« Quiet hotel in a good location »

We found that there is almost too much choice when booking hotels in Paris, and ultimately chose this one after many hours of internet searching based on the location and the price. We didn't want to spend too much, as we weren't planning on spending much time at the hotel, so the main thing was finding a comfortable place we could use as a base to see the main sights. The location is good. We flew in to CDG and took the RER B to Port Royal, which was about a 5 minute walk to the hotel. On our first day we walked from the hotel to the Eiffel Tower, and on our second we walked from the hotel to the notre dame cathedral then all along the river to the Arc de Triomphe before getting the Metro back. If you'd prefer to take the metro everywhere there are multiple stops within a 10 minute walk, so very well connected for most of central Paris. Around the hotel there are probably more than 100 restaurants within walking distance in the Montparnasse area, so plenty to choose from. We didn't eat at the hotel (including breakfast) so can't comment on the food. The one negative I would say is that the room is on the small side (the bed is a very small double) and the wall to the bathroom is very thin, meaning you can hear everything. Overall, a great location, a comfortable hotel and for a good price. We would stay here again.

    « Lovely surprise »

I usually stay in an apartment in the Marais, so I was a little worried about a whole new neighborhood and a hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel room was very smartly decorated, everything was very comfortable, the hotel staff was helpful. The free wifi had a strong connection and was appreciated. It was very close to the Vavin stop and there was much going on in the neighborhood. The hotel is on a small side street, so it is very quiet. I had asked for a room in the back as I am a light sleeper, and I received a prompt email accommodating my request. I am very glad I stayed here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

« 6th district hotel, great safe location near many sights »

Villa des Artistas is a great value hotel situated in a great location in Paris' 6th district Montparnasse It is a safe, clean and modern 3 star hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. You are near the main sites either by foot or short journeys on the Metro. We thought that breakfast was a bit pricey at €16 per person so we had breakfast at Julien everyday which is about a minute walk from the hotel. Boulevard Montparnasse is nearby, full of restaurants and bars. This hotel is a great choice for first time visitors as it is close to Montparnasse train station and near several Metro stops. You can go straight to Orly and Charles de Gaulle from here. The Air France Le Bus (Orly) stops a short walk from the hotel at Montparnasse station and you can catch the RER B to CDG at Port Royal Metro Station,5 min walk from the hotel. If you are like us and will spend most of your time sightseeing Paris and want a great place to come back to and sleep, shower, get ready etc then book Villa des Artistas. It is a good quality 3-star hotel. Free WiFi. Minibar. You can leave luggage after check out.

« Very quaint and quiet »

Room was adequate and decent size for a Paris hotel. Good spread and plenty for breakfast.. Stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our stay here.. Close proximity to some of the sights . Wish there was a restaurant or a cafe on the premises

« High comfort and really quite »

I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, and I´m very content with my choice. The room had a good size, the bed were comfy and the prize was not bad to be so sentral in Paris. Only a five minutes walk to the Metro, and 1 unit walk to the nearest restaurant. The staff were always there to help, and I felt really welcome at this Hotel. I would absolutely go back.

« Nice and quiet hotel in great location »

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel end were very content with our choice. Reasonable size (for Paris), prize and comfortable beds. We were lucky to get a room facing the backyard and had no problem with noise from the traffic at all. Personel were attentive and welcoming. The common areas and carpets in superior rooms could do with a face lift and the corridors were quite claustrophobic but since we did not spend much time there it did not bother us much. We found the breakfast a bit too exspensive so we ate at cafees nearby for half the price. Very nice area and close to transportation with 2 metro lines (2-4 min away) and one RER-station serving a CDG Airport line (a 40 min trip) 7 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a good price and quality stay and does not demand luxury or perfection. Would also definately recommend a visit to the nearby Montparnasse Tower - great view of Paris without the long lines of the Eiffel tower!

« Practical Choice with Good Location »

We spent 4 nights at this hotel at the beginning of a 3 week trip. It was our first time to both Paris and France. We had booked a triple (myself, mother and aunt) so the room was a little tight and a little stuffy at night. But overall we had no complaints. We were in Paris during the June floods and a transit strike, but we found this location to be within walking distance of the what we wanted to see. It is on a quiet side street, but within a block you are at the crossroads of the Blvd du Montparnasse and Blvd Raspail with plenty of options for your first meal. The hotel is clean and the staff efficient and helpful when asked. We had paid for breakfast to be included and it was a solid buffet with plenty of fruit and pastries.

