Always get good service here. Manager up for a chat and some good local recommendations. After a big day nice to get a friendly greeting and a chat. Old fashioned service and appreciative of your custom. Generous sized rooms with good facilities and a big comfy bed. Lots of good places to eat close by. Definitely a great option in Ballarat.
An older property that is well maintained with nicely renovated spacious rooms ...loved the bathroom especially the amount of bench space to spread out and it's huge shower. The rooms were beautifully clean and well-appointed with nicely kept public areas. Reception staff were friendly and helpful with directions. The motel is situated in easy driving distance to shops and dining options and quite close to some of the town's major attractions.
Although not central, this motel was ideally situated for Sovereign Hill - which suited us down to the ground. It was immaculately presented, had everything that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and informative and pointed us in the right direction for meals within easy walking distance. Minor niggle - it would be nice to have charging points for our various electronic devices closer to the bed.
This neat little motel is conveniently located directly opposite Sovereign Hill. It's small, but has everything you need nearby including a great pizza / fish and chip place, and the best old school chinese restaurant! Motel staff were friendly, room was warm, reasonably basic, but had everything we needed. Excellent bathrooms!
Pillow and beds very comfy. Great shower and great internet.. And eating places within walking distance.. Great location..Thankyou.
Staff were extremely friendly, and helpful. The room was very nice with an extremely comfortable bed, double sink in the bathroom, and very nice shower facilities. The room and all amenities are modern. The hotel is very convenient to the city centre and other attractions
This is possibly the best property I've stayed at in this category. Friendly staff with a clean, spacious, well equipped, quiet, comfortable, modern room. They've thought of everything. I can't speak highly enough of this place. Located over the hill from Sovereign Hill, it has a service station with a cafe next door for refuelling and a Chinese restaurant next to that. Very convenient.
Absolute value for money & comfort. Excellent facilities for guests with mobility needs. Spacious room and more than adequate supply of tea, coffee etc with chance to restock. Exceptionally clean & well maintained with friendly, welcoming staff and accessible parking. Overall a great overnight experience for a very reasonable cost. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This hotel was very nice and clean and had huge double vanity sinks. The room was large and had a nice small kitchenette area for making coffee and toast in the morning. Modern rooms with nice bedding. Across the street from Sovereign Hill Mine site. Had to drive to get to restaurants as only a few in the immediate area.
Very well located and well maintained facility. Great location to get to city centre as well nearby attractions. Desk staff were very helpful and friendly also. Definitely would stay here again if I am in the area.
Booked a room online and then had a call from the manger asking me to cancel it on Wotif as another person who had "booked at a similar time" wanted a longer stay and therefore my room was no longer available. I needed to cancel it from my end, but was assured I wouldn't be charged!
Great night sleep on such a comfy king bed. Shower was hot and really big fluffy towel. . I am a member of Best Western and always book on line direct with the hotels for the best price and always get a ground floor room
The room was excellent. Very modern, stylish, with modern formal room, office zone, bedroom and bathroom. Stylish lighting and excellent heating all added to the experience. While the parking looks a little dated don't be fooled. They've invested and updated what counts for the visitor…..a happy client :)
Booked because we were going to Aura at Sovereign Hill. Perfect location, an easy walk, but we drove because it was so cold. Had a room upstairs, really impressed there was a tree outside the window to block ugly roof view. The only fault was on that night the TV wasn't working, otherwise, not a single complaint. Big room, incredibly comfortable bed. Good bathroom with a basin each. Would happily stay there again.
We stayed at Best Western Plus for a mini Family getaway for the winter wonder lights in Sovereign Hill. The hotels location made it so we were right across the road which was excellent, the rooms we stayed in were well equipped and very clean. We booked interconnecting rooms which was very handy for our 10 year olds and ensured we had plenty of space.
Immaculately clean and good size room. Comfortable bed and decent size wardrobe with plenty of hangers (which is rare!)...basic toiletries but good quality large towels. The shower is a bit outdated but has good water pressure. Basic kitchen fit out with microwave and small table and chairs as well as a couch. We had an upstairs spa room...the spa looked pretty old but was scrupulously clean. I'm not sure if the man at Reception was the owner or manager, but he was very welcoming and helpful with a number of local recommendations. There are plenty of pub and restaurant options within easy walking distance, and Sovereign Hill is only a short walk away too. There is a 24 hour cafe/convenience place next door, our room was on opposite side of the complex so I couldn't say if that would create noise. All in all, it was a fab weekend escape... didn't even go into the City of Ballarat this trip as everything was near where the hotel was.
excellent accommodation , fantastic manager , will go again, very clean , easy access to snacks , meals, all within walking distance of accommodation, within walking distance of the Sovereign Hill Complex
The suites are ideally placed for a visit to Sovereign Hill a short walk away. Spacious room which was well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful host. We couldn't believe that the facility had been open for 14 years it's so well-maintained.
We recently stayed two nights in a spa suite - location for us was perfect, rooms were clean and well appointed the staff were friendly. On site parking is available- get in early so you can park near your room. If you like a firm pillow take your own, they provide soft only. Breakfast is currently unavailable. Unfortunately the spa - jetted tub main reason we booked that room did not work, very disappointed! We notified management without any results. Our towls had stains on them 1 each night again we notified management and although they were receptive we didn't feel it was important.
Large rooms, the spa bath was a treat! Separate bedroom, large bathroom, separate spacious lounge area, restraunts walking distance. The manager was exceptional! The staff go beyond expectations. Our stay was for 2 nights, would highly recommend.
The room was very clean and modern, and provided everything we needed for an overnight stay while passing through Ballarat. Even though it is located on a busy road we could not hear any traffic noise and it was great to have parking outside our room. The only negative to comment on is the price for such basic accommodation.
at first we found 5 down lights in the main living area had blown, then we found some mouldy old food left in the fridge from a previous tenant. When we informed the person in charge about the lights being out and the food, he did not seem to fussed by it all and said he would get Maintenace on to i, but that never happened.
I stay at a lot of hotels for work, usually Best Western, and this is one of the best. Spotlessly clean with high quality furnishings and great soaps, shampoos etc. The little extras are a nice touch and make for a very comfortable stay. At night, the rooms are dark and quiet - perfect for a good night's sleep. Thanks to the manager Andrew and his team for offering such high quality accommodation in Ballarat.
The general manager, Andrew, is extremely helpful. He shew his professionalism on hospitality. He is very nice and hard working. He always addressed our enquiries promptly. Staying in hotel and chat with him just like chatting with a family member. Highly recommend this hotel and definitely will stay in this hotel next time.
Best Western Plus is another excellent option in Ballarat. I arrived late and my room card was easily accessible from a coded box. The staff were a pleasure to deal with. The room was huge and featured plenty of comfortable seating. The bathroom was modern and had an enormous shower. The cooked breakfast was big, beautifully presented and delicious. The hotel is well located for those visiting Sovereign Hill and the rooms are quiet. I happily recommend Best Western Plus.
Arrived late due to a very long day on the road and was greeted by the Manager who couldn't do enough for me to get me settled for the night, he even opened my door to help me get my baggage inside due to the inclement weather. The room was fantastic and very clean and tidy. I Can't recommend this Hotel enough, the staff were very cheerful and helpful. Unfortunately didn't get to experience the nearby restaurants but it is in a great location. Always enjoy Ballarat and I will be returning to this Hotel
Great room, fast internet speed, there are many restaurants nearby, bathroom was good, bathroom heater and room aircond works well, has laundry service which is very great and friendly manager. Cheers
Staff are only to happy to help with whatever you may need. Rooms are very clean and quiet. Very spacious and has everything in the room that you would need when you are away from home. Close to restaurants and sovereign hill tourist attractions and close to the heart of Ballarat city. 24 hr service station right next door for those late night munchies. Highly recommend the stay at this hotel.
This is by far the BEST experience I have ever had at any motel in the many countries I have visited. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. The room (really a suite) had been renovated with fantastic features and attention to detail, Including slate tiles on the bathroom floor, jetted tub, bathroom heat lamp, bath sheet towels, well appointed kitchenette, smart TV, high speed wifi, Electric blankets on the bed, efficient heating, premium linen on the bed. My only complaint was the traffic noise, which is unavoidable in this location. For the price I paid (through the Best Western website), this motel experience was simply amazing.
Beautiful accomodation. Not far from CBD and opposite Sovereign Hill. Lovely room, clean, modern with a comfy bed and great shower. Easy parking. We had a great meal at the chinese restaurant almost next door. We were in a hurry to get to an event and they fed us very quickly.
We have stayed here several times over the last 10 years. The hotel rooms are always up to date, in good order and very clean. The staff have always been very obliging and accommodating. We feel like we can trust that our experience here will be predictably comfortable, and that's exactly what we look for from a place like this.
The management were extremely friendly, the room (19) was clean and had all the facilities that I would expect, great value for the money, very quiet of a night, centrally locate to most attraction , would recommend it to any of my friends and family who were looking for any were to stay in the area
Fabbi, at reception, was fantastic and very accommodating to my needs. The room was divided into a seperate lounge area reminiscent of home. Free movies available, ones already saved by the hotel. Cleanliness was ok but I'm pedantic and required a higher level. The chairs were stained and couch was dirty for my liking.
Stayed here on a May weekend from Melbourne. Everything here ok, the beds are in need of an upgrade in the near future. Only problem was they had a smoking ashtray not far from our motel door drawing in the filthy cigarette smoke which was seeping into our room. Get rid of the smokers and it would be top notch.
First an foremost, Kylie from reception was lovely to deal with. Nothing a problem and helpful. The room, Jetted Tub | Suite-1 King Bed, was worth the money. Lounge & kitenette separated from bedroom. Extremely comfortable room. Internet was great. The bed, possibly medium feel, was good. Take your own pillows if you like firm ones. Bathroom had separate shower and deep spa bath which was great. Lovely bathroom products. Kitchette was set up well. Location across the road from Sovereign HIll. We will certainly return when next in Ballarat.
The suite is quiet large with a separate room for the bedroom. The lounge area is spacious, however it really needs a side table next to the lounge. We really wanted to love this room ss it had a lot going for it but the beds were incredibly uncomfortable as they were way too soft and sank in the middle. The aircon wasnt working properly so it was very hot, although there was a window but people were smoking outside.... The bathroom was very awkward with the massive deep spa bath which quite frankly is an accident waiting to happen as there is no hand rail to assist getting in or out. Also watch your kids as it is super deep! Also, thinking of climate change...cant see how all that water wastage is helping. For a suite with three family members staying we required three of everything but there were only 2 towels, two cups, two glasses..two of everything...and we paid for the third person so it was pretty annoying. The owner was very nice but i feel that with somw attention to detail this motel could be really amazing.
Lovely, clean room with everything we needed while in town visiting family. The kids loved the deep spa bath! Friendly and helpful staff with great recommendations for where to eat and great that room service is available.
Host's Hayden & Adam were impeccable, staff so friendly. The accommodation facilities are such a High Standard, cleanliness of the spacious suites Outstanding. The bed was so comfortable, dreamy bathroom with the Biggest Spa bath that I've ever encountered, great Big Shower- fantastic Hot Water. This property is a Must- stay at destination when visiting Ballarat. I will definately be back in the future. I recommend this place very highly. Lovely courtyard to relax in. Room Service Menu Available- generous food portions. Well done to all the Team!!!!! See you in the New Year 2022. Kind regards Glyn Lewis.
As a single guy with simple needs, the accommodation and service was spot on. The room and associated facilities were spotless and the friendly staff were efficient and always available to assist with any of my needs. I would be very happy to stay again!
Basic very clean mid range accommodation with nice bedroom and fantastic Japanese bath experience in the room _ Highly recommend the rooms with Japanese bath. _ Something different and very enjoyable for a couple. ( I want one for home ) Staff friendly and accommodating Kitchenette with basic amenities is ideal for a couple of nights. a few minutes from town near Sovereign hill and Red Lion Hotel with everything a short stroll away. Well done to the management - will highly recommend your establishment and will return. ( 13 Nov ) Mr Brown
Couldn't be more happier, staff are amazing and went over and above for our group. Highly recommend, beautiful rooms with comfy bedding and modern decor, the managers also did a buffet breakfast for our group great presentation with wide selection of hot, pastries and fruit. Will definitely be back
Excellent service and very stylish modern rooms. Would highly recommend this hotel compared to others that we have previously stayed at close by for both business and personal. Spacious contemporary rooms that were very quiet. Excellent location to hotels and restaurants
Very enjoyable 2 night stay at the Ballarat Best western Plus. The comfort of the king bed and pillows was above all expectations as was the spa, and having a separate lounge area was great. Will definitely stay again!
Large beds and spacious separate room for relaxing. A small kitchen with all the necessities is provided. Very pleasant manager and other staff. Helpful with suggestions to do and where to eat. A lot of the rooms are up a very long flight of stairs
Love this place , 10/10 close to all the great things Ballarat has to offer, sovereign hill , gold museum . Local dining is also amazing , the staff are always helpful. The room had an amazing plunge spa that was definitely relaxing. The beds are so comfy and always get a good night sleep here.
This is the third time that we have stayed at the motel. My husband is disabled and we needed to book the wheelchair accessible room, as well as additional rooms for the staff who care for my husband. In addition, we needed to organise equipment for my husband. The staff were extremely helpful both during the complex booking process, and during the stay itself. Thank you for a memorable family holiday!
Stayed here for one night while visiting Ballarat. The hotel is conveniently located behind Sovereign Hill and not far from Ballarat city centre, a fuel station is next door and a few restaurants and take away shops within walking distance. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. The room (number 21) was on the ground floor and very clean and spacious with a small kitchenette, modern bathroom with waterfall shower head, reverse cycle air conditioning, large king size bed, an ottoman sofa bed, a two seater sofa and TV with Foxtel access. The room is accessed via a key card and parking is available out the front of the room. Overall a pleasant stay and will stay again if the need ever arises.
Rooms are very large and comfortable, however I did book the stay over 7-8 weeks ago. As a disabled veteran I asked on the booking for a ground floor room- no not available on arrival Not happy about that as I had to climb stairs for access. Surely they could have arranged something in the 7-8 week time frame.
Reception: Extremely friendly and helpful staff Room / facilities: Room number 24 is very spacious and is located on the first floor and is spotlessly clean. It has a king bed (with electric blankets), sofa bed, 2 seater table, kitchen sink, crockery and cutlery, toaster, fridge, safe, large modern bathroom with double vanities, thick and thirsty bath towels, flat screen TV, self control split system air conditioning, luggage stand, iron and board, alarm clock, Cable TV and plenty of free car parking. Best of all, the room has a window that opens fully, to allow air flow and booth block out and sheer blinds. Wifi: Free and fast. A password is located in the room. Conclusion: A very good clean and spacious hotel, where you could easily spend a few days. I'd recommend this hotel. Letdowns: None. Location / Nearby: Petrol station (next door), Sovereign Hill tourist attraction (5 min walk), restaurants are also 5 min walk. Ballarat main street is a 5 minute drive.
