Excellent location for Bournemouth pier, beaches and gardens. A mixture of restaurants nearby if you don't fancy walking down the hill and back up. There was an Italian, Japanese, Indian and Thai restaurant that I saw. The hotel staff were all pleasant. Always smiling and happy to help/chat. The food was delicious and it was nice to have the cooked part of breakfast to order, rather than over steamed in a buffet style. The therapist (massage treatments) was obviously happy in her work. She was very chatty before and after massage but remained quiet during a very good treatment. Lovely relaxing room. It was lovely to hear someone praising their employer and it really showed how much she appreciated it. The rooms were clean and cosy and the decor throughout the hotel was lovely. So much so, that my friend wanted to steal the wallpaper (she didn't steal any, I hasten to add). It was quiet in the rooms and we slept well. Some might find the pool area a bit small, but I wasn't fussed. All in all, it was a lovely stay and I'll definitely book here again.

We took a group of 33 people on a bowling tour and stayed at The Collingwood for 6 nights. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and all the staff were very pleasant and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. Some of the corridors and rooms at the hotel need a little updating but overall I would highly recommend this hotel if you are considering a group booking as it is a 10 minute walk from the seafront and town centre

We had such a lovely and relaxing couples spa experience at the Eden Spa at Hotel Collingwood. From start to finish, everything was welcoming and enjoyable. A special mention to our therapist, Nicole, who was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind, friendly and professional, and clearly very good at what she does. She made the whole experience feel calm, comfortable and truly relaxing. The bar staff were also very nice and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. We left feeling completely relaxed and happy. A lovely experience that we would definitely recommend and hope to enjoy again! ✨

Our bowls tour has stayed at the Collingwood for the last 20 years. The reason is simple. Great staff, excellent service and good food. The staff are so friendly and so willing to help. The Signature rooms are spacious with air con and really clean bathrooms. The spacious car park is big enough to cope with us all coming in our own cars. We are booked in again for next year already.

My wife and I arrived as part of a Bowls Tour and stayed for 4 nights. Check in was very quick, our room was on floor 3 room 314 very spacious and clean with lots of natural light a new lift makes the trip to floor 3 very quick We had breakfast and dinner each day and the food was very nice with choices from the menu and always served hot, restaurant servers were very efficient and friendly. The lounge bar is next to the restaurant and has ample seating the bar is well stocked with plenty of choice, prices are reasonable with a happy hour between 8pm and 10pm, if you would like somewhere quieter there is also a very cosy lounge There is also an indoor pool a steam room and Sauna The Collingwood is very convenient for the town and beaches it also has free parking Marcin the Manager and his team are wonderful and do all they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible and I would not hesitate in recommending the Hotel Collingwood if you are in the area

We have just returned from a short stay in Bournemouth & stayed at The Collingwood. We had such a great stay, it is a lovely hotel, clean & well equiped beautiful rooms, friendly staff & a great atmosphere. In particular Sita & Florin in the Bubble Bar, both such friendly people, chatting to all the guests in the bar & doing every thing within their means for you to have the best experience! Although we only had a short stay, the staff really made our time in the hotel great. The hotel is in a great location only a short walk to the pier, beach, gardens & a choice of restaurants. We will definitely be back. Thank you again 💓

Had a fantastic couple of days at the Collingwood. All the staff we frendly, welcoming and very professional. Excellent service in particular from Florin behind the bar Excellent breakfast, The pool and spa were an added bonus. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Looking for a kid friendly hotel by the beach? Your search is complete! I can't recommend enough. Ideal location just a few minutes walk to the beach & Pier. Beautiful swimming pool & hot tub (also sauna for 18yrs+). Loads of card and board games in the lounge area, we loved playing these while having a drink before dinner. Great kids menu including milkshakes and pancakes for breakfast. My daughter has NEVER asked for more main course in ANY restaurant, EVER. Yet today, she did! She finished all her meal and then had TWO extra portions of the mash, as apparently it's ‘the best mash ever mummy!'. Games room with table tennis, pool & table football. Smart tvs in the room with logged in Netflix, Disney, prime etc my 2yr old was thrilled to watch Peppa on nextflix while we were getting changed for dinner! Everyone was so so friendly & helpful, if you've got kids and wanting a nice trip to the beach, you won't be disappointed. we can't wait to return next summer!

The hotel is in an excellent central location, just a few minutes' walk from Bournemouth Pier. The reception is modern and well presented, with a convenient taxi pull-in area. We stayed in a Cosy Double, which felt small. The birthday balloons left in our room were a really thoughtful touch. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was cleanliness, consistency and upkeep. Our room had marked walls, heavy dust in places, mould/hard-water staining in the bathroom, dust and mould around the windows, and a heavily limescaled kettle with residue floating in the water. We asked reception for the room to be cleaned again, but this made little noticeable difference. Elsewhere in the hotel we noticed stained carpets, chipped/peeling paint, heavy dust and a lift that didn't appear to be cleaned during our four-night stay. These are relatively simple things that would make a huge difference to the overall standard. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. Towels, bins and bed linen were not routinely changed without prompting, which we wouldn't expect during a four-night stay at a four-star hotel. There are also no air-conditioned rooms, no complimentary water, and we had to pay an additional £20 for a fridge. We would have appreciated these details and extra costs being clearer before booking. We were also placed directly below/near attic maintenance work, which often started around 8am, with loud footsteps and banging waking us. We had to squeeze past a large ladder to get to our room more often than not. We appreciate that maintenance is necessary, but room allocation and the timing of noisy work could have been more considerate. Breakfast was enjoyable and the staff were particularly friendly, attentive and accommodating. However, at around £15 per person, the continental selection was limited, no pastries laid out, and freshly made coffee such as a cappuccino or Americano cost an additional £3–£4, which felt surprising at this price point. Overall, there are some real positives - fantastic location, lovely staff and thoughtful touches - but cleanliness, maintenance and attention to detail let the hotel down. This felt more like a 2-3 star experience given the above for the price we paid.

We had a wonderful week running over the Bank Holiday. The room was ideal for us especially the walk in shower as my husband suffers from Parkinsons and struggles getting in and out of a bath. We had some tasty meals whilst there and excellent service from the staff. Our evenings were spent in the restaurant and bar where we were well looked after by Florin, Sita or Michael. We are an elderly couple and my husband had mobility needs and uses a wheelchair. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the staff were very helpful and went above and beyond. This was our first holiday in two years and the hotel was a perfect base. The meals were very tasty and a good variety. We wouldn't hesitate to book again but would seek a room without steps to it by booking more in advance.

Just returned home from this fabulous hotel. As a solo traveller, it can be daunting at times, everyone at the hotel was warm and welcoming, from the moment of check in and checkout. Special thanks to James, you're an absolute sweet heart, Michael and Sita, you're superstars! I don't know the name of everyone in the restaurant, night staff or reception, you were all wonderful and a credit to your hotel. A big warm thank you to all from the bottom of my heart ❤️

We had a wonderful stay. Everyone was friendly. At dinner and breakfast the food was amazing. There was a wide choice and everything was delicious. We were also given a 10% voucher off drinks. It was a really generous package. The room was large and spacious beds were comfortable. Shower was great. The jewel in the crown though was Annie our therapist who gave an amazing massage and left us feeling completely relaxed which was exactly what we wanted. The spa area is well maintained but small. Thank you to everyone who looked after us.

We had a fantastic couple of nights at Hotel Collingwood in Bournemouth and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a perfect location, within easy reach of the beach, town centre and everything Bournemouth has to offer. The whole hotel was also very clean and well looked after, and we were particularly pleased with how quiet our room was, which made for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The highlight has to be the staff – everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they really made us feel looked after throughout our visit. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the hotel. We also both booked treatments at the Eden Spa and absolutely loved them. It was such a relaxing experience and a lovely addition to our stay. The only small area we felt could be improved was the room, which could perhaps benefit from a little updating and modernisation. However, it was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet, so this certainly didn't detract from our experience. Overall, we had a wonderful time and came away feeling relaxed and very well looked after. A huge thank you to all the lovely staff at Hotel Collingwood for making our stay so enjoyable. This was my third year running at this hotel. Unfortunately I feel the standards have dropped. I stayed for 7 nights. The first night they said they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Another night was vanilla ice cream and another was mussels. I feel let down by all these things that were being refused. I would imagine August is one of the busiest months of the year and therefore would expect all items on the menu to be available. Whoever is doing the ordering for the kitchen needs to vastly improve on there job.

The all round service and experience was excellent. Very accommodating hospitality, especially as I had to change the room last minute to accommodate my dog. This was a very easy stress free swap. The hotel is completely dog friendly which is just brilliant. The room even had a sea view, truly amazing. Upon arrival to hotel, I was given a dog welcome goody pack which my dog was excited about and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner from the Gold lounge was absolutely delicious, I luckily had the opportunity to order from the Gold Lounge's menu, to have it served in the Bubble Lounge as I had my dog in tow. The Bubble Lounge is a cozy and very beautifully decorated bar/restaurant, I visited most evenings for dinner or some drinks and was introduced to Dorset's Bacchus wine which was wonderful. The whole hotel was so welcoming by the staff and the customers alike. Everyone was friendly, helpful and the clientele were always friendly too, I had many a conversation with visitors like myself to the hotel of an evening. The small terrace was great in an evening or to watch the eclipse as I did along with others on my stay. A further larger garden area with pool table is also a great spot. The Hotel Collingwood's location is fantastic too, it is close to amenities and the seafront with bars and restaurants close by. Along with many walking routes into Poole, Zigzag, Sandbanks or bus routes whichever suits and there is a very handy taxi service app in Bournemouth which is also pet friendly. Myself and my dog had a wonderful time staying in Hotel Collingwood, I Will definitely be back to stay again. Great value for money and fantastic cleanliness. I had a wonderful holiday in Bournemouth and hotel stay. I look forward to my visit next time so I can use the spa and pool facilities. Thank you all for a splendid weekend.

We loved our stay at the Collingwood, the staff made it special, they are amazing! Our room was perfect, clean, stylish and comfortable. The Gold Room restaurant is excellent, we had a lovely dinner followed by fantastic cocktails in the bar. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

We were very disappointed with our stay at the Collingwood Hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms really leaves a lot to be desired: a bad smell, cobwebs in the bathroom, dust, and a very dirty fan with even hair on it… The ceiling directly above the bed was also in very poor condition, with signs of damp and plaster peeling off, which was honestly quite concerning. On top of that, the room was unbearably hot with no air conditioning. We weren't expecting luxury, just a clean and properly maintained room. For the price we paid, it was extremely disappointing.

Lovely hotel , extra big up to the bar staff on the evening , made my daughters night , Florian is amazing , sorry can't remember the girls name , both lovely , clean hotel , pool lovely , has a car park , the only thing is in this heat needs air conditioning , good location

What an excellent party we had at the Collingwood Hotel! The venue was just right for the numbers (70), the food was excellent and the staff were superbly helpful.

We've just had yet another fantastic stay at Hotel Collingwood. The location, lovely rooms and delicious food are exceptional and the service is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble to make sure our stay is totally comfortable and we had some great nights in the lively bar. All staff are wonderful and we would stay nowhere else.

I recently held my 60th party at The Collingwood Hotel, in the Botanical Suite. Lily the excellent events manager was very friendly, efficient, helpful and accommodating. The function room called The Botanical Suite is airconditioned, beautifully decorated and has its own bar, such an ideal venue. The buffet we had chosen was beautifully laid out and was very tasty. Huge praise goes out to the lovely Bar Man, Floren and his team. I can't stress how much his kind and friendly approach added to the ambience and memories of the evening . Such amazing customer service and thoughtfulness, looking after us all so well, making the evening extra special and fun. Many of the guests have since commented on how impressed they were with Floren and the other staff who were helping us during the evening . I can't thank you all enough for such a happy, special, and memorable occasion, I would 100% recommend this venue for any function.

The Hotel Accommodated 43 of us for 5 days . A bowls tour from the Midlands. From start to finish we had amazing service. The food was served to a high standard, good menu and delicious. the staff could'nt have been more friendly and helpful, of note Sita who helped with the Karaoke, the gentleman who served behind the bar in the private room and sang along with us and finally Katia who went out of her way sorting all the room requests and everything else. The whole party said how much they enjoyed themselves which is a feat in itself. thank you

The location and atmosphere is great all the staff are great and the hotel is a good short walk to the town center and the beaches and there are many modes of transports that are reliable.

Great location close to the sea front with bus routes just outside. The thing that makes this hotel standout is the quality of the staff. This gives it a wonderful family feel. Well worth a visit.

I have a fantastic experience with Collingwood Hotel. Welcoming, accommodating, clean and peaceful. I was surprised by the amount of various offers there were at the hotel. Massage room, swimming room, play room, fitness class and salsa class. Lovely, almost intimate seating outside with lots of ‘green' around. Both, beach and town centre within walking distance. Staff friendly but professional.

I had a wonderful stay at the Collingwood hotel with my 2 kids. The staff were very friendly, the kids loved the pool and the location was excellent. We had a perfect sized room and a lovely restaurant across the road and the beach close by. The breakfast and food available at the hotel restaurant was very tasty and there was great entertainment by way of kareoke the first night and the games room was lots of fun. I would definitely visit this hotel again.

We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding. The location suited our needs perfectly – being so close to both the church for our ceremony and the beach for our wedding photos was absolutely ideal. The included bridal suite was also incredibly luxurious, making our stay even more special. The whole package here is out of this world, matched only by the top-tier service you receive from start to finish. We want to say a huge thank you to every single member of staff – this was a true team effort, from looking after our guests so well to the seamless food delivery throughout the day. A special mention must go to Florin, who was so engaging, funny and made everyone feel so welcome. We had a wonderful stay at the Collingwood Hotel last week and would happily return. The location is fantastic—just a 3-minute walk to the beach. One of the highlights of our trip was waking up at 5:00 am to watch the sunrise over the sea, and it was absolutely worth it. The staff were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The food was lovely with plenty of choice, and everything was very well organised throughout our stay. The waitresses were especially friendly and efficient, making every meal a pleasant experience. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable stay in a great location. We would definitely recommend the Collingwood Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable seaside break.

This is the second time we visited Hotel Collingwood in Bournemouth. The location is excellent next to the sea and our room was comfortable and air-conditioning which was needed in the hot weather. The staff and Reception were very friendly and helpful. We had lovely meals in the Gold room restaurant with really good service. the kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the games room and the adults had a cocktail or two in the lovely bar, this is the perfect hotel for families visiting Bournemouth very friendly with excellent facilities. We will be back soon .

