"Beautiful weekend "

You are always a little worried booking a hotel in a city you haven't been to. But, we chose to go with Best Western as we have stayed with this chain numerous times. From the moment we checked in, we were happy to find we made the right decision. Friendly staff, from guest counter to cleaning staff, everyone made us feel appreciated. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms and bathroom were clean. We will definitely use this hotel if we are in the area again!

Good motel. Clean and quiet! Good breakfast! We called about a compassion rate as my friend was in St Mary's Hospital for heart surgery and they treated us very fairly! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

If you need internet for business use I would highly suggest avoiding the hotel based strictly on this. Only stayed 2 nights, but cell phone never was able to connect to wifi, 1 laptop I had would sporadically connect(yet disconnected at non ideal times), there are 2 computers in what is called the business centre(neither of these worked to connect to the internet. When brought up to the front desk staff, they said there is nothing that could be done. The hotel itself is clean, bed comfortable, basic breakfast, the small fitness room and hot tub was nice. I am giving a poor rating based on the internet, and the staff' attitude of too bad-that sucks for you.

Average priced hotel ,full breakfast, good complimentary supper 0Monday Tuesday & Wednesday stays only. Pleasant staff taking care of every minute problems.We would go back again if we come to stay in Waterloo.

Stayed for several days here, nice quiet hotel, rooms were very clean. Breakfast was a hot meal with plenty of other things to choose from. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. Plenty of shopping and food centers around.

I used to like this place since it had a hot tub and dry sauna. Dry sauna in hotels are disappearing so i was looking forward to this. They still have it but it shutdown. I will have to look for another hotel now. Good service as usual. The best thing is this hotel is right across the street from the Bent Elbow Bar.

The only issue that I had was that my key card got deactivated when I tried to use it at the back door for the back parking lot. I walked around to the front of the hotel where in the lobby the receptionist promptly fixed it and apologized. I had no other issues and it was a perfect stay.

Nice clean, convenient hotel right off the highway. Near places to eat and drink, within walking distance. Breakfast was good and plenty of choices. Staff was new but very friendly. Would stay here again.

Had to plunge my own toilet. Had a lot of noise in the hallways. Did not get the room I had requested in person over the phone. The towel rack was loose and nearly fell on me. Most of the front desk staff were rude. The kitchen staff making breakfast were great.

Nice people and a reasonable budget hotel in a good location. Nice that they have a car charger...but sometimes ICE are parked there. Nothing more to add to this review. Not sure why they demand 200 characters.

Booked a room with two beds plus sofa bed. While it was a bit tight in this awkward shaped room, it worked well for what we needed. Used credit card reward points to book but price was quite reasonable. Check in was easy with friendly staff. Lots of parking available. Nicely decorated but not overly fancy. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. Many restaurants in walking distance. On a busy road but was not bothered by traffic noise. Breakfast was great. Lots of choices of hot a cold drinks and food. Eggs, sausages yogurt mini French toast, cereals, etc. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Very clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Dinner and breakfast were served and both of great quality. Wifi worked well and room was very efficient. Only complaint was the mattress wasn't very comfortable.

"The Best Value for the Money EVER!"

I had a meeting at Wilfred Laurier University with my daughter and of course the whole family had to go. After researching many hotels, I found this one had the best reviews and prices. So good, in fact that we booked two rooms for less than we paid for one room the last time we came down this way. Not only was breakfast included but we didn't have to pay extra for an additional guest. We were allowed a late check out for one of the rooms at not extra charge as well, and there were hot items at the breakfast buffet. FYI the kids were raving about the home fries. Overall it was a great experience and we would whole heartedly recommend this hotel!

"Quite quiet and really comfortabe"

If there were a ten point score I would give this a nine. I try to avoid giving "5" out willy-nilly because that undermines the value of my comments. The hotel was near where I had a job interview. Although it was quite near to the major highway up from the 401 it was really quiet. There was not even much street noise, either. The breakfast was excellent and buffet so one could have as little or as much as they wanted. I would stay here again, without question.

"Would Come Again"

Met all our needs very well. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was included, had variety and was hot and fresh. It is on a road that is easily accessible to the rest of the city. We needed a place to rest between two busy days.

When own a trip, Im a firm believer in not splurging on the hotel and spending the money on the trip and fun but this was a great location, facility and price. Ive now stayed a few times and theres a few places that are my go to bookings, this is one of them.

"Critters!"

Need I say more? Here's the lowdown. The hotel is easy to access with free parking. Our room was basic but had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The room definitely had some wear and tear and could use some updates. Also, not very soundproof. We were next to the elevator and heard every operation of it. Now, the worst part. At about 4am I was woken by the sound of scurrying. Rodent scurrying is unmistakable. The room didn't have carpet so the sound was amplified. After a while, I determined that it might not be in the room, but within the walls. Needless to say, I didn't get back to sleep. Best Western awarded me some loyalty points as Customer Service over the phone couldn't prove what was in the room. I understand that. Just be warned if you are thinking about booking—-Room 112 has pets.

"Not a Bad Place to Stay, But Horrible Service"

This location was 5 minutes away from my competition, so it seemed like the perfect hotel to stay at. The room was a bit tiny, the TV and it's selection of channels was nice, and the rooms cleanliness was superb. However, the service was TERRIBLE! I arrived at the hotel at 245pm (check in is 3pm). The representative at the desk was extremely kind, friendly, and apologetic after finding out that my room would not be ready until 330pm. I had no issue with this at all, as the representative was sincere. Eventually I was a able to check in and received my room. The next day was checkout. I did not have anywhere to be until 12pm (checkout is at 11am). I kindly asked the staff to extend the checkout time until 12pm. This request in my mind was a no brainer, as they were 30 minutes late assigning myself my room upon check in. I was denied. I asked to speak with the manager, who also denied the request. I then asked for the checkout to be extended only 30 minutes, the same amount of time I was delayed during check-in. That was also rudely declined. The representatives were extremely rude and almost hostile towards myself. As a 23 year old who does a lot of travelling, and have stayed at many many many best westerns, I was disappointed in my treatment. Maybe it was because of my age? I was even more frustrated when I found out that multiple rooms got an extended checkout at 12pm, meanwhile I was delayed at check-in and was not granted even a 30 minute checkout grace period. Overall, there were many plusses at this hotel, however the rude customer service is a total turn off for me. Never again will I stay here. I expect a lot more out of a hotel chain that is as big and credible as Best Western!

"Friendly Hotel Staff"

Stayed here while in the Kitchener area for a hockey tournament. The hotel staff made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. The front desk employees were professional and helpful, the ladies looking after the breakfast area were great, rooms were cleaned prefect everyday. This hotel is good value and great customer service.

The beds were comfortable, however the hotel is in serious need of updating. We had a room with two king size beds, that was great. Unfortunately the room was facing the highway and with the door/window having zero installation it sounded like the vehicles were driving in the room. Breakfast was basic but acceptable.

"Terrible experience"

We stated at this location in Kitchener, what can I say other than Never again, we booked a room with 2 doubles as I told them I am with wife and 2 kids need 2 beds, they booked king only, once we told them the mistake they realized they made a mistake and accidentally gave the room to someone else, that being said, no more rooms available with 2 beds, so we tried to make the best of it, kids slept on the floor . It was January, the heater broke, it was freezing in the room , we had to call 5 times for maintenance person to come fix it, no one showed up, it gets worse, they promised us a discounted rate when they gave us the room, once we signed out, they said we never said that and charged full price. Never again the WORST ever experience with so many unprofessional people, starting at the top from the Manager who was laughing as we were explaining it all.

