Best Western Hospitality Hotel & Suites

This hotel is so off what they say. The breakfast was horrible when they even had food out. It was either cold or just plain gone. The place smelled like marijuana 24/7. Only hotel not represented at the airport even though I booked a pick up. They told me that day it didn't run 12-4 am and yet I needed it at 11:30pm. Horrible hotel

Best Western is a large hotel chain and when you pull up to this location its not like the other Best Westerns. This one looks like it took over from another hotel. The hotel itself needs a lot of moeny put into it. Very old and outdated. Breakfast was good with the choices but the hot food was cold in temp. The only saving grace this hotel has is there GM Tonya Robinson. This laid is an ANGEL. She did everything in her power to make our familys trip the best it could. If we did come back to the hotel it would be because of Tonya.

So I loved our stay here except for two minor issues, that were pretty impactful on our overall experience. One, through no fault of the hotel, the internet wasn't working very well but that was due to the storm a few days prior apparently. We work remotely and this was a big pain. But nothing could be done. The second thing was breakfast. Oh my goodness... bless his heart, the guy working breakfast was doing his gosh darned best, but the biscuits and bagels were still frozen, no milk for cereal and the orange juice was just water. I felt so bad for him, but it was what it was. In absolute contrast our room, the hotel amenities and the staff far exceeded any expectations we had of our first stay at a Best Western.

Originally, my only complaint would have been that the hallways smelled like dead rat... until someone tried entering my room at 11:30 at night. They clearly had a key as the only thing that stopped them from coming in was the peek-guard I had put in place. Not only did nobody apologize or state they made a mistake, but when I called the front desk, nobody answered. I was completely terrified as I had been awoken to someone entering my room and I could not get a hold of the front desk to verify it wasn't some random stranger. After the fourth call to the desk, I called my husband (who was not with me), who called the main BW service number, while I dialed 911 as I now had no clue if someone had gotten a hold of keys and were just entering rooms or what was happening. The BW people could not get a hold of the front desk either and suggested calling the police, which I was already doing. The cops came and it was indeed just a room service person entering by mistake, but here is my question: what hotel has room service cleaning hotel rooms at 1130 at night!?! They were NOT quiet either as they were then blaring music to clean to in the room next to us. It was a horrible experience over-all and I felt safer and more comfortable sleeping in my car than I did in this hotel. Big disappointment.

This is a very large hotel with 2-300 rooms. When we arrived at check-in as a platinum member, I expected a decent room or at least as good as they had. Instead they put us at the end of a very long corridor in a small room. The excuse of the clerk was that it was the only one with working AC. In other words, with only a dozen or so cars in the lot, we can assume that some 250 rooms are without air conditioning in the middle of summer. So, we took the room and in the morning when my wife went in the bathroom to get ready for a shower, she discovered very slow moving bugs all over the bathroom. In Michigan, they are called "wood roaches". Not only the room but we discovered that the hallway and the stairwell was fully infested. I took pictures and showed them to the desk clerk who stated that he would tell his manager and I would be contacted. No contact was made. We did not shower, we did not eat breakfast, we just got the hell out of there! We will not be back.

For the most part, this hotel was satisfactory. [Room 102] Price was very reasonable, even when including the $25 USD "cleaning Fee" for having a dog in the room. [I think this is such a bogus tax] The room was "ordinary" - nothing exceptional [I thought for a BW, it was actually low standard] . The lighting in the room was so-so, difficult to read by. The bathtub shower unit was stuck in a halfway mode, so showering was a challenge...much water draining out of the faucet, so minimal pressure from the shower. Breakfast was okay...we were fine with it. Recommend checking the room before committing to it.

If you have a choice stay else where. Floors are sticky. Rooms are not well kept. Depending on the time of day you come, you may be judged by the color of your skin. They seem to give special treatment if you are of color vs not. We requested new sheets, since the room they put us in had wet sheets. We waited an hour and still no sheets. We went to the front and asked for a new room they said there wasn't any. We entered up calling corporate, and corporate got them to change our room. Still not a pleasant experience.

Called ahead to request early check in but was met with extreme attitude. Was not a make of break in hotel choice but lack of respect in answering a simple question was overwhelming. Front desk workers were complaining about other customers while we were checking in. Water pressure in shower was subpar. One TV remote did not work (had two TVs). Docking station did not charge phone even though it showed it was charging. Bed was stiff, pillows were excellent though. Fridge froze stuff at half the maximum temperature setting and that stuff was not touching the back wall. Pool had late hours until midnight (did not use). Breakfast was typical but yet lacked options other generic buffets have. Checkout was super quick - handed over my key and was all set.

When we pulled in to the hotel, I told my husband, uh oh, this doesn't look good. The outside is dirty and the grounds had a lot of trash littered around. I made reservations last year, called the hotel directly (the on-site local number)and confirmed that they provide airport shuttle service. When we checked in, I asked the woman at the front desk, she said no, not offered. I asked if they knew of a nearby hotel that offered shuttle service, answer - no. They were absolutely NO HELP at all.. I stepped outside and called another hotel, the employee who answered was great. Said their location was a little far from the airport however she provided 3 names of hotels to call, which I did with success. I went back in, cancelled and as leaving said thanks. The staff member said "You're welcome", WTH?! No, sorry, sorry for miscommunication, nothing. Their local customer service/staff is terrible with no regard for the customer. If a shuttle service was offered then discontinued, I think an update should have been provided for reservations. Be very leery of staying here and read other current reviews.

Clean hotel, but amenities are low quality. TV had poor imagery and internet was out during our stay. Staff were nice. There were issues with hallway noise. The fitness center is lackluster and most of the machines were in poor condition or well aged.

The Grand Rapids Best Western on 28th Street SE is a beautiful facility with modern amenities. Except for the homeless couple living on the front lawn in early June 2023. The hotel management is inept or deliberately deceptive. They were unable to hold my room reservation till 6 PM and placed me in smaller accommodations albeit with a modest discount. The ladies at the front desk stated the hotel was overbooked and helpfully recommended I show up at 3 PM in the future. The web site said my room was guaranteed to my CC for late arrival. Apparently not. The Saturday morning breakfast was not available. Very odd on a day that the hotel was booked to capacity with sports teams of teenagers, management choose to disregard the promised morning meal. The employee responsible for breakfast didn't report for work? I'm sure that wasn't prearranged. How much did BW save on that little “mistake”? Additionally, our room wasn't cleaned after the first night even after we requested maid service. Best Western Corporate should be involved in this management's disaster. This is the fourth BW establishment I have stayed with this year and it is sorely lacking.

We had made reservations ahead of time, so check in was quick and efficient. I was greeted warmly by the desk clerk, and we were in our room in no time. The housekeeping of this property shows with all areas of the hotel looking very clean. Our room has fresh crisp sheets on the bed, and the bathroom was spotlessly cleaned. Near the freeway so venturing out to other areas of Grand Rapids is very easy. Stores and restaurants nearby too.

We wanted to give the kids a winter getaway with a sparkling pool. This location had a wonderful setup for the kids to play and relax in the pool. We swam for three hours straight. We can't say enough about Elda and Tonya who work at this location and treated us very personably and like family. The free breakfast offered a lot of variety for our picky kids. They loved making the waffles with all the toppings. The location is right near the airport and close to great shopping. The kids loved the location because it was located close to the arcade, Dave and Busters. It was a fun getaway for the kids and they felt like they truly went on a vacation.

The issue here WAS NOT the cleaning staff .... It was all maintenance and up keep.... JUNK (COMPANY ) VEHICLES IN CUSTOMER PARKING.... Staff at front counter gave the feeling that you were bothering them.

My 3 year old found a pipe in the room I rented and they did nothing about it I've called corporate and no call back til 13 days later after I called multiple times to just tell me there's nothing they can do

Check in was easy, front desk staff was friendly. Our room door stuck when opening especially the first time. A good kick got it open. Our bathroom had a strange odor to it. It was isolated just to the bathroom, but we never did figure out what it was. Rooms were very clean. Fitness center was nice but very warm and there was nothing to wipe down the machines as the signage requested. Overall it was a good stay. We have stayed here before and will probably again if we are in need when we are in the area.

I travel regularly for work and business and this was the worst experience I've ever had. We checked in for a wedding after a long day of travel. The first room we got had a pretty bad smell, and so we asked if it could be switched. They accommodated us but, inadvertently, they switched us out of the good smelling room into another good smelling room keeping the bad one. I went back to try to explain this and was met with hostility. We tried to stay in the two rooms that smelled ok, and were accused of “squatting” and threatened. I offered to pay for 3 rooms, tried to reason with the guy at the desk, but to no avail. I'm not sure who this person was, because he wouldn't give me his name, but his unprofessional and aggressive attitude would alone give this a 0 star rating. We ended up leaving and staying at the Hilton down the road

This is an excellent place to stay! The employees are very accommodating & helpful. It's very clean & it has a hot tub! Very hard to find these days. My advice is, if you're going to stay in a hotel, I highly recommend this one!

In addition to the complimentary breakfast, and clean pool, the staff was very friendly & accommodating. They truly care about their guests. They treated me like family. Would highly recommend you check them out next time you are in town.

Online the pictures looked great! Air was not working in the lobby, or upstairs in the breakfast area. We arrived after traveling all day at 11:30PM. When we opened the door to our room, it was HOT! The A/C unit was set to 61, but felt like 91. Went back downstairs to the lobby to let her know since we didn't have a phone in our room. First she told us that her manager said to try setting the temp to 75 and it should work. So the manager is aware of the problem... I must've had a look on my face because she said, nevermind, I will switch you to another room so you don't have to walk back down if it doesn't work. Thankfully the new room's A/C worked. As other reviewers stated, there was a rock in the side door entrance. I kicked it out! In the morning, the breakfast area upstairs was HOT! The pancake batter was runny, and the sausage was frozen. There were no forks. My husband had to interrupt the girls in the kitchen from their phones to get some. The price I paid to stay here: $145 was definitely NOT worth it.

Good price yet you pay for what you get. A/C didn't work properly. Two lights in bathroom went out off and on. It was hard to get ready without the lights. Reported it and they said they would bring some up but never came before we had to leave for a wedding. A little disappointed.

How is this place a Best Western? Possibly the most run-down brand name hotel I've ever stayed at. I hardly know where to begin: - lumpy, old pillows - thin comforters - windows look like they haven't been cleaned in a decade - broken windows in our room - every exterior door I passed has been propped open by a pebble or a wet flour sign - shower fixture hanging out of the wall - budget door handle loosely installed in the door - crowded pool and spa - steamed, pale breakfast sausages - cobwebs and dead insects galore - hot and humid lobby - window coverings ding block out the glaring lights - old bandaid stuck to the window The good: - friendly, competent person working at the front desk - hot and fresh coffee at breakfast

We were welcomed by James, who made us feel like special guests. He offered us bottled water or ginger ale when we checked in and gave us suggestions of places where we might eat. We decided on The Garage in nearby Ada. James was so very friendly. Our room was fabulous and very comfortable. It was clean, the air conditioner was quiet and worked right. Breakfast was on the second floor and overlooked the lobby. It was very relaxing to sit and eat.

There are several hotels in the area to choose from, but I think that the BW was the best for the price. We were in town for a wedding and just needed a place to sleep and this is what we were provided. Friendly staff and a clean pool. We weren't looking for frills and this is a good solid stay!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great variety of food and drinks for the complimentary breakfast, clean and well served. The best of all was definitely the staff and the manager James Koukios, very profesional, sweet and funny. We felt so welcomed and will definitely stay there again.

Stayed a week for work. Good food, bed, and pool. Will definitely stay again. There are many long term working guest and all seem pleased being there. The manager was helpful with tools to put together a monitor I purchased. Great people.

This hotel is disgusting and dirty. There is a constant order through out and in the rooms of wet ashtray. Lights don't work, sink / tub wouldn't drain. People were smoking cut / weed in their rooms. I had to buy cleaning / deodorising products to make the room bearable. I would have left but all rooms were booked up due to sport tournaments.Did I mention the stink bugs? The carpets have holes warn in them. The list is far too long. Just do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

Stay away, unless you are looking to stay up all night and party. You won't get much if any sleep. Almost an entire floor of "Guests of the State", living off the nut of others, who don't hold jobs, so they have no qualms about being up all night, slamming doors, visiting each other in hallways...Dorms and Frats are less noisy and more considerate.

I am a snob when it comes to the cleanliness of a hotel. This BW did not disappoint! It's no secret the hotel is a little on the older side, but you'd never know it. It's kept up, spacious, great breakfast, kind staff, huge indoor pool, and most importantly clean! Couldn't go wrong for the price. Hotels are so expensive these days, esp in the GR area! Couldn't beat it.

My daughter had an out of town medical appointment so I was nervous trying to find a hotel that was quite clean and had a pool for her to play this hotel was all and for the price I was very happy if ever back in GR we will definitely stay again

Absolutely wonderful place to have a gathering. Great breakfast, nice size gathering rooms, beautiful pool and hot tub, outside park like area, and clean large rooms with very comfy beds. All staff curtious, professional and always willing to be of assistance.

Would not recommend this hotel which is sad because the staff were amazing. Breakfast was good. Did not get the right room. Pool was freezing which was sad for the kids. Hotel looked like it was falling apart and had a funny smell.

We re-discovered this local hotel in an emergency situation with grandkids and parents who needed to get away for a night. James, the manager went above and beyond to make our experience excellent and fun. So this past weekend I just invited more friends to get a room and make it a friends night away. We had a small group but a great time. Good price for a good stay. All the amenities were as expected, which is unusual in this day and age. It appears that the staff is all enjoying working there as well.

The staff are really the reason this place is so great to stay, everyone is so warm and welcoming. Ive stayed for an extended period so this isnt just a hotel, it feels like home. Special thanks to James and Hannah for your shining professionalism unmatched by any other ive experienced in the hospitality industry.

Took my boys here for a one night stay during spring break & we had a great time! Friendly & helpful staff, our room was very clean with a big TV which was nice. The beds were very comfortable & the pillows were nice. The pool was big & a very comfortable temperature & the hot tub was nice! We stayed on a Wednesday & pretty much had the pool to ourselves & my boys really enjoyed it! Great location with lots of restaurants around & across the street is a Meijer. For $94/ night it's a good bargain for what you're getting. The waffles for breakfast are great, lots of juices & coffee, cereals, breads & yogurt. My only complaint would be to just improve a bit on the eggs & sausage but hey it's free so not really a complaint am I right? Overall we had a great stay & would book here again!

The staff at this location was very polite, very professional. Very clean, and well staffed. Pool area was clean, nicely kept. Breakfast was well stocked and warm, hostess was very polite and efficient.

My overall experiences was great the family enjoyed this property to pool to the hot tube and the basketball courts outside. It was right by local store Meijer was right across the street and was right by the highway.

Extremely clean motel. Nice, friendly and courteous staff. Pet friendly. Great price and location. Clean pool and fitness area. Complimentary hot and cold breakfast was wonderful with a great variety of food and drinks. Did not need but they are a Park And Fly Motel. Good to know. Will definitely be using this motel again!

We stay at this property frequently when in Grand Rapids visiting our son at Aquinas College. Great location right off of I-96. Our experience is always good. Recent updates to rooms are very nice. Hot breakfast is being served again. We will be back again soon!

The General Manager and his staff are very friendly and professional. They always go out of their way to make sure we have what we need. We stay here on a regular basis while working in the area. Will continue to stay here while working in the area.

Good hotel, the manager and front desk staff were excellent! Had everything we needed and were very close to stores, restaurants, and the airport. Would definitely recommend it to a friend and will stay there again.

This hotel is disgusting. Furniture and carpets stained. Old rug..forgot to take pictures. Curtains all crumbled..Do not stay here if you like cleanliness. Outside was all covered with bird poop dripping off railing. I could go on and on.

The front desk staff is top notch, but otherwise, there are issues. Our first room had not been cleaned and smelled heavily of smoke. We were given another room at a reduced price. Doors and trim are in woeful condition. Some yelling in the halls at night. Van in the parking lot with teens hanging out. Cop cars another night.

Nice location. Very first hotel after Highway exit. Convenient to Meijer and Walmart and with in 10 minutes from the Airport. Nice big room, but room smells cigarette smoke. My wife went to use exercise equipment. The only thread mill in the room is not working or out of commission.

This is the worst BW I've ever stayed at and have stayed at many. Security issues with exterior doors not latching; TV didn't work in the first room and the door latch did not work properly in the second room provided; AC did not work. Staff is very friendly which is this locations only positive.

This hotel needs to change their website to match what guests can expect to get and they need to clean their rooms on a daily basis. The business computer did not work because someone hacked their computer and they could not log in, the hot breakfast they bragged about on their website consisted of old fruit, packaged muffins, and coffee.

Smelled horribly like mildew.There was little security with all the entry doors constantly propped open. An suv with people and children was parked near the back doors ALL day smoking weed and meeting with others (obviously preforming illegal activities) until late at night all three nights we were there. The internet would not connect to our phones about 50%of the time, the treadmills was broken, the door to our room had to be pulled shut hard or would not lock. Random people from the said parked car were in and out of the hallways all day. The room next to us clearly smelled like cigarette smoke into the hallway. There was a spot of blood on the ceiling above the bed. It was small but still apparent blood. The hotel was so bad we just laughed about it bc we couldn't find anywhere else that wasn't already booked for the days I needed to be in the area. We made the best of our experience by passing jokes to ourselves but I will honestly never stay here again!

Individual asked if he could buy drugs off me.. smells like cigarette smoke terrible in the hotel hallways.. individuals propping the back doors for anyone to walk in. Individual knocked at our door one day, he was on some sort of drug you could tell. He was trying to find his friend he told us..my guess was he was trying to find his drug dealer.. called for towels the first night and they told us they were all out of towels.. we had to wait till the next afternoon to get any.. also there was blood on my pillow..

