Resumen de la reserva
The price of the stay is not justified for this property. It's tired. There were stains on the carpet in my room. The breakfast was just OK. The room seemed dark and dreary. Parking fills up and I was worried about finding a close spot when I returned at 9 pm.
Don't stay here! It's not clean. The TV didn't work. The towels are paper thin and we weren't supplied half of what we needed the second day. The food was raided before we arrived and they said it was too late to replace any. The carpets looked like someone changed oil in that room! What a rip-off!! We will never stay here again.
The employees are missing teeth or have rotten teeth, they smoked right outside of the front door so we had to pass by it, one of the room key cards wouldn't work so we were stuck outside until my husband finished showering after my mom and I went to get breakfast, slim pickings at best for breakfast, literally the worst breakfast selection I've ever seen at a hotel, rooms are in desperate need of needing to be renovated, and the WORST PART IS that from the moment we walked in the hotel, the employees gave us a hard time because my husband who is a disabled vet had his service dog with him. The gal at the service desk asked if we called ahead of time to let the hotel know that we had a service animal when legally you don't have to do that and we never have nor have we ever had any issues and we stay at hotels at least 20 times/year minimum. Even the next morning they were saying there's that “dog” that's on the second floor to each other. Don't bother staying here. This area doesn't have much to pick from anyways and all the hotels are run down but save yourself the hassle and drive a little further. You'll be happy you did.
Stayed here for 2 nights while in town with family for an event. It was a very enjoyable stay! The staff at check in were lovely and friendly, the room was clean and spacious, with coffee available. We also appreciated the refrigerator. The a/c worked great and wasn't too noisy the way it can be in other hotels. The beds were comfortable and we had very good water pressure for showers. My son enjoyed the pool and we all enjoyed the free breakfast with lots of choices. We will definitely stay here for our next visit to LaGrande.
Don't stay here. Nothing good about it and the price is outrageous. Tub disgusting, nothing worked - TV, toilet, microwave. Pillows like planks. It's rated the best in La Grande, so I expected just a bit more. Old, tired furniture. Worn carpeting. Staff ok.
Stayed here for a wedding in LaGrande in June. This by far is the nicest hotel in the city. The check-in staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was huge even though we didn't quite need a room that large but it was nice to have an extra chair and room to place items. The morning breakfast was nice with a few hot items, a nice biscuit gravy and setup and multiple other items as well as both a espresso style coffee machine and rather good regular coffee as well. Would definitely recommend this for a LaGrande stay.
The breakfast guy on Saturday morning had a bad attitude from the get go. Even if you apologized for whatever his issue is, he was still a big jerk.
The room had not been cleaned and everything was broken. The bed sheets had not been changed, there was beard hair in the sink, the coffee maker did not work and the room smelled of pet urine
Found black hair in the bed sheets as well as stuck in the blanket and also found tiny black hairs in the shower, also water pressure wasn't great.
My stay was comfortable. The room was clean and the breakfast had many great food and seating options, which I appreciate.
We have stayed here a few times and are never disappointed. We had an accessible room that worked very well for us. The king bed was very comfortable and also had lots of pillows. The breakfast was a little disappointing this time. They no longer have waffles and the pancake machine has to be operated by an employee. Very good coffee and lattes. Good selection of milk and juices. The breakfast ends at 9:00 AM. All of the employees are very pleasant and responsive. We will continue to stay here when we visit our family.
This is a convenient location with good amenities but what truly shines here is the service! everyone goes out of their way to make the best experience possible. would definitely stay again
Not a lot of options in the area but for a good night sleep in a clean , comfortable place. This is it.
We had an amazing stay here in La Grande! The staff was wonderful & the breakfast was delicious! Try the blueberry & cherry toppings for your pancakes! Waking up to a view of the mountains surrounding La Grande was such a treat! We will return!
Best Western in La Grande was clean, and staff was friendly. I enjoyed my stay; we used the pool and fitness room; The Best Western hotel in La Grande is one of the best in town. Plus, they have free cookies.
Check in was quick and easy. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, and got a good night's rest in the bed. Overall my business stay at this location was pleasant, and it helps that there are nearby restaurants.
Quiet, clean and comfortable beds! The air conditioner was quiet and kept us nice and cool. Staff were very friendly and professional. Nice options for breakfast and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
Best Westerns are a little spendy, but always dependable. You know your going to get a nice, clean room and a good breakfast. This BW was great. My daughter enjoyed the pool. The pancake machine was a big hit!
The room was clean, my kids loved the pool. The bathroom was kind of small but my kids loved that they could take a bath. The beds were comfortable. My kids also loved that there was a gym. The breakfast room was great.
My room had fleas, I knew the hotel was full so I just collected them in a paper cup and brought them to the front desk during checkout. The front desk attendant seems indifferent when I asked "are these bedbugs or fleas", she said " they definitely are not bed bugs".
We arrived late and had even called prior. No parking and had to walk two blocks to franchise after having been traveling over 9 hours. Plus the breakfast was very limited and not stocked. We paid way too much for a room that was just mediocre.
This hotel is the best in La Grande. That being said, La Grande is a "hotel desert" meaning there are not many good places to stay in La Grande. If you need to stay in La Grande, this is the place to be. It is clean and comfortable, which is a gem in La Grande. However, compared to hotels nationwide, it is an average experience. As a result, you pay a premium price for an average experience. BUT if you need to stay in this town, the price is worth it. They have a coin-op customer laundry, indoor pool, and quick access from I-84. There is an acceptable breakfast included in the price. I have stayed here many times and will continue to do so when in town.
Bedding comprise one thin blanket and two thin sheets. Very poor. Had to drape my coat over in the middle of the night. Hotel is old and not good value. I think I remember id from the 70s -no changes.
Overall this was a great stay, there are good restaurants nearby, good location. Not far from where I needed to do business. Friendly staff, clean rooms, decent breakfast. Anytime I need to stay in La Grande, I'll be staying with BW.
Hotel property is clean and up to date. Love having Kurig, fridge and microwave in room and breakfast ready in the morning. Room was very cozy and clean, bed was comfortable. Plenty of bath towels and washcloths. Will definitely stay here on future family visits.
Got a bit frustrated because I couldn't find the hotel. Finally made it there and the front desk agent was nice. You'd think checking in at 4PM I'd get a room on the 1st floor. Nope. 2nd floor and no elevator. Need the exercise anyway. Signs all over saying no pets yay! Looked for food online. There were fast food places within walking distance, but they all had bad reviews. Not any good local places either. Seems like they all are drive thru places. Weird. Finally settled on just going to Safeway and getting a meal to heat up in the microwave. The refrigerator was huge and had a really large freezer area. But in the tray just below the freezer someone had left behind their ice/heat wrap. Yuk. And I don't understand why the microwave wasn't on the shelf directly above the fridge. It was even higher up way over my head. Anyone shorter than me would have a problem. Really easy to dump hot food on your head. The tv pissed me off. Could not figure out how to turn it on. Nothing worked. Finally I looked at the back and fiddled with the cords. Unplugged the HDMI cable and put it in a different port and that worked! The room was pretty big but set up kind of weird. The desk was at the far end by the window and the dresser with the tv was in the middle. Great for watching tv in bed but not over by the desk. Thankfully it swiveled. But I was afraid I would have it too loud and piss off the neighbors especially since the AC by the window wouldn't turn off and was loud. The shower was adjustable but I couldn't find a setting I liked. I loved their toiletries. They were citrus and smelled delightful. Needed to be on the road early and tried setting the alarm for 5:30AM. Finally figured out how to set the alarm but could not figure out where a radio station was. Someone was making noise in the hall slamming doors at 4:30AM so I guess I didn't need the alarm.
Have stayed at Hampton Inns since arrival in US for holiday. Saturday needed to stay in Le Grande as I was tired driving and it was 7.30pm. No Hampton here so no choice. Thought $179.00 plus tax it would be adequate but I was wrong. Greeting was ok not warm but we all have those days we wished we're over, let it slip. The told “if internet did not work ring provider, phone number is there “ slip of paper with details how to connect. Naturally internet did not work, was not going to spend hours repeating myself to some person in call centre with holiday English. Now the hotel and room, both old and tired, well overdue makeover, hope it's better than interest provider. Decided to leave without the free breakfast and avoid another disappointment. The girl on reception when I left was friendly to did not ask if I was happy, not her fault. Got email from Best Western hoping I give the chance to change my mind, well not wasting another dollar with them.
We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. The room was large with a micorwave, fridge and a sitting room apart from the bedroom. The bathroom was also roomy. It was clean and up to date. I really liked the bed, it was so comfortable!
Excellent 2 night stay. Very clean room, bed and pillows were very comfortable. Internet was easy to access with no connectivity issues. Breakfast was excellent with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. Cereal, pastries, and pancakes were also available but I didn't eat them. The hot water for tea needed refilling which was done quickly upon request. Staff interactions were helpful and friendly. The hotel is well located near several eateries and stores. Very positive stay.
The Best Western Rama Inn is the nicest large hotel in the LaGrande area. Most of the hotels in LaGrande are needing renovations. The Best Western is more expensive, but a lot nicer. The inside pool looked inviting, but sadly we lacked the time to enjoy it. The breakfast was very complete, fresh, and tasty. We enjoyed our stay and my allergies were happy it was not "Pet Friendly"!
I have stayed at this hotel in the past and would stay here again if occasion arose. This past week I was driving to Idaho from the Oregon coast and had an important zoom meeting I needed to attend. I stopped at the hotel and asked if there was any chance I could attend my meeting at the hotel. Liz, the manager, was very kind to let me use the breakfast room which was clean and spacious. The lobbyand front desk help were also warm and welcoming.
When we checked in the front desk clerk was fast and valued our time over phone calls. We were given a map of town with restaurant recommendations, also at check in. The rooms were very nicely decorated, clean, quiet, with several pillow choices. The breakfast options were enough that we all could find something we liked (fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal with milk, fresh pancakes, omelets, biscuits with gravy, sausage patties, and various breads for toast were our choices).
The room had a extremely overwhelming smell when we opened the door which we found was a Glade plug in air freshener. Come to find out it was masking the smell of Urine… Then came the tub drain which did not, drain that is. If you like sleeping on concrete the beds will suit your needs otherwise plan on some discomfort. After a sleepless night and crappy shower in a room that somehow smells like fermenting pickles you can make your way down to a cold limited breakfast then go about your day. All this for just the price of most 4 to 5 star hotels.
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and spacious. Elevator seemed a bit rickety, maybe needs servicing but there were stairs. Price was a little higher than I would have liked but I guess on par with a 3star hotel.
This room was dirty and the beds where all messed up like someone was still in there… dirty towels everywhere and when I brought it to there attention they told me they didn't have a another room I could use.
I have stayted at 6 of the hotels in La Grande over the last 4 months and this Best Western Rama Inn is by far the best I encountered, from amenities, to staff, to cleanliness, comfortable bed, and shower.
The La Grande BW is clean and comfortable. the property gets a lot of traffic and housekeeping does an admirable job of providing clean rooms and common areas. Room furnishings were nicely done. Always a safe bet.
La Grande is a great stop on a road trip and the Best Western Rama is a comfortable, quiet, convenient place to stay. Pluses-great beds, solid breakfast, easy on and off to highway, efficient staff, elevator.
They charge you Plus rates and what you get is less than a regular old Best Western. Take a pass on this one! We will not be staying there again.Beds had a blanket that looked like something from the 80s. We had their best rate being a rewards member and not worth the extra “Plus “ rate. We have had much better regular Best Westerns.
The hot tub and pool were a great perk! Fun for the family! A work out room was also available. Hot breakfast is BAAAACCK!! Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage...it was great to SEE everyone smiling again!
It is a older hotel that has yet to be completely remodeled. It was fairly clean and for one night it was great. The shower heads need to be replaced. It was fairly quiet. The beds were comfortable. Lighting wasnt great.
Great stay everyone is always pleasant and helpful. Great suggestions on restaurant choices even breakfast in the hotel has a variety of breakfast foods to choose from hot and fresh. Nothing I have to ask for has been an issue and not able to provide exactly what I need there is always a suggestion to accommodate.
I am a Best Western Diamond Select customer. Strong preference for BW properties and have been staying at them for many decades. They are usually predictably upscale which is what I'd expect from a motel that charges premium prices. The "extras" are worth paying for so when I'm paying top dollar and am not treated well I tend to be unhappy. The property and the room were fine. I've stayed here a few times over the years and it's mostly been fine. I do have to say that the prices are rather extreme for a little podunk town like LaGrande. Diamond select customers are supposed to get extra perks and none were forthcoming on my most recent visit. I fact, I had to sit in my car and bake for an hour because "my room wasn't ready". The "grab and go" apple and a napkin faux breakfast was insulting. No room upgrade even though the hotel was not very full. This property does NOT follow BW Corporate's guidelines for top tier customers.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Building and rooms could use some updating. Breakfast was very good for hotel offerings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price is the biggest downside, but it is definitely the best hotel in the area.
Polite staff at check in. Everything in the room was in working order, room nice and clean. Breakfast was OK with hot options some fresh fruit. Did not use pool or fitness area but did see others in the fitness room
Everything was great! Breakfast was small due to super busy weekend and road closures. The staff worked very hard to accommodate everyone. Rooms were clean and everyone was friendly and helpful! We'd definitely stay again!
Breakfast room states mask and gloves, your own staff namely housekeepers came in no mask, used no gloves handled all heating ovens and utensils, also a guy came in bare feet in pj's no mask or gloves. For this reason, I cancelled my Friday reservation, as an essential truck driver doing my job and trying to stay healthy, I was not impressed. That is not what I expected from a Best Western hotel.
