The Best Western Paris Gare Saint Lazare**** enjoys a prestigious location in Paris eighth district, very close to the Champs Elysees (ten min), the Opera (five min) and the department stores such as Galeries Lafayettes and Printemps (five min). The hotel has been fully refurbished early 2016 and offers 30 warm, quiet and comfortable rooms, all entirely equipped. The architectural style of the hotel, the famous 'Haussmannien' Parisian signature, makes the atmosphere very cozy and refined, and the bar the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing moment with family or friends. All rooms offer individual air-conditioning and heating, double glazed window, direct telephone dial, satellite and cable television, pay television, in-room safe, mini-bar, hairdryer and dataports, non smoking rooms available. The closest metro station is 'Europe' (two min), on the line three, and makes the access very easy to train stations Saint Lazare and Gare du Nord, airports Orly and Roissy.

    « Hmm.... okay »

Went there for a business trip for 1 night. The neighbiouhood is fine. The staff at hotel is courteous and helpful to an extent, they help with luggage and handle everything with a smile. No water in the room, they ran out of it and asked me to get it from the supermarket right opposite us. The lifts are placed un confortably in the middle of all floors. so if you land on floor 3. you will have to drag your luggae down a small stair of fligts and if you are living on the 4 th floor you had to drag the lugguage up for a half flight of stairs. The bed is comfortable, the colors in the room are too dark and depressing. this could be my choice... the bathrooms are small and not convivenent. There is a small balcony which you can step out to, to try and run away from the darkness on the room and the passage areas. The breakfast is fine.

« Very nice location and staff! »

I rate this nice place a 5 due to the good value/price great staff, and great location. It's not a luxury hotel, it is solidly good. Room was small, but all we do is sleep there so we didn't care! Elevator stops at half floors so it's a bit tricky if you have a heavy suitcase - you have to go up/down a 1/2 flight of curved stairs. But we managed and we aren't young. You are about a block away from an ATM & a metro station, which is right next to a really good restaurant (one of several in the immediate area), which is right by a great shopping street with a marvelous fresh bread shop. Across the street is a small market where you can buy some butter and fruit to go with the bread you pick up at that little bakery, for your breakfast. Instant hot water pot in room for your coffee or tea. (We never got the breakfast they offer.) You really have everything close, it feels very safe and is an attractive neighborhood. The staff is WONDERFUL, so helpful and knew exactly which metro stops we needed to go to when we asked. We were extremely happy with it and would stay there again with no hesitation!

    « 3 Amazing Nights In Paris »

Me and my wife Lisa stayed here for 3 nights from last Friday until today. This was my favourite trip to Paris ever as I wanted to show my new wife my Paris. She had heard bad things but before I got to this hotel Jean Charles called me and made arrangements for me so that our stay would be what we wanted it to be and he was the most helpful man we could of hoped for and very knowledgeable about Paris and was so helpful with all our needs. This hotel we paid 250 pounds for 3 nights and let me tell you what a bargain ! The bed was the most huge and comfortable bed we've had in such a long time. The location was amazing and I would recommend welcome pick ups and book before you go as it was only 44 pounds from the airport to Saint Lazare Also it's so close to Villiers Station where you are no more than 8 mins from anywhere and also an amazing pastry shop lenotre Thank you Jean for booking all of our things that we did this place was so amazing we have booked again for My birthday in February See you soon

    « Just perfect! :) »

We got room from 3rd floor and it was really nice! Balcony and bathtub made the room perfect. Breakfast was pretty basic hotel breakfast but it was good. :) Location is good because metro stations are near. I can highly recommend this hotel for anybody! :)

    « Small but sweet »

We stayed there for 5 nights and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel people were really warm and super helpful and made us feel welcome. Their small pâtisserie was so sweet and gave different options for breakfast.

    « Great location »

The hotel has a great location, just a few minutes from the metro station. Housekeeping was great and made sure that our room was cleaned every day during our stay. Breakfast was great as well, big variety of products which you can choose from. There is also a grocery store located across the street of the hotel which is great if you wish to get some snacks or something to drink.

