room until 5:30pm. Than when we got into the room there were dirty wet washcloths left behind. I know the front desk stated they were really behind on cleaning rooms but... Our 4 and 7 yr old slept on the pull out sofa - as we opened it chip crumbs fell out. The final issue was the toilet that over flowed ( which wasn't clogged ) all over my feet at 7am. It took all the towels to clean the mess. I went to the front desk and asked for a plunger- she had one brought up and the maintenance guy just handed it to me and walked away. I'm an avid follower of reviews and not happy how this stay turned out especially being our last day of vacation .
Odd location to get to, tucked in behind several other hotels and a huge home improvement store. Quiet and safe, as the parking lot has only the one entrance, no drive through. Clean lobby, very nice dinning area, above average breakfast, clean rooms. We didn't have time to reserve ahead, so we paid a lot more than average but it was still in line with what we got. The only down side is the driving needed to get back onto the tollway. The on ramps to the tollway are very limited, I'm sure this affects business's, of which they have no control.
Visiting the northern part of the state before a reunion. Stopped to see Notre Dame before heading south. Staff welcomed us and very helpful in settling us and offering eating and sightseeing suggestions.
Nice comfortabe room with very comfortable bed. No chairs except the desk chair so to watch TV you had to use bed but very comfy with lots of pillows. Nice breakfast. Attendant very helpful. TV remote was defective but was replaced immediately. The room had plenty of outlets so we could recharge our phones, kindles and laptops. Clock, refrig and microwave in room. Room was small but adequate and very clean.
Good value for the price. Finding the place was a little tricky though. If I was in the area again, I would consider staying here again, especially since I know how to get there now. Breakfast could stand to be upgraded a bit though.
Good hotel, stayed here before and would come back again. Everything is updated and well-maintained. Comfy beds, nice linens, plenty of pillows, big screen tv. We stayed here during Notre Dame graduation weekend, so everyone was down for breakfast in a big rush at the same time and the breakfast staff did a great job of keeping all the food stocked. I did find the breakfast area itself a little small and cramped compared to other properties of this type though. Also, the waffle batter was strangely bitter. I made waffles the first 2 days, but threw the 2nd one out and skipped it on day 3. Pool and hot tub looked nice and clean, though I didn't use them. Staff was pleasant and greeted you as you went in or out daily. Little things like that make for a nice experience. Location is excellent right in the midst of Mishawaka for anything you need and 3 turns only to get to Notre Dame.
The staff at this location is amazing. It feels like home away from home. I highly recommend this location because it has great amenities overall. Everything was excellent and my stay was quiet. Thank you for the great customer services you provide to me during every stay there!
The second night of a cross country trip at the Best Western Mishawaka Inn was perfection after a nine long hours of driving. The staff was welcoming, the room was quiet and clean for a great nights sleep.
This motel was very clean and modern. Didn't use the pool or hot tub but it looked really nice. The hot breakfast was a nice addition. Wifi worked well. Beds comfortable. It was near many restaurants and in a decent neighborhood.
Best Western was near to multiple stores and restaurants. Wonderful staff, especially the front desk folks. Loved the gravy and biscuits. Good food presentation at breakfast time. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
It's a good place to stay while visiting college student.. and for graduation. The staff was happy to help to hold items at the desk, a gentleman accomodated my needs to carry a large gift to place in my car. They gave directions to 3 places when asked. Printing on their computer was free.
We booked a room the day of. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was your normal continental breakfast. Pool was clean, it was a smaller pool but perfect for the kids to have fun in.
In for a quick college visit with my children, warm greeting, easy quick check-in and check out. Room was clean, stocked and satisfying. Nice pool area. Well stocked and ample selection of breakfast choices. I would definitely use again.
Front desk was very friendly. Mike and Mary put us in a great room on the first floor, right next to fitness room and pool. Fitness room is up to date, and pool is clean and heated. It's a bit small for lap swimming, but adequate for doing so. Hot tub is huge and a newer model, not the old tile style tub. Business center has free printing. Coffee is pretty good, and they do have pre-packaged style omelets and sausage, waffle maker, yogurt, breads, pastries, apples. Room was clean and warm, bathroom pretty good size, medium sized fridge, and microwave. I will definitely stay here again.
