very small room impossible to work in such small room this hotel is not for bussiness people but may more for far east tourists the location is very good but all all the rest isnt good some of the old workers at the reception are very good and trying to really help but unfortunately they are very limited by managment which is changing every few month

"You get what you pay for !"

wamquilt, Thornwood 27/10/2019

The hotel is pretty well situated in Paris. A 10 minuet walk to the Opera House & a 1 hour walk to the Arc De Triumph.. The room was very dark but clean except for the mold on the tiles in the shower. They did not supply any hair conditioner or body lotion in the bathroom ONLY SOAP & the hotel hair dryer did not fit into the wall outlet ..Although when we asked the whole hair dryer wall unit was replaced.. Your room should be ready for you when it is turned over to you ! The staff was very friendly & courteous..

"Feels Like One Star Hotel"

1
Ryan W, Chicago, Illinois 26/10/2019

Definitely the worst four star hotel I stayed at in France. Location close to one of the train stations to Reims. Really old hotel in drastic need of a gut renovation. Small old elevator. Room down stairs and was very dark. Musty old carpet. Small. Would not recommend to anyone.

"Very Nice Experience"

453sofia, Athens, Greece 24/10/2019

Good location, walking distance from the Opera and Gallery Lafayette, clean and beautiful rooms, nice staff. I had the chance to have room with balcony...great sense! The breakfast was very satisfying No problems with wi-fi

"Convenient location. Expensive place"

User 21/10/2019

We found this hotel for 2 nights through a last minute trip advisor deal. Otherwise this place is prohibitively expensive to book. Room was comfortable and easily accessible. Would recommend if you find a good discount.

"Oasis of Hospitality"

We were treated with care and kindness. After losing my wallet the kind young desk agent used her language skills to help us with legal notifications. She'd even remembered our names from check-in three days earlier. The breakfast buffet was a great start to each day. The room was well kept and the bed cozy. Great hotel!!

"Paris YES - Best Western NEVER"

2
pcN3301JO, Copenhagen Region, Denmark 11/10/2019

Photos are grateful and the most positive thing to say about this hotel - First we were offered a room which looked like it was rented out on an hourly basis and stank like a 60's smoking room - after a long discussion we got another room which was reasonable except for the sympathetic stench - would I recommend this hotel? NEVER

"Highly recommended "

User 11/10/2019

A beautiful hotel that is located in a vibrant location . Hotel situated in a neighborhood with lots of restaurants and pubs . You can reach the hotel from CDG-Gare du nord and one metro station. Very clean rooms, receptionist very hospitable and cooperative. If you're traveling alone, with family or friends this hotel is very convenient and close to all the nice places.

"Excelent!"

andressagabrieli, London, United Kingdom 08/10/2019

I really liked this hotel. Very good location near various metro stations. Comfortable room with a very nice view of Paris. Good breakfast. Staff was polite and attentive. I would stay there again next time.

"Business Travel"

3
User 07/10/2019

I was in this hotel for a business travel for one night. Due to the Bi-Annual Aeronautic Exhibition in Le Bourges, the logistic aspects of the travel have been very difficult. The hotel is nice but the breakfast is possible only inside the room.

"Convenient location for restaurants and metro"

5
cheryl8here, Clifton Park, New York, Usa 06/10/2019

We stayed four nights and were very pleased with the location in a relatively quiet neighborhood, yet restaurants, a market and the metro were nearby. Breakfast was very good. We loved the view from our balcony.

"A Pleasant Stay"

4
User 04/10/2019

Very good customer service throughout my stay and the hotel and facilities were kept very clean and as a whole very welcoming. The only negative I have is that the rooms are slightly dated/worn, but apart from that no complaints.

"Not quite 4 stars !!"

3
User 03/10/2019

First I should say that our room was lovely and the staff super friendly and helpful. But there are a few negatives I think I should mention: I challenge the management to have a shower in room 307 ! The position of the shower mixer makes it impossible to control the temperature so we had either a cold or a boiling hot shower. It made showering, which we love, very disappointing. I don't understand why hotels don't invest in good showers anyway, who uses baths these days? Another disappointment was the wifi, after connecting both our phones we wanted to connect an I-pad. A notification appeared telling us the number of devices we were able to connect had reached the limit, really?? This all made it not a 4 star experience for us I'm afraid

"Friendly services & convenient location"

5
PietroTW, Taipei, Taiwan 02/10/2019

Hotel is conveniently located with walking distance to Galleries Lafayette & Printemps ! Service is good room is clean. Roadside slightly noisy if windows are open. Services is very good and making guests feel at home !

"Good Location"

4
mimibobek, Toronto, Canada 29/09/2019

This was very close to Metro stations and short walk to train station. Great location for Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. We found the room quite small, but did have a nice window looking out onto street.

"Horrible shower facility"

3
fuzzyspit, Singapore, Singapore 23/09/2019

It was only after arriving at the hotel then I realised I have stayed there before when it was still known as Hotel Jules. As I arrived early in the morning, it was understandable that the room was not ready yet. The receptionist swiftly attended to me and allowed me to store my luggage. It was also great that they had a room available for me around 11am, and check in was a breeze. However, the shower was terrible. The water alternates between scalding hot and ice cold. It was not able to emit regular warm water, and as a result it was impossible to take a proper shower. There was obviously something wrong with the water system. Water pressure was also very weak. Even the shower facilities at the airport was way better than this. Internet connection was quite weak. It was sufficient for Netflix, but I was not able to have a video call with my family. (I recall this was an issue during my previous stay as well.) Breakfast selection was wide, as compared to other similar hotels. The food was nothing great, but sufficient to fill a person up. Location of hotel is not bad, close to several subway stations and about 12 minutes walk to Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. I came home quite late one night but the area was well lit, so it felt safe. Staff in general were very nice. They reminded me of the upcoming transportation strike and suggested to help me book a taxi ahead.

"Clean hotel and friendly staff."

4
User 20/09/2019

Very friendly staff and clean guest rooms. The rooms feature a minibar and an electric kettle. Hotel location good, short walk to Opera Garnier. We got the room at noon and a free room upgrade. We could stay at this hotel again.

"Good"

4
User 19/09/2019

First room given, very dirty old and unkept room. Carpet fifty. Called front desk and were changed immediately to a lovely, upgraded and clean room. Great customer services. Very central to everything. We would stay there again and recommend. Please upgrade the first room. First impressions are not easily forgotten.

"Stafff attitude"

3
User 18/09/2019

I would suggest the hotel staff is more polite and can give more guideline to the customers. For example, first time to this Hotel, and no idea it needs to insert the room card to the lift, so that it can starts.

"Bed Bugs, without doubt!"

1
User 14/09/2019

To anyone considering staying here please for your own sake, dont! I feel bad about saying this because the staff were very good but no amount of good staff or free coffee makes up for a bed ridden with bed bugs. I have returned home four days ago and still scratching my skin due to these bugs. Im considering getting my property fumagated to be 100% safe in the knowledge that these insects do not infest my home. I honestly feel some recourse by the management should be offered for the hassle this has caused both physically and mentally. I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!

"Okay but could have been better"

3
P423EXfrank, Seattle, Washington 10/09/2019

Easy to walk to the metro. Lots of restaurants south of the hotel. Room had a nice view, great air conditioning, and a comfortable bed. Carpet in the room was not in great shape but was clean. Bathroom was so small, I had to get in the shower to open or close the door. Breakfast was not good; eggs were liquid; it was confusing how to get coffee. Staff was nice. No extra plug outlets; I had to unplug lamps.

"Brilliant hotel"

5
Lucy W, London, United Kingdom 09/09/2019

Great hotel in the heart of Paris - easy to get to and explore the city with the metro only a few meters from the door. They made my birthday weekend extra special - I'd highly recommend staying here!

"Very good"

User 08/09/2019

Very satisfied couple, perfect location and amazing bed. We would absolutely stay over again at this hotel for our next stay. Would recommend highly. Only negative the standard room was very small and no toothbrushes. So don't forget to bring.

going to paris and a stay at this hotel was a bit disappointing. we expected the Parisian style and French connotations. but a bit disappointed. the hotel is in a street. very crowded. but it can be made better thogh a small measures.

"Accomodation "

2
tasslee57, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 01/09/2019

stayed here for 2 nights. the hotel was least to my expectation...very untidy lobby... worst part is the broken lift was not repaired and dark stair case. The room is very small and carpet looks dirty and not well maintained. In fact the entire hotel is not well maintained and not worth the money we paid. the only concession is that it's near to public transport and food. Will not return to this hotel.

Reservation originally booked at Best Western Premier Faubourg 88 for 3 adults but the agent screwed it up. When we arrived at the hotel there were no triple rooms availabe. We were rebooked at Opera which cost more money and BW Premier Faubourg88 did not give us a full refund - payment for one night was deducted. I think that this was an issue between the agent and the hotel and I should have received a full refund! Overall, We enjoyed our stay. The room was nice and comfortable.and the staff were friendly.

"Great Staff - Poorly Maintained"

3
deepgr, Halifax, Canada 28/08/2019

Initial impression upon check-in was positive. Genuinely friendly staff who are helpful, polite and accommodating. The ‘Standard room' was of an acceptable size for a central location, the layout was efficient and featured a small balcony overlooking the main road. The bed was dressed with clean and plush bedding that covered over a very well worn mattress. The mattress is worn to the point where it doesn't actually offer any support. I can understand some people might prefer sinking into their bed but it doesn't seem like this was intentional. The hotel may have been rebranded as a Best Western but the fixtures / furniture don't seem to have ever been changed. The carpets throughout look as if they've havent been vacuumed in months. There are so many stains it's unclear what the colour the carpet was actually meant to be. The entire room is packed with so much dust that you won't need a dust allergy to keep you awake at night. My request to have the room vacuumed was answered enthusiastically by front desk staff and than never done :( I would challenge the management to use a steam cleaner on the carpets and publish a response with the number of times the water needed to be changed before it actually runs clear. I would be happy to provide ‘before' photos of the carpets for anyone interested. Cleaning and removing the dust from the heavy black curtains would also be appreciated. It's worth repeating that the staff at this hotel was excellent, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is well located and the air conditioned rooms were appreciated. It is most unfortunate though that the property is not so well maintained. At the end of the day it's the bed, cleanliness and comfort of the room that matter and this is unfortunately where the Best Western Fauborg Opera falls well below the standard.

"An OK hotel"

3
f35martinez, Villa Park, Illinois 23/08/2019

The location of this hotel is great. However, the pictures of their rooms online are deceiving. Our room was small and the carpeted floor had multiple stains. For the price I would say it was worth it.

"OK for the price"

User 17/08/2019

Small hotel in District 9, near Galleries Lafayette. Animated area. Everything is small in this hote, literally everything: the lobby, the breakfast area, the elevator and ESPECIALLY the room. We had a ''superior'' room as opposed to a ''standard'' room. I can't imagine what the size of a standard room must be ! The rooms are so small we didn't have space to put our suitcases. No drawers. The rooms are equipped with a mini fridge and a safe. But to be fare and objective one must say that the room was clean, the breakfast more than adequate with a good variety, the front desk staff and the breakfast room staff very helpfull, polite and accomodating.

"Short visit Paris"

4
User 14/08/2019

Rooms, beds and service was fine. We only missed the kettle in the room to make tea. Especially because late at night the bar was closes and we arrived around 23.00 Breakfast was also great. Plenty of food and room to sit down with 5 people.

"It's ok"

3
User 13/08/2019

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is, in my opinion, very dark and smells weird, like old. Bed was very comfy, however the door of the bathroom is horrendous, you can barely close it does not have enough room to move (a sliding door will be way better). Breakfast was ok, again the room was kind of dark. Decoration of the hotel Can be improved.

"Good amenities and location but can here traffic"

4
Faical A, Dusseldorf, Germany 05/08/2019

I liked the hotel and location. We could hear cars outside though but and on a Sunday on August there wasn't much traffic on the road. It would have been a lot worse on a weekday. Rooms are fairly small but that's common in Paris

"Great location, great service! We enjoyed our stay very much!!"

We stayed at this hotel this week. The rooms are air conditioned very clean, great staff at the desk, answered all our questions with great patient. The location is perfect near the Opera. Loved this place!!

wendelgsilva, Belo Horizonte 28/07/2019

The alarm of the elevator that served our room had a malfunction causing it to started ringing non stop by 7pm according to the recepcionist. And despite our several requests, it was not solved yet when we left the hotel in the following morning. We had a terrible night and counted with no support from the hotel staff, that was regularly very friendly.

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you for taking time to share your comment following your stay in our hotel. I would like to apologize for the disagrement due to the ring of the lift. I understand the trouble and we took of course into consideration to solve the problem. The company in charge of the lift has been called immediatly in order to act. Our maintenane department is not allowed to intervene for this kind of equipment. For security reason, only an authorised company can intervene on the elevator. Once again, I apologize for this trouble during your last night. We hope, in spite of this disagrement, we will have the pleasure to welcome you in the future. Do not hesitate to contact us directly. Best regards,

F5952GOrichards, Roswell, Georgia 08/07/2019

Hotel has been remodeled with a British theme. Yes, room was small, but my wife and I were able to make it work for our 4 night stay. We understand all Paris hotel rooms were small, so no big deal. The English breakfast was fantastic. Location is fantastic. Walking distance to Opera House, Louvre, Nôtre Dame, Metro, etc. There is a bar on the ground floor. I was able to enjoy a glass of wine on more than one occasion. I would have given it five stars, but the plexiglass “wall” designed, I think, to funnel shower water into the bathtub, did not have a bottom seal, so unfortunately there was a lot of water on the floor after my first shower. After that, I stuck a hand towel between the tub wall and the plexiglass, but even though that helped, there was still some shower water that made it to the floor. The front desk people spoke good English and were very helpful in telling us of a good vegetarian bistro right around the corner and a nice grocery store/pastry shop a half block away. Our request to come in a day earlier than the tour was handled seamlessly. All in all, highly recommend.

"Very nice hotel in a great location"

Anu N, Mumbai, India 08/07/2019

We spent five nights here & found the hotel very satisfactory . It is a British themed hotel in a great location. The hotel is situated very close to the Le Peletier & Cadet metro station , walking distance from Auber train station ( Direct train connection to Disneyland) & 15 minutes walk to Gare du nord. There are lot of Restaurants & cafes suitable for all budgets . In fact a Pret a Manger is situated just next to it . A Carrefour is within 2 minutes walk & a Franprix within 5 minutes . You can walk to Gallery Lafayette & Opera. The hotel itself is nice & cozy , our junior suit was small but well appointed , bathroom was well appointed too with both bath & shower & was clean , the bed & extra cot was very comfortable . the room had both electric kettle & coffee machine . All the reception & restaurant staff were very friendly & helpful . They helped us with a early check in , got a minor problem with coffee machine resolved in late evening , helped us book the louvre tickets ... restaurant staffs are also pretty helpful . We only tried the buffet breakfast , which has cooked sausage & bacon options too , but the overall spread was okay , could have been better , particularly cooked options , but the cold cuts & breads & coffees were good . All in all , we spent some very peaceful time here & will recommend the hotel & will surely come back if we come to Paris.

