"Not a good experience"

debbielynnstevens, Williston, North Dakota 03/05/2021

Front desk clerk very rude when checked in. Rooms were dirty. Breakfast good. When called yo complain they didn't seem too concerned. The next morning front desk crew was friendlier. Not a good experience. Can't believe how rude and lazy front desk lady was when we checked in at midnight on the 30th of April

"Never stay there again!!!"

278SusanK, Peoria, Illinois 01/05/2021

I have stayed here once a month for the last year. Sometimes I do park n fly and one of those times I called for the shuttle only to be told they could not pick me up. Had to pay Uber to get back to my car. Last month room was dirty,, I mean DIRTY. Rudely the manager said they would come up and sweep and clean tub. This month there was something sticky with hair stuck it on the sheets and dried food on the spread. I took them off the bed and carried them to the manager who informed me they send bedding out to be cleaned. Also was told when I made reservations I would not have to pay extra to park n fly. When checked in the as told my bill would be $50 higher. Then when I got into airport and called, was told shuttle started running in two hours. Each time the manager was involved, she had bad attitude. They don't care if they have customers so they will never have ‘this customer' again. Monday there will be call to corporate with my experiences and then I will call health department and complain. Don't stay here!!!

"Lumpy beds"

Zeaamom, Tucson, Arizona 01/05/2021

Clean hotel, decent location, the beds should be replaced since they were a bit lumpy and uncomfortable. The location is close to the gateway airport for those needing a place to stay before a flight or after. There is a farm nearby and you will smell it while outside, it is not noticeable while inside though.

"Phoenix Visit"

User 23/04/2021

I've traveled extensively around the world and overall this was a good experience and would stay here again. Room was clean and staff was great. Need more water pressure and one lamp didn't work. Need USB ports on the lamps.

"Very clean hotel with excellent staff!"

tremmelamy, Racine, Wisconsin 17/04/2021

This hotel was lovely. Great price and awesome staff. Everything was spotless and beautiful. The pool was very nice and kept clean. Housekeeping was friending and very accommodating. Overall great value for the money. Best buy!!!

"Rude Employees"

User 08/04/2021

This hotel has the rudest employees I've ever experienced. A girl named "Rona" answers the phones with such an attitude and puts me on hold in the middle of a sentence. I've talked to her twice on the phone and she's been so rude. I ask to speak with the Manager Stacy, who defends Rona because she's busy? She told me they always put people on hold without letting them speak because they are so busy. I asked Stacy what their cancelation policy is, because at that point I wanted to stay somewhere else. So she tells me she'll cancel my reservation for me, because it sounds like I wouldn't be happy there anyways. lol wow! Rudest people I have ever met in the hospitality industry. Usually we stay at Hyatt or Marriott because they do not treat their guests that way. Stacy the manager actually hung up on me before I could confirm that my card would not be charged.

"Overpromise and underdelivered breakfast."

Rai O, Anaheim, California 03/04/2021

The hotel is comfortable, well up to the standard of this brand, However, the promised hot breakfast never appeared. Instead, we got a breakfast bar, some fruit, a very commercial muffin and coffee which the front desk handed out reluctantly. No juice or cereal.

"Wonderful Service"

WowTraveler, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 24/03/2021

The employee checking us in went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms were nice and large with high ceilings, and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. Nice breakfast in a bag during Covid. Couldn't ask for better service!

"Needs renovation help"

BBmom16, Central Arizona, Arizona 09/03/2021

This hotel is in a great location but the facility is falling apart. There is no attention to detail in the time of Covid where everything should be clean, in working order and sanitized. None of this was happening. Pool was filled with 20-30 people, room was falling apart.

"Nasty,Stinky, and Loud"

User 06/03/2021

The room had a nasty smell. The hotel left a note letting you know it's from the dairy farm. The pool/hot tub area had chicken around it and in it. The staff knew, the let us know it was from the bad wind the day before. Yet no one had cleaned it up. Breakfast to go was not ready and the lady at the front desk wrapped in her blanket watching TV was annoyed that I asked her to make ours. Don't plan on sleeping, people party at this hotel. It was loud with music, and drunk people yelling and running around.

"Stay away"

User 05/03/2021

Love Best Western, but not this site. Horrible experience. Waited 20 minutes at night with nobody at the front desk to report a plumbing problem. Heard somebody mention pizza when she finally returned. Crabby manager next morning defended missing front desk person and would only give a $30 credit. That's far from excellent customer service. Take out breakfast bag would embarrass a child. Some people skills training badly needed at this location from corporate office.

"Wonderful place to spend last night of vacation"

recorder, Pineville, Missouri 19/02/2021

Last night is always kind of sad. We have to get all our stuff together, try to repack and jettison what we can't take with us. We booked a room here and it was nearly as large as our house back home, (well maybe not quite). There was a large room with a 12 x 12 corner room attached. It made for a pleasant experience. The room was so clean and the temperature was perfect and there was so much room to sort our mess out in that I didn't feel so bad about ending another trip. Plus it was only minutes to the airport.

"Bw review"

User 11/01/2021

Hotel staff was great and very helpful. We needed batteries for our fire alarm they came up and changed it so quickly! Bw was close to where we needed to be. The room was perfect and clean. Check in and check out was easy and quick! Would stay there again!

"worst stay"

Elmer R, Janesville, United States 05/01/2021

The paint on the walls look like a 6th graer painted the room, various colors of white. For the price you might as well save 60 to 70 and stay at a motel 6. On the other hand for 10 more you can stay at nicer hotel in the same area.

"Hotel has gone downhill"

User 27/12/2020

Very slow check-in, which was probably due to only one person at the desk. The cleanliness of our room was horrible. Spider webs on the ac, hair in the bathroom, unknown substance under bathroom sink. Due to the pandemic breakfast is a grab and go bag, which is understandable. But what I don't understand is if it's just a grab a bag, why can't they offer it until checkout time.

"Christmas Eve"

kjacobs044, Mesa, Arizona 26/12/2020

A terrific stay. Right from the start with great holiday decor, terrific service and an amazing room. Such a great experience for this trip. Everyone and everything was awesome!! Thank you so much for making it a great experience!!

"Convenient to the Airport in Mesa"

Mike H, Phoenix, Arizona 23/12/2020

We had a late night flight in that arrived about 12 AM so instead of driving back home we just stayed the night at this hotel. Clean and easy to get to. Good access to the freeway but the only draw back was the breakfast. bottle of water, a brown banana, a granola bar and a small muffin. Other BW that we stayed at this year had egg sandwiches that could be heated up and other goodies. But we were able to have some real food at home.

"Food in refrigerator"

dnflacey03, Glendale, Arizona 15/11/2020

When I opened the refrigerator to put in water bottles I found left over food from the previous guest. Also the mirrored closet doors had smears of some sort on them. I found a housekeeping staff and they removed the food but did not offer to clean the refrigerator. Good thing I bring my on disinfecting wipes.

User 09/11/2020

The shower curtain was dirty! We didn't have enough towels nor toilet paper for everyone. The furniture was dusty. Makes me wonder if the room was cleaned at all. Gross! The grab and go breakfast was pretty pathetic too. At least change it up so we're not getting the same thing everyday.

"bad service but good location and room at a good price"

User 26/10/2020

The room was not serviced especially in the weekend. Not enough soap and shampoo (bring your own) and the beds were not made, Towels were not enough. Breakfast was also not sufficient and should be improved greatly. Location was great and so was the beds and size of room.

"Bigger than average rooms."

mandmholman, Portland, Oregon 16/10/2020

Bigger than average rooms. Nice clean hotel with modern amenities. Close to freeway and restaurants. Be aware of a working dairy close by and the smell of cow manure every morningWhen you walk outside.

"Need to hire a new cleaniing staff!"

Howard J, Thousand Oaks, California 08/10/2020

My family traveled to Messa AZ for a soccer tournament from California. We arrived at the hotel at 1:30PM and received a room. The room we received was trashed and opbviously was never cleaned. We told the front desk and they sent the team in to clean the room. By 3:30PM our room was still not cleaned. We complained and the staff provided us with a suite for our troubles, however that room too required to be cleaned. So we waited another hour and finally received our room. During this 3 hour waiting period, we watched as others checked into the hotel and received their room, which was quite odd to us. When we arrived in our room we found that the countertops, TV, and desk were dusty and never wiped down. In addition we found trash on the floor and on the countertop next to the coffee maker. We expected that since we are in a pandemic the hotel would take extra cleaning measures and this hotel did not. My wife and i were exhausted from our 7 hour drive and needed to get ready for our sons soccer game that night so we got sanitizing wipes and cleaned the hotel room ourselves. Lastly there was a light bulb that was not working in the room that required changing.

"good hotel stay for the price"

User 31/07/2020

Good hotel stay for the price. Friendly staff. Will stay here next time in Mesa. Felt safe with all the CV19 going on. Near airport and able to get there in 10 minutes. They offered a bag and go breakfast to get us out the door fast to catch flight.

"Unexpected Stay"

ShiloeRevae, Sioux City, Iowa 08/07/2020

After our flight was deelayed and cancelled three times, we ended up staying at this Best Western for an unexpected overnight stay until our 6am flight. The hotel was not only very accommodating but beautiful. They had free shuttle to and from the airport, breakfast to go bags. In the morning we had to leave at 4am. When our ride didn't show, the driver came in an hour early to take us to the airport. They were very accommodating to our family of 8. Highly recommend and will stay again!

"Virus Priced!"

User 21/04/2020

They were great at working to get a reasonable rate during this time of uncertainty! Hotel was in great shape. Front desk attendants are very helpful with all my needs and answered all my questions. They were even knowledgeable about surrounding businesses.

User 23/03/2020

I held an event where I reserved 6 rooms for officials at the event. One of my people woke up with bed bug bites on her arm. She repoerted this to the front desk and showed them her bites. We appreciated that they moved her to another room and we were told we would get a refund for that night. Another of my officials reported a foul smell in her room. After our event, I made three attempts to speak with the manager and NEVER received a return call to discuss the matter. The woman who had the bed bug bites contacted their corporate. Corporate contacted the Mesa hotel. The response from the Mesa hotel was that they do not have aproblem and basically accused us of lying. I would avoid this hotel both for its cleanliness and its manner of doing business

"A Very Nice Hotel, and Free Dinners, Too"

urbanguy, Richmond, Virginia 23/03/2020

We stayed in a one King Bed Suite for five nights. It was a very nice room, with a comfortable bed. The hotel is on Power Road, which I found to be very convenient to getting around the Phoenix area. During our stay, we explored Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek, and Phoenix. The breakfast was pretty good. Every day, there was eggs, a meat, and biscuits and gravy for hot foods. And, of course, the "usual," i.e., waffles, yogurts, pastries, some fresh fruits, etc. At this BW, there is an "evening social," from 5:30-7:00 PM. That consists of one free drink (beer or wine) per person, and a dinner plate, e.g., hamburgers, minestrone soup, and spaghetti, while we were there. In the room, there was an information sheet entitled, "What smell is that?" It turns out that approximately 3 miles from the hotel, there is a dairy farm (100s of cows). Clearly, depending on the wind directiono and velocity, you can sometimes smell the farm outside (NEVER inside) the hotel. Interestingly, the farm gives guided tours every day but Sunday and Monday. The occastional smell outside the hotel was never an issue for us. I thought the hotel was very clean, inside and out. The folks there were very nice and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again on any future visit to the Phoenix area.

"Overnite Visit Near Airport"

JustaCruzan, Saint Louis, Missouri 19/03/2020

Stayed in this hotel for a quick layover due to its proximity to Mesa/Gateway airport. Lobby and room were clean. Front desk crew were friendly. Got a great tip to visit nearby town of Gilbert, which was a great place to go for dinner, drinks, and holiday lights. There is an agricultural stench in the air, but not overpowering at the hotel, when I was there; and not detectable inside the building. So not really a problem. Mattress was sufficiently comfortable. Quiet location. I would stay here again.

"Awful smell outside and dirty inside hotel. Dusty and dirty room with extremely noisy air conditioner."

mbrass96, Osceola, Indiana 06/03/2020

Terrible smell from cow farm. Almost unbearable. Hotel was not clean and could hear the guy next door snoring in our room. Air conditioner was noisy with its on and off cycle. Only thing good was the breakfast.

"Thrifty travelers"

User 04/03/2020

Hotel is very conveniently located to Mesa/Gateway airport. There are several restaurants within a couple miles too. It's a newer facility, nicely decorated with comfortable beds. However rooms are not well-sound proofed—we could hear talking & TV noise from next room. Average hot/cold breakfast selections, but serving & seating area are tight quarters.

"Great place to stay when vacationing in Mesa, AZ"

Bronco2, Saskatchewan 03/03/2020

Have stayed at B/W Legacy Inn on numerous occasions over the past several years and have always been provided excellent customer service by the staff - very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts are great and the complimentary Manager's evening special meal is an excellent service provided to guests - great idea. The pool and hot tub area is very well kept and we spent a great day relaxing poolside. We recommend B/W Legacy Inn for a great stay in Mesa - and we look forward to staying there again. .

"no hot water for shower 3 mornings in a row"

User 01/03/2020

No hot water for shower 3 mornings in a row reported first day attempts made to fix but bottom line We had no hot water for a shower. we would have liked to take a bath but water not warm enough for that we were on vacation and had the time to take bath but could not. I have never stayed at ANY hotel/motel that has had that problem before. FOlks very nice and i think serious efforts were made to correct problem....but We still had no hot water in our shower.

"Clean hotel, nice place to stay"

User 24/02/2020

Nice clean place, quick check in. Fresh baked cookies given at check in. We happened to be there when they had a managers special free dinner. Hamburgers with beer or wine or soft drinks. Made it nice we didn't have to go out again for dinner. Great Value.

"No driver!"

drmoore, Pekin, Illinois 21/02/2020

So I booked this hotel because it had airport shuttle .... well I called after we had our luggage at the airport, I was told they would be there in 7 or 8 minutes. 30 minutes later I called again and was told they didn't have a driver today but they didn't have my # to inform me that double tree van was picking us up instead. Finally made it to the hotel. King suite was big but needs new furniture. Bed was firmer than we like. Breakfast area is crowed! They need more seating! Coffee is instant!! Room coffee is much better, however I had to ask house keeping for regular coffee because there was 4 packs of decaf and only 1 regular pack. Also had to ask for toilet paper because I was afraid we would run out and there wasn't an extra roll in the room. So all in all not a great experience. We're staying here the night before we fly home we'll see it that experience is any better.

"Loved our stay"

marydA4652MB, Sturtevant, Wisconsin, United States 21/02/2020

We are a retired couple who stayed for 1 week for vacation. We would definitely stay there again. Staff was very friendly and helpful and not only did you get free breakfast, but in the early evening, Ed from the bar also served a light meal with a glass of wine or beer that was also complimentary. Could maybe use a few more chairs around the pool. Looking forward to the next time.

"Decent stay, housekeeping needs some work"

User 17/02/2020

A friend of mine was in town for the weekend. Upon arrival everything was good. The first night my daughter - 9 months old - spit up her dinner on our bed and spilled a little bit of milkshake on my friend's bed. These "stains" were noticeable. The next day we left for a hike, and when we came back I noticed that housekeeping had come by. However, they didnt change the sheets. Clear as day was the milkshake and baby spit up on the "made" bed. The housekeeping literally just redid our bed with the gross sheets, and threw the pillows at the headboard. I was in shock. I told the front desk and they said they would take care of it. When we got back from lunch, the sheets were new, but the bed was so discheleved. It was laughable. The housekeeper didnt even bother to tuck in the sheets or fix the pillows. Decent place, but housekeeping needs major help.

"Great stay with the Best!"

User 11/02/2020

My family and myself were very pleased with our stay at the Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites! Although it was a short stay, the staff were very helpful and polite. The facility itself appeared clean which made for a comfortable stay! Thank you for a great experience!

iluv2trvl83, New York Mills, Minnesota 03/02/2020

We booked this hotel for a girls weekend to Arizonza - SUPER close to the Phoenix-Mesa airport, easy to get on and off the 202, just thought this would be the perfect place to stay. When I called and made the reservation, I indicated with the lady, that I needed the room with 2 queen beds and the sofa sleeper because there was 5 of us staying. Perfect - the room was available, wonderful! We got to the hotel late, our check in took forever and we were the only ones at the desk checking in, and it sounded like the receptionist was watching TV on her computer or something... she asked how many people - I said 5 - SHE NEVER said anything else regarding the number of people. NOTHING!!!! We get up to our room, and the SMELL was horrible and I mean horrible to the point that we went out and purchased Glade plugins the following day to make it somewhat livable. As mentioned, we got in late, went to bed and when we woke up the following morning, we were able to more take in the room. There was syrup all over the desk, garbage in the window seals and just not a clean room, and we never did mention anything until we ran out of toilet paper because we had 1 roll in our room and towels that were needed. The breakfast each morning morning was good - it was a "hot breakfast". The pool needed more of a seating area or a courtyard to sit - that was a very small area. Fast forward to a day or so after we checked out - I was reviewing my credit card transactions and noticed a charge of an additional $158.00 - I called the hotel and was told that it looks like there was a rate change, ummm okay? why and why wasn't I informed when this changed?? - I was told that the reservation was made for 2 people, and there system automatically adds the additional amount for the extra people -- I WAS NEVER EVER told that there was a charge for additional people -- especially when I reserved the room for 5 people! UMM HELLO? I asked to speak to the manager and was told that "I am the manager". She said that your confirmation indicates that you reserved the room for 2 people, after reviewing my reservation confirmation - it states 1 Adult, not 2 or 5 but 1. That is not what I reserved - and no where on my confirmation does it indicate that the rate is for up to 2 people, believe me, I have checked over and over my confirmation. The "manager" did assist with splitting the cost with me however, - what I am more frustrated with is the fact that no one EVER told me there is going to be a rate change. So moral of this review is to make sure you double check everything! I am also more than likely not going to be reimbursed by the others in my party for the additional charge that I am now covering.. -- so thanks Legacy Inn for making this review negative and more frustrating that ever. I will be looking elsewhere when we come back down in April.

