Room was very clean. Good beds.staff was nice. Well maintained property with 2 pools. No restaurant. Breakfast was ok- hot foods fine, cold were mostly lower quality. Was probably overpriced - my fault for not rechecking the site pricing that week- but I looked that day and better prices were at other decent hotels.
Mattress hard and very hard to get in and out of!! The waffle are tasty but some of the people take to much and waste. Loved our room overlooking the river. The swimming pool relaxing. The kids still jump off the sides and splash parents don't supervise enough!!!
My husband and I spend the first two days this month at Woodwards White Mountain Resort by Best Western. It was very clean, comfortable, modern and very friendly. When we first arrived, Rose noticed I had a knee problem and changed my room to a first floor so I would have as comfortable walk as possible to my room. She just exudes pleasantry from the first time you walk in. The landscape is just beautiful and very well cared for. Our room was modern and comfortable. Besides 3 comfortable sitting chairs in the room as well as an end table. There is a table and 2 chairs outside the room to sit at that we brought inside our room to eat at. The bathroom is spacious with a very large shower that has glass sliding doors. The tv service had a guide with plenty of channels so that made viewing better than a lot of places we have stayed. Coffee was provided in the dining area 24/7 and the hot breakfast was very good. I was very surprised to find such a nice comfortable hotel with prices lower than many others during peak leaf season.
-Awesome resort with a great layout and tasteful renovations -Personnel are very helpful and courteous -Location is amongst several other resorts in the immediate vicinity but the price and quality sets the Best Western apart by a mile. Will be staying there again
A classic American Motel 😃 very good for your budget, if you stay in summer a waterpark is very close. Nothing to complain about it; would recommend this one without any doubts to families who need a overnighter 😃 Little nice playground; indoor and outdoor pool 🙌🏻
This was a little gem! We were traveling thru New England and planned to visit the White Mountains of NH during our trip. We enjoyed this place so much that we stayed an extra day! The room with the Mountain View is absolutely amazing… especially with the duck/fish pond. We sat outside our room and soaked it all in! It's very serene and peaceful! They have nicely updated a lot of the facility. The rooms clean and wonderful! There is a very nice indoor pool and hot tub as well as a game room. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling near Lincoln!
The location was perfect for us. We were treated with friendly service. They helped direct us to where we could find dining in the area. One of their suggestions was fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate in staying at this hotel again. The room was fantastic.
Beautiful Property ...... we loved watching the trout pond. Easy location to all attractions in the Lincoln, New Hampshire area. The Outdoor pool was very clean and the indoor pool and hot tub were great. Enjoyed a game of pool. Rooms were very comfortable.
The are doing daily renovations to only make the resort better! We enjoyed our stay so much we added an additional night. My pup enjoyed being on our deck and greeting people as they walked by, my kids enjoyed playing basketball ball, corn hole and swimming. The fire pit was great to just relax at night. The room was newly renovated and included a mini fridge and a microwave.
Pet friendly rooms available! 2 pools, indoor & outdoor. Breakfast is buffet style... not great but better than nothing although I miss the regular waitstaff/restaurant. Absolutely needs more vending machines but they do sell a small variety of snacks at the front desk. Right next to whales tale, Clark's trading post and Franconia Notch with all its attractions! No TV guide so blind on channels and have to ask for a remote with input control if you bring a streaming stick or gaming unit. I've been going to this hotel (amongst others) since the 1980's. Would recommend especially if you have a pet and want to stay in the area.
This resort is a little gem! Very clean room and great location! The property is beautiful! I especially loved the fish pond! The breakfast was standard for a free breakfast, but the breakfast room was very welcoming and clean! We ate by the back window and watched people feed the fish… it was a very nice stay!
There are many hotel options in the Lincoln area and we are so happy we chose the Woodword Inn. My mom and I found our room very comfortable. Although you can hear (not see) a highway behind our room facing the babling brook and trees, the noise was like white noise and not noticeable for sleeping. This hotel is very quiet and is a 5 minute drive outside of the restaurant and shopping area in Lincoln. 3 minutes to Flume Gorge (which is a must see if you like nature and water falls. It's an easy 3 km hike). Hotel staff are very friendly. The grounds are well kept with various activities to do (ie, shuffle board, corn hole, tennis, etc). The outdoor pool is not heated and was still too cold to go in for July. The indoor pool is very busy in the evening. The hotel is quiet during the day as everyone is out enjoying one of the many activities in the area. The included Breakfast had many options. If ever back in the area, we would definitely stay here. One perk (minor, but noticeable) was the non-fogging mirror in the bathroom after a shower!
Went with family. Clean room and the hotel had lots of amenities for adults and kids. The breakfast options were great but go early. Gets busy later in the morning. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Full of children in hot tub and sauna screaming and leaving snot everywhere. They should change the policy as adults cannot enjoy the amenities and parents are aholes allowing this kind of disturbing behavior from their children ruining other people experience and expectations
It felt uncomfortable, a little unsafe. Front desk was lackluster, for example, we informed of significant mold in bathroom and response was a stare…. Ceilings were very low. It had been renovated tastefully and aside from the mold, appeared to be clean. Breakfast was standard continental.
I had amazing experience at the hotel. Staff were super friendly and attentive to customer needs. At the Front desk Bota and Rosa were very sweet and friendly and took care of me and my daughter to make sure we had a great experience and made our stay so wonderful . Thank you ladies for your professionalism, being so sweet and for all the attention to our needs. We had a fantastic weekend thanks to you and are very grateful for this experience.
Breakfast was disgusting and cable TV was awful. The room was nice and don't think we'll (my husband and I) will be going back any time soon. Not sure I would recommend it as well. Would've been nicer if the restaurant (White Mountain Tavern) which is part of the main building was open. May have made it a bit more fun.