The hospitality was good . I have stay here several times and each time has been pleasant they even allow us to have a late checkout. This is very helpful when you have to be at the hospital at a certain time I am then able to come back and checkout while my wife is receiving treatment.
This room was wonderful, peaceful & very comfortable & the wifi easy to connect to. The bathroom was surprisingly large & the rainfall shower was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this for travellers to Ballarat.
Stayed here over NYE with friends. Place was very clean and had a small kitchenette. It had a comfy king size bed. the property is located across the road from Sovereign Hill. Next door is petrol station with a small bakery/coffee. The owners of the property made us feel at home ... and very accommodating. The units had air con ..and very quiet. There are a couple of cafes , a few minutes walk. I highly recommend to stay here if doing a holiday in Ballarat.
I visited Ballarat for two nights and cannot fault this motel. Check in was easy and very nice lady at the desk. I asked for a couple of things and very quick to help. Great location, especially if you're visiting Sovereign Hill. The bed was very comfortable and there was a small kitchenette which also included a microwave. The room was spotless and would highly recommend this motel, very reasonably priced and relaxing place to stay.
The location of this hotel is good as it is nearby Sovereign Hill, the room is cozy and big, with a living room and the toilet has a bath tub. The bed is soft and room is clean, comfortable stay with a good sleep on a soft bed. After dinner our key card is unable to enter the room, we went to the counter and the receptionist immediately assist us to re-programme the card, thumb up for the fast action. Carpark lots available, just that our rooms are located at the 2nd storey and it painful to carry many luggage up the stairs.
Stayed for a night in this place Rooms were good and neat Complimentary teabags looked old and torn inside Poor customer service , unmanned and had to wait for more than 30 mnts to be served for check out
We were really impressed with our room and its presentation. Plenty of room and everything we needed for this visit. Friendly and helpful staff which made us feel good. We would not hesitate to stay again, if we stayed for a few days we would try the one bedroom but it would have to be on the ground floor, if steps are not an issue any room would be a pleasure to stay in. Plenty of secure parking. We though the room looked very modern and loved the bathroom.
One of the most comfortable places we've stayed in. The room/suite was large and clean with all the usual amenities. Parking available on site. A few eating places within walking distance. Highly recommended!
Summary: Coming to Ballarat is easy and always a step back from the hustle and bustle life. Relaxing is easy made when you know that everything falls into place. Especially if it's good accommodation. Somewhere you can relax after a hard day of shopping, eating and wondering whatever the vice. Best Western Plus in Ballarat takes the cake for simple and charming in the same sentence. Affordable rooms for couples and families alike. Cleanliness is what we all look for and this has ticked the box. The King room we stayed in was very roomy, modern decor and en-suite fit for a King and Queen. Points: Lots of room. Modern decor. Clean. Marvellous en-suite. Great service and greetings from staff member. Easy check in and check out. Great price. Close to Sovereign Hill. Approximately 5 minute drive to the CBD. Close to Zagame's Ballarat Hotel Tips: No elevator to the second floor. Fair drive to Stockland Wendouree. Overall: Highly recommended if you want a clean and well priced accommodation. I will stay here again next time I am in Ballarat.
Check in and out was fast.Perfectly positioned for our trip to Sovereign hill(across the road) Only 3 minutes drive to the middle of Town. Large spacious upstairs room.Very quiet.Great bed.Friendly knowledgeable staff.
Didn't know best western had such excellent rooms, when i say excellent i mean excellent for normal people but yeah comfortable bed, clean modern room all that you want in a short stay. Sovereign Hill is just around the corner and up the road is a great ( HOTEL COME CLUB ?) Zargames .
Stayed with my family for holiday. Value for money, very comfortable beds and very clean rooms and bath room. Room service was excellent and location of hotel was perfect near restaurants and walking distance to sovereign hills!
Booked two rooms for a workmate and myself. We were both very impressed with not only the size of the room but also the decor and fittings. Sime restaurants close by and Sovereign Hill across the road. My fellow traveller will stay here when next in Ballarat & has decided to join Best Western rewards.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. It was a breath of fresh air to check-in to this hotel after leaving another hotel that smelt of mould and stale cigarettes. This hotel is clean and rooms are large, well appointed bathrooms with a large shower and two basins. Would definitely stay here again.
We were only in Ballarat for a stop over on our way to Adelaide. Had a great stay. The access room was perfect for someone who is a wheelchair user.Staff all very helpful and made a short stay a comfortable stop.
The room was well proportioned and had a comfortable bed with a nice and airy bathroom. Furnishings were nice and the service was fine. I appreciated the provided iron and ironing board. What wasn't great was the noise leakage thru the adjoining door to the room next door. Also not great was the view into a light well making the room dark all the time. I also had difficulty using the remote for the TV as all the writing had worn off the buttons making it very hit and miss to use. Parking on site is also very tight for medium and above sized vehicles. Dining is within walking distance.
I recently stayed at the Best Western Plan Ballarat Suites on 3 occasions when visiting on business. The rooms appear to be recently renovated. Very comfortable bed and great shower (Important for travellers). Rooms also have a well stocked mini bar. The service provided by the Natalie and Danny was first class! Importantly the motel is located on short walk from Billys Bar and Bistro where you can enjoy a terrific meal. Highly recommended if in Ballarat
Rooms were very spacious, as were the bathrooms. Enjoyed the heater in the bathroom and step in shower. Great WiFi service and fast. Breakfast is in your room, but found the menu confusing and even deceiving the way the continental breakfast was listed. Redesigning it would make a big difference. 5min drive into town or 25mins by foot if you follow the creek path in. A couple of restaurants close by and Sovereign Hill almost opposite. Problem with noise between rooms. Guests above me I could hear walking around, flushing toilet, baby crying, shower etc until 12am one night, only yo start up again at 6am! My colleague stayed in a room which had an adjoining door to room next door, and she said she could hear everything! Noise from road was minimal, between rooms was the big issue. Room was very dark at night, but also during the day as there was a higher fence outside the window. Comfy bed, but hot to lie on. Pillows some of the commies I've had at accommodation.Parking is tight and park where you want (not numbered by room).
The owners of Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites provided exceptional customer service, nothing was a problem and they went out of their way to meet our every need and understand the needs of the disabled person who was also staying with me at BW. Highly recommend this venue.
What a great hotel. Huge room size (Executive King Suite), very well priced for what you get, incredibly comfortable bed, lovely decor, super quiet nights sleep. Perfect for Sovereign Hill visitors....just walk over the road and avoid the crowded car park! Highly recommend Best Western Plus for a Ballarat stay.
Such a perfect location if you are going to Sovereign Hill and want to stay in Ballarat for the night it is just a walk across the road so no parking hassles.. Is such a lovely mote, staff were very friendly, modern inside and beds very comfortable. So clean also, will def stay there again.
Very clean and comfortable. Room size is also good and staff very friendly. The beds are very comfortable and bathrooms clean. Wish it had a bathtub it would have been perfect. It was an enjoyable stay.
I was recommended to book at Quest in Ballarat for my overnight work trip but it was booked out, so I booked at Best Western. So glad I did. What a find! It was great! The room was spotless and huge, the amenities were new and clean, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in and the shower is huge with a showerhead that makes you not want to get out. Will definitely be back!
Stayed for two nights close by Sovereign Hill and the location was perfect. The other ones close by are good, this was better. The room was huge, and the bathroom was equally impressive in size. There is no restaurant attached to the hotel, but the restaurant at the Mercure is couple of hundred metres away on one side and a great Chinese restaurant a hundred metres away on the other. Walking distance to the Gold Museum and Sovereign Hill, a top place all round.
Enjoy the best for value accommodation in ballarat, opposite sovereign hill and close to city. The staff are wonderful and accommodation very modern and spacious. I will only stay at this hotel as I feel safe and comfortable
Great venue , nice people and great service , close to all Tourist venues.Breakfast was great and fresh, Room was very clean and fresh , plenty of parking, nothing too much trouble, the bed was crisp and comfortable, highly recommend this establishment.
I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip and was extremely pleased with the level of comfort and professionalism from this lovely hotel. Staff were very welcoming! I stayed in the King Spa, two-room upstairs suite, large comfortable bed, beautiful amenities, everything clean, modern and new. Most impressive and important for me was they offered RECYCLING in the room! So many hotels do not offer this and it's ridiculous. Good on you Ballarat!! They also offer discounts at many local restaurants. Fridge and microwave present in the room plus a large array of mini bar and snack items. It was a very comfortable spot to land home after busy days and very quiet! I would highly recommend!
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We had the king spa room. Quite spacious and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Spa bath is amazing and deep (only negative is it takes quite a while to fill) Check in and out was very easy and set welcomed :) Would stay here again!
Excellent... friendly staff, fantastic room & everything was thought of. Also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Price was great value for money. Will stay again if we are in the area! Everything catered for!
Pleasantly surprised by the room size and facilities. Very reasonably priced especially when compared to other offerings. Appears to be quite a new establishment. Very clean with everything working as it should. Well designed rooms. Very good location. Staff at reception pleasant and professional. Would stay again.
I have stayed at this property three times. This property is equal to the major hotel chains best value accommodations, such as Hiltion Hampton Inns, Marriott Fairfield, etc. Danny & Natalie Marwood run a first class operation. This is not the usually run of the mill Best Western.
Very comfortable room. Modern, clean, and friendly staff. I only wish it had a breakfast included but otherwise very satisfied. The car park was a bit tight so it tested your driving skills. My room was on the second floor so you need to be able to carry your bags up a flight.
Good rooms and very friendly and helpful reception service. Excellent continental breakfast served in the room pre-booked at time to suit you. A short taxi ride or drive to the centre of town where there are many restaurants and interesting building in colonial style.
We only spent one night here but were most impressed with the accommodation. The room was extremely spacious with a lovely modern bathroom. The room had a small sink, microwave, crockery and cutlery plus a small dining table with two chairs, unlike many hotels where there is only one chair.
We stayed two nights at Ballarat Suites, which is walking distance to Sovereign Hill. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful when I booked by phone, and throughout our stay. The pastries in the continental breakfast were warm, crispy and delicious. The room was spotless and spacious, easily accommodating an extra bed for our daughter. A family member felt unwell during our stay and they generously accommodated our request for a late checkout. Highly recommended.
Stayed for three nights. The walk to sovereign hill is 5 minutes and several restaurants in easy walking distance. Rooms have been recently refurbished and were quiet, clean, well set out and appointed. Bed was comfortable and linen clean. Only item was breakfast not available until 8am on Sunday so if your an early get away plan ahead.
Amazing staff, great location, top class service, and extremely clean. If I had to stay at a hotel in ballarat, this hotel would be my only choice . A-must-stay hotel if you are visiting ballarat ❤️❤️
Honestly this is the best place you will find in Ballarat, they love the people who stay with them place. I like it, it's comfortable and clean place. I promise you will be more than happy to stay there. ❤️❤️ “ Ask them about breakfast deal”
Great private and friendly environment, magnificent suite, clean, large rooms, modern theme, comfortable king bed and also quite a deep spa bath that almost caught me off guard nearly disappearing underwater, lol. A brilliant experience, over all!
We stayed at this motel for the second time. My husband uses a wheelchair for any distance so both times we stayed in the accessible room. He is able to use a walker in the room - his large wheelchair may have had difficulty within the room. The bathroom is large, with a pulldown seat. The room connects with the next door room - perfect for travelling with family or a carer. The rooms are clean and spacious. Having a microwave and sink, plus plates and cutlery is really useful. The location is a short walk to Sovereign Hill - ideal for our needs!
Very large room and well-appointed with a couple of plates and cutlery included. Comfortable sofa, desk and bed. Shower good and bath fantastic. Curtains crossover to make room dark and room ultra quiet. A choice of pillows and extras in ca see e you wanted more. Staff friendly and helpful - I arrived after 10 PM but after hours arrangements were no trouble. There was nothing to complain about and everything to praise, esp. when you consider value for money. A real gem!
Rooms were excellent, service was great and staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff had good knowledge of the area and were very helpful. Breakfast was nice and brought to room with a friendly face.
Recently we visited Ballarat to attend a family wedding. We booked into the Best Western Plus at the last minute due to an accommodation issue. I am so glad that we did. The suite was very high standard, beautifully appointed and brilliantly located. We enjoyed the deep spa bath after a hot day spent at Sovereign Hill. The best thing was the staff! They were so helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable and ensure we had a great stay. This would be top of my list for another trip.
Spacious room, great bathroom, great bed, park car at your door and located across the road from Sovereign Hill (if that's what you are here for). Updated rooms are of a quality that you generally pay much more for. Had Uber eats delivered to my door (lots of food options available in Ballarat). Friendly, helpful staff. Great value.
Ballarat tg is a beautiful part of Victoria and as a sales representative i need a place that i can call home and Ballarat suites is that place. Great rooms, great staff close to the city across from sovereign hill and close to eating places
On the important details -- room cleanliness, overall comfort, space -- this place gets it right. It is a very basic motel, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Parking on premises is a plus. We have a separate living room with small kitchenette and decent-enough sized bedroom with a perhaps too soft mattress (but that's personal taste). It's a drive into town, and to most restaurants except for the one in the Mercour hotel next door.
Awesome staff that went out of their way to help our stay sensational. They have great service, positive and friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities. Highly recommend and hope to be back again next year.
From the moment we checked in with Natalie at the desk, we knew we were in for a treat. The room was spacious and well appointed with something not usual - a lounge with a t.v. with Foxtel. The beds were amazing! so comfortable. There were also two tables with chairs if you needed to eat in the room or do computer work. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I was overwhelmed by the friendly staff and that they had no problem giving me extra tea bags and sugar. There is a great café nearby, and for an evening meal Zagames is a short walk away. Great meals and pokies if you fancy. I will definitely be back. This is a 5 star motel with a 3star budget. Such a reasonable rate for such a brilliant motel!
Great location, clean, modern pleasant serviced apartment style room. Literally across the road from Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum. 2 mins drive to Ballarat CBD. Friendly booking, check-in and check-out. We caused a small problem by blocking the toilet with paper towels from the kitchen, the onsite manager attended immediately and fixed the problem WITH A SMILE. What great service from a family friendly well maintained complex ! This is honestly the BEST "motor inn" style accommodation I've ever stayed in while traveling.
