Resumen de la reserva
Rooms very clean, bed and bedding comfortable, shower was great! Fantastic decor in the rooms and around the hotel. The only thing that was a little short of my expectation was the breakfast, however a large group of hunters just left so maybe didn't get restocked before we arrived. Definitely would be my first choice when in the area again
When we checked in, the front desk personnel was dreary. We had two rooms, one had no light, nothing, pitch black. I complained, and I said I wanted a lamp. She said she could do nothing. Talk to the manager tomorrow. I threatened a bad review and a dispute of charges with my credit card company. There were lamps all over the lobby areas. They were not plugged in, and some had no bulbs. Suddenly a man appeared with a lamp. He took this from a 1 star review to a 3 star review. Read other reviews before staying here. See photos.
Average hotel, lamp and hair dryer did not work. Asked for cleaning one of the three days we stayed, they never got around to doing our room. Staff really did not care if we were ther or not. Will seek another lodging option the next time we are in town.
The lighting in the rooms is awful. Very dark rooms. The front staff is extremely rude and will just look at you instead of helping you. I have never been to a hotel where the staff was so off-putting. We will never stay here again just due to the staff alone. Nothing to do with lack of lighting or smells of dead rodents in the hall. The staff is what would deter us from ever staying again.
Should not be associated with BW brand- Rooms are dated and lacking decent televisions. Breakfast room is poor and breakfast experience is 2 out of ten compared to other properties. I have stayed at dozens of BW properties across North America and this is definitely one of the worst
Absolutely horrible. Broken luggage cart. No available electrical sockets, dark room, hair dryer and coffeemaker broken. Breakfast almost inedible. Room old, dark and dingy. Shower barely worked. No Manager on site. Worst Best Western ever experienced
Overcharged! If you go there, make sure to get an itemized receipt for charges BEFORE you pay because you won't get one until after you've left town otherwise. The sofa bed was too uncomfortable to sleep on, and the "hot" breakfast selection was under cooked. Air filters needed changed. The hotel looked old and shabby and did not have a designated dog walking area. You could only have one person sitting on the sofa and seeing the TV.
Great appearance in hotel lobby and bar area. Rooms old and tired, dark, not enough lighting. Long walks to elevators. Carpet in our room had rates in it. Breakfast very disappointing. No half and half, no bagels, or English muffins, eggs were mixed with potatoes. Bacon not cooked to rubbery.
Maybe that's a hard maybe not where I would stay again, rooms were terrible service was terrible amenities were terrible rip in the shower curtain cracked window elevator sounded terrible stair well was full of garbage. No bedding on or for the hide a bed. Tap was messed up spraying all goofy. Key cards for family not working, doors to hotel never locked
This hotel was once a very nice and tastefully appointed hotel. It is now showing its age. The bathroom caulking showed signs of mold behind it. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms any longer. Everything worked fine. The complementary breakfast was exceptionally good with eggs, sausage, diced potatoes, and a variety of juices. The staff was very busy but friendly.
I just checked in. After staying two nights at the Best Western in Bismarck, I decided to stay here. Yuck! The walk to the room was depresing. My room stinks of humid air. Bed feels humid and sticky. The a/c is up real high and was freezing upon arrival. Disapponted with all the dirty carpet everywhere. Pick another place.
This place is disgusting. It should honestly be shut down………….. ………………. ……………………………………………………………. ……………………………………………….. ….. ………………. ……………………………………………………………. …………………………………………… ….. ………………. ……………………………………………………………. ……………………………………………
Our inside room was very dirty, stinking air conditioner, lumpy old mattresses and pillows , dim light bulbs, broken Tv and coffeemaker, no bathroom fan, burned lampshade. It was a dark creepy room. Lousy breakfast, nothing hot, a few small sugary pastries.
Breakfast is a joke. Hotel is very outdated. Water fountains are out of order. Stairways were covered with dog hair and dirt. Had to come back 3 times to run credit card for room. There is a reason why we stopped staying here but didn't remember name when booking. Will not return ever.
The Roosevelt Grand Dakota hotel is dirty, dingy and out dated. The front desk is not very friendly or helpful. Roofers were above us stomping in the early morning. The TV was not usable and had sticky stuff all over it. Shower curtain was filthy - gross!
The facility was beautifully decorated. Very spacious rooms...big! Comfortable beds and pillows. Delicious breakfast in the dining room area. The pool area looked wonderful, but we didn't have time to enjoy it. I would definitely Stay here again!
not sure where to start, someone had been in our room previously and cooked, the whole room, including our clothes smelled like food when we left, one bed's pillows were so disgustingly smelling like food and grease I had to get new pillow cases and sleep with only a sheet on , Airconditioner noisy , falling out of the wall, carpet had food stains all over it , the worst lit room I have ever stayed in , broken lights , broken chair , DIISGUSTING
My wife and I found this hotel to be a very nice facility. Our room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was NOT as good as other Best Western hotels even though the fare was similar. Front desk staff were professional and friendly.