Overall, we had a mixed experience at this hotel. It has some good features, but there are also areas that would benefit from improvement. The biggest positive is the location. It's only around a five-minute walk to the beach and close to shops, restaurants and other attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring Bournemouth. The onsite parking was also very convenient. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a menu to order from rather than a buffet, which felt much fresher. We also really liked the refillable water system – it's a fantastic idea and a great environmentally friendly touch. Unfortunately, the room let the hotel down. It was quite small, dated and in need of some maintenance. There were cracked bathroom tiles, mould in the shower and a hole in the bathroom door, which made it feel a little neglected. The biggest issue for us was the heat. The hotel, particularly the bedrooms, was extremely hot during our stay. We asked if an air conditioning unit was available and were told there weren't any. However, about an hour later, another member of our party was offered one, which was disappointing and felt inconsistent. A small fan was provided for our room, but it wasn't powerful enough to make much difference, and the room remained so hot and stuffy that it was uncomfortable to spend time in. Finally, although the staff weren't rude, they did seem quite uninterested during our stay. It was an exceptionally hot weekend, so I appreciate they were probably under pressure and feeling exhausted, which may have contributed to this. Overall, the excellent location, convenient parking and good breakfast are definite strengths, but the condition of the rooms, the lack of adequate cooling and the inconsistent service meant the stay didn't quite meet our expectations.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the family suite was spacious and fans were provided in this heatwave! The room was clean and had we appreciated the toiletries provided. We loved the fact that you could walk down to the beach from the hotel and the parking was an added extra! We did have a dip in the pool which was again clean and easy to access. Breakfast was included as part of our stay and hit the spot with the whole family! We loved the option of having food cooked to order. We also checked out the games room which was a hit with the kids too! Overall a great gem and would definitely stay here in the future!

We stayed here for three nights for a family break. The weather was hot, it felt like Spain only the beach is better! Clean soft sand, lots of space for the kids to play and refreshing swims. The hotel is perfect for families, our room had lots of space and a lovely bathroom. The kids loved the pool and we spent the evening playing in the games room. We also stayed in for dinner, the food is reasonably priced with lots of choice for adults and kids. I think we found our new favourite hotel.

Our bathroom floor was completely broken and popping up from the floor with chips of tile falling off. We reported twice and they just taped it up with masking tape and offered nothing to compensate. Paid full price for a very poor and dangerous bathroom and the finish of the hotel is tired in general, would not recommend.

Arrived with a group from our retirement club. Warm welcome, comfortable roomy accommodation, excellent food and service. From the time we arrived, throughout our stay, the friendly staff ensured that every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations Highly recommended

Through business & pleasure I have stayed at 6 different hotels in Bournemouth and I am pleased to say that the Hotel Collingwood is the top of my lists of hotels used. Staff are a very important part of any hotel and the fact that the same staff are there year on year suggests that they are happy to remain there. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff, they are always so helpful and courteous. Most rooms are large, and all rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The noise level is very minimal considering it is situated in a busy area of the town. I have had the pleasure over the pass eleven years of completing a large group booking and I have to say that it has been a please to work with the current manager and the current assistant manager.

I had a lovely hot stone massage at the spa. She was very kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable from the moment i arrived. The massage was very relaxing and stress relieving. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a relaxing massage.

Excellent This was our second visit and once again we were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely and comfortable, with superb staff who genuinely go out of their way to help and make sure your stay is enjoyable. It's an easy walk to the main town and beach, and the hotel offers a good range of food and drink. Every member of staff seems focused on making your stay relaxing and comfortable. There's also plenty of on‑site parking, which is a real bonus. I would totally recommend.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left nothing was too much trouble. The staff were amazing - so friendly even pre-empting what we needed before we asked for it. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and it had everything we needed. We stayed for dinner which was well presented and very tasty. The waiting staff were lovely. Breakfast was lovely- cooked option on hot plates and all freshly cooked. The waiting staff again were super efficient- I asked for a croissant and by the time I got the butter and jam it was waiting for me. We had hot stone massages which were amazing. Nicole was so good. On check out we enquired about leaving the car in the car park and for a charge of £5 we were able to leave it all day - so we could enjoy our day in Bournemouth without having to move and find another car park. Would definitely recommend the Hotel Collingwood and we will definitely be returning.

Excellent stay in Bournemouth at this Hotel the staff are fantastic really good breakfast and a nice afternoon tea for my wife's Birthday. Spa is ok but certainly Not a boutique standard. The Bar staff are absolutely Top drawer both were excellent and the people skills are first class . Cocktails were great. Room was very nice but again not boutique standard.

We had a last minute change here after the hotel on east cliff we originally booked in January had appalling reviews. My goodness are we glad we did. It is the old fashioned service which is sadly lacking in most hotels now. We were greeted by friendly staff and this theme stayed! They have a great lounge bar and terrace with drinks offers. Their food and service is outstanding. My in-laws had a bath in their room and they would have struggled with this so the room was swapped immediately and their luggage moved for them. We ate in the restaurant and bar area and the food was first rate and certainly comparable in price to other restaurants in Bournemouth. Car parking is free if you book direct with the hotel. Comfortable beds. Fans in the rooms for temperature control. Sita and her male colleague in the bar deserve special mention for unfailing hospitality and good laughs. If you need anything doing, it is never any trouble to them. However all the staff seem happy and work extremely hard. Mention to Izzy at breakfast most mornings. She was so efficient and smiley. We would return in a heartbeat and are just sorry we live so far away! Thankyou team Collingwood

Absolutely fabulous stay at the Collingwood with group of 13. Signature rooms were great, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Lovely freshly cooked breakfasts and delicious evening meals for a great price and with the leisure facilities and games room, what more can you need. Will definitely come back.

Only stayed for one night but we were really impressed with the hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, accommodation was good, comfy beds, good quality bed linen and towels and a fabulous shower. We had two small dogs with us and the hotel was very dog friendly plus a bonus of a games room for table tennis, table football and pool. Booking directly with the hotel we got free parking which is a real bonus in this part of Bournemouth. Only as short walk opposite the hotel down to the sea front. The breakfast was very good and I liked that it was cooked to order to the table, this saves lots of waste and preferably to food that is being kept warm for ages in a standard hotel buffet. The hotel is very well decorated and I would definitely recommend although would request a room not facing the road next time although it didn't bother us too much.

We have just come back from a short stay at the collingwood, it was a pretty smooth stay the staff were wonderful and accommodating, there were a few things that niggled me, when using the pool which is quite small there were children's swimming lessons happening so not at all relaxing with a swimming teacher singing her head off to small children, the changing rooms are also very small only 2-3 people max at a time could change in there. The rooms were quite small as were the beds our room also was not that clean we had a huge dirty hand print on the glass door which didn't lock either, our sink also took an age to drain. This place is a pretty good base for being close to everything, the bar is great but be warned no cocktails after 10pm so we were told, unfortunately for us it was just a bit too old and dated so we wouldn't visit again but for price and location it's good and you get what you pay for.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it, especially to solo female travelers. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, welcomed, and comfortable. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure every guest felt at home. The location is fantastic, just steps from the beach, making it easy to enjoy morning walks, beautiful sunsets, and the relaxing ocean breeze throughout the day. The spa was absolutely beautiful, clean, and incredibly relaxing, the perfect place to unwind. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the entire property was maintained to a very high standard. What stood out most was the genuine hospitality, peaceful atmosphere, and attention to detail. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others 🤍

Good friendly professional service. Our room window wouldn't close - reported it to reception and it was fixed in 15 minutes! Good location, very good pool and excellent service at breakfast with vegan options and a good range of options generally. Games room - excellent. No missing balls/equipment and all free. Cannot fault our stay. Highly recommended!

We booked a relaxing spa day for my birthday with an afternoon tea & prosecco. All the staff members we encountered were lovely and the service was excellent throughout the day. The afternoon tea was delicious and we really enjoyed everything included. The spa therapist unfortunately became unwell (not a surprise in the heat!) so only one treatment was possible for our group however we are local so the staff were very apologetic and arranged for us to come back when it was convenient and have the other treatments which was great as the treatments were very good. The one thing that I would say was not great is the spa area would benefit from would be more space and more suitable seating. It wasn't very relaxing due to the amount of kids splashing everyone, fighting and screaming on both occasions that we visited. The only seating indoors are beanbags which isn't great for those with mobility issues or the older generation i saw struggling quite a bit. There's a lovely sundeck/garden area outside the pool room which is great in the sunny months as its a lovely little suntrap to sit and have a drink. Overall the experience was good and if the pool was more spa day friendly I would happily visit again.

The hotel is well situated for all occasions, staff and food excellent and great rooms. We stayed for 5 nights and were so pleased with the room and such pleasant helpful staff. Plenty of room in the lounge and a great balcony to sit in the sun, a perfect place for any trip to Bournemouth

i was in a party of 36 for our bowls tour, the check in was quick and easy ,you registerd you number plate at check in which you were not charged to park,the hotel is situated at the top of a hill ,so be aware if you have walking issues, but bournemouth itself is quite hilly, room 205 was our allocated room ,this was a large room with a double bed and a single bed as well, bathroom /shower room was very nice(although the tray was very slippy) ,tea/coffee ,wardrobe and some draws for storage , the added bonus was the air con ,(note not every room has this }the hotel has a lift as well,this hotel has a spa and pool which is free for residents as is the games room, the breakfast and evening meals were very nice and hot ,the bar prices were a tad expensive for our liking ,but it was a hotel,there was a large outdoor seating area ,one thing it did lack was no entertainment at night ,all the staff were very helpful and friendly, would i return in the future the answer would be yes,

We recently had a fantastic stay with our group of 38, and everything was absolutely seamless. The staff were incredibly efficient, warm, and welcoming from the moment we arrived, providing excellent service throughout our visit. Our meals were good and arrived impressively quickly, which is no small feat for a large party! A massive plus for us was the coach parking—having it right on-site, close to the town centre and pier, and just five minutes from the sea made our logistics incredibly easy. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel Collingwood is an idea location for exploring what Bournemouth has to offer with the luxury of having its own car park for guests that have booked direct. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful going beyond what is required to make your stay a positive experience. A bedrooms benefit from having up to bathrooms that are clean and tidy. The hotel has its own bar offering a good range of beers with some from local breweries together with a good range of wines, spirits and soft drinks. The restaurant offers an extensive range of breakfast options with both continental and various cooked options which are cooked to order. On this occasion I was staying with a group and evening meals were again in the restaurant. Again the options gave a very good choice for all and all food came out hot despite the large number being catered for. The Collingwood offers good value for money with a warm friendly atmosphere thanks to the attitude of the staff - will be returning again when visiting Bournemouth.

This is our 5th stay there and would. Not. Consider stayi Hong anywhere else in Bournemouth the staff are all helpful, experienced and work together as a team to make the stay enjoyable , relaxing and makes you want to return as soon as possible. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough…and would recommend it without hesitation…..guarantee you will want to go back many times…

The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious, our room smart and comfortable, and the location was central and perfect for accessing the town and beach on foot. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area and ending the day with a relaxing swim and jacuzzi in the spa.

We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is absolutely fantastic. All the staff were extremely friendly. An extra special thank you to the staff at breakfast staff. They were so friendly and positive. It's the small things like that that make a stay memorable. The hotel has been decorated very tastefully and is clean and modern. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach and town centre. Parking was also a breeze, uncover just behind the hotel. Finally the breakfast was top notch. The pool was lovely (just a bit busy, but not the hotels fault) Would highly recommend a stay here and we will be back!

We stayed as a family for one night to celebrate my husbands 40th. It was a huge success due to finding this wonderful hotel where we made lovely memories and benefitted in so many ways by booking directly. We loved the kind touches for making it special, the swimming pool and games room, the cleanliness throughout, the room was fantastic, hot water, location and friendly staff. We booked a package to include an 3 course meal and enjoyed the most incredible tasting meal, good portions and at incrediblle value. We will definitely be back thanks to absolutely everybody involved in making hotel collingwood such a great place.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Collingwood and enjoyed the pool on the bank holiday weekend. As coeliacs, we need reliable gluten‑free options and I was genuinely impressed by how good the GF breakfast was. Everything was safely prepared and absolutely delicious! The service throughout our stay was excellent, but I want to give a special mention to Rihanna who went above and beyond at breakfast to bring our meals, juice and tea bags direct from the kitchen to minimise cross contamination by other guests. She's a star! We'd also like to thank Mercin whose friendliness and attention to detail made a real difference - customer service at its best! We highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for great hospitality.

We booked this hotel for my daughter's 21st birthday party. It was amazing! The room was beautiful, the staff were great. The Barman Floin was absolutely brilliant. The amount of guests that commented about him to me was high. He was so friendly, so happy and just looked like he was really enjoying himself whilst working. The buffet was lovely and there was plenty of it. I would Absolutly book this venue again for another event. I would definitely ask if we were able to have Floin as our barman again.

The hotel is conveniently placed close to the beaches and the centre of town. Both within walking distance. It has spa facilities, a games room, and ample space both inside and outside for an afternoon coffee or an after-dinner drink. Our room was comfortable with tea and coffee-making facilities. Meals were ample and delicious. I found the staff to be lovely and very helpful. Camilla was at the reception, and she kindly gave me some wonderful advice on local sightseeing. We ended up going to Hengistbury Head for a lovely walk. I really like Bournemouth, and we were blessed by good weather on our short stay. The beaches are well-kept, although I recommend staying away from the main beach if you want to avoid noisy ball games encroaching on your space. I love the wooded spot on top of the cliffs, which has spectacular views, and again, is close to the hotel. I will return, for sure.

My brother and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It is close to the Bournemouth International Centre, beach, pier and town centre. Rooms were lovely and breakfast was superb. Bacon was first class and eggs done to perfection. All staff were friendly and attentive. Car parking a real bonus. We look forward to staying with you again.

Had a wonderful stay here in April. The hotel is very central with a car park for residents. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant food was excellent. Freshly cooked and lots of options to choose from, which was important for me being vegetarian. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with tea/coffee making facilities provided. The hotel also has a spa which we didn't use this time. We had a quick peep in and were very impressed by the pool and cleanliness. Definitely next time! We got a really good price for our stay, so were blown away by the facilities and service provided. We will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely weekend in Bournemouth staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly. We loved spending time in the bar area. We had dinner on the first night and it was delicious. Our room was a cosy room newly decorated and charming. We had free parking included in our stay and breakfast on both mornings, which was freshly cooked and plenty of things to choose from. The beach was very close to the hotel just a few minutes walk, the weather was great, lots of time spent walking and exploring. Already planning our return trip.

Room ok- could do with being updated. Bed and pillow firm and door didn't seem to shut properly. Bathroom good. Communal areas nice/ comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast poor- lack of choice of fresh fruit- cooked breakfast disappointing. Lack of organisation when fire alarm sounded at 9am. Lots of steps from car park and to bedrooms. Feel that I overpaid….

In the lead-up to the event, she was incredibly organised, responsive, and genuinely cared about making everything perfect. On the day itself, she handled everything seamlessly, making sure we could relax and enjoy every moment. Even afterwards, her follow-up and attention to detail were just as impressive – she truly went above and beyond. The food was outstanding. We chose the grazing table, and it was not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious – our guests are still talking about it! Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional, and so helpful, which really added to the whole experience. Our room for the evening was lovely – comfortable, clean, and the perfect place to unwind after such a special celebration. Kasia and Marcin lead the team exceptionally well, setting high standards that are clearly reflected throughout the hotel. They are always available if you need them. Even when the hotel is busy with functions, it remains calm, organised, and consistently delivers a high standard of service. The owners clearly put great care into creating a luxurious yet welcoming retreat, adding thoughtful personal touches and beautiful decorations for occasions like Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. Our family room on the third floor was comfortable, well-equipped, and full of natural light, with lovely views over Bournemouth. It had everything we needed, including a hairdryer, iron, tea and coffee facilities, and beautifully scented toiletries. There was plenty of storage space and storage. A special highlight was how much our 5-year-old son loved the space. The smaller window became his own little den—perfect for playing, colouring, and relaxing. With the small bedside unit, a chair, and bedside lamp, it turned into a cosy nook that really sparked his imagination. He especially loved drawing the curtains and making it his own little hideaway. The hotel offers a wonderfully relaxing experience, with a warm swimming pool that has easy step access, along with a jacuzzi and sauna for complete comfort. Guests are provided with fluffy towels and complimentary water, and there are plenty of comfortable lounge chairs around the pool to unwind. There's also a well-equipped games room featuring table football, table tennis, and a pool table. In the evenings, the bar becomes a cozy spot where families and couples can enjoy a variety of board and games together—such a thoughtful and enjoyable touch. One of the highlights was the night time treat for children, who are given cookies and milk before bed. This small gesture meant a lot, especially as my son enjoys having milk at bedtime. Overall, this hotel feels like a hidden gem—so good, it's hard not to want to keep it a secret! He adores this hotel and is always sad to leave—which says it all. We're already looking forward to our next stay.

