"Good Clean Hotel Room with Cooking Facilties and Walking Distance to the GABBA and Southbank"

TravelGirl_Melb, Mebourne 24/07/2019

Hi... we stayed in an Executive Studio which was a good size....and good value for money....the beds were comfortable...and the cooking facilities were available if you wanted to use them...the hotel is within walking distance to the GABBA and Southbank....and is in a quiet location with no traffic noise...we had an early flight so could not take advantage of the $15 buffet breakfast in the morning....overall a very pleasant stay....and would stay here again if venturing up for a footy trip to the GABBA :)

"Great location"

User 13/07/2019

This hotel is a five minute walk from the bottom end (close to restaurant area) of South Bank. Very close to the Brisbane Children's Hospital. It is clean and quiet. There is a great Besuty Salon and a seperate Spa and a nail bar on the lower level. Good parking options. Close to some local shops and cafes and a pub on the corner. Value for money and the room was fine.

"Good location room lacked a few things but overall good"

User 23/06/2019

Great location. Easy walk to Southbank and plenty of food options. Hotel was quite nicely decorated. Free parking was a winner. Room was nice, good size tv. Seating options as well as bedding. Bed however was quite hard. As it stated premium bedding We had hoped it had the lovely beds that are at Best Western Plus Northlakes but no. It also sounds odd but sheets were loud so whenever you turned it made noise. No microwave to heat bottles or food later. Shower had great water pressure and we could get it quite hot which was nice. Basic Buffet breakfast was decent for the money charged. Would stay again for short stays due to location and quality was pretty good. Bed improvement would just make it brilliant though.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear LSN1978, Thank you for your recent review of Best Western Plus Hotel Diana. We appreciate that you have taken the time to write about your stay. The hotel has recently been refurbished so the beds are new. Our standard Queen and King rooms do not have microwaves, however if you are looking for a room with a small kitchenette and microwave you may like to look at an Executive Room for your next stay. If you require the use of a microwave during your stay we have one available in the restaurant which can be used 24 hours a day. We are pleased that all other aspects of the hotel met your expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind Regards, Kirsty

"Great room, well equiped for family's."

Dreamer62026300341, Cairns, Australia 11/06/2019

We stayed in a family room, and there was plenty of room for the four of us (2 Adults 2 kids) The kitchen came fully equipped not that it was necessary but is nice to have the option, also with two fridges was great as most hotels it's hard to store cold items. The room was a little dusty on the airvent's and artwork but definitely wasn't enough to ruin our stay. Hotel staff we're freindly unfortunately couldn't have our room ready until 2pm as we arrived at 10am, but there is plenty of things to do with in a short walk and the staff we're happy to point us in the right direction. It's in a great location, right across from the hospital and amazing 30min walk to queen street mall, so many nice photos! The room also had a two person jet spa, bathroom 10/10! Only negative would be there is no shower glass/Curtin so water gets everywhere when showering. We definitely would stay again.

LoobylooTamworth, Toowoomba, Australia 05/06/2019

I have needed several trips to the mater hospital and we live 2hrs away. After looking at several hotels that were far more expensive I was very happy to find this hotel. It is walking distance to the hospital and there are ample eating places also walking distance. The rooms are clean and very comfy. We have stayed twice now and won't hesitate to stay again.

User 18/05/2019

Hotel Diana was a great place to stay. Very clean Bathroom was spotless. Room was quiet. Pleasant helpful staff. Great location. Very close to Mater Hospital. Good eating spots around. Although l didn't get to use it the beauty salon looked great.

"Great Place tp stay"

"Convenient location, free parking"

urbanfav, Sydney, Australia 26/04/2019

The hotel has been well renovated. Convenient location close to the city, 24 hours check in/out. Front desk staff friendly. On site car parking was free. The room was small but functional, generally clean. Renovations are well done especially the bathroom. WiFi speed was good. However (could be it was Easter Sunday and Easter Monday holiday, lack of cleaners?) on our arrival we noted the toilet seat had black stains and on our second day stay the toilet was not cleaned! Disappointing because everything else was good.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review

"Pleasant and Central"

Ann S, Caloundra, Australia 14/04/2019

We just wanted a pleasant overnight in Brisbane when we visited to attend a wedding, and that's what we got. A functionally practical and clean room, easy check-in and parking. Free and trouble-free wifi is always a blessing. The location is very central and convenient to buses and trains to get to the Southbank restaurant strip, art galleries and museums if that's what you want to do. Breakfast was a bit average- not a huge choice and very slow to replenish dishes of cooked food, bacon, mushrooms etc which was annoying! We'd nevertheless stay there again.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Ann S, Thank you for your recent review of Best Western Plus Hotel Diana. User 26/03/2019

Friendly staff, clean facilities. Location is handy to the hospital precinct. Breakfast was good, we had a full brekky room service. ( Only tip is that the fish and chip shop nearby was disappointing, had to wait a long time...batter was very oily and hardly any chips)

"Great location for seeing Brisbane"

Afternoongirl, Worthing, West Sussex 25/03/2019

The room and the bathroom were a large size and very clean and modern. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. There is also a stocked fridge and a large tv. Check in was quick and simple and there was plenty of available parking. The hotel does have its own restaurant for breakfast and other meals but we didn't use this amenity. The hotel is situated in a parade of a few small shops and restaurants so you don't need to go far to eat and the South Bank is about a 10 minute walk and the Botanical Gardens about a 15 - 20 minute walk.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Afternoongirl, Thank you for your lovely review of Best Western Plus Hotel Diana. Your comments were very nice and it was good of you to include the surroundings areas as you mentioned Southbank Parklands it is only a quick walk. Kind Regards, Kirsty

Anthony B, Sydney, Australia 08/03/2019

A good location and has restaurants at the door plus a small supermarket. Rooms are good size . Bathrooms nicely renovated. The rooms are a little dated but very clean and comfortable beds. "Disappointing and dilapidated "

J4335UAamys, Kirwan, Australia 09/02/2019

Not the best arrival. Teenager not on the desk, out the back and obviously bored. Unable to provide basic details about the hotel amenities. Common areas tired and in need of renovation. Room reasonable size but decor outdated. Dusty windowsills and tv. Bed mattress not supportive and pillows thin. Mini bar but white wine not stored in it so therefore not cold. Bathroom upgraded and clean but thin, small towels. 3 stars at best. I travel for work. 3 - 4 different hotels a week. So I'm pretty particular and notice the small details. Will make sure my company books me somewhere else next time!

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear J4335Uamys, We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay with us, we strive to have the most professional and friendly staff that we can on the Front Desk for check in and check out. The hotel was recently re furbished, the entire was done including the rooms and the common areas, we are continuing to upgrade our courtyard areas and the Breakfast room, which now hosts a bar and coffee machine. I hope that you may choose to try the hotel again, please contact me directly and I am here to help you. Kind Regards, Kirsty

"Very close to Mater Hospital"

Very good, very close to Brisbane Mater Hospital, friendly and helpful staff, good room. Our second visit to stay close to the hospital for appointments from out of town. Close to South Bank for relaxation, coffee shops and restaurants, entertainment and museums to visit and a ferry ride on the Brisbane River.

"A night in Brisbane for the Cricket"

Lesley-ann L, Brisbane, Australia 15/01/2019

Reception and Concierge staff were very helpful and friendly, appreciated their willingness to be of assistance. This time we had a king room which was clean and tidy and further away from the lift, looking over the rear of the hotel. I can't say that I was impressed with the view! The hotel itself is within walking distance to the GABBA for the Cricket, and Southbank Parklands are only a short distance away. Breakfast - Is served buffet style and is good value for money. Parking is at the rear of the hotel and is not undercover and was fulll when we arrived, however we didn't have one to wait to get a bay.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Ori111, I am happy to hear that you were pleased with our staff and their willingness to assist you. If you choose stay with us again and you find that the car parking at the rear of the building is full, please ask reception as we also have an underground car park that can be utilised. This is also free of charge to in house guests. Kind Regards, Kirsty

Lovely clean hotel, close to Southbank, breakfast was really good. Very comfy beds. The check in staff were very helpful at check in AND check out. This hotel is great value for money, especially compared to other Southbank hotels. It doesn't have a pool, but that's made very clear, and the lagoon at Southbank is only a 10 minute walk away.

"Modern clean room"

W8345JNlisas, Brisbane, Australia 16/12/2018

The twin share room was clean, modern and well kept. Checkin staff could have attempted to be more accommodating. Understand that it's not always possible to room people close by but he didn't even bother to check. Breakfast was average. We came towards the end of breakfast so some food was a little cold and most of the tables dirty.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear W8345JNlisas, I am happy that your stay with us was enjoyable. We do try our best to accommodate rooms to be next to each other specifically if requested. "Restaurants and shops adjacent, close to Southbank and Mater Hospital group"

Christine B, Sunshine Coast 31/10/2018

Reception and Concierge staff were awesome, appreciated their willingness to be of assistance. Room decor was very nice, clean and tidy; and bed was very comfortable. No undercover parking - Room at the front of the hotel was very hot with the setting sun and very noisy with road traffic all through the night. Toilet too close to the shower screen. Within walking distance to Southbank Parklands and short distance to Mater Hospitals.

"Pleasant Stay"

heatherG9309EP, Hervey Bay, Australia 28/10/2018

In Brisbane for all the wrong reasons, a hospital visit to the Mater, we stayed at the Hotel Diana. Convenience plus for us for location, but happy to report the hotel is very pleasant to stay at, modern, clean, excellent room and most importantly the staff are all welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

"Woken up by Jackhammer. Seriously."

User 01/10/2018

This morning we were woken up by a Jackhammer doing work outside. But it's close enough that is directly vibrating the walls of the building making it much louder inside. Sounds like it's inside or room ??