"Smokers violating the non-smoking policy"

Mark B, Montana, United States 27/01/2020

Cigarette smoking was evident (reeked of freshener first night and then the stale smoke smell on nights two-three) in our third floor room...cigarette butts hidden in the window track. Obvious renters have smoked with the window open and thought they were hiding the evidence. Gross behavior and laziness. BW has a no smoking policy and violators do what they do...violate policy. Staff obviously knows of the issue due to the heavy use of freshener sprays in an attempt to cover the orders. Should have asked for another room, but other guests stated they had the same experience and the hotel appeared to be booked solid; evidenced by the full parking lot. We will not stay at this specific BW property again.

"Pass on This One"

helpfultraveller99, Kelowna, Canada 23/01/2020

When I booked this I realized we would need to stay at the hotel for dinner as we had to return our car rental. The hotel description said there was a bar/lounge. It turned out to be a very small part of the same room they use for breakfast. It had beer & wine only & offered only a few appetizers. Did not open until 6:00 pm. Upon checkin we immediately felt we were disturbing “Angie” at the desk but she did say hello & took our info. She mentioned that there would be a $25 charge on our cr cd & if we didn't leave without paying for something we'd get it back! Huh? I hate this policy & have run across it only 3 times out of over a hundred hotel stays. It says to me that they don't trust us even tho we are BW Gold Members & Silver Members of Hotels.com. They have had possession of our cr cd for over a month. So when we expressed distaste for this Angie unhappily stated that every hotel does this. We corrected her but she argued that she had been there 15 yrs & we were wrong! Obviously she hasn't used many other hotels. When I asked where we would even spend $25 she said long distance phone calls! Again, huh? We later found out she neglected to tell us about the Managers Reception from 6 to 7. Didn't really matter because you had to get tickets at front desk & were allowed 1 free drink & 1 appetizer ea. So on top of not being able to get anything to eat until at least 6:15, only appetizers were available. The room was very nice, clean & quiet. Phil the shuttle driver in the aft was really friendly (made up for cranky Angie) & morning driver (Jan 22) was also really nice. We were unable to try breakfast as we had to leave early. Again poor service on Angie's part because we told her this upon checkin but she neglected to tell us there were buns & coffee. (Found out too late from other guests). Would definitely pass on this one.

"Great Hotel with terrible manure odor"

bill0603, Calif 22/01/2020

This is a nice hotel with a good staff and a great breakfast BUT it has a manure smell in the evening which is really terrible. Note, the smell is not in the rooms but the outside area. Once indoors, you are safe from the smell. There is am nearby and they clearly fertilize the field with manure.

"Great place to stay. Easy to find"

Teresa R, Clovis, New Mexico, United States 14/01/2020

Love the location as it was near to everything I had on my to do list. A bit of agricultural smell but we live in dairy country so no problem there. Loved the breakfast and the nightly get togethers. Only problem was Kim at the front desk on Saturday and Sunday morning (Jan. 11 and 12). She was about as helpful as a rock! She had the attitude of "not my job so I won't even try to help". She barely took her eyes off of her computer screen to acknowledge me. Plenty of other friendly people offered assistance and went out of their way to help.

"Best Western Rocks!"

tucsrivera, Tucson, Arizona 02/01/2020

Great place to stay. Wish it had been in the summer so we could use the pool. Breakfast here is great. Normally we are here to visit with daughter and family and having breakfast here is a plus! No need to stop anywhere to eat breakfast. Rooms are very, very comfortable, extremely clean and single serving of coffee is provided in the rooms for those who require a cup of Joe upon waking up.

"Great experience"

User 01/01/2020

We were the for the Christmas holidays. The overall experience was great. The room we stayed in was pretty good. The only problem was that one of the electrical outlets did not work. The carpet was probably could use replacing in the room. The housekeeping for our room was not bad, but could have been better.

"Oh that smell"

thecabindoor, Bigfork, Montana 25/12/2019

Unfortunately, the smell from a local dairy farm was quite overpowering! The hotel looks very new and there are no streetlights out front. Super dark entrances Unfortunately the GPS just told us to make a sharp left turn. Made the turn and hit a small curb out front. Once parked I spent the next 30 minutes changing the flat tire damaged by the curb. Poor location, poor entrance, poor lighting and zero food in vending machines WTF

"Flight layover"

R L J, Belle, Mo 24/12/2019

This motel is very close to the Phoenix/Mesa airport. Easy to get to the airport. The staff is friendly, rates were good and it has a good breakfast. We always stay here when flying in of out of Phoenix. I would recommend this motel.

"Horrible Experience...Run!"

User 18/12/2019

I had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights both for (2 Queen Beds). We checked in on Friday and then attended a funeral service that Saturday. We returned to our room that Saturday night and the hotel room key was not working. We assumed the key card was somehow deactivated while in my purse. We went down to front desk and asked them to reactivate our key, we then come back to our room to find another guest in the room. Mind you a gentleman guest in the room of what was mine (i am female) and my 12 year old niece's room. We go back to front desk and they claim that we were checked out by housekeeping which is insane bceause we slept in the beds and used the towels and soaps in the bathroom. They then booked us in a different room ( a single King Bed bceause they did not have any 2 Queen Beds available). We go to the room and I realize that they let us keep the reactivated keys for the old room. Which leads me to believe that they dont care about security and safety of their guests. Also the area stunk of cow manure and all the rooms smelled like it too

"Very helpful"

Arlene H, Westville 13/12/2019

We did use the airport shuttle and the driver was prompt. The gentleman that checked us in did an excellent job. We did decide to get a car rental since we were staying for four days. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful because she shuttled us back to the airport and waited until our rental was complete. Great Job! The breakfast was great each morning and we did take advantage of the manager's meal in the evening. The housekeeping was a little sloppy but we always had plenty of fresh clean towels (toiletries only given once). We slept well on the comfortable beds. We did occasionally smell the local farm odor but it wasn't too bad. We did have an unpleasant encounter with the young man taking care of the breakfast area. When we came down to eat the t.v. had a program on it that we were listening to. The employee turned the volume down and my husband could no longer hear it so he moved closer to the t.v. He got up to go back to the breakfast bar and the young man turned down the t.v. again. My husband went back and now couldn't hear it. He asked the man if he had turned it down and when he replied that he had, my husband made him turn the volume up again. The area shuttle was available to take us anywhere in the 5 mile radius. There were two malls with theaters, Walmart, Target etc. We did appreciate the use their business center. All in all it was a nice stay at a reasonable rate.

"Exceeded my expectations!"

The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive from the front desk, shuttle drivers and housekeeping. Very pleased with the attention to details and the effort to make my stay as smooth as possible.

"Don't stay at BW Legacy"

User 15/11/2019

Free Dinner was canceled, breakfast was missing key components and not as pictured on there site. No milk, yogurt or dairy products for the early breakfast, no to go breakfast as promised for our early departure. It is near the airport, shuttle was good, took 2 of us multiple phone calls to get the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. 20 minute delay in reaching them. It does smell like you are in a cow barn through the venilation.

"Medical trip"

Being treated @ MDAnderson cancer center and this is the closest and most reasonably priced place to stay that does not allow animals. I am allergic to cats n dogs. We had a nice stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was great

"Best Stay Ever"

Heather R, Mesa 28/10/2019

What a wonderful hotel experience from start to finish. Excellent customer service! Very nice room and comfortable bed. Shuttle service was very nice, never had such great service experience as this stay. Breakfast opened earlier than most hotels with a cold option avail at 4am which was perfect for our early morning hike. Then we had a hot breakfast when we came back. Everything was fabulous from start to finish. I couldn't think of any improvement needed.

"Excellent happy hour"

jejk70, Central Arizona, Arizona 21/10/2019

We stayed here because we had an early flight out of Williams gateway. There was a complimentary happy hour drink and snacks. Even though we left early the next morning a Grab and Go breakfast was provided. We were able to leave our car for a nominal fee. We slept well on a comfortable mattress. Overall it was a pleasan t stay.

"My Legacy Stay"

Angel F, gilbert, United States 14/10/2019

Overall accommodations were great. Staff was friendly and rooms were kept clean. Staff wasn't too familiar about points for my stays and how many I could use. Bar area was nice to sit and relax for business with clients.

"Bes western Gilbert az"

patrickoP986IM, Gilbert, United States 09/10/2019

We had a nice stay and everyone we saw were in good spirits. Thay had a baseball tournament on the weekend and took care of everybody we saw with care. We stayed because our house was full of family and we wanted to be the ones that got away.

"Great place to stay"

User 06/10/2019

This is the best place to stay if you have to fly out of the Mesa Gateway airport. clean rooms, friendly staff and a free breakfast with hot coffee. just fantastic! the staff here are so nice and very helpful.

"Outstanding Hotel"

Lucoop61, Vermilion, Ohio 05/09/2019

The hotel was in a good location, not far from major highways. It was very clean as well as the rooms. The price was good. The pool was kept clean every day. There was a variety of food selection for breakfast (eggs-plain/with ham, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, muffin, bagels, toast, waffles, yogurt, Danish). The staff was friendly and helpful. Every night there was a hotel pass for either a beer or a glass of wine with a light dinner such as chili with cornbread one night, spaghetti with garlic bread another night.

"This was very conveniently located by my son's house"

Kimpia, Prescott Valley, Arizona 29/08/2019

My son planned a surprise birthday party for my Hubby. It was a short drive to visit and return after the party was over. It is a comfortable place and was quiet. The front desk was wonderful and warm and welcoming. We did not partake of the food and drink social hour so cannot speak to that. Very reasonably priced. We are used to a full kitchen, so we missed that. If you aren't a cook when you travel then this is not an issue. I did not report two issues: a broken shade on a lamp and the handle on the tub was very hard to turn and water wasn't as hot as I like; nor was the pressure as strong as I prefer. So jump in the pool instead, eh? We didn't swim either. Free parking is always nice. I wondered why they didn't recycle? It seems like such a missed opportunity.

"Clean, organized and great staff"

Caronbemis, Tucson, Arizona 12/08/2019

I highly recommend this for any kind of trip. Our stay was only 1 night but I will be back soon to hang out with the family. Love this place! All the amenities of a luxury resort and its fair priced. Everyone on the staff is nice and helpful. They all have a dedication to their job.

"Nice for a quick trip"

User 07/08/2019

This hotel was comfortable, quiet and the staff was pleasant. I'm doing a slight markdown because the quality of food and drinks was average. But let's face it, you don't go to this kind of hotel for eating.

"Best Hotel"

We stayed here because of its proximity to the Mesa Gateway airport. About 2 miles from it. Found the hotel to be very comfortable and quiet. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. There is an outdoor pool and nice business center.

The hotel was nice, the staff was very friendly. We had a problem getting our room cleaned and when they did clean, it was not up to the standard that it should have been. The breakfast was not as good as other hotels where we have stayed.

I was very disillusioned on how a guest treated the front desk staff. We were upstairs and heard a guest yelling at the woman at the front desk that she had no control over it wasn't her fault the elevator broke down. I have to commend her on how she handled the situation. She did finally ask them to leave the desk they walked away and they came back and started with her again. She held her ground even after they threatened her with her job and a slew of other things. She again calmly asked them to leave the desk she was frustrated but held her composure. She walked away from the desk until they left. We ran into them once they came upstairs and they told my wife and I that they were going to have her job she would be fired by morning. I sincerely hope that she is not fired she did not deserve to spoken too the way she was. She was doing what she could which wasn't much given the situation of you were full. I do have to say one thing about the cold breakfast we enjoyed it and wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the hot breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your most recent stay and for your compassion for our front desk team member when you overheard an uncomfortable confrontation with another guest. Occassionally, there is a situation beyond our control but we do understand the guests frustration and wish we could do more to remedy it. Please be assured that we did not fire our associate. Thank you again and have a wonderful day!

Quality control of the hotel. Exterior of property cleanliness, poor security on entry doors where rugs where placed to keep doors open, front of hotel very in need of power washing, and guest walking in from pool in wet swim wear making floor slippery to other guest.

If you are flying out of Gateway in Mesa, this is a great place to spend the night. Very nice accomodations and a shuttle to the airport every 30 minutes starting at 4am. Nice happy hour. Only thing that would help is if they had a full service restaurant. Dinner is either the happy hour selection or a short walk to a BBQ place.

"Lots of problems"

VANESSA M, Missoula, Montana 06/05/2019

The rooms were not clean, there were two sockets in the bathroom that didn't work, however they did get fixed. The TV remote had to be re-set, and then the second day there, our key quit working and we had to move to a different room.

"Bizarre check in, and unlocked back door, but great hotel."

406family, Bozeman, Montana 24/04/2019

A great hotel that is perfect for staying before or after departure or arrival into Mesa airport on Allegiant. Comfortable, fairly quiet and very clean. However, I arrived at 4am due to airline issues (ugh) and it took the night attendant almost ten minutes to appear at the desk. I called out numerous times, hit the ring button on the desk, phoned the hotel (no answer) and almost walked into the back. Don't know if the clerk was sleeping or in the restroom, but it was awkward when she finally appeared. Additionally, the back door to the hotel from the pool was open, not requiring a key, and there were three men who came strolling into the lobby from that area as I was checking in, then ended up on my floor as I was entering my room. Uncomfortable.

Are stay here was very good. It was easy to find. The rooms were clean, the stag was very friendly. It was very easy to get to Phoenix/Mesa airport. About a seven minute drive. We wil stay here whenever we come through Phoenix

"Family visit"

Torres2240, Lincoln City, Oregon 22/04/2019

Stayed at Best Western our first night in Arizona. Our room was huge, the bed was not super comfortable but it was ok. The hotel was out away from everything, strange location. There is a mini mart across the street.

"Excellent hotel near mesa Gateway Airport"

dave82801, Sheridan Wy 20/04/2019

We chose this hotel because it was near the airport and we had an early flight. The front desk agent, Madison, was helpful and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the pool was great with the hot desert heat.

"Highly recommend"

User 09/04/2019

The best hotel experience! The desk clerk was amazing..warm, welcoming, explained hotel layout, lite supper offering, breakfast options which included "cold" item at 4 a.m. Then my room was upgraded! My room was on so quiet..which was great as I was on the front, near a 5 lane road. I look forward to my staying here on my next visit. Thanks

"Cleaning staff needed."

User 07/04/2019

Our room obviously had not received a good cleaning in quite some time. Hair in the tub, dried toothpaste in the sink and on the fixtures, thick dust and trash between the bed and nightstand. Very sub- standard room. We helped clean the room so we could get to bed at a decent time. The desk staff didn't follow through on what they said. When we checked out, they were going to let us walk out without addressing the problem. I had to press the issue to get them to acknowledge it.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review

"Great place to stay"

mom2mandj, Salem, Oregon 04/04/2019

We stayed here several nights during our spring break in Arizona. We left to visit the Grand Canyon so we had 2 different rooms in this hotel. Our first room was a King suite with 1 King bed and a pullout sofa. Our second room was a Queen suite with 2 Queen beds and a pullout sofa. Both rooms were very spacious and comfortable for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. The King suite was on the NE corner of the building and a little noisy at times from the Power Rd. traffic. The Queen suite overlooked the pool and was even noisier from people hanging out at the pool. I was even awoken during the night by conversations...not sure if the pool hours were being enforced or not. The breakfast area was spacious and there was a good variety, although the offerings were the same each day. During the first part of our stay, there was no treadmill in the fitness center so my son had to run down Ray Rd. (a couple of blocks south of the hotel). This did prove to be a safe option as the street has a good sidewalk. The hotel is in close proximity to a variety of restaurants and stores. I'd recommend booking your stay far in advance if you're coming during spring break/spring training (baseball) season. The hotel was very full and we were unable to get our first choice of rooms, despite booking nearly 5 months in advance. Our only criticism of this hotel is that while the rooms were clean, it appears they neglect the stairwell. The stairwell carpets needed to be vacuumed and there was a beer can that remained in the same spot from the day we arrived until we checked out 4 days later.

"Overnight Stop"

EasternWA_Pirate, Moses Lake, Washington 03/04/2019

Needing a place to stay while checking out potential employment, I really had no idea where everything was. Seeing this Best Western I took a gamble on room availability and location. I seemed to do well on both accounts. Considering some of the rooms we had stayed in during the past few nights, this was heavenly. The bathroom was clean, towels plenty, bed in good order. We were told there'd be a light dinner in the evening with complimentary beer/wine/mixed drink. When we went out to it we were told tickets were required and were supposed to have been given during check in. That didn't happen. Other than that, we were quite happy with the hotel, staff and location.

"Great place to stay in Mesa"

926christianw, Los Angeles, California 28/03/2019

We went for spring training games, and glad we picked this facility. The staff was great. The lounge was friendly. The breakfast the next morning was filling and plentiful. There was a youth baseball team staying there, and you couldn't tell where they were the facility was so quiet.

