I have stay here many times as I have family in Culpeper.. Rooms are good.. staff is usually good to work with and the price is good. They need to redo several of their rooms..I have tried the restaurant it's okay..

Pool and lounge area is nice for families, free breakfast buffet was a Nice plus! We came into town for a wedding and this place did the trick. We chose BW over Holiday because of the outdoor pool. It's not a luxury experience, but it was good enough for what we needed and wasn't unclean :)

I have been to this hotel several times over the past few years. Always a decent price clean room and helpful staff. Never had any issues with noise or disruptive guests. Not far from downtown Culpeper. Will return in the next few months for sure.

Was there for only one night. Front desk people were great. Eating was just ok. Well worth the price. Not much to do in close proximity to the hotel. But, if only in the area for short time, good place to try out.

all in all it was a nice place to stay. We come in for my nephew's wedding. Front desk very helpful. Rooms were nice. Nice pool to relax in before going to the wedding. Pretty good regular breakfast too.

Very best value for the cost. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Better than the "plastic out of the bag" typically prepared in most "breakfast included" motels. Biscuits were especially good.

The desk staff was very accommodating. I made my reservation very late at night and by the time I arrived at the hotel, my room key and info was ready for me. The breakfast the following morning was very good. There were a lot of people being served breakfast which, to me, is an indicator of how good the motel is.

"Convienient location and great breakfast and lunch"

The location was great. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a full breakfast with vast choices. The staff could not have been more pleasant. I love the South for friendliness. We were attending a meeting next door and had only 45 min for lunch. We walked to the hotel restaurant and the same server from breakfast took our order and rushed our meals with lots of time to eat. She brought the check early so that we were not delayed. The lunch was a great value.

Very happy with my stay at the BW Culpeper Inn. Access to the hotel was easy with plenty of parking. The building, grounds and the room was clean, neat and tidy. I did not eat at the restaurant but it looked inviting and I loved the decor. it was a quick on/off the main road and a short distance to downtown. I would definately stay here again.

NO complaints whatsoever ! Room was great and so was the restaurant ! AWESOME Free Breakfast ! Arrived in the rain and left the next day in the rain so we were not able to use the pool but it looked very nice and inviting.

"Better options exist in the area"

This is an older motel with the doors opening to the outdoor walkway but we felt pretty secure since the area seemed ok. Our room was clean but not very updated and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices though the scrambled eggs were overdone and scorched a little. The motel was very busy and the parking lot was almost full when we arrived. A large truck and trailer had taken up at least eight of the spaces when there appeared to be truck parking at a lot behind the motel and we had to park in a location far away from the entrance and in an unlit area. The motel management should have been more aware of the inconvenience this was causing the guests on a very busy night and required the truck to park in the truck lot. When we were leaving, several of the motel housekeeping staff were sitting in chairs smoking on the breezeway which created an unpleasant/unprofessional exit through the smoke for us.

"My"go to" motel for Culpeper"

I often stay in Culpeper for business. This motel is a good choice for price and amenities.This is a well maintained older property with nice decor. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and the free breakfast will not leave you hungry.

"Outdated And Overpriced. Better Options Very Close By"

Have stayed here before and thought it looked very old and not very maintained. Rooms are really lacking as well as most of the establishment. The bar and grille area are okay, but the restaurant "Peppers" is definitely not very satisfying and served my brother literally raw fried chicken. Big health hazard. I have ordered Scallops for dinner before and they were the worst I have ever eaten. I just think overall this place needs an overhaul. Not worth the rates they ask here for sure. They need to step up their game to catch up and keep up with hotels right close to them.

This particular property has 159 rooms, and the upgrade is going to take some time, but it is going to happen. Very clean rooms with comfortable beds. Really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast bar. Location was not near downtown, but for those wanting to be near the highway it is perfect. Staff was friendly and will definitely stay here again.

In the area for the weekend and just needed a room for the night. Older building but very well maintained. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice pool area. The restaurant on site had great food and service. If we visit the area again will be staying here again.

"Older property but well maintained "

This motel (yes, motel) is older and somewhat dated on the exterior, but the rooms were updated and pretty nice. Room was a bit small with only a queen bed, but everything was clean. WiFi worked well. Staff was friendly. The best part of the stay was breakfast that is served in the attached restaurant. Buffet style with many options. Much, much better than your run of the mill continental breakfast. I would stay again just for the breakfast alone.

We have stayed her twice a year for 8 years. Always good accommodations, good quality, friendly staff and comfortable. Rooms are quite clean. Staff is accommodating. Area is safe and protected. No complaints.

There aren't a lot of cheap/good options for staying overnight in Culpepper -- but this is one of them. Rooms are pretty basic, although they look like they were recently rehabbed from what was probably pretty grim digs. Nothing fancy but pleasant. Big plus was the included breakfast -- lots of choices on a huge serve yourself buffet bar as well as options for cups of yogurt, baked goods, bagels juices and even soft serve ice cream. Waitstaff when we visited was a wee bit cranky (if you're eating in DO NOT get your coffee yourself from the coffee bar or you'll get scolded by the hostess lol). Extra bonus is that it's really close to the cute downtown that has a number of nice antique stores, boutiques and little cafes. Clean pleasant place to stay that won't break the bank.

Checking was easy and simple. The employees were very friendly and helpful. My room was a little dated but was clean and nicely furnished. There was plenty of hot water; but, the water pressure could have been a little stronger. The bed was comfortable and I had no problems sleeping. As another review mentioned they do have a large construction crew staying at the hotel. They were not loud or rowdy but they did smoke outside their rooms. The air conditioning draws the smell of smoke in and you smell it in your room. Turning off the AC while they were smoking seemed to help.

"Disaster!"