« Comfortable Hotel Good Location »

This hotel is convenient to two metro locations which allowed easy access to many places via the subway. The room was a family room with beds for three and it was clean a spacious by Paris standards. The staff was friendly and helpful and they provided a city map that was also useful for navigation. There are many nearby restaurants and it is only a few blocks walk to Luxembourg Gardens which is a very nice park. The Montparnasse Tower is nearby and provides a nice view on the 60th floor of the city. close to the Montparnasse Tower metro stop is a McDonalds.

« wonderfull service and location »

stayed for 5 days at best western a la villa aristes . very clean hotel very nice and comfortable rooms. we were upgrade without asking . the staff are very kind and helpfull. the metro is 2 minutes walking. very good as expected.

    « WARNING! Tourist trap! »

WARNING! This hotel is a TOURIST TRAP, and they will SCAM you if you are looking like easy hunt for them and the manager isn't around. There are 1000 hotels in Paris, take anything but not this one! I also heard this from another couple we accidentally met, for me and for my fiancee it ruined our first visit in France. We payed in advance and when we were checked out they added 150 euros more to our bill. When I asked them why they forced me to pay, and also called the police. They don't even talk English so I couldn't communicate with them. We had to catch the flight so we payed at the end after an hour of argument. Beatrice and Raymond was rude, unpleasant and unfortunately also anti-semeitists, which We didn't thought we'll see in France. Paris is beautiful and it's a shame to get in those trap- pick another hotel if you can and didn't had your reservation already. I've been in many best western hotels in all over Europe but this one is nothing to compare them.

« Very good as expected. »

Stayed in 2014 and again in 2016, 5 nights and going back there this Saturday. Very small rooms, smallish bathrooms. But very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, brilliant loaction near Vavin. Good soundproofing, lovely little courtyard to relax in. Lots of restaurats nearby, supermakets nearby, Always clean and tidy. Jardin du Luxembourg only a 5 minute walk.

« Lets do it simple »

Location: okay, not too far from Montparnasse // reception : good // Room : clean, very small like most of hotel rooms in Paris but so dark, everything is dark brown or grey, furniture, carpet, walls // bed: very comfortable // bathroom with brown tiles is clean, small and modern // breakfast; small room, dark grey, poor choice. Sack the decorator and you can have a nice hotel

« Smart, clean central hotel »

Great Paris hotel with welcoming staff. Nicely furnished with arty touches to each room. Usual Paris problem with noisy guests - but never been to Paris and slept all night! This was the quietest hotel in last 10 or so visits to Paris. Breakfast pricey so ate out.

    « perfect location »

Reasonably priced decent hotel in a great location. The family room we were in had 3 separate beds, a large closet for storage and a very clean bathroom. It is located in a side street of Rue Montparnasse very close to the Vavin metro. While the hotel serves breakfast there is no need to fork out 18 euros per person as there is a great boulangerie/patisserie just around the corner that serves delicious croissants and sandwiches. Within a few hundred yards there are many well known restaurants including La Rotonde, Le Dome, the Select, Bar a Huitres . Just past the boulangerie is a self service launderette which came in handy after 7 days travelling in Europe. About a 10 minute walk away in the direction of the Montparnasse circle is a "supermarket" if you need drinks and snacks. The hotel staff, although working in a somewhat cramped reception area was always helpful and able to answer all the typical tourist questions. The Luxembourg Gardens is within walking distance and well worth a visit. For the other attractions we used the metro which is fast and inexpensive. We flew out of Paris from Charles De Gaulle but rather than using a taxi or limo service we used the metro. Vavin although close had too many stairs for our luggage so we did a 7 minute walk to the Port Royal metro which is on the RER line direct to the airport. This station has lifts so no need to fight the stairs.

« The Perfect Paris Travelers Hotel »

I travel to France often and primarily to Paris. I have stayed at several hotels and this one has become my favorite for Paris travel and my needs and wants. The location for starters is excellent in my opinion as it resides on a quiet street full of history within Montparnasse, yet is surrounded by a thriving and vibrant area. The rooms are above average and modernly appointed with a boutique feel yet very warm and friendly. The courtyard is a great place to relax and unwind in the morning or evening. You are near the RER and the Metro stations and many of the Universities. Just around the corner you will find two famous and historic bistros in Le Dome and Le Rotunde where it seems time has stood still since the days of the famous artists, although a bit touristy, if you know the history they are spectacular visits. Just down the street you also have La Closerie des Lilas another beautiful experience to have a glass of wine. Located a few short blocks away you have the wonderful Jardin du Luxembourg where you could spend a day having a picnic, listening to music, sailing miniature boats or visiting the sites for little to nothing. There is a wonderful Basque restaurant just around the corner that is both reasonable, and very filling. (I did not eat until the next evening), as well there are several bakeries, fromageries just a block away. The hotel being located in Montparnasse provides you with some much to do just in the immediate area. The staff as well is pleasant and friendly. Enjoy!

