"Decent hotel with a bit messy communication"

3
23/08/2018

Pros: - Clean - Kind staff at breakfast time - Good location Cons: - Super small rooms & the room decor is quite poor - Fans / A/C not working well and as a result the room becomes stuffy / super cold - There are private parties organised in the hotel (Thursdays / Fridays) which last till midnight and make it impossible for guests with windows facing the dining area to sleep - Staff at the reception desk passing mixed details. I requested for a takeaway breakfast to be prepared for me as I had to take an early flight. Two receptionists confirmed that I will have it delivered to the room at certain, earlier agreed hour. At the day of my departure I waited for the breakfast at my room, and when it didn't arrive I called the reception. I was told that there was no such agreement and I can come downstairs to the dining area in order to have my breakfast. When I reached the lobby, I was told that 'it will be complicated' to prepare breakfast for me and I can stop by in a shop on my way to the airport to buy breakfast for myself. That was quite a disappointment.

"Fraudulent Hotel - stay away"

06/08/2018

Made a reservation for a stay here, received confirmation from reception over email, and then they hiked up the price from 140/night to 540/night. Absolute bollocks. After addressing this, it was denied, nor was there anyone from management willing to resolve the issue.

"A Surprise"

It was a normal choice of hotel in Paris, but by accident. It is so American than European by name. But I found it is quite modern and at good location to many places and very close to metro. If you like a quiet place in the evening, it is a good place. 15 minuets walk to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and can see some unique shops if you have time.

"Weekend Getaway"

26/06/2018

We had a mix up with our initial hotel and booked BW Liege once in Paris. Anna booked 2 lovely superior rooms for us (next to each other) and treated us like stars. Rooms are large, modern and clean with the feel of a boutique hotel. Location was great. We walked to Montmartre one day and down to Galeries Lafayette the next. The best part was by far the staff at the hotel. Anna, Peter, Jonathan and the manager from the UK (sorry if I misspelled the names) went above and beyond to make sure we we had a great weekend. I highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel. Thanks so much BW Premier Opera Liege Lisa

"Fab Hotel!"

14/05/2018

This is a very nicely appointed hotel in a quiet street in an excellent location about 10 minutes walk from Moulin Rouge. The decor is great, with an excellent bar and lovely courtyard area in the centre of the hotel. The rooms were small (as expected) but we had a very comfortable super king size bed. The sound proofing seemed very good but if you have a courtyard room and want to have your window open you could be disturbed by noise from the courtyard bar area below. The bathroom was lovely with a huge rainfall shower and really nice toiletries. There are excellent bars and restaurants nearby and we had breakfast in 2 of them that was much better value than the hotel. Would definitely stay next time we're in Paris.

Dear Ms Felton, Thank you for your kind comments about The Best Western Premier Opéra Liege. It is a pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again very soon for you to repeat this memorable experience. King Regards, Mehdi Majid

"Surprise free upgrade and well appointed rooms!"

5
03/05/2018

We we given an upgrade to the Duplex Suite when we checked-in which was a nice treat. We had lots of space and it was a good retreat from the cold and wet weather of Paris! They were also very accommodating when we requested to have a later check-out. Staff speak fluent French and English and were always ready to assist. We would definitely consider staying here on our next trip to Paris.

"Nice property in need of some direction . . . ."

22/04/2018

Stayed six nights at this clean, well located and newly renovated hotel. The price for this location was a good value. Breakfast buffet is not included in room rate and not really worth the 20 euro per person charged to your bill. Guests should be informed of additional cost upon check in. It is not publicized in the breakfast room or noted by staff when you are asked for room number. Front desk understood the problem and kindly remitted some the charges - much appreciated as this was mostly our mistake - I guess. Initial room was very tiny (even by Paris standards) hot, stuffy and small window - staff explained that AC /fan does not work (nor did TV) so we needed to keep window open and that we would be moved to different room the next day. Long hot night. Next day packed up and took luggage downstairs to hold for re-assignment. Returned that evening to be told we were "reassigned" to the same room and that promises made previous night were a "mistake". After a bit of "discussion" - the night clerk dug into the computer and relented. We were moved to a larger, well appointed room with three large windows. Much appreciated but that should have been organized before we needed to argue about it. Kept windows open as suggested and this worked well until the final night (a Tuesday) when we were serenaded by a large and rowdy party held in the central courtyard with DJ and bar. DJ quit at 1AM but the party went until 3AM. Long night for everyone. Management needs to remember that this small hotel is built around a central courtyard, that the guests may need to keep windows open until they get the AC working and thus they cannot book that courtyard for late night parties - I don't blame the staff - thats a management issue. Staff was understanding and apologized the next AM as we checked out. Summary - good and clean hotel, excellent location and good value - courteous staff and very accommodating after you complain - shouldn't have to complain that much. Four of our six nights were very nice.

We were travelling with 2 teenagers so booked a suite. It was expensive but worth the $. It had 2 levels, a bed upstairs and downstairs. It was small but expected as in the heart of Paris. Not too far from attractions. VERY clean and staff were polite and helpful. bathroom towels were plentiful. Would recommend!

From the time we arrived at the hotel until check-out, the staff was so very accommodating! Everyone from the front desk clerks, dining room attendants, the bartender (a brand new bar opened the week we were there), and the general manager went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Thanks Mehdi for assisting Phillip and I with our trip from Paris to London via the Eurostar and with arranging the private tour once we arrived in London...it was amazing! Thanks Joel for the fast room service and conversation...you made us feel like we were still at home in our neighborhood. Our room was a little small but that was not a problem since we spent most of our time away from the room anyway except to sleep. The hotel is in a central location with easy access to Champs Elysees Ave. and close to several local cafes and bakeries. We would definitely stay here again! Stanley Williams

Very well situated nearby the liege metro station. The room well equipped with everything you may need: new shower system, coffee corner and an excellent service. The hotel entrance is beautifully decorated. The room is a little bit small, next time I'll ask for a bigger one. The breakfast was fair enough. The staff at the reception was very nice always ready to help, I still remember each one specially "Mehdi" who was very skilled. Sure When I go back to Paris I'll choose this hotel again

"Mixed"

28/02/2018

I stayed here 3 nights this week for business. I have mixed filings about this place on the one hand it's fully renovated with good looking rooms and good breakfast on the other hand quality of Service was not what I expected to say the least. This is a very laid back hotel which is fine but they need to work on their service Rooms are tiny but that goes with the Teritory when in Paris. My room on the first floor was right over the bar which was very noisy. On and all not a bad Hotel with a good location

"The staff made this 5*"

5
26/02/2018

When I originally booked this hotel it was a 5 star but was recently downgraded to a 4* this worried me before arrival. My expectations where not high as this was a city centre Paris hotel how wrong I was. Beautifully restored building with a breathtaking entrance. The only few points I would mark them down for is the breakfast for €25 Euro per person you're offering and standard would need to be improved. Cold food when it's meant to be hot was not enjoyable. Having to ask several times for hot milk. The rooms where very small I paid $60 per day for an executive room but this was very small also. Next time I'll book the suite. I'm very happy to say we where looked after by the wonderful Anna. This girl is a credit to the hotel she made our 4 day stay memorable. She was attentive and helpful courteous and made us whatever we wanted at the bar. No task or local advice she gave us and I enjoyed learning from her. This girl should be promoted if was my hotel. Overall I would say we enjoyed our Paris trip this hotel was very central and handy to shops bars and restaurants and all locations that a tourist needs. Front desk just need to check communications better I had to be asked several times about my breakfast being included I had to show them emails I sent to the team that was a little annoying. But we will be back to Paris soon and plan to book nowhere else but this hotel!!!

Nicest modern decor in room & shower is good. A little noisy in the morning from workman etc. It looks like dogs are allowed but beware don't cause a problem. The staff are very friendly. A €100 deposit is required in case you purchase any room snacks or drinks.