Recently spent three nights in this Best Western, an establishment in which I have previously stayed many times, over many years. But, never again! The motel has undergone an ownership/management change, and clearly not for the better. The new owners seem to believe that attracting construction workers is their "new demographic," and when these folks behave badly--as they certainly did this past weekend--management did absolutely nothing to address numerous customer complaints. Visiting construction workers took over several rooms and ran wildly and profanely from one room to the other, while drinking and shouting at the top of their lungs. They set upon a grill in front of one room--their HQ--and noxious fumes penetrated adjacent rooms, including mine. I would also note that I do in fact know what marijuana smoke smells like, and this criminal activity was reported to management. On Saturday night--having experiencing two days of highly offensive conduct--I complained to the front desk (Lisa) as to all this degenerative activity. Lisa was essentially non-plussed and non-appologetic about the whole thing, and responded she had previously received these same complaints. Incidentally, on a Saturday night, she was the only front desk staffer on duty in this entire facility. On Sunday morning, I informed the blank-faced manager about this terrible experience and he lamely replied that he had been trying to call the boss of the construction crew.. I responded that he should have earlier evicted these miscreants, but he obviously did not do that. By the way, when a colleague reported his own displeasure, this manger gave him "a bottle of water and a cookie," while trying to make it appear this was some sort of commensurate recompense. I informed the manager I would never return and that I would write a review on Trip Advisor. This is that review.

I have been staying here quite frequently and I want to say that I am very impressed with the customer service I've received. The front desk has great, upbeat and friendly staff members. I would like to recognize Lisa because of her great personality. It is always a pleasure to see her at check-in and William is also very friendly and has a welcoming personality. The waitress named Sandy provides great and prompt service, which is good because I am always in a hurry to get to work. She is very friendly.

This hotel is well run. Daniel at front desk is personable and friendly. Breakfast waitress provided spectacular and quick service. Breakfast buffet is very good. Housekeeping staff are thorough and friendly. The room is comfortable and spacious. I will be staying here on a regular basis.

Good Value hotel. Consistent. The staff is helpful. The property is older but well maintained. Good bar lounge and breakfast buffet has many items. Good for a few days and the pool area in the summer is nice. Close to a wonderful down town. Town of Culpeper has many resturants.

"Nice Overnight Option"

Halfway point between upstate NY and South Carolina. Stopped while bringing my dad south for the winter. Rooms were nice, beds were comfortable and the under window HVAC units worked well. Nice thing too, was the bar and restaurant on site, so once you arrived, you didn't have to leave to get a drink and something to eat. Nice breakfast buffet was served in the AM to fuel up before leaving. Price was right for s quick “on the road” overnight stay.

Excellent value, quality, helpful staff. Easy location to access from Rt 29/15. Close to restaurant, fast food, grocery stores. Internet access great, large flat screen TV, Traditional style of 'motor lodge' but it doesn't mean the room is dated or inferior. Will be staying again in a few weeks!

I have stayed at the Culpepper location since my children moved to this area. It is so convenient. I was very disappointed the last few stays. Room odor was my last complaint. They should update the bedding. Stains on the furniture etc.

Great room for the price. My brother stayed at Holiday Inn next door and for half the price, BW is the better choice. Breakfast is MUCH better at BW with it's hot buffet. The only thing I didn't like was that the beds are advertised Queen when they are really only Full size

Picked this hotel as it offered a bar and restaurant and I knew the location. The value is great and there really aren't any other locations as most business hotels are in the very same area. Bar is very friendly with great staff and serves local draft beers. Overall a great stay !!!

"Econmy hotel with a killer breakfast"

In the economy class, it's not realistic to give more than a 3 star review, since the offering is usually pretty spartan. One exception for this hotel - the breakfast buffet. Wow, this was not an economy class offering; it was a _full_ hot buffet. It put to shame the buffets we have had at more expensive chains. Good job Best Western!

"Mistake ended up in paying for not staying"

I ended up choosing the wrong dates and they would not reimburse me. I made the reservations at 10 PM for that same day. REALLY?!?!?! You would think the site would warn folks that they are booking for a stay that would expire two hours from when you booked! Never staying with this brand again.

This is a nice place and a good value. I got lost trying to find it, so I called the Front Desk. Kim answered and her greeting was very warm. She stayed on the phone with me till I got there, which helped a lot. The layout is an open courtyard style with each of the rooms opening to the outside. The rooms themselves are average, but certainly comfortable. Personnel were accommodating and friendly, but our housekeepers did incomplete jobs of cleaning up and re-stocking each day we were there. Pepper's Restaurant is attached and you get free breakfast meal vouchers for each day you stay. Regrettably, the breakfasts are not that great - but they are free. I would stay here again in the unlikely event that I find myself in Culpeper again.

Great hotel within 30 miles of Skyline Drive. This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious, excellent bacon. We will definitely be back.

We stay here twice a year. The facility is always clean and well kept. The greeting, cleaning and serving staff are always friendly and helpful. The Internet has improved. The neighborhood is safe. You can walk anywhere.

Was impressed at how well the rooms and grounds looked. Even in its older age, this is a still a nice place to stay at a good rate. The hot breakfast was far better than most inns that served various forms of continental style.

The Culpepper Best Western is in a great location and has easy access to the area. The best part about this place is the food. The bar and catering as well as the breakfast surpasses other hotels. Friendly staff. Safe parking.

No complaints. Exceptionally friendly and easy check in with Sharon. Good sized king room. Comfortable bed with fluffy pillows and double sheets. Quiet area, yet convenient to highway. Like the set up with good size pool in the middle. Didn't get to use due to weather, but looked clean. Liked the complimentary free breakfast buffet. Food was very good.

Very solid budget motel. Would stay here again for sure. Clean rooms, quiet, comfortable beds, breakfast is much better than your average American motel continental breakfast. Staff were outstanding. I recommend without any caveats.

