    « A very enjoyable stay »

The rooms are a good size, well presented, clean and have modern fittings. The motel offers a good wifi and well lighted parking outside the rooms. The rooms prices fluctuate, and a bargain can be found on tripadvisor for your stay. The accommodation in Albury varies, and a top price does not promise you a good nights sleep. Here is value for money in the top 10 mid ranged motels, and it will not disappoint you. A free mini breakfast of bread, juice and diced fruit only, us Aussies like our cereals. However there are great Cafe's for a hearty breakfast within walking distance

« Beautiful surroundings. Great hosts. »

Albury is quite a beautiful country city (is that an oxymoron???). They have been able to preserve a larger amount of their historic buildings than is usual in Australian towns. Simply stunning 19th century large homes abound and they have also retained most of the vegetation which means that there are mature gardens and trees lining many of the older streets. The Meramie Motor Inn nestles amongst this old-world architecture and gardens. Whilst clearly a modern/ish building the motel benefits from its historic neighbours. Take a leisurely walk around the streets, it's a delight. Very close to the city centre and just a short walk (if you fancy) to a large number of restaurants, pubs and cafes. The building is not new and fittings are tiring a little however rooms are well priced, clean and well appointed and everything worked. Hosts, Linda and Ian are an absolute delight and great at what they do. I tried to book for my return journey through Albury however was disappointed to find them totally booked out. I believe there can be no better recommendation than, return business and, being fully booked.

    « Wonderful! »

Our family was exceptionally impressed with our spacious, quiet, clean and well appointed room. The friendly owners went out of their way to allocate the perfect room for us, and we very much enjoyed our stay in comfy beds, with everything we needed, including crisp white sheets, fluffy white towels, loads of space for dining and ?kicking back', good TV, free wi-fi, air-con and lots more. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the pool is crystal clear, warm, well shaded and surrounded by lovely green plants and tasteful furniture. There is also a spa and sauna, and even a mini ?park' on site, under large shady trees, with seating for gatherings of family and friends. We can honestly say this is the top pick of accommodation we've had during our extended summer holiday. Highly recommended!

    « Light breakfast - Added bonus »

We had the upstairs bedroom. Clean and quiet. Reasonable priced. The room we were in had a double bed and a single bed. So it was spacious for the two of us. Everything you need is in the kitchenette except the stove. Internet was excellent. The light breakfast left in the fridge was an added bonus as we didn't know that was included when we booked. The motel is about 5 minutes walk to the city centre. Service was good and very friendly.

« Great service, friendly, clean & large room »

Friendly hosts who were very helpful with needs for a toddler. Great location, refreshing dip in the pool after a long drive and large comfortable room! Loved the toast and fruit left in the fridge. Will stay again on our drive through.

« Great place for a stop over »

On our way from Sydney to Melbourne we stopped at Albury overnight. We stayed st the Best Western, great place. Nice, very clean family rooms, great pool, hot tub and sauna. Very friendly family owners and a walk to the Main Street Highly recommend. Ask for a room without a interconnecting door they are a bit noisy if you have people Skyping relatives in Bali @ 6am in the next room.

« Couldn't wish to meet nicer people »

Stopped over on our way to Sydney at short notice and couldn't help but be impressed with owners Linda and Ian. Nothing a problem, room Spick and Span,Air Con on in room on arrival, light breakfast supplied and a more than affordable price for a one night stay. Highly recommend

    « Stopover »

A little bit dated but clean and quiet. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette well equipped. The bathroom defenetly needs a strong restoration. A light breakfast is included in the rate. Free self parking. Being a motor inn, there's no elevator so, in case you have heavy luggages, reserve a room on the ground floor. Basic toiletries included. A good stay.

    « Friendly Clean Stopover »

Stopped here on our way to Gold Coast. The room was big, beds comfy with good pillows and fresh linen & big bathroom. Only negative was the pool had lots of leaves & bugs so our son was not keen to swim. Management were very friendly & there's a pub a short walk around the corner for dinner. We recommend for a stopover as very reasonable price with a light breakfast included.