We stayed in this hotel for one night with our 2 and a half year old grandson. We were very impressed with the room amenities and the great friendly service from reception. The hotel is ina great location very close to Sovereign Hill.
This has to be one of the best Motel rooms we have ever stayed in anywhere - and we have travelled the world. We had a King bed and double bathroom with vast shower! The room itself was larger than usual and spotlessly clean. What a shame we were only there for the one night. Hopefully we will find a reason to visit Ballarat and stay longer next time.
We stayed in this hotel overnight following christmas shopping night at sovereign hill. It was close, walking distance to sovereign hill, Group of shops nearby, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, Bed was nice to sleep in, mattress nice and firm. Would stay again.
fantastic service and very friendly staff the rooms are new and very clean i would defienetly recommend it and stay again location is near by shops and restaurant and easy to find also a short drive to city centre
We stayed in a King Suite unfortunately just for the one night as it was one of the best rooms we have ever had. It was on the ground floor and very spacious with a super soft king bed. The bathroom was huge with twin vanities and a large walk in shower with a rain head that gave plenty of hot water. The wifi was fast and reliable. An added bonus was the lighting in the room. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. All in all we we were very impressed and will look to stay here again when we travel to Victoria next.
We had one night at this Motel and our room was great, the Bathroom was modern and we slept well in the comfortable bed. Motel is close to Sovereign Hill and we had no complaints about the room or service.
I have stayed a couple of times over the years. Remains a great place. Comfy bed, nice rooms and quiet. Friendly staff too. Opposite Sovereign Hill, so not in central Ballarat but there are restaurants in walking distance so not a big issue anyway.
I have been using this property for a number of years now and as usual, the amenities are very good and maintained exceptionally well. I would rate it as one of the better properties to stay at in Ballarat.
Have stayed here a few times and always friendly staff with lovely, spacious rooms that are always super clean. Easy access being close to lots of eateries and Sovereign Hill and easy drive to the shops.
I have stayed here many times over the years. Remains a great place. Comfy bed, nice rooms and quiet. Friendly staff too. Opposite Sovereign Hill, so not in central Ballarat but that no big deal for me. There are restaurants in walking distance so not a big issue anyway.
Last minute booking as previous accommodation was cancelled. Positive check in experience & pleasantly surprised with the spacious clean room. Conveniently located to everything we needed.Checked out early as I needed to be in Daylesford by 7:30am, Will look at this property in future.
Luxurious, modern, spacious room, lovely & clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Well stocked mini bar & snacks. Loved the spa. Extremely comfortable bed. Convenient location, cloe to town & across the road from Sovereign Hill. Will be back :)
Found this motel on the internet and booked direct the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is right across from Sovereign Hill and has eating places close by.The rooms were very clean and comfortable.Would definately stay there again.
I had my clothes stolen from the wardrobe and the business owners covered up for the housekeepers. Owners tried to make me feel stupid when I called them and asked for my clothes to be returned and I offered to cover the costs of postage. A very dishonest business.
Absolutely presently surprised very updated bathroom large roomy unit with plenty of room for a couple. Lounge and table and chairs also in unit. Very clean and lovely friendly staff only too willing to help. Definitely stay here and again and would reccomend highly as a place to stay. Short stroll to Sovereign Hill and Gold Museum and 5 minute bus ride to Main Street of Ballarat or easy 15 minute walk.
Right from check-in staff were very friendly, location perfect. Now the rooms were amazing spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Bathroom was huge and spa a bonus. Would definitely stay again when in Ballarat.
From the warm greeting at reception to checkout, this is a “must stay” favourite. Exceptionally clean, spacious and well appointed rooms. Comfortable seating and bedding and great rollout beds. We had two rooms with an adjoining door so enjoyed the luxury of 2 toilets and so, didn't have to wait. 2 basins in each bathroom and a terrific walk-in shower with rain shower head. A bonus was being able to order cappuccinos up until 8.30pm. And our breakfasts arrived hot, fresh and beautifully presented: bacon & eggs, French toast, toasted sandwiches as well as cereals. We enjoyed our delicious choices very much. Our hosts were terrific; nothing was a bother. We will be back next year for sure. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We arrived in Ballarat on the AFL grandfinal long weekend, being from interstate we did not realise so we tried a couple of places only to be told they were full. We went to the Best Western expecting to be told the same but the desk attendant said that he may have only one room left, and it was a little smaller than the rest and it was only for two. We were travelling in a party of three, but he said that a roll away bed could be provided. He offered to show us the room prior to accepting to see if it would be suitable, and as we were only after one night it would be perfect. When we walked in we were greeted with a real modern room, lovely decor and a bathroom with a real modern touch, with double sinks and rain shower. There was even a small sink and microwave and tea/coffee making facilities with fridge tucked away in a cupboard. There is also a safe and ironing board and iron in the room. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet. We really enjoyed our over night stay. No dining facilities but there were a variety of restaurants within walking distance of a few hundred meters. Breakfast there was the option to have room service if you wished, but we wanted a little more variety so just walked up the road to the Mecure Restuarant for a bigger variety. The hosts were accommodating to our needs and that is very much appreciated. We would definatley stay there again if passing that way.
Stayed one night here, whilst away for a work trip. Room was nicely finished, modern and well maintained. Bathroom facilities were huge! Have been impressed with the service, including breakfast to the door, and advise around dinner options, including direct Uber eats delivery. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Thanks for a great stay!
We are a family of 4 and stayed on a basketball tournament weekend. We had a great stay. We were worried that we could only get the King Spa room with a foldout for the kids, but didn't need to! The location is great if you are heading to Sovereign Hill as it is a quick walk across the road. Ballarat is a sizeable rural township, but is quick to traverse (around 8 minutes or so to cross the town by car) so everything was in easy reach for us. The city centre was only a few minutes away. The room is kind of tight for a family with 2 younger kids (7 and 13) but worked well for us on a basketball tournament weekend. We (the parents) are bordering on clean freaks and this room was excellent from a cleanliness point of view. Very happy. The kids slept on the fold-out sofa which was surprisingly comfortable. They both slept soundly and woke with no niggles. The room was really quiet at night and the King bed was comfortable which made it very easy to sleep for the parents too. The kids loved the deep 2 person spa bath with a seat each. The check-in was quick, the check-out was quick and the staff were friendly and happy to help with any queries. My only niggle would be that there was a TV in a small lounge area, but not in the King bed room. That meant that when the kids went off to sleep on the foldout the TV was not available for use. I temper that with the fact it is really an executive suite to sleep 1 or 2 and the foldout is for the edge cases. I do like a TV when in bed in a hotel room though as it is the only time I get one!
Best place to stay in Ballarat, great room, closed to Ballarat features and great hosts,if your staying 1 day or 1 week you will enjoy this place.I have bern staying at this hotel for 12 months and i wont go anywhere else
Very nice rooms, very large and modern. Bathroom was excellent, even had a large spa bath. The room had a seperate lounge area to the bedroom. Very spacious. Mini bar, tea coffee in room etc. Also great location literally across the road from Sovereign Hill. Great Japanese restaurant walking distance. Recommend this place
Great deal..quiet and restful accommodation.. very clean and modern..large rooms and short drive to town..a few minutes to Sovereign Hill.. a few minutes walk to pizza..fish & chips.. chinese restaurants..friendly helpful staff.. Recommended...
Highly recommend this hotel. Very clean and large room - it had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and the cheap breakfast was a great bonus! Across the road from Sovereign Hill and a very quick drive to shops and restaurants. Would stay here again.
Excellent room, very tidy and clean with a very comfortable bed; I had the best sleep, which I really needed after working a long day. The room was a great size with seperate areas but felt fairly open too and it was tastefully decorated.Great amenities. Staff were very pleasant.
Had an overnight stay at the hotel, very clean and tidy. These people take great pride in what they do. It's more than evident. Not a lot of road noise. Breakfast was also beyond expectations. Highly recommended.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows great... fantastic electric blanket, just what you need in Ballarat at this time of year. The room service breakfast was delicious and presented lovely on the tray.
We've just stayed here for 3 nights, in a downstairs executive suite, which was the size of a large hotel room. Very comfortable king size bed & nice bathroom (no spa). Room 21 is a quiet room at the back, except for the noisy mini-fridge opposite the bathroom (I'm a very light sleeper). When i closed the sliding cupboard door in front of the fridge the noise was reduced to an acceptable level. There were no power-points near the bed to plug our phones into, so we charged them at the desk. The room had a very comfortable 3-seater leather couch next to the bed, but if you want to read etc without the main lights on (I didn't want to disturb hubby who was still asleep), then you need to sit on a dining chair near the TV, as that's where the lamp is located. The managers were very friendly and helpful, with recommendations about nearby eateries and suggestions of places to visit. It was a 5 min drive into the centre of town. Daily continental breakfast was included in our rate, which was delivered to the room. I would be happy to stay here again.
We spent the night here while visiting Sovereign Hill. It is just across the road and you can either do a very short drive to ample parking or walk. There are also eateries up and down the road so plenty of choices. We walked to the Sports Club just to the left up the road and didn't regret it. The room/suite was very roomy and modern and comfortable. It is a motel room with a kitchenette including a toaster and sink and very large ensuite. Heating works well and the large window opens onto a private section of garden so very private. Nice toiletries and good hairdryer. Parking right outside the door if you are on the ground floor.
Modern well appointed room with comfortable furnishings that was perfect for an overnight stay. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Free Wi-Fi and cable meant it was easy to relax and mix a little bit of work with some TV entertainment.
We stayed from 1-8 August. This is our second stay at Best Western Ballarat Suites. We also stayed in 2016. Great motel which is central to most of Ballarat's attractions. Sovereign Hill is just across the road. Very welcoming hosts, room was clean and warm. Only complaint was the guest upstairs above us stomping around every morning at 4:30am woke me up. Probably a workman who starts early. Still had a nice stay despite that.
We recently stayed for 2 night found the room which was for people with disabilities to be excellent. Bathroom spacious and very clean. One to 2 things needed a shelf for soap and shampoo in shower and maybe another hand rail, Bed was lovely and plenty of extras.
Extremely clean. great size. bathroom super. Bed and pillows also great reception helpful and courteous. I searched for a fault and only found the clock on the microwave had the wrong time. Location also good.
Really enjoyed our stay at Best Western Ballarat - room was was tastefully decorated with a modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed - felt like you were sleeping on air. Only complaint we did not have any milk for our cuppa.
clean, comfy, modern. NETFLIX, dvd, internet, awesome bathroom, great shower. friendly staff. central location. Big rooms. easy car parking. would definitely recommend to others. easy to book. reasonably priced.
We had a very comfortable 2 night stay at the Best Western in Ballarat. The room was lovely, spotless, no complaints there, and the beds were ' the best!' So comfortable and cosy! The breakfasts were great, we thoroughly enjoyed them, and the staff were really helpful, and pleasant. We'll definitely stay there again, next time we visit Ballarat.
Pleasant management. .Room was spacious, spotless, and all linen was way above average. Breakfast was hot and ample. The mini bar catered for all tastes and priced well. You could heat a meal if you chose. Great heating No hesitation returning again.
This motel is very clean which is extremely important to us. The hot water was nice and hot, the plunge spa was popular with our daughter. Highly recommend to all holiday makers and travellers alike. Close to everything and right across the road from sovereign hill. Only downside no restaurant at the motel nor room service but there are plenty of places to eat close by. Bed was very soft and warm.
Stayed on Sunday night in a Superior Room. Loved it. The room was very spacious, had a every up to date bathroom, lovely towels, very clean and reverse air con that keep the room very warm on such a cold night. The bed was very comfortable and a bonus of having an electric blanket. Most motels and hotel don't have them anymore. Tanya and her husband were lovely to deal. Great place to stay. Thanks guys.
A nice clean and comfortable Best Western apartment motel - spa suite was well appointed and provided everything required for a comfortable nights stay! Excellent location, a short stroll to the Sovereign Hill attraction site. 5 min drive to CBD. Will definitely stay again.
Absolutely stunning place to stay modern clean bathroom and room with foxtel and free wifi, front desk helpful only a matter of minutes from the cbd, also very quiet would stay there again.stayed in upstairs room
We had an executive room. The room was clean and the king bed was so comfortable. The man on reception was friendly. We had a ground floor room it was quiet and we couldn't hear any road noise. We had a continental breakfast the pastries and croissants were fresh and tasty.
Stayed only one night but found the rooms very spacious, great heating, very large bathrooms with rain showers (these are the best) Very comfortable bed as had a fantastic nights sleep.Very quiet rooms as heard no road noise. Staff friendly and helpful.
Great quiet location. Clean room (maybe a little tired). Wonderful bed. Lovely fluffy towels. Free wifi. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Only complaint: noisy guests above us using spa at 11 pm first night and then making noise at 6-7 am on second morning :-( But not much management could do about that I guess.
We spent one night in a downstairs deluxe room and were delighted with the comfort, spaciousness and cleanliness throughout. The modern bathroom with the walk in shower and 'his and hers' basins was further enhanced by a good supply of towels and face washers, all of excellent quality for dryability. The king size bed which provided ultimate comfort, access to Foxtel, and a well equipped kitchen with mini bar made our stay very pleasant indeed. We stay at a lot of motels, this one is hard to beat.
The room was clean and well laid out except for one minor thing for us. We had a lounge/kitchenette and bedroom. Would have been nice to have a door between for the early riser of a couple. Bed was so comfortable and clean. The plunge spa was interesting! Staff member who greeted us (sorry forgot the name) was friendly and professional. Stayed 2 nights and would stay again but will ask next time to be located somewhere in the middle of the 2 sets of stairs to save from the late night/early morning stomping up and down of rude guests.
No guarantee of car space. Maybe you should have room numbers on your car spaces. One Key did not work! May be you should warn people when checking in that there is a chance that there will be no car space. You could then direct them as to where they can park! Never had this happen before in a motel!
This motel/hotel is very good. You can park outside your room in the courtyard parking within the complex. The rooms are spacious and very well fitted out for self catering. The double beds are huge. The bathrooms have showers and Jacuzzi tubs. You order your breakfast which is delivered to your room at your chosen time by Rodney and Tanya Anderson who manage it. They are friendly and very helpful. The added bonus is that the Sovereign Hill attraction is literally over the road, so very convenient, but it isn't too far from the centre of the city either. I thoroughly recommend this hotel
If you visit in the west of victoria and want to stay in ballarat then the best western ballarat suites is the place of stay, comfortable, clean and the people are great. Situated in the heart of the city opposite sovereign hill its walking distance to the attraction.
This was a surprise! The rooms are modern, very spacious and well appointed. The king bed was absolutely heaven. The best away-from-home sleep in a very.long time, with enough pillow selections to suit we two fussy sleepers. The minibar is well equipped and the toiletries nice. Sofa so no need to sit on the bed to watch TV, but the bed was the star! Thanks for a very comforyable stay.