« Well located, nice rooms and good service »

The hotel is very well located near Montparnasse, metro stations, walking distance from La Grande Epicerie, lots of gardens, shops, etc. Good rooms, clean bathrooms and nice helpful service by hotel staff. A good option in Paris.

« Well placed for all the major attractions »

We came over to France to watch Le Tour de France and wanted a hotel close enough to be able to walk to the Champs Elysees and Tuileries. This hotel is located in Montparnasse and is within walking distance of all the major attractions in Paris, Notre Dame the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre etc. and is also close to the Metro (Vavin) if you don't feel like walking. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area so breakfast, lunch and dinner are catered for (we never ate at the hotel). The room was smallish but clean and quiet, had a nice size shower, free Wi-Fi and air con, which was especially pleasant as there was a mini heat wave when we were there. I'd be happy to stay there again

« A great location, friendly staff, and nice hotel! »

We spent six nights at Villa des Artistes in late May, 2016. We were completely satisfied. The rooms were clean, quiet, modern, and comfortable. The staff spoke english and were very professional and accommodating in every way. The breakfast room and selection was typical of what we have experienced at similar mid-range hotels, and the kitchen staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the neighborhood and found the location to be very convenient. There were countless restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. There was a metro station at the corner, and two other lines within a few blocks. We would not hesitate to return.......

    « Weekend break »

Really great place to stay and so peacefully very friendly at reception would stay again when in Paris. Ticks all the boxes. Lovely area of Paris to stay plenty of nice restaurants to have a meal and relax

    « Quiet hotel »

Recent Family trip to Paris. Very nice, quiet, clean, rooms with modern updates. Comfortable beds and a nice breakfast. Very close to Metro stations and many restaurants in the Montparnasse area of Paris. Our family found this to be an ideal situation for our Paris trip. Would highly recommend this Hotel.

    « Good budget hotel »

Stayed one night and the hotel was fine, good location near lots of bars and restaurants. Rooms are small but normal for Paris, staff were polite and spoke good English and the price was cheap (for paris).

    « Mom and Daughters »

My first time in Paris with my teenage daughters. This was a wonderful experience. First impression of this hotel is deceiving . It looks very small and dark (no windows) , but once in the room it's amazing! We had a deluxe family suite (meaning it accommodates 3 adults) the room had its own private hallway, with a separate entrance.Room was very quiet, very spacious and beautiful. The bathroom was very spacious (for France standard) Had all our needs; iron, blow dryer, fridge, safe, tv) Beds were very clean and very comfortable and well lit up. Our room window, view the small courtyard in the middle of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and available at any hour. Very helpful. Housekeeping was efficient and very clean linens. Comfortable beds. The room included breakfast. Had great patisseries, croissants, variety of cheese, eggs, sausage, breads, juices, coffee, etc. Would have like more fruit. But had apples available (only) Wi-if was available. The location was central and had many restaurants of all types! French, Chinese , seafood, patisseries every corner, supermarkets, banks & atm's, all walking distance. Hot water and water pressure was never an issue. Would recommend and certainly go back.

« Helped make our vacation the trip of a lifetime! »

Fabulous hotel and great location. The staff from the amazing front desk, to the restaurant to the housekeepers were the best! All friendly and helpful. I was traveling with my kids and we stayed in a two story/two bedroom/2 bathroom room that was perfect!

    « A perfect choice. »

Good 3 star French hotel, well run by Best Western. On a sunny day you can even have breakfast (excellent) in the hotel's lovely little garden. The hotel is located in the lively Montparnasse neighborhood, in a quiet street opposite the Academie de Peinture et Sculpture. The metros are very close as well as many restaurants, cafes, cinemas, stores etc... A perfect choice when visiting Paris.