"Horrible stay"

Redsherrie, Prescott Valley, Arizona 19/03/2019

Only 2 luggage carts available. One was full of an Amazon order and maintenance was using the other one for moving a treadmill for 3 hours Sunday morning when everyone was checking out! Front desk folks were rude about it and offered no solution! Employees boyfriends hanging out in lobby making it uncomfortable for guests to sit down while waiting for carts that never came available! I will never stay there again and for the money they charge, it is absolutely not worth it!!

"Poor customer service"

Voyager14540800400, Prescott, Arizona 18/03/2019

The staff were rude and impatient. They acted like they had something else they needed to be doing. The hotel was noisy the first night with people loudly coming and going until 2:30 AM, but better the second and third nights. The rooms are large, but it would have been nicer if they had some more furniture in them..

"Great Value, close to Airport"

User 13/03/2019

Very nice hotel. Clean. Offers cold breakfast bar option for early departures (starting at 4 am). Nice complimentary drinks at the mini lounge. We were offered complimentary drink tickets due to a delayed check-in. Staff was very accommodating .

"Family Fun"

Doreen O, Kingman, United States 13/03/2019

Luxurious, spacious, affordable. I took my college children for a fun and special weekend. We had LOTS of room and space with all 6 of us in the same room. Beds were comfortable, and tub was big! We really enjoyed the nightly dinner/snack. We don't find suites often, this was a great pleasure!!

"Great value!"

V9586KLsaras, Bozeman, Montana 11/03/2019

Their airport shuttle was important as we did not rent a car and were there to do some planning. We were able to walk to a number of restaurants (we like to walk), but their shuttle service would have taken us there. The room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast was better than most. On top of that, they provide a complementary simple, light dinner that was tasty and definitely beyond the call of duty. Quite satisfied.

"Close to Airport"

13jmarie, Hawaiian Gardens, California 10/03/2019

We selected this motel because it was minutes from the airport and within our price range. They have a shuttle to the airport. We had a rental car and there was adequate parking by several doors to inside the motel . Front desk was helpful, we had appetizers in the lounge one evening which were good. They also offer a light supper from 5-7 ( hamburgers when we were there) . pool/hot tub area was small but nice. Breakfast had a good variety, but room was small to hold all persons eating, many took it back to their room. There is a smell of livestock/barns but motel was good to explain there is a family dairy farm in the area ( there before the motel was built )and occasionally the smell will be outside the motel. Appreciated their printed explanation on this and also information that tours are offered at the dairy farm which would be interesting to those who don't have experience with the dairy industry. They did offer longer hours on breakfast which was appreciate. Close to shipping and many dining places. We would stay here again.

"Nothing works"

Roving12175649637, Tucson, Arizona 09/03/2019

Maintenance issues all around. tv remote did not work, staff did not have a clue. smoke detector inop. finally removed myself to stop chirping, again staff had no batteries and no clue. Noise is bad here. You can hear next room ac units running, water draining. Old carpet, tripping hazard. Stay somewhere else. Do not ask for wake up call, It did not happen.

They said we could use there conference room or there lounge but no we couldn't. There reservations were all screwed up. Afterwards I had 5 rooms on my credit card which I put 10 on hold. Did not get my room cleaned until my last day of my stay. The staff behind the counter were not very knowledgeable not very happy with the stay

Had to wait for are room to be cleaned before we could get in and unpack and relax. food was ok. The person above us was noisy. The gym had no treadmill and very small. Plus side the pool was heated and clean

"Nice plaxe, good location"

edjenson, Algona, Iowa, United States 26/02/2019

Spent three nights in this hotel while in Mesa area for a family wedding. Check in was quick and easy even at midnight after arriving late from a delayed flight. Clean comfortable spacious rooms with a king bed. Only issue the bed was hard and I woke up each morning with an aching back, but not too big of a deal really. Breakfast had plenty of hot and cold choices for all tastes. We enjoyed the hot tub outdoors each night, unlike many hotels the hot tub was actually clean and really hot! They do offer a light evening meal for guests which is convenient but we had other places to be so did not get the chance to partake. Reasonable distance from wedding venue in Queen Creek and from shopping, tourist attractions and both airports. Front desk staff was always friend and helpful

"Pulling one over"

BRCruiser, Canada 24/02/2019

We reserved a king room but we are also diamond select members. We arrived at around 8:30 pm and needed to get to a restaurant we wanted to go to right away. The clerk put us in a queen room on the second floor which I saw as soon as I opened the door. I went back to him and reminded him that not only did I reserve a king room but I am entitled to an immediate upgrade. It took him 10 of my precious minutes to get moved to a room. I had to go and get my husband and luggage who was on the second floor to move to a room we could have had on the main floor right off the bat. The room was ok but dated. We only stayed one night. Clerk needs some training clearly.

"Near airport, clean & roomy"

fabfemale40, Phoenix, Arizona 21/02/2019

I highly recommend this hotel and enjoy staying here each time I have a flight out of Mesa. The rooms are so big and even have a desk, comfy office chair and a kitchenette with mini frig. The free hot breakfast in the mornings are an added convenience. Eggs, sausage, hot biscuits, plus plenty of cold items like yogurt, bagels, pastries. The rooms and hallways are clean and it's always quiet. The parking lot is well lit and it's close to many restaurants and stores.

"Clean, enjoyable stay"

User 20/02/2019

Very nice looking place, very clean and great helpful staff that made you feel important. Used the shuttle services to the Mesa airport and they were on time and helpful with bags. Did not have time to enjoy the pool but looked very nice. Had the breakfast in the morning and it was satisfying, there were supper coupons but we were not around for dinner- would like to try in the future, seems like a food deal.

"Better this time"

joeboo16, Phoenix, Arizona 20/02/2019

We decided to give this hotel another try. When we checked in, we were told we could have a late checkout - early the next morning the manager called to say they could not. It was a new employee- who was friendly and great to deal with - could not make that decision. We had to stay on that side of town for another night so we decided to stay there for same rate- wished the manager offered compensation for mishap. But-Was happy they could keep us in same room :) The problems I had on first visit were resolved. Got directions on how to make fan run all night - loved that! Seems that they added a bar since last visit which was nice. Bed - comfortable and housekeeping was great. Breakfast was basic but fed the hungry boys ;).

"Poor housekeeping"

User 13/02/2019

Housekeeping was a big disappointment. Sheets were not changed in three days, sometimes beds were unmade, coffee pot was not cleaned, floor not vacuumed, replacement towels were untidy. Condition remained after calling attention to the problem. Having stayed here two times in the past, will not be back.

"never stay again"

User 26/01/2019

room 111 bathroom smelled horrible and something was running in the next room that sounded like a air compressor and turned on and off all night nice big room but other than that i would say bad place to stay

"Suites our very nice"

User 24/01/2019

We checked in late Sunday night and was upgraded to the king suite, the room was very nice with a sofa bed - an added bonus. Early Breakfast at 4am was nice since we had a early flight out and was able to us their shuttle to catch our flight. Great Staff , Friendly and always smiling.

"This place was great."

User 23/01/2019

Stacie the manager is wonderful and her staff are very helpful and the free breakfast and dinner are great. They have a shuttle the will take you to the airport at 4am, so we had dinner breakfast and was able to catch our flight at 630am. Awesome hotel and great friendly staff.

"Manager Stacie is Deceptive"

User 23/01/2019

Do not pay for a suite as all u pay extra for is a roll out sofa bed. To give you her corner suite is only at her discretion. Because this review must be at least 200 words. If you need a place to stay ok but the manager and front desk do not want to talk or hear from you or about issues and concerns. They do the minimum and thats it. Not a family welcoming staff.

Resort27404593342, Park Rapids, Minnesota 20/01/2019

Great hot breakfast clean rooms polite staff would stay again. The free light dinner was unexpected. Shuttle to airport went off very smooth. Best location and close to airport. Overall had a great experience thanks again to all the staff.

"Many problems"

User 18/01/2019

Legacy is ready for refurbishment, but that is not an excuse for not keeping things clean. Entering our room, it was obviously that the linen was not clean and the chair at the desk was broken. Breakfast was poor and service in reception was really bad (with few exceptions). Best thing was the heated pool and our room was quite big. The free lite dinner was not great but considering it was free it is hard to complain about that.

"She couldnt open a window"

User 17/01/2019

Getting a reservation was easy checking in was easy as well. Unfortunately due to the location the hotel has an very unplesant smell which there are postings to immediately explain the odor. The driver that picked us up at the airport was very professional and the young lady at check in was pleasant as well. Check out was a completely different experience. The 5am shuttle driver was the same person to check us out. Not only did she not help any of the guest with their luggage but she asked one of the passengers to close the door for her after we were all aboard. The kicker after a mediocore night in a smelly room the shuttle driver coughed several times in a closed shuttle with the windows closed & refused to open her window when asked & stated "its too cold' AND SHE GENUIALLY SEEMED OFFENDED!

"Closest hotel to Mesa Gateway airport"

Donna B, Saint Louis, Missouri 15/01/2019

Stayed here 2 nights. Recently renovated with clean and spacious rooms. They offer dinner and a drink each evening which was a nice option. Good variety at the breakfast buffet. There is a card referencing the smell. It is 3 miles from a dairy farm and you can occasionally smell it. It wasn't that big of a deal for us. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is not too far from Phoenix or Scottsdale and it took us about 30 minutes to go to Old Town. Several restaurants are in close proximity.

"Filthy on so many levels"

Tracey G, Chino Vally, United States 14/01/2019

Dirty dirty room, hair in the beds, stains all over the bed spreads, stains on the chair and foot stool like someone used way to much love lube, grime all over the walls, dust bunnies on every ledge, sticky floors, cig butts all over the pool deck, staff smoking everywhere including right next the doors. Lied to by the staff (sammy was her name) when asked for the sheets to be changed, breakfast meats were cold and a health code violation. Filthy, gross place, stay clear especially room 109. Will never stay there again...ever.

"Lots of problems"

545wandae, Safford, Arizona 30/12/2018

Where do I begin...we got to our room, the TV didn't work, and there was blood on the sheets. Housekeeping came and fixed both for us, but in order to use the TV we had to stand right in front of the TV a few inches away to get it to work. In order to plug in my chargers, we had to unplug the lamps by the bed because the open plugs next to the bed did not work. The night was so LONG! The air conditioning/heating unit clicked on and off all night and it was SO loud. Not only did we hear ours, but we could here the room next to us. The bed was rock hard; so those two things gave us a very long restless night. As I got up, I dropped socks on the floor, so I leaned down to get them and saw old food on the floor under the desk. That grossed me out! The bathroom was freezing cold, the exhaust fan is covered with so much dust it didn't work, and the knob for water in the tub felt like it was going to pop off in my hand. We were told at the front desk during check-in that the hot breakfast would be ready by 6:30, we went in at 6:50 and it wasn't ready. We are on a tight schedule, so we went back to our room to pack up while we waited for breakfast. Overall-this was on our top 10 worst hotel experiences. The only good thing are the friendly staff. I feel bad leaving a bad review, but it's all true.

"Excellent Customer Service"

User 26/12/2018

The desk clerk Kelly was excellent in providing personal one on one help in getting me in a room. When I had a challenge with Booking.com she worked with me in making sure that I was able to get in a room.

"Make a Better Choice"

Teebird104, San Diego 22/12/2018

I should have listened to the negative reviews. On check in the desk clerk did not acknowledge me but I had to initiate the conversation even though I'm also a Best Western Rewards Member. Upon arriving into our room we noticed a foul odor. We opened the fridge and there was old milk in it but that wasn't the smell. Went into the bathroom and it became worse. Looked in the trash and there were very old coffee filters in the trash can. Also, the housekeeper just threw several bottles of shampoo onto the sink. Never saw anything like it in any hotel I've stayed in before. I called down to the desk, and of course I get Miss Friendly. I tell her about the odor and she tells me it's coming from the fields across the way. I tell her I'm holding the bag containing the odor and asked her what does she want me to do with it. She offers no assistance instead she made me feel like I was lying so instead of her sending housekeeping to me I end up bringing the bag downstairs to her. No apology, no nothing from her. Next day we enter our room and our A/C unit had the front fall off. I could tell that it had been broken in the past and they tried to fix it with tape. Called down and they wanted me to try to place it back on and I told them no, they need to send someone up. The next day I asked to speak with a manager but apparently she was unavailable. A different desk clerk said she would pass on the message and that she was sure something would be done. Upon check out I received a TOTAL of a $7 discount for the 3 nights I was there and no contact by management. When I got home I realized I left my portable charger in the room. I called the front desk who said they will check with housekeeping and call me right back...that was several days ago...no call. Received the survey from Best Western which I replied to giving a one star and I get an email from the hotel manager apologizing and hopes I will return...no mention of my charger, no discount applied to my credit card or extra rewards points to my account...seems to me customer training is in order from the top down. Next time I will stay at another hotel. This one does not live up to the Best Western brand.

"Great location to stay"

User 01/12/2018

This location is easy to get to the Mesa-Gateway airport. I experienced excellent customer service. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was clean with several choices. I would stay here again!

"Clean friendly convenient"

Kitty K, North Dakota 22/11/2018

Easy to find, friendly staff. I liked the fact I can leave my car there while.travel and utilize their free airport shuttle. The small complimentary evening meal they provide is very nice, aand had a cold breakfast ready at 3:45 a.m. ! For us early travelers!

"Mesa stay"

R L J, Belle, Mo 20/11/2018

Very nice motel with easy getting to and from the meas airport. the do serve an evening meal and a morning breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The motel was very clean. I would recommend this motel when flying into Phoenix/Mesa.

"Relaxing "

User 17/11/2018

We stayed at the Best Western Legacy Inn in Mesa for 5 nights, the rooms are clean and fresh, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, we enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub as well as their complimentary breakfast and dinner social. We would recommend this place for every occasion.

"very late check in"

Lori H, Bozeman, Montana, United States 07/11/2018

positives: near Mesa/Gateway airport, easy to get to very comfortable room with fridge and coffee maker adequate breakfast Negatives: I requested late checkout and do not disturb, yet the front desk called me to welcome me at 8am No dog allowed

"Room was not cleaned"

michellesB4509FF, Pleasant View, United States 06/11/2018

Our room was dirty upon arrival. We mentioned this to the front desk, they were less than enthusiastic to correct it, but did send someone to clean it. However, the person cleaning the room, cleaned out our fridge of several drinks, waters, and treats. When we complained, they brought some of them back. In all fairness, we have stayed here multiple times and this is the first time something like this has happened. Although, it was a negative enough experience that I don't think I can stay here again. I will take my business elsewhere.

"Stayed at much better Best Westerns"

User 29/10/2018

Not very impressed with this Best Western location. We have stayed at many numerous Best Westerns around the southwest. This is why we chose to stay here since it was close to the things we were there for. The front desk clerk acted as if I had interrupted her on something that night at check in and wasn't very friendly. The room was not as clean as you would expect to be. There was food debris left on the floor underneath the bed that was very visible. There was stuff that was not vacuumed up. The hallways also had debris and stuff left on the floor that could have been cleaned up. Not impressed with the cleanliness. The breakfast on a Sunday was a little ridiculous as far as having to wait for hot breakfast food on a Sunday morning at 8:30 when the breakfast ended at 10:00. Many guests were waiting for the hot breakfast foods for over 15 minutes. When staff was asked about having more brought out, they rudely answered that they were working on it and seemed as if we were an inconvenience for them to do their job. I like the Best Western hotels but this one is one I would not be back to nor would I recommend it.

"Great for price "

joeboo16, Phoenix, Arizona 21/10/2018

Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Pull-out mattress was about 2 inches thick. Room was priced right - paid about $110. Staff was friendly. Don't choose a north facing room Reasons 4 and not 5 stars: 1. Windows not high quality. Room faces Warner and heard traffic all throughout night. Air conditioner fan could did not run constantly to drown out noise. 2. Staff stated we could have a late checkout at 12 pm yet housekeeping was pounding on the door at 11:10. Poor communication amongst staff.

babyknewport, newport beach 14/10/2018

We just arrived home from a soccer trip to Arizona. I woke my son up this morning at 6am - He got up and I turned the light on next to his bed and on his pillow was a bed bug. I shrieked and my husband came over and squished it. My husband then went down to the front desk and told the man at the desk, and then 30 min later, the woman at the front desk what we had found. They did not believe him, and in fact, there was a vague attempt to insinuate he was trying to con them to get a free room. SO he came back upstairs and grabbed the bloody white towel he used to kill the bug,and remains of the smashed bed bug and brought them downstairs. They still did not believe it had come from our room and said their manager would call us today. We never heard from the manager. We paid for the room and are completely disgusted. I have approximately 9 bites on my ankle and have just spent the past several hours washing and drying on high heat all of our belongings. luggage is bagged and outside. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is sub par and I would never stay here again. Paper thin walls. Could hear EVERYTHING. Oh, and the gal at the desk said "well, we have had bed bugs in the past...."

"Great place"

Leeanne M, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 09/10/2018

We have stayed here several times. It is always clean and the staff is wonderful. They have a happy hour and a meal. Always nice. It is close to several restaurants also. This hotel is close to Mesa Gareway and the 202!