"OK for a single night"

This property is really more a motel than a hotel. I think it's important for folks to know that. It changes expectations in my mind. I had brought my bags with me to check in as I usually do and was surprised that I had to go back to my car and drive around the property in order to get to my room. I was there for a single night on business. I had been to this particular conference last year and stayed at a nearby hotel. I wasn't sure which I had stayed in when I booked this year and went with Best Western because I had had great experiences in other Best Western properties. The phone in my room did not work, so when I had a questions or needed something, I had to use my cell phone. The complementary wireless was spotty at best, so I was glad that I had brought my hotspot with me. The one thing that was good was the fact that they have a full restaurant on the premises, so I could get room service - which I hadn't expected.

Unfortunately, this hotel is not up to my standards. The rooms were not clean and I found 2 crickets and a black water bug. I also found 2 bugs on my bed! My sister stayed in another room and she killed 2 of the same black water bugs in her room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were allowed to check in early and they had us in upper level rooms, but we asked to be on the first level and they switched us right away. The maintenance man was sent to my room to replace a light bulb and to check for bugs. He was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, I will not stay here again and will probably avoid staying in all Best Western Hotels.

"Very Nice Stay"

I was very happy with my stay here. Convenient, right off one of the major highways. Pool a big plus, 30 m I think and well-kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was just fine. I don't know if I'll be back in this area again, but this would be my first choice for hotel. Excellent value.

Pleasant hotel. All staff was friendly and helpful. Communication among them needs work. Our room was a little musty smelling. The breakfast was awesome French toast was delicious the hostess were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our weekend stay.

"Really the only Best Western for many miles"

I was there for 5 nights. During that time the amenities were renewed every other day. Despite being a Diamond member and there being plenty of "gift packs" in the reception area none was ever offered, nor any increase in points or room upgrade, if it was possible. The service in the restaurant was usually slow to get shown a table in the evenings, even when there were few people in there. Breakfasts were "odd" as far as the layout is concerned. The tongs to collect food are always left in the item of food under the heat lamps. This makes them VERY hot to use. There was also a metal lid on the pancake/breaded cheese unit. The lid for this is metal, the handle is metal and it is all directly under a heat lamp. So the whole unit is scalding hot and you need to put your hand under a heat lamp to get to it. The rooms themselves are reasonably tired and I would assume there are plans to redecorate in the next year.

"Worst hotel stay EVER."

Came for family funeral arrangements & upon check-in found handicap room booked for 2 unusable. Only alternative was to take room on upper floor distant from lobby without accessible fixtures. Despite elevator on site, it was very difficult... made worse by horrible beds that resulted in miserable, if any, sleeping!! We requested repair to poorly draining shower, & extra towels, but neither were addressed. If you want a comfortable stay, go elsewhere!

"Nice day for a wedding"

Stayed at BW-Cupeper while attending an off-site late summer wedding. Held rehearsal dinner at a private room at Peppers and while the service was a bit disorganized, the food and drinks were very good. The square structure of the hotel with the pool at the inside center was very nice as we spent a nice, warm late evening after the wedding sitting at tables alongside the pool looking at the stars. Breakfast was very good - nice selection, good quality, good service. All in all a nice weekend at the BW-Culpeper

"Musty room"

There was a definite musty odour in the room that we could not get rid of even with an open door. The windows did not open and as a result there is no air movement. Hard to sleep with that smell permeating everything, Also 2 of the 4 lights did not work, nor did the clock radio

We were in town for a wedding and only stayed one night. I was neat, clean and well maintained. The bathroom was very small though. Otherwise, we would stay there again if in that area again. It is beautiful country up there.

The rooms were so much nicer than I expected them to be! They were very spacious, the beds were comfortable and I was able to get a great nights sleep. Wasn't expecting anything crazy for the price I paid, but I was very happy overall and would definitely recommend!

We come down here every year for a conference with a lot of friends. Always a fun time, great hotel, and a great location. Food and device are always good. Love the fact that the pool is in the center of the hotel rooms. Makes for a cozy atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

The buffet breakfast was disappointing. Hard biscuits, tasteless eggs, warm canned fruit, fresh french toast that wasn't hot. The room was noisy from some unidentified sound from the exterior. Our faucet dripped when off unless turned a certain way.

"Well maintained older hotel"

This was originally a Holiday Inn and was for many years the nicest hotel in Culpeper. It is now the second nicest, but is usually quite a bit less expensive that the new Holiday Inn next door. The hotel has been very well maintained; only a few minor problems show. The breakfast is pretty much the best free hotel breakfast anywhere. The hotel restaurant was once a top tier steakhouse; now it is an a fairly decent imitation of its past. There is a lively bar attached to the restaurant. This hotel is popular with construction workers but they seem to behave.

Arrived here by chance but found it a great place to stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms, pool and areas. Breakfast is included and has a wide variety of choice. Culpeper is also a very good place for shops and restaurants. Would recommend highly.

Stayed here for triathlon. Everything was easy...easy off the highway, easy parking, easy checkin. No more than 12 mins to race venue. Room was clean, and plenty of room for all 4 of us and bike. Ample pool and pool area. Breakfast was substantial, and a deal as it was included.

"BUGS..."

My family and I checked into your facility on Saturday 7-29. The 1st "non smoking room" reeked of cigarette smoke. I went back to the lobby to advise the front desk and was given another room. The 2nd room was appalling!!! There were dead bugs EVERYWHERE, including a dead ROACH in the bathroom area. This is obviously unacceptable and disgusting. After traveling hours to get to our destination for the night, this was not something we should have had to deal with. This experience left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We will NOT be staying in a BW ever again. Luckily, we were able to find a clean hotel in the area who accommodated us so late at night.

Love this hotel, because no pets are allowed in the rooms. They also have rooms for those who choose too smoke. It is east to locate, convenient to restaurants and lots of places of interest. The staff at this hotel, were excellent.

Great place to stay but the guy at the front desk was a little rude. The rest of the place was great. Food at breakfast was a great value, rooms were clean, and price was also a great value. It was close to all the attractions we went to for our vacation. Culpeper VA is a great place to visit.

