Best Western Hotel Dortmund Airport, Dortmund

We stayed here during a trip to see Borussia Dortmund. Overall the place was very clean and tidy. We did not eat in the restaurant but had a few drinks in the bar. The staff could not have been nicer.

Hotel is very close to Dortmund Airport - Aplerbeck city. U Bahn station is 10 min walking or 2-3 bus stations distance . Very quiet rooms and friendly staff. Nice breakfast with wide range of food as per every taste.

Hotel close to Dortmund airport in the middle of the industrial area and no restaurants on walking distance. My hotel room was clean, had a good bed, a office space but can use an upgrade to modernize. The staff is friendly and the restaurant services a good breakfast and dinner services.

My flight to Dortmund was delayed so I have arrived one day later, therefore i have missed my booking. I have called the hotel explaining my whole situation and the gentleman on the phone said, yes no problem we can arrange and move your room to the next day. When i arrived to the hotel, i came to the registration explaining my issue and telling them that i have arranged to move my booking for one day. In a result the person i was speaking to decided that he can barely speak English and he could not understand me (taking into the fact it was the same person i was speaking to). He told me that he did not speak with me, he have not seen my reservation for 30th of august and that i haven't payed a single penny for my stay here. In a result i have payed the whole stay again, my room was dirty, pillows were not washed for a decade, someone was turning on the music so loudly at 3 a.m. the reception did nothing. Horrible hotel, service. Do not advice you to stay here.

When we entered the room was a LOT smaller than on the pictures and very dusty. It was clean, but dusty. Then me and my girlfriend went on the wifi and pages at times wouldn't even load, or so slow slow that it was not funny anymore. After dinner in aplebeck (I believe its called). We decided to have a drink/coffee and ice cream dessert. The bar is super nice, very very comfy chairs and very nice polite lady behind the bar. Coffee was very good. The wine and ice cream too! So overal nit a great hotel. Nothing special at all, except the bar. Good for a 1 night stay if you have to fly, otherwise there are enough other hotels to choose from. Expected a bit better from best western.

Staying for business reasons I really enjoyed Bw Dortmund Airport hotel Nice place and people taking care of you. Rooms are confortable and quiet. Nice breakfast buffet with a large choice of sweet and savoury products

During my stay the temperature on the street was +32 degrees. I specially ordered a hotel with 4 stars (I thought the air conditioner would be self-evident). Nope. Well at least the windows opened, but near the airport and.... Service is at a very low level. When I had to find information about WIFI, I was forced to disturb the guy at the reception desk. He had to call someone, searching for something very hard in the computer, and finally, after approx 7 minutes, he managed to print the passwords. About the room: the room ordered as 18sq/m. I have not measured, but the room visually much less. Finally : an ordinary economy class hotel (like ETAP HOTEL ). I don't know who gave them the right to be called for a 4 star hotel, but in my opinion they are up to 4 stars- like the moon. Not reccomended!!

I took a night in this hotel - biggest plus is location near the airport which is especially good if you have morning flight. It's an old building adopted to a hotel so it's not perfect in terms of quality. Service is rather poor - people seem to be lost a bit and hired accidentally. They had a problem with issuing an invoice for me, then promised to send it via email but I still haven't received anything. Generally not bad for 1 night if you have flight early in the morning, no special requirements regarding room, service and food.

The hotel with the excellent service. The reception works 24 hours, it is good when you come from the airport. The hotel is 5 minutes by car from the airport. It is really clean and cosy. Thank you very much!

Definitely a good choice for a night or two stay in the airport area. Just 5–7 min away from the airport. The room is fully wheelchair adopted, with all necessary equipment. There is a lot of space in the room. the bed can be separated, which is a big plus. The breakfast is nice!

Reception staff very helpfull and frendly, specially the reception guy Marcus he is very professional ! Also breakfast it was very delicious and fresh... Hotel its generally nice and clean for a hotel with 4 stars...

The location is close to the airport and main roads. There are restaurants, good public transport, and petrol stations nearby. Check in was very smooth, the staff member was friendly. He gave us some good tips regarding restaurants. The room was decent sized. It had a proper kettle (I don't see much of this in the continent anymore), a proper functional A/C, decent TV, safe, fridge and ample storage space. The facilities were neat and clean, there were enough towels to go around. They had supplied complimentary toiletries. On the whole, we slept very well. The building had a very good sound insulation, but the walls between the rooms were rather thin and not so sound proof. The breakfast was simply brilliant.. I have been travelling in Germany for quite some time and it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in the country. Bacon, Nuremburger sausages, scrambled and boiled eggs, various cereals, breads, pastries, an excellent selection of cold meats, fresh fruit, milk, yoghurt, cream, good coffee... the list goes on. The breakfast is highly recommended. The parking is not exactly free; you can have free parking if you park in the street, but to cross the barrier, you need to pay 4 euros and they have a more expensive basement parking. Management, if I were you, I would go through your English translation of the house rules left in the rooms. The check-out time was given as 12 am in the copy in our room.

Clean, well equiped room, nice staff, perfect location close to the airport, but planes dont bother you, next to the hotel there is a shopping centre Real. You can have a nice walk in a quite area outside the city centre

We choose this hotel because it advertised food was served in restaurant and did bar meals. Was looking forward for something to eat after a 12 hour drive only to be told all closed as all staff on holiday till the New year. So had to get back in car was NOT impressed

We booked drive,sleep fly arrangement. Unfortunaly the employees were not aware of this and took a lot of explanation. Breakfast time not correct for airport hotel (6.30 is too late as a lot of flights are between 7 and 9, also no alternative for like breakfast boxHad to ask and explain in the morning for taxi transferOverall not impresive

Booked for an overnight stay before a morning flight, so didn't expect much. I was very pleasantly surprised of how nice and clean and warm the hotel was. Friendly stuff at reception and at the bar. Very close to the airport. Recommended!