« First trip to Paris »

We spent several days in this hotel and enjoyed our stay. The desk personnel were courteous and helpful. We had one of the larger rooms with sitting space...I highly recommend. It was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Always inquire about the AC when booking a room in Europe. The only caveat would be the revolving stairway which might be a little challenge for older adults.

    « A home like hotel »

I was traveling for the 1st time to Paris with my husband who had work to do there. We spent pleasant time in this hotel. The receptionist Anna, Emily, Achille, and Amado were very friendly, flexible, and generous with us to make the best of our stay inside and outside the hotel and offered the help at all times. They even offered to change our room to make our stay comfortable. The neighborhood is very nice, quite, and close to everywhere.

« USELESS Front Desk on the weekend »

Hello. I recently stayed at this hotel from June 25 - July 2 2017. Upon trying to check -in the desk person could not find my reservation even with a confirmation number. After 15 minutes she found clue. Not even a mention of being a status member. I checked out and left a few cables in the room in a hidden shelf in the closet. I sent an email to them for help, NO RESPONSE. USELESS. I went back to Paris the following weekend and approached the same person. She did not even know there was an email from me. I am Diamond Select with Best Western. I guess status means nothing to his hotel. Painfully I asked it we could look for the cables or even go into the room to check for the cables...she refused. Complete lack of customer service. It was like a was bothering her in my request. She pulled out a box of cables and which made no sense. If the management of this hotel reads this review...please reach out to me directly as your email was USELESS. I did interact with the front desk during the week and they were much better. It's the woman who is @ the desk during the weekend. I have stayed in several Best Western Hotels in Paris and this one is the worst of the worst.

    « Nice but tight »

We stayed here will one of us had to work for a week. The other got to be a tourist. Most hotels in Paris are small. This one takes that a little extreme. Still it's nicely appointed. The staff is good and the location is great

« No air conditioning! Do not stay here if it's hot! »

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. As luck would have it, Paris is experiencing a heat wave, and the air conditioning in the room is non-existent. We complained to the front desk, and they claimed they would get a technician to investigate and repair the unit, but nothing ever happened. Either the management is completely incompetent, or the hotel staff is afraid to tell the management about the deficiencies of the hotel. I will be registering our dissatisfaction with the Best Western management, but in the meantime, if you have a choice, I'd advise you to look elsewhere.

    « Quite Good Overall »

I was in Paris for work and this hotel was about a 20-minute walk from the office. It's convenient from the Europe metro station and Gare Saint Lazare is quite close as well. That means it's pretty easy to get to from CDG airport by train. The room itself was small but fairly standard size for Paris as I understand it. I had room 404, which was clean and efficient. One note on the access to the floors is that the lift is very small and stops between floors without much of a landing. There is a winding staircase to access all floors, but overall it might be tough to navigate for people who are a little less mobile. The street was not very busy in the morning or evening and the hotel is small so it was fairly quiet. I enjoyed the very firm bed and slept well aside from the normal jet lag issues. The bathroom was also small, but worked well. The shower had good strong flow and the temperature could be more than hot enough. The room had a complementary bottle of water and a couple snacks, which I especially appreciated at check-in since I hadn't had a chance to go to a shop to procure anything for the room. The small size of the room could perhaps be improved by some small design changes. It's nice to have a desk, but it essentially blocks the path to the windows to open or close the curtains. Perhaps replacing a nightstand with a shelf that could be used as a standing desk would alleviate that. Same for the closet, the corner placement of which left a few inches to squeeze by to the window. It, too, could perhaps replace the nightstand on the window side to free the space. Breakfast was a nice buffet with options ranging from sliced meats and cheese to scrambled eggs, pastry and fruit. It was perfect to fuel up for long days of work and walking. The neighborhood was also quite nice and I felt safe at all different hours I was out (the latest being about 12:30 AM). There are quite a few music-related shops, including luthiers and instrument sales. There aren't as many cafes in the immediate blocks as other areas, which is probably a good thing for keeping it quiet. You can easily get to those other areas by foot, metro or ride-sharing service.

    « Very accommodating. »

Great experience. I left cash in the safe, which they retrieved and held for me until I could get back a week later. The staff was wonderful, they accommodated our early arrival graciously. Very clean and pleasant.