We use this hotel whenever we are in GR. They offer rooms with a roll in shower which we need. They also provided us with an excellent shower stool which we found very helpful. I recommend this hotel for handicapped travelers but I can see that they do a great job for everyone!

Rooms were extremely musty, the carpet was moist and had several sticky areas. It was difficult to sleep because the air conditioner was so loud. Bugs were also by the windows. Just not a pleasant and comfortable environment to sleep in.

We referred to it as the “murder hotel”. Run down and dirty. We gutted it out for one night but will never return there or to any other Best Western. Smoky hallways. Dented doors. Dirty old carpet in the hallways. Broken items in our room. Ancient heating cooling that rattles right next to the bed. Unsealed windows that sound like they are open. Dirty curtains. Dim lighting. Tv was 16x9 ratio but def not HD. What decade are we in again??

Shuttle for me at the airport, my flight was late, hotel staff was on phone when I arrived my a reservation so refused to acknowledge me.☹️ Bed comfy, pillows awful, the bathroom wall behind the sink had toothpaste splatter all over it. Obviously not throughly cleaned. At the free breakfast cereal and yogurt there was no sugar free options for breakfast. Morning manager was friendly but blamed it on corporate and the state of the world. Took no responsibility.

I want to start off saying I am definitely not a hotel snob. I can usually stay in 2 star hotels with no issues. But with this one, I'm not sure who they are paying to write reviews for this hotel, but it was nothing like the reviews I read before booking. We pull up and 4 sheriff cars are there (red flag number one I guess). Check in took longer than expected, but when we get to our room the curtains are off the hooks and there isn't even a blanket on the bed, just sheets. We call and they say they can move us. Walking through the halls there was an overwhelming smell of weed and cat pee, and just a dirty smell. We get to our 2nd room and the door was cracked open. Yikes. At least there was a blanket in this room, but at this point the smell was making me feel sick. On top of the pit i already had in my stomach about the feel of this place. It was dirty, run down, and nothing like the reviews and pics. Thankfully, they refunded us, so at least the customer service was there and the lady at the front desk was kind. This place just definitely needs A LOT of work.

Staff was great, very pleasant and accommodating. They helped with check in, check out, and helped with items we forgot to bring with us for the stay. Great experience. We knew covid restrictions were in place but they still tried to make it a great stay.

Well they don't have their waffle maker open so it's just cereal or oatmeal for breakfast, there's not much to do at this hotel but the pool was fun. Room was clean besides a uses bar of soap someone had left in the shower.

Staff was helpful and very nice. Due to covid housekeeping doesn't come in the rooms - which wasn't a big deal when I had trash out it outside my room, needed towels I asked, even when I wanted to vacuum they let me use theirs. Breakfast was a grab and go, but coffee and hot tea all day. It is an older hotel but not bad at all. Pool was broken for some of my week stay, but did get to use it some of the time. Weekends were super loud a lot of people in the halls all night.

Rooms were dirty and beds and pillows were terrible. Staff was friendly and helpful. My husband stepped on a sewing needle. Bathrooms are so old looking. Would not recommend this hotel at all. I am so disappointed.

Bathroom toilet backed up constantly, had plunger in room at all time! Something had fallen in toilet and partially plugged line, or pipes are so old they're restricted? Load people could hear walking by in hall, rooms not real quite. People bouncing basketball on court after midnight could hear and annoying shouldn't be allowed! Outer walls not insulated well, I guess?!!!

This place is great. Everyone that I see via staff should get a pat raise. Between homes, this feels like I'm already there. The staff truly cares. In this world, that;s a lot too be said. AGAIN FULL MARKS. p.s. i WISH SIX STARS WAS AN OPTION.

One of the best Best Westerns! Friendly attentive staff. Best Covid restricted breakfast. Decent sized pool for swimming laps. Nicely appointed room. Very clean. Some current construction/repairs ongoing.

Rooms not kept up on maintenance...broken door frame with nails sticking out plus more! Filthy bathroom. Staff did not help with anything. Stood at the counter, talking to staff about another customer being overly paranoid and all while we waited to be helped.

We were greeted and treated very well by all staff for the duration of our stay. Everyone was very accommodating. The room was clean and didn't have any lingering odors. Everything worked-fridge, microwave, tv, lights, internet. The floor was clean also. I didn't feel like I was walking on filth. The need was clean and comfortable. However, they could use new pillows, they were kinda lumpy. But I still slept great!

I stayed there right before I left state and the front-desk check-in lady was very rude to me and my mother and even threatened to kick me out if I was found alone in the hotel room or in the hallway, even though I am 20 years old. Customer service here with this staff is not good. I've stayed there maybe two or three times before and the staff was perfectly friendly and helpful so I don't know why they got rid of them but this new staff is horrible.

This is, by far, the worst hotel I've ever experienced, ever. I stayed here for 4 days. This hotel is old, tired, stinky and DIRTY. I cleaned it myself with disinfectant wipes. We had to rearrange the furniture to plug in the microwave, and had to plug it into the lamp because there was no room on the outlet. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, despite the fact that they claim there is a big fine if you smoke in the room. The heater is loud and doesn't work very well. The hallways and common areas smell like pot smoke all the time. The freeway noise is no big deal, but there are people coming in and out and yelling down the hallways at all hours of the night, all night. The garbage piles up outside the hotel entry door for days. The coffee is terrible; tastes like they haven't cleaned the pot in a decade. The continental breakfast is coffee, water and cereal. The laundry room was out of order. The hot tub was closed. The TV reception is awful. Dear Best Western Management, you need to take a look at this location; it's not living up to the standards I've experienced at your other locations.

We chose this hotel for our Labor Day weekend vacation, it wasn't over expensive. Also accommodated my dog. The hotel itself is decent however the management is terrible. As soon as we arrived our hotel door was already open (it wouldn't close). Maintenance came and said he was going to get a screw driver to fix it. We waited 30 minutes and he never came back but told my boyfriend he had fixed it.. He also informed us they were looking for someone claiming to be housekeeping that was not and the guy was hiding in one of the rooms and they couldn't find him. The next night we asked for bath towels seeing as housekeeping hadn't come by and cleaned our room. They told us they had no towels. The next morning we asked for towels again and were told they wouldn't have any until around 4 that afternoon way after we would of had to check out. That same morning we were also woken by the police knocking on someone's door yelling at them to come outside. It seemed kind of sketchy to me that there were barely any cameras throughout the whole hotel either. None in the corridors just one over the door where the pool was. Wouldn't recommend this hotel for extended stay.

Normally impressed with Best Western's, however this one has a hit or miss experience. Pro - Hot shower, clean sheets, soft pillows, quiet end of hall, mini fridge/microwave worked great, 1st shift blonde front desk agent helpful/wore mask! Con - Check in 2nd shift trainee not in her element, no mask, and couldn't provide extra room coffee packets upon request (had 2 regular in room upon check in), no uniforms/name tags to point out staff/no masks worn, room stocked with lotion, hand sanitizer, conditioner, and face bar but no shampoo, only 2 bath towels for the 4 of us, room 144 exhaust fan does not turn on, one toilet seat bolt missing. Would recommend to traveler staying one night, as you would have everything needed for a comfortable stay. More than one night proved to be our issue.

Had stayed at this B/W before but had preferred the Comfort Inn nearby, which had suited our needs better. Comfort Inn was closed temporarily and this was 2nd choice. Check in was ok, but the room had a defective heat/AC unit, was given a room next door. That room had no clock-radio so went to the desk and the desk clerk acted like she didn't know what a clock radio was and when I explained what it looked like, she said I could take one from the room we just left. There was no breakfast, which I can understand, with the virus going around, but no grab and go bag like many of the others were doing. The room had one open-sided desk chair, very uncomfortable, no where else to sit. There was a padded seating bench, if one was inclined to sit against the wall. We prefer an easy chair in the room, our personal preference.

My wife and I were upgraded to a king suite because we are rewards members (first hotel to do that for us). The room was very nice/clean and the hotel was nice/clean also. Breakfast is on the 2nd floor overlooking the lobby and is the normal BW breakfast (which I enjoy). I have business meetings in Grand Rapids usually twice a year and I will be staying here each time in the future.

The property itself is located conveniently right off the highway near to many stores and restaurants. The property is a little dated, especially in common areas, but our guest room was clean and tidy. I had spoken with both Trent the GM & Rachel at the Front Desk prior to arrival and they were extremely helpful and hospitable and pushed our experience to the next level.

Room was good, but when I went to ask the front desk guy for extra towels, I ended up getting flirted with! I'm married and told him this! He went on about how he's a veteran and a bounty hunter??!! As if I even care! Needles to say I didn't get my towels, I went back to my room to stay away from that creep! He's a short fat guy with crooked eyes, his name is Richard or Ricky. I would not stay here while he's working.

We only stayed here to keep the cost under $100 for other family members. The employee checking us in Saturday night was not friendly at all. Our room (#156) was interesting. The toilet had been installed at an angle...really weird! My daughter found a one time use cell phone under her mattress (as she checked for bedbugs). That made us think there might have been drug deals or other illegal things going on in this room. Back to our Hilton hotels in the future.

Service overall was really good but I thought certain aspects of breakfast could be improved and upkeep of corridors and signage. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back.

i like staying at best western chain, they keep up the rooms and facilities. this one is a bit more used than ones i have stayed at, but the rooms were clean. to be fair, on the day of my stay, they were having issues with housekeeping. it happens , but management was on top of it, cleaning rooms and inspecting them selves. room was clean, and felt comforatble sleeping in bed. shower and bathroom clean. breakfast next day was typical breakfast fare, nothing over the top but satisfactory. will return

Older hotel that needs to be remodeled. Not sure I would not stay here again. Nice people working here. Beds are average. Pool big though. Lots of newer hotels around and restaurants too. Close to highway.

This is a nice hotel. The staff were great. We had a King Suite and it was very nice, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was ok. The pool area was very nice. The only reason I can not rate this hotel higher is the hot tub capacity was only 3 people. That would not be a big deal but the pool was cold. I asked for it to be turned up our first night there and I didnt happen. The next morning I asked the GM and she went and turned it up. We went swimming that evening and it was still cold.

I loved the breakfast! They even served dinner, hot dogs and burgers for dinner on weekdays! I truly Didn't want to leave! The kids stayed in the pool area and the staff was considerate and kind! Would come back!

The night shift front desk employee was not helpful at all. When I checked in at around midnight I asked her if they had any Roll away cribs and she said they probably did and she would check. I then unloaded my car and checked again with her with my child in hand and she said she would for sure check and call my room. After about 15 minutes (it's now 12:20 am or so) and no phone call, my wife went back to the desk to check and the front desk employee was just sitting on her cell phone chatting away with someone. My wife asked her again about a crib to which she says, “oh right, let's go find something.” She takes my wife to a storage room and gives her a pack n play. She then makes my pregnant wife carry is back to our room to finally get our son to sleep. Are you kidding me? I have never left a negative review of any place in my life (seriously) but this just took the cake.

I really enjoyed my stay at Best Western. The staff were courteous and polite. Rooms were very clean. Everything functioned as expected. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and recommended a nice sports bar/restaurant right next door. I had a very relaxing trip and slept like a rock.

Lots to like here! After a long drive, I appreciated that the hotel was immediately off the highway. Clean rooms, many plugs for charging devices, large work desk with a reasonably comfortable chair. Breakfast is on the second floor in a very nice open area filled with natural light. Welcomed warmly at check in. Great sports bar immediately next door with a 15% discount for guests. Large grocery/department store straight across the road (Meijers) carries absolutely everything you might need.

The staff at Best Western Cascade make an already great hotel even better. In particular, Heather is always courteous, efficient and professional. Kia and Tamika are also very personable and helpful addressing any and all concerns regarding my stay. Best Western Cascade is awesome!

After looking details of hotels/motels near the airport ,i Best Western had the best price and room choices for 5 of us.The "guy's room" was the standard 2 queen beds and ladies took the king with a sofa bed.Wow ! 2 complete bathrooms, snack area with coffee pot,microwave and fridge,a sofa bed with a comfortable mattress and 2 t.v.s. Both rooms were very clean. Great choice and worth having the BW card.

The room was clean, staff was helpful and very quick with check in and out. My only real complaint is the continental breakfast was very lack luster even by continental breakfast standards. They did have good coffee though.

The location is excellent with many eateries and retail stores available as well as a Star Bucks close by. The pool and hot tub was an added bonus which we enjoyed. The room was pleasant and the breakfast was very adequate.

We checked in at around 4:30 in the afternoon. The first room we were given had not been cleaned, the second room we were given had not been cleaned, the third room had been but was not the room promised as "compensation" for the first 2 dirty rooms. We were told we were being given a king suite, it was an ordinary 2 queen beds room. The young man at the desk was very apologetic, that did not change anything! We stayed there last year pre a flight also and it was fine, after this year not again. There are better options! Oh, when I asked for a discount the young man said I could talk to the manager the next day, he well knew we were leaving at 4:30 am!

We arrived to our room at 8 pm and the room had not been cleaned. The beds were disgusting, the bathroom was even grosser. We were given a second room that room was the same as the first. Finally our third room was cleaned. So VERY UNACCEPTABLE!!! We will definitely be contacting corporate. If nothing is done for us we will be finding a different hotel when we come down next time. (We stay here 4x a year for cheer competitions) EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED!!!

We traveled from Florida to Michigan to spend christmas with our grandson. We checked in and our room was dirty. They never changed our sheets or made our bed for 3 days. We complained to management and she said they were understaffed. When we returned for the remainder of our stay we were faced with the same situation

Staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was just average. We were there for new year's eve family party. Kids wanted to use the pool but there were not enough chairs for adults to use while the kids were swimming. While standing and watching our kids, water was dripping from the overhead pipes in the pool area.

We wanted to do a little get away with our kids. We just stayed 1 night, but the hotel was a great price for 6 of us. The rrom had plenty of space & was very clean. The pool & hot tub were clean & spacious. Breakfast was excellent!

My son had a medical emergency and was transported over 400 miles from home. Having had to quickly scrape together what I could and get on the road to be there with him my anxiety was at an all time high. I was also bone weary after a sleepless night prior. When I came in to rent a room I was helped by Rachel. She is wonderful! She is professional, courteous and all around amazing. She made what had turned into a long, extremely stressful day MUCH better. She really went the extra mile and should be recognized for it! Thank you, Rachel!!!

We took advantage of their Park and Fly service because we departed on an early flight and returned on a late flight. Very good service. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and overall the room was very clean. We will use they again.

Husband and I were very impressed with everything about this hotel. From the cleanliness, to the overall look, to the amenities offered and the price. In addition, it was pet friendly, and they did not charge extra for your pet. Will stay at this property again in the future! Way to go Best Western! We will be repeat customers.

Tv reception only worked when room heater was running. Shower handle wasn't mounted to anything Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was hot and relatively thresh. Bed and linens were clean. Super 8 room. Not super 8 rate

I have stayed here 4 times and have not been disappointed. Great room, tasty breakfast, nice staff, big pool area, beautiful picnic area with basketball court. There is a burger joint right next door.

Stayed here overnight to catch a very early morning flight. Pluses = easy check-in, quiet room, convenient to airport, good airport shuttle, "grab and go" breakfast options if you are leaving before breakfast is served, nice swimming pool, work-out area, enclosed interior courtyard, several decent restaurants nearby that give motel guests 15% discount. Only negative = shuttle advertised as 24 hours "on demand" but really is every 30 minutes, which meant leaving a bit earlier than I wished. If I had occasion to overnight to catch a flight (or after arriving on a late flight) I'd happily do it again.

We needed a place to stay with our dog, other hotels in the area were charging $100-150 a stay. Best Western's pet policy is by far the best out there, Only $10.00/night. Unfortunately this hotel is very dated. The rooms are old and the bathroom had mold. The elevator didn't work the whole time we were there. The staff was friendly.

I was originally sent to the wrong room. Then I walked back up front to grab key cards for new room. Those key cards didn't work. I walked back to the front desk and received 2 new key cards. These ones worked but the door was locked from the inside leading me to believe the room was already occupied. Nobody came to the door but maybe they were sleeping. Finally got key cards to a new room that worked. The toilet was extremely wobbly and the showered was stuck on a setting and could not be changed.

Good Parts: Fresh, hot food on the breakfast Buffett attended by helpful staff More food in the evening including hodogs, and other hot sandwiches. Coffee and hot water was also available. Comfortable beds. Convenient from the highway. Bad Parts: No chair or couch besides the desk chair. No shower curtain liner. Curtain was a wrinkled mess requiring constant adjusting or you stepped out of the shower into puddles of water. We got fresh towels and a made bed, but the toilet rim was untouched.

the staff was friendly and hard working however the Tv had very very poor picture quailty and my husband wanted to relax after our long drive and watch the baseball game he was unable to do this which put a damper on our trip. Breakfast was so so more vegan options owuld have been nice the pool was nice

Attempted to check in around 10PM. Our room had been given away to someone else and were originally told there were no more disability accessible rooms available. The desk was manned by one under trained person who was very sweet but just not trained well enough to be the only person working on a weekend that he stated was sold out. After waiting close to 30 minutes to check in, he found us a room but could only be sure we had it for one night. Management made no attempt to notify whether we would need to change rooms or apologize for giving our room to someone else. Extremely disappointed. Would definitely not use if you are a disabled individual that needs particular services.