Kinda of an older motel style place but the best Breakfast I have had at any hotel. Very kind and friendly staff. Clean rooms even though they are slightly outdated. Good parking. Its was very OK for the money. Not a place I would extended stay on a vacation, but very nice for a short layover. Outdoor pool was clean and nice.

"A Fine Stay in Virginia Piedmont"

My family and I have stayed at the Best Western in Culpeper for more than 15 years. I need to be in the area for quarterly meetings and we come for a 4 or 5-day Reunion each July. We find the BW to offer the best value for the money, a good hot breakfast, and a wonderful swimming pool in the garden courtyard in the summer months.

Employees were excellent. The amenities were terrific. Although the rooms were average and the bathrooms small, it was extremely clean and the mattress very comfortable. The small pillows opened up to standard size. We will use this Best Western again in the future.

"Great breakfast"

This hotel provided the basic comfort needs for a quick one night stay. The big bonus was the excellent breakfast. We were expecting the usual chain microwaveable food. However the scrambled eggs were real eggs, and also offered were bacon, pancakes, French toast, grits, biscuits and gravy, fruit and very good coffee. Outdoor pool looked clean but we had no need for it for a one night stay.

Good location, clean rooms, clean pool, good breakfast. The only negative I had was I left a top in my room after checking out and the cleaning staff said they didn't see it. Of course. I did call and report it...of course nothing was done.

"Just Mildew"

This place is old and there is absolutely no amount of paint or wallpaper to mask the thick smell of mildew and smoke.As I've stayed before in a different room and encountered the same issue, it may be safe to safe to suspect most or all of the rooms are like this. If you or your children are allergic, I would not recommend this Best Western.

Was a great place to stay close to our daughter's home. The staff respected our wishes to not have any maid service because we stayed two nights. The breakfasts were delicious and had many choices; even soft serve ice cream! There was always pleasant and available staff at the front desk. The only minor irritant was the air conditioner made a soft roaring noise when it came on, but did not interfere with sleep.

"Great outdoor pool."

The motel is very clean and renovated rooms. The compemtery breakfast in the restaurant, was great. Not a lot of hotel options in this area. We were glad with our choice to stay here. Big outdoor pool and patio area that everyone enjoyed.

"Just what I expected"

This is not a fancy hotel, but it had exactly what we needed for the night while traveling for a wedding. The room was clean, the kids liked the pool and there was an iron/ironing board for our clothes. The buffet breakfast actually had more than I expected including eggs and biscuits and gravy.

"Outdated Hotel"

–WiFi didn't work in the room or in the lobby, even after asking for help from the staff. –No bottled water or snacks were in the lobby; I was told to go to a breezeway outside and use the vending machine for bottled water. Because this hotel was so expensive, it surprised me that they wouldn't have those amenities available in the lobby. –The hotel room was very outdated. –The towels were extremely stiff, nearly unusable. –I couldn't sleep because the pillows I had were not standard size pillows but were just small square throw pillows. –I woke up to a weed eater outside my bedroom door. –The breakfast was cold and was left out for too long at the buffet. –Three lamps in my room did not work.

Quiet clean affordable beds not bad but we're a little firm for my liking I'd stay here again the free breakfast was amazing I was pleased with the buffet I like driving up to my room. The pool area is nice.

Check in and check out was quick and easy. As a Best Western Awards member received a token welcome bag--simple but a very nice gesture. Room was quiet. Complementary breakfast was quite nice--served in the hotel's restaurant--included a couple wait staff to take plates from the table--had regular vs paper plates. Room didn't have a fresh aroma. Needs something to reduce some slight odors.

"Pleasant experience, but room was not cleaned"

We stayed here for two weekend nights during a tandem bicycle rally. Check in went very smoothly and the room was nicely appointed - refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. However, the bathroom was quite small - hard to get in and shut the door. Shower worked well. On Saturday we went for a bike ride at 8am and didn't return until after 1pm. The room had not been cleaned. Finally about 3pm my wife complained and they said they would clean the room. We were expecting company, so we simply tidied up the room ourselves and were given fresh towels. Also, internet was spotty at times and taxes added over 10% to the bill. Breakfast was a cut above the norm, but service was just so-so.

The hotel is about 2 miles from the downtown. Our room faced to the hotel next door, so was quieter than the other side. There are also rooms facing the patio where the pool is. The bed was comfortable. Hotel staff was super helpful and nice. This is a good location to explore surroundings.

Have stayed here many times without any problem. This time no internet working until next day morning. Pool was great, staff great but no computer or tablet use. Wife called desk and was told of internet problem. Hopefully next stay it will be fixed.

It was nice being helped by a wait staff. My wife enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate. The set up for the food was buffet style. The eggs were actually not premade. French toast and pancakes. Food was fresh add long as there were people there otherwise it sat awhile. Overall good though.

"Lackluster and smelly"

We booked this hotel on TripAdvisor knowing we had a wedding to attend in the area. We were unaware of our options and were guided by the Trip Advisor reviews. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to request a non-smoking room upon booking. Thinking that maybe it wasn't an option, I dismissed my concerns, thinking that it wasn't a big deal. I was VERY wrong. Although the desk staff were very polite, upon entering the room, the stench was awful. I don't think bars retain that much cigarette stink. There were cigarette burns on the carpet, & on the bedding. The room appeared to be fairly clean, but there were odd stains on the bathroom wall and the toilet paper dispenser appeared similar to one you might see in a gas station bathroom. I dreaded showering in there, especially since the toilet and shower were so closely located and closing the door required one to do some maneuvering. The next morning we got up, went to the restaurant for our free breakfast, and prepared to leave to shop in downtown Culpeper. Breakfast was ok for a free breakfast and the wait staff were very nice. We wouldn't have paid for breakfast there, and were concerned that the serve-yourself buffet was dirty. I witnessed multiple people reusing dirty plates and allowing the spoon from the buffet item to touch their dirty plates. A child was applying whipped cream to his already "syrupped" pancakes with a spoon and then placing that sticky spoon back into the community dish of whipped cream. The bacon wasn't cooked enough for our tastes and my mother's biscuit was doughy inside. My husband's sausage tasted odd. We left and returned to the room around 2pm. We had never received maid service and our trash was just about overflowing. At this point I had to put the "do not disturb" sign up so that he could take a nap prior to the wedding we were attending. We returned that night, after the wedding, and there hadn't been maid service. Our trash cans were overflowing this morning before we left. My parents, staying in the room next door, experienced the same. They actually had to go to the front desk to request toilet paper. We were so glad to leave this morning. Our suit rental bag, (from the wedding), as well as suitcases, arrived at home REEKING of stale cigarette smoke. Unfortunately I can't wash those. I did throw all of our laundry and clothing from the suitcase immediately in the wash. I don't recommend this hotel if you have a choice. We were close to eating this hotel as a one, but since there weren't any used hypodermic needles or condoms in the room, we bumped it up a notch.

