« Kenwick Park Spa Day »

Fantastic - definitely money well spent. Totally relaxing, wonderful venue, would highly recommend. Only £65 for day including all facilities, afternoon tea & a one hour treatment. Will definitely be going again

    « Short stay »

Enjoyed our two night break through tesco clubcard. Booked superior room which was huge with lovely views, room 305. Free use of spa next door was an excellent bonus. Food acceptable for 3 star hotel but not exceptional.

« overnight spa lodge break »

Spa and treatments first class, afternoon tea sandwiches a little dry but we did arrive a few minutes late. Lodge was lovely but unfortunately not very well cleaned. Extremely dusty in places, behind furniture and walls and dining table, which we hadnt even used, as we ate in the restaurant, looked liked someone had eaten their dinner off it, so clearly not cleaned. Well stocked though and plenty of clean bedding and towels. We had an unfortunate visitor which we left under a glass on the bathroom floor, a large spider, but we did tell reception so as not to surprise and cleaners scared of them. Food was very nice we had evening meal and breakfast.

« Excellent Friday night tapas meal »

Went to the new tapas Friday night special with bottle of wine. Excellent service. Breads and dips starter then six tapas dishes. I found the meatballs dish too spicy but my wife liked them. Overall excellent quality and value. Will go again.

« Family day at the spa »

I went with two of my daughter's yesterday.5.18 and had a truly memorable day. We were greeted by a delightful young lady, she made us really feel welcomed. The facilities at the spa are excellent , went to the gym first and I was amazed just how much equipment there was ,and how many activities we're on offer!! it was truly amazing. We then explored the swimming pool area this too was truly wonderfull we spent nearly all our time in here there's so much to see and do,I was also struck by the cleanliness of every area, the staff were VERY friendly and helpful in all a truly wonderful place to be.This was my first-time visit, but I will most definitely be BACK.we did not stay at the hotel it was a day out

    « Lovely location »

Stayed here for 1 night on business- hotel is located in lovely grounds with plenty of parking. Room was spacious and clean with lovely linen and a comfy bed and pillows. WiFi was a bit hit and miss but manageable. Would stay here again good price via booking.com that included breakfast.

    « Brilliant wedding »

My Nephew got married here last Saturday. What a wonderful day, his family stayed in the cabins within the grounds. Had the reception here all afternoon and evening. The food was excellent, disco in the evening with extra nibbles. Sweet stand and dressing up photo booth. Fun had by all. If you want to push the boat out and are lucky with the weather like they were then you could not wish for a better place. Plenty of room and still residents had there own space. Golf for the serious people, plenty of room to walk around the grounds. So if you want a weekend away, special occasion or the bidders event in your life then look no further.

    « Lovely hotel »

Stayed for 3 nights, was a lovely room and the spa is great. Bed was very comfortable, room service good although slightly pricey, breakfast in the morning is nice and all staff encountered were very good. Enjoyed my stay.

    « Spacious room »

The beautiful weather and well kept grounds definitely enhanced my three night stay. Was due to stay longer but they were full up from the Wednesday. Can only be a good sign I guess. Was given a beautiful room with loads of space, sitting area as well as comfy large bed with large flat screen tv etc. Breakfast in the morning is often quite slow. Find myself waiting for plates etc. Also lacks a little atmosphere at times with no background music etc. Got served some beautiful soup and salads. It's my hotel of choice in the area due to the fantastic leisure facility that offers great fitness classes.

    « Birthday break »

I was most impressed with this hotel. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed.The hotel throughout was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent with the hottest buffet cooked breakfast I have experienced. The evening meals were of a high quality at a reasonable price with a decent choice of reasonably priced wines, the service was faultless.Allthe staff we encountered were efficient, helpful and friendly. The gym spa and swimming pool looked excellent, although we did not use them.I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

    « Perfect for relaxing »

Hotel is perfect for relaxation. Set in lovely surroundings and beautiful views. The staff really go out of their way to be helpful. Good choice of food on menu. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Would give more than 5 stars if I could

    « Nice food....not much atmosphere »

Firstly I have to say our meals were good and the menu offered a decent selection of meals. The young members of staff were very polite and one young waiter in particular was very funny and also very attentive, as were the young ladies who served us. We have a huge thumbs down for the tall bald headed man...possibly the head waiter..(who doesn't earn the title gentleman) as we witnessed him giving one of the young waitresses a very quiet but very obvious telling off in the middle of the dining room...what ever the problem was, he should have done that out of the room...he left her looking a bit shaken and embarrassed....credit to her she took a moment and then carried on with a smile on her face. Wouldnt rush back.

    « Weekend visit »

Visited the complex this weekend with family and friends for a family members hen do. We were overall very pleased with our stay (the lodges are stunning) however a few little things weren't up to standard. The steam room was closed at the spa and half way through the day the jacuzzi and ice room were shut too. The treatments were lovely and the spa staff were very friendly. Afternoon tea was amazing and well presented. The staff that served our evening meal appeared to be untrained as they were unsure where they were taking the food and were shoddy at clearing tables. Who I presumed to be the manager was no help in guiding the servers. The food was average standard and small portions with no veg served as extras. The beef was undercooked too. Although the lodges were stunning we woke to no hot water which meant we couldn't shower. I would like to return to the spa but probably wouldn't eat in the hotel restaurant.

    « a very comfortable hotel »

We stayed for the first time in january for 3 nights I am disabled so got room 106 with walk in shower wide door etc on ground floor-but-several yards from main entrance if you push your own wheelchair. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spotless and of a high standard large room with double bed and king size bed. Very important for me the room was nice and warm throughout our stay-unlike a local hotel same price-sub zero!! You can help yourself at breakfast and or waiter service everything was nice and hot if required lovely view from the breakfast room. Massive gym and pool all part of the package. Cheapest price? book through the Bestwestern web site.

    « Snowy trip »

Hotel is set in very nice surroundings well away from the main road. Nice friendly staff, made to feel welcome. Variety of rooms and reasonably priced, stayed in a standard room, not too bad but room was cold and no radiator in the bathroom. My room was above the kitchens and was noisy in the morning from around 6am. Menu is pretty small but food is of a good standard. There are Leisure facilities at the hotel but didn't use them. Enjoyed the stay and would use again.

    « Spa day »

My friend and I had our first visit to kenwick spa last week and we both had a very relaxing day, the treatments we had were excellent. The place was very clean and the food was ok. Will definitely be booking to go again very soon.

« Verydisappointed spa treatment ,sandwiches in the bar ok »

Visited for a pedicure .we arrived early so had a sandwich in the hotel which was fine and a coffee .Pedicure was non existent just a light file lasting 5minutes then sent to the treatment room . Beautician saidshe was sorry but it was her lunch hour ..Very disappointing .shame as facilities look very good

    « 2 night stau »

Stayed with family for a funeral. Shared twin room 103 with my sister in law. Lovely room with patio doors onto lawn overlooking the Spa. Room was lovely with super comfy beds. Visited both spa and gym and found it very well equipped and super clean. Dinner in the restaurant on Thursday was lovely with very attentive staff. Can not fault at all and would certainly visit again

    4
    « Visited in Jan 18 »

Loverly grounds which is great when you drive in, on my visit it was one of the coldest days but would have loved to have had a walk. Evening meal was well served and taste, staff very helpful. Gym and pool with plenty of car parking space , town a couple mile away .

    3
    « Disappointed »

Firstly I have to say our room although a little dated was clean and comfy. We had a dog friendly room which was ground floor with easy outside access. However our evening meal was a disappointment. My husband being vegetarian had limited choice. His soup arrived cold and had to be sent back. My main meal although clearly stating roast potatoes had pre boiled new potatoes which had been rolled in olive oil and put in the oven for a few minutes. Needless to say they tasted acidic and musty. However when I pointed this out to the staff they came back to say chef was happy that they were roast. My menu also said roasted root vegetables (plural) all I had were 4 strips of carrots which again I would say were not roasted. So although we would stay again because of the spa we would definitely not eat here again. The spa is amazing and well worth a visit. However the treatments are a real rip off! I should know I run my own therapy business of 10 years. Our 45 min and 70 min treatments were concluded over 15 minutes early and were very shoddy to say the least. There was no choice of oil like it says in the brochure no asking if the pressure was ok or if we would like certain areas concentrated on. We spent most of the time being lifting up and down on the electric tables so the therapists didn't have to bend over us or be in any danger of putting a bit of effort in. Honestly visit the spa and enjoy the facilities but save yourself money and disappointment on the treatments.

« Great place for a winter break »

Recently had a weekend stay as part of a friend's birthday celebrations. Our room was in the cottage annexe- lovely large room. Spotlessly clean, good bathroom and shower. Spa and swimming Poole facilities all go towards making this a great choice for a wet winter weekend break. Lovely breakfast served in the main hotel with an extensive choice- both buffet and cooked to order options. Evening meal was delicious and staff very friendly, would certainly recommend.

    « Overall good »

Over all a good stay, had spa treatment and used pool. I never ate in the hotel. I paid in full on arrival when checking out management on reception tried to charge me £159 per night. I know this was not correct, one I had the price online and checked on arrival if that was the best they could offer which it was after the young receptionist checked; so booked directly with reception, two it was January - not even city centre hotels are charging that amount this time of the year especially 3 stars, three the offer online carried a 10% discount for multiple night stays. Four no hotel would charge that price for a room which has not been decorated in 20 years. What is worrying is that she tried to change me it, I corrected her she told me it was a mistake on check in and it was £159 per night I offered to should her the advertised price which she didn't take me up on and brushed it off with no apology. I am a hotel manager, I know how the booking systems work and I don't believe that was a mistake on the system or from her

    « Visiting friends overnight »

Hotel is an old style country house with no lift in a beautiful setting with a recently built spa, only 5 mins drive from Louth. Staff generally friendly and helpful but I would not recommend staying here on a Saturday night. Several function rooms fully occupied meant it was very noisy and the chef decided to limit food to 3 choices in restaurant despite people like us having specifically checked A La Carte before booking. No prior notice given and staff didn't know the price or why. Late at night a sign was put up on reception to say if you didn't want to queue at breakfast come early! Bedroom and bathroom were spacious but dated and the mattress was very old and sunken, although a topper did help a little. Parking directly in front of hotel is limited and the long entrance road is quite dark so difficult to see direction signs. I would say it is just 3* if you don't want the spa.

    5
    « Perfect Hotel »

Stayed here for one night for business and will definitely stay again. Large very comfortable room. Excellent wifi connection. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom is dated, but spotlessly clean. Iron and Ironing board in the room - which is always a pus if on business. The restaurant offers a 3 course meal for a very reasonable price - have the chicken liver parfait.

« Wedding reception in the small room at short notice. »

Sadly let down by another establishment we need to seat some guests, mainly family, my boss and wife plus some long distance travellers. The menu choice was fantastic and the drinks good to go with it. A Pay after Bar was available and we had at least two members of staff looking after us. The room was just right and the atmosphere brilliant, thanks to the staff on the day, they went out of their way to make it all happen.; nothing was too much trouble. Parking facilities were good and the Red carpet had been rolled out. A nice way to spend time with folks and in comfort.

    « Friends spa break »

Booked a break away with a group of friends for one of our special birthdays. We stayed in a lodge. The setting is beautiful and on first look everywhere looked great; however on closer inspection the lodge was filthy. Huge cobwebs, crisps on the sofa, empty drinks bottle down side of bed. Not really acceptable. The spa itself was lovely, although, treatments felt rushed and the room was very cold. Food could not be faulted. Overall a pleasant stay

« One of the best »

I stayed at this hotel five or six years ago and it was a good average. I returned this week and it found it to be one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. The staff were welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful. The leisure centre has been transformed and re-built with world class facilities. The room clean, tidy and spacious. Brilliant grounds and tremendous, rolling views. Lovely little bar. Excellent breakfast, great breakfast room. Attentive staff. Was refreshed for the day ahead.

    « Noisy room »

This was my second stay due to working in the area, hotel lovely, staff friendly, pool and spa facilities wonderful, food very good, I can recommend the fish finger sandwich, both my stays the room was large, clean and the bed was comfortable, however I did find the room a bit cold on both occasions but I could cope with that. Unfortunately, my recent stay was in room 304 right above the reception area, I found it very noisy, could hear people talking, the phone ringing etc, that wasn't really a problem but I was woken at 3am with what sounded like furniture being moved around, I don't know what was going on but I wasn't happy, I struggled to get back to sleep. I told the receptionist when I checked out in the morning and all she said was 'I'm sorry'. I would have expected it to be reported to the manager. I will stay there again as its a lovely place and would recommend it, but not room 304.

    « Excellent venue »

We were staying in the log cabins behind the hotel but had arranged to have breakfast in the main hotel with the other guests for the wedding we were at. The breakfast was nice and plenty of choice too. Our day was to be set in the hotel with more drinks and then a meal. The room we were in was very nice and the food was excellent too . Bar was great and the whole day was really enjoyable thanks to the hotel and it's staff.

    4
    « Spacious room »

I was very happy with my short stay for business at the hotel. I was given a family room which meant I had lots of space. The decor was fresh and everything clean. Lovely crisp, white bedding, good tea and coffee facilities with biscuits and decent toiletries in large bathroom. I was I'll throughout my stay so didn't get to appreciate things fully. I did manage to get down for one beautiful meal of chicken breast with mushroom and spinach risotto. Excellent! The gym and pool were beckoning out of the window but I couldn't even consider. Having said that, I do know that the facilities are superb (having stayed in the lodges on this estate before). Would definitely return to this place set in beautiful grounds.

    « Spa break »

Stayed here 9/10th January 2018 after a most enjoyable day in the Spa with Daughter in law. The hotel is very nice. The room clean, bed comfortable. We called reception for an ice bucket and ice, and dressing gowns, which were brought immediately. The only downside in the room was the tea/coffee facilities........everything you need including kettle on a tray at one end of the ?dressing' table top.....but where to plug in the kettle? On searching under the top we found an extension socket at the other end. The only place the kettle cord would reach a plug, so had to put kettle there. Right underneath the wall mounted tv. How stupid is that? A boiling kettle under a tv! We ordered room service for evening meal which came at the time we requested. The following morning after washing hair found the hairdryer didn't work. Phoned reception, a replacement was brought to the room immediately. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was buffet style or order if require something different. Food was plentiful, well cooked. Tea and coffee pots brought to the table. Unfortunately tree surgeons were working outside our ground floor room first thing in the morning. Necessary, but not good alarm call. All in all a good stay. Would recommend.

« Friendly and welcoming country hotel »

I stayed two nights at Kenwick Park, being in need of some quiet time, and could not have chosen better. The hotel is in a rural setting, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, with a swimming pool and spa (steam room, jacuzzi, sauna, etc) which can be used by hotel guests. I dined in the restaurant one evening; the food was good and the staff very attentive. A number of single guests seem to stay so I didn't feel conspicuous dining alone, as can sometimes be the case. I will definitely be back!

    5
    « Superb »

We loved our trip away. The spa is amazing and dinner was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it! We went with a baby and an 11 year old and they loved it. Would go back again.

