Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn

We have stayed at the Chemainus Inn about three other times when we have been attending the Chemainus Theatre & have found the service & facility the best hotel experience we have ever had. I have found through the years that I have a far better result from booking any hotel by phoning directly & actually talking to a live person rather than trying to find a "deal" through all the online booking sites. We were offered a discount for attending the local theatre & for having a BW rewards card. I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary & were blown away that when we arrived we had been upgraded to a room with a balcony & we had a lovely bottle of wine in the room. This hotel is kept extremely clean & well-appointed & the staff (including the housekeeping staff) are friendly & pleasant. Can;t wait to have a reason to go back!

Extremely helpful, friendly staff. Excellent room service. Good exercise room and pool/hot tub. Excellent breakfasts. Front window of room overlooks golf course. Located in beautiful Chemainus, British Columbia.

When you book here, there is nothing to fear. They treat you like you are their family. There is nothing left to chance, use the pool. coffee on 24 hours in lobby, breakfast excellent, and its part of room price.

We have stayed here many times as there isn't a lot of choice in Chemainus. That's why it's a good thing that this Best Western is outstanding. The suites are immaculately clean and the cleaning staff couldn't be more responsive and helpful. The breakfast selection is huge and the coffee is on all day. The front desk sometimes has fresh-baked cookies. Newspapers are free. The pool area and exercise room are kept in great shape and are well used. Dogs are welcome and amenities for them are at the front door. This is a great place!

Like staying at BW and this one is the Best one I've stayed at ....and I travel about 100 days a year,. Friendly staff, great service breakfast was done really well in a very nice dining area. Hard hotel to beat!

Fantastic, clean, fun facility. The staff treat you like family! Friendly, helpful, warm, accomodating and on the ball. The hot breakfast is great - fresh, wide variety, very tasty. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub - both the kids and adults. I honestly won't stay anywhere else.

I've stayed at this hotel many many times and always enjoy my stay. The rooms are immaculately clean and well decorated. The hotel grounds and interior are well maintained and spotless. The front desk and cleaning staff are all very friendly and professional. They are quick to offer help and information. They serve a fantastic complimentary breakfast that is by far the best i've ever encountered with lots of hot offering and options! The hotel is always busy and everyone seems happy with their stay! Plus it's located in a great small town which is charming and fun to visit.

The cleanliness at this hotel is 100% getting a 10/10! The breakfast was great, hot, always full and someone there ensuring satisfaction. The overall hallways, room and amenities upkeep was impressive. Nothing was falling apart, broken, missing or repaired cheaply. This was a great hotel to stay at. I highly recommend it and would stay here again for any upcoming travel!!

Nice hotel - friendly staff - nice pool/hot-tub - decent rooms. Breakfast is included, though cooked in a microwave - it's included. I don't have much more to say but the machine wants me to write at least 200 words so I'll have to come up with something else to say about that and this.

Stayed here for one night after attending the theatre and not wanting to drive over the Malahat in the dark. We were impressed even before arriving as the communication was so good re: our reservation. The building itself is very nice and our room was very comfortable. We wished we were staying longer to make use of all the amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good- the dining area well looked after and the staff efficient. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will hopefully have a chance to stay there again.

Room was clean and tidy. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast food was great. Everything a person would need was there. There was sufficient parking. We would definitely recomment this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Chemainus.

Booking on line is a snap, no problems , extremely trust worthy. The staff were very helpful, very engaging, and rooms SUPER CLEAN ! The morning breakfast was to die for. My wife ate three (yes 3) Blue berry muffins !!! Yummy, real food. Quiet rooms and great beds, if available I would have taken them home !!!!! The building is super quiet, when we booked only 3 rooms left, full house, not a peep. We will be repeaters for sure !

This hotel allows people to buy memberships to use their pool. I have used it for many years. I have seen lots of people use it for rehab and therapy for people with disabilities including autism. It is nice that locals can use it vs travelling out of town. In smaller community's people have a higher sense of entitlement and the hotel does a great job of accepting challenges and patiently providing customer service to everyone. It is nice to see kids and people of all ages enjoy this facility.

This is our 4th stay at the Chemainus Inn and once again it was an outstanding experience. We were there with friends to attend the theatre. Our suite was spacious, spotless and very well appointed. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was above average. This is probably our favourite Best Western Hotel anywhere.

Every time we travel to Chemainus, we stay at the Best Western. Staff are warm and inviting when you arrive. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Beds are comfortable with cosy quilts. We even had a little Christmas tree in our room. The breakfast is as good as any restaurant. Food is fresh and hot. The staff even came around with a wonderful fresh baked square. The property is well maintained...no dirt and grime here. I always look forward to a good night rest and a great breakfast. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Chemainus.

Rooms, beds, amenities, staff......all top notch. Just as good if not better than many of the supposedly higher end motels (such as embassy suites). Very reasonable rates. Awesome area. Can't go wrong here!!

Excellent staff. Did more than was expected. Worked great as a team. Breakfast room was kept clean even though it was busy. Front desk staff were helpful and knew what they were doing. Made our stay enjoyable

If you are ever going to be in this area , whether looking around town at the fabulous murals or going to the dinner theatre this hotel is the place to stay. Very convenient to the town and a very new feelto the hotel. The staff were all great and a free buffet breakfast had everything to get a person going in the morning.

The theatre package is well worthwhile. It takes 10 minutes to walk to Theatre eliminating the need to find parking. The buffet breakfast was well prepared and plenty of selection. Would prefer more separate tables but appreciate that more room would be required. Will stay here again.

The room was beautiful and well-appointed. The bed was in an alcove that could be closed off with sliding pocket doors. The living room area was sizeable with a sofa and upholstered chair. There were two desks in the room (a TV over each) and two office chairs. I love a hotel room with plenty of places to sit! The little kitchen was stocked nicely. There were two water bottles for us in the room. The breakfast was probably the best free hotel breakfast we've ever had - and that's saying a lot. It was hot and delicious, with lots of variety. Very well done. We appreciated the young man at the front desk who was very helpful and enthusiastic. It appeared he had some textbooks on hospitality to peruse in his downtime. He's apparently learning it well. We'd stay here again in a minute.

Beautiful room, great staff, lovely location. Every aspect of our visit was good. Will recommend to anyone. Chemainus is a picturesque town with great restaurants and kind people... look forward to coming back.

We booked two rooms to accommodate four guests. We had a suite with separate bedroom and lounge, our fellow travellers had a room with two queen beds. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed; however, the guests in the room with the two beds complained to us the heater was noisy and smelled. We think the smell was due to dust burning off the heat elements and did not complain to hotel staff. We had no problem with our suite.

We only had a one night stay here but it was really great! Wish we could have stayed a second night. Very clean, great pool and hot tub. Expected breakfast to be chaotic but it was good, well laid out, well organized. Staff constantly re- stocking things and cleaning up the various stations. Had everything you could want, eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, oatmeal , yogurt, etc . Staff was great. Check in and out was seamless. Suite was spacious, updated and well stocked. Parking was free and plentiful. Only one small complaint and that was the elevator. There only seemed to be one and it was used by both guests and housekeepers. Made for crowded rides and slow to arrive . Otherwise, loved this place. Highly recommend!

Friendly helpful staff checking in, my queen suite was very spacious and clean. Had a small kitchen, big living area to watching tv. The weight room was very accommodating and had everything you need to work out ???. The pool is also big a spacious. They offer a full complementary breakfast...yes a full breakfast bacon, hash browns, waffles etc. Overall I have no complaints except for the leftover shavings in the bathroom sink. But other than that it was a great stay.

The hotel was clean - the room very comfortable. Didn't get to experience the swimming pool as it had just closed for maintenance when we arrived, which is what I was so needing that day!! The breakfast room is quite roomy, the food was good, and the price was great. Worth staying here if touring in the area. A good home base.

The place was quiet and clean....but it was really expensive for what you get. And they certainly should ensure that they have decent beds. The breakfast, which they rave about, was really nothing spectacular. Although the scrambled egg dish with green onion and cheese was nice. When we complained about the beds they gave us $7 off. Not much for a miserable night's sleep.

Loved this place! FULL BREAKFAST and full amenities. Super fun and clean. Great sleeps! We loved the pool, hot tub, and exercise room. The water was perfect temperature, and was not super chlorinated. What a relief! Loved everything.

Just one night here before heading to the airport to go home at the end of a week on Vancouver Island. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and well equipped, including a kitchenette. There's an excellent pool/hot tub. And the breakfast was on the good side of the buffet-type ones, with waffles, yogurt parfait maker & selection of hot eggs/meats, as well as coffee flavouring syrups. An excellent start to a long day travelling. And they managed to check us in at noon!

Very pleased with the stay at the hotel Very good breakfast, clean rooms and a nice pool! We were able to check in early which was great since we have a small child...would stay again if we are in the area.

This is one of the main hotels in Chemainus to stay in and it does NOT disappoint! I have never stayed at a Best Western before and I can honestly say that I would stay again and recommend this to anyone!

We've stayed here a couple times in the past year for two nights each time. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is wonderful and the pool is great too! We recently stayed at the Microtel in Oyster Bay and found out how much we missed the BW in Chemainus. Needless to say, we'll happily be coming back to the BW. It's quaint, cozy, good for families and kids but we've always noticed all types of people here. Young to old and all seem to have a lovely time.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and have enjoyed each one very much! The rooms are clean, large and comfortable. I have difficulty with pain in my hips but NEVER when I stay at this Best Western and honestly I can NOT say enough about how great the breakfasts are!! The servers in the breakfast room are friendly and helpful too. The airconditioning in the room was quiet and efficient. We will be back, thanks for the Great stay!

Stay here for a wedding in august 2018. Most of the immediate family stayed here as well. overall good hotel, spacious rooms enough for a family of 4. Daily breakfast included in the price. Would definitely stay again.

We always stay at this hotel, even if it is out of our way. It is clean, affordable and the free breakfast is amazing. The staff are always friendly. We have a service dog, and they always provide a blanket with a food bowl. Those little things go a long way. The pool area is clean and inviting. Best place to stay in the Nanaimo area.

Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly staff. A large group of us were here for a family wedding and the rooms were large and accommodating for visiting & hanging out. We booked a king suite and found the room clean, bright and airy. The king size bed was extremely uncomfortable, as it needed to be replaced. Once you laid down on the bed you rolled to the middle of the bed, making it uncomfortable for 2 people to sleep in it. I ended up sleeping on the pull out couch and my husband had a great sleep. I did not sleep well either night.

We were lucky enough to get an upgrade into a lovely semi one bedroom unit on the front side of the building. Beautifully quiet despite several families with young kids. And a lovely breakfast with real knives, forks and plates...a welcome touch. I asked how old the building was thinking a couple of years...turns out it has been there for 13 years which surely shows how well management takes care of things.

We travel to Chemainus for Chemainus Theatre productions & and we love to stay overnight at the Chemainus Best Western as part of our mini-vacation. The staff & service are friendly & competent and the hotel is attractive & well kept. We always try to reserve a suite with a corner balcony - a lovely place to sit with your feet up and enjoy a glass of wine.

To see a Best Western Plus in Chemainus surprised me, and when I walked in at 12:00am I was not let down. The staff were very friendly even at my late check in, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Our suite had two bedrooms with a queen and twin, and also a sofabed. Our group of 5 slept comfortably in this suite. The breakfast next day was also great, and the swimming pool wasn't bad at all. The only average part of the inn is the fitness room, which had outdated equipment and looks to have been neglected for a while. But add on free parking and adjacency to the town centre I guess that evens it out. Overall, a great place to stay at Best Western prices.

Stayed two nights here and all I can say is amazing. The pool and hot tub area was clean and fun. The rooms were big and accommodating to my needs, the breakfast was excellent. My son loves the waffle makers and strawberries! Next time I tour the island, I'll be staying here again!

Although it is a big hotel chain it has the feel of a small-town boutique Inn! Staff at this hotel are so friendly and helpful. They offered great tips on where to eat and what to do, helped us store our bikes safely overnight, and supplied us with a complimentary toothbrush. The hotel is super clean, has a fantastic gym, and we love the convenience of breakfast in the morning.I feel safe and well cared for at this hotel and can't wait to visit again. One thing to note is that the one bedroom suite is basically just a wall built around the queen bed. Don't expect a great deal of privacy.

We spent a week at the Best Western Plus in Chemainus and had a great stay. We were in a 2 bedroom suite which was spacious enough and well suited to our needs. The hotel is clean, breakfast was good, beds and pillows comfortable and staff super helpful and friendly. We took advantage of the golf course across the street which was also a hidden gem. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

What a great place so happy to have found it.The beds are super comfy, the staff and friendly and helpful, the pool (salt water) and hot tub areas are clean and spacious. The breakfast offered with the stay is exceptional, the variety of options offered were above par (and they tasted good too).

Tyson, was so helpful and very patient both during check in and check out. He had just made some fresh cookies and they were yummy. I had missed a personal item when packing and supplied that quickly!

The bed was absolutely THE best! What a great sleep! Friends who stayed on a separate floor also totally enjoyed their sleep... the beds are new; they are firm and yet super soft & comfy! The staff were awesome & the room extremely clean... they think of lots of little details, which is so great! I would definitely stay here again - in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for one night while we moved houses. We were impressed upon stepping foot in the doors. The hotel is modern and very tidy. The room was a good size and the beds comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was also convenient and satisfying. Unfortunately we did not stay long enough to enjoy the pool. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Our group of two couples stayed at this Inn for two nights for the Chemainus Theatre and for a tour of the wineries in the Cowichan Valley. Our room was a King bed room on the back of the hotel which overlooked a very busy and noisy big truck route. The Trucks were going to the dock and / or dropping of trailers. They had ear plugs in one of the bedside night tables; but never drew our attention to them. Also, the toilet got plugged in the early morning hours requiring us to contact the front desk who gave us a plunger, but no assistance. Other than those two issues, the room was ok with a good bed. The morning breakfast was a small buffet with the normal stuff of coffee, juice, dry cereal, limited hot food (eggs was tried) and waffles. Staff at the front desk were friendly, but not overly helpful in getting in contact with the other couple who arrived earlier. Tow nights worked ok, but not for longer stays.