This place is horrible! The carpet is dirty, the rooms are dusty, and door 3 to the hotel does not lock, allowing strangers access to the hotel. And to too it off, they triple taxed the $25 dog fee so that it totaled over $35!!!! Don't waste your money staying here!!
Really nice location and accommodation with added benefit of being very affordable. Close to lots of dining options. Really pleasant stay. Convenient for visiting the park which is within 25 minutes. Lots of parking. Indoor pool available for those with children.
If you love the overwhelming smell of urine this is the place for you it will make your nose burn. Staff will knock on your door to clean it at about 0800. Hours Breakfast had 3 items. Cereal eggs or sausage all stale or undercooked. The coffee was good tho
We've stayed before and we came back because of the large family room. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. It hasn't been cleaned in years. Everything is broken and disgustingly filthy. We all left sick from the dirty, moldy A/C units. Mgmt please contact me!
Picture are deceiving, the place is old! The hallway stinks!! The room has had some renovating over the years but it's not impressive . I am very disappointed with this hotel to say the least. Staff seemed very unfriendly, I will stay elsewhere if I ever come back,
Everything was old, run down and broken. The floors and furniture were stained and sticky and the rooms smelled. Never again.
Room was dusty, not enough towels, outer door was not secure and anyone cloud enter the building all night, pool was ok but no towels available (got some on my own from the laundry room), breakfast was very sparse and unappetizing.
The room was affordable and comfortable and the hotel's location was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful and I had no complaints other than the free breakfast. The food was horrible. Do not waste your time with the free breakfast, go to McDonald's or something.
Room was clean and comfortable. check in was fast and frond desk was helpful. The pool area looked nice but we did not use it. Breakfast was OK usual for hotel. Close to places to eat dinner. This is the second time we have stayed here so would come back
The rooms are large and spotless. The bed is very comfortable. Everything works as expected. The breakfast what really good, scrambled eggs, sausage, today, donuts, juice, yogurt and more. The pool and spa tub are fantastic. The staff is super helpful and friendly. We extended our stay.
A Best Western Affiliate so the venue was different than what I am used to. A large place, with bar, restaurant, small casino like setting, with pool tables & another swimming area......kinda like going to Vegas! Room could have been cleaner, (not vacuumed) but made do. Hard to locate as signage is still under Roosevelt Grand etc. Breakfast was lacking & I probably won't return or recommend. Staff was very pleasant but repairs need to be made. Front door entrance needs immediate attention before someone turn an ankle!
Terribly disappointed in this hotel. It was our worst experience with the BW brand. It was difficult to find your way around, because the hotel lacked signs. The breakfast was not good, coffee was terrible.
Pool area is nice. Rooms are dated but acceptable Breakfast doesn't have many choices but it can get you by if you need it to.
Overall great experience. Nice and clean property with great amenities. The staff is friendly and kind. The breakfast was good with several menu options for all. All of the common areas are clean and modern.
We used this hotel while hunting in western ND. The hotel is somewhat dated. The bathroom fan does not keep up with shower steam. There is some mold/mildew staining around edges of tub surround. Rooms are very basic. Staff is hospitable and service is good. For a stay where we would spend more time in the hotel I might consider a different hotel, but for our purposes all we really needed was a clean bed each night. The hotel met our needs for this trip. The hotel could be improved with some updating/renovations.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and spacious inside, and just a fabulous place for large meetings or conventions. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. We stayed in a King Suite with a jacuzzi tub, and the only thing I can say about the tub is that it was really narrow and hard to get out of. Also the water was NOT hot. Bed was comfortable and sitting area overlooked the swimming pool - indoors. It's the first time I've stayed somewhere without windows. Would have loved to have stayed another couple nights.
Beautiful hotel. Clean, spacious room, very friendly and helpful staff. And they graciously accept pets. Very nice pool area and hot tub. just an overall excellent place to stay. Convenient location and plenty of parking. Restaurants, all types of stores nearby.
We were here for a wedding and all I can say was it was average. The lobby and halls were great, we were able to sit on comfortable furniture and it was great. The hotel was clean, the beds were clean all was great on that part, it is just an aging building. carpet was coming up in some areas, but not something that was a tripping hazzard. every one who worked there was friendly. i would stay again,
All the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean except a few food crumbs under the bed. (Our pup found them) The pool is clean and well maintained. We will choose this hotel again if we have the need in that area.
Great place to stay if you have a pet, children, a couple, solo or an event. Great indoor pool and hot tub. Free coffee 24/7, nice snack area, and a bar good food, and even a black jack table, also pool table, and darts. Nice breakfast in the morning. A great place to stay if you want to go to the North and South Roosevelt parks! A must see!
This is a huge former conference center called the Roosevelt Grand. We were blown away by the size and grandeur for a Sure Stay property. Huge pool with pool side rooms. Rooms were spacious and the staff accommodating. If you are going to or returning from Yellowstone this is the place to stay for the value.
Very convenient place to stay with choices for restaurants close by. Room very clean. No noise during the night. I didn't use pool, but it looked nice. Decor of hotel is attractive with western themed art. I would definitely come back here.
