The Best Western Jardin De Cluny, in the Latin Quarter, is located on a very quiet street between Notre-Dame and Sorbonne University. This perfect location offers the easiest access to major monuments in the center of Paris. Since 1985, we provide you with perfectly appointed rooms, updated with quality fixtures and materials from European and French designers. For your comfort, we choosed to be European Eco-Label certified. This label distinguishes our hotel for its high standards of both services and environmental quality. The hotel is also 100% non-smoking. We will be pleased to help you enjoy the charms of Paris, and to make your stay an unforgettable experience. We all speak English, and several staff members speak German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic or Italian. We would be pleased to welcome you in Paris, so don't hesitate any longer!
Excellent staff and service! Room was clean. Very close to the entertainment and restaurants of the latin quarter but just away from the noise. The metro is across the street, easy to use and move to wherever you want.
Nothing negative to say about this hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful whether English or French was spoken. They gave us directions and even knew the strike days so that we could select the appropriate mode of transportation to and from CDG. The location is fabulous; close to two metro stops and plenty of cafes. The room was small which is fine because very little time was spent in the room. The lavatory / shower was in a separate room from the WC -- excellent.
This was a quant inn that we thoroughly enjoyed staying at. It is small and personable. There is always someone at the front desk - they are very friendly and helpful, and you get to know them well. The rooms are clean and comfortable (yes, they are small, but enough room). And, the location could not be better. A short walk to Notre Dame but also not too touristy. You feel like you are in a real neighbourhood. Thanks for a wonderful visit.
We stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room and overall enjoyed our stay. The service was friendly throughout and fairly efficient. The shower however was below par for what you'd expect of a 4 star hotel. The water trickled out of the vertical shower head at such a low rate it was difficult to get enough water to wash off the soap and impossible to wash your feet without taking off the shower head. The other “eco friendly” characteristic I didn't appreciate was not providing the single use items in the bathroom, specifically the shower cap. Sure they say you can ask for this at the front desk but who wants to go down to the front desk once you've gotten ready for a shower? If that's the policy then at least say someone can bring it up to the room. The breakfast was also very average. On the second day we arrived at breakfast at 9 (finishes at 10.30 so wasn't right at the end). There were literally 2 pastries left, 2 baguette pieces, some bread slices, and some warm yoghurt left. There were no bowls left for cereal so had to ask for some. Then we saw the kitchen staff member RINSING some bowls under water with her hand - no soapy water or sponge. Highly disgusting. There was no restocking of the breakfast items at all while we were there. The hotel is well located, the room was clean and the staff friendly. However, our room was quite cramped, bathroom facilities aren't great, and the breakfast was terrible, so will likely look for another place next time I'm in Paris.

friendly staff and a renovated room (#206) that was larger than expected (but certainly not as large as North American hotels). clean, environmentally responsible and close to Notre Dame and lively area while being quiet itself. mini fridge and kettle with tea and coffee in the room while breakfast is included when booked directly with the hotel. Breakfast was continental style - nice variety of breads/pastries, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheese, cold cuts, eggs and sausage with juices and water, tea and coffee. elevator could accommodate two comfortably or one with luggage. my only criticism is that the beds were too hard - but I found that common in France. my travelling companion did not have the same complaint so perhaps it is a matter of preference. also be aware that the bathroom has a separate radiator that can be adjusted as it affects the overall room temperature.
I have stayed here for several years for 10 nights or more each time. They have earned their four stars. The street is quiet. A laundromat is just around the corner. The rooms are small compared to the typical American hotel. But I found them adequately sized for my needs. Good closet space. Bathrooms are small but sufficient to get around. Very clean and serviced promptly each day which means they keep sufficient staff to get things done. Reception staff are friendly and efficient. They have been helpful with any questions I may have. It is located very close to a stop on Line 10 — less than five minute walk. Line 4 and RER B and C are maybe a 7 minute walk. There are numerous bus stops nearby. Bus 38 from Gare du Nord has a convenient stop at Les Ecoles. There is a small marche just a few minutes away. Numerous restaurants nearby but some of dubious quality. There are also some good ones. You can walk to Notre Dame, Shakespeare & Co., the Pantheon, and l'Isle St. Louis in ten minutes or less. I have not had their breakfast because I prefer to go to a brasserie, people watch, and read the International NY Times—I have a couple of favorites which are close by via Line 10. The fact that I have stayed here several times for ten nights or so should be sufficient to explain why I give them five stars.
My husband and I stayed here for five nights and had a good stay. The AC had an individual control unit in our room and kept us cool the entire time. There was more closet space than usual and the Queen bed room was very comfortable (we had room 501). There are only two rooms per floor, and an elevator or stairs were available. We could walk to Notre Dame in about 10 minutes or so, with numerous restaurants near the hotel, along with souvenir shops, cathedrals, little markets and a pharmacy. The staff were all very friendly and spoke English, as well as French and other languages. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
By far one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. really small cramped up rooms. horrible staff specially audry. even the rooms were not done once and the hotel had no staff later on to do it. extremely expensive for the price. understaffed hotel. one of the worst

Dear Guest, We are really sorry that our hotel didn't meet your expectations. It's thrue that our rooms are small, and I understand that compare to international standards, it may be surprising. But they meet the official standards of french hotels regulation, and are pretty equivalent to our competitors in the Latin Quarter. One can find the size of our rooms on all the major websites, before booking. Regarding the room cleaning, we always respect our guests privacy, especially when the Do Not Disturb sign remains on the door. You may have find a message on your door when you came back. After 5:30pm, the housekeeping service is closed, but toiletries and fresh towels are available at the Front Desk. I really appologize if the behavior of our staff offended you. Please believe that we took your feedback in high consideration, and that the necessary has been done. We hope that you'll find the perfect accomodation for your future stays in Paris. Sincerely yours, Karine Gillot Front Office Manager
Cute little boutique hotel. So close to Norte dame. Staff here is fantastic. Luis was super helpful and a wonderful concierge. Next time we rare in Paris. This is where we will stay. Buffet breakfast is served. We didn't have it. They have a shuttle to the airport for a fee.
This is a quaint hotel in the Latin Quarter of Paris. I enjoyed the stay on the 5th floor with a balcony and cute view of the street. I definitely suggest getting a room with a balcony! Upon arrival, the staff was very kind and welcoming. They wear tags with which languages they can speak, so there was no problem speaking English here. They give just one room key, and it powers the lights in the room. Also before leaving the hotel, you must turn in the key to the staff. At first it seems a bit odd, but then you come to realize it is actually relieving not having to worry about the key getting lost or stolen. When you return to the hotel, you just tell them your room number and name, and they will give you the key. It is a smooth process unless there is someone checking in, because then you might have to wait a few moments. The elevator is very tiny but could fit two people and one suitcase just fine. I suggest not bringing more than one suitcase because the rooms are tight. The king comfort room is a small, cozy space. Keep in mind that the king bed is actually two beds put together (very common in Europe), not actually one bed. It is still equivalent to a king bed size though, just a little quirky with the center where the beds are pushed together. There are two separated rooms for the bathroom in the king comfort, private just for you to use. There is a shower and sink in one room, and across the room on the other side, there is a toilet in another tiny room. It is a bit awkward at times, but it isn't a big deal. Keep in mind that the room with the shower and sink has a translucent door, so you can see through what the person is doing in there. This might be unwanted, depending on who you are sharing the room with. However the toilet room's door is solid and cannot be seen through. The shower / bath tub is very, very high up. I don't recommend it for anyone who cannot step up very high. Also, the tub itself is narrow, so I actually had to stand sideways and never could shower in a normal standing position. There is a large shampoo / body wash bottle attached to the shower, so you will always have plenty of shampoo during your stay. The shower head is detachable or can attach like a normal shower, which is a nice feature. There are towels provided. There is a desk, chair, tiny nightstand, flat screen tv (most of the channels are in French, just a few in English), a safe, a place for your suitcase, and a few drawers. There is air conditioning that you can control. There are snacks and drinks that you can buy from the room. The windows open up to a beautiful balcony. The room is small and a little quirky with the bathroom setup, but it isn't anything big to complain about. The hotel does not have ice machines, but you can ask a staff member to fill a bucket of ice if you want. There is a little office area with a computer, and there is a breakfast buffet on the very bottom floor. The location is amazing! It is on a quieter street, and you are just steps away from shops, restaurants, Notre Dame, the Seine River, etc. There is the orange metro line number 10 only a minute away. You can even ride this line to the Eiffel Tower (Champ de Mars). There is also an RER B line about 5 minutes away (next to Notre Dame), which is where you can get on and off for the CDG airport.
Our wonderful stay at the Jardin de Cluny in April not only left us with good feelings about the room itself, with its light and layout and roomy shower and closet and shelf space and mini-frig. It was also the realization that what made this hotel so enjoyable was the helpfulness of the reception staff, in their eagerness to give us tips on what buses and metros to take and their willingness to print out museum tickets and aIrline boarding passes. Their friendly dispositions made for pleasant interactions on our frequent comings and goings and this set the tone for the day. It made us appreciate how important the hotel experience is as a key to profiting from the location: the accessibility of buses and metro and taxis and nearby outstanding food and wine shops, bakeries, cafes, markets, and restaurants and bookstores.
We stayed at this Best Western on the left bank in Paris. We did have a Deluxe king room in a private part of this hotel and it was very comfortable. The bed was really comfortable and the amenities were good (very small frig but big enough to cool several waters, etc,). The shower and sink were separate from the toilet room ( and the toilet room was very small). I did enjoy the heated towel rack and the robes. It was not air conditioned but we were comfortable. The elevator was tiny and the hotel staff delivered our luggage to us. We did not eat breakfast there as it was very expensive and there were plenty of near by places to grab breakfast. This hotel is on a quiet street but very close to Notre Dame while Luxembourg Gardens and the Sorbonne are easily in walking distance. We very much enjoy staying in the Latin Quarter and this hotel fulfilled our expectations. The staff were very helpful and did all they could to assist us in our questions. You do have to leave your room key with reception whenever you leave the hotel and request it back whenever you return...it was never a problem. Also, there is a self service laundry right around the corner so that was very convenient.
We visit the hotel twice a year and always eturn, The location is superb in the center of the Latin quarter in a very quiet place. Crew is there for th elast twenty years helpful and attentive. Roomsveryclean and breakfast more than decent
My wife and I stayed here for 6 days in late April and early May 2018. Staff were amazing and very helpful when answering our questions about Paris and the various stops we had on our agenda. Breakfast is great in the grotto downstairs - mainly ate croissants with prosciutto and cheese and some fresh fruit. Location was perfect to walk everywhere. Wife and I clocked in about 55 miles of walking over the 6 days - great way to keep from putting on the pounds while enjoying all the great food. Free wifi was great, as well as the king sized bed!!! Close to all the excitement in the Latin Quarter but quiet at night, definitely recommend-especially for the price.
I have busted Paris numerous times over the years and I have never returned to the same hotel (not because I didn't like them but to stay in a different location each time) however, I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now, it is a fantastic hotel, in, for me, a perfect location, I love the Latin Quarter / St Germain area, and I feel that this hotel is a little piece of luxury perfectly located! It's within a 5 minute walk from the underground, not even that, it's situated on a quiet street set away from all of the hustle and bustle of the area yet within a stones throw of it all. The only thing that I have found is that the rooms are quite warm, but that really is my only 'negative' point. Each room that we've stayed in has met the same standard as the previous and that is a very high standard. I can't comment on the breakfast as we were room only, but the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable and just what you would want from a hotel.