Checking in late is a breeze with Michael the night shift attendant. He is super friendly and very helpful with suggestions of places to go. He listened to what we wanted and then suggested appropriate places. He even provided directions and a map.
It was an average hotel I have stayed and worse and I have stayed in better they did upgrade me but seems like they didn't want to do breakfast at the hotel were similar to the other locations they do not put a lot of bedding on the beds it would be nice if they had a better blanket
I always stay at this hotel when I am in the Mishawaka area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is well taken care of and clean. The beds are comfortable and I also love the pillows. I come here so often it is my home away from home.
Great staff, friendly and professional. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Great location to everything. Pet friendly which is a must for us. Breakfast is always on time, and nice. We didn't take advantage of the pool this visit, but as usual it appeared clean and well maintained. I would strongly recommend this hotel, for the amenities but mostly for the staff, lead by the GM Connie. They get it.
We arrived at this location at 2 am off of the toll road. Check in went fine. In the morning we requested a one hour late check-out, it was denied because we used a third party booking site even though we specifically chose this hotel (not Priceline deal). The occupancy of the hotel was no greater than 20%. I've never had a hotel not extend a stay an hour no matter how busy it was let alone not even offer it automatically for late check in travelers. I am unsure if it is a poorly trained employee but I suspect the issue lies with very poor management. I travel most of the year and need stay in hotels 5-10 days a month. I will specifically not be booking any Best Western properties due to the unacceptable "hospitality" offered by this employee.
Room had been smoked in by previous guest, staff did nothing to rid room of smell, and no offer to make me happy. I have stayed at this hotel several other times and front desk never has anyone at desk on check in.
Hotel is updated and clean. Beds are comfortable & the rooms are quiet. The price is great. We booked when we arrived and it was about 30$ cheaper than online. Big continental breakfast included, which was really good. Only problem was it was a bit tricky to find, we must have spent 40 mins looking for it. Every website has a different address. Seems like we were the only ones who encountered this problem though. Would recommend this hotel.
This turned out to be a very nice hotel. We checked in and there were a lot of small children running around. The pool was full most of the time we were there with very noisy wet bodies running up and down the hallway. Fortunately once we were in our room it was quiet. In fact this morning we thought we had beat the little bodies down for breakfast but once we steppped out of our room we realized that was not the case. Space was a premium at breakfast and they have a decent sized breakfast room. The room was large and clean. The staff were amazing. Even with all the goings on they were all pleasant. Even the person looking after breakfast who was cleaning up mess after mess still kept her cool. The front desk person was wiping up water from the hall, with a smile.
I'm just saying this is the best hotel I have ever gone to they had a great pool great rooms and so on and there breakfast there was amazing I hope you have a good time there have fun I'm not shure if they have a hot tub
This looked like a brand new hotel, very clean, rooms were great and had comfortable beds. I especially appreciated how dark the rooms were at night time, and the hotel was quiet. Very nice hot breakfast selection as well! There were lots of grassy areas to walk your dog. I highly recommend this hotel, especially while traveling with a dog.
We stayed here with our pet while on a cross country trek. The property is very clean and ideally situated close to most restaurants and great shopping (Costco, Whole Foods, Marshall's etc). The property has a terrific area to exercise your pet and the rooms were fine and quiet. Our neighbours complained because their room was next to the stairwell and they had noise but our room was great. Breakfast is okay but we ended up supplementing it with breakfast sandwiches from Starbucks. All in all, a good value and we would definitely stay againl
The room was clean. The staff was great! They were very helpful with directions. The hotel is near to many restaurants and shopping. It is a quick ride to the Notre Dame campus. No complaints about staying there!! Will stay again in the future.
I was weary about staying at a Best western since their moslty run down, bit this was a Plus so we thought to give it a try. We were all very happy with this hotel. Pleasant staff, very clean, beds were comfortable, an all in all great stay.
This is our second stay at Best Western Mishawaka. We stayed previously to drop our students at Notre Dame. This time we came out for the game. We were arriving well before the check time. My husband called to see if we could get into our room anyway. They were really nice about it, and we got an early check in!! When you need that, it is really a great start to a trip. The room was spotless, and really large, with a huge comfortable King bed, and a large sofa area with a coffee table. The room was quiet, despite it being football weekend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast (I'm boring and had only Raisin Bran, but they have that, so we were both happy) because a lot of good choices. We also appreciated the shuttle to the game. Really, I think the location is great because a lot of good restaurants are in Mishawaka. We will definitely be back!!
