« Great place to atay »

« Treated us like Royalty during a busy Tulip Festival in Holland! »

An old Family teadition of my husband, heading to Tulip Festival in Holland with his mother and grandmother as well as all the siblings. This year we returned to remember them and stayed at Best Western Plus. From checking in to checkout on Sunday, Tish and Jeremy truly made us feel right at home! Most excellent experience; comfortable, beautiful lodgings, orofessional and caring Staff. Made our visit all the more memorable. Thanks Tish and Jeremy for making BW proud and for truly spoiling us.??

    « friendly staff & nice rooms »

it is a basic roadside hotel with a few little touches like a faux rustic exterior and a bear motif. the rooms are fine. the staff is very helpful and friendly & this is a definite plus. the place is also pet friendly. this was also a plus, since my daughter & her dog could stay with us. also, dog lovers & kids will appreciate the parade of pooches coming and going. but if you're not into that keep it in mind.

« Good basic hotel with friendly staff. Great location! »

While experiencing Tulip Time I spent one night here. Staff were friendly and very helpful. My room was clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well, not having to endure usual noise and subsequent frustration of nearby loud guests. Price paid was extremely high or I would have given them 5 stars.

« Good Choice in Holland »

Our check in process was slow. A general manager, Jeremy happened to walk thru the desk area, noticed the slow process and immediately checked us in. He was quite helpful with restaurant tips and other Holland suggestions. We needed a dog friendly room, so our room was on the first floor with had an outside entrance as well as an interior entrance. The room was very clean (kudos to housekeeping) and spacious with a king bed, and sitting area. Bed was comfortable (not too hard, not too soft, no body indents). We did not eat breakfast, but notable is a large sitting area for eating and what looked like a variety of options which included hot items. The hotel is located in a shopping/restaurant area, so lots to offer if you don't want to head into downtown Holland.

    « Tulip festival trip »

My rating is lower to reflect a bad policy decision made by this hotel. I booked two rooms, but my wife's parents were unable to come with us, as he was taken to the hospital several days before we were scheduled to drive to Holland. I called the hotel and explained the problem, and they could not have cared less. Policy states that the paid rooms are non-refundable. Would never stay here again. Check in was slow and they wanted to schedule my time for breakfast. Food was good and they had a nice variety of breakfast items.

« Don't let life happen if you plan to stay here »

Had a room reserved for the night before my son's wedding. The room was for the minister, who was coming from out of town. Four days before the event, the minister cancelled on us. When I tried to cancel the reservation, I was told that it was non-refundable. When my booking agent requested that we be extended a credit for future use(not that I would stay in a hotel 4 miles from my house), that was refused as well. Bottom line was use the room or just forfeit the $217. There are plenty of hotels nearby that I'm sure offer better customer service. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express, the Hampton Inn, the Fairfield Inn... they're all within 1/2 mile of this place, but I wouldn't stay here!

« Convenient, clean and great staff »

We stayed here when we visited the Tulip Festival. The hotel was convenient to everything we wanted to see. The staff was professional, helpful and very accommodating. We stayed in a whirlpool suite and the bathtub was a great perk! Breakfast was delicious. There was even an omelet station.

« Great hotel for a stay in Holland »

We stayed two nights at this motel for a quick visit to Holland before the start of the Tulip Festival. We liked our room, beds were comfortable as well as the pillows. The room and all areas of the hotel were clean. They were doing some deep cleaning like carpets in the hall and repainting the door frames while we were there but this didn't cause us any issues. The staff we came into contact with were all very friendly. The pool was nice, but cold. They had many beach balls for the kids to play with. The hot tub was large but could have been a bit more powerful or have more jets. Breakfast was good with several "hot" items offered, eggs, sausage, waffles, gravy and biscuit. There were a couple restaurants within walking distance and several shopping centers and restaurants close by. I would certainly stay here again.

    « My Opinion »

Would be a great hotel if they got new mattresses, heated their so called heated pool and cleaned properly their in room jetted tubs! Manager told us it was 78 degrees, this was not true. Many guest were very disappointed with the cold pool!

    « Paw paw sisters »

Jeremy, the hotel manager, and his staff helped make our stay a fun and blessed one. They are friendly and professional. The ambiance of the hotel is wonderful and the hotel is extremely clean. Please tell Jeremy that the Paw Paw sisters said hello and ask him how his tulip is doing.

« Best hotel experience in a very long time! »

I asked for a quiet room and that is what they gave me! I asked for early check-in and I was called when my room was ready! Nothing could have been better. The breakfast far exceeded most free breakfasts.

    5
« Nice place to stay »

Hotel is very nice, quiet, in good location. Comfortable bed, clean updated room. It's pretty simple, the value was good for the area. The breakfast was average, the presentation was very good. All the staff members working the front desk were extremely friendly and personable. I would stay again, if in the area. Now that I have reached the 200 charter minimum, I have said enough.

    5
« Friendly, helpful staff made for a nice stay »

We were in Holland for a wedding, and we all stayed at the Best Western. Except for an April ice storm, everything went well. Because of the storm and road conditions, the Sunday brunch at my sister-in-law's house had to be canceled. Best Western extended brunch hours and check-out for the wedding-goers. Esmeralda did a great job with the breakfast even though her helper couldn't get to work. Fast wifi, 24/7 fresh coffee, free popcorn, an indoor pool (that the kids loved), and very friendly, helpful staff.

    2
    « A Big Disappointment »

While the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, I was very disappointed to find out that my sink was clogged and the clock didn't work in the room. I wonder if housekeeping cleaned the sink in the morning before my arrival! I was never offered any compensation for my inconvenience.

    4
    « Nice place »

No fruit with breakfast. Wonderful staff. Overall happy with our stay. Pool was cold but they just finished redoing the entire thing. Had lots of balls in the pool area for kids to play with. Parents who don't watch their kids suck

    5
    « Enjoyable stay »

Nice, clean hotel with very cozy rooms. The front desk provided good service and we enjoyed the breakfast options available. Hotel is located in a very convenient area, close to downtown Holland, and has numerous dining options close by.

« Jacuzzi was really nice »

Great location. It's close enough to downtown, shopping and the beaches. Clean rooms and the Jacuzzi was excellent. Also, a really friendly staff. Great breakfast, I definitely plan on staying here again.

    « Anniversary Trip. »

This Best Western Plus is beyond excellent! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape from their hectic lives. The decor is impressive, it had a warm cozy cabin feel. The hotel itself, our room and the pool was nice and clean. The staff was amazing! They were very accommodating, personable and sweet. We even got a gift bag with some goodies/water at check out, thanks Scott! It was the best hotel experience we've had yet! Highly recommend!

    « A Nice Overnight Stay »

This was a nice overnight stay while in Holland recently. I checked in late. The front desk staff was friendly. The room was nice, spacious and clean. The WiFi was great. I left early to eat breakfast with a friend, so I didn't eat the complimentary breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

    « Holland winter night »

Nice updates to lobby, pool good. Hotel was warm on cold winter night. Rooms are in ok shape. Breakfast was ok. Need to offer more fit type items. parking is good and close to doors and front entrances for easy check in.

« Nice place to stay »

Stayed here for a night with my four year old son. Tish was very pleasant and helpful on our check in. Pool was packed with kids so we didn't get a chance to use it. I wasn't a fan of the automatic light going into the bathroom, but not a deal breaker. Very personal staff at breakfast and every housekeeper I walked by in the morning made a point to wish us a good day. Nothing better than staying at a place that the employees acknowledge you being there. Thank you for the great stay!

    5
    « Wonderful Staff »

The staff were all very friendly and they made us feel welcome. They were very accommodating for our large family. We loved that the pool was open all night. The adults took advantage of this. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

    5
    « Excellent »

This hotel is great. It's so nice to be able to actually enjoy the pool if you check in late. I wish more hotels would do this for kids who have spent a lot of time traveling and want to swim. Also the staff is outstanding and the hotel is spotless. They go above and beyond for families traveling with pets too! We will be return customers.

    5
    « Great place »

We loved the pool. The pool is open 24hrs and they have balls for the kids to play with. The breakfast was great. They had lots of options. The hotel was clean and decorated very nice for the holiday. Kids loved the dancing Santa. The staff is wonderful! They treated us like family. Great place for large groups!

    5
    « Darren & Linda »

My husband and I stopped for the night after traveling back home from southern Illinois for the holidays. It was a well needed break from the snowy and cold conditions outside. This hotel is beautifully decorated in a log cabin theme. Breakfast was great, the pool and hot tub were open 24 hours, the staff was friendly and most of all it was very clean.

    5
« Our family loves This hotel. »

This hotel is awesome the staff is great. Our family loves this hotel. The room are comfortable relaxing l. We love that the pool is open all the time. The service is excellent and very helpful when needed. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would advice them to come here. We will definitely be back to stay. The points system is awesome especially the promotions they have at times.

« Favorite hotel in Holland, MI »

« We always come back. »

We stay at this hotel every time we are visiting the Holland area. The hot breakfast and indoor pool/hot tub are great features. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even have a popcorn machine in the lobby.

    5
    « Great stay »

We enjoyed our stay for the couple of days and regret going to a different location due to having to go to a different area. We were in holland for birth of a grandchild and then went to Muskegon. Should have just stayed at BW and felt with the drive.

    « recent stay »

Lovely hotel with comfortable beds and tasty breakfast. We would highly recommend these accommodations. Staff were courteous and helpful with giving directions. We were always greeted when we entered.

    « Great Service »

Had great service. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Great accomodations, great breakfast, super kind staff, nice clean room, great pool and hot tub. Great experience. Hotel was clean, very festive decorated for the Christmas season. The hotel is located in a great spot in Holland, close to lots of great restaurants and stores and mini malls to shop at. Best Western had great room rates.

    4
    « Very clean »

This was a pleasant surprise, very clean hotel and friendly helpful staff. The beds are a little on the hard side a pillows a little small but overall nice rooms. The pool area was super clean and very much enjoyed by my family! If in the Holland Mi area I would stay here again.

    4
« Nice stay for an overnight »

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Overall I would come back and recommend to others. Good stay while in Holland. The breakfast was good and they offered a wide variety of food choices. In the evening they had coffee available in the lobby and a popcorn maker too!

    5
    « Great value »

We were pleasantly surprised at this hotel. The beds have pillow tops and are very comfortable. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. It was a very good breakfast with a lot of variety. The pool and hot tub were clean and good.

    « Another wonderful stay!! »

we had another wonderful stay here. We love this hotel and everytime we are in town we stay here. This time when we came they had a omelette station fresh omelettes made right in front of you. YUM The staff is always friendly and willing to help you and i love the face you can get fresh coffee in the lobby any time of the day with real creamer like vanilla or hazelnit...My son loves the heated pool and the fact he can go and play anytime he wants.

    4
    « nice hotel »

hotel was pleasant and close to a lot of places in walking distance. amenities were great. pool, sauna, computer room breakfast (best part about breakfast was they have a omelet station for those who like fresh hot omelets

    5
    « Fall Break »

This is a clean hotel. The beds were comfortable. Brandon checked to see if we could check in early and we did. This young man has great customer service skills as does Scott. The only negative is quest in the room above sounded like an elephant walking across the floors very late at night and very early in the morning which disrupted our sleep. Would stay again and recommend to family and friends.