Very friendly and nice staff. However the hotel And the rooms are definitely not 4* standard I would expect. First impression- old style heavy keys!However we hoped that since the hotel is quite far away from the center , the rooms would be modern and spacy. Well the bathroom is outdated/ old style shower- dont get me wrong- everything is clean and tidy but for the price - disappointing. Better stay in a 3* hotel in the center!

Rooms are very big and clean. Decor is modern and the bathroom is good. Nearest public transport is 1.8km away so getting to hotel is difficult from anywhere. The restaurant menu is very odd and the night I was there it 1 woman working the bar, clean and kitchen so I question how fresh the food would be !! The hotel is 3km from airport.. but no airport shuttle so taxi required at 10 euro. I would not stay again. If you do stay and need food the supermarket Real is about 15 min walk from hotel and has some options. Many other better hotels with a shuttle available.

I wish I could stay in a best western that I enjoyed for once. This is one of the better ones, with refurbished rooms. However, the building is terrible, the restaurant is dark and unwelcoming and the whole place has the feel of an office block. The staff in the restaurant were friendly but the food was not great.

The rooms are nice, the has friendly staff. Hallways could have been more "fresh/modern" but all in all good place for a good price. It's close to the airport and highway and it's a 24h reception and wifi is good. Would recomend it.

Although the airport was nearby, we heard no noise. The room was very quiet - the beds were very good - parking was easy - we got a very extensive breakfast with a lot of choices - in short this is a highly recommendable place to stay !

This in no way a four star hotel. Difficult to access, only a 12€ taxi from thr airport and €23 each way into town. Surely a 4 Star should have access to a shuttle bus. The Hotel room whilst spotless had no aircon and it was 27 deg when we arrived. Even the Ibis Budget at Beaconsfield has room a/c. No coffee shop or lounge to sit, Restaurant only open lunchtime and after 6pm in the evening. However a good breakfast at €14 each and good restaurant food, but again up there in price at around €20.00 per main course. Great staff, most helpful and friendly. Lastly the price, over €100 per night with a tax to be added when we check out.

Being in Dortmund on business recently, I wanted to stay somewhere convenient for the airport rather than the city. This hotel is just a few minutes' drive away and whilst the location isn't exactly glamourous, it's very quiet, close to the major roads, and it's got plenty of parking. The staff were extremely friendly when we checked in and this continued in the restaurant and bar where we spent the evening. The standard of service was excellent, the food was genuinely very good indeed, and we couldn't believe just how inexpensive the rooms were. My room was quite large, with big windows, lots of light, and clearly freshly renovated. The small platter of fresh fruit as a welcome also didn't go unappreciated! Breakfast was great as well. I'd definitely stay here again and would look forward to doing so.

It is a very nice hotel , friendly staff and nice customer service . Rooms are clean and nicely equipted. U can book transfer in advance from/to airport. To the city taxis are around 20-25 euros. And it takes around 15-20 minutes.

We stayed only one night on our way to Amsterdam, but we really liked the service and rooms. They are really big, simple but great design, have tea, coffee and one water for free, very pleasant and helpful staff, big parking for cars.

My second visit to this hotel has been equally as enjoyable as my first. The staff are incredibly helpful and speak excellent English if my German let's me down. The rings are very well maintained and are in excellent condition, the beds are comfortable, the shower hot and powerful. The bar is quiet and welcoming at night with attentive bar staff and the breakfast in the morning is varied, beautifully cooked and presented. Dortmund is a lovely city to visit and this hotel should be at the top of your list to make your base while you are here.

Got to stay here for a night due to a missed flight. The place has had an overhaul as i have stayed here previously. Nice job! The room was spotless and spacious has everything in it you could possibly need. Many thanks especially to the front of house staff. Will definately recommend!

This was a last minute booking, and just for a single overnight stay for the airport. On arrival the reception staff was excellent, soon checked in and given room key. Check-out was again efficient and friendly staff. The room was great, large space, with seating area and small table, desk & tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom clean. Looks like whole room has been recently refurbished I didn't eat in restaurant in the evening, but the meals others were eating looked great. Bar staff also very friendly. Free WiFi I had stayed here once before a couple of years ago, but since BW have taken ownership it has most definitely improved. Well recommended.

Check in was good and efficient. Rooms a bit dated but does what you need it to do. Not sure I'd stay there again though. Breakfast was ok. Service was a little bit slow in the restaurant. Check out again was efficient.

To expensive for what you became. A very but very small room where, if you are two people, you have to wait one from another to can go out or to take your jacket off. I think the floor has like 70 cm free space. Not again... for this money !

EHM Hotel, has hot and cold breakfast, Bacon, Scrambled egg, hard boiled egg, yogurt with mix fruits, cereals, cold sandwich, cheese etc... Downtown Dortmund and the Mall is about 4-5 miles away and some nice restaurant...Not so much restaurant near the hotel, there is Supermart named REAL and a discount mart named ALDI.. REAL has much better BIER options. Just that if there is a Dortmunder Soccer game the rate of the hotel is triple (Euro 239) the regular price. Breakfast is 13 Euro. House keeping did not replenish my coffee in the room but I could care less.

Stayed here while spending the weekend in Dortmund and although clearly a budget hotel I found the facilities excellent. The friendly English-speaking staff were able to help with any question, the rooms were smart and the beds comfortable. You can't ask for more than than really. Oh, and free wi-fi of course.
