"Comfortable, clean and close to arc de triomphe"
We had a pleasant 20 day stay at the hotel, and were pleased with the size, bed comfort, location and amenities offered. The room cleaning however could do with a bit more checking after it's done. Note that on informing they tended to this and it wasn't a big problem thereafter. If you're looking for a happy, safe, clean and comfortable living, go ahead and book.

"Our visit Dec2022"
That hotel has really kind and respectful staff. The best thing I should say about it is that it is located in a suitable place, some restaurants, and shops close to it and the metro station was really close to it. The breakfast was of excellent quality. It was quiet and very suitable for rest and sleep.

BW Mercedes is a true heaven in the hectic Paris. Welcoming and friendly personnel, clean, quiet, spacious and extremely well located. Everything in order, in a quiet location, very close to subways and buses, in a walking distance from Arc du Thriomphe and surrounded by a park, many restaurants, small markets, and shops!

"High Quality near the Champs-Élysées"
Clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms with air conditioning just a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe. Delightful café options all around with a bakery just across the street. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would defiantly return next trip to Paris. Two nearby museums are a bonus.

"Nice hotel, good value ."
we booked 2 rooms for a night , for 4 people. Overall , this hotel is a good value for the money. 15 minutes walk for the arc de triomphe, and also near the Wagram metro . did not get to try the breakfast since we had an early flight the next day. Rooms were clean and looked renovated. Lift is small but thats common in many Paris hotels and apartment buildings. Would definitely stay here again.

Hello and thank you for your message which encourages us to continue to offer the best possible customer experience. Plenty of space in the room. Great location and reception at your servicd. Good showering room with everything you need. During my stay, the sounds from the exterior can be heared (if you have a room on the street side). great interior and entrance.

We stayed for 2 nights and were very well supported by staff on the front desk, booking taxis for us and explaining the reasons behind the strike which shut down the metro and bus service. The room was very comfortable although the shower was a little small.

"Small Hotel nice staff"
Tiny hotel, felt the website oversold the place and personally would have chosen a different place. Lift is tiny and unpredictable to take it if you dare. With the General Strike the location was a nightmare lots of walking, otherwise a good location, if you can use the metro. Rooms tiny and you can hear your neighbours as if they are in the same room more like a student residence, living on top of each other. You can hear everything (Even a warning in the lift about the sounds your produce) Was cold without double glazing and cushions on the bed left brown fluff everywhere. Shower was hot then cold the scolding No free tea or coffee in the room either. TV all in French apart from BBC News, which isn't such an important point but if you like to wind down at the end of the day forget it. Staff brilliant english speaking and helpful. Breakfast ok but unless your up early you will miss out. Not a place I would associciate with the Best Western Brand and a lot better value for money available if you shop around.

Also, all our rooms provide a NESPRESSO coffee machine +tea + verbena + milk + sugar ( normal & light)! "Great location, good hotel with a hearty breakfast"
This is a small hotel near the Champs Elysees in the heart of Paris, its compact yet its location means there is a car park nearby and a metro station. Whilst it is set in the corner of two streets with a very small lift and steps to enter, it has a charm and the staff are clearly well motivated and pleasant. This may not be a large hotel with major facilities and staff, but it is an excellent place to stay to access the best of Paris. Its also good value for such an expensive city. But a little "off the beaten track" can be the best way and best value to get the best out of a great city. Ive stayed here a few times before ...and will again, as it "ticks the boxes" for me.

"More than what I was expecting!"
Had a wonderful time in Paris. Hotel was in a very good location. Walking distance to the Arc and Metro Stations. Bed was comfy. The only thing I would complain is that the room did had a smoke smell even if they did had no smoking signs. Person checking us in and out was amazing. He even managed to get us a room ready for an early check in without even asking for it.

"Good hotel with nice staff"
We choose this hotel for the first stop of our honeymoon to explore Paris. The public transport is very good as the metro line no. 3 is just around the corner. Our room was spaceous the bed was comfortable. It was a bit cold in the room at first and the heating system warmed it up quiet slow but after 1-2 days it was ok. Breakfast is nice with various sweets, hams, jams and chees to choose from. To sum up, I would recommend the hotel. Ps: we would like to thank Shiran for all the help he provided.

"A stylish hotel "
A Art Deco style hotel in a great location (safe, quiet and convenient to the metro). Central Paris around 15/20 minutes away. Bedroom was a little worn (with dark furnishings) but the bed more then made up for these deficiencies. One of the most comfortable I've slept on. Very limited English TV channels. Reception staff not the most attentive I've come across. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Coffee, etc, available in rooms.

"Best Western Hotel Mercedes Paris"
Very clean Room, Nice bathroom, very central myself and daughter walked most places. supermarket next door. The only thing I would advise anybody staying at this hotel, is once you have booked in, ask the receptionist to go with you to the room and list everything in the mini fridge/bar then get them to sign as proof for yourself as when you check out as they try to charge you for the mini bar out of the 50 Euro deposit you have to give at check in. I argued my case that I never touch the mini bar or the tea and coffees brought my own. I did eventually receive my money back.

"Worst hotel I've ever stayed in! I've stayed in 100s!"
If I could give a 0 I would. 3 of us staying here, 2 adults and a baby. They brought a travel cot up to the room which was broken... they told us we will have another but no sign after an hour. We went to reception and were told oh your 1 year old will have to sleep in your bed tonight as it's a safety risk to give you another cot... pathetic! They have 3 cots but refuse to give one... everything takes so long in this hotel. Check in was 1 hour, hotel is vile, smallest lift in the world so a pram won't go in and neither would a wheelchair. There's 10 steps to climb for the hotel no assistance with pram... door only one side is open.... manager don't like to speak to customers and walks off... coward. No way of being reasonable... hate the hotel, hate the service if I could give 0 star then I would! Vile people... don't stay here worst service ever! Absolutely fuming! Best western is good this is bad! Arc De Triomphe is a 20 min power walk from the hotel... WARNING TO ALL PEOPLE THINKING OF BOOKING .. DONT BOTHER

Dear Sir, We are very sorry to hear that you are still angry in spite of our discusson. You have booked around 6 PM through a website supplier, after few minutes you checked in, the Receptionnist informed you that she had not a reservation under your name, you become nervous and you could not accept this answer. The recepcionnist, recommended to you to check with the supplier you have booked with but you were very very angry so she asked you to provide your reservation references to assist you and then she sent an e-mail to your supplier inquiring about your reservation: the hotel cannot make a check in of a prepaid reservation online without the supplier confirmation we believe that you know that. The receptionnist invited you to have a rest in the lobby waiting for the supplier reply. after one hour, the supplier send the reservation to our hotel mentionning a CLASSIC room for 2 ADULTS only. you arrived with a BABY and asked for a cot, the receptionnist informed you that there is no cot available: to have a cot guests must inform the hotel previously to let our staff prepare it in the room before check in. At your check in time (6-7 PM) the receptionnist was alone and she doesn't know how to fixe the cot also because security reason, the receptionnist is not allowed to leave the reception to go into a room to fix a cot. As you were very angry and you ordered to the receptionnist to call Best Western the hotel manager, the receptionnist was so terrified that she tried to help with a cot but she couldn't fix it and you thought that the cot was broken. You have booked a classic room and as mentioned on the site you have booked on: CLASSIC room cannot receive a coouple with a baby that's why you have not mentioned the baby on the reservation! In spite of that, the receptionnist offered you a free upgrade for a DELUXE room with KING SIZE bed instead of a the CLASSIC room wit QUEEN SIZE bed you have booked. According to the above explanation, you see that you reproch to our hotel to have waited one hour to check in: is it our fault if the hotel has not received your reservation from your supplier? You reproach to our hotel to have not provided a cot: on your confirmation is mentioned that to have a cot or other sevices, the hotel must be advised before check in. When you have complained to the management staff, we asked you: "Do you know what you have booked? you said "No"! Please, to avoid this kind of trouble, would read the hotels sale conditions and advise them about any services you require in advance. Our hotel did everything possible in this situation to assist and welcome you. Best Regards,
"Awful, dirty, run down place- do not recommemd!"
We paid a little more than average for family suite because it looked great on the pics. What a disapointent! Our room had marks on the walls, old scratched out furniture and on the mattresses! In fact, they told us that's why they set up a small chair/ bed for our adult (6'3” tall ) son,- the sofa bed's mattress was dirty! The upstairs bathroom didn't have toilet so if you had to go in the middle of the night, you had to risk falling down the spiral staircase in the dark as the light switch was strategically located st the bottom of the stairs! Far from 4 star standards this hotel claims to upstand! Do not stay there,- it will ruin your Paris experience!

Dear Customer, I am more than sorry to read this feedback after your stay with us, as it is unusual for us to receive such a disappointment. I then take very seriously every remark that can be made to us, either positive or negative You may consider the typical Art Déco style is not your favourite I can hear that the style of this room was not suitable for you and we confirm that we are currently working on a renovation project. Nevertheless, the sofa chair that was prepared for your son could have been suitable for him, but you did not want it and you omitted to specify that to meet your request we have provided you with a classic room free of charge. I remain at your entire disposal.
"Good stay, comfortable beds"
Chose to stay here due to price and the location turned out to be good also. Metro is only metres away and the Arc De Triomphe is only a bus ride up the road. Access to the city from the hotel is good and nice cafes are nearby. The hotel is on a corner and is pink so hard to miss! The room was clean and I had messaged beforehand requesting a room with twin beds and got an immediate response saying the request has been met. The room was clean, comfortable and barely any noise from outside (the neighbours antics though is another story! But I didn't hear them as I was in deep sleep. My friend did lol)The bathroom was also clean. The staff at reception were very pleasant and helped with information on food and tourist locations. Lovely place and don't mind staying here again.

"Great location and value"
The man working on front desk was very welcoming and had a great sense of humour which put our trip off to a great start. The lift is very small but can fit 2 people and 1 large suitcase. If multiple trips are needed that's not a problem. The rooms are perfect or a city-break. Small and compact but have everything you could need. The metro is just around the corner and there is a supermarket close, and also a lovely bakery for pastries and croque monsieur across the road. Excellent location, would recommend.

"Would not recommend - not a 4*"
We have just finished a weekend stay at this hotel and have been left with a truly bad taste from the experience. We first arrived late on Thursday night and were checked in to a room on the 8th floor and after a short wait for the lift to be fixed, we were sent up to our room. The very small lift (just about big enough for two people and cabin bags) took us up as far as the 7th floor and we then had to walk up the final narrow flight of stairs before reaching our room: 820. This was definitely not what we had paid for. The room was extremely tight, just about fit a very small double bed and the ceiling no more than 6'2” - my partner is this height and was constantly hitting his head from the lower beams and door frame. There was no space to open our bags. We called the reception immediately, unable to sleep in this claustrophobic environment. It wasn't helped by the tight staircase up to the room and no apparent fire escape available for an exit in case of emergency. The receptionist acknowledged our complaint and noted that this room was only provided as the hotel was fully booked that night. He apologised, advised he would arrange for us to moved the next day and also provide us with a free hotel breakfast the following morning to compensate. The next room we were moved to was on the ground floor and had a standard ceiling height with a slightly bigger room, so was acceptable for the rest of our stay. It was a little noisy from the street and the next door room, but much better than our initial room. The stay was utterly ruined by the extremely rude and unhelpful receptionist at check out called Souad. She was very unhelpful and rude to us multiple times, claiming that the price we paid meant that we should have accepted the first room and advising that if we didn't like it we “should stay at home”. She advised that as she didn't work for Best Western but the hotel directly she didn't care if we complained to them about her attitude and rudeness. She also tried to force us to pay for the gratuities provided as compensation by her colleague a few days before. When speaking to her manager, they confirmed our story but Souad refused to apologised and continued her rude attitude. She was then very obstructive and refused to provide us with a receipt to confirm payment of city taxes, making us wait half an hour due to a fictitious fault with her computer, when we would have been happy with a note on our booking confirmation that it would have been sorted. She completely ruined the end of our stay and undid the good work of her colleagues is apologising for the bad start to our stay. Whilst the location of the hotel is good and the colleagues we encountered before the last day were friendly, the bad taste left by the experience on checking out would mean we would not recommend to anyone that they stay at this hotel. If you do already have a booking here you should insist on not staying on the 8th floor!

"Good hotel, great location, great value"
We booked this hotel as it was close to the start of the Paris marathon at the Arc de Triomphe. It had a rare thing in Paris - a LIFT! It was a tiny lift that only squeezed in 2 people with cabin bags but it was great. Decent standard, not as glamorous as you might think but did the job and excellent value.
Sightsee700872, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Joanne, We thank you for your feedback and hope you had a great Paris Marathon. It is true that our lift is small but it corresponds to our typical hotel. We look forward to seeing you again
"Rates nothing close to a 4 star"
The only good thing about this hotel was the location, it's very close to a metro station. This hotel was very noisy, I could hear the guests from the next room throughout my stay. The interior decor and ambience is extremely appalling. I wouldn't stay there again.

"The pictures promise more than reality"
As Best Western Black Diamond member no upgrade and no points as in fact it is not a real Best Western Hotel. Only if booked directly at the hotel you get the advantages. Rooms facing busy street and windows are not isolated. Hence not a good nights sleep possible. Check-out with only one clerk very slow.

"Quirky" hotel, good location to access centre of Paris, also to get to our offices in Levallois-Perret. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room itself was very comfortable. Bathroom lighting a bit "under powered"! Nevertheless, a good place to stay!

Eight of us stayed here in November to celebrate a milestone birthday. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Lovely boulangerie right across the street, metro stop and RER within a few minutes walk. Rooms were a good size for Paris. Staff were amazing and so helpful. Check in and out was quick and efficient. Would definitely go back. Thanks to everyone there who made it such a great stay. Highly recommend it.

"Great stay"
Stayed here while celebrating new year in Paris reception staff are great very helpful. Location is approx 30 min stroll to the Champs-Elysées, alternatively uber picks you up right outside. Rooms are quite small but have everything you could need, lift is old and slow, very small. We couldn't get 2 cases and 2 people in it. Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment however it looked ok. Supermarket a few shops down is handy.

"Great Location"
Just back from this wonderful hotel. The staff were so polite and friendly and made our stay comfortable. The breakfast was delicious in the morning and the rooms were fine. Really great hotel for the location with plenty of restaurants close by. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe

Dear Customer My team and I thank you for taking the time to let us know your satisfaction after your stay. Looking forward to welcoming you soon. Sincerely,
"Really great boutique hotel in Paris"
Lovely little hotel, only 5 rooms on each floor. Tiny slow lift but what do you expect in Paris? Rooms well appointed, staff all great, housekeeping great, 2 minutes from the Metro, 20 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe. We loved it!

Dear Customer, A big thank you for this simple and precise comment which summarizes very well our establishment, the work of the teams and especially we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. It's a pleasure to see you again
"Central location - great hotel"
We stayed with 2 toddlers, and although the lift is small and old (as is true with all Parisian hotels), we loved our stay at the Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe. It was so near to all the landmarks we wanted to visit! Great staff and very accommodating! Breakfast was great too!

"Comfortable stay!!"
My husband and I booked 7 nights at Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood at ave Wagram. It had easy access to the metro(Line 3 .. just a block away). There was a supermarket next door and a lovely pattiserie right across. The arc de Triomphe is a 20 mins walk. The rooms were a decent size and clean. There is a coffee/ tea maker(Nespresso) in the room. The housekeeping staff took utmost care to keep the rooms and toilets clean and well equipped with toiletries at all times. A special mention and Thank You to the entire staff of front desk for always solving all our queries with a smile. The lobby has a coffee/ tea maker and a plate of biscuits kept round the clock. Highly recommended for a comfortable budget hotel. Thank You entire Team Best Western for making our stay comfortable and memorable.

"Friendly Neighborhood Hotel"
I chose this hotel for the familiarity of the chain name. I was traveling with my daughter to celebrate her 13th birthday. The hotel is in a nice safe neighborhood located within walking distance to the Arc De Triomphe. We relied on the metro for all of our transportation. The metro station is located near the hotel. We had a great visit and experienced no problems. The hotel staff were both cordial and inviting.