Room was small and comfortable. Staff at reception helpful. Sadly there was a terrible odor in our room. Like old cigarette smoke in the upholstery. My daughter and I have allergies and they acted up in the middle is the night. Noisy as room is next to the elevator.

1
User 20/06/2019

Dirty, unfriendly place. The rooms are terribly tiny and mine had a very specific smell. The only good thing is green apples at the reception which were there once though. The worst experience is when I was given the invoice and except for my country was written the enemy country that has killed 15 000 people of my country! And when approached the receptionist I got - "what's the difference?"!!! What is the freaking difference????

For those visitors that want a quiet night of sleep, do ask for room as far away as possible from the elevator, the noise can be very annoying. The room is extremely small, not suitable for couples or anyone with two luggage.

Great location near Opera, Bourse, centre Pompidou (30 mins walk). Clean, modern room with amusing British theme also in reception. Lots of restaurants in the area. Our views of typical Parisian rooftops from our room on the 6th floor were lovely! Bed was very comfortable. Only moan was the shower which had no pressure and couldn't maintain the same temperature for more than a few seconds. Will return!

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you very much for your review regarding your stay with us. As mentionend, our location allow to get easy and quick access by walk or subway to the main points of interest of Paris for museum, attractions or shopping. Hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you agin in the future.

damiz2013, Frederick, Maryland 04/06/2019

We spent two nights on a quick trip to Paris and it was better than we expected. The from the desk staff were very polite and friendly as well as helpful with directions and recommendations. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room very clean. I didn't give it a higher rating because the carpet needs to be changed, other than that our stay was great. We did not pay for the breakfast because there are a lot of other options around and decided to explore. It's very close to Galleries LaFayette, and a couple of blocks from Rue De Martyrs where you find lots of cafes, fruit shops and boutiques.

This hotel had an English theme with chairs covered in Union Jacks and pictures of Benny Hill in the halls. Our room had photos of the Avengers and all lamps had bowler hats for shades. Water and sweets to help yourself in the lobby. Our room was tiny but adequate with fridge, kettle and teas and coffee. Bathroom very up to date. Shower needed attention but we reported this and it should be taken care of.

They billed me €20 extra for a room with bath while I already paid for it upfront. Very unprofessional and rude. I will never visit this hotel again. I asked if they could settle this, but I got nothing not even an apology.

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, I would like to apologize for the experience in our hotel. Reception checked with you at check in time for your agreement for an upgrade room, so I am really sorry if there is a misunderstanding with this problem. We try every day to answer to the expectations of all of our clients so I sorry and apologize that we did not enjoy your overnight stay. I remain at your disposal to answer any related questions you may have.

This hotel was in a good location. The staff all spoke English and were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was tiny, especially for two people but I understand that is pretty normal in Europe. It was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for your feedback following your stay with us. We are happy to read you enjoyed your stay with us and you took advantage of our location, with metro stop at 2 mn, Opera, shopping center just nearby. The hotel is nice, with a good location..But on last day of my visit my purse was stolen just from the hotels lobby by some guy who came freely and stayed easily to choose the “victim”.And even the hotels personal was asking us who we are every time(showing their care of security)none asked anything of that guy!!!So be careful!!I have all the reasons to think that the hotels staff knows about such things!

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Tynok, We are sincerely sorry for the disagrement on your last day. We of course take care every day for the security of our guests. we try as much as possible to check the attendance of our hotel, in order to avoid this kind of problem. As in any public place, it is necessary for the safety of everyone to be attentive. Consequently, it is better to be aware of it and act to avoid this kind of inconvenience. Once again, I am very sorry and after verification, we do not seem to have been informed of this incident when you left the hotel.

We spent here 3 nights on a long weekend. Excellent location, 2 mins from Metro Le Peletier, less than 10´walking from Opéra Garnier, Galéries Lafayettes etc. Fast check-in, friendly staff. Room small but comfy, nicely decorated and superclean. Good wifi. Overall a very good option to stay in the center of Paris.

Such an amazing hotel! Staff were friendly, professional and gave exceptional service. Breakfast catered for everyone and had a wide range of warm food, drinks, cheeses and pastries. The rooms are small but adequate, the decor is great with bowler hat lamps and the ceiling light is a camera very funky. Very clean, comfortable bed, tea making facilities and a little balcony . Reception staff are very helpful and the breakfast was very good plenty of choices from cooked to pastries. The location was good plenty of restaurants and shops and you can walk to the Louvre.

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Christine, Very happy, you like our British decoration with the hat in the room. I hope you tasted our french toasts during breakfast. Our breakfast team are very proud to cook them every morning for our guests. I think you enjoy Paris, with restaurants, bars and shopping. And of course for the monuments. So hope to see you very quickly for another stay in Paris.

We booked 2 rooms with clear instruction to have connections rooms or side by side because we have the small children with us. We got 2 rooms in 2 different stories. Totaly unacceptable!! We spent all the nights 6 persons in same room!!!!

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Guest, I understand your annoyance, nevertheless, as you know, because we show you thereservations received by the hotel from your agencey. Instructions with connecting rooms has never been received by the hotel and we inform you at your first stay, that the hotel did not have triple on the same floor. Although this problem is not inherent to the hotel, we offer you breakfast for 6 people. We tried to find another hotel answering to your expectation, but no hotel have availibitlity with your request. And at your departure, inform you again, that for your next stay, few days after, we informed you that the hotel would not have triple on the same floor, so you were inform of the situation. At your arrival, you still requested for 2 triple triple connectiong rooms, in spite we inform you 2 days before, we did not have triple connecting rooms on the same floor and you took and occupied the 2 rooms during your two stays. I am sorry that the hotel did not answer to your expectations and of course, if we do have a solution to get rooms on the same floor, we would do it, it is not in our interest to provide a bad service and bad experience to our guests.

Hotel staff at check in were unhelpful and unfriendly but at check out the team were completely different and extremely helpful, kind and courteous. The room clean but shabby with poor decor. Needed patching up in many places. The mini bar had been used and not replaced prior to our stay. Great location by lacked some hospitality basics!

our overall experience of this hotel was okay. Unfortunately there were a few small issues that would make us chose a different hotel next time we're in Paris. The a/c didn't work and the pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. The location of the hotel is fine and we were lucky to get a balcony - but there were no furniture on it.

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you for your feedback following your stay with us. During winter-time, A/C is off and is on according the outside temperature. Most of our pillows are new and do not seem to fit to the comfort expected. I would like to apologize for not answering to these points. Nevertheless, I am happy to read that your overall experience at the hotel was ok and the location suited you.

This was our first trip to Paris and the hotel was great! We arrived at 7am (ALOT earlier than expected) and was hoping there would be a free room that we could pay for until we ours was ready at 3pm. Adil managed to move some things around for us and was able to get us an early check in so that we could rest our tired heads. This certainly set our trip up for a great first day. We were extremely grateful to him!

Had a small but a nice room with full of sunlight. Staff was helpful and friendly. And so generous to leave a box of macaroons as a birthday surprise. Just 200 mt to Le Peletier metro station. And only 14 min walk to La Fayette. So I would definitely recommend.

Dear Client, We are happy to read that you enjoyed the attention for your birthday. As mentionned, our hotel is well located in Paris, in a quiet area, but allow to reach a lot of points of interests very quickly by metro or by walk. So thank you to recommend our hotel and hoping we will welcome you again in the future.

Nice hotel to spend one (our first) night in Paris before going to Brussels. Location is great, friendly and helpful reception. Room is quite small, but I guess that's normal for a hotel like this in Paris.

"Disappointing "

2
User 01/03/2019

Okay, so I booked a Best Western and was therefore expecting basic but nice. E.g. the room was only marginally bigger than the bed itself and you could only fit 1 person standing in the bathroom (and had to stand on one leg to close the door) but that's sort of what you might expect when you book a cheaper inner city hotel. However, there were a number of things I was disappointed with despite having fairly realistic expectations at the outset: 1. The room absolutely stank of cigarettes. It really got down my throat and made me paranoid that all my stuff would end up stinking like I'd just come out of a nightclub before the UK smoking ban; 2. The carpet was pretty manky and ripped; 3. Although I expected a small room, there was a genuine problem with where to put your stuff, especially when the floor is grubby. We had all of our belongings and clothes piled up on top of the tea / coffee area on the desk and it was a challenge to dry yourself in the bathroom without the towel ending up in the toilet; 3. The plumbing for the shower was dodgy and the water wasn't draining away so the shallow tray overflowed onto the bathroom floor mid-way through my shower; 4. The general repair of the bathroom was poor - with a cracked sink and chipped toilet seat; and 5. The room (109) was sandwiched between the lift and the stairwell so it shook every time the lift went past and the metal stairs were the other side of our wall, a few inches away from the headboard which doesn't bode well for a great night's sleep. Having said that, the bedsheets and towels were clean and the hotel is in a good location. But, I've learned a lesson that I'll probably pay more for a better hotel next time.

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you for gicving your feedback regarding your recent stay at our property. I would like to apologize for not answering your expectations. I understand the smell of cigarettes is not pleasant at all and not a normal occurence. In this case, we could of course, according availibility propose you to move in another room, I don't know if you ask at reception to get this possibility. We propose differents types of bedroom from standard to Junior Suite with 32m2. Once again, I am sorry that you did not enjoyed your stay with us.

We reserved a twin 19sq more expansive and we end up with a tiny little 12sq with one dbl bed ;the personn at the front didn't give a sh....; did not proposed to change for the room we reserved and paid already for; when we cheked out, i said that we never come back ; the personn (différent from the one at the Check in) and told me that « no problem was reported ».....

Catherine_Marais, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, We would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. The allocated room corresponded to the reserved type and the square meters include the bathroom. Reception did not propose you to move in another room, because the hotel was fully book due to a trade show in Paris. Nevertheless, once again, sorry that we did not enjoy your stay with us.

My 3rd time staying at this hotel and never regret. This time we were greeted warmly at the reception by Monsieur Mounir. I could sense the sincerity of his great hospitality. Better yet he even upgraded us to a better type room after knowing that I was a return guest. The Hot Chocolate was a nice welcome drink. The hotel is not new but it has pretty much everything you need and clean. Most importantly the location is perfect for us. 10 mins walk to Gallery Lafayette. Many bars and restaurant within walking distance. Thank you once again Mounir and we'll definitely come back.

D571KHmichelleg, Melbourne, Australia 02/02/2019

This was my first visit to Paris and I only had 48 hours to enjoy. A woman travelling on my own I felt so comfortable in this little hotel, personal, cosy and super friendly and helpful English speaking reception staff. Right across the street is a wonderful cafe - Generale La Fayette. Open early through till late, the owner bakes her own croissants. Good coffee, excellent service. Head towards Rue de Martyrs for amazing food and quirky gift shops. Only a ten minute walk from the hotel. My bed was super comfortable, in a tiny room but with full length windows that I could open for fresh air and to enjoy the sounds of the city. The room was clean but with the scrapes and dents of a well used hotel, carpet a little past it's best but linen clean and a well appointed bathroom. More than comfortable, very local and a good location.... though an English hotel, as it turns out. Not quite the full Parisian experience I was looking for but the real fun is always going to be out on the street, not in the room.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Michelle, Thank you for taking time to share your experience with us. 48 hours for a trip in Paris is very short, but you seemed to have completely taken advantage of the parisian Lifesyle. A beautiful hotel. Loved the decor and all the staff were really friendly. Especially the breakfast staff and kept restocking food and filled up our water bottles. The room was lovely, with lovely views of Paris and loved all the Roger Moore and Benny Hill pictures on the walls. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Centrally located and close the the metro. Reasonably priced and close to lovely restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

Ruxandra B, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom 28/12/2018

We stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas. We stayed in room 415 which was quiet as we requested, however we found it a little out dated and also the carpet very very old and dirty. We had a problem with the safe and let them know on the first evening, they said they would fix it in the morning, we reminded them the next morning but it never got fixed, however we weren't that bothered as we took our money with us anyway. The breakfast is just ok, not so much to choose from, it's quite basic. The reception allowed us to keep the room until 1pm on the day if our departure which was a really nice gesture, by the way everyone at the reception was lovely and friendly. The size of the room is good for Paris and the location is perfect for exploring this city, we would stay again at this hotel next time when we visit Paris but we would ask for a refurbished room next time :)

Catherine M, Directeur général at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Ruxandra B, I would like to thank you for sharing your experience among us. We are sorry to read that you did not like that much your room. We will be sure to provide you another room next time, and I am convinced that you will be pleased by it :) Regarding the safe, unfortunately, it wasn't fixable on the spot, so some time was needed. I apologize for any disturbance it could have created. All our staff was really pleased to read your comments bout them. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again soon. Bonjour.... I wanted to send my appreciation to the lady that was on-duty (reception) today,18th November [email protected] I had a long day, and I wanted to get to my hotel unfortunately my mobile phone was running out of battery (I totally forgotten about my Power Bank) and I could not explain nor direct the taxi driver towards my hotel. All I can think of googling Best Western.....but where and how?! Told the taxi driver to get me to Gallery Lafayette, and I'll guide him more. Too bad, I can't recall more directions. So, this kind-hearted taxi driver drove me to this "BEST Western Premier" (as what this receptionist lady claimed) Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg. I just went straight to the receptionist lady and seek for her assistance to locate (google) my hotel. To be honest, at first she was a little bit unsure. But after my explanation, she puts all her effort at that time to search-check-wrote the address of the hotel. I observed her face expression, body language, communication skills and I MUST SAY, "EXCELLENT AND THUMBS UP" to this lady. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME OUT. These kind of soft skills that we hardly see nowadays. "I personally nominated this Kind-hearted Lady(receptionist) with An Outstanding Work Ettique" P/S: my hotel is actually the same hotel but different branch/area. I wish our team have chosen this branch.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Even if you did not stay with us, thank you very much for your comments following the experience with our hotel. We try to offer to all our clients or future clients the best service possible. I transfer you kind comment to the lady who help you to find your hotel, and she was very happy. It is always a pleasure for our team to receive so pleasant remark and very encouraging. I hope, we will welcome you for your next stay in Paris. Do not hesitate to contact us directly.

A totally fine hotell compared to the price. It was clean and nice, but the beds was not good. The pillows was so hard we got problems sleeping. Probably something they should do something with. They also never answered my questions sent in before hand through hotels.com and by e-mail. But they did fix my requests though, so it was never really a problem.

Dear Espen, Thank you for your review following your stay with us. Our mattress and pillows have been replaced in 2017, so I am very sorry if they did not answered to your expectation and seemed too hard for your. At arrival my money and all cards were stolen at CDG airport. I had no money or card to pay the transfer to the hotel. Monsieur Adil from the Reception saved my life. He made some investigations in the Internet and sent a shuttle, which I could pay on the next day. Thanks Mister Adil!