"Great hotel ..."

My Husband and I are on a two week business trip. Every time we visit Kitchener, we stay at the Best Western, King Street. This visit is for 5 nights. Unfortunately this time of year, heralds hockey teams staying at this venue. Parents and coaches accompany the children, however the hotel becomes extremely noisy and dirty. Friday night was crazy. The noise outside our door, and above our heads was unacceptable. The running, jumping and loud laughter after 10:00pm was totally unfair. We work very hard and long hours, so didn't need this situation. A hotel is a public venue, and the Parents are solely to blame for their children's unruly behavior. Kudos go out to the two breakfast ladies, Amy & Amanda, who smiled their way through the mess and comments by these teams. The breakfast is always amazing at this Best Western, but with the teams, you barely want to touch anything. I still managed to have my vanilla coffee though! Our room cleaner was Carey, who couldn't do more for us. She was so lovely and nice about everything. She too made it clear how unruly the teams can be. In fact, she mentioned that a carpet in one of the rooms was cut up by these children. Not nice .... Last, but by no means least, a huge shout out goes to Melissa, who is the assistant manager. She is a warm, lovely and hard working person. She knows exactly what is happening at this hotel, and is totally hands on. Recommended .....

We stayed in this motel over the Christmas holidays. The motel room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is conveniently close to the Fairview mall, theatre and grocery stores. Would recommend this motel.

"Comfortable and Convenient"

We stayed overnight at the Best Western Kitchener on our way to the airport to fly back home after the Christmas holidays. It is close to the airport, which was key for our early morning departure. The bed was extra comfy and the service was great. The couch in the room was a little dated but overall we were very happy with the comfort of our room. We could not take advantage of the breakfast, but only because of our schedule. We would certainly stay here again.

We went to Kitchener for a curling event and needed a nice and comfortable hotel for the boys. We found it at the Best Western. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff from check-in to the cleaning ladies to check-out were very friendly and helpful . The hot and cold breakfast was very good. Over all I would come back and also recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kitchener

Always enjoy this clean and comfortable hotel.The staff has always been helpful and the breakfast is well appointed. It is easy to get around Kitchener from here. It is also just down the road from the Fork and Cork Grill which is a wonderful place to eat.

"Can be much cleaner"

The sitting area next to the front entrance is dirty and can say not vacuumed. There were things under the chairs and sofa for days. Our room was not vacuumed well as there were crumbs under the bed skirt and the bathroom floor was never washed down...you could tell with what was on the floor. We actually had to ask at 3:30in the afternoon when our room would be cleaned...and the hotel was not that busy, and people checking in could go to their rooms......not great! Watch out for weekends for the hockey teams come in! We will say the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. You are close to the highway, eating areas, and Fairview Mall. We are dedicated visitors to Best Western hotels and this one is the poorest we have been in. Will find another next time.

"Weekend Journey"

The hotel is located across the street f4rom a well known very good steak house. A major mall is close by. Walkable if necessary. However this is a major road area. For the proximity to major roads, the hotel was very quiet. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we have had for hot or cold items.

For the price you pay these rooms are more than adequate. The Wi-Fi was excellent. The breakfast could have been better but you get what you pay for. The staff at check-in and check-out were very polite. They were able to accommodate my late check-out request.

Clean room, super comfortable king bed, helpful staff and a very good breakfast. Staff was knowledgeable about local restaurants and local attractions. You can't go wrong for this hotel for quality and service.

"Good curling weekend."

We were in Cambridge for a U18 Curling event. It was a last minute addition so we had to look around for hotels. We stayed at a different place the first night and we wanted to get out of there. We new that BW is usually a good choice. The beds were comfortable, Wifi worked well, and breakfast was a good start to the day. The room was very clean and spacious for all our things.

Room was clean. Hotel check in was easy and pleasant. Staff were friendly. Room and bathroom are a bit out dated. Breakfast was okay. Egg's were under cooked. Perhaps offering more hot options for vegetarians.

"Good Sleep"

Came because I was staying in the area for work, judging from the most recent reviews construction hadn't yet begun in that part of town. Construction was everywhere in the area when I was working a contract there. When I went, I slept great, breakfast was ok and the rooms were decent, but nothing special. It worked out great for me because the other half could visit me a few nights a week because its closer to Brampton for her. So I got no complaints about it, just a standard Best Western, if you have been to one before, this one is no different.

"Worst experience in years"

This is the worst hotel experience we haver ever had. During our roundtrip we liked to stay in Kitchener for 2 nights and booked 2 nights to build in some rest in our trip. When we arrived we got room 138 which had an angle in the room and therefore it was very small. We went to the frontdesk and asked for another room. There were 3 persons who weren't that eager to find another room because it was busy. We got room 118, and that appeared to be the worst situated room in the hotel. Right in the middle of a crossingpoint to other rooms and in front of ice machines and vending machines. We couldn't rest because it was very noisy with people shouting and the continuous sound of the ice and vendingmachines. It sounded like it all took place in our room. On the back on the parking lot there were a couple of men playing a kind of beergame with beer in their hands and also shouting etc. I complained at the desk and asked again for another room. There weren't any free so they said. Ok so we wanted to checkout right that moment and asked for a refund, at least for the next night. That wasn't possible because there wasn't a manager until the next morning. So we checked out very agitated and booked another hotel(Crown Plaza-very good by the way) the same night. So we didn't spent any night there. An hour later I sent an email to Best Western with our experience but they didn't reply. After several mails through booking.com they stated that we should have waited until the next day to talk to the manager and that we didn't check-out(???). And if we should have done that we would have had a refund for both nights...yeah right! So we lost 350 dollars but gained a worse experience. Not really a Best Western.

"Noise from construction"

There was road construction going on 20 feet away from the hotel room. Constant beeping and vibrations powerful enough to shake the bed. From the time we arrived (11pm) until the early morning. Even after construction ended the highway itself is noisy so I don't think this would be a quiet place to stay at the best of times. Nothing was mentioned prior to booking and no ear plugs were offered. Couldn't figure out how to turn the TV on. Otherwise the beds and service was decent. Overpriced for where it is.

"In need of TLC"

This hotel is a disgrace to the Best Western Brand. The lobby area was dirty, the bathroom grout was covered in mildew. Have stayed in a lot of Best Western Hotels this one gets an "F" most of the issues can be corrected with some TLC and a good maintenance program.

"Pleasant hotel but some way from town"

Stayed here for one night during a tour of eastern Canada. It is some way out of the town and you need a car to get to any amenities but the hotel has most things you need for an overnight stay. The rooms are pleasant and the wifi is really good. There is also a hot tub and a very small gym room which we had to ourselves. Breakfast is included but the hot food was overcooked when we were there - I'd advise sticking to continental breakfast.

We travel to Kitchener every 6 months and always stay at this hotel. It is comfortable, the staff are friendly and the breakfast has enough variety for a great start to the day. Bonnie's potatoes are a must have.