I stay here everytime I'm in Ballarat around 5-6 times a year. Rooms are always well appointed and beds are very comfortable. Large screen LCD TV and well stocked mini bar. Bathroom is great with rain shower heads and huge towels. Definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to stay close to Sovereign Hill and see the Ballarat area and attractions.
Why do 99.9% of motels have firm beds, is it so hard, realistically, the only reason we need them is a good bed and shower. Well thank you Rodney (manager) we have been in 6 motels in 9 days and this was the only comfortable bed of the lot. As well as great service, great shower, spacious room and large shower. This motel is close to a reasonable number of restaurants and bars, well within walking distance and a sensational breakfast joint about 60 seconds walk away. Will stay again.
My daughter and I stayed one night prior to a hike the next day. We were warmly greeted on arrival and check in was quick and efficient. The room was very clean and quite modern. Spacious bathroom. Room had a seperate lounge room/kitchenette. Hotel is in a quiet location right across the road from Sovereign Hill. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Very clean and comfortable rooms with good WiFi. Breakfast (extra fee) delivered to room!! Location perfect for visiting Sovereign Hill and Gold Museum (which you should do!). Easy 5-10 minute walk. Laundromat just 500 meters down the road. Staff friendly and helpful.
Clean, tidy premises with very helpful staff. Great facilities for people with disabilities. Staff were very understanding that my elderly parents were slow and weren't able to vacate the room until a bit after checkout time. Very helpful with knowledge of places to visit. The motel is within about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive, to Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum,
Stayed at the Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites while on a trip to Ballarat to visit Sovereign Hill with the family. Was greeted cheerfully and given the room key. Stayed in the upper floor king spa room which was of a good size. Room was cleaned well and looked quite fresh. The service was excellent from all the team. If you are looking to stay in Ballarat I highly recommend the Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites.
This is a high quality motel on a fairly busy road just south of the city centre. Having said this, my room was quiet as it was set well back from the road. The check in and check out processes were friendly, quick and easy. My suite had a sitting area with a microwave, fridge (full of minibar items) and sink, as well as a small desk and TV. There was a more or less separate bedroom with a large, very comfortable bed with lovely crisp linen. The immaculately clean and well-maintained bathroom had wonderfully large, fluffy towels. The wifi worked very well. the one, very small downside of the layout was that the TV is in the sitting area so you can't lie in bed and watch it! Overall, a very good place to stay.
I travel for business, it is always a pleasure staying at The Ballarat Suites. Danny and Natalie are always very welcoming. The rooms are extremely comfortable. The location is only a short drive into Ballarat. Its nice to have a comfortable bed.(ive stayed several times in different rooms and they have all been great }
Absolutely delighted in the room. We stayed 3 nights. The room had everything you needed, right down to a magnifying mirror in the bathroom! Staff that we came in contact with were very polite and helpful, and knew their job well. Both the bathroom and the bedroom area were all spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable, awesome pillows too! The hotel is situated directly opposite Sovereign Hill, so if you were planning a trip, Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites would be the place to stay. You don't even have to take your car, you can walk!!! I would highly recommend a stay at Best Western Plus Ballarat!
We picked this hotel because of its location and price. It is right beside a convenience store which is nice when you want a coffee. Right down the road is pizza hut. AND you are right across the road from Sovereign Hill. The hotel is clean and the front desk staff are very nice. Would recommend this for any visit to Ballarat.
Very good value for money accommodation with lovely touches. We found it to be quiet with very good facilities. Easy distance from Melbourne and will use again for business trips. Thoroughly recommended.
Room (and bathroom) is very modern, spacious & clean. Beds were so comfortable and the hospitality was superb. Breakfast (we had the french toast) was beautiful. The walk in, accessible bathroom was awesome, even comes with a sliding door which is so much easier for my arthritic, elderly mother. Very, very impressed and will definitely stay there again next time I visit Ballarat.
I stayed at this BWP in Ballarat for a couple of nights to attend a corporate offsite held down the road. Was very happy to come back to the large spotless suite-style room each night. Really well kept establishment. Had an issue after the stay with the BW rewards points not having been credited for the stay which was quickly addressed when I emailed the manager, no fuss at all. There is a lovely independent coffee roaster just a few metres down the road (Enga) which does a good breakfast and kickstarter to the day.
We stayed for an athletics meet, so close to the track. We had everything we needed. The room with a very spacious and very clean. We booked a king spa room which was located on the ground floor but we also needed an extra bed for my daughter. All beds were so good, we had the best nights sleep. We loved the kitchenette even with a sink, haven't seen that much before. The staff are awesome from check in and check out. I will certainly be back. Also this motel is close to everything in Ballarat and not noisy accommodation.
I was drawn to the clean photos on the website and the unexpected reasonable price. We arrived later than the reception closing time and the hotel staff kindly accommodated our late arrival to ensure we were in our room and resting in our beds without delay. And the beds were very comfortable too. The rooms were very spacious and clean. There was even a sink in the kitchenette which is not something you get in a lot of motel rooms. Whilst it was on one of the more main roads in Ballarat, it was fairly quiet. The location was close to the main strip and Lake Wendouree. Within walking distance if you don't mind a half hour stroll. The staff were friendly and the rooms were cleaned up daily, which I wasn't expecting, so it was a nice surprise to come back after a long day out to clean towels and a freshly made I will definitely consider the motel again for our next stay.
Located on a the main road out of Ballarat we stayed in an upstairs 1 bedroom apartment. It was noisy with semis running all night which made sleeping difficult. The room was well equipped but the advertised foxtel didn't work because apparently the subscription had not been renewed. Very close to Sovereign Hill which is convenient. There is on site parking but less parks than rooms so first come, best dressed & very narrow parks. Will not be back, too noisy.
Stayed for 10 days. Everything was great. Lovely room which was very spacious especially the bathroom. All fittings and fixtures were clean and new. Room service breakfasts were very generous serves. Great location - close to Sovereign Hill, shops, the University and restaurants.
The room and bed are Really Clean & New. Great facilities in room, a fridge, Foxtel tv, minibar, etc. Convenient parking. Good location, right across to the Sovereign hill. Not far from the pub Red Lion. The receptionist was nice and easy to deal with. Really recommended:)
Stayed two nights....Could see sovereign hill from motel we were so close...Beds extremely comfortable..only wish was there was a TV in bedroom...I would have gone to bed earlier...main street not far...Very quiet as far a people coming and going and they were fully booked....Overall very happy...definitely would stay again...Many Thanks..:)
We stayed here overnight on our way from Melbourne to Adelaide. A very clean, tidy and new room. Lovely bathroom - double sink was fabulous as were the plentiful number of towels and toiletries. Good selection of TV channels and a comfortable bed. Friendly hosts. There was no trouble with being provided a fold out bed for our 3 year old daughter - it was all set up and ready to go when we arrived - a welcome relief after so many places that just leave a fold out bed or a cot for you to struggle with when you arrive. Would happily stay there again.
This was a great motel. The location was also a very good choice. Rooms are nice and new. My wife said she felt “snug as a bug in a rug” in the big king size bed! I would definitely stay here again- With new white towels and great washing potions the shower is wonderful. The tub looks like it holds 1000 liters of water. My wife nor I tried it on this trip.
I stay at Best Western Ballarat semi-regularly for business travel, I am always welcomed back, the rooms are exceptionally clean and the service is outstanding. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone passing through Ballarat.
Room 20 at back, very quiet and clean, well fitted for simple meals and bathroom is excellent especially the heater and fan stopped the usual fog . Bed also very good, all staff very pleasant and helpful. We will be back
We were very impressed with the accommodation, the room was spotless, bed very comfortable, the kitchenette had the basics if you want to prepare your own meals. Even the doors close quietly, so if other guests come home, you're not disturbed by banging doors! The reception staff were exceptionally helpful and Billy's Bistro and Bar is just a short walk away. There was some traffic noise from the road but if you close the windows, the sound is minimised.
The hosts Danny and Natalie could not be more accommodating - helping with dinner recommendations, rental advice, photocopying and printing. They really go above and beyond - it tops off already extremely clean and pleasant room. We were made to feel so welcome and would definitely recommend staying here. It is so nice to experience such friendly service.
My partner, son and I stayed here for 1 night. The new managers had just recently taken over and were fantastic! Bed for son wasn't set up in the room, but without a fuss it was set up in no time. Highly recommend this accommodation and we will be back for sure! Big comfy king size bed, massive spa and shower! Very clean! Even the rollaway bed was comfy, as some sure aren't.
Room was very comfortable and bathroom clean and easy to use. The staff were very helpful and great when it came to getting my laptop going. Well recommended and will certainly use again for our trips up that way in future.
Well appointed and extremely comfortable, very spacious with a work desk and a dining table the bedroom had the best bed and pillows. Bathroom with a Spa and separate shower, whilst on my own a couple could very comfortably stay here and not fall over each other. Highly recommended.
We stayed two nights. Very friendly team at motel. It is very modern, beds were comfortable and no noticeable noise from outside. Breakfast was very good and on time. There isn't a restaurant in the motel but you can get a coffee at reception and are next door to a service station for snacks etc. There are a range of restaurants, bistro and take away shops within 5 minutes walk, as well as Sovereign Hill and other tourist venues.
Stayed here for one night. The man at check in was very helpful when I said I only had 24 hours and asked what to see. My room was large and very modern. It had excellent free wifi and cable TV. The king size bed was very nice. Located very close to Sovereign Hill. Highly recommended.
We stayed 3 nights in a King Spa suite and really enjoyed our stay. We were after a ground floor room, but were offered 10% discount if we took an upstairs room. We gladly accepted and found the stairs to be large and wide so was no problem. The kitchen had plates and cutlery, sink, microwave and fridge so we could make our own breakfast. The bed was super comfy so we slept well. We had room 15 at the back of the motel, so was quite a quiet room. Everything is new and very clean. Service from booking to check-in was friendly and efficient. Right across from Sovereign Hill & a convenient store next door. We would recommend and we would stay here again.
nice new property, big bright clean room, large bathroom, free wifi, ground floor rooms available, I needed to park on road as I have a trailer which I could not have got into the car parking area, but it was under a street light and was safe enough, if I were in ballarat again I would use this motel again for sure
This was a very good motel to stay at. It had spacious rooms and was very close to tourist attactions, hotels and eateries. The motel appeared modern and the rooms were clean and well equipped. I would stay there again.
I recently had to spend some time in Ballarat for work, I stayed at the Best western plus, the rooms were very spacious and included foxtel, the showers are very large and the bathrooms are well appointed. The room that I had included a microwave which is very convenient. The hotel is close to town and there is a few restaurants within walking distance. A great place to stay when away from home.
Highly recommended for your trip to Ballarat, great location and modern rooms. Walking distance to Sovereign Hill with lots of parking available at Motel. Great dining options within walking distance to motel.
We stayed here on our road trip around Melbourne on our way to the Alpine road. The room was amazing and the bed was stunning! Would recommend it to anyone! If you have some time, visit the Botanical Gardens. They're great.
Such helpful and obliging hosts. Accommodated our request for bedding setups, provided adjoining rooms and opened the link door. Beautiful bedding and towels. Decor was lovely and the lounge areas a bonus. Choice of pillow was unexpected. The breakfasts were hot, delicious and fresh and great value. Thank you for allowing us to cancel one bed at the last minute.
Helen gave us excellent service. Units very clean with everything you require.Excellent customer service from check in to check out. Great clean bathroom with spa bath and shower. All in good clean modern condition. Well done Helen
We had an amazing room with King Bed and Spa. It was a very relaxing room with Sovereign Hill around the corner. Danny and Natalie were the perfect hosts of a wonderful stay. We thoroughly recommend the Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites. and also recommend you try out the local Restaurants.
The Best Western Suites room ticked most of the boxes. Location. Sovereign Hill is across the road. Ballarat centre just down the road. Room. Good sized sitting room with kitchenette. Bathroom with a great sized spa and a vey workable bedroom. Services. Breakfast available in the room. (No restaurant) Bad bit. On a main drag so for a person who lives in a very quiet area the road noise was hard to come to terms with.
We had the king spa suite which has beautiful white Cosy linen with lots of pillows to choose from. A very long ensuite with a deep round spa at one end with all modern fittings to the room. There is also a large living room with a table with chairs desk and couch. The only negative was no tv in the bedroom. The tv was in the living room but I could move it to the bedroom doorway to watch laying down. Not the biggest but all in all probably the most modern hotel in the district that we have stayed in out of around 8 hotels.
Very clean hotel , well appointed , good location for sovereign hill , limited food availability, great staff , need a taxi or bus , to get about on Main Street , recommended as a good night rest , the staff we very helpful ,
The Kids' Cancer Project team thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites! The rooms were bright and comfortable and we all woke up feeling refreshed and thankful for Best Western's hospitality. Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites donated a portion of our stay to The Science Project, our first ever national awareness tour to spread the word that kids with cancer need science! Thank you for supporting us.
This was good find. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. To the point when i booked another room for another they made it possible to stay in the same room. Also very helpful by locating a tv remote control that worked A large variety of rooms. The room i stayed in was claen &tidy they are a good size, with great amenities . Close to soverign hill and a short drive from centre of Ballarat mKing eveything accessible. A large number of eating place. I walked a very short distance to biils bar and bistro.
We stayed for three days and would totally recommend to stay here anytime. It was one of the nicest places that I have stayed for a while and the Owners were so very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The twin room was very roomy and the bathroom very modern. Would be very happy to stay here again.
Excellent facilities, high standard and will return again if ever needed. In-house delivery of takeaway coffee a delightful surprise. Easy access to high-quality Japanese restaurant very close to the accommodation as well put the icing on the cake.
Ballarat Suites is close to amenities, shopping and many restaurants. Owners were wonderful and gave excellent service. The suite on the ground floor was excellent with extremely modern roomy bathroom and everything we needed provided. Breakfasts were great and provided on time.
I have a weekly business commitment in Ballarat every year and for the last two years I have stayed at this Best Western Plus property. It is unfailingly excellent. Immaculately clean and extremely comfortable with large living and bath rooms, decent lighting, plenty of power outlets, and effective (and quiet) heating, an important feature in Ballarat in August! It is also quiet and has off street parking. There is a breakfast service only but cafes, bars and restaurant options are less than five minutes walk away.
My partner and I stayed here for 1 night and were very comfortable. The hotel was very booked the Friday night we stayed, however we heard no noise from neighbours and slept peacefully. Heating worked really well as it is bloody freezing in Ballarat! We had the deluxe spa room and the plunge spa was amazing! The only thing to remember is to start filling the tub early on as it takes a while to fill! Hot breakfast delivered to our room was delicious and hot. We will stay here again if we are in the area again!