"Great staff, a few bumps"

tpmfoodie, Winter Springs, FL 08/09/2018

Without exception, all of the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. We had a bit of a problem with an accessible room assignment, but when we settled in, the room was clean and spacious. We had a 2 year old with us for a couple of nights while his mother was hospitalized, and he was welcomed. The breakfast room was clean and well stocked every morning. A modest dinner and a drink could be had at no additional charge simply by asking for tickets at the desk. Fresh baked cookies were offered at the desk in the early evening, first come first served. Rooms were made up every day, although sometimes not until mid afternoon, and sometimes not vacuumed. The Legacy is a non-smoking hotel, but when we returned after a day out, our room smelled strongly of tobacco smoke. At the desk, we were told that it could have been from someone smoking right outside our room. It did not happen again during our nearly two week stay. Two mornings, I wished the shower water was a little hotter. The TV quit working but was fixed immediately. I have mobility problems, and appreciated the roll in shower and the hair drier mounted low enough to be reach while seated. We were not able to print our boarding passes with the hotel's renter. We did not use the shuttle or the pool.

"Great Value, Nice Hotel"

Susan P, Spearfish, South Dakota, United States 07/09/2018

We had a late night flight arrive at Mesa Gateway Airport and choose this hotel to stahy the night. Be aware their shuttle stops at midnight, so if you flight is delayed as our's was you can take lyft or a taxi...only about a $5.00 fare. The hotel looks brand new though I was told it was several years old. Clean, fresh and very nice. The staff was friendly.

"Beware of poor security/housekeeping issues and poor management."

BS T, Murrieta, California 05/09/2018

We discovered a pair of soiled men's underwear in the bathroom a few hours after checking in. (Don't think they were there earlier). We were advised by hotel staff that our room door sometimes didn't lock properly. A different set of keys was made and we were assured no one would have access to the room, which quieted our fears somewhat. The kids were asleep, so we decided to stay and address with management later. The following morning, a man pushed open the door and entered our room carrying his breakfast. We believe the room was possibly being used by guests who knew the door didn't lock properly. In addition, we couldn't get the TV/remote to work even after replacing remote batteries. The room had a distinct smell of urine, as well. At the very least, housekeeping was severely lacking. Front desk claimed they could make no other arrangements for us, but would report to management. It has been four days since the incident, and we still have had no contact with the hotel management. Best Western corporate has been in contact after a complaint was filed there, but they claim they cannot issue a refund and referred us again to the manager of this property. Still waiting....

"Great place to stay"

rj1030, Cameron Park, California 29/08/2018

This is located right on Power Road off the freeway so there is easy access to many places in Gilbert or Mesa. Many places to eat around the hotel, places to shop and two movie theaters either 4 miles or 7 miles away. The breakfast is very good.

"Great Hotel"

User 24/08/2018

The room was large, breakfast and dinner were great and complimentary with a free drink. The rooms were clean, as was the pool. The employees were all friendly, and happy to answer all questions. I will stay at this hotel again.

"Great visit "

User 19/08/2018

We stayed here for 4 nights while our home was remolded from flooding and it was great . Super affordable , breakfast was great , clean quiet room , housekeepers were super friendly and did a great job ! Every bit of checking in to checking out and daily life in between was wonderful ! Housekeepers "got it " , saw I had a clan of kids and always left extra towels ( daily swimming in the cold wonderful pool and showers for 6 people) extra cups , didn't "super clean " our room , I mean with 5 kids ...they appropriately and perfectly did what was needed . Even on the weekend it wasn't loud , we were able to have our sleep schedule and sleep from 8p to 7am without disturbance. Highly recommend it and will to all incoming friends and family . Thank you !

"Dated, but pretty good and has airport shuttle."

Adam_Washington, Peoria, Illinois 31/07/2018

Best Western Legacy, Mesa, AZ The "legacy" in this hotel's name may mean old and outdated; perhaps it is, just a little, but it has redeeming qualities. My room was a corner room on the second floor and it was huge -- much bigger than I needed, but your mileage may vary. The quantity of furniture was very good, but the quality was a bit downscale; still, with exceptions noted below, everything was serviceable. The bed was comfortable. The room and bath, with minor exceptions noted below, were clean. One of the main reasons I choose this hotel is that it is near to and provides free shuttle service to the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport. That service was excellent and for me, without a car my last night in town, made up for the minor deficiencies I mention below. Also convenient for me, lacking a car, the Gilbert Gateway Towne Center shopping center is within walking distance (about 0.8 miles; I do a lot of walking). This shopping center has a Starbucks and several restaurants. I recommend the Sweet Tomatoes restaurant located here. I have no complaints about the included ("free") breakfast. I stayed in five hotels on this trip, and the breakfast here ranked 4th best of the 5. Still, it was very good, and it won my heart by providing walnut halves and pieces as a topping for oatmeal and dry cereal. Overall, I recommend this hotel. I'm going to mention several flaws below, but for me, the advantages I've described above outweigh the flaws. I give the hotel 3.9 points on a 5-point scale. Okay, here are my complaints, roughly ranked from most to least significant to me. 1. I tried to use the guest "Business Center" (two desktop computers and two printers) to print my flight boarding pass but failed on my first effort because the printer was out of toner and would not even attempt to print a page. No "out of service" notice was posted. I tried to select the second printer in the room from my computer but it was not networked with that computer. The next morning, I consulted the desk staff; they were aware of the problem and advised me to use the second computer; it was connected to the second printer, and I was able to print the boarding pass. (That second computer was dreadfully slow.) 2. When I checked in the desk clerk was not particularly friendly and left me waiting for a few minutes while he gave instructions to another employee about picking up customers at the airport. He did excuse himself by saying, “Be with you in a minute buddy." (The desk staff I met the next morning were more friendly and helpful.) 3. There was "air freshener" odor in the room when I arrived. I quote air freshener because I believe that if I can smell air freshener, the air is not really fresh. The air freshener scent itself is unpleasant and perhaps it is masking other, more repellant, odors. I have a mild allergy to chemical odors, but luckily for me, the room had a large, operational window which I opened for fresh air until the odor dissipated. 4. The interior of the microwave oven emitted the stale odor of cooked food and was not perfectly clean. 5. The Hamilton Beach, single-cup coffee maker has a reusable basket. The unit looks old, and the basket is not as pristine as I would like. At best it had water spots and mineral accumulation on it. 6. Only one small bar of soap is provided, to be shared between the lavatory and the tub/shower. 7. The room carpet is somewhat worn and the color and pattern make it look dingy, even if it is clean. 8. The in-room guest directory consisted of a single sheet, printed on both sides. There was no listing of TV channels. 9. There is a wall-mounted control for the air conditioner/heater, but it must be a relic of better times. It has been dismantled and the actual controls are on the AC/heater unit itself.

"Best Western Legacy Stay"

MarkBAvionics, Nanaimo, Canada 18/07/2018

The staff here are great. I spent alot of time here this year, and all the great staff made my stay alot of fun. Free breakfast and dinner when you want plus a couple of drinks. All good! The hotel was very accommodating to our company's needs.

"wonderful stay"

Mary C, Sedona, Az 06/07/2018

This was our first visit to this hotel and we were delighted. Very attractive on the outside, wonderful staff, very clean and the room was most comfortable. We recommend with the highest regard. Travis, at the front desk, was very professional, warm, helpful and did everything to help us enjoy our stay.

"Great hotel close to the airport"

Oliver H, Owosso, United States 06/07/2018

My family and I briefly stayed here but our time was enjoyable and it was a good experience. We got in late and our flight left early but the hotel was clean, the room was good, and the beds were comfortable. It's very close to the airport without being by all the noise of the airport. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend!

"old hotel"

Terry O, Imperial Beach, California 18/06/2018

I thought legacy ment plush. this was anything but... I started in one room then asked to be swiched . the first room the a/c cycled on for 5 minutes then off for 10 min. all night long .the staff used what seemed like a gallon of carpet deodorizer .the smell was soo strong I had to ask for another room. the second room smelled really musty the shower had no pressure, water came out the pout and the shower head. breakfast was just ok booked for 2 nights left after the first night. what they called truck parking was for a car with a uhaul trailer. luckily there was an empty dirt lot next door . I parked my 60 foot rig there no problem for free.went to holiday inn express 30 min away it was perfection.

"Easy access to airport"

luvfun2, Tucson, Arizona 02/06/2018

This is a good place to stay for flying out of Gateway airport. Has shuttle and easy access. My only criticism is the use of low wattage light bulbs in lamps. Rooms are very dark. I find this a common occurrence on many hotels.

"Awesome Hotel"

alyle2017, Gilbert, Arizona 01/06/2018

The staff here is friendly and I mean ALL the staff. Everyone was so pleasant to talk to. The room was clean, breakfast was delicious and the mini-reception held each evening had great food and drinks. There are so many amenities close by and the hotel staff was always willing to make a recommendation regarding restaurants near by. Great location!

"Easy to find and close to amenities"

Eddie O, Yuma, Arizona, United States 21/05/2018

I took my family out for a graduation event and shopping. Wife and kids enjoyed the room. Comfortable beds, clean room and centralized location. I would definitely stay at this location again. We were pleasantly surprised and we couldn't beat the price.

"One night stay"

User 13/04/2018

The room was clean tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was good and breakfast area comfortable. The snack shop area could use an update. Poor choice selection and no price listings. When I asked how much things were and after payment I was not offered any receipt for my purchase. Upon check in we weren't made aware of any amenities that this hotel had except WiFi. The staff member didn't converse much with us. Didn't ask if we had questions..just checked us in ..gave us the keys and went back to whatever he was doing on computer screen. Check out similar. Staff member didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our stay. PR training would be helpful for some of the staff. It always is a good idea to ask how your stay was. That gives the guest an.opportunity to discuss anybissues in a prosocialvway. Two other staff members were cordial and helpful though.

"Legacy Inn"

Janice B, tucson, United States 10/04/2018

Excellent service and cleanliness. We will definitely stay at this location again. we visit this area three or four times per year and this will be our first choice for all of those trips. I'm glad we found this location.

"BW Mesa"

dagreene2018, Yuma, Arizona 10/04/2018

Excellent hotel, great staff (very helpful), secure place to leave your car (if you're traveling out of the Mesa Airport), and great shuttle service. Bed was a bit harder than we were used to (pillow top mattress would help). Would definitely stay again!

"Late Night Arrival"

Brad O, Martin, South Dakota 10/04/2018

We enjoyed the rooms and the staff was very good. We arrived after midnight due to a flight delay, so no shuttle from the airport, but the hotel and staff were both very pleasant. The location is close to Mesa Gateway Airport which was very convenient.

"Airport shuttle is the best"

gina208, Roscoe, Illinois 09/04/2018

My flight arrived at Mesa Airport late because of a delay, and I called for the shuttle pickup after 10pm. Not only was the driver there by the time I arrived outside the terminal, but he was so very friendly. The drive was quick and the desk clerk checking me in was just as inviting. Everything was comfortable and the breakfast was typical of chain hotels. I wouldn't say this is the best place in town and there were plenty of things to make me think the cost was higher than it should have been, but the location and staff made it worth it.

"This is a don't stay!"

DevilArn, Arvada, Colorado 01/04/2018

We stayed here two years ago and thought this motel was very nice. We tried this place a week ago and it was filthy and felt dirty. The bathroom especially was untidy. I found a broken toilet paper holder, dirty/cruddy shower, dirt and debris below all doors and in corners. The worst part?; the toilet seat was much smaller than the bowl. You can guess what you had to sit on. I have pictures, but out of respect to the readers of this review, I will not post them - that bad! Even the thermostat on the wall was leaking acid onto the wall from the bottom from decaying batteries. Housekeeping however, was easy to find as several of them spent a great deal of time sitting across from the front door smoking cigarettes and chatting. The owners here seem have stopped putting money in this place and there are just too many great hotels nearby to make this one worth your money.

"Spring training"

Colleen M, Paw paw 29/03/2018

Hotel was new and very clean when we got there.had issues with room being ready when we went to check in.room was not cleaned till after 6:00 pm on one of the days of our stay.maid did not refill toilet paper or Kleenex so had to go find a maid to get more.when I mentioned to the front desk that my room hadn't been cleaned the agent simply said the maids were still working .not a great answer.

"Average price will friendly staff"

lovesadventures, Montana 25/03/2018

Spent one night here arriving by shuttle so did not have a car. Arrived at 6 p.m. to find that our room was not ready, so a friendly staff person put us into another room that, unfortunately, had just been cleaned and smelled strongly of cleaning materials. Hotel did appear clean and the room was spacious and comfortable enough for the two of us. As we didn't have transportation, we used the dinner vouchers to get a quick bite to eat. The so called dinner consisted of glopy, mayo pasta and stickey spaghetti and meatballs in a bit of sauce, all served up on plastic that was then discarded into the trash. Truly disgusting and barely edible. I couldn't believe this was a Best Western serving this horrible food. Staff person at front desk was helpful and printed out our boarding passes. Shuttle to take us to the airport was on time. Would find another place in the future, if returning.

"Great Rooms Poor Breakfast"

MELODYKELLY84, Wickenburg, Arizona 12/03/2018

I stay at a lot of hotels and being as I am an employee I look at every little detail from the grout on a floor, spots on driveway to how housekeepers paid attention to dust in a window sill track. This hotel looks great on the outside, and walking in the lobby the décor and large comfy furniture is inviting. I arrived early at the hotel expecting to just leave my bags as I knew it was way early. The clerk on duty around 11:30 on 3/10/18 was actually able to get us into 1 of the 2 rooms I had reserved which was quite nice. Walkways and carpeting going to room was all clean. Usually when I go to a room I notice a list of problems right away, but in room 205 it was great. The housekeepers did a great job. We left for the day and when we returned in the eve it was a different clerk (younger woman with long curly black hair) was there to check us into our 2nd room (#206). She was pleasant as well. I actually did not go in the 2nd room as it was for my family, but they had no complaints. Later on we went to turn out television on in 205 it didn't work. I couldn't find the input button on the TV and the remote didn't have one. Maintenance quickly came to help. Buttons were under the front of the tv which I honestly hadn't looked since never saw them there. All good. Very nice and quick at his job. My only negative comments are about the breakfast. We came down around 8:30 and only 1 attendant working at the time to a pretty full room of people. The presentation was quite off putting as they used cloth napkins underneath all the machines (waffles makers, chafers, etc. ) which were covered in food, batter, grossness. Our hotel does not do this and the attendant just wipes up the counter as needed. Using cloth makes it look very dirty to walk up to. The muffins and bagels were empty. The batter which attendant had just put in was unusable. It was so thick I tried for 8 minutes and could not get the cup filled to make a waffle as it was like watching a snail cross the road barely dripping out of nozzle. The eggs were empty (the scrambled not ham ones) for 20 minutes before attendant brought out more. The sausage was empty while we arrived and was never filled and we were there for half an hour, the bacon was so greasy it was dripping. It was good once you let it sit on your plate for awhile to dry out. The coffee isn't even in the breakfast area and you have to go back out to the lobby and around the corner to get any which was another disaster. Go to get coffee and it is empty. They fill up and we try again and no cups to pour it in. We wait, try again and bottle of creamer is completely empty. You would think as you are maintaining an area you would check everything in it. So yes, amazing rooms and staff, but breakfast I would give a 1 out of 5 since most things staid empty the 30 minutes I was there or wasn't operational.

"Great stay in Mesa"

User 11/03/2018

We were pleasantly surprised during our Best Western stay. We don't typically stay at Best Western hotels but needed one close to the Mesa airport. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Jon, the schuttle driver was very friendly and helped us find a great restaurant. Sebastian, the bartender and server, was very friendly and personable. The staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and enjoy working for BW. We have all been places where that isn't evident.

Bosanchubo, Central Wisconsin 12/02/2018

As senior strangers to this area, this hotel was an excellent choice, following an evening flight to the nearby Gateway Airport. Only a few miles from the airport, BW was easy to find. A spacious room/suite was waiting for us, and the comfy bed/pillows/room provided quiet rest. A delightful, helpful, smiling Kelley welcomed us in the morning, for an ample breakfast beginning to our day. We were happy to return to this hotel before our return flight, several days later. In the evening, a light supper is provided. We enjoyed cheeseburgers w/fixings, macaroni salad, and a beverage . . . just perfect following a day of driving.

"Nice, Clean and Friendly"

sarah3269, Mesa, Arizona 11/02/2018

We stayed for one night, the night before we flew back home. The pool was wonderful, the staff was nice and friendly and the room was clean. We would stay here next time we are in the town and would recommend it to other.