Hotel close to Gare Du Nord when we arrived Eurostar from Paris. Hotel reception was very efficient and accommodating, we were upgraded to a superior room on the 6th floor. Room was spacious for Paris standard, all the room amenities was fantastic. Breakfast was a spread and hot eggs prepared was on request. Lemon water and sweets all day at reception on your return from a day long tours. Location close to Sacre Couer but a distance form Effeil Tower, however Bus 42 drops you off infront of the hotel.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear AkIsaacs, Thank you very much for your review following your stay with us. We are very happy to read, you enjoyed your stay in the room and also our breakfast. I hope you tasted our home made cakes and french toast. Le mon water and sweets are always present in the lobby to welcome you but in few days, lemon water will be replaced by our winter tea. As mentionned, our hotel is well situated to join by walk or metro all the main points of interest of Paris and also for shopping. I hope we will have to welcome you in the future for your next stay in Paris.

Writing this review whilst enjoying a plentiful and delicious breakfast in the hotel. We found this hotel whilst travelling to Paris through a booking site, the hotel looked good from its website and it accepted our dogs; what was not to like. On our arrival we got parked on street outside the hotel without issue, paid parking until 8pm. We were met by friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable staff at check in, who quickly had us checked in and on our way. The room was clean, well presented, well equipped and had a comfortable bed. Air conditioning and opening windows took care of the ventilation. Considering we had two dogs and a bicycle there was sufficient room to be comfortable. The breakfast room is spacious, there was a good variety of breakfast options available, which was constantly replenished throughout. The staff, of which there were a few on hand, were pleasant, courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant breakfast was had. Central Paris was within walking distance. The area has plentiful bars, cafés and eateries along with local shops. In summary, great hotel in a great location and most importantly has great staff; recommended.

Catherine M, Deputy Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Graeme, First of all, we are glad to read that you enjoyed your stay, and we are really thankfull that you decided to share that satisfaction with us. Our staff was delightfull to see your opinion about theire overall professionnalism, as one of our main preoccupation is to make sure our guests feel like being at home. As you described it, our breakfast is also one of our great asset, especially with all our home made products which are well appreciated by our guests. All our stay and myself hope we will have the chance to welcome you again soon. Best regards, Damien Willemain Deputy Manager

"Great Base in Paris, fantastic value "

cyclemum, Lanark, United Kingdom 03/09/2018

This provided for us the perfect Paris base after cycling here from London. It was close to Gare de Nord for Eurostar access and only steps away from several metro stations. There was a small supermarket nearby for any snacks, supplies or forgotten items. There were nice restaurants right across the street and an abundance in the surrounding area. We were spoilt for choice. The room itself was ample (by Paris standards) we even had a small balcony. The bed was comfy, the room clean, quiet and a nice temperature. All I'm ever looking for! Can speak for the nightlife locally as that's not my thing but I'm sure the metro would take you wherever you need. We picked off all the sights! Breakfast was plentiful, a good selection, well topped up and the breakfast area clean and well staffed, it's in the basement through, so don't expect a view! I'd have no hesitation in returning here with the family (if I could persuade the boys to visit Paris!)

Catherine M, Deputy Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review

"Great location for a mini break in Paris"

Jane M, Meopham, United Kingdom 25/08/2018

I chose this hotel as it was only a 15 minute walk from Gard du Nord and close to the Cadet Metro station so it was convenient for moving around Paris. We arrived well before check in time but our room was ready. The room on the first floor was small but perfectly adequate, with plenty of cupboard space. The bed was very comfortable after a tiring day travelling and sightseeing and the bathroom spotlessly clean. Although we were supplied with only one sachet of coffee power the whole stay, we didn't mind as there's a Starbucks nearby, a McDonald's and a Pret not to mention numerous cafes to chose from. We noticed the shower head was broken the next morning but after mentioning this to the reception, it was replaced immediately. All the reception staff were friendly and helpful. I can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have it in the hotel; there was so many cafes around the area to experience. All in all, a smart, clean hotel in a good location, reasonably priced and well worth a consideration.

We stayed for 3 nights over a weekend in August and paid around £220 for both of us. We were very impressed at the value. Location great-close to the 'cadet'metro stop and also close to 2 mini supermarkets and a few bars. Rooms are small but this is normal for Paris. Air con was an absolute God send. Clean and comfortable. Only complaint was that the room was never replenished properly, meaning we had to go to reception each day to collect milk/coffee/spoons etc. Would come back.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Abi, I would like to thank you personnally for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We are glad to read you were satisfied by our hotel and its location as we do care great about our guest satisfaction. I took note of your remark regarding the replenishment of your room, a meeting has been done with the service concerned to make sure it won't happen again. We hope to see you again soon. Phil J, Canberra, Australia 14/08/2018

Quirky 1960s Pinewood UK Studios decore but stylish, comfortable and spacious. Our room, a complimentary upgrade to a ‘Deluxe', was large and well appointed, plenty of space and fabulous views. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the TV was small but we weren't there to wartch TV anyway. After the tiny room we had in London this was so welcome. Friendly staff and though our early morning taxi booking on checkout failed to arrive, the receptionist anxiously, urgently and effectively secured us another within minutes, waiting with us until it arrived. Thoroughly recommended and great location, close (easy walk) to Galleries Lafayette, Opera, Follies Berger, Montmartre with plenty of nearby cafes, restaurants and bars. 50 m down is a little corner with a cluster of superb French food stores; a fabulous boulangerie/patisserie, a fromagerie, and a confiserie all tree absolutely ‘must try'! The only slight drawback was the one small, slow lift but overall, this hotel was delightful.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Phil, First of all, let me thank you for the time you took for sharing your experience. We are glad that you enjoyed our hotel and its neighbourhood as our hotel is really central and it is perfect for anybody who wish to be able to visit Paris by walking. But of course, public transportation being nearby, that is also another solution to move and visit our city ;) Seing your satisfaction, I am sure we will have the pleasure to welcome you again soon. The room was better than I expected, it was very big and cozy. The location was great, close to metro and with a very nice view. This hotel is close to the Opera and there are a lot of restaurants and stores for shopping, close to the hotel.

"Great room, poor service"

Inna P, Darmstadt, Germany 16/07/2018

Stayed in the hotel during the weekend. Hotel is nicely located, very nice interior, cozy and comfortable rooms. Unfortunately service wasn't nice. On check-in I was informed that breakfast was included in the rate, at checkout they charged me for breakfast which wasn't included. Breakfasts was poor: not much to choose from, after having such breakfast I felt to go to eat something outside. Probably I'd come again since I really liked the room and location.

"Not worth it"

LaCiboulette, norway 06/07/2018

Avoid this hotel. Beds are worn out, pillows are too hard and high. No water pressure in shower any time of day. Curtains are hanging by chance. Guest before me had been smoking on balcony. Nobody removed the cigarette stumps for the entire week I was there. Elevator super slow. Breakfast in room is ok but I never succeeded in getting exactly what I asked for, so it seems like the organisation on back office is quite messy. Air condition works well.

"Very good location and close to metro"

4
crkollector, Lakewood, Ohio 01/07/2018

The location of this hotel, which has the feel of a boutique hotel, is excellent. Small stores and restaurants nearby and just 2 blocks in one direction from a metro stop and a another a little further down, but I never took that one so not sure of exact distance. The rooms are on the small side for 2 people and there is no drawer space, just some shelving in the closet. It all works, though. The staff is very helpful and if there is any issue or anything you need, they respond very quickly and cheerfully. The breakfast buffet offers an ample selection and there is a small bar off the front lobby where you can get coffee or juice in the morning. (extra cost, not included as part of the breakfast). I would stay here again.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your review on our hotel, following your stay with us. This hotel is nothing like it shows on pics. 3 stars max. Looks needs an update. Carpets old, one small elevator insufficient Room smelled cigarettes. The only good thing is location, but is nothing like other best western premier or plus we have stayed.

Not far from metro and very central, the service I received was very good, I had a very clean standard room, it was small but the bathroom was spacious . The room service is very practical, you choose at what time you want your breakfast and they bring it to your room. No need to start getting out of bed and all. I really appreciated my stay over.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you for your nice review regarding your stay with us. Our hotel, as you say, is well situated on Metro line N°7, between 2 subway stations and at a walking distance. this is a very bad hotel and does not have 4 stars. The room is very small, the decoration is old and carpet are dameged. Teh elevator was inssuficiente for a 6 stoty building. I do not recomend this hotel.

Dear Chilean2018, I would like to apologize for our hotel not being able to reply to your expectation. This hotel was in a great location in walking distance from all the attractions we wanted to visit. The staff were very helpful with information and spoke excellent English which certainly helped us. Looking out on Rue la Fayette we thought should be very noisy, which it was when windows were opened, but when closed, total noise blockout. We loved the noise and then the silence!

Dear Elizabeth J, Thank you for the time you spent to share your recent experience in our hotel. As discribed, our staff is always pleased to help our guests in any way possible. "Another over rated hotel I'm afraid"

Jason H, Eastleigh, United Kingdom 28/05/2018

First things first, why do hotel chains think it is sensible to arrest a hotel as 4 or 5 star when , the minute you. Ross the threshold you, the paying customer knows it isn't. Nothing comes from this. so here it goes.... This hotel is at best a 2 star hotel. It is far inferior to a budget chain such as Ibis, Novotel etc. The service was poor and the carpet and walls were filthybut I must save the description of the room to last...it was dire..the bed was only accessible from one side due to a slopping roof. The bathroom was horrible and you literally could not swing a cat in the room it was that small. I have no problem with these rooms being marketed and available but please be honest with your rating and pricing. The photos hopefully do this some justice.

Catherine M, Directeur adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Jason H, First of all, I would like to apologize as I can see that we were not able to satisfy you during your recent stay. I am really surprised to read your description of our hotel and especially your room as you got one of our renovated room which usually pleased our guest. The size of the room is the standard of parisian room, but all the information and photos are available on the website you used for your booking. Of course, it is still possible to upgrade in a superior room by amending your booking with our front desk staff if you make that request, but unfortunately you did not mention your unsatisfaction to us during your stay. Please, feel free to contact our staff for any needs/requests you may have as you main priority is your satisfaction. We are still hope to see you again during your next trip in Paris. The hotel's located just 2min from the metro line 7 and green line is also walking distance. Opera, lafayette is also walking distance, everywhere you decided to go is so much easier by the metro than any other hotel. Near the hotel, just around right corner of the hotel theres a convenience store that is a good point too. The staffs are very friendly, when we arrived the hotel at around 10 a.m. normally early check-in is not accepted, so we asked to keep our luggage for a while to go tour, the staff let us check in at that time because the rooms ready. cause We already had stayed at the other best western hotel in paris before we use this hotel, but faubourg is much better than everything, the bed was super comfy, hotel roomdesign was like boutique hotel. Clearliness? its definately perfect. If i go to paris again someday i will choose this hotel without hesitation. theres no reason not to choose here.

Catherine M, Directeur adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Boiscroix, Thank you a lot for that wonderfull comment. It is always really inspiring to read our guests satisfaction, as our staff main priority is your satisfaction. Even if the check-in is ensured at 3p.m., when we do have the possibility to make our guests more confortable, we try to do early check-in when available. Our hotel is a boutique hotel designed on the thema of London and the british movies. We are glad you appreciated it :) We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again soon. This hotel is 1 minute walk from the nearest Metro station. It's also very easy to walk up to to the Chaussée d'Antin - La Fayette station: it takes 10-15 minutes. I could save money by using a convenience store, CITY and some budget restaurants within kissing distance from the hotel. Hotel staff seemed to be kind and expansive. I will choose to stay here again if given the chance to revisit Paris.

joanwd, Chicago, Illinois 23/05/2018

I was a little apprehensive lugging my suitcase down the narrow, dim winding corridor to my room, but delighted by the retro movie decor, the french windows opening on to Juliet balconies with iconic Parisian views of the street scene and the comfortable bed and shower. Breakfast was very good and the hostess was charming. The man who carried our bags in was equally charming and friendly and staffed the small bar because the regular man was out sick. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this small, hidden gem.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay, really nice hotel in a great location (2 minute walk from Le Peletier metro station) The look and feel of the place is great, its nice and clean. The room was not big but was overall nice, the balcony was great as was the facilities inside. The only issues i would raise were that some of the bits in the bathroom wanted refreshing as black silicone in places, the cubical door did not close correctly and on one of the days we were out we returned at 16:30 and were not allowed in our room as it was being cleaned! which was annoying as we had been out since 8:30am. overall it was a very good hotel, clean and friendly in a great location (get familiar with the underground and you will have a great time)

"Dishonest"

PMM333, Victor, Idaho 17/05/2018

Most dishonest hotel in Paris. We booked on the hotel web site (not BW) to get a better rate, but we never received an email confirmation. We called to confirm and were told there was not a problem. We booked the rate that included breakfast for 20 euros more. After we had started to eat the breakfast, we were told breakfast was not included. The hotel then without our authorization and after we checked out charged the card we used to reserve the room but not the card we used to pay for the room. Very dishonest. The manager is nasty--I have the emails to prove it. Don't stay here. And don't be fooled by the cheap rates--this hotel will rip you off.

Catherine M, Deputy Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Guest, You booked a rate without breakfast. The fact that you did not receive a confirmation means you did not enter a valid email address or you did not check your junk emails, as you made the booking yourself through a website; which also means you choose this rate yourself ! You called to check the booking, and everything was fine on our side (booking received + guarantee provided). You never asked if the breakfast was included at that time. Once you came at the breakfast room for the 1st morning, we informed you that the breakfast was not included and invited you to sign an "extra breakfast ticket", but you contested that fact and still ate the breakfast. We provided the confirmation we received from the website to you on that day, proof of what you booked, but even with that, you keep repeating we are dishonest. At your departure, you were informed about this charge to be paid, but you refused and left without paying it. You were charged for the amount of the breakfast as you provided a credit card as guarantee for this kind of situation. Knowing that the only thing written in my 2 emails are: - the information I wrote previous in this comment - the invoice regarding your payment , I cannot understand why I would be someone nasty. Our hotel should not be blamed for something we are not responsible for. Regards, Damien Willemain Deputy Manager

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely 2 nights. Located one block from Le Peletier Metro Stop on the No 7 line.. 20 minutes walk from the Gare du Nord train station. Had a king bed that was very comfortable. The room was clean and compact, with a balcony and had a view of Rue la Fayettte. Had lots of restaurants close by. For breakfast, there was a nice selection for E19/per person extra. The staff was excellent- helpful and friendly.

User 11/05/2018

This is a fantastic hotel because of it's location and staffs. Very nice and friendly staffs and also English speakers too (which is very important to those of us who don't speak French). The location of this hotel is very good as it is a well lit and great street, Rue La Fayette. There are so many restaurants in this area and two very close by Metro - Le Peletier and Cadet. The Opera house is just about 0.5 mile away as well as the Museum of Fragrance (which is free admission) and Galleries La Fayette. A couple of churches is also nearby and there is a walkway passage with shops inside. Back to the hotel, our room was spacious very nice with balcony and king size bed. The bathroom is clean with shower stall. There is an electronic safe in the room. One elevator which might require a bit of waiting if there's too many people especially those with big luggage. Our morning breakfast is good and the staffs are very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. I am sure that it will make a wonderful stay when in Paris.

"Great hotel, great staff!"