Very poorly run hotel Mold in bath tub Light bulbs missing, very bad lighting Breakfast was a joke, dried up sausage, powered eggs. Weak coffee Couldn't find manager Elevator didn't work Pealing wall paper I took pictures of how bad this place was
We booked online somewhat last minute. There were many less expensive options but for a few bucks we thought we'd get something nice. The maintenance was pretty poor. The first room's shower was broken and the TV did not work. They did move us to a better room but that entailed picking up all our stuff and schlepping it down the hall after we'd already settled in. We'd been travelling a while so we thought we'd just order a pizza for dinner. I Asked what was around and the front desk person told me all the chains deliver but the bar restaurant made "home made " pizzas. What we received was a premade crust with sauce out of a jar. Dominos would have been a much better choice. The last disappointment was the free breakfast. I travel a lot. I stay in very expensive places and some pretty inexpensive places at times. Particularly when travelling with the family I book a hotel with free breakfast for time savings and economy. This was among the worst I've seen. Although they had the normal waffles and eggs the food was uneatable. Even the cereal was stale. We would have been better off at any of the common chains that hold the facilities to brand standards.
Check-in very friendly. Glen was helpful and accommodated us with a second floor room away from the pool area. The room was clean, spacious, and comfy beds. The ceiling looked like it had black marks on it, and the bathroom shower was an insert that could have had a better cleaning, but otherwise. the place was quiet and had an on location lounge with ok bar food and gambling machines. Breakfast wasn't that good, soggy waffles, instant eggs with no taste, potatoes, and sausage. I'm diabetic so I didn't try any of the donuts or pastries that were set out. Week coffee too.
The hotel was really dated. Old carpeting almost everywhere, including by the pool. The pool was dingy and not well maintained. Water was dripping and ceilings were stained. If you're looking for a place to stay that is safe and clean, it's great. I don't think I would stay again, but for the one night passing through, it does the job. Breakfast was so bland and not edible. The cereal was good.
Terrible. Humid and wet. Our room faced the indoor pool with no black out curtain, so the pool was a giant night light that we did not appreciate, but in the morning, had NO light because there were only ugly, broken, vertical blinds. Several light bulbs were burned out so our room was dark and drab. Breakfast was TERRIBLE! We walked in, saw the offerings and walked out. Only half a roll of toilet paper with no additional roll. Thankfully I had a roll packed for emergencies. Happy we were only there one night.
Best Westerns are a great stay for our travels with our son and 2 dogs. Even though it was packed, our host was able to get us a ground floor (very convenient with dogs), even upgraded us to a huge, jet tub room. Everyone was able to stretch out and even run around a little. Wish there had been more available outlets. While the king bed was roomy, it was a little stiff. The sofa bed was not very comfortable for our 11 year old. Breakfast was subpar, unfortunately. The cereal was the best thing. Eggs(?) and poor quality sausage were disappointing. Very easy getting to and from room with dogs. Again, that jet tub, most appreciated from a long day of travel. Soaking in relative quiet was so relaxing!
The hotel was very quiet. Not very busy with people. Rooms were big but dated in the old side. Carpet needs replacement. Breakfast was not very good. Limited quality, basic. Nice in its day Over all met our needs for a quick stayover
I requested a change of room and they quickly arranged a room closer to the entry level. Really appreciate it !! I had several other questions and the clerk ( sorry can't remember her name) was very helpful and polite.
Good Quality for price! Conveniently located near Interstate! Clean, friendly staff, big ample rooms, and pool area amazing! Breakfast adequate. Rooms outdated but it serves our purpose of a comfortable night sleep after a full day of travel. Plenty of eating options near hotel.
not very busy during our 2 night stay very quiet in room which was very nice. our room was close to a entry and we could watch our motorcycle out of our window. the room was clean and the breakfast was ok after we put the waffles in the toaster.
Recommend the hotel as it was clean, rooms were spacious, nice indoor pool and hot tub and nice breakfast selection. Would recommend more fresh fruit for breakfast, but overall was good and the pool the first day was a little cool, but was warmer as our stay continued. Staff was excellent and very friendly and helpful!
Rooms and the bathroom need extra cleaning; pillows are uncomfortable; coffee pot was broken and not working; light bulbs need to be replaced; desk chair was dilapidated; the ECU filter needed cleaning or replacing and Breakfast is pathetic! These rooms need an extreme make over and the staff needs to improve to make these rooms inviting!!!
Not ready for prime time. Lounge food was terrifying and quality of service staff lacking. If you don't travel much this place may be ok If your needs of long tedious walking this is your hotel. One elevator poorly marked with endless hallways
had a family trip over thanksgiving, it was clean, front desk was accommodating, and breakfast was good. Has a nice bar within the facility, and enjoyed a large conference room where they were able to fully serve breakfast to many guests. even over a holiday where i would have expected to be short staffed.
If you are in Dickinson, the Grand is one of the nicer hotels to stay at. The rooms were clean, which is a must. The lounge is very nice and reasonably priced. The breakfast is okay... it's free... so you get what you pay for :) Overall, the stay was pleasant.