Overall good hotel in Chemanis. The rooms were quiet and spacious. The beds were good. The breakfast was quite good with scrambled eggs, ham, hash browns, cereal, fruit, yogurt, breads, bagels, muffins, waffles. There was pretty good selection including hard boiled eggs as well. The hotel is probably a 15min walk from the main town and murals, but since we walked around to see the murals, we drove into town.

I'm sitting on our hotel balcony with a coffee as I write this review. Everything about this hotel is top notch - facility (clean modern rooms, nice pool) staff (they are welcoming and want to give you the best room to make your stay pleasant). I haven't had breakfast yet but, from all my previous visits here, it is one of the best complimentary breakfasts I've had. Plus, I'm earning BW points which I've recently become aware of how valuable they are - they don't expire like other loyalty programs.

I stayed here for 1 night while on my way to Victoria for business. The staff at check in were very friendly and quick. Helped my find my BW rewards number and a free cookie! The room was nice and big. Clean big bathroom. A queen bed in its own little bedroom. The room was well appointed but maybe time to update the furniture. The hot tub area was clean but again maybe time for an update. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety and hot offerings. Check out was quick and friendly as well. I would stay here again.

These rooms are exceptional - they are suites, with doors that close to the bedroom, lots of room, and everything is top notch. it is a bit more than some of the other hotels, but is far beyond in what it delivers. The staff is absolutely great - they overheard us saying it was our dog's first birthday, and they left a great note and dog treats in the room. Canada is generally a quite friendly place, but this hotel is a couple of cuts above. I have paid twice as much in the past for lesser quality.

This hotel caught my eye as it had such a high rating on several sites. I wondered could it really be that good?? Well it fully lived up to its billing. Immaculately clean throughout. Bed very comfy and spotless Pool and hotub great. A lovely golf course literally 30 paces from the front door as well as historic little towns/areas nearby with great food. You are only 30mins from Nanaimo and about 75mns to Victoria Lovely ambience in the hotel and the area in general. Definitely plan to return

This is an excellent hotel. It's very clean, big rooms and spacious. The front desk was very helpful. The pool was great. The restaurant was also an added bonus, good food and selection. I would definitely stay here again

From check in to check out. All the boxes were checked. We travel with a small dog and were met in the lobby with a pet station.....treats, poop bags, foot towels and water. The second floor king corner suite was beyond our expectations. Huge! Morning breakfast was a nice extra. Great location, able to walk to the Horseshoe Pub....

Wow such a pleasant surprise walking into our room. We stayed 3 nights and loved everything about our stay. Room was large, absolutely spotless, great balcony with table & chairs, full kitchen, Keurig machine, safe,lots of hangers, large bathroom and private bedroom. Just everything you could need is there!! Morning breakfast was decent. We had requested a top floor room and they had one for us. Walking distance to downtown. Highly recommend

Very quiet and peaceful within a stone's throw of Chemainus with lots of laid back cafes and good eateries. Staff were very helpful and gave excellent advice for our onward travel. Good pub and beer right over the road with live music but couldn't hear it from hotel.

The hotel is handy to town of Chemainus, friendly, clean and they serve an excellent breakfast. If you have to go to the theater in Chemainus I suggest you take the dinner with the tickets for the theater,they serve a very good dinner,because after the theater almost everything is closed.

If you are looking for a quite, clean, comfortable hotel on Vancouver Island, look no further. Our experience was wonderful. The staff were all helpful, and the morning breakfast was excellent. Thank you BW Chemainus for making our holiday a comfortable and relaxing one.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We paid extra for a balcony, which was an added bonus. The bed was softer than I would have liked, but this was not a major issue. What I really enjoyed was how quiet the hotel was throughout the entire night. Breakfast was included, but I would have enjoyed a greater selection of fruit and vegetables. The fitness room offered an impressive selection of equipment, and even had a television. I highly recommend this hotel.

Had a wonderful stay, friendly helpful staff, very clean rooms and a great breakfast! We enjoyed all that Chemainus had to offer with a short walk from our hotel. Perfect place for a family reunion! Will stay here again.

We stayed for 4 nights in a two bedroom suite at this hotel while visiting family in the hospital. Everything about our stay was outstanding. The gentleman at the from desk did everything he could to accommodate us. The only recommendation I would give is to place a portable air conditioner in the second bedroom as it can be quite warm. Having said that, we were quickly provided with a fan upon request which helped with the air flow significantly. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends.

me and my family had an awesome experience in Best western plus Chemainus for 2 nights. Very friendly environment and staff. For sure will plan for another trip very soon. Easy access to Victoria and lots of nice landscape shots.

I have stayed here many times for business, and always enjoy my stay here, always clean, always, friendly, and one of the best buffet breakfasts that I have seen. On this trip I was given an upper floor 1 bedroom suite with a million dollar view of the ocean. Thank-you!!

An excellent stay, this hotel was clean, beyond normal expectations. Mattresses were firm comfortable, High speed internet was, high speed and great. Breakfast was fantastic, cooked on site, Fresh eggs, scrambled, they were NOT dry, great selection of fruit, bred,in house made muffins. I highly recommend this location!

excellent, clean welcoming and allow dogs. Unfortunately for some of my colleagues they were not allowed to leave dogs in their rooms even if kennelled can understand but perhaps some other arrangement could be made.

Excellent friendly helpful staff that offered a choice of rooms at same price. Bright clean rooms, awesome breakfast, well groomed property. This is a first class place and treat their customers that way. Good location with ample parking spots.

We stayed one night with family and our 1 year old daughter. Room was a two bed mini suite with kitchenette and sofa bed in the little living room. The whole hotel was very, very clean. Our bedroom and the rest of the suite was very, very clean. There were “cleaned” tags on the kitchen cupboard doors and the tv remote came in a “cleaned” baggie... it was clean. Once again, for the record... clean. The staff were super helpful and very polite and pleasant. The breakfast was hands down the best, best western freebie breakfast I've ever had and could easily have been charged for as an additional. The mineral pool could have been 4-5 degrees warmer to be honest but I'm really having to search for faults in this hotel. We had a nice time and would certainly go back and recommend, if in the area.

Excellent staff, clean and comfortable rooms, this is our hotel of choice when we go to the theater, it is pet friendly and on the rare occasion when we have brought out dogs, the front desk staff is called a couple weeks before we go and arrange a dog sitter for us while we are at the theater, just another service the front desk staff does.

We stay here when we are in the area and there are so many good things about the hotel. The staff is exceptional, the pool is great and the breakfast is always good. The suites have kitchenettes which is helpful as there aren't a ton of restautant options close by.

We stayed in the Chemainus Best Western Plus Hotel the property was very clean all around. Lobby was bright and pleasant they include a breakfast which had a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries and cooked food. The pool & change room was clean, fitness room had several pieces of equipment but some in bad shape. Wi-Fi in Hotel worked pretty good for a full house.

I was very impressed by the "plus" in Best Western Plus. We were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful (as is everyone on Vacouver Island). Nice to have a hot breakfast buffet. All around great stay.

Location!!! Room size!!! Cleanliness!!! Staff!!! Linens!!!! Breakfast!!!! All 5 Stars! My husband and I live only 90 minutes from Chemanius and this was his first time to experience the theatre and the Best Western. We had a fabulous mini vacation and definately will be back soon!

We have stayed in other Best Western Plus hotels but not are all created equal. This hotel is definitely a step up from many other BWPlus hotels. The rooms, service and morning breakfast are definitely a step above. What a treat!

Tyson the Front Desk Clerk is always kind, welcoming and helpful. Excellent customer service provided by Tyson. I spend at least 3 days a week here and he is always the same. He is willing to make things work.

Very nice, one of the better Best Western Hotels to stay at. Too many these days are not worth staying at this one won't disappoint at all. Very clean and friendly staff. Really nice location. It's our go place to stay when we are south of Nanaimo and north of Victoria

The rooms are cozy and clean. Service is great. The only thing that i see as a downfall is the fact that in the womens change room for the pool, there is one shower that is in a stall and locks. Women need more than that and have to leave the pool in order to shower in my room when it is occupied. (women take a while to shower). Please look into that. Otherwise WONDERFUL and I highly recommend the Best Western.

We enjoyed our stay and the facilities offered by this hotel. We were warmly greeted, our room was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed using the pool and hot tub. Excellent location especially if attending theChemainus Theatre.

Overall, service and stay were good. Complimentary breakfast was a bonus and was decent. Room was clean and comfortable. Fitness facility had lots of different exercise equipment and the pool was fine. Only complaint was WiFi was slow.

From the time you enter the lobby to check in, the cleanliness of the Hotel and most helpful staff are evident. it is like being home in comfort. It is quiet and nestled in a small town on Vancouver Island with a reputation of some of the best theater groups with Plays that range from modern to Shakespeare. The towns Murals are exquisitely painted on many buildings throughout the town depicting the history of the early era's First Nation inhabitants up to todays artisans. The walking tour is most pleasant, passing many small gardens and Artists dwelling on the way. There is so much to see in this small town on the Island that I will have to return and stay longer to see all I wanted to see but could not on this visit due to time constraints, If you are going to Vancouver Island in the near future, Chemainus is a wonderful relaxing must stay on your visit. It is about 20 minutes from the ferry landing just below Nanimo and only 15 minutes from Duncan. So much to see in between as well. Plan to make the stop, you will likely agree that I am right.

From the efficient check in procedure (and not just the cookie ??), to the cleanliness and layout of our room, to the quiet sleep, to the exceptional continental breakfast, everything was 10/10. Would definitely stay here again!

I had planned and booked this room in the best western Chemainus approximately a wk in advance for me and my grand-daughter. I asked specifically for a king size bed for us as we share one bed, but wen we arrived there was no king sized bed and also the queen that was in our room only had half sized pillows and very hard, so was very hard to sleep comfortably, but the worst thing that happens was that we were kept awake with so much noise!...I also had asked specifically to please book us in a quiet room where we could actually get some sleep as we were going to need our energy to visit with family for the two days...anyway we were very disappointed with the stay at ur BW Chamainis and I hope u can somehow do something in the future for our next stay as we will b back in Chamainus visiting family again and did enjoy ur fitness areas, thankyou for your concern, Marilyn Lelond

Staff were very accomadating. Hotel was sold out. Parking lot full too. Nice pool, weight room. Very good breakfast: waffles, 2 types of scrambled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns. Nice waffle topping choices. Our room was well designed, with a sitting area, & a separate bedroom area, with Kitchinette. Excellent lay out. I thought the cost was on the high side. If it was twenty dollars less. We would be regular visitors.

Everything about this Best Western was awesome, Big Comfy Clean rooms, excellent Breakfast and the staff were awesome, we will be back. If you want a great place to stay on Vancouver Island than you owe it to yourself to stay here.

Travel for business over 100 nights per year but my first visit to this hotel. Nicely surprised and this modern well decorated, good located, spacious hotel that is truly pet friendly from what I could tell. I didn't bring a pet as this was a business trip but any hotel that has paw wipes and a container of doggie milk bones in the lobby has got to be tops in my opinion for those who have traveling fur-babies. I am coming back for a vacation with my labs as this location can't be beat. Rooms large, well equipped, clean, very good bathrooms with full size tubs and a VERY NICE Memory foam bed that I just loved. Yup the sofa was soft but I sure didn't see any sagging. Breakfast was as good as any for complimentary hotel breakie, they had all the basics and it was a pleasant area to eat in. Hotel was very quiet. I'm coming back to explore this area and staying here.

Decor is pleasant, breakfast served is great & has alot of choice. Rooms cleanliness can be improved. Bed is in poor shape & really needs to be updated ASAP. Couch in living room sagged noticeably to one side and had multiple rips.

Our family of four enjoyed the hotel. The beautiful breakfast certainly added value to the stay as well - a variety of hot and cold options for everyone. The kids loved the pool as well. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Had a great stay. Very clean room and hotel. The room (standard queen) was huge! 2 TVs, kitchenette and living room area. Very good value. The pool was awesome. Free breakfast was so good with lots of choices! I would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again:)

We were very happy with the service and amenities the Best Western Plus Chemainus offered. Kitchenette was well appointed, pool was fun for the kids and breakfast selection was great. Easy, straightforward 30-40 minute drive from the Departure Bay, Nanaimo Ferry Terminal. We would stay again :)

We stay here several times a year when we attend the Chemainus Theatre; We love our overnight stays here. It's a great mini-vacation for us and we enjoy using the pool and walking/window shopping in the quaint town.

Very accommodating and helpful staff! We arrived very early and she was able to let us check in. The front staff was able to recommend a fantastic pizza place that even delivered. The bed was so comfy and the room was very nice.

I normally do not write bad reviews, but I felt the need to bring this one forward for families travelling here. To begin, I have an 8-month-old baby & 7-year-old girl. When we entered the pool area our first day, there were no chairs as two were being used as “nets” for a pool game and a ball being punched by 5 or so boys with force back and forth, many times, exiting the pool into the area where my infant in the car seat was sleeping. I have my 8 month old baby and my 7 year old daughter in the pool with my husband. When I grabbed the chair away from their “net” to sit in as no one was offering any up, the kid said no we are using it for the game. When I went to the front desk with my concern, the lady with the glasses and bun said she would go check. She just did a count to make sure the parents were there and looked at me and yelled, for everyone to hear, “all of their parents are here” and left. Trying to deliberately embarrass me, I'm not sure because they all looked at me, parents included, and they went even louder and harder with their game. I went to the front desk and said it's out of control and she said to me in the rudest tone of voice “well, they are allowed to have fun you know, just wait till yours is that age,” as I only had my 8 month old with me and she didn't realize I had another kid in the pool. She said this with a chuckle and roll of the eyes. All while other customers were there and watching her rude comment, she was still not trying to resolve the situation and make all parties comfortable. I said we do have a 7 year old girl in there and it's extremely violent and disturbing. She said “well she cant be in there, she's too young.” I said my husband is there with her. Are you kidding me? I felt like this is a joke. I have worked in customer service and this is 100% not how you handle the situation. End of story, she was rolling her eyes and making my concerns invalid and trying to embarass me in public. Making me feel like we are in the wrong when we travel all the time and I have never experienced such chaos uncontrolled in a pool area with zero concern from the staff. Every pool we've been in had rules to avoid these unruly situations. I always talked great about the best western Chemainus to my friends from the mainland, but I would not stay here again due to the rudeness and lack of safety and concern for all guests comfort.

