    « Good and average »

Useful hotel and dog friendly. Rooms clean, large but quite boring in style. Everything worked though, and bed comfortable. Reception very friendly, but not over knowledgable of hotel or local area. Health club has great jacuzzi and sauna. Steam room not quite hot enough, but strangely there is no shower to rinse off after sauna before the pool etc. Good facility to have at the hotel. Breakfast was very good. Evening meal was carvery only which was disappointing. It was done well though. No paper offered at check in. Above average ... just. ... and mainly because of helpful staff.

    « Family Reunion »

We were here for a family reunion including children and it was great. Very convenient location for family travelling from different parts of the country. Our room was spacious with a bathroom with bath and shower over and was very quiet. The hotel was very well staffed and without exception they were helpful and courteous and able to accommodate last minute requests - for example for a gluten free meal. In fact there was an excellent choice. Breakfast buffet was also excellent and very fresh. We thought they were very well organised when we contacted them in advance to arrange the weekend and we weren't disappointed on the day. This was our fourth visit and possibly the best so far.

    « Lacking atmosphete »

Arrived in the dark left in the dark. Checkin ok, room good spacious big bed. Very clean and tidy. Decent size car park and a leisure club. Bar area ok and food was nice and seemed freshly prepared. Service was good. Breakfast buffet style and again very good. Check out no problem. All the staff seemed foreign and not from the same country it all seemed a little weird. English was the common language but not the favoured. As English was a second language to all the staff they just didn't speak to each other. The place just seemed lifeless and lacked any atmosphere. Don't get me wrong the place is spotless hence the score but lifeless.

« Decent chain hotel - ideal for an overnight »

Quiet tidy chain hotel. The room was large and clean with a very big bed ( even if it was two beds joined together) although it was very comfortable. The room was very dark with the curtain closed which is always a bonus for a light sleeper, The bathroom was small but clean with the usual toiletries. The shower was nice and hot and very powerful. The usual teas and coffees were offered but there as no iron and ironing board and the one provided by the very helpful staff was not a steam one. The staff were very friendly and cheerful and it looks like the leisure facilities were very good. We stayed for one night for a local wedding and found everything in order. A decent, if unspectacular, middle of the road chain hotel

    « Average at best »

Checked in, friendly staff, very dark over reception desk hard to see your registration card. Bedroom 36 freezing cold on arrival, although once we found heater was ok. The room very dark and poorly lit. Oddly for such an already dark room, dark colours were used for the decor. TV provided could not receive any channels at all. However room and bathroom were clean, but in keeping with the rest of the hotel, very dated. Bought a drink from the bar, which needed a polish, the bar itself very sticky. Now the barman was straight out of Fawlty Towers, I asked for a fizzy water with ice, he did not know the word fizzy, he offered tap water, and when the penny dropped he just handed me a sealed bottle of sparkling water, after a lot of explaining he realised he had to put it in a glass with ice! Leisure club very good, nice pool and jacuzzi, good to see they give you towels down there a keep the place clean. In summary a clean hotel, that does just the job and no more, in need of updating and some staff training.

    « great breakfast »

Nice large king sized room. Usual toiletries in the good sized bathroom. We were foxed by the vagaries of switching on the tv had to ring reception to do it for us and spent about 15 mins trying to do it the next morning. Nice freshly cooked buffet breakfast and the waiting staff and reception staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

    « Great for a Stopover »

Good size room with a comfortable king size bed and the room was spotless. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. A reasonable breakfast but the choice was limited. The hotel is situated about a mile from the centre of Buckingham.

My daughter, son-in-Law and grand-daughter stayed there, and we ate in their restaurant in the evening. Whereas my daughter was impressed with the health suite facilities (in itself enough to ensure she makes a return visit!) and the size etc of their room, we were all delighted at the menu offered, the wine selection and the attentive service in the restaurant. Many hotel restaurants are a bit mediocre - this was certainly an exception. As I only live a short distance away, I'll be back there for a few more dinners.

« Useful stop for Silverstone and Stowe House »

Very corporate in feel - some staff absolutely excellent others less so. We paid a lot extra for the upgraded "suite" £156 a night b and b - which had little to offer over the standard rooms apart from more space and a sleigh bed and sofa. All a bit dark and businesslike. No goodies or little touches. Swimming pool area was ok although the all the patio windows need replacing as they are clouded. Steam room was out of order, sauna was ok. Public sitting area was full of local council event when we arrived - Restaurant - some staff were just unprofessional, more interested in each other than their customers, others really helpful and keen. Food - breakfast staff were lovely and a good choice of food. A hot and cold help yourself buffet. Dinner - a creative chef well presented and cooked food - I had a wonderful steak one night. Good WI FI coverage. You can get a taxi from here to Silverstone - very stress free and they will pick you up after racing. Disabled - this hotel is all over the place in terms of levels - there is a disabled entrance but it is around the side of the restaurant. Reception is up steps - they will help with cases if you ask. Parking - again on various levels. Note reception floor level is the one to ask to have a room on if you want to avoid further going up and down but it is two floors down stairs to get to the leisure centre. If the charming manager can sort these niggles out this could move up in my estimation from average to good.

    « Ok ish »

Nice size room and the leisure facilities were brilliant. The hotel is. located on the edge of a busy road so not good for a light sleeper, also tea stains splattered up the wall and the room was very dark and cold when we entered luckily we found the thermostat and went for a swim while the room warmed up.

    « Clean and business »

An ok hotel for an overnite stay. It has a pool and gym which is a bonus and also the free wifi is good. Large bedroom with a good bed. All clean. I found the staff helpful. Well located on the A241 going through Buckingham.