We just returned from 9 days in Paris and stayed at this hotel. It's in a great location - walking distance to major attractions or bus/train stops. We mostly walked. Check-in was easy. Our room was clean and large enough for 2 for a week. We were hardly ever at the hotel since we spent the whole day sight-seeing around Paris. The bed was large and comfortable. It was warm the first few days and we couldn't figure out how to turn the A/C on, but the window opened so we used that. Later we found out that the whole building had to be switched to A/C before the room temp would work. They finally did switch it on after a few days when it got into the 80s. There was good water pressure and plenty of hot water for the shower. The only weird part was that there was only 1/2 of a glass door, so you had to be careful not to splash too much. The hotel provides shampoo/body wash, but no other toiletries. There was also a hair dryer. Paris uses the Southern Europe plugs. We found that a converter with many USB ports is the most useful. Breakfast at the hotel is in a cute little cave in the basement, but a bit pricey. The Starbucks a few blocks away is much more reasonable with better coffee. Crepe stands weren't even open early for breakfast, which was odd to us, but apparently they are considered more of a dessert or snack in Paris. Overall, the hotel was convenient and had everything that we needed for a week!
We spent 4 nights at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location in the Latin Quarter is great - easy walking distance to many top destinations and just around the corner from the Maubert Mutualite metro stop. The entire hotel was very clean. The only drawback was the room was so small it was really challenging to get settled.
Stayed here for 3 nights for a birthday break. Handy location for the latin quarter. Within a short walking distance for the metro and not far from Notre Dame. Located on a side street it was relatively peaceful. Good room, clean and well presented. On the ground floor at the back of the hotel. Windows were big and as it was a ground floor room -secure. Air con in the room but operated seasonally. Bathroom was large with a shower over the bath a little tired in places but otherwise clean and tidy. The only issue we had was friday night with people talking on the pavement outside our room until late but that's not the hotels fault. Other than that it was a good place to stay. The hotel staff made sure my birthday stay was pleasant and memorable for the right reasons. Thank you
Great location and very friendly staff. Rooms are quite small but good value for price. Reception staff greeted us in a very friendly manner every day and we felt they looked after us and helped us out with whatever we needed during our stay. Not a huge selection for breakfast but still very nice. Would recommend this hotel for your first visit to Paris as it is quite central and cosy :)
My partner and I stayed in a Deluxe room in the 4th floor. The contemporary-styled Deluxe room looked just like the pictures (curved ceiling, platform bead, tile floors, and nature motif on wall). Our room overlooked the street, and the bathroom overlooked the courtyard. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sculpted soaking tub perfect for reading a book or browsing an iPad after your 10-mile walk in the city. There's a tiny elevator that goes to every floor. If you like the look of the pictures, you should be pleased with the actual product. You could conceivably walk to every major site in Paris from this location. And the trains RER B to/from Charles De Gaulle and the RER C to Versailles are a quick walk away. It's a less than 3-minute walk to the nearest metro (Maubert-Mutualite) and a less than 5-minute walk to the nearest RER (Cluny-La Sorbonne). Even better, it's a about a 5-minute walk to the Seine and Notre Dame. The street that the hotel faces is a quiet, neighborhood-like street. The hotel is pretty quiet given that it's on a small street, and there are only about 7 floors per room. However, while noise from the hall and street is well-controlled, sound seems to carry easily from the floor above. If you're extremely sensitive to noise, I suggest asking fo the 5th floor (top) and/or bringing ear plugs. Likewise, when you return to your room in the evening, please take of your shoes and refrain from sliding the furniture around on the hard floor! Breakfast was included in our rate as we booked direct. It's in the cute basement and OKAY. It had a selection of breads, cold cuts, cheeses, and cereals (pictures are pretty spot on). There's also juices, coffee, and tea. If it's included with your rate, it's very serviceable; however, I wouldn't pay extra for it. Also in the basement is a living room area and an honor-bar. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. While I generally like the Park Hyatts and Le Meridiens of the more newly-built world, I couldn't conceive paying 3x more for those 5* chains in Paris when Jardin de Cluny is so great!
Location was great. Walkable to all major sites around city center. Wonderful restaurants around corners both ways. Tip from person at front desk and we went twice. Room was super small but clean. Upgrade to bigger room if you are used to only American Hotels. Very clean.
Four adult members of my family visited Paris the week of Feb 17. We were interested in taking in as much history and art as possible in seven days. Best Western Jardin De Cluny was perfectly located to visit the major museums and attractions Paris has to offer. The rooms were cozy and clean and staff at the ready to help. Loved our stay.
The location of this hotel is perfect for seeing all attractions of Paris with the Notre-Dame cathedral being so close and any metro/bus service to the centre being within walking distance. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the room was good too. They are quite small with only a shower and no bath which would have been good as we went during winter and it was very cold! However the room was always warm when we arrived back after our adventures into the cold. Would recommend to anyone planning to see Paris by foot or transport.
This is a lovely hotel in a good location 5 minutes from Maubert Mutualite metro station and near St Michel. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Lilias was the main receptionist and she gave me very good directions and guidance. They kindly upgraded me to a deluxe room which was very lovely with a comfortable bed and a really good bathroom. The WiFi was also very good. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good and I particularly liked the croissants. I would stay here again.
I stayed here alone and checked in late at night. The lady at the front desk was nice and offered me several suggestions on where to eat around the neighborhood. She also helped bring up my huge suitcase up the stairs because the elevator wasn't working. My room was on the 2nd floor. It was a decent size for 1 person, modern, and clean. My only complaint is that because the room was located right next to the staircase and had thin walls, I had difficulty sleeping. The breakfast area in the basement is quaint and the food is fresh.
the position is very good, 5 minutes from Notre Dame and Saint Michel on the rive gauche. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit small but clean and functional. We had no breakfast included in our ratr so I can't comment on that.
My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights for our first trip to Paris in May. We were originally planning on staying a little further away at the BEST WESTERN Hotel Faubourg Saint-Martin, but I found an online deal on their website for a deluxe room at Jardin de Cluny and am very glad I did. We asked for a quiet room on an upper floor and were given a quiet room that opened to the back street on the top floor. The room was clean and well designed and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the breakfast served downstairs and still think of the baguettes with butter and cheese often. The hotel location was perfect. We ended up taking Uber and cabs much more than planned because it was so close to everything, which was nice not to have to deal with public transit while on vacation. It was walking distance to many sights and also to the river which was great for night time strolls. I would definitely recommend walking over to the island behind Notre Dame for the delicious pistachio ice cream at Berthillon's.
Lovely people at reception. Clean room and very modern. Definitely recommend. It's also in a great location with a good selection of bars and restaurants around. Good walking distance to main attraction and a cute little market just down the street.
Karen & Andre' were exceptional at giving us a feeling of home. The hotel was very comfortable & decorated nicely. The location is perfect with all the amenities of getting around Paris right at your doorstep in the Latin Quarters. We started our day with the delicious breakfast in the lower level... When we come back, we'd return to the Best Western Jardin de Cluny. Thanks for making my birthday one I'll never forget. Darlene & Jonathan New York, NY
This hotel is located in the Latin quarter near metro/ bus/ and train station. Just a few blocks from the Notre Dame.. clean room, soft bed and friendly staff made it a pleasant stay. Andre was there to assist in any way he could. Very helpful and knowledgeable about his city.
My friends and I chose this hotel after a great deal of research and we were not disappointed. The rooms are comfortable, the location is perfect, close to the metro, bus so very easy to get around. The hotel staff were very charming and accommodating, following their recommendation we eat in probably one of the best brassieres in the location. We will return.
I am a frequent visitor and the hotel gets better and better. Located superbly in a quite street near St Michel station it affords quick movement inParis. Staff is extremely friendly nd helpful and th ehoel was jusr redecorated and moved to 4 stars/ Saying this prices re vert resoanble an dchoice of rooms enables the right size Extremely recommended
Talk about a great location! Metro stations: in less than 5 minutes, you have Maubert-Mutualité to the east, and Cluny - La Sorbonne to the west; or, in just over 5 minutes, Saint Michel. Walk through the Latin Quarter, and you have all your restaurants and shops (all the souvenir shops, same stuff, different store), albeit touristy. But if you venture a few blocks away, then you get some great places frequented by the locals. We booked a room with a King size bed, and the room was nice. Maybe still small by North American standards, but pretty big by downtown Paris standards. Bathroom was big enough, but we are not a big fan of the glass divider instead of a shower curtain, as we usually have a pool of water on the bathroom floor after a shower. Although the sound insulation in the hotel was not great, we did not have any noise issues (you would hear others in the hotel, but the rooms were too small for people to have a party in, so that was never a problem). We also took the breakfast. To us silly Canadians, the croissants were to die for!! As good as the ones from the bakery (where they probably came from). The staff were fabulous. For our safety, we would leave the key with the front desk. They would verify the guests' identity before giving out the keys, and after a few days, all the staff would recognize all their guests and the room they were in. So we would get back to the hotel, and be greeted with a smile and our key. There is also a safe in the room closet, so we had the comfort in knowing that our valuables are safely stored.
This is the 7th time I've stayed at this hotel over the last 20 years. It never disappoints. The staff is excellent! Very friendly and good knowledge of English and the area. The rooms are nice, modern, clean, and quiet at night! And the hotel is situated in a superb location in the left bank to use as a starting point to venture into the city!
My wife and I came to paris to celebrate her 30th birthday, I've booked the room (deluxe with breakfast) through their website which offered a 4th night for free and a breakfast, I chose the deluxe room, it was cheaper than the regular room without breakfast in all the big sites like Expedia and Booking! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated beyond perfection, this small boutique hotel is located 5 mins from Notre Dame, in a super quiet area at the Latin Quarter, the room (202) was big enough, just like the photos show, bed was super comfy, bath and toilets were super clean, wifi worked perfectly (rare in france) a really nice view to the street, coffee and tea, bath robes and plenty of towels. A/C worked great and easy to adjust. The breakfast buffet was just on the spot, located in a really charming cave-like space, with top class design, super quiet and full of goodies (from scrambled eggs to ham, sausages, cheese, fruits pastry, yogurt, fresh juices and coffee and tea, great way to start your day. The let you borrow umbrellas for a rainy day, the let me send a package before arriving and emailed me when it arrived, we got a bottle of champagne on the house with a greeting card! To sum it up, I did a whole lot of research and was terrified about the room sizes in Paris, eventually we got the whole vacation package expected from a hotel: Location-Comfort-Size-Cleanliness and good vibes. Will definitely come back!
Excellent location in the Latin Quarter on quiet street near restaurants and markets. Very comfortable rooms with great mattresses and modern bathrooms. There is an interior garden area off of reception area and a room for guests to gather one floor below. Our rate included a substantial buffet breakfast with included eggs, sausage, cereals, meats, cheeses, pastries, breads and fruit. Helpful, attentive and pleasant wait staff.
Stayed 3 nights before embarking on river cruise. Location was fabulous just two blocks off the east end of St Germain. Pantheon, Notre Dame, Sante Chappelle all within 5-10 minutes easy walk. Restaurants too innumerable to count with 10 minutes. Room was larger than many in Paris although we were upgraded to King Deluxe which might be different than standard. Fabulous staff- Andre assisted with initial booking issue before we left home- Andrea was working when we checked in, we arrived at 9:30 AM expecting to store our luggage, instead she offered us coffee and had us checked in before 11:00 leaving the rest of the day free for us to enjoy Paris. Would definitely stay again.