We came to Chemainus from Campbell River with our two grandchildren aged 4 and 9 to see the Murals and the Christmas lights in Ladysmith. I was thoroughly impressed with decor, cleanliness and shininess of this hotel. I thought it was new and was totally surprised when a local told me it was at least 5 years old. The front desk staff were very friendly and let us check in early. The kids loved the room with the pullout couch and their own tv. The Queen suite included a small bedroom and a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, stove top, and even a dishwasher. Also a Koenig coffee machine with complimentary coffee, creamers and water. After a bit of exploring the room, we went to the pool and hot tub, awesome. On the way I viewed the very well equipped fitness room. That evening we went to Ladysmith to view the lights with very informative map the front desk staff gave us. Again awesome! After a great night sleep on very comfortable beds we headed for breakfast - a full hot breakfast, scrambled eggs, ham, yogurt, fruit , waffles, cereal, coffee, juice and much, much more. We were stuffed. Since we had also been granted a late checkout, we did another round in the pool and hot tub before departing at noon. As per the title, on the way out, I mentioned to the front desk staff - love your hotel, the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Thanks.

We have been coming to this Best Western every time we visit the area. The staff have been fabulous and been very accommodating with our delayed flights over the times we've been there. I have never had an issue with this facility and because of the experience we've had here we also look at Best Western first in other areas and in the United States as our first place to go. If you are looking for a quiet place to sleep and really nice staff and not too far from Chemainus, as well as areas around it stay here! Thank you for not only the great service but also, giving my fiance and I the same room as we were not able to go home due to our plane not taking off! We have a rewards card because of the staff here and we love it!

We usually do the Chemainus Theatre package 2 or 3 times a year. Part of the package, is staying at the Best Western Plus. It has always met up to all our expectations. Clean, good service, great breakfast, & large Queen Suites.

We have stayed here several times, and everything has always been great. We love the suites with separate bedroom. Would be an ideal place to stay for a few days, as it has a small kitchenette as well. Always enjoy the freshly baked cookies when we are checking in. Absolutely no complaints about anything.

The hotel looks nice and is conveniently situated with easy close parking. The large clean room was nicely outfitted with everything one could need including the often elusive hook on the bathroom door and towel rails. There was an ironing board and iron, hairdryer and the heater was easy to operate. 2 luggage racks, chairs and various tables made it very comfortable. The breakfast food area while small had everything for a tasty meal and the eating area had plenty of seating. All in all a lovely place to stay and I regretted it being only one night.

Great location mid island. Nice suites, with full kitchen. Easily walk to golf, theatre and downtown murals You will need a vehicle to get to anything else. Great Hot breakfast, lots of variety MOTOR BIKES-parking, rags, wash area PETS-umbrellas, towels, treats etc

This lovely hotel is clean, looks new, and is conveniently located just outside the heart of Chemainus. Friendly, attentive staff, and excellent breakfast ! Comfortable rooms, ample parking, and lovely grounds. Highly recommend this beautiful Best Western location when in the Cowichan Valley.

BW Chemainus has high standards and I've come to look forward to our trips to Chemainus Theatre with this hotel as our destination. Staff is friendly and professional. Breakfast has warm and cold offerings, including fresh fruit.

Such a perfect place to stay after attending the Chemainus Theatre. A nice little one night getaway for my husband and I. Would definitely stay again and rx to friends and family. A real bonus was the sit down breakfast and the fact it was NOT continental! Superb!

The Best Western in Chemainus is a great place to stay if you're planning on attending the Chemainus Theater. The hotel is clean and the rooms are a good size. Having a separate section for the sleeping area is wonderful. The rest of the room was large with comfortable furniture, a nice desk and a kitchen area. We slept well on a very comfortable bed.

I highly recommend this comfortable hotel. It's about a 20 minute walk into town on a quiet street, staff is friendly and courteous and the rooms are spotless & well equipped. The pool and hot tub area is clean, the breakfast bar (free) in the morning is set up early and has lots to choose from. I always feel just a little bit spoiled when I stay here.

Right from the minute I walked in the door I felt like I was home....The staff are amazing, the hotel is immaculately clean and upkept...looks like a brand new hotel!!! You can tell the staff love it there by the way they hold their heads high and the smiles are genuine...theh all deserve a raise!!!

Check in is fast. The staff is polite and very helpful. The place is very clean. The place is quiet even though there were lots of small grouping travelling together and socializing before attending a local dinner theatre production. The halls and rooms appear to be built to absorb sound . The breakfast meal is attractive and has ample variety to satisfy most people.. The dining area is clean , bright, and comfortable. The rooms/ suites are also very clean and comfortable.

Wonderful hotel in Chemainus, close to everything! The Chemainus theatre was what drew us there, but you are close to Duncan, Ladysmith, Nanaimo! If you love to hike, do water sports, or just want a quiet get-a-way, than I would recommend Chemainus.

The hotel looks very nice from ourside and the interior makes you feel welcome as soon as you step inside, The rooms are roomy and coozy. The beds and bedding makes your nigth restful. This hotel is wonderful. The hotel staff are warm and friendly and make it feel like you are home offering hot cookies on arrival. The free hot breakfast is delicious with a great selection, the pool and spa are great and the rooms large and well equipped(ours had a kitchen and balcony). Chemainus is a great destination with the dinner theater and murals all over town. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel so much we extended our stay.

It's not a great hotel with a great view, but is pleasant, comfortable and relaxing with a well thought out ambiance. It's not only convenient to Chemainus, but Duncan as well. Breakfast is predictable for this class of hotel but was nicely laid out, lots of choices so there is pretty much something for everyone, the baked goods were fresh as well as the fruit.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond by leaving a special note wishing us good luck at our sporting event. The pool was great and the breakfast had a lot of choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay. Everything was great from the room, staff, breakfast. We were part of a group traveling for a hockey tournament and were well taken care of by Sara our group coordinator from start to finish! I would definitely return.

Honestly can't think of anything negative about our experience at this hotel. It was clean and full of friendly and enthusiastic staff. Even the grounds and spacious parking lot were groomed and attractive. All of this and the excellent free breakfast made our stay very satisfying.

This hotel is clean, roomy, great amenities, excellent breakfast, and superior staff. You cannot go wrong staying here. Right next to a great golf course and Chemainus has an excellent theatre. Visit downtown with all the murals. Very relaxing stay.

Wonderful overnight trip to take in the Chemainus Dinner Theatre. We keep doing it again and again. Check in at 4, settle into room and head to Theatre for 6pm for their buffet. The play starts at 8pm and we're back to our room at 10pm. Lovely date night! The hotel is clean and modern and very close to the Theatre. Breakfast is included and it's a decent breakfast with ham and scrambled eggs and the usual fare of waffles and cereal, yogurt, bagels, juice etc. Quite pleasant.

Stayed here for one evening it was clean, the hotel had nice amenities, and came with a decent breakfast included. The bathrooms were the weak link if I had any criticism. We'd definitely stay here again.

We were down visiting friends in Ladysmith and our do to hotel is this Best Western. Friendly reception, very clean facilities, small gym and a very good complimentary full breakfast. We were upgraded to a king bed suite and given a treat bag, a very nice perk. Amble parking and easy on and off to Highway 19. We had a great stay!

The Best Western Chemainus reflects the hospitality of the community it supports. This friendly, well kept hotel, provides a comfortable respite for workers as well as vacationers. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable, the staff is well trained, efficient and welcoming. The hotel provides all the amenities except a restaurant. The staff will direct you to several great local restaurants. The hotel does provide a great breakfast and will have a To Go breakfast bag for people leaving early in the morning. This is my favourite restaurant on my work circuit.

This is probably the BEST Best Western hotel we have ever stayed in and recommend it highly. The rooms are modern and large. Beds are comfortable. This is a very clean hotel. The staff are great. The breakfast room is bright and spacious and the food is great. We always return to this Hotel when we are in the area.

We travel to Chemainus from Victoria to attend the excellent dinner buffet/theatre there, and then stay at the Best Western there. We take advantage of the swim pool, and after an excellent night (very comfortable bed) we had the buffet style breakfast with a bake yourself waffle which was delicious! All together, a very pleasant stay.

Best Western Plus Chemainus was our home away from home for 8 nights. I had stayed there before, 2 years ago, and insisted that we stay there again on this past trip. The hotel itself is clean, relaxing, good food and a great team of employees who go out of their way to make your stay a great one. Highly recommend it to anyone heading to Vancouver Island :)

spent a night in this facility in Oct 2017 - spacious suite for 4 adults. Lovely breakfast included in the price. Would definitely stay again although would suggest requesting suite at front of hotel as logging company located at back and trucks arrive early morning

We had a great stay! A king, corner room with a cute little balcony! The sunrise in the morning was enjoyed. Great room layout, lots of space! Super clean room! Wish we had stayed longer! Really well stocked! The girl at check-in was fantastic, friendly and helpful! Local pizza place delivered right to your room! Bonus! We will definitely stay here again, and will be recommended to others as well!

The ambiance in this hotel is friendly, warm, casual and helpful. It is a real treasure in this little town. A great place to stay on a trip up or down the island. We went to Chemainus to take in some live theatre.l. No complaints. I'd highly recommend it.

It was a nice surprise to have the kitchenette in the room. The separate bedroom area was really nice, and all rooms appeared to have that feature. It was very close to the Chemainus Theatre, which offers a wonderful buffet dinner and a great play.

We stayed at the hotel as part of our trip to the Chemainus dinner theatre. The hotel is an easy walk to the theatre and we also enjoyed a stop at the Green Lantern Pub on the way back to the Best Western. Really enjoyed the stay at the Best Western. The suite was great and worked very well for socializing with friends before and after the dinner theatre. Very comfortable stay and the breakfast was great.

Our third stay here and every time we have had excellent service, rooms, breakfast, and friendly staff. We would not stay anywhere else on the Island , We love Victoria and the wonderful scenery along Hwy 1. Wish we could stay longer.

We always travel with our dogs and some hotels have pet rooms that are so unclean they actually smell bad and our dogs won't even enter the room. This hotel was absolutely clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We love Chemainus!

Such a pleasant surprise as the staff and hotel exceeded my expectations. One of the nicest suites we have stayed in this chain hotel. If you love golf, a fantastic course right across the street. Check out the Sawmill tap house for dinner....Amazing!!!

The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and so knowledgeable about local attractions. The breakfast was great, with the girls who helped keep the food hot and ready were polite and smiling, even early in the morning... think they need extra thanks for their hard work.

I stayed at this hotel while on a business trip. Although it was farther away from my work destination, it was worth the commute. Everyone on staff that I encountered was lovely, from the front desk to the breakfast chefs. The room was huge! The bed was comfortable, and after a long day of work the comfort was appreciated. It was also extremely quiet in the evenings! I have never stayed at a hotel as relaxing. Thank you, if I am working in the area again I will return.

If you are in the area, stay here - it's just off the traffic circle. We were there on holidays in September and stayed one night...The staff are great, the salt water pool is great as is the hot tub. The rooms are comfortable with good beds. The breakfast in the morning is well stocked with delicious breakfast items and then you are on your way...there is a good pub across the street that serves hardy pub food.

Off of the round-about in quiet Chemainus, B.C. there is the oasis of a Plus Best Western, with a more than filling breakfast (not simply continental) to add to the relaxation. Unlike many hotels in my Canadian travels, this one offers up the location of a fine dining pub across the street. Needed a rest before my journey continued. This is a perfect time-out for a motorcyclist.

I am a BW fan!! This property was very clean with great staff - shout out to Tyson and Sarah for their great customer service. We booked their last room - a 2 room suite, Updated décor, comfortable furnishings and bed. The pool is salt water so was lovely... great breakfast...and there is a funky little pub across the way and we were there on half price wing night - awesome.

love the fact that our large dog was welcome. Breakfast was wonderful. We loved rthe fact that there were so many items to choose from from dry cereal to making your own fresh waffles. The mineral pool and hot tub were just an added bonus. Super staff and nice rooms.

Chemainus Best Western was easy to get to and staff at the front desk super helpful at check-in. Rooms were a good size and very clean. Bathrooms were likewise good sized and clean. Coffee maker and fridge together with glass glasses and 2 complimentary water bottles were appreciated. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very dark. Really liked this! Would like if there was a USB port available but it wasn't a huge negative as we all travel with our full chargers. Breakfast was really good. Not everyone in our family likes eggs but these were some of the best. Sausages, toast, other breads, muffins, cereals, waffles, juice, yoghurt etc was all available and very well presented. The staff did a great job keeping everything clean and well maintained. Tables were cleaned well and quickly each time guests left ensuring that there was always available seats and tables for people to sit down and enjoy their food. If we visit this area again (which is spectacularly beautiful) would choose this hotel in a second!

Great hotel, good experienced staff, I have stayed in this hotel many times and have continued rebooking as the one time I had a bad experience about one year ago, management took care of it immediately and did not charge for the room (young hockey team in for tournament and had a sleepless night)

We have stayed here many times before as we enjoy the area and it is central to why we are there. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is excellent, and the service is second to none. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel wonderful staff rooms are always very clean but time to replace beds love the rooms with the balconies always look forward to our stay at hotel. They had trouble with a leak into breakfast room they handled very professionaly

First time on Vancouver Island. A great hotel from which to explore the Cowichan Valley, vineyards, lakes & seaside. Really enjoyed our stay at the Chemainus Inn. A spacious room well suited to our family of 5. Spotlessly clean & well presented. Kids loved making their own waffles for breakfast! Saltwater swimming pool was a bonus. Great location close to some family friendly restaurants. Regretted that we could not stay longer.

