« Throwback hotel in Burquitlam »

No doubt you will take a second look around when you first walk into the hotel. Its a throwback to another era (mirrored ceilings in the lobby, palm trees around the indoor courtyard and pool). Actually a fun setting to house our young hockey team for a tournament weekend. It worked well for us and the staff were very accommodating while the kids and parents ran amuck. My only word of caution is the hotel restaurant. The menu might look ok, but don't waste your time and choose another option. They actually have suites with full kitchens, so go for the upgrade an cook yourself a nice healthy meal.

    « Wedding stay »

The Best Western Plus Coquitlam Inn is a wonderful hotel. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The indoor pool and atrium gives the feeling of a resort. I stayed in a room with a king bed and found the bed great. The room was wonderful however the bathroom was a tad small.

    « Outstanding! »

Excellent place to stay in Coquitlam. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The pool is a great temperature. Restaurants offer excellent food and service and overall this hotel is a great value for the money. I would highly recommend this hotel!

« Fantastic staff makes this older property a plus in my book! »

Driving from Calgary to Coquitlam is stunning. The beauty of Banff National Park leaves one breathless at every turn. After an 11 hour drive in a U-Haul truck our 2 bedroom suite was a welcome change. This Best Western is in southwest Coquitlam a stones throw from Burnaby. It is central to both the Trans Canada highway and Lougheed highway. The small kitchen and one bathroom in our suite have been upgraded with new cabinets, floor tile, counter tops and plumbing fixtures sometime in the last five years. The rest of the unit seems to be older. This is a popular hotel with travelers and business people and these facilities are well used. Our unit at the back of the hotel and in a separate building was relatively quiet, however; walking in the unit located above ours was easily heard. Upon arrival we found the room clean with sufficient supplies. There are wide screen TVs in 3 rooms with a multitude of stations. All TSN and SN local Canadian and American channels, news channels, kids channels. There is a safe in the room. JOEY Coquitlam is an excellent restaurant that may be walked to from the back of the hotel and up a small driveway and road. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant. Additional Korean and Chinese restaurants are within 100 metres of the hotel as is a liquor store. The cleaning staff and front staff were all pleasant, and very obliging when we had requests. The hotel has a pool, exercise room, steam room, sauna and bar lounge. Sadly we did not use any of these amenities. There is plenty of parking. I recommend this hotel.

« Great for JIBC Students »

For those attending training at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) this hotel is ideal. Five minutes to school with little traffic. Good Wi-Fi. Easy parking. Great place to do homework and get a decent meal. Reasonable value if you get a government rate.

    « Great family hotel »

The pool is really great for the kids and the room was clean and quiet. My daughter was very upset when she discovered she left her treasured doll at the hotel and Kelly was kind enough to let me know it was found so we could get it back home safely! Great Customer Service :)

    « Our Experience »

The hotel was nice, friendly staff, convenient location. The bed was SO uncomfortable, our room had a very strong cologne smell and there was a homicide across the street that made it very uncomfortable.

    « Never a disappointment. Consistently Good. »

I have been staying at this hotel for business and family trips over the past 12 years....Consistently good. When travelling to Vancouver, my preference is to always stay at this hotel and catch the sky-train into downtown...quick and simple, no point in battling traffic.

    « Nice Hotel »

Hotel was very nice and clean. Was only there for one night and booked last minute. Everybody was very accommodating to any of our needs. Would stay there again in the future for business also. Lots of different food choices in the area close by.

    « An Okay Stay »

Stayed for our holiday in British Columbia. Hotel is okay and staff from reception to breakfast lack smile. Hotel also has no elevator going to our room hence not convenient if you bring a lot of stuff with you. Offers plated breakfast only. Would suggest to have a buffet breakfast instead. However nice indoor pool with jacuzzi. Housekeeping did a good job in cleaning our room.

« Getting a little long in the tooth »

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with our adult daughter and her two children aged 1 and 4. Reasonably located off the freeway and near a Skytrain station about 3 blocks away. We have stayed occasionally at this hotel over the years (about 35 years( and were aware that it is a little dated now. We were disappointed in the pool tempeerature as it was not warm enough for children to stay in long and for us seniors it was just too cool to enjoy - so we didn't enjoy the stay.

    « Good location, value »

This hotel is good value, has good amenities such as an indoor pool and hot tub. Restaurant was understaffed during my stay, but friendly and good food. I like the 10% off of food in the restaurant just for staying in the hotel. Internet services were quick. All in all, a good restful stay.

    « hotel stay »

Excellent accommodation with very friendly and helpful staff. We were at this property for three night and found the many features of this property very nice and relaxing. The garden court was especially pleasing.

« Great place for my team »

Brought my ball team here for a tournament. Great service, clean rooms, and lots of fun. They allowed the kids to be kids and weren't too worried about the noise level until after quiet time hours. Nice location, close to sky train which gets you anywhere you want to go visit!

    « Nice place »

Nice clean, friendly, place to stay. Indoor pool with hot tub, well maintained. Fitness room. Restaurant has good food, Dining room/lounge, sit and watch a game and have a drink or two. Staff is friendly and helpful through out the hole Hotel.