The standard double room with en-suite was small but clean, as was the hotel generally. Unfortunately the air con wasn't working making the room too hot and stuffy to sleep. The mattress was also quite firm. The walls must be quite thin as I could hear next door swishing about in the bath in the early morning along with hair dryer and walking around. The hotel is in an excellent location in the Latin quarter surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants. It is also close to St Michel Notre Damn too which is useful for both Metro and main RER lines to/from CDG airport and getting to Versailles, for example. Hotel offers breakfast at €17 per person but it's cheaper to find a café locally. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed at this small cosy hotel for 4 days. The location is great - near the Cathedral Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter so there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The rooms are small, but when you are in Paris you really don't need a large hotel room, and our room was nice and clean. Breakfast is served down in the cellar in a fabulous setting. Good breakfast with delicious croissants. We had a super stay at the hotel, and if we ever get the chance, we will stay there again.
Stayed for four nights in this hotel. We really loved our stay. The rooms are very clean and like most of the rooms in Paris are on the small side. My daughter and I had room 406 which had twin beds and had a very good and well lit bathroom. The lighting in the room was excellent including reading lights above the bed. My son and his wife's room had a double bed and bathroom was smaller but had a separate toilet. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast is expensive if you want the full breakfast. It was 17 euros. However you can ask for the express breakfast which came with fresh orange juice, coffee and two croissants for 7 Euros. Lovely breakfast area. The hotel has rooms in three categories. Our rooms were comfort rooms and larger than the classic. Location is wonderful.
We stayed here for 4 nights towards the end of July. Andrea on the front desk was great - checked us in well, gave us some great info on public transport and how to save us money, and was very welcoming throughout our stay. The room was small but it met our needs well. My husband mentioned on the booking form that we were going for our first wedding anniversary and they left sweets and a note in our room - nice touch!! One issue we had was we messed up the safe with all of our belongings inside. When we rang down to the front desk, they told us that due to no staff being on (this was about 11pm) they couldn't help us get our stuff out until the morning. This resulted in a worrying night, hoping they would remember to come in the morning - they didn't and I did have to ring down to ask again - and it was Andrea to the rescue!! Would I stay here again? Yes if the price was right. Close to the metro, hop off and on bus etc.
We stayed here for 4 nights. At first we were disappointed: the lobby is small, but nice, but to get to the rooms, you take a tiny, sneaky old elevator. The first room we were shown was drab, depressing even. We upgraded to a lovely room. It faced a quiet street, was comfortable and bright! Pretty bath, comfortable bed. Well worth the extra cost. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was extremely personable and friendly. Andre made us feel like we were visiting old friends! What a wonderful guy!! We liked the neighborhood: in one direction, too many other tourists, but we loved going around the corner in the morning to buy pastries and then cafe. There was a market several times a week. Location is central: interesting walk over to the Seine, Norte Dame, musee D'Orsay and more cafes than you can imagine. We'd go there again in a heartbeat. We will!!
This newly renovated 4 star hotel is located minutes away from Cluny metro station, very clean and quiet, with modern room and comfortable bed. Breakfast is really good and includes fresh pastries, scrambled eggs, sausages and a selection of ham and French cheeses. Coffee is also very good-so you definitely can take the breakfast here, it's much better than usually in Parisian hotels. The staff was very helpful and kind, linen and towels changed daily.
The location is great just a few minutes walking from the quartier Latin and the public transportation is very close. The rooms are small but that's normal in Paris. They are super clean. The breakfast was super. We really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The deluxe-king room was very attractive (see my photo). The hotel is a short walk from the nearest Metro station. It is a few minute walk from the Pantheon (see my photos), an architecturally beautifully built building with a beautiful and enormous dome which can be seen from long distances away. It was built as a church but was converted into an all-star mausoleum for some of France's biggest names. They include Pierre and Marie Currie, Voltaire, Zola, Dumas, Hugo, and Rousseau.

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your nice feedback! We are very happy you enjoyed your room, and your stay with us, and will do everything possible to keep this level of satisfaction for all our guests. We hope to see you back, if you ever come back to Paris. Sincerly yours,
This hotel is in a brilliant location, you can walk to Notre Dame cathedral in about 10 mins and there are hundreds are bars and restaurants serving food into the early hours. It is situated very close to all designer shops (10 mins walk) however... The hotel is a bit hit and miss in terms of rooms. On the website they show a nice minimal look to the rooms however they are not all completed to that standard and the room we stayed in was very tired with very dirty carpet and moldy bathroom. I think when booking this venue you should check if you are in a refurbished room. The bar is an honesty bar situated in a nice area but not ideal to relax at the hotel and you have to hand your key in when going out so coming back late you have to ring the bell and wait for night porter. It is OK but not sure i would stay here again.
We stayed in this lovely hotel in the Latin quarter and were not disappointed. Andre and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with travel tips. The decor is attractive, and while the rooms are small by American standards, the beds are comfortable and the room is nicely updated. It was a luxury to be situated in a quiet neighborhood with friendly people, and to be located within close walking distance of as many shops, bakeries, restaurants and cafes as one could need.
My husband and I stayed 10 nights in Room 602, a suite on the top floor. Extremely quiet street in the busy Latin Quarter surrounded by great restaurants. Near many attractions and public transportation. Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Delicious daily breakfast. Very clean and well maintained facilities. Modern and elegant decor. Very happy home in a busy city.
Everything about this hotel was great, the staff, location, neighborhood, amenities, were all just as described. The desk clerks were warm and friendly and the neighborhood was quiet, but in close proximity to everything we wanted. We felt welcomed and appreciated, which is certainly not universally true of all such venues. There was a laundry around the corner, lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The property was clean and well maintained, and most of all, we felt safe. I would certainly recommend it!
This is our second time at this hotel, and it was great. Good selection at breakfast and the location to St. Germain and Notre Dame can't be beat. Staff very helpful with suggestions and directions. We will be back!
Stayed 4 nights in May 2017 at hotel Le Jardin de Cluny. This hotel is located in the Latin quarter. I chose it from reviews and it's central location to the metro. We arrived from Bruges by train at Paris Nord and then the RER B train is 2 stops away from this hotel. The hotel is on a quiet street (a good thing in Paris). It also has easy access to the RER C train to get to the palace of Versailles and local buses to get to the Louvre etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful with directions and information. There are lots of local restaurants with good food and reasonable prices close by as well as access to loads of banks and teller machines for money exchanges. Our room was the top floor along one of the side streets, a good view and quiet. The room is on the small side as most in Paris are but ample for our needs and comfort. The decor and amenities were modern and well cared for. Bedding was comfortable and welcome after lots of walking the city. Breakfast is served in a room 2 floors below ground (floor -2). Breakfast has several cheese and meat selections, croissants, fruit, coffee/tea. The selections are not overwhelming but good enough for us to wake up and get fueled enough to strike out for the day. We enjoyed or stay and would certainly choose again if we return to Paris. Note, they have the tiniest elevator I've ever seen, 2 small stature people max, luggage goes up and back down in stages...but we always take too much so our bad. it was great!
We recently visited Paris for a family reunion and to attend a wedding. I booked this hotel on Booking.com primarily because the location was a safer district and it was close to the Latin Quarter, which I was told was worth the visit. The picture displayed in the website for the King Bedroom is a renovated room, we certainly did not receive this lovely modern room. Our room, although clean, was very old with old furniture and wall paper that was peeling and a smelly bathroom. I managed to get to the renovated rooms - these were cheaper than the room we were allocated to. When you pay $350 per room, you expect to get what you see on the website. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but not what we paid for. The staff were very friendly and informative - extremely helpful and the foyer was modern. We had WiFi most of the time and the location was truly great.

Dear Kathy, Thank you very much for staying at our hotel, and for your feedback regarding your experience with us. We really appreciate your feedback regarding the staff behavior: making sure our guests have the best experience of the City is very important for us. I understand your desapointment for not getting one of the modern rooms you saw on Booking.com. We have 5 different room categories sold on this website, and 20 pictures representing all of them. I imagine it may be confusing to know which one you booked. However, I'm much more concerned with your room description. Our hotel is renovated on a regular base, and the 3 last rooms needing a make-up have been refurbished last March (and were not King size bedded). In order to have a better understanding of your experience, I would appreciate if you can take few minutes of your time to give me additional information (your last name or your room number, for example). This will help a lot to fix the situation, and improve our offer. Of course, if you plan to come back to Paris, don't hesitate to contact me directly: I'll make sure you get a Deluxe room. Looking to here from you, Sincerly yours, Karine Gillot - Front Office Manager
This was our first trip to Paris. I wanted to be in the historic district and Latin Quarter. We spent three nights, went on to Barcelona and Madrid, then returned here the night before our trip back to the U.S. This hotel is three blocks from Ile de la Cite and Ile de St. Louis, and is between Blvd. Saint Germain and Rue des Ecoles, two major transportation routes. The staff helped us with bus routes to the Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triomphe and with advice on whether to take the metro or a taxi to Orly Airport, which is about the same cost. The staff was always helpful and friendly. Yes, the rooms are small, but it's central Paris and they can't / shouldn't tear down historic buildings to build hotels. And they have queen beds, which are not common in Paris. Our first room was on the fifth floor, top of the hotel on that side. Second time we were on the top floor on the other side, with a view of Notre Dame. The rooms are quiet despite the building's narrowness, resulting in the placement of the elevator / lift right next to the rooms. I would recommend Jardin De Cluny for any stay in Paris.
You can not beat the location of the place. Walking to many locales is easy, subway 2 minute walk, resterants right beside and many within a 5 minute walk, but on a very quite street. A/C worked great, very clean rooms and property. As mentioned in other reviews small and I mean small elevator but usable. Property is in a very safe area as far as we where concerned. Lastly the front staff.Awesome to deal with, all speak very good english so easy and willing to help with your Paris holiday. Great property for the price would stay again.
OK this Hotel is clean and comfortable, and ideally located , metres away from Paris' city island and a stone's throw from Notre Dame Cathedral, so expectations of price versus value delivered were in tune because of the location and accessibility . We travelled to Paris for the 6 Nations (France _Wales ) match and easily located the Hotel as we exited St Michel tube station ( 5 mins walk ) The Hotel is ...OK. very clean , I struggled with the room size a little but this is Paris and rooms tend to be smaller in size when compared to other locations especially if the Hotel is not a new build . We only used the Hotel for sleeping , rooms were clean , cramped and in hindsight I could have spent less money by selecting a location which has no less to offer than the Best Western ... did make me feel I wanted to spend any time there other than for sleeping - sorry if that sounds harsh ! Not likely to stay again sadly no great take away memory. Location is amazing however .........................! You decide !
When I made a sudden decision to take a week's break in Paris, my first thought was to see if I could get a room at the BW Le Jardin de Cluny. I've stayed there a number of times over the years, and it has never disappointed. Once again, I made the right booking. Besides being strategically located within walking distance of many of the museums and churches I wanted to visit, it's clean, largely quiet, and while not high-end, is still comfortable for a solo traveler. Most importantly, the staff of the hotel are unfailingly friendly and helpful, and speak a wide range of languages. A great stay at reasonable rates. Recommended.
We feel at home each time we stay at this hotel in the Latin Quarter. If you are new to Paris, and/ or value personalized advice from locals about where to go, what to do, and how to get there, this is the place for you! Conveniently located within a five minute walk of Notre Dame, great restaurants and a daily outdoor market, we especially like the fact that the BW Cluny Le Jardin is easy to get to. Just take the RER from CDG airport for 10 euros each, get off at St. MIchel / Notre Dame Metro stop, and with minimal underground walking and going up only a couple of escalators ( no stairs) the walk to the hotel takes less than ten minutes. The front desk staff are very helpful and we consider Andre and Andrea special friends after all the special care and guidance they have given us over the years. The rooms are well-designed and spacious by Paris standards. Breakfast, which is included if you book your stay directly on the hotel website, includes old standards such as scrambled eggs, cereals and toast as well as new favourites such as French cheeses, pastries and fruit. We highly recommend this hotel.