We stayed here for one night on a road trip - 3 people in a double queen room. Checkin was quick at 8PM and the room was clean and decorated well. It was larger than some Queen rooms we've seen with plenty of room for seating, etc. There were abundance USB plugs and outlets near the desk and nightstands. The breakfast was served until 9AM - and although we'd prefer 10 - it's quite reasonable. The pool and hot tub looked inviting, but we didn't have time to do it. Overall the BW was the high quality we'd expect for the price - which was higher than nearby choices.
I requested a third floor room over two weeks before my stay avoid excessive noise, which I had experienced on a previous stay. The request was made in response to an email from the manager of the property addressing the issues I experienced on my previous stay. The email was ignored. I also made the request when I pre-registered via the email link I received the morning of my arrival, which appears to have been a waste of time. I was put on the second floor & experienced noise continuously during my stay. There was also only one very small window in the corner of the room, which overlooked another guest room's patio. It felt like I was staying in a noisy cave.
I stayed here one night for an event in LaGrande in a 2 queen room. It was thoroughly enjoyable with clean, updated furnishings, newer carpet and a lovely, bath. There were 2 of us and we had plenty of room. The bed was comfortable. We also had a great breakfast of omelette, sausages, hash browns and a pastry. So many hotels aren't providing breakfast due to the pandemic so that was a real treat. Overall, a great value and would happily stay again. LaGrande isn't big but this was close to everything!
We spent one night while on a road trip here. We were perfectly happy with the hotel. I do agree with those who have said it's not really plus quality, but for us it worked well. Breakfast was back to buffet, but they required folks to wear gloves when serving themselves, which suited us just fine as we are covid cautious. Staff were nice and the hotel seemed very clean.
Mediocre hotel. Overpriced for quality of room, and bathroom. Bath was very small, fan did not work well and floors were dirty in corners with mold/mildew. Bathtub surface was worn off and subsequently looked dirty/old. Bed pillows were lumpy. Honestly don't have anything positive to say about the place. Surely there are better hotels in La Grande for less than $200. per night.
My husband and adult son and myself stayed here in a 2 queen room. The room was dated, which I can handle, but it was also dirty and in disrepair. There was a beer can in a drawer, and something gross dried on the bathroom floor. The heat/cool system funky at best. Most annoying though was the wifi that didn't work. It showed connected but would never load a page on a phone or tablet. If you can't provide it, then don't advertise that you have it. I contacted the front desk where he said his wifi on his phone was working fine. He said I could come to the front desk and he would look at my phone, but my phone was not the issue, the wifi was. (I.e my phone worked fine with wifi at the dinner restaurant and everywhere else we were this trip.) I'm not sure what is better in La Grande, but I sure won't return to this hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities and our room. The pool was delightful and clean. Parking was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. We had two other parties with us and they also had a good experience.
Beautiful CLEAN rooms, every amenity you need, close to town, freeway & good eats. The pillows were unusual and I was skeptical about them...... but, boy did I sleep GOOD !! Everything was in good working order. Great parking, nice lobby. Breakfast only serves until 9 which wasn't great for lazy girls on a weekend.
A good experience. Room was clean, breakfast was lacking. Staff was super friendly and ready to assist. Location was quiet. Indoor pool was ok, but the exercise room was pretty small. Overall I liked this property…
I booked this at a premium expecting a premium hotel. I lost a jacket, and they refuse to ship it (or box it up) even if I send them a shipping label. They expect me to open a fed ex account and schedule a pickup. Breakfast all served on cheap paper plates. Will never return here, are lots of other better choices for the money.
This B.W. Plus in La Grande is my spot for my boring corporate business every 2 weeks.) No jk I love my job an love this cozy hotel! Staff is as amazing as their huge smiles behind those masks!) Comfy, great breakfast, warm and my boy Micheal knows the best spots for food and entertainment. Been staying here every 2 weeks since Nov. of 2019 and honestly only problem I have ever had was a clogged shower ONE time!! If you're the adventurous type ask to stay in a haunted room for a CRAZY yet safe experience!! Always look forward to La Grande, such great people.9
The check-in process was long; the counter people unfriendly and unhelpful. Room was supposed to be ADA compliant, but shower area was not set up correctly (shower didn't have adequate cover, and water sprayed all over the floor). Front desk clerks did not want to give clean towels or clean the rooms (even during Covid, this is disgusting. Had to fuss with them for clean towels and to have room cleaned. The keys to the doors didn't work, and the ADA room was at the end of the hall, away from all amenities. Luggage carts were not available, and for senior people, this is necessary. Staff was unhelpful and uninterested in making the guests feel welcome. Sadly disappointed in the Best Western Family on this stay. We spend several nights a year in hotels for business and pleasure, and this is one that I will certainly think twice on.
This hotel charged an extra room (that we did not use) for two nights to our account after we stayed there, then they hung up on us and refused to refund or discuss the matter with us. Going corporate now to get our money back. Don't stay here.
The La Grande location is nice, quiet and well kept. Staff is friendly and polite and the hotel is clean and well maintained. They had an attendant served breakfast and amenities were open with scheduled time slots which was great.
Lighting in bathroom and room horrendous. Facility needs renovation. Housekeeping staff very pleasant and helpful. Front desk staff overwhelmed with checkin not being allowed till 4pm. Beds comfortable
Passing thru, stayed 1 night. An older motel w/some minor upgrades. Had to leave the bathroom to change your mind. Motel was dark, clean & comfortable, lots of workers.Stayed during Covid, they did a good job of distancing.
Love the queen suite room Hotel is Close to everything. Soft beds. Great choice and reasonable price. Friendly staff. Overall great hotel. Will stay again! Pool was by reservation only because of covid, which kinda sucked but still a great stay
We wanted a place that was taking public health protections seriously after stopping at three other hotels that did not. This Best Western does. All staff and guests were masked up-no big deal if it's normalized. Room was super clean but bed was a little hard for me and I would have liked an extra blanket for the bed.
We love LaGrande and the people there. We always enjoy our time with friends and family. Or stay a few days with no less enjoyable than previous times we have been. The hotel staff are very kind and helpful in these times of Covid. They are there to serve and help and do a good job at it. Thank you best western staff. I'm sorry to report that this hotel it's not up to Best Western standards. Let alone best western “plus” standards. Me and my family have stayed in Best western hotels cross-country an even overseas. This hotel was not only very unclean but the craftsmanship of whatever remodel in all of the rooms we've stayed in over the years it's very shoddy to say the least. The old furniture the paint that overlaps the tile, The ugly pink paint in the bathrooms, the dirt all over the showerhead that is probably 50 years old. Are all some of the conditions we experienced. I am a best western rewards member And Best Western should be very exchange of this poor lady kept hotel that is a desperate need of a remodel.
This is an older Best Western, it is clean but nothing special. The beds were hard and the TV remote was not working right and the color is way off on the TV. They have a grab and go breakfast. The pool, spa, and exercise room are all closed. It was clean.
Arrived late. Take care coming off the highway. It's a little confusing to find the place. It's behind the MCDonald's and the Gas station. Check-in was face and easy. Room was nice until we used the bathroom, and the toilet overflowed! The only help the desk clerk on duty could offer was for us to plunge the toilet ourselves and give us some cleaning supplies. The other option was to get a refund and rebook somewhere else, which he offered to do but it was already 10PM. Luckily, the plunger worked and the clean-up wasn't too bad. He provided a lot of towels to mop things up. Thank you. But, I will not recommend the Best Western, La Grande, to friends and family! PS: Bag lunch breakfast service stops at 9AM!
Stayed here twice, one night each, about a week apart. Consistent good stays both times. COVID precautions in place, with staff and guests following. Several times during the stays, walking through the lobby at random times to/from the car, I could smell the recently-used cleaning product hanging in the air. Strange as it is to say, that was a comfort under the circumstances. Other hotels elsewhere on our trip cost more and didn't match up to what these folks have working. Well done. We booked a suite both times and the separate bedroom/sitting room situation was great for both parents and toddler to get their own space. Beds were comfy and rooms were quiet - even one facing the freeway. Front desk attendants were friendly and offered recommendations for nearby meals. Grab & go breakfast of cinnamon roll, apple, & pre-packaged burrito was just fine under the circumstances. Would definitely stay here again on my way through La Grande.
Unassuming hotel, good location off of freeway but quiet. Covid-19 precautions in place. Room was very basic and clean. Breakfast was a packaged cinnamon roll and apple with canned juice and coffee along with a breakfast burrito. Eat in your room. Dinner was at a great restaurant in town, Side A Brewery Cafe, awesome menu.
We booked this room directly and spoke to someone at the actual hotel when booking. We were returning from a long camping trip and booked 2 rooms this hotel (which cost double than the competitor) because of the pool/spa and hot breakfast. There was no mention when we booked that none of these amenities would be available. I get it, COVID. So when we arrived and found out everything was closed and we would be getting a frozen burrito in a bag for breakfast we decided to keep driving the 6 hours home. Unfortunately, Mandy at the front desk was having an off day. She was very unprofessional and refused to call someone who could cancel our room for us. I get it, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. But, you've got to hold up your end of the deal. If you don't offer any amenities offered on your website and are not open about it when talking to customers, there is responsibility on your part. After begging Mandy to call someone, she said her manager was on vacation and would not respond until the morning. Well Mandy, we won't be getting home until midnight right now, we need to get on the road and need to know we are not out $350. She finally called someone and said we needed to talk to the manager in the morning. It was frustrating to say the least. So we were trapped into staying or losing $350. It was a horrible end to our amazing Oregon vacation. The breakfast was trash, we threw them in the garbage on the way out. C'mon guys, just because it is COVID does not mean you can't serve a decent breakfast. I get COVID, and I get the cancellation policy, but what I don't get is the rude and unprofessional manor this situation was handled by Mandy. We did not even bother to talk to the manager in the morning because we were so frustrated. We will not be staying here again and would not recommend it.
We had originally planned on staying at the La Grande Inn about a half mile away, but after arriving we found that the room/s were horrible (see my review on them - a classic SNAFU).....so we canceled our second night and stayed at the Best Western. A far better experience. The room was nice and comfortable, however the tv remote was finicky as not all of the buttons worked. Other than that and the really crappy bagged breakfasts they offered the following morning (COVID-19 being the issue), it was a nice place to stay. The room smelled nice, it was clean, the bed was comfy, service was professional and the location was convenient. In a town with little going for it, this place was a nice place to stay.
Clean lobby, halls and room. Room seemed well maintained, and clean a bit outdated. No way to move in the tiny bathroom without the door closed. With the virus I understand breakfast is pickup and take to your room, danish apple and juice or a burrito is pretty slim choice especially if staying any amount of time. Would be nice to at least offer, creamer, and honey on request.
I have been staying at this location for a number of years when I come to La Grande for business. This location has always been very accommodating and the facility is always clean and well cared for. They have a great staff . the hotel fills up regularly so book early.
Staying at the La Grande, Oregon, Best Western, was once again a pleasure. It was reassuring to know they take the COVID-19 situation seriously. They've taken steps to protect guests, such as doing take-away breakfast, having the staff wear masks, and blocking off the pool and fitness room.
Quick overnight visit to Le Grande. Clean king NS room met expectations for a BW Plus. Appreciated the microwave and bar refrigerator. Breakfast of eggs, meat and some limited fruits. Popular as a) college town, b) only BW+ and c) closer access to freeway.
My stay at the lagrande best western was a nice stay. The front desk people were always nice and quick to greet me when I was coming and going. The room was always clean. The food was always hot. And the hot tub was always inviting after work.
Excellent place. Quiet even though it is close to the free way. Great Soup in the evening. Great breakfast. Great staff. Friendly and helpful.. We like the extra sink outside the bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Heat was easy to control. Reservation was easy on Best Western site.
Clean, spacious room. Full breakfast and soup was available when we checked in. Location was quiet, although located off the main drag. Indoor pool and spa that appeared clean, did not have the opportunity to use.
Dirty rooms, bathroom was filithy. items in rooms needed repair. Very expensive best western. Breakfast was awful, potatoes cold, fake eggs and awful bacon. Need to update beds very uncomfortable. Understaffed
Right off the highway but not noisy. Spacious, modern rooms. Full breakfast every morning and soup on weeknights. Indoor pool and hot tub. Coin operated washer and dryer available for use. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small fridge and microwave in room.
I don't normally do reviews, but I thought this hotel deserved to have a good review. I only stayed one night, but I've been spending a lot of time lately in hotels for work and I wish this hotel was close to where I've been working. Such friendly service and a really comfortable hotel. Everything was clean and just looked nice. The room was comfortable and luxurious. Maybe it was just the decor, but it was nice and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated having a refrigerator and a microwave AND a Kcup coffee maker. I was only able to grab and go on the breakfast but the selection looked great and I heard the biscuits and gravy were delicious. I'll be back.
This establishment is dialed in on every aspect in hospitality. The rooms so clean, beds provide you amazing refresh and you may notice fresh creases in the drapes. The guest staff is another amazing experience. The staff genuinelly engages with you, they're present in conversation. This BW I give 100 pts. The owners really know hospitality here.
I have been stopping here almost every time I need to stop in the area and the rooms are always clean - one of the main criteria I have for hotels. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is a huge step above most hotel breakfasts with waffles, sausage, bacon and eggs and more.
We checked in for just a night, and the staff was friendly. Our room was on the ground floor and very quiet. It was clean and one of the few BW that have a refrigerator with a freezer space. I wish all the BW chain would have the refrigerator with freezer space. Especially now, that more travelers are buying the Yeti, we need the freezer space. I notice most BW have the smaller refrigerator.
