"My first visit"
Simon C, 11 Avril 2019

Although it was my first visit there , I was very impressed with the look of the Hotel . And the first moment that I walked in I had a very nice welcome , which you sometimes you don't get in some hotels , and the receptionist was very polite . The room was very nice and very clean , and I was pleased to see a very good selection of coffee , tea and also hot chocolate . When I came back down I saw a different receptionist , and she introduced herself it was Klaudia , and yet again she made me welcome . The next morning I went for breakfast , and met another receptionist , her name was Barbara , so I have come to the conclusion that the staff in this hotel , that nothing is to much trouble to make your stay , a happy one . So , I have decided to go for my holidays at that Hotel next year , and I recommend this hotel to anybody . Well done . Before I forget the breakfast is great , and a good selection and the dinning staff are friendly and also nothing is to much trouble . And also the rest of the staff are very helpful , if you need anything . Well done to you all . All the Best . Simon x

"Wonderful short stay"
gail_drysdale, 10 Avril 2019

This hotel was wonderful. The decor and feel of the place is second to none and the staff are fantastic. We had a lovely room, very modern with lovely decor and facilities. We felt very welcomed and nothing was too much trouble.

"Usually good."
Richard P, 08 Avril 2019

New owners are trying to change the hotel. That's fine but they need too remember that some of their clientele are not immune to change but in but in moderation. Try too keep some of the original values.

"A mid week break"
beamanning, 05 Avril 2019

My husband and I decided to go to Bournemouth from Tues-Thurs this week, as he had been poorly and we had to cancel our holiday abroad. We have stayed at the Collingwood on several previous occasions and it's location is excellent. We could easily walk into town and there is a bus stop opposite. All the staff were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and the presentation was lovely. The hotel has been tastefully updated since our last visit and is spotlessly clean.

"Mother's day"
Laurennjade26, 04 Avril 2019

Been there with my daughter to celebrate the mother's day, service was amazing , fabulous staff, Peter and karolinia they made my day. Food we had was superb. Memorable day, definitely will be going back again soon.

"Good"
mitchell003, 11 Octobre 2018

Met with a warm welcome and found the staff very friendly. Things to aware of close to centre but a tiring climb back to hotel, reported problem in bathroom had to make three requests before fixed by Duty Manager if B&B only you are not allocated a table

"Dog friendly and good service "
Rosemary W, 08 Octobre 2018

Rooms vary in size and quality. Our room had a walk in shower. But was tight for room where the toilet was. There was not much room for our dogs bed. She is only a small dog, so this room 212 would be impossible for a larger dog. Complimentary toiletries were supplied at the beginning of our stay; one small shower gel, shampoo and a soap. Shower was temperamental and hard to get to the right temperature and did not have a good water flow. Staff are friendly and professional. Good food at both breakfast and evening meal. Plenty of choice.

"Hot to (fox) trot"
owlfancier, 02 Octobre 2018

Another brilliant weekend at this very friendly and well managed hotel. 50+ sequence dancers enjoyed every moment of their stay. Good food, lovely attentive staff. The food was wonderful and the room was well equipped for making tea/coffee, no fiddly little jug kettle but a full size one. Hooray. The hotel is a short walk from the pier, beach and town centre although it is a bit of a climb getting back. The rooms had been refurbished in part and the beds were very comfortable. If there is anything to moan about (little moan), it's that the ballroom air conditioning was a bit hit and miss, With 50 + people dancing, it can get a little over heated. I was able to go outside however and cool off quickly. The ballroom is comfortable with that number of people, any more and it would be a little bit of a squash. Nevertheless, the floor dance surface was well tended to, there were enough tables set out for drink and we also danced to live music, so a great experience yet again.

"Great stay"
Ann C, 01 Octobre 2018

Very friendly hotel. All the staff were welcoming and offered to help on several occaitions, nothing was toomuch trouble. Very clean spacious room. A good breakfast and lots of choice for evening meal. Swimming pool a bonus. We had a great stay thanks.

"Excellent Hotel!!"
Mitchel119, 30 Septembre 2018

We stayed here over the weekend and had a great stay! We met up with friends and everyone was very pleased that we choose the Collingwood. Our rooms were nice and spacious, the bed very comfortable and nice fluffy towels. Breakfast was excellent, we love the 'Full Dorset'. Staff we smiley and helpful. The weather was great so, altogether a great stay, thank you!

Just returned from a 7 day stay hotel excellent and staff couldn't do enough for you Very friendly and welcoming would definitely recommend, food excellent a good choice Close to town center and beach.

"Nice Hotel"
cavus, 21 Septembre 2018

Stayed for 2 nights, had a large room with a view of the sea, room was clean and in good repair, breakfast was great, bar is good with a good selection, staff are all very helpful and friendly, hotel is a couple of minutes from the front in a good spot, value was fair, I would go again and recomend it, you can can go half board but we eat out of a evening.

"Disappointed "
sandra m, 19 Septembre 2018

Me and my daughter stayed here for 1 night the staff was very friendly and hotel was clean. We went to the pool it was very small and the changing room was tiny the gym was very disappointing it was a tiny room with a few exercise machines about 4 all very close together very claustrophobic it was like a store cupboard. The room was very hot we slept with the window open but it did not cool the room down we both really struggled to sleep we woke up very unrested the breakfast was ok .

"Outstanding facilities, exceptional service"
RichieC85, 10 Septembre 2018

We have used this venue twice now to hold regional meetings, with delegates travelling from across the South. The Hotel is in an excellent location, easy to get to, close to both the beaches & town centre, with ample parking. The conference facilities are excellent with all of our requirements and requests being easily catered for. All of the staff we interacted with were extremely polite, helpful and knowledgeable. But a special thanks to Emma and Jana who ensured our meetings ran smoothly and we were well looked after. We will definitely be looking to hold more meetings and events here and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bournemouth for either business or pleasure.

"Good location for town and beaches."
mrsyeomansm, 05 Septembre 2018

Viewing from the outside very smart and also communal rooms very smart but quest rooms need some attention. Examples: flaking paint on radiator, toilet brush dirty and no cover, thick dust in radiator, shower tray stained, broken window lock. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good. Free parking at rear.

"Excellent weekend break"
Karen W, 04 Septembre 2018

It was our first visit to the Collingwood and we could not have been more happy. The staff are delightful the hotel was spotless and so close to all amenities I would deffo recommend and will most certainly visit this establishment again. The entertainment was a bonus we did not expect on all nights we stayed and to boot a happy hour.