« Not my ideal Christmas meal! »

This year we decided we would eat our on Christmas day. Booked at Kenwick Park in October - dinner for 3 - confirmation arrived - dinner for 3 but only charged for 2. On pointing this out - there was no thank you but just an Oh these things happen and it does say 3! Does honesty always pay? The great day arrived and we were looking forward to our Christmas lunch in perhaps the conservatory which is lovely or even the dining room - but no it was in the Ballroom - high ceiling so noise soared up and then down. I guess there were upward of 150 guests eating. We had our starter and the wine I had chosen arrived - the waiter started to pour it in the water tumbler! Err no I don't think so when he tried to take it away - ah well. Then we had to leave our table and like school dinners we traipsed to where the main course was and served ourselves to this! Bland - my own fault for having turkey but it was bland. Carried on eating but then gave up having realised if I closed my eyes it would be difficult to distinguish just what I was eating. Having decided on cheese for the next course - looked forward to a nice creamy stilton or some such but no 3 triangles of plastic cheese with not the freshest grapes as they were going soft. Oh yes the cheese arrived without a knife then coffee afterwards arrived without spoons in the saucers. Not a problem for me or daughter as we don't use sugar but my husband does. The staff on the whole were very helpful and attentive and the girl who seemed to be in charge of the room worked tirelessly. I have had some lovely meals at Kenwick but this was certainly not one of them. Hm back home next Christmas.

« Lovely stay at Kenwick Park Hotel »

Stayed during Christmas while visiting relatives. It was very comfortable and I was made very welcome. A nice touch was the Christmas stocking at the door on Christmas morning. Lovely quiet location too.

    5
    « Christmas »

We spent Christmas at Kenwick Park and had a great time, little extras like the small fir tree cutting to take home and plant in the garden, and the Christmas stocking outside the room door on Christmas morning made it special. We started with afternoon tea on Christmas Eve and left after breakfast on the 27th. All the meals were excellent and the room (we upgraded to a Superior) was extremely comfortable. Staff were great, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to our next visit ??

    5
    « Excellent hotel with first-class leisure/fitness centre. »

We were extremely impressed with the wonderful facilities in the leisure/fitness centre- lovely 20m pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, steam room, sauna etc. All meals in the hotel were excellent too. There is a short walk outdoors between ther hotel and the leisure centre, which was OK for us although the weather was very cold, but would be a nuisance in wet weather. Whereas some hotels allow guests to use their pool once more after checkout, sadly this is not permitted here.

    4
    « Relaxing stay »

We stayed for 2 nights here and very much enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and on the ground floor. A little crowded with a king sized bed and a double too! Also a pleasant seating area in the bay window. Unusually the bathroom didn't have mixer taps so watch out for the hot water as it was very hot. Slightly dated decor. Breakfast was good and there are extra options for an additional cost. We ate in the restaurant on steak night and it was excellent value and tasty. The gym and pool area are superb. The grounds look well maintained but we didn't have time to explore them. We'd certainly return here.

    4
« Visit to the spa »

Went for a spa session this afternoon. Very relaxing and exclusive. I would recommend this for none visiting Lough. We did the 59£ half day session and for four hours it was expensive but worth it. The tea that was served was particularly excellent and I enjoyed my first snow ball drink!

    « FANTASTIC »

We recently had our wedding at Kenwick Park and i cannot say enough good things about it. The hotel is amazing, the staff are excellent especially Lisa and Lesley they couldn't have helped us enough, the food is lovely which everyone commented on especially the evening buffet. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and each night they gave us the bridal suite which is huge with the best view you could ask for, the surrounding area is amazing, we will definitely be visiting again and would recommend anyone to get married here. « Fantastic birthday weekend »

We booked 4 lodges for our 60th birthday weekend, one of which was the I lodge ultra. This lodge has everything you need for 10 people to stay in 5 bedrooms, plus it was big enough for 21 adults, 2 small children and a baby to party together. We made good use of the pool table,PlayStation, football table etc. The I lodge is next to a public footpath so we were able to blow away the cobwebs with a good long walk. An added extra is free use of the leisure facilities which are amazing. Our 8 week old granddaughter took her first dip in a swimming pool and our 2 year old grandson loved jumping in the pool. The adults loved the aromatherapy room, sauna etc. Donna Nook is only a 20 minute drive so we went to see the newborn seals. Friday night is fish night (fish or scampi and chips, choice of desserts and a bottle of wine for only £29.95 per couple) and we were lucky enough to be given a private dining room! Staff were lovely particularly Phyllis. Only critiscism the mattress in the master bedroom was past its best. Will be returning!

    « Tired old hotel...rooms ok...breakfast 4/10 »

Generally don't stay in best westerners...experience has always been average. Stayed here due to friend holding sixtieth birthday. Positives wi if ? Rooms and shower? Clean and warm ? Negatives Receptionist on the day matter of fact and frosty?? Tired interior?? Breakfast?? Coffee?? Service all over the place?? Running out of buffet items and not realising ?? Premier inns are your benchmark for all of the above this hotel falls short and at 85 is poor value for money.

« Very impressed with entire stay »

Stayed here with my fiancée on a package from spa breaks, we had 2 treatments, use of spa facilities, afternoon tea, 2 course evening meal, one night in a lodge and breakfast in the morning. Not one element let us down, firstly the spa facilities are great, new and modern. Secondly the afternoon tea was lovely, great quality and filled us both up. We had 1 treatment each and both were absolutely brilliant, the staff in the spa were especially good. The lodge we stayed in was fabulous, had all the amenities we could have hoped for, a PS2 even haha for some late night need for speed. My only negative about the cabin is the site is not very well lit so you literally are in darkness until the morning, and the lack of phone signal, but that's not the hotels fault. The 2 course evening meal in the hotel restaurant was fabulous and the staff great, this was mirrored in the breakfast we had in the morning, really good quality all round. We would happily stay here again and recommend to others.

    « Perfect ! »

Whenever we want guaranteed peace and quiet and a completely relaxing time we head to Kenwick Park. We had our usual room (306) overlooking the gardens and golf course and settled down to enjoy the extremely comfortable 4 poster and the large seating area complete with various tables , chairs and sofa. The ensuite bathroom is particularly luxurious with over sized shower cubicle and twin sinks . It is very relaxing looking out over the gardens watching the rabbits and squirrels on the lawns however the leisure suite beckons. The pool and various spa treatments are excellent but for us the outside spa pool is our favourite place to relax and listen to the birds and watch more rabbits . We had a delicious set fish meal with wine for £29.95 for two - it really was amazing and one of the best fish and chips I've ever had . The buffet breakfast is plentiful with a good selection on offer . All the staff are welcoming , friendly and helpful , special mention to Phyllis an asset to the hotel. We will be back soon.

    « Lodge Review - No 85 »

Booked here for 2 nights, for 6 of us staying through Hoseasons website. We stayed in Lodge No 85 - Kingfisher Lodge. This was allocated on arrival, there is no say in this. There was parking for 2-3 cars outside the lodge, which was ideal with a balcony on 2 sides. The lodge was beautiful, perfectly clean, well decorated, and with every utensil and item you could need. This also included ice in the freezer for drinks, which I thought was a great touch. Beds were comfy with fresh clean bedding and towels. We also used the Spa swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna etc, which was all included in the price. The spa treatments were totally booked out that weekend and I wish I had booked earlier as it looked lovely. The area is spacious, clean and quite, I would recommend these lodges to all, families, large groups, parties - it really was a wonderful stay

    4
    « pleasant & relaxing »

overall an enjoyable spa break, although the quality of the beds needs attention,( mine seemed to have a 'slope' to it on one side) as does the addition of vegetables to the main course on the set menu. On all 3 nights of my stay my main course was served without any vegetable accompaniment. Quality of food was excellent though and very friendly staff throughout. Impressive leisure centre, I would advise that you book any treatments in advance though, times were very limited at the time of my stay.

    « Weekend with friends »

Six of us meet up every few weeks and this was the hotel we chose to enable us to visit the seals at donna nook. An excellent experience all round, we had afternoon tea which was amazing and the spa was the best I have ever been to. The rooms were clean and spacious and the grounds were lovely. Breakfast was also excellent, we didn't have an evening meal there but the bar had an extremely good gin menu! I have to say that Phylis the waitress was amazing and remembered us all by name and ensured we were all looked after.

On arrival everything looked fantastic. The hotel is surrounded by parkland and a golf course and inside all looks plush and lovely. We then went up to our room. It was small in comparison to most other hotels we've been in, infact you have far more space in a Travel lodge. Whilst it was clean and had a reasonably sized bed it did not have a view over the park we expected, in fact it had no view whatsoever. The bottom half of the two large windows were covered in an opaque film or something similar and it was impossible to see out, giving the room the feel of a bathroom. When we opened one of the windows all we could see was what we believe to be the kitchen roof. There for our enjoyment was a very large area of flat roof with ventilation vents and extractor fans which we later found to be quite noisy. Now I will move on to the bathroom, it was a good size but in need of refurbishment. The bath itself had chips in the enamel near the drain hole, the shower was pathetic hardly any water and no pressure. Once you managed to get wet and lathered it took an age to rinse the soap off your body. The toilet seat was the cheapest white plastic type and very flimsy. A photograph of room 302 doesn't appear to have been included amongst the many room photos so I've included two in this review. My advice to anyone paying £126 per night and allocated this room would be to refuse it as I do not consider it worth the money. Having said all this I have to admit that the breakfast was really good and the service from the staff we came into contact with was polite and friendly.

    « October break »

Spent Monday - Friday in the I-lodge ultra with another family. Plenty of space for all 9 of us. Games room was a huge hit with all of us. Sauna was an added bonus- it's not mentioned on the hoseasons website as having one. Beautiful surroundings. My husband and son enjoyed a round of golf and the kids all enjoyed the tennis on site. The spa facilities were top class. Jane at the Spa reception was especially helpful and friendly, but all staff were professional and courteous. Have no idea why this hotel is only 3 stars- it is fantastic! If it wasn't such a long journey for us we'd be back often.

« Spa day with the besties »

Easy to find, well signposted. Easy parking. Very friendly & attentive staff. Beautiful surroundings & excellent facilities. Very high quality treatments. The calibre of the afternoon tea was outstanding & the waitress was very attentive & lovely, bringing us extra coffee & fruit juice. A superb experience which we will definitely be repeating! A bargain!

    « Spa break »

My wife and I went on a spa break at the Kenwick Park Hotel and enjoyed the experience. From arriving at the spa through to dinner in the hotel, everything went excellently. The room was spacious and comfortable, dinner was good and the breakfast offered was great. The only slight grumble to make was that the briefing on arrival at the spa was confusing. Arrival at twelve noon and spa treatment at five pm. We were led to believe that changing into dressing gowns was necessary from the start. I would have liked to have had been told that the gym was available to pass the time. Having said that. The pool and jacuzzi, sauna and other facilities were modern and terrific. Afternoon tea half way through the wait was luxurious and the staff were wonderful.

« Pleased we decided to make a return visit! »

Last visited this hotel 2 years ago and whilst it was good then feel that it is even better now. We didn't use the leisure facility but had a quick look round and that is obviously a big improvement to the hotel. We were in the main building and found the room clean, quiet and very pleasant with views out over the golf course. There was a problem with the heating on the first night, but to their credit we reported it to reception on our way to dinner and it had been resolved when we returned to the room. Both dinners and breakfasts were very good and service was excellent. I am sure we will return again at some time in the future. My only reservation is that the room rate is high if you are unable to use the leisure facilities.

« Excellent facilities in rural location »

The Kenwick Hall was a great find for exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds. It's amazing just how big Lincolnshire is, and it's a long way from Lincoln to the coast. As we were travelling with a dog it was really helpful to have French windows from our room into the garden. The leisure facilities were probably the best I've ever experienced. The leisure suite is separate from the hotel and even has its own bar lounge that serves light meals throughout the day. We were only there for bed and breakfast and the breakfast was of the same high standard. Louth may be off the beaten track but if you want to explored the Wolds this is the place to stay.

    « Poor service & dirty lodge »

Booked for our anniversary but very disappointed as when we got to the lodge it wasn't made up, it was dirty and looked like someone had just got out of the shower. We were offered the room above the kitchen which is not usually handed out due to noise (by Kenwick's own admissions), and so under the circumstances we had to leave. The spa was ok and the afternoon tea nice and I have offered to pay towards this but I am yet to receive a refund for the parts of the stay we missed..... on the 23rd September 3 weeks ago!! The general manager appears to have no authority to deal with complaints and was not available at the time to deal with us anyway even though it was a weekend. Whilst I am sure this doesn't happen all the time I would be weary of booking a lodge or room at this hotel.

    « Excellent golf package »

Stayed in hotel as part of package to include 2 games of golf, bed breakfast and evening meal. Stayed in the annex twin room which was very good, evening meal was very high quality with choice of 6 x 3 course options. Breakfast was spot on and couldn't fault anything at all about room, food or golf. Also went in pool, sauna, steam rooms which were high standard. Hotel located close to Louth which was a short taxi ride. Highly recommended for a short break with or without the golf option and ad a group of 4 have decided we will be returning

    « golfing break »

Went for a weekend golfing break 2 round of golf for a party of 4 middle age guys plus a night in the hotel, actually it was an annex room just next to the main hotel but very clean and tidy, the course was in really good condition for the time of year ( well done ground staff), the hotel staff were polite, the food was great both the evening meals and the breakfast was the best, the swimming pool and leisure facilities were first class. Only negative if any was not being able to get a drink after midnight, there was a function bar open still serving but we got asked to leave this bar as not guest ( so fair point) but the main bar was not open even at 12.15

« Lovely relaxing spa break »

We have just come back from a lovely overnight spa break at Kenwick Park. From the moment we arrived we couldn't have been more looked after! Our break started with a tour of the spa and a welcome drink, which was followed by a relaxing treatment by a fabulous therapist called Katie. We then had the most amazing afternoon tea which we couldn't finish - so the friendly young lady in the cafe offered to pack them up for us to take away at the end of the day! The spa itself is lovely and clean and the outdoor hydrotherapy pool was our favourite. We then checked in to our lodge which was in a beautiful woodland setting - very autumnal! The lodge was spacious and very well equipped with a dishwasher, DVD player, PlayStation, DVD's and games. The bedding was of a nice high quality with feather duvets and pillows. The lodge was lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. We had requested a lift to take us for dinner at the restaurant as we were about a 15 minute walk to the hotel, this is a helpful service! Dinner was great, our waiter Adam looked after us and both food and service were excellent. We walked to breakfast in the morning and it's a really nice walk past some of the more luxurious lodges, through the woodland which have us a chance to see the lovely autumn colours and woodland creatures. Breakfast was super - there's fruit, cereal, fresh croissants and a large selection of typical cooked breakfast items. Anything else can be ordered from the kitchen. Check out was quick and easy. The lady at reception was very helpful and friendly. We didn't catch her name, may have been Sarah? Sorry if we're wrong! Our stay was great value and we had a wonderful time. We have been telling everyone how great it was and we're already planning our next trip- this time for more than one night!

« Best Spa in a long time »

Had a lovely twilight spa experience last night. Arrived to be welcomed by a very kind gentleman who pointed us in the right direction. Headed up the stairs, welcome drink, shown round the facilities, spa was great. Spa treatments from two lovely ladies. Food was delicious, a nice Italian plate. Highly recommend this spa venue. Very clean too.

