« Good for business needs breakfast improvements »

Dear All, I stayed in the hotel in last 10days. I can say that it is perfect for business, since it is close to Airport (max 60min even during traffic), and also close to city centre. the Staff is supportive and will follow up what you asked them for. The breakfast needs some improvements, fruits are good, but the hot food is not that good. I used to take tea, but I need to press on the machine many times to get the hot water. The quality of Croissant, donuts and cake can be improved. AC is big and good but Refrigerator of room was not working. my room has door with adjacent room, and this was sometimes source of noise.

    « Excellent stay »

cant thank hotel enough for the help they gave us with our luggage ... which didn't arrive when we did. Receptionist spoke exceptional English. Great spot for airport (though it did take us 40 mins to do the 10 min drive in rush hour)

« Perfect choice to celebrate our daughter's first Birthday because of Mr. Tanveer »

My title says it all. We loved everything about this hotel because of Mr. Tanveer. We celebrated our daughter's first birthday on 5th October with friends & family at Best Western Plus Colosseum Hotel, Colosseum Hall (1st Floor) Mr. Tanveer made sure that everything was perfectly arranged. The food was fantastic. Service was very good. Thank you Mr. Tanveer for making our daughter's party a memorable one. Excellent 1st birthday party experience! A big thumbs up to Mr. Tanveer once again!

« Religious event in dar »

It is fully occupied . But I feel the hotel is not equipped to have 100 % occupancy facility The staff are very curtioues We have three rooms amongst our family. The Indian restaurant is good But they need more waiters to serve Same for breakfast

« A homey place away from home »

Stayed with the hotel for 11 days. Staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms and other facilities are clean. The food is great. The service is excellent. The location is ideal for me as I needed to be near the airport and accessible to my clients.

    « Good for a group. »

We had a large group that traveled to Dar on a surgival mission. The hotel and staff were courteous, accomodating and patient with our schedules. With a bit of notice, the restaurant would keep the kitchenopen to feed us when we returned from the hospital late. The food was safe and delicious and we felt safe there. Overall positive experience.

    « Mediocre »

Visited the Best Western Plus Colosseum in Dar es Salaam for one night with my husband. This hotel is half way between airport and town so not ideal for tourists in my opinion. We had a warm reception from very helpful staff members. The room was very tired and had a funny smell. However we are so tired we sprayed some perfume and turned on the aircon. We ordered room service which was great and reasonably priced. The bathroom was large and relatively modern with a powerful shower. There was no safe in the room. Average stay overall.

« Good hotel for Business - Not for tourism »

I stood there for a long business trip (30 days) The localization is not the best one with a huge boulevard in front and the railway in the back... Nothing really attractive around - The place to be is definitively the Peninsula in Dar! Standard room. The bathroom should have better furnitures, it is very minimized: Nothing to put your stuff on. The company installed such a strange "double glazzing" for the windows system that there is no more chance that your windows will be clean. WiFi is not really stable, but has been improved. All the food is based on Indian and Chinese, if you stay long you will probably be fed-up! Breakfast is "standard" but the cofee is just not good ! Otherwise, the personnel is very welcoming and the stay was globally good!

« Good hotel with a few issues to resolve »

We stayed there on a trip to Tanzania. The hotel is not too far from the Airport about 15 minutes by car on a weekend and about an hour when the traffic is bad. The traffic in Dar is bad so choose a hotel location carefully if its just an overnight. We had a pleasant welcome and were put in a good room. It had all of the amenities you would expect. The room was an average sized room and the air conditioning worked well. My main issue with the hotel was security. The security looks great there is a gate, then security around, CCTV and security doors on each floor. However, when my friends arrived someone followed them into the hotel, snatched a handbag and were helped out of the hotel by doors being opened. There is a good picture of the culprit on the CCTV. The doors on each floor were generally left open so they were no deterrent. I have to say that the staff were concerned about the incident and were very helpful in getting my friends printed documents needed for the embassy to replace a stolen passport. So be on guard. The food in the hotel was good and a huge selection. Two restaurants but you could choose from either menu.

