"Excellent"
Elaine15, 10 Avril 2024

We had a late check. Very friendly gent at reception who was very helpful. Drinks and snacks were available to purchase and very reasonable. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The welcome at breakfast was extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful.

"Amazing food and service"
Elaine S, 22 Mars 2024

The bathroom was OK shower could be upgraded. Room was fine. There was a private party so we couldn't use reeds. Were not told when booking. However what made the trip was the food and service in the pastures Lodge.outstanding. very friendly well done Ali certainly would visit again.

"Would Stay There Again"
timwJ8942SS, 20 Mars 2024

Modern and well equipped hotel. Ground floor room was large and well appointed. Decent breakfast served by cheerful and helpful staff. Check in/out perfectly straight forward although credit card not swiped meaning I had to pay for each round of drinks and meal course separately. Wifi not very good. Struggled to connect

"Biz stay"
davidtayl0r01, 24 Février 2024

Great service and value. As a regular visitor I am made to feel welcome every time I check in. The breakfast team are outstanding always welcoming and happy to provide a good service with a smile. The team go the extra mile from check in to checkout.

"Poor staff attitude"
Quest66966459264, 21 Janvier 2024

I paid for 1 night and breakfast when we went for breakfast a very rude and abrupt lady your room only with attitude. I explained no I've paid for breakfast she then sent a manager who said the same thing I showed her the booking confirmation on my phone and didn't get much of an apology, this was the 2nd time I've stayed here last time there was a lot of noise from a room above I spoke to a night porter who sorted it out , then last night same thing 1130 loud TV next room so I had a word and it went quiet well apart from the snoring from the same room through the egg shell walls I would never stay here again

"cost cutting hotel"
Helen R, 08 Décembre 2023

It seemed as if there was a cost cutting plan in progress. We had booked a table at Reeds restaurent, this was cancelled two days notice. Three different excuses Problem with gas Not enough bookings Shortage of staff. Just for good measure the bar was closed. Buffet breakfast gone although served breakfast was good. There is a restaurent across the car park which does great pub food. We are 4 elderly people two of whom are disabled and the walk across the carpark was an unforseen challenge but we had no choice. If you are thinking of booking this hotel be prepared for a B&B experience

"Not what we paid for"
Clare K, 03 Décembre 2023

Terrible experience. Arrived at the hotel which was booked via Booking.com, given our keys to what we thought was an ultra modern Deluxe double room ti find that we had been put in the old part of the building in the Rockingham Suite which was dark, dated and smelt really musty. We complained to the manager who gave us a partial refund and basically told us we had to stay there and deal with it, as they didn't have any other rooms available. We ended up not sleeping all night due to a hard mattress and buzzing sound all night from electrics. We also got to the hotel to find tge dining area and bar had a function in so it was very loud and meant we couldn't use this facility. Breakfast was not worth the money. We got into the dining area at 0930an and basically there wasn't anything lest except for hot food which was only Luke warm. They also couldn't keep up with supply and demand so had to wait for some products to get put out again. Poor service by all! Wouldn't recommend and certainly wouldn't return.

"Fabulous Festive Stay. "
Markcaine-grierson, 03 Décembre 2023

Stayed Sat 2nd December as was attending the Gary and Robbie tribute night. Had a great stay in room 27 a comfortable bed and spacious room. We'll decorated. The evening in Reeds went well with great entertainment and we were well looked after by the bar staff particularly Paula. Luke Walker and his team were great with a tasty Christmas turkey dinner served. Breakfast next morning. Great Service from the breakfast team was looked after by Helen who again was very attentive during this busy breakfast period. Tasty breakfast buffet served. A great way to start the day... Thanks again for a great evening and a great stay. finally thanks to India on reception for an efficient friendly check out.... Can't wait to return....

"Bad start but great resolution"
Roseelizabeth2008, 02 Décembre 2023

Bad start as they didn't have our booking, but Luke went above on beyond to ensure the issues were resolved and we had an amazing night. Big shout out to Paula, very polite and welcoming. We were quite stressed and irate and she was very attentive all evening. Had it not been for the hiccup would have given 5 starts, but both Luke and Paula are a credit to your team so well done.

"Fantastic food, great service!"
Kev F, 11 Septembre 2023

Really great food. Lovely place and location. Excellent staff. Large spacious and rooms. Which exceeded expectations We were at a family wedding and the whole experience was brilliant from start to finish and so well organised. Made for a lovely memorable day and night and the special B and B rate for attending a function was superb value. I will definitely be coming back!

"Poor Western plus hotel"
636martincb2044ga, 26 Août 2023

Room was to warm no air-con,fan provided but unable to leave window open overnight as we were on ground floor. Restaurant ‘Redcar' evening meal was poorly cooked Prawns were not de-veined and fish was overcooked. Breakfast due to a conference taking place was only available from 06:15 till 08:15 not 09:30 as originally advertised was not told until after checking in.

"Acceptable stay"
resters, 23 Août 2023

Overall acceptable stay but personally we found it rather confusing. Plenty of free parking on arrival & the building looks new & grand outside. But interior "brown" decor appears older. Room clean but it was very warm & thermostat in room ineffective (no instructions provided). Pastures Lodge & Hotel advertised together but the Lodge is pub restaurant opposite-within grounds (seems very popular but did not try it). Therefore it seemed odd that food also served in Hotel (menus for both provided in room). The Breakfast is from 6:15 & it was made very clear guests must definitely leave dining room by 8:30. (Sandwich can be served in room until 9:00). At 7:45 the fresh fruit bowl was empty & also bread & hash browns (but the breakfast ladies were very helpful to quickly provide the bread & hash browns). As later breakfast is available in the Lodge it seems strange that guests are not served there - but that is separate extra charge. Reception is very distracted by TV opposite - no queue but no rush to serve on arrival & also had to wait until staff conversation ended in order to check out. No directions volunteered regarding hotel layout & timings etc without enquiry. Quite handy accommodation for area but seems like it may be good Wedding Reception venue with spacious grounds.

"Trip to Doncaster Races"
mbprocter, 08 Août 2023

We stayed here Friday to Monday as the location is ideal for the races and nicely isolated from any noisy towns and roads. Rooms are excellent but very warm, corridors a bit noisy from customers and cleaners and the door closers need adjusting. The small shelf next to the wardrobe has a sharp corner that injured my partner on her forehead. Beware. Bed a bit firm and uncomfortable. The food in the restaurant - mine was ok but partner's was cold and we asked for a warm up but it came back cold again. Next table complained theirs was burnt. Not great for a bill over £50. Many reviews seem to indicate problems in this restaurant but we can thoroughly recommend the restaurant across the car park in the pub. Carvery was great.

"Fantastic hotel with amazing staff"
J3920ZMkates, 29 Juillet 2023

I stayed at Pastures Lodge Hotel last week on business it is a lovely hotel with some beautiful surroundings. The hotel rooms are very clean with everything you could ask for including iron ironing board, fan, hair dryer, kettle etc beds are very comfy. Reeds restaurant is inside the hotel serving some beautiful food from breakfast to evening meal and across the carpark is pastures pub serving pub meals ... every member of staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble they all look happy to be there which says a lot about the management and environment they work and is truly nice to see!! Darren the night porter is amazing he has spent all week keeping me in supply of milk (I drink too much coffee!) Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure your stay in enjoyable and comfortable!

"Think twice before you stay if you want a late night."
57Benny, 09 Juillet 2023

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel and room was very clean. We dined in the restaurant one night and the food was okay, nothing to blow your mind. Checkin was prompt and very easy at 2pm. The main down side was the hotel bar closing at 10pm. With no chance for guests to get a drink before retiring to bed or having a conversation with other guests over a relaxing drink, not even a coffee or tea. I did ask and was told that brew facilities were in our rooms. You could walk across the carpark to the the pub.. but that closes at 11pm, and they had live music on one of the nights we stayed. Where in the modern world does a hotel not serve drinks to guests after 10pm? They are potentially losing extra money that in this day and age every business are trying to capture.Would I stay here again??? Probably not. Not simply because the bar was closed..but because basically the hotel closed at 10pm.

"The Best"
Alljude, 06 Juin 2023

Hotel in a great location just off the motorway for a one off night on our journey to Suffolk. Rooms and restaurant well all the hotel spotless. Rooms spacious and everything you need. Had a lovely meal across in the pasture pub. Would definitely stay again

"Family visiting from Scotland"
julienwilson1, 25 Mai 2023

Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds - very quiet and a great base for seeing the surrounding area. Good access to York and Sheffield. Visited family in the area. Always a warm welcome in Yorkshire with friendly staff too

"Very comfortable stay"
michelleL6402TI, 01 Mai 2023

Excellent facilities, lovely clean rooms and very helpful staff. The family room was fantastic for us as it had a double bed and two single beds in there. When you book a family room, sometimes it is a pull out bed that is really uncomfortable, but this was a proper bed. The bathroom is well stocked with towels and toiletries and a good range of drinks in the room. Fantastic hotel.

"Pastures Hotel ticks the boxes"
acawthorne, 29 Avril 2023

Pleasant stay at a hotel with efficient and friendly staff and checking in and out takes very little time. The Hotel ticks all the boxes and is a practical, trouble free experience. Food is good, rooms are spacious and there's plenty of social space. It's handy having the Pastures Lodge pub and restaurant within 50 metres and there's lots of parking spaces. Highly recommended.

"Everything required for an overnight stay"
Silver-Fox-Two, 06 Février 2023

Needed somewhere for travelling friends to stay and The Pastures ticked all the boxes. A few drinks in the bar on arrival, comfortable rooms and fine dining in the restaurant for dinner then a nightcap at the bar. The full english breakfast was hot and ample while the cold option was exceptional

"Didn't want to leave!"
Global53180844660, 23 Janvier 2023

Just had a wonderfully relaxing stay at this hotel. I booked the corporate rate and wasn't really expecting much for the price. As soon as I arrived, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Parking was so easy, right in front of the hotel. My greeting at reception was so friendly and accommodating, all staff throughout were more than friendly and helpful. I decided to eat at the hotel and the mushroom light bite in cream and cheese with garlic bread was unbelievably good at a really reasonable price. The room was very clean and I wanted to take the bed and pillows home with me… so comfortable and an amazing night's sleep! I woke up to breakfast included and even an ‘extras' list of dippy eggs or avo toast, eggs benedict all included too. I was so relaxed and my stay was so lovely that I didn't want to leave! I was set up for my day of training ahead. Thanks to all the amazing friendly staff I encountered on my stay! Will definitely be back when in the area! ☺️

"Excellent Service and a comfortable sleep."
Markcaine-grierson, 02 Janvier 2023

Just back from spending New Years Eve in the hotel, Stayed room 29 which is an excellent comfortable well.decorated room. Great facilities with a fridge in the room. The staff here provide a great service, particularly Michelle on reception who delivers great service, The night porter Darren looked after us in the early hours as well, good service. The Breakfast next day was delicious with plenty of food available on the buffet. and great attentive service from the breakfast team from Helen. Attended Reeds Restaurant new years eve and had a great evening of entertainment and fine food. Thanks and can't wait to return in 23.

"Everything you need."
mrseja1, 23 Décembre 2022

The hotel decor is slightly dated but overall the hotel has everything you need. Staff are exceptionally helpful and hotel is easy to access with plenty of parking. If I needed to stay again in this area I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

"Very disappointing "
G8728PLtonys, 14 Décembre 2022

Catering for a lot of people at once is very difficult with some days being easier than others. We visited this place for our annual Christmas lunch along with about seventy others in the function room. The staff here were very good, often run off their feet and deserving of a medal. However let's get to the important bit the food. Dreadful would be an appropriate word to use to describe this. I had roast beef (not my choice) it was dry over cooked and cold. Two roast potatoes tasted if they were cooked then deep fried not roasted at all. Yorkshire puds we're soggy and in some cases burnt. The only pleasant thing about this meal was the cauliflower which was perfect. The meal came with a gravy boat for the table which actually arrived after every one had finished their food. As a starter we had what I thought was a tomato and basil soup which was very thick and generally horrible. Desert was the traditional and surprisingly not bad, except for the custard that had been standing around so long it had a skin on it. Away from the food we had a compère who looked stupid in a red suit and white shoes a bit like a thin Father Christmas. He was completely boring and very long winded a hair cut would also help a bloke living in the fifties. About the good bits, sorry I couldn't fin one and my organisation will definitely looking somewhere else next year.

"Great Hotel"
gaddy2019, 09 Décembre 2022

Staff at the Hotel are great. Always helpful and good to chat too. Breakfast is excellent. Rooms are always clean and more often than not, I get the room I ask for (I stay at the Hotel every week). Hotel location is perfect for visiting my Customer,

"Party night at pastures "
Julia C, 21 Novembre 2022

The Christmas dinner was very tasty with three vegetables given. The meat was tender and roast potatoes just right. I don't usually eat Yorkshire pudding but the gravy was really just so tasty. Boys Z was really enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful . Had a fantastic time

"excellent hotel"
Jamie W, 16 Novembre 2022

Great place to stay but make sure you don't use the Pastures restaurant as the food was awful.Huge choice but maybe this is why it's not up to much. The hotel however is great, clean and quite.Lots of parking spaces and a lovely walk bt the canal just a few steps away.

"The Dochertys "
Donna M, 10 Novembre 2022

Not sure where I start, walking through the door we were met with fabulously efficient and pleasant reception staff, booked in and off to our wonderful room 30. Absolutely perfect. My husband has parkinsons and the shower was huge but the mat was not, requested another, it was there in minutes. The hairdryer conked out in seconds after switching it on, phoned reception, hardly got the phone down and they were at the door with a new one. Every member of staff we encountered was absolutely lovely. We had a drink in the bar and again staff were fabulous. Yes its not open at night but theres the pastures lodge literally a stones throw away so if you complain about that theres something wrong with you. It was simply and lovely we can't wait for our next visit.

"Another Excellent Stopover"
MIDHURSTMOODYBLUES, 15 Octobre 2022

Stayed using a BuyaGift 2-night voucher - Room was clean with a good en-suite power shower. Smart TV. Large comfortable bed. We were let down by a restaurant nearby so had a meal on the Saturday using their onsite Reeds Restaurant which was fine. All staff very friendly. Continental breakfasts were good - we had porridge, croissants, toast, yogurts fruit juice green tea / Coffee. Good spot to visit nearby countryside.

"GOOD LOCATION AND HELPFUL STAFF"
DAVID C, 14 Octobre 2022

Generally OK, but not cleaning rooms to stop covid is a new one on me. Breakfast fairly good. Watch out for the World's slowest toaster. Staff helpful and efficient. Overall good value for money. Good base for travel.

"Disappointed"
W2485RDbarbarap, 24 Septembre 2022

Have stayed at this hotel before and been happy with all aspects of the hotel. This time I was disappointed. * extremely uncomfortable bed. Very soft and gave way in the middle. * could only get scalding hot water in the shower. * menus are placed in rooms, but as we found out you can not get food between 4pm and 6pm. Staff gave confusing information and eventually after waiting to 6pm we're told that if we did not want full dinner we would have to go to the pub across the car park. * not very clean in place. The table where drinks were erred at breakfast was filthy. Glasses were not that clean either.

"Pastures New..."
TheSausageRoll, 23 Septembre 2022

Accommodation is standard Premier Inn style rooms, with the addition of Tea, Coffee & Biscuits. I ate in the pub across the car park, which was reminiscent of Harvester type pub grub. Busy pub for a weekday, service was swift & efficiant with the food being reasonable, and decently priced. Breakfast was buffet style with a few options on the menu, to order from the kitchen. Staff were attentitive enough, througout my stay. Would still recommend this hotel, despite its lack of atmosphere as a "crash pad" for nɔ more than one night.

"Great little Gem"
Wander34261291993, 11 Septembre 2022

Stayed here on a booze and snooze package as the pub adjacent had a band on. Great value, great service. Got a complimentary wine as it was our anniversary, reception staff were lovely. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy what more can you ask for. Breakfast was a buffet style with lots of choice and great quality products used. Thanks Reeds/Pastures

"Don't bother"
Adrian_di_Bolton, 07 Septembre 2022

Too many issues to mention but things of note: the mattress springs creaked: the staff were not well trained/not polite; no air con; great location; not allowed into the restaurant due to functions; breakfast was OK but would have preferred cooked

"Gathering of Family and friends after a funeral"
863mrsr, 01 Septembre 2022

Donna the bar manager was friendly and professional .everything went to plan .All the staff that we encountered were excellent from planning the wake, bookings & stays at the hotel .Exceeded all expectations.Thankyou

"Excellent value for money!"
HolidayAddicts82, 29 Août 2022

Check in was easy, young man wasn't the most welcoming receptionist I've ever met but nevertheless checked us in ok. Room and bathroom nice but basic cheap mattress unfortunately. Selection of pillows but not luxurious, quite hard/lumpy or low. Very good tea tray with hot chocolate and biscuits. Thought there was no soap but it was in the cupboard under the sink with another set of towels and loo roll. Very powerful hot shower, nice towels. Great selection of tv channels including Netflix. Great amount of wardrobe space which housed a safe and fan. Slept well, nice and peaceful location however was awoken by selfish staff or guests who were talking very loudly, walking down the corridor then the guests in the room next to us alarm went off at 6:45, they then put the tv on and I could hear every word what was being said! Lots of door banging also. So if you like a lie in on a bank holiday might be worth taking ear plugs! Just off the car park is a canal with a nice walk. Mcds/costa a minutes drive away and good you could use the dearne valley leisure centre's pool for free which is also about a minute away by car. Breakfast was the usual hot buffet and selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit, pastries etc very nice, no complaints there! All in all for £56 for a twin room and breakfast it's very good value for money and I would stay again.

"Room 26"
D4110WTkevinh, 29 Août 2022

Great Food, but stay clear of room 26. After having a fantastic meal, we returned to the hotel room and at around 12 PM retired for the night. we were settled in our bed and I said my nightly prayer, said goodnight to my wife and fell asleep. Within a short period of time, I was awoken by a strange sound coming from my wife, in obvious distress. She was awake and trying to call out for help, she was totally incoherent, just able to make a mumbling sound, as though she was gagged. She wasnt able to move her limbs, being totally paralysed and had a look of fear on her face. I reacted by shouting her name and asking, what was going on, she wasnt able to respond. However, after a short period of time she was able to verbalise and tell me what was going on. She was being restrained, unable to move any of her limbs. she felt that the entity was trying to enter her body and she was fighting to prevent this from happening. The ordeal lasted for over 15 minutes, after which she was physically back to her normal self, but a Psychological wreak. Of course we discussed the whole event, which seemed like we'd been involved in a horror movie. Perhaps my prayers helped my wife pull through. there is a lot more to this ordeal, to which I'm unwilling to elaborate. I don't wish to frighten off potential hotel guests. We spent the rest of the night awake, counting the hours and longing for day light. We checked out before time. I informed a member of staff of our ordeal, noted a little smile on her face. Of course I will be contacting the manager asap. Would we stay at the hotel again, yes, but we'll give room 26 a wide birth

"Excellent stay"
julierN2467ZO, 13 Août 2022

We went here as we were given a voucher as a gift.we chose here because we wanted to go to york.the hotel was excellent.and the restaurant over the road from it was great the food portions were massive would definitely go again

"Clean but no hot water !"
007dazza007, 13 Août 2022

Good location and buildings. Staff friendly . Clean rooms. Bfast hearty. Dining room shuts early 8.30pm for travellers, but u can still get a drink. Negatives: sound proofing from next door tv. No hot water in 2 rooms by 8.30am which colours the whole stay - needs bigger hot water tanks?