    « Interesting place »

We went for an evening drink with Dad and Brother. Took someone a while to get to us....and then to find a table.... (they were all vacant). Took our drink order and then promptly disappeared. 25 min or so we inquired about the drink. They did not know anything of it. Repeated the order. Finally left about an hour later to the local pub. They are still looking for the order, I guess. Would return under certain different circumstances.

    « Would not return »

I won't be coming back here. The rooms and the hotel are very dark which made it feel quite depressing. The rooms are in desperate need of an update (and a good clean). The bathroom in my room was pretty grim, tiny showing space and the shower curtain kept sticking to me. The leisure facilities weren't bad, but there was a horrible stagnant smell in the changing rooms.

    « Weekday getaway »

I booked this hotel purely because of the leisure facilities as there were only 2 hotels I could find with those. I booked a 2 night midweek stay mon-wed. Hotel has a large car park and was nice inside rooms were big and spacious. Room has no drawers and I found this weird for certain things. We unpacked went down to the leisure centre to see a piece of paper on the notice boards once we were down there stating the spa isn't working nor is the steam room, I ask the leisure manager if this was correct and he said yes and the pool Is being used for children's swimming lessons but the sauna is ok???? We went in the sauna which was hardly even hot. Tried to go in the pool but between the swimming lessons parents around the side of the pool watching there was not enough room. We left really disappointed. I would have paid that little extra to go to another hotel with working facilities had I known I believe it would have more curtious had we been told prior to our arrival or even when we checked in I probably wouldn't have been so bothered but felt let down by this. Our spa break was not what we expected On a plus side the food in the hotel is nice well presented and main meals ranging from £12:50-£19 depending If it's a spa break your looking for make sure the facilities are useable. Apart from that hotel is clean and good for an overnight stay.

    « Comfortable Hotel »

Initially the hotel doesn't look overly inviting with the car park being the entrance really. Once inside the decor is a little dull, but the staff are super friendly and the room was comfortable for a night. Bar was rather limited although our night porter did serve up some excellent G&T's

    « Best Western Buckingham »

One night stay for business in the area. booked this hotel because of the facilities - gym and pool etc. the hotel is fine for a night's stay however it's somewhat dated and could do with a make over. Buffet breakfast is available but nothing too exciting. The town is about a 10 mins walk and I'd recommend you go there for dinner as there are a few nice little restaurants.

    « Work function »

Friendly and helpful staff always happy to support and answer questions. Lovely food - a good range to select from. Great room with a dance floor and entertainment provided. The event was slick and timing was excellent too. Very good service overall!

    « Great Hotel »

I have used this hotel a couple of times and will certainly use again. The fitness suite is wonderful, although did not get the oppotunity to use it this time around. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and there is a very pleasent walk from here into Buckingham.

    « Nice Experience »

Only stayed one night but our experience was very nice, all staff very helpful and polite, use of hotel facilities a nice bonus because we used the swiming pool, room quite even though the hotel is on the main A421, breakfast was lovely, could,nt ask for more

    « Great Stay »

Great stay at this hotel, receptionist was very friendly, checked us in and signed us up to BW loyalty programme. Points added straight away for our stay. Large room with massive bed, bath and good shower. Breakfast was self service but everything you need, plus they had tea urn! Perfect cup of tea to start the day.

    « Unhelpful »

In our opinion the booking system had a glitch and we ended up with two rooms. We were cherged for both. The management were very unhelpful. BE CAREFULL! Situated on a very busy road difficult to access if turning right.

« Dog friendly travelled with our Pug »

Visiting family in Padbury and wanted somewhere we could take our dog.Easy check in room spotless considering dogs allowed and a ground floor room.Comfortable beds nice terrace to sit out and have a drink with our pup and some ground to walk him.good breakfast we had to eat in relays but not a problem. we did not have time to use any of the facilities. Dog slept all night and behaved impeccably. only qualm charged £10 for dog but nothing provided fine for a short stay

    « Very Friendly Hotel »

We stayed at the Best Western in Buckingham last week, we stayed for two nights. The manager and staff were great, all very friendly and very helpful. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self service, from fruit juice to full english. We had a meal in the restaurant one evening, fantastic food and the waiter was very attentive. We highly recommend this hotel and we will be returning again sometime soon!

    « It was OK »

Reception etc was good although anyone with walking difficulties would have had problems getting that far. The room had a large comfortable bed but the bathroom was a problem. There was very low water pressure with poor water flow at the toilet, sink and shower. The swimming pool is good by hotel standards. The gym looked ok although I did not try it. I can't comment on the food as we were room only.

« Nice place to stay »

The hotel has a relaxing atmosphere, with many things included in the price. Gym, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi is all here, so you do not need to miss out on a training schedule when away from home. The food is fresh and welcoming with a decent size restaurant. I am sure I shall be visiting again when in the area.

« Friendly, clean and nice staff »

Nice hotel, clean throughout, friendly staff. Pricey in the restaurant & bar, but couldnt complain for the short time i stayed. Am stayinh here again in october so look forward to my stay. Good parking too.

    « One night stop »

Visiting Silverstone Classic Saturday/Sunday. Friendly staff at check in. Room was large with super king bed(two singles together). I thought the mattress was a little soft. Tea/coffee making facilities. Hairdryer. The evening meal was extremely good and the breakfast served as a buffet was of good quality.

    « Good »

Don't stay if you are camera crew with lots of luggage no lift or trolleys and you have to go up to come down. Mad design. Staff helpful though and rooms showers etc ok. But close ish to Silverstone so useful for events.

« Good stay very welcoming »

Stayed with friends for a single night, the restaurant was good, rooms a little tired and in fact I think the toilet was left unflushed which is little unforgivable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and were very accommodating. I would stay again but I don't think it would be my first choice.