We have atayed at the hotel a number of times and have been pleased with the service, the hotel and the location - located in the pleasant town of Chemainus. The breakfast is always complete and the breakfast service excellent. The hotel is well maintained and clean.

I booked a room in this hotel and it had a fridge, hot plate and dishwasher. This worked out perfect as I was working long days and did not want to go to a restaurant. The service in this hotel is amazing. I was also told if I wanted to know where to go to eat or things to see, ask at the desk and they will help you.

All of the positive reviews of this hotel are bang on. The staff is quite amazing. Beautiful clean rooms, outstanding breakfast. Chemainus itself is such a beautiful community. Lots to see and do. We will be back!

Everything about this hotel was top notch, there was nothing left out. Motorcycle wash, dog bones for your pet, pool-salt water! Absolutely superb breakfast, staff super friendly. Can't say enough. We will definitely be heading back there as opposed to going to a larger city close by.

Excellent caring staff, nice rooms, clean, comfortable. Would highly recommend it. We had some very noisy neighbours in the room next door. The staff knocked on their door twice. They were very apologetic and also awarded us with 1,000 points on our point card.

Impressed from the first greeting from the front desk.. We booked this hotel for one night while visiting the island. The friendliness, cleanliness and community of Chemainus kept us there for two. This hotel is very well managed, at least as far as we could tell. Great complimentary breakfast, clean rooms and pool area. It's a pleasant ten minute walk to the downtown area, some really good restaurants and -- of course -- the theatre that we must check out next time. That next time will include staying at this hotel again. Highly recommend it.

Despite this hotel being 13 years old it still looks new. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Has a great breakfast which covers all individual tastes and needs. The room had a micro wave and fridge which makes this room very user friendly for those with small children. The bathroom is spacious and not your usual cramped rooms in many hotels.

Good value for the cost. Room was a suite with stove top, fridge, Keurig coffee machine. Two large TV's but we did not watch. Full Breakfast was really good with large selection. Pool, hot tub and well equipped exercise room.

Our suite was excellent and the breakfast the next morning was wonderful. We use this hotel as part of The Package Deal offered when going to The Chemainus Theatre. The only negative is the 4 PM check-in time as I feel it should be 3 PM at the latest.

I loved the room we had- the bedroom was closed off with a sliding door - kept the kids out! Bed was really comfortable. Easy access to main road, did not hear traffic or other guests.The staff were friendly and overall it was a great stay, I would recommend it. Only downside was I felt the elevator a bit slow at times.

This is a fantastic place to stay in Chemainus...clean...breakfast is very good...and it's in walking distance of the shops and theatre located in Chemainus. it's also close enough for a pleasant drive down to Victoria. I have stayed here twice and not been disappointed at all.

The unit was Spacious and clean. Good deal, with breakfast and parking included and decent wireless connection. The kitchen was well stocked and little touches like chocolates and water bottles were thoughtful and much appreciated.

Nice, quite, and affordable hotel with outstanding breakfast. No restaurant, but possiblities in town. Perfect pool with hot-tub for families. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and plenty of space.Restaurants in town close early around 9pm.

Great queen suite. Property is very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly ad very helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The location is great with easy access off the highway and well situated between Ladysmith and Duncan.

This is an excellent place to stay. In fact we liked it so much that we stayed twice during our holiday. The rooms are large with either two queens or with one queen and a separate sitting area + kitchenette. Everything was spotlessly clean and the included breakfast had freshly cooked items such as real scrambled eggs and sausages. The hotel is a bit out of town but you can easily walk into the theatre and the town centre. Chemainus is a charming town from the forestry era that has reinvented itself as a tourist town. There are restored buildings, murals and many interesting shops and restaurants. It is well worth a visit. If you are looking for a hotel between Nanaimo and Victoria, I would definitely recommend coming here.

Liked this hotel. Not only was it perfect / convenient for taking ferry from Nanaimo, but staff & service were very good. Room were spacious. Nice breakfast ready to go before 630 am - loved it. Good job.

An overnight here was a great choice. Comfortable beds, pet bed and welcome treats, delicious roomy buffet, and a good pool. Staff were awesome, thanks Carla! Shower was a highlight for its space and pressure. Great dog walk space across the street.

This is an amazing little town with a welcoming Best Western! Clean, organized, great value and I strongly recommend this hotel to all! The staff were exceptional from the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out! Being in this central part of town allowed easy access to the pubs, shops, and theater, which I highly recommend! Check out the great value of the theater and hotel packages!

We stayed one night at the BW while we attended the Rock n Roll show at the local theater. Both were great! The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly, and the full breakfast was excellent. I'd do this again next time I have visitors from out of the country.

Great stay! Loved the hot breakfast, and the pleasant stay. We slept well, and enjoyed having a self-guided tour of the town where we discovered some great artisans, and the theatre. The murals were a fun surprise to discover with almost every turn.

We have done the theatre package several times, which includes staying at this Best Western. The suites are lovely, & clean. The complimentary breakfasts are also great. The front desk staff are always very helpful, and friendly.

All I can say is OMG. If you do not pick this Hotel to stay at while in the Chemainus area don't bother going at all. It is an awesome experience. Everyone is always at the top of their game from the front desk to the gardening and cleaning. The breakfast is of the best quality and always plenty of it.

I was thrilled to roll into the little hamlet of Chemainus and to arrive at the Best Western there. It's a large, spacious and well-appointed hotel for such a quaint little town. I loved it! We had a lot of family meeting there to attend a family wedding and all the amenities, from the pool, hot tub and breakfast area, served us well. The pool is a salt water pool which is a nice change from chlorine.

We really enjoyed the stay . the hotel was in the perfect location for our visit and very handy to all the surrounding areas. To fill out all the things that this part of the survey ask for is a bit dumb but hopefully this does it.

A quality hotel on the island. Clean. Great amenities. Rooms are what you would expect of 4+ star hotel - it was more than I expected to find in this area. We were there for a family wedding & had multiple rooms. I would go back in a heart beat.

Everything about this hotel was good.Everyone greeted us from front desk to cleaning staff-when we left and entered hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of selection; also breakfast room was large enough for all quests.

Clean, comfortable and well-appointed. A short one night stay featuring a comfortable bed with good linen and a small kitchenette that is always appreciated. Little details like a bottled water and a chocolate on the pillow, fresh cookie at check-in and daily newspaper in the lounge show that ownership cares. The saltwater pool clean as was the hot tub. The breakfast was generous, clean and the ladies working the stations very pleasant. Will be back.

This has been the best hotel we have ever stayed at. We drove across Canada and stayed at a few other brands and you can see the difference it made. This location was friendly, prompt, helpful and very aware of any needs we required. I will now only stay at this hotel now going forward. The cleanest bedding and rooms I have ever slept in. The beds were very comforting and didn't seem to very old. Soft and enjoyable.

my wife and two small kids stayed here recently for 3 nights. the whole experience was great. breakfast was awesome in the morning, and the rooms were clean and in order. The location was also great, nice golf course right across the street as well as local pub.

A little out of the way but worth the extra effort. Modern, clean, well managed and all the comforts of home. Staff is "small-town friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast is included and I mean "breakfast". You won't need lunch later if you eat here in the morning. Rooms are great, especially the "balcony suites". Worth every penny!

I found the Chemainus Best Western to be new, comfortable, easy to find and close to viewing all the Murals but you will need a car. The pool and hot tub were clean. The eggs and sausage were flavourful and the diningroom very attractive.

We stayed here because we had tickets to the theatre. We took a theatre/dinner/rooms package. Well worth it. We also took a suite, with two bedrooms and a living room, and a small kitchenette. Beds were very good. Room was quiet. Nicely appointed.

Great service, great staff, Wonderful, room comfortable homey atmosphere. Excellent service all around great place to stay. Very family and pet friendly! We booked our whole live theater package on line with the room! Great discount too!!

My wife uses a mobility scooter and we travel with a pet so finding a good hotel is sometimes a challenge. This hotel has it all for the traveler. Clean, big enough rooms to get the scooter in, excellent breakfast, and friendly staff. I would recommend this property and would stay here again!

We decided to drive to Chemainus rather than spend the night in Victoria and we are sure glad we did. The town is very quaint and the BW hotel was an unexpected surprise. The hotel was clean and had excellent staff and facilities Th N unexpected

We returned to the hotel and found everything as good as we remembered from the last visit. The staff were excellent and always willing to help. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast really good. The spa/hot pool just what we ordered after a long drive. It is also so close to the town that visiting to look at the murals again was really easy.

Excellent property in a very small town en route from Victoria to the Pacific Rim National Park. But I had to pay twice for one room night. I initially made an honest mistake, when I got the month wrong on a "non-refundable" booking. The hotel staff went by the letter of the contract, and refused to change the booking from May to June. So I ended up paying twice.

I have to start by saying, any place that thinks of my pooch as much as they do me, is A plus in my books. While I wasn't travelling with my 4 legged boy this trip, BW won my heart with the bowl of puppy treats, puppy towels and sitting spot, as soon as you walk in the door! Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Pool amenities are basic, but clean. There were a few life jackets, and baby floaty devices, for use. Again, these little things add up. Hotel was clean, breakfast was plentiful with warm, and cool options. The quaint community has everything you need for a couples weekend away. Grab a bite from a local cafe, take a walk along one of the beaches, or take in a farmers market, you won't be disappointed. We would definitely stay here again.

I chose this place for the location and price but was very surprised that it was so nice. There is a nice restaurant across the street and a grocery store a few blocks up the road. If you are looming for a place that is not in the hustle of Victoria but close enough for a day drive this place is great.

Loved the staff! Overall great place to visit and stay. We went for a wedding in Chemainus and so just stayed the one night, however we would gladly have stayed longer to take in the theatre and the murals. We will be back.

This is a very nice place to stay in Chemainus. It's an easy walk to the theatre and the restaurants in Chemainus. The breakfast (included) is very good, with both hot and cold selections. There is a nice view (OK, a glimpse) of the ocean from some of the rooms. The salt water pool is enjoyable.

Wonderful location for our sporting event. Great at holding and booking our rooms as a group booking. Clean hotel, professional staff and it had everything we needed. Our team also used the hotel pool and hot tub and I personally used the gym.

Good experience very comfortable felt safe once checked in all my needs met did not have to leave hotel quiet as a woman travelling alone safety very important appreciated and needed late check out to accommodate teleconference meeting

2 bedroom suites very small. Breakfast and staff running it were excellent. Pool (no towels available) and exercise room good. When it came to billing and checking out staff and management totally incompetent after 3 attempts at straightening out bill. Insisting people were not charged when they were. Manager later emailed me saying she was sorry and "am thankful for the learning experience". All at the expense of ruining our vacation.

We enjoyed every moment at the hotel and area that we explored on the island. So much to see and do. The pool was great for the grandchildren and the breakfasts were delicious with lots of choices. We also had a birthday party in the far breakfast portion - the hotel staff provided the dishes we needed. It was roomy enough for all 18 of us . We were allowed to put up decorations and stay for a reasonable amount of time. Thank you for allowing for family gatherings - we all were given rooms on the same floor which we enjoyed.

This hotel is outstanding, I has been open for 12 years and it is very well maintain. The staff is outstanding in their service and courtesy. The continental breakfast is exceptionally well presented in a friendly environment and the food is good. I was impressed with the china dinner ware and the stainless steal cutlery.

Stayed over nite at this most wonderful Best Western on our way to Port Hardy to catch the ferry to Prince Rupert. An easy ride from the Victoria Airport and on to Port Hardy. Accomodations were outstanding. Breakfast was deliciously served in a clean pleasant dining area. Dog owners have a separate floor and are welcomed at the reception area with doggie treats. This Best Western is a real treat!!!!!!!! ENJOY!

We had to move out of our house for renovation. We chose Best Western because we could take our Westie. We were looked after very well, and the hotel was lovely and comfortable.The breakfast was very good lots of choice, having the pool and fitness centre was an added bonus.

This was our second stay with Best Western Plus in Chemainus and both times we found our visit very successful. Lovely rooms, great pool, good breakfast with loads of room for people to maneuver - which is important when you have a lot of people getting breakfast! Great place and good value. Lovely town!

Enjoyed this so very much it was like being in a home, staff was friendly and helpful and facility was out of this world! I brought my sister and my son and grandchildren there to swim and enjoy the facilities aand everyone had a fabulous time!

We had an unexpected delay due to car trouble so were late leaving Victoria heading to Tofino. Instead of doing the drive ahead of us we booked this hotel the same day and were very pleased with the choice. The hotel is dog friendly which is great. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room we had was lovely. The complimentary breakfast was quite good, lots to choose from. Would recommend the hotel to anyone travelling in this area.

This Best Western is by far the BEST Best Western Hotel I stay at on Vancouver Island. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating, as well as having a clean and quiet hotel with very comfortable furnishings. This hotel is a gem.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside. Lots of parking in parking lot. Staff was friendly and helpful. We have stayed there before and will always stay there when we visit the island. Definitely would recommend hotel

Staff was very attentive and friendly! Definitely be back! From the moment we checked in until we checked out, the staff and service was phenomenal! The breakfast selection was fantastic and the potatoes with peppers in them were the best!

We visited Chemainus for a family get together for which I booked two suites. I requested two rooms close together. I wanted adjoining rooms, but these are not available at this location. The second room across the hall was as close as possible and was appreciated. The kids used the pool and were happy with the size and cleanliness. The location was across the street from a good family restaurant/pub - the food there was excellent. Also, the hotel was close to a branch of the Trans-Canada trail, which afforded a pleasant walk through a forest and into the center of town. The location was easy to find as well, just a 2 km drive off the Trans Canada Highway. While we were there a team of community volunteers were planting flowers along the road in front of the hotel which made the setting even more appealing.

Staff were super friendly, polite and professional. Room was well appointed and meticulously clean. Hot breakfast with fruit, yogurt and cereals was much more than we expected. Many of the old character buildings are decorated with interesting murals and the theatre with its wonderful performances is next to none. Nice hotel in a quaint town. Lots of small local shops nearby too. The hotel is newer and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Travis at the front desk was awesome to deal with. A breakfast which is included was helpful in the morning before heading out for the day.