    5
« No meat left at breakfast, thats tough when your gluten free and choose Best Western because pf typically good breakfast »

Chef did inform us they were out of meat because he underestimated the order. The bisq & gravy was gone too. Ordered an omlette but it came put as a scrambled egg that was not fully cooked with no cheese & I asked for cheese. The beds were comfortable, room large and clean.

    2
« Poor Hotel- Not Worth Staying At »

The bathroom was falling apart, I could almost pick up one of the floors due to how bad the condition of the floor. Caulk in the shower was moldy black and the grab looked like it was almost ripped off the wall multiple times. Found dog fur on the bed and then my clothing. Definitely didn't seem very clean and front desk staff was not very friendly. Definitely over paid for the hotel room.

« BEST WESTERN PLUS HOLLAND INN & SUITES, HOLLAND »

my children loved the idea of being able to swim as soon as we arrived, and then again later in the evening. (since they are open 24/7) There are so many restaurants to pick from that deliver. We made it easy and had pizza delivered so they could keep swimming and the adults could just relax. This location is great for shopping with all the best stores nearby.

    5
« Great Place To Stay »

Stopped here as a half way point on our trip. Was easy to find and had plenty of parking.Check in was easy and the staff was very very friendly.By being a member I also received a small thank you bag with water and snacks. So Thank You!!..Room was on the first floor close to pool and breakfast room.Room was nice sized and very clean. Some places overpower you with cleaning scents but not so here.Beds were very comfortable and made for a good nights sleep.Shower had enough power and heat for an enjoyable wake me up feel.Shampoo even had a good scent!Hot tub was clean and relaxing....A bit on the hot side but totally worth it.Pool was also clean and had balls you could play with.Towels were also nice.Breakfast was good.Had the basics...juice,eggs,sauage toast ect.....Check out was also easy. Will stay here again if ever up this way again and also explore the town.It was a great place to stay!

    5
    « First time stay »

Dog friendly hotel. Great location, great service. Bed so comfy. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Breakfast included with room rate--very good selection of food items, good service. Complimentary coffee, popcorn, apples, 24X7 in the lobby.

    5
    « Best stay ever! »

This hotel has it all. Outside entrance doors if you're bringing your pet. 24hr. pool. Great breakfast and fitness area. Even the vending machines had great choices! We will definitely stay here whenever we are in the area.

    2
« Don't Let the Cuteness fool you. »

I was very disappointed with the condition and cleanliness of the rooms. They are old and in need of upgrade. We were upgraded to a suite and the couch was full of stains which made you not want to sit on it. The sink mirror was also full of stains and the room smelled musty. The appearance of the outside leads you to believe it's a good hotel but was very disappointed with the room's condition.

    5
    « Attending a wedding »

The staff was great, especially the manger. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at a hotel. We used the pool area a lot. It was nice and relaxing. A good location to see things in Holland. The room was clean and nice. We liked it enough we extended our stay.

    4
    « Spacious room! »

Easy check-in/check-out. All employees are very friendly. Nice lobby with coffee, popcorn, ice water, and newspapers available throughout the day. Breakfast is average for most complimentary breakfasts. However, the breakfast room is a little on the small side. Nice indoor pool and hot tub, though both could be warmer. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Short drive to all of Holland's attractions including Lake Michigan beach. We really enjoyed our stay here. Plan to return next year.

    5
    « Better than ever! »

I have stayed here every summer for about 5 years but love the new decor ths year.My room was modern, clean and well taken care of every day. Breakfast also had more options and the staff was great. They helped me with directions a few times and took the time to print me out maps. They gave my stay a real personal touch. The pool was clean and very relaxing.I look forward to my stay everytime I come home to the Holland area.

    1
    « Wedding night »

They called me at 10:30 on my wedding night to tell me they over booked my room. What. The. Hell. And then they told me they had a smaller room for us, once again at 10:30 at night they told us this. That's frankly not acceptable. In my opinion and I work for hotels!

    5
    « Friendly, comfortable hotel »

We choose this hotel for the good reviews and it did not disappoint. Free breakfast, great location, 24 hour pool and hot tub in good working order. Beds were comfortable and enjoyed the bear decor throughout but it also focused on the Holland theme. Highly recommend.

    « Girls weekend »

Sis and I took our mom to Holland/Saugatuck for her birthday. My mom was having shoulder pain so I called the front desk to inquire about Ziploc bags to make an emergency ice pack. An employee met me on at the ice machine at 3 AM. She was able to get some relief and sleep. Hotel was super clean, staff was cordial and the breakfast exceeded expectations. Thank you for making our stay wonderful :)

    « 1 Unique Hotel room »

Room 113 was very different... some one put hundreds of little glow in the dark dots on the ceiling...when all the lights are out, it makes it looks like one is sleeping under the stars when you go to bad.(don't repaint the ceiling in this room).

    2
    « Little sleep - thin walls »

Make reservations through Best Western. Was told this was the only room they had left. This was a lie as there were many, many rooms. Put room on my Credit Card and was told three times that it could not be changed as it would be charged to my card. Very dishonest reservationist. The breakfast was excellent. BUT the room was disappointing as at 4 am the people in the next room were up and preparing to leave I guess. They were not yelling or even loud, but every word could be heard. We could not sleep through this.

    1
    « Feeling dirty! »

The room was so dirty we had to ask for another room. If the room had not been paid for in advance we would have gone to another hotel. The first room was not only dirty but the towels looked like they had been dirty and refilled. The bed was frumpy and looked like it was lumpy or someone had been laying on it and didn't fix afterwards.

    5
« We love Best Western »

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed here two nights and slept well both nights. The breakfast is delicious, hot and fresh. There was a wide variety of yummy things. The hotel is close to the usual attractions but away from the noise and easy to access. There are several eating places within walking distance. Our room faced a field so it was very quiet.

    1
« WE WILL NEVER STAY AT BEST WESTERN AGAIN »

After our issues with the Best Western in Valparaiso indiana, we thought we would give BW another try, but after our most recent stay, that's it. paint bubbling and chipping away in bathroom, pooling water in bathtub. Wood deteriorating on outside. hot food luke warm, room dusty.

    5
    « Best Western Plus rates A+++ »

Our room at this Best Western Plus was one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. Every corner was immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling in the Holland, MI area.

    2
    « Holiday weekend »

Only 1 person working at the desk on a holiday weekend, allowing guests of hotel to sit directly outside the front entrance and smoke, maintenance issues -we arrived and sink is clogged with hair and filth, I spent most of the evening explaining to the young staff 1) when it's time to call a plumber 2) when it's time to offer a discount to guests for inconveniences. Breakfast bar was dirty and did not have enough of anything -milk, yogurt, etc. Please train the staff to generally make people feel welcome at an overpriced, underwhelming hotel on a holiday weekend.

    4
    « Comfort »

This place was perfect for an overnight stay. The bed was the most comfortable bed,I've slept on in a while at a hotel. The breakfast was good and they had great coffee. All staff members were extremely nice and helpful.

    1
« Not Happy with this Hotel »

Initially given a room that was not cleaned, then made feel we were did not know what we were talking about. Had to wait 15 minutes more to get a clean room. We checked in after the check in time so the rooms should have been ready or at the least sent to one that was. The room and the hallways smelled of smoke and told by the front desk they don't have control over what the guest do. The smell was not from just one person smoking. At breakfast there was no milk for cereal or ketchup for the eggs and no one to ask for anything. The food that was supposed to be hot was only slightly warm. Will not return or recommend.

  • 2
« would find a better place for the money »

The place looks fine on the outside, staff is nice and helpful. The rooms need maintenance (a/c, plumbing, locks). Automatic lights in the bathroom (watch your eyes at night if you have to go). Poor quality breakfast, they advertise an omelet station, there is none. When I asked about it I was given 4 different excuses why it wasn't as advertised, powdered eggs, poor quality gravy and sausage. Beds sleep fine but the rest of the furniture looks cheap. I found the hair dryer when I was leaving, in the bottom drawer of the dresser (good hiding place)

    2
    « Dated and worn »

Staff was very friendly. The breakfast room was very nice and offered a great continental hot breakfast. The rooms were dated and dark. The bed was worn and uncomfortable. Details in the room made it look old. Spider webs in many corners of the room. Price was reasonable but I wild spend more to stay elsewhere.

    5
« Staying here for years! »

I go over to the Grand Haven/Holland area a few times a year for 28 years. Sometimes camping, others for just a weekend get away. I always try to stay at the Best Western in Holland. I have never had any issues and they allow pets which is very nice! Pricing is reasonable (get those AAA discounts!), and the complimentary breakfast is very nice. Love those waffle makers! Rooms are always clean, beds fairly nice. Will continue to make Best Western my go-to hotel in this area!

    5
    « Excellent overnight stay »

We had a late check-in, after 10 p.m., and Shyanne at front desk was super friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub open 24/7 and very well-maintained--I was happy to make use of both after a long drive. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was included. First-floor odd-numbered rooms feature an outside as well as interior door, which made unloading/loading car a breeze. It is an older property but has been updated and appears to be well-cared for by staff (good job James!). Slight snafu at check out regarding a Travel Card, but this was quickly remedied by Jessica and we were on our way. I'll be staying at this BW again when I travel in the Holland/Saugatuck/Grand Rapids area.

    5
    « Excellent »

There is so much to do here I'll definitely be back for fun! Check in to out was great! Alfred was great checking in, they have express checkout so it's fast and painless. The hotel is clean quiet and comfortable. Rooms are spacious mine even had a gas fireplace and Jacuzzi tub, too bad I was alone. This is a definite return with my wife.

« !!BEWARE!! WORST HOTEL IN HOLLAND! DO NOT GIVE THIS HOTEL YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO OR YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY! DO NOT TRUST! »

BEWARE!!! This is the worst hotel in Holland Mi. We have called the Holland County health dept to have them investigated. We left after 10 minutes in the room after encountering very large seman stains on the bed sheets. The clerk gave us a 0 owed receipt and then we get home and find that the Best Western had charged our card anyway. We have contested through the credit card company and the Best Western has lied saying we used the room and showered and stayed in the room for hours and the biggest disapointment is that the hotel is lying and saying that we created the stains in the room. Just unreal to us that the hotel mngt is lying to try to get funds for a room that we never used.

    4
    « Very Nice »

We had a great stay. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfy. The pool are was nice but I thought the pool water was too cool and the hot tub was way too hot. But the kiddos enjoyed it and the balls too play with were a big hit. My only complaint is the service at breakfast. During busy times there should be two staff to help with the breakfast many times the forks and coffee were out.

We were in the area for a family reunion and decided to spend the night instead of driving home. It was a nice break from our routine. This Best Western Hotel is unique because you can access your first floor room from outside by parking right at your door. Very convenient!

« Great place for the price! »

Super friendly staff, descent location and spacious rooms. We stayed 4 nights. Super quiet, comfy beds and pleasant scent. The only down side was in the bathroom. The bath mat inside the tub was peeling and underneath it was covered in mold and mildew. Also the couch in our room was covered in stains. Other than that it was a nice stay. I would say over all it just needs a bit of updating and a deep clean.