« Equidistant From Airport and Town »

Firstly, I would like to mention and thank Leah on reception and the hotel driver who took us to Ubungo bus station and ensured we boarded a bus safely ? it was chaos! Now for the review. Check-in was warm, welcoming and fast. Wifi was good ? you have the option of 2 separate networks for your floor so you can switch between them to ensure you always benefit from the fastest connection. I was able to stream TV shows with no buffering. Breakfast is served in 1 of the hotel's 2 restaurants and has everything one would expect from a top hotel ? egg station, fresh fruit etc. The room itself was a normal-sized room and appeared clean but had a very musty smell to it. The scent disappeared after the window had been opened for a little while but reappeared almost immediately after closing it. The bed was comfortable and the shower (while it wasn't a power shower by any description) had good strength to the water flow. Location-wise, as hinted at in the title of the review, the Colosseum is fairly close to the airport but you could also walk into the centre of Dar within 30 minutes up one essentially straight road, though I wouldn't advise it.

« Nice place to stay »

Good location. Rooms are comfortable. Nice restaurant with good variety of food. Staff is friendly. It was neat & clean. Free wifi with good speed. Nice place to stay. Taxi's are available outside of the hotel.

« Nice hotel with friendly staff »

I stayed here overnight flying through Dar and had a great experience overall. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They were able to arrange airport pickup for $30, which we could charge to our room. Room service came from the Indian restaurant within the hotel, which was basic, but okay nonetheless. The room was quite nice, especially the bathroom, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

« Overnight stay - closer to airport than many hotels »

Very pleasant experience. Room large, comfortable typical 4 star hotel room. Beds comfortable. Very pleasant staff. Pool area where we dined nice out-door area up-stairs. Meal good. Excellent SPA where had a very good massage, experienced masseuse after 24 hour flight from Australia. I choose this property because closer to airport than many of the other hotels. Traffic in DAR is horrendous and peak hour traffic can cause very long delays. If you were a long way from airport at e.g. otherside of town if might take you two hours or longer in peak hour traffic.

    « A Favorite Hotel »

Still a great Hotel close to the city Centre ,rooms are small but very accommodating , breakfast very decent , Indian Restaurant is always the best , the managers always give u a great recommendation , The Internet is on max. Speed I would reckon, downloads etc very possible and free ! Slight concern would be to get one of the rooms on the lower floors as the Gym starts early morning and shuts off late night , u might literally hear the lifting of weights if ur on the 5th floor ( smoking rooms ). All in all a great Business hotel, definitely recommended .

    « Stayed here for a week »

It was a small attractive hotel. Has spacious rooms with average amenities. Service was good staff were also friendly and accommodating. Had to transfer to another room because of some problem with the door lock and water heater and they granted my request. Buffet Breakfast has a good selection of fresh fruits juices nuts bread pastries sausages cheese eggs potatoes and western dishes..

    « A 4 * hotel that thinks it is 5 * and I enjoyed it enormously »

An excellent 4 * hotel with modern facilities, nearest to the airport was our stay for two nights stay on our way to Zanzibar from London. The room that we had was small but had modern facilities of A.C, mini bar, fridge, tea making facilities and was very clean. The staff were generally very polite, courteous and friendly and professional. The mezzanine pool and bar was very good and never busy. The icing on the cake was the gym and the spa which had up to date facilities as the pictures will show. We had all out meals at the Mumbai spices which was excellent and did not try out their pizza joint as the Indian cooks in the Mumbai spices produced good aromatic indian specialities which we enjoyed. The area around the hotel is a bit run down but once you are in the hotel, it is almost like paradise in Dar es Salaam. The higher quieter rooms are the best. We will certainly go there again,

« Really the BEST hotel »

The BEST in the hotel's name is genuinely deserved. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism and service I received (especially as I had just been in US, South Africa and Turkey). All the porters were very helpful and courteous. Mr Sixtus (at the front desk) acted in a very alert manner when the external taxi that I had previously booked didn't arrive. He quickly arranged for the hotel's taxi to take me to the airport. Bravo for his timely intervention which ensured that I arrived on time! Miss Shirley (at the front desk) was very efficient when I requested her that I needed to post a big parcel. She obtained all relevant information. Mr Iddy (the taxi driver) helped to carry my parcel as well as talked with the staff of the post office in Swahili so as to ease the process. The Breakfast Manager arranged a breakfast parcel which exactly suited my needs (fresh fruits) and the parcel was duly available at 3.00 am before my departure. I plan to come to Dar next year with my family and I am definitely staying here.