"Lovely Break, great hotel"
Seb C, 04 Septembre 2018

We have stayed here about 3 years ago and are very wary of returning to the same hotel in case it doesnt live up to our previous experience! Once again the hotel was excellent in every way. We stayed for 3 nights half board. We had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choices and an excellent dinner which was most enjoyable. The staff in the restaurant were very polite and we were served well every meal time. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean , very spacious. The room had all the normal tea/coffee etc. There is an indoor pool/sauna complex plus a games room etc. This hotel is well worth a visit. The hotel has a large car park, it is about 5 mins from the town and 2 mins from the beach. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

"Enjoyed our Golden Wedding Family Celebration here, and Staff were very helpful."
PAT L, 04 Septembre 2018

EIght of the family arrived Wednesday afternoon till Sunday lunchtime. Waiters also coped with friends adding to table on a couple of nights. Food very good and served hot.Quite varied.Spotlessly clean white linen table cloths. Lounge all redecorated in soft colours, and comfortable sofas. Superior bedrooms were good. Bathrooms should have washing line over bath to dry swimwear from pool! Also need to install a safe. If Telford 3 Star can provide these so should 3 star in Bournemouthmeith no extra charge. We all enjoyed the Staff and their help with putting Cake in cold room and taking out to cut a few times. Only saw Owners on last day, would have been more professional for one of them to come around each evening to ask guests if everything was to our liking, but never saw them at beginning . But we were happy and sunshine and the Air Display made a lovely 50th to remember.Twins were seven and older brother 10, they enjoyed their time at Hotel in pool.Well done Staff. The Lane Family.Essex.

"Lovely three day stay"
AnneC315, 03 Septembre 2018

Couldn't fault this hotel. The staff were friendly and the lounge area was very pleasant. I was staying alone and didn't eat in the restaurant but breakfast was fine. There was an excellent singer providing the entertainment on two of the evenings I was there and a good atmosphere. Best of all it was just a short walk to the town centre.

"Fantastic hotel"
osllvj, 24 Août 2018

You won't be disappointed if you stay here. The foyer/reception has recently been refurbished giving a feel of luxury to your stay. The staff are most helpful. There is a pool that's clean and was enjoyed by our family during our stay. There is a small bar which has a happy hour. Entertainment and dance floor. We had breakfast included and this was also delicious and non greasy. There were gluten free options and cakes available. Can't recommend enough.

"August 2018 Annual Holiday"
Michael W, 23 Août 2018

Just returned from a lovely 2 week stay at Hotel Collingwood. Excellent, friendly and efficient hotel where nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was freshly cooked and our evening meals were very good. Looking forward to our next stay.

"Another Great Stay!"
8a8b, 14 Août 2018

Due to the fantastic weather this summer we decided to come back to Bournemouth and this great hotel. The lovely staff provide a warm welcome and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The bar has a great selection on local drinks and great cocktails. Breakfast is lovely, we also had dinner on one night which was excellent. The beach is a few minutes walk, Bournemouth is very busy but there is no problem getting around and lots of great places to visit nearby such as the Purbecks and Hengistbury Head. The Collingwood is a great base to explore the area. Happy to recommend!

"Fantastic hotel with great parking "
Cabby1987, 12 Août 2018

This is a lovely hotel with extremely friendly staff. We stayed at the Collingwood for a family holiday adults and kids all had a great time. We had 2 lovely rooms, clean and comfy. There is a nice swimming pool and great food options for adults and kids. The hotel is located a short walk from the town centre and the beach with plenty of free safe parking. We had a lovely time and will be back soon. X

"Great value, excellent food"
annkerley, 12 Août 2018

Clean single room with a very large bed for one. Super comfy! Great shower! Very friendly staff and great cocktails. The breakfast was served and freshly cooked, with a good choice. Restaurant menu changed daily and was excellent. Parking was under cover which was welcome in the heat of August. There is also free wifi and a small lift. Great place to stay and will definately return for the convention next year!

"Misleading descriptions and photos on website"
EmmaGordon6, 12 Août 2018

Booked a family room based on the description of the room and the photos on the hotel website but we were given an exceptionally small room that was nothing like the photos and which cost over £200 a night. The breakfast was a weird experience and was basically awful to the extent that we chose to find a cafe instead on the last morning even though it had been included in the price. The good points were happy hour in the bar 5-6 and friendly bar staff, the pool area is also nice.

"Tiny room and outdated"
Samantha P, 11 Août 2018

Very disappointed not worth the large amount of money I paid. The room is tiny does not look modern like the pictures. The wall has lots of different shades of yellow and white paint where they've obviously tried to paint over and marks all over it. The window will not open and the room is very hot. (It is only about 16 degrees outside) asked for window to be fixed wasn't done had to chase again and then was offered a fan. Half of a tap is missing the bathroom, tiny and dingy. Just so disappointing for the almost 500 paid for 3 nights.

"4 o clock in the morning"
Sunny S, 09 Août 2018

Am writing this from room 122 in the early hours as unable to sleep due to a loud humming noise coming from a large mechanical (fan? Air con?) unit right outside my room! Shutting the window makes no difference as it's vibrating up through the wall!! The nice chap on reception has tried to turn everything off, but is unable to sort this particular machine... Will ask to change rooms for tomorrow night.... Hotel accepts pet's, but I wouldn't say it's particularly 'friendly'. No garden or grassy area and room 122 is a 5 minute walk through corridors, up steps and world's slowest lift to get out the front door!! The room itself is pleasant and clean. TV works well; lovely big mirror with plug next to it! Plenty tea/coffee; cosy bed! Needs a new headboard!!

"Mr J Peek"
John P, 09 Août 2018

Fantastic service all round. Food was very good.Hotel was very clean and welcoming.Staff where fantastic. We stayed in a family room on the ground floor which could have only been enhanced by having a ceiling fan or air con as the weather that weekend was unusually hot and the temperature in the room remained hot throughout our stay.(As we were on the ground floor we did not want to leave the windows open all night.) We mentioned it to the hotel and they promptly supplied a fan. Hope to stay here again !