    « Pleasant stay »

We had an extremely pleasant stay at the Best western in Holland. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and they had a very nice breakfast. We stayed four nights while vacationing. The only thing we would've like to see different was to have a fan in the bathroom that worked. It got extremely hot while showering. We let the maintenance man know and he told us the switch in the bathroom doesn't work in any of the rooms. The fans are all connected to a big fan on the roof.

    « Sad trip »

Overall unhelpful staff, understaffed staff, older room, and was hoping for a nice weekend away, was not so much. Pool did not work, not enough (or any) food at breakfast, mud for coffee, just overall missing the mark across the board. Will choose Holiday Inn down the street next time.

« relaxing with phenomenal breakfast »

Room was very clean & well appointed. The hot tub was exceptionally nice & the bath towels provided were quite large.Added bonus was the adjoining patio where one could walk out, lounge in hammock or relax, smoke or whatever on outdoor furniture (which was all fenced in and private).included breakfast was phenomenal-eggs,meat,potatoes,waffles,bagels,muffins,yogurt,fruit,cereal.etc.however,after 9;20 OR SO ONLY item refilled was potatoes which were not empty. Breakfast was til 10:00 & most items were gone by 9:30.At 9:50 potatoes were refilled - nothing else.

« Nice room, pleasant stay »

The room was a king suite. It was a good size. Had mini fridge and microwave. I don't usually use Best Western but this was a nice one. Breakfast wasn't great but it was ok. Pillows were not too comfortable. The room and common areas were clean. Parking was right out front.

The staff at this hotel went out of their way to make every guest feel special. The best customer service in years. Very comfortable, clean, updated hotel. It was such a great stay and we appreciated the professional staff going out of their way with special touches to make our visit meaningful. We will definitely be back next visit to Holland.

« All the basics you need. »

This Best Western was reasonably priced for the location. The room was generally clean, the internet worked fine, and the breakfast had adequate selections for all family members. This is just what I look for on a family road trip with no surprises.

We planned a weekend trip to visit the beaches and see some lighthouses. This hotel was centrally located to a lot of activities in the area. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Very clean, Scotty was so helpful to our group - above and beyond; Esmeralda was very friendly. Top notch staff and we'd return next time in Holland! The patio area was so nice for hanging out in the evening.

    « Great value! »

The pool area was really nice. There were several balls in the pool for the kids to play with, along with an infant float. Both of which were very much appreciated. Even had a hot tub, foozeball table, and hammocks! Staff was friendly and rooms were clean.

    « Great Pool/Outdoor Patio »

Nice, Clean Hotel. Awesome indoor pool with hot tub. Unlike other hotels, there is a washroom located within the pool area. Outdoor Patio has a grill area, 2 hammocks and tables. Ample hot breakfast. Is close to many stores, and restaurants. It is about 5 minutes to downtown Holland and about 10 minutes to some of the beach areas. Staff very knowledgeable about many of the tourist attractions in the area. Also has a guest laundry.

Front desk very helpful. Heated Pool very nice and relaxing. Room we were in could use new carpet. Internet available always a plus. Breakfast not bad, could use someone to help keep stocked other than front desk clerk (she was busy with other things).

« Nice Stay in Holland »

Husband and I stayed in Holland 2 nights while traveling in Midwest area. Holland is a pretty lakeside town, very scenic area, nice downtown with shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is near rt 31, with several other hotels, nearby restaurants and stores (mostly chain stores), some within walking distance. It is not in the scenic downtown area nor near the lake, but within a short drive. Hotel is clean, and the staff friendly. There is indoor pool area, coin operated guest laundry on premises, coffee in lobby. Breakfast served in the a.m. We stayed in executive king. Room was HUGE! Bed was comfortable, and I liked that the sink is separate from toilet/tub area. There is a microwave and a mini fridge. Relatively quiet, although the a/c is always noisy, IMO. Hotel was full while we were there. Lots of families with children, as the amenities and free breakfast would be a good value for families.

    « Better than Expected »

The room was clean and the décor upgraded. The lower floor, outer door's locking mechanism wasn't working properly but managed to wiggle the door so we could lock it. The bed was comfortable and the stay was worth the pennies spent.

« Better than your average BW »

Much more upscale than you normal Best western. Cheerful friendly staff. Clean well appointed room. Quiet AC unit. comfortable bed. Full breakfast with several options. My only issue was the water dispenser in the fitness room did not work. we were assured by staff that they would get right on it. Two days later they still had not "gotten right to it." They also had trouble keeping the cold water cooler replenished. It is the little things that make a difference

« Beautiful common and sleep areas, bathroom not so much »

The good: It's very obvious that this place has been recently renovated. Beautiful, comfortable lobby, and the sleeping areas of the rooms are wonderful. The beds are comfortable. The pool water was warm and clean and the pool towels were bigger than the bath towels! The bathroom was roomy, with good water pressure in the shower. The free breakfast had a nice variety, the attendant was constantly refilling and cleaning things, and the area was clean and beautiful. The desk staff was kind and helpful. The not so good: The elevator was really slow and the door opened so slowly that I thought it was malfunctioning. There were some spots of mold or mildew on the bathroom ceiling. There was a sensor light blinking all night long in the sleeping area, and the door to the room was creaky. One tiny complaint about breakfast: I can't eat potatoes due to hypoglycemia and the only way I could get bacon was in the potatoes... it was all mixed together.

« Hotel Staff Best Part of Stay »

Staff did an outstanding job of accommodating and meeting our needs. All staff were friendly and helpful. The physical aspects of the hotel were better than what would be expected from a 3-star hotel. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

« Staff responded quickly and kindly to issues »

Hot water in sink wasn't working upon arrival as well as the TV remotes. These should be working upon arrival, but the staff was very responsive and kind to resolve them quickly. Overall, very nice hotel and I would go back for the price, but they have a couple items they need to ensure are all in order before a guest arrives.

    « Don't stay at this hotel »

The keys don't work to get into your room. We had to go to the desk four different times to have it corrected. Then they finally figured out it was the batteries in the door that were dead. The carpet in the room needs to be replaced. The breakfast in the morning was a mess...there was food on the floor, they were out of cups, out of milk, the list goes on and on.

My husband, westie, and I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. The hotel was busy, but the staff was great at attending to everything. We stayed 2 nights and most hotel personnel are usually pleasant but this place has exceptional employees. Elizabeth was very professional and always had a smile on her face. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Scotty and Alfred went above and beyond my expectations. Very clean hotel with a pool and breakfast included. I was staying here for work and they even printed documents for me. Scotty's dinner suggestion for prime rib was Crazy Horse Steakhouse. It was excellent! This is by far the best of Best Western I have ever stayed at. I will stay here again next time I am in Holland, MI. I would give this hotel and their staff an A+!

    1. NO VENTILATION WORKING IN ANY OF THE BATHROOMS, WE CHECKED. No vented fan, the A/C vent does not work in bathroom, I showed this to staff, and then we checked other rooms and they did not work either. 2. DID NOT HAVE A FULL BATHROOM, WE DO NOT LIKE SPLIT BATHROOM! NEED FULL BATHROOMS! We are not HALF A PERSON, AND WE DO NOT CLEAN UP HALFWAY! staff was professional and helpful. rooms were just average, so why is this a best western PLUS?

We had a large group for our baseball tournament in he area. The manager Tommy and Sonny were amazing and did everything to make our group feel so welcome. The patio outside was great by the pool and the conference room was a great space for our team to meet. The rooms are clean but could be updated down the road. The price was perfect for the area and the breakfast was great for our team. I would highly recommend this hotel due to the location and the amazing staff.

    « Pleasant Hotel »

This was our second stay at this Best Western and we will stay there again. It is very close to retail stores, good restaurants and attractions. There was a problem with the air conditioner the first night. We did inform the front desk, and when we returned that evening to our room only to find that nothing had been done to repair the AC in the room. The front desk clerk upgraded up to the queen suite immediately. We were pleased with the room upgrade. The breakfast was good, plenty of hot water for showers. Overall, a pleasant stay visiting family and friends.

Would DEFINATELY recommend!!!!

« This is the best looking place in the whole area »

The decor is fresh, the amenities are fantastic and the staff is great. Parking lot was rough but they're clearly resurfacing it to be as nice as the rest of the hotel which appears to have had a recent facelift. No place is a prefect 5 stars, but the value here is incredible and I'd recommend this place to anyone.

« Best Western has come a long way, this hotel was fantastic! »

Recently stayed here for 2 nights with my mom, sister, teenage nieces and 4 year old son. We had a suite with 2 double beds and a pull out couch. It was huge, with way more space than we needed. A small fridge, microwave and kitchen were in the room as well as a desk, large vanity and bathroom. We also had 2 TV's which was helpful with so many people. The hotel has a swimming pool which is really nice. it has a large shallow area, only 3 feet, so my 4 year old couch touch the ground while we played. The pool is clean and the are is well maintained. In this same room is a hot tub, a bunch of chairs and tables, a bathroom and even a Foosball table. Connected to the pool is an outdoor area that my nieces loved. it has a huge pergola with grills so you can cook out if you want. Plus it has tables/chairs and 2 hammocks strung up. They spent hours in the hammocks! The hotel lobby is pretty nice and it has some unique features that we just loved. They have a popcorn machine with freshly made popcorn available all day with all kinds of seasonings. They have coffee and flavored creamers always available. They also have a beverage always cold and available, on our trip it was pink lemonade. They have breakfast in the morning which is not anything special but its right in the lobby and you can make your own waffles, that was popular. They also offered what they call 'To Go Bags'. Which you could grab in the morning. Ours contained a bottle of water, an apple and a granola bar. It was a huge help to have this along as we visited local attractions. Beyond all of this, the hotel in general is very well kept and much nicer than I have come to know Best Western's. They have stepped up their game it seems. The best part about this hotel was how friendly the staff was. The front desk staff in particular was extremely professional and welcoming. I heard them compliment people, ask about their days, offer help in many different ways, and so many other appreciated services. They were really fantastic. Even the other staff we came across, such as the cleaning staff, was very very friendly. We were really impressed with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I thought this hotel was an amazing deal for what we paid. We had a Jr. suite for just me and the wife and it was an amazing time. I was so glad that we picked this option. The people here were great with customer service and very helpful throughout the stay.

    « Awesome customer service!!! »

My wife and i came to holland michigan for a getaway from Indianapolis. We were greeted by the front desk staff immediately. They were very helpful with all our questions. The Jr. Suite was plenty for my wife and I. We interacted with all the cleaning staff and they all would go out of their way to help. Then, I drove all the way home tonight and realized my keys were not here. Brandon immediately told me not to worry, because he found them and would get them next day delivered all the way to Indianapolis. I would recommend this place, it'd very clean and comfortable bed. We will be back

« DO NOT STAY HERE! »

DO NOT STAY HERE! Would not refund the money due to a soccer tournament cancelling. We had every intention of staying but they would not budge on their policy when the cancellation was beyond our control. THERE WAS NO compromise. I even suggested one where we could go 50/50 and we would bring the boys back. Lots of colleges to visit in the area. NOTHING! This hotel is the most unsympathetic group I have ever met. Also the tournament cancelled 2 weeks before the event. You can't tell me that over Memorial Day weekend that those rooms would not have been booked. For goodness sake it is in beautiful Holland MI. Go ahead and enjoy the rooms that you got paid TWICE for!