    « Excellent hotel »

I stayed here with my 7 year old son for one night in August. I was a little worried when I booked the hotel that it seemed to cater more for adult golf or spa breaks, I needn't have had any concerns, the staff could not do enough to make us feel more welcome, from the friendly receptionist to the helpful waiters in the restaurant. The room had two large double beds, free WiFi (a must with a 7 year old and their gadgets), and was lovely and clean. We ate in the restaurant which was wonderful and had a little wander to the spa for a drink and cake. I wish we had brought our swim gear as the pool looked amazing but my son was quite happy playing in the grounds and watching the rabbits run around! A wonderful hotel which I would highly recommend.

« Absolutely perfect, from beginning to end »

Stayed here for one night as a spa stay for my mothers birthday. Upon arrival, the reception staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and pointed us in the right direction of the spa. Arrived at the spa, yet again greeted by lovely polite staff, shown around the premises and handed us our personalised plan for our treatments throughout the day! At the point of booking I didn't realise double suites for treatments were available, and luckily they managed to change our rooms so both me and mum could be together throughout - nothing was too much trouble! We started off our day by having the hand and foot sole massage/scrub which were done by the lovely Alyesha and Zoe- who were amazing!! Couldn't have wished for better therapists for the day, they were amazing, very welcoming and put you at ease straight away!! The relaxation room is just out of this world :-) afterwards, we had our afternoon tea which was again, beautiful. All fresh food, handmade fruity tooty cake was beautiful! We had some time to spare before our next treatment started at 2:45, the sauna/ steam room and other amenities were fantastic!! Then we had a deep tissue massage followed by the gold and caviar facial - would 100% recommend both to anyone. My skin feels absolutely glowing!! Out of this world!! Upon leaving the spa at around 5:45, we made our way over to the hotel to check in- to then we flabbergasted by being upgraded to a LODGE: free of charge!! The lodge we stayed in had only been built one month prior and we were the first to stay!! The lodge was immaculate, spotless and decorated to a very very high standard! The reception desk gave us a time to be ready for to which a shuttle bus brought us to the hotel for our 3 course evening meal, so we could drink and enjoy our evening to full potential! The meal was, again, amazing, very very high standard!! The braised beef just melted in your mouth.. compliments to the chef!! Overall, Kenwick park is out of this world!! Will be coming back regularly! Thank you for making my mothers birthday as magical as I had hoped for.. which is nothing less than she deserves. Thank you so so much x

Can not wait to go back. we had a £55 package with afternoon tea which was fabulous.

    « MGB Weekend 2017 »

30 couples arrived on Friday 15th and departed Monday 18th. We had booked a DB&B package. It was an excellent location the staff were very good dealing with 60 each night sitting down for dinner. All of the main building rooms were very comfortable. We had some spare time and used the new gym and swimming pool with sauna and steam rooms. Will return.

« Nice hotel with a country house feel.... »

Kenwick Park hotel is a good quality Best Western hotel, with nice modern rooms and facilities (including a very pleasant 18 hole golf course) with a country house type feel to it. The reception team offer a friendly welcoming service, the waiting staff on the whole acceptable with perhaps just a hint of further customer service training being required for a couple of team members. Service in the golf clubhouse was exemplary, as was the food and drink offered. The breakfast was also very good, the dinner less so, and sadly a discernible mark-down on 2026 when as a golfing group of eight we last stayed. All-in -all though this is a hotel with a good feel, sufficient to make us rebook for 2018.

    « Hen weekend »

We booked 2 lodges and a meal in the restaurant for our friends hen night! The lodges were perfect, clean, spacious and well equipped, set in lovely woods and lots of outdoor space. Unfortunately on arriving at the lodge we realized it was quite a trek to the main building so asked reception staff if we could use the shuttle bus. We were rudely told that because we had not booked a package deal we were not entitled to use the bus even though we had spent nearly a £1000 on the lodges and a meal! We therefore had to cancel the meal and the spa treatments we had planned for the next day. The staff were very unhelpful and gave no compromise. So when booking please be aware if you plan on drinking or have any more mature or restricted mobility members in your group you may not be able to use all the facilities available.

« Will definitely visit again! »

We arrived here & were given a friendly greeting at reception & given our room, a super king 304, at the front of the hotel. The room was lovely, lots of space, lovely views, & the bed was so very comfortable. This was especially nice for us as we had just spent 2 nights at The Priory, in Bury St Edmund, which was definitely the worst best western ever! We had booked bed & breakfast, here, but had 2 evening meals as well, which were absolutely delicious. Ample car parking, and the Spa area is absolutely first class. The only reasons not to give it a 5 rating, the bathroom was lovely, but, no towel rail whatsoever. We really appreciate a warm heated towel rail, & were astonished that we had to hang them on the door! Also, there was no heating in the room or bathroom when we arrived on a bitterly cold day. There is an electric wall heater & portable convector heater provided, but the bathroom was cold. We mentioned it to the duty manager & he soon put the entire hotel central heating on! We will definitely return & would recommend it to anyone!

    « Can't recommend highly enough »

We spent 5 days at Kenwick Park recently during which time my husband developed a chest infection requiring medical treatment. We were overwhelmed by the kindness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. When it was learned that we were vegetarian, additional dishes were offered each day for dinner. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. Without a doubt, the best hotel we've ever stayed in.

    « Lacks management of staff/customer service »

I appreciate Louth is not blessed with many hotels but if all you require is a comfortable bed and a quiet room, with friendly welcome and a good breakfast- then I think you should consider looking elsewhere. If you want golf, or a Spa etc then maybe.... This hotel just does not deliver on what you need as a minimum- mainly via poor service, and most of this must be down to poor training/management of staff/personnel. Asked for a quiet room and pleased to get 111, at the end of the ground floor corridor so less rooms around it. But then found the room had not been checked - bins not emptied from previous occupents and made-up beds sat on by...?. Remedying and clarifying this issue with management ( no manager on duty between Friday 20.00- Saturday 12.00, and not the one named in the room info booklet who left 5 months ago))took far too long and without any really plausible explanation. Do you want to stay in a hotel where during a long walk from room to exit you pass 6 members of staff and not one of them, despite being unoccupied, acknowledges or greets you?

    « Engagement celebration »

Me and my fiancé came to kenwick park this weekend to do the stay Sunday spa Monday package. I must say I was very impressed and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. The facilities are fantastic everything that you want is available to you. The food is gorgeous and the service is really good- everyone is so attentive. The only thing is that I thought there would have been a little more choice with the Sunday menu rather than just a roast dinner with the two course- but that was partly my fault as I didn't research this. The afternoon teas are really lovely freshly baked cakes and scones and tasty sandwiches. The spa day was so relaxing just what we needed. Loads of facilities and the treatments were absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be coming back at some point we throughly enjoyed our stay.

« Room 106 spacious room, lovely outlook & comfy bed »

I stayed in room 106 whilst on business. It was a king double and had 2 beds. Not sure about the dark wallpaper but loved the huge bay window. I had a lovely view. I wondered if it had been refurbished as the window and carpet looked new. I was delighted with the spacious room. I enjoyed using the lovely spa facilities and it was peaceful swimming and using the outdoor hot tub in the evening. My room was so quiet and my bed so comfortable that I had an excellent nights sleep. I loved the thick curtains which kept the room dark so I was not wakened at dawn. I used the conference facilities the following day and was pleased with them too. Amy gave great service in reception and Zac was helpful at breakfast which was lovely. I would be delighted to stay here again for business or pleasure.

« sHAME ABOUT THE MUSIC. Absolutely No wi-fi in either of our rooms »

Nice enviroment, views are nice as well as the people. Breakfast was good and plenty of variety. The rooms were well equiped but a bit old fashioned, not as it was described ( being a boutique hotel). We were placed in a seperate block behind the main building but it backed onto the doors that led out from the entertainment room. The people in the second room I booked were kept up long intot he night, not what you would expect for the money. The minimum you expect is a nights sleep, everything alese can be a bonus but when you dont even get that then it a pretty poor show. I rang the reception because we had no wifi in either of the rooms and someone said they would call me back but never did. Nothing was even said to us on checking out

As our usual hotel was full I found this place as an alternative First appearances were good and a warm welcome at reception bode well We were allocated room 103 and pointed in its direction It was a warm day and the room was very hot with the tiny fan doing little to cool it but hey ho We meet our friends who had booked in earlier and went for dinner The waitress was good and efficient I had room only as did one of our friends the other had an all inclusive rate We finished our dinner which was very nice The following day one guest left with only 2 of us returning that evening We meet some local friends that evening with the other guest eating in the hotel We used the health centre which was outstanding However when we checked out our bill contained the other 2 guests meals and drink!!! Thankfully I am able to recover the money from my friend as the hotel didn't seem interested Save for the billing issue I'll certainly be back

I had a twin room - two enormous double beds! So comfy. Lovely setting in its own grounds. The bathroom was warm and cosy, loads of hot water. Great buffet breakfast, bacon, sausage, hash brown, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, a toasting machine. Friendly staff. Great stay!

« Afternoon tea - Amazing! FANTASTIC about food allergy special requirements! »

Fabulous afternoon tea today at Kenwick, and so nice that they catered really well for my friend who has a severe, life threatening nut allergy! So many places don't take it seriously and she is left unable to eat much for fear of nut contamination! Puddings are normally a no go for her, as no where will make the effort to check the food contents reliably. It was so lovely that they had really made a fantastic effort to provide her with a safe nut free afternoon tea - the cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls were really lovely! Well worth the money and lovely relaxing atmosphere for a good chin wag with the girls! We Will do this a lot more often! Especially knowing how good the staff are and how conscious they are of the nut allergy! Thanks Kenwick!

« Nice break good golf course »

We stayed for two nights a couple of weeks ago and played three rounds of golf. Ground floor room over looking the golf course , the room was a good size , nice bathroom, very comfortable bed. The only complaint the room was very dark and bathrobes would have been a plus. We had dinner bed and breakfast and were advised to book for dinner, I have to say the service was very slow in the dining room, but the food was acceptable for a three star hotel. The spa facilities were good. We booked three rounds of golf, the course is flat with wide fairways, and some water, watch out for the 10th! Well stocked pro shop and helpful staff. All in all a pleasant break, would visit again.

Fabulous Sunday driver, fabulous value for money. 2 rounds of golf, overnight stay with dinner and breakfast too which was lovely. The hotel rooms were spacious and the hotel is very close to the golf club so walkable. The course itself was challenging but enjoyable, I would highly recommend this to any dedicated golfer. The staff at the hotel and golf club were amazing, polite and courteous.

« a good setting but very poor food »

there are quite a lot of facilities at this hotel, including a nice pool and gym, and a golf course, and our room was fine and clean but the food is terrible. I'm sure from the management point of view, they are doing a good job, as the place was packed, but this is the worst food I have ever had at a Best Western, what a shame

    « Acceptable »

When first ringing about our stay i was hoping for a lodge for the night to which i was strongly dissapointed to be swayed upon a hotel room as there was only two of us. Upon arrival of our stay the views and grounds were grand, the food and service was spliffing however too our dissapointment when wanting to freshen up for our evening meal we were extremely disgruntled to find the showers were running cold. Upon contacting recption who did come straight away to our crisis, we were shocked to find the taps were backwards and they chugged rather than ran free flowing, brushing our teeth turned into such a task. Overall we did enjoy our stay and will be visiting again, bravo to all the staff and the cooks top job..

    « Lovely setting »

Beautiful location spoiled by low standard of service. Be careful that you are given rooms in the hotel and not the cottage. When the hotel was busy with a wedding party the service was fine, however, once they left the quieter hotel lacked service from 'skeleton' staff.

We arrived later than planned but they still seated us and gave complimentary prosecco. The rooms were large and clean and the spa facilities wonderful. Do not miss out on the outdoor jacuzzi it's so much more refreshing that the indoor. Wonderful grounds and excellent food all very reasonable

    « Nice hotel »

When arriving the hotel immediately gives the impression of a great building. The reception staff were polite and efficient, the reception area is spacious and welcoming. Our room was clean, was a good size and had a good view from the window. The bathroom was also clean and well presented. When we returned from our evening out it was a hot and humid night, but a fairly silent running fan is thoughtfully supplied in the room. The bed was again spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. The only negative in the room was the filthy cover on the ironing board. All of this positivity was unfortunately lost at breakfast. While I never expect too much from a buffet style breakfast, the solitary fried egg I was presented with, was so hard it could easily have been classified as a weapon. The bacon was so salty I couldn't finish it and the soggy hash brown had cooking oil run out of it when cut and was also inedible. We also had to leave our table to ask for tea and coffee rather than a server coming to the table to ask us. Toast was also a little random as one pass through barely coloured the bread and a second trip through returned it burnt. I also found a jar of brown sauce lurking in amongst the jam. On the plus side my wife requested scrambled eggs which were cooked for her and were spot on and a good size portion. So in conclusion a lovely hotel, with excellent rooms and facilities, helpful and pleasant staff but a pretty substandard breakfast. I'd like to think breakfast was a random glitch and I was just unlucky to hit the buffet bar at the wrong time, I hope this was the case as we will be staying again in the future.

    « Spa Break »

Went on a 1 night spa break here last October. The service was incredible and accommodated all our needs. Food was lovely and were very knowledgeable on their wines. Rooms are MASSIVE, and beds are comfy. Shower is powerful (which is a huge pro for me!). Spa was beautiful with every facility you'd want, the hydro pool outside was lovely and was so relaxing sitting outside in the dark with all the pretty lights. Treatment was wonderful (I had a honey back massage), and waiting room was equipped with beds, magazines, snacks and drinks. Afternoon tea has a modern twist and unusual but tasty extras such as mini quiches. Could not fault it, from the breakfast to the treatments, everything was lovely. Thank you!

Was there with a works party for afternoon tea party. To say it was bad was a understatement there was a wedding on and another party. We booked for 1.30 back in March. We eventually received out cheap coffee and tea at 2pm and our ordinary trays of food at 2.10am there was normal sandwich whicheck you could have brought from tesco A small sausage roll.a small scone and a potwink of cream and jam to share. Small carrot cake and small sweet chocolate sweato. All this for two at a cost of 15 pound each.staff was rude. Won't go again. When returned to work all agreed great setting food awful staff rude

We visited here for afternoon tea last Sunday. It was delicious, very well presented. Service was excellent. My Granddaughter didn't like the choice of sandwiches on our last visit so this time they prepared ham sandwiches for her. My daughter , granddaughter & myself had the traditional afternoon tea. My husband & son-in-law had the savoury afternoon tea which looked delicious too & was thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely recommend afternoon tea here. It is very family orientated .

The trip, bought as a birthday present for my wife, was excellent. Arrived at the Spa, friendly greeting. Issued with robes and towels. Shown around. We opted to have our afternoon tea for lunch, lovely cream tea. Spa treatment excellent. Staff very helpful and efficient. Moved to the hotel our room was very large and pleasant with all items you would wish: tea and coffee, bathroom items down to sewing repair kits. Beds were very comfortable. Service in the bar was good, two good cask ales on. Supper in the restaurant was excellent, again, service good and friendly. Good nights sleep and an excellent breakfast. We'll do it again, it was very enjoyable. Our room number was 101, waited all night for someone to pull a lever and dispose of us.