Well located in Latin Quarter. Just off Blvd St. Germaine so easy access to Metro, city buses and L'Open Bus. Rooms small but modernized. Very nice bathroom. Beware of double rooms facing the street (rue du Sommerard) which can be noisy. Classic double rooms are in back and really quiet. Breakfast was ample although there are several patisseries nearby. Special treat is the lounge one floor down from reception where we gathered nightly to debrief. Will definitely return!
Polite staff, and close proximity to the Cluny museum of medieval art, Notre Dame, and St Michael dining were appealing features to me. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathroom modern. A security. safe in the room was also an attractive benefit.
We have visited this hotel many times and it is always good and well located. You can walk to many main sights from here including Notre Dame and the River Seine, Jardin de Luxembourg. The rooms are small but very clean and tidy. Breakfast is good though on one morning a teenage group had eaten before us and the staff did not replenish the buffet. Different staff the next day were more industrious.
My husband and I had a great weekend in Paris, and loved this wonderful hotel! Location can't be better - 1 minute from Maubert metro station and San Germain blvd., 5 minutes from Notre Dam cathedral, the Pantheon or Saint Michel fountain. 6-7 minutes to the beating heart of the 6th quarter busy nightlife area with all the bars and restaurants you vould wish for. All the staff was attentive, welcoming and smiled all the time (Andrea in specific was charming!) Breakfast - dame every morning but good and fresh with a selection of local cheeses, sliced meats, eggs, yogurts, fruits, cereals and baked goods. Wi-fi in the room was free and very fast! Only downside was the room decor which we found to be a bit dated, however room was clean and very quiet. Check hotel's website for best rates! (We found it was cheaper than booking.com) We'd love to return to this hotel for our future get aways... Merci BW Cluny!
We were very impressed with the hotel and stayed on the top floor in the deluxe room. The breakfast was included in our 3 nights for 2 offer and we were very pleased with the quality and amount. The room was not large but plenty big enough. Being so close to Metro / St Michel main line station made it easy to get to. We flew in to Charles De Gaulle and successfully completed the RER B direct to the above and had a five minute walk to the hotel. We walked to lots of places direct from the hotel and also bought the 10 metro ticket offer to share between us for longer journeys. The Latin Quarter is a few minutes stroll from the hotel and there are lots of fixed price restaurants to choose from, and nice places to sit and drink in the evening. Our favourites were The Longhop and a fab pizza / Italian restaurant which was right in the centre of the little street area. One day we travelled to Versailles using the RER C which went direct to the station near the palace . Much cheaper than a bus trip. We did buy entry tickets on line prior to our trip, which meant we avoided the long queues.
We selected this hotel based on reviews and the location . It was great. We came in by the tgv in to Lyons station, hopped on bus 63 and got off the college of Paris stop . It is a short walk to the hotel. The location is great , you can walk to museum , shops and restaurant,or if you prefer caught a bus or use the metro. The rooms are small but clean and since you are out most of the day it was fine. There is a Starbucks and grocery store called monoprix ..a few blocks away on St. Michele... A great place to pick up fruit, cheese, wine , yogurt and water etc... . We caught the ref b a few blocks down the street to the airport, it makes a few stops and then goes direct from nord station. The front desk spoke English and were very helpful. The Internet was not the best and you have to resign in a lot. So the was a little annoying,as you would get disconnected when I called the front desk , he blew me off saying the Wifi was fine ... When why was I calling. Beside that the hotel was fine and on a pretty quite street with the windows closed. For the price , I think the place is good place to stay.
Sooooooo.... glad we stayed here. Great location to walk (and we are 70 & 70+ with some limitations) to many Paris museums, churches (including Notre Dame) and landmarks i.e. Pantheon. A cab stand and easy metro and bus connections to the rest of Paris were around the corner. This is a lively business/residential area with Sorbonne student population having sophisticated fun. Cabarets featuring music and can-can entertainment with introductions in English as well as French available at nearby i.e. Paradis Latin. Lovely intimate boutique hotel on a small quiet one way street 1 block from noisey major Rue St. Germaine, a major shopping thoroughfare. Do not form any preconceived notions about this hotel because it is a Best Western property. While the rooms are tight, there is nothing resembling the hotel/motel chain we have experienced here is the USA. Fantastic attentive staff that go out of the way to provide necessary local calls to confirm tour reservations, make recommendations and deliver top-notch service. After checking in we were not keen about our first floor accommodations after staying 1 night due to personal privacy preferences. No problem for this hotel. While we were out sightseeing the next day they moved us up to the 4th floor without needing to repack everything for no extra charge. To accomplish this, they would have needed to make several trips because while there is an elevator (lift), it is very very small. Also we believe we accidentally left my health cards in the safe of room 1 or 2, they found them and mailed them to us at home in the US with a gracious note enclosed. While breakfast (17 euros) is offered daily at the hotel we opted for a very short 2-block walk to 2 of 3 less pricey eateries daily. We preferred a small sit down or take away (take out) spot offering huge stemmed glasses of fresh squeezed OJ, a variety of fresh baked croissants and tatins, custom eggs and omelets, and if you prefer gigantic cups of cafe au lait. What it lacked in ambiance, it made up for in friendliness and service. By the end of the week, we were old friends with the proprietor. Also at this same intersection every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday there is a small flea/fruits and vegetable market with a permanent bakery, cheese shop, charcuterie, wine shop and itty bitty inexpensive corner grocery store in the adjacent buildings. Staying at this hotel was like having Paris at your fingertips. And did I forget to mention all the great restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Our favorites were Le Petit Prince de Paris, very cozy and appointed with loads of charm and Le Pre Verre, only 1 minute away whose chef and wait staff made us feel like old friends insisting we take away some packages of spices used to make some of their wonderful entrees. The charming, typically parisienne Le Coupe Chou across the quaint alleyway from Le Petit Prince is also worth mentioning. All were reasonably priced. Balzar Brasserie was good too. It is adjacent to the Cluny Museum was pricier and more formal. A throwback to a more traditional bistro. We had the special of the day at lunchtime to make our dinner more affordable and opted for a lighter fare that evening. We ran out of nights before we ran out of great local restaurants. Everywhere we went we met wonderful people and wait staff who all were more that willing to help us make dinner selections and spoke English and were never put off by the fact we could not speak French except for bonjour, bonsoir, oui, and merci. We would stay here again in a flash. We are sure you will agree if you do, too.
A lovely hotel: warm and welcoming, free drinks on arrival was a nice touch, great breakfast, friendly staff, very clean, good value. Easy links to metro, short walk to St. Michel & Notre Dame - perfect.
Went to Paris with my best friend to celebrate our mutual 50th birthdays. We wanted to stay in the Latin Quarter and this hotel was close by but not so close to things as to be noisy (we like our sleep! ). The hotel is well located, being just off the Boulevard Saint-Germain and a 5 minute walk from the nearest RER station and the banks of the Seine. To get to the restaurants and nightlife we simply had to cross the main road. It's also very handy for Notre Dame and the gorgeous Jardins de Luxembourg. The public areas are spotlessly clean and the staff on the reception very welcoming - in particular Andre, who put up with our attempts to speak French with great charm and humour. There is a small but comfortable lounge area in the basement with an honesty bar and a laptop for guest's use (WiFi is free but limited, it would not allow WhatsApp messaging, for example) and beneath that, the cellar breakfast room. Breakfast was not included in our room price and was rather expensive - although to be fair it was a buffet style 'eat as much as you like' spread so if you are the sort who enjoys a big breakfast it is probably a good deal. It all looked very good but as neither of us are big breakfast eaters we headed out to the local cafés (which are plentiful) and grabbed a croissant there. The room itself (405) was pretty, comfortable and absolutely tiny - I've been to Paris many times before, I know how small the rooms can be, but this was the smallest double room I've ever seen. There was about 1 foot of floor space all around the double bed (slightly larger than standard but not a king size). Thankfully my friend and I are fairly close, but we couldn't get changed at the same time, there just wasn't room! The bathroom was well equipped and modern, although there was a slight gap in the shower screen when fully closed. The shower itself was a decent pressure but had been built for a giant - neither of us are short but this was about 7 foot up the wall... The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. There was a tea tray, kettle and 2 bottles of water laid out, which was a nice touch, also a minibar and safe in the wardrobe. The hairdryer worked well and there was a flat screen TV on the wall opposite the bed which let us watch a variety of channels (none were English language that we saw, but that's part of the fun of being abroad for me, watching adverts in another language ??). I would recommend this hotel for a short break, as it's a great location and really well kept, but unless I could specify a larger room, I wouldn't stay here for longer than a weekend.
Le Jardin was booked by our travel agent as part of an airline package--and we couldn't have been happier with her choice! The staff was outstanding--helpful and approachable--and the hotel and our room were absolutely beautiful. The hotel is near several metro stops, and walking distance to Notre Dame, the museums, gardens, the Seine...and, although it's a long walk, the Eiffel Tower. We'll be back!
Nice staff. Hotel room is tiny to say the least. The show had no water pressure. Bed was soft and hard to sleep. Had an honor bad in the basement but no ice and no selection. Breakfast was good but basic. In the future I'll select another hotel.
We stayed with a small group (20) for 4 nights in September. Overall great experience. The rooms are modern and clean--they have done a great job of fitting a hotel in several old buildings. The breakfast was very good--excellent variety--excellent start to a full day in Paris. The location is excellent--a surprisingly quiet street in the heart of the Latin Quarter. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend, and I will stay here on my next trip to Paris.
This was the hotel for the second leg of my trip after a desert adventure in Morocco, and coming back to Paris to our deluxe room was well worth it. The room was clean, modern, well kept and awesome. Great location for walking to Notre Damn or the Louvre. Good restaurants around and a very friendly staff. A modern gem in an old, beautiful building.
Just had a 3 night stay here and can't praise the staff highly enough. Hotel isn't big and our room was compact but for the price, worth every penny. The ladies on reception are so nice and couldn't be more helpful and our room was immaculate. Many thanks. Enjoyed our stay.
Nice little hotel in a great location. We were walking distance from Notre Dame, Pantheon, Sorbonne, and two streets St Germaine and St Michael that had tons of kiosks, cafes and public transportation. They take your key each time you leave and you have to check in at the desk when you return, so you feel secure. We did not have the breakfast, but would walk for a delicious croissants at the shops not far at all. There is also a Laundromat steps away which was convenient to help with our packing light. Down the street on the corner is a little restaurant which was recommended by Rick Steves, "Le Pre Verre", yum. Our room was accessible via an antique elevator, very tiny but workable, they take your luggage up for you. If you don't like small spaces, you can take the stairs. Also, our room had a separate "toilet room" which, if you are big or tall, good luck! Staff was helpful and friendly, would stay there again if we return to Paris.
My tenth visit to this Hotel. Warm long standing staff Andrea, Andre & Karine are fun & welcoming. Good range of well equipped rooms. Pleasant lounge areas & good Breakfast with homely staff. Have used both for group & solo visits for over 16 years & it remains consistent as well as being in a great location between Notre Dame & The Pantheon. Also easy walk from Metro after 20 mins from Gare du Nord. Myself & colleagues look forward to our next visit in Feb '17. Thanks. Tim
We stayed there during the EURO 2016 for about a week. Given its very central location in a beautiful part of Paris and the usual space houses and rooms receive due to this central location the rooms were very compact. They were also clean and equipped with flat screen TVs, WiFi access, tea cooker and all the usual central European amenities. One of the highlights might be the breakfast room in the basement. It's a stone cellar with arched ceiling. The breakfast itself is delicious, but a bit pricey compared to what you might get some streets up the district in the boulangeries.