Average hotel, clean rooms, good night's sleep. Elevator was broken and we were on second floor due to later arrival. Stairs are wide so that at least made it easier. Breakfast was good. Not as great as some express hotels but still nothing to really complain about here. You'll be okay staying here.
Tucked in among side streets but only a minute or two from I-84, this gem is full of surprises: an indoor pool--small but it looks refreshing--plus a workout room and full breakfast. As usual with BW, wi-fi is free and easy to connect, and the king-size bed was good enough to erase some memories of a long highway ride. Highly recommended.
My wife needs a walker and Redecca saw to it we got the right room for us. Made us feel special even thought she had hundreds a day to deal with. We will recommend to all our friends and family to stay here
lots of great updates to the property. best wifi ever in any hotel i have ever stayed in. very pleasant staff. real breakast offerings for a real meal. tucked away in a quiet area. room was appointed well .
As a Hilton Diamond member we don't stay at BW much. Very impressed. Our breakfast was better than any Hampton Inns we have been at. I was up at 4 AM and came down to get some more coffee. Rebecca was fantastic. She gave me extra coffee, and I watched her during breakfast making sure that everything in the buffet was re-supplied, etc. She really cares about what she does. BW should do all you can to keep her.
Fun times in Eastern Oregon. I'm doing the Pacific Northwest Slow Yarn crawl with my husband. The drive from Asotin WA to Union OR is beautiful and the road is breathtaking. Knitkabob Yarn Shop in Union has a great selection of yarns and a very friendly, helpful staff. Rama Inn was the perfect place to send the night. It's a very nice and comfortable hotel
To say the very least this place was not ideal. The bed wasn't comfortable at all. Should throw it out. The breakfast was just ok. The bathroom was so small it was terrible. This was a king size bed room and the only good thing I can say is that the chair they provide in the corner of the room was comfortable. The business center was in the middle of the lobby and the computer went down, finally got that back working and was good to go then. It seems to me that the rooms could use a bit of TLC. This is located in a place that there isn't a lot to choose from so this is about the only place to stay. The staff was very nice and professional.
This is an old hotel with very nicely remodeled rooms. The layout was bizarre, though, and the separate room for sitting meant there wasn't room for the beds. My bed was maybe an inch from the air conditioning unit, and it made for uncomfortable sleep. A room with just a king bed or a two-queen room where you're just using one would be fine, though. Not a lot of options in La Grande, so it is nice to have this one.
Myself and my business partner were attending an event in Baker City. We were unable to secure accommodations in Baker city and were lucky enough to happen upon this spot in La Grande after doing a little bit of research. This property is a Best Western Plus which is clean and well run. In my opinion, the best spot to stay in La Grande. The customer service was great thanks to Rebecca on the front desk who helped us out with restaurant recommendations and a few other things. Her assistance really made our stay! If I'm in the area again, I most likely will stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!
Nice staff dirty rooms...too pricey. I found two bugs in the room. The staff is nice...the breakfast was good. The pool was nice for the children to play in. My moms door to her room wouldn't close shut all the way. We stayed on the second floor the first part of our trip and the rooms seemed cleaner.
We stopped in La Grande on the way from Utah to Vancouver, Canada. The Best Western in La Grande represents the chain well - it was comfortable, clean and had friendly, helpful staff and a good breakfast. I managed to forget a valuable item in my room and received a call within a couple of hours telling me of that. The hotel staff helped me to retrieve the item - thank you so much!
This is probably one of the best hotels in La Grande. It's clean and the staff are friendly. I asked for a room on the top floor and got one. The only minor inconvenience was the complimentary breakfast service ended at 9 a.m. and I don't get up that early!
Our room was so clean even the tv remote came in a sanitized bag. Although this is an older property, it has been renovated and beds are comfortable and the room layout is good. Our room was on the highway side but we did not hear the noise. This is the type of place that makes for a happy stop passing through on a road trip.
We stayed for one night on a trip from Puyallup, WA to Twin Falls, ID. The hotel is conveniently located just off the Interstate. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was typical of what you find in similar hotels. We would stay again.
We had reservations for a Best Western in Pendleton, but when we got to Pendleton we got bad vibes and decided to try something a little farther down the road. This was where we landed. It was a perfectly find hotel, clean and with a decent breakfast. Staff was a bit distracted and not especially friendly or welcoming, but they did get us checked in.
Spent three nights in La Grande during an impromptu getaway to do some hiking and exploring the region. Booked this hotel at a higher price than some other options because it appeared to be the nicest option. It was fine. Nothing special, but clean, quiet, and the staff was nice. My only complaint would be the highly restricted water flow in the shower head - which I've come to expect, but this one was particularly restrictive and also had a leaky seal, reducing the flow even more.
Stopped here overnight on our road trip - Day one. A gem of a find in a cute town. The bed was comfy, great free breakfast with all you could want or need to fill up on. Pool was nice and free parking. Wifi is good as well. Price was decent on Expedia. Would stay here again if ever in the area.
The staff is very helpful...... with a friendly smile.. Checking in or out is quick and easy. You are provided with all the information to make your stay enjoyable. Rooms are always clean. Great breakfast selection. Always our choice is Best Western. Appreciate their perks.
I have stayed in over 20 different Best Western facilities over the last 20 years, including the one in LaGrande. I have always found them to be reliable and confortable. I noticed their logo had changed recently and realized upon entering this property that it had had an entire update and makeover. The rooms, lobby, halls and dining room have all been remodeled too. What a wonderful surprise.
We were driving for 2 days and this was a very nice and comfortable place to stay. The room was spacious and very clean. It was quiet and we got a good night sleep, since the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good with many options. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It is a typical, by which I mean pleasing, welcoming place, Best Western. The Google directions send you down and around an extra block, so look at that on your maps in advance to save a couple blocks. But it is just off the freeway, so it's handy. We got a suite upgrade, which was nice. The pool is indoors. The desk clerk gave us a (somewhat photocopied) map of the town and list of places to eat, which was helpful and made a recommendation when we asked.
I'm a fan of Best Western and a rewards member but the pricing of this property is ridiculous to the point of severe embarrassment given the hotel is located in La Grande, Oregon. With tax this place is over $200.00 dollars per night. Management should be ashamed. I recently spent seven nights in Austin, Texas at a brand Hampton Inn. That hotel is 10 times as nice in a town 100 times more exciting, at $129.00 per night. So here's the deal based on my experience in La Grande. All the other motels in this town are dirty and unkept and the management of this Best Western knows it. Therefore they play the "only game in town card" and if you don't like our price, "feel free to hit the road." This hotel is honestly a $95 per night maximum summer rate facility. My advice to any traveler is stay in Baker City or Pendleton, Oregon if you're traveling through this area. Also, be advised La Grande has an awful restaurant situation. There's only two good places to eat in town and both are Mexican.
I've stayed in a lot of Best Westers and they always treat me great. Some are certainly better than others and this one is a little nicer than the usual. But, it's also about $40 per night more expensive. I checked at the desk when I arrived to see if I could get a better rate but it wasn't possible. The evening snack was a Chili Soup that was acceptable but not outstanding. Our room was clean and nicely furnished but it certainly wasn't top tier. So how do they justify the additional expense for staying there? Beats me but I will look for other alternatives when I pass thru La Grande the next time. One other thing - the oatmeal that they served was horrible. For the price I paid for the room it was an insult. BTW - if you got anything good out of this review I would appreciate a helpful vote. I need several more million votes to earn a badge into the big hotel in the sky when I move on. Thanks
I had to travel to La Grande, Ore for my mother's funeral. About 1/2 of my family stayed at BW. Over the years BW has made some great upgrades to their rooms. The room I stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping only came in when asked, and were patient and kind when I asked them not to disturb me. The breakfast area was also very clean and neat. The food was fresh and was warm or cold, depending on what it was. And it was pretty good food! The breakfast room also provided a place for my family and I to hang out in. There is an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, both were very clean and heated just right for me. Although the reason I was in La Grande was sad, the staff at this BW made it a very nice trip. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in La Grande.
This place seems to be recently renovated and it shows. The rooms are mostly nice with good beds, very nice desk chairs and good TVs. They skimped a bit on the bathrooms, which although decent, are quite small (and the shower is not the greatest). Still, the location is good and easy to find and the breakfast is solid. I would stay there if I returned to La Grande.
Stopped here for one night heading west on I-84. Easy freeway access. Michael at the front desk was super helpful at check in and with restaurant suggestions. Cookies were a great touch. Rooms are fine. Fans are loud. Stayed in a 2 queen suite and the extra room with the couch etc. was dark and the lamp provided virtually no light whatsoever. Rooms are dark. Need updating. Breakfast was fine. Better than some. Very expensive for the location and the product.
There was a mistake on the check in date and I was billed for a day did not stay. While trying to resolve the issue they kept passing the buck and had no solutions. As a top-tier member I would have expected A lot more.
Close to the freeway so expect freeway noise. What I did not expect was the train horn throughout the night. Rooms are fairly large enough but older. Clean, well kept property. Walmart close by. They had chicken soup waiting for guest when they arrive.
Nice hotel, fairly comfortable beds. Bathroom was small, had to maneuver around door. Good breakfast bacon, sausage, eggs, cereal, fruit, etc.... Easy check-in and check-out. Great location to easily get on and off the highway.
Had hoped to stop in Baker City but limited accommodation there so this little gem was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful - they even have a list of restaurants grouped by type, and their addresses, as there are no restaurants in the immediate area of the hotel. Room was very clean; comfortable bed and pillows, and the linens soft. Breakfast offered a variety of options - definitely one of the better ones we have had in a hotel. Will definitely stop here again when we are next in the area.
Thank goodness for the convenience & peace of mind when knowing you'll be staying at a Best Western Plus. We came up from Baker City after spending the night in the tiny town of Halfway. Easy to find, take right off I84 & driving West on Hwy 82/Island Ave. Take a left turn @ Chens Chinese Cuisine or Wendy's which are the nearby restaurants you can walk to. The parking lot has plenty of free parking, there is no crowding to worry about. Our first impression was how large & well kept the building looked as we drove up. It has 2 stories with 65 rooms. Secondly, was the front-desk staff reception. Wendy greeted us & was especially hospitable & answered our questions. We are Platinum Club Members & turned down the free water for points. $150.00 including taxes for one night stay. We reserved a 2nd floor king-size bedroom facing west, avoiding freeway noise. However, we were mystified as to how we missed not hearing about the frequent train whistles that went by the Inn all night long. Be aware, the elevator is located in the back of this big building, beside the breakfast area where you would never have thought it would be located. Once we arrived on the 2nd floor, we realized our room was a very LONG way down a rather size-able stuffy hallway, which gave us a chance to work in extra steps on our Fitbits. Our door took some wrestling to open but once inside we realized it was just an older door of an up- dated Inn. It appeared the Inn was about half full that night. Did not hear anyone next door or outside in the hallways the entire stay. The room was very spacious and clean. Decorated style in masculine colors of gold, brown & red ascents. Linens and pillows were a bit thin with an extra blanket in the closet, which was needed. The King-size bed was a 3-4 star because it didn't sag & didn't wake us up when the other moved. Workable large computer desk with ECO chair & an overstuffed easy chair with ottoman for reading. Appreciate these important items when you have two adults in a room that like space.. WIFI (enough for at least 3 devices) & a 42” TV. HBO reception was not a problem. Lots of light from the only window in the room & plenty of lamps on the walls. The window coverings gave you a sense of privacy along with the ability to open the window & get fresh air. A large TV, microwave, refrigerator & coffeemaker & amenities, all worked well with no noise at night to contend with. Large dresser for storage & night stands for devices and books. Bathroom was sizable & in good working order. Good H20 pressure. Fan was not loud. Thank goodness for a working, semi loud HVAC, The weather was warm & the room was stuffy. Not sure we could have done 2 nights with having to have it on during the night for white noise & comfort. Seriously, we were thrilled at having a warm breakfast available to us the next morning. It's been as though the breakfast brigades have been on strike in Eastern Washington & Oregon. Yes, waffles, biscuits & gravy, warm egg omelets w/cheese, real breakfast meat, pastries, yogurt, breakfast cereals,…..hot coffee with everything in the right places so you didn't have to ask for anything. Amazing!! Nice breakfast room, plenty of light from the outside & it wasn't too crowded. Oh, by the way. Excellent dinner @ the 5 star La Fiesta Mexican restaurant a couple miles down the road. No need for reservations. Substantial, warm, delicious traditional Mexican combination dinners at a great price. Will definitely be back for both.
Clean and friendly environment! Will be staying in this hotel again on next stay to the area. Breakfast was one of the best that we have eaten at a Best Western. Close to all areas of town and in a nice part of town.
We did a last-minute booking at this property, and got a better rate by calling than was online. The property met my expectations for a Plus level, except that they didn't comp bottled waters. Nice property, breakfast is at the Plus level.
We usually stay at Best Western hotels because they are clean and the beds are usually good. This is however, the second time we have stayed in a Best Western in the last three months with a lousy bed. It sagged in the middle and was simply worn out. The room was clean and the staff was polite.
This is the hotel to stay when in town or near. Very clean rooms and updated rooms, nice pool area. The staff is very friendly. Internet works great too. Breakfast is good and dinner soup is always good. Very reasonable on price.
First time staying in LaGrande, and it was a very nice hotel. Bed comfortable, temperature warm but not loud, bathroom well equipped with good towels and water pressure. Check in was efficient and friendly. Hotel within a mile of restaurants downtown. Breakfast was good with many options including scrambled eggs and egg patties, sausage and bacon, biscuits and gravy, make your own waffles, as well as pastries, yogurt, cereals and oatmeal. Lots of coffee options and water for tea. Pretty pleased with experience
Excellent room, service, attitude, evening soup and breakfast. Staff went out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed. Slept well in comfortable room. Quiet, even though close to freeway. Free newspaper at counter.