    « Fantastic Value »

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. I have been lucky enough to stay at some extremley luxurious hotels, this hotel is incredibly good value. We stayed in room 403, fantastic size, querky, individually designed ensuite, which I adored. Plenty of space to move around, especially given the balcony. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, lots of attention to detail with regard to the furniture. The hotel is perfectly placed for restaurants and lovely cocktail bars. The station is only 3 minute walk away. The staff are incredibly helpful and polite. The breakfast is superb and the lady that runs that is superbly efficient, immaculate facilities. Yes the lift is tiny, this is an old building ... There is a spiral staircase, the building is so full of character. If you don't mind walking and indeed enjoy cleanliness, politeness and attention to details, you won't be disappointed.

« More good and bad points »

We stayed here 3 nights in April. As mentioned previously, the rooms are very tiny and the elevator is an issue. There was only 1 electrical outlet that we could find to recharge our phones etc. We had a room at the front that opened up to a tiny balcony that was really sweet. The staff was front desk staff was very good and even allowed us to check in early as our room was ready. One unfortunate problem was that we had an inundation of ants during our stay.

« Some good and some very bad points »

Booked a double room for 4 nights in March 2017. On arrival, we were surprised to be thrown in a room that would hardly fit the bed, not even our luggage. When I told them that a single occupant could stay for 1-2 nights there, but not a couple for 4 nights, they accepted our reasoning, but said had no other room, so they would change us in the next day, as they did. By the way, the location of the lift in the middle of the staircase between 2 floors, is totally uncomfortable and very dangerous (probably illegal too). Day 2: on our return at 22.30 pm, the outside door of the hotel was locked and we had to wait in the cold pushing the bell for 15 minutes, until the night shift comes from the back, buttons himself and opens the door! Day 3: on our return in the afternoon, we realised that the cleaner has thrown away an apparatus that my wife uses for her breathing problem! Finally a couple of good points: the hotel was clean, most of the staff helpful and breakfast area very pleasant with qood quality products for breakfast.

« Good place to discover Paris »

It's a simple hotel, but cozy. The best thing about it, in my opinion, it's the location: near metro stops and buses, and in a central location that's just around 30min walking from the Arc of Triumph. Also, the staff at the reception are very nice and are there 24/7. I had internet in my room, WI-FI, and it worked fine all the time. The room was spacious enough and had a balcony (not with a view though, as the buildings in front are high). The worst thing about the hotel, in my opinion, is the elevator access, as it is done by small stairs, meaning that if you have suitcases you will still need to carry them along some stairs before getting the elevator. Also, the breakfast room is quite small, so if there's more people it gets too crowded easily.

« Hotel stay in December »

Very nice hotel and the most important it was clean. Everyday we had our room to be cleaned, with new sheets, new towels. The location is great only 20 min walking is the opera and the Lafayette shopping center. The breakfast was very nice and clean. The heating was very nice and strong. Hot water 24h The only negative was our room 501 was very small 4x3.....

    « Dissapointed »

In the pictures of the hotel it looked good but in reality it was anything but , neglected and noisy we could here loud noises all night long, the review states it is near the amenities this is not true and the area is very run crown.

    « Tip »

    « disappointed! »

absolutely its not a 4 stars hotel; the only good point is the location ; at check in surprised that our room at the 6th floor so we have to go 1 floor from 5till6 without elevator with our 4 baggages!! and no concierge to help!! for 4 days we only saw 2 employees the receptionist and the lady in the breakfast room! breakfast room so small for maximum 10 people and no variety to eat!! sure will not go back or recommend this hotel!

« Small, easy to access but the service left a bit to be desired »

Good location in an interesting district full of violin shops, and easy access to everything Paris has to offer if you are able to walk to the metro. The room was comfortable but smelled strongly of damp after having a shower, as there was no extractor fan. The reception staff were very confused when we reported this and suggested we leave the window open, which would have been very easy to get into. Also, the lift stops between floors, so there are always stairs to walk up. We did not eat breakfast so cannot comment on that. Overall, not sure I would return, as it seemed overpriced for the experience.