We had a perfectly enjoyable visit for three nights at this property in Sept. It's tucked into a quiet side street in the university district of the Latin Quarter, a short walk from the Sorbonne, the Medieval museum and the Blvd. St. Germaine. The room we had was modern, clean, and, for Paris, relatively spacious. The staff here is excellent: friendly, helpful, fluent in English. For US travelers, it was a comfortable and enjoyable location. We'd stay there again.
We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Le Jardin de Cluny and recommend it. It is a small hotel one block off of busy Rue St Jacques which makes it a great location for various left bank activities and restaurants as well as so convenient to the historic core of Paris while on a quiet street. While the room is on the smaller side, we had plenty of space to unpack and the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. They are a "green" hotel. In that spirit, the shower/bath has a container with a combined shower shampoo gel that I didn't like but probably is the ecological choice. No moisturizer provided (glad I brought some) or hair conditioner. The staff was good.
What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! It's conveniently located near Notre Dame. The rooms are typical of European rooms....small, but everything was clean and the small balcony was an added treat! The breakfast buffet was well stocked with fruit, yogurt, cereals, cold cuts, sweet breads etc; it was an additional 17 euros but worth it as eating in Paris is very expensive...unless you just want to stop at a cafe for a coffee and croissant. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and had one of the two rooms we needed ready even though we got there at 9 a.m. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
The Best Western brand provides a level of assurance of quality for independent hotels that have their own unique charm. Wi-fi and mini-refrigerator are BW standards, as is the in-room kettle for convenient tea-making. This small hotel is close to being the ideal way to enjoy the heart of Paris in the Latin Quarter, within sight of the spire of Notre Dame. Our only significant complaint is a common problem in Europe -- a tub-shower without a full enclosure, which sprays the floor (and makes good use of the bath mat as a sponge). It's better than a ratty shower curtain! Front-desk service is excellent. We would definitely return. I'm a Diamond member of Best Western Rewards, but I don't think I received any more special treatment than any other guests -- who were always being treated graciously at the front desk.
Recently stopped in a Classic room. Fortunately the hotel managed to get me a room with a bath as I was told most of the classic rooms only have showers. The bath is a big thumbs up for the room!!!! Nice hotel, modern feel, mini bar in room and free wifi throughout. I had the breakfast too which was a great spread - nice touch. A hotel centrally located, very close to Notre Dame and not far from all the major attractions. Great hotel. I would definitely stop here again
What a terrific hotel. We had stayed in this hotel in 2015 and the staff remembered us when we booked in one year later in September 16. We felt very honoured. Our room was delightful and very clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is so central. The staff are very helpful and friendly and breakfast was delightful. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.
We rented an apartment through VRBO about a block from this hotel but the apartment didn't have a/c. It was an historically hot stretch when were in Paris so we made the move to the Le Jardin de Cluny. BEST decision ever. They were very helpful, understanding and accommodating. The location is super with a quick walk to Notre Dame and to many restaurants. Our room was a jr suite and the hotel was quiet and clean.
We had a sick child our first night at the hotel, and the staff was fantastic. He called and a physician made a housecall at the hotel! And, when we needed our prescription filled at 10:00 p.m., they directed us to the nearest pharmacy that was open. Their concern for our well being was wonderful, really I cannot thank them enough!! The breakfast was delicious and VERY plentiful! The staff at breakfast was great, with hot and cold food & drink. Beds and room were very comfortable, and very quiet at night. Bathroom was spacious with slippers and bathrobes - great touch for tired travelers! We could see Notre Dame from our bathroom window. We were pretty high up, not sure what other room views are.
This is a great location for Paris stay. The front desk clerks were extremely caring, helpful, and friendly. Clean, nice sized room and bathroom. Elevator for top floors. The breakfast options were plentiful. I would always choose this hotel for Paris stays.
We only stayed one night but the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is on a quite street near to Notre Dame. There are good bars and restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet was the best we had on a tour of Europe. The only slight negative was that the room wasn't the largest but they didn't cause too many problems. Recommended.
It was the first holiday with my boyfriend so we wanted to spend a nice weekend away. Everything was great. The room was beautiful, on the top floor with a lovely roof window. Bathroom was great as well and they changed bed and bath towels everyday.
My daughter and I stayed here last week on her first trip to Paris. The location is excellent, the a/c worked very well (it was nearly 100 degrees when we were there), the rooms were clean and comfortable, but the welcoming English speaking staff made it the best stay of our trip to France! I communicated with three different staff members and all three gentlemen were helpful and know the city. One even walked us down the correct street when we first arrived. They printed out boarding passes, called for us a ride to ye airport, and laughed and joked with us! We felt very at home there and would not hesitate to ho back! Thank you for a great stay!!!
My mom and daughter and I stayed here for one week. It was wonderful. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Beds, pillows, duvet all so soft and comfortable. Great quiet street and close walking distance to so much. Run along the Seine every morning!!! Public transportation is easy and close too.
I came here with my boyfriend for my birthday in the spring and stayed in this cute little hotel. It was a lovely surprise to realise how close it was to the Latin quarter, Notre Dame, the seine etc... The hotel was undergoing some refurbishments but that didn't bother us as we were out from 9am-9pm every day. The receptionists were so lovely and very attentive. It's a petite hotel with the basic necessities but I loved it. I'm not one for grand rooms so this was perfect. I'd love to return and see how it looks now with the refurbishments complete.
This was everything and a lot more, super clean, modern and the service rocked our socks off! From the front desk staff to the taxi service, delicious breakfasts every morning, even a little honesty bar, they made us feel so welcome, no matter what time we requested their services. We booked a deluxe room, nr 502 and it was very comfortable. The tiny lift adds to the charm of this place. Within walking distance of almost everything, we were delighted with our choice of accommodation.
This hotel is in the Latin Quarter, our room had a view of Notre Dame. All correspondence prior to arrival were done online, our room was ready an early check-in upon arrival. We reserved the largest room which is on the top floor, it is a great option for families. The hotel is quiet, never did we hear noise from other rooms, the hallway, or the street. An elevator and staircase provide access to each floor. The breakfast area in the basement is inviting and the selection provided for breakfast was wonderful. This hotel is clean & updated, the staff is professional & responsive. I recommend this hotel and we will stay here again our next time in Paris.
This hotel is a little challenging to find the first time, but worth it. It is close to Notre Dame and the metro, yet in a quiet neighborhood. Front desk staff is quite helpful. Our room was lovely, compact yet, clean and quiet. We rested well here and will stay here again when next in Paris.
Location: This is a great hotel in Central Paris. It's located in a quiet district, but near sights such as Notre Dame and The Pantheon. Metro station is less than 5 minutes walk away. Staff: Very friendly staff with almost perfect English. Rooms: Modern, comfortable, clean and big enough. The only negative was the lift being so small. We were 4 people and it wasn't very comfortable. Also the price was high due to EURO 2016.
Reasonable hotel in a great location on the edge of the Latin Quarter. Notre Dame and the Ile de la Cite both a short walk away. Receptionist was excellent with a great sense of humour, which can be unusual in Paris. However, the room was minuscule and very hot so didn't make for a very comfortable night. It was a double room but wouldn't have worked for two people. Pay more for a larger room if you're heading to Paris for a romantic stay.
Great little hotel from which to explore Paris - very near to maubert metro stop Staff very friendly and room was lovely They have left luggage facility Hotel is over 5 floors and the lift is tiny so guess it could take time during busy times. Mainly used the stairs but only really took one person with luggage
we stayed here for 2 nights during our first visit to Paris. Location: This hotel is located in Latin Quarters neighborhood (amazing place) of Paris. About 15 mins drive from train station, 15 mins drive from Eiffel Tower and 10 mins drive from Louvre museum. Latin quarter is amazing neighborhood with tons of bars and restaurants. Hotel: Very clean and well maintained hotel. Very friendly staff. They had amazing basement area for breakfast buffet. Though we found the breakfast buffet to be expensive (about 17 euros per person) so didn't try it. Very friendly and helpful staff.
My niece and I stayed for three nights in May. Very nice and comfortable hotel. Was pleasantly surprised by the room size as it was larger than others where I have previously stayed in Paris. Bathroom was larger than expected, too. Beds were very comfortable. Convenient walking distance to Latin Quarter, Notre Dame and other nearby sites. Located on a street so quiet that we were able to sleep with the window open. Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. Very affordable rates. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Stayed for four nights. Hotel is in a great location, around a 3-4 minute walk to nearest metro station and from there you can also access the RER with direct line to CDG airport. The room (King sized) was comfortable and cleaned to a high standard. Bathroom was surprisingly spacious with bath and over bath shower. Hairdryer provided was powerful enough for my long thick hair. Staff were pleasant and also kindly reserved a table for us at a restaurant of our choosing. We did not have breakfast in the hotel. There are numerous places nearby for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Would recommend this hotel in particular for its location.
Lovely hotel in a perfect location. The room was clean & modern, if not a little compact. But when researching a hotel to stay at in Paris, the general gist is not to expect a massive room. We were okay as we only had 2 hand luggage size cases. However, if you were travelling with larger cases, I'm not sure where you'd have put them.? The staff were friendly & very helpful, and the location is idea for exploring all over Paris. We'll definitely look at this hotel again if we go back.
Location is convenient to several metro and RER stops, walking distance to Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame, la Sorbonne, the Pantheon, and the gem of a museum, le Musée de Cluny. The front desk staff is very helpful and knowledgeable - we ate well every night based on their recommendations, and got to the sights we wanted to see at times that worked well for avoiding giant crowds of tourists.
This hotel is located in the Latin quarter. Within a 5 minute walk to numerous restaurants, the metro, and Notre Dame. The rooms are modern, but still have old fashioned looking large windows that open all the way and the free breakfast is served in the basement, which is a beautiful stone cellar. Rooms are clean, quiet, modern, bust still have a little charm. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The female who works during the day helped me immediately any time I required assistance and she did so with a smile. Our room was a little small, but well appointed.
The hotel was reasonable, clean and in a great location. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There are many good smaller restaurants nearby.Walk, use Metro or bus, which are all close by. There is a great market only a few blocks away where you can get meat, cheese, wine, bread, fruit and veggies. Ask the staff for recommendations. Hotel breakfast is expensive.
This is a quaint hotel in a Terrific location located near Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Germain Blvd, near major attractions and transportation lines. The staff are terrific; hotel is spotless and very quiet. We had a restful stay and were able to walk to many restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc. Loved the King Beds.
Well, this is our fourth stay here, so obviously we like it. We always get a deluxe room, which faces the Rue Latran behind the hotel and has a superb king size bed and separate WC. However, the cheaper queen room across the hall is perfectly nice as well, if you don't mind a smallish space. The pros are, as always: very pleasant, English speaking staff; brilliant location, five minutes walk to the river, ten to the Marais and the Louvre; and a great St. Germain neighborhood to explore if you just want to hang. It is a stone's throw from Le Twickenham, a bistro on St. Germain with plenty of prix fixe deals and good food. (Oysters 16E a dozen.) Also Place Maubert has a fromagerie, two patisseries and traiteur, and there's a Franprix grocery next to Le Twick. There's even a laundromat if you need it. I would only say that if you don't eat a lot at breakfast, you can get cheaper, hot cooked ones a short walk away. The hotel's is buffet only, best for la grande bouffe to tide you over until later. That said, we got the internet deal with breakfast included, which was a no-brainer. This really is a great place that will help keep your costs down so you can splurge elsewhere. Try it!
