I always enjoy staying at the knightshill hotel, very friendly staff, good quality food and service, the rooms were very clean. the fitness centre is also very good and is part of the stay. the scenery is very nice around the area and it is a short distance from the town

Thank you for taking time to publish a review following your recent stay at Knights Hill Hotel and Spa. We are delighted to hear that you enjoy staying at the hotel. We look forward to welcoming you again
Only reason not a 5 score is lack of effective cooling in the rooms. The rooms are spacious, comfortable ( apart from when hot) and very clean. All the staff are extremely welcoming and the leisure facilities are good and not too busy

Fancied going away bank holiday weekend so this was a last minute booking.Plenty pf parking spaces lady on reception very pleasant.Once in the room there were only two towels phone call more arrived. The room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. The meal in the evening was nice especially the cheeseboard which was a change to either have a choice of three four or five cheeses that included Cornish Yarg.Breakfast was plentiful "could have done without kids running around though cant blame the hotel for that".The spa we only used the pool again kids dive bombing! For £165 i would stay again.

Hotel is in a good location to explore parts of Norfolk. Rooms where nice and clean and a good size. The hotel is all a bit dated and in my opinion needs modernisation but some people may like it. The pub attached to the hotel is very nice drinks are reasonable prices but the food was a bit of a disappointment cold and tough.this is my second trip here and would stay again.

Dear Dave Thank you for taking time to review your stay. I have passed on your feedback with regards to the decor and the food in the in Farmers Arms to the General Manager. We hope to see you again the next time you are in Norfolk.
Generally very good but would like to have had fish on the breakfast menue. Also, not keen on breakfast buffet. Food tends to dry out under the heat lamps. Swimming pool and changing rooms very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us and for the "5" you gave it. We take on board your comments regarding the breakfast buffet and appreciate that this is not always to everyone's taste. As you kindly mention that you would stay with us again, I would like to point out that we do offer fish, both kippers and smoked haddock. A small supplement applies; please see our breakfast menu for details. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Had travelled to Old Hunstanton on Sunday 27th May for day, enjoyed it so much decided to stay.No rooms anywhere so headed home.Called in on off chance&bingo&v good receptionist.Good price,Lovely room, free spa &would recommend it
Room was good, with dual aspect windows, clean and comfortable with a powerful shower over the bath. Dinner was tasty, portion sizes were good and the service was friendly and efficient. The gym was well laid out with decent equipment although we didn't get time to try out the pool. Next time we stay we would like to try one of the superior rooms with a balcony or terrace.
Stayed here for a weekend away in Norfolk. When we first arrived to check in, the hotel didn't have our booking on system. Luckily they still had rooms available and we got an upgrade to a garden suite which was good compensation. The room was really big and had access to a lovely garden, and the bathroom was nice and clean also. The decor was slightly outdated however. We also ate at the Garden restaurant in the evening. The service, although polite and professional, felt a bit rushed to take our orders, and meant we didn't feel as relaxed. The decor again was a bit outdated, but it had lovely views. Just returned home from a stay here and couldn't have had a better time. We had a small double room but it was plenty but enough. Really clean and comfy, and the bathroom was big and a lovely shower! There was tea and biscuits and the tv has sky as well which we weren't expecting! The staff were very friendly too. We also ate in the restaurant and there was a great selection of food and drinks and it was delicious! There was a good play area too which would be good if you have kids! Overall would highly recommend this hotel, We also used the spa facilities and had massages, which were very nice. They could do with a few more beds around the pool, as there were only three beds and the rest just chairs. Overall had a nice stay, but with a few areas of improvement.
A very pleasant hotel with a nice sized pool and gym attached, which if I'd had appropriate clothing I would have used. There is a choice of hotel restaurant or adjacent pub for dinner. Breakfast in the restaurant was what one expects, although the layout could be better the food was fine. We had the cheapest room for one night, bed was great, in bath shower not great (but it was as one would expect). Overall, I'd go back again, but probably go for a room with a walk in shower.
I have stayed at the hotel for a couple of months now with work. The staff have all been very friendly and helpful and have provided excellent customer service. The restaurant staff are delightful and nothing is too much trouble. Sadly I can't remember all their names but a special mention goes to Vaiva, Tiffany and Cheryl - thanks ladies.

Thank you for your review and your continued loyalty. It was lovely to hear that you find our staff friendly and helpful. Thank you particularly for your special mentions to Vaiva, Tiffany and Cheryl, I will ensure that your compliments are passed on to them.
Lovely hotel, room was enormous, it was a twin garden view with a patio and table and chairs. Inside there were two beds and a table with 4 armchairs. The bed was so comfortable and there was everything we needed. We used the on-site Imagine spa, very nice! Food in the restaurant was superb and also in the on site pub/restaurant. Staff were lovely and helpful. I would definitely go again!

This hotel is a bit outside Kings Lynn but a short drive to the centre. The hotel itself is old but really nice. I stayed in a few different rooms during my stay there and I can't say I had a bad one. Especially what I think was the honeymoon suite. That room was incredible. The gym and swimming pool are really nice. The hotel restaurant food is fantastic. It is modern and the specials change daily with innovative dishes. There is also a pub on the site if you wanted to mix it up or have something less fancy. A decent selection of typical pub foods with again, daily specials. There is a decent selection of beers and ciders too.

Had a proper winning evening in the farmers arms pub and Laura and Risha were by far the finest bar maids I've ever been served by All round bloody great visit, again Laura and Risha were fantastic Decor needs work but still lovely place
We got married at the Knights Hill on Saturday 14th April, we had the most perfect day! The hotel staff were all lovely, so helpful. The food was amazing and all of the guests were blown away with it. The whole day was run smoothly from start to finish, best day of our lives and we couldn't have wanted anything else! Thankyou!! ??

The Hotel is in itself quite lovely as is the food . What is disappointing is the attitude when you have cause for complaint . I telephoned the Spa to book in for treatments as suggested on the email I received 3 days prior to arrival . The Spa was fully booked . As I have a pool and Hot Tub at home it seemed a waste of money but as no cancellation was allowed we decided to make the best of it . I had already emailed and asked if Robes Slippers and towels were provided for the Spa and was told they were . I was not however told that there is a charge of £5 for these unless you have a treatment booked - which you can't book because they have no free slots . Upon emailing my complaint the Hotel hide behind “ well the Spa is completely separate to the Hotel “ so why is it emblazoned all over your website then . So if you are booking to enjoy the Spa don't as their literature says in the room “ contact reception for an appointment “ or as their confirmation email states why not treat yourself to a relaxing massage because there aren't any appointments and they really couldn't give a damn .
This hotel deserves the Certificate of Excellence !! We enjoyed weekend stay at Knights Hill. Everything was great: Very comfortable and exceptionally clean rooms that has everything you need, friendly and helpful staff, especially Zoe on reception. Very tasty breakfast and the swimming pool. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely two night stay here. On our first night we ate in the adjoining pub and, after ordering, had to wait an hour before we actually received our food which was mediocre at best. My husband had gammon and I had a burger with pulled pork and cheese which was very dry. The following evening we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. The food in the hotel was superb, a bit more expensive but the quality and service far exceeded the pub. Our bedroom was good, comfortable bed and large bathroom with a super shower. Breakfast provided everything you could possibly want to start your day. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Great stay, very compatible rate for the room. The room had everything you need, it was quiet at night time, breakfast was very varied . Ideal location close to some lovely beaches . Highly recommend this hotel
We attended our sons wedding being held here and stayed for 2 evening in the courtyard accommodation. Booking in was simple and the service very helpful. Our rooms had everything we needed and were clean and tidy. Reception was manned throughout our stay with different members of staff all of whom were friendly and helpful. The venue was amazing for the wedding, the food was lovely. The evening function was held in the barn and again could not fault anything. A few members of our group have all commented on the service of the bar man called Sam, he was friendly, engaging throughout the evening, which he was mentioned by most of our party the next morning, he is an asset to your business. I highly recommend your hotel and along with your staff, ambience and surrounding, you made my sons wedding an amazing day. Thankyou
Nice hotel in a nice part of the country. Very spacious and well appointed room with comfortable bed. Staff friendly and amenable. Checkpu efficient didnt use many of the facilities but they seemed nice nonetheless.
This week I went for a quiet dinner with my daughter at the Garden Brasserie of the Knights Hill Hotel. We were greeted by Vaiva and Cheryl took our dinner order while we relaxed in the bar area overlooking the well kept lawns. The service was excellent throughout the meal and the bar man, Craig, was friendly as he brought our drinks over to the table. We ended the enjoyable evening outside in the garden. Definitely best restaurant in Kings Lynn.
We stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to explore some of the area, in particular the Damien Hirst exhibition at Houghton Hall. The hotel was easy to find and is in an excellent location for driving around whether east along to Cromer or in the immediate area including Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall and Sandringham. Only a mile away is Castle Rising castle and church, which are worth a visit. All the staff were friendly and helpful; check in and check out were very efficient and we dined in the restaurant on the two nights, which was very good and we enjoyed a bottle of wine on each evening from their wine list; which includes the option of wine by the glass for several of the wines. The sharing platter we had for a starter on the second evening was almost a meal in itself. The a la carte menu is supplemented by chef's specials and we picked and chose between the two. We pre-booked breakfasts which were excellent with a cold and hot buffet with some additional dishes like porridge, scrambled eggs and kippers cooked to order. A little inconsistency with the tea in the tea pot; on the first day there was one tea bag in it, which was fine; one the second there were two which made it far too strong. We were in courtyard rooms near to the bar and there was a wedding reception on nearby. We were warned at reception but in fact we were not disturbed. Arriving at the rooms is a little strange, as in fact you come into a front door at the back of the room, but the room was spacious and had views out to the next courtyard. The hotel claims to take great pride in its landscaped gardens, and these were a delight to see from the dining/breakfast room, albeit it was spring and many of the shrubs were just beginning to come out, but there was a riot of daffodils. The decor is a little bland and old-fashioned, but was fine. We didn't see all that we wanted to over the two days, so hope to return later in the year and I would happily stay here again.
Check in was super fast and staff very friendly and professional. Room was large and had everything we needed and we were not expecting a little mini kitchen which we felt was really useful. The bed was comfortable and pillows were good. Reception staff always acknowledged us whenever we passed by and seemed helpful. Room was cleaned daily to a good standard and biscuits/tea/coffee/toiletries replenished when necessary. Room was a little dated but perfectly adequate. Did not use the onsite restaurant but did use the attached pub -which I will do a separate review on as was poor. A great base to explore the surrounding areas and I would stay here again.
Recently stayed at this hotel with my daughter having booked their 'Winter break deal'. Our stay was a joint celebration of my daughter's birthday and graduation and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing and all members of staff were polite and welcoming. The room was nice and clean and the beds were extremely luxurious and comfortable. We enjoyed our time in the spa and the treatments were amazing!!! I love this hotel and have stayed here previously (Christmas) and I'm sure I will be visiting again soon.
We stayed just one night here as we were visiting north Norfolk. Very comfortable hotel. The room we had (101) had a vast bed and was very comfortable. A little tired in place but I felt that that added to the charm rather than detracted. The evening meal was, I have to admit, a little disappointing, wine a little on the warm side & meal not esp great, esp for the price ("fish goujons" read fish fingers!, with dry chips) Breakfast was good though (lovely coffee) & plentiful. Very sad to see than another guest was wearing a vest ( a bloke) scruffy shorts & trainers while holding a loud conversation on his mobile phone....not nice. Perhaps being Bank holiday week end was an issue.
Just spent another night at this excellent hotel after a long day to find out there was a wedding on So wasn't expecting much sleep as I am away early in the morning But after explaining this to Zoe at reception she was more than happy to move me to a quieter part of the hotel it's great service like this that makes me come back and recommend to others 5*
We had a afternoon tea voucher which could be used either here, hunstanton or peterborough. So we decided to visit here which was a first. A wedding was going to take place so we sat in a little room by ourselves. Afternnon tea was a selection of sandwiches, 2 scones, and a few different cakes. All good value.
Stayed here as we got a good deal very good location, a bit worried there was going to be traffic noise being next to the main road but very quiet indeed. Had 2 nights there large room décor a little dated but very clean and tidy. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Not normally a fan of buffet breakfast but this was one of the better ones. Would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly reception staff, explained where everything was. Room 101 was excellent, very large and furnished very nicely. Huge en-suite with lots of complimentary products. Breakfast was buffet style and very good quality with plenty to choose from. We used the Garden Room restaurant as the adjoining Farmers Arms was packed, very nice food but very pricey. The only issue was no beer or ales on draft all in bottles. The Spa facilities were excellent the only thing is you have to go outside to access the complex we were there in snow so a bit cold going in and out.
Went to a wedding reception here last night and I can't praise it enough. The staff were friendly and had a joke with us and the venue was gorgeous! Looked fab! When we arrived we were told how the day ceremony was amazing too and that the rooms people had booked were a decent size with nice decor! Lovely little place to hold a wedding and/or reception!
The hotel was good, staff was very helpful and polite. Food in the Restaurant was excellent all cooked to order and fresh plus wasn't a long wait. Room was nice size and clean and the bed was comfy Unfortunately the swimming pool was closed due to broken down boiler so never got to try it, the spa treatments was ok the missus liked the aromatherapy bath which was big enough for two and you get 45mins of uninterrupted relaxing adult fun ;) all in not a bad weekend and got extra bonus points of the missus so cant be to bad if makes her happy
We had a great visit last year and returned with expectation of a similar experience. Sadly revisiting somewhere you loved has the danger of falling below expectation when the first visit sets the bar so high. Our relaxing visit got off to a bad start in the locker rooms where only certain lockers will take a trolley token and even then only of manipulated into place with wooden coffee stirrers. We then went to register and were told the pool and jacuzzi were both closed due to a boiler issue. Apparently they tried to get hold of us to warn us (we traveled 90 miles so a heads up would have been welcome). I had received no missed calls and clearly the thought of sending me an email when they couldn't contact me went over the head of the staff member doing the trying. I would give the lady in the spa her due though, she has given us another spa day free of charge. And so into the spa we went. First the steam room - we left there rapidly as it was cold and lacking steam due to not being switched on long enough before opening. We then went into the sauna which was the exact same story. The steam room and sauna by the pool were next to be visited and in all honesty they were a good temperature. We had the aromatherapy bath treatment which was fantastic. A bath for two, with underwater colour lights, jets, floating lilies, prosseco and chocolates. Lovely jubly. Also brownie points awarded for fact that chocolates were lindt. Sadly after leaving treatment room the reality of our poor day hit. The spa had suddenly filled with chavs. Girls chasing each other throwing ice at each other and boys pool side running around and face timing there mates. Empty salt scrub dishes and lack of staff. I understand the spa cannot be responsible for teaching customers to behave like respectful humans, but a staff presence may have deterred some moron behaviour. I really hope when we revisit I will be able to leave a 5 star review as I know this venue is capable of achieving this accolade.
Reception well laid out, staff attentive. Room we had was excellent and well stocked. Restaurant is good. Food cooked well and served in a reasonable time. I'm not a fan of hot buffets at breakfast as the food is rarely hot. Kept warm is all. But there was plenty to choose from.
Children need to be at least 16 to swim without adult supervision. Even when they have more swimming diplomas than their parents or the present staff, they're not allowed to be in the pool without an adult. Safety is not a matter of age, it's a matter of being capable. 16 years or older and not able to swim at all? No problem, you can be in the pool on your own. 11 years old, three diplomas and a extra course of rescue swimming? You're not allowed to be alone in the pool and an adult has to be there in the water... Not very friendly for families!
I had my 30th Birthday party here and I enjoyed it very much. Joe and Aiden were amazing and very helpful. I booked a courtyard room but when I came to check in the receptionist told us that we have been move in the hotel. Bit disappointed as wanted to be near the function room. But overall a good stay.
We stayed in February for two nights, prompted by the location and on site Spa facilities. On arrival we headed straight for the Spa, this was fairly quiet but had the feel of a disorganised public swimming pool, no robes or footwear provided, limited space to relax around the pool and only very basic refreshments available, the changing rooms were decidedly grubby with mildew in the showers and the shower fittings were loose, this was not what we would describe anything other than budget quality and in need of a refurb compared to similar places where we have stayed. That said the treatments we had booked were excellent, Lucinda looked after us and was very helpful. As we had been searching for a Hotel and Spa, this proved a disappointment, had we known this we may have chosen somewhere different. The hotel was clean and tidy with everything you would expect and the room was spacious. The breakfast was good, however the evening menu in the main restaurant was a little limited in choice, but the food was good, we had the same fixed price menu and the same drinks two nights running, but strangely the cost of the drinks differed both nights. All in all a good hotel but a disappointing Spa
Lindsey G, Marketing Executive at Knights Hill Hotel & Spa, responded to this review
Thank you for your kind comments regarding the hotel. We have passed your concerns onto the spa as this is run independently. This has clearly impacted on your overall experience, we therefore need to address the issues raised.
Went on the 17th of Feb at 7pm it was obviously busy and told about an hours wait which we though was ok as we were with family. We sat at table 39 after roughly 80 minutes I thought I would mention we haven't been served. It miraculously then turned up and looked awful and tasted even worse. We then complained and a you waiter didn't have a clue how to react to a complaint said something I still can't comprehend, then a waitress walked past and I then said we aren't happy and she walked off. We tried a bit more of the food and decided enough is enough and went to leave as they had my card in a card safe I had to go and retrieve it and again complained as did many others in the queue and nothing, no response not even a sorry or sorry about the service or the food. I personally would say don't go near this place at the weekend as it is just awful and we have used this place a lot in the past but won't again, I'm trying to be nice but it's shocking.
Lindsey G, Marketing Executive at Knights Hill Hotel & Spa, responded to this review
We are so sorry to hear of your recent experience. We kindly ask if you could confirm if this relates to the hotel pub the Farmers Arms or the hotel brasserie? Please be assured we have raised your concerns with the General Manager who will be looking into these.
Stayed in a courtyard room here whilst at a wedding and it was lush. Having the use of the pool/spa facilities was also a bonus. The wedding itself was lovely, gorgeous food and great service from the staff. Added bonus having the 24 hour bar for the guests so the celebrations could continue on. Highly recommend.