"Just OK"

orca106, CHICAGO 07/02/2018

First and foremost, the staff was never poor. Not exceptional, but I am OK with that too. Overall appearance when walking in and through halls to the room was clean. Room was clean also. My major and I do mean MAJOR disappointment, which doesn't fall on the fault of the hotel although, I have seen MANY complaints in the reviews regarding it is the smell. Thankfully it is NOT inside, but driving anywhere the 2 mile radius of this hotel, if you decide to hang out in the Jacuzzi or pool at night, you will get SMACKED in the face with the smell of the Dairy Farm across the street. It's awful. It's so strong it's as if it's sitting under your nose. I'm used to farms, but this isn't a farm smell.....mostly urine or something. Anyway, it's a not hotels fault but I will next time stay at a different location. No way would I want to sit outside at the pool taking this in. The first night stay I was freezing all night sharing a room with my brother. Next day I called front desk for a blanket and they said they only had a few that go in rotation and all were already gone. UGH so there was a thermostat war with my brother and I. I have to also complain about the shower. It was AWFUL. There was no water pressure at all and out of the 4 days there depending on time of day the water was barely warm or chill. So with low water pressure on top of it, the showers were cold. No bueno. Breakfast is like any other continental breakfast. The cooked food they had was scrambled eggs, cheap bacon, (sorry but im a bacon snob) & Biscuits and Gravy. Let's just say I ate anything that wasn't made in the kitchen, no disrespect to the staff. I am just a picky eater. You do have your waffles, which it would be nice if they had fruit to top it off with. Cereal and breads, along with yogurt. We had vouchers for a free dinner, but I opted to eat good. If you are not a picky eater and your in it for the free meal, than you should have no complaints. The bed was hard but I managed. In my room with two queens and a pull out we had a fridge & microwave. Now, this is my last comment. I do not have proof but from my viewing, outside our window we can see straight down into the pool. One morning, my brother pointed out that it looked like there was (waste) in the jacuzzi. Sure enough, it did look like it. I just thought maybe from above looking down it was paint chipped off. When we went for breakfast moments later I saw staff spreading something into the Jacuzzi and turning it on full blast. When we went back up, what we saw was gone. So, either this falls on really disgusting guest or locals. Either way, this is exactly why I hate public pools or jacuzzi's. Overall, for the negative reviews itself I wouldnt stay at this location again. But staff was good. Just don't know how else a hotel has a chance to bypass the stench.

"Nice Hotel"

samramtx, Lubbock, Texas 26/01/2018

This was our second stay here. It used to be a BW Plus but the Plus designation is gone. It's a nice place to stay. The room was comfortable enough. The first thing I noticed was that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in a couple of days, but the rest of the room appeared to be clean. Breakfast was what you expect but was good and filling. We got a great rate compared to other hotels in the area and it is convenient to the family members we were visiting. Would certainly stay here again.

User 21/01/2018

I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a smile! We did not have a room booked, and we got to have supper & breakfast included in our room rate! The room was great. Jacob at the desk was so fun to deal with I wished we lived closer, so we could support this place. Will definately stay here next time we come to Mesa.

This hotel was a completed disappointment from the very start. Upon check in the facility could care less if we stated there or not and it showed. I have been to numerous Best Western facility's and have never been treated like I was at this one upon checking in. I am a current diamond elite rewards member and will never stay at this facility again.

"Dirty Rooms"

Tracy F, Payson, Arizona 29/12/2017

This hotel is near a dairy farm and the air outside is quite pungent. The smell carried over into our room??. The carpets were dirty and the beds were uncomfortable. The heater/air conditioning unit was loud and kept us awake all night.

"Disappointing Visit"

User 25/12/2017

We stayed at the Best Western Legacy Inn and Suites over Thanksgiving Weekend with my son's travel hockey team. When we checked in, the staff working at reception was, for lack of a better word, unenthusiastic. That may be because we checked in on Thanksgiving. We were given our room keys. When we went to our room, someone else's belongings were in the room and the beds were unmade. When I told the lady at reception that she checked us into an occupied room, without even apologizing, she simply gave us keys to another room. Another person on our team checked into a room where the beds were made, but the bathrooms had not been cleaned. They complained a few time and had the staff re-clean the room. But ultimately their room was comped. The complementary breakfast was fair, but the breakfast room was so small that it was messy. We ended up just eating breakfast out after the first morning. There are positives to this hotel. The rooms are large. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms and showers were more than functional. The room also comes equipped with refrigerators and microwaves. All in all, I would not stay there again.

I love staying at Best Western. Everywhere I visit, I can book my room with no worries. I know that I will be staying in a reasonably priced, clean, and comfortable room. Great job Best Western! *****

Great Hotel and staff was friendly and nice. I have stayed at this Hotel twice in the last 30 days and found the service great. I plan to stay there on all my Phoenix trips when I have business in that area.

Good value, nice location in Gilbert. Rooms are ok, nothing fancy, but solid overall. Complimentary breakfast and light dinners. Air conditioners in rooms are older than they should be. This is a good choice and value for families.

Ashley E, Tucson 03/12/2017

i had a reservation for 2 queen beds when i arrived the hotel changed my reservation to a one king bed and sofa pull out the day before my arrival (i called best western to verify.) it did have a sofa sleeper but if my reservation was for 2 queens what gives the right to change a reservation without disclosing to the guest first? the morning before i arrived my card was authorized WITHOUT my authorization, i called the hotel and they claimed it was for a deposit but when i got to the hotel they asked for an additional deposit. my reservation was for a free stay and yet, my reservation was changed and my card was authorized without my consent. then the front desk girl said my reservation was changed because point stays are only for one king beds. Lastly, they did not refund my points for free stay and they closed my complaint file stating they upgraded me without charge. So thank you for everything you guys did, really appreciate it :)

16kennethd, Tucson, United States 01/12/2017

Clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. Excellent location. Close to the airport, but not so close that there was a lot of noise. Good quality for the money. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

"BW Legacy problems"

User 30/11/2017

We were promised 2 beds and got one. We reconfirmed 2 beds a week ahead as well at reservation. My husband slept on the floor as we were 3 people. Breakfast was frozen and boxed and would not have anyone purchasing if it were extra cost. TV went out of order.

"Service was Terrible"

jaleman543, Sedona, Arizona 20/11/2017

The front desk were very poor, they wouldn't even bother to help me anything. I asked for extra pillows since there was 4 of us staying in the room and they said they cant run pillows until 4 then when i called again around that time the front desk said they were all out of pillows. I work at a best western my self as front desk and i know for a fact they had more pillows, since i work at a best western I know how they should treat there guest and they need to learn how too. They seemed very lazy in everything and plus breakfast was terrible. The food made my stomach fight back and i didn't feel good all day. room smelt like crap all my stay due to were it is positioned by the field. Not a good place to stay, if you are planning to stay there i would recommend to keep looking for a better place.

"Top Notch Hotel"

Tom B, Edgerton 20/11/2017

Excellent facility and fantastic personel. I arrived later in the evening without a reservation and was immediately given the best room in the place plus a discount for being a veteran. The breakfast area was well stocked in the morning and kept very clean. I will stay here again on my next trip to the Phoenix area.

:( DON'T STAY AT THE LEGACY INN & SUITES IN MESA, AZ!!! The desk clerk is rude & they treat their seniors & military veterans with no respect!!! We made a reservation to stay at this motel. At the time I made the reservation, we WERE NOT TOLD OF THEIR 24 HOUR CANCELLATION NOTICE policy by the desk clerk who made the reservation & had an attitude to begin with!! During the night, before we were to check in, my husband had some heart health issues arise & we had to cancel without giving a 24 hour notice which we were not notified of when making the initial reservation by phone. (Usually when making a reservation with BW, they will state to call before 4:00 p.m. to cancel or we will be charged for that night) When I called to cancel the reservation, the desk clerk was rude. I later talked to the manager & explained our situation to her. She stated 24 hour notice was their policy & we were NOT getting a refund! We are on a fixed income & don't have an extra $100.00 to burn & get nothing for it!! I even offered to give them a note from my husband's heart doctor & even that doesn't help! Just be aware that their 24 cancellation notice policy is WRITTEN IN STONE! You're NOT getting a refund no matter what your reason for cancelling within that 24 hours! Plus the desk clerk had an attitude then became very rude on subsequent calls to this motel! When I called back later & asked to speak to the manager, the desk clerk asked in a mean tone, "What's going on?" & it went downhill from there even though I remained polite! The Best Western corporate office won't do anything & is of no help at all in this matter!! I would give this motel zero stars if that was an option so I'll just tell you they get minus zero & a F minus for their customer service! We've stayed at Best Westerns for over 50 years and will NEVER make a reservation or stay at another Best Western motel, EVER!! Their customer service stinks!! Tomorrow is Veteran's Day. This is no way to treat an elderly, 24 year, military veteran!!! :( :( :(

Great staff and very clean. The free drinks in the bar were very tasty. The breakfast lacked more bacon and sausage. It's usually pretty good but not this visit. Maybe we should have been there at 7am. We didn't think 8am was late considering they serve until 9:30. Guess no one checked. Also their after dinner cookies are really good. Grab them quick as they go fast!

"Highly Recommend"

Kathy O, Chciago, United States 02/11/2017

We stayed here one night because they offered an airport shuttle. The shuttle was very prompt & upon checking into the hotel the desk manager was super nice. We had one small issue with the tv and he sent someone up and it was repaired in two minutes. Breakfast was a nice bonus. We will definitely stay at this property again!

"family trip"

Larry G, Brandon 23/10/2017

Every thing was as expected. The shuttle driver was super nice, friendly and accomodating. Good breakfast, but she could have used some help, the area was very messy, with food on the counter and floor, even her apron was dirty. We made reservations 1 month in advance, and didn't get our request of 2 rooms together, she did change us, but what if they would have been full?

I (we) have been staying at the Legacy Inn Hotel and Suites for the past 4-5 years. The stay there has always been a relaxing experience. The staff continues to be friendly, professional, courteous and accommodating. The staff is always a great example of the Best Western Plus name--a definite asset

815talmam, Coldwater, United States 19/10/2017

I have stayed in this place lots of times. It was far below normal as far as cleanliness and room appliances working correctly. I will say that the front desk personal was very friendly and the breakfast personal were right on getting more food out and cleaning off the tables. I will have to think twice before I stay here again.

"Rooms are filthy, staff is unprofessional"

User 09/10/2017

The hotel and room were filthy. Upon entering our first room, there was a horrible stench. As we started to get settled, we noticed that the room had not been properly cleaned. There was food on the floor and it didn't appear the bathroom was clean. We discovered that the horrible smell was coming from the microwave where there had clearly been food rotting in it for weeks. When I requested a different room. The person at the front desk, asked me if I was sure that the smell wasn't coming from the cows outside “because they smell like butt.” The staff was unprofessional and not very apologetic. Also, the breakfast was not maintained throughout the morning, there was food everywhere and not cleaned up. The entire stay was disgusting.

"Best Continental Breakfast EVER!"

326jacobp, Provo, United States 08/10/2017

This place had the largest continental breakfast selection I have ever seen at a hotel. My kids, my wife and I where blown away with the variety and the selection of food they had available. We looked forward to getting up every morning for breakfast.

"enjoyed our stay"

Good typical B/W breakfast. Staff there work very hard. Good selection of teas. Better than the Plus we stayed at inn Henderson. Nice pool, shade in the morning and full sun most of the afternoon. Go bag at checkout was nice with fruit and cookie.

"Great location"

Bridget D, Troutdale, Oregon 26/09/2017

I've stayed at Best Western in the past and it's one of my go to places. This location was perfect for us while visiting family in Gilbert. The hotel was very quiet, wonderful lobby area and very nice room. Great value. Will stay there on my next visit to the area.

"rude and unhelpful front desk clerk"

codyr945, mesa, United States 24/09/2017

Would not let our employee check in a room we had reserved for him on our business credit card. She was rude and unhelpful, age also would not let him use his own card to pay for the room and it was a late night after a long day of laboring work.

"Very nice place"

doster76, Eugene, OR 22/09/2017

I had to stay in this hotel for 2 nights. It is a very nice hotel. Rooms are put together well. The breakfast is great and it is very clean and looks pretty new. It has a lot of people on business in it. It is quiet with a good pool. My only complaint is the people that do the food have way to much to do for one person and the layout makes it much harder on them.

"Not fair"

User 21/09/2017

An employee accused me of being a thief. I felt Management sided with the employee before they even looked at surveillance video. The employee lied because he made a mistake and he tried to put the blame on me the guest.

"Beautiful hotel"

B3682XIkarenc, Goodyear, Arizona 17/09/2017

Very nice looking & very clean. Too bad the couldn't add some insulation during their fancy renovation. Bring earmuffs or headphones. Breakfast started too late on Saturday, was not able to enjoy it. But they do offer a full hot breakfast if you can fit their schedule.

"Pleasant surprise"

Timothy S, Los Angeles, California 16/09/2017

Basically picked this hotel out of a hat as an overnight travel stop. Not only did they have the typical breakfast, they also offered us a complimentary dinner. Everyone was helpful and it was one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at. We left the next morning relaxed and refreshed.

"Poor review"

614janinac, Alpine, United States 12/09/2017

I was given a room looking out at a wall, I asked to be moved and he moved me to the third floor looking out at the same wall, I again went down and asked for a better view and reluctantly he finally gave me a room looking out on the fields. My room was not cleaned one day, I asked them to come later and I guess they forgot me. Fridge froze my food and drinks, they offered complementary dinner and food run out at 6:30pm, dinner just had strated???? why bother??

I had a great experience staying here. The hotel was clean, very well decorated, offered complementary breakfast and a small dinner with a free drink. Room was very clean and nicely decorated with modern fixtures and granite counters. Room had a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. Also had an iron and ironing board in room. Bed was comfortable and clean. All in all a great stay. Would definitely stay here again.

We were there for our sons wedding. We had two suites for 3 nights. The rooms were perfectly sized and the pool was very pleasant. The interior design was modern and cozy. The bathroom might have been a bit bigger.. We had 4 people per room. But other than that, perfect!

DocNewYorkCity, New York City 25/08/2017

Heavy stink of cow manure from field across street made our arrival memorable. Check-in agent didn't bother to have me fill out papers or tell me I needed to park out back inorder to leave our car a few days - making me scramble at 5am to do so before the airport shuttle left. Trash was full in bathroom - nasty. Air conditioner sounded like a truck idling all night - couldn't sleep, even with earplugs. Walls very thin, heard lot's of noise. I've stayed at Best Western all over the world, this was the worst experience by far.

"Awesome breakfast"

96grad, Tucson, Arizona 24/08/2017

Overall, the room was clean; however, I would encourage a little more frequency when it comes to shampooing the carpeting. The staff were professional and helpful. On exit I did report that the sink drain was sluggish and the front desk immediately filled out a work order. Sleeping quality was average since the AC unit cycled off and on all night. Next time I'll sent the thermostat real chilly.

"Highly recommend"

rethah2017, Modesto, United States 23/08/2017

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and was very pleased. It is clean and had good amenities. There is a refrigerator and microwave oven in room. There is a continental breakfast that is excellent. There is a good variety of both hot and cold foods. There is a shuttle to the airport also. I would recommend this hotel highly.

"Very Impressed"

Gary G, Phoenix, United States 22/08/2017

Hard to believe this is not a BWPlus. I spent the night there as I was catching a flight the following morning at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. The building is beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable. Did not have breakfast due to early departure for airport. Hotel even has a wine and beer lounge, Pool and hot tub in the courtyard. Like evPerything else, beautifully maintained. Staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. An outstanding experience.

"Good, not great"

Keith S, Kingman, Arizona 21/08/2017

Yes, there's a farm across the street and the smell can be nasty, but inside the hotel you will not notice it. The staff was good and the check in/out went well. Price is pretty good. The room was nice except for a few maintenance issues. It was reasonably clean but could have been better. Coffee was not replaced when the bed was made. A/C worked well. Bed was comfy. Complimentary breakfast is a bonus. Not extensive but suitable. I'd stay here again.

"Dinner, Drinks, and Breakfast!"

User 19/08/2017

Shuttle to and from airport! Staff was awesome and helped replace many necessity items when we arrived and my luggage was lost. Rooms are nicely decorated and mostly clean (could be improved). Upon checking in, we received tickets for dinner and drinks served at the hotel, plus they had the usual "hotel breakfast" items each morning. Good place to go for business or casual, not romantic or family.

Once again this place took great care of us before our 5:30am departure! Quick/smooth check-in! Clean lobby, elevator, and hallways! Our room... perfect! The room was spotless! Everything was in order... towels, bedding, pillows, furniture... the service shown here will bring is back here the next time we are in Mesa. And the bed... Comfortable! I had a great night of sleep! Pool area... loved it! Well kept! Parking... the grounds and landscaping really make this hotel an inviting looking place! Breakfast... since we had to leave early, the cold breakfast that is set out at 4am is a nice way to depart. I am glad you had something for us before we left! Close to the Gateway Airport, mall area, and Chick-fil-A! This is a great place to stay!!

"A little plus, a little minus"

lifeisverygood2, Queen Creek, Arizona 11/07/2017

Here are the plus items: *Easy and friendly check in - front desk person was very nice to work with *Large and comfortable rooms - not fancy, but very spacious *The beds, bedding, towels and pillows were all great *Good rates during the summer, don't know about the winter rates *Quiet area, not a lot of street noise - not a busy street (45 mph 4 lanes street) *Our room was very quiet, too - Here are the minus items: *Annoyingly loud air conditioning unit, which is too bad (I noticed a review clear back in 2014 with the same type of comments about the air conditioning. Too bad they can't upgrade because air conditioning in the summer is not an option - it's a must. If you were staying here in the spring or fall, you could leave it off, the weather is so temperate. But in the summer heat, it's going to be on all night long.) *The hot water in the shower gets pretty warm, but not hot (so if you want a really nice, hot shower, you're probably out of luck - this is a "get the job done shower" *The hotel was pretty clean, but not immaculate- it has the feel of an older property

"Hotel stay"

This property is nicely maintained and staff is friendly. Bed are very comfortable. Was quiet too. Towels are a little rough. This was just a quick trip but we will stay here again. "Jewel near Mesa-Gateway Airport"

Great value on AAA rate, very nice staff, good rooms, well appointed. Get on the backside away from Power Road noise (not bad). Only complaint is isolated from services to walk to so need a car. Hotel can't fix that! An easy 2 miles to Mesa-Gateway Airport where we were working. I almost always stay here on business unless it's full!