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Anthony Hogg, We apologise that your stay at the Best Western Plus was interrupted by the jack hammering. Unfortunately the building is under going some changes, however we were unaware that the noise would be starting at such an early hour. "Beware of building works if you come to rest"

MELtoUnknown, Melbourne 21/09/2018

Warning: There are renovations going on within the building shared by the hotel. The hotel staff advised that the works can legally commence from 6am and they have no control over this. Hammering and drilling vibrated through the wall of our room from 6:45am and intermittently throughout the during the day. I was staying to rest after a night in hospital - not ideal for me. You may wish to call ahead to request a room away from the works. The room was cheap, the bed big, blinds were effective and the hotel was located close to the hospital (our main destination) and food/pubs/bars. However, 2 out of 3 reception staff were disinterested in us, our fridge was broken (not cold), and the bed was hard.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear MeltoUnknow, I apologise that the construction noise dissrupted your stay with us. Unfortunately as that area no longer belongs to us our control over the noise is limited. I am happy to say that this has now stopped. We endeavour to inform our guests of the times that the noise may cause disruption, however this is not always possible. I hope that you will stay with us again and if there are any issues please do not hesitate to see me personally. Kind Regards, Kirsty

jdnick, Jakarta, Indonesia 20/09/2018

Important documents and an electronic device were stolen at the hotel. The hotel took no ownership and responsibility on investigating, yet disrespectfully argued back to the customer. Some of the hotel staffs are dishonest including the hotel manager (Lady). The dishonest hotel staff and the Hotel Manager were the worse hotel staff I have ever seen. No professional manners, hospitality and courtesy.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review

"Amazing staff"

Lucy L, Mole Creek 19/09/2018

I had booked my room on the wrong date. When i showed up staff did everything to give me a room that night at no extra costs. Everyone was lovely. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were above and beyond. What else do you want!

"All about the Spa"

User 18/09/2018

They've had some renovations done since my last visit which are a great improvement if subtle. For me its still always about having the Korean style bathhouse/spa on premises that makes my stay. Didn't try the breakfast this time so can't comment on that. There are a few handy shops in the immediate plaza area around the hotel like a wine shop, convenience store and takeaways. If you like Asian food theres a fabulous Vietnamese restaraunt and a busy Korean BBQ thats quite good as well. The Mater hospital is located right across the road so there's excellent bus transport links from the Mater Hill busway stop just a short walk away.

"Compassionate - Understands Relatives with Family in Hospital"

Christine P, Sydney, Australia 07/09/2018

The room was great. Clean, airy and bright. I had a corner room so loved having two large windows. Next door to the motel was a small shopping centre with a bakery and general store which came in handy. Due to complications from my grand-daughter's surgery, I needed to stay in the city for some extra nights. When I explained my situation, the staff did all they could to assist. Even though my room was not available for extra nights, the staff took the time to ensure I could stay in my own room rather than relocate. They also provided me with an extra day's parking coupon - parking at the hospital is $30 per day. I am thankful for their understanding and flexibility.

"Modern, clean and welcoming"

SpannerM, Sydney, Australia 05/09/2018

A modern hotel, very quiet and clean with excellent appointments. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. My stay was only very short (about 12 hours), but i would definitely go back.

"Just what I needed"

User 03/09/2018

Booked this hotel last minute for the price I paid and the location was ok. Asked for an early checkin and was given the thumbs up, the check in was quick which was great as we had places to be. The room I personally believe was big enough for my duration and reasons why I had to come to Brisbane. The air con was great, nice and cold and quickly kicks in if turning on. The bathroom was big and the shower pressure was just what I needed. Housekeepers were nice however the didn't replace my used glasses for new ones but wasn't a big deal. The free parking was a bonus and pretty much the whole reason why I booked best western. Theres a complex next door has a few Asian restaurants and a small shop as well as a bottle shop which was handy, be aware that one of the restaurants do have karaoke at night. 15 minute walk to south bank, 25 minutes to queen street walk, and 3 minute walk to the hospital. They do have a buffet breakfast but no dinner or lunch. They don't have a bar either or a swimming pool. So this hotel is ideally for those who need a place to sleep and shower.

"Great room in a fab location"

Michael K, Muswellbrook 21/08/2018

On a recent trip to my hometown of Brisbane we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Diana on Stanley street in the Gabba. The room was ideal for our two teenage children, my wife and I , with enough room for everyone. It had a well appointed kitchen, generous living area and spacious bathroom with two person spa bath. On this visit we did not make use of the dining facilities, due mainly to the proximity to hundreds of dining options, cafes and bars. I would highly recommend the Diana for anyone wanting to be close to the cosmopolitan South Brisbane and West End, with good transport links to the CBD.

"My Stay at the Best Western Hotel Diana."

annewalsh7, Bundaberg, Australia 14/08/2018

Starting with a quick and friendly check in at The Hotel Diana taking in the tasteful decor and the inviting courtyard complete with a soothing water fountain. Up to our room which was fantastic, we had a view, the room was quite large with a King Size bed, full screen TV, Bar Fridge full of goodies and a nice clean bathroom with raindrop shower head in the shower. The hotel is directly accross from the Mater Hospital, 2 pubs within walking distance, nice walk to Southbank or the city, or there is a busway within 500 metres. The hotel has a restaurant and a gym and day spa as well. There are a variety of Restaurants and shops within the complex. I would definitely recommend the Best Western Hotel Diana as our only choice to stay in Brisbane.

"Comfortable, close to Southbank and reasonably priced"

User 07/08/2018

Visit to QLD for business at the Mater Hospital. This accomodation is 2-5min walk, very reasonably priced and close to a few spots open at 6AM for a good coffee! Hotel currently undergoing some renovations - which is likely to lift the somewhat dated decor. Overall very satisfied.

"Convenient and helpful staff"

User 04/08/2018

Enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return. Very helpful staff, nice rooms and set in a convenient location near to shops, restaurants and pub. Had a quick, cheap massage service on the bottom floor too which was a real bonus.

"Personal and Convenient"

User 03/08/2018

My use of Hotel Diana is purely from a medical point of view. I travel to Brisbane every 6 months on behalf of medical reasons. My son has an appointment with his neurologist at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital (LCCH). Hotel Diana is only a few hundred metres away from LCCH. However ... Hotel Diana only provides in-house breakfast. I'm happy to go to Brewhouse Brisbane to have dinner and tea. However I expect a decent breakfast at Hotel Diana.

"Management said they were out of control"

small c, hong kong 02/08/2018

Hardware of the room is only average, no curtain for shower, and exhaust hood is not working. Need to improve! I surely will tell everyone i know that the management of the room was so poor and out of control, every weekday(Thursday and Friday) of my stay 7:30am to 8:30am there was drilling work for renovation inside hotel and create nuisance. The case was reported to the top management on duty at once, but she impolitely feedback that it was out of their control and could not help us. The other incident was the housekeeping forgot to remove the garbage under the sink, we called to the reception desk, the reception staff replied that only him (one staff) in the premises at that time, and asked us to bring the garbage to him in the reception.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear small c , I apologise that you did not have an enjoyable stay with us. The hotel is curently undergoing some construction work that is not related directly to us and the as I explained it is out of our control to indicate when they can start and stop. This is governed by the City Council and permits are obtained to undertake this work. Unfortunately we are only able to advise our guests that there will be noise between certain hours of the day. We only have a small Front Office Team here at the hotel and generally we work alone which can make it difficult for us to complete tasks immediately. I am sorry that Housekeeping forgot to take away your rubbish, however the team member on duty at that time was trying to help you with a solution to your problem. Once again my apologies that you did not feel that your stay was enjoyable. We do strive to make our guests stays enjoyable and that the enviroment provided by our staff is friendly and welcoming. Kind Regards, Kirsty

"Good place to stay"

tmac100, Sydney, Australia 26/07/2018

We were on our way to N Queensland, and heard the hotel was good because our camping vehicle would stay in the outdoor parking lot -no worries about overhead clearance. The room had a nice queen sized bed with cotton sheets. Fridge and kettle for tea/coffee. Good lift and a trolley for luggage. Strip mall for light snacks (sushi), groceries, and bottle shop right next door. All led to a great stay.

Takashi T, St.leonards 05/07/2018

You have to fix the hot water system ASAP. Breakfast was not impressed compared with couple months ago, not good sausage, not good bacon and there are no danish (with jam and apple) Parking ticket is now required to park the car.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Takashi T, I am dissapointed that you did not enjoy your stay. Lovely friendly helpful staff & the room clean & nice though the hotel was falsely advertised on Bookings.com as the sauna & Spa were closed for renovations (Not stated on Bookings.com). This was the main reason I booked the hotel for my 2 children & I.... Breakfast needs more variety as not good value for $18.95. A great little coffee shop in the complex just outside the hotel also with a few other dinner options. Carparking is easy, clean and tidy room and bathroom, quiet, great location, friendly staff, comfy bed.

"Handy location"

Charlotte7295, Bundaberg, Australia 23/06/2018

Across the road from the Mater and Lady Cilento Hospitals. Good choice of nearby cafes & restaurants. Also close to South Bank and the Gabba. Staff was very friendly and the room reasonably clean & comfortable. The bed however had a very hard mattress which doesn't agree with my back. We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that. It was ok to stay there for our needs and overall I would recommend this hotel.

"Good Stay"

User 21/06/2018

My husband had to go into hospital at the Mater. I stayed at the Hotel Diana and it was clean, the rooms updated since I had last stayed there. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was really convenient as I could just walk across the road to get to the hospital.

"Excellent. Couldn't fault it."

groldis, Melbourne, Australia 15/06/2018

We had a conference here for 20 people with a range of needs. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty. Nothing was too much trouble and it was all done with a smile and that little bit extra interaction that really makes the difference. The facilities were spot on and there were no hidden extras. I would highly recommend this venue for a small conference and also for accommodation. The food was fresh and plentiful as well.

Fred C, Adelaide, Australia 07/06/2018

Room was small but functional. Sockets for chargers were easily accessible and handily located either side of the bed. Noisy air conditioning. Bed was hard and the sheets starchy and uncomfortable. Breakfast was disappointing, only margarine, no butter available and low quality hot food options. Espresso coffee not included in the price.

Courttney D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Fred C, I am happy that you found that the location of the hotel was convenient for your needs. User 03/06/2018

The cafe and restaurant don't offer that much option. The lift is very slow. Not too many people to help you but very friendly. The lift is very slow. The sauna was not working. There are some dining options around the hotel walking.

"Very clean and close to everything "

Micheala F, Bundaberg, Australia 27/05/2018

Very clean neat and tidy, close to everything we needed such as a bottle shop, cafe with amazing coffee, news agent and Koran Resturant, Italian pizza shop all just out side the motels door step. The motel has a warm and friendly feel about it with a nice fresh king size room, new bathroom, buffet breakfast, lovely friendly staff, wheel chair access, nice pool area, I liked the place, there were only a few things that I wasn't overly happy with when we stayed 1. The lift was having issues and we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs 2 there is a step in the buffet area and it's easy to miss and easy to slip over on. But apart from that it's a nice place and I would stay there again

"Good location at a reasonable price"

Michael G, Melbourne, Australia 26/05/2018

I have previously stayed at this hotel as the location is convenient. The staff are friendly and it is usually well priced. I found it disappointing that the bar on site is no longer in use as the outdoor space by the fountain was a nice spot to relax with a drink at the end of the day.