Stayed here for 1 evening as was working in the area. It was a very hotel, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, in particular the night staff George and David. Room was comfortable and clean. Would stay here again.
Arrived late at night after long trip, booked in ok - I had to ask for breakfast times. Room was really hot, turned radiator down but wasn't effective. Bathroom was not clean - had it not been so late, I would have asked to move. Breakfast - food was fine, service - just rude. I stood at the sign where it asks you to wait - I heard someone shout across the bar, it turns out it was the waitress shouting me to walk over to her - She sternly advised me 'I called you twice'!. showed me to my table - offered me tea and coffee and walked away - no explanation how breakfast worked! Bad manners really - view out of the breakfast room was lovely. I wouldn't stay again - I prefer Premier Inn, its always clean and staff are polite.
We recently got married in Knights Hill and it was the most wonderful day!! Everything was perfect - the food was amazing and there was so much of it (which everyone loved), the waiters were very professional and friendly and venue was stunning!! The honeymoon suite and spa were also amazing!! Amanda Flower and Tom Mitchell were really good at helpping to organsie the perfect wedding to suit us. They were so helpful and supportive leading all the way up to the wedding - letting us set up in the room the night before the wedding, letting us store the decorations for a few days prior to the wedding day, and answering all our questions. Thank you for making our wedding day so perfect and one we will never forget!!
My first visit to this restaurant within Knights Hill,Very professional waiting staff (Betty, Cheryl and Finlay) and gorgeous food, I had the beef fillet which was well cooked and presented beautifully. Look forward to visiting again in the near future, which will likely be for Sunday lunch.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Certain aspects were brilliant and others were really poor. It is a little tired and could do with a refurb in the public areas. The restaurant staff were great and the food was really good. Rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is very nice but gets quite busy. The thing that let it down for us was the smoking. Lots of the rooms have a balcony and we specifically booked a room that did. The hotel is no smoking throughout with the exception of the balcony but they didn't tell us that. We had our 3 month old baby with us and opened the balcony doors to let the fresh air in but our room got filled with cigarette smoke as the couple next door were smoking. We asked them politely not too and explained that we had a baby but they were rude and told us where to go. We asked reception who also had a word with them and got the same response. We put up with it for three nights and then had enough. We asked reception what they could do and they offered us a new room away from the guy who was smoking. We moved and all was ok until 30 minutes later and they booked another smoker in at the last minute right next to our new room. We asked again and they said he's a regular and spoke to him and he stopped. I feel bad complaining but you don't expect to get smoked out in a non smoking hotel. It made our room stink and we didn't want our baby inhaling smoke fumes. Very disappointing. Apart from this it was very enjoyable.
A lovely warm cosy room with a comfortable bed, although on closer inspection the chairs were rather shabby and could do with replacing. Breakfast was excellent, hot and a good selection. We ate in the restaurant the first night and in the adjoining pub the second night and couldn't fault either.
As a regular user of this spa I would like to give credit to the work of one particular member of staff. One of the ladies who cleans in the spa area (Pearl) always has a pleasant manner. She seems to carry out the tasks she does thoroughly and in a professional way. It is reassuring to know that this important part of the upkeep of the spa is done with such enthusiasm and a smile. Thank you!
Amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff, who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We had a beautiful room with a balcony and gorgeous view. Very tasty breakfast and some great places to visit around the area.
The decor of this place very much feels like you've slipped through some sort of time portal back to the '70s. Everything is brown, even down to the beige bathroom units (which still have separate taps...). But it's not tatty. It seems to have been well looked after, and the pricing for a room with breakfast and swimming pool / gym thrown in was pretty reasonable. The staff are friendly. The rooms are quiet (facing away from the road). So if it's a '70s hotel, it's a reasonable one.
A group of 13 for lunch. We decided not to have the Carvery which is usually very good. Unfortunately the Lunch time Bar Menu was not quite so good. Some of the food was cold so had to go back to be reheated. Service was polite and friendly though. Just should have had the Carvery perhaps.
We have stayed at Knights Hill several times and it's always been consistently good. The staff are fantastic and the food great. The New Year Party had all the makings of a great evening - atmospheric venue, great food, served efficiently by the brilliant staff team. But the disco could be improved on. Almost exclusively 60's and 70's music, practically no modern stuff. Please give us more of a mixture, especially the big hits of the year. I wanted to give Knights Hill a top rating but had to dock a point for the disco.
We stayed here on a Saturday night. From arrival to departure, the staff were very polite, professional and friendly. We were upgraded to a beautiful room, charter room, which was lovely with garden views. We were given complimentary bath robes on request and spent some time relaxing in the pool and spa area. We didn't eat in the Hotel but we did eat in the Farmers Arms pub attached to the Hotel. We found a 50 % off food voucher so that made it even better. Again the young lady Called Rachel was very accommodating. All in all a very enjoyable stay, will definitely return ...
We stayed for one night and was very impressed both with the hotel itself and the team . The staff were Extremely helpful and friendly . The room was warm , clean , well presented and definitely worth the money . We ate at the Farmers Arms which is located on the hotel grounds .Food was good , as was the atmosphere . Definitely going back :)
Booked for a 'party night' for our works xmas do. Fantastic staff & a brilliant evening. The Christmas meal was great. Our room was beautiful and breakfast was wonderful. We really could not fault our stay.
We booked for my Grandmas funeral wake and from the start could not have received better service, advice or care. On the day everything was more than perfect, food was amazing, designated member of staff for serving coffee and nothing was too much trouble. It was a no brainer when unfortunately 9 weeks later we were booking another for my aunt and yet again Knights Hill did us proud. Everyone who attended either or both events commented on the quality (and quantity) of the food served. The cakes and fruit were a real winner! A huge "Thank you" to Carol, who on both occasions was our designated member of staff and Carol could not have been more attentive or caring to us under what was very difficult circumstances, especially on our return visit. I would highly recommend Knights Hill all round.
Promises more than it delivers. For instance: 1. Advertises electric vehicle charging. When we visited, they parked or allowed a refrigeration trailer to park in a way that prevented use of the charging points by electric vehicle (but they did offer to direct me to Tesco! 2. Check in is at 2pm, we arrived at 1.15 so decided to have a sandwich lunch. We ordered sandwiches and some coffees. After a long period the drinks arrived and the waiter had no knowledge of any sandwich order. Eventually arrived after forty minutes with no apology. 3. Service in the restaurant was slow. But the food was reasonably good. 4. Many of the lockers for the gym do not work; I had to try five before finding one that worked. However, it has some good points. Room 102 is beautiful and has beautiful sunset views and a four poster bed. The gym was well equipped with multi gym, treadmill, exercise bikes and rowing machines plus a nice pool and jacuzzi. It's location is good for exploring the Wash and into Lincolnshire or the North Norfolk coast. The shortfalls of course all curable if they had the leadership that cares; but they clearly don't so best to avoid.
Enjoyed Dinner, bed & breakfast which was excellent. The food, service & room provided brilliant value for money. Restaurant service couldn't have been better & I really enjoyed the breakfast! Will return to this hotel and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wish to stay in this area.
Stayed here a few times in December for work. The hotel's nice and rooms are good. Staff are great especially Zoe, couldn't do enough for you at reception taxi numbers, where to go in King's Lynn, what to eat at the restaurant etc. Hotel has a good gym and spa (that I couldn't find anywhere else in King's Lynn).
Cannot fault this hotel at all. Staff, rooms, cleaness, breakfast the location full marks even the lovely thick white towels in the bathroom and the warmth. There was three of us in our party on a bus tour to thursfod and we all said the same
Just couldn't have asked for anything more!! Room was excellent with a really comfortable bed, we slept so well. Ate in the garden restaurant and farmers arms inn. The food I have to say was lovely and served very quickly. Service throughout from all involved was great and worth mentioning that Cheryl was so helpful. Wouldn't have visited the great beach & dunes at Old Hunstanton (or The Mariners!!) had she not mentioned it. Came home so relaxed.
Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding anniversary. Totally acceptable accommodation with clean room. Cooked breakfast was good especially the local sausages. Ate at the pub next door which was a bit uninspiring but a short drive to Kings Lynn for a wider choice. Staff were friendly and polite. Spa was a bit limited and basic but does the job. If there was a GOOD rating it would get that since it's a hotel that is trying hard and is better than AVERAGE but just not quite VERY GOOD. If you're looking for a really decent place to stay without breaking the bank, have no hesitation. It's just not got the X factor but you'll have to pay much for that elsewhere towards the North Norfolk coastal towns and villages.
Stayed here for one night whilst visiting the fantastic show at Thursford. The hotel was fantastic. From the nice welcome, lovely room with Balcony , and very nice dinner. This was followed by a lovely buffet breakfast. Certainly would consider a longer stay.
Travel to this hotel with our local coach company for one night stop , a very impressive hotel ,lovely large room , with a small kitchen area ( a nice surprise,if we know about it we would have brought something to cook as we would be returning late from a local Christmas show ) bathroom spot less ,breakfast excellent and also the staff was 100% , would we stay again Yes
We decided to stay at this hotel as we was visiting friends as they live close to the hotel. We got a deal as we're best Western members. We was booked in the court yard but on booking in the really nice lady on reception said there is a function tonight and it will be noicey till about 12.30 was you told this on booking we wasn't so she found us another room in main building on ground floor. Check in was very good. The room was very spacious clean but on walking in it smelt really musty and it also smelt like someone had been smoking in there. The beds and pillows also smelt musty. The furniture was a bit dated. It had patio doors with table and chairs outside nice in the summer. Free WiFi. Could have done with a separate shower so you didn't have to climb over the bath the room was big enough for one. Only a small cupboard for wardrobe but there was an iron and ironing board in there. There was plenty of tea coffee and milks. We did not have breakfast so don't know what it was like. We ate in the adjoining pub rubbish service but food was ok. The only downside was we was woken up at 1am with the fire alarm going off and we had to vacate our room. Everyone was huddled in reception for about 30 mins no one did a count on guests or checked everyone was out of the rooms so disorganised. We got back to our room got into bed then it went off again. Then to top it all we had a mosquito bussing around in our room all night. the next day l was covered in bites. What a night "no sleep". We have stayed in better 3 star hotels.
This is a large sprawling hotel with no lifts catering for OAP coach trips so gets very busy and noisy at times. However my room was clean and comfortable although a little dark and with no heating as the radiator and one bedside lamp did not work. Not too much of a problem as it was only an overnight stay but had I stayed longer I would have asked for another room. There was a good selection for breakfast though, again the dining room was crowded and the staff struggling to clear the tables. Tea or coffee is brought to your table which resulted in a long wait - I had to ask twice. A help-yourself coffee machine at busy times would solve this problem. Overall a good hotel but isolated so your own transport is essential. If you can't carry your luggage up several winding stairs ask for a ground floor room.
We stayed here for a two night weekend break earlier this month. Firstly, let me say that on arrival I asked for a quiet room and was told that we had already been given a complimentary upgrade to a four poster room. A first for me! This was large with an amazingly, comfortable, enormous bed and I slept much better than usual. Very clean, comfortable chairs and big bath and powerful shower. It was in the original house, rather than th newer courtyard rooms and had a view over fields. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and thoroughly enjoyed all the food- I can especially recommend the trio of chocolate desserts- yummy! Breakfast is buffet style and there is a reasonable selection. I used the swimming pool, and also had a massage. Both enjoyable.
We had our wedding here and we could not fault a thing! Staff amazing especially Betty! Nothing was to much trouble, the breakfast was hot and delicious the rooms were spacious and spotless what more can u ask for!
Good hotel. Friendly staff. Restaurant and on site pub both good. Close to Sandringham and the Norfolk coast. Spa facilities a bonus. Would stay again if we return to the area. Staff prepared to solve any difficulties
Had a four night stay here recently, having stayed several times before. Rooms all differ in shape and layout and are a good standard, with comfy beds and pillows, clean and well-stocked with everything you would need. Spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfasts were efficient, with a very good choice, but I don't see why it's necessary to charge extra for kippers or haddock. We ate in the Farmers Arms; the menu isn't quite as comprehensive as it has been previously, but the specials board adds some fresh choices and the food was well cooked. I have to single out one member of staff for special praise: Lucy, the waitress in the Farmers Arms, is a gem. She would be an asset to any organisation, so pleasant and genuine, and really helpful.
We held my daughter's Wedding Reception at Knights Hill Hotel last weekend. The whole event was superb. The event was planned very professionally, the bride and groom were greeted on arrival by the General Manager, the meal was very tasty and there was lots of it, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
Having stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, I did not hesitate to book again when needing to be in the area. It is in a very good location for North Norfolk, and easy to get to from major roads. The staff at this hotel are excellent, very professional and always helpful and friendly, the hotels best asset. Thank you to everyone.
Stayed here two days ago en route to a Norfolk holiday and was very impressed with the hotel. It was certainly value for money and even the standard twin room was huge with a great bathroom. The pool facilities were fine and breakfast had all the right ingredients . We would return .
Stayed one night and found this a very average hotel. While the room was large it was tired, dated and the bathroom decor needed some attention. Very slow wifi, TV didn't work and the alarm clock required a PhD to operate. So not impressed with the technology. Breakfast summed up the hotel overall, very mediocre. If staying in the area again would look for alternative accommodation.
We visited Knights Hill last night with my partner for his birthday. I had booked a room at rather short notice and was only able to get a twin room, not ideal but that was my fault. However the night of our stay we had asked if we were able to upgrade to a double room and was able to do so which we were thrilled with and we even managed to get a breakfast each for £12.59 instead of £15 each. Our room was absolutely beautiful, very fresh and clean. The bed was superb we had a lovely stay and would definitely return.
Stayed here for 4 nights and was impressed with everything found in this hotel. I am a hard man to please having worked in the hotel trade for many a year but this hotel ticked all the boxes for me. Being a retired professional chef, I have problems finding good food that is fresh and entertaining to the pallet and after eating here I was impressed, to say the least, having sampled most of the food in the restaurant. All the staff was a friendly bunch where nothing was a bother to them to help with our questions. One member that stood out was Ian the day porter, who never seemed to me to stop whilst at work, just wished I still had his energy.
The hotel was easy to find, my course was held in the small barn. The environment was very pleasant. I found the course to be really good. I must also say the buffet lunch we had was of extremely good quality. There was a large variety of different things to eat. Two lady members of staff were there on hand to help (I needed some assistance due to mobility issues) Thank you Stacey and Claire, hope I remembered your names! I will recommend the venue to family and friends for future gatherings. Mrs P.
Service was extremely slow. One dish was burnt so had to be sent back, the vegetables for the other dishes were cold, and the meat for one dish was over cooked Certainly not the best place to go if you expect hot food, and the food was served on cold plates, my big bugbear
Stayed there one night on a special autumn/winter deal - only £60 for 2 including breakfast! Building excellent - a converted manor house and outbuildings but with a modern interior, all tastefully done. Room was large and with a small kitchenette. I'm sure it was an upgraded room despite paying so little. Breakfast good with plenty of choice. Good leisure centre with reasonably sized pool, gym, sauna & steam room for guests' use. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening (too expensive for us!) but in the attached pub which has been tastefully converted from outbuildings. It is a real pub and not the usual excuse for one attached to many hotels. 4 real ales, all well kept, and food was good although at the upper end of what you would expect to pay in a pub in the area. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Even had a charging point for electric cars in the car-park - never seen that before. We will return!
First time ever in a spa. Thought the staff could have been more genuinely friendly instead of going through the motions. However, the girl who welcomed us explained everything fairly well. I opted for an aromatherapy bath which was really lovely and relaying. My daughter had a facial and said that the member of staff didn't chat at all. The Thermal Suite wasn't anything special but the relaxation room was amazing. Some parts of the spa needed updating/decorating. I would visit again.
As a member of the swimming/gym and spa facilities, that I pay for monthly, I feel the facilities have a lot to be desired, often the ladies changing rooms are filthy, many of the facilities are regularly broken and out of order i.e.; Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna out of order, even the pool on several occasions has had to be evacuated, due to poor water readings, many of the staff have a "don't care" attitude, and to top it off, when you make a complaint, nothing changes or is dealt with.
We stayed here late summer. It is a big complex, all low rise with nice gardens and views. Only slightly spoilt by a coach load of visitors arriving en mass then things get a little crowded in reception and the restaurant, maybe it is an occasional thing, but nothing too disturbing. That's my point I guess it is one of those everything works fine hotels. The restaurant is fine, not special but the pub adjacent has a little more atmosphere. We had an issue that disturbed our nights sleep, I wont go into detail as the important part is the way the hotel dealt with it - very equitable without arguing. Sometimes things go wrong and the management are judged on how they deal with things. In this case very fairly. So yes when next in the area we will return.
We booked in for a two night bed and breakfast stay at this wonderful hotel, we stayed here last year for my 50th birthday and enjoyed it, so thought we would go again , well we were not disappointed. The staff at this hotel are so helpfull and polite nothing is to much trouble, we must single out one particular staff member his name is Aiden and I must say he is a credit to your hotel a very helpful polite young man, a big thanks from us to him for all his help. our room was large, clean and very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The pool facilities are lovely and it wasn't to busy when I used them. We ate at the farmers arms next to the hotel it was again faultless We will most definitely by using this hotel again.
My partner and our one year old baby had a fantastic stay here! Check in was quick and smooth, the guy on reception (who was an apprentice) was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and polite and our room was spacious (garden room on ground floor) with travel cot in room as requested. Room was modern, clean, comfortable beds, fab shower and had tea/ coffee facilities. We had a slight issue with our bath plug not holding in the water but this was fixed very quickly. Breakfast was delicious, large selection of cereals, fruit yogurt, juices and traditional English cooked breakfast. Both the Garden Brasserie and the pub served fab food, reasonably priced and the service was excellent. The swimming pool, hot tub etc were lovely - only very small gripe was that there is a very narrow walkway around the edge of the pool so this made me a bit nervous carrying baby!. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely visit again. I think the main thing which stands out is the impeccable service we experienced from every member of staff in the hotel, they are all a credit to the Best Western group and have obviously been very well trained :)
We booked in for 3 nights, 2 of those we took our evening meal in the hotel restaurant. The menu selection was perfectly adequate & all of what we chose for our meals was wholesome & well presented. The staff were very welcoming & helpful at reception, as well as in the restaurant. Daily housekeeping involved provision of clean towels every day. We had a most enjoyable break in a very convenient location for exploring the locality.