    « Stay away! »

Good location but rooms smelled bad and the air conditioning didn't work very well and struggled to cool the room down to a comfortable temperature. We could hear the people walking in the room above us and pretty sure they were just walking and not jumping around or trying to be loud. The toilet handle to flush was broken and the room just seemed dirty and not cleaned very well. I will not stay here again and do not recommend to any family or friends.

    « Nice Hotel »

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel and were generally pleased with the stay. Any complaints I have are because I inadvertantly chose a handicapped accessable room, with a roll in shower, which was very inconvenient. That, of course, is not the fault of the hotel, and this might have been perfect for a person with mobility difficulties. It was impossible to shower without soaking the bath mat, and getting water on the floor, even though there was a 2" or so lip on the shower area. There were also no hooks on the back of the door, which was inconvenient. The accessability issue aside, the bed was comfortable and it was a quiet hotel for sleeping. The breakfast was plentiful, but there wasn't a lot of room to eat. Thankfully, there was an overflow room for seating, close enough to return for refills, if desired. They do offer omelets made to order, but the wait time was 20 minutes, so I chose not to get one. My husband did, and wasn't pleased when it finally came. He said it was very blackened on the outside, and not very tasty. To be fair to the hotel, this was during the Tulip Festival and the hotel was full. It probably wouldn't be like this during a more down time. The location was easy to reach, and very convenient to downtown and other attractions. We would probably consider staying here again, if in the area.

    « Great staff...but, very poorly managed »

We arrived shortly after check-in time (3:00) and had to wait until 4:15 for our room to be ready. The room appeared clean upon entry, but on closer inspection, we found it actually quite dirty. The carpet looked as if it had not been really cleaned in a long time. The bedspread was stained, which I understand could still have technically been "clean," but it does not leave a favorable impression. The front desk staff was friendly and nice, but seemed to have very little information about area attractions, restaurants, etc... As far as the (included) breakfast goes, I considered it to be quite below average in quality. Quantity seemed good at first glance, but what looked like muffins from Costco or similar (wrapped individually as in a convenience store) were unappetizing and "cheap." There were two gentlemen making omlettes, which seemed O.K., but for me did not make up for the rest of the below average fare offered. I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this hotel to others because I would not stay again.

« Very nice, and not like all the others (in a good way) »

We've stayed at a lot of Best Westerns, but never one like this. You can tell that it's different as soon as you pull into the parking lot and see the carved black bears climbing up the building and the large carved bear by the door. The floor in the lobby is charming: tiles that have moose, bears, and the like on them. The front desk and the breakfast room continue the up-north, rustic feel. The ceilings are lower than usual on all three floors, but we didn't mind that at all. It added to the cozy, rustic atmosphere, and made walking up the stairs easy when we didn't feel like taking the elevator. Our room was spotlessly clean. There were lots of nice towels, a curved shower bar, and a spacious refrigerator. The wireless internet was the fastest of any hotel we remember. The young men who checked us in and did maintenance in the evening were delightful. We had trouble with our TV, and they did everything in their power to get the thing working. It suddenly started working, so everything was fine. The blankets on our bed were nice, but slippery! They slid off the bed during the night. If we stay there again, I'll tuck them in! There was no gluten free cereal at breakfast, and there were so many things that contained gluten right next to foods that I could have eaten (like the eggs) that it made me nervous about cross contamination. Stocking gluten free cereal would be nice. Overall, this is a very nice hotel that we would visit again.

    « Superior service »

VIsited Holland, MI, for the Tulip Festival on May 8 and 9, 2017, with a group of 40. We were greeted on the bus by a young woman, I think was Elizabeth, who was energetic and affable. She was genuinely (not "seemed") interested in welcoming us as a group to the Best Western. As we disembarked the bus, one of our group started to trip and Scott anticipated it from where he stood (holding open the door for us) and grabbed her so she didn't fall. Once inside the motel, the friendliness and helpfulness continued with other staff. "Anything you want, we'll get. Just let us know." Several people in our group made friends with the staff, learning about their individual situations and desires. I've traveled all over the Americas and Europe, stayed at places as posh as Ritz-Carlton's (Paris, St. Louis, and so on) and have never seen as friendly and happy a staff a staff as I experienced at this Best Western. Kudos to BW. Rooms are average. Decor was attractive. Thankfully, the fridge didn't keep me awake. Note to BW: Make this staff your trainers.

    « Tulip festival visit »

the most important aspect of this trip requested during the initial reservation was totally ignored - that being a request for a first floor room to facilitate special needs, I would not have booked this stay here otherwise. Everything else about the stay was terrific especially the staff.

« Hotel is Clean, Employees are friendly »

My two lady friends and me were in Holland for the Tulip Festival. It was not my first choice of Hotels, but the other closer hotels were all booked up. That said, the drive to town, about 3 miles. Wasn't bad and once you were there you could walk the town and grab a trolley to take you to the tulip attractions and various tours. I gave this hotel 2 Stars but I feel they have a long way to go for a 4 star rating. I will first list the good things about this hotel because they deserve credit for what they do right. First the Hotels desk clerks were very nice and did try to be helpful. The Hotel was very cleaned and well maintained, the complementary breakfast was good and there was a variety of food selections, including a omelet bar. There was also an inviting looking pool inside. Now for the Downside of the hotel which are numerous! First of all, our check in time was 3:00, and our rooms were not ready until after 5:00. Leaving us and many guest to fend for themselves while waiting for their rooms to be available. We felt this was unacceptable and my friend demanded a discount for our inconvenience which they gave us. We thought it would be nice to have a cup of coffee in the lobby while we were waiting, but the coffee was cold, and so was the water for tea. There should be hot coffee and tea at all times in the Lobby!!! The young men at the desk were nice, and although they tried they were not not very helpful. I feel they need more training in customer service and there should have been a manager around to supervise them.. all-in-all, I think the hotel was poorly run. The management is at fault, and should have been better prepared for the busy Tulip Festival season. I would not stay here again. They really should get their act together.

    « Horrible management »

Management sucked, the employees were great but I saw how the management treated its employees and I was in shock! One employee I saw walk off crying after their higher up manger had yelled at her. Definitely not something I was expecting in such a family friendly area. Other than that room was clean pool was nice and food was great! Just feel like something fishy is going on with the management.

Our favorite hotel in Holland Michigan! Staff is exceptional and very friendly and welcoming. Anything you need they will get for you. The daily buffet breakfast is very good. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are soft. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is located close to everything. Pool area is clean and very nice. Exceptional value for the dollar.

    « Reunion weekend »

At check in we were given a "snack pack" which was very nice! We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and neat. Everything functioned normally. Expected the hairdryer to be hanging with the iron but it was actually in the bottom drawer of the cabinet under the TV. Only one complaint: the room next to ours (adjoining) was rented to a man with a dog. Would have been okay if the dog hadn't been a yipper, and woke us up at 7AM on Sunday morning, followed by someone playing with the dog and its squeaky toy.

    « Very fine »

I read a few of the other reviews and I wonder if I stayed at the same hotel. When I rate a hotel, I base my stars on how well they do what they do. It's not a 5 star Ritz but to me it was a 5 star Best Western. It was reasonably priced, close enough to the highway and to the town, and the room and bathroom were completely clean. I too had Rhonda to check me in and she was helpful and efficient. My impression on entering the room was... ahhh, ok good... and I didn't have need to change it. There was a clean mini fridge, microwave, and 4 plump pillows on the bed. There was a small coffee machine but given that there was full coffee service in the vestibule downstairs, I didn't bother with it. When I discovered I had not brought my phone charger, I asked at the desk if they had one they could lend me and the management team member tracked one down for me. Breakfast in the morning included cereal, eggs, bacon, breads, omelets, coffee, juice and who knows what else. I have stayed at many hotels that, at best, served coffee and a cold bagels. So not to negate other's experiences but mine was well worth what I spent, the other guests that I saw seemed to be smiling, and I had a good night sleep.

Stayed one night with my daughter while visiting Hope College. Scott upgraded us to a jacuzzi room, offered to bring in our luggage and was very friendly and welcoming. Complimentary snacks and beverages in the lobby were appreciated and the morning breakfast was just perfect. The hotel is older, but for the price and service, it can't be beat.

    « Great hotel »

Loved staying at this hotel. Great location. Very close to Holland Beach and even closer to downtown. Everything you need is in walking distance. Best Western is always my choice wherever I travel. The hotels are always clean and staff is friendly.

« Upbeat fun place to stay »

First, the front desk staff are amazing, fun and personable. This hotel has a warm cottage feel. compfortable rooms and beds. A better than average breakfast. A nice pool area with a time alotted for adults only. The internet has been dependable during my stay. A couple places within walking distance to eat. I would stay here again.

« Wonderful service at a great rate! »

Every time we stay we are impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff is. When you add in a nice pool and a wonderful breakfast at great rate it ends up being the perfect hotel for a quick family get-away or out of town guests!

« Great family hotel with super-friendly staff »

Super easy check-in/check-out (using BW points). Polite and helpful staff, all staff at reception, breakfast, and house-keeping were very friendly and cared well for their guests. Super-comfortable beds with clean linen. Rooms done daily, new towels provided daily, and more towels provided when our kids were using swimming pool. Hot tub and swimming pool had warm temperatures for kids (and adults) to relax, and acceptable water temperature in bathroom showers. Internet worked great. Mini fridge and microwave useful for families with kids. Lastly, very nice breakfast with a variety of foods, especially the "Omelet Station". What can I say - it was the best omelet we've had in a while. The cooks were always smiling while taking orders and delivered omelets to the guest tables. Cheap food and shopping within walking distance, countless family-oriented restaurants and fast-food chains, plazas and boutique shops, convenience stores, gas stations, Walmart, Lowe's, Old Navy, etc. First visit to Holland but seemed like a safe city for families with kids/teenagers and Best Western made our stay unforgettable. Will certainly be returning to BW Holland. Recommended A+

The facility was clean. The front desk service was friendly and helpful. One of the nicer and warmer indoor pools I have been in. We really appreciated the private room entrance that made it very pet friendly.

« Friendly staff, nice hotel for reasonable price. »

Basic but nice, quiet room, with all the standard amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff, with good recommendations. They were even cooking fresh breakfast, which I haven't seen much at other similar price hotels. Fair selection of breakfast food otherwise. Pool is nice size and comfortable. Very family friendly.

We had a great time at a great location. It was really close to a lot of restaurants and other ammenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. The weather was also great and close to downtown.

Service was terrible. I went to deal for food and was told to go back up to my room that I was not allowed in lobby because of my cancer he didn't want anyone seeing me because the rest of my hair is falling out.

« Great hotel at reasonable price »

Kids were on spring break and we wanted some place local to enjoy the pool/hot tub and not have to clean the house! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was warm (and open 24 hours!) and hot tub perfect, with nice music playing in the background.

    « Fabulous »

Everything was wonderful, bath water pool, hot tub very hot with great jets. Rooms were very comfortable and so were the beds and pillows. Staff was over the top helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. We are definitely going back there to stay!! Loved the atmosphere!