"one night per week stay"

good spot, not many issues. Would have liked a bar to just sit and enjoy an alcoholic beverage after a long day of business. I should have taken the time to experience the light dinner and breakfast included and supplied by the hotel but I was in too much of a hurry. It was difficult to find a parking spot when I came back from shopping and eating at 7:45 pm.

During a recent business trip I stayed at the Best Western on King St East in Kitchener Ontario for (3) nights. I have stayed in a good number of Best Western Hotels over the years and have always had good luck with their service . "No Recognition of Elite Membership"

A disappointing stay. Front desk was not friendly, did not offer membership perks, did not acknowledge Elite Membership Room was average, carpet was wet and bathroom exhaust was noisy. Breakfast was okay for the hotel. The person in charge of the breakfast area was the only friendly person I encountered.

"Very Nice Indeed"

We were visiting relatives in the area so chose this hotel. We had been here a few times before so knew what to expect, which is why we returned. The rooms are not high end but are very comfy and the price is really good. It was the long weekend so we experienced a room across from us that was pretty noisy with talking and some yelling in the middle of the night. Some people have no manners. Also, the breakfast room was so full that the eggs, bacon etc were constantly empty and in fact we waited about an hour and never did get any homefries, however the kitchen staff were doing their best. Overall, I would recommend and enjoyed my stay.

Aside from the beds being a little firmer than we prefer, everything was great with our stay. I do prefer Best Western Hotels. Great stay for romantic or family. No swimming pool but they do have a hot tub and work out room. They also have accessible to your car from main floor rooms. Nice place to stay.

"Vacation"

Stayed 2 nights while vacationing near St Jacobs and hiking Elora Gorge. Very good inclusive breakfast with hot and cold options. Bonus light supper on Mon, Tues and Wed evenings. Clean rooms, fridge and microwave, in room coffee maker. The hallway was cluttered with several staff and their carts each morning on our way to breakfast. Not sure if we were ill timed or if there was training happening, but moving those carts out of the way as quickly as possible would be beneficial.

3 adult girlfriends going to Kitchener area for 2 days. We stayed in a king room with a pull out single couch. Everything in the room was tidy and very clean! Extra blanket was brought 5 minutes after requesting it. Hotel was easy to find and centrally located. Close to quite a few restaurant choices. Our breakfast was included and offered eggs, bacon, oatmeal, french toast, fruit, yogurt, assorted breads and juices.

Everything was perfect. Staff was efficient, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and stocked appropriately. Complimentary hot breakfast was excellent to start each morning. We attended for Moparfest weekend, and greatly appreciated the extra patrols through the parking lot keeping watch over our classic cars! "This is a Motel, Do not stay here!"

We stayed in this place for a summer music camp which took place at Wilfred Laurier University. If I say that this is a cheap motel I have not exaggerated. When we arrived I thought we were in the wrong place. The room was dirty (the sink and microwave were the most terrible). The couch was so first and worn out that we put a blanket on it to sit. There was hair in the bedsheets....the breakfast was terrible, with scrambled egg being not edible and worst quality of bread....Worst of all, when I checked out, I realized that the price of the room we had agreed upon was honoured only for one night. Upon inquiring I was told that their prices fluctuates...but even when you averaged out the prices, it was 20 dollars more expensive per night than what I was told....long story short, you will probably experience the same quality of service in the neighbouring motel....

"Good breakfast."

I have stayed at this location a number of times. The breakfast includes some good choices such as granola, whole wheat bread, oranges, edible scrambled eggs, albeit from powder. However, the eggs are not overly salty and the bacon is perfect. Tea and coffee are available any time. I found the room to be pleasant and just fine for our purposes. The bed was very comfortable. My partner found the air conditioner to be overly loud and he had a rather unrestful sleep on one of the nights. I, on the other hand, found it to be fine. I slept well. Overall, it was a very good experience and I will definitely be staying there again.

"Excellent hotel"

Friendly staff and a great location if attending venues in Kitchener, Waterloo. Clean and comfortable rooms. Fast check out in the morning and close to all the amenities the town has to offer. Some road noise if you are a light sleeper on the highway side of the hotel.

"Terrible hotel"

There were ants in the bathroom and on the desk. The sink did not drain. There were crushed ants or food on the sheet and I had to go to laundry at 11:30 at night and change my own sheets. There was cheerios and smarties that had not been vacuumed, they agreed to clean the room. The next day ants in my bed, had to change my bed again. When checking out refused to adjust bill. When I got ahold of manager Melissa Henkel she told me we shouldn't have had food in the room but there was a microwave and fridge. Seriously, who doesn't eat in a hotel room. We hung our bags on the closet to avoid ants. Melissa lied to corporate and said I caused the ants. When I took my 4 month old nephew out of his car seat there was a crushed ant on the back of his head so obviously the ants got in there when it was sitting on the floor. Old disgusting hotel with terrible staff.

"Never staying here again"

They have hired irresponsible employees to take bookings at this hotel. My family and I booked this hotel for 5 people. There were no double rooms available with a sofa bed so we were assured that a cot would be provided for our 5th person to sleep on. After traveling for around 20 hours on multiple planes and arriving around 10pm (5am in the country we came from) we were told that it's not possible to get a cot for us, as the hotel doesn't even own any. The nice woman at the front desk tried to find us another hotel, but none were in our price range or near enough for us to drive without falling asleep at the wheel. One member of our family ended up sleeping on the floor. We were not given a discount for this inconvenience, but we will definitely be pursuing one. Book here at your own risk.

"Moody front desk"

My husband and I along with our three kids stopped here on August 3rd around 10:30pm. One of the reasons why we stopped here was because they have ground floor access (patio doors). This makes things easier for us as we can easily bring in our sleeping kids and all of our things are near by in the van. My husband asked for ground floor, which we got, except it was located in front of a big garden area so we could not park in front of our room door. This did not work for us so I asked my husband to go back to front desk to ask to switch somewhere where we can access our patio door. We didn't think this would be a problem as the parking lot was pretty empty and there were many accessible patio doors. Well the front desk lady told my husband there was nothing else available and there was nothing she could do. I was not impressed with that and went back in myself to see what's up. She told me the same thing at first and then I told her there was NO WAY there was nothing else as the parking lot is pretty empty and I explained to her the reason we needed access to a patio door. She then told me she only had rooms on the highway side and that she thought it would be too loud for us and that she could not guarantee that someone is not Parked in front of the patio door. She also "explained" kind of rudely that we had to go in by the side door to get in to our room and we can't use our key on the patio door. Lady, we know that (not the first time we do this). Anyway, she finally gave us a different room as I wasn't leaving until she did anyway. The room she gave us did have an accessible patio door and it had about 5 parking spots right next to us. I find it so insulting when you, as a customer/client as for something to make your stay more enjoyable and easier for our family and we get treated poorly and without even a smile. It would have been Much easier for her to just say: not a problem, let me see what I can do for you. Instead of an immediate shutdown. In addition to all this, we noticed pretty big cobwebs in the corners of the room. Obviously not well cleaned.We didn't bother to complain as we knew we wouldn't get anywhere with the lady in the front. We won't stay there again.

Our team stayed here for almost a week and the staff were awesome, breakfast was good and they were helpful by letting us use the breakfast area for a team meeting/lunch. Our Alberta team won the Canadian Championship and having a good hotel 5 min from Activa sportsplex played a part.