We visit the Garden Restaurant every couple of months and the food and service can vary. On this visit as a party of 3 we were seated at 2 round tables that had been pushed together which felt a little strange. The restaurant was the busiest we have seen it for a while. Initially 2 of us were brought the wrong order so had to wait for our soup. When it arrived it was lukewarm. We mentioned it to the waitress who offered to bring another one but as the other member of the party had nearly finished their starter we declined. The beef and pork were excellent although the gravy with the beef was again lukewarm. We had sufficient vegetables for 3 people. Dessert was very good (Eaton mess and sticky toffee pudding). We had tea in the lounge and one of the waiters came after a while and asked "are you done?", we had not finished our tea so sent him away. One of the waitresses saw us and asked if we had been given a discount on our bill (we had already paid and had not received a reduction). She took the bill away and returned saying that we would be given a 20% discount next time we visited. Not too sure how that will work or whether they have a record of this, we will see. This is a nice place for Sunday lunch but the food and service should be consistent and this does need some attention. There seems to be several new waiting staff since our last visit so hopefully they will be trained to a good level. We will return and look forward to a good meal with a discount!
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The website gives a fair representation of the hotel After check in , we were assigned a room next to a disco / wedding (in the anex). After the party started - there was not only noise - we also felt the vibrations in the room. When complaining we go another room from the receptionist. This room was in the main building and extremely hot. I presume it was located over the kitchen - and you could not open the window wide enough to cool it down. There was no AC - but there were 2 fans. We managed to sleep after a while. The second night one of the fans no longer worked - and again reception looked for a new second fan - which was not as good - and the room remained not terribly comfortable. Why a hotel - that is not fully booked - puts guests in its worst rooms remains a mistery to me. Were we punished for using Expedia ? The reception people made an effort to make the best out of a bad situation - but the overall impression remains a poor price / quality ratio and we cannot recommend this hotel
I have been here many times and had fantastic experiences so took my friend here for her birthday after buying a voucher for spa and afternoon tea for 2 for £35. The spa as always was lovely slightly busy as it was a Saturday but not overcrowded. The afternoon tea was surrounded by beautiful walled garden and had plenty to offer. I would have been nice to have been asked which sandwiches we would have liked though and they brought us more tea at no extra charge. We would defiantly come again
Myself and two friends stayed for 5 nights recently. We all agreed that there was very little to find fault with. The room I had was perfectly acceptable, fairly large, clean and comfortable. The first night we ate at the associated pub. This was not so great, the service was slow and the food not good. The rest of our stay we ate in the hotel restaurant which was much better in terms of service and food albeit more expensive but worth it. We had one issue on one night with service and food but the staff dealt with the situation well and gave us our starters free. We found the staff cheerful, friendly and helpful. We agreed we would stay there again as it is also well located to visit places in Norfolk.
Overnighted here last night as I was attending a lunch with old school friends. Very pleased with the room, which was warm and quiet with a super comfortable bed, plus extras such as iron/ironing board and tea tray with kettle. Good hot shower. The breakfast was really excellent and the lunch was lovely and for a reasonable price. The hotel grounds are pleasant and well kept.
Stayed here after an Funeral. This is a very good hotel in the Best Western Group. High quality rooms which seem to be newly decorated with quality fittings. there is a safe should you require one in the rooms. Breakfast was of a high standard and the staff were attentive. I would choose to stay here again if I ever visit this area again.
Stayed here for 3 nights . The hotel was clean and quiet . The room was great well equipped, really nice grounds as well. All the staff were great but a young apprentice called Steven done that little bit extra for us. Would definitely recommend a visit , the breakfast was amazing recommend poached eggs .done to perfection .
We booked into the spa for 4 hours & afternoon tea. My Husbands birthday treat. I rang the hotel to upgrade from Afternoon Tea to 2 Course Sunday Lunch. The lady checked and phoned me back. The answer was yes but on the agreement we paid the extra as it was more expensive. I agreed this over the phone. On the day we used the spa and then headed over for our lunch. The lady l spoke to claimed she was the manager and knew nothing about it. She went off checked and then returned saying she would be this on this one occasion but it is not the normal. I did state that if we had to have afternoon tea this is not a problem. The lady claiming to be the manager, i felt spoke out of order to us both. I understand that yes you do get some customers who ask for changes. But l did ring up 2 days prior to check. Therefore there was lack of communication within the Garden Room staff. Anyhow it all turned out okay in the end, that's the main thing. Lovely 2 course Sunday lunch :)
We arrived from Australia worse for the wear with travel and arrived at this hotel feeling not too terrific. The address we had received whilst booking did not get us anywhere on a car GPS however we asked a friendly local who directed us and ended the conversation with "why in the world would you want to come to Kings Lynn?" And....she (Princess Diana) used to go there from nearby Sandringham Estate for a swim! On first impression the room seemed very small and a bit shabby, the shower appeared not to work and a man came to show us how and that the instruction for the bath/ shower bivalve lever should have read elevate and NOT depress. Despite the initial problem it was a great shower. There are two options for dining, a Pub and a restaurant in the hotel. We opted for the Restaurant and found the service and food excellent , highly recommend it! The bed was very clean and comfortable and the place delightfully quiet. Added bonus........waking to the sound of birdsong, heavenly!
My husband and I went to stay at the Knights Hill Hotel the night after our wedding for our 'mini-moon'. The customer service from the staff was of extremely high standard from start to finish. Upon our arrival we were congratulated by the staff on the front desk, who gave us a complimentary upgrade to a superior room. We hadn't been in the room 5 minutes before there was a knock on the door, we were pleasantly surprised to see a staff member standing with a complimentary bottle of prosecco and two champagne glasses. The next day we spent the day at the spa, we had an aromatherapy bath booked and walked in to the treatment room to the room being decorated with petals, champagne and chocolates, again we were totally surprised! We can't thank the hotel enough for their thoughtfulness and generosity, we were overwhelmed by the superb level of customer service and will definitely be returning. Thank you!
well located on outskirts of King's Lynn. Booked the Large Barn for 100 mourners. Food was excellent as was the service. A few more bodies behind bar initially would have been better. Rate excellent fot this type of 'event'
My daughter and I have just returned from a three night stay at this lovely hotel. From the moment we checked in, we felt right at home. The staff are extremly friendly and courteous and can't do enough for you. We paid a little extra and stayed in one of the garden rooms (44), I definitely recommend it. The room was huge, the bed was massive, big bath with overhead power shower, very big flat screen TV. There was no fridge in the room, that was the only negative thing about the room. The best feature though was the room overlooked the hotel's most beautiful garden and we had our own private patio with furniture, our summer evenings were spent relaxing outside. We enjoyed the room service, breakfast was great and a couple of times we walked to the onsite pub for dinner. The food there was reasonably priced and of good quality, portions huge! We have to give a huge THANK YOU to the Housekeeping team who looked after us so well, keeping us topped up with tea, coffee and milk etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even when we lost our car keys on departure, staff went back to our room trying to help us find them! Eventually found them in my bag!!!
Very nice motel located conveniently near a major road however the motel itself is very quiet once inside with pleasant meadow type views out the back. It's fairly modern, the rooms are well appointed, clean and of a fair size. The staff were friendly and helpful and service was good. The buffet breakfast provided was great. There are 2 dining choices the upmarket brasserie restaurant and the more traditional downmarket traditional and cheaper pub type fare located just outside the motel. We dined in the brasserie and the food and service was excellent, the price was on the high side but well worth it. The only negatives are there is not much around the location so you are confined to dining at the motel and the heater appeared to be turned up with no adjustment which made for a very warm room, overall a comfortable room and the experience was very pleasant, well worth the visit.
The hotel is a nice and reasonably priced place to stay, the restaurant / lounge food was however expensive and rather limited. Rooms ok comfortable. It's a good base to explore north Norfolk which is lovely. The staff were ok, wouldn't necessarily go back but no complaints.
We stayed in room G20 3rd to 5th August and were surprised that even though it was one of the first rooms nearest to reception it was relatively quiet. The stable door to the garden needs some tlc and could be made easier to lock and separate. The shower needed a new washer and sprayed water from the tap connection - great for jet washing your knees. The receptionist said that it was due to be replaced though so that's good. Parts of the room have been decorated to a contemporary standard and very tastefully done - however the old 80's pine dressing table sticks out like a sore thumb. Paint it white - shabby chic it ! Bit disappointed with the waitress greeting us for breakfast on the first morning - we waited by the sign that said "wait here to be seated" and she shouted across the bar "come in - come on !" like we were being beckoned into a headmasters office ! She showed us to the table - no good morning - no are you staying long - just a "coffee?" And then left us to get on with it. I darent ask for a poached egg. The second morning was lovely - a lovely greeting by 'bridie???' (Not sure of her name) A lovely smile and excellent service from the young lady from Washington DC. We enjoyed use of the spa but were disappointed to see a used screwed up plaster stuck next to the jacuzzi two days running. We both had sore throats and cold symptoms after which we think we caught from the spa. Don't get me wrong - we would go again - in the hope these little tweaks were rectified to make it a perfect stay. Best Western Knights Hill - Kings Lynn

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We have noted your comments in relation to the door and shower and have passed these to our maintenance team for investigation. We are extremely sorry to hear that your first visit to breakfast left you feeling underwhelmed. The General Manager has been made aware of your comments and will be looking into the matter. We are delighted that these little niggles did not overshadow your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.
Stayed one night whilst visiting family nearby and was happy with the stay. The rooms had character and were in an old building across from reception. One thing I didnt like was the heating wasn't on and although it wasn't freezing at night, I would have preferred to be able to adjust the heating.
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The room we were given was just off the reception (room 20). It was really rather strange. The room was functional and everything worked but it was all very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Examples include; a stable door to the outside with a clear gap between top door and bottom, a room that was as dark as a dungeon (even with the lights on!) a carpet that, whilst clean, was tired, a shower/bath that when stood in felt like a trampoline, a shower that worked and was powerful but also leaked covering the bathroom floor at the same time as the bather! However, biggest issue was the fact that we were woken consistently every night... The first night we were kept awake with some revellers that were in the reception area (just through from our room) until a time later than we're used to (gone 11:30pm), the following night, we were woken at 5am by the nightwatchman whistling and saying good morning to some early-risers, loud enough to wake us both and then, worst of all, the next night we were woken at 1:45am by the fire alarm going off and almost giving us a heart attack due to its volume rather than getting us out safely! We were evacuated, in a haphazard manner, not particularly orderly or professionally and waited for the fire service to arrive, only then to be advised that it was a false alarm due to a faulty sensor. We returned to bed at 2:15am only then to be woken, yet again, by the fire alarm going off for a second time around 5am, again due to the faulty sensor triggering the same zone!! When we checked out nothing was said about the disruption of the night and when we commented to the receptionist about the disruptive nights we had had, she simply offered an apology. We commented that Premier Inn offer a money-back guarantee for poor night sleep, which the receptionist claimed to know nothing about(!!!) but nevertheless, there was no suggestion of any alternative compensation of any sort. Pretty disappointing.
Me And The Wife Had A Lovely Stay Here The Staff Were Fantastic The Room Was Clean And Tidy Very Comfortable Bed. In Your Room You Get An Iron And Board Hair Dryer A Safe. Comfortable hotel with good location. Room & bathroom were spacey. Unfortunately Garden restaurant couldn't impress. Waitress wasn't engaged with our table (6 people). Forget one starter and same person got wrong main course. Trainee really struggled bringing out food & clearing afterwards. In August they will not serve even fresh summer berries but you can see strawberries as decoration. Didn't have time to use spa which I'm sorry about.
Had my wedding reception here 6 years ago, it was lovely then and still lovely now. The staff were great and the place in general is really really good, can't wait to go back. The bed I slept in was probably the most comfortable iv ever been in. Overall this place is excellent
A one night overnight stay and wow cant wait to come back. Check in was fast and I had been upgraded. An enormous room overlooking the gardens and literally everything you could need or want. Room service was quick and very tasty large portions aswell. This hotel is beautiful I had a fabulous nights sleep and all of the staff I encountered were exceptional, well done guys you made my stay perfect.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. Our Master Garden rooms are very popular with returning guests and we really hope you will visit us again soon.
We stayed for 6 nights in a double bed executive room with breakfast. The location was perfect for us, outside of town giving easy access to the main roads leading up the coast and down to the A10. The staff were brilliant throughout, helpful and polite at all times. The breakfast was also excellent, in particular the sausages and bacon were really good. The room was quite small but big enough for our needs. The bathroom was OK with a decent 'in bath' shower and plenty of hot water available. No fridge or minibar in the room was a slight disappointment. Room service was fast and tasty and the pub attached to the complex had good selection of beers and a nice atmosphere. We will certainly consider returning here when we next visit the UK, it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

Thank you very much for your review. It was lovely to hear that you had an enjoyable stay. If you do return to the UK we do have some rooms that have a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave.
My wife and I have just returned from a very enjoyable weekend here. The staff were very professional and friendly. The room was excellent and even had a small kitchen area which had a small cooker and microwave. We ate at the Farmers Arms next door which is associated with the hotel and that was very good too. I would recommend the hotel very highly.

Thank you for your great comments. We hope to see you again soon.
Had a lovely weekend away here. Very good room with all facilities. Swimming pool and spa. BUffet breakfast good. Had dinner in the restaurant both nights. Good food and service. There is also a pub on site as an alternative. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is lovely.spotless food is great too.the staff are so polite and caring obviously they must have in house training and it shows.the grounds aren't huge but its all beautifully kept. Bedrooms are big bathrooms lovely we have stayed here a few times love it. The swimming pool also is a big plus very clean everything provided a.gym as well.
Our room was clean and had lovely views over the gardens and despite being near the reception/facilities it was still quiet.. the only small moan I had was, that there was only a small shelf in the bathroom and so was not enough space for everything. The restaurant was clean and the food delicious, but the staff let it down. They didn't appear to know and when they did go to check they still gave the wrong answer. For example we asked if there would be a roast as it was Sunday and were told No, then the waitress checked and said yes. When we arrived for dinner we were disappointed to be told no roast, but on receiving the menu we found there was a roast! We asked what vegetables were served with the roast, the waitress didn't know and said she would check, she then advised us that they were crushed vegetables serve on a long dish (with the emphasis on long dish). When the meal arrived the vegetables were not crushed and on a normal plate.
I have stayed in this hotel many times and have enjoyed all of my stays. You can eat in the restaurant or go to the Farmers arms pub which is attached to the hotel, the food and service is great in both but I tend to use the pub. I would recommend this hotel to stay in whilst visiting Kings Lynn.
We booked a last minute break arriving in the evening. Staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming and offered to arrange a table in the restaurant immediately if we required one. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very pleasant surroundings. The room was very comfortable but very warm, we contacted reception who brought up a fan within minutes to try and help. Would recommend and will return
We have just returned from a long weekend at Knights Hill hotel. This is a medium size hotel in pleasant grounds and a spa for the use by guests. The staff are courteous and well presented. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, clean and tidy. Although one minor whinge not enough shelf or hanging points in the bathroom. This should not distract from the spacious rooms. The bar is we'll equipped and has a reasonable wine cellar. There is also plenty of seating areas inside and out to enjoy your drink. We ate in the hotel restaurant on both evenings which has a varied menu that would please most. Our meals were excellent. Breakfast is what you would expect from a British hotel a varied choice to please all. All in all a very pleasant stay at a friendly hotel. If you are like us and fancy the occasional weekend break in a pleasant area of England I can highly recommend The Best Western Knights Hill Hotel and Spa.
Had executive room very clean with luxury bathroom the room or hotel could not be faulted everything sparkling clean Staff presented themselves well the breakfast was buffet style eat as much as needed The swimming pool I looked through the windows this was empty but the water was very clean with clean floors We ate at night in the pub adjoining the hotel Farmers arms my wife had chicken and rice which was not very appealing I had lasagna and chips the lasagna was heated in microwave and was swimming in fat I had pint of lemonade wife had coke for £50.00 thought quite expensive
Very good location. The staff on reception were very helpful and presentable, The room was a good size and the complementary tray was well stocked. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant seemed a little expensive so we used the on site pub which had a better and cheaper menu. The breakfast was OK the cold section could have been better.
A very comfortable hotel, very nice ground floor room, a good choice for breakfast, cereals, yogurt, pastries or a self service hot buffet. We had a great evening meal, excellent quality local meat, with all the trimmings. There is a pub/restaurant across the car park, good food, very reasonable prices. Overall a great couple of nights stay.
Room could have done with new furnishings it was large room. Checked in said room only no it was booked b&b got it sorted. Breakfast was ok. Used the pool bit busy but managed. Wouldn't say we would use it again.
Awful courtyard room with a boiler outside that's wakes u up at 5am. Very disappointed Lovely spa and pool. Food overpriced for what it is. Was really looking forward to going to this place as looks lovely online but sadly for us was terrible
It is a Best Western so you expect good quality yes? It was quite nice with lovely pool (unexpected so did not use this occasion). Was placed in a courtyard room as I think they was busy. It was okay but I think other rooms is better. Good filling buffet breakfast - not the freshest but good quantity. Staffs were very lovely and help me with directions. Would stay again.
If you wait and decide to have it in the morning, you will be charged £2.50 per person extra. We were not told this until we paid on leaving. Staff were very nice, friendly and professional. The courtyard room though dark and not much of a view(the row of courtyard flats opposite) was very clean as was the bedlinen/ towels and serviced very well. It had a room safe, and a decent size TV, good wifi. The external doors to the courtyard rooms bang shut which can be heard as neighbours come and go day/night Breakfast was self service- good array of food and the cooked food (fried egg, scrambled egg, bacon, sausages(?), tomatoes, mushrooms) are kept warm in bain- maries carvery style. Cereals, bread and toaster, pastries and fresh fruit and fruit juices. Fresh tea/coffee served by waiter/waitress £12.50( or £15 per person) The Farmers Arms was a very handy restaurant about fifty foot from our door and the food we had was delicious and reasonably priced. You can order food from the bar and eat it in the bar area( a bit dark)or go through to the waiter/ess served restaurant.
Wonderful Wedding reception experience, Hotel and Staff executed exactly what the Bride and her parents requested. 100% perfection, a never to be forgotten experience, Congratulations to the Management and Staff for their professional service.