« Style, comfort and location = amazing stay »

We stayed at this hotel in May during a trip throughout Italy and France. Our stay was excellent! The hotel was easy to find when we came from the Metro. We arrived early and were provided a room promptly. The ladies at the front desk were ever so pleasant! Gave us good info about the city, provided us with a map and good tips. The area itself was perfect with restaurants and the Metro within walking distance. The room itself was just what we needed. Comfortable and met all of our needs. It was on the smaller size (compared to North American hotels) which was expected. However, it was clean, comfortable and perfect. We had a double bed, clean shower and washroom with all the amenities. I would highly suggest this hotel to all!

« Wonderful Little Hotel in Montparnasse »

I really enjoyed my stay at Best Western Villa Des Artistes. It's a lovely little hotel in the heart of Montparnasse, a stone's throw from the intersection of Boulvard du Montparnasse and Boulevard Raspail. I arrived pretty early in the day, and my room was ready within a half hour, without any fuss. Check-in was quick, efficient, and welcoming. The room was larger than many rooms in Paris, but still on the rather small side. It overlooked some roofs on the back side of the hotel and was very quiet. The bathroom was not the largest but of a decent size. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean. The location of the hotel is very convenient, especially if you want to see sites in the Montparnasse area. It is very close to some historically significant restaurants that continue serving good food -- La Rotonde, La Cupole, Le Select. Instead of having breakfast at the hotel, I opted for breakfast at local cafes, and there were so many to choose from. Service at the hotel was consistently dependable and responsive. Wi-Fi connection was dependable. Best Western Villa Des Artistes is a dependable choice for Paris, and I highly recommend it.

    « Great Hotel »

Great location in quiet side street but convenient to Metro and cafes. Staff extremely helpful with excellent English. The area is historically important for 20th Century artists with a small Art College just opposite. The garden at the back was lovely to sit in and relax. We loved our room at the back of the Hotel and it was just what we had requested. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

« Best little hotel in paris »

The rooms were fine. Nothing outstanding. But what did make it outstanding was the helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel staff. They went out of their way to help you plan your vacation. I have never stayed in a hotel with such exceptional staff. Also the location was great!!! Lots of restaurants and shops.

    « April in Paris »

The Best Western Villa Des Artistes is in a perfect location to walk the wonderful city of Paris. The hotel is on a quiet side street and is lovely, comfortable, and friendly. We so enjoyed our stay here.

« Great stay at Villa Des Artistes »

Pros: Staff very friendly, clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Great location...close to metro stop (Vavin) and train station (Montparnasse). Also within walking distance of the Catacombs. When in Paris again in the future, we'll definitely stay here again. Cons: WiFi was spotty in our room. Also, small elevator...but at least they have one. Many places don't.

« Great , just off the main boulevards »

It's on rue de la grande Chaumière, 2 minutes walk from the busy corner of boul.Montparnasse ans Raspail. Very clean and quiet hotel with modern redesigned rooms, great breakfast and Fast WiFi network. I stayed there 8 days for business and was totally please with everything.

    « Paris Trip »

We stayed in Villa Des Artistes over the weekend. We stayed in room 203 and found the whole experience excellent, the room was airy and spacious. Grt bed and didn't hear a sound during the night. The staff are very helpful especially giving advice regarding metros and sightseeing. Would definitely stay there again! very safe neighbourhood with lots of cafes, restaurants around. A stroll away from the Luxembourg gardens and we even walked to Notre Dam Cathedral from the hotel. a lovely restaurant nearby called L'atelier, good food, wine and staff. Starbucks nearby and a lovely Patissiere just turn right then left towards Luxembourg gardens.

    « An outstanding place! »

We loved everything about this hotel : - the location - its 2 min walk from the subway, which can take you to all the important things to visit in Paris; also with a small walk from the hotel, you can reach the Luxembourg park/garden and then, further on, the Latin quarter. - the room : we had a superior double room with plenty of space, clean and comfortable bed; - we haven't tried the beakfast : outside, really close to the hotel there is an amazing pastry/coffee shop; - the staff was really helpfull and tried their best to please us. Bottom line, this small boutique hotel, had everything we were expecting from our stay in Paris!

« Not worth the money »

Positives were good check in staff, clean room, nice bed! Negatives were quite noisy with doors closing in the night, hair dryer was so weak it was useless, the shower only wanted to pint out the shower so I had to hold it. The worst thing was the breakfast! At 16 Euros plus tax it was a massive waste of money. If this hotel was cheaper I'd say it was good but at the money I spent you'd get much better elsewhere.