The rooms are comfortable and very quiet (which is nice considering where you are located). However the cleaning staff can be noisy early in the day, access to get out of the parking lot can be interesting, and the breakfast quality can be suspect.

"good hotel but the rooms are very small"

The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful. The rooms are small, but as an older hotel that's just the way it is. The breakfast while typical of a best western was above average. It was hot and the staff made sure there was enough available I would stay here again.

"Disappointed....."

When attempting to book a 2 queen room with no availability, I took the king with a pullout. Believing it would be the same as all other pullout sofas I have had in many other hotels. But NO.... it is a twin pullout. When booking that type of room, staff should advise the customer that it can NOT sleep 2 children. When I spoke to front desk staff about this (3 different staff), they basically shrugged their shoulders. Front desk should have more than one person working on weekends when hotel is at capacity. Often when going to the front desk, there was no one there for minutes at a time.

We stayed overnight for 100.00. They gave us a free breakfast buffet which tasted good. They were efficient. The hotel was clean and the staff seeemed to go out of their way to make us happy. Check in and out was fast.right off the 401 exit.

"A Pleasant Stay"

We stayed one night as we were visiting St. Jacobs the next day. By the way, it's not that close to St. Jacobs but this is the property we were awarded. The staff was very friendly and consistently helpful. We asked for a different bed configuration upon check in and were promptly moved. Our first room had been refurbished while the second had not been. Not a huge deal but a noticeable difference. We returned to the desk one more time to gain access to the hot tub and were quickly accommodated. A nice surprise was the complimentary light dinner offered at this property. The 2 crock pot choices were just enough to tide us over after a day of travel. In the morning, we enjoyed the usual breakfast offerings before departing. Overall, I would stay here again for a night.

The hotel was nice with wall decor. We had a short night, but a really good sleep on the comfortable beds. Our television didn't work, but we didn't have much time for it anyway. The room was a little crowded with 2 queen sized beds, but that didn't matter.

"Exceptional Customer Service"

I believe it was the manager who checked us in. We were treated very, VERY well. She advised us that it may be a noisy night as there was a 3 day concert locally and many of the guests were young people. After trying to find us another local hotel which may be more suitable (my husband had just had brain cancer a month and a half before), we decided to stay put. The evening was quiet, the room was very nice and she accommodated us with a military discount. We were ecstatic. Thank you, Best Western.

"watch your Bill"

Twice now I've been to this hotel and had a discrepancy with the bill. This time it was a $31 charge that shouldn't have been on the bill. They quickly removed the charge but couldn't explain why it was there. If this has happened twice in two visits a year apart it makes me wonder how legit the mistake is and if they are just hoping people don't question it. I called corporate and they seemed very disinterested. Their resolution was that I'm to watch my credit card bill and if they didn't take the charge off I'm to call back. Other then that the hotel is clean and reasonable. No pool so don't expect the kids to be excited with the hotel. Breakfast was below expectations, one side of the toaster was broken so there was quite a line up for it. The food in the steamers was cold.

"Great service, but needs an upgrade"

I've often posted on Trip Advisor that I've never had a bad experience at a Best Western, but this stay had some disappointments. The room's decor was old and tired. The furniture was chipped and rickety. The bed was swaybacked. But I was impressed with the quietness of the room, especially considering that it was locate right next to the freeway. The heating / air conditioning system was also very quiet, as it has been with every Best Western I've stayed in. The room was kept very clean. I gave it the barefoot test, and the soles of my feet didn't get at all dirty. The staff was excellent, and the free breakfast was delicious and plentiful. This hotel has the unique and charming custom of providing a free light supper on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights at 6:00PM. But it is not a buffet, and it's on a first come, first served basis. If you get there at 6:10, you're gonna go hungry! We saw crews renovating the rooms, and due to the friendly, courteous and hard working staff, we'd stay there again, but not until the renovations are complete.

"An older hotel that still gets the job done"

We stayed here for six nights for an event that was going on in the area, booking two rooms, one for our daughter and one for my husband and myself. The rooms are a bit tight when they contain two beds (our daughter's room) but a bit more spacious when in a king bedroom. Part of the room congestion is due to the fact there is no closet but a wardrobe that is multi function. Besides hanging clothes storage it also contains the ironing board and luggage rack (both of which we had to remove to use the interior space). The other side of the wardrobe contains a small fridge, microwave and coffee machine. There is a separate dresser with drawers. The bathrooms are tight but manageable. Breakfast was minimal. An 'oatmeal bar' should contain cooked oatmeal, not instant with a choice of raisins, sugar and sundae toppings. That was a real disappointment to this oatmeal lover. The only coffee in the dining area is Nescafe which I can't stand. Fortunately, the in-room coffee is better and there is a Tim Horton's just down the road. They do use AC power so it's easy for those from the States to charge their electronics. I especially liked the bedside lamps with outlets in the bases for easy charging. The help was friendly and the rooms were very clean.

First time staying at this hotel we live the Best Western chain as there is great value good Breakdast options comfortable beds nice clean rooms. I like main floor with sliding door makes easy to unpack rather than going through the whole hotel only downfall there is no pool but they do have a whirlpool which we enjoyed We would def stay here again

Taking a flight from the Waterloo Regional airport in Breslau and stayed the night prior to leaving. Reasonably priced, clean and quiet. Staff were exceptionably friendly and helpful. Complementary breakfast was satisfactory (juice, coffee, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, eggs, ham, fruit salad - weekdays 6-9:30, weekends 7-10). Was able to leave car for 3 weeks free of charge AND free drop off at the airport (less than 10 mins away)!! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Weather was awful but nothing they could do. I was appreciative they had Almond milk on hand for morning coffee. Free shuttle service to/fromWaterloo airport was an added incentive as to why I booked with Best Western over others.

I don't think I've been impressed ever by any hotel breakfast. Could've been more options. Other than that I was happy with the comfort. Had fridge,microwave, iron etc. Decor is a bit old. I'd probably go back as I get 10% off anyways

"Maids DON'T steal."

I like being on the ground floor. I like being able to make a tea in their kitchen with their hot water 24/7. I like that they serve fruit for breakfast. I like that they have a washer and dryer. Andrea at the front desk is a little snobby, but the maids are super.

"Good value in a simple, clean place to stay"

This place caters to passers-through of the business and tourist variety. It's not fancy, but it is easy to find from the highway and close to shops and restaurants, well-maintained and everything works. There is a decent gym, business center, a good included breakfast including scrambled eggs and sausages, and there was even a simple free evening meal option the day we were there. If you are passing through town and just want a comfortable night's stay this fills the bill perfectly.

The staff were super nice and I was excited that breakfast was included. The only concerned I had was why was my bedroom window open during a snowstorm (it was dark and curtains were closed so I did not see if for several hours) and it smelled like pot all night long. We booked this Best Western Plus because it was recommended by the St Mary's hospital website as ifferubg a compassionate rate for those with family staying in hospital. The rate was good, staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel could use some updating and the bathroom was very small. However, it served the purpose.