I booked this hotel for my husband and I and our wedding guests on our wedding night. Let me just start by saying that I am embarrassed that this is the hotel that I chose for our guests to stay in after they attended my wedding. I had originally booked a different hotel but I had ended up changing it due to the fact that I was told by one of the hotel employees that they offer a hotel shuttle and this would include, to and from our wedding venue. The woman that I spoke with even went as far as to map out how far the venue was from the hotel and confirmed with me that this was located within the transportation range. When we arrived and inquired about the shuttle, the man, or so called "manager" stated that he knew nothing about this but we was willing to work with me and make it happen for us. Together we determined a schedule for the shuttle.. Well, no shuttle showed up.. I had multiple guests, including my husband and I, standing outside of my wedding venue only for no shuttle to ever show up. I spoke with the same "manager" again in the morning and asked him what had happened.. he said that the shuttle service never answered his call (mind you, when I had spoke with him before, it was nearly 5-6 hours before I even left for my wedding) I asked him why he did not call me or come tell me that there was an issue with the shuttle and his response was that "he did not know my phone number" Bull! I was staying in HIS hotel and I had actually gotten a call the day before from the hotel lobby on my cell phone. He was very rude and he did not care what so ever that I was upset with him and his hotel but whatever, I asked for my total, he gave me my bill and I payed cash.. I was done with that place.. Not... 1 day later.. I am getting ready to leave for my honeymoon and I get a notification that my credit card has been charged $275.00.. That is more than I paid in cash earlier when I had checked out!! I call and they tell me that they will refund the $275 but I still owe them 60 dollars.. How is this possible? The "manager" gave me a total when I checked out and I paid it.. I ended up paying it but I am not happy about it. I should have gotten a full refund for my stay I do not want a response from any of the management team (including OMAR) as they are the reason all of this happened. There was no HD on my television. Also there has been a hold on my credit card for over a week now and the room is paid in full. Finally the mirror in the bath room was to low for to see my face without sitting in a chair.

Location was important as our grandchild was participating in a soccer tournament. This hotel the typical hot continental breakfast and also very good coffee. The typical measurement for rating a hotel is Value Received equaled Value Given -- this hotel met this measuremen.

The staff were great, the room was clean. Breakfast was very good. The building was tired and needed some updates. The bed skirts and sheers were very wrinkled. Could use a little more, TLC. I would stay again it was great value.

We have been in hotels from Hawaii to Punta Cana, and Rachel was by far the best service we have received!!! She worked the desk at the Best Western on 28th Street in Grand Rapids, Mi. When I first walked in there were crushed up chips on the ground, spider webs in the bathroom, and a spider in the bathroom. Manager could no nothing for me other than give me Rewards Points. Very disappointed with our “clean” room condition.

Be aware when you call to inquire about a room!! The male employee who “helped” my boyfriend told him they had no availability and neither did the other Best Westerns in the area. Without any notice, the worker transferred him to a Motel 6 and a room that could not be cancelled was booked. Being unfamiliar with the area, my boyfriend thought if Best Western recommends them then it should be ok. Long story short since this is not a Motel 6 review (which will be done also), we did not stay at the Motel 6 and were unable to get a refund. Wondering now if the Best Western employee is somehow aligned with the Motel 6....? Otherwise why would he say they did not have any availability when they did?? Stayed at the Baymont next door to the Best Western and were very happy with that place.

Traveling in Michigan going down the west side of the state. Best Western was the best stay so far. Great service for check in and out, friendly staff, clean parking lot (well maintained), room was clean, large, with very comfortable king bed, air worked very well.

Most disgusting BW! I do not know where to start...from the spiders on the floor and curtains, to the hairs all over bathroom floor and shower walls, or the dried piss on the toilet?!? To top it off there was a silver mini van outside our windows all night peeping in, whom we reported to the officer on surveillance across the road whom said he'd never stay there...

the moment we walked into our room we were disappointed. the room smelled like it hadnt been clean in sometime. soon after was killing spiders, had to remove food from fridge left from previous guest. wow thats bad. cob webs and spider webs were thick around the a/c vents. couldnt believe our eyes, had trouble with our access keys not working and after a day with family came back to a room not cleaned. not even touched. our hard earned money wasted. i see good reviews on this hotel and wonder how.. will spend a little moren ext time to go to a hotel where they truly care about a clean hotel room.

Nice convenient location... Close to attractions and other restaurants. This hotel had clean rooms, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Rooms were good size and beds were comfortable. We had a great stay and would go again...

Our room was great, staff were friendly however while we were at breakfast someone went into our room, went through our things and stole over $50 out of my wallet. I was flabbergasted. I imagine it was a staff member, as the room was locked. I was shocked!

Booked as part of a group for softball tournament. BUGS IN THE ROOMS. One person who checked in the night before was bitten during the night from these critters. Please do not stay here if you value cleanliness and your health. They would not refund our money when we left because of the bugs. Now have called three times and spoke to OMAR the manager and he only apologized and said that no refunds because we could not rent that room once you left. I would hope that they would have the pest control company out, not resell that room. I just spoke with them yesterday and they still refused...So here are the pictures of what you will get...

My wife and I had our flight out of GRR canceled and had to stay the night. Thankfully when we entered the Best Western we were greeted by the sweetest most down to earth lady, Loretta. She has the best customer service I have seen from any hotel I have been to. I highly recommend this location.

Did not receive the style room I reserved. I was given a king bed and a cot (terrible) when I reserved a two bed room. Was given no consolation, and was given the impression the staff could care less. Manager too busy to speak to me. Breakfast was not on time. In fact one day I arrived 30 minutes after breakfast was supposed to be open and not even the coffee was ready.

No air in our room, they did switch us but it took some complaining to get it done. The food choices were plenty but ALL the hot food was cold and need to be microwaved, I have microwaved eggs. Sausage was cold even the oatmeal was cold how do you get cold oatmeal when it's made with hot water.

The hotel was nice upon check in front desk staff is very nice got to my room with my one year old there was pubic hair all on the bathroom floor and in the tub and toliet I seen the manager of house keeping in the hall had her look at my room and she picked a girl out of the tub and had someone lint roll the floor then I seen toenails and rocks on the carpet floor all she had the clean do was vacuum and she didnt come back to check it and there was still hair everywhere in my bathroom I literally laid towels down to walk on didnt feel comfortable at all in the room pool and hot tub were decent deep pool hot dogs for lunch and breakfast was better then most

We had a great stay. My kids said if we ever go to Michigan again that's where they want to stay. They really enjoyed the pool The hot tub could use some cleaning though and an updated coffee pot in the room. Overall, great experience though.

Nice hotel. Good breakfast and pool. The room was comfortable too. The location was convenient. We stayed as part of a wedding group. My only complaint was that they didn't put everyone nearby. Also the breakfast area was on the second floor. Anyone staying there with physical problems will need to use the elevator.

Clean rooms, great staff. Breakfast was standard continental. Big pool. Could use more outdoor benches near doors. TV channels were quite fuzzy. Courtyard space under utilized and overgrown in spots. Very friendly courteous staff.

The property is dated but clean. The room assigned at check in hadn`t been made up so we went back to the desk and were eventually given a new room. There were a few issues with it. The bathroom door wouldn't close, the plumbing squeeled when the shower ran and the air conditioner was very loud and clunked. We didn't report any of this because we had already been made to feel like we were being a pain because our room had to be changed. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean so we decided to just suck it up rather than face the desk clerk again. The breakfast selections were wonderful as was the woman working there. She was friendly and helpful even though the breakfast area was extreemly warm. It turned out, we needed to stay an extra night (Sunday). The same person was on the desk as the day we checked in. When I questioned the rate she quoted being $43 more than it was on the Best Western website, she got offended and short with me. Karen, who I think was a supervisor over heard our conversation and stepped in. She was polite and accommodating. In the end, we felt sour about the experience and chose to go to a different hotel for our extra night.

Although my stay was brief, the facility was clean, comfortable and very adequate for my needs. The breakfast was good, the pooland hot tub looked very inviting, too bad I did'nt have time to appreciate them, maybe next time. The room was very clean and comfortable, the service was polite and attentive to all the guests, I felt very welcomed and relaxed.

Our travel baseball team stayed at this hotel. I would not recommend it to others. Our room smelled horrible! Upon our arrival, there was a used cat litter box in the hall. One family with our group had to request a room change, as their room smelled disgusting. Another family with a suite had a large stain on the sofa.

I'm not sure how this place receives any positive ratings, the hotel is just plain disgusting. The hotel smells of sewage outside and the two rooms we had reeked of sewage. We were moved from one of the rooms due to the window falling out of the window (no joke) and the next room didn't smell quite as bad. The A/C didn't cool quite right and we had to keep the shower with a slight drip or else there would be a rattling noise in the bathroom. The TV was crappy but I guess that is what personal devices are for. The breakfast was fine, but the dining area had a spill with a caution sign around it but wasn't cleaned up for an entire day. Now as far as the staff goes, they were great. The check-in was great, the staff at the front desk were always helpful and the maintenance person was outstanding however, if the hotel is crappy it's really a moot point.

We have been here a number of times. Good staff for the most part, fair food and good location to serve all GR areas. Accomadating to big groups of kids being kids for the most part. Have had few issues but have been helpful at front desk

We were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness, freshness & comfort of our room! We would return a heartbeat. It would be nice to be a little taller to easily get in / out of their very comfortable beds though.

The exterior of the hotel is in need of updating. The room itself was nice and accommodating. The guests next door were loud so I had to call the front desk. The receptionist quickly came to my rescue. I was pleased with her concern and promptness in resolving the issue. Breakfast met my expectations and check out was easy.

The only positive thing about this place is the friendly staff. Unfortunately whomever did the remodel did a terrible job. The windows do not open at all not even the standard 3 or 4 inches at most best westerns. They are also patched with duct tape to keep them closed. There so much bird droppings on the balcony, it looks like floor texture. Room has cracked tile that poses walking safety hazard. Bugs on window sill. Dirty door handles, light switches. You touch them and have to wash your hands from whatever sticky substance hasn't been cleaned off. If you need a cheap room this is your place. I would never stay here again because of lack of cleanliness and the fact they don't care what there rooms look like. How hard is it to fill gaps with caulk thats the correct color, outlets with the correct color plate, trim peices that actually cover the window all the way, fill the bird holes so you don't get poop all over.

I was quite surprised when we pulled up to this hotel. At first I thought I had reserved the wrong hotel because it didn't look quite like the pictures on the website. Once I walked in the hotel, it was quite different on the inside. Looked very chic and modern unlike its appearance from the outside. The staff was extremely helpful and very accommodating. The rooms were fully stocked and super clean. The continental breakfast they offered, had many different variety of foods to fit just about everyone's taste. The pool was clean and towels were kept stocked. There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room which is a plus for travelers. The rates were very reasonable too.

I recently attended an event in Grand Rapids and chose to stay at the Best Western Hospitality Hotel & Suites. The hotel is located right off the interstate and has numerous dining options within a 5 minute drive or walk right beside the hotel. There is a 24-hour Meijer store across the street (handy for those who prefer fresh fruit or other snacks and beverages). There is also excellent shopping all within 20 minutes of the hotel. Costco, Home Depot, Trader Joe's, Aldi … you name it, it isn't too far. There is also a very active mall (Woodland Mall) right down the street with a large Macy's and REI. So in terms of location - GREAT! The room was a bit dated with the furniture all showing signs of a life well lived. The room was huge - actually a suite which also featured TWO full BATHROOMS!!! Great if you are travelling with another couple or teenage kids. The hotel is pet-friendly and has a nice open space behind the hotel to exercise your pet. My only complaint was that the coffee maker in the room was broken and by the time I established that fact it was too late to do anything about it (we were on our way out). Also, there was not a single blanket to be found in the room which was regrettable given the wet and cool spring we are having in Michigan. That was a first for me but stuff happens! If you book ahead, rates are very reasonable. All in all a solid and reasonably priced choice.

Reservations and check- in were fast and easy. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great variety of food offered for breakfast. Complimentary light dinner served Monday through Thursday. Fast and friendly service!

Confortable room and bed. Pillows are just top. Good location to reach several restaurants. This was my second stay in this hotel. Good price/quality ratio. Helpful desk personnel. No doubt I"ll come back.

Anything that could go wrong on our trip went wrong, but thanks to this hotel and especially Shantel, we at least had a nice clean peaceful place to stay. They went out of their way to help us, and the staff is stellar. Pool is awesome, and if you have a dog there's a courtyard where they can run around in and exercise. If I could give this more stars I would. I couldn't ask for a better stay.

We spent one afternoon and evening here. We were greeted and checked in within 5 min. Nice reception area and when we got there Rachel said we were just in time for hot dogs, chips and mac&cheese. Everyday they have a different special Mon-Fri. It was a nice treat. We enjoyed the pool too. Quite large and deep for those who like to swim. Hot tub also. Good internet service. In the back of the hotel they have a basketball court. Nice to see it used by a large group of hockey players from NY. We also had a nice, full breakfast which is located on the second floor....away from the reception area. It is located right off the Xway and stores and restaurants within walking distance.

While this is an older motel that has been refurbished, the rooms are very nicely decorated with comfy beds and linens. The pool is very large for a hotel, there is a basketball court outside, nice breakfast, good wi-fi, and free food at dinnertime on weekdays, I think (we were there for taco Tuesday). Pet friendly.

The beds are rock hard, the grout in the bathroom has holes in it, the bathroom has no working fan, tv has channels that don't work, getting out of the parking lot is a nightmare, the front desk is rude and condescending.

Front desk and housekeeping are second to none. They have everything you need and are more than willing to go out of their way to help in any way they can. The breakfast is second to none and there's always plenty available. The pool and fitness center are clean and the hours they are open are perfect.

We enjoyed this hotel for a much needed night of rest after traveling long distance before flying out of the GRR airport which is only a few minutes away. We chose this hotel for the convenience and great reviews. The pool and hot tub are indoors and excellent! The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Definitely a great value!

Jacuanna, the front desk associate, was extremely helpful and courteous. She was still in training, but was sole to let us check in 45 min early. My family and I are from out of town, Houston, and she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. This hotel staff as a whole, is great.

We had an amazing stay before we flew out in Grand Rapids! The pool was super relaxing and we slept SO good on the pillows! Where do you guys get your pillows from?! We need some at home! Thank you for the stay!

Our first time staying at this property and was impressed from check in til check out. Friendly,professional & knowledgeable staff. The front desk personnel ( Ryan, Shante) were so welcoming , it was like visiting family. Also, M.B.the maintenance/shuttle driver was prompt with any of our requests. The amenities,price & proximity to the airport will definitely make us return visitors.

This hotel definitely deserves a better ranking than it currently has, because we almost passed it up for a different hotel in the same area, but we are so glad we didn't! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome being greeted with a warm smile from Nykia who was working at the Front Desk and assisted us with checking in and answered every question we had. We were also very impressed with how clean this hotel was, from the lobby area to our room, it seemed very well taken care of. When we were bringing in our luggage we were fumbling to find our keys to open the door, but Ryan who we found out is the General Manager just happened to be walking by and not only did he open the door for us, but he also took both of our suitcases for us and walked us to our room. When we offered to give him a tip for going out of his way for us, he told us thank you but it's part of his job and to hold onto it to give to one of his team members instead, which shows just how much he cares about his staff. Although we can't remember all of the staff members we encountered during our stay, they all seemed to truly care about the guests of their hotel, and didn't hesitate to ask us if they could do anything more to make our stay enjoyable. If you are visiting the Grand Rapids area, and don't stay at this Best Western, you are truly missing out! We can't wait to come back and stay here again sometime soon!

I frequent the Best Western Hospitality Hotel and Suites 2-3 times a month, a week at a time. The new General Manager is Ryan, Assistant Manager is Karen. These two make sure that I am taken care of as a regular. I also see the great service provided to all guests who stay here. There is dinner provided Mon- Thurs, a good breakfast buffet in the mornings. The pool and hot tub area is nice as well. There have been many upgraded renovations in the past year, that has improved the appeal. Other staff who are like family is: Shante, Nikea, Sunshine, Loretta, Enrique and Ravi. As a VP of Operations, Customer Service is very important to me to give and receive. This BW will always have my loyalty and my business because they are truly my 2nd home. If you stop and stay here, you made the right choice.

The hotel was clean, great access to the highway and the breakfast was very good. This was a one night stay but I was pleased to see a heated pool and hot tub. The room was very clean but the thermostat fluctuated quite a bit causing me to fidget with it a few times during the night. Overall I would definitely come back .

We stayed here to be close to our granddaughters soccer match which was at a nearby facility. When we arrived a young lady (Iasha) a trainee, assisted us. With the help from Karen (manager), they were able to add a room to our existing reservation, so our son's family could also stay. Iasha and Karen were just as pleasant and kind as we have ever dealt with! Our rooms weren't adjoining but next to each other which worked just great! The room was neat and well appointed, complete with fridge and microwave. The only negative was the poor TV channel options and picture quality. The pool and hot tub were wonderful! Our seven grandchildren absolutely loved this place! The morning breakfast was also excellent! We would definitely stay here again in the future!

The staff was amazing, friendly, and helpful even during very busy moments. The breakfast was good. Overall experience was great for cost of the hotel. Many people showed up due to loss of power the hotel offered dinner for people and allowed multiple pets in rooms without charging multiple fees. They were caring at a time that people were displaced from their homes unexpectedly!

We stayed here with kids and the pool area was perfect! The pool was big and the water temperature was very comfortable. Rooms were average size and nothing exciting, but it was nice to have a frig and microwave. Breakfast in the morning had many options or hot and cold options. Nice lobby area and close to restaurants. We were happy with our stay here. Staff was nice.