    « Central Location »

My wife and I with a couple of friends only spent one night in the hotel whilst in transit. The hotel was clean and indeed of an expected standard, however I have to say a big thank you to all of the staff, who really went out of their way to make our short stay pleasant and comfortable with particular thanks to Ibrahim for doing a really great job with nothing too much to ask for - really appreciated and many thanks from all of us to all of the staff.

    « Business classy hotel »

Been travelling in and out of Dar for quite some time. I stayed in this hotel as it is closest to the airport. Been in some other hotels, but this is what I exactly need. Very clean rooms, friendly staff with all the smiles, internet was good, pool bar great, gym good but the food service was a bit disappointing though. Food delivery is too slow. Apart from that, my overall stay was excellent. Would be coming back thats for sure!

    « Dar convenience »

We stayed here one night because my family were traveling the next day and we didn't want to risk being late with early morning Dar traffic. We booked on line but when we got to the hotel there was no record so I suggest you follow up with a phone call when booking. This meant we had to wait a good 30min as they prepared our room, we needed an extra bed. Pleasant staff, good sleep, hot water and air-conditioning, parking and 20 min to the airport, that's Dar convenience. Oh, keep an eye on your luggage while checking in, it could be mistaken for check out luggage and go the airport, thankfully ours was returned safely to our room :-)

« Close to airport and has a fantastic spa and gym »

Rooms are clean but basic, and finishes are not that great. The restaurants are very average. Close to airport which is very convenient. The gym and spa are top quality and pool is nice with small bar alongside. The staff are very friendly and this hotel is convenient if you need to work in town or catch an early flight.

« Very comfortable for the business traveller »

The hotel is situated at a very convenient location, not right in the middle of town where traffic can be can be a nightmare, but a bit on the periphery where traffic isn't too crazy. The staff are very polite and willing to assist. The rooms are not fancy but they are very clean and the bed was quite comfortable and there is good wifi reception, which is considered a must these days. OK if one is easily annoyed by street noises then this is not the hotel if you absolutely want a good night's sleep. I however requested for a room higher up since the rooms overlooking the back side are more often that not fully booked. I honestly cant complain.I had good quality sleep. I however noticed that they know this is an issue and have fitted the windows with noise proof glass to try drown out the street noise. The only downside would be the food variety. Whereas there's an OK breakfast buffet the rest of the meals must either be pizza or Indian cuisine. I don't like spicy food and as much as I love pizza, having it every night for a week isn't my idea of fun!! I'm yet to step on a weighing scale since!LOL! Overall it's a good hotel and I definitely would not hesitate to choose it again(once I shed off the weight!!LOL)

    « A Wee Bit Of Paridise »

An Amazing Hotel considering the surroundngs. Felt Very safe and the Hotel staff were more than helpful. Checked out at 3 in the morning to be met by helpful hotel satff who were again more than helpful.

    « Worst ever, I think »

Just did the Check-in, went to the room, and check out imeediately, not even unpacking. Room was small, and toilet was minimum (not even a shelf to put your toiletries...) Two restaurant options: fast food and an Indian one. So only these type of food lovers will be satisfied. On the other hand, no Cafeteria or similar where you can sit and enjoy a tea or coffee after the day. No bar, by the way. My room was on the first floor, and the "beautiful" views are attached as a picture... Just see. I checked out immediately and -as said- not even unpacking my suitcase. BUT THEY CHARGED ONE NIGHT !!! I call this stealing money from people. If your hotel is under the discerning traveler standards, bear with it. Or change your Hotel and upgrade your standards. But charging one night to a guest that did not make use of your premises is stealing. And that's not good. By the way, please do not reply to me. Your false and empty excuses have no credibility at all. Reimburse that money you improperly charged me and I will happily communicate it herein as well. I really encourage you to clean the image of your hotel.