    « Great experience »

BW+ accommodated my men's and women's college cross country team during an NCAA championship meet in the area. We could not have had a better experience. Check-in and check-out were graciously, efficiently and professionally handled. The staff was courteous, friendly and welcoming. The rooms were quite nice; breakfast items were plentiful, varied and perfect for pre-race. We were even given Grab & Go bags at check-out for post-race snacks. And, you were quite conveniently located for everything we needed to do. Thanks for taking a level of stress out of having a team on the road. Head Coach

The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Room ok. They could've been cleaner. Pool was cold, but staff tried to figure that out. Continental breakfast was delicious. Wi-if did not work for us. I did like that the rooms were quiet.

« Unsafe Conditions and over billing »

I stayed at this hotel back in September. When we arrived the bathroom light was not working and the entrance door to the room from the exterior was not working. This is the reason we booked this hotel was for easy access. When they changed the light bulb they did not attach the light properly and it crashed and broke into pieces all over the bathroom floor. Needless to say with children in the room we had to depart early before checkout. Then over a month later they charge the room fee and add extra charges for a dog. We did not have a dog!!!! Called manager 3 times no response. He was busy with an inspection of the hotel.

    « Comfortable, affordable lodging. »

I needed to find a room last-minute; called Best Western, and booked one for a reasonable price. Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. And the complimentary breakfast and coffee were exactly what I needed to continue my road trip.

« Best Hotel in Michigan!! »

I stayed here for 4 days in late October 2016. The hotel is made to look like a lodge. They have a fireplace in the lobby. They had beautiful stone and wood work outside, as it was inside, the hotel. I really like the wood carvings of the bears and animals that they had. They also had carvings of bears climbing the balconies at the hotel which I thought was a cute touch. The room was very large and spacious. We had a double bedroom. I had a microwave, a coffee maker, and a mini fridge. The bathroom is very nice and the water pressure was great. It's a very clean hotel. Breakfast was excellent. They had a large variety of items to choose from: eggs, waffles, cold and hot cereal, yogurt, juice, muffins, etc. The staff was excellent by far the nicest and most helpful staff I have ever encountered in my travels. Two staff members in particular, Elizabeth and Patrick, from the front desk were extremely nice and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable about the sites and attractions in the area. Elizabeth always made sure there was fresh coffee for me in the lobby after I mentioned that I was a coffee aficionado. Little things like remembering that make my stay so much better. Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone in the Holland, Michigan area to stay at Best Western Plus. I've stayed at many hotels, and this hotel is the most visually appealing, cleanest, and friendliest hotel I've ever stayed at, by far.

« Nothing fancy but a great value »

This inn fit the bill after a 3 hour flight to Chicago followed by a long drive around the tip of Lake Michigan to Holland. The beds were excellent and provided a good night's sleep after a long day. Close to downtown Holland with a large mall across the street. A very good value.

    « stay here »

Nice hotel, quite location, friendly desk help, close to highways and shopping. Comfortable bedding, clean rooms with refrigerator and microwave. Standard hotel breakfast was ample and hot. If given a choice to return to this hotel, we would stay here again.

« Not worth for the price »

Rooms Rates are same as other Good Hotels next door but not the quality. AC was noisy all night, Free internet doesn't connect at all, definitely needs remodeling, Indoor Swimming pool was OK. Location is good though.

    2
    « The bathrooms need a remodeling »

The hotel staff was very friendly, but the bathroom needs to be completely remodeled. Dated and dirty was our bathtub/shower and the tile floor needed a good cleaning. Also, the couch in the room need a good cleaning, I did not put my suitcase on it with the number of stains on it. The room needed a new mattress and bedding as well.

    3
« Would not stay here again »

I would not stay at this hotel again. I was disappointed in the lack of care from the customer service/check in counter. The hot tub and pool were not working, but it was the one thing I was looking forward to. Staff were not too friendly. They weren't rude, just not friendly. The water pressure is too low. It was just not a good experience here for my family.

    1
    « Below par »

They started off with no one at the desk for 5 minutes after our arrival, then they put us in a handicapped room without asking. The room was non smoking but smelled of Febreeze. Liked that each lamp had 2 electrical outlets--handy for devices. Internet was sub par--kept kicking me off. There were no blankets in the room. I wouldn't stay here again.

    4
« good but needs repairs »

Room was clean and comfortable and hotel staff was friendly and eager to help with any questions or needs. Only downfall to my stay was the need to use the fitness center and machines and TVs needed repaired. This is a busy older/updated motel and is comfortable and attractive but should keep things maintained for the business they do there.

« Great service, clean, comfortable rooms, great value overall »

We booked two rooms for two nights at this location, while on business. The hotel has been recently renovated and we found the rooms to be very clean, nicely appointed and our stay was comfortable and uneventful. Great service from friendly, accommodating, and helpful staff. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Lovely hotel with warm atmosphere, good service, clean and well appointed rooms. Had not stayed here before, but traveled to Holland several times. Would certainly return and the warm breakfast offered with your stay is good, well presented and the area pleasant just as the comfortable lobby seating area.

    « Great Hotel »

Great Hotel , Customer service was fantastic and the breakfast the best I have ever eaten at a hotel 6 stars would stay there anytime. The atmosphere of the hotel was the greatest expessially seeing the little wooden bears all around the building

« Good medium priced hotel »

The location is good depending on what you are doing in Holland. It is next to a mall so there are many restaurants nearby. The room rates are reasonable. It is pretty standard for a Best Western and it is well maintained and clean. I had a room on the back side so I was away from the parking lot and overlooked a green area. Good complimentary breakfast with both hot and cold items. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions. Hotel is close to Dutch Village and just a few minutes from Windmill Island. I would recommend it.

« Staff needs better training and better organization skills »

A lot of smaller (unrelated) issues made this stay an unpleasant one. Arrived at 3:05 pm and had reservations for two rooms. First thing I was told by front desk is "oh, those rooms are not ready". Then she proceeds to actually check the computer, and asks a co-worker to "go check if the rooms are ready..." and turns out the rooms are in fact ready. I was the only person at the front desk, yet it takes almost 15 minutes to check in. Requested a crib for our 1 year old toddler well in advance. Asked about this after checking in, and was told we'd send one right up. She asks another co-worker to get a crib in the room, who reluctantly agrees after making a grumpy face... right in front of me. One hour later, no crib, and I go down to the front desk to check, and was told "oh sorry, we don't have a crib available right now".... Huh? Luckily we had a King bed and there was enough room for the baby to sleep between us. On the positive side, the "Jr king suite" was large and clean (although bathroom seemed like something from a roadside motel), and breakfast was ok. Service wise, I would expect more, especially for the prices they are charging. Have stayed at plenty of Best Westerns across the country and this is actually the first time we've been disappointed.

    « Very Pleased »

Stayed 2 nights. Breakfast was standard fare. Room was very nice, updated carpet, pillows, bed was comfy. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Pool was excellent and warm. Hot tub was not open, but didn't care. Everything nearby and even walkable. Beach close. My only compliant was the bathtub as others in reviews have noted. They tub was gross and felt like I was going to fall. Also, housekeeping didn't clean it during their service, there was sand left in it.

    « Recently remodeled »

When we first arrived our key wasn't working to our outside door (the room next door had a working outside door). We had to go in and use the inside door. Inconvenient, but when we got in our room it was clean and the beds were comfy. The carpet, linens, and decorations were all new and modern looking. The light in our bathroom wasn't working. They promptly sent someone down to replace the bulb. The next morning though, as we were going down to breakfast the light fell out of the ceiling and broke, the lightbulb was shattered across the bathroom floor. We told the front desk and they were going to send someone down to clean it up as soon as we had all our belongings out. The breakfast was great, there was a staff member constantly replacing, and filling up the food.

    « Nice hotel ! »

I read a lot of the reviews and a lot where really negative and I am not sure why. It was clean and well kept . The pool was nice and they even had some hammocks on the back patio . A good deal for the money and breakfast had a lot to offer . I say stay and enjoy .

    4
« Very comfortable and clean »

The hotel was clean, the staff was very courteous and helpful. The pool needed some cleaning but considering it was Labor Day weekend and we checked in on a Monday night, there probably wasn't time as it sounded like the check in clerk was the only one on duty at that time of night.

« Nice clean hotel close to Holland attractions »

This hotel felt and looked nice and had excellent service. The lobby, hallways, and room were all 100% clean. I felt like I was somewhere pricier. There was an issue with being assigned the wrong room, but this was the fault of Booking.com. The receptionist did all she could to rectify this, and I left the hotel happy. It was only about 10 minutes to drive into downtown from here, and right off the major US Route that gets you in and out of Holland. I would stay here again.

    4
« Always wanted to visit Holland »

Had a good experience right off the bat with check-in. It was efficient and the receptionist was friendly and polite. The King-Jr. Suite was more than adequate and it was very clean and inviting. The breakfast buffet was the typical food that you would find at these hotels but it was tasty and more than enough to start our day with! I used the Fitness Center and it was clean and had the equipment I prefer to use, the treadmill. The only down side was that the elevator quit working on our last night there and was still not operational when we checked out the next morning. We were on the 3rd floor so it was a bit of an inconvenience. Upon checkout, Natalie was very sweet and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

The room was very clean & it had all the ammenities that we required( as my wife is very picky) Comfy beds & no street noise was evident as we were close to a major highway Breakfast was good with a nice variety for all ages, you didn't need to go hungry to start your day THANX

« A gem unless you want routine cleaning services. »

Four days in a row the our room was cleaned upon request. Our friends room was cleaned each day at the same time of the day. Our was not. Other than that, everything was perfect. The breakfast was yummy, the coffee warm, and water refreshing.

    « Here for a wedding »

We have stayed here before , the rooms are clean with ample towels. The breakfast had a great selection, even fresh strawberries and blueberries. We appreciated that. Hallways were extremely warm, and looking a little tired . Overall it's ok to stay at, however , the prices were very steep. And definitely over priced for the area, and lodging.

« Clean Hotel, staff need more training! »

We were a group of friends staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean and bed comfy but the staff seems a little out of it. On check in asked about the sofa bed and the guy checking us in said sure there is one in your room. When we got to the room there was no extra pillows/towels/blankets for us. I asked the housekeeping lady in the hallway for a pillow, she said she didn't have any clean pillows for us to use. I went to reception to ask the guy that checked us in could we have some extra towels/blankets and his reply was "oh are you using the sofa bed?" I had had this conversation with him literally 10 minutes previous! He said I could pick up a pack later in the day! Overall clean hotel, good breakfast and not far from the beaches and saugatuck.