We just needed a hotel for one night to help our daughter and son-in-law move. I called a few close hotels and spoke with Nykia at this one. Her sincere friendliness on the phone made my decision between similar hotels easy. When we arrived days later, she was still just as friendly and thoughtful as were the others at the desk. They gave us a little welcome bag too! We only stayed one night, but our room was clean and comfortable, FREE breakfast was tasty and we will stay there again when visiting the kids!

Stayed here as a last minute road trip. The room was very quiet, which we requested. We never heard any doors close, toilets flush, showers or TV's (speaking of TV's, the channel selection is very limited). The pool is very large. The hot tub is large but the timer wasn't working & the jets weren't very strong. Most of the jets are on one side of the hot tub. There were no towels, but when someone asked, they were brought out (we were in the pool from 9-10 pm). We didn't use the gym, but we could see it was very small. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but my partner wasn't too thrilled with the breakfast. The waffles were probably the best part of his breakfast. Breakfast is on the 2nd floor. There are elevators on each floor.

We have stayed at this Best Western before and love it. Your grandchildren enjoy it too. The pool and hot tub are nice, as well at all the staff. We came to town to visit an elderly friend, so this hotel was perfect. Thanks for a great stay!

Pool was huge, hot tub was hot, only problem we seen was the bathroom door didn't stay shut nor it wouldn't lock. Cable isn't really cable - no kid channels . But overall we had a nice night with family

We stayed at the Best Western because of their fitness center, hot tub and swimming pool: we greatly enjoyed all of them. This was a short vacation for us and we enjoyed the R & R and appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

I have stayed in about 15 different Grand Rapids hotels in the past year. None meet the standards set by Best Western in terms of warmth, friendliness, and quality of service. Since discovering this property, I return here, time and again knowing the warm smile at check in is just the start of another great experience! The breakfast bar is well stocked, the pool is quite large, and the staff are awesome! Ryan (hotel manager) and staff go above and beyond! Enjoy!

This place is a great getaway. Very relaxing and quiet! The hot tub and pool are clean and big enough. Rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. The breakfast was super. Great selection of hot and cold eats. Selections varied daily. Check in and out was very fast and convenient.

This hotel had friendly staff that were always available. They were quick and courteous. There were nice extras such as a coney dogs and tacos in addition to a deluxe breakfast area. I plan on staying here again and bringing my family.

General Manager Ryan Drake and Assistant General Manager Karen Everest were ever so accommodating. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you did. The breakfast was very nice as well. Hotel is just minutes away from Grand Rapids Gerald R. Ford Airport. Very convenient.

We were staying at an extended stay nearby. When we found out our apartment wouldn't be ready for another 6 days we checked out and checked into this Best Western location. So glad we did. It was far more comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Plus we actually got breakfast every morning and they serve dinner Monday through Thursday.

Our room was at the second floor almost at the end corner of the building very quiet, clean and large. The hallway carpets look like getting old. We like it's closeness to the airport and shuttle service.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast and great pool. Enjoyed swimming with my grandson. Hallway carpets were a little worn, but clean. Lobby decorated for Halloween, clean and inviting. Will definitely be staying again.

The place was clean and nice. It was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was good in the morning. They had eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, toast, yogurt, and cereal. I'd definitely come back there to stay.

I live at this hotel every other week for work and I do so because of the WONDERFUL level of customer Service from the Front Desk staff. Specifically, Shante, Sunshine, Nikia and Karen. These ladies ALWAYS make me feel welcome and make sure I am taken care of along with any other employees I send there.. There are many other hotels I could stay at, however: I wouldn't trade these ladies for any hotel!!

Check in was pretty quick and the clerk was trained right...she put a caller on hold to continue waiting on us. Room 114 was nice & clean, faced the courtyard, had plug in for computer on the lamp base, on a large table. Wi-fi reception good. Large screen tv and easy to use remote. Plenty of towels. Commode a little bit low it seemed. Glad we didn't want to use the pool as it was closed. Had a nice lunch-style dinner with chips, salsa, cold cuts, salad, dressings, bread, hot dogs and buns. (Were there on a Wednesday), and is offered from 5 to 7. After 6, though, the hot dogs were gone as were almost all of the cold cuts and cheeses. The beds were comfortable so had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was okay with scrambled eggs, bacon, and all the other goodies including waffle maker, yogurts and juices and fruits. Breakfast is served on the second floor, but there is an elevator. Only took us a little over 10 minutes to get to the airport and that was during morning rush hour.

We much enjoyed our 2-night stay at this hotel. Everyone at the front desk was kind, helpful, & attentive! When I made our reservation LATE in the evening, I had a kind & helpful person named Ryan, who handled the reservation very well. At sometime during our stay, I learned that he was the General Manager of this hotel. His management skills were a testimony to the excellent stay we enjoyed. It was a fun treat to be greeted at check-in with a complimentary light supper, & we also much appreciated that this hotel was pet-friendly, as our 2 little dogs travel with us. The accommodations, very friendly staff at all times, the large breakfast, & ease of access to the freeway, all were positives! We much enjoyed our stay at this Best Western, & will return to it, when we travel in this direction. Thanks for making us feel like we were at home, with the welcoming friendliness!

From the moment we arrived, the front desk attendant Ms. Nykia B. greeted us with a beautiful, welcoming smile and tended to all of our needs. Unfortunately the previous guests in our original room did not adhere to the no-smoking policy. When we called the front desk to inform them of the situation, not only did they apologize for this inconvenience which was of not fault of theirs but they moved us to a new room and upgraded us to a suite without hesitation. Ms. Nykia was so professional, pleasant and helpful we will not hesitate to stay at this location again if we are ever in the area. Thank you Nykia!! Carmen & Eric Boone

Stayed 1 night for business. The room was clean and the staff at check in was extremely friendly. The price was great for the location. By far a great stay and would stay again if in the area. Great value and staff.

The noise and craziness of guests until 3AM was a problem. Staff didn't seem to be able to control the inconsiderate activities and could only apologize. Facilities issue were also a problem like out of service elevator and 1st flr room with broken lock on window and lack of breakfast items and space.

As a whole the hotel was good for a stop over. Nice free breakfast. Microwave and fridge in room. Must be willing to climb 1 flight of stairs or walk from a single elevator in the front of hotel. Parking is plentiful in the back of the hotel. It connects to another lot. Near shopping and restaurants, need a car.

nice to find a pleasant hotel to call home while visiting sons and grandkids thank you so much the accomendations are just perfect and makes the visit even more rewarding centrally located with everything you could need around as far as shopping eating etc.

So if your TV works, this is probably a fine place to stay. But I wanted to watch the news and the remote did not work. I called the front desk, its been an hour now and I'm still waiting. In the meantime, I figured out how to manually turn it on and change stations, but NPR has no audio and there is not guide to stations. I called after 45 minutes to say that I was still waiting, and its been 15 minutes since that phone call. So, draw your own conclusions but be forwarned, if its not working, it may not get fixed during your stay.

My husband and I were traveling home from a mini vacation when our car broke down. The BW shuttle picked us up after waiting for a tow for three hours. The front desk heard our story and upgraded our room to a beautiful king suite AND gave us a discount! In addition we were granted a late check out while our truck was being repaired. Karen and Ryan along with the rest of the team turned a very stressful situation into a relaxing extended vacation.BW is super clean, amazingly friendly and the rooms are updated and lovely. Thank you BW!

Room rate could not be beat for the endless amenities at this hotel. The pool is huge and a perfect temp. The hot tub was bliss! The breakfast buffet was perfect with something for all of us. The bed and pillows provided a wonderful night's rest. It is located conveniently to a huge Meijer and every restaurant you could want. 1/4 mile to the expressway. The manager Ryan was especially generous with helping me with a bank issue. I will definitely stay again.

Love the evening dinner they set out for guest. Breakfast has a great selection to choose from. Transportation to the airport is very helpful. Staf is very friendly and know the area. Highly recommend!!

We were driving from western Michigan to Toronto, and did not get on the road until fairly late, so stopped for the night in Grand Rapids. I think we got one of the last rooms available at this Best Western, so it was definitely booked to capacity. I am admittedly a bit of a pillow snob, but I found the pillows to be rather uncomfortable, but to be fair, I didn't ask to see if there were alternative options. The vending machine in the lobby was not well cooled, as the chocolate bar my son purchased came out fully melted. Finally, there was no hot water in the morning, which made for an invigorating, if unwelcome start to the day. For this, the nightly rate of >$200 USD seemed a bit on the high side. We mentioned the hot water issue when checking out and were told that a manager would contact us... we never heard a thing. I guess we were fortunate to get a room at all on a rainy night where availability seemed to be at a premium, but I was not all that impressed.

I was pleasantly surprised, since I stay at least 30+ nights a year at other properties and resorts. From the beginning when we worked with the sales manager Shante it was great. Everything she promised, she delivered on and the hotel staff (Mary, Nakia, Enrico and Sunshine) took us across the finish line. They were professional, helpful, accommodating and had a witty sense of humor to go with it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my clients and other family members. The location was very convenient. The rooms/suites were clean and very well maintained. Don't let the outside of the property fool you. Not that the outside looked terrible, but I have to admit that it's dated. What mattered to me was what I found on the inside upon arrival. Very much modern from the decor in the lobby to the bedding and furniture in the rooms. Thank you team Best Western for making this a memorable family reunion. We couldn't have pulled it off without you.

My wife and I had been traveling all day from visiting family around the state and desired a quality lodging (with air conditioning as we are from AK and wanted a reprieve from the July heat) so we chose Best Western based on past good experiences. At checking in the customer in front of us was being inappropriately difficult and Sunshine maintained a pleasant professional demeanor. She then accommodated our every request and set us up with a great room. Thank You Sunshine!! I recommend this hotel to everyone as well as Brann's Steakhouse next door where the meals, drinks, and service were perfect...

After reading the reviews & seeing rating on T/A, felt like this facility would be a quality hotel at a fair price. Reserved a room online and requested an early check-in instead of 3 pm (if available) since we were traveling with our 4 yo grandson, who still naps after lunch. Arrived at facility at 11 am to see if they could accommodate us. Front desk said no, but to come back between 1 & 2 when they thought might work. Arrived just after 2 & was told still couldn't get a room cleaned for early check-in, but to wait in lobby. So we waited. And waited. Turned out, we actually didn't get a key until 3:25. Oddly enough, Best Western management was auditing the property while we were camped out in the lobby with a gurney full of luggage but never inquired. Then, between about 3:40 & 4:45, they allowed 2 different guests our room key, both attempting to enter while we were in room (with grandson "trying" to late nap). Also, being a renovated hotel, there were several early morning loud door slams, one completely waking the child. Beds were average quality. Room was pretty clean as was the pool area. Service was par for this price room. Breakfast was good, though seating during peak hours (6:45-7:30 am) was tight. Would consider staying again, but only with much better rate and no young children.

Thanks to all. I wasn't expecting to rave about this hotel, but it was all good. Honestly, I picked it because it wasn't super expensive. Front desk (Sunshine), nice room, well kept outside and inside, complimentary breakfast, and I couldn't believe they have complimentary dinner. Monday thru Thursday, perfect for families with kids.

We spent two nights at this hotel and it was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. I loved the layout of the room with a living space and bedroom decided by the bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good also.

My family came in from several different states for my Mother's memorial and using your small conference room to make picture boards and discuss the memorial really made it convenient. The staff is very helpful and great rooms! Can't thank them enough.

I made my booking and mentioned i wanted to have a room on the quite side I got the room the nearest to the highway So haven't slept well Every truck that pass by You can hear it Disappointed since they did not gave me a quite room but realybthe opposite

PERFECT in nearly every aspect for the annual Rick Mahorn Big Man Camp. Players and coaches enjoyed shuttle pick up from airport, shuttle travel to mall, nearby restaurants and gym just 5-7 minute walk. Hotel staff was GREAT - especially Mrs. Hardiman who handled all our arrangements, Randy at the front desk, and shuttle drivers Enrique, Gregg and Ali. Great hot buffet breakfast daily includes enough healthy items for those looking to eat healthy, and complimentary light dinner week nights (hot dogs, another dish like mac and cheese or tacos, and salad). Meijer's has a flagship supermarket right across the street and the rooms come with mini-fridge and microwave. Indoor pool and jacuzzi You cannot go wrong at this hotel!!

The staff here was really great. We did run into a problem when at 7am a crew started replacing the hallway door to the outside and all the doors in the pool area. We were woken up by power tools. I imagine this won't happen to other customers since the work is done but the staff told me they had no warning so couldn't place people in rooms further from the construction. This shows a big issue with the management and the corporation in not communicating in a way that thinks of their guests first. The management of the chain is not thinking about the quality experience of their customers. The employees did the right thing, said they would refund the room but since I booked through a third party (priceline or hotels.com) they could only give me points in their rewards program. The points never came until I called three times over two weeks. The people are nice but they need work on their communication, it seems, at all levels. Aside from that, on another morning of our stay the staff running the breakfast buffet helped me get breakfast right as they were closing. I had appointments all that morning and was starving. They were so kind and even turned the waffle machine back on so I could eat. 4 stars on our first stay. 1 star on our second stay.

We had a one night stay here before a 6:00 AM flight out of Michigan The king suite was nice and big and loved having 2 bathrooms for the early morning getting ready to go to airport Branns being right next door was also a bonus The ONE PROBLEM we had was the shuttle to the airport. Upon check in we told them we would need to take the shuttle at 4AM to the airport When we went to check out there was no shuttle driver available There were about 10 people in the lobby waiting for a shuttle The gal at the desk ended up having to call another hotel and get their shuttle to pick us up and take us to the airport-When they got to the hotel the shuttle was pretty full so not all of us could go on that trip to the airport The driver did return to Best Western to get the other people that needed to get to the airport but it would have been a BIG PLUS for the Best Western to have a driver there on time to take people to the airport Other than that it was a nice stay and will return hopefully with the shuttle situation being taken care of

My wife and I decided to stay here for our visit to Grand Rapids and this hotel was excellent. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. We got a reasonable rate here. Our room was big and spacious and clean. The property itself was very clean and well kept. The hotel is easily accessible from I-96 at Exit 43B. And there are a lot of stores and restaurants nearby for added convenience. We will definitely stay here again

I work at the Townsend hotel, which is regarded as the “best hotel in Michigan.” Boy were my friends and I in for a treat! Nykia, Karen, and Loretta were absolutely fantastic. They complimentary upgraded us to a great room, gave us all the amenities we needed, and shares many laughs with us. Their service surpasses 5 stars!

This hotel was amazing ! The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to please you. A couple bumps when we first got there but it all worked out. The pool was awesome and huge ! My kids loved it. The breakfast was awesome and was kept well stocked The rooms were super clean and the beds were so comfy! Great job. Keep.up the awesome work!

Traveling from out of state to attend my daughters college graduation. I booked my reservations with the competition two months ago and when I arrived, I was turned away because they had overbooked the hotel. Because of Tulip events and graduations in and around the city, every hotel was booked or was extremely over priced. I checked the Best Western Hotel across the street and I was greeted by a young lady named Shante' that recognized my frustration. She said sir we can accommodate you and your party, just relax and we'll get you to your room so that everyone can get some rest. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, and overall it was CLEAN. The location was convenient with a restaurant within walking distance as well as department stores within a mile of the facility. The high light of my experience was the excellent customer service from Shante' and the staff. I was skeptical by the hotel's appearance but was impressed with the renovations of the room and its cleanliness. I'm glad I was turned away from my previous choice because I wouldn't have found a better place than this one.

My daughter and I woke up at around 11 and felt something crawling on us. I turned on the light and there were bugs in our sheets. We were so tired that we took everything off and wiped down the sheets and went back to bed. Room also was not very clean.

My daughter's soccer team just visited this hotel this past weekend. Our room was clean, reasonably spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Our rate of $99 per night was reasonable. Blair was very welcoming at the front desk, tending to all our needs. Kudos to Mr. Kazior, the manager, for such a well run hotel and friendly staff.

Under construction and dirty. Would have changed hotels but everything in the area was sold out. $119 a night really means below average place. Should have known better. Rooms and beds seems clean enough and it was quiet.

The Best Bestwestern I have had the privilege of residing in. I spent 3 days in this heavenly place. The driver shook my hand & loaded my bag with a warn smile. Karen checked me in with a smile while telling me all about the hotel. Randy fixed every problem I had with professional flavor. Sunshine helped me navigate my 1st bus ride into the city and back. Greg and Ali filled the ride to and from the the airport with plesent and powerful conversation. The entire hotel was under construction and even the works were helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious, clean and organized. I'm moving into the city and my family will always use this hotel when they visit. They also give the guest a free gift Monday - Thursday night. Simply the Best.

this property is only good for a 1 night stay to fly in and out of...nothing more, nothing less! it is dirty and ill-cared for but Ali the shuttle driver is the best around!! they serve a nightly reception including food but all other amenities are below standard

We took our grandchildren to Grand Rapids for two days during their school break. We booked this hotel because it had a large pool and was close to Meijer Gardens. Our room was somewhat updated but still worn. There was a hole in the curtain, a cigarette burn on the tub, and the hair dryer was broken. The pool area was crammed with not very well supervised children and ran out of towels. The hot tub was crowded too. The room rate was very reasonable, but I think only folks who cannot afford a break anywhere else would like it. Bad choice on our part.

Proximity to the airport is great. Rooms are comfortable though there is no chair to sit in only the desk chair which has only one height - short. They do serve a breakfast each morning and I do offer a nice variety

I took a Michigan real estate class that was being given at the hotel, so I decided to stay for 5 nights. The complimentary breakfast was great featuring hot eggs, meat, breads and cereals. The free dinner was acceptable changing every night. From hotdogs to tacos to cold cut sandwiches. Hot coffee in the lobby anytime. All at no charge. I have a few issues, one day the room was not cleaned, the refrigerator in my first room would not shut off and froze everything and I notice a few sugar ants the last day. The staff were all friendly, gracious and helpful. Never got a chance to try the pool, but it looked nice. I saw some negative reviews, but look at the entire picture. This isn't a five star hotel, but you are not paying for one! With the meals alone you can't beat the value this place offers. I have a continuing education class coming up in the area soon and this is where I will be staying.