"Ticks the boxes"

marilyn242018, Melbourne, Australia 22/05/2018

Staff wer welcoming and friendly. I was going to the football so the location was brilliant. Easy walking distance to the Gabba and a pleasant walk to Southbank and attractions. Rooms are a tad small but very clean and well appointed

"Service feedback"

tperic664756, Sydney, Australia 22/05/2018

"A comfortable and well-located hotel"

X9660LRdennisg, Canberra, Australia 22/05/2018

The hotel is well located to Brisbane's Southbank attractions. The room was comfortable and recently renovated even though the hotel was rather dated. The breakfast was quite limited and lacked variety. There was no restaurant at the hotel.

yliu973427, Adelaide, Australia 18/05/2018

excellent services, 24 hrs reception, free car park at rare side, all of the staff were nice and handy, it was a convenient location for me, only takes 5 mins walk to south bank, 10mins to QUT, 15 mins to Queen Plaza.

"Tidy Rooms, Excellent Staff, Great Experiance"

daddymac2018, Melbourne, Australia 18/05/2018

Overall excellent experience with lots of food choices nearby. All encounters with staff were positive who were very accommodating and extremely helpful. The cleanliness levels were of high standard. All staff in the lobby were very friendly and overall made it a great experience.

"Comfortable beds and free parking."

MelE06, Brisbane, Australia 18/05/2018

We had a triple room with a single and queen bed. The location was within a close drive to the city which was great. However, those who do not drive, I am unsure if there is public transport nearby. When we arrived, we went up into the room and found it to be quite small for three adults and two suitcases. They were trying to fit too much within the small room and this made it look even more cramped. The cupboard was in a very awkward position such that the ironing board and luggage rack all had to be put slanted in order to fit. The bed was comfortable and it was generally clean. However, we found mould on the ceiling above the shower tub and the tub was badly scratched that I would not want to soak in it. I feedback this back to them the next day but as they were fully booked, we were compensated with free buffet breakfast the following morning. The reception staff certainly provided great service on their part for this was great. The reception was constantly busy and perhaps the hotel should consider the staffing of the reception during peak hours when the hotel is fully booked. I have my reservations that this is a four star hotel and think that it is three stars at best. The spa (closed down) and pool were all unavailable during my stay and hence the amenities for such were non existent. During our second night, as there was a rugby game nearby, all the parking were taken up by non hotel guests (not within their control) but thankfully, we were told that we could park in an underground carpark that belonged to the hotel and they would let us out when we needed to exit.

"4.5 stars?"

NQPsych2U, Queensland, Australia 15/05/2018

Personally I believe 3 stars would be just for this hotel. The hotel and rooms are quite dated, noted by the elevator making interesting noises before opening its doors and the toilet leaking all night in room 203. The staff were friendly and the free car parking is a benefit for those on a budget. The addition of free use of the gym was also helpful for those travelling and hoping to maintaim a routine. I didn't eat here as there were some reasonably reviewed restaurants nearby at better prices. Reasonable hotel while on a budget but do not expect a 4 star+ hotel upon arrival. Quite a central location although the rooms are not soundproof so expect some traffic noise if you are a light sleeper.

mareetk, Cairns, Australia 15/05/2018

They were very accomodating with our last minute booking. We had a great room it was close to eateries and I would definitely recommend the breakfast. Very friendly we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

"Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, Brisbane, Queensland"

842haip, Toronto, Canada 14/05/2018

Nice looking hotel in Brisbane. Room is nice and clean. Bed is comfortable. Internet is average. Parking is free however it fills up quick, I have to park underground and during my stay the underground elevator is not working. The hotel is in a strip mall with a few restaurants so you don't have to wonder to far from the hotel to get dinner

User 12/05/2018

Best Western Plus Hotel Diana has a great location. A short stroll away is the South Bank, which is not only beautiful, but a great place to be entertained, relax and have something delicious to eat. A short walk across the bridge and you can take in the beautiful surroundings in the Botanical Gardens and then into the city of Brisbane for shopping or lunch.

"Excellent place to stay"

User 07/05/2018

Kirsty was excellent to deal with, from greeting us, booking the 2 of us in and giving us a late check out. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Our room was clean and very tidy. Mini bar was well stocked. This sort of service is pretty rare these days. We will recommend Diana Hotel to anyone we know visiting Brisbane. Cheers, and have a good day Pat Quinn.

Great location and good value for money. I have been staying there each month for the past 4 years and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone. I have had there breakfast in the past however each time I did I found the food had been sitting out for a while, so I would necessarily recommend it as value for money.

"One week Best Western Plus Hotel Diana"

StephanieSeeds, Gracemere, Australia 20/04/2018

Hotel Diana was only about 400 metres from Brisbane Private Mater Hospital where my partner was transferred to. In my search for a hotel nearest tobthe hospital, this was the closest I could find. It is also close to all the other hospitals in that area such as Brisbane Mater hospital and the Lady Cilento children's Hospital, and alot of Specialists Doctors offices. This meant I could walk there without the hassles of paying for and catching public transport or taxis, and I could be by my partner's bedside from morning to late at night. It only took me 5-8 minutes leisurely walk to get back to the hotel. I felt at home with this Hotel, not that my home looks anything like this hotel (which is absolutely beautiful), but it really made me feel relaxed, safe and comfortable while I stayed there for a week. The staff were so friendly and understanding towards me, even though my swipe key failed to work twice for me, but it was no drama for them to fix it, and it only took a minute to fix at reception. There was one particular lady with dark hair who was very friendly, helpful and understanding towards me. She spoke so lovely and her appearance was impeccable. She is a credit to this fine Hotel. The Lobby and Reception is beautiful, very classy like a five star hotel. I remember it had a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling, I was admiring it while sitting in the comfortable lounge chairs in the lobby. They also offer a buffet breakfast in their dining area, for a price of approximately $16, which was delicious, and saved me walking to another cafe in the area for breakfast. There are alot of cafe's, restaurants and takeaways nearby, which I'd also recommend to try for night time meals and lunches. The Hotel Diana also has a little coffee bar, which I found only to be operating in the morning at breakfast time, so you can buy a delicious morning coffee downstairs next to the dining area where breakfast is served. A small supermarket is in the shopping plaza next door, along with a bottleshop, a gym and some restaurants & takeaway. There is a mini bar in the room, which I didn't use, but it's handy in case you needed it. They have only got tea & coffee making facilities in the room, which suited me for the morning coffee and late night cup of tea. The hotel room was lovely, it was so great to get back from the hospital and wash off in the spacious shower. The king sized bed was comfy, not too hard or too soft and noise from nearby guests were very minimal. I used the laundry twice while I was there, and the washing machine cost $4 and the dryer was free. I bought a sachet of washing powder from reception for $1 each. I'd highly recommended Hotel Diana again especially being so close to the hospitals in South Brisbane, and South Bank is just a walk down the street if you want a break and have a look around the area. I walked from the South Brisbane train station to the hotel with a large suitcase and while it was a little bit hilly to walk there, it wasn't too much hard work, and I didn't mind the walk to familiarise myself with the surroundings and to see what was nearby in the area. If you have a lot of luggage then maybe get a taxi there. I would definitely come back again if I needed a hotel near the hospital again.

"My Brisbane stay at Hotel Diane"

Excellent hotel facilities, including the buffet breakfast. The staff were all friendly. Its situation is within a pleasant walk to Southbank and Brisbane CBD. Next to the hotel there are a number of eateries reasonably priced. This has been my second time at this hotel and will come back again.

Close to the city, free parking and the staff could not do enough for their visitors. They have us for next time and beyond. The best Thai restaurant is next door and you must go there for a meal. Avail yourself of the free parking as the taxi fare into the main city area is around $15.00.Brisbane city parking is exorbitant.

We stayed there two different nights during our stay in Australia. The first night we had a queen bed with a desk and two night stands. There is a kettle to heat water to make instant coffee or tea. There are snacks to purchase in the fridge. I found it interesting and quite a change to have instant coffee in the rooms. The instant coffee in the rooms is good. Both of the rooms were equipped with cups and glasses. Room two on the second stay had plates and other utensils to use as it had a kitchenette - room 107. In both of the different rooms, there is a shower with a rain head and also a hand-held shower head. There are small containers of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body gel for one's use. Night one, we had a vehicle rental and there is parking available. There is also free wi-fi. We were able to have the breakfast the first trip there but not the second trip as we left before it was served at 06:30. Breakfast at the hotel the first stay consisted of a smorgasbord and contained many different items. There was a choice of bacon and sausages, eggs, breads, cereals, coffee, tea, hash brown patties, fruit. The selection was good and the food was very well prepared. The Chef did a wonderful job and she was very friendly providing us with information for the areas we were going to visit. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Our second night consisted of a suite with mini fridge, cooktop stove, large kitchen sink, couches, coffee table (area was on the small side for this additional furniture), queen bed, and desk. This is not a hotel to go to if one is just landing, spending the night and then catching a plane out in the morning. We learned the traffic in the mornings on weekdays can be horrific especially if one is catching a morning flight. We were not used that in Canada where we live so lesson learned and that was our mistake. We left just before 6 AM to get to the airport in order to beat the morning traffic. There are two options to get to the hotel, paying for a toll charge or not. The taxi is not cheap either for our second trip to and from the airport to the hotel. Our first trip was with a car rental and there is free parking. It is my understanding that most use this hotel because of its location to the excellent hospitals located around the hotel. The gym is located in the small mall and one has access to the gym. The front desk staff are most helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we travel this path again.

Dear GrannyAC Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. It's great to read you would definitely stay with us again if back in Brisbane. I hope you had a lovely time in Australia and a safe trip home.

"Breakfast is a must"

caz252018, Bundaberg, Australia 20/03/2018

Rooms are clean & modern. Breakfast is fantastic. Location is fabulous, short walk to South Bank and into the city via a dedicated pedestrian bridge. Morrison Hotel is a short walk around the corner for a great meal.

HotelDianaBrisbane, Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Hello caz252018 Great to read such positive feedback about our hotel and location. With only a 10 minute walk to South Bank, directly off the motorway but quiet and free parking, most guests find us an ideal place to stay. Thank you for reviewing us and hope to see you again.