I would stay there again! Staff are excellent in every way, I was really impressed at the professionalism and pleasant manner of all staff I interacted with. The breakfast buffet was really good! The room was clean, in good repair; the beds were great!! Pleasant in every way. Easy access to highway and shopping nearby - within walking distance. It was everything we needed.

Room plumbing needed repair. Bed was uncomfortable. Doors were tight. Location was excellent and restaurant was convienent as well as food was tasty. Pricing was a little lower compared to other hotels but booking was always the same regardless what service/agency was searched. Seniors should always be booked on the first floor considering distance and access to any elevators.

Check in was fast reservations were in order front staff very professional lobby clean the whole facility was well kept room was clean and bathroom linen all in order first time at best western facilities usually stay at Hiltons but found this to be very acceptable WILL RETURN to a best western front office signed us up for rewards program much appreciated breakfast way above the average buffet the morning staff AWSOME very quite easy parking well light at night on sight bar nice wifi good plugs on counter tops great for charging

This is the hotel for you -if you like a BIG breakfast with all the fixings! Excellent selection with a waitress staff. Conveniently located off the highway (29). There is a nightclub with a live band on Friday night. Bed was ok and room was somewhat noisy.

I was there for my grandsons' wedding. I was very upset with the way the night shift staff behaved. She was very disrespectful of guests who came back to the hotel after the wedding. She was very unprofessional when telling the guests that the outdoor patio was closed for the evening. She did not speak to the guests, she came outside yelling. There were many rooms occupied by guests of the wedding.

"Very nice surprise"

We decided to stay here for three nights during spring break. We could stay here for 3 nights for the same price as one night in northern VA. Our room faced the court yard. The motel was very quiet and clean (except for the cigarette butts near the elevator and the drink/ice machines). The rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely conformable. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever had at a hotel. If you can eat it for breakfast, then it was on the buffet. My only suggestion would be to make the entire campus smokefree.

"Non-smokers Beware"

Incompetent management system. Smokers and non-smokers put all intermixed. Since the room opens to the outdoors, a smoker in the next room steps outside for a smoke, no big deal right?, wrong, the AC unit is right next to the door and that smoke is immediately pulled into adjacent rooms and rooms within 5 or 6 doors down, it was sickening. "Very Good Basic Motel"

When visiting relatives in the area we have stayed at the Best Western Culpeper. The rooms are clean and comfortable, especially the bed. A complimentary breakfast is included that has both hot and cold items. We do not use the outdoor pool but it seems very family friendly..It appears many business people and construction and road workers stay here during the week. Only drawback is sometimes they must leave early and if your room is on the outside of the motel it is easy to hear the cars and some conversation.

This is the perfect place to stay if you are traveling along Western Virginia. Good people and super friendly. The rooms are quite comfortable. They have a great included breakfast. You'll find an easy-on easy-off to the highway and nearby are plenty of food options. Just a great place to stay for business or family fun.

"Cozy and Comfortable Room"

I was generally very pleased with our two night stay at the Best Western Inn in Culpeper. Check-in was very easy. I did try to call the front desk back for 45 min. after we checked in to get more instructions for the wi-fi and no one answered. The user name is actually a number and the password is the word! The room was spacious and generally clean. Covers were a little scanty and the pillows were terrible-bring your own!!! The breakfast was fantastic. The grounds around the hotel was nicely kept. I will definitely go back to this hotel when visiting relatives in the area.

There really wasn't anything particularly bad with this place, just not quite right. The room was clean enough; bed OK; service alright etc. We just felt like it was a little run down, not our kind of place. Price was a bit high for what you get. The hotel i can only speak of is my room,restaurant and office.I had no problem with the restaurant and the office is no different than any other.The two Ladies that were at the check-in desk was very pleasant and helpful same for the two gentleman at check-out.It was great having a restaurant on site and food was great and service was excellent and there was takeout too.One thing i forgot and this may be helpful or not but you get a little gift at check-in coupons for meals,bottle of water and pack of cookies nice.All in all i enjoyed my stay and will make this hotel of choice when in the area again.ollie

Clean & comfy. Fresh, clean, quality linens. A/C unit kicks butt. Included breakfast buffet awesome. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room nice. Bed comfy. Nice location on Rte 29. Culpeper nice & easy to get around. Any amenity you can think of. WiFi weak but never failed! Thanks for a great stay. We are going to seek out BW hotels first

"Vacation comfort after work"

This Hotel had the design of a small resort. The pool, laid out in the center of all the rooms, was perfect along side the patio and restaurant. Plenty of shopping centers nearby and it was surprising to find a movie cinema not even 5 minutes away.

The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. We came in with a group of about 22 people. Check in was fairly quick. The room was clean and neat. The A/C worked fine-and it was hot this past weekend!! A couple of rooms had A/C issues-but they were addressed quickly by the staff. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Had a great on site bar and restaurant. There were 2 large groups there the same time that we were there but never any issues with having space at the pool or getting in to eat breakfast or dinner. One of our group needed a shower chair which was happily given to him to use by the front desk.