Anneli E, Tromso, Norway 01/05/2018

A nice hotell, central in Paris, near at least two metro-stations. We originally booked a standard double room, but they told us we got a free upgrade to a superior room, which was nice. We stayed for 4 nights. The room and bathroom was clean, and the bed was big and nice to sleep in. The room was not very spacious, but ok for two people. The staff was super friendly and were very helpful. We needed to print our tickets for Disneyland and they did it for us when we didn't figure out how to do it ourselves. The breakfast was also very good, and there was refreshments like water with lemon and some candy in the reception.

Chris L, Cheshire, United Kingdom 30/04/2018

The hotel maybe ok if you get the room you reserve. However, after booking and paying for a none refundable room and arriving at 11pm we were told I had been emailed to cancel on me. No refund was offered, no choice of where I would stay instead and no apology. We were offered a taxi to replacement hotel but this hotel was not convenient for our stay (& had a less expensive nightly rate!). Disgusting that no refund was offered and emails have been ignored afterwards. Avoid avoid avoid!

Catherine M, Deputy Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Mr Chris L, First of all, I would like to apologize once again for the disturb. We had technical issues in some rooms which obligated us to relocated a few rooms, including yours. As soon as we were aware that we would not be able to welcome you, we emailed you this information and offered you a substitute hotel in the same standard and in the same area to minimize the inconvenience. Regarding your emails, the only one we received was from Hotels.com which one I replied directly, so I cannot agree with the last part of your comment. We tried to find the most suitable option for you and I am really sorry to see that we did not succee to reply to your expectation. I hope we will have the chance to convince you about our professionalism during your next stay. Best regards, Damien Willemain Deputy Manager

"Good Value hotel near Le Peltier met station"

3
stoneleigh93, Houston, TX 21/04/2018

Although this hotel has a quirky layout of small rooms, the price was good and the beds were comfortable. The lobby area was small and often there were groups of smokers standing just outside the front door, but the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast seemed rushed due to several large tour groups trying to eat at the same time and the tables were small and close together. We often ate at the nearby Pret A Manger for coffee and croissants or sandwiches.

"Well-located hotel"

Katie H, Lille, France 07/04/2018

The best thing about this hotel is its location. A short walk from the Gare du Nord and the Opéra and a 30 minute walk to some of the main sites and museums (Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou). We went almost everywhere on foot. The room was small and quite chic with quirky décor. We were on the 6th floor and were not bothered by noise from the road below. My only criticism is for the breakfast. It was nice enough with all your basics (eggs, cereal, croissants, fruit salad) but for a 4-star hotel I expected better quality products and more homemade choices.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Katie, Thank you for your review following your stay with us. As mentionned, our hotel is well located in Paris, at walking distance for shopping and tourism. Metro station is also at 2mn minutes by walk to join other part of Paris. We are happy to read that you like the decoration of our rooms. Sorry if we did not answered to your expectation for breakfast, because, we offer a large choice of products and home made products as : Cakes, French toast, marmelade. Nevertheless, we hope we wil have the pleasure to welcome you in the future.

"Smiling faces but no action or services passion"

1
Adnan M, Jeddah 31/03/2018

As soon as you enter, smiling faces are welcoming you but when you are in, you discover that the smiling faces don't have the passion to serve you up to the level of 4 star hotel at all, from my experience, 2 star for the hotel is an exaggerating rating, no concierge, no amenities in the room, you should request them on daily basis, even the cotton bud they don't serve it, we request it from the reception and they offer us a pack of 4 cotton bud and after 2 days they say the room will support you with, when they did not we request from reception but they claim not available, they are very Stingy they do support water on daily basis, they do not refill the free coffee and sugar on daily basis unless you request it you need to beg them to do it, smiling is nothing without good service, on hotel page you will see balcony with chairs, ha ha ha they are fooling the guest with this picture too, Finally the rooms are too small and I think any person with weight 150 K will not even be able to pass from one side to the next side of the room (picture attached with 30 cm pathway between bed and table)

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Adnan, First of all, I would like to apologize for not answering your expectation during your stay. It is not a normal occurence and it is not usual to deliver such service. I am surprised concerning your comment with balcony with chairs. We do not have any rooms with chairs on the balcony. After checking on our web site, there is no picture showing balcony with chairs, but showing our street side, with the bar and 2 tables and chairs. As you saw picture of our hotel with chairs on the balcony on a web site, it will be interesting for me to get it, because this information is at this time wrong. Once again, sorry for this stay and we take good note of your comments in order to provide a good and regular service.

Worth a cent to stay in this hotel. The staff are super friendly, rooms are very clean and very convenient for everyone. The service is great. Excellent hotel.

fwaked, Mount Lebanon Governorate, Lebanon 21/03/2018

The location is excellent. I reserved a superior room but it was not large enough; about 13 sqm. and not as stated in the website. The breakfast is tasty and very good. Even it was a non smoking floor but every time i pass in the corridor i smell the smoke. In general it is good but i don't repeat it.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you for your review following your stay with us, even if the room was not big enough according your expectation. I think you booked for a standard room, but we also propose Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suite in the hotel. I apologize for the tobacco smell, nevertheless the hotel is a no smoking hotel in the room as in the public area. Unfortunatly, some of our clients do not respect this requirement. I, of course understand, it is not pleasant at all. I hope that you were able to taste our home-made cakes and French toasts. In spite of your last thought, I hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again in the future.

"Quaint hotel with good train and subway access."

4
CFII, Houston Texas 20/03/2018

After lots and lots of research, we settled on this property based on a combination of it's price range and location. The hotel is approximately a 15 to 20 minute walk from Gare du Nord, we had no problems finding the hotel at all, despite being our first time arriving by train. Common of hotel rooms in Europe, the rooms are a bit smaller than we're used to in the US so we booked two rooms to accommodate a family of four. That option worked out quite well. The property is quaint and the stay was pleasant, everything in the room worked and the location was ideal for us with just a short subway ride to the center of Paris with one change of train. The breakfast room staff were extremely attentive and the selections varied enough to accommodate everyone's taste. Where things could be improved, would be the time spent during the check-in/check-out process. One of our rooms was not ready until 5:30pm on the day of check-in due to some electrical problem the maintenance crew was working on. It would have been nice to just have been assigned a different room rather than wait. Otherwise, we had memorable stay. I'd highly recommend Faubourg Montmartre Souvenirs shop just down the street on 24 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre, they have a much better quality and selection souvenirs than the merchants near the monuments.

We stayed here for a weekend in March. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is in a great location and near to several Metro lines. The hotel is clean and quirky. The rooms small but perfectly formed. It's also very reasonably priced! I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I just stayed here and loved it! I came to Paris when I was young and was duped by online photos so I was nervous on picking a hotel. I'm so glad I chose this one! We couldn't do an early check-in when our flight got us here at 8am but they stored our luggage and had a clean restroom to freshen up while we started our day. The front desk was so helpful! Emilie and everyone provided us detailed directions on how to navigate the metro, recommended and made reservations for dinner for us, and was just so friendly and accommodating..especially when I mistakenly only booked 2 nights instead of the 3 I needed. I'd love to stay here again! Great wifi, close to everything in walking or metro distance and I even noticed on our last night a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower! Thanks for recommendations for drinks at Le Baron and getting my husband some Bouillabaisse from Mollard on our last night! See you again soon!

The hotel has a great location in between two Metro stations. You can also have a leisurely walk to Boulevard Hausmann and Galerie Lafayette. Good and inexpensive restaurants as well so you have plenty of options. The room has a nice view of the buildings in front and the street. The room atmosphere itself is very cosy and the bathroom is quite spacious. Love the interior of the room too. Wish I could stay longer. Will book earlier next time and stay longer.

Mary N, Dublin, Ireland 08/03/2018

Lovely hotel ,close to the metro and only a fifteen minute walk to Galerie Lafayette, the Opera and the terminus for the airport Roissybus. The bedroom was small but well appointed with a balcony overlooking the Rue Lafayette with tea and coffee making facilities. It had an excellent walk in shower and good lighting in the bathroom. Our planned three night stay was extended to seven nights due to weather conditions at Dublin airport. The hotel reception couldn't have been more helpful in arranging to extend our stay on a daily basis. I would rate this hotel at 5, but for the breakfast which was a little disappointing. "Perfect location"

4
MatjazZ1, Ljubljana, Slovenia 03/03/2018

This hotel has a perfect location for longer walking tours around Paris. 10 minutes to the Opera and Galeries Lafayette, 20 minutes to Montmartre, Pigalle, Louvre, Centre Pompidou, 30 minutes to Notre Dame ... Rooms are rather small, but comfortable, bed is very good, hotel is clean, people are friendly. The only problem was smell in the bathroom, coming from the sewage system. The street is not very noisy during the night and with windows closed there was no problem with noise at all.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear MatjazZ1, It is a real pleasure to read your comment, thank you. As described, our location is central, which is very convenient whatever the reasons of your stay. I am sorry for the disturb regarding the smell. We have found the problem and solved it since your report. I am glad the rest of your stay went the way you wanted and that you were able to enjoy the calm of your room. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again soon. "Great Location"

Duncan E, Stroud, United Kingdom 20/02/2018

Great Hotel in a really useful location, around a 20 minute walk from the Gare du Nord. Very welcoming always someone there to help. We had the Superior Double room which was a fair size, with a nice balcony out overlooking Rue La Fayette. Breakfast is superb, loads on offer in a relaxed atmosphere... and the cake is excellent. Highly recommended!

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Duncan, Thank you very much for your nice review follwing your stay with us. Very happy to read you enjoyed our hotel and breakfast with our home-made cakes. Our hotel, well situated for shopping, restaurants and visits, we try also to make every stay so pleasant as possible. Hope to see you during your next stay in our hotel.

"Nice and central for both Eurostar and sightseeing"

Derekf444, London, United Kingdom 07/02/2018

Nice and friendly hotel about 15 minutes walk from the Eurostar terminal. Close to 3 metro stops (line 4 and 12). Slightly dated in parts (lift & corridors) but nice reception/lobby and breakfast area. Breakfeast was great with a very good fresh selection of food/drinks. The room was a good size for Paris with the added bonus of a balcony. Would highly recommend and will use again next time I'm in Paris.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Derek, Thank you very much for your feedback following your stay with us and recommendation. As mentionned, we are not far from Gare du Nord (Eurostar), but also from Saint Lazare Station and East Station. We are very happy to read you enjoyed our breakfast. I hope you tasted our home made cakes or baked apples. Hope to see you for your next trip in Paris and do not hesitate to contact us directly to book your room.

Rooms are not very big, but are very comfortable. Thw shower is very good. The staff is friendly and forthcoming. Mounir and Georges were very helpful. It is close to the Opera and Galeries Lafayette. There is a metro station nearby and a nice brasserie

"Decent Size Rooms"

User 13/12/2017

We stayed here part of a tour in November and we were very surprised with the size of the rooms. We loved that we were able to sleep with out window open each night. We loved the bed. It was so comfortable! The lights in hats was a unique touch. We were happy with the bath products. They smelt amazing. The colors were bright and the door handles for the rooms were so cute. The elevator was not great, however the stairs were easy to use and close by. The breakfast had a good selection and the location of the hotel to the metro was good. It was just a short walk to the Louvre. We would stay here again

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Cari, We are glad to read your nice comment and be sure I am really thankfull for the time you dedicated to share it with us. "Great and convenient location"

peihaotseng, Taipei, Taiwan 27/11/2017

This is my fourth time stayed at the hotel this year (2017). Great and convenient location. The high-floor room with balcony for looking over the street view. Comfortable bed, well equipped and air-conditioning in the room. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Don't like the small and slowly elevator/lift. I never ate breakfast at the hotel because it was basic with limited choices. The carpet in the room looked dirty needs to be renovated, or to be changed wooden flooring if possible.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear peihaotseng, First of all, I would like to thank you for your loyalty with our hotel and your feedback regarding our service. We take note of your comments for the room. During your next stay, I would like to exchange for further ideas in order to know your expectations for breakfast. We propose a wide range of items sweet and savoury and also a part of Home made cakes and marmelade. So do not hesitate to ask me at reception during your next stay in Paris. Regards. C.MARAIS

"Old Hotel in New jacket"

3
607hoppper, Amsterdam, The Netherlands 12/11/2017

Hotel; I think it was an old hotel, holes in the ceiling are taped just as the old head boards. However they did it quite nice. The rooms were cleaned perfectly every day. Beds sleep great and are big! Breakfast staff was very nice, tuesday till friday there were no breads just the long 'pans". The toaster didn't work, if you wanted to toast your bread, the flow of the cooling fell out. I bet the next step is renewing the whole buffet. The whole staff was very Nice, from the incheck till the check out! Perfect.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear 607hoppper, Thank you for that nice review. I am surprised that you did not had bread several days in a row as we receive deliveries with differents kind and forms of breads every morning. Regarding the toaster, unfortunately it had an electrical issue and since then, has been replaced. I will make sure our staff is aware of your feeling about their services during your stay. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again soon. Best regards, Damien Willemain Assistant Manager

"Average hotel "

User 03/11/2017

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. I can start by telling you that the location was good as its very close to the metro station and 10 min walk to the Opera, some of the reception staff were nice and helpful. The rooms are very small its either you or the bags in the room. Traffic Noises can be heard inside the room. They provide the normal (shampoo+body wash 2*1)! And if you want a set of shampoo and body lotion you have to pay for it. I had an issue regarding my payment at the check out as my booking was non refundable they deducted the amount(except the tax de séjour)when i made the reservation, and when i did the check out they asked me to pay it again saying that the first deducted amount was only (blocked) and non taken from my account! While the other hotels they only asked me to pay the tax de séjour, so i ended up paying it again.to be fair the first amount was recovered later but honestly for me i had a limit on using my credit card when travelling so this affected me as they blocked the initial payment plus 120€then the last payment, so it affected my trip. And when i contacted their costumer service (by email) no one bothered to reply to my email. Its not bad as a hotel its just overrated by saying its a 4* hotel.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Waael, Thank you for sharing your personnal experience with us. I am glad to read your enjoyment regarding the location of our hotel and the dedication of our staff. However, I can confirm you that the refill of shower products are free of charge as we do offer them as complementary during all the stay. Regarding your booking payment, as the booking was not non-refundable, the payment is only requested at the departure. The amount bloqued is only a guarantee. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again soon. Best regards, Damien Willemain Assistant Manager

"Very poor room"

2
IndexMan999, London, United Kingdom 29/10/2017

The room was absolutely tiny, so small that the chair would not fit behind the desk and I had to place the chair at right angles to the desk and use my laptop sitting "side-saddle". What's more the temperature control was clearly not working on the shower because it went from scalding hot to freezing cold if you moved the gauge just one millimetre. All in all, very disappointing and I will not stay here again.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear IndexMan999, Firstly I would like to apologize for our hotel not being able to reply to your expectations, as our guest's satisfaction is our priority. We know that some people are disturbed by the Parisians' standarts regarding the size, so feel free to contact our front desk team if you wish to find a room suitable to your desires if it is not the case when you made your booking. I hope you will change your mind and provide us another chance to show you the quality of our establishment. Best regards, Damien Willemain Assistant Manager

"Not a 4 star hotel"

2
User 18/10/2017

We checked in last night...the reception clerk seemed incompetent. Our reservation was for two twin beds...we got a double. I went down to reception to make a change and was told they couldn't do it, meaning they never actually reserved for us what we wanted. The room is small, the shower inadequate...I will never use best western again.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, First I would like to aologize for not responding to your expectation regarding a room with twin beds at your arrival. The day of your arrival, the hotel was fully booked, in consequence the reception clerk could not propose you a twin room, on the other hand, he will of course propose you an alternative with a room with 2 beds. Once again, all our apolgize for this disagreement. Best regards. C.MARAIS

olivialee2017, Seoul, South Korea 15/10/2017

Great location, friendly and professional staffs, can't be better! Warm welcome at reception was exceptional! Every question during my stay to staff was all well answered and helpful during my trip. One little thing, was not fully aware a small bottle of water cost me around 5 euro every day except the night I arrived.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Olivia, Thank you very much for your nice review. We try and work every day to propose to all our guests a great experience in our hotel. "Good location"

4
Morley R, Pompignac, France 06/10/2017

I have to agree with some of the other people that I'm not sure this hotel should have 4 stars. The access to the bedrooms are down a long, narrow and fairly dark corridor that twists and turns. The bedroom was not very spacious but it was clean. You could see the bedroom had been redone, it's just a shame they didn't change the carpet at the same time and put something lighter in as the lighting isn't ideal. The bed & linen were perfect - no complaints there. The shower took quite a long time to warm up in the morning and there was no pressure in the head so it just sort of dribbled out. I did think that breakfast at 19 euros a head was expensive. There was a good choice but the scambled eggs were completely tasteless even although they looked lovely and fluffy. I did have a problem in my room which was sorted out by the staff quickly and efficently. The hotel does have a big plus in the fact that is very central and close to the main shops, theatres and other attractions and the metro is very close by too.