The Best Western Jardin De Cluny is an excellent hotel in Paris. It's and updated modern hotel with reasonable rates, wonderful service, super breakfast in the beautifully designed downstairs cave. Great staff, who will assist you with any request. And, They speak numerous languages. The hotel is located in the heart of Paris. It's walking distance to all major museums and Notre Dame. The metro station and bus stops are close by.The staff will also arrange airport transport at very reasonable rates. We highly recommend this hotel. We stayed six nights and will book with them again when we return to Paris.
We booked a junior suite for 3 nights over a weekend. Very pleasant reception staff. Room was lovely. It's small - but I suspect that's common in big cities - the bed was large though. The room was modern looking and clean, with tea/coffee making area, a bath and large sink, plus a toilet in a separate area (though this was tiny when the door was shut!). The room was surprisingly quiet and I didn't need ear plugs to sleep (I often do in hotels). Our room was across a courtyard, with a separate lift to access the rooms on that side. The lift is very cramped: but the spiral staircase is a door away, and very nice looking! When I booked this I thought the hotel might be a little too far from tourist stuff - but it's really close to Notre Dame and the Seine. We also walked to the Louvre from here, which took about 15 minutes at a relaxed pace. Definitely would recommend this for the location. Breakfast was a couple of floors under reception - not signposted very well, and on our first day we got a little confused by that. Breakfast itself was a selection of breads and pastries, with tea and coffee on request from the staff. In case it's useful, although we spoke in French to most of the staff they answered us in English - so I imagine if you don't have much French knowledge you'd still be fine. We were given a code for wifi when we checked in - and didn't have any trouble connecting or using the internet on phones and tablets.
Our room was very small, but we were only there to sleep - too busy enjoying the city. The breakfast was fine, less choice than other hotels, but less choice made it easier and probably healthier. Beautiful coffee. The hotel staff were great and couldn't do enough for us.
Really nice hotel in Latin quarters for a decent price. I traveled with a group of friends and stayed two nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel seems newly renovated, so everything is very clean and nice. The rooms are small, but more than enough for a weekend in Paris. The street outside is very calm. You do hear your neighbors in the corridor, though, but it doesn't bother med. I really recommend this hotel!
We stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room. Our room was tiny! However it had everything we needed, despite being slightly cramped. All of the fittings were new and it was clean. Our bathroom had a frosted glass door, which I wasn't keen on. Our friends had a King room, which I would go for next time. Reception was helpful and the location was great, really close to Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. Guest umbrellas were much appreciated on a rainy weekend! We would stay here next time we go to Paris, although opt for a bigger room.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was in a quiet neighborhood but still really close to metro, small grocery, great bakery, market, etc.. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and I'd stay there again!
Daughter picked this due to location. The hotel is smallish and the stairs to the lower level were beinh refinished. DO NOT RECOMMEND for handicapped or wheel chair persons.Too small. Wife and i fit on elevator without luggage. Luggag had to be sent up separately.
We stayed in the junior suite (top floor) for 5 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful, including the restaurant staff. We had a slight problem that the heating system was not working properly in our room and there was an offensive smell coming from somewhere (presumably bathroom drains) - the hotel staff negotiated a form of compensation which was well managed and organised a temporary electric heater to rectify that problem. Otherwise the suite was charming, well furnished, clean and very comfortable. Had a glimpse view of Notre Dame Cathedral from our bathroom. Breakfast choices was good in the cosy lower ground floor restaurant. Overall a very enjoyable stay and the location is IDEAL for a city holiday in the beautiful city of Paris. Good choice of restaurants in the local Latin Quarter area with Notre Dame on our doorstep. We walked along the river Seine to the Eiffel Tower in the sunshine (an hour walk at steady pace). We also walked from Basilique back to hotel stopping off at a few patisseries on the way! Great memories taken away from this stay. Taxi from Gare Du Nord to hotel and vice versa very reasonable - 15-20 Euros. Will definitely recommend to friends & family.
I visited again after a year and was surprised to see a major renovation lifting it to a 4 starst hotel. Saying this it remained highly friendly same crew for the last twenty years and they are alkl helpful and efficient. It has a prime location to all movements in Paris . It is advisable to book in the hotel site.
As a Best Western fan, I had high hopes for the Jardin de Cluny location. And the property delivered. Using Paris as a base for several excursions last month, we visited this Best Western three times over a three-week period. In three different rooms. All were quiet, clean and a welcome home-away-from-home during our trip. Andrea, at the front desk, is not only knowledgeable about the area and beyond, she is personable, helpful and has a terrific memory. A real pleasure to interact with. The location couldn't be better. From CDG airport, it's just a quick RER ride to the St. Michel/Notre Dame metro stop and only a two or so block walk from there. The surrounding neighborhood is easy to navigate with wine, cheese, meat, and bread shops nearly at your doorstep. And don't miss the morning open air market just down the block! One of the elevators is very small (typical of old European buildings), but it presented no problem. The rooms are quiet with street noise only coming through an open window (we hate heat and always turn it down and open the windows). In-room coffee and tea were adequate. Can't comment on the breakfast as there were so many choices in the neighborhood. You won't be disappointed!
Great hotel, friendly helpful staff and a quiet location. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. We had the Zen room very modern and pretty. Would stay here again. Very close to Luxembourg Gardens.
Room was very clean. Staffs were very friendly, helpful and kind. Location is great, quiet and convenience, 5 minutes walk to Notre Dame Paris. There are great restaurants around. The price is good with great value.
This is a great hotel tucked away in a quiet street in the Latin Quarter. The staff are extremely helpful, amazingly friendly and this made our stay in Paris so enjoyable. I must mention some of the staff by name to say thank you - Katine, Paul, Marie Therese and Andre. The hotel is a perfect base for a city break in Paris - if you are planning a visit, we can thoroughly recommend Le Jardin de Cluny.
Service was great, very helpful and friendly. The whole hotel seemed very modern including the rooms, which were well set out and used the small space available very well. The location is the main attraction, walking distance from so many sites and the Latin quarter, there's so much to do!
We usually stay in self-catering but only needed a place for a few nights. We like the Latin Quarter and this had great reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel front/desk had everything for us and gave us a large room because my husband is so tall. The room was quiet, bed was comfortable, and the shower was good-- even provided wash cloths. The breakfast was good -- croissants, meats & cheese. The staff was helpful and most accommodating.
We were visiting this place in late October and we stayed for 3 days in all. We both loved the property and the hospitality of the staff members. The rooms were big and spacious. We liked the privacy which was offered and the noise free environment. We would definitely recommend this hotel for other travellers
This was my 3rd stay at Jardin de Cluny, I was so pleased to find that the standard of care remains so consistently high. The hotel is in a great location, with so much in easy reach. We had breakfast, which was typically Continental, fresh and plentiful. Our room was clean and comfortable and, considering the location, surprisingly quiet at night. Would definitely recommend.
Room was very clean, and hotel staff is very friendly. Great! location with excellent Japanese restaurant next door. Metro is very close as is the Latin quarter. Breakfast buffet is pricy and not worth it, there are many bakeries in the area for brkfast A little unusual for a Best Western not to include breakfast in the price.
Stayed in Paris for a week in November 2015. The hotel was in a great location. Just steps from the Latin Quarter and about a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. The hotel itself was very quiet and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were there during the terrorist attacks and I must say, we were so grateful to be coming back to this hotel at the end of the day. It was a nice little refuge in the heart of the chaos. There are loads of restaurants nearby, along with independent markets on every corner and supermarkets just a few minutes away. We didn't try the hotel breakfast because there were two great restaurants within literally a two minute walk that we ended up hitting at least a few times each, even for just a snack or drink ("Le Metro" & "Village Ronsard"). Our favorite part of the location of this hotel was the restaurant "Les Delices du Fornil" that has a cart out front and is just at the end of the block. I think we stopped by there at least once a day. The staff was so incredibly friendly and the food was excellent. Everything from the pastries to the crepes to the pizza. Great place to get food and bring it back to the room. As for the actual room, it was very comfortable, but pretty small for two adults with luggage. It is Europe, so we were expecting to have small rooms, but just beware that the room is very basic. The toilet was in a completely separate room from the rest of the bathroom- I like this, but the toilet area was so tight, there was barely enough room to turn around. I think the only thing I didn't like about this hotel room was the shower. It was a tub/ shower combo, but there was a glass wall that only covered about a foot past the shower head. Everything else was wide open, no shower curtain, etc... We just always had problems not getting water everywhere. One big thing to mention, make sure you are not in a rush if you have luggage and are on anything but the first floor. I think we were on the 4th floor and we could only fit one person and one piece of luggage in the elevator at a time and the elevator is not fast. It really isn't a problem, but don't be expecting this hotel to be on a grand scale like the hotels in the US are. Would definitely stay here again!
Chose this hotel after reading the reviews and wasn't disappointed. We wanted somewhere as a base to explore Paris for a few days. Our classic room although small had everything we needed and was very clean. The staff were all friendly and able to give advice on metro and dining. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of choice . The room was very warm and a comfy bed.. The Latin quarter and Notre dame are very close as are transport links. (Although better directions from RER to hotel would've helped.) Great stay , would recommend .
Centrally located. Walking distance to the metro. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The lift is very small and is very slow. It was a quiet location and delivered everything we needed.
I think the best part of this property is its amazing location in the Latin Quarter of Paris. A stones throw from Notre Dame, this property is a great starting point to start your adventure in the city of light. The room is more spacious than I had expected. We booked a Superior Queen. Our room was on the top floor and had a street view. The room had a mini fridge which was great for storing drinks. There are also mini bar options for what I felt were reasonable prices. Air conditioning worked great. Bathroom was a reasonable size with a tub and sink; toilet was in a separate closet. Room was a bit drab with dark reds and dark carpet, bed was hard and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was sorely lacking I would go elsewhere, although seeing the breakfast room is worth the journey to the basement. The men reception staff were very nice and helpful, the women were not. I don't understand this but it was a clear observation, not being gender biased I am a woman myself. Check-in was smooth, reception called upon taxi at our request and taxi service arrived within 5 minutes each time. Ordered take-out delivery from a local Japanese restaurant and had an amazing meal in our room. Hotel staff assisted with the language barrier by translating our delivery order to the restaurant. This was above and beyond. This property is a great bet for the budget minded traveler that does not plan to spend their time in this amazing city in their room.
Had a lovely stay in this hotel. Really comfortable bed in the deluxe room that we stayed in, however quite small. Bathroom tiles could do with regrouting. Noisey from early morning on the Monday (drills and banging). Great location approx 5 mins from Notre dame. The train station from airport is also located by Notre dame.
This hotel was fantastic. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were much larger than I anticipated and the bathrooms were modern and clean. My husband and I stayed in two different rooms because we visited the hotel two separate times throughout our trip. Both experiences were fantastic. The location could not possibly be more ideal. Awesome neighborhood, walking distance to so many of the Paris attractions and very close to key Metro stops.
Fabulous hotel. Great staff. Lovely rooms. Location excellent for walking everywhere. Close to Notre Dame and the Pantheon. Loads of great places to eat to suit every budget. They arranged taxi to CDG for us and gave us great directions on how to get there via Metro from Disney land Paris. Couldn't have been more helpful.