The roomed smelled terrible. There was something crusty on the sheets that I can only assume was bodily fluids. Breakfast was a cold burrito and some fruit that should have been thrown out a week prior. Would not recommend at all.
Cobwebs by entry door. One coffee pod for morning. Unfinished trim around bathtub. Accessible accommodations good. Need EV available. For reg EV and Tesla. 3rd entry door was broke, but was taped to allow anyone access.
Would not recommend. Deteriorating steps, questionable security, potential tripping hazards in stair hallway, dirty room, lampshade deterioration, musty smell in room and hallway, and dim lighting in room.
Hotel was fine, definitely aged. Our room was clean but musty. You could see water damage on the roof and walls. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was skimpy and old. Pool & hot tub area was dirty/scummy. Elevator was unpredictable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a cheap, low quality hotel then this is your place. If you're looking for something nicer, don't stay here. It's like the hotel was built in the 1970s and nothing happened since. Holes in the wall, holes in the furniture, lights that don't work, worn out furniture. Just a dumpy place to stay.
Clean, quiet hotel for a great value. Need a few tweaks but a great property value for the area. I would stay there again! It is a great location if you are heading to Medora or Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
This hotel is just average. Rooms were OK but lacking in lighting. Breakfast was substandard for a Best Western. The outside appearance was unattractive - needs landscaping and other amenities to improve this.
Came here after my wedding not only did I get a completely different room then I had reserved but the room was still dirty when I got in. The second you walk through the door there is a bad odor. I had reserved a balcony room and got no balcony. The front desk lady was not helpful at all !!! F this place don't waste your time or money.
Stayed at the Roosevelt Grand Dakota last night, the 13th of August. UGH. Interior room so no natural daylight, three dim lamps, TV didn't work, beetle in the bathroom, very poor breakfast selection, filthy carpet, musty odor, cavelike atmosphere throughout. Keep driving!!!!
The owner of this hotel broke into our room at midnight & had to be forcibly removed. I can only assume that he was drunk and/or possibly a pervert. He would not leave the room without me getting out of our bed and pushing him out. The front desk was of no help in the situation.
This was the worst motel I have stayed at. 1. No maid service, clean towels or room cleaning. 2. Very dirty and smelled badly. Three stains on carpet that appeared to be fecal stains from dogs.3. Bed smelled like old sweaty locker room. Shower was dirty and curtain looked like it was never cleaned. Trash and dirty towels littered the hallways the two days of or stay. 4. Security doors were not locked at night and one had a broken handle that was not repaired during our two day stay. 5. Free breakfast was very poor as there was little to choose from. 6. When we checked in we were not told that there would not be any maid service or towels replaced. They placed a sign out the next day stating there was no maid service / cleaning / towels. 7. Lady at the front desk acted mean when clean towels were requested. 8. No shampoo and only one bar of soap in the room and we were told it was due to lack of being able to get shampoo which is total BS. 9. There air conditioner as so loud it was impossible to sleep at nigh even with a pillow over our heads and it did not put out very cold air especially bad as it got to 100 degrees during our stay.
I booked this hotel after seeing that it looked like an older hotel that had had a recent update. Upon check in (late after Medora Musical), I could see that the front entrance wasn't well kept and that the approach brick was damaged and the steps were taped off. The foyer is lovely and check in was prompt however, when I asked for 2 keys I was told no. He stated they only give one because their system only allows for that. On the way to our room, the pool area was 100 degrees, and we had to cut through to access our room. Upon entering our room, the beds looked like they hadn't been replaced in many years as they were showing signs of dropping in the center. Also, food was left in our fridge (which is just another indication that attention to detail is lacking. Finally, while breakfast is included, we missed it by a couple of minutes (disappointing, but our fault). The room rate was fair but I really did hope that the photos were not just “lipstick on a pig”. Not sure I would stay here again. I would spend a few extra dollars and stay elsewhere.
Room was dirty, wrappers under the bed, told gentlemen at desk that light above sink wasn't working, he didn't seem to care nor offer to move me to a different room, spider on my sheets when I woke up in the morning, no pool towels, 3 bath towels in the room, air conditioner was loud
Nothing special about this hotel. Need some TLC inside and out. Front steps broken and roped off. Front doors not working properly. Room was dark, both in color and lighting. TV had lines through it and a broken remote. Room really needed a refresh. Hot tub was pool temperature. Front staff never even asked how our stay was. Simply said what room and do you need a receipt.
We would recommend spending the extra $30-50 a night to go else where. Crabby, unprofessional staff, dirty pool, 3 remotes for TV operation, linens were worn out, dirty walls/floors, toiletries old/used (1/2 full), breakfast was minimal/poor (lemons for fruit?). I'm writing this so no one else gets their hopes up:) Don't wast your $$:(
Was a nice hotel but there was a spider nest in the room The entire hotel only had 1 person working. Was there for a wedding and the food was great. The breakfast was not good at all, we ended up just leaving and eating somewhere else.