Stayed here one night on a business trip. Had a late flight into South Bend Airport and decided I would rather drive to Elkhart in the morning for my meetings. This hotel is about halfway between those two places Either this is a relatively new hotel or has been recently renovated. The carpet, furniture, and linens in my room all were very modern and nice looking. The bathroom had stone countertop, the tile in the shower/tub was sparkling white, and the entire room was very clean. Bed was fine, not great and four pillows of different firmness/shape. Staff here was incredibly friendly and efficient. My check-in at 10:30pm took less than 5 minutes, and the morning breakfast was nicely presented and tables all clean. Also appreciated that the ice machine was in a room at the end of the hallway, so it wasn't noisy in the hallway or my room. My room was rather quiet - didn't hear other guests, the sound of toilets flushing, and the hotel is in a quiet location (no traffic noise) would stay here again if I need to come back to the area
When my husband and I need a hotel in Mishawaka, we always stay at this Best Western Plus. We love the comfort of the mattress, the pool and hot tub, the friendly staff, the hot breakfast, etc. It is also very close to our daughter's apartment. This last stay was no exception. I highly recommend this hotel.
There was simply nothing wrong at all with this hotel. Check in was easy (asked for a specific room and was given it), front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. The pool area was clean (kids out by 10 - open to adults till midnight), hallways and rooms are spotless. Bed was comfortable (was in King Rm 200 - which is in the corner of the building). Shower head was tall enough for my 6'2" frame - with good water pressure. A/C was quiet all night - as were the hallways!! There could be a few more outlets for our plugged in lifestyle, but plenty for basic needs. Breakfast the day I visited was make your own waffles, fruit, bagels/breads, juice, coffee, cereal/milk and biscuits with sausage gravy (usual fare). This is well worth the stay!
The only reasons I would give this place anything less than a 10 are that it is not a particularly attractive place but it was very clean and the staff is excellent. The breakfast could be much better. Scrambled eggs would be better than what we had and the fruit was a mushy frozen variety. I don't fault the staff for that, just a suggestion that they could greatly improve the offerings. We've had much better at other Best Westerns. The location is excellent; easy access to all attractions and shopping in the area. I would recommend to others.
Clean room with fresh linens, good climate control. Pool and hot tub were nice. It was fairly quiet. The less good - the bathroom was a little tired and there was a large, dead bug on the floor. Room smelled slightly. And breakfast was on the low end for a Best Western - little fresh fruit, sad pre made eggs and greasy sausage, and only instant oatmeal. Slim pickings!
I found an unfamiliar bug on the carpet right next to the bed! I quickly stepped on it. Since my husband was already asleep I didn't'didn't'wake him. I tried to sleep. After a couple restless hours I got up and googled bed bugs. I think that's what I saw....and killed I took a shower and read in the bathroom because I was so freaked out about going on the carpet or near the bed. We ended up having breakfast at 6 am. And leaving because of the bug situation. We were on the 1st floor and didn't like the parking lot right outside our window. Staff was friendly though.
My wife, dog, and I stayed here on August 10, 2016. Excellent. The front desk clerk, Jessie, was nice. If you have a dog, the cemetery across the street is a pleasant place to go for a walk. The nearby Martin's supermarket is a great place to buy food and drinks.
I stayed here last night with my husband. One of the better Best Westerns I've been to! The room I stayed in was clean with good-looking furniture and all of the staff I've interacted with were all awesome. The hot tub is THE BEST. Jessie/Jesse was an absolute doll, her and Connie helped me with almost everything I needed. Lots of restaurants nearby, and a shopping mall. The breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, however, the breakfast staff was nice enough, but the food is rather mediocre, so I suggest just going out to a breakfast place. I would stay here again, though!
Room was clean and hotel was fine except for the A/C, which was truly obnoxious! Don't let them put you in room 105 unless it's been fixed. Breakfast offerings were above average. Pool small but nice. Convenient location. We are at Wings Etc and watched the Olympics.