"Room booking "

Rockardt77, Toowoomba, Australia 17/03/2018

Good hotel. Not expensive & booked room at last minute. Close to city if looking to go in that direction, with our celebration in Coorparoo. Breakfast available at reasonable price, with plenty of space.

HotelDianaBrisbane, Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Hello Rockardt77, Thank you for your positive feedback and choosing to stay with us. We hope to welcome you back very soon.

"Free parking and close to the Southbank"

User 09/03/2018

We chose this hotel because it offered free parking. We were concerned it might be a bit "off pitch" however it was a short walk to all the restaurants and attractions of Southbank, so we were pleased with our choice. The hotel is comfortable with all that we required.

"Quick and clean"

Jemima L, Lismore, Australia 04/03/2018

1970's décor, with a beautiful renovated bathroom. Very clean and super friendly receptionist. Location is very close to everything in south Brisbane with only a short drive or lovely walk to Southbank.

"Quick friendly check-in"

jd1825, Qld 04/03/2018

Quick, easy and friendly check in. Helpful staff. Reasonably priced breakfast selection, continental and full available. Room clean and comfortable. 2nd floor overlooking nearby bar and restaurants was a little loud Saturday night. However nosie settled, block out curtains and comfortable beds.

"Superb Hotel"

allan_don, Ravenshoe, Australia 03/03/2018

Location, location, location if you are on business or need to be near the Mater or Children's Hospital. Fortunately neither for us, but an overnight stay before a long drive home. Reception and all staff are so welcoming, the hotel is spotless and the rooms well furnished. The hotel decor is sort of ancient Greece meets Asia, in places but none the less very pleasant. We were upgraded to a small but very comfy suite with some kitchen facilities. Bathrooms are small but fresh and new. The free piece of Carrot Cake at reception was delicious and there is quite an assortment of places to eat within walking distance. Parking is free but it is outdoors in a monitored lot. We would definitely stay again and recommend this property, excellent value for money...

"Fit for purpose"

Guddy71, Melbourne, Australia 02/03/2018

Few days in Brissy for work. This place does its job admirably. Room was smallish but renovations are well done, especially the bathroom. Nice sliding glass door on the shower, and recessed lighting around the bathroom mirror. Initially thought the bed was a little firm, but turned out to be fine. Good selection of cable (Foxtel) channels, but why does (almost) every hotel/motel, including this one, have aspect ratio problems with their cable tv reception? 16:9 doesn't go onto 4:3. Not that hard I would've thought. Breakfast was pretty good for the price ($16). I've paid more for worse. Breakfast room was light & bright, although the cheap black plastic tablecloths detracted from the experience. Good barista coffee at the bar, too. Car parking is on site (behind hotel) and free (can be hard to get free parking this close to the cbd) but is not undercover, and not secure. Hotel is in a busy area, on a busy road. Hospitals over the road, restaurants & shops next door, including a Chinese restaurant that has Karaoke on weekends. Having said all that, it never felt too noisy. 20 minute walk to Southbank and 25 minutes to the cbd via the pedestrian bridge over the river. Nothing flash, but does its job without too much fuss.

"Trip to Hospital"

kenjenchalmers, Agnes Water, Australia 22/02/2018

We felt welcomed immediately on our arrival. All the receptionists were cheerful, friendly and helpful. Danny went out of his way to help us out wherever and whenever he could and we soon developed a friendship with this likeable man. The Motel is run efficiently, the rooms are nice, clean and comfortable and quiet. They are very well equipped for your needs. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Weekend break from work and stress"

nealerprice, Brisbane 21/02/2018

Having access to local asian restaurants, a spa and sauna make this a great cost effective weekend getaway, whilst still in Brisbane. Staff are helpful and the area is relatively quiet for a leisurely sleep in on a Sunday morning.

"Very easy, very nice."

User 16/02/2018

Felt very comfortable staying there. Didn't feel impersonal and amenities were very good. Room was quite spacious and mini bar well stocked. Staff were professional but friendly. Very approachable. I would definitely stay here again.

elizabeth532015, Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom 15/02/2018

This hotel is advertised as luxury but it's not. Major housekeeping problems mean the first room I was given was disgusting - stains on the coverlet, tatty cushions, scratched furniture, and dirty "sculpted" carpet (from the 70s). I asked for another room and they said the only one available was a family suite which would cost me double. Staff were surly. After half an hour I was ready to leave so they decided to let me have the "suite". I did not want it but no other choice. This was better, but still dirty! Nail clippings on the sofa and crumbs on the floor meant it hadn't been properly cleaned, and the lining of the bed was hanging off the bottom for all to see. There is no pool, and for the price there should be. The "day spa" is dingy and the stairs down to it are dirty and paint splattered. The wifi is terrible - had to sit in reception to get a signal and be connected the admin. The outside sign says it all - dated, uncared for and letters falling off. There are plenty of other hotels in this price range with much better facilties - I wish I'd booked elsewhere!

HotelDianaBrisbane, Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Elizabeth, What a terrible review. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologise for what you experienced. Our staff and housekeeping normally go above and beyond to make our guests stay enjoyable. The rooms were renovated less than 12 months ago, including carpet. I know the room you stayed in and will attend to the damage and issues immediately. Again I sincerely apologise for the room and housekeeping not being to the high standard we try and maintain. Unfortunately we don't have a pool. Streets Beach, Australia's only man made inner city beach, with sparkling lagoon pool is only a 10 minute walk from us located at South Bank. I thank you for taking the time to review us and hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Queensland.

"Good location and friendly staffs."

Wildbay123, Brisbane, Australia 14/02/2018

Close to mater hospital and the Gabba . Plenty of restaurants in the area. Also free parking is a great bonus. Breaky's quality can be better but with the price they charged I really can't compliant much.

"Great location for the hospital"

User 14/02/2018

It had a seating area but you could only watch the tv from the bed & the kettle was next to the bed and not in the kitchen, so the layout was unusual! Otherwise extremely good location for the Mater Private hospital.

"Great Stay"

User 14/02/2018

When a hospital stay is required by a family member it's great to know that we can stay at a hotel that gives great service. The room was clean and comfortable and staff very helpful and were happy to go that extra bit to help with any predicament when it arises. Thank You Hotel Diana

"Rooms are excellent, breakfast buffet not so good."

User 10/02/2018

Hotel has recently been refurbished & looks a million dollars. Room was very comfortable, as was the bed. Slept like a baby both nights. Location was perfect for the purpose of our trip to Brisbane. Will definitely stay there again when next in Brisbane.

"Great property"

User 27/01/2018

Stayed here with my son while going to watch the cricket. Very easy walk to the Gabba, beautiful clean room, nice bathroom, friendly staff who remember your name, on site parking. It was a great stay.

"Excellent accommodation and overall satisfaction!"

User 24/01/2018

Found this gem of a hotel online while looking for accommodation near Brisbane CBD, but not actually within the CBD. Great central location but not noisy or busy. Great service of staff including free wifi and parking. Buffet breakfast had great options and menu was extensive. Grocery store below hotel for easy access. Modern looking hotel and nice interior. Comfortable room, bathroom, and bed. Would definitely recommend!

"Great staff, nice place to stay."

Geoff H, Sunshine Coast, Australia 24/01/2018

We booked this room to see the cricket at the GABBA. Only a 15 minute walk away. There was a small issue with our room and that was handled well. The breakfast was fantastic and the room and rates were perfect for us. We would recommend Hotel Diana.

"Weekend away"

User 23/01/2018

Could not have wished for more friendly and courteous staff. The room was very clean and tidy. Was quite easy to find and very handy to the Gabba, (walking distance not too far). Have no complaints at all with the accommodation, it was terrific.

"Great last minute deal"

User 20/01/2018

Close to The Gabba, short walking distance to thw ground. All close to other ammenties, like restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and public transport. Great value for money, save on having to wait and use public transport.

"Great Location with friendly staff"

Leanne F, Hervey Bay, Australia 19/01/2018

Very clean, directly opposite Mater Hospital and close to cafes, pub and walking distance to South Bank. Very friendly staff, nice outdoor area with Fountain which is a nice place to sit and relax, because the rooms have no balcony. The only complaint we had, was the bed was too firm for us.

"Versitile location south brisbane"

eckel_09, Emerald, Australia 18/01/2018

Our family chose this hotel for its central location to the gabba, south Brisbane and the city. Was value for money but disappointing desk staff. arrived late at night and asked about breakfast times. Being told incorrect times, we missed breakfast and the staff couldn't have cared less. Disappointing because we were looking forward to a breakfast after travelling for so long the nigh before. They stated they rang the room to advise of the incorrect breakfast times however there were 3 of us in the room and we didn't hear the phone ring once. Little porkies I think. Disappointing because everything else was good. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, parking was included and location was central to our needs.

HotelDianaBrisbane, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear eckel_09 Thank you for taking the time to review our property and your stay here at the hotel. Thank you also for the positive feedback about the hotel. I am however truly sorry that you were given the incorrect times for breakfast and also that the morning shift could not get through to you in your room to advise of the incorrect times. I trust that you were able to find some breakfast at one of the restuarants around the hotel that was suggested by the morning staff. I hope that we will see you and your family again Kindest Regards Management Hotel Diana

"Great stay"

Rockhead_1, Ballina 16/01/2018

We had a great stay at the Best Western Diana whilst visiting family at the Mater Hospital which is just across the road. Very convenient and still only a $10 taxi ride to the Queen St Mall in central Brisbane. Plenty of food choices and convenience store within 50m.

"Great Location"

Jann J, Toowoomba, Australia 16/01/2018

Great location. Free parking a plus. Easy walk to Southbank. Room adequate for our needs - clean. Staff helpful. The hotel is older and appears to be undergoing some updating which will improve the rooms even more. Bathroom modern and clean.

"Nice place"

David B, Buderim, Australia 16/01/2018

Excellent motel. Great locations. Plenty shop close buy. Lovely breakfast range. Maybe sausages could be improved but overall excellent rooms clean and tidy, housekeeper very helpful.. Bed great close to south bank and city with easy exit both north and south

"Mater Hospital visit"

479donaldk, Pialba 16/01/2018

It is an excellent place to stay when visiting the Mater Hospital. Only a few minutes walk. Everything at the motel suited our requirements and the staff were very friendly. We will stay there again if we have to visit the Mater hospital in the future.

"Exceptional customer service saves the day!"