We had a great stay! We were in a King Suite and it was wonderful! Lots of space! Would be perfect for an extended stay. We stayed 2 nights, and it definitely exceeded our needs. Room was clean and well kept. There is a lounge onsite, and the hotel is close to several restaurants within walking distance. Very convenient location. We were right in the center of everything we needed while in Dickinson.
Bed & pillows do uncomfortable! The rooms werent bery clean, I clean for living so I see things. Found beer cans under bed , some towels were not very clean. The breakfast was not impressed. Very little to choose from.
Stayed one night on our way to Montana. The kids enjoyed the pool but that is basically where the enjoyment ended. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and had ample room and decent beds/pillows for a family of 5. The room was otherwise lackluster with damaged walls, stained furniture, a non functional TV in one room, no stocking of shampoo/conditioner and no coffee and disposable parts for the coffee maker. When mentioned to the front desk as just an FYI they were very argumentative and unfriendly like it was a me problem. Wasn't asking for anything, just wanted them to be aware. Breakfast was basically non-existent but that may be COVID related. It is a very large complex with many rooms and we only saw one other guest. Perhaps understaffed like many other places given the times?
It's obvious this hotel has been affected by the pandemic. Upkeep and repairs of carpeting and fixtures are needed. Lower rates offset any hassles. I appreciated the immediately helpful and friendly front desk staff to provide my request for quiet room.
Overbuilt for Bakken Oil Boom. 1 coffee cup, no glasses. Bath fan not working. Fridge ice box closed with frost/ice. Main floor bathroom stall latch broken, electric towel dispensers empty. Windows very dirty. No not breakfast was promised by BW reservations.
Stayed at the Roosevelt Best Western on my way home from vacation. Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet for under $150. the staff was pleasant and we had no issues at all. I would recommend this place to anyone.
I was on a road trip stayed in hotels for 13 days. This hotel only had coffee, juice and hand packaged donuts, No hot water for tea. Could have had boxed cereal packaged oatmeal and packaged milk. The staff did not wear mask.
We had a great experience even when it started out rough because we were counting on a shuttle to take us to the airport and it's no longer available. The lady at the front desk was amazing and went out of her way to help us find another option! We greatly appreciated everything she did to try to help even though she wasn't responsible for the issue. 10 out of 10 for sure!!!
This hotel is impressive to look at, but due to covid some things were not available. The room was spacious and clean, but was not stocked well...we were shy on cups, washcloths and pillows, but the young man at the front desk was quick to remedy it. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so everything steamed up. The location is convenient to restaurants, shopping, and the interstate. Would definitely stay here again.
Given the impact the pandemic has had on tourism, I've adopted more relaxed expectations for hotels/motels. Despite this, the Roosevelt Grand Hotel's poor condition was astonishing. Here's a list of the worst offenses my traveling companion and I observed: black mold in the bathroom; non-functioning air-conditioning unit; a TV that was difficult to operate when it worked at all; stained carpet throughout; one bar of soap to be used at the sink and tub; a damaged porte cochere; nonmasked front desk staff (despite claims made on the website); one out of two elevators worked... the list could go on and on. And saving the best for last -- went to the ice machine on the third floor, only to find a sign saying it was out of order, advising to go to next closest machine on second floor. Got to second floor and ice machine was out of order, sign advised to go to first floor. Found that one was working order. Imagine our surprise when a poster on the unmanned front desk informed us that this facility had won 2021 Best Hotel for Dennison. Ugh, ugh, ugh. We checked out early
There were a lot of issues with the room… Black mold and food remains were found in the fridge; half the outlets don't work; only one coffee cup and lid; trash from previous occupant was not emptied; hairs from previous occupant(s) was not cleaned up off of bed sheets and blankets; top cover had rips and tears in it; and, black mold was on the shower curtain and also hairs found embedded in it.
The front desk gave me a key to an already occupied room at check-in. When I got to my actual room, there was a dirty rag on the floor and a hair in one of the beds. Kids were still screaming at the pool past 10:30 pm and the music from the event they were hosted also persisted. All I expect of hotels is clean and quiet but even those low expectations weren't met. I'm still waiting on a supposed call from the manager for a remedy but it ultimately doesn't change the experience.
This hotel is connected to a conference center, so lots of hallways to get to our room. Breakfast was a choice of small muffins, apples and granola bars with coffee, so not much there. But there is a refrig in the room, so easy to get our own breakfast after the first day. Room is clean and comfortable, but without daily service, the trash piles up, so had to make some runs around the facility to find bins for it.
The room was clean and okay but the TV was very hard to understand how to operate. It took 2 remotes . We had to keep checking with the desk for help. The grab and go breakfast was very skimpy! A small muffin a small yogurt and a nasty tasting small box of juice. The carpet under one of the front entry tables need to be vacuumed. I thought we were on the 1st floor but it was the second story which was confusing. The beds were made sloppy with mattress pad hanging over the side of one bed.