We had the best stay at this hotel, we were lucky enough to be in staying in the mini heatwave and wow it was incredible. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they really bring the joyful vibes to the hotel! The food was incredible, huge compliments to the chefs, a great variety of options on the menu to choose from too, and they catered very well to my son's allergies. Could not have asked for a better stay we will be back very soon!

We enjoyed a 3 night package that included a free visit to the Russell Cole museum, use of spa facilities and a cream tea. We also enjoyed a breakfast and 3 course dinner every evening. Super friendly staff, including the hotel manager. Lovely clean tastefully decorated bedrooms and hotel rooms. Easy access to town and beaches. The slight down point is the size of the pool, it is a little small but if you pick your time right you can have it all to yourselves. Super place super deal.

The guy on reception was prescriptive, I would describe his welcome as -'ok' but not great. He wasnt warm and friendly or smiley for someone that is front of house. He answered our questions but didn't go the extra mile. You are given 1 key 🔑 to open your room. There is a lift to rooms. Location 8/10 5 minutes to beach 5 minutes to shopping centre 5 minutes to takeaways 5 minutes to restaurants The location is great - However there is a short steep hill towards the beach. If you have mobility issues this may be an issue for you. Facilities 9/10 Eden Spa - You can book massages, facials onsite. QR CODES in your room. Free use of swimming pool . Towels from reception. Lovely warm pool. Treat yourself to a dip Games room - pool table, table tennis Parking 8/10🚗 You park behind the hotel in the underground carpark. Plenty of spaces. You pay at reception when you checkin it's £12.50 per night. Don't do what we did - when we open the boot it hit the roof of the underground car park. 🫣 Room 111 - Family Room  9/10 1 Double bed, 1 single bed Beds were clean and comfortable. There is a large fan in your room Hairdryer. 1 wardrobe and a dressing table area. Complimentary tea /coffee and biscuits. Ensuite 🚿 Shower Ensuite is super clean, complimentary shower gel. The power of the shower is great and very warm. Lovely fluffy towels. Breakfast 10/10🍳 We went for breakfast at 9am and wasnt too busy Breakfast was included with our booking. Teas/coffees, toast, yoghurt and fruit just help yourself. The ladies serving in the restaurant were lovely, warm, welcoming and helpful. Hot breakfast - order taken at your table and was amazing quality and hot. I had little breakfast and husband had breakfast bap. Other Food You can get Bar food or you can dine in the Gold Restaurant. I can't comment as we didn't use. Cleanliness 10/10 🧹 The hotel is very clean. From reception, to the restaurant to the bedrooms - immaculately clean. No complaints at all. As an event organiser, I can't praise this hotel highly enough. The facilities are great, the food is amazing, and the location is perfect. But what makes me keep coming back to run our weekend dance events at this venue, is the team. From check-in to check-out, every member of the Collingwood team goes above and beyond to make sure that the entire experience is friendly and welcoming as well as completely professional. Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to ensuring that our events run smoothly, and all of our guests are treated to a wonderful experience whenever we visit. And on top of all that - what a great dance floor!

Although we hadn't booked in advance, the team kindly accommodated us despite the restaurant being very busy with a group staying at the hotel, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, with a warm ambiance that made it perfect for a relaxed evening. The food was absolutely outstanding, beautifully presented and full of flavour. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu offered a great variety, and everything we tried was cooked to perfection. The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the evening. I will definitely be booking again on my next stay

We had a lovely family stay here. The location is perfect — just a short walk to the beach and town centre, which made everything so easy with kids. The swimming pool, spa, and games room were great, and we really appreciated the board games for relaxed evenings. The Easter decorations were a beautiful touch too. Day after booking and 2days before meant to arrive the hotel rang up and said there was a 'glitch' in system and my room cancelled. Lady on phone said they could accommodate 2 single rooms then another lady jumped on call and said one of the singles just gone!!!!! Funny that! I questioned why I wouldnt get priority and she said "they booked correct room". Very dismissive, unprofessional and EXTERMELY poor customer service. I was going to book a large group booking for the summer but 100% will not be now.

We have just spent two nights at the Hotel Collingwood and what a pleasure. All public spaces and bedrooms are immaculate and decorated, with flair and imagination, to the highest standard. Dinner and breakfast food was of the highest quality with an excellent range on offer and beautifully presented. Well done Chefs. All of the Staff, receptionists, waitresses, etc. were happy, smiling, knowledgeable, helpful and really helped make our visit very special. James deserves special mention. We highly recommend.

We recently stayed at the Collingwood Hotel Bournmouth.it is a good quality small family run hotel The rooms are cmfortable and the food is very good it as many returning clients and is close to beech and Bournmouth town centre Allin all it was a very plesant break

We took 47 bridge players there for a long weekend. It was our second time there, and they managed to be even more amazing that last time. The rooms are lovely, food gorgeous (and not too poncy), facilites excellent, but above all the staff are just perfect. Nothing is too much trouble for them (I found out later they've won awards for their customer service). I didn't hear a negative comment from the players throughout the whole weekend - and plenty of "wow!"s. We've already booked for next year.

The staff at the Collingwood were fantastic; from reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping. The food was excellent and the room comfortable and well equipped. My only gripe is the piped music in the lounge area. Seems to be the norm in hotels but I can't understand why!

Booked one night here through secret escapes and was really happy with what we found. Booking included B & B and three course diner, parking and use of the pool. Check in was nice and easy and friendly. Parking under cover at rear of property. Nice room, decorated well and clean. We made use of the pool and hot tub which was a nice too. There's a games room too but we didn't use that. Evening meal was really really good. Again staff all really helpful and friendly. I'm a fussy eater but was catered for with no problems. Lovely bar area where we had a relax and few drinks. The guy on the bar (I think his name was Florin) was great. Had great night sleep and breakfast was good too. Great choice and served to your table so no fighting a buffet like in some hotels. Overall and great night stay and would recommend and use again. The only negative would be that the lift is being replaced and my wife has mobility issues at time but we were offered help with luggage and we was notified about the lift at time of booking so was our choice. It great to see a hotel spend money on its property and improve the facilities.

We had a fantastic time at the Collingwood hotel , made us feel really welcome and totally relaxed, nothing was to much trouble, food excellent, rooms spectacular and very clean , swimming pool fabulous! The staff are so friendly and welcoming making sure that your stay is fabulous! I have been using this hotel for 20 years and believe me the last 10 years have completely been transformed into a lovely friendly welcoming environment for all ages ! We have met so many wonderful people and what a great hospitality team they have ! There like family

As usual we had a super stay at Hotel Collingwood, Bournemouth. All Staff were very helpful. As we have been going for over 30 years we are aware of what's good and what's not. We enjoyed all our meals in the Restaurant. There is a wide choice both at breakfast and the evening meal. It was a shame we had to cut our break to 4 nights, not the 7 as originally booked but hopefully we will be booking again for a break in the Autumn.

We were delighted with this exceptionally stylish hotel. Rooms and public spaces are very well appointed and decorated to a really high standard. The staff were very helpful and could not have been more attentive and all with a willing smile which says so much about the hotel and its management. All in all a great stay thank you.

Booked this hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast package and, was not disappointed. The hotel itself is your typical older seaside hotel, so you will always expect some wear and minor decor issues. It is however very clean and furnished to a high standard. There is a nice bar area and games room and the pool/spa is a good place to pass a few rainy hours. Dinner and breakfast was also good and didn't go hungry. Staff were exceptional, from check-in, bar and waiting staff, all were polite, friendly and went above and beyond to improve our stay.

We really liked this hotel. The location means you are minutes away from the beach and bars, restaurants and shops. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were helpful. The breakfast was also very good.

The Collingwood was in a perfect location for our night at the Bournemouth International Centre, our room was a cosy room small but ideal for our two night stay clean and a comfy bed and a lovely en suite shower and toilet, the service in the reception, bar and restaurant was 1st class every one was friendly and helpful, the bar area and restaurant were beautifully decorated and we had no need to go out to find a pub on our first night and the added bonus at the hotel was the indoor swimming pool hot tub and sauna

We booked the Collingwood as a short break and I am surprised we have never found this lovely hotel before now as we often visit and stay in Bournemouth for shows. Its in a very convenient position and a short walk from the town and theatres. Everything about it was really good, staff , food and our room. We had a upgraded room but the Cosy room look nice too but obviously smaller. Kasia showed us the smaller room for comparison because we were interested in booking the hotel for a reunion needing to book several rooms next year. We came home and suggested this venue to our friends and now it has been booked . There are two function rooms suitable for a big party, a large conference room with a bar and a smaller lounge which will be ideal for our group. [photos attached] There is a lovely Spa too for guests to have free use of the warm Pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna. All staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and Barman/waiter Florin really couldn't have done any more to make our evening special at dinner. The young man the next night was great too and a few others there who stay regularly seemed to know him . The lady who served breakfast was very efficient too as was the receptionist and the manager who was around. We are really looking forward to going back to the Collingwood and can see why so many guests return.

We had a wonderful family stay at Hotel Collingwood. It's incredibly kid-friendly, with an amazing pool that the children didn't want to leave. The water feature was their favourite part. The games room was a big hit with the whole family and kept everyone entertained. A special mention to the staff in particular Lily and Kasia , who really went above and beyond on Pancake Day to make the children feel included and excited – such a lovely touch that made our stay feel extra special. A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for families and plenty to keep the kids happy. We'll definitely be returning!

Stayed for a night after seeing a show at BIC, great location as it's only a 5 minute walk away. Downhill there but uphill back!! Hotel room was lovely, we stayed on the ground floor. We had Sunday lunch which was good, sadly only one other couple eating in the restaurant with us. Lily very efficient and attentive. Breakfast was really lovely and plenty of choices, freshly cooked full Dorset breakfast, staff at breakfast really friendly and nothing was too much for them to do. Overall would recommend this hotel

My company booked me into this pleasant Hotel. They had booked direct so I had complimentary car parking. I was booked a Signature room that was spacious and comfy. The room seemed to be newly decorated and everything was very clean. Although I didn't use the Spa it looked clean and welcoming. The best thing about my trip were the staff. From the moment you arrive everyone is warm and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was also excellent. I am already looking at dates when I can return with my family.

Lovely friendly hotel, good location on the West Cliff in Bournemouth. Very friendly and efficient staff they are a credit to the hotel. Good free parking, easy booking in and out. Good facilities rooms warm and clean with en-suite facilities. Excellent restaurant and bar. Near to all amenities beach town.Will definitely use again.

Beautiful hotel with great interiors and amazing staff! My partner and I had a wonderful visit, the room was perfect. The spa is lovely with a pool jacuzzi and sauna, I also had a relaxing massage! The restaurant is elegant and food above expectations!! The best bit are the team who are super friendly and helpful! We had a perfect getaway.

The hotel is nice enough, we had a cozy room and it was fine, but a little dated. The pool, bar and restaurant areas were nice and the staff were mostly very pleasant. We were surprised not to get any water in the room, and then to be charged a deposit to be given bottles of filtered water … which they charge for (this apparently is donated but you don't have a choice). Breakfast was disappointing as there was a supplement for any smoked salmon which we have always been offered as standard. As a pescatarian who can not eat meat, this is my favourite option to have at a hotel. When I asked the manager to explain why you could have a full English with a large selection of meat items or eggs with 3 rashers of bacon why smoked salmon was sold as a premium. He became very defensive and argumentative and refused to offer any solution for me other then I could have a vegan breakfast. This was not appealing at all, as this is often very highly processed food, and felt very short sighted. I explained that I would be paying £15 to have my daughter join us for breakfast and it was her birthday. For £15 I would expect her to be able to have the full menu without supplement. But the manager outright refused to offer us anything. He then said we could have the herring as this was cheaper (which is strange as it has the same charge). This made me very undervalued as a customer. His attitude was quite sarcastic and dismissive. In the end we decided to ask for a refund on our pre-paid breakfast and take our custom elsewhere. the hotel agreed to this and sorted with no additional fuss which we were happy about. We had a really nice breakfast at where we got everything we wanted plus extras for a better price and friendly service. Also please note that if you don't book direct you also have to pay 12.50 a day for parking. Overall the hotel is fine and in a good location. The manager made us unwelcome and there are a few hidden charges and so we will not return, which is a shame as we would have been repeat customers over the next 3 years whilst our daughter is at uni.

Well what can we say , the location of the hotel is perfect, a short walk into town with lots to do . The reception team were really pleasant when we arrived and soon had us in our room . We had a signature room which is absolutely fantastic and so comfy and spacious. We had a deal where a 3 course meal included every night of our stay , well all i can say is fantastic especially the Sunday lunch of roast pork the whole deal is such good value for money. The atmosphere in restaurant and bar area is really good and staff make you feel so welcome. We also used the pool area which is so clean and relaxing. We can not fault anything about this place 😁 a big shout out to James and also whoever was working with him last night, really made us feel special 👍. Thanks again everyone there.

A group of us took 62 bridge players went to Hotel Collingwood for 4 nights. The feedback was that this is a very good hotel and we were all made to feel very comfortable and welcome. For several months before our stay, Marcin and Kasia (Manager and Deputy Manager) listened to our requirements, acted upon that info and communicated in a clear and timely way. This set things up very well. They could not do any more and acted very quickly if there were any concerns. The managers are very high profile around the hotel - nothing is missed or forgotten. The staff are a key asset - all were incredibly helpful, can do, fun, friendly and incredibly well trained - so were very efficient. They took orders and served a 3 course meal, to 62, in little over an hour without anybody feeling rushed. Fantastic. This is exactly what we wanted as we had evening bridge planned. The food was very good overall. Breakfasts were superb - freshly cooked to order very good choice, beautifully presented and excellent quality. Lovely fresh fruit, yoghurt and toast too. Lunches in the bar were great - a very good choice, good quality ingredients and nicely made and presented. Dinners were good to very good - sensible choice of starters, mains and desserts. Plates were piping hot and food very nicely presented. Especially popular were the fish (mains and starters), beef dishes and the desserts. Portion size was generous. Most of the rooms have been refurbished . Obviously in a Victorian building you get a range of sizes and styles but we had no complaints. Especially noted were that rooms were spotlessly clean and bathrooms, small but new and with big showers. Many in our group used and very much enjoyed the pool and the Spa. The treatments were very good and professionally done. This area was a big bonus. The Botanical Room, where we held the bridge, was a good size, all laid out for us and the staff helped things run like clockwork. The hotel is well located - easy walk to pier, Westbourne, cinema etc.. I cannot fault this hotel and it's superb managers and staff. To take 62 people away for 4 nights and come back with praise from so many is no mean feat. Thank you to all, especially Marcin and Kasia, for making our stay a great success.