Located a street away from a main boulevard it was surprisingly quiet .A walkable distance from the heart of Paris , 500 metres away from the Notre Dame and the whole area has more than its fair share of restaurants of all types . The staff are very polite , friendly and helpful which is rare in Paris and the hotel itself is fairly modern , clean and well decorated. The breakfast is very good , containing cold meats , cheeses , cereals , bread and pastries, The coffee is particularly good so best to fill up before leaving the hotel as coffee is expensive in Paris. There is a Metro close by and also buses but if you like walking then everywhere is achievable on foot. I like the buzz of this area , culturally it is very ethnically mixed and even has a 100% vegetarian restaurant close by.
We stayed here for four nights (Dec 19-23). Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are bright, clean and contain everything you need. Good enough size. The elevator is so tiny. Bathroom with a normal size tub/shower was nice. The room's main window looked out over a quiet street with a church at the end. The best part of this hotel is the location. Quick walk to lots of places to eat, Notre Dame, the river, Shakespear and Company. If you have time you can even walk to the Eiffel tower. We walked everywhere for 4 days. Took a cab the first night to the catacombs then walked back to the hotel. The next day we walked to the Orsay, L'Orangerie, walked up the Champs, walked to the Arc de Triumph and then walked to the Eiffel tower. We then took a cab home. Day 3 was walking to Notre Dame, Saint Chapell, the Concergie, Louvre and then home. The last day was Galleries Lafeyette (View from the top was amazing) and exploring that area and then walking back. Not too far up the river from the hotel in The Great Canadian Pub. Great place to stop in for a friendly beer and they will find whatever hockey game you want to watch on the NHL Website already finished but you can watch from start to finish. We had a great time in Paris. Everyone for the most part was extremely friendly and helpful. It was such an easy city to walk, explore and to stop and have a wine or beer.
The hotel is within walking distance of the primary tourist spots in central Paris. Takes a couple of minutes to get orientated. if you do not like walking then 150-200 meters from the underground maze they call the French Metro. Staff that I met were very friendly and accepted my very broken French while being very conversant in English Room clean - bed was great. Yes it was small but larger than a previous trip to Paris. All in all - great choice.
Stayed 4 nights at this property which is wonderfully located in the Parisian Latin quarter. There are plenty of reasonably priced dining options within 10 minutes walk. The hotel has its own breakfast offering but this was limited during our stay because of renovations. We chose this hotel because of its location convenient to many of the Parisian landmarks. We were not disappointed. It was a short stroll to either the Metro or bus stops. Our room on level 4 was compact to say the least but included an ensuite. The furnishings were practical and there were two windows that could be opened to a central void. The room was clean and tidy with daily servicing. The lift, while tiny, worked efficiently. The front desk staff were extremely helpful across a range of issues. They had extensive knowledge of local transport and dining options. Nothing appeared to be a problem! The major downside to staying here was that the walls between rooms were very thin and bathroom noises from the room next door to ours could easily be heard. Our neighbours were fortunately very considerate and the noises only started at a reasonable hour. All in all, a good value for money proposition!
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was perfectly situated. It was about 4 blocks from the Shakespeare bookstore; 5 blocks from Notre Dame; about a 20 minute walk to the Museum D'Orsay and Louvre! Perfect. I even walked to the Eiffel Tower from there. It took me about 45 minutes. I loved this hotel. The staff was so helpful and kind. My room was small but it had a very comfortable bed and big shower. Also, there was free WIFI throughout the hotel which is helpful! I will definitely stay here again when I return to Paris!
The hotel has a great location but it doesnt shine except in one respect, the front desk staff, they are quite prifessional and very multilingual. Otherwise there is nothing but small elevator to make the hotel stand out. This makes it a boring place to stay. Cleanliness - ok.
The reviews are right. It's in a perfect location; central, near a metro, restaurants and a corner shop to boot. Our room was diddy, but cosy and clean. I'd stay again and get a bigger room. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and pleasant common parts. Maps, umbrella, a computer, newspapers that kind of stuff too. Lovely breakfast ladies. Breakfast nice. It's a small hotel, mainly full of middle aged couples. We were one. I really would recommend.
We had a deluxe room during our stay in Paris. The location in the Latin Quarter is perfect; just a few blocks from Notre Dame. The service was friendly and breakfast was tasty. Our room was not large, but it was clean and modern. We could have not asked anything more. Great place to stay.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The location is excellent, a few minutes walk from the RER and metro stations and easy walking to all the main sites in Paris. We booked a standard room and it was fine for our needs. It was very compact but kept very clean and the bed was comfortable. We found the room to be uncomfortably hot, there was an air con panel but it didn't work. As it was November opening the window worked but this may be an issue in the Summer!
Great location and very helpful staff. Only a short stroll from the Cluny Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral. Area has a good variety of foreign restaurants. Room and elevator are very small. Breakfast buffet a little pricy.
I love this place so much that I would definitely go bak again. The room is slightly bigger in this hotel and the staffs were very friendly. The breakfast was pretty good although selections were limited. Overall I am very happy with this hotel.
Our first hotel on our trip to Paris, my wife and I were pleased by the welcome and service we received at this little hotel tucked away on a small street just a few blocks from the Seine. The hotel is compact and the rooms are petite but they are clean and quiet. The breakfast room is in the basement and offered a good selection of fresh food each morning. The location is great for exploring and there are plenty of variety stores nearby for snacks and drinks for the room. In the nearby neighbourhood of Maubert there are plenty of specialty shops (near the metro) and there is a farmer's market there on the weekends.
Room was sufficient and reasonably priced. For those traveling from USA, as a general rule, most every attraction in Europe has AC...but not an abundance of AC. We've stayed at nice hotels that struggled to get down to 78 degrees. This hotel was one of the more comfortable we stayed at and a decent bed. And for the price, a GREAT deal
We've stayed at Best Western Jardin de Cluny, Paris, France for 7 stays, located at the southern parralel road from Boulevard Saint Germain which makes it a quiet place but still have convenitent transporation, restaurant and laundry requirement. Excellent experience for our visit in Paris! We will stay here again when we visit Paris next time.
This hotel is in a terrific location in the Latin quarter of Paris and my husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. The reception staff were very thoughtful, engaging and efficient. Our room was compact and clean. In our room there were lovely French windows which opened and overlooked a lovely street. The breakfasts were a daily battle. The breakfast staff seemed reluctant to display helpful character traits. Getting an extra piece of cutlery or another plate or a pot of tea was a challenge. The breakfast food was adequate.
This hotel is in a great location, on a quiet street but close to Notre Dame and the Seine. Many good restaurants near by. All the desk personnel were very helpful and friendly, especially Andrea, who went above and beyond to help us. The room was clean, comfortable, and the whole building is eco friendly. We were also pleased with breakfast--the attendant was very friendly and helpful and there was a nice selection of food available.
Hotel was located in the area we wanted to stay. We had a deluxe room on the 5th floor and it had everything we needed. We were close to Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. It was easy to get around and had some of the best restaurants. I recommend you get the Batobus on the Sienna River, it makes 7 stops to museum's, tour Eiffel, Champs-Elysees and more. You can get it right at Notre Dame. Get on and off where ever you want. A great way to get to the major sites.
Amongst the most competent, informed and helpful front desk staff, you will come across. Well equipped and comfortable room, as well as centrally located position, close to sights, shops, transport and a variety of restaurants. Coming back to stay here again after exploring the rest of France.
The hotel was on a very quiet street and had good people there until the lady on Saturday got there, then it all went downhill very quickly. When we got there the lady at the front desk was great and was happy to give us all the directions, suggestions and anything we wanted. The evening man was great also because we needed to use the microwave downstairs and was happy to help us out. THEN ON SATURDAY MORNING ONE OF THE WORST MOST INCONCIDERATE PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET CAME TO WORK. She was very negative and didn't want to help us at all, perhaps it was just us because she seemed to treat everyone else ok. She tried to charge us for a breakfast we DID NOT eat, we did go downstairs but left immediately once we seen what they had and didn't want it. It was a great location and the wife would go back when we are in this area again but would just avoid the lady I spoke of earlier. I had a good room, ask for the 6 room on any floor and you will be quite happy.
We had a wonderful four night stay here. The front desk was top notch, so helpful and friendly. Andrea was amazing. A group arrived near the end of our stay, very disorganized, some had made reservations, others had not, but thought others in the group had made reservations for them. Andrea swiftly and kindly helped them out. We have visited Paris many times and this has become our favorite place to stay. We had a very nice room and we also enjoyed the breakfast.
This hotel has a good location in the Latin Quarter. The typical miniscule Parisian room was basic, but did not have adequate bedside reading lights and the spotlight overhead lighting in the bathroom is pretty hopeless for applying makeup. The carpeting in the public areas needs shampooing. Wifi was reduced to the public areas because of some equipment breakdown.
Located on a small street between rue St Germaine and Rue des Ecoles, this quiet hotel ifs ideally located for travelers who want to stay where everything is nearby ... Restaurants, shopping, boulangeries/patisseries, Ile de Cite, Musee de Cluny, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens are all within an easy walk. At least 3 Metro stops are also in that walk. The hotel is very clean, room was large enough to have an in room fridge - great for keeping water bottles and cheese cooled. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast. I would stay there again and recommend it to friends
Quietly located - near to the Pantheon - this hotel offers a quiet stay in Paris and is reasonably near St Michel Notre Dame Metro with direct route to Gare du Nord. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and a small flea market on Sundays
Spent three nights in this establishment. Found it to be close to Latin Quarter offerings and, by metro or taxi, equidistant to all parts of Paris. Staff bends over backwards to assist. The hotel has a tiny but has a functional elevator. There is no restaurant on the premises but a full breakfast buffet is offered for a small fee in a trendy basement facility. The hotel is small but offers all facilities as noted. We recommend it highly after having been in other establishments in central Paris in past years.
Pleasant hotel in quiet street near the Sorbonne; handy for the metro; an easy walk to Ile St Louis. Helpful, welcoming staff. Clean, air-conditioned , en-suite room with TV and fridge. Can't commment on catering as we breakfasted al fresco at a nearby brasserie so we could watch Paris waking up.
My husband I had a wonderful 6 days here in Paris. Our room was ready for when we arrived that morning which was lovely. Spacious, clean, modern rooms. Right in the heart of the latin quarter. Close to plenty of cafes and restaurants. We will definitely come back here again. Also Andre at the front desk is lovely!
Super location. Within walking distance of Notre Dame, plenty of restaurants, metro etc. Andrea & Andre at the front desk helped us with our shower problem, directions and calling cabs. Breakfast was good and staff helpful. This is a small hotel with smaller rooms as it's Paris, but you can unpack etc in them. Bath good size. Close to museum de Cluny, Luxembourg Gardens and Pantheon. ATM nearby. St. Germaine has everything including a market.
Stayed in this hotel back in October 2014 for a long weekend. The room we had was small, simple, clean, comfortable but nice - only used the hotel to sleep in. The hotel is in a great position, not far from the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame. The hotel is located in reasonably quiet back streets, so we weren't disturbed at night by lots of noise. Would use this hotel again and recommend it to others
Hotel is great, rooms are comfortable and bathroom is roomy and clean. The staff are friendly and breakfast was a great start to the date. The location was perfect - so close to Notre Dame. This was a great hotel, especially given how reasonably priced it was.
My fifteen year old granddaughter & I spent 7 nights at the Best Western Le Jardin de Cluny in Paris June 2015. We found the location to be excellent. There was a very nice cafe, 2 wonderful bakeries & a great cheese shop a block from the hotel. The Metro was also a block away. The room was very nice with a large window and an updated bathroom. The weather was very hot 90 - 102 degrees and the AC was able to cool our room very nicely. The staff was very friendly & helpful with directions, suggestions & arranging transportation to the airport. I am looking forward to staying at this hotel again when I return to Paris.