After myself and wife encountered problems, we looked at reviews and noticed these are contained problems. The kid at the front desk was very unfriendly and uninformative. It's not a big deal to me to not thank me for being a rewards member but to not say anything about the internet, breakfast, pool hours. Just telling me to sign and handing me a key that's clearly been used multiple times. Outside of the lobby the hotel is clearly dated. The one elevator still doesn't really work properly. You just stand in it for what feels like 2 minutes before the door finally closes. We walked up and down stairs after that. No shower toiletries in the room, the shower knob is very weird, you almost feel like your about to pull the knob off for it to work. If you're not a little tech savvy, good luck with the two remotes, especially if you flip off the switch that controls everything in the room. Seriously, would of been a nice warning “hey, lights, tv, nothing works unless you flip this switch by the door.” The beds were nice, the 7ft deep pool is awesome…..towels in the pool area would of been nice. Website says breakfast, kid at the front desk never said were it was…we found it. Coffee and granola bars. Probably the saddest BW breakfasts I've ever seen, COVID or not. A lot of these things I personally would of just forgotten and forgiven, if your staff was a little more friendly. I understand they hosting a wedding, things get busy, but I won't stay here again. I'll just drive the extra 90 minutes to Bismarck.
The hotel was nice and the room was spacious. Kind of disappointed about the limited breakfast and the pool area being closed.I was pleased that I was able to use my reward dollars. If i ever go thru Dickinson again I would think about staying there again.
I've always had great experiences at Best Westerns but this was disgusting. They promoted enhanced cleaning measures due to COVID but there was trash on the floor, the AC unit filter was overdue for changing, toilet seat was broken, and the drain in the bathroom sink was bent and didn't work. No shampoo was provided in the complimentary toiletries and when asked the desk staff got defensive saying they hadn't had a delivery in awhile. Desk staff seemed unmotivated - worst breakfast ever! Yogurt, granola bars, muffins, and fruit... the coffee was awful! They couldn't even provide spoons for the yogurt but instead had micro-sized sampling spoons, a few cocktail napkins, and no stirrers for the coffee. I would never had booked this hotel had I known.
This was a bit of a disappointment. The lobby was nice but the room lacked. Once you got out of the main area it was very dated. When we arrived there were a few issues: coffee maker, phone and lamp didn't work, one of the elevators didn't work properly. When we mentioned these issues to the lady at the front desk she told us she ‘would make note'. Her note didn't really help us much. We had to go back down to the desk, the phone didn't work, to find out how two remotes worked for the tv. The bathroom wasn't great. The shower knob was old and hard to operate and there were some areas on the tile that needed cleaning. No fan so it got steamy after a shower. The beds were good and line was were clean. You could control the temp from your room. There was a refrigerator that worked. The continental breakfast was fruit, yogurt and granola bars. No coffee. I'm sure this was a ‘grand' hotel in its day but not so much now. We are rewards members and always try to use BW when it's available but this was disappointing.
Best Western used to be our brand of choice. They used to be dependable - clean and comfortable. We are a family that travels extensively both for work and pleasure and it has become apparent that the days of a reliable positive experience at a BW are past. This hotel was disappointing. The carpet in our room was filthy. It had not been vacuumed before our stay. There was food crumbs all over the floor; my husband found an empty can of beans - yes, an empty can of baked beans - under the bed. The remote control for the tv didn't work. The ice machine on our floor was broken as was the drink machine on the 2nd floor. And now, let's talk breakfast. Businesses can continue to blame COVID for poor customer service but that excuse is getting old. We were just in another hotel (a Hilton property) which offered fresh bagels, cereals, toast, breakfast sandwiches - plenty of options. This hotel offered powdered and cake donuts wrapped in a plastic bag, Quaker oat bars, and muffins (when we asked the desk clerk what kind they were, he said “I really don't know.” Yesterday there was only coffee available. Not great for children or those among us who don't drink coffee. Today there were orange juice boxes available along with bananas and apples. Simply unacceptable. Dirty rooms. Broken equipment. Substandard amenities. Why would I stay here again?
We stayed one night but will not stay again or recommend. We chose this property because BW is our hotel of choice. Disappointed with this property. It's old and tired and shows much wear and tear. We found it clean and with a comfortable bed. But very poor soundproofing from both inside and outside. Doors into property and exec use room unsecured. Breakfast was black coffee and unrepentant bananas.
We stayed at there several years ago and then again just recently. It seems a little hard to find because I didn't notice any Best Western signs but my wife spotted one. We stay a lot of Best Westerns and I'm used to looking for them but this was different. It's a good place and comfortable. No real breakfast when we were there and not really even a good continental breakfast but we got by. Who knows what it'll be like if they ever ease the restrictions? Not a big deal though and I'd stay there again and do like we did, and that's just buy breakfast someplace.
The Dakota Grand Roosevelt, was a pleasure to stay, there. Rooms were comfortable, with all the amenities. Staff gave, wonderful customer service. I especially enjoyed, the gaming tables. Highly recommend this hotel. Fun, fun and more fun.