Well, what can I say. We've just returned from taking 25 couples to our dancing weekend and we all had a ball. Martin and all the staff could not have done anymore to make our stay more pleasurable. Lovely rooms, great food ( especially if you're a Vegan or Vegetarian) and fantastic service. We all loved it so much we've booked for next year already! Thank you Marcin 😊

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for New Years Eve. My wife needs gluten free and dairy free food and both the dinner menu and the breakfast menu were fully geared up for this so we both could have an amazing meal and breakfast. The staff were superb throughout our stay and the hotel itself was fantastic

Booked a celebration of life with the extremely helpful Lily who support me and ensured everything was taken care of prior to the funeral day so I was completely relaxed . Our family and friends all ended up staying here the night before and after the funeral. All the staff were so welcoming, looked after us in the bar, welcomed us on arrival from the funeral even though we were 45 mins earlier than expected. Served us tea and coffee immediately and served our delicious, plentiful hot buffet early ! Breakfast was cooked from an extensive menu and could not be faulted fresh, hot and tasty. Decor pleasing and everywhere very clean. Near to town and beach and a spa ! Highly recommend, great value

We had a lovely time at the Blue bird lounge for a Baby Shower. Great room and facilities, staff before and during went above and beyond. Nothing too much trouble. Afternoon Tea and drinks package enjoyed by all.

This is our second year at the Collingwood for our works Christmas party. The reason we returned for a second year is because we were extremely impressed by the service, food, environment and personal touch that we received from the Collingwood team. we are pleased to say that the second year didn't disappoint either. Lily was awaiting our arrival in the lobby with her warm friendly smile and directed us to out table, we had yet another thoroughly enjoyable night, thank you.

Thursday 1st January we arrived at Hotel Collingwood to start preparing for a wedding. I cant fault anyone the team did everything they could to support me (MOH) the bride and the whole wedding party. Late minute food changes, room service for breakfast and shots to claim the nerves nothing was to much bother for them even the kids playing. The hotel was spotless,1 small issue was the smell from a blocked drain but they was doing all they could to fix the issue and only affected a small area but was out of their control. The guest all had an amazing time and complemented the food. Thank you to the whole team who helped make this special day a breeze. Katie

We have just returned after a wonderful three day stay at the hotel, for our wedding reception. From the moment we booked a year ago, until the second we left Marcin and his team could not have been more professional and accommodating. During our stay every single member of staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran like clock work. Our family and friends have all had nothing but praise for the hotel as a whole and have said we couldn't have chosen a better place. It was ideal for all ages with the games room and swimming pool being a big hit with the younger members of our family. The food was delicious and the rooms comfortable. We will certainly be returning.

We were at the hotel for the Christmas 4 night package, and it was excellent. From the moment we arrived we were looked after with our luggage taken to our rooms. We were served Afternoon Tea after arrival, and from then we enjoyed excellent meals and buffets throughout our stay. The rooms were all comfortable and clean. There was entertainment every night, and all of the acts were very good. But it was the staff that really made the difference, they couldn't do enough for us, including the manager Marcin who was very hands on. They were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. We are hoping to return next Christmas.

For the first time ever, we went away for Christmas and we chose Hotel Collingwood. We were apprehensive initially, unsure whether staying in a hotel would be a good move. But we were pleasantly surprised. The staff made the experience memorable. All were relaxed and friendly and went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Special mention to Sita and Florin who are unforgettable characters and natural entertainers. Although neither were actually hired in entertainers (although there were some of course too). We made quite a few new friends which we hadn't really expected and that was partially due to the excellent atmosphere in the hotel. All of the food served was well presented, tasty and plentiful. The hotel is dog friendly and although we don't have any pets, it was nice to meet lots of dogs and their owners. The room was clean and comfortable in the main. The only negatives were the size of the bathroom which was too small and the water pressure which was too low. Hence four stars rather than five. That said, we will return but to a room with a bigger bathroom.

What can I say just returned from an absolutely fantastic 1 night stay in this hotel. Was a bit apprehensive because the price was so good for what we were offered but I should not have worried as the hotel 100 % lived up to the offer. Check in was 3pm but we arrived at 11am and were told we could use the spa straight away. This was amazing we had it all to ourselves it had a hot tub hydrotherapy pool and sauna the whole area was clean and tidy. We checked in and our little cosy room was very cosy and had everything we needed and the bedding was freshly laundered and smelt lovely. Our deal included a 3 course dinner which was a festive meal which was simply delicious and to top it off they had happy hour from 8 to 10. We had a wonderful waiter who really was intensive towards us the conservation flowed both ways sorry did not take his name however he was a keen traveller like us. Had a lovely night sleep and in the morning we had a very good breakfast we chose avocado and eggs on sourdough. In all this hotel had everything and more that we needed and for 120.00 including parking could not ask for more.

The best Christmas party ever we had. I am booked for 15 people. The foods was delecious and presentation was standing. The staff was friendly and helpful. I organised my works christmas party with Hotel Collingwood and from the beginning, they were absolutely incredible, they gave us NHS discount, so great value for money. The communication was exceptional throughout from July all the way to the day of the christmas party, always helpful, always willing to answer my questions. On the day of the party, the staff were so happy to help with anything we needed, even putting all our extra bits and place names on the table. The food was lovely, it was served hot and the staff even helped me with a food chouce i had messed up with which was great, nothing was ever too much to ask for. The bar staff were also brilliant, they made the evening, laughing, joking and just being great fun with us as did the DJ who also did our party 2 years ago with you. We will definitely look into booking next year!

Held our office Christmas party at Hotel Collingwood yesterday and the whole team had a great time. The service we received from booking/organising all the way to hosting us was excellent. The 3 course dinner we had was excellent and the waiting staff were friendly and helpful. As part of our package a DJ and casino tables were included and they were all professional and made our whole evening fun and stress-free!

We stayed at Hotel Collingwood for a weekend break to explore Bournemouth and attend an event at the Bournemouth International Centre, which is conveniently just a short walk from the hotel. Our room, located on the first floor, offered a beautiful sea view that made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our visit, and the food served at the hotel was excellent. The on-site car park was spacious and extremely convenient, especially with the beach and local attractions within easy walking distance. A special thank you goes to the General Manager, Marcin, whose warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming approach made a significant difference to our experience. His dedication to guest satisfaction truly stood out. We would highly recommend staying at Hotel Collingwood and are already looking forward to returning in the near future!

I can't thank the team at Hotel Collingwood enough for looking after us so well on Friday the 5th of December. From welcome drinks, to food service and management of the whole event the team were incredible. Now, let's talk about the food, serving 100 people with hot and incredibly delicious food is not an easy task. One of our members commented about his fish dish that he though the food was as good as any high end fish restaurant. Personally, I opted for the traditional Christmas dinner which was excellent with properly cooked roast potates which is always my benchmark on a roast :) Thank you once again team Hotel Collingwood.

Spent a Zumba weekend here with a group of Zumba fans , it was marvellous Our room was very nice, small bathroom and very warm Food was very good we had a breakfast and dinner included Staff were amazing very helpful, friendly, nothing was too much trouble, hope to return next year

The Collingwood hotel hosted us for our annual Christmas event including meeting facilities and a wonderful festive lunch. The facilities were great, the service was incredible and overall a wonderful experience…. We will see you again next year!!

I arrived at the Collingwood yesterday to attend a conference.The hotel is perfect in every way. Warm welcome from Camilla on reception.Melissa also was very helpful…nothing was too much trouble. Easy car parking.Hotel spotlessly clean and beautiful spacious room. - Very comfortable and nicely warm at a cold time of the year.The lounge bar is wonderful and we were well looked after by Eddy as well as Saskia for our evening meal which was excellent. The hotel is beautifully lit with Christmas lights.The perfect location for the Bournemouth International Centre and of course the sea…both just a few minutes stroll away. The town Centre and winter gardens are very close by too.We will definitely return for a break to the Collingwood - a very happy place to be.

Our stay at The Collingwood was beyond excellent ! Our rooms was spacious spotlessly clean and warm and cosy. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. The staff from the cleaners to the front of house to the waitresses and waiters could not of been more helpful and friendly . Nothing was too much of a problem . If there was It was dealt with immediately. I brought my group from My Zumba Gold classes and we were welcomed straight away. The Hotel was dressed and ready for Christmas like a fairy grotto beautifully inviting as we walked into the Hotel on our arrival.

I have just come back from a group dance weekend at this hotel. From the minute I arrived to the time I left, the level of service was just so high in quality that it has to be mentioned and commended. Professional and efficient staff, individuals who want to do their best to ensure that their guests are well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. From Florin, who helped with so many things with a particular mention to luggage being shifted from room to room, always with a cheerful and pleasant attitude whenever on duty, to the many staff in the restaurant who were so helpful and always professional. It was impressive that with so many guests to look after, that the courses were served at the same time to all the guests on their table, even when there were 12-14 people seated. Anything that needed changing was always carried out with a positive and efficient manner. I don't believe I ever heard the words “no it's not possible!” The quality of the food was just superb. A shout out to the chef/s. Delicious food at every meal. The coziness of the decor, the warmth around the hotel, to say nothing of the lovely room that I had, just makes me want to come back again! So hopefully next year I will be back with the group and maybe with my family too. Thank you to all at the hotel. You did your best to make the stay so enjoyable. Well done to all.

Ladies weekend away, what a beautiful hotel every member of staff was fantastic and happy to be at work which is very nice to see. We didnt venture out for bars or restaurants as the hotel atmosphere was so good. The food was beautiful and the cocktails were to die for. The room had everything you needed and a comfy bed. We will definitely be going back

Your hotel is great for a group like ours, especially with walk-in showers, so helpful as several of us get older and less active, the food is really good and not the usual, rather boring fare for such a group, and all of your staff are fantastic. They did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, even joining in our dancing to make us feel truly welcome. Our ‘barmaid' in the function room is exceptional – she quickly got to know us and our quirks/preferred orders, and served us all with a great smile and enthusiasm, all while moving with our music, and when she helped one of us up the stairlift late on Saturday night she understood immediately how to get her settled safely, manoeuvring the lift for her. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I rate an organisation on how they handle problems as it's easy to function well when everything goes smoothly. I was most impressed by the speed and efficiency with which Saturday morning's problem was fixed. By the end of breakfast, it was as if nothing had gone wrong at all. We're all looking forward to returning. Well done to you all.

We were there with a large group and had a lovely time. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. The food was very good. Rooms and public areas were all kept clean. Location was ideal for the town and beach. Would definitely recommend.

This is our fourth stay at this hotel, and we have enjoyed returning every year. The staff are all friendly and hard working, and we particularly wanted to give a shout out to Florin, who always had a smile and was much fun, plus an expert cocktail maker! The food here is always good, and served piping hot (on hot plates!), which we very much appreciate. Have not given 5 stars this time, as we came on a dance weekend and the ballroom floor has been changed and is no longer smooth enough for ballroom/Latin dancing, which was disappointing and obviously not ideal for a dance break! Hopefully they will resolve this now they are aware of it, as it's normally a great space for dance functions. Also, the spotlights above our desk/dressing table area didn't work the whole time we were there (3 nights) which was irritating, especially as we reported it soon after checking in on Friday. Perhaps the maintenance team don't work on the weekend? We were offered a change of room on the Sunday, but by then, we didn't want the hassle of changing rooms for one night. Otherwise, the room was nice. There's plenty of parking, and the lounge area has board games to borrow. Would return if back in the area.

This hotel is situated in a prime location and is the perfect destination for families seeking comfort, relaxation, and fun. From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted by professional and friendly staff who are dedicated to ensuring your stay is nothing short of exceptional. This was our second stay at this hotel. We came just before Halloween and the hotel had wonderful decorations such as pumpkins, webs, trick or treat sweets and more. My young son really enjoyed these extra touches and we will be returning at Christmas to see the Christmas decorations. We came to this hotel again as were meeting up family who live nearby in order to celebrate a special birthday. The hotel provided a beautiful centrepiece of balloons on the table in the restaurant where we had afternoon tea. This was beautifully presented and there was a good variety of sandwiches, scones and cakes. James was excellent at serving us here and also again for dinner in the restaurant. He was friendly and happy to talk us through the various food options and recommendations. The spacious rooms are impeccably clean and designed to provide a restful environment for families. We slept well and the hotel is very quiet. We enjoyed a plentiful breakfast in the morning, offering a variety of delicious options such as cereals, pastries, toast and a full English breakfast to fuel our day. We particularly enjoyed the local Dorset tea. Whether you're here for relaxation or adventure, this hotel offers a wide range of amenities. We enjoyed unwinding at the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. My young son particularly liked the pool and could stand up in the shallow end. This hotel is great for families as it has a separate games room with a pool table, table football and table tennis. My young son enjoyed the table tennis (rackets and ball provided by hotel). It felt like a real treat using this and we had so much fun family time. The hotel also has a bar area with a table stocked with family games such as, connect four, Jenga, snakes and ladders and more. (These are the games we used for a young child, there are other games available). It is rare to find a hotel which provides this to guests. We enjoyed having dinner at the hotel and then going to the lounge and playing some family board games. There were other couples also playing board games at their table. It is also lovely to play these games on a rainy day. My son was delighted to receive milk and a cookie before he went to bed. This hotel have thought of everything a family could need. It is also a lovely hotel for a couple to stay and relax. The hotel has helpful staff who are always ready to assist with anything you need, and are happy to recommend nearby attractions. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and the convenient location makes this hotel the ideal base for exploring the area while enjoying quality time with your loved ones. The beach is a short walk down the road and we enjoyed a stroll along the pier in the evening. We are so glad we have found this hotel and will be returning many times in the future. After meeting with the General Manager Marcin, a year ago, it was decided to hold our next annual reunion at the Hotel Collingwood. This was definitely the right decision for us. Regular meetings with Marcin ensured all requirements were met. We had exclusive use of the hotel for the weekend, which was a luxury, and everything went to plan. The hotel was decorated Halloween style which set the scene. The food in the restaurant and at our formal banquet was excellent - served in a timely manner and hot! ALL the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful, making sure our stay was enjoyable. A big shout out to Marcin, his deputy manager Kasia who had her finger on the pulse throughout, plus Sita and Florin who looked after us and kept us entertained all weekend. WELL DONE to everyone, no doubt we will be back again.

We went to Collingwood Hotel as a large group, 80 people to stay over Halloween weekend, and we booked out the whole hotel. It was just perfect, good food, great service and with friends you want to spend time with. One of the nicest aspects was every member of staff wanted to engage with you and joined in with the Halloween vibe. A great team. Food was excellent and the gala dinner went really smoothly with hot food served to every table quickly. Rooms clean and comfortable. Thank you.