We have been before - an excellent golf course with some devilish holes. New spa looks brilliant - missed it because it was fully booked. Rooms excellent and hotel services good. The let down was the meals - very ordinary and the meat was disappointing.

« Superb value for money »

Kenwick Park Hotel was an excellent choice for our golf trip to Lincolnshire, with a superb course on site and easy proximity to other good courses. The Hotel offers good facilities highlighted by to wonderful leisure suite especially the hydrotherapy pool and ice room to take away aches and pains post round. My room was in an annex which made it a quiet location, a large bathroom and a comfortable bed made it a good stay. The breakfast buffet was freshly cooked with plenty of choice and the bar was well stocked with a good choice of beers. The location also makes it a great wedding venue. The town of Louth is a short drive away which gives a good choice of restaurants and pubs.

I cannot recommend this place enough. We stayed in one of the Retreat Lodges and the lodge was absolutely fantastic. Spacious, clean, cosy and very well furnished and designed. We stayed for a hen party and the help and hospitality I received both during the organisation of the weekend and on arrival were fantastic. We will all definitely be coming back and recommending others. Special thanks to Amy who was such a great help to me and was so helpful with the million questions I must have emailed! :)

« Great place with some great views »

A nice quiet tucked away hotel. The staff were polite helpful and funny upon arrival. The room was spacious, well equipped and clean. The lounge area was nice to sit in and relax with a good coffee, after a coffee I had a walk round the grounds which was lovely, so quiet and you can watch the golfers too. Dinner was served well presented and tasted amazing with a good few wines and good servers, especially the nice gentlemen with a moustache. They had a deal on two for two people which they said I could half which was appreciated but I ate off the normal menu. With the quiet ground I had a great nights sleep and looking forward to staying there again.

« Golfing trip with friends »

I left this hotel thinking the most outstanding part of a stay here is the staff. They were all so friendly & helpful. At breakfast I couldn't find any marmalade & both times a member staff found me some with no difficulty. The rooms are a good size. there were no robes in the room but you could ask for one if needed. There were tea & coffee making facilities in the room but not as good as I have found in other hotels. The grounds are stunning with a scenic, challenging golf course. The hotel is away from the main road so it is quiet. I can imagine this would be a good venue for a wedding. You can book for just bed & breakfast or include your evening meal. The menu for the evening meal we had included 4 choices for starter, main course & dessert (which included a cheese & biscuit option). I had the blade of beef which was very tender. I would have liked less meat & more vegetables. The cheeses were very tasty. Unfortunately where this hotel is situated the mobile phone service was very patchy & intermittent. There is free wifi but it is very slow. I tried to send an email from my ipad & phone & both failed. You would struggle to keep in contact with work or family with poor service from your mobile phone or computer/ipad.

    « Afternoon Tea »

Our family decided to visit the Kenwick Park for afternoon tea on Easter Sunday. We were having a quiet Easter as 1 family member was working on the other 3 days so this was to be our 'highlight'. We were very disappointed with our food. We each had 4 quarters of a sandwich-ie 2 rounds of bread in total. We could hardly taste the bland contents. 1 with egg mayonnaise, another with some grated cheese, another with I think morsels of chicken and the last an extremely thin slices of smoked salmon and cucumber. My granddaughter's lunch box is more interesting. Along with this was 1 small mouthful of sausage roll, a small dry scone with miniscule jars of jam and cream, a small 2 bite piece of carrot cake and a small round soft-spoken not fresh, short pastry cake. The pot of tea was OK! We do not recommend this establishment for afternoon tea. Mike Reed

    « Delicious food »

Me and my partner came here for a wedding at the beginning of April. The building and the grounds are very beautiful and the food is even better. Brie for starter, the Brie oozed out when the crispy coating was cut into. Roast beef with trimmings for the main, again very nice, but we had to ask for more gravy as by the time I nearly finished the meal, the gravy had run out and the food was rather dry. We had a banoffee meringue for the pudding. The wait staff were very professional. There was a problem with the card machine at the main bar, so the lady took me to the other bar to pay. All in all, a really good day and the food was amazing.

« Great place to stay and lovey food »

A group of friends stayed there and loved it. Nice rooms and good facilities . We visited and had a meal with them which was lovely. Staff were welcoming and very pleasant. Food was very good and the wine selection was lovely. Also had a ukulele band entertain us!

« Very enjoyable, relaxing stay. »

We only live a few miles from here, this is the first time I've took my fifteen year old on a short break alone. Kenwick has a relaxed country house atmosphere, very friendly staff and guests, Our room 208 was lovely and clean with a wonderful view of the golf course, the beds were super comfy and the room was quiet. My Son played Golf and said it was one of the best courses he had visited again was very friendly and welcoming. We also visited the Spa and pool area very clean and friendly, great facilities. We did not want to leave. I would have no hesitation in staying here as a lone traveler as it felt so homely. We will be back, we loved it, thank you.

« Golf and Spa weekend »

This hotel with golf and spa is well worth a visit, and represented great value for the weekend. The chaps were playing golf and the ladies were visiting the spa, where they also each had a pre-booked treatment within the cost. Enjoyed the golf, an interesting course and would certainly like to play it again. We were booked into the superior rooms in the main hotel, four poster bed, a large seating/ lounge area and a large bathroom and shower. The room was well fitted out and had a good view over the 10th green. Could not fault the room Within our package was a two course evening meal, had a good choice of starters and mains, the braised beef main dish I had was excellent. All our group were complimentary of the the dishes served. Breakfast is buffet style , everything you would expect and most enjoyable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, made you feel, very welcome. There are log cabins within the grounds that can be rented , and in doing so you have the use of the hotel and leisure facilities. We had an excellent weekend and breaking down the overall cost per couple ,it was very good value for money. Would I go back, of course.

« Nice hotel in nice surroundings »

Stayed here a couple of times on business. The rooms are comfortable and clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style, or some items are made to order. The setting for this place is what makes it special, if you get a room looking out onto the grounds (golf course) it can be very pleasant. Haven't eaten here of an evening, but colleagues who have say they had no complaints. There is also a really nice country pub nearby, known locally as The Splash.

    « Comfort and Quality »

Have stayed a number of times, why, because the staff food and hotel are so good. This a quality hotel, with a real homely feel set in beautiful park land. The new pool and Spa are excellent. Loads of parking right next to the hotel. Good free wi fi

    « Spa Day!! »

Lovely facilities, and really nice front of house staff. Afternoon tea was stunning and very nicely laid out. The only thing that lets this place down is the treatments unfortunately, had a full body massage and half hour facial. Wasn't asked about pressure or areas I need focusing on, wasn't asked about my facial concerned or what I currently do. Pressure was light and not firm enough. My extra treatment I booked over email wasn't booked in and couldn't be accommodated, no apologize, just brushed under the carpet. Overall an average experience and prob wouldn't return.

« Spacious and Very Comfortable »

My husband & I stayed here for one night in November. The reception staff were friendly & very helpful. The room was clean, large & very spacious with modern furniture & fittings. Breakfast was the usual self service with yoghurt, cereals, breads, continental & full English. All presented well & hot. Surroundings & gardens lovely. Facilities included a swimming pool & gym & free wifi. Would recommend as an overall great stay.

    « Hungry! Hungry! Hungry! »

Hotel is nice enough, rooms are comfortable and spacious. However, here on a Saturday night to be told that the restaurant is full and they are too busy to provide room service. It would seem we are going to go hungry unless we travel to Louth itself which is a few miles away. Very disappointing service.

« Excellent service and food »

Very pleasant and friendly receptionist when I rang to book a meal. Greeted by name on arrival. Very welcoming staff. Food excellent and reasonable prices. Very nice surroundings. The seafood risotto was exceptional for my starter. Short crust pastry beef and mushroom pie was delicious for main with home made chips and peas and a good quantity of very tasty gravey. Too full for pudding. Worth going and I will go again.

    « 70th Birthday Celebration »

We decided to hold my Mum's 70th birthday celebration at Kenwick. We booked an 8 berth Lodge for our overnight stay for some friends and family, and other friends booked to stay in the hotel rooms. There was to be 22 of us altogether and we booked to eat in the hotel restaurant. I was anxious as it was a surprise for my Mum, but I couldn't have asked for the whole evening to go any more perfectly! We asked to check in a little earlier so we could decorate the lodge, no problem at all! The Retreat Lodge (No.3) was immaculately clean and gorgeous. We were very impressed. We then asked to decorate the table in the hotel restaurant that afternoon..again no problem at all. Due to the size of our party, we had been put in the side room adjoining the restaurant. The large table was already set beautifully when we got there, the staff were so helpful, finding a cake stand to present the cake on. The evening went brilliantly. All staff were polite, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The food was absolutely gorgeous...we chose from the set menu at £26 a head. The service was prompt and friendly. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The whole evening was perfect! In the morning, some of our friends that had stayed in the hotel praised their rooms and the lovely breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel and lodge accommodation for a large celebration.

    « Fantastic Facilities »

Stayed here for 1 night en-route to Hull for business Hotel is exceptional, staff very professional. The gym facilities are exceptional. I was lucky enough to have a 'normal' room, imagine my surprise when it included a king size four poster bed! High-speed wifi was bullet proof during my stay. Breakfast was lovely and set me up for the day

    « Fantastic »

We really did not know what expect as 3 couples all celebrating our 50th birthdays. The receptionist was so helpful and welcoming and lodge 73 was outstanding as soon as we opened the door. It was wow!! Very clean, spacious, warm and cosy. 2 double bedrooms with en suites which were top spec then a family room with a family bathroom. Thel lounge and kitchenette was huge. Tv and ipad with games and dvds to use. We were in the woods but we got a takeaway delivered which was excellent. We were given a day pass each to the new 4.5 million pound spa and health club which was breathtaking, it was such a pleasure to go there and swim, go in the spa, sauna and outside pool...awesome!! We all said it was superb, and a fab 3 night break. Thank you.

    « Spa weekend »

Myself and 3 lovely ladies have just returned from a spa weekend. Wow, the spa facilities were amazing, after the refurbishment. Beautiful pool and poolside facilities. Lovely steam and sauna , footbaths, ice room and warm room. Only 2 small moans. Sadly only 4 poolside loungers which was nowhere near enough, and no hooks to hang your robes/towels. The staff in the spa were great and we were truly pampered. We stayed in a cabin which was just lovely. The food was amazing especially the beef. Breakfast sadly no eggs, waiting for bacon and sausages and although we asked twice we never got any croissants. On the whole fabulous

    « Leisure break »

This was our first visit to this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was good and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The new health spa is amazing. The hotel is in a quiet rural location but only a five minute drive from Louth. A car is essential to get around this part of Lincolnshire. I'm sure we will return.

Once again we have enjoyed our stay at Kenwick Park The golf course was having some maintenance work done but we had been aware of that prior to visit. This did not spoil our enjoyment in spite of the inclement weather excellent leisure facilities only problem was in not being able to use when we arrived early unlike other hotels we have been allowed to use leisure facilities prior to our check in time But once 3pm arrived we enjoyed all the facilities Normally we go out of the hotel for our evening meal on this occasion we were staying D B and B and what a delightful experience that was Excellent food and service we shall definitely eat in the hotel in the future

    « FAILED/Cancelled »

Booked here for a spa day online for a friend and myself. The website took me to Treatwell.Co.UK booked and paid ONLY to get a phone call the following morning to say the package I'd booked wasn't available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. BIG disappointment. I'm very angry now to have to start looking again. Shame on you Kenwick for not being able to get your details on your website correct!!!

    « Stunning »

I stayed here during a business trip. This is a fabulous hotel with stunning grounds and facilities. The rooms were clean and extremely well presented. Staff were very helpful. The restaurant food is of really good quality. Whether you are staying for business or pleasure I would definitely recommend this hotel

    3
« The cabins are great »

The kenwick park hotel is 5 mins drive away from the Louth city centre. There is two restaurants one a la carte and the other is pub grub. Great place. They pool is open all day and spa has all the treatments you may desire. The walk from the hotel back to the cabins can be scary at night LOL

    « Lovely stay »

I stayed at the hotel as part of a golf package. The hotel was great. Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The bar was well stocked and our 3 course meal was beautiful. The room was much larger than we expected and was clean and well kept. The onsite spa facilities were modern, clean and friendly, a must visit. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you to all the staff who made our weekend a memorable one.

    « Superb spa experience »

If you book the personalised 2 hour spa experience, ask for Zoe from Selby. I've been to a few spas and have always found something that could have been better! Well no complaints this time, I wasn't left alone 'to relax while my mask works into my skin' but had a wonderful head and hand massage instead. I had had an operation on my foot but this was no problem for my therapist and she was very caring and solicitous, making sure I was comfortable at all times. Would thoroughly recommend. We were a group of friends celebrating a 60th birthday and stayed in one of the lodges. You really need a car as we were the furthest lodge from the hotel, unless you are all fit and able! The hotel provided a courtesy mini bus to take us up, and bring us back, to the hotel for dinner. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

« Calm, Quiet and another relaxing weekend »

We have just returned from another great stay at Kenwick Lodges. We travelled with friends and stayed in a 3 bed lodge with two bathrooms. The lodges are of great size and are secluded into the woods. We had a few issues with the cleanliness of the lodge but this was sorted in a polite and helpful manner and we cannot fault the staff. Our partners had a round of golf and we had a lovely Afternoon tea. Previously we have used the spa etc and were pleased with the treatments we had. You do have to drive to reception and spa if staying in lodges as it is too far to walk and down a very bumpy road which is not lit at night. We went into Louth for dinner on the Saturday night and ordered a taxi.(Deanos of Louth) When it turned up the driver was very helpful and helped us all in and then turned on the music and disco lights. It was amazing. The charge was really reasonable and he was on time on both routes. I would recommend this retreat with you want a relaxing, quiet time away all year around.

    « Superb Place »

Went here for a wedding, the place is lovely, the grounds are lovely and so too are the staff, very polite, professional and quick to serve. Drinks were reasonably priced (not cheap but not over the top) the whole day went well and the evening entertainment was fantastic, a live band who played all the right music for the party to keep dancing. The food was something special, everything cooked nicely, good portions and everything was hot. A great venue, well worth a weekend stay, nice spa facilities and the golf I understand is good too.

    5
    « Enjoyable break »

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the hotel. Our room was lovely, decent size. We booked half board and the set menu was great and very tasty. The breakfast was also lovely with a choice of English Breakfast, continental with also a choice of cereals, fruit salad. The new leisure facilities were brilliant, such a relaxing environment. There was a gym, a swimming pool, outdoor hydrotherapy pool (a bit like a rectangular hot tub), spa pool (jacuzzi). You could also choose from a steam room, ice room, Sauna, foot spa and many more. There is also a golf course, and if you did not want to stay at the hotel itself, they do have lodges. This hotel feels more like a 4 star hotel than a 3 star. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we both had a pleasant stay.

    « Wedding Hotel Stay »

Stayed here after my Daughter's Wedding. Had a family room with my partner and I with my youngest Son. We were on the ground floor and had a view of a grass slope up to a path. Had all the creature comforts apart from Air Conditioning. Comfy double which we had a decent night's sleep in. It was pricey even with a discount but nothing else to complain about.