"Excellent Hotel."
treveu, 06 Août 2018

Good food/very friendly staff, room very clean. I hope to return to this Hotel again in August.Booking very easy by telephone or via the internet.Location up a very steep hill but local Bus stop right outside the Hotel. Very large carpark .Free parking when you book into the Hotel

"Great location and parking"
Angela C, 03 Août 2018

Stayed for 2 nights over the late bank holiday. We picked this hotel because of its location and plenty of on-site parking compared to other establishments. Very friendly staff, lovely communal facilities and clean rooms. We did not stay for the breakfast or food so I can't comment on that. The furniture in the room was a little dated but it's a personal taste I guess. The only reason it's not a perfect score was due to the high room temperature. We were in room 119 at the back of the hotel and the window can only open out to 3 inches max! A fan was already in the room but even when left on all day (the room attendants also left it on, thank you!) the heat was quite intense when we got back. As it was a bank holiday it was unlikely there was a spare Twin room available in the hotel so we just made do and had not asked reception. The only few minor cons would be few plug sockets, after plugging in the tv and fan there where was only one at the bottom of the bedside table but it was too close to the ground to plug a phone charger where the charging cable sticks out at the bottom. Overall, if the temperature issue is fixed, we'd be more than happy to stay here again and more than happy to recommend this hotel to others.

"Family holiday"
roch1910, 02 Août 2018

My family has just come back from our holiday stay at the Hotel Collingwood I would like what a fantastic hotel on arrival the staff were very helpful straight away our rooms were cleaned every day and beds were made and fresh towels put on our beds by a wonderful and helpful young lady unfortunately did not get her name. The breakfast was hot and what a treat having our cooked breakfast brought to the table instead of self service. The staff at breakfast were very polite as well. Our room was on the third floor and we had a sea view which was very nice the family room was fine for three people. We also enjoyed the evening entertainment which made a nice change. The hotel is very close to the beach and restaurants whether you stay on rhe Eastcliff or Westcliff side. Thank you to everyone who works at the hotel we had a lovely time and we look forward to spending another family holiday at the Hotel Collingwood.

"So hot!!"
Joanne T, 01 Août 2018

Not the hotels fault but the room was so hot we did not sleep a bit!! The window opened a fraction. Fan didn't help at all. Very noisy road with people shouting at night! Nice room with a comfortable bed but very small. We liked the fact it was near to everything in Bournemouth including the beach. Very steep steps down the cliff and down to the superb Sandy beach. The pool area was something we were looking forward to and we had it all to ourselves. You need to turn the steam room and sauna on to use it but No one told us this was started by a key in the wall which we found by accident. Nice clean changing room. The bar is nice with happy hour between 5 and 6 which meant half price drinks! But when they are not half price drinks are expensive. Looks nice at night with everything lit with little lights. We enjoyed ourselves anyway and would probably go back and stay there in the winter but not summer!

"The Best Hotel In Bournemouth"
George M, 31 Juillet 2018

We stayed earlier this month, we have been coming for several years now and its changed a lot for the better. The owners have done an amazing job with all of the patterns in the rooms and in the lounge. Food was outstanding. They also offer a good selection on the children's menu. They have great facilities such as a gym, an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The beds are nice and comfy and the rooms are very spacious. Very nice staff from the front desk to the cleaners to the waiters and waitress and even to management they helped us so much. For people with dogs, you can request a dog-friendly room however you do have to pay £10 per night per dog and you can only have 2 dogs per room. You can also request a pet pack which gives you tips on where to walk your dog and any dog-friendly beaches. I would definitely recommend coming to this hotel.

"Holiday friends"
bettywestrip, 26 Juillet 2018

We meet with friends most years in Bournemouth and, this year decided on Hotel Collingwood. On arrival we discovered it was up a very steep hill and on an extremely busy noisy road, to be fair we were offered a back room but we had chosen our room for the large walk in shower to,suit our needs so we therefore declined, and the room was large and airy but very hot we needed 2 fans to help keep cool and no air conditioning in this room at the front of hotel. The room was clean even though rather dated. The staff were friendly and obliging but cooked breakfast was fine but continental disappointing advertised as pastries but only crossoints available and very limited fruit on show so had to ask for more variety. Dinner was very hot but rather bland and not a huge choice. The owners are fairly new and trying hard to,achieve a good hotel. On leaving we were asked if,everything was ok I mentioned, the matress was lumpy, and, immediately a,fresh one was sent up to the room for the new guests. Would I stay here again unfortunately not due to the busy noisy area and the difficulty walking to the beach for the likes of us less mobile people.

"Disapointing"
sam f, 26 Juillet 2018

Please look at photos before paying out £160 A Night for a room . A Very disappointing stay (We had a lot of issue whilst staying at the hotel) from booking in , to leaving . A couple were rectified, Adam arranged for an afternoon Tea to compensate for the mix up over check in and not meeting our requirements. And also allowed us to park in the car park the next day. Thanks you Adam for that. However I am still awaiting a phone call from a Manager (which I was informed they would call me (as off) as fell off a damaged chair and was told by some kind of manager on Sunday morning, they do not have certain authority (authority for what I don't know) - But they would get someone in a higher position to call? Still waiting on that call! I would like to mention some off the staff were very nice and kind. Breakfast was also disappointing - Not much on offer and waited a long time to be served. No fans in my Mothers room (we asked before arrival) They did however bring one up when mentioned. The rooms however are not up to standard . Unfortunately I do not think i will return to this hotel and my Birthday was a little spoilt by the whole experience.

"A pleasant stay in Bournemouth"
luly857, 22 Juillet 2018

The Staff were friendly. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The swimming pool was a nice treat but could have been bigger & looks a little tired. Jacuzzi was ok. There was a steam room & a sauna. Our room was a family room with a walk in shower which was very good. However the room was on the ground floor but we had to walk up 4 stairs & then in the room there was another step into the room. The toilet was separate to the shower & sink. The sink was old with old taps. There wasn't a safe in the room which was disappointing & there was no air conditioning. The double bed was a small double with a single in the room. There was plenty of storage & hangers. There was a kettle with tea & coffee. Our first night there was a lot of noise from guests above us. We looked out onto the car park. There are no sea views from this hotel. The hotel is situated @ the top of a steep hill but only a 5 minute walk to the beach or the centre.

"Heatwave ! "
maryrd1970, 22 Juillet 2018

Great to be back at my favourite spot in Bournemouth. The beach is beautiful and the water is so warm at the moment. The staff are friendly and we really enjoyed the cocktails, the gin cocktails are great. We ate in the bar one evening as its dog friendly and I had a burger which was great ! Looking forward to my next trip to this lovely seaside town.

"Family fun"
User, 21 Juillet 2018

We enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay at the Hotel Collingwood. The best thing is the staff, nothing is too much trouble. The kids loved all the attention and were made to feel at home. Also, the swimming pool is great to cool down in this hot weather. Breakfast was excellent with nice pancakes for the kids. We also had dinner one evening which was excellent again the lovely staff made it fun and relaxing. We had a family suite which was great for the kids and adults. Happy to recommend for a family stay.