    « Ok hotel »

Hotel a little tired but our room was nice and large with a huge bed but we paid a lot for this. We were asked to move out of restaurant after breakfast as they needed to prepare for lunch which I thought was a bit unnecessary and I felt that we were being watched when choosing out breakfast incase we did something wrong. I was gutted they had run out of soya milk so could not have coffee for breakfast which is a must for me! Breakfast average but what you would expect at this sort of hotel.

« Not the best best western but great staff »

This is not the Best Best Western that I have stayed at whilst rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable the rooms could have really done with air conditioning it was quite unpleasant. The staff were all attentive and because of this I would recommend this hotel and I would return maybe not in the middle of summer but definitely when it is cooler

    « So Nearly Wonderful »

Let's start with the positive - the room we ended up in was superb. Large and spacious (except maybe a small, but adequate, bathroom). The double bed was actually 2 singles bolted together (as many are now), but it was comfortable enough. Very clean. The leisure facilities are also superb (except for the changing area, which is very small, and the showers, which seem to be hot only - not good after a sauna!). The pool is approx 13-14m long (good for a hotel) and there is a decent variety of cardio and strength machines (though nothing compared to a proper gym). The staff were also all very pleasant. Starting from our check-in to a problem with check-out and my BW gift card that needed a call to head office to sort out. Plenty of free and available parking on site too. A bit in the middle is that you really, really don't want a room that faces the main road, as it is noisy (about 50m away, at best). With no air con, you need to open the windows for air, which makes it too noisy. We had one of these rooms at first, but the check-in people managed to swap it for one with a much nicer view (and more importantly with much quieter). Wifi was free and worked in the rooms with no faff, but only a moderate signal strength, giving slow performance. The bad is that the breakfast isn't very good. Usual problems of no non-dairy choice of mile (soya, coconut, almond etc), which is really not good these days. Poor veggie options (again, as too many hotels fail on too). The bacon wasn't good (tasted as though it had been kept too long), the sausages were good, but not exceptional. Eggs were nicely fried and done just before needed out at the buffet, so excellent points for that. The cerial selection was poor (nothing healthy, just Kelloggs sugar added rubbish). Where's the porridge? And seeds/nuts etc to add to it. The grapefruit juice was good, but the orange was very cheap and nasty (and tasted watered down). But the unforgivable sin was poor coffee. An urn of pre-made (at some distant point in the past) of filter coffee is something that belongs in the 70s. Not good enough now. Restaurant was lacking in decent veggie options, so we didn't use it (and it was pricey). Beer in the bar was too expensive for a little country town (i.e. central London prices). Fix the breakfast, only use the rooms on the quieter south side and you'd have a superb offering (especially at the price).

« Could not fault it! »

We stayed at very expensive hotels during our stay in the UK - the Best Western is not cheap but it far upstaged any of the more expensive hotels - spotlessly clean, nice big bed, large room - fast Wifi - plenty of plugs..and the breakfast was really very good indeed..everything was freshly made - the scrambled egg was perfect. Congrats to Management - we will be back!

    « Stopover »

We used this hotel 2 years ago for a stopover between Warminster and Suffolk and found it ideal, perhaps the steps are not good for someone with mobility problems as I had to get everything in from the car. We made use of it again as it is ideally placed on the ring road of Buckingham and easy to find on our route. My husband is more disabled now and the steps were a bigger problem this time. The reception is really spacious and the whole feeling of the hotel is light and airy with reasonably attentive staff.

« Swimming pool is dirty »

The pool floor was filthy, changing rooms stank, cold water which is supposed to be heated. No baby change facilities. The sides of the pool were covered in mould AND the staff who half heartedly wipes the floor was using a towel which guests probably use. They need a jolly good clean up pronto.

    « Really nice hotel »

The room was very big and had a large bed. The gym was included in the room price and was ok, though the pool was closed when I visited. The room would have benefitted from air-con Bath was huge and bathroom very clean. I will definitely stay here again.

    « Fabulous Hotel »

Loved the fitness centre in this hotel, also the rooms are spacious and very clean, staff are very helpful and local town has great places to eat. Bister Village is not far for a wonderful place to shop

    « 2 night stay »

Good clean hotel reasonable pricing excellent breakfast. I booked breakfast via non BW site but this failed to materialise on booking. Would have liked better selection of beers at the bar. Rooms clean with tea/ coffee facilities.

« Good place to stay with your dog. »

Very nice experience with our small dog. Would recommend and would stay again. But would have been nicer if we were allowed in the bar area with our dog instead of being restricted to the public lounge area only which made eating dinner a bit public.

    « Not the best »

It's very tired and needs a update. There is little atmosphere. The service at night was fine, food wasn't, basic mistakes. Room was ok but that's about it, again just very 70's. Breakfast was ok, tried the leisure centre and nothing wrong with it.

« A pleasureable return visit following problematic stay in January »

This return visit following a very problematic stay in January gave us a view of how a hotel can change and improve over such a short time. The customer service was excellent, now nothing seemed too much trouble. The new front of house manager, Lee Burson, has helped make dramatic changes, especially in the restaurant. Both the quality of food and the service were fantastic. Lee also listened to our feedback on site and remedial actions were being put in place. I'm sure that these have already been implemented. I can honestly say that this is a great and relaxing place to stay and we will definitely be returning here again. Well done to all of you.