Many thanks from the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe for staying with us and sharing your review in the mean time. I have passed on your kind words to our great team. "A good but not obvious choice"
While not the first area of Paris I would choose to stay in, the hotel turned out to be perfect for our needs. A quiet, residential neighborhood that is a 20 min walk from the Arc de Triomph, the hotel worked well for our needs - one room for three adults and air-conditioning! The staff are all very nice and helpful. This was not our first time in Paris, so we did not eat breakfast at the hotel and knew our way around the city. So - not the most obvious choice, but quite a good one
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We are happy to read that despite the fact that you did not necessarily choose our hotel, you enjoyed your short stay and enjoyed the service of our team. It's a pleasure to see you again.
"Honeymoon Vacations "
Location is good but not very near to Arc de triumph , you have to walk at least 20 mins to reach to the Arc de triomphe. However metro bus will take to Arc in 10 mins. Staff is friendly, but it seems like a 3 star hotel. Elevator is very small as only one person with his luggage can enter. We opted for 1 classic room as it was not very big and we faced problem for proper relaxing. View is very good. You will taxi and Uber easily here. Wifi is good. Breakfast is also okay for Muslims or people who want to eat halal food. All in all a good hotel but very far from Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees. ( don't consider if kids along)
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent stay at the Best Western Mercedes. We hope to welcome you back to the city of Light in the near future. Yours sincerely
"Couldn't fault this hotel for the money!"
This hotel was clean, great location, nice people! I couldn't fault it for the cheap price! the lift is very old fashioned and fits one person but it was funny and a great experience! there are not many floors so taking the stairs isn't an issue!
"Ok and quaint "
Very small bathroom, temperamental lift and could hear neighbouring rooms far too clearly. Not many restaurants nearby, except day time cafes. If visiting Paris for its tourist attractions, I would probably find something near the Notre Dame.
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Madam, We thank you for your reservation with us and it is with great attention that we take note of your comment. We confirm that our property is located in a quiet and residential area close to the metro. For restaurants, we are surprised because all around us, we can find excellent brasseries and restaurants open in the evening and regret not being able to give you complete satisfaction.
"Perfect Location and Amenities"
The Arc De Triomphe is a mere 15 minute way and the subway only one block. The location is not a typical tourist motel/hotel location, but rather a commercial and residential area combined. Many lovely shops and delicatessens were within one block. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms were spacious. The hotel staff was very courteous and helped us many times with travel directions and train destinations.
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Sir, What a pleasure to read your comment, we are delighted that your stay with us has been a success and hope to see you soon. Warms regards Céline Moreaud
"Good value and convenient location"
Located a short walk from a variety of bars & restaurant the hotel is ideal for a base to see the delights of Paris. 20/25 mins walk from the arc de triomphe or 200mtrs from Wagram metro station. Our room was plenty large enough and the bathroom was okay. The bed was supremely comfortable (we are now trying to source the mattress in the UK). The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was standard fare and totally fine. It cost about 15€ cab fare from the Gare Du Nord (22€ to get back as it was a Sunday).
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We are happy to read your review and have appreciated our bedding, which is very important for a hotel and hope you find it in UK, otherwise do not hesitate to contact us. Besst regards Céline Moreaud
"Business travel - dated interior, poor breakfast spread"
A stay of convenience, this hotel is in desperate need of a refit with a single shabby lift servicing 6 floors. Breakfast was poor and expensive for what is on offer here. Would not look to stay here again after climbing stairs to the 6th floor each day due to the lift issue
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Sir, We take note of your comment and we inform you that our hotel has only 37 rooms so it is not necessary to have 2 elevators. It is certainly a little small but corresponds to our building and we have not encountered any problem so I do not understand why you did not use it. For breakfast we offer two offers: a buffet breakfast at 15 € with a wide choice of hot and cold products and a continental breakfast at 7 €, could you specify the additional products you would like to find? We sincerely regret that your stay among us did not meet your expectations. Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud
"Average"
First off, we booked this hotel thinking it was close to arc de triomphe..nope it's at least 1.2km away. Good points: 1. Good coffee and cookies at the lobby 2. Really close to a nice grocery for any supplies you might have forgotten 3. Close to a metro (wagram) for day trips and outings Forgettable because: 1. Very erratic wifi. Our big group of 12stayed here for 6nights and most of the evenings we had to go down to the lobby for wifi. There was an entire evening where we just didn't bother because we were too tired. 2. Staff are helpful but not very friendly 3. Very small lift, can only fit 3people at the most, or one person with luggage 4. Was staying on the first floor, weather was cool so didn't mind opening the windows but the noise on the streets wakes us, so asked to turn on the airconditioning, the staff said their A/C is in “zones” and if he turns on ours it turns on in the other rooms too. He finally obliged as i only asked it on the last night of our SIX nights! but said he can't keep it on the whole night (?!). Very strange. 5. Our classic room rates were published at €79 plus taxes but in total paid at least €150 per night WITHOUT breakfast as i booked online. Not very good value for money at all. 6. Walls were thin and I could hear the showers and flushing of the room beside us. 7. No adjoining rooms so wouldn't recommend it for big groups or big famiies. 8. Small sign too, would have missed it had I not checked it on google satellite first.

Dear Customer, We would like to thank you very much for your detailed comment, regarding your stay at the Best Western Mercedes. We are delighted to read that you appreciated the coffee and cookies at the lobby, the location close to the metro and to a nice grocery. and the tranquility of our establishment. Then we apologize for the problem of wifi connection that has been repaired since. We note your comment about the small size of our elevator but in a typical Parisian hotel like it will be difficult to envisage its change. During your stay, indeed, we did not consider it useful to put the system of air conditioning en route in view of the temperatures, and for the prices, as you know the prices change according to the season, as in all the hotels of the world. We remain at your service. Best regards Céline Moreaud
"Lovely Stay!"
My friend and I stayed for 3 nights at the Best Western Mercedes Arc De Triomphe! Check in was a smooth process and we were given the option to upgrade our rooms for a charitable donation of 3 euros ! Of course we accepted this offer! Our room was lovely, of an excellent size, well appointed and had a view over Avenue Wagram. L'occitane welcome pack was a lovely touch! WiFi access was excellent - no connection issues during our stay. The elevator is absolutely tiny but given the Art Deco feel of the hotel, a larger elevator would not have been an option. No service issues using the elevator. The location of the hotel is excellent! A ten minute walk to Wagram station and around a 20 minute walk to Arc de Triomphe. The front of house staff were very helpful and accommodating which was very much appreciated. I would return to this hotel given the location, level of service and value for money. A very pleasant stay indeed

"Nice hotel with poor services"
Stayed for two nights with family. Room are spacious as compared to many hotels in Paris. Elevator was not working for more than 24 hours, with no help to move luggage to 4th floor or higher. Bread in breakfast, but with no toaster. Poor service!
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We regret very sincerely this elevator failure during this weekend. Indeed, these problems are beyond our control and our provider could not came but this problem was repaired as early on monday morning. However we are delighted to read that you have enjoyed our spacious rooms which as you point out is a rare thing in Parisian hotels. Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud
"Best hotel in Paris"
This place is awesome... we stayed here 12 years ago and loved it so much... the Art Deco style is a real selling point... we are so happy Best Western have kept the style... staff were so welcoming and helpful... rooms were kept super clean and the bed was sooooo comfortable... BEST hotel in all of Paris... the breakfast room is the pièce de résistance... we hope to be back ??

"Ok stay"
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in Feb. It is not located as close to the Arc de Triomphe as mentioned it's around a 20 minute walk. We were advised we were upgraded for free but we aren't 100% sure this was the case as we seen a few rooms being cleaned and all looked like ours! The room was a good size and had all we needed other then some plug sockets not working and the television having 0 English channels which is rather frustrating. We never ate at the hotel and there is not even a bar! Over all an OK stay. The lift also is not great, extremely small.
Céline M, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We would like to thank you very much for your comment regarding your stay at the Best Western Mercedes. We are delighted to read that you appreciated the good size room. and we would like to confirm that if the reception inform you for the upgrade it was right, in fact on the hotel we have more deluxe room th the classic room. We note your comment about the small size of our elevator but in a typical Parisian hotel like it will be difficult to envisage its change, but for the English chanel we aregoing to do something. Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud
"We had a pleasant stay"
The hotel is old but the rooms are clean and of acceptable capacity. The staff are hospitable and helpful. The elevator is very small and the lobby as well. The breakfast was good and the guy at the buffet was very nice and helpful.

"Pleasant, but dated hotel"
Well placed, Art Deco hotel. A bit tired and in need of TLC. Had a room at the front, next to the central staircase, which was noisy at night. Reasonable selection for breakfast, minimum staff. Ok if you get a decent rate.

"Pleasant clean convinient Hotel"
Had a 4 night break - stayed here. Typical French style. Very pleasant hotel - nice location Rooms at a good standard - very clean Friendly staff - spoke good English (in one case excellent English !) Close to Arc de Triomphe & Champs Eleysees etc. Have luggage store for check out ie. can leave luggage all day and collect later - very useful.

"Could be better"
We stayed here for 4 nights. It's clean and walking distance from Arch de Triomphe from where one can catch most hop and hop off buses. However the service was a bit slow, peeps due to the holiday season. We ordered coffee and water one night which never arrived. When we asked for milk we had to go to the reception to collect it. We asked for the information about restaurants and were referred to room service. Then when we wanted to order room service the things we wanted weren't available. Just felt that the service could've been better.

"Needs some TLC"
Hotel is quite dated and this is reflected in the rooms. The rooms are quite small and basic. The carpet was quite faded in places and the the bathroom had black mould and yellow scum on the tiles. The bathroom could have done with a good scrub. On a positive note it was close to the arc de triumph and metro lines so easy to get to places around. Did not eat breakfast here. There was a supermarket next door and a lovely patisserie on the opposite corner that had plenty of baguettes and croissants that was cheaper than the €15 per person for breakfast

"Perfect"
For our 25th anniversary, my beautiful wife and I took a dream trip to the city of lights and love. I had never been to Paris, so I was a little wary of staying in hotels that i wasn't sure of. Since this was under the Best Western umbrella, I was satisfied that certain standards and "accoutrements" would exist to make my 10 days enjoyable. First of all, the price for my stay was amazing. It was well within my budget, and allowed for more money to filter down to the souvenir budget. The rooms are very nice and clean. Complete with a fridge and safe. The bed was awesome, very comfortable. The staff were awesome, and did their best to assist us with knowledge of the area....and we never got lost once...lol. The look of the hotel was very cool. 1930's art deco style. Even the elevator was thirties style, in which smaller people than me could only fit in it (I'm a little bit big, but the elevator is quite small...). The location is a little out of the way (admittedly), but the metro is close by, and the Paris Metro is awesome. You're about a healthy 20 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe, and about a 35-40 walk to the Eiffel Tower. Across the street is a great bakery for some breakfast or a nice snack, and next to the hotel is a grocery store for all your other needs. All in all, an excellent hotel, and well worth the accolades.

"Beautiful Art Deco hotel"
Myself and my husband went for a 3 nights. It is a stunning hotel that could come off the screen of Poirot. Art Deco style amazing and I'm sure the world's smallest lift ??. Around a 30-60 minute walk to most places and the Arc de triumph just up the road and loads of lovely restaurants on its door step and a supermarket just next door ??

"Comfortable bed and very good location"
Stayed here for a quick 2 night trip to Paris for my friend's birthday. The room we received was spacious enough and actually bigger than expected. The beds are very comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. The hotel is in a very good spot. a 2-minute walk from the subway Wagram, supermarket, restaurants and a nice bakery all within a few minutes walk. Arc de Triomphe is about a 20minute walk though. The lift was broken on the last night so we had to lug our suitcases down from the 5th which was a bit of a pain in the morning.

"Long Weekend Break "
The hotel was very good value. The beds were very comfy and clean and it was a nicely decorated room. It is in a good location around a 20 min walk to the arc de triomphe and around 3 miles to the Eiffel Tower .There's an excellent bakery next door for breakfast. The WiFi was quick I had no problems with it. However, The TV could do with some English channels and the room service and mini bar prices could do with being reduced. These are minor things but all in all it was a good experience. For the price paid I would definitely return

"Birthday in Paris"
Me and my boyfriend came to Paris for my birthday. We stayed at Best Western Arc De Triomphe after searching around for the best affordable hotel. When we arrived we went into reception which was clean, welcoming and pleasant. From the outside there is no clear signage to say that this is a hotel it is on a tiny sign on the side of the building. Reception staff were friendly not very chatty but were happy to help us check in and took our luggage as we were quite early in our arrival. Upon checking in and coming back to the hotel we went up to our room. We had room 430, on the fourth floor. The lift is TINY, so I went in the lift with the suitcase and my boyfriend took the stairs - haha! If your not good with stairs then ask for a room on a lower level if you're not good with being in a small space then this lift is not ideal for you either. Our room was the perfect size for the two of us we were happy as the view was great we looked onto the road outside of the hotel (see picture). The bathroom was a great size as well usually in hotels like this there's just about enough room to turn around but it had a large sink, nicely tiled wall and shower/bath. The shower door though is not long enough to stop water getting onto the floor. The bath tub is worn out and would ideally need replacing at some point as it is all chipped but you can look past it. There is a hairdryer which does what it's made for if you have long hair might be ideal to take your own but I have mid length hair and it was fine for me. We didn't haven't breakfast included with our stay as we felt we didn't need it. There is a great patisserie right opposite the hotel which do croissants, pain au chocolate, baguettes and so on which are cheap and taste amazing so would recommend not getting breakfast and just going to the patisserie. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because of the location, it seemed to be close to the main sightseeing attractions. What looked like a ten minute walk to Arc De Triomphe was actually about 20-25 minutes, which is fine as it is just a straight road but with most city breaks walking gets tiring. We were expecting to be a little closer than we were but luckily we used the Metro as we couldn't have done all that we did without it. Luckily the Wagram Metro station is literally just round the side of the hotel and to the left. However, you can cut through the supermarket shop right next door to the hotel and you miss out walking the corner! One thing we really liked about the hotel was how comfortable the bed was, after walking all day the last thing you want to do is climb into a comfortable bed, the pillows were so soft and comfy I wanted to take one home - haha! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I would recommend it if you are thinking of going to Paris it's got a good location, lots of restaurants close by, quiet and secure and friendly staff. Thank you Best Western Arc De Triomphe for a lovely stay!

"Good Stay at Great Price"
I stayed here for 7 nights with my fiancé. For the price it was well worth it! The staff was extremely accommodating. They had convertors which was great when we lost ours. The elevator is EXTREMELY small. But hey! That's Paris I here. The rooms are quite small too, but they are extremely clean. Request a top floor room for the view. The only thing I wasn't happy about is the iron. They gave us two that wasn't hot or working properly. Also, the shower only has one glass door that led to water on the floor daily that I thought was an inconvenience. It is a short walking distance to Arc De Triomphe which is perfect! I would definitely stay for the price and convenience! Also next door to a food market and a short walk to a liquor store which is also great. I recommend!!

Dear Customer, We are pleased to read your review where you recommend our property and are delighted that you had a great stay with us. "Good find"
Nice hotel friendly staff on reception. Hotel was modern with good facilities. Location was slightly further out from the centre as once thought but centre and all the attractions were reachable using the metro which was located within a 3 min walk from hotel. We had the top room in the hotel accessed via 4 flights of stairs or the very small lift (2 people max) the room was very small and very warm although had all the essentials required and a great view of the local area from the velux window.

"Art Deco hotel with 21st Century service"
The hotel isn't a readily visible to arrivals as many of the other hotels in this class. The feeling is of a small, personal hotel. Staff were fantastic with a ready answer to any question, helpful in every way possible and totally unintrusive. the only drawback was the walk the the Arc de Triomphe - which took 10-15 minutes. Superb hotel, very quiet location, perfect facilities.
, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review

"Excellent Hotel!!!"
The interior of the hotel was beautiful, it was located right next to a fairly sizable grocery store, and there were tons of restaurants, patisseries, and a post office within small walking radius. Additionally, the hotel was in a great location in relation to the metro system (one was around the corner from the hotel, one was a couple of blocks away). The neighborhood was quiet and friendly and felt safe. The hotel was comfortable, housekeeping did a great job, and the front desk clerks in particular were very pleasant and helpful. In particular, Ivan was amazing! He chatted with us at length about the city and getting around, and provided information as to some of the best places to eat in the area. It was a wonderful experience. I would happily stay there again and I'd recommend it to anyone!

"Efficient but small place"
The positives for this place are great location, clean rooms and efficient staff. But when you go with a 4 star outlook, it does not match. We went in at a bad time as the renovation was on, so the feel is depressing when you enter. Lobby is small and decor / theme is muddled. Reception is professional and efficient. Explained everything to your satisfaction. Warmth is something they can add. The lift is a treat. A typical old movie feel. Small, cramped and antiquated. It was old world charm. Though the rooms are small and bathrooms are adequately sized. All amenities were provided in the room, else you could just ask for it. Wish they had a closet, as our stay was long so living out of suitcase was tough. No complaints about the services. Wifi did not work in the room one evening, but was restored the next day. I wish you can have more english TV channels. Had food in some of the eateries around the hotel as I love to eat along the street.

Dear Customer, We would like to thank you very much for your detailed comment regarding your stay at the Best Western Mercedes. We are delighted to read that you appreciated our establishment, our typical lift, our location and the professionalism of our teams. Your opinion is very important for us and are sure that we shall share it with our team. It is with great attention that we have noted the points on which we need to improve as the warmth of our lobby and work is planned Looking forward to welcoming you again, we send you our sincere greetings. "Nice hotel, but rooms very small"
I stayed in room 34, which is nice and clean and the bed very comfortable, but very small, a bit dark and a bit claustrophobic. The staff were very nice and helpful and breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. The location is decent. However, the wi-fi was not good at all. All in all om for a couple of nights, but some improvements needed.
, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Best Western Mercedes. Reading your review, I am delighted to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us, with the exception of our wi-fi system that does not fully satisfy you and we apologize. We took note of your comment regarding the room that you've found small and we are the pleasure to inform that we have different categories of rooms We hope to welcome you back. Yours sincerely, Céline Moreaud
"Quaint typical Europe hotel"
Good location, clean decent room of course small for American standards but when you're in Europe you're not going to stay in the room all the time so we didn't really mind much. Front desk staffs are very helpful and nice made us feel welcome. 5 minutes walk to metro and about 15-20 minutes to Champ Elysé. There is a church near by that rings the bell few times a day which makes Paris just like a fairy tale, like in the movie Quasimodo the hunch back of Notre Dame. Pure magical. Paris is a wonderful city but extremely and outrageously pricey so be prepared! Definitely highly recommend this hotel.