    « Great location!! »

Very pleased we chose this hotel; easy to get to from the airport and very near a metro stop. Plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and a lovely patisserie for an afternoon treat (something we often did!). There is even a Starbucks if you really need it. We didn't have breakfast as we preferred to try different cafes, the reception team were very helpful and booked a restaurant we particularly wanted to try. The room was not huge (we just went for standard) but was more than adequate. Overall a great hotel!

    « Excellent choice »

We highly recommend Villa Des Artistes for wonderful personal service and its excellent location. All staff members were helpful but we would like to say thanks again to Carmen who made our stay perfect giving useful recommendations.

« Great hotel in a Good area. »

We had bad accommodation in another place in Paris so got on the Metro and came up in this district went to about 3 hotels before choosing this one for its good price and location and friendly staff. Breakfast was the usual and enough in a nice little courtyard overlooking their garden, nice artwork on walls. Safe location 2 metro stations are nearby.

« Very Happy I selected this hotel »

So happy I chose this hotel Location is just off two main roads and is very quiet. We had a courtyard room and slept great. Wonderful black out curtains too which are helpful with the time change adjustment. Rooms are not large, but comfortable. It was very clean. We could open the windows on to the courtyard for fresh air, but it did have central heat and a/c. Rooms have a safe. The best part of the hotel is the helpful desk staff. Beatrice was wonderful. Very helpful in helping us plan our days and she made a wonderful recommendation for a local restaurant for a traditional French dinner. We ate breakfast at the nearby patisserie. Take a left out of hotel and the hairpin right turn after you cross the small street. It will be on your right, second shop. If you continue down this same street there are great shops and grocery. At the very end of the street is another patisserie across the street from the Luxembourg Gardens. Hotel is very close to Vivan Metro stop. When you exit the Metro, take the stairs to the left. To get to the hotel, cross main road and take the next left. There is an ATM on the corner. We used the trains and metro to go most places. Taxi stand is back near metro stop. On another side street, across the major main road there was a street with 12 Creperia cafes. The neighborhood is wonderful and safe. We used the trains for CDG and for trip to Palace of Versailles. This is not a luxury hotel, but we used it only for sleeping since we were on the go. Good, free WiFi. It is very clean, friendly and safe. It is a typical French hotel. Great Experience. If you are hotel hunting, you can stop your search. Enjoy Paris. It is a beautiful city.

« great location ,very friendly and comfortable hotel »

we loved this hotel and the location, very near great restaurants and close by boulevard Saint German and other sights, great little local market on boulevard Raspail. metro around the corner but great walks from the hotelarea? also very comfortable hotel and real helpfull and friendly staff!! we definite come back to this hotel..

« Area near the metro, and the outside breakfast area »

I research a number of different hotels in PARIS for a 4 day stay and chose this one because it had a lovely garden area to eat breakfast and was situated in the downtown cafe area of Paris with its cafes all lit up in the evenings and was situated near Metro stop 7 in the Rue 6 area. A launderette is nearby if one has been travelling a lot and needs a clean pair of clothes. The rooms were clean and spacious along with the shower, breakfasts tasty and the reception staff always helpful and all spoke good English and had plenty of maps available to mark with a pen a destination one was looking for? In all a lovely trip and would highly recommend this hotel for its area, cleanliness, breakfast, size of room and outside eating area.

    « Great stay »

We wanted to stay somewhere central in Paris but for a reasonable price. This had very good trip advisor reviews so we chose this place and are really pleased we did. It was so convenient near the metro stops and the reception staff were very polite. There was also lots of shops and restaurants nearby (would highly recommend chez tonton the chinese restaurant down the road). We stayed in one of the cheapest rooms and although quite small (as we had expected from a room in the centre of the capital), it was enough for our week's break and clean and modern. We used the hotel computers to book tickets for the palace of versailles and it was really easy to print off our tickets. Would definitely return to this hotel next time we go to Paris.

    « Loved Paris »

Very good hotel rooms were good but a bit small double room was very small single room was better, very good and clean , staff was helpful ready to help it was good they all spoke English Breakfast selection was very good just loved it Good walking distance to restaurants and activities.