    « Location and cleanliness »

Near metro, clean, good wifi for all your devices, there is a safe in room, there is lots of restaurant and stores nearby. Breakfast is good for this kind of hotel in paris. Room are small but good for just sleep in nights.

« Quiet hotel in a one-way street close to metro Villiers »

This is a small and clean hotel. The service in the reception is very good. The room facing the backyard is very small but also the most quiet ones. I have stayed several times in this hotel and it is a nice hotel if you are only in the hotel for sleeping. There are five rooms per floor and total 6 floors. If you want bigger rooms then you can ask for rooms facing the street like room ending with 02, 03 and 04. The colour in the hotel is very dark. The breakfast room is in the basement and the room is not very big but the choice for breakfast is ok. The hotel is just upgraded to a 4 star hotel but I think this hotel is more a 3 star level hotel in Paris. I have not tried the room service because you will find a Franprix on the other side of the street and you will find nice restaurants close to the metro Villiers. I will stay in this hotel next time I am in Pris for work.

    « Good Stay »

Location wise, the hotel is close to a bus stop & metro station as well. There are many restaurants nearby, so that was very convenient The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. There is a supermarket right opposite the hotel, where we stocked up before setting out for our sight seeing.

« Stolen from the hotel room »

Please do not stay at this hotel. Despite being a four star. Staff were rude when we checked in . We got back in the evening after our cruise ( they knew what time we were returning) our money from was stolen from the suitcase and the electronics safe was broken too. It was an Inside job. As they were trying to cover up when the police arrived. Please do not stay here !!

« Good location if Gars st lazarre is ur aim but »

Good location if Gars st lazarre is ur aim but far away from the champs walking. the rooms are small and in specific the bathroom. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is nice and the breakfast room is fresh. The reception of the hotel is nicely decorated. Staff are nice and helpful.

    « room 303 »

very friendly staff and helpful to our needs .. what was disappointing is the street noise , small room for travellers luggage , room was hot ( but the staff offered a van ) and the A/C is not working due to technical issues, there wasn't an iron for our clothes in the room and should be available through the hotel staff .. the location is great and near the metro just 5 minutes walk.

« Hotel with Paris style »

Excellent customer service from Anna receptionist. Overall rating is average because noisy street was not for me to bare. Very nice breakfast with Paris style maybe a little overpriced for 13 euro. Bed was clean and comfortable.Good location and easy access to Metro and restaurants.

« Good price, location, and friendly staff. »

Very friendly staff, willing to answer all our questions. Good location in a safe neighbourhood. Accessible by different transportation means, close to metro station (only 5 minutes walk). Rooms are clean, but a bit small especially if you have big luggage.

    « Thank you »

An excellent management and reception team let down somewhat by a disappointing breakfast facility. The manager and staff at reception are notably good, very considerate. The location is convenient for many of Paris' attractions. Well worth a visit but, on the basis of this brief visit, do not expect a peaceful breakfast.

    « very parisian »

Before my trip to Paris I did a thorough search on hotel rooms that would fit my needs, and well as my budget, which can be described as mid-range. I'm happy with the choice I made, as Best Western Elysees Paris Monceau was perfect. Paris city centre is such a pricey area, and hotels are no exception, so it feels good to have received such good value for my money! I stayed at the Elegance Room on my honeymoon. The lift landings are in between floors, so no matter where you are staying, you will have to climb 1 flight of stairs. The room comes with a small bottle of champagne, champagne flutes, a few biscuits, 2 small packs of candy, coffee & tea and an electric kettle. There's a mini fridge for your convenience. Toiletries like body lotion, shampoo, soap were of adequate quality, and the bathroom had a washing area, toilet and tub, and was clean, spacious enough if you don't have little kids to care for, and well-lit. There were 3 mirrors in the room; one in the bathroom, one in a small dresser/chest of drawers and a long one on the door. One tip about the bathroom though; keep the bathroom door closed at all times, as otherwise the room will start getting damp and smell musty. It was my first time in a cold climate, and I learnt the hard way! The bed, pillows and duvet were comfy enough, and I slept very well. The TV worked fine, accept there weren't many non-French channels to choose from (who needs TV when you're visiting Paris anyway). There were the usual hotel room stuff like bedside tables, a cupboard, a luggage stand, a padded chair and a general table to put your wallet or purchases on. It was a charming little room with a lovely balcony you can step out to, to enjoy the breeze. I miss it! The breakfast wasn't very good though, and was about the only thing that was not worth the cost. The scrambled eggs somehow lacked egg whites, and there were types of cereal, ham and cheeses, croissants, coffee, juice and a couple other things. The breakfast room was very pretty and well-decorated, though. Staff tend to keep stuff a while before breakfast time is over (not that it's a bad thing; they just want to get on with other duties I guess), so it's better to be early. The staff at the hotel were good to us. They entertained our questions on how to get to places, where to go for certain products and they even helped us make reservations at a restaurant. They were always smiling and welcoming. Make sure you know a few words in French before you communicate with the housekeeping staff though. Location--wise is it a very short walk to the nearest metro station, there's a small supermarket right across the street, and there are beautiful restaurants nearby. A tip: When you are checking in, check with front desk if your room rate includes breakfast, or does not. Booking through third party sites can be confusing.