To many Loud noises after 11 not clean hallways breakfast food not good but the stay was overall okay I will choose a different beat western next time breakfast was cold when I got my food I will not be back

i had booked my room months ahead of time. when we got there we were told there were no rooms available. this took over 30 min just to check in. than my card was charged when told we could pay cash instead

Hotel was older. Hallways had large particles/debris all over the floors, but we didn't see any construction or remodeling going on in our section. Beverage machines were almost out of stock. Had to wander around hotel trying to find a beverage machine that still had a bottle of water in stock. Ended up only finding one machine that was working-right next to lobby. Room was clean. Breakfast was edible. Staff friendly. Not a 5 star, but acceptable for our needs.

My husband and I decided to try this motel instead of our usual one and stayed here the last weekend in December. We will not make the same mistake twice. Our “suite” lacked proper lighting making it difficult to read in bed and hard to use the microwave with none in the “kitchenette” area. The tv had very few channels especially with being in a large city. The heater did not work properly making the room temperature uncomfortable. The room was outdated and could use a thorough cleansing. To top it all off the local police were there for guest disturbances two out of the three nights we stayed. We will be going back to the Baymont right around the corner.

Room was good. I choose this hotel because of the great lower price and besides a free continental breakfast, it served a free dinner (Mon-Thurs). We do not eat pork or anything with pork in it. The menu consisted of Mac n Cheese with bacon and they also had hot dogs (again with pork). My suggestion would be to not put meat in the main entree and just have it at the side (or not at all). Other than that our stay was fine.

On a blistery cold snowy night, this hotel was perfect to stay and allowed our dog as well. It was just a 10.00 fee for bringing the dog. We will be back someday :) Other hotels close by wanted a 200.00 security deposit for bringing a dog and the weight for dogs was low like 45 pounds. We brought our golden retriever!

Next, there was the hotel shuttle driver of the year.....Enrique. this has to be the most patient and decent man on this planet. Appreciative to him for delivering safely to and from my locations. I had an extremely early check-in at the airport and couldn't have been happier with the staff at this hotel. They were all so caring and competent. I didn't have time for breakfast, but did grab a cup of coffee and a Kind bar to munch on at the airport. Dinner was certainly an unexpected surprise and was very good. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay before a flight.

I highly recommend this hotel. It was a great value and had great perks. Free bottled water, breakfast buffet and a simple dinner buffet. Very clean room and extremely comfortable bed (on the firm side, but not too firm - I found it to be perfect for me!). The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. And - a fantastic value!

I would not stay at any other hotel since I have stayed at Bestwestern, always clean and comfortable. thankyou so much for all you do at bestwestern to make people feel comfortable and appreciated. My husband had to have foot surgery the next day after our stay with you and we were given a discount off our bill because of having a medical procedure at a local hospital, to me this was a Blessing

I had a great stay. Breakfast and dinner most nights. The rooms can vary from one to another but the staff is very accommodating if there are changes possible. The meals are good and provide a nice change from other hotels. The location was great with it being close to expressways, shopping, restaurants, etc.

the hotel is clean and has a great breakfast and is close to stores and dinning, workers are nice . I donot know what to say but it says I need to say moor to post this so this is what you get HA. HA HA HA AHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The room was dirty, and the bathroom sink did not drain. There were bugs in the room, the television had only a few channels, and the remote did not work. The pillows were smelly! Even though this room was a very affordable price, we will never stay here again! (In all fairness, breakfast was fine.)

Super helpful, friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. Had to catch a flight before breakfast was available, so they gave me a breakfast bag to go! Also provide shuttle service to the airport, the driver was professional and courteous.

Stay was very relaxing. Issue with getting in the pool the second day. There could be better lighting over the area that housed the microwave and fridge but overall no complaints. Check in and out went very smooth.

This was the worst experience I have had with a hotel. After issues with checking in and doing the "park and fly" my husband and I leave for our vacation. The day of our return, my husband calls to set up the time for the shuttle to pick us up from the airport. The employee told us they would be there at midnight, all is set up. We arrive in GR at midnight, and there is no shuttle. My husband calls and the employee states, "oh yeah..our shuttle driver already left." He gives no alternative way for us to get back to the hotel and states, "guess you have to get a taxi or something." My husband asks to speak to the manager and he said he was the night manager. He states that the employee from earlier in the day didn't "pass along the info" that we were coming and needed the shuttle. WHAT?! That is what we already paid for your service to have!! He offered no solution and just told us too bad. We ended up begging for a ride from the Comfort Suites shuttle who nicely took us to the crap hotel, Best Western, that was across the street. What a horrible way to run a business. We will never stay there again.

The check in was very easy and the clerk was very friendly. The room looked great, was clean, and everything worked well in it. The lobby and breakfast area were very nice and updated. There are a lot of restaurants and stores around, and it's close enough to the airport. However, the windows were old and needed replacing (could feel cold drafts); the doors "worked," but were in very poor shape; the exterior of the building looked dated and had other cosmetic issues; and the pool area was less than desirable (water was clean though).

Spent the weekend in GR and find this BW hotel to be a convenient location and close to nearly any areas of interest you may desire. Close to the airport and the interstate. Although the hotel was completely booked, we were able to find a place to sit and enjoy a good breakfast.

I got lost inside this hotel. Twice. I wandered around like a character in The Shining exploring the empty hallways of the Overlook Hotel, hoping I wouldn't run into Jack Nicholson with an ax or a man in a bear costume. I thought it kinda weird that there were laminated maps of the hotel on the counter at check-in. Once I received my room assignment the clerk kinda showed me where my room was on the map and off I went. And I walked...and backtracked...tried another hallway, nope, this isn't right... Okay, so this one's on me. I can navigate cross country without a map but I cannot reliably find my room in a Best Western. I must be getting old. This is a really nice hotel in a good part of town (I always check this before I book a hotel after my disastrous experience in Albuquerque). Good location, well lit, and clean. Lots of parking but you cannot circle the building so if you are pulling a trailer plan ahead. Nice place, good rate, and a really impressive room. The toilet isn't level in Room 148 so if that sort of thing bothers you heads up. Breakfast (on the second floor) was typical: some sort of pseudo egg-colored creation, big ole sausages, waffles, cereals, bakery items, etc. Weak coffee. Would I stay at Best Western Hospitality Hotel & Suites again? Yes. If I have to travel to the Grand Rapids area again I would stay at this hotel. I would ask for a copy of those maps, tho.

Was in the Grand Rapids area for surgery and stayed at this hotel. the bed was excellent, the room was extremely clean and staff was friendly. Would recommend staying here. Also lots of stores and restaurants in the immediate area.

Very comfortable and clean hotel. You can't do better, and a very reasonable price as well. The breakfast was great, and a large variety of items to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful, and also the personnel who clean the rooms were very friendly which is something you don't normally see in most hotel/motels.

We were in town to visit relatives. The hotel was conveniently located for us and accepted pets which we really appreciate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility is showing its age but we would likely stay here again as the rooms were clean. There was also a good selection of restaurants near the hotel.

Older hotel that is showing its age. I had "black chunks" in the bathroom sink water when first turned on - gross! There was an external hotel entry door just outside my room window where people stood at about 1:00 am while they talked and smoked. Smoke came in my room and the noise woke me up. Breakfast was typical free hotel food. Not bad, not good, just ok.

I was working out of town and needed a clean comfortable room and a place to eat nearby. The booking was through Booking.com and a room with a walk in shower was the same rate as a normal room. Since this was a room built for wheelchair accessible needs, it actually was much nicer, since the doorway was wider and all things were spaced for wheelchair width. Four years ago I had two total hip replacement surgeries done and now I'm suffering lower back issues. The higher height toilet, with grab bars worked wonderfully. Having the steak house next door was an added bonus, since I just walked there for a late dinner.

Have stayed in past. Comfortable and affordable. Would return.. Hot tub needs to be cleaned. Locked door to outside needs to be repaired.Good breakfast. No coffee in check out area when we left. Friendly staff.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with nice amenities. There is a pool to enjoy. The lobby is spacious and comfortable with great staff. The free breakfast that they have is wonderful. If in Grand Rapids, I most certainly will stay there again

There were a couple days that the weather was bad and we had meetings in our rooms but the TV channels sucked . No USA, no TBS, no TRV Channel . The food was good at breakfast but there was never enough yogurt to go around !!

Love staying at Best Westerns as they are a great value, have awesome breakfasts, friendly service, and you can always count on the same quality hotel no matter what state you stay in. Weirdly I came across this one and the quality was not up to there usual excellence. Lucky I was only there one night. Now I have booked hotels by freeways before and had no problem. This one however was so loud it sounded like the window was open (it was not). The traffic noise was so unbearable I put ear buds in, but that didn't help I still could hear it. Also, other problems.. someone was smoking ( I think pot) in a no smoking hallway/rooms and the smell was making me nauseous. Also my toilet was running extremely loud as the seal was not sealing in the tank so water just kept going. It was so loud I just shut the water off while I was in the room. The place just looked run down. I will never rebook because of my sleepless night. I will say excellent service and breakfast as always though.

This was such a disappoint. Are room stunk plus we found three huge stink bugs crawling along the walls. Wouldn't recommend. Employees were very nice that was a plus. Just sad that we came all this way to not have a clean room.

Nice update....but still leaves a little to be desired. Met our needs. Good deal on the internet for last minute stay. Smoking noted in hotel that advertises 100% smokefree. Centipede found living in bathroom by tub. Staff could do a better job. Draperies not hung correctly. Our room had to different heights of mattresses. One too tall and one too hard. Tile work not completed in corners (behind doors). Ice machines not easily available. Otherwise, pretty clean and quiet for our short stay.

Tried a different hotel for a change, as I spend a lot of nights in the Grand Rapids area. Was very impressed. Very reasonable price and great room. Even was offered a lite dinner free of charge. It's also in an area where you can practically have any type restaurant or store. The young lady at check-in was very hospitable, the same goes for checkout. A very nice place to stay

Excellent location and very nice hotel. Rooms were clean and updated and quite large. Breakfast was good and a nice perk. Rooms rates were priced reasonably. I would definitely stay again. I ubered to Downtown area for Art Prize which is way better than staying downtown. Downtown was outrageously priced plus you have to pay for parking.

Was driving thru Grand Rapids and decided at midnight to stop and rest. Saw Best Western and knowing their reputation, decided to stay the night and start out fresh in the morning. Thanks for the good night.

Good Parts: Fresh, hot food on the breakfast Buffett attended by helpful staff More food in the evening including hot dogs, and other hot sandwiches. Coffee and hot water was also available. Comfortable beds. Convenient from the highway. Bad Parts: No chair or couch besides the desk chair. No shower curtain liner. Curtain was a wrinkled mess requiring constant adjusting or you stepped out of the shower into puddles of water. We got fresh towels and a made bed, but the toilet rim was untouched.

Me and my friend stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It was for my birthday weekend anx we wanted to explore beer city! The people here are very nice an polite. The breakfast buffet and eating area was very good. The pool and hot tub were okay. Our problem was with the rooms. We booked a king suite and our 1st room had box elder bugs inside everywhere! I understand its that time of the year so no biggie we told them a nd they gave a us a different room. Well the room was right next door and was even worse. We were not trying to make a big deal about it and keep it quite not to frighten other guests. So the manager i am assuming said she found another room and personally looked for us and it was clean. Which yes the room was free of bugs but smelled TERRIBLE!!! We searched and searched for the smell and couldnt find anything dead but the room obviously was not vacuumed or swept. We are guessing either milk was spilled or someone vomited. The employees were nice so we didn't say anything but i will definitely never go back! Oh and the windows dont lock and have no screens so that was scary too.

The staff was great! The room was decent a size. The pool was huge and seemed well cared for! We had a few issues in our room (tv had static on most channels, desk chair was broken, bathroom door wouldn't close properly) but everything else was ok. Good shower pressure and room stayed cool! The free breakfast was better than most and very clean! Check in and out was a breeze!

Stayed here for our visit to Art Prize 9. This property was about $50 less than other available rooms. Room was a good size, comfortable beds, and has a nice sized refrigerator and microwave. Also microwave is pretty powerful...30 seconds made for a very hot cup of coffee. Only quibble was the bathroom which is on the small side and doesn't have much counter space...just a bit surrounding the sink and then a ledge behind the toilet. If you have your clothes and toiletries in there it is a bit tricky...had my bag w/makeup fall off the ledge and broke a compact. Place is a little beat up...toilets and hall carpet stood out most, but kept clean...saw people cleaning regularly. When we were booking there were some reviews complaining about breakfast. We thought it was fine...mostly carbs, good amount of choices though. Had two hot trays (eggs & sausage), oatmeal, waffle makers, juice, coffee, milk, cereal, yogurt, fruit cups, bagels, bread, pastries, and various spreads and condiments. Breakfast is on the second floor. The sign for the hotel was easy to miss because it isn't very tall and is blocked by trees. There was a little hassle with trying to turn left out of the property on to 28 due to busy traffic so just had to turn right and then double back. Large Meijer just across the road and quick access to the airport and downtown Grand Rapids.

In GR for a concert and decided to give this place a try. Glad we did. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was nice, clean and a comfy bed. Nice breakfast area with both hot and cold selections. Entire staff was friendly from check in to check out.

Our flight out was cancelled so we found ourselves stranded! Calling Best Western they provided a room for the three of us; shuttle to pick up and the next day kept our luggage, shuttled us to and from the Mall so we could "kill some time" then back to the airport. The staff, and especially Megan the General Manager was wonderful!

Booked room for early morning flight out of GRR. Arrived around 6:00pm. Requested a quiet area. We were placed exactly where we wanted. 215 no one around. Halls very dated and a tad shabby. Room very clean.... maybe too clean. Strong chlorine smell hit us when we walked in. Room felt damp despite AC being on. It was very warm and muggy outside. Closed bathroom door which seemed to help with smell. Fridge and microwave a welcome addition so we could put our breakfast in there. We needed to leave by 5:30am so wouldn't make free breakfast. Bed was large king. Very comfortable with lots of pillows. AC rather loud and clunky and humidity never really left but it was tolerable. TV reception was grainy on some of the stations but again tolerable. Overall the room was fine for the purpose and time there and a better price than most other hotels on 28th St. Would stay again if needed. For an extended stay I might look elsewhere.

From the welcoming greeting to the express checkout, the staff at this property demonstrates how aptly named it is: Hospitality Hotel ! On an extended motorcycle trip, we had not intended on staying in Grand Rapids but the unexpected need for a rear tire necessitated a 225 mile retracing of our route and a two night stay. We were able to take advantage of this hotel's last minute booking rate on the Best Western site and were happy to save a few bucks. When we arrived later in the afternoon, we were warmly greeted, my Best Western Rewards status was generously recognized , our room was upgraded and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that, in addition to the customary breakfast, this property also offered a modest evening meal....free! Can't beat that ! The convenient location of the property meant that after a quiet and restful night's sleep we were able to travel the short distance to Holland, MI and enjoy the attractions there. All-in-all, after what had started out as a nerve-wracking ordeal with the motorcycle became a pleasant experience due to the quality of the personnel and hospitable offerings of this Best Western. It truly is a "Hospitality Hotel".

I was on a overnight trip visiting family and was told this was the best hotel in this area of Grand Rapids. I agree. This was just an awesome hotel, great staff, clean & modern rooms. Great breakfast. Will be back!

Had a great stay at this Best Western in Grand Rapids. We were able to check in quickly and there was plenty of parking. The bed was really comfortable and we appreciated that the breakfast ran from 6 to 10am so we were able to grab a late breakfast. The breakfast had a lot of options and we were able to get a late checkout. Everything here made it a comfortable stay and easy to get some rest while traveling. Super convenient and near some restaurants and a 24 hour Walmart if you need anything late.

We loved our stay hear while visiting Grand Rapids. The day time staff were very helpful and accommodating. The Complementary breakfast presentation and offerings were by far the best we experienced during our trip. The rooms were clean and conveniently located near exits with the building. We also loved visiting Branns steakhouse which was conveniently located just next door. This hotel was also located near shopping and dining. I would definitely suggest staying here if you are visiting Grand Rapids.

My uncle got us a room at this hotel. It was a gift, paid for so that we wouldn't have to worry about it and could have a good time on our honeymoon. However, when we checked in the rude guy at the desk told us that they would have to charge us an extra $100 deposit on our credit card for the room. I asked, wasn't the room already paid for? He confirmed this, and I said, wasn't that done with a credit card? I know my uncle didn't come up from Denver and pay cash for it, or he would have just come to our wedding. He had no answers. We had no choice, we couldn't switch hotels, because they had already charged my uncle for this scam. So we were forced to let them charge an extra $100 to our card, our vacation money, to await the return of our stolen money when they get around to it. If I could have, I would have walked out the doors and found a less shady sounding hotel then so I wouldn't have that looming over our whole honeymoon. Nothing can make up for that stress on what was supposed to be the best weekend of our lives. Thanks so much.