We loved our stay here very impressed with the pool area the kids loved it and really good location 5 mins walk to the beach with an amazing view on the way . Close to the pier zip wire and clip and climb and walking distance to the park and town centre

We had a wonderful weekend at the Collingwood! We enjoyed a bed breakfast and evening meal, our room was spacious and an up to date vibe! Food was delicious and the hotel was very well maintained. As for the staff nothing was too much trouble for them! Amazing walks along the promenade to Sandbanks, we were very lucky with weather! We will return!

We've just spent 4 nights here on a coach trip from Norfolk. What an amazing place this is, the staff are absolutely amazing so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic plenty of choices. The rooms were clean and cosy. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel.

Everything about my short stay was great. From the moment I arrived the staff were incredibly friendly. Our room was beautiful and quiet and comfortable. I used to live in Bournemouth and pop back from time to time and this will be my place to stay. I only had breakfast there but it was delicious with many options which cater for all preferences. We recently enjoyed a delightful Afternoon Tea at The Collingwood Hotel, and it was every bit as charming as we'd hoped. The selection of bites was excellent, the tea flowed freely, and the entire experience was elevated by Florin, who looked after us with genuine attentiveness and charm. The food was superb, the ambience warm and welcoming, and every member of staff we encountered was unfailingly polite and professional. It's clear that the team takes great pride in what they do. The Collingwood remains our favourite hotel in Bournemouth, and experiences like this only reinforce why. Highly recommended.

On Sunday last I went to the Hotel Collingwood Hotel for Sunday Lunch. I had not frequented the hotel since encompassing it several years ago as a location for Westbourne Rotary Club when I was President. What a joy to visit again after several years and I cannot speak more highly of the cuisine, staff and attentive service. I would certainly highly recommend the Collingwood as it's location / food and staff to all that Bournemouth offers is what everything would want to have.

Staff were all friendly, helpful & professional. We had a cosy room which was actually bigger than we thought it would be. The location is great, close to BIC, sea front & shops. However it is up a hill Breakfast was good too. We let the hotel know it was our anniversary & they decorated the room for us, which was lovely. Lots of regular customers here, mainly elderly. Only downside was our room was very hot! We slept with our large window open & didnt sleep with our duvet over us & we were still hot.

booked the Seaside Escape package directly through the hotel as a surprise for my friend's birthday. What can I say? An absolute amazing stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough to help. I asked nicely for a number of things before arriving, including a room on a high floor facing the back and I mentioned it was a birthday treat. We had the perfect third floor rear facing room with balloons on arrival. What a lovely touch. The spa area was a perfect size and temperature and so relaxing. The 3 course dinner was delicious and what an incredible choice for breakfast. Thank you for the most perfect break. We will be back for sure.

Wonderful stay, amazing friendly and welcoming staff, evening food and breakfast were delicious. Gifted a free room upgrade - huge comfy bed, lovely underfloor heating in the bathroom. Eden spa was a nice little bonus after the drive from Cornwall too. Great location to town. Will stay again if heading to Bournemouth.

We returned once more to Hotel Collingwood, and it didn't disappoint! This visit was with friends, they also weren't disappointed! The staff as always welcome guests with a smile, in fact all the staff wherever we met them were helpful and pleasant ! The breakfasts were lovely, with the main dish being waiter served, to our own requirements! The three course evening meal was stylishly served and cooked perfectly, the choices from about six dishes at each course, were varied enough for us all! Followed by coffee or tea, were all lovely. The rooms are nicely appointed with a comfy mattress, and coffee/tea facilities available. Hotel location is excellent, a short walk to the west cliff, then down the slope to the pier and beach. The Breezer buses stop right outside the hotel, which is very convenient. Our three night dinner bed and breakfast package was excellent value, hard to beat for quality! Hotel facilities, like swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and games room, mean you should not be idle! Free parking if you book direct is a must. A note for Coeliacs and allergy sufferer's! The menus cater well for people with these afflictions, like me! Well done to all the staff at HC and thanks to Marcin the manager for your attention.

Excellent hotel near the BIC & beach in Bournemouth. Clean & had enormous bed. Lovely kind staff. A lovely heated pool, sauna & jacuzzi. Breakfast was delicious, as much as you could eat. Friendly atmosphere in the dining room & lobby.

Really hard to fault anything about our stay. The hotel was easy to find and parking was easy, plenty of spaces. The welcome was warm and friendly and that continued throughout our stay. The barman was a character, most entertaining, friendly and helpful, cocktails delicious. The Gold restaurant is smart and stylish, the food was excellent and the staff again, so efficient and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean, the whole hotel was, very smart although perhaps a little hot. No air con. It is a short walk to the beach and pier, also the town centre, although the town centre is sadly now quite run down. In short, we had a great stay and if in Bournemouth again would return.

What a lovely stay I enjoyed with my local U3A group. The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful. They always had a ready smile and made us laugh. Good food, nice room and they had a swimming pool for me to enjoy which I used every day following the days out. Tea and coffee in room topped up each day. Very happy with my stay.

Must admit our first impressions weren't great, with rather dingy underground car park, AstroTurf on way up, and allocated room (Signature) on ground floor close to busy road. Reception were very helpful and explained hotel was full that night but would move us the next day, which they did to lovely room at back of hotel on 3rd floor. Everything else was great, including very friendly and helpful staff; beautifully decorated dining room; great breakfasts; and VG, reasonably priced evening meal on day we eat there. Swimming pool an added bonus. If revisiting Bournemouth, would definitely return (and know where to request room).

This is our fourth short stay at the Hotel Collingwood, and it does not fail to impress. The room was immaculate and cleaned on a daily basis. We ate breakfast in the hotel, and evening meal on three nights of our stay, the food was fabulous and the service too. The staff are all friendly, attentive and helpful, in particular the manager Marcin and the bar manager (whose name escapes me!). The spa area, which included a small pool, hot tub and sauna, was also beautifully presented. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the seafront, pier and BIC centre. We would definitely recommend Hotel Collingwood.

We come back to stay at the Collingwood each year for our annual bowls tour and it never let's us down. We have just returned from our week there (8thSeptember to 12thSeptember 25), this was my first time organising the tour and Marcin was incredibly helpful and made the experience so much easier for me a really nice man. Our stay was as always very good, we were welcomed by a friendly lady on reception the rooms are clean and comfortable, as has been mentioned by many people Marcin has an excellent team who will do all they can to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The food is very good both breakfast and dinner with excellent service throughout. Location is very good for both the town and beach, the hotel also has a very nice pool and Sauna. The bar area is also comfortable with plenty of seating and a well stocked bar, if you prefer try the comfortable quiet lounge. We will be back again next year if you are in the area I would not hesitate recommending the Collingwood for your stay

After a week of touring southern England, this was our least liked hotel. They fraudulently charged us for breakfast, so please be aware they do not offer free breakfast. I booked from the best Western website that said breakfast available and the language is confusing. So we were hit with a $40 breakfast charge at checkout. Not only that, but the lady at the front desk was super rude about it, and did not acknowledge that others have been tricked by this as well! You actually have to book a rate that includes breakfast, which is incredibly overpriced for the area and the season right now. Between that and the price for a very Small, dark room with a very offensive odor throughout the hotel, this was the most expensive place we stayed this week and our least favorite. Many other options in the area.

We had the pleasure of staying here last night. We wanted to try it out, as our wedding reception venue there in 2027. The location and venue for the wedding is great, but from a point of view as a guest. I can honestly say it was a pleasure. Hotel was great, room was lovely and clean. Food was to a high standard. Staff were very nice and the manager....if only all were to this high standard, caring and nothing was to much trouble for him. His staff obviously love to work under him as they give that little extra too. If felt more like we were among friends then hotel staff. Highly recommend staying here. Pool was clean and of a warm standard by granddaughters loved the games room. Will be staying there again when I visit my family who live in Bournemouth.

The hotel was cosy and the service and food was good. Our room was tight, but adequate, but the bathroom was a bit too small. There was plenty of car parking, but there were a lot of steps to reach it.

Love this hotel…they make you feel special and take the time to make all the imports t thinge put into a break are there for you. The staff are amazing, a true team who work seamlessly together to make the stay enjoyable and always longing to come back.

A lovely traditional seaside hotel. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and we especially enjoyed the Afternoon Tea with finger sandwiches and cakes and scones. The swimming pool with jacuzzi and sauna was a welcome amenity for when the sun wasn't shining.

Really enjoyed our stay at this central hotel in Bournemouth, a short walk to the beach. The rooms, although classed as cosy exceeded our expectations. Good beds, well decorated and pristine. The shower/wc was indeed cosy but worked well and clean. I must congratulate the staff, all worked tirelessly to make our stay enjoyable and were friendly and helpful. At the bar Florin was entertaining and efficient. Breakfasts were outstanding and our one evening meal had a varied menu with something for everyone. All in all, highly recommended.

I had dinner at Hotel Collingwood and it was absolutely wonderful. The braised beef was cooked to perfection — rich, tender, and full of flavour. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and it really made the whole evening feel special. A special mention to Marcin, the manager, and his wonderful team who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I couldn't recommend this place more highly for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

Very centrally located hotel. Close to the beach (which is across the road and a 5 minute walk down), close to the town centre, the park and restaurants. Plenty of parking at the rear and access into the hotel from that side as well. Staff were friendly and polite. Hotel has lounge area with board games, games room (pool table, ping pong & fooseball) & spa & swimming facilities. We had a family room which had a double and single bed (for 2 adults & 1 child). Good size, not massive but plenty of space for bags & to walk around in. Good number of sockets & lights. Decor was so lovely. I loved the colours, chairs and lamp shades. Breakfast was plentiful. Continental options buffet style and cooked to order hot breakfast. It was well cooked and a good portion. Nothing wow or amazing but did the job. I would definitely return but I had a couple of issues which were annoying. 1. The orange juice was from a carton not fresh 2. The room was absolutely boiling hot (due to the good weather). Leaving the window open did nothing and the fan in the room did not help unless you were stood right in front of it. In the end I asked for another fan and I was given a massive air cooler. That helped so much and just shows how good the service is. 3. The toilet in the room was separate from the shower. So one door for the toilet and another for the shower room. Both small but adequate. Being separate is not an issue but there's no sink where the toilet is. Which means after using it you have to go across into the shower room to wash hands. This I think is quite unhygenic and inconvenient. There should be a sink in the toilet room. I think there is enough space for a small one & the hotel should consider putting one in. 4. £12.50 for parking if you booked through a third party site!! It's extortionate considering we were staying at the hotel for 3 days. I think this should be made clearer on sites like booking.com

Beautiful hotel and amazing location for exploring the fabulous coastline with little ones. Staff could not have been more accommodating and especially the general manager who was so helpful, friendly and always making sure we were enjoying our stay. Our room was really comfortable and the little touches made it feel like total luxury. Food in the bar and in the main restaurant was absolutely first class......so much choice for everyone and always freshly prepared! We wouldn't stay anywhere else and we will definitely be back on our next trip x

When you ask for a accessible room make sure you have one as the only one wih grab handles is a family room not a chance as a couple

Sita* who works on the bar here is an absolute legend and a one-woman kids entertainment team. Thanks to her we ate in the bar both nights and had a lovely time. Other staff were also friendly and helpful. We would book directly next time (not through BW) to secure free parking and other perks. The games room and small pool were perfect for us as a family. We were grateful that unlike some places, pool access for the kids was all day (not restricted to some times like some places). The location of the hotel near the pier (but not too near) was ideal. The breakfast options were great for the whole family. The family room was comfortable, though an extra bar across the side of the kids' top bunk bed would've made me happier.

It started off with the young man taking our luggage to our room from the reception. All the staff from the maintenance staff all the way through to the management was very obliging and very friendly could not do enough for you. The food was excellent and a good selection to choose from.

We recently held a work social event at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The food was excellent – fresh, well-prepared, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The facilities were also top-notch, providing a comfortable and stylish setting for our event. While the area reserved for ourselves had a limited drinks selection, this was quickly resolved by using the main bar, which had a great variety and excellent service. Overall, it was a great evening in a great venue. Thank you to the team for hosting us so well!

I used to stay at this hotel regularly for quite a few years until approximately 5 to 6 years ago, the last visit I made was a less than positive experience and I decided to go elsewhere in the future ,But, I thought I would return this year in the hope that things had improved, and was amazed at the vast improvements that I found, apart from a complete makeover which is lovely, the thing that impressed me most was the level of customer care, from the moment I arrived until I left nothing was too much trouble for the staff there, I have considerable mobility issues and there was nothing that was too much trouble, anything I requested was done willingly and promptly, my room was lovely and as much as possible was done to cater for my mobility issues, I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Collingwood to anyone who anyone looking for a good reasonably priced hotel in Bournemouth.

My husband and I stayed for one night prior to hosting an event at Hotel Collingwood later in the year. Found Hotel Manager Marcin to be one of the most helpful and informative, that we have encountered. All his staff are professional and friendly. But maximum stars are given to Florin and Sota, who were humorous and entertaining throughout the evening. They were unique and we look forward to seeing them again at our function. Lovely cozy hotel offering a lot of activities, spacious rooms and a wonder bar and restaurant. The spa was great and so was the gaming room downstairs! Kids loved it there. They even decorated the room on a complementary basis for occasions if you're staying with them for one!! Very warm staff…

We cannot thank you Hotel Collingwood enough for giving us the most perfect wedding day. The staff were amazing, the attention to detail on all aspects of the day was incredible. We had a December wedding. The room looked stunning and the whole hotel was decorated like a winter wonderland. Totally magical! We could not have done it all without owners Michelle and Eytan. Extremely helpful, lovely and accommodating to our needs. This place has a special place in my heart, and we continue to visit for Sunday lunches and visits with our children. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here,the hotel were so kind and decorated our room so nicely. The tasting menu was so good.What made it was the sommelier Sita who realy knew her wine. Also our waitress Monika who looked after us so well.Thank you so much.

The communication from the hotel prior to arrival was great. Had a small issue with our room upon check in but the reception staff were great and quickly resolved the issue. The room we had was clean, modern and had everything we need. The whole hotel is decorated lovely especially for the Christmas season. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was lovely with a good choice of help yourself buffet items and hot food that can be ordered fresh from the kitchen. The croissants were particularly good. My partner is vegetarian and he really enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast. The pool / spa area which is free to use for hotel guests is a great bonus as was the games room! We booked directly with the hotel so we also enjoyed free parking for the duration of our stay, The hotel is in a good location only a 5 minute walk to the pier / town so we could just park up and leave our car at the hotel and not worry about it. Will definitely return!

Our 2nd stay at this hotel. It's modern clean and decorated lovely. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice cooked and served hot and fresh along side the buffet. We stayed in a cozy room this time it was small but it very clean and comfortable. We used the pool and the bar for evening drinks. Location is perfect for the beach and the town. And we will happily stay again when visiting Bournemouth.

Friendly & welcoming staff really make this hotel. As a solo female traveller I felt so comfortable - from reception to bar & restaurant staff, nothing is too much trouble. Comfy rooms, the pool and sauna were nice & clean. Table service at breakfast was a nice touch, food was tasty (only exception was the scrambled eggs) - didn't have dinner in the restaurant but the bar also do a decent all-day menu and good drinks selection. Walking distance from west cliff beach & just a short trip into the centre. Will be back!