"Below expectations"
Definitely not a 4 star! Lobby is outdated! Definitely a 3 star feel. Staff was courteous but not overly welcoming. WIFI was a definite problem everyday. The facade was being repainted and the workers were literally outside my window and could see through! I had to close my curtains the whole time. AC worked well.
, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, Many thanks for staying to our hotel. It is indeed an historical hotel , unique in Paris, from 1928 and designed by the French Art déco mastermind Jacques Gruber. We can understand that this style did not suit you but for your next booking we suggest you visit our site Maranatha with hotels of different style, finally we would like to apologize for the problem of the wifi has a technical problem of our supplier . Best Regards Céline Moreaud
"Clean but Old"
This hotel is in a historic building. That is why it has a very small elevator and reception. 2 people with a luggage can barely fit into elevator. Last year furnitures were old, but a couple of months ago it was under renevation, may be it is changing. I dont know. Although being old, it was not dirty. I can say this is a clean hotel. Its location is good for tourists, it is not in the heart of Paris but it is in walking distance to too many places.
, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, The whole team joins me to thank you for your comment. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed the cleanliness of our hotel and this is always very encouraging for our maid teams. Looking forward to welcoming you soon. Céline Moreaud
"Harsha Davda "
First ever visit to Paris and stay at this Hotel was complete package. Best Location, Best Staff ... Receptionists Flaurian (sorry if I got it wrong ) went out of his way to guide ,Breakfast host Ms Sangita Rao was extremely good. Would recommend this Hotel. It's not the name of the hotel, it's the Staff that makes a hotel.

Dear Customer, What a great pleasure to read your comment after your stay. I have passed on your very kind words to the team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. They thank you for sharing this feedback about their service, their attitude. They were touched ! Warms regards Céline Moreaud
"Still under renovation"
We stayed here for the weekend. The building is still being renovated which meant that the windows are not fully double glazed. The room was therefore colder than expected and the traffic noise was barely insulated. It was nonetheless clean enough. The wifi wasn't working but was fixed the next day. The pillows were rather thin so overall, it made for a poor place to sleep in. The name suggests that it is closer to the Arc than it actually is - 15 to 20 minutes to walk there. Whilst that is not a huge problem, one just needs to be aware that it is not a mere stone's throw away.
, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer Thank you for taking the time to post a comment following your stay. Our teams work on a daily basis to make your stays more enjoyable and we are delighted that the reported problem has been solved, we regret that you found the pillows too thin we could have exchanged them. Concerning the work of the facade we regret that it disturbed you but we arrive at the end and the result we hope will be very beautiful. Our location in a residential area allows us to be close to the Arc de Triomphe without having any noise. Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud
"Great location "
A good budget hotel in a lovely location. Our room was clean, had a super shower and a very comfortable bed.The room had all the usual amenities. The big plus of this hotel is the location, leafy streets, patisseries, restaurants and the metro all close by.

Dear Customer, Thank you very much for taking time to review. Glad to hear the comfort and cleanliness met your expectations. And are delighted that you have kept the memory of your stay in Paris the good French pastries. Kind Regards Céline Moreaud Hotel Manager
"Great cozy place!"
We have stayed here twice, good location and clean and never a problem! Staff is friendly, they accept dogs and have a great breakfast. It is an old small hotel but done well, and you can check in/out quickly if your in a rush...

"Room was ok"
Bed was two single beds pushed together. Me and my partner basically sleet on our own single bed for 3 nights (not very romantic) We got recommended a restaurant by the old concierge with the moustache, the worst recommendation horrible food. Stop recommending that le corner cafe. I'm sure he gets something for the recommendation. They will serve you expensive muck badly. All in all it was an ok stay. Place is very dated with scaffolding around the whole building. Also walls are thin I could hear some one coughing next door.
, Directeur général at Best Western Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We thank you for choosing the Best Western Mercedes for your stay in Paris and for taking the time to share your views. Your feedback is precious to us since it helps us to better understand your wishes and to constantly improve our services. We sincerely regret that your stay among us did not meet your expectations. If you had informed us during your stay that the room did not suit you, our team would have made a change, as for the restaurant we are very surprised because until now we have received only good comments, could you tell us one Little more in order to inform them of your dissatisfaction. Finally, we apologize for the repair of our facade but this work was necessary and the result should hopefully be very beautiful. Sincerley yours Céline Moreaud
"Undergoing A Facelift "
We booked this hotel because of its proximity to The Arc de Triumph and the starting line of the Paris International Marathon. The rooms were small but of good size. The front managers were nice and friendly. Something to take note is the extremely small size of the elevator. It can only fit 2 persons maximum! So if you are bringing huge luggages, you might need extra trips to bring it up to your room. Also, the front steps don't have inclined passage for luggages or for access for people with special needs. I hope they will be addressing these things in their renovations, which was ongoing when I stayed there.
, Directeur général at Best Western Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We thank you for choosing our hotel for the Marathon and hope you enjoyed our location and that you were in good conditions for this magnificent Maranathon of Paris. Our property being rated we will not be able to change our entry when our rooms know that we have different categories for your next stay; Pleased to welcome you Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud
"Horrible place "
Visited this hotel recently, was woken at 8 am both mornings by builders at my window hammering and drilling, the noise eventually stopped at 11am when it was to late. Approached the employee at reception and there was nothing they could do for me. Was very disappointed with my stay
, Directeur général at Best Western Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. Reading your feedbacks, I would like to apologize since your stay did not meet your expectations and wish to extend our sincere apologies regarding the inconvenience you experienced. The noise of the works did not start before 9:00 and this morning there was an exception that we regret and apologize but the company was informed. We hope that you can give us a second chance after these works and do not hesitate to contact us directly for your reservation Best regards Céline Moreaud
"Terrible hotel"
Where do I start, a very dark and dingy overpriced hotel in Paris. Hotel is dated with dark decor. No facilities, not even a bar. It is situated on a very busy road junction and every room faces the street, so constant traffic noise. Plumbing is even noisier. Beds are like sleeping on concrete and under my bed was dirty washing and all sorts of other stuff. It clearly had not been cleaned properly for months. All in all , one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Do not stay here.
, Directeur général at Best Western Mercedes Arc De Triomphe, responded to this review
Dear Customer, I am more than sorry to read this feedback after your stay with us, as it is unusual for us to receive such a disappointment. I then take very seriously every remark that can be made to us, either positive or negative, and indeed my goal is to honor our reputation. I know that the feeling after a stay may be subjective, as it may be generated by a misunderstanding or a fail reaching your attempts. You may consider the typical Art Déco style is not your favourite, but I cannot accept a mistake concerning the cleanliness, I indeed thank you for letting me know, and invite you to send me directly an email on our public email adress to my attention. I remain at your entire disposal. Céline Moreaud Manager
"Great staff, repairs needed"
Elevator broken had to climb 5 flights of stairs, not fun. But real great staff. Construction in progress so quite noisy but good location. Close proximity to most tourists sights, good restaurants nearby. Internet did not work as properly.
, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Customer, Thank you very much for staying with us, and leaving us a comment after your stay. Indeed, we encountered a technical problem on our elevator and we apologize. We hope that you will remember our ideal geographical location, excellent restaurants and above all the quality of service of our teams. Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud Manager
"Great location. Really nice room"
Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. The staff were really helpful, explaining how the Metro worked and how to get to all of the tourist attractions in the best time possible. The room we stayed in was small but had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The lift is hilariously teeny! Would stay here again, it's a 2 minute walk from the nearest metro station so great as a base for a quick trip to fantastic Paris.
, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, On behalf of the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe, I would like to adress you a big "thank you" for staying with us, and your kind words in this reviewing. "nice hotel with big rooms"
I came to Paris for conference and was looking for hotel aroud the convention center. I liked my choice as it is near to metro (just 50 meters from hotel). even by walking it takes around 20 minutes to go to the convention center. Big rooms were a nice surprise. for breakfast there are 2 options : coffee with croissant for 7 euro , or buffet for 15 euro. one day I tried buffet menu and came to conclusion it better to have breakfast outside for the same money. Just next to the hotel there is supermarket. In the room there is coffee machine and each day they provide 4 capsules for free, although in my room there were always only 3 capsules. The hotel is clean. Very small elevator.
, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Customer, On the behalf of the whole team, I would like to deeply thank you for leaving such a positive feedback after your stay at the Best Western Mercedes. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed our various breakfast offers that we try to accomodate the requests of our guests. Our establishment is ideally located for the Palais des Congrès. Hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you for your next congress or for a weekend of leisure. Sincerely yours Céline Moreaud
"Weekend Stay"
The Hotel is average not really a 4 star hotel; is more like a 3 star hotel. If you travelling with a baby like us this hotel is not family friendly. The elevator is very small because is an old building; therefore the pram doesn't fit in it. So I have to carry the pram upstairs because the hotel staff did not wanted to help. Also when I asked for a cot to a housekeeping staff he replied it is not his area so told me to call reception; which we did and they said they did not have any cots.
, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Customer, I am more than sorry to read this feedback after your stay with us. Indeed, I can not accept the answers my team have given you, especially since we are equipped with baby cot and that we should have offered to keep your stroller in luggage to avoid you up the room. Please accept our apologies. Céline Moreaud Manager
"Lovely little hotel"
Lovely little 4 star. Rooms are clean and modern, staff are friendly and helpful. Check in is at 3, we arrived at 1 and they were more than happy to check us in early and even offered to upgrade our room free of charge. Nespresso machines provided in the rooms which is usually a feature you'd find in a 5 star. Fantastic location, a short 20 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe and brilliant value for money, would definitely book again.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Hosts, The entire team and myself feel very grateful to read your kind words. Our team was delighted to welcome you and propose you the upgrade. It is a pleasure to read the Nespresso facilities are generally a 5-star plus and not a 4. It is one of the added values we've brought to the rooms to propose the best stay possible. We would definitely be pleased to welcome you again at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. Do not hesitate to contact us directly by phone, by mail or on our website to do so. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Close to the Triumph Arch"
This was the only hotel in our adventure that stuck to its check in time as we arrived at one and was told check in was at three. We were able to leave our bags in a corner in the waiting area. We did get great directions from the staff on were to begin our sight seeing tour of Paris

"Paris 2016"
This hotel is fine if you are on a budget. Stayed as a couple. Walls are very thin so you could hear the conversations from the people next door. Supermarket right next door which is very handy. Reception staff speak good English and are very helpful. They explained how to use the metro and provided us with maps, pointing out the correct lines to get to our destinations. Metro station right beside hotel and the easiest way to travel round the city. Much cheaper than using taxis
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review

"Super location"
BEST WESTERN Hôtel Mercedes is walking distance to the Place d'Etoiles and Arc de Triomphe. The subway stop is only one block away, and the grocery store next door is super convenient. Windows open for fresh air and a view of the city.

"Nice place to stay and very central to Arc de Triomphe"
This hotel is located in a very nice suburb of Paris which is very well serviced by the Metro allowing you easy access to the rest of this vast city The General Manager - Guillaume Marchand had made significant changes to the hotel for the betterment of his clients - word has it that the hotel will embark on a refurbishment program starting sometime in 2017 David O' Neill
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Mr O'Neill I would first to thank you very much for choosing our hotel and leaving this review that really touched me. I also of course perfectly remember our discussion, and as already seen together, I personnally remain at your full disposal for the best conditions to propose for your next great stay here that I hope. I wish you a very pleasant day. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Lovely Property & Friendly Staff - Will Stay again"
We stayed here for several nights and enjoyed the experience thoroughly. The pink exterior of the building doesn't do this property justice - the art deco features inside are a lovely touch and the rooms well appointed and nicely updated. On arrival, we were upgraded to a deluxe room by the lady at front desk, which was a welcome and generous surprise. The staff are VERY helpful and helped coordinate our return transport to CDG when we expressed uncertainty about the best way to proceed. The room was incredibly spacious, with comfortable and modern furnishings and a good selection of coffee. It was very clean and the linens clean, sumptuous and crisp. The room's ensuite was nicely updated, spotless, and offered toiletries by l'Occitane en Provence, a nice treat. The room faced Rue Wagram and Place D'Israel for some novel people-watching. It was very quiet. The property itself is in a more residential area away from the hustle of the shops and markets on Ave Ternes, for example. The quieter location is reflected in the reasonable prices and the peacefulness was a nice change of pace. The property's located across the street from a delectable patisserie with great coffee and is steps from the Metro, which is our recommended mode of transport. The Paris metro is quite tidy, efficient and exceptionally well organized. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Paris.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Mundabella, Dear Hosts, Our deepest thanks to you for sharing this review that really made us happy. We are really thrilled to read that you enjoyed your parisian last experience thanks to your stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. You perfectly noticed the unique Art déco identity of the hotel with rare pieces in the lobby, unique stained glasses in the breakfast room by Jacques Gruber who also made the dome of the Galeries Lafayette. I share your point of view concerning the facade and I've got the pleasure to announce this patrimonial building will be renovated soon (and with the original colours from 1928 : black and white, but with of course a modern point of view). I am also very happy to read youv' noticed the comfort and attention brought to your room, with indeed Occcitane facilities, comfortable beds, new tv's... We would be very pleased to welcome you on a new occasion, and I invite you to contact us directly to do so to make it easier. Kindest Regards from the entire team Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Ruby Wedding AnniversaryTrip"
We stayed at the Mercedes in Paris for 4 days as it was reasonably priced and had a good location for getting around Paris on the Metro. The hotel is a small 1930's style hotel, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff are very helpful and there is no need to worry about not having very good French as they are fluent in many languages. Breakfast is a buffet style with hot and cold options. Although the hotel is on a major Avenue the traffic noise did not keep us awake at night. There is plenty of information kept in the reception area for guests to use to plan and find out what is happening in Paris during your stay, plus the staff are helpful in giving local knowledge as well.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Peter L, Dear Hosts, We were so delighted to read your review this morning. The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself were really pleased to welcome you on this so special occasion for you. The Mercedes has indeed a strong history in Paris. The hotel was built in 1928 by the Art déco mastermind Pierre Patou who designed this unique building in the city, and offered to the hotel original stained glasses by Jacques Gruber, who also designed the Galeries Lafayette Dome in the mean time. I have passed on your kind words to our great team. I am also happy to read you've enjoyed the buffet breakfast as we deliver a new formula. We would be very happy to welcome you again, and remain at your entire disposal by email or by phone to do so. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great staff and charming hotel!"
Lovely residential area and charming art deco building. Staff went out of their way to help me when I had a problem. Rooms are clean, classy and have brand new bathrooms. Bakery next door is wonderful and there are several supermarkets near by.

"A pleasant experience"
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom is very cleans and look recently been refurbished. Location is easy to use metro. My wife and I stayed in a deluxe double room and room was better than what we expected. We are very satisfied specially because they offered us an early checkin and late checkout. Lobby and room is not luxurious but they are very clean and have a very warm atmosphere that can make a trip memorable for you. We'll choose this hotel again to recall our good memories that this hotel's staff helped use to make by avoiding everything has cause hassles for us.