    « Fantastic Stay »

We arrived late afternoon on the 17th August and were met by two very helpful ladies on reception. They explained everything we needed to know, provided us with a Paris map and then guided us personally to our room. We had requested on booking for a room with a double bed overlooking the courtyard and all our requests were met. The room was small but we didn't expect anything other in Paris and we weren't going to be spending much time in the room anyway. The room was beautifully decorated and free condiments and toiletries were provided. The bathroom had a shower which had both a handheld head which you could remove and a fixed head on the ceiling of the shower. You could have both of these on at the same time or just one, it was the best shower i've ever had (especially abroad). The drainage wasn't too bad after reading reviews that It tended to be bad but we found it to drain fairly quickly. The room and hotel throughout was kept exceptionally clean and was always really quiet. We couldn't speak higher of the staff, they always greet us with a cheery bonjour or good morning and bonsoir on our way back up on a night. We didn't choose the breakfast option but the metro (line 4 from Vavin) is literally just at the top of the street or we took a short 10 minute walk to montpanarse (metro line 12 stops here) where we passed a little cafe that offered a pastry and soft drink for 2 euro 40 which we opted for most mornings. There are a range of lovely restaurants close by as well as the beautiful jardin du luxemburg being a 15 minute walk away. Port Royal RER station is also about the same distance which we used for the airport. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Best Western!

« Great Place to Stay »

We stayed here for our week in Paris it is close to the Vavin stop on metro line 4. The staff was very helpful and the place was very clean and quite, we had a view over looking the garden. It rained almost every day but the hotel has great umbrellas you can borrow. There are great restaurants and shopping.

    « Quiet, well-located hotel »

On booking we asked for a 'quiet room with a courtyard view' in this mid-range priced hotel and that was exactly what we got . We were nicely greeted at check-in and escorted to our room by the receptionist. Our room was (number 5) was actually situated through the breakfast room at the back of the courtyard. It was the only room there and had its own little seating area and table. And it certainly was quiet! We had booked a superior room so I assume ours fell into this category. It was certainly a unique experience as we had no contact with other guests at all other than at breakfast during our 4 day stay. The room was spacious by Paris standards and clean and comfortable, with tea/coffee facilities and a small sitting area. It was perfectly adequate for our needs although the Wi-Fi was a little hit and miss in the room. Breakfast was also adequate for us but limited in the choice of hot food which some might find a problem especially at a cost of 16 euros per person. Although the breakfast room is small we never had a problem getting a table, albeit in quite an intimate setting. There are 3 tables in the courtyard available for use in warmer weather also. There is a pleasant bar/lounge area with computer access but we saw very few using this area during our stay. In fact the staff were happy to open our own bottle of supermarket wine which we had in our room. The hotel is situated in a quiet street off the busy Boulevard Montparnasse with its multitude of cafes an quite expensive restaurants. There are 3 metro stations within a few minutes walk which will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go in a fast and efficient manner. The main RER station at Port Royal is an easy 7 or so minutes walk from the hotel and this goes direct to Charles de Gaulle airport. The Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon are within a 10 minute walk from the hotel and well worth a visit. All in all, this is a nice, quiet hotel in a good location and although it is not cheap we would say it was good value for money. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Thank you to all for making our stay so enjoyable.

« I was a little hesitant to stay at a Best Western but this hotel is EXCELLENT »

I was a little hesitant to stay at a Best Western because they don't get a great rep in the U.S. but this hotel was excellent! The room was small but SUPER clean. The location is close to the subway and close to stops on the Hop on Hop off bus. There are cute restaurants and stores around. It's located in the Latin Quarter. This was my first time in Paris and I was extremely satisfied with the location and quality of this hotel. I will definitely stay here again.

« A hotel which lives up to its name! »

This hotel is situated in a quiet street just off the Boulevard de Montparnasse. Metro station Vavin is a few minutes walk away, and the Montparnasse Tower with its fine views across Paris is a mere 10 minutes. Sculpture enthusiasts could do worse than skirting the Tower and heading for the Musée Bourdelet with its collection of art deco sculpture. The hotel is quite small and has an intimate feel. Reception was friendly, and checking in was a matter of moments. Given its name, the hotel strives for an 'arty' feel, and the rooms (we have stayed in two on two separate occasions) are tastefully done out in a 'designer' style. Considerable ingenuity has been exercised in saving space and using it imaginatively. Although not large, our room was inviting, comfortable, and quiet. And air conditioned. It looked onto the hotel's garden. Our booking was for bed and breakfast. The latter was the usual buffet style with a selection of yoghurt, charcuterie, cheese, fresh fruit salad, Viennoiseries - and excellent coffee. We felt properly set up for the day. The hotel is at the higher end of 'budget', so you should be entitled to a reasonable standard with some touches of luxury. We felt it met our requirements - and that is why we had chosen to come back.