"Overnight Prior To Flight"

azsunshine2u, Phoenix 06/06/2017

I've stayed at the Legacy Inn once before the night prior to flying out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway so it was the first hotel (and only hotel) I looked at when I knew I would be needing to book a room for myself and my two nieces the night before their flight back home to South Dakota. Was not disappointed. Reasonable price and good selection of "cold foods" for breakfast which began at 4am. Definitely was glad for that given the girls had to be at the airport at 5am. :) If the need arises again, I'll most certainly look at Legacy again.

We chose to cancel Marriott Courtyard and instead cook with BW because it is closer to our destination. I'm sorry we did so, because I have a number of complaints about this place. First, upon check-in we noticed that the sink in the bathroom was dirty. So naturally we asked front desk to have someone clean it. No one came. We asked again before leaving for the evening. No one came. So then my sister checks in and we swap rooms with them, and our new room is not even ready. So we explain the situation and they move us to a new room. 2nd complaint, the water pressure is dismal. Barely enough to shower. Third, breakfast was mediocre at best. I know this place isn't a Holiday Inn, but come on folks. You want people to come back, not drive them away.

"Best value in Phoenix!"

761bonniew, Yuma, Arizona 16/05/2017

My #1 choice for flying out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Great deals on park & fly. Nice facility with friendly, accommodating staff. They even provide dinner on your arrival night, breakfast, and a hotel shuttle.

"Best western"

Greta S, Lake Havasu City 07/05/2017

Excellent staff. Comfortable rooms. Convenient location for where we were. The eggs could have been hotter at the breakfast buffet but it was a really nice experience overall. It feels like everyone who works there cares

Cheryl M, Billings, Montana 02/05/2017

I really enjoyed the hotel and the great service. Complimentary dinner and drinks were a great bonus. The shuttle van available to airport and various restaurants was great. Room very clean and the housekeeper gave me extra decaf coffee.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear Cheryl, Thank you for such a wonderful five star review, we greatly appreciate it! We're glad that you enjoyed the complimentary dinner and the shuttle service and we'd love to welcome you back anytime in the future! All the best, Jennifer Bruce Sales Manager

"Nice place"

Jane P, South Bend, Indiana 25/04/2017

We came up from Tucson because we had a very early flight out of Gateway. We left too early to take advantage of the hot breakfast but the coffee was good. We were there a little over 12 hours and all was good. The pool looked inviting but I wasn't knocked out by the fact that everyone in the dining room/bar could watch you as you swam, sunbathed, etc. Kind of creepy actually. I'd stay there again...probably wouldn't take a swim tho :)

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to review your most recent stay with us and for being our guest, we appreciate it and look forward to welcoming you back soon! Thanks again and have a wonderful day! :) Jennifer Bruce Sales Manager

"Above and Beyond "

User 20/04/2017

Stayed overnight with friends prior to early departure from Mesa Airport. Room nice size, beds very comfortable and sheets divine. We got home from dinner with 2 pre teens and they were out of cookies. Not only did they bake us 4 chocolate chip cookies, they delivered them to the room. This hotel has a great location within a mile of many restaurants and shopping.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear Bette, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're glad that you liked our location and I'm happy that we were able to deliver those fresh baked cookies to your room! Thanks again and have a wonderful day! Jennifer Bruce Sales Manager

"I appreciated the location"

UtahTraveler201401, Manti, Utah 11/04/2017

I was in the Valley, visiting family and friends who live in Gilbert, Mesa and Apache Junction. The hotel was centrally located to all of these areas. Nice facility, though they could use a little more parking. "Thanks" to Antony who was working the night shift, and helped me with luggage, etc. when I wanted to leave at 4:30 AM

"Not a traditional suite"

tribegirl3, North Canton, Ohio 10/04/2017

Convenient location, staff was very friendly. Pool is very small and there was not enough seating available. This is not what I would consider a true suite, there was no door to separate the areas, merely a wall partition. Breakfast was okay, did not take advantage of free dinner/happy hour.

"Spring Training"

joannah06, Albuquerque, New Mexico 06/04/2017

We went out for baseball spring training and had a great time. This area has lots of great nearby restaurants and shopping. If you want to relax the pool is great. We spent hours there, the kids swam, and we brought along our own food and refreshments. Great staff!

"Best Western my worst hotel stay"

carlosoH6297AV, Arcadia, United States 30/03/2017

this hotel gets a very poor review. will not recommend this hotel for friends and family. Some hotel staff members are not helpful or friendly. Rooms are dirty and bed sheets are old and dirty will not recommend this hotel.

"Very Friendly Staff"

Maria S, Las Vegas, United States 28/03/2017

WiFi doesn't work. The pool area is very small, the AC unit in our room made a very loud and odd noise. Other than that, it was a nice hotel and extremely friendly, and professional staff. I really liked how they also offered free dinner.

willier560, Vacaville, California 27/11/2016

The service was very good and all the staff was very pleasant. The decor of the hotel when you walk in is very nice and elegant giving you the sense of a clean and nice atmosphere that it is. Our room was clean bed was very comfortable. Only downside is where they are located there is a bad smell in the air which comes throught the vents and gives your room a really bad odor but I purchased a small size travel can of febreze that really helped. Breakfast was really nice too

"Don't even think about staying here"

D9212OYjamesa, Upland, Ca, United States 22/11/2016

Room was very sparsely furnished. Hotel cleanliness was not good. No hot water and no concern from the staff as to getting it fixed or guest comfort. I had planned to stay 3 nights, stayed 1 and hated it.

Salvatore D, Gilbert 18/11/2016

numerous problems in a number of the rooms we booked for a wedding no hot water staff was very rude when differant family members were making reservations one family member was actually hung up on because the person at the desk said he was to busy

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello Salvatore, I apologize for your poor experience during your stay. I have brought your comments to the attention of the General Manager so she can discuss this with the staff. "Great If you like smell of barnyard"

Selah419, Omaha, Nebraska 13/11/2016

This hotel is ok, good value, located close to airport. But at night we turned air conditioning on and were greeted with smell of cow manure. Went outside and about gagged at smell in air. Not sure what is nearby, but not pleasant place to stay unless you are a cow.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello! I want to apologize on behalf of the hotel for the smell. Due to our location, the surrounding areas can smell like the local farms. We hope that you will give us another chance and that the smell does not ruin your stay. Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Complimentary Dinner and Breakfast"

lulu2810, Springfield, Missouri 08/11/2016

Only minutes from the Mesa airport. Service at front desk, shuttle, breakfast all performed well with a smile. The room was comfortable and clean. A surprise was the complimentary meal provided a dinnertime. There isn't a restaurant within easy walking distance and we had turned in our rental car so this was a great convenience for us. Our night it was chili and really good cornbread. We will stay here again.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello! Thank you for your kind words! We love that surprise meal for guests. Our cornbread and chili are a favorite for everyone that stays, so we're happy you got to enjoy it! We'll see you soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Comfortable Best Western near Mesa Gateway Airport. Feels new. Free Dinner!"

travelinman_CA, Columbia, California 23/10/2016

Really! Free Dinner! Not very elegant but a nice touch if you arrive and just want to chill in the Bar or Room. Sloppy Joe's that night. A short drive from Appleby's etc. Includes a complimentary beer or wine, too. Great rates that night, A free shuttle to airport. I will be back!

"Nice Place, Interesting Odor"

Dugfun1, Las Vegas, Nevada 12/10/2016

Really a nice, comfortable, and clean place. Staff was super accommodating and friendly. Rooms were good size and well kept. Pool is smaller and located in the back. Bar area had nice TV's and was a cool place to hang out as a group. Only negative was the wonderful smell of manure outside...wow...pretty strong. Who doesn't enjoy the scent of fresh fertilizer in the morning?! Whew...this fresh airl definitely got your attention!

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for your response! I'm glad you were able to enjoy the lounge and pool area with your group! I apologize for the local manure smell. We're located in a former farm area, so sometimes the wind changes just enough and guests are greeted with the odor. We'd love to see you back again! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"wonderful stay"

Michael F, minneapolis, United States 10/10/2016

Our stay at this hotel in Mesa was really lovely. The employees were all extremely helpful and pleasant. They offered both free full breakfasts but also free dinner plates and one free drink at happy hour at the bar. The room was most welcoming with nice decor and a comfortable bed. Quiet and wonderful to stay at.

"An extra bonus at this hotel"

Diane P, FISHERS 09/10/2016

We were visiting a relative in the area and she said she heard it was a nice place to stay. It not only was nice, it was great. At check in we were offered two drink tickets and two meal tickets. The clerk explained they offered a light meal. It was a hamburger and potato salad and both were good. We were tired and really didn't need to eat out, so gave it a try. The wine was good and so was our dinner. Pool water outdoors was cold so we did not go in.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Diane, Thank you so much for staying with us! We love that our dinner can be so convenient for travelers that just want to relax when they arrive. I apologize for the pool water, but hope that the next time you arrive you can enjoy that amenity! Hope to see you soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"A Great Value!"

Trixie F, Phoenix, Arizona 13/09/2016

We needed a room near Mesa Gateway Airport because we had an early flight out the next morning. I am so glad we chose this property. The grounds were nicely maintained. The front desk staff was very friendly and seemed to be pleased we were there. The room was super clean and had all adequate towels and a bath mat. "Happy Hour" turned out the be dinner and a complimentary beverage. That night we had pulled pork sandwiches and cole slaw and it was delicious. The room was comfortable and quiet. The next morning we chose to leave our car at the hotel, a service they offer for a small extra fee, and take the hotel shuttle to the airport. When we got back into town, one call to the hotel and the shuttle came back to get us. When I consider what I saved on dinner and long term airport parking fees, this hotel was a huge bargain!!!

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review

"Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport Park and Fly"

FlipFlopPeki, Hereford, Arizona 05/09/2016

Due to an early flight out of Gateway airport in Mesa, we needed a Park and Fly hotel. I chose Best Western Legacy Inn and Suites. What a pleasant surprise when we arrived in the evening and hungry to find that they had a complimentary dinner of Pulled Pork sandwiches, plus wine or beer. They really hit the spot! The hot tub and pool were really relaxing too. The shuttle was there to take us to our early flight and when we returned we only had to wait about 10 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up and take us to our car. We will definitely stay there again!

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for your kind review! I'm so happy our complimentary dinner was able to hit the spot and that our parking accommodations really made your trip convenient. We look forward to seeing you back soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager PS. Pulled pork sounds good right now...

"Conveniently located to Mesa Gateway "

Kim H, Springfield, Missouri 28/08/2016

We stayed one night at this hotel to be near the airport for an early morning flight out of Mesa Gateway. The hotel is located about 3 miles from the airport. The drive is an easy one from the hotel or they have a shuttle. The staff was extremely welcoming and pleasant. The room was clean and stayed plenty cool. It is decently appointed with a comfy bed. Our room had a microwave and small fridge. There were no noise issues and the wifi worked just fine. They had a small pool, a small hotel bar that was open until 9pm. The breakfast was included. They have a continental breakfast starting at 4:00am if you have to leave before their hot and plentiful breakfast that starts at 6:30am. No complaints. We will likely stay here again because of the convenient location and reasonable price.

"Squirrel in the AC????"

Dana A, Colorado Springs, Colorado 25/08/2016

I was disappointed that in a ten day stay they missed room service twice. Additionally, the AC unit was acting weird and kept the room around 76-78 degrees instead of 70 degrees, which for Phoenix, AZ is important to me. I also think that I head a rodent in the AC unit, but I didn't want to confirm that personally.

"Quite high end service for lower price"

mtrinko, Tucson, Arizona 25/08/2016

From arrival to departure there were no problems lots of smiles and employees who genuinely cared about my comfort and satisfaction. The room was clean and the maid was happy to accommodate my special requests the breakfast was exquisite.

"Not happy with room"

elaine602014, Mesa, Arizona 24/08/2016

Fridge was not clean. No TV remote. Bathroom frame broken and sticking out. Candy wrappers were in closet not picked up. Room was not cleaned at all one day. Called maid to clean, and she promised extra towels for our inconvenience. When we came back after she cleaned room, she never left any towels at all. Hallways were not vacuumed for the three days we were there.

"Surprisingly good"

MikeG_82272, Saint Louis, Missouri 24/08/2016

I recently went to Phoenix for a concert and found the Best Western. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the hotel was based on other Best Westerns I have stayed at. The rooms were classice "Southwestern" decor but very clean well maintained and comfortable. The bathrooms were were spacious and clean as well. The pool was a welcome amenity and it too was well maintained and properly cleaned. Breakfast was complimenty continential and was adequate for a no cost starter. My only "gripe" was the poor lighting in the rooms. A hall light and 2 lamps that provided little light. At the end of the day I'd stay there again

"Best Place in the Valley"

moonster1, Chubbuck, Idaho 22/08/2016

One of the best motels ever. Awesome service. I was meeting my bone marrow donor for the fgirst time and wanted a private place other than the lobby. They got us a conference room and provided ice water and cups. This was a special occasion made even greater by you guys. W4 stay there everything we come to your area. Can't be beat.

"Park and Fly"

MarciaTucson_Arizona, Tucson, Arizona 19/08/2016

We thoroughly enjoyed out short stay at this hotel. We parked our car there for the week that we were away. When we arrived, there were freshly baked cookies at the check in desk which we really enjoyed after a two hour drive. The parking area was near trees which offered some shade from the hot Arizona sun. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfast was adequate and the staff was very nice. The shuttle was efficient and promptly picked us up on our return. Will definitely stay here again!

We stayed one night, it was peaceful and quiet, we stayed in a room away from Power Road as it can be noisy. We were in for 65th birthday event and this was a most convenient place to stay. No problems with anything in the room and we was offered a happy hour drink. Unfortunately could not partake and even missed the breakfast. However, saw that all looked presentable.

The final leg of this family trip landed us here. While a little further out of town than I remembered (I used to live in the valley) the freeway access gets you where you need to be with no problems. The room is great, the hotel offered free hot breakfast with a number of options. Also, there is a little bar serving beer and wine at great prices. They also offer a small dinner fare if you want to eat-in. The pool is nice and clean along with the rest of the hotel. Freeway access to two shopping venues and dining for any type of eating you want. This area is a little bare still but is quickly growing. Hotel staff are very nice, though we haven't yet had to ask them for anything we needed. The room has a small kitchenette with a microwave and mini fridge so grabbing a microwave meal or reheating leftovers is a snap. I really enjoy staying here. I do suggest asking for an east facing room since the AZ sun will make your room a little warm in case you forget to turn up the AC. I would definitely stay here again.

Yveline S, ABQ, United States 31/07/2016

The only con I can think of is that the room door is very heavy to push open. Derick and the lady that prepared breakfast were extremely kind and made sure that I was happy. I completely enjoyed breakfast. They had everything you may want to have for breakfast. Family was impressed and enjoyed their stay.

"just an overnighter.............July 22, 2016"

Jacki C, Peoria, Arizona, United States 23/07/2016

Mine starts out like Amy C. did hers. We chose this one because its close to Mesa-Gateway airport and we stayed once before. The price is reasonable ($85 I think) and we arrived late, abt 10:30PM. The room was clean, quiet (until 4AM), and bed big and compfy. Refer not plugged in/turned on but no matter to me. I did like the heavy brown drapes that blocked that AZ morning sun. Sunrise was so pretty too. A big tall palm tree was outside my window and since I was awake at sunrise (see 4AM comment above) I got to enjoy it. Also a bit later I decided I'd go for a walk outside instead of using the fitness center altho I used it later anyway. Kind of an industrial area but no problems. Breakfast had scrambled eggs/ham, pastries, cereal, biscuits&gravy, juices and good coffee.(standard Cont. bfast I guess) The pool is just outside the breakfast room. At 10:30PM on July 22 when we arrived my son in law escorted me in and talked to the front desk clerk abt the smell. I said it smelled of skunk, son in law said it was "pot". I don't know if it was either. I do know after sleeping maybe 4 hours someone either down the hall from my room at 336 or the floor below kept slamming their door! going in and out with no regard for anyone else. I called finally the front desk and spoke to Zack who said he'd check it out. He did& heard no slams. It didn't get better for me so 10 min. later I called again and he said "It must be the floor below you - I will check it out." Still no change. SO i guess the good news is the hotel was responsive, however, bad news is it didn't help.Next day Dave was the shuttle driver and it ran every half hour (liked that)I got downstairs at 10:20 AM and he took me right away. That was nice. Also Derrick went out of his way to get me change for a $10 bill. Otherwise it was ok for a one nighter. AS ALWAYS, no one tells me what to write as a review. "Nice place to stay near Mesa Airport"

Amy C, Colorado Springs 19/07/2016

This was a nice place to stay for the price. We chose it due to the location being so close to Mesa Airport. We arrived late at night and departed early in the morning. It was clean, comfortable and met our needs within a modest budget. We didn't use any of the hotel amenities, like the included breakfast, but I'm sure it would have been fine. Everything looked nice. Check-in and check-out were a breeze and we were on our way.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Amy, Thank you for staying with us! Although you didn't get to utilize all of our amenities, I'm glad that your experience was a great one! Hope to see you back soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Great Hospitality and Free Shuttle to the Airport"

Linda T, Cincinnati, Ohio, United States 18/07/2016

We stayed here for 1 night prior to an early flight. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the free chocolate chip cookies as a bedtime snack. We grabbed a free cold breakfast at 5 am prior to our free shuttle to the airport for a 6:30 flight. Wonderful place to stay.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Linda, Thank you for staying with us and we're glad you enjoyed our little treats at the front desk! Hope to see you soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Clean and Comfortable"

User 15/07/2016

This hotel is new, clean and comfortable. Close to Williams/Gateway airport and offered a shuttle service. They do charge $20 to leave your car there, which turned out to be cheaper than the airport parking lot, but most motels don't charge. If there was a negative it was in staffing. The evening clerk appeared to be the only one working and we had to wait almost 40 minutes on the return shuttle van ride back to the motel, which is about 10 minutes away from Williams/Gateway. We used our BW Rewards points for our stay. But I would go return to that BW again.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for kind words! We will discuss with the evening staff on how to make nightly shuttle runs more convenient for guests. We hope to see you back soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"The best Best Western"

2pugztubbs, Santa Rosa, California 08/07/2016

We chose this Best Western based on the great reviews, affordable price and nice location. Growing up in Arizona, I remembered that this was a nice area. Any of the lesser priced motels nearby are in less desirable areas. We only needed to stay one night in between arriving at Phoenix Mesa Gateway airport and heading up to Prescott so this location was perfect as it is close to the airport. First impression was good as the landscaping and building inside and out were really nice. Staff at the front desk were pleasant and professional. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. We also liked that the rooms were accessed from the inside with an elevator, making a June visit a little more bearable and lugging luggage a little easier! The pool and spa were nice and clean and the perfect temperature. I have raved to everyone how impressed I was with this Best Western since our trip!