We definitely hope to welcome you again at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe, and remain at your entire disposal to do so. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"a truly Parisian hotel - great location"
my family stayed here at the hotel for a week, banking on the surety of a hotel-chain- Best Western; we were surprised by the warm welcome and our first taste of Paris - those pigeon-hole lifts - just amazing; room was just adequate - our daughter has a separate bed in her own corner; very close to metro stations; Breakfast was average - but we never intended to eat in the hotel any which way - so that worked out well in walking distance to major attractions all in all - we left with cherished memories
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear WyzOne, Dear Hosts, Many thanks from the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe for sharing this review after your stay. "Great Hotel"
Just returned from a 4 night stay. We booked 2 rooms as we travelled with friends.I emailed the hotel prior to our arrival and told them it was my husbands birthday. They emailed me and told me they had upgraded our room to a superior room. The staff were very friendly the room was clean and a good size the beds were very comfortable. The only downfall was the lift, very small. Overall a fantastic little hotel, would like to return one day.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Janice G, Dear Hosts, What a pleasure opening up my emails this morning and taking acknowledge of your review. We were very pleased to read you enjoyed your two rooms and especially on this particular occasion for you. Deluxe Rooms are indeed very spacious , and we made investments recently with new beds, new Wifi debit, new TV's, Nespresso Machines at disposal... The lift is indeed small, I would say typically parisian for an historical building such as ours, but the team is always here to help if needed for luggages. We would be delighted to welcome you again. Do not hesitate to contact us directly in the future to organise it in the best conditions. Truly yours Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great stay at this hotel"
My wife and I traveled to Paris for a 4 night stay and stayed at this boutique hotel. Although it was a good 15 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe we enjoyed it. All the desk staff were very helpful, providing information about the local area and where to eat and visit. The breakfast was adequate with good service from the waiter. Admittedly the room was not spacious but it was adequate, we've stayed in smaller rooms in New York. WiFi was good and fast enough for me to upload my blog which included a lot of photos.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Hosts Many thanks from the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe for staying with us and sharing your review in the mean time. I have passed on your kind words to our great team. I am happy to read you've noticed the quality of the breakfast with our brand new formula , made of regional products for a great part, and also the quality of the wifi. Indeed we are not just close to the Arc de Triomphe but in a residential area on the Avenue de Wagram with the Arc de Triomphe visible straight ahead as soon as you exit the hotel on the Avenue. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again. Sincerely yours Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great little hotel in Paris"
My wife and I stayed in this hotel from Sept. 20 to 26, 2016. I found this little gem through a travel website. We spent several hours on the internet reading reviews and comparing prices. So far, this hotel hits the mark on price, features, and location. STAFF: I would like to tip my hat and thank the front desk, cleaning, and breakfast buffet staff for providing us with excellent service. Everyone was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Front desk staff always has someone who knows English which is something we find helpful (as tourists who know very limited French) especially when asking directions or help in navigating the RATP metro system. A very special thanks to Shiran who manned the breakfast buffet most of the days during our stay. We like his upbeat attitude, friendliness, and jolly demeanor. THE PROPERTY: This is a small 8-floor hotel. We estimate around 30 rooms between the 1st and 6th floors. The seventh floor probably only has three or four larger units. The ground floor is Reception and the Front Desk. There is a basement dining room where guests can have breakfast. The hotel is situated in Wagram. This neighborhood is quiet and less busier compared to other hotel locations. It has a good collection of nearby bistros, cafes, patisseries, and boulangeries. If you venture into the smaller streets within the neighborhood, you'll be able to find Asian and Oriental restos that offer good but much cheaper food compared to the cafes and bistros. The property is very close to the Wagram Metro station that will take you anywhere around Paris. If you prefer to walk, Arc de Triumph is a 20-minute leisure walk away. On one day, my wife and I did a leisurely walk from Ile de la Cite all the way back to the hotel via the Louvre, Jardin de Tulieries, Champs Elysee, Arc de Triumph, and Avenue de Wagram. THE ROOM: We were initially given a room on the first floor but inquired if there is an available room on a higher floor so we can be as far away from street noise as possible. We ended up in Room 620 on the 6th floor. Perfect! It has a small balcony that allows you to have a bird's eye view of the street activity below. Rooms on the lower floors don't have this balcony. The room has A/C, a stocked mini fridge (you pay to use the contents), coffee maker (free), tiny open closet with lots of hangers, an electronic safe, and hairdryer. These are things you normally get in a room in a Best West. When we research hotels, our top search items included room A/C, a closet with hangers, and an electronic room safe. We could have slept without A/C but it helped drown out the outside noise and noise coming from adjacent rooms while we slept. The closet with hangers allow us to recycle our clothes so we can re-use them another day if they're still reusable. And, the electronic safe to keep our valuables. Not all Paris hotels have these three important amenities. Most comparable Paris hotels have very small rooms and this one was no different. The room is wide enough for the queen size bed, a small desk with very little room to move around. This was no surprise to use since we have read reviews and compared various hotel rooms before settling on this Best West. BREAKFAST: Breakfast is an extra charge or included in the room's package price. Most guests run to a nearby boulangerie or patisserie and grab something for breakfast. My wife and I just had breakfast included with our room simply because we do not want to hunt around for food early in the morning. There is a nice coffee/hot chocolate machine that makes good cappuccino and hot chocolate. I'd like one in my home. Hot breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon (Euro kind not the kind found in North America), and sausages. A variety of bread can be had with butter and jams. You can poach your own egg just make sure you don't over-poach it. There is a choice of several cheeses, cold cut meats so you can make a nice sandwich. Milk and yoghurt is available as well as dry cereal (corn flakes, muesli, etc.). Overall, the breakfast was sufficient to start our day. In conclusion, we enjoyed our stay at this decent Best Western Hotel. We will not hesitate to consider this hotel when planning our next trip to Paris.

Dear Mr and Mrs , Dear Hosts, I must say that the entire team of the BW Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself felt really touched when reading your review. We could not thank you enough for leaving those words that really count for us, as we are first really happy to help make your stay in Paris so memorable , and secondly because I feel honored that you've seen how much our great team is dedicated and also are sincere when they deserve their quality of service. I have passed on your words to Shiran , our great and devoted waiter for many years, who loves deliver our new buffet breakfast with a complete new formula made of a selection of regional products, and in quantity. Our property is indeed a 37-rooms one, with this chance for the hotel to be held in a patrimonial building that was built in 1928 by Pierre Patou, mastermind of the french Art déco in those years. He's the one who contacted Jacques Gruber who designed these unique stained glasses in the breakfast room while he was designing the Galeries Lafayette skydome in the mean time. We are also pleased to read you've noticed all these extras we've provided in the rooms. Some of them are indeed usual in Best Western hotels and resorts, but some are our own choice, such as the Nespresso Machine at free disposal, the brand new large TV's, and last but not least, new beds and a powerful wifi now thanks to the fiber optic. I am happy to read your room was on the 6th floor, as these Deluxe Rooms are spacious, luminous, and benefit from a small balcony. All our rooms are indeed bigger than the 4-star parisians norms require, and that is why we always try to propose Deluxe Rooms as the comfort is really present in these even bigger rooms than the Classic Rooms. We could not thank you enough for testing our new breakfast as unfortunately many guest only identify the nice bakery in front and not our offer. That is why I took the decision to propose a lot of products at a low rate of 15€. It would be definitely a pleasure to welcome you back, and the Front Desk team can totally assist you for that, either by phone or by email (reservation@paris-hotel-mercedes.com). Sincerely yours Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"poor hotel"
staff on front desk are rude and unhelpful. the breakfast at 15 euros is an absolute joke . I don't know how they can charge even 5 euros for the poor buffet offered. the room was just ok although it did smell damp. the location is good but that is all this hotel has to offer. I will definitely not stay there again.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear "Kevin R", I must say I feel always embarrassed by responding pubicly when all the team is here to listen to any disappointment during a stay. Luckily a lot of our hosts know that and personnally I'm used to stay about 12-13 hours per day at the hotel, so I could also have definitely try to help you. I now must understand why you qualify the team to be rude and unhelpful. Always remember it can really hurt people and in this case my team to read that, especially without explanations. They are also humans !! So feel totally free to contact me directly now you have my name in order to understand the eventual issue , and see in fonction how I could propose you a new experience. But "Poor hotel" is indeed very agressive, could be considered as diffaming, and since we have now the possibility to contact Trip Advisor in this case, please be informed I've also contacted them on this point. Very cordially Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Decent location but that's the best part"
Absolutely tiny room (even by European standards). Not the most helpful front desk staff. Decent location. There are quite a few other options in the area; on a future trip I'd probably explore another hotel.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Brad B, Thank you very much first for staying with us, and leaving us a comment after your stay. We were unfortunately sad to read these few lines. Of course everything is a question of perception, and that is the reason why I allow myself to precise you that on the contrary our rooms are all bigger than parisian standards require in 4 star hotels ! Classic Rooms are all almost 15 m2 when Deluxe Rooms are between 18 and 22 m2, which explains why so many corporate guests choose the hotel. I would really like to propose you another occasion to disover the hotel with a better experience. Do not hesitate to reach me at the phone number of the hotel to see how I can propose you the best solution for that, when you plan to come back to Paris. Sincerely yours Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Poor, poor, poor"
By photos you can say that the hotel is nice, but when you come there you rest shocked! The staff is not nice and the hotel has awful halls and there are a lot od road noises (out room was first raw from the road - only 2.5m) If you don't have to, don't go.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Mr Patrick Darrer, We are so disappointed to read such a negative comment , but do not understand your point of view as it does not reflect at all the reality and the feedback of many of our guests (including the noise as we are indeed on a quiet and residential place which is not that usual in Paris !). What do you refer to exactly with our team ? I do need more details as it is too vague (and almost defamatory) to help you in any way. Plus, we do not have halls !? A cosy lobby on the contrary, which is definitely not as big as an "hall"... Last but not least, we found a stay under your name in January 2016 (unless it is a namesake), so I do not understand why a feedback now, especially when we could have directly helped you during your stay !? Remaining at your full disposal to investigate, Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Pretty good quality"
The location of the hotel is good in a quiet nice neighbourhood just a few hundred meters from the metro station. You can also walk to the Arc de Triomphe in approximately 20 minutes. There's a grocery store right next to the hotel and a couple boulangeries around the corner. The staff was helpful and professional. They don't have a luggage room to store the luggage over the day, which means that you need to leave your luggage in the lobby (not locked). The room was very small, but had a nice little balcony. The wi-fi worked pretty well and the room was clean. The only minus was that we could clearly hear the guests staying in the next room, as the walls weren't soundproof. All in all we were satisfied with the stay and felt we received value for our money.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Sara_Stockholm Many thanks for reviewing after your stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. We are pleased to read you've enjoyed the comfort of your room, the quality of the wifi. I've taken good note about your other remarks and thank you for that. I felt concerned meanwhile as we do have a luggage room , so I presume it was temporarily full unfortunately when you came. I'll investigate that with the team. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great little find"
Mercedes hotel was perfect for our trip to Paris. First off my husband emailed them ahead of time to advise them it was my birthday and they upgraded us from a classic to a deluxe room. The room was big compared to most big city hotels, huge king bed that was really comfy, large bathroom with shower over bath that was both powerful and hot. The wifi is the best I have ever used in any hotel fast with no loss of connection the whole time. Air con was a god send as it was so hot while we were there, it's also quiet so you can leave it on all night and still sleep with no problems. The hotel is in a quite area but very close to Wagram metro station and next to a supermarket. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English, all in all this was great value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host Many thanks for reviewing after your stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe ! We are delighted to read you've enjoyed the bigger space in your room than in standard 4 hotels, and very happy to read you could notice the wifi powerful debit since we set the fiber optic in the entire hotel for a few months now. The hotel is indeed in a quiet area away from the rush around the Champs-Elysées while being close to the avenue. I have passed on your kind words to the team. We would be very happy to welcome you again. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Nice hotel but small! "
Good area, nice small hotel which was very clean. The hotel is really small starting with the lift that fits 2 people with 2 small cases max. We had an attic room on the 8th floor in which you could hardly swing a cat. However the views are the best in the hotel I would say as they overlooked all the other buildings. The rooms are clean however we did have to ask housekeeping to clean I the first day as they didn't even know we were in the room. The hotel staff are very polite and friendly especially the man on check in on the evenings who says he's the credit controller. The area is residential/business area so be warned nothing opens on a Sunday or late in the evening. The area is quite affluent and therefore prices are high (€10 for 2 coffee's). the hotel itself is 2 mins walk from the wagram metro station so very handy. There is a handy corner shop straight out of the station exit with a very friendly French man running it. Would stay here again if going to Paris and would recommend as long as you don't mind using the metro.

"The Hotel staff were extremely welcoming and spoke good English"
We were travelling from London Luton Airport, UK to Paris Charles de Gaulle and we got to the hotel quite late, at about 10:00pm French Time so we were tired, the staff helped us with our bags and showed us around and to our rooms, the rooms were amazing and I recommend going there. My one complaint is that the receptionist only spoke French so I had to use my limited knowledge of French to talk to him