I travel a lot for work and have to stay in hotels a lot. This hotel was a real treat! It felt like a one bedroom apartment. It had a mini bar and lounge chair, desk and a small dining table. Then the next room was the king size bed, and bathroom complete with a deep bathtub/spa. The break I order was prompt and fresh and I could order real coffee in a take away cup - BONUS! I wish all hotels were like this one. Thanks guys.
We stayed one night at Best Western and it was the best hotel amongst the 3 I booked for my trip! The bed was big and comfy, I had the best sleep in my trip. The spa tub is amazing, my 2 year old enjoyed the tub very much. Despite being winter, the hotel heating system is so good you don't even feel it's winter. Parking is so convenient you can park your car right in front of the room. Conveniently located opposite Sovereign Hill, we know that comfy bed is just 2 minutes away after the Winter Wonderlight event ended. There are also several restaurants and a 24hours petrol station right next to the hotel.
In Ballarat to visit family for the night we chose to stay at the Best Western. The location was easy to find. we were greeted by a lovely lady at reception. The room was large and very clean. Foxtel was available. Breakfast was available to order to our room and the next morning was delivered exactly at the time we requested. The french toast with berries and maple syrup was a wonderful start to our day. We would definitely stay here again.
We are very pleased and surprised with the quality of this motel. Only an overnight trip but very comfortable with double sinks in the bathroom, a great walk in shower and an extremely comfortable bed. The location is a little bit out of the town centre and as there is no restaurant on site and none within walking distance it means driving or taking a taxi. Being the middle of winter Ballarat is famed for being one of the coldest places in Australia where it doesn't snow!! Can get ice and frost though so we were glad to have good heating/air con. with heating lights in the bathroom.
Staff were very friendly & helpful on arrival. The room was amazing. One of the best stays we have had. Everything is spotless, warm room & bed, & nice to soak in the hot tub. We will definitely stay here on our next time through. Wife was very happy, so I was too!!
Receptionist very welcoming and accommodating with printing off documents for us. Very helpful with dining recommendations also. Upstairs room...lounge/kitchenette and separate bedroom. Quiet, very clean and modern design. Bed very large and comfortable. Massive spa bath and excellent water pressure in shower. Huge fluffy towels. Free wifi. Great value for money. Will return and most definitely recommend.
Magnificent accommodation with equally magnificent staff. Attention to detail is obvious from the moment you check in Warm welcome the accommodation is guest centric and nothing is too much trouble for this team.
Great rooms, the bed is very luxurious and the Pay TV is a bonus. Very clean and had a new feel to the decor. Seems central to town and walking distance to good food outlets. Good off street parking. 2 story so ask for downstairs if you need easy access.
We stayed in a King Suite and were amazed at the large size of the room, the bed and the bathroom. Presented well and impeccably clean. A huge shower, double sinks in the bathroom and a bar sink in the small 'kitchen' area. Dining table and chairs and couch meant we had a wonderfully comfortable stay. Parking is outside the room. The motel is across the road from Sovereign Hill tourist attraction so walking to the attraction is easy. No need to fight for parking at Sovereign Hills. Service at Reception was brilliant when we arrived and departed. Would definitely stay here again.
This place got friendly staff, a very clean room and tasty breakfast delivered to our room. We have requested early check in and the staff make an effort to get our room ready for us. Plus the location is very convenient, just 8minutes walk to Sovereign Hills.
The owners made us feel very welcome. The room we had was modern, clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect as it is located across the road from Sovereign Hill which means it is only a short walk away...no battling with the parking. There are also a couple of food places nearby 9walking distance as well) which makes the location great if you are only staying for one or 2 nights.
Stayed in most of the Hotels in Ballarat and Best Western is my favourite. My only issue is that location is further from work and restaurants than any other Hotels, but the Hotel itself is much more comfortable.
Clean, modern and convenient to activities. Would recommend and stay again if visiting Ballarat. The room was spacious, the bed enormous. Loved the location very quiet. Friendly staff and economical for what you got.
Great place to stay close to Sovereign Hill. The only thing is they don't have a restaurant attached. This the only down side. We stayed for 6 nights and we walked down to the fish shop, Red Lion Club. We walked to the Sovereign Hill twice, one for the Christmas in July show and dinner and then for the Blood on the cross show as the car park attached to Sovereign Hill gets very busy on weekends. This hotel is also close to a servo if you need stuff. The staff are very friendly and room was alway cleaned.
Like an oasis after a long car trip. Warm, friendly welcome, beautiful clean room and such a comfortable bed we actually slept in. Great advice on where to have dinner. Billy's a few doors down was an easy walk and provided amazing food.
Stay here at least 2 times a month and always find these rooms to be beautifully appointed with some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. Bathrooms are some of the best designed and functioning ones I have seen.
Straight across the road from Sovereign Hill which was only a 7 minute walk to the actual entrance. Fantastic Chinese/Thai/Malaysian restaurant 2 minute walk away also. Would definitely stay here again.
The room was clean, modern and very well appointed and with the complex perfectly located nearby various facilities and Ballarat's local attractions this accommodation option is the perfect base for a family holiday.
Neat and tidy as well as being reasonably priced. Staff are helpful and do what they can to accommodate your needs. I travelled for business and would happily stay here again. Only downside is all corporates who stayed were put into one area meaning no privacy - rooms close together and I could hear everything that went on in the room next to me
This hotel was ideally situated close to my work. Charge back facility was handy with a good restaurant 100m away. Room was spacious, lavish and extremely well fitted out. Very new and great location, oppoxite soveriegn Hill if that is on your to do list.
Stayed recently with my elderly mother who has limited mobility. The room with accessibility bathroom was perfect. Modern yet cosy for a winter stay in Ballarat. The reception staff were extremely pleasant. Mum and I enjoyed the delicious hot breakfast - recommended.
I work away a lot, and the staff here always make me feel at home. The rooms are very clean as well as well laid out. I do visit a lot of motels on my travels and i would say this is the best one i have ever stayed in.
Stayed one night and very happy! Suite was warm, modern, clean, comfortable and quiet. Everything needed was provided. Breakfast delivered to suite on time. Excellent and friendly reception. Great bed. Good parking in front of suite. Take a ground floor suite as first floor access by stairs only. Easy access to Sovereign Hill, 5 min drive to centre of Ballarat and supermarkets.
Last minute on line booking of this new-ish motel was successful. Friendly reception. Excellent value, very clean, neatly furnished, comfortable room with easy parking. Thin walls between rooms. Overall, happy customer!
Great position, quiet, beautiful room, want to take the bathroom home! Breakfast was hot and perfectly cooked when it got to my room. Parking was a bit tight when I got back later in the evening, parked on the street, but car was very secure, under lights.
This is the second time I have stayed here. The first time was a family holiday and had one of the spa suites, this time was for business. The rooms are great, very modern, comfortable bed and huge shower. I will be staying here in future for all my work trips. There is plenty of places to eat within 100 metres or more, just need to walk and leave the car there.
This was the nicest experience I've had in any motel lately. We had not planned to visit Ballarat, but very glad we did - loved the town. Perhaps we were biased, as this motel was very very good - can't fault it.
Only reason that I didn't give an excellent rating is that there is no TV in the bedroom and no restaurant on site. Had to walk down the street for food, and Ballarat in late May is bloody chilly. Nice place to stay and will stay there every time I'm in Ballarat for work.
This motel ticked all the boxes. Travelling with special needs it was a pleasure to have such excellent facilities. Great disabled bathroom. Lots of space, clean facilities, very comfortable for the whole family. Out of the 8 motels we stayed at this would be by far the best motel we have stayed at. Would recommend to anyone particularly people travelling with a disabled person.
Stayed here for work. Location was perfect. All amenities needed where near by. Room was very very clean. Great Quality. Very quite, wasn't disturbed by outside noises. Very Affordable. Highly recommend.
The room we stayed in was large, very clean with excellent facilities. The bathroom was spotless with ample room. The motel was close to all facilities and within easy reach to sovereign hill and the main shopping precint of ballarat.
The Best Western Ballarat is outside of the city, but very close to Sovereign Hill. There's an excellent Bistro within walking distance and the hotel will deliver coffee and breakfast to your room for a reasonable fee. Nice, clean, huge room.
We stayed at this hotel due to the proximity to Sovereign Hill (only a 10 minute walk). We stayed on the ground floor and our room was very clean and comfortable. The desk and cleaning staff were friendly and very willing to help with any concerns or questions you may have. There are restaurants very near by - try Billy's for some great food. It is only a short drive into town or if you feel like it you could walk. Nice place to stay.
Meeting with accountant is much more pleasurable when it can be topped off with a relaxing spa and unhurried stay in an excellent hotel. Certain to stay again and make it our base when visiting Ballarat.
Beautiful rooms and the attention to detail was a delight. Extensive mini bar, friendly and warm staff. Close to everything. Nice separate bedroom with en-suite, immaculate bathroom and the whole suite.
Fantastic accommodation with friendly hosts who make you feel welcome. Room modern and very clean. We had the King room with spa, it is a plunge spa and very spacious. Bathroom was pristine and had excellent amenities available. Unusual these days to find a toaster and microwave which was fantastic. They also do fantastic coffees available in a takeaway cup. Well placed near sovereign hill, and only a short drive into town. Highly recommended and no negatives here. Only one small suggestion for a couple of grab handles in spa area to assist getting in and out of spa and for safety reasons.....such a big beautiful spa. To the hosts thank you for a relaxed stay.
Will come again. Very nice room, fast wifi and friendly staff. Convenient location as well. Price wise it was very affordable and worths every cent. Restaurants and shops nearby makes it a good location to rest and spend a night.
Came up to Ballarat from Melbourne to visit family and friends. Chose this hotel for location and the good reviews online. Friendly staff, perfectly clean and tidy - extremely large and comfortable. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and never come across one without some small flaw - well now I have. Highly recommend for stays short and long :D
Everything about this hotel is good. The room we stayed in was very large, including the bathroom. Everything was super clean and new and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to park our hire car right outside our room which was very convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk to Sovereign Hill and is only a few minutes drive to the city centre. There is absolutely zero negatives about this place.
Very pleasant: clean, modern, relaxing. We stayed in the Spa Suite, which was quite spacious for the 3 of us. Good and quiet location, easy to find. Danny and Nathalie are excellent hosts: friendly, kind, very efficient and accommodating.
checked in early because we arrived early and it was fine. the staff member on site was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know. the carpark was a little small (small spaces) but what can you do. the rooms where very clean and modern. the location of this place is good if you had a car as it is a little distance out from the main city but it is walking distance from sovereign hill
We stayed one night in a king spa suite and had a wonderful time. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The king size bed was super comfy and and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. We rang prior to arriving for some dining recommendations and Danny had some wonderful suggestions that we booked. Look forward to returning again.
All good location, rooms clean and tidy, and comfy bed. Bathroom great with the twin handbasin, very handy when both trying to get ready the same time. Staff very helpful. Keep the reviews short and sweet and more people will make an effort to write a review.
After a long drive, it was nice to have an easy check in and to soon find myself in a spacious and well cared for room. The modern bathroom with double sink and massive shower was excellent. The card reader or the card was starting to fail so there was a bit of pot luck with unlocking the door, but some persistence got me in each time. It was wonderfully close to the other nearby hotel/convention centre where I was participating in a conference - a 2 minute walk. I didn't partake of any breakfasts (brought my own).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! We stayed in a King Deluxe Spa room. It was CLEAN, COMFORTABLE room and HANDY LOCATION with FRIENDLY HELPFUL STAFF. Photographs are true to reality. Various pillows to choose from, electric blankets (we didn't need them) and a room safe. Yummy breakfasts served hot and on time. Hot water with good shower heads. Lovely spa bath, large fluffy bath towels (bath sheets) and a comfortable bed <3. Security card entry to room, lock on bathroom door. Close proximity to Sovereign Hill, restaurants and a short drive into city centre. We had a wonderful stay! We'll be back and have already told family how wonderful this motel is!
We do recommend the Best Western Plus Suites. Our suite was spacious with room to move around. The clothing accommodation was a bit sparse with hanging space only and no chest of drawers so we could unpack entirely for our 4 night stay. So, our living area looked quite untidy - a shame in such good accommodation. To our joy, the proprietors are conducting a proper business and do NOT have a rip-off surcharge on Amex. It is clear that they are welcoming repeat business and we commend them for this.
Comfortable beds including the roll away bed. Great size, very well planned, clean, fully accessable room and tasteful decor . Staff are fantastic and so accommodating of unexpected changes. Breakfasts are delightful, current food style including the traditional options. Great parking off road. Fantastic find for our needs, and we will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends/family/others
My colleagues stay at this establishment very regularly and always rave about how warm and welcoming this place is, as a newbie I had high expectations and wasn't disappointed. The service from Danny and Natalie was impeccable and they made you feel welcome from the moment you stepped in the reception. The rooms are beautifully appointed with everything you need including, plates, bowls etc. The cleanliness of the rooms was exceptional - a real credit to such a busy establishment. My bed was very cosy. The breakfast provided was a lovely touch and the personal delivery to the room was thoughtful and unobtrusive. Hope my next stay is just as good.
I stay here for 4 nights. The room is perfect, everything work well. The breakfast is look like 5 star restaurant, they are flexible change the meal up to guest request, perfect. They provide invoice via printed paper, and even via email if you check out very early, their feedback about any issue very fast. The kitchen design for easy using.
Great location, close to everything we needed and also to Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, room was excellent, enjoyed a lovely relaxing spa bath and a big comfy bed! Will be staying again for sure :) Thank you!
Have stayed here on a number of times for work reasons, I find the service excellent and friendly, the rooms are very clean and the beds cosy, the room spacious, great bath rooms especially the decor, i will continue to choose this place first every time .
After a busy day driving our Camp Quality EsCarpade our motel room was a excellent oasis of peace and comfort. We had a lovely spa that was so relaxing. We had everything we needed and a lovely nights sleep that recharged us for our next day's driving to Deniliquin via Rochester for lunch.
The rooms were spacious and well appointed with very comfortable bedding. We were one of of 12 vehicles on a 5 day car tour and so were able to look at other rooms beside our own. We stayed in other motel's in different towns and this one was by far the best. It was also more expensive than the others but worth it.
Lovely room, cheerful welcome, nothing too much trouble. CEntrally located near Ballarat's main attraction. Ballarat is a lovely old historic town with old buildings, good restaurants and interesting attractions.