Surprisingly nice place. Rooms were very big and comfortable. Ac worked well. Plenty of amenities with 2 pools, pol table, tennis courts, etc. It was a shame the pub/restaurant was closed but full breakfast was good. Didn't hear neighbors.
Hotel had a wonderful location. Extremely friendly staff. They all took care in their work they were doing. I do think that it's a bit overpriced for the stay, but you couldn't beat the location if you are there for the water park, downtown dining. My only feedback is they need to offer a softer pillow option. All pillows were extremely firm, and it made for a tough time sleeping if you like a softer pillow.
This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The location is perfect for enjoying the White Mountains and close to towns with restaurants and activities. The price was right and there's enough to do if you get a rainy day.
Such a beautiful place to stay with amazing amenities! Would be 5 stars if it was ADA compliment. Unfortunately I wouldn't take my wheel chair bound mother here because there are 0 ramps or lifts. If they fix this issue it would be a perfect place for everyone of all ages!
Would not recommend. We are seniors and stayed two nights they put both couples right in front of parking lot being tarred the smell and inconveniences were awful could not use AC or open windows . We complained they said sorry. I complained corporate inn gave us 28.00 reimbursement disgraceful they never offered to move us with 90 units there . No consideration for their customers. Plenty other places to stay
Staff friendly. Rooms smell musty. Cleaning supplies leave an awful odor. Breakfast good with decent assortment. Inside pool had strong chlorine smell. Outside pool nice and clean. Front desk did attempt to correct the issues but were unable.
First time stay at Woodwards Resort though we have stayed at many others in the area over the years. Our room was very clean, nice shower, comfortable beds, new patio chairs and table overlooking a running stream below. The room must have been redone not too long ago as it didn't show any wear .Many of the places around here have been here forever and some really show it. This is also ski country and many are open year round. The hallway, indoor pool / jacuzzi, outdoor pool, and grounds were all clean and well kept. the pool also has umbrellas and lounge chairs which also looked fairly new. The duck and trout pond is a unique feature with circulating water with actual stocked trout that were rising, but the ducks were not missed as they can be a nuisance. The grounds have various activities that a group with kids might appreciate wit well kept grass and even a gazebo to sit in. The breakfast was the typical self-serve affair with sausage and eggs, Belgium waffle, fruit, etc. Good enough to get you going with coffee. The bar and restaurant was not open and not sure if it will be. Good value for the money!
My son and I stayed one night in June 2024. I'm not exactly sure how I booked, but I know I wanted two queen beds. When we arrived we were offered two different rooms. 1. a slightly larger room but with pet rooms with dogs above, or 2. a smaller room . We took the smaller room and it was tight. This seems to be an older resort hotel that has been kept up in fairly good shape. The room was clean, the beds okay. Breakfast was not bad with a couple of hot selections and all of the other usual offerings and a large seating area. The adjoining tavern/restaurant was closed. All and all okay but not great.
This resort looks fabulous online on paper on the website the hotel was sold approximately 3 years ago to the Patel family which is a very large family from India depending on what tribe they are from they all pitch in together and their goals are to buy every single hotel in the US I have friends that are in this family from India upon checking the staff was everything but friendly I am very familiar with this exact resort as I have been going to this area for over 37 years the original owners were nice they would give you a free lobster dinner they would do everything for you to make sure you came back Time after Time the new owners they serve you a very cheap buffet breakfast that is anything but good the staff is not friendly they literally watch you 24 hours a day they live on site they don't trust anybody the duck pond has been closed since the new owners purchased the tennis court is not usable the walkway is not safe the brick walkway these new owners have never kept up with the property if you stay on the first floor in the back rooms the wooden rails are unsafe to lean on it's a million dollar lawsuit waiting to happen the rooms are starting to get run down the bedding is really washed this was probably one of my top three worst times staying at hotels up in Lincoln New Hampshire I would advise anybody in the world to stay far away from this hotel they're overpriced it's not worth it nobody's friendly they do not understand you when you speak to them I would rather stay at a motel 6 literally if you want a nice safe hotel where people understand you they respect you they respect you as a customer as a human and they will do anything to ensure your stay is nothing but the best I would highly recommend the profile hotel family owned you can stay in a hotel or a cabin the owners are so nice I would give them $6 if I could but woods would resort stay away from they ran my credit card for $150.26 hours after I checked out 100% illegal in every single weight shape and form I would not stay there free currently there's a lawsuit pending against them for that charge and I am able to sue them for triple damages I've never heard of any hotel charging you $150 after checkout I stay there in the month of May 2024 the air conditioning was not turned on but on the website it does say they have air conditioning heat etc I had to call the front desk and tell them that my air conditioner was not working they did advise me that they do not
We were traveling through NH and needed a place to spend the night. Woodward White Mountain Resort is a family resort in a mountain town. It has a few different types of rooms, an outdoor pool and a family feel. Our room looked like they just received a make over. The carpet and paint was new. The room was clean and quiet. They offer a breakfast in the main building. We would definitely stay there again!
The White Mountain Tavern has closed and now they have no restaurant on the property. The restaurant will truly be missed. It was so nice to have it part of the hotel. They had excellent food, staff, service, and entertainment on the weekend.
Resort has clean pet friendly rooms. Beds are comfortable. There are plenty of on site activities to keep the kids busy (pool, tennis, basketball, pond, playground, game room, fire pits) On site bar and restaurant offer a decent selection for picky eaters, and prices were on par with local restaurants. Location is incredibly convenient to western white mountains activities.