"Clean and comfortable"
This was a last minute (literally) alternative booking as the hotel I had originally booked in Paris was closed when we turned up (separate review - Hotel Splendor, 38 rue Cardinet). Expedia sorted Hotel Mercedes for me within an hour of things going pear shaped at the previous property and I must say I was impressed with how quickly our booking was sorted out. I think we arrived at the Mercedes within 5 minutes of Expedia making the booking and we were in our room 10 minutes later. The gentleman on reception was exceptionally polite which helped to calm me down. The hotel is an art deco building which has been well maintained, though still has an air of shabby chic about it - certainly in the reception area. We were glad to see the rooms were more modern (they looked fairly recently refurbished). They were very clean with furniture in good condition, comfortable twin beds, nice pillows, good quality bedding, fridge (with usual selection of drinks snacks etc), a nespresso coffee machine and free coffee capsules and tea bags, large flatscreen tv, and very good bathroom - full size bath with power shower attachment. Toiletries were a little disappointing in quality (also no hair conditioner) but were replenished generously, so these are petty niggles not serious issues. The Air Con was fantastic, very efficient and almost completely silent - impressive! Rooms were cleaned and tidied very well and overall we were pleased with our stay here. It's an awkward review as I had not chosen this hotel, but was rather compelled to stay there because my original booking had fallen through. The location was good. Central enough, if you're happy to walk, but less than 2 minutes walk to Wagram Metro station on line 3 which is convenient for most of the main Parisian attractions. We did take a cab back late one evening from the Champs Elysees and that only cost 7.50 euro. There was a dining room where breakfast was served in the basement. at 15 euro per person for the buffet and 7 euro per person for the 'express breakfast' (whatever that was) but we instead chose to breakfast at the various cafes and boulangeries nearer the centre - you can get more for your money there. There weren't that many boulangeries, or supermarkets nearby even though it felt like a residential neighbourhood, but there were a couple of cafes and restaurants. All in all I'd say it was a fine hotel for a couple of nights.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Hosts We have to say the reading of your review was such a great moment yesterday for the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. I have passed on your very kind words to them. The reservation was made apparently so quickly that I am happy to read you could enjoy your room very fast after arrival. It is a pleasure to read you enjoyed the comfort of your room, cleanliness, Nespresso facilities... and the ideal location not far from the Champs-Elysées but on a quiet side of the Avenue de Wagram. Also, I did read your remark about the hair conditionner but and we feel sorry for that as we do propose it. It is also always an honor for us to read that if the hotel was not your original choice for any reason, you enjoyed it as an alternative. We are definitely looking forward to welcome you back ! Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Nice hotel, quaint "
The hotel is situated a 15 minute walk from the arc de triumph however Wagram metro is a minute walk away !! Rooms very clean and bathroom spacious, typical small lift and spiral stairs which are nice in this quaint hotel. The checkin was simple and the staff spoke fluent English and were so helpful !! Excellent wifi which we needed as after walking around Paris all day we wanted to watch a movie so thank god for iPhone as no UK tv which was a shame as the flat screen TVs was fab !! I know we are not there to watch tv but it's nice to chill. The restaurants are all expensive £19 for burger and chips and coke £3-£4 !! Wine and beer expensive !! Le Bateau calife was a fantastic dining and cruise experience along the seine not as crass as the others. All in all fab few days away and the metro simple to use !!
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Hosts Many thanks for staying at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and leaving us your review. We are delighted to read you qualify the hotel as a quaint hotel. Indeed, the Mercedes, with its typical Art déco building, and cosy atmosphere has a lot to offer. We did improve recently the comfort with brand new flat tv's, powerful wifi with fiber optic facilites, but I've taken good note of your remark about uk channel missing. We are hoping to welcome you back ! Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Greedy poor staff"
Booked through low cost holiday website 2 months in advance. Low cost become bankrupt and 2 week before my arrival they said your booking is cancelled and you need to make new reservation with the new price. They refused to honor low cost holiday rate. We told them that although we paid in full to low cost holiday we are happy to pay the same amount again. But the refused and ask as to pay double the agreed price with low cost. Greedy
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Sir We were really surprised to read this review... as we have nothing to deal with the bankrupt of the online distributor you are referring to. Many hotels in all Europe were advised of this bankrupt on late July, and received specific instructions. Those were that they informed they would refund all their guests, and that the hotels should ask for the payment on spot. Rates can not been compared between direct rates and net rates through B to B distribution, meanwhile the hotel did try to propose you the best attractive rate on that period. We did nothing else than trying to help you the best way. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great hotel close to Champs Elysees"
My husband and I were attending a wedding in Paris and spent a night at this lovely, comfortable hotel on 6/7th August 2016. The hotel is clean, comfortable and a 10 minute walk away from Champs Elysee and the Arc de Triomphe. We arrived at about 12.30 on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to be told that our room was ready and that we could check in straight away (normal check in time is 2 pm) The room was attractive, compact and well equipped with coffee making facilities and plentiful toiletries in the bathroom which had a bath, shower and bidet. The reception staff were courteous and helpful. We needed a taxi to get to the wedding venue and the reception organised this for us. On the day of departure the reception team were very happy to hold our luggage for us after we had checked out so that we could carry on sightseeing until we left in the evening. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on this- maybe next time!
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Resham66, Dear Host, Thank you very much for staying at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. What an honor to read you came on a special occasion. We are very pleased also your room was available early on that Saturday so you could enjoy all the facilities and the comfort. I have passed on your kind words to our great team. We are really hoping to welcome you back again ! Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Cozy, quaint, and prototypically Parisian"
Had a lovely stay here for four nights in early August 2016. If you are from North America you might find the rooms somewhat small, but I found ours to be spacious enough. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a few steps away from the Wagram subway station, which gives you access to virtually anywhere in Paris (the city has a superbly extensive subway system, although mind the smell). Breakfast is not included, and for the 15€ it felt underwhelming. You might be better off stopping in at one of Paris' many fine cafés for breakfast, or picking something up at the nearby grocery store. Overall, it's a comfortable and convenient place to stay for a reasonable price.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Norman K, Dear Host, The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself thank you a lot for staying with us and also taking time to review after. I feel really happy to read you enjoyed the comfort of your room and also the size, as sizes are indeed higher than parisian standards require. I've taken good note of your remark about the breakfast. We've been working on a brand new formula. Looking forward to welcoming you again Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Tour de France weekend stay."
Stayed here for two nights over the Tour de France weekend in Paris. Picked this hotel as it was reasonably close to Arc de Triomphe- a stiff 10 minutes walk though- and handy for Metro-Wagram just around the corner. Check in took a little longer than we liked but we'd arrived just at the correct check in time, as had everyone else, so this is not a reflection of the staff member's efficiency in any way! All staff members we encountered were pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the duplex family suite and were more than happy with it. It gave us plenty of space for the three of us, with our teenage daughter sleeping downstairs, in a proper bed mind you! and my husband and I having the upstairs sleeping area. It was very smart and well appointed, with wifi available, a smart TV facing the upstairs bed, a lovely bathroom with jacuzzi bath, and a balcony from which you could survey the Parisienne rooftops. The air conditioning was very efficient and very welcome in the muggy weather and there were ample tea/ coffee making facilities too. In the entrance way to the room, just outside the downstairs/sitting area, was the toilet, and we thought this was much handier if you stayed with younger children, as they wouldn't then need to clamber up and down the stairs during the night if they needed the loo. (The bathroom was on the upper floor of the room). The only slight disappointment was that we couldn't get the jacuzzi bath to work and we'd been so looking forward to it, after a hard days sightseeing and standing around. We did ask a guy at reception one evening but he wasn't sure and said to ask someone else the next day but we didn't get a chance. All in all though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again when in Paris.
"Really pleased and a good price"
Since I realised a couple of years ago that my 40th birthday would coincide with the final stage of the 2016 Tour de France, it was quite obvious where I should be on that day. I was a bit worried since I assumed hotels would be very expensive around this date, particularly within walking distance of the Champs Elysees-however TripAdvisor came to the rescue by suggesting the Mercedes. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how nice both the hotel and room were. The bathroom was clean and high quality and the whole room was well designed and a reasonable size for a Parisian hotel. Wifi was reliable and fast. Staff were efficient and helpful. The only downside was that we would have preferred a double bed as opposed to the twins provided. However everything else more than made up - including the very welcom air conditioning. So we would definitely return to stay-just hopefully with a double bed this time!
"Not a four star at all"
The hotel is situated in a projecting corner of a building with tiny rooms and a tinier lift in which u can carry only one suitcase at a time. The hotel is run by a single staff member at the reception and a cleaning lady comes mornings. There is a breakfast room in the basement but I saw neither any staff nor guests in it ever. If u want any consumable like soap then u have to fetch it yourself from the reception since they are not replaced daily. Although the hotel is just a few steps from Wagram metro station but it's not on a direct line so its very inconvenient to change lines esp when there is a language issue and once while returning from Eiffel Tower one night we had a tough time. There's a patisserie right opposite which opens very early and sells better stuff than Paul's which seems popular in Paris, so better to pack ur sandwiches from here than stand in a queue at popular tourist spots. The beds are very comfortable so u get a sound sleep after walking back from Champs elysee about 15 min by foot.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host We first of all thank you for staying with us on your last parisian stay. On the other hand, I am always disappointed to read such a feedback after a stay, as it is definitely a much easier way to sollicitate us during your stay. You can be assured the management would have tried to help you. Also, I am sorry also to precise it is wrong to say there is no one at the breakfast : it may happen in a hotel that at a time there is neither other guest in the breakfast room or a tender who may be away for a few moments. The reception at least is always here to answer you if the wait was a bit too long. Soap is of course always replaced on a daily basis and we apologise then if the maid one day unfortunately forgot. It should not have happened. Luckily the reception replaced it. However, we cannot unfortunately blame ourselves for being on line 3 of the metro and not being as close as you would have preferred. Every district has its charm. At least we are not far from the Champs-Elysées, and for your information the centre of Paris (Notre Dame) is at 15 minutes by metro from the hotel. We respect your point of view, and are sorry for not meeting your attempts. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Small rooms and rubbish WIFI"
Very small rooms and bathroom (only a shower, no bath). I was travelling on business so needed the WIFI. After about 8pm it stopped working and the hotel's response was that they were fully booked so there were lots of people using it. The breakfast isn't very good either, plenty of places to eat nearby.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host We thank you first for leaving us your feedback. We are meanwhile very surprised to read your remark about the shower. Indeed Classic Rooms propose showers and not bath. We definitely would have proposed you a Deluxe Room if you would have booked so and most of all we would have made our best to upgrade you during your stay if this category was available. The reception was here to help ! We are also very surprised for the Wifi and remain at your disposal to understand who answered you that at is definitely not the usual response that our members give. On the contrary if there is a problem they even go themselves on the concerned floor to doublecheck the hotspot. On the top of that we've been offering the fiber optic now for 3 months , the reason is specifically because we receive many corporate guests. The debit then is normally 7.5 MO per second per room ! I would definitely appreciate then if you could email us and give us the number of your room to invesigate on that. We remain at your entire disposal. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Fantastic Holiday"
Spent a fabulous 3 days there for my partners 40th birthday. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were fantastic. Fantastic location Only a 20 minute walk to the Arc de Triumph and a 40 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. Will definitely stay there again.

"Third time stayed here :)"
Stayed here several times it's position is fantastic staff speak good English and helpful - it's expensive but then again it's PARIS. We have never had breakfast at hotel so cannot comment on that - We have always been able to park at side of hotel - free at weekends. Another good visit.

Dear Host The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe would like to thank you very much for this very kind review. We are honored to welcome you for the third time and remain at your disposal at the hotel to organize your next visit. Once again thank you very much. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Close to metro; quiet neighborhood, small room, friendly staff speaks English"
Room is small by USA standards so if you're used to the large Best Western rooms in the states, don't expect to find that at this Paris hotel. The staff speaks English well. The night hotel clerk was very friendly and helped me purchase a ticket on the Air France bus leaving from the Arc de Triumphe. The bus ticket is 17 Euros to the airport CDG. It's a 15 minute walk from the hotel or take a cab. I took a cab during a time when there was zero traffic on late Sunday night. and it cost $12 Euros. Walking is better because that's the cab rate with zero traffic; I can only imagine the high cost with traffic delays. As I mentioned, the night clerk was friendly and helpful. There's a small frig in the room to put one or two bottles of water or soda. As I mentioned, the room is small so not too many options where to put your luggage without bumping into it. The shower door didn't seal all the way so the bathroom got water on the floor. There was a shower towel mat to place on the floor. The room has a skinny balcony. The elevator is the smallest elevator I've ever been in. With my luggage, only one person could fit in the elevator. I really liked the quiet neighborhood and it's very close to the grocery store and pharmacy. The metro is just around the corner and very convenient to this hotel. I felt safe in this neighborhood. Some of the other reviewers said the WiFi wasn't that good but I think they must have improved that because I had no issues uploading some of my tourist pictures online using their wifi.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe thanks you very much for leaving such a detailed and positive feedback after your stay. Definitely, I fully agree US standards are not the same for being used to go there, but also it is intereresting to know most of our rooms offer bigger sizes than the local 4-star norms require. I am pleased to read our staff members fulfilled your attempts. Indeed, the lift is typical as our historical building does not allow us the possibility to extend it.... The neighborhood and the district are indeed so pleasant and quiet, while being close to the Champs-Elysées area. Also, I really thank you for mentionning the improvment of the Wifi... as we did set the fiber optic three months ago. We would be very pleased to welcome you again. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Clean, friendly and great location. "
My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. Booked via last minute. Great location. Clean tidy room. Friendly staff very helpful. Would definitely stay again. Would be good if the hotel was a little bigger with a bar. There is a great bakery across the road for breakfast on the go. Thank you.

"Everything was good apart from one of the receptionists"
The room is small, so its worth paying extra for suite. Housekeeping and reception staff was very nice and helping. However on our last night the receptionist draw on some racist comments about us being friends of different races, stating that it is weird. Which made us feel very uncomfortable. Not happy about that whatsoever. Everyone else was wonderful.

Dear Host, We would like first to thank you very much for choosing during your last stay, and for reviewing after. I am pleased to read your kind words about the kindness and professionalism of our team. Meanwhile, I was really surprised and let's say shocked, when reading what happened with someone of the team. I do care a lot about these subjects and I am really surprised someone of the team woud have had such an oriented discussion. I then absolutely need more details than on public reviewing and remain at your entire disposal by phone to help me understand what occurred. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"nice hotel"
We found this hotel to be in a great quiet neighborhood and close to many nice restaurants. Ten minute walk to Arc de Triomphe and Champs de Elysee There is a metro stration just around the corner. Just across the street is a great Patisserie as well. Staff are extremely helpful in every way. This is an older building...built in 1930. It is quaint and small. The elevator has room for two people and two small suitcases but works fine. There is breakfast each morning but it is expensive compared to the offerings right next to the hotel The room is clean and average size for Paris. We would go there again.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Hosts, Many thanks to you for choosing the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe for your recent stay in Paris. We are really pleased to read you enjoyed your stay with us, in our typical Art déco hotel with its unique structure in Paris. We are happy to read you've already plan to come back, and remain at your entire disposal to organize your future stay. Sincerely yours, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Nice hotel in Paris"
We found a good deal on Expedia for this hotel, and booked not knowing a great deal about the hotel or the area. The hotel is about a 15 min cab ride from the train station, and located within a two minute walk of the Wagram metro line (by far the best way to get around Paris and avoid the traffic chaos). Also walking distance to the RER and bus lines. A quieter part of town, about a 15 min walk to the Arc de Triumphe. Reception staff were very friendly, and very helpful in giving guidance/direction around the city. Our room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I agree with another reviewer about the bathroom - there was no shower curtain and only a small glass partition (that moved!). Even when I tried to not get water on the floor, I still ended up with a significant amount of water on the floor. This is probably my only complaint about our stay. There is a continental breakfast (for an additional cost) provided each morning, and I really enjoyed the Nespresso coffee maker in the room. The wifi did cut in and out, but overall worked well and was consistent when we needed it. Although the decor was a little dated, and yes, the lift is small, it did get our overpacked suitcases up and down when needed. I would recommend this hotel to others, and would stay here again.

Dear Host, Dear ChelseaCaldwell, The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself would like to thank you a lot first for staying with us. We were delighted and so happy to read your very nice feedback. I have passed on your kind words to our great reception members. I am also happy to read you've noticed the comfort and the quality of the bed in your room. Meanwhile I've taken good note of the lack of bathdoor. We are sorry for that and solved it since. I am also very happy to read that these special attentions we bring such as the Nespresso machine facilities pleased you. We would be honored to welcome you again, and remain at your entire diposal by phone or email to do so. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Best Western Mercedes"
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Reception staff went out of their way to advise us on how to get around the city for cheaper and mapped out routes for us. Room was clean and comfortable. However the wifi was tempromental, as it always cut out and lost connection, sometimes for several hours. Overall I enjoyed my experience with this hotel, was in the perfect location to get to sights and just round the corner from a metro. Would highly recommend.

Dear MelissaBrown 1207, Dear Host, What a great pleasure to read your review when opening up our emails. The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe is delighted to take acknowledge of your feedback and is really touched that you appreciated their assistance in helping you tour the city. I am also really pleased you noticed we propose comfort in your room. I am sorry to read for the wifi but I assume you stayed just before the setting of the fiber optic which is effective since Monday, and offers now a debit that has nothing to deal with the previous wifi ! We would be honored to welcome you again for your next occasion to visit Paris and remain at your disposal to do so. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Nice Location But Needs Major Updates"
The location of this hotel seems very safe and fairly quiet compared to other parts of downtown Paris. However, the hotel is pretty run down. The bed and bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. The shower head was very good, too. But, that's about all I can give for positives. There was no shower curtain or fan in the bathroom. It's very difficult to shower without getting a huge puddle of water on the floor, afterwards. The bathroom floor is tiled and I slipped, as a result. Not impressed. The bedside table drawers' were broken. The sheers and drapes in our room were ratty and old. The blow dryer in the bathroom was so old that you have to hold your hand on the bottom in order to keep it on. It took forever to dry my hair. Wi-Fi is included but good luck trying to use it. The signal was fair to no signal at all. Then there is the ancient single person, if you're not obese, elevator. All in all, I was not at all impressed with this hotel and never plan to return. I have no idea why it's been given 4 star ratings on TripAdvisor. I give it a 1-2 star rating.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Ms. McLean, Dear Host, We would like first to thank you for booking and staying to our hotel. Meanwhile, we feel sorry for not meeting your attempts. I remain at your entire disposal to discuss about your stay, since we have a few questionnings, for instance, we don't understand the bathtub issue (all rooms have a bath door) and all the rooms with showers also have a door. Also, we've been now having the chance to offer the fiber optic in the entire hotel for a week (as the result the incoming debit is really powerful, about 4 times more efficient than the wifi that is still the rule for main hotels in Paris). A lot of positive tests in all rooms were made last week so I am very surprised to read you lost the signal. I agree some drapes and sheers need an update in some rooms, and we're doing so in mid-July (the furbishment is indeed not brand new but not old, and it is because of a daily use that it spoils). If the 4-star ranking is obtained is certainly because it is your right to not like the hotel whereas it is not the opinion of the great majority of our hosts. I also consider the great devotion of our team, and the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, can be felt by our hosts. We are sorry to read you won't give us a chance to propose you a better experience, but as mentionned above, I remain at your disposal. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great value for money. Spotless and comfortable in a quiet part of Paris."
We got a great offer and the hotel room was excellent - comfortable and well-furnished. Once you know the location is a bit out of the centre and know the excellent metro connections via Wagram or RER at Le Pereire, then the location is great for giving you a real feel of real Paris without all the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Sheilan47, Dear Host, The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself would like to thank you very much for your very kind words you've left after your stay. We are really delighted to read we managed to offer the comfort you were looking for in your room. To me, you also perfectly write about the location around us, which is indeed apart from the rush, while being closed to main sites. We would be honored to welcome you again, and remain at your entire disposal to organize a future stay. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Adequate "
Ticks all the boxes although could do with a hotel bar, but that's just a personal preference. The hotel is located centrally, with a bit of a walk to the Eiffel Tower. All said, it was clean, with good staff, and had a good offering. What you would expect from a Best Western.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Seoirse1983, Thank you very much for staying to the hotel, and leaving us your feedback after. It was a real pleasure to welcome you, and the team is delighted to read you enjoyed the service and the comfort. I do agree with the bar, we've been currently working on a new formula to reopen it. We hope to welcome you again. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING"
Location is the only thing this hotel has in its favor. The room and amenities are very poor. Housekeeping attended the room daily but did not supply coffee every day and the WiFi is the worst, very low bandwidth and you can only check emails, any other computer needs and the WiFi will not support your needs. DISAPPOINTING to say the least. This is not what you would expect from a Best Western hotel, but it is what you would expect if you were spending $49 a night in any city in the U.S.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, We would like most of all to thank you for staying with us. We are really sorry to read we did not meet your attempts. It is our goal, and that is why we consider your review with a lot of attention, as the team here is made of members who really love what they do for our hosts. I remain then at your entire disposal to understand why you had this feeling of "poor" amenities as we do not offer a standard line, and bring a Nespresso machine in each of our rooms, which is an extra value really rare in 4-star hotels. It is true indeed we were not able to deliver free nespresso caps everyday on the recent period, as you may know that we unfortunately suffer in France from the lack of petrol delivery (because of strikes) that unables our suppliers to bring all items for a week now. I am more surprised with the Wifi as a precise test made by our supplier does not show any strong issue for the 7 last days, but on a contrary, a better debit as we recently improved our offer. Maybe we were not able to help you to restart the network on your devices ? Once again, I remain at your entire disposal to see how we can propose you a better experience , and a second stay which would be definitely a succesful experience. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Good location"
We spend 3 night in this hotel last week and although I usually prefer modern hotels this hotel was good and clean with a good shower and wifi connection. Wagram metro stop and supermarkets close by were handy and loved the bistro over the road called Le Bouquet de Wagram. Our main bad points where that we felt that the hotel lacked a bar/café somewhere to sit and get a drink as we arrived on a Sunday and the Monday was a bank holiday so nothing close by was open. Our bathroom door handle was too close to the frame so kept trapping my fingers and hand, also I was allergic to what the bedding/towels were washed in so found that a bit uncomfortable. Overall we would give this small hotel 7/10
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, The entire team of the hotel thanks you for staying with us. We thank you for all remarks you've written and are pleased to read you did notice the comfort we aim to bring every single day. On the other side, I was sorry to read you were disappointed with linens and towels, as they are recent and normally give entire satisfaction. It is true we've got the chance to be surrounded by very nice bistrots, restaurants, and that is one of the reasons why our Bar is (so far) no longer open, because of the offer almost next door. But meanwhile we've been currently working on an original project of honesty bar that fits the Art Déco identity of the hotel. Looking forward to welcoming you again, Best Regards, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Internet failure cost us 500 pounds"
On arrival we had to wait 20 mins since room not ready. Wardrobes not big enough. When room serviced only given two bath towels no hand towelsor bath mat so quite dangerous. However our main issue was that we booked this hotel on the understanding it had unlimited internet since my husband would need to work . On the Wednesday evening during a vital aspect of his work the internet repeatedly dropped out . This meant he had to keep going to reception who gave a number of unconvincinging exscuses. Evently they had to contact the providers who reset the router for the whole building. Consequently during that down time my husband lost 500pounds. This was suposed to be my birthday treat. It ruined it. If you need to use the internet ,be aware, that until this hotel fixes this issue, which the staff are fully aware of since the router continued to drop out for the rest of the trip ,despite provider attempting to fix the issue ,use another hotel.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, We would like first to thank you very much for staying with us. We are in the mean time very sorry to read your disappointment, as our goal is to manage to make you feel home into our hotel , thanks to a devoted and very professionnal team. Indeed, we were surprised to read you were disappointed with the wait upon your arrival, as checking in is normally at 2pm. You arrived earlier, and we always try to let you enter your room before, but that was not possible that day as were fully booked on the previous night. Also, I take good note of your remark about wardrobes, please note we changed them quite recently as our usual hosts mainly asked for shorter ones a few months ago... I was really concerned about the issues you had with the wifi. It was really a deception for me to read you had those problems as we recently very significantly improved the debit / upload on all hotspots, and we are currently being installing the fiber optic in the entire hotel. Most of all, I was informed the Deputy Hotel Manager personnally moved a few times to the floor you were in tocheck the hotspot, and it appears on the audit we'ved asked to the supplier that the debit was fine after our Deputy Manager restarted the hotspot. We do welcome a lot of corporate guests ans that is why we are always reactive by trying to solve the problem on our own and always call also the supplier to advise them , which is exactly what we did. For any further information I invite you to call or email me in order to fully understand what exactly happened as it is so far a bit confused to me. My goal is to see how we can propose you another experience that would be clearly more adequate with the quality of service you were waiting for, and that we normally deliver. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Lovely small hotel"
We stayed in Room 10 which is on the ground floor and the entrance to the room was through a tiny corridor, felt like Harry Potters under the stairs bedroom. The room was lovely, clean although small. Bit noisy in the night as we seemed to hear every noise in the entire hotel. Would recommend asking for a higher floor where it should be a little quieter. Great location, only 15-20 minutes walk to Arc De Triomphe and Champs Ellysees. Staff were so helpful and spoke perfect english.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host It was a real pleasure to welcome you , and read your review. Indeed, the room 10 is really specific as the room is so cosy ! Meanwhile, it is definitely not the biggest one , and we definitely could have proposed you another room during your stay if you wished so. Thank you very much for your words about the team, please be assured I have passed on your very kind review to them. We sincerely hope to welcome you again. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"You can not go wrong: Art Deco hotel with very helpful staff, reasonably priced, close to Arc de Triomphe"
Location, location, location: close to Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe and other key places. Across the street, there is a little restaurant with great food and reasonable prices. On the other side of the street, the pleasant smell of espresso coffee, pastries and bagettes will bring you in...Do not forget to sample the macaroons.... Thanks Mohamed for your assistance.