User 10/01/2018

We stayed here for 3 night as our introduction to both Brisbane and Australia. The room was not overly large but large enough for the 3 of us to stay comfortably. The location was on the cusp of being prime, a short walk to the river. A variety of restaurants and activities within a reasonable walking distance. It was a few customer service experiences that pushed the review to the top level. Danny assisted us a few times, he was very helpful at solving a future booking issue along holding our luggage when our arrival was a couple of hours early. A special shout out to Kirsty for all of her assistance in getting my walking sandals back to me! After I left these sandals behind after check out she went above and beyond to get my sandals back to me! Appreciation overload! Thank you so much Best Western Plus Hotel Diana!

"Excellent staff"

User 08/01/2018

Wow the staff at Hotel Diana were fantastic, we needed to stay longer due to medical reasons and they went above & beyond to help us out in a very difficult time. We will be staying here again when in Brisbane.

"Very good"

User 05/01/2018

Very good hotel, we took the family suite during our stay there. It was really good, clean, well furnished and also the staff were friendly and approachable. This hotel is very close to the city which was very convenient for us.

"Southbank Stay"

User 05/01/2018

Friendly, hassle free booking at short notice.Clean and quiet with very comfy bed.Would definitely stay there again. My only complaint/disappointment was that we could not open the window for air as we are not a fan of A/C.

"Very good place to stay"

User 05/01/2018

I was suppprting a family member at the Mater hospital nearby and this was a very good place to stay for that purpose. My room was quiet, the staff were helpful and the location of course was perfect.

"Best western Plaza Diana"

Great, friendly service, great for couples, needs to work on their disabled bathroom facilities, but otherwise good. Disabled person needs help moving from toilet to shower as that is how it is setup.

"Happy customer"

Kazndazwheeler, Burnett Heads, Australia 24/12/2017

We stayed here when my daughter had spinal surgery in dec 2017. It was a very stressful time and the motel was just lovely! One less thing to worry about. Will be back and highly recommend to anyone. The family room is fantastic for only $189!

User 24/12/2017

Excellent venue. I could not ask for anymore even down to staff continuing to inquire on my wifes progress in hospital following her operation. The front office staff were excellent as were the room attendants.

"Magnificent "

"Diana Plaza"

User 19/12/2017

overall a great stay and great value for money. Location was great with everything being in walking distance. The breakfast buffet was value for money with a little bit of everything. Having the other restaurants in walking distance gave you a choice every night for something different.

"Great place to stay while in Brisbane"

"Convenient and value for money"

"Perfect location"

ningaloo2006, Cairns, Australia 08/12/2017

I stayed here for work. Location was perfect next to South Bank and walking distance to the city centre. Room was spotless. Neat tidy. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was included and okay basic.

"Convenient location, simple room"

User 04/12/2017

Friendly helpful staff who knew the local area well. Elevator was bumpy and slow, carpets are a little dated but the room itself was nice with a huge shower and comfortable bed. The location was convenient to everywhere but the parking wasn't secure, we only realised after our stay that there was underground parking available. One of the lights in our room kept sparking so kept it off

"Great location and brilliant staff"

1987Helen, Cumbria, United Kingdom 04/12/2017

The hotel is a 30 minute walk to the city centre, perfect for us to walk off all the delicious food on offer! Rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious and well maintained. All staff are friendly and helpful but special shout out to Danny, reception manager. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us a huge about of local knowledge. Danny is an asset to the company. Thank you all for a great stay.

"Excellent hotel - good value, immaculate with friendly staff"

User 01/12/2017

Its a pleasure to find a good value hotel that ticks all the required boxes. It is close to a wide selection of eateries and close to all public transport. The staff have helped on printing and scanning and have always gone the extra mile. Will definitely stay again.

"Great value"

User 01/12/2017

Very clean, friendly staff and great location. Carparking was located close to motel. Short walk to plently of places to eat at and southbank. Motel was quiet and had a nice seating area near reception where you can sit and unwind

"Overall disappointing"

moobaby5, Maryborough, Australia 30/11/2017

Small room. No secure parking. No pool? Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. Immaculately clean. Close to the Mater Hospital. Staff helpful and lovely. Scary lift. Impossible to find the back door.

HotelDianaBrisbane, Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Moobaby5, The front office team would like to thank you for your kind words. It's great to hear you found the hotel immaculate. We have a number of different room types and sizes, we hope you choose to stay with us again and offer you a larger room. The hotel has free open air parking and secure underground parking for $9 per day. I apologise if this wasn't explained to you. Streets Beach, Australia's only man made inner-city beach with huge lagoon pool and Aquativity Water Park, are both only a 10 minute walk from us located in South Bank. We sincerely thank you for taking the time to review us.

"Great loacation."

Really nice hotel located close to the south bank area. Very nice rooms and importantly has a super market right next door. Had lot of help from Danny (Reception person). He was of great help. Next trip to this city , I would definitely gonna stay here only.

"night getaway"

Kim C, Brisbane, Australia 30/10/2017

Highly recommend this Hotel for a city getaway, very freindly, clean and close to everything . Considering how close to the main road you cant hear the traffic , it is very quiet. The buffet breakfast is delicious with a great variety. The mini bar in the rooms are also priced well unlike most mini bars are so far overpriced where as theirs was very reasonable, with a good selection. The blackout curtains were amazing , made great for a pre night out nap :-)

"City Hotel"

gordonfergusonr, Brisbane, Australia 26/10/2017

Excellent Hotel in the heart of Brisbane. Clean room with very friendly helpful staff. The staff had a great local knowledge which was perfect for the limited time we stayed in Brisbane. If we ever return to Australia we would definitely stay again.

jenniy014, Byron Bay, Australia 21/10/2017

Good room with comfortable beds, great location with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. An interesting area of Brisbane, not far from the city centre. Busy hotel at times of major sporting events at the nearby Gabba. Overall, great for a city stay and good value.

"A great place to stay in Brisbane"

User 21/10/2017

We find ourselves returning to Diana Plaza again and again. It is an easy walk to South Bank has 2 takeaway shops, IGA, bottle shop and wood fired pizzas right next door. The rooms are in great condition and the staff are always helpful.

"Awesome service and accomodation"

User 21/10/2017

Stayed here again after being here in June. Was a great choice again as all staff have been great. Buffet breakfast has been great, with ample variety. Would recommend staying here to anybody who asked. Central location with only 5 min walk to Lady Cilento

"Pleasant stay"

donaldn870, The Gums Australia 17/10/2017

A good place to stay. Clean and tidy with courteous and attentive staff. Handy to Hospitals and South Bank. Easy access for cars with secure under cover parking included in price and a variety of Restaurants in adjoining buildings.

"Enjoyable stay"

Webtones, Mullumbimby, Australia 16/10/2017

We often stayed at the Diana Plaza but stopped after it became a little run down. We needed to stay in this area so gave it another go. We were pleasantly surprised as the Hotel has been refurbished and is a huge improvement. We booked the Executive Queen Studio for 2 nights, which had a lounge area, kitchenette & space. Found the Saturday night rate a little pricey compared to other Hotels in the CBD but the Sunday night rate was good. Check in was very slow as 4 groups were checking in at the same time but the girl on the desk handled it well. Maybe a second person on the desk during peak times would help. The car park was full so we had to park elsewhere till a spot became available. Being able to access the Gym & Korean Spa as a guest of the Hotel is a real plus & bonus. Never got my complimentary paper I ordered for both days but had an enjoyable stay. Would definitely stay here again.

"best western hotel Diana - Woolloongabba qld"

User 16/10/2017

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, all staff members were very happy and helpful. I especially love the coffee that was served at breakfast. My room was excellent, brand new and the bathroom was excellent especially the shower and the live in blow dryer, iron and ironing board. Great room for a stay for business. I especially like the soak toiletries range too. it was a fantastic stay.

"Good place to stay when visiting Brisbane"

Tibbycat13, Holbeach, United Kingdom 16/10/2017

We were visiting Brisbane for a couple of days and stayed at this hotel. It is a good location to walk into the city. The free parking is a bonus. The room was comfortable but we did have a problem with the fridge not working and were having trouble logging on to the wifi, but after a call to reception Mark came to our rescue. OK, so the lifts broke down and the wifi was slow (once we managed to log on), and the buffet breakfast was nothing to write home about, but the bed was comfortable and the fridge did start working again. We enjoyed our stay, and Brisbane.

"Good place to stay"

User 15/10/2017

The star feature of this hotel has to be named Danny. Rarely do you receive such genuinely helpful advice and assistance. This man tops the list - and is up there with a young man on the desk at the Waldorf Astoria in New York when we stayed there in 2012.

"Ticked all the Boxes"

User 12/10/2017

We have used this hotel many times and will continue to do so. The rooms have just been updated and are fresh, modern, tidy and clean. The bathroom is very modern and filled with toiletries, clean towels and soap. There are coffee and tea making facilities with a choice of teas and coffee. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It is within walking distance to the Mater Hospital and has Pubs, coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. You can walk to Southbank, the Art Gallery and Museum from there. It is also a short taxi ride to the City Mall.

"Decent enough"

User 10/10/2017

We stayed with 2 young kids for 2 nights. We found Hotel Diana to be in a great location in terms of accessing the South Bank. Friendly, helpful staff & clean room with a decent amount of appliances etc. The only disappointment was that the 2nd bed for the kids was a fold-out couch.

"Good Value"

James T, Kings Beach, Australia 10/10/2017

Hotel Diana is certainly good value, but maybe not in the best location. Very handy for the Mater Hospital but apart from that it is a bit of a walk to Southbank or the city. For locals to Brisbane it works. I have stayed there before and will stay there again. The breakfast whilst appearing great value fits the You get what you pay for tag.

"Ample free parking"

User 09/10/2017

Handy location being opposite the hospital and a short walk to Southbank. Surprisingly quiet being located on a busy road. Ample free parking and close to a small convenience store. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Well-priced for the area you are located. Would use again.

"Great Stay"

User 03/10/2017

When visiting Brisbane, I always stay here because it's so close to everything without being in the city. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. the rooms are well maintained and comfortable.

"Excellent conference settings for small group."

aus3, Brisbane, Australia 03/10/2017

Loved being here for a conference. The waiter service with nibbles was good and the coffee and tea service was smartly organised.. The restaurant nearby was very well serviced and all staff did their best to be helpful. The hotel had a comfortable room and the price was not expensive..

"Fair value"

User 02/10/2017

The hotel is a little outdated and not so easy to find but it is fair value and good for short stays. Room was clean and neat. Breakfast not great but ok. Good restaurant options close to the hotel for dinner.

User 02/10/2017

Helpful and nice staff, the room was clean and looked good. Close to a grocery store, which was good for us because we forgot some things that we could find nearby. easy to get in to Southbank and back.