Alarm was set for 7:10am, surely housekeeping would reset any alarms between guests Pillows were all different types on a king bed King bed was 2 singles as it had hard line up the middle. Expected better
If your main activity in Ballarat is Sovereign Hill, staying here is a wise choice. This relatively new accommodation is newly refurbished & so near Sovereign Hill you can actually walk there. Service is friendly & warm.
Room was large and so clean we thought it had just been renovated Bed was comfy Staff were very friendly, and accomodating with directions and our Needs.location was reasonable but a little further out of city centre Than we would have liked.
I booked this hotel online after reading a few reviews. The rooms are spacious & very comfy. It is within easy walking distance of the Red Lion where a decent & well priced meal can be had. The hotel staff were friendly and the whole place had a clean & well kept air about it.
On an extremely cold, windy and rainy weekend, we felt very snug and secure in our suite. Lots of space and very quiet despite being close to the road. Luxury bathroom. Comfortable bed. Well stocked kitchenette.
This is a wonderful motel to stay the rooms were exceptional the hosts were very helpful with information as you continue your trip. They referred us to a wonderful restaurant within walking distance called Billy's. Top class place to stay at affordable prices would definitely stay here again
Great units, lots of room to spread out and the best motel bathroom ever!!! Lovely huge comfy bed,and everything was all nice and clean. Close to Sovereign Hill, food outlets close by, and not too far from town, couldn't recommend highly enough.
Stayed one night for work, a new motel, clean, comfortable with fresh décor and friendly staff. Room was comfortable and quiet. Close to a number of options for dinner. Wifi included which is always preferred and a good speed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
After poor accommodation in Daylesford it was a relief to arrive at this motel. Friendly reception, very spacious room, double hand basins, fantastic shower pressure, fabulous king bed and a thin, soft pillow! These are RARE in motels! Bliss. Ask for Room 20....
Stayed here for one night while visiting friends in Ballarat. Room was great - mini bar, huge bed, all very comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic - HUGE deep spa bath, and also a large separate shower - all very modern and sparkling clean. Lovely friendly service at reception also.
Location fantastic just a stones throw from Sovereign Hill, close and handy, walking distance to excellent food. Caring considerate staff who go out of their way to make you feel so welcome, order you a rental car...thank you Danny. Nothing is ever a problem. The best place in Ballarat to stay. Good parking, comfortable rooms very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Have stayed here before and will stay again. This time stayed overnight - one night only in a spa suite. Comfortable modern room with some space to still move - even though we had added a rollaway. Good Quiet location. Plus was the generously sized fluffy bath towels.
My wife and son are in Ballarat frequently and have been staying at the All Suites for 8 years. The location is very convenient and the Spa Suites are excellently appointed. The service is always great and booking is a breeze. The room service for breakfast is also very good, plus there is a microwave for anything else you might bring along. We will always make this our first choice in Ballarat.
Excellent stays at the Best Western Motel Ballarat Suites. The staff are friendly , caring and accommodating We require one of the disabled rooms and find it is always very clean, comfortable, lovely decor and just perfect for a disabled person. Plenty of parking spaces, The Motel itself and the grounds are well maintained. Highly recommended
We have stayed here a few times as we have friends we visit in Ballarat & Gordon so this establishment is located in a great spot for us. We always try & get one of the the King Spa Suite's as they are our favorite - the hotel itself is quiet & for us very convenient , comfortable & staff very friendly
We stayed in a spa king room for 2 nights. The room was large with a seperate lounge, dining and kitchenette area. The spa bath - what can I say? One of the deepest and most luxurious I have ever enjoyed.
I love this property, it is modern, huge bathrooms and large rooms. All rooms are the same - which is great When I checked in I am allocated a room n the top floor, is a two story property), the Owner helped me carry my bags up and offered to help me with them when I checked out They have a fantastic breakfast menu, not the usual ordinary stuff and the food is very fresh and coffee great.
I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is! I stayed here over a couple of months & the service was beyond amazing. The rooms are beatiful, extremely spacious, comfortable & relaxing. Always very clean & welcoming. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, kind & extremely helpful & always very friendly. They all made me feel very much at home. The breakfasts are superb, always fresh, hot & you can tell its homemade & a lot of care has been taken to make it perfect. Best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten. I can not recommend enough that if you need somewhere to stay in Ballarat, this is the perfect place to stay.
We loved our two nights at this motel. The suite was large clean and comfortable with the deepest two person spa bath we've seen. Although it was a busy road our room was peaceful and quiet. Fridge, microwave oven, comfortable lounge, table and chairs were all in the room. The hotel was well located, very close to Sovereign Hill, the major tourist attraction in the city of Ballarat.
We stayed in a spa room. it was clean, modern, and despite being on the highway, very quiet. Free wifi, pleasant staff. All good. A little difficult to turn right onto the highway. Turn left instead and chuck a U-turn at the roundabout.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ballarat suites over the weekend. The room was very spacious, clean and easily accessible. There are a number of ground floor rooms for disabled access. The room was fully kitted with large bed, couch, tv, towels, kitchen appliances and large bathroom. The room was cleaned daily if needed. There was also a large selection of meals for purchase however we did not purchase anything. Excellent weekend accommodation.
Had a very enjoyable experience at Best Western. Great value for money and a comfortable stay. We stayed in the King Spa suite and were very pleased with the facilities. Great location- 5 min drive into town and walking distance to Sovereign Hill. Hotel Staff very accommodating and friendly. Would stay here again. Only con: When I filled the spa and turned on the jets- clumps of long hair shot into the tub from the jets. I didn't jump in after seeing that.
It is our experience that many motels around Australia really is in need of refurbishing, but not Best Western Ballarat.... We were positively surprised to find a modern an clean interior. Two large rooms and bathroom. We were greeted by friendly staff, and can highly recommend this place. We asked to stay an hour and a half longer than 10 am. The 'offer' was $ 50,- to stay until 12 noon. This is exorbitant ??
Lovely modern spacious rooms with a deep Japanese spa. Comfortable beds, blankets and pillows, good heating and cooling system. Great for families with older kids. Good food and great service. A short walk to Sovereign Hill.
The room we stayed in was very disappointing not $170 worth. -No doona cover -Doona was torn & had human hairs on it -No fitted sheet -Multiple plaster pateches unpainted -Mould growing on roof above shower -Sharp plug for spa bath (screw poking out) I have stayed in much nicer accommodation for $100
Ballarat Best Western Plus deserves their high ranking on trip advisor. Located only 5 minutes walk from the entry of Sovereign Hill, this place is very good. Upon arrival you are greeted warmly by the front desk staff and they are more than helpful. Our room, suite with Japanese plunge pool, was very clean, modern and had all the conveniences needed. We stayed for 2 nights and housekeeping did a marvellous job of cleaning after our first night. If using the plunge pool in the bathroom be warned it takes a while to fill due to its size so prepare earlier than anticipated. beds were comfy and rooms were quiet. Sensational place!!
I've been staying at this hotel for quite a few years and it has never disappointed me. It's comfortable, very clean and a delight to stay at. The beds are so comfortable. I think there have been three different owners over the years and they all have the sane high standards. Well done and thank you.
We loved our overnight stay at Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Loved the separate lounge area made it feel like an apartment. Check in and check out was really easy and staff were very friendly. loved the bowl of apples sitting on the counter for anyone to take. Small touches like this go a long way. Thank you for a great night and hope to be back soon.
I highly recommend Best Western Ballarat! After so long on the road, this accommodation was a treat. The rooms were clean. The bed was really comfortable. The showers were spotlessly clean and the shower head very fancy. The staff were lovely. A great experience!
Very comfortble beds, convenient location in Bendigo. Considerate and helpful staff. Room was very pleasant. Handy location to nearby shops and not far from Bendigo CBD. Breakfast delivered to room was very good too.
I highly recommend staying here as my experience as a first-time customer was indeed very positive. The room was exceptionally large, very modern and was not only clean upon arrival, but maintained very well by housekeeping. Front-office staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, it offered great value for money and I rebooked upon checking out.
looking for overnight stay in Ballarat found the Best Western Plus had vacancies and decided to book in as a walk up. Found the room among one of the more comfortable rooms that l have stayed in, with bed very comfortable and relaxing. the room was spacious and provided a relaxing environment after traveling all day. Breakfast room service was excellent and can easily recommend the eggs Benedict. Will definitely be looking to stay here again.
This was our first stay with Ballarat Suites and I can't say enough that it provided excellent accommodation. Rooms were spotless, the spa was clean and sparkling. The hosts of this accommodation were so friendly and welcoming. It was like being at home. I would recommend this to everyone considering going to Ballarat as their first choice pick to stay overnight. I will definitely be going back
So spotlessly clean, caring staff, amazing room & the best service ever in every way. So glad we're staying here tonight, what a perfect gem in a perfect location. Couldn't ask for more! Can't wait for a fabulous breakfast too, I hear they're to die for too..... Really good quality Bacon !
This hotel offers the most comfortable and pleasant accommodation. It is a pleasure to stay in these large lovely rooms. This boutique hotel provides highly personalised attention. The heating is great in winter. The cooling is great in summer. Spa rooms add a touch of luxurious relaxation when it is needed. In-room breakfasts make this a perfect place for getting ready for a working day.
Quite a nice stay, perfect size for 2 people and easy access to tbe centre of town. It has a nice atmosphere for our short stay and enjoyed the weekend. The cleaning and bed change was quick and efficient.
Super close to sovereign hill. We still drove because of the cold. The staff are very accommodating. The rooms are superb. Beds are comfortable. Extremely clean and well kept and appointed. It's only a short drive to the centre of town. Would absolutely stay here again.
I travel weekly for work often to a new place each time and was so surprised and happy with my stay here. The room was immaculate, modern, very comfortable bed, and certainly better than a lot of the big chain hotels I've stayed in! Will definitely be back.
This is great quality accommodation that makes everything so easy if you're going to Sovereign Hill with children. Rooms are fresh and modern with neutral decor, very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms with spa bath and a separate lounge area to give extra space. New split system heating plus electric blankets were wonderful given how cold it can be. Friendly staff deliver your breakfast to order which is really convenient. It's just around the corner from Sovereign Hill - you can actually see it from the motel - so you can walk or drive and you're there in no time. Highly recommended.
We stayed here whilst visiting sovereign hill. Accomodation is very close to sovereign hill, you could walk there. Friendly reception staff on arrival. Parking was easy. The room heated quickly and the bed had electric blanket. We travelled with a toddler. The portacot provided was good and there was plenty of room for it to be set up. Deep bath was relaxing and mini bar was reasonably priced. Will stay here again if ever in ballarat again.
We stayed in Ballarat primarily to visit Sovereign Hill and felt we hit eh jackpot with this hotel. Interconnecting suites gave our family of five plenty of space, and the service from the reception staff was standout. Location was closer to Sovereign Hill than we could park on what was their busiest day ever. Couple of easy eating options nearby with the town centre a few minutes drive away.
The water release tap on the spa bath was broken. Water cannot be drained without 'knowing' the special 'trick' to empty the spa. When I realised it was broken I left the water in the spa (actually what else could I do) This was also to alert the cleaner to the problem. After checking out I noticed $50 charged to my credit card, when I phoned the hotel I was abruptly told by the male manager I should have went to the manager to find out how to get the water out. Really!! But as that didn't happen and without any warning or notification I found a sneaky $50 charged to my credit card. I understand if I damaged the place, but to be charged for something that was not my fault does beg the question, is this some type of scam. Does this hotel deliberately not fix the spa so they can scam unsuspecting travellers? I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions but after the worst possible customer experience, never again.
Fabulous accommodation in a great location near Sovereign Hill. Spacious lounge with sink, microwave, desk, with WIFI , king size bed, really large spa and shower recess. Clean and modern furnishings very well presented.
A great place to stay in Ballarat. The plunge pool in the King suites is a huge draw card. My favourite place to stay in Ballarat. The welcome was warm, the staff fabulous. Stayed on the way back to Melbourne, a real treat.
This place is so fantastic. We spent 2 nights here. We stayed in a Spa Suit, it was so deep my daughter could stand in it ?? The staff were very helpful from a quick check in, to recommendations and discounts for restaurant in the area for booking directly through there site. We had trouble opening our door but the gentleman came to our aid without us even go back to reception and after a long day and night at Soverign Hill our key didn't work, it was fixed quick and let us know that sometimes this happens if the key spends to much time close to mobile phones so we were able to ensure this didn't happen again. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. Will be coming again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay ...lovely room..spacious..well appointed...king spa room.. Very comfortable ..excellent breakfast menu and very adequate servings.. Would certainly recommend this accommadation to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in Ballarat...very close to several eating places Billeys Bristro and Bar is only 5 minutes walk..
The room was immaculately kept and spacious. The reception staff were friendly and only to helpful to assist. Easy check in. The only negative aspect all be it a very minor one was the fact that you had to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs to get to the rooms located on the first level of the motel. If this was to be a problem when staying there, you would likely request a room on the ground floor. I would definitely stay here again.
We had not stayed at the motel for several years. We certainly noticed a big improvement in the new proprietors. They are clearly committed to providing a 5 star venue and service. The presentation of fresh fruit and excellent yogurt for breakfast was excellent. Well done we will be back again.
Very pleasantly surprised with the very large twin room. Excellent lighting which is very hard to find in hotels. Small kitchenette which is all you need for an overnight stay. Highly recommended this hotel.
On arrival was happy was away from main highways and truck noise. Reception was efficient and friendly. The room is stunningly modern and extremely comfortable. Great shower and bathroom. Microwave and kitchette. Only suggestion is add a cutting board to prevent your bench getting damaged. Bed and linen comfortable, modern TV and good work area. I WILL return. Price not the lowest, but the Best Western in Humphry St is dirty old and unfriendly. This one is so go in comparision. Worth the extra.
Large room with plenty of space, nice clean and modern facilities. Comfortable for a couple of nights stay. A bit out of town, so fairly quiet, but close enough for easy access to the main shopping malls. Friendly owners, very welcoming.
Found the whole experience really faultless. Rooms very comfortable and quiet despite being on Main Rd. Excellent for Sovereign Hill and Gold museum. Motel management very very helpful with bookings and directions. Although a restaurant is shown on signage it does not have one. Its not a problem really with a good range of restaurants within walking distance but may be for some people.
Always try & stay at this hotel in Ballarat when need to, as always spotless inside & out, & furniture is always kept in good order along with everything else. People are always friendly & always happy to give us a late checkout, which we are usually out before time stated. Close to eating places & Sovereign Hill.