Stayed at the Best Western Plus for one night while traveling east for a cross country move. With dogs it can always be a challenge to find a decent, much less good room. Pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of this hotel. For $111 (including all taxes, etc) we had a king suite. And instead of many hotels that relegate you to awful "pet friendly" rooms there was no noticeable difference. While the on/off from I-80 E was not as convenient as the map made it seem the price, quality and quietness made it very worthwhile. Recommend for dog and non-dog owners.
Some friends and I stayed at this hotel for a wedding and had nothing but great experiences. We had booked a king suite since there were four of us staying in one room. Once we got up to our room we realized we were placed in just an ordinary king room, definitely not big enough for all of us. The front desk was very helpful and friendly regarding the issue and gave us an extra room for no extra charge. The hotel was very clean and the continental breakfast had a really nice selection. There is also a lot of stuff to do as far as shopping and places to eat near the hotel. I had to deduct one star because although the staff was very friendly, they were pretty slow in terms of service but overall we had a great stay. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever in the area!
we came from out of town to this hotel, to go to a family members wedding that was in town. upon our arrival at 2:45pm, we were told the rooms werent clean or ready yet...mind you we had to be at the wedding by 4p, wewe finally were able to check in at 3:30p) we rushed to our rooms, changed and left so we could make the ceremony on time. i'm happy it was only 10 mins away..... the staff wasnt in the best mood, apparently some bad storms had come through the night before and left most of the town out of power, so alot of people checked in the hotel, which is why they were so behind. I honestly was so aggravated with this hotel, that i probably wont stay at a Best Western ever again. I will stick with Holiday Inns....
It has everything you need: room with space, big bed, free internet access, pool, restaurrant... a good hotel to come by for a short business trip! Of cclourse, service is good and people are nice. and you can make your own waffles for breakfast!
Location of the hotel is good and the room is spacious. The breakfast was just standard, only really good things were the strawberry waffles with different toppings and the friendly staff. Husband said the pool was warmer and nicer than most hotel pools. Overall, I just felt that the cleanliness standards weren't high enough. Everything was very dark, the room had an odor when we walked in and there was chapstick under the bedskirt from previous visitor. I did not notice a lot of traffic or people noise in the hotel though it was full, which is always a plus. Did not receive an upper floor room as requested. For what we paid, I wish we would have chosen a different hotel.
rooms were very clean and staff was very helpful, great locations close to everything in the town. breakfast was weak at best with very limited selection was hard to find something to eat dont plan on filling up for the day.
The staff were very friendly; from the desk workers, the cleaning staff and those that provided the daily breakfast. My room was very clean and well maintained. I also found my bed to be very comfortable and allowed me to sleep well. The location of the hotel was in very close proximity to many stores and eating establishments, so I wasn't far from any want or need. Should I return to the area again, I would more than likely consider this hotel again.
Enjoyed this location - would stay here again. Clean, quiet, pet-friendly, great breakfast, safe location. Was traveling on IN Tnpke. Easy online reservation system. Friendly interactions with staff. Reasonable Pet Fee - not all hotels have reasonable fees.
Just an overnight but we were very pleased. Check in and out was easy with friendly staff. Our room was a good size, king bed, fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable with particularly nice linens and pillows. We slept great! Everything seemed clean the bathroom floor the exception. The room was quiet. We heard no hall or door noise. We appreciated the pet friendly policy. Thank you. Breakfast was ok though no protein offerings. Plenty of cereals, breads, fruit, yogurt. The dining area was clean and bright. We enjoyed our stay!
Our 1st stay here and it was most enjoyable. We had our Chihuahua with us and there was plenty of grass, bushes and trees for his enjoyment. Well kept property, nice, clean modern rooms with free Wi-Fi. It's also situated right in the middle of a shoppers paradise with plenty of restaurant choices around. The complimentary breakfast was very good. I'm sorry I didn't get the name of the young lady who was managing the breakfast but she was very pleasant and hard-working. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed three nights while in town visiting family. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean lobby and common areas. Room was spacious and beds were great! Hot breakfast was good...wide variety from waffle maker and cereal to bagels and eggs with sausage. Would stay again!