Spent 2 nights here with husband and grandchildren, can't fault anything breakfast great, service great ,nice and clean, comfortable beds. Only comment I would like to make is the hotel could cater for younger children a bit more with perhaps a playground or some garden toys on the lawn.there were quite a few children staying due to it being half term so it would have been nice to have a bit more for the children to do. The outside area from the restaurant could have been a bit more inviting with tables wiped down and the parasols put up first thing,we and other people were drinking tea and coffee out there after eating breakfast so it wasn't as if there were no customers around. All in All a good place
Stayed here with family for 2 nights. This is a lovely hotel with spa and swimming pool. Excellent staff with a can do attitude. Comfortable and spacious bed room with roomy en-suite. It was very warm when we stayed and with having no air-conditioning the bedrooms and public rooms became a little uncomfortable at times although there was a fan provided in each room. Excellent food but a little on the expensive side.
Lovely breakfast and very friendly staff member Lucy Wratten couldn't have done more for us! Excellent service and we'll certainly be staying again, thank you. Hotel has a good location, very handy for getting about Norfolk and especially close to Sandringham/Hunstanton. Highly recommend!

Thank you for taking the time to share you recent experience. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
We were in the area for a funeral and have stayed here before so knew it was a good place to place However this time they were outstanding. It may be considered a bit expensive in the past but this visit was very good value for money. We had an executive room and last minute booked a standard room for my daughter which the lovely Carla upgraded so that my daughter could be next door to us. The hotel is a spacious, modern 4 star hotel right near a large roundabout and well located for exploring west and north Norfolk. Close to Sandringham, and Kings Lynn plus beaches near by to. Our room opened up onto the hotel garden on the first floor. The room was large with good size free view TV, writing desk plus four large chairs and a table to go with a super king bed. Good size bathroom and deep / wide bath plus a Tea making station. You can eat in the hotels restaurant or use the country style pub which seems well used. The Staff were exception and by far the best I've come across they were all really helpful and friendly. (Carla being the shining light) There is a Spa (inclusive) and gym. The Spa is a bit average and would be to small if the hotel was full / being used by too many non hotel guest. Stream room a bit naff but the dry sauna good. Side walkway a bit narrow. Car Park bigger than last visited having converted a tennis court for cars. Seems to be a good venue to hold wedding receptions
A spacious, modern 4 star hotel with clean, well equipped and exceptionally spacious rooms with all usual amenities. Well located for exploring west and north Norfolk. Minutes from Sandringham, Hunstanton and Kings Lynn. Our room (with balcony) was on the first floor (no lift) but no problem. Nice rural views. A Choice of restaurants, formal or country pub style. Staff without exception really helpful and friendly. Fellow guests appeared a mixture of leisure and business people. Civilized atmosphere. On site Spa and (inclusive) gym.
Stayed 1 night at The Best Western Kings Lynn Knights Hill Hotel and Spa. Excellent hotel with lovely facilities. Great location close to Sandringham House and for visiting the coast. Large bedroom and bathroom and very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!!
Stayed for just one night in a standard room, the room amenities were as good as I have recently encountered - particularly for a 4* hotel - they still provide decent biscuits, a good variety of teas, and enough milk (all increasingly rare) The bed was comfortable with enough pillows etc. The bathroom was fine if a bit outdated, and even though it's probably due an update it was very clean with no mouldy grout! - Good sized towels too. Breakfast was very good, with a good choice, the staff were particularly helpful, and the hot food on the buffet was replaced as soon as the platters started to run low, even though the restaurant was very busy. Tables were cleared and reset incredibly quickly- again something that is so often lacking. Pepper grinders on the breakfast tables would be something to consider. Didn't get a chance to use the Spa facilities. The gardens were well kept, and there is a lot of car parking. All in all much better than the 4* Novatel we stayed in last week! - and cheaper!
A large, modern, low-rise hotel, located near the junction of two busy roads. But do not be put off by its somewhat unprepossessing appearance. The rooms are capacious and provide almost everything you could wish for - with comfortable beds and quality linen. Our group had two excellent dinners, and the members of staff were always cheerful and helpful. For us at any rate, the rates were most generous, and we would recommend the hotel highly.
Stayed with a group of friends. Good location for visiting Kings Lynn and Sandringham. Good well appointed rooms. We had a problem with the shower in our room and although Maintenance did not confirm this, we were allocated a different room without a fuss,as we were not satisfied. Breakfasts were adequate and the dinner that we had on the first night was very good. All staff were friendly and helpful. Good lounge facilities- a very pleasant environment in which to stay.
I took a party of 33 including myself and all were complimentary of the hotel, the service and food. Furthermore the facilities, swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. If there was a slight flaw, the menus for our group were headed coach party and we all came in our own cars, so certainly were not a coach party.
Stayed her for two nights, Fri 21st and Sat 22nd April. From the very first the staff and management were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and every endeavour was made to make our stay as smooth running as possible. We had a birthday party on the Friday night, as well as a wedding, not once did any of the staff default or ignore any of our wishes. They were fabulous. The breakfast was hot and fresh, and actually kept me full all day long. The farmers arms pub which is attached to the hotel was welcoming and had a great atmosphere. One complaint! Please make your food portions smaller, I could only eat half of my delicious burger, was nearly in tears leaving it!! Our room was amazing, very comfortable and spacious. We will definately stay here again when we are in the area. Nick Searle, your help was very much appreciated.
We did a Spa package for two including the hammam mud chamber - the Spa was clean, the steam rooms were working well and the swimming pool is a good size considering it's a hotel. Very good value for money.
The staff were all polite and helpful. Our twin room was excellent - very quiet, spacious, clean and well equipped. Both the room where the wedding ceremony took place and the large reception area were attractive and well set out. Catering for the wedding reception was superb. The gardens were well cared for and delightful. Breakfast was very good and varied. There is nothing about this hotel that I did not like!
Excellent staff and good rooms. Probably the most comfortable Best Western Hotels we have stayed in. Location appears at first to be on busy traffic junction, but hotel is quite secluded with very nice gardens and views.
We have used this hotel on a number of occasions and would use again. The layout gives a number of options. The rooms overlooking the garden all have terraces or balconies. Although they are not particularly private as most are overlooked they do give a feeling of more space and it's relaxing to have the doors open and watch the wildlife. They have a small gym on-site and a really nice size swimming pool and also a jacuzzi. They have other spa facilities but we have not used them as to me they were on the more expensive side. The food is good in both the restaurant and pub but we found that although the service was attentive in the restaurant it was poor in the pub dining. The layout does mean there can be a trek to some rooms, shortcuts often mean going outside across the courtyards. I you have mobility problems I'd suggest you make them aware upfront.
Excellent hotel, stayed for a number of weeks for work in an executive twin room. Staff very polite, Ellie Neale and Joe Saunders certainly went the extra mile as they made me feel welcome with great conversation and lovely biscuits... Ellie is vibrant and always has time to chat, she is a role model for all FOH staff! Breakfast very nice, good selection and a warm welcome every morning. Gym facilities good, swimming pool can be very busy but is nice.
Excellent stay, great location for main routes.Room clean, quiet with all facilities tea/coffee making, safe toiletries.Comfortable bed, great shower, warm room, adjustable windows. Breakfast excellent on Sunday morning.Staff friendly and helpful. Caught up in lounge area with wedding guests pre leaving, staff made it easy for us to be comfortable and enjoy coffee and biscuits. Thank You.We would not hesitate to return and will recommend to friends.
Had afternoon tea yesterday , late Mother's Day treat from my daughter, it was really lovely, nice selection of sanwiches and a lovely warm scone with clotted cream and jam, and the desserts were fantastic lovely selection, couldn't eat it all had to take a slice home. Will be back.
This is my third time staying here over the last three years and as always everything was perfect for our needs. Free wifi, lovely room, great staff, free parking and spa. We made the most of the carvery lunch on Sunday at the pub and had a snack in the hotel bar in the evening with breakfast in the morning... all good. Looking forward to next year's stay :)
We went with my mother for a meal. Didn't book but was able to sit in the bar and have a meal. Food was lovely, staff were attentive and polite. We had a 50% off voucher so the price was good too. This was our third visit in recent wks and I must say the food was really good each visit. We will definitely go again .
Me and two of my friends went to the spa today as a birthday treat. We really enjoyed the fire and ice room and the jacuzzi was lovely. We had 2 treatments, the first was a back mud wrap with a head massage and the second a facial. The young girl that did mine (forgot her name but she was from wisbech ) was absolutely brilliant! Made my skin so soft and the massage was out of this world! The place was very clean and relaxing. We tried the herbal teas but they arnt really my thing so I chose the ice water instead. The only reason I gave a 4/5 was that the robes they give you are very old and tired, certainly not fluffy, was actually rough and quite uncomfortable. Also the young girl who took us through offered to show us round, didn't explain anything at all, just said that's in there etc then walked off. We came midweek during the easter holidays, unfortunately we didn't realise that lots of children would be there. We are all mothers that were looking for a child free day, unfortunately there was lots of screaming children all splashing in the pool so really didn't use the pool much. But all in all it was a fantastic day and will certainly go again.
Had a lovely weekend at this hotel, lovely room, really good size, and very clean. Brilliant spa facilities and a great place to access the north Norfolk coast from. Staff couldn't be more helpful and breakfast great.
Old bungalow-style chalet rooms have draughty windows and are cold. They are also noisy, and close to car park and both main roads. Insist on a room in the main building if you can. Dining room is ok, and staff at least speak English, which is a rarity these days!
Lovely room overlooking a patio and grass on the far side. Floor to ceiling glass doors along one wall gave everything a relaxing feeling to a busy few days. Breakfast was full of excellent options, and the fresh fruit salad was a pleasant treat. Staff helpful and keen Free Use of the gym as part of my stay was a stay was a pleasant change too. Well appointed, though the pool was understandably full
Booked in for one night in conjunction with a function being held in one of the conference barns. It gave us the opportunity to use the spa facilities which were included in the room. Usual pool, steam room and sauna which were in reasonable condition. There is limited seating within the pool area but didn't cause any problems. The room was very well decorated and very clean. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. The function room was also really good and large enough for approx 200 people, buffet sufficient and plentiful. Overall really enjoyed stay and can see that this hotel would be an excellent base for north Norfolk, Sandringham and Hunstanton.
Our 2nd visit to Knights Hill Hotel, excellent, lovely room. The leisure facilities are superb as is the breakfast. The staff are so polite and helpful. Pub onsite and lovely gardens. See you all again. Thank you.
First stay at this Hotel. Through upgrade we had a lovely room - huge with nice terrace onto garden. Room very quiet being at the back. Food excellent in both the Garden Restaurant and Pub. Staff very friendly. Only down side is the Spa. This needs a complete refurbishment. It was frankly dirty. Also the Games Cupboard in hotel needs sorting - filthy and only 2 games with bits missing.
A tired hotel that is crying out for investment. Restaurant expensive for average food and the décor is very 1970's. The staff are polite without being exceptional. We were staying on Tesco vouchers so were not spending our hard-earned cash, if we were then we would have been disappointed.
Great hotel, great welcome from reception staff very helpful. Room was a good size double and ensuite, very clean, farmers arms Inn great place to eat, food excellent portions and tasty. Breakfast in the morning at the hotel good selection and friendly staff. Will be going back soon to have a spa day.
We booked rooms for a Family re-union/get together at this Hotel. From past experience, we knew it as a good place to stay; very well situated for travel around the North Norfolk area. probably the cleanest bedrooms and bathrooms of any Hotel we've stayed at. In general a lovely place with excellent Staff. First class Swimming Pool and associated facilities. Unfortunately, the usual slip-ups marred a great stay. 'Kettling' and banging from the radiator in our bedroom, reported it but nothing happened as far as I know. Mentioned foodscraps on the restaurant floor after they'd been there 24hrs... So better inter-staff communication is needed, maybe a fault logging system that feeds straight to Maintenance and Housekeeping staff? All in all a great place to stay, expensive food in adjoining 'Pub' but locals obviously accept them.
I stayed here for one night on business in the area. The hotel is an old building with more recent extensions. Layout, furnishings and decor in the public area and rooms is really quite dated and could do with modernisation. Despite that, it was clean and comfortable and I slept very well. Breakfast was excellent.
Really lovely hotel! The staff were all very accommodating and, although running around for a while trying to put into place the very clear instructions of the married couple, (which had been given to staff and organisers well in advance), everything finally came together beautifully. The food was deliciously succulent and great fun was had by all. The evening supper of roast hog went down a treat!! The reception hall looked amazing - a must to see - fabulous room for holding special events. Outstanding help by the young gentleman on reception, who did his utmost to please and sorted all queries and requests within minutes. Rooms were fabulous in a slightly old fashioned way - which made it all the more personal! Definitely worth more visits!!
Stayed at Knights Hill for one night. The room was not overpriced, The bedroom with en suite was ok, if not slightly cluttered. Moreover, the decor and furniture was tired and dated. The staff were helpful.
A decent enough hotel for a short stay, with a nice swimming pool and not too far (by car) from Hunstanton. Not a lot to do nearby, but there are a couple of eating options, the best by far being the restaurant within the hotel itself. Despite having all the atmosphere of a retirement home, the food was really good (much better than the pub that's on site). Rooms were a little on the shabby side but perfectly acceptable, and in the main hotel you're somewhat protected from noise from any functions.
Our room was perfectly adequate but breakfast was far too expensive for such a basic offering with fruit salad which had obviously been hanging around overnight. We had dinner in their pub restaurant where the service was excellent even if the food was adequate but basic.
Stayed here quite a few times with the company. The hotel is very friendly and welcoming. The gym and spa clean, with good kit and never over busy which helps, the opening times are generous too allowing an early morning or evening work out or swim. The hotel rooms are always very comfy most have lovely views of the surrounding rolling countryside and are all on the ground or first floor. Breakfast is very good and the hotel has several diner choices in the evening including a pub on site over the courtyard. Staff on reception are amazing and very helpful and cheery, solving problems and helping straight away, especially Ellie N. who was very helpful at sorting a room change and a laundry dilemma I had. The staff on reception are all so helpful. Looking forward to a return here soon.
Lovely hotel. Booked for 2 nights and extended it to 3 nights. We had our room upgraded when we arrived to one of the rooms with a patio. Staff were fantastic (I had asked for flowers to be delivered to the room before we arrived and they arranged this for me) Had dinner in the farmers arms (on site pub) and in the hotel restaurant both very good. Used the spa and paid extra for access into the spa areas not included- good but slightly run down but the spa isn't run by the hotel Looking to book again soon.
staff were really friendly and helpful. welcomed us on arrival and gave us tips on places to visit in the area. room was big (room 162) bit outdated and the bathroom definitely needed updating but was very clean and had t.v. and tea, coffee facilities. use of the pool which was lovely and warm and very clean and the Jacuzzi which was great and a bonus as didn't see when I booked. The hotel is on the outskirts of kings lynn and very close to castle rising, a fairly quiet location although I can imagine that when weddings and events are on it can be busy and fairly noisey, but we had no problems, the room was nice and quiet with no noise in the two nights we were there. slept really well both nights.
Fabulous Staff were very accommodating Big thanks to tanya Scott Walpole for her kind help and guidance xx Thoroughly pleased with service all rnd nothing was too much trouble Very happy customers Mr & mrs tracey & gary sandercock ?
Stayed there for two nights. Room ok but needed a good leaning as for the bathroom that was in need of a deep clean bathroom. Had afternoon tea witch was terrible as was the breakfast. Extremely over priced and over rated
We have stated here several times before and stayed here for 2 nights in September to celebrate our wedding anniversary and what a lovely relaxing weekend it was. The room was huge and nicely decorated and the bed was massive and extremely comfortable. The hotel staff were helpful and welcoming. We ate both nights in the Farmers Arms pub and found the food very tasty and again the staff were very helpful. The spa was good and the massages we had were great! Having stayed here after our wedding more than 20 years ago, it's lovely to come back from time to time and find it as welcoming as it was back then. Ideally placed to visit many attractions in the area too.
A bit concerned when we arrived as near a busy road but we couldn't hear it from the bedroom - with windows closed. Very pleasant stay. Delicious dinner. There is a pool and gym. A little crowded as not only used by hotel guests. Excellent value as used Tesco vouchers towards the cost. Very useful location for visiting North Norfolk.
Stayed overnight as attending a wedding nearby. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Room overlooking pretty gardens was comfortably furnished though Pillows on bed a bit on the hard side. Had a sandwich lunch in the lounge whilst awaiting room availability. I have to say it took an eternity to arrive and bread was rather dry but as we only wanted a quick snack we did not complain and put up with it. felt if we had asked to have them replaced we could have missed the wedding!!!!! Breakfast was usual buffet but pleasant enough.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and rate it as one of our favourites. The rooms are excellent and the staff are always helpful. There is also a pub attached to and owned by the hotel with good pub food. This is in addition to the Hotel restaurant so plenty of options for eating without having to drive. The location is good for surrounding places to visit such as the estates of Sandringham, Holkam and Houghton and of course the north Norfolk coast.
We stayed at the hotel as part of a party of 10 of us, having 5 rooms to go to a ball at Sandringham Estate. The same evening (24th) a wedding was booked so the hotel was full and bar could not be used. There is a lovely pub right next door so all was good. Rooms were very good, the ground floor rooms round the garden are lovely, large and spacious with balconys and lovely views. Unfortunately we had no time to use the spa and pool but it looked great. Breakfast was a little busy with the wedding party, so obviously not the norm, but food was plenty and a great selection for anybody's breakfast menu. Staff were friendly and helpful, all in all I would definitely come back again.
We have just experienced an excellent one night stay. This was the first time we have used a Best Western Hotel and will certainly use one again. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was everything you could ask for. The spa facilities were nice.
Visited here on a busy Saturday night. Sign indicated 45 minute wait for food, but I think it was quicker than that. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food is as you would expect, basic food, mass produced and heated up. But if you are getting 50% off can you really moan. NO. Will visit again.
Excellent lovely hotel, we love staying here. It's always clean and welcoming. Staff are helpful and approachable, professional and polite. The gardens are nice and it's nice to sit outside in the sun with a latte and a cake!