I want to start off saying I was a little skeptical booking here at first. I'm glad I did stay. We extended our getaway by a day and picked here. We had the room with the jacuzzi tub in the room. It was like we had our own cabin. Room 90 that was separate from the rest. The room was clean and bed was comfortable for sure. The jacuzzi was nice and filled up fast with very hot water. The pool area was nice and clean along with the sauna. We didn't eat there but other guests said it was great! The complimentary breakfast in the morning was the normal stuff and was good as well. I would stay here again.
pool railing loose unsafe. large stain on room rug that was known. pink mold/mildew in shower cornser and walls. back walkway railing in disrepair. lack of response from management , with ample time allowed. Having said that the staff was good with the exception of no repsonse as of this posting from management
We chose this hotel because it had pet friendly rooms. However the hotel is NOT pet friendly at all. Our pet could not go anywhere in the hotel and could not stay alone in the room. How can we enjoy the amenities? Also, the room was not cleaned before us and smelled really bad. The floors were dirty and we could not walk barefoot. The staff was not very friendly, they kept spying on us to see if we would do something wrong in order to charge us a fine. They called and knocked on our door everyday to see if we were checking out to be absolutely sure that we would not overstay check out time. It was not relaxing at all!!!
We have been going to this Hotel for 6 years as a family. We enjoy it. The hotel is clean, the staff are very nice, we enjoy the pool, hot tub and the game room. The restaurants and shopping is close by.
Filthy, unclean room. Carpets weren't vacuumed, found half used bar of soap in the shower, and to top of it, we found a previous guest's UNDERWEAR AND BRA under the bed blanket. The hotel only offered us a $30 refund. Stay away unless you like sleeping in others filth!
We booked the pet friendly room. That was our first mistake. The flooring was broken and left holes in the floor. I ripped my socks on it. We put a towel down so the dogs would not cut their paws on it. The room was freezing. The door had a gap in it so you could see outside. The draft was incredible.. The room was clean but I guess that is what you get when you book a pet friendly room. Bottom of the barrel so you don't destroy it anymore. Breakfast was good, although there were ants all over the floor in the dining area. Which after that, I couldn't eat there again. When I checked in, I had to wait a very long time ( 25 mins ) for the attendant to show up. He stated he was closing the pool. Ang it was 10:25pm. Overall it was an ok place. To Be honest, I would never stay there again, unless all other 84 hotels in the 10 mile area were booked. And lastly- after you have paid for the hotel and you are checking in- that is when they tell you there is a $20 fee per night per dog. So they charged me an extra $80. I wish they had put that in their original charge and been upfront....
This hotel is located amidst beautiful and spacious grounds with a small lake, running water and attractive landscaping. The room was clean and functional, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast room was very nice, as well.
So I rated this as a 3 because who ever took these pictures is amazing. Place does not look like the pictures. It's very basic. I went for Labor Day Weekend so of course it was overpriced times 10. But whatever… PICTURES ARE NOT THE SAME. It's not that nice. This would be a cool place if you went w a group of people or family. There is a pool it's small but cute… there are fire pits and corn hole and tennis courts. The indoor pool jacuzzi sauna area is typical. Smells like chlorine …. Rooms are clean and not stuffy. I did love my little room bc it was in the back and there was a little brook … we all slept w the sliding door open. It was soooo nice. I wasn't there really for the resort… I was there for sight seeing and activities w my friends. The breakfast: eh skip the powered eggs and stick w the yogurt maybe …. Other than that.. good experience
Needed to cancel because of the approaching hurricane and they would not refund the room, despite having booked a refundable rate. I was told they can't, and responded that they could but are choosing not to, to which he agreed. I was offered a discounted rate if I should go in the future, which I would never do considering the lack of understanding shown by the staff.
I looked for a very long time to find a place to stay that was in a great location, with free breakfast, great views and a great price. I found all that and more. We enjoyed sitting by the trout pond and were able to feed the fish. The ducks are right there with you while you do. We enjoyed the pool and game room, it was small but fun. The room was just right. There are many options to choose from. It was a great fit for us and we'll be back soon
The pictures on line were taken years ago! This place is dirty and run down. The super cute outdoor seating in the pictures is really a run down bench with cushions that sat out on the ground and strewn around the resort the entire three days we were there. The shuffle board is nearly none existence as the paint is so faded you can't even play. The horse shoe pits were overgrown with grass and the backstops were rotten boards. There was garbage all over the walkways we watched at least twenty employees walk by a banana peel, a plastic bag and an empty toilet paper roll for three days and it was still there when we left. The white bed spreads were stained and dirty. When I took the extra blanket off the shelf a pair of mens underwear fell out of it. I won't be staying here again!
This place was great it had so many amenities and the staff is great they are located in the heart of the mountains u cant beat this place I will be coming back again this was my second time here and i very happy overall because I'm usally a very picky person thank u for your great service
We really enjoyed our stay at Woodwards. It is a great choice for families with lots to do on property and in the area. Rooms were clean, and property was pretty well maintained. This was a quick trip for us, and I wish we had stayed longer so that we could use all of the amenities on property. Things we liked: pool was crystal clear, parking right outside our room door, lots of games and no-charge activities, location, good-sized fridge, microwave in room, vanity area separate from toilet/shower area. Things we didn't like so much: suite didn't have a sitting area, no locking door on bedroom, laminate flooring throughout our room was allergy friendly, but messy when coming back from the pool or after being out in the rain.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 days in August 2023. It's extremely close to the Franconia Ridge, the Flume Gorge and other hiking trails. It's also right next to a water park. We went hiking and we also went to Boston for a day (2 hour drive). The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was included and it was good (continental but with eggs, bacon, waffles, muffins, etc.). Indoor and outdoor pool with jacuzzi. Game room with pool table, air hockey and videogames. Overall, a great place to stay in the area.