It's a solid Best Western, really nothing to expand on. Clean, rooms are quiet, staff friendly, really no issues at all. I'll be in and out of La Grande for work a decent amount and really don't see any reason to stay anywhere else!
Well, this is a nice property but if you are traveling for business, bring the following: 1. WiFi Hotspot because the WIFI is very inadequate 2. Multi plug adapter on a long extension cord because you are limited with electric plugs that stay on without the lights around the desk. Wish there were a Hampton.....
Stopped here in the way to Seattle. Not much choice of hotel in Le Grande. Picked Best Western, it was pricey at $152.00 per night but they have a captive audience next to i84. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast was tasty but the hotel feels cheap and tired.
I stay at the Best Western every time I stay in LaGrande. The rooms are clean, the staff are easy to deal with and cheerful. Beds are comfortable which is a important part of a stay. Plus I seldom have any issues with noise keeping me awake. There are several breakfast choices to enjoy.
The staff is amazing, helpful, kind, prompt, hard working, and friendly. Rooms were clean and nice. The front desk women was always available and was very nice. She was always friendly and greated me with a smile. The women who put out the great breakfast was very nice, she made sure the food was hot, and nothing ran out. She was also very friendly. The housekeepers were very polite and when I needed anything they brought it right away and the rooms were very clean. The staff and hotel was wonderful I would recommend if in the area of La Grande. I would stay here again as well.
A comfortable, convenient hotel - easy to access from the freeway and close to downtown La Grande. The whole property was clean, the room was clean and well furnished. We appreciated the movable table for in room dining and the ottoman which served as a second chair. The room was spacious and the two luggage racks were a nice addition and put to use. The front desk clerk was delightful in personality and professionalism. The breakfast was as expected, but no bananas? Maybe all eaten!
This BW had the best breakfast of any of the BW motels where we have stayed. There were two luggage racks so my wife and I could both racks for our suitcases. I wish there were more to do around La Grande so we could stay there again.
We always stay at this Best Western when visiting family in La Grande. The staff is friendly and accommodating, breakfast is adequate and nicely presented. Although we didn't use the fitness room this time, we have used it previously and it has very professional equipment.
This hotel is right off the freeway. There are several fast food options within walking distance. The room was clean and larger than many rooms we have stayed in at other hotels. The breakfast was good--a large variety of both hot and cold options. We would definitely stay here again.
Visiting for EOU Volleyball game weekend, and decided to save ourselves from driving home after the game. Room is comfortable, quiet, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, etc... and we did use the exercise room (very clean and nice), and did some laps in the pool and ended up enjoying the hot tub. Breakfast was shared with another College volleyball team and coaches so it was a little crowded, but the service staff kept the Breakfast bar well supplied! Complete breakfast and then some - and good coffee! We extended out stay by another day as we enjoyed it so much. Close to everything we needed, also. Staff was very polite and helpful!
When you pay a hefty price to stay at a Best Western "Plus" you expect a great experience. This was so far from it. Let's just say we did not receive a clean room and throughout our stay NEVER did. And worse yet; we were never given an explanation.
Worst hotel my husband and I have stayed in. We asked about early check-in and the front desk staff person bit our heads off. Apparently we interrupted gossip hour in the back room because once we walked away we could hear her bad-mouthing us for asking if we could check-in early. Apparently this makes us "stupid." Later we found out several members of our party had been able to check in early with no problems. They must have had someone different at the desk when they arrived. Our room was disgusting. The sheets had stains all over them and there were hairs. We were afraid to ask for clean linens after what had happened to us earlier, so we tried wiping down the sheets ourselves and sucking it up for one night. The towels all had stains on them, several of them hard and crusty. I have no desire to know what those were. The shower drain was clogged and water backed up. We were asked to review the hotel, so we did. We were contacted by a "regional manager" named Krystie about the issue who said our business was "very important," but she never addressed the issues we surveyed the property on, and never bothered to apologize. We will be avoiding this hotel and all Best Westerns from here on out.
This was the last hotel we stayed in for our 8-night roadtrip of WA, ID, MT, WY, and OR. It was our favorite hotel on the trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the pool was amazing. The water was perfectly clear and the staff obviously works hard to keep everything nice.
Room was clean. A/C unit worked well without being overly noisy. Nice size fridge that was clean. The pool area was clean and stocked with towels. Breakfast was a nice selection and the area was clean. Would stay here again.
I needed an ADA room since I am temporarily in a wheelchair. The room was easy to get around in my wheelchair. The room was very clean. Pleasant stay. I did think the price was a bit high for the location.
We stay here several times a year. The hotel is very clean, well kept and the staff is professional and very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and always very clean. Easy location from freeway and town. We have never had a bad stay at the hotel.
This was a last minute / a walk in booking - We actually had a booking at another hotel (opposite this one) but on arrival we were told that all their technology was down & seeing as it was our daughter's Birthday we needed to Skype with her that evening ... so we walked across the road to this (Best Western Plus Rama Inn & Suites) hotel. We ended up paying quite a bit more here (at least double the amount) but given the circumstances we had to do it. It turned out to be a really good hotel with the additional cost being obvious at a glance. We were given Room 215 (top floor which we always prefer) which had 3 separate areas with 2 TV's making it very spacious. The room also had our standard prerequisites Air Con, Fridge, M'Wave, Coffee facilities (Free Breakfast, Internet & On-site parking are our other must have's). The bed was comfy so we has a good night's sleep. The hotel itself was nicely presented & clean Staff were welcoming & Michael at Reception was very engaging. That evening we enjoyed the Hot Split Pea Soup (made by Liz) along with some crackers - this was a really nice touch. According to hubby - Breakfast was the Best he'd had so far. So all in all we had a good stay.
We stayed here on our way home from a backpacking trip in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. The hotel is right off the highway. The front desk stay was very pleasant, giving us several recommendations for places to eat dinner. Our room was very clean. The hotel was quite. The continental breakfast was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised at the choices: two choices of eggs; bacon and sausage; biscuits and gravy; waffles with toppings; oatmeal with toppings; cereal; bread, english muffins and bagels; muffins and cinnamon rolls; fruit; and yogurt. Definitely something to please everyone. We did not use the pool, but it looked to be a decent size and well maintained. The only issue was the mattress on our bed, which sagged in the middle. When I mentioned this to the person at check out, she said they were in the process of replacing all of the mattresses. Hopefully, this one will be replaced soon. Overall, this was a great hotel and we would certainly stay here again.
The room was very clean and nice. Beds were comfy and lots of pillows. The shower head in bathroom was great. We had a nice sized fridge in our room. As my title says the two ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful. Gave us directions to a Safeway nearby, as well as a recommendation for dinner. It was a Sunday and quite a few of the restaurants in the area were closed. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good. On the day we stayed there were scrambled eggs, sausage patties and potatoe patties. We were on the first floor and it was very quiet. I would stay here again if in the area in the future.
I love this place. The staff is friendly and the local is incredible. The breakfast is always good and the beds are very comfortable. I stay here every time I come to town and will every time that I return. It is a pleasure.
We stayed at this hotel on a Tuesday and a Friday - doing a 3 day bicycle tour in between. The hotel was great about letting us leave our car in their lot and when we returned on Friday (way before check-in time), the desk manager (Liz) really went above and beyond for us. She gave us a pool pass so we could relax and kept an eye on our stuff in the lobby. We were also able to do laundry, and by the time a room was ready (2 hours before the “official” check in time) we were rested and had all of our clothes clean! Our room (both nights) was very clean and quiet, and we thought that the breakfast was fine. We'd stay here again!
I liked what i saw on line but was shocked when I arrived at the property. It was so drastically different, i went a head and booked and checked into a different hotel. Noting this was on the corporate site where i booked. I wasted hours of my precious travel time with their customer service on the phone and got no where. Wasted more time and provided feedback, only to realize they do this intentionally to trap people. OK it was my cost of learning the fact that this chain is not to be trusted and I will make sure all my friends stay away from them. yOU CAN FIND OUT THE HARD WAY TOO, IF YOU WANT
I always expect excellent quality of a Best Western and this didn't disappoint. The accommodations were clean and up to date. The complementary breakfast was decent quality. The pool and hot tub were indoors and nicely sized
We were traveling there for Church conference. We were also using free points to stay...The room was nice and it was quiet. No issues at all....There rooms are fairly recently upgraded it appears so we enjoyed our 3-4 night stay
We stayed at this BW for just one night and actually were there for only about 12 hours as we drove between Elgin and Walla Walla. Check in was very fast and the lady was very friendly. She was working a double and she also checked us out the next morning. A very friendly and welcoming staffer. The room was immaculate and quiet. The bed very comfortable. Breakfast as per our usual findings at BW was terrific with plenty of choices to get filled up on. The coffee in particular was excellent. The staffer who monitored the breakfast room did a super job of keeping everything stocked and clean. Definitely would recommend this BW to anyone and we'd definitely return here.
clean, comfortable, attentive staff, good breakfast, freeway close, affordable, good rewards program. adequate fitness room, on-site pool, usually ready availability of rooms. compared to local alternatives, this hotel is as good as La Grande has to offer for out of town business.
La Grande is about half way on a trip from Vancouver, BC to Salt Lake City, UT, and nicely splits a 2-day drive. The Best Western in La Grande is a quality place to stay. The rooms are large and very clean, the location is quiet (despite being not that far from the highway), and the king beds are comfortable and luxurious. The WiFI was fast - quite suitable for streaming movies if that is what you want. The room comes with a decent breakfast. Staff were friendly but unobtrusive.
Ok let's start from the beginning when I actually thought this hotel was going to be great...... started off with a couple calls to the hotel front desk where I spoke with a very nice young lady who lives on island. We talked about early check in and late check out times and I told her I would call back regarding booking..I couple hours later I called back to book and she asked me about being members or triple a members and she said she got us a great rate of $108 a night, I said wow that's good, what about taxes? She says that's included! She then said yes it's a good rate considering it's peak season and rates are normally 170 a night. I agreed what a great rate, she went over personal info and got my credit card info and confirmed the nights and we were done. I waited for a confirmation email but did not receive one, so I called back 2 more times to request one and never got one that night. I called the 800 number and they stated the reservation was there but couldn't send the email only the hotel could... but that my rate was different... I said must have been a mistake and I'd call the hotel in the morning since it was 10pm at this time. Next morning I call the hotel to get the email sent and to get the rate fixed, the girl who answers gets the email sent which I get and I ask her about the rate she sag no matter what was said the rate is the 170 rate..... I ask her to speak with a manager she states she is the front desk manager.... I ask her if the calls are recorded and she states yes, so o ask her to listen to the call and have herself or her boss contact me.... 1 hour later a man named KD or KB calls me saying he is the general manager and starts rambling off how the hotel never in its 20 yrs offered a rate of $108 a night and wouldn't be able to stay in business if it did..I allow him to continue his ramble and state that's not the point... and then I ask him if he listened to the call, he says their calls aren't recorded... I asked then why did your manager state that they were?!?! He then gets defensive (mind you I haven't even gotten upset or raised my voice once) and he says I'm not going to get into it with what was said... I'm trying to fix this... oh great, how can we fix this I say...... he says well at this point it doesn't sound like you'll be happy here and we should look at butting you at another hotel?!? Now I'm like wth?!?!? He says he doesn't think I'll enjoying staying there?!? How would he know... plus he never offered an apology or any way to “fix” the issue... he says maybe you should just call corporate .... at this point I'm at a lose of words and say yah I think that's best and Hang up... well turns out this is the OWNER of this best western and guess what else he CANCELED my reservation without my knowledge and didn't even send an email or anything telling me that when I arrive in a few hours I won't have a hotel to stay at!!!!!!!!! I contact best western who tell me this little bit of information which had they not this could have really been a big issues... Do not stay at this hotel! Stay in a condo or anywhere else... someone that owns a location like this and treats his customers the way he did should not be running a business! Never once did I expect the 108 rate once it was confirmed that it was incorrect... what I wanted was the rate that I got online that was cheaper than what I booked at.... but not once did he listen or even offer to help.... sooo $10 a night just cost you a customer, bad reviews, and referrals
I was pleased with the overall appearance of the hotel and my room. It was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was pretty decent. Out of all the hotels in La Grande, this one is my first choice to stay at.
Clean and comfortable. Well maintained with friendly staff. The room was well taken care of, the bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. A can't go wrong options for business or pleasure. I was traveling for business and enjoyed the fact that there were some places to eat close by within walking distance so as to be able to stretch my legs after a days worth of driving.
Rama Inn is the best choice in the LaGrande area and we have stayed at other properties. The breakfast is typical of an included hotel breakfast, but includes hot and cold selections. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have counters next to sinks. A desk and chairs add to room function, and beds/bedding are comfortable. Staff is friendly, efficient. Price is higher than other properties in area, but you get what you pay for.
We needed a night on a road journey and were getting tired after coming over the pass from the west. Looking at the motels in the area we noticed a lot of working vehicles at the Best Western. Our experience is that people who stay on the road for work usually pick good, clean and quiet places. We were not wrong. It was a great stay. Access off I -84 is easy and close. The lobby is modern and clean and desk staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. The room was large, clean and well maintained. Everything worked. It was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and in addition on Tuesday to Thursday there is complementary soup and crackers from 5 to 7. Fast food and drinks in easy walking distance and they will give you a map and list of local restaurants. Great place and we would stay again.