    4
« Good venue for a wedding in this area »

Whilst I had initial problems getting in touch with the venue (they did not respond to my email) once I phoned things were easily sorted. I found the check in time of 3pm late compared to other hotels but then they did offer a later check out time of 11am. They were very good at letting me check in early which meant I could have a shower and get ready for the wedding I was attending. I was not particularly looking forward to the food as my experience of mass catering at such venues has not been been great but on the whole I was impressed. The room was very nice although little details need attending to, e.g., the light for the mirror in the bathroom did not work, there was a gap between the tiles and the bath resulting in a slight smell of damp. Overall a good place to stay and the added benefit of using the leisure facilities (which I did not have time to use) was a bonus. I think that it is a good place for a wedding although they could have done better tidying up the room prior to the evening do - perhaps ask people to vacate the room for 1 hour would have been a good idea.

very nice, staff were helpful, the hotel was very clean. no air con in our room 307 big 4 post bed and the room had lots of space, could not view tv from bed as drapes around the bed but good views from windows and had to have both windows opened to keep cool so lovely, the new pool and spar is one of the best i'v have ever used. short drive to town centre and if a golfer then you are next to the golf club. will stay again.

    « FAB LODGE RETREAT »

Stayed in Lodge 60 - We booked late but we were accommodated in a fantastic dog friendly lodge located next to woodland walk on the park. The lodge was very well equipped and very spacious. The setting was beautiful and private with other lodges a good distance away. The facilities at the Club Spa are top notch and we will definitely be returning here. We brought our 2 dogs who had a brilliant time. Staff at the hotel and the spa were very friendly.

    « Online booking disappointment. »

Whilst I only live local, having stayed here before and enjoyed my stay with friends, I felt it was the perfect place to just get away from it all for a night. Just wanted some quiet time. I decided to book a last minute room online through the Best Western website, quite late in the evening. On arrival at the hotel the night porter advised me that all the rooms were taken and I did not have a booking. I was very disappointed but he kindly passed on my complaint to reservations. Both the porter and Amy were very helpful, empathetic and an asset to Best Western. Sadly though the booking system let me down. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and the food is excellent. Staff are professional and polite and if you manage to get a room you won't be disappointed. They also have state of the art health spa facilities. Get your act together Best Western your administration system is letting this lovely hotel and it's staff down. It is embarrassing for team members to be put in that position. I am very polite but some people may have been very angry and confrontational in such a situation. Be honest with yourselves, if your online system is letting your customers down do something about it, don't blame the hotel staff and at least offer a compensatory drink should your dissatisfied customers ever return. Had I been able to stay this review would have been 4 stars so to avoid disappointment if you book online follow it up with a call to the hotel, they can reassure you all is well. A pleasant experience will await you.

    « Refreshing break - nearly excellent! »

Cosy, clean woodland lodges, good service and top of the range spa facilities. This hotel and spa has the potential to be excellent but felt the small details were overlooked. I'd have certainly given 5* with the following suggestions: Poolside hooks for towels; Streamline look is preferable, I guess, and looks great when the pool/spa is empty but by the time we got there in the afternoon there were piles and piles of robes and towels festooning the poolside. This resulted in someone else picking up my robe as mistaking it for their own, and we were reminded by staff there would be a fine/charge for not returning our robes and towels! It'd be a lot easier for guests if there were some hooks or rails. The same would be helpful in the changing facilities. Disposable cups for water; there's a water filter/fountain in the pool area but it dispenses the water very slowly and is quite difficult to drink from, resulting in queues of people. Providing cups (and a bin) would, in my opinion, be a sensible option. Soya or dairy alternative milk option, especially at breakfast; we asked for this but there was none on site. It's not the 1980s Over all, great facility with good hygiene standards and (mostly) friendly staff.

    « A lovely place to unwind »

An hotel with excellent facilities, although we didn't use them, others in our family were very impressed. I will make sure that I take my golf clubs next time! The breakfast was OK however the breakfast could be improved, as often happens when bacon and fried eggs are kept warm in chafing dishes, the bacon was either very dry or very soggy and the fried eggs tended to be over-cooked.

    « Disappointing »

We stayed in Lodge 75 for two night while attending a family wedding in the area . We were staying with our son. His wife and our 22 month old grandson .When booking we had asked for a cot .A few days before our stay we phoned to check our reservation and to check there was a cot . On arrival no cot was evident .But upon a search we found a travel cot at the back of a cupboard in the hall .So we set to erecting it .This was when we found the cot was damaged. The plastic base looked as if it had been melted so would not stay flat so it was impossible, to lay the mattress base on top .On inspection the mattress base was very stained and very unpleasant .Also there was no bedding for the cot .We phoned reception and they told us that bedding was not provided for cots.It would have been helpful to have been told this when booking ,or even have it on our paperwork, but as this was not the case we had nothing with us to use .When we explained the situation and the state of the cot ,the receptionist arranged a replacement cot and also some bedsheets for us to fold up to use in the cot . The lodge felt as if it could do with updating ,furniture looked tired .Dirty utensils and dishes had been put away in the kitchen so all had to be washed before we were able to use them . Beds mattresses were very hard and beds very creeky.. The lodge is not well sound insulated and you are aware of every sound from each room . Talking to staff we were given the impression that the lodges are of various standards .We felt for what we had paid it did not come up to standards expected . A real shame as we are often in the area visiting family and might have chosen to stay again ,but probably not after this experience . Having said this the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful .

« LODGE 51 FOR A FOUR NIGHT BREAK: CEDAR LODGE DOG FRIENDLY »

We were very impressed with this huge modern lodge. Three double bedrooms and two bathrooms, spacious open plan lounge, kitchen, diner. In a beautiful woodland setting, heavenly to sit out on the verandah and listen to the birds. The hotel and pool are situated quite a long distance from the lodges. The leisure facilities were spotlessly clean and very modern. We used the pool and the steam room then the café. Lovely fluffy white towels provided and a warm welcome from both hotel and leisure staff. We drove to Saltfleet for the dog friendly beach, Louth for shopping and eating out. Tip: take a good map! The lodges are not within walking distance of anything really but woodland. I do feel we had good value for money however I really didn't feel it was family friendly. It was a creating your own fun sort of holiday. Not only was there no WiFi we also couldn't get any mobile connection and were unable to contact family at home from the lodge. I was constantly trying to keep my noisy 8 year old quiet as the lodge park itself was silent (even on Bank Holiday week!) The pool is more of a spa type with lanes and a small area for children. The whole hotel and lodge park seems designed for middle and upper class golfers and ladies on spa days. No children's play areas. I would think this more suited to couples and business trips. Beautiful but not for families.

    « Be prepared! »

We stayed at lodge 30. We have stayed at many hoseasons lodges before but this is the first where you have to spend the first 3 hours cleaning the bedroom. The walls are timber as you would expect what you would not expect is your clothes being coated in dust as you brush past to get into bed. My wife runs a cleaning company and so with knowledge commented that it is at least a years worth. I actually wrote my name on the side table. The bathroom was clean but every other surface was filthy. It took my wife until 2a.m to clean the filthy walls and rancid carpet before we could attempt some sleep. The verandah around the building is covered in cobwebs all the way round as though no one has lived there for years. Do not spend your hard earned money on this.

« Nice setting shame about the details »

Imagine sitting on the patio with a good pint and watching the swifts flying in and out feeding their young. This hotel is set in lovely grounds bordering the golf course. However,on arrival there were no toiletries in the room,no soap, shower gel or shampoo. Next day we returned to our room only to find no towels. This was reported to reception who asked "which towels do you want". She later saw me in the bar with a cappuccino in one hand and a cold drink in the other. She asked " do want your towels now", she eventually placed them in our room. The food is ok but the staff are somewhat inexperienced but friendly, one asking me do I put chocolate on the cappuccino. We probably won't return sorry.

We went over the August bank holiday. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with stunning scenery. Stayed in room 305 which was immaculate and over looked the golf course. Definitely going back next year.

Came for a spa day. The refurb is lovely. Very clean and warm looking. Could do with a few more plants etc and there needs to be the timers in the saunas and steam rooms. « iLodge Ultra - Very good »

We stayed in the iLodge ultra as part of a long weekend golfing in the area. The iLodge was first class, high spec and had everything that we needed. There are 5 bedrooms (mix of doubles and twins, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen with all appliances required. There are two lounges, one downstairs as part of a large open plan kitchen, diner, lounge area and one upstair along with a pool table (proper one!), table football and poker table. Lots of smart gadgets all over the place. Only drawback for us was the wifi was very poor, this was reported to the hotel but nothing done about it. I would certainly recommend this but if wifi was required want some assurances that it was working as well as the rest of this great property. The hotel was a little tired, I can only comment on reception, bar and restaurant but all were old fashioned and in need of a spruce up. The golf course was excellent, well kept and a decent challenge.

    « Spa get away »

This hotel is ideally located for the airport and people who like to shop. The hotel staff were all very attentive and the restraint staff were exemplary. The room was small and needed updating. The tiles were cracked in the bathroom in several places. The bed was firm and the pillows all feather. However due to my husbands allergy the staff replaced them all very quickly. Parking facilities are excellent. The spa was lovely with good facilities we enjoyed the pool particularly. We had a treatment which was relaxing and the staff were very professional and friendly. Overall a relaxing stay and good value for money.

    « Afternoon tea »

I visited with friends for afternoon tea. The staff were really helpful and accommodated us even though we hadn't booked and they had a large wedding. The food was beautifully presented and more than enough. The views over looking the grounds were lovely and staff ensured that we were looked after throughout our visit.

    « golf break »

Very good check in, lovely staff. Straight off to golf, again nice staff in pro shop and very helpful. After playing golf got key for room and it was lovely, walk in shower and views over the golf course (room 305) with 4 poster bed. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was very good too. A help yourself buffet at breakfast with lots of choice. Sat nav took us to the wrong place but a quick call to the hotel established where we had gone wrong and quickly located them. Golf course was beautiful, some lovely holes and in good condition. All in all a great break and would return.

« Lodge accommodation could be better. »

Came here to celebrate a friend's wedding and had a lovely time. However we were staying in lodge 75 and there is some room for improvement. We had family staying in the lodge next door which was fitted out to a much higher standard. Lodge 75 was somewhat tired and the bunk beds were extremely lumpy to the extent that my children had to lie on their duvet to make it comfortable. The bedding could do with replacing generally. On the plus side the jacuzzi bath was nice and the accommodation was spacious. The setting is also beautiful. There was wifi and Sky TV in the lodge too. The patio door wouldn't close upon our arrival, staff were quick to remedy this problem and it was promptly fixed.

    « Beautiful »

We attended a wedding here and stayed in the hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, arranging us an early check in so we had time to get ready before the ceremony. The location is beautiful and the food served at the wedding really very good - probably one of the best wedding buffets I've eaten. We paid the "wedding rate" for the room but even at the standard room rate it would have been excellent value.

    « Great staff »

I stayed at this lovely place one week, and would love to come back. My stay was last week July. I was welcomed by Amy at the reception. Very friendly, helpful and nice. My room was okay, and the hotel looked nice. There is a golf course next door, spa at the hotel, good parking just outside, and lots of great English nature all around. It is also close to the town Louth, and a taxi to the center of town would only take a few minutes. The hotel also have a very good kitchen. I had most of my meals at the hotel, and I was impressed. I know that this is not a five star hotel, but I will give five stars because of their great staff. They were all professional, helpful and friendly. They all made me feel at home, so Emma, Sophie, Amy, and all the rest of you: Thanks for makeing my stay there such a nice one.

    « A plesant stay in Louth »

A great place to stay for a relaxing environment. The leisure facilities at this hotel are very good and the hotel is set within the grounds of a golf course, The hotel itself could do with a make over however all the staff are very polite.

    « Expensive »

Stayed overnight recently for a wedding which was great but thought £110 for the room was overpriced for what it was. The room was nothing to write home about, I've stayed in £30 a night B & B's which were as good if not better. Only one cup between two of us, shower difficult to use although there was a non slip bath mat which was useful. Bed fairly comfortable. No waiter service at breakfast, do your own toast and self serve the rest. My friend asked for poached egg on toast and got a plate with two poached eggs, no toast! By the time she did her toast, eggs were cold! Sausages were very dry. This place is ok if you are feeling rich but I'm sure there are bed and breakfast establishments nearby far better value! Shop around!

firstly a big thank you to the lovely girl at reception very helpful indeed nothing to much trouble, but the cherry tree lodge was just brilliant great views and must be one of the largest lodges we have stayed in , will be back and big thank you.

    « Overnight Spa Break »

I was treated by my husband to their overnight Spa Break and we were very impressed. The spa facilities are the best I think I've ever been too and the whole day was very relaxing. The hotel was great too - we were in room 306 which was amazing - very spacious, 4 poster bed, good bathroom etc. Had a very nice evening meal and breakfast too. It was all very good value for money, staff were friendly and a real treat.

    « Average hotel »

Stayed on the 30th July for one night. This hotel has all the facilities which would be required but I felt it was a little outdated and needs attention to detail e.g. bathroom very old and needs a refresh. The breakfast was lovely. It is usually a busy hotel for weddings and can be noisy at times. Overall it is an adequate hotel but not great value for money.

    « Wedding & Spa visit »

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel as we were attending a wedding. Lovely setting, pretty grounds, next to the golf course with a Spa also at the back of the hotel. Staff we met were all lovely. Couldn't do enough to help. Stayed in room 302. Thought the room was a little on the small side. The room had no air conditioning so we had to request a fan from reception. Facilities in the room & en suite were great, TV, i-pod doc, hairdryer, Iron & ironing board. Bed was really comfy. Down side to this room was that it was very hot. With both windows open it was also a bit noisy as there were what may have been air con units on top of the flat roof to the left & the window facing the bed opened up onto a small walkway with a door leading from a staff area possibly leading to the bins & smoking area. I was surprised to find that the shower in the en suite was not a power shower but was one linked to the taps.On the whole though the room was decent enough. Breakfast on both mornings was lovely. Buffet & continental style with the option of upgrading your breakfast to something a bit more lavish for a small charge. The use of Spa facilities was a bonus and definitely was a highlight of the stay. The 20M pool, steam room, sauna, foot spa, Ice room & the hydrotherapy pool outside with powerful jets were just the ticket for shaking off the post wedding hangover. The wedding itself was very nice. I'm sure the photos will look beautiful as the outdoor areas were really pretty. One concern was the master of ceremonies who seemed to be in a rush to keep things moving along swiftly despite a member of the wedding party taking a turn due to the heat inside the Meridian suite. I thought this was quite poor and showed a lack of empathy, he seemed more concerned about serving dessert on time rather than the welfare of the poorly guest who was being tended to by other wedding guests. Another small complaint is when we went to check out we were advised one night had not been paid for despite receiving confirmation that payment had been received in full & with thanks. We were asked if we had a copy of our bank statement to hand which of course we didn't as the room had been booked & paid for by the mother in-law. On the whole, a nice place to visit and the free wifi was good too :o)

« Fantastic wedding at Kenwick park hotel & clubspa »

We've just returned from our wedding at Kenwick park, which we've been planning in conjunction with kenwicks amazing team for nearly a year. We couldn't of asked for anymore, the venue is stunning, and everyone from each department went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Their were 80 plus guests for the daytime and we lost track of how many in the evening, but the staff in the kitchen and on f&b coped brilliantly, making sure everyone was happy at all times. The bridal suite was amazing, a huge spacious room, with a large modern bathroom and stunning views from the large sash Windows. The food was amazing, from the canapés to the wedding meal and the evening hot and cold buffet, we really could of hoped for anything more. The new clubspa is stunning, un-equaled by anything else in the area, and made for a great wind-down spa day post-wedding! All in all we cannot thank or recommend the Kenwick team enough, they go above and beyond to make sure the day is perfect.