This is where I stay when travelling this area of the island. Always pleasant staff, clean hotel. Great pub across the street.The town is full of small shops and artisan goods. A great place to walk around and learn about the history of the area.

At first we got in late.got kids into room and found our bed wasn't made. Talked to front desk. Guy was by himself in a full hotel. And did his best to correct the matter. I felt I had to help him out so I changed my own sheets thst night. Oh yeah the fire alarm battery was dying..... Beep and then we would..... Beep.... get almost to..... bleep... sleep. So I unplugged it. I was angry. Very angry. Even next day, the head housekeeper delivered a bottle of red wine and a boxchocolates to our room with some little extras to say I'm really sorry. We left there feeling like it was a mistake and they truly wanted to make it better. Beds comfy, breakfast was great, daughter said awesome, towels feel so nice and the sheets felt great. Rooms felt modern hotel was clean. The pool was also clean and comfortably warmed. Not chlorine it was mineral pool. Tasted gross for a mouthful but no chemicals. They even fixed my girls stuffies and even made the floor bed we created for our oldest daughter.

Best hotel I've stayed at in along time the staff and rooms are amazing the breakfast buffet is great with a great selection beds are compfy and over all number one best western I've stayed at by far .

Booked a two bed room, and was happy to discover the beds were in separate rooms, and we had a large living space and kitchenette. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. There were a couple hockey teams there for a tournament at the same time, but we had no problems with noise levels. The breakfast surpassed my expectations. There was hot sausage or bacon, hashbrowns, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, along with cereal, yogurt, and build-your-own waffles. It was all delicious.

A great property with super friendly staff. We stayed here during a hockey tournament and it was still so quiet. Chemainus is a delightful town with an artistic flair. Don't forget to check out the Sawmill for a great meal as well.

We stayed overnight after seeing a terrific performance at the Chemainus Theatre. Staff were friendly and welcoming to our dog. Pet friendly room came with mat, treats, food and water bowl. Ocean beach and off leash dog park nearby that our dog enjoyed.

We were happy to find the hotel went above and beyond what we were expecting in a smaller community. The staff, the generous size of our room and the really excellent breakfasts convinced us that we should come back. One "minus" though, when did hotels start putting those silly little pillows on the beds instead of, say, two king size pillows on a king bed. We find this everywhere now and it is not comfortable.

We were attending the Chemainus Theatre performance, and managed to get a reservation at the Best Western. It is fairly close to the theatre; convenience and good value. The room was quite spacious and even had a kitchenette. The bedroom was separated from the rest of the room by sliding doors. It was quiet and clean throughout. The staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their positions. We would stay there again and would recommend this hotel to others travelling to Chemainus.

Great hotel in a nice area but somewhat high priced. No microwave in my room which was disappointing considering the price. Good staff, good quality property, just some disappointment. The room view was pleasant with the ocean and islands in the distance. Sawmill behind hotel is no issue.

A very enjoyable experience for our family (two of us and our two feline companions). The whole experience was stress free and exceptionally friendly when compared to stays elsewhere. Our pets were readily accepted and treated very well as were we. The pet friendly policy is geared more to dogs but our cats were in no way restricted. This hotel is located close to ammenities but still quiet and very clean.

not far from the water, lakes, gold course, nice little town with touristy things to do, landscaping and gardens are very well kept and in bloom presently. Breakfast bar out does many other hotels as the staff care about the little details

This hotel is well situated in order that you can attend the Chemanius theater. Reservations are highly recommended. The rooms are very nice We didn't have Wifi in our room but have had at other times in other rooms. We had successful in the lobby. There are several comfortable couches to sit on in the lobby with some newspapers to read while waiting for someone or to take away . The Breakfast was more that enough to satisfy a person.

Lovely, clean suites. Great kitchenettes, really nice complimentary breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Arlene at the front desk was exceptional. Nice fitness room, pool and hot tub. Enjoyed our two night stay!

Friendly helpful staff. Great value for the money. Would stay there again if I was in the area. I would recommend this hotel to those with or without a family. If you are travelling on business it is great as well. It is always nice to start the day with a good breakfast!

Had to do an over-nighter in Chemainus and was pleasantly surprised by the comfort, quality, and amenities of this inn. The four of us stayed in a "queen suite" which was clean, quiet, comfortable, and nicely appointed. It had a separate alcove for the queen bed, which afforded us some privacy while our two kids took the sofa bed. It had a small but well-appointed kitchen, which we happily used to prepare a small dinner. We also made good use of the indoor saltwater pool and the jacuzzi, both of which were clean and well-serviced. The price included a nice buffet breakfast which featured the usual continental breakfast items (toast, cereal, pastries, juice, and coffee) plus scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and waffles with strawberries and fresh whipped cream. Staff were friendly and competent. We would definitely return to this hotel if in that area again. The only downside for some people, perhaps, is that the inn is just outside the town of Chemainus so it misses out a bit on the charm of the small, artsy town, but it's really not too far to walk or drive to the local amenities (live theatre, restaurants, shops). It's adjacent to the golf course though, and only a minute off the highway for easy access to everything else.

Our room was very well appointed and a close location to the Chemainus Theatre and restaurants. One of the cleanest Best Western properties we've ever stayed at, with a bonus being the fabulous selection of breakfast items to choose from.

We had tickets to the evening performance 'Two Piano's For Hands', at the theatre. We have visited this quaint town of Chemainus many times over the years, enjoying the unique shops , and dining in various food venues. We watched the new hotel rise from the ground, and heard good reports from friends who have stayed there. Our 'overnite' was a good experience.... the room was comfortable, quiet, and very clean. Breakfast was superb, a varied and large choice of items, we enjoyed a comfortable table by the window. After a speedy check out ..... our statement was delivered to the room sometime during the nite, we traveled on down Island to complete our weekend with a visit to the Butchart Gardens.

From the time you walk in the door, this hotel shows you it's different. Imagine walking to the front desk to line up to check in. Instead of being ignored as you wait, unsure if you should be trying to get the attention of the second employee busy behind the desk or just waiting quietly like a good Canadian, one of the employees looks up and smiles at you. "Welcome, I will be with this guest a few minutes more, then you're next. Please help yourself to a beverage and cookie and have a seat while you wait." That sets the tone for your entire stay. The rooms are immaculate as are all public areas. Pet friendly like we've not experienced before, a sparkling fresh breakfast room with an abundance of choices and staff everywhere that warmly greet you and fuss over the dog (I think some even miss our dearly departed pet). If there's any negative it would be that surrounding properties are not beautiful, ideally they would be parks and gardens but those are nearby if not visible from your room.

We had a great stay at the hotel. Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Chemainus or the surrounding towns. Very close to the water. Easy to find.

The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and internet was of average speed for a hotel. The tv had a Telus optic tv system which included the interactive guide so I did not have to channel surf or wait for a static TV guide to run though. The hot and cold breakfast had good a selection of food and included a waffle station.

Arrived in Chemainus not knowing too much about it---what a little gem. Wonderful and historic murals and a first class theatre! Our visit to the tourist bureau provided us excellent information. We found the Chemainus Inn and were very pleased. A fairly new property, the rooms are spacious and well-equipped. We had a queen suite which included a separate bedroom and a good sized sitting area and kitchen. You could spend quite a few nights there and be content. Only negative, over which there is no control, is there is not any kind of a view and the front of the hotel overlooks a fairly busy road and roundabout. Staff were very good and the included breakfast got us going in the morning. All in all, a very good stay.

Business brought us to Vancouver Island and the Chemainus/Duncan area. While there were hotels closer to our points of work, strong recommendations from associates caused us to choose this hotel. Everything from check-in to check-out went very smoothly. We had to add a third night at the very last moment. The staff worked very hard to accommodate our request. FYI, a complimentary breakfast is provided and is certainly acceptable. One can also grab a 'brown bag' if you are in a hurry. I should add our suite was very well appointed and comfortable. It included a full kitchen with all the necessities. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Chemainus at the Best Western, and while we only visited for one night the large room and full kitchen would be ideal for a longer getaway. We experienced a fantastic night and performance at the Chemainus Theatre after checking in. The room itself was spotless, beds comfortable and the breakfast was very good, with a great selection for many tastes. The morning after checking out was spent walking around town and getting a head start on our Christmas shopping! All in all a great little surprise escape for the two of us!

my wife, 16month old, mother-in-law and I were passing through the city. We booked a two bedroom suite with a kitchenette. The room was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything you would need. Great room for families with young children. We did not stay long enough to use any of the amenities. Positives: - easy check-in and the staff was super friendly. - there are daily freshly baked cookies that were super yummy - the included breakfast is a full breakfast and it was of good quality - you have access to hot water, coffee, choice of many high qualities, juice 24/7 - the rooms were clean - the kitchenette had everything you needed to make a simple meal. a real bonus for families with small children. - the room had a K-cup machine..and 4 k-cups. decent coffee in your own room! Negatives: - the iron in our room didn't work particularly well. since we were only staying one night I didn't bother to play around with it and figure out if it was me or the iron - the room had a sofa bed which we used. it wasn't particularly comfortable but then again are any sofa beds? just be aware. Overall, we were really impressed and would definitely stay there again

check in was easy and quick, time for a quick dip in the pool, my husband went to the weight-room, long hot shower, then off to a buffet dinner and watch a play. Next day we got up late, had a hot breakfast and just wandered around town looking at the murals, dropped in to two galleries and a coffee shop, had a spicy African themed late lunch at Odka, then home Oh did I forget to mention, we live in Chemainus and were given the hotel/theatre package as an anniversary gift. Embarassed to say have never previously taken the time to explore the murals, just glanced at them in passing!

The Chemainus Inn is a beautifully kept hotel. Well maintained, impeccably clean, very welcoming an a fabulous complimentary breakfast. Best hotel on Vancouver Island. Plaques in their lobby indicate they have won many awards from Best Western and others.

I stayed at the Best Western in Chemainus as it was in good proximity to my corporate client. I have stayed at other Best Western properties in Canada and the US. I am not sure this qualifies as a Best Western "Plus" The service checking in was however excellent.

We`ve been doing this for a few years now - Check in around 4pm, a glass of wine while we dress. Head down the street at 6pm for a lovely buffet dinner at the Chemainus Theatre - then watch a delightful play. Return to the room around 10. Breakfast is included in the morning. Perfect. I can`t help but notice that there are MANY couples - often older couples doing the same thing. Enjoy!

This is an excellent hotel, great location, walking distance to everything, outstanding staff, facilities, and super clean! The breakfast is hot, varied options and large, attractive breakfast room. I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely property in a small town. Large room with a king sized bed, refrigerator and Keurig coffee machine. Large LG tv and life is good in this room. Superior amenities. Hot breakfast with gluten free bread. Heated pool and super hot jacuzzi. Great gym. They even have treats for your dogs.

Booked on line from Toronto, turned out to be a great stay! So nice we went back the following weekend. Was house hunting in the area, the staff provided a lot of information on the area, and even remembered us from the weekend before at check-in. Clean, quiet, and the breakfast was well maintained and offered a great variety of foods. Beds were really comfortable.

This hotel is off the beaten path and a real gem! Breakfast area is clean and well laid out. Food was good also. I had a single queen suite (room 308) which was very clean and comfortable. Two flat screens, one in the living area and one over the desk which can also be viewed from the bedroom. The only annoyance was that my desk chair slowly leaked down so I had to keep raising it back up. They use Keurig coffee machines in the kitchenettes which are great for one quick cup if you're up and out the door early (pretty much the ONLY way I travel). I'd recommend this hotel to any of my friends and colleagues.

This was the perfect match for our hotel and theatre weekend. Excellent hotel with great amenities; pool, hot tub, and a great room made our well deserved weekend away a wonderful experience. Within walking distance to the Chemainus Theatre to take in a play, as well as walk through the small town of Cheaminus to see the murals and do some shopping. Will be back!

Very pleasant stay, good food and Chemanius theatre and dinner first rate. Hilda's Yard very well done, funny play. Very enjoyable day and evening. After checkout visited a number of local shops with interesting, eclectic products.

Last minute stop with no reservation, my wife and I graciously welcomed to a mini-suite at what I consider a standard rate - wanted to stay longer but had other commitments. The complimentary breakfast was complete with fresh fruit, yogurts and an excellent choice of hot items. Great value all around.

One of my favourite hotels in BC for business travel. Beautiful quiet suites, excellent pool/hot tub, and decent hot breakfast. Staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help. I stay here for extended 4 to 5 night stays, and will come here instead of Nanaimo if I am working in the area.

My wife and I were very satisfied with the quality of the hotel staff as well as the physical facility. We received a warm welcome and send off as well as excellent service during our brief stay. The facility is well maintained and is conveniently located on the edge of this quaint community. We were especially impressed with the care taken by the front desk staff to ensure that we were satisfied with our check in and our room.

Using this hotel was part of a Chemanius theater dine/show/stay. Lots of fun. We had a lot of fun touring area. It's a great option for anyone living on mainland or for out of town visitors. I think I'll make it an annual event.

I agree with a previous reviewer that I am unable to fathom what singles out Chemainus but it provided us with a good base for 3 nights to go out to Port Renfrew and north to Cathedral Grove and surrounding area. The hotel was very comfortable and the kitchenette allowed us to have some meals in which was nice after travelling around. Breakfast needs to be worked on, especially bread and pastries, and the pool area needs upgrading but overall a nice hotel to stay in. Unless we missed something Chemainus is not overflowing with places to eat so a kitchenette might be worth considering

Comfortable room, very helpful staff, excellent complimentary breakfast and perfect location for seeing the local sights. We will go out of our way to stay at this particular Best Western the next time we visit in the area.

Not much to say when complete hotel is excellent. This was my second stay and would definitely return again. Spacious and quiet rooms with excellent bed. Very, very clean. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.

We were very impressed with this hotel. The cleanliness & new condition of the carpets, furniture, linen (including mattress) was excellent. The breakfast was very good as well as the number of tables available. We would definitely use the Chemainus, B.C. hotel again. All the staff were pleasant & helpful.