Nothing fancy. Bed was comfortable. Tub faucet leaked and the bathroom vent looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The rest of the room was fine. The breakfast wasn't the greatest. We went towards the end of the hours. The food and silverware did not get restocked.

it was terrible , we asked for 1st floor because my husband has a hard time walking and stairs are really hard for him.We got 2nd floor and not even close to the elevator. Breakfast was a joke 20 mins after they started serving there was not much left and no coffee not good . The bath tub looked like someone went swimming and showered and all the sand was still in the bottom of the tub GROSS

We loved staying at this Hotel. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. The Pool with hot tub was a great way to relax after a long day. To top off our stay we had the best breakfast at any hotel we have stayed in. The atmosphere was awesome and the menu choices were second to none. The attendant in the breakfast lounge kept the food hot and coming not like some hotels that put things out and after a few guests its pretty much gone. If you are looking to relax and have a great place to recharge your batteries away from home this is the place to be. Not to be forgotten is the price for the hotel was actually quite a bit lower than many hotels in the area with much more to offer.

hotel overall was good for the price. but breakfast on the weekend we were there was very dissapointing. we got there a half hour before ending hours and the girl would not restock the eggs, meat, oatmeal and o.j.we could not believe it. she said it was almost closing time..if that gets improved i would give 4-5 stars. but only 2. the night reception was very good from 5-7pm. she stocked right up till 7pm rooms good, pool big. quiet hotel. housekeeping polite. just the breakfast lady was the downer.

We decided to spend a few days in the GR area as opposed to a quick round trip visit in one day to spend more time with my Mother-in-law. Another way to earn points. We enjoyed a good meal next door and a good breakfast the next morning. No hassles and close to the freeway.

Not the best, not the worst. Only stayed one night so did not get to use the pool, gym, etc. Breakfast was very satisfactory. Nice setup. Halls were clean. Noise was almost nonexistent even though we faced a very busy road. Quiet during the night.

We found this gem through Trip Advisor where there were some very good reviews and decided to give it a shot. We weren't disappointed, we were pleased. We had a full two room suite with 2 bathrooms at a price far less than every other room we stayed at during our week traveling through Michigan. The location was not ideal for what we were doing in the area but it worked out fine.

We made this last minute reservation here based on reviews from here and it proved to be well worth the few minutes we took reading reviews. Couldn't believe the price and had I not read the reviews I would have went right past it. Our room is a king suite and we have a sitting room. Two bathrooms, and a bedroom. Unbelievable for $75. It is clean newly redone on the inside. The outside isn't any link to the inside. The staff was super upon check in.

I was very impressed with this hotel. It met and exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, the bed was fantastic, the pool area was phenomenal, the breakfast was great, and the staff was very nice and helpful. Overall, I was very satisfied and will definitely stay here again. Way to go Best Western.....!!

I don't have much to say other than overall, the hotel did not meet Best Westerns normal quality. The internet was too slow and was nearly unusable. I could get my email but not much more than that. I could not use FACETIME on my iPad, or normal chat communications.

Stayed here in July, 2016 and it was acceptable, so I booked again for summer, 2017. Cleanliness of public areas as well as guest room needs attention. My tub walls were gross and shower didn't drain so always standing in dirty water. Problem with noisy kids in hallway starting at 730am until midnight.

we stayed on second floor. far hallway from elevator. noticed worn casino-like carpet with debris, so i expected an "oh-no" when i opened my room. it was a double, very clean , pleasant, fresh smelling room with great a/c that did not make noise. we were on the courtyard side, no road noise. the free breakfast was adequate, although the coffee sucked. the staff helped us with a small issue with smiles.

This property is dated and needs updating. The rooms were ok but one of the three rooms we had smelled terrible. We called the front desk and all they did was send someone up with air freshener spray. By the end of the three nights we figured out it was the sink that the smell was coming from. Housekeeping did a good job but the hallways and stairwells weren't cleaned daily. Some of the same candy wrappers were there the entire time of our stay. Breakfast was fine. Typical complimentary breakfast but they did a good job keeping things stocked even when they were busy. All hotels in Grand Rapids on this weekend were very expensive. I normally wouldn't spend $150/night for this type of property but didn't have a choice.

Difficult access to 28th street west bound. Not updated. Smells. No air in workout room. Few TV channels. Shower dripped. Price was way to high for what you got. Don't stay here unless you want to waste your money.

Excellent stay! The staff at BW Grand Rapids were very friendly. The rooms were great, very clean, and up to date. It's located RIGHT off of 94, and just minutes from the airport. Nearby are many dining options, coffee shops, and stores. They offer free WiFi and their complimentary breakfast is spot on. Best Western never disappoints anywhere in the country, especially here in beautiful Grand Rapids, MI.

My son and his wife needed a 2 day "getaway" from 3 little boys. Grand Rapids and Holland were right up their alley! Grandma and grandpa had fun at home and mom and dad really enjoyed their stay at BW, Grand Rapids! Thanks for everything. We can always count on Best Western to deliver.

We were just doing a quick overnight on our way to the U.P. Had a good experience. Room up to date, clean, and we'll maintained. Took a dip in the hot tub. Again, nice well maintained. Several groups with kids using the pool. They seemed to be enjoying themselves. The game changer was the breakfast. Probably the best, most comprehensive free breakfast ever. They had hot items such as cheese omletts, sausage, bacon, and oatmeal. There were two waffle makes. Plenty of toppings for oatmeal or waffles such as nuts, coconut, whipped cream, and sprinkles. There was a complete bread/pastry/cereal/ yogurt section. Many beverage choices. There was separate staff maintaining this area. Would definitely stay again.

Everyone was very nice and helpful at the front desk. I didn't have much contact with anyone other than that due to being at work most of the time. I was satisfied with the room and all amenities. The location of the hotel was very good. Very close to restaurants, shopping, book stores, not to far from downtown Grand Rapids. They let me know that the restaurant next to the, Brams, gave a 15% discount if I showed them my room key.

The Good : The façade of the hotel is nice, the entry is clean and modern. The foyer / lobby was inviting and clean. When we arrived there were a few travelers ahead of us, but we didn't have to wait very long to check in. The check in was seamless and quick, and we were soon on our way to our room. The hotel hallways and common areas were clean and well maintained. It appeared to have some modern upgrades and looked very appealing. I enjoyed the continental breakfast area, and the breakfast was yum! The pool area was inviting, and we enjoyed the hot tub a couple of times. We were on the upper floor and in room 232. The ceilings were amazing. I think the very tall ceilings gave the room a regal feel, and the beams across were a nice accent feature. The bathroom looked like it had some modern upgrades as well. The room felt very big and roomy. The Bad : The room. Oh my goodness. The room had a very unpleasant smell. At times overwhelmingly so. It was almost like a sour perfumy smell. Upon investigation I found several (and by several I mean over 12) fragrance sticks shoved into the air conditioner. The fragrance sticks were part of the smell, but there was still a sour underlying smell. I removed the fragrance sticks, then my daughter and I headed across the street to the local Meijer to buy some fragrance room spray as well as a room deodorizer. We also bought sanitizing wipes as I was uncertain about the cleanliness of the room. When we returned we proceeded to wipe down every surface with the wipes as well as sprayed the room down and put out the room deodorizer. We left for dinner and when we returned the smell was less, but still obviously present. There were a few stains on the carpeting, almost like burn marks, but other than that it appeared to be clean, unless you looked under the bed, where there were food particles (old candy, M&Ms), crumbs, and even a dirty sock (I'm guessing from the previous occupants?). The tile entry way was super nice. The bathroom also had a very bad (but different from the room) odor. ESPECIALLY if you left the toilet seat open. The flange around the shower head had fallen off the wall and was dangling around the shower head. The sink was super slow to drain and appeared clogged. There was some broken and cracked caulking around the tub / shower. The window. There was an obvious gap in the window and even when the window was closed I was able to stick a few fingers through a hole in the bottom of the window from the inside to the outside. That was pretty disturbing. You may really want to check that out. We stuffed some paper into the hole and I was ok with that during our stay, but yeah. It probably should not have a gap. The beds were not very comfortable, a little too firm for my taste. But the pillows were nice and we were able to get a good night's rest, except for when there were kids running up and down the hall at 12AM. <--- I know the hotel cannot really be held accountable for the rude actions of others, but it was disturbing. The pool was nice. Again, the few times we visited, there were loud unattended teenagers, but that can't really be blamed on the hotel. More blame should be placed on the irresponsible parents not monitoring the children. We mainly used only the hot tub and although it was nice, the water did seem dirty and there was a definite “ring” around the tub. It did gross me out a bit. Overall : We did enjoy our stay. We were in town for the Color Run downtown and the hotel met our objectives. I was able to obtain a deeply discounted rate (Last minute deal) by monitoring the site daily. Had I paid full price or more than the last minute deal I would have been severely disappointed. For the rate we paid I was satisfied with the conditions. The location is prime. We also attended the Color Run last year (2016) and stayed at a different hotel just down the street. We were also disappointed in the rooms / conditions offered there and this year booked at your hotel. Next year, I am doubting we would book again at the Best Western due to the above concerns.

Other than google sending me the wrong way off the interstate this was a very good hotel for the price. They offer a military discount that is very good. Nice clean rooms and all around pleasurable experience. Google was at the hotel when I arrived and I hope they were fixing the problem. Breakfast was satisfactory but doesn't start till 7am and unfortunately my schedule didn't allow me to try it the first day and the attendant was adamant about not letting me get anything before that time. All in all a good hotel.

I had a check in nightmare. I was not going to post this, but I filled out the hotel survey and they sent me a stock reply. So, if they don't care enough to answer, I am going public. I arrived maybe 7-7:30. There was only ONE staff person working. Waited while three people checked in. Zoe. Pleasant, cheerful, probably wont last long. She gave me the room I reserved. Got to it. It was very hot. AC was blowing hot air. So I rolled myself all the way back to check in. Waited while four other people checked in. Zoe gave me another room. Rolled there. Opened the room and noticed it was funky. Too tired to complain. Then I saw clothes and someone in the bathroom. Oops. Rolled back to Zoe. Waited while she helped more people. So many people for one person to handle. Third room. Walked in. It was being worked on. Bathroom Door missing, hardware strewn about. But there was cold air, and no roommate. I stayed. Something piss poor about that room software. Checkout next morning. The desk clerk was upstairs gabbing with the breakfast person. I called up and said that my room had issues. She laughed. Did not offer to come down and give me a bill. I left. Frankly they should have given me a BIG discount. Or at least sent a real apology when I filled out the survey. Not staying there again. Too much exercise rolling my suitcase around.

We stayed in town to visit the zoo again this year on our way farther North. We typically stay over by the airport, but decided to try something new this year. To say we were disapointed was an understatement. $155 with tax for a room that wasn't cleaned was grossly overpriced. There was an open half bottle of wine in the fridge, dirty coffee cup in the trash and no clean linens for the pull out bed. I was able to share all this with the front desk checking out and again with BW in their post stay survey , really hoping they improve that part of their operation. On the plus side: great pool hours for travelers, breakfast buffet was good and the location is very good for dining out or shopping. External part of building was VERY well maintained, great flowers all over. This just made the problems with the room all that more confusing, you would think one area that well maintained would indicate a well run, clean property. Bottom line- won't be staying there again. I would recommend anyone traveling through to look at the Holiday Inn or Wyndham over by the airport. $20 more expensive, but miles ahead for a better experience.

The hotel was clean & the employees were very nice & helpful!!! Breakfast was good. The pool and whirlpool were clean. The hotel is also located near restaurants & shopping. A very nice experience. Will use this hotel again!

The room was clean and spacious, although a bit dated. The mattress was comfortable, but had food debris and stains under the mattress pad. The air conditioner was immediately adjacent to the bed and blew directly on the bed. There were outside balconies with no way to access them since there were no doors. They were covered in bird droppings. The outside door would not open with the room key, and we had to move to a farther door in order to get inside from the parking lot. The suite had two bathrooms, a refrigerator, and microwave. There was plenty of space. The breakfast had a good selection of hot food including waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage. They also had assorted cereal and oatmeal choices, as well as bagels and fruit. The eating area was small, but the staff kept the tables clean and the food stocked. All and all a good value. We also often stay at the Hampton Inn, and this had similar amenities for a less expensive price.

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in on this trip. The hotel is clean and modern and quiet. The beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was a good variety of hot and cold items, including strawberry waffles. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I was even offered laundry soap at no charge when I inquired where the location of the guest laundry was located. Not many hotels do that. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area for business or leisure.

Stayed here with my family of four (sons aged 3 and 1). Very nice place and will definitely be staying here again over the next few years as I now have a daughter attending GVSU. The lady at the front desk was very nice when we arrived and recommended upgrading my room from a two queen to a king suite (for a charge of course) when she saw my family to offer more room. Very happy for the suggestion and glad we took her advice. I apologize that I forgot her name, but we were there on June 25th so the company can give the nice lady a pat on the back even though I forgot her name. We used the pool and were glad it was open to kids until 10pm. Breakfast was stellar and the banana maple nut waffle mix is definitely the reason for the fifth star... OUTSTANDING!!! See you again in the months to come...

We stayed at the Grand Rapids Best Western for one night on our way to northern Michigan. This is a large hotel located in a busy area by the interstate. There is nothing particularly noteworthy about it, but it is an adequate place to stay. The hotel is quite large, and it can take a long time to get from front desk to your room. If you have limited mobility, this might not be the best choice. There is a courtyard with chairs and tables and a basketball court. We didn't swim, but the indoor pool also looked large. Breakfast was fine. We were the only ones eating, so it was blessedly quiet. The rooms have been redone fairly recently, while the public areas are a little dated. This is not a memorable or exciting place to stay, but it is perfectly fine for a quick business trip or for anyone passing through the area. The service was pleasant, and everything was acceptable.

This hotel is older but has been updated and is very well maintained. The hotel staff was friendly and went out of their way to help us. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The person who was working the complimentary breakfast did an outstanding job keeping the food stocked and tables cleaned (it was very busy the morning stayed there). We will stay here again the next time we are in town.

The staff was helpful, friendly, and courteous. The manager was exceptionally helpful. The room was clean and ready for us when we got there. The pool and hot tub areas were clean. I would recommend staying at this Best Western when visiting the Grand Rapids area.

WE had a group here for a sports camp while using the facilities of the nearby fieldhouse. Our four-night stay (5 rooms for the group) was great. Meagan in the saled department was great to deal with in advance of the stay and Nader the general manager was eager to help make our stay comfortable, including a late checkout on the final day so that the guys could come back from the camp and shower before heading to the airport. The evening dinner which was served was great and Zoe at the front desk was really great about keeping it going a few extra minutes to accommodate our schedule. The rooms were really comfortable, the location was great (10 minute walk to the field house, Meijer supermarket across the street and Walmart Supercenter a short walk away).

Clean , quiet motel In a good location. Minor issues with air unit in room. Comfortable room and good value. The hotel was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Could be a bit more generous with the complimentary shampoos etc. Overall a good hotel for the price.

The hotel room smelled like something died in there. We told the front desk and all they had to say was sorry! They said they would give us a % off the rate...but didn't end up doing it because he didn't know how.

Do not stay at this hotel, their customer service is terrible. Tried to check in early (1pm) Kid at the front desk would not even look to see if they had a room available for early check in, just saying we could not get a room until 3pm. When I asked for a manger he said she was out. When we came back we asked to speak to the manager again but again the manager was out.

Booked thru Hotwire but ran into a problem with the reservation. The front desk helped us thru it and got us an even better deal. Excellent customer service. Breakfast included. Nice, clean comfy room. Terrific value.

Hotel was great, clean, and professional staff. The outside don't look so neat but inside everything is up to date and clean. Beds are comfortable, big screen t.v, and nice view of their outside patio with furniture. Pool and hot tub was clean. Only thing I did not like is they hold a 100.00 dollar deposit. If you chose to put it on a credit card it could take weeks to get it back, but if you use cash they will refund after checkout. The breakfast was great! A lot of options for you.

I am a travel agent and I will not recommend anyone one to this hotel nor will I come back to this hotel. My room was not cleaned the whole weekend I was there. The cleaning staff was watching tv in the lobby and I room was nasty. I was not requesting a refund for the whole weekend just for that day. I will pass the word not to come to this hotel. Dirty rooms. Non helpful staff. Terrible breakfast. Outdated rooms with terrible mattresses. Treated Bad by the staff at checkin and during our stay. Group was not put together after several attempts weeks and days before arrival.

Comfortable bed, convenient room amenities, nice pool, easy access and nice buffet for dinner and breakfast. Very close to freeway, but still quiet. Best Westerns are make huge strides in improving their locations lately. Would stay again.

I have been using this hotel before it was a Best Western, I have seen this hotel upgrade it's facility both in the rooms, halls and grounds. They do provide quest with little extras like cookies, pizza, hot dogs in the early evenings. Breakfast is always on time and fresh

Very nice - clean room. Stayed for 5 days and it was a good place. Great to have refrigerator and microwave in room. Breakfast pretty good - didn't have dinner. The room was clean - did not have issues with any smoke, like in some of the other reviews. Great location, right off the freeway!

After a long day of work (traveling) you expect to be able to relax and watch tv and be able to access the internet. They only have 10 crappy channels and the internet cuts out every 5 minutes. Then I couldn't even get back on the internet at all.

We spent a night in Grand Rapids recently and checked in at Best Western. Perhaps because it was a weekday stay the room price was reasonable. We enjoyed our stay and the free breakfast the next morning. Over all it was a good experience.

Heat source blew right in to my face of the room that we ended up in after having to be given a different room than the stale smoked in first room. Staff was pleasant and efficient in accommodating the change. It was frustrating considering the very late time that we arrived after driving all evening and in to the late night. Room was sufficient for just sleeping but shower was not completely clean. Bathroom was small. Overall it was fine to sleep for the few hours that we did but the cost was high considering the small bathroom, older building, etc.