    5
    « Friendly Staff »

The room was big & clean. It had a kitchen & a big clean bathroom. The swimming pool was well maintained and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

    « Friendly owners »

What a wonderful stay! Linda, Ian & Brook were so lovely & welcoming, always smiling & happy to help with any requests. The room was spotless & gent that did the cleaning was so polite & friendly. My room was really spacious and very comfortable. It was great having a continental breakky already provided in the room. I will definitely be back again! Thank you so much for a great week!

« Great price great location »

Great location walking distance to clubs pubs and restaurants, the rooms are large clean and comfortable, and very well priced, you have a small kitchenette complete with microwave, good size TV, the hosts are friendly and helpful,so it is a very pleasant place to stay.

    « Great place! »

For what we needed, a quick stopover, this place was really nice. It was clean, large and accommodated the 4 of us easily. The host was really nice and a simple breakfast is included. We will be staying there again.

    « Friendly Spacious Stopover »

We have stayed here a few times now and the Meramie has become our Motel of choice when in Albury. The rooms are clean and a generous size with table and chairs provided. Also there is a small couch which makes it nice not having to use the bed for all relaxation. A complimentary juice and toast with spreads is provided which adds a nice touch. Several of our visits have coincided with a major event in Albury as well as quieter times and the service provided has been excellent and consistent. Would recommend this Motel.

    4
« Nice rooms and a great location. »

Located within walking distance of the clubs and restaurants, the motel is well suited for exploring the main shopping centre of Albury. The motel rooms are clean and well maintained and a good price if booked thru TripAdvisor. Wifi is available and strong. Well worth considering.

    5
« Great value rooms and great customer service »

Customer service here is great. The room was spacious and very clean and the bed was comfortable and heating worked great, wifi was strong and fast. I left my own pillow here and they were kind enough to let me know and post it back to me. Will definitely be staying here whenever I'm in Albury from here on.

    « Comfortable Stay »

Really glad to get this accommodation at 9:30 pm on a freezing June night. The room we stayed in was very neat and clean and very comfortable. Allan the manager was very friendly and accomodating. Would highly recommend this place.

« Very pleasant stay, worth a return visit »

Three of us stayed overnight in the queen room + single room apartment to break a Canberra to Melbourne drive. Quiet location, nice and clean, brilliant beds, and all fixtures worked fine. Yes, the decor is a bit (or more) 1990s and some of the carpentry is worn; but I don't get upset by small signs of age when I'm sleeping that well. The location is as good as others have reported and our brief interaction with the staff was very pleasant. The toast, jam and packaged fruit breakfast is basic but adequate if you want it. We liked the stay very much and we'd stay again.

« Very comfortable; reasonable tariff; good location; friendly management »

We have stayed at this motel several times now, and it never disappoints. The beds are very comfortable, the unit is clean and a continental breakfast is available in your room. On check-in you are given some fresh milk for your tea. The unit has a reverse cycle heater/ac both of which you need in Albury. There is also a microwave, toaster and kettle. The tariff is extremely reasonable, and they have a pool on site as well. We would recommend it to anyone.

« Global Reservations staff fib? »

When I phoned the 1300 number which gets diverted to the U.S the clerk said the motel was booked out but there was one room available in another BW in town which was more expensive. Then, I looked on line with an agency booking website to find there were three rooms vacant. When I complained on line the BW replied writing that they only have so many rooms and the others are taken up by hotel websites. Here's what really happened: The reservations clerk was being bullied into getting potential guests to spend more than necessary. The room was neat and clean. But after calling the receptionist I could get the heating to work. We are on the cusp of winter. It looked like an air-conditioned to me. The shower screen wouldn't close properly. There was a fixed rubber doorstop in the way, so you had to leave it open. Tea and toast is free, but you can order breakfast the night before at a reasonable price.

    4
    « A quiet motel in a good location »

The motel is located close to the centre of Albury, but it is in a very quiet location. The room was large, with a separate kitchenette stocked with some breakfast food. The main downside was the old bathroom that was in need of a complete makeover.