You need to keep your expectations in check before you check in to The Best Western Chemainus. I am not exactly sure what the attraction of Chemainus is in the first place but the hotel is modern and clean and the staff are friendly. Chemainus itself is not a big town, so not exactly sure where the centre is, but this hotel is slightly out of town and there is nothing much around other than a pub across the road (more on that later). The golf course is also nearby and actually looks like quite a nice course, although I didn't look closely. Our room actually looked out the back to a fuel depot, so it was nothing to speak of and in fact the trucks running in and out continuously were throwing up plumes of dust, which meant the window stayed closed. The room has a wall mounted air conditioner which constantly switches on and off during the night trying to regulate the temperature, so apart from being noisy, the temperature goes hot and cold all night. The hotel has cable TV and a good selection of channels, apart from the most useless remote control I have ever encountered. The free WiFi is good and fast. One very nice feature is a decent fitness room which is fairly well equipped. Much better than you would expect from a 3 1/2 star hotel. There was a buffet breakfast served, which smelled pretty good, but the feeding trough was fully occupied when we tried to get some food, so we gave up. I mentioned that eating venues within walking distance of the hotel were scarce. The only place we found was directly across the road - the Horseshoe Bay Pub. What a shocker. It was comedy night and we were only allowed in if we paid the $12 door charge each. The wine was straight out of a cask and the food was very ordinary. But the worse aspect was the comedy. That was crude, vulgar and revolting. They should have paid us $12 to suffer through. So give that place a big miss. You might have to drive down to the centre of the town for something more edible and bearable.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and I will keep coming back if this service level and quality standard is maintained!! Excellent room, excellent location, excellent breakfast, and a very professional staff. The quality of the room is very unique and comfortable, the suites are spacious and well stocked with everything I need when I arrive.

Got a room at the last minute after a long day. Great hotel with very helpful staff, that made dinner reservations for us while we were getting our luggage up to the room. The room was clean and very well appointed. This would be,..will be a hotel that we will stay at again when we are in the area. Bicycle friendly hotel.

We loved this hotel. Very nice and clean and comfortable. Good selection for breakfast ,although the sausage was overcooked. Bed was comfortable and was quiet. We enjoyed swimming in the pool. Will definitely stay here again!

We booked a night in this hotel on the way to an early Vancouver ferry ride. Super clean and convenient to the highway, but a bit farther to Departure Bay than we realized. Still glad we stayed. Loved the warm cookies upon check in. Were upgraded to a better room at no extra cost because we wanted to be away from the elevator. Pool was cool, hot tub was hot! Jennie at the front desk was so helpful and gave recommendations on seeing the town murals and a great place to eat. Highly recommend this hotel for value and friendly service!

Don't be lured by the term "Two bedroom suite". The room was only slightly larger than a one bedroom, and only had one bathroom. It was much too small for four adults. The living room was actually smaller than the living rooms in the one bedroom suites. Additionally, the A/C units are a bit noisy, and there is very little closet or dresser space in this room. The service and breakfast at this hotel however, was very good.

I have nothing but good to say about the staff, both the cleaning staff and the front desk. The room was kept clean, the breakfast was great, and the front staff where helpful even when busy. All were friendly, polite and went out of there way. The location was perfect, close to everything. Chemainus is a nice town with lots to see. Beautiful murals and sculptors.

This hotel was very quiet and off the main highway. It has many amenities including an excellent breakfast, pool, a large gym and fast WiFi. It also has both regular rooms and suites. The rooms are well lit and use bright colours. The staff are very friendly and the prices are quite reasonable for Vancouver Island.

We are enjoying a wonderful stay here. The hotel is fresh and new. The front desk are very good at what they do.The pool and hot tub is mmore than what we expected, as was the well designed room. Excellent value at this hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I stayed at the Best Western in Chemainus for the first time this week. Lovely hotel with all the amenities. Family and pet friendly as well. I would highly recommend you put this hotel on your list of places to stay on Vancouver Island.

Very nice rooms, good amenities, great breakfast, reasonable cost. My only complaint would be with the pillows - the beds were excellent, the pillows were awful! Bottled water was provided the first day but not following days - I was told they were trying to "reduce the footprint".

We loved everything about this hotel. The pool was lovely. The room (a suite with balcony) was super lovely. The breakfast was ample & kids had an awesome time making their waffles each day. The staff were beyond pleasant and helpful with everything - places to eat, arranging horse & carriage mural tour with pick up from hotel - that was excellent! It was a pleasure to stay here - a relaxing part of our vacation.

The Best Western Chemainus Inn offers a very clean and comfortable stay in very nicely appointed rooms with comfy beds. They offer an excellent hot and tasty breakfast per stay with newspapers for reading, the staff is cheery and courteous and knowledgeable about the area. Chemainus is a quaint hamlet by the water with access by ferry to nearby islands. Chemainus Dinner Theater host excellent entertainment put on by local actors. Great value for all the family!

Had a wonderful experience at this hotel and the surrounding city of Chemainus is fun to explore as well. Staff were all cheerful and helpful, the continental breakfast was always hot and plentiful and the room was really nice as well.

The hotel is fairly new and is fairly well appointed. It is not 5 star luxury but it is very clean and comfortable. Beds are good as are the pillows. I would recommend staying there. The breakfast in the morning is a fair make your own breakfast that is cleaned and restocked well.

Couldn't have been a Better Hotel, the Beds were Very Comfy, Clean & the Staff even phone to the room to see if it met our Expectations, Staff was very friendly, helpful & Breakfast had a Huge choice to choose from & very tasty. Would Definitely stay there again.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, and have nothing but the best things to say about it. We again, were given a suite, and a complimentary breakfast. Nice welcoming lobby entrance, and everything was very clean. Service also was excellent. We purchased a Chemainus Theatre package, which included this hotel.

I recently stayed here on a bus tour with my mom and grandma. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Manger, welcoming us to the hotel. There are cookies at the checkin desk for the guests. The room we had was a 2 room suite with a kitchenette. It was very nice and clean. The hotel is fairly close to the Chemainus Theatre where they have a dinner and a show. The breakfast in the morning a good variety of stuff, including nutella packets and whipped cream for the waffles. When we left, the manager came on the bus to say goodbye to us. The way we were greeted and sent off from the manager was a nice touch. I definitely enjoyed my short stay

Whenever we travel to Vancouver Island, and are in this area, we always book this hotel. The staff & management are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a wonderful choice of food & beverages. The rooms are very quiet, comfortable and clean. There is also a kitchenette complete w/fridge, microwave, stove & dishwasher. We also enjoy the fact that they have REAL glass glasses in the room, and we can even enjoy a glass of wine in a real wine glass. The town is within walking distance, where one can enjoy everything they have to offer. If you don't want to walk into town to have dinner, there is a great little pub across the street that has good pub fare.

Wonderful friendly greeting....excellent cookies ?? to tie you over while checking in . Absolutely pristine rooms......all of the staff couldn't do enough for you...the continental breakfast was delicious esspecially the waffles. The Sawmill Restuarant minutes away was recommended and was a friendly dining experience , not to mention delicious menu.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and cared about our comfort. The room was immaculate with all the amenities and very comfortable. We packaged our stay with the Theater/dinner and with the wonderful breakfast at the hotel the next morning we felt as if our one night stay was truly a Holiday. We enjoyed the clean pool and fitness room, as well. It is close to the little town of Chemainus and enjoyed walking through the shops and down to the water. We will definitely stay here again. A first rate Best Western!

This is a beautiful, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, we had a small suite. The free breakfast was fresh and hot, with just enough variety to please most everyone. The pool and hot tub were an unexpected treat.

From the moment we entered, it was different - cleaner, more welcoming. The welcoming cookies were perfect. We were traveling with another couple. The two bedroom suite we had reserved was great. The living room gave us a place to converse. 15 minutes after we arrived, the front desk called and asked if everything met our expectation. We used the on site laundry - it was clean and in working order. Breakfast was the most extensive we had ever had at a Best Western. Nicely displayed, full platters, nothing looked like it had been there for hours. In talking to the dining room staff, we learned they have won numerous awards including #1 in British Columbia and #3 in North America. We were not surprised! (She noted that was as high as they could go as the other two have on-sight restaurants which they do not.)

This is my second stay at this hotel in the last week and each time I've been amazed at just how friendly and helpful the staff are. It's like I'm visiting a luxury hotel where my every request is attended to. Add to that the fact that the rooms are in top shape and well appointed, and this is simply a great little hotel in a fun little town.

We recently stayed overnight as we were in town for the theatre. Although we booked a few days ahead, we got the very last room which was a handicap room. When we checked in, the room wasn't quite ready so they invited us to have a seat in the lobby and they served us lovely cookies and our choice of beverages. 10 minutes later we entered our bright, large, well equipped room. Within 20 minutes we got a call asking if we needed anything and wishing us a happy anniversary. This is a hotel that is clean, has well trained, friendly staff and knows how to serve guests. The free breakfast in the morning is more than adequate and again the staff was terrific. One point to ponder: We didn't eat dinner before the theatre and when we exited, we drove around the town looking for a place to eat. It seems there is nothing after 9 pm. Perhaps the hotel would consider offering a small cafe for the starving masses in the late evenings??

We were impressed with the hotel when we first checked in...friendly staff, cookies, cleanliness, amenities etc.....until we got to the pool and the morning breakfast. The pool is very COLD and it starts at 3.5 feet...not good if you're travelling with little kids! The morning breakfast had a lot of nice options and was presented well...the problem was for a 75 room hotel only having 11 tables is ridiculous! Why they couldn't open the conference room to alleviate the congestion was explained to me that they had booked it for a conference and were unable to do that. When I complained I had the pleasure of meeting Shane the Asst Manager (?) as he was very apologetic. Still eating bacon and eggs etc while standing with a 3 yr old and a baby is not that easy. Yeah, I'd probably go back as this is the nicest hotel in the Cowichan Valley.

My husband and I were blown away by the amazing customer service we received at the hotel. Every staff member we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. This included housekeeping, reception and management. Also, the hotel is clean, modern and a very pleasant place to stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. We definitely recommend it and we will stay here when we next visit.

Excellent price with excellent amenities. very clean. Good breakfast and with a very competitive price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tried to stay there on our return journey from Victoria but was disappointed to find it full. 10 to 15 minutes walk into Chemainus (2 minutes drive. Chemainus itself is a really quaint and clean town/village with all the Muriel's covering the walls to investigate.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn for 3 nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were incredibly nice & helpful and all go out of their way to help in whatever you need. The breakfast that is served 'till 10:00 am is one of the best I've had with a great selection of sausage, bacon, eggs, waffles, pastries, etc. The rooms were spacious & very clean and although the air conditioner was a little loud, it's pretty much standard everywhere you stay in my opinion.

We stayed here last week, almost by accident because almost every other accommodation in the Cowichan Valley was sold out due to the Sunfest Country Musicfest. Shane and his staff are enthusiastic in their efforts to make our stay enjoyable. The free newspapers, cookies at the front desk, willingness to accommodate pets and spotlessly clean premises rally add to the experience. The complimentary breakfast is robust ... no tired muffins and bland coffee here but freshly and piping hot eggs, bacon, sausages, yogurt, granola, fruit and so on. We had to leave at 4 in the morning to catch a ferry and even at that time of night the light staff on duty had fresh coffee and a road bag filled with snacks at the ready. I grew up in the area and can confirm that you won't regret staying here. Cheers

Stayed for one night. The rooms are efficient in that they have a little kitchenette in the queen suite. Rooms could be a bit cleaner (floor by the fridge area). Not a big issue. The staff in all my travels (Europe in Oct for 6 weeks) have to be the nicest and happiest I have run across. The front desk is welcoming and knowledgable and even the hotel room servicing folks had a smile. The breakfast is way beyond what I have seen at a BW previously and I was impressed. The blond haired lady who runs this area ... one can tell she takes great pride in her work and her happy mood starts the day off right. Having a selection of papers (Globe/TC) is also a nice touch Good job folks. Maxx Comox..

We were pleasantly surprised to discover that staying at this hotel for 5 nights was a better experience than most hotel stays we've had. Why? Because while we have dealt with competent, friendly hotel staff before, the people who look after guests, from the front desk staff to housekeeping to breakfast room servers, seem genuinely happy and proud to work here, and this came through in spades whenever they interacted with us. Many award plaques dot the wall: now I know why. This is the first hotel I've also been to that offers free pet treats in the lobby along with free oatmeal and raisin and chocolate chip cookies to the human guests! Bright, clean, quiet, cheerful, and family-friendly, their included hot buffet breakfast is a great way to start your day.

For a quick getaway to see new places, we found this pet-friendly inn on Vancouver Island. What a treat! We were pampered, our 2-year old dog was spoiled and we saw some beautiful areas! Any question imaginable was not only answered but welcomed by the front desk staff! The housekeeping staff made us feel like we were their most important visit of the day! A variety of offerings started each morning with a hearty and yummy breakfast served by such friendly people! Our large suite was quiet, with a very comfortable bed, extremely well appointed with a perfect floor plan and made a perfect place to relax from a busy day and plan the next one! Location is not only extremely convenient to town, but easy to head north or south and visit all the neighboring communities. We loved it and were made to feel like special guests!

We were hoping for a couple of restful days on Vancouver Island, and both Chemainus and this Best Western Plus more than filled the bill. We were warmly and graciously greeted and pleasantly surprised with an upgraded room. The well-equipped kitchenette was a plus, and the room comfortable and quiet. The property was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was significantly better than average. The staff was friendly and helpful, and those warm cookies at the desk were delicious. We'll be back.

We were in a room on the 4th (top) floor of this very clean, quiet, and upscale ( for a BW ) hotel. The check-in was fast and friendly, the business centre was easy to use, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful- more variety than we've seen before. I would stay here again anytime I was in the area.