    « Terrible hotel! »

It has been a long time since we have been in such a poor hotel and this place takes the cake! We arrived at 6:35 pm to find no one at the front desk. This is after a 475 mile drive and we have dinner reservations for 7:30. Finally person comes to the desk and says our room is not finished being cleaned. We had three rooms reserved and one of the three were ready. I ask if we can have another room so we can freshen up but told no they are assigned which later we were told this was not true. We were told the next morning we should have been given a room that was ready. Poor training! We take everything to the third floor to the one room that was available so my wife can get ready for dinner. Then after we get checked in we take it to floor two after they give us a room. After dinner we arrive for round 2 at 10:15 and this time a line at the desk and no one was available because he was addressing problems such as non working keys and remotes that didn't work. Ask for a wake up call at 6:15 am. Finally get checked in at 10:45. Guy says we have been trying to call you for 2 hours to say our room was ready! No one had a missed call so where was he calling? The room where we left our bags and there was no one in??? Next morning I wake up at 6:55 because there was no wake up call when requested. The guy wrote it down per my coworker but never entered for the call! We need to be on the road for 7:30 for a business meeting which we were late thanks to the poor service! Also we were not able to eat breakfast. Person at check out gave us a 30% discount but really that was not satisfactory but this issue was not her fault. She requested the GM call myself and coworker to resolve. The GM called my coworker and he accepted the call for both parties and offered us another stay which had to be used by years end. This doesn't work because we will not be working in the area for a year. This doesn't resolve the problem at this subpar hotel. Because my coworker booked with Hotel.com they gave him a 60.00 credit. Nice on their end but doesn't really resolve issues. How does a hotel not have rooms ready at 6:30 pm? Being sold out and short handed doesn't cut it with me. Call others in and where is the manager to get things completed? How is there only one desk person working during high season when you know your sold out? I will never stay in a Best Western again and this experience reminded me why we never stay at this hotel chain. It is apparent that this hotel is about saving money. It is not fair to the front desk employees that have to deal with a line of unhappy customers.

    5
    « Great Place »

Only issue we had was not the fault of the hotel - road construction and closure caused some difficulty getting there. Our stay was great! Pool was nice. We skipped the included breakfast as we had already stayed at a couple of other BW hotels on our road trip, and were tired of being served up the same choices every day. The food was good, just repetitive.

    2
« Hotel is not what it used to be before »

old, and it needs upgrading. The price they charge does not justify the quality of the service and all what they offer. Breakfast is very poor. Rooms did not have shampoos and toilet paper was running out. The overall look of the lobby is so cheesy that I am not sure if they had hired a decorator or they have done it all by themselves, but definitely not a place I would come back again.

    4
    « Pleasantly surprised »

Clean rooms, excellent staff support and the breakfast had biscuits and gravy: a morning staple. Good job guys, I'm talking to my travel guy today to use you more often. Also the decor was pretty unique and it was obvious that there was an inherent theme to the decor, thus not making it as "cookie cutter" as most of the hotels I've been in.

    4
    « One night stay »

Found this hotel last minute but there was an issue at check in. Staff was helpful in adjusting price. Upon entering room, there was an odd odor which I assumed was either cleaning products or some sort of carpet cleaner. It wasn't unpleasant, just odd. The light switch had a motion sensor and the light turned off during my daughters shower. The toilet ran all night but I didn't want the hassle of getting maintenance to fix it or change rooms so we just kept the door shut (I did mention this to the front desk at check out). The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast, breakfast attendant was very nice. Can't beat the location, lots of food and shopping very close. I would love to give a 5 out of 5 review but there were just some issues that should be fixed. All in all its a decent hotel and I would stay here again if in the area.

« It might be West but it is not really Best »

We decided on a last minute visit to Holland for a few days. Hotel room availability was pretty sparse. This hotel had rooms available. I took a look at this hotels website and it looked OK so I booked a room for two nights despite what I thought to be an excessive rate. The exterior of the hotel looks nice as does the lobby and hallways. The website states ?oversized guest rooms?, ours was not unless you consider a typical Super 8 room ?oversized?. When we got into the room it becomes clear they have done a lot of decorating but very little updating. The old AC/Heater unit was missing the door that covers the controls and the grill was broken out of the unit giving us a good look at the dust on the coils. During our three day, two night stay we ran the thermostat set at 66 degrees. The room was somewhat cool but it never got cold. The room was also very humid. Part of the reason might be the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. There is a switch for a fan and a vent for a fan but there was not a working fan. From the looks of the bubbling paint on the bathroom walls I would say the fan has not worked for a while. I have no problem with low-flow shower heads but ours was a no-flow shower head. I have seen water flow out of watering cans with more pressure than the water coming out of our shower head. Another unique feature in the bathroom is the light switch, it is motion activated. When you have the shower curtain closed to take a shower the switch cannot detect any motion and turns the light off! This happened to all four of us both days. The beds were OK, the pillows were OK, the TV was fine except the batteries in our remote were dead and I had to ask the housekeeper for another one. Wi-Fi is a little faster than the old dial-up but not by much. As others have mentioned the breakfast selection was very sparse. Their website states ?deluxe hot breakfast?, I didn't think it was deluxe. I mentioned that to a hotel staff member and I was told they stocked everything that was ?required?. There was one obligatory waffle maker (most hotels I have stayed at have at least two). I filled a paper cup with waffle batter and poured it into the waffle iron. Then I looked for a trash receptacle for the paper cup. Most hotels that have a waste receptacle next to the waffle maker, here you have to walk about 25 feet one way or 25 feet the other way from the waffle maker to dispose of the cup. Every single person that makes a waffle has to walk half way across the room one way or the other to dispose of the paper cup. Similar issue with the milk dispenser, there are no cups (or a place for cups) next to the milk dispenser. If you want milk you have to walk over to where the juice dispenser is to get a cup and then walk back over to the milk dispenser. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly. Our room and the hotel overall was clean. The location was great for our visit. I would say this would be a good place for a one night stay.

    « Quick trip »

First off would I like to say I generally stay at Hampton Inn because of my rewards but they were booked up. I have stayed at Best Western in the past and it was always mediocre. I would like to say I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel was very comfortable and inviting, the staff was exceptional and the breakfast was great. They were very busy and still were very much on top of things. The pool was a little colder than usual and she heard me say that to my family and she instantly jumped on it ( the heater was just repaired). The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The only complaint is the shower head pressure, was not very good. I would definitely stay here again. Price was average compared to the others in the area.

« Not much to say »

We got in late so I really can't say much. Booked through hotwire and got a two bed room. We didnt get in until 11 or so and checked out at 8. Beds were decent. Breakfast was your standard hotel hot breakfast.

« Nice hotel in a great city »

The hotel staff was helpful and the bed was comfortable. The room seemed clean. It is a in good location near downtown Holland. The price was fair too. We only stayed one night but the room was quiet at night so that was a positive.

« Nice place to stay, convenient location »

I stayed here for a wedding because it was cheaper than the hotel where the wedding room block was. I was pleased about the size of the room - it had a fridge and couch in it. The room was clean. The staff was nice. It did take a little extra time to sign in because the very nice lady that was working at the desk was by herself and the phone was ringing nonstop. I loved the wooden bears outside and in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel, but it is pricey in the summer!

    « Fine stay »

Not a bad stay. Glad they had elevator which made getting to 2nd floor with luggage much easier. Housekeeping was OK not great. I actually saw a couple of ants in my room. Would be nice to have TV channel guide. You just had to scan channels to figure out what they were. Also would have been nice to have a sleep timer on tv

    « Decent pet-friendly option in Holland »

Visited on a recent weekend for a softball tournament and my stay was okay overall. I was specifically seeking a hotel that allowed pets as I wanted to bring my new kitten. There was a $20/night extra fee for pets. Check in and out was easy; staff were friendly. Hotel is located off the main drag but close to lots of restaurants and shopping choices. Room was good size and had both exterior and interior entry doors which was convenient. I was able to park directly outside the door. Towels and toiletries were very nice. Free breakfast appeared fine; I did not partake. A few wrinkles: Carpets were damp when we arrived - perhaps they had been recently shampooed due to this being a pet-friendly room. Desk chair had a broken wheel which made it hard to move. Walls seemed not to be very well sound-proofed. Could hear neighbors conversations. All in all I could accept the drawbacks and would probably stay again if I planned to bring my kitten on the road again.

« Made Holland the best of Michigan!! »

24 hour pool/hot tub access, wow!! Loved it! They know how to take care of you! Grab and go snack bags available on request (not instead of a meal), just ask and get one. Love it! Clean rooms, nice décor inside and out. Open breakfast area. Apples and snacks always available. Coffee and other drinks 24/7. When I ran them out of coffee 2 times, they never hesitated to get more. They never complained either. One man stated "we'll make more, that's what it's here for". I felt like a "guest", not an inconvenience. Mints in the business center. I will return with pleasure. Close to everything!!!

« Girls weekend trip to Michigan »

My friend and I drove from Birmingham, Al to Holland,Mi for a wedding. We were extremely tired after the 13hr drive up. When we arrived at the hotel, Jessica was working the front desk. She welcomed us with a big smile and was so friendly. We had booked a double, but when we checked in they no longer had any doubles so Jessica offered us a suite. It was so nice, we were completely exhausted and to have this wonderful room to relax in was such a blessing.. Jessica's attitude, friendly personality, and calming personality made our check in a breeze. The hotel was very clean and convenient. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was very good. I will definitely stay again if ever in that area.

Do you want to enjoy Holland? Stay here. Pat at the front desk was amazing. He knew all the tourist attractions and local eateries. We visited during major construction and with his guidance we avoided most delays. The staff there goes above and beyond. Rooms very well taken care of. Breakfast was awesome and almost to much. The pool is an oasis and opened 24hrs. The bears that decorate the outside are homemade and well done. My whole family enjoyed our stay here. One of the most beautiful cities in the USA. And this hotel lets you enjoy it all.

    « Very nice hotel »

My stay was very nice. I liked the 24hr access to the pool and hot tub. Reservations had booked my stay for the previous night but the front desk staff found me a room for the night and were very helpful with whatever I needed. I would stay again.

I wish I could write a great review but I can't. I stayed three nights, first night there were no wash cloths and no shampoo. It was late so I just made do. Night number 2, lots of little bugs in the bathroom. Went to front desk before leaving for the day, lady with blonde hair stated they "might" be able to do something about it this day. She was very unfriendly and obviously needs training in customer service. Returned to room later in the day, bugs were still on the bathroom floor, still no shampoo but they did leave wash cloths. I went to the desk and spoke to a sweet young lady and she stated that the manager was not available but that she would let HR know and I could speak to her. I waited in the lobby, sweet girl comes back and states that the HR person was cleaning rooms and that was a greater priority. I hope that the HR person didn't mean for her to say her exact words but....it might have been better just to say that she was unavailable right now and she would have her get back with me as soon as possible.

« Cost twice as much as TripAdvisor said it would. »

We came to Holland, Michigan for the first time ever, to have a short birthday/getaway. The hotel was clean, our room was roomy and clean (a little too over scented with an air freshener odor), and our air conditioner was quiet, but high functioning. The pool and hot tub were also clean and well maintained. Breakfast bar was pleasant, clean and tasty. Our PROBLEM was that we booked this hotel through tripadvisor. a month before, at a rate of less than $200 night, but upon check in...when I said Id like to pay cash up front and not charge the credit card holding the room.... the front desk informed me the rate was $269.99 plus state and city tax totaling over $300 a night. When I almost choked, he said that was their weekend rate and all the other hotels in area were also booked up and around that rate. I didnt walk out of lobby to call around and verify that because I felt worried we'd end up with no room at all plus was tired and ready to relax, so I paid the ridiculous rate. The next morning upon checkout, I questioned this again, and asked what the rate was the weekend before and also the next weekend to come --- it turned out to be WAY below the $270 we were charged -- and Best Western claimed that because we booked through trip advisor they couldnt change anything or help us. Bye Bye Best Western and So-long TripAdvisor.