    « Flying visit »

We stayed here as a base for attending a wedding celebration about 10 miles away. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful on arrival - we needed to check in quickly as we were under a bit of time pressure to get to the event. Set in lovely grounds next to a golf course and there were very pleasant views from the restaurant. Breakfast average (but could have been a bit hotter). We liked that the tables were a good size so you were not constantly having to juggle everything round to stop things falling off. Room was spacious and clean, albeit a little tired (scruffy sealant around bath/shower panels). Very odd that when turning on the cold tap in the hand-basin hot water came out for about 10 seconds. Bed comfortable.

    « Lodge stay »

Stayed here for 2 night weekend with family and had a great time. The leisure facilities were still being upgraded when we stayed so no swimming pool etc but this did not detract from a lovely weekend. The lodge we had was at the end of a row so plenty of room for 2 cars. The lodge itself had 3 bedrooms and it was huge, plenty of space for 5 people and a dog! Had everything we needed for a girly weekend - tv/ dvd, large verandha with table and chairs etc. Walked the dog around the site on the trails which were good even when muddy. Only 5-10 minute drive into Louth for shops etc but area itself is nice and quiet. Would definitely go back here now the leisure facilities are re-opened.

    « Golf Break »

Booked a golf break at the hotel and adjoining Keswick Park Golf Club for 4 couples. For some reason, maybe a wedding party ,but we were accommodated in 2 log cabins on the hotel site. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise and thoroughly enjoyed by all. We ate in the hotel for the evening meal and breakfast. Both meals were of excellent quality and we were attended by friendly attentative staff. The main reason for attending the venue was for 2 rounds of golf. What an absolute gem of a golf course . Will definitely recommend it to friends for either a weekend or a day trip. The club house is extremely welcoming and the menu extensive , great value and of a very high standard. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

    « Birthday Break »

We stayed in this hotel last year & decided to come again this year. Due to my husbands disabilities we booked a downstairs family room as the curved stairs are too difficult for him.We very much recommend this hotel however we were disappointed to find out that you can't use the brand new leisure complex after 10am on the day of departure, check-out is 11. The new complex is amazing, with pool and various water features. My daughter & I had a massage and were able to go in the relaxation room. I'll definitely be back to use the spa and the hotel again.

    « good hotel »

hotel facilities were good but nearest town, Louth is about two miles away on a busy main road so you need a car. no restaurants, places of interest or facilities close to the hotel. some building work going on within the grounds so sometimes difficult to get out of the drive, though this should be completed soon. adjoining golf course is well used and hotel seemed popular for golfing weekends.

    « Wedding party »

A charming hotel. Friendly staff and quick check in. The hotel offers golf are spa facilities and is set in beautiful grounds. An ideal location for a wedding ceremony and reception. Rooms are spacious and very well appointed. A hot self service breakfast is included in the room price.

« Lovely, clean but could be just a little better »

Stayed here wile at Cadwell Park. Very very clean and a huge room. Couldnt understand why the wardrobes were so massive, One side had 8 huge drawers, the other a huge wardrobe. The bathroom was incredibly large, but had no bathtub. No Bathrobes or slippers, which I thought for the price of the room, should have been supplied. One thing that amused me was that if you requred wash cloths, you had to as reception! Restaurant food was average to good. Amazed that although I chose the set menu, when it camt to dessert, I was informed that the chef had gone home! At 10pm! Come on Manager, sort your kitchen out...if there are customers in the restaurants give them the chance to order a sweet, not just scamper home! Not impressed. All in all it was an expensive stay and more should be offered for it.

« A DAY SPENT AT KENWICK PARK HOTEL »

I spent a full day at this venue as I had been invited to a friends wedding . The day was well organised and the food good . My only criticism was the bar quality . Most of the young staff have to learn to smile whilst serving customers . This comment was made by many others waiting to be served drinks at very expensive prices .

« Really lovely family stay. Could have been cleaner though »

We stayed in the lodges on the estate, not in the hotel. This was a really nice place to stay. We loved having lodges in the woods. I didn't organise or pay for my stay so can't comment on the cost or how easy it was to book or find help but I did have to pop into reception and would rather have not. We went to ask about a swimming pool and were made to feel very out of place and like we should have already known all the details we were asking for. The lodges were large and comfortable although not clean. I spilt water on the floor int he bathroom, when I cleaned it up it was evident the floor had wee on it that had been cleaned up. There were various stains on the carpets and the overall feel was not clean. It was particularly nice having an outside area specifically for our lodge and the ones we had were on an edge and were quite private. There were what seemed to be entrance doors into an entrance hall but they were locked and there was no key that we could find which was really inconvenient as we had to go right around the entire building to the back patio every time we wanted to go in or out which was particularly tricky when first arriving or leaving with all our luggage. The site was quiet at night which was nice but there was no feeling of having to be silent outside. The lodges are separated enough that you can comfortably chat outside without disturbing anyone else. There were woods to walk through and a golf course we took a walk around, both were lovely. We had breakfast in the hotel on the last morning and this was really nice

« Tranquil setting, wonderful staff »

We were a party of six friends sharing a lodge in the woods in order to attend a wedding at the Best Western Hotel. The lodge was spacious with three double bedrooms (one of them en-suite) and a good-sized bathroom. The open plan sitting room/kitchen was cosy with plenty of furniture and well-equipped for cooking. We loved the wrap around deck, the trees, the birdsong and the bluebells, and the absence of road noise. We could have happily spent a week there, and my young grandsons would have loved it. The receptionists at the Best Western were just the Best Staff, both during the booking process and during our stay - a real credit to their employer. A surprise bonus was the shuttle bus which ferried us back to our lodge after the wedding in the hotel. All in all, a great stay.

« Nothing too much trouble »

Just celebrated our friends wedding. I have to say the staff were amazing. Every little detail was exactly as they wanted. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and spacious and breakfast was yummy. Would stay again.

    « A good location »

Staff and sleeping facilities were very good. Great value. The requirements state that you can pay by cash or credit card when you leave. They took payment by card 24 hours prior to leaving without telling me - I wanted to pay cash! This meant I had to claim back money from friends. The correct amount was taken. Staff were good. I felt the web site was misleading in that it suggests that the new gym was finished in early 2016 - it is not and there is a temporary gym. No toilet brush - otherwise the accommodation was spacious and very much above average. Shower leaked....

« Excellent golfing weekend in beautiful location. »

Eight of us enjoyed 2 rounds x 18 holes, dinner, breakfast and an overnight stay for £109!! Rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. Staff were polite and helpful. Plenty of parking spaces. The food was "okay", standard breakfast cuisine and okay dinner. But hey, not complaining, just stating how it was. Kenwick is a lovely hotel, in a beautiful setting and offers great value.

« utterly dissapointing saving grace was the ladies in spa »

Was given a voucher titled woodland land warmer for 2, upon trying to book was told their was a £60 fee for 2 ( not the right title for package) so we could stay in the hotel instead. Booked and got confirmation for the 12th. Upon arriving the reception told us we are booked for 13th dispite my confirmation saying 12th. Waited to see if we could stay which we were allowed. Wasn't given one sorry despite it not being our fault. Room was nice, food was nice but staff are clueless, we had to ask for everything. No one asked if we wanted a drink, if we had a table if we where okey as we waited. The prices on cocktail menu differ from the prices they charge. Seems like they've just given up until the relaunch and don't care. Was woken at 5 by the lady being sick in next bathroom and 7 45 by builders drilling near our room. Upon checking out wasn't asked if everything was OK so didn't really have chance to say. It was probably the worse spa break we have ever been on! ( the spa treatments where however great, best massage I've had) .

    4
    « Lovely staff »

Arrived and checked in and was pleasantly surprised to see my room was what looked like a converted cottage away from the main hotel. The room itself was huge and very clean and tidy. I opted to get a bar snack instead of eating alone in the restaurant. When I enquired whether or not I could take my meal back to my room the staff were excellent and put a big metal dome over my plate to protect it from the elements and even offered to carry the tray all the way to my room! When I politely declined the offer she insisted on taking it to the main door for me as it was an old, heavy door that may have caused me to drop my tray. Little touches like that last long in the memory and make an average stay a memorable one. As someone who lives in a different hotel every night, I tend to lose track of where I am and where iv been, but this hotel certainly would be one id return to for pleasure.

    5
« Excellent hotel, handy for Cadwell Park »

Booked for an overnight stay while working at Cadwell Park. Well appointed furnishings as befits this large hotel, my room overlooked the garden and lawns and was immaculate. The restaurant was busy and unfortunately on the evening I ate there was table d'hote, possibly because there was a wedding on in another part of the hotel and the kitchen was busy, no problem I understand these things happen, however the meal was very well presented and perfectly adequate. The bar area in the conservatory was a very pleasant place to spend the evening, I would most certainly stay here again.

« Good for Sunday Lunch! »

It was the occasion of my fathers 90th birthday and we wondered where to go that was not a huge distance from the parents home in Louth. Kenwick came up. What a good choice! Freshly-cooked, well served food and pleasant surroundings, topped off with efficient and friendly waiting staff. Well done to all!

    « A very enjoyable stay »

Stayed 4 nights (B & B) and dined 3 nights. Overall a very good and enjoyable stay. Service really was 5 star and while the evening menu lacked a little choice the food was of excellent quality, nicely presented and served expertly. The room we stayed in (305) had a four poster bed and was very specious and comfortable with ample storage space and a three seat leather suite. The bathroom was large with a lovely walk-in shower. We thought there could have been more storage and shelves for toiletries. We would certainly stay again and recommend it to our friends. Well done Kenwick Park Hotel.

    3
    « Lovely massage »

The beauty/spa facilities are still in cabins at the moment due to the fire, so it wasn't the most relaxing experience schlepping all the way from the hotel down to the cabins in freezing cold. Having said that, our therapists were fab and the massages were excellent. Afternoon tea at the hotel wasn't great. I've been before and it's been better. Bread was a bit dry as if the sandwiches had been made in advance. Hopefully once the big refurb is over, they'll be back on form.

« Superb Hotel in Stunning Gounds »

Everything about this hotel is top notch, we had a lovely stay in a fabulous room with a huge shower room and a stunning view down the fairway. The only thing that marred this stay was that despite Best Western listing this hotel as having spa facilities there were none. It was explained that a new spa was almost complete and to compensate us the kind assistant manager gave us a voucher to return and sample the new facility, which we're very much looking forward to doing!

« Just what we needed - excellent »

We were in the area to attend a funeral, so not the best of circumstances. Kenwick Park Hotel was a lovely place to stay. Situated in very pleasant parkland/golf course, the hotel was beautifully clean & tidy, and the staff helpful and kind.We enjoyed a well cooked evening meal, and breakfast was also tasty. Were those Lincolnshire sausages? If so, that may have added to it. I thoroughly recommend the place.

    « Perfect Destination »

Enjoyed a night at this wonderful retreat. Room was as expected with plenty of 'nice' touches. Staff very friendly on arrival and was politely asked if dinner reservation was required? Even when I said No the receptionist was still very polite. Comfortable nights sleep, breakfast was served by waitress and was pleasant on the palate. Wonderful country location, golf course and spa and presently undergoing a large refurbishment so would like to go back once it is complete

    « Excellent Kenwick Park »

I have just returned from a 2 day golf break at Kenwick Park. The hotel accommodation is excellent. The food superb and the staff friendly and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The golf course was rather wet due to lots of rain prior to our visit and was closed on our third day after heavy overnight rain. We were presented with a voucher for a complimentary round of golf to make up for this. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. A lovely break.

« Lovely golf break and beautiful hotel,. »

We arrived with friends for a 2 day break, we very very impressed with the hotel, it was spotlessly clean, very nicely decorated with beautiful views over the golf course. The staff has to be praised for their attention to detail, they were so friendly, and a pleasure to be around. I had the goats cheese starter, fathitas and ice cream which I have to say we're wonderful, the steaks and pork belly were equally as nice. The star of our stay had to be the cooked breakfast, wow was I surprised, an amazing plateful of food. Thank you everyone for a lovely stay and we look forward to seeing you again. ,

« Left hand, right hand! »

Stayed at this hotel recently as part of a one night, two rounds of golf offer. Arrived at venue at 10am only to be told the room would not be ready until mid afternoon. No problem as went and played golf. On our return after playing golf and visiting the clubhouse returned to our room which had the heating fully turned off. The wind chill factor meant that outside temps were 0 degrees, yet the heating had not even been turned onto low. Not a very comfortable start and costs put before the comfort of guests. A sauna and steam them seemed ideal solution. Given directions by the receptionist to follow signs for leisure centre. After wandering around outside in a building site was then informed by a guy at the gym that the facilities weren't even built yet. Check the web-site carefully, completion early spring not early enough for us. Returned back to room to find tv remote missing and i - pod music system not working properly and large digital time displayed wrongly and unable to correct. Have to say that the evening meal was fine, though little atmosphere in restaurant. Breakfast next day was adequate followed by another round of golf. The golf facilities were fine but disappointed to learn that the clubhouse stops serving food at 3pm on a Sunday and prices in hotel restaurant expensive so came away cold and hungry. It would seem that when it suits them, the hotel and golf club are separate entities yet golf breaks are booked together. This hotel seems more interested in being a wedding venue, so golfers take it as you find it. Our group has stayed in better.

    « Lovely steak »

My husband and I came for the steak night we both had starters,I had white bait, my husband had Spanish platter, followed by gammon and myself the steak which was mediem rare, cooked to perfection. The staff were excellent all very polite and attentive. For the two courses and a bottle of wine for £29 it was very good value. The previous review saying the steak was bloody and they didn't want to complain,Why didn't they say at the time as the staff come back several times to ask if everything's ok.

    « A let down »

Having booked this as the wife had stayed before, this was a special date at the end of term for my wife, all I can say is the reputation of the hotel is not as good as the actual stay. The bathroom was in need of some maintenance and as they are asking for top dollar then they should provide top quality. We had the steak night meal, the soup was lovely but the steak on the wife's plate was flowing with blood, having asked for medium to well done, she then had the cinnamon and plum crumble which she left as it was not good. Because we are to polite to complain she did not voice her complaint to strenuously but did let the waitress know that the pudding was not good and tasted horrible, this is not a hotel that will be recommended by me.

« Very friendly and polite. Fantastic stay! »

We booked the woodland warmer package which included a 3 bedroom cabin, 25 mins treatment, 2 course evening meal and breakfast for £79 and was very pleased with the service of everyone and the quality of the meal. The cabin it self was a little worn... the front door was extremely difficult to open and by the evening we decided to just use the patio doors to the rear but this didn't dampen the stay. The lodge has everything you need and is very warm and comfy. The treatments were done professionally and the therapists where lovely and polite. Shortly before our evening meal we was picked up in the shuttle bus and taken to the main hotel. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed our dinner. Again all the staff where very polite and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was more then adequate with a choice of hot English breakfast foods, toast and jams, pastries and cereals. You could also order scrambled and poached eggs. Overall we was very happy with our stay and think it is fantastic value! Would definitely stay again!