Catherine M, Assistant Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Morley R, Firstly, I would like to thank you for sharing your experience as it helps us to improve our services daily. Parisians building can have specific layout, like our hotel, but it is also what make it charming usually. Regarding our breakfast, most of the products are home made or are local products, which is explaining the pricing. I am glad that you appreciated the choice we have. As you explained it rightly, our location is really perfect if you wish to move easily in Paris, for visiting, shopping or working. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again. Best regards, Damien Willemain Assistant Manager

"27th wedding anniversary - promised a lot, delivered nothing"

2
Smeg1, London 18/09/2017

Arrived and entrance and foyer quite pleasant. Normally Paris hotels have compact entrances. Checked in fine and up to room. Think I got upgrade but should do as diamond card holder. Good start. 2 days before we came I phoned to ask for flowers in the room as it was our wedding anniversary. I was told to phone back and speak to housekeeping when they were in!! That is not a good approach to your customers. However, I then got an email asking how they could make our stay better - great I thought, I would ask for flowers. THERE WAS NOTHING in the room. Why send those emails when you don't action? When I asked reception about this, they were really unhelpful, said nothing could be done and the chap verged on being rude. I think they should remove the sign they have in the reception - see photo Room was tired - 500. There is s large gap around door leading to outside fire exit. Tap in bathroom was loose. Bedside table chipped. Holes in fabric ceiling with sellotape over. Bathroom also generally tired. Room was quiet though. This is somehow rated as 4 star but to be 4 star you need quality rooms with excellent customer service. This is a safe 3 star and nowhere near 4 star. I have had better service in 2 star hotels. Normally I get free water left out and a couple of chocolates (as diamond member) - I had to ask for water and no chocolates. It's a small thing but goes a long way. Conveniently located for Gare du Nord and also Opera, where u can get to most places from. There are cheaper better hotels than this - I have stayed in a few, some were Best Westerns.

Catherine M, Assistant Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Smeg1, Firstly, I would like to apologize for our hotel not being able to provide you the service you should have received. Many miscommunication explained this situation. You have been upgraded for free as we were aware of the special event you were coming for and your special BWR statut, but we did not receive the flower request by email. We are currently investigating with our informatic service to understand why and to solve it. I personnally made a meeting with our front desk staff to remember everybody that our guests satisfaction is a priority, especially for this kind of special request, like flower, chocolate, etc... Once again, I apologize for the situation as it does not reflect at all nor our policy, neither Bestwestern's. I hope we will have the chance to welcome you again, and to show you all the professionalism we show usually. Warm regards, Damien Willemain Assistant Manager

"Disappointing. "

3
babsinesher, Esher, United Kingdom 06/08/2017

The staff deserve a 5/5 for their kindness, however the hotel doesn't deserve a 4*label. Our room(103)on the first night was so small we couldn't fit our small bag and ourselves! The walls were very thin and our neighbours must have been suffering from jet lag as we could hear them sighing from about 4:30am. The cleaner came into our room ...uninvited at 8 am asking "service"! The shower overflowed, due to what looked like leaves (tea hopefully!) blocking the drains! Oh and the plug to charge our phone didn't work either so we used the one for the lamp instead. To be fair, I did complain and was told we were going to be moved to another room. This they did, but only in the afternoon so we had no use of a room for half a day! We only stayed for 2. The new room was much better, slightly bigger, comfy beds and clean. If we had been given this in the first place my rating would have been a 4. People travelling with lots of big luggage beware the rooms are very small even for Paris standards.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you for your nice comment regarding the staff of our hotel. Each team try to do the best every day in order to propose a good service for all of our clients. I think you booked a standard room, and the size can seemed small when you have some luggages. With the other room we proposed and stayed in, I hope your enjoyed the other part of your stay. Hope to see you for a next trip in Paris, and do not forget to book for a superior room. Regards.

This hotel used to be the Jules, but is now the Best Western. The service and hotel is still the best, and the staff are beyond friendly. All of this, plus the fact that it's about 50 meters from the metro stop, make it a must stay while you're in Paris. I've been staying there for over 15 years!

p-freggi, Rome, Italy 09/07/2017

1)anybody say you hello or welcome when you enter in the hotel: you have just to wait that somebody asks you what do you want...2) dress code of the reception staff is messy and with any style 3) reception staff did't know that we understand french and so we had the gently experience to listen their comments about my husband work: it was bad manner example 3) breakfast is served in a close and sad room, without a window!!! ... "non ci siamo proprio!!!"...

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review

"Do not use safe in hotel"

1
ngsabate, Mons, Belgium 06/07/2017

Stayed at this hotel and used the safe in the room....we just discovered that I lost $2,500 from my wallet that was inside the safe which was locked, thinking back it happened when I had breakfast before checkout. Unfortunately was already in Belgium when I discovered the missing money in my wallet.

Catherine M, Gérant at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Guest, I am sorry to read your comment regarding our hotel, but we cannot accept this type of charge. The procedure for the opening of the safe is extremely secured and can be done only by a manager. I am surprised that you did not contact the hotel directly in order to inform us of your problem. As the comment is made in a anonymous way, I have no information regarding your stay. So, I stay of course at your disposal to discuss on this matter. Regards. C.MARAIS

"Uncomfortable room - you can do better"

2
ketchup99, New York 19/06/2017

Most mid-range European hotels are very small, especially by U.S. standards. What matters as a guest is whether they're intelligently designed to provide a shelf or two to unpack, or - at a minimum - someplace to put 2 carryon suitcases other than the floor. Our room was among the more tiny ones we've stayed in, but also had zero surface space other than a tiny desk. The problem of where to put our small suitcases could have been easily solved with a second folding luggage rack, but the front desk denied our request because "There is only one luggage rack provided per room." There's no excuse for rationing these inexpensive items and our constantly tripping over the remaining bag squeezed between the bed and wall. One other gripe: we used WhatsAp for text and calls throughout France wherever we had Wifi. At this hotel, oddly, only the text feature of the ap worked - the calls went through but without sound. We assume the hotel's Wifi was unusually weak and the phone service needed a better signal.

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Ketchup99, First of all, I would like to thank you for your comment as it will help us to improve the quality of our service. I apologize if the room was not at your taste. We do have different kind of rooms which would reply to your expectation regarding the size. As you explained it, Paris' standards are very specifics and could easily surprise our guests. Regarding the wifi, I am surprised as we do provide internet through Fiber optic which is one of the faster connexion available. Sometimes, it is up to the phone configuration, which is why I suggest you to contact our front desk staff when disturbences like that happened. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again and convince you of our quality of service. Best regards, Damien WILLEMAIN Director Adjoint

"Loved staying here!"

Audrey9-14-13, Chicago, Illinois Usa 12/06/2017

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. We think Best Western purchased an existing French hotel because it certainly had a "French" feel to it. Our room was very comfortable and had plenty of space. We had two doors leading to the balcony that overlooked the street. The bathroom had an adorable medicine cabinet and towel warmers. The delicious breakfast had a variety of selections. The staff was excellent and accommodating. An extra plus is it is located just a short walk from the Metro. All in all --- a great experience. We hated to leave!

Catherine M, Directeur Adjoint at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Audrey, It is a real satisfaction to read your nice review, thank you for taking the time to share it with us. The confort of our guest, and the service provided are the main preoccupations of our hotel, and we are glad to see you enjoyed it. We are waiting for the pleasure to see again for your next trip. Warm regards, Damien WILLEMAIN Director Adjoint

"Hotel ok for easy staying."

User 27/05/2017

Nice small cozy hotel in a very convenient location easy to get taxi and metro. Rooms are comfortable even AC not very easy to adjust as too hot or too cold. Bed and mattress are ok. Bathroom not bad. Wifi weak. Breakfast simple and not many options with so so quality. Personnel nice and gentle and helpful. Price ok considering normal Paris expensive hotel fee level. Ok for business stay.

Dear Angelo, Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay with us. All your comments are duly identified in order to improve every day our service. "ROBBED DURING STAY - Hotel not to be recommended"

1
paulalexander1, Moscow, Russia 17/05/2017

I WAS ROBBED DURING MY STAY: Valuables stolen out of room amounting to 4.500€. Management denies every responsibility eventhough no physical break-in traces were found / our room was the only one targeted / rooms are not lockable from the exterior / housekeeping reacted suspiciously after being asked if they had seen anything irregular (hastily whispering after losing sight of us). The hotel management argues that, due to the key card reader not showing any suspicious key-card movements they can not be held responsible - eventhough the hotel staff uses physical keys to enter the door and therefore can not be tracked. These hints support the assumption that the hotel staff had something to do with the burglary. The management is not at all cooperative with handling the issue and keeps stating that - as no traces were found - they are relieved from every liability. The reception even stated that these incidents happen on the regular.. Not good! ONCE AGAIN, I RECOMMEND TO AVOID THIS HOTEL.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Mr Bures, Once again, I am very sorry and apologize for the trouble during your stay. We understand it is not a pleasant experience at all. Reception staff from night and day try to do the maximum to organize the investagations with the police Department. I will transfer you the information and the return from our Legal Department. "Good option for Paris"

The hotel is well located near the city centre. The service was nice, and people where very welcoming. The rooms were pretty clean, though I am not a carpet fan. I was expecting more noise since it is in a busy street but not at all, il was quite calm. On top we were lucky and found a discount for this hotel so we got a good price.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Esther, Thank you for your review following your stay with us. As you mentionned, Best Western Premier Opéra Faubourg is well located in Paris, near Metro and bus station and at walking distance from a lot of points of interest. In spite of the street side, all the rooms have double glazing window, so you can benefit of the street view without disagrement. We hope to welcome you again for your next trip in Paris. Regards. We visit Paris first time. Because we always travel with our dog, we searched for a dog friendly hotel. This hotel has fully met all our expectations. Our room was very comfortable, nicely decorated and we could sleep very well. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast surprised with a great selection. Around the corner is a bus stop and the metro is also just two crossroads away. Walking distance to the Seine Island on foot takes only twenty minutes.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, Thank you so much for your kind feedback for our hotel. We know that it is imortant for our customers to travel with their pets, so we accept to welcome them also. An of course, the location of the hotel, allows to visit Paris by walk, bus or metro. Hoping to see you again for your next trip in Pris. C.MARAIS

I spent 3 nights at the hotel with my son. The rooms are very small but functional and clean The service of all the team was excellent they did all they could to assist us in making our stay in the hotel comfortable and in Paris enjoyable and we really felt welcome. I would come again in my next visit.

Stayed in this little hotel for 4 days in May 2017. The location is perfect, close to metro stations and bus stops. About 50 min. from airport with metro. We walked to many monuments. There are many restaurants and cafes, pharmacies, and markets around the hotel. We stayed at room number 510, we had a balcony and the street view was nice. I believe the room was bigger than other Paris hotels' rooms. We were able to see the top of Eiffel tower at nights. Room was clean and well-equipped, bed was big enough and comfy. Also very silent. Employees were friendly and helpful. We used to stay in other Best Western hotels in other cities and never regret it. Thanks for all, hope to meet at other locations.

Catherine M, Manager at Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Sevdeart, Thank you so much for your feedback. I am very happy to read your spent a very nice trip in Paris and with us. It's true that Best Western Premier Opéra Faubourg is well located with a lot of shops, restaurants, shopping center, trains stations, bus and Metros just nearby. "BOUTIQUE HOTEL: YUCK!!!"

2
VikingHurst, Indianapolis, Indiana 06/05/2017

This place is billed as a boutique hotel which means that no one over forty, weighing over130 pounds, or having more than a carry-one case for luggage should try it. There was very little furniture: No dresser was especially a disappointment. The beds were small. The tub wall was designed for a seven footer: it was too hard to get over. They refused to turn on the AC so we sweltered for three lousy nights. This place made Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn look glamorous. Okay, now the good stuff. They had the best breakfast EVER!! The breakfast crew worked hard and fast to make fresh food. The overall staff was quite good but understaffed. They didn't do the requested wake-up calls for the first two nights. For the third night I bribed them. IF one meets the above requirements, I guess it was okay. This place was booked by our tour company. I gladly would have paid a hundred dollars more a night for a DECENT room.

"Great stay"

Rebecca C, Basingstoke, United Kingdom 06/05/2017

All good, apart from one member of staff in breakfast room appeared very unfriendly...nothing was said, but you felt you shouldn't be there.. Also, morning we checked out, we had cleaner knocking on door three times to see when we were leaving room despite check out being midday.... Having said that, we would certainly return to the hotel as everything else was great.

Even the weather is very cold in Paris, Hotel's heater was not working. So everybody was sick because of this issue. When we ask the reception, they only offered us to give some blanket, that's all. For the rest was quite ok.

Best Western - Opera Faubourg is located very nicely (about 2 mins. walk from Le Peletier - Metro) and about 10 mins. walk to Opera in the heart of Paris. Room sizes, although a bit small are nicely decorated with modern designs and installations. The cleanliness is very good and the staff are very friendly in accommodating requests from the guests. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Paris and in the Best Western - Opera Faubourg.

Catherine M, Manager at BEST WESTERN Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review

"Disappointment"

3
Barbabelle211, Lausanne, Switzerland 23/04/2017

The standard room is way too small for 2. I stayed there with my 16 year old daughter and the bed was 140cm large. The room on the first floor was facing the busy avenue Lafayette. Quite noisy with the metro sound under the building. Not enough space around the bed and the carpet looked very dirty. No bathtub. No refill of coffee or tea bags on the 2nd day of our stay. Quite disappointing for a 4-star hotel. Pictures look great on the website but the hotel is not aging well.