« Well looked after hotel in the midst of a busy area »

A great halfway between the airport and coastal area of Dar. Service, food and accommodation of a high standard where the staff are very helpful in all aspects to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

« Clean hotel in convenient location »

Hotel is clean and in convenient location, for those who need to visit Central Dar. Not a luxury hotel. Breakfast is fine, but could be better. Staff is helpful. They gave me a room facing Nkrumah Street, which is noisy, though I did ask for a backyard room. The taxi service provided by the hotel is expensive, definitely beyond average. They argue that their taxi drivers are reliable, but I regularly travel to Dar (since 2010) and, so far, I have never had any issue with local taxis. But for these small issues, the hotel is more than fine.

« Good service, rooms not the biggest »

Whilst the service in this hotel is the best of the three Best Western properties in Dar es Salaam, the rooms are the smallest. Nothing is missing in the room, but I found them quite compact. There is a good outside swimming pool and bar, however be wary for the local malai (ladies of the night) who often sit at the bar at weekends. For hotel food, the choice and range of items on the menu is wide, the service is good, and the quality is fair. Breakfast is buffet style with a wide choice, however many of the chilled items are not kept refrigerated (it is tropical), and the hot food sits in several bain maries, so if you are late to breakfast you may find some of the items less appealing than if you are an early riser! Rather have one of the freshly prepared omelettes. A wide choice of TV channels are available from the cable box in each of the rooms, and whilst WiFi is widely available throughout the hotel, it can be slow and unresponsive at times. Rather get yourself a local SIM card and use your phone as a hotspot. It gets quite busy outside during the day and getting around can be slow. It is not advisable, unless you know where you are heading, to venture out at night unless you have arranged transport (You will struggle to find any of the bajajis commonly found in Oyster Bay and other parts of Dar, as they are not allowed into the city centre)

« PLease COme to Tanzania and Stay at Best Western Cosseum »

The hotel was very nice. At first I didn't like the exterior appearance, but after crossed the gate and get onto the lobby I realized it was exceptional. First I did like the Décor on the lobby IM a history geek and one of the thing weight to stay was the roman décor. Costumer service was very help full I did ask for a electrical adapter and in less than 5 minutes I got one.I like the smile of the people who work there. The pool is little but awesome since you can have a drink and see the street and building around. Room was clean and comfy. The breakfast was above expectation nothing like the breakfast I'm used to in the USA were there is not o reduced offer. I really encourage people to come to Tanzania and stay in this hotel.

    « Clean and convenient »

We stayed here for just about 6 hours before a flight. A last minute room on Expedia cost about $120. The hotel is clean, with good AC, plenty of hot water, lots of outlets to charge devices, fast Wifi in the rooms, a comfortable bed, a great pool and bar, and two restaurants. We ate at the Indian restaurant and it was really good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A ride to the airport costs $30 and took a half hour at 9pm despite how close it is (heavy traffic on Dar). I would definitely stay here again. Ask for extra towels.

    « ok for a short stay »

located close to the railway station and reasonably close to airport. rooms are adequate and clean. we did walk to downtown to see the sites without any hassles. breakfast was good, the restaurants - Mumbai Spice, served good Indian food. we did use the swimming pool and outside bar.

    « Comfortable and Cozy »

Spent 4 nights at the Colosseum. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to assist. The rooms are comfortable, although my bed had a screeching sound. Modern finishings. The restaurant offerings were limited but good nevertheless. Location is a bit out, but the amenities such as the gym and pool area make up for that.

    « A night at the hotel »

Had been to the hotel in january, i had seen the hotel online and booked the same. The hotel is good, services are too pretty good. Being an Indian i preferred Indian food, so they have a hotel down which serves good food. Overall it was a good experience . The only thing is its bit expensive.