Hotel smells, dinners are disgusting general manager is a mean human being. Place is trying to scam people out of money. Would never stay again in a million years! Worst hotel experience of my life. Learned my lesson by trusting a best western

We stayed in a King Size Suite, plenty of room for my family of four. We even had 2 bathrooms. I was impressed that we also received complimentary breakfast (everyday) and dinner (Mon - Thur). Nice pool and hot tub. Overall very clean hotel, we would go back if in the area again.

I was initially housed in a room near the entrance, which smelled of smoke that had been masked by Febreze. It was sickening and loud, so she moved me to a cleaner room off a rear hallway behind the pool. It was great other than the fight between a man and woman in the hallway at 5 am. That was addressed by the night clerk who shewed them back into their room, after I was wide awake.

This one of several hotels that we stay in on the 15 day trip. It was great to call into the call center and tell the operator where we were and then they would find us a hotel at one the next exits. We would not have to wait once we were at the hotel because we were already check in. All the Best Western hotels have been clean and beds are great to stay in.All the employee's are nice to deal with at all times.

So the breakfast isn't all that bad. I've seen better from other hotels though. The largest problem I found was the lack of juice. The machine witch they use to pour juice has four slots, these containing water, cranberry juice, and two orange juices. I wish they had added another juice to it, such as apple juice. Besides that I found that the hotel has a lovely staff, and comfortable rooms.

We were only in town one night and couldn't take advantage of all the amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was convenient to airport and freeways. The price was reasonable. We didn't have any issues with our room. The property itself seemed to be undergoing some maintenance. The heat upstairs in the breakfast area seemed to have a mechanical problem because multiple guests were complaining and I'm sure the staff would have adjusted it if it was possible. It appeared that other repairs were in progress on the property and when it began raining heavily there were multiple leaks in the lobby and hallways.

The overall was ok, the rooms were ok, but towel bars were falling off the wall, lights were burnt out, and the showers plugged up and wouldn't drain well. There was a very odd smell of sewer in the entire building all the time too, it was terrible!

We stayed 2 nights at this Hotel in Grand Rapids. The staff was very friendly and the king room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is quite large in size. The room had a full sized bar refrigerator and microwave. We had asked to be on the first floor near a door as we are older and have difficulty with moving our suitcases. Unfortunately, our room was a little hike from the elevator on the second floor but still convenient with the use of a luggage cart. The breakfast was typical hotel food but it was fresh, hot and delicious. We would stay here again if we return to Grand Rapids. Also, it is about 6 miles from the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum and was very convenient for us to visit there.

I would highly recommend this hotel due to its ample and varied breakfast on the second floor balcony, the late hours of the pool area, the large room with comfie beds, and the friendly and helpful staff.

The staff was wonderful. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. I loved having 2 bathrooms in the room. I wish there was a little better selection for breakfast but overall it was good. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and a Meijer right across the street from the hotel. It's also conveniently located right off the high way. This will be our go to hotel whenever we visit Grand Rapids.

After being at the Ford airport more than 9 hours trying to get to Newark I was exhausted and hungry. The ladies at the hotel gave me at up grade on my room and made sure I had food. They got me a shuttle to the mall so I could replace my computer charger that had lost it plug in during the long time at the airport. They went out of their way to make sure I had an excellent evening and a good night sleep. Thanks to all of you.

Convenient location, very clean room and nice, friendly front desk staff. A basic and reasonably priced hotel approximately 10 minutes drive from the downtown hub. An added bonus was the fact the room had a balcony and a door/window that opened. There is a small swimming pool which we did not use, but others were using. The advertised gym/workout room is very basic and could do with an update. All in all a reasonable stay in a clean facility. Would return.

It was loud. The sleep was not good. The bed had 5 pillows on it but all of the pillows were too big so not comfortable for me to sleep. If you are going to have 5 pillows why not make a couple different thickness? The AC unit next to the bed was just too loud. The shower curtain was not long enough to stay put during a shower. There was water all over the floor - happily there were plenty of towels to sop up the mess. Worst of all, the exterior door to the rear of the hotel was not locked. It was supposed to be opened by keycard but the mechanism was inoperable and the door was just not locked. This was a security risk.

Great hotel for the price. Very nice employees, clean room and a helpful hot breakfast so you can hit the road quick without making an additional stop for food. Have dinner at the Steak House next door for sure! It's in the same parking lot. My son and I had big steaks with all the trimmings for under 30 bucks with the hotel coupon. Pool is excellent too.

Rooms very clean, staff pleasant and gave us a lot of good information on getting around town. Love that the busses were available to take us to downtown area for Art Prize. Great access to lots of shopping, restaurants. Would definitely recommend this motel to others.

Nice, friendly staff. Rooms are not fancy but a very good value for what you pay. I would stay here again. If you are traveling for business and just need a bed without breaking the bank this is a good choice.

We reserved this hotel thru the mystery section on Expedia. The value was fantastic and we ended up with a Jacuzzi room with a king-size bed! What a surprise! Loved the room, the service and the location of the hotel. We were traveling a bit throughout the weekend and being so close to the expressway was great.

This hotel is clean and the staff is courteous and obliging. We often stay here because the location is convenient and they allow pets. The breakfast is satisfactory. Great value for the price. Will stay at this hotel again. Would recommend this hotel in general and specifically to people traveling with pets.

Enjoyed staying here with a convenient location. Not there fault, but GPS places you on the wrong side of 4 lane road. Nice breakfast room with usual type food. Coffee was especially good and easy to get more in lobby anytime One OFI is to keep hallway carpet vacuumed

Many positive things to say about this place. King suite very reasonably priced, very spacious, with two full bathrooms and two large flat screen TVs. Very clean. Great helpful people at check in, even though I had messed up the reservation. Good location right off the freeway with shopping and dining options close by. My negative comments would be that is was kind of noisy and the room had a lot of light from outside, even in the middle of the night. Only sheer curtains so no way to block out the light. Also, and I am sure this would vary depending on the guests, but a lot of noise and conversation sounds from adjoining rooms, in our case, until 3:30 in the morning. I think rooms toward the back of the hotel might be quieter and darker but, since it was my mistake on the reservation, I wasn't about to argue with our room location. Older hotel but nicely renovated.

ok for the price I paid online, but still a bit pricey. Clean, nothing too special. Overall an ok experience. Breakfast was good. Front desk service was a good. Pool nothing to note, average. Rooms average.

So I have stayed at this hotel several times and usually, I am completely satisfied even if their is a problem, they are usually good about making it "right and satisfying" to me. However this experience was a nightmare!!! As I called to book my room at the "student" rate that I have so much enjoyed, I have come to find out that they "no longer have this rate for the rooms they have available" I guess they had changed this policy a week or 2 before I called. Ok No problem, I had a $50 BW credit that I hadn't used yet, so I decided I would use it tonight so my room would still be pretty inexpensive. I go to the counter and am working with no other than the Assistant Manager (Rose?) forgot her name, and showed her my $50 BW credit. However, she felt that it made sense or was in the best interest of the customer (ME) to charge me the full amount of the room, THEN add the credit. I thought this was completely unnecessary to essentially take out $50 more dollars from my checking account, lowering my available credit, to just put it in days later when I needed that money for the weekend. Hence, using the BW credit for a better room rate. I was completely unhappy, angry, and irritated that this transaction was done in this manner. I could have used that extra $50 for my weekend that I had with the wife as we don't get to get away too often with trying to pay for a sitter for 5 kids over night. She also wasn't too sympatric in my opinion and just brushed it off like "Oh well." What an TERRIBLE EXPEREINCE. I am seriously debating whether or not to keep staying at the BW brand or any brand that is affiliated with the BW brand just based on this experience, not a bad experience but a TERRIBLE experience. Everything else was GREAT! We do enjoy the hotel very much, but the people are a major factor deciding if people will continue to stay or go else where. Still just thinking about it, I am mostly sad that we were down money that would have been spent on my wife.

Breakfast was better than average, staff friendly, convenient location, hotel grounds were attractive. The restaurants nearby gave a discount when presented with key card. Pool and fitness center were well maintained and nice. Staff at the front desk were knowledgeable and helpful. I was a bit put off by the fact that the exterior doors did not lock by themselves, but suspect that the guests who were cigarette smokers may have had a hand in that defect. Overall good experience and I would stay here again.

Decided to come here instead of staying at the Hotel the convention is held at due to the fact that a breakfast bar is included in my stay and there are microwaves and refrigerators in each room. Breakfast is really good here, there is fresh fruit, Scrambled eggs or Omelets (alternating days?), waffle maker, white and wheat bread, bagels, yogurt, juice, cereal, soy milk, oatmeal and a few more things. The room was nicer that the Crowne Plaza one I stayed in when I attended the convention last year. I will come here next year for sure.

stayed here for a few days attending a seminar and thought I took a time machine back to the 80's. The hotel is tired, needs lots of help inside and out. The odor in the conference room was terrible, not sure what that was all about.

I would've given a perfect score, but my charger for my phone was never found. I still believe it was left in the room, but housekeeping claimed they never saw it. Called a rep at the airport the day after I reported that it is missing at the hotel. Loved the shopping across the street. One bar I would not recommend is Gipper's.

Best stay with surprises - Good Surprises. We were tired after a day of bike riding. Got to the hotel and they had a free dinner in the lobby - simple but good. And a free breakfast. Offered us to join their rewards program. We must have looked really tired as they also offered us a free upgrade. Staff were bery busy but you did not feel like you were being rushed AT All. We will look for Best Western as a first choice in upcoming trips. Price was unbeatable.

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. One of the biggest perks of this locations was the ease of access to a lot of activities. The highway exit is nearby to get to the city easily. In addition, this hotel has a basketball court, pool, fitness area, nice breakfast buffet, and they offer discounts at local restaurants. The restaurant next to the hotel was delicious and had good quality service as well.

We spent many days at the Best Western this month, with friends and family and were impressed by the friendly and efficient front desk staff, spacious rooms and excellent free breakfast and weekday dinner.

Our stay at Best Western was very nice. The location was perfect for us! We have always enjoyed or stays at Best Western. I wish we did more traveling to give us a chance to stay at more Best Westerns.

When I phoned the front desk Sunday morning, 8/28/16, to report that I awoke to find two bed bugs in my bed in room 240, one of which was apparently killed during the night and the other which I consciously killed upon awakening, the desk clerk responded, “We take this very seriously.” She asked me what the bugs looked like. I told her they were small and dark and left bright red blood streaks on the bed sheets. The clerk asked me to come down to the front desk to discuss the matter. When my husband and I did so, the clerk offered no information as to what our next best steps should be to prevent our inadvertently carrying bedbugs out of the room or into our home. We asked her for some written information we could take with us. She said the hotel provided none. We asked her for a plastic bag to wrap our night clothes in. At first she said she didn't think it would help, but then she agreed to give us one. Later we returned to the front desk to ask for two larger plastic bags in which to seal our luggage before leaving the hotel room. The clerk said our room would be sealed off and inspected by the day manager when she arrived later that day. If she found presence of bed bugs, she would call Orkin to provide a heat treatment. If that treatment failed, she would have Orkin spray an insecticide. I asked for the general manager's business card so I could contact her the next day to follow up. When I spoke with the general manager on Monday, she said she would not have any answers for me regarding the room's infestation until the following day when an Orkin representative would inspect the room and make a report. On Tuesday, the general manager phoned me and informed me that Orkin had conducted an inspection and found no evidence of bedbugs in the room. I calmly told her several times that I found that very hard to believe as there was physical evidence which I had left clearly exposed on the bed sheets. She repeated that all she could tell me was what the Orkin inspector reported. With one final expression of disbelief, I told the general manager that I, at least, appreciated the phone call. After a few minutes' reflection, I again called the general manager who now spoke more tersely and less cordially. I asked her if I could see the Orkin report. She said that wouldn't be possible. I asked if I could speak with the inspector. She said she could try to reach the Orkin representative at the Jenison office and ask him to give me a call. I told her I would prefer to call him myself. She gave me a phone number which, when I repeatedly dialed it, rang without any response or even a prompt for voicemail. I looked up the phone number myself for the Jenison office but my call was routed to the state of Georgia instead where an Orkin supervisor told me it would not be possible for me to speak with the inspector or to see a copy of the report as I am not Orkin's client at the hotel location. The supervisor recommended that I deal with hotel management. When I told I had already tried that, she said there was nothing more she could do for me. I do not believe that Best Western takes very seriously its responsibility to help minimize the spread of bed bugs from its hotels to other locations--including other hotels, public spaces and guests' homes. I have waited two weeks to post my review. I wanted to see if I would view the problem differently over time, whether the hotel management would take steps to respond more helpfully and whether I would find evidence of bed bugs in my home. To date, none of the above has occurred (and I feel extremely fortunate regarding the third unknown).

I was really impressed by the hospitality of the employees of the Hotel. Really made me feel at home right away. The Room was clean and organized. Beside the damaged wall in the shower everything was up to date. Prefer to have the fitness room open earlier too. for the rest was really satisfied. Recommend this Hotel to everyone.

After checking in at front desk we proceeded to find our room. There was the most God awful stench in the hallway walking to our room. Went in our room and minutes later we started to smell the stench in our room. I immediately went to the front desk to change rooms and there was another customer also complaining for the bad smell. We changed rooms and the second room did not have as bad of odor but my daughter noticed that the floor tiles in front of the kitchenette was very slippery and wet. At the time we didn't think much of it. We left our room and went to her soccer game and then dinner. When we returned to our room at about 10:45pm where were dead cockroaches in the bathroom, closet and throughout the room on the carpet. There was no way I was staying in that hotel, I didn't care what time it was. I called another hotel nearby and then packed up our car and went to the front desk. The clerk was very apologetic but really didn't seem very surprised when I told her that where were dead cockroaches. She cancelled my reservation and I was not charged anything but what an ordeal from the start! I will never return to that BW! Also, there were some very sketchy looking people staying that the hotel! So getting back to the wet slippery floors in our room, I came to realize that it must of been buy spray that the hotel sprayed in that room prior to us moving into that room.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel, I have stayed at much more expensive places and didn't consider them as modern, clean, and welcoming as this one. When in Grand Rapids again I will definitely stay here again.

Room was clean and furnishings appeared quite new. Everything worked well. Staff friendly and helpful. Would have appreciated two very comfortable leisure chairs rather than the business desk type chairs. Grounds were very well take n care of. Good appearance from the outside.

Wonderful gal at check in - Becca was friendly, welcoming and quick. A surprise snack was served in the evening - enough for a small dinner. Pool looked lovely, but we did not use it. The courtyard behind the hotel has a lovely yard with great potential. Was once a nice hotel. Door to back hallway was propped open with rocks. Bathtub was filthy with several hairs and such grime I would not take a shower in it. Then all down hill. Room had black mold on ac vents - - large amounts. Ice bucket was dirty with brownish water in it. Faucet had zero cold water. Internet dropped every few minutes. Was offered another room - - it had even more mold on the ac unit. Gross! Kept same room. On the side of the bed facing upward was a 3 inch screw - - going into nothing but my foot as I got off of the bed.!! It is just there - - for no purpose - - and they did nothing about it! Yes our room was comped for the night - - but our health has suffered and they do/did nothing to fix the issues or to make up for them. Major health problems here - - at least in this wing of the hotel.

As the review title indicates, staff is always cleaning. Carpeted stairways, halls, lobby floor, etc. - someone always has a mop, broom or vacuum going. When I was checking out, a maintenance person had several in-room fridges outside and was washing them out with soap and a garden hose. Outdoor plantings are attractive with no weeds! Entrance drive has several large, flowering hanging plants in better shape than what I have at home.

Tons of bugs in the room, clogged shower drain, hallway carpet smelled bad and a mediocre breakfast. Stayed with my family there and had some sad events that almost ruined our family vacation. I would consider other hotels in the future.

TV not working at night and toilet in the morning. This prevented me from having a good quick in and out business hotel experience. Sad because this place has a great indoor pool and jacuzzi and a nice fitness area.

We spent Saturday night here, August 27th, and it was a busy weekend in town. The hotel was very clean and all staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. I think this hotel is in the process of renovating rooms and they are doing a nice job. Our room was very nice, clean and the beds were very comfortable. I liked the tile by the door. The bathroom was clean and everything worked as it should. I liked that the refrigerator was already cold when we got in the room. We did not get a chance to use the pool but the pool area looked nice. I used my AAA discount so it was reasonably priced. I would stay at this Best Western again.

We stayed the night after our reception and used their park and fly shuttle service to the airport. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient when scheduling these services, and helped us with late night take out options as well!

The hotel staff was extremely friendly. They are remolding and the new areas are very nice, the hallways are old and out dated and the carpet needs to be replaced. The breakfast was good but they could not keep up with the demand. Most of the food most of the time was empty. There was one person to restock the food and she did her best but they needed more help and more food. Rooms were nice and clean.

I chose this hotel, b/c they are pet friendly. $10 per pet per night no weight restrictions. Upon check in, the lady who greeted me was very nice and gave me a doggie treat bag!! What a nice touch! The only thing bad for the dogs is that the beds are super high. My little schnauzer injured his leg jumping down. He is okay now!! To walk the dogs, you have to go behind the Baymont and cross the street. The courtyard was cute with the basketball court. The room was very clean. The fitness center was kept too hot. Wifi is very weak. Breakfast was pretty good. cereal and eggs/sausage. Get this..they offer dinner Mon-Thurs. My boyfriend had the dinner last Monday. He said it was really good. lasagna and salad. That will save you money. Meijer is right across the street too.

So happy to have happened upon this conveniently located gem in Grand Rapids. Hop on I 96 for easy access to all of the fun downtown GR, including breweries, comedy club, concerts, museums. Great proximity to the airport, if you need, too.