"Not a 5 star"

1
13/02/2018

This hotel has a 5 star rating. However, I do not know why. It is renovated but our room has an unbearable smell & stayed terribly hot, even in January. The toilet was located inside the shower which caused a number of problems (like a slick floor & wet paper). It proved impossible to have our concerns and issues addressed by management. We ordered drinks in the bar on a rainy night & the bartender left the bar & never returned. After waiting an hour, we had to go to the front desk so they could locate him so we could pay & leave. Staff not helpful with directions. Weak internet signal in our room. Breakfast in a small room for 25 euros each not worth it! Our room was very tiny. The noise from the street is terrible! They started construction work at 6am!

Charles d, Directeur général at Best Western Premier Opera Liege, responded to this review
Dear guest, Our hotel is no a 5 star hotel, we do not have work neither in the hotel neither in the street... And the pictures you added are quite old... I guess you mystake different experiences and if not be sure that we always find solutions if you have some troubles. All management team is at your entire disposal for any further information or complain

"1st Time in Paris"

4
26/01/2018

It was our first time in Paris and to a certain extent Europe. The rooms are rather small but we gathered this is the norm in Paris. Pricy though but we slept with a peace of mind. You can leave your valuables in the safe deposit box and it wont go missing unlike other hotels we heard. Good neighbourhood. It was near Liege Metro. Not too crowded in the morning and just a stone throw away from the hotel. The Metro is an excellent way of getting around Paris. Better than taking the cabs which could cost you. There were a few restaurants and bistros around. The Indian Restaurant Nirvana Inde is good and cosy and its not too far away. Not too many food options unlike the other neighbourhoods i feel. Front office staff is helpful and pleasant. I spoke Basic French but the staff understood English well. Mr Mehdi with the British accent is a helpful guy, The other front office staff are helpful as well. Pleasant stay but the breakfast is rather limited and some of the dishes were cold. Room service not too shabby. It was overall a pleasant experience to sleep in. Heater and all worked fine.

"Lovely hotel, but be careful...."

3
19/01/2018

I wanted to give this hotel a better review, but my experience on the final day upon check-out influenced a higher rating (hence, the "caution/warning" listed in the title). Cons: My reservation was booked through a 3rd party site and payment was processed accordingly. However, upon checking out I charged again and though it was brought to the attention of the staff member on duty. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to resolve it and I had to wait 2 days for it to be fixed and returned to my account. This is something that shouldn't have occurred and was an inconvenience during international travel. Word to the wise: Check your statement/invoice prior to checking out to ensure you haven't been charged twice.

We stayed st this hotel for 3 nights in December , 2017 and it was very good experience . We booked the executive room . It was very good size for a couple. Even though, we are used to suites rooms . You know , Paris hotels have always small rooms . And couldn't praise more the staff of this hotel ! Simply , any wish you desire , they are promptly to help . So professional and polite , yet funny and warm . Great stay !

"Excellent Hotel with Responsive Staff."

07/01/2018

We enjoyed our fourth stay at this hotel in the second week of December 2017. Our first visit was days after the hotel opened so we were amazed on arriving this time to find that the Reception area has been reworked and a bar has been added to the public area. We were unable to book direct with the hotel on this occasion but having discussed a minor difficulty with the Hotel's Manager we are confident that a direct approach remains the best way to achieve future bookings. The third party company that we used on this occasion had not informed the hotel that breakfast was included in our room rate; this was quickly and calmly resolved on production of our booking. The rooms remain absolutely appropriate with all of the usual services available. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on and I'm hoping that the Manager will advise on the make in due course so that we can sleep in equal comfort at home! Each room has its own heating controls so it is easy to establish a temperature appropriate to individual needs. Windows open and we have always appreciated the fact that we can access fresh air in comfort. Breakfast is by way of a self-service buffet where the choice is extensive. Staff are on hand to provide hot drinks to order. The bread and patisserie selection are each excellent and staff top up as needed. A hot breakfast is available for those who want it, my husband tried this one morning and found it delicious. On each visit we have found staff polite and helpful throughout the Hotel. At breakfast waiting staff are busy but they find the time to chat a little if guests want that. The new Manager seemed genuinely anxious to retain our custom; he went out of his way to assist us during our stay. We were grateful in particular for his help when we needed to pack and post a parcel. We have stayed at a number of different hotels in Paris over the years but having discovered this one I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the city. The Hotel is within walking distance of many popular Parisien locations; there are underground stations at each end of the short road and there are excellent restaurants close to hand. Thanks to Charles Étienne and his team for making our stay a wonderful experience.

"Strong fundamentals, but many small issues"

3
06/11/2017

I paid a reasonable price, for a newly renovated room in a good location. The room was a reasonable size and had a fantastic shower. We had a very enjoyable long weekend in Paris. However, there were many minor issues that indicated a lack of overall readiness, and a sense that they have perhaps re-opened too soon. Check in was very slow, with only one member of staff on the desk, who stopped partway through to have a telephone call with another guest. Check out was also very slow as we were used as a training opportunity for a new member of staff (please train your staff before exposing them to guests). The bar was newly renovated and had just opened, but it was not really ready. There was no proper bartender, just a slightly confused member of staff who did not know what a gin and tonic was. Seriously: this was not a language issue, we pointed out the gin, he understood the tonic, but he did not understand that they were meant to go together in the same glass. There was also very little glassware, so I had a choice of having my G&T in either a beer glass or a martini glass. The martini glass was chipped. The point here is that if the staff have not yet been hired/trained, and the glassware has not yet arrived, then the bar simply should not be opened: it's better to do fewer things well, rather than trying to do more things and getting them wrong. The room was mostly good, but was let down by climate control issues -- it was persistently too hot, and the temperature controller on the wall did not appear to control anything. We had to have the window open most of the time. The room was also only provisioned with coffee+water for one guest, on a two-guest booking. The nespresso machine had a capsule jammed inside it from a previous use, and already had water in it (every hotel I've ever stayed in empties the water between guests). The room was freshly renovated (one could still smell the paint), and had a couple of rough edges, un-sealed spaces around the windows, a few bits of missing grout in the bathroom. The television had a very bright blue LED clock, which illuminates the room at night (like, you can see your shadow, it's that bright). The flooring was a little strange, a vinyl tile rather than carpet: it was a bit sticky underfoot. These are the kinds of issues that I'm sure management could sort out if they would have someone stay a night in the room before signing it off for guest use. Honestly, this is all fixable stuff for a sufficiently motivated management team, but it is disappointing that it has not been fixed before opening the rooms and bar to guests, and it will make me think twice before booking with this brand again. Delivering a 5* service is all about getting the details right.

Charles d, Directeur général at Best Western Premier Opera Liege, responded to this review
Dear guest, What an impressive review! Thank you for taking the time to explain your point of view. We are very pleased to read that you had a nice stay at Best Western Premier Opera Liège! Some little issues you described are surprising: -LED clock is a special ask of our guest: we can disable it on demand -As most of the guests at that time were asking for heating, we were not able to switch your sole room to A/C mode. -Coffee machine are "ready to work" to avoid any problem with some guest not used of Nespresso system But be sure that we take note of your comment and we will make our best for your next stay if you allowed us a second chance! Best regards

"Good hotel with some opportunties to improve"

05/11/2017

Very friendly and polite service personnel. Breakfirst with best muffins I have ever eaten. Frest orange juice, warm and cold food. But cappucino was mostly water. Rooms were clean, bathroom well equipped. Hotel closed to moulin rouge and montmartre, metro just some steps away. Quiet road, not much noise during night. Our room was too small for 4 people. Few space for clothing, had to leave most of it in the suitcases. Damaged sealing at Shower door. Was not changed during our stay. No parking at hotel. 90 eur for 3 nights parking. Car was parked by service personnel. Price for room did not reflect our expected quality standard (5 star rated at internet). Recommendation for the hotel but improvements should be done and price should be lower.