"Fantastic All round"
Eric G, 20 Juillet 2018

Absolutely first class staff, incredibly accommodating. Breakfast was cooked to order, lovely and great options. Our room was airy and clean. The location is excellent, a short walk to the beach and town centre. Plenty of parking which is a real bonus in the centre of town. We have been before and will come again, happy to recommend.

"Birthday treat"
Sophie T, 18 Juillet 2018

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and took Me here last weekend, when arriving in the hotel we were welcomed by such friendly staff! We stayed here for 3 nights. It was a brilliant location for us as we walked into the town and on to the sea front every day :-) the staff were so kind and friendly and would definitely do anything to help us. It was lush as we didn't have to pay for parking. Nor did we have to drive anywhere due to the perfect location. As mentioned before on some of the reviews the room was very very warm. But I suppose what do we expect this time of year when it's schorching outside anyway. We always went to bed with the fan on which helped a little :-) Our room was always kept so clean and always stocked up on coffee, milk, sugar etc which was very handy :-) We only had breakfast on of the mornings and I wasn't overly fussed on mine as I decided to have American pancakes which I had never tried before. But my partner had a fry up which looked lush! I would definitely like to return to this hotel, as I love Bournemouth. There was a singer on the Friday night which was brilliant. The guests seemed to have liked him! Thank you Hotel Colingwood for a brilliant stay :-)

"Fabulous Hotel in every way. 100% recommend!"
louisakathynxox, 11 Juillet 2018

Excellent hotel, we have stayed here four times in the last year and already have two stays booked before the end of the year. Customer service is 100% from all the team: the receptionsts, bar and restaurant staff, as well as the manager and owners. Nothing is too much trouble from any of them. Rooms are spacious, light, and contain everything you would want in a hotel room. Location is very close to the beach and town centre which includes a wide range of shops, well within walking distance, and within a 30 min drive of other beaches and places to visit. The two things I like best is the lovely staff and the evenings entertainment

"Ideal for short stay"
barryrog, 10 Juillet 2018

Very convenient position for shops and sea front, quite a climb up the hill though. Room only OK as no air con and bathroom was tiny. Friends had much better room so ask for larger room as it is worth paying the extra. However it was clean. Public areas nicely decorated. Staff helpful and very polite. Breakfast was OK but did have to mention that the fruit bowl needed some variety as just prunes and grapefruit (no berries, apple, pears etc even though summer time!) and that many guests would be unable to enjoy the grapefruit if on certain medicines. Great to have on site parking.

"Vastly overpriced"
ClaireLouise603, 10 Juillet 2018

My daughter and I stayed at the Collingwood while visiting Bournemouth University. I thought it was fairly expensive at the time of booking but it was a rare treat so decided to splash out. It was extremely disappointing. Our room was on the third floor with a view over buildings and the car park. It was like an oven inside and sun was streaming in the window which couldn't open very far. The fan did nothing to cool us down. The décor is dated and there were chips on the loo seat. Also, we couldn't drain water from the bath as the plug got stuck. I thought breakfast would make up for it but again, very disappointing. Nothing seemed fresh and the packets of cereal were all sweet and geared towards children. I ordered porridge with banana and was told there were no bananas. The porridge was inedible - it was more like ready brek and gloopy and grey. My daughter ordered pancakes which were also out of a packet. I have never complained about anything before on Trip Advisor but I just feel that people should be prepared to be underwhelmed when spending the sort of money the Collingwood are charging.

"It was ok"
Chachamum, 09 Juillet 2018

We stayed for two nights at hotel Collingwood and I must say we were very underwhelmed. We arrived and it was really hot. There is no air con despite the premium price! We asked for a fan and got a small desk fan but due to the location of the plug sockets made not much difference to the room temperature, we went out and bought an additional fan. We got seated at breakfast and waited 25 mins until someone took our order. There was no orange or apple juice left and took a long time to get some. The full English was a bit rubbish and really not worth the wait however the pancakes were lovely. The staff are really polite and friendly but not in a rush to serve at the bar or restaurant. The evening entertainment was suited to an older audience with Cabaret from the 60s and 70s. Our room was on the small side and the shower was so clogged up with lime scale we got a trickle of water which wasn't ideal after sweating away in the non air conditioned rooms. We wouldn't stay here again but the location is great for the town centre if you don't mind climbing a steep hill.

"Value for money "
Jinxsy27, 07 Juillet 2018

Good clean hotel, similar to what you will find in the area. Great parking and the swimming pool was beneficial. Outside seating area looked good as well as the bar. Found the WiFi poor however, kept dropping out and was slow even though the signal varied between average and strong. I was using an app which generally doesn't require a high speed connection.

"Hot Hot Hot"
Valerie N, 03 Juillet 2018

This was our 7th visit to this hotel and the first time since it changed to Best Western. Once again we could not fault the staff or the cleanliness of the place. However there is a plus and a minus. The plus is the fact that dogs are now allowed in the lounge, bar and terrace area. The minus is the lack of evening entertainment. There was always live music every night to listen or dance to. This time it was on only one night during our stay. After being out all day in the heat, it is nice to sit in cool lounge and be entertained.I was told at the time of booking that entertainment would be provided when the hotel was full. I was told that it was full, so I don't understand why we didn't have any.

"Just become my favourite Best Western in Bournemouth"
Rob E, 02 Juillet 2018

Only just become part of the BW franchise and as I stay in Bournemouth regularly I thought I'd give it a try and was very pleased I did. Staff were really friendly, food excellent and the room I had was massive and came with a sea view. I appreciate I probably had an upgrade but it worked, I'll be staying here again! This hotel is now the first I check when I book for Bournemouth.

"Great Hotel."
Phil j, 02 Juillet 2018

Stayed at the Collingwood for one night in June 2018. A wonderful hotel in a brilliant location in the town. Check in was fine . When we got to the room there was an air cooler as the weather was rather warm. All of the staff in the hotel were very professional and always very helpful when we needed information. Our only gripe is the price for the breakfast as we didn't book B&B when we booked, we paid 12.50 as opposed to 8.50 if we had booked breakfast when we booked the room. All that said i would not hesitate to book this hotel again and i would definitely recommend to friends and colleagues.

"Ok for a brief stayover"
dolphinboy1, 01 Juillet 2018

Myself and a friend stayed overnight in June, check in was fine as was the room, there was an air machine put in the room as it was hot. on checkin we asked the price of breakfast should we require it, we were told £10 each. The area is ok, although there appear to be a few DSSS hotels around and a student hostel. its a steep walk back from the beach. The night we were there there was a summer party organised, obviously the guests were not invited (well we certainly were not) and this made us feel awkward as all these people dressed up were arriving, so we ate out. The next morning we decided to have breakfast and were told it was £12.50 had it gone up overnight? i asked? I payed it and noticed that even on the board outside the hotel it said £10 so i asked for the difference to be refunded, which after a bit of arguing received overall, its a decent hotel and fine for an overnight stay..