« Stay here for a most pleasant experience »

Stayed 3 nights. Great place, excellent staff- very clean, pool and hot-tub plus Atrium. Would stay here again - hated to leave. We are seniors and staff was very helpful in making sure we were always looked after. Highly recommended to everyone.

    « Good location »

OK it greater Vancouver so there is an opportunity to over charge. But it's clean, well located, good food, and our rooms were quite. The pool is clean and safe, should be fun for children. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the sky train. There is a wine and beer store on site, a nice lounge, and good meeting rooms. I would definitely use this place again, my clients were happy I am happy

« Feels like a small city hotel »

The rooms are a great size. The bed was very comfortable. Some of the rooms have a double vanity so if there are more than one person getting ready for a special event or just ready for the day. Most of the main floor rooms back our to the pool area. The pool area is very humid and hot. The rooms though are just the right temperature and you can set it to what you want. The fridge in the room is a great size, There is also a compost container in the bathroom if you want to dispose of organic material in your room. There is a blue bin also for all the other recyclables you main have. I would recommend this hotel for anyone that has some in the Barnaby area or need to be close the SFU. The hotel is also very close to the Sky train so that you can get downtown very easily from here.

    « Great place! »

We had a Queen Suite with a Jacuzzi. The bed was very comfortable, high quality bedding/towels/robes, the room clean and the service excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was cleaned every day to an excellent standard. The pool was really warm and the hot tub was the perfect end to the day. We would happily stay at this hotel again.

    « Not Good »

I had two bicycles stollen from a locked bike rack in the hotel parking area. Lack of security at this hotel. I would have liked to know when I first checked in that the hotel had a storage area for bikes rather than after they were stollen.

    « Light pollution »

I've stayed at this hotel quite a few times and will only do so if I am promised I will not be given a room looking over the indoor pool. These rooms have no natural lighting. What I found to be equally problematic was the light pollution from the pool area that creeps through the curtains; as well as the lights from the microwave, thermastat, clock radio, and smoke detectors is the worst I have ever encountered in a hotel room. The bed was also very uncomfortable and squeeky. All in all it was so unpleasant that if my next experience is anything like the last one I will not stay at this hotel again.

    « Family Friendly »

The 2 bedroom suites are very ideal for families travelling with children. They are FULLY equipped...This is the only room type we ever get so I can't comment on any of the others. Always satisfied...the hotel itself is very clean. staff is always friendly whether it be check in checkout, restaurant, lounge or the ladies taking care of your rooms...or even the liquor store at the front of the property.

    « Great location that's affordable »

Located near a sky train terminal which gives you access to downtown Vancouver within 40 min. The rooms are clean and roomy. The bed are very comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a nice restaurant as a bar& grill on site which serve tasty homemade meals. As a guest you receive a card that gives you 10% off you food purchases.

« Just what we wanted! »

This is a very nice hotel, the staff are friendly and knowlegable, not overly fancy for the rate, but it was during the height of tourist season here. Husband adored the jacuzzi, and the pool was lovely after a long day. We will be back, and to give the restaurant a fair try too! Thanks, Ramada Coquitlam! :)

    « Pleasant! Will return »

This was a last minute booking through We chose it mainly due to price! The bonus was that it was less than 5 minutes from the location of the wedding we were attending the next day. Our room was room 105 and it's on the main floor so we can access it directly from the outside of the hotel which was convenient for us because we have 2 little boys. Parking was free in the lot outside and we didnt have a hard time finding parking close to our room. The room had 2 queen beds and they were comfortable! The washroom was clean and so was the rest of the room. There is a digital thermostat to control the heating & cooling of the room. There was also a fridge. Everything worked well! The lobby was nice and clean. The staff was friendly. We didnt spend much time at the hotel...we got there late (midnight) and checked out the next day. We did get a 10% off coupon to the restaurant in the hotel but we didnt get to use it. There's a Tim Horton's up the street (maybe a 10-15 min walk) it is inside the Esso station. And there is also a McDonald's just past the Esso. We would stay here again if we had the opportunity!

« For the price, excellent room »

The room had a sitting room as well as a bedroom, 2 TV's, couch and chair etc. Room around the queen bed tight, but adequate. Bed hard, alright for me but not my husband. Good shower, nice hot tub and pool. The restaurant onsite was good and they cater to seniors, nice for us. Gave us dessert to go, insisted on it! Good service there too.

    « excellent »

go again no doubt. facicilities all around good quiet room. helpfull at the desk. room well done every day.the transport to down town by the sky train great and secure and easy to understand. Vancouver is a CITY where i will appreciate to go again 3 days whas not enough for me.

    « Pleasant stay »

We had the pleasure of returning to this hotel for a stay while we were attending a wedding. The rooms are very clean and the hotel was quiet and also lots of parking. The staff are very helpful and we would certainly stay again.

    « Great Hotel »

Nice, convenient and clean hotel with Great Staff. Discount card for Restaurant. Stayed there 4 nights with family, Has in-doors pool, great for kids. Only con: lack of elevator, but staff was ready to help with luggage.

    « Beautiful Location »

Warm, friendly staff with a relaxing atmosphere. Room overlooked an inside swimming pool and also had a balcony. Totally enjoyed this experience. The Greek Theme was lovely. Thank you so much for this enjoyable experience.

