Resumen de la reserva
Very spacious rooms, most are double deckers. The choice of food available for breakfast is excellent, everyone is gonna find something. The staff is comunicative, which is very rare in China. The rooms are very clean, made up daily. +: Nice bathrooms, comfortable beds, charming restaurant on the 23rd floor, amazing food, location (there's a shopping street with amazing food 500m from the hotel) -: The rooms could be more isolated from sounds coming from the street, but anyway it didn't bother me much.
The hotel could be a nice surprise for many. It is loft type room with 0.5 bath on floor, and a full bath upstairs. It also has a sofa and a TV downstairs, and a queen bed upstairs besides bedroom. The location is convenient for both traffic to the high speed train station and the airport, and it is 5 minutes walk away for a big mall with plenty restaurants, bars, and shops. The only thing I am not confortable with is the ceiling and shower head is too low, almost hit the ceiling when standing in the tub.
I was booked in here by my company while in Hefei on business. The location seemed quite good on paper but there was very little in the way of decent restaurants and bars nearby. What was most peculiar, and increasingly annoying as time went by, was the ‘loft' style ( as the hotel so seductively calls them) room layout. We each had a large downstairs living room, complete with TV , while up a rather steep flight of stairs was the bedroom. Here in China on business for several weeks we all had large bulky luggage which we had no inclination to transporting up to the ‘loft'. Clothes were therefore decanted from the suitcase downstairs on a daily basis and invariably one would find something had been mislaid. The bedrooms were very claustrophobic, the ceilings very low and furnishings dark. I also never quite worked out how to switch off the downstairs lights after coming up to bed! The carpets throughout were in desperate need of a deep clean. The bedrooms on our floor were deemed non smoking, as requested, but they all stank of ingrained nicotine. There is something very unsavoury about stained bedroom carpets and I was glad of the free, disposable slippers as with all the hawking and spitting going on in the hotel, one could not be too sure what was underfoot On the subject of this very unsavoury cultural difference, an awful lot of hawking and spitting went on in the dining room. Although I've travelled to China many times now in business I still find it completely unacceptable that this takes place at the table right beside you and the used tissues left on the table top. It always puts me off my food and I'm quite surprised that it's still seems to be accepted. After one ghastly experience at attempting to order a vegetarian dish from the menu, which is only available on the hotel tablet, we didn't venture back for dinner. We each had just a bowl of unseasoned hot water with a few packet noodles floating in it, a couple of slices of tomato and a handful of pak Choi. After taxes and service charge this ‘meal' set us back almost £10 each We tried the upstairs Chinese restaurant just the once, since we were most uncomfortable being ushered into a small, windowless private dining room and our request for vegetarian food was met with three small bowls of boiled white rice, a plate of tepid, over cooked broccoli and the most disgusting ‘stinky' tofu ( recommended by the hotel no less) any of us had ever encountered, and none of us could eat. Breakfast wasn't bad and reception were friendly and helpful, despite their lack of English. I'm sure there are better places to stay, like the neighbouring Crowne Plaza hotel, where we took most of our evening meals
My mom and I were pleasantly surprised by this hotel! We had a room with two twin beds on the “superior” level, and they were truly non-smoking. We didn't have any lingering smells although some parts of the hotel smelled strongly of cigarettes. The breakfast had a lot of options, too, which was great. One downer – I tried to use the gym at 5:30am one morning, and I found it unlocked but dark. After failing in my search for a light switch, I went to the front desk hoping they could turn it on. Some of the staff's English is not the best, so they were confused as to what I was asking.
The hotel locates in so-called high tech zoon so that there is less commercial facilities around. A railway next to the hotel which generates big noise whole night. Hotel rooms are very big but with strong odor. Carpets are very dirty. Breakfast is fine. I will not recommend the hotel if you want a comfortable stay.
This place is very good. Locations is close to night market and many more. Airport shuttle bus also have stop there, so convinient to everywhere. I would recommend this place extreamly. Breakfast is also very good and delicious! Good very good good very good, very excellent experience my stay.
I spend one night in Hefei and was told by my local office that they set me up at the Best Western hotel and it would cost me 400 rmb per night. My expectations were very low based on the name and the room rate. I was shocked at the hotel. very nice hotel, people were very friendly. it was in a great area, lots of shopping, food, etc very nearby. The room I was in had a dual level to it. main living area, then go up to the loft level up steep stairs. I couldn't make up my mind whether I liked it or not, but it was pretty cool.