We had a two queen bed room. We had lots of space. The furnishings and bed were comfortable. The room had mini refrigerator and microwave. Being members of the Best Western loyalty program was were given a lower rate than the one we received when we booked it. They offered free soup in the evening and a hot breakfast in the morning. We would stay here again. My husband says they get a five for effort. I have to say that I liked it. I liked the vibe, the friendly staff, the Ernest effort to please, and since it's my review, I rate them a La Grand 5!
1 night for business. Friendly people and clean updated room. TV remote weird and hard to find HD channels. Breakfast is one step above HIE with standard scrambled eggs, bacon and such. Looks to be the best place in town, right off the freeway.
We had no reservations. Had to stop for the night because of snow storm. Plenty of rooms available. Rooms were very clean and neat.(and warm) Clerk was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend when heading thru Oregon.
I stay here when I am in the area. Right off I84, close to historic downtown LaGrande, close to Anthony lakes ski area. A good spot to work from when visiting the area. Friendly staff, Tuesday soup night is nice.
Of the three hotels in the immediate area. this one is head and shoulders above the others. It costs a little more but is well worth it. Rooms and public area's of the hotel are in great shape and very clean . The indoor pool and spa were sparking and in perfect order. Everything smelled fresh and looked modern. If I had to nit pic, I would say they need to inspect rooms for functional problems more. Our HVAC poured heat out even when set to 58. The shower head sprayed everywhere, We had a dead GFCI outlet and the battery in the remote was nearly dead. To only find these extremely minor issues is testament to how good this place really is. I would stay here again without hesitation. I would NOT stay at the Sandman next door.
very good place to stay, high quality bedding, comfortable and safe, very pleasant staff, easy check in. breakfast included, some healthy items, such as fresh fruit, low sugar yogurts close to highway
Living fairly close to LaGrande I don't often have reason to sleep in LaGrande. But when I do, I choose the Best Western Plus Rama Inn. The rooms are clean, the mattresses very comfortable, and the hotel is very quiet despite its location next to Interstate 84. Over the years I've stayed in some others and am now convinced I'll stay only here.
Great time, as usual. We stay at this hotel at least twice per year for family events and it's always pleasant. The breakfast area is great, food is better than any other hotel I've experienced & the pool is a blast for the kiddos. Recommend for sure!
This hotel surprised us with its quality...The rooms are newer, clean, and smell good. The breakfast was good, and the staff hustles to be sure that everyone is satisfied. I won't stay in any other hotel in LaGrande again!
Best Western has done it again. They always have a top notch place and staff. Breakfast was good and plenty to eat. This is always out go to place in La Grande unless we have our corgi with us. If only they had a few pet friendly rooms for small pets!
Professional, Courteous, very friendly, and very clean a very nice place to stay, pleasant staff. Would refer your motel to all our friends and we will be back. Convenient off & on from the freeway and good access to local amentias,
I made the reservations about 6 hours before I was going to stop for the night. Maybe I could have saved a little money had I been able to plan ahead. Sleeping was easy. Very comfortable queen beds. Breakfast and options were I think a little better than the average "free breakfast". Presented well and kept clean.
This is the recommended place to stay while in La Grande. This is a great hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. The location is close to the freeway but not noisy. The breakfast includes a variety of food items.
The quality of the hotel itself is nice, overpriced, but nice. Honestly, we will probably look to try another hotel in this area on our next trip to this area. We will be visiting La Grande regularly as we have a college student there. It is just too expensive for what we get. The breakfast leaves much to be desired, little to no in room coffee with the condiments, leaves one questioning how they can justify charging so much.
I needed to cancel my reservation within 30 minutes of making it and the hotel would not let me. Shady, shady, shady... My room stunk like a sour dish rag and I found the source of the odor the next morning when I turned on the shower and could immediately tell it was the shower curtain. Yuck. My door did not closed easily, I had to pull it shut and the electronic lock did not work well. Way too much money for the location and the overall experience. Staff was friendly and appeared caring.
I stay at this location on business trips several times a year and I am always hosted very well. The rooms are clean and the facility is always well maintained. It is a busy hotel and often sold out so if you are making reservations for this site make them early. The hotel is close to the freeway so it is easy off and on for location. there are several fast food options across the block from the hotel as well as a Chinese restaurant all within walking distance.
One of the newer, cleanest BW's I've stayed at in my travels. Convenient, quiet property. Located close to towns, walking distance to a great pizza-pub. The staff was caring, clean and profession at all times.
Room overall was clean and comfortable except for a few minor items. Shower fixture was very corroded and could not be adjusted adequately. One day our bed was made but the bathroom was not cleaned. Also reserved a room for my son and his family and their TV did not work. Staff was not very helpful and never got the TV working for the entire stay.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Fantastic staff and the included breakfast was really the best I have had for a hotel buffet short of a 5 star place where they had carving tables. This was so much better than the cereal and coffee you usually get at a value hotel
Rooms were nice and staff were professional but breakfast was not well received. Staff was not friendly and seened a little overwhelmed. Food and coffee were not refreshed until guests went and asked. Also syrup and bread ran out regularly.
This hotel had ample parking and a decent location. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. I didn't care for the fan when you turned on the bathroom light which was noisy. We did enjoy the pool and hot tub. Ample towels. My issue was that if you have a sign that says to ask about gluten-free and dairy-free items at breakfast and then you inquire about them and the first person has no idea what you are asking and the second person says they don't have any, then don't put out the sign that says you offer something. They did offer soy milk (for my coffee) but otherwise I ate some bacon and part of a sausage patty. The hashbrowns were hard as a rock. The other issue was the price. For the area it seemed a bit high. It was a nice place, don't get me wrong, but I think we could have stayed anywhere else in town for much cheaper.
Clean rooms, usually pretty quiet. We stay here every time we are in La Grande. Nice to have breakfast option included in room price. Close to a great little Greek restaurant Yia Yia Nikkis. You could almost walk there.
I feel so humiliated! I looked on my credit card and found a $200 charge above and beyond the price of the room. I called the front desk. The attendant accused me of smoking marijuana in my room!!! I will fight this. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fight false accusations???
Easy access from highway. Lots of places to eat nearby. Front desk very nice. Rooms very clean. Air conditioner noisy. Breakfast very good. We fid not use pool, looked nice, but we did not have swimsuits. Nice highway stop.
Great place to stay when in La Grande! Comfortable bed, great breakfast, friendly staff. Everything was clean and in working order. Family suite available- which is a great option for families of 4 or more. We will stay here again when we are in town!
Stayed just one night. The housekeeping staff work tirelessly and it shows. Sadly the pool was not clean. We were there on a Saturday, The breakfast was hot and plenty of variety. Easy check in and out. They provided rags for us to clean our motorcycle.
The staff is great, pool hours good, hot tub clean, comfy beds...great place to stay! Great coffee, friendly front desk staff. Great location to highway or food and the fitness center is o.k. LaGrande has a lot to offer and this is great place to stay and be ready for adventure nearby.
Hotel was very clean. Free Internet and free breakfast were good. Hotel staff were very professional and easy to access. Check-in and check-out were fast and convenient. Overall, I recommend this hotel.
we arrived a bit early but the staff worked to get us checked in and into our room. They went beyond their assigned duties to make our stay positive. Thank you. The room was clean and very comfortable. I would come back here.
Excellent staff service. Room was very roomy, clean and comfy. Coffeemaker in room neat very nice to operate. Great breakfast, lots of things to choose from. Toolk all kinds of dietary needs into consideration. Great!
Everything about this property is clean, comfortable and welcoming. It was an excellent and relaxing stay. The front desk folks were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The facilities are all well taken care of, the breakfast was great, and the staff went the extra mile.
Get spot to stay when traveling through Northern Oregon. Friendly staff. Nice, clean rooms that have recently been refurbished. Convenient on site work out room with indoor pool. All your needs at one location with great food options nearby in this fun and interesting town.
Very nice hotel, great staff, price was ok. but was surrounded by much cheaper hotels but this Best Western hotel was so much cleaner and the grounds were well kept. Rooms were very clean and comfortable all in all my stay was excellent
In all this motel was just another clean, older motel that was too pricey for the ten hours I was there. The room was a clean, single king that had a typical king bed, refrig, coffee maker and microwave. The television, though it was claimed to be accessible to many channels was only accessible to about eight. The internet was slow, sketchy and my firewall kept blocking attempted "intrusions" so I shut down my laptop and did my work the next day from a rest area along I-84. For the price I won't be back. The motel was over priced by far. The worse part is I turned down another room from a competitor in the same town, La Grande, Oregon because I thought the room was overpriced. That particular room was more than thirty dollars less than they charged for this one. My wife booked this one on the phone after I turned down the other one. It's a college town and a lot of folks were looking for rooms to stay while they sent their kids off to school. I most likely will never be back through there but hey, when I can normally get a good room for thirty to fifty dollars less per night I'll probably be staying elsewhere if I do get back that way.
Very well maintained, room was spotless and beds very comfortable.Easy parking. Close by eating places within walking distance. Internet worked well. Staff very helpful and friendly. The free breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. Small college town so there were several pubs and restaurants in the downtown area.
Love this hotel. Kid friendly, elderly friendly and anything in between. The pool is great! The staff is awesome!! Close to fast food which is good for grandparents with grandkids in tow. I highly recommend this hotel!!
A good place for a stopover while traveling along I-84. The hotel was a little noisy - loud air conditioner or freeway noise if the air conditioner was off. Try to get a room on the side away from the freeway. The room was large and clean.
We planned a one night hotel stay in the middle of our week-long camping vacation, and extended our stay to two nights. This BW was clean and comfortable, and was a welcome respite from the heat wave and was a good launching point to go to explore the Wallowas. We enjoyed the evening soup and crackers, the freshly baked cookies, and the morning breakfast. This all added great value to our stay. We are a family of 4, and had plenty of room and enjoyed our stay.
Other than the corporate Best Western phone call experience, this hotel pleasantly surprised me with the cleanliness and overall quality of the hotel and room. The breakfast was great and the location of the hotel was perfect for our needs.
The rooms at this best western were clean and friendly. The air conditioning was very efficient and the staff were ALL friendly. This stay was one of the best I have had in years. Try Houghts 24 flavors while in town!
The reservations were made on the phone with BW in LaGrande with good results. The front desk staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable & clean. We were only there one night, but would stay there next time.
The inn is a bit pricey compared to other Best Western inns. However, because its decor and the property in general, it is a cut above the run-of-the-mill Best Westerns we've stayed at in the past, so I give it a higher rating. The rooms are spacious and quite comfortable. My only complaint about this room was that the king-sized bed was located right next to the air-conditioning unit, which blew cold air on us all night long. At one point I became cold. This room had a jetted tub in it, which may be different from the regular king-sized room. The inn had a fitness facility, business center, hot tub, and indoor pool. It is also a 100% non-smoking hotel. I would consider staying there again when in the area.
I look forward to my stay here every month. The staff are helpful and courteous. There are thoughtful amenities like hot soup and crackers in the evening, ice tea and fresh baked cookies in lobby, and excellent cofffee and breakfast in the morning. It is also very clean.
Good size hotel with clean and cozy rooms. They offer free breakfast which is convenient. Breakfast choices are ok. The beds are comfortable but I just dont like the pillows. They are too bulky for my head, as I prefer a little flat and soft.
I knew it was more expensive than the other hotels very nearby but after talking directly to the front desk I decided to pay the extra money for what I thought would be an enjoyable stop. I was traveling with my elderly mother and requested a handicapped and an adjoining room. She needs help and is afraid being alone in a room by herself. The front desk said they had what I needed and made the reservation. But when we checked in, I was told, that room has already been given to someone else and I would be across the hall. She was scared (and so was I) all night. When they checked us in, all he could say was sorry. When I checked out, all they could say was sorry and took $20.00 off the bill for TWO rooms. If she had fallen during the night it would have been horrible. Calling ahead doesn't seem to help. I am very frustrated that together we paid over $300 to have a scary night. This hotel is NOT worth the extra money! Thanks for nothing.
BWP Rama Inn and Suites works as a place to break a journey along I-84. We stayed two nights, using this location as a jumping off point for exploring Enterprise, Joseph, and Wallowa Lake on a day excursion. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: BWP Rama Inn is located in a little cluster of fast food joints and other low to mid-range motels just off of the Wallowa Lake Highway exit from I-84. While it's easy to see from the interstate, getting to 21st street isn't obvious without GPS or Google maps. Once we arrived, the BWP Rama Inn looked like any other mid-range motel. The reception area is compact and functional in appearance. Front desk service was friendly and check in was fast. We parked at the end of the long building and accessed it through the rear door using our key cards. THE ROOM: Our room (#136) was handicap-accessible (though neither of us are disabled) and located right next to the rear hallway door. Something was wrong with the electronic door lock because it took between 5-10 attempts with each of our key cards to unlock the door. We reported this problem to the front desk, and at first we attributed the problem to our cards being inadvertently demagnetized by our iPhones. Unfortunately, the problem continued but only with the door to our room. The room was spacious with dark walls and sparse lighting, furnished in a "traditional" style, and included a microwave oven, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker. The in room HVAC was moderately noisy but effective. The beds were so-so in comfort; I disliked the small, squishy pillows. The accessible bathroom included the toilet and shower and a single overhead dim light automatically connected to a loud fan. Using the toilet in the middle of the night resulted, at least briefly, in light and noise bothering my sleeping partner. The sink with amenities was located outside of the bathroom in the entrance area. I don't know if standard (non-accessible) rooms have the same design; but, we found this configuration to be less than ideal. Our room, located on the ground floor next to the rear entrance, was afflicted by the rear door slamming every time anyone entered or exited through that door. Building construction was such that we could hear (and almost feel) people walking/stomping around on the second floor, and this was especially bothersome early in the morning. COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST was average. FITNESS ROOM included a single treadmill, elliptical, and recumbent bike in a well lit and ventilated room. Two flat screens, towels and water were available. Overall, this was an OK stay in spite of the shortcomings. Frankly, I don't understand the difference between a "regular" Best Western and Best Western Plus. My partner and I are infrequent guests at Best Western properties and generally think of them in the same league as Marriott's Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Perhaps our expectations were a little too high for this property; however, given the local competition, the Rama Inn is probably the best choice in the area.