"Peaceful stay"
Smarts2017, 07 Août 2022

We only stayed here for one night but really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and we both had a lovely sleep. The breakfast was so good. Cooked breakfast, creaks and fruit on offer, also some pastries It all felt very relaxed. If we visit the area again we would definitely stay here. Thank you

"Fantastic stay!"
Kimst281, 31 Juillet 2022

We stayed at this hotel as we had tickets to see Elvis in their Reeds Restaurant. They have a special 'Booze and Snooze' discounted rate if you have tickets to one of their shows. When I bought tickets they were fully booked but took my details and promised to contact me if they had a cancellation. I was sceptical but, true to their word, they rang me on the day of the show as a room had become available. Great customer service! The room was lovely - clean, comfy bed, great shower - all things we look for in a hotel room. The breakfast the next day was brilliant! It is buffet style with fruit, yoghurt, cereals, pastries and cooked breakfast. The breakfast was piping hot, everything was well stocked and the staff were friendly and worked hard clearing tables, serving tea and coffee and replenishing everything. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

"Vist"
W7445QInikkim, 30 Juillet 2022

On arrival the night Porter was really rude telling me I haven't paided and demanding I paided again. When showing I had paided he quickly said oh yes its come shown on the computer. Slamming the papper work on the desk for me to fill out. Was just about to tell me where the room was the phone rang and he answered after a few minutes stood like a mellon we set of finding the room without any direction. The place was lovely and clean an the room was nice.

"A very warm welcome and lovely rooms/food"
Irmani S, 27 Juillet 2022

Wonderful staff at this comfortable hotel - nothing was too much trouble and we had a very warm Yorkshire welcome. We were staying for two nights for work due to train strikes. The room was very large and comfortable with a good shower. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Bar list was good and inexpensive. Staff at both breakfast and dinner service were just lovely - really hospitable and made us feel at home. One lovely touch - we arrived at 8.45 after the restaurant and pub opposite had stopped serving food and on hearing of our need for a bite to eat, the staff rustled up some sandwiches and chips for us for a light meal - hugely appreciated after a long and stressful journey. The only niggle was how early everything closed - full dinner menus at the restaurant and pub opposite both end at 8.30 and the bar closes at about 10.15. Fine for a business stay, but I'd be less satisfied as a leisure traveller with such early closing hours. I guess this reflects the fact that midweek travellers are mostly here for work and the working hours locally are earlier than those I'm used to! The night porter was happy to furnish me with a final glass of wine at 10.45 which was mix appreciated!

"Decent place, nice staff"
Jimmyhetfield, 27 Juin 2022

It was a good hotel. Room needed an overhaul, carpets especially. Room upstairs was very noisy, like an elephant was there. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. No other complaints on the whole, would stay again . Parking was good and looked safe . Breakfast was good and always plentiful.

"Lovely"
Vacation646265, 08 Juin 2022

The room I stayed in I assume had been recently refurbished and was beautifully decorated and really clean. Bed was enormous and really comfy. Staff polite and informative on check in and check out. Room service was really nice and delivered quickly and breakfast was good. Would 100% stay again, surrounding area was nice and parking easy.

"PASTURES HOTEL."
lloydelaine3197, 08 Juin 2022

We have used this hotel before. and it never disappoints. it is consistently very good... just a pity the lift was not working during our stay. Would definitely stay again. Other members of my family always use this hotel when visiting family in the area.

"A great stay in a really friendly hotel"
robeggleton, 31 Mai 2022

This hotel is ideally placed for access to Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster, as well as nature reserves and the Clumber Park National Trust site. the staff are helpful and friendly, and the food both at the hotel and the neighbouring Pastures Lodge was lovely.

"Ferindly and Clean"
N4449PGinfo, 03 Mai 2022

We have had a few bad experiences with Travelodge and Premier of late so thought wed try Best Western. We were not dissapoints. Late check in was no problem, large clean family room, ample parking and friendly staff. Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was good quality. Tea and coffee top ups throughout. Goodbye Travelodge.

"Amazing stay!"
Nomad02620173609, 01 Mai 2022

Stayed here for 2 nights, absolutely lovely hotel room was spotless and staff were all welcoming. Night porter absolutely lovely (unsure of name) nothing was an issue to any of the staff they were all always smiling! Breakfast delicious with lots of selection. Would stay again!

"Pastures Lodge (Reeds) Our Wedding Stay Experience"
Roy-Spink, 25 Avril 2022

From the very first enquiring phone call to the very end of our stay at Pasture Lodge (Reeds) was an absolutely delightful, friendly and helpful experience. Great welcoming staff at reception, in the bar, throughout wedding breakfast and night time session and again at breakfast time. Fantastic bedrooms, large and very comfortable beds. Showers to die for. Rooms very reasonably priced. Affordable bar prices. Wedding meals set at very reasonable rates, excellent selection. Beautifully cooked and presented and each course timed to perfection (not too early and not to late) and all plates on the table in less than two minutes. Luke, Gabby and Olivia and the chefs ran their routine like a well choreographed ballet, silent, seamless and graceful. The lawn at the back and front of the hotel is an excellent setting for the photographs. My wife, Christine, our guests and myself cannot thank all of the staff enough for making our big day and stay a fabulous end to end experience. For those of you looking for a venue for you big day, or celebration, look no further than the Pastures Lodge (Reeds).

"Old Fashioned Decor"
krl2004, 25 Avril 2022

Disappointed with welcome when we arrived and holey towels in our bathroom TV worked and changed channels when it felt like it Internet connection not good. We cannot comment on the bar or restaurant within hotel as we was not allowed to use due to a wedding using the facilities The hotel location is pleasant and away from the city which was nice. We had a nice walk along the river.

"Visiting family"
219gemmas, 23 Avril 2022

Lovely room, good size, nice biscuits, slept well. Enjoyed my stay here, staff were helpful, and the location was perfect for visiting family. Good value for money and i would stay again. Lots of parking near the hotel and pastures lodge food was great too.

"Very nice!"
Phil H, 18 Avril 2022

South Yorkshire, especially outside Sheffield (which is a great city) is much underrated as a place to visit, with a lot of lovely rolling countryside and big, wide-open skies. To be fair, many of the towns have been left in a pretty run down state by the same de-industrialisation that has cleaned up the air, ans some of the landscape is not so much rural (although there is plenty of that, with some lovely historic villages) as post-industrial, and all the more interesting for that. The location of the Pastures Hotel illustrates all this nicely: just outside Mexborough, a town that has seen better days, in a rural spot by a canal and next to a nature reserve with a huge range of wildlife, and close to Conisbrough Castle, an impressive landmark that deserves wider recognition. It's about 30 minutes journey to Sheffield either by road or by rail from nearby Conisbrough or (better) Swinton stations. The hotel itself is tremendous value - the rooms are spacious and well equipped, spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds. Showers were very good, hot and powerful. The one improvement I'd suggest would be to connect the smart TVs to the internet (ours, at least, wasn't). The cooked buffet breakfast was really good, with a range of local sausages, bacon and black pudding, all cooked very well. The staff deserve a special mention, all very friendly and helpful, providing very efficient service - they would rate 5 stars if I could grade them separately. Real Yorkshire hospitality. My only real gripe was with the hotel's website which was pretty awful to use (and looks terrible). I wasn't able to book breakfast with our room bookings and the whole experience of making the booking was very poor; however, I think that the responsibility for that rests with Best Western rather than the particular hotel. That aside, I would really recommend this hotel if you're in the area.

Explore10393753263, 18 Avril 2022

Excellent Location to find and so close to the Trans Pennine Trail which is what we were doing. parking was great Evening meal was great as was the breakfast, the rooms were really good & the staff were very helpful

"Great stay"
biffswife65, 12 Avril 2022

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, we had a family room and double room, both where spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great, quality ingredients and cooked well. Staff were very helpful. We had a beautiful view of the river and countryside that runs behind the hotel. Overall stay very good. We will be coming back.

"Brilliant Hotel and Pub"
M8905PUsamanthas, 16 Mars 2022

Excellent hotel, rooms have everything you need and breakfast is very tasty. Set accross from an on-site pub that has a huge menu choice. It also has an adults only section which is a plus. The hotel and pub have a lot to offer couples and families

"Excellent Comfortable Stay"
Markcaine-grierson, 27 Février 2022

Stayed on Saturday 26th Feb in Room 25. Arrived early and room was ready, great checkin service from Michelle, spent the night in the Reeds Restaurant where again we had a great evening at one of their fabulous tribute nights. Reeds a very classical Restaurant within the hotel. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast delicious and tasty the next morning with great service and plenty of staff to help, thanks to Helen and the team. Can't wait to stay again.

"Perfect getaway"
chrissmith28, 18 Février 2022

I booked this trip to have a Valentine's treat with my wife. She was very shocked and happy after not thinking I'd book anything. We had Afternoon tea and dinner followed by the nights stay with breakfast. It was great and well worth the money.

"Outstanding hotel."
traciemillar, 01 Février 2022

Beautiful location. Very clean throughout. Helpful staff. Spacious rooms. Fabulous views from restaurant. Lovely reception seating area. Toilets extremely clean. Ample parking for visitors. Close to many attractions.

"Great hotel"
ctY4553HQ, 01 Décembre 2021

Ended up here several times, always nice and clean good staff. Food is very good!!!!!! Location is good and rooms are big and spacious. Free parking Big tvs not postage stamp size Wifi What more could you ever want? Would stay again and again.

"Disappointing"
loftyambitions, 25 Novembre 2021

I had reasonably high expectations of this hotel but i should have believed the reviews!! To be honest, not a lot to dislike but at the end of the day (literally), it's all about the bed and the night's sleep. That was it's downfall. The bed was really soft and i woke up in the morning with a sore back. It's clean, the breakfast is ok, the pub serves a decent dinner - it's all quite good but if the bed isn't great, that affects the overall stay.

"stay following surprise wedding party"
sharonaU5391DA, 09 Novembre 2021

We booked to stay overnight at this hot4l as we had booked the restaurant in the hotel (Reeds) for a surprise wedding Party. (no surprise to us as the wedded couple) - however a big surprise to the guests thinking it was a surprise birthday party. The hotel allowed me to check in early to get all the wedding and birthday decorations out of sight before the party at 7. We were informed as guests that there was a party in Reeds until late and there may be noise - we had got a DJ booked; nice to be informed or offers a choice of canceling if we thought it would be an issue. Reeds very kindly decorated for the birthday and then replaced these with the wedding decorations and cake. a brilliant time was had by all - thank you to all the hotel staff and Reeds staff who made the night so enjoyable. In addiotn to keeping it secret from our guests booking to stay the night for the 'birthday party'

"Very Noisy! Little sleep"
Dale2308, 31 Octobre 2021

Had to move room twice due to noise. Very noisy hotel and no refund offered due to a night of no sleep. Avoid if you want to sleep! Hotel check in staff and night staff very apologetic and friendly but could not help the volume of noise from the guests playing dance/ trance music and shouting in their rooms at 2 am.

"Relaxed stay"
lsheppard4, 21 Octobre 2021

Friendly staff very helpful. Relaxed stay. Good food at hotel or restaurant in site. Very clean and tidy room with internet. The location is ideal for the Yorkshire wildlife Zoo and Cannon Hall Farm near Barnsley.

"Stopover on the way north "
Andi G, 17 Octobre 2021

What a find, travelling to North Yorkshire and had a 1 night stopover. The hotel itself is fabulous, clean, beautifully decorated and presented and more very well mannered staff than you would ever need. Over the car park is the Lodge, pub with dining and a function room, also very beautifully set up and very clean. Dined in Reed's restaurant last night, food is very good and very reasonably priced. Our room was very spacious and again spotlessly clean. Very enjoyable night out. Just a note, we work in the hospitality industry and I have previously managed a 72 room hotel, also a Best Western allied property, if I rate it good, believe me it is!

"Lovely Stay."
morticia2021, 15 Octobre 2021

Lovely hotel close to relatives we were visiting. Comfy room. Friendly receptionist. Price to upgrade breakfast £2 more than the difference between continental & cooked. Member of staff seeing us in for breakfast first night a little abrupt & not over friendly.

"Good stay at the Pastures Hotel."
christinemboone, 14 Octobre 2021

Staff were pleasant. Food was good. Bed comfy. The price we paid was very small with the buy a gift voucher. The shower worked well, would have been nice to be able to purchase a newspaper. Or to have details of the nearby nature reserve.

"Fabulous chilled out overnight"
Wendy S, 27 Septembre 2021

Had a lovely break with my dear friend, met half way between our homes. Just 24 hours with a delicious afternoon tea in Reeds, a lovely riverside walk, and a yummy dinner in Pastures Lodge. Just a fabulous chill out catch up - spotting a pair of buzzards just before we left was the icing on the cake!

"Great customer service"
philc6900, 26 Septembre 2021

My wife and I stayed here for one night so I didn't have to drive home after a birthday party. My wife is disabled. The staff here were absolutely brilliant. We had a ground floor spacious double room. The next morning at breakfast we had the buffet breakfast and the staff went put of their way to help my disabled wife. Brilliant customer service!

"Excellent Hotel. Highly recommend."
M8905PUsamanthas, 19 Septembre 2021

Stayed here for 2 nights to visit family. Read a review prior to coming that complained about the hotel restaurant being closed on a sunday, which it was. However there is a lovely pub in the car park that served delicious food. The breakfast was buffet style and the quality of ingredients were top class. Hotel was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly. Will definitely stay here next time we visit.

"lovely clean hotel"
Sally B, 14 Septembre 2021

Lovely hotel near to all amenities. The rooms were modern and very clean. The staff were attentive and breakfast was nice. All in all it was a nice stay and well priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Nice hotel but limited facilities"
JohnnyN0602, 02 Septembre 2021

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but we would have had an even better time if the restaurant and bar had been open every night. They were closed on Sunday and Monday night when we stayed, and the bar shut quite early on the Tuesday, at around 10pm. The rooms was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent.

"Room for improvement on housekeeping"
mikeyk64, 31 Août 2021

Pleasantly surprised on driving up. The rooms were reasonably appointed but started to look dated in design. Just a couple of points. Attached to the wardrobe side at a height and over the luggage rack is the kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. The height and position makes it awkward for those small in stature especially with hot liquids. In our room the shower thermostat even at the lowest position only produced ref hot water. Also the rooms were very warm minimum temperature of 24c even with the windows which aren't large open and the fan provided running. The corridors didn't seem ventilated despite COVID. There were also notable cob webs in the stair wells and the windows leading to the terrace area at the rear. Other wise the service was fine and the breakfast included reasonable.

"Great place"
M0rpheus, 23 Août 2021

We stopped here for a night last week en-route to Whitby. With hindsight we perhaps should have had two nights here! Ok - so Mexborough doesn't immediately inspire the traveller, and this hotel is just on the edge of town, and in a fairly quiet location. We didn't want to drive all the way to the North East as we had a late start, and so we stopped here, and I'm glad we did. There's a large car park to the front, and opposite the hotel is the 'partner' pub / restaurant, which gives guests two eating options. I have to say that our bedroom was one of the nicest we've seen anywhere, and we had an en-suite bathroom that was straight out of 'Ideal Home' - really posh for the dosh and has given my wife some great ideas for the bathroom I'm now going to have to overhaul at home. We had everything needed for a comfortable stay, a very nice tv, good courtesy tray, a fan, extra pillows, an iron, hairdryer...etc. Very well thought out room. Nice public areas, a good bar and restaurant [we used the pub across the car park to eat, which was excellent, good value - big portions]. Staff seemed friendly enough, and so a deserved 5 stars for this place - highly recommended.

"Lovely Place"
Leanne B, 21 Août 2021

Stayed here for 5 nights, lovely place but we did have a couple of small issues! Firstly the rooms are large and have everything you need but the bed, pillows and bedding were blooming awful. These need to be replaced ASAP. The duvet was flat but felt like a lead blanket, it was so heavy! Everytime my husband moved in the night, I felt like I was on a boat in rough weather. It didn't help that I also have vertigo, so every night I got seasick! I'm not even joking!!!!! The breakfast service was a big disappointment! If you're here on business and need to be out before 9am then this will suit you but if you are having a few days of R&R then forget it! You need to be up and down for breakfast before 8am or you'll be left queuing for a table. It only seems to be self service on a weekend. We had to order our cooked breakfast for the first 4 mornings which is ok but I'd prefer to help myself to a whole circle of black pudding and not a half like what they gave me! The two breakfast staff were ok, one was a bit of a stress head and she came across a bit rude. It was too busy for just 2 members of wait on staff because table were not cleaned between each guest. Unfortunately covid times, means we should still be vigilant and they should be at the very least cleaned thoroughly before another guest sits down! However, the pub opposite was a special bonus and we ate there everyday! Just one bad meal there and my advice is don't order the Calzone pizza (truly awful) but everything else was lovely! Will return here again if we're ever in this area in the future!

"Great stay "
Keith C, 09 Août 2021

We were on first staycation after covid cannot fault this hotel , check was easy very friendly . Our room was spotless on arriving we had one at rear overlooking the lawn at the back nice and quiet , everything you'd expect was in room , bed was comfy bathroom had a large shower which was nice , we used Reeds restaurant first night was excellent as was breakfast both mornings Overall excellent experience enjoyed our break very much , good room , great staff lovely place to stay

"Night out"
jessicaarmy93, 09 Août 2021

Very good customer service and yummy food. One down bit is the pictures look different than the actual room which is not good. Really nice place. Could definitely stay there again. Love the fact the hotel has play area too thanks !

"Was incredible!"
sophiethomas2505, 28 Juillet 2021

We chose the Queen Suite, and my goodness was this incredible! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and social distancing display signs and arrows were great! The hotel room, i cannot fault this at all! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was the best bathroom i think i have had at a hotel, and the TV was the perfect size for us to watch from the bed. The only downside of this hotel was the restaurant, the food was over priced for the quality of food, and the breakfast was super salty. The first night we were there we had dinner at the Reeds Restaurant and we did not enjoy it, the next morning we tried their breakfast that was included in the price, and again we didnt enjoy it. For dinner we decided that we were going to go to the restaurant opposite called The Pastures Lodge, and we cannot fault that, it was perfect! And because we didnt want to have the breakfast there the next morning, we actually went and had breakfast at the local Hungry Horse. The hotel was fantastic but the restaurant let it down.

"great place to stop"
mightym29, 26 Juillet 2021

great experience would recommend to anyone, the staff are great and the place is spotless with great food free wifi the rooms have everything you womr uld possibly need to accommodate your needs and the beer garden/outside seating area is great for a quiet drink and you get to see the wild rabbits and birds all in all fantastic

"Good for the price"
656brada, 09 Mai 2021

Hotel and lobby are very nice, room is a bit dated but it's clean and everything works as it should. Reception and other staff are very friendly though as it was late we were checked in by the Porter who should not be customer facing as we had an issue to be met with him stomping around reception swearing and telling us how best western always f*** it up, not professional at all !

"An excellent choice"
harrodinio, 31 Mars 2021

A very nice, modern hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and good facilities overall. The staff were very accommodating, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend for visits or pleasure.

"Midweek business stay"
martincruise2017, 03 Décembre 2020

Can't rate this hotel highly enough. Excellent facility and great staff working hard during Covid restrictions. Super location with lovely walks from the hotel which is situated next to a canal and close to excellent cycle routes.

"Excellent weekend away"

Fantastic hotel easy to get to, short trip to local cities and villages ,we went to doncaster city centre ,excellent and friendly staff ,room and food superb ,definitely will book again and definitely recommend to anyone

"Wonderful Stay"
Julie M, 12 Septembre 2020

We've recently had a 2 night break at this fabulous hotel. We were greeted by Michele who was so friendly & couldn't do enough for us. We were very pleased with our large room & amenities. We had one evening meal at the pub which is opposite the hotel & on our last night we ate in the Reeds restaurant within the hotel both meals were excellent with wonderful & helpful staff. The breakfasts which were served in the restaurant both the Continental & full English were of excellent quality. A big thanks to Luke who manages the restaurant..you do an amazing job. Also to staff members Helen & Gabby who looked after us. Thank you & see you all soon.