My family used to stay at The Woodward decades ago on vacation in The White Mountains. My mom is getting up there in years so we brought her on a classic New Hampshire trip over the last several days and picked The Woodward for the nostalgia factor. The location could not be more perfect, it's a 10 minute drive from all the key areas on Franconia Notch: The Basin, Cannon Mountain, Echo Lake, The Flume, Clark's Trading Post, etc... The place still has the same charm of yesteryear but with more modern amenities. The staff was wonderful, room was super clean, pool areas were great for the kids (both indoor and outdoor), they've added in a playground and several outdoor congregation areas with comfy furniture. We didn't use them but many families were out there having fun. There's also a tennis court, wish I would have known so that I could've brought the rackets... The inclusive breakfast was great, continually stocked even though it was super busy with guests. Overall we couldn't have been happier. My only issue (very minor) is that they removed these little pay dispensers that had fish food for the fish in the pond on site. It's a little thing, but one of my fondest memories there as a kid was popping in a quarter and feeding the fish and the ducks. Hopefully they read my comment and bring back the fish food for next year! Will definitely be back here again.
Very friendly staff and nice room. We had the 2 bedroom one that shared the bathroom. It was separated by itself and our own parking spots. Beds were clean and comfortable. Will stay there again the next time.
Lovely location, clean and comfortable rooms, nice pool room with sauna and hot tub, and helpful, hard working staff who appeared to be family. The only downside was the breakfast which was beyond forgettable and the coffee undrinkable.
Ended up here after getting rained out of our campsite. Our stay turned a miserable wash-out of a day, into an amazing mountain retreat. Facilities were clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Indoor pool area was clean even though a little outdated. Loved the spa being connected to the pool; made for an easy cool down. Room had definitely been updated recently and our creek view patio was perfect for enjoying evening beers. The on site tavern was delicious. The maple aioli was addicting. As with most bargain resorts, there are always things that need ‘a little work' but overall our stay was great and we would definitely come back if in the area again.
The place is rundown and showing it's age. Not the worst place but I would not return. The pool area is a mess and not a dime was put into this place in over 10 years. I wish we went in the 1990's when this place was remodeled. The location is great with many family activities around the area. Loaded with kids from the nearby water park.
We enjoyed the waffles with breakfast. There was a great selection of foods to satisfy every family member. Pool and hot tub were great and loved the view of the mountains. We had family visiting from Iowa and they were blown away by the whole trip.
We booked this last minute so we were happy to get this place compared to others. Good stay, definitely seems like a fun place in the summer. I wish they took more pride in cleanliness. Bathroom floor was sticky, no hand soap in bathroom, and water stains on the shower. Our room had a jacuzzi which was fun. However, there was no vent system and only a small area of non-carpeted flooring in front so I was a bit concerned with potential black mold in the room.
Awesome hotel, close to everything. Spotless room, delicious breakfast and great staff. We really enjoyed all the breakfast choices. We could easily get to Loon mountain, cannon mountain and a short drive to Waterville Valley.
Awesome overnight in a cabin suite with jetted tub and excellent accommodations. I was able to get a late check out with no issue and enjoyed a clean room, privacy, and an excellent breakfast. I have stayed before and will definitely stay again
We just returned home from our trip to Woodward mountain resort and we have a wonderful experience! They moved us very close to the pool when we checked in so it would make it easy for us and the kids to easily enjoy it. The room was newly updated and very comfortable. We had a great little view of a running Brooke! I actually talked a nice gentleman at dinner who worked there and has been doing a lot of work around there with the new ownership and was a Carpenter his entire life. I was complimenting his work around the hotel I noticed. The food in the Tavern was absolutely delicious and I typically like my streaks at capital grille!! I was amazed with the server who was also the bartender and had an employee out sick that evening so he handled a room full of about 30 people extremely well! The cooks came out to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking. It was a very nice experience and awesome atmosphere with beautiful fireplace full of wood crackling away!! All together from check in to check out every employee was very friendly and extremely accommodating and we will definitely be returning again very soon :)
Clean with only the basics. Breakfast has a lot of space for improvement. Kindness and service of reception needs improvemt. Location of the hotel is ideal for trips in the mountains by car or hiking.
Updated rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are good and bathrooms are nice. The room door needed repair. There was wood casing around it that needed repair and the safety latch had been broken off making it unusable. The room was also fairly loud from outside noise. Could hear people talking outside very clearly. Heat was quite and sufficient. Breakfast area was pleasant. Grounds are fairly well kept and it looked like they were still working on updating the property.
We love this hotel. I put it in the top three Best Western hotels we've stayed at over the past ten years. Our room was tastefully redone, comfortable and very clean. Loved the extra sink outside of the bathroom. The breakfast area is roomy and clean. Good choice of breakfast foods, we'll prepared and appealingly presented. Staff is present ensuring all food choices are available and the area is clean. The grounds are also appealing and relaxing. Excellent stay.
The room was okay. When we first walked in, we noticed a dirty rag on bathroom counter. There was also a container of ice cream left in the freezer. Looked like it's been there awhile. The room itself was clean. It was quiet but I think it was because it wasn't very busy. There was a nice brook behind our room (#60). Breakfast was good, nothing fancy. Will look at other establishments next time.
The Good: I could bring my dog, spotless room, A+ Breakfast The rest: Going on a romantic trip? Run far away. Walls are paper thin (could here neighbor whispering), sauna was broken, unruly children, no pool upkeep (place was filthy), walls were all scuffed up. Online pictures look nothing like the hotel room, at least not in the double queen, pet friendly. Best part of the trip was leaving the room. Great location, tho. Leave the room and go on a train. Wastes romantic weekend. Really bummed.