Catherine M, Manager at BEST WESTERN Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, I am sorry you did not appreciated your stay with us. Standard room can seemed small, but we could propose you other alternatives as we have superior room, Deluxe and Junior Suite. During your stay, Reception and Housekeeping Department are at your disposal to provide you a lot of items, if we do not have an item, we do the maximum to help you to find it. I hope nevertheless we will havethe pleasure to welcome you again and provide you a better experience. Regards. C.MARAIS

I traveled with Road Scholar group. There was another group there at same time who ate so much of the breakfast offering that there was little left for us. I felt it necessary to be waiting at the door at opening time. Food was good and staff efficient and very pleasant, just overwhelmed. Great location for walking, metro, and restaurants. Reception staff were wonderful.

Catherine M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Perwinkle2017, Thanks you for this nice review. Our breakfast is often praised for its quality, and I see that you agree with that part. Situations with groups are always sensitives, and I am sorry if it has disturbed you at the beginning. Our staff will be very pleased to welcome you again next time. mighty20782016, New York City, New York 21/04/2017

I kept reading on trip advisor about how small the rooms were so I was a bit concerned about the size of the room. We are a family of 2 parents, a toddler and a teenager. We got the largest room size they have and it was fantastic. Def. much more space than I anticipated. There was a king sized bed and full size pull out couch in which my daughters slept. The room was very clean, modern and updated. The bathroom is beautiful as well and had all we needed. The metro station is half a block down..we found it so easy and convinient to use. The hotel is just three short stops from the Louvre. There is a mcdonalds about three blocks away (in case you need more americanized fast food) but you wont need it, the area is filled with hundreds of wonderful parisian restaurants and coffee shops. If you need a supermarket, their is one a few blocks away which made it easy to buy milk for our toddler. Try the bakery across the street...for 2 euros u can get a freshly baked croissant and freshly brewed coffee! Delish! One last thing, the hotel has a mac computer and printer in the lobby which was a lifesaver! Had to log on to my email to print something out and was able to do so with no hesitation. Oh! and Free wifi! Any questions, just ask!

Catherine M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Mighty20782016, I could not have read a better review than yours, and I am glad that your stay dissipated the few concerns you may have before arriving. Thanks ! Our location is nearly perfect if you wish to be in a Parisian area with stores and also closeby the main places of our city. The line 7 you talk about is the one desserving the center of Paris, including the Louvre Museum, the cathedrale Notre-Dame and the Opera district. Next time, I invite you to give a try to our breakfast, especially if you like the french pastries as our staff do some home-made cakes or offer fresh quality products. Warm regards, Damien Willemain Director Adjoint

I choose this hotel due to the great reviews it got on tripadvisor and booking.com I have no idea where these people stayed as this hotel is just awful. The staff at the reception were very friendly but the placed smelled, it felt like it had never been properly cleaned. I stayed in room 609. The room decor is very dated and the room size is tiny. The bedding was white and looked clean. The bed was comfy but the room did not look or feel clean. There are some questionable brown marks on the carpet. If I had known this hotel was so dirty and shabby I wouldn't have booked it so it also makes me question who on earth is leaving these glowing reviews for this hotel... Paris is an expensive place to book a hotel but I would most definitely recommend you book somewhere else...

Catherine M, Manager at BEST WESTERN Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Client, I would like to apologize for not having answered your expectations. As you write, we have a lot of great reviews on different internet sites from our clients who stay in our hotel. I am very sorry if your room was not corresponding to your wish. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. I stay of course at your disposal by phone or mail. Best regards. C.MARAIS

"Good Hotel in a convenient location"

nish613, Colombo, Sri Lanka 14/04/2017

We had a pleasant stay in the hotel. The hotel is in close proximity to two metro stations which enables easy access. Staff was very helpful and attended to our queries and needs without hesitation. The hotel is very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Good value for money. prefer if the rooms were little more spacious. Room we stayed in ( deluxe tripple) had hardly enough space to keep our luggages. If the breakfast menu can be changed at least twice a week with more varieties it will be great. Otherwise a person who is staying for a longer period will be bored with the same kind of food.

This hotel is located very close to a Metro station, but is only a short walk from Opera if you feel like a stroll. We were not too sure when we walked in if we would like it - the reception area is small and not too impressive - but the warm welcome from Mounir dispelled any doubts. Our room was on the 5th floor down a maze of very narrow corridors but the room itself, although on the small side, was very good. I don't ask for much beyond a comfortable bed, clean sheets and clean bathroom and this room delivered on all 3 counts. Plus points: two sets of french windows opening onto a small balcony, air conditioning, large towels, large bed. The only disappointment was the quality of the toiletries - only an all-in-one hair/body shampoo - no conditioner or body lotion, so anyone thinking of staying here would be well advised to bring their own. (Note to management - the scary magnifying mirror on the wall is great if you are 1.85 tall - not much use if like me you are only 1.65m.) I can't comment on breakfast - we ate out in a local cafe, but the staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and obliging. Would I stay here again? Yes!

Dear Sheila, I would like to thank you for your comments regarding our hotel. Mr_Avios, London 08/04/2017

Paris hotels can be a bit hit & miss, but this hotel has been updated and it's rooms, although rather small, are very well presented and clean. Even though it's on a main street, at least on the higher floors, it's quiet. Breakfast is in the basement and typical continental. A reliable place to stay and convenient location. Front desk service is welcoming and helpful.

Catherine M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Premier Opera Faubourg, responded to this review
Dear Mr_Avios, I am pleased to read your satisfaction and thank you for sharing with us all. As you mentioned, we recently renovated most of our rooms for the enjoyment of our guests. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The Metro stop, le Pelletier, was very close and it was easy to get to most points in Paris from there. The only thing missing was airconditioning. Although it was March, we found the room very hot at night. But other than that, a great place to stay.

Great location! Steps to several Metro stops. 15min walk to Gare de l'Est where we arrived, grocery store just around the corner. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were small but I suppose typical of European standards. Beautiful view from the 5th floor and surprisingly quiet when balcony doors were closed. Good breakfast selection of hot and cold foods, although in basement with no windows so a bit dark and one day too warm. I can't remember his name but the one member of the breakfast staff (the man from Sri Lanka) was so kind, welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here for 4 nights and have a pleasant stay. Since I did not received my luggages from the airline and the hotel staffs help me to contact the airline twice a day (maybe three times a day!). Even in the end i still did not get my luggages but I'm very appreciate their kindness. I made a non-breakfast reservation but they give me for free *happyyy* or maybe because i stayed there for 4 nights. We chose this hotel as it was quite easy access from the airport via train and metro and quite central for the sites. We booked in at 11:00 as we'd had any early flight and wanted to leave our cases. Had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the road which was fine and there was no road noise unless we opened the windows the room was small but had a walk in shower which we had requested. The sink bowl was cracked but everything else was clean. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels etc. We didn't use the breakfast room as we went out for breakfast. Reception and bar lounge area was ok.

Hi everyone, I booked through Agoda, like every single time I travel... 1) Even if you have payed fully , you explained you won't buy anything in the hotel, they ask your credit card... god knows for what.. 2) hotel consider himself modern... not at all. 3) external company that comes and clean/take care of flowers ... whoever did pass by my room, left the window open, smoke in the room... ( DND sign at my door ). 4) A tax for 2 Euros ish per night per person is asked... when you check out... but again... no way to know about it... even on agoda ... just double checked. 5) The garbage outside the hotel is non stop.. please keep in mind that it is not the best area in town. The positive point is the location and reception staff. Cadet metro next door , mcdo , Starbucks , bakery ... honestly for the same price... check around ! Staff at reception is attentive and receptive . Speaks a good English.

I stayed here with my mom for 3 nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful they even help us to send our package to La Poste ( we are sending a gift for a friend in other city ). Room is clean. Metro Le Peletier is just a few walks away, surroundes by many restaurant, cafe, and there's a convenient store just right around the corner. Will stay here again if I visit Paris

"Good location"

Marsha S, Deming, Washington 26/10/2016

My husband and I stayed here for the first two nights of a group tour of the Loire Valley. There were very good restaurants, and a Metro station within walking distance. The rooms, as one expects in Paris, are very small, but these were very comfortable. Ours had a small balcony overlooking the street, but with the doors closed and the blackout drapes pulled it was quiet and dark. We also like to sleep in a cool room and that was harder. The air conditioning didn't really cool and, as we found all over France, duvets are too warm. The breakfast room is in the basement, and the food selection was standard and good; scrambled eggs, Canadian style bacon, toast, cereal, yogurt etc. The decor is somewhat British, which may not be to everyones taste when visiting France, but a pleasant staff and comfortable surroundings made for a nice stay.

"Good space for a trip to Paris"

4
User 26/10/2016

Not a bad hotel for a short stay in Paris - probably the best Best Western Ive stayed in tbh. The good: - Rooms were clean and well presented - albeit a little small (pretty standard for Paris I guess). - Breakfast was basic but enough to get you going for the day. - Location pretty good - about a 5-10 minute walk to the main shopping area around Opera - Loved the balcony off our room - we could even see the top of the Eiffel Tower Could be better: - if youre not going to provide international plug points anywhere in the room then keep some adapters around for customers. Having to purchase one across the road for 15 euro - The lifts broke down about 3 times during our short stay - not a biggie for us as we didn't mind the walk up the stairs but some of your older customers really struggled

Check-in must be latest at 14:00 not 15:00. Main elevator was out of service for three days.Should have been repaired in one day. Staff were friendly and nice. Place was excellent and very close to almost every single point by walking.

User 24/10/2016

This is a cute, trendy hotel located in the 9th Arr., 3 miles or less from Gare du Nord. It is close to two Metro stations, tons of restaurants, night life ANYTHING else you may need! Amazing people watching. I was fortunate to have a room with a balcony (room 305) with incredible September weather. I tried to load photos of my view but my iPad is acting up. The room was clean and it looks exactly like the photos. The bathroom is small but very very clean. The lobby is clean and trendy. The lobby bar is small but it was a popular gathering place as was the terrace. Hotel staff was very friendly and they put up with my terrible French. The breakfast buffet is good as well, but get there early or closer to end as it gets crowded. The buffet attendants offer you a banana to go when you are leaving. That's a nice touch. I used the laundry and dry cleaning services and they were excellent and timely. Oh one thing! There is no iron & board in the rooms so request one when you check in. This actually ended up being a blessing as I ironed all my clothes really quickly and didn't have to iron again for the rest of my stay.

"Small but Decent"

Wildiris117, Saratoga Springs, Utah 11/10/2016

As with most reasonably priced hotels in the heart of Paris, the room was tiny. With barely room to walk around the bed, it was a cozy fit. But the room was clean (although it smelled very strongly of perfume) and included all necessary amenities. It's a short (less than 5 minute) walk from two metro stations, a 15 minute walk from Gare du Nord and walking distance to the Louvre (about 20-25 minutes). The neighborhood is rather busy, but that means there are plenty of restaurants and small markets nearby. The staff is very helpful and fluent in English. The hotel does have a single (small) elevator.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean and quiet, despite being on a busy street. The breakfast was more than adequate, especially the coffee, bread, cereal and fruit. But it was staff that made it a superior experience. They were never too busy to give suggestions, make dinner reservations, etc. We left something of value in the room when we departed. It was easy to communicate with them via email, and they found the item and promptly sent it to us. Some Americans might find the rooms small, but that is typical for Europe. We liked the location. Wander one or two streets off rue Lafayette and you will find charming cafes and families going about their normal activities. It is also close to shopping, like Galeries Lafayette. Treat yourself to a drink on top of this department store and see the top of the opera house and many landmarks.

"Great Location"

905tobym, Edmonton, Canada 11/10/2016

This was our first trip to Paris and we chose this hotel based on location and it was perfect. The hotel was very nice and just as per the pictures, it was a bit smaller than we are used to, but it was typical room size for Paris so we didn't think it was an issue. I would definitely stay here again if we ever came back to Paris.

"Superb Staff, excellent location"

5
ericsplastercast, Prestatyn, United Kingdom 03/10/2016

Staff couldn't be more pleasant or helpful. They spoke perfect English and humoured my schoolboy French. We arrived very early but were able to check in and be in our room almost 4 hours before official check in time..fantastic customer service. The room was lovely and clean with tv with just a couple of english speaking channels, a safe, free wifi, tea and coffee facilities and very limited toiletries ( maybe they thought I was travelling alone? ) The location is fine with 2 Metro stations within 100 metres of the front door.

Stayed overnight for football trip, staff were welcoming and friendly. As rooms weren't ready they pointed us in the direction of a decent restaurant for lunch Rooms were small but clean and did what was required. Shower/bath area very small but not a major issue

"Great location, good services, room needs improvement"

4
798kennyl, Toronto, Canada 26/09/2016

All in all a very good hotel. The location was great as it was walkable from the Nord train station and right next to the Metro. Front desk agents spoke very good English. The room, although very clean and well-maintained, needs some improvement that should be easily fixable. The A/C in the room was dripping water. We had to put a towel on the floor to dampen the dripping noise. Also the shower was poorly designed that the floor will get all wet as there was no door or curtain, just half a glass window between the shower and the floor. I also found the pillow arrangements to be inconvenient, especially the big round pillow put against the headboard that takes away 1/3 of the bed's length. It was a bit of an inconvenience having to move it aside every night since that pillow is so bulky. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel.

I find it to be very great value for money. All the rooms are very new and clean. Staff is very nice and professional. The only criticism I have is that the bath tub was dirty when I arrived. But other than that I always use this hotel when I need to :)

"Excellent 4-Star Hotel in the 9th District"

4
oli-business, USA/Canada 02/09/2016

This hotel is an excellent choice to stay in the middle of the action in the 9th district. altough it's located on a very busy street, the hotel is very quiet! Newly renovated (with a theme) and very clean, this hotel was one of the best I've stayed in Paris. After a red-eye flight, I was nicely accomodated with an early check-in (thank you). The room was large and very well appointed. One comment: one of the two chairs in the room disappeard in the middle of the week... I have no idea why! The included breakfast buffet was also one of the best in a Parisian hotel, cold and hot, with eggs, bacon, sausage and baked beans! Even REAL maple syrup from Canada! Even if I very much liked my entire stay, I have three comments. 1) the AC is very minimal as mine was set at 19 celcius the whole week and it was never enough (yes it was very hot in Paris). 2) the toilet paper in my room was like sand paper... 3) when I reserve a double-bed, I appreciate having a double bed, not two single beds stuck together (yes, I know this is a standard in Europe, but still). I would surely stay there again.

"Awesome place, worth the money"

5
VijaySoundararajan, Bangalore, India 27/08/2016

I booked this hotel via bookings.com and got a fair deal of EURO 287 for 3 nights (Without breakfast). The place is centrally located, 100m walk to nearest METRO station (Le Peletier). The receptionist speak english, help you out with routes to main touristic attractions. Rooms are clean and hygienic, albeit small. I got a street view and the view from Balcony was amazing. Housekeeping do a good job. I havent had breakfast at the hotel as they are lot of good restaurants outside. You can get the best crepes, breakfast/brunch, pubs/bars/cafe nearby. If you want airport pick up/drop, please call/email the hotel authorities and they will book one for you. It is about 60-70 euros or lesser if they book. If you take a taxi from airport, they might trick you by saying 80-90 euros.