Dear Guest, Thank you for this great recommandation, we are delighted to know that you are pleased with our hotel ! Also, we are sorry about this little problem you met about your shower door. I hope to see you soon at the Best Western Premier Opéra Liège*****

"Comfortable room, good location"

28/10/2017

Stayed here for one night and found it to be pleasant and although some renovation work was being undertaken it in no way impacted us. The room was compact and the bathroom more compact but the quality of the fittings were good as was the hairdryer and coffee machine. Breakfast was disappointing as the hot food was luke warm at best but the young employees were going a great job at offering their services to help in any way they could. Some small changes could make this a good place to use again.

Dear Christa, Thank you so much for choosing to experience our establishment for your stay in Paris and for sharing a review with the TripAdvisor community! We are delighted you enjoyed our convenient location, a few minute away from some of the main attractions and shopping centers of the city: such as Montmartre, Opera and the Galleries Lafayette. Thank you also for mentioning the fournitures of our rooms as well as the service quality provided by our staff We do, however, feel very sorry that the hot food of breakfast was not to your convenience, we are going to make more control of temperature for hot food to avoid any convenience in the futur. We sincerely hope you will give us another chance and do not hesitate, next time, to tell the front desk if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable. We have a service 24/24h remaining at your entire disposal to make you feel like home away from home. Best regards,

I stayed at this hotel 3 nights in September. I enjoyed my stay: convenient location with stores, restaurant, station nearby. Room was good with nespresso machine and minibar. I could also workout @the gym. The breakfast is excellent with everything you need to start well your day. Last Tip, go on the terrace at sunrise to enjoy an amazing view of Paris rooftops and Montmartre. I will come back.

The hotel is well placed with easy access to bus stops and metro station (St Lazar). Whilst the room was small, it was reasonably equipped with a coffee machine (that's a saving of 6 euro per cup of latte in Paris!), a bar fridge and a very comfortable bed. It was one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept in. We were also given a pocket wifi during our stay in Paris at no cost. Not a cheap option, but given its strategic location and pocket wifi 'perk', and the in- room coffee machine, it's a thumb up from me.

26/09/2017

We have been a bit disappointed about the size of the Superior room (as the staff of the hotel confirmed us). Also about the communication between the personal: We requested a late check out at 2pm, with a " do not disturb" card on the door, and have been disturbed 3 times around 12.

The room is near to the road and it is quite noise in the morning time. The room is little bit small for 3 person with luggage. Not value for money compare with around hotel in 4-star. The washroom and toilet located at underground. You need go up & down specially bad for senior guy.

This hotel was in a great location. We could walk to the Champs-Élysées and the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower was a short Uber ride away. The staff was so friendly, and the room was spacious and quiet! We would definitely recommend this hotel for others! It has it all for an affordable price!

"A 5 Star Building Site - Not Fit for Purpose"

1
30/08/2017

I booked this supposedly "5 Star" Hotel to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and we stayed for 2 nights. I asked for an early check-in and what a waste of time that was. The staff couldn't really give a stuff that it was a special occasion for me and my wife and we were kept waiting for nearly 2 hours before our room was finally ready. The I started to notice that the Hotel was not what it was supposed to be. It wasn't the luxury hotel the Best Western website said it was - it was just a tarted up building site. You see the Hotel was undergoing a refurbishment but there was no mention of this on the website when I booked it otherwise I wouldn't have booked it. There were areas shut off to the residents. There were areas boarded up with timber sheeting and paper stuck to the windows. There was plastic sheeting on the floor to protect the carpet in the corridor outside our room. There were building contractors walking around in dirty overalls. It was NOT the "5 Star Luxury Experience" that we were hoping for and after 2 nights we left bitterly disappointed. So when we got home I decided to complain and ask for a refund as the Hotel was not fit for purpose. And what response did I get from Best Western Hotel Customer Care???? An offer of a virtually useless £50.00 voucher that could only be used with conditions. And this after spending almost £700.00 on our 2 night stay. Best Western simply do not care about your custom so you should not ever grace them with your presence in one of their Hotels. There is far too much competition out there to have to put up with their appalling approach to a valid complaint. Don't take the risk and stay somewhere else. Shame on you Best Western Hotels. You should be embarrassed by your actions.

Spent 4 days in this lovely hotel. Staff were accommodating where nothing was too much trouble. Really lovely rooms albeit small, which is the norm in Paris. Interestingly, the bathroom was huge and luxurious with an excellent range of travel products. Buffet breakfast offers continental and a hot buffet which catered for my fussy vegetarian 11 year old. Liege metro is a 2 minute walk giving easy access to many of the major attractions. We were able to walk to Gallerie La Fayette, which rivals Harrods. Location is quiet with small local supermarkets, pharmacy etc. Rooms were exceptionally clean with nespresso machines. Small gym with English channels, the rooms too offered BBC & Channel 4 as well as satellite channels. There was construction work going on during our visit to further extend this great hotel but this did not mar our stay as was kept to sociable hours. Lovely stay, will return ...

"Nice hotel staff!!!"

16/08/2017

From my experience in Paris, service is extremely important and sometimes good service is not easy to find. This hotel has given me best service experience in Paris ever. The location for this Best Western property is just ok, close to Liege subway station and a walk distance to some interesting places like Moulin Rouge or Galleries Lafayette. The room was clean, not too small like many options in the city, well planned and well decorated. A nice soft king size bed and pillows allowed us some very good resting nights after some long sightseeing journeys through the city. Breakfast was a bit small for the place and options, however, you will be able to find just what you need to start your day with some nice bread, fruits and other good items from the buffet. And to finish, I couldn't forget to mention how lovely and gentle the reception staff was, especially Anna, who assisted us many times during our stay in Paris. Also Yaw, on the night shift really helped us.

"Nice hotel, good location"

13/08/2017

As others have noted the hotel is undergoing renovation - which would have been nice to know when booking, so thanks, Expedia. It will be lovely when finished, with an internal courtyard and lovely roof bar - but not complete now. Still, the location is good, near the Liege Metro stop, and walking distance to Boulevard Hausmann. The staff were excellent, allowing us to check in early which was a boon as we were travelling with my step-mother in law, who is 81 and needs regular rests. The check in staff were excellent, and the concierge (Yohan) had a great sense of humour - laughing and joking and being exceptionally helpful. The rooms were small but well equipped, comfortable bed and excellent rain shower (loved the push button control!). Also nice touches like an Nespresso machine with free coffee pods, and at bedtime the bed had a tiny bag with minute Madeleines. Only gripe was having to pay nearly the full room rate to keep the room until 6pm... not like they were full. Still, would recommend, and will probably be back.

Nice hotel convenient location. Staff very helpful. Undergoing remodel but done during day when not in hotel. Did not notice noise. Close to subway system. Room was a nice size and updated. Bathroom had large shower. In room safe, fridge and coffee tea service.

"Lovely Weekend Stay"

17/07/2017

I stayed here for 2 nights in the beginning of June for my Mother's birthday. I had purchased a bottle of Moet which was waiting for us in our room upon arrival with a tray of treats which was complimentary. Our room was supposedly upgraded to a larger room, however it was still relatively small to what I was expecting and had seen in the images on the website. Nevertheless, the service was great and staff were very accommodating. I made very good use of the free mifi when walking the streets of paris (a 150 euro repost was required in case you lose or damage). They have a breakfast area for eating, however no main restaurant on the premises. I liked going on the rooftop for the views, however would have been better if they had a bar or seats there for people to enjoy, as it's just very bare. In regards to location, it's perfect. Not too far from Gare du Nord via taxi, and the metro is right around the corner off the side street, which was extremely convenient! It is a bit pricy, but it is also labeled a 5 star hotel. All in all a lovely stay!