"Not up to 21 century standards"

This hotel isn't worth the money, no matter how inexpensive the nightly rate might be. The property is ancient, the rooms smell like feet, the beds are terrible, and the front desk staff all act as though they were hired yesterday (I.e. A third grader has more intellect then these folks). The only positive about this hotel is the restaurant attached to the property. The manager over there is fantastic. Right next door is a great 21 century hotel, do yourself a favor and stay there and walk to the restaurant.

Of the group of hotels in this block of town ( 6 or 7 all together) - BW has a value and amenities, like fitness room w/ more than one treadmill, that make it worth while.. I have stayed at at least one other motel/ hotel in the immediate area it is not the same in comfort or convenience

Mid to low range hotel.. It's clean and has all you need, but don't expect anything fancy.. A bedding upgrade would do this hotel well.. The comforter is VERY old.. Minimal toiletries. kind of OK for an overnight stay, but wouldn't do any extended visits here

Each year our organization holds a weekend conference here. The staff as a whole go above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. "Very Convenient"

We have started to use the Best Western in Culpeper now that we have a relative who moved to that town. There are several other hotels available but the Best Western has some rooms with direct entry from the parking lot. It is very convenient for us because it is so easy to get the luggage from the car to the room. Our rooms have been clean, even though a little dated. It was quiet and we slept fine. Breakfast is included and there is an ample selection. The only disappointment is they do not provide real butter for toast or pancakes but rather a whipped spread whose first two ingredients are liquid soybean oil and partially hydrogenated soybean oil. Definitely UNHEALTHY.

This place has very nice rooms (not sticky humid like another place we stayed on the same trip) with good AC unit that is a little quieter than the usual motel AC but still keeps the room comfortable. The buffet breakfast was down in the Pepers restaurant and had a very nice selection of eggs, bacon & sausage patties, biscuits & gravy, pancakes & french toast, and different options of fruit. Much heartier than the normal motel breakfast. Well worth the money, and the pool looked good even though we didn't go in.

Rooms are immaculate with comfortable beds and pillows. Pool is well kept and clean and a relaxing way to get relief . Breakfast buffet suited all food needs with a well appointed buffet and breads. Multiple rooms were booked for a family reunion. There was a delightful and clean outdoor seating area and an indoor room for the gathering of groups.

Clean, quiet, easy to find. Best breakfast of any hotel we have stayed at. I especially like the fact that there was no waffle machine in the restaurant to create a giant mess by guests who can't figure out how to use it.

When we arrived in told front desk my parents were handicapped they switched our room to a room u could park right outside the door and right beside ice machine and vending. The room was clean and had USB ports on night stands and desk for charging phones. There is a pool and it looked clean and the grounds were clean and well maintained. The most surprising thing was they have a restaurant in the hotel they give u a breakfast voucher ticket when you check- in. When u go to breakfast it is a large hot breakfast bar with real eggs not powdered, toppings for your eggs,homemade sausage and chip beef gravy, soft fluffy biscuit, grits, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit, coral, juices, milk and waitress serve you drinks if you want coffee or tea. If I lived there is would go to the breakfast buffet often. Such a nice surprise!

I stay at this location for business up to 4 weeks a year and love it! The staff is the best! I always feel very welcomed when I check in and nothing is ever too much trouble for these lovely people. The rooms are small but clean and I love parking at the door. There is a large pool area and a spotlessly clean and sparkling pool! The complimentary breakfast is wonderful! The entire staff is wonderful and I compliment Jason, the manager, on assembling such a nice group of people!

Not so great. Stay at the holiday inn next door. There were spiders in the bathroom, bathroom faucet broke, weird pillows and overall just a little sketchy. Rough crowd hanging around outside. Breakfast was good, but I say spend a little more and stay someplace better.

I had a room that smelled strongly of mold, and was made worse when running the AC. There was black mold and pink mold on the bathtub caulk. The shower curtain had brown mold on the bottom. The housekeeping is not good. I used a wet paper towel to wipe the granite bathroom vanity and it was brown after wiping. The corners and along baseboard were very dusty and there were live and dead bugs in the room. Very disappointed. I'm a regular customer of Best Western and this hotel ranks low compared to others.

"Not as I expected"

The hotel is old, as soon as you enter the room the carpet has that terrible smell of not being clean for a while, the sheets gave me a itch and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The bar was ok, even if it closes at 12:00 am even if full of people and teo weddings after parties going on, with at least 100 people kicked out. Never going there again.

"At least there is a restaurant on site"

The hotel is an older style hotel where all the doors open directly onto a common open walkway and the window is next to it. This forces you to close the curtains very early to stop people seeing in. The day I arrived they had just finished resurfacing the parking lot. Plenty of cracks in the new surface but the line painting has been done well. Sadly the smell of tarmac was everywhere and never left the room in the two nights I stayed over. The pool is a open air pool and of a decent size. Not sure if it is heated or not but it was busy until well past dusk - suggest asking for a room that does not look at the pool if you don't want the noise. This hotel is unusual in that it has a bar/restaurant. The food was OK and the service excellent. Breakfast is a little different. Same location but different staff. A token is needed for breakfast which the staff are VERY keen to receive, almost like it's $20. Almost did not bother with breakfast the second day due to the attitude of the staff. Asked if there was any ketchup and was told "I will get that for you". To which the waitress carried on serving coffee or collecting plates whilst my breakfast, already on the table, got colder. Why the ketchup is not on the tables already, along with the salt/pepper that I did not require, I do not understand.

"Comfortable, friendly, nice details"

This is not the most chi-chi hotel you'll ever stay at, but it's sparkling clean, the staff and the rooms are pleasant, and they pay good attention to the little things--USB charging ports on the lamp in the room, for instance. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes south-west of Dulles International Airport outside Washington DC--just far enough away to escape the crazy traffic. I would stay there again.

"Clean and comfortable"

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The grounds were well kept. My friend got really sick and had to drop me off at the hotel two hours earlier than the normal check in. They allowed me and I was able to get to my room. What a relief. I would recommend this Best Western Inn. Free breakfast too.