    « Overnight stay »

I stopped in a double room for the evening and it was exactly what I expected. Comfortable and quiet at night. I only gave it 4 out of 5 simply because there wasn't much for me to eat on the menu. The staff were all very polite and helpful and I would stay here again in the future

    « Needs updating »

Stayed here while my boyfriend was working, bed is comfortable but the rooms are very out dated. The hotel needs a refurb. Buffet breakfast is poor/average, the sausages are bizarre. Not a bad location to get to near by attractions such as the Bicester village outlet (approx 20min drive) Wouldn't stay here again.

    « Very comfortable hotel »

I stayed here for a couple of nights with a small group and we found the hotel clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was fine. I booked a single but my room had a large double bed and a nice bathroom with a bath. The free WiFi worked fine. I'd be happy to go back there.

    « Not great. »

Rooms good size and clean, There does not seem to be any interaction between the staff and customers. At breakfast not even a hello, good morning etc, even when clearing the table no communication at all. Was a very strange atmosphere never felt so uneasy in a hotel like I did here. At check out had to ask several times to print out my invoice, as receptionist said it was emailed to me, I don't think she could be bothered. And the plus side leisure facilities were great..

    « Too noisy »

Stayed overnight. Constant water pump noise turning on and off every minute throughout the nite ruined the visit. Otherwise was a good stay. Bed was very comfortable. Nice brekkie. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Plenty of easy car parking.

    « Nothing special »

Rooms decent and clean although dated. Some staff are excellent however no real guest standards here ie. some staff have no concept of service with a smile or even a simple hello or good evening. Some areas of the hotel are lacking in attention to detail. Closing on a positive the evening meals were very good although served in a not so customer focused manner.

« The look after you. »

Second time I've attended for a family event here, and once again it stands out for customer service. Although the bar staff need to smile more I can't fault them. Arrived early to check in which should have been at 2pm but the receptionist allowed us to get in at 12 to use the showered before our event, food was good for a Buffett and the service staff cleared up literally as you put your plate down. Evening meal was a three course carvery for £20 , would have preferred more of a choice on a Friday night but it didn't disappoint. The room was a family one and you could have got two families into it. Breakfast was help yourself all you can eat and was very good quality for a buffet style. If anything I would say the bar prices are a bit extreme but don't let this put you off and plenty of places to go in the local area if you don't stay in. Thank you best western for a great stay.

« great hotel and staff »

great hotel with everything you need for a great stay pool, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, steamroom the staff are very helpful and polite and breakfast is great ask for a room not to be near the garage as it is a bit noisey

    « I cannot fault it! »

An incredibly warm welcome upon arrival and the Hotel Manager Ali Briky helped us with local knowledge and such things as wifi. Rooms are larger than normal, very clean and fresh, also quiet. Restaurant offers excellent fare, food is top quality and waiting staff are attentive.

    « Spring Break »

We wanted to find a hotel close to Bletchley Park for a two night stay. Having read the Trip Advisor reviews we were not sure about booking this hotel. We decided it is what it is, i.e. a stopover hotel on a main road. In the end we were glad that we chose this hotel; We stayed in a superior room (massive) for the same price as a standard room in other Best Western hotels. The staff were all very friendly; the duty manager came to us for a friendly chat after dinner. We also met a regular business user who was very pleased with the hotel. The food was very good but not over elaborate and competitively priced. All in all we had an enjoyable stay.

« Great staff, nice town, loved the pool and spa »

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Buckingham over the weekend; we received the GREATEST welcome from Marine on the front desk, which immediately gave us a really positive impression of the hotel. We were allocated a quiet room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel; it was spacious and very comfortable. We visited the nearby (10 min drive) Stowe National Trust gardens during the day and were able to walk into Buckingham from the hotel in the evening to enjoy a superb meal at the Nelson St Restaurant - the walk took us through some pretty streets and through a park alongside the river. We used the pool, sauna, steam room and gym on the Sunday morning; some other reviewers have said the pool was small but we found it absolutely spot on. There's plenty of parking available, including at the rear of the hotel, and there are a couple of supermarkets nearby if you fancy breakfast - there's a bar and restaurant onsite though if you don't want to leave the hotel. The bathrooms are a little jaded with some peeling paint and slightly grubby sealings around the bath/shower area, but this is a minor negative. The staff are what really make this a good place to stay - special thanks to Marine and Marian the Romanian barman.

« Good hotel for short stay »

We stayed here to attend a sport event in the area. The hotel room was clean and functional and reception staff were helpful and polite. We didn't eat in the hotel as there were lots of nice pubs and restaurants in the immediate area. The wifi in the hotel was patchy. Overall we would stay in the hotel again if in that area as it was a good base to explore the local area.

    « Better than expected »

Good parking, large rooms. Beds very comfortable. Tired in bathrooms but everything very clean. Did not dine or have breakfast, so can't comment on f and b. Staff efficient and polite, requested iron and board, delivered to room in five mins. Bit noisy from traffic if you have window open. Tv was not working for some programming reason.

    « Relaxing friendly weekend »

Returned for a relaxing night following too much shopping. Staff throughout excellent. Of particular note was the selection of vegetarian food to choose from. Had a swim - not too crowded to enable good exercise- will definitely go back.

« All ok, noise of other guests spoiled a good stay! »

We had 2 rooms booked here for an overnight stay, paid a decent "sale" price which included breakfast. The rooms were fine, the hotel was quiet and nice and clean - very good first impressions. We all were happy with both the rooms - although the toilet did smell a little in our room, certainly not enough to complain about. The bed was nice and large, the rooms clean, tidy and warm. Breakfast was nice, with plenty of choice, hot and cold. Again no complaints here! The only complaint we had was noise of other guests during the night. My daughter had noise from 1am until 2.30am. She couldn't sleep during this time. We heard the people arrive at 1am and had noise until they settled down. Then banging on doors again at 7am! I understand this could happen anywhere, but we did specify a quiet area of the hotel - we mentioned it to the receptionist in the morning but got nowhere! But to sum up, I would stay again, just hope we get a noise free night!