"Nice location but cold rooms"
Shazi X, 09 Septembre 2020

My husband & I stayed here for a midweek break. The hotel has amazing views and is in a picturesque setting. It also has a restaurant within the hotel and 1 very close by too. The decor is somewhat dated and in my view, could be updated but nonetheless, rooms and surroundings are clean. We would have enjoyed this stay much more had the rooms been warm. We informed the reception staff 3 or 4 times our heating was not working but nothing was done. I had to end up jumping in bed with socks on and felt a bit low due to the low temp in the room. Nice hotel but I wish the heating was working!

"A short break, not too far from home."
BessyDog, 06 Septembre 2020

We were wanting a short break away from the daily routine, but not too far away from home so we chose this hotel as we could go for local walks along the river and surrounding areas without having to be in highly populated places, due to the Covid threat. The hotel is clean and welcoming from the outside, with a large car park. Next door to another place with restaurant and kids outdoor activity area, pastures lodge. On arrival our check in was swift and efficient and and we were asked to fill in a sheet with our breakfast requirements again a covid-19 requirement. Our room was spacious and modern, with a reasonably large smart TV on the wall, tea and coffee making facilities, and a nice bathroom with sliding door shower all clean. The room had a nice comfortable king size bed a closed wardrobe, dressing table, two seats and plenty of power points, still lacking in a few hotels. Unusually for us we did not visit many attractions in the area, as with the strange times we are living in we did not like to be in close proximity to too many people. However there were plenty of walks down by rivers and canals and there was also so a wetland area close by also a few English heritage properties close by. We enjoyed our visit very much as we have not been away since last February and would recommend the hotel.

"Two Night Stay"
915sandrat, 27 Août 2020

We were visiting family, stayed Tuesday night, Breakfast booked very nice, served by waitress as they have stopped Buffet style for the time being due to Covid. Stayed Wednesday Night left after Breakfast Thursday Morning. The Hotel followed all Covid Rules, all areas spotlessly clean. Staff very nice and helpful. The Menu had a good choice, we had Dinner there both nights. We would certainly use this hotel again. Our Bed was very soft and we usually sleep on a hard mattress but for two nights this was not a problem. I would recommend this Hotel and we would definitely stay there again later in the year.

"Great stay"
detectivecolumbo, 25 Août 2020

My girlfriend and I were visiting some friends locally and stayed for one night. The rooms were big, bed comfortable and staff polite. We didn't eat or drink in the hotel bar/restaurant but visited the Lodge that's within the hotel grounds. Again it was big, food good and beer cold. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and for this hotel it's certainly true. I'd happily stay again.

"Had we found the last episode of Fawlty Towers being made?"
Ray W, 14 Août 2020

A welcome (not) by the night porter who gave us a room key then after a while there was a knock on the door to say that we were in the wrong room as it was allocated to someone else. Sorted out then minutes later the phone rang and the same scenario was put to us again. Having had enough by then and thinking that there were secret cameras filming our reaction or was it a remake episode of Fawlty Towers? Went to the reception to calmly listen and see what was going on then returned to our room. Hurray no more interruptions. It was then that dozens of flies had entered the room by an open window so spent ages getting rid of them. Turns out there is a river nearby and the hotel had spotlights attracting them. In the morning checked with the lady on reception to be told that the Night Porter could have sorted this out easily. We then had continental breakfast served by the lovely Helen who looked after us on both mornings. Helen was customer service 10/10. The lady on reception was also helpful (sorry that I cannot remember your name) and she apologised. We pride ourselves on giving honest and factual reviews, good, the bad and the downright awful. No one knows who we are and that's how it should remain. Just provide great customer service please to everyone. Having watched the TV series on Best Western Hotels which did not portray them in a good professional way I would think twice about staying with them again. Sorry - Ray & Linda

"First visit was great"
Garry s, 11 Mars 2020

Only stayed one night, as on business locally. This is a nice hotel with great attentive staff from the ladies on reception to the lasses in the restaurant . The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean with good size bathroom. The shower was great with large shower head. There was also plenty of tea and and coffee present. The wifi was really good in all locations. The restaurant menu was a bit basic but the food was tasty and plenty of it. As was the breakfast with plenty of choice. I would definitely stay again when next in area.

"Pastures visit Feb 2020"
scsusieclark8, 05 Février 2020

Very good stay once again at the Pastures. The staff are always very friendly and courteous and willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The only thing that I would gripe about was that the mattress was too soft in our room and we've had a double with no complaint in this regard previously.

"Over night stay"
Paul C, 21 Décembre 2019

Stayed just one night so that my wife and I could attend a Christmas function in the nearby Pastures Lodge pub. The hotel was excellent. Our double room was a good size, spotlessly clean and comfortable. For the price, we could not fault it. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

"a hidden secret fro lunch with easy access to the Doncaster area A1"
Lynn W, 11 Décembre 2019

Overnight stay was perfect following a Xmas lunch event which was amazing. Everyone commented on how lovely all the food was. Service was impeccable with hot plates and hot food. Well cooked and well presented. We will be booking again next year

"Good weekend"
enid58, 25 Novembre 2019

Very good hotel, not far from the A1.Very clean and comftable. all staff very helful and freindly.Nice pub near by with good food and good value. We were on the first floor and didn't here much movement even though there seemed plenty of people there.

"Good Value Stay, Great Breakfast."
paul_9992018, 25 Novembre 2019

Good Value Sunday Night deal. Check in very straightforward. Tea and coffee making facility all good in room, hot chocolate and Biscuits as well. Very clean and tidy, Bathroom and Shower both good. Alarm Clock in Room, safe was also a bonus, even a box of tissues in Room. Radiator heated up very quickly. Breakfast was excellent, top drawer fresh Full English. Free Wi-Fi worked well. Free car parking facilities with plenty of spaces. Situated right next to the River. 2 minute walk to nearest Pub Restaurant.

"Couldn't fault it"
iamthebigdeal, 24 Novembre 2019

We did an overnight here and couldn't fault it, nice location, nice building, good size family room with decent beds, nice breakfast and really friendly staff, would use again without question. We eat dinner in the restaurant next door and that was good as well.

"Can't fault it "
magpie007, 16 Novembre 2019

Staff were very friendly and helpful. From the offset. I requested a slightly later check out time which they were able to accommodate. Room was clean and tidy and very comfortable. I stayed in the queen suit which has a lovely bathroom and comfortable 4 poster bed. Great value for money. Room service was food was lovely and there is a nice pub just across the car park if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Ample car parking on site.

"Standard stuff"
Mercman111, 15 Novembre 2019

This hotel will neither impress or dissapoint, it will simply envelope you in it's blandness. Large car park directly outside the hotel. Try not to get room 41. It is beside the stairs, and therefore you can constantly hear the double doors at the top of the stairs being opened and shut. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Good buffet breakfast.

"Business as usual"
T3332NDmark, 10 Novembre 2019

This hotel is perfect for all my business needs in this location. All of the staff are unequalled by any other accomodation I have ever used. I just wish there were more rooms with baths :) Other than that it is hard to find fault. From the greeting on reception, through to the bar staff in the adjoining restaurant and the wonderful breakfast staff, and back to the check out staff - all just so . . . right.

"Family Reunion"
MrsR309, 30 Octobre 2019

We booked here as got a brilliant deal for two nights including breakfast. We had 3 rooms booked, all together and not too far to walk. We had our baby with us and still had room with the travel cot in there. Beds are comfy, bathroom is modern and spacious. Breakfast the 2 mornings was delicious, a good selection of cereals and the hot food was a good selection. The cleaners knocked and left us fresh towels, and topped up our tea and coffee which was nice. The only downside was by the Sunday morning the vending machine was pretty empty of drinks.

"Don't stop. Keep driving...."
Limehousegourmet, 23 Octobre 2019

The hotel has a nice look to it from outside but it starts to fall apart once you check in. The restaurant is a bit limited for breakfast and for evenings.....if there more than a few tables then the service is disappointingly ultra slow. The serving staff are quite dismissive of customers as almost an encumbrance rather than a revenue opportunity. My first and absolutely my last visit.

"Trip to South Yorkshire"
Anthony S, 20 Octobre 2019

We stayed for a couple of nights. Didn't use the restaurant, but the bed was firm and comfortable, the hotel was quiet, despite there being a wedding on the Saturday night. We went to Sheffield by train and then visited Nostell Priory the following day. The room was lovely as were the staff, thanks

"Lovely stay"
zenonwozniak, 04 Octobre 2019

We have stayed at pastures twice and both times we had a lovely stay, the staff are very nice and helpful and the food is very nice at both the hotel and the lodge opposite. We will definitely return very good value for money, nice rooms with smart TVs.

"Bit of both"
basildongirl, 30 Septembre 2019

First hotel rooms and staff can't be faulted they really were perfect.. But this was a anniversary treat, to discover the bar and restaurant was closed on the Saturday was a huge blow.. the pub over the road was like a Wetherspoons , could hardly move , couldn't get served so ended up being hungry and had a rotten anniversary

"Wedding stopover"
Spmorley30, 22 Septembre 2019

Stayed for 2 nights as my sister was getting married and reception was at the hotel, received excellent service and the meal and wedding reception were superb. Would highly recommend this hotel. Special thanks to the lady at breakfast who made a go out breakfast for my plus 1 who had not yet arrived and lucy in the pub across the way, very professional

"Avoid "
JimUtd, 16 Septembre 2019

So the positives. Staff were very helpful, polite, especially the front desk and at breakfast. They sorted us a taxi when we couldn't find one. Breakfast was very good, nice hot buffet range plus breads, cereals, yoghurts, fruit. Now to the negatives. The room. Our double bed was 2 single beds pushed together but unfortunately not linked properly as the picture shows. I managed to catch my foot on this. The beds were rock hard as were the pillows and this did not make for a comfortable nights sleep. The shower was a power shower that was boiling hot whatever temperature setting you had it on. We spent ages trying to figure it out before giving up, although we did report it to reception. Storage space was fine, iron good, safe and tea/coffee in the room was ok. Tv has a big horizontal scratch all the way across it. We won't stop there again. £109 with breakfast for two.

"Exceptional hotel"
haychiebabe1, 12 Septembre 2019

Great hotel, lovely staff! The hotel exceeded our expectations. On arrival, the look of the hotel was fantastic! The reception was nice, the staff were very lovely and helpful. The room was very thought out! It had everything and more of what you'd expect. Lots of room to relax.

"One happy lady"
lindsayholman, 02 Septembre 2019

A lovely clean, friendly hotel. The dining was superb, with a great selection of well cooked food, which was very nicely presented. The portions were very generous. The breakfast too was great with a large choice of fresh of ingredients.

"Pleasant and Reasonable Price"
Silvascoop, 23 Août 2019

Stayed here for two nights in early August and found it very reasonable. I'm starting to prefer the Best Western hotels to Marriott, as the difference is now less pronounced as Best Western modernise. The cost difference is not massive, but IMHO, does offer better value. The Pastures is being upgraded in stages and it's worth asking for an upgraded room, they really are much nicer. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including ironing board and iron! My daughters room was not quite as good, in need of a makeover. Breakfast was buffet style and was delicious with the usual offerings. Staff were very helpful and pleasant local ladies who didn't mind a bit of a chat. The evening meals were nice, hotel food at reasonable cost. Not fine dining, but perfectly acceptable and well served by the attentive staff. Would stay again for sure.

"Lovely hotel room, bath hadn't been cleaned."
maddielovestravels, 16 Août 2019

Really lovely hotel room with four poster bed, sofa & the usual ‘nice-hotel' conveniences such as towelling bathrobes, toiletries, tea-making facilities & a fridge. Bathroom in the Fitzwilliam Suite is gorgeous & has a jacuzzi jet bath...but on this visit, it was dirty. It had quite obviously not been washed by housekeeping after the last guests had used it.The night porter we spoke to about it said he couldn't do anything about it & didn't even offer to come up and take a look. I ended up taking photos & then washing the bath myself with a face-cloth just so we could use it. The morning staff said they would have a word with housekeeping and agreed that the night porter should have at least checked it out. It's a shame, really- I have stayed in that hotel before and enjoyed it. The jacuzzi bath is my absolute favourite thing about the place, so it's a great pity that it wasn't clean. You need to be early for breakfast & dinner, at least on weekdays! Breakfast finishes at 9:15am on weekdays, which is fine if you're on business, I guess, but less comfortable when you're on holiday.

"Wonderful "

We had an enjoyable 2 night stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The resturant was clean and the food was tasty. The only comment to make is that smokers tend to congregate outside the front door, where everyone has to walk through. The lodge which is next door had a Queen Tribute show on which was very good.

Just returned from a family weekend break and I must say the hotel was lovely, stunning grounds and views and we will definitely return. The staff were very helpful in the main hotel especially Janet the the lovely lady on reception ( who went out of her way to find me another fan for our room in this extreme heat ) always friendly and helpful. Then there was Lewis the bar manager , absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him and he went out of his way to make sure our stay was perfect, even running across to the hotel pub to bring our daughters ice cream when the main restaurant had ran out ( above and beyond his duties but a big thank you) Also thank you to the lovely gentleman who stayed late each night till everyone left the bar area so he could prepare for the next morning, to the lovely ladies who greeted us for breakfast and always found time to chat and make us feel very welcome. All In all a lovely hotel, fab staff and definitely worth a visit .

"Comfortable stay"
jmarti139018, 15 Juillet 2019

Stayed in the Rockingham suite and was very pleased with the standard. The bathroom was amazing. The hotel looks very appealing on approach. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice. Also a lovely pub Pasture Lodge in the grounds serving very good food. Would definitely stay again.

"Really needs a refurb!...again!"
Jessica B, 12 Juillet 2019

I have stayed here twice now for work and I won't be booking again. The breakfast is poor and the beds are not comfortable. The first time I stayed the mattress was so hard I had to fold my double duvet in half, sleep on top of one half and cover myself up with the other. The second time I stayed recently and the mattress was too soft and the pillows were flat. The bathroom STUNK of drains and the rooms just feel cheap.

"Very pleasant stay"
roghack, 09 Juillet 2019

The reason that we have given 4 stars was that the shower did not work properly and a bad smell from the bathroom sink. Apart from that the standard of the rest of the hotel is very good and the staff go out of their way to help with any requests

"Xmas gift"
S8MYlisab, 04 Juillet 2019

Was given for christmas a red letter gift of a 2 night stay . The choice wasnt great but we decided to book the pastures. What a lovely find...there was no shops around so we literally chilled. Took a walk along the canal, stopped had a drink, walked back to hotel and chilled. The big tv on the wall is great especially as you can go onto Netflix, now etc. Clean, not just tea coffee there was hot chocolate, you can open the windows fully. A little gem if you need a weekend so you can both chill

"Good value"
Olicanan, 03 Juillet 2019

Cost less than a Travelodge and is much nicer. That said, the wifi didn't work, in the shower I could get either scalding hot or freezing cold water, nothing in between, and I couldn't leave the window open when I wasn't in the room, or asleep, because they can be opened fully from the outside and be climbed in through. Staff were obliging and the breakfast was good. Had a really good meal at the attached Pastures Lodge pub (but the beer was awful)

"Good for business trips"
milo101, 02 Juillet 2019

Stayed at this hotel for a business meeting. Spacious modern rooms with coffee facilities. Good shower. Good restaurant in hotel - enjoyed the Seabass and the lamb cutlets. Free Wi-fi. Only negative - no gym. Breakfast nothing special- very basic buffet. Reception staff were all very friendly, as well as the evening barmen.

"good value for money"
fcsandy, 01 Juillet 2019

We stayed here recently for the price of a Travelodge hotel and there is no comparison. Unfortunately not all Best Western Hotels are this price. We found the room, a basic double, was a good size, clean, walk in shower, usual kettle and with a large tv with sports channels and a safe. The hotel in room folder also advises that you can use the local leisure facilities free of charge, but we were not aware of this before hand so had no swim wear. In-house restaurant for breakfasts, and other meals in required, called Reads seemed good as well, the breakfast choices were varied and stocked. If traveling to Doncaster area we would check this hotel out first. There is plenty of parking and a pub/restaurant also on the complex with wide variety of food.

"Good basic hotel"
Jena39, 25 Juin 2019

Friendly, efficient check in. Our room was ok. Had all the promised amenities though wifi was slow. The lift to get to first floor was a bit old and jerky so only tried it once. Breakfast menu had all the usual, good bacon and eggs but sausages and black pudding less impressive. Gluten free toast produced on request with no problems. Coffee was very good but tea a bit disappointing

"A hidden gem."
steve a, 16 Juin 2019

After a few left and right turns through the area, we found the hotel. Pulled up on Sunday, so the bar and in house restarunat were closed (Dissapointing). Went across the round to the local pub and found another gem. Food was great but is very busy. Room and ammentiies are very good. Breakfast if filling and plentyful. On return trip bar and restaurnat were open and these were well worth the visit.

"You get what you pay for"
276tonyo, 11 Juin 2019

Very basic hotel - clean enough. Don't expect anything beyond basics.....tried to get a coffee and was told I could but only after 6pm. Food in the restaurant is ok but limited enough choice. Staff friendly enough but couldn't say service was top of their priorities.

"Fantastic hotel"
GizzyL, 03 Juin 2019

Booked a weekend away for just the two of us, from the moment we arrived everyone was lovely, the room was clean, tidy and spacious. But the best bit was eating breakfast watching the baby rabbits was wonderful.

"pasture lodge"
EnSiEm, 30 Mai 2019

The hotel is very clean, staff is very helpful and friendly. Good selection on full English breakfast but not much on continental but otherwise breakfast is really good. Great location, was surprised to see a canal just behind the hotel, Enjoyed our walks. Would have been lovely to have the free dinner on site, but the other restaurant is just across the car park.

"Do it - you will not regret"
Leroquoz, 29 Mai 2019

I get nervous when I see best western in the name - can be a bit tired in my experience Fear not - This is a classy place with big rooms quality fittings and a feeling of a “little bit special” Nice big tv and ironing table iron in the room - good desk area with high performing WiFi . Across the car park is a great restaurant in the style of “harvester / hungry horse/beefeater It was great value for money and really quick service although busy and I was impressed Barbecue chicken breast with bacon and melted cheese - chips- coleslaw and peas £10.50 Stella £4.25 Breakfast was good with everything you would normally expect and friendly service I will use if in this area again

"Lovely hotel"
MancMum62, 27 Mai 2019

I stayed here for one night with my parents so we could meet old friends. Our rooms were lovely - big beds, lots of pillows, nice walk in shower. The location is really pretty next to the canal. I ran to Old Denaby and saw bluebells and hawthorn, and lots of birds.

"Excellent"
Rosalind A, 27 Mai 2019

Staff brilliant, couldn't do enough for us. Food great and plentiful. Price great. Room spacious and very clean. Wifi good. Was booked up when we were there but no noise at nights so slept very well. Will definitely stay again.

"Nice Hotel"
Robert G, 06 Mai 2019

Very nice hotel, even had a smart TV in your room with sky sports. Food excellent and clean and modern rooms. Not too far to the centre of Docaster. Car park was easy enough to get in and out. Staff were very attentive.

"Simply the Best"
mdmorris118, 04 Mai 2019

The best ever - everything perfect - facilities, food and particularly the friendly and efficient staff. This is the best hotel that we have stayed in in the UK :-) A modern hotel sited in an easy to find area.

"Short Break "
Nichode, 16 Avril 2019

We stayed here for three nights, the hotel is lovely and the staff very friendly. The location is good and the canal behind is a nice walk. We ate in the hotel twice and the food was good and reasonably priced, we also ate in the pub opposite and the food was very good. This hotel is very reasonably priced and we would definitely stay here again.

"Great weekend away"
darren2767, 15 Avril 2019

Was given a buyagift for Christmas and chose this hotel as it was in a good location and looked faorly new Had a fantastic weekend with the bonus that the hotel had a Cher tribute on which was excellent . Rooms were clean and well equipped.