« Two night stopover for wedding »

On arrival we were told the leisure facilities would not be open till April we were not informed of this and my son was told it would be open for his wedding, we were given a room overlooked a building site, but the manager moved use to a better room but that was above the bar was very noisy till 12,30 at night, food and the staff were very good no complaints in that department, the wedding venue was excellent

    « Great for a weekend stay »

We found all the staff were really helpful - we were booked on a 2 night winter break and had a superior room with a great view across the golf course and park. The room was spacious and very clean with a modern well equipped bathroom. We had dinner in the hotel on both evenings, Friday evening was "Fish Night" which offered 2 courses for 2 people and a bottle of use wine for £29.95 - very good value.

« Not as good as I expected »

Both mornings there were no croissants,Even when I asked the first morning I was told that they had run out. No bread rolls only sliced bread. Danish pastries where the worst I have ever seen, I thought that they were sausage rolls until I asked. I could continue but the selection was very poor.

    « A Very Fine relaxing stay. »

A very friendly and comfortable place to stay. Food is good and the staff are first class. The hotel is situated in next to an 18 hole golf course and is very quiet and relaxing. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last ten years, and will return many times more as long as I can drive to the area. In all the times I have visited this hotel I have enjoyed staying here. If in the area and this hotel is not available I am sad to have to stay in another hotel.

    « Perfect. »

Stayed over at a Ball. The food at the ball was disappointing on cold plates and tiny portions. However we booked for Sunday lunch the following day after our spa treatments. The Sunday lunch was a cavery and it was good as was breakfast. We stayed in a 3 room which was compact but brilliant for what we needed. Also enjoyed our spa treatment, looking forward to the opening of the new spa.

    « A really personal service »

We have had a number of parties for friends and family here and have not been disappointed in any way. The food, rooms, breakfasts and response to personalised requests have been dealt with in a friendly and efficient way.

    « Nice..........needs updating »

I only stayed one night and the hotel was ok. Set in massive tree lined grounds. The reception was very welcoming and my room was ready straight away. The room was comfy enough and clean with king size bed and decent size TV (free view). The en-suit was in desperate need of an update/referb. I wanted to use the leisure facilities but unfortunately it was closed due to redevelopment and the gym had been squeezed into a portacabin and was not really up to much. The restaurant was nice with a good selection to choose from, I can highly recommend the chicken fajitas. All in all not a bad stay just needs updating hence the 3 stars

    « An Excellent Hotel »

I had business in Grimsby so looked for a hotel south of their so my drive home would be a little shorter and could not have found a better hotel for the price. Although it was in the winter I could see the hotel had lovely grounds and a new spa facility with pool and gymnasium is due to open in April. The room was beautiful and very large and the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. All the staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. Will stay again.

    « Excellent Sunday lunch »

Booked for Sunday lunch with husband and 2 friends as we had vouchers to use in the restaurant. I am not a Sunday lunch fan as I do not like roasts, gravy etc. However we had been informed that there were other things on the menu. When we arrived we were seen immediately and ordered our drinks. We wandered over to the carvery to have a look....I immediately said I would have this as there was a fish choice as well as meats and the accompanying choices of veg etc. looked very good. Shortly after the waitress came over and said she would call us in a few moments if we were ready, she just wanted to check that all the food was topped up and was ok. She duly did this and we went to collect our meals. Everything was presented nicely, well cooked and was delicious. Could not fault anything. My friend said it was the best Sunday lunch she had ever had. We followed our mains with puddings...both good again and the men had cheese and biscuits. We thought at £12.95 for 2 courses or £15.95 for 3 was excellent value for the food and service we had. We will definitely return.

    « Good for business »

3 night stay on business. Quite suitable as close to Manby and good size room with comfortable bed. Could have been bigger desk with chair (only a stool) to work on but otherwise ok. Dinners good. Breakfasts ok, but after 8.00 the buffet food was a little dried up. Friendly helpful staff.

« Lovely grounds, nice hotel »

Stayed here last week for one night. Lovely hotel, reception and restaurant staff very polite and pleasant. Had a lovely evening meal. Plenty to choose from on the menu. I would recommend the chicken liver parfait. Only down side was my room. Whilst it was nicely decorated and warm with no concerns with the actual room, I was in an annex, separate to the main building, and felt quite isolated and vulnerable. If I booked again, I would request a room in the main building. Overall though a very nice stay!

« Lovely location and good value »

Despite other reviews we found this hotel very pleasing. It was easy to find, large brown tourist signs off the main road, friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms. We made a last minute booking and so had very little choice of room. I was slightly scepticle as rooms can vary enormously in Best Western Hotels and we generally go for a superior or exec room rather than a standard room. There was no need to worry here, the standard room was more than ample with a very comfortable bed. Crucial to me as I have a rubbishy back. We ate in the restaurant, Thursday night is steak night, and both the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was equally as good. We would definitely return if ever in the area. Oh and by the way, market day in Louth is worth a visit too along with the amazing church in the centre of the small town.

« Excellent value, lovely location »

This was my second visit to Kenwick Park, My plan was to stay in Grimsby for my business meeting there, but when looking at room rates it turned out that the best rate for a superior room at KP was cheaper than the best rate at the purple chain. My room was huge with 4 poster and 3 piece leather suite, as well as a new very large bathroom with walk in shower (no bath). The carpets in the bedroom were a touch tired, but the free wifi was superb. Even though it was a damp and grey early January day I went for a run through the woods and thoroughly enjoyed myself. There are lots of footpaths in the area, too, so if walking is your thing, a 1:25k OS map is definitely worth packing. I had a decent local pint of Bateman's in the somewhat characterless bar but enjoyed my seafood risotto for supper.Breakfast was also good with a hot and cold buffet style service and espresso available if you ask for it. My only criticism was that the water pressure in the shower was a bit feeble, which given that I'd got very muddy indeed on my run meant a longer time under it to get properly clean, Overall, an excellent value and relaxing hotel and I will definitely return. The new health centre being built next to the hotel looks spectacular and apparently is due to open in April. I'll be back at Kenwick Park to check it out. Be aware that if busy the hotel will book guests into its woodland lodges which are about half a mile away down an unlit road (no traffic). Might be an issue for people with mobility problems or need wifi. (See my previous review).

    « Gradual downhill direction »

My wife and I have been staying here several times a year for the last few years. We've always loved the location, the large bedrooms and general ambiance of the place and, equally as important, the staff, who always seem very well trained and willing to help, without being OTT. It's a good sign when you see the same staff at each successive visit. However, there seem to be more and more negatives appearing which, for simplicity, I will list...... 1. The food - at dinner, I had their 'soup of the day' which was 'leek & seafood' which sounds a bit weird, and was! I was served enough for 2 or 3 people, it looked like yesterday's cold porridge and was not really much like soup as we know it. My main course was a lovely piece of tender beef, in a lovely jus/sauce, but came with just 3 pieces of potato, each as big as a small home-cut chip. I therefore had to send for a portion of veg, which came with a few pieces of hard parsnip and carrot plus one piece each of broccoli and cauliflower. 2. At breakfast, the fruit salad always seems to be mostly chopped apple and we have to spend considerable time picking out the few pieces of tropical fruits which tend to normally have. The selection of bread is disappointing - all there was was sliced white and brown supermarket wrapped bread - no bread rolls, no baguette to self-slice. The cooked breakfast selection always seems to have been cooked an hour ago - the eggs are solid, the bacon has the white slime (from moisture in the bacon) on it and was past its best at 09h00, etc. 3. As the hotel was nearly full, I was put in the 'White Cottage Lodge' which is about 100yds from the main building. In the morning, when I went to breakfast, it was pouring with rain. I looked for an umbrella, which I assumed the hotel would supply for such occasions, but there was none. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she said 'Yes, other people had said that too and we have told our Manager a few times'!! 4. in my bedroom (405) the wallpaper was starting to peel off the wall in several places at the top, which would take a handyman 10 mins to stick back with a tube of paste. The toiletroll holder was coming off the wall (back of the door actually). Having said all that, I still enjoy staying here, but I think I'll give it 12 months until I return. I think the hotel needs to take heed of its current failings before they slide further down the slippery slope.

    « Very disappointed »

We arranged to stay at this hotel as it was where a friend of ours was having her birthday celebrations and we didn't have to worry about driving. I particularly was really looking forward to staying as we hadn't been away for quite some time and we know that the hotel is situated in beautiful grounds. We arrived early and were able to register and dropped our bags off into the room, great start. The room was large and roomy with two double beds, lovely decoration, although dark, but cold! From there we went to see our friends briefly before coming back to get ready. We got back, changed, then went onto the party (afternoon do). We did ring reception notifying them that the room was cold. As the celebration was during the afternoon, it was arranged that our friends would stay and join us for an evening meal at the hotel, only to be informed that the chef/s had left, not happy. Anyway we went back to our friends and had sandwiches. I went back to our room to change my shoes and a heater had been placed and it was now warm. The following morning, I went to have a shower before breakfast and no hot water......my husband rang reception again and was told that there is there's an issue with the boiler but we were offered another room to use! This didn't make any sense whatsoever as if it's the boiler causing an issue, then there isn't going to be hot water period! I boiled a kettle up so I could freshen up, by now I was very upset and our experience was ruined.

« This is mediocrity at its best »

On making a dinner booking for 6 people on Christmas Eve I asked 2 things; 1. Would an a la carte menu be available on the evening? 2. Did they cater for vegans and those with wheat and dairy allergies? The answer I was given to each question was an unhesitating "Yes". Turns out that that wasn't true. This was Christmas Eve remember; one of those special nights of the year when hotels and restaurants try to tempt you to come out. I knew as we walked down the hallway towards the dining room that this wasn't going to be a special experience in the way one would choose because (before arriving at the restaurant) we were 'greeted' by a large, portable, tubular metal, coat hanging rail. Not tucked discreetly to one side, gosh no, they wanted to make sure you saw it - that way you'd hang your own coats. Real class. So, we hung our own coats and as we sat down and were handed the menu it became clear there was no a la carte. It also became clear that the hotel didn't cater for vegans very easily - in the first instance, there was no vegan bread. No explanation, no apology, there just wasn't any. When the vegan asked our waitress "What vegan dishes are there?" the reply was "Anything you want". That wasn't a reply that instilled confidence. The vegan said she was expecting to be given a choice of dishes and the waitress said "You can have anything you want; the last vegan enjoyed a melon starter followed by a vegetable stir fry" and then left us all to make our eating choices. When the waitress returned to take our orders the vegan asked for a vegetable risotto - no, they couldn't do that - and then another dish. No, they couldn't do that either. ("Anything you want"???) So the waitress asked "How about vegetable stir fry?" (The same dish that the last vegan diner had eaten and seemingly the only dish that the kitchens were happy to prepare.) Ultimately we all ordered and ultimately ate. No the vegan didn't order the stir fry as we insisted on 1 of the dishes that she'd been told earlier wasn't available.) Whilst the staff tried to accommodate our party's dietary requirements, they clearly hadn't been trained to do so. Our sense was that some of the staff had been brought in just for the Xmas period, nothing wrong with that, as long as they are trained. Isn't that a reasonable expectation? The Christmas crackers which lay on the dining table were of the 'bottom of the bargain basement' variety and simply added to the overall impression that the hotel was trying to do the evening as cheaply as possible. I've never pulled such poor quality crackers. In all honesty it would have been better had the hotel not provided crackers - they were an insult. The food (vegan and non-vegan) on a scale of 1-10 scored 5. Mediocre fayre on a mediocre evening in a mediocre restaurant. The restaurant staff did their best but frankly were let down by a lack of training - just one more thing in which the hotel didn't invest enough money. I felt I'd been misled - no a la carte menu and they weren't able (in any professional way) to cater for vegans or those with wheat and dairy allergies. Would we go again? No. This wasn't just a bad night, the problems we experienced were endemic.

    « New Years Eve - Amazing »

Was booked in for New Year's Eve on the Best Western Bed breakfast and evening meal deal and can say only one word "Amazing". We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. A special mention to Cheryl who surpassed the word of customer service, she was superb and needs the recognition she deserves. The food was fantastic and we will definitely be returning in future months.

    « Do they know it's Christmas? »

On arrival we thought perhaps they did know it was Christmas. The hall and communal areas were beautifully decorated with very classy trees and decorations and there was Christmas background music playing. A good start and a quite cosy welcoming feeling. Weather conditions on Christmas Eve prevented a pre Christmas round of golf as was planned. Not the hotels fault but finding ourselves unable to play thought a nice bar lunch and a few drinks with our Christmas break companions would be the answer. It would have been had the hotel not decided that they were not serving any bar food, not even a sandwich, due to them serving a pre booked lunch in the function suite for non resident guests. No matter a very helpful waitress advised us of a local pub which we duly visited and a had a lovely time in a very Chrismas atmospheric hostelry. The draw back however being that this required a designated driver, which then negates the "park the car Christmas Eve and forget about it" principle to a Hotel Christmas break. On our return we moved our luggage into our room which without a doubt was very well furnished and immaculately clean but lacked the little gestures that all other hotels that we have stayed in at Christmas leave in the rooms, like a few chocolates, a basket of fruit or perhaps a mince pie. The room would have looked the same had we checked in in the middle of July. Having spent Chistmas in hotel for the last 25 years we looked expectantly for a programme of events as we have found on all other occasions, like a welcome cocktail with other residents, a pre dinner carol and Christmas song sing along, a Christmas themed quiz, anything that would suggest its Christmas. We found nothing!!! Un-daunted we went into dinner where at least some effort had been made by way of Christmas crackers on the table but the meal was very under average, after which we retired to the lounge area which apart from the continuing repetitive loop of the same Christmas cd, was as quiet a a morgue. Christmas limped in accompanied by a game of cards, our own cards we might add. Christmas morning began with an encouraging start of a lovely breakfast, plenty of choice and well presented. The rest of the morning was spent entertaining ourselves with Christmas quizes and crosswords found in the newspapers and then it was time for the main event Christmas Lunch!! What can we say that doesn't make us sound like perpetual moaners. Not much really. For a start it was a carvery, this was never indicated at the time when we booked, and a poor carvery at that. The Turkey was what they called Turkey roulade. Read reformed Turkey in a roll shape. The other options wwere roast beef or a fish of undetermined name. The starters were ok but only ok, the Christmas pud was served apparently with brandy sauce, we think the chef must have become teetotal over night and decided that we should all follow suit as there wasn't the slightest hint of brandy in the custardy accompaniment. All in all a very disappointing experience in a very large room full of residents and non residents and despite being beautifully decorated felt more like a works canteen. We have a local carvery pub at home which over the Christmas period were charging under £10 for a far superior meal with real Turkey carved from a crown and with much more choice for those not wanting the traditional lunch. I believe non residents were charged £55 at Kenwick which even factoring in the additional staff costs over Christmas seems scandalous. After lunch we went back to the lounge area which again apart from the ever present one cd was as quiet as the grave. In the evening a buffet was served to residents and we have to say was probably the best food served over the whole break. Sadly so , very few residents came into the buffet perhaps because the letter presented to us at check in stated this was at an additional £19, we checked this and it proved to incorrect. It broke our heart to see so much food laid out and then taken back to the kitchen which we understand due to food hygiene regs cannot be re presented. Boxing Day other than, due improved weather conditions, a game of golf was possible, was a repeat of the the other days. The hotel cramming the function room full of as many non residents as possible while the residents carried on listening to the ever present one cd. On the plus side the management did let us swap what should have been a three course lunch, for afternoon tea which was very good even though it had no Christmas cake as this had been thrown out from the night before as already mentioned. To sum up as fairly as we can. Kenwick park hotel is a lovely hotel set in a beautiful location, the rooms are very nicely furnished, the staff very welcoming and friendly but they just do not know how to do Christmas for residents and the food does not match its potential and needs to purchase another cd.