"Friendly and tidy hotel"

11/07/2017

Stayed here for two nights in July and enjoyed the stay. The hotel lobby has recently been refurbished and it is a very welcoming and chic entrance. Unfortunately the courtyard garden that the breakfast room opens on to was not finished, but once this is done it will definitely enhance that room. Bedroom was compact, as i think you'd expect for Paris but well appointed with a good sized en-suite. Staff were helpful in guiding us around, suggesting how to hire bikes etc. Location wise it is very close to Moulin Rouge and that area but a bit of a walk (can get Metro) down to the other sites - we hired the Velolib and found that a very easy easy to see all the key sites. The roof terrace was't really utilised that much but was a nice outside space to have a coffee/drink.

I really enjoyed the stay and I would definitely recommend it to others both for business or pleasure stay. Very nice and helpful staff and great hotel. My room was perfect and was great to have the Nespresso machine and the home made biscuits on the firs day! We had a one night stay here recently while visiting the city with friends. The staff were exemplary from the girl on the front desk, who provided us with a map and told us where to go to see the sights, to the guys at breakfast. I have never been served breakfast by such smartly dressed people!! The breakfast buffet was fabulous

Very nice service Yaw was extremely helpful and also the young ladies on Sunday. Walking distance to galaries layaffte. N train station. There should be 24 hr kitchen. Breakfast was nice only part bad was that they would charge egg preparations.

"Clean, Accessible, Considerate Staff, Excellent for couple with Adult Child/Children"

5
11/06/2017

My husband and I stayed 5 nights with our adult child and loved it. While we might have preferred to be right on La Champs Elysee, this was peaceful and saved us easily $1000 and was only 3 metro stops away -- quite close -- 1/2 a block to get on the Metro at Liege with good connections to other lines. We had a lofted room over a Sofa Bed area -- allowing excellent privacy for all. The hotel is fully redone, modern and clean. The staff was fun, kind and conversant in several languages. The unexpected find was their Express Breakfast for 7 Euros each and the very best apple juice we have ever enjoyed! Wish we knew how the Apple Juice was made or where to get it in the States. Thank you for being our home away from home for the trip of a lifetime!

"Location and comfort at a good rate"

5
30/05/2017

We stayed here for two nights before heading to another part of France. The hotel was in a very convenient location, with brasseries and restaurants nearby. The hotel is very close to the Liege Metro station, but also within an easy walk to Gare St. Lazare, where Metro and RER lead to just about anywhere. The room was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were helpful with advice on getting around, how much time to allow to get to Gare de Lyon for our TGV out of town, etc. We did not have the breakfast buffet or order room service. The "bar" is really just a counter in the lobby, but sufficient for our purposes. Tiny elevator, as in nearly all Paris hotels. We had a very good rate for oh-so-expensive Paris, and would gladly stay here again.

"Hotel Great - Room Service not so much!"

4
22/05/2017

Hotel is in a great central location but in a quiet street. Recently refurbished so looks and feels very clean and modern. Small gym with only 3 pieces of equipment but kept very clean and tidy. could benefit from some free weights/kettlebells and more than one floor mat. Room service was terrible and as there is no restaurant in the hotel I had to take this option. First night I ordered an omelette which took over an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold. Second night I ordered a Ceasar Salad with chicken - chicken was really tough and the lettuce had been frozen and was still icy cold. Those pieces of lettuce that had defrosted were brown and limp. These are simple dishes and not difficult to get right. I hope the quality improves for my next visit in June! I am staying there again as it works well for me for my business trip and the hotel has a lot of positives just needs to improve room service!

I love this place. I use it for my business trips in Paris. The entire hotel fits in an old building, fully renovated, with a lovely patio. "Wonderful hotel for a great price "

08/05/2017

We spent 4 days 3 nights at this hotel and it was an excellent experience the staff was very helpful with recommending where to eat and what to do around the city. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size the room was a bit small but not a big deal considering we were only there to sleep. The hotel is within walking distance to some very good restaurants that were reasonably priced the Moulin rouge is also within walking distance. Overall it was an excellent stay and we will return.

"Very good apart from parking"

4
05/05/2017

We booked this hotel with early bird discount so was good value for money I paid. Room condition and service were good and staffs were friendly. We had difficulty parking but this is probably the same for other hotels in Paris. Overall we had good experience and would comeback next time we visit.

"Absolutely brilliant hotel"

5
01/05/2017

Stayed here for a weekend in Paris. Quite simply brilliant. Staff friendly and despite my intention to try the lingo, they spoke excellent English. Very welcoming reception, room clean, bed amazingly comfortable, shower incredible!! oh the rain shower and I thought the food was delightful as well. I can't say anything bad about this hotel and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Paris. We were looking to do a bit of walking so despite their being a metro station at the end of the street, the Place de la concorde and the Champs Elysees were only a 20-25 minute walk (if you're into walking that is)

"Everything perfect"

"Nice hotel for la fayette and sacre cour"

21/04/2017

This hotel is convenient for galleries la fayette and sacre cour. Liege metro is just a stone throw away. The hotel is modern with multi lingual staff. The hotel breakfast has great sausages and bacon..... I have stayed in two other hotels in Paris during this trip but their bacon and sausages is the best. The rooms are modern and well equiped with cute shower gel and shampoo bottles. Great hotel and good location. I was sent to this hotel from Hotel Beauchamp as they were fully booked at the last minute and I have paid by credit card but turns out ok.

"Paris Marathon"

5
11/04/2017

Originally we weren't supposed to stay here but due to an admin error in our other hotel we got moved here 36 hours before arriving, firstly I must stress that the error was the other hotels fault and not the fault of this hotel but manager Stephanie took matters into her own hands and organised the transfer for us which was above and beyond she didn't have to but she took the issue out of our hands. On arrival reception staff are extremely friendly and courteous, one of the reception staff even walked me down to the metro to show me how to get the train, again this was another extreme act of kindness. Constantly the beds are kept tidy, we left the room for 10 mins and the room was spotless when we came back. Breakfast is self service and you will not be disappointed as there is something that everyone will want to taste and eat! On race day I was provided with a sports bag with an energy drink and the hotel booked a taxi to the start line. Once I finished the race an hour later the hotel sent up a platter with sweets and macaroons along with fruit juice yet another act of kindness. On returning to the airport the hotel booked a taxi at a fixed price so it wouldn't cost us a fortune. This hotel single handedly turned what could have been a bad experience into a good one, they took so much stress off me and my family by being supportive and helpful in any way they could. We are all so very glad that we got transferred here and I couldn't recommend this hotel enough!! It fully merits its 5* rating and ranks as one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

This is truly a very good hotel to choose for your holiday in Paris! The location is great, a very safe area in Paris right next to the Opera and Gallerie LaFayette and in a walking distance ( no more than 25minute) from most of the "must visit" places of Paris like the Louvre the Notre Dame, Montemarte, Ext ext... The people of the hotel are realy helpful and warm and the rooms are very clean and elegant... Maybe a 4 star would be more appropriate as for a 5star hotel we would expect more areas and facilities like pool bigger gym spa maybe a restaurant and bigger rooms but on the other hand the price for the room is realy "value for money". Highly recommended!!

"Not that great"

This is a convenient business hotel fairly centrally in Paris and not too far from Paris Nord station in case you're coming from abroad. Rooms are clean and service is generally quite good. Breakfast is way poor for the price per night the hotel is charging. Also no room service after 10pm!? I know hotels with 24 hr service and much lower rates per evening. Finally the "fitness centre" is disappointing to say the least. Super small room without even all cardio equipment working.