I spent one night at the Best Western Hefei this week while travelling to Anhui Province for business meetings. The hotel was selected by colleagues. Check in was quick, and I was put in a non-smoking room on level 17 (room 1719). Some simple English is spoken at reception and in the restaurant at the hotel. The room was a very unusual design, being a loft-type arrangement, with a living room (and toilet) on the lower level, and the bed and bathroom on the upper level. The room was quite comfortable but it was a strange layout. The room featured very fast wi-fi, provide free of charge, and a well stocked mini-bar. There was a big screen TV on each level. It's a nice concept, but means that if you are going up and down the stairs frequently accessing your luggage downstairs (there is not much room for luggage upstairs). Despite being on a high floor, the room still had lots of outside noise. The bathroom was small, but featured a range of toiletries. The ceiling height in the upper level (particularly the bathroom) was also quite low. The hotel has a range of restaurants – I had dinner in a private room on the 2nd floor Chinese restaurant, and breakfast on the 1st floor buffet restaurant. The food was good at both meals. There is a swimming pool at the hotel. The lighting in the room is very confusing to operate – there is a big chandelier hanging between the 2 levels, and once the master switch is off, it turns off not only these lights but also the bedside lamps, which is a pain if trying to read at night. The lifts are also very slow and there always seem to be long waits for them. The other problem with the room was that it was stiflingly hot in the rooms (despite being cold outside), and no amount of adjustment of the thermostats seemed to be able to change the settings. The hotel is quite expensive for its location, but is very well presented. Check out was reasonably quick, compared to most regional Chinese hotels. The stay was good, but I would probably try one of the other hotels in Hefei next time I visit the area to get a comparison of what else is available.
Far away from city center, but pleasant for a business stay. Nice restaurant, acceptable choice of food, sometimes crowded. I appreciated very much the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Some problems with the air conditioning, but it was repaired the same day.
Nice and clean hotel in Hefei. I've stayed there 3 days, room was clean and service was excellent. There are western restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Hotel is located in the centre of the city, it is very easy to reach everywhere.
I used to review virtually every hotel I stayed in but now only do so when they are exceptionally good or bad. This one is exceptionally BAD. THE BAD Access to bath and wardrobe. I hit my head several times, once twice in succession and got a headache. To be fair, there are signs that warn you but when you are struggling with space and trying to access stuff, you forget about the head obstacle. I shifted the bed to gain access to the safe but I need not have bothered, it did not work. I tried a few times but it did not lock which I would have thought was a basic for a safe. If some member of the staff is reading this, I ask you to give a copy to the manager and ask him to go to room 1117 and hang some clothes in the wardrobe, not just look at it but actually do it, it's very difficult and this is usually one of the first things a guest does upon arrival. Then perhaps he could also try and operate the safe including reading the instructions for the first time. Availability of cutlery for breakfast The first morning I arrived for breakfast and I only had about 15 minutes until my host picked me up. I could not find the cutlery and when I eventually found where it was kept, they had run out, this after about five minutes of searching. I just showed the empty container to one of the staff and they brought me fresh cutlery. I love using chopsticks and have no difficulty, all I wanted was a knife to butter my bread. When I went to get served again and came back the cutlery had been cleared away and I went to get clean supply but still the container was empty. I again showed the empty container to staff and Deja Vu. The second morning, they immediately brought me knives and forks and I discovered that the cutlery tray was for chop sticks only, fair enough but what about buttering the bread. Evening meal buffet Bland, very disappointing, no taste and cold, one of the worst evening meals I have had in China, 1912 street is only a short walk away and you will find tasty food there including very tasty noodle soup. Hot beer I ordered a beer at the bar but it was served hot and was not drinkable. I said I just could not drink it and to be fair to them, there was no charge. I subsequently went to the Crown Plaza next door and the draft beer was very nice and ice cold. Next time I will stay at the Crown although I suspect it is owned by the same hotel group. Air conditioning The combination of bed linen with the air conditioning did not match. The bed linen was very good but too warm and the air conditioning could not cool the room enough to sleep comfortable under the linen. However, to be fair to the hotel, we were experiencing 35 degree days. I tried turning off the air con and sleeping with nothing but then it was too hot. The only way I could get rest was to sleep with the air con turned on and dressed in the bathrobe. Information on where to get breakfast and info in general I found it very difficult to get information on where to have breakfast. I searched the booklet and if it is in there, I could not find it. I phoned reception (they had some short-cut symbol for it) but I had to wait until they found somebody that could speak English. This was typical of any queries I had during my stay. Elevator Hotel was busy when I was there, lots of people staying for a business conference and anytime I caught the lift there was a queue. To slow things down even more, during the trip up or down, the