From the minute we walked in was very surprised how lovely the decor was we were staying one night as going to a graduation I had booked a double room as there was not a lot of difference in price and after seeing how beautifully the reception rooms were I was not disappointed in my room lovely autumn colours. After the graduation we went back to the hotel and took advantage of the swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi and sauna. Which were excellent. In the evening we went out to eat but came back to hotel for a drink and what a bonus it was happy hour. Back to the room tv, tea making facilities lovely shower and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Had breakfast at the hotel which was very good and lastly a mention for the staff who were excellent in every department. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. It was booked at short notice after being let down by another hotel and as the saying goes, everything happens for a reason. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful, especially Peter who served us in the Gold Room on Friday evening. Fantastic food both for our evening meal and our breakfast the next morning, absolutely delicious. We wouldn't hesitate in booking to stay at the Collingwood again. Many thanks to all of the staff.

Third time this year and yet again we extended our stay. This is a lovely hotel, uniquely decorated, clean, warm and lovely friendly, professional and helpful staff. We stay in the Cosy Room, larger than most smaller hotel rooms. Love the bathroom splashback tiles. Good breakfast, few minutes to beach, might require the bus back up the hill. Looking forward to our next break already.

This was our second stay at The Collingwood this year, the staff are very friendly and courteous, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. There is a great cold selection of fruit, yogurt and pastries for breakfast and the 'Full Dorset Breakfast' is quite exceptional, we also had a bar snack one evening which was very nice. We had Sunday Lunch in the restaurant with friends, the starters, mains and deserts were fabulous, the service was first class and it was great value for money. We have friends in Bournemouth, so travel there at least a couple of times a year, The Collingwood puts a tick in every box for us.

The bar is really modern and nice. We upgraded our room for some extra space and it was lovely. Stayed here with husband whilst attending Oktoberfest and it was such a lovely hotel. We normally stay at the Hilton but to be completely honest, these rooms were less tired and well kept in comparison. It felt very very clean. The car park is ideal and no extra charge too which is a bonus. The bar is lovely and modern. Would definitely stay again! The price was half what the Hilton charge too. We didn't even have breakfast or use the spa.. so can only imagine the trip would have been even better if we did as it looked great.

I booked to stay here last minute as I was going to a gig and the weather was awful. I'm so glad I stayed. Perfect little hotel so close to the centre. I felt very safe and welcome being a lone female traveller. I had an upgraded room from a single to double, very clean and newly renovated bathroom. Staff very friendly. A Comfortable hotel, Good for Coeliacs, This Pleasant 3 star hotel is just 5 mins walk from the Bournemouth clifftop path and cliff lift.; and 10 mins from the pier. The hotel has comfortable pleasant bedrooms in three grades, cosy, signature and signature extra, all are en suite with comfortable beds and with tea/coffee trays and free wi-fi, etc. The public rooms are nicely decorated and furnished. There is also a friendly bar area with helpful staff. The restaurant is also nicely furnished and relaxing; the full breakfasts and three course dinners are all excellent and the menus include gluten free options for most items, they also know all about the importance of avoiding cross contamination! If you book direct with the hotel, you have included, free car parking. You can also get special dinner, bed and breakfast packages with a room upgrade and a free Dorset cream tea for certain dates. All the staff were very friendly, pleasant, helpful and efficient. The whole experience was very good value when you consider the cost of the stay! The local buses stop outside the hotel, on which you can get to many destinations, depending on season, such as Swanage, Boscombe, Poole, etc. so if you are a national bus pass holder, getting around is very easy and great value!!! My wife and I enjoyed an excellent 4 night D, B & B holiday at the Collingwood. Well recommended!

A fantastic hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful and in this day and age of terrible service being the norm, it was absolutely faith-restoring to be treated so well and with smiles all round. They should be the flagship for customer service throughout the UK. Clean, bang up to date rooms, clean behind the scenes corridors (a rarity), great food and drink and just all round spot on. I also wasn't well whilst I was there and the staff couldn't do enough to help me. I felt really well looked after and safe there. Thank you Hotel Collingwood!

An excellent hotel, all staff are accomadating and helpful. Rooms excellent. Food excellent. Excellent location on the Westcliff, a couple of minutes walk to the front and a 5 minutes walk to the town centre. A very welcoming hotel. I will certainly recommend it to anyone.

After a Summer holiday of expensive hotels and total disappointment, Hotel Collingwood turned out to be a hidden gem. At room rates for dinner B & B that were less than many are charging for B & B we were prepared for average food. On the contrary, the food was excellent. They get the "simple" things right. The staff can't do enough for you, the rooms are more than adequate, it's dog friendly, they don't charge for parking, the wines are sensibly priced, the food is excellent, it is very conveniently located for the beach or the shops, and they don't charge you £6 for a side of peas. Actually, with most dishes you don't need a side dish. Difficult to know what they could do better.

Our stay at Hotel Collingwood was simply outstanding! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm and professional service. They were always on hand to help, and ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. The room we stayed in was nothing short of amazing – spacious, impeccably clean, and stylishly decorated. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. We enjoyed the fantastic indoor pool area and jacuzzi which has a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was vast, offering both hot and cold options, and everything was cooked to perfection. Whether you prefer a hearty full English or something lighter, it was clear the kitchen staff take great pride in their food. Overall, Hotel Collinwood exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

We went to the Collingwood hotel with a group of Bowlers on a tour and stayed 4 nights. from the moment we arrived and were greeted we enjoyed a perfect stay. The staff were all happy and friendly. The food was excellant always hot and freshly prepared. an extensive menu catered for all tastes. The hotel decor was lovely and the bedrooms spacious and spotlessly clean. Stayed one night,enroute to Weymouth Bay. Nice,large room,very warm,but once windows were open,it was fine.We found a fan in the wardrobe,on our departure day?The toiletries in the ensuite were luxurious and had a lovely smell. The young staff on reception at check in and check out,weren't very animated or friendly. This was a shame as the staff in the breakfast room the next morning were lovely and the food was hot and tasty.Also the girl on the bar on the evening was pleasant and was singing along to the background music. Free parking round the back as we booked direct. Not too far from the front. All in all,a nice stay.

This is a three star hotel but without question 5 star service. Every member of staff is either excellent or very well schooled in customer service! Just a really lovely experience. The staff are just so engaging and really contributed to a lovely stay. Remember that this is a three star hotel!! But the staff make it a five star experience!!! Food is great. The facilities are good. The location is fantastic and the staff are brilliant!

We stayed here for four nights. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a nice bedroom with a large comfy bed, a good size ensuite with an excellent large shower. The food was good with plenty of choice. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the room booking, which was sorted out very quickly. The negative points we found were that we didn't like the idea of self-service drinks machine and do your own toast at breakfast. Also, in the bedroom, there is a lack of drawer space

Stayed here early September as part of a bowls tour we have been coming for a lot of years, check in was good allocated room 314 which was a very nice room lots of natural light and lovely and clean also a view of the sea. The staff were wonderful very helpful and friendly the manager Mychin was very approachable and very hands on always around helping out at busy times, the restaurant was very well laid out and the food both breakfast and dinner was wonderful with lots of choice and served with a smile, the lounge and bar area also very nice, the drinks maybe a little on the expensive side but not a problem, happy hour each evening at the bar ?, did not use the Spa area this time but it has been refurbished and looks very nice. A very enjoyable 5 days and we look forward to returning next year again for our tour, if you are in the area give the Collingwood a try you will not be disappointed.

We went to Hotel Collingwood for our friend's hen do - we had 14 guests for afternoon tea and a cocktail making class. Ellie, the Events Coordinator was so helpful in the lead up to the event, answering all our questions and helping with the planning. On the day all the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Luckily there weren't many other guests using the restaurant so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! They let us play our own playlist off the sound system and let us decorate so it felt like a truly bespoke event. The weather was fantastic and we were able to enjoy the lovely outdoor space and have drinks on the terrace. Sita who took us through the cocktail class was super friendly, knowledgeable and good fun. The food and drinks were good quality and great value for money (there was so much food!). I would definitely recommend this hotel for your event as they take such great care of you and everything is excellent quality for the price.

This was the first time I had stayed at the hotel, although I had previously visited friends here. The staff are friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to be of assistance. The hotel is well decorated and has great facilities, such as a games room, pool, lounge area and dining room as well as an outside seating area. The ensuite rooms are of a good size and beds are very comfortable.

This is a really good three star hotel - nicely furnished rooms and communal areas, clean, good breakfast, great location and friendly and helpful staff. On the occasion that things went wrong, which inevitably happens from time to time, they were quickly put right. Spa/pool area has been recently refurbished and looks lovely. Thanks to the whole team for a great stay.

We have been to Bournemouth for the last 24 years and really enjoy every visit. After our normal Hoteliers retired and Sold the Hotel we had to find an alternative. Wow have we found an alternative. Hotel Collingwood was excellent from start to finish. We had a lovely warm welcome at Reception on arrival. We had a wonderful Signature room on the second floor which was absolutely superb. Breakfast is delicious with the usual full Dorset Breakfast plus a buffet of continental offerings, fruit, cereal, etc. The evening meals were of excellent standard with “specials” each night. We were there for 7 days and the selection was so varied we could eat delicious, different meals each night, compliments to the Chef. The rooms and Hotel in general is very clean, the facilities include a Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and bar. All the staff are efficient, friendly, and very helpful, couldn't do enough for you. They are obviously very happy in their jobs in their attitude to guests is second to none, complement to Marcin the manager. I would like to thank all the staff, but especially Alex on reception and Sita on the bar. A lovely Hotel to enjoy Bournemouth and very well located for amenities in the town. Thanks once again.

We booked a Family room at the Hotel Collingwood, which was just ideal for my Grandson, Daughter and Myself, The room was clean and had everything you needed for your stay, The toiletries and refreshments in the room were of good quality, With the hotel being on the main road I wondered how well we would sleep due to noise, I shouldn't have worried. After using the pool and spa, which again are well maintained and open for most of the day, we slept like logs. If I had one small criticism it would be that the changing room in the spa had space for 45 people but had a bolt on the door, this meant if someone went in and locked it, no one lese had access to there, this meant we had to leave our belongings in the corridor, and had no toilet facilities until said person had fully showered and leisurely dressed themselves. Please note this is not a complaint just an observation Despite all the staff being young they were very knowledgeable. polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to ensure my Grandson enjoyed his stay, His highlight was the pancakes for breakfast, there certainly was a good choice in the light and airy Gold Room. The staff in the restaurant managed to find him a hot chocolate despite it not being on the menu, he also rated their vanilla milkshake, which came out nicely decorated. , Booking direct with the Hotel gave us free parking, this is worth its weight in gold as other establishments can charge the most outrageous fees for this hidden in small print. If you want a good value clean friendly Hotel in a good location within walking distance from the BIC and Seafront you cant go far wrong than Hotel Collingwood, We left feeling that nothing was too much trouble and the ethos of the Hotel was if we can do it we will. Sincere thanks to all the staff both front of house and behind the scenes who worked seamlessly to ensure our stay was everything we wanted it to be

A nice hotel with friendly and attentive staff, good food and a good location. Avoid room 101 - it's very noisy NEVER book this hotel except via their own website because if you have a car you will end up paying £10 a day for parking. Similarly I would not book an evening meal until you arrive - there's no point ( the evening meals are good, but clearly made to a stricter budget than an external commercial restaurant).

staff always friendly. Helpful nothing is not to much trouble . Food good and plenty of choice. Hotel clean fresh always. Another lovely and relaxing stay. The hotel has it own car park next to hotel so you can keep an eye on your car. At no extra charge . which is a big bonus in Bornemouth . Hotel close to beach and town . There is a bus stop outside so its easy to explore the area and not use your car.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful- particularly the hotel manager- as a group with kids, a dog and a pensioner with mobility requirements we had a lot of demands/needs all of which were met- and the place has a lot of personality vs most chain hotels.

I have stayed at the hotel lots of times over the past few years. The hotel is lovely , the rooms are a good size and clean. The food is of a high standard and plentiful, it's always hot. All the staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are also very good for the price. The hotel is in an ideal location near the beach and shops and in easy access to the buses. There is a slight hill to get to the hotel but there are easier routes to take.

Staying over for business decided to try the Restaurant for dinner absolutely fantastic quite nice atmosphere when you're dining alone staff were amazingly friendly and the food was excellent really goodchoice. Nice to see they allow dogs with their owners to eat in the outside bar area.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent with several choices on the menu. I have been there several times. The steep hill to get to the hotel is a killer but there are different ways to get there. The bedrooms are cleaned every other day.

Went to Bournemouth for the 1st time on Sunday 25th for 4 nights with my girlfriend and we had a great time In regards to the hotel I just want to clarify a few things that people have put on here which I find absolutely no reason to complain about especially coming from a hospitality background . It was mentioned on here about house keeping leaving bags in the corridors, they are doing there job by cleaning rooms I walked past bags in the corridor they wasnt in my way at all .someone mentioned about the breakfast not being enough, well that's a joke I find the it more than enough and that's coming from someone that eats a lot .all staff were very friendly .work really hard Someone said about the lift being slow So what that it's slow it's an old building One of the worst reasons I have heard to complain about seriously 3-4 star hotel 4 star service Located near the beach You get what you pay for which is more then enough and with no disrespect if people want more then book The Marriott The Cumberland Hilton Otherwise be happy with what you get I will definitely be returning here Thank you all Collingwood Hotel staff for a great stay Harry

We stayed at the Collingwood 4 night with our little chihuahua Bobbie. The hotel is well place to visit Bournemouth. Staff are excellent if we return to Bournemouth we would stay again there are plenty of places to eat around the hotel Italian , Indian , Chinese , Pub 3 minutes walk and a fish & chip shop next to the pub. Hotel bar was great to nice atmosphere staff great too. Room was a little warm there is a fan in the room just a little noisy during the night. That would not put us off staying again. Also EV charging in the car park as we use our Ev to drive for Liverpool to Bournemouth and back yes in an electric car. So the charging at the hotel was useful after trips out.

My partner and I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The pool was fantastic, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were welcoming, making our stay even better. Bar food was delicious and there was a great selection of cocktails .Highly recommend!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Collingwood, there were 7 of us. We have stayed in Bournemouth over the last 50 years and can honestly say this is the best hotel we have stayed in. The rooms and decor were of a very high standard. The food was amazing and the staff were very welcoming and lovely. The spa was very relaxing and the massage and facial were something else. The position of the hotel is ideal as 2 of our party are less mobile. wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely family stay here. Our family room was spacious and comfortable. There was great facilities for the kids; pool and games room. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The location is perfect for the beach and all the local attractions. Amazing cocktails in the evening served by lovely bar team. Well worth visiting!

We have just got back from a 3 day stay at Hotel Collingwood and we're very impressed with the service we experienced from reception to restaurant, the bedroom was nicely presented quiet and bedding excellent with comfortable mattress and pillows, the staff in all areas were very pleasant and nothing to much trouble, the breakfast and evening meals were wonderful came on hot plates which can be rare in some hotels many congratulations to the chefs concerned the menu was wonderful with so much choice, keep up the good work will definitely be going again, also must mention the Eden spa and had a pedicure with Louisa again lovely experience makes the stay complete.