    « A very good hotel option »

The hotel was well situated, very clean and staff were friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant was tasty, but it took a while to arrive and the service from the waitress was slow even though there were only a few of us in the restaurant at the time. That is my only negative, as the rest of the hotel stay was lovely.

I travel a lot with work and with my kids team sports. We've stayed here a number of times with teams and they get it, and they make sure we have fun. it's got this great courtyard with a pool where you know the kids are safe and the cyan have a lot of freedom, after bedtime the parents can relax without bothering other guests plus the hotel gets that this is what it's all about. sure, they could leave poolside open to at least 10 or 11pm but overall, a good getaway if you're stain out that way

« Room only property is fine.... »

If your looking for a property and not looking for decent food service, this place will do. Tried to get dinner at 730pm-745pm on the first night we were there. Restaurant closed! And looked like it had been for awhile. The lounge server(did a good job and was embarrassed) offered a few things from the menu. The cook for new-ordered steak sandwich which took forever to come and when it did, it was covered with onion to cover the fact that the "cook" had cut it up to ensure it was med-rare-horizontal strips across the steak...never ever seen that in 25 years in the hospitality-resort industry. Needless to say we went out for dinner the next night. Breakfast was ok, tough to ruin breakfast but they tried with indifferent staff. No managers around that I saw in the F & B at all. This F & B area needs either a total over haul of management team so they can enact a training program for the staff. Front desk staff when I complained basically said, it's leased out, not much we can do. Front desk staff upon check in was very nice to get us in prior to check in time. Housekeeping staff we found very friendly as well.

« Friendly staff but outdated facilities »

The staff was very helpful. We were on the second floor and there is no elevator so they assisted us in bringing up all our bags and a cooler. We found the room clean and adequate but the building is outdated. The pool area and main reception are really 3 decades old in decor. The fitness facility was adequate and clean. Overall the location worked well for our family trip.

« Great service, clean rooms. »

Very helpful staff when checking in. The hotel is very clean with nice décor. Check-out was quick and simple. Would definitely stay there again. Food in both restaurants is not great. Eat somewhere else if you can.

« Nothing special for the price »

Was there for the weekend for Father's day and a birthday/retirement party. The fathers day buffet was excellent but the juices were rather watered down. Room was nothing special, outdated looking and the air conditioner did absolutely nothing but make noise and cool the doorway. Only positive was they're pet friendly and have a pool. But for the prices they charge for a room you're really only paying for the central coquitlam location close to the highway.

    « weekend stay »

Over all had a very nice stay for two nights in a junior suite. Location was good for our needs. Nice people , only issue was the slow service at breakfast in the restaurant, which was frustrating. Otherwise good safe location.

« Strangest Room I've ever stayed in »

Hotel is quite dated and could use some updating, but staff are great & rooms are clean like every other best Western. Ended up in the Southern Carriage Theme room due to availability & it was definitely the strangest room I've ever stayed in. If you're ever asked if you want to stay in it, just say no. Lots of parking, and garden area / pool looks really nice. Would be a good place to stay with a family.

    « Best in town »

I chose this hotel when visiting family in Coquitlam as it was the top rated hotel on Trip Advisor. Our family of 4 with young kids stayed for five nights and we were not disappointed. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. We tried both restaurants and preferred the Pantry, it had more attentive service and reasonable prices. The fitness center, pool, hot tub, and sauna were all great. The property is a little dated but everything is very clean and well-maintained. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I echo another reviewer's comment that you should ask for a room that opens onto the pool. These rooms have little balconies and the pool area is beautiful and peaceful. I had a parking lot view and they changed my room the moment I asked. One drawback: there is no elevator. The front desk immediately offered to help with the bags but I decided to just make a few trips. I tried to add a 6th day to my stay but they were full, but did allow me a late checkout. Overall just really great service and a clean, comfortable stay.

    « Very clean »

clean rooms, great, friendly staff. Liquor store in the same parking lot as hotel, check in first so you can get a 10% discount coupon for the liquor store. The Pantry attached to the hotel, very convenient. Great location within walking distance to skytrain, shopping malls and other restaurants.

« Business trip! nice place! »

When i am on business trip to Vancouver, i stay in this hotel for usually 3-4 weeks. located in very close proximity to metro station and shopping place. Very nice and friendly staff! Two bed room suites are really nice!

« Not going back to this hotel »

I have never experienced a hotel staff asking their guest to fix their own problem with a hotel amenity--in my case, a clogged toilet. I was asked to fix the toilet problem that we had in our guest room--the staff actually handed me a plunger and asked to fix it myself. It was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful. After I refused, he reluctantly fixed the toilet himself and used guest's bath towel to wipe the mess. It was such a memorable experience in a bad way.

« Good hotel location for area »

We have stayed here several times visiting family in BC. Each time has been very good, all in all 4 different room locations and no problems. Clean rooms, have never noticed any unacceptable noise. Plenty of parking. Good bar but a little short on beer choices. The restaurant (Rockwells) is open for dinner and this is where I have a negative comment. The food is hit and miss. I've had excellent food on occasion and terrible food - the latest was a prawn and crab linguine which came out as a congealed mess of angel hair pasta with a minuscule amount of crab. The staff here are vey pleasant. For breakfast there is an attached restaurant (The Pantry) and guests staying at the hotel get a 10% discount on food. The breakfast menu is comprehensive and in our experience the food has always been good and reasonably priced.