"Comfortable room and good service"

4
Meng Yang N, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 27/08/2016

Had a comfortable bed and good reception service at this hotel. Air conditioning here definitely was welcome with the summer heat. Didn't try the breakfast as I would rather enjoy the nearby patisseries. Location is convenient and a mere 5 min walk to the nearby Le Peletier station, as well as a 10-15 minute walk to Galerie Lafayette.

"Great stay !!"

4
Travelsmart69, Sydney, Canada 26/08/2016

Centrally located, very convenient for planning your sight seeing as it is a stones throw from the metro stations and bus stops. 5 minutes walk from Gallerie La Fayette. The rooms are clean and have all Amenities. The access to rooms is secure ( keyed access to elevator), which is a huge feature. Excellent housekeeping services. The rooms are small but you are in Paris and if you are coming to Paris to stay in a hotel room for most of your visit then book elsewhere. Breakfast has variety - hot and cold items to choose from. Great service at breakfast . The front desk staff is excellent. We have to compliment Cathrine for her excellent customer service. She is very pleasant and helpful. She always smiles and gets whatever you need. Our baggage was delayed by 3 days - the hotel did not have toothbrush or toothpaste. They also ran out of band aides. But other than this, our stay was very comfortable.

I stayed here in a family room fitted out for 3 sleeping (my 2 sons & me). All the beds were comfortable and the room size was more than adequate. The location is brilliant for the visitor with easy walks to many key locations and the Metro about 1 minute walk away. The reception staff were extremely helpful, rooms & public areas were clean and the price very reasonable.

"Short family break to Paris"

5
TaketheCakeLtd, Greater London, United Kingdom 08/08/2016

We had a great four day break to Paris staying at the Premier Opera Faubourg. When I made the booking I wasn't really sure how good the location would be but we all agreed it was fantastically placed to see all of the sights of Paris. As we were travelling with older teenagers we were able walk to Sacre Coeur and Montmartre past the Moulin Rouge and onto the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower before heading back to the hotel. The hotel is also very close to a couple of Metro stops which we used the following day to visit the Musee d'Orsay. There is a very convenient Carrefour City just around the corner from the hotel and Gare du Nord was a 15min walk away when we needed to get back to CDG airport to catch our flight home. All in all - a very good hotel.

Very tiny rooms and tiny bathrooms. Very clean. The location was ok but it was nice being close to the Metro. Breakfast wasn't the best -- smallish dining room -- always running out of items. But it did offer the basics. Loved the Cafe across the street to the right -- excellent food!

"Junior suite: always a good choice!"

4
Juliette G, Vienna, Austria 27/07/2016

Room: I stayed in the junior suite many times, with my father and brother as the room can accommodate three persons (1 big bed + 1 sofa bed), and we all like this room. It is spacious and the design is very nice. The bathroom amenities are very well chosen (Nuxe), that's always nice in hotels rather than an old fashioned soap that dries your skin out! Breakfast: The breakfast area is not very big, but the choices are very tasty. There are both sweet and salty choices. The pastries are very good! ;) Location: The hotel is in a very nice area of Paris, with many restaurants and bars nearby. There is a metro stop five minutes away from the hotel by foot (line 7, Le Peletier), which is good. The hotel staff is nice.

"A Surprise Visit "

Travelinman2015, Bullard, Texas 23/07/2016

We were trying to get from London to Omaha Beach, when there was yet another French Rail strike, so our journey came to a halt in Paris for 24 hours. I did a search on a travel site and we wound up here. We loved this hotel. It's within walking distance to several nice restaurants. The staff was wonderful. The rooms have a very modern look to them with comfortable beds and nice showers. I would gladly stay here for a longer time.

"Average"

3
jgriff0725, Paris, France 15/07/2016

Some kind of hammering noise in the afternoon took away our nap. (I know, life is rough.) And the coffee machine in our room didn't work. When we called the guy at the desk said he was the only one working (it was nighttime) and he couldn't bring us a new one. For a four start hotel, it's an average place. The concierge that came up to the room was really nice, however.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the World but Opera Faubourg was one of the best 4 star hotels in Paris because of its location which is 15 minutes by walk from Gare de Nord Station, the warm welcome, the english speaking staff, the comfortable mattresses and a cosy room with a beautiful view. We were very grateful to be Upgraded to a deluxe room due to our wedding anniversary and also had fresh macroons for us in our room!! We did not try the food or breakfast at the hotel as we were hardly at the hotel but I am sure it would have been good! Guys Stay at Best Western Prenier Opera Faubourg and you will not be disappointed! I am definitely staying here when `i visit again!! Thank you Best Western and until next time! Bye Z K

User 23/06/2016

I stayed here for one night and the hotel is in a great location and really close to some great restaurants. The room was lovely, very clean and had everything you need, stocked fridge, kettle, hairdryer etc. also has English TV channels... Great value and I had a balcony with street view and couldn't hear any street noise. Really comfortable king size plus bed. Highly recommended and have stayed in other very good Best Westerns in Paris. The rooms are small but all rooms in Paris are small unless you book a chain or 5 star plus. Perfect for a weekend break. Comfortable, clean well-located hotel with many dining and metro options nearby. The staff were always friendly from check-in to leaving my suitcase after check out. The room was on the small side but all amenities functioned well (TV, instant hot water, bar fridge) though the design of the shower stall was prone to leaking. My room had balcony access which was a nice option for checking out the street below. Overall a pleasant stay.

"Extremely cute in a very safe funky location"

5
BettertoBurnOutthan, Victoria, British Columbia 15/06/2016

We threw a dark at the map of Paris and landed at this hotel with zero research and less of an expectation. This is a British themed boutique hotel that is very cute. The staff was as good as we have ever had, the room was very clean and kept that way by them every day. We expected only a double bed and we were given an extremely comfortable queen. The opera district turned out to be perhaps the area to stay, feet to a metro and in the center of great shopping, food and very interesting walking. We will go back in a blink.

"Poor Customer Service despite Good Location"

3
Jensen_177, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 02/06/2016

We experienced poor customer service when the bar refill guy just knocked on our door ONCE before he swiped and entered into our room while we are changing. As a reputable 4-starred hotel, Best Western should knock on guest door for at least 3 times before entering into the room. It is a very rude and scary way of doing their business especially for single female traveller.

"Definitely NOT 4 Star"

3
Carols01, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 30/05/2016

Thankfully I had my room changed or this review wouldn't be as nice. Upon arrival I found the safe in my room was not functional and called down to reception. I was informed it didn't work, period. Then I noticed the clock was also not functional so I called down again and they said someone would be there to fix it tomorrow. I politely asked for a room with a working safe and clock tonight! They found me one on the 4th floor and I was moved there. The room was much larger and nicer and I settled in for my 4 night stay. The hotel is located far from the city center but the metro was easy enough to reach and without a transfer one could get to the Louvre. I did a lot of walking from there. The staff at this hotel is very nice and helpful, thanks to all of you. The breakfast was merely okay, certainly nothing to get excited about. The area was quiet and I got a decent nights sleep every night. The coffee/tea kettle was a nice touch, but this is no 4 star hotel. A Nice 3* though.

4
RockyPt, Klamath Falls Or 24/05/2016

The hotel is listed as 4 star, but our group thought it's more 3 star. Kind of cute with its British theme with bowler hats, plaids, bulldogs, and army blanket-like wool drapes. Very noisy street, the A/C wouldn't work, lights out on our clock so couldn't tell the time, one person's shower leaked, another's A/C blew up and leaked, the carpet throughout the reception area was dangerously wrinkled, and the desk staff tried very hard to push 1 particular restaurant for dinner (complete with a card stamped by the hotel to present at the restaurant). That was enough reason not to eat there.

I was here on business, not spending long in the hotel, but very good for an overnight stay. Clean, comfortable and convenient to where I wanted to be. Selected this particular hotel due to exceptional rate on booking.com; thus I was a bit worried it might not be the best - sometimes you get what you pay for - but far from it. I wasn't disappointed.

Nice and comfortable hotel. The rooms are clean and cozy. Great location, near the La Fayette, metro and fabulous restaurants. Nice Lobby, colorful with modern interiors.I enjoyed our 3 nights stay in this hotel. The staff are also friendly and nice. I will definitely come back.

Good check in experience after a 15 minute walk from La Gare du Nord.Nice Lobby with New York Times Euro edition and a small bar and sidewalk tables on Rue Lafayette.Elevator small but it works,Wi-Fi was good, even though English TV was promoted it was not available. My room was small but clean, even on the sixth floor there was street noise but hey it's Paris.Express store one minute away with wine, beer, cheese, fresh fruit, sandwiches and snacks....very reasonable.Forty minute walk to La Seine, restaurant across the street "La Generale Lafayette"serves a decent lunch or dinner at a decent price.I'd stay again.

Hotel is in a great location!! 2 Metro Stations with in 200 Meters of the hotel door, Moulin Rouge about 1 KM walk, Paris Opera and Galleries Lafayette. It took us 15 Minutes to walk to the Louver as well. Rooms are on the Smaller side, but it is an Europe. Loads of Cafés and places to grab a drink. Bonus was the Carrefour just around the corner to pick up wine , Water and Chocolate!!! Our Room had a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower in the distance which was a bonus especially at night with it light up. Good Value Hotel

"A Gracios and Comfortable Hotel"

TraveljohnsonJ, New York City, New York 09/05/2016

Considering I made a last minute decision on what hotel to stay at while visiting Paris, I could not have been more pleased with my three night stay in Paris at the Opera Faubourg Hotel. I opted to try public transit as a way to get to this hotel from Orly Airport and it was fairly simple, take the tram to the subway and then get off at Le Peletier and walk straight ahead about one block. The only disappointment I had was lack of noticeable signage and where the hotel entrance was. Just so you might know...the hotel entrance is almost made obscure by the adjacent pizza shop with its flashing LED signs; but, the flashing LED did make it easy to spot the hotel once I became accustomed. The reception desk is extremely pleasant, courteous and helpful. There was always someone on duty to be of assistance and offer advice. This is an older hotel that has had a remake in a somewhat avant-garde, if not funky, interior makeover. I requested a quiet room as I now Parisian streets can be noisy at times and I was placed on an inside room, overlooking a skylight onto the lobby, that proved exceedingly private and quiet. The bathroom was a pleasure following two weeks of travel in Scandinavia where their design cultural propensity is to have showers the size of telephone booths This room had a large glass enclosed shower as well as a long and deep soaking tub. Lighting was excellent and the bathroom amenity selection was generous. The only fault I found with the bathroom is a lack of any form of handle on the wall to assist in getting out of the deep and slippery soaking tub. I was afraid the housekeeper would come into the room in the morning and discover me sleeping in the tub...but, I finally managed to get out after some effort. The guest room was extremely comfortable, the wi-fi worked well and there was generous programing on the flat screen TV. This hotel provided the most comfortable bed on my entire European adventure and the bed linens are of excellent quality and felt great when you climbed into bed. After being on the road visiting throughout Scandinavia this hotel was a welcomed treat and I would not hesitate returning at a future date. The big surprise is this hotel is a member of Best Western and though a premier, unfortunately I don't believe a lot of Americans will grasp the 'premier' designation and how more upscale Hotel Faubourg Opera is compared to their grandparents roadside Best Western in the USA. Congratulations of a very nice hotel!

Nice Location, easy access to all the attraction plus the station. Cozy little rooms with balconies. We had a issue in the shower of water not draining properly, but once we notified the reception, it was resolved. So overall a good stay. Reception staff could be a bit more knowledgeable about the city.

After 2 (two) months of planning and searching the most suitable hotel for our trip to Paris, Best Western Premier Opera, didn't let us down. Personnel was very helpful and understanding. Because we stayed long (9 days) they upgrade our room for free. Only two small comments, the lighting in the room was poor (romantic but poor) and the ventilation of the room weak. For the rest, recommenced !!!!!

CharlotteElizabeth3, Manchester, United Kingdom 10/04/2016

We stayed for 2 nights. We arrived at 10am to drop off our bags and we were told there was a room ready which was great. The room was lovely, very clean and stylish. We had room service the first night as we had an extremely early flight and a full day sightseeing. The room service was good and well priced. Breakfast was good too, more continental options than a hot breakfast, but ok. The staff were very helpful, we checked out early morning and arranged us a taxi to the airport. The hotel location was good, very close to a metro station which is a great way to get around. It was well within walking distance to all sightseeing areas.

The standard room was smaller than in pictures, but clean and with some funny details (lips on the wall). Lobby British style...Great location, 20 minutes walk for Louvre and Tuileries garden. Expensive breakfast

"Nice stay for a Paris Weekend"

3
MattCrowley, Redhill, United Kingdom 03/04/2016

The room (beds) itself was comfortable, even if the room was a little small - we were upgraded at no extra charge to a larger double room...plenty of choice at breakfast and the location of the hotel was great. The whole point of booking this hotel was that we were travelling by car - and I requested this hotel as it advertised of having a car park....and it hasn't!....so apart from having to trek about 500m with luggage - you'll be hit with a 32€ a day parking fee additionally...plus the room was VERY small.....probably OK for a weekend but not much longer than that. The hotel was also quite noisy, possible Metro trains passing underneath.

"Finally a nice bedroom"

It's a pleasant hotel with a dedicated staff. Even if I had issues obtaining a room without ventilation issues, the room 107 where i slept was perfect! For a shopping therapy in famous Parisian general stores(galleries Lafayettes) this hotel is a convenient choice.

The room was a little bit noisy (metro can be heard), but nice. Tiny and not too clean bathroom. Frendly, helpful staff. The breakfast is the same every day, but tasty. What we liked: easy connecting and speed wifi everywhere in the hotel. We would give 10/6.

"Small room for two, central enough to get to the shops, and metro is just a few steps away"

happycafeholic, US 26/02/2016

Cordial staff; they didnt mind giving us directions to places, recommending cafes, and getting taxi rides for us. We got a corner room and was quite small even for a boutique, I think. Literally, there was hardly a space to walk on esp that my friend and I each had a mid-sized luggage and a carry on, though the bathroom was interestingly spacious. Not quite sure but the train is quite nearby (or beneath the edifice, perhaps?) that youd feel a little tiny shake whenever one would pass by, though nothing close to being scary. You can prolly request for a bigger room when youre checking in. It's a good and rather safe neighborhood even when youre coming back late from a night out (two Asian ladies travelling here), and/or a show (Moulin Rouge for us). Bed was big and comfy enough youd fall asleep in no time after hours upon hours of strolling. We stayed here for three nights. Breakfast buffet was basic but adequate. Will stay here again, and recommend too!