    « Nice little hotel »

We stayed for just 2 nights and the location is slightly out of central Paris but this didn't bother us because there are 2 very close metro stops. Hotel is well decorated and we were able to leave our luggage with them before checking in as we were too early. We checked in around 6pm, they didn't advise us of the breakfast facility but we knew there was one so I ran down later on to ask of the breakfast times. The room was of average size it was quite dark due to the fact there was no ceiling light but only floor and wall lights to illuminate the room. It was clean and tidy apart from a wet towel a cleaner had left on the floor. The bed was comfortable. We faced the main road on the first floor and I was worried about street noise at night but actually there was none despite there being an Irish pub across the road. Breakfast had a good section of bread, pastries, meats. Hardly any people at breakfast could be down to the fact they don't promote it but there is a bakery nearby and plenty of cafe/ restaurants open for breakfast. The 2 minor negatives would be the tea and coffee facilities in the room; paper cups and no UHT milk, it's not difficult to have ceramic cups? And it got incredibly hot in the room despite it being January the air con failed to do anything so we just opened the window. Over all I did enjoy the stay and would stay again. Would definitely recommend it.

« A Wonderful Stay at a clean, quiet, place close to everything on a budget »

The staff was very professional and friendly. Sarah and Julia helped make our trip wonderful. It was my first trip to Europe, and I did not speak fluent French, but they both made sure that our vacation was perfect by sharing their knowledge of Paris and offering awesome accommodations. Small but clean and quiet. I will recommend to all

« Charming and truly Parisian »

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The hotel is situated in a quiet street, which is hard to find by Parisian standards. Even though the hotel is not centrally located, it is within walking distance to all main attractions. Our room faced quiet court ( as we requested ), so we could sleep with OPEN WINDOWS! It is a clean, nicely renovated, cozy hotel with friendly and helpful front desk people. There is a small inexpensive grocery store just across the street and a few charming pastry places with great coffee just around a courner. You can find lots of restaurants with great menu up the street. If you are looking for a real Parisian experience and nice hotel with that "feel like home" sence, this hotel will provide just that.

    « Une semaine à Paris / A week in Paris »

I spent a really good journey in this hotel , the service was excellent, i enjoyed the french breakfast. The staff at the front desk was very kind and helpful. My room was clean and comfy .On top of that the hotel is well-located , it is in Paris and close to all great Parisian attractions. I strongly recommended this hotel to anyone who plan a trip to Paris .

« Ok but really small everything »

The room on I got on the 6th floor was extremely small. With a Balcony though. The breakfast was excellent. And staff very friendly. How it can get more than a 3 I cannot understand. It is OK but not more.

    « Prestations »

The hotel is not centrally located but it is however very close (5 minutes walking) to the Gare Saint-Lazare. The staff is ok but could do more efforts to be friendlier (especially at the reception desk). Rooms are tiny but are not smaller that average for Paris. They are clean. Breakfast is average but the staff was friendly. They were two main issues with this hotel : 1) No wifi connection in the rooms despite what it was specified during the booking (you have a free wifi access in the lobby), 2) Our washbasin had a water leak. Rates are a little bit too high for the area.