« Great team hotel, terrible restaurant »

Always love coming here with our sports teams when we travel. Nice hotel rooms. They are overly strict on the pool hours and have dumped chemicals in while kids were still in pool as a way to force them out. The pub/restaurant in the hotel (not one attached -haven't tried it) has terrible food. I had ordered the taco salad and it came with vinegar dumped on it as dressing. Friends ordered chicken and it was under cooked. Won't eat there again but will certainly sleep there again! We've already been there on at least 6 different occasions.

« Clean. Nice pool. Great diner. »

Stayed here one night for $130. Kind of pricey given the area. Isn't exactly Vancouver city, you know. Pool was nice though. It was in the middle of the hotel with balconies that looked over and had a garden feel and look. The room was clean but a/c wasn't working properly. Wasn't that it didn't blow cold air, just didn't turn off right away. The room attendants let us stay an extra 2 hours after initial checkout without disturbing is which I thought was nice. The attached restaurant was great with great service. We got a 15% discount because we stayed. Also received a $10 discount card for their liquor store, which we left for someone else. A great stay with friends.

« high end, clean with value »

This hotel had the simple things well done, a good coffee maker in room, a kettle for tea, ceramic cups, glasses, the small things which make a difference; the pool, hot tub were clean and very well kept. A breakfast restaurant has good value for money, al though the high end lounge food quality was less than expected. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

« Visiting and sightseeing Vancouver, BC »

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very nice, and opened up to the pool area. Everything is very clean, well cared for. The lobby has many areas for lounging, reading or visiting with friends. Rockwells Grill and Bar is located in the hotel and there is a restaurant, The Pantry, the is attached to the hotel also. We were pleased with our stay and would stay there again.

    « Best Western »

I don't like repeating myself. Don't you listen? You people obviously ignore this franchise location. I mean really,no elevator? Lots of parking Liquor store very close Lots of restaurants within walking distance Staff was not to be blamed for inadequate short comings of hotel. This is a Best Western problem at this location.

« Great staff and facility »

Great hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and very quiet since the hotel was away from the main road. I had a very relaxing stay and was able to work. I would recommend this hotel

« The pictures were nicer then the hotel really was »

I stayed here on a work trip In march. The reviews were good and pictures seemed nice. But it was just ok. It's in need of a massive update. Everything is stuck in 80s/90s. The rooms were clean enough but seemed dingy cause of the crazy old curtains and furniture. There was no store aND no snack vending machines around so I had to go for a walk in the dark to try to find something. Also the breakfast restaurant was so dark abs had a real musty smell so I wouldn't recommend it. The hotel was OK but I wouldn't stay there again.

    « awesome. »

everything was perfect. not only pool and spa but also room, service were awesome. if you wanna find a quiet hotel for just relaxing, this is the exact right one. i had never left any hotel comments, but i'd like to strongly recommend here. i booked the cheapest room, but it was beyond my expectation. room was bigger than i thought, amenities were well organized. there were everything in my room that i needed including wine glasses. the housekeepr was considerable. she left an extra coffee for me. maybe she found that i had all the coffee during the first night. Super quiet, peaceful, clean.

    « Need some renovations »

Our 2 bedroom suite was detached from the main hotel where the pool was..had to walk out of the hotel and a bit cold for the kids...a little bit pricey too. No breakfast included. But the staff were very nice and helpful.

« Best place to stay for easy access to freeway and great value, food and amenities »

I required a central location to conduct some business and meet up with family and friends. This Best Western was selected without knowing a lot about it or it's location and I did select a super choice! Staff is very helpful, rooms are quiet and clean -first class and food and bar service is excellent. The pool and fitness center is the best that can be and overall rest, parking and security were as good as you can get anywhere. i will be back!

    « Awesome little hotel »

I LOVE this place, so friendly, and yet so professional. Very nice rooms, clean, the pool area is really cool, and I always ask for a room that surrounds the pool because I love the tropical look out the front and the fact that I can drive up and enter through a back door as well, like a motel. Great restaurant too, just a really awesome place to stay if you want to feel like you are appreciated.

« Wonderful hotel and staff »

This hotel itself was extremely nice but the most impressive part of our stay was the people. Originally there for two nights but for medical reasons had to stay longer. Everyone ...front desk staff, housekeeping, restaurant....were extremely helpful and accommodating...and very, very friendly. Would recommend this hotel to all travelers.

    « BC Beauty »

one of the better Best Westerns. very nicely done. loved the tub. the courtyard was beautiful. sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine was very relaxing. great pool, rules have it quiet by 9pm which was nice. on sunday we enjoyed the brunch with friends and family wonderful selection of food. even if you dont stay at this hotel but are in the area the brunch is something you should try it was fantastic and reasonably priced.

    « great stay »

spent a one night at this location with family. we had the room with a balcony facing the pool. kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub. bed was really comfortable. room was clean and quiet. the hotel was in an area with lots of restaurants to choose from. walking distance from public transportation and a mall.

« Good access, friendly and comfortable »

This hotel is great because it has a restaurant on premises, 10% off with your stay, has pool and hot tub. Rooms are clean, neat and it provides reasonable value for price. Restaurant staff was extremely pleasant.