"Nice hotel in central Paris"
This is a nice hotel in central Paris, it is a 15 minute walk from the arc de triomphe and only a 2 minute walk away from the nearest metro. The hotel itself is quite small and the room are on the small side. This was perfectly adequate for us as we were not in the hotel much apart from to sleep and shower. The wifi was excellent and the rooms were clean and nice coffee provided. The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall this is a nice hotel in the centre of Paris.

"An Amazing visit, Polite & Helpful staff & Exemplary Service! Made our holiday Absolument parfait!"
A beautiful Hotel, with a good atmosphere & pleasant, helpful staff. Every time we came to the lift staff would always let us go first with a smile; The man working the reception in the evenings even stopped us one night to warn us of traffic in case we were catching a plane home (we weren't, but it was nice of him to warn the guests). Staff minded the Do not Disturb signs, which we kept on our door as we are private people; yet they did phone our room to see if we needed anything. Which was helpful as we did, but were too shy & English to ask!! The Room was perfect, sound proofed & well insulated. (it was very warm even though the weather wasn't too good!) We were provided with plenty of towels & complimentary Tea (which I was so grateful for the first morning, Thank you!!) - After that we got our own tea & milk from a nearby Supermache (We stored the milk in the mini fridge which wasn't too cold so this was only good for the four days we were there luckily - try & find UHT in the shops if you're British & want Tea with milk!) - the Hotel only provided two complimentary tea bags, but it was good Tea! - The Hotel is in such a great area for shopping! Right near the Metro, there's a beautiful Patisserie Chocolatier & Bistro: Le Bouquet De Wagram with amazingly generous helpings of amazing food (I recommend the chicken club!) just across the street! (There was also a tiny Grocers which seemed open all hours of the night when we got off the Metro off an evening!) - All of this is cheaper than the Hotel food bear in mind & is just across the road, so very accessible!! This Hotel is worth it for the location, Staff and Comfort! Thank you again to all the Staff! We will definitely stay again in the future at one of your many, well placed Hotels! :)

"Very bad experience"
Stayed one night for a business trip this month. Bad review for the following: 1. Wifi / unprofessional and incompetent reception (night manager). wifi in my room was not working. had to come down to reception and back up to my room at least 3 times taking all my devices with me so to allow the night manager to take a look which ended up being a total waste of time. Kept on telling me to turn it off and back on and during the whole time he was supposed to be fixing he would stop and cater to people checking in and out. His whole demeanor and attitude was of disinterest and annoyance at having his peaceful idling time being interrupted by me I think. Had to write one single email before going to sleep and ended up sending it close to midnight (came back from dinner and found out about the wifi prob at around 10pm). 2. Asked for an iron and an ironing board before going to sleep. Was going to need it early in the next morning. Next morning slept okay shower okay breakfast okay (the waiter was very polite and helpful unlike the one in reception). Fill up the iron with water and about to do some ironing and found out the machine broken, all the signs on the dial illegible etc. Took it down to the reception and the night manager goes back in the storage room brings out an almost brand new iron. Why did he not give this to me in the first place? Most def felt he was getting back at me for asking him to help the wifi and disturbing him late at night. Caught him talking to some south asian tourists who were staying there and saw a pattern between how he was treating them and myself (I'm asian) and whilst I wouldn't say so in so many words there was something def discriminatory in his behavior and attitude. Left a very bad taste in my mouth as I checked out and left the hotel. All you fellow asians out there. don't stay in this sxxt hole.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host We've been very concerned by the reading of the review, and we cannot understand what apparently happened with the night receptionnist who insists on never behaving like you've described. Indeed it does not correspond at all to his usual behaviour. Instead of answering something not useful for you, I rather invite you to contact me directly at the hotel (and for instance give me your number in return) in order to understand more precisely and propose you and adequate answer. "Short break for romantic Paris weekend visit"
We were looking for a nice but not hugely expensive venue in what is a pricey city to stay in. The Mercedes was our choice and we were happy with the stay. The location is a fair way out of town and requires you to use the metro to get to it (it would be a 40 minute walk into town centre. The room we had was quite compact, the décor was quite dark with wood panelling . there was a very small balcony and there was only a shower (no bath) but otherwise the facilities were OK, if not amazing for 4 star. There was a very good flat screen TV but very little English-speaking channels. The lift was typical Parisian hotel - a tiny one which would barely fit 3 people. Breakfast was not included and was to my mind expensive. We found an excellent restaurant in the nearby locality (The Grand Bistro ) . The reception staff were helpful and spoke reasonable English.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host It's been a great pleasure for us to welcome you. We are pleased to inform you we do have rooms with bath, as in Deluxe Rooms or Suites. Meanwhile, we are pleased to read you've noticed our brand new flat Tv's and the professionnalism of our reception team. Indeed the mid centre in Paris is about 25 minutes by metro, as we are mainly closed to the Champs-Elysées, and not Notre Dame or the "Hôtel de Ville". We would be pleased to welcome you again. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Art Deco hotel"
Just spent 6 days here. Reception.. Very helpful, friendly and speak excellent English. We were upgraded to Superior room(230).. Looked out over the crossroad.. Bistro one side, bakery another and florist on another.. Wonderful just looking out and experiencing Paris. Location.. Wonderful .. 10 min walk from Arc De Triomphe and Champs Ellyssess . The street is full of bistros, brassieres .. Breakfast.. I suppose it's adequate.. Some would debate whether it's worth 15 euros.. The waiter is a wee gem. Facilities... Expresso machine in room, rooms cleaned daily, Not that it bothered us but there's no bar here. All in all would not hesitate to revisit if back in Paris.

"Three night stay"
Great hotel in an excellent location, 20 minutes from the Arc and a 200 metre walk to the metro. The size of the room was a surprise by Paris standards, it was clean and warm with good facilities. Didn't have breakfast, we took it over the road in a cafe. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful regarding taxi's and baggage storage. Would stay again on a return to Paris.

"Lovely Location, Lovely Staff - Highly Recommended"
We found this fantastic hotel through Lastminute.com when we were booking a romantic getaway in Paris over the Easter Weekend. We arrived at the hotel in good time from Gare du Nord, which is conveniently located close to the "Wagram" Metro stop. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted at Reception and were taken through the check-in process. We asked about the possibility of upgrading our room to a Deluxe, and we requested this because the beds were advertised as slightly bigger, certainly a must for anyone who is 6'7" tall! After being shown the differences of the two rooms, we completed check-in and were personally taken to the room. The hotel is filled with Parisian charm and has a lot of character, the stairs run round the lift in a U-Shape and each floor is well lit. We found our room, 230, and were pleasantly surprised by the space, in-room facilities and the spacious bathroom. The bed was comfortable and both my fiancé and I slept very well throughout our stay. The window in the room overlooked a beautiful Parisian street scene, along the Avenue de Wagram away from the Arc de Triomphe. There was a lovely patisserie opposite the hotel, which we regularly frequented for both breakfast and mid-afternoon snacks. The bathroom was stocked with L'Occitane hair and body care products - which was very handy as we had left the shampoo and conditioner at home. The shower was powerful and the bathroom felt very spacious. There was only one English TV channel, CNN, but there is free Wifi, so if you have an iPhone, iPad or laptop with you, tune into Netflix or Amazon Prime and there is sufficient bandwidth to stream TV and films live - we opted for this when we were having some downtime between adventures in Paris. The rooms are fitted with Nespresso machines, a lovely touch and yes, the coffee was fantastic to enjoy. The room also contains a fully stocked mini-bar, which we thought was competitively priced for a hotel. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe, from there we could easily get to the Champs-Élysées, Tour Eiffel and the centre of Paris. If you don't fancy walking everywhere as we did, you can navigate easily around the city by Metro. The only one thing this hotel could improve upon is the TV provision - offering a few more English channels may be advantageous, but again - this really wasn't an issue because of the free wifi. Top hotel - we are already planning our return to Paris and the Hotel Mercedes.

Dear Soton-Mike 80, The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself would like to thank you very, very sincerely for these kind words. We could not be more happy to read that you've fully enjoyed your stay. We feel also grateful for reading you've noticed a lot of details we've brought recently with the wish to offer the best comfort possible in our rooms, such as our recent beds , and extras as the Nespresso Machine at disposal. I am glad to read our fantastic team did not hesitate to make you visit a Deluxe Room. It is definitely true that these Rooms offer a large size, rare for similar 4-star hotels in Paris. Now it is your room ! It is a pleasure also to read you've noticed the identity of the hotel. The hotel is a unique constuction in Paris, with this facade heading like a boat on the Avenue. The hotel was built in 1928 by the architect Pierre Patou, who was the French reference in Art Déco. The location is indeed ideal, with rooms overlooking a large and quiet part of the Avenue de Wagram. It is true indeed we used to offer CNN only, but now with brand new smart TV that were set in all our rooms last Friday (with very large screens), I've got the pleasure to let you know we extended the TV offer. Also, I've got the pleasure to inform you that apart from our free WIFI, we'll be able to propose the fiber optic within the next 7 weeks, which remains so far rare for 4-star hotels in Paris. We were definitely working on improving our internet connexion over the last months, and we wanted to let you know, especially as you offered us the pleasure to inform us you will be coming back. Do not hesitate a second then to contact us directly when you'll plan your next visit in order to propose the best offer. Have a great day. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"4 star hotel?"
Despite the 4 star designation this is little more than a 2 star hotel. No restaurant, no lounge, no bar and the breakfast room is little more than a cubby hole in the basement. The so-called luxury room I paid for was excessively cold. The price was quite reasonable, the hotel conveniently located but it dot live up to its promises.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, We wanted to thank you first for staying with us, and also for taking time to leave a comment, despite the fact we were disappointed when reading it. We are making hard efforts here to bring the best comfort , so naturally we would have rather prefer to satisfy you. We also know it is impossibe to meet the attempts of everybody, and I have to say your judgment is of course based on an opinion that belongs to you but has nothing to deal with the classification of the hotel which is indeed 4-star. Once again, it is a question of feeling and probably you were more looking for a design hotel or even a 5-star hotel rather than a patrimonial one. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Ideal "
We chose this hotel as it is ideally located next to a station and near the arc de triumph. The room and the hotel itself was great and well decorated with a lot of beautiful art work. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the breakfast it was rather expensive for what you get for €7 for a small drink and two croissants. But other than that I would recommend coming here if you visit Paris!
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Jessicalee2312, Dear Host, You left us this very nice feedback , for which we are very grateful. We are very happy to read the comfort and the design of your room pleased you. It is true the Mercedes Arc de Triomphe is ideally located, close to the Champs-Elysées and is also located on very quiet part of the Avenue de Wagram in the mean time. Concerning the breakfast, there must have been a wrong explanation that was given to you here, and I am sorry for that, as the Express formula offers a fresh juice, a hot drink, 2 croissants, and also 2 breads, with butter and jams. (and this formula is particularly attractive compared for instance to the typical "café / croissant" to be found in the Parisian bistrots for more or less 7 euros). We would be definitely honored to welcome you again. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Quaint bijoux hotel"
We went to this hotel on a "secret hotel" basis where you get told where you are what star your hotel is but not the name. From time of our arrival we were treated extremely well. It is a small hotel and very "art noveau". We had a room in the first floor so it was easy to use the stairs, there is a small lift to other floors. The room was of ample size with a mini fridge containing drinks to buy a coffee making machine with free coffee, a safe which was free to use, plenty of drawer space, a hanging space and a good size bed.. The bathroom was a nice size with a bath and shower over the bath, just be careful as the floor does get rather wet from the shower. Towels were changed everyday and the room was cleaned. It is an ideal position to be in as its a 10 minute walk from the "arc de Triomphe " and just around the corner from a metro station. The breakfast was ok, at 15 euros per person, you could have scrambled egg, bacon, sausage a variety of mini pastries, yoghurt, fruit juice, cereals, boiled egg ( that you have to time yourself) a toaster and coffee machine. It was very nice but after the 3rd day one did fancy something different. The staff were friendly enough especially the lady on the front desk and the guy at breakfast who could not do enough for you. If I went to Paris again I would definitely use the hotel again if the price was right .

Dear Andy C, I would not be able to express how much we were delighted by reading your feedback. I have passed on your very kind words to our wonderful team, especially to the reception and to our server. In the mean time I've got the pleasure to inform you we added to our breakfast salmon, new yoghurts (biological offer), refined teas (Damman) , crepes... still for 15 €. The Mercedes is indeed a typical Art Deco hotel who was built by the french Architect Pierre Patou who's the reference in this architecture (hotel was built in 1928, stained glasses to be found in the breakfast room were made by Jacques Guebler who also designed the coupole of the Galeries Lafayette). All rooms offer new beds, new TV's within a week, and fiber optic for a better network in all rooms. Our houseekeeping is also making hard efforts everyday to propose the best comfort. We would be very happy to welcome you again at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe ! Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Perfect base for the Rugby"
We stayed here for two nights and had a lovely (small) room. To tired in the mornings to make it down for breakfast. Close to a Metro station to get us to Stade De France. Would definitely use again. Really well appointed room with coffee maker, safe, nice TV etc

Dear "Robert S", Dear Host, The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself would like to thank you very much for first staying to our hotel and also for leaving such a nice feedback. We feel delighted to read you enjoyed your stay. It will be definitely a pleasure to welcome you again. I've got the pleasure to inform you we'll be receiving brand new smart flat TV's on next March 31st in all rooms , and fiber optic instead of wifi within a few weeks. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Hotel for a long weekend"
I recently stayed here with a friend for three nights. We both found the hotel to be a real delight. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, the rooms well furnished and of a high standard and location outstanding. It really was excellent value for money. It was easy enough to get to from CDG taking about an hour on the RER and metro for the grand total of €10. The hotel is well situated as in the fact that we were able to see a lot of attractions through a combination of walking and use of the metro. There is an absolutely fantastic restaurant around the corner called Le Petit Villiers. Cannot recommend it enough if staying at the Mercedes. Would definitely stay at this wonderful hotel next time we are in Paris.