"Thoroughly impressed with this place!"
Ryan M, 30 Mars 2019

Stayed for a night here, brand new build and spotless everywhere. Smart TV in the room with Netflix and Amazon movies, never seen this in a hotel at this price. Gastro pub opposite is ridiculously cheap considering the great quality of the food. Really nice canal alongside, perfect for an after dinner walk. Love love loved it there. Actually drove 30 minutes out of my way to go back later in the week! You will not be disappointed. Try the connoisseurs seafood platter...awesome

"Quiet hotel in South Yorkshire."
nigejus, 24 Mars 2019

The Best Western in Mexborough is set in peaceful surroundings located just outside Mexborough by a quiet canal. The staff were very welcoming as we arrived for our 2 night stay with a quick check in. Our room, number 37, was overlooking the back of the hotel facing fields and the canal. The room was spacious with a double bed, flatscreen TV, a desk and 2 easy chairs. The bathroom was a large shower but no bath. It also has a safe to look after all your expensive belongings and coffee/tea making facilities which were replaced daily. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast included was continental but you could pay extra to upgrade to a cook breakfast should you wish. The staff at breakfast always were keen to keep you happy by topping up your drinks etc. and we're very attentive to our needs. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evenings as opposite the hotel sharing the same large car park was a local pub which served amazingly large meals for a very competitive price. Back to the hotel it is ideal for anyone wanting to spend a couple of days exploring South Yorkshire or just as an overnight stopover for someone travelling up and down the country. Definitely a little gem only 40 minutes from where we live and will definately use again. Thank you Best Western for a lovely two night stay.

"Outstanding Hotel- booked with buy a gift"
699rachelf, 18 Mars 2019

We booked 2 x rooms for us and friends using buy a gift vouchers. We were checked in promptly and efficiently to two beautiful rooms- both clean, well equipped and quiet. we stayed for 2 nights and received exceptional service from all staff members we encountered. Continental breakfast was included with our stay but for just £5 we upgraded to full- it was all hot, refreshed regularly and of good standard.

"Lovely hotel"
Curiosity60243650002, 15 Mars 2019

This hotel is a lovely looking hotel, in a nice quiet setting. For the most part the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub nearby was very nice, with a good menu selection. The only negative part of the stay was that the Jacuzzi bath kept cutting out and the receptionist on check out wasn't particularly helpful. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Buy a gift fiasco"
IainShaddick, 04 Mars 2019

What an absolute farce. Firstly trying to make the booking using the voucher scheme took about 5 phone calls to sort. When we arrived we were told we only had one evening meal though our vouchers said two. This was not sorted till day two. Then we received conflicting messages which of two restaurants we could use the vouchers. We had full breakfast each day only to be told the last morning it was continental only. After all that the hotel wasn't very special - very bland. My advice gift this hotel and buy a gift a wide berth!!!!

"Great place to stay"
Meander45347114275, 04 Février 2019

Great hotel, great food and amazing staff. We had the cooked breakfast each day and it was loverly, evening meals were cooked to perfection. I had a work coleague with me from Czeck and he said that it was by far the best hotel that he has stayed in in the UK. We could not fault anything and when visiting customers in this area we will definately be returning customers.

"New Years eve"
nina c, 15 Janvier 2019

Lovely stay with family New Year's Eve. Breakfast very nice. Staff very helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee in rooms. Would recommend this hotel. They have some lovely events planned throughout 2029, which my family and friends are planning on attending and staying at the hotel.

"New Years Eve Stay"
Markcaine-grierson, 01 Janvier 2019

Stayed here again for the 5th year in a row New Years Eve. The pastures hotel never fails, efficient check in from friendly staff stayed in room 29 which had a large kingsize bed and very comfortable chairs. Recently decorated to a very high standard.Spacious bathrooms with a great shower. Food in the restaurant at Reeds was excellent. Another great star. Thanks to Janet and her team for a great start to the new year.

"Booked in for New Year's Eve, excellent choice."
grtRotherham, 01 Janvier 2019

Well what can I say.....excellent. The service and Staff were brilliant with us especially the night Porter putting up with us untill 4am. Thought the bar bill would be quite high the next morning but we were pleasantly surprised specially has it was New Year's Eve. Good choice behind the bar and the breakfast was lovely. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Big shout out to Janet on reception, she was lovely. Stopped in room 30, definately recomend it. The decor is lovely, massive comfy bed and the en suite was very well presented. Lots of little extra's.....iron, hairdryer, bath robes. Loved it and thank you for making our stay very easy.

"Pastures Hotel"

An excellent stay! Enjoyed super service and facilities. Nothing was too much trouble. Would strongly recommend to family and friends. Comfortable room and bed. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was particularly impressive.

"Great hotel"
John S, 09 Décembre 2018

Stayed at the hotel asni was working in the local area. On arrival i found the hotel easily and that it had a good sized car park. The receptionist was quick and professional. And the reception area was welcoming and clean. My room was of a very good standard and the bed comfortable. The meal i had was of a decent size and quality for a really good price. Breakfast choice was good and started early which i liked.

"Could have been 5 star but poor quality bed"
Stephen M, 21 Novembre 2018

Such a shame! Nice hotel friendly staff, food above average for this level of hotel. Room large and very clean and bathroom superb. However mattress was so soft and saggy it prevented a good sleep...all I can say to hotel is learn from premier inns ...not so good hotels but much higher quality mattresses!

"Good stay"
David W, 15 Novembre 2018

Room clean,Could do with a update.Bed Comfortable and location quiet.plenty of parking. Not much within walking distance Staff efficient and friendly enough .Food in restaurant was very good.Breakfast was buffet and was warm.Would stay again

"Very Good"
108JasonR, 12 Novembre 2018

I stayed her with my wife and Daughter for one night over a weekend. I called in advance of us arriving to see if our check-in was available, it was only 12pm but we were advised the room would be ready. The room was ready, the reception and check-in process was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on this aspect but it seemed really busy, there is the Pastures pub across the car park too which serves food and that also appeared popular. Overall great value for money.

"two short stays - would definitely come back"
jom2345, 11 Novembre 2018

Quiet location, fantastic friendly staff on reception and in the restaurant. Food was good. Room spacious, clean, tea & coffee, usb charging points, real hairdryer, great shower. Pub/restaurant across carpark is very busy, very reasonably priced, swift service.

"Good for a one night stay! "
mrsmccotter, 02 Novembre 2018

It's one of the better best westerns I've stayed in! And good value hence the rating! Rooms clean, WiFi good, no air conditioning (windows can be open though) Very friendly staff. Breakfast basic but good, fresh ordered porridge was delicious! Dinner the previous night was delicious! Ideal a night for work or base at great value!

"A very pleasant stay"
fypunky, 23 Octobre 2018

We (family of four) booked a family room as we were attending a 60th in Mexborough. The check in was friendly and efficient in this very modern hotel. The room itself was spacious with a king size bed and two singles with plenty of room to move around in, the room was also spotless. The shower/ toilet was very clean, the shower had a main overhead type and an additional one that you could pull out. Our nights sleep was very good, the bed was very comfortable and even tho we faced the car park we didnt hear a sound all night. Breakfast time and we was shown to our table and asked what drinks we would like, the breakfast was self service and plenty of choice, fruit juices were available along with cerial and fruit etc, the cooked breakfast had the usual bacon, sausage, black pudding etc and all was very hot and well cooked. Overall this was a very pleasent stay and we would book again the next time we visited the realtives.

"Lovely hotel for the price"
Denise W, 15 Octobre 2018

We had an overnight stay at this hotel with two rooms booked and both of them were lovely. They were very clean & tidy and the beds were comfortable, although the one in the adult room was a bit lumpy, but not uncomfortable. It was well organised and the staff were friendly & very helpful. The only gripe I have is that in the room when we arrived there was only enough tea/coffee/milk & sugar to make one drink each because we arrived quite late and needed a drink in the room before we set off for dinner. It could have done with providing enough to cover the next morning as well without having to ask at Reception for more supplies in the evening so we could get an early morning drink while we got ready for breakfast & to leave. Apart from that it was a great location, well kept & clean & tidy and the price was surprisingly good for the level of accommodation on offer, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it also

"Good location for Yorkshire wildlife Park"
Gemma B, 15 Octobre 2018

We stayed here the end of August for 2 nights, we were visiting Yorkshire wildlife park so was ideal location. The hotel was very average, the breakfast offered was of good standard and you had a fair selection. The service was good though, but then there did seem to be quite a number of staff for breakfast service, most of which were standing around. The room had everything you would need but I wouldn't say it was decorated to high standard, the bathroom was very nice though. We got put in a link room, which was not nice at all and to be honest I wish I had asked to be moved as you could hear every word the person said in the adjoining room! On the second night of our stay this became a problem as the couple next door had a massive row and was banging and shouting loudly into the early hours. I looked on the phone to see if there was a reception button and couldn't find one and I wasn't walking down to the reception to tell them in the middle of the night. I don't really like to complain but thought I would mention this on checkout as part of a hotels purpose after all is for you to get a good nights sleep and we ended up being awake half the night. I know this is not the hotels fault, but I would have thought that upon mentioning this to a member of staff I would have received a bit more than "yeah someone else complained about that too, sorry!" On that count it left a bit of a bitter taste to what was a nice weekend away. Would I stay at this hotel again if in the area, no would be my answer, I think for a fraction more you can stay in a premier inn and I would say they are better for a run of the mill B&B type establishment.

"Overnight stay"
LondonEmily92, 14 Octobre 2018

Check-in here was quick and friendly. The rooms were clean, well decorated and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, with plenty of choice and the staff looked after us all well. I would definitely stay here again as it's a great place to stay.

"Another good nights sleep - beats private hotels by miles"
Elsie W, 11 Octobre 2018

There is a lot to be said for staying in the big chain hotels more upmarket than TL or PI with all the facilities and well trained english speaking staff, the room was great. Not right in town with a pleasant walk by the Don. Plenty of free parking, clean modern and functioning. There is a pub - persumably part of the group, which is huge - we opted to eat in the hotel which was excellentish and well priced - though slow, they said they were busy - more understaffed.

"ALWAYS GOOD"
David C, 08 Octobre 2018

Another enjoyable visit to the Pastures and the adjacent Reeds pub. Spacious comfortable rooms, all in good order. Staff helpful and obliging. Food good value at Reeds. Good breakfast with buffet type service. Recommended

Great friendly Receptionists and freindly staff that are always helpfull. I have been staying here for weeks and i have been happy with my stay. Food is great and plenty to choose from. Nice clean hotel and would certainly recommend it to others. Thanks

"Good stay"
middywinter, 09 Septembre 2018

We've just been for the weekend , a lovely clean room only downside a bit noisy when people walk past late at night and doors banging. We were surprised that when we arrived the bar wasn't open and were told we could go across the road, we didn't bother, the food was very good and the waiting staff very polite and friendly and I did like that they cleared the tables quickly. We would definitely return here if in the area.

"First visit"
437barry, 04 Septembre 2018

Visited this hotel to attend evening wedding celebration we stayed overnight bed and breakfast. The reception on arrival friendly we were given advice on where breakfast was served and the times and allocated our room which over looked the car park this fine not noisy at all the room was very clean smallish but good décor bathroom had nice large shower area and the usual other amenities. Tea and coffee making facilities and some nice biscuits to enjoy with your coffee/tea. The wedding celebration was held across the car park next to the pastures pub so no disturbance for the hotel guests. The buffet food was fresh and of a good quality the beef sandwiches were tasty and the beef tender melted in the mouth. Breakfast on the Sunday morning nice friendly greeting shown to our table explained the buffet breakfast. I have to say one of the best if not the best hotel breakfast we have come across the food was fresh good quality not too much put out at once but refilled quickly when need all the restaurant staff were friendly and tea and coffee were refilled constantly as you required. We only stayed overnight but found nothing to complain about all the staff we came into contact with were cheerful and friendly would definitely stay again if in the area and would recommend the hotel to anyone for the price, customer service and cleanliness on offer at this hotel.

"Two night Stay"
Westerleigh, 28 Août 2018

We stayed for two nights Bed and Breakfast while visiting places in South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We found this hotel very much to our liking. Our room was much larger than we were expecting. The bed was really comfortable so we had two good nights' sleep. We asked for a quiet room on the 1st floor. It was at the back of the hotel and was so quiet we had the window ajar all night which kept the room cooler and never heard a sound! There was plenty of storage space, good lighting (which is often awfully dim in hotel rooms), and two easy chairs. The only slight niggle about the en suite was that the shower only had a fixed overhead shower head rather than a hand held shower head with flexible hose which we prefer. The buffet breakfast was much better than average, everything you could want really within reason, the fruit and yogurt was particularly good and the help yourself cooked breakfast was excellent. Check-in and out was quick and the gentleman and lady were friendly and helpful. We ate both evenings in the Pasture Lodge Pub opposite which was fine, though as is often the case these days, the portions were very large, we could have shared the fish pie and then had room for a dessert! After the evening meal we had a walk alongside the large canal at the rear of the hotel to the lock (turn left through the gate onto the canal side path) which finished off the day nicely. All in all a good experience and we would definitely go back if we are ever in the area again.

"Enjoyed our stay, very helpful staff"
montyBerkshire, 27 Août 2018

Visiting family locally, have visited the pub a few years ago, didn't realise there was a hotel attached. Lovely hotel, staff very helpful, comfy beds and great shower, had the buffet breakfast which was plentiful and tasted great, you can order eggs as you want, staff very experienced and very helpful. Ate in the pub in the evening and we met up with rest of family that live locally food was varied and delicious. Will be using again.

"Weekend break"
John S, 26 Août 2018

Just got back from a 2 night break at this top hotel. Arrived Friday evening and dropped our luggage off at the room and headed over to The Pastures Pub for something to eat. Reading the reviews beforehand, we were a little worried what we were going to be eating. The food arrived. Good value and quick service, even though it was really busy and the food was out of this world. Got back to the room and had a nice quiet restful nights sleep. The next morning my wife had a shower but the temperature was far too hot and could not be altered, so as we went down for breakfast I mentioned it to the lady on Reception, who advised she would have someone look at it. Whilst eating breakfast (beautiful) the Receptionist attended our table and advised we could move to another room. She even offered to move our luggage. We declined the offer and moved the luggage ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised that we had been upgraded to a Premium Room. The room was amazing. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent hotel with lovely staff . Room was plush and really comfortable. Bar and restaurant great. nice meal and good breakfast. lovely spot by river with nice view's and walks. Definitely will go back

"Great hotel"
jrpc35, 23 Août 2018

We recently visited this hotel on a 2 night package from Buy a Gift. We chose it as we were attending a race meeting at Doncaster. Hotel appears new although on check out were informed that parts are 16 years old!. Room was clean and comfortable though the bathroom does get hot as it's internal although weather was really warm were glad of the fan supplied in wardrobe. We were on the ground floor at rear of hotel which just backs onto the canal so was really quiet even on the first night when there was a wedding taking place. Deal included continental breakfast, could have upgraded for £5 each but didn't bother. We ate in the Pastures Lodge pub across the car park where food was lovely but neither of us managed to finish a meal as the portions were so large! Would recommend booking a table as it does get busy especially Saturday nights. You can access the canal from the hotel grounds if you want a short peaceful stroll after dinner. All in all a great stay and would certainly visit again

"Nice hotel"
Sualic182, 21 Août 2018

Stayed here for the weekend to go to races. Rooms quite big, beds comfortable, nice bathrooms, usual chain hotel decor. Breakfast was good and food at pastures lodge across the car park was ok. Plenty of car parking. Didn't eat at restaurant in hotel due to a wedding. Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Check in and out straightforward. Only downside was rooms very warm and with windows open there was noise from smokers standing at the front of the hotel until fairly late.

"Nice hotel, reasonably priced."
Rickandlisa999, 21 Août 2018

We stayed here while attending the races at Doncaster and had one evening B&B. The hotel is a few miles away from the course, and was £10 in a taxi. There was a weeding taking place on the evening, which took over most of the ground floor, we chose to have a few drinks in the reception area, and this was fine. The room was OK, although it was quite warm as there was no air con, it was also quite noisy as a number of guests were shouting whilst making their way to bed. I guess there is not a lot the hotel can do about this! Breakfast was really nice, and the staff were very helpful. We would stay here again if in the area.

"Very well managed, smart modern hotel on the trans Pennine trail."
Baly50, 11 Août 2018

Very pleasant place to stay over on the trans pennine trail. From here heading west the trail raises until the Woodhead Pass - so useful post to stop and 'regroup'. Room was adequate size, very clean and tidy. Staff helpful. The food pub across the car park was ok if you are hungry - if I was staying with a car would explore other options - but the hotel itself was well managed and comfortable.

"Good value, pleasant stay, and not pet friendly - all good"
Trevor K, 09 Août 2018

This is a modern building but is decorated inside in quite a formal style - which works well in the public areas but is a touch depressing in the room. However, Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. My wife and I stayed in room 1, which was clean (though there were two large spiders). Food was available in the restaurant - and both our main course orders were of a high standard (no starter). Rooms seem to have very small windows - OK to keep sun out in the heat-wave but might be limiting at other times. Breakfast was self-service buffet; and we have definitely had worse! Attentive coffee service. Location is adjacent to the river, so good walking. Two top scores in my book: no smoking throughout; and no pets. What a blessed relief! Ample car parking (so-called hotels without on-site car parks should not be allowed to call themselves hotels in my book). So, all-in-all a pleasant surprise: would certainly recommend, and I hope they keep up the current policies.

"Don't sleep in! They wash all windows everyday at 9am!"
Dinamatt, 06 Août 2018

Just average. The outside is beautiful, and it is close to walking trails (although, we did not have time to explore them). They initially had no record of my prepayment and wanted me to pay upon check-in, but this was quickly resolved. The room was fine. There is no air conditioning. We kept the windows open and that attracted a crazy amount of insects. This is not the fault of the hotel though. We just happened to be visiting during a crazy heat wave! Found out while we were checking that we packed everything up that there was a massive air fan in the closet! (Our fault for not looking!!) The room was fine. Two mornings we awoke with someone washing the windows (or else some stranger with a ladder??). Startled us as we enjoy ourselves by relaxing freely. Oops! Pub across the road was generic usual stuff. We will probably find ourselves in the area again and will definitely consider staying here.

"I wish I could rate this a minus AWFUL HOTEL ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE"
Bertieblueboy, 06 Août 2018

We stayed at the hotel for one night on business, we had to get up early in the morning to catch a train and that is when we discovered that the shower did not work, the thermostat was broken and the water that came out was boiling to the point of it being dangerous. We advised the reception and were told that it had worked the day before....we had a train to catch so did not have the time to argue. They have since, after 6 days, admitted that the shower was broken and offered us £20 by way of compensation. The hotel room was not clean and it had a musty smell, we travel extensively for work and I can honestly say this has got to be by far the worst hotel/customer service I have ever experienced. They do not even provide the basics, I would not recommend staying at this hotel at all.

"Poor quality high cost"
ihdd, 26 Juillet 2018

Room smelt fusty/unpleasant Bathroom smells of damp No air cooling system in room Ground floor so couldn't open windows Breakfast starts at 615 according to man on reception, -self service, food not all out. If your vegetarian breakfast is poor and they have no idea about cross contamination with spoons etc! Staff stand about not checking customers want coffee/tea and you can't catch their eyes as they are engrossed in their own discussions Cost of hotel £82 I'd expect clean and higher standards!