The room was OK, Definitely not worth 119.00 a night. It was a little out dated for my liking. I had a nonsmoking room, that smelled like smoke, There were also a lot of people hanging out there that night. I wont stay there again.

Pre booked two nights, but United cancelled 2 flights on us and we were only able to stay one night. Came totally stressed out after fiasco with airlines and lost luggage, left calm and relaxed. Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, lovely breakfast, would love to go back

We have stayed here several times. It's comfortable and the people are so friendly. A very clean room and bed. They offer a free breakfast but we can't resist the urge to go into town to Frost Cafe. The little town is beautiful.

"Old but adequate."

We stayed here for a wedding. The hotel is convenient but is definitely dated with outside corridors, not inside. It does appear they are refurbishing rooms but our room was not. We had two queen beds but the sheets on one were very old and scratchy. The towels were also threadbare. The staff, however, were nice and helpful with the maid for our room asking if we had everything we needed, which doesn't happen very often. The room came with tickets for breakfast. The breakfast was quite good and with many choices. The pool was a plus for many guests and they seemed to enjoy it. There is a small bar area which seemed to be busy each evening.

There was a wedding group there that was loud (and the females were foul-mouthed) and still at it at 1:30 AM. I complained to the front desk. Within a few minutes the nincompoops were sent to their own rooms.

"Awful night"

The overall experience was acceptable but bar patrons (inside restaurant) were loud and hung outside the back door until nearly midnight. Lots of pillows but squishy and without support. No extra linens and I was cold, despite higher room temp. Hardly slept all night, which ruined next day's activities and caused a scary drive home! Not to be repeated.

"Good for my purpose"

I was in town for one night to attend a fundraising event. So, I used the room to sleep, shower and change. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and everything worked as it was supposed to. Being a mid level hotel, the furnishings were are not luxury, but neither was the price. I did have a couple of drinks in the lounge with a business associate and found tap selections to be good for a place like this, plus the free breakfast was better than most free breakfasts I have had at similar hotels.

"Just ok"

This hotel was ok. It is an older hotel and it has outside entrance doors to the rooms, which I do not like. Also you have to go outside to the hotel reassurance to eat the breakfast bar. The food is free but you have to leave a tip for the lady that just brings coffee. So it really isn't free. Outdoor pool was being renovated , grounds were a little torn up when we were there in April of 2016. Beds were fairly soft and lumpy. It is not close to anything so you will have to drive to eat or shop. Over all, I probably would not stay here again, but if you don't mind all that I stated, it would be ok for a night or two. We stayed 3 nights.

Easy to find location. Very clean room . Nice staff. Wonderful waitresses. Enjoyed being able to eat at the diner to relax after traveling all day. Also enjoyed the quiet night , not having to listen to outside traffic.

"Great Value, Would Return"

There are 6 or 7 hotels all together - so location doesn't vary much. This Best Western is motel style with outside entrances - and parts of it are under renovation. The room was typical motel style but comfortable, large enough and everything worked great. The biggest plus is the on-site restaurant - Peppers. Great food (the locals do come here). The breakfast was outstanding compared to other hotel breakfasts - easily a $10/person value (assuming you get hot food and not just cereal. There are a few other restaurants within walking distance, but "downtown" is just over a mile away...no options to stay downtown.

I stay in hotels often - and usually at mid-range or high end properties based on my business travel destinations. Culpeper does not have a Marriott or Hilton chain property, so I started staying at Best Western. I have found this property to be very nice, clean and easy to get around. The staff really makes the difference. They are friendly, efficient and it's easy to see that they each care about their job and the hotel.

Located amongst a grove of hotel choices. So glad we choose this one. The room was average. It had all the amenities for a comfortable overnight stay. It was clean. The staff was friendly. The biggest surprise was the full complimentary breakfast, the best of any hotel in this price range I've stayed in. The value was great! I would highly recommend.

We came to town for a family funeral, when we checked in it was quick and easy, for the cost we fell this was a excellent choice. The in house Restaurant and Bar made it easy a great breakfast and easy to get something to eat when you came in late. The staff you have is great. I arrived on Sunday, which turned out to be bingo night. The place looked a little shady with people smoking and milling around outside. BUT it was never noisy and they departed without a scene. Average motel. Breakfast was OK if deserted.

We were in the area to visit with a group of friends for dinner and decided we didn't want to make the 90+ minute drive home. After some research and other reviews, we made a reservation at the Best Western. It was a clean room and the front desk staff was pleasant. This is an older motor lodge property, but the room was in great shape. Will stay again if in the area.

"Excellent Culpeper Hotel"

I have stayed at the Best Western numerous times to do genealogy. This small town is wonderful, a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. I now come for business and pleasure; just to get a night away. I have always been pleased with this hotel. The restaurant is wonderful (the steaks and prime rib are amazing), the bar is great too. There is a 7-11 next door incase you forget anything. Can't ask for anything better- :)

We had a nice room overlooking the swimming pool. The breakfast was really nice, hot and cold items. Friendly staff, no complaints at all. It served it purpose for us for an overnight stay as we were just passing through.

I stay at this motel at least two times every year. The hotel is very clean. The cleaning staff is very helpful and friendly. Attached is Peppers restaurant. The food there is good if you order off the menu. The buffet is OK. My negative is the poor internet there.

Love this place. We always stay here with our pet. Breakfast is excellent and the rooms are clean. Convenient to I 95. Rates are fair and it's close to several restaurants. Staff is also very nice. Shoneys restaurant is walking distance. Great place to stop right off I 95.

We only stayed one night but it was a pleasant experience. We have made it a habbit when we travel to only stay at Best Western hotels. We drove to another state the next day and ended up staying at an EconoLodge and we regretted it. We have always had very good experiences at Best Western hotels. I would say the only thing I really disliked was the shape of the pillows which were squares.