We booked this hotel last minute for four nights over the July 4th weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. We stayed in a suite, which was very large with a full separate living room and a kitchenette. They had a nice breakfast every morning and had coffee, lemon water and popcorn in the lobby. The pool was nice and the small enclosed patio behind the pool area made for a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the sun for a short break. The location was convenient and the staff were friendly. While it is still a 3 star hotel, it was a nice 3 star hotel.

« Good place to stay in Holland MI »

The BW Plus is difficult to find due to construction on Hwy 31. Once you figure out the problems from the gps and learn not to try to make any left turns, it is not too bad. Breakfast is adequate. We chose a local restaurant instead and would recommend the same if you have the time. Good neighborhood, great room, zooming wifi.

Very nice people. The hotel is in good location. close to the mall. There is popcorn machine and you get free popcorn. Nice breakfast. Indoor heated pool and hot tub open 24 hours. The rooms were good size

    « 3 rooms later! »

We booked this stay as family vacation before ending our maternity leave and we wanted to splurge so we booked one of the higher end suites. I called the front desk before booking to confirm all the amenities we wanted were included in the room, specifically a jetted tub and sofa sleeper. Once we got there the room in-fact did not have a jetted tub so we asked to switch rooms. Once they got us into a new smaller room, I unpacked and pulled out the sofa bed for my kids only to find grease stains on the sheets and mattress. I of course called again and asked to switch rooms. Once she personally inspected the room she gave us the key and sent us on our way. After unpacking we noticed the couch cushions had stains on them but at this point we decided we wouldn't be using the couch cushions so we could let that slide. Once getting into the bathroom, the tub had mold around it and a big sticky residue on the bottom where it looked like a mat had been glued down at some point. Also we found bugs in the tub twice They were not bed bugs but I have no idea what kind they were. During the second day of our stay, I asked the front desk about a price difference in the room we booked ($223/night) and the one we ended up in. She told me the one we ended up in was $130/night but since I booked it partially with reward points I couldn't get the price change unless the company handling the reward points called them directly to negotiate. I spent 45 minutes on the phone since no one at the rewards company had never heard of this happening. Long story short whoever working the front desk told the reward company that the rooms were the same price so no price change can be given. Just a few other points to make: 3 days straight I had to ask for pool towels (one time asking 3 people before heading to the linens room myself). The lady working the breakfast was fantastic, very polite and courteous. The janitor fella was also fantastic. I wish I would have gotten their names. Anyone I dealt with at the front desk made me seem like a burden even when asking where i could find good local places to eat. Also, it seemed very unsafe when i noticed the fire sprinklers in the pool had tape around them. If you are reading this Best Western, that seems like a major fire hazard that may want to be fixed ASAP. The front desk didn't seem to care since I informed them of it on the first day we stayed there and it was still there the day we left. I hope this review helps!

« Nice place, Good nights sleep »

We were on a craftbeer tour of Michigan breweries. After hitting our last stops at New Holland Brewing and Our Brewing Company, we called last minute and got 2 rooms for a decent rate. The room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was ok, but not what I normally eat. Natalie at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Another guest came down to complain about everything, basically looking for a free night's stay. I felt bad for Natalie as my motto is if things are wrong you ask kindly and most likely you will get the problem solved. We would stay at the BWPlus again on our next visit back.

Kind, friendly staff. Our suite was beyond our expectations. Breakfast was well presented and kept hot on the buffet. We will definitely consider BW Plus for our summer travels. Clean, great location for SW Michigan attractions.

    « Unacceptable »

I've reviewed this hotel before, but our most recent visit requires that I amend my earlier review. We've never been thrilled staying here, but we weren't willing to spend any more to stay elsewhere. However, on this last visit, we (and many other guests) had no hot water. Our room didn't get cleaned the first day, even though we vacated the room by noon. Neither TV in the fitness center worked. And the occupants in the room above us must have been traveling with elephants that didn't stop running, from before we got up until after we went to bed. When we determined that they were not checking out, we asked to be moved to another room. The hotel graciously upgraded us to a Jacuzzi suite on the top floor. That resolved the noise problem, but we still had no hot water. At check out, we were given paperwork showing a refund of one night as compensation for the hot water issues. However, one month later, the refund has not hit our credit card, and our phone calls are not returned. This was the final straw for us. We will not stay here again. We will be back in town next month and have made our reservations elsewhere. The savings at the Best Western simply are not worth the unacceptable conditions and the lack of customer service.

The vent fan in the bathroom did not work. The in room refg. did not work. The lighting overall was poor. The room service for a 4 night stay was poor. Breakfast items were good and the staff that I came in contact were excellent. Location is very good .

« Our First Time Staying Here -- The First of Many »

This is very nice place to stay, in a very nice city by the water. This Best Western is definitely deserving of the "plus" with an interesting western motif lobby and rooms that are spacious, clean and quiet. All of the staff deserve mention, from Drew and Christopher on the desk who greeted us as we came and went to maintenance folks like Flamur who smile was infectious. We had an upper room facing west and enjoyed a wonderful sunset which had to have been arranged by the Holland Chamber of Commerce. The hotel is convenient to both highway and downtown, and there are many restaurants and attractions to occupy one's time while staying here. In addition, parking is no problem. The hotel does have a pool and the basic fitness and business support. Finally, our room had a large soaking tub which is a wonderful feature if you've been on the road for any amount of time. Bottom line: We will return.

    « Fantastic Experience »

Reason for Travel: We were traveling as a family (myself, husband and 4.5 year old son). Road trip sort of thing to visit friends and family. Room Type: I reserved a suite with a King bed and couch pull-out. The room was clean, ready for us upon check-in, and spacious enough for the three of our butts. My son and I slept on the King bed (Rule 101 of traveling with a kid: if the child sleeps well, we sleep well), and we were very comfortable. My child actually slept in the next morning until 9 AM (not normal, so worthy of mentioning). My husband, not so much. He said the pull out wasn't all that comfortable and he got in the shower the next morning around 8 AM and the water never got warm. When I got in the shower at 10 AM, however, the water was nice and hot and I had to actually turn the water to a cooler setting. Goes to show that two guest in the same room can have a vastly different stay experience. Note: The "suite" wasn't actually a suite (i.e., meaning a separate room with walls and a door). The reality of "suite" for Best Western purposes means that the bed area was separated by two half walls on either side of the room. Amenities: The inside pool was fantastic, a bit small if you wanted to swim laps, but nice for a small get-together with some friends. They have an outside BBQ area with picnic tables and a couple hammocks. The breakfast the next morning was great and was very much appreciated by us. Staff: The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Any Issues? Only issue was the water being cold for my husband's shower. The pull out bed was not so comfy, but I've not yet met a comfy pull-out bed, so there's that. My stay & my child's stay was great. In fact, my son declared he liked hotel living. My husband's stay was OK. Overall: I would stay here again, but for my needs would maybe seek out a "suite" with 2 queen beds instead.

    « 90% of the extra mile »

At first glance the hotel looked nice. At the front desk, Patrick and Rhonda (the night auditor) were more than helpful! I had a minor issue with the television that Patrick fixed immediately and then Rhonda (I hope that is her name) was absolutely delightful when I had an issue with the computer in the business center! The reason I rate this as average is because, although the service I received was great, it wasn't impeccable. The room wasn't necessarily immaculate. I work in a Best Western, so I know things happen and people have off days. So I totally understand when little things are missed. Like hair on towels and wake up calls made for the wrong rooms. My biggest advice when going to this hotel is just making sure that they go 100% of the extra mile they are supposed to, not just 90%.

room looked nice , roomy but air was not good needs fixed . not first time here. and we had the same problem with air when we stayed before . its like they set it so you cant raise it to high. internet was very bad. had to take a cold shower. at this point we didn't even try their food. we have stayed here before and the room was very dirty . but they moved us to a new room. but now I think this is not a good place to stay to many problems. the staff did not offer to make things right . so we will be going else where from now on.

    « 5 Star in our book! »

Once you've stayed there, no other hotel will compare. Clean, very friendly and personable staff, awesome full hot complimentary breakfast every day, clean and nice indoor pool, beautifully decorated and every amenity provided. We will only stay at this hotel whenever we are in West Michigan. Great location and outside decor has hand carved wood bears climbing up the hotel and around property. Just excellent experience.

« Vacation in Holland, Mi. »

The staff was super friendly . They were willing to help with any questions. Location was good, with several restaurants a short drive or longer walk away. Close to downtown shopping, and restaurants. The only drawback for us was that the hotel had a problem with their hot water, for both nights had to shower in cold water. Make sure that you stop at Windmill island to see an original windmill brought over from Holland, still working, still producing grain.

    « Nice hotel for a Family »

Nice breakfast - eggs, bacon and biscuts and gravy were a plus to an already generous continental setup. Geared to families. Does tend to be a little noisy because of this. Room was a nice size, although the air conditioner blew directly on you as you sleep, which I did not like. The staff was very caring.

    4
    « A comfortable stop »

Hotel is located a bit outside of the downtown area with a number of other chain hotels. It is across from shopping plazas with a variety places to eat. Staff were friendly, the room and bed were comfortable, and the breakfast included a good variety of items, although nothing particularly noteworthy. The one clear minus was the shower, which provided a burst of hot water and then cooled quickly.

I will be honest I was devastated driving into the hotel. This was not what I expected BUT I was pleasantly surprised by this amazing hotel. It turned my entire trip around. The hotel was amazing. The room was clean and large and the bed was comfortable. The pool and spa were amazing and open 24 hrs! the breakfast in the morning was more than expected. The staff was friendly and even helped us find some places to view the tulips. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

    « Not great »

Shower didn't have hot water and shower was a drizzle. Found a sock under bed that wasn't mine... Floor was dirty.. Microwave was unplugged.. One thing after another .Rated raised for Tulip festival... Would not come back to this hotel. Service was not great. Pool nice but cold and no towels even after we asked for some.. Hoping that this hotel was as nice as it looked on the outside.

    « Very nice facilities »

We were there for Holland, MI Tulip Festival. It was close to downtown, super close to Dutch Village and shopping. The facility was very clean and the staff very helpful. Also, the pool was super clean and the hot tub was working great! We stayed in a King Suite which had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeepot.

    « Our Holland Stay »

My husband and I decided to take a mini-trip over to the western side of our state. We found the Best Western Inn & Suites at a very reasonable price. The outside is adorable with little bear cubs climbing the outdoor posts, the lobby was very nicely decorated and had coffee and enhanced water with fruit, cucumbers and ice available all day. Our room was very nicely decorated with a mini frig and microwave. Having never been to Holland we were very happy to find any shopping needs closely available. We visited two beach sites on Lake Michigan, not really very warm in April, but still fun to see. All in all very pleased with the hotel and reception when we arrived!!

    « friendly staff »

The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately the breakfast is not the greatest and the pool was completely over crowded. My husband and I came for a romantic get away and would have been better off staying in our room. The room was clean and the mini fridge is a nice size.