    « Wedding weekend »

We were attending a wedding and chose this hotel for the duration of our stay. We were very pleased with the whole experience. Good size room with large bed. Good decor. Staff helpful and professional. Food very good. Would definitely recommend this particular Best Western.

« Good for both an overnight, or longer stay »

This Best Western provides the full service experience with 24 hour room service, an onsite restaurant as well as meeting rooms being available. Whilst the rooms are a little dated, they are comfortable, and the usual amenities are provided. The restaurant menu caters for most dietary needs, although subjectivity, it could do better by providing a greater selection of healthier options on the menu. An onsite gym and free (slow) WiFi are available.

    « Business Trip »

Good hotel for Business stay. Easy to find, good car parking. Hotel staff very welcoming and keen to make your staff pleasurable. Rooms spacious and comfortable and quite. Food excellent and seating area comfortable. Fitness centre attached to hotel

    « Chilled and relaxed »

3 days, 2 nights. Excellent food, service. Room comfortable and adequate very clean. Tea, mugs kettle, tv in room. Would have liked better lighting and toiletries biscuits available at reception so all you could want. Didn't use leisure facilities but these were adequate Overall very enjoyable weekend

    « A poor example of a Best Western »

Very expensive restaurant with no bar menu option. Small car park. Breakfast was too expensive so I went to the near-by Tesco. TV in room kept losing signal. Slow internet. Gym ok but some machines broken & none of the TV/Speaker systems worked. Small pool. Small changing rooms. I will look elsewhere next time.

    « Excellent value »

We stayed here for two nights, staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was well equipped, together with the Leisure facilities which are definately adequate. Evening meal for the family of seven was excellent, as were the breakfasts. Would definately recommend this hotel. You

« My stay at Best Western Buckingham Hotel »

I have stayed at the Best Western Buckingham hotel previously, so happy to re book for my business trip. The hotel staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the food is very good. They also have a leisure centre (although I never visited myself).

    « Welcomed for meeting »

Fifteen of us were welcomed by the staff at this hotel. They were helpful, accommodating and thoughtful. We were given a place to chat. We had a delicious light lunch, served quickly and with no fuss. Thank you to all concerned.

    « Good Night »

Much better once you get in the door. Very inviting. Friendly staff, well presented desk and foyer. The kettle was the only problem, it seemed to contain soap, white residue and had a perfumed smell. Didn't matter, I even forgot to say as it was so good in all other ways.

    « 46 satisfied x Fleet Street Reunion guests... »

From the initial meeting with the hotel manager to setting up a Reunion Dinner for 46 people was service service service.... Excellent exchange in emails, phone calls and face to face. From the moment you drove into the hotel car park and found enough room to park safely and securely the Best Western service began, the reception welcome, the signing in and key allocation you were made welcome as a special guest. The area around the bar was spacious pre dinner, and bar service was timely, ample seats and tables available to chat with colleagues, used glasses were removed very quickly. The dinner for 46 was in the Winslow Room, 6 round tables, ample room for guests, the setting of tables, food presentation, service was first class, and all guests received what they had pre-ordered on time. The drinks service around the tables whether cash or card was very timely. The party carried on in the bar from approx 22:15 until 02:15 and a great time was had by all. The bedrooms bathrooms were tidy and clean and all facilities worked, including lights, showers, tv's, kettles and the Beds were comfy. To finish our Best Western experience the breakfast was hot, well presented food and tasty, with ample fruit juices, tea and coffee to choose from. Staff cleared tables speedily and fresh hot food was topped up so nobody had to wait. The reception staff greeted everyone with a Good Morning and check out went without a problem. Thank you Best Western Buckingham from all 46 of us, your service helped to make it a great Reunion for 2016.

    « Great overnight stay »

we stayed here for just one night for a company reunion. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were just right for an overnight stay. The bed was huge and in particular was one of the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. If ding in the restaurant I would definitely recommend the lamb shoulder which was superb. A good selection for the buffet breakfast as well. Good location close to Buckingham town centre and only a 15 minute drive to Milton Keynes.

    « Poor for a Best Western »

OK-£60 for a room seems reasonable (breakfast is extra and expensive-we didn't have as had to leave at 6.30am). Good points : Has a Spa. Didn't get a chance to try it. Guy in Spa was very helpful when we looked around. Beds are big and mattresses quite comfy, and room was a good size. Bad points : Rooms are dark and duvet had a few shoe marks on it. Bathrooms are ancient, poorly maintained and only 2 tiny bottles of soap. The Bar had no crisps and the restaurant almost kicks you out at 9.30pm. The food is tasty but, expensive as you are offered no bread or rolls and had to ask for water. WORST BIT-we got around 4 hours sleep. There seems to be a couple of cupboards in the hallways that house some sort of pump/fan. It sounds like a cruise ship horn sounding, every minute for 5 seconds throughout the whole night and even drowned out the bathroom fan and the kettle. Once you start to hear the sound, it is like slow torture every minute, of every hour. It is impossible to sleep. Staff on reception were not interested in our complaint the next morning. A very poor example of a chain that we thought would provide good quality.

    « Average »

Whilst relatively comfortable, our facilities were in need of a little refurbishment. The bathroom needs attention - tiles need regrouting and the wash basin needs replacing due to 'cracking' in glaze. Breakfast was good. Restaurant reasonable, albeit slightly pricey, but lacked a cosy ambience. Really disappointed they don't provide hot chocolate sachets in room.