It's the Highest price I've ever paid for one night in a hotel room and for me this is not a hotel it's a cheap motel by the side of the road. Breakfast starts at 7 am, it's a place where hikers go, so we pay the price of a breakfast we don't get. Should close the bathroom door from time to time to see the state of it. There were brown streaks and so much dust on the door molding. The bath needs cocking all around, so right now all the water is going into the wall. The room was very humid, I know why. I have asthma, it was so damp I couldn't sleep. Good point, bed comfortable and enough towels.
NOT recommended! Service is bad and Disrespectful. We choose this motel mainly because it's laundry services but there was no dryer and they didn't care, send us to do our laundrysomewhereelse. They didn't clean the rooms although we asked them several times. Beds are not comfortable and the bathroom is ok
This place was sparkling clean. Seems like it was recently renovated with fresh paint and flooring, nice new furnishings. Our room was comfortable and "disconnected" from the rest of the hotel... we had to walk in one door and out another and onto a deck to get to our room. Had to walk outside to get to the lobby and breakfast area which really wasn't a big deal. The breakfast area was huge and the woman working it was very attentive and kept everything well stocked and she cleaned vacated tables immediatley. The young man at the front desk could learn to smile more and be a touch more friendly. The older gentleman was much friendlier. Would probably stay here again.
The two not really friendly guys at the reception gave us a (redecorated) room very close to the highway (number 5). It smelled not nice and the display of the airconditioning seems to be broken. They told us that there was no other room available, the hotel was fully booked. I checked it on the website of booking.com through that I had booked the room 6 weeks ago and saw that I could easily book a room for tonight and the night after for a lot less - I paid USD 500 and now it was available for USD 400 for 23 and 24 September. There should be a thermostate on the wall for the airconditioning, they also told us, but we could not find it. I had booked two nights in this hotel to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. I expected a nice (mountain) view like I have read in the reviews. But this (view on the highway) was very disappointing and I am wondering why so many people gave 5 out of 5 for this hotel. Addition: the reception guy came on our request to our room and showed us that the thermostate (display spickled with paint) is hidden behind the television. So that was no longer a problem. The bathroom is great with a superb shower and breakfast is great too. So except for the (non) view the room is OK.
The resort is very nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was good but had the same hot foods every morning. The resort amenities were plentiful. There was an outdoor and indoor pool. There was shuffleboard and corn hole set up for anyone's use. Nice little playground. Everything was clean and well maintained.
The room was clean as were the beds and bathroom. The room had an odd smell that was not great. Highly disappointed in the included breakfast. Microwaved eggs and sausage not very appetizing. Staff seemed friendly, not too much interaction. Grounds were clean and well manicured.
On the morning of my checkout, at 8:30am I was sitting on the toilet, just waking up. I hear some taps at the door, and yell “I'm in the bathroom!” More taps. “I'M IN THE BATHROOM!!!” I quickly wipe and wash up, and open the door. There is some cleaning staff (middle aged Indian gentleman) outside and I asked him what he wanted. He said he thought I might have already checked out, because there was no car in the parking spot directly in front of my door??? (My car was in the adjacent spot). He never apologized, and kept saying “no problem”. Like he was doing me a favor letting me stay to 11am. Maybe for some people this isn't a big deal. But for me, I came to this area for peace, quiet, and solitude. It seems so obvious to me that knocking on guest's doors at 8:30am is disruptive and creates such an unwelcoming “hurry up and leave so we have extra time to clean” feeling. Annoying your guest right before they check-out (and leave a review) is not only a hospitality failure but just not good business. Not to mention, what would have happened if I were still sleeping? How many times does this guy “accidentally” walk in on guests sleeping? If I were a woman, I would not stay here alone. Also, there was no hotel/restaurant/area information book in the room. So I had to find pictures people took of the hotel restaurant menu on Google. Except Google shows different menus, so there's no way to tell which is the most current. Eventually I decided to call (after finding number of Google, natch)… and no one answered. Finally, when I first arrived airflow from A/C was barely there. I took out the filters and they were clogged with dust. After cleaning the filters, the airflow was as much better. While the cleaning staff is zealous to get started on your room at 8:30am, it seems they are not so zealous about cleaning the AC filters.
The room is not clean : There is hair on the bed, hair in the bathroom … Room 2 is a noisy room : close to the route… It doesn't looks like best western hotel There is no tea in the room, no herbal tea at the office
The White Mountains attracts a huge number of hikers and the location of this hotel is close to many trails in Crawford Notch. But this hotel does not offer breakfast until 7 a.m. so if you are planning a long day hike and want to get an early start, this hotel is not for you. (The food is the usual blah selection; coffee is lower than average). The rooms have sliders that open to what one hopes is clean mountain air, but if you are a non-smoker, be prepared to deal with smoke drifting in. If you are staying more than one night, your room will not be tidied up when you leave for the day and then return. I was not told this until check-out that the hotel has an unheard of policy (to me, anyway) of not tidying a room unless a guest requests it.
My husband and family stayed here when he was a kid and loved it - they really wanted to bring back the memories and stay again. Unfortunately, we really felt the overall hotel left a lot to be desired. To start, Even before booking, I called the front desk to find out the layout of the “family suite” and not one employee could give me a straight answer. One told me “there are beds, and a rug”. They really just slapped a fresh coat of paint on a pretty run down hotel. The room we stayed in was in the same building as the indoor pool and felt really humid and overall not clean feeling. The rug had a damp feeling, the shower wasn't clean, and we found a used hair brush and hair at the edge of the bed on the floor. I would not let my kid go to the indoor pool as it truly looked gross and smelled so badly of chlorine even throughout the hotel hall. My MIL said they the vent in there looked like it was never cleaned. The patio on this building was so small and had no privacy. The outdoor furniture pictured on the website was dirty and run down. The positives were that it is pet friendly (we didn't have our dog with us), the basketball and tennis court, and the free breakfast. Overall would not return.