We had a suite, which just meant we had a larger room with a king bed and sofa bed. It worked for our family of 4 and all of us were comfortable. The sofa bed had old linens on it, but once we notified the front desk they sent someone right up. The breakfast was okay, but the lady who ran it and welcome everyone was awesome. Super helpful and friendly. The pool was nice and warm and our girls loved swimming in it. Great location. Close to Target, Costco, lots of food options, downtown Mishawaka, Norte Dame, and downtown South Bend.
This is my 2nd stay at this hotel and it was just as good as the first. The rooms are clean and pleasant smelling. The cleaning people left me a note to say that I hope I enjoy my stay. The bathrooms were clean although the bath tub drain was a little clogged and didn't drain fast. But the hotel was quiet and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Will stay here again if I'm in this area.
The breakfast area was small, but the food offered was good. Typical noise from adjacent guests, and noisy A/C unit (better to turn off for the night). Standard room with typical hotel furnishings. Good water pressure.
This hotel is the best I have stayed in in a very long time. Extremely clean and all of the staff from housekeeping to the Manager are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Every thing you need is either at the hotel or very close. Very quiet stay.
I recently stayed here for three nights during a relocation. The rooms are clean and updated, and the property is well-maintained. The front desk staff were all very helpful and friendly. I was able to stay in a room away from the highway, and although there was some night noise from the big box store across the way, it was easily managed by either turning on the fan or wearing earplugs. The location is convenient to a variety of stores and places to eat, to the highway, and to greater South Bend. And the room rate was reasonable. I would have given this 5-stars, but the pet fee is extremely high relative to competitor chains and is the one factor that would probably keep me from staying here (or other Best Westerns with similarly high pet fees). Overall, though, a lovely property.
Wonderful people, super hotel, great place to stay. This is a wonderful hotel to stay at for business or pleasure. Close to restaurants, and easy access to the highways. Front Desk people are awesome!
My room was away from the highway and was very quiet. The mattress was perfect. The staff members were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast offerings were more than adequate--cheese omelet, sausage patties, fruit, cereal, waffles, coffee and juice, etc. A local newspaper was also offered. A good value.
Lobby and rooms are always clean. Jets were broken on the hot tub. Beds were noisy. Daughter loves their pool! This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. Would still consider it again for our future trips to Indiana.
This place was like a home away from home. Super clean and cozy. We will definitely be back here. The front desk staff was amazing and courteous. The breakfast was good and stocked well. The desk in the room was an added bonus since I had to catch up on work.
There was a bit of confusion as to how to apply a travel credit that had been earned by staying at Best Western for two nights. On check in the staff did not know how to apply. at check out the credit had not been applied. But in persuing the issue it was taken care of
My wife and I stayed here on May 7, 2016. Excellent. I like the amenities, location, and especially, the staff. Nathaniel at the front desk was terrific. Previously there were problems with the housekeeping, but they've cleaned up their act. Pun intended.
Great hotel. Friendly people. Nice, hot breakfast; cozy breakfast nook. Clean; most everything worked. Hot tub jets didn't work. Good exercise room. Quiet for the most part. Occasional noises crept in,but not a serious problem. Elevator was a bit slow; but easy to use the stairs. Ample parking w/o charging us.
I do have to say this is one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed at. The only complaint that we had was that the bed was so high off of the floor that we needed to bring in the step stool from my husband's truck so that I could get into bed. There was no way I was doing it without it. Other than that, it was a very nice room.
Our room wasn't cleaned very well. Had dust on everything. When you sat or slept on the bed, it sounded like you were going to fall through. It was so LOUD! The pool didn't have any towels, so we enjoyed walking into the cold hallway to go ask for some. The jets on the hot tub didn't work. The front desk told us we used the switch wrong but we didn't. They just didn't want to fix it. Breakfast was decent.