I stayed overnight at this property for 2 nights while on a conference. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside was bright, clean and spacious. Front desk service was impeccable - Melissa was there to greet me when I rolled in Friday evening, and throughout my stay. She was so pleasant, offered me a toothbrush when I forgot mine (and came up to deliver one to my room for me!), and was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, a very large selection, and was stocked well, with cheerful morning staff. The room was clean, bathroom spotless, and checkout efficient. I would absolutely stay here again. Check in is at 3pm and we arrived at 5. The girls at the counter were waiting for us with smiles and friendly greetings. I told them the name on the reservation and they immediately found our rooms and within 5 minutes had the key cards ready to go and we were checked in. I have stayed at this Motel before and wasn't disappointed that time either. That particular time we had 2 double beds. This visit, we had a King size bed. The room was small but well laid out and very clean. Everything we needed was in the room. There is a microwave, mini fridge, free wifi, shampoo, body lotions, and numerous other toiletries, mini coffee maker with enough coffee and tea for 2 people. The bed and linens were soooo comfortable. I could have laid in bed all day. Morning breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs with onions mixed in, brown beans, waffles, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, 3 kinds of juice, too many pastries to list, cereal, etc, We left full!! There is a hot tub, sauna (wish i knew, i would have brought my suit) workout room, business room with 2 computers and a printer. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again. This will be the first place I book if I ever go to Kitchener and need a room. Thumbs up. My only complaint was that my partner is a smoker and we never thought to ask for a main floor room but that was my fault (blame the non smoker for that one)

"Very strict rules hotel"

Not a good choice for a hockey team tournament hotel. Our team booked the party room well in advance on the 1st floor and all of a sudden at 9:30pm the front desk staff started telling us we would have to leave the party area at 11:00pm. Everyone was having a nice time chatting and socializing and not being loud or disruptive. However to comply with their demand and rules, by 11:00pm? we cleaned up the party room and we went upstairs by our rooms. We were talking in the halls between our rooms and the hotel security guards kept coming up and at first just glared at us as they walked by and later told us we were too loud. If we had stayed downstairs in the lobby there would have been no issues. Also 11:00pm does seem excessively early to kick a team out of a pre-booked party room on a Fri evening when it was far away from the guest rooms. This didn't make for a conducive atmosphere for anyone plus the attitude and demands by the staff made us feel very unwanted as guests. Other issues we encountered: The put non-hockey guests between the rooms for our hockey team. The rooms were not very clean. • In one case the carpets were not vacuumed and dirty. • In another case they had to change their own sheets because they found the beds in the room dirty and there were no housekeeping staff on site.

"Great hotel, friendly helpful staff"

Just checked out...checked in 2 hours early. Room was on the 2nd floor and facing the highway. Did not hear any traffic noise at all. Room was clean and well kept. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a little hitch when we checked in...totally my fault, but they worked with me and it was settled in no time. Free breakfast was good. Coffee and tea was available 24/7. I have no complaints. I just would have liked a pool tho. Would stay again with no second thoughts.

We were very pleased with our stay. When I asked for a ground floor room because of mobility issues, they upgraded our room. The room was nice, except the cover on the decorative pillow on the bed needs to be washed. The complimentary breakfast is very good, good selection. It would be nice if it was open to at least 10 on weekdays instead of 9. Some of us (seniors) are there for pleasure, not business and like to sleep in and not rush in the mornings. The only issue we had was the noisy young girls (soccer team I believe) running up and down the hall on our first evening. And the parents who woke us up discussing their drinking habits outside our door after midnight. They did move on when my husband asked them to take their discussion to their rooms. Will really have to try to remember to ask the desk if there are any sports teams staying and ask for a room as far away as possible as this has happened to us numerous times in different motels. Other than that our stay was pleasant and the location was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful.

"Great choice"

We were in Kitchener one night for a concert at Centre in the Square. The hotel was a ten minute ride to the venue and there are a few restaurants within walking distance. We stayed one night and found the hotel and room were clean. The front staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was better than average with hot breakfast items included. We would recommend this as a good place to stay.

"Wanted to leave"

This hotel is old and in need of a makeover. I think it was formerly a Journey's End motel which was pretty low end. The lobby was ok but the front desk staff were very bland and seemed disinterested in our group which was a hockey team. We had at least 18 rooms reserved. Upon entering our room, the smell of smoke was apparent. This was evident in all of the rooms that I visited. The bathrooms were tiny and the bedroom area was very small. Too small for hockey gear and personal items. I was on the side of the building that was next to the highway off ramp. I heard traffic noise all night Friday night and a little less on Saturday night. The sliding door was so thin that it let a lot of noise and cold air in. My bed and pillows were quite comfortable but many others in the group complained that the mattresses and pillows were awful. There was another team in the hotel who were eventually evicted due to some interactions with the young security guard who has a bad attitude and no people skills. He made it his mission to make both groups miserable. We found out that 30 families were told to leave on Saturday morning. These people were all family oriented people who were peaceful and just looking to enjoy some down time between games. Their activities were nothing new to hockey tournament families. This hotel should never host teams because they don't want to accommodate their needs such as using the breakfast room for food that has been brought in and for having people socialize in the hallways. I could go on and on but would rather recommend that you avoid this hotel if you are a team or large group and only stay there if you want a cheap overnight when you are away from home. I can't begin to tell you how disappointing this hotel was and basically it ruined the whole tournament for my family and the majority of the families from our team. I don't think they realize how much tournaments mean to the economy in K-W. I guess they didn't mind losing out on the 30 hotel rooms they could have sold for the Saturday night. Bad, bad,bad.

I stayed only the one night with my family but the hotel and room were clean. The front staff was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was better than average with hot breakfast items included. I would recommend this as a good place to stay.

PRO'S - good breakfast for a hotel - friendly staff - surprisingly quiet - close to highway, shopping and restaurants - parking right outside our door - Fridge / Micro in room CON'S - moldy bathroom!!!! "HOCKEY"

I was coming for my daughters hockey tournament, and staying for two nights..It started off that as I entered I could smell a musty odour. I was greeted with a smile and with great mannerism. I asked if I could check in a bit early, but my room was not ready yet. I asked if I may have a look around and if I may see the room that our hockey team will gather in. The hotel clerk pointed and said it is our breakfast room right off the lobby. It seemed fine for a team to mingle in and to bond as hockey parents. I left the hotel as my daughter had a game. After the game at around 9 PM I did check in and had great service. I entered my suite and checked it all out. ( checked out the bed for any critters and if my sheets were changed. Yes it was clean and satisfactory. ) I went to see if the team Manager was checked in. She was in her suite checking it out. She had DIRTY stained sheets. She called front desk and asked for clean sheets. I helped her change and make up two beds. We proceeded to our team room.The parents brought food and drinks. We had to share this room with another hockey team. At around 9:30 PM the security guard informed us that we could only stay until 11PM. As this room is the breakfast room and needs to be prepared for morning breakfast. This is when we were all informed that we could not have any alcohol in this room. If we want to go back to a room ( suite )at 11:00 Pm we could drink then. So we did. We had the door open, as there were many people. Some one reported us, and the security came to tell us we were too loud and there were a complaint against us. Also to close the door. We were bonding as parents. Some of us thought to cancel our last day and if there will be a cancellation fee. I proceeded downstairs and was shocked to see two police officers, two security and the team manager trying to settle this confutation. Again someone complained and front desk called the police. The problem was we were told we would have a room to eat and drink together. Nobody said no alcohol and that we needed to leave by 11AM. The front desk put a guest in-between two hockey teams. They should not have done this. The team manager wanted the hotel manager to cancel all of our bookings for the last night and if there would be a cancellation fee. The hotel manager in front of the two officers and the security guards said to fee to cancel....BUT I am kicking them all out for 11AM. The team manager wanted the hotel manager to give us proof that there would be no cancellation fee....AND the hotel manager did not give us proof , she had a worker at the front desk give proof.We all left before 11AM and even the rest of all the hockey teams and all the guests left. We drove and we all got a room at another hotel with our own party room. We drove by and that evening there were no cars in the parking lot. DO NOT STAY THERE.