"Sunny Bournemouth ??"
Orna S, 01 Juillet 2018

We stayed at the Collingwood in February and had a great time! We decided to come back with our kids for the weekend to make the most of the glorious weather! The Hotel has undergone further refurbishments since our last visit and looks very classy! We had a lovely family room which was spotless with a large tv and comfortable beds. The kids loved the pool and games room and the adults enjoyed the bar and the delicious 'Gin Collingwood'. Meals in the restaurant are great, staff cannot do enough for you. Bournemouth beach is beautiful in the sunshine, can't wait to return!

"Hot for the wrong reasons"
Cov66, 18 Juin 2018

The hotel was good, check in easy and straightforward. The rom was on the ground floor overlooking the front so you could expect noise. Room appeared clean on first view but the shower head could do with a good scrub, talking of which I was scaled by the shower has the hot and cold dial delivered the opposite of what they said - move the dial to cold and your hand was scalded!! Having reported this receptioned advised they knew - wish they had told us (room 101). Breakfast was fine but no yogurt, full English arrived with a” mind the plate is hot” the plate was nuclear hot, I could have cooked my breakfast on it !! It managed to overlook my egg and made the mushrooms too hot to eat without a lot of childlike blowing...

"Very pleasant stay"
Karen L, 18 Juin 2018

Stayed here with my partner for a short weekend break and was very pleased with the hotel and service. Staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Rooms clean and well equiped. Added bonus of being able to use the swimming pool and sauna included in the price of the hotel. Very convenient location .. only a short walk into the town centre and to the beach front. Breakfast was varied and very nice indeed. Would return.

"Just a weekend reunion"
Michael P, 18 Juin 2018

Staff very nice and obliging staff in all departments, only disadvantage was that the staff kept happy hour very secretive The entertainment was very good the Sunday night very good.Car parking was excellent plenty of room and seemed to be very safe,

"Excellent weekend visit!"
JGx1978, 18 Juin 2018

We stayed at the Hotel Collingwood over a glorious sunny weekend. We chose the hotel based on reviews and the facilities. The hotel has had some recent renovation work which has been beautifully done. It is stylish and friendly, staff are very helpful and relaxed yet efficient, nothing is a problem. Our 5 year old son loved the swimming pool and games room. Dinner and breakfast were good value and excellent. Our room had a 40' tv, which kept our lad occupied. There is also a large free car park. Bournemouth is a great place to visit with a lovely beach, especially when the sun is shining. We have no hesitation in recommending the Collingwood.

"Great Hotel for a Happy Stay"
heidilaporte, 18 Juin 2018

The hotel is very clean and welcoming. The staff were all very helpful especially the house keeping staff who were amazing and dedicated. The hotel has a great swimming pool and spa facilities, which were very relaxing. Breakfast was great and was served to your table which was a very nice touch. The hotel room was airy and from our room, 314, we could even see the sea.!!

"3rd to 8th June Room 204"
suewilso2, 13 Juin 2018

We have been visiting Collingwood for nine years. Sometimes three times a year and this time enjoyed five days of summer weather but were left a little bit disappointed with the accommodation. We had room 204 a family suite with two rooms which was fabulous for the two of us but the shabby bathroom let it down badly. You couldn't have a bath as the cold tap was just a trickle and the hot was exceptionally hot which isn't normally a fault. A tatty shower curtain , paint falling off the ceiling and in some parts badly discoloured grouting. Taps on both sink and bath badly need replacing. Having said this the dining room staff as always were exceptional. Especially being under pressure from the bridge club. The dinner menu has lost its 5* appeal. The lovely Collingwood salads have disappeared along with a course at the beginning of the meal but the standard of food is good. Breakfast is first class. Checking in Sunday was hard work and on departure it is the first time in 9 years that nobody asked us if we had enjoyed our stay (Martine was not on duty). All in all a quiet thank you for settling our bill. The outside of the hotel and the decor in the reception lounge look great but possibly rooms should have had more priority. However we enjoyed our stay and will revisit "Come back Philliip all is forgiven".

"Wonderful Hotel!"
fairview2016, 08 Juin 2018

Stayed for seven nights and we must say that the staff were fantastic. So friendly and professional in every way. Thank you especially to lovely and wonderful Evita and to the lovely Polish girl at breakfast (apologies, for not recalling your name. Enjoy your time with your Mum when she comes over). These two girls really stood out and fulfilled our stay with gratitude and pleasure. Breakfast was always hot and tasty, never disappointed. However, unfortunately lunch and dinner not so good. We are marking the hotel down a star (want to mark it down two infact but then the score would come out as only ‘average' so that would come over unfair because the hotel we feel is better than just ‘average'). The reason for not being entirely happy with our stay was for two reasons. This being mainly because our room was very, very, very hot to say the least. Hotel supplied us with two tower fans which didn't make enough notable difference to our comfort. We would open the three bay windows in desperation for cool air but only to be confronted with the very busy loud traffic noise outside. (The hotel is on a busy road right on top of a steep hill so you constantly hear the vehicles accelerating as they come up the hill). There is no air-conditioning in the hotel so boy oh boy do you suffer the heat of the room because of it. We didn't sleep through the entire night once in seven nights due to the heat and traffic noise. Therefore, ask for a room at the back of the hotel that is not South facing and less noise. Secondly, we were disappointed with our cleaner if our room as the towels were not changed often enough during our stay and moreso, not once during the seven night stay was the one bed ever made properly. That's all she ever did was pull the duvet up, not even plump up the feather pillows or straighten out the undersheet. I myself, slept on top of the duvet on my bed (because of the sheer heat in room), not once pulling the duvet back to get into the bed but yet again the feather pillows were always left how I had slept. Would we return to the Collingwood.....yes......but only when the hotel has air conditioning installed, which we have been informed that this will be carried out during a forthcoming refurbishment programme.

"28th May to 3rd June Room 115"
krithtibbs60, 08 Juin 2018

Just back from another stay at the Collingwood. The hotel remains excellent, with some nice new touches in the lounge. Everyone from the reception through to the restaurant and the housekeepers cannot do enough for you. The facilities include a full size snooker table, table tennis, bar football and a pool table. Lovely swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The food was extremely good, with a good variety. There is also free parking guaranteed, which is a definite bonus.