    « One night stay »

My daughter had staid here before I did and I did not know what to expect. WOW!! I was really impressed! Very pretty hotel inside and out! It would be a good place for a wedding reception! We had a room with a balcony facing the pool. No noise issue but there was hardly anyone staying there and it was a Friday night. The room was a good size, beds comfortable and two bathroom sinks (on inside the bathroom and the other out). For us women I was really impress with, they had the magnifying glass with lights outside the bathroom. What great extra touch! Never seen on of those before. My only complaint was it was warm and obviously it was because of the pool. I would stay here in a heartbeat again ....even make an excuse to stay here!!

    « Nice Hotel »

I have stayed here many times, excellent hotel. Very nice rooms and clean. Having a restaurant/lounge and liquor store all in the same place is so convenient. The location to Skytrain is an added bonus Only problem was poor wi-fi and toilet didn't flush very well.

    « Quiet Place »

We stayed here for one night at the end of April. The hotel is very nicely done with rooms around a central pool area. Our room had two access doors, one to the pool area and one to outdoor parking. The room was quiet, clean and well equipped. The king sized bed was very comfortable.

« Great place to stay »

Recently stayed at the Best Western Coquitlam and had a great experience. It was a very family friendly hotel with great service. The pool area was very clean and the kids had loads of fun. The room was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

« Group Cycle Trip Stay in Lower Mainland »

Recommended by friends who stay for business, our cycle group spent Easter Long Weekend here to facilitate day trips in PoCo, White Rock, and Port Moody. The hotel was clean, well equipped (esp suites) and staff were excellent in accommodating extras like bike storage and potluck dinners.

    « Great weekend away »

My partner and I wanted a quiet weekend away and this hotel delivered everything we wanted. Even though full booked with a convention, the place was quiet and the staff full attentive to our few requests. Front desk staff were efficient and friendly , and the room was just as advertised. We had a few drinks in the lounge which was great service, and enjoyed our stay.

« Nice Hotel but not for a business traveler »

This is a nice hotel with some nice amenities (pool, gym , restaurant, and near restaurants), however as a business traveler the internet was no where near acceptable. It would constantly drop or be unavailable.

    « Convenience »

If you're planning to stay in the Coquitlam area, this hotel is definitely the one to consider. It's central for the area and has all the amenities one needs, restaurants, lounge, fitness center and swimming pool. Room are very comfortable and spacious. Staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful

« Great pool and hot tub »

While the location was a bit far from our favourite shopping (Metrotown), we stayed here for the second time. We love the indoor pool and surrounding garden. It is great when the Vancouver rain hits as it always feels warm and tropical. The service at this hotel is great. We found the rooms spacious and clean. The beds are really comfortable and we were given extra towels and pillows. Quality stay.

    « spring break getaway »

took the kids to this hotel for a spring break staycation. enjoyed the pool and hot tub, asked for a late check out and were given until 12 noon which was fine except that the hot tub was closed until 1pm that day for cleaning and we weren't able to use it. All in all it was an enjoyable getaway.

    « very comfortable »

very nice property. Beautiful indoor court yard and great lounge. Very nicely appointed rooms and great front desk staff Typical chain restaurant. Lots of updates and good parking. Average fitness area. Beautiful indoor pool with lots of plants.

« Great place to stay with kids »

The hotel was very clean and tidy. Also the layout is nice. Lots of amenities close by and the staff were great. The windows don't open for fresh air and the air conditioning did not work so it was very warm and stuffy in the room. Other than that the stay was great.

« outdated and shabby. not very safe »

when I booked this hotel i didn't realize so many rooms had outdoor access like a motel. and ground floor rooms faced outside. Not exactly safest for travelling alone. The pool is central to the hotel and many rooms face it-- noisy walkways in front of rooms (tile floors are noisy when people walk past) so I think it would be hard to get a decent room location at this hotel. The hotel is very old and noise from the room above is very distinct and loud. you can clearly hear people walking above and showers in nearby rooms. Noise starts early with the business travellers so don't expect to sleep in at all. hotel is very very outdated. Breakfast restaurant attached has TERRIBLE food. go elsewhere for breakfast. I will not stay here again.

    « JDUB From Escondido »

First trip to Vancouver. So, got lucky deciding on a place to stay. Staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Gave us directions, suggestions, and umbrellas (very important during our stay). Facility has easy freeway and thru street access and was clean, quite, comfortable. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to visit our granddaughter.

« The right location to meet our needs »

We choose this hotel for its location. It was a little more expensive than other Best Westerns in the area, but the location worked for us and the hotel was a good quality. We did also choose it because it had an onsite bar and grill and on this trip we dint want to have to go out looking for food. My husband is a bit of a beer connoisseur and enjoys a good draft beer. It was disappointing that the choice was a light beer, a larger and a winter ale( very acquired taste). We ended up going out anyway which was disappointing. We ate breakfast in the Pantry which was very nice. Free parking, good sized, clean rooms and free wifi which worked well. Pleasant and professional staff. Overall a good stay.

« Nice hotel, restaurants aren't the best »

Nice rooms, I especially like the t overlooks the interior garden. Friendly staff, beds were comfortable. Food at the 2 restaurants were overpriced, not the highest quality, and staff were abrupt. I would recommend to most people, would probably use it again.