Chemainus used to be a mill town then when the mill closed it really-invented itself,but who knew you could find one of the best Best Western hotels or best of any other similar brand in this small town. I normally rate hotels well if they are clean, comfortable and friendly. This hotel has all of that and more. It starts with all the little things. Two suitcase racks in each room, real glasses, real plates at breakfast together with real cutlery. Three different coffees, pastries that taste like they are from a real bakery, strawberries and whipped dessert to top off the waffles. For motorcyclists there is a special parking spot complete with wash station. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager was in full evidence talking to guests. It also has a good pool, hot tub and exercise room. Highly recommended if you are travelling on Vancouver Island and need a good place to say.

Cancellation/ change policy NOT transparent. 2 night minimum stay NOT mentioned ANYWHERE on their website. BW refused to decrease booking from 2 to 1 night; Expedia didn't advocate. Expedia told me when I called that yes, I had called in the right time to have a FREE cancellation or change HOWEVER, the only change they COULD NOT DO is go down to 1 night, since BW has a 2 night minimum booking policy that is stated NOWHERE.. They simply said had I booked for 1 night only, then they would have known it was a 2 night minimum. However, having booked 2 night initially, i was NOT informed that I could change anything EXCEPT decrease to 1 night. With the amount of fine print you have to go throught, when something like a 2 night minimum in the summer months is not stated explicitly, it is frankly deceptive. And then when they refuse to do anyting about it.

just north of Victoria - seems like new property - very professional and helpful staff and the room was a terrific surprise wrt its size and had a kitchenette which we didn't expect. Very clean as one would expect from BW. Staff directed us to good local eateries and suggested unique things to do.

Excellent hotel to stay at while attending the Chemainus Theatre presentation. Five minute walk to the show and rooms extremely clean and staff efficient and friendly. The package that is offered in conjunction with the Chemainus buffet and theatre a great get away. The hotel breakfast has plenty of choices. Good value.

Nicely appointed room, small fridge & coffeemaker. Loved the make-up mirror in the bathroom. Very firm bed - a bit hard on the back. Woken early by truck traffic. Breakfast was included. Great location as 1hr north of Victoria ferries & nearby to Saltspring & Thetis Islands and a 2 minute drive to the famous Chemainus murals.

Very clean, comfortable beds, Friendly, professional staff. Great value. Impressed by the breakfast selection which was included with the price. Checked out the pool and hot tub. Again very clean and in good condition. Would stay here again when travelling in the Cowichan Valley.

This is a hotel what other hotels should aspire to! On the outside it was clean and tidy, and the grounds were beautifully manicured. There was even a special parking spot for motorcycles...and a hose and bucket were provided for washing even! We noticed a water bowl for dogs at the entrance...'always nice to see caring touch like that. The staff are friendly and attentive, while being professional and efficient. Their breakfast service is the best I've ever seen at a Best Western hotel. Real china plates and metal cutlery are a classy touch, as well as being environmentally friendly. My vegetarian sister was able to find plenty of veg-friendly offerings. If my travels ever bring me to this area again, I will DEFINITELY stay here again!

Excellent in all regards. Quiet, clean and has a pool and fitness center. Right across the street from a golf course and not far from downtown. Offers in house massage therapy (must book) and tours of the world famous Chemanius murals.

The entire staff at this hotel was professional and friendly. The grounds, lobby and dining area were extremely clean. The free breakfast was outstanding. Our room was delightful with a cute little separate bedroom. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

First of all we can't say enough about the friendly staff at this hotel, from check in to housekeeping, they all made us feel welcome and were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had the one bedroom suite with a sofa bed. It had a kitchen area which had basic kitchen supplies, dishwasher and fridge. We had our dog with us and this is a very pet friendly hotel. They supplied 2 dishes, dog blanket and treats for our dog. Very nice touch. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean, the A/C worked very well. There was a boil water advisory in Chemainus while we were there, we were informed right away by posting around the hotel and by a letter slipped under the door. Able to get extra water bottles for our use or for the dog. Buffet Breakfast was really good, lots of different choices and they have a waffle machine, my grandson loved making his waffles every morning. We would stay here again and I will be telling family and friends.

We have stayed here 5 times over a span of 6 years and each time we are very satisfied with our room,staff,breakfast and overall experience.We would highly recommend this hotel .The location is perfect for us as we have relatives in Chemainus.

This Best Western, is close to all the things, you might want to do in Chemainus. Walk to the golf course; walk to 1892 pub; walk to live a theatre production. The staff are lively, and engaged. the breakfast buffet is over the top: what a selection. And the rooms: they are large; furnished very well; all the "trappings" of home- you will love the sleeping accommodations.

We searched for a facility for a small (36 pers.) private wedding reception, and requiring 9 rooms. The Chemainus Best Western Inn agreed to accommodate us. We couldn't have chosen a better place! From Management down to kitchen help, we received professional, courteous, helpful and wonderfully friendly service. The guests in our party were from both Canada and Denmark and every single person confirmed the comfort and spaciousness of the suites, and the friendly and helpful staff. If you have a small function in the afternoon/evening, we couldn't recommend Shayne and his crew more highly!

We have been staying at this hotel ever since it opened (10Years) and have always had a first class experience in every way. I would highly recommend it. This last visit, I was really pleased that they had decided to keep bacon on the breakfast menu!

Was in Nanaimo with my wife for a family event and we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and great room provided at the Chemainus Inn. Great breakfasts, pleasant and helpful staff, with great amenities and clean and spacious rooms.

This hotel is first rate and I would have given it a 10 if I could. We've travelled all over North America and I can honestly say I have never met such a happy, helpful and friendly bunch of people as the management and staff at the Best Western in Chemainus. Peter, the General Manager, and Shane, the Front Desk Manager, bent over backwards in order to accommodate us when we booked for one week and then wanted to extend our stay for over a month. This was no easy feat considering June is one of their busiest months, and we are very grateful to them. We've got to know most of the staff and we feel like we're staying with friends rather than in a hotel. The rooms are spacious, modern and very comfortable; the queen suites have a kitchenette and everything you need to prepare a meal if you don't feel like eating out. Their complementary breakfast is consistently the best we have had in any hotel, with a good selection of hot and cold items, and everything is very fresh. There is a good size swimming pool and hot tub plus an exercise room. The hotel is pet friendly, and there's a nice walk on a rail trail beside the golf course across the street, as well as a couple of parkettes right behind the hotel. The town of Chemainus is a five minute walk from the hotel. Chemainus is well known for its beautiful murals and also the Chemainus theatre which has some very good shows. The town doesn't have a great selection of restaurants for an evening meal, but a short drive up the highway will bring you to Ladysmith where I would recommend the Fox and Hounds Pub. Drive a little further and try the Crow and Gate, an authentic Sussex English pub with lovely gardens and outside tables. You can't beat the food and ambiance, but get there early because it's a very popular spot.

There is nothing better to hear when you are checking into a hotel than you have been upgraded. We were pleasantly surprised, travelling with my sister, it was a great end to a nice day. This hotel staff work together to make everything really nice. The checkin was smooth, the breakfast was delicious, well presented and offered a lot of variety. Checkout was smooth, no challenges. I would have stayed two nights, but only planned for one.

We were upgraded to a King Suite as we are loyal Best Western guests. The room felt very much like a modern one-bedroom apartment, with all the amenities. The breakfast was the best we've ever had at a Best Western Hotel - or any other similar-sized chain hotel. Bravo to the management for thinking outside the box for the breakfast wrap and the freshness of the offerings!

Excellent hotel for our group. Great breakfast. Rooms very comfortable. Hotel was in walking distance to the heart of the town. A brew pub was across the street from the hotel and served excellent food and beverages.

One of the best places to stay on the island. Front desk service always five star. Great breakfast every time. The suites are so roomy and bright, always clean and so comfortable. Some rooms have balconies. Walking distance to Chemainus.

I travelled to many cities in the world often staying at high end hotels and boutique properties. I know what it's like to enjoy the services and standards of these 4 diamond rated hotels and have come to expect that wherever I travel. This property ranks high on my list and could easily be ranked alongside some of the highest raging properties. Don't let the brand fool you. I've been to this hotel many times and every visit I'm met with friendly professional staff, a clean environment and the comforts of home since the rooms have kitchenettes and all the amenities you need. All details are accounted for right up to the dog bones and embroidered towels set in the lobby for the little 4-legged friends that might accompany their owners. The hotel hosts everyone from sports teams to theatre goers (they have a theatre package) to couples to families and everyone is well looked after. Set in a charming community this is a super find and I highly recommend it to anyone. The best news is that it's easy on the budget offering what I would deem as good value for the money. Breakfast and parking are included and there are an indoor pool, laundry and plenty outdoor green space. Outstanding. I love coming here.

When I complimented the young staff member what a great breakfast on our second morning statement was "The last thing about the hotel stay guests remember is the breakfast: How true although there were no other complaints either. We were there for my husbands funeral, not exactly the most fun thing but the staff made us feel so welcome and the breakfast rates as one of the best we have had.

The Best Western Plus on Chemainus turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The room was one of the nicest hotel rooms we have stayed at in a long time. We loved the feel of it, as it was broken into separate rooms, so it felt like a real home. I could stay there for a few months! The swimming pool and hot tub were lovely and the breakfast buffet was excellent with a great selection of hot and cold fare. The other great thing is the location. It's just close enough to Chemainus to walk the distance without being in the hub. The association with the local theatre is great too, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We loved the movie posters in the hallways. We would highly recommend this hotel. The windows open too, which is a big bonus.

We had a very pleasant stay under short but extreme family circumstances. Great staff and service made us feel comfortable and at home. Very clean rooms, excellent wi-fi and breakfast offerings. Quaint township with lots to see, good food at the Old Mill Restaurant.

We were upgraded to a corner suite with all the modern amenities. Breakfast had quite a variety of items. Loved the cedar smell of during our morning walk. The town is within walking distance. For theatre buffs there are 4 shows remaining. FOOTLOOSE is coming in June 10. I believe there are packages available so check it out.

Nice clean hotel, comfortable bed and pillows & friendly staff. Great hot breakfast with waffles eggs and sausage or bacon, fruit, cereal, multiple types of coffee, yogurt, toast, pastries, etc. Room included kitchenette and seating area and bed separated by sliding doors.

We stayed in a suite on the 5th or 6th floor. It was bright, clean and nicely equipped with amenities. They offer breakfast as part of the cost and the food was quite good and the dining area was neat and well managed. The only down side was the elevator shaft vented the smell of fresh cooked bacon from the ground floor into our room and floor around 6:30 in the morning. If you are vegan or a vegetarian you might be offended by it.

Very clean, quiet, a little out of town but walking distance from all interests. Great breakfast that stretched over several hours. Lovely clean swimming pool and hot tub. Exercise room included. Hot and cold drinks available throughout the day and night. Oh so comfortable. A very memorable experience.

Well located, well run and well kept property with easy access from the Highway but far enough off it to have perfect solitude. The Town of Chemainus is a beautifull, small and very artistic one with many excellent murals on building sides and frontages. Perfect place to wander and enjoy.

My fiance and I stayed in Chemainus for my Birthday as well as a little bit of R&R. Our room was great the only downside I would say is that their check out time is really early. We over slept and had to be out almost immediately. We thought about staying but, we had other affairs that came up and sadly couldn't. However, the staff was really nice and did give us the extra time to get our things ready. We had a great time! Just wish your check-out time was at least 12 noon or 1pm.

From check in to check out 2 days later we were impressed with this property. The complimentary breakfast was the best I have ever had in terms of Choice,quality,presentation and duration of service.. Complimentary newspapers (local,provincial and national) were also greatly appreciated. My wife raved about the fact that although we didn't bring her dog there were towels to wipe dog paws, dog treats and water out for any that did.have a pet. The location in Chemainus was well signed from the highway and located directly across the street from the Horseshoe Bay Pub which werved a very excelllebnt dinner at reasonable cost.

We picked the Best Western in Chemainus because of its proximity to the Chemainus Theatre. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, the rooms were great, complete with fridge, lots of glasses, comfortable beds, etc. The continental breakfast was a definite surprise. The best selection we have ever had. I would definitely recommend staying here the next time you are looking for a room in Chemainus.

Nice clean, quiet hotel in Chemainus area. Not a bad location and lots of parking. Even in a room next to the elevator, the room was quiet and comfortable. Don't forget to try to complimentary breakfast area - good selection of basics and the area is kept wonderfully clean.

Hotel has a wonderful breakfast. Spotless rooms. Wonderful staff. The package of hotel and Chemanius Theatre makes a wonderful get away. Highly recommend adding the buffet dinner at the theatre before the performance. Hotel is a 10 minute walk away or there is lots of parking nearby.

I have stayed here a few times and it has never been anything else but clean and tidy with a very professional staff. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed. The parking area is close to the entrance.

We have stayed in many Best Westerns in many different areas in Canada & USA. This one was by far the finest of all of them. We expected a hotel room, but had been given a suite with separate bedroom, and kitchenette with a dishwasher. The breakfast was incredible. Never have had such a variety of food.

Spent a week traveling around Vancouver Island south and stayed in three Best Western Plus properties. Our stay in Chemainus was the best with wonderfull staff, a great breakfast and enjoyable hot tub/pool.

I purchased for my husbands birthday, a package deal from Chemainus Theatre, for live event- Ring of Fire (tribute to Johnny Cash). Included was a fabulous Buffet Dinner at the theatre, 1 night accomodation at the Best Western, and breakfast at the Best Western. This was one of the nicest Best Westerns we have ever stayed in. We had a beautiful suite with kitchenette, and separate bedroom. Breakfast was included, and it was one of the best we have ever had at any Best Western. Everything was great, and it was a fabulous weekend,

This is a great hotel. From check-in, to check-out, the stay was pleasurable. The room was nice and useful as we had a suite with a kitchenette. This hotel has a complimentary breakfast feature which had everything from toast to home-made waffles. The lobby is nice and welcoming and they even have treats out for your dog (if you have one)

My daughter and I had the most amazing time! We were given a present for one of the Chemainus packages. Dinner show and hotel. Extremely good price for what you get. The Best Western have the best staff, friendly, accomodating, very clean. My favorite part is waking up in the morning and going for their continental breakfast. You can even go in your housecoat if you wish! I recommend this little getaway! Very relaxing and enjoyable. Melinda and Nicole

On March 29 we had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful place. After our recent negative experience of Ramada Victoria, this place is a breath of fresh air. Spotlessly clean, spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff and lovely amenities. This hotel has a lovely indoor pool and hot tub and offer a free breakfast as well. The breakfast is probably the best hotel breakfast we have ever had, offering scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh cubed potato hash row s, a waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit etc. we have stayed here before and will definitely stay again! We will definitely recommend it to friends and family!