I had a great experience at this hotel-- the breakfast was exceptional also had a light lunch during the evening. The beds were comfortable. The facility was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpfull.

We traveled down to Grand Rapids for some local attractions, and we were looking for a place to stay. Hot Wire offered an excellent deal on this hotel. The hotel was fantastic. Our king suite was comfortable for myself and two children, the pool is clear and huge, there is a complimentary dinner, and breakfast was great. It was a gem of a find for the deal we got through Hotwire.

Loved the way the bed was so comfortable and soft. The elevator smelled fabulous and the entire establishment seemed to radiate cleanliness and fresh accommodating vibe throughout. The fridge worked very well and had abundant towels and soaps. The heat lights in the bathroom were a nice touch as well. Very friendly staff!

We got a big room, and bed was comfortable. Easy access to services around. Good location. There was a mild displeasing odor, probably due to manifest problems with the toilet flushing. Fixable issue, so should not be a worry for other travellers.

Kelsey at the front desk was very helpful! When I went to check in at the hotel, I was told that i couldn't because I was not 21... Disappointing it was yes, however i was able to get a full refund. At that point Kelsey called local hotels that had a minimum check in age of 18. In which she found the Red Roof Inn. In addition, she had a shuttle take me over there and since Red Roof is a sister company to Best Western she even transferred the shuttle service from the Best Western I had scheduled to the Red Roof Inn to take me to the airport. I feel very fortunate for her help, as I was already exhausted from my trip! Kelsey was my hero for the day!

Nice room but beds too high. It was hard to get on and off. Bathroom needed serious updating. The grout was crumbling and everything in that bathroom was old. The room had a nice big refrigerator which was nice. The room was a bit damp and the air conditioner was loud but it was needed. The staff was nice and the breakfast was good. I'd stay again if the bathrooms were updated.

Pros: Excellent staff, clean, quiet, decent breakfast, discounts to local restaurants, decent internet speed, great shower, plenty of hot water. Cons: One bed broken (foundation), Office chair too low uncomfortable working height at desk (chest level for me and I am 5'10) TV screen quality poor and few channels to choose from and refrigerator froze my food.

We traveled in a group and everyone found something to love about the experience. The basketball court on the grounds was a hit with some of the kiddos; everyone enjoyed the heated indoor pool. A simple, lovely dinner in the evening (which you take back to your room vs. eating in the continental breakfast area) was a nice surprise. We took advantage of 15% off our meal at Brann's Steak House (adjacent) both days. This is offered to all hotel guests!

The hotel was great. It had a nice indoor pool and sauna. There are also jacuzzi rooms, which I took advantage of. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the staff was excellent. The hotel price was excellent and a great value for your money. Also, the steak restaurant next to the hotel is really good. The airport is only 8 minutes away, I will stay here again!

My husband and I were in Grand Rapids for a concert at the DeVos Performance Center. While it was a 15 minute drive to our destination, we chose this hotel because we have stayed here before and had great service. As expected, we were not disappointed. We highly recommend this hotel. Every staff member we encountered was very nice,

I would love to rate this hotel higher, the front desk staff was pleasant, the cleaning staff kind and attentive, the pool clean and fun; HOWEVER, every time I looked closer I saw serious signs of poor maintenance. Our door did not work and took multiple attempts to open, the bed frames had huge exposed screws sticking out, the rooms were poorly painted and the bathroom had paint splatters everywhere and an ill-fitting recently installed door with the store sticker still on it. Then the breakfast was under-stocked and the woman replenishing would have been surpassed by a snail, worse still, she flat out lied to customers. We were there for 2 nights and when she felt diners had had enough she stopped restocking and told everyone they were out, they weren't, she was just done making breakfast for the 100+ guests that arrived hungry. I pressed her about the waffle mix (which comes in a mix that takes 2 minutes to whip up, she told my daughter they were out of it and I pointed out that I could see the replacement mix in the kitchen. She shrugged, I might have time to bring it out (there was an hour left of breakfast!). 40 minutes later, she did bring out more. If she had not been dishonest and at least pretended to be concerned i would have rated this hotel higher, but her attitude honestly spoiled the whole experience. I know this sounds like "American privilege" but most everyone was polite to her, she just literally could not have cared less about performing her job and it was obvious.

The staff was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. The room was nice, The beds were great! 4 pillows each. The indoor pool was huge, nice hot tub and workout room. Free breakfast was excellent. They even had hot dogs and more available when we checked in near dinner time.

the room was big and clean...there was no street noise. They had a swimming pool and hot tub. The hotel staff was very friendly. also included was breakfast. The maid service was great by the time I got back to my room everything was done.

Service year was great. It was clean and the breakfast was terrific. I was here on business but have found that these hotels are consistent every time. I have made it a habit to be at these hotels often and would encourage everyone. The price is great.

Amazing, helpful staff. Nice, clean rooms. Breakfast here is a real treat. Quiet and peaceful here. I may even hit the hot tub tomorrow :) If I return to Grand Rapids this will be my first choice for lodging.

We got a steal for this hotel on hotwire. We got 2 queen beds, and the room was clean and spacious. Wasn't fancy, but fairly updated and clean. Bathroom was nothing to write home about but wasn't sketchy either. The pool was huge, clean and had plenty of towels. Large hot tub was a little cloudy. Here's the #1 reason to stay: free breakfast AND dinner served daily! Breakfast was huge, 2 hot entrees, waffles, cereal, bagels, etc. Those 2 ladies worked their butts off to keep everything restocked and clean. Then at night dinner was served in the lobby! Each night they had a different entree catered in, as well as hot dogs and salad. Just the fact that you could vacation and only eat out once a day-awesome! Apparently this owner has several hotels down 28th street and does this at them all. Sure, you can stay somewhere fancy for way more money. But this hidden gem will get my business next time we go to GR!

I had a series of meetings in Michigan and stayed at the Best Western Grand Rapids. Great value and comfortable suits, staff was great and went above and beyond for me and my group. We would all stay here again

The most quiet hotel I've stayed in. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice also. The location was very convenient: close to highways, yet in a nice area, close to stores and restaurants. This hotel was much nicer than a different one close by that we stayed in for one night.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful, but it's an old hotel. I had plumbing issues even after it was "fixed". It was not worth the price I paid either, though for a lower price I would stay there Free dinner and breakfast were good and the pool was nice with hottub. Fitness room hours did not meet my needs nor did it have what I really wanted.

Only problem was that the desk chair leaned too far back. Staff replaced it with a new chair in about 5 minutes! The room was very clean and bed quite comfortable. The only thing I saw that needs attention is the hallway carpet, but the hotel is very busy.

Everything was clean, but definitely no-frills. The ceilings on the first floor looked like they are less than 7 feet - so if you're tall, make sure you get a second floor room. The bathroom was clean, but sink didn't drain well, and the tub had a patchwork of tiles that had been ripped out and put back haphazardly.

booked on line , was very satisfied with experience. our flights where midnight in and four am out. so we needed sleep and comfort . we received both from best western. the staff where very accommodating and assisted us with our difficult schedule and time frame. The convenience to the airport was also helpful. Hotel was remodeled , but the service and comfort where exceptional

The Missus was pleased with the room (suite) and the breakfast. It was an overall good experience plus the location is convenient for our purposes when we visit GR. Staff had smiles on their faces and treated us professionally. Nice stay.

I have made several visits to this hotel for buisness so i decided to go with the family. Trip was great except for one issue that with a very small adjustment can be corrected for any future guests. My children and I were disappointed that the staff decided to add chemicals to the pool at 8:00am on Sunday morning rendering the pool closed for 3 hours. I would assume barring any catastrophe that I was not made aware of, that general maintenance of the pool would be appropriately conducted during its scheduled closed hours so to not impact guest access. Also a sign notifying guests of pool status would help, if I had not been in the exercise room and warn another family of the pools recent addition of chemicals they would have been unaware. Short of that I will still continue to use this hotel when i am shipped out to Grand Rapids.

Clean. Friendly staff. Accepts pets. Good price. Appropriately situation near major highway. Good wifi. Unfortunately, the pool was closed when we were there but sometimes things break. Good workout room equipment. Safe area.

I had an amazing time at this hotel once again. I like the staff, their friendliness, professionalism, and respect to you as a customer. The wife and I got a Jacuzzi Suite, but our cooling system was not working for the room. The staff tried first with the maintenance guy, but after coming back from dinner and the room still hotter than outside, I had to go and request a new room. They moved me right next door, which was very easy to move all our stuff. Although, this room was cooler than the previous one, it was still too hot for my comfort but I managed and decided not to complain anymore. Overall it was an AMAZING time with just the Wifey and I.

Hotel staff were friendly and room adequate. Breakfast was very poor and advertised as a Full Breakfast. Hotel seemed to have a strange odor in hallways and elevator. Sink area wasn't cleaned properly in room.

We booked here to have 24 people in our family come for a get-together, visiting family in Grand Rapids. Booked 7 rooms all next to each other. Can't say enough of the staff...Rose, Kelsey and Kali who went above and beyond for us. This place has a great indoor pool with hot tub, outside basketball area, gym, rooms to use for all coming together, great breakfast and we even were offered deserts on the last night of our stay! Everything just was perfect. We were here for 3nights, 4 days...check in wasn't until after 3 pm, but we stopped In at 8:30am and were told all the rooms were ready and they let us check in early! Would totally recommend this hotel. Close to airport, HUGE Meijer's right across the street and many places to eat nearby. Can't go wrong here and the value was good. Hats off to the great staff and workers here! They were so friendly and helpful the entire stay!

This Best Western Hospitality Hotel and Suites opened their doors with friendly staff and amenities that enabled me to rest well after a long drive. I felt cared for. The provided breakfast helped me relax, and I so appreciate it. I know where to stay if I visit Grand Rapids again.

Location is very accessible to all features of Grand Rapids/Lake Michigan areas, year 'round. Clean and friendly, modestly priced even during tourist season. Family-oriented and attentive staff. Rooms are spacious and attractively decorated.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff, especially the young man at the front desk, was amazing - going above and beyond what he needed to assure our experience was comfortable and pleasant. Our acomodations were very comfortable - clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated the window draping as it was as dark as night until we opened them in the morning to find it was bright and sunny out. The breakfast was very adequate and served in their clean area upstairs.

This hotel offered shuttle service at 4: 30 am to the Grand Rapids airport and for returning our rental car the night before. A free dinner was offered the night before our flight as well as a bagged to-go breakfast early that morning. Each person we came into contact was very helpful. We stayed here at the end of a two-week UP Michigan trip and appreciated all the extras offered.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The first time, I was very happy with the stay. This time, check in took forever, there was trouble with the payment method that I had used a week prior without problem, the bed was very uncomfortable, the room was dirty, and there was glitter all over the hallway and room floor.

I had to bring my son to camp and needed a hotel to stay over. I found this hotel by bidding on a room on Priceline.com. I was pleasantly surprised with the room, cleanliness, and the breakfast provided in the morning that prevented me from having to stop somewhere else to eat in the morning before I headed home.

Place was clean and neat. Staff was very courteous and knowledgeable of the area. Would definitely stay here again. We had a 4 night stay here and were not disappointed at all! Breakfast was typical for a Best Western. Room was very spacious.

This was one of the few places in the city to stay at. I was worry about the place bc of the reviews. The place is actually pretty decent. It was clean and had ac. Maids cleaned our room when we were out. We got a king bed with a pull out couch. Both rooms had a tv with cable. Bathroom was clean and had all the necessary toiletries. Offered breakfast in the morning which was nice. There's really no view in this area, and it's by the freeway, so might be noisy at night, but I was too tired to noticed. I would recommend this hotel. But didn't stay at the other ones, but this one was good enough.

We booked this hotel through hotwire.com. Myself, my husband and our two small children stayed two nights. They put us in a King Suite that had two huge rooms (a living space with pull out couch, and a king bedroom) and two bathrooms. There was plenty of space for each of us to spread out and enjoy the weekend. Also, they brought a pack and play up to the room, right away, for the baby when we called to the front desk. The facility was clean, the breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was great. It was a great experience overall!

I made a phone call to request a certain room type. Fallon helped me confirm the request. Although it did not go smoothly at first. After several attempts to explain, I finally have my issue resolved. Thank you!

We stayed here (May 25th-29th) while visiting family, though this is more of a business hotel. We stayed in a king room at almost the very end of a hallway (rm 203). The hallways are a little like a maze but they have good signage and guest laundry which is nice. Our A/C in our room was at 60 but it was still warm in there (it rained every day as well, plus we had our curtains drawn, so the heat wasn't effecting it), so I don't think it worked quite right, it also made an occasional weird high pitch sound when turning off. The sheets were nice and clean, the refrigerator worked nice enough. They have done some remodeling but the caulking and painting between the doorway and the tub was done VERY badly, it didn't effect the function but looked bad. Also, the bathroom door would not lock. The microwave wouldn't work correctly, the timer/clock would get stuck and it would stay on despite it not counting down, and after we took our food out. This seems like a fire hazard... There were some bratty kids next door that would knock and then run. I know because I was looking through the peephole when they did it and would have opened the door but was not decent. I thought about calling the room and telling them to control their children but called the desk instead. They apologized but it continued the whole time we were there. They have a free breakfast, but we didn't partake. I thought it was nice they also had an upstairs dining area but it was very hot and stuffy. Also for how big and maze like the hotel is, they may consider having more than one elevator. We had a DND sign up and it was respected, we didn't have housekeeping in the whole time so can't speak to that. It was convenient to the freeway but not so close it was heard, and had several food places nearby. The last day (Sunday) we went down to the pool. It was busy and had a few kids but clean and nothing out of the ordinary. I believe the deepest part is 9ft which is more then most hotels. Some adults were monopolizing the hot tub so I can't speak to that. They also had a disable person lift and bathrooms (which not all hotels do) in the pool area. All in all, it's an okay basic place to stay if your not picky about things, I don't think it was worth the price though (our average was about $100 a night, $109 including tax).

Everything in room was in excellent shape: mattresses, video system, Internet access, sparkling bathroom. All appeared recently renovated. Breakfast was first rate. Check in super efficient. My partner and I felt we got much more than we bargained for. We both have a hard time believing it was rated a mere single star rating. We didn't bring suits, but there was an inviting pool as well. They also have timely shuttles to the airport. My partner and I look to save $ on our budget conscious trips, and have suffered through some lousy accommodations. This Best Western cost us less than some of those mentioned, but was by far the best experience

I came up to Grand Rapids for a graduation this past few days. When I arrived the staff was very helpful. I have a list of pros and cons, however keep in mind I know this is not a 4 star hotel but for the price it sure beats everything else in its class. I would stay here again. Pros: I found a deal on Hotwire for last minute accommodations, and they gave me a king suite instead as a free upgrade. The room was clean it was a remodeled room with a good size TV. Checked the bed and no bugs or blood stains very clean bed. The breakfast was good for a free breakfast. Pool was clean and common areas where clean. Grocery store across the street and good restaurants nearby. Cons: Even though it was clean, my room smelled like a dead rodent. Fixtures are kinda outdated like shower head and no central thermostat. Shower curtain was too small, not long enough and drain kind of slow. The free soap and shampoo are very generic kind of garbage very low quality. No room safe :/ Ceiling paint not all done missed a big spot in corner room 125. Comforter cover by sheet not duvet Pillows need replacing very worn. Breakfast was very limited with hot items, one day it was Bacon and Egg Cheese omelette , the next day it was scrambled eggs and sausage links. Waffles are the only other option daily.

Unbelievable person service. Clean Room, Quite room, Wi-Fi worked quickly, updated décor, hot water and cool air. Very well up kept hotel. The staff were al very friendly. Breakfast buffet was always kept full and hot. great selection. Pool area was kept up, crystal clear water. I don't EVER do these surveys but this was a terrific stay all around and wanted others to know. I will be returning to this location with my family. Also on a side note, there is a basketball pad and a garden gazebo area that is not on the list of amenities which adds to the family experience. Also the pool is larger than most hotels, and it has a depth to 7 1/2 feet. Indoor pool and was at a great temperature.

It was very affordable with awesome breakfast and comfortable room. The location is nice and the Brann's restraunt next door is great for a quick steak dinner of late night snack/drink. Centrally located as well near the highway

This was an overnight stay. Room was very spacious and clean. As it was just one night everything was fine. In the morning went down for free continental breakfast by the way very nice breakfast setup. On my way back to our room I spilled O.J on the check in floor. Manager on duty was very helpful with getting it cleaned up quickly. He sure has a great staff who came right away and cleaned. They didn't make me feel as if I was a problem for them. I would stay there again

Clean rooms, but the lobby and stairs needed vacuuming, Ask for a room in the front hallway, rooms in back were noisy at night, perhaps construction noise. Nice breakfast. Nice pool. Perhaps a little pricier than I was looking for

Overall the hotel was clean and breakfast was good but having three very large flies in the room that I had to take care of because the window would not close completely kind of put a crimp in the overall experience.

We stayed here on a road trip. It is located close to the highway exit. I received a large comfortable room on the first floor. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with many choices. I would stay here again. The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly.

Left clothes in the room, called same day to report. Staff couldn't find them but said they would check with housekeeping and call me back. Woke me up at 2:30 AM that night (!) to report that they couldn't find them. Seriously?! Room wasn't particularly clean, food on TV remote. Door hardware wasn't functioning properly, and the deadbolt wouldn't fully retract when I tried to leave the room, requiring 3-4 minutes of wrenching on the lever in order to get door open.

This was probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. When we arrived there was urine in the toilet. When we tried to flush it down the toilet kept overflowing. I called the front desk and no on ever came to the room to take care of the problem. The beds were hard as a rock! The exterior of the hotel is horrible!