« Great Location, Great Staff, Aging Facilities »

We stayed here on four occasions in 2015. Twice in January and twice in September. My wife and I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are quite comfortable but are in need of some updating. The manager had told me that the Wi-Fi and cable were being updated. The reception staff and the cleaning ladies were outstanding and extremely helpful. The hot water can be very hot and I advise caution when showering. This is better than not having hot water. There are two restaurant's within the hotel (10% discount card provided when you check in. Liquor store on the corner of the lot and just a short walk to the Sky Train. I apologize for not advising on this Best Western earlier, but this is a great location if you are staying in the Port Coquitlam area of Vancouver.

« Excellent home away from home »

We are moving from another province and had to stay in a hotel while we waited for our home to be ready. This meant we stayed two weeks at the beginning and the last five days of January. That's a long time in a hotel! The staff have been exceptional. The hotel is spotlessly clean, modern decor and very comfortable. The front desk staff (especially Darrel) made our stay here much more comfortable with the extra help and consideration. They stored our bags between trips, gave advice on where to shop and walk our dog etc. There's a laundry mat a five minute drive away. The housekeeping staff (Baldev) kept our room exceptional clean and was very friendly and she went the extra mile. We really appreciated it! We've travelled a lot and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. It's a great location, conveniently located by many stores, the Lougheed centre mall is only a 15 minute walk away which has Safeway etc. We didn't use the hot tub but walked by it and it was sparkling clean. There are two restaurants in the hotel, we ate in one for breakfast and lunch, the staff were friendly and we ate at the other (slightly upscale from the first) for dinner and it was also very good.

« great place to stay »

The Hotel staff were amazing. Very courteous and friendly staff. The location is great for shopping and accessible to Downtown Vancouver as well. We have stayed in many Best Westerns this one surpassed what we expected. The cleanliness of this hotel was superb and that is the number one thing we always look for. It would be a great hotel for my business travel as well as personal travel.

    « Great Coquitlam Hotel »

I recently stayed at this Best Western and had a really great experience. It was like a home away from home! They have the friendliest staff, each member making sure my experience was perfect. The rooms were very clean and VERY comfortable. Loved the indoor pool as no matter where I go, I try to stay somewhere that I can enjoy a swim. The common areas were also very clean and the atrium area very nice. Best Westerns have come a long way and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a stay in the Coquitlam area.

    « family hotel »

we have stayed on more than one occasion and love the friendly staff, the cleanliness...we stay in the suite with a kitchen and two bedrooms, it is perfect for what we were looking for, and we will be back! there are restaurants attached, and shopping and sky train nearby.

« The Best of Best Western »

For several years I have travelled to the Coquitlam area to visit my aged mother. This hotel offered a safe, pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Due to this association I have visited and stayed in many Best Western hotels. The Coquitlam Inn and Convention Center surpasses all others. This most recent visit was to attend my mother 's memorial service. Once again the concern and care of the staff was touching. Everyone I met offered condolences and when I arrived at my room there was a lovely bouquet of flowers with a card. I was overwhelmed. Thank you Coquitlam Inn you are the epitome of whatT all Best Western hotels should be.

« Awesome spot to get the hockey games! »

Sky train stop is a 5 min walk. Excellent property w/ cool jungle type theme in the pool area. Lots of food nearby, all within short walks or even more if you want to drive. This property is a top quality best western.

« Good location and many eateries around »

I would say that the hotel location is really central. Skytrain nearby, supermarket right next to and opposite the hotel, liquor store on site, Chinese and Korean restaurants across the street, the Wing, Catus Club and Joey?s near by, Hard Rock Casino is about 8mins away. For Coquitlam, I think it is the best!

    « Beautiful »

This hotel is so gorgeous. The pool area is fantastic, the staff are helpful and kind and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Everything is so impeccable and fancy. I was surprised how cheap it was to stay! I had an amazing time at this hotel. Definitely staying there again.

« Average hotel, great staff!! »

Stayed here for five days. My room was clean but had a musty/mouldy smell. Hotel staff was great very friendly and helpful if needed. The pantry food was good, decent for the pricing only downfall was they closed at 7! Rockwells was very pricey a little to pricey for family dining. Pool was a hit with my kids, a little cold but still fun! I would stay here again!!!

« Great place to host a party, lousy place to sleep! »

We celebrated a large family birthday party at the hotel recently. The service/food/ambience was fabulous. Spending the night was a different story... humid air, loud guests in the hallways, uncomfortable beds.

    « Bad nights sleep. »

Hotel looks OK from the outside. Strangest 1980's Jungle rainforest inside. My room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel had a motel style back door (as well as a normal door off the jungle corridor) that was very drafty. Walls sound like they are paper thin because you can hear everything that's going on outside. The air conditioning unit/heater sounded like it was powered by a Rolls Royce jet engine. Every time it kicked in it woke me up. Couldn't turn it off as the control on the wall was missing/broken. TV in the room had its own cable TV box that was good but the display burned brighter than the sun in the dark room. Due to its location the room had no natural light during the day. Just a window at the front that faced a dim corridor. The bathroom was small and poorly laid out. Restaurant food was OK. No too expensive. Poor selection of beers in the bar. When I asked for a "local beer" the local option was Molson Canadian.