"NUTS! Kids hockey team"

Everything went great until a large group of parents showed up on the 2nd floor and took over the entire hall way with a bunch of yelling kids with hockey sticks and pucks. The noise was hellish. The hotel is large enough that they could have placed this group far enough from the rest of us and addressed the noise issues.

"Good Stay"

I enjoyed my stay at the BW+ It wasn't in a picturesque location but it was convenient for the highway and was perfectly good for a 3 day business trip to Waterloo and Guelph. The room was of a good size but room 116 had a desk that over consumed the space, it was huge, whereas some other rooms had smaller desks that were of a more proportionate size. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and bathroom was fine. The room had a coffee maker but no kettle, kettles are much better for making tea so the coffee maker which was a bit scaummy in the water resevoir was a disappointing for me, nevertheless coffee and tea making facilities were on tap 24hrs in the public area of the hotel so that was well used by me. The room had several sockets, very important for all the traveller gadgets but like almost all Canadian hotels it didn't cater for international travellers who have to use adaptors to plug in devices. Most sockets are integrated in the lamp stands so for the one at the desk I had to tip it back and prop it in this way so that I could plug in my plug adaptor. A simple socket on the wall near the desk would make it much easier. I have to applaud the hotel for having overhead lighting in the room, so much easier to work in (the majority of hotels only have free standing lamps and uplighters). Also as this was not a luxury hotel I was pleasantly surprised by the well 'stocked' exercise suite which conained several training machines. It also included a spa and sauna and a couple of business computers. I also thought this hotel provided a good breakfast buffet although the yoghurt fridge was not immediately obvious and only spotted in the last day. The hotel has a couple of vending machines selling cold soft drinks, chocolate and crisps. There are a few small restaurants and poorly stocked convenience stores nearby not gret) so a vending machine or shelf with some microwaveable food options to buy for your evening meal would be helpful particularly as the room includes a fridge with freezer shelf and a microwave option. Would I stay agin? If I returned on a business trip, yes I would but I would visit a good supermarket before hand so I could buy some snack foods for the evening. The hotel did have a simple complimentary meal on the Wednesday evening, this was unexpected and appreciated but not vegitarian friendly. Staff were great, pleasant and helpful.

Check ins a breeze;courteous too. My room was narrow and the wifi seemed like it couldn't handle the guests demand, couldn't even stream a movie without it pausing., fridges are tall fit a fair bit in, soap washed good smelt great too.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, all the amenities you need were in our rooms, the beds were very comfortable. Hot breakfast was great with a good variety for everyone to choose from. Close to restaurants , and a short drive to great shopping in the area. My stay was quite lovely in the jacuzzi suite. Very comfy beds and nice cozy room set up with mirrors around the jacuzzi to make it seem more roomy. The breakfast was average but the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Nice hot tub and work out area, small but good for one or two people at a time. Great price.

Great beds, clean, quiet rooms and excellent room service. Front end staff was great, close to a lot of great restaurants and a very short drive from shopping. Close to the conference centers I needed to be at. A bit hard to find as the drive way sort of sneaks up on you - the hotel is in a bit of a low spot, so the driveway is hard to spot.

"Just Ok"

We only booked at this hotel because we had a wedding in town and the bride and groom blocked off rooms for their guest. When I called back in June to book my room I requested an early check in as I knew I wanted to get ready for the wedding at the hotel and not have to drive down in my attire. When we arrived at 2:00pm we were told our room was not ready yet and they didn't know when it would be ready but they were doing their best to get it ready. Another couple that we can down with, their room wasn't ready as well, never requested an early check in and was told their room would be ready in about 15 minutes. We all sat in the lobby waiting for our rooms to be ready. We waited for about 40 minutes before they told the other couple their room was ready to go. We went to their room to start getting ready. My husband at 3:00pm (which is check in time) went back to the front desk to check in we again were told our room wasn't ready, so my husband said "then I guess I'm entitled to a free night, as check in time is 3:00pm, it's 3:00pm and my room is not ready." The one lady that we were dealing with couldn't answer his question, but the other attendant looked in the system and said, oh here is a room they can have and gave us a room just down the hall from where our original room was. Never have I, in all my travels ever experienced such poor customer services then we did that day.

"Not so great"

Requested early check in. Room not ready an hour early. That's ok. Can't guarantee it. Wait in lobby for almost an hour. New people walk up to reception. Receptionist says "You're room is ready. I'm just going to check these people in first". Whatever. Ask to use a bathroom while waiting. There's one down the hall. Gross! It's got someone's excrement smeared on the toilet and sink. I tell the person outside the bathroom who is mopping. She says "That's ok. It's fine". Go back to reception and check in. But wait! My travelling companion's room isn't ready yet! It's now regular check in time. 20 more minutes for her room. General fail.

Rooms are clean, furniture is outdated. The free breakfast features a variety of cereal, eggs, French toast. Hotel features several dining options across the street and around the corner . Hotel staff is friendly and there is a free airport shuttle that picks you up at the Waterloo airport.

So I stayed here last night for one night...upon checking in asked if I could have a later check out ....a half hour later...no was the answer and also specifically asked if I was in a room with traffic noise...."you should be ok"..ya...no...traffic noise disturbed my sleep all night....and yay I have a 12 hour day ahead of me. We were in Kitchener for Moparfest - biggest all Mopar car show in Canada!!! Every year we stay at this Best Western hotel. Everything was perfect. Hotel was clean, everything was in good repair. The hotel even brought in Security personnel for the weekend to watch over our show cars as we slept. All staff was very accommodating and tended to all our needs. The experience was absolutely flawless. It's why we come back year after year!

Stayed here for one night on our way to St Jacobs after seeing a play in Stratford. Used airmiles,and was greeted by a delightful young lady on the desk. Our double room was well cared for,the beds were extremely comfortable,and the Melitta coffee in our room was much appreciated. The breakfast was very good,and above average,with so many choices,and as I am diabetic ,the vegetable scrambled eggs ,ham and baked beans with BROWN toast started my day off very well.The usual fruit yogourt,cereals and waffles were also offered.Would recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

"A Very Average Budget Hotel"

Kitchener is not exactly a mecca of great hotel options. This hotel is average at best. The hotel is dated both inside and outside. The location is close to the hwy but the area is not inviting of tourists. There is a hot breakfast, basic but sufficient. This may be one of the better options in Kitchener but 1 night is more than enough.

"Great place to stay"

We stayed one night Saturday, to visit a friend for his birthday. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and all of the employees are helpful. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was ok. I ate a bagel and had coffee and juice. The trip was enjoyable.