We were in La Grande for our grandsons wedding, we took my wife's new service puppy. Even though we only were in the motel to sleep the staff went out of their w at to make us comfortable. They made sure we were on the bottom floor, close to the outside door, much appreciated!!!! Cleaning staff left sweet notes about puppy because they saw her in hallway on our way out each day. Next visit to grandson we will definitely stay there. Thank you Best Western
We stopped overnight on a journey back home. Comfortable room, excellent self service breakfast. Shame hotel doesn't have a bar or restaurant, but plenty of places to eat nearby. I thought a little overpriced for basically just a room and breakfast, but would stay again.
I was skeptical at first but completely satisfied with our stay wonderful staff neat clean tidy room delicious breakfast options and great service The check-in was quick and easy, the online reservation system easy, we were offered soup upon arrival, great Wi-Fi plus towels and everything in our room was in order in please
I was pleasantly surprised to find such a comfortable, nice place in (ok, this may be snobby -- I am used to large cities) the middle of nowhere. The beds were great. Breakfast was filling and easy to access. The pool was small, but uncrowded, and only went to five feet so I didn't get anxious about my kids. The hot tub was not too hot. WiFi worked great. It was really good for a family. I would certainly choose this place again if I were coming this way. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The room smelled very bad like body odor. The pillows were very uncomfortable. There were no choices when I asked if they had other pillows to choose from. If you have to stay in LaGrande Oregon you might try someplace else. But there's not very many choices and the price is high for what you get. The good news is the breakfast was good
Several family members stayed at the hotel, worked well for our needs. We were surprised for a Best Western Plus to have hotel room window shears that were torn up. We were told that they were on order and replacing them and they were sun damaged.
Some Nature around the area as we seen deer in the field next door. We had a 2 Queen Bed and had lots of room to move around and being tall I need that. Over-all it was a nice stay and service was good.
After driving the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway this was the place to stay at night for me. Here we have a very clean and modern Best Western. My room (#225) was very comfy and clean. The stuff was very helpful and friendly. The indoor pool was nice and clean. Breakfast was good and wifi worked well. Although we have a very good BW here I think the rates are overprized for such a remote location (sorry La Grande). However, I can recommend this place!
About what you'd expect for La Grande. Nothing to rave about, but comfortable, very friendly staff, clean room and convenient location far enough away from I-84 noise. Breakfast was the usual fare except for generously-sized Oikos Greek yogurt cups alongside a refrigerated fresh fruit topping. Bonus points! The only ding I would give was that it seemed a bit overpriced for the geographic location and BW-Plus rating, IMO. I had a free night with BW points and had to pay an additional fee on top of that.
To visit family and attend All-Star football game. Hotel staff was great. Breakfast could go longer as we were enjoying our vacation and missed breakfast one day due to it only lasting til 9am. Spa was a little on the cold side, but over all we enjoyed our stay.
Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The wi fi and breakfast were also good. The major thing I can say was that it was overpriced . The bathroom is small and you had to close the door to get to the can. People at the desk were friendly and helpful. Perhaps if it was rated as a regular Best Western instead of a Plus I would feel better about this place. If you don't mind the cost you'll be comfortable staying here. I'd stay again if I could get a price in the $90 range.
I have stayed at this location several times ad they do a great job with breakfast the rooms are clean and despite being right next to busy I-84 it is a quiet hotel. It is located close to a number of fast food options and right off the freeway for those needing to venture out for a fancier venue for dinner. The pool and hot tub are nice and seem to be well maintained. Parking is at a premium but usually works out, as there are other parking lots adjacent
We finally got a room here. The past couple of times it has been full. Very, very clean rooms and facility. Bed was comfy and room quiet even though we were on the ground floor. Nice breakfast that gets you ready to move ahead for the day.
Was there on Red Cross business and because we finished on Sunday about I hour after check out time I had to leave for home. At check out I got a bill for the 3 nights but the next norming I received a email from regional manager charging me for the full night I did not stay and had raised the room rate by another $15. How sad to do this for retired volunteers for the Red Cross that have to pay their own expenses out of there own money.
I don't know that I have encountered a cleaner hotel in my entire life. The pool and hot tub were not only sparkling clean, but the perfect temperature and we had them to ourselves for a portion of both visits. The staff is friendly an accommodating (one kind receptionist even spent a chunk of her time trying to help my date find the channel for a program he'd carelessly surfed away from. The internet service was fast and steady. Breakfast was everything we could want. My only complaint, and it could be a detractor if you're budget conscious, is the price. This luxury comes at a price.
Staff and onsite manager are not authorized to make good business decisions or adjust billings for customers. Blow dryer blew up / caught fire in my face and all the front desk had to say was "sorry". Didn't replace blow dryer even though I asked for one. Had to call in the morning to remind them i NEEDED one.
We highly recommend. Everything was what you expect and they exceeded our expectations. Definitely, will stay there again. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast - lot of variety and was good. Very clean facilities.
We stayed here for a family reunion. The room was clean and a decent size. The only issue we had was that the tub was plugged. They repaired it while we were out of the unit that day. The breakfast was decent. They had scrambled eggs, hash brown patties, bacon, sausage, waffles, some fresh fruit, yogurts, oatmeal (however it was way too thick and tasted like paste). Those in my party complained that the pillows were too thick. I had brought my own pillow, so I did not have the problem.
We spent one night at BW plus in La Grande. One things truly stands out, every house keeper we wished us a good morning with a smile. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast is one of the best I have seen. Great stay would stay there again if in La Grande. Great working area in lobby for laptops.
The room and the beds were very comfortable and deserve 4 stars! And so does the bathroom. However we didn't like the plastic and paper cups that are provided in the room. Nothing worse then having a nice wine in a plastic glass!! When we asked if we could have proper glasses we were told that they didn't have any! And like lots of hotels/motels, there is only one comfortable chair. The breakfast is very basic and again all paper plates and cups! But it is okay for one night.
Not understanding of sudden Military schedule adjustments at all. Had to cancel with less that 24hrs notice for reasons outside my control and they were just down rite rude about it and. Luke careless.
I stayed two nights last week while moving a family member to La Grande. The staff was friendly and polite on check in, and I found the room to be very fresh, nice, clean, convenient, and among the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in. there is an indoor pool and spa here, and used both. The pool is well cared for and clean, which is not always the case at many motels. There are also pool towels available, so you don't need to use your room towels. The breakfast was wonderful. Adequate table space for guests during the breakfast rush, and a good selection of foods, to include cheese omelettes, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, breads, biscuits, muffins, etc. I would recommend this motel.
Excellent stay & pricing...a very quiet hotel and extremely friendly staff...recommend to anyone staying in LaGrande Oregon...very convenient location....easy to get where you are going to and from hotel great pool and spa very clean
Right off I-84, it was a nice quiet place. I had one of the suites. It was smaller than some BW suites I've seen, but it was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful and theirs all the services you might need nearby. I'd recommend it for a stopover.
We enjoyed our recent stay here. The rooms were clean, comfortable and recently updated. Staff was courteous. Stephanie in the breakfast area was extremely helpful as one of our party was sick and she helped get a tray ready to take to the room. Use your GPS as finding the entrance is a little wonky, but definitely one of the nicer places in town to stay.
Clean, quiet, and very friendly staff. I will stay here each time I am in La Grande. The staff suggested a few places to eat dinner at and everyone was very friendly at check in and check out. Breakfast was very good and had more choices than most other hotels, clean eating area. The hotel is next to a on ramp to the freeway but it was still very quiet and I enjoyed my stay here.
We stopped here for one night. The staff was very friendly and gave us a ground floor room. The two queen bedroom was large and well laid out and nicely decorated, but the bed mattress was too soft for my liking. There were plenty of fast food restaurants within walking distance, but no mid-range restaurants to walk to. The breakfast provided was great. The hotel is a no-pet hotel which was Ok with us since we didn't have a pet.
Well worth the price we paid! Our family had a great night stay and as far as Hotel Breakfasts it was fabulous! Lots of choices, build your own omelet, build your own oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, blueberry and plain Belgian waffles. The Hotel was newly remodeled and very clean!! Staff was very helpful and friendly!
Only one night here for us, but I would be thrilled to come back anytime. They just do everything right! The room was large and comfortable and squeaky clean. We had a very relaxed and quiet night. The beds are plush. Breakfast had anything you'd ever expect and more - several choices in coffee, warm biscuits, hot gravy and sausage, even real blueberries for the fresh waffle - and more! All served in a bright, comfortable breakfast room. The hotel has lots on offer with an exercise room and indoor pool. Soup and crackers are on offer starting at 5 PM. At 7 PM look for freshly baked cookies. Wow! We were very impressed. The staff and front desk are helpful and pleasant. All around, it was a great experience for us.
I have stayed at the Best Western in LaGrande, OR for business a number of times over the years. They always do a great job of keeping the facility up to date, and it is a clean well maintained location. It represents the Best Western brand well. The breakfast is always well presented and the options are plentiful. More than just a continental breakfast by all means!
We stayed for one night while visiting family. The hotel is older but was ok...not the greatest but not horrible. The staff seemed nice. The room was cleanish. There are limited options in La Grande so this hotel is probably your best bet.
stay away manager Kelly does not stick to her word we stayed at this hotel on jan 12 2017 on check in I told Kelly we will not need are room for 3 nights just 2 Kelly told us we check out before noon on. so we did jan 14 2017 10:36 am. we get are bill that states early check out by noon with charges for 3 nights. tried calling Kelly left messages to know response. called bestwestern customer care they told me that Kelly told them that we can check out before noon but this does not mine you will not be charged for the night stay. So my question is what does early check out by noon mine !!!!
Easy to get too off the interstate. Lots of chain restaurants to eat close by. Local places to eat are close if you take 21st out the back of the restaurant. Clean room, continental breakfast, and good service.
With limited three star plus hotel chain choices in this rural city. This was the nicest hotel in the area and better then some big city chains I have previously stayed in. Inside appeared to be recently remodeled. Friendly staff. I have found that In the Pacific Northwest the Best Western "Plus" is a solid value.
This is a quiet, clean well located facility. The room was good but not great. TV was non functional upon check in in our room and the desk chair was low quality half cheesy... we were quickly moved to another room with a working TV and accidentally a better desk chair.... The TV operation and cable syste, was not very good. The remote was one of those super clean glossy models and hardly worked.... you had to hold the remote really close to the box to get it to work...defeats the purpose AND the tv channel guide never worked ---nothing on the remote to let it work.... and the desk lady very nicely agreed that the tv systems were not that good Lighting was oddly dispersed in the room and lacking FOR THE MONEY plastic water and paper coffee cups don't cut it - for this money you should get glasses and mugs Pool was very clean They had an excellent soup and crackers dinner hour snack and the break fast was excellent Next time I would look elsewhere, probably pay less and get same quality room
Would definitely stay here again as it was conveniently located. Room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast room was pleasant with a great selection from which to choose. The staff at the front desk were most welcoming and they had a complimentary hot soup and cracker set up from 5 to 7.
I have stayed here at least 10 times in the past 5 years. Never paid more than $121.00. When I go to check in the room rate was $159.00. The check in clerk stated that that rate was based on a "SLIDING SCALE" what ever the heck that is, and did not have the authority to adjust it at all. She stated that her Region manager was responsible for the rates and She could not give me any better rate without his approval. Of course he is no where to be found. It was late and dark so we paid that rate but will never stay there again.
hotel was average. as a disabled patron, it was poor. I was told to park in the rear however to get into the building, there was a hill leading into the building. if you are challenged with a ambulatory disability it would be hard. was not offered help, despite obvious challenge.
Our stay at tis BW Plus property was very nice. We arrived shortly before check-in time, but they soon found us a clean room. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Our roon was very quiet even tho they had a good amount of occupancy. Although we were close to the pool, we did not hear any of the usual noise from children having fun. the breakfast was beter than average for sure. The food was warm, a good variety especially for someone with c elia and not able to eat any wheagt products.
The staff were very helpful, we had tried to find a room in other towns along the way and this hotel too was showing as full but the front desk person spent extra time going through the reservations and found a room. Still asked if we had AAA/Senior rates, etc to help with the room rate. Food was good, pool and hot tub nice. Just all around nice staff.
I like the fact that this motel is near the main exit for LaGrande but is nestled back in the hill so it is quiet and more relaxing. I like that the rooms are comfortable. The breakfast that is provided is pretty typical Best Western fare but it is easy to get full and on your way.
Very clean, friendly and organized. Full breakfast is a bonus! We were late to arrive they found us a suite option in a town that was filled from the rodeo near by. So, we were happy to get a space. Our room was clean and large! Quite location, good breakfast with many options. Felt like a reasonably safe area.
We always look forward to staying at a Best Western Plus. They have always been very clean and updated however this property is not. The room smelled musty. Both beds squeeked, the bathroom fan attached to the light made too much noise we used the heat lamp for light. It was a quiet nights sleep but not the quality for the value we have come to love. Breakfast was wonderful however.