I have stayed here several times for business each time the rooms have been clean and comfortable, the staff are great and I have no complaints about the food. The adjacent pub is also ok with friendly staff and good quality food. Probably one of the better Best Westerns in the country in my opinion.
Husband & I had a rare day off together, so booked into the Knights Hill Hotel. We were really lucky & had our room upgraded...it was gorgeous. We also used the spa which made our stay the relaxing time together we wanted. Our meal in restaurant that evening also lovely. Staff helpful, friendly & polite. Will definitely go again.
We stayed at this Hotel for the first time recently, and on arrival certainly had a wow factor. I have stayed at many hotels over the years both on Business and family, and must say that this ranks amongst the top few. We booked an executive room, which cost a little more, but well worth it. Our bedroom was large with ample space including a small side area, a cupboard, with an electronic safe, and tea making facilities. There was a large TV and free Wi-Fi. Our bedroom was on the 1st floor which had a good size balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Norfolk Countryside. It was very well decorated throughout, and gave the impression that the whole place was recently newly built. We did not have an evening meal in the Restaurant but did enjoy a great breakfast, although the cost was £15 per person. Again the views from the restaurant were lovely. There was also a fitness area, with Swimming pool and hot tub, but unfortunately this time we did not have time to indulge! . There are other eating options the site. The only observation is that there is not a lift to the 1st floor, so if you are wheelchair bound or have difficulty with stairs, make sure you book ground floor rooms. For us the Hotel was ‘one of the best' and now looking for an excuse to stay again!.
Last week I went with a group of 40 to The Knight's Hill Hotel. I enjoyed every minute of it and my stay in the hotel couldn't have been more comfortable. The bedrooms were roomy and bright, the food was delicious, the facilities were excellent but most of all the staff were lovely - kind, co-operative, helpful and always cheerful. I'd like to make special mention of some of the dining-room staff: Cameron, Cat, Vicky, Jordon and Megan and also of the reception staff, particularly Ellie and a young, blonde, male receptionist whose name I forget.
The garden room we were given was absolutely beautiful. Extremely comfy twin beds, spacious bathroom and lounge around. The room itself is in need of a little revamp. That being said the room was spotless and the cleaning staff were incredibly polite! This is where the positives end. The food was absolutely vile! We started off on our first night with slow service, cold food and a waitress who couldn't be bothered to work. I ordered the Pork Belly - it lacked the main ingredient.. The Pork meat! It was a huge lump of fat. The potato reminded me on cold school dinner mash. Just to add a little extra the vegetable accompaniment for the dish was.. HALF A CARROT! (Not chopped..) We thought they may have just been having a bad night as they informed us they were low on staff when we complained. We decided to have room service for breakfast the next morning. It was much worse. Ice cold! A bit of advice - the room is fantastic but eat at "The Deers Leap" about a mile down the road. Fantastic staff and amazing food. Great prices!
Back at the lovely Knights hill hotel again after not being able to stay last time as it was full - often is. I have stayed at this hotel over 60 times during the past 8 years and never once had an issue. Such a great hotel with the best staff, food, service and even wildlife in the gardens - hedgehogs, ducks, rabbits, swallows etc. Am so very happy to be here again. It is one of the very few hotels you can truly call home from home. Would not justify putting photographs in as the hotel website shows in detail the hotel, gardens and facilities.
The hotel is well located with good on site facilities - this is my second overnight stop and I shall certainly call again when next over there. The on site 'pub' is a welcome alternative to eating in the restaurant and has a good selection of drinks and food at reasonable prices.
Great hotel ,food and service. Food was a bit pricey but excellent quality. location in the area was great and would happily stay again. my only one issue I had was the comfort of the bed was a bit hard for my liking but that purely a personal preference.
We had a family weekend and booked 4 rooms plus a table for 15 in the restaurant. I cannot fault the staff and their service, especially Cameron in the restaurant! The food was absolutely beautiful and we were made to feel very special with a separate room just off the restaurant. The courtyard rooms were very comfortable and as a large group we were all together in a block which was lovely. I would thoroughly recommended this hotel to anyone, but for large groups it is fab!
We were on a coach trip organised by our Garden Center which took in trips to Southwold Cromer, Sandringham and Aldenburgh. We were based at Knights Hill Hotel for two nights. Regrettably the weather was hot so we did not have a really good first night and needed the fan on all night. The room was adequate and very clean. The staff in the dining room really efficient and there was one young woman who went above the call of duty in helping me. The breakfasts were well catered for and again the staff very helpful and efficient.
Have stayed here several times now and would highly recommend. Rooms are always fresh and clean and the bed on our last visit was so comfy. We arrived very late and the 2 night porters were lovely looking after us. Bathroom was clean and spacious with a fantastic shower. Breakfast was excellent both mornings very fresh and plentiful. Only managed to eat here one night in the farmers arms and again very enjoyable. We always look forward to our stay here as we have family nearby and this hotel is in the ideal spot for visiting them. Hope to visit again soon!
We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a spacious comfortable room away from the hub of the hotel as requested. Breakfasts were children friendly, very helpful staff, with a good selection of food for all ages. The pool and hot tub was enjoyed by all ... a definite plus. Hotel is a few minutes away from Sandringham and with the Norfolk coastline a liitle further, we didnt take long to reach other places of interest
A very comfortable, clean and accommodating hotel. Excellent breakfast. Good car parking. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended. It's location is ideally situated to visit the historic town of Kings Lynn, The Royal Home, gardens and church at Sandringham and the beautiful north Norfolk coast and villages.
Just got back from a two night break We had a lovely stay in a very clean hotel the room we stayed in had just be completely refurbished the breakfast was the best we have had for a long time the staff were very nice and friendly. We will be going back again. Thank you all at Knight's Hill Kings Lynn.
Stayed at the Knights Hill every year for the past 5 years for a summer break. Hotel is comfortable, offers a high standard of rooms with views over the gardens and choice of pub food or first class dining room. Staff are so friendly and really work hard to give guests a great experience.
Perhaps I expected more from the venue of princess Diana's hen party. It's a little tired sadly but comfortable. The staff didn't seem particularly happy either but they were pleasant enough. We were in an outside room, looking a little 'Butlins chalet' from the outside sadly which spoilt my impression and experience of the place really which I thought was a Georgian Manor House only hotel. However once inside the room it was like any other 3- 4 star hotel room. Functional. But very clean at least. The attached pub .... Well. Don't even go there. Tired and run down- with tables still covered in dirty plates and glasses even though the place was practically empty. When asking for a clean glass (mine was crusted in ?old food) the smile of the bar server soon disappeared and went sour. I did not complain at all, just asked for a clean glass! However the saving grace... The a la carte menu within the hotel - which was excellent and definitely prepared by a chef who knows his quality produce and how to cook it superbly well. Well Worth the money. If the restaurant was a little more intimate to match the food and the views I'm sure it would draw more than the few diners that we saw. On the whole disappointed sadly.
Pricey for basic food. Two fishcakes, chips and tiny undressed salad for £11. Lighting inside the bar area where we had our meal was so dim I could hardly read the menu. Definitely not a gastro pub. Would hesitate to go again. The whole bar/restaurant area could do with refurbishment, its dark furniture and dull carpeting should be updated and better lighting installed. It could look so much more attractive with a little thought.
Stayed here several times in the past both pleasure and business, good location for exploring the North Norfolk coastal towns and villages with Sandringham and Holkham Hall nearby. Facilities include spa, gym and onsite pub as well as the hotel bar & restaurant. Good parking and nearby supermarket with filling station. We stayed for 3 nights in a premium room with balcony overlooking the gardens, or with small patio at ground floor level, these rooms recommended. We had Sunday lunch in the main restaurant, food & service good but décor needs updating and the plastic topiary dumped. A great pub restaurant is the Orange Tree Inn just up the coast, a bit pricey but quality and award winning. On this visit we did experience some annoying minor issues with the hotels systems, the balcony had not been cleaned and promises to sort it didn't happen, our confirmed rate included breakfast but Reception records didn't, and our newspaper orders were wrong. I hope this was just a blip but management need to ensure attention to detail is maintained. So normally a good mid range hotel and cheaper than some of the boutique places that have sprung up in the area, but there is strong competition if standards are allowed to slip.
Could not fault the room as clean and spacious. The meal in the dining room was good and service was excellent. Service in the pub next door was slow and staff seem inexperienced. We booked this hotel partly for the spa facilities as they looked great on-line. Was very disappointed with the swimming pool and specially the changing rooms. Dirty, grubby, badly in need of decoration, steam room with no steam and what made it worse the girls on reception were obviously not busy but did not make time to clean the changing rooms and pool areas from hair and smelly old towels. They had time to chat amongst themselves though !! Pool area dark and in need of more light as dingy. Main reception area bit dated and in need of refurb
This place is in need of redecoration, refurbishment and retraining. Was here on a sunday for a spa and afternoon tea package. The spa looks old and tired and the hairdryers are pretty useless! Our mud serail treatement was far too hot, felt like our noses and eyes were burning. Afternoon tea was served in the hotel which looks again tired, dirty and old! We were served soggy sandwiches and the young staff in there were openly talking about getting drunk on their nights out and when the phone rang the girl loudly said oh for gods sake. Real shame as could be much better.
We stayed at this hotel for a weekend and we would recommend it to other travellers who don't mind staying out of town. The hotel is situated on a main road north of Kings Lynn and as such is not convenient for the town nor is it within walking distance to anything really. However, pretty much everything about the hotel is very good or excellent. Our accommodation was spacious and surprisingly quiet, given the closeness of the hotel to the main road. We did not notice any traffic noise during the night, even though we had the windows open. The staff were all very friendly attentive and efficient, We had dinner there for two nights an were very pleased with the quality of the food. The dining room has good views over the Wash to Lincolnshire and the grounds are very well maintained. The hotel gym is very well equipped and there is a pool although we did not use it. we would stay in this hotel againm if we were in the area
I stayed here as the final part of my visit to Norfolk - after staying in a quaint cottage in Blakeney , we opted for the 1 night stop over after we went to Sandringham House. The room was a good size and they accommodated 2 adults and 2 kids. However, it is dated and windows are old and paintwork dried, peeling and cracked. The worst thing was the slug trail I found next to and under my bed as I went to sleep. I didn't dare say anything as it would alarm my wife and kids. Not acceptable in a hotel. The swimming times are rubbish. On arrival we were delayed due to traffic. We fed the kids in a pub across the road as the hotel does not allow guests to eat in their restaurant until 6.30pm. When we went to the pool for a very quick splash with the kids who were already in their swimming costumes, at 5.50pm they denied entry even for 10 mins for my children. I was absolutely shocked with the guy at the desk. Who point blank would not allow my kids a quick dip. There were other children in the pool already. On complaining- the hotel manager said their insurance does not allow children to swim after 6pm. It was summer and we had nothing at the hotel to entertain the kids- it's not child friendly at all - In fact the hotel was dead. No atmosphere and boring for adults as well as kids. The bar didn't have a cocktail menu and did not serve non- alcoholic cocktails. Only bears wines and spirits- poor show. It's s shame as I chose this hotel for its pool and the good reviews. I don't think it deserves the rating it has.
Great place to cities, next to the Health Spa. Carvery is excellent in addition to a menu of grills, salads and chicken dishes. On the main road it's also a hotel with plenty of parking. Book to avoid disappointment though as it's often used by customers as a meeting place for people attending the local Crematorium. Also it has a Spa and pool next to it in addition to sleeping facilities.
I say its very good because of the price we paid. For other people who would expect more for the money, they may not be so pleased. The best thing was, the place was exceptionally clean. Staff were always around to help. They seemed to be having a few problems with internet service and clean towels but this did not stop them from providing a good service. The swimming pool was well equipped and again, very clean. We stayed in a room near the restaurant / bar area but other guests and staff were very mindful of others staying in the hotel and this did not stop us from getting a good night's sleep. The outside bar area was very pleasant and well maintained. Excellent place to stay on a stop over.
Here for an afternoon conference. had lunch of a quality more akin to a poorly run staff canteen than a hotel. It was poorly presented and lacked any taste and finesse. The whole place is furnished with a lack of style, littered with cheap 70s furniture and especially in our conference room grubby around the edges. Our table cloths were stained by an earlier meeting and if the cleaners care to look up to the ceiling they will see debris dripping down from above the table by the door. The room (little barn) has no air/con so the doors on a very warm day had to be propped open, so we had to contend with road noise from the adjacent Kings Lynn bypass. The coffee served was luke warm and of the poorest quality you could imagine. The disabled toilet was locked so that anyone disabled had to wheel themselves back to the reception in another building and request a key. This is unacceptable and the Management should know better than to discriminate in this way. This hotel I believe is part of a group owned by a non resident American and supervised by a manager 25 miles away in an office in Swaffham. The Ancient Mariner in Old Hunstanton is under the same ownership and suffers from the same lack of style, quality and hotel/pub management skills. Unlike the Ancient Mariner this hotel has very friendly staff.
I am absolutely appalled at the treatment I have received this evening by The Best Western Knights Hill Hotel Kings Lynn Norfolk. This booking was made over a week ago and I arrived at the hotel at 8pm to be told there was no accommodation for me and redirected to an inferior hotel with no facilities, bar or food available. I had telephoned the hotel in advance to advise I would be arriving late and check dinner would be available. No one from the hotel contacted me in advance to warn me of the problem. As a woman travelling on her own security is of the upmost importance. I deliberately booked a hotel with full facilities so I would not have to leave the premises for anything and to be prepared for an important presentation at QEKL Hospital tomorrow, I am appalled a room could not be found for me. I am even more appalled that whilst I was being given my alternative hotel details a single man arrived and checked into the hotel. When I questioned this I was fobbed off with excuses of a large party causing an overbooking. This is totally unacceptable. I request a full investigation into this matter and appropriate compensation for the disgraceful way I have been treated.
Just return from a spa break. Hotel was lovely, large bedroom with a good shower. Had a good nights sleep. The full breakfast was a good start to the day. The spa was first class with excellent staff, who were helpful and happy to help. Overall a lovely break.
We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our anniversary celebrations, the hotel is lovely and what I call oldy woldy which I love. It still carries features from before it baca me a hotel, we had a master room with a patio that looked out onto the walled gardens. The rooms are massive we was really surprised by their size. The spa and pool area was lovely and the girls in the spa were really friendly and we had some lovely treatments
I was very pleased to have a clean simply furnished room which was clean and reasonably recently decorated. A little tired. Would ask for same room again, but with softer pillows.Three nights would be enough I think, but great for a stop over. Breakfast was excellent.
Some 4 miles outside King's Lynn, set in a lovely location with beautiful gardens this is an ideal location for exploring the area, The hotel lies in extensive grounds, the rooms are comfortable (ours was on the ground floor, looking over the gardens), the staff are all friendly, yet professional and knowledgeable, breakfast offers a multitude of choices, and dinner is excellent. All together well worth a stay for something just a little bit special.
Went for a girlie stay at the hotel and we had breakfast delivered to our room. It was very very nice with good quality products. We ticked pretty much all the choices on the card and were pleasantly surprised to have it all delivered to our room the next morning. My friend and I were very impressed with their breakfast and look forward to going for our next jaunt.
Beautiful hotel very comfy rooms and spacious with everything you need thanking Kellie neale Victoria Smith and Susie Smith on reception and Stacey green Stacey ansell groves and Lauren George in the barn first class service ladies!! Breakfast was gorgeous and lots of it food inborn was varied but lovely our room looked over garden beautiful grounds
Normally stay at the Dukes Head in the city centre. Wanted to stretch the wallet and try this place. Nice tentative staff and great surroundings. The room was great with a great view and spacious. Actually they changed my room from ground floor to upper floor which was lovely. The bed so comfy. It probably been the best bed I've slept on as they have the thickest mattress cover ever felt. The gym is well equipped and does what it should do, to work out. Wish I used the swimming pool but forgot my swimwear. Didnt really eat at the hotel as I went into the city for a walk and ate at pizza express. Will come hear again.
Lovely hotel beautiful grounds, reception staff very friendly and polite. Rooms spacious with everything u need shower gels to shampoo and conditioner.. Hairdryer iron and ironing board. Facilities to make yourself a drink.. Plenty of seating in the rooms too. Wifi code is given with the key. All very clean and to a high standard.. Lovely gardens which ground floor rooms have doors opening and table and chairs for you to relax. Hotel is very clean and tidy. Breakfast is fab plenty of variety to choose from. From full cooked English or yoghurt and fruit, pastries .. Fresh juice tea and coffee. Overall fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Back again still as good, staff very nice lovely big room looking over the garden, very peaceful. Breakfast buffet style nice variety and plenty. We used the farmers arms for evening meals busy but nice food and reasonable priced. I used the swimming pool after we had been out for the day which is relaxing. we like the position of the hotel we can get to different places easy sandringham is not far away nice for a walk in the grounds and woods.
Our visit to this hotel was amazing, the staff were wonderful and helpful and friendly. A young called Cameron who works there was very friendly and helpful and made every effort to ensure we were taken care of. As a result of this great service we will return and highly recommend to our family and friends.
We booked one night on a bed & breakfast summer deal. The hotel is easy to find just, next to the Knights Hill roundabout. There is ample parking in front of the converted farmhouse. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who gave us relevant information about dining times, use of the internet, pool & gym. Our room on the ground floor gave us a view of the well-kept walled garden. Facilities in the traditionally decorated room were: T.V. with all of the Freeview channels; kettle with 5 types of tea; coffee; chocolate; biscuits; a safe; a fan; an iron & ironing board. We made use of the complimentary swimming pool, Jacuzzi & sauna, in a separate building next to the hotel (there is also a steam room and gym). The changing rooms are large, with lockers (£1 refundable) and 3 showers with shower gel in dispensers. Towels are provided free of charge. We had a good night's sleep in comfortable beds, and did not hear any noise from the roads nearby. The breakfast buffet was in the Brasserie overlooking the walled garden. We were shown to a table set for 2 and asked if we wanted tea or coffee. There was a good variety of tasty food, the cooked food was nice and hot. All of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful and I would highly recommend a relaxing stay at this hotel.
On arrival this hotel was not as expected, the website does not do it justice. On arrival, staff are real friendly and dealt with us like true professionals. The hotel is well situated, we had business in Wells on Sea. And we added a couple of days as a short break. Room lovely and clean, nice and quiet on the 1st floor. We had room service which we had no complaints. Food was good and hot on arrival.