Reserves a jacuzzi room..front desk refused to honor. Unsupervised kids monopolizing pool and hot tub..although signs stated no unescorted under 16. So called heated pool was freezing, ice machine and game hoom ac not working..no maid service available. Room was old and worn...I will say king bed was fairly comfortable.
All staff are friendly and courteous. Very clean and well maintained property and rooms and outdoor pool. Included breakfast is great with many options to choose from no matter what time you go. Very convenient location to many surrounding attractions and sights.
On Monday, July the 4th I called the hotel to cancel the reservation because my daughter was sick, and I was told that I could not cancel my reservation without a one-night late cancelation fee even though I called about 28 hours before the check-in time. On Friday, July the 8th I found out the hotel charge me an extra night even though I check-out two hours before the check-out time. I call customer service, and they contacted the hotel which issue a 2 Dollars lesser amount refund.
This is a motel advertised as a 3 star hotel resort. Outdoor Pool, one tennis court, indoor pool, “arcade” are all tired in motel like right off the road. No resort like grounds or views. Not resort like at all. Photos are misleading. For $313 a night expected more for the area. This was a motel room that opened to the street. The room ceiling is low - door height! After 3 hours drive thinking we're going to a resort it was very disappointing. I cannot recommended Woodward as a resort to anyone used to hotel resort experiences. If you need a place sleep then it will do (at least the room we were in. I cannot comment on the rest of the rooms). I wouldn't bring my family here for a vacation break. Breakfast was basic
The hotel was recently renovated completely. The staff is attentive, courteous and friendly. Breakfast is a good value and the motel grounds are very nicely done. The indoor pool/spa is always stocked with towels. The rooms are comfortable with a great TV. A/C worked very well. The room was virtually new. The TV channel lineup does not match what you see but, the quality is great.
Remodeled room was nice. The river view room with small balcony and chairs was enjoyable to sit out. Staff was helpful and friendly especially since they seemed to have multiple tasks or job descriptions.
Surrounded by beautiful mountains this hotel has the perfect location. Activities and restaurants all within a 3 mile radius. Additional beautiful places to visit an additional 30 min away to keep you busy. Hotel is currently undergoing renovations it seems. It looks nice and the effort being put into it is great. We had a king size bed room with a jacuzzi. Bed very comfortable. Water pressure in shower was good. Room was clean upon arrival. Jacuzzi worked well once we figured it out. Very relaxing after a day of walking and hiking. Breakfast was basic with a few options that were the same daily. Hotel sits along RT 3 but was quiet in the room. Hotel grounds very nice with fire pit, duck pond and gazebo. Very pleasant atmosphere. Looks like a family run business. Our stay really was a nice experience.
We stayed in Lincoln NH for the long Memorial Day weekend while on our cross-country road trip and being familiar with the area from years ago I knew we wanted to stay in Lincoln or Woodstock NH. Not a disappointment in the location of Woodwards which has been there many years but recently added as a Best Western resort and recently renovated last year I believe. There is the White Mtn Tavern restaurant on premises but since early in the season it had reduced days of operation like many places in the area. The grounds nicely landscaped with a gazebo, brook, sitting areas, corn hole, tennis court, but no fitness room. Our room with king bed was a good size with barn style door to the bathroom with walk-in shower; micro, good size refrigerator, very comfortable bed, desk/chair, 2 side chairs and small round table, 2 night stands, large flat screen TV. Comp Full Breakfast had a good selection of food. Close to Woodstock and many attractions in Lincoln (Loon Mtn, mini golf, etc), Franconia Notch, the Flume Gorge, Clark's Trading Post to name a few, so plenty to do or just relax. Would definitely stay a Woodwards again if ever in the area! BTW, it is located on Route 3 which is busy but it was very quiet at night to sleep.
We decided to make a stop on our way to the Ocean, from the Grand Montreal Area. It is an excellent choice if you don't feel like driving all the way to your final destination. We were more than delighted when we checked in our room with two beds, and later after discovering all the property's amenities. The room was comfortable and super clean with all expected facilities. We had a very nice view of a small creek and the wood area from our balcony. Very relaxing and pleasant. We also used the inside pool and the hot tub. I used the pool table for the fun of it, just by myself. There are also other games in the arcade style room like a Pin Ball Machine, Air Hockey etc. Outside we enjoyed the horse shoes and the pocket bags games. There are also a Tennis Court, a Shuffleboard, a Gazebo and a Children's Play Area. There are an outside swimming pool and a Duck and Trout Pond you can enjoy during the warmer season. All in all, it was a great and fun afternoon and night stay. Convenience & Gas stores are nearby. The next morning we enjoyed a very good complimentary breakfast. Then after an easy check out we headed to the I-93 South which is nearby. I would hate myself not to mention the warm and welcoming attitude of all the staff I had the opportunity to deal or chat with, and this on the afternoon, evening and morning shifts. Finally, I am glad I have discovered this Hotel and this will be my choice for all future trips in this area. Many thanks to all. You exceeded my expectations. With a smile :) Cleve & Diane.