    4
    « Trains first convention »

Had a model train convention in Geelong to attend and needed to break up the trip so we stopped in Albury for the night. The Hotel had space for our 4 wheel drive and the 12foot trailer, they were very welcoming and the room was clean and tidy with Tea and coffee, we had a good night sleep.

    4
    « Good value »

Friendly staff, great pool with shade, crystal clear, light breakfast is thrown in. Free wifi is good and the speed was not bad..only issue was finding the hotel as the sign was hidden by a tree when travelling towards town centre. I would stay there again

    4
« Close to city and restaurants »

I have stayed here on numerous business trips to Albury and always find the accomodation neat, tidy, clean and with a light breakfast supplied free of charge. It is a close walk to the Manhattan bar and restaurant and the main shopping area. The owners are always friendly. There is also free wifi.

    3
    « Better value Around »

When booking I thought it Said Continental Breakfast, Obvious I got it wrong. The motel Is very clean with a lovely hot shower, but it is a basic 3 star motel with very average beds, we both struggled to get a good night sleep. So having stayed in hundredsof hotels in Aus & around the world, even 4 motels in Albury, thereis better value for money around. The Breakfast they provide is in the fridge on your arrival, 4 slices of wholemeal bread in a container, 2 popper juice. 2 no added sugar supermarket peach in syrup snack packs, 4 butter serves & vegimite & jam in single serve. The normal in room tea & coffee. At least it was the semi healthy option. If you want a ground floor room, go for rooms 1-14 , 15 up is upstairs. The motel is reasonabley close to the centre if you don't mind a walk.

    4
« Lovely, friendly and affordable »

This was a lovely and affordable place to stay on our stopover from Melbourne to Sydney. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the price included a light breakfast. Would definitely stay again:)

    4
« Good for short or long stay. »

We stopped at this motel while travelling to and from Canberra. The rooms are large, but a bit dated but this does not affect your stay. The pool has chairs around it and a shade cloth sun screen. Breakfast supplied was small cartons of orange juice and fruit, also bread for toast. Although we only stayed one night in each direction it would be suitable for a longer stay.

    5
« Quiet and well placed »

Staying at the Meramie motor inn was a pleasant experience. The owners were friendly and room clean and tidy. Having your continental breakfast provided in the room was great and allowed you to have breakfast when you wanted it. The location was easy to reach from the freeway and quiet. Around the corner was a hotel where an evening meal could be obtained.

    « Great Spot »

This is a great place to stay while visiting Albury, the units are a bit older but they are clean and the beds are comfy. The staff are fabulous. I stayed here on business then brought the family back the following weekend and we were upgraded to the large family suite. Great value for money and close to town.

    5
« So friendly and clean »

Great to be able to stay somewhere that you are treated as a person and can hold a conversation. Bed was really comfortable, I was concerned it may be noisy as most motels are, but to me delight I didn't hear any traffic and the room was as clean as a whistle :-) Thanks and I'll be back!!

    4
« Good Place to break the trip »

This motel is a bit dated but the staff are friendly, the rooms are large and the bed is comfortable which are the main requirements to break the trip from Sydney to Melbourne. There is also a flat screen TV. It is an easy walk down to Dean Street with the shops, clubs and restaurants. The included breakfast was a bit ordinary and I would take my own breakfast next time.

    5
    « Another work stay »

I stayed here while away with work on Conference. Rooms were large and comfortable. A little dated, but it has everything you need. Only a short walk to main street. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and so was the motel cat that snuggled up for a cuddle. A great stay all in all.

    4
    « Very good stay »

Traveling from Eden to Melbourne and stopped one night to visit son in Albury. This hotel had excellent location for us - right across street from son and walking distance to main street. Room was so warm on very cold night. So pleased with that. Beds were comfortable. Nice little kitchenette area with all that's required. Bathroom shower huge with lots of hot water and great water pressure. Bathroom little dated. Shower leaked onto floor making it slippery and no hair dryer (maybe I needed to just ask for one). Overall very happy with our room and stay. AND would stay again.