    « Disappointing hotel »

I have stayed at a number of Best Western hotels and this hotel is not up to standard . The staff are quite helpful but the location is poor , right on a busy road so there is always traffic noise . The area is not inviting and the front yard is shoddy . The room was ok but you had to get out of bed to turn the bedside light on or off because the controlling switch was on the floor out of reach of anyone in bed . The restaurants offered little to anyone not interested in spicy food . Checking out was a mission . I decided to check out the night before leaving as I had to leave at 5 am for the airport . It took 15 minutes because of computer/printer problems . Though conveniently close to the airport I would not stay there again .

« "Home away from Home" »

We spend two days in the hotel and actually we felt like it was on two hours, we wanted for more. The staff especially Roderick (GM) was friendly and we got the hospitality we were yearning for! Keep it up!

    « staff excellent! »

Spent 6 nights last week. Staff really went out of their way to help at every stage. Hotel lovely, rooms very comfortable, gym excellent, Indian restaurant a delight!!! and wifi very good I would recommend as very good value also

    « Grim »

The only good thing about the hotel is that it is fairly close to downtown, though in a rundown area with nothing around it. The lobby is tiny and dark, with no place to sit. The rooms are just barely adequate. I took a look at the fitness center and it appeared reasonably acceptable. But taken as a whole, it is a depressing place to stay. Normally, if I am going to be someplace for a week or less I will just make the best of it, since moving hotels is a hassle, but I checked out of this place after one night and will never stay there again.

« Plus for convenience, minus for breakfast »

Only stayed one night and chose this hotel for convenience to airport. Apart from two small motels it's the closest one, but still a half hour ( and 40 000 tzsh) away. Had rooms facing the street, but sound insulation was good and room cool and airy. Wonderful place to rest. Breakfast was a sad story, however. When we got there ( early) it looked like everything had been sitting there since the previous day's serving. Cut up fruit and vegetables had a dry look to them and did not look very appetizing, the sliced bread in the basket by the toaster was so dry the edges curled. True, while we stood there taking all of this in, a girl came with a platter of freshly cut water melon, but the overall impression was still of something not very tempting. The croissant I had a bite of was clearly at least a day old. We tried to complain to the person in charge at the breakfast restaurant, but were met with little understanding. Judging from other reviews the low quality breakfast is a problem at this hotel. I hope they read reviews and take the complaints seriously! We left before we had a chance to try the other restaurants.

« Perfect for an airport stop over »

We needed a hotel for one night because Emirates had changed our flight schedule. This was perfect for us. Getting to and from the hotel: at the airport we went to the taxi desk, they have a set price list for all the hotels. It cost us $35 and took about 20 minutes (at about 9pm). Our taxi driver offered to pick us up the following day to take us back to the airport and we took him up on this. We left at 1:15pm and it took us maybe just over half an hour to get back as the traffic was heavier. Same price. Check in: We wanted a late check out as our flight wasn't until the afternoon the next day. With a bit of persuasion the check-in staff agreed to a 1pm check out for no extra charge (at first they were suggesting we check with them in the morning but with a bit of discussion they relented). To be honest, all of the staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel room was really comfortable. We were on the fourth floor in a twin room. Beds super comfy, great air-conditioning - all the standard stuff you would expect in a mid priced chain hotel. There was a nice pool, which we used free of charge and a spa (which we didn't use as it wasn't free and wasn't in our budget). Breakfast was a buffet style with various options to suit most tastes. The locality: we didn't go out as it didn't look very appealing.

« hotel with very good Indian food »

Hi I stayed there for 8 days in Nov 2015. It is a very good hotel with all basic amenities including a gym, wifi with decent speed and small swimming pool etc. The size of the pool is very small but nevertheless one can spend quality evening time there. This hotel is located a little far from the downtown, ensuring that you don't have to struggle in down town traffic daily morning and evening but this could be equally bad for people who like to stay near city center and beaches. I stayed in a road facing room on 2nd floor but there was no disturbance from the outside traffic noise in the room. (Thanks to the sound proof windows)The best part is the Indian food which is served in 'Mumbai Spice' restaurant. Some of the dishes are tastier than what I have had here in India. All in all it was a good experience.