"One week stay 28 May-4June 2018"
Cathy P, 07 Juin 2018

Recently returned from a stay at The Collingwood, for a 3 star hotel it is expensive but was very satisfied with customer service, especially Evita from Latvia and the small man in reception who was always welcoming and courteous, also the night porter who I frightened to death when I came down at 3am every night for a smoke, thanks to him especially too. The price of breakfast was listed on the website as £20 for two people but they tried to charge £25, saying they had put their prices up last week, when I questioned this they did only charge the £20, but considered it very expensive, especially as there was a pub 1 minute away that served a very nice breakfast for £6 each. In fact the price of everything was expensive, we went to the pub for all our meals after the first day. I had Sunday lunch and the menu was limited. The lift broke down and I am disabled, we were on the third floor so I couldn't go up and down, they said they had a 24 hour call out to the repair company , but they didn't come until 5pm and then it wasn't fixed until next day. They couldn't give me a ground floor room as they were fully booked. The hotel was in a good location for the beach but everywhere is steep hills so if you can't walk up them it's a case of having to take taxis. The best thing about this hotel was the customer service and the fabulous swimming pool.

"Prime hotel for all the family"
Bobham1945, 05 Juin 2018

I have very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend to anyone. Visiting the local town of Bournemouth with a place to rest, eat and drink at the end of the day was great for me and my family. My kids loved the pool!

"Overpriced for what it is"
ehngo, 03 Juin 2018

I have to say I was disappointed for our stay when considering the price we paid for the room. The hotel is in great location but that's about it. The room was really small, the carpet full of hairs and dust, the double bed was really small (maybe 140 cm wide), there was literally no water pressure in the shower and there was something wrong with the water mixer as water was always too hot or too cold, the soundproofing is nonexistent. I usually stay in hostels and I think this hotel correspond the same level as hostels in general. I would have been happy with my stay if I would have paid less but for the price I paid I would have expected much more. The staff in hotel was neutral.

"Like a dear old nan: old fashioned but loveable"
Milton_Burle, 29 Mai 2018

The hotel is in a prime location a short walk from the beach, minigolf, a tonne of restaurants, a helter-skelter and the Oceanarium. There's ample, free parking for guests (a big plus given rival hotels we looked at). The staff are friendly and efficient, the breakfast was just great and they serve local beers at the bar. On the downside the room is due a bit of renovation and was very hot overnight (no air con). There was only one small lift which was awkward for us with a pram, particularly when the cleaning staff are using it in the morning. But overall we had a great time. There was even a bit of musical entertainment on two of the nights which we really enjoyed. It's a thumbs up from Burle. DO. IT.

"Avarage"
renatele7, 28 Mai 2018

Very good location! Good and friendly staff. Bedeoom was small but clean and did look Ok. Big problem that Its very hot to sleep , winndow very small and opens just A bit. We were lucky to have Amazing weather at bournemouth but to sleep was nightmare. Bed was small and i would say broken. Were was no water pressure in the shower so it was a problem too. If this hotel would be cheaper I wouldn't mind to stay few days. Price should go dawn or some improvement done!!! Just remember one more fink: you can here everything what's happening in the corridor or next room. I was surprised that cleaners were hoovering corridors at 9 in the morning on Sunday morning.

"Superb afternoon tea in a stunning hotel!"
Rosie B, 25 Mai 2018

Hotel Collingwood is an absolute gem of a hotel in central Bournemouth. I recently booked afternoon tea for four of us to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. The staff were fantastic and very attentive throughout. They made us feel welcome and made a fuss of my grandmother as it was her birthday which was really lovely! The lounge area has been recently decorated and was beautiful and very comfortable. The afternoon tea was delicious – my grandmother particularly loved the scones and there was not a crumb left when we had finished. I will certainly be returning and would highly recommend a visit!

"Holiday"
Prudence1941, 23 Mai 2018

This is are third time at the Collingwood and it won't be our last. Always made very welcome, food very good. Excellent position bus stop just outside the hotel. every time we have been there is always something new whether it be deco etc, always upgrading. Beautiful dining room, everywhere very clean, not forgetting the staff very friendly indeed. See you again. Thanks.

"Amazing hotel"
Lorraine G, 22 Mai 2018

We stayed for one night as it was close to the Pavilion Theatre as the price with breakfast was very good. Very clean and comfortable large room. All staff were very friendly. Lovely hot breakfast. Would highly recommend.

"Good Hotel near the center of Bournemouth"
Al1708, 22 Mai 2018

Nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities. Very good breakfasts, with a good variety of food on offer. We only stayed on a bed and breakfast deal, but there are other options available. We had bar snacks a couple of nights, which we enjoyed, but you could eat in the restaurant if you wished. Indoor pool was on the small side, but as I was the only one using it at the time, it was ideal. There was also a Jacuzzi by the swimming pool. Our room was hot, and we had to ask reception for a fan, which they provided, which made the room more bearable a night. Our windows opened on to the road side of the hotel and the road is reasonably busy, so a reasonable amount of road noise could be heard, but hey we managed to sleep through it with the windows open, but light sleepers would probably have more difficulties if they had the windows open. Speaking to other guests it seems that there are certain rooms which seem to be hotter than others, but it seems more luck of the draw whether you get a hot one or not. Also my partner is disabled, and the hotel allowed us to recharge her mobility scooted in reception each night. We booked direct with the hotel as we needed a disabled room with a shower, as my partner cannot cope with a bath, but the staff were very helpful and made sure that we got the facilities we required.

Discodiva23, 20 Mai 2018

Fantastic recent trip to Hotel Collingwood. Excellent staff, brilliant facilities and really family friendly. Also really loved the afternoon tea, a real treat for us all. Great location with the beach and town centre nearby. Highly recommended.

"Would deffo stay again........"
jools3256, 18 Mai 2018

Only stayed one night and didn't eat here but staff helpful and efficient, allocated a lovely big family room with a just about view of the sea. Comfortable bed and great facilities. Room a little hot (no air con that we could find) despite cool temperature outside but a minor niggle. Loved the dance floor bar and games room, and the small swimming pool looked clean and inviting too. As other reviewers have observed, mature clientel generally but it made for a peaceful, restorative visit to lovely Bournemouth.