The hotel is clean with a friendly helpful staff. The king bed was firm with 4 pillows. The bathroom was a nice size with a large counter top with one sink and a decent shower (curved shower rod) and decent water pressure. Plenty of room lights and the temperature controlled window unit did a good job keeping it the temperature I wanted. A small refrigerator and microwave were in the room too. The hallways were clean and had vending/ice at the one end. I didn't use the indoor pool but it wasn't too big. But if you have young children they would enjoy it. The breakfast buffet was standard fare and what you would expect with a nice seating area directly across from the front desk. My only mishap was after arriving I flopped down into the chair in the corner with ottoman after my 4 hour car ride. The night stand corner overlapped the chair arm and gave my elbow a good whack! About 10 min later I realized I was bleeding and had done so on the arm of the chair (cloth). I called the front desk (this was about 10:30pm) and asked if they had any peroxide to get it out. The girl that checked me in came up a few min later with a spray bottle with peroxide and took it right out. Problem solved. They only problem was she left the cordless front desk phone in the room which began ringing at 2:30am. In my confusion of half asleep and dark I thought it was the room phone, but by the time I'd answer, there was only a dial tone. Finally I took the room phone off the hook, but awoke to ringing again at 3:30am. Now with lights on, I find the front desk phone. I ended up returning it the morning after leaving it off the hook to get some sleep. But other than that, nice clean hotel close to several chain restaurants and a shopping center with many stores, including a Target with full grocery store. I'd recommend this place.
I really enjoyed my stay at your location! Good breakfast, speedy internet, and excellent room quality. My only suggestions would be to discuss the appearance of the employees (not all) because some did not come off as professional.
Our group was on a 2 week trip to Boston and back. This hotel met our needs so nicely that we rebooked the same rooms for our return trip home. Nice, clean, friendly and convenient to shopping, It was a fairly easy find right off the interstate and the price made it a good value.
Very nice hotel and is very close to most shopping and eating areas. Beds are very firm and sometimes hurt you back. Pool area is nice and they have a very good breakfast. Staff is very friendly and the hotel is quiet and very restful
Our family enjoyed a Spring Break getaway the week after Easter. We throughly enjoyed the clean, comfortable rooms, the beautiful pool area, and fantastic customer service. It was also a huge bonus that we could bring our small French Poodle along for the trip for an extra $20 per night. This was really a nice bonus. All staff were very nice and accommodating. We will be back!
I'll start by saying we never actually stayed in this hotel. We made a reservation for 3 rooms through a third party booking site for a little get-a-way weekend so that the kids could swim and the adults could play games and socialize together. We went to check into the hotel and the lady at the front desk informed us that the pool was closed all weekend because of an accident that had happened in it. We explained to her that is the reason we chose this hotel and she could see our disappointment. She instantly offered us a full refund. Since we had booked through a third party source, it wasn't as easy as "here is your money back". She got on the phone and spoke to Hotwire directly to explain the situation and made sure we were refunded. She then directed us to another local hotel. Like I said before, we never actually stayed in our room, but I was blown away by how friendly and understanding they were. They didn't have to help us get or give our money back, but they did and they were very helpful and friendly. Great staff, will defiantly stay here in the future if needed!
They couldn't be more gracious and the room was excellent! They were so friendly and courteous and the room was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the best thing was the room was so convenient at the end of the hallway for my dogs. They were comfortable too!
Great location near mall, restaurants, freeway, etc. Stayed at the hotel while on a college visit to Notre Dame--hotel is less than 15 minutes from the University. The hotel is "tucked away" in a quiet area--very clean and friendly staff. We were given a room near the door to the dog walk area.
I needed a hotel to lay my head down for the night feeling like I would fall asleep on the road if I tried to push it. I "randomly" found the Best Western in the internet and felt compelled to go there....something I ordinarily would not do because Best Western typically gives me a weird vibe. This Best Westen was blessedly different not only because of the clean, classic decor but mainly because the quirky lovely warm attentive helpful informed intelligent presence of a young woman named Jessica who for some odd reason (I luv her becuz she is odd) just prefers to work 3rd shift. I have never met anyone like her on a night shift. Refreshingly friendly and smart we talked talked talked....she made my visit memorable and believe you me I will frequent that exact Best Westen becuz of her...I do believe she deserves a generous raise and appreciation...She has a lot more substance than meets the eye per se...get to know her and invest in her future TMI Hospitality....executives at TMI hospitality.....thx a million trillion for treating your employees well.....