lift stopped at virtually every floor even though the lift was full and no one could get in. This really slowed down the service and wasted time. One of the lifts was out of service for the entire time I was there and I was surprised no attempt was made to get it going. Laundry service This was the killer punch that led me to do this review. I had spent three weeks travelling Italy and Ireland and after leaving Hefei, I was due to travel in Japan for five days before returning to Australia. I knew I would have no opportunity to do laundry after I left Hefei so I made sure I collected everything I needed, filled in the forms etc and I took it to reception to make sure no one over looked it. This was early the morning prior to my day of departure. The instructions say if laundry is presented by 12 noon, it will be returned by 8 pm that same day. I arrived back at my room sometime after 9 pm and no laundry. I dialled that important symbol on the telephone and waited for about five minutes after the initial, “Please wait a moment”. I dialled again and asked to speak to somebody speaking English. After a time I again hung up and was getting ready to go down to reception when they called back and I explained about the laundry. He said the person responsible was not at work now and I should call back in the morning and then I explained I was leaving early, about 7:30 am in fact. He said he would check and call me back. Shortly after, an English speaking staff member arrived at my room and I explained what had happened (or more precisely what had not happened). We went together to the lobby and I explained where I had handed in the laundry bag and they searched the cupboards in the area but no sign. After some time he went away and after some more time arrived back with my laundry bag still in the same condition in which I submitted it. He explained that some person or other must have forgotten it. I asked if he could organize by the morning and he said it was impossible and I told him I was not happy and would be doing a review on TripAdvisor. I took back my dirty wrinkled laundry and pondered wearing it around Japan and bought some more clothing when I got to Hiroshima. This is risky as it then puts me over my baggage allowance. Price for such service not as though this is a cheap hotel, I think it was around 680 RMB per night and the service I received was absolutely atrocious. The place is actually not too bad but the way it is run is negligent. The manager should actually go through the motions of actually doing the things I went through, not just go and look and nod your head, taste the cold bland food, operate the safe, hang clothes in the wardrobe and taste the warm beer and do everything in English only. I have stayed in many Hotels in Hefei, Hilton, Novotel, Swan Lake, Harvest, Westin and this one is the worst for service. I think things would improve a lot if the envelope presented with the room key were to contain the following vital information in Chinese and English Breakfast details Wifi details Checkout time Restaurant details This will save the staff a lot of time and will improve guest satisfaction and is actually free as you will need to get them printed anyway. THE GOOD The rest of the room To be fair, this place has great potential if the staff were trained and spoke English. The rooms are good for meetings as the bed is on an upper level away from the computer living area etc. Breakfast coffee was very good. I just loved Faulty Towers, having guests go through such absurd obstacles seemed so funny but I can tell you, being the victim of these obstacles, well not so funny. Next time I will try the Crown Plaza and you should too. This place has got way too many problems.
Hotel offers very specious rooms. with all you need during your stay. WLAN is free and runs well. The breakfast is great, with both Asian and European cuisine. They have as well discount offer for hotel guest for dinners in the same restaurant. That's a great deal. The only drawback is that it is located close to train line. In the night it might be quite disturbing.
I stayed for 2 weeks in room 2211. Room perfect except for outside noise and insufficient air conditioning during night. Excellent and very helpful staff, changed even light bulb of bedside lamp against a stronger one. Very friendly staff in the well-run restaurant first floor. Buffet really good, even after two weeks. Excellent pastry, great mixture of Chinese, Japanese and Western food. Good Japanese restaurant on top floor. Very important: staff speaks sufficiently well English. There is nothing of interest within walking distance. Wifi worked very well except that Google and some social networks seem to be blocked.
Behind the crown plaza hotel. Near the railway, some part should be noisy. But it is a loft type hotel. Space is good. 2 toilets. Good for business. But traffic should be considered. Breakfast is so so. Not so many western food. Lobby is OK. staff s are good.
I stayed here on a business trip for 7 nights in July. The guest rooms were spacious and well appointed. My own room, located on the eighteenth floor, had two levels. The lower level had a living area and half bath, the upper level had a bedroom and full bath with tub and shower. There were plenty of soaps, shampoos etc, that were restocked everyday in the bathroom. The living area had a small fridge that worked well. There were plenty of towels, bathrobes and slippers provided. Tea and coffee making facilities. Two flat screen TVs, one on each level, that had some English speaking channel, including the BBC and CNN. The weather outside was very hot and humid but my room and the public areas in the hotel were comfortably cool. The buffet breakfast was an excellent mix of Chinese and western food. Service at the front desk and in the restaurant was attentive and polite. The free WiFi was very weak in the room but okay in the the public spaces. There was wired internet in my room that work very well in the middle of the night but tended to be slow during the day.