"Very good hotel, professional staff and good location"

Very good hotel, professional staff and good locationIt is a great 4 stars hotel but, but not 5 stars as they are marketing it. No proper restaurant that operate until late evening, rooms are not big, but very good 4 stars level. A guy name Yaw in the reception, very professional, very good. The bar did not have many of the items on the menu... Overall, a very god 4 stars hotel.

1. Great hotel with quiet rooms even with a noisy street background. 2. Fantastic breakfast. Best I have had in ages. Quality and selection is a lovely surprise. 3. Staff incredibly polite and competent. Only negative and its a small one was the absence of a more conventional bar setting to unwind after a day at the office. Drinks are available but its more after an afterthought bar.

Although the rooms are slighly on the small side, I can most thoroughly recommend this hotel for its location, service, cleanlines and excellent breakfast. The staff are helpful and nearby are many fine places to eat.

"Clean, Central hotel & Excellent customer service"

We first arrived and were checked in fast which is great. We were travelling with our 4 month old baby and were taken to our room, unfortunately the size of the bedrooms are pretty small - I know it is in France..and renowned for "small" but for a 5* hotel you would expect a room twice the size at a minimum. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was more like a 5* room which was much better and the staff were very nice about it. I think like the prior review this doesn't cut the 5* rating I'm afraid, don't get me wrong the place is very clean etc but its missing some crucial elements this includes room service (there was no menu for food to order which I found perplexing..), in the reception there was a corner in which there was a few bottles of spirits on a shelf with a few stools out (this was the bar..) In comparison to 5* hotels in the UK at most this hotel would maybe reach 4* . The staff were great and very helpful I would give them 5* ! But the hotel itself is stretching the 4* mark at best. I would feel hard done by if I'd had booked and had my initial room paying what we paid. And that's not what you would want to feel like whilst there. I think the hotel maybe need to acknowledge this and reflect this in their pricing. Location is great.

"Not a 5 star hotel"

02/11/2016

Good new clean hotel. But not a five star property. Tiny rooms, cheap deco and furnishings. Beds and pillows are not what one expects at a five star hotel. Lift wouldn't stop at our floor. Service at check out extremely slow. Location is OK though. Breakfast good but again not at the five star level.

Renaud S, Directeur général at BEST WESTERN PREMIER Opera Liege, responded to this review
Dear Sergei, We thank you for taking the time to share your impressions on TripAdvisor following your recent stay in Best Western Premier Opéra Liège. We are really sorry to learn that we didn't meet your expectations regarding the design, the amenities, and the comfort of your room. As you said, our hotel had been newly refurbished and all the comments like yours will help us to improve ! Concerning the lift, I am pleased to confirm you that all floors are served, and I am sorry that we didn't explained it to you. You also mentioned the size of your room, and I apologize if the 17 sqm of the Superior Room you had didn't satisfyied you. For your next stay, our Reception team will be pleased to help you in the choice of your room category. Maybe an Executive room or a Duplex Suite will be better for your needs. However, we are delighted to read that you liked the cleanliness of the hotel, and our central location in Paris, did you have time to enjoy a special night in the famous Moulin Rouge, a few minutes walk to the hotel ? I hope you will give us another chance to show you how we improve our quality service in Best Western Premier Opéra Liège. Best regards, Renaud Scalliet & all the team

"Euro hotel star rating is inflated than in USA."

4
31/10/2016

The rain shower is much better than most other rain shower in that it is easy to operate. Push the button to turn on and off the water and the amount of water gushing out from the nozzles gave a refreshing wash. Perhaps it is the European standard and rated this hotel as 5 star. In USA it would be at best a 4 star hotel. It is clean and maintain (I called dit) a minimalist style. The priceline (Tripadvisor link) I booked thru gave me $145 per night before taxes for weekday. However, other travel sites listed on Tripadvisor were much higher priced (hotels.com $170; Expedia.com $161; booking.com $161). I was assigned room 101 (Superior room) that overlook the inner entrance. The TV remote control was acting strange that after the first few channels (showing TV picture and sound) then it shown channel above number 100. From then on, whenever I pressure the next channel on the remote all I got was radio. I tried and tried and only get different radio station on the TV. I walked down to reception desk and explain the problem at 12 mn. The receptionist offer to come up to my room to take a look. I went back to the room first and tried again on the remote. I pressed the numerical pad for a lower number(e.g 12 or 20) and the TV picture came back. I realized that the remote control button was sticking or jumped to a higher channel number. Minutes later the receptionist knocked on the door and I thanked him for showing up but I solved my own problem. It was lucky for me to read onto the page 4 of the Tripadvisor hotel review that this hotel offer a free portable Wifi but you have to ask the front desk. It is a small cigarette pack size gadget that is actually a cellular-radio unit that act as a hot spot. I requested it and was able to carry with me in my pocket. I was able to use internet to navigate Paris street. The Leige metro was just a straight walk outside the hotel and a brief one minute walk. Very convenient. I used UBER to the Gare du Nord train station (37-39 Rue de Dunkerque) and it costed me 7.50 Euro for 2 person. The receptionists were very polite and answer my questions. I was wondering there was no complimentary drinking water in the room and at checkout I mentioned to the receptionist. I was told that the big glass expensive looking bottle that housed in a stainless steel receptacle was the complimentary drinking water. I told her that I did not find any note saying it is free and so I did not touch the bottle. The gym was in the lower floor (marked -1 floor) and smaller than the hotel room. It has two machines, a drinking fountain, some towel and two bars of snack and wo apples displayed. I stayed for two night and the maid only make up the bed and clean the trash but did not change the two towels that we used. I would stay here again if the price is $145 or lower. It was the 5 star rating on the website that entice me to move from my previous hotel stay. I was disappointed at the star rating. I could have stayed at Best Western Premier Le Swann for $90 and saved some dough. If my review help you in some way, please click "helpful". Thanks.

Beautiful hotel positioned only a short walk from Galerie Lafayette. Excellent service( Thanks to Stephanie Cauvin, amongst others, we had a magical stay). Our room was stunning and very clean. Breakfast was excellent and the small "terrasse" was pleasant and relaxed. We don't have the feeling to be in a capital. Without doubt, I would recommend this hotel. I am a regular hotel's customer and I would say that it is one of the best hotel in Paris!!

The hotel was gorgeous right from the entrance. The staff was very accommodating and gave us an upgrade due to us being on our honeymoon. The 2-floor suite was beautiful and the bathroom, including the rain shower ??, was exquisite. Throughout our stay the staff helped us with navigation of Paris. I would most definitely return.

26/09/2016

We booked this hotel as it was a great rate for a five star hotel. We were a bit suspicious as our perception of Best Western was that it was an "economy" hotel chain. We were blown away by the hotel. It is modern, smart and extremely clean. Our room was spacious and well adorned with toiletries. We arrived early and our room was already ready and set up for us and our daughter (fold out couch). We also received late checkout without any charge. The beds were very comfortable and we received a turndown service every night. The staff are amazing. The front desk staff are friendly and professional and were always willing to help. Cannot fault them. We asked them for restaurant advice and their recommendations were spot on. The breakfast staff were prompt and so friendly. The hotel does not have a lunch / dinner restaurant but they do serve breakfast, the breakfast is incredible. Looks small but there are plenty of options from cold meat, cheeses and yoghurt to eggs, mushrooms etc. to pastries. The food quality was faultless. Lunch and dinner was not a problem as there are plenty of good restaurants in close and safe walking distance. The location of the hotel is also excellent we walked to all of the attractions. Everything is within a 5-7km radius. The gym is modern and in good condition with good equipment, although limited. The only thing to be mindful of, of is that there is no parking. We had a car and had to find parking along the street. We decided to return our hire car early rather than try find longer term parking. We loved this hotel and will now consider Best Western Premiere hotels whenever we travel.