    « Disappointing and overpriced »

Stayed for 2 nights over a weekend. The rooms are fairly basic to say the least. No drawer space, uncomfortable chairs, basic shower, etc. (best thing was the bed which was a good size). Coffee sachets were not replaced after first night and there was no shampoo just shower gel. Even double checked this with Reception and they confirmed it. Really??? (Ended up going to garage next door to buy some shampoo.) The hotel is right next to a really busy A road so is very noisy. Not exactly a restful night's sleep! Some staff members are really nice but some come across as really quite rude which is not what you would expect. The wine by the glass selection at the bar is really poor which someone else has also commented on I see. Overall this is Travelodge standard but not at Travelodge prices (we paid over £100 a night!). I'd look elsewhere if I were you!

    « Good option »

The hotel was ok, rooms were a reasonable size, breakfast was good - a bit limited and all the days were the same. Martina the receptionist was very kind and extremely helpful with my parents and all their requests. The location was good. However I would revoke to go with a car otherwise moving by taxi is the only option

« Not young child friendly! »

Came for family get together. We had been promised quiet room overlooking the back of the hotel and had even checked with them on previous day - no problem. On arrival given room overlooking very busy road and car park, very noisy, complained to reception - not interested -"Sorry we`re full!" Room very spartan, large bed, 2 uncomfortable chairs, hanging space but no drawers- had to live out of suitcase. Hotel dog friendly but definitely not for small children. Kitchen asked to microwave ready meal for 18 month old toddler absolutely refused quoting `health and safety grounds??? Suggested children`s menu but only available 2 hours later!! Asked for bar menu, told that was only for lunch time, so had to use restaurant. Will not be returning!

    « Nice, friendly hotel »

This hotel was booked for business stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good (it would have been nice if there had have been Gluten Free bread for breakfast) and the room comfortable but in need of a spruce up (sink was very scratched, grouting around bath a little dirty aswell as the shower curtain being a little grubby and the fan in the bathroom very noisy). Despite all of this I would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay there again myself.

    « Immaculate property »

Before our Valentine's day holiday, my husband and I have stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The property was immaculate, the staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the house keepers in particular was very indifferent and helpful with us, which made our visit feel just like home and welcoming. Maria had been looking after us, and made sure we were happy or if we needed anything. Outstanding service, we are looking not only to thank, but congratulate the business on working with such staff members! Would highly recommend this hotel for all types of travellers. Certainly worth its value. Thank you, Devon P.

    « Everything we expected »

I do not understand the complaints we read. We found the staff helpful, really nice reception area for tea or drinks, lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi. Room was a good size with a seating area, kettle, toiletries. A nice touch was the chamber maid leaving clean towels and extra toiletries outside of the room as we had asked not to be disturbed. Really comfy bed too.

    « excellent stay »

came for my daughters birthday, everything was perfect from check in to check out. in a perfect location for us. hotel was spotless, staff fantastic, great amenities with pool etc and the breakfast was delicious. we highly recommend this hotel

    « Very relaxing stay »

Excellent staff who were helpful, pleasant and professional. Good pool and spa. Didn't try the gym but it looks well equipped. Very good food and the staff were great. Can definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Quiet hotel »

Bit of a trek from bus stop if coming by public transport - on ring road. Modern hotel with decent size room, clean en-suite and most importantly, no traffic or other noises heard at night. Quibles - no biscuits in room, small amount of toiletries, bar a bit basic - larger and wine with no single Malts (come on, do you wish to maxamise your profits from busines travellers or not?), & WiFi slow Paid £90 for one night room only. Service was excellent with very friendly staff who organised a bus for our group to get to our meeitng

    « Wonderful weekend »

This is 6th time I've stayed at this hotel. Excellent value. Plenty of free parking. Good size spotless rooms. Comfy bed. Blackout curtains. Breakfast was very good choice and well prepared, some of it cooked to order. Staff very pleasant, helpful, polite some of them have been there since my first visit 5 years ago and always remember me and ask how I've been. Very unusual these days. Bar prices competitive and very good service. Had a great weekend. Thanks Best Western

« Disgraceful Customer Service Wrapped in Scapegoat Policy »

After what had started out as an average style in a relative clean room ended in absolute disgrace. After one week and over £550 being spent on rooms and breakfast the hotel refused point blank to send back some important books left in a room by mistake and required an elaborate process of sending an empty package to be packed and shipped back (to avoid postage charges). Although the importance of this was iterated apparently this is policy etc etc. No true service and going the extra mile compounds by bland food and absolutely no follow up. Checking out cost me 15 minutes of my morning followed up with further issues on my card. If this is the policy I would highly advise businesses to look elsewhere for accommodation. Terrible service and will be making a point of avoiding this place and going somewhere that cares about my money and business. Not impressed and still to be resolved.

    « So helpfull »

We were in Buckingham to attend a funeral and the staff could not have been more helpful - especially the lovely Jacquiline - thank you so much. The hotel is well located - the rooms a nice size and clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar are good. No fridge in the room which is a shame. On site parking and overall a fine choice for a stopover.

    « Perfect for business! »

I visited quickly as part of a stop off as I had some business on the industrial estate next door so I only had a cup of tea - which was lovely and came with a shortbread whilst I checked some emails using the free wifi but staff was very friendly and attentive whilst I was there.