"Great service"

I was impressed with service, cleanliness, appearance, quality of breakfast and cost of staying for a night was reasonable. I also used the fitness room which had good working equipment, was very clean and had wipes for cleaning the machines.

This is the first time we have had the opportunity to stay at this BW property. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The rooms are clean and we really enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast. If in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

"Pretty good "

The breakfest was good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My only problem was when i arrived to my room there were a pair of used boxing under the bed skirt. Called the front desk and they quickly took care and discounted our bill for the inconvenience other than that the room was spotless.

we pick this hotel as it had a good rate and we never had any problems with any best western hotel we have stayed in.It very close to st Jacob and the malls conveince to get too from either hwy 7/8 or the 401 Breakfast was good and hot and fast you never had to wait for anything that was empty .and it was nice to be able to park outside your room .Maid in the morning was friendly the only noise problems was the main road outside

"Amazing Service"

We stayed at this location with all the guests for our wedding. I cannot say enough great things about the service we experienced. The wedding party were all hanging out in the hot tub area and drinking (which signs specifically say not too) and being quite loud. It was well after 1130 when someone from the front desk asked very politely to just try and not yell too loud. They understand we're here for a wedding and hope we have a great time. She we came to the hotel with my wedding dress the cleaning staff came to clean the room when we got there to ensure no one entered the room to mess up my dress. She also said she would mention to everyone on staff for the rest of the weekend to take special care when in that room. The morning of the wedding they came to make sure we had everything we needed to get ready. They even brought a more comfy chair from front desk to sit in when getting our makeup done. Can't thank you enough for your amazing service!

In town for business and this hotel was right off the highway. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff at check in and check out. Reasonable priced and breakfast included. Would definitely stay here again if in Kitchener.

"Love this Hotel SOOOO Much!"

Very Clean Hotel. Love the Hot tub and Gym. I have stayed here many times and love it. They have some slow cooker meals available for guests most evenings that are outstanding! The rooms are lovely and up to date with comfy mattresses and linens

"Cycle race"

"Motel turned Best Western Plus"

Money has definitely been spent on the front desk area and then everywhere else is 'patch & fill'. From the poorly repaired holes in the bathroom where the hairdryer used to be...the view of the air conditioning units dominating the only window view...to the shower tile repair that leaves you wondering...how in the world is this 'Plus'??

"Good Hotel in Kitchener"

This hotel is easely accessible and is near the 401. It is very clean. We always appreciate the little fridge for cold drinks. The breakfast is generous and very well maintained. For the other meals, there are lots of restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Internet works very well. the personel is nice and competent.

It was in close proximity to our destination and the staff service was excellent. The continental breakfast was very well done and included hot dishes as well as a variety of regular servings. The value was well worth the expense and I would look forward to staying here in the future.

"Wedding"

I have contacted the hotel via email and I'm not surprised that I haven't received a reply yet... We all came back from a beautiful wedding and we weren't even in the building 10 minutes and the bride and groom got a knock on the door...why? A few of our guests went in there for a nightcap, security followed. (Apparently that's against the law at some Best Western plus.) I get it...your doing your job...but you took it to far. It's not because he called the police that upsets me, it's because he did it in spite, there was no fire code violation, there was no noise, he was simply pissed off that my son talked back to him after the security guard came off very aggressive and rude so of course, I would have too. I believe he was embarrassed and called the police to make his point. Nice one. And yes the police did knock on their door to find the bride and groom alone. Previous comment from the hotel : The security company has to follow protocol in certain situations that they encounter and we have ensured that they have done so. Really protocol? You were in the wrong, just admit it. Very disappointed. Like I said above, I get it but this went to far.

"Manager blames guest for complaints"

Travelled to Kitchener for a family wedding. A total of 22 rooms were purchased. From the first night we were told there were pilots sleeping in the hotel and we needed to be quiet. This is a large family from all over that get together for these wonderful events. We were in our rooms having laughs and conversation only. No whooping in up, we are generally an older crowd and no children running up and down the hallways. Just the chatter of people gathering in our rooms. The second night when we returned to the hotel from the wedding their security called the Police for fire code infractions, one of the wives left the latch open to her room for her husband and noise. Three cruiser of the cities finest arrived to to find all the parties were in fact in bed slllllleeeeeepppppinnnng. The officers met some of our party outside having their last cigarette before bed and proceeded to the Bride and Grooms room to see what all the commotion was - Guess what they were in bed. So over the top. I have stayed in many hotels were groups have gone to their rooms n were some what noisy and have called security to tell folks to quiet down but to call the Police - really. Contacted the owner Menish Kapal who at this point has not called back but he did call another of my group and said it was all our fault and that we should just own up to it, like all the other wedding parties have in the past. There is just something that doesn't add up here. Supposedly the Pilots were lodged near the wedding party group - really how stupid is that. Then to blame the guests who tried to manage this quietly with the management. Well when you get told to own up to something that was to over the top you just need to let other travelers know. Who needs this kind of downer after celebrating a wedding. You have been warned

"Normal Best Western Plus Stay"

Passing through Kitchener to stay before our day trip to St. Jacobs. Check in was simple. We enjoyed our king room. Clean, fresh and tidy. First floor rooms have walk-out to parking lot which is handy to access the vehicle and stuff in it. Free breakfast is hot with eggs, toast, ham ,muffins, waffles, fruit etc...point is, it was decent and not the usual dry continental breakfast. Coffee was good, available 24/7 and had fancy flavored cream :) Front desk friendly and available to answer questions. Easy hwy access.

We stay at this hotel each time (every 6 months) when we are travelling for business. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is a great start to the day. The rooms are large enough and the beds are very comfortable. Highly recommended.

"Volleyball tournament"

Hotel was booked for volleyball tournament. We had around 10 rooms. My vehicle was broke into and robbed for my GPS perscription sunglasses and change. I notified the manager who informed me that this has happened a lot in the past but they have hired security to prevent this. All I saw was security inside the building. They offered no compensation at all for my loss. I wish they let us know prior to this that they have regular theft.

We stayed here one night with our team recently and I was very happy with service. The rooms are spacious and clean. Front desk staff is extremely helpful and friendly. "Poor Plus"

Avoid parking level rooms (Room 118 is horrible). High traffic, loud and dirty rooms. Although I would assume that all BW compliance's have been met, it is a very poor plus. Stay if you have no other alternative, but do not expect much. If visiting the area for shopping or St. Jacobs Market, find alternative hotel. Staff were uninterested. Would not go back.

"Fine room , but..."

We walked in and got our room right away. It was a nice king room with great stuffed chairs for both of us. We saw what looked like a sports team down the near hall and thought "'We're glad they are in another hall." Then out for late supper and returned to hotel to enjoy our room for the night. Shortly thereafter party moved into our adjoining room. Finally at midnight we called the desk. 30 minutes later it was still going on so we called again. It did get better but not actually quiet until after 1AM! So our nice room was kinda ruined by the neighbours. When we checked out the person on duty asked about our room and we commented on the noise. She gave us 20 dollars off our bill. Nice gesture. But hope next time noise rules are actually followed.

Staff very friendly and courteous. Room was very clean but a little small. It served the purpose of a one night stay. FREE breakfast was very hot and tasty. Quiet halls and rooms. Parking outside your room is on the ground floor.