Dear "Skol_Super", Dear Host, What a pleasure opening our emails this morning and reading your feedback after your stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. We are delighted to read you enjoyed the comfort of the hotel, and of your room (new smart TV and optic fiber for internet coming very soon by the way !). I have also passed on your very kind words to our wonderful team. Indeed , I am not surprised to read your feedback about "Le Petit Villiers", as it is such a nice adress around the corner. We are more than happy to read you plan to come back on your next occasion to visit Paris, do not hesitate then to contact us directly for organising your future stay ! "Smart little hotel"
This is a small hotel with a BIG heart. The staff, from manager to chamber maids were wonderful..professional and helpful through out our stay. We were upgraded which was nice but the guests next door that came back at 3am where inconsiderate shouting at each other and shouting once in their room slamming doors. This was not the hotels fault but just one of those things, come back here, yes we would. The bathroom or rather the bath with shower was awkward as when we showered we covered the floor with water but no problem to throw towels down and collect fresh ones.It simply was an awkward bath as the screen didn't cover the shower area. This is a small hotel more boutique style but very friendly. Really close to the metro 15 minute walk to the arc de triomphe and the shops, we came by euro star and bought the metro tickets on board which saved time. For our 3 day stay we used the metro 10 each, so buy a book of 10 it saves time. Choose where you stop for coffee as we felt we were ripped off a couple of times, 10 euro for 2 coffees, we don,t pay that in London......Look at menu first.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear "Teym", Dear Host, I cannot express enough words to tell you how much we were really touched by your kind words. We do all welcome here with passion, and I do remember you during your stay. I am meanwhile sorry for the flooding as we should have intervened very quickly - do not hesitate to advise us , our technician is here often during the week and can intervene in case of emergency. The Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe is indeed a small boutique hotel with the aim of keeeping this typical Art Déco identity (the hotel was built in 1928 by the french Art déco master Pierre Patou, with this unique "Paquebot" building). We would be very delighted to welcome you once again on your next occasion to visit Paris. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Je t'aime Paris"
Best Western Hotel Mercedes is a fantastic Hotel! The service was brilliant, when we checked in the receptionist was very friendly. Although I booked a classic room which comes with either shower or bath, i wanted a room with both and she offered me a room with bathroom & shower without hesitation. The room was very nice, clean and fairly spacious. The hotel has a great location, it is nearby the Arce De Triomph (15-20min walk). Me and my wife enjoyed romantic walks to the Arce De Triomph whilst trying local bars/restaurants. It is located right by Wagram Metro which can get you anywhere you want in the city, dont use taxis, they rip you off. Wish i had used the metros initially, but nonetheless, did not ruin the experience. There is a lovely bar and pastry shop located within a few steps of the hotel. I highly recommend the hotel for couples, and ofcourse everyone else. Thanks for making our second time in paris so memorable and enjoyable!

Dear "Kal B", Dear Host, What a great pleasure to read your comment after your stay. I have passed on your very kind words to the team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. They thank you for sharing this feedback about their service, their attitude. They were touched ! I am very pleased also to read you enjoyed the comfort and the size of your room. To me, I completely agree with you : the Hotel is close to the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, on this beautiful avenue de Wagram, while not being too close, on a quiet part of the Avenue. Do not thank us, we thank you for staying with us, and hope to have this pleasure again to welcome you on your next occasion to visit Paris. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great hotel, careful of the taxis (ouch)"
Could not find fault, with the hotel, lovely room, good breakfast (bed and breakfast rate), friendly attentive staff willing to help, was a bit cold in room, but you have control of temperature so easily resolved. Nice quiet location, short distance away from tourist hotspots, would strongly recommend using the metro public transport, unless you pre book a taxi with the hotel, otherwise they overcharge an extreme amount, be wary of taxi scouts outside of stations and airports they will physically drag you to the taxis, and charge you for the "honour", then you also have the taxi fare. Metro gets you throughout the city easily, single fare tickets one way costs €1.80 even if it's 2 train changes its better then an €80 taxi fare 5 km.

Dear Host, Dear "JamesAllen90", The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe and myself infinitely thank you for sharing this review after your stay with us. We felt delighted to read all your words, and were most of all very happy to read we managed to make your stay an excellent one. I am sure you've managed to see our team is devoted and sincere in bringing quality of service everyday. You are perfectly right with desribing the taxis practices. We are currently being working on a new solution for Inside Paris and the airports with a Young company proposing private drivers with a fixed amount, and less expansive. We look forward to welcoming you again. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great stay"
Fab location, walking distance from arc de triomphe and champs elysees! Metro nearby was very convenient. Staff nice and maids were very friendly. Room was lovely, we arrived and the room we had originally been given was being cleaned so we were upgraded to a slightly bigger room which was wonderful. Wouldn't have been quite so happy with the smaller one, but both were nice, and very homely. Really enjoyed our stay.

We really hope to have the chance to welcome you again on your next occasion to visit Paris. Kind Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Nice style, comfortable rooms"
This hotel is in a residential area, but in a great position to walk to the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Élysées and further if you feel like it. We went with friends and took the opportunity to walk through the lovely gardens of the Promenade Pereire, to Relais de Venise. If not up to walking, the Metro is just around the corner and all the sights are just a ride or two away. The Art Deco style of the hotel matches the beautiful old Metro signs and is very photogenic. Inside, this corner building is compact and the small lift is a squeeze so be prepared to use the stairs to save time. The rooms are small too, but with a comfortable bed, a Juliet balcony and a good working shower, it was fine for us, for a short stay, as we prefer to spend time out seeing the sights. Our friends room had a separate bath, whereas we only had a walk in showert, so ask if you would want one.

Dear Host We first thank you very much for sharing your feedback after your stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. We feel really happy to read your stay seemed to be so enjoyable, with the hotel being in an ideal location, close to the Champs-Elysées. We are also of course happy to read you enjoyed your rooms in this typical and unique Art Déco hotel, built in 1928 by the most famous french Art Déco designer, Jacques Grüber, with stained glasses designed by the same person who made the dome of the Galeries Lafayette. We would have been pleased to propose you a Deluxe Room with bath, instead of the Classic with the shower, but we duly hope you wish to come back in order to propose you an even better experience. Kind Regards, Guillaume MARCHAND Hotel Manager
"Great Price, Great Staff, Great Hotel"
I've just returned from a 2 night stay here. I took my 70yr old mother to Paris for the first time. I wanted somewhere as a good base, easy to get around the main sights of Paris. The Best Western did not disappoint. We had a lovely room (quite big by Paris standards) on the 6th floor (there's a lift) with a balcony. A huge bathroom & a very comfy bed. It's 3 mins away from Wagram metro & about a 20min walk to the Arc de Triomphe. The staff were incredibly helpful & friendly especially Florian who was lovely & welcoming! Basically this hotel has everything you need for a great stay in Paris at a reasonable price. I highly recommend.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host The entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe deeply thank you for such a nice review that really touched us. We could not be more happy to read your stay in Paris and at the Mercedes was a success , and now a good memory. Indeed , your room on the 6th floor , as the other Deluxe Rooms, are bigger than the parisian standards require. We also wanted to keep this typical Art déco style while bringing new mattresses , new beds, and more than all, the kindness of our devoted and sincere team. The best honor for us would be to welcome you again ! Kindest Regards, Guillaume MARCHAND, Hotel Manager
"Nice area"

"Nice location and reasonable price"
Location is close to metro making it easy to get around the city. It is a quick walk to the Arch de Triumph. There are a couple restaurants and bakeries close by but not too crowded like other tourist areas in the city. The staff were friendly, room a good size, not that we spent much time in room.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Guest "Merci beaucoup" from the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe for staying. We were pleased to read your stay was a success. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"booked as a package"
We booked this as part of a package deal and went for this hotel as it appeared to have bathrooms, however when we got there the room we had been allocated had a shower(not shown on website) we were offered an alternative on the ground floor (room 10) which was quite petite and cosy but seemed ok, issue was that its right above the delivery gate and they seem to deliver at 4am, apart fom that it all appeared to be good, decor was ok, clean and well presented. Its a 15 minute walk from the arc de triomphe so its not too far out. Will return but will book direct.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, What a pleasure reading you review after your stay with us at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. We are really delighted if the Mercedes was great part of the success of your stay in Paris. We could also propose you another an alternative room next time, such as our Superior Rooms on higher floors, or eventually the Duplex Suite, unique in Paris, on the 7th floor. It would be a great pleasure to organize your next stay by directly contacting us. Kind Regards, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Alright but I exected more."
I liked it, the services were alright, the price was a little high but I guess it's because of the location (in the center of Paris) the breakfast was okay, even if didn't blow my mind. The hotel presents a very retro vibe, which can appear either vintage and cool, or creepy. The front desk took a while assigning us in the type of room, though, and the elevator is so tiny, but that's normal in France , I guess.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host We thank you first for taking time to review after your stay. Comparing to other main areas of Paris, we do propose attractive rates while being close to the Champs-Elysées. Also I do confirm the Mercedes has a strong identity with the Art Deco theme , the building was indeed originally created by the Art Deco architect of reference (Pierre Patou) in 1928. I noticed your remark about the reception but maybe the time spent was about proposing you a Superior room. The elevator is indeed not the biggest one to be found but because once again of the historical identity of the hotel. We would be very pleased to welcome you again. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Weekend in paris"
It was a really good place to stay the staff were friendly and really helpful. The room was immaculate and had everything you'd need. It was situated in the best place. So we were never more than 20 minutes via the metro to get to any of the sites.

Dear Host On behalf of the entire team of the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe, many thanks for reviewing after your stay with us. I have passed on your kind words to our great team. "Comfortable and conveniently located"
We got a good deal on Booking.com and saw great reviews so booked this for the one night in Paris- we were not disappointed. The room is tiny (as expected in Paris) but very comfortable. The nespresso machine in the room was very useful! The reception staff was veyr accomodating and let us check in at 10am, way ahead of the specified check-in time. We were expecting it to be closer to Arc de triumphe, but it was still walkable and served our purpose. The Wagram metro station is right outside and served us well.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host, What a pleasure opening my emails and reading your review after your stay. We feel honored you made your decision for your parisian stay after reading reviews about our hotel. Most of all, I feel delighted if our devoted team helped making your stay a memorable and comfortable one. I am also happy to read you did notice the care provided to our rooms (all rooms offer new beds for a few months now) and a few details such as a full Nespresso machine amenity. We are indeed not that close to the Arc de Triumphe (15-20 minutes), but we've got the chance to offer the hotel to be walkable to the Arc de Triomphe straight ahead when you exit the hotel, and on a most quiet side of the avenue de Wagram than just near the monument. We are definitely looking forward to welcoming you again ! Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Small hotel good price good staff"
Nice locality near metro station. Got good help from staff for my babies food n warm water etc. Not lavish hotel but good hotel at reasonable price. 20.min walk to arc de trioumph. Enjoyed 4 days stay there

"Great little hotel, good value, lovely staff, well positioned!"
We based our choice of this hotel on a combination of quality, price and previous reviews. I loved the art deco style decor and the old fashioned style (fully functional) lift really adds a nice touch. We really only used to room at night as we were out sight seeing most of the time, but it was clean, comfy, and well supplied with refreshments and toiletries etc. Checking in and out was super simple and the staff were helpful and attentive without being intrusive. We would definitely consider going back to this hotel when we go back to Paris. If you stay here, try the macarons and the pastries at the little bakery on the opposite corner!

Dear Niki ,Dear Host, What a great pleasure opening our reviewing page and reading your words after your stay with us. I have passed on your very kind words to them. We definitely hope to welcome you again at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. It will be a sincere pleasure to welcome you again in your new Parisian adress ! Sincerely yours Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Relatively short walk to Arc de Triomphe"
We stayed here October 19-22, 2015. We walked from Arc de Triomphe which took only about 15 minutes. The Best Western Hotel Mercedes was a terrifically clean hotel with great staff. The gent at the front desk spoke English, though preferred we try to speak French first (fair enough, we were in France!) The King sized bedroom we had was very clean and quiet up on the 3rd floor. The main entrance from the street has about 5 stairs to walk up & there is a small elevator inside to get your luggage to your room. This hotel does serve Breakfast for about 19 Euro but across the street is a lovely, lovely restaurant where a breakfast of eggs, fresh french bread and the best cafe au lait for about 10 Euro. There is also a Patisserie on the opposite corner for more elegant items. The Wagram Metro stop is just around the corner, only about a 3 minute walk from the front door. Lastly, there is a church close by with the loveliest church bells that ring about 9am in the morning. Beautiful! We really really enjoyed our stay, at this hotel, here in Paris!

Dear Hosts Thank you so much for reviewing after your stay in last October at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. We were really touched to read the comfort of the rooms, the kindness of our wonderful team, and the hotel in itself responded to your attempts. We would be very pleased to welcome you on your next visit to Paris. Sincerely yours, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Special trip"
Stayed two nights for part of a surprise trip for my wife and we were more than pleased with our stay, staff were polite and courteous and the room was excellent and clean, also in a slightly quieter area, but if you want quiet you dont go to them parts of capital cities, thanks again for a pleasant stay and polite and helpful staff. "Great"
Great hotel, great price, great location. A lot of the local shops/restaurants were shut due to the time of year we went and being a little further out of town. Walking distance to Montmatre/Sacre Coeur. Friendly staff, clean. Bathroom could do with a little TLC but all in all lovely place to stay. Would definitely stay again.

"Hotel with a great location and Brlliant service"
I choose the hotel based on reviews and the price that I was offered and I was not disappointed! We pretty much loved everything about the hotel- the location, staff and the facilities. We were upgraded to a deluxe room. The location is amazing- you are just under 20 mins away from Arc De Triomphe. The area is quite safe as well. We walked from Champs Elysee to the hotel at about 2 in the morning without any issues. In fact, Av. de Wagram was quite busy even at that time of the night. The metro is just round the corner and it is literally, a 2-3 minute walk from the metro station. There is patisserie across the road which is amazing for the price, if you fancy cakes, croissants, various types of breads, etc. There is a super market (similar to a tesco metro) next to the hotel where you can buy any groceries if you want. The rooms are decent size for a Paris hotel. They don't provide a kettle in the room but the staff were happy to provide one, when we asked for it. They do keep a Nespresso coffee machine in the room which was a nice touch. The wifi is really good and was accessible from our room. I guess a lot of reviewers have already mentioned it but the lift can barely accommodate 2 people. We already knew about it but it wasn't an issue for us but It can be an issue for some. All in all would definitely recommend it for the price we paid.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear "Imran 170", Dear Host, We sincerely thank you for taking time to review after your stay with us at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. We could not be more happy to read you chose our hotel based on the reviews, and most of all, that the hotel responded to your expectations. Our team is indeed a great one, and the hotel in itself has this great chance to have an historical identity with its typical facade , intended to be visible as the prow of the boat on the Avenue de Wagram (former architect Pierre Patou). It is also true the location is ideal, while being so close to the Champs Elysées and the mean time on a quiet side of the district. We are really pleased to read you've noticed all these special attentions we want to provide as the Nespresso facilities. Lift is indeed what it is, and the structure of the building does not allow to build a new one. Meanwhile a lot of works have been done on it this year. We would be really delighted to welcome you on your next occasion to come in Paris, do not hesitate then to contact us directly. Sincerely yours, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Excellent Experience"
The hotel was a hit! Good prices, quick service, professional staff!!!! The arc de triomphe and main Avenue Champs Eilyses is at a ten minutes walking distance! The metro is around the corner. Want to buy wine or snacks, there's a wonderful market next door# Ask the locals to recommend you a good one ;) For after hours go around the corner. A cozy convenient store has it all and is open until late...make sure you learn a bit of French though!!! Don't forget to enjoy pan chocolate at the chic bakery across the road!!!! Cheers, wish you a great stay

"Perfect for us"
After arriving from an overnight flight, they allowed us this summer to get a room early in the morning before check in and didn't charge us for an upgraded room. The beds were so comfortable that after returning home my sister was inspired to buy a new mattress! Short walk from the Champs Elysees, great experience!