    « Christmas break. »

We arrived on Christmas Eve,first impression was good. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the staff very welcoming. We were disappointed to find that there were no Carols or entertainment of any kind during our 3 night break. The biggest disappointment was the Christmas lunch, which was a carvery and the turkey roll! Not very tasty. The dining room was huge serving hotel guests and diners from outside. The breakfasts on the other hand were good,a selection of fruit and cereal, hot dishes from the buffet and a selection of other things to order. Due to the lack of entertainment in the evening the public rooms were deserted and quiet ,with only the background music being played over and over again To sum up,a disappointing time

« Amazing, good value for money »

Stayed for a winter warmer spa break for the 2nd year running with 3 friends once again it was amazing lodge was a new one really nice, spa treatments were the best I've had and I've had a few had a back massage and a facial, booked afternoon tea which was really good, could have as much tea and coffee as you liked think we had 3 or 4 lots lol, even got a glass of sparkling wine with it well worth the £9 each, evening meal was good lots of options staff very helpful and friendly, zac was really good couldn't do enough for us, they provided a lift to and from the hotel from our lodge, breakfast the next day is really good quality products for the money we paid this hotel is excellent value will definitely be booking again for next year but maybe for 2 nights.

    « Serene »

This hotel provided sheer serenity and all that comes with it. The spacious environment is surrounded by a natural forest, an expansive golf course and lodges deeper into the woods. There is a variety of cuisines to sample from. The staff are quite friendly too. Spent 2 nights in Lodge 75 and it was wonderful. Good job.

    « A Very Fine relaxing stay. »

Always friendly and one of the best places to stay. The hotel and staff are keen to make your stay as good as it could be. The hotel is situated in quite country surroundings, and is convenient for coast or country. Will be returning as soon as I can think of an excuse.

    « A Relaxing Break »

My wife and I stayed at this establishment recently and we were impressed by the overall standards. The hotel is located well out of town in its own grounds thus providing a relaxed atmosphere. We found it without any trouble there being comprehensive signage. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly/business like receptionist, subsequently enjoying the friendly and helpful nature of the other staff members we encountered. The room was quite large with two beds. Both the room and bathroom were spotless with ample towels and the usual soaps etc. Tea and coffee was available with biscuits. We had opted for the half board option and had no complaints about the restaurant staff and service. The criticism I could make was that I ordered a rare-medium steak but found it to be overcooked, however it was tasty and succulent. On the last night of our stay there were two large groups eating but this did not affect the service we received.

    « Great Sunday Lunch »

Situated just outside Louth on Manby Road so no option other than to drive I'm afraid. the hotel is well signposted and accessed down a long drive through the wooded grounds. It is recommended to book for Sunday lunch as it can be very popular. I booked for 13.00 and my table was ready and waiting. order drinks and starters which are served to the table. The carvery is manned by one of the chefs and you are invited to visit when ready a selection of 3 meats is the norm along with self served vegetables which sound very ordinary but as a rule the vegetables are far from that..... If you have room you may also order from a short selection of sweets or cheese and biscuits and finish off with a coffee... The whole experience is unrushed so that you can enjoy the outlook over the nieghbouring golf course.... Well worth a vist

    « Good Value »

I stayed Kenwick Park and was very happy with the service received. The room was clean and comfortable and overall excellent value. Although this was only a single night's stay and I did not have dinner in the hotel, I will definitely stay again.

    « Lovely! »

There were a group of six of us staying at the Kenwick Park Hotel in Louth for a Charity Ball night. We were allocated lovely rooms (one was 306, the bridal suite, which was absolutely gorgeous). Even the standard doubles were lovely, with two double beds in each. The grounds are beautiful. There were just a couple of niggly downsides for me - one, the outside of the front of the hotel needs an ashtray to stop people throwing butts on the floor (I smoke but still didn't like it). There is a small ashtray but it was full of plastic shot drinks from the night before meaning we couldn't use it. We tried to go to the area outside of the bar to smoke, they had to force the fire exit open, which took some effort, then closed the door behind us so we still had to walk around to the front, bit pointless when I'd tried to avoid standing out the front of the hotel smoking! Secondly, we borrowed the iron and ironing board - the iron had thick black crap on the bottom of it and when you need to iron a white shirt, that's not good! Other than that it was lovely. I have to highly commend the two young ladies on reception, they were really lovely! Even saying what I have above, we would definitely recommend Kenwick for a break, it's beautiful, clean and comfy :-)

    « Overnight stop »

We needed an overnight stay, we were attending a Motorsport event at Cadwell. We had a lovely family room, Queen bed, and a double, large room. Stacks of hot water. Had dinner in the restaurant which was nothing special - an OK steak, seafood linguine for my other half. Pasta for my 12 year old which she said was "fishy" so I suspect she was given seafood linguine too, rather then the tomato pasta on the kids menu! She did, however love the Brownie. Decent breakfast. Our friends were staying in the Lodges which were nice. Overall, I thought the hotel was ok, a bit dated, but clean. I suspect the gardens would be lovely in summer. Handy for Cadwell, but at over £200 for dinner, bed, and breakfast, not the cheapest!!

    « Kenwick Park »

We visited during half term and had a very enjoyable relaxing stay. The hotel looks impressive and expensive but is also very welcoming. Relaxing lounge bar overlooking the golf course. The main restaurant is in a conservatory but was very warm and comfortable. Our family room was spacious and very clean and recently decorated . My only criticism would be that the bathroom was a bit dated although perfectly functional and clean. This is an old property and very charming. It was disappointing that the leisure centre is being rebuilt following a fire however we knew that prior to going. We will be visiting again when the leisure centre is re-opened.

    « Kenwick Park Lodges/Beauty Package »

This is for the lodges that are available. We booked a spa break for one nights stay in a 3 bedroom lodge, including a 25 minute treatment at the beauty lodge, a girls movie collection, a huge hamper of goodies and full english breakfast, £69. Bargain! Fantastic weekend. The hotel staff were very friendly on check in. My treatment at the beauty lodge was perfect (thank you Jayne or Jade, sorry I'm bad with names) should definitely have paid extra for a full body massage. The lodge was fantastic, way better than our expectations. Fully self catering with a huge kitchen diner area, cosy lounge, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The only negative comment I would have is the mattresses definitely need upgrading. Can't wait to visit again when the new building is up with the swimming pool and spa area. :D

« A Truly Honest and Long Review! »

This is going to be a very difficult review to write. On one hand, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean and we certainly had a nice time, but......at £120.00 per night for bed and breakfast, this hotel leaves a lot to be desired and needs a great deal of investment to bring it up to a standard which makes its prices fair. This is Lincolnshire, where 4* hotels are few and 3* Kenwick Park just doesn't "cut the mustard" in terms of its 4* prices. Our experience of the hotel began before we arrived, as we couldn't find it, despite sat nav, (a complaint other guests have made) My husband phoned the hotel and the receptionist was unable to direct him, didn't know what road the hotel was on , so she found another employee who also was unable to give us clear directions. We had to find a house and knock on a door for directions. The drive-way to the hotel was poorly lit, with confusing buildings scattered about. A pleasant Georgian facade, revealed a 1980s, characterless interior. A friendly greeting awaited us on arrival and we found our very small, twin-bedded room, cluttered with 1980s furniture and facing a building site,(more of which later) The wardrobe was scuffed and flimsy with an inadequate number of hangers within. The twin beds were very narrow, more suitable for children. Approximately an hour after our arrival, all the lights in our room went out and the receptionist informed us that as we had a dog, the only other "dog room" was full. Quite how she expected the three of us to manage in pitch darkness, myself, my dog and my disabled husband, I have no idea! But my husband simply told her to arrange to have the fuse fixed, which she did. On our first morning, two hair-dryers over-heated and cut out immediately, before a third one was produced which finally worked. The bathroom was very, very poor and below is a list of bathroom faults which reflects just how badly this hotel needs investment. 1. Peeling paint on wall. 2. Missing toilet lid 3. Wobbly toilet seat and actual toilet. 4. Broken toilet roll holder. 5. Wobbly taps on wash basin. 6. Faulty hot water thermostat, resulting in scalding hot water from both shower/bath/wash basin 7 No hot water at all on our second night 8 No hot water at all on our third morning 9.Sloping bathroom shelf meant nothing could be placed on it. Breakfast was uninspiring in the extreme-buffet-style, the usual packeted cereals, tasteless juices, make your own toast with seriously inferior bread. Sachets of butter were melting and accompanying jam and marmalade sachets, cheap. A fresh fruit bowl failed to appeal. There was a cooked to order option which was very satisfactory, but the pre-cooked sausages, bacon, beans etc were poor and of inferior quality. Breakfast staff were friendly and pleasant, but the room was over-heated and, particularly annoying, was the constant din of the television which competed with the piped music, so guests were treated to a stereo effect. Why TV had to be on at breakfast was a mystery, especially as "Rip Off Britain" etc, was totally ignored by all the guests who were breakfasting. Most of the grounds are a golf course and apart from a nice lawn, the grounds are a strange mess of a portacabin, lodges, waste ground and a building site, where a large structure is being built. Work commenced on this site at 8.0.a.m each morning, (apart from Sunday) and we were thrust into wakefulness by the thundering drills. "Carry on Abroad" sprang into mind. I mentioned that our very well-behaved dog was with us and, as always, I carried bags to clear up her mess. The problem was, that there were absolutely no bins whatsoever in the grounds to dispose of these bags, so I had to just dump them in unobtrusive places. There were no bins at all for any guests' rubbish disposal and this was a serious over-sight. Kenwick Park gives one the impression that it is run on a shoe-string and obviously makes money from its golfing customers, spa ladies and wedding packages, but we have stayed all over the world in hotels of all kinds, from budget to luxury and we expect a lot more than we received at Kenwick Park. A realistic room rate would have been £80.00 per room per night, B and B, so we paid £40.00 per night (total £120.00), well over the odds. We like to get value for money and we emphatically didn't get it here and for that reason, we shall not return, even though the staff were generally nice and the beds comfortable. Owners...,wake up.

    « Birthday »

Hotel was very nice an would certainly visit again. From the arrival you could see the quality of the surrounding areas and grounds. Easy to book in and then up to a very large room with four poster bed and separate bathroom which included a jacuzzi bath which had to be tried out. Very comfy nights sleep and then down for a lovely breakfast. Once eaten went for a lovely walk in the surrounding woods checking out the lodges which looked very nice for maybe a return visit.Unfortunately did not have a chance to use the leisure facilities but will do next time. Would definitely recommend trying tis hotel out and also the lovely town of Louth which is in close proximity.

« Great Hotel in beautiful country setting »

The Hotel is on the very edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds with woodland and golf course surrounding it. The room was larger than normal and very comfortable with 1 queen size bed and 1 king size bed (this seemed to be standard) the finish in the room and bathroom was to an excellent standard. The food was also of a high standard, served by very efficient staff. The staff made the stay even more enjoyable, as they all seem to smile and pandered to our every whim. I must particularly mention Adam & Emma for attending to us. Nothing was to difficult and they took every one of my requests with a calm efficiency. Thanks to them our Masonic function ran very smoothly.

Really hard to find if you don't know where you are going as Sat Nav can't find the exact location using the post code. But well worth the driving around in the dark to find it. The staff were lovely and the building and rooms were gorgeous.

« Good Hotel and Good Golf »

Kenwick Park. We had booked as a group to play golf they allowed us to check in before we played golf, so we could just collect our key cards later in the day. The the bedroom itself was lovely! As were all the public rooms. The staff were really helpful. The evening meal was super. Good choice of cereals, pastries, cooked breakfast items. The only down side was that we had to take our golf clubs to our rooms which was difficult for some of our ladies, having said that some were lucky and had staff to help them. It would be great if they could have a room to store the clubs overnight. Having said that I'm sure we would definitely stay here again.

    « GIRLIE BREAK »

Booked a cabin to celebrate a couple of birthdays, we had the log cabin, treatment in the spa lodge, 2 course meal in the main hotel, cocktail making included plus a big choice of breakfast the next morning, all for £99 each what a bargain. The staff couldnt do enough for you, they even pick you up at your cabin to take you for your meal and drop you back off with no extra charge, I would definitely have a return visit, its a lovely relaxing break. The cabin has everything you need as well only down side was the mattress not the most comfortable but for one night it was ok.

« Service second to none »

As a photographer it is important to me that, to get the best from a venue, I need the support of the staff. I can say that the staff at Kenwick Park could not do enough to support me. As i was also a guest at this wedding i had my children with me which made it all the more important that i had assistance from the hotel. From the minute I arrived I was greeted by Cheryl at reception who showed me to the brides room and was on hand should I need anything. I requested that the carpet be laid in the gazebo if possible as I wanted to use it for some shots. This was done straight away by Zac and it was invaluable for the shoot. Adam who was in charge of the organisational side of the ceremony was tireless and relentless in his pursuit of perfection and communicated with me constantly as he organised guests and bridal couple to ensure a smooth and worry free day. On the guest side the service was exemplary and prompt. The building was decorated to a high standard and was warm and inviting. The food was superb and served swiftly and hot. The staff were polite and approachable and on hand to offer service and assistance wherever and whenever needed. As an overall experience from both a professional and personal view I was very impressed and hope that this will not be my only visit.

« Substitute hotel but pleasing. »

We were originally booked into the Brackenborough booked via Expedia however an hour before setting off from home I received a call to say they couldn't honour the booking as they were full but they could arrange for us to stay at the Kenwick park. Upon arrival all was fine - checked in no problem. The room was lovely but the bathroom was annoying! The shower head was rubbish and sprayed water everywhere. The shower screen leaked so there was a massive puddle on the floor. Then the cold water tap was hanging off! Such a shame as the bedroom itself was lovely! Breakfast was also fine. Good choice of cereals, pastries, cooked breakfast items. Would definitely stay here again.

« Our daughters wedding day »

Saturday 5 th Oct.2015 was the day of our daughters wedding. They both chose this hotel for their ceremony and reception. From start to finish was a brilliant experience. The staff couldnt have done a better job, they were absolutely fabulous... Adam, and the rest of the staff made a perfect day for us. They were able to accomodate 2 fire engines too and we also had a guard of honour.. Do not hesitate to hold your wedding or any other event you might want to celebrate here... ..