"Great value in Brisbane"

RonandNancy, Angourie, Australia 27/09/2017

Comfortable, well appointed and recently upgraded rooms. Friendly, helpful staff and 24 hour desk. Very good location - walk to South Bank, Mater Hospital, The Gabba and CBD. A variety of local shops, cafes and restaurants cater to most needs. Free parking but uncovered.

"Friendly helpful staff"

krfoliaki, Auckland, New Zealand 27/09/2017

The staff were very helpful especially duty manager Danny who took great care of us. If travelling as a family I recommend staying in a family room which offer lots of space and is good value for money. The hotel is close to restaurants and the motorway with a major bus stop nearby. It's also an easy walk to southbank.

"Great location"

User 23/09/2017

Lots of great eateries within walking distance. Public transport easy to access. Ample parking free of charge. Family friendly room with great spa bath and very clean. Staff were lovely and helpful. Walking distance to Mater hospital.

"Room was untidy and I had to clean it. My daughter also hurt her toe on the bathroom floor"

User 22/09/2017

Other then the incident and uncleanliness it was a gd hotel value for the money n very friendly staff. Very comfy bed also. If I were to come for other reasons I would go back as very close to hospital

"Comfortable and quiet!"

User 21/09/2017

The room has recently been updated and was fresh and clean. The decor is pleasant and the location excellent. It has all the facilities of an inner city hotel without the noise. The free entry to the day spa is excellent value.

"Interstate guest of our church visiting for a special Saints Day Celebration"

User 17/09/2017

Our guests were very satisfied with your hotel and had nothing but praise for the friendliness of staff, cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms and the breakfasts and we are sure to place all our future guests with you as we have been doing for the past several years.

"Not value for money"

User 16/09/2017

Many better places for the same cost. They try to charge for all "extras" which arguably in other hotels wouldn't incur a charge. If I wanted to stay somewhere without housekeeping I would've booked an airbnb stay. The front of house staff though nice are ineffective and mostly unhelpful, bar the manager. Very dissapointing stay.

"Friendly Staff, Clean rooms, Close to Hospital and Specialists "

User 15/09/2017

We have stayed here a number of times - Danny and the staff are friendly and accomodating- they do they best to check you in early or late check out ( if room is available and sometimes for a small fee) Danny actually recognised us from previous visits and took the time to ask about my progress etc which was nice. They only provide a buffet breakfast - which is more than plentiful and lunches and dinner can be found close by in the shopping complex. This hotel is close to the hospitals and specialists - unfortunately our reason for visiting :( and the hotel staff are happy to assist with your specific needs when asked. We will be returning in December/January.

"Best in Brisbane"

andrewdeath, Hervey Bay, Australia 15/09/2017

Best value for money hotel in Brisbane.Staff are more than helpful special shout out to Danny the most professional man I have ever met.We have stayed approx 10 times and always can't wait to go back they have become part of our family.Buffet breakfast every morning is the best value for money I have ever had in any hotel I have stayed at.

"Well kept secret in BrisVegas"

Sherry G, Queensland Australia 15/09/2017

This hotel is pretty close to ideal for us - not posh but well presented. It was a reasonable cost, had free parking, free wifi and a flat screen TV. We were down from the country for business and catch some sessions at the Writer's Festival. Although the hotel is four minutes by car to South Bank's hub of bars, theatres and attractions, it is in a quirky Gabba neighbourhood that has some interesting eateries. I noticed a young Bohemian crowd probably because the University of Queensland is across the road. The Hotel is also super close to the Mater Hospital but I never heard any noise - we slept really well. Beer galore and steaks are available at the Brisbane Brewhouse on the corner and, further on, there is a cute little French place that we hope to try next time. Buses are easily available to go Southbank and the City. The area sports a late night café, a basic Thai restaurant, an interesting looking gourmet pizza place and a Gym (probably to work off the pizza!). If you are looking for crazy, fun entertainment and have courage, go to Ben's Chinese and Vietnamese Restaurant on a Karaoke night (Saturday?). It's across from the Hotel and up the stairs. Hotel Diana has a breakfast buffet at a very reasonable cost. It does not do night / lunch meals but with all the restaurants in the area, it was not an issue. There is a convenience store a stone's throw away and a Bottle shop - heaven, right? The other things we loved about this place: it was super clean in the room and bathroom. The modern décor is edgy and great. The room had a mini bar fridge for those late night munchies plus jug with tea and coffee supplies (and biscuits!). The best thing of all was a Manager called Danny who remembered us and called us by name. We weren't a booking number - where do you get this attention to detail now days?! Danny was professional, kind and patient (especially when my husband drove off with my bag!) - it is wonderful to experience great staff. We look forward returning.

"Excellent for visiting the Lady Cilento childrens hospital."

User 14/09/2017

This hotel was perfect for visiting my granddaughter who was in the Lady Cilento childrens hospital just a short walk away with great eating places close by. It was a good choice and the room clean and tidy.

"Excellent place to stay and handy location"

Greshen M, Dalby, Queensland, Australia 14/09/2017

Stayed here while receiving treatment at the Mater hospital. Very friendly staff and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this place as it close to the mater and the shops near by offer excellent value and variety.

"Brisbane stay"

598sro, Greater Newcastle, Australia 12/09/2017

Recently enjoyed a stay in Brisbane and stayed at Best Westetn's Hotel Diana. It was a very pleasant stay and I will certainly, and a great place. I will certainly stay there again. Happy to recommend it

"Best Western Diana"

Deb B, Gold Coast, Australia 12/09/2017

Great centrally located hotel within walking distance to Southbank, Museums and GOMA and close to the city. Plenty of cafe's restaurants and convenience shops nearby. Comfy beds with nice linen and quiet too, no outside noise when sleeping.

"Quick trip close to Hospitals"

User 08/09/2017

From the time we arrived at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was comfortable and very clean and the Hotel is located within a short walking distance to shops, restaurants parks and entertainment making it possible to leave the car in the free of road carpark for the duration of your stay. We enjoyed visiting the museum and art gallery and even walked over to the CBD and visited the beautiful botanic gardens.

Nikki B, Rockhampton, Australia 07/09/2017

We love the Diana!! Will definitely be back!! Close to shops, hospitals, ferries, Southbank and City. Staff are friendly and rooms are cosy, clean and modern. Baggage storage and a good restaurant. Cute little outside courtyard with tables and a fountain!

patrickbracken, Opole, Poland 07/09/2017

Good location. Easy access to public transport, cafes etc. Helpful staff, clean room, spacious enough to be able to move around comfortably. Comfortable bed. Good internet access. Will use this facility.

"For a family of 4 the appartment room was great, with a terrace as well."

User 04/09/2017

Good value for money. The roof terrace is practical for smokers. The town centre is easily in walking distance. A cab to the airport cost 70-00 $AUS so not too far. I always use Best Westerns when possible / available and have never been disappointed. Wasn't this time.

"Excellent hotel."

ppack4962, Toowoomba, Australia 31/08/2017

Very close to the Brisbane CBD, Mater Hospital and Parklands however it was very quiet considering prximity to the city. I would happily recommend this hotel for its ervice, friendliness of staff and general atmosphere

"Fantastic location, close to South Bank"

prunes71, Penrith, Australia 31/08/2017

A lovely hotel, great location & only a short walk from South Bank. Room was spacious, with a big flatscreen tv, reading lights and desk so I could use my lap top. Bathroom was clean, shower head was one of those rainwater shower heads, not enough pressure but did the job. Bed was rather uncomfortable, too hard and moved around, while the pillows were much too soft. Hotel is great for a 1 night stay if passing through or if staying on business. Very close to a bakery, fish n chip takeaway, Chinese restaurant, Thai, awesome pizza/kebab shop, minimart and bottle shop. Very friendly staff and great onsite parking.

shani w, Barkers vale 27/08/2017

Absolutely loved it here. Great locale, staff and price. The room was perfect, very luxurious. Definitely plan on staying again... And for much longer. One night just isn't long enough. Oh, and if possible get a room with a spa!

"Great position and room"

User 27/08/2017

Never experienced such lovely helpful staff. We felt very well looked after from check in to check out. The only thing that staff had overseen was there was leftover food and drinks in the fridge from the previous people.

"Jeff Antonio"

Jeffantonio2014, Toowoomba, Australia 27/08/2017

My wife had surgery and she had to stay overnight in the Mater Private Hospital. The convenience of staying at the Hotel made it easy for hospital visits. The room was perfect and I slept very well in the comfortable bed.

"well done"

User 25/08/2017

Great position, great staff, We were welcomed and were quickly assigned our room. Room is excellent and pleasantly furnished. The car park is available and for a change it is complimentary which is rare this close to the city

"Comfortable Clean Rooms"

User 22/08/2017

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are lovely and the bed and pillows are really comfortable. A slight disappointment though, they advertise on their site that they have room service which is what we wanted. They only have room service for breakfast not dinner. There are a few restaurants around outside that will deliver. The Brewhouse Hotel on the corner is a great place to have dinner if you are looking for a decent meal.

tahw2017, Adelaide, Australia 21/08/2017

Hotel was in a good location. Room was clean and spacious. All of the staff i encountered were friendly and were very helpful. I would stay here again if in Brisbane. It is located close to the Gabba and Southbank and walking distance to the city.

"Overnight stay"

Tom E, Hervey Bay, Australia 21/08/2017

We have stayed here many times over the years and liked the fact that the hotel had been renovated I booked after they joined best western group and was disappointed that the room rates had gone up heaps. The rates are back now to where they were before and the breakfast buffet is great value and the food has improved heaps.

"Excellent! Definitely will be back"

User 21/08/2017

Kind and helpful staff/customer service. Very inexpensive for the great quality of the 2 apartment rooms for 8 people, and situated around our events we attended, highly recommended! And will definitely come back next time

"Excellent location for conferences"

V8225NKterryj, Bundaberg, Australia 17/08/2017

I have recently finished organising a conference at the Diana Plaza best western hotel, the staff were very efficient and friendly, the conference facilities and room accommodation were great, I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Will stay again."

User 16/08/2017

Been here before will stay here again. Wonderful and peaceful. Nice Homely feel. Nice and clean. Buffet breakfast was yummy fruit fresh and chilled. Beds are wonderful not too hard or soft. All staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.

"Lovely stay"

Carla M, Gold Coast, Australia 15/08/2017

Room was great and the staff were excellent but breakfast service was disappointing......too slow, received our coffees after we had finished eating. Need to have more staff rostered on. Will however, recommend this hotel as it was definitely value for money.