Our previous wedding venue canceled on us 6 days before our wedding, so we were in a rush to find something that would work. Roosevelt Grand was so understanding of our situation and rented their ballroom to us and even catered our wedding with only a 4 day notice! The banquet and ballroom manager Pernora even called me and told me not to stress about anything and that she had it all covered. They saved our day and the staff was so amazing the entire time with the ceremony, reception and all of our guests that stayed at the hotel. They are an amazing group of people!
Good place to stay. The third floor suites are the best places to stay for quietness and access to the rest of the hotel. We were there for football games several time during the fall season and never experienced problems with staff or the hotel. Despite North Dakota being #1 in Covid-19 infections per capita, the hotel and staff work well to keep you safe while staying there.
This property is not at all on par with other Great Westerns. It's old, musty, stained....our room didn't have an outside window (we were on the pool) and we were too tired to ask for a new room. The front desk people were wonderful but they cab't change the fact that everything felt dingy.
We only stayed one night, but it was a nice Best Western especially for the price. It did appear to offer more than other locations, ie bar, pool, etc, so we would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.
Staff was very polite and on time. All employees knew how to do their jobs and are very courteous. But the room was full of trash and had stains on the ceiling and carpet was not vacuumed. Also most of vending machines were empty or out of order as well as the laundry machines. Also the carpet in halls and stairwells are coming up as well as holes in walls and missing ceiling tiles. The lobby and pool were very nice and tidy.also pet smell and dander were noticable on the couch and chair.
I went in expecting this to be a standard budget hotel. It was more than that though. The price was cheap, but the quality was not. It was close to several restaurants so there are many options to walk to. It is cheaper since it is a little further from Teddy Roosevelt national park, but still close enough to b a short drive.
Arriving with dirty bag of clothing on vacation was told washer dryer down. Very disappointing. Bag breakfast when other Best Western hotels had a nice breakfast layout. We had quiet top floor room which was clean and comfy bed until Wedding reception downstairs with leftover guest in parking lot til 1:30 a m. Would not return here.
Just had our wedding here a few days back. Place was setup perfect for our big day! Staff was all super amazing and they took great care of us and all our guests. Food was top notch and all our guests had nothing but compliments to us across the board! Thanks for the great memories!
first hotel room we walked into the second i stepped into the room i got annihilated by the horrid odor of freshly smoked cigs. in the second room i had the horror of experiencing A SWARM of BUGS. the third room again, i was immediately absolutely RAVAGED by the smell of 20 thousand cig butts sitting under the mattresses. although the pool area was nice, on the way i felt a crunch between my second and middle toe. i looked down, and i was completely SHOCKED and horrified to see a CARCASS squashed and crippled between my toes. as i stepped up, i could smell the life exiting the carcass and entering the gates the heavens as we speak. i would not be surprised if the pool was once used as an ashtray for all of the cigs found under the mattresses.. i also found a PHANTOM FECAL MOVEMENT in the bowl of the porcelain throne. as i was about to sit down, i noticed a peculiar odor entering my nasal passages. i whipped my head around and immediately screamed GHOST TURD!!! and security was altered in the next town about a domestic dispute, but it was just the sound of my utter despair of seeing such a terrifying and horrific scene in front of my very eyeballs. never thought i would personally experience this horror. in summary, i was annihilated by cigarettes coming from all angles, i found small black critters dead and alive, with one sneaking up my undergarments in the bedsheets. the moth gave me a foot disease that cannot be cured, and the ghost turd, well let's not speak of that again as i was utterly shocked and i am permanently scarred from that experience. i rate one fourth of a tomato out of 100,000. RIP to the lives that were lost under my crusty jagged unclipped toenails. absolutely trauma inducing experience. the end.
There was no food service incl breakfast which was not mentioned on the website when we booked. We accepted that and thought it was due to the ongoing pandemic. But there also was no cleaning service of the rooms while we stayed there. We still accepted that thinking that maybe they don't clean the rooms during a visit, again due to COVID. The room seemed clean when we moved in. The daytime front desk guy was as rude as they come and would not help us when one of our kids clogged the toilet (no maintenance available either) and had the audacity to threaten me that he would fine us for clogging the toilet. I ended up fixing the toilet myself for the room to have a functioning toilet. The restaurant is closed, but the bar in the hotel is not and there were entire party buses coming and going. Other than the front desk stuff there was no other staff seen in this hotel and those guys were completely stressed out. The rooms itself are okay but not Best Western standard. The doors from the parking lots did not require card access either. None of the hand sanitizers had anything in them throughout the hotel with the exception of the lobby. The staircases and public spaces were dirty and far from pandemic safe. Front staff did not wear masks. Pretty disappointing stay. Would not recommend for more than one night, and only if I couldn't find a room anywhere else.
The appearance of the hotel was actually surprising for the price. I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was and it was very roomy and spacious. The lobby was really well furnished and looked upscale. This is a conference type hotel where I an see meetings taking place and the appearance to impress people. Nice place for the rate. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area again.
We stayed at three Best Westerns this week. This was a big disappointment. There weren't enough toiletries. I know, I should have checked before I got in the shower...the light in the bathroom had bugs in it. The toilet stool did not have “bumpers” on the seat. The remote control was sticky. There was dead shrubs, and overgrown weeds in the landscaping at the entrance. There was grass growing in the overhead canopy, at the lower entrance. At check-in, the clerk was surly when my husband asked about the rates. The lobby is very nice; western decor. The carpet is soiled in the elevator. I would not return to this motel.