« Lots of noise, and kids running wild »

This probably would be a good place to stay, but the night we stayed there were 3 High School swim teams and 2 hockey teams there. the swim teams were apparently not well supervised and run through the halls yelling , slamming doors, there was a fight, the breakfast was a mess with the food all over, tables left a mess and it was obvious that the staff could not manage all the issues

    3
    « Inconsistent.... »

I have stayed at a couple of BW's before. It's taken me a week to decide how to write a review on this one. Each day presented itself with a different issue. So I would have to say this place was inconsistent. The housekeeping dept it probably the biggest inconsistent. Towels taken and not replaced. Areas that needed to be clean but wasn't. Coffee maker not cleaned nor stocked! The wifi was very poor. And having the need of it for work made it very difficult to get anything done. I did like is the location. Restaurants near by. Conscience stores down the road. Easy access to get to. And finally the front desk staff. Very friendly and helpful. I witnessed several times when they went above and beyond. I gave the rating of three because it still is a good place. Just needs some adjustments here and there. It has the potential of being better.

    « Valentine's Day Stay »

My husband and I stayed here for our Valentine's Day getaway, had a wonderful, relaxing evening planned alone with no interruptions. About an hour after check in we were in our room, and was almost interrupted by another guest trying to enter our room (double booked apparently). About 25 minutes later our phone rang from the front desk wanting to confirm our last name. We hang up, go back to what we were doing when the phone rang again, confirming our name again and we informed them we had someone trying to enter our room. They apologized and brought us new keys. Major inconvenience considering we were trying to enjoy eachother. Pool was warm. Hot tub out of service. Door that enters from outside has big gap that allows a lot of cold air to enter room (11° outside). Bed is comfortable. Jetted tub made up for the hot tub being out of service. Over all, for the price we paid for this room, next time we'll probably spend a little more and stay at the Hampton Inn. Staff is very nice.

    « Good but a odd design »

went on 1/30/2016. had room 312 jr king suite. Got a excellent price of $73 thru price*****. (won't be low durning tulip time). The room was spacious, LG flat screen w/swivel base (sd channels though). Pull out sleep sofa. What was odd, there was no sink in the bathroom. The only one is by the door. Crazy design, besides that, it was all good. New Mall being built next door, plenty of places 2 eat, some within walking distance.

We stayed 2 nights in January. It began snowing on arrival and did not stop the whole weekend. The room was comfortable and staff was very helpful in finding things to do nearby. « Best Customer service EVER !!! »

Great looking hotel with nice pool/ hot tub area but the staff made our visit worthwhile! From the time we checked in they were amazing - very friendly but not pushy, helpful and very proactive on guest services. Whenever we were in the pool area, they would come in several times with fresh towels, etc. They were constantly making sure there was fresh coffee and breakfast items. We will definitely stay here again !!

We stayed here a while ago and we emailed them and STILL havent gotten a reply back. So, we called and got a reservation for a Jacuzzi suite. We got told it would be $100 something... We got there and it was OVER $250!!!! Even in the room on the door it said the rate was $150!! This place will lie to you just to get your money and to get you in the door! The lady at the front desk was very rude about it. The only good thing about it is we bought a romance package.

« Super Nice AND Pet Friendly!! »

We arrived in holland after a 9 hour drive and had reservations at another hotel. When we got there we were informed they did not take pets even though they claimed to online. We were referred to this Best Western & I was a little disappointed because I thought it would be a downgrade from the planned hotel. I was wrong. This is a lovely hotel! It has the feel of a ski lodge and the rooms are huge. We had a king sized room with a whirlpool tub. The bed was super comfortable and the rooms have an indoor and an outdoor entrance which is very convenient with a hyper dog! Breakfast was a decent spread. We may have to come back to Michigan a couple more times in 2016 & will diffidently plan to stay here again.

This was our third stay this year. We were so impressed with our first visit that we do not consider any other Hotel when we come to Holland. The staff are so accommodating and make you feel so welcome. We always find our room clean and comfortable. The indoor swimming pool is an added bonus. The breakfast is sufficient and we like the fact that it is opened until 10:00 a.m. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone who is looking for a pleasant experience at a reasonable rate. C. We have stayed at a lot of Hotels, many good ones as well as bad ones, but Best Western Plus in Holland, Michigan ranks with the best. The staff and management go out of their way to make your stay the most pleasant. If there is a problem, they fix it immediately. This is a very clean and comfortable Hotel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

« Great reception, cleanliness, best breakfast! »

I had been told by friends that Best Western hotels were not really top notch. When I checked in, I was met by Scott, the Property Manager, who immediately welcomed me with a cheery greeting. He gave me a Jr. King Suite, with a small sofa and a king bed, at a very affordable price and I found this to be very comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfast was superb, better than I've had at hotels with higher ratings, with a full range of eggs, bacon, toast, juices, yogurts, etc. The large center table is an attraction all to itself with glittering small pieces of glass imbedded on its surface. Overall, a great experience. Thanks, Scott, and to all your friendly staff.

    « Nightmare »

So much to say...I've tried to write this review twice, and it became so long, I gave up. Pro: Staff is friendly. Cons: everything else you can imagine. And resolution with upper management eventually occurred, after jumping through hoops, but it didn't make up for a terrible experience. Do not stay here.

« Amazing hotel and staff!!! »

We stayed here Nov 13-15 for a hockey tournament and the staff was absolutely amazing! Excellent customer service when booking as well as the hotel staff throughout our stay. They team was given a room to play mini-sticks and the parents had their own space to congregate. The staff was professional and extremely friendly- numerous staff members even asked how we played when returning from a game. I definitely recommend this hotel and this will be my only choice for future stays. Thank you again!!

« Check that your door locks and bring extra money for pets »

Decent, clean hotel, but they miss on the details. The check in team was friendly and helpful, but the morning check out staff was not friendly ans if you complain they will blame you. The door lock didn't latch unless you pushed or pulled extraordinarily hard. Pets are welcome, but there is a per night fee not listed on their website.

« Friendly Staff, Clean Rooms, Inexpensive. »

I was hesitant to book because of the old adage, "You Get What You Pay For!" I love being surprised. This place was really clean. Simple, not fancy, but clean! I was bummed that the hot tub was out of commission, but kids still enjoyed swimming, and of course complimentary breakfast wins them over. I would definitely stay here again.

« Clean and fit the bill »

We spent a Friday night in this Best Western while my Daughter had an event in town. The room was large enough and clean. Appreciated having a fridge and a microwave in the room. The pool area was large but the hot tub was drained the night we stayed. Small workout room with 3 machines. Breakfast was filing with the usual eggs, cereal, yogurts, and fruit. We would be willing to stay here again. It was the cheapest in price and a decent stay for the area.

    « Great Stay »

We stayed here for 2 nights for a hockey tournament. At check-in they were friendly and even offered to help with luggage (I believe his name was Patrick). The hotel has been recently updated (most areas, bathroom seemed dated). Breakfast was better than most. The employees were extremely friendly...they let our players use a conference room for meetings and play. The employees treated the players as guests (many hotels are rude to the kids). At breakfast they ran out of coffee as I was walking away an employee flagged me down to let me know they just refilled it. Nice stay!

They all went the extra mile to help make your stay the best!! The rooms were very nice and clean, the housekeeping is wonderful and friendly. The breakfast is one of the best ones I've been to, I like having choices and they do that and more. I think the grab and go lunch or snack is a great idea. Overall I had a very nice time and really enjoyed my stay!! :-) I give them an A+

We stopped in Holland for the day and stayed at Best Western because of the good reviews we had read. We certainly were not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, Patrick at the front desk went above and beyond to be extremely helpful. We had a Jr. Jacuzzi Suite because of the reviews I knew the hot tub was under maintenance. I understand that, things break and need to be fixed. We had a king size bed, pull out couch and a jacuzzi in the bathroom which was big enough for two people. Our room was very clean, beds very comfortable and breakfast offered lots of options. We ordered pizza to our room on Patrick's suggestion from a place called Petrino's. Great pizza at super cheap prices. We really enjoyed our visit to Holland, but honestly we had a lot of fun at the hotel! We would come back for sure.

I always know I'm home when I check in to this hotel.I've been staying here 2 times a year when visiting family for years.I've always had a great room with a great price along with clean nice pool area. This summer was the best stay yet.It has been remodeled and is under new management. The staff was super friendly. They even let a girls swim team use the breakfast area for thier pizza party one afternoon. Breakfast has more options than before as well and was a very clean area. I have stayed at many of the hotels in the area untill I stayed here. Now I look forward to my stay here as much as seeing my family.Great job and it was a wonderfull stay again :)

Really nice visit. The hotel itself is very well maintained and clean. Hotel staff are great. This is a step up from the hotels one typically finds in the price range. Excellent value for the money and I would most definitely stay there again.

« Nice Hotel and good location »

The Best Western in Holland was a very good place to stay. Our room was spacious with 2 queens, room was very clean and quiet. Also liked having 2 doors that went to the parking lot and car and other down hallway from front desk and snack bar. Staff helpful and answered questions about directions.. Will stay again on next trip to Holland

    « Hello Holland »

Very good rate for this area of the state. Room was very clean and comfortable. Only problem I had was with the motion sensor in the bathroom but I made it through that. Good location for restaurants, close to downtown and not to far from Lake Michigan.

Excellent staff. Very good breakfast. Our room was clean and reasonably updated. We had 2 queen beds. One bed was nice and firm, but the other really needed replacing. It was very soft and saggy. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel, carpeting on stairs is desperately in need of replacement. Rooms are good sized. Breakfast was included. Pool is open 24 hours. Locations is not easy to find unless you have a navigation system. Sean at reception was very helpful and friendly.

The check in help was great, fast and very helpful with our questions about places to eat and visit even printed off directions for us !We stayed here partly because we brought our dog on this trip, room was nice everything worked only complaint was the shower head,I think a squirt gun has more water pressure ! We were visiting Grand Valley State college but we were also able to go over to the lake and visit the State park see the lighthouse do a bit of hiking.Would stay here again.

    « Not terribly impressed »

My husband and I stayed here a few weekends ago. The first thing that made us bummed out was that when we checked in, we were given a room that was not the one we paid for on Orbitz. When we went to the desk to ask about it, the front desk clerk told us that the room we had requested was no longer available (there were multiple weddings staying at the hotel the same weekend: my money is on one of them snatching our suite!). So instead of the king suite we were excited about, we ended up in a regular room with two full beds: TOTALLY not the kind of fun getaway room we had been looking forward to as we drove all those hours to get there. :( The room itself was okay: poor insulation (we could hear everything from all directions), but decorated nice enough. The beds were fairly comfortable. Our room was on the bottom floor, so we had both an interior AND exterior door. Some people like this feature, but it freaked us out a bit, I confess. There's a lot to like about this hotel, don't get me wrong: it has a very nice pool area, a small but well-appointed workout room, and the breakfast room was attractive (We didn't eat the breakfast because we had plans, but it seemed well-stocked). The staff are really friendly. It's located well, and has ample parking. But what we paid for the room? We just expected it to be a little better in all directions.

This motel had a problem with the dead bolt on the door but the front office assured it would be fixed. We were moved to another room. The room was very comfortable and did not have noise from other rooms. The bathroom was very clean and the amenities were provided and were used.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the hotel. Pet friendly hotel which we love. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. Beds were comfy and I would recommend people to stay here.