"Great Place to Stay"

Lana R, Warwick, Australia 15/08/2017

The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and neatly furnished. A very convenient location especially if you are visiting the hospitals. Everything is close to this motel, making it a family place to stay.

"Good location and comfortable room."

Michael G, Melbourne, Australia 15/08/2017

The hotel does not have a restaurant on site for dinner but there are many choices within a 50-100 metre walk. I was not offered the free drink voucher that I normally receive through booking.com and when I asked if I could purchase a drink from the bar I was told the staff could not find the key so the bar was closed. Overall a comfortable stay and I will return.

"Great hotel in a handy location"

mrdavemac, perth 09/08/2017

Great hotel. Staff were helpful. Rooms were modern and spacious. Handy location within easy walking distance to the beautiful Southbank part of Brisbane. Southbank had everything, free public pools, cafes, restaurants, bars, great playgrounds, ferry ports for the free ferry service, large ferris wheel and an easy walk across a bridge to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Directly next door is a supermarket, bottle shop, gym and several restaurants. The hotel doesn't have a pool but there a couple of free public pools in Southbank. Our 1st visit to Brisbane pre-cruise, I was quite impressed with the city, particularly Southbank.

"Best location for business or pleasure"

carlosvT4669ED, Sydney 08/08/2017

Across the street from the Matar Hospital in vey close walking distance to SthBank and city it's a great location. Confortable room and best feature of the hotel is the Korean style Bathouse , great to relax and unwind or be pampered with treatments that are excellent value for money

"Hotel Diana stay here if visiting Mater Hospital"

jawiz, Cairns Queensland 08/08/2017

If you are having to visit the Mater Hospital this is a comfortable quiet place to stay. Places to eat and public transport also not far away. Also walking distance to Southbank and the new Woolworths store. Not the cheapest place around but restful if you are going through a stressful time with hospital treatment.

"Bad night"

User 08/08/2017

Me my partner and 3 year old stayed one night and we all ended up vomiting next day the air con was on and it was dirty the bath spa was dirty and the cup I used for coffee I had to wash I'm sorry but will not be returning...

Great experience here. Clean rooms, beds are good, My room was facing the car park so very peaceful, friendly and helpful staff, all amenities and rooms well equipped, decent buffet breakfast. Not far from south bank either, about a 10 minute walk. I'd stay again. Great value for money.

"Great service"

malcolm1942, Termeil, Australia 26/07/2017

From the moment I arrived the front of house person-Danny-took my bags from the cab to the front desk. He is an amazing person to have as front of house. He remembers your name and what type of conference you are there for. The breakfast service was excellent, as was the complete service--great place to stay for any event.

"Great Refurb"

chilliw0nka, Brisbane, Australia 23/07/2017

Well done Diana Plaza, great refurb, the rooms are modern, comfortable and well decorated. Being able to open the window a little makes a huge difference for sleeping comfort. Been staying at this property for 7 years and it gets better each visit. Danny is a very helpful & kind manager, keep him!

"Positive working weekend"

Easy hotel for small community business group meeting. Staff very easy to work with. Planning on returning yearly . Highly recommend for mid range comfort and service. Cannot fault the staff for pleasant and warm manner .

"Great value"

User 23/07/2017

Good location, with modern rooms and facilities at an affordable price. Access to the bathhouse and the gym were a bonus. The breakfast was simple but nice. Free parking and quick access to the city. The adjacent Chinese restaurant was excellent value for money.

"Great place"

Great place to stay, clean rooms, convenient location and great staff. Highly recommend to anyone needing to stay close to hospital or southbank. Everything in walking distance including trains and restaurants.

"Good hotel in good location at reasonable rate"

alex135792468, Kerikeri 19/07/2017

All good, just foggy bathroom because of inefficient extractor. Good size room, clean, good beds, good shower, good beds, and what is most important: Very quiet, good insulation! Staff were freindly and helpful.

"Very good, very friendly."

Smithysfishing, Buddina, Australia 19/07/2017

Couldn't fault them. We also forgot something in the room when we checked out, rang them, they rang back staight away after finding it and then we were able to go straight back and pick it up. Front counter staff were great.

"The front desk service is good"

Tiro C, Taipei Taiwan 17/07/2017

The front desk provide a good service and hospitality in any question we had. When we want to borrow the AC adapter but all are rented out, the front desk manager try to find alternative way for us to accommodate our usage, finally we have a AC to USB adapter to charge.

Perfect if you are costing someone at the mater hospital, great location close to Brisbane cbd. Clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is a must at $14 odd dollars great value. Only a small uber or taxi ride into cbd of Brisbane or a 30 minute walk through botanical gardens

"Good value 3 1/2 star hotel"

Very well located for Mater and Lady Cilento Children's Hospitals. Restaurant precinct short drive. Car parking included in the tariff. Hotel refurbished last year. Korean bathhouse located in the Hotel basement.

"Sanctuary hideout"

777bellamartin, Brisbane, Australia 07/07/2017

The service provided as soon as we walked in the door was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was exceptional with a host of cafe venues readily available for all tastes. Public Transport is very close if required. We have no hesitation staying at this Hotel again.

"The family room was great but a couple of staff spoiled the experience"

marianchew0326, Hong Kong, China 07/07/2017

We arrived at 2am with two tired kids in tow and the check-in was brisk. The room was spacious - 1 queen bed and 2 twin bed for the kids. There was a kitchenette with a refrigerator that was really useful during our stay along with a dining table and a living room area. The parking lot is just behind the hotel if you have a car; they will give you a parking pass so you can park there. The shower pressure was very powerful. Everything generally seemed clean. We encountered 4 really professional and courteous front desk staff who were helpful when we asked questions. The free wifi only allowed 1GB for the entire stay. If you want more, you have to pay. 1GB is barely enough to read the news on the net and to check emails. Southbank was an easy and safe 12-min walk with our kids where you have a solid choice of restaurants to choose from. If you can, try and be there on Fridays and Saturdays because there is a local market where you can stroll around. There is also a great playground there. The public bathrooms, from our experience, have been clean. The last day was unpleasant for two reasons - (1) we asked a front desk staff if she can enter our Best Western number in to collect the points and she just didn't bother to help us out citing that we had to do it during our booking, which is not the case with all the other Best Western hotels we have stayed in; (2) There is a parking attendee who kept pressing us on whether we are Best Western hotel guests. We walked across the small parking lot and he managed to keep hounding us three times. These unfortunate experiences left a bad taste in our mouth, but it didn't overshadow the professional staff experiences we've had.

"Great stay!"

Cathy F, Bargara, Australia 07/07/2017

Stayed for 2 nights combining hospital appointment and leisure. Excellent location, a couple of hundred metres to the Mater and bus stop, a short stroll to Southbank Parklands. Staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. We stayed in the family suite with spa which was great for our needs, had all you could want for a longer stay too with an open plan kitchenette/dining/ lounge area which also had the 2 single beds. The free wifi connection was very poor however we didn't mention this to staff as it wasn't of huge importance to us. Overall we loved it and will definitely be booking again when we need to stay in Brisbane.

"great value for money"

User 07/07/2017

We have stayed at the Hotel Diana many times over the last year due to being close to the Mater Private hospital for my husband. They are always accommodating and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet is good value for money. would recommend this hotel highly.

"Good find"

hogiebear33, Adelaide, Australia 07/07/2017

It's a walk from the South Bank station, but not too challenging. Ideally placed next to shops and a pub, friendly staff and a bargain buffet breakfast. We're likely to come on back here, which is a relief since we've had trouble finding a place we like in Brisbane.

"fantastic stay"

User 06/07/2017

Excellent all round. Servuce from Danny at front counter outstanding very welcoming and accommodating. Close to facilities. Excellent food options and easy to get to southbank. Wouldnt hesitate to book there again.

Friendly staff who go above and beyond. Convenient for access to mater private and Southbank. GreAt choice of restaurants and eating options around. Room small but met our needs just fine. Shower was awesome.

"Pleasurable Experience - Best Western Plus Hotel Diana"

Teena W, Mount Tamborine, Queensland, Australia 28/06/2017

I stay at this accommodation every six weeks and have done so for the past 3 years. The hotel has been recently renovated, so has a fresh clean feel about it, the staff are friendly and the located of the hotel is great, my only reservation is the buffet breakfast which I found to lack variety and fairly basic for the price.

"Great hotel"

Berylandpeter, Canberra, Australia 27/06/2017

Modern decor and good sized rooms. The use of the gym for free was great. The free parking also was great. It is walking distance to Southbank and the pedestrian bridge into the city. I'd stay here again for sure.

"Comfortable and friendly a"

User 27/06/2017

Easy parking, good location, friendly staff. I would be happy to recommend a stay. The spa bath in the room was a welcome relief after a long day of travelling. The dining room has a beautiful setting for breakfast in the morning.

"Fantastic Hotel"

"Dowdy dowager now a princess again!"

Arden55, Gold Coast 23/06/2017

The dowdy old Diana has been refurbished and is now a lovely, comfortable, value-for-money place to stay if you are going to Southbank, the art galleries, museum . . . . or the Boggo Rd Jail Ghost tours!

"Towno Visit"

User 20/06/2017

For a limited duration city stay it had it all. Established property which has had an excellent refurbishment, particularly the bathroom. Well placed with public transport, with a short stroll to the Southbank precinct. Quite handy to the Mater hospital.

"Excellent location to stay"

User 18/06/2017

This Hotel was lovely to stay at, the staff were friendly, the foyer was welcoming and the parking great. It was also very close to all amenities in Brisbane, Southbank, City Centre, eating places and we loved that it was easy to drive to.

User 17/06/2017

A very happy atmosphere here to end to our very special day. Our overnight stay was perfect and a pity we could only stay for the one night. Diana was recommended by relatives who are "locals". Our venues were very easily reached. We will return on our next trip to Brisbane.

"Excellent location"

User 17/06/2017

I have been accommodated at this Hotel on several previous occasions and would be happy to stay at this Hotel again. Easy parking, great location and very friendly. Room was clean, tidy and well furnished.

My recent visit to Brisbane was the most pleasurable in years. Great service... The staff gave it a professional and personal touch which makes a world of difference. Day spa is wonderful, rooms, car parking and gardens clean and tidy. Thank you, I'll be booking with Hotel Diana from here on in.