    « Very good Hotel »

I stayed here for 6 days and found the hotel to be very comfortable and accommodating. Both Smokin Joes Pizza and Mumbai Spices were fantastic restaurants and provided many choices for meals at fantastic prices. I will gladly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. It is positioned in a good location close to casinos, supermarket and walking distance to several restaurants.

    « Not Ideal »

Our room reeked of smoke and we left with our lungs coughing. The air conditioner was obnoxiously loud. Between the two, we couldn't sleep a wink. Also: beware that 'sparkling water' is more expensive than a glass of wine.

« Good hotel with bad location »

The hotel service and staff are good, but the food is not, it needs lots of improvement. The location is the worst, in the middle of the daily traffic. I recommend them to take more care about the cleaning of the rooms and to improve their food quality and service.

« Best place to stay for a short stopover between flights »

We came in on a late flight arriving at 3 AM and departed that same day about 10 AM for another flight to Arusha. The hotel is fairly close to the airport, about 10 minutes in no traffic and a bit longer for us with fairly light traffic on the way back to the airport. The room is clean, fairly basic but met our needs. The hotel seemed fairly empty and we did not use any of the facilities or eat there. We did arrange a driver from the hotel for the 3 AM airport transfer and that worked well, on time and quite professional. The staff we encountered were fine. This was all about us getting a few hours sleep after travelling from North America and having a shower. It met all those needs well.

    « Not bad »

Nice hotel, not luxurious, very clean. Food choices rather limited. My room was on third floor, there was a send off party on the mezzanine and I could hear the racket till 11pm. I wonder how the people on 1st and second floors coped. Windows in room do not open except for a small hatch, for someone who does not like air conditioning, this was terrible as it was very hot. If your room faces the street be ready to wake up very early to traffic

« Excellent Staff, Service and Hotel »

Stayed for 5 days in the hotel -19th Oct to 24th Oct. The staff and service level of the hotel was brilliant. We were a large group and the management were brilliant in catering for the group and meeting all the demands of the whole group. Hats off to all the staff and management for making our stay an excellent one.????

« Amazing staff and good location »

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, just 12 kms. away from the airport. Service was really great with very friendly staff from the check in, housekeeping, restaurant and to the managers of the facilities. 3 star hotel standards but a 5 star service. GM Roderick was very approachable, I get a change to meet their RM Cynthia very beautiful and friendly. Overall I recommend this hotel for those who want to save money for a short trip to Dar-es-salaam.

    « nice clean hotel »

Very nice staff, quick check in, food is delicious and priced normally in their restaurant (for 2 we paid 20-25 dollars). Only thing I didnt like was the pool, it is very small, despite on their website it is not for swimming. Internet was fast, no issues at all. Breakfast was also nice. We were here in October, not many people in hotel - it is good if u need a little hide away.

    « Recommended »

I stayed in this hotel for two nights and I'm gonna say I'm a satisfied client. The receptionist, was very accommodating even though they can't find my booking in their system. I love the food in Mumbai Spices as well as the pizza in Smoking Joes. One of the best pizza in Dar Es Salaam. The The room was nice and after a long tiring trip, you can relax at the pool bar and at the spa. for our overall stay. I can say it's excellent. will definitely come back in this hotel..beautifully

After spending 3 nights at the hotel we left the luggage in the care of the hotel while traveling to Arusha and Zanzibar to be picked up on our way back to NY. When the luggage was retrieved it SEEMED that everything was intact because the boxes containing the jewelry were still in the luggage. However, once I got home I found that those boxes were EMPTY. It seemed also that while going through the luggage they left a charger in my luggage that belonged to another member of my group.

« Amazing Staff and stay! »

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, I chose this hotel because of the good location as it is close to the airport. The traffic is terrible at times but because of where it is situated my travel time was cut short. The staff are always smiling and ready to assist. I had a relaxing massage at the spa by a lady from Indonesia, their services are a must try! I didn't use the gym which is quite big and equipped. The breakfast is basic and the food is good. Will stay here again for sure!