Had such a lovely time at this hotel. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Pool was great and the location excellent. Some people have moaned on reviews about it being a tad old but it's a 3 star hotel in the heart of the centre with such a short walk to the beach and local attractions. It's not the hotels fault that noisy people walk outside the hotel on a Saturday night, if you don't want that then don't go to Bournemouth on a weekend in the summer. I would like to especially highlight the lady who manned the bar on Friday and Saturday evening, she was such a gem and really made my children feel welcome and was a delight of a human. It was really a lovely stay and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you very much for making my boys summer! ❤️❤️❤️

The hotel has a really helpful Manager and staff, they went out of their way to arrange a parking space for me, when it seemed as though the car park was full.the spa treatment was perfect too, with a very knowledgeable and experienced therapist. The hotel is well located, within easy walking distance of the sea front.

Our stay at the Collingwood Hotel was excellent. The staff were all helpful and the food was excellent. They managed to cope with myself, my two daughters, my 6 year old grandaughter and a dog. As we were staying half board, we were able to eat some meals in the bar with the dog, so he didn't miss out either! There's lots to do in Bournemouth, but in four days we hardly scratched the surface - and then the hotel had a pool which even I, with my arthritic knee, could get into.

We arrived to a warm welcome. Our concerns with regard to our food allergies were address straight away , by curtsy of the Manager, with visit from the Chef. With the help from a well informed restaurant staff we had no problems in choosing from the menu. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The bar and reception staff played a great part in making our stay an enjoyable experience. We have booked for 2025 please join us.

Not a good place . Jewellery disappeared when we moved to a more suitable Family Room, instead of being high up in roof. Noise on front of building terrible to sleep. Landline phones out of action after a day. Celling which we saw on ground floor collapsed ,from Water issue. owner not interested now in guests, only a handful of people. Reception ignored me 3 times when asking if they could find out about jewellery, in transit from one bedroom to another vanished. I was dismayed at my treatment: but one Electrician helped me look 3 days later. Most Staff slack and only Part time. No Safes in Guest Rooms. Long WAit for Breakfast One HOUR, as coach Party was there for 1 night and left early , so we guests had to wait, many fed up and others saying hotel gone down. New Manager in but cannot cope with all the Problems, and owner pops in for hour in mornings and shoots off. Food is good but putting guests in small rooms with no drawers to place items , and Wardrobe doors that stick and cannot move is a shabby way to Treat decent guests. Not worthy of 3 star . Guests told us that don't have Evening meal as too expensive and go into Town, We stayed for a week with half Board. Reception do not listen to peope's grievances and the Hotel needs to employ Different types.

Third year running stayed at Hotel Collingwood and it always beats our expectations. Lovely hotel, great service and the breakfast is always hot and freshly cooked plus as much as you want. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The swimming pool is fabulous

A pleasant stay in a hotel very close to bournemouth town centre and the beach. Staff were excellent, food was great and accommodating to vegans with labelled vegan options on the menu. Bar was very nice and hotel rooms were also great with high cleanness standards!

After a 16 day stay at this hotel, everything was absolutely top notch. ALL the staff are exceptional and need pats on the back, as nothing ever too much trouble for any of them. Food was more amazing than ever and never short of choice. New manager Marcin a welcome addition to the team. Can't wait to return.

The new manager Martin and his assistant have been absolutely fantastic during our 4 night stay to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday and my sons engagement. Nothing was too much trouble and they ensured the celebrations were handled perfectly, so the whole group could thoroughly enjoy everything planned. We were not the easiest of groups with a wheelchair bound elderly person to a 6 mth old baby and everything in between!! Excellent food, facilities and location. Can't wait to stay again. Definitely a 5 star experience.

The hotel is very well run and they made us and everyone else welcome. All the meal were to a high standard and enjoyable. Our room was to a high standard and the price was not too bad. But you get what you pay for. The hotel is situated in a good place. Not too for from the beach and shops.

This hotel is fantastic, my grandparents Mr and Mrs Fudge have been coming here for years and the staff have been nothing but amazing for them, the level of care from the staff is phenomenal especially towards my grandad who's health unfortunately has deteriorated due his Parkinson's but the staff have always been above and beyond towards him and my grandma. Some people have good experiences and leave good reviews but I cannot thank this hotel enough for how welcome they have made my grandparents feel. I have stayed here myself 3 times now and have personally experienced outstanding customer service. The Collingwood is by far the best hotel in the UK.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Collingwood and it's been such a beautiful experience, both times! We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Collingwood celebrating our grandmas 80th birthday and an engagement. Lovely staff and delicious food options!

This hotel used to be excellent value and an absolute joy to visit. In an effort to make more money they have taken the decision to cut back on breakfast and dinner (in my opinion). Food is now limited, looks cheap and tastes microwaved. Pool is lovely. Rooms very comfortable and most of the staff are really lovely. Excellent location for Bournemouth.

This is the perfect hotel for families with young kids. The staff are super helpful and friendly, they recommended places to visit which was great. Our family room was spacious with comfi beds for the kids and a lovely new bathroom. We made good use of the pool and games room. We had dinner in the restaurant with lots of options for the parents and kids followed by a cocktail in the bar. Thank you, we will be back soon!

Michelle, Eytan, Marcin, Ellie and all of the other fantastic staff, from the events team, to the chefs, to the bar staff and housekeeping... they are all just so fabulous. So warm and welcoming, accommodating and hard working. We have held multiple events with them now and they never fail to impress us. This is an excellent independent Hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly. They make you feel special. Our family had a great time here the facilities are perfect with a great pool and Jacuzzi and a playroom for the kids. The decor is modern and tasteful, we spent time in the bar, enjoying some great cocktails and lovely food. Well done the Collingwood team. We hope to see you again this summer.

Poor service due to last minuets discounted booking price via secret escapes. Poor facilities and room amenities and breakfast was below standards, overcooked and minimal. Dinner was also overpriced and unfriendly bar staff

The hotel is fantastic beautiful inside out , the hotel is so very clean and very comfortable .The staff are one big happy family and very friendly they go above and beyond to make your stay special, the food is just amazing plenty off it I have been using this hotel for 20 years and the last five years have been amazing plenty of deals to be had and they are always there to please has an amazing swimming pool and hot tub for hotel residents only which is brilliant

Our room and en-suite were clean and functional and breakfast excellent. The hotel pool, sauna, games room and a bar with a big screen but our short stay didn't give us time to try them out. The lift was sloooooow. Seats were provided by the lift doors which we joked about as we waited. A decent car park which was free (as we booked direct with the hotel). All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful which was especially noticeable with the serving staff at breakfast.

A week away with family and friends, we experienced the and comfort of the hotel.The pleasant surroundings of the hotel allowed you to full relaxed. All the staff are lovely and helpful and cannot enough for you. Having stayed on breakfast and evening package we experienced all the menus available and found the food to be first class.Having stayed at this hotel before I believe it is always improving and in my opinion you will find it difficult to find a better stay in Bournemouth.

I went with a friend for a Sunday evening meal in the restaurant. There was a good choice on the menu. In addition there were two sunday roasts offered - pork or beef. I had beef. My friend had pork. Both were excellent. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back again

My first stay at this Hotel was a pleasant surprise. Friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Lovely food for Breakfast and Evening meal in the bar area as we were with our pet dog Charlie. Very pleasant modern decor hotel. Extremely helpful and friendly staff in the restuarant, bar and reception. Comfortable room with tea making facilites. Swimming pool was quite cool but the sauna made up for that. Pleaseant little spa area. 5 mins from the beach. Food was very good and well presented. We had a very comfortable stay.

Great price for a family of 3 and it was pet friendly. Room excellent, if a little small.Breakfast was cooked individually which was very tasty and everyone friendly.

The hotel was clean, warm and welcoming . The decor was unique and lovely. Staff were friendly, helpfull and professional. They had respect for the owners of the hotel, which reflected in their teamwork. We had a cosy double room which was a good size. Bed was comfortable, towells white and fluffy. Curtains kept out the light. We didn't use the pool, but it looked inviting. Games room had Pool Table, Table Tennis and Table Football, which were all unusablly free. The outside area was inviting, maybe some might struggle with the steps going down, but I did spot a stairlift inside. This is our new hotel when visiting Bournemouth.

Although it was my first visit there , I was very impressed with the look of the Hotel . And the first moment that I walked in I had a very nice welcome , which you sometimes you don't get in some hotels , and the receptionist was very polite . The room was very nice and very clean , and I was pleased to see a very good selection of coffee , tea and also hot chocolate . When I came back down I saw a different receptionist , and she introduced herself it was Klaudia , and yet again she made me welcome . The next morning I went for breakfast , and met another receptionist , her name was Barbara , so I have come to the conclusion that the staff in this hotel , that nothing is to much trouble to make your stay , a happy one . So , I have decided to go for my holidays at that Hotel next year , and I recommend this hotel to anybody . Well done . Before I forget the breakfast is great , and a good selection and the dinning staff are friendly and also nothing is to much trouble . This hotel was wonderful. The decor and feel of the place is second to none and the staff are fantastic. We had a lovely room, very modern with lovely decor and facilities. We felt very welcomed and nothing was too much trouble.

New owners are trying to change the hotel. That's fine but they need too remember that some of their clientele are not immune to change but in but in moderation. Try too keep some of the original values.

My husband and I decided to go to Bournemouth from Tues-Thurs this week, as he had been poorly and we had to cancel our holiday abroad. We have stayed at the Collingwood on several previous occasions and it's location is excellent. We could easily walk into town and there is a bus stop opposite. All the staff were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and the presentation was lovely. The hotel has been tastefully updated since our last visit and is spotlessly clean.

Been there with my daughter to celebrate the mother's day, service was amazing , fabulous staff, Peter and karolinia they made my day. Food we had was superb. Memorable day, definitely will be going back again soon.

Met with a warm welcome and found the staff very friendly. Things to aware of close to centre but a tiring climb back to hotel, reported problem in bathroom had to make three requests before fixed by Duty Manager if B&B only you are not allocated a table

Rooms vary in size and quality. Our room had a walk in shower. But was tight for room where the toilet was. There was not much room for our dogs bed. She is only a small dog, so this room 212 would be impossible for a larger dog. Complimentary toiletries were supplied at the beginning of our stay; one small shower gel, shampoo and a soap. Shower was temperamental and hard to get to the right temperature and did not have a good water flow. Staff are friendly and professional. Good food at both breakfast and evening meal. Plenty of choice.

Another brilliant weekend at this very friendly and well managed hotel. 50+ sequence dancers enjoyed every moment of their stay. Good food, lovely attentive staff. The food was wonderful and the room was well equipped for making tea/coffee, no fiddly little jug kettle but a full size one. Hooray. The hotel is a short walk from the pier, beach and town centre although it is a bit of a climb getting back. The rooms had been refurbished in part and the beds were very comfortable. If there is anything to moan about (little moan), it's that the ballroom air conditioning was a bit hit and miss, With 50 + people dancing, it can get a little over heated. I was able to go outside however and cool off quickly. The ballroom is comfortable with that number of people, any more and it would be a little bit of a squash. Nevertheless, the floor dance surface was well tended to, there were enough tables set out for drink and we also danced to live music, so a great experience yet again.

We stayed here over the weekend and had a great stay! We met up with friends and everyone was very pleased that we choose the Collingwood. Our rooms were nice and spacious, the bed very comfortable and nice fluffy towels. Breakfast was excellent, we love the 'Full Dorset'. Staff we smiley and helpful. Stayed for 2 nights, had a large room with a view of the sea, room was clean and in good repair, breakfast was great, bar is good with a good selection, staff are all very helpful and friendly, hotel is a couple of minutes from the front in a good spot, value was fair, I would go again and recomend it, you can can go half board but we eat out of a evening.

Me and my daughter stayed here for 1 night the staff was very friendly and hotel was clean. We went to the pool it was very small and the changing room was tiny the gym was very disappointing it was a tiny room with a few exercise machines about 4 all very close together very claustrophobic it was like a store cupboard. The room was very hot we slept with the window open but it did not cool the room down we both really struggled to sleep we woke up very unrested the breakfast was ok .

We have used this venue twice now to hold regional meetings, with delegates travelling from across the South. The Hotel is in an excellent location, easy to get to, close to both the beaches & town centre, with ample parking. The conference facilities are excellent with all of our requirements and requests being easily catered for. All of the staff we interacted with were extremely polite, helpful and knowledgeable. But a special thanks to Emma and Jana who ensured our meetings ran smoothly and we were well looked after. We will definitely be looking to hold more meetings and events here and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bournemouth for either business or pleasure.

Viewing from the outside very smart and also communal rooms very smart but quest rooms need some attention. Examples: flaking paint on radiator, toilet brush dirty and no cover, thick dust in radiator, shower tray stained, broken window lock. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good. Free parking at rear.

It was our first visit to the Collingwood and we could not have been more happy. The staff are delightful the hotel was spotless and so close to all amenities I would deffo recommend and will most certainly visit this establishment again. The entertainment was a bonus we did not expect on all nights we stayed and to boot a happy hour.

We have stayed here about 3 years ago and are very wary of returning to the same hotel in case it doesnt live up to our previous experience! Once again the hotel was excellent in every way. We stayed for 3 nights half board. We had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choices and an excellent dinner which was most enjoyable. The staff in the restaurant were very polite and we were served well every meal time. Nothing was too much trouble.Our room was clean , very spacious. The room had all the normal tea/coffee etc.There is an indoor pool/sauna complex plus a games room etc. This hotel is well worth a visit. The hotel has a large car park, it is about 5 mins from the town and 2 mins from the beach. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

EIght of the family arrived Wednesday afternoon till Sunday lunchtime. Waiters also coped with friends adding to table on a couple of nights. Food very good and served hot.Quite varied.Spotlessly clean white linen table cloths. Lounge all redecorated in soft colours, and comfortable sofas. Superior bedrooms were good. Bathrooms should have washing line over bath to dry swimwear from pool! Also need to install a safe. If Telford 3 Star can provide these so should 3 star in Bournemouthmeith no extra charge. We all enjoyed the Staff and their help with putting Cake in cold room and taking out to cut a few times. Only saw Owners on last day, would have been more professional for one of them to come around each evening to ask guests if everything was to our liking, but never saw them at beginning . But we were happy and sunshine and the Air Display made a lovely 50th to remember.Twins were seven and older brother 10, they enjoyed their time at Hotel in pool.Well done Staff. There was an excellent singer providing the entertainment on two of the evenings I was there and a good atmosphere. Best of all it was just a short walk to the town centre.

You won't be disappointed if you stay here. The foyer/reception has recently been refurbished giving a feel of luxury to your stay. The staff are most helpful. There is a pool that's clean and was enjoyed by our family during our stay. There is a small bar which has a happy hour. Entertainment and dance floor. We had breakfast included and this was also delicious and non greasy. There were gluten free options and cakes available. Can't recommend enough.

Just returned from a lovely 2 week stay at Hotel Collingwood. Excellent, friendly and efficient hotel where nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was freshly cooked and our evening meals were very good. Looking forward to our next stay.

Due to the fantastic weather this summer we decided to come back to Bournemouth and this great hotel. The lovely staff provide a warm welcome and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The bar has a great selection on local drinks and great cocktails. Breakfast is lovely, we also had dinner on one night which was excellent. The beach is a few minutes walk, Bournemouth is very busy but there is no problem getting around and lots of great places to visit nearby such as the Purbecks and Hengistbury Head. The Collingwood is a great base to explore the area. Happy to recommend!