My friend and I wanted somewhere close to the main icons of Paris for our two day stay. This hotel was perfect. Easy walking to Notre Dame, Pont Neuf and Louvre. Excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Hotel staff very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
We stayed for 3 days and enjoyed the central location in the latin quarter, with Notre Dame some 5 min away by foot - as are 3 different metro stations. The staff at the reception was very attentive and friendly - making us feel really welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, quiet, and (for the "standard" size) well designed - only the elevator felt tiny. Even if you dont eat here, dont forget to visit the breakfast room in the medieval basement. We will definitely try to stay there again on our next Paris visit.
Nice and quiet, very good location near the noterdam. Very close to a metro station. Very clean rooms. Nice staff. Free wifi. The breajfest dosent really have a big variety of food, but its enough to start the morning with
I was a bit apprehensive at first staying a little distance away from the city centre, however the metro station is only 2 minute away and the area from what I saw in the evening and day time was very safe! The street this is on is very quite and easy to find, I had no issues and the staff were excellent! Rooms were clean and nothing to complain about. I will definitely stay here again or within this region as the amount of restaurants that are within the area is amazing! and these places are not tourist traps but places which see mostly locals therefore much better prices! All in all a perfect place for an amazing city.
With a warm welcome accompanied by some helpful tips for the best metro lines and buses to use, this hotel proved to be a great location to explore the latin quarter of Paris. Unlike London, being south of the river proved to be quiet and pretty, surrounded by a variety of lovely cafes. Whilst the room was clean and had the usual amenities like a safe and good air con, it was small, having just about enough room to walk around the bed. Breakfast was continential but it did not have the variety of choice that other hotels had that we have stayed in. Some on reception were less helpful than others when we had queries and post-welcome, the service was just average. Overall, a good base for a few days but any longer and the room would have seemed even smaller!
Great stay in a very good comfortable hotel in the Latin Quarter. Booked a deluxe room which was large by Paris standards and well placed for Notre Dame and Metro links. Staff were great and really helpful when we needed them. Highly recommended if you are looking for a nice hotel in a quiet location but close enough to plenty restaurants and bars.
We stayed at Jardin de Cluny for a long weekend with friends. The location is perfect for seeing the sights of Paris - all within walking distance. The hotel is quiet, just back from the busy hustle and bustle. Rooms are comfortable and clean, if a little small. Highly recommended and we'll certainly return on our next visit to Paris.
prime location, well run hotel, great facilities, quiet but central location. Extremely helpful and friendly bilingual staff. Free internet and environment conscious hotel. Good size room, comfortable bed.
The location of one block from Rue du St. Germain is superb and convenient for walking and use of metro. The staff are very professional and helpful. The lounge and breakfast room are attractive with a special charm. Rooms are a bit small which is normal in Paris. Elevator is tiny.
Wonderful staff, nice room, good location close to subway, but very hard mattress if you don't have a great back. Mattresses are on a wooden platform--no box springs. Could not get a refund to find another hotel. Very quiet, good internet.
Andrea at the desk was welcoming and thoroughly helpful, from dinner to directions. Room was clean, quiet and well appointed. Robe and slippers were unexpected. Close to METRO and a walk to Notre Dame. Cluny Museum and Luxembourg Gardens a short walk. Great value for money.
Very good for the price I paid. Newly remodeled room. Great location. If you have a car to park, you will need to park at almost 0.5 km from the hotel, but it is not much different than any hotels in Paris.
hotel is good, but expensive for what you get. time before we stayed there breakfast was included, this time it was not. location is good, easy walk to notre dame area and other tourist sites . they do not give a free night after spending four nights there
Second time in Paris, first time in a Best Western. This hotel was clean, cozy and the front desk employees were upbeat, helpful and kind. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in at a hotel. I would stay here again.
Charming, well located. Staff very careful. A small and cosy retreat in one of most attractive Paris area. Rooms are not big but well equipped, clean. I highly recommend it for business and vacation purpose
Had a wonderful stay in the Best Western Jardin De Cluny. The Staff are all really friendly and willing to help. The location is excellent and there are a number of Metro stops close by (handy for those travelling from CDG Airport). When I visit Paris again I would love to stay again.
Great hotel, great location, great staff (ask for Karen) great price. The entire staff was excellent -and so close to metro stations and buses. Could see Norte Dame from our room. Excellent amen ties and a most wonderful shower. Walking distance from metro
Overall, a good hotel, conveniently located in the Latin Quarter; walking distance to Nortre Dame and plenty of restaurants. Close to tour buses and trains (RER). Rooms were small but we expected that as it is a European standard. Room and Bathroom were clean. The front desk staff was very helpful and answered all our questions. The breakfast in the lower level was nice, location was quaint, the bakery items were delicious. I would stay here again just for the convenience.
Queen room not small by Paris standards, with good bathroom. Overall hotel was clean and bright with friendly staff. Location can't be beat for connections and quiet. I will certainly use this again and would recommend.
The building is great, although only suites are enough big (standard and superior rooms are quite little). The situation in Paris is perfect for any tourist, near everything and well connected. The pity is that service is not good enough, and probably direction of the hotel should change norms and manners to be applied and used with customers, as well as take more carefully the quality of the products offered on breakfast. I have to say we used this hotel in Paris since 1978, before first changes on the building, and came back a few times these years. We will not come back again to this hotel now. The PROBLEMS: ROOM Bathtub very uncomfortable for showering Abundant losses of water in the shower. Although reported on Thursday morning, it was not possible for the hotel to solve it correctly before week-end, and then (on Friday, after claiming again), they say there were no maintenance service until Monday… It was not necessary then, as we left on Monday. The solution applied for the leak of water was to put some towels on the floor. surrounding the bathtub. This was enough effective on first day, but service did not change those towels on the second day, and so they were absolutely wet and not any more effective, as well as uncomfortable (stepping the towel was like stepping in a water puddle). The carpet of the room was stained. BREAKFAST No dishes of refill: If you want an extra dish, you have to ask for it. The used dishes were not retreated, as well as extra services not needed (for example, the fourth service in a table used by three persons). The variety of the buffet was very poor. Low quality in many of the products on display. Charcuterie: Only 4 products, all of them of low quality. Cheese: Only 4 products (when available). Two of them of correct quality, and 2 very poor. Yoghourt: Supermarket Danone products (ecologic breakfast?) On Monday 25th, we went for breakfast at 10am. It's supposed to be in service until 11am, but the real situation was that we could take breakfast, but it was the worst of all our stay. Photos of the buffet available. Also we could enjoy the walk of the garbages. For some reason they were taken off the place were they are stored, and stood there smelling in the middle of the breakfast lounge, and after some minutes, next to the door of the lift. Never saw something like this in any kind of hotel (more photos available)… They were still there when we left the lounge. RECEPTION Attention was very fine on arrival. But next morning, a new receptionist told us it was mandatory to leave the card/key of the rooms in reception every time we leave. We are not used to this, but anyway, the authoritarian manners were the worst. We felt uncomfortable due to this strange situation. Although we decided to leave the card/keys every time we left as demanded, we have to say this was the only receptionist who asked for it, and asking another about this norm of the hotel, we were told the hotel wanted the keys for security, but it was not mandatory.

Dear Sir, First of all, please accept my apologies for the delay in replying to you : I came back to the hotel last week after a 4 months maternity leave, and needed a few days to investigate about the facts you are mentioning in your comments before coming back to you. Needless to say that I am very deeply sorry and upset for all the facts you are reporting, and that the situations you encountered during your stay at the Jardin de Cluny are totally unacceptable. Allow me to come back on each of the points you brought to my attention : - the water leak when showering : we found a solution with our maintenance staff, the leak is now fixed but I regret that they were not able to solve this problem during your stay and that the only solution you were proposed (towels on the floor...) was not even correctly applied as they did not change them. I just would like to let you know that the maid who was in charge of your room does not work anymore at the hotel. - the carpet of the room which is stained : I must confess that despite my thorough inspection I have not seen the stains you are mentioning, I thus assume that the maid had cleaned them further to your departure. Nevertheless, I am sorry about that as a hotel room is supposed to be spotless. - the quality and the service at breakfast: I have taken a good note of your appreciations concerning the cheese and charcuterie that are served and will try to find new products of better quality. The yogurts are Danone as we consider that these are products of good quality, we offer indeed a wide range of ecolabelised or organic products (jams, cereals, dry fruits, eggs, breads, pastries, fruit juices...) but yogurts are not for the moment. We are currently looking for new products that could please our guests : thanks to your comments I will search for yogurts. Breakfast is served until 10:30 and should be fully available until the very last minute, I was thus astounded by the fact that at 10am, the buffet was almost empty. Rest assured that I have reviewed this point with the person in charge who will make sure that our guests can enjoy a full breakfast until 10:30. - the garbage in the breakfast room : needless to say that I was completely appalled by what you reported. Unfortunately the configuration of the hotel leaves us with no other choice than taking the lift to take the garbage out but obviously this has to be done out of breakfast hours! This situation is totally unacceptable and disciplinary measures will be taken. - leaving your key at the reception : I regret that the person who asked for your key did not behave properly and was too harsh. There is indeed a policy to ask guests to leave their room key at the reception for two reasons : security (the key is kept within the hotel and cannot be stolen and misused) and service (we know if the room is free for service, if guests are present or not for outside telephone calls). Nevertheless, this is not mandatory and the reception staff should have explained you the purpose of this request and most of all in a pleasant way. I very sincerely regret that I was not at the hotel when this sequence of bad experiences happened to you and again would like to apologize deeply for such a poor stay. I understand only too well when you say you would not consider staying with us again but I dare asking you to give us another chance considering the fact that your feedback helps me to focus on points that need to be improved and I will make sure that such situations cannot happen again. Should you give us another chance, I would be happy to welcome you back on a complimentary basis for a 2 nights stay, breakfast included in a Deluxe Room. I sincerely hope that you will take up my offer and then give us the opportunity that the Jardin de Cluny can do much better than what you experienced. Please come back to me directly in order to organize your forthcoming stay. I would personally make sure that everything goes under the best conditions. With renewed apologies and kindest regards, Julia VIDALENC Manager / Directrice BEST WESTERN Jardin De Cluny
Very clean and well located off Rue St Germaine. Access to Paris district very good. Hotel is quiet and comfortable and we had a lovely time during our stay. The hotel staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Information about Paris was provided when an enquiry was asked. Area was quiet and no street noise was happeneing while in our rooms at night. We were on the 4th floor. Small 4 person lift but that is typical for this type of hotel. Room was very clean and bed very comfortable and even though hot outside the room A/C worked very well. Facilities in room and WiFi very good.
The hotel was very clean and in a quiet street, but near enough to shops and restaurants. The staff were exceptionally helpful. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay and the Orangerie, which were our priorities. However musee de Cluny is a 5 minute walk away, which is well worth a visit.
Room was small but clean and comfortable. Bed a bit hard but got used to it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Lots of attractions in area within walking distance. Cafes and bars near by. Price seemed high, but I guess that is Paris. Elevator was small so we just used the stairs each day, we were in room 501, so got some exercise. Would stay there again if ever back in Paris.
Clean, comfortable and a great location near many places of interest. Very pleasant and helpful staff. We would definitely stay there again. Our only complaint was the poor quality of the internet connection. Often difficult to connect, and dropped connections. Apart from that, a wonderful stay.