We had a hard time finding this place because we were looking for a Best Western sign and did not find one. We finally stopped at Quality Inn to ask where it was. She indicated that it was the Roosevelt Grand Dakota Hotel next to Comfort Inn. So if you're looking to find the Best Western by a sign, you will need to look for the sign for Roosevelt Grand Dakota Hotel, not Best Western. The stone building of the hotel Is large and attractive from the outside. When we walked into the hotel from the side door to get a hotel we discovered it had meeting rooms galore. We managed to find our way to the lobby to check in, and it was very large. There is a pretty fireplace in the spacious lobby. We were pleased that as diamond members we were upgraded to a junior suite. The room is spacious, with the added bonus of a couch and a chair in a separate sitting area. It has all the standard equipment of a hotel room. The air-conditioning worked well and was quiet. My husband was impressed with the king pillows. I do have a complaint about this place which will take it from a potential five down to a four. The pool area was filthy. My husband wanted to go into the hot tub, and as soon as I saw it I knew I would not go into it because it was too dirty looking. The pool area was littered with trash and used towels. It was an eyesore. I'd like to take this time to thank the management for the upgrade. We truly appreciated it.
I stay at BW's almost exclusively, take my word or it and pass on this one. Room had not been cleaned properly. Melted ice still in ice bucket, scored by finding two cans of beer in the refrigerator, no bedding for the sofa sleeper or towels for the third member of our family, no hotel information in the room (couldn't even find any ice machine and wasn't about to make a 3rd trip to the front desk), not recognized as a frequent customer, not offered the grad and go breakfast. Towels similar to those in a cut rate hotel chain.
I've had to travel across the country during this difficult COVID-19 pandemic, and I chose to go all Best Western because I can normally trust them. Not in this instance. First, the checkin process. The clerk actually asked me to pull off my mask to confirm my ID! No other BW has done that. There was a ridiculously long list of rules to sign. And, they said, no breakfast because dining room was closed, even though all the other BWs are managing to do "breakfast to go." No warning about that on the website, of course. And the clerk was just unpleasant about all of this. Then there was no soap in the room, not enough towels for two people (for a room with a king-sized bed), a lamp whose cord wouldn't reach any of the outlets, no cups for coffee (when we asked for this, we were told "no cooking in the room" -- really??), and just in general the room was run down. The hotel has the layout with a fake indoor courtyard in the center. We could hear kids screaming in the pool until at least 10 PM. But no window to the outside. Yay.
Hotel decor hast to be 60s early 70s. Most of the place still smells of smoke. One of my rooms had a plane growing out of the sink drain. Another room had a gigantic wet spot in the floor from previous occupant. Lounge is nice and food is pretty good with a friendly staff
One of the best kept hotels around. Front staff to the General Manager are accommodating and spot on. This is our 8th year with the Grand Dakota and we are not changing. This year we brought 17 hunters! Next year will be 20
Nice, clean room and hotel overall. No towels in the pool area, but the front desk gave me some when I asked. Staff was slow to bring us sheets for the fold-out couch (not sure why they weren't in the room?). Breakfast was fine but not exciting. Everything was fine and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Reservation made with request for poolside. Room was not poolside and the water in the pool was freezing cold. The room smelled of urine and there were dogs whining in the room across from us. The room was ground level and the window not only did not lock; it didn't even shut completely. My husband hurt his hand trying to close it. We requested a different room. We were then placed in a room where the heater didn't work, the refrigerator did not work, the lighting was awful, and the room hadn't been cleaned properly. There was garbage on the floor and the shower was nasty. The garbage cans had been emptied but new liners had not been placed in them and there was no ice machine on that floor. Poor lighting was made worse by a bulb being burnt out in one of the few lamps used to light the room. During this one night stay we planned to spend time with our 4 and 6-year-old grandchildren that we rarely see because of the distance between homes. The meeting was wrecked as they could not swim and the evening was spent dealing with crappy conditions and just as crappy service. We were given a voucher for breakfast upon check in. After little to no sleep from freezing in our room and not wanting to move again in the middle of the night, we weren't about to let them disappoint us one last time. We left, tired, hungry, disappointed, and upset. I will never use this hotel again and advise others to be very wary! Especially if it is a special occasion! If I could give less than a one-star rating-I would!
Hope you're not in a rush to check in........ Hope you don't expect your room to be serviced during your stay..... Might get some breakfast food...... All in all it's another poor Ramada. Rooms were OK but not great. These poor hotels(Ramadas) are just wore out. So that being said it is what it is
I like this place because of all the choices. Restaurant and bar but two totally different menus, its big and spacious and lots of places to just sit and get out of your room. Fire places and just quiet corners to just people watch. Restaurant staff is nice. Raquel i think was very nice and server and, the girls at the bar Just like last stay were awesome. Recommend this place.