Like many others, we stayed here 1 night while transiting to Arusha. It was the closet decent hotel to the airport. It met all our needs, clean, quite, and easy to get to from the airport, and back (around 30 min) with no traffic. Its a bit on the expensive side, but with no other options it was ok. I would not stay there longer then 1 night though. Breakfast was ok, although the room was very smokey i guess they have an open kitchen or bad ventilation. Did not use the pool or gym.

    « Wonderful place »

Nice place if you want to do business in kariako. Good ambience. Close to the airport. Rooms a bit small but comfortable. Bathrooms okish. A bit of more cleaning required. Breakfast okish. The pancakes are always burnt looking blackish dont know why. Very friendly staff. Weekends you can get a cheaper rate.

« Good for an overnight stay »

We stayed one night as a stop over on our way to Zanzibar. Staff were helpful even though at first they were unable to find our booking which delayed the check in. Room was good size and had everything you needed. There is a Indian restaurant and a pizza place that you can eat at should you wish. If you want a shuttle or taxi to airport best to arrange yourself as it will work out cheaper than the standard rate charged by the hotel.

« Very Good Business Hotel »

Good hotel, nothing fancy, but you get everything, except for ironing stands and iron. Food is very good at both the restaurants. Service is average to good. I am sure it can be improved. Will stay here again for sure.

    « Horror story! »

My colleague and I planned to stay for about ten weeks at this hotels but checked out after a week. The reasons -- 1. Rude management who refused to meet long-staying guests. 2. Cockroaches in the room. 3. A rat at the "Italian" restaurant. 4. Intermittent smell of sewage in the rooms. The only thing to recommend it is Mariam at reception, who is efficient and service-oriented. As for the rest, you'd be wise to stay away!

« Good value, great gym »

Location is great - on the road to the airport but 10/15 minutes walk into town. It has a great gym, swimming pool and bar as well as two restaurants. Rooms are clean with good firm mattresses and powerful shower. Friendly staff make this a good well-priced hotel

« Clean, basic hotel close to airport reducing traffic time!! »

The hotel is basic but clean and safe. However of most benefit is the location to the international/domestic airport. Only 7kms from the airport but due to a chaotic traffic system took us nearly 1 hour to reach the hotel. Other travellers discussed longer travel times from other hotels, although of higher standard of hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient and as we used the hotel twice also organised our taxi to/from the airport for $30 each trip. Timely, professional taxi service used. We ate in the Indian/Chinese restaurant which was good. Breakfast not as good but sufficient. On our second visit a lot of noise from corridors but would still use the again. Really important that it's understood how bad the traffic situation is!!

« As good as you could ask »

My wife as I stayed here one night transition through. For this part of the world: Room was in great condition, breakfast was perfect, service was above par, pool was average, gym was excellent. Couldn't have been more satisfied. Thank for a great stay.

« Excellent for short business trip »

This hotel is so conveniently located close to the airport and at the edge of Dar city. Rooms are modern, clean and service is good. Definetely recommend this corporate hotel and the Bali Spa is an added treat after a long day.

« Comfortable stay and only 10km from Dar airport!!! »

My family stayed at this hotel on August 24th for a couple of hours. We had a 3am flight to Washington DC so we checked out of the hotel at 1am. We had a room with a queen bed. The room was very clean. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. The hotel is only 10km from Dar airport ( the old and the international airport). It took us half an hour to get to the hotel in the evening and only 10 minutes at 1am. The hotel has a shuttle service, to and from the airport, and is $30 each way. The staff who checked us in was friendly and professional. The hotel is connected to two restaurants, Mumbai Spices and Smoking Pizza. We had dinner at Mumbai Spices and the food was ok. I suggest if you have time go to the city center which is only 10 minutes away and try some fabulous restaurants. Our favorites were Al- Qayyam and KT shop for the best chai, samosas, and kebabs. Mamboz has amazing BBQ and Chef's pride right across the street from KT has an extensive menu as well. The hotel has a gym on site as well but we did not use it as we were there for a short time. Wifi connection is excellent and free. The password is given to you upon arrival. Rooms have adapters to charge electronic devices. A comfortable stay and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