We always enjoy visiting this hotel so near to Sandringham and King's Lynn. It is comfortable, has a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere and a superb swimming pool and facilities. A good choice of food available including the Farmer's Arms and an ideal location to visit local attractions, on this occasion the King's Lynn Festival and Lesley Garrett in concert.
The first thing you notice when entering this hotel is how friendly the staff are. Everyone is enthusiastic & keen to help. We were in one of the superior rooms. It was quite large, well designed with a balcony. It was great to sit & chill watching the rabbits in the grounds. The Farmer's Arms pub was very popular not only with guests but also local people. However the food was not great. We preferred the hotel restaurant which although more expensive was well worth the money. The breakfast was buffet style. Very good choice of menu & the local bacon & sausages were very good indeed. The only criticism I have is that although tea & coffee were provided, if you wanted an expresso, latte or cappuccino you were charged an extra £2.75 which frankly I thought was quite cheeky. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.
The hotel is beautifully situated, the staff friendly and the standard of cuisine we sampled at dinner was excellent. The ground floor rooms can be rather 'public' if care not taken! Some patio doors/windows a bit awkward.
The hotel was beautiful, lots of parking, staff were helpful and professional without being over attentive, the room was very well appointed. The spa was very well staffed, everything was explained about the treatments and the whole experience was excellent.
This was a base for two working days in the area. The hotel was booked in advance. The reception was efficient, and the room well appointed with all the essentials. Two floors in a old farm style building with a long wing. The rooms look out over the flat Norfolk landscape not far from Sandringham. The first evening meal in the 'A la Carte' restaurant was pleasantly served, and the meal well cooked and reasonably priced, with a good wine available. Breakfast next day was a reasonable mix of options of full English or continental. The following evening we had a dinner for 4o in the adjourning Barn which was not particularly special, but convivial. Overall a pleasant stay without anything special to recommend a return.
We have stayed Friday through to Monday and the service was excellent The room was not what we booked and was changed straight away no issues. Very clean room. The breakfast was very good great choice of breakfast hot and cold. All the staff very helpful. Would stay again.
On arrival the hotel didn't seem to bad , the rooms need updating, but are comfortable although my tv didn't work most of the time , the spa is very depressive, and very very basic ,staff were lovely but the surrounds etc need a lot of attention, food was ok but service in the evening was a little slow .
Average room. No air conditioning at all. Room to hot for sleep. Staff helpful and polite. Breakfast poor. Cooked items sit around for a while and are warm to cold when you eat them. Coffee 1 out of ten. The worst coffee ever just like tasteless brown water. Tastes like very cheap instant served in a posh metal coffee pot.
we arrived during an absolute down pour, the staff at reception we great, friendly ,welcoming andso helpful with our luggage. the room was fantastic, the bar staff quick and attentive, our only small problem ,which was the cause of much laughter and much discussion was the cheese and chutney sandwich ordered from room service that arrived with a large portion of mango chutney( for curry ) on it. would gladly recommend this hotel and its wonderful breakfast to anyone
Had our wedding here on the 30th April and it was amazing. All the staff were lovely, the food was amazing! The venue it's self is gorgeous. We had a lot of family who travelled a long way and stayed the weekend at the hotel and they all said how lovely it was. The rooms are lovely. Breakfast or dinner over looking the gardens is beautiful. Only a few minutes drive to sandringham which was lovely for our guests, some of them even got to see the queen drive by on the sandringham estate, which they were over the moon about!! We are so happy we chose knights hill, honestly was a perfect day, thanks to the lovely staff. Thank you.
Stayed here as an attendee at a conference. Comfortable rooms. Quiet and not disturbed by other hotel guests. Huge bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Good selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. Delegate rate was available. Seems to be set in lovely grounds. Nice hotel. No problems.
It was ok but..the weather was hot and the room had no cooling facility. The bath/shower cream dispenser was at standing height and so couldn't be reached from the bath. And at breakfast the staff were business like but not friendly. We were served breakfast with staff that didn't know how to smile. They whip your plate away when you havnt finished and you are seated at tables that you can eat on but have no space for newspapers etc. Breakfast was tasty although black pudding would be nice. Also there is a terrible creaking door going to the kitchen which I sat near. Really annoying. To be fair the bed and pillows made for a comfortable nights sleep but I cannot abide grumpy Solomon staff with no personality. My husband even told them something about his journey and they just ignored this when booking in as if they weren't allowed to converse.
This hotel is really something good - especially as we had the room we had last year (Room 47) which is a King Size room with a adjoining Single only accessed by the main room - perfect for us a family of three adults (me and my semi-retired parents). Room spotless - my single room also spotless, fab modern but traditional main bathroom and shower room (for the single room) - fantastic dual aspect room in the newer part of the hotel. Staff very friendly as last year, breakfast fantastic buffet style which I prefer, and a great pool and hot tub in the leisure centre opposite. This Best Western is still currently joint top with another fab one in Lincoln - so if we did come back to North/West Norfolk again we will certainly stay here again!!!
The reception staff are always very friendly and will do anything to help. The rooms vary from very old, a little dated and looking like new depending on which part of the hotel you stay in. Obviously the newer side is much better. But all rooms seem to be very spacious and clean. In every room there are the facilities to make drinks - coffee, tea, flavoured tea and Cadbury Hot Chocolate and some biscuits to enjoy alongside. Breakfast is very basic, you can have a fry up, toast, mini croissants, yogurts, tinned fruit with apple or orange juice. I haven't tried the pool area but have experienced the very dated gym. The weight section is like entering a museum of antic weights and machines in some bodies converted attic. The pub opposite is erm... Let's say limited. It's worth a trip out to the town for something to eat.
The hotel room was comfy and superb. The food was delicious and abundant. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The prices were very reasonable. The dining room view of the grounds and bounding rabbits was joyful and very calming.
This is the second time I have stayed here and have been happy both times. The first time check in was very efficient, however this time I arrived 15 minutes before official check in. The receptionist didn't even check to see if my room was ready, just told me I would have to sit in the library, so I did then duly waited my turn to check in with the three other people! My room was well maintained but very hot with no fan, although I realise they don't advertise air con so I can't complain, but bear this in mind if you think it might be warm when you stay because it really was unbearable! I attended a meeting in the Great Barn and we were looked after by Stacy Ansall-Groves and Ellia Neale who were very helpfull and attentive, so I thought I would give them a mention - thank you. The following day I used the leisure facilities which were good but busy with the local old folk who all seemed to know each other and have no regard for strangers! Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Very pleasant hotel with nice grounds for a stroll. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable and food was good. Situated a few miles from King's Lynn town centre it is a short and reasonably priced journey by taxi. Saves having to look for and pay for parking. Kings' Lynn museum is worth a visit and lovely walks through the park. A short drive to Hunstanton.
Nice friendly hotel, breakfast average evening meal excellent. Surroundings nature friendly and easy on the eye. Staff helpful and pleasant. Easy to park with easy access to Sandringham Estate and Kings Lynn.
Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, hotel was very comfortable. We upgraded the brides room as a surprise and the reception staff could not have been more helpful. We had room 41which was spotless and surprisingly spacious. We had a family meal in the hotel restaurant on the evening before the wedding and the food was very good. Breakfasts offer a good selection and again was of a good standard. We would not hesitate to return, you know what you get with the Best Western brand and this one certainly lived up to our expectations.
On arriving at Knights Hill I was given a complimentary upgrade to a wonderful room with a balcony over looking views towards Kings Lynn. Room was well equipped and the Pub within the complex offered good traditional dishes. will definitely be staying again
Used this hotel for a weekend break (courtesy of Tesco Reward vouchers) and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of accommodation and friendly courteous staff. It's an ideal location for exploring the surrounding sights - notably Sandringham House which is only 5 minutes away. Excellent breakfasts, and we dined there first evening and found the food was very good, although the restaurant was perhaps lacking a little in atmosphere. I'd certainly recommend for the kind of stay we enjoyed.
Staff were polite, friendly and happy. Our room was fabulous. We had a balcony with lovely views. Maid service everyday. Self service breakfast. Everything you could wish for. We dined in the Brasserie restaurant in the evening and the food was lovely. Nice having the use of the pool. Hotel provide towels and robes. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Great location for exploring/sightseeing. We had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be back.
After the most wonderful morning at the Spa. I decided to bring my mum over for afternoon tea. We upgraded for a glass of prosecco. Sandwich bread was going stale the cakes also. The scones were the best part. Would not go back. For my review of the spa please go to the spa page because it's absolutely AMAZING
We booked this hotel - 2 rooms for ourselves and my daughter & husband for 2 nights. It is set just off a roundabout but you are not aware of any noise from traffic. The rooms were lovely, we had one in the old part of hotel and my daughter had one in the newer part. Both were well decorated and different rather than all being the same. There was tea, coffee & biscuits in the room and also hairdryer and ironing board if you needed it. Plenty of bathroom toiletries including bath crystals. There is a pub in the grounds so we had dinner here the first night, classic meals served at reasonable prices and the next night booked a table in the Hotel restaurant. This is a nice room and service was good, all English speaking staff which makes a change these days. The food was good too. Breakfast is in the restaurant and if weather is good there are tables outside on hte patio. There is fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, bread, buffet cooked breakfast and pastries. The hotel is a short drive from Kings Lynn and about half hour from Hunstanton. Sandringham is nearby too, so plenty of places to visit. My daughter and I also made use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi which was nice at end of a busy day before getting ready for evening meal. We will definitely return and thanks to the staff for bottle of wine left for my daughter for her Birthday.
We had a nice weekend break here. Food was good. Not as much "grounds" as I thought there was gonna be. Staff were friendly and helpful. Within walking distance (1 mile) of Castle Rising (a ruin of a small castle) Bus service goes right outside the hotel and will pull in to pick you up, goes into Kings Lynn.
I visited Knights Hill for my mum's hen party and stayed for one night, the rooms were very nice and staff were all pleasant, the food was lovely, Harriet from the Restaurant was incredibly helpful and made our stay easy and very enjoyable, great service. Definitely recommend the hotel and the spa is lovely also with very nice facilities ??
Lovely hotel, well situated with everything there to make it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Never stayed at a Best Western before and if this is anything to go by, we will definitely do again.
Comfortable, clean well presented hotel and room. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. No air conditioning however individual balcony in which double doors can be opened with privacy and security. Did not use dining facilities or room service so unable to rate these areas. Gym small but adequate, reasonable size indoor pool.
This is a very well appointed hotel in a location convenient for the North West Norfolk coast. Good food, excellent leisure facilities. This is our second stay, we will be back when we can afford it again!
A very handy location just east of Kings Lynn and near to the Sandringham Estate, this combines rooms in the main building with a spa/swimming pool and two ranges of outbuildings housing larger family rooms. For dining there is an on-site pub "The Farmers' Arms" or a more formal restaurant off reception. A very professional check-in and nicely appointed bedrooms and en-suites make this an ideal overnight stop, but a longer stay would be very pleasant as there is lots to see in the area. The hotel rightly prides itself on its lawned grounds with a profusion of shrubs and flowered borders that make for a splendid view from the picture windows of the the bar and restaurant, There is also an adjoining meadow where whole families of wild rabbits chase around, oblivious to the busy A148 that passes by not far away. For the guest too, you could easily imagine you are in the depths of the countryside.
Visited the hotel in connection with our visit to Norfolk. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. Great rooms, good beds, very good breakfast, nice surroundings and friendly staff. We did not try the hotel restaurant, since there was another restaurant next to the hotel which was very nice. The hotel is highly recommended.
Gardens, which I expected to be huge, are nice but very small. Noise from water/boiler pipe in bedroom was not resolved by staff, and was annoying when trying to put my kids to bed! The location is nice, and the rooms in general are not too bad, and quiet from the outside...
Had the pleasure of staying here for two nights recently and just wish it could have been longer. From an efficient and speedy check in to the time we reluctantly took our leave, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We had been upgraded to a superior room that was so huge my wife and I almost had to phone each other to hold a conversation. We spent an hour or so I'm the delightful fitness centre before partaking of a meal in the hotel dining room which was excellent value. My wife had duck and I had lamb chops for our main course and both were delicious. From the dining room you can look out to an adjoining field and count the number of rabbits out there. If you're really lucky you may even spot some deer - we saw one. Breakfast next morning was one of the best I have had in a hotel with a very wide choice. If you wanted kippers or haddock that was available at a small surcharge. We stuck to the traditional full English and unlike some buffets, everything was piping hot. On the second evening we dined at the Farmer's Arms, which is a pub/restaurant in the hotel grounds. Initially we were told that they were full but when we looked in later another staff member told us that they always kept some tables back for residents so bear that in mind. We would have been most upset if we missed out due to misinformation. However this was the only blot on what was overall a very pleasant stay
Very enjoyable relaxing 2 night stay. Superior room very spacious. Comfy bed. Nice meal in Garden Restaurant. Excellent breakfast. Also a pub on site selling local real ales if you like beer. Very friendly staff made you feel very welcome. Close to Sandringham.
Stayed last weekend for a spa break. The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel as part of the package and again the food was outstanding. Both the quality of the food and customer service was very impressive. Highly regarded. A 5 min drive from Sandringham Estate made the location ideal. Spa treatments were very special and we received an amazing massage and facial each. Only thing I didn't know was the spa was in another building adjacent to the hotel but it's not a deal breaker. Can't rate this venue highly enough. Well done Knights Hill team!
Very nice hotel, lovely room, all facilities. In-house restaurant is quite expensive but there is the alternative pub, the Farmers Arms, which is reasonably priced but across the courtyard so when it's raining or windy you get wet or blown to bits. Breakfast was buffet with excellent selection. We ordered a morning paper but this did not arrive. There is no lift so people with mobility problems need to request a ground floor room.
Booked for two nights but stayed an extra night as hotel so comfortable. Restaurant excellent - food, service - the whole package. The pool was an added bonus we every day of our stay. Reception staff really helpful and polite.
very well looked after, upon arriving until departure.rooms were great and very comfortable.staff were fantastic, esp night porters who had to put up with the occasional noisy reveller...it was a wedding after all !!.
Good hotel with staff who can't do enough for you. Conveniently located for many places in Norfolk to visit. Recommend walking down to Castle Rising. A lovely non commercially focused castle worth visiting. Very quiet and clean hotel. Thank you for making our short break stays in Norfolk even better.
From start to finish this was just a perfect break in a beautiful hotel. The staff could not do enough to help us and nothing was too much trouble. Victoria arranged a room upgrade for us before we even arrived as it was my partner's birthday. We were travelling with our young baby and everyone was keen to help us in any way they could. We had massages which were lovely and Kayleigh in the spa was more than helpful. The pool area was really nice, and not at all crowded. Our room was HUGE! with a gorgeous balcony and great views! The bed was comfortable and the bath was extra large, much needed after a long day! We ate in the hotel restuarant the food was exquisite, as was the service. Emily, our waitress was delightful, chatty but not intrusive and made sure we were well looked after all evening. We will definitely be back!
We have just come back from a great stay at the Knights Hill Hotel in Kings Lynn. The feedback is as follows: 1) Great Location easy to get to from main road and ideally located for visiting north Norfolk. We visited Holkham 30 mins, Sandringham 10mins and Hunstanton 20 mins away. 2) Main restaurant good with great staff. Took our children (6&10) and they had meals with us which was great. 3) Great Lesiure club with pool etc. 4) If you are going to eat in their pub book as they are very busy. We chose the bistro in the main hotel instead. Would definitely use again. Enjoy
From the outside it looks beautiful but the rooms are quite outdated. Our room was very spacious which was great and the bed was surprisingly comfy. The windows open fully which was handy as it was quite warm at nighttime in the room! There were plenty of tea and coffee sachets in the room including green and fruit teas. There were not one but two hairdryers included! The only downside was the old fashioned decor and the bathroom. The bath was one of those green ones with a shower curtain rather than a shower screen. I didn't use the spa facilities as we were attending a wedding in nearby Wolferton and ran out of time. The breakfast was a mixture of cooked and continental which was lovely! We had dinner in the farmhouse restaurant which had a lovely atmosphere and pub food was delicious and reasonable. Even though as a whole it was a pleasant stay, we were part of a large group booking so we had a discount and I'm not sure if I would be willing to stay again at the normal room rate.
If you are in the area and needing somewhere to stay you would be OK here. It has a nice pool and health spa which is not high rent by any means but a good added extra en gratis with good service and friendly staff. It is joined to a pub/ restaurant so food and drink are on site no need to go off piste looking for food at the end of a long day. I don't generally like best westerns but this one was fine but me. Old but spotlessly clean well maintained room comfy and spacious.
Stayed here for three nights and it was the best hotel I've stayed in for comfort and a luxury feel to the room. Really clean and comfortable and the staff were efficient . The swimming pool is a decent size - didn't try the spa though. Would stay again though maybe I'd stay at the back... it can be a bit noisy at the front where I was .
Check in was easy, our room was on the first floor #141. No lift but for the small amount of luggage the stairs were not a problem. The room itself was spacious and the requested balcony was also a bonus. The room has a safe, suitcase stand, coffee and tea making facility and a desk for a laptop etc. NO fridge. The Queen size bed was firm enough for us and provided two nights good sleep. Despite being near the stairs and having an adjoining room both nights (Including a Saturday) were quiet. The bathroom was an adequate size with a choice of mirrors, we are not lovers of the shower in the bath which this room has... Also the positioning of the toilet means that you have to lock the door in order not to have your knees bashed!!!! The soap dispenser is on the wall at the back of the bathtub and using it was not really practical with the shower running. The swimming pool was good when quiet but at busy times lane swimming was hard work. Both the steam room and sauna were good but the Jacuzzi hoggers made it a No Go zone. You need a £1 coin for the changing rooms and could not find a drier for wet swimwear. Breakfast both mornings was good, choice was limited and the fruit bowl on the second day looked tired. Cleanliness was very good throughout but we did find a 'blue tablet' on the stairs leading up to our room, we reported it at reception and again as we checked out the following day. Restaurant choice for the evening meal is limited and we will need to do some research on the food front if we were to stay again. Our Ratings for Room #141 Size 9/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Shower 5/10 Queen Bed 9/10 Amenities 8/10 View from room 9/10 (Lost a point for the tree)
We had a standard room on the ground floor. The room was larger than the usual chain type hotel room and the bathroom was very large with a bath. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My husband was late for breakfast but this was not a problem and they even offered to cook more mushrooms if he wanted them! Altogether a very pleasant experience.