    4
    « Albury NSW »

Lady at reception explained everything in a nice friendly manner. Explained the breakfast situation which was very acceptable to us. All that we required. Air Conditioner may need a service. All in all happy with accommodation. Reception was unable to provide printout for Best Western reward points as computer is out - dated,so I was advised.

    5
« Motel which is no less than a hotel »

Stayed there for couple days. Nice and good size room, clean and had every essential things. Motel was close to cafes. We have enjoyed our stay there and will stay there again should we ever visit Albury again :)

    3
« Overnight visit to Albury »

Bed was comfortable, but the room was sparse and unwelcoming; location was fine - convenient walking distance to cafes and department store; Most basic needs catered for, but the premises were tired and needing brightening up; management friendly and efficient.

    3
« Clean, centrally located and quiet. »

Fair sized but dated room. Queen sized bed with nice linen, Good sized television and free WiFi. Little kitchenette with fridge and microwave - did appreciate the free light continental breakfast. Original bathroom with a very large shower recess. No heating in bathroom so its pretty chilly in the morning! Parking at front of unit. No discernible noise leakage from other rooms. With the hotel not on a main street their was minimal traffic noise which does bedevil many Albury Motels. Polite and efficient service. Room was very clean. The motel is walking distance to Dean Street. Not a bad option - worthy of consideration.

    5
    « Hotel Motel »

I stayed just two night's in the Meramie Motel in Kiewa street Albury in Febuary and i was very impressed with the spacious room and good sized bathroom it was very clean and the host's were very friendly and helpful, close to all the attraction's in Albury Mama Albury's newest hip art gallery. Walking distance to restaurant's bar's and cafes.

« near enough to the centre of town and far enough to be quiet! »

A friendly, clean place, within walking distance from the Albury CBD, this place hasplenty going for it, not the least the management who were helpful in every respect. We'd recommend it for a night's stay or longer.

    4
« Good for Overnight Stay »

We stayed here on our way to Sydney for the weekend. The room was clean and it had a small kitchen with a microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. There is a small sink with both hot and cold water. Breakfast was included in the price and the breakfast consisted of a small tub of fruit, and bread for toast along with butter, jam and vegemite. We had wholegrain bread but I am sure if you asked the lady at the reception you would be able to get white bread. The bathroom had an very big shower but the basin had a leaking tap but we mentioned it to the lady when we checked out so I am sure that it would have been fixed. Would recommend this motel and we would again stay here if we were driving to Sydney for a long weekend. It is only a short walk to the main street of Albury so we walked to the Commercial Club for dinner.

    5
    « Great Motel »

Stayed here for a few days for work. The family came and stayed the first night to have a look around the town. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower is huge. The owners are lovely and do everything to ensure your stay is a good one. The pool looks very inviting and there is a spa and sauna. Great location a short stroll from the middle of town. Perfect for your stop over in Albury.

    4
« Great value for money »

Slightly dated but clean tidy and a very friendly welcome. Great touch was the bread butter jam for the light breakfast. Kitchen was equipped with fridge toaster microwave and kettle. Great for families as there was an outside pool. Would stay there again

    4
    « overnight stop »

the rooms are a decent size and very much comfortable. the room i got was a double there was a small fridge and lounge quite warm. shower was massive. overall tidyness of room was excellent i recommend this motel for anyone looking for a quick stop over or a few days in town.