"Service and Hotel both rotten!"
guywhiteside4, 23 Juillet 2018

Arrived late on a Sunday night for a one night stay for business purposes with my work colleague and from the outside the hotel looked pleasant and welcoming but that's where it ended. The man at reception spent more time huffing, puffing and shaking his head than he did to us trying to check in. From then on our entrance to our rooms smelt like rotten food. Both our rooms had net curtains covered in spiders and other unwanted bugs. Also both our rooms had beds that were like bouncy castles and didn't provide any kind of decent support with people who like a semi firm bed. Personally my room had a sink in the ensuite which every time I ran the tap I had a backwash smell of sewage! Weirdly the hotel overall seems ok enough just about but the service is poor and attention to detail (ie decent cleaning) just isn't there. Would never stay here again sadly

"Mixed hotel, some good, some not good"
Phil D, 17 Juillet 2018

Was in the area on Sunday, planning to go home same day but due to World Cup Final kicking off at 4pm we booked a room for the night. Saw the Best Western Plus Pastures, looked good from the pictures and said restaurant and bar so booked it. Got there to find a note on reception "back in 5 minutes", well we then waited 10 so who knows how long the note had been there, I even called the hotel from the reception area but phone just rang. Then the "Night Porter" appeared, no apology, mumbled something which he never repeated when I asked him what he'd said, got keys went to room. After the football and quick shower and change we went to restaurant only to be told by someone else at reception, both restaurant and bar were closed on Sunday, no mention on website which said "weekend times vary" (vary as in not open !!). There was a pub over the road but not really the point. We went in there and food was excellent, well priced and great staff (hotel take note !!). Our room was good size, bed had a strange slant towards the head board and there was "hair" (not from a head) and marks under toilet seat. Would I stay again ? if I did it would be for location and the pub opposite not for the staff we encountered so really mixed. First time in a Best Western for over 10 years, not impressed.

"Perfect"
Jan B, 29 Juin 2018

Stayed just one night unfortunately. Very clean, comfortable hotel with lovely staff. The ground floor room had a fan in the wardrobe which was very useful as it was a very hot night. There was also a safe, unusual in British hotels, and even better free to use. The bathroom was lovely with very good quality fittings. great big shower cubicle, really liked the shelf , quite high up on the wall just below the shower head. Out of the way but useful for shampoo etc. King size bed was a bit soft for me but that's personal taste. Did not eat in the restaurant in the evening but the menu sounded good. Breakfast was very good, self service. Staff attentive and friendly. Nice area with a few walks around. Would be happy to stay here again.

"Excelent!"
vmmedellinm, 28 Juin 2018

Very friendly, clean, delicious food! All staff are very very friendly! I very much recommend this beautiful Hotel. Very quiet and has all necessary service to enjoy a very great staying... Thank you very much for all your attention

"Depends on room"
Sue B, 12 Juin 2018

Had a brilliant nigts stay a few nights ago, nice large room, Room 9, lovely quiet night. Booked in today, been in larger single rooms, there is a connecting door (locke) into the next room, may as well have the guy in there sat in our room. He has been making work calls talking people through their internet and computer problems, obviously on speaker phone as I' hearing both side of conversation! Been to complain twice, getting a room change tomorrow. Just be aware when booking here state you do not want a room with a connecting door. I thought this type of room had gone out with the ark, didn't expect to find it in a Best Western.

"Nice surprise !"
robertebenard, 08 Juin 2018

I fortunate to find this little piece of heaven on my business trip! I took a chance and met Janet who bent over backwards to find me a room that was quiet having flown all night from Canada! Very comfortable room with a nice view of the backgarden ! Woke up to lots of wildlife in the garden and a very nice breakfast! Upon checking out I was welcomed by Darren and checked to make sure everything was fine with my room !! Great service and recommend to anyone!

"Managers attitude from hell !!!"
ramdog100, 04 Juin 2018

Tidy enough place and food is kind of edible but my god are these this small bonus`s overshadowed by the hotel manager who has the worst attitude of any customer facing woman I`ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. Having made it perfectly clear that our room was booked on a bed and breakfast basis for 2 adults, she personally watched me leave the hotel the following morning before pouncing on my girlfriend demanding an extra £10 for breakfast. Stunned by her approach my girlfriend suggested that she take another £10 from the card we`d booked the room on. Having heard the news I called the hotel for an explanation only to be confronted by Miss Bouquet herself who told me to "fetch £10 here now" then take your business elsewhere... This I will do, along with the custom of the 100`s of visiting managers and customers who our business put up in this hotel each year !! .... Horrific experience

"Consistantly good"
richandsueSwansea, 15 Mai 2018

We have stayed in the pastures many times and once again it was a delightful experience and great value for money. From a warm welcome to a beautifully appointed room to the friendly and professional team that run the various aspects of the hotel everything contributed to a relaxed and comfortable stay once again.

"Fab Hotel"
hare118, 12 Mai 2018

Very impressed, from the moment we arrived, very friendly and happy staff, room was excellent very clean, shower was huge my only complaint was the bed was too soft but that's a personal preference, we ate in the Pastures lodge opposite the hotel, again excellent, all staff very smiley and friendly couldn't do enough for us, the food excellent and reasonably priced my other half had the BIG mix grill and boy was it big so make sure you are hungry!! Breakfast was continental (could upgrade) lots of choice and again staff very friendly. Hopefully booking again in a couple of months.

"One of the Best! "
HomanJG, 07 Mai 2018

From the moment I booked the hotel I was so impressed with the staff and this was consistent until we left following our stay. I originally placed the booking for back in March and on the day we were due to arrive the snow was predicted to hit hard. I contacted the hotel to see if we could rearrange thinking that we may not be able to but Janet was so accommodating and made this possible. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady (didn't get name) who was so friendly yet professional. Our first night my dad who was in another room had a shower which was so hot, he mentioned to the man on reception who said he would try and sort. Unfortunately he was unable too but couldn't apologise enough and said he would move them first thing in morning as the hotel was so full and again this was done without any fuss and in such a friendly manner. During our entire stay every member of staff were so happy and friendly as always willing to help. The hotel rooms were extremely clean and very spacious and had everything you needed. The pub across the car park is excellent value for money and a very nice place to eat and sit outside after for a drink. It is out of the way a little but a lovely place to visit and I would go back in the future.

"Welcome to paradise "
Philip G, 02 Mai 2018

Went here after driving to Scarborough and had large caravan on back of car and met but two very accommodating members of staff who were happy for me to park in a few bays as very large caravan plus car, very easy check in and fantastic room, bar staff in restaurant bar were great with good service and had a great nights sleep with a good breakfast in morning at £10 so not to bad for a help yourself full English.Would stay again as overall a great place to stay at reasonable price and great staff.

"Good for a Best Western"
Yan B, 25 Avril 2018

I'm guessing the PLUS in the name means it's supposed to be better than a standard Best Western. And it certainly is better than the usual standard. It helps that the hotel and nearby pub look to be quite new so everything is fresh and of good standard. A decent amount of free parking which isn't far from the motorways but isn't next to a busy road. Electric heater / no aircon but not near a main road so should be quiet if opening a window. That said, you maybe kept awake until about 12-12:30 as the pub empties out/people getting into cars. If you want a totally quiet night I would recommend the rooms that face out to the rear of the hotel (looks to be open land at the back). No fridge or minibar. Room was clean and in good but quite basic fit out. Very (too) soft mattress. Free Wifi. At peak times I couldn't get video to work but fine for my laptop/business. Excellent 4G on O2 which was a surprise given its out of the way. Dinner- I first went to the pub across the way first and it was big & busy and lacking a quiet corner for a single person. Would be great for a group or a family. So back to restaurant in the hotel (nice quiet corner - ??). Décor was a little bit too dark/red to fit in with the hotel style. For less than £25 I had two pints of premium larger, soup starter and a chicken main. All very nice and plenty of it. Breakfast – bit of a disappointment… the orange juice was watered down (or very cheap). The choice limiting for a cold breakfast. Wasn't anything like the approach to dinner so perhaps, depending on cost, see what the pub offers. One last point, the walls between rooms were quite thin, I could hear conversations and coughing from the adjoining rooms. Not too bad this time as the folk in the rooms were quiet but something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper.

"Weekend Break"
Alan H, 24 Avril 2018

We stayed here recently for a weekend break. We had problems with dates and the hotel bent over backwards to solve the problem. The bedroom was modern - what one would expect from a 3 star hotel, even a 4 star hotel. The bedroom was comfortable and super clean! We had continental breakfast. The ladies who served us were brilliant- as were all the staff. You can either have dinner at the hotel or at the restaurant across the car park if you wish. Great location to stay if you want to discover South Yorkshire!

"Great Hotel with 5 Star Service at Breakfast "
Christopher G, 14 Avril 2018

This is a great hotel with good rooms. The King Room is worth the extra money as it is a larger room with a large double bed. Service at breakfast was exceptional. The service at breakfast exceeded many 5 Star hotels around the world that I have stayed at in recent years. The good rooms and excellent breakfast service makes this a good place for a relaxing stay. The hotel is let down by the evening restaurant. This cannot be booked at reception and despite telephoning a direct line on two occasions I only got an answering machine and despite leaving a message my phone call was not returned. So we had to have our evening meal elsewhere.

"Excellent stay"
KeithVi, 22 Mars 2018

My wife and I stayed here for a golden wedding bash held in the function room and had a great evening with a lovely meal to go with it.The Hotel room was quite spacious and warm and all the toiletries and drink complementaries were well stocked, large TV if needed and all the home comforts. The staff were all friendly in the Hotel section and over the car park in the Pub/function area, great Breakfast with everyone catered for from light to a good old fry up with everything you can think of on it. Will stay there again

"Great stay all round "
Stevestorey, 18 Mars 2018

The hotel staff were friendly and the room was great; modern and spacious with a lovely shower - although I think I got one of the better rooms after talking to colleagues who also stayed here. The pub opposite has an excellent menu and the food was outstanding. The breakfast at the hotel was spot on and overall it was a great base for a short stay with work colleagues

"Always a safe bet"
Darren L, 16 Mars 2018

Stay here on a regular basis. The best thing about this hotel is the staff, always helpful and friendly. Nice upgrade on this occasion. On this visit, I dined in the restaurant rather than across the road on the lodge. Shame they don't do draught ale as I love the Wolf Rock on tap. See you soon

"This could be a great hotel if they added more facilities"
car0lr65, 12 Mars 2018

We stayed here for two nights room only. The hotel looks nice from the outside, it is clean, the staff friendly and the room was big enough. I would have liked a bath as well as a shower but that is just me. The hotel is right next door to a nature park and we spent a wonderful Sunday walking about 10 miles through it and round it. If this hotel added some facilities like a pool and gym I would certainly go back. They do offer free entry to the near by leisure centre but we didn't use this so not sure what it is like.

"Great Stay"
Gill G, 06 Mars 2018

What a great weekend break. Hotel was lovely with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Breakfast yummy Definitely recommend a stay here. Great walk along the canal and the Pastures Lodge on the same site good for food.

"Very poor customer service"
Kevin G, 01 Mars 2018

I booked a room several weeks in advance at this hotel and at that time I was told I could cancel with no notice requirements and at no cost. Due to the poor weather conditions I called to give notice that I would need to cancel the booking and was told that I could not cancel or obtain a refund. I cannot comment on the rooms or service but if this is the type of behaviour that Best Western offers then I will not be using them again.

"Nice......It could be so much more"
NJSL22, 27 Février 2018

We had a great stay here but all together an odd experience with the finer details lacking. Some really good points and some not so good points so an average stay to be honest. Booking was straight Forward and done via email efficiently but check in was a little bit awkward. When we checked in it was very clinical, not very friendly and when I asked to be moved off the ground the floor (I have a phobia of ground floor rooms) the gentleman on reception was less than impressed, threw his hands in the air and snatched back the key from the desk and muttered things. We all have our moments but it didn't create the best impression to start with. The room was warm, big and spacious but the whole place had an odd smell, almost a musty, old people's home smell! It was very odd and very over powering at times. The room was clean and tidy but again lacking the details. The towels were ripped and one of them dirty, the bed was clearly well used and the mattress had a large well in it clearly from where people had slept on the left hand side, kept falling into it all night and made me 2 inches higher than my partner like the princess and the pea :) The Hotel folder was tatty and half the plastic wallets empty and creased. Again attention to detail lacking. This is the impression you set about the hotel from this booklet. The TV was big and being a smart TV we found that handy, however someone was logged into the Netflix account with all their personal details on display (maybe worth checking in future, must be some kind of data protection there) and everything you needed including kettle and refill of coffee and the biscuits were a nice touch each day. The shower was amazing and very spacious. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the service was great. Asked to add to room but the guy at reception hadn't taken any of our details so we had a faff with that too. On the second night the fire alarm went off at midnight. Then went off. With no explanation or apology the following day. Might be nice to let your guests know that there isn't a problem. Took a while to a certain whether we needed to leave the room or not. We did have a lovely walk down the canal and it's a great location. Probably would stay again but think about the small things. They make the difference to a good and an average hotel.

"Lovely weekend"
ou02deb, 20 Février 2018

Lovely hotel, we stayed for 2 nights with a buy a gift voucher. Hotel was lovely, we had a mean in the restaurant the first evening, this was really lovely, staff were very friendly and efficient, food lovely. You do need to book before you arrive as it does get very busy. Breakfast was continental with the buy a gift voucher but you were given the option of upgrading to full english every morning. We didn't bother as continental was fine for us. Room was warm and comfortable and clean. The bathroom had an odd smell, at first we thought someone had previously been smoking in there but the smell never went away so we didnt get to the botttom of this. We had tickets to an event over the car park at the Pastures Lodge Pub, we had a fantastic night, pie and pea supper, excellent band, extremely good value for money and a brilliant night out. I would definitely recommend to a friend and we will definitely come again, i am keeping an eye on the events at the Lodge for our next weekend.

"Birthday vidit"
molly75, 10 Février 2018

I visited this hotel for a one night stay on my husbands birthday, a Friday night. I paid a reasonable price by booking on the best western website. There was plenty of parking when we arrived & check in was quick & the receptionist was friendly & informative. ROOM- Our room was on the ground floor, room 1. It was quite spacious & had a large tv on the wall, with plenty of channels including sky sports. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits in the room. As well as an iron & hair dryer. The room was a bit cold when we arrived, but soon warmed up when I put the heating on. The bed was a bit soft for my liking & the pillows were like bricks. Then at around 10.30pm & sometime early in the morning, what sounded like a large wheelie bin was dragged passed our room waking us up! So needless to say I didn't sleep very well. BATHROOM- the bathroom was nice with a large powerful shower. Soap & shower gel were provided, as well as plenty of towels. FOOD - we ate at the pastures pub across the car park, which was good. But the hotel did have an al a carte restaurant too. Breakfast was good, all buffet style. Black pudding, sausages, fried bread, eggs, beans, bacon etc. Omelettes, porridge & veg sausages could be ordered. There was plenty of yoghurts, fruit salad, fresh fruit, muffins & toast. Tea & coffee was brought to the table. We were the only people at breakfast at 9.30, with 4 staff working there! Breakfast finished at 9.45 & 9.15 on a week day, this is far too early in my opinion & has put me off returning. You could have breakfast in bed, but only continental & it cost an extra £5. The breakfast staff made us feel very welcome & could not of been friendlier. LOCATION- located about 15 minutes drive from Doncaster on the outskirts of mexborough. Not a lot around the hotel, but we just went for a chilled out weekend. It is about 25 minutes drive to the Meadowhall. OVERALL- I think the hotel is lovely, but the beds could do with new mattresses. Also don't have a room at the back of the hotel on the ground floor, unless you like being woken by wheelie bins! I don't think I'd stay again due to this & the early breakfast times. But if that doesn't bother you, I'm sure you will enjoy it here.

"Lovely hotel"
Broughtonlocal, 03 Février 2018

The hotel was very pleasant and the staff welcoming, the restaurant was full so booking is required however, the pub opposite was very good too and we ate there. The hotel room was quiet and very good. You need a car as nothing local around (except for pub) but plenty of parks, lakes etc within a short drive. We really liked it there.

"Poor quality food"
sandismith, 29 Janvier 2018

Visited with a party of work colleagues the staff were friendly and service was prompt. However I ordered the prawn and chorizo spaghetti. Gosh what a horid meal over cooked spaghetti (a lot off) 3 prawns and less than 10 slices of chorizo lots of slices of tomatoes but very little sauce. I picked at the chorizo and prawns (which were over cooked) and left the over cooked spaghetti. Really disappointing meal would not recommend

"Average but ok."
mba4u, 05 Janvier 2018

An average hotel with rooms in older style. Located in the middle of nowhere away from the Doncaster city you don't stay that long. Service is friendly and breakfast is ok. Opposite of the hotel you find a restaurant with a good bar...

"Very relaxing stay"
Lauren J, 07 Décembre 2017

We had a BUYAGIFT voucher given to us as a present for our wedding. We decided to book the Pastures Hotel and this was a bit of a gamble as we didn't know the area and it took us hours to get there but it was so worth it! We had a very relaxing two night stay at the hotel, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The TV had every channel, even netflix. Unfortunately the restaurant inside the hotel was fully booked on each night but we went for food to the pastures restaurant across the way and it was good food at a good price. Even though the restaurant inside was fully booked we were still able to have a cocktail or two at the bar afterwards which were extremely good and not expensive. Breakfast each day was one of the best breakfasts we have had and staff were excellent. Even though it was a buffet breakfast, all items of food was fresh and hot and waitress service for coffee and tea. There was also an excellent selection of fruit, yoghurts and cereals. Me and my husband would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone but be sure to book beforehand to have the chance to sample the restaurant menu as thats our only regret! Thank you for our stay

"Wedding"
Linda H, 06 Décembre 2017

Excellent hotel and venue, we had a great time celebrating our friends wedding. We stayed overnight and the room was lovely, comfortable bed nice bedding. Breakfast very good with helpful staff we came from West Yorks and found it easy to get to with plenty of parking... All in all superb hotel and stay celebrating the wedding of our friends the food spot on, overall the day and night was excellent...

"Good stop-over --- with snow"
Trevor W, 04 Décembre 2017

Had a very pleasant stay here with friendly staff and atmosphere. The only downside was the meal in the lodge which was rather bland. Cajun chicken had no flavour at all. They have an extensive menu at a reasonable price. We would chose something else next time. Breakfast is buffet style and restocked regularly. Happy staff and the best poached eggs I've had in ages. Well done Chef.

"Absolutely disgusted"
Swifty59, 21 Novembre 2017

Was told on check in breakfast was at 10.30 am and when we went for breakfast it was finished ?? spoke to the assistant manager and was told to stop moaning, shut up, go back to the room and calm down.... typical ignorant staff... room was ok, no toilet roll waited ages for one to be sent up. I don't know how they can say good service, excellent hotel they must be looking through rose coloured glasses. We ate in the pastures lodge as the stench in the hotel was of fish that was off and it made me sick. Never ever again will I stay in a hotel that treat customers like a piece of dirt...,it made me ashamed to have been born in Mexborough as I'm proud of my South Yorkshire heritage but things have definitely gone to pot ....TOTALLY DISGUSTED THE MANAGERIAL STAFF NEED TO GO ON A CUSTOMER SERVICE COURSE TO LEARN MANNERS

"Another great stay!"
chocaholic070, 19 Novembre 2017

Very helpful and friendly staff. Beds are really comfortable, rooms are nice and big with Tea/Coffee making and if you run out reception will gladly provide more. Nice and quiet with good parking. Breakfast is great, with plenty of choice, the ladies are lovely and quick to top up with tea/coffee. We look forward to staying here.

"Excellent "
jimbob1979, 18 Novembre 2017

All I can say is hotel is excellent booked in after we refused to stay at Hellaby hall hotel. Staff excellent Food excellent Rooms excellent Think this hotel is rated 3 stars in think you need to get upgraded as there are a lot of 4 stars establishments you put to shame. Pastures you deserve to moved up in star rating also the price you pay is good also how u do it for what you charge is amazing.

"Good night stay"
Q-the-Review, 13 Novembre 2017

Stayed here a few times over the past few years. Nice hotel with plenty of parking. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure of staying in one of their recently refurbished double rooms. Both the bedroom and bathroom have been done out to a very high standard. Food in the restaurant is very nice, plenty of choice and good value for money. Same story at breakfast, all buffet style but there's plenty of choice to keep everyone happy. Good value for money all round and highly recommended.