« Okay... could be better »

Had a three-nights stay. The hotel is fair. The room was small, and not the cleanest. We had minimal interaction with the staff. Location is good. I expected a bit better. To get to the first floor there is no elevator, which was not practical with the luggage. I would recommend it more for a business stay than leisure.

    « It's A Good Hotel for a Short Visit in Paris »

The good point at staying at this hotel is that you get to experience somewhat living in a Parisian style house. It's small and narrow. It's in quite a good location, but if you're going here for the first time you might get lost if you're going here via train. The staff are nice. The room is small, but well maintained. The elevator is up to the 5th floor and only can accommodate 2 persons max. Stayed at the 6th floor so still need to use the stairs. Choose a room facing the road, not the back of the hotel. If you're planning to stay in Paris for 3 days or less this should be a good hotel, but more than that, I advise not to. There is a grocery across the road, so it's good to shop for food and make you own breakfast if you're on a budget.

« Okay, but fell short of what I expected of Best Western »

This hotel was okay, but fell short of my expectations. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable, especially the bathroom. However The elevator stopped at a landing between floors, so one still need to carry bags up the stairs. Having just had shoulder surgery, this was a bit of a struggle, and disappointing because I specifically looked for a hotel with an elevator. The one staff member I had contact with was unfriendly, bordering on rude. He could not find my reservation even though I provided the confirmation, and acted as though I was to blame, but I eventually got a room :)

    « Nice stay »

We had a very nice stay. With public transport very easy to go anywhere. Rooms were fine. First night the AC was not working and we found out in the night after a long day walking. Night reception tried his best to fix it or move us to an other room. It was late so we decided to just go to sleep and next day we moved to an other room. Very helpfull and understanding staff also in the night. Rooms were small but that is normal in Europe, beds were clean, small minibar and tea / coffee facilities were a plus point. The tiles in the bath tub and shower curtain could be cleaner. That was the only thing that could be better. For the rest we had a great stay in this hotel.

    « 4 days on Paris »

I had never been to Paris before until this weekend, we arrived at the hotel and the receptionist had not received our booking from however she couldn't have been more helpful! It was a fault on part and she quickly accommodated us. The hotel was lovely, clean and matched the images online (always a nice thing!). Once we had conquered the metro, the hotel location was fantastic and we will visit again. Can't believe how cheap it was to stay there!! Thank you very much

    « excelent place »

Nice place, good sevice,Bad breakfast, good location, quiet zone, non turistic zone perhaps next year I will repeat If I give an average it will be 70% the room is a litte small an the bathroom to noisy

    « terrible stayed »

very bad and terrible reception duty room was not cleand and very small the coridor is very very small that was terrible experience in Paris..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

    « great value »

Minutes from everything. French style - as in everything is tiny and you have to drag your luggage up. Good breakfast and perfect location for walking around and enjoying nearby attractions. Would stay again.

« Value for money and good location, but need to drag your lugguage in between floors »

Location is convenient and great value for money. There is a pub nearby called Publisher that served the best fish burger! It was only a couple minutes away from the hotel and the staff was very friendly. We were glad that we didn't have to starve till the next morning and able to find food at 10pm. The morning shift guy at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. He gave us recommendations to the site attractions and restaurants. The only bad thing about this hotel would be its elevator. It stops in between floors. So you would need to drag your luggage through the stairs. Which can be a real pain if you have a large suitcase. I would strongly recommend Uber driver as it only costs $45 fixed price to the airport. Driver is very friendly too.

    « Beware »

Just because it says it has a lift, doesn't mean it's practical -- you will still have to drag your luggage up and down a steep, winding staircase. "Superior" room is extremely tiny. Housekeeping service wasn't so good. Worst part was that we didn't think we were going to get back into the hotel at 2 am. We returned to the hotel after at night out at 2 am. The hotel advertises 24-hour reception. We rang and rang the doorbell. Called the front desk, which was forwarded to a generic recording that never gave us an option to speak to a live person. Finally in a panic we resorted to banging on the glass doors. Turns out the receptionist was asleep. Very scary and frustrating. They were very UNapologetic about the whole situation.