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so happy that you stayed with us during your quick transit up to Prescott. The staff in at the front desk will be notified of your kind words and we hope to see you back here very soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Makes flying in and out of Mesa do-able!"

MissEb, Prescott, AZ 06/07/2016

I have stayed here many times when flying in and out of Mesa on Allegiant Airlines. The best thing about this hotel is the shuttle. The drivers are very friendly, and will pick you up at all hours (allegiant is rather unreliable time-wise) and will take you to dinner, shopping, and car rental. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable, but I'm usually too tired to enjoy it fully.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
We love our shuttle service! The location of the airport and the friendliness of our drivers are something we truly take pride in. I hope the next time you are in town you can enjoy the hotel a little more! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Couldn't be better"

nancysY3123NF, Queen Creek, Arizona 01/07/2016

Our A/C went out during the hottest week of the year so far. The customer service was excellent from check-in through check-out. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was better than most we've experienced. The "dinner" and drinks were a wonderful surprise. They helped turn a horrible situation to a vacation getaway.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
I am so sorry to hear about your A/C! I'm glad our staff and amenities were able to make your impromptu staycation the best it could have been! We hope to see you back soon, but of course under much better circumstances! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"house keeping"

Marjorie C, muskegon, United States 29/06/2016

there was a pile of dirty towels on the bathroom floor that were never picked up by house cleaning, this is totally unacceptable. Each room should be double checked before the staff leave to clean the next room

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Marjorie, I am so very sorry for this incident. I will pass this on to the housekeeping staff and ensure they utilize this as a learning opportunity. Please let us know if you are going to be back in the area or staying with us again and we will be sure to make it right. Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Great stay close to Mesa/Gateway Airport"

vacationer2013432, Marana, Arizona 29/06/2016

Room was comfortable.Upon check in there were cookies on the counter and we were given a dinner an drink coupon. Good soup for dinner and a glass of wine was nice. The swimming pool was small but enjoyable. We took a 4:30 am shuttle to the airport which was on time and we were able to have coffee and muffins before we went. We were able to keep our car parked at the hotel for our 1 week trip away. Arriving back at the airport we just had to call the hotel and they came to the airport and brought us back to our car.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're happy that you were able to arrive at the airport and still have a tasty breakfast! We hope you come back soon! Kristina Haney Sales Manager

Guylene L, Victorville, California 29/06/2016

Average stay. I stayed in many many Best Western's and for the price expected a little better breakfast selection. I also told them numerous times that I had a rewards card. No one seemed to care. The rewards system is VERY confusing.

Kristina H, Manager at Best Western Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
I am very sorry for your experience. We will discuss with the front office staff on the importance of recognizing our Best Western Rewards members and ensure they are educated on it. Please let us know if you are going to be back in the area as I hope you will give us another chance to make your second stay better. Kristina Haney Sales Manager

"Great Hotel and Location for Travel"

User 27/06/2016

Perfect location for travelling out of Mesa Gateway -- this hotel offers shuttle to/from airport, and offers shuttles to dinner, shopping, etc. Breakfast is included, as is dinner and a drink. the price is great in the summer, but we have also stayed over holidays and we love it.

"Great amenities at a low price"

sunny53597, Waunakee, Wisconsin 25/06/2016

We paid $65 night + tax. Free shuttle to airport, free hot breakfast, free dinner (not fancy - sloppy joe, chili, burgers), free cocktail, fitness center, coin-op laundry, free coffee and juice all day long, free parking. The rooms are clean and comfortable, not fancy. I thought it was an amazing value. I did not buy any meals on this trip. We were here to close on a house,( not a vacation) so, we were trying to economize. I would highly recommend this hotel esp.if you have kids. Super convenient!

"awesome stay!"

Toya T, Arizona, United States 25/06/2016

This is the perfect place for a quick couples get a way. The staff is kind and attentive. The room was cozy, clean and large. The beds here make you want to stay longer. I enjoyed every thing from the pool, the lounge and the complimentary breakfast. We will be back! Thank you Best Western?

"Very Clean"

User 21/06/2016

This was a convenient and very clean hotel. Convenient to freeway with easy access. The only negative for us was we did not have much water pressure for the shower. Otherwise, we would defininitely stay there again.

"Baseball Tournament"

Slacker4, Abq 16/06/2016

When I found out the resort my grandson's team was staying at was an hour from the amazing baseball fields in Gilbert, Az. I changed to Best Western. It was the best move. I could see all the fields from my room. The rates were lower than the "group" rates, included breakfast which the team hotel didn't, and even included dinner two of the nights. The room was clean, one night the neighbors were loud, but they left. The rest of the stay was quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

"Love Hotel"

Elaine K, yuma, United States 09/06/2016

Would stay there again, meet all my needs. Room needed to be cleaned better. There was a lot of dust behind the night stand and bottom of walls. Staff was great, helped with all needs and issue. Went for a softball tournament.

"Convenient to Mesa airport and east Phoenix suburbs"

Waltfr, Waxahachie, Texas 04/06/2016

Clean, friendly staff. Manager's wine reception on night of arrival and COOKIES! Best chioice for me because proximity of my daughters home. Was a little noisy the Friday and Saturday night of our visit because of a Lacrosse tournament being held locally.

"Just ok..."

Annonnowhere, nowhere 03/06/2016

My mom and I booked 2 separate rooms within minutes of each other on hotels dot com and BOTH of us noted that we'd like to be next to the other. This was booked a MONTH in advance. Sadly, when we arrived that evening to check in (me with my 4 kids and she had my dad and brother) We were no where near each other. She had also requested not to be in a handicap room and that's EXACTLY where they put her. The girl checking us in was not very friendly and when I called later (at 10:05) to find out when the pool closed she practically hung up on me. Pool was supposed to close at 10 but we had a pool view room and could hear people talking until after 11. I had to turn a white noise app on my phone so my kids could go to sleep. Nothing was done after I called at 10:05. The people weren't being loud, but every word carried and we could hear full conversation and laughing. The room was ok. The temp was hard to get right. Sheets and towels were all various shades of tan, which I thought was strange. Bathroom had pink scum in the grout and dirt in the sink. Shower had very little water pressure. Carpet gave the toddler black feet. Bring flip flops. Beds were ok, pretty firm but not awful. Sheets were scratchy and pillows were very lumpy. Breakfast was just ok. Usual continental faire. When I asked about the "gluten free" options that were advertised on a sign, they brought my daughter cheerios. Overall, it was just average. We've stayed at worse and we've stayed at far better. It's amazing though how the front desk is your first impression and she really soured it for me.

"Close to airport"

Susan D, Central City, Iowa 18/05/2016

We booked the room because it was close to the airport and had a shuttle. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The outdoor hot tub was one of the best we had used in quite awhile. They served soup and bread in the evening along with cookies. Cold breakfast was set up at 4:30 am with the hot breakfast at 6:00. We had to leave before 6:00 but the rolls and coffee were good. It only took us about five minutes to get to the Mesa airport.

"Noisy Location/Rooms"

PackFan320, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 16/05/2016

Although the rooms are clean and nice, I found this hotel to be extremely noisy. My room was facing Power Road and the traffic was very noisy even at night. The other thing was that I could hear the people in the room next to me talking.... and it wasn't even an adjoining room. They came in at 1 am in the morning and it was like they were in my room. I mentioned it when I checked out the next morning, and although the front desk person was very nice and said she could have moved me, I told them that packing up my room at 1 am was not going to happen. With other hotels in the area, I will not be going back to this location at all.

"wet floors"

80amkd, Elk Grove, California 19/04/2016

The floors were always being wet mopped during breakfast and check-out. Imagine eating and smelling bleached mop water. Also wet floors are a slipping hazard when you luggage.. The bed was king size but the bottom sheet was queen.

"Beware of the Stench"

StevenPZ, Fort Dodge, Iowa 17/04/2016

As others have commented, the farm/manure smell is very real and overwhelming. It's truly gag inducing. If you run the air conditioning it draws more if it into your room. There is no escaping it and made sleeping difficult. It's too bad because it's otherwise a nice hotel.

"Quiet "

Rob M, Wellington, Colorado 16/04/2016

Stayed in April for a few days. Somewhat out in the open yet close to the traffic. Breakfast is free, simple yet decent. Rooms are livable, beds somewhat hard, but again somewhat soft. Not the best hotel in Arizona, but clearly not the worst.

"Very Nice"

User 12/04/2016

Hotel was great! Room was huge, staff was very attentive and friendly. Outdoor pool was nice. We had to leave before breakfast hours, but they still had cold breakfast available, even at 4am. I did not notice any smell near the hotel that others have complained about. The only downside of the place, is that the parking lot is small, and it is on a pretty busy road. Overall, had a great stay, and would definitely reccommend.

"A lot of little perks, good stay"

Cheryal, Globe, Arizona 11/04/2016

Stayed one night here recently, the property is located in the rural area of Mesa. It was nice to see the cows next door. What I didn't expect was the free dinner (minestrone soup which was pretty good and focaccia bread which might have been a little stale). And I appreciated the free drink from the bar (draft or wine). The fresh cookies at the desk were also appreciated. Our room was spacious, but the view was limited, just three feet away was the wall of another section of the building, but we were not there for vacation so it didn't matter. Thankfully the airconditioning ran without a hitch, and the bathroom amenities were all there. However, the lighting in the bathroom was pretty dim but manageable. They do have a pool and jacuzzi which we didn't get to use, and a free hot breakfast which we didn't get to use because of a very early departure. The only distraction for me was the dark carpeting. Behind our door was dust bunnies and debris which was obvious. Unfortunately from then on I saw all the carpet edging everywhere. I know that vacuums don't reach the edge and have no doubt that housekeeping runs them all the time, but once I saw the edges my eyes were stuck. The staff we encountered were great, and all in all we enjoyed our stay here for one night.

User 07/04/2016

The staff was fantastic! The room and surroundings were also excellent. I have absolutely NOTHING bad to say about my experience at this Best Western location. I always TRY to stay at a Best Western because the rooms and service are reliable. This location is no exception to (my) rule.

"Couldn't be any better!!!"

Adamal17, Kentucky 01/04/2016

I can't think of anything that could have been better about this hotel!!! My room was HUGE, clean and nicely furnished with a great little fridge, microwave and the rest of the standard items. In addition to free continental breakfast, they provide a free dinner every night with free tap or bottled beer and wine!!! The pool faces west so you get sun all the way till sunset. The staff was amazingly friendly...a guy got wasted drunk and threw up in the pool so they asked him to leave the pool, and of course he was quite argumentative, but the manager that was escorting him did an incredible job of calming him down and even carried all his stuff (two coolers and more) for him as he walked him back to his room. The front desk was remarkably friendly, and when my flight landed at the nearby airport (Phoenix-Mesa Gateway), I called them to ask for a shuttle pick up, and before I even hung up the phone the driver was pulling up at the curb. Even the housekeepers were awesome and friendly. It's located kitty-corner from a Circle K that is pretty large with a great selection and a Red Box, and within a mile there's shopping of all sorts including a Target, Fry's, Walmart and plenty of restaurants, all of which are reachable by bus, and there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Holy WOW I was BEYOND satisfied with this place!!!

"Vacuum - anyone?"

James O, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 01/04/2016

Usually we stay at a Comfort Inn but decided to staty at BW+ due to promo offer. We were sorry. Our room in this motel needed vacuuming....badly...as did the hall. Otherwise it would have been a good experience.

"Don't expect much"

Marci L, Logan, United States 01/04/2016

Hotel looked nice, staff was not friendly, seemed too busy to even check us in. Room was not cleaned well and not cleaned at all the 2nd day. Bathroom looked clean, but did not smell clean. Floor needed good scrubbing, fridge was not clean. Sour smell in room. Pool was nice, but getting towels was an issue and then knowing where to put them when finished. It is waaaayy out of town.

"No More"

OldNorCalGuy, Rancho Murieta 31/03/2016

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and there have been issues virtually every time. This time we finally had enough so we cancelled our last two days and won't be returning. We were supposed to be able to check in at 3:00 but when we tried to check in at 4:00 they said they had no rooms available. I tried again at 7:00 and was told the same thing. There were people stacked all over the lobby in the same situation. We finally were able to access our room at 8:30. In fairness, I was able to negotiate a partial refund the next morning with the manager. I'm not mad at anyone, but this is just one more problem in what seems as to be an endless array of issues at this hotel, so we will not be coming back.

"Nice place"

Mark T, Mesa, United States 18/03/2016

Nice hotel that isn't too far from the major highways, easy to get in and out of. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hot tub was very nice, used it three times during our week stay. Breakfast wasn't anything big but enough to get you started for the day. In the evenings had a free drink at the lounge which we were able to do three evenings.

"Nice hotel -- check in poor"

Lee M, Livonia, Michigan 16/03/2016

No problems with the hotel except tried to check in early and found room was not available yet. Asked when it might be ready and I was told check in was at 3. The clerk made no effort at all to check with housekeeping to see if we could get in early. I understand check in times but when we returned at 3 we had to wait nearly 40 minutes for our room to be ready. Not acceptable!

"Hotel Review"

Wendy T, Canada 15/03/2016

Excellent staff and all of the property was tidy and clean. We did experience noisy neighbors which was disappointing. Also the pool was located in the back of the hotel which didn't receive any morning sun. Location was easy access so that was nice!

"Not impressed"

User 14/03/2016

Room and hotel were nice and clean. Pool was not heated even though they said it was, pool area had 5 chairs and was very small. The placement location of the pool was horrible, it took almost until 1 pm to get sum. Our room every morning had Luke warm to cold water for the shower from 5 am until 100pm. Had no issues in the evening taking a shower. I complained to the front desk and she stated that they have heard this complaint before and would let her manager know again. So you guys know about a problem and still have not fixed it hmmmm.

"Close to Phx/Gateway Airport"

Edward T, Oakland, United States 10/03/2016

Best Western hit this building design out of the park. Really nice hotel with everything you need! Free shuttle service to the airport and anywhere within 5 miles. It has a refreshing pool, a wine and beer lounge that is transformed to the breakfast lounge with a lot of great choices that are served in the morning.

"Best Western Lecacy in Mesa"

User 07/03/2016

Worst hassle I've had in 40 years of staying in hotels from Europe to Costa Rica to US. They guaranteed rates, sent guarantee, and then overcharged us by 25% and couldn't figure out how to correct it after last night, this morning with the Gen Mgr and still not resolved They admit their error but can't figure out how to reverse Overcharges.

"Great room, great front desk service, but did not get wake up call"

Robin E, Cushing, United States 06/03/2016

Room was wonderful, front desk service impeccable. However I called the front desk to get a 4:45 am wake up call to make the airport in time and did not get the call. I had also set my alarm on my cell phone so we were up in time to make our flight.

Gina B, sierra vista, United States 29/02/2016

This BW was the best choice for me as it was the nicest hotel close to Schnepf's farm where the SCA Atenveldt War is held in Feb/Mar every year. I was unable to camp this year therefore BW to the rescue. The hotel is a bit pricey but very nice with a frig and microwave as well as a nice breakfast every morning. The staff is friendly and helpful and parking is good. Only 12 miles form site with two Wal-marts between.

"The smell of the room was horrible"

Michael L, Pasco, United States 26/02/2016

This room smelled horrible. An employee sprayed something around the room to mask the smell but even he said it still smelled when he left. He left his bottle of spray with us so we could use it if we wanted. We did spray some more but the spray did not overcome the horrible smell. It smelled like the toilet had overflowed or that someone had died in the room.

mbtraveller08, Manitoba 25/02/2016

Staying here as I write this and the smell inside the room is disgusting and I can't describe the stench outside. I have breathing problems and the smell coming in thru the air conditioner is not helping. Perhaps sleeping in the hallway might be an option...no vents there! Best Western couldn't pay me to stay here again

"Not worth the stay!"