    4
« Spacious and Very clean »

To be completely honest, we were not expecting much from this one night stop while driving to Melbourne - however we were pleasantly surprised. To start with, we called in advance to advise of a late check in and were offered different options which suited us well, even an offer to stay open a little longer to help out - which was very nice and unexpected. Check in was very quick and the everything was clearly explained. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We had the queen bed, single and sofa bed room which was comfortable enough for the one night. Room also had a continental breakfast available for you to prepare yourself in the bar fridge including tea, coffee, bread and condiments. So the highlights are the great service, relatively well priced, spacious enough for 4-5 people and all the little extras you need in the room. Other thoughts - close enough to the city centre and restaurants, don't have any options on the facility other than what is in the fridge, didn't really use the WiFi but there is internet provide as part of the cost of the room, pool is very clean and large enough for the kids to enjoy and plenty of parking right outside the rooms. Things that can't be controlled include noisy neighbours and people smoking on the balcony. Overall would definitely stay again

    5
« Weekend away in Albury »

Perfect location. Wide tree lined streets, old well maintained houses, close to centre of town to walk for shopping and dining. Motel well maintained and customer service excellent. Small glitch was advertised microwave oven in room but not in ours small inconvenience to us. Pool inviting and sauna ok breakfast rather lacking but could purchase cooked breakfast if needed. Rooms large but bed only queen size bit small to us. Would stay at this motel if visiting albury and surrounds again

    3
    « surprise little gem »

We stayed here recently in the disabled room. Not fond of these rooms as shower makes a lot of mess. Just a few things. Sink in bathroom leaked. We were handed two extra towels for shower as can be messy(good thing). Needs a little updating looking old and tired. Room was clean and tidy and well presented but you cant hide dated. Bed comfortable, its at the back of motel so very quiet. Wasn't a bad stay but could have been better. If everything else is booked out or you want close to city choose this one.

    4
« Very good to sleep between Melb/Syd »

We drove from Melbourne to Sydney; 7 hours into the drive (already night time) we stopped to sleep and rose early the next morning. We found this small motel very adequate. The person at the front desk (the owner I think) was very kind- clearly having guests is something he values so that was nice to see. The rooms are very clean, quiet and dark for a good sleep. They even place some fresh milk, juice, toast, jam and butter at no additional cost. I'd recommend this for those staying the night in Albury.

    5
« Comfortable bed and quiet location »

We love staying here as we get a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed with a spacious room. It's always very clean and good water pressure in the shower. It's in a great location well away from the highway and in walking distance to the main street. The owners are friendly and welcoming and I would highly recommend the Meramie to anyone needing a place to stay in Albury. The airconditioner was quiet and efficient which was great as it was a not night.

  • 4
    « Good Night Sleep »

Ive stayed here twice over the past year and find the staff very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and spacious with all amenities provided. The pool area looked great, however we didn't swim. Central location and very close to the main street. The hotel is in a beautiful leafy area of Albury, pleasant to go for a walk around. The 'complimentary breakfast' Is one piece of toast per person (two people in a room) with a juice box each. Not my idea of a good breakfast. The pieces of bread were hard and looked as if they had been stored in the fridge for a long time. The price of this hotel is not great, but neither is most hotels in Albury anyway. Kitchen/Bathroom are in good general condition but are very outdated.

    3
    « Clean and Comfortable »

Centrally located with an easy walk down to the shops for dinner. Friendly greeting and a nice motel with good Wi-Fi connection Bed was comfortable and the room was quite large overall. Well away from the highway so very quiet. Good place to stay..

    2
    « Clean but Dated »

Older style motel, we found to be clean but dated. stale smell when 1st entered room was almost over powering. Once air was bearable. This motel was most likely built in the 70's & doesn't appear to have been up dated since.

    5
    « Best pool... »

From the five different motels we stayed at on our road trip, this one had the best pool, the two boys didn't want to leave. The family room we were given was very comfortable and spacious, but the wi-fi was a little sluggish, only one device was able to connect.

    4
    « Comfortable »

On the return journey from Sydney for Christmas we stayed at this motel. Very comfortable but a little remote from eating places. Being the Christmas break some hotels or other motels with dining rooms didn't have dining rooms open. It was a hot evening to go searching for an evening meal without driving but we did walk down to the main street for a meal. The advantage of being a little off the beaten track was a quiet motel with very nice rooms, fresh milk for a cuppa, though the standard continental breakfast didn't contain cereal which was extra. Not expensive but a bit of a nuisance. All up though a pleasant stay.