"Excellent stay"
5_Amy_5, 10 Mai 2018

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Hotel Collingwood for 1 night on Sunday 6th May, bed and breakfast. We chose this hotel as it is dog friendly, very close to the beach and with parking included. The hotel was fantastic. The room was a good size and we were on the ground floor, which was perfect as we had our dog with us. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not the restaurant. Breakfast was very good and service was quick. All the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly. It is a short walk (3 minutes) down the hill to the beach. We had to walk along a little way to get to the dog friendly part, as restrictions are in place over the summer. However, it is a lovely walk along the front. This restaurant is in a fantastic location, right by the beach and also an easy walk to shops and restaurants. It was a very good price for bed and breakfast. I would highly recommend it and we will certainly be staying there again.

"Great Hotel!"
joso0067, 09 Mai 2018

My wife and I had a great stay at Hotel Collingwood! The reception and lounge have been renovated and look very stylish. A great place to relax. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they offered good suggestions for places to visit. Our room was recently decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and we had an evening meal on one night which was excellent. Another big plus was the large car park and the wifi signal is very good.

"2 stars"
Rebecca B, 09 Mai 2018

Reading the reviews and looking at the pictures this hotel apparently fits the bill. Decoration is nice and staff are friendly but the room (212) we got was an absolute hell, literally. Got in there only to find that the bathroom heater was fully on (bearing in mind outside was like 28 degrees). There was no way to turn it off either. We tried closing the door and turning on the ceiling fan, which was old, rusty and very noisy! Didn't do much to cool the room and opening the window wouldn't help either as it couldn't open that much. Rang reception to ask them about the heater and they said the main heating had been turned off and that it should cool off soon... which didn't happen so we ended up not getting much sleep as it felt like a sauna. Next morning a gentleman came up asking about the heater but at that point there was no point in fixing it as we were leaving that day. So my 2 stars are only reflecting the location of the hotel which is very convenient and the kind staff that helped us get a wasp out of the room the night we were there. Also bathroom fixtures are in desperate need of TLC as everything was falling apart, the shower head, toilet roll stand... and of course the heater without the valves to control the temperature. If you do stay and they give you room 212 ask them to swap it for another one! (Unless you love saunas!)

"Enjoyable Stay"
tinacrow65, 07 Mai 2018

We stayed over bank holiday and although the hotel was very busy we still managed to park okay. The room was fine and very clean as was the bathroom. The shower really let's the room down in a big way. Firstly, there was no power whatsoever and the water is extremely hot any time of day and is very hard to control. The hotel in general is nicely decorated and clean. We stayed at the top of the hotel Room 301, and yes we could hear the odd door closing and a little noise, but this certainly wasn't bad enough to disturb us. The only thing we were disappointed in was the breakfast. We arrived in the middle of service and the continental self service area was very disappointing. No selection of pastries, only plain yoghurts available and apart from fresh fruit there were only prunes available. Whilst we ate, none of this area was replenished which was a shame. Overall though we had a good stay and would come back. Thank you

"Weekend break"

Lovely comfortable Hotel with very helpful & friendly staff.Breakfast & Dinner was delicious with every need catered for.We loved the pool & found it very relaxing & quiet.Wouldhighly recommend if you are staying in Bouremouth.

"Shower"
christopherbecket, 20 Avril 2018

Bathroom not very good. Shower poor with curtain not adequate for the purpose.Taps need an over-haul. Water temperature exceedingly hot. Staff all very helpful & cheerful with nothing too much trouble to ensure our visit was enjoyable.

"A couple of days"
Colbow, 12 Avril 2018

First visit to the hotel on a business trip, all very clean and presentable, perhaps missing the odd attention to detail as lost in translation but I would certainly recommend, car parking is very easy with loads of spaces although I guess may be full high season

"Unpretentious value for money Hotel"
AlfredB695, 08 Avril 2018

We have just returned from a 4 day break at this hotel and can compliment the management and staff for an excellent experience. The décor appears to be going through an upgrade and is very clean and pleasant. Our room 122 was good although the bathroom was tired the remaining décor and equipment were fine. We found the food served to be very good freshly cooked, hot and tasty. We asked if chef could provide a meal of Dover Sole one evening and although a small additional cost the fish for both of us was excellent. Many thanks chef. The staff are from various parts of Europe but all were very friendly and tried hard to please. 2 of the evenings had in house entertainmentwhich we enjoyed. All in all a lovely experience and we wish all at the hotel a successful summer and future.

"A short stay"
tessaca2000, 05 Avril 2018

This hotel was better than expected, the room was well appointed. It was sadly noisy in the bedroom as traffic rumbled past all night and the double glazing did not help much.Staff were friendly and nothing too much trouble. Food was great. Decor beautiful. Entertainment on several nights was good. The hotel was in easy walking distance of the town and BIC

"Easter Break"
JWopEssex, 03 Avril 2018

Myself and my husband visited here over Easter. On arrival, friendly welcome at reception and directed to our room. Although there was just the two of us we had booked a family room which was lovely and large with a good sea view. Room lovely and clean and nice fresh towels, however, no shampoo or shower gel as stated, although this was soon rectified when we notified the reception. We found the mattress quite hard and also the pillows although we did find some soft ones in the wardobe. Breakfast was delicious and well organised with specific tables for each room which seemed to work well. Nice gym, quite small but perfectly adequate for our needs. We were looking forward to a nice refreshing swim afterwards, however, on entering the pool we noticed right the way around the water line it was quite grimy which im guessing was a build up of oils etc and looked like it could do with a good scrub and also the flooring around the pool, so we got straight out. The sauna was lovely and hot and the steam room was good too, so just a little disappointed with the upkeep of the pool. On the Friday there was a singer, who was very good and sadly the Saturday entertainment we couldn't watch as the room was too full of people that weren't even staying in the hotel! All in all a good stay although the majority of guests were of the 'older generation' which wasn't so much of a problem, but I think the hotel was geared around that age.

"Friendly and professional!"
jamesg0ld, 02 Avril 2018

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Collingwood during the Easter weekend, I must say we couldn't fault it! The staff were helpful from check in onwards, Service in the bar and restaurant was great. We particularly enjoyed the extensive freshly cooked breakfast, we also had dinner on one of our nights which was excellent. I would happily recommend this hotel and will be glad to return.

"You get what you pay for"
smitchyb0y, 31 Mars 2018

Stayed for a couple of nights during midweek, room was very small and beds very hard, staff were good and breakfast was also very nice. Overhaul the hotel seems to caterer for the blue rinse brigade and they do it very well but not the best place I have stayed and would not visit again.