Two 80+ and one 55 year old, spent 3 nights (in two, superior rooms) for 3 days/4 nights in April. The room was very comfortable, HUGE (like a small suite with sofa/chairs) and French windows leading out to the garden. We ate at the local pub which was nice, but the restaurant was SUPER. I used the gym/leisure centre which was well equipped, and had a pool. We had very cold weather, but can imagine how beautiful this would have been in warmer, sunnier weather. REALLY CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH
I booked the Knights Hill purely because I was meeting friends there. I've no doubt that it qualifies for it's 4 star rating based on the range of facilities available and all the staff I encountered were very friendly and the couple of bar snacks that I had very good. The bedroom was spacious and clean and the bathroom well supplied with a powerful shower.. Check in was quick albeit they had lost part of my booking details from Expedia. This was quickly rectified. But. The term former glories sprang to mind. The decor throughout is dated, it was probably state of the art back in the 1980's but I kept getting a feeling of being in an old peoples home. In fact over the 2 days I was there I didn't see any other guests in the bar which was also used as a breakfast room, although there did seem to be quite a few people in the dining room. The hotel is located about 3 miles from central Kings Lynn and has a spacious car park and there is a separate pub on the same site. If you're just looking for somewhere close to Kings Lynn to rest your head for a night or to then the Knights Hill is adequate.
6 of us came here for a family get together and what a lovely meal it was too. had a 50% off voucher which represented extremely good value for money indeed. sat in the chase snug. not too many people when we arived, but soon became busy after 6pm. very good choice of food on the menu. reasonable priced drinks also, plenty of parking on site. lovely health suite at the rear and in a great position on the top of knights hill
Brilliant service, very good food, nice relaxed atmosphere as always, very well looked after by Karen. I would highly recommend The Farmers Arms restaurant and bar at Best Western Knights Hill for food and service. There are four of us that go on a regular basis and have never been disappointed
This was a last minute booking as I was just too tired to drive home back to Wales. What a truly pleasant surprise. The grounds are what really sets this hotel apart from others. The Farmers Arms is the pub onsite where I had a nice steak - there is a restaurant at the back for anyone wanting a quieter atmosphere than the bar. The lounge area in the hotel is a lovely quiet space for afternoon tea and the garden room has an amazing view. Look forward to making a special trip to visit here again ??
ALL of the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were particularly accommodating (I am gluten free) and the chef went out of his way to make me a gluten free sauce without being asked - we were very impressed. Our evening meal was lovely. The view from our room was outstanding.
Excellent location, brilliant value, wonderful staff...fast check-in and check-out...no more really needs to be said...a lovely stay for all purposes...good location if you're working at the hospital but it isn't a centre based hotel...more of a good location to strike out from
Ive been to the spa before and its not been too bad overall however this time it was awful ! My mother in law bought it as a present for me and my partner, half a day in the spa and then a 30 minute treatment. First I got given a room with large foundation stains all over it, then I noticed how unclean the place had gotten. Every sauna had missing tiles (a lot) and some even had random tiles put in as a bodged job ! The pool was freezing and then we went for our massage.. to say it was a bad experience is an under statement ! First we got told the detoxifying and cleansing back massage wasnt a massage ... right. So we both had the sensory massages. I've had this here before and it's been okay. These girls however seemed in a rush and just wanted to get off home. We wasn't asked if we wanted to feel revitalised relaxed etc like described, instead just told to pick an oil. There was no music just an annoying fan going off in the 30 minute (relaxation ) the woman had not listened that the bottom of my back was tense and I wanted that to be a focus, instead she actually just focused on the top half for pretty much the whole time. Having been for many back massages, I've never had someone lean on my head to massage my back , making it very uncomfortable , no real technique was used, and it all just felt very rushed and half hearted. Then it got to the 'head massage' after she basically ripped the hair band out of my hair, the repeatedly kept trying to run her hands through my hair.. my hair is extremely curly, to which it just hurt. Then I had the worst head massage which actually left me with a headache afterwards, my boyfriend having experienced an equally as bad massage was not happy either. If it had not of been a gift I would not have paid the 35 pounds for this treatment! Waste of time and waste of money.
Arrived at knights hill 16/04/2016 was greeted by Sam who was very professional service with a smile and clearly loves her job! Great asset to the hotel! Rooms large and clean always op for a garden room massive with access into the gardens Breakfast excellent all staff friendly! Can't rate the staff high enough thanks for a great weekend!
Adjacent to King's Lynn and Sandringham House. This hotel has excellent staff. Really good food. There is a choice of eating between the Dining Room and the pub within the grounds. Executive rooms are spacious and well equipped. It is a hotel to be recommended
We only stayed 1 night for a reunion, however it was very clean, the staff were helpful and the food that we had was very good - especially the breakfast. It was convenient to get to and gave good access to Kings Lynn and the north Norfolk coast. Good value for money.
We attended a reunion last night at Knights Hill Hotel. Due to our numbers the only food option was the carvery-Big Mistake! The prawn cocktail had no sauce. The main meal was worse. The beef was overcooked, the roast potatoes were undercooked and hard. The carrots were o.k but the runner beans were obviously frozen. The cauliflower cheese was in a white sauce with no cheese and absolutely tasteless. Normally we would have complained, but due to our numbers this was not an option. The staff were pleasant, but had difficulty in coping with our numbers.
Booked for an overnight spa break. Excellent service from staff whilst there and previously on phone. We were upgraded for free to an executive room with balcony, without even asking! Spa facilities were good and clean, great pool and powerful hot-tub, good staff. We had dinner in the Farmer's Arms as they had more choice than hotel Brassiere. Food was ok, service was good. Breakfast in hotel was usual buffet fayre with good selection. Happy to return to this hotel.
3 night stay in a family room for 2 adults and 3 children. By far the best family room we have ever had. We had a large main room and a side room. 2 TV's and 2 bathrooms ! One of the bathrooms had a huge corner bath. Customer service was exceptionally good. Lovely breakfast in the hotel and dinner in the onsite pub. Good swimming pool. Lovely gardens and grounds, several lounges to relax in and even a library. I certainly recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel, staff very welcoming. Lovely part of England but hotel was far away from town and on a busy road. Breakfast was a nice buffet but in the evening we ate in thier own pub next door where the food was just average pub grub nothing special.
Nice hotel with pub and spa on outskirts of town. Room was OK, WiFi was good and service was excellent. Gym was OK, not too crowded, wish I had had more time to spend in the spa etc. Food in pub was good, as was the beer. Would go back.
Great friendly staff and hospitality. Booked bed and breakfast. Due to weather condition in next day morning, we asked to extend our stay and they were very happy to extend our stay another hour or two for no extra cost. Really pleased. Most of all the place is really beautiful and so relax. Worth for another visit. Well done team !!
I had originally booked this hotel last year but I had a family bereavement and had to cancel on the day. I was impressed how sympathetic they were (i could have been making it up)and refunded the non- refundable payment with no argument. I decided that I should book again because of their position on my difficulty. The hotel is very nice and the facilities are pretty good with a decent pool and sauna all included. The location was not as close to Kings Lynn as I thought but for us that was no problem. You do have to drive everywhere. My main problem was that they had some birthday event on (as these places do) and there was a very loud and raucous group in the bar area that was keeping us and several other guests awake. This was from 11pm to 4am. We tried to phone reception to deal with at 3.30am and there was no reply. We also tried to use our mobile to phone the outside line but again no answer. I think this is really poor - particularly when the reception the bar area and then night reception must have seen and heard it all. When we (and others ) complained the next morning I was satisfied that they refunded half of the stay, but it should not have happened. Otherwise this was a very good stay, nice rooms and good breakfast.
With local amenities just down the road in the form of Castle Rising Castle (a great Norman castle attraction), an Asda and a farm shop over the road, this hotel is already appealing. Inside it is better with modern up to date rooms, clean public facilities and a great breakfast in the mornings. Staff are friendly and are always avaliable to help. The same can be said for the spa next to the hotel. There is nothing we could fault about this hotel. As others have said on their reviews, we keep coming back! Thanks. :-)
This is a big hotel with very different levels of accommodation. Our room (an Executive room) was large, well furnished and had a nice view over the garden and fields beyond. It also had a terrace to sit out on which was pleasant. The bathroom was small but adequate. Some rooms are quite a way from the main body of the hotel and there are no lifts only stairs to the first floor. The common parts were not as attractive, the bar in particular lacking comfort and atmosphere. We did not dine there but breakfast was disappointing. However the staff at reception were very helpful and efficient.
Good size room and ensuite bathroom. Very comfortable large bed overlooking a quiet walled garden area. Very good nights sleep. Staff efficient and polite very relaxing atmosphere. Good pub food in the attached pub.
Great value for money. Try the spa as well, obviously costs you more for the treatments you have but WELL worth it. All the staff we found are very friendly and welcoming. Look out for the special offers online too, very good.
Another visit to Knights Hill to celebrate our wedding anniversary ( 57 th). Check in very quick and efficient. Had booked the same room as last time 47 . Booked into the restaurant for the first night very enjoyable. Next nights we ate in the Farmers. That to was very good Nice to know that the coast hopper and the Lynx stop outside the hotel.
Great Location, 5 miles from Kings Lynn. Great birding spots at Titchwell + Cley within easy travelling. 60+ species in 2 days. Friendly staff, good pub restaurant and breakfasts as big as you want them. Spa area was excellent with pool, sauna , steam and jacuzzi. Good bedroom with patio area in garden - will be nice in summer! The bed is about 8ft square, very easy to get lost. Heating excellent good for when it's snowing outside.
Our group of 9 enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were brilliant, with smiles and helpfulness. The restaurant superb. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break, look no further. If you need historical places to visit, try Castle Rising for one.
Me and my Friend stay for a Spa and had wonderful day/evening. The facility's in the Spa was to die for and the staff was so nice. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel .
The staff made my short stay here memorable. Nothing seemed to be too much. I had a business meeting in one of the rooms with military veterans coming and going all day. They were all well received and the service paid to me was exceptional. Emily, Victoria and Ian all deserve mention for their work.
We stayed four nights here and this was our first visit. The hotel is lovely and our room was delightful. The outlook over countryside was far-reaching. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel also benefits from its own pub a minutes walk away which was a real benefit and meals taken there can be charged to your room. The pub was clearly popular with locals as well as guests. A very enjoyable stay.
As a regular BW customer I looked for a BW hotel near to the north Norfolk coast as we wanted to explore the villages, ports and beaches. We had lovely but cold weather and the stay was superb. Reception was very helpful with sorting queries on Bus Timetables and all staff were superb. We opted for an Executive Room (Room 44) which was only a little more expensive that the standard. It looks over the walled garden area and is quiet (apart from the noisy guests returning to their room at 2.30am - inconsiderate twits!). The room is very large with two chairs and a desk and coffee table plus of course the very comfortable bed (and I don't sleep well in hotels). Superb bathroom with fantastic shower and bath and masses of hot water at all times even though the hotel was full. We were B&B and the breakfast was very good. Kippers were a small extra charge and the kitchen did poached eggs for us as I am not keen on the buffet layout for breakfast as food tends to be warm only and the scrambled eggs become like rubber and the fried eggs solid. There was a good choice though of all types of breakfast. We ate for two nights in the Farmers Market pub alongside the hotel and the food was excellent there too. We had one evening meal in the Hotel itself to celebrate a birthday and the service and food was excellent. Look at the pub web site before going as we had two vouchers for a 50% discount on the food, so two courses and two drinks each came to only £20. Nice 4* Hotel with plenty to see and enjoy in the area. Would be very happy to revisit.
During a recent stay to celebrate my husbands birthday, we decided to dine in the restaurant and were most impressed with our waiter Cameron Quinn. He was polite, friendly and attentive throughout the meal, which added to our dining experience. We will definitely be returning in the near future.
This is basically a nice hotel and good value. We meet up for family weekends a couple of times a year. Our latest meeting was seriously spoiled by the attitude of the restaurant manager who repeatedly complained that 18 of us in a private room having Sunday lunch were making too much noise. We were happy to see each other but certainly not unduly noisy, not shouting, not drunk. The door between our private room and the other private dining room was KEPT OPEN, which is presumably why the people in the other dining room complained. Completely ridiculous. When I pointed this out, I was dealt with defensively and rudely.
Had a lovely time, loved our room, the food was delicious and staff were really nice, will come again, hope to stay longer next time. Enjoyed the swimming pool too, would be nice to visit the hotel in the warmer months and have a drink at the pub.
We stayed here for one night as we were visiting family in the area. Bedroom was really big and clean, great for us with a big corner bath that the kids loved. Breakfast was nice, with plenty of choice. Swimming pool was OK, bit cold and I'm a rather dated looking on the interior. Some of the steps into the pool were loose to the point of being dangerous, but that aside was still fun for the kids. Had evening meal in the pub attached to the hotel, food was OK, wouldn't rush to go back there though. Would stay again if I'm the area though.
Fantastic hotel, with great facilities. Good leisure facilities inc pool and a fantastic pub attached to the hotel. Would recommend the hotel for business or pleasure. Sandringham is only a few miles away,.
I booked this hotel as I was working in Kings Lynn. The location is convenient from the main route in, and approximately 15 mins into the heart of the town. The room was clean, and the towels were of excellent quality. The bathroom is a little dated (and the bath felt flimsy when standing in it). But, that wouldn't stop me staying here again. The grounds of the hotel are very nice, and clearly well maintained - in the summer I can imagine everything coming to life. I did use the spa, and thought the area was sufficient. As per other comments, I'd bring flip flops to walk around the area, as the floors can slippery. The staff were polite, and gave me a whistle stop tour of the facilities. Would I stay here again, absolutely!
The hotel was booked as I was working in Kings Lynn. The location was convenient. Check in was efficient and pleasant. It had two places to eat in the main hotel restaurant and a bar across from the hotel. I ordered room service from the hotels restaurant which was lovely and the lady who took the order was very pleasant and helpful due to my dietary requirements and lots of questions!! Breakfast also lots of choice and nice. The room had adequate facilities and as I booked a winter saving room was pleased. The spa facilities I used they have a pool, steam and sauna room, jacuzzi and decent equipped gym. If in the area again would choose to stay
I was given a voucher for a 'fire and ice' experience at the Imagine spa and booked via a website which emailed confirmation and ref no's and a link to the spa to book the date, which I did over the phone, explaining about the voucher etc. On arrival, we waited in the tired, scruffy reception area for 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged in a very half hearted way. We were given towels and robes, shown the way to the changing room and told to go to the spa when we were changed. First impression of the changing rooms was that they were clean but very cold! We then went through to the spa where we filled in our info forms and were shown around the spa in a very hurried fashion and couldn't catch half of what the rather abrupt young lady was telling us. I then enquired about when we would get the serail mud treatment which was included in the voucher, only to be told we weren't booked in for that, after a while the young lady went off to find out if we could have said treatment. On her return, she handed me back the voucher and told us they do not support these vouchers and therefore our spa day would not be available to us unless we paid! After disputing this she went off to get the manager, who could have not been more pleasant and helpful, apologised profusely, gave me the voucher back to use another time and gave us the day for free, even throwing in champagne and chocolate! We did go on to have nice day but this was spoiled by the poor start and poor attitude of the staff. However, Charlotte who did the treatment for us was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. A couple of tips though, the floors are very slippery and no slippers are provided so take flip flops. Also, take a spare towel as only one is provided which was wet by the end of the day. Also, the ice machine wasn't working which kind of spoiled the fire and ice effect!
Dirty floors everywhere, disinterested staff and management (despite many comments and complaints) and always something not working. If this is the state of the spa which is supposed to be clean, fresh and heathy I can't imagine what the rooms in the hotel would be like. No ice for the 'Fire and Ice' experience, and the Fire is lukewarm at times. Long awaited new flooring in ladies changing room looks cheap and poorly fitted - appears not to have been cleaned all day. Lots of unhappy fellow users (can't blame them). I'd avoid.
Firstly let me say that the best thing about this hotel was the wonderful friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was excellent and gave their best. The hotel is a typical large modern hotel situated in a very convenient spot for visiting North Norfolk. There is a leisure complex but I didn't get round to trying it out or even looking at it so can't comment. I shared a twin room with a friend and whilst it was a very large room with en suite and kitchen area, the 'twin' beds were of the kind that can be made twin or double. They were made up as twin but pushed together. I tried to separate them but the headboard was positioned on the wall for a double and there was insufficient space to separate the beds. My room mate did not seem too bothered by this arrangement but I did not appreciate being in such close proximity to someone who was coughing over me and snoring during the night. This would certainly stop me from booking a Best Western twin room again. We ate in the hotel: the breakfasts were excellent. Dinner was probably best if you were a meat eater. There were two vegetarian options on the menu (we stayed for three nights) both contained gluten and didn't come with vegetables. Fortunately others in my group had vegetables to spare. The dishes were nice but not what I would choose to eat. Why would you take risotto and put it into deep fried balls? Because we were out too early for breakfast one morning we thought we were getting a take out breakfast but in fact had to order from the lunch menu. Although we requested no pickle, salad etc. these were still added. Cheese and pickle sandwich for breakfast?! The coffee we ordered didn't appear either though the night receptionist quickly went off and produced some for us. Our bar bill was put under the room door overnight and we had been charged for an extra bottle of wine. This was remedied but something to watch out for. In summary, the staff were excellent though communication seemed to fail in some areas. The hotel was a typical large modern hotel in a handy location. If you want a twin room think how close to your room mate you are willing to sleep. Personally I have had better experiences in much more budget hotels and would not book here for myself.
The Knightshill Hotel and Spa has a lot to offer from great dining to the spa & fitness centre. Its definitely value for money, the friendly staff and a nice location make it a pleasure to stay there and although its on business I would recommend it as a great place to base yourself for touring Norfolk.