    « False advertisement »

    1. Advertised as offering free breakfast, when we got to the hotel the staffs said that they had never had a restaurant that offered breakfast. False advertisement! 2. We arrived late at night, around 9pm and they had issue with their credit card verification system. So even though I had already paid for my room, the manager refused to check me in and left me and my family waiting for another hour! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

    « Cold! »

Spent New Years Eve in Vancouver for a get away for my husband and I. Upgrades to the Roman Suite, at $170.00 a night . It was so cold we couldn't even use the jacuzzi! The room came with a space heater ....really! Not impressed!

    « Value and convenience »

Easy access and parking with shops and Skytrain access nearby and . Room was very comfortable as was the bed. Seating on the balcony in the tropical setting adding to the pleasure of the experience. Real value for the money.

« Good hotel poor restaurant »

2 week stay on a resent business trip in the area. Room was a good size and nicely laid out. House keeping did an excellent job every day. Ample parking. Nice gym if a little small and a pool in a central area. Staff at the front desk were always very friendly and helpful. Used the pantry diner for breakfast one morning and the food was ok and again the staff very friendly. However the the staff and quality of food in the main restaurant are not good. Poor quality food along with poorly trained and rude staff members is not what makes a successful hotel. I would stay at the hotel again if I was in the area but I'd avoid the bar and restaurant at all cost.

    « Welcoming Accomidations »

I was in town on Business for 4 days. The rooms are extremely clean and updated, the staff are a pleasure to talk too and very helpful. Loved being able to relax in the pool and hot tub after a day of work which was very clean. Had Breakfast and Dinner at the Pantry and the food was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel for any occasion.

« Love the pond and the tropical feel »

Our room was wonderfully warm, which was nice for when we got in. They left us the playpen for our child and thankfully I have worked in a hotel before because these ones aren't the easiest to set up. We ordered food and it was excellent. They also had a Province newspaper delivered to every room bright and early, which I thought was excellent. Overall, a very good stay.

« One off the best hotels I stay at. »

We are fully amazed at the cleanliness, how friendly the staff were and who went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. We had a room with balcony overlooking pool which made you think of the Islands. Beautiful gardens and very clean and well maintained pool Very close to Shopping, Sky Train and buses. I would definitely recommend this hotel for people on business, to families and anyone who wants to have a lovely break. We have no Complaints.

    « My Birthday Celebratiion »

I really enjoyed my stay, very relaxing. I loved the pool area with the flowing water and plants and the hot tub. Our room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff and the room service was excellent.

« Excellent Staff, Great Stay »

I spent 2 nights at this hotel while in town for an event. The hotel is clean, and quiet when other patrons respect that they aren't the only ones staying there. It is centrally located with an indoor hot tub and pool. I had a king bed room with a Jacuzzi tub located next to the bed. I arrived in town earlier than I had intended and the hotel allowed me to check in early. All in all, the staff are courteous and helpful and the hotel is lovely.

« very happy with all amenities »

love the pool deck, great for kids, food at Rockwell's was fantastic, the room size was perfect for a family of four, good accessible parking close to our room and an easy walk to sky train which allowed us to trip around with out having to deal with the horrible Vancouver traffic!

    « Pleasant long stay »

I stayed for several weeks while working in Coquitlam. The hotel has nice big rooms since it is a little older, I would recommend a room on the second floor because I spent one night on the first floor and it felt like their were elephants in the room above. They don't have an elevator but if you have heavy stuff they the staff offered to carry things up. I used the gym and the cardio equipment was adequate. I didn't have a view, my sliding doors opened onto a balcony that overlooked the indoor courtyard where the pool is but I was close to one end so I basically overlooked the bar, which wasn't an issue, the room was large and comfortable so I had no complaints. I don't think any of the rooms in the two story complex would have much of a view but the hotel makes up for that with it's cozy smaller feel. The staff were all very professional and they moved me immediately when I complained about the noise. The Rockwell's restaurant was busy for Sunday brunch but was empty most evenings, it looks like a nice place, not sure why nobody goes there. There was an awesome restaurant, Joey's Coquitlam that you could walk to by heading up the hill just behind the hotel, there is a foot path through the forest. I ate there several times and every dish I tried was great. The hotel has a nice pool and hot tub, they were refinishing the pool deck the last week I was there so that should be nice and new now. I noticed workers around doing this and that so I think they are working hard to keep the hotel looking nice. The room cleaning was excellent. There was a fridge and microwave in my last room but not all rooms have microwaves. They have in room coffee makes with Seattle's Best Coffee and Tazo tea. There is a snack tray with bags of gourmet treats that you can eat and they will be charged to your room. Some rooms have the second sink outside the bathroom but others don't, so ask if you want one. The hotel has older bathroom fans so they are a little noisy and not as efficient as newer but not really an issue. The only challenge I had was that the wifi was slow at times, not sure what they can do about that. Overall, it was a good experience and I would stay there again. The location is awesome, lots of food places, highway 1 is right there, Lougheed Mall is close, Ikea is 5 minutes by car, you can walk to the Lougheed Skytrain station in less than 10 minutes. I don't smoke, but if you do, they have rooms that open right onto the parking lot so you could easily go in and out to smoke.