These Best Western Plus hotels aren't much better than regular Best Western's. This one had traffic noise, especially the back parking lot which was right next to our room. Trucks in and out all night. Bed was not comfortable. We kept getting thrown off the internet. I wish all of these hotels would serve a breakfast that was not processed food. I don't know why one can serve made to order omelets and other's served pre-cooked, over salted items. This one had the processed eggs, sausage, etc.. We have used Best Western for years, but are seriously considering changing. The quality seems to be going down and the prices are getting too expensive for our budget. This one was ok. The next night we were at the same hotel in Ogden Utah. It was awful.
My stay was amazing. The staff is phenomenal! They are very accomodating and make you feel comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Such a pleasant area, close to everything you could need and want. The room was very clean and quiet.
Stayed with Corvette Club for two nights at this location. I found the service and quality of service to be very good. Room was clean, and bed was comfortable. Location close to downtown and major freeways.
The La Grande Best Western is one of our most frequently visited as it is in our home town and we attend events there. It is not a huge property as La Grande is not a large city so lobby, pool, etc. are not elaborate but certainly adequate for us. The rooms are large, everything works and the beds are comfortable.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. We even got a phone call from the front desk asking if we needed anything else. The bed was extremely comfortable. The view of the nearby mountains was awesome.
The hotel key cards need to be repaired very hard to get into the rooms when it takes multiple tries to get the locks to open need to check all the tv's for good working order the screens are dark tried to adjust the carpet needs to be replaced the help was very friendly and the common area was very nice and the pool was warm and clean the hot tub was nice and hot.
Got charged for one nights stay because I did not cancel my reservation within the 24 hour ownership policy even though I called in at 1:23 pm on the day of my arrival. They had plenty of time to rent the room out but charged me anyway! Sounds like the staff has no other option....It is Holiday Inn Express for me the rest of my traveling career.. From a 24 year Diamond Rewards Club member...... Thank you BW La Grande for making my choice of hotels that much easier.
Really nice motel with free early evening soup and cookies plus wonderful complimentary breakfast! Lovely pool and spa with rinse off shower. which I've never seen at other motels. Comfy beds, wonderful bathroom accoutrements and very pleasant staff and lounging lobby. Reasonably priced laundry too. Elevator if needed also.
This little place was a hidden gem for me. When I walked in I was immediately greeted with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was very clean as was my room! Very comfortable bed and the hotel was very quiet. The next morning we had good coffee, a nice breakfast and more staff that were friendly and helpful!
A little tough to find, tucked off the main drag, but comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly. The pool and jacuzzi were welcome after a long day's drive. Appropriate for small business meetings, good breakfast room with a bar for happy hour later.
Nice hotel with clean, modern rooms. Costs a little more than the surrounding hotels but looks much nicer and has a delicious breakfast included. Was well worth the cost. My boys had a great time in the pool!
We arrived here mid afternoon and were very pleased with the size of the room. It was clean and the mattress was quite comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Good hot selections. We would stay here again.
This was a very nice place to stay. Clean..Friendly Staff.. Nicely Decorated...Beds very comfy too. Easy excess off of Freeway, Close to a Variety of Restaurants. Local Paper & Brochures of local spots to visit... Warm cookies & ice water when you checked in
Best Western LaGrande is a clean, comfortable and relatively central hotel when conducting business or pleasure activities in LaGrande, Oregon. I will recommend this hotel all friends and family when needing accommodations in this area.
I stay at several BW and this hotel was terrible. The guy at check-in was lousy and be careful as this hotel will greatly increase their rates depending on occupancy. They will not budge on rates nor will they reward you for being a rewards member. I will stay elsewhere from now on because I don't want my money going to a unethical hotel!
I was traveling from Arizona to Washington to visit family last Winter. The Highway was closed due to a bad blizzard. I made the decision to get a room at the Best Western before all the rooms in La Grande were booked. It turned out to be a lovely little town with some nice Victorian homes that are walking distance from the Motel. I found the room to be simple, yet comfortable and quiet. I liked being able to walk to shops and fast food establishments as well. The next morning the roads were open and the skies clear.
This is an older hotel that has had updates. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful even for late arrivals. The rooms are spacious and quiet. It is nice to have s fridge and microwave with a family. The pool is nice to swim in and they had pool noodles the kids could play with. Breakfast is served from 6-9 AM and this didn't work for us. Getting in at midnight that was a bit too early for the kids and 10 would have been helpful. However McDonalds is right across the street. It was easy on and off the freeway. We actually stayed here on the way to Cannon Beach and the way back.
Our first go to chain for hotels is not Best Western, but we might have to change that. This one was great. I don't like heavy blankets and duvets where you are either too hot or too cold. This bed had a light sheet spread and light blanket and a heating/cooling system that was did what it was it was going to. Nice breakfast buffet, including chocolate for the oatmeal. :) No styrofoam which always wins points with me. The pool was a little cool but the hot tub was perfect.
We stayed at this Best Western Location as we were touring the Eastern Oregon Campus. The hotel location was perfect and the staff was accommodating. The room was well appointed the only negative would be the size of the bathroom.
This Best Western was very pleasant to stay at. We took the Suite which was spacious and came with a private whirlpool which was a nice feature. The breakfast area had room for everyone to enjoy their meal. The location is good for the town and the service from the staff, as at all Best Western's, was top-notch. I'm really appreciative to BW for hiring quality people with a genuine knack for customer care.
just passing through so stayed at the BW. I was very happy about how nice and well kept the place is. the room was clean and smelled clean. the breakfast was your usual hotel continental breakfast, but was enough to start the day. the coffee was great, not often do you get really good coffee at a hotel. will stay again.
The room was clean and nice and the staff was helpful. The fitness center was important because it was too hot to run outside so I could stay in the cool to exercise. The pool looked nice but we did not have time to use it. The soup and crackers available from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. made for a good dinner combined with a short walk to a Baskin and Robbins that I think we could see from the parking lot.
I recently traveled to La Grande for a conference and stayed at the Best Western Rama Inn and Suites. The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was amazingly comfortable -- especially the pillows, and breakfast was a pleasant surprise with fresh fruit and herbal tea available in addition to the usual hotel breakfast offerings. If I return to La Grande in the future, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We stayed here for 2 nights last week and found it to be a great place to stay. The room was very nice. Clean and updated. Service at the desk was good. The breakfast was great. From eggs and bacon to oatmeal, waffles, gravy and biscuits, fresh fruit and juice. They have a nice pool and jacuzzi and a nice workout room.
Great property. Nice full breakfast. Hot tub was a nice relaxation at the end of a busy fun day in the area. Staff at front desk but very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel for relaxation or business trip.
Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Soup and crackers each night were a great perk. The occasional fresh baked cookies are great as well. Room and amenities were nice and clean. I'll be sure to come back to BW whenever I come to La Grande!
This is a very nice hotel. Nice clean rooms. Friendly Staff. I actually didn't expect it to be this nice. I travel quite a bit and usually stay at Holiday. The Hilton and or Hampton Inn's. Was as nice or better.
We only stayed here one night but were very pleased with the service and help provided. The room was clean and pleasant. The freeway was close enough to give us a good start in the morning after breakfast.
We stayed in a suite, it was great to have the extra room. The kids loved the pool and jacuzzi. Having breakfast on site was a huge plus. I wish we'd had time for the fitness room, it looked good for a smallish hotel.
Nice looking hotel. Close proximity to the downtown area. Shopping and restaurants close by. Just over a mile walk to the old downtown, with many shops and dinning options. They offer a nice indoor pool and workout facility.
.... But... We were in La Grande recently for a wedding and stayed at the Best Western. The rooms are a little on the shabby side, and things aren't perfectly operational. The fridge goes from warm to freezing, the microwave although looks good, doesn't work, and the toliet overflowed. However, the included breakfast is ok, the location is good, rooms are quiet and motel is locked at night...also....next to many decent fast food and other acceptable restaurants, and most important the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone working there is just trying to earn a decent living, and working hard. They get extra points for just being nice!
Stayed here 2 nights for a business trip to LaGrande. First time in LaGrande and very impressed by the hotel and the people here. Room was clean, bed comfortable, and nice breakfast. Close to everything but LaGrande is pretty small! Right next to the freeway but no highway noise. Didn't have time to use the pool or spa but looked inviting. Will definitely stay here again.
room was in good shape and clean microwave in my room. Wifi worked good there is a small refrigerator and a microwave in my room cable channels were basic the only thing that i didnt like was the parking i had to park down at the end past the building
The staff here is very efficient and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were there for a wedding and had a great time. The location is also al little hard to find. Once I got lost a couple of times I figured out the landmarks to turn at.
We are from the La Grande area originally and come to the city for events including class reunions, memorials for family and friends, Shrine activities planned in the area. If rooms are available, we always stay at the Best Western Rama. Rooms are always clean, beds are comfortable. The employees are polite and accommodating. I had asked to use a late checkout and was told that I could. It came about that I didn't have to. Breakfast this time was very good! Menu items were added from our last stay and were well prepared and offered a wide choice.
This is a nice hotel with the usual amenities and is in good condition. Although it is next to the freeway, it must be well insulated because noise from the freeway is barely noticeable. However, it is not within walking distance of the shops and restaurants downtown. There is a free buffet breakfast in the morning, and lemon water and cookies are available in the evening. The in-room wifi worked well. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave in my room. There was one power outlet on the desk and, strangely, it was controlled by the room entrance light switch. There was also another power outlet under the desk. I wanted to charge my phone at night, but there were no power outlets that I could find next to the bed. As is typical of small hotels, there is only one person at the front desk. This can sometimes result in a bit of a wait to check in.
if you get a room facing mt. emily be sure your free of the outside roof peak that blocks your view.... nice pool and spa to relax away the day's travel... nice breakfast with variety each day and warm cookies in the evening. very friendly staff for check in. room nice and quite roomy. room for all your stuff... if your in the lagrande area this is the place to stay.
I came here with my family so that I could participate in my graduation from EOU. This hotel was worth the money. Room was clean and staff was great and friendly. Breakfast was good, pool was great for my kids. I have no complaints. Thank you very much for making our stay so great. The bed was a typical hotel bed, too hard as usual but that is everywhere you go unless you are paying for a luxury hotel.
Efficient and friendly check in. My request for a couple of extra pillows was answered before check in. Motel looks clean and updated. My room was bright and shiny and comfortable. Shower and other facilities worked well and was well stocked with supplies. The Rama Inn would be a good place to use as a base if visiting locally and is equally well suited for an overnight stop. A restaurant is nearby. I left too early to evaluate the breakfast. Good place to stay.
It was a spacious room, had a blanket instead of duvet (love that), there was a responsive heating and air conditioning unit, a good selection of tv channels, and a tasty breakfast. We've stayed here before and much prefer it to other motels because it's close to a gas station and several restaurants plus a Rite Aid.
The Best Western Plus was an excellent place to stay. Clean, modern, good breakfast and great staff. Very helpful registration clerk , Rebecca, I did have some difficulty finding the Hotel but we got there eventually. Once there, it was great!
This motel was so very comfortable and accommodating during our stay with 2 rambunctious boys. The breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of items to fit the appetite of all of us. The pool and the hot tub were a very welcome amenity!
My husband is very picky about where he stays... (I might even say snobbish), so he is always leery about staying someplace new, but he was pleasantly surprised with his stay here. The rooms were very clean, the beds were great, the breakfast had a nice selection, and the staff was very helful. We have nothing but good things to say about our experience here.
This was a great place to stay. The staff was friendly, the room clean, comfortable beds and a good shower head. I asked for a wake up call and delivered as promised. There were cookies on the check in counter as well as hot soup that evening in the breakfast area. A better than average breakfast was provided. Plenty of bacon, eggs, cereals, yogurt and baked items as well as fruit juices and coffee. Spent a hour in the exercise room in the morning. Great place with modern machines. Very nice! This place was the nicest place we stayed at all week and was well worth the few extra $ still a great value! Quiet, affordable, clean, great beds...yes I will be back! Thank you!
I am a business traveler and stay in hotels 4 nights a week. I have stayed in this hotel several times before. On this stay my room was not clean. There was urine splatter on my toilet, the new wrapped bar of soap was placed in the soap dish on top of previous persons soap debris, the night stands had food and beverage debris, the bathroom counters has soap debris, the tub/shower had a very large and noticeable brown ring. Upon check out the front desk gal was very unfriendly.
This was our first time at this La Grande BW Plus hotel and we found it a very nice place to stay. Parking was very near the room. The hotel is clean and quiet and the breakfast is great with wonderful fresh coffee. This hotel is on smaller side which is the way I like it and there is a shopping area near by. Great place to stop in traveling on highway 93 down to Nevada from the Seattle area.
Nice place with a god breakfast and pleasant staff, but significantly over priced for the location. This is rural Oregon, not a downtown end destination. It would literally pay to do some comparative shopping before dropping anchor.
This hotel was horrible. Had no actual onsite parking due to construction. Had to park in the street next to a no parking sign, in an extremely dirty, unkept neighborhood. After feeling uneasy about the initial parking fiasco, the hotel had a gross, stale smell to it and just appeared dirty and unkept. While walking through the hallway to our way overpriced room, we noticed multiple people who appeared to be permanently living on the premises (not what you would expect for a 200 dollar hotel room) as well as a door that appeared to have been kicked in. Upon opening the door to our room, the stale smell became even worse and we found a bright yellow stain in both tubs in our room. The windowsills were covered in dirt and the tv barely functioned. After all of this, and feeling on edge about the entire situation, we wandered downstairs to grab some coffee. To no surprise, no coffee was made and there was no cream or sugar offered (we stayed in four different best westerns this week while traveling and every other location had coffee etc). Nothing about this trip was enjoyable. The walls in the bathroom appeared to be smoke stained and the wall paper was peeling. The shower head was not even secured to the wall and continued to run out of hot water. We could by sleep whatsoever due to the nasty grimey feeling that this hotel gave us. Nothing about the stay was enjoyable and we will never be back. We will be sure to write a public review regarding this stay as well. Do not stay here.