"Great Hotel with nice location"

chandra_6813, Singapore 13/06/2017

we only stay 1 night in this hotel before we continue our trip to Coolangatta from Sunshine Coast. It seems this is a newly renovated hotel and the interiors are look modern, clean and comfortable. Downside for this hotel was the breakfast. Nothing Special..

"Awesome service"

User 06/06/2017

Stayed for 2 nights for my special needs daughters medical appointments. Staff were fantastic, rooms were clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend. We would happily stay again as convenient to shops, take away and hospitals.

"Do not recommend! "

User 05/06/2017

Do not recommend! Bathroom wasn't clean at all when we arrived, only half a roll of toilet paper in bathroom. Lights flickering, turning on and off every few minutes. Looked nothing like the photos, and a view of the car park. Definitely will not be returning!

, General Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear Faith, Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I sincerely apologise the room didn't meet your expectations. If you had let us know during your stay, we gladly would have changed rooms and attended to the flickering light and half roll of toilet paper. Once again, sincere apologies.

"Great hotel to stay at"

User 28/05/2017

Great hotel in such a prime position being close to hospital, bus station, Southbank and the city. Small shopping centre next door with a couple of eateries, bakery and mini mart. Buffet breakfast was typical of a hotel buffet. Nothing special. Room was clean and modern. The reception staff were very helpful and approachable. We will be back.

Cindy20, Australia 17/05/2017

Location is right near the hospitals. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the Exhibition Centre and Southbank restaurants. The room was spotless, the bathroom was brand new. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Downstairs next door are convenience stores and restaurants. I stayed for two nights and it was perfect.

"Brilliant location"

Gapster13, London, United Kingdom 16/05/2017

Excellent hotel, brilliantly located. Bed very comfortable, large room with table and chairs. Bathroom was wonderful Large walk in shower with rainfall head. Didn't try out the breakfast as we found a couple of place we liked nearby. Right next to a little complex with a supermarket, bottle shop and many food options Not a far walk to southbank and stumbling distance from the brewhouse. Excellent service from all the front desk staff, all very polite but not intruding. HEAVEN!

"Impromptu business trip"

User 10/05/2017

Stayed here for 5 nights few weeks ago, the room look exactly as advertise. Pros- 1- free parking, we rented a car and its pretty convenience for us even the car park wasn't cover (not a problem) 2- kinda wonder most of reviews here said wifi connection were slow, but during our stay, we didn't have any issue with wifi and the connection was stable. 3- clean room, clean bathroom, firm bed (which is our personal preference) 4- great access to the 24 hours gym though its not under hotel building (its at next door plaza) - but a bit awkward that we need to fetch the access card from receptionist whenever we want to use the gym. 5- minibar price especially can drinks is reasonable (refer to the photos) and the tea & coffee complimentary are well supplied. Cons- 1- more to minor things i would said, best western diana itself are lovely. However i wish they would provide hotel room slipper (disposable one) as they advertise themselves 4 and half stars - most of hotel we went on business trip came with it 2- the fridge are rather old and always hot on the outer part of it and it also didn't get cold enough 3- wee bit of walk to southbank, which for us not a big matter. Definitely will stay again on next business trip.

"Excellent Value Good Location"

gohugo, Sydney 09/05/2017

Nice clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff, very handy to the Mater and Children's hospitals, Southbank and The Gabba. NIce buffet breakfast Sunday morning for only$14.50 was a nice touch too. Free wi-fi although we didn't have time to use it so cannot comment on it's speed, but seemed easy enough to connect. The pub almost next door was a good family location with typical pub food and a range of craft beers and cocktails.

"Hospital stay"

Naomi D, Caboolture, Australia 02/05/2017

I recently stayed a few nights at the Diana due to family in the hospital. The staff were wonderful and very helpful and friendly. Not matter the time of day or night. The room was well equipped with all the amenities needed including a kitchenette which is great when you have little ones. Only thing is housekeeping never restocked the mini she and on one occasion didn't service the room. When Thai was mentioned to front office they were very helpful about it. Would stay again for sure.

"Nice, quite very friendly staff."

User 30/04/2017

The great quality of customer service makes this place feel cosy right from the door step and is a big plus. I have stayed at this hotel many time and over the past year or so it has undergone major renovations in all areas and is like new. There is plenty of onsite parking, free WiFi (a little slow) and good buffet breakfast. The rooms are quite, clean, neat, tidy and quite spacious. Not too far from Brisbane CBD and there are quite a few eateries around the hotel. We have used the seminar room facilities, which have been very good and the hotel can organise catering for the events, which is very handy. My only critique for this hotel is that they really need to get the internet speed sorted as it is only really good for checking email and is very slow with everything else. Overall a big thumbs up.

"Use Gloves!"

Honesttravel99, Australia 30/04/2017

We arrived early evening, receptionist was very pleasant, directed me to where the car park was - lots of cars, not many parks, but it's "OK to park in the shopping centre park if you display you motel voucher, they won't tow you away". Nervous start, found a park in the motel area. Up to the room, a bit small but well appointed, the cleaners had done well. The bed was firmer than I like, but comfortable none the less. Bathroom, great. Shower - magic, great pressure, no temperature changes, really good. Have a special on a buffet breakfast at the moment. Pretty typical offering, the coffee is very weak, ho hum, until........out comes the lady to top the breads up. Bit of an ear scratch, bare hands into he bread bag, pop some fresh bread on the pile, wipe hands on dress, do another loaf. It's not that hard folks, wear a glove when handling food. If you need to scratch, use the spare hand! Stayed 3 nights, only had breakfast once.

"Ok hotel"

Michael ?, Gävle, Sweden 17/04/2017

Choosed this hotel due to the close proximity to The Gabba. At check-in, staff seemed a bit bored with what they were doing and did not give a welcoming impression at all and did not give any information about the hotel what so ever. Room was nice and well equiped and the bed was very nice but noice from the corridore was loud and disturbing.

"Just right!"

katiedavidyoung, Leigh-on Sea, United Kingdom 15/04/2017

I stayed at the Diana on business, the hotel was excellent, from the welcoming staff in reception, too the comfortable beds, great food and central location. My only moan was that I was flying back to the uk over Sunday night and needed to sleep, the hotel decided to do a fire test for 4 hours...on and off. So I had no sleep... And when you have to stay awake to look after a patient on the flight, it's vital. Other than that..a great stay and very recommended.

"Excellent hotel."

jsawyer677, Atlanta, Georgia 10/04/2017

Stayed a couple of days here and enjoyed it. Located near lots of interesting places to eat and on bus lines for transit. Plus within walking distance of the river. Clean rooms. Efficient. Reasonable Continental breakfast.

"Great Hotel - Happy with everything"

C_G_Crowley, Perth, Australia 09/04/2017

Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are modern and well maintained. What you see in the photos is what your room is like. Breakfast is good value. Parking is easily accessible. Location is a 15 minute walk from South Bank 30 minute walk from the city. We will stay here on our next trip to Brisbane.

"Perfect business stay"

978angelae, Nambour, Australia 06/04/2017

I enjoyed the comfort of the room, access to buffet breakfast in the mornings, shops and restaurants close by for convenience and I took advantage of the day spa and had a massage. This was the best place I have stayed over my last 3 business trips in 2017.

"Nice Room Everything Else Average"

Micwa, Sydney, Australia 04/04/2017

Nice modern room as reviewed by many, but other things really let the hotel down. Got a room facing the front of the hotel/street (despite requesting a north side room facing the rear). The windows are not acoustically sealed and the noise from passing traffic, people in the car park and the adjacent karaoke bar was quite loud. We requested (and got) a north side room for the second night that was significantly quieter. Warning: the hotel is adjacent to a music school. We were awoken at 8:30 on a Sunday morning by a practising rock band. Not the fault of the hotel, but obviously a location problem. We looked at the breakfast buffet and the food was very ordinary, so we ate elsewhere. $14 is false economy when the food is not that great. Spend a bit more and eat at one of the many good cafes in nearby Southbank. The cafe at GOMA does a killer French Toast! Reception was often unattended. We rang from the room once and it simply rang out. Another time we walked in and there was a "Back in 5 mins" sign. Based on the room and rate, it would be 4 stars, but everything else dragged it down to 3.

"Great place to stay"

rjoseph2222, Lismore, Australia 03/04/2017

Great service, nice rooms and reasonable tariffs. Have stayed many times at this hotel and always go back. Good location as well. Very clean, quiet and well insulated. Parking out the back and not a rigmarole to park there. - really good all in all

"the upgrades are good"

kate g, hervey bay 27/11/2016

Have stayed many times over several years glad to see the upgrades, still wish they had removed the baths as the bathrooms are small, rooms are good, handy to hospitals, bus link , walking to southbank, though I still found that outside businesses patrons can be very noisy so some nights hard to get to sleep, would suggest when booking to ask for quite room. Parking can sometimes be a problem but see reception and they can arrange for you to use the Undegroung parking Overall ok

sbm1, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Plus Hotel Diana, responded to this review
Dear kate g, It's great to learn that you are a regular and like our fantastic major upgrade. We only have a small number of rooms with baths now so do ask us not to allocate one of these next time and we'll put you in a room with our great new rain showers. See you soon I hope. "A Hidden Gem on the Southside"

patriciagT1362YO, Gin Gin, Australia 24/11/2016

The whole daunting experience of accommodation in the city area was streamlined and the extra service from staff was much appreciated e.g leaving luggage while in hospital & arranging taxis. The bathroom facilities for wheelchair access were first class. Value for money was excellent for city.

Dear patriciag1362YO, Thank you for those lovely comments, especially about the good service for our cheerful team. Regards, Courttney Manager

"Close to hospital"

joannecP3040AP, Brisbane 23/11/2016

We stayed at the hotel Diana as it was close to the mater hospital and had a disability room. The room was good and was easy to use the wheelchair. The staff were very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. We have hospital visits regularly and as my brother lives out of town we will look at staying at the Diana again.

I enjoyed my stay and would stay at this hotel again. It was pleasant, easy and clean. I also took advantage of the free use of the day spa for guests, which was great. If staying for work trip would be ideal, only short taxi ride to middle of CBD, Southbank etc

"Clean and comfortable. "

Yvette T, Toowoomba 13/11/2016

We needed accommodation very close to Mater Children's Hospital and this hotel was only across the road. I found I got a better rate calling direct then using any online sites. The room was very clean and modern. Family suite includes a kitchen, spa and mini bar (reasonably priced). Close to a mini supermarket, bottle shop and lots of restaurants. Also short walk to Southbank. Also free parking and wifi!! Highly recommended.