    « Corporate Christmas Party for 5 years . . . »

This hotel ALWAYS treat you Right! Corporate party is usually 150 to 175 people and they handle the bar & food perfectly . . . Also provide very nice rooms, at a discounted rate, for as many as want to stay over. . . Looking forward to this year's party!

    « 2 nights for work - quite nice »

Best Western 29 ? 30 October 2015 An 1980's vibe with the indoor courtyard and pool/hot tub. Room 105 (first room in the hallway, facing in to the courtyard) The room is nicely updated though there are also areas of wear (some of the painted areas, the wallpaper in the bathroom and the cracks in the formed tub which appear when the tub is filled ? see photos). The bathroom had two areas. A sink for makeup and the full bathroom - tub, toilet and sink. Both vanities were a nice black stone. New toilet and floor tiles. The furniture is nice and new, the beds and pillows comfortable. Double bedside lamps. There was a safe in the closet, a fair number of hangers and an ironing board and iron. There was a fridge, 4 glass glasses and coffee. Comfortable task chair and desk. Friendly staff at the reception as well as the chambermaids. The restaurant staff (we ate at both The Pantry and Rockwell's) were friendly and the food good. The room above 105 had a creaky floor and though I could hear it, it wasn't terrible. I would stay here again.

    « Very Impressed! »

My husband, and I were very impressed by the atmosphere, and friendly attitude of this hotel. The check-in was flawless, and quick. We were surprised by a free upgrade (Special Thanks to Daryl-Front desk)to a THEME room, ours was Civil/Westren era. It was a room we had really wanted as we had viewed this room online, but upon booking we chose a King room as our funds have been limited lately due to family crisis. We were over joyed, and walked to our room through a beautiful lobby, and sitting areas fire side, as well as the amazing tropical gardens surrounding the pool, and hot tub area. This area is covered in wall to wall unfinished cedar making it all the more cozy, inviting, and peaceful. You would never know that you were in the city, as you cannot see that, yet you are so close to everything one would need. A sauna, and fitness room are also available. Our room was amazing, a horse drawn carriage for a bed with a mirrored canopy, a interior patio that views the pool area with a sliding glass door with privacy curtains facing the gardens. The decor is just right for that type of era. A jetted tub with mirrored wall, a full bathroom with glass double headed copper showerhead, two sinks, fresh, and invigorating toiletries. A flat screen t.v., i-pod docking station, loveseat, club chair, coffee maker, coffee mugs, refrigerator/freezer, wine glasses, and deal with stationary. We shall definitely return again, as this is a nice go between our Mexico trips. It is children friendly as well, and will be visited as well with our children a family stay for fun. This hotel fit our description as comfortable, friendly, exceptional clean, and above expectations.

« Excellent staff, great stay »

Excellent hotel, great staff, comfortable room. I liked having the separate toilet area with sink and then another sink area. Perfect for families. Great breakfast at the restaurant. Convenient to Simon Fraser University

« License Plates stolen in the parking lot »

We stayed at this hotel for several nights this summer. We were leaving one afternoon to go to a party when we noticed that our license plate was stolen. we went in to the front desk and they were really helpful connecting us to the police. While we were there another man came in and his car windows were broken and the car vandalized. He had heard that the night before there had been a car prowling on another guests car. The next day I spoke to the front desk and asked for the managers contact information. The front desk was unaware that any of these incidents had gone on. I feel that the hotel staff should give some consideration to the impact on their visitors and tell each staff shift about these incidents. I contacted the Manager about my concerns and he did not reply at all. The incident cost me funds as I had to purchase an intrasit license plate and car insurance as I was from out of province. I was very disappointed.

« Good location in Coquitlam, BC »

This Hotel is located close to the Hard Rock Casino where we had tickets for a concert in their Theatre. The Hotel was clean, quiet and offered a swimming pool. The pool itself is a good size and a nice hot tub available also! There is a coffee pot in the hotel room but no free breakfast included. The beds were comfortable, our room had double beds which were a little smaller than I'm used to. There are no elevators in this Hotel so due to my disability I booked a lower floor and it was great! Plenty parking available for guests and close to your room entrance.

    « Awesome Hotel »

We stayed for 2 nights and booked by an incredible theme room! The room was amazing, clean, comfortable and steps from the pool/hot tub. This hotel is in a great location. We will definitely stay here next time we go to Vancouver and area.

    « spacious suites available »

decent location not too far from public transit and metroplex mall. nice sized suites with 2 bedrooms and kitchen. came in very handy. the only negative was breakfast was not included. there is also a liquor store within walking distance.

« Would definitely stay again!! »

We can down for a quick overnight trip!! The hotel was great and let us check in a couple of hours early!! The hotel was clean as well as the rooms. We booked through Hotwire and got a good deal for the type of room. We were overlooking the atrium with a balcony. A must do for this hotel!! Kids had fun swimming and tubbing. We found the whole experience to be relaxing and quiet!! An overall very pleasant experience. A couple of bonuses were having a couple of restaurants and a beer and wine store right on site!! Close to lougheed mall!! I would definitely recommend it!! Great stay!!

    « Wedding done well »

Our son's wedding was held here in September. Everything was top notch, Planning to execution was great. Lots of compliments from our guests. The suites we stayed in were large and accomodated a number of friends for an evening get together. A great experience!