I lived in the South Bend-Mishawaka area for over 50 years and have since moved to Arizona. We needed to return for a family funeral and found this "gem" in Mishawaka. It is strange to return to your old stomping grounds and have to locate a motel, but we chose this one because of their location as well as being dog-friendly. We found it clean and the staff very friendly. The grounds were clean for walking our dog and that is a plus for us! We would and have recommended this motel already to others. I feel we should have received a lower rate since we were staying for 4 nights, but they didn't agree . . .
Good location and pet friendly which was our main reason for staying here. Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. In general, the hotel could use a good cleaning. In the breakfast room there was expired milk in the frig and there was only paper plates and flimsy plastic utensils that had trouble cutting thru a waffle. At least plastic plates and sturdier utensils would be appreciated.
Pet-friendly. Good location. Very clean. Newly refurbished contemporary rooms. The staff was on-the-ball and very helpful. On the road to Chicago. Near to restaurants. Quiet. Usual Best Western breakfast.
I've stayed in just about every hotel in the South Bend / Mishawaka area over the past couple of years and you will be hard pressed to find a property that offers a better combination first class service and absolute value than Best Western Plus Mishawaka Inn. GM Connie and her staff is always friendly and ready to help. On top of this, the hotel is always impeccably clean. Guests are always shown respect, and a welcoming and relaxing environment is maintained. They really do go above and beyond. One time, I checked out and forgot several premium micro brews in my mini fridge. Knowing that I would be returning in a couple of weeks, the staff set them aside and kept them for when I returned. You honestly will not find that sort of mindfulness and dedication to serving the comfort of the guest in many places and certainly not in most large hotel chains. On top of the great staff and clean, welcoming environment, the rooms are equipped with all you need, including a super comfortable bed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone!
We were truly amazed at how nice the people were at this hotel, the staff was on point and very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had 2 rooms, one was accessible and ours was dog friendly. I still find myself thinking about how nice and accommodating everyone was.
I always stay at this hotel when I go to Indiana on business. I like the location, it's close to many restaurants and the service is friendly. In my past stays I had really sweet and thoughtful people that have turned down my bed and left nice notes.
I've stayed here twice now. The rooms are very updated and contemporary. Bed is comfortable with nice linens. They are lacking the lamps with plugs-ins by the bed etc. for the business travelers or anyone that needs to charge their electronic devices while they sleep. Staff is very nice and accommodating. What's disappointing is the breakfast. I stay at all types of hotels in this category and never do I eat off of cheap paper plates but that's what they have here. Frozen fruit, waffles, sausage and warmed up omelets and the usual fanfare but not a great experience this time. Tables were dirty too and it was only 7:00 a.m. My coffee maker in my room had the previous guests coffee in it yet too. Yuck!
Booked hotel because the price of $72, good reviews and I am Best Western reward member. It is a bit of a hike off I 80 but the room is clean and spacious. There is a mall and all amenities on the Main Street outside the hotel. Bathroom looks a bit dated but overall the hotel had a nice decor and is very clean.
Stayed here several times with my 2 under 10 lb.dogs who are house broken.Glad they can stay with me just wish they would charge for pets only if warranted due to irresponsible pet owners.Beds comfortable hotel clean staff is awesome.
The hotel was very nice and the employees were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a little hard to see at night but my GPS found it. I really enjoyed being able able check into a very nice clean room, and a big plus, the bed slept great. I had been driving in the snow for 6 hours and it felt good to have a great place to stay. I'm glad that chose the Mishawaka Inn to get some rest.
I have stayed at several hotels in the South Bend area. This was by far the best for the value. The staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was good, had several choices both hot and cold. Room was spacious. Shower head and water pressure was perfect. Bed was comfortable. It is close to several restaurants, shopping and hospital. I would definitely stay here again.
I enjoyed my stay very much. Stayed for two nights during Thanksgiving. The room was very clean, the decor is stylish and modern. The bed was so comfy, I looked forward to returning to the hotel on the second night, so I could sleep in that huge comfortable bed. Check in and out was very swift and professional. I would recommend this hotel for a clean, quiet stay, however this was not a Notre Dame sports weekend.
Lukewarm breakfast items that were supposed to be hot. No problem with the staff. HVAC system was not working correctly. Had to open window for cool air. To be fair we didn't report any of the problems.