If you wan't value for your money choose this hotel! The staff is absolutly wonderfull, I was traveling alone on a buisnnes trip and the staff working in the evenings helped me with things to see and places to go in the afternoon. Breakfeast are not big but have absolutly everything a GOOD breakfeast should have and the staff working there are superb to. My room (212) had a small balcony right on la fayette, but hade no problems with noise in the evenings/nights. Bed comfy as well! I have absolutly nothing more than positive things to say :)

FrancescaMurphy0, Dublin, Ireland 12/02/2016

Ah this hotel is fabulous! Upon arrival there was a mix up with the rooms, we had requested a second floor suite via email as someone we were travelling with felt uncomfortable being in a room on a high floor. They were unable to find the email for quite some time but eventually found it. We had to spend one night on the sixth floor but were swiftly moved to the second floor on our second day. We were also offered complimentary drinks which was a kind gesture. The suite was in a separate hallway to the standard rooms and our room was facing the side of the hotel. This meant that it was incredibly quiet which was great because the main road can be quite busy. Unfortunately we had no balcony which was disappointing. The room itself was a little 'faulty towers', our air conditioning wouldn't turn off at one point and a few plug points weren't working, however the staff were incredible, they were so helpful and kind. The breakfast was also lovely there was definitely something on offer for everyone. The location of this hotel is incredible. I was on holiday with keen walkers so we were able to walk to everything and didn't need the metro once. We were able to walk to The Eiffel Tower in 30 minutes and Sacre Coeur in 25 minutes. There were great restaurants near the hotel also. It's really easy to get from the airport to the hotel. We took the train from the airport to Gare Du Nord, and a bus went straight from there to about 5 minutes away from the hotel which was fantastic! The hotel was spotless and had some funky decor. We had a great holiday here and I would stay here again if I returned to Paris without a doubt.

"GREAT PLACE"

bberkson, San Francisco, California 06/02/2016

I came to this hotel on a blind eye, and little did I know it was truly a gem. The rooms are well sized, the decor is modern paris and the location is superb. One thing that stood out was the high caliber of hospitality the staff played. One of the front desk associates by the name of Antoine deeply cared for all my room requests, and above all gave me the best recommendations for places to eat and drink in the city. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to my peers.

The location is very convenient by walking distance to get to La Fayette and the Opera area for shopping and theaters. There are also nice restaurants nearby, some Chinese too. You can also take the Metro to Champsélysées just a few stops away. The Buffett breakfast is the most best in the region.

"Very nice boutique like hotel"

siminnyc, New York 13/01/2016

I spent my first two nights in Paris at the Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg early January. The hotel is within short distance to the metro stop at Cadet, which makes it very easy to get around. The staff at the front desk are very helpful, I having needed their help to call taxis twice. Check in and check out were fast and efficient. I didn't take the breakfast, since I couldn't eat that much for breakfast to justify the 18 euros. The hotel is a odd Mod British theme, which is very cute. I am not sure what the reasoning behind it though. The room is very nice but small (that's typical of Paris). I had a queen size bed that was really comfortable with many pillows! Everything was clean and worked well, except the hot water faucet didn't really turn. The toiletries were really good quality also. However the major problem with the hotel is, that the wall/door is extremely thin. Right next to me were kids and they were running back and forth in the hallway, while I was trying to get an early sleep (around 11:00), because I had to take an early train. It might be a problem because of the layout of the building. Aside from that, I would recommend this hotel.

We really loved it there. This is a clean and relatively modern (compared to other Parisian hotels) hotel. The concierge service was excellent, they hooked us up to a restaurant on Christmas Eve on that very day, where we paid 65 bucks per person for a six-course dinner with everything (alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, etc.) included. Amazing work.

Alasdair186, Aberdeen, United Kingdom 12/01/2016

We stayed here for my girlfriend's 21st. Having booked through EasyJet we got a fantastic deal. But I believe this is where the problems began. When we arrived having had a fairly long wait for the bus at the airport we were greated by a friendly member of staff, I handed over my debit card and once he'd come back from the office was informed that he wanted to take 30€ per night (120€ for our stay) to cover "mini bar and room service". I had expected some incidental block to be put on my card but half as much as the booking for 4 days seemed excessive (it seems they think 4,50€ for a bottle of water is fair. This is not advertised anywhere in the booking, so was a bit of a shock. This was followed by us being woken before noon by the cleaners barging in without a knock (we arrived just before midnight). All these things could have been resolved by one, being clearer about the check-in costs, and two, communication between the staff and bookings (I had to replace my key card on the second day because they thought we were only staying one night). The hotel is a solid 3 star, and would have been rated higher had they kept to a standard which is almost universally expected (talk between departments). P.S. it's right next to the metro and a short walk from many great attractions.

stayed here for three nights from Christmas day. very welcoming staff and a quirky room. We had booked a one bedroom suite. very comfortable bed... very large and a very good bathroom.....two sinks, shower, toilet and very deep bath. two tvs, one in lounge area and a well stocked mini bar. stayed on room only and didn't have a drink in the bar. British bulldog figurines abound as does a british telephone box.

Nice tiny hotel in Paris, good position , very close to la fayette mall end metro stops ( Pink line ). Room was small but comfortable , clean with a big bathroom ( in comparison whit franch standard). moquette on the floor . Not too cheap but right prices, We didn't get breakfast, too expansive during booking procedures

"Good location"

Mauro N, Americana 18/12/2015

We went to Paris without reservation, and thanks for Patrick, the Hotel manager, he found available rooms and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a good location, near the Grands Magazins and the Opera Garnier. The rooms are on the average size and the breakfast is good. The price is very welcoming, making a good choice.

"Stylish, charming, central"

EgorParienko, Kiev, Ukraine 15/12/2015

This hotel's design features a lot of small design elements, which give it a boutique feel: 1/ the walls in my room were covered with a soft material, which I discovered by accident, but what gave an otherwise typically small Parisian room a special feel 2/ the lamps in my room were made into hats that Charlie Chaplin would wear 3/ the hallway was elegantly designed and the fact that it wasn't straight made it cooler 4/ when you come to have breakfast, they ask you to sign your name and room number on a piece of paper, which is already there, but instead of a pen you get a pencil The wifi connection here is fast and unlimited. The breakfast offers good quality food, but the selection is quite limited (no fish, for example). The staff is very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth coming back to.

"Awful hotel"

Omar B, Casablanca, Morocco 10/12/2015

I have never seen a service as much as awful as this hotel. Once here , We was given a very small room in a strange angle in the hotel. Then , and in the middle of the night, we were asked to pay all the stay before they can give us any service (like a baby bed that we asked for), in the moment I'm writing this, The receptionist told me, his following orders, I took a picture of baby bad.

"Beautiful hotel in beautiful city"

Emmaemm306, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom 14/11/2015

It comes with great sadness that I write this review when Paris has been attacked and the city stands in mourning. It came to my attention that I had not reviewed my hotel from my stay with my partner back in September 2015. It reminded me how this city is my favourite in the world and I keep returning because of the culture and its people. When we got to the hotel we were upgraded to a gorgeous room with a balcony looking over Paris, I love the architecture and the mood of the city and found the room amazing, modern and cosy to my liking. It came with a safe, hairdryer, amazing bathroom and bed. We were not disturbed by sounds of traffic or noise. The hotel is in a good location a stone's throw away from the metro station Le Peletier which is a few stops away from the Louvre and other tourist spots. The hotel is also close to the Paris Opera house and in the opposite direction is Gare du Nord train station that lies its underground train RER B that takes you straight to Charles du Gaulle airport, you don't have to rely on taxi's to the airport, we did it this way and found it great value and very easy, we flew on a Sunday morning and there was plenty of trains to the airport early enough. Near the hotel lay a pub called King George's which I loved, homely food and drinks for a great value, me and my boyfriend are not the most adventurous with food so we liked it here and the Hard Rock Cafe was a ten minute walk also, so it suited our needs. We decided not to do the breakfast option at the hotel and often found a creperie around Paris for ours. The staff are wonderful at the hotel and even brought are drinks up to our room because we were lazy! Being northerners we thought this was wonderful. Wonderful accommodation for a wonderful trip in the most amazing city in the world, trendy and romantic. Merci beaucoup!

"An Amusing Attempt at Being British"

5
User 07/11/2015

This boutique hotel attempt to emulate all things British is a bit cheesy at first glance. However, the staff and rooms (just ignore the mounted bowler hats) are very pleasant. My friend and I arrived on the first night to discover that the hotel rooms were overbooked. But Adel the night duty manager, was very helpful and resolved the issue professionally and to everyone's satisfaction. After a short call, we were booked into another hotel in their franchise chain (which was an upgrade), a cab was called to take us there and the fare paid for. We were promised that when we returned the next morning (cab fare paid for), we would have an upgraded room ready for us, and complimentary breakfasts thrown in. True to Adel's word, we had a super room ready and waiting for us, and the staff were sure to tend to our every need. The breakfast was in a strange 'British' themed dining room. But the food was superb. There was gluten free bread available for me, and lots of items to eat with it. The hotel is situated on the famous Rue Lafayette, and a mere 10 minute walk into the shopping centre of the city. The staff are informed and able to recommend great places to eat lunch and dinner, when you mention the hotel, you receive a free drink and possibly a small discount too. A great little franchise with very helpful professional and friendly staff.

"Long weekend in Paris"

runcornarnie, Runcorn, United Kingdom 05/11/2015

Spent hours searching Trip Advisor for a hotel with a great location and capable of accommodating 2 adults & an 8 year old at a reasonable price - my searches kept bringing me back to the Best Western Premier Opera Faubourg and I have to say I was very impressed! All the staff were excellent; they couldn't have been more friendly and we were always made to feel welcome and greeted with a smile. We booked a suite (room 600) and it had a great bed and lovely big bathroom - decent size sofa bed too - I can't comment on the other bedrooms but I couldn't find fault with the one we had. We had breakfast in the hotel every day and again couldn't fault it - nice mix of fresh baguettes, rolls & pastries, salami, ham, cheese, yoghurts etc - if you're looking for a "traditional English" then this probably won't float your boat but come on, you're in Paris so go for the croissants & pain au chocolat! The decor is quirky to say the least but for me this all added to the charm of our stay - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

Excellent location in the Opera area, I have never been to Paris before so was unsure where to stay, found this hotel via ebookers, very reasonable, great service, very helpful staff, really close to the metro, rooms were small but well presented and equipped, would recommend this hotel anytime to someone looking for a short break in Paris.

"week-end away"

cityseer84, London, United Kingdom 24/10/2015

we decided on this hotel because of its price and location. Overall the experience was good, the rooms as over guests have stated are small but most in Paris are similar. The room was kept clean and tidy which to us is very important. We did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on its value. We had several friends staying with us and they were of the same mind on the hotel and that the beds were comfortable. There is only one thing that we found annoying and that is the usual noise factor, mostly it was quiet, but for some reason I was woken twice on one night and once the next with a loud vibrating set of 6 bangs, as if someone was banging a large hammer onto a concrete floor. Our friends were aslo disturbed on saturday night by a group of idiot guests slamming doors, shouting and running around the corridors between 4 and 5 in the morning. When our friends complained the next morning the receptionist at them time gave a sad response, it was saturday night what do you expect. I do not think this is an adequate reply for such an issue so if you want a sure quiet night I would bear this in mind.

Love the rooms. Super tiny but that's what's to expect from Paris. Love the art and the details they out in there details. Nice staff! Helpful and friendly! A little minus is the basement breakfast and no refill on the tea. I would definitely go back!

"Bed Bug Problem"

1
XBerg C, Dennis, Massachusetts 14/10/2015

Do not stay at this hotel! On September 15, 2015 I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group and was attacked by bed bugs. On getting up in the morning and going into the bathroom, I noticed a brown bug fell off my nightgown onto the floor. Later, in the morning, on returning to the room, we were locked out; a new room was assigned and our suitcases were moved. We were given no explanation. Soon after I began experiencing several “bites” which I found out later were trademark bedbug bites. I still have red marks a month later. The hotel has not acknowledged the problem after repeated attempts to the tour operator.

"Confortable Room but service and breakfast are poor"

2
User 07/10/2015

Hotel very well located in the heart of Paris. Rooms are comfortable with a British touch. Sound proofing is correct even for rooms on the Rue Lafayette. Unfortunately, the waiting time at check in and check out is very long because the staff spends time arranging taxis for guests and the breakfast room in the basement has no outside light and it is not the best start of the day. Will no go back there.

Stayed here for business only because of it's competitive rate and proximity to the office but will not return. The hotel is in serious need of a facelift; the room was tired and worn, the bathroom dark, and the hallways musty. I actually asked to see another room, thinking mine was a bad egg, but the others were no better. Will not return.

"Great hotel in Paris"

5
Heyb7, Knoxville, Tennessee 02/09/2015

When I booked this hotel I had no clue what I had gotten or much about its location in Paris. Come to find out this was an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff was great and super helpful. The location was great as it gave us access to all kinds of wonderful things in Paris. It was also great that there was a metro entrance very close by. Our favorite part was the cleanliness of the place and the views from our window/patio where we could see the Eiffel Tower. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to return!

The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and bright. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There were numerous choices all delicious and tasty. The professional assistance at the front reception made our stay pleasant. We would like thank all the staff at the hotel, and a special thank you to Patrick, the Butler. His helpfulness and knowledge gave us a genuine experience of Paris. We enjoyed the classical concert, a breathtaking dinner cruise down the Seine and the magnificent gardens of Claude Monet. Also the helpful suggestions in getting around and our visit to majestic Montmartre. Thanks once again and we will be back and stay at this hotel.

Staff was excellent, location was close to opera and louvre, a bit of a hike to eiffle tower. Staff was excellent at providing information and assistance. Map of paris was a bit too detailed and made it hard to use, perhaps a map with less detail (major intersections) would be better.

"Ideal boutique hotel in Paris!"

5
lacigale13, Miami, Florida 27/07/2015

I have been to Paris many times since I was a child to visit friends & family as well as for business. This time, I was there for a couple of days with my daughter on our way home to the US and all I wanted was to stroll around this magnificent city and take it all in, no pressure to see anything or anyone. The 9th arrondissement is my favorite district (I have childhood memories of when I used to visit my aunt who lived next to Notre Dame de Lorette church), so I booked 2 nights at The Best Western Opera Faubourg and it was everything I was hoping for and more!! Amazing neighborhood, REAL PARIS, close to the Opera Garnier, the big Dpt stores but also close to the Louvre, le Marais, Montmattre. Great cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel recommended Au Petit Riche: what an experience for our last dinner in Paris!! If you want to eat delicious French food and dine in an atmosphere reminiscent of the movie Midnight in Paris, Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet signing in the background and outstanding service: this is it!! I loved the hotel's whimsical decoration. Our room was small but practical and cosy, very quaint, beautiful bathroom. I especially requested a room on the street because I love the view of the Parisian boulevards but you can request a room overlooking the inside courtyard. The service was excellent and courteous. I was about to make a reservation for a taxi to take a very early flight at CDG when the hotel employee recommended their partner shuttle service. I was so pleasantly surprised. A chauffeur with a black mini-van picked us up at 6AM. We picked up another couple at another location and we were at the airport in no time for a fraction of the cost of a taxi!! These 2 days were a Parisian dream. I have found MY hotel in Paris!