Loretta D, Peoria, United States 22/02/2016

I liked this hotel because they offered "breakfast included". Bad choice!. They offered free dinner, but for a limited time. We were not there. A free glass of wine, but again, limited time when it was open. And the one I wanted, free breakfast....we were there but there was no food available...too many people eating. I'll stay somewhere else next time. I have 4 more long trips to make this year......we will not be staying at the BW!!

"The Smell can be really bad with the right conditions"

Mark O, Auburn, Indiana 21/02/2016

I stayed at the hotel because it was near the hotel. But shortly after checking in I started to notice a weird smell in the room. I thought that it was like the smell of urine. I called down to the desk to ask for someone to come up and smell my heater vent and that's when I was told about the farm in the area. I didn't notice it when I checked in whether the breeze changed or not. When I woke up in the morning and went to check out at 5:30 am I couldn't hardly breeze outside it was so bad. The young lady went on to say it's always worse when it's colder outside. The hotel is close to the airport but I can honestly say that I'll try to stay somewhere further away.

"Quick stay"

PhaedraJ, Phoenix, Arizona 21/02/2016

My mother and I stayed one night at this hotel. The staff was very helpful. Dinner and breakfast were adequate. Very clean room and beds were good. The only thing that marred our stay was the noise from surrounding rooms. Not happy to be awakened early on the morning we had planned to sleep in by the sounds of people talking and moving around in the rooms around us.

"The other reviews are correct on the smell!"

User 19/02/2016

We were here with a big group for a hockey tournament. The other reviews are correct...there is apparently a dairy farm nearby, and every night we had a horrible concentrated smell of cow manure. Rooms were OK, but it was noisy. Staff was also not very accommodating.

"Needs improvement"

Annie S, Kalispell, Montana 15/02/2016

Hot water was not consistent, had to hurry to take a shower before water went cold. The "free dinner" was poor quality. Either provide a better a better tasting meal or lower rates. We've stayed here before when the rates were lower and no meal and was fine with that,

Vickey B, Murphy, Texas 13/02/2016

The room was large, good pillows, bed good, clean, but heard noises from surrounding rooms. During the night it sounded like a herd of elephants were running in the halls and rooms. Definitely will not stay here again.

"Nice hotel but dairy next door STINKS"

peeter62, Avondale, Arizona 10/02/2016

We pulled up to the hotel after a long day and were greeted by a an extremely powerful smell of concentrated cow urine and manure. From the parking lot I looked through the chain link fence and there was a pretty good sized dairy right there. The hotel isn't just near a dairy, it's practically in a dairy. I have nothing against the fine, hard working folks who rundairies, but who would build a hotel next door to one?. P. U. The room was comfy and clean but the dairy smell was blowing in through the AC. I haven't checked out the rest of the hotel so I can't comment on that.. The only negative I can say is the dairy smell. I'm so tired I'll just ignore it and fall asleep. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here again.

"Phoenix TRIP"

Terry S, Portland, OR, United States 02/02/2016

The hotel was nice and located near our friends. The only problem with the hotel is the water pressure and very little hot water. Had to take several cold to lukewarm showers. Reported to front desk and it didn't improve until the morning of day 5, when we were departing.

"It Smells!!!"

GardenLady1234, Bemidji, Minnesota 29/01/2016

Front desk staff were quite rude upon checking in. When we get to our room, A/C doesn't work. We were told when we called front desk that someone would be right up....no one showed. Worst part is that the place is next to a mega dairy farm. The whole place REEKS of manure. I cannot believe that this is not mentioned in all the other reviews. Ugh. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay here.

"Excellent Experience"

John S, St. Johns, United States 29/01/2016

This facility was phenomenal - great service, cleanliness, amenities, appearance and style. Nice lounge, pool, evening snacks and breakfast. Easy access to nearby shopping and necessities and great parking.

"Needs updating of decor"

gcd1937, Derby, K 29/01/2016

This property has a lot of potential. Very convenient for guests arriving/leaving the Mesa Gateway airport. Good shopping and excellent restaurants nearby. Hotel decor is very plain and unattractive. Pool area is nice. Breakfasts are just O.K. Evening dinner items were excellent and beverages offered were very good.

"Very nice stay out in East Mesa"

alanteam, Phoenix, Arizona 27/01/2016

This Best Western shines among the hotels I have stayed in this chain. It's waaay on the east side of Mesa. We were out there for a drum corps rehearsal camp weekend, and this was the closest place to stay. There's another Best Western in Apache Junction which is further east. This hotel is near the Phoenix-Mesa airport which I intend to use someday. It flies non-stop to smaller cities and less chaotic than PHX. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. We had no issues with the Legacy Inn and that's a bonus. I rested very well here as I have trouble falling asleep in hotels. I wish we could have spent more time in the room, but we were off volunteering from early morning to late at night. I felt safe parking in the lot; it is well-lit and access to the rooms is indoors. I hope to stay here again.

Silas K, Lester, United States 25/01/2016

This Best Western is the place to stay. Clean, friendly staff, went out of their way to provide for our comfort. Has free shuttle to airport and provides breakfast to go if you leave early. Grounds are well kept and it was quiet yet a big mall was close by that we visited.

"OOOOH That Smell Absolutely rediculous!!!!!!"

This place is aweful!!!!!Period and the lack of hospitality starts at the top with the owners. We checked in around 9pm with our entire hockey team the smell was terrible. We asked the front desk agent about the smell and she seemed not to want to be bothered with it. We proceeded to order pizzas and food for the team as we had been on the road for 12hrs. Upon arrival of the food we proceeded to what appeared to be the lounge breakfast area and was shortly there after told that area was closed and we needed to move. They made no suggestion as where to move we also had brought in our own alcohol and nothing was said until the next morning when we were informed we could not have any alcohol at all in the hotel as their liquor license would be in jeopardy. Completely understandable but why were we not informed of this the night before. Preston was the shining star of the stay. He was very helpful however it was obvious from his responses to certain questions that he has not been trained properly on how to answer certain questions when approached by guests ie: that ridiculous smell. "Oh we are just used to it" Not a good answer. The rooms appeared tidy however the TV's are ridiculous and the walls are paper thin. I listened to someone snore all night from another room. you can hear people in the bathrooms up stairs, not pleasant The breakfast was a joke selection minimal and the sausage gravy was water both mornings. Granted we checked in with our hockey team (14 12yr olds) I understand that the kids can be rowdy but what did you think was coming when you booked our hockey team and 2 other hockey teams also. You guys threatened to call the police on 5 12yr olds really? The fact that call the police even came out of any staff members mouth is ridiculous. No one was doing anything to the level that would require the police. Needless to say once again I say it starts at the top with the owner we spoke to. Being a good ol boy is not hospitality especially when you are paying the prices we were paying. After 2 nights we left along with the other 2 hockey teams. We relocated to the Residence Inn they honored the rate we were paying. The staff was fabulous the moment we walked in, the property was amazing, and I highly suggest that if the Best Western is serious about Hospitality and making there guests truly happy that upper management take a field trip to the Residence Inn for the weekend and take some serious notes. The way we were treated was absolutely unacceptable and if I can save anyone from having to deal with that smell please take heed!!!

Easy to access. Clean. Nice large shower and tub. Plenty of thick towels. Room AC/ Heat pretty noisy. No channel guide on TV control to make it easier to find news. Liked the mini fridge and microwave set up. Liked the access to the room was from the inside and the covered awning out front.

"Free shuttle to the Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona"

MovinOn2, Iowa City, Iowa 26/11/2015

The Best Western Legacy Motel in Mesa, Arizona is located on the southeast corner of Mesa (or Gilbert ?), Arizona - near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. They have a free shuttle to and from the airport and that is the big reason to stay here. I dropped off my car and took an Uber ride to this hotel because I had a flight back home the next day on Allegiant Air. The check-in staff was helpful but not personable -- doing their job but not enjoying it. The room was clean and comfortable - and there was a microwave and a refrigerator. The free WiFi was speedy and reliable. The check-in staff gave me slips of paper for a free drink and a free "dinner" - at 5:30 to 7 PM. Since I didn't have a car any more and there were no restaurants next door, it sounded great. Somehow 5:30 turned into 6:30 and I finally got a glass of wine. Dinner was a kind of spooky-looking pasta casserole ... I still had a microwave popcorn in my suitcase (emergency) and that was my dinner. Breakfast was much better. I had a mid-afternoon flight - and an important college football game to watch at 10 AM local time. The hotel staff arranged to have the airport shuttle driver drop me off at a sports bar - and I watched my team on ESPN. They gave me the hotel phone number and when I called the shuttle driver picked me up at the sports bar and took me to the airport. It made for a perfect day - especially because my team won. So - this is an excellent place to stay if you are flying. if your are not flying, it's remote, isolated, and expensive. There are better choices if you don't need the shuttle service.

"Good hotel bad location"

Arlyn M, Colorado, United States 25/11/2015

Something about the location that creates a terrible odor in the hotel inside and out. The hotel in itself is fine otherwise. Staff was great accommodations were just okay because of bad TV's. I would suggest to my friends that they try a different hotel because of the odor.

Raina C, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello Arlyn M, Thank you for your recent review on our Legacy Inn property! I am glad to hear there were some good attributes to our hotel, but also unfortunate to hear about the downfalls of your stay. The general area of our hotel is located in a more rural area of Mesa, with nearby ranches and farms that are ran. Sometimes this smell does travel to its surrounding areas that you will experience in any part of this side of Mesa. I do apologize your experienced it and were sensitive to the smell. I will look into what we can do about our TV's being upgraded, and hopefully you will give us another chance and not experience the same odor you did this time around. Happy holiday season to you and yours!

"Convenience + cleanliness + courteous = good stay"

ReadyPackGo, Harrison, Arkansas 04/11/2015

Recently stayed at this property 2 nights - day we flew in to Mesa and the night before we flew out. It is very convenient to the airport (2 miles?) and several restaurants as well as a gas station to fill up rental car before returning. Front desk is courteous and helpful and I thought it kind that they not only provide breakfast but also a glass of wine/beer in the evenings. They also were providing a simple dinner (sloppy joes, coleslaw) if we wanted to partake. We chose to go to Applebee's but it was a nice gesture. I would have rated it as excellent except for 2 things; we were given a handicapped room both nights (not enough counter space) and there was an odor from a nearby farm. For some reason, the smell was noticeable in the evening but not the morning. I didn't find it to be truly obnoxious just a little unpleasant. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel in the future.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear ReadyPackGo, Thank you so very much for your kind and positive review! Our location is very conveniently located to Mesa Gateway Airport and we are glad you were able to use our accommodations to make your traveling made simple! We value our breakfast presentation and our dinner is something we recently introduced so we are glad for the positive feedback! Next time maybe you will join us for a yummy bite and social conversation over your glass of beer or wine! I apologize for the inconvenience of the handicap amenities in your room. I am not sure where the miscommunication on room type was, but please contact the front desk next time your room type is not up to par for you. Sometimes the odor from the nearby farm does wander our way, but we do our best to keep the hotel smelling fresh and clean as it usual does. Thank you again! We hope to see you back with us very soon for your next flight out of Mesa!

This property close to Mesa Gateway Airport, and was surprisingly a very nice property. The property is clean and beautiful, very inviting to its guests as they have free evening dinners, and the some breakfast items are available as early as 4:30 a.m. I would highly recommend visiting this property any time you need to catch an early flight out of Mesa's airport.

We like! This is a very comfortable, clean and friendly hotel. Close to the highway and several restaurants. We've used this Best Western hotel many times and have never been disappointed. We will continue to use this as our go to hotel while in Mesa and refer our friends and family. The pool and hot tub are nice and clean. The fitness center is clean and well kept but, a bit small. Our service dog is always welcome.

"Could have been better"

Alicia G, Salem, Oregon 14/10/2015

I will start by saying that this hotel looks nice but we had some issues while staying there. The main problem that I had with this hotel was the smell. It is close to some dairies and it smells like it. There were a couple of nights where we couldn't turn our a/c on because it would make our room smell like cow manure. The other thing that I was not happy with was the quality of our cable in our room. The picture was really fuzzy, I felt like I needed some rabbit ears to try and get better reception. I called down to the front desk the first night and they said that they would have someone fix it in the morning. That never happened. On the second night we were there the room next door had an alarm go off at about 12:30am. It kept going off and I don't think anyone was staying in that room. We called the front desk and after a while they came up and turned it off. Overall this was not a great stay I would not stay here again.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello Alicia G, Thank you for your constructive criticism in regards to your stay with us. As we always strive to give the best comfort along with top notch service, it is with regret that we did not meet your standards. Our location is out towards a rural area, and there is a dairy farm nearby. While to some people they do not even notice the smell, sometimes it does effect the senses of others and I apologize that occurred for you. It is with my deepest apologies we did not meet and exceed your expectations. We would love the chance to win you back over and have you be a loyal member of our property. Please reach out to me at 480-457-8181 if we could further speak of your experience. We talk your feedback very seriously and appreciate you taking the time to let us know where we can improve.

"Don't stay"

Mark V, Bagdad, United States 14/10/2015

Key to rooms would not work ! Tried multiple time to get the keys to work in the room with no success. Room service finally had to let me into the room. No room at the hotel for me to park for my trip even though there were lots of space open.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear Mark V, Thank you for taking the time to review our property, even with the negative response it gives us a chance to improve where we need to. I deeply apologize for your inconveience with the keys. Sometimes those magnet strips can be a little finicky. We do strive to keep our property in top notch condition, and I wish that would have reflected in your stay. Please contact me directly if we can further discuss your stay. We would love the opportunity to show you what we are really have to offer and win you back. Thank you for your time and have a great day!

Glenn K, Tucson, Arizona 08/10/2015

No blankets?? How does a major hotel chain not have ANY extra blankets? The thin blanket on the bed, and no bedspread meant a call to the front desk, which said they had no more blankets. Shocking finish to an otherwise nice stay. , combined with the

"Very Nice"

Donna S, Nanaimo, Canada 01/10/2015

had an early flight so stayed overnight at the BW Legacy Inn near the airport. Was a very nice room for the price. Staff were friendly. The only complaint I would have is the shuttle service to the airport. Booked it for a 5:30 am departure and there was barely room for us as they overbooked that time. Driver went thru a red light which was a bit scary. They should have a bigger bus to accomodate, other than that it was good.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear Donna S, Thank you for taking the time to review your most recent stay with us, we greatly appreciate it! We're sorry to hear that the shuttle was a little crowded for your departure, we will do our best to schedule airport transportation better for the future so there's enough room to accommodate our guests comfortably. "Great hotel at great location!"

begsmom, Culbertson, Nebraska 29/09/2015

We were flying out of the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport and spent the night prior to our flight at this hotel. We were traveling with children and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We were able to return our rental car the night before our flight and the hotel provided a free shuttle. The room was clean and comfortable and the pool was great! Our flight was an early one, but the free breakfast offerings were already available at 4:30 a.m., which was wonderful!

Dear begsmom, Thanks so much for your wonderful 5 star review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to accommoating you in the future! Warm Regards, Jennifer Bruce Sales Manager

"Good overnighter for Mesa-Gateway Airport"

TucNav, The Old Pueblo - Tucson, AZ 28/09/2015

The staff was very friendly, the room was large, clean and quiet. Although the hotel is a bit isolated, it's only a couple of minutes to shopping and restaurants. Five minutes from the Mesa-Gateway airport and right off the 202. The only complaint concerned the staff operating the bar and manager's reception. They didn't appear to be familiar with the menu items or what was available at the bar. Minor problem considering the first two drinks were free! I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear TucNav, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit with us, we appreciate it! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay - especially our new evening reception! Please visit us again anytime! :) All the best, Jennifer Bruce Sales Manager

"Very Nice Hotel"

hurricanemama, Marysville, Ohio 27/09/2015

This was a pleasant surprise in Mesa. We stayed in room with 2 queen beds which were very comfortable and good pillows too. Room was very clean as was bathroom. Very nice arm chair to relax and watch TV. Breakfast was great with good choices and biscuits with sausage gravy - very few hotels have that - definite plus for a former WV resident that grew used to biscuits with gravy in the morning!! The only negative was very loud neighbors on the floor above us, which is not fault of hotel. Definitely would stay again - just not on first floor.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Dear hurricanemama, Thank you soo much for your review and for being our guest! We're glad you found our beds and pillows to be comfortable and we're happy that you enjoyed our biscuits and gravy for breakfast :). We're sorry to hear that the guests above you were loud, if that ever happens in the future, please do not hesitate to call the front desk to resolve the issue. Thanks again and have a wonderful day! :) Jennifer Bruce Sales Manager

"Quiet and close to Gateway Airport"

MOHomebody, Springfield, MO 21/09/2015

This is a very pleasant hotel. Its not in a real busy area but yet restaurants, shopping, etc. are very close. Being from the country, we appreciated the view out our window of an open field plus the mountains. Since the area does have a rural feel it is also very quiet. The room we stayed in was nice sized, clean, with a microwave and mini-frig. The bed was comfortable. The only negative we have about it is that the air conditioner wasn't working properly. It wasn't bad enough to go to the trouble of changing rooms but it did get a little stuffy. We mentioned it to the front desk when we checked out so hopefully they will make sure it gets fixed or replaced. The free breakfast is good. We plan to stay at this hotel when we are in the area again in January.

Jennifer B, Sales Manager at BEST WESTERN Legacy Inn & Suites, responded to this review