We booked this Best Western based on our travel itinerary and we arrived at about 6:30pm. We'd requested a downstairs room and that was provided, no problem. Beds were comfortable as were the sheets and pillows, plenty of towels, excellent water pressure. In short, no surprizes. Breakfast ok, pleasant breakfast room.
Had an enjoyable stay at this friendly, quiet, clean hotel! Thoughtful staff, and very tasty, included, breakfast. Absolutely would stay here again! Comfy beds with extra pillows, and good coffee ( Keurig ) in the room.
While probably the nicest hotel in La Grande, it is over priced and reminds me of a repainted Super 8, the Gym is nice, rooms are standard for the time. Just lack of options in area give them the bump, I would stay in Pendelton or other if you can.
This is a very nice hotel. The staff is wonderful. The rooms, lobby, hallway, indoor pool, and breakfast room are all very pleasant and well maintained. Very comfortable beds. The indoor pool and hot tub are very nice - chairs, tables, towels. Very good free Wifi. I only have one negative comment...The breakfast was not great. It was adaquate and it ended at 9:00 sharp every morning - even weekends. Request a second floor room or ground floor away from the parking lot. Can be a bit noisy.
Very nice upscale room with fridge, microwave, keurig, etc. Pillows were hard, but other than that, it was a lovely stay. Complimentary Breakfast buffet had a good selection of food, and was very nicely presented. Definitely the best buffet I have seen at a three star hotel.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. We arrived early in the day before usual checkin. The staff took my cell phone number and called as soon as our room was ready. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was standard Best Western plus with assorted breads, waffles, cereal, milk and juice. This was a good choice for La Grande.
We had to make a quick trip to La Grande to assist a dear relative so we made last minute reservations and up upon arrival the desk clerk was extremely helpful in getting us set up in the room we requested and went out of her way to make certain we understood all the amenities available. Breakfast was well presented and attended by friendly staff who constantly cleaned and refreshed breakfast choices. Our plans changed in mid stay so we had to make different arrangements and the desk staff answered all of our questions and got us on our way promptly.
The personnel at the hotel were helpful. The breakfast offered was very nice and a great start to the day. The rooms were clean and tastefully done. The only problem is that the beds are horribly uncomfortable. We thought we might be crippled for life.
I stayed one night at this motel and it was very nice. The staff at the front desk were very polite and checking in was very quick. The room was very clean and it seemed almost new. All of the furniture was comfortable, especially the bed. The pillows were very nice too. I wasn't too fond of the shower, as the shower head wasn't comfortable.
For a BW motel I felt that this one was lacking a warm feeling in the lobby, layout in the motel was boring. Rooms were clean, and it was really quiet especially considering it is so close to Highway 84! Its a good place to stay but I wouldn't want to do an extended stay.
Very nice stay. We have stayed here before many years ago and found the property and rooms to be much improved. All of our interactions with the hotel personnel were fine. All were polite, conscientious and professional in their respective efforts.
There aren't many places to chose from in La Grande, Oregon, when you need a place to sleep for the night. (most people that stay here know someone or pass right on by) However, don't let the slightly higher price of this property, compared to a few others in town, deter you. It is worth the extra cost. The hotel is clean, the amenities are great and the staff is some of the best you will ever meet! We stayed here in April, of 2016, and were greeted with a smile, given a room that met all of the requirements we asked for, (upper floor, quiet, king bed and away from elevators), and were even told that we were given a room on the opposite side of the freeway as well. Nice, and thank you! Our room had high end toiletries, working air and heat, (which is not always the case at some places), a Keurig, small refrigerator and comfortable bedding. The breakfast staff was hopping and kept everything clean and stocked. The food was fresh and the temperatures of everything was perfect. (eggs, oatmeal and bacon nice and warm and milk, yogurt, and fruit fresh and cold) We did not use the fitness center or the pool, but both looked good. And just let me reiterate the staff! These are some of the nicest and most helpful people you will meet! Enjoy your stay!
We have stayed at this hotel twice. Both time the rooms have been extremely clean, very comfortable beds and lots of pillows! The bathrooms are very clean. Staff is always friendly, helpful and eager to please. The free, warm breakfast has plenty of options.
This is the nicest place to stay in La Grande. I have stayed here quite a few times and it has been pretty decent. My latest trip through the area we were traveling with a dog. Most Best Westerns are pet friendly, but this one isn't. Had to stay elsewhere. Thought I would give other travelers a heads up because I didn't see this info on their webpage.
Room was on main floor. Water running in walls from upstairs was very loud in addition to freeway traffic noise. Door lock was broken. Checkout acknowledged that was a safety issue... but offered nothing for our concerns during stay.
I stayed here 2 nights this week while in La Grande for work, and I found the hotel to be very nice. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff I encountered throughout my stay were very friendly, and the price paid was very reasonable. Breakfast was good, but could have done with providing more fruit. Overall, I'd stay here again if back in the area.
I really wanted to like this inn. With all the high ratings and having stayed in Plus Inns before, I thought this would be a good choice. Unfortunately, there were too many shortcomings to give it a higher rating. The best part of our stay was the front desk staff. They were exceptional and very welcoming. So what were the shortcomings? A dirty hand towel and washcloth from the previous customer were missed on the side of the bathtub; the TV wasn't working right (picture was very dim and without contrast); the bathtub drain was partially plugged and water backed up during showers; we would have liked to be able to control the room temperature so it wasn't so warm and to keep the fan on for white noise to block out noise from the adjacent room. Everything else was fine. The breakfast had a lot of choices. The scrambled eggs were especially good. I would have liked a waffle iron that allowed making a full-size waffle instead of pancakes and mini-waffles, though. So, I hope my review will lead to improvements, especially since this is a Plus Inn. The pleasant atmosphere created by the friendly front desk staff gives me hope that our experience will be the exception.
When you are in La Grande, this is a fine place to stay. Our room was clean and the toiletries were very nice. Breakfast was pretty basic and could use some healthier items. I would come back. I am not a fan of the Best Western smaller square pillows, even though they are down!
We stayed in the suite and were impressed with the room. Would definitely book again, although we wish it was about $30 cheaper, it is in La Grande after all. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, even Greek yogurt. Nice property, with nice staff and amenities.
We got a suite with a jacuzzi tub, and when the jets turned on bugs, mold, and other debris shot out of them. GROSS! Other than the poor quality of the tub, the rooms were nice. The breakfast was really good, but just make sure that you wake up early enough to get it!
This hotel property has been fully remodeled since the last time I was here and all I have to say is WOW! Everything is perfect considering there isn't much choice for modern hotels in this area. I used to hate staying for business in this area but now I can feel more at ease staying at this location. I stay at lots of hotels for work that I have become very hotel savvy so without hesitation I would definitely recommend this location to anyone traveling in this area.
The overall stay at the hotel was very average. The cleaning services only occurred half of the time during my stay and the sheets were not changed for the entire seven nights I was there. The breakfast is pretty much what you get at any hotel offering complementary breakfast with your room. No express check out is offered when you check in. If you needed express check out you needed to request it. I had a room with two queen beds and only used one as I found it to be very comfortable.
Ideally named hotel in La Grande as it is the best hotel to stay in the area by far. The staff are really warm and friendly, the rooms are nicely decorated and kept very clean. There is no noise from the trains like at other establishments, quite, friendly, comfortable and clean hotel - not much more you can ask for and you certainly can't get all this at any other hotel in La Grande.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful here, sure made it feel like home away from home. The fitness room was nice with treadmills and individual TVs. Comfy bed, good internet. Breakfast was so-so but the attendant was very nice and checked in to make sure you found what you wanted.
just barely acceptable. After a +five hour drive the bed was too hard and as an older person vending for ice and soft drinks were only available on a different floor. No safety handrails in shower-nearly slipped getting out.
Can not go wrong if you stay here and make sure you golf and union 10 min away, spectacular. bed is super comfy, food stops within walking once you arrive, brkfast and right on hiway location are great too. Alway look for bestwestern first, and often book at lunch in one for my next stop in the late afternoon or evening.
Friendly staff, clean and updated rooms. The usual hotel breakfast - nice but not fancy - yogurt and toppings, waffles, omelets oatmeal, cereal, muffins and toast. The workout room and pool were clean.
new and nice, carpet, tile, wall coverings, mirrors, tv, cabinets .room looked clean and plush. enjoyed 2 luggage holders . plenty of drawers and closet space. enjoyed the new 1/3 clear shower curtains to let more light into shower. my only complaint was i could not find the sleep setting on remote. i did not ask staff to find it for me. breakfast was ok but thought it could have offered maybe a few more items, like biscuits and gravy. staff did seem to want you out of the breakfast area pretty quick. New beds and linens were just perfect with ample room for tall folks. lounge chair and ottoman was a nice touch. enjoyed being able to find lots of empty outlets for electronics as well as the plug in available on the lamp at the computer desk. loved the choice of channels with lots of hbo channels and liked the fact i could swing the tv around to either the bed view or chair view or computer desk view. loved the new carpet in the hallways and the installation of an elevator for 2nd floor luggage lift. elevator was 5 times the size i expected in a small hotel. did not use the pool or rec room but would have if i had stayed a little longer. felt my car was safe in well lit parking lot and lvoed the automatic sliding doors at the entry. so much easier than fighting a door with your luggage. i would tell anyone going to lagrande that this hotel is the best one in town, and certainly tho hidden from the road is indeed a "hidden gem". i do think the web site might give folks a better hint on how to find it. wish it had a closer place to eat then just wendys or mcdonalds but both offer at least a meal anytime of day.
Definitely worth the money, convenient location (although it is a little weird to get to), but easy access to restaurants and freeway. We have stayed here twice and felt we got our money's worth both times. Nice Breakfast, friendly staff, clean and good sized rooms.
Good service. Clean hotel. No complaints at all. The hotel clerk was very friendly and helped us check in late in the evening. Clean pool and hot tub. I will stay here again when next in the area. LaGrande is a nice small community with an old time Western atmosphere.
we have found that the best western plus is a good brand to count on. the rama inn & suites is great. we found the staff to be helpful and professional. the breakfast was good but typical. we found the 20 year old building had been refreshed last year. everything still looked new. The only thing that cant be fixed in the older motels is the bathroom still has the door that takes all the extra space in the bathroom when it is open.
Overcharged!! Than the manager emailed saying I had agreed to the room at booking!! Yes at booking I agreed to an $89 room. Rude at check in. People outside smoking everywhere. Awful, awful experience!!! Way to many hotels near by to risk your money on this place!!!
Stayed here one night while on a week long biking trip. It was sold out and I'm so glad I made my reservations a month earlier! Hotel is located in a cul-de-sac and the front rooms do face the the freeway a bit so request a quiet room in the back on the 2nd floor. They definitely stick to the 4:00pm check in time when they have been sold out the evening before. Otherwise, a 3:00pm check-in might have been possible. Lobby area is small, but has 2 areas to sit in. High bar stool with long tables or chairs and a couch arranged in a circular area. When I did get to check in, it was fairly quick, less than 10 minutes. Easy to get to the 2nd floor either by elevator or large, wide staircase so no issues carrying bikes up the stairs. I found the room spacious, clean and updated with modern decor. Work desk in the corner, microwave and frig hidden in a cabinet near the front door. A single cup coffee maker and ice bucket on top of the cabinet. Bathroom counter space was large, clean as was the shower/tub combo. The room was large enough where we could put 2 bikes against the wall and still have room to walk around. Beds were comfortable and felt like they were new or had some sort of feather bed on them. Pillows were fluffy and there definitely was a clean sheet smell to the bedding. We left the window open about half an inch to cool the room down and it was better than leaving the AC on. We didn't hear much noise from the freeway or any of the trains. There is nothing in the back of the hotel, but a field so that could have helped keep any noise down. Wifi worked pretty well, some times during the night it was slow and it could have been because many people where trying to log on. They offer a variety of stuff for breakfast - scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cereals, yogurts, fruit, coffee, juices, pastries, muffins and toast. You can even make your own fresh waffles! I would stay here again as it's only 1.2 miles away from the main downtown. There are a few places to walk to Rite Aid, Wendy's, Mc Donald's, Chinese Buffet, Pizza place, liquor store, etc. All about 5-15 minute easy walk. Overall, I liked this property, the rooms didn't feel old at all. We even had a nice little note from Kevin in housekeeping to enjoy our stay! The other 2 hotels near this one looked old and run down a bit so I'm happy I went with Best Western PLUS Rama Inn & Suites!
The hotel was adequate for our stay, but I expected more for the room rate charged. I appreciate that the attendant looked up my Best Western membership number. I did not care for the breakfast. The deadbolt lock in the room did not work. The common restrooms on the first floor were very stuffy and hot. We arrived earlier than scheduled, but there was no flexibility offered for early check. We we told to return after 3:00 p.m. So we made a reservation and returned after 3:00 p.m., and a different attendant had trouble finding our reservation because the prior one had misspelled my name.
We went to Oregon to visit family and to attend the Pendleton RoundUp. Pendleton had no acceptable rooms left during the RoundUp Celebration, so we drove one hour East to La Grande and found the Best Western Plus Rama Inn & Suites. What a great move! The hotel was first class, reasonable in price, and was not only very lovely in appearance but so very comfortable. The room, linens, bed, etc was top quality but the staff was welcoming and helpful as well! Wish all our hotels could equal Best Western Plus Rama!