Okay, this is a clean, basic, no frills hotel. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Check in was fast. I had no issues. I didn't do breakfast because it was 6:30a-7:30a on Mondaymorning and I wanted to sleep in since I was on vacation. Nothing really near the place, there is a wings restaurant attched to the hotel.

"Old motel, but clean & friendly"

We stayed here for 1 night while attending a wedding in the area. It is an old building, but the rooms and public areas are very clean and well kept. The breakfast service was well managed, with a decent buffet selection. We headed into downtown Culpeper on Saturday morning and definitely recommend a visit to this lovely town.

"Going Down Hill"

Have been staying here once a year for several years. Each year I give a review and it is for the most part very favorable. However.....this will be my first year of disappointments. Check in was not great. New to this hotel was a young man who was rude and very sharp mouthed at check in counter. Butted in when I was talking to another young man about checking in. Had to voice his opinion and how things are done, over riding the customers (my) request. The next day found out he was new to this hotel. Recommended to the manager that he be re-trained on customer service. The rooms smelled of mildew and were damp. Theses rooms had gone through a overall about three years ago, but the are starting to look tired. Carpet was dirty and bed spreads smelled. Mattresses seem to be worn well in the middle. Night time crowds around bar area was very questionable. Saw a drug deal going down when pulled into parking lot. A lot of kids hanging out in back parking lots who were not guests of the hotel but lived in a development down the road. Reported it to front desk, don't know if they did anything. Breakfast was one of the biggest disappointments. Very poor selection, rubber powder eggs, small size pastries, tiny little biscuits, chopped up fruit, coffee machines empty at 6:30am. One waitress for the whole dining room. The next morning (Saturday) much better breakfast, eggs were still powdered but freasher. Plenty of coffee, more selection at the breakfast bar. Was told that the week days things are down sized depending on the no of guests at the hotel. "Quality and a good selection should never be changed at a business which is catering to customer service and repeat business". So in closing I think our group needs to look at another hotel if things do not improve by next year.

"Peaceful Whilest Plentiful Motel"

Lured to Culpeper for husband's workshop weekend, this Best Western Motel was recommended for our three night stay. We both enjoyed our daily separate times and together evenings. The enticing fall festival towns were rewarding. I sketched and painted in the motel's lovely courtyard, watched a variety of cable T.V. and appreciated the easily accessed motel internet. Our early breakfasts of many hot and cold options was a surprising boost to the day.

After a busy day, all we were looking for was a clean room and comfortable bed and we got it. The decor is maybe a little tired, but no complaints as far as cleanliness is concerned. Surprisingly, as busy as the road seemed to be, we did not notice the traffic and it was a quiet location.

This hotel is an older facility, but has been kept up to date and well maintained. It is laid out around a beautiful central court with a pool. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast, which consists of a variety of hot and cold items is served in an adjoining restaurant.

"Poorly staffed"

We drove several hours for a family visit that we had to cut short because the hotel wrongly booked our visit and instead of 2 nights only booked 1 even after personally speaking with them and verifying the reservation. They then were incredibly when their mistake was pointed out and we were told that "they would never have booked that reservation" and that we were mistaken. The room was clean and close to several restaurants. The breakfast was good but the waitresses that bring drinks was rude and while it was obvious that two were working only one was actually helping anyone and if the other was asked she simply yelled across the dining room at the other girl. I will not stay here again.

"Nice place close to town"

This place is located at one of those "off the highway" lodging areas, with several hotel/motels next to each other. A 2 minute drive will bring you into downtown Culpepper, where there's lots of food and other things to do. The rooms were good based on the price, and the bedsheets and towels were clean. Breakfast buffet was the same everyday, but the food is fulfilling. One negative thing I have to say is that the wifi did not work.

Very clean and comfortable. Maids did knock both mornings early with Do no disturb sign out. Breakfast was good every morning.lots of choices. Close to the places I needed to go to and see. Culpeper is a great little town I hope to return and I will stay in the Best Western.

We were in Virginia at the Fredericksburg & Chancellorsville Civil War battlefield sites and stayed at the Best Western Culpeper Inn on our way home to Pennsylvania. What a smart decision! The motel was easy to find, right off the interstate, and the front desk person was friendly and helpful during both check-in and check-out. The room itself was spotless and spacious, and included a small fridge and microwave. It was quiet -- we didn't hear a peep out of our "next-door neighbors" -- and the king bed was very comfortable. We ate at the in-house restaurant, Peppers, and both my husband's steak and my prime rib were delicious. In the morning, a full hot breakfast buffet was included as well, and it was wonderful. We did not use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. We would absolutely stay here again when in the area.

"Nice but...."

Staff is courteous and friendly. The rooms are a tad small (and so are the pillows) - bed is not comfortable. Parking is excellent.... Free breakfast is excellent - nice choices. Excellent location - right near major exchanges. Near gas stations.

"Wonderful Stay"

I have worked in the area on two other separate occasions and I will stay here again if I have the opportunity to be in the area. I'm sorry I didn't stay at this hotel on the last two trips! As far as I'm concerned this is the only hotel to stay at. Quiet rooms, great service and a beautiful property.

"Very satisfied traveler"

We chose this hotel as a less expensive option while attending a wedding. The hotel staff was helpful at all times, the king bed room was clean and roomy enough for my wheelchair bound husband. It was wonderful to have so many breakfast items to choose from in a restaurant setting each morning to save on meal expenses. The staff allowed our adult son to change to a smoking room on the last day when a friend who smoked arrived. They didn't charge extra even though the change was made after checkout time. The grounds and parking lots were well maintained. Overall, we were very happy with our 4 night stay and plan to stay again on future visits since we have family in the area.

Our stay was perfect. It's a beautiful facility. Our room was perfect. The grounds especially within the center of the property with the large pool, within the large grassy area, was so beautiful and relaxing. We walked around it one lovely evening just to enjoy being outside in a beautifull and safe place. Thank you for creating and maintaining such a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was huge and fantastic!! Don't miss it!