"Very comfortable and friendly"
Neil A, 12 Novembre 2017

Stayed for one night on a business trip and will return. Very nice, well looked after hotel at a very reasonable price. The staff were all very friendly, the room was very comfortable, the bed was the best I have ever slept on. Even the TV was an excellent size and I didn't need binoculars. Sadly I didn't have dinner here but the buffet breakfast was excellent with the food being cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. I stay in many hotels and wish they all had the care that the Pastures does.

"Good"
Matrixsenior, 08 Novembre 2017

Good hotel. Free parking, free WiFi, nice sized comfortable room. Would have liked a bath, but can't complain. Nice big telly and a proper wardrobe. Nice restraunt and a pub across the car park. Would definitely use again.

"Excellent Value"
tandb36, 07 Novembre 2017

Visited this hotel for one night on way to a funeral in the area. Location wise it is reasonable close to the A1M and n the edge of Mexborough a typical small Yorkshire town. Very quiet. Was extremely impressed with the quality of service from the staff as we arrived much earlier than expected ( 11.30 am) and were allocated a room immediately.. Room was comfortable, very clean, with king-sized bed, desk and 2 chairs. WIFI was very good which enabled my partner to do some work in the morning, TV has freeview + sky sports. The only downside was that the in house restaurant was closed Sunday evening but with a good pub across the car park this is not a problem. Breakfast was buffet style and very good. The hotel does not have Gym facilities on site but has a deal where guests can use for free the facilities of the local Sports complex approx. 1/2 a mile away. Total cost for 2 people an exceptional £40.50 !!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone !

"Very comfortable and enjoyable"
Samantha R, 03 Novembre 2017

We travelled to the area for a funeral and arrived at the hotel in the morning, several hours before our checking in time, however the staff were very accommodating and allowed us to check into our room straight away without any hassle and considering what lay ahead this was most appreciated. The room was very clean and warm, and the bed looked very comfortable and had all the amenities that we expected. On our return to the room later that day we popped to the adjoining pub/restaurant across the car park for a meal, although the food was satisfactory the pub itself was extremely hot and therefore we found this uncomfortable to eat in and as the pub was busy we waited quite a while for the food and the bar staff were not as helpful as they could have been. The hotel staff however, could not have been more helpful, polite and courteous. The following morning, after a good nights sleep we went for our breakfast which was delightful and had everything we could of wanted and again the staff were on hand when and if we wanted anything. Overall, a very nice stay and we would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

"Good work place to stay"
RIC9002000, 30 Octobre 2017

Located ideally for my place of work when on site visits. The refurbished rooms are lovely well done and clean. Older rooms are still good and clean just not as modern. Evening staff are fantastic attentive and helpful. Food in the restaurant is good quality an great portion sizes. Breakfast is OK. Not really a fan of the breakfast staff, usually too busy have a mothers morning meeting and coming down for breakfast seems to dispute them putting the world to rights. However that is only my opinion and they do bring you a brew quickly. Good place to stop for work or pleasure

"fab hotel"
Angela S, 22 Octobre 2017

This hotel is a very nice clean comfy good night sleep, it has everything you could want and more in a hotel, the breakfast was really nice, the staff are very welcoming helpful nothing is to much trouble, we would highly recommend and we would stay again, its great for a night out at the pastures lodge pub then just walk across the car park to the hotel , also there is vending machines to get water ect and snacks if you get munchies

"Excellent Stay"
Gary J, 18 Octobre 2017

Stayed here before and never had a problem. Rooms are spotless, staff helpful. Nice touches like 42” smart tv in room linked to Wi-fi so can have your home comforts while working away. Will definitely be staying here again when working in the area.

"EXCELLENT STAY"
David C, 13 Octobre 2017

Nice spacious room, good facilities. Must have economised on the soundproofing when they built the hotel. Breakfast fine. Ate at pub in evenings; good snap, value for money. Staff helpful, and everything fine.

"Bad noisy nights sleep!"
Nessdf23, 11 Octobre 2017

My Dad booked 2 family rooms and a double for my Mum's 80th. I shared room 18 with my Mother and 11 year old niece. On booking we were NOT informed about a function in the restaurant, so in fact it was closed to the general public and we had to eat in the pub across from the hotel, very slow service and not very good food. When we finally received the food I had lost my appetite, it was also dry and not very tasty. We also forgot to take Mum's ID for her free meal and Birthday cake, which they wouldn't take our word for it, I thought this attitude was shameful with a paying table of 9 persons. When we got back to the hotel the function was in full swing and noisy. The DJ was at the end near reception, which was right next to our bedroom. As the night went on, the music went up. I was sharing a room with my OAP Mum who has dementia and my 11 year old niece. I went out to reception to ask the night porter if they would turn the music down, but it never happen. After the party had finished the noise outside our room was awful. Tipsy people shouting. We all had a dreadful nights sleep. The only plus, was the breakfast, which was quite good and they catered for veggie/vegans and offered soya milk for tea/coffee and the staff were pleasant. Another thing the hotel should consider is wheelchairs. My Mum was tired and we didn't know we would have to walk so far to the restaurant. It would of been handy if we could of borrowed a wheelchair for our stay.

"Above Average, but not Very Good"
RobinsFolly, 04 Septembre 2017

The Good: Wifi worked well. Lots of free parking. Pub nearby with good inexpensive food. Clean including the bathroom. The Not So Good: Hard beds - although that might be more personal preference. Pillows weren't bad. Small room...not much room to move around. Bathroom...very bad design. When you showered the water sprayed on the counter top. Short people would have a difficult time reaching the towel bar over the counter. Dull lighting.

"Very Friendly, Welcoming."
andreamoore1, 28 Août 2017

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Best Western Plus in Mexborough. Check in was very smooth, room was clean and tidy. We were under the impression that Breakfast was included. We found that a continental breakfast was included and we could upgrade to Full English for 5. We decided as we were there for 2 nights we would try the Continental for 1st Morning. we went down to breakfast and stated we would be having the Continental Breakfast. We were shown where all the items were located and told to help ourselves. We were dissappointed. There was a bowl with few pieces of Grapefruit, mixed fruit, Granola that we polished off between us. Basically we felt like the poor relation and the Continental Breakfast items hadn't been refilled. The 2nd morning we had the Full English and happy to say was very different. There was a lot to choose from and all of a good standard. Very happy. We also had to speak to reception on the first morning about an issue with the bed. Over time people sitting on the edge had damaged the side and you felt like you were rolling off in the night. We spoke to the lady on reception who said she would get someone to check this out. To our surprise they were already in the room as we got back. There wasn't really much could be done however we were happy that at least they had offered to do something. Overall we really liked this hotel and would certainly return.

"Nice hotel and weekend away"
paulmason03, 24 Août 2017

This is a nice hotel with a large family friendly restaurant/bar just over the car park in a separate building (which means you can hear no noise from it). The reception is quite bright and spacious with some comfy seats to chill out in near the bar area. The man who greeted us was friendly and helpful when asked about the local area and hotel details, like breakfast times. There were two other reception staff over the weekend that weren't very friendly though - a woman with dark hair and glasses, and a man with a large unkempt beard (my partner wondered if he was incapable of speaking). The bar area is quite small and could do with a chill out area, as the only areas you can really sit in is reception, otherwise you're sitting in the restaurant eating area. We didn't try the food other than breakfast which was a nice continental breakfast. The breakfast staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were nice, good size, clean and with comfy beds. The Smart TV's were excellent with Sky Sports, and apps available to watch films/TV if need be. Free WiFi worked fine. The hotel were fine about us ordering a takeaway delivery to our rooms even though they had a restaurant, unlike one hotel we stopped at recently. The nearby town Mexborough was a bit scruffy and lifeless, definitely not worth a visit. But other areas around were pretty, including the canal walk next to the hotel. Nearby there is a leisure centre (which you can use as part of the hotel facilities) and an Asda supermarket around 1 mile away. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Enjoyable and lovely"
Amy T, 17 Août 2017

We stayed here for a weekend with our baby and had a good time, the room was lovely and clean they gave us a travel cot for our 1 year old. Staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast good in the morning with a fair amount to choose from. The bar opposite does nice food with a children's soft play area and out door park. Would come back again.

"Pleasant stay"
Raggle123, 14 Août 2017

Positives and negatives... the colleague checking us didnt greet us, was just given a form told where to sign. No pleasantries or even a hello. Had to ask re: breakfast times and where as not naturally offered. Room met our needs, bed comfy, good size, shower good pressure, clean. The room was very hot with no air con. Opened the window the inch it allowed did provide some relief, unfortunately due to a function there was noise late in to the evening particularly with window open. Breakfast first morning was good (continental) and offered a good range. However on 2nd morning ran out of yoghurts/croissants etc i assume due to being busy. Staff although friendly seemed a little fraught by this busy morning. Overall our stay met our needs though so all good.

"Good hotel"
Sujac, 14 Août 2017

Stayed here for two nights for a weekend break Nice modern rooms with everything you need Comfy bed and pillows Continental breakfast was basically croissants and toast no meats or cheese Yoghurts and cereal Five pound charge for cooked breakfast each Pub opposite is good for food meals are enormous and tasty

"Awful service "
Jon R, 13 Août 2017

Absolutely shocked with this venue it looked very nice, but as a resident I was told I could not use the bar as there was a private function on? I asked Is there another bar and the answer was no ? Woken up several times with banging doors noisey families and in the morning noisey cleaning teams in changing rooms at 9am in a Sunday ! One word Awful.

"Wedding party"
Elliewatson, 23 Juillet 2017

My partner and I stayed here yesterday, and it's a lovely hotel. It is really clean, the staff are really pleasant and the breakfast was lovely. I would definitely stay here again. Well done everyone.

"Very good hotel."
Elysianvalley, 12 Juillet 2017

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks for business. I had not previously been been to the area. The nearby town was a little tired, the hotel at the edge of the town was well situated beside a canal. Some rooms were under renovation but this did not hinder what was an enjoyable stay in a very clean hotel. Staff were exceptionally helpful throughout and the onsite Reeds restaurant was tasty. Free use of the nearby Dearne Valley leisure centre was an added bonus. The only downside was the lack of aircon in the bedrooms.

"Good comfortable hotel with excellent staff"
959ah, 09 Juillet 2017

Room was just as advertised and expected, the staff couldn't do enough to help and made our visit most enjoyable. It is unusual to have staff go out of their way to help which was certainly the case here.

"Okay hotel for a business trip"
George M, 08 Juillet 2017

My overall impression was that this hotel is trying much too hard to be something that it will never be. My supposedly upgraded room was tired, but it was at least clean and I did sleep well. I had dinner in the restaurant, which was fine, although perhaps overpriced for the area. The location is bizarre, but just a short taxi journey from the office. Staff were friendly. I would probably not stay here out of choice, but it served its purpose when in the area on business.

"Building work in progress"
ifand, 05 Juillet 2017

Stayed here before and remember that the wifi was excellent. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed tonight. Disappointed not to have been advised prior to booking. Room fine. TV had numerous options incl Netflix.

"Fantastic hotel"
susieJJ, 24 Juin 2017

Stayed at this hotel 2 years ago in the honeymoon suite and it was beautiful. We stayed hete last night at its even better. The hotel rooms have been updated and are very modern and comfortable with a brand new smart tv. Cot supplied for our little one and bathroom was beautiful. Fantastic friendly staff and breakfast was 5*! Even given a discount for attending a wedding at the pastures lodge! Definately well reccommended. :-)

"You can't go wrong "
D-J-Griffith, 21 Juin 2017

This hotel gives you plenty of choice with well appointed clean rooms. They are currently giving the rooms a face lift and the are massive improvement. The fact you can use the pub across the car park and charge to your room is an added advantage, it also boasts a play are for any little ones. All in all you can't go wrong!!

"Nice"
v169fbk, 19 Juin 2017

We have stayed here before and always receive a friendly welcome. However the room we stayed in this time was a bit dated although spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed. I always find the rooms rather dark due to having such small windows. The hotel is in a nice area and very quite. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant we ate breakfast in was nice. Considering what we paid for the room and breakfast it was excellent value for money.

"reeds restaurant"
24652213, 02 Juin 2017

Used many times been okay this time load of rubbish. Fillet steak medium rare: steak well done wafer thin, burnt chips hidden under some fresh ones. I complained and had reply, ok sorry and girl walked off. As a regular business user and visitor I wont use the restaurant again but the hotel itself is good.

"Nice hotel"
MichH43, 05 Mai 2017

We were greeted with a friendly welcome. Large room, clean. Added bonus to have tea and coffee. The bed was comfy. Plenty of parking. Wifi good. Quiet hotel Would recommend and we will stay here again

"A little disappointing"
Mereshrew, 28 Avril 2017

I stayed here twice within a week. The first time was on a sunday and arrived to find the restaurant shut and had to eat in the huge pub across the way. When I returned in the week I was working in my room and ventured down at 9pm only to be told the kitchen was closed , when it says 9.15 on the check in card. I went across to the pub to find there kitchen was also closed. So be wary of these things if booking. Otherwise good clean room and a nice pack of crisps and biscuits which i had to make do with as food for the evening.

"Peaceful after a long day"
Atters68, 28 Avril 2017

Stayed for 2 night recently. Hotel is easy to find - located behind a pub opposite a newish housing estate. Away from any busy roads leading to a peaceful and relaxing night. Friendly and efficient staff in all areas. Room (48) was great - although I couldn't figure out the AC. Think this may be controlled centrally. Reeds the restaurant had a reasonable choice at very reasonable prices for food and drinks. Special mention to the young bloke working the bar and restaurant ON HIS OWN both nights i was there.... he was spot on! I don;t know how he managed to deal with all the customers he had, he did the work of 2/3 people and always with a smile. Happy to be going back next week.

"Superb and Tranquil. Something for everyone"
Kath95978, 26 Avril 2017

The pastures hotel is away from the bustle of main roads. Communal areas and restaurant are lovely. We had a disabled room as I had recently broken my arm. Bathroom was a bit tired and lacking in basics/luxuries (depending on your point of view) such as a decent quality magnifying mirror at right height and shelf space for toiletries. This seemed insignificant due to the quality of the staff and the food in the restaurant. Lovely quiet restaurant. However, across the car park, was the Pastures Lodge which is a massive beefeater type of restaurant. Half of it is adults only. Rest looks super venue for kids. So best of both worlds.

"Update the web and open the bar on Sunday"
SueD503972, 26 Avril 2017

Booked a 'king suite' on the website but when we arrived was shown to an 'executive room' and the very helpful girl on reception said they don't advertise the suites on the web. Someone needs to look at this and update the website. The executive room was remarkably uninspiring. However she did move us to the room I thought I had booked in the first place. The bar and restaurant were closed so the only option was room service to be delivered from the pub over the road or eat at the pub. We opted for eating in the pub and it was a big mistake. This is a family oriented pub and children were constantly running around between the indoor and outdoor play areas. Tables were not cleaned even after the diners had long gone, food on the floor and staff standing around chatting. The actual food of two sandwiches and chips had obviously been placed under the hob lights and the salad consisted primarily of red pepper and a chunk of tomato with some limp leaves. Do not eat here if you want a relaxing meal in pleasant surroundings you would be better off getting a takeaway. I appreciate that you don't want to offer a full restaurant service when there are not many guests in but one person in the bar and one in the kitchen could surely be moved from the pub to cover this. You might even get more bookings for a Sunday if this was offered because although the room was perfectly acceptable and clean we won't be back (and we visit the area regularly) unless this changes.

"Lovely But a bit remote.."
Jimmy C, 12 Avril 2017

Enjoyed my stay. Comfy bed and good food in restaurant at decent prices. Plenty of car parking. Had to wait 5 mins to check in due to 1 person on reception at time of arrival. Location has good nearby travel networks but feels a bit remote if you fancy having an evening stroll. Room and car felt safe and had decent bathroom n shower. Only downside was my room had poor wifi signal so everything buffered which was annoying. that's why I dropped a star. Would stay here again if oncompany business but to be honest wouldn't recommend for families. For me good internet connectivity is a must.

"Modern, Comfortable Hotel"
540RegA, 05 Avril 2017

Surprisingly for the previous hotels that I have stayed at in the Best Western group, this hotel is modern. Rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean and the décor good - same could be said for the public areas. As usual, this was a business trip so cannot comment or recommend the local areas, but in a rural situation. Staff are attentive and friendly. This establishment could have merited another star except for the food. I ate in Reids Restaurant and was disappointed. There is another eatery the other side of the car park but did not try it. A three course meal for £20 is very reasonable and the menu not the normal run of the mill. However, Cajun salmon was bland and a rare steak was at best medium. If the execution mirrored the promise a feat would have been in store. I would stay again, but the other restaurant would be sampled.

"Good stay"
David W, 21 Mars 2017

Rooms are a bit bland but more importantly spotless,Check Inn friendly,In house restaurant very good value with excellent service and tasty freshly made food .Would highly recommend staying here if traveling through the area..Good value for money and a welcome change from the premier Inn

"nice business trip"
roger_rueedi, 15 Mars 2017

very nice and wuiet hotel with very friendly staff the rooms are clean and in a good condition. breakfast is well sortet and freshliy cooked parking is no problem and the restaurant in the hotel is nice, and very flexibel looking forward to the next visit

"Sweet"
John N, 03 Mars 2017

We've stayed in the suite a couple of times. Four poster bed and a spa bath is nice. Couple of issues with cleanliness and smelling of smoke but overall a good room. Reasonable value at £100 a night but currently £145 for a room in this area is ambitious to say the least. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you're interested in history then then best preserved Norman keep in the country is just a couple of miles away in Conisborough.

"Not a good vist"
pelham70, 27 Novembre 2016

Not impressed , the hotel was clean but dated. A lot of noise from the restaurant across the car park, didn't eat there , hotel bar/ restaurant had a good menu but was fully booked we were told but not many were sitting in there, thank god for cuppa soups. The room was tidy as was the bathroom but the beds (twin room) were very uncomfortable , almost like being back in the army , with metal frames. As a family using the hotel its probably fine but when your bairns have flown the nest you like a bit of peace but the walls didn't want to hold next the noise back. Will not be back.

"Excellent as ever"
Gail J, 08 Novembre 2016

Another enjoyable stay at this friendly hotel which is conveniently located and in a quiet location. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. Have stayed here a number of times over the years and hope to do so in the future.

"Yearly visit"
Steve P, 06 Novembre 2016

Good clean hotel, staff always very happy to help and facilities are good. Breakfast is worth a visit and the public over the car park also well worth a visit. I stay once a year in March after the Cheltenham Gold Cup and we never have any issues

"Great Value"
michaelgould, 03 Novembre 2016

I paid £59 for a room including an excellent breakfast. Staff were friendly, the room was clean and quite, the WIFI was free and the full English in the morning was very good. The restaurant food in the evening was a bit basic and the wine list was awful but I can't fault the value for money. I would happily stay there again

"1 night stay"
Alan B, 03 Novembre 2016

Check in pleasant and smooth Room a good size clean and fresh. Towels and bedding clean and fresh. Large flat screen TV on Wall across from bed. Large walk in shower, water flow good temp control average. Had a reasonable nights sleep. Breakfast was a buffet style and the item's were a bit dried out but hey all buffet breakfasts are the same if your not down early. Reasonable choice of items. Checkout very efficient and bill correct. Would use again if in the area.

"Very good hotel"
Paul G, 02 Novembre 2016

Very large modern looking hotel, rooms are very well presented and offer all mod cons. Very pleasant 1 night stay, staff very friendly at check in, restaurant staff also friendly and helpful. Food very good, nice selection of wine, bar well stocked with friendly staff. Breakfast is self service, coffee served at the table, in conclusion, a very nice hotel, I will stay again.