"Fabulous reunion. Joan & Carl"
carlconnell, 31 Mars 2018

Return visits to this lovely, welcoming, and recently, tastefully refurbished hotel becomes that much more exciting. On booking in with welcoming staff, our room allocated, we accompany our transported luggage to our superb twin bedded room. Beautiful, clean, crisp white cotton sheets beds look so inviting, after a five hour car journey. But the highlight of our stay came at dinner, and at every visit to the dining room. The meals were extremely comprehensive, various starters, main courses and puddings, all hot or cold choices on every course. Great. All served by such helpful, courteous and friendly waiters and waitresses. our thanks to you all. We SHALL return in the near future, you bet.

"Lovely midweek break"
Shezmeister, 29 Mars 2018

Room basic but functional. Staff all very friendly and professional. Breakfast good - served with a smile. Swimming pool to ourselves. Mostly older clientele but we took our 2 year old granddaughter and everyone welcomed her with open arms. Very good value for money.

"Fabulous!"
Eric G, 27 Mars 2018

My wife and I returned to the Hotel Collingwood having stayed with our kids last summer. Whether visiting as a family or a couple this hotel is a great choice. The reception and lounge have been refurbished since our last visit and offer a welcoming friendly environment. There was also very good entertainment in the evening. The menu has been updated and the breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Another bonus is the large free car park which in a town centre location is very unusual. We are looking forward to another visit hopefully in this summer.

"2 day break"
Sharon H, 27 Mars 2018

On arrival was ignored by three members of staff finally seen and was given room key .was told '3rd floor lift that way ' room was boiling hot. fan didn't work. Wardrobe door wouldn't slide open properly. But there was tea making facilities. Told staff about heating and that was sorted. Room had a sea view but traffic noise bad all night. Left a day early staff didn't even ask why. just took key and said good bye. Hotel more suited to older people. pool tiny. dance floor tiny. room very compact. Looks nice but minor faults.

"Mothers Day Lunch"
sjmay2018, 23 Mars 2018

A lovely venue for a special family lunch. The hotel looks to be newly decorated and special attention has been paid to the furnishings. The three course meal was impressive and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again soon

"very frendly hotel"

"Frightened to share this secret in case the hotel is full next time!"
Sarah W, 21 Mars 2018

My husband & I stayed for one night - we were very impressed. The hotel was comfortable, spotlessly clean and good value for money. The breakfast was delicious & good quality. We enjoyed a lovely swim & sauna. Towels were good quality & generously sized. We were delighted too that dogs are accepted. We have no hesitation in recommending the Collingwood. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

"Very good hotel !"

We very much enjoyed our three night stay here. Everywhere very clean and newly refurbished. Great central location with free car parking. Rooms very comfortable. Overall very good indeed and highly recommended..

"Snowy Bournemouth "
Dohertyf, 20 Mars 2018

Stayed at this hotel because I went to see Micheal McIntyre at BIC which is 5mins walk from the hotel. We had some drinks in the lounge before going which looks lovely. Bournemouth beach was covered in snow and we had a lovely lunch no walk after breakfast. We are planning At trip in the summer !

"Poor expereince"
MinkyP58, 20 Mars 2018

My experience here was pretty poor from start to end. - We ordered food at the bar. We asked for food menus and got drinks menus. We again asked for food menus and the bar staff looked on at us in confusion until we picked up the menus ourselves. Our food (sandwiches and burgers) took almost an hour to get to us and when it did it was wrong! - Through the night there was a loud drilling sound that makes sleeping difficult. - The bins in the room had not been emptied from the previous guest's stay. -The bed linen had small unattractive brown marks on the duvet cover. - I had to wait about 5 minutes for any hot water when showering in the morning. I took so long I started having a cold shower until I realised the water becoming warmer. The water was a small trickle. - I ordered breakfast and again the food I received was not what I ordered. - the cherry on the top was being made to pay for a room that we had already paid for. I am now in the process of trying to claim this money back however the hotel is making this process difficult. I have sent them both copies of payment proof. They however do not accept their own printed receipts or credit card receipts as proof. They require me to send them my bank statement as well! Although the staff are friendly, there is a clear lack of leadership and training which leads to an ineffective service and poor customer service. If you choose to stay here, expect long waits and confused staff. Bring ear plugs and maybe extra money in case reception insist on you paying twice!

"Great value for money"

Just returned after staying at the Collingwood hotel for the first time, what a superb hotel rooms clean and tidy food was excellent and the staff were brilliant, will definitely be going back again, bonus for us was It was dog friendly.

"A Lovely Stay"
Orna S, 02 Mars 2018

We stayed at the Collingwood for 3 nights in late February, unfortunately we decided to leave 1 night early because of the bad weather. We didn't want to risk driving in snow which was just as well as it turned out. Staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment which so far looks fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and we also had dinner on one night which we could not fault. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre and the shops it also has plenty of car parking space which is included when you book direct. We will definitely be back to enjoy the Collingwood and the beautiful beach across the road.

"Shame"
Jo R, 01 Mars 2018

This has the potential to be an outstanding hotel. It is tastefully decorated and the lounge area is beautiful. The staff are friendly and there is excellent entertainment many nights. When we got to our room we were delighted, it was lovely and big with a newly refurbished bathroom. Unfortunately the mattress was horrific, very thin/cheap and very uncomfortable. As I suffer with pelvic problems, we told reception and they replaced the mattress. Unfortunately the one they replaced it with was not much better and in the 3 Nights we were there neither myself or my partner had a good nights sleep. If only the hotel would invest in highly quality mattresses or mattress toppers this would be a 5 star review but as it is currently, we would sadly not return.

"Surprise for a Birthday treat"
Rachel R, 25 Février 2018

I booked the hotel as a surprise for my husbands birthday as a friend had recommended it to me. I booked a superior double (which had a sea view) and the room was very clean and comfortable, only downside would have been nice to have a 2nd internal door within the room, to cut out corridor noise. We only had breakfast at the hotel, which was lovely, very attentive staff and locally sourced produce. We did use the sauna, jacuzzi which were nice. We will definitely return as the hotel was close to the beach and town.

Visited this lovely hotel on a Sunday afternoon last weekend during my first visit to Bournemouth - loved the location which is very near the beach and tried the excellent local cider in the hotel bar on the recommendation of the friendly staff - also noticed that this hotel has had a very smart refurb - I had a look around and also saw the pool and other facilities which were spot on - can't wait for a return trip to amazing Bournemouth and will defo be staying this gem of hotel !!

Great tea yet again. Delicious food with a good choice for vegetarians. The hotel has just undergone a refurb and looks lovely. The staff are helpful. Central location and parking a bonus. Highly recommended.

Visited here with my wife and I must say we both enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The entertainment and food were excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Not to mention the hotel being in a lovely location. One which we be definitely returning to sample in the nicer weather this summer. Top value