We visited during the “shoulder” season- in between the winter sports crowds and summer campers. The man working the front desk exemplified customer service- he made sure we received the room we expected despite a hotels.com error, and was extremely warm and accommodating throughout the visit. He even took the time to get us ice, even though I'm sure there were plenty of other things to do. The bathroom was spacious, beautiful, and updated, and the room itself satisfactory for the price point. The property is situated across the street from a gorgeous river, and you could hear the rushing water from our hotel room. The complimentary breakfast was very good, and pool area relaxing and clean. I am eager to return in the summer, and hope to stay here again.
I was given a room with a view of the brook and by the pool. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable. The hosts were super nice and so friendly. I was very pleased with the size and cleaniness of the breakfast room not to mention a variety of choices for breakfast. Will definitely stay there again.
the staff was great but the bed was horrendous, it was way too soft, lumpy and the head of the mattress sloped downward to a point that we had to use pillows under the mattress to prop it up to a point that is was level. Needless to say a very uncomfortable stay. Me and my wife both left with minor back and neck pain.
We were very pleased with the location. The room was updated and clean and quite comfortable with plenty of cable TV options and the internet was fine. Breakfast each day had a fine selection. The staff was very pleasant. We did not get a chance to use the pool, but it looked inviting. We also did not use the restaurant on site as we had other plans the evenings we were in the area. It was quiet and no issues. I hope the pond will eventually be filled again as it's a really an attractive spot.
Not worth the money. Rooms are not clean. Several large stains on top of sheets. It was the first thing we saw when we walked in the room. If they missed this what else was not cleaned. Lots of damage to drywall and fixtures. I'm shocked that it is advertised as recently renovated. Definitely not worth the price
Check in process was a breeze and the front desk clerk is courteous and polite. Rooms look recently updated. I would have given them 4 stars if it wasn't for the dirty cleaning rug left in the mini fridge, broken bathroom lock, lack of soundproofing and freezing cold in the room. We could hear everything and everyone outside and the room next door. The heat is a joke, it's February in NH and the temperature is always below freezing. When we entered the room we noticed the cold, I put the thermostat to 70 no difference. Called the front desk and he told to put it to 80 degrees and if it gets to hot to lower it. It's been 4 hours since check in and we thankfully reached 68. Now if it was one of those affordable inns by the side of the highway, I would have said “ I got what I paid for “. But for $300/night I can at least expect a working heating system. I understand it's high season and they all jack up the prices, but unless my car breaks down in front of their hotel in the middle on the night, I will never be back.
We thought this would be off the eaten path but it only took us 5 minutes to get over to the main road in Littleton. This is a busy hotel as I believe a lot of snowmobile use it a start off place. Rooms were clean as was the pool area though the air felt like it was heavenly chlorinated.
The "newly renovated" room had a damaged door frame, a cracked light switch plate, stains on the ceiling, a bathroom door which would not lock. The key reader on our room repeatedly did not work correctly, leaving us standing in the cold. The curtains were not full black out and parking lot lights shone brightly into the room. The only good thing about the room was the jacuzzi tub.
Stayed Valentine's Day so we could go to the Ice Castles. The description sounds lovely but it's not. Remodeled...not really. I pictured a "resort"...they use the term loosely. The place is broken up in different buildings. We stayed in what looked like a motel. In fact, it looks like a bunch of motels. So, given it was Valentine's Day, I wanted a nice place, with a pool, but they said, pool, hot tub, and sauna! WOW! AND there was a restaurant and tavern as well, for a nightcap, and free breakfast! What more could you ask for? A lot I'd say! Given it was February, we had to drive to the building with the pool, hot tub, and sauna. I had checked the temp earlier and the pool was nice. Well, they must turn down the heat an hour or two before closing, as when we got there, it was pretty darn cool. The hot tub was lovely, but they must have put a ton of chlorine in the pool and hot tub as my eyes were burning (didn't go under the water either!) Then was going to enjoy the sauna last...hmmm....closed.... not working. That was a bummer. Another bummer was that the restaurant wasn't even open!!! Nor the lounge! Must be separate from the hotel..."resort" as the staff didn't even know if they were open, but I had messaged them and found out later (when we got there) that it was closed...so no relaxing dinner...no nightcap. Lovely. The room itself. Nope, didn't care for that either. It had been "updated", but part of the wall had a gap between that and the floor with a piece of wood there...not sure why. There were dents and marks in the wall. The room was quite small. The bathroom had a barn door which I do like as I have one in my home for my bathroom. However, it did not lock and left huge gaps, so don't expect privacy when you use it! Hope you know your roommate well!!! The room was small...was expecting quite a bit larger. The pictures of the place in the summertime look lovely, but don't think I would return to try it again.
Deceived and mislead by front desk associate. Had to cancel last minute due to my kid being sick. I was within the window per the email confirmation to cancel by 4pm the day before. I called the hotel locally to cancel and was told I was too late and would be charged. Asked for a manager, was told it could be 3 or 4 days before a manager is there. Frustrated and not sure what else to do, got off the phone and realized there was an 800 number in the email. I was able to call and cancel no problem. About two minutes after I got off the phone (mind you in that time I received an email confirming my cancellation and no charges to my card) the front desk associate called and told me he spoke to his manager and would be able to refund me 50% of my stay!!!!! Clearly trying to pull a fast one on me. If they are deceptive with this, what else are they deceptive with?
My husband and I stayed there February 2022 after going to the Ice Castles. We had a king bed room. The room was very clean. We chose this location because they had a tavern and restaurant. We were disappointed that after visiting the Ice Castles we were looking forward to going back and getting a nice dinner and drinks. NOPE! It was not open even thought we were told it would be. Another thing is that we had to take a car to go to the pool. I guess it was my fault for not checking this out ahead of time. Breakfast was okay. It was noted to please put on gloves before getting your food. We did but no one else. It was not monitored. Sorry to say we would not go back there. I would look elsewhere.