This is a lovely hotel with extremely friendly staff. We stayed at the Collingwood for a family holiday adults and kids all had a great time. We had 2 lovely rooms, clean and comfy. There is a nice swimming pool and great food options for adults and kids. The hotel is located a short walk from the town centre and the beach with plenty of free safe parking. We had a lovely time and will be back soon. X

Clean single room with a very large bed for one. Super comfy! Great shower! Very friendly staff and great cocktails. The breakfast was served and freshly cooked, with a good choice. Restaurant menu changed daily and was excellent. Parking was under cover which was welcome in the heat of August. There is also free wifi and a small lift. Great place to stay and will definately return for the convention next year!

Booked a family room based on the description of the room and the photos on the hotel website but we were given an exceptionally small room that was nothing like the photos and which cost over £200 a night. The breakfast was a weird experience and was basically awful to the extent that we chose to find a cafe instead on the last morning even though it had been included in the price. The good points were happy hour in the bar 5-6 and friendly bar staff, the pool area is also nice.

Very disappointed not worth the large amount of money I paid. The room is tiny does not look modern like the pictures. The wall has lots of different shades of yellow and white paint where they've obviously tried to paint over and marks all over it. The window will not open and the room is very hot. (It is only about 16 degrees outside) asked for window to be fixed wasn't done had to chase again and then was offered a fan. Half of a tap is missing the bathroom, tiny and dingy. Just so disappointing for the almost 500 paid for 3 nights.

Am writing this from room 122 in the early hours as unable to sleep due to a loud humming noise coming from a large mechanical (fan? Air con?) unit right outside my room! Shutting the window makes no difference as it's vibrating up through the wall!! The nice chap on reception has tried to turn everything off, but is unable to sort this particular machine... Will ask to change rooms for tomorrow night.... Hotel accepts pet's, but I wouldn't say it's particularly 'friendly'. No garden or grassy area and room 122 is a 5 minute walk through corridors, up steps and world's slowest lift to get out the front door!! The room itself is pleasant and clean. TV works well; lovely big mirror with plug next to it! Plenty tea/coffee; cosy bed! Needs a new headboard!!

Fantastic service all round. Food was very good.Hotel was very clean and welcoming.Staff where fantastic. We stayed in a family room on the ground floor which could have only been enhanced by having a ceiling fan or air con as the weather that weekend was unusually hot and the temperature in the room remained hot throughout our stay.(As we were on the ground floor we did not want to leave the windows open all night.) We mentioned it to the hotel and they promptly supplied a fan. Hope to stay here again !

Good food/very friendly staff, room very clean. I hope to return to this Hotel again in August.Booking very easy by telephone or via the internet.Location up a very steep hill but local Bus stop right outside the Hotel. Very large carpark .Free parking when you book into the Hotel

Stayed for 2 nights over the late bank holiday. We picked this hotel because of its location and plenty of on-site parking compared to other establishments. Very friendly staff, lovely communal facilities and clean rooms. We did not stay for the breakfast or food so I can't comment on that. The furniture in the room was a little dated but it's a personal taste I guess. The only reason it's not a perfect score was due to the high room temperature. We were in room 119 at the back of the hotel and the window can only open out to 3 inches max! A fan was already in the room but even when left on all day (the room attendants also left it on, thank you!) the heat was quite intense when we got back. As it was a bank holiday it was unlikely there was a spare Twin room available in the hotel so we just made do and had not asked reception. The only few minor cons would be few plug sockets, after plugging in the tv and fan there where was only one at the bottom of the bedside table but it was too close to the ground to plug a phone charger where the charging cable sticks out at the bottom. Overall, if the temperature issue is fixed, we'd be more than happy to stay here again and more than happy to recommend this hotel to others.

My family has just come back from our holiday stay at the Hotel Collingwood I would like what a fantastic hotel on arrival the staff were very helpful straight away our rooms were cleaned every day and beds were made and fresh towels put on our beds by a wonderful and helpful young lady unfortunately did not get her name. The breakfast was hot and what a treat having our cooked breakfast brought to the table instead of self service. The staff at breakfast were very polite as well. Our room was on the third floor and we had a sea view which was very nice the family room was fine for three people. We also enjoyed the evening entertainment which made a nice change. The hotel is very close to the beach and restaurants whether you stay on rhe Eastcliff or Westcliff side. Thank you to everyone who works at the hotel we had a lovely time and we look forward to spending another family holiday at the Hotel Collingwood.

Not the hotels fault but the room was so hot we did not sleep a bit!! The window opened a fraction. Fan didn't help at all. Very noisy road with people shouting at night! Nice room with a comfortable bed but very small. We liked the fact it was near to everything in Bournemouth including the beach. Very steep steps down the cliff and down to the superb Sandy beach. The pool area was something we were looking forward to and we had it all to ourselves. You need to turn the steam room and sauna on to use it but No one told us this was started by a key in the wall which we found by accident. Nice clean changing room. The bar is nice with happy hour between 5 and 6 which meant half price drinks! But when they are not half price drinks are expensive. Looks nice at night with everything lit with little lights. We enjoyed ourselves anyway and would probably go back and stay there in the winter but not summer!

We stayed earlier this month, we have been coming for several years now and its changed a lot for the better. The owners have done an amazing job with all of the patterns in the rooms and in the lounge. Food was outstanding. They also offer a good selection on the children's menu. They have great facilities such as a gym, an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The beds are nice and comfy and the rooms are very spacious. Very nice staff from the front desk to the cleaners to the waiters and waitress and even to management they helped us so much. For people with dogs, you can request a dog-friendly room however you do have to pay £10 per night per dog and you can only have 2 dogs per room. You can also request a pet pack which gives you tips on where to walk your dog and any dog-friendly beaches. I would definitely recommend coming to this hotel.

We meet with friends most years in Bournemouth and,this year decided on Hotel Collingwood. On arrival we discovered it was up a very steep hill and on an extremely busy noisy road, to be fair we were offered a back room but we had chosen our room for the large walk in shower to,suit our needs so we therefore declined, and the room was large and airy but very hot we needed 2 fans to help keep cool and no air conditioning in this room at the front of hotel. The room was clean even though rather dated. The staff were friendly and obliging but cooked breakfast was fine but continental disappointing advertised as pastries but only crossoints available and very limited fruit on show so had to ask for more variety. Dinner was very hot but rather bland and not a huge choice. The owners are fairly new and trying hard to,achieve a good hotel. On leaving we were asked if,everything was ok I mentioned,the matress was lumpy,and,immediately a,fresh one was sent up to the room for the new guests. Would I stay here again unfortunately not due to the busy noisy area and the difficulty walking to the beach for the likes of us less mobile people.

Please look at photos before paying out £160 A Night for a room . A Very disappointing stay (We had a lot of issue whilst staying at the hotel) from booking in , to leaving . A couple were rectified, Adam arranged for an afternoon Tea to compensate for the mix up over check in and not meeting our requirements. And also allowed us to park in the car park the next day. Thanks you Adam for that. However I am still awaiting a phone call from a Manager (which I was informed they would call me (as off) as fell off a damaged chair and was told by some kind of manager on Sunday morning, they do not have certain authority (authority for what I don't know) - But they would get someone in a higher position to call? Still waiting on that call! I would like to mention some off the staff were very nice and kind. Breakfast was also disappointing - Not much on offer and waited a long time to be served. No fans in my Mothers room (we asked before arrival) They did however bring one up when mentioned. The rooms however are not up to standard . Unfortunately I do not think i will return to this hotel and my Birthday was a little spoilt by the whole experience.

The Staff were friendly. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The swimming pool was a nice treat but could have been bigger & looks a little tired. Jacuzzi was ok. There was a steam room & a sauna. Our room was a family room with a walk in shower which was very good. However the room was on the ground floor but we had to walk up 4 stairs & then in the room there was another step into the room. The toilet was separate to the shower & sink. The sink was old with old taps. There wasn't a safe in the room which was disappointing & there was no air conditioning. The double bed was a small double with a single in the room. There was plenty of storage & hangers. There was a kettle with tea & coffee. Our first night there was a lot of noise from guests above us. We looked out onto the car park. There are no sea views from this hotel. The hotel is situated @ the top of a steep hill but only a 5 minute walk to the beach or the centre.

Great to be back at my favourite spot in Bournemouth. The beach is beautiful and the water is so warm at the moment. The staff are friendly and we really enjoyed the cocktails, the gin cocktails are great. We ate in the bar one evening as its dog friendly and I had a burger which was great ! Looking forward to my next trip to this lovely seaside town.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay at the Hotel Collingwood. The best thing is the staff, nothing is too much trouble. The kids loved all the attention and were made to feel at home. Also, the swimming pool is great to cool down in this hot weather. Breakfast was excellent with nice pancakes for the kids. We also had dinner one evening which was excellent again the lovely staff made it fun and relaxing. We had a family suite which was great for the kids and adults. Happy to recommend for a family stay.

Absolutely first class staff, incredibly accommodating. Breakfast was cooked to order, lovely and great options. Our room was airy and clean. The location is excellent, a short walk to the beach and town centre. Plenty of parking which is a real bonus in the centre of town. We have been before and will come again, happy to recommend.

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and took Me here last weekend, when arriving in the hotel we were welcomed by such friendly staff! We stayed here for 3 nights. It was a brilliant location for us as we walked into the town and on to the sea front every day :-) the staff were so kind and friendly and would definitely do anything to help us. It was lush as we didn't have to pay for parking. Nor did we have to drive anywhere due to the perfect location. As mentioned before on some of the reviews the room was very very warm. But I suppose what do we expect this time of year when it's schorching outside anyway. We always went to bed with the fan on which helped a little :-) Our room was always kept so clean and always stocked up on coffee, milk, sugar etc which was very handy :-) We only had breakfast on of the mornings and I wasn't overly fussed on mine as I decided to have American pancakes which I had never tried before. But my partner had a fry up which looked lush! I would definitely like to return to this hotel, as I love Bournemouth. There was a singer on the Friday night which was brilliant. The guests seemed to have liked him! Thank you Hotel Colingwood for a brilliant stay :-)

Excellent hotel, we have stayed here four times in the last year and already have two stays booked before the end of the year. Customer service is 100% from all the team: the receptionsts, bar and restaurant staff, as well as the manager and owners. Nothing is too much trouble from any of them. Rooms are spacious, light, and contain everything you would want in a hotel room. Location is very close to the beach and town centre which includes a wide range of shops, well within walking distance, and within a 30 min drive of other beaches and places to visit. The two things I like best is the lovely staff and the evenings entertainment

Very convenient position for shops and sea front, quite a climb up the hill though. Room only OK as no air con and bathroom was tiny. Friends had much better room so ask for larger room as it is worth paying the extra. However it was clean. Public areas nicely decorated. Staff helpful and very polite. Breakfast was OK but did have to mention that the fruit bowl needed some variety as just prunes and grapefruit (no berries, apple, pears etc even though summer time!) and that many guests would be unable to enjoy the grapefruit if on certain medicines. Great to have on site parking.

My daughter and I stayed at the Collingwood while visiting Bournemouth University. I thought it was fairly expensive at the time of booking but it was a rare treat so decided to splash out. It was extremely disappointing. Our room was on the third floor with a view over buildings and the car park. It was like an oven inside and sun was streaming in the window which couldn't open very far. The fan did nothing to cool us down. The décor is dated and there were chips on the loo seat. Also, we couldn't drain water from the bath as the plug got stuck. I thought breakfast would make up for it but again, very disappointing. Nothing seemed fresh and the packets of cereal were all sweet and geared towards children. I ordered porridge with banana and was told there were no bananas. The porridge was inedible - it was more like ready brek and gloopy and grey. My daughter ordered pancakes which were also out of a packet. I have never complained about anything before on Trip Advisor but I just feel that people should be prepared to be underwhelmed when spending the sort of money the Collingwood are charging.

We stayed for two nights at hotel Collingwood and I must say we were very underwhelmed. We arrived and it was really hot. There is no air con despite the premium price! We asked for a fan and got a small desk fan but due to the location of the plug sockets made not much difference to the room temperature, we went out and bought an additional fan. We got seated at breakfast and waited 25 mins until someone took our order. There was no orange or apple juice left and took a long time to get some. The full English was a bit rubbish and really not worth the wait however the pancakes were lovely. The staff are really polite and friendly but not in a rush to serve at the bar or restaurant. The evening entertainment was suited to an older audience with Cabaret from the 60s and 70s. Our room was on the small side and the shower was so clogged up with lime scale we got a trickle of water which wasn't ideal after sweating away in the non air conditioned rooms. We wouldn't stay here again but the location is great for the town centre if you don't mind climbing a steep hill.

Good clean hotel, similar to what you will find in the area. Great parking and the swimming pool was beneficial. Outside seating area looked good as well as the bar. Found the WiFi poor however, kept dropping out and was slow even though the signal varied between average and strong. I was using an app which generally doesn't require a high speed connection.

This was our 7th visit to this hotel and the first time since it changed to Best Western. Once again we could not fault the staff or the cleanliness of the place. However there is a plus and a minus. The plus is the fact that dogs are now allowed in the lounge, bar and terrace area. The minus is the lack of evening entertainment. There was always live music every night to listen or dance to. This time it was on only one night during our stay. After being out all day in the heat, it is nice to sit in cool lounge and be entertained.I was told at the time of booking that entertainment would be provided when the hotel was full. I was told that it was full, so I don't understand why we didn't have any.

Only just become part of the BW franchise and as I stay in Bournemouth regularly I thought I'd give it a try and was very pleased I did. Staff were really friendly, food excellent and the room I had was massive and came with a sea view. I appreciate I probably had an upgrade but it worked, I'll be staying here again! This hotel is now the first I check when I book for Bournemouth.

Stayed at the Collingwood for one night in June 2018. A wonderful hotel in a brilliant location in the town. Check in was fine . When we got to the room there was an air cooler as the weather was rather warm. All of the staff in the hotel were very professional and always very helpful when we needed information. Our only gripe is the price for the breakfast as we didn't book B&B when we booked, we paid 12.50 as opposed to 8.50 if we had booked breakfast when we booked the room. All that said i would not hesitate to book this hotel again and i would definitely recommend to friends and colleagues.

Myself and a friend stayed overnight in June, check in was fine as was the room, there was an air machine put in the room as it was hot. on checkin we asked the price of breakfast should we require it, we were told £10 each. The area is ok, although there appear to be a few DSSS hotels around and a student hostel. its a steep walk back from the beach. The night we were there there was a summer party organised, obviously the guests were not invited (well we certainly were not) and this made us feel awkward as all these people dressed up were arriving, so we ate out. The next morning we decided to have breakfast and were told it was £12.50 had it gone up overnight? i asked? I payed it and noticed that even on the board outside the hotel it said £10 so i asked for the difference to be refunded, which after a bit of arguing received overall, its a decent hotel and fine for an overnight stay..

We stayed at the Collingwood in February and had a great time! We decided to come back with our kids for the weekend to make the most of the glorious weather! The Hotel has undergone further refurbishments since our last visit and looks very classy! We had a lovely family room which was spotless with a large tv and comfortable beds. The kids loved the pool and games room and the adults enjoyed the bar and the delicious 'Gin Collingwood'. Meals in the restaurant are great, staff cannot do enough for you. Bournemouth beach is beautiful in the sunshine, can't wait to return!