The Staff were very friendly. The rooms were beautiful and the bed was super comfy!!! The pool was great just the right size. Breakfast options were on point. It was great having a mini fridge and microwave in the room
Great weekend. Enjoyed the Best Western, location was great, staff very pleasant. Breakfast ok, need to add bacon/sausage if at all possible. Love the idea of the pool/hot tub being open past 10:00p.m. Would recommend this hotel/location for another Fun Weekend.
Location was convenient for our trip back home from PA. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Found a great restaurant for dinner at the Granite Brewery. Only disappointment was the breakfast... Hotel was only half full, but there was no room in the breakfast area for seating. What do they do when the hotel is booked solid? Hot food wasn't and coffee was the worst of our vacation.
I have many good memories from other Best Westerns, so this one came as a bit of a surprise. They did have free Wi-Fi and even computers in the lobby, but the machine I thought was a scanner-printer-fax turned out not to have scanning capabilities. (I did not ask what it actually was.) The staff was friendly and helpful, but not necessarily detail oriented. The continental breakfast was what I would expect at a lesser ranked hotel. Like all the hotels in the area, you will be extremely overcharged during Notre Dame football home games. (We stayed Thursday and left Friday because the cost would have more than doubled for the game.) The hotel is close to a major shopping area, a budget cinema, and many restaurants. Notre Dame is about a five minute drive away as long as there isn't any traffic. We stayed in a pet friendly room with our cat. There is a pet walk in back and a back door that makes it easier to not only walk animals, but also bring in the additional supplies they need without tracking them through the lobby. However, the room smelled like previous pets. I do not usually travel with animals so I am uncertain if this is common in pet-friendly rooms. The swimming pool and hot tubs were nice. We asked for a rollaway, which we got, but it seemed like it might have been the only one available in the entire hotel. Also, we had a problem with the toilet clogging and based on the staff response, it seemed like this is a common feature of this hotel. As I stated earlier, the hotel was nice, but not as nice as other Best Westerns where I have stayed. I paid for a luxury visit and got a mediocre one. If I could redo the night, I would have stayed at one of the other local luxury hotels instead.
This is a nice clean place to stay...nothing fancy. the breakfast is good but the breakfast area is too small. the rooms were nice but dated. The price for the first night was reasonable but the next two nights they doubled in price because of the ND football game.
Nice hotel, too bad the room was not clean; dirty toilet and bath tab, plastic bag on the floor. The toilet overflowed so we had to change rooms. The bread at breakfast was not fresh, whatever is left was bagged and saved for the day after. Service was friendly but I do not recommend.
Dirty wash room, towel had brown stain, toilet bowl was dirty with ring around it and yellow stain, open sop bar in shower, Carpet was old, Beds were comfortable. Internet was great breakfast good parking, great staff,
This is by no means a five-star hotel and the accommodations are not the finest. Although you pay five-star prices during football weekends, everyone in the area charges exorbitant fees during Notre Dame home games so you can't fault them for that. What they did do was provide a clean, comfortable location with friendly staff that met every possible need we had during our three day stay. Personal touch: We had a dog with us and didn't want to burden the cleaning staff with dealing with him so we kept the "Do not disturb" sign up all weekend. The staff, noticing we hadn't had our room serviced, was kind enough to leave a pail of fresh towels, toiletries and everything else we had planned to do without. It was a great touch. This will be my location of choice for Irish weekends going forward.
Great place to stay! Clean, friendly staff with excellent service. Room rates reasonable. This hotel is close to all the restaurants, shopping and just about anything and everything a guest would need. Love this hotel as it's just minutes away from the University of Notre Dame. UND one of America's most beautiful campus's in the US. GO IRISH!!
I love this Best Western. The location is close to many restaurants orr things to do, they have great staff, clean rooms, nice hot tub and pool and serve a great breakfast. We have stayed at this location a number of times and only one time we had a problem with the hot tub..something that was not fixable at that moment..all things break down..so not their fault. Otherwise it is good quality for your money.
Super clean room, pool, and grounds. Front desk manager asked on a number of occasions if everything was going well with our stay. Swimming pool had adult only hours in the evening. Hot tub was the right temperature and a very large quality model. Even with pets allowed the grounds were immaculate with no surprises in the grass while strolling after a swim.