"What a Surprise"

5
17/09/2016

We stayed two nights in a duplex style room, obviously quite new, nice garden sitting area, breakfast was excellent, what made the place special were the staff , Clarissa, Stephanie and especially Garry, nothing was an imposition . Having stayed in BW occasionally over the years, this one surprised us, a real cut above the norm in presentation, and the staff attention to detail, we'll be back .

"Surprisingly good"

16/09/2016

I booked this hotel through Priceline & at the time of booking I was not able to see what hotel I'm getting until I paid for it. Once I paid and found out it's a Best Western I was extremely concerned because Best Westerns in U.S aren't necessarily known for good quality but once I arrive at the hotel I was pleasantly surprised and loved everything about the hotel but the price of the breakfast since it wasn't included. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out breakfast was €25 per person. I travel a lot and breakfasts will not cost more than €10-€12 per room. My bad I didn't check the price. Hotel itself is fantastic though.

"Beautiful quiet hotel in perfect location"

15/09/2016

Beautiful quiet hotel in perfect location, Stayed here in September for a long weekend. Perfect location for a very beautiful part of Paris. Friendly staff , modern clean rooms. Breakfast was well beyond expectations with a very high quality selection of products on offer.

"Wonderful hotel near Opera"

14/09/2016

This hotel is wonderful, the rooms are fresh, new, modern, and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. We came in by car and they took the car and parked it for us, as finding parking in Paris can be quite stressful. I love the close proximity to Opera, Galleries lafayette and the tour buses are nearby. Great hotel highly recommended.

"Good hotel with friendly staff"

13/09/2016

Stayed in this hotel just for one night. Hotel is very central located in Paris, only 2,2km away from the railway station Paris Nord. Room is smaller then you would expect from a 5* hotel but the quality is very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good, but again not a 5* level.

"Fantastic stay but not 5 star"

4
13/09/2016

We had a fantastic stay in Paris the hotel staff were 5 star and could not be more helpful when we arrived but the hotel itself I don't think should be 5 star . No breakfast included in the price and not enough coffee and tea making in the room . The beds were really comfortable and had the best night sleep , I just think it needs a little bit more class to make it 5 star and no room service lets it down , but over all can't fault my stay just expected a little bit more for my money.

"A gem in a great location"

5
12/09/2016

This hotel is located in the 9th Arr. , nearby Moulin Rouge, The Opera and Galleries Lafayette for upscale shopping ! All are within a 10-15 minute walk..There is both a Metro stop (Liege) and a Bus stop within a block. The hotel is a 5 star Boutique hotel which only opened in Nov.2015, with 55 rooms. The hotel is really fantastic. The Staff is so helpful and friendly(especially Gary and front desk young lady during the morning-sorry I can't recall her name). They go overboard to help you with EVERYTHING and actually make you feel like family-can't say enough good things about them ! Convenient location and plenty of restaurants, cafes, transportation, close by.Old building which was renovated, keeping the old charm, but in new/updated rooms etc. Highly recommend it !

"Unexpected service"

09/09/2016

Overall the area is very quiet yet still close enough to everything. Really new hotel, super clean and elegant. Love the vanity products they selected. They were from Mooooi, One of my favourite designer. The interior space is very modern and minimal. If you love modern design, you would love this place. The best thing about this place is that the price is beyond reasonable for what you get. The bed is extremely comfortable, I didn't get any back pain while I was there. on top of this, They provided free portable Wifi machine for you to take out of the hotel during your stay. This is the reason I will come back to this hotel. Loved it, For real.

"Great for a short stay"

Clean, modern, and comfortable. Only gripe was the small space in the room would make it tough for travelling with a lot of luggage for more than a couple of days. Other than that, I would certainly come back!

"A pleasure, truly"

The combination of high quality accommodations and fantastic service is hard to find in Paris, but this hotel has them both. And it's location is extremely convenient to both business and Paris attractions alike. Thank you for a wonderful stay, staff ;) - Sean

28/08/2016

I travel a lot, yet I can honestly say I've never had a better service at a hotel anywhere else! If I'm ever in Paris again, I'll always seek to come back here. PS: there is an Indian restaurant nearby that is absolutely outstanding!

"Thanks to their hospitality,"

24/08/2016

I spend 3days in this hotel, Best Western Premier Opera Liege, but the condition was extremely bad. I was traveling with my boss and this was his first inter continent trip. He was badly missing Korean food and we were quite tired due to the past schedules in Finland. And worst thing, we could not receive our baggage properly. Charles de Gaulle Airport is notorious for baggage handling so we brought our main things by and carrier, but our clothes have to travel two days more because of SAS made serious mistakes. Even we stayed in the worst case like that, we could enjoy trip in Paris just because of hospitality of this hotel, Best Western Premier Opera Liege.

"Couldn't fault it"

22/08/2016

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel recently during our short break in Paris, and I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. The hotel itself is attractive and modern. The rooms are spotless and well equipped, with a lovely modern bathroom and the comfiest bed I have ever slept in - like sleeping on a cloud! The staff at the hotel were all lovely, and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. The location is also perfect, with the liege metro station being literally at the top of the street, a minute walk away from the hotel. Best hotel I have stayed in, would definitely return the next time I am in Paris.

Myself and my girlfriend stay here for 3 nights during a stay to celebrate her 21st and I must say the hotel and the staff were excellent! We arrived in Paris late on Saturday night by this time we was very tired so the member of staff on reception checked us in as quick as possible! The hotel is in a good location as on a quiet street close enough to walk to the sights of Paris and far enough for a relaxed feeling away from the centre. All members of staff were extremely helpful including helping us thing a nice restaurant to eat and recommding routes to get to Disneyland. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, would also stay here again if re visited Paris!

I have my hand carry bag stolen in your coffee shop and I lost all my cash and passport. I didn't get any help from hotel staff in reporting to the police. They didn't even let me view the video which has recorded the thief's face and image. No police came to investigate as hotel managment didn't evn follow up this the case! All 8 of us are deeply troubled by the security of the hotel. It is small hotel, how can they let strangers to come in and steal customers belongings so easily! I have lost over 10,000 Euros, my Ipad and my SamSung phone in my Prada hand bag. Very disappointing! Billy Yung

Decent pricing, brand new facilities, 5-star, tremendously clean, great service, professional and friendly staff at Reception (you can't find that in a lot of places in Paris), excellent location - I Uber'd it everywhere but there's a metro station right down the road, and fantastic in-room amenities.... the shower is perfect, bed is like sleeping on a cloud, room service was great, housekeeping are so efficient it amazed me to have such a team be so attentive! I come from a hotel background, and through my professional opinion this place ticks all the boxes! Thank you for a great stay! See you next year :)

After staying at another best western during this trip I wasn't looking forward to staying here and expected the worst. I arrived and was immediately greeted by the clerk and was shown to a very nice modern room which I was not expecting in Paris. The room was incredible and recently renovated and the bed was the best I slept in during my European holiday. This hotel reminds me of some of the 5 star hotels I stay in during my Vegas trips. If I had known how nice this hotel was and how reasonable it was priced I would have spent all my Paris time here. It is very close to two metro stations, parks, bakeries, and a small grocery store. I would definitely stay here again in a heart beat.

No complaints about my stay at this hotel. Clean and new hotel. Love the rain shower. Only think that they should provide one bottle of water daily as compliments instead of only once at check in. I've stayed at other hotels in Paris and they do provide 1 bottle daily. Some even ask if I need another when I return mid day when I was tired from the hot weather. Please look into this to improve given the price you've set.

Very good location of the hotel and very quiet, the bedroom is a bit small but very clean. The personnel of the hotel are welcoming and very nice. The quality of the hotel compare to the cost is very attractive. Not enough shower gel for a couple who takes 2 showers a day minimum.