I was very impressed with Woodwards, and I will definitely return! I was traveling by myself, and the room was perfect and exactly what I was looking for! It was clean, bright, had a large screen TV screen, they offered an excellent breakfast, and all of the hotel personnel were exceptionally accommodating!
I reserved the Deluxe Room, which did not look like the photo on the website as my bedroom was knotty pine, it was not a problem for us. Room was very clean. Nice indoor pool. Onsite tavern has excellent food.
Exceptional, friendly staff, wholesome breakfast(scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles fresh fruit , bagels, yogurt. Coffee, fruit juices, clean rooms , plenty of hot water, very quiet nights, comfortable beds. Convenient location, nice views, indoor pool and hot tub looked inviting but we didn't use them. Ample parking. There is a restaurant / bar on the property as well. All in all , we enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely stay here when we are in the area again.
Woodward's White Mountain Resort exceeded all my expectations. Recently renovated and updated rooms, premium bedding, clean and warm pool and hot tub area were excellent. Staff was courteous and professional. All this with a fair price and excellent complimentary breakfast.
We rented a three queen beds suite #90. Stayed two nights, paid $800, clearly we had some expectations. The suite was clean and service pleasant but otherwise the quality wasn't there at all. This was more of a motel at $100 a night. In the middle of the room there was a hole in the floor covered with a carpet. We were falling into it every time we walked by. Everything else you can see on pictures attached. This place is I believe owned by Asian Indian family and sadly they have created a stereotype for themselves and not a good one. Due to my work, I deal with many hotels and Inns on a daily basis. People from India started buying out older hotels or Inns that should have been renovated or remodeled some time ago, but instead they just patch it up or cover it with a carpet. Everything is done cheaply and poorly. I didn't pick up on the ownership while booking plus everything else was booked in the area so we didn't have a choice. I would not recommend if you do have a choice.
The photos online look nice, but Woodwards is less a resort and more a motel that has seen better days. We pulled up to our room and were greeted with construction - it looked like they started building a porch wall and gave up awhile ago. Instead of glorious mountain vistas there were views of parking lots on both sides. We never sat on the balcony to watch a sunset because the previous tenant's trash was still out there. We stayed two night and housekeeping never came by. We had to go to the main desk to ask for toilet paper. The staff on check in was antagonistic. I caught some sort of large bug int the bathroom - my husband thought maybe it was a cricket (In the December snow)? Hubby walked down to the tavern but came back soon because they ran out of tap beer. We tried the pool, which was nice, but you have to walk outside through the snow to get there and back, which made for a cold and wet trip back to the room. Lincoln is charming and the motel is conveniently located, but I would look at one of the many other cute options nearby. Pemi Cafe is nearby and offered an amazing dinner and super friendly staff.
This hotel has it all. Newly renovated rooms, great pool, hot tub and game room, solid breakfast, lovely reception area. The attention to detail and cleanliness were impressive. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, and our room had a large HD TV. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We were so impressed by every aspect of our experience.
Overall place was clean spacious and Nicely located to plenty of attractions and restaurants. Was billed randomly on second afternoon for $120.00 , luckily my phone alerted me to the charge . No one could explain why or how and even though they charged my card I had to wait 5-6 days for my refund . Angers but not ready to ruin trip until 2am I was once again randomly charged 40.00. Now I am out 160 and no one can explain or even offer a suitable apology! Staff offered nothing other then ‘oh we charged you for a dog by mistake' . Not saying stay away from this place, but if you do keep an eye out on your credit card.
I have been here for two nights and 3 day. I liked the pool, have more fun at game room. Easy access road to the city center. Staff is friendly and very attentive, cares about customers. Clean room, Good choice for vacations, enthusiastic staff.
This place is simply amazing they have just finished a complete makeover in June and I can't say enough good stuff about this place. They serve a hot breakfast consisting of eggs, meat, and potatoes along with all the other regular breakfast items including a waffle maker the thing that impressed me the most was they had boxes of plastic gloves for everyone to wear while in the food area. The rooms are beautiful, very clean and spacious along with a balcony that has a table and chairs, they are single entry units that you enter directly from the outside. I would highly recommend this place if your looking for a nice place to stay along with the fact that they are pet friendly
The place is nice and clean. Mohammad from the front desk was very helpful .Advised as on things to do in the area. The room is big with very comfortable bass. Outside there is a nice pond with ducks. Breakfast was basic. We will come back in the future.
The reservation and check-in process was smooth. The rooms are very small an not very clean. There were cats onsite and smoke order in the room. Housekeeping did not service the room during our stay. I will not book here again.
Really enjoyed our stay, not knowing what to expect given the harsh reviews. Had what appeared to be a freshly renovated room in the modern Best Western style, with massive a 50 inch TV, comfortable, somewhat firm beds, a large fridge and microwave and large bathroom, designed to be handicap accessible. Room was very clean -- and we checked carefully! Only complaint would be the noise we'd hear from a door adjacent to our room that served as an indoor stairway to the second floor. I wish they could make the door close a bit more "gently." Breakfast was your typical pre-pandemic basic Best Western servings: waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, muffins, ect. -- served adjacent to the check-in lobby area. They had a "pancake machine" -- which is something I've yet to see at other BWs. Two pool areas are available during the summer season, but in the fall, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were open to guests from 9am - 10pm. They are located in the building in the rear of the resort. The location is perfect for those with plans in Franconia Notch. The resort is a bit remote for those who want to enjoy center Lincoln, but a very short, doable drive. I was incredibly pleased for what we received given the price paid during what is a busy time of year. I WILL be staying here again.