This was at least the 20th time I stayed at this hotel and never have been disappointed. Great location, service... The hot tub and sauna is the best ever in any hotel I stayed at since they actually keep these hot. Nice change to all the hotels that have warm hot tubs... Good location, area has a lot of great bars and restaurants.

"Clean good location to mall"

Was there with a team... beds were comfortable, quiet (well the night we were there) and close to the mall and restaurants. Been here twice.. would go back. Usually hotels like this have hockey teams etc... and kids running down corridor - there were teams but well behaved.

"Comfotable room but no PLUS"

While the bed was comfortable, the tv was fuzzy and all the channels didn't work, the smoke detector was being "almost" held up by masking tape. Breakfast was hot, the waffles were good but the rest of the hot food was not. Overall it was a decentplace, but definitely not what I would put in the plus category.

"Three night stay in November"

My wife and I were in Kitchener for three nights visiting family and friends and I attended a mens' conference at a local church. The hotel was very clean throughout and there was a junior hockey team staying at the hotel for two nights. The rooms were cozy and fairly sound proof as we didn't here the boys that were staying on the same floor as us. The only complaint I have with the hotel is the small breakfast area and the quality of the food. The staff were all very nice and helpful.

I stayed a whole week and it was the first stay at this hotel after 6 stays in hotels of better category. However, I'd always come back to this one because of 1) friendly, helpful, kind, great staff 2) great value for money No complaints at all, just big "thank you"... they even accommodated my request for a quiet room, which seems to be kind of impossible next to a highway Thank you! "Dated but impeccably clean."

A good value and we were perfectly comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Within walking distance to several restaurants and we recommend the Fork and Cork-you won't be disappointed. Breakfast was the standard Best Western.

"Satisfactory"

We arrived after 6:00 pm. The staff were very welcoming, and the room was very comfortable. The location was very good because we were able to walk to pick up some food to bring back to our room for supper. Fairway Shopping Mall is very close by, which was also good for us.

"Wedding stay was perfect"

My daughter and son in law had their out of town guests , themselves , their wedding party stay here. The staff did everything to ensure things were perfect. On the day of the wedding we needed a higher chair for the makeup artist , when we called the front to inquire about the chair she said she'd look. 2 mins later she brought us her own front desk chair ! What service !!!! You won't be disappointed with your stay here with a great staff helping you !

We stayed during Oktoberfest 2015 and enjoy our stay. Hotel and staff were very helpful. Room was very clean. Room décor was very nice and crisp. Breakfast in the morning was also a nice surprise. Fresh Waffles with tasty coffee.

"Clean hotel, centrally located, parking may be sparse at night."

PROS:decent price; clean rooms- we had a 2 queen bed room and had fairly plump pillows; breakfast includes meats (sausages, etc..), decent coffee, close to nearby fast food restaurants and groceries, clean living room- we took some family pics before the wedding. CONS: tight rooms - minimal width in front of the beds; there were open spots in the ceiling of the hallway (no covers); only 1 elevator - if your room is at the ends you may have to walk a bit. They don't convert their fees into U.S. Dollars- you are better off exchanging your US dollars into Canadian dollars - you get more for your money. There are some smokers at the shelter by the parking lot- I saw some employees smoking during what must be their break time. Very thin walls or floors- we could hear the guests in the room below us very clearly until early in the morning.

"Decent hotel...would return"

Decent hotel for the cost. Front desk staff and maids were all very friendly. They do not have a pool but they have a decent hot tub (nothing special) and a few work out machines. We were in RM 135 that had a king bed. The room was clean however the bathroom did smell like smoke as if they previous people smoked in there. The patio door had a broken handle so anytime we tried to close or open the door the handle would fall off but we got used to where to hold the handle to avoid this. We were there for Oktoberfest on the Fri night and the hotel had some tour Oktoberfest books that became helpful. Hotel was close by to the mall and main hwy points....good location especially since we were going to Bingemans for Oktoberfest. I would return back as the hotel was decent for the money we spent. Nothing fancy but provided a clean safe place to sleep. What more can you really ask for. The breakfast was free however the coffee was horrible and breakfast could have been better. But you can't please everyone.

"Decent hotel"

I stayed here for one night during a visit with family. The hotel was reasonable and the staff was helpful. There are many rooms next to the freeway and initially I was placed in one of these. Luckily they were able to place me in a room away from the freeway. Room was OK. Some issues with TV reception but overall, not a bad place.

"Great location and budget priced!"

This comfortable hotel is in a convenient location to access great shopping, good restaurants and highways to other destinations. We checked in during the height of Oktoberfest celebrations, many of which were already underway in the parking lot, so we knew that our expectations of a quiet night's sleep might be compromised... and it was, until 4am. However, that has nothing to do with this hotel's amenities. It has more to do with other travelers' rudeness and lack of respect for others in the same building. The room was spacious and had all comforts one might expect. King bed, fridge microwave, comfortable chair and ottoman and sliding door access to parking. The little light that stays on inside the door reflects in the full length mirror directly across from it during the night and illuminates the room and especially the head of the bed. Not great for deep sleep if you prefer a dark room. A night light in the bathroom might suffice. The order of the switches just inside the bathroom door should be reversed. The first switch turns on a noisy fan and the second turns on the light which, due to lack of a night light, can lead to an abrupt, adrenaline induced awakening in the middle of the night. We programmed into our GPS the address for the LCBO that was indicated in the in room hotel binder. After driving in circles, we discovered that it was no longer in existence. Luckily we found some locals who pointed us in the right direction to an obviously brand new store in a group of big box stores . So, some updating to the binder might be a good idea. The free breakfast was terrific! The best breakfast of any hotels in which we have stayed so far on this trip. All in all, a very good budget priced experience!

"Pleasant Stay"

We booked this hotel for a night to attend Oktoberfest. The front desk staff we lovely and welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean and had a microwave and bar fridge. I liked that they provided four bath towels. Location is convenient. Lots of choices for meals. Nice hot tub on site. Fairway Shopping Centre is five minutes away. Breakfast was included and was surprisingly good for a hotel breakfast. We would stay there again.

"Best Western in Kitchener - Great Hotel"

This hotel looks like it was recently renovated. Our room was exceptionally clean. Although it was a bit cramped with the 2 queen beds and a dining table, it was still very comfortable. The hotel is situated near to shopping and tourist attractions. Easy to get to from the highway and easy to get to where you need to go. I will most definitely stay there again and again

"family outing"

our last visit to a best western was at Christmas in Niagara. 2013. extremely enjoyable stay but I was disappointed that there was no "Christmas" dinner on the menu and also I had to pay to park in the hotel car park. In Kitchener ont. the best western had free parking for guests!!!

"Excellent Location"

Came to Kitchener/Waterloo to view university campuses. Hotel is situated on bus routes that visit most of Kitchener/Waterloo including the universities. Shopping and restaurants are easily accessible too. Great hotel, great location.

"Not horrible after a few hiccups "

I had a few hiccups while checking in at First the room had a king bed when I requested a double, back to the front desk and they assisted kindly, The second room I entered was clean but someone's belongings were in the room, after the third try the room wasn't fully cleaned as there was a pair of sweats behind the curtain and a pillow case with stains laughing it off because what else can you do?! I saw a housekeeper in the hall and she assisted right away. All in all the room was clean and comfy and breakfast an added plus.