Weekend rate over 300 Euros - and what do you get for it? A very small room, no room even for a suitcase! No fresh towels. Only plastic pillows. No fresh water. No wake-up call, sorry, we forgot. Undrinkable coffee at breakfast. Reception ladies which are overstrained. Unaccaptable! Thanks only to the Portuguese receptionist who tried to make up for all the problems.

great location, just by the metro station, great inside decoration with good facilities, excellent bed and bathroom, the breakfast is really nice and tasty. I felt for a 5* hotel they might have thrown in maybe a pack of nuts or crisps with the "welcome water" bottle. there is the usual over priced minibar which I didn't touch. Also there isn't a USB port, not even on the TV which is a let down when you don't have an international power plug adaptor!! Also the treadmill is really slow to start, the touch screen is not very responsive, however the overall gym facilities ( the 4 machines they have) is of food quality, there are free fruits and energy bars. overall it was a positive experience and I will definitely come back here.

The hotel is near a nice quiet area in Paris and I have used it for an over night stay before travelling to Lyon. The check in process was quick however I was given only one key as the receptionist said they ran out of keys. The room was small and that was standard for paris and it had a good space to put your bags. Small wardrobe which is satisfactory and it has a safe inside. A working desk with a good cafe machine and wide choice of cafe and teas. The bed was very comfortable and the design of lights was good. The AC was good and the overall room atmosphere was excellent. The TV was placed at the side of the bed which was a drawback but nevertheless it was a big screen. The toilet however was ver very small to allow movement and it had a good size shower box. The issue that made me upset was the cold water in the shower only. I spoke to the reception at night about it and he did not offer us another room and promised to take care of it first thing morning. This made me feel it will be fixed. In the morning i tried the showet and it was still cold and when I spoke to reception, they came back to me after a while saying Manager is saying they cannot do anything now and offered me to change the room. That was one hour before checkout. Yes I said no because it was too late, I requested an extension of my checkout and was offered only 30 min. I took my cold shower and left. At the reception when I spoke about the subject the lady replied nothing was told by night shift to them and that they are sorry. I simply said if a replacement was an option why didnt get the offer at night ?? My advice do it better than me and give the hotel a chance but check the water and ask for a different room if not satisfied. It seems I was too tired to act.

A beautiful new hotel close to the Mogador theatre. The hotel is centrally located within the the art and theatre district, does mean you have to walk about 20-30 minutes to the Champs Elysee and other Paris sites. A very comfortable stay, great room facilities. Staff were excellent.

I've stayed at several Paris hotels, and most are quite small and dated. This hotel room was small but updated with all amenities. Wonderful sleep and excellent show er with ultra modern fixtures. The staff were super helpful offering complimentary drinks and assisting with directions to Eiffel Tower, Galleria, Champs Elysses and perfect places to dine. We walked everywhere and actually took the subway in the afternoon with ease. The hotel is highly recommended for good value and comfort.

"Amazing hotel, great staff, wonderful location, rare quality (and space) for Paris!!!!"

I don't usually write reviews (or often forget to I must admit!) but I really felt compelled to do so on this occasion. Before visiting Paris, I was told by many that hotels aren't generally great in Paris (unless you pay a small fortune) and can often be restricted in space/quality for what you pay. However, this particular hotel broke all of those conceptions! The location was fantastic - literally less than a minute walk to Liege Metro station if you prefer to travel in Paris by train or an easy ten minute walk towards Opera and then the Centre of Paris. We had a mixture of days in Paris where we walked to every location and some days (like going to Disneyland) where we took advantage of a day pass on the Metro/RER trains to get to/from locations (cost around 10E but they do a 2/3/4 day pass which might work out cheaper if you intend to travel every day by train). The hotel was amazing. We stayed in a Duplex Suite which was truly one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. A lounge area downstairs with plenty of wardrobe space, a flatscreen TV, minibar, free coffee machine with pods, second WC and a sofa bed for a third person if you needed it. Upstairs was the most luxurious large double bed, a second flatscreen TV, desk, and a bathroom which was bigger than most standard bedrooms!!!! It had two sink units, a separate toilet and a brilliant rainfall shower with separate handheld head which can both be used at the same time! It was super clean, modern, well equipped and truly wonderful. Extra things were hairdryer, iron and board (which can be obtained from Reception), his/hers bathrobes and slippers, electric controlled curtains and ample shower cream, shampoo and body lotion. One of the highlights of the room service at the hotel was a gadget that we were given which allows you have free wifi throughout Paris. All you have to do is ask Reception for it and then once charged, you can carry it with you in your bag and stay logged on wherever you go in Paris and have super fast wifi! It was actually better than my 4G!!!! We didn't have breakfast/food at the hotel so can't comment on that. The grounds at the hotel were amazing - great, modern reception area, rooftop gardens on the 5th floor, gym area on ground floor - everything modern, clean and super efficient. There is also a Mac computer and printer in reception for use and printing (with no extra charges). The hotel can book any excursions for you, as well as taxis etc. They also have maps of Paris, so don't bother spend money getting one in town! I must give a special mention to Ludivic who was one of the nicest Reception staff. He was so helpful, attentive, accommodating, full of useful information and just one of those individuals who couldn't do enough for you - I hope management at the hotel give something extra to their staff for special mentions etc because he deserves it. All in all, superb hotel, would definitely stay again and by the looks of it, one of the best in Paris. 5*****

Very nice place. Had a luxurious two floor apartment! Only small problem was the fan blowing directly to the bed. In the summer this is probably nice but during cold weather you do not miss it. I didn't know how to adust the fan.

Booked thru agoda as the rates were magnificent. The hotel's location is very good. A stone throw away from shopping at La Fayette and plenty of food nearby. There is a metro line nearby and Rer about 15 minutes walk. The first impressions were good. During check in the lady at the desk certainly made my day. Friendly, bubbly and armed with a wealth of knowledge. I would hire her immediately if she was in my country. We Felt so welcomed. Rooms were abit small, but not claustrophobic. Bed was good, but the pillows were abit soft. Didn't try the breakfast as we went out for brunch. Hotel was good but the lady at the counter made it GREAT. Regret didn't getting her name

We had a lovely stay intros very clean and carefully decorated hotel. The room was modern but a bit tiny, shower was big with a "rain function". Large choice at breakfast but only one waiter to serve. The staff was very attentive and always ready to help, they let us use a wireless wifi device we could use outside the hotel so we could stay connected to the internet anywhere in town, very useful! We will definitely come back.

Fantastic hotel! Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The staff were extremely polite and efficient, well spoken in many different languages and extremely courteous. The room was a pleasure to stay in, extremely clean and very flexible with the way room service was delivered. The 24 hour room service really made the stay so relaxed and enjoyable, as we ordered gorgeous champagne and nibbles to the room. Fantastic location to go and see Paris, close to bars and restaurants and extremely helpful concierge desks to help navigate you through the city. Absolutely 5 stars! Fantastic hotel

24/03/2016

I saw the reviews for BW Premier Opera Liege online before booking and they were very favorable, so I decided to try it. I was very pleased. Very central location to shopping and to Montmartre area. Only small issue was that I arrived in Paris after an overnight flight and got to the hotel at 8 am on a Sunday. On Sundays, most things are closed in Paris so it was hard to occupy myself till the 3pm check in time came. Fortunately, the hotel staff did everything in their power to give me the first available room by 1 pm.

"5 Star... ...Really?!"

3
21/03/2016

While this hotel was OK, we experienced a number of issues unbefitting of ANY hotel, let alone a 5 star. A few come to mind, like being locked out of the hotel after midnight, and needing to wait 10-15 minutes out in the cold, with no one answering the phone at the front desk... ...Or the very awkward waiting staff, at breakfast in the morning, which appeared to have little or no experience at all. Or the still unfinished look of the place (many walls clearly needed touchups, and the elevator's stainless steel panels still were showing bits of their plastic wrap covering, poking out). Finally, the breakfast and breakfast room itself were more reminiscent of what one might find at a basic Best Western somewhere in Alabama, but certainly not PARIS. Our room was small and unimpressive. The service was mediocre. The price was high. And even though these are Paris norms, we expected more from an American hotel chain, listed as a 5 star / boutique, in the 9eme, over X-Mas and New Years...