Travelling for business and discovered I was booked in here. The location is close to Sovereign Hill with a couple of restaurants and fast food places close by. Relatively new the room was a delight, stylishly appointed, well furnished and very spacious. Bathroom was a delight, clean, sparkling and tasteful. Large rainfall shower and twin basins with lots of room. All new and high quality fittings. Bed was large and comfortable with fresh, new sheets. The soft, fluffy towels (bath sheets really) even had a hint of fragrance about them? Free WiFi was the icing on the cake of a really, really nice room!
Best Western Plus was a delightful stay whilst in Ballarat. On our arrival, we were given a good overview of of the local sights along with a voucher that gave good discounts for a half dozen restaurants in town. Our room was really comfortable, with a lovely leather style lounge, a table and chairs to eat in if we wished, plus with our room that (despite our best intentions to make use of) a two person spa. But best of all was the really comfortable king size bed! With the comfort of it, and the quiet of the room, we had two really good night's sleep! I highly recommend staying with the Ballarat Best Western Plus!
We had a wonderful stay at the Ballarat Suites in April with a Luxury Escapes Deal. We stayed for 2 nights in a King Spa Suite with breakfast included. The spacious suite was very comfortable and spotless. The spa bath was excellent and the substantial breakfast was well prepared. The hosts Danny and Natalie were very friendly and helpful. We travelled by train to Ballarat and the Suites were very accessible by public transport. We hope to return again to the Best Western Ballarat Suites.
As a frequent traveller it's nice to be able to stay in a warm and welcoming Accommodation. This was a lovely place with great rooms that were spotless with the biggest and best bath towels that were so fluffy. Felt like a king... Will be back again and again.
The room was great and spacious. Bed was really comfortable. Bathroom was great. We enjoyed the spa. Everything was very clean. Only thing that could make the room better is if there was a tv in the bedroom. We will skip breakfast next time. The french toast was great, but my partners eggs benedict was pretty average. We didn't even drink the coffee that they brought us, tasted like warm milk and water.
My husband is a quadriplegic and the room was spacious with plenty of room for all the extra gear we travel with, as well as a king size bed. Very helpful and friendly hosts topped off an excellent experience for us. I highly recommend this motel whether it's in this room or not.
They had everything we needed to ensure a comfortable overnight stay. Clean, spacious rooms and a deep spa bath was brilliant. Service and attention to detail was fantastic. We would definitely stay there again.
The room was very spacious. The breakfasts were wonderful. Despite being busy the rooms were quiet. The children loved being there. The staff were fantastic. Quite helpful. Will certainly be staying there whenever we return to Ballarat.
Our stay at Ballarat Suites was absolutely excellent. The wheelchair accessible room was excellent, I am a C7 Quadriplegic and independent in all my care. There was plenty of space for my commode chair to move around the bedroom & bathroom. Our hosts were wonderful and very helpful in suppling or advising on food etc. Totally recommend anyone to stay here in a chair or not. Hawk & Mandy
Comfortable large room with spa bath. bed comfortable and all very clean. The breakfast was also well cooked and hot.Reception (the own couple,I believe)were very helpful in restaurant selection(a fabulous Japanese one down the street) and touring advice.
We spent our last night of our Great Ocean Road Holiday here. With Sovereign Hill literally across the road, it very well placed. Very well priced, and the rooms being quite modern, we were very happy to spend our last night here. Would highly recommend it for the above mentioned location, and value for money!
Our room at the Best Wester Plus at Ballarat was without doubt one of the best rooms we have had the pleasure of using and we have been travelling for a very long time. Beautiful décor, very modern bathroom with 2 hand basins and a large walk in shower. My favourite feature was a Magnolia Little Gem planted outside our window against a wall for privacy. This window had 2 blinds for privacy, one with a light filter and the other with total blockout. The effect achieved was a living picture! The owner operators were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a delightful stay.
Loved the hospitality. We were so well taken care off. THe staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. We loved the spa in the room and the rooms were so spacious too. The area was quiet and we both had the best sleep
Very fresh, modern, clean and well appointed. We stayed in a King Suite, and the room was great. Although on a fairly main road, very close to Sovereign Hill, there was no road noise, even though we had the window open all night. A 24 hour convenience store next door for any emergencies (or midnight snacks). Discount vouchers to local eateries and experiences were an added bonus. Recommend this one!
Clean modern and functional at a very reasonable price. Very comfortable. Good dining options nearby (within walking distance). Very convenient to Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum. Highly recommended.
A great place to stay in Ballarat close to Sovereign hill and not far from the city centre. Spacious, well appointed rooms with excellent decor. If you are looking for a wheelchair accessible room I have rarely found one better.
All perfect! Can't wait stay with them again. Friendly staff and comfort room! Bathroom is quite big and even with a spa bath. Bed is really comfortable. Lot of yummy restaurants next to this hotel. Just perfect, I will stay there again next travel to Ballarat.
The Best Western is in a great location close to sovereign Hill we walked accross for the light and sound show. We walked to the main street for shopping. Also close for food for lunch and dinner. we took a taxi to the train station for a trip into Melbourne, Our breakfast was also a great start to the day.
Whether you go to Ballarat for a break, work or visit Sovereign Hill, this motel is an ideal destination. The room was large and contained a very comfortable king size bed. Other furniture included a couch, table and chairs and desk. Wifi was free which made communication easy. A plus was the window, on the back wall, with a small garden outside thus allowing fresh air in the unit. The surprise was the size of the bathroom...a walk in shower with a large overhead shower rose, a long bench with two basins. One half of the wardrobe contained the fridge, a toaster, cutlery, glasses etc with another added bonus a sink! This motel is located in walking distance of a range of restaurants that would satisfy any diner. Breakfast arrived promptly and contained a good size serve. The staff were pleasant and welcoming.
Spa suite was spot on ,all amenities catered for ,quiet suite, lovely king size comfy bed, good linen. Owners on site were very knowledgable about all things Ballarat. Extremely well run suites. Will definately stay again.
Wonderful experience staying at the Best Western with a group of friends who have known each other for over 40 years. Rooms were clean, well appointed and welcoming. The Motel is situated in a great position to access all that Ballarat offers. Very professional and friendly staff.
From first enquiry to our arrival and departure the Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites staff were better than first class. Our visit to Ballarat was primarily to spend as much time as possible at Sovereign Hill and be able leave the car and walk everywhere and this location could not have been better with everything a pleasant stroll. The variety of restaurants and food outlets which included Japanese, Chinese, Italian and of course Australian cuisine was very welcome. The suites are spotlessly clean with everything necessary for a quiet, comfortable and peaceful stay. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
We stayed in a spa suite. It was very spacious, huge bed and spa! Service was excellent and easy. Only draw back I found was the exhaust fan for the shower didn't Work great for the size room. But over all, a very good room and price.
Great welcome at check in. Room was large and comfortable with separate living 'room', bedroom and enormous bathroom. Bed supremely comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Kitchen had fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave as well as cutlery and crockery. Wifi worked well too. The location, out of town, was great for Sovereign Hill but not great if you want to eat out and have a drink unless you want to use a taxi I was really surprised by Ballarat and, in hindsight, I wish I had spent another day he to explore rather than go to the Great Ocean Road
Couldn't fault the check-in service or the facilities but.....was disappointed we were allocated an upstairs room on arrival when we had specifically requested a downstairs room when booking two months earlier (& notwithstanding Managers apologies, we had to live with this allocation)
Myself and my wife stayed in this lovely motel last week. We found the room spotless the bed comfortable and a fantastic breakfast delivered to your room. There is also a huge shower. The motel is located directly opposite Sovereign Hill. There is also a couple of lovely restaurants within walking distance. Japanese and Chinese. Totally recommend.
We stayed for three nights at this establishment in a ground floor spar suite and enjoyed our stay. The Suite was comfortable, well laid out and had all the facilities to ensure a successful stay. The only down side was the lack of draw storage which meant living our of a suitcase. The management were very helpful and near by restaurants were great.
My husband, 7 years old daughter and I stayed here from 25.3.16 - 27.3.16. The rooms were quite large for a hotel room and easily accommodated the fold out bed that our daughter used. The hotel is pretty new so there were not issues with anything being worn or needing updating. The room was very clean, staff were friendly. The location was great for a visit to Sovereign Hill, walking distance just up the street a bit. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and happily stay there again when we next visit Ballarat.
would not hesitate to recommend. will definately be staying there again. The motel is very centrally located with easy access to all the attractions around Ballarat. The owners or managers are an extremely friendly and hospitable operators. Communication with the motel prior to booking was excellent and all queries were answered promptly and courteously.
This is the only place I stay when in Ballarat. Large and very modern rooms, beautiful bathrooms and so much space. King beds I found the snack menu when working very good. Free parking and interent and great staff
A new Motel with excellent rooms (ours had a deep plunge double spa bath), optional room service for breakfast with a number a quality dining options nearby. It is also only a couple of hundred metres from the Sovereign Hill Historic Park and Gold Museum. Would stay here again if visiting Ballarat. The road out front can get quite busy with incidental traffic noise, especially at peak periods.
Stayed at the Best Western for one night recently during a road trip. Found the rooms to be lovely and big and very clean. Gentleman at the reception was friendly and helpful and advised us on different restaurants in the area. The only issue I had was after using the spa bath, there was a lot of dirt and sediment lying on the base of it after the water drained (certainly a lot more than I would normally expect to see after a bath!!). Can only assume that the dirt was coming out of the jets and circulating round through the water. I actually felt a bit sick when I saw it all. Spoiled what really could have been a very pleasant stay.
Our recent stay at Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites was a very pleasant one. Our room was towards the back of the property on the ground floor. It had everything we needed - a comfortable bed, kitchenette which we used for breakfasts and coffees. The spa bath was an added bonus - so relaxing. The location is about a five minute drive from the main streets of Ballarat and opposite Sovereign Hill. The owners were very friendly and helpful, particularly when suggesting places to dine at.
This is the second Best Western we have stayed in out of a current total of 14 hotels this trip. So we are now no strangers to what this part of Australia has to offer. This hotel is up their with the best. The welcome was warm, the room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The bed was large and comfy. The shower is one of the best ever. Would recommend this hotel. The town is about 2km away and a real gem. From the botanical gardens to the lake to the shops/restaurants it is a real treat! We will visit here again when we have more time.
Great place to stay close to sovereign Hill, restaurants, shops and lake. Quiet motel to stay at, friendly servi ce and very clean. Stayed there before and would go back again. We went for a weekend break away.
Rooms were large, modern and clean. Well located for visits to Sovereign Hill. If stairs are an issue be sure to request a ground level room as the stairs are quite steep to wrangle your luggage up and down. Room service breakfast was also quite generous.
We made a last minute change to our itinerary so that we could visit Sovereign Hill and wanted accommodation close by, this motel fitted our needs precisely. When we arrived we met by the friendly and enthusiastic manager who dealt with us speedily and efficiently. The rooms were well furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our at the time requested. It ticked all our boxes. We
Although this is by no means luxury, it was super close to Sovreign Hill (the reason we visited Ballarat) - almost across the road - and the room was very clean and well kept. It had more of a Motel kind of setup - from an American perspective - but was very pleasant and convenient. The windows opened so fresh air was a nice option, there was a little kitchenette area with a kettle, the bathroom was a little more sparse in terms of what I'm used to but again, all was working, all was clean and well maintained. The front desk was also very friendly and helpful with any tourist related requests, and parking is literally outside your door.
Rooms are spacious, well maintained, very clean & comfortable. Missed the fact that no onsite restaurant meant I had to go elsewhere for dinner. It seemed to be a busy night as there was no parking available on site & I parked in the side street (not a major problem). Downside is the road noise, my room was on the side street side of the property & the noise was noticeable in the early evening & morning.
We stayed here on a Friday & Saturday night due to an event on the Saturday. We stayed in a spa suite & I can't say enough good things. Really friendly & simple check-in, well appointed room with a nice living are & small kitchenette. We loved that the bedroom was separate with an ensuite. The spa bath was lovely & the japanese deep style was unusual & a lovely touch. King size bed was just what we neeeded both nights & was very comfortable. A quick drive into town & lovely asian reataurants within walking distance from the location. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Ballarat.
Easy access to hotel, also close to town. Did not experience the restaurant as it was closed on Sunday evening but there are a lot of restaurants around at walking distance. The pedal boats access are also at walking distance from the hotel location. Would recommend this hotel to my friends. Thanks for the hospitality.
Perfect to just drive in , enjoy a great size spa, sleep, eat and drive out again!y Superbly maintained room and lovely staff. Separate bedroom and very big, sparkling bathroom with huge spa and walk in shower .
Hospitally was wonderfull, the rooms fantastic, spacious and very clean. The location was perfect for our requirements and very easy to get into town. I would highly recommend staying at Best Western Ballarat. The fees were very reasonable. Thank you
stayed three nights room was very clean staff were great would stay here again and lots to see in Ballarat booked a king size room with spa wished we could of stayed longer looked forward to going back again
Was pleasantly surprised by the level of luxury, competence and pleasant atmosphere of the complex. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, sophisticated and affordable abode for the short term.
We were happy with most aspects of this accommodation: big room, air conditioning, kitchenette, excellent breakfasts, friendly host, convenient location, very clean. the down side would have to be the furnishings in the sitting area and the lack of drawers in the bedroom. A comfortable couch and chair are minimum requirements for a 4-star rating I would have thought and these were not provided. Several eating houses are in close proximity, also a service station so the accommodation has many things going for it ,but is not quite "there" yet.
Stayed two nights on our return to Melbourne from Adelaide through the Grampians. The location is perfect for Sovereign Hill as it's only a five minute walk away. We had an executive room which was to a very high standard. The bathroom had a large rain shower along with a 'his & her's' sinks and for the first time in a dozen or more motels over the last two and a half weeks, the were 'mixer taps'!. The room was very large as was the bed (at least six foot) and very comfortable. There was a separate kitchen area set in the wardrobe with sink, microwave, toaster and kettle as well as a small fridge. There was a large LCD TV plus table and chairs. The WiFi was quick and free and the air-conditioning efficient and quiet. The lighting was adjustable and the very latest LCD variety. I can't praise this motel highly enough.
Lovely big room with microwave, toaster, kettle, tv & dvd player. The only thing missing were drawers to put clothes into. The bathroom had a large shower & 2 sinks. Located opposite Sovereign Hill. Lovely location.
Thank you guys,my son and I had a great stay it was very clean and very friendly staff/owners. We were asked what we were up to, they explained all the attractions and gave us directions. My son asked if we could come back.
We have stayed here quite a few times. Disappointed in the bed this time though. Could not fault cleanliness or service. Excellent location for our occasion in Mt Helen and close enough to city for shopping. A few eating venues are within walking distance, as well as an Apco service station.
My wife & I stayed one night while travelling from Adelaide to Ballarat. The property is quite new and the motel room was large with all our needs. The bathroom had two sinks, which was an added plus and a large shower with ceiling shower head. There was no bath but that didn't worry us.