    5
« Great one night experience when on the road... »

Stopped here when driving from Sydney to Melbourne. Very satisfied. Everything from arriving to leaving was very nice. The Service and the people working here was very pleasant. Very nice with the pool and everything. Room was very good. We slept 4 people at one room. No problem at all. The wifi was quite okay also. About 10mb wifi I guess. Fastest I've had on my three week vacation in Australia. Everything nice and clean. Very close to the city. Nothing to put my fingers on.

    4
« All you could ask for »

We stay here as a stopping off point on the way back to Melbourne from country NSW. It may not be the most up to date decor wise but the service is lovely, the bed comfortable, the room spacious and very clean and to top it all off its in a great location. All you could ever ask for! I'm always so impressed with the friendly service too. Lovely people. We would not stay anywhere else when passing through Albury and look forward to making yet another visit in 2016.

    4
    « Pleasant Stay »

The motel is well located within a short walk from the center of town - lots of shops and great restaurants. Air conditioning was a bonus as was 40 degrees when we arrived. Our room was clean and had everything we required. Would stay again if traveling through.

    4
    « Welcome return »

We've stayed at this property a few times over the years and this time were welcomed back. It's a clean motel in a quiet location away from the main road. A continental breakfast is included in the price which is great for an early getaway. Has complimentary wifi also. Good sized room.

    5
« Clean, affordable, friendly staff. Highly recommended. »

We stayed here recently for a netball trip. The staff were friendly, helpful and non obtrusive. The pool and spa were welcome additions for our recovery and relaxation. The rooms were clean and we were provided with breakfast (bread, spreads, tinned fruit, juice) and kitchenette was well stocked and presented. Highly recommended for an affordable stay in Albury. Close to town too.

    « A great family run hotel. »

Most friendly owners in the hotel business. Yes its a little outdated but the rooms are huge and provide everything thats needed. Great in summer with the pool. Looking forward to staying here again. Support the local and stay here

    4
    « quiet and spacious »

Recent stay at motel found a nice, large room, queen bed, kitchenette with continential breakfast. Close to cbd and eateries, quiet location with plenty of parking. Management recommended great place for evening meal.

    5
« Most comfortable bed in Albury »

The Meramie is in a great location, very quiet, but only a short walk to Dean street for plenty of cafes and shops. The rooms are spacious and the shower had a instant hot water and great pressure in a large cubicle. The mirrors are excellent for someone short sighted as you can actually see to put on your face. The highlight was the bed. A very comfortable pillow top mattress that gave me a great sleep. Last time we were in Albury we stayed at a Best Western in Wodonga and although the room was nice the bed was hard so we returned to the Meramie. The owners are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. My favourite place to stay in Albury by far.

    4
« Good value and very comfortable and clean »

Room was large. Table and chairs for dining. Extra single bed plus couch. Adequate kitchenette with microwave, toaster and kettle. Pool, spa and sauna available. we didn't use them but the pool area was nice to sit around. Decent sized bathroom with large shower. Managers very friendly and helpful. Located minutes walk from the city centre. Good value for money with modest breakfast included.

    5
« Large comfortable room and friendly service »

The friendly welcome and chat when we booked in an indication of a great place to stay. Our room was very large with a queen and single bed, couch and round table with chairs. Bathroom was also a decent size with large hot shower. Bed was comfortable and the whole room and complex immaculately clean. Wifi and light breakfast were free. A short walk to shops, restaurants and clubs. Would highly recommend.

Recently stayed here in shared two bedroom apartment. Interesting set-up with double bed in the open living area and three single beds in another room (doors on both). Although doubtful at first glance we found the facility to be great for our needs and although somewhat dated, the cleanliness and provisions were really good along with the friendly staff. Having the location it has was ideal for us and I would say it should be considered in Albury when looking for a reasonable and convenient place to stay.

Stayed for 1 night in room for 4. Studio was comfy, bathroom large and heating great. Breakfast of bread, packaged fruit, juices and condiments was already in room which was adequate for 4 of us. Check in was quick as was checkout. Would stay again as an overnighter.