"A great new hotel in the heart of Paris with only a few minor teething issues"

5
16/03/2016

This is a newly-refurbished hotel (late 2015) which is positioned right in the heart of Paris (Liege), providing great access to some of the city's most iconic locations. Clarissa, Stéphanie, Gerry and other members of staff were extremely attentive and helpful, doing their utmost to accommodate us. We had arrived far too early for check-in on the first day, but were offered the choice of taking a smaller room with a large terrace or waiting until the 3pm for a larger room to become available. After seeing the first room, we decided to wait for the latter and were glad we did as rooms do differ significantly throughout and it proved to be far more spacious. The hotel itself is quite modern and well-equipped. It sports a great bathroom, plenty of storage and hangers, hairdryer, coffee machine and the usual items one expects from a hotel of this quality. The coffee was complimentary (thankfully because we tend to gorge ourselves on it). The bed was large: very comfortable for me but a tad too soft for my wife. Location-wise, we had no complaints whatsoever. It was within 2 mins walk to a metro and taxis (we used Uber) had no problem get to and from the place. Our only niggles (hence down-marking the service and room) were the small things that were overlooked. Housekeeping skipped cleaning our room on the second day and we returned from a day of sightseeing to a disheveled room. Although they cleaned the room on the second day, housekeeping still managed to leave us almost without toilet paper, Additionally, throughout our stay we had arranged for a couple of items to be brought up to the room, e.g. more coffee, milk, sugar, but none of these were ever brought (except the toilet paper, thankfully). I just assumed that being a small hotel with limited staff numbers, they had forgotten. My only other gripe was the lighting in the bathroom: very weak which made shaving/putting on make-up cumbersome and, on occasion, the shower light refused to switch on. Aside from that (and they really are only minor gripes), this is a great location to bed down and relax after a long day or night in Paris. The staff were extremely pleasant and courteous and did all they could to make our stay there as comfortable as possible. Breakfast in the morning was quite substantial and offered a varied choice of fruits, yogurts, cereals, pastry items and bread, and hot food, along with fresh juices and hot beverages. My wife and I would certainly stay there again.

"Not bad"

14/03/2016

Good the position: the hotel is not very far from the Opera but rooms are too small and breakfast not rich at all. Personnel are kind and available in reserving a restaurant (the hotel has no internal restaurant....). Price is good but you can find better in Paris. Corrado F.

Went on business trip to this hotel early January 2016 for 5 days. It was excellent for value (however, got special rates but it could be a bit expensive if you pay the full price). Very well located (2 min walk from Liege Metro Station and 10 min max walk from Saint Lazare train station and Place Clichy). The room was big enough and quiet (which is not always the case in Paris). The staff was very helpful and professional. Did not try the breakfast but free flow of coffee with Nespresso machine in the room.

We sayed here for 3 nights and were delighted with the experience. The customer service throughout was exceptional. The room was modern, large and very quiet. We were on the 5th floor and had easy access to the roof garden which had a tantalizing glimpse of Sacre Coeur. Breakfast was perfect and had a wide selection of foods, hot and cold and again, the service here was attentive and very polite. "Not comfortable and in my opinion not 5* worthy"

2
07/02/2016

I've mentioned it for 2 days of a 3 day stay and nothing was done. The superior room we are in is so small that it's extremely stuffy. To top it off the air conditioning is off. Yes off, as in they have turned if off because they say it is winter. During the nights it's unbearably warm and as a migraine suffer that's an immediate trigger. I'm not happy at all given I booked the hotel as a special treat for my husband and I and specifically chose the hotel for the amenities it advertised, air conditioning being a key one. Breakfast has one staff member rushed off his feet and barely able to service all the breakfast customers. We came for breakfast at 9am today when it finished at 10:30am. Much of the food was finished was not replenished. I waited a good hour and eventually gave up and ate what was left. Staff are incredibly polite but hotel is not the 5* it claims to be, it's probably self-rated. I cannot fault the staff I've spoken to as their manners and general communication was great but when it still doesn't deliver any results it's tarnishes the overall impression. I've given the staff a chance to resolve my issues and the only things that were done were to give me a fan and offer me an equally small room that still has no air conditioning. And by air conditioning I mean being able to control the temperature; staff say it works but you cannot control it and settings you see are false, only hot air will come out. I had a migraine on the first night, felt dizzy and sick when I woke up this morning because of the heat in the room and unfortunately I'm going to either have to endure the noise of a portable fan borrowed from another hotel for me or face another terribly warm night and migraine tomorrow; not what I expected for the price I paid. As a valentines surprise for my husband I've been apologising since we arrived. I'll be speaking with my travel insurance company when I get home.

29/12/2015

We stayed here in December for a birthday treat. The location was fantastic for getting to a great many of the Parisian sights & attractions. We spent a great deal of time looking for a hotel. What we found in general was that nice hotels were incredibly expensive while the majority seemed very average & dated. Very few appear to be in the process of updating their decor. This made finding Opera Liege even better, the hotel has been beautifully decorated. Our room was very comfy & cosy & we had no problem relaxing once our day was done. As others have stated the bathroom was a great size for Paris. The staff were very nice and could not do enough for us. What was really special & very thoughtful was the fact they noticed it was my wife's birthday & surprised us in our room with champagne. We have made it a tradition to go away for a city break on her birthday & this has never happened before. For the price range this is a fantastic hotel. We will be going back to Paris & will be using the Opera Liege as the standard others have to compete with.

Room extremely well designed and well soundproofed. Excellent breakfast. I really can't think of anything that could be improved, hence my 5star rating.

"Definitely not qualifying for 5 stars"

Its not a bad hotel, but it doesn't meet the requirements for 5 stars. The staff is nice, but again not as professional and attentive as it can be expected in a 5 star hotel. The rooms are very small. The breakfast is nice, but not worth additional 25 euros. They are not serving any warm food or at least snacks during the day, besides breakfast. If it was a 4 star hotel for a decent price, it would be ok. But considering the room rates, additional costs for breakfast etc, the experience unfortunately was rather unsatisfying and disappointing.

"Nice brand new modern hotel in old walls"

Hotel rooms in downtown Paris are generally quite small, which applies also to the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Opera Liège. But the bathroom is bigger and more nicely equipped than most of the other hotels around. Carefully chosen materials and a high quality breakfast contribute to the good impression. A nice room allows for a very pleasant stay. My room faced directly the rue de Liège which isn't very noisy but also not completely quite. The windows offer a good level of isolation so that the noise doesn't disturb. For the quite normal rate below 150€ per night that I paid it was an excellent price performance ratio.

Dear Matblume, It has been a pleasure to read you feedback and I really thank you for that. As you mentioned, Rue de Liège is not a passing street, mere steps away from the noise of the City. We hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you back very soon! Wishing you a great day! Nicolas Point

This hotel is brand new. The location is perfectly in the heart of Paris. The beds were so great we asked for the manufacturer of those beds at the reception. :-) The staff is super friendly and speaks several languages fluently. We will come back.

The hotel is located in a nice quiet neighborhood. The metro is few yards away and the good restaurants are close by. Prices are moderate, and the portions are big. Hotel is a walking distance to Montmarte, the Opera and other tourist spots in Paris. The Best Western Opera Liege is quiet interesting. I would describe it as a modern hotel in an old building. When you walk in to the reception, the decor is very modern compared to any Parisian hotels I have stayed. The rooms are modern, comfortable, clean and quiet. The beds are comfortable; towels are very good with robes and slippers which is expected in a five star hotel. The hotel employees are very courteous, friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would like to go back again and see the improvements.