    « Dinner Dance »

A visit to the Buckingham hotel was met with changes since our last visit. Subtle changes in the presentation of food was no surprises on finding out they have a new chef. Those people who want their vegetables over cooked will be disappointed as the veg was cooked to perfection. Staff were attentive to our needs; and requests for a change of pudding, extra sauce and vegetables were supplied on request. A self service breakfast is always pleasurable, the sausages were particularly delicious, made for them by a local butcher. Sadly though tea stored in an urn doesn't keep like coffee does, so ask for a pit of tea for one as this is a far nicer way to enjoy the morning brew. The weekend experience was let down by the quality of single beds. One was pushed up against a wall and despite being on wheels, the bottom sheet wasn't even tucked under the mattress, laziness probably. Pulling the bed out and a few minutes of sheet tucking made the bed sleepable. The bathroom had signs of previous occupants with hair in the soap dish. The hotel has an leisure complex attached with a compact pool with spa, gym and a steam and sauna. The steam room wasn't working while we were there but understand that maintenance has to be completed at some time. I can highly recommend the bread and butter pudding.

    « Average! »

Room 8.. Tv didn't work ( just static, tried wiggling leads) tired and late so gave up. Bed awful, mattress old and really no excuse , woke up with stiff neck and back. Room furniture been used by elephants to play football. Bathroom just old. Stayed 1 night, didn't have the breakfast I'd paid for as I just wanted to leave. On the plus side, it was clean, free wifi paid £75 for it.. Perhaps I expect too much.

    « Annual Dinner »

This is a first class venue for an annual dinner The price that the package is offered at is outstanding value for money The rooms are clean and spacious Bar prices are only just above local pub prices My only complain is the lack of choice of bitter and no real ale on tap

    « Good basic hotel »

Stayed here recently on a group booking for nearby Silverstone, so it was a functional visit. Can't complain, staff friendly, breakfast good and fresh. Overall, not a stellar 5-star stay, but perfectly adequate.

    « One to avoid »

Hotel looked presentable an room was ok but the staff must have been trained at Fawlty Towers! Every fault mentioned to reception was either someone else's fault or was met with a shrug of the shoulders. Bill was incorrect three times and led to an argument at the front desk in front of other patrons and the hotel threatening to call the police despite us proving they were wrong. Food just about passable, limited choice, waiters are attentive but regularly tried to remove plates whilst we were still eating. Room looked good but was cold and dim. We did not chance the leisure facilities due to our poor experience in the hotel.

« Very good, no nonsense hotel »

Situated on the outskirts of Buckingham the hotel is a classic motel style place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. While I would hesitate to recommend the restaurant for a romantic meal, for business purposes it would be just fine. If what you are looking for is a business hotel with a quiet room and a comfortable bed you could do an awful lot worse.

« Local gym users were well catered for »

I arrived in the pouring rain and ended up in the over flow car park as the gym was busy with many users in the main one. Climbing the steps to reception I waited whilst one chap handled several customers booking in. Despite a spare terminal, a chap who appeared to be the manager stood and watched. Eventually I was booked in and charged a £1 fee against my card despite pre-paying. The room was adequate. Dated decor and very dark wood meant that the room appeared more dark than it perhaps otherwise would. The internet was so slow my connection wouldn't remain and the bed was lumpy. The restaurant on site didn't appeal and did not represent good value. However, I did use it for self service breakfast. It wasn't especially clean and the staff seemed disinterested in helping at all. I think I would look elsewhere next time.

    « Fine »

Good hotel well sited for Bicester, Milton Keynes Etc. Good parking. Helpful staff. Reasonably priced with nice swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. Will definitely stay again on business. The town is just two minutes away and there is a Tesco's close by. Big double beds. Slept well

    « Training venue »

Great customer care and service! Attentive staff! Lovely rooms. Clean and up to date. Fantastic food. Excellent range of options. Great attention to detail. Good facilities and pool! Overall a wonderful experience - relaxing and enjoyable! Can recommend without reservation!

    « Business over night »

Great Place, stayed before about three times. Warm welcoming staff, very professional, great food too! The menu doesn't change that much which gives the opportunity to try it all. Overall it's a nice place if staying for business or visiting nearby friends, serves curry as a couple of choices on the menu, so how can you go wrong. Enjoy

« Lovely hotel and lovely staff »

I have been here a couple of time and I've always been very well welcomed. The staff and really kind and very attentive. There are a few things to do close by as well. They have dog friendly rooms and there is a walk in the wood where you can go with your dog for a walk in the morning. The town centre is stones throw away invade you want to do something different. If you plan to stay in you can sit in the lounge and have a beverage. It's quiet and relaxing. They also have a lovely leisure centre.

    « Buckingham Hotel »

Good location with easy access. Nice hotel with good leisure facilities. Rooms now look a little dated. But there has been some updating to the general areas. Breakfast was nicely presented. Have stayed before and would come back again.

    « On business »

Booked here for one night whilst on business. Little bit strange when entering the car park. Take care or you will miss it. Ample parking and the welcome was efficient. The room was clean and spacious but tired including the lumpy bed. I never ate at the hotel on the evening but the breakfast was good

    « A super hotel »

Loved this place.. staff could not do enough to make our stay a good one, can't rate them enough. the only thing that we didn't like was finding a dirty pair of boxer shorts in the bedside table.... Although after having a gorgeous buffet breakfast in the morning made up for 1 little mishap. 100% going back here!

« OK for the night »

This hotel was OK for what we wanted as near to friends who we were visiting for the night. I knew before we went that it was a bit dated having looked on here, but reading it was clean I was happy to book. Staff were friendly and check in was nice and easy. Yes our room was clean and neat but it was very tired, the bathroom was really old, our sheets were very white and nicely pressed but was torn a little. Overall a good hotel and did the trick and what more can you ask for for the money we paid. Didn't use the health club and would stay again if in the area - although if Im honest would rather pay a little more and get a more modern hotel.