"Good value for money"
The hotel look a bit cheap from the outside and the lobby is very small and 2-3* level. However the room I stayed in was well decorated and large enough. I had a free upgrade to a luxury room and the staff was very friendly.
GUILLAUME M, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN Hotel Mercedes, responded to this review
Dear Host Thank you for your kind interest in our hotel and for taking some to review after your stay with us. Our rooms have been renewed with modern touches while respecting the Art Déco identity, and all rooms also offer new high standard comfortable beds, which is highly appreciated and we are happy for that. I have passed on your kind words to our great team. I also have the pleasure to inform you our patrimonial and so typical facade will be renovated next spring , on a white and black basis. We look forward to welcoming you again, Kind Regards, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Lovely little hotel"
We spent three nights here recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is exactly what I was expecting. The staff were excellent and were able to recommend good restaurants and attentive to all of our needs. It's location was great, with only a short walk to the Arc de Triumphe. The lovely patisserie across the road was perfect for the walk out in the mornings. The room was good, very clean and has a lovely coffee machine. The only thing that let the room down was a wobbly toilet seat, squeaky bathroom door and very thin walls. I would definitely return to this hotel. Thanks for helping make for a memorable trip.

We are so pleased to read our wonderful and dedicated team managed to respond to your requests and attempts. I have passed on your kind words to them. We indeed intend to bring the best comfort in all rooms with new beds for instance and added values such as the Nespresso Machine, but I'm always concerned if any issue is being forwarded to us, I indeed thank you for your remarks and have the pleasure to inform a quick technical intervention in your room fixed the issue you've mentionned. I am meanwhile sorry for that. We would be very happy to welcome you again, do not hesitate to email us or call us for organising another stay, and I sincerely hope, a new memorable trip. "Great hotel in a good location"
We recently stayed in this pleasant hotel which is well kept, clean and in a perfect location. Only a short 15 minute walk to the Arch de Triomphe and on the same street as Wagram Metro station. Would recommend no complaints.

"Pleasant hotel in a good location for exploring central Paris"
The hotel was pleasant and well kept, with polite and helpful staff. The rooms are on the small side - but this is to be expected in a hotel of this price within central Paris. The hotel was clean and reasonably modern, the beds were comfortable and the L'Occitane toiletries and Nespresso coffee machine in the room were nice luxury touches. The beds were made daily and consumables replenished, and towels changed on request. The location was good, within a 3 minute walk of Wagram metro station, making it an ideal base for exploring Paris. There are plenty of bistros and brasseries nearby, and a bakery/patisserie just over the road (great for breakfast on-the-go). The Champs-Elysees and Arch de Triomphe are also within walking distance. We booked this room through lastminute.com, (£384 pp 4nights inc Eurostar tickets) and I feel that this represented good value for money. I would not, however, have paid the 380 euro rack rate that was detailed within the room.

Dear Host It has been a real pleasure for us to take aknowledge of your feedback after your stay with us at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe,, located in a quiet location but meanwhile close to the Champs Elysées and so mainy other spots. I have passed on your kind words to the entire team, and am proud to read they managed to participate in making your stay a great one. I am also very happy to read you've been sensitive to all these luxury touches we've brought in each of our rooms (plus beds are recent and very comfortable). Also, I fully understand your feeling about the rooms size as I am used to travel overseas, but you have to know our rooms are bigger than the parisian standars require ! That is the reason why we also have a lot of loyal corporate customers who enjoy the hotel for this reason too. Thus, it would be a pleasure to propose you our Superior Rooms on a next stay with us, why not even trying our beautiful Suite on the 7th Floor overlooking the area and the business skyline called "La Défense" ? "Perfect stay"
We booked for my birthday and it turned out to be a perfect location within walking distance of everything and a very handy metro station. Arc de Triomphe is approx 20 min steady walk from the hotel, out of the front door turn left down Avenue de Wagram and just keep going. We were on the 5th floor and room was perfect, beds were fabulous. We could see Arc De Triomphe from our bedroom window looking to the left. I love Art Deco so this hotel was a perfect theme. Out of the hotel and turn right down the side of the hotel to find Le Colissee Wagram restaurant on the left we had a lovely meal, end of the road on the opposite corner is Gabrielle's which was lovely went most nights there for a drink. Across from that is Wagram Metro. Go past Wagram Metro down Avenue de Villiers and you will find Le Petit Villiers Bistro on the left which is amazing. ATM near the Metro station too. It's all so convenient. Breakfast room was lovely, we went B&B and breakfast was great and staff were very helpful. All the reception staff were amazing so very helpful. We had a perfect stay here. Would definitely go back and would recommend it to family and friends.

"Nice room but paper thin walls"
Stayed here recently with my wife for her birthday. Nice little hotel, miniature lifts barely fits two people with cases. Nice clean rooms with mini bar (expensive drinks) and coffee machine (Plenty of coffee hardly enough milk), WiFi wasn't bad and for free. Wouldn't take my extra rubbish, if it didn't fit in the tiny bin they left it, poor service had to dispose of it myself outside in a street bin. One night our next door neighbour decided they didn't want to sleep so made a racket talking, arguing and shouting until 2 in the morning when I had to complain. Took a while for someone to answer the phone. The neighbours were told and then they decided to slam doors waking the rest of the hotel. Ruined our stay had to beg to be moved. Was a better room we moved to until people started getting up at all hours, drawer slamming and banging about. Terrible sound proofing in this hotel needs to be looked at. And also fix those room door closures nearly every door in the hotel slammed shut. Simple maintenance repairs can make a huge difference. So overall not a good stay. Would I go back? No there are better hotels closer to the centre.

Dear Host Thank you very much first for your kind interest in our hotel, and for taking time to review after your stay, meanwhile I was disappointed to read you were not fully satisfied with your stay. Indeed, I do notice you enjoyed the hotel and its style, and from what I can read it is more because of the disturbance caused by noisy guests than our service in itself that the disappointment occurred. I have to say it may be very difficult to intervene when guests do not obviously respect the quietness you are in right to expect, and in your case we did try to make them understand they were causing nuisance in the floor they were occupying. Even with a normal isolation like we do have , it does not prevent all type of sounds especially with some people speaking more than loudly, and I would say not behaving properly. I am indeed sorry even if from our part we did our best to satisfy you, I also inform you that all rooms have been beautified these 7 last days with a huge and intense contribution from our technicial support. We also propose brand new TV offer. I remain at your entire disposal for proposing you a new experience. Kind Regards Guillaume MARCHAND Hotel Manager
"Nice hotel"
The hotel is located about 15min walking from Triumph Arc. There is a subway station very close. There is also a supermarket nearby. The bedroom is roomy (considering Paris' standard rooms, it could be classified as "huge") and the bed very comfortable. Good, hot shower and a tub. Breakfast is not included but it is available for 15 euros if you want to eat at the buffet or 7 euros for 2 croissants and a coffee. There is a nespresso with four free coffee capsules per day inside the room. Fridge supplied with sodas and water. There are 3 bad things, though: you can hear people flushing their toillets all the time; the wifi is really poor and the elevator is really, really tiny. Its door doesn´t close properly at ground floor and someone has to push it from the outside. Sometimes nobody is available to push the door and you have to wait or climb up the stairs. The "jewel" of this hotel is Ms. Tulina, a very friendly and kind lady at the reception desk. She is always smiling and ready to give you tips about the best places to shop, to eat or give directions. Thank you, Ms. Tulina.

Dear Host, Many thanks first for leaving your feedback after your stay with us. We feel grateful to read you enjoyed your room , with the comfort provided (including new beds) and the size also, which is indeed higher than the standards requirements. I did consider your remark about the noise and it is a difficulty to answer this as some guests may cause some unappropriate noise. I am on the other side surprised about the wifi as we receive some tests every day that confirm the speedness, do not hesitate to get back to me with the room number you had. Last, the lift is indeed not the largest one as many hotels in Paris, even some 5-star hotels, it is basically depending if the hotel is a brand new construction or in a building such as ours. We hope to welcome you again. I have passed on your very kind words to our wonderful Tuline. Best Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Great location and hotel"
I booked the hotel as part of a last minute.com deal and I was very pleased. I reserved a room for myself and my husband and a second room for my father in law. We had a private door to our rooms giving us a small but convenient communal hall. The room was lovely and had a great little coffee machine. The bed was comfy and the hotel was quiet. The hotel is central and has a metro station just round the corner called Wagram. There is a great convenience store two doors down and lots of nice restaurants that were in the local area. We stayed for three nights and had a lovely time.

"Surprise Trip to Paris"
My hubby booked the 2 night stay with lastminute.com as a surprise trip for our 10th Anniversary. This was my first trip to France, but wont be the last! We found the hotel easily enough and left our bags so we could explore straight away. Metro just down the road, walking distance to the Arc De Triomphe & Champs Elysees. Loved the area, we were on the 3rd floor and the traffic noise didn't bother us. Room was spacious enough, bed was comfy. We literally were only in the room long enough to sleep! Nice having a coffee machine and decent coffee! Hubby struggled as he doesn't like coffee, and there were only fruit teas in the room. But he went down to reception and they were very accommodating and found him some Breakfast Tea, so he was happy too! Staff were friendly enough, helpful and spoke enough English, when our basic French wasn't quite enough! The only niggle I had was the walls were paper thin, so when our neighbour had a shower (their bathroom backed onto the wall our bed was on), it woke us up, same with TV noise from another room, and I could hear someone snoring! The Pattisserie across the way, which we could see from our window, was delightful and we brought our breakfast from here on the last morning. Just 6 euro, and enough for 2 of us. We also had breakfast 2 mornings at the Bistro across the road from the hotel, which was good. We didn't eat at the hotel as we thought 15 euro each was too much when there are plenty of bistro's on the door step with better prices. We ate dinner both nights at Le Colisée Wagram (which is opposite the Metro Wagram), the service was great, food was nice and not bad prices (13 euro for a steak)! We would stay here again on a deal such as lateminute.com, but wouldn't pay the tariff rate which I believe was 380 euro a night, and that was for our smaller room!!

Dear Host, Dear Donna, Many thanks for leaving us your feedback after your stay at the Best Western Mercedes Arc de Triomphe. My team was so pleased to read we managed to helpmake this special occasion for you in Paris a particular memory, we feel delighted for that. I am sorry meanwhile for the next room with less quietness that one could find. The location is indeed full of very nice bakeries and restaurants such as "Le Colisée Wagram". We do propose Deluxe Rooms and even a Junior Suite, so do not hesitate to ask for , it would be a great pleasure to welcome you back at the Mercedes. Kind Regards, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Good stay, just a shame about honesty. "
Not much bad to say, check in was nice and swift, the location next to the Metro was great and the bakery opposite was something quite special. Unfortunately the stay was marred a little by me accidentally leaving a photo in the room next to my bedside of me and my girlfriend taken in Paris and we left without it. After emailing asking if we could pay to have it sent to us, we've had no response, so unfortunately I'm guessing the photo has been binned. There was no digital copy either. Still, it is what it is. £220 for 5 nights in Paris, in a clean property. Cannot complain, just disappointed with that and it all counts towards the star rating as far as I'm concerned.

Dear Host, Dear Gary T, I first sincerely thank you for leaving your feedback after your stay with us. I was happy to read the hotel and the quality of service responded to your expectations. I was sorry meanwhile to read the remark about the forgotten picture, please be assured I'll investigate that with my team very soon as they always react very quickly for the loss and found. It would be indeed very satsifying for us if we could find back your belonging. We keep you informed. Best regards, Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Nice location just far enough from all the hustle"
Booked a lastminute.com deal, having not stayed in the 17th before wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel was very conveniently located; having been to Paris a fair few times I wasn't bothered about being right in the middle of everything ( in fact preferring the opposite!) we went in August so neighborhood was very quiet which we liked. Walking distance to the arc d'triomph and Montmatre, or a short tube hop from Gare Du Nord / Eifel tower, the location really is easy to navigate. The nearby gardens are lovely and there is a bonus of lots of supermarkets locally as well as the metro on the doorstep. The Staff - super friendly, the room - great AC, decent size, modern decor and big bathroom. I will defiantly stay here again, very happy to find the Mercedes and at a great rate too!

"Very nice !"
My partner took me here on a surprised weekend away for my birthday, the hotel was really unusual with it being art deco, The room was lovely and clean had everything we needed. thankfully had air con as it was very hot in Paris that weekend. The staff were very nice and welcoming, was a little disappointed that there wasn't a restaurant. However it didn't matter too much as there was some lovely restaurants near by. The breakfast was a little confusing but we managed a cuppa, toast and croissants but a little expensive for what we had. There was wifi at the hotel and the was free and easy to access. the lift in the hotel is very small and only big enough for two plus case. The hotel is situated on a pleasant street and only a 20 minute stroll to the beautiful sites of Paris. We had an amazing time :)

We do not have a restaurant indeed, but I really hope our wonderful team managed to propose you the best places around us, near this so beautiful area that is close to the Champs Elysées, while being on a quiet side of the avenue de Wagram. We look forward to welcoming you again ! Best Regards, Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Fine hotel with a great location "
Stayed here when in Paris last year with my daughter. The room was tiny and the hotel was less than charming, but that's not why we were there. It was close to the Arc de Triomphe and the Metro. All in all it suited our needs and the price was fine for what we were doing.

"Below hotel expectation "
We stayed here 4 nights the room was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable but the hotel let me down with some of its basic customer service. The lady in charge of breakfast was rude and did not explain the way breakfast works correctly, she ended up charging us extra (buffet cost, because we took ham) to then let us know they had ran out of food. Very annoyed she took our money to then say 2 mins after they have ran out of food. They also throughout our stay provided us with shampoo (4 tiny bottles of them) because it's all they had! no conditioner, no body wash or cream which was provided to us on our arrival. It's a small matter but i expect them to have stock for the amount of money we paid for our room.

Dear Guest I first thank you for leaving your review, and sorry to read the details of your experience, especially with the Breakfast maid. I can tell you that this person that was new during your stay is not working with us anymore as the service provided is not we were also waiting for. I thus Wonder if you advised the reception, do not hesitate meaning we would have done anything to solve the issue immediately. I am very surprised with the amenities as we do propose 4 products , and can provide extra if needed. I'll then investigate with the Houseekeeper. Do not hesitate to email us directly and ask for me personnally. Kind Regards, Guillaume Marchand, Hotel Manager
"Nice Hotel and enjoyable Stay"
This hotel is in a good location, only a 2 minute walk from Wagram Metro station and in a very quiet area only 20 minutes walk from the Arc De Triomphe and Champs Élysées. Upon arrival we were welcomed and checked in for 2 nights with no fuss or hassle. Our room wasn't ready but we were offered safe-keeping for our bags in a secure room. The lift is indeed small but it made us smile when we used it and it worked perfectly. Room for 2 people and 2 small bags. Our room was excellent. We had room 610 (6th floor) which had a balcony with a nice view of the surrounding streets. The room wasn't huge but that's no problem as we spent minimal time in there. The bathroom is a good size with a good powerful shower. It was all very clean and modern looking. There was no traffic noise or fumes and we slept well on the comfy bed. There is air conditioning in the room too which works well. Of course the TV channels are 99% French, what do you expect ?? We didn't go to Paris to watch TV and football is the same in any language ! The coffee machine is a nice variation on the kettle you usually find in hotel rooms. The safe worked fine as did everything else. The maid knocked on our door to ask if we were ready for it to be cleaned after our first night, no bursting in or anything so dramatic ! All very friendly. The staff were very helpful and when I had issues connecting to the wifi, I asked at Reception and it was sorted straight away. I had an excellent wifi signal in our room. There is a small supermarket next door which stocks everything you could need at good prices as well as plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. We chose this hotel mainly based on the reviews and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We had 3 superb days in Paris and this very good hotel contributed to that. So thank-you, well done and next time we visit Paris we will stay there again.

I then inform you that all our TV's will be proposing 5 languages in total very soon. Also, it is true the location is almost ideal, in a quiet area while being close to the wonderful atmosphere that the Champs-Elysées offer. Do not hesitate to email us directly when you decide of your next stay in Paris. Kindest Regards Guillaume Marchand Hotel Manager
"Lovely hotel in a quiet area"
The hotel is lovely with an Art Deco interior. Rooms are a good size, well presented and very clean. The staff are polite and friendly and this really is a great edition to the hotel. I can't comment on the food there as we didn't eat breakfast there, but the prices seemed reasonable. The beds were comfy, shower was hot and the room was air conditioned. There is free wifi which is always a bonus. The hotel is in a very quiet area located 2 minutes from Wagram metro station, so you can always venture into a more upbeat and touristy area for dinner and come back and sleep in the peace and quiet of this residential area. It's the best of both worlds. It's about a 25 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe. Overall very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend.

"A very cute hotel at the right place for the right amount of money"
We found this hotel to be very cute. We were lucky to get a room to with a balcony. The Art Deco architecture, the drizzling rain, it was just what we needed. The room seemed small but it was very adequate for our needs, including the safe. We really liked the bathroom as well. The man at the reception was a bit curt, but after all, this is Paris, home of the obnoxious and curt if you do not speak French. Location is very nice and convenient.

"immaculate hotel"
We stayed here for 3 nights for our first trip to Paris. The room was spacious and comfortable and the air conditioning was a great extra. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and spoke great English. We asked if they could recommend a good restaurant on the second night and they told us of Le Petit Villiers just around the corner which we had eaten in the previous night and it was so good we ate there all 3 nights. The hotel is in a quieter location than the main hub but only about 20 minutes walk straight up to the Champs Elysees. I would definitely stay here again and if this is the standard of Best Western hotels I would not hesitate to stay in any one.