"Handy stop"
SJohnD, 31 Octobre 2016

We have stayed here several times while visiting relatives and mostly the rooms are adequate if you are put in the right hand side and much better to the left of reception. The reception has a most annoying hum that the flood lights make but the staff are pleasant. It's a popular place for people clubbing and attending local music events so there is a lot of movement of people coming back to their rooms late through the night. Breakfast is from a buffet which is regularly restocked and coffee is served at the table. The quality of the full English breakfast is generally good. Room rate prices have climbed each time we visit so we may look to new venues in the future

"Excellent service and accomodation"
Cliff_Healey, 31 Octobre 2016

We booked this hotel at short notice for a visit to the nearby Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Even though it was a late booking so a reduced rate we were treated as honoured guests. Staff were polite and helpful, the room clean and comfortable. The dining choices were plentiful and the portions more so.

"Perfect for what we required"
Billins82, 29 Octobre 2016

My Wife and I stayed here as a layover on our way to Edinburgh from Essex. Booking was incredibly last minute (booked on the motorway 20 minutes prior to arriving) which is always a little worrying. Arriving at the hotel, parking was plentiful and first impressions were very good. Can't comment on the location as we didn't venture out, but I got the impression that there wasn't a great deal surrounding it. Upon entering the reception it seemed very much closed; queue worrying moment where you think you may have missed something in the small print! Within a couple of minutes the receptionist appeared who was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed on the ground floor. Was hoping to grab a drink at the pub, but unfortunately the venue was holding a wedding so the pub was unavailable. Even if it was open, I'm not sure if we would have been in time. On the surface, the room was nicely presented. Bed was a little too soft for me, but acceptable. Bathroom was surface clean but there was quite a lot of black mould in the shower cubicle and the towel had a hole in it, so clearly had seen better days. Probably due a deep clean. We had breakfast in the morning and this was of a good standard. It was kept well stocked throughout. No pastries were on offer apart from croissants and the bread was very simple. A more varied selection would have added a touch of luxury. Maybe some nice bread and a choice of pastries? All in all, the hotel was perfect for what we wanted.

"A perfect place to sopover"
lizveitch2016, 29 Octobre 2016

I used this hotel for a one night stopover whilst visiting old friends. It was exactly what I needed. clean, comfortable, with a good shower. the bed was very comfortable and the staff very friendly. i met friends in the bar across the car park, where we had a good meal and a pleasant evening.

"Expected more"
John S, 28 Octobre 2016

attention to detail required for cleanliness in rooms Excellent Attending Staff go out of way to serve Personally found bed uncomfortable Bedding better at Premier inns Locality was good Price was in comparison with other hotels book at best western cheaper

"Hotel perfect for family party"
T3985TCsallys, 25 Octobre 2016

The hotel looks very welcoming from the outset. The reception staff were all very helpful and polite. The rooms were basic, but met the needs for our one night stay. The beds were comfy, the rooms were spacious, clean and warm. The bathrooms were clean and modern. There was a good choice of food on offer for breakfast (although not outstanding in quality); full English, cereal, yoghurt and toast. Everyone's needs were met. The facilities at Pastures Lodge were just right for our family get together, catering for children and adults alike.

"Convenient comfortable hotel"
AndyCoe1960, 09 Octobre 2016

Clean comfortable business hotel that just starting to get a little tiered. Good size rooms. Walls a bit thin so you can hear the adjacent rooms antics very clearly. Easy check in and check out with friendly staff.

"Comfortable nights sleep "
Gpwills, 30 Septembre 2016

Stayed just the one night. Very helpful and attentive staff. Bed was very comfortable and slept like the proverbial log! Bar across from hotel had a great atmosphere for a Monday night! Would definitely stay again!

"Excellent!"
Suttley, 29 Septembre 2016

I stayed at the hotel whilst on business in the area for 1 night. I had bed & breakfast then went over to Pastures Lodge for a Steak Burger & Sides (which was excellent). My stay was throughly enjoyable and would definitely stay again.

"Lovely staff"
claire29112015, 25 Septembre 2016

The hotel was not easy to find, tucked away behind a pub. The rooms were dated and the double bed soft and uncomfortable as the edge of the mattress collapsed! The food was good and priced reasonably but the saving grace of this visit was the helpful and welcoming staff

"Good find for staying in Doncaster area"
Albermarle, 24 Septembre 2016

The hotel is around 6 miles West of Doncaster but is nicer than most hotels in Doncaster. The newish building you first see at the roadside , is actually Pastures family pub. Behind it is a large car park and at the back of the car park is the stand alone hotel. Looks new from outside but from the inside I guess it is probably about 10 years old. Reception is large and open and check in was fine. My first impression of the room was that it was a bit dark due to all the dark wood and a relatively small window. Apart from that it was fine, with a internet connected Smart TV, which is unusual. In the hotel is a small bar and a restaurant, or you can walk across the car park to the pub. It's not really a pub, more of a family cafe, with 95% of tables laid out for eating. Kids running around. etc . Very similar to a big chain pub. Prices in the hotel and the pub are actually similar but probably from the typical chain pub menu you would get more calories for your money from that. I enjoyed the home made fish pie in the restaurant, although it was quite a long wait for it to arrive. A canal/navigable river runs behind the hotel and there is access via a gate, if you fancy a pleasant stroll . Single rooms or single occupancy of a double is cheaper than the standard B&B rate. if you are travelling alone . So nothing spectacular but no real negatives and it provides a comfortable room with a choice of eating and drinking facilities/ Lots of parking and chance for a walk by the canal.

"Very good hotel"
A9263XRmichaelk, 19 Septembre 2016

WE have stayed here several times over the last few years. Always great service from friendly helpful staff. Bar could be a little better stocked with a wider range of beers etc. On the whole though a great place to stay if you need to stay in the Mexborough area. There are not too many reasons for staying in Mexborough but if you do this place is great

"Improved visit"
Darren L, 16 Septembre 2016

I'm a regular guest at this hotel. In previous stays I had several problems with the WiFi. Much improved this time round although the Internet died around 10pm so work still to do. Room was better, bathroom was nice staff nice as was breakfast

"A family affair"
Salou79, 11 Septembre 2016

A lovely hotel with wonderful staff apart from the hotel manager. What an ignorant man! Should not be in the job if he cannot be bothered to be friendly with guests that are staying at the hotel. Upon checking out he didn't even ask if we had a nice stay. He nodded at the desk for me to put the room card down. Michelle at reception was so helpful and lovely. The rooms were lovely, but very hot & many of us didn't sleep well due to it. There should be air con in the rooms. New manager and air con needed and it would be an even better stay!

"Perfect for a night away"
LH1988, 11 Septembre 2016

The perfect hotel for a night away. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful when I arrived - never saw her without a smile on her face. My twin room was huge - old fashioned decor but spacious, comfy and clean. The location is a bit out of the way so transport is essential if you're planning on going anywhere. Would definitely recommend. The only downside was the price but it was Doncaster Races weekend so that was to be expected.

"great stay for nieces`s wedding"
artdeco61, 10 Septembre 2016

Great Hotel and excellent Staff..Booked two nights whilst attending nieces wedding at nearby Cusworth Hall. On arrival was welcomed and given information about location of room, dinning times and locality of restaurants, pub and general information. Room was clean and spacious with hospitality tray, Ensuite had lovely hot shower and heated towel rail. Carpets very clean and bed comfortable. Two chairs and a desk. Plenty of comfy sofas in lounge to relax. We had evening meal in Pasures lodge which is the adjoining pub in the car park. Our table was ready and service was very good. Food delicious and generous portions. We chose from a great selection from their menu. All dishes reasonable price. Had breakfast in hotel restaurant which was part of the B&B deal and it was great. The cold and hot buffet selection is very good and the staff are superb. Nothing is too much trouble, anything not on the menu you could ask and they would help. The selection is very good, the seating, tables and service excellent. Great friendly atmosphere throughout hotel and eating areas from all the staff. We had several rooms booked for the family all rooms very good. Our room was through choice on the first floor over looking the countryside and canal. All the family said they had ice quiet rooms and no noise at night. The hotel was exceptional with their service as it was full and busy with our wedding party plus St Ledgers weekend guests. A big thank you to all the staff for quality service, friendliness and lovely meals. A special thank you to the breakfast team of girls and guys for being `great` and working hard to keep us guests all happy. very grateful. Rita & Graham from Lincolnshire

"Coped well with the influx"
jane_9758, 05 Septembre 2016

I stayed here as one of a group of 70+ people. The hotel coped brilliantly when we returned wet and cold, opening up the boiler room to help dry our wet clothing. The breakfasts were good, the dishes being refilled before they became empty. The informal buffet was great and the formal dinner was very good.

"Ideal for the canals of Yorkshire & the Trans-Pennine Way."
Deoxlade, 05 Septembre 2016

Excellent hotel, staff very friendly and accommodating. We stayed with a group of approx 70 rowers who all wanted showers after a day of rowing on the canals, so consequently there was not enough hot water at those times. We had 2 evenings with 3 course dinners which were excellent, and all the staff were very efficient. On our last day, we had to leave before the rowers finished their last days rowing, and the Receptionist, Michelle plus one of the waiters kindly went to get us some lunch to eat before we left - most thoughtful, nothing too much trouble. Only negative, the bar is in a corner of a restaurant area, and there was not enough seating available, so drinks were having to be taken into the front lobby area, but it was still comfortable. Another advantage is the Pastures Lodge opposite which is ideal for families.

"Fantastiv"
Paul H, 23 Août 2016

Great hotel excellent staff great food! All in all just perfect! Thank you. Shame the woman on the table next to me moaned all night about the food! Too early too cold no pleasing her! Bet she has never dined out other than at KFC or Spud u like! Ignore what she says she didn't know how to use her knife and fork!!!

"Good value .Quiet location. satisfactory"
robert i, 23 Août 2016

Excellent breakfast. They brought out more bacon and sausages even though we nearly missed the 9.45 deadline. room was too warm but window opening helped and it was a hot day - in England ! bed was a bit firm for me and the pillows a hard for my wife. Unlike some reviews we found the reception staff helpful on check in and out. Satnav tried to get us to turn off road half a mile away. Perhaps time to buy a new one.

"great breakfast"
Elizabeth S, 20 Août 2016

very good hotel. Nicely presented, good amenities and very nice staff and breakfast choice and quality. The only negative was the amount of noise you could hear from adjacent rooms and with a wedding on in the hotel there was a lot of door slamming and late night comings and goings from rooms. Overall pretty decent.

"Excellent Value"
Alan A, 17 Août 2016

A gem of a hotel for the weary traveller, good selection of food, great staff and everything you want in a hotel - clean rooms, a TV that works, large shower, hot water - excellent find - will be back

"service"
Thomas M, 15 Août 2016

breakfast was a bit poor, we had a party of 6 & two had to wait sometime for there breakfast as the food had run out when they got to front told to come back in 5 mins & buy that time we had all eat our breakfast so they ended up eating theres when we had finished

"Dated and far too hot"
Katie M, 14 Août 2016

Looks good from the outside, plenty of parking and a pub on site. Night porter rude on check in. We had two rooms on opposite sides of the building, one was a comfortable temperature however the other was far too hot the whole time even with the window open. Rooms fine however dated and need a refurb.

"Races & Simply Red"
charlotte609, 14 Août 2016

Excellent hotel very friendly reception staff, clean modern rooms with plenty of parking. HOWEVER, the breakfast experience was very unsatisfactory, we were greeted by a very abrupt unfriendly woman, we were eventually shown to a table and asked tea or coffee, told it was self service and left. We joined the queue only to be told to go sit down while things were replenished, the tea turned up and after 10 minutes we rejoined the queue, to get in to the kitchen the staff had to go through the queue carrying hot food which we thought was quite dangerous. When we got to said food there were no eggs and the self serve toaster was positioned so you held up everyone else waiting to serve themselves. The tea was cold by the time we sat down, no milk on the table and even though the food was tasty and good quality the whole experience spoiled our visit. The staff serving on were miserable quite the opposite of the lovely reception staff.

"Great hotel"
Les B, 05 Août 2016

Pastures is a hotel I use regularly for business. Its always very friendly, efficient and comfortable. The wifi is very good, Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is always great with a good range of local products.

"Little things matter"
davidvG5830IN, 01 Août 2016

Impressive building in a out of the way location. Needs a little tlc as first impression of dated decor. Lack of signage in reception to indicate location of rooms, toilets etc. Rooms need a spruce up, a little dated and worn. Power key socket broken, noisy wardrobe doors. Poor quality bed linen. Poor sound proofing. Food service patchy, first night good attentive and helpful staff, pity about paper napkins, second night awful, 1 staff member to cover restaurant, lounge bar etc. Let the hotel down. Raised concerns with hotel on departure, and action was started, a pity could be so much better.

"Pastures Hotel Another Excellent Stay"
Rob D, 01 Août 2016

Just returned from a weekend at the Pastures coupled with a trip to Doncaster races. It is nice to stay at an independent hotel that the owners are activley part of running and take so much pride in. Some Best Western Hotels maybe questionable but nothing is too much trouble here even down to a couple of tips on the horses. Yes the rooms are getting a little tired but they are not charging 5 star money and to be honest it is far better than lots of "superior offerings" I have stayed at. This is a good hotel with an excellent pub across the carpark with meals that the proverbial pit pony would struggle with and all for a good price. To summarise excellet value for money, exceptional local staff who care you will not be disappointed.

"Disappointing and poor value for money"
530paul731, 28 Juillet 2016

stayed here for one night in July 2016, hotel looks great from the outside, but rooms look tired and have no air conditioning. My room was at 25 degrees according to the temp controller on the wall. Small windows meant it was difficult to cool the room down. Breakfast was ok but staff seemed to enjoy talking about their holidays rather than serving customers.Overall at £67 I expected a bit more.

susan A, 26 Juillet 2016

Freezing in the rooms very very dark and not spacious for the family room we had wouldnt boom again it was daughter wedding as well so we would have expected more to the rooms roomy and the fact pple come from down south to stay so felt a bit shown up to be honest

"Quite suprised"
00paul00, 25 Juillet 2016

Last minute booking as all hotels were fully booked in and around rotherham for saturday (yes i did say rotherham!) lovely hotel, lots of free parking, eat or drink in hotel or cross over carpark to a very nice restaurant/bar..easy quick check in,receptionist very helpfull, rooms very clean with comfy bed and a huge tv..taxi reasonable £10 into doncaster town centre, would certainly stay here again.

"lovely place"
Tina S, 24 Juillet 2016

hotel is good for short stay away , good that they have pastures lodge pub and restaurant across car park there menu is great staff very helpful maybe could do with air con would recommend staying here

"OK for a business hotel"
Anton S, 13 Juillet 2016

The best thing about this hotel is probably the breakfast. Checkout is also efficient. Rooms feel somewhat dated, but are clean. It's really aimed at business users and as such fulfils that requirement.

"Hotel excellent, but beware of the booking system"
Andrew H, 11 Juillet 2016

Hotel was well up to Best Western standards. However, the booking was changed from 2 single beds to one double bed without any notification from the Best Western booking system. Fortunately it was my Wife accompanying out teenage daughter. Take care when booking and check before leaving on the trip

visitor969, 29 Juin 2016

What a shame that this hotel is definitely deteriorating. Bedrooms rather tired bordering on tatty but clean and comfortable beds Ample free parking Pleasant site with easy access to motorways The staff are lovely but the manager needs training in customer care and manners. Choice of restaurants on site Pastures lodge serving good basic food at reasonable prices. Bar and waiting staff Pleasant and efficient

"Great Hotel / Unhelpful Staff"
DaveLorraine913, 28 Juin 2016

We stayed at this Hotel over the weekend in order to attend Doncaster Races/Tom Jones Concert. On the whole, the Hotel, Grounds, Room, Food and most staff were excellent! Pity the lady on reception when booking in wasn't the same along with the breakfast staff who had a struggle in smiling! We had booked 2 rooms only to be told there was only one booked. When this was challenged, the receptionist replied - "the hotel is full, I can't do anything about that, you'll have to contact booking.com" even though there was a couple in front of us who had booked the wrong day (arrived a day early) but were being given a room!!! We were then asked if there was another name the booking was under? When we provided another name (unaware it had been booked in a diff name) we were then told, no nothing under that name either. 5 minutes later, the booking was found under that name. We were then told that the rooms were both "double" and not 1x double & 1x twin as booked. This was challenged with the member of staff who then said..."yes I can see that it's in your notes, but we don't check the notes".......? What's the use of having them then!?! We then asked if she could provide an extra quilt cover as one of the party would now have to sleep on the floor - the result..? we were given a mattress cover. So upon returning in the early hours of the morning, the party had to sleep on the carpet with a mattress protector as cover. I can't give the name of the staff member as her hair was strategically placed over her name badge! Shame that the customer service spoiled a lovely hotel.

"A Good welcome"
jgwhite2016, 28 Juin 2016

Superb hotel, just right for a travel break or even longer. Right by the canal for an easy walk. Not expensive. Excellent service in the restaurant and as a Coeliac I was welcomed by the chef. Include free use of the nearby leisure centre

"Reasonable place to stay"
Chris H, 23 Juin 2016

I had just one night and have no complaints. it is a perfectly reasonable place to stay. Being a modern hotel it has little character but is very clean, well appointed and perfectly adequate. I would stay again

"Really Nice Hotel 5 Stars from us both"
CUMBRIAVIEW, 08 Juin 2016

We were really pleased with our choice of Hotel with The Best Western Pastures Excellent location Really Nice Room with a view over the Grounds.. Very Quiet.. Bed was Very Comfortable Just what we like. The staff couldn't have been more helpful as we had a slight issue on arrival which was resolved within Three Minutes can't complain about that...Large TV good WiFi. Did I mention that the Bed was comfy? Food was of Great Quality and plenty of choice Steak was done to Perfection.and Very reasonably priced . Buffet Breakfast which is our preferred Choice was very tasty, in fact one of the best breakfasts we have had .There was a Wide canal at rear of Hotel and managed to spot a Kingfisher on a walk in the glorious sunshine. Really Friendly People here ..Not just in the Hotel In the Area, Made us both very welcome so would definitely like to come back again sometime.

"Shame as hotel wonderful"
Jacandhow, 07 Juin 2016

We stayed here last July on our way up to Durham, on that occasion we had room 18, it was very large and was a family room, but as we asked for a twin room and it was free they gave it to us. This year however we were given a twin bedded room, which we found out was actually a conference room, that could also be used as a bedroom. It was very large with a nice size TV, but the twin beds came out of the wardrobe, and creaked every time you moved, they were quite comfortable, but the constant creaking kept us up most of the night. We were supposed to return the following week on our way home. After contacting head office between them and the manager we were changed to another hotel in Worksop. The hotel staff are all great, they all have smiles on their faces, the restaurant is very good indeed, we had a really nice meal at a very reasonable cost as they take the Tastecard, but even without that it would not be expensive.

"Great Stay"
foxy1993, 28 Mai 2016

Excellent service and staff all very helpful. Very comfortable bed and lovely room while working away from home. Bar/restaurant across the car park was lovely with good food and hospitality. Will certainly be visiting again soon

"GREAT FRIENDLY HOTEL"
Stewart B, 23 Mai 2016

Excellent hotel to stay at whilst on business or pleasure. Great Hotel, excellent staff, clean well appointed, and excellent on site Hotel owned Bar and Restaurant...or you could simply dine and drink in the Hotel...I sampled both, couldn't have been happier with either.

"Good hotel"
desmond j, 22 Mai 2016

Stayed here for one night bed and breakfast. Attractive looking building in very pleasant surroundings which were quiet and well kept.Bedroom was fairly badic but clean, tidy and a comfortable bed. Free wi-fi was of a reasonable speed. Initial greeting from the young lady on reception (approx.4.00pm Friday 20th May) was very friendly and efficient and the breakfast the following morning was fresh, tasty and efficiently presented by a very pleasant team; the only negative we found was the bar service on return in the evening which was lacklustre which when combined with lack of stock of basic mixers eg american dry was disappointing. However despite this we would definitely stay again if in the area.