The property is wonderful with a clean parking lot and flowers. The front desk folks are super helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and stocked with high quality towels and soaps. The hypo-allergenic pillows are wonderful. The salt water swimming pool has been very nice to our skin. The pub across the street has good beer and food.

Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Good choice of items for the breakfast buffet , Breakfast room can be very crowded at peak times, however the staff were very pleasant and restocked the buffet items promptly.

Five star rating. You won't go wrong staying here and a must see to the Chemainus Dinner Theater. Great food and top notch shows. The Breakfast at the Hotel is excellent. This is one Hotel that cares.

We stay at the Best Western whenever we are in Chemainus. The staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and cheerful. They go out of their way to ensure your satisfaction with all aspects of the stay. The rooms are clean and spacious. The buffet breakfast in the morning is nothing short of excellent. Very good value for the price.

We stayed at the Best Western as part of the Chemanius Theatre package. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The free breakfast offers many choices. I appreciated the cut-up fruit choice. When I told the kitchen staff that the fruit was low, she quickly replenished it. Since we stayed Friday night, the breakfast room was full and we had to wait for an empty table. We had never stayed on a weekend before, and this may explain why the breakfast room which is quite large was busy.

It's a great place to stay for business, or family with/without pets. The room was very bright and clean, and in a good size. We had two queen size bed with no kitchen and the room did not feel crowded even with three huge comfortable chairs, a chest drawer, a size table, and a night stand. The building did not have the smell of fresh paint nor the hundred-year-old-mould smell. Breakfast was delicious and wonderful. Many choices between scrambled eggs, bacons, harsh browns, waffles, toast, bagels, muffins, 3 different kinds of cereals, 3 different kinds of juice, great varieties of tea bags, coffee, yogurt... And more! All included in the price of the room! If you have a pet staying with you in the room, you don't have to worry about bringing your pet's bowls. They have two huge dog bowls and a blanket ready in the room and that is very thoughtful of them doing that. By the entrance is a small side table. The towels on the table beside the dog treats is brilliant! Wiping your dog after a walk in the wet weather before walking through the lobby into your room, to prevent muddy dog prints and muddy splash everywhere from the dog shaking off the mud or water. I love this place and will definitely go back the next time we are in the area!

Nice hotel, good location, good breakfast! Arrived early morning but got the room straight away which was nice! Friendly staff and right off the highway but close to town as well which makes it all very accessible. Nice restaurant across the road too!

Planned this weekend getaway last minute and was happy they were so absolutely accommodating to provide us a suite facing the water. Granted there were a few trees in the way but it was still a great view! Props to the Front Desk agent on the morning after check-in for helping find product for a bubble bath in the amazing bathtub in our room! It was definitely a relaxing stay and I appreciated the kindness of all staff throughout the weekend. I also appreciated that they were able to give us a late check-out so that we could go for a dip their salt-water pool prior to leaving.

Best Westerns are always good........rarely have I had an unhappy experience at any BW. Always easy to find, modern and very well organized.......and often ideally located. Our experience with BW rewards program has also been especially beneficial.

This place was a lucky find. From the moment we arrived, we could see that this was no run-of-the-mill Best Western, it was special. We were warmly welcomed by the Manager (who is from Liverpool, U.K.) and given an upgrade which turned out to be a spacious suite. The place was quiet, very clean, and obviously well run. The breakfast was bountiful and there was coffee to go. The manager apologized to us because the pool was being serviced so wasn't available. Its not that often you find this much attention to detail.

I am a local and am also a customer of this hotel. I use the pool and gym facilities on a daily basis and I stayed here the night of my bachelorette party. The front staff are amazing , always super helpful ! Hotel is spotless and our guest room with the balcony was beautiful. Great continental breakfast, who doesnt love bacon ? Do yourself a favour and stay at the nicest hotel in the cowichan valley and visit cute little Chemainus !

Clean, spacious hotel with a super attentive staff who recommend local attractions. Left behind an article of clothing with sentimental value; called on return home and they not only had it but mailed it back the same day.

I have stayed here many times as it is quite, clean, and well appointed, nor many negative items unless you get here when a hockey tournament is on and party parents show up. Only happened once. Management is now enforcing unruly partyers and tossing them out.

A good hotel except for the breakfast, the latter being your typical carb-fest. This hotel is by far the best available in that part of Vancouver Island, even AirBnB has scant options. The hotel is quiet and clean.

Great place to stay, very enjoyable.room configuration is excellent . especially when entertain guests. The breakfast is one of the best that we have found both in terms of hot and cold items. Will certainly be return in the Spring

Stayed at this hotel with our hockey club. The service was better than a lot of the five star hotels I stay at. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast was fantastic when compared to other hotels offering a similar service. Of course we used the pool, hot tub and weight room; all of which were decent. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

Wonderful pool and fitness facility. Excellent spacious rooms - I actually held a business meeting in mine. A decent breakfast with lots of choice is provided and there is a restaurant/pub across the street for other meals. The hotel is within easy walking distance to town.

This hotel is just of the hi-way south and close to almost everything on the southern end of Vancouver Island. Newer hotel with a great staff. Room had a good view and very clean. Good wireless internet. Better than most Best Westerns

Bathroom: has a deep soaking tub, hair dryer, and four sets of towels which is greatly appreciated along with the soaps and shampoo and conditioner. Closet: two suitcase holders, ironing board, iron, hangers, safe, extra bedding. Bedroom, it is in its own enclosed area with pocket doors. Queen bed, four pillows, two night stands with lamps. With the location of the bed within its own room, this provides for a most welcome night's sleep as it is quieter and darker. There is a desk with chair, a chest with three drawers, a small table with two chairs, another three drawer chest, padded chair, fold out couch, coffee table, small fridge with three shelves and a small freezer within the fridge. The fridge does have a lot of room to accommodate the supplies we stored for the three days we were there. There is a two element counter top stove, Keurig coffee pot, there are all the necessities for cooking plus the dishes and cutlery required. There is also a microwave, toaster, kettle and dishwasher. A dishwasher tab is supplied along with an esso scrubbing pad and dish soap. There are two regular coffee pods and two decaf coffee pods for the Keurig machine. The suite has two televisions. There is one to watch in the living room area and one to watch hanging in the hall across from the bedroom. The hotel has an elevator. There is a well-equipped gym on the first floor. The swimming pool was down for repairs when we were there. There are two top loading washers ($2.00) and two dryers ($1.50). Laundry soap is available in the vending machine for purchase (1.50) and dryer sheets for (1.50). There is a large selection for breakfast so if you leave hungry, that would be the issue of the traveler and not the hotel or staff. This hotel is very clean and this is something I greatly appreciate from the outside of the hotel and right from when one walks in through the doors and to their room. The laundry room, gym, etc., are all clean. The wonderful ladies did an excellent job of taking care of our room. The staff are very polite and helpful which only added to the enjoyment of the hotel. The front line staff that welcomed and checked us in and greeted us daily were great. The hotel is quiet.

We have stayed at this property 3 times now and always the same standards that we expect. The grounds and rooms are spotless because they have staff that know what they are doing when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. The pool and hot tub area is also a plus and we enjoy the fact that it is a mineral pool!

I have to admit this is one of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed at. The reception was warm and cheerful. We were upgraded to a suite which was very nice. the hotel was clean and modern plus a great location in Chemainus. There was a great gym, pool and hot tub and the included breakfast was superb!

We stayed in a pet friendly room and they sure do cater to the pets. When you enter the hotel lobby there are clean towels for paws, "bathroom" bags and cookies, then in the room is a bed, food bowls and treats:) Aside from the pet friendly aspect, after only 15 minutes or so of checking in they called the room to make sure it was up to our standard. They have great kitchenettes that cover all the bases and a free breakfast that is great!! Not to mention the staff, both front desk and cleaning were so friendly. This was our third time staying here and look forward to the next time!

Excellent place to stay. Very clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Stayed in a pet friendly room. We were greeted at the door with welcome treats and more in the room as well as a bed and dish for the dogs. Nice touch. The best breakfast is here and included with your stay.

If you are travelling with a team or for a team event this hotel is fantastic as they cater to families. This is the second time staying at this property and this trip was much better in the fact that there was not a faulty heating system in our room and our room was quiet. Confirm your reservation before you go. When I had booked this property I specifically requested a corner suite like the one I had the year before. I even questioned the booking agent as the price seemed a little less than what I was expecting. I was assured our booked room was the same style suite as the previous year. Upon check in I found I was not in a corner suite as expected and an error had been made with our reservation. We were not able to change our room as the hotel was full. The room we had was great just not as big as the one the previous year. The hotel bed was very comfortable however the pullout couch needed a new mattress as you could feel the springs through the mattress (yes, I learned this the hard way by actually sleeping on it.) One of the best parts of our room is the full kitchen with dishwasher, cutlery, fridge, and stove. This is nice for families like us who travel a lot and just want to be able to make a sandwich for the kids or serve appetizers and wine with friends like we do. The kids loved the pool and I loved the equipment room which allowed me to dry hockey gear in another place other than our suite. Thank heavens for that! The staff also booked the dining area for our team to have a pizza party which the whole team loved. My only feedback would be to have more staff on in the morning when the mad breakfast rush is occurring. There were quite a few hungry kids waiting a long period of time for hot food items to be filled for the complimentary breakfast. It was a good 30 minutes before more eggs and sausages came out and for a hungry little hockey player that can be too long. I really do enjoy this hotel and the staff are really amazing at dealing with the volume of travellers. I would recommend this property all of my friends.

Not only was the reservation staff wonderful but so was the check in ,dining and room cleaning staff!!! So happy we booked a night there. The room ( 302) faced the mountains. Our unit had a mini kitchen. Chocolates on our bed. Comfy robes etc. Breakfast was full, and while self serve, had waffles , eggs ,bacon, sausage as well as the usual cereals, pastries etc. So impressed!!! Would recommend this !! Only sorry I forgot my bathing suit! Very close to Chemainus theater.

This is a very nice hotel for the "Little Town That Did" to quota Pierre Burton. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy.The breakfast was included and good quality and well stocked. The staff are helpful and friendly. I would recommend a stay this hotel.

We have stayed here 4+ times since having kids (have 2 kids under 3) and all stays have been superb. Staff are very friendly to the kids and it's so convenient to have the 2br suite option with an actual kitchen to make food and keep snacks for the children. Breakfast gets repetitive but it's hard to beat the price (included with the room!) and the convenience of being able to eat right away when the kids wake up at 7am! They have a pool which the kids loved and made for a nice activity on rainy days. Certainly not a bustling town and not much in the way of "walkable" attractions nearby. There is a hotel just across the street that has a decent cafe/restaurant that does take-out so we'd often get lunch or dinner from there when we didn't want to cook in the room (there's no restaurant in the Best Western). There is also a little liquor store across the road which is handy when you just want to grab a cheap bottle of wine for the room. All-in-all a great place to stay as a "home base" when traveling with kids.

Returned to this hotel having good memories from last time.few years ago.This time we liked hotel even better.Rooms are big,well decorated,clean ,everything was so inviting.Extra helpful staff,great breakfast and what a treatment for our dog,special blanket,dish ,treats.Not to mention swimming pool,hot tub and gym.Real treat to stay in here,will come back again,close to all attraction in town.

Hotel is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is good. Internet was a good connection. They do have pool and fitness facility on site. Negatives for me was TV listings selection was limited and location is ok but limited for nearby restaurants (location across street is ok but not great place to sit and relax while having beer and watch a game on tv)

I stayed at this hotel December 10 2015 and received excellent service from checking in to checking out.Staff was very help full.Nice big rooms with separate bed room and outside balcony.Very quite and peace full sleep.They have a hot breakfast buffet and also grab and go breakfast which will be ready for you per your request if you are leaving before 7 a.m.Nice fitness centre.

The staff were as nice and welcoming as any I've come across. I've traveled a lot. The staff were dealing with a rather difficult and busy "hockey team" weekend but remained professional and patient. The kids were just being kids but I will never be able to understand why the parents and chaperones in these situations tend to be so rude to the staff and other guests. Nobody thinks they shouldn't be there but it would sure be nice if they were friendly, polite, helpful toward the staff. It would sure be nice if they ensured that their children behaved appropriately for the situation. E.G. Leave the hockey games at the rink. Don't bring them into the hallways of the hotel. Keep the kids in the rooms that you are renting. I don't want them playing outside my room door, thank very much! And good manners are taught. It is a parents job to teach basic consideration for others and good manners. (I'm hoping other parents will read this and teach their children well.) Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about this Best Western in Chemanius and the staff. My room was well appointed and well laid out. Just lovely. Thank you.

From the tray of cookies at the front desk upon arrival to the comfortable lounge area in the lobby, you will feel welcome! Excellent continental breakfast and all day coffee & tea available. Friendly caring staff. I am looking forward to my next stay!

This is the second time in the past year we have stayed at this hotel and have found the services, rooms and staff exceptional. Would recommend this to our friends when visiting the island. It is a great place to visit the theater from, convenient to the golf course and a very friendly place..

With our friends we booked two rooms as every year for the Christmas play at Chemainus Theatre. Suites were very clean and even the elevator looked and smelled clean - wow. Front desk staff were friendly, but the standout customer service was in the breakfast room - Jennie and Ashley were very busy, but met people with a smile and a "good morning." There was no lack of food or coffee in this bustling atmosphere. All in, a lovely experience (and a great play!) Way to go Best Western Chemainus.

Room was large and very clean, with a kitchenette area as well, and was a very nice room. Bedroom was separate from the TV area and a good bed. It is right in Chemainus, and also a short drive from the ferry to Salt Spring Island.