« Very comfortable and excellent location »

Compact hotel in a great location. We stayed 2 nights at this hotel along with another couple. The hotel was located in a quite side street, but within 35-40 minutes walking distance to Notre Dame and the river. The service was very good, and all staff were polite and very helpful. Our room was clean and bright, although 'compact' and the batch room was a squeeze but spotless. There was an excellent little bakery around the corner too from fresh croissant in the morning.

    « Uncomplicated »

The Villa des Artistes is one of the better mid-range hotels in Paris. Close to Jardin de Luxembourg and Vavin metro station it is situated in a charming little side street which features great restaurants. The staff are courteous, the rooms clean and functional (we had a garden and rooftops view), the bathroom perhaps a bit outdated but serviceable. All rooms were cleaned to a good standard. One slight downside is the breakfast room which is too small, especially when the hotel is full. The breakfast itself was good and varied. All in all this hotel is comfortable and good value for money.

    « Perfect! »

Very good surprise: pristine room with very comfortable bed......quiet as on the courtyard and isolated from corridor by double doors. Plenty of room in cupboards for your clothes Small yet convenient bathroom. No air extractor though Nice coffee making facilities and free WIFI with good speed Very good value for money with last minute deal

    « Good Location »

Hotel was in a great location on a nice quiet street but close to good restaurants and sights such as the gardens. Decor is very modern not in Parisian style but rooms and bathrooms were clean and good size. Staff were friendly and helpful and were definitely the highlight of the hotel. Breakfast was decent as well. Would stay here again.

    « Good location »

    « My 40th »

We stayed here for my 40th back in April, really enjoyed our stay. Close to all the attractions will definitely be coming back. The staff were extremely helpful. What a beautiful city. The food and culture was beyond our expectations

    « Good location »

I spent 2 nights in the hotel. It was a very comfortable hotel with clean, stylish rooms. It was ideally located for shops, bars, restaurants and Vavin metro stop. As a solo room occupant the double...

« Lovely hotel in a great location »

My two daughters and I stayed here for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were exceptional, the room was very clean and comfortable. We only ate the breakfast here on the last day and it was only "ok", which is disappointing for 16 euros. The breakfasts that can be purchased close by were much better. Overall, I highly recommend it.

« Excellent hotel on quiet side street »

This is a lovely hotel. Located very close to the Vavin metro stop and near the bustling Raspail, the little side street is quiet (despite having at least three restaurants, including the michelin starred Wadya). This is one of the quietest hotels I've found in Paris, and I would certainly choose it again. Comfortable bed. There is a small lounge and bar. I had to leave early to travel to Belgium so I didn't try to breakfast. Staff courteous and friendly.

« Un tres bon séjour »

Cet hotel bien appointé est tres bien situé par rapport les visites aux centres d'attraction aux environs de Paris; dans une banlieue bien fournie des restaurants, bistrots et bars d'un qualité supériere- Formidable! An excellent stay. This well-appointed hotel is very well located with regard to visiting tourist attractions in the vicinity of Paris, in a suburb well stocked with better quality restaurants, bistros & bars. Excellent! (Apologies to all French readers for my crap French language skills)

« Prime Location in Paris »

Nestled in the Montparnasse District sits the Best Western Villa Des Artistes. You are near cafes', cinemas, shopping, and public transportation. You can walk to almost anywhere in Paris (sightseeing) in less than 30 minutes. I will return!

    « Paris Vacation Stay »

I would highly recommend the Villa Des Artistes in Paris. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The hotel was a couple of blocks from a Metro station and in a very nice area of Paris.

    « Paris with kids...great hotel »

I went to Paris to spend 3 days with my family and the hotel definitly met our expectations. The staff were great and the location wasn't too far from everything. There was no resteraunt, but there was breakfast. We expected better from breakfast. We ended up eating at a local brassiere close by. A starbucks was about a block and a half away and thats always an essential right? It was surrounded by a great neighborhood. We highly reccomend this hotel. Esspecially if you don"t mind traveling by metro.

    « Very nice hotel »

We liked the room and the location and the hotel was a good value. It is located on a quiet side street near the Luxembourg Gardens and away from heavy tourist areas. We experienced no problems. Our room had been recently renovated and was quite pleasant.