Booked for a 30th birthday surprise get away. Stayed in the state room which was amazing! Lovely big bathroom and room overall. Breakfast very nice and good selection. Had booked for treatments in the spa however they phoned to cancel them. I said I would rather they didn't as a special weekend and surely they should prioritise hotel guests over 'Jo public' . (Bearing in mind had most expensive room on site!) Was told the manager of spa would have a look and contact me. Feeling very disappointed Sunday morning after breakfast we wandered over to see if there had been any progress to see 2 other therapists meeting and greeting various clients who where obviously not residents. Still waiting for a call regarding discount/complimentary treatments as very difficult to have time away from full time Jobs and 2 small children. Shame the hotel couldn't of had an input.
We have just had a 3 night break at the above hotel. The room and service were both excellent. The only thing we would have liked was a refrigerator in the room. The breakfasts were excellent with a great choice. The executive room we had was very spacious and in a great position overlooking the walled garden.
Stayed here for one night on a trip around Norfolk. Reception was very friendly and efficient. The room was excellent with a good bathroom. We ate in the restaurant, which was very good. There is also an onsite pub for less formal dining. Breakfast was a very substantial buffet. The swimming pool in the spa was good, but the ladies changing rooms were freezing cold and very, very basic. I went back to the room for a shower. Would definitely stay there again.
Arrived late of Friday evening and the night porter on duty checked us in and couldn't do enough for us , we soon forgot our journey to get there. Executive room was large, comfortable and clean . My only criticism is that the tv is too small given the distance between the beds and it. . Buffet breakfast was good , with a good selection , service was friendly and efficient . On the Saturday night we ate in the restaurant, where again service was good , food excellent and the wine list reasonably price. All in an hotel i would recommend at a very reasonable price . Although we were on business , its location is good as a holiday base for North Norfolk
Carl and jumbo were very helpful and attentive and nothing was too much hassle. Brilliant front of house and very polite. Would highly recommend with there hospitality. Need to be more people like this in the hospitality trade . Would defiantly recommend this hotel . Easy check In at reception lovely friendly receptionist nothing too much trouble . Myself and my friend felt really at home . Thank you to the great team at knights hill especially Carl and Jumbo ! X
Already noted on the comments. On the whole, the experience met expectations but the badly mantained changing room in the leisure part let it down. Additionally I think my room was next to the laundrey as I was kept awake by this noise - and noisy people at 6am which felt like the middle of the night - not the hotel's fault but perhaps you could remind them that people are still sleeping.
Only stayed one night on business. Good location for the business traveller - slightly out of town but with good parking. Double room was a bit small but clean, bathroom OK but with a shower curtain rather than solid panel. Internet worked well. Staff friendly and professional
We visited this hotel on a road trip around Norfolk to start off the new year. The hotel is very convenient for travellers en route to Norfolk locations. It is on the outer ring road which makes it easy for onward travel but means a drive into the town to see Kings Lynn. If you want a spa experience, I advise pre-booking as it was fully booked. I feel the price was quite high and breakfast was expensive compared to the great breakfast we had at the Carousel cafe just a short drive away
Historic and modern at the same time. Classic decor, clean and spacious rooms. The food available for Room Service was of a high standard and the staff were exemplary. I will definitely stay here again.
Spa pool . Dirty please clean it . Dirty tiles and plaster kicking about . Also 2 hairdryers don't work . Plus light bulbs . Pool area really dark . And get those Windows clean without out that spray that leaves smears ..
Stayed at Knight's Hill for almost 180 days in 2015. Room was good since I booked executive room all the time. Continental Breakfast was good and Staff was attentive. Pool was clean and hot tub was also well maintained. Restaurant food is ok as well as food at Farmers Arm pub equally good.
This marvellous hotel has a wonderful situation not far from the Wash (especially for keen birdwatchers); excellent facilities and rooms; and great staff. It's a great base to start off your birdwatching year with trips up to Snettisham and Titchwell RSPB reserves.
We stayed here for three nights in January for a quick break. This Best Western Plus is Situated on the outskirts of Kings Lynn, UK. Very modern hotel with a warm welcome on arrival. Definatly deserves the plus. The room we had was very well equipped with a very large bed and a huge bathroom. The free WIFI we found was the best we've had in any hotel we've stayed at. We dined there for the first night and the food was amazing, full alacart and one of the best meals we've had in a while. The hotel also boast a spa which unfortunately we did feel had the wow factor compared to others we have tried. It's pool seamed a bit cold and the sauna and steam room was a little dated. The staff we felt didn't go out of thier way to make you feel welcome even though we were staying at the hotel they seemed more interested their spa member than hotel guests. The hotel also has a pub which was very welcoming and we found the food was great bar food. Good solection Decor with a good selection of beers. All in all I would definatly recommend this hotel to anyone who feels they deserve some luxury and a quiet break. Five star.
Our first experience of Best Western. Have never really understood the brand before. However a dearth of choice led us to knights hill and what a good decision that turned out to be.Very accessible from A149 and easy to find. Had booked via BW own website which was easy and the same price as the larger booking companies. As usual with any good experience,it's the staff that make the difference. All staff from the reception to the cleaners were friendly and all had a 'hello' whatever they were doing.room was great with all the usual touches and we were very grateful to receive an upgrade.we used the pool and steam rooms which were a great bonus. The farmers arms is an on site pub with a good selection of beers and standard pub grub. Would recommend as a great place to stay if on the NN coast, plenty of space and parking and more suitable for children than some of the other hotel chains.
Stayed for short break over the new year. We booked this hotel as it has an onsite spa with swimming pool, Steam Room, etc. The spa was lovely, clean and very relaxing. The hotel has a restaurant or you can go across the car park to the onsite pub. The pub food was delicious and the pub itself cosy and a nice place to relax. We would come back after our meal to the hotel bar, which is very comfortable. You have the choice of sitting at a table or relaxing on sofas. Breakfast is buffet style with a large choice of cereals, toast, hash browns, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, tomatoes, sausages, etc. You can also order some extra choices from the menu. We had an issue with our room on the first night and were moved into another room which was much bigger and very comfortable. we stayed in the room for the rest of the stay. The staff were lovely and nothing was to much trouble for them. We would stay here again.
Excellent room and service. Very good bedroom. Large and well equipped. Public rooms good but too bright! The excessive light lessened the atmosphere which was a pity. BUT our premium room had 4 seats round a coffee table and garden view which was outstanding. Restaurant was Ok but lacked any creativity and for the dinner a little disappointing (the oil tasted a bit old) and pricey but to be fair not outrageous. Reasonable wine list. Service was a bit amateur - but the hotel is in rural Norfolk! Breakfast excellent and could not have been better. Would be very happy to stay again but probably eat out as we did on second night.
I frequently hold business meetings here and find it very good, quiet for most of the day and a number of rooms which can be used free unless one wants a private meeting in which case the door can be closed but have to pay for this facility, food and drinks available throughout the day
Stayed for two nights at this hotel, whilst on a business trip, and was very pleased with the accommodation, large comfortable bedroom with spacious bathroom. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Ate in the on site pub, food was tasty and very well priced. I was a lone female and felt very comfortable eating in there on my own - definitely a positive. There was a good variety of options for breakfast, all well cooked and tasty. The restaurant had lovely views of the countryside and service was good. Would certainly recommend this hotel and stay again on any future visits to Norfolk.
From check in to leaving excellent service and value for mone y. Rooms and decor very good, lovely comfy beds loads of room. Coffee and tea making facilities good. Friendly helpful staff made very welcome at reception and restaurant
Last minute rush for a family occasion so booking made on the internet for 3 rooms. Hotel was extremely busy and could only get rooms direct through the hotel which meant there were no discounts. Website was not easy to use, a certain amount of scrolling down was needed to see what you were requesting. The staff at this hotel are amazing, can't help you enough. Main restaurant meal was pricy but very, very good. Would certainly book here again.
recommended by a friend who visits often, we stayed for 4 nights in November. It was fantastic in every department. Clean, roomy, very friendly staff, great food. Just wish they could have organised slightly better weather for us!! We'll be back!
We stopped here on our coach trip to Thursford, it was a lovely welcome stop & we had a very nice cooked breakfast. Staff was lovely and very obliging . Will defiantly will stop again. Even came away with free mince pies.
The room was nice but not impressed with the spa/leisure pool facilities. A bit run down and over the other side of a car park. The hotel pub was a good place to eat in the evening and they even provided a food discount voucher.
I stayed here recently for my birthday along with my friends, it was a truly divine experience. The swimming pool is free to all people staying at the hotel, the room was immaculate and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had a very memorable birthday and would defiantly stay here again, with a restaurant just over the road it was very convenient.
This is a well located Hotel for touring north East Anglia and surrounding area. Well appointed rooms with adequate storage, comfortable for a few nights stay. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well serviced. Staff are friendly and helpful. The Restaurant is on more than one level which can be awkward for those with mobility issues. The bar is a little limited but reasonably stocked. There is ample Lounge area but it is spread about in various rooms. There is no lift, if you have mobility problems or in any way infirm, contact the Hotel for advice. Some rooms can be some distance from the main area
We needed a getaway after a busy time, and Knight's Hill was perfect. Surprised to see it was just off a busy roundabout but once inside, most of the views were over fields and it felt very rural and peaceful. The best bedrooms are at the back of the hotel, overlooking the garden and meadows. We wanted a twin room, and our room was the other side, overlooking a nicely-designed courtyard garden. The room was big and comfortable. As well as a modest sized en-suite, it had a small kitchenette in a recess, with kettle, fridge, double hob and microwave. As the room had a (locked) door to the adjoining room, we assume this was a suite which would be very convenient for a small family group. We didn't use the kitchenette! We ate in the main dining room, a lovely room, with full height windows all round to make the most of the views over the garden and meadow. The food was good, reasonably priced, and the staff were attentive. On Sunday lunchtime, the dining room gets full (lots of locals), so it's best to book. The hotel, unusually, has a pub on site, which also serves meals. It was packed out at Sunday lunchtime, you would have to arrive early to get a table. There are also other buildings in the complex, including a function hall and a spa with swimming pool. The main hotel building has various rooms and seating areas where you can find a quiet space to sit and read. The staff were exceptional. They went out of their way to be polite and ensure we were happy with our stay. The staff seemed happy to work there, and the hotel had a lively and positive atmosphere. There are lots of places to visit. The hotel is well placed for both Kings Lynn and the Norfolk coast, and Sandringham is just a few minutes drive away. Overall, a great stay, and we'll be back.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location for work/travel. Shame my evening meal (mixed grill) ruined overall experience. There really is no excuse for poor food these days, but I haven't seen a mixed grill like that since the 1980's! Cost was £17.50, but wouldn't have paid £7.50. Despite being really hungry & looking forward to my meal I hardly touched my food as all meat items were overcooked & tough. I didn't bother to complain as I was entertaining a business customer & I wanted to avoid any potential embarrassment. Shame.
We stayed for a couple of nights and although not perfect there was nothing to really fault it. As part of a coach party we were very well looked after from our welcome and throughout our stay. The facilities are a bit spread out and involve walking - upstairs, across to the 'Courtyard' rooms, leisure facilities and/or to the onsite 'pub'. The pub is part of the hotel so drinks and/or bar meals - if you don't want to eat in the restaurant - can be charged to your room. There's a good selection of beers. Rooms are clean and comfortable and adequate for a short stay. Meals are tasty with a reasonable choice. There's free WiFi throughout the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and I'd recommend this hotel.
We regularly stay at Knights hill hotel. The staff are always helpful and friendly, the rooms are well presented, although some could do with a revamp. The food is lovely and so are the beautiful views. All in all I would highly recommend.
Arrived on a black foul wet cold night from the Thursford Christmas Extravaganza. Soon as entered Hotel found warm greeting and environment, excellent dining and woke to find the surroundings and grounds very attractive. Room was large beautifully warm and in very good order
Just back from a short stay at this hotel on an organised coach trip, so we didn't book the hotel We were made very welcome by the staff, & all were very pleasant and attentive. The layout of the hotel is a bit higgily piggily with various flights of stairs to get to the bedrooms with NO LIFT so some of us did struggle getting up & down the stairs. The swimming pool is out of the hotel across a court yard so not very good if the weather is inclement!! The menu was prearranged before the evening meals, so it was served reasonable efficiently to us 50+ dinners so we were not kept waiting very long. The food was well presented & cooked lovely. They catered for my gluten free diet, although I was kept waiting a little longer than our friends & husband on our table, but at breakfast they were very efficient in bringing me gluten free toast, so all in all service very good. The seating for socialising afterwards was a bit sparse for us all but if you weren't in a coach party you would be fine. Bedrooms were a bit "tired" looking but bed was very comfortable and everything very clean. Lovely farm shop opposite hotel but be careful across the busy road.
Very good hotel enjoyed the facilities and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in kings Lynn I was impressed by their spa facilities and overall staff helpfulness enjoyed the breakfast which was excellent quality
Poor standards of customer care and tired décor, room had overwhelming smell of fried food not good at all Just needs some investment and staff training to improve Did not use leisure facilities which I am sure were good and help the ratings
An enjoyable 3 day visit in excellent superior garden room marred by restaurant issues. A bottle of red wine served absolutely cold direct from the cellar - not once but twice. Of an evening, main courses served on cool plates resulting in the plates being cold before the course was finished. These issues were taken up with staff at the time and latterly with the manager. Hopefully they will be resolved for the future.
We enjoyed a relaxing few days at this hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable, with a bath and over bath shower. Pleasant view of garden area, near the junction of two main roads but no disturbance to our sleep. Very well situated for visits around north Norfolk. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast waiting team very cheerful. Used the spa for swimming, gym and treatments, found all three treatments relaxing and professionally delivered, pool smallish but fine if we waited till after the early evening rush! Only surprise was the use of 'supplements' to prices at breakfast - in a hotel of this quality I wouldn't expect to pay extra for a cappuccino or some kippers when breakfast was already a fair price. Will come again.
great hotel, free upgrade although double bed is not very large. lots to do in the immediate area, great food, friendly staff. pool but didn't have to use it, good parking. unfortunately a very confident man chose to pee up against the front of the hotel on our return that evening. reported the incident and was told it was a member of the spa staff. not impressed. more respect for the paying customer.
We booked in on Halloween Saturday with the Rugby World Cup Final being played so expected chaos. We had a lovely big room with one of the most comfy beds we have ever slept in !! We had our evening meal in the Farmers Arms, the on-site pub. The staff were all dressed in superb Halloween makeup. The wait for food was minimal and the ghoulish goulash was lovely. The desserts were unbeliavable. Great place to stay. Staff superb. 5 real ales to choose from.
Just had a meal in the Farmers arms pub side of knights hill hotel..Kings Lynn... Waited ages for food .So i asked a waiter how long it takes for food to arrive at the table 25.mins i was told . One minute later food arrived,, my partners meal was fine and hot mine was cold veg all dried up complained to pub manager .she said i will take it back and get another one ..When it arrived back at the table it had been in the microwave for at least ten minutes it was HOT..Thank you... she did offer me a drink and apologized ..
A friendly hotel, clean with a well appointed room. Dinner menu with a reasonable range and specials menu which offers good value. Goats cheese risotto cakes nicely presented and very tasty. Choice of desserts and very good selection of cheeses. Overall a refreshing business hotel.
Spent 3 lovely relaxing days here. Spa and the staff were wonderful and highly professional. The hotel was very comfortable and our room was so spacious. We bought a spa package which was fantastic value for money and we hope to return in the new year
I've had the pleasure of staying here twice for short weekends away and have found this to be a wonderfully run and maintained hotel. As others have mentioned, the spa is fantastic... If you can get a booking as they fill up extremely fast. If you're wanting the spa treatment, you need to call ahead and see if it's even available before you book your room. The pub on site is a typical pub, decent food and pints. Haven't eaten at the restaurant inside the hotel however but it's smelled delicious.
AS other reviewers have said, a good clean hotel, with a pretty good buffet style breakfast, and a warm welcome with very friendly staff; the only failing would be a lift to the first floor as the stairs are both steep and have a narrow tread. The Spa pool was a disappointment being too small to accommodate more than three swimmers comfortably, and these tended to be all local people with no room for visitors, perhaps I was just unlucky with the times (6.00pm and 7.00am) I chose to use this facility. Evening meal in the restaurant tended to be a bit pricey, and adjoining pub was both busy and noisy; suggest booking for both. Enjoyed the room with plenty of space, and, joy of joys, a good hot walk-in shower.
Both my husband and I were taken here by our lovely friends to celebrate my Birthday , and what a gorgeous treat it was! Everything perfect, room , breakfast , staff , cleanliness , could not find fault. We can see why this is a "Plus" Hotel . Also had a marvellous facial ( from Holly) which was the best I had experienced. Well done Best Western you have certainly got it right !
My husband and I took our friends here for the weekend to celebrate two 65th birthdays courtesy of Tesco vouchers. I had telephoned and asked for quiet, adjoining rooms and my request was definitely taken on board as we didn't hear a thing all weekend. We all agreed we couldn't find even one single little thing to complain about. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the rooms were extremely comfortable with everything we could possibly need, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent. We used the pool and the spa facilities, all of which were very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and definitely hope to visit again.
We stayed for 3 nights on a B and B basis which worked well. The breakfasts were excellent and the standard of the food was very good. We eat out and also at the adjoining pub, which could be busy at certain times, it would be advisable to book for dinner in either of the restaurants, rather than leave it to chance. Room was a large executive room facing west and overlooking the garden, and it was well worth the extra cost. All staff we met were very helpful. Overall a good experience and a pleasant break.
Stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was of good standard. The rooms were clean, comfortable. The hotel had loads of parking places. Drinks a little pricey. The location offered a good choice of places to visit.
I have been to knights hill a few times before but never as a destination place more a just passing ( seaside, hospital etc) feel a bit hungry kind of visit, we visited on a Saturday afternoon , two adults and a child, and I have to say bad timing on our part , it was final score time and let's just say some of the customers were a little disappointed with the results !! It was busy it was noisy so we chose a table in the snug area, which did make things a little more family friendly ! Food arrived after a short wait, everything as ordered , friendly polite waitress, it has to be said the food is ok, nothing more, not great not awful, just ok, ok portions, ok taste, which I'm guessing is exactly what we expected, the actual pub and hotel is a lovely building and the staff are great, my final comment is the pricing of the food which I have to say I think is a little on the high side and yes at the end of the meal we did get a 50% off next visit voucher but that could be months away and I'm likely to lose it !!