We stayed in an Executive Suite for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ballarat. The room was exactly as advertised, very clean, modern and spacious. Not only were there double basins in the bathroom, but a handy kitchenette as well. The location is especially convenient for Sovereign Hill, but also an excellent base for touring the city and wider area. Highly recommended.
Nice clean modern rooms. Good to stay in a hotel that doesn't have mould in the bathroom. Opened the door and you can smell the cleanliness. People complained about hearing cars going past on the road, big deal, not that bad. Most important, nice people running the show.
had a car trailer & was impressed with effort made by managers to help & have it parked inside the fence great rooms etc ate at the Japanese down the road that is also very impressive only suggestion would be to have some larger water glasses
Stayed here 2 nights for work and it is absolutely the best place I've stayed in Ballarat. Modern, very clean motel with fantastic bathroom with huge rain shower and double vanity. Comfy king bed, microwave, kettle and toaster. Owners very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay again!
Beautifully finished very spacious rooms. Not at all typical for a roadside motel. Very comfortable bed. Great location for Buniyong, Sovereign hill or Ballarat city. Next to a bike trial to the federation university.
The room was well appointed and clean the spa bath was a great size and the staff were very helpful and friendly but the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable overall a great place to stay and would definitely stay there again
We both found this accommodation comfortable and clean. Central to all places in town and easy access whether coming from Melbourne or Geelong. Would stay there again. Breakfast was a little on the pricey side but enjoyable just the same. Close to take ways and some very nice restaurants as well
My friend and I book the rooms together and we get a connected room. The rooms are spacious and value for money. Walking distance to Sovereign Hill and Gold Museum. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. There are Coles and Woolworth but a few minutes drive needed.
If you are going to Sovereign Hill you simply have to stay here, BEST WESTERN PLUS Ballarat Suites is walking distance to Sovereign Hill and to two restaurants what more do you need. The room is up to date with all the modern appliances, quiet and breakfast to your room. Good job guys.
My friend and I book the rooms together and we get a connected room. Kids love it. The rooms are spacious and value for money. Definitely will book the same place again. Walking distance to Sovereign Hill.
Hubby and myself with our 4 yr old stayed for a night to check out Sovereign Hill. Location is very close that you can easily walk. Check in was a breeze. We booked a deluxe suite with a spa bath (a deep one) that we all enjoyed. Room looks very neat and new. Bed was comfy enough and we all had a good night sleep.
My husband and I stayed here last November. The staff were simply wonderful, our room was clean and well decked out and the in-room breakfasts were delicious. The owners gave us great advice in regards to places to visit and restaurants to dine at. It was a wonderful weekend away. We will be back. Highly recommend it!
Stayed here for one night & found the suit to be nice, clean and comfortable. The location is great right across the road from Sovereign Hill and not far from the town centre. Would have liked a TV in the bedroom also.
I went for one night but the service was fantastic! The rooms were clean and close to everything my son and i needed! The breakfast that came with the package was what a breakfast would be. fruit, yoghurt, toast and cereal with coffee for me and juice for my son it was worth every cent i paid for! I would definitely go again!!
We found the rooms to be rather gloomy and we needed a light on, even during the day. Breakfast was generous and we enjoyed cooked or continental. We visited a local Japanese restaurant (Kambei) which was in walking distance and the food and service was excellent - highly recommended.
The room was spacious and comfortable. I like the provision of mini-kitchen with microwave. Lunch was served in the room. May be the only set back was the hotel is located close to the main road and affected by the noise. Definitely will consider it on the next visit.
Great room, modern and well appointed. Excellent service. Mobile reception on the room was poor but the free wifi compensated for that. Close to Sovereign Hill and city centre. The room was well appointed, clean and spacious. Room service breakfast arrived on time and was value for money. I will be staying there again
Found the staff very welcoming & willing to offer more help if needed. Rooms are fitted out well, modern looking décor & one of the best showers in all of my travels. Breakfast delivered to your room is a real winner when you have a busy day ahead. Will be back on next visit into this area.
We decided at the last minute to book into the Best Western suites and we were not disappointed. Very clean and a large room, bathroom was awesome would recommend staying here if ever in Ballarat. The family that looked after us were ever so nice, although we never ordered room service for breakfast I was very impressed when they bring your breakfast to the room that they wait until someone opens the door and not put it through a opening in the wall.
When i arrived the Gent at the check in desk was very friendly and had no issue with checking in a bit early. Rooms were spacious and as new (Nov 2015), and exceptionally clean. Was away from the main shops etc. Would highly recommend.
Its a perfect place tp relax in sucluded an very quiet an overall great experience please tale time to head to ballarat an check it out its worth it. Thanx best western i had a great time an a really great night
My husband and I took advantage of a week-end package offered by this motel and were so pleased we did. Natalie is such a lovely and accommodating host. They even have complimentary apples at reception and discount coupons for local restaurants. We took advantage of the recommendation to eat at the Japanese Restaurant a short walk away and were not disappointed. Like all other reviews, I am happy to say that the rooms are spacious and spotless. If you are travelling to Sovereign Hill this would be an ideal place to stay. To travel to the town centre you will need a car. Overall we had a wonderful time.
We stayed at the Best Western Ballarat as a package deal to get away for the weekend. This can prove extremely difficult with young children but management were so accommodating. Bedding for the sofa was waiting on our arrival, recommendations on where to eat with kids, breakfast for 4 included without hesitation and when they heard we would be visiting the Ballarat Wildlife Park a free voucher for personalised photo opportunity with an animal (this turned out to be an amazing experience). I couldn't recommend our stay highly enough. Thank you.
The location of the motel is just perfect. A very short drive to the city cantre. Very convenient with easy walking distance to nearby restaurants. The rooms were very large, clean and comfortable and best of all sheltered from traffic noise. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and we will RETURN!
this newish hotel is situated in the sovereign hill district so you will need a car.The rooms are hugh and have been refurbed recently so you are garenteed a good nights sleep.Although there is no restuarent the rooms are well equipted with microvave electric kettle mini fridge crockery etc so youcan visit the 24 hour garage next door for basics and there are restuarents within minites walking we would stay again
i choose to stay at best western plus ballarat ,because the rooms are always spotless and the owners cannot do enough to make you feel like your at home, very nice people , highly recommend.Location is close to all types of amenities, food and entertainment, very family friendly.
We had a great time at Best Western Plus at Ballarat, the rooms were very clean & comfortable, perfect for an extended stay. Location was terrific, directly opposite Sovereign Hill. Staff, friendly & helpful.
This is a well positioned and handy located property, if you are wanting to visit the attractions of Ballarat and surrounds, very convenient and within easy walking distance to restaurants and other places of interest, or a short drive to most other areas whist maintaining a quick though comfortable environment, I would highly recommend that property for its cleanliness, well appointed rooms and friendly and not intrusive staff. Thank you
We really enjoyed our 4 nights at Best Western Ballarat. Danny & Natalie were helpful and informative. The room was modern, very spacious and comfortable. Not much shelving space for clothes though. Perhaps replace the bedside tables with a more usable item? We would happily stay there again.
The bed was great, but the best part was the awesome Japanese Plunge bath that we could both sit comfortably in with foot room ! The staff gave us great tips on where to eat and we had a really relaxing overnight get-away!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights, we travel a fair bit and wasn't really expecting anything flash. We were very surprised and happy when we walked in! The room was spacious and VERY VERY VERY CLEAN!! which is a huge thing for me, I often find myself complaining about the cleanness especially of showers, this shower was spotless! Not one spec of grime! We also had breakfast with out stay, great food and really nice to have it delivered! Lovely owners, 100% worth a stay!
The accommodation and service was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very welcoming, and even managed to give us the two single beds we needed in our king spa suite. They had a really sound knowledge of the area and they could recommend places to see and travel. They even looked up ticket prices and opening hours on the computer just as a courtesy. I'd love to visit again.
Went there for the a long weekend with my wife and had a fantastic time. The rooms were very clean and well presented and the food was awesome. A bonus being so close to sovereign hill as well. If recommend it to anyone going to Ballarat
Great accommodation. Very central location easy to get to various restaurants and sovereign hill. Spacious, extremely clean and tidy. Even had a complimentary gluten free cookie. That made my day! Parking a little tight but street parking available.
We stayed here and as my husband is in a wheelchair the disabled room is excellent. We found the room to be clean and comfortable and it had everything you need for a wonderful stay. Danny and Natalie were great to deal with very helpful with any thing you needed, as we had trouble getting accommodation on the weekend they went above and beyond to help us and let us stay a extra night which we are very grateful. Would highly recommend staying here as the rooms are clean and modern and the service is first class Thank you for a great stay
Excellent location if you are wanting to spend the day at Sovereign hill and handy if going to their night show. We stayed in room 4 and it was lovely, modern and very clean. I loved the huge bath so luxurious. Good wifi (free and actually worked!! Yay). The staff were also really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The only minor let down was the couch, a tiny hard leather two seater so you couldn't stretch out and relax. Get a nice soft couch in there and it would be perfect other than that small issue great value for money.
A modern new hotel offering a very roomy and comfortable room decorated in black and white. A small dining table allows options for takeaway meals and breakfast is available. The hotel is directly opposite Sovereign Hill. This will become our favourite accommodation in Ballarat!
This motel was extremely well located to Sovereign Hill and wasn't that far from the centre of Ballarat. I would recommend staying as the rooms were spacious with all the facilities you required. The staff were very helpful nothing was too much bother. We certainly will stay with them again
Great location Excellent hotel around the spot and at the right price reception was awesome Room was excellent and well maintained Very quiet and servo right next door Also had close place for eating.
First time staying here but would come again Good location nice and quite Great place great location and great service Staff were very friendly Highly recommend this motel as it was good value for money
Good place to sleep near the the old minery Place. Fine rooms- freindly woorkers and god for telleing about the place and waht is wounderfull too se. Heigh qualiti off the room give a very good sleep. Se you another time. Best Regarrds from the Vikings off Denmark
Ballarat Suites accomodation was so comfortable just like the other times we have stayed here. There are new owners and we were still made welcome and any needs taken care of. This Motel has great proximity to all we needed, extremely clean and very well kept. A short drive into the City Center. This place is our go to in Ballarat. ps Hugh shower / bathrooms and comfortable large beds
We stayed at the Best Western Plus Ballarat Suites as we had a Wedding Reception to attend at the Mercure Hotel and Reception Centre just 200 metres away. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed; very quiet and everything we asked for. Breakfast was well worth the extra payment and served on time in the Room.
Luxurious and comfortable rooms! Exceptionally clean and neat and the people were seriously amazing and of course very helpful and accommodating. An exceptionally well run establishment! Will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
Had a fantastic stay here on my way driving interstate. Rooms were modern, luxurious and very spacious. If I have only 2 complaints, they are very minor. The parking is a little tight and it would be nice if the rooms had a bit more of an outdoor space. Aside from that however, its fantastic.
Room was excellent. Location opposite Sovereign Hill was very convenient. Parking was tight and was difficult to exit onto Main Road during peak hour. Spa bath was large but took a lot of water to fill - conscious of environment,
Great motel for overnight or weekend stay. The room was very clean and modern, beds were comfortable. I would've liked to have tried the amazing looking spa but did not have time to use it. The owner was very helpful and friendly.
We stayed in the King spa room very spacious neat, clean and quiet.Bed was comfy geat value for money staff where friendly and hepful close and handy to everything .Will recommend to all family and friends. Will stay here again.
Best Western Plus Ballarat; the hosts were friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable: loved the bathroom with overhead shower and doubl vanity. The TV was not high quality(we stayed in a Best Western Plus previously and the TV was much better) and the wifi was a weak signal and dropped out often.
Perfect place to stay if you are visiting Sovereign Hill. Very clean room and great breakfast .(best crispy bacon ever). We had an upstairs room which we preferred despite the climb. Rooms are very quiet. We would recommend it to anyone.
I have stayed here on a regular basis over the past two years and should have written this a long time ago. Close to town, right near Sovereign Hill, easily accessible, very friendly hosts and staff, huge rooms, always very clean, spacious and well appointed bathrooms and great value for money. Nothing worse than being away for business and stuck in a small box- not here.
Visited on business trip and was very impressed with this wonderful Best Western. Great Friendly Staff, Fantastic Breakfast to your room, Nice Clean rooms and very modern. Great Location with free parking available and within walking distance of Sovereign Hill Museum
We stayed in an interconnecting suite and for a young family of six it was perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend! Location is perfect if you're planning to go to Souvereign Hill as it's just across the road.
Very clean rooms, comfortable size rooms and comfortable bed. Friendly staff very accommodating, great location not even 5 from city centre and enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend to family and friends. Only downside no swimming pool.
We needed somewhere to stay while travelling to Melbourne and everytime we had previously been to Ballarat this Best Western had been fully booked. This time we were lucky and we were able to get the family suite (2 adjoining rooms). The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. It was just what we needed and we found the hosts very friendly and helpful. Room service and breakfast was exactly as promised and we would happily stay again.
Wonderful clean room and exceptionally wonderful owners who make you feel right at home. Were more than happy to accommodate to any extra requests we had. Ideal location and beautiful property. Highly recommed. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Very friendly hosts who make you feel at home. Spotless unit with a spacious room and bathroom that is fantastic!! Close to Sovereign hill and a great Japanese restaurant that was recommended by hosts. Highly recommend.
Quiet (actually soundproofed, as stated) spacious, modern, clean, courteous staff - couldn't fault it. (Except, when are motels, not just this one, going to get into the 'low fat' milk option?) :-) ...
We stayed two nights at Best Western Ballarat Suites and were very happy with our stay. The room was modern, clean and comfortable, and the linen in good condition. The motel was full when we stayed but I don't recall hearing our neighbours and, despite the motel's location on a main road, no traffic noise reached our room. I have to also mention the manager who was super helpful, with lots of great recommendations (places to eat etc) - it helped make our stay in Ballarat even better. PS: The motel is walking distance to Sovereign Hill which is great!
My son and I travelled to Ballarat for a mini holiday. We spent 3 nights here and we're delighted with everything. The friendly greeting we got on arrival, the tips for places to eat and entertainment, all before we got to our room. Then, in the room, clean and comfortable. The Japanese tub was an extra luxury that made my sons eyes pop. Beds were comfy, temperature controls were easy. Lots of fresh clean towels, they even smelt good! Happy to return here soon with the rest of the family.
Awesome place that suited our needs...comfort and modern rolled into one. Will definitely stay here again! Service was friendly, breakfast was fresh and ammenities were luxurious! After a long day at dance competitions, it was a pleasure to walk into our room and relax on the king bed!