« Best Western Buckingham Hotel »

Stayed for one night. Friendly staff at check in. Room was large. Bed was two singles together. Not as comfy as most Best Western beds. Bathroom and bedroom slightly old fashoined but fine. Tv did not have a good signal and stuck quite a few times. Food at the hotel was reasonable price and good quality.

« Does what it says on the tin »

The Buckingham Best Western was ideal for a 3 day course hosted at Whittlebury hall. The staff on reception were pleasant and helpful both over the phone and in person. My room was more than adequate with a HUGE bed and hairdryer, kettle and TV. Not great TV signal but this did not matter too much. Breakfast selection was great and I would definitely stay here again.

    « Great break »

A great place to stay for a short break. Comfortable rooms, great service and facilities. An up to date gym and a lovely pool with a jacuzzi. The food was excellent as were the staff. An all round nice place to stay.

« Business venue for MK »

Ideally located for business or pleasure trips to Milton Keynes if you don't mind the 15 mile drive. I found it to be pleasant with professional, friendly staff and generally very comfortable. It has leisure facilities, which i need to checkout on my next visit. If you want a quite retreat in a secluded location, the Buckingham is ideal.

    « Perfect stay. »

Only stopped for one night as we were in the area for a party. Comfy bed, large room, decent shower.. Tea and coffee in the room.. Poor picture quality on the TV but we weren't planning on watching anyway so that didn't bother us! Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't eat there but had a drink at the bar. Nice hotel as expected from Best Western.

    « One night stop »

Although our stay was only for one night we enjoyed our time at the hotel very much. The room was large, warm and very comfortable. The food at breakfast and evening meal was extremely good and the staff obliging and friendly. We look forward to coming again.

    « Best Western Buckingham »

I've stayed here a couple of times on business. It's a reasonable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is buffet style with a wide selection of food available. The rooms are comfortable with tv and tea making facilities in each one.

    « Average hotel »

This is a standard best western . The room wasn't that clean as per picture. The mattress wasn't that comfortable and I couldn't get full night asleep. The food however isn't too bad . Portions are decent and quality is acceptable. However you need to show your hotel card all the time before you enter the restaurant. The staff are ok . There is also a gym which I used but the ventilation was poor .

« Great service although rooms are tired »

Stayed here in order to attend a local wedding on booking through to checking out our experience with the staff was great nothing seemed to much trouble and was very professional. Our room was comfortable and clean however the furnishings and decor are tired and in need of updating and the complimentary coffee tray was not a very welcoming sight. Breakfast was excellent full cooked buffet all very well done my only criticism would be please find a nicer coffee. All in all a nice hotel with happy smiling staff.

« Good short stay hotel »

Very clean hotel and friendly staff. Effortless check in. If you have mobility problems though I would suggest you ring in advance as there is no lift and the hotel is on 3 floors. Also lots of steps from the car park to to the hotel but you can walk round to access a different way. We didn't eat here so I can't review that. Our bed wasn't very comfortable though but a mattress topper may have helped. Also towels are very thin and tatty looking but clean so can't really moan about that. It is on a main road and we were on the front of the hotel but on the ground floor and didn't really hear it. I imagine if you are on the second or third floor tough it may be louder.

    « Disappointing Visit »

Stayed overnight after spending the day at Silverstone, hotel not very far from the track Room 2 had an unpleasant smell when first entering, it was not noticeable after a while but it was off putting. The pillows were poor but the bed was OK.The room was tidy and spacious but there were no biscuits left with the tea/coffee.. There was a intermittent drone all night from somewhere near the bathroom which was not the bathroom vent fan also if the window was open traffic noise would be a problem. We went for a meal in the restaurant which was good, the food was freshly cooked and service was good. The breakfast was OK and the staff were friendly. We would not return to the hotel , disappointing visit.

    « Cracking 3 Star Hotel »

I stayed here last week whilst watching a Rugby World Cup match at the MK Dons stadium. The staff are uber friendly and ordered us a very reasonably priced Taxi. The breakfast was very hearty. I would recommend you ask for a room to the rear of the hotel as it can be a little noisy at the front of the hotel. The A421 runs just outside of the hotel.

« Good for a short stay, wouldn't stay longer than a night or two »

We stayed here after a wedding so we were in need of sleep! The room was incredibly hot (it wasn't even that hot a hot day!), it was only the next morning, we noticed the fans in the wardrobe, not something you tend to look for when getting to your room late at night! The bed was fine, the bathroom was fine. I'd say it's good for somewhere to sleep for a night but I wouldn't want to stay any longer. Breakfast was very basic. It's a budget hotel but good for a short stay.

« Excellent food, rooms a little tired »

Stayed here for a couple of night for a weekend break. On arrival it seemed like we were the only guests as the only people we saw were staff, whom I can say were very efficient and friendly. It literally took just a minute or two to check in and we were off to our room. The whole hotel, but especially the rooms are a little tired and showing signs of general wear and tear. But you can't expect everything to be brand new all of the time so it doesn't bother us at all. Everything worked perfectly and was cleaned to a high standard. The room was a good size, enough room for everything and a nice view out the window, The only thing that some may find not to their taste was the very soft mattresses, I thought they were great though, very comfy. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant the first night, and wondered what it would be like, we didn't have very high expectation but we couldn't have been more wrong, the food was absolutely excellent. Taste, quality, presentation, all to a very high standard, well beyond what you'd expect for a three star hotel, it wouldn't have been out of place at a five star establishment. We had no hesitation in eating there on our second night and the food again was to a very high standard. Overall we had a great stay, very good value, and very good food.

    « A good base »

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have fresh air. The windows open which is good as it can get warm. The health suit is nice and clean with lots of facilities. A great place for a base to explore the surrounding area.