"Pleasant Pastures"
Les B, 20 Mai 2016

Great hotel, friendly, professional and efficient. Stay at this hotel regular when in the area mainly on business, but also have stayed for pleasure. Staff are all excellent. Breakfast very good. Rooms comfortable. I would recommend this hotel every time.

"very pleasant hotel"
Taffybruce, 18 Mai 2016

excellent breakfast pleasant and helpfull staff would recommend. My wife and i stayed for one night and will certainly return.Quiet and relaxing good hotel for Doncaster sales about 20 mins drive sat vav usefull

"Very friendly place to stay"
Barry R, 03 Mai 2016

Very nice hotel. The staff in particular were very friendly and dealt with requests swiftly. The family room we had was a good size, and clean. The hotel is located in a quiet area, no problems with noise from outside, which allowed us to sleep with the window open, which was a big plus.

"Stunning Hotel"
Amazoniancha, 02 Mai 2016

Well we stayed here as a couple on 30th April 2016, whilst my partner was attending a course for the weekend in the local area. Rooms are spacious, beds super bounced, and a 42in Smart TV, wow. We was not impressed with the Saturday night Al La Carte menu, as every came with Chips, Potatoes or Rice. So we ventured across the car park to the Pastures Lodge. This is a extension of the hotel, but basically a pub/restaurant. Well we were not disappointed. My partner did not want any form of potato, but staff were happy to replace it with a side dish of mixed vegetables at no extra charge. Both our mains were cooked to perfection and enjoyed. We cannot fault the staff for their helpfulness, and decided to stay for a second night. The second night we enquired on food, but after ordering, the chicken wings arrived smothered in a coating. Again, the staff were happy to reject the dish and refund. All in all, this place is in a lively location and we cannot fault the service or the rooms. Thank you to all at BW Pastures Hotel & Lodge! We will be back. x

"Good all round hotel "
mikelaketahoe, 27 Avril 2016

I stayed here for just one night, wished it could have been longer. Very pleasant hotel in good location with easy access to the east coast motorway network. Room was clean and well serviced with large flat screen TV, kettle, drinks, biscuits etc. In the same complex there was also a great pub and restaurant called the Pastures lodge which served very good food at very reasonable prises. I hope I get chance to use this hotel again in the future. The staff at both venues were also very pleasant and helpful.

"Very Good"
Chris R, 10 Avril 2016

Stayed for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast.A nice location rooms very pleasant, and an excellent choice of breakfast. There is more choice in the pastures lodge for Lunch & Dinner which was reasonably priced and very nice food.

"Good place to stay"
LoughboroughGeeBee, 10 Avril 2016

Stayed following a friends anniversary celebration. Hotel decor quite standard but very clean. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and above all engaging with a good sense of humour. Breakfast outstanding and plenty of it. Would recommend to others. A classic case of its not the surroundings but those who are in it that make for a good experience.

"PASTURES HOTEL"
excaliburSeaford, 08 Avril 2016

Good night stay at reasonable prices, would recommend for business and pleasure in accessible location for Motorways and parks. Bed was very comfortable and a good sense of cleanliness all around. Beats Premier Lodges and restaurant meals are also good value, breakfast was good with varied selection at no extra charge.

"I just love it here"
London59traveller, 23 Mars 2016

A small comfortable hotel. You get a feeling of a family run affair even though I don't believe it is. Always made to feel very welcome and definitely prefer over the other chains in the area. Breakfast could do with a little improvement but good value for money

"Well worth staying "
Jazzeeja, 08 Mars 2016

Stayed for 2 nights whilst on a course at Doncaster College. Lovely hotel rooms large and clean. Breakfast good and staff friendly. Pub across the car park with reasonably priced food or restaurant on site which again wasn't expensive (didn't try the restaurant). Just 5 minutes drive from the college at High Melton so an ideal situation. Would definitely stay again.

"CONVENIENT LOCATION GOOD PRICE"
Neil S, 26 Février 2016

I stayed at this hotel for business 1 night. Exterior of the Hotel is very nice but I would say the interior does not match. Room was clean but a bit out of date and nothing special. ate in the restaurant in the hotel it was quite busy and only one waite/barman so he was rushed off his feet. I felt a bit sorry for him actually as it was too much work for one person. Breakfast was OK buffet with cereals. WIFI was ok on the ground floor but couldnt get a signal in the room which was a bit frustrating!

"valentines eveing 2016"

"Valentines 2016"
Brian R, 14 Février 2016

Booked the Valentines special here ,staying Saturday night to include 5 course meal.finished meal, which was really nice.my partner then became really ill, nothing to do with meal, which resulted in her being admitted to hospital.i returned to hotel after spending all night at hospital,to collect our clothes from room and collect car,so I could return to hospital.bearing in mind we did not use our room and did not have breakfast I was a bit shocked to be presented with a bill for £22 for drinks we had during meal.i thought the least they would have done under the circumstances would be to waive this.left a very sour taste, will never get another penny of my money.

"work stay over"
manstondrive, 08 Février 2016

after a long drive from blackpool we were greeted with a smile and quickly checked in. the restaurant was warm and comfortable and the menu offered an excellent range of choices. checkout next morning after an early breakfast was quick and trouble free. its great breakfast was available from 07.45 on a Sunday.

"Excellent"
Shane M, 08 Février 2016

Recently me and family stopped at the pastures for a few weeks and have to say all the staff from the reception to the cleaners were absolutely excellent to us brilliant customer service . The rooms were excellent big beds good TV with sky sports food brilliant would definitely recommend

"Flying visit "
James C, 06 Février 2016

Lovely location, next to a popular family pub. Design and external presentation good. Breakfast was good and hot, staff very courteous and helpful. WiFi strength was intermittent (room 22) and feel that, although well presented, the rooms need a more modern presentation especially the bathrooms. Quite noisy in the mornings, if going would suggest ask for a room further away from reception. However, good value for money and enjoyed our stay.

"Would stay here again"
John C, 22 Janvier 2016

Stayed at the hotel for four nights whilst working in the area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable and well-equipped rooms, with small but lovely restaurant within (Reeds Restaurant). Across the car park and part of the hotel is the Pastures Lodge bar/restaurant and function room. We ate here in the evenings and the food was excellent with a great atmosphere. The only downside I found was that for three nights I had issues with the free wifi, where I kept losing connection with both of my devices. Other than that, I'd definitely stay here again.

"Christmas Night Out"
Steve B, 19 Décembre 2015

We did not actually stay at the Hotel and this review is for those thinking of attending any future Christmas celebrations. There were ten of us in our party and based on previous experiences was really looking forward to it. We visited on Saturday, 19th December and behind the week-end before Christmas, our expectations were high. The food and service perhaps rated above the given score of three, but the whole experience was sadly let down by the party atmosphere or should I say lack of it. The food was good and although there was a distinct lack of waitresses, the service was good. As advertised, there was a male entertainer. He was good and provided a nice but quiet ambient backdrop. But, by around 10 o'clock, he had wrapped up and gone, taking with him any hint of a party / Christmas atmosphere. I think there was some Christmas songs playing in the background, but they were barely audible. As the group organiser, I felt for my friends as what we imagined to be a Christmas Celebration, turned into just a quiet meal out. Would I attend there again? For a quiet intimate meal, Probably. As part of a Christmas celebration? No.

"Service with a smile"
CMTWoking, 19 Décembre 2015

Had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The staff deserve a special mention for their friendliness and professionalism. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with flat screen TV and free wifi which worked well. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. We had dinner in Reeds Restaurant which was good value and well cooked though with a fairly limited menu. We also had a meal at the Pastures Lodge, which resembles a Wetherspoons pub and was rather noisy, though it does have a good range of beers. The hotel has a huge car park and is well located for visiting Doncaster and Leeds,

"Good Value Hotel near Rotherham"
Simon M, 17 Décembre 2015

I was very impressed with this hotel which was good value and had a big car park, free internet, large room with 40 inch Flat screen, Free view TV, large walk in shower and a big desk to work at. There is the A La Cart expensive RED's Restaurant or you can walk to the pub in the car cark where there is a great choice of meals for excellent prices. Very quiet and overall excellent for the price paid.

"Friendly and functional"
Darren L, 16 Décembre 2015

Use this hotel fairly regularly for business. Classic best western with above average staff. Large pub across the road does pub grub which gets busy but is cheap and does real ale, it's a BW lodge but think weatherspoons style. Hotel offers a quieter food and drink option. Rooms are spacious, clean and functional. Free WiFi with smart plasma TV for netflix etc. They can give you a free gym pass for the local leisure centre which is a mile away. Breakfast is buffet style with attentive staff. All is all a good option for location vs money. Will continue to use

"A little trip away with work..."
Louise P, 12 Décembre 2015

I have to say i was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It was all booked through my work as we had to visit an office nearby. Room incredibly spacious and a wonderful 42" TV was on the wall. Very modern bathroom, bed wasn't to my taste (but you can't please everyone). Coffee and tea making facilities in the room! Breakfast was self service with full English, continental and cereals and pastries on offer - excellent choice, and the freshly brewed coffee was always a welcome delight. Dinner in the evening had a vast choice for every pallet! Managed to work my way through the menu as i was there for a week... Good location as well and as i had the window open most nights, minimal noise from the road and the pub across the car park..if i ever have to come up that way again, would be more than happy to stay there. Thanks for a great stay :-)

"Comfortable enough for a night"
ifand, 11 Décembre 2015

Reasonable price for a night with its own restaurant and another on site. Room wasn't big but was comfortable enough. Good size TV. Very comfortable bed with nice linen. Smallish bathroom with the basics. Free wifi was disappointing. OK for laptop but hopeless with iPad. Decent buffet breakfast.

"Fantastic Hotel"
Ollie026, 10 Décembre 2015

Very very pleased with this Hotel excellent service and friendly helpful staff, comfortable well equipped rooms with Tea/Coffee making facilites and free biscuits, very comfortable beds, free WIFI,great breakfasts with plenty of choice to suit all tastes, free toiletries in the bathroom and lovely fluffy towels, large Flat Screen TV nice lounge bar and a lovely Pub on the site and lots of free parking, would highly recommed staying at this wonderful hotel which was so reasonably priced

"Avoid this hotel"
xyz238, 03 Décembre 2015

Last minute booking made at the weekend, awful experience, avoid this hotel!!! Incompetent staff members on check in desk who blame extremely poor customer service on their 'computer system'. We used a third party website to book the room, at check in we were charged again, when queried and asked for a refund the gentleman at the desk suggested we phone our bank as there must be fraudulant activity on our card!! It took over an hour to resolve, and was only rectified by customer services of booking website we used calling the hotel. No apology was offered from the hotel who admitted afterwards that they were at fault and that they should not take payment after all, 'its a new computer system'. I followed up with an email to the General Manager, after no reply for 4 days I called to speak to her. I was told that the 'computer system has been down' and that I should send my email again, then the manager would contact me. I asked to speak to the manager rather than email again and it was repeated, please forward your email again. A General Manager who wont even speak to customers! This was my first, and will be last stay at a Best Western hotel. All we were looking for was an apology from the hotel, what we got was a list of excuses.

"Lovely room and staff"
Joanne R, 29 Novembre 2015

My partner and i stayed here after a night out at the nearby pastures lodge pub we had an enjoyable stay and the staff couldnt do enough for us the room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable we will definetly stay here again in the future

"20 minutes to Race course"
FrizDurham, 29 Novembre 2015

Booked this hotel as we were going to races. Average hotel in every respect. Rooms are clean and of a fair size. Breakfast again average buffet. Couldn't book meal in restaurant because person in charge was not on duty and the restaurant is not operated by the hotel therefore reception staff could not book us a table. Had dinner at Pastures pub/restaurant across car park - this was good value for money with very large portions. About 20 minutes to race course and Doncaster city centre. There is a good park and ride system in operation as you aproach from motorway heading south.

"Bad breakfast"
memphisgeorge, 26 Novembre 2015

We have stayed in this hotel many times as we have relatives in the area. The rooms are fine and the staff are very nice. The breakfast used to be great, all local produce freshly cooked with a menu with alternatives. They have now changed to the standard horrible breakfast. Cheep sausages, cheep bacon, terrible hash browns and all served cold and un appetising. For £75 a night they could make a bit of effort. And please sort that air conditioning noise out in reception! Wifi is non existent too.

"pre-operation night out."
derrickwheewall, 22 Novembre 2015

Stayed for one night at this hotel prior to going into local hospital for an eye operation.Greeted on arrival by a very pleasant ,smiling receptionist. The hotel reception area is very nice and laid out well. Our room was brilliant.Very spacious and a very large double bed. Very comfortable too. Modern television and tea and coffee facilities. Heating very good as well. wife and I had a meal with friends at the hotel pub on the other side of the car park. Prices were very good and the meals were huge. so much on the plates that we had to ask for a doggie bag which they gladly provided. Would definitely use this hotel group again.

"Brilliant stay"
Natasha J, 03 Novembre 2015

I stayed for one night and was really pleased with it. The room was a decent size, and the bed was really comfortable! All the staff are really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was absolutely gorgeous! Would definitely stay again!

"Excellent breakfast!"
Elizabeth S, 27 Octobre 2015

Stayed 2 nights for a family wedding, room decent size, the bed was very comfortable even if it was a little too bouncy for my taste, good sized shower in bathroom. Overall clean though decor is a bit bland and faded, reception lounge area we found a to be cold and draughty, so not really a place to relax in. Female reception staff we found to be helpful and smiling, the male receptionist, hmmm not so much. The best part of our stay was the breakfast which we thought was excellent and served in very pleasant dining room, well worth paying extra for.

"Better than expected."
stuntboys-dad, 16 Octobre 2015

Nice quality room, easily better than Travelodge, probably better than Premier Inn too. Very clean, and there was a modern bathroom with huge shower. Restaurant looked very inviting for dinner but we had other plans. Breakfast was well worth the extra paid though.

"'OK'"
StaffordJas, 16 Octobre 2015

Large carpark but could do with a sign pointing out which building is the actual hotel. Most hotel guests we saw arriving ,like us, were going straight to the building with 'Main Entrance' above the door which was actually the pub. Some smokers outside directed us across the carpark to the hotel building. Receptionist gave us the keys to the room of another member of our party who was yet to arrive, at first. Had to give that back and be given ours. Then just vague directions to our room, resulting in some locals in the bar having to stop us walking into the kitchens with our cases! Went down for drinks and sat in the reception area whilst waiting for our table in the dining room. The male receptionist didn't even look at us , just kept staring into space. Only stairs and no lift, but there are some ground floor rooms as well. So worth requesting one of those if you think you would struggle with the stairs, as not asked if you would like help with cases. Clean enough and decent size rooms. Shower floor very slippy and stained rubber bath mat provided in cupboard under sink didn't stick, so would have been even more dangerous. Toilet seat kept slipping to the side....need to invest in slightly better quality ones! Nicely stocked tea tray. No ironing facilities in room. A safe in the wardrobe but didn't use that. Comfy bed and nice big pillows .A bit of thought could have gone into where the mirror above the dressing table was situated. Had to stand whilst doing my hair as the mirror was too high up to see into when sitting on the chair. Meal in the hotel dining room was very nice when it eventually arrived after about an hours wait. Didn't come and ask us if we wanted any more drinks during that long wait .Main course was then served seconds after the first course dishes were taken away. Not a large choice of drinks in the hotel bar, so we went across to the pub bar for the last few drinks. Breakfast self service and a few items like my nice big bowl of creamy porridge brought on request. Comfortable enough hotel, but not one that I would rush to re-book .

"Lovely room and fabulous breakfast"
Mickjenn65, 15 Octobre 2015

Stopped here for a friends wedding. Cost £79 for B&B - well worth it. Friendly staff Great room, comfortable. En-suite had a double shower - so much better than an over-bath one. All lovely and clean. Comfy bed. Breakfast was probably the best I've ever had at a hotel (I've had quite a few). Full English, lovely fresh tea and really pleasant staff. I can't fault this hotel.

"you will not get better for the money?"
fizzyman, 14 Octobre 2015

best value quality hotel i have ever found, ample free parking, friendly staff, great food, quite location but not remote, i genuinely do not understand how it has ever received a bad review, i would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody, you will not find better value for money any where

"Poor Service"
Adie79, 06 Octobre 2015

We booked the suite at this hotel, based on the exterior of this hotel we were excited but it all went downhill from there, firstly the reception was not very welcoming[icy cold],the receptionist did not smile or acknowledge us for at least a couple of minutes..."hate to think it was because of the color of our skin"..secondly even though it clearly states that a porter is on hand to help with your bags,we were not offered this service and when we did ask, the receptionist told us he could not leave his desk as he was alone which i find quite strange as such a big establishment surely would not have one person manning the entire hotel especially at Check In. The receptionist then directed us to our suite and on arrival after having gone up a flight of stairs with heavy bags discovered what i am not ashamed of stating was an over priced, glorified double room, i have stayed in many suites across the country and this has to be the worst of the lot. Then we asked for some ice after having settled in as it was too late to go anywhere else and we were told to go and get it ourselves from the bar! We left the hotel room and didn't come back until quite late and surprise, surprise the night porter was no different from the receptionist earlier in the day, just walked past us with no acknowledgement whatsoever. On the day of our checkout we were rudely awakened by a drilling noise from the room next to ours at 7am, we then rang reception and it carried on for 5 minutes then stopped. No apologies were made for the inconvenience. This is the worst experience i have ever had and will not be returning at any point in my life and along with my friends and family and other acquaintances. A really poor standard of service and outrageous price for a suite which offers nothing especially at £120 per night!

"overnight B&B"
visitor969, 28 Septembre 2015

Ideally situated just off A1,M1,M18. Warm welcome from obliging staff. large comfortable rooms with clean bath/shower rooms. Good self service breakfast. Toaster takes some time. Décor a little tired but good value for money. it is good to have a choice of eatery pub or hotel.

"Excellent Value for Money"
Stiffstiff, 15 Septembre 2015

Needed somewhere to stay that wasn't painful on the wallet when going to Donny races. This place is ideal, such good value for money, big rooms, lovely bathrooms, clean enough. The breakfast was superb! Highly Highly recommend. It's not 5* but it doesn't claim to be. Batter than any Travel Inn etc.

"Be prepared to share your room..."
mg1502, 29 Août 2015

Stayed one night in this hotel with my girlfriend in room 34. First impressions were really good. The room looked clean with an extremely comfortable bed and a big flat screen TV mounted to the wall. However we found throughout our stay that things weren't as they should be. Even though it is advertised that there is air conditioning, there is only a heating system, which won't change from 25 degrees, which in summer is very uncomfortable (thankfully the window opens and we found a fan hidden under a dust sheet in the wardrobe). Secondly there isn't much selection in terms of TV channels (unless you're a sports fan). There are limited number of channels, yet all the sky sports channels are included, but with varying levels of reception. A simple Freeview integrated TV would be better. My girlfriend noticed a spider on the top of the wall and as she went to throw it out the window, she noticed that there was a large amount of spiders and cobwebs around the window. This was very off putting and made us a little uncomfortable as the room suddenly didn't feel very clean. We would have requested to change rooms, but we had been told on check in that the hotel was fully booked that night due to a wedding party using Reeds restaurant in the hotel. Surely housekeeping would have noticed this and acted to remove these from the room. We didn't sleep well that night, but thankfully the breakfast the next day went a small way to make up for it.

"Terrible customer service"
Ljs78, 24 Août 2015

Stayed here after a family wedding with our four year old son only to be woken at 07:45 by the sound of tiles been removed with a grinder down the hall. Managements response "Although they started the work early it was at a reasonable time for it to be started for the work that was being carried out" Reasonable to wake guests with building work at 07:45 with no prior warning! Disgraceful.